When the flowers and trees are in bloom, there's no prettier place in this side of town!!!
As a Chauffeur, I brought many wedding parties here for photos. When by myself or with my son, I have walked the Garden during weekend hours for exercise and inspiration.

This park is a lovely addition to the city of Allentown! I'm so glad it is warm and we can enjoy it again! Soon the roses will be blooming and the aromatic garden will be in bloom. It is the perfect place for a run, walk with my husband, walking the dogs, relaxing and reading a book on one of the benches or gazebos in the garden. The stream creates a peaceful atmosphere. I've been here on days when it's been pretty crowded, and it still feels serene. Love!

Added to trip at last minute based on friends recommendation. It was excellent. Nice layout, enough different parts to be interesting, much of it was still in bloom for early September would like to visit in mid-June to early July.

Awesome. Well maintained. Loved it. Just a wonderful place to relax and take in the scenery. If you are into geocaching there are caches there.

As I write this it's August. That means that every Saturday Parkway Boulevard is parked solid with cars, including limousines, while bridal parties pose in the Rose Garden for picture-taking, a generations-old tradition in Allentown. The Rose Garden is a magical spot, with well maintained plots not only of roses (in many varieties) but also dazzling summer flowers in the "old fashioned garden." A very pleasant spot for a leisurely stroll, with so much beauty to delight the eye. The garden itself leads to a jogging/running path with exercise stations; also to a large open field with sheltered picnic pavilions. Across Ott Street is a wonderful playground, basketball courts, and the Cedar Beach swimming pool. The Rose Garden is definitely worth a visit.

Had a Great Visit and Walk thru the Rose Garden. Very Peaceful and you can get a good walk in. My wife enjoyed the flowers and trees.

We drove 40 miles to Allentown to attend the Allentown Band concert at west park. On the way we picked up some salads and sandwiches at the Weiss Market in Fogelsville, and took our lite picnic supper into the Rose Garden, and had a lovely half hour admiring the flowers and waterways in one of the prettiest parks in Pennsylvania. Meterless convenient parking was a nice surprise, both at the rose garden and at West Park in town. After packing up our food container and carefully checking that nothing was left behind we enjoyed a great concert and headed home. You have done a great job with the area, it is such a treasure.

Beautiful flowers, lots of roses, and a very enjoyable loop walk around a river, with lots of greenery. Well kept and a great place to walk.

If you are in the area this is a must see. We went at the end of June and it was beautiful. There is a pond and a small creek/stream. Great place to take photos. There is street parking directly in front on Parkway Blvd. A stroll through this little gem will put a smile on your face.

The management here is the rudest, unprofessional and just disrespectful. We come down to vist our grandchildren 3 to 5 times a year. This hateful manager comes out to the pool and wants 10.00 per person for two hours. Oh, and we where the only ones at the pool.
The pool rules say the pool opens at 9 am, it was 12:15 on a clear beautiful day. Just Sorry.

This rose garden in the summertime is beautiful! It’s not real large, but it’s definitely worth going to! Bring your camera for some wonderful photo opportunities! It is immaculately groomed and you have the park all around the rose garden to walk on the trails, picnic, jog, etc...and that’s wonderful too! Very picturesque! Very tranquil! If you have a bee allergy, bring your epi pen just Incase you get stung...bees love flowers of course! It’s truly a beautiful place to visit and there is no charge!

By arithecat |

The Rose gardens are a little slice of heaven. It is close to a lot of things but I always feel a bit removed from the city and its noise. It is well taken care of and you can walk the gardens or sit with a book on a bench and just read in beautiful surroundings. The roses are beautiful and many people have weddings there during the summer months. You need a permit to get married there. Stop and smell...the roses!

By spribila |

A beautiful and well kept and tranquil place. Excellent for taking pictures Very manicured and clean.

By tduncan525 |

Great park, roses well kept. we got married here and it was beautiful. Would do it again. HaHa. A very good place to take photos and is a tradition in the Valley to take wedding pictures here.

I go here often for a walk through a beautiful park, with lovely sweet smelling roses in season, or just to enjoy the trees and streams when the roses die. Yesterday I went with my 4 and 6 year old grandsons. This was better than a playground. They ran across the grass chasing birds, walked on the rocks to cross the stream, got their feet wet and counted the ducklings swimming behind the mother ducks.

By PATraveler986 |

Beautiful place for photos, or just to take in the scenery. Street parking can be a little crowded on summer weekends, though.

By Scot H |

Awesome place to visit. In season the Rose garden is beautiful. Many use it for wedding photos. Attached to it is Ceder Beach Park. A great walking/jogging trail that is also beautiful. It offers a great place for the kids to play at kids park and a great trail that has fitness stations. There are pafillions for family outings, bathrooms, and it is designed with outdoor art features. There is also a swimming pool, basketball courts, a lake, and cook out areas.

All this just at the bottom of the hill from Mulenburg College on one end and Cedar Crest College on the other.

All in all a great place for the family. Highly recommend.

Beautiful park quiet and very peaceful ♥️ Very clean, has beautifully monuments and art statues and the creek and pond are simply stunning

By mekkd |

This is a tranquil place to visit. There are so many varieties of roses and other flowers.Beautiful pond, gazebo, bridge. Great place for a photo shoot.

By Andyrn66 |

I have photographed many weddings, proms and engagement photos here and it is always lovely. Please go in June when the roses are in bloom, walk about and find your favorite!

By Susan S |

This is one of my favorite spots to get away for some peace and quiet. The gardens are always well kept - year round. So if you want to walk or run or just sit and enjoy the surroundings, it is always a nice experience.

By Jim K |

Nice area to mellow out and walk around in. Lots of different Rose's and benches to relax. The little Lilly pond was very nice. Very relaxing

By lillious |

This stop was part of our road trip of gardens. I chose to stop here so we could stretch our legs in between the drive. I knew that it was unlikely all the roses would be blooming yet but we were pleasantly surprised that there already so many to gaze at. This is a wonderful park and if we lived nearby I'm sure we would gather her more often. Definitely worth the stop!

In June of 2001, I lost my son Joseph shortly after birth. Lehigh Valley hospital had a program where at their expense you have the option of sprinkling your babies ashes there. If you ever notice, back by the one gazebo towards the stream is a plaque in the ground stating here lies my child. Some may feel uncomfortable with my decision, but for me there is no other place i would like to pay my respects to my son Joseph because he lies with beautiful roses, baby birds flying. Very comforting to me to visit him there. The only thing that is missing are the harps playing angel music.
So next time you visit or visit for the 1st time know they are angels guiding over of of you.

This is one of the gems of the extensive Allentown Park System. In addition to the rose bushes which are beautifully laid out, there are arbors with birdhouses built by an eagle scout who recently replaced the ones that hat were deteriorating. The paths are very walkable. There are also other flowers and an herb garden maintained by the Allentown Garden Club. Wedding and prom pictures are regularly taken here. The rose garden is only a part of Cedar Creek Park. There is a walking trail with exercise equipment geared toward older adults. There are two small lakes on the same side as the rose garden. On the opposite side of the street the park continues with a large handicapped accessible playground, the pool which is undergoing a substantial renovation, another lake, and a walking path. There are plenty of places to picnic. Children can wade in the creek. Walkers share the path with bikes.

The Allentown Park system is a true gem in the Lehigh Valley and the Rose Garden is the centerpiece of its design. The gardens are set up to cover all seasons with bulbs and flowering trees in the spring and roses, annuals and perennials blooming throughout the summer. Fall flowers and foliage to please the eyes. In winter the empty trellises and dormant trees give you hope that spring will soon return. There are ponds and statues and quiet places to sit. You can simply enjoy the gardens or you can stroll along the Cedar Creek. Joggers and exercise enthusiasts can use the paved paths and exercise circuit that is also handicap accessible. Across the field from the gardens, pavilions and public restrooms are available, as well as volleyball courts and open spaces for frisbees, kite flying and other activities. The Rose Garden does not allow pets but the rest of the park areas are pet friendly. I hope that you stop by to enjoy the area.

I have attached some pictures from previous visits.

Awesome blooms even in the Fall! We designed gardens. Definitely planning on going back! Great walking path and picnic pavillons nearby. Cedar Beach park is across the street too.

By Cheryl S |

If you are visiting Allentown and the Rose Gardens are in bloom, you definitely do not want to miss a walk through. In late spring, summer and early fall, catch bridal parties being photographed, adding to the joy of visiting.

By 574lawrence_ |

We come here at least once a year as a family. Most of the time we are here to take family photos. You really couldn't ask for a nicer place to do this. Great place for walks and exercising too. They have stations you can stop at and test your strength and stamina.

By MOERUE |

Even after being devistated by a horrible horticulture virus, the gardens are lovely. Kudos to the City of Allentown's Parks workers that worked tirelessly to save this local treasure.

By Gene P |

A great place to walk and take in the natural beauty of flowers, trees, birds, and nature in all its splendor. John Lennon took his son here when he wanted to get away from the city. A great place for young children to run and exert some of their extra energy. If you like roses, then this a special place for you.

I grew up across the street and enjoy going there to this day, very well maintained, lot's of wildlife (I've seen ducklings, herons, trout, even a bald eagle!) Over all a wonderful environment and highly recommended.

This has to go on your must see list. Easy to get to, easy parking and safe area. The rose gardens display a mind blowing experience in rose viewing and also offers a wide variety of other flowers all by a creek that all adds up to a wonderful, relaxing experience. Take your time here to smell the roses and simply hang out in peace and quiet.

Pleasant place to walk around. The memorial services are touching and special. Have many fond memories there.

This garden is a lovely retreat to make on your own or with others. You can simply walk around and gaze at the beauty around you or pull up a bench and let you mind go while the birds sing you a melody.

The garden is carefully maintained and always in great condition.

It is very easy to park right on the street (Broadway) and walk right in and you can't beat the admission price - FREE! It is great that it connects to the walking trail and can easily and safely be walked to from Cedar Beach Park or Muhlenberg College or Cedar Crest College.

By Linda W |

The gardens are a great place for weddings or for pictures taken after weddings. I know as 46 yrs ago I had our wedding pictures taken here. Also nice walking trails and picnic areas.

By Tommio |

Always meticulously maintained grounds, walkways and gazebos make this a favorite spot for special occasion photos and even weddings. But you don't have to wait for a special occasion to appreciate this place. Allentown has changed a lot of ways for better or worse, but the rose gardens remain a constant.

I have been visiting the Allentown Rose Garden all of my life, even making time to wander through the garden each time I come back into town to visit family. I am told my grandfather helped to build the old building on the gardens property. I travel a good bit, and am sure to visit public gardens in each city. I have never seen a better rose garden!
While in the rose garden, if you have the time, stroll a bit further and see some more of Allentown's wonderfully maintained parks and gardens.

Family friendly and dog friendly park. Paved paths make for a great place to walk, run, or bike. It is a beautiful park and people are usually very friendly and share the path. We walk our dogs here sometimes and most people are careful with walking their dogs, but some people walk their dogs off-leash, which is not allowed but they do it anyway. There are doggie "poopy" bags and trash cans available at various stations, which is nice if you need them.

This park is great for exercising. You see many people on the trail, young and old, getting healthy. River, pavillion on one side of the park, rose garden & ponds on the other side, huge grassy areas. This is my spot when I get married, it's beautiful.

By Kat K |

A lovely park with lots of roses blooming. Great setting for wedding and prom pictures in the gazebo. Walk the gardens, cross the creek there is a pavilion with grills for picnicking.

By AlphaRam |

My wife and I visited the Rose Garden – a place that we were married 11 years ago. The place is as beautiful as it ever was. We came back to visit the place where our marriage began. After all, a marriage should be something in which both people have the greatest pride. This place, with all of the varieties of beautiful roses, is a wonderful reminder of a wonderful day.

By justpeachy48 |

Lovely gem of a park where you'd least expect it. Late in the season but there were a surprising amount of roses still in bloom. Rose garden itself is rather small but is part of a much larger setting with other lovely plantings, sidewalks, benches, gazebo and folly. Perfect for a leisurely walk on a sunny day. Beautifully maintained, apparently by a neighborhood associate and best of all free!

By HemantPatel1212426 |

The moment you step inside the gardens - you’ll notice natural beauty all around you. Of course, this is if you go at right time of the year to experience early blooming hundreds of rose varieties in spring and very compactly covered bushes in summers. Best part is unlimited spots for a your portrait, selfie, and group shots. Enjoy being part of natural surroundings. Thank you for excellent care of the gardens, park staff!

By lexus95 |

Perfect place for an outdoor wedding. Lovely flowers and gorgeous setting for pictures. If you're into walking, or going for a nice stroll, the area around the Rose Garden is for you.

By Sandi |

It is lovely to walk in, it is great for wedding photos - regardless of the season. The stream that runs through the Rose Garden is beautiful. There are picnic tables it is fun to go there for an impromptu lunch with friends and family.

By Wendy R |

I spent a hot morning here taking some photos. The flowers were beautiful and the water areas were gorgeous too. Great place for photos.

What a beautiful park in the middle of the the West End. Great walking path, beautiful ponds and gardens and dog friendly.

By Jerry K |

Rose Gardens is a well maintained park that offers a great place to take photographs, enjoy well maintained flowers and walk along the creek. Great for wedding photos.

By katkief12552018 |

This was a lovely stroll through the roses... a creek gently runs through it, statues and gazebos, perfect location for pictures for prom, weddings or whatever.

By Susi J |

very pretty to go to when you have some leisure time and the weather is nice. Sit there a while and listen to the birds sing.
Sometime on Sundays you can watch a wedding going on

By hotsync50 |

If you enjoy flowers, then walk around this land and enjoy. So pretty when all is in bloom, you can walk at your leisure with nobody bothering you. Grounds are kept up nicely.

By Richard D |

Allentown Rose Garden is housed in one of the best parks, (IMO) outside of NYC, Cedar Beach Park.. This garden in summer is very lovely and Ive seen it used by Wedding parties, couples, and families as a beautiful backdrop to their photo ops. I've taken many pictuers here myself. The park is great as well. Lots of activities.. There is a walkway throught the park that has various excersise stations to work the entire body. Pool, basketball, artwork, ALL KINDS of childrens jungle gym equipment, a lovely brook runing through it, ponds, this place is HUGE!

By djstu4 |

Many locals go here for pictures -- for proms, weddings, etc. The roses are beautiful when in bloom. The grounds are kept very nicely. Also, there are pavilions available for parties, picnics, etc. Great place to just relax or walk.

By Ruby Rose R |

I was surprised that there were no reviews of this little gem. I often stop at the Rose Garden on my way to the Fairgounds Farmers' Market. There are dozens of varieties of gorgeous roses in season, tagged with their names. There are walkers on the paths, photographers, artists, bird watchers and flower lovers like myself. Limousines line up on Saturdays with wedding parties to have their photos taken with a beautiful backdrop. A path also leads to a spot called the Old-Fashioned Garden, which blooms a bit later than the roses. No restrooms or refreshments available but benches to sit and relax. I wouldn't travel miles to Allentown to see the garden but if you're nearby during rose season, it would be a beautifu peek into a well-maintained garden and best of all, it's free.

By Bruce B |

just a beautiful place to spend a morning or afternoon. it is just a beautiful garden experience and gave us a few ideas of what to do for our home garden.

By Kathleen D |

The Rose Garden is beautiful at any season. A great venue for wedding pictures. Have pavilions to rent for picnics and parties. Near a swimming pool.

By traveller5942 |

It is a beautiful quiet place with easy parking and not a lot of people. It is easy to spend one hour or so just to walk around. There is a sign about ‘no dogs allowed in the garden’. But there are many dogs walkers which really do not bother us until two of our family members stepped into their ‘bombs’. I hope that can be rectified, somehow.

By matsays |

This is probably one of the neatest, totally free attractions in one of the most unexpected places. Beautiful and well maintained, if you happen to be in Allentown and you stop anywhere at all, this is the one place you need to stop at.

By megan t |

Grounds are beautiful, love walking the dog here. Running trail with workout stations.
We had our wedding photos taken here, and many locals have their weddings here. Well manicured lawns, and lovely flowers in season.

By William W |

This is a great place to take the wife, kids, family. The grounds are typically in great shape. Wonderful for simply taking a quiet walk and enjoying nature.

By Susan T |

I love just walking around the rose garden. You may come across others that are taking photos of brides to be, couples, or sweet 16. If you have allergies to bees or flowers you may want to come prepared but make sure you take your time to walk through. Some mornings they even do a free yoga class in the rose garden, what a great way to be in nature.

By MM8803 |

We visited at the end of the growing season and there were still plenty of roses to see. This place must be gorgeous in the summer. Nice park and walking paths in a lovely section of the city.

By Loraz8 |

The Allentown Rose Garden is a true treasure. Visiting all year round, but especially between June and September is beautiful.

By Emmaus_PAFisherman1 |

This has been an Allentown attraction for many years. There is no better place for an enjoyable stroll through magnificently maintained rose gardens. Many area people have come here for their wedding photographs, so when the roses are in bloom this place will be busy. I know of no one person who has not been impressed with the Rose Garden

By Matt B |

I live close by. It's always a treat to walk through the park. When the roses are in bloom, it's very gorgeous. Great for a date walk or just a time to relax and enjoy the scenery.

By C L |

For the past 30 years I have been visiting the Rose Gardens when the roses are in bloom, and thankfully it continues to be well maintained. My children always enjoyed the gazebo, bridge and flowers. And yes, it is a perfect place to take pictures!

By denver88 |

Great variety of rose that is quite impressive, gardens are free entry and the area very well kept, remember no dogs allowed for obvious reasons, located in a park setting with parking close by, bring your camera and spend some time walking nearby hiking paths

By LovingSanFranscio |

Nice Relaxing Stroll in park setting. The Rose Garden is next to a nice park with asphalt walkways, where you can walk your dog as well.No Dogs Allowed in Rose Garden area though.

By Ana M |

A really nice place for people that love flowers and rose. It’s really nice to walk around with the relaxing breeze from the small creek. The smell of some of the roses. And the best of all it’s really popular for photographers to do shoot for wedding and maternity photos

By bobemac |

The Malcolm Gross memorial rose gardens have displayed the
beauty of hundreds of varied types of roses for over 70 years
in a serene park along the banks of Cedar Creek.

By rkjk87 |

Nice place to stop and smell the roses. They also have two first come, first serve gazebos for weddings. The city doesn't charge for the use of the gazebos. Nice place to walk, read or even meditate.

By Don M |

A favorite for local outdoor weddings in Allentown, the walk way is connected to other parks running along Hamilton Blvd.. Park on Parkway and you can easily find your way around. Only suggestion is that you come prepared. The public rest rooms are nasty.

By daviddianeb2016 |

It is a lovely park indeed. The roses are so pretty and there were so many beautiful statues, and memorials.

By caminoguy |

My wife suggested we take the Dog for a walk in the Rose Garden on Saturday. What a nice place. All different flowers in bloom with different gardens and benches. It has a creek running through it with paths all along.
