A MUST see when visiting Helen, GA. VERY easy to get to from downtown Helen (by car), big parking lot, gift shop, and bathrooms. The whole "path" is paved and wide (people had strollers) . Dog friendly too. There are some steeper areas in the back by the falls, but plenty of benches and areas to stop. The falls are breathtaking and several levels for photo opportunities. I would allow 1-2 hours.

Beautiful falls at the end of the trail. One section of the trail is pretty steep going up and coming down. There were people turning around at the end of the steep part but it did level out after that.

Short .4 mile hike up to the falls. They are beautiful and make for great photos. Also, very nice scenery and river running parallel to the trail.

The walk is nice. It’s not too far, and it’s paved. It can be a little steep, but it’s well maintained. I just don’t understand why they charge $5 per person when other state areas charge per car.

Two waterfalls - one 153 foot and the other 50 foot drop. Names after the daughter of an early settler. Very nice area and walk in. Paved walkway, but it's a bit 'steep' so might be a challenge for persons with mobility issues. There were about 12 -15 people on the observation deck so it was a bit more crowded than we hoped (especially since a couple was doing a 'photo shoot').

Easy to get to and excellet location in regards to Helen Georgia. Cost is $5.00 but free to military with I.D. Card. Carry a water bottle.

We had a great time walking up to Anna Ruby Falls. Our kids loved it. There are several spots along the way to stop for photographs. The trail is paved so it makes for an easier hike. Nice restrooms and gift shop at the beginning of the trail. Also nice little picnic areas all around

We were delighted with the hike up to the falls. There were smaller waterfalls all the way to the beautiful double waterfalls at the end of the hike. Because it was in May, the weather was delightful. We took oodles of fabulous photographs.

Lovely walk through the forest with several cascade overlooks and steep mountain walls where trees and rocks have fallen into the creek below. There is little or no access to anything off the paved trail. The narrow trail is 0.4+ miles and steep in places with no guard rails. Some published reviews suggest this is an 'easy' trail with gradual inclines, but do not be misled, there are spots where the trail, while paved, is not advised for people with disabilities and not feasible for wheel chairs. Parents with children in strollers will find this trail to be a workout. Some places require hikers to climb steps to reach the best viewpoints. Cost is $5 per person. Gift shop is sometimes closed during the week and bathrooms may close early. Falls are impressive and worth the effort for those prepared to make the climb.

Short hike up a paved steep half mile path.
Worth every second! Beautiful sights all the way up with stopping points with benches if needed.

Short and sweet hike up to see a great falls. Lots of folks to maneuver around. Whole thing takes about an hour.

A very pretty waterfall. The walk was paved and not too difficult. It’s a little steep in some places but there are benches to take a rest. My mom is 76 and she made it!

Falls are very good. The walk up is very scenic. Easy walk up paved. With observation platforms to view falls. There is a small fee to enter the park

Beautiful scenery! I loved all the little falls along the trail to the big falls. Pictures just don’t do justice to the area. Well worth the $5 per person admission fee. Trail is paved but it is very steep at times. There are spots along the way to sit and rest if needed. If you have a small child and are able to push a stroller uphill, I would recommend that because their little legs will get tired quickly.

The paved hike to the falls is only 0.4 mile each way. There's some gradient, but several benches along the way to take a break. The trail is shaded and follows the path of a lovely creek. Gates close at 4 pm, and the restrooms at the Visitors Center are good.

The scenery on the way up to the falls is just as nice as the falls itself! lots of great views of the river and mountain and woods as well as other smaller waterfalls. Its not too steep and there are plenty of places to stop and rest if you are older and not in great shape, like me.

Went up there to see the falls. It was peaceful and relaxing from the moment I got there til the time I left. The hike up to the falls was definitely enjoyable. Watching the fish jump in the water was great. Definitely somewhere I'm looking to go back to.

short walk on paved trail leads to ruby falls easy hike and well worth it lots of shade and different trees to admire

It’s quite a hike up hill but very worth the view. Plenty of resting stations along the way. The visitor center and restrooms were clean. Had a great trip.

The hike up is well worth it. We took our 2 dogs. It was steep in places, but plenty of places to rest. The sound of the water is so calming. I was not prepared for the beauty. There is a wonderful gift shop at the end. The lion’s eye trail is great also.

Short hike ,that is easy most of the way. Nice scenic waterfall for pictures. Next to parking and restaurants, so can't miss it, Worth a short hike to see it all, only see a little bit from street.

Worth the effort. Steep incline up and steep decline down. Good shoes required. Shaded the entire way and beautiful every step. Waterfall at the end was worth it. Restroom and gift shop at the trailhead are great touches.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Anna Ruby Falls. The visitor's centre had a nice restroom and gift shop. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We were SO DISAPPOINTED! The Falls was closed today, December 24th. There was nothing to warn us of this until we arrived at the booth where the woman told us the Falls was closed. We arrived around 1pm. Please advise people ahead of time before they make the trip to see the Falls that are closed! We looked online numerous times and there was NOTHING that indicated it would be shut down today. We expected it to be closed on Christmas Day, but not today. Ah, well. We did enjoy the town of Helen.

Love going to Anna Ruby Falls. It is a nice walk up to the falls. Great to be outside and get some exercise. They have a wonderful gift shop and public bathrooms too.

Very beautiful walk but wear comfortable shoes. Two semi-steep climbs with less incline in the middle lead to a gorgeous view. There are plenty of benches for those in need of a break along the way and the return visit is all downhill. I would recommend the journey.

It was an exceptional and must see if you are visiting the town of Helen, GA. It,s a short drive from the town to that falls about 10 15 min. You pay a small fraction for entrance only $3 per adults. It has a lot of parking and plenty of picnic tables close to the parking and near the river. To get to the fall it’s also a short walk about 0.4 miles up hill but it’s not to steep, easy hiking. In the winter be careful with floor as it will be a little slippery if ice forms. Overall very recommended for families and kids.

The views are amazing. The trails are clean and well kept. A great experience and the hike round trip was not bad at all even with 4 kids ages 2-13yrs.

We took a very leisurely walk up to the Falls. The path is well paved and super friendly for all. The pathway is a within a beautiful woodland area!!! Highly recommend this for experienced and inexperienced hikers and waterfall enthusiast.

Easy paved hike. Little bit steeper than I expected but definitely manageable for even kids and small dogs.

This place is so beautiful. This is a place to take your family. Great outdoor activity. Kid friendly. The views are breathtaking

The trail up to the falls was steep. There were some benches along the way for resting. We went first thing in the morning and although there were lots of people, it never seemed too crowded. When we left the line at the entrance was very, very long. So glad we went early! Nice gift shop with clothing at good prices.

This was a lot of fun. We loved that the path was paved. My husband is visually impaired, so this made it much easier for him. It is a lot of uphill walking, but doable. Lots of places to rest along the way too. Once you get there, the waterfall is breathtaking. Completely worth it.

Beautiful hike, beautiful people, beautiful falls! They have clean restrooms, as well! One of my all time favorites!

The falls are amazing. Hike is easy because it’s paved and relatively short but parts are a steep incline. Gift shop and restrooms at start of trail. It is a bit confusing to get there through the state park (it’s in the national forest) and signage and hours of operation are confusing

This site is very well done and maintained. The walking path is paved and while it has a few spots of decent incline it is only 0.5 miles, or so. We were there on Memorial Day and the observation decks were packed but I still managed to snap some good pics. Well worth the effort!

Nice place to take a walk with the family. Easy and paved hike to the falls. Very close to downtown Helen. $5 entry fee per person.

The falls are a .4 mile uphill hike. It was well paved and had benches and trash cans along the way. There are wooden platforms at the top for sitting and viewing at different spots. People were friendly and taking pictures for each other. There were restrooms and a gift shop at the start/end of the trail. Pets are welcome.

My husband and I went to see the falls during a trip to Helen, Georgia. Full disclosure , I am not in the greatest shape. The path to the falls is fully paved. Be warned though it is mostly uphill and there are a few places that are pretty steep. I made it, but I did have to stop and catch my breath a couple of times. Make sure you wear good shoes with good traction . They do provide some nice benches to sit and rest on. The falls are beautiful and worth the walk. The gift shop is nice. If you have a national park annual pass, it will work for Anna Ruby Falls.

The hike was super easy, and the fall at the end of the hike was beautiful. We were March of 2020 and it was snowy. Added to the scene.

This was a great experience but keep in mind that this is "easy" if you are in shape..lol. I took breaks and used a walking stick and made it!!! Soooo worth it. Highly recommend it. Teen enjoyed as well. Short walk but pretty steep in sections. All paved and just gorgeous along the way.

The trail to the falls is paved and very short. There are restrooms along with a little gift shop. We really liked the view but it was worth going on the early side as there were alot of people there when we left.

I have hiked Anna Ruby falls for 24 years, and never get tired of the view. We always go when we are up in the area.

Beautiful falls - well worth the walk uphill! The path is paved with benches & informational spots to learn about the local foliage & history.

This is a very easy walk up to the waterfalls. It had nice information signs throughout the walk on a paved road. The falls were beautiful, so glad we ventured out to see them. There was quite a bit of traffic for a weekday.

Very nice water falls. I’ve never seen ones so high before. The viewing areas were well made.
Be aware! it’s a long winding drive into the parking area.
Families with babies, strollers or elderly be warned! The path is paved, but it is very long and very steep. We were all out of breath and we are in decent shape. I saw several people struggling to get up the steep slopes. Several people brought waking sticks and the elderly were clutching their chests in pain.
I wouldn’t bring little ones there’s no guard rails on most of the paths and it made me very nervous.
The park closed early and many cars were left having to turn around after the long drive in.

Short trip to the falls about 1/2 mile mostly uphill but tolerable even with my old knees! Well worth it!

Very few people in the park, due to the cold, so we got great views of the falls! The hike is a little steeper than we thought, but not difficult. Definitely wear your hiking or good walking shoes! It's a beautiful trail that's well maintained, full of info along the way, and observation decks so close enough to the falls to catch some breath-taking photos!

The climb is short, fairly steep, and worth it. The climb had lost of information along the way to the top. Many people would stop and read the signs for a short break and great information. The falls are spectacular and very picturesque.

Beautiful waterfall, loved it! The hike was paved with bridges to cross the streams and view the falls. Well worth the hike.

I LOVE waterfalls. This is a double waterfall that is gorgeous. Walking path to it is about 0.4 mile, steep incline in spots, there are benches to rest on along the way. Well worth the hike to the top! I walked it with my cane, slowly,,,, I made it to the top, to a round of applause and cheers to greet me, from everyone that had passed me going up to the top!! This is a must see natural beauty!!

Paved walkway up to falls. Small gift shop with bathrooms. Easy trail for most, not very steep but great view at top of both the Anna and Ruby Falls. Trip up to falls approximately 30 minutes.

This was a great experience...one point to make first is approaching the road to the Falls, there is a parking lot with a sign that says to leave $5.00 in an envelope in a box, there is NO SIGN anywhere that tells you that this is not for Ana Ruby Falls which is much further up this road...Keep going and you will come to a gate that you pay $10.00 to walk the Falls, not the friendliest worker at the gate...anyway don't leave money or park at that lower area, it is NOT the Falls area...This is a lovely walk in a great cool temperature forest area on the way to the falls...There are 2 or 3 fairly vertical walks to get to the Falls ...could be a little tough for some...You MUST wear comfortable safe sneakers for this walk...its vertical in spots and its kind of a rainforest environment so the paved walkway can get slippery in spots...it was well worth the trip, very cool, and not sweaty hot walking...fine with a dog too...

The falls are gorgeous and the path is well maintained. Good facilities although there was a sewer stink right at the entrance…

my wife who has bad needs made it and she was glad she did there are places to rest on way up to fall while we were going up we met a make who had heart surgery and a 90 year old lady that made it so my wife if can do so could she and she did it was so beautiful well worth the hike to falls

It is a short but step walk, but it’s so worth it! Absolutely beautiful!
I would definitely recommend this!

The falls are beautiful, the hike is uphill but paved and fairly easy. We did it a couple of times before. This time my husband spontaneously decided to go hiking on a side trail with our son. The trail was marked as easy. There was no map how long is the trail and where it ends. They thought it's a loop. Long story short. The trail was 3 miles long one way and ended at the other side of the park. There is no cellphone or internet connection at the falls. The visitor center has no maps of the hiking trails. 4 hours later they made it back to the parking lot.

Gorgeous views of autumn leaves and bubbling stream on the hike up to the falls. It can be steep; there are places to rest quite often. The senior pass does take care of the admission fee.

While the trail to Anna Ruby Falls (See Hardman Farm for where she lived) is short, it is steep reaching a grade of 22% (we were told). It seemed steeper. The Falls are terrific and well worth the trek (and it is a TREK). Bring your National Park Pass for free admission.

Extremely Entertaining & Enjoyable what a Beautiful place, highly recommended for picnics family outings nature walk totally Outstanding.

The park was great. The view of the waterfall was amazing. The hike… was a little brutal, but was completely worth it. This is from a guy that barely exercises.

Falls are a must see, worth the drive and walk up. Just Beautiful!! While your there drive around the forest, beautiful place.

This is definitely a must stop! It's only $5 a person to see the waterfall so it's budget friendly. The hike to the falls is 0.4 miles and is a steep uphill hike but the views are certainly worth it! We spent about 15 minutes at the falls taking pictures before heading back and the hike back is downhill so it isn't as strenuous. We were in the park a total of about 2 hours between the hike to and from the falls and the gift shop/visitor center so it doesn't take long. You'll be lucky to get cell phone signal in the park so we had to get directions from an employee to get us headed in the right direction. She was so friendly and helpful! I would love to visit here again in the future.

Anna Ruby Falls is well-worth a stop to visit. They are beautiful! The walk is short and the path paved. Along the walk you will experience various views of the falls and river. Take some time and enjoy the beautiful area.

Great hike up to the falls. Little strenuous the older you get. But benches to sit and rest are available.

Spectacular falls! Plenty of paved parking with bathroom facilities and gift shop. Paved 1/2 mile walk that was steep in sections. About 1/3 of way up the trail was a bridge over Smith Creek with benches. The trail followed the creek and is surrounded by rhododendrons and tulip popular trees. Very beautiful and relaxing with benches along trail. At the top of the trail is twin falls formed by Curtis Creek which falls about 150 ft and York Creek which falls about 50 ft. They come together to form Smith Creek. There is a bridge and two platforms for viewing and picture taking. One of my favorite falls!

Great views of the falls. Wish people would obey the signs asking you to stay on trails, we had a number of folks off the trails (down in the creek) watering their dogs, and even a lady in a bathing suit wading in the water. If there were a ranger walking around that might help.
If you have a National Park card use that to pay the $5 pp entrance fee. There is no sign on the booth to tell you you can use your card, I saw it on the web site.

Super short hike (0.5 mile) on paved path to double waterfall. Well maintained path and the falls are beautiful! A bit crowded which makes the hike more of a nature walk than an adventure.

I am not a BIG outdoor person, but I LOVED this little hike! here in Florida our hikes are mosquito and bo0b-sweat nightmares! This was so refreshing! I wish I could do THIS every day! there is a $5 per PERSON, not car, fee - and it is totally worth it. STUNNING pictures. ALL the people on the trail are nice and friendly. LOVED IT ALL!

This was definitely something to see if you're in Helen, Ga. The hike going up is a bit more strenuous than I thought but I don't hike much so maybe for others it would be fine. I had to stop a couple of times along the way up but they had plenty of resting spots. It isn't to long of a hike but it is all up hill but the falls were pretty to see and I am glad we did it.

A must see! Very beautiful falls! Walk is a little steep, but well worth the hike! Path is fully paved but older people and overweight may have a tough time on the last 10 minutes. Takes about 45 minutes to and from.

This park is a must-see and -do for hiking, picnicking, and much more. Two waterfalls and breathtaking views.

Love this place its absolutely beautiful! The walk up and the view at the top is worth every minute of your time. You won't be disappointed!

First of all, the falls & surrounding area are beautiful!
Note- the hike up can be challenging for those who have mobility issues. If you are in less-than-great shape, just take your time & take breaks.

Short paved walk, steep incline for last part. Like following the water along the way. Signage for trees and nature facts. Waterfall is gorgeous and plenty of good places for pictures. This is a federal park, entry fee is $5 per person and they close at 4. Clean restrooms. There is a gift shop. Definitely worth seeing!

The easy short walk to the falls is paved with a few steps along the way. The trees, the birds and the sound of the rushing water made this walk so-so enjoyable. The falls is small but unique and beautiful.

This waterfalls were really worth the little walk up a paved path to see. As a Military Veteran they did not charge me and my wife the $5 per person entrance fee.

Absolutely stunning! Paved pathway the entire way made it easy to navigate up to the falls. Entire area was clean. The gift shop staff was very personable and helpful. Will definitely go again.

Hiked the trail up to Anna Ruby Falls. The trail is steep, but paived. The Falls are beautiful. Worth every step of the way! Don’t miss these!

Ana Ruby Falls
The park has started charging $5 per person for entrance to the park. Just a few years ago it was a flat fee per car.
Since it is October the park is really busy therefore the park is bringing in decent money.
One would think for the money being brought in, that someone would check the bathrooms with some regularity, however from the picture of the bathroom floor, obviously checking the bathrooms is not a task they do often.
Also, the only bathroom sink in the ladies’ room was clogged and not draining. There are no paper towels but a large blower where the wall just under it is nasty and gross, lots of dirt on the wall.
There is a little construction on about a 100 feet of the road just after entering the park. Today is a Saturday and they are working on the road and have only one lane open. We sat for almost 15 minutes before the construction worker motioned us thru. This is work they could do on a weekday when the traffic is less congested.
The observation deck overlooking the trout in the stream was closed without any reason.
The walk to the falls is beautiful.
Overall, the natural ares of the park are great, it’s the manmade parts that were troublesome.
We have been here about 6 or 7 times over the last 27 years but not sure if we would return if they are going to increase the cost per person but not improve the facilities.

In all the years of visiting NC/Ga, this was our first time there. Gradual rising grade for accessing the falls. Quite beautiful.

Anna Ruby Falls is beautiful and delightful to see. It’s a reasonable $5 entrance fee per person. The visitor’s center, rest rooms, and gift shop are very nice. The trail up to the falls is wide, paved, and dog friendly. Our pup met lots of new friends. It’s not a bad walk, but is somewhat strenuous. The falls are very impressive. Only fault is that the falls closed too early in the day at 4 p.m.

Luckily we went to the Visitor Center in Helen and learned of this hidden gem. Turned out to be a real highlight of our trip. It's an easy ride from Helen. There are two walks, one near the Visitor Center, and the other to the falls. The one to the right of the Visitor Center is easy enough for someone with mobility issues. The one to the falls does have a grade that gets a little steep for a section, it's otherwise it isn't bad. There are benches to sit and listen. The Visitor Center has a big deck to watch the river area from. The falls are beautiful! The day was warm but it felt wonderful in the forest trail. Definitely bring your camera as you will want to take pictures. The store had some nice items and the prices were very reasonable. You can get snacks and ice cream there too. Clean rest rooms. It's just a great place to have a picnic or just a walk.

The trail along the falls is paved and not too steep. There are benches along the way and spots to step aside to take photos. The staff in the gift shop were helpful and very knowledgable about the area.

It’s mostly paved and has stairs. Great little hike ( only 1 1/2 round trip, if that ) for all ages. Bridges, stairs and waterfalls.

This is a paved trail to the waterfall and it is not difficult or long. It does get busy though. I think it was about 40 minutes for the round trip including pics.

Great waterfall easy to get to and awesome and friendly park rangers . We got really happy to talk to one of them who spent quite some time to talk about wild life around and what to expect.

It’s not a long walk to the falls, but an uphill one. At least it’s on a paved path. Well maintained facility.

5/5 Rating! We easily walked to the falls, took a lot of pictures, and had some quality family time along the way. Add it to your list.

Beautiful tourist spot with wonderful views of the forest around it as well as the waterfalls at the peak of the hike. The hike is relatively short and is paved through its entire length so it is more friendly than similar hikes. The entire hike to the falls is uphill, so this may serve as an issue to certain patrons. It cost $5 per person to get inside the gate and park, free if your a veteran. There is a visitor center with free bathrooms available. The gift shop is nice. Cellular service is very spotty once inside the premises so plan accordingly. Definitely a spot worth visiting while in Helen, GA.

Read about it in the local mountain news and made the trip. Parking was at a premium but well worth the effort and short hike.

Beautiful! This is a must see if you are in the area. The hike up is only .5 miles, but it is uphill. Path is concrete and there are benches along the way. You will walk up alongside the water running through the rocks from the falls. When you reach the top, it is gorgeous!

The two falls are accessible via paved 0.6 mile trail; roughly 180 ft elevation gain. Very pretty hike and falls. The site is part of National Forest so GA state park pass does not work. The $5 fee per person is waived for holders of one of National Parks passes.

We visited the falls on a perfect weather day, blue skies not a cloud in the sky. A good trek up to the falls, but not too challenging. But was definitely worth it. Great photo OP's too!

We enjoyed our drive and hike up to see Anna Ruby Falls on a very windy, sunny, spring day. Completed our trip to Helen, Ga.

Beautiful short hike to the falls. Approximately 1/2 mile of paved path from the parking area to the foot of the falls. Although only 1/2 mile, it is a bit of a challenging incline. I went in the rain, which made the path a little slippery if you were not prepared. Bathrooms and gift shop located at the parking lot.

Absolutely beautiful. The walk is short but up hill all the way. Bring some water. Make sure to read all the info plaques.

This was a great experience, we walked all the way to the falls and saw bears jumping across the rocks where the waterfall is. I recommend you bring good tennis shoes/boots because at some points you are walking uphill to reach the wooden deck to see the falls. It is breathtaking and worth the hike up.

It's a hike to reach the top to see the falls but so worth it. Beautiful falls and clean area. We were blessed to see a couple get engaged while visiting the falls. Its nature at it's best.

just a short drive from the town of Helen, we were surprised by how quickly we arrived there. Enjoyed the relatively easy hike up to the falls and were blown away by how beautiful it was - a must see !!!

We took this short hike and was thrilled to see the falls! All of the park is well maintained. We really appreciate the walkways up to the falls.

Unfortunately when we visited on December 26, 2020 the falls where closed but we were able to drive partially the way in and we were able to get some really nice pictures with the snow. I would've loved to go all the way to the falls. Maybe next time. Definitely worth the visit.

Beautiful, easy, but inclines. The view is lovely. The path is paved. There is places to sit and rest. The steeper parts of the path had fence to help for those that might need it. I saw people of all ages and fitness levels enjoying it.

From the parking lot, the ascent to the falls was 0.4 miles one way. The trail had a mostly gentle, steady incline except for maybe two or three spots. Paved trails all throughout, so heavy duty hiking shoes are not really necessary. Take your time. The sound of water gushing down towards the lake is very relaxing and takes you away from the hurries in the world, as does the pretty scenery.
For an extra treat, try meandering through the loop next to the picnic spot off the parking lot. There are listening benches along the trail loop. This mini-trail makes for some nice quiet time if only for a few minutes, as well as a bit of history lesson and re-appreciation for our natural world.
The walk to/from and around the falls made for an excellent morning jaunt. Ps. Be aware that the entrance fee at the gate is cash only at $3 per person. There is an ATM drive-through downtown at a bank next to Hansen & Gretel store on Main St.

What an amazing place! We had no idea Northern Georgia was full of waterfalls! Definitely a must see if you are in the area! Unicoi State Park is right by it, would have been worth it to look into lodging there. Would be in close proximity to a few others, DeSoto Falls, Duke's Creek and Helton Creek Falls. Those were must sees as well!

Short but intense walk. Very steep going both up and down. Pet and family friendly. Falls are absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommended if in area!

Anna ruby falls is beautiful. The trail leading up to the falls is paved the entire way along with small informative plaques that line the walkway. There are 2 wooden bridges that you can cross. And the trail is rather short and only 0.4 miles. However, the one thing that I didn't read in anyone else's review is the fact that the trail is rather steep in some spots and you are walking up hill the entire way to the falls. There are little to no stairs but if you have bad knees give yourself extra time to walk the trail. The trail up to the falls is gorgeous with multiple cascades along the way.

We we’re staying at the Lodge so easily rode the free shuttle back & forth. Beautiful waterfall & nicely maintained trail & restrooms. Bonus we saw a black bear cub climbing a tree beside trail. Luckily didn’t see the Moma bear. Ranger was there with bear spray just in case.

Loved every step! It’s relaxing and refreshing.
There is plenty of parking and well maintained facilities and park area.
P.S. Don’t take the hiking path on the hill by the kiosk sign unless you are ready to trek to Unicoi. The only way back to your car is the paved trail you took to the waterfall! Or go a bit then turn around.

Very impressive twin falls. One of my favorite falls in the area (also love Amicolola Falls). $5 per person is well worth the trip up a half mile, paved path. The path can get steep for some at times, but nothing that’s unmanageable for most able bodied people. Fantastic payoff at the end of the trail. We almost didn’t do this because we were running behind with some other plans, but I’m glad we made the effort.

This is a beautiful waterfall with so many great photo spots. It's a bit of a hike with a fairly steep incline so may be difficult for anyone with mobility challenges. Definitely worth the walk though!

Nice little gift shop (but expensive.) Be forewarned, if you are NOT in decent shape, only go halfway up the trail. Very steep at the end, before the falls (and then a steep descent coming back down.)

Beautiful falls. You need to walk half a mile uphill to get to it so take your water and time. This is a must when you are in Helen.

Not an easy hike. Yes it is paved but the j cline is so steep going up that I thought I’d collapse. My 12 lb dog couldn’t make it and I had to carry him at the end. It was hot & humid the day we went and there was no air on the path. Lots of people were struggling. But I will say the view is gorgeous. Wish there was a spot you could feel the water or get your feet in but you can’t. Gift shop is small and not pet friendly. It does cost $5 per person to enter the park so keep that in mind.

Came to the area for a couple of reasons. AR Falls touted as being great, but was closed when we got there. Never saw any reason. The closure was not on the Forest service page for the falls!

We hiked up to the twin falls and it was beautiful. I will say that I wouldn’t consider this hike easy. It is paved, so the it’s more walking than hiking, as you don’t have to worry about uneven ground, tree roots or rocks, but it’s all up hill for half a mile with a few leveled off areas to take a breather. Obviously to see a waterfall you need elevation but I was surprised by the incline. We made it and the falls were beautiful as was the walk up, you have a view of the river and beautiful trees and flowers along the way.

This is a must do when in Helen. It is a short hike to a breathtaking view of the falls. It is paved and uphill to the falls but it is less than a mile and benches are available as you go. Highly recommend!

This hike is a half mile to the waterfall, which was paved. It was pretty steep, and there were some stairs if you want to go up to the deck to take pictures. We were able to go with our two and a half year old, and he walked most of the way. Definitely worth it. There was also a little loop by the visitors center that was nice. This is definitely a must see!

The hike to the falls was pretty easy going and nice scenery along the way. We have hiked lots of falls in western North Carolina. Anna Ruby Falls rates high up there for us and would recommend visiting!

This place is so amazing! It's a short hike up but pretty steep at times. Well worth it though! Amazing falls!

Gets four because the top deck was closed to visitors.
Beautiful spot, great excuse to take a walk along a paved path in the woods.
Very friendly staff at the visitor's center! Everything you want a National Park stop to be!

The hike was easy to moderate. My husband who just overcame pneumonia was able to do it with one break. The view was well worth it and the connection to nature was immersive and beautiful. We did not have any hiking gear (just sneakers and the passion to go) - there were children and the hike is paved.

Beautiful. Loved the hike. Legs were sore after all the hiking, but worth the beauty. Dog friendly. Opens at 9am, and is gated so plan accordingly.

We've been to many National Parks, but this may have been the most impressive waterfalls we've seen. Absolutely stunning.
The hike up is a short .6 miles and flat. Do not miss this place.

The short walk led us to the magnificent waterfalls at the end. Since it is paved, I wouldn't exactly call it a "hike" but allowed some in our party to be able to walk it without little trouble. There are a few spots that are pretty steep but the crowds when we went were minimal so they could take their time and stop to catch their breath. Overall, a lovely time.

Family wanted to go. We have a national park pass, so it would be free. Turns out because you drive in cars, if you're not all in one car they want to charge the 2nd car (they agreed not to charge us because we couldn't fit due to baby seat).
Pretty falls, but nothing amazing. Definitely would have been disappointed if we had had to pay $20 for the group.

Don't miss this falls if you are near Helen or Clarksville GA. It is a relatively easy walk along a trila following a beautiful rushing stream. The path is paved and there are platforms for viewing the falls.

Great short hike to see these beautiful falls. Be aware that it is paved but has some pretty steep inclines in spots. We also hiked Dukes creek and enjoyed that one more as it felt less touristy. Anna ruby had too many people on the path and there were lines to take photos. Lost some of the charm of the falls because of it. Still a must do if you like seeing waterfalls.

Short but challenging hike up to the falls. The views along the way and the falls are fantastic. This was one of the highlights of our stay near Helen.

Beautiful well paved walkway along the river through trees. Loved the signs along the way for description. The falls are spectacular!

First, everything was absolutely beautiful. I love the sounds of the rushing water and the falls. The trail was in great condition.
The only negative is that I don't think the official sites are particularly honest about the intensity of the trail. I read, "With a few short steep areas." The whole thing is uphill! Yes, some areas are particularly steep, but from the moment you leave the parking lot, everything is uphill. NOT accessible, if you are thinking of trying it with a wheelchair, rollator, or walker.
This is not a fault of the park, of course! And it's still a beautiful park! Just commenting that the official sites should be more honest.
Written by an out-of-shape middle-aged woman who made it with MANY stops along the way. :)

We were told by quite a few people that these falls were a must see. They were right, they were absolutely beautiful. What we weren’t ready for was the steep walk. No one mentioned the walk and there was nothing warning people of the steepness of this 1/4 mile trek. The sight was worth the walk. It took us a little longer because we stopped a few times to catch our breath. Of course, coming down was faster, except you had to be careful not to slide on the wet leaves or wet walkway. Again, would highly recommend these falls. Just make sure you take some water and be ready to take your time walking up this hill.

A definite must to see if one is in the area, a beautiful walk through the woods, a stop at a pretty bridge to rest for a moment and then a strenuous hike up to the Falls. There is an overlook at the top for picture taking.

I went during the week and pretty early in the morning so didn't have to fight a lot of crowds - its a gorgeous site for sure. Was kind of annoyed I had to wait until they opened the gate at nine to go - i like to go early early to beat the crowds - but that's more a me thing than a critique. I only add it here for anyone else thats an early bird. Secondly, It is steeeep. I just did Clingmans dome in SMNP and its comparable to that incline in some spots but is only 0.5 miles. I feel like I'm in pretty decent shape hiking-wise and there were some tough spots up and back that made me concered for some of the other parties present today. Personally - I think there are some other spots that are prettier but just a little longer of a walk with a less intense incline. Def a nice one to check off the list

Beautiful falls, costs $5 to enter and the GA pass doesn't work. The hike can be difficult at times but it's very doable. It opens at 9am and the gates close at 4pm. Definitely worth a visit if you're in that area

Short easy walk for an amazing sight. Much better experience then I thought it would be. Tbh, thought it was better then Amicalola as far as sight seeing goes

Very pretty and tranquil! Met good people on the walking path. Wish we could have driven closer to the main falls. To much to walk for many. But, it was still great!

Beautiful falls in Helen established in 1925. Highly recommend as it is so so peaceful and beautiful. Easily walkable as the path up to the falls is paved. Lots of places to stop and rest as the walk up has an incline that may require some little breaks in the walk. The falls are gorgeous. The leaves even in November were fairly colorful.

We were visiting Helen Georgia and stumbled onto this beautiful water fall! You drive through a state park to get to the National Park. We visited on a Monday but it was also spring break for this area. It was packed with children. It’s about a 2 mile walk/ hike which ever you want to call it. Plan to spend at least 2 hours there seeing nature at its best. The trail is paved with some benches along the way to the water falls. It’s worth your time to see this natural treasures.

Great hike and beautiful water fall. Path is paved some of the way. It was worth the trip for sure. Some steep grades but doable.

This place exceeded our expectations! It’s a short drive from Helen. The hike to the falls is a little steep in places but it’s paved and not long. There are several benches along the way to rest if needed. At the top there are some stairs to a platform to the best view. It was cool on the walk despite it being 84 degrees in downtown Helen during the day. The bugs were surprisingly not that bad being June but we brought bug spray just in case. There is a gift shop and bathrooms available. Bring quarters if you want fish food from the machine to feed the trout below. We will definitely come back and explore the rest of the park.

It had been some years since our last visit to Anna Ruby Falls so we thought while we were in the area to make another visit. There is a $5 fee to enter the area unless you have a National Park Pass. There is adequate parking for all visitors and some spots are shaded. Before you begin the hike you may visit the gift shop and rest rooms.
The hike is on a paved trail of .4 miles to the falls. Most of the way is well shaded. The first half is relatively flat but the second half has somewhat steep parts though there are areas where you can use a fence as a handrail. The falls are lovely. You may rest here awhile as there is adequate seating. Be sure to take plenty of photos.

Beautiful! Nice paved trail but very steep in places. Nice benches to stop along the way but more are needed. Make sure to take bottle of water. Definitely recommend!

Stunning waterfall! But be prepared for a very steep inclined walk there! Although paved, the uphill trek was difficult for those with little legs.

This is a paved hike, but do not be fooled it is a fairly steep angle uphill 1/2 a mile to the falls. However, the trek leads to a stunning double fall that can take the last of your breath away.

It was more strenuous than I had expected with some fairly steep climbs and descents, but we did it in sneakers. And for that matter, you could go just out to the bridge and come back if it’s too much. Beautiful falls, well kept area, takes an hour or less to get there and back and linger at all the sights. Everyone should go! Note the board said they close at 6, but they let the last people in at 5, so don’t get confused and arrive too late.

We enjoyed this walk with our granddaughter. Yes the trail is only 0.4 but it’s pretty steep. With my extra COVID weight it was a little tough.😀
Definitely recommend it but wear good shoes, bring water and be prepared to carry the little ones!

Beautiful falls, definitely worth the hike. We took one of the marked side trails and it was a beautiful quiet hike away from others, with some pretty views.

This was a beautiful walk through the woods up to the falls. The path was paved (!) and supposedly .4 of a mile to the falls but for an old guy it seemed longer and steeper but was worth the effort. The path goes along the stream and has a place halfway with some pretty rapids. When you get to the top there are two separate huge falls. Do it!

This was the highlight of my time in the area. Georgia state park pass not accepted but I had America the Beautiful pass which was accepted. The path to the falls is paved. There are some steep sections but also benches along the way. Loved that the sound of running water is all along the way. Simply beautiful sight all the way. Not crowded the day I visited so didn't feel rushed. Take time to take it in. Thought gift shop good.

Not an easy hike, but also not super hard. Short section is steeper, but whole path is paved. Views along the creek, especially in autumn are spectacular.

Beautiful hike up to the waterfalls. Paved walkway all the way making it doable for the young and old. Some steep areas making it a challenge for strollers/wheelchairs. Lovely benches scattered along the path for resting. My 2 year old did the whole climb! Dog friendly too.

Absolutely Stunning, it was worth the physical effort to hike the half mile (all uphill) to see the falls. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Helen.

I LOVED this place and didn’t want to leave. So very beautiful! I’m 60 and pretty sedentary but I made it to the top! I was very proud although it wasn’t a long walk. Just kind of steep in some areas. Rested on the benches and kept going!

The walk is about 1/2 mile but there are many benches to sit on the way up. The falls are beautiful! The park and restrooms were very clean.

The hike is short but somewhat steep in places. Very worth it with beautiful vegetation along the way and the sound of fast running water. There are two waterfalls that merge and the views are breathtaking. One of the highlights of our trip. Will be back!

Absolutely worth the walk. Only .4 miles paved but quite steep.. probably not good to do if raining.
Don’t go late. They stop people going in at 4. We were up and down in 45 minutes. Not rushing at all.

Very pretty and worth the short, steep hike. Was cold and overcast when we were there - sure it is even prettier on a sunny day. Don't miss stopping at the lake/beach area - it is beautiful view also!

Went early to avoid the heat. Maybe 30-40 cars in parking lot, but trail didn't feel crowded. 20 min walk to the falls stopping to take lots of pics. Falls themselves are beautiful and majestic. Great outing for families!

The falls were much larger than anticipated. Also the paved trail to it was surrounded by nature (beautiful).

This was an easy hike on a well paved trail to a beautiful waterfall. It was nicely shaded and not too strenuous for children or older adults. There are several sets of stairs but there are nice benches along the way for places to rest. We went on a weekend and the parking lot still had plenty of parking and wasn't too crowded.

It’s $5 per person to enter the national park to hike to the falls. The falls are a steep, paced walk up about 1/2 a mile. Out of shape, obese, or the handicapped will not be able to make the hike. Worth the trip.

This is a short half mile paved hike. It does have a steep incline near the end, so we recommend pacing yourself. The falls are beautiful and definitely worth it. We did see a large age range hiking. I personally would not recommend this for toddlers, as there are steep drop offs on the sides of the trails. Though we did see several toddlers. I also would only recommend strollers or wheelchairs for those who are physically strong to push up a steep incline, or who plan to take breaks on the way up. There are benches along the path. There is a nice gift shop and friendly staff on the premises. It probably took us 30 minutes to hike up, view, and hike back down. They do charge $5 per per adult.

This is a fantastic, paved path up to the falls. A little steep, but, plenty of benches to rest along the way!

Admission is just $5 per car and the short hike takes you to two separate waterfalls that merge into one. The hike ends on a very large viewing platform where you can get gorgeous pictures. It is just a mile or so north of Helen GA and should not be missed.

The hike up is short, .04 miles each way, but fairly steep going up the paved path. There are benches & railings and from time to time the path does level out. Beautiful views as you walk up. The Falls themselves are amazing & well worth the effort. There’s a large platform & seated areas as well. The walk down is a little steep so wear good shoes with traction. Again there are rails on/off down. Great stop !!

This is one of our favorites! We went in the fall, so leaves were falling while we hiked. Beautiful well kept paved trail to various viewing platforms. Don’t miss this wonderful gem!

This is a great place to visit at least once. Yes, it's quite steep but not too bad at all. It's a challenge but will make you feel good about yourself because it gets your heart rate up and you get some good exercise in. The fact that it's a paved path makes it a little easier to do. It's a beautiful view once you get there and there's lots of places to stop and catch your breath along the way. There's clean restrooms and a little gift shop and lots of parking. I definitely recommend it and will be back soon!

Love visiting the falls. This was our 2nd time to visit. The hike is a bit of a challenge but fun. The view is amazing. I think the deck to sit and watch the falls is fantastic. The area is peaceful. Thank you for this beautiful place.

The hike was just enough for us. Beautiful clean trail. Responsible people. Felt safe. The incline was not bad for a person with a sedentary exercise regimen. Dog friendly. The waterfall and sound throughput priceless. Not Amicoloa Falls but same mind relief experience. It gave me what I went for.

Beautiful Hike and scenery. The walkway is paved and a pretty easy and short walk to the falls. It does get steep at one point, but take your time and enjoy the views. There several benches along the path and once you get to the final destination there are is a large deck overlooking the falls, along with a long bench. Lots of picture opportunities. It cost about $5 a person, a great bargain. Had fund.

The entire hike to the top of the falls was gorgeous! The hike was a little steep in some places but completely paved and not difficult. The actual waterfall was beautiful! We enjoyed the hike and my youngest even became a Junior Ranger after working with the park rangers!

I would rate this hike about 3 and 1/2-4. The hike is not an actual hike...its a paved path surrounded with wooden boundaries so you don't get to actually get in to nature or the water (we prefer hikes that you can be in nature and swim). Its a very short and easy walk. The silver lining is anna ruby falls which is big and beautiful. We did it this year but will not put in back on the list next year. One of those things where you've seen it once, mark it off the list, and don't really have to go again.

We took a trip out here in October, and it was beautiful. The path out to the falls is paved with several benches along the route if you need to take a break or just want to observe the scenery. The falls at the end are just spectacular, with a great deck/observation area to get different viewpoints. Highly recommended.

The area is extremely beautiful and shaded which helps in the summer. The paved hike was mostly uphill but an easy hike for someone like me with bad knees and not in shape. It’s a .4 mile hike to the falls which is incredibly worth seeing. We saw all ages there and it was wonderful to see smiling faces again!

The trail provides beautiful scenery. It is a steep climb in places but definitely worth the effort to get to the top of the trail.

Super easy paved hike to the top, amazing platform to view the waterfalls from. <3 Very tall waterfall and magical to watch it flow!

had a little bit of an incline on the walkways up to the waterfalls but magnificent views from the platforms and worth the walk along the creek

Very pretty hike up to see the falls
Benches on the way and an a pave path
Highly recommend making the effort to see the falls

Half mile moderately steep paved trek to two beautiful waterfalls, close to Helen and worth the visit; folks/families of all ages were there. $10 entry fee for adults to enter the park, and they give a generous nod to military (active and retired)

We were taking a short vacation in Helen and this was high on our list. It’s a short drive from Helen and your Georgia park pass will get you in the front gate but you will have to pay to get into the falls (there is a military discount though!) Once you get to the parking lot for the trail to the falls, there’s a station with restrooms and a lookout over a mountain stream. You can even borrow a walking stick! The trail is paved, and with some easy inclines up to the falls. There are numerous lookouts, benches, and bridges for some great picture taking/breaks. It’s not too strenuous; my three year old managed it fine. Well worth the trip!

Anna Ruby Falls is well worth the time and some exertion to get to see. It is set at the end of a 4/10 mile walk to them, all following the cascading creek tumbling down alongside the well-maintained trail. The creek and surrounding area lends itself to some good photographic opportunities.
The walk up to the Anna Ruby Falls is a moderately strenuous one . . . initially not much incline, but further on a bit too daunting for my 88-year-old mother-in-law, who sat on a bench halfway up to wait on us while we continued on.

Worth seeing - every time we are in area! Little bit of a hike but must see!
Path is accessible to strollers and not to hard to small kids either

The falls at the top of the trail are beautiful and worth the trip up. The reviews we read said this was an easy walk. I'm not sure I would agree. I would call ir moderate. It is not a long walk, but there are a couple of steep places. It is paved and in some places the wet leaves made the descent a bit tricky. It would certainly be an easier trip in dry weather.
Nonetheless, the falls at the top are worth the trip.

Walked the trail to see the falls. Pleasant experience..bonus was seeing a bear cub. The falls were beautiful.

There isn't a photo that does justice to these magnificent falls and the trail leading up to them. Admittedly, this middle-aged woman was going on sheer willpower to get there towards the end of the trail where it becomes significantly steep. My husband has bad knees and stopped before the end and sat on one of the numerous benches, but was glad that he got as far as he did. Had great conversations with the friendly folks at the gift shop, too.

Beautiful double waterfall. Only .8 mile hike but its all uphill. Several places to sit along the hike and boy your gonna need it. The view is worth it. Path is all paved.

WE have hiked to many water falls, but these was more than expected. Really Beautiful and not a bad hike at all. Just be sure to take plenty for photos to remember your visit.

Really enjoyed this hike. Very easy to get to the falls as path is paved and benches along the way. There is also a gift shop that has a lot of neat items for sale as well as bathrooms/vending machines.

No doubt this is a scenic walk and the falls are beautiful. It is only about .4miles one way but it is ALL UPHILL and at a pretty step incline. Coming down was a little easier but be careful if you have knee problems. There are several places to stop and rest along the way. It was pretty hot the day we went and we had to take several rest stops. Would we do it again, probably not. We did see several smaller kids on the trail and several people with walking sticks.

After eating so much delicious food in Helen, my wife and I decided to hike the trail up to the Anna Ruby falls. It is approximately 3/4 of a mile up a paved path with the Blue Ridge Mountain scenery just steps off the path either side of us. When you get to the top, you are thankful that you are done hiking uphill and you are overwhelmed at the beauty of the falls.

Lovely waterfall and very easy to access. Hadn't been there in years. Was kind of shocked to see the price is now $5 a person vs the $3 that was still listed on the website. Honestly I find Amicalola Falls far more impressive for the price, but if you are in the Helen area this is worth a visit. Was very busy on Memorial day weekend.

Nice place, all up hill to the falls but there were resting places along the way so I would rate this as moderate.

This is a must see for those who enjoy nature and the outdoors. It is very accessible, about an easy .5 mile walk up a paved path that follows along tumbling Smith Creek. Fee is $10 per adult. The falls are spectacular in and of themselves but the surrounding woods and the creek are beautiful too.
For the more ambitious there’s a 5 mile hike to the falls (10 mile round trip) from Unicoi State Park.

This was a great experience because it involved a short hike, as well as a beautiful reward at the top. The “trail” is all paved, and although there are inclines, the walk is as slow as you want because the trail is wide and maintained.

Went to Anna Ruby Falls today. There is a paved path all the way to the falls, about 1/2 mile one way. Most of the trail is a slight incline with a few steep inclines and some steps. Lots of photo opportunities along the way. Didn’t see any animals. The hike isn’t too bad unless you are over weight and have bad knees, then it is a little difficult but still doable.
There is a small gift shop and restrooms and snack machines.
The park has several nice areas with picnic tables.

Wonderful easy hike to Anna Ruby Falls! Easy to get to, trails was well established with some benches along the way. Beautiful scenery. Even saw some trout in the small pools along the way. They also had a nice gift shop and restrooms.

This was a great hike for anyone. The hill gets a bit steep, but it’s paved and easy to access for sure. Something else very nice about this hike is that it isn’t just the grand finale at the end, but the entire hike is very beautiful scenery as well.

but worth every minute. My wife and I had both knees replaced and we still made the trek. There are rest benches along the way, but rarely needed except to stop and take in the scenery!

A short but somewhat strenuous hike to the main waterfall, but excellent view all the way to the top. Utterly spectacular when you get to the source of the waterfall!

We went to see the falls, and they were worth the hike. I would recommend making sure you see the falls if you're in the area. My husband and I are not in the best physical condition, but there was seating, made out of rock, all along the way. We were able to rest when we needed to. It is a must-see, and don't forget your water and hiking stick.

Nice paved walk to the falls. Area is extremely clean and fun for kids. The pond near the entry way was neat for the kids to watch the various fish gather in that area.

Very easy hike, easy drive from downtown Helen. The views were beautiful, there was a wedding party there taking formal photos. What a spectacular backdrop to memorialize the bride and groom's special day!

The walk up to the falls is steep at times. Wear comfortable shoes. The walk it definitely worth it! The falls are beautiful!!

The walk from the parking lot to the falls is mostly uphill and when we went in December 2020 there was some ice on the path so make sure to wear the right shoes. The parking has a limit to the number of cars but there were too many people on the path and very few were wearing masks. The area around the falls itself has 2 viewing platforms but one was closed off. The other was extremely crowded so getting a peaceful moment to snap a photo was not possible. We chose to hike a trail that starts at the falls but after about 45 minutes we turned around. The trail is not well marked and is covered in leaf litter. We did not have a map and did not want to get lost.

Love the falls... It was $5 per person over 16. The trail... please wear sneakers. I read in a couple post that it was a easy one mile walk, so I had on slides.. wrong decision... It is a up cline hike and I had a hard time. For those who don't hike often it may be a challenge for you. Their are benches along the trail so you can take a break. The actual falls are beautiful. If you are in the area, I recommend.

Amazing short but steep hike to beautiful double Falls. A short drive from Helen or Sautee. Plenty of time to walk around downtown Helen before or after.

My favorite part was being with my husband on a weekend getaway and enjoying nature. The trail was easy to walk and well maintained. The scenery was beautiful. People were enjoying nature, walking usually in groups of 2-4. Some had dogs with them. Everyone was kind. Most wore masks, especially when around others. Social distancing was done through courtesy on the trail. The gift shop had cute and practical merchandise. I think it cost $3.00 per person to enter the park.

We stopped in while going through Helen. I assumed it would be a quick stop since the path is paved and under a mile each way. There is so much to see here! Give yourself at least 90 minutes to enjoy it. The falls run parallel to the path almost the whole way. It was gorgeous. Bring a picnic and swim at unicoi after. It's worth your time. Beautiful scenery

It was really beautiful and just an amazing place to go. I loved the waterfall and every about it just made it special

Pleasant surprise. We were traveling around North GA sights and stopped here last. It is the most beautiful scenery we saw (Bell Mt was close)
A mostly uphill paved path. A little trying for tired legs , but oh so worth it. Beautiful stream along the way and what a sight the falls are
Park is nicely maintained by the feds. $5 pp to enter (forgot my senior pass)

For years our family has been making a trip to Anna Ruby Falls for a hike to the falls, a picnic, and the traditional picture with Smokey The Bear at the beginning of the trail. Today 5.29.2025 was the perfect weather for this outing. The falls are a beautiful example of God's beautiful creations. And to have a picnic by the creek side is unforgettable.
Now for the sad part as we learned of the "passing" of Smokey The Bear (statue) over the winter. Hopefully there will be a new Smokey show up. He must be replaced.

Great short trip from Helen with beautiful views. I was a little worried from some of the reviews about the steep part of the trail due to mom having bad knees, but it ended up not being too bad at all. Whole way is paved or has steps built up. Along the trail, there were several placards with interesting facts about nature in the area and benches which offered natural stopping places for a break when we needed a breather from walking up the hill.
There’s an observation deck at the top with plenty of seating… great place for a quick lunch stop.
Also, don’t miss out on the nature loop beside the gift shop. Easy walk with more great facts about the area.
We got there around 11 and it wasn’t that busy, but it was picking up with several people around as we were leaving around 12:30. So I’d recommend coming earlier in the day for a quieter, less crowded experience.

Nice walk, not too strenuous. Not very far to get to. Definitely worth the walk to the end. Great deck for getting a beautiful view.

These lovely waterfalls just outside of Helen Georgia or an easy 20 minute walk from the parking area in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Worth a visit.

It’s two waterfalls and they are absolutely gorgeous. If you have mobility issues, it is pretty much straight uphill to get there. There are places where you can stop and rest, like benches and rocks, etc. It takes about 15 minutes to get up there if you don’t stop. Even going down, can be hard on your knees and feet. Definitely worth it if you love beautiful waterfalls.

Come prepared as you will walk up step inclines to the falls. The white water views along the trail are breathtaking as there are several benches to rest along the way. This is a trip well worth the effort with breathtaking views of the fall from two different observation platforms. A "must do" outing for those in good physical condition.

The majesty of the Falls was worth the uphill climb( a nice paved path). The beauty of the river along the way enhances the experience

The beauty of the waterfalls and the calm and serenity of the landscape will take you into the beautiful world that God created for us all to enjoy!

Incredibly beautiful falls! Easy walk, only about a half mile and paved. The views on the way up and back are just as lovely as the falls!

We visited on a drizzly weekday. It was an easy walk to the falls, with a bit of an uphill climb, but not difficult for visitors who are not hikers. It was not a busy day, and when we got to the falls we had the place to ourselves. The beauty and peacefulness of this place were breathtaking. In many ways, it was probably better in the light rain than on a sunny day. The falls are within the national park, so if you have a national park pass it is free.(And if not it is well worth the small cost of admission.) Just be sure to let the person at the gate know you are headed to Ruby Ann Falls and not the state park.

Paved trail, some steep areas which may be problematic for strollers or wheelchairs. Less than a mile round trip. Falls are better than expected. Lots of flora and fauna to observe.

Beautiful scenery. Paved path all the way up to the twin falls. Path follows the water all the way with awesome views and plenty of picture taking opportunities. Path is a little steep in parts, but definitely walkable for all.

Two waterfalls combine to form a stream. Very picturesque, and green during summer. It’s a hike and walk from the parking lot. The trail is well marked and has benches to rest. Good place for pics.

A nice, easy and paved hike. We took our two year old in a stroller. It does get a little steep at times, but nothing too difficult. Beautiful falls.

Even if this walk to see falls is only half a mile up, it is very steep at times. Word of caution, when you get to the falls the mosquitos are very bad, so spray yourself before you start out.

Beautiful views and scenery. Benches along the trail to rest briefly and catch your breath. Nice little walk to the water fall

Anna ruby falls for gorgeous. It’s quite a steep climb so wear good shoes with grips. It was $5 a person to get in. We walked up and down in within 30 minutes so might not be the best choice for a larger group

We got there early, so it wasnt crowded.
It did get busier within 2 hours tho.
It was a pretty walk up the concrete sidewalk path.
Benches to sit on along the walk.

Anna Ruby is an exceptionally beautiful hike and falls located adjacent to Unicoi State Park. It is notable that it is not operated by the state park and is gated. Gates open at 9am and they charge $3 a person to park. The roundtrip hike is under a mile and follows a rambling river the whole way. The final view has a couple observation decks and gets you plenty close to this pretty pair of falls. We went first thing in the morning and, with the constantly running water, made for a nice morning setting. The lack of crowds made it even better. This falls was much better than Dukes Creek and I did not do Ravens Cliff to compare to that. Overall, Anna Ruby is an accessible and easy hike that any visitors to Helen should check out.

Beautiful site! It is a short walk on paved path. BUT it is completely uphill on the way up. Do not be fooled that it will be NOT be easy. We are gently healthy young people. It was pretty rough. Definitely wear tennis shoes or hiking boots. Definitely worth the walk up.

We went to see the falls at 4:30 pm. There was a sign that said the gate to the falls closes at 4:00 pm. We mistakenly thought it meant the fee gate so we proceed to a self service fee box and put our $5 in an envelope and proceeded on. Well there is a GATE blocking the road when we get there so we turn around and try to go see other things at Unicoi State Park. We are traveling with a dog and there is not much you can do with a dog in the park. So in the end we donated $5 to Georgia State Parks for the privilege to drive through the park.

Wow this hike is amazing! This is a paved and an uphill hike to the falls. It could prove a little taxing for those having mobility difficulties. However, there are plenty of benches along the way for breaks. I would say this is stroller friendly all the way except at the falls where there is a deck with stairs. This is also a dog friendly hike, they ask that you cleanup after your dog which is understandable. The hike is shaded but would highly recommend carrying water. There are restrooms and gift shop with snacks at the start of the hike but no bathrooms anywhere else. The hike to the falls takes about 45 minutes depending if you stop a lot or not, for a round trip total of .8 miles! There are other trails here as well but we didn’t go to any of those while here. To go to this park, you must first go to Unicoi State park. There is a fee for Unicoi if you plan on doing activities but if you are going to the falls, you pay nothing at Unicoi and pay at the falls. There are plenty of places along the hike to take photos as you hike along the water. There are even little markers with educational things on the path. Overall nice hike, bathrooms are clean, good price point, and paved.

I hiked the trail up to Anna Ruby Falls late morning Sunday, November 20. Beautiful weather in the high 40s. Not too many people yet. What a beautiful hike the entire way and then you're rewarded at the end with Anna Ruby Falls. Approximately 1 mile out and it is completely paved but it is entirely uphill with some areas that are a bit steep. It levels off a bit in some spots to give you a break and there are well placed benches along the way. This was a definite highlight of my trip. There's a nice welcome center and restrooms for before and after your hike. There are plenty of picnic tables in the surrounding area. Plenty of parking as well.
The trailhead for Anna Ruby is to the left of the welcome center and restrooms.

This was a fun little hike to the Anna Ruby falls. The path was all paved and well kept. We really enjoyed the falls and the hike in and out of them. IF you go to Hel, you should definitely go to Anna Ruby Falls.

I read all the reviews about the steep incline. They are all true. There are places to rest and if you go slow it is manageable. The view at the top is beautiful with two waterfalls. Worth the climb!

This waterfall is only 6 miles from Helen. A great daytime adventure while visiting Helen.
It is a 1/2 mile hike, on a PAVED trail but is a slightly, UP-HILL, climb.
It could be difficult for those with mobility/health issues in my opinion.
There are a few benches along the way to take breaks if needed.
The path is along a beautiful, flowing stream and at the end is this beautiful waterfall.

Great paved path. My two year old loved it. I carried her up the hill in a hiking seat, and my wife pushed our infant in the stroller. The hill is not bad and it’s very short. Incredibly beautiful. There is a fee per person. The kids were free.

This was a nice short hike to the falls with many smaller waterfalls along the way. The falls were excellent as well and nicely shaded.

Perfect for ALL. We had a 5yo, 3yo and 15 month old and a mom who had just run a marathon and it was great. Young ones who can't understand edges need to be contained or monitored but not overly so. Nicely paved and new. There is a little spray at the top which is fun on a hot day or may call for a light coat on a cooler one. Benches along the way and trash bins. A lot of fun and a statue of Smokey at the beginning@

Beautiful scenery! Incline is challenging, but there are places to pause along the way. Deefunitely worth the effort!

There is an inclined path to the base of the falls that may be challenging for those not in good shape but there is a reward at the end of the path.

I am a senior can't really walk that fast anymore ...had problem finding the falls went thru 2 gate entrances the last one had someone there think entrance fees $5 but if you have a senior card all pass it's no charge. Then you park, then do the walk uphill whole time for 15 min depending how fast you walk, weather was beautiful crisp not cold maybe 45 -50 degrees and I walked slowly the scene to right you could see the rushing waters /beautiful, then cross 2 bridges then the falls ///wow wow can rest there take in the scenery. I did shoot video of falls. Beautiful.

Beautiful waterfalls and nice hike to get to them (but family friendly hike, nothing too strenous and on paved walkway). Admission I thought was reasonable at price of $5 per adult.

Even with my leg troubles the falls is a must see. There is area's for picnics and good trails to hike.

Absolutely beautiful! This was a random destination for us during a day trip to Helen. Just wanted to see a waterfall, so I hadn’t researched this at all. Parking was $5pp over 15 years old (or rather park entrance fee, but you paid before parking). The site was very visitor friendly. There are multiple picnic locations, plenty of parking, relatively clean bathrooms for a park, a nice visitor center/gift shop and vending machines. The walking trail to the falls was easy with benches along the way, perhaps a bit narrow at points for traffic going both ways if you are holding the hand of a child. Otherwise totally fine for single lanes of traffic both ways. Something I was completely unprepared for was the fact that the trip to the waterfall is straight up - incline the whole way & it is steep at points. Again, it was an easy walk but you should know what you are getting into. Solution - skip flip flops or similar; wear shoes that attach to your feet, which are also important on those steep declines. Also be aware that there is little to no cell service (AT&T) if you happen to need that.

Easy uphill hike to a number of beautiful waterfalls. Happy we rent went once. Next time we’ll
pair it with a stay in Helen, the cool
German town just down the road.

Just under a one mile walk back with some steep incline. Lots of benches along the way for folks to rest if they need it. Lovely view and nice walk. Recommend for all

What an amazing experience. This place is beautiful and the little shop was friendly and nice staff. The walk to the falls is easy - our 80 year old friends did it at their pace - albeit takes about an hour - there are places to sit along the way. When you get to the falls - it is a wow view!

The trail is about a mile round trip and is paved the whole way. Coming in, it is a fairly constant incline. The observation decks at the falls are well maintained, and the falls are gorgeous just as everyone says.

This is a beautiful waterfall worth the hike to see it. The path is surfaced but parts of it are steep. I’m 74 and not in the best shape but I made the hike. Just take your time. My wife has mobility issues and uses a mobility scooter. The trail was too steep for the scooter. It’s a beautiful hike to the falls so take your time and enjoy it.

The hike into the beautiful falls is paved and an easy stroll. The falls at the end was totally worth the trip.

Just a short hike with gorgeous views along the way. The trail is paved but probably a little steep for a stroller or wheelchair in some parts. Our kids walked the entire trail with no issues or complaints. We stopped on the provided benches to take in the sights and let the youngest have a quick break. It was a great activity for us all.

The $5 cost to hike to see the natural beauty was well with it. Everything was beautiful and we enjoyed shopping in the gift shop after our hike.

Had a great experience visiting the place.
There are picnic spots nearby where we can have lunch or snacks with the family
Should visit the beach too in the way back.

On my 1 year anniversary trip and spent the day in Helen Georgia and was told to check out this location! Glad we did, although the trek up to the falls was tough (for a person who isn't in shape) it was well worth it. It was a bit crowded and we were there 2hrs before closing. Once we made it up to the bottom of the falls we just stayed at that look out point. It was better for photos and wasent crowded as was the look out that was closer and higher. The only negative thing I have to say is the vacationers and put of country visitors who disrespected the falls. Clearly marked to stay on the trail doesn't mean to take your shoes off and walk around in the creek becuase it was 80° out. That's just my opinion. Oh and for those needing to know it is $5 per person. Enjoy the falls and just be respectful.

Great way to spend a Saturday
Great photo opportunity of God’s art work
Exercise fresh air family time

Path was paved, but they should also mention the incline. Doubtful this is wheelchair friendly as advertised. A but expensive to go into the park. Falls are nice, but not the prettiest in the area.

My husband and I did the falls it was very beautiful lots of great pictures it took us about 30 to 40 minutes to get to the top but we kept stopping to take pictures and catch our breath. The climb is a little steep but they have plenty of places to stop along the way. I am 57 yrs old and not very athletic and I was able to do it.

We loved the hike to Anna Ruby Falls. The park was very busy, probably because we visited between Christmas and New Years, so we had to wait a bit to get into the gate, but it was worth it.
The hike to the falls was a paved track that was well maintained. Its a bit steep, but it's certainly doable for almost any fitness level.
Very nice stop!

We expected to view a great set of waterfalls at the top of the .4 mile trail, but we were shocked at its beauty. This falls is absolutely stupendous. About fifteen minutes from Helen.

It is 0.4 mile hike to the dueling falls. The trail is fully paved with cool natural benches to rest if necessary. The trail is mostly uphill. A family with an elderly lady on a cane made it to the falls.
The falls have spectacular view points built out on platforms. It does require stairs to get on the platforms but you can see the falls without climbing.
I was there early on a Tuesday and it was not crowded at all. My dog went with me and we had an enjoyable hike.
There is plenty of parking and bathrooms which are clean between parking and trail head.

We can see why this adventure is rated #1 to go see. Very beautiful steam as you walk up to the falls at the very top. Then you are treated to 3 waterfalls . Awesome to see and you will want to take lots of pictures. The lake in the State Park look like a fun place to swim and picnic also.

Visit if you are in Helen, GA. It was a short ride from our cabin.
This was a beautiful waterfall and worth seeing.

Well worth the hike. Even though it’s not a long hike it is pretty challenging due to the steep grade. The falls are beautiful.

Don’t miss this Gem, it’s worth, small hike, my 2 year & 4 year old walked the whole hike. It has lots of picturesque places, bridges and beautiful river,

We stopped here on our way into the town of Helen and this was such a wonderful activity. The hike was not long at all and the views at the top were amazing. Would definitely recommend if are in the area.

Twin falls are beautiful and worth the hike. It’s all paved and the last half is basically all incline but all ages can make it. U just may have to take a break or go slower. Don’t forget to bring cash. It’s $5 per adult and check the schedule. When I was there they were closing I think at 3 or 4 pm. Double check so u have plenty of time to enjoy it.

Not far out of Helen,Georgia, this is a must see experience. My wife and I are getting older so the walk to the falls was slow, all uphill. It was worth the effort for sure, stunningly beautiful! Two high volume waterfalls cascading down from the Chattahoochee National forest. All downhill coming back in this wonderful environment!

Rode up to Helen to see the fall foliage and finally made it to Anna Ruby Falls. It was the most beautiful walk to the falls that I have ever taken. It’s a .4 mile walk with nothing but streams and beauty. Cost 5 dollars per person but very worth it.

It was a nice little hike uphill! get ready to get a good leg workout! A must go to before leaving Helen!

Our National Park pass provided our admission. The hike was a little steep in places (most places LOL), but it was easily do-able for us 60 somethings. So well worth the effort! The falls are beautiful and so is the trail getting there. Just a great experience.

Great place to do some hiking that is not to strenuous. Nice waterfalls to see and get some pictures by it

Definitely worth the trip just to experience nature and the beautiful falls. We go quite often and are never disappointed. A great time for family bonding and making memories.

This is a nice paved walk up hill that took about 45 minutes, one way. There are several viewing platforms which make it easier to take pictures. Not too crowded for a Sunday in July.

Absolutely beautiful hike all the way up! Our 75yo mom was able to walk up the paved path with cane and a little help, taking little rests to read markers along the way. It was a cool hike from all the tree cover so no need for sunscreen or hats.

We loved Anna Ruby Falls! It’s a super short walk to a beautiful water fall. It’s a bit steep but so worth it! It was so easy to get our stroller to the falls with the paved path. The staff in the gift shop were so friendly and welcoming. Anna Ruby Falls is a must while visiting Helen!

Although mostly uphill, it is definitely worth the trip up to the waterfalls. It's absolutely beautiful! It's $5 per person and then a $5 parking fee for the state park day pass.

The falls were absolutely beautiful and there was a paved path up to it, through pretty woods. However, it should be noted that after about halfway, the path gets fairly steep, to the point where it is hard for older people (even in their 60s if they have any kind of heart, breathing, or health issues) to make it to the top. That was fairly disappointing since my husband had to wait on a bench, while I went to the top by myself. I don’t wish to deter anyone from going, but just thought people should be aware and be prepared.

It's a short but steep hike but the view is well worth it. It may take 20 -30 minutes to get up there. Enjoy the view along the way!!!

One of the easiest hikes to a falls I’ve completed. If you have a bad knee or hip I suggest taking a hiking stick to help with the few inclines.

I took a group on a trip to Helen and several folks were more muture in age but we told them to take their time and rest at the many benches along the way. I'm proud to say they all made it. Most of them agreed this was a highlight of the trip!

Paved path, 1/2 hour trek, not strenuous at all. Simply beautiful. Cute gift shop for all ages as well.

The hike for me and my husband was moderate for us at times, but doable. The hike to and from the falls is so peaceful and beautiful with the flowing creek and cascades along the way. There is seating along the way to rest if needed or to just take in the views. The falls are gorgeous and have two viewing decks and plenty of seating areas to enjoy the view.

I was a long walk up a paved trail. Up is the key word for those with bad joints or weight issues. There were some benches to rest at. Beautiful scenery, beautiful river/falls. The top of the hike is worth it.

Beautiful falls, huge platform to stand and admire from, worth visiting! (People may not realize there are cabins right outside the entrance gate of the falls, they will sometimes speed in that area. Not cool, small kids/families walk across that road to go look at the stream on the other side. Please remember to drive slowly and watch for people walking! )

This is a great waterfall to visit in under an hour. It's beautiful and the access is easy. It is paved but does have a steep incline. It's about 15 minutes up and 15 back. There is a nice gift shop there too. The last entry is 4 pm. There is a $5 fee for each adult. Check out their website for younger kids.

Short hike (less than a mile round trip) but well worth it. The falls are beautiful, the path is paved and kids & animals will also enjoy it.

Seeing the falls was always something my wife wanted to do. So, we tightened up our hiking shoes and hit the trail. It’s a small hike with some physically demanding stretches, but it is all worth it!
Things to note:
-it’s $5 per person per car
-military ID gets four people in for free
-it’s approx half mile hike (wear proper shoes)
-going up can be strenuous; going down isn’t nearly as taxing
-things to bring: camera, water bottle, someone to enjoy the view with
Enjoy!!

Overall it was a well maintained area and trails. Great nature views all the way to the falls. Parts of the path could be challenging for some but should be possible for most with a little assistance. Definitely worth the walk.

Not crowded, beautiful waterfalls. Very peaceful and walk was not terrible going to top. The ligs left where they fell across the river.

The views were outstanding. But beware, this is a steep climb. I am a heart patient and couldn't quite make it to the top.

Nice steep hike to the falls, store at the bottom and another small trail. $5 a person is too much, but pretty nonetheless. Nice and cool up at the top.

We loved visiting this place. Amazing views and great walks. The store is very good. The staff nice and friendly. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Do not miss this place when you visit Helen

If in Helen GA this is a hidden gem. Only a few minute drive the a 15-20 minute scenic hike to the falls.
Note there is a small $3 fee per person.

Priced great, restrooms were clean. Drink machine, welcome center. Walk area very clean, going up a little steep but manageable. Falls were worth the walk. Pet friendly.

Wow!!!!! Absolutely breath taking!!! We came to Helen as a day trip and decided to do this after visiting BabyLand! We had kids ranging from ages 2 to 9 and we were all able to hike up to the top to see the Falls! The boardwalk and paved pathways really help also!!! Highly recommend!!!!!

The falls are beautiful! You walk on a paved path up to the falls. They have couple platforms to take pictures or just view the natural falls! It is easy walk but does go on small incline to the falls. There is another trail up top on right you can take but takes you to other side and does not loop around to parking lot. That trail is not paved.

Gorgeous Falls! The walk was short and paved, but it was all uphill on the way to the falls, with the second half being considerably steeper. Obviously, that made the walk back to the parking lot that much easier! Like I mentioned, the path is wide and paved, with plenty of resting benches along the way. Very well-maintained path, observation decks, and bridges.
Beautiful
Steep walk up over half mile, there are benches but saw many turn back. Entrance fee is up to 5$ pp. Very nice area take time to enjoy surrounding park to.
