Dora replaced the first metal photo that we received with a slightly bent corner. She was wonderful to work with. It’s not often you find companies who stand behind their product like this.

We were so excited when we found this little gem of a shop! The pictures are absolutely beautiful! I received nine today and wish now I had gotten a larger one. I got a small one so if you are hesitant about size go larger! Talkeetna was a great town to explore! Aurora Dora is a must stop, see and purchase!!!!

I was in Talkeetna on 9/18/22 and stopped by Aurora Dora's cute-as-a-button cabin. She's warm and welcoming and answers any questions you may have about her work and the lights. I love the aurora, so I really enjoyed chatting with her and comparing experiences. I would definitely stop in again. I ordered a metal print, cannot wait to get it!

Dora is a great photographer. Her studio of the Northern Lights is amazing. She had a name for each photo, knew the date of each photo and had a story for them. Dora took all her photos in the Talkeetna area. I bought the "Aurora Eating The Moon" on metal. It looks beautiful hanging in my living room.

First trip to Alaska in August, so would not be seeing the northern lights from Talkeetna (farthest north on trip for us). However Dora's shop and gallery gave us a great feel for the spectacular beauty of the lights. We bought two of her shots that will forever remind us of this trip and the vastness and wonders of Alaska. Congratulations Dora for your splendid work.

We met Aurora Dora in her store in Talkeetna, Alaska. Aurora was very personable and helpful. She is truly a talented photographer with an exceptional gift to catch those kodak moments in the sky. Her photos have been published by NASA and many other magazines and can be found all over Alaska. I highly recommend a visit to her shop in Talkeetna.
The first time I purchased her 2018 Christmas ornament and her children's book Aurora Dora. We were staying at the Talkeetna Alaska lodge where she has the most beautiful photo shot taken in March of the Northern lights above the lodge.
I went back the next day and purchased a print of it as a memory of meeting her and of
our fantastic trip in Alaska.

This store was the highlight of my visit to Talkeetna! We were blown away by her photography and I knew I had to have some of that on my wall at home.

This shop is full of gorgeous photos of the northern lights. The prints are spectacular, especially the versions that are printed directly onto metal. There were so many beautiful images, it was hard to choose. We had our prints shipped to our home out of state, and it was easy and quick. If you're passing through Talkeetna, definitely check out Aurora Dora!

I couldn't stop looking at and exclaiming about the wonderful photographs. The prints on metal were fantastic. Dora spoke with me for a good hour and explained about her pictures and what was in them. She shipped "Talkeetna Aurora & Milky Way" so it would arrive at my home in Michigan after I got home from Alaska. Wonderful photography, wonderful photographer.

The owner is very sweet. Great little spot to check out. Her pictures are amazing. It is incredible how the photographer remembers exactly when the photos were taken and under which conditions.

We stopped into this art gallery by chance during a free afternoon in Talkeetna and we are so glad we did. All of us (myself, my husband and my 2 boys ages 9 and 12) were amazed by Dora's beautiful work. Despite the gallery being relatively small, we spent quite some time browsing all the individual pieces. Dora was absolutely lovely explaining the story behind each shot, and answering all my sons' questions. We each picked out a souvenir and can't wait for them to arrive.

Our nephew kept raving about how AWESOME this art was so we convinced him to take us there from Washington. The artwork was truly amazing! Having Dora on site telling us about each piece just made it so much more enjoyable!! It was well worth the trip!!

Dora was a pleasure to deal with and talk to about her photographs. We bought a few pieces and they all arrived in perfect condition after we returned from vacation. Highly recommend visiting Aurora Dora when you are in Talkeetna.

I am an amateur semi - pro photographer, I have worked for others for pay, "placed" in a couple of contests, and sold a few pieces. In other words I know what I am doing. I definitely know what I like, and I like her work. I mean art. So much so that I bought one of her fantastic prints. I appreciate the many nights and hours it took for her to create her galley of truly amazing photos and even more hours to process and print and present them. Fantastic. Just fantastic. All located in a historic old log cabin. Love this place.

Located near the entrance to town, this store is the perfect place to go for excellent photos of the Aurora Borealis. We could not afford some of the large and spectular worjs she had a display, but there are a number of more affordable pieces we were interested in. We had a lot of fun there. The owner is very friendly.

I can’t say enough about Dora! An intimate setting where you can feel her enthusiasm and passion for what she does. I could almost see myself there as she described each photo - where it was taken, the conditions; it was like I was standing next to her.

There was no pressure to buy, but she made me want to buy everything because of her passion and sheer joy of doing her work!

My only issue was showing personal restraint because I wanted to buy all of them!

I have no idea how one person could rate this establishment at anything less than a 5. Even though I have yet to see the Northern lights, Dora captures the images in a way anyone would fall in love with. It is very apparent that she crept out into the fields, braved the cold elements, and sought the perfect time to open, and close, her aperture. These pictures captured are more than art; they show the still silence of a dancing sky.

The little cabin within the city looks warm and cozy. However, once inside, the pure awe of the pictures can transport anyone to a time before human interference. Even with snow on the ground... the art was warm.

So glad that I stopped by the Aurora Dora boutique while in Talkeetna. I discovered a passionate professional photograph of the aurora Borealis in Alaska. Her story is as unique as her photos. She moved from hot Brazilian weather to Alaska to capture and share with the world beautiful original pics of the aurora. Truly extraordinary.

We visited Aurora Dora's in Talkeetna in early June. Purchased a metal print "Eating the Moon Aurora". We love it! It was hard to pick cause all her work is spectacular! Dora was so gracious and it was great being able to visit with her.

We spent about a half an hour in the store. Dorow was not there at the time burn her store clerk was excellent.
her photographs are astounding and her presentation on metal backing is very unique. This is well worth the stop.

My husband and I were on a trip to Alaska and stopped in Talkeetna, where we came across Dora’s quaint little cabin. We were blown away at her beautiful photography of the aurora borealis! After chatting with her (she’s delightful and very passionate about her work), we decided we wanted to purchase something for our home. We couldn’t decide what we wanted, because they were all great and had these incredible stories! We finally settled on two that we thought would look great in our home. We received them yesterday and they are just as beautiful as we remembered. They were also very carefully packaged and came in pristine condition. Definitely make a stop by!

Dora has a nice cabin in Talkeetna where she displays her work. She is a very talented and experienced photographer who spent years mastering photos of the Aurora. She has many metal works on display. If you happen to be in Talkeetna, visit Dora to see her amazing work.
I also recommend Dora’s time lapse video of the Aurora. She added music and it’s a great display of her work and the Aurora.
Visit her and you won’t be disappointed.

We visited Aurora Dora's shop in Talkeetna last week, July 12,2022. We had seen a clip about Dora's work on a coach on our Princess land excursion. We found the shop easily in Talkeetna. The town is very walkable and not too big. We enjoyed the town stopping for breakfast, walking the town and shopping. We bought a beautiful metal print from Dora. She was in her shop. We got to meet her and talk to her about her photography. It was the highlight of our visit to Talkeetna!

Aurora Dora is an amazing artist who has taken breathtaking pictures of the Northern Lights with the accompanying Alaskan Mountains as backdrop. This is our second purchase from her collection that decorates our home.

Did not get to see the Aurora Borealis ourselves but this gallery made us feel as we had. We believe the prices were much more affordable than similar artwork in Anchorage. The quality of the photos were excellent.

My husband and I were recently in Talneetna during rainy season, Alaskan season. It had been our deepest desire to see the Northern Lights. We noticed a small shop named Aurora Dora and decided to go in. I was immediately taken with Dora's work. Her work is that of a true artist...My husband and I went back twice to this shop...it is truly an experience you don't want to miss. I had seen other photography of the Northern Lights along the way and none could even compare with Aurora Dora's. She is not only a gifted Artist, she is delightful to spend time with. Do not miss out on this.

received our beautiful print this morning. arrived in perfect shape. this is the best possible way to remember a beautiful trip.

I bought a private workshop for my daughter, Danielle, and I. Although I ended up not going out with them as I wasn't feeling well, I did sit in on the first part where Dora explains a lot about auras and camera features. Then she and Danielle were out for several hours, waiting for the lights to put in an appearance. They weren't out very much, but Danielle got some nice images and, more importantly, learned a lot about her camera and lens and shooting the aurora. If you want to learn how to shoot great images of the aurora, I highly recommend a workshop with Dora. And check out her store too; she's got an amazing selection of images for purchase!

The owner specializes in pictures of the Aurora Borealis. During the summer, it is hard to see so this store is the next best thing. Dora herself showed us her photos, spoke about her techniques, and was gracious enough to stay open slightly past her closing time for us.

Been to Alaska a few times but unfortunately never when the Auroras are visible. Going to her shop, meeting Dora, gave us the opportunity to see the beauty and magnificence of them through her work. She is always welcoming and friendly. Her passion and talent certainly represents the beauty of Alaska. Hopefully soon we will get to experience the beauty of the 'Lights' for ourselves!

My boyfriend took me to Aurora Dora as a surprise since I love to get a unique piece of art on all of my trips. We met Dora and got to peruse all of her beautiful photography in her gallery and got to learn about the background of each of her photos. It was great to go into this gallery to see some of the auroras as we were in Alaska in May and wouldn't get to see them in person.

We ended up walking away with a few pieces of art that we really loved while getting to learn more about Dora, the photographer and her unique story!

Absolutely gorgeous Northern Lights photography! We had a fun time in the gallery choosing a photo, size, and print method. We chose a LED option and it is beautiful! Everyone who sees it is amazed! Definitely recommend stopping here while in Talkeetna.

We first saw Dora's beautiful work while staying at the Talkeetna Lodge and the gift shop girl told us where Dora's shop was as we wanted to meet her in person. We were sold the minute we walked in and Dora filled us with stories about each piece. They were all so fantastic, picked one out and was shipped to our Florida home.

We loved hearing Dora's story and seeing her fabulous photography. She is a courageous photographer who will go to all lengths in search of the perfect aurora!! She will tell you many accounts of brushes with danger, lol and it didn't phase her one bit! She LOVES the lights and wants everyone to know what they are and get a chance to see them.
We were in a group of 20 people and she spent the time to help everyone adjust their camera settings to enable the best opportunity to see all the colors of the aurora!!! She also explained the science behind it to better appreciate the splendor that our eyes would behold.

The owner is a gifted photographer with some beautiful pictures. While many of the shops in Talkeetna offered discounts, she still wanted full price.

Shipping was as promised and arrived shortly after I got home from my trip. I was fortunate enough to see the aurora myself but the colors didn’t compare with Dora’s work.

It was our 40th wedding anniversary. We wanted something special to remember and honor this celebration. So we purchased “Old Jeep Aurora”.

We visited the gallery on a weekday and it was amazing. Her photography is fantastic to begin with (and local), but mounted around the space on metal and acrylic made the images really stand out!

Dora was wonderful to talk to, explaining techniques and the stories behind many of the images. She also told us a bit about the background of the historic cabin in which her studio is located. There is also more historic info on a placard outside the entrance.

I selected a metal print of a rare aurora event which she had mailed to my home. It arrived in perfect condition and is beautiful.

I have been a big fan of her art for some time and I am hoping to visit again when she is putting on a workshop; we missed the latest by a couple of weeks unfortunately. If not, I will invest in a personal workshop which she also offers.

Aurora Dora has an amazing variety of magnificent photos of the Aurora. She took the time to tell me where and at what time she took the amazing photos. She really loves her work, and it shows in her beautiful photos.

On a recent tour to Alaska, our group had a talk given by Aurora Dora at our hotel with a wonderful slide show of her exquisite photos of the Aurora Borealis. I was so taken by the beauty she captured, of course, I visited her cute studio in Talkeetna and purchased a lovely photo to remember the lights by. She is lovely and so exuberant about her work, it's infectious. Seeing the Northern Lights has been on my bucket list and hearing Dora speak it makes you "almost" want to come in the dead of winter to experience even greater lights but I'll have her beautiful picture to remember it by.

My wife and I attended a presentation by Aurora Dora to our Grand Circle Tour group led by Scott Terry. When we had free time in Talkeetna, we went to her studio to pick up one of her prints. The only problem we had was selecting just one of her marvelous pieces of art. We settled on "Talkeetna Aurora & Milky Way". It gave us everything we wanted. We recommend her work to anyone who wants to see the real Alaska.

Dora is a fabulous photographer who has a superb eye for the Aurora Borealis. She has a fascinating story to go with each and every one of her photos and it is a very difficult decision when it comes time to make a purchase. All her photos are unique and captivating. She has an uncanny ability to capture on film what she imagines in her mind's eye.

We had a awesome trip to Alaska. There was 3 couples and we all purchased 3 pictures from Dora. Her work speaks for it self. We enjoyed talking with Dora and loved especially how much pride and dedication she puts into taking pictures of the northern lights. Loved how she told you where all the pictures were taken and the time of the year. If you are there in Talkeetna you must stop into see her place. Plus all the other neat shops. This place is awesome. I visited it on the last day of my vacation in Alaska. I love how it is situated in a rustic and old cabin giving it a tremendous feel of how it belongs to the town of Talkeenta. Inside the gallery and shop is very clean and filled with amazing photographs of Northern Lights. I decided right there that I was going to purchase one of the metal printed photographs, but it was hard deciding which one. My partner helped me out and picked Amazing April Aurora because of the way the Northern Light swirled with silhouette of trees and the Big Dipper all in one print. It’s amazing. I got the chance to meet the owner and photographer there. She was wonderful and explained to me more information about the photograph I purchased.

Dora’s photography is simply incredible. She knows the history of each photograph. The amount of time she spends outside in Alaska in the Summer researching her photo shoots and in the winter patiently waiting for the perfect blend of Aurora and surrounding scenery is incredible. Her photographs are magical.

This studio is a hidden gem in a small house in Talkeetna, Alaska, and was worth the drive to Talkeetna just to see—and buy—the pictures. The photographs “Aurora Dora” takes are amazing. The aurora is not always colorful as the colors are dependent on strong sun flares on the sun two days before you are looking at the Northern skies. Timing a trip for a regular tourist made months in advance make it very difficult for the normal tourist to see the vivid colors. Since Dora is able to go out at optimal viewing time, and has amazing photographic skill, her pictures are awesome. The pictures I purchased were shipped as promised and arrived in great shape.

Dora has an amazing eye for capturing the beauty of the Northern Lights. She knew the dates she shot each one of her pictures. An why she picked the area or subject. She is very informative and passionate about her work.

We enjoyed meeting Dora on our recent visit to Talkeetna (03/27/2025). Our son told us that we had to check out her shop, and we were not disappointed. Talking with Dora was an absolute joy. She is passionate about photographing the night sky and is quick to give you details about her photographs. We spent nearly 45 minutes in her shop, in complete awe of the photos and the metal prints.

While she specializes in photographing the Northern Lights, she visited the Outer Banks in North Carolina (our home state) last summer and had an incredible photo of the Bodie Lighthouse.

While we were there, we ordered two metal prints and look forward to their arrival next week so we can display them and share them with family and friends.

Aurora Dora is an amazing artist and person! I first met Dora at a presentation she gave to my tour group about the Aurora Borealis and her journey to capture its beauty for others to share. She has completely focused her artistic talents to create the most beautiful and unique photo art! More astounding was my visit to her gallery in Talkeetna, AK. It was there that I was able to truly appreciate the intricacies and details of her works. Dora uses a photographic metallic medium that makes the colors pop, just as if you were there experiencing the aurora’s majesty! (without the -40 degree weather).
Dora is a consummate businesswoman as well. When my print arrived, I discovered a very small imperfection on the edge of the frame. Without hesitation, Dora reordered another print from the photo lab to make sure that I received a perfect copy. I received the new print quickly and it is hanging in a place of honor in my home. Thank you, Dora, for sharing your passion and photographic abilities with the rest of us!

We saw some of Dora's work displayed at the lodge where we were staying and decided to check out her studio. Are we ever glad that we did! We were not expecting to meet Dora herself but she was there the day that we visited. She was one of the most charming artists that we have ever visited with. She spent a lot of time with us as we debated what we wanted to buy. She explained when and where the photos were taken and under what conditions. We were torn between a couple of different scenes so we both both. One is a framed and backlit photo of "Colorful Winter Night". It hangs on a wall in our living room and all our friend rave about it! Can't wait to visit again.

We had the pleasure of meeting Dora in her store in Talkeetna and were awed by her photographs. Each one has a story and several of her images instantly grabbed us. Her photos capture it all and to see the stars like we never see them at home was incredible. Her store is a must see stop in this small town.

This was “the highlight” of our trip to Talkeetna! We loved Miss Dora and her shop! Her photography is absolutely stunning! I love that she has a story to tell for every photo she took - location, the date/ time, the temperature and every possible detail! Aurora Dora is an awesome photographer and has marvelous work. She is very sweet and is very willing to discuss her work with you. She waited to mail our purchase until we returned home. The package came quickly from the time she had it sent. We would buy more of her work as she has numerous pieces that are absolutely beautiful.

Dora is passionate and sincere. The doll on the counter that someone made of her cracked me up because it DOES resemble her. She is personable and a great photographer. We never miss a chance to stop in at Aurora Dora when in Talkeetna. Dora herself is a big part of the magic of the studio. Not only are the photographs breathtakingly beautiful, she makes them come alive with entertaining background stories which makes each photo even more memorable. After purchasing a small print a few years ago I promised myself a larger one on this trip and we found a metal print that was quite special. I will find a prominent place for it in our home. I live in Texas and don't get to see the real thing here, but her photos bring me joy each and every day and help me remember the beauty of the night sky in the North!

Aurora Dora has a special talent for capturing the Alaskan aurora through photography. Her store is in the center of Talkeetna, Alaska. When you walk into this log cabin you are transported to a world of beauty and images of the aurora that you would never expect. She will share with you all the places the photo images of the aurora were taken and the dates. She is an expert in knowing where to go and when to hunt for the elusive northern lights.
I bought two prints and a special aurora necklace with one of her northern light images. I had to special order the necklace as she doesn't have them in her store. I received the necklace very quickly. How exciting to wear this piece of art and then explain to the admirers that I met the person who took the photo and where it was taken. Now that I'm home i'm glad I did. It reminds me of my special time traveling in Alaska.

Dora was working in the shop when we visited. She is very kind and informative. She would tell you about each photo, how long it took to capture the image and what temperature it was outside as well as why using a metal canvas was much better than regular to truly capture the image. She is a lovely lady that has a great talent.

The workshop was perfect for me! I've been a photographer, but never shot at night or a night sky. I'd been trying to learn, but just wasn't getting it! Dora made it so easy. Alaska in February was just amazing! The Aurora was just so-so, but we cannot control that other than selecting the proper time, location and being ready when the Aurora is out.(Dora taught me all of that) I came from Ohio, so it was a long trip but one I hope to make again soon! As plus, Dora knows virtually everyone in Talkeetna, where to go to eat, where to get good photo ops, where to get a new cord for my Mac Powerbook!

We found Dora Shop while visiting Alaska, we actually arrived close to 5pm closing time, she went the extra mile answering questions with no pressure to be quick or push a sale. One of my goals during a recent cruise to Alaska was to experience the Aurora. Unfortunately for me the skies were overcast. On a tour bus stop, I discovered the Aurora Dora store. Didn't expect much from Aurora Dora's little log house and cute name. Boy was I wrong! Her photo's are amazing! Even better, she runs her own shop (this woman must never sleep!!)and was more than happy to explain when/where she took the photos and any background information. The on-metal prints are simply stunning. She has them printed in the lower 48, where they ship direct to you, so not so many worries about damages. And, Dora managed the shipping process so our picture wasn't printed/shipped until we were back in North Carolina. If you're around Talkeetna, definitely stop in...and give my best to Dora!

In addition, she passionately will explain the "when" and "where" associated with each photograph. It is a pleasurable experience just listening to her talk about her photos.

My wife is a very good photographer and the walls of our home are decorated with photos that she has taken from our various trips. When we return home from our Alaskan trip, I am sure that old photos will be replaced with four or five new ones from this latest adventure. For the first time ever they will be joined by a photo taken by different photographer, in this case Aurora Dora. The toughest decision we faced was not whether we were going to buy a piece but which one to purchase.

We were given information by our bus driver that we had to check this place out. I am not normally a person to purchase pictures since I take my own and that is "usually" good enough for me BUT when in Alaska in June you don't have the opportunity to see the Northern lights since it's always daylight in the summer. So....my husband and I went into the gallery of Aurora Dora and were just astonished at all the most beautiful photography I have ever seen. Not only the pictures that were in "normal" frames but she also had some of her photographs on metal. Let me tell you, metal is the way to go! I was so impressed that I actually purchased one! She is kind enough to ship it to your home for no extra cost and you don't have to worry about it getting destroyed by the airline on your flight home. She is the most pleasant person and her memory of the dates of each of her pictures is just mind boggling since there are so many. I highly recommend checking her place out!

Aurora Dora herself is charming and a delight to talk to. Her photography of the Northern Lights is stunning. My daughter and I had a difficult time deciding which one to get for our home! Being from Pennsylvania, what sealed the deal for us was her offer to ship free domestically. It arrived in perfect condition, adequately packaged, and she even had a new metal print made for us so that ours would not have fingerprints on it (I had assumed I was purchasing the print on display in her shop). You must go to Aurora Dora if you are in Talkeetna. She's a gem and very talented!

Just received our metal print of northern lights over Denali and we just love it. It is the most beautiful print we own and we have many sunsets, nature and wildlife. The service was excellent, shipping as promised and the picture is stunning. We have several beautiful photos of Denali and will make a collage with this picture. I recommend Aurora Dora as a wonderful stop when visiting this village. Dora told us in detail about the lighting, time of day when she photographed the picture, type of lens used and answered questions about astronomy; my husband was impressed; so was I, but he looks beyond the surface and is more analytical than I. We stopped in this store while visiting Talkeetna and were blown away by Dora’s photography. She is so passionate about her work and can tell you the exact date, time, and location of every photo—her stories bring each image to life. We chose a print on metal, and it shipped to Florida quickly and arrived in perfect condition. The photo is now the centerpiece of our “Alaska vacation” wall. The hardest part about visiting this shop is having to choose from so many stunning pictures!

Stunning Photos of Alaska's Wonderment and Beauty. Magical and a MUST visit studio. All photos are Museum quality without the Museum price. A colorful story for each photo is an added bonus. The shop shipped our purchased photo of the Aurora Borealis directly to our home on Florida. As such we were able to purchase a larger size, It arrived quickly and without damage as it was wrapped in a bullet proof box. One of the many highlights of our Alaska adventure.

Neat little place. The owner is an outstanding photographer and has a very nice assortment of pics that can be shipped if you need them to. The pictures are mainly of the northern lights, but quite a few other scenes as well. Worth a stop to look at.

Dora was very friendly and accommodating. She saw I was interested in several pictures and let me browse around until I approached her with my questions about the specifics of each shot. She in turn explained the history of how each shot was taken. I had just turned 65 and wanted a special memory of our trip to Alaska. I originally was only going to purchase one picture, but had difficulty choosing between two of them. Dora showed me the various sizes the prints could come in so I decided to purchase both of them, just two different sizes. It helps the shipping is free back to the lower 48! I was so excited about my purchase, when I returned to the lodge, I reached out to Dora and ordered an additional print for my brother who was about to turn 60. This was my highlight of all the shops we visited in Talkeetna!

This woman has the most amazing art of auroras, but the shop is disappointing. Please put your art in books!

I have followed Aurora Dora for a while as I have lover her photography and was looking forward to visiting her shop in Talkeetna while we were there.
She has a little shop at the meeting points of Talkeetna spur road and E Main street, near the welcome to Talkeetna sign.
The shop is only small but has a lot of amazing art / photography on the walls.
As we walked in, we were greeted by Aurora Dora herself and she helped up with some stories of how and were she gets here pictures. It was lovely to talk with her.
I found an amazing and what I thought was an iconic image of the aurora over engines from the Alaskan railroad that were stopped for a night in Talkeetna. Dora, explained how she got the shot. It was excellent listening to the artist tell us about it and her process. You could tell how truly passionate she was about her work.
Even though it was a little expensive, we bought a copy of one of this as its was a once in a lifetime visit. She even signed a business card as well with the details of it.
Both of these now grace my walls at home and I see it everyday when I leave and get home and love it.
Definitely worth a visit when you are in Talkeetna.

I am an amateur astronomer, so when I was in Talkeetna and saw the sign "Aurora Dora", I just had to go inside and investigate. Immediately I was greeted by Dora but my eye was drawn to her beautiful aurora pictures. I quickly zeroed in on a picture that I eventually bought. Dora was nearby when I pointed out the name of a galaxy in the picture to my wife. Once she heard me identify that galaxy, we had a wonderful discussion of the night sky and her aurora images. She even uses the same astronomical websites I use to predict darkness on a given date. I had a wonderful time talking to her about astronomy, which made my trip to Talkeetna extra special. I did not expect to meet someone like Dora there who knows the night sky as well as I do.

I walked into Aurora Dora and couldn't believe the photographs were not paintings! What an amazing photographer Dora is. I wanted to buy the entire display. You have to see for yourself, so anyone traveling to Anchorage and surrounding areas, Talkeetna should be on your list of stops. I bought one metal art photo and she shipped it for free to my home in Albuquerque. There is more to do while in Talkeetna so if you think it wouldn't be worth the stop just to see pictures, you won't regret it.

Since I didn't have any luck getting the aurora pictures myself, I went to this shop and found many beautiful pictures of the aurora that she had taken. I picked out two of them to have at my house in Georgia.

We had seen Dora's beautiful photos in our hotel and we came across her store in town (Talkeetna). It was great to be able to speak directly with Dora about her photography and she was very helpful in helping us figure out what size and which photo we wanted. She was thoughtful to ask when we would be home from our trip so that our purchase would not arrive before we were home. We stopped into Aurora Dora to look at the gorgeous photos of the auroras. The beautiful photographs on metal are stunning and captured my eyes as I walked into the door. Dora was there that day and told us background stories on when and where she was when she took the pictures. She even told us about how to dress when it is so cold on these nights. After much debate purchased one photo on aluminum. It just arrived in perfect condition and is just as stunning as in the shop. Don't miss her store if you are in Talkeetna!

This gallery was recommended to us by the owner of Denali Overlook Inn. I am glad that we decided to take up his suggestion and visited the gallery. What an amazing collection of photographs of the Aurora lights (taken from Talkeetna)!!! Even though, we did not buy anything, the studio owner/photographer was so warm and informative and shared lots of great details about many of the photographs in her studio.

After seeing similar photographs in Anchorage, we had a wonderful time talking with Dora about her work at her gallery in Talkeetna. We were amazed at the details she remembered about each photograph (date the photo was taken, where she was, how long she was out there before getting this shot, when she moved to capture a different angle, etc.)! She is clearly very passionate about her work and sharing the stunning landscape that surrounds her in that area of the world.

Meeting Aurora and experiencing the spectacular Northern Lights photographs she so passionately explained to us, both my boyfriend and I were drawn to the same one without saying a word to one another. It touched our souls. We purchased 'Chasing Lights' and have it displayed in our Arizona home as a perfect memory of our first trip to Alaska, and not our last. We plan to spend more time in Talkeetna and stop in to see Aurora again in the future!

We had stopped in this nice little shop on our trip and Alaska and was so surprised to see the beautiful pictures. She captures the northern lights just beautifully. Since we won't see them in person this is the next best thing. The artist also can tell you about each picture she did. We ended up buying one of her pictures that she puts on metal and we just love it.

While visiting Talkeetna two weeks ago, I stayed at the Talkeetna Denali View Lodge and met up with Dora. The aurora escaped my visit, but I enjoyed all of Dora's beautiful photographs at her Aurora Dora Gallery. She can tell you where and when all of her amazing photos were taken. I could not leave without purchasing the Aurora over the Alaska Range. The print was safely shipped and hangs beautifully in my Colorado home. Dora is truly an exquisite photographer.

I visited Talkeetna and based on a recommendation by a friend who lives near Wasilla, visited Dora’s shop. As a photographer myself, it was easy to appreciate Dora’s excellent work, and her commitment to excellence. That may sound repetitive, but they are two different things.

She offers paper prints, post cards, and most remarkably, and attractive, metalized prints. The colors and finish are brilliant! As is their durability.

Unfortunately, UPS was not sufficiently careful in handling a metalized print I purchased from Dora. I sent her an email describing the problem and she immediately filed an insurance claim. The replacement was received a few days later and now occupies a favored space in my living room.

I think it would be difficult to find a more gracious, interesting, entertaining, personable, and professional photographer, gallery owner, and host than Dora. If you go to Talkeetna, DO NOT FAIL TO VISIT HER GALLERY! If you do not want to go all the way to Alaska, just visit her website. Whichever way you go, it will well worth the time and effort.

We were lucky to spend time with Dora in her beautiful shop in Talkeetna . We admired her work and she was able to give us a first hand description of where the picture was take , when it was taken and even the temperature at the time. You can tell she has a passion for her work. It is exceptional. We will have her work of the aurora hanging in our home forever. And I know I’ll smile every time I look at it.

We went to Alaska in June 2019 and wanted something memorable from our visit of this wonderful place. We fell in love with Doras photos of the auroaboriellis and ordered one. Dora is so amazing! She is kind, friendly, and is such a gifted photographer. She gave a presentation to my tour group and taught us so much about auroras and how to best take pictures (as an amateur - that’s me). Her store in Talkeetna is small but has some really nice pieces. I would highly recommend meeting her and visiting her shop in person if you can, but she does also have a website if you can’t.

If you would like some awesome photos of the Aurora this is the place to go. Dora really loves her job and you can tell by the photos she takes. She can tell you every place she took the photo from which is unreal.

Dora explained lots of information about the Northern Lights: more detailed than what I learn at the Museum of the North in Fairbanks. Her photos are amazing and loved the prints on metal; really brings out the color. A great substitute for not being at right time of the year to see the Northern Lights.

It was a cool, brisk morning in Talkeetna, Alaska, and snow was lightly falling. My dad and I were wandering around town, taking in the scenery and exploring the gift shops, when we stumbled upon a cute little one-room cabin with a colorful photograph of the aurora outside and a sign that read "Aurora Dora Photography". Intrigued, we decided to take a closer look.

Inside, we were greeted by Aurora Dora herself, an incredibly talented photographer who specializes in capturing the Northern Lights. Her studio was filled with stunning photographs of the Aurora Borealis, and my dad and I were both in awe of her work.

But Aurora Dora wasn't content to just let us admire her photos. She wanted to share her expertise with us, and before we knew it, we were deep in conversation about the best techniques for capturing the Northern Lights through photography. She was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to explain everything from solar cycles to the best mobile apps for forecasting aurora activity.

Before we left, we couldn't resist purchasing a few of Aurora Dora's beautiful photographs, printed on metal sheets that really brought out the colors of the Aurora. We left her studio feeling inspired and grateful for the experience, and with a newfound appreciation for the art of aurora photography. If you're ever in Talkeetna and are interested in capturing the beauty of the Northern Lights through photography, we highly recommend paying a visit to Aurora Dora's studio.

Aurora Dora gave our group an amazing and enjoyable presentation of her adventures of photographing the auroras. Her video was so amazing and I knew no matter what I would never be able to see what she saw. We got the video and a wall photo. It's now hanging in our living room where I see and enjoy it everyday. The aurora is so colorful. The video makes a great screen saver for our TV. The photo of our wall print has a glitch because of reflection from our window but it is really inspiring. I am not a good photo editor.

Dora and her art are a simple delight. What a pleasure to speak with the artist and peruse her craft. My purchase arrived in California five days after my visit and now adorns my entryway. A must visit when in Talkeetna.

What a nice little store right downtown Talkeetna. We were only going to stop for a minute but the manager of the store was so delightful and shared some interesting stories about the real Dora taking all these amazing pictures that we stayed a lot longer. Dora has a wide selection of great Aurora pictures. The artwork in the Gallery is fabulous. She has a story with every picture and it is amazing how much that adds to the pics.
We highly recommend visiting her store or looking online at her pictures. Her prices are reasonable.

GO AGAIN: Yes! Aurora Dora has simply beautiful photos as well as great advice on where to go to see the northern lights. I definitely would have purchase some of her photo/artwork but I just no longer have any places in my home to hang her work.

We visited Dora's shop while on vacation and were excited to have an opportunity to visit her shop. She was so friendly and was happy to tell us about her photography of the Northern Lights from Talkeetna. She clearly loves her work.

Her work is absolutely beautiful and I'm a little jealous she gets to see the auroras every year but not about the being outside in the cold to get those images. So glad Dora is there to capture these amazing images. We purchased 2 metal prints with one being a gift - can't wait to see the recipient's reaction!

Aurora does stunning work and is very pleasant in interactions. No shortage of great photos to choose from. and we bought a great piece on metal now on our living room wal.

We saw many examples of Aurora Dora's talent on our trip and were so very pleased to visit her display shop in Talkeetna! The prints on display defy description - what clarity, what depth, what color, what inspiration! I cannot imagine the amount of time and dedication went into creating these masterpieces. There were so many outstanding results of Dora's vision that it was difficult to select one - but the one that struck us most was "Talkeetna and the Milky Way", a photograph that is indescribably beautiful in its depth and breadth. If you travel to Talkeetna, you have to stop at this shop - you will certainly find something to love and own! Having it printed on the metal format is the way to go, and the mounting is thoughtful and so easy to display!

I’m not one to stop in a gallery. I’m so glad that we did. All of her photos were beautiful and unique (night photography only). She is very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. A must see for sure.

Stopped in to see Dora's work in a very short visit to Talkeetna before catching a train. Each photo is prettier than the next, but I chose one that had a special meaning for me. The artist was on site and passionate about sharing her art and local information connected to her photographs. Stop in and say hi before leaving Talkeetna. Be sure and pick up one of her photographs in case yours don't turn out.

What a interesting photographer! Her little shop was full of beautiful photographs of the northern lights and stars as well as the great Alaskan landscape. We purchased two art pieces which she cheerfully said she would ship to our home. (Thank goodness). One of our more interesting stops and not to be missed!

We visited Talkeetna Alaska in summer so can't get a glimpse of aurora, but you can experience it in Aurora Dora's small photo studio here. Loved her photography, no editing, straight from camera. Her studio is a must visit. We bought could of pics and got them shipped to our home, it's feels like capturing aurora and getting it home. Spoke with Dora in her studio and came to know how photography is built in her life, an amazing lady. I would look forward to join her in a photography workshop in future.

As an Alaskan I always try t stop by and view her Aurora photo and send all my friend there. My some day I will be able to attend one of her outstanding Aurora photo workshops.

Aurora Dora is the BEST! Her shop in Talkeetna is so beautiful and she is so knowledgeable about everything aurora / northern lights related! She remembers every single story and detail about all of her photos, and it’s amazing hearing all of them when she shows your around her gallery. She also offers free shipping on purchases which is amazing and makes sure your artwork gets home safely and doesn’t take up room in luggage!

I was looking for a gift for a very good friend and there was a wonderful selection. I made a purchase and received the print with in a week. Very pleasant to deal with, I will keep her store in mind for future purchases.

We got to talk with Dora as we reviewed the various breathtaking northern lights photographs. You can get them on canvas or metal and in different sizes. What was amazing was that Dora knew the date and location of every photograph on the walls. We were traveling and weren't going to be home for a while. Dora noted when we were going to be home and said she would wait to ship it. The photo arrived 2 days after we got home and was really packaged well (it shipped from Alaska to Colorado) and it came out of the packing perfect. My wife can hardly wait to get it up on the wall. Apparently, it doesn't go with the current wall color, so painting is in the future.

The selection, the pictures and sizes, is great. Most pictures are ordered on site and then shipped to your house about a week later. The clerk that was there was very friendly and helpful.

We went into this gallery to see the photos of the Aurora borealis it the photos were breath taking!! The artist who took the pictures runs her gallery and answers all your questions and is passionate about her work. We went back several times to just be amazed at her art. We would definetly go back to her gallery and make future purchases.

We visited Dora's store in Talkeetna and fell in love with her incredible pictures of the northern lights. The one we selected had everything - the aurora, Talkeetna, Milkey Way and Mount Denali (which we couldn't see during our guided tour). It's now hanging in our Minnesota home, and we can marvel at it every day!

Absolutely breathtaking photos of the aurora borealis. Dora is a delightful person and tells all about her photography. Standard cameras cannot capture the full beauty and brilliance of the northern lights. Aura Dora is a must see when in the area!

We visited the cute town of Talkeetna after a flight tour and landing on a glacier. I am so glad that we stopped to walk around the gift shops and my husband’s friend told us not to miss Aurora Dora’s. The friend lives in Alaska part time. I had no idea what the shop was but I sure am glad we all stopped by. Dora has beautiful photographs of Alaska for sale-all different price ranges. She is very talented.
It was so nice to meet Dora and talk with her. You will be happy you stopped by Aurora Dora’s!

Wonderful, amazing pictures of the Aurora Borealis in different locations, at different phases, with different foregrounds. Just stunning. I was in awe when I first walked into Aurora Dora's gallery to see such vivid pictures of the light from the Aurora plus the dramatic lighting of the foregrounds. I bought a picture and have it hanging in my office. Months later whenever I look at the picture I'm still mesmerized by it and spend minutes contemplating the contrasts and the beauty of it all.
