Urumqi is the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, located at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain. "Urumqi" in Mongolian means "beautiful pasture". It is the city farthest from the ocean on this earth and the geographical center of Asia.

The temperature difference between day and night is large, so you should pay attention to keeping warm. You should bring a sweater, coat or windbreaker in May, June, September and October. If you go there before April or after November, you must wear a thick wool coat or down jacket to keep warm.
