Guide was excellent. Knew his history. I have already told family and friends all that I learned there. Learned how tunnel was built to drain water from mines that was much more than individual mines trying to bucket the water out. Also, learned about how mercury and arsenic was used to get the gold from the lower grade rock.

This tour was very interesting and our guide Dillon was a wealth of knowledge. We will definitely be back with our kiddos!

Our tour guide was awesome. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Safety protocols were very good and helped me relax and enjoy the experience.

Dillon was very informative and interactive with the group. Made the tour enjoyable for all ages. Being taught to pan for gold at the end of tour was fun.

Our Family had a wonderful time. We learned so much from our tour guide Dillon. He was very patient with us while we were panning for gold. He taught us the tricks of the trade. I highly suggest stopping by the Argo Mill Tour while in Idaho Springs.

My 10 year old daughter and I went. A fun, "not typical" day trip to go on over her fall break. Highly recommend it for families.

Our kids yearn for the mines, so we took a trip to the Argo in Idaho Springs. We learned quite a bit of history, went through the mine tour, and then we panned for gold and gems. It was a nice, fun little family trip!

Lots of history here. Tour guide Willow was very informative and entertaining. Took just a little over an hour. There is bonus panning for gold at the end!

My family had such a great time on this tour. The guide was informative and did a great job keeping my three kids aged 12, 9 and 5 engaged. We all learned something and had a great time panning for gold at the end of the tour!

Andrew was just amazing. His knowledge of everything was magnificent. We were lucky enough to have a private tour and boy was that worth it. He answered all our questions and went above and beyond in explaining in detail. He was fun and entertaining, definitely worth the trip! Thanks again!

A great tour! Anna was our tour guide and did a spectacular job. The mill and mine are fascinating, extraordinary history, as well as environmental issues are well explained.
We even panned for gold. Eureka!

I have done the Argo tour before and had such a great experience I had to bring my friends back. Our tour guide Stevie was amazing and had yet again another great experience. Would highly recommend!!

The receptionist was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and accommodating with our situation - we had our dogs and they were not allowed on the trip. She worked it out so my wife could see the beginning and end of the tour. Great tour and an awesome experience!

Very cool historical tour of the mill and tunnel. Tour guide was very knowledgeable (make sure to tip them!). It amazes me that a lot of the mill structure is still intact considering it's mostly wooden!

Everyone was very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. I just wish I had more time to look at everything. It’s absolutely fascinating!

The guide was informative and we learned a lot about the area and the mine. I would recommend if you are in the area and into learning about the history of mining and the lasting effects it can have on a community.

We had a great time! Staff was knowledgeable and we loved panning for gold. Wearing helmets and going into the tunnel really made the stories come to life.

We took our grandkids and everyone had a great time from the tour through the mill to panning for gold and gems. All staff members were so kind.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun. She answered everyone’s questions even the ridiculous. It was the last tour of the day and weather wasn’t cooperating, but our guide still took her time and kept us well informed.

Such interesting info and our guide was awesome. The right amount of humor with information and the right level to be easily understood.

I took a group of 4-6 graders here after studying the gold rush! It was awesome! They had a great time. It was easy, informative, and the gold panning was perfect!

This is an interesting place. The panning for gold was the best part. The tour of the mine was very limited. The guide was nice.

Excellent tour with friendly guide well worth the trip. Gold panning good fun with guaranteed real gold to take home. Small shop with souvenirs.

very interesting stuff to learn.
definitely better than average tourist trap.
can be a little muddy in some areas, be prepared

I went to Argo with my family visiting from out of town. It was a great experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this for other people to check out!

The tour was so fun! Very in depth information and we got to see the whole mill with the machinery that was used during the gold rush. Everything felt frozen in time. We even got to pan for gold at the end!

Informative particularly on the use of children and women in the history of the mill. The guide knew her topic. Interesting to hear gold mining may resume.

Just took my family from Texas for a tour, took one last month as well, and each tour got better and better! I learned so much on the first tour and it blew my mind that I learned equally as much on the second tour. Both tour guides were absolutely phenomenal 🩷💗🩷 they were incredibly accommodating and compassionate to the different needs of each tour. I look forward to bringing more family to the Argo as they arrive from different parts of the country. The argo has truly been a golden experience for us in Colorado 💗🩷💗 along with the gold I panned!!!!

I took my brother here while he was visiting Colorado from the East coast. We really loved the tour! I learned parts of Colorado history that were completely new to me. Tommy was a great tour guide - super knowledgeable and had a great dry sense of humor. Highly recommend!

Second time and as great as the first. Very fun informative without the constant dumb jokes that seem to be a thing at most Colorado cave tours.

We thought we would have a longer tour in the mine. It lasted less than 5 minutes. The tour information was misleading and even said to bring a jacket since it would be cold down in the mine but this was totally not needed. We only went a very short distance in the tunnel.

Super informative! Kept the 11 year old entertained as well! Cute gift shop too! Beautiful drive from Denver and easy parking.

Our winter ski trip always begins with a stop at the Argo Mine. We've done the tour before but now when we drive through we always stop to pan for gold and gems. This visit we met Erin and she was phenomenal!!! Erin knew everything about the mine/panning and then some. She worked hand in hand with the kids showing them exactly how to get all of the gold and gems from the pan and boxes. Not only is it educational it is FUN! I highly recommend everyone to visit the Argo Mine either for a mine tour or just to learn how to pan for gold (and keep what you find!)

The history of the Argo mill and tunnel is fascinating! It's a perfect example of the technological advances during the Industrial Revolution. The tour was very educational. Our guide was great, very knowledgeable, and entertaining at the same time.

This was such an educational and entertaining experience! Our guide was HILARIOUS! I enjoyed it so much, I had to run across the street to pull out some money to tip. Very friendly staff. Would recommend 100xs!

Allii was our tour guide, and she MADE the tour. It was an interesting step back to another time. Panning for gold for the first time was also fun.

Great tour about the history of the Gold Rush and the mine. Amazing to see the mill and most of the original milling equipment.

This mine has been closed since the forties after a devastating flood. However, you can still tour it, walk inside part of the mine, and through the mill. The tour guide was full of information, and it was cool to be able to visit a place like this and learn how much a part of the community it was. Nikola Tesla did the electric work for this mine back in the day, and they let you touch his handy work. You get to wear hard hats and pan for gold. The kids on the tour really seemed to enjoy it. I recommend! As long as you know you won't be going deep into a mine. Still worthwhile, and very photogenic.

Was kinda a last minute booking but delighted we found it! Great historical tour with interesting and thorough info. Our guide, Erin, was fun and very engaging. It even included gold panning instruction at the end. Very cool tour!

This was a great experience! I really enjoyed the history of the gold mine and the gold mine operations from the past. The number of artifacts from the mining days and the condition of the mill was amazing. I'd highly recommend this!

Our guide, Brianna, was very knowledgeable and could vividly describe the mining process that occurred at Argo. Our group was turned away at another mine (one guide barely coherent and the other sleeping), but after the wonderful experience at Argo we were glad they did!

So much history in these mountains to learn about! The tour guide Dylan was amazing! Very knowledgeable, funny and friendly. Lots of good exercise going through the mill too!

Dan was an excellent tour guide for our group.
He had done his research and provided lots of good information. We were unaware of any history about the mine so we learned a lot.

Was hoping for more of a mine tour and instead it was mostly just about the old mill and machinery. The guide was good but the matter was less than expected. Not geared to young children.

Brianna was a great tour guide! I've been to several mines and this was a whole new and interesting experience. Learning about the milling process was super cool.
This is definitely a great way to spend an hour - even my six year old was listening (which is high praise - he rarely listens to me)!

Our tour guide, Dillon, was so much fun and so knowledgeable. Our preteen even gave praise on the great vibes he brought to the tour and how he made learning interesting and fun. He remembered my kids names and the experience was something we will all remember. We all loved golf-panning at the end of the tour too! Being able to explore and take pictures of Argo, a piece of Colorado history, was awesome. Can’t wait to see the gondola in the near future.

Great tour guide! Extremely knowledgeable. Took my 8 year old grand son and he loved the entire experiences. Plan to take other grandkids when they come to visit.

Dylan was an upbeat, knowledgeable tour guide! He made the tour engaging and fun. As longtime Colorado residents, we felt like we learned a lot. Highly recommend.

Great tour and great tour guide. A fun activity for all ages (though some walking and going down steep steps required). Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike, a lot of interesting history about CO to be learned!

Our tour guide was by far the best part. Dylan/Dillon knew so many details about the history or the mill and mining in Colorado. Tours tend to get a little boring sometimes but not this one :-) Such an entertaining history lesson!

The tour was amazing. Erin did a fantastic job, she shared amazing information and had us laughing and engaged the entire time. Highly recommend.

Learned a lot about the history of the mine and mill. Our guide was great answering questions and providing facts about the mine.

Our tour guide was amazing! 10 out 10 she was kind and very funny! The tour was very educational and I would go again. Bring water!

Very interesting and friendly tour. A good way to learn about this very interesting period and part of US history.

I am a Colorado native and never knew the history about this mine and the importance to the State. Interesting, historical and informative. The guide was a delight.

Our guide was amazing! We liked all the history without the rainbow stories and the reality of this era with facts . Whort the price. We had an amazing time.

They are open until 5:00 but stop giving tours at 3:00. We arrived at 3:30 and were not able to take a tour. It was disappointing having driven over an hour and a half to the location.

Our tour guide was so much fun. She was super smart and funny, too. Very knowledgeable and interesting, we had a great time!!!

Stevie was the best tour guide, very knowledgeable and personable.
Great site for locals and tourists, worth the price. Took about an hour

Great experience with our family! Cool to learn the history about the mine and the town. Our guide was excellent. Kids really enjoyed panning for gold.

Booking online was very easy and done the morning of our tour.
Our tour guide, Stevie (?) was awesome and very informative!

We appreciated the efforts being taken to preserve this important part of Colorado History. Our guide did a great job reinforcing our 6-year old's interest in geology and mining. The tour might be improved with more detail about methods of milling (i.e. stamp vs. ball milling) and noting the actual stamp machine below the Mill before starting the actual tour.

Impressive industrial heritage. Our tour guide Dylan’s passion for all things mining was palpable. The actual visit to the tunnel was shorter than we expected, but provided a good insight anyway.

Uncle Kevin gave us a master class in mining history touring the Argo Mill.
It's an awesome memory making place for the family. After the tour, gold panning!
Where we were shown how the process of placer mining was done.
Came out with several pieces of gold!!
Watching children discover gold in their pan is priceless as their excitement is on full display!
Thanks to the crew and citizens that make this kind of unique history, entertainment, and learning possible.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful experience at the Argo! Our tour guide Dylon was amazing. Having 3 small children was a little tricky, but Dylon made us feel very welcome and involved. Luckily our tour group was small (we went at 10am on a Wednesday). The kids had a blast at the end when they got to find rocks and gold flakes in the sifters. They were more interested in the rocks, for sure. We loved hearing about the history of the Argo. The kids enjoyed it as well. I would say, if you have small children, be prepared to have a carrier of some sort. There’s lots of walking around and stairs in one part of the tour. Strollers would be a no go.

Great piece of history and knowledgeable guide. No, you don't go deep into the tunnel(it was sealed off for environmental and safety reasons decades ago), but you get to understand why, and the mill tour is great.

Our guide Dillon did a fantastic job. He was very informative and made learning the history of the mine very entertaining. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone able to walk on uneven ground and able to walk downstairs.

Patty was our tour guide and she was fantastic. She was also very good with my children on the tour. My kids and I enjoyed the panning for gld at tthe end of the tour as well.

Extremely fun experience. Went with my grandsons they Absolutely loved it. The tour guide was phenomenal. All the staff was super friendly. Fun family day out

Excellent guide. You only actually go into a very small bit of the Argo tunnel. The tour is mostly about the mill that processed the gold and other minerals but was very interesting and our guide was very informative. We had a good traditional breakfast in Marion’s before which was excellent. We had panning for gold lessons and a go at it ourselves which was good (in troughs outside, so no worries about doing it at the side of a river!). We all managed to pan a few ti y bits of gold too.

I live in Denver and have driven by many times and finally stopped for this tour -- glad I did! A really good overview of the history and the process involved at that time. Uncle Keith was an excellent tour guide -- professional, fun, knowledgeable, and really took an interest in the group and our interests.

Nick was our guide and I would have thought he grew up in the mine. He was very informative. Answered all of our questions. It was fascinating. Enjoyed every second.

Evan was an excellent tour guide and the entire experience was extremely fascinating. Learning how to plan for gold was also a nice touch.

It was cool to learn about the tunnel and get to go inside as deep as we can. The tour of the mill was also interesting, to see how people used to work inside this building I’ve seen from the highway so many times and never stopped! Panning for gold at the end of the tour was also a unique experience!

This tour was very informative and interesting! It was amazing to see the ingenuity of early miners! Our tour guide, Erin, was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor! We highly recommend touring the Argo mine!

It was a really hot day and we thought this would be a cooler activity because the website talked about it being 60 ° in the tunnel. We thought we would’ve been down there longer, but was only in there for a couple minutes. The rest of the tour was either in a Stuffy building with no air or outside in the direct sunlight.

Great tour and very informative. The guide did a superb job of capturing the essence of the mines in the early 1900’s. Highly recommend this tour for all ages and the gold panning topped off a great tour.

it was very interesting and guide was sweet. We didn't get to pan because of rain. nobody can control the weather. It was still fun and enjoyable.

We arrived to our tour and the tour began promptly. Our tour guide was well informed and led us through the tour with a positive attitude. When we got to our panning experience, the tour guide waited for us to finish without pressuring us to go quickly. The store clerk also patiently waited for us to finish our shopping even though we were the last ones in the store before closing.

The tour was incredible! Very informative and fun. I highly recommend for anyone looking for something to do in the Denver area!

We had a great guide, she was very knowledgeable and passionate. I actually went on the tour 2 days in a row and had a different guide the first time. Decided to take the family back and was super grateful for Britany, she kept the kids interested as well as us adults. Great experience overall.

Argo mine tour is an enlightening experience. We learned much about the history and processing of the ore and how it integrated into the history of Idaho Springs. Our guide made it knowledgeable and fun .

It was a nice experience. The staff was very friendly and always very willing to answer questions! It was really nice to go!

Fun and informative tour. Enjoyed learning the history of the business and process. The guide was informative and engaging. Will bring other visitors when the gondolas are installed.

Very informative tour. It was too windy and cold for gold panning, but they sent us home with dirt and instructions for panning - nice touch!

We learned a lot from our tour of the Argo. Our tour guide told us the history along with how it is being preserved today with help from the EPA.

Our tour guide Stevie was great. Knowledgeable, funny, down to earth, twisted, and cute AF!!!
Would recommend this adventure

What an informative and interesting tour! Stevi was fantastic and shared many stories of her family's history with the mine.

Very interesting. Our tour guide was great. Full of stories on how the mill operated. I was surprised at how well the mill was preserved.

Very educational and informative. Patty made the tour even better ! We were the last tour of the day but she let us take our time and answered all our questions.

Very cool tour, lots of info. Dan our tour guide very knowledgeable, answered every question.and did an excellent job. We really enjoyed it.

Evan was awesome! Thanks for having my friends and I :) being from the East coast I would have never experienced anything like this.

Very knowledgeable and friendly tour of a fascinating part of American history.
I am glad to not have been a miner in those days!

It was very informative and so historical! The tour guide was amazing! The only downside was I was hoping to literally chip away in the mine for gold, but it was just a controlled panning.

Best mine tour I've been on in Colorado. It is a bit on the pricey side for a family but worth it! Rich and comprehensive history, at a beautiful location. It not only highlights the grit of miners and their families but also the harsh realities of the industry and its ecological effects.

We were too late for the tour, but were still able to mine for gold. The guides were helpful and encouraging and we felt like we could really take our time and enjoy ourselves.

We were only visiting the area for a couple of days on our way to Kansas City but a local server recommended we tour it. I don't know a lot about mines or the gold rush so I didn't know what to expect but it was neat to really walk into this part of Colorado history. It's almost unthinkable to me. Willow was our tour guide, and she was so knowledgeable and friendly even with my chatterbox kids. Definitely enthusiastic about local history and the science of this stuff. I recommend it!

We had a great time at the Argo Mill tour. Our guide was very informed and shared a lot of great information! there were lots of interesting things to see.

This tour was so cool! Erin, our guide was informative, welcoming, and WONDERFUL with kids. We were on a Colorado vacation and this was unanimously a favorite stop amongst our kids (ages 9-1)!! If you’re anywhere near Idaho Springs, this is a must do!

Had a blast with this tour! The people are so friendly and knowledgeable about the history of this historic venue. Amazing views, plenty of photo ops and panning for gold at the end of it all was the best! Highly recommended.

We were the only ones on the first tour of the day. The guide was interesting and very knowledgeable. Had a great time panning for gold

This was an interesting tour. I had no idea the history of the red building I had drive past so many times. It was amazing to see the original structures. We had a good time.

The tour guide was awesome and so informative while not sugar coating history but being honest and looking at how it has shaped the world and impact the future

The Argo Mine tour in Idaho Springs is a cool experience that offers a glimpse into Colorado’s rich mining history. Our guide was engaging and knowledgeable, making the tour both informative and fun. Walking into the tunnel, seeing how the gold was extracted and processed, and seeing authentic mining equipment was fascinating. The gold panning activity was a fun way to end the tour. Whether you're a history buff or just curious, this well-preserved site is worth the visit. The tour is not too long so there's plenty of time to explore the area. There's a great hiking trail you can take alongside the mill. The tour + a hike + lunch on Miner St in Idaho Springs make for a fun day.

it was too quick and the guide was not well enough informed i looked up more information afterwords on the internet i think much more history would have been useful

Fun and very educational - the tour guide was super fun - my kids thought it was super cool - would have been cool to go deeper in the tunnel but it's not an option due to the "spicy water". The gold panning was fun. Very worth the drive and time in the mnts.

Our guide was fantastic - I can’t remember her name ( tour was at 1:00 on 5/23). You could tell she was very passionate about the mill/mine history and we left there with knowledge and understanding of what life was like back when it was operational. Highly recommend the tour!

Very interesting and learned a lot on mining. Had a great experience and suggest it to anyone interested in how a mine works.

Very interesting learning about the mine and the mill’s history but was a little disappointed in how far you actually get to walk into the mine.

We had a very beautiful day! Our tour guide was awsome! The teenagers we have actually had a blast. They were even impressed that they panned for actual gold to keep. So cool!! Thank you

The guide was all over the place there wasn’t any organization in giving what little information he could provide. There was no flow in presenting the mining operations Many stories of miners which is fine but we went for the mining process way too disjointed

The history of the Mill and Tunnel is very interesting. However, you can only go about 100 yards into the tunnel. It is blocked off. The mill is a very old structure and a little difficult to navigate if you have any trouble with walking or balance. At the end of the tour, you can "pan for gold". You get a small bag of sand with 2 very small flakes of gold for you to pan.

We didn’t do the full tour so can’t comment on that. We did the gold panning and gem stone experience with our children (early teen/tween). It was $28 in total. It’s not remotely authentic. They give you a pot of grit with a few flecks of gold in, to pan in a trough of water. Every bag has some gold in. The gemstone experience involves picking large gems out of a pot of gravel - not something very interesting for children older than around 7/8.

We had a really nice in-depth tour at a great pace. Our guide was really nice and explained everything really well and was approachable to questions. We also had as much time as we needed panning at the end. I really liked how everything was low key and not rushed. My teenagers are still talking about it, especially as we did the self tour in Leadville of the abandoned towns and mines. The information we received at Argo helped us understand what we saw at that location. I would highly recommend!

Difficult to write review because of age differences within tour group- very educational for adults, not engaging for 5 and 6 year olds. They enjoyed panning for gems and identifying what they had found. Expected longer tunnel experience but you have to work with what you have

Absolutely life changing. If you’re an avid fan of mining culture like me and my friends this is the place to go. The harsh winds added an immersive experience that cannot be replicated. We pan mined for gold and struck an absolute jackpot of 3 flakes each. I couldn’t ask for a better CO trip! #MightyARGO

Our grandsons, age 10 and 8, really enjoyed the tour. They were very attentive and interested in looking at all the museum items. Panning for gold at the end of the tour was fun too.

Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. Very interesting tour full of history and fun facts. Loved panning for gold.

I’m not a huge tour person, but my husband loves history, so I thought this might be a good one to try while we were enjoying a getaway to Idaho Springs. We both really enjoyed it. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable, and the tour itself was very interesting. I learned a lot You’re spending most your time outside, so definitely wear layers.

It was great! The tour was fun and informative. It was interesting to leant about the history of mining in the area and of Colorado.

The history of the mine and story telling of our guide Tommy was fantastic. Panning for gold was fun and we actually left with a couple of flakes. Would recommend the tour.

This was a wonderfully informative tour of the gold mine tunnel and the gold processing mill. Our guide Tommy was very knowledgeable and funny. It was not a busy day and our group was small, which made it very personal. We enjoyed the entire tour which took a little over an hour and ended with a short demonstration on panning for gold. After that, all of the guests received a pan of sediment and we proceeded pan for gold. Don’t skip this! It was a fun way to end the tour because we each found gold and were given a small bags so we could take it home. Can’t say enough good things about this tour and the fact that they are working so hard to preserve this huge piece of Colorado history.

Interesting and nice visit the final activity that explains how they sifted x search for gold.
Within walking distance if staying in Idaho Springs.

The tour was an interesting history of mining, and our guide's knowledge helped you understand what a miner's life was like back in that era.

Very informative and interesting. The gift shop is nice and the employees are very courteous. Best to do it during the warmest months. We did on 1/13 and it was really cold, snow storm we had to walk instead of being transported on the van up the hill.

We had a great time on this tour! Our tour guide was awesome and so informative. The history of the mill and mining era was fascinating, especially how innovative this mill was in that time period! It was interesting to both adults and children, alike! And mining for gold is harder than you think!

The woman guide was so funny and very informative! I loved her! You see real steel from Pittsburg and how the water pressure bent it! So cool! Loved every second!

Our tour guide was amazing. He was very knowledgeable. We discovered so much.
Clerks were so kind and helpful. Loved our panning for golf.

Very nice tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Learned a lot about historic gold ore processing and the miners' working conditions. I would recommend the tour to anyone visiting Idaho Springs.

We toured the Argo Gold Mine and the experience was delightful, informative and filled with fun facts and laughs...thanks to our wonderful tour guide Andrew.
Andrew used his geology background with a quick-witted sense of humor to inform and entertain all the guests in our group.

What a wonderful tour and full of history. Been driving by the Argo Mill for years and wondered what this big red building was. Finally stayed in Idaho Springs and so glad we did. Town is amazing and tourer was worth it.

Our tour guide was great! She was awesome with all of the kids on the tour as well! The kids had fun learning to pan for gold at the end.

Dillon was knowledgeable of the mine and its history. He educated us in the geology of the area and his own experiences in mining. The mine is well preserved with much of the original machinery and equipment still in place. There are multiple photos and documents including the handwritten payroll.

I had a very fun time seeing and learning about the history here. And our guide was very professional, kind, and fun. I would return to show other family members the Argo.

We loved everything! The guide was super nice. We couldn't make it on time and they called us to reschedule later that day. 100% recommended.

Great tour, would come again! We learned a lot and loved panning for gold. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed ourselves very much! Fun yet informational tour. Currently recovering from a surgery and the tour was manageable as well.

Interesting history that is still relevant. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The panning for gold was quite fun.

We had an amazing time visiting the Argo Mine! Our tour guide, Dillon, was fantastic—witty, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating stories. Panning for gold was an absolute blast, and we even found some!
One of the highlights was when Dillon showed us the renderings for the new gondola and venues they’re working on—so exciting to see the future plans. We can’t wait to come back next year to experience it again and check out all the new improvements.
I highly recommend visiting now to enjoy the rich history and fun activities, and then coming back after the renovations are complete for a whole new experience. Truly worth the trip!

The tour was not at all what I expected. The cost was not at all equal to the value, and I feel it is overpriced. Although our guide was informative the tour itself was sadly lacking and disappointing. I honestly cannot recommend this tour.

Awesome tour! Super interesting and our guide was chalk full of knowledge. I would highly recommend!

Such a cool tour and adventure! Great guide and tons of interesting information and history. Left me wanting to learn even more, we may go again! 🔥

Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Did a fantastic job of being informative and entertaining! So much history to learn and it was really cool hearing about all the inner workings of the mine and mill.

Fun day trip and tour for Denver guest wanting to get out of the city for the day. Interesting experience for the family to see a historical site and understand the unique story of the mine.

Ther were 7 of us including two children. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy his work. We learned the history of the mill and tunnel. Also, he talked about the affected health of an average worker in a dangerous environment. A bonus is the fun of panning for gold. I would recommend the tour to individuals with average physical abilities.

Interesting tour. Tour guide was very engaging. Plenty of opportunity for pictures- Wish the size of the group was smaller-but still was enjoyable.

Enjoyed the history, tour, and panning for GOLD! The tour guide was fantastic with the kids. The mine shaft was cool. The cost to time ratio was economic.

Patty’s knowledge on Argo history was amazing!! She was kind, and allowed the group to take their time with photo ops and questions.

The view from the mine was incredible and the experience was unbelievably informative. The history of the mine was nicely and informatively told.

Very interesting historical tour and does not obscure the environmental and personal damage of the mining process, topped off with some panning for gold at the end. Close to Mount Evans to make an easy day trip from Denver.

We had driven by ARGO Mill and Tunnel many times without stopping. Our 11 year old grandson was with us and decided to make a special trip to Idaho Springs and the ARGO mill. It was worth the hour and 15 minutes experience to learn about the history and how to pan for gold. Our grandson got the most gold in his pan and was very delighted with his find. If you are interested in western history you may find this an educational and fun experience.

Very knowledgeable guide who provided historical context and a great overview of gold mining. Panning at the end was a fun experience!

Excellent! Very informative and friendly staff. Panning for gold was a bonus. Great gift shop, reasonably priced. Thank you!

Erin was our tour guide and was so knowledgeable and fun! It was a great tour. I would definitely recommend for a family. The stairs were steep so I would not recommend if you have issues with stairs. I do not know if there was an alternative for those people. It was fun to find gold at the end as well!!!

Really great time. Cool history. Evan was a stellar tour guide, knew his stuff, great energy. Ladies at the front very sweet too.

Excellent history lesson for all ages! The Gold Rush is a topic that sparks all interests. Learning how the boom started and the part that Argo played was very interesting. It's a decent time frame for a tour - not too long and not too short.

The argo mine has and amazing preserved history. We loved our tour and would do it again! Our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. We had ages 81 to 12 and they all loved it.

Awesome tour. Our guide was young, but she was extremely knowledgeable.
I highly reccomend the tour!

A very interesting tour - you really get an idea of how the mining and milling process was done during the Gold Rush and then you get to pan for gold at the end. I can't wait to come back with my son!

This was really interesting! We have 3 elementary age kids, and they all enjoyed it as well. We learned a lot, and the kids loved panning for gold at the end too.

We were hoping to learn a bit about mining and the impact the mill had on the industry and region.
We learned virtually nothing. There were just random facts thrown at us and no cohesive lesson. The guide spoke too fast, and we left feeling like it was the only true waste of money from our nearly month-long trip.
It wasn’t worth $5/head let alone the hefty price they charge!

Very nice, and fun tour! Great guide and very interesting things to see in the mine and mill. Very cool to actually pan gold, which you get to take home!

Cool place. Highly interesting and educational. The tour leader was very knowledgeable about the mill and thr surrounding area. Neat town to go along with it.

The experience was great! The tour guide was absolutely expert! He knew everything about the Argo and mining history.
The only suggestion would be to mic up the guides. There were many occasions where I was in the back, or trying to catch up with the group, and I couldn't hear him.
For example, in front of the tunnel at the filtration system, I couldn't hear him because of the running water.
I would look into portable audio technology, or blue tooth speakers situated in strategic areas. That would make the experience 100% better!

Our tour guide Dan was friendly & informative. Interesting to learn about the processing of the ore Learned so much! The town of Idaho Springs is livey & worth a visit after!

The ARGO mill and tunnel is a really cool historical site. Seeing the way people worked in a place like that really gave me a positive perspective on my own job and struggles. The tour guide was very friendly, she helped to keep my kids safe but still let them be kids. I would recommend

Very interesting tour! We learned so much about the history of the gold mine and mill by walking into the tunnel, through the mill, and around the property. There are so many cool artifacts and photos from back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. This is a really great way to get to know what the Colorado gold rush was all about. Everyone got to pan for gold at the end of the tour, too. Definitely a great place to visit with or without kids. Loved it!

This was so fun! The kids loved panning for gold at the end and the adults loved learning about the history of mining in Colorado.

It was very informative, interesting, and super fun! Our guide was super nice and the employees inside were just as nice and helpful. Don’t forget to collect your small rocks from pan mining too as some of them are gems!

We fully enjoyed the Argo Mine tour. It was so interesting to hear about the history of mining. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did his job well!

Thoroughly enjoyable tour, very informative, very interesting, different from 'regular mine tours' the mill is excellent. Our tour guide was fun, well informed and friendly.

Great tour. Highly recommended Very informative and interesting Good for adults and kids and families

This was an excellent field trip to take my 3rd grade class on as part of our CO history unit. They loved it and learned so much about mining and the life of a miner

We learned so much on this tour, it was fascinating. I wish I would have done it sooner, can't believe we have driven by hundreds of times and had no idea the history of the area. Would absolutely recommend!

Fun experience learning about the old goldmine and being able to pan for gold at end of tour! We all had a great time! Gift shop had a lot of cool rocks and souvenirs

So much fun, for the kids & adults! We learned a great deal and its a true hands on experience. Situated right in the heart of Idaho Springs

We had a great experience with Uncle Keith. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and had lots of fun facts to share. Our 6-year-old loved the gold panning and gem panning at the end!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining! He had great interaction with the kids on the tour, and answered any/all questions that were asked. Offering suggestions for lunch/drinks afterwards was a great help!

Erin was a great tour guide. We are a family of three with a 9-yr old. We learned a lot and enjoyed the tour.

Our guide Willow was super nice and knowledgeable! She answered all of our questions.
The tour was informative, more interactive than I thought. We love history and stuff like this. It was a perfect stop before we headed home.
The gold panning at the end was so fun!! We each had a little gold to take home.

The mill tour was interesting and informative. Our tour guide was very good. The only disappointment was not being able to go further into the mine shaft. Seeing just the bulkhead wasn’t very interesting. Overall we enjoyed the facility, though.

Wonderful. Very informative! And friendly. Could ask all the questions with no hesitation. It was wonderful to be able to explore ideas and have real facts to go off of.

Was a really great experience for kids and adults. The history of the mind and the mill was so interesting. It's more than it appears from the outside.

The tour was really informative, and fun seeing the old equipment and buildings. You can see there is significant effort being made to restore the site.

This was a great visit! They discuss the history of the mine. They tell you about the process of collecting gold and unsafe working conditions of the time. It was very informative and interesting!

Great tour guide. Really interesting history, she gave a really good impression of life in those days and how industry works.

Very interesting story of the ARGO mine and the people who worked there. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and all of the answers to questions.

It was great! It doesn’t really go into the tunnel because you can’t but the explanation of the milling process was great!

The tour guide was amazing. Hate that I forgot his name but he was great with my 4 year old and very patient. He was younger and I belive has been there a short time. We did the 3pm tour. He had a great way of telling the history and bring it to life. We will definitely be back. Thank you!!

We had the most amazing tour of the Argo Mill and Tunnel with our kids (aged 16, 13 and 9). Tommy was the best tour guide and has a wealth of information, making the tour so engaging and interactive! It’s clear that the he is passionate about gold mining and the history behind Argo and the region more broadly.
I would recommend this to anyone looking to have a hands-on experience with history! We especially loved the panning for gold activity - it was the perfect ending to a perfect experience!
Thank you Erin and Tommy at Argo!

My friend and I last minute decided to take the last tour of the day and we had a wonderful time! Our tour guide was awesome. Very nice, knowledgeable and happy to take all the time and answer every question. I can’t remember his name, he had dark-ish blonde hair and glasses and was did the last tour on 10/12/25! I think the ticket price was fair and hope that it helps keep the tours going! Would highly recommend and I will definitely be back with more people to experience it!

We had an amazing time on our tour of the Argo Gold Mill! We learned so much about the gold milling process and the rich history of the site. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate which really added to our experience. Was very fun to pan for gold at the end of the tour too; really added hands- on learning to the experience.

Be sure to watch I-70 traffic, we arrived 10 mins late to our tour, they offered a later tour that day. We couldn't go later, so we were out the money for the tour. Don't book ahead if unsure.

Very interesting tour. A lot of information about the mine, the area and the whole mining industry.
If you are in the area this is a must. Our guide was very knowledgeable , the tour take about 60 minutes, you get to see the mill and the mine ( a small portion of an aprox 5 miles tunnel who used to connect all the mines in the area).

The tour was not only informative but fun. My family and I really enjoyed it. We are not from Colorado so we didn't know a lot about the mines.

Our tour guide Tommy was so knowledgeable! There was so much interesting Colorado and mining history. If you're traveling I70, I think this is a must stop for a 1 hour break from traffic and a great experience.

My husband absolutely enjoyed this tour. My teenagers were a bit bored as to be expected. It was really windy and cold outside, didn't realize we would be in a drafty old building but it was still comfortable for the most part. Dress warm if going in winter. Our tour guide loved his job and shared tons of information. We were on the tour by ourselves so it was a nice, intimate tour.

Excellent tour, led by a knowledgeable guide who was also great with the children on the tour. The industrial history here is fascinating. It's the best-preserved large ore mill anywhere.
Two cautions: We went on a hot, sunny day. Light clothing and a hat, and a bottle for water were essential. Fill your bottle free at the drinking fountain before the tour. Second, there's lots of stairs, but they're all downhill.

Great experience in gold mine, guide was clear and loud and explained everything clearly at last we can extract very small amount of gold from sand which is good and front desk lady was informative

Amazing experience. Will want to come back every time I am in Idaho springs. My boyfriend enjoy it and was amazed it was only 45 mins away

Our tour guide Andrew was great! He was very knowledable, passionate about the history of the Mill, and made the experience great! We learned so much not just about the site but also about the historical culture of the town. Highly recommend this tour!

Our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge. The building is well preserved and very interesting. I highly recommend taking this tour to learn about the history and the current steps towards environmental cleanup and preservation of the historic structure.

Tommy did a great job as our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Alot of fun and interesting

So informative, interesting and hands on! It feels a bit like time travel to see the mine and mill first hand. Uncle Keith was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and so kind. Could not recommend more!

Our guide had extensive knowledge of the history of the mill and tunnel and shared it clearly to my tour group. The mill is kept in great visiting condition. I really enjoyed learning about the science of mining, like how the asseyer determined the value of gold per load.

Did the tour with my two kiddos, 5 and 7. Patty, the guide, explained things so well, and in a way that really engaged them. They were asking questions and really thinking about what they were seeing. Highly recommend!

We toured the Argo Mill and Tunnel as a family. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. It was a great way to spend a couple hours and learn more about mining in Colorado. My kids loved doing the panning at the end of the tour. The adults panned for small flakes of gold while the kids did the gem stone panning. It was a very enjoyable experience!

Our guide was really good and helpful with sharing all information about the mine, accommodating and some funny puns
Totally enjoyed

The tour provided the history of the mine for all ages to understand! The views were wonderful. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny.

Argo Mine tour was very interesting, educational and informative! The tour guide made this tour fun! Great experience!

Fabulous tour and Bobby was an excellent guide. To be inside the mill and tunnel with the original equipment was like taking a step back in time. Everyone, including children, should visit so that our history is not lost.

Unpleasant hate bias incident!
The tour guide was a White Caucasian lady approximately 5’5 in height and moderate size in weight. She was wearing sunglasses and her hair was Blonde in color at the time. Approximately 40-55 years in age.
On November 13,2024 at approximately 1300 hours I attended the Argo Gold Mill & Tunnel with my female friend.
My initial experience was accommodating, but further into the tour I observed that the tour guide would not make eye contact with me or include me in the conversation. I gave the benefit of the doubt, but quickly realized this was a repeating pattern.
I felt this was due to me being black.
I requested a refund and would not recommend any minorities to attend until this is resolved.

We had so much fun! What an educational, yet wonderful adventure! We'll definitely recommend the Argo Mine tour to our family and friends!

It was fine. Thought there would be more to it with the cost of $30 a person. There were good stories, but it was lacking more instruction about how the mill operated.

The staff was very friendly. Tour guide let a lady who for got to wear her coat wear her coat. It was very interesting learning about what people did for work so long ago. Very historic.

Fascinating. I've wanted to learn more about the mill for probably 60 years. I believe our tour guide's name was Brianna. She did a great job. Informative and friendly. A rewarding and educational experience. I was wondering if there are any photos of the lake which was created by the 1943 blow out. I may have to take another tour before I check out.

Really a great and interesting tour. It was really neat to be able to go into part of the mine and learn the history of the complex. Also a good spot for kids to go, everyone was included!

Our tour guide, Stevie, was great. The tour was interesting and definitely worth a stop when in the area.
We enjoyed learning about the mill and touring the building.

Our guide, Brianna, was awesome! She made the tour fun and engaging! We learned a lot!
We would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Great tour! Patty was a great guide and shared lots of fascinating info! Would recommend this to anyone in the area looking for a fun stop.

It was an amazing historical experience. The way you are able to get up close and personal to a piece of history surrounding Idaho Springs, it's just one of the many reasons we love visiting Idaho Springs. I'm certain the family and I will be back! Our tour guide was amazing she was very knowledgeable and experienced, she made the experience all the more fun!

informative, interactive and fun! Our guide did an excellent job providing historic references and how the Argo mine and mill changed the mining industry.

Very informative, interesting tour. Our tour guide was very personable, knowledgeable, and most importantly, passionate about mining. She knows all the history of the area and about the mining process. There are some unique facts about this mine specifically that you don’t want to miss. Located in a cute, little town and worth stopping by to take a break halfway through your drive up the mountain. You also get to pan for gold afterwards so you can take a home a fun souvenir. Highly recommend!

That was such a cool tour, the guide was super funny and had answers for every question we had!
Thanks for the cool experience!

We had a great time on our tour! Erin, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and infused the tour with fun and jokes. She was friendly and communicated well with both the older crowd and young kids. She even took the time to learn the kids’ names and gave them chances to help with the tour! We would definitely recommend this tour!

Our guide was excellent, loved the video and gift shop. Safety was a priority and I learned so much about the history of Idaho springs

Very informative and fun. Lots of great Colorado history. We were amazed at how well preserved all of the buildings and equipment were even though they were 100 yrs old!

It was a fun experience. There was a lot of information and talking. We expected more of a journey into the mine. For our 10 year old the talking got a little boring. She wanted to explore a mine…. And the tiny little pieces of cold we panned for was very very small. The experience was not worth $84. It was fun but we won’t be going back.

We had a great time at the Argo Mill & Tunnel, our guide was awesome, she was knowledgeable & has great storytelling visuals! My 6YO niece said this was her favorite part of our trip! You have to visit if you’re in the area!

Very interesting tour! Highly recommend. Great historical information and the tour guides were spirited and educated on the topic.

The tour was very good. Tommy was an excellent tour guide and made us feel like we were present when the mill was operational.

We found the mine very interesting and the tour guide did an excellent job. Looking forward to the completion of the new gondola and facilities. We’ll definitely be back!

Fun and educational, loved the gold panning. My daughter and I thought that the tour guide was great and the inside of the mill was interesting.

Interesting tour - we were unfamiliar with the history of the place and the role of the tunnel, and were happy to learn! It was too cold to pan for gold but we got a kit to try it at home. Beutiful gift shop and very nice staff. We were with 3 kids, youngest is 12 y.

We learned so much about the Argo gold milling process. Our tour guide was fantastic! She had extensive knowledge! Even the children were able to learn about the mill and the overall history of the gold rush in the area.

A great upbeat tour and activity for the whole family. Despite the muddy weather we still had a great time and Erin was a fantastic tour guide!

Most enjoyable tour. Loved every minute. Guided was very information. Gave us lots of time to enjoy each section. Building/Mine has been lovingly restored and exhibits were great.

Very informative tour of the tunnel and mill! Bonus getting to pan for gold at the end! Fun stop with the family! Think about booking ahead, I think we just made it on the last tour of the day

We moved to Colorado a year ago from Indiana. We are exploring Colorado sites and visited Argo last week. Erin, our tour guide was the best tour guide my wife and I have ever had!! We've been to a majority of the Seven Wonders of the World and lots of other destinations in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa. Tour guides often have the information to convey to tourist memorized and it sounds like they are reading from a script, or they try to add humor, and it isn't funny. We could tell Erin loves her profession at Argo and makes the tour genuinely fun, she cares about our experience while educating us from her vast knowledge. Outstanding! I highly recommend the tour.

Beautiful area. Great tour. Guide was super funny! Loved the culminating experience of panning for gold! I found some specks so did my son and husband.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Argo Mine and Mill. Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour to others.

Allie our guide wad AMAZING, entertaining and knowledgeable. They have put alot of thought into the entite experience

The mill is very unique because all the equipment is intact and well-preserved. We really got a good idea of how gold was processed from the rock. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but he did not articulate well and it was hard to hear what he was saying. Also, it would have been good to learn more about the history of gold in Colorado and how the gold was mined, not just processed.

It was fun and informative. Working conditions in the mine and mill were shocking, and none of us had heard of the deadly flood that was the result of efforts to drain water from the many mines in the area. Tour was less than 1.5 hours with some fun gold panning at the end.

Honestly I’ve driven by it for decades. We spent the weekend in Idaho springs to enjoy the town and the Argo was on the to-do list. What a wild story and history, and it was wonderfully shared with a great guide.

Such a fun and interesting tour! I’m not typically a historical tour type of person, but my mother and partner are so we thought it would be a fun activity. I was pleasantly surprised. The perfect amount of time (90 minutes), movement from place to place, and finishing off with gold panning was a great touch. Our guide, whose name I can’t remember (darn!), was awesome!!! Young bearded man with a monster drink. He answered everyone’s questions, was energetic, funny, friendly, and truly made the experience! Definitely a great $25 for your trip when visiting

The Argo tunnel has a fascinating story, and this is a wonderfully preserved historic site. Our tour guide was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Guide was knowledgeable, just wish there was a little more to it than a door that holds back toxic water and the places where equipment used to be attached down in the mill

Dylan was our guide, and he was nice, patient, and super informative. He kept the attention of all in the large group, including our special needs son and our 11 year old daughter! Would highly recommend. We were also late due to traffic, and was kind in accommodating our family of 7!

Interesting, informative tour and a fun gold panning activity at the end. We ended up with about 6 gold flakes! Probably not enough to quit our jobs, but was definitely rewarding to find the shinies. There were some young children (under 8) on the tour and I would recommend not bringing kids that young. Would be fun for older kids, though.

Very reasonably priced, very nice and welcoming staff, and a great tour! I just wish I had read up a bit more on gold mining before going because they had so much info that I wanted to learn more about.

Very informative and interesting tour. Who knew all this history happened at the Argo Mill and Mine. Ally was our guide and was super helpful, told personal stories and really made it interesting. Great place to take out of town visitors and super kid friendly. Bonus - panning for gold at the end of the tour. So fun!

Such a great tour! Our tour guide was amazing and we learned a lot! It was cool learning about the old mining days and all about the town!

We had so much fun on our tour with our guide Andrew. He gave a lot of detail about the tunnel and the history behind it, but mixed in fun stories that kept us laughing. It's definitely a unique and fun way to learn about Colorado's mining history, plus you get to pan for gold at the end which was great!

Very detailed informations on the life in a mill a century ago. Only caveat is the tunnel, which is sealed after 50m because of the toxic water.

Our guide Dillon was rich in knowledge and history of the area as well as a knowledgeable prosecutor . We enjoyed the trip and guide tremendously and are so happy we stopped on our way through, Marv from Indiana

Went on this tour to relive an elementary school field trip experience with my husband. Boy, this was a fun time! Tommy the Tour Guide (you gotta love the name) was fantastic in every way. Knowledgeable, comedic, and inviting to questions and curiosity; Tommy was wonderful guide to Argo and her history. The overall location is immaculately preserved and serves as a perfect example of mining history and Colorado’s past. The gold panning activity was a blast (no pun intended); a fun opportunity to get into the mind space of a gold panning son-of-a-gun while interacting with your partner and tour group. Thank you for having us, Argo!

This was a really fun historical tour. My kids and I learned a lot from the knowledgeable tour guide. We panned for gold at the end which was a nice ending activity where we learned a new skill.

Our tour guide (Andrew, i think) was very friendly and knowledgeable. This was a unique and fun tour. We had a snowy day so had to walk instead of take the bus - keep this in mind if you have limited mobility - but it was no issue for us. We also could not pan for gold due to weather but they sent us home with a goody bag instead - very thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this tour to CO locals and visitors. It was interesting to learn about Colorado and mining history!

We hit the mine and mill tour on probably the coldest, windiest day of our trip, so it was pretty cold and physically taxing. That being said, the tour and tour guide were amazing! The knowledge of our tour guide (the only resident of Nevadaville) as amazing, and she told many fascinating stories that interested our three children (all under the age of 10 years old). The gift shop people were efficient and kind, and they warmed us up with complimentary tea and cocoa.
If you are in this area and even remotely interested in history, this tour is a must-see.

Tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. Tour was interesting, however, maybe I didn't read the description well enough, about 10 minutes max was spent in the mine. And the most you go in the mine is about 30 feet to a sealed door. But overall interesting and enjoyable.

Great history and knowledgeable tour guide but I wish there was more mine touring than a museum. The mine itself is permanently locked. Idaho Springs is a cute little town, wonderful brewery so i highly recommend visiting.

Super interesting tour, I learned so much about mining that I was surprised not to know, given that I grew up in the area. There was so much cool stuff to see, my only complaint is that I could have spent twice as much time exploring the museum at the end of the tour!

Our guide Tom was great and very knowledgeable about the whole history of the Argo, its purpose and key role in the Gold Rush this area experienced from the mid 19th century. Very entertaining and the gold panning at the end of the tour was definitely fun!

This was awesome and fun. Kids loved it also! Our tour guide was engaging and funny. Never realized how much more fin this would be compared to history classes!

The Argo Mine and Tunnel tour was the highlight of our weekend. We randomly chose Idaho Springs as our 'beat the heat' destination and were not disappointed. Our tour guide, Dillon, was so very personable and as a gold miner himself was a wealth of information. Up at the mine site the view is spectacular and you really get a feel for what the old miners had to go through. The mine stays at a constant 55 degrees so a jacket may be warrented. There are a couple of flights of narrow stairs in the tour but hand rails are in place. The mine equipment has been well cared for and the size of the crushers, augers, hoppers etc. are impressive. Dillon is an expert in the history of the mine and narrates the entire process in detail as well as shagging any questions you may have. After the tour you have an opportunity to pan for your own gold with Dillon as your instructor. The gift shop has a wide range of quality souvenirs and books about Colorado specifically. The entire staff is very friendly and I highly recommend you put the Argo Mine and Tunnel tour on your travel itenerary.

We had a great time and learned a ton! It was interesting to see the mine itself and see all the ways the rocks and slurry was handled. Kids loved panning for gold at the end too.

Excellent experience! Our family ranged in age from 6 to 64 and everyone had a blast! Five stars! Highly recommended!!!

We were “filling in some downtime” and chose to check out the mine… our experience tremendously outweighed our expectations. Dan was our guide and was awesome! I would advise anyone visiting the Rockies to take this tour to help better understand what really was happening during the gold rush. What started off as something to kill some time turned into one of the highlights of our trip!

Interesting tour. Nice tour guide. Super interesting stuff. I wish there was a little mine tour connected to it, but overall, if you are looking for something to do that is quick it is really fun.

Super interesting, our guide Dillon was very informative. The architecture was amazing. Definately recommend! Lots of mining facts.

Thomas B was an excellent tour guide and we really enjoyed our tour! I just wish your gift shop was available online to ship items home! (Delaware)

Our guide, Stevi was so knowledgeable and informative. She is a 4th generation local, which I loved. It was so educational and scary for the people who worked there. I guess they did what they had to do even if it was so hazardous to their health.

Fun, interesting, and informative. Highly recommend! Tour guide Char is very knowledgable. Fascinating glimpse into history.

The guide gave clear and interesting information; she was thorough and helped me understand some of the mine and mill processes. The gold-panning was super fun! It was very worth the 1 plus hour tour.

This tour was fun and very educational. The tour guide was the best. I will definitely bring more family and visits to tour again in the future.

Great overview of the Gold mining process and view of the issues miners faced during the early days. Nice interactive involvement for kids as well.

The Argo Gold Mill tour was great with a lot of history. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Had a nice gift shop with gold panning at the end.

We had such a blast and learned so much about the milling process! They will take you back to a simpler and exciting time in American history. Thanks so much to Willow for being such a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Thank you all for preserving the history and wonder of this mountain mill!

After driving past the mill for many years, finally decided to check it out. The history behind the mill is very interesting and we truly enjoyed the tour. Erin, our tour guide, was nothing short of amazing - she’s very knowledgeable and has quite a good sense of humor. Highly recommended!

Very informative and a fun way to spend a couple hours. I have drove by for many years and was always curious what was in the big red building on the side of the mountain. Definitely worth it to explore some mining history.

The mill tour was interesting but lacking with interaction and tour guide enthusiasm. Location easy to get to if in Idaho Springs.

Very historic place that played a huge part in the gold rush. Tour was very informative. Nikola Tesla did the wiring for the machinery in the mill. Panning for gold was fun.

The tour was very informative. The tour guide kept it fun and engaging. I learned a lot about mining in Colorado.

We had a cool tour guide, wish I grabbed his name before we left (wore glasses), he was very informative and could answer anyone’s question! Knew lots of cool facts.

Brianna (sp?) was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the tour and informing the group. It was obvious she is captivated by and loves the history of the Mill.

Dillon was a great tour guide. His knowledge of the mine operations and tunnel was very informative. He was able to touch on the geological history, mineral identifications and the rock cycle so the lay person could understand.
We throughly enjoyed our visit.

Our grandsons loved this tour. They are still talking about it. They loved the Big Horns up by the mill. It was a really cool tour.

Very informative guide- made the tour engaging and fun. We had no idea how dangerous the mining and extraction process was

As the title says, it's an excellent tour if you're into that sort of thing. Didn't do the gold panning but that would be great fun with the kids. Museum/store was well stocked with books about mining history, among other things.

We had a great time, lots if information and very cool to see the historic mill! Our tout guide was patient and informative with lots of questions from kiddos and adults. This tour helped history to come to life!

Argo was an amazing experience for all ages! Amazing staff. Great views. Very informative. Thank you argo for such an amazing experience!

Our guide was great! Very informative with a touch or charisma and humor. It was amazing how original and kept the whole operation is and the kids lived panning for REAL gold and gemstones after the tour was complete!

While we were initially unsure about booking the tour (thought it might be boring) we were all pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it. Erin was a great tour guide, and very knowledgeable. We had a wide range of ages in our group and it was a "HIT" with everyone!

Very informative - kids loved it at the end when they finally got to pan for gold. Tour guide knows what he is talking about and has good humor.

Very nice tour! Educational and fun!! Our tour guide was well informed and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend!

It was fun and interesting. Our guide was very enthusiastic and informative. It wasn’t what we were expecting but we had fun. Enjoyed the gold panning at the end as well.

Great visit and tour, with lots of insightful information about the workings of the Mill. We did the Phoenix Mine just before this and it worked in really good as you learned about the mining side then went here to learn about the next steps. Gold panning after the tour was also a lot of fun :0)

As long as I’ve lived in the front range I’ve never done this tour. I’m so happy I finally did it! Really interesting history and a great tour. The itty-bitty kids were melting down by the end but the school age kids all seemed very interested.
Fun, friendly, and informative
This was an amazing tour. I actually work at a touring mine similar to this and these guides did amazing! Top notch delivery of a lot of mining history and information. Highly recommend this for a unique activity.
