The Southern Song Imperial Street was a major paved street in the Southern Song capital. Lin'an, a city in the Southern Song dynasty, followed the "xiangfang system," with the Imperial Street serving as the backbone and connecting the various lanes in a fishbone-like pattern. Numerous remnants of these lanes still exist today, with nearly twenty sections preserving their historical features and spatial layouts in good condition. Most of these are concentrated in the Shangcheng section around Zhongshan Middle Road and Qinghefang. The area primarily features buildings from the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, so visiting at night is recommended.
