Beautiful Bountiful Botanical Gardens

By Dianna I |

We traveled to Atlanta as a day trip only and decided to visit the botanical gardens. We were a family of 11 including a two year old and senior. Everyone had a wonderful time. We were easily able to navigate with a stroller and a wheelchair. The gardens are beautiful and no area disappointed with its abundance of foliage. The gardeners were friendly and answered our questions. We will return.

Downtown Garden

By GeorgeMarina |

Urban Botanical Garden, near downtown.

Thankfully we can,, but not sure how a family can afford to visit. Just shy of $30 per adult and in addition pay for parking. If you take a nice stroll to enjoy the whole park, parking will set you back an additional $15-$20.

If you’re looking for serenity, note that weekend concerts at next door concerts Piedmont Park are pretty loud.

Garden and Piedmont Park share the parking garage, so as the day goes on, it gets highly congested.

Overall nice flower garden. Volunteers & park employees are very nice & helpful.

Love this garden!

By JoanCDallas |

This was our second visit to the garden. Lovely to walk through the Storza Woods and see the SUPERnatural: Aerial Art in Motion installation. Very much worth the trip just to see this!

Atlanta Botanical Garden Christmas LIghts

By Kim |

The Christmas Light display is phenomenal. Visited during my Thanksgiving Trip to Atlanta - well worth the time. Put our family in the Christmas Spirit.

Wow

By Gene K |

First time I had been here. What a great collection of plants and landscaped and natural settings. The orchid collection is the best I've seen. The current special exhibit "Trolls" has huge wooden sculptures located in parts of the garden.

New Troll exhibit fun way to walk the gardens

By Fay S |

We visited to see the gardens and the new exhibit - Trolls. Fun and interesting way to walk around and see the beautiful gardens and the visit the indoor gardens and amazing orchids.

Worth the price

By Narek D |

Enormous botanical garden with fabulous plants. Easy to spend two hours here enjoying the wide variety of beautiful flowers and trees. Nice cafe on site as well.

A very nice walk in the woods and more

By Horacio Navas |

We visited in July. While hot and humid, it was a delight to see large trees and many more plants and environments. Immaculate and clean. But the star are the orchids: one of the best greenhouses we have seen, very diverse. There was also live music and refreshments. A worthwhile experience.

The best thing in Atlanta??

By MartyHarry |

I have to say I don't like flowers or am usually impressed by much. But this place was amazing! Make sure you go here as it was defiantly the highlight of our trip.

Better in the spring ?

By Damen71 |

Stopped by because we were near the park. Nice place but I’m sure in the warmer months there’s much more to see. February is not a good time many of the plants are not in bloom. Still a nice day there

Enjoyable Atlanta Botanical Gardens

By simcha |

Lovely gardens and fun whimsical exhibit of wooden trolls. Our visit was about 2-1/2 hours. The highlights were the canopy walk and Fuqua Orchid Center with stunning color combinations and artistic displays. However, our group of 4 adults had 2 objections to the garden experience. First, there was a dearth of plant identification signs. We found this inexplicable in a botanical garden. I mentioned this to one employee who had no answer about why so little plant identification. Second, the Trolls map was artistically attractive but misleading regarding distance. Overall we enjoyed the gardens and recommend them.

Beautiful, definitely a to do!

By Hilary |

This is a beautiful botanical garden. It offers something for everyone. The main structure houses a rainforest recreation and is a must see! The map is easy to follow and it’s surprisingly easy to walk the entire place. Don’t miss the 3 Chihuly glass sculptures, a hidden tiny fairy door, and of course walking along the lush landscapes of their great lawn. I saw a few people having a relaxing picnic, even though they have a restaurant, snacks, and a gift shop I’d bring a blanket and a picnic basket.

Very nice and relaxing

By Monika T |

Very nice botanical garden, with changing exhibitions, an orchid house and so on. Cheap entrance cheap parking, a great souvenir shop.
Here you can relax your soul

Beautiful!

By mduque2339 |

We reserved our tickets online the day before, due to covid restrictions they have a timed entry system to limit crowds. We spent almost the whole day wandering through the flowers and took some amazing photos. My 7 year old enjoyed the children’s garden with areas to climb & explore. There are a couple onsite locations where you can get food and beverages and plently of outdoor seating to enjoy it. The beautiful lady made of fliwers at the fountain was under construction but ither then that we gad the best time!

A Lot of Wow!

By Jeffrey H |

One of my favorite botanical gardens, and I go to them wherever I am traveling. Their rooms under glass are amazing and take you to the jungle, the desert and the amazing world of orchids. The outdoor displays are stunning and quite varied. Gorgeous perennial/annual beds, a Japanese garden, woodland gardens, sculpture, vistas, architectural features, and usually some story land settings incased in leaves and plants that paint a vivid picture.

Delightful Afternoon Visit

By GeneralShamu |

Came here in the mid to late afternoon. Such a beautiful and tranquil space with many walking paths entirely accessible by wheelchair or, in our case, a stroller. Restaurant located on site that is decent as well.

Plan to spend 3-5 hours here depending on your pace.

Not worth it, lady is nice but not as advertised

By Amy M |

We visited in March, and paid the full admission fees. There were hardly any flowers besides tulips at the entryway. The lady was the best feature. Besides that there were no garden elements. There were cool wooden creatures, but the overall area was confusing to navigate, littered, and not as pretty as other gardens. It definitely looks better in pictures. Lots of leaves that need to be picked up and branches. They can use a new gardener maybe. Not as clean as in the pictures either. The park next to us is better than the actual garden. People there are also kind of interesting. One got mad at us because she thought we were taking her pictures when literally we were posing for ourselves. A guy followed us and was weird too.

Atlanta Gardens - changing throughout the seasons.

By jpjpjpjpj |

These are beautiful gardens in Midtown Atlanta with each season highlighting the best plants/flowers in the South.

Currently there is a whimsical Troll art installation. The orchids in the hothouse are absolutely amazing.

Each season these gardens have highlights including winter lights, often scarecrows in October and cocktails and music some evenings. Something for everyone. Oh, and the kids play place is extraordinary.

Gorgeous place!

By luxbutsensible |

A great place to wander and enjoy nature. Unfortunately, I was a bit early in the season, but there was still plenty to enjoy. Orchid enclosure is spectacular with so many varieties. Loved the Chihuly sculptures. Definitely a must in your visit to Atlanta.

Gorgeous Orchid houses and grounds!

By Spunky63 |

The Orchid Houses were stunning, and even in the winter, the grounds were lovely and the walk around Piedmont Park was filled with people and dogs.

We enjoyed it

By Inspire48239349838 |

A very good array of flowers, the paths were easy to follow and walk, the sculptures are creative. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it to others.

Garden Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens

By trinityboutin |

This was my second trip to the Garden Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. The gardens become a magical sanctuary. The lights are absolutely stunning and the Christmas spirit is very present. I went with a friend and we had drinks while there. The drinks were not spectacular but they were holiday-themed. I like that the garden has a lot of outdoor and indoor lights, which really come in handy to escape the cold on those chilly nights. The light show is really beautiful and is definitely a highlight of the garden lights exhibit. I would recommend the garden lights for those of all ages. Whether you are there with friends, a romantic partner, or family, I am sure everyone will enjoy the Christmas lights.

Well Done

By Bryan D |

This was wonderful Christmas display of lights and sounds. Buy tickets in advance online. Loved it. Good for adults and children’s all ages.

Super Fun

By Wesley A |

Such a great time. They were great with Covid safety and the lights are just beautiful. So glad we went.

Highly recommended

By Passenger01147633632 |

Amazing. Breathe taking. It has surpassed my expectations. I could relax and enjoy the garden in its fullest. Highly recommended

Highly Recommend, just not when it is over 90 degrees!

By Valkyrie |

Lots Id variety and well maintained gardens. I appreciated all the places to sit and enjoy the scenery, especially at the pond which had cool origami boats in it for a display. Seeing all the other metal origami in the gardens was cool too. I really enjoyed the overlook walkway but my friend, who is afraid of heights, had a hard time on it. It was very hot, and there wasn’t a lot of cooler indoor areas, however you could find shady areas to go to. I really liked the live music as well

Great views

By David L |

I really enjoyed my trip there. I love the layout of the different exhibits. I loved the different costume exhibits to fit the halloween theme. The variety of plans we great. Lots of places to take great pictures.

an awesome experience

By crschwab |

We came during the day, was very quite and relaxing. Would love to come in the evening to see everything lit up. Would also recommend coming in the spring months when the flowers are in bloom, we seen mostly the greenery as the flowers were almost all gone. The indoor spaces/exhibits were lovely and had some really unique plants.

Walking into Heaven!!!

By Review E |

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a 30-acre urban oasis located in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia. Established in 1976, this non-profit garden is dedicated to the conservation, education, and enjoyment of plant life. It offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and families alike

The garden is renowned for its diverse plant collections and beautifully landscaped areas. Visitors can explore a variety of themed gardens, including the Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, and the Edible Garden. One of the highlights is the Fuqua Orchid Center, which houses a stunning collection of high-elevation orchids that are rarely seen in the Southeast

We love this place!

By niaknowsrealty |

My family always love to see the Holiday light showcase during this season. We hold annual passes and take advantage of the Gardens. The scenery is every changing and the food is great. I use my pass to "clear my head" and to take a quick escape to walk through curated nature-in the middle of the city.

Amazing colorful garden

By Miguel6692 |

The botanical garden of Atlanta is wonderful. I really enjoyed the colorful flowers, the walk in the grounds, the very tall trees, the views on the city. A must do.

Relaxing afternoon and perfect way to enjoy the day

By Bluebart |

The fall exhibits were a real treat The entire facility is very well maintained and it was a pleasure to stroll through on a Saturday afternoon. The orchid exhibit in the pavilion was beautiful

Great Place to Visit !

By FTichy |

Honestly I don't know how this is not the #1 attraction in Atlanta, it is just amazing.

It's not very big but it is very well kept with lots to see. The orchid center was incredible.

They do have to invest in the Japanese garden because you can't even locate it.

I can only imagine how beautiful it must be in spring (we went during spring break) and it was starting to come alive.

Totally worth the visit.

OK bit surrounding park jaded.

By Judith F |

The botanical garden itself is OK but the park it's set in is tired and jaded. Please be aware that in August main summer 2024 there were No open toilet facilities at all. The Piedmont Park is big but is a tad overgrown and rubbish strewn around the paths and side areas. The lake in the park is lovely. Gardens are worth visiting but in my opinion are not really a main tourist site.

Pricy

By MaryTheExplorer |

This was very nice but the high price was astounding. Most large gardens are less than $15. I guess the "features" that raise the price are good if you don't want to just look at plants.

Do better

By Jeh J |

The garden was s nice and beautiful experience. My issue is when I decided to leave and maybe get a souvenir. Big greeting when I entered the souvenir shop, but every single time I turned around I was being watched. I am not a thief and didn't appreciate being profiled in your shop. It actually ruined my experience to the garden. I was considering purchasing an orchid & I needed to buy some drinking water, but I was NOT going to give anything more to them. I will never return. They follow certain types of people around the store. Do better!

A very relaxing walk on a spring day.

By fossilman2 |

Being from central NY this was a wonderful experience in April. Many of the outdoor areas were in full bloom and the conservatories' indoor displays were stunning. The garden has many different environments represented. Take the time to get a great lunch in the Longleaf restaurant.

Busy but very beautiful and relaxing.

By Victoria p |

Very beautiful and relaxing, teens and little ones enjoyed also. Loved trains! Had some spiked eggnog yummy! The light show was the best.

If you love plants, go here!

By Jenrenv |

Beautiful gardens with art pieces in some areas, edible garden, orchid garden, restaurant, kids area and do much more.

If Visiting in the Summer wear sunscreen

By Ange |

The Botanical was absolutely beautiful grounds to walk. Bring comfortable shoes as it will be a lot of walking. Beautiful flowers and sculptures. Offers some cooling rooms in the biosphere rooms away from the heat outside. So many beautiful flowers, exotic plants and edible plants. Fun for the kids as well to find all the trolls and the kids garden has plenty to offer.

Do’s
Bring sunscreen
Or wear a hat
Wear comfortable shoes
Bring credit card as most things is cashless
Take plenty of photos

Atlanta Botanical Garden, a visit you cannot miss

By Marq Crix |

I was passing through Atlanta, I couldn't miss the opportunity to visit the State Botanical Garden. There are no words, the tour took me a little over 2 hours, I took photos, videos, I drank coffee, I really enjoyed the park combined with the light tour, what a great attraction! - awesome!!. Then the Gift Shop, it is always a good reminder about the visit and the treatment there was very cordial.

Astounding Origami!

By Marcus27 |

This wonderful facility is simply a treasure trove of delights, no matter the season. Aside from the various flowers and trees blooming throughout the year, the exhibits/installations that come to Atlanta Botanical Garden periodically are always thrilling.

Nice lights; very little Christmas themes

By Louis H |

The lights are good and the facility is very nice; however there were no Christmas themes. I can get they do no want to take any religious stance but there aren't any type of secular Christmas displays either(santa claus, grinch, etc). They have music playing but the only song I heard was one from Charlie Brown Christmas. The rest are non-Christmas songs. Again extremely nice setup and lights but don't go expecting to see the Christmas spirit.

Garden Lights

By billhardison |

Buyer beware . There is no plan in place to limit the crowds and there in no plan once inside to keep you or family safe from others . Saw countless people without mask bottle neck points all over and congestion putting you in contact with many others . It was down right shameful and I will never go back . I have been many and I love the lights but last night was a huge fail by the leadership team on a Covid plan . They tell you they have a plan but I saw none in place and I am not a Covid freak out kinda guy . It was horrible so save your money and go to one in a car drive thru . It was a disgrace and they should be embarrassed on their plan .

Art and flowers in the heat.

By monswall |

We sweated our way through all the gardens. The Origami display was there when we visited. The Origami sculptures are scattered around the park in various sizes, indoors and out. The map helps you find the locations.
You'll want good walking shoes, a water bottle , the hat and sunglasses. I recommend not doing any more walking after this garden. We saw water lilies, blooming lotus, orchids, and art scattered across the garden.
If you have a garden membership from elsewhere use it.

simply amazing

By floridaprincess65 |

incredible time spent there. They have new glass flower exhibit. Beautiful and masaterful. Very peacefull. Orhid room was amazing. Everything was clean and joyful. They even had live music. We loved being there. Great energy

Festival of Lights - Even Better

By Jeremy C |

We have seen the Festival of LIghts every year, and it keeps getting better and better. This year the new "Rainbow Grove" was gorgeous, and the lights hanging from the trees and dancing to the music were even more dynamic. This is something we look forward to every year!

Beautiful Gardens

By Jim G |

This is a must see location. Something to see all year long. They offer a viability of seasonal exhibitions depending on the season. The Christmas lights are a must see. Our 3 year old twin grandsons loved this place.

Trolls

By Renee Y |

Large gardens with many exhibits. I like the art installations. The trolls are there currently, and they were cool.

A Nice Stroll Around The Park - You Know How I Love The Park

By NYC Edge |

During a visit to Atlanta, spent a couple of hours at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Came here during the Alice In Wonderland exhibit.
This Garden is not a big place and is easily walkable. Pick up a map and stroll around. The Garden can be done, at a leisurely pace in about 2 hours.
If you have the time and want a nice day in the park, I recommend the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Family Trip

By James |

Nice family trip. It was nice seeing the Christmas decorations. The family had a blast at the light show, the kids were really excited.

Highlight of the trip

By Lisa S |

took an uber to the gardens because I wasn't sure how to get into downtown Atlanta in my car without having a heart attack. The entire trip was a DREAM! Uber drivers were great and the gardens were beyond my wildest imagination. The glass flower sculptures throughout the gardens were mesmerizing and the symphony playing strings on a Sunday evening -- exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you!

A beautiful garden setting with lots to see and enjoy

By Valleyblue |

We are regular botanical garden visitors and we had heard that the Atlanta Botanical Gardens was excellent. It was. We were advised to go in the evening, which we did, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Alice in Wonderland topiary was fun, but we found that the greenhouses were our favorite part. It's a large area with lots of walking paths, but it's hard to sometimes find what you're looking for. Everything is beautiful and well maintained.

Our only criticism is that they have speakers along the paths that play music, I found that out of place and distracting. I could do without it. Also, the recorded bird chirps in the greenhouses didn't fit.

Otherwise a great experience.

Saturday Morning Date

By Bonitaruss |

Hello, my husband surprised me with a trip to the ABG! From 10am to 2:30ish, we explored every inch of the gardens. I had not been there is over 10 years. We sat and relaxed, meeting a couple traveling from California. Enjoyed a great conversation and had lunch in the onsite restaurant.

This place is so peaceful and relaxing. The grounds were maintained very well. One aspect that I really enjoyed was the Orchids. I could have sat in that place all day. The variety of plants was extensive.

Great place to take your guest and family.

Family vacation

By LouBelle59 |

We arrived and it was hot but worth the money we spent to get in. Lots of beautiful flowers and views. Really enjoyed the Garden.

Origami in the Garden - Atlanta Botanical Gardens

By Kelly P |

Stunning, sublime creations that integrate beautifully into the surrounding floral masterpieces…or should I say, “masterpeaces”. The audio tour provided further insight into the artists’ processes and brought the experience to an even more enjoyable level. The collaboration between the artists and the garden, and their effort to give visitors the most impactful experience is evident, particularly with the “Goddess”. I was fortunate to see her in full bloom, and she is truly breathtaking.

If I had to pick one word to describe the experience, I’d choose “Joy”.

Beautiful

By toriderrough |

Beatiful and great for couples! Walking around all of the beautiful flowers was just as relaxing as being able to sit and enjoy the scenery

Great way to spend a day outdoors

By Matthew S |

Beautiful gardens with a lovely variety of native and nonnative plants. We especially enjoyed the Japanese gardens and the veg garden.

Even in Winter, it's worth the visit!

By Rftstar |

On a mild December Saturday, we took in the Gardens. Visiting the area from the Midwest, we loved the different themed areas and especially enjoyed the Conservatory. We were surprised at how many flowers and green were still visible in the winter months.

Christmas Lights

By triptixmom |

So beautiful and fun. I could sit and watch the lights change with the music all night! The paths were well lit and easy to navigate even with a large crowd.

Christina’s light show

By Daniele Pimentel |

Went there during the night for the Christina’s light show and it was one of the best experiences I had. Really pretty and cozy. A must go if you are visiting on November/december.

Love the fresh smell of plants in the garden

By SCoxygenman |

This place a nice mellow escape from downtown Atlanta. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fresh smells of all the plants and greens. This is the perfect time of year with all the flowers starting to bloom. My biggest tip before you go is watch the weather to make sure its going to be a nice day as this is most all outdoors walking trails. It has time entries due to Covid protocols so you have to get those tickets online in advance before you show up. With that said we felt very safe with the social distancing. Don’t recall any tight crowds, everyone here was just kinda keeping there space and enjoying the garden. Give it up for the maintenance and garden crews for keeping this place so clean and nice.

It's a garden. Pretty enough, but absolutely no effort put into customer service

By Pamela P |

The gardens are nice enough... nothing spectacular. It was so hot, then it poured our of nowhere soaking me, and then got humid. (Not the Botanical Gardens fault) I just wanted to leave at that point. There are absolutely NO signs posted pointing the way to the exit, and the paper map they give you is worthless. I walked around in circles FOUR TIMES before I finally started flipping my kid.... but even then, there were NO EMPLOYEES around to help me find my way out, another guest did. I think it was kind of expensive for what you got... well, what I got... which was a damn, drowned, sweaty attitude. There are nicer things to do in the city

Stunning and serene

By ilsete |

The botanical gardens were a last minute addition due to some things being closed for Columbus Day. Glad they were. It's a big place and has some wonderful sights. Despite it being fall, plenty of things were still in-bloom outside and the inside stuff was of course. The orchids were magnificent. No ce children's garden of you have little ones. Our membership to our local botanical garden got us in free with a reciprocal feature. Recommend you visit when in Atlanta.

Lights Show

By Rose Anonymous |

I really liked the lights show, it was cool seeing the "Ice Goddess" and phoenix lit up. I really enjoyed seeing the lights in sync to the music and I recommend it.

A Wonderful Garden Expeience

By Fred_Merchant |

The garden was recommended by a family member while visiting the Atlanta area and it deserved the recommendation. The garden provided a huge variety of garden types and a huge green house with more different climate zones. I found the Georgia / southern natural area the best and the sky bridge a chance to see up into the canopy. The garden is hosting a special exhibit of trolls conceived by a Danish Artist Thomas Dambo. They are 20 to 30 feet high and wonderful.

Magical place!

By Nikita K |

I went to see it a week ago and it was magnificent! The lights were amazing and everything was done really well. I really enjoyed my visit and I recommend people to check it out!

Absolutely beautiful, inside and outside. The orchid house is a reprieve from the heat.

By Kirstin |

Highly recommended. Beautiful permanent collections as well as an integrated special exhibition for Alice in Wonderland. The topiary sculptures are stunning and playful. The singing flowers come with their own background music! It’s an oasis in a hot city with the Atlanta skyline serving as a backdrop to the large green. The orchid house is a total gem! Enormous with many different plants and such a welcome break from the heat. We also loved the frog statues sprinkled throughout the grounds.

Solid Visit

By Jayjay099 |

Went to see the Holiday Lights😃 YES, they expect you to wear a mask😯 Still, the overall walk through the grounds was nice😃 Yet, I will openly admit it never once make me go “WOW!” It was easy to get around and I thought overall they were well organized😃 Liked the music to lights! First time seeing the lights, can’t see me doing it again, need the WOW effect😯😉

Very beautiful

By David P |

One of my favorite places on vacation was this Garden. Botanical garden made my vacation wonderful. It is very lovely, beautiful, the decoration is great and the time they have spend to make it must have been hours and hours. Do not hesitate to check this out

Great experience

By BL M |

So many beautiful plants to look at. My special needs son loved it here, it seemed to comfort him. Everyone was very accommodating. Will be taking him back very soon!

A Must-Do While In Atlanta

By Schatze |

The garden that never ends! Make sure to plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time to see as much of this place as you can - it's HUGE!

We had 11:30am admission, and everyone thought that was perfect. It gave us enough time in the morning to have breakfast without rushing, and still gave us plenty of daytime to enjoy the massive property. We were staying at a hotel within walking distance (The Starling), so we didn't have to worry about parking.

We probably spent four hours walking around and taking it all in. Make sure you go to all the exhibits. Take all the random turns. Walk down the random paths - they all bring you somewhere new. It was magical! Don't forget to grab a map!

I would also bring sunscreen, a hat, a backpack, and cold water. They have cold water available in the gift shop that you can buy before heading out on your adventure. There is a restaurant within the garden, but the menu seemed a little small (and almost a little fancy?), so we opted to eat at a local bar/pub within walking distance of the garden - you have options.

The Alice in Wonderland Exhibit is Bananas

By Sara G. |

My recent visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden was amazing, particularly the Alice in Wonderland exhibit, which is so intricate. The garden, established in 1976, has grown into a plant lovers paradise of over 30 acres in the middle of Atlanta.

The Alice in Wonderland exhibit was creative and the plants displayed perfectly to create Alice, the Queen, the cards, all of it. We were transported into a world straight out of Lewis Carroll's imagination. Each plant sculpture, meticulously crafted and maintained, is a must-see.

If you’re in Atlanta, you need to stop in and see this.

Lovely walking tour thru beautifully kept inner city gardens…

By Victoria F |

We needed an extra outing after our bus sightseeing tour….an afternoon thundershower cooled things off to allow for a delightful tour thru these gardens featuring origami sculptures…we stopped for a tasty libation from one of the easily found beverage & snack bars. My favorite place was the house of orchids… o my goodness!
SO many beyond gorgeous varieties!
The well shaded walk was just the perfect activity to round out our full day!
Thank you!

Origami in the garden exhibit

By person10 |

The atlanta botanical garden is a wonderful place to visit and you should go to see the origami in the garden exhibit ( the origamis are made out of metal ) but the exhibit inside out show some of the metal origamis made from paper and for some of them it even shows the paper unfolded.

Would not go again

By Allison W |

Overpriced. Was not worth the $27 admission ticket. Plan around the weather. The day we went it felt like 101 and made the trip less enjoyable. The garden is so huge and takes a while to see everything.

Well worth a visit

By JensAddictions |

The Americans know how to do parks and public spaces. The botanical gardens are on the edge of Piedmont Park in Atlanta and the whole area is stunning.

Piedmont Park is free to enter and us Brits could learn a thing or two from our American cousins about how to do public spaces - it's inviting, incredibly well presented and extremely clean and well care for.

If it was in the UK it would be overgrown, strewn with litter and cost a fortune to enter!

The botanical gardens carries a fee to enter but it's well worth it and we spend quite a few hours exploring the various areas. The canopy garden and the cascades I particularly enjoyed, it was just stunning.

If you're in the Atlanta area I would highly recommend a visit - it's not something easy to describe via text, just go.

Reduced opening hours should be communicated across all channels

By C&D |

We drove 4 hours through a tornado to get to the gardens to find they shut at 4pm today. Whilst there was a notice on the website there was nothing on Google or Trip Advisor. We arrived along with many other people to find it shut and we had to turn around. This needs a better communications approach. These days putting it just on your website isn’t enough. Very disappointing.

Family and friends fun in Atlanta

By CCL2839 |

Fun place to see plants and enjoy the outdoors. Parking garage with paid parking. Places to sit and a few cafe options and a restaurant. Events year round.

Breathtaking

By Anna P |

Had an amazing time seeing Origami in the Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens recently.

Highly recommend this exhibition. The exhibit is breathtaking, and the sheer magnitude of the pieces is awe inspiring. They fit masterfully into each area as if they had always been there. Loved every part of the exhibit and can’t wait to go back. Every friend I’ve sent has thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Amazing lights

By Robin |

The lights were amazing! I purchased the premium package so we could walk right in with out a line. I also got the plus package so we could get light necklaces, drink ticket, and a snack.
The plus was not a good value for the items given. Definitely skip on that. I recommend you Get there at 5:30 or 6:00 so you will have plenty of time. It’s a lot to see and it’s amazing!!!
It would be more fun if they have more for the children to do.
I definitely recommend going to the Christmas lights in the park, just don’t recommend splurging on the extras.
Also was not impressed with the fine dining restaurant inside the gardens

Stunning and exceptional gardens worth every cent

By Londonfoodsnob16 |

I was born at Kew Gardens in London and thought should visit these botanical gardens . I hadnt planned the vist as I was on a business trip. Stunning afternoon and amazing orchid house ..of which standrad i have never seen before .You must go even if you are not into gardening. Just beautiful.

2023 magic

By jturn |

Wonderful experience! Magical walkways through imaginatively created landscapes. Highly Recommend!!
The parking is extremely expensive and you may wish to find parking elsewhere. The other thing to note is they do not accept any form of currency other than credit cards.

Beautiful

By Becky V |

We visited the Atlanta Botanical Gardens yesterday with some family from out of town. Really great time!!!
Everything was beautiful.

The best orchid house!

By brandasa |

This is a great botanical garden - among the best! We spent just over two hours. The orchid house is the best I've ever seen - so many types. This is better than the Fairchild in Miami for sure. I'd highly suggest a stop here. Parking is easy and cheap.

Beautiful gardens

By Kernal3 |

I visited with my son and daughter-in-law during the time the trolls were in residence. They were delightful. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. I originally put a five rating because the gardens were so good. However finding food was difficult. We had intended to eat at the restaurant but there was an hour and a half wait and that was too long for our group. It was suggested to us that we go around the corner where they had seating and take out food. The offerings at 1:00 when we were there were minimal.

Origami in the Garden

By M943CSwilliamh |

The new origami exhibit is truly worth seeing - don't miss it! Outside ones are metal and include descriptions of the folding techniques. Inside the orchid house are more traditional paper displays.

The lights were great!

By Ken Hendrix |

Great experience. My wife and I enjoyed the light show, and while the premium tickets are a tad pricey the atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend for the whole family or for an inspiring evening on a date night.

So disappointing

By Anna P |

For the price of admission ($35!!) it was disappointing. The Earth Goddess sculpture was completely unplanted and a couple other gardens were closed - and they didn’t bother to give anyone a heads up before buying a ticket. Make sure you ASK which exhibits are closed or unplanted BEFORE you go!

Beautiful Day at the garden.

By COBowden |

Beautiful even in the early spring. The orchid displays were amazing. The area is open and easily accessible for everyone.

What a pleasure to walk around!

By kleic |

There's a reason why this lovely place is at the top of people's lists of places to visit in Atlanta. In the middle of a wonderful park, it is beautifully maintained, easy to navigate, and filled with absolutely wonderful natural spaces. The bog garden and the orchid house were among our favorites but the whole place is just gorgeous and obviously cared for. If you are a member of a botanical garden in your hometown, ask if there's reciprocity as you may be able to come in for free.

A "don't miss" during good weather

By littleyacht |

Large and one of the most beautiful botanic gardens I've been to. We've gone multiple times and there's always something new to see because of the traveling exhibits. Don't miss the indoor displays, the Chihuly glass sculptures (3), and the topiary water feature. Allow several hours to see it all.

Bring back the energy and excitement

By Ashley B |

We went yesterday night, as we try to go annually around Christmas. I’m unsure if the Botanical Gardens have had budget cuts this year or some type of issues that have caused the experience to change, but this year was not nearly as good as the years prior. The budget should not be an issue because the ticket prices were more expensive this year and the exhibit was sold out most nights. I hope they bring back more music and energy. Whoever decided to change the way the Holiday Lights are running this year, it was a snooze fest. Change it back please, it’s far too expensive to be that lackluster.

Beautiful gardens and three Chihuly glass displays!!

By NPtraveler |

A beautiful garden that we felt like was an oasis, even in February. Early spring blooms are sprouting!! The orchid display was other-worldly. We ate at the restaurant with both a very nice hostess and server. Great food. Would love to see the garden in the evening with all of the lights. There are three Chihuly glass displays that are absolutely beautiful. Map for gardens was easy to follow. Parking was $11. GPS easy and takes you right to the parking area. We will return in April. It was a great experience.

A lot of nature!

By Olga Kollmann |

It is a spectacular place, there are many types of plants and unique places. It is very well decorated (L)

One of my favorite places!

By Ryan |

The botanical gardens are (by far) one of my favorite places in Atlanta! There are fascinating exhibits year-round supplemented with seasonal activities, specialized areas such as an edible fruit/vegetable garden with live cooking demos, and a great treetop canopy walk. One of my favorite places is the seed research and orchid lab. They also do special events and offer great perks if you sign up for a membership. It’s very affordable (going twice will pay for the full cost) and even allows for access to another botanical garden in Gainesville, FL. The botanical gardens have quickly become one of my favorite spots in ATL and I make sure to visit often.

The type of visit category didn't include the group I was with, which was a family of women.

By Hootieswife |

I was excited to go here but was a little disappointed with the place. I went looking for some of the items I saw in the website but they were no longer there. But worse than that was the poor signage. We wandered around trying to find exhibits (and ran into many other people who also appeared to be lost who asked us where we found certain things). On top of poor signage, we couldn't find a single person to ask questions of while wandering. I had to end up calling a person on the phone while I was in the place, to get answers to my questions. In addition, the website stated tickets had to be purchased in advance and charged a fee to make that purchase, so that our $24 ticket went up to $32. When we got there, however, they had an option to purchase tickets there at the window......another let down. The glass art was pretty. Didn't see much of anything else; definitely did not think it was worth the price I paid. 😩👎

Lights

By Lexi |

I went to see the Christmas light display and it was amazing. Lots to see you can spend a couple hours here. I enjoyed getting a spiked cocoa and just enjoying the lights and music.

I love gardens.

By Kr C |

It is smaller, but packed. I enjoyed the forest walk with the cultured stream, Japanese inspired garden, orchid house, overviews spots, and tiny conifer section. Would go again.

Spectacular Christmas lights

By Andy G |

What a special night of looking a Christmas lights. Especially loved the last section with the synchronized lights show and music. Couldn’t ask for a better event to attend with a 6 month old baby and 7 year old child

Atlanta Botanical Garden

By Marion B |

The gardens were lovely as were the pumpkin and Halloween exhibits throughout the garden which appealed to the children in our party. The staff who at the entrance were friendly and welcoming.
What we found tiresome was the lack of helpful signage and the useless map provided. The map didn’t help us navigate through the garden and we were continuously getting lost and having to retrace our steps to find where we wanted to go. This made walking round the garden less of a pleasure than it should have been.
Finding a cafe for a snack and a drink also proved a challenge. We were surprised that such a large garden should be lacking a choice of places to stop for refreshments. On the other hand there were plenty of restrooms available which were clean and accessible.

Not worth the visit

By Ngm888 |

The botanic garden is less than lovely. We went in May and there were barely any flowers or much of anything to see. It takes forever to leave so if you Uber, like we did, add a good 30 minutes to drive through the parking lot and slo exiting.at this time you need a timed ticket which needs to be marked in advance. We hadn’t, so we join as a member to be able to get it.

It’s okay if you want to walk around but compared to the Botanic Garden in Chicago, it has nothing to toot its horn about. I’d skip if if I’d only be here for a week.

Inflexible with a dishonest website

By Ian H |

Really unpleasant staff. They lie online about having to book tickets in advance and then if you turn up early with a pre booked ticket demand extra to let you in. Avoid.

Just amazing!!

By Hugh J |

They do a great job of keeping things new, Lots of beautiful flowers and views, this place has an amazing restaurant.

Loved Garden Lights!

By jerrys01 |

My wife, daughter and I attended the Garden Lights presentation at the Botanical Gardens. We all loved the various light displays, including two that synchronized music with the lights. The two highlights of the Canopy Walk were the Ice Goddess and the Nature's Wonders areas. The first combined lights with a large statue. The second had thousands (tens of thousands?) of various lights that were constantly changing. The other highlight was the Orchestral Orbs. These were various geometric shapes that constantly changed color and were synchronized with even more music.

The evening was a little expensive, but we spent about two fun hours here and had a really great time.

Mixed review: nice garden, no appreciation of patronage

By mesofuzzy |

The gardens were nice but we had a really hostile experience at the restaurant which unfortunately soured our visit.
After walking around the gardens in 90 degree heat my daughter and I popped by the cafe for a cold beverage and to cool down.
When we went to sit down in the seating area immediately adjacent to the cafe we were told that it was for bar customers only and that we couldn’t sit down. The seating area was entirely empty and accommodates 8+ ppl so my daughter and I could not have threatened their “bar” service. (The “bar” is more of a service bar so probably doesn’t get many walk-up customers) They then directed us to an outdoor terrace if we wanted to sit down. In the sun, in the heat.
At that point I ordered a sparkling water from the bar (this on top of the beverage and chips we bought from the cafe) so we could sit down. The bartender was super pissy with this easy (albeit cheap) workaround to their senseless, hostile “customer service” policy.
As paying customers of the Botanical Gardens (just spent $50 on admissions and a few bucks at the cafe) we expect to be treated as such.
What could have been a lovely garden outing was overshadowed by really weird, hostile customer service experience that left us feeling disregarded as patrons of Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

Magical

By Rachel S |

Wonderful botanical garden to spend quality and peaceful time with your loved ones. There are hips to do with your young ones. Things are magical at night.

The whole family loved it!

By Sarah F |

I loved walking through the different gardens and seeing all the varieties of plants. My daughter loved the amazing kids play areas and the space to run around. I thought this might be something we did for an hour or so, but we ended up staying 3 times as long as we planned. Definitely worth it on a pretty day.

Nice Day to look at Plants

By Ck_Nest |

This is a relaxing place to take the family. Bring water bottles in the summer. There are plenty of bathrooms which is nice.

We got the family pass which is good for other gardens as well.

Possibly the best botanical garden I've ever been to

By Valerie B |

Possibly the best botanical garden I've ever been to - and I go to them anywhere I travel! Loved the breadth of exhibits, the accessibility, and just the beauty of the gardens, fountains, artwork, and hardscaping.

Absolutely Breathtaking!

By angiefite1215 |

It's hard to describe such a beautiful place! Truly, you would have to see it for yourself. Christmas lights everywhere!!

it was fun

By Jala H |

it was so fun and pretty me and my friends had so much fun did not like the bugs but the rest of the trip was fun love all the effort that is put into the Botanical Gardens it is so fun and pretty I wish I had my own garden just like it the visit was amazing the flowers were amazing too I like the peacock it looks so pretty that one was my favorite it feels so nice to be there but I had to come home and I was so sad because botanical gardens was so much fun I'm coming back hopefully one day I will see botanical gardens flowers again again it was so super pretty

Awesome beauty!!!

By Team McLemore |

No amount of words and pictures can do this place justice!!! This is truly something that needs to be experienced to get the full depth of the beauty there!!!

A beautiful place to spend time

By Pferdina |

My first visit to the Garden. It was a very hot day, and even though I arrived soon after opening, it was already hot on the grounds. Parking is in a deck shared with Piedmont Park, and there were attendants directing me to open spots, although red/green lights above each spot also indicated full/free spaces which was a nice touch I have not experienced before.

Once past the ticket booth there were volunteers handing out maps and giving advice on what to see. The Alice in Wonderland exhibit includes nine special arrangements scattered around the grounds and one gets a pretty thorough exploration of everything by finding them all. The forest boardwalk was shady and cool(er), a little damp from the overnight rain. Some pretty pools and streams of water, a few pieces of sculpture and some interesting brickwork to view as one walks along the path.

There is a children's garden with some play equipment and a splash pad. I thought it looked very good for kids. There is an edible garden and outdoor kitchen that gives demonstrations (with samples) regularly. I viewed one of the demonstrations and tried a sample; there was seating in the covered kitchen area so it was a nice place to rest. In the greenhouse are a wide variety of plants, and also a tortoise and some amphibians. Lots to see in all corners and nice flat paved paths to follow. A small Japanese garden, plenty of benches to rest on, many water features.

There is a snack bar and, the day I was there at least, a cocktail bar near the restaurant, Longleaf. I went in to Longleaf for lunch to get out of the heat, and it was fine. I waited about 10 minutes for a table (the host collected my phone number and I got a text when my table was ready). They were out of iced tea so I asked for water, and I got exactly one small glass of water with my meal. The salad was very nice, especially on a hot day. Service overall was a little slow, and I would have appreciated a water refill, but otherwise I have no complaints.

Pictures won't do it justice

By Jeanelle S |

Beautiful!! Make the time to see this gorgeous place. Make a day of it so you don't have to rush. There is even a children's garden that allowed the kids to burn off some energy.

Magical

By samrdh2018 |

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden is a must see!! The lights are mesmerizing.

Come for the Xmas lights

By Stephen K |

We came specifically to see the Christmas lights cc’d & we were glad we did so. We had out 17 year old with with us & he enjoyed it every bit as we did. The amount of lights was amazing as was the display. Definitely worth a visit if it’s in season.

Incredible (But Not Cheap!)

By abroadwithashley |

The orchids are worth the trip alone - it’s the largest collection in the U.S. We didn’t even think about orchids before going and now we “get it.” And the surrounding grounds are absolutely stunning, plenty big with something for everyone. The gardens are not a free activity though. Just a tick under $30/person for tickets and parking will set you back around $15 if you’re there 3 hours. That said, we enjoyed our visit immensely and considered it one of the best things we did in Atlanta.

Beautiful garden

By livelife h |

Beautiful garden with a lot to see. There is a lot of walking. But the flowers and the sculptures are awesome. Friendly staff with a nice cafe

Bad customer service

By cat30189 |

I have a membership in another botanical garden in Georgia. I read you can visit other botanical gardens with your membership as part of a reciprocal program. Here’s what I read:

Gardens within 90 miles of the garden where you hold our membership can sometimes be excluded, so it’s best to call ahead, if you have any questions before visiting

Which is exactly what I did. I called The Atlanta Botanical Gardens and asked if the membership at my current botanical gardens allowed me to visit there. I was told a resounding yes. I was even told I could bring a guest.

We drove more than an hour to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, parked in the parking lot that charges by the hour. When we arrived at the gate we were told we could not use our membership from another garden to enter. I explained that I called specifically to ask if we could visit with my membership and told customer service where I had my membership. When I asked for a supervisor the young woman at smirked and was unpleasant. The person that was called in not so nice terms told us we could not enter. This could have been done in a better way. They could have offered a discount or even been a little nicer. We made the trip solely on the word of their customer service personnel. We decided to leave and not visit the garden, since the experience was ruined for us.

Beautiful gardens

By kfibbio |

Beautiful gardens, very spacious and lots to see. We spent almost 3 hours exploring. I would love to come back and see it in spring! Even with it being the winter there was still so many beautiful plant life to see.

Relaxing Girls Trip to ATL

By LNC2013 |

My friend and I went to ATL for a relaxation trip. The forecast called for rain for our whole trip. We took a chance and visited the garden 8/20/2022. The garden is very tranquil and unique. We did not get through the whole park. There are a few indoor garden features. Good for cooling off. They have a few stands for snacks and drinks. They have a gift shop. This is good for families, couples, and groups. I am glad we stopped by to experience the ambiance. I would like to come back for cocktails in the garden, it's in the evenings. Might be good for a date night with the hubby. Great place for pics as well. There's a pick and drop off area by the ticket stand/ entrance for an Uber or Lyft. We enjoyed our visit.. off to the Slutty Vegan-Edgewood! Food is calling.😜

Fabulous!

By marcytn |

There are two special exhibits right now: art in the air and glass art. They are so worth seeing. The glass flowers are stupendous, on top of the already beautiful flower and plant designs. Be sure to see the orchid display in its own building, along with the tropical trees and plants. The heat and humidity were a little daunting, but one suffers for beauty! There are plenty of places to sit under trees and rest and regard nature.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens is a must see !

By sunshineday65 |

Lovely botanical gardens. As an orchid lover, I decided to visit the ABG and see what the displays were on a cold day in Atlanta. WOW. They were offering Garden Nights but I really wanted to view the plants (especially tropical plants) during daytime as Christmas lights in November were now ubiquitous. The Mother Earth waterfall garden was a delight and is iconic in many postcards of Atlanta. Simply breathtaking. See the pictures and then go see for yourself...!

GREAT VISIT

By Becky V |

We recently visited the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the lights show. What a treat! Beautiful! we had a great time.
Very safe with social distancing!

Beautiful gardens should recommend it to anybody in the atlanta area taking a trip overall one of the best gardens I have been to.

World Class Garden Experience

By John C |

A world class botanical garden experience. Definitely in the top five on my list and I’ve been to many all over the world. Well designed so that you can experience everything in a few hours. Well shaded and extremely accessible for all visitors. Absolutely beautiful floral and sculptural displays that are well labeled. Great for folks of all ages.

Loved this place

By Stefano |

Great place to spend a few hours and enjoy nature. Place is manicured very well. You can also buy liquor/drinks in the park and walk around and enjoy. I wouldnt go when its super hot and evenings before sunset are best times to go.

Botanical Gardens

By rlee |

The gardens are so beautiful and relaxing to walk through. We got there just after opening, so it wasn’t hot. I enjoyed the Alice in Wonderland Topiaries especially. The one that features Alice spins like she is falling down the rabbit hole. It was a relaxing morning and a great way to start the day.

Wonderful garden!

By caroline riv |

Wonderful botanical garden under the theme of Alice in Wonderland! I loved the singing flowers, the flowering sculptures, the huge greenhouses! Just fantastic

DELIGHTFUL PLACE TO VISIT

By PeterandLindaD |

Amazing place not to be missed! This is a wonderful botanical garden with amazing topiaries as an added beautiful creations to see. The theme during our visit was Alice's Wonderland and there were many incredible creations on this subject. The highlight is the permanent display of Earth Goddess, a beautiful huge creation made from plants not to be missed. Botanical Garden is a delight for all visitors.

Beautiful Plantings, Amazing Variety

By Athena53 |

My cousin, who's local, took me here. Not cheap- over $50 for the two of us- but it was worth it. Maintaining a garden with this quality and variety must take a tremendous amount of labor and expense. Some of the plantings change seasonally, especially the fanciful shaped forms. The current exhibit had "Alice in Wonderland" figures. I especially loved the orchid collection. I've never seen such a variety.

Beautiful & serene. Must visit

By LKC |

We got our tickets beforehand online and arrived 15-20 minutes before our time slot, good thing because there was a decent line of cars to get in and park. It was a Sunday afternoon though, so to be expected. There wasn’t much of a line to get tickets but I had them on my phone to walk right in anyways. Every area of this place is beautifully thought out. There are places to eat and little spots for drinks all throughout. My fiancé and I spent almost 3 hours here and could’ve stayed longer if we didn’t have more carved out for our day. Definitely something to include in your trip!

Magical Experience for All Ages

By J R |

I visited the Atlanta botanical garden during the Garden lights, holiday nights event and was blown away by the stunning displays of lights and colors. The garden is huge and has something for everyone...exotic orchids and metal sculptures...White Rabbit and the skynet. Friendly staff. Great visit for family and friends!

Save your money

By Chyna B |

Very disappointing. Staff gave poor directions to the entry, and my service animal (clearly vested with ID) was denied use of his stroller even though signs said strollers & wheelchairs were allowed. I was told there was no safe place to leave it, so I had to walk back to my car for my cane. Inside, there were very few exhibits, some lights weren’t working, and bathrooms needed attention. After years of waiting to attend, it felt underwhelming and unwelcoming. Honestly, save your money.

Delighted to spend two hours

By Kate320 |

My 17 year old son and I spent a couple of hours touring the gardens before we went to the airport, early on a Sunday morning and it was really a pleasure. So many great views of Atlanta, places to sit and beautiful things to look at. We both enjoyed the time walking around and learning a bit about what and why things had been planted together. The overall effect is very visually appealing - great place to visit with small kids.

Great Place to go!

By David W |

Best time is in the spring, but great year round! Kids will need to be watched in the desert area, it’s a bit sharp.

Perfect for Girls Weekend/Ladies Day Out

By Donna D |

If you're looking for a great girls day out, or girls weekend get away in Atlanta - The botanical garden is the best place to start!! It's relaxing, rejuvenating & they serve WINE🍷 for your experience! Perfect for a before Spa Day!

My friend from our of town was visiting and we spent the afternoon at the botanical garden strolling down all the paths soaking in the beautiful exotic flowers & exploring all the different gardens. The water falls and shaded resting areas were perfect during the heat of the day. Perfect Instagram photo opts at every turn!

Tip: I recommend going either morning or evening times as the mid-afternoon is sweltering in Atlanta during summer. Also, bring an empty water bottle and fill up at the water fountains free of charge - since they don't allow outside drinks once you enter with your ticket.

Nature in the city

By Susan E |

If you like flowers and are in Atlanta would recommend the lovely Atlanta Botanic Gardens. Alas there is no senior discount and I ordered a yogurt fruit parfait which had moldy fruit, so did the replacement. I got a refund and realized when I got my credit card statement that I got shorted $1 on the refund. Aside from that the children’s garden is outstanding as is the Earth Goddess which is not to be missed.

Great Light Show to take Family or Date night

By AbdallaM1 |

This is place is amazing all year but especially during the Holiday Season with the most amazing display of lights. I have attended 2x and its always a great show. Great warm drinks for Adults and Children.

Really good

By Kevin C |

I was here with my friends. We visited Atlanta. You have to try this. Really good atmosphere and the price isn't too high.

Relaxing Nature Retreat

By Nicole C |

We loved the Orchid Exhibit and how beautiful the whole place was. We had two special needs teens with us and they were loving the nature and quiet beauty of it all.

Purchase tickets online and you must wear a mask in all indoor areas.

Hidden Downtown Gem

By JessHays |

This is an excellent garden with many well designed beds and displays. When we visited, they had an “Origami in the Garden” exhibit, which was really interesting. There are a lot of fun trails to explore, a few smaller buildings with orchids and other plants, and tons of interesting plants. Also, they rent scooters if you have trouble walking, which I think is great. I would definitely return and recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good garden!

Disappointed. Parts of the garden were closed off and the rest looked unhealthy. Did we come in the wrong season?

By LLH |

Did we come in the wrong season? Parts of the garden were closed off and the rest looked brown and unhealthy. We were disappointed

Check it out!

By David C |

I can see why this is rated as one of best gardens to se in the US. I have been to a few and while they all are beautiful, the Atlanta one has the Earth Goddess (no blooms in October), the Orchid/rain forest/desert area and just a wonderfully decorated environment (we went right before Halloween). Unfortunately, not many plants are named but using your iPhone takes care of that! I was disappointed to not visit certain sections due to maintenance or a private function.

Absolutely stunning!

By Hsteinmiller |

Superbly gorgeous gardens with easy pathways. Stunning flowers, especially the orchid house. A beautiful place to visit.

Pretty good

By Willie H |

Really enjoyed the area. Lots of tulips. Lots of pretty views from the park. My wife and I enjoyed it. Will probly come back during the fall next time.

Wonderful

By JohnMary75 |

Lovely way to spend a day! We took our grandchildren who were visiting from St. Louis and it was a perfect family activity. Exciting enough for them but not too difficult for 2 older people with limited mobility to get around. If you’re bringing kids be sure to spend time checking out the carnivorous garden!

Beautiful place to visit

By Lyssa1536 |

We visited in September and Initially we thought it would be lackluster with it not being Summer and prime bloom season, but that was not the case. There were sooo many plants and structures to see. It was a lively place and beautiful to walk around.

Instant Mental Uplift

By Angie H |

Great for any age, but this particular stop included just me and the husb (our teenagers were not interested this time). Many spring flower blooms were alive w/ brilliant colors which was a much welcomed instant mental uplift coming from a snow-laden,drawn out winter in IA. Orchids were astounding! Outside walk on concrete path was great for my muscles, eyes, ears and nose. Would definitely revisit! Bummed that the Goddess display was just in the beginning phases of being filled in with flowers, but was neat to see the base of her w/o flowers too.

Very frond of this place

By Kate Altick |

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is GORGEOUS, I can't believe I have never come here before. I went for the Alice in Wonderland special exhibition because I am a huge fan of the story and characters, and it was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back. There is so much to see, and after 4 hours there we still didn't see everything. It was so peaceful but was also exciting enough to hold our attention. Truly a delight.

A Glimpse of Paradise

By restrapo |

The walk through Piedmont Park to arrive at the Botanical Garden was a nice prelude to the splendor of nature, peace, and tranquility that I encountered in the Garden. I suspect one could spend easily four hours in the Garden. I specifically was there to see artwork installation of a friend and business colleague. Highly recommend the Garden.

Great

By Heaven M |

Loved visiting the gardens. Beautiful set up. Worth the visit. Just was a little hot for what I would have preferred but not their fault. Just plan accordingly as there is plenty of walking!

Beautiful gardens

By Cassie A |

Had a fantastic afternoon at the gardens! Everything is scenic and lovely- we especially loved the sculptures and scarecrows dotten around the grounds. As an aroid and orchid enthusiast, my favorites were the Fuqua Conservatory and Orchid Center. We will definitely return on our next trip to Atlanta!

Best Attraction in Atlanta

By Bigredmachine |

If you only do one attraction while in Atlanta, make it the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. We spent half a day here and loved every minute of it.
Hint, download PictureThis from the App Store for instance plant identification.

Favorite botanic garden is a lovely setting for an afternoon

By BCClass77 |

Atlanta’s botanic garden is a lovely place to engage all the senses ~ visually beautiful~ creative “rooms” and walkways of flowers and plants ~ interesting sculptures and a cafe with sandwiches for when you’re ready to sit and rest a bit too.

Very well worth it

By Valdez |

We went to with our 2 teenage daughters. We had lots of fun. Very nice and clean beautifully maintained. Lots of pictures were taken. We had a lot of fun learning about all the plants and flowers. The scenery is very breathtaking. We enjoyed our time here. It was nice to visit and relax. We toured the garden at our own pace. It is big and the time we went wasn’t overcrowded which was nice, gave us time to explore and take lots of beautiful pictures.if you like nature it’s a definite must visit. We ended up buying the membership because we will definitely be back.

Botanical wonderland

By Curious Cat |

Beautiful well kept, kiddie friendly. Loved the Alice in Wonderland exhibition. Orchids galore. Forest canopy walk.

Sunday evening stroll

By Kim |

Absolutely beautiful. The weather was nice the atmosphere was nice. The garden is well kept with so many flowers/tree and greenery to view. This was well worth the money spent. The food was good (a little pricey but good). Highly recommend for couples just to be able to get out and enjoy a nice evening stroll and conversation.

A joyful place to spend an afternoon

By Adriana M |

We just so happened to be in town for the origami in the garden exhibit. The origami is cool but honestly, the gardens are the absolute star. We really enjoyed rambling around the different gardens, looking at flowers/plants we've never seen, and sitting in the shade among all the pretty trees. This is an oasis amid a big city. I cannot recommend it enough. A big highlight for us was the edible gardens and the giant turtle in the rotunda.

Some Key Sites Closed

By Lynn R |

We visited on April 12th and were a bit disappointed. A few of the main features at the facility were either under construction or closed including Earth Goddess, which was noted as not being in bloom on the website but is actually completely void of all vegetation, the surrounding Goddess water feature was empty, the Orchid Center and Chapman Conservatory was completely closed and the Skyline Garden water fountain was empty. There is a lot of work happening which should make the tickets a bit cheaper while those sites are unavailable.

Just excellent!

By Gregory Maklari Kis |

We were here with my family for the Christmas lights exhibition. It cost a little expensive but it worth the money. My kids just loved it.

Beautiful place

By jcasb15 |

Absolutely gorgeous gardens. There are lots of areas to check out. It is a bit hilly, so keep that in mind. I would highly recommend it!

Nice, creative botanical garden

By Kevin |

This is a nice place to spend 2-3 hours walking around to see beautiful scenery. I admit I'm not the biggest fan of botanical gardens normally, but this is a good one to see. It's a little on the pricey side (we went on a Saturday so it was $30 for admission), but I'm glad I visited.

The Earth Goddess and Alice in Wonderland displays were under construction when we visited in the latter half of April unfortunately, but they were at least out for viewing so we could physically see them (not in full bloom of course), so at least we got to get an idea of what they would look like when they open later in May.

Even without that, there is plenty of gorgeous scenery all around the 30 acre garden. Fountains, indoor gardens, and flowers just starting to bloom considering it was spring time. Very colorful.

A little expensive, but nice place to check out. Plus, it's next door to Piedmont Park, so you can walk over there after your visit to get some more nature photos.

Gorgeous Tulips in March

By SoozClues |

My BFF and I visited in March on a rainy day. It wasn't ideal but we weren't deterred as we had come to visit the trolls. The tulips and orchids were gorgeous too; so many variegated varieties! We spent a couple of hours, meandering around and photographing things like crazy.

Great light show and solid COVID protocols

By sheilaoc |

We went into the light exhibit at 6:15 and people were totally masked up and social distancing. As the night went on, people seemed to be a bit less diligent about that, even though there were staff about every "block" with signs that said to wear a mask and stay distanced. Generally felt pretty comfortable as most of it is outside, and people were generally good.

For the light show itself - very impressive. We were particularly amazed by the "curtains of lights" behind the model train exhibit. We stayed in that area for about 20 minutes and the music never repeated as the strings of lights that engulfed us changed colors in a choreographed manner. It was truly incredible. We've been to light shows in several cities and have never experienced something so enthralling. Highly recommended.

Loved it

By drwatsonjd |

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. There were several different sections and each were very well done. We spent over 4 hours there exploring all the grounds. If I had one note, I would have liked more signage. There were times I loved a plant and there wasn't a sign to tell me what it was. Otherwise, I loved all the beautiful mature trees, plentiful benches and it never felt crowded.

SO much to see and smell!

By Robdro |

This is a beautiful place to visit anytime of the year. Our niece took us we were visiting Georgia. She had a annual pass so we were able to experience without paying. I don't remember the cost for non members. One of our family members has some mobility issues so we did a bit of bench sitting...there were plenty along the way which was critical to the enjoyment of the day.

Holiday garden lights is magical!

By Alexandria Dutcher |

Our family came for the holiday garden lights. I was a little concerned that it would an overpriced disappointment but it was not. The garden was stunning. There were several places that were set up like small light shows to music. The canopy walk was almost immersive with their windy path of rain shower of lights all around you. You could appreciate the view for hours, feeling like you were in the lights (you will understand once your there). There was plenty of seating throughout for anyone who needed a break, who wanted to soak in the lights, or just people watch. There was a fun DJ near a s’more station where families did some dancing. We were happily back in the car after about 75 minutes. Only downside- it was a standstill trying to turn into the garden from the main road because of a sold out night (about 20 minutes).

Great Way to Spend a Day

By Rick D |

Crazy that a place like this exists within such a large city like Atlanta! Beautiful way to enjoy a walk through nature, especially as fall is rolling in. I’m not normally a garden and flower guy but I’d recommend this anyway. Total time w/o lunch is like 2 hrs. Nice area for kids to play as well if you need a break from pushing a stroller too.

Peaceful

By Mich328 |

I so enjoyed this place. You must visit and enjoy the plants and calm. For those who are physically challenged, motorized scooters are available for rent. The oversized origami sculptures were beautiful. Maps were given to navigate the garden. I will return.

Nice gardens

By beth ann k |

While we enjoyed our visit, there wasn't much in bloom when we went. The paths are nice to walk and we would have eaten dinner at the restaurant but the last seating is at 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. (Even though the gardens are open until 8:00)

Beautiful place

By Alejandro P |

Is a great place to have a family time, spend some time walking through the different areas that are create on this botanical garden

A Blooming Oasis

By Calvin S |

Whether you have a passion for nature, an interest in photography, or are seeking a tranquil escape in the city center, the Atlanta Botanical Garden should be at the top of your list. This outstanding destination seamlessly blends education, entertainment, and the wonders of the natural world, solidifying its status as one of Atlanta's most cherished attractions.

Enjoyable, holiday lights preview

By Denise |

Well done garden, even though relatively few outdoor flowers in fall. Trails were nice to walk and seeing the final pre set ups for upcoming holiday lights was cool. They had a lot of stuf lit up even in the daytime. Beautiful display outside the orchid house too.

Lovely Respite

By TravelingMamaGlv |

Loved strolling around the expansive gardens. The canopy walk through the woods was fun and the orchid display was stunning. Always enjoy seeing a surprise Chihuly as well!

Elegant Gardens

By TravelingTrio |

I love the Alice in Wonderland theme! My toddler was terrified of the splash pad but the existence of it is very wholesome! Beautiful flowers and amazing engineering!

Amazing in every way

By Wanderlust3483 |

This place is exceptional in every way. I thought the aquarium would be the highlight of our weekend in Atlanta, but this by far was the best part. The winding path through the gardens is so relaxing and the greenhouses are out of this world amazing. Between the tropical plants and the orchids, I was blown away at every turn.

A must see when visiting Atlanta!

By TrvlNDuo |

We came here at the beginning of March before going to a show at the theater. We had a lovely spring day, and the gardens were beautifully maintained! Highly recommend!

Pleasant Surprise

By Lina |

My husband and I visited Saturday night, this was our first visit and it will not be our last! What a beautiful way to spend a Saturday night but still be close to lots of cute restaurants & shopping! We arrived at 7pm and left around closing at 9pm. Clean restrooms and water fountains provided throughout the park, easily accessible, fun photo ops and live music!

Interesting flower displays.

By MyWhiteCat |

Some lovely flower displays and interesting exhibits. The orchid exhibit is well set out and informative. However a lot of the displays are put on for show rather than being focussed on the botanic aspect of the gardens. Interesting artwork - definitely worth spending a few hours here.

Pretty lights

By Jin k |

Beautiful experience. We love the light show during the month of December. The adult drinks were amazing (the eggnog with Bourbon, to be specific). Make sure you go ahead of your ticket time as the car line get's congested.

Take a trip to see the Trolls

By Holly K |

Bought a reciprocal pass (works at certain gardens in Florida, too). Saved the $24.95 weekday entrance fee per adult for my husband and I. Did pay $13 for about 3 hours of parking, the website I found for 3rd party parking was out of date. Free for the first 30 minutes, then it is $3 for the first hour. Then $2 for every :30. If you lose your ticket $30.

Ticket booth #4 (at least it was on our visit) to show your pass and get your tickets to enter the garden. Two greeters hand out maps and show you the best way to see the gardens and Trolls (Thomas Dambo’s huge sculptures scattered throughout the gardens, made from recycled materials).

Rose, Japanese, Edible, Children’s, Orchid (mist known for) and so much more. Strolling along at a leisurely pace and just enjoying the smells and sights of each garden🥰

Go, so enjoy!!!

Underwhelming and overpriced

By Ablessed1227 |

We went yesterday night, as we try to go annually around Christmas. It was the worst it’s been in years. I hope they bring back more music and energy. Whoever decided to change the way the Holiday Lights are running this year, it was a snooze fest. Change it back please, it’s far too expensive to be that lackluster.

Garden Lights Holiday Nights is a must-see!

By Lori T |

We have visited several different holiday lights venues around the south over the years, but they all pale in comparison to the holiday lights at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Not just a light display, not just Christmas music - "Garden Nights, Holiday Lights" is an immersive experience that delights all the senses. My personal favorite was the choreographed curtain of light and sound that filled the woodland area. We sat in awe for over a half hour as we watched the colorful lights dance with the music. We also really liked the garden train area with several trains running through holiday villages. Roasting marshmallows at a fire pit for Smores was a great way to wrap up the evening. I applaud the efforts that the staff and visitors all took to ensure safety with social distancing, masks, and cleaning. Highly recommend this activity.

Calm learn and enjoy

By Alfred63 |

The botanical gardens cover a large area varying from a calming aboreal area to the humid orchid houses with much in between. Including the edible plants beautifully displayed
Worth every step and good coffee as well

Lovely!

By miscalane |

These gardens are gorgeous and in a natural wooded peaceful setting with easy to follow boardwalks and sidewalks. The greenhouse displays are lots of fun as well. The employees were so very kind and the gift shop could exist as a stand alone shop. Lots of places provided to sit and rest on a hot, hot day.

The only downside is the parking garage! It was immense, expensive, and practically empty. It’s there, you’ve got the space, just let people park so they can pay to visit the gardens.

Beautiful display of lights. Drink stations through out the walking path that offered coffee, hot chocolate, etc.

Unique Garden Experience

By Miss Savvy Travels |

First, I'd like to say we tried to attend on Monday and discovered the Botanical Garden was closed, so we walked through Piedmont Park and saw the Sky Canopy, making us excited to come back. We were also able to see one of the trolls on exhibit from the park side, so we knew the garden would be really cool. On Friday we Ubered over to the garden and spent about 2 hours walking around. We could have used a little more time, but we were happy to learn the Garden my coworker belongs to at her home in NC shares reciprocity with the ATL Botanical Garden and we didn't have to pay for our entry. If you are a membership at another location it pays to let them check for reciprocity.

The Garden is kind of like one long trail, or hallways of individual gardens, but the multiple walkways are very intricate pathways make it east to get lost. The sky canopy crosses over Piedmont Park so there are definitely two separate sections of the Garden. Of all the Gardens I've visited this one was nothing like - the engineering and design of the garden were very well planned. Each section is unique. 30 acres of flowers popping in colorful displays. Being we were there in May, I'm sure this is just a great time of year for the Garden but in speaking to some of the other visitors they said you have to return several times to appreciate all of it's beauty.

I particularly loved the side headed from the visitor center to the Skyscraper Garden. Almost like a secret garden of tranquility the way it is set up feels so much like the green of nature, iron, brick and wood all work together so aesthetically. The lotus pond and orchids were outstanding. I sat down in the middle of the rose garden to literally smell the flowers and try to take it all in. Of course, the Trolls and Earth Goddess are impressive. I believe a lot of people attend just to see these already. Highly recommend.
I do have a travel blog with more details of the entire Atlanta trip and lots of ideas for how to enjoy your time in this City (and others). It is linked to my bio.

Our favorite thing in Atlanta!

By TXMARTINS |

We moved from the West Coast & have had a hard time finding great outdoor activities that have good COVID precautions or many overall safe walkable areas. The Atlanta Botanical Gardens has great membership packages, lots of trails & walkable areas and is family friendly. Reservations available for outdoor or indoor seating at their Kingleaf restaurant. Great menu items & cocktails.

Tip: Make Holiday lights an annual tradition & way up on the roof for great views & a fireplace!

Thanksgiving Trip

By yanya2017 |

We went to Christmas lights. Very beautiful and has lots to see. They make it an enchanting experience.

Spring Break

By K J |

Pretty but not impressed. Not much was blooming. Several areas under construction. The section that was supposed to be the Azalea garden was horrible. What Azaleas?? None with flowers and only a few with a green leaves. It looks more like a wooded area that they built a walkway and fence around. Very disappointed.

Beautiful Gardens.

By ReoPanco |

This place is beautiful. Youcan do it in about three hours, but be ready to walk.Try to go Thurs., Fri., or Saturday. They have music and serve cocktails. And the Trools are mega-cool.

Gorgeous Gardens in Atlanta

By tracybar |

Despite what season it is, the gardens are always great to visit. They do a great job of keeping things new and interesting exhibits so you can see more than just the epic flowers and foliage. If you're going there seasonally during the lights, definitely plan on getting there 45-an hour earlier than your ticket time just due to the parking garage. Normally, visit on a week day during school hours to avoid the crowds.

Art among plants!

By danamc01 |

This garden was exceptional! We really enjoyed it. The minute you turned into the gardens you knew it was going to be nice. We went to see the Alice in Wonderland display. How unique and special. It is amazing what they can do with flowers and greenery. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole place. My personal favorites were the large plants, lily pad ponds and the Alice in Wonderland displays.

Garden lights are spectacular

By Mark T |

We met travelled as a party with kids as young as 6 to a wheel chair bound grandma and they all loved it. The lights are spectacular and it was a wonderful multi generation experience.

Beautiful Sight

By Ceci |

A lovely experience it was. You can spend hours just looking at each plant. Make sure to grab your camera because you will certainly want to take pictures of all the beauty this place holds. I was able to buy tickets online the day of my visit within the hour of attending. There are places to rent out for events (there was a baby shower in progress while I was there). Also, this place has an amazing restaurant that my friend and I enjoyed. This is a great place for family, friends, dates or solo trip.

Beautiful Way toSpend an Afternoon

By deborah l |

This is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. There wasn’t a lot in bloom when we visited but there are always exhibits and gardens to enjoy.

It's like stepping into a green paradise!

By Maddison P |

The Canopy Walk was a personal favorite, feeling like I was in a treetop adventure. Plus, there are cool events happening all the time. Can you imagine a concert surrounded by flowers? Because that's a thing here! If you're into nature, flowers, or just looking for a chill day surrounded by beauty, the Atlanta Botanical Garden is a must-visit.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

By KBDOR |

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful! Lots of beautiful flowers, trees, and statues everywhere you look! Nice paved walking paths and gift shop with snack options!

Take your time

By nicolediane |

We bought a family pass which included 2 adults, grand kids and a couple guest passes. If we go one more time we will save a bunch of money. Plan to go back in the spring.

The garden is a lot bigger than we expected. We wandered around for over an hour and didn't see everything. We all enjoyed the orchid center. Such beauty.

Even though we were there on a weekday it was crowded. We enjoyed the origami exhibit. They had a scavenger hunt list for the kids to keep track of the origami and that made it fun.

They could use a few more directional signs.

Wonderful way to spend an Afternoon

By geomom01 |

Wonderful Beautiful place to enjoy an afternoon. They have many nice areas from a Japanese Garden to the Conservatory. And with the addition of the glass art through out the gardens and the aerial art, it is a delight. Here is my one tip, if it is a hot day and you are suffering from the heat, head to the conservatory and go into the high altitude room which is very cool, probably below 70 degrees.

Horrible service

By Tiffany P |

I wouldn’t spend one penny here had horrible service never going again. I expected so much more. 😡😡😡

Great light show

By ElleAdventures92 |

We went for the Christmas lights. The lights were gorgeous and it had a good flow.

We splurged for the premium flex ticket so we were able to skip the line. We also got a drink ticket.

Overall the tickets were worth it and I would go again.

Nice

By zdaati |

Interesting but rather expensive at 26 USD. Not sure it is worth that but some nice areas to walk and see. Nice to walk through and not difficult. Parking is there as well. The park is free close by so have a walk through, there is a lake.

Great Visit

By bryan p |

Great visit. The Christmas lights are phenominal! Parking was good. There was plenty of hot chocolate and snacks to eat.

Very very nice

By Christian Soehring |

Nice settings, landscaping and overall infrastructure
Flowers, plants, trees and origamis all came nicely together
Must visit in Atlanta

Relaxing Trip

By Carma L |

We had an incredible time! The holiday lights were enchanting. It's a perfect spot for those who love plants and flowers.

Don’t go in Winter

By Kevin B |

I feel like I need to come back not in winter. I knew it was less than ideal time for botanical garden but there basically was nothing to see besides the greenhouses and a few glass sculptures. One of the biggest botanical gardens I have been to besides Dallas. $35 plus $9 to park is steep. I feel like there should be an off-season price. Enjoyable stroll but otherwise felt like I wasted my money.

Night of lights

By Tanishia |

This was my first time visiting the Botanical Garden and I was blown away. Still not sure what it looks like during the day time.. but that light show was amazingly beautiful!! When I visit Atlanta again I will visit during the day time.

Excellent Experience

By Kathy G |

What a relaxing, refreshing way to spend time in Atlanta. There were many areas to explore. As it was a hot day, the indoor exhibits were welcomed. The origami structures were amazing. I would suggest having employees throughout the grounds to answer questions. We did not see one employee outside of the welcome center.

Gorgeous!

By mgtravel |

Everything was gorgeous! We went on a couples trip, it’s definitely worth the price. There is a restaurant in the garden - it’s decent. I wouldn’t recommend going during the really hot months in GA (late May through August). Kids might get bored but it’s great for adults, especially if you enjoy plants and flowers.

Beautiful and Inspiring!

By Mike A |

This is a must-see in Atlanta. Great place to stroll; excellent children's play area including a splash pad; fantastic gardens, and even a nice gift shop.

Beautiful gardens

By Doris B |

Spring was in full bloom! Loved well manicured landscapes and beautiful walking paths. In door Orchid display was amazing and walking paths were pleasant and relaxing with benches to take in the sights.

What garden?

By Riotgreen |

The goddess was under construction and not much else was blooming. There were tulips everywhere so if you like them great but not a great variety either. The Japan garden was smaller than a New York apt. The greenhouse with orchids did not have any special or rare species worth note. Overall just visit your grandma’s house.

Wonderful

By Helen C |

Loved the Earth Goddess and the Trolls! The gardens are extensive. It took us 4 hours to cover the grounds. There is a high-end restaurant, and entertainment & cocktails on some evenings. Parking is pricey though.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden never disappoints.

By Delores T |

A friend and I returned and the garden was again wonderfully refreshing R and R as she supports her husband in a very difficult hospice situation. In every season, the garden and its staff never disappoint.

Incredibly amazing

By Jill U |

This was incredible!! We were especially blown away by the Conservatory (including the Orchid center) Absolutely amazing. If we lived nearby, I would absolutely get a membership. 100% recommended!

Lovely way to spend a few hours in Atlanta

By Travellover |

Always a lovely place to stroll under the canopy and walk through the orchid house. The Chihuly glass sculptures throughout the grounds are spectacular and the Longleaf restaurant has Chihuly paintings and delicious food! I try to visit at least 4-6 times a year to see the different flowers.

Fabulous

By Lorraine |

We had a very enjoyable day at the botanical gardens and we would highly recommend visiting here if you are in Atlanta. The gardens are wonderful with so much to look at and see.

Excellent Outing During Covid Season

By coach m |

This place is just a great opportunity in Atlanta. I am glad it's here. It has a lot of variety to each layer.

Must do Atlanta

By TheTravelistas |

Allow yourself an entire day. This really is a full day experience. So much to see. Get there early and take your time. Wonderful experience. The orchid garden and edible garden were my fav.s.

Christmas Lights

By JackiM68 |

Went with the family to view the Christmas display. What a beautiful arrangement of lights/music. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous Gardens - a MUST see!

By vschickie |

We visit annually, usually for the Garden Lights, Holiday Nights event. It is spectacular! Buy your tickets in advance. There is paid parking onsite, but you could just as easily get dropped off by lyft or uber. Best after dark. Dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes as it is outside. They do have onsite bathrooms and areas to grab a drink or a light bite.

Atlanta Holiday Favorite

By Liz Yang |

The Botanical garden during the holidays is a magnificent sight to behold. There are beautiful light installations with the myriad of plants and foliage. You can walk through the experience with family and friends. They’re set to festive music and motion. There are large sculptural pieces too. This is an iconic Atlanta holiday tradition.

A must when visiting Atlanta

By rosyjoesph |

The Fall is a wonderful time of year to visit their beautiful Botanical Gardens. There is so much beauty to take in. A stop at their orchid conservatory is a must when visiting. If you love orchids, this is the place for you. There is a large variety of orchids.

Worth returning

By janasgoad |

There were so many spectacular features to the garden. We felt like we were rushing but we were there for almost 6 hours…just SO much to see. We lucked out to be here during the origami exhibition…wow! Hero’s Horse and the sunflowers were our favorites of the metal origami. The Chihuly pieces were beautiful. The orchid house was our favorite. We plan to return before our trip ends.

Beautiful gardens, wait until the end of April for best visit

By 29Kiwi |

We really enjoyed our time here. The Chihuly art is fantastic. However, the star of the show is the "Goddess" and she was not in bloom when were went. That was disappointing but there are plenty of other things to see. But, if you are going to see the "Goddess" or the Alice in Wonderland topiaries, wait until the end of April.

Lush and Lovely!!

By Brent F |

We have been to many many many botanical gardens and are members at Longwood Gardens, so it takes a lot to impress us, but this place blew us away. Loved the Trolls exhibit and the outdoor spaces were incredibly well done. It is larger than life and all around you.

Beautiful but OVERPRICED

By Herewegoonvacation |

I visited here with my wife. The place was beautiful. It was like a sterile Disneyland garden. I do not feel it was worth $25 per person to walk around here. The forests in Georgia are far more magnificent and are free to visit. But, if one is downtown dealing with hectic business and needs a place to escape, this would fit the bill, even if the bill is quite high.

Underwhelming

By jacobchappellNC |

Me and my wife had a trip to Atlanta and decided to do the gardens instead of the aquarium. The pictures online had some neat exhibits like Alice in wonderland. Upon arriving we started to find a parking spot which took a while. The parking deck is narrow and small. We did find a spot and headed inside. The price was high for wha we got. I’m from NC and we have several gardens so I’m familiar with the setup l. The Japanese garden was extremely small and uneventful. The bridge while near to be in the air had no real exhibits but a nice ribbon overhead. The after hour drinks where cheaply made but way over priced. It was so hot though we had to have something and why not try a cocktail. This was a sad excuse for a cocktail by the way. We got two drink and one literally was half full while the other was overflowing? Not sure how they measure. Trying to find an employee well that’s impossible unless your at the entrance. The one we did find moving can drinks got overwhelmed by several of us asking questions. The size of the park is impressive. But notice I said park. It feels more like a park and less like a garden in most spots. The indoor exhibits lead from on to another through a series of doors. I couldn’t rate it a 2 but a 3 is generous. I would recommend either going in spring or going to another attraction if your time is limited. It was not as advertised. We had cheap cocktails, no live music and no themed exhibits.

Wonderful visit with surprisingly delicious lunch!

By Mary B |

I visited the ABG on a recent trip to Atlanta. I found myself there around 1 p.m. in need of some sustenance. I decided to give the cafe at the garden a try. The hostess greeted me with a smile and I was seated promptly. My server was prompt and personable. I was a little concerned when I saw a lot of the other patrons eating hamburgers and fries, but the menu also offered a "mini cheese plate" and a "power bowl" which were both delicious. The manager, Brandon, stopped by my table to see how I liked my lunch. "Five stars!" I would definitely visit the garden again and would not hesitate to eat in the cafe.

Carnivorous Plants!!!!

By Adrian B |

Incredible botanical garden. So much to see. Heaven for any plant lover. The main tropical greenhouse is magical. There was an amazing display of carnivorous plants! I loved it.

Fantastic holiday light display

By Lori T |

Last night, we visited the Garden Lights, Holiday Nights display at Atlanta Botanical Gardens. It was magical! Well designed light displays filled the garden, providing a totally immersive and wonderous adventure. The garden was full of joyous people, but still enough room to wander and enjoy. We had dinner at the Longleaf restaurant. Our food was prepared perfectly, and the service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Came for the Lights!

By nawaz_nancy |

We loved coming to the gardens at night for the lights! It is so beautifully decorated and lively. There is music, plenty of staff to remind people to keep their masks on, and scenic areas for pictures.

You ruined Christmas, must be all about the money!

By Cosmosvisit |

We were turned away an the main entrance with timed tickets at 5:30. One hour later we finally get parked at the Monroe st lot. Cooperate events had the top two floors of parking.
The park was crowded and vending had long lines.
Another friend was turned away with timed tickets and told by garden workers to leave and take Marta down and walk in. VERY POOR SHOWING GUYS,!
I have been a member for years. Maybe no more and no more lights. YOU RUINED CHRISTMAS!
I guess it is all about the money!
I wrote on your site, no response.

Mobility scooter rentals

you are looking to rent a mobility scooter while at the Aquarium. Contact Total Access Mobility Services. They are the best in town with a low rental per day compared to other places.

Longleaf restaurant

By Yuxi |

Highly recommend visiting the well tended and large Botanical Garden! Was sorry that I did not have a full day to explore the garden. The orchids were splendid!

I did not have a good experience eating at the Longleaf restaurant. I was solo so I was aware of when I arrived and when food was delivered after being ordered versus other diners. My waiter was training another server and seemed to forget about me while he was walking around inside and outside to explain the restaurant to his trainee. I ordered the Smoked Portobello Tartare which should not have taken over 15 minutes to be delivered to my table when the restaurant was not even half full and more like a quarter full when I arrived. The waiter never came to my table to indicate that the meal would be served soon or within x number of minutes. As a trainer, he failed to teach his trainee that the focus should be on their client.

I thought that the Tartare was overly spicy, which overwhelmed the flavor of the smoked portobello mushroom.

Very nice gardens with lots of variety (parking not included in ticket price)

By Augusta_Chuck |

We have been to quite a few botanical and estate gardens over the years and the Atlanta Botanical Garden was in the upper tier of those we have visited. The wide variety of trees, plants and flowers on display made for a very interesting 4-5 hours. The garden was not crowded on a Thursday afternoon. We especially enjoyed the orchids and other indoor exhibits. And we appreciated the efforts that have gone into bringing so many unique plants from around the world and from very different climates than the one we have here in the SE United States. All that being said, our experience ended on a bit of a sour note when we had to pay a rather significant fee for parking on top of what we had already paid for entry to the gardens. As best we can tell, there is no mention about parking or parking rates on the garden website, and neither my wife nor I can recall seeing much signage about that as we drove in. As a result, we assumed that the parking was included. However, we subsequently found out that the rates are on the website, just not where we expected to find them. Just be prepared to pay $4 per hour for parking ($30 daily maximum) when you leave.

Amazing urban forest

By aspiringtraveler2013 |

This is an extraordinary botanical garden. So many stunning features! The Secret Garden on steroids. We were especially fortunate that the temperature was in the high 60s and sunny--it could not have been a more postcard day. My favorite attractions included the 20-foot Earth Goddess living sculpture, the Chihuly installations, the trolls, and the platform bridges throughout the forest under the canopy of trees. It was so gorgeous and peaceful. I'm not even a plant person! Definitely this should be on your Atlanta must-see list. We combined our trip to the Garden with a visit to the Arts District--it was an easy 15 minute walk. Such a great area of the city.

Light Up The Garden

By Smiley M |

Another amazing light show and the weather made it better. I was happy it wasn't too crowd. I have family visiting so, I will go back again.

Magical

By JoAnne E |

We were at the garden for a wedding. The venue was lovely and he food delicious. Because of the time of year, We were able to see the scarecrow exhibit and the origami exhibit. Both were lovely. As a result, we didn’t pay that much attention to the grounds.
The only issue was when we left the wedding we GOT LOST!!!! we wandered the grounds for about 20 minutes. I think exit signs should be a little better marked at night.

Totally enjoyable visit. Mesmerizing.

By Peter V |

While the price for bottled water was ridiculous ($9+), everything else about this venue was very impressive! Beautiful gardens! Drink often from the water fountains if you visit in the summer as the outdoor temperatures and humidity can be stifling, as can some of the indoor tropical gardens. But it was all worth it as the tropical gardens, formal gardens, orchid gardens, edible garden, rose garden, etc. etc. were flawless and gorgeous.

A place to feel renewed

By Gaëlle |

I felt peaceful, meditative, and energized. I plan to return within the next 6 months to spend more time.

Holiday Lights at Atlanta Botanical Gardens

By Gregory M |

We recently enjoyed a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens during their Holiday Lights event. What a magical experience. The trees are wrapped in lights, there are huge strands of lights hanging from the trees in the Sortza Woods flashing in tune to piped-in music, and statures and lighted fixtures everywhere. I highly recommend this event to anyone living near Atlanta or planning to visit during this time of the year. The event runs from mid-November to mid-January.

Great Fun

By Jason G |

This place should be on your short list when visiting Atlanta. Really pretty gardens with stuff that all ages will enjoy. Is also set amongst a big park, so there's plenty to do in the area.

Absolutely Beautiful

By Jessica G |

Absolutely beautiful gardens, a huge variety of plants to enjoy. If you are looking for a relaxing and beautiful escape, I highly recommend this! Parking was available for a reasonable cost (I think around 3/hr) and cocktails and food was available for purchase inside the garden.

Cool Alice in Wonderland display

By Madame_Trey |

It's difficult to find activities appealing to teenagers. When my daughter suggested the botanical garden, I was shocked. She had done her research and the Alice in Wonderland displayed was EXTREMELY instagrammable and was a must visit on our trip to Atlanta.

The gardens are spectacular with drool worthy picture options at every turn. I personally found the signage not clear. Interactive maps would have been better. In addition, while there were explanatory signs at each display for Alice in Wonderland, a large pictorial connection to the book would have more impact side by side.

The gardens are a welcome reprieve to the concrete jungle of Atlanta. I noted that there is a restaurant serving brunch and cocktails and would happily book on a return visit.

The Most Beautiful Garden we have ever been to

By pneon99 |

We traveled to Atlanta and this was on of the stops we were excited to see and boy were we not dissapointed. This place is HUGE and it is absolutely beautiful. The huge art exhibits millions of flowers and beautifully kept garden is simply breathtaking. One of the highlights being the Moana like flower waterfall and the huge bridges overlooking the forest and the beautiful orchid house. You can easily spend 2-3 hours looking and walking all over this garden. Something i wanted to call out was the fact their children area bathrooms had a free suntan lotion dispenser in the bathroom for children which is an amazing idea i wish more places would implement. Worth everything we paid for entry and more.

So peaceful and beautiful

By lauriebee |

The garden was very tranquil and beautiful. We took a number of amazing pictures. The Chihuly sculptures were a wonderful addition to the gardens.

A must see when in Atlanta.

Overall great experience

By Lynn A |

We had a really great experience. The holiday lights consistently deliver a great family event. Our adult daughters took us and now we know that all those times we took them to museums, plays, etc, it has paid off! We especially love the DJ outside the orchid house. The tunes were great! When we last attended the Lights in 2020, another excellent DJ was there. We loved going through the greenhouse and we said, "If we don't make it to the Botanical Gardens again this year, we at least went today"

A must see!

By Tammy S. |

Such a beautiful location and a must see in Atlanta! The flowers and art blend together beautifully. Adult tixs around $25.00, but well worth it. The Earth Goddess is truly a site to behold.

Poor Customer Service

By Shea A |

We attended the Holiday Lights show. We are members and didn’t realize that we had to pay for parking. We arrived a little bit early and the employees wouldn’t let us in to use the bathroom. My Husband is Type 1 diabetes so this was a serious matter. Another time during our visit one of the employees wouldn’t let us go in the same door that we came out. Again my husband was denied the emergency need for a bathroom. None of the staff were friendly during this entire visit. We are strongly considering not renewing our membership. Afterall, what is the benefit worth when you’re treated with such lack of empathy and respect?

Gem in Atlanta

By photoguy_10 |

We spent a couple of wonderful hours enjoying the gardens. The variety, layout, design, and flow were excellent. A great place to bring family or just go by yourself.

A must see in Atlanta!

We really enjoyed our time at the Botanical Garden - at first we were a little surprised by the entrance fee, but overall ended up being worth it (and if you could really spend a few hours it would be even a better deal). Lots of different areas to explore!

A nice garden in the middle of a busy city.

By smokeylinks |

It is a well-maintained garden with a large variety of trees and plants. It has one large greenhouse for a tropical environment and another large greenhouse to exhibit orchids. The paths are easily walkable even for people who walk with a cane. We would like to see more labels on the trees and plants.

It was OK.

I can only review what I experienced on my trip in late September. I have no doubt it would be better in the spring. Anyway.... First, I would not recommend the timed tickets. We had tickets for 4 pm and decided to see if we could enter at 1 pm because we completed our first attraction more quickly than expected. We were told we could not enter before 3:45 pm (even thought the garden was not crowded) unless we upgraded our tickets to a "Flex' ticket for $5 per each (which we did). With the virus, I understand the reasoning for timed tickets. I am just letting everyone know that it was not crowded (at least on a Thursday) and that you could easily walkup (with no waiting) and purchase a ticket for immediate entry. That way, you don't have to worry about arriving on time.

As far as the garden, there are two main sections. The first section we visited had very few flowers (again, it is fall). I was feeling like I spent $56 for two individuals to walk on a concrete path through the woods. The second section did have more flowers, but for me, it was not worth the price. I should note, that I am not a "flower person". My partner seemed to enjoy the gardens much more than I did. I just didn't feel like what I saw was worth the price of admission.

Always a wonderful experience

By William D |

This is one of the best places to visit in Atlanta. There are many walking trails, most paved. The scenery is beautiful. During some holidays such as Christmas they have spectacular displays of light, it's a veritable winter holiday wonderland. During the spring, summer and fall it's an awesome display of the various flora that can be found in the area. I highly suggest the annual membership, it's well worth the money. If you live locally I suggest riding your bike or walking here so you don't have to concern yourself with the parking.

Not worth making repeat visits - One and done would be my recommendation

By CraftBeers |

I am changing my opinion on the Botanical Gardens. I wrote a five star review when I visited in March 2020 just before the shut down. I have been three more times since then including a few days ago. I have yet to make a visit where this place is fully in bloom. In all cases, the feature exhibits were "down for maintenance". With four separate visits over two years under my belt (March, April, October & December), I've never seen the mermaid exhibit in bloom. The Alice in Wonderland exhibit has been torn out and not replaced.

The garden is not planted for seasonal blooms. When I visited in March 2020 there were very little in the way of blooming flowers. When I visited in April 2022 I was too late for the tulips, all the Orchids were sold for Easter, and the rest of the garden had virtually no blooming plants.

I am now of the opinion that visiting the Botanical Gardens in Atlanta is not worth it. It's okay for a one-time experience. However, you are paying for a chance to maybe see something new each visit. More likely the exhibits will be in repair or just not blooming.

Trip to see the Atlanta Botanical Garden lights.

By Rosemary O |

The Atlanta Botanical Gardens was beautiful. We spent 2 hours wandering around and enjoying the beautiful night. We spent extra on our ticket which gave us special glasses and a drink ticket. There was a range of prices for drinks, but the ticket covered anyone you wanted. Get there early because parking seemed to fill up quickly. We walked around Piedmont Park which is right next to the gardens till it was our time to go in.

Tranquil and Serene, 5 stars

Wonderful time strolling the grounds and enjoying the extraordinary topiary art. Perfect arboreal oasis in the heart of the city.

Girls day in Atlanta

By Ronda M |

I absolutely loved this garden. I was a little disappointed that the Goddess was getting her nails done. She was not in bloom and awaiting to be replanted. The day was gorgeous and the areas were well cleaned. Every area was easy to be socially distanced. Both rooms were few and far between. Make sure you grab a map and figure the layout out so you don’t miss anything

Over Crowded

By Mr and Mrs P |

The good: the gardens are meticulously kept. You can tell a lot of time has been taken to care for all the trees and plants. The gardens were pretty, and the layout of the botanical garden is beautiful. The bad: even after pre-purchasing "timed admission tickets" as the website suggests, there is no way they are keeping track or limiting the amount of people entering the gardens. It was VERY CROWDED, as in during the orchid display enclosed building, some sections were nearly shoulder to shoulder. Even as we left, piles of people were coming in, so I truly don't see the point of pre-purchasing, if you can walk up and buy a ticket on the spot. Did I mention there were buses of children there also, as in apparent school field trips? So that part was disappointing. (not the children! the lack of proper scheduling) Lastly, 2 adult admission tickets plus parking = $75.

Even nice in winter

By Radio_Caroline_NL |

Visited the botanical gardens during a work trip in Atlanta. Even in winter, it was worth a visit. The greenhouses were very nice and vibrant. The variety of green houses was also very appealing, one of them was under construction, but there was plenty to see. Recommended to visit, especially in spring or summer, it will be even better then.

Get your 2 miles in while viewing the garden

By KnitsbyConnie |

Got my 2 miles of walking in. Went in from 10am to about 12 noon.
November is not probably the best time to see a lot of flowering and color, but it is a very nicely laid out garden and pleasant to walk around. As I was there before the holiday lighting event, the personnel were getting all set up for the night time show, I was able to get a peek view at what the light show would look like.
The volunteers at the garden were extremely helpful and informative.

Trip to Atlanta Botanical Garden

By John M |

We went here in the early spring. I look forward to seeing what the other three (3) season look like. Their orchard display was one of the largest I have seen outside of the Royal Botanical Garden (Que Garden) in Britain.

Mediocre for the price

By Ant Brown |

I gave two stars for location. Visiting ABG on
October 8 was a waste of time. There is nothing in bloom and the the exhibits/grounds could use some cleaning which is understandable because of fall but for 27.00 pp that is a rip off. Basically we paid to enter then I had to pay for drinks and snacks. I saw nothing appealing to the eye. There is an exhibit that is coming “fall 2021” and it needs work. It was filled with dirt and debris. I was very disappointed. I hope the holiday lights will be different and the gardens in the spring.

A walk in the trees

By Carol C |

We visit Atlanta often and had never visited the ABG. I'm sad we waited so long. It is beautiful. We went in the cool of the evening and loved the walk through the trees and the music in the background.

There are so many wonderful displays, it is easy to see why so many couples made it a date night. The evening we were there they had cocktails and live music.

The edible garden, children's area and the orchid conservatory were highlights of our visit. Our group from 1 to 75 had a great time.

Clean and accessible, a lovely evening in Atlanta.

Beautiful but pricey

By akitkat118 |

This place is really nice but... SO DANG EXPENSIVE. Adults during non peak days are $ 27 and kids $ 24 . It's a lot. And my kids don't look and absorb stuff and take their time. So paying over $ 100 for maybe an hour and a half here was a bitter pill to swallow especially when some main exhibits are out of commission and not installed yet. It's definitely beautiful and peaceful... we were there on a Tuesday and some of the food things weren't open. We did stop at a snack stand and get water and ice pops. That was expensive too. The glass was cool, was worth a visit, just be prepared to pay. Also - I know the job of the volunteers is to provide info but some were a little too aggressive in speaking to us. Sometimes we like a short quick answer and not for someone to come to us and just start talking about stuff. And the woman who gave us the map spoke for way too long. Then again, I am from NY so southern hospitality is foreign to us. But they need to read the room, haha.

NO Premium or P Plus. Buy regular. No parking 50 min to find out

By T B |

Do not buy Premium pass or plus. No such thing. No picture or glow necklace. When I asked why the short Breaded large guy Manager lied to my face and said, “Premium cost $109 each even with Membership. There is no time entry check or the fire Marshall needs to be called. So over crowded. Parking 50 min to get into ABG. When you got in garage an entire level blocked off. WHY! Hot coco good, but cold! Resturant needs reservations booked month in advance. Pay extra $$ to stand next to fire pit. Light show nice, but experience only worth $20.
They don't care Nickel and dime you!

TAKE YOUR MAMA

By Eco-Adventure-traveler |

Xmas light show was exceptional. Great place to take the elderly during this covid. Park was good about allowing space and reminding people to "Space Out." Really enjoyed the light show w music that is ever changing and constant. Great that no specific timed events so you can move about .... extras for $ smores, wine, beer and food of course light up things. Absolutely fantastic for 90 year old mom.

Great Botanical Garden

By Stephen M |

We were here with my friends during our visit. We are out of town, but this place worth a visit. It is big but not huge, so you can walk around easily and enjoy the beautifulness. Recommend for everybody!

Gorgeous Plants and Gardens

By DCL |

The garden provided an amazing diversity of plants and flowers, all exhibited in a beautiful manner. The Chihully glass sculptures were an additional attraction. It took several hours to tour the garden, but they were well worth spending.

What a suprise and enjoyable time

By Misssuzan |

This was an unexpected visit. We had no plans to go here but we were so glad we did. You will not be disappointed!! There is so much to do and see here. The flowers, trees, grounds, and orchid are just spectacular. There is so much to learn and see. The winding bridges and pathways are relaxing to stroll. We also had a suprising fabulous meal at the Longleaf restaurant the food is delicious. You can spend a day here if the weather is nice. There are many different buildings to wander in.

Gorgeous!

By takemetothebeach19 |

If you are in Atlanta, this needs to be on your list of activities. We debated not going, but are so glad we did. If it’s a hot day I’d recommend going later in the evening. We arrived at 6:45 PM and stayed until about 8:30 PM. The gardens close at 9 o’clock. I don’t know if I’ve ever been to a more beautiful garden!

Beautiful Botanical Garden

By Candeeluve |

This is a great experience. Went on a Tuesday evening a few hours before closing. There was still a nice crowd out but it wasn't packed and there was plenty of parking. Right before entering the garden there was a bartender station. The property is huge and there are tons of trails to take you to various exhibits. The main attraction was the Alice in Wonderland exhibit, ending September 2024. There were various restaurants, some with indoor and outdoor dining. This is a great experience for solo, couples and families.

Pretty place

By wanderlust543 |

If you enjoy the outdoors or plants, you'll definitely like this. I went in the summer during off hours (after 4PM) and it was not that crowded. The gardens itself are very large and there is a lot to explore, so you definitely get a lot of walking in. They have many flower exhibits as well as a vegetable garden. I personally liked the enclosed space in which there was a plethora of plants - it was quite aesthetic! Many people look forward to seeing the lady made of flowers and she was definitely beautiful. However, I will say that I'd love to see more exorbitant flower displays in the future!

Beautiful night light show

By dmayoral1 |

Beautiful light show. Settings are really impressive.
Second year that I have gone and every cent worthwhile
The gardens, music and lights are out of this world

Origami in the Garden

By Cathie B |

Origami in the Garden is a magnificent exhibit of larger than life sculptures based on the art of origami. Each piece starts as a single piece of folded paper and, through a 35 step process, transforms into these metal sculptures. Created by Santa Fe artists Kevin and Jennifer Box who work closely with several renowned Origami artists.

Don’t miss this, on exhibit until mid October 2022.

simply the best

the atlanta botanical gardens are a landmark of midtown atlanta. always a refuge in the heart of chaos

Festival of Lights is a must see !!

By Mrs. B |

I recently visited family in the area and we bought tickets for the Light Festival around Thanksgiving. You are on a self-guided tour after dusk on the Garden 's paved paths. As you wander the grounds, surround-sound holiday toons are played as you gaze at elaborate, lights exhibits. Gorgious and very uplifting ! Also, there are benches to rest on and beverages to purchase. The tour takes about one hour to walk and the indoor arboredum is also open to tour with gift shop. We really enjoyed it !!

Weekend in Atlanta.

By spraytanman |

The light here are wonderful. The area with the musical lights are even better. It was cold and misty which wasn’t fun but they can’t control weather. Only issue was that we Took Uber and arrived 30 minutes early and they wanted to change us $10 per ticket to do so. We have the upgraded package and no just the regular ticket. They said it was for crown control but if it wasn’t to crowded for us to pay to get in early then it shouldn’t have been without paying.

Really nice but a little pricey

By cwshats |

We spent a few hours here. Lots of flowers in early May. Maybe go in the morning since it can get hot. Find all 3 Chihuly sculptures.

Alice in Wonderland fantastic

By nattedogg |

Very good experience. They had plants cut to commemorate Alice in Wonderland. The staff were very friendly and the parking was easy.

Origami in the Garden Exhibit

By Greg M |

If you have never been to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, this would be a great time to visit while the Origami in the Garden exhibit is still there (through mid-October, 2022).

Origami in the Garden is an amazing exhibit of sculptures created by Kevin and Jennifer Box and inspired by origami designs created by world-renowned origami artists. All of the sculptures are made out of metal and most of them are either cast from the origami paper figure, or fabricated out of welded steel to represent an enlarged version of the original origami figure. If you visit the garden to see this show, make sure you don't miss the "Inside Out" exhibit in the Gardenhouse (next to the restaurant). In this exhibit are some mind boggling examples of origami designs made out of a single, square piece of paper.

Definitely recommended for the entire family!

Beautiful gardens!!

By Joe N |

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is one of the best Botanical Garden's I have ever visited. There is so much to see and the grounds are immaculate. This is a great way to spend an afternoon in Atlanta.

A great spot to relax on a hot day

By Jerry M |

My daughter is in grad school in Europe, so we met up in Atlanta for a few days of visiting. Really glad she picked the botanical garden -- relaxed, beautiful, a nice walk with lots of shade, live jazz, air conditioned bar and restaurant. Just a great place to get away for a relaxing afternoon.

Half the Park is not in bloom in the Spring

By 8TWs |

We went here the weekend before Easter expecting to be overwhelmed with amazing aromas and flowing water displays. We were very disappointed to find out that none of the water features were on, and that the Earth Goddess display was under construction. About 60% of the park was off or under construction when we went. We felt cheated.
The tulips were very nice and saved this from being a 1 star review. Definitely will not be back during the spring.

Beautiful Garden

By Bob C |

The Atlanta Botanical Garden, located right next to Piedmont Park, has many beautiful plants displayed both indoors and outdoors. We visited during the special Alice in Wonderland exhibit which had plant formations in its characters; nicely done. The path through the park is paved and well-graded, and takes you through woodlands and open spaces. There is one area in the garden where the tall buildings in midtown Atlanta are in view, which takes a little bit away from being in nature, but it is still very much worth visiting with much to see all around.

So much fun.

By Rob |

So much fun. We went with our kids and had such a good time. Seeing Christmas light is one of our favorite traditions. A few hours can be spent walking all of the trails. Overall a wonderful experience.

Great

By stephen b |

I love botanical gardens, so I’m easy to please but the light shows they put in here are to die for, particularly with children.

Good all year, but don’t miss Garden Nights, Holiday Lights in December.

By JohnKreviews |

The ABG’s Garden Nights, Holiday Lights is a great exhibition during the Christmas holidays. Get your timed tickets early & beware traffic to get in, which was very backed up well down Piedmont and a frustrating start to the visit. It gradually moves and the staff is friendly. Refreshment stands & bar lines were long so we didn’t try those, but the displays were fabulous, especially the mesmerizing tree-mounted light curtains set to music.

Beautiful place

By Jorge Deoclecia... P |

Very nice place, good for a walk and reflection. The Orchidarium is a separate spectacle, very well cared for and diverse.

Children's Garden was a hit.

By Rickjax |

We took our 6-year-old granddaughter for a day outdoors. What a wonderful experience. She loved the "Children's Garden" experience. We loved the slide, "water wall painting" and the corn snake path. The Gardens are beautiful and so peaceful. Spring blooms abound. It's a memory that will last a lifetime.

Too many closed features

By Doll1978 |

We had a very lackluster visit at the garden. Admission was full price but the majority of the flowers we were able to see could easily be found at Home Depot or Lowe's. The Impressive Woman exhibit and cascading ponds were under construction and the majority of the buildings were closed except for the orchid house. We also made a reservation for outdoor seating at the restaurant but we're told that they couldn't honor it and we would have to sit inside where there were plenty of screaming children. We elected to just leave and eat elsewhere.

Nice peaceful walk

By pieboyinspain |

The gardens were very quiet when we arrived.

They are beautifully well kept. Lots of natural indigenous plants and trees, which was great.

Nice, well laid out paths. Easy to follow.

I would suggest taking water in with you as there was one snack bar half way round and fountains were not working.

I would leave 1.5-2 hours to walk round a a slow pace

Overall a peaceful, enjoyable way to get over our jetlag!

Christmas lights without the Christmas

By Traveler40061175942 |

Very disappointed in the almost total exclusion of Christmas from the Atlanta Botanical Garden displays. No Santa Claus. No traditional Christmas decorations. Of course there is no religious theme anywhere. The primary light show has lots of symphonic rock and other genres where they finally find a few seconds to include a condensed version of White Christmas. It happens to be the biggest selling single of all time. They have a DJ blasting non-Christmas music in another section of the garden. I finally spotted one area where they thankfully played a few non-religious holiday songs. No Silent Night to offend anyone. Without Christmas there would be no Botanical Garden lights.

Put some Christmas in this holiday light show. If you don't want to offend non-Christians, why don't you designate some nights for Christmas music and other nights to Star Wars, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Beatles/Rolling Stones or some other non holiday theme music? Then see which nights have greater attendance and patron appreciation.

Magical Experience

By Stephanie L |

My expectations were exceeded by the botanical gardens and I am so glad we decided to go! Spring is a fantastic time to go and the weather was perfect. There was so much to see from the stunning orchid house to the Earth Goddess to the Trolls to the canopy walk it is incredible how much there is to take in. From a practical perspective, I am glad we went on the early side when the garden was less busy. The restaurant was booked solid online, but we walked in around 10:15 AM and talked to a hostess and they said they could fit us in for 11:30 for lunch, which was perfect. We started from the back left of the garden instead of the front right, which seemed wise. When we left the parking deck was full, this was around 1:30/2 but that could have been because an event was happening in the park too? This is a can't miss place to visit in Atlanta in my opinion and I look forward to coming back.

Very nice but the price is too high in my opinion.

By Marc F |

We visited the botanical garden just the other day. It definately is a nice place to be and well spent time. What bothers me is that compared to the Aquarium the price seems to be quite high. If you happen to live in Atlanta of course the whole year family pass is a great option.

A beautiful place to rejuvenate

By CAC1002013 |

The Botanical Garden is fantastic. I spent a couple of hours walking through the many gardens. The grounds are well-kept. The exhibits are amazing with the different colors and multitudes of flowers. Benches everywhere to sit and take in the view. The gardens are a great place for solitude and peaceful reflection. A beautiful place to spend a few hours.
