There are many rivers and lakes here, and winding waterways are surrounded by vast green mountains. Ten thousand acres of lotus flowers bloom with elegant pink in summer, filling the entire lake. Occasionally, a small boat passes through the water, stirring up ripples in the lake, cutting through the blue sky, white clouds and distant mountains in the water, attracting fish and shrimps in the water to jump happily. This is Puzhehei. The simple Yi villagers, interesting folk festivals, ancient villages, karst cave landscapes and pastoral scenery make this place another paradise on the land of Yunnan.
From June to September every year, it is the season when lotus flowers in Puzhehei bloom. Thousands of acres of lotus flowers are spread on the water surface, with emerald green leaves, various colors of flowers, and graceful postures. Rowing a boat through them, the fragrance is intoxicating and makes people feel as if they are in a poem or painting.
Puzhehei's average annual temperature is 16.2°C, with extreme highs of 35.7°C and lows of -3.6°C. Some winters see light snow. The temperature swings between day and night are significant, so it's best to bring warm clothing and sun protection. Recommendations include a sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a raincoat, a flashlight, and heatstroke medication.
The local consumption in Puzhehei is not too high, and some local specialties are relatively cheap. In the off-season, the general accommodation price is around 100 yuan, and the average price per person for a meal is around 20 yuan.
