I took my grandchildren to this indoor water park and they had an amazing time. There were huge slides and an obstacle course to provide excitement for my 11-year old (and adults) and small slides and wading areas to entertain my 2-year old. The place is very clean and also includes an outdoor splash area. It would have been nicer if they had more lounging chairs than straight-back chairs but other than that it was wonderful. The noise level can get to you but it didn't really bother me except at the end of 6-1/2 hours. There is a snack bar inside that has good food for reasonable prices, along with an arcade.

I thought we had a good experience for the price. We spent around $100 for four people to get a day pass here. Because we were not staying at the hotel attached, we weren’t able to get into the water park until 11. It turned out to be okay, because the lines to get on the bigger slides were not long. Our kids went down everything multiple times and left happy.

Plenty of fun. Lazy river relaxation. Outdoor water attractions perfect with sun beaming. Game room was also an attraction for the children.

Good experience, great value on package price, amenities ,& food. Only complaint hotel, especially rooms could be cleaner and a little TLC....definetely some updates

This is a nice water park for young children. A smaller scale Great Wolf Lodge. We took our 5 & 7 yr old grandchildren for two days. Two complaints - the game room had alot of maintenance problems. Many games didn't work. Major complaint - the lifeguards were poor. Very inattentive to what was going on. Only noticed probably 2 of 6 or 8 guards correcting problem makers. At Great Wolf, that is their job. If your children are teenagers, go to Great Wolf in Cincinnati.

Our group of 9 and included 2 kids 11 and 5. The hotel and waterpark are very nice as were the employees we encountered. It would be much better if the rooms offered a microwave and small fridge..but that is not available..Other than that it was a every nice stay
Our stay included a free breakfast...but none of us recommend it. Not good...don't bother.

The hotel room was comfortable. Elevators were SLOW!!! Even though we were on the 5th floor we used the stairs quite a bit. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated for the Complimentary breakfast but once we had a table it had a nice variety and was delicious.. The water park was nice and my kids loved it. The only complaint we had with it was the chlorine overload and the cold temperature. The water itself wasn’t cold but the air was.

By Adventurewanderer73 |

Well worth the money - entire family ages 2 yrs to 65 had a blast. Chlorine content is high - be careful with the young ones.

The water park was a smaller park but fun. Boys played for about 2.5 hours before wanting to go home. Prize reasonable for what is provided.

By Uhlesa |

The water park was fine, if a bit outdated. But the room! There was mildew/mold on the air conditioning unit when we walked in. Trash and food items on the floor in the hallways. And the proverbial cherry on top... I found dirty children's underwear hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The whole place seems outdated and needs a revamp. Outdated can be forgiven if it's clean. Unfortunately, it was not clean.

All the rooms were apparently booked that weekend so they did not move our room. I understand that it's a family vacation destination and things happen, but this was just gross.

I read a lot of reviews about this place on trip advisor before coming and was kinda worried. Yet once there's had no worries. The water park is wonderful. The floors in the pools are concrete so be careful but my kids did well. We spent about 6 hours and had no issues with ventilation and the chlorine smells. They had windows open and fans on. Great place for a family. Also the pizza was good!

By makenna23 |

I would only recommend going if you have kids 10 or under. It's a blast if you're the right age. The main problem is the chemicals in the water park. It's poorly ventilated and will make you almost sick. The hotel is average, nothing fancy. Once again, a great time for appropriate aged kids.

Took my grandkids for a 'back to school' outing. The resort is clean and the waterpark was clean and well maintained. It is small, and we were able to keep up with our grandkids. I saw the workers manage and assist the guests and monitor the park. The ladies at the Snack counter were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, but basic. Being a hotel snob and a big Hilton fan - it did not compare - but it was sufficient and clean. The room had HOT water and excellent water pressure. The bed linens wee basic, but CLEAN. The carpeting in our rooms was clean (important to me). We received excellent service at check-in and were able to go to our room early as it was ready. I would recommend this resort for a quick getaway and highly recommend for younger children. We were there on a day when it was not overcrowded so my review is based on us having lots of access to all the facilities without long waits. The breakfast food was also basic, but sufficient. The fact that it is included in the price is nice. The pizza at the Snack Bar was basic, but again, sufficient - my grandkids finished off a 16" without complaint - and the whole price was $32 including drinks and a sandwich for me. We will go back next year - this is a wonderful getaway for a fun time without a long drive (from Louisville).

The Big Splash indoor waterpark is a very fun place to stop if you are in the French Lick area. They have attractions for kids of all ages. However, you cannot expect this to entertain your kids for an all-day period. What we did was go for about a half of a day and then did some activities around French Lick. (Of which there are plenty) We did that for two days and it worked out really well for our family consisting of both younger and teenage children. The only complaint is some of the areas were dirty, so just a little more cleaning and it would be 5 star worthy!

I don’t understand why this restaurant isn’t listed separately as a restaurant in the French Lick area. We’ve eaten here multiple times over the years and the food is always REALLY good!

We went here for a family lunch the day after a Christmas. A variety of items were ordered, and everyone really enjoyed it.

Our server was very friendly and attentive, but not overbearing, and the kitchen was efficient with a timely order.

If you’re in French Lick and looking for affordable family dining with a good variety of the menu, I recommend you check out The Boatyard at Big Splash.

It is located just to the left of the main lobby through the gift shop. We will definitely be back!!!

The staff at Big splash is very rude. The family bathroom was out of soap, I told the front desk and lifeguard. 2 hours later it was still out. They don't allow children in the hottub which is really annoying because you can't relax because your child or teenager can't even sit close. The edges of the lazy river and whirlpool in the basket pool are very rough concrete. All 3 of my children, myself, my husband, mother in law, father, and brothers family of 5 had bloody toes and skin peeled off our feet and scratches and bloody marks on our arms. In the course of 30 minutes today(10/9/23) I watch 3 kids go down the smaller kids tube slide- one got scratches down his back that bled, another scratched his face and arm, and the third was on his belly and went straight off the slide onto his face and started bleeding. It was very powerful and the water pressure he couldn't get up. (He was a pretty skinny boy). The locker we had just kept popping open- we finally got another one after waiting 45 mins. It was very loud and I was appalled by how rude multiple guards were. We were there 2 days, and our party of 12 will not be back. The breakfast was also a lot smaller then there used to be, they were out of a few things by 730am and it goes until 10. For as far as we drove and expensive as it is, we could have found better use of our money.

By jjt1993 |

I was impressed that there were enough activities to keep our 13 year olds girls as well as our 3 year old grandson entertained. The water park staff were all very friendly and everything was very well kept. Our room was nice and had all the basic amenities. We will likely be back soon :)

By Dean M |

For all that is included I found Big Splash to be a good value.

I the rooms were nice and clean and of a decent size.

The Water Park was nice but a little small once it got busy. I think its more geared for younger than teenagers. The change rooms were disappointing for the size of the establishment. You can't really plant to spend a whole day there like holiday world.

Breakfast was a buffet of good variety. I didn't mind it but my gf thought it was gross.

Overall I enjoyed my time at Big Splash and found it to be a decent value.

We visited using a website deal January 2nd. Our family stayed at French Lick. The waterpark itself is nice, but the chlorine smell was overwhelming. I had to leave the park several times because my eyes were burning so bad and my 9 year old had a cough that actually started to scare me. We ended up staying for only a little over an hour in the waterpark and then ventured out into the arcade. Half of the games were broken there. I had $15 in tokens so my kids ended up playing the same 4 games over and over. When I asked what was the deal with all of the broken games, I was told that they all broke over New Years Eve and day and are going to be repaired shortly.
On a positive note, the staff is very friendly.
I would not personally return here and until they get the chlorine levels under control, I would be very weary about taking a family with young kids here.

By Queenie |

The hotel was basic. We only needed it for sleeping and shower! We spent most of our time at water park. It was a nice weekend getaway! We picked a good weekend as it was not very busy at all! We will return in the future.

I purchased groupons for myself and 5 others to go to the water park this weekend for a birthday. I went online to purchase day passes so that I could get our tickets. When coming to a spot that told me I could use groupon on next page I was unable to so I called. Lady who answered was rude, I asked her for assistance made me feel like an idiot. She stated that when you purchase a groupon you have to just show up and take your chance that they are not at full capacity already. Then let me know that they still have rooms available that come with tickets. What poor service, I am not driving myself and the kids to a waterpark and hope we are able to get in . Clearly I purchased the groupon because I was not able to afford a room for everyone and tickets at full price. Very upset with their customer service. You would think they would let you reserve tickets for your family if you have already purchased the groupons so you do not drive all the way there and they are already at max capacity. I wish they would make this right so we can enjoy the birthday party like we planned.

Nice indoor waterpark and hotel. Pretty good value for the price. We have been a few times, but this was the first time staying at the hotel. Staying there was much more convenient. Restaurant on site offered pretty good selection and nice breakfast buffet was included in our stay. The waterpark has 4 big slides and some ones for the smaller kids as well, different play areas and a lazy river. It can get really crowded in here because this park is open to people not staying in the hotel too. Room was nice and clean. Would have been great to have more than 2 chairs in the room to sit in. Hotel provides towels at the waterpark for guests, but I found myself waiting for them. Staff friendly and attentive as can be for this busy place. It did not have as many slides as Great Wolf Lodge did, but it was a lot cheaper than what I paid at GWL too. Lots of family-friendly things to do close by as well. My son was disappointed that half the arcade games were out of order too.

By Guide18642 |

8 yr old and 2 yr old had a blast at the water park. Hotel rooms were decent. Staff not service oriented but not rude either. Keep expectations low and you'll be pleased.

By James N |

Not terrible besides the bottom of the pool being very rough. I was fairly cut up after my last slide

By Cris P |

My daughters (age 7 and 8) loved it here. We did an overnight stay so we were able to enjoy the water park for two days. They thought it was awesome to be able to swim and slide in the middle of cold, rainy weather. We found it to be pretty clean, and the lifeguards seemed to be attentive which was something that seemed to be an issue in other reviews.

By joni8360 |

We took 4 grandchildren there for Valentine's Day weekend. Spent two nights in their hotel. The kids loved it I thought the water park manager wS very rude. Arcade games well about one third of those were broken. It is nice they offer a free breakfast but it really wasn't worth the wait. I feel the rooms are way too high for what it is really but we do it for the grandkids and like I said they had a great time

By Brittany O |

This hotel has a 76% rating. I read a lot of the reviews and decided to go ahead and give it a try. If you are a worrier about your kids being too loud or have a little one pick a different hotel!

We decided to stay here since we did the Polar Express on a Friday from 7:30-9pm. I have a 6 year old, 4 year old, and a 1.5 year old. We got back to the hotel at 930pm. Since we were just staying 1 night we didn’t bring the pack n play. She got up a couple of times and went from one bed to the other just walking. She wasn’t crying the boys were in bed not yelling they were on the phone and iPad. We got everyone down in bed by 9:55. Anyone knows with kids that’s pretty good! At 10:05 we get a knock on the door saying we were being too loud and that we needed to quiet down? Now my kids are crawling out of bed to see who is at the door and my 1 year old is now back up. Quiet time was at 11pm. The rest of the night I was worrying about the kids getting up to go to the bathroom or if the baby started crying. It was like walking on eggshells and was unable to even sleep! Pick a different hotel!

This is a very nice water park. Everyone had a great time. A wide variety of fun activities were enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Very clean and well kept.

My family of 6 recently visited Big Splash on a Sunday afternoon - Monday late morning. We got to the hotel around 1 pm and were able to check into our room immediately. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The room appeared clean (although all drawers/cabinets were open and cushions were off the chairs - not sure if that was on purpose to show that there was nothing in the room when we entered?? - regardless it wasn't a big deal to close everything up) My children LOVED the bunk bed area and our king bed was one of the more comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The water park was fun for my kids aged 9, 7, 3, 2. The 3 year old loved it the most, the play area with the 2 body slides was just the right size for him to play on. My 9 and 7 year old got bored on the water slides after an hour or so but loved the outdoor pool (their favorite part of the stay - go figure!) My husband and I enjoyed the park for the most part. We felt comfortable letting the 3 and 2 year old roam around the kiddie areas without keeping a hold of their hand and just watching them, unlike we would be able to do at Holiday World or a larger place. There was a family of MANY kids (like 8 - 10 in the group) that were crawling UP the water slides in the kids area and my husband and I both had to tell them to stop because there was no life guard and when I did alert a staff member she just looked at me and turned back to keep washing the deck off with a hose (Sunday evening).
Our room did have ants in it. I killed at least 10 and i saw them crawling over by the window. I am not afraid of bugs, so it didn't bother me TOO much, but i was sure to wash everything when we got home, even the couple things we didn't wear.
Breakfast the next morning was okay - not anything to write home about, but edible. We did not eat or drink anything else onsite - went to the local fast food places for meals and snacks. Check out was simple and the front desk did seem concerned when she heard about the ants in the room. We did not experience big crowds (i think because it was Sunday- Monday) and the roof was open because the weather was nice, so didn't have any problems with the chlorine smells that some complain about. Will we go back? Maybe, nothing happened to turn me off from going back, but nothing really was so awesome that I need to go back and do it again, either. The best part for Mom was the fact that we could take the little boys up for a nap and dad and the girls could go back down to the water park without us - that convenience was very nice, so if you have toddlers, that part is very handy.

We were on the way to a trip to Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell, IN when it starting pouring. We passed up the state park and headed for Big Splash last minute. They were very accommodating and welcoming. Everyone was very nice. The hotel.l was super clean and comfortable. The water park was great! Very clean and temperature was perfect. Tubes were limited but we managed just fine. We had dinner at the Boat Yard restaurant on the main floor which was excellent! Really good food. Breakfast buffet was basic but also very good food! Another thing we liked was that you did not have to carry room keys or your wallet any where. Everything is on a wrist band that is put on you upon check in. My whole family loved this place and would definetly stay here again. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Kid had a blast. Yea hotel may be a little dated. But well worth the trip. The water park was nice and enjoyable. Fun family getaway.

By Brittany C |

Room was clean. The water park outside and inside were both nice and clean. My kids had a blast ages(5&7) only complaint is a lot of the games in the arcade were out of order. Price includes a buffet breakfast food was decent. There was also laser tag and miniture golf which was a lot of fun. All staff was very nice and helpful.

By Patrick J |

Kids (4,7,7) had a big time in the park. There are fun slides and a lazy river. In general the park and hotel could use some upgrades. However, in comparison to something like Great Wolf Lodge this is a nice value.

By Emily M |

Does it need updating? Yes. Are the rooms bland and boring? Yes. Did we let that stop us from having a fun trip? No.

Our kids had a blast at the waterpark, despite it being a little chilly for the ambient air temperature. The water was decently warm. We were annoyed that kids had to wear a life vest anywhere near a body of water…even when I was holding our one year old next to the pool, watching my husband and preschooler swim.

If you are expecting something like Great Wolf Lodge, lower your expectations, but this is still a fun night away!!

By Lacy |

The water park is getting old with little to no upkeep. Rust everywhere, sharp edges (both my kids cut their feet). Minimally staffed with only teenagers (no adult was seen all day), no janitorial staff (all the women's stalls were out of toilet paper by the end of the day, with 2 toilets clogged and overflowing, and never got fixed). Lifeguard staffing for the slides was shear chaos, they wouldn't allow kids to go up the stairs until it was almost empty (maybe due to all the rust!), but then it blocked the whole area underneath. Only one lifeguard working all 4 slides up top, so everything went very slowly. Only one teenage boy working the concessions/cashier area, so that was very slow as well (poor kid!). Overall the kids had some fun, but was miserable for the adults.

By Jason G |

Our kids really enjoyed themselves to the point the didn't want to leave. The staff was courteous and helpful. The complaints that were reviewed previously about the chlorine being overwhelming seem to have been resolved. Also, the water temperature varied depending on which area you were in, some of the slides were cooler, but the pools/lazy river were comfortable. All in all, everything was adequate and I felt like it was a good value considering we had a night's lodging, two days water park access, free breakfast and a free game of mini golf for around $150. Much more inexpensive than great wolf lodge. Everything was clean and comfortable.

By Jeremy D |

This water park is very fun for all ages. The area for smaller children was perfect for my 4 yr old. The place isn't so big that you can't keep an eye on the kids. I would highly recommend this for families staying in the area.

By Justin W |

Stayed 2 nights over Spring Break. Had several issues with the room. The housekeeper had not cleaned the shower nor changed the sheets in our room. Did not expect this when paying these prices for a room (with considering included park passes). Management was professional and kind in admitting fault and fixing issues. Included breakfast buffet is excellent and restaurant good for dinner too.

By kelkel98 |

I took my 12 and 14 yr old kids here for two nights. Not usually an indoor pool person, but this resort was so very clean. The water was clear and inviting. Lifeguards were very attentive and friendly. My kids loved the basketball pool and the slide that sends you into a big bowl swirling you to the bottom. I enjoyed the adults only jacuzzi and lazy river.
For dinner we ate in the hotel restaraunt. Good food! Rooms were clean and comfy. Lazer tag and glow golf were big hits. Great getaway! My only negative was we had trouble unlocking our door with the bracelets. It typically took 4 or 5 times before working. Other than that,Very happy. Will be back this winter for sure!!!

This is a decent place to take the family but best for just a night or two as it’s pretty small. The floor is rough on tender feet but the staff is friendly and welcoming. Our room was fairly quiet and the bed was super comfortable. The facility itself isn’t aesthetically appealing but it provides plenty of entertainment for the family and is located near a lot of other amenities that French Lick has to offer.

By Alan W |

It was a nice little getaway with two of the grandkids. We stayed one night, wasn’t very crowded so had plenty of room to self distance. They have a game room that you win tickets, not an arcade just a money pit but the boys enjoy it. They had plenty of places to eat on the premises at reasonable prices and cold beer if you need one after the little ones go to sleep. French lick casino is close by but not walking distance but maybe five minutes if you need a little adult entertainment. All in all a nice getaway. I would recommend

By Lisa B |

The kids enjoyed the water park. The restaurants were reasonably priced for lunch. We had a suite and while it was a nice room with plenty of space, the AC in the room was not working properly and everyone was very uncomfortable and did not sleep well at all. We did inform the front desk and they made note of the room # and that was it. Other then the AC no complaints.

By Mcigrl |

My husband and I spent the weekend with our 8 year old. The hotel was clean and it looked like it was well taken care of. I would have liked a toilet seat lid so I wouldn't worry about items falling in by accident. The staff were very nice during our stay. We were granted entry into the water park the day we arrived and the entire day we left. Check out was at 11am but we stayed in the water park well after that time. The breakfast was good and fresh. Yes there was a line to get seated but it seemed to go fast. I was so glad to see that the water park and its rest rooms were very clean. We have stayed at other hotels with water parks and we were not so lucky. They did have peeling paint in that area which needs to be spruced up. Overall we were very happy with our stay. The only complaint was the loud people in the room above us. That was a problem with the other guests and not the hotel. This was my 1st trip to French Lick and I wished they had more for families. We played laser tag and mini golf at the bottom of the resort driveway. It was good and reasonably priced. There were not many other options for entertainment and dining. Overall we were happy with our stay and would like to go back. Maybe this winter because it is close to Paoli Peaks snow tubing.

By Mo Morales |

Took two of our grandkids and they truly had a blast. The accommodations were comfortable and there is one restaurant on site and a snack bar by the pool. Would go back.

By Jaynel C |

We came with 4 kids from age 4 to 15. Water Park is fun but chlorine is very strong in the air and kids all ended up with burning eyes and coughing.

By Senoritam1 |

Is small compared to places like great wolf lodge, but a good family environment. I felt safe letting my kids not be connected to my hip, because they could be in eye's view. The baby pool was nice and heated. I wish the lazy river was a,little longer. The game room needs to get, some new games that work. Overall it was a no frills fun and safe getaway. I would do it again. BTW one day 2-close is enough time.

By ANR_78 |

My wife and I took our two kids (11 & 7) for a day at the water park but didn't stay at the hotel so it cost us just a hair shy of $100. We were there for about 2 hours in the morning before it was time to go look for some food off site (nothing there looked appetizing). We kept our bracelets on all day so we ended up going back later that same afternoon and let the kids hit the slides for another hour or two. At their age they really enjoyed the slides and the monkey bar/basketball pool but the lazy river was a bit too slow for them and about 2 laps was all they could handle. We also chose to go on a Tuesday morning so it wasn't very crowded at all. I don't think I ever saw the slide staircase more than 1/4 full so the kids got to go up and down nearly as quickly as they wanted. The facility is a bit dated and could use some maintenance but the kids enjoyed their time so it was a successful trip.

Went for a weekend getaway with family. Called to reserve our rooms so that we could have joining rooms and was told we would. Arrived and checked in only to find out our rooms where not adjoining so when we went to ask the front desk we were informed they were sold out for the night and we could complain on the survey when we checked out. Mind you we paid more by not booking online for the same room so that we could have adjoining rooms. Also bathtub had a very slow drain along with the corners in the bathroom were filthy. Room smelled of sulfa the whole time we were there and they had towels stuffed in the Windows to stop them from leaking although this did not work since the curtians had water/rust looking stains on them. Overall it was disapointing as far as clean goes, but the kids loved it so that is all that maters.

Got a great package deal during our first visit last October and had a blast with the kids! We had so much fun, that we quickly booked another short stay. We had read reviews about people getting sick or coughing, but hat was not he case during or first stay. During our second stay in December, the water park was more crowded due to winter break, but we still had a blast. However, after being at the park a couple of hours, our entire family started coughing and gagging. We first thought it was associated with going down the slides but then found we were still coughing when we were sitting in the chairs completely out of the water! We took a break for the night and decided to try again in the morning, thinking maybe we had just been there too long. The next morning though, we were coughing within 30 minutes of arriving. We weren't the only ones either, others were having the same symptoms. We haven't been back since but would still be willing to give the resort another try because of the good prices and the fun we had on previous visits. Just chasing this unfortunate visit up to a chemical imbalance...

By Jerry S |

Wonderful place to stay. We booked a special which included miniature golf and motel at a great rate. The restaurant in the hotel was very nice. Free breakfast buffet every morning. This is a great place for younger kids do not compare it to other indoor swimming place like the one by Gatlinburg Tennessee. Great great great

By IndianaWeber |

Waterpark is small but kids enjoyed it got bored after a few hours.

Slides are rough for adults. Noticed the hot tub was dirty or stained at the stairs. Otherwise seemed pretty clean. Chemicals were not an issue.

Towels are small and you can not take them up to your room.

It was ok but probably not a return visit.

We planned a fun weekend at Big Splash for my son’s third birthday. We invited our family from around the state, and we were excited to meet everyone there. Several of our other family members, however, ended up getting sick last minute and were unable to attend. Big Splash has a policy where rooms can only be cancelled 72 hours in advance for a full refund, or by 8pm the night prior for gift card credit for a future date. Obviously, no one knew they were sick 72 hours in advance, but we were able to get a gift card credit at least. We live 3+ hours away and aren’t sure when we will be able to come back to use it, but nevertheless.... we were glad to at least get that much.

What was more frustrating to us (and the reason for this review) was that when we arrived at the resort, we asked about reducing the birthday package (which included food, park entrance, etc) we had reserved for the next day, since our party had significantly reduced. None of the staff (literally no one) had any authority to talk to us, and we were repeatedly told that the “one” manager responsible had called in that day. Ironically, the manager ended up not being available the entire length of our stay. We even left our number at the front desk asking for someone to call us about it (even though we were at the resort already), but no one bothered to call us back. Eventually, we were told no refunds/changes to the birthday package allowed, no exceptions (or at no exceptions for the “unauthorized” staff behind the desk....). We ended up having to pay for an extraordinary amount of food and park entries that just went to waste. Adding that to the empty rooms we had to pay for... it was frustrating to say the least.

We understand why the resort might have policies in place to discourage last-minute changes... What we really dont understand was why it was necessary for us to pay for all the food we did not need (and had not yet been made), or why we had to pay for park admittances that were not used. What was worse.... we asked if we could at least have the extra arm bands we had purchased (thinking we’re coming back anyway for the gift card, right?). They wouldn’t let us have them, even though we had paid for them.... Really? When/if we come back, we guess we will have to buy even MORE armbands...??

Overall, we haven’t decided if we’re coming back to use our gift card yet (and buy new armbands), but it’s unlikely we’ll ever do another birthday party. In our opinion, the customer service could seriously use some help.

We have a family with teens and am 8 yr old. There's something for everyone!! Me and my husband played just as much as our kids did!! So much fun. Staff was so nice. We didn't stay at the resort but we ate at their restaurant. Food was fine and not over priced fortunately with a family of 5!! Highly recommended

Surprisingly very nice water park. Something for everyone including a lazy river, hot tub, pool, slides, kiddie splash area and children’s play area. Life vests are provided as well as towels. There is a gift shop where you can purchase swimsuits, goggles, and swim shoes if needed. Lifeguards were on duty

We were lucky enough to grab a special rate for this place. Very fun water park with glass walls/ceiling to let the sun shine in! Tickets for the mini golf down the hill, and breakfast. Bunk beds for the kids as well.

We are on the road to camp after this, and it was a nice little overnight to relieve the road-trip sleepiness, but we'd be just as happy staying here a few days!

I actually liked this place. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but while it didn't blow me out of the water, I sure enjoyed myself the couple of days that we were there. Our room, 1129, was huge. It was a King room that had a large bathroom, in-room fridge, TV, internet access, a large dresser/desk, a side table with two chairs, nice lighting and separate sink. Our room special included access to the water park and free breakfast buffet. The breakfast was ok. I can't complain because it was free, and, it was pretty low-carb friendly with ham, sausage patties, and sausage links. It also had other selections as well. My gripe was the lack of soft drinks available. They had water, coffee, orange juice and milk available. I like a Diet Coke in the morning and they were absolutely unable to provide that. I had a couple in the room, luckily. The water park is really fun. Has an ADULT ONLY hot tub!!!! Love that! And, they are strict on that as well. Also the lazy rive REQUIRES you to have a tube, which are readily available. It's nice and long and has various spilling buckets, spraying water and the like. It is easy to avoid if you don't like that, but come on. You're in a water park. It's ok to get splashed! Oh, speaking of splash, the Buccaneer Bay is awesome. It's a little kids area with two slides, a huge spilling bucket and various water features to play with. Very kid friendly. Inside, there is also an indoor pool and an obstacle course, which is fun. Outside, there is an outdoor zero-entry pool that was quite cold, but kids seemed to like it. Not me! Inside, the water park has opening roof panels that is nice. Ok, the slides. I did them all and liked them all. There are two body slides that do not use tubes. All slides are enclosed. The blue body slide is absolutely dark with no light. It is fast and you can't tell which way is up. It empties into a splash pool The yellow body slide is enclosed, but allows light in, so it's not dark. It's probably the fastest slide there, and empties into a run-out chute. There is a red enclosed tube slide that is fun, fast, and dark. It empties into the same splash pool as the blue body slide. That splash pool connects to the lazy river. They also have a bowl slide that is incredibly fun. It accommodates either a single or double tube and is the run-of-the-mill bowl slide. Go down a chute, come out in the bowl, do a few laps, and empty into the exit slide that empties into a run-out chute. Life guards at the top of the tower monitor the exits to ensure that they are clear before sending riders down. Lines move fairly quick and if you are on a body slide without a tube, head on up past those in line with tubes.
Overall, a really fun, family friendly experience and I will be back.

The place was pretty busy but so fun for us and our three year old. Decent amount of things for a young child to keep busy with. Felt safe and so fun

We had a Groupon that included $40 arcade credit, overnight stay, and mini golf or laser tag at shotz. This is our second time going and overall it was a good visit. The room was very clean and the hotel was quiet. We ate in the restaurant downstairs and the food was good. They have a gift shop that the kids bought a small souvenir. We enjoyed the free breakfast that had many options, we got there as they started breakfast so everything was full and fresh. We went to the water park when they opened the second day and I found it unclean. There were hair balls by the drains, used bandaids and baby wipes on the floor, this isn’t what you should see when a place opens for the day. The first day we were there we got there at 4 so I didn’t expect it to be sparking clean. I do expect adults to supervise their kids. There were bigger kids going on the small slides too close to one another. My 5 year old got kicked in the back from another kid going down immediately after her. There was one lifeguard for both slides in the kids bucket area. Some kids were not listening to his instructions and it became dangerous for my little one. Overall, not enough supervision and when there was two lifeguards in an area they were socializing, not watching the kids. I also don’t think a child who can swim should have to wear a life jacket in the 2 1/2 foot lazy river when the parents are with them. This is the same with the indoor and outdoor pool, if children are under a certain height they have to wear floatation in all areas, yes even in ankle deep water. My daughter knows how to swim and I was with her but she doesn’t meet the height requirement. She obviously did not want to swim in the pools because she couldn’t swim underwater, do handstands, etc without a life jacket choking her. I did want to mention there was only one lifeguard enforcing the life jacket with her and we were enjoying the pools without floatation earlier that day. She was tall enough to ride the tube slides with a life jacket and that I didn’t have an issue with that. The park was very crowded the first day in the afternoon but there but the lines for the slides moved pretty quickly.

it needs some fixing up. Rough concrete - many sprayers broke - it didn't seem to crowded even though it was packed. Water slides were fun but chlorine levels!!! whoa!!

Lots of options for small children and several bigger slides for the "big kids." Even so, we only spent about three hours at the water park and arcade before we had had our fill. All in all, it's a fine option if you mainly want to occupy small kids and have a coupon or discount so that you feel like you can get your money's worth faster. If you want a full-day activity, there are larger parks in the area for not that much more cost.

We stayed one night. The waterpark seemed a little too full considering the restrictions that have been set in place due to Covid-19. Very limited seating for the amount of people in the park. Our room was missing a few item, iron, coffee, coffee condiments and cups. The towels were super soft. Breakfast was decent but pretty bland.

We had a groupon to use for the four of us...two kids and two adults. It included water park entry, tokens and drinks. The water park was smaller than I expected, but adequate. You could relax knowing your kids were not far. My kids liked the water slides and lazy river. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub for adults only. The temperature in the water park seemed to be a little chilly because I wasn't the only one shivering. Everyone seemed to have a good time and it's a pretty nice area. The manager at the snack area(forgot her name) gave great customer service and was a pleasure to be around. Everyone in customer service should be like that. I did not feel the need to pay 199 to spend the night and swim. The day trip was plenty for us. The kids enjoyed it and it's a great deal if bought through Groupon.

We really liked the water park area. It was clean. The 4 water slides were a lot of fun! Even when the water slide line was at the bottom of the stairs it went really fast. There is 2 slides that use tubes and 2 that don’t. You can do single or double tubes. There is a hot tub that’s adults only.

We liked the different styles of hotel rooms. It was nice to have bunk beds for the kids. I wish the sink would have been in the bathroom. My complaint was we had a dirty pillow case and dirty blanket in our room where the kids were going to sleep. Thankfully the rest of the room looked clean. Be prepared since there’s lots of little kids here there is lots of kids running and doors slamming all day long. Our to go breakfast in the morning was biscuits and gravy, Honey Nut Cheerios, yogurt, apple and granola bar.

This was planned in advance as part of our week long trip to French Lick. We had a really nice time just relaxing at the pool, the hot tub and the lazy river. My son enjoyed the arcade as well. You need to keep in mind, if you're not a guest of the hotel, they do limit the number of tickets for outside guests. You also need to purchase those tickets online as they were not available at the front gate. As several other have mentioned the bottoms are a little rough. The food was a bit expensive and while palatable, not the best we've ever had. I saw quite a few locals out in the parking lot eating picnic style with food they brought. All in all though, when in town again we all agreed we would not mind going back.

I loved how efficient the check in was and the room key is your armband for the water park. The thing I didn't like about that is that they didn't seem to check armbands at the water park. The water attractions were wonderful and my kids loved the slides and my husband and I frequented the last river and hot tub. The hit tub was nice because it was gated off for 18 and up to enjoy! I didn't think it was over chlorinated, and it seemed well cared for. Every evening we were there we stayed in the arcade and could see the workers cleaning and spraying down the surfaces. The breakfast in the morning was yummy and you're seated with your family and then allowed to go to the buffet. The floor in the restaurant seemed sticky. Overall though the hotel and facility was clean. Great value.

By opa1945 |

While staying in French Lick I got a day pass and went to the waterpark for a few hours. At 69 the 69 steps to the beginning of the water slides were a long way. Each of the slides were fine. I enjoyed the bowl the most since it was the most unusual.
Sitting in a tube on the lazy river was very relaxing as well. Sitting in the hot tub relaxed a few travel muscles.

We reserved a suite which had one king and one queen bed (which was in a separate room) and had 2 bathrooms. Room was spacious and had refrig and microwave. We had a wasp problem in second bedroom. Resort was full so we closed off that room and 3 of us slept in the king bed and 2 slept in vehicle. That wasn't the resorts fault and they graciously comped the first night and moved us to different suite the next day. It was a hassle packing things up and it used up majority of next day and one of us had to stay back and wait to move and set things up again. Then it turned out the heating and air unit in the second bedroom didn't work at all so 2 more in the vehicle the second night. 😧. Breakfast buffet had a nice assortment. Dinner was decent and portions were large. Was glad we hadn't opted for the additional pkg cost of their other amenities, miniature golf, laser tag, etc as people didn't have good things to say about them.

Overall the resort was in need of some serious tlc and had noticeable staffing shortages. My grand daughters enjoyed the water park area.

We enjoyed our time at Big Splash. There were things for people of all ages to do. We have a big family, so sometimes it's hard because either our older kids are bored, or our littles are too little. But this offered something for all of us to enjoy. I'm not sure it would be worth the full admission price, but we found an online coupon and it was well worth the amount we paid.

By Kmorgan1976 |

There were older children and teenagers running wild knocking children over with no consequence. There were teenagers armed with whistles to try to control hundreds of overexcited children. My son and I were in a double raft floating around when a group of children dumped us out and I hit my head on the concrete wall. The lifeguards were no help stating they didn't know where the children's parents were located and they do not have the authority to pull them out. The area was overcrowded. Very expensive disappointment. Will not be back.

We had a rain day so our family ventured over to the waterpark. Is was very nice for such a small town. Family had a great time for about 2 hours.

I have mixed feelings about this place.

Room: The room was fair - wished it had a refrigerator. Beds were comfy, space was adequate. The cleaning staff was friendly. Like the wrist band check in (no keys).

Restaurant: Waited a while to place orders. Food was nothing to brag about, no one in my party finished what they were given (clam strips, burger, and chicken strips). Fairly priced for being in a hotel.

Water Park: First thing - was the note on the door about the Chloramines. I had read previous reviews about the concerns. Even with suggested breaks, my kids got sick - and there wasn't even a heavy bathload at the time. Others were coughing and one of my kids threw up. It really upset them, they wanted to have fun and enjoy the water park because they thought it was so cool. But what kid wants to do something that is going to make them cough and throw up?

Doubt we will go back, I will pay the extra money and go elsewhere. :( Or maybe return in the summer when the enclosure is open to provide proper ventilation.

Didn't complain to management because obviously they are aware of the "flu-like" symptoms and sickness due to the Chloramines.

We stayed for 2 days during our week long fall break. There were 4 kids ages 3-6 and 4 adults. We had a great time. The check in time was not until 3 pm and when we arrived at 12:30, our room was ready. The room had plenty space for us and was spotless. The entire staff was completely professional and polite! The lifeguards at the pool do a great job of keeping the amusements orderly also. Thanks for a great mini getaway!

Then come inside!
When my husband first said we were headed to French Lick Indiana on our recent getaway I thought he had lost his mind. So I Googled it to see what was around and found some interesting things but my biggest surprise was Big Splash Adventure's at the hotel we were staying.
Hours of fun and a great thing to do with kids! And the adults can even grab an adult beverage if they're so inclined. Will return in the summer!

By Blanche D |

We have been twice, both times in May. Staff is always friendly . The breakfast is good. Rooms are clean. Kids have a blast. Arcade games usually have several out of order ones, but we go there for water park..not arcade games. Chlorine smell is bad.

By Bluepanther C |

We are the most pleased with the Sunsplash Suite we stayed in. Very clean. Separate bedroom with bath for the parents. Living area with king size bed, pullout sofa, small table/chairs and 2nd bathroom for the kids. We were on the 2nd floor which is where you enter the waterpark so that was nice. Had a great pizza from the snack bar.
Our only complaint is the almost nonexistent wifi. Probably more annoying when it's promised as an amenity. The free breakfast buffet was nicer than expected. After being seated by the hostess, we filled our plates with eggs, toast, sausage, biscuits/gravy, pancakes and French toast sticks.
We bought a two day pkg with laser tag and indoor cosmic golf. Loved it!

Went for a single night as a family of 24 with 4 separate rooms. Rooms are in need of TLC and one of the air conditioning units wasn't working-we could deal with that. What was so so disappointing is that the waterpark was so crowded you could barely walk. The lazy river was no longer lazy-it was a sloth like trip. People in tubes covered the ENTIRE lazy river and it sludged along at a snails pace. Fun right? The kids section was so crowded that our smaller kids couldn't even get to the slide entrances. When they did, older kids were pushing them out of the way. The lifeguards were around but not really paying attention. It was utter chaos. You couldn't swim or play games in the pool due to crowds. And the lines for the big slides were 30-35 minutes long. It is so sad that this "resort" values day pass patrons over hotel guests. There is NO limit to the number of day passes being sold. I asked several park employees what the park limit was and kept being told "I don't think we have one. We just keep letting people in if they bought their passes." NO limit? Why would I pay to stay overnight at almost $300 per room if there are no perks? Why does the resort even rent rooms? I would have been better off staying at a hotel down the street and buying day passes. Oh-hotel guests had two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening without day pass guests in the resort. Big deal-by the time the 2 hour day pass free time came, our kids were cranky and tired. We used to love coming here as it was an easy drive and midpoint between all of our families. We won't be coming back any time soon.

We checked on and went to room. On inspecting it there were stains and blood looking stuff on sheet. We called front desk and we're given another room. Still not the cleanest room I've been in. Water park was ok but could have been cleaner. The breakfast was ok but most of the food was cold or cheap stuff.

By not@work |

This was kind of a mess for us. You have two little kids super excited about going swimming and you get there (we didn't stay at the hotel) and you are told you can't go in because they are not excepting any more Groupon or fund raiser entrants right now (they are at capacity). Other people were allowed entry as our young ones stood there and cried. Now I get that hotel guests should be first served but if there was anything on the Groupon or Big Splash website letting those particular groups know that they might be restricted, I sure missed it. We watched as those that paid cash were let in so we offered to pay full price but we were not allowed to do that either. We were told to come back in 3 or so hours which we called before coming back to town and found out we could get in so rushed in and the kids had a great time! The water park is not as big as the pictures let you believe but my little ones had a blast and were exhausted after 4-5 hours. I'm not sure of the solution but maybe just posting what restrictions may come up when the water park is really busy.

Very disappointed. Supposed to be a fathers day experience.

The name of the park fas resembling so much the name of the waterpark in Santa Claus.

We were asked in a ridiculous way to verify reservation - by the last digits of our cart, we paid with.
What about I lost it ?!?!

We were sent to a room that was not ready.
We're given latter a room on the 5th floor.

The hotel must be smock-free. There were at least 50 cigarette buds laying by the front door of the hotel.
I mention it at check-in. Frontdarsk lady promise to take care - 4hs later - same. The closeby garbage cans were overflowing with garbage - very unpleasant. Looks like they had cleaning grownds once of the week.

The room was Ok clean wise but to my dismay, 10 inches of the curtain was ripped sagging. When I want to get in bed - I see that I am missing a sheet on both queen beds.
First time in my travel life I was offered to sleep with NOT TOP SHEET.
It was like this
a Mattress cover
Flat sheet put as the fitted sheet
BLANKET
Flat sheet used as bedcover/quilt ...

I call them and asked them how many sheets we have to have on the bed, she answers 3
And back up with a question - What bed you have - Queen, I said
Oh, they are different - you get 2. - bogus. They do not wash the blankets and offer the beds like this. I am speechless. I had to redo the beds

The water park is covered.
The lockers are not complimentary for the guests - there were 15 people in the park and steel - no free lockers available. Had to go back to my room to leave my phone.
The rides are OK, the water was clear, but there were big, up to 2 feet of white matter many sports laying on the bottom of the lazy river. Look suspicious and unpleasant. My family complained of a burning sensation on the face and eyes.
We even did not think about a second day there. We simply ran.

The breakfast was one in a brown bag - like prisoner stile - bare minimum.
Someone is making saving there big time and that is not the guests.

I do not recommend this place.

Typical indoor water park, the hot tub is nice when adults don't allow their children to get in. The water is usually cold. Staff are always friendly, there is a game if the kids don't want to swim, not a lot of water slides.

By Jen H |

I'm writing this review as I'm sitting in the nasty room. If definitely wasn't cleaned prior to us checking in. The tub had hair everyplace shampoo running down the walls. The floor had food and trash everyplace. Bed was broken down. The pillows needed thrown out years ago. Walls are paper thin.

By Jeremy E |

We brought our six, five and three year olds to the water park to celebrate the new year. Two years running we’ve done this. The kids had a wonderful time -they’re at the ages where they can really enjoy something like this independently. Inside the water park, my only complaint was with the treehouse in the front. More than half of the water park features on the treehouse weren’t functional.

The food is ok - standard park fare. Not crazy overpriced. The one thing about the food area I would mention was this - I counted 34 game machines and 12 weren’t working. Many of the 12 were plugged in and on, just wasting power. Fixing these up or at least turning them off makes sense.

Overall a good trip. Kids love it here.

We have been to Big Splash Water Park 3-4 times and have always had a great experience! The hotel is clean (for a water park hotel) and decent. **Ask to stay on the 2nd floor because that is the entrance to the water park. Easy for coming and going with older kids The resort restaurant has fairly good food, and the morning buffet breakfast is enough to satisfy everyone's tastes. A fun getaway from the Fishers IN area just under 3 hours...

By Jessica S |

Unsanitary with used bandaids in"clean" hotel room and throughout the waterpark, which my kids came out of with cuts all over their feet. Unsanitary and unsafe water area and disgusting unsanitary hotel. Don't waste your time or money. No rules enforced and you'll get NO sleep. Very loud and unprofessional staff.

By LauraZeman |

We brought out after school group here for a fall break reward (improved grades and behavior). Check in was good. The rooms were a disappointment. Not clean. Very dusty. Carpet very worn, stained and not vacuumed along baseboards in a loonnnng time. Beds uncomfortable with thin mattresses. The sofa sleeper mattress was even worse. The sheets are think, worn and dingy. The second room of our two room suite had no closet or even hooks to hang clothes. Just a couple hooks would help. And the lady bugs had invaded. It's that time of year so not surprised. But at least vacuum up everyday. We had a chunk of 10-12 bugs in the corner of the room. The water park was decent. The life guards were attentive. The buffet breakfast was satisfactory. The boys had a great time. And that's what counts. Come back again? Not sure. Wish I could say yes with certainty.

This is a perfect trip for a cabin fever fix. We stayed at the resort and would highly recommend that. Came with water passes, and allowed early access and late hours for hotel guests only. The staff at the hotel and water park were great. Very clean establishment and would definitely go on a Thursday/Friday if you can to avoid a larger crowd which was ideal for our two year old. Can’t wait to go back :)

This place is kind of a dump. The kids had a good enough time but we limped away with scrapes on our feet due to poor concrete condition in the pools. Definitely DO NOT go with swim shoes.

Me and my honey are today!! We love it our room is clean the water was great!! So happy we came here!!

We had a few issues with check-in (kept getting locked out of our room), but everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. The waterpark was fun, but the chlorine smell definitely got to me after a few hours. Nothing major, just burning eyes. The kids had a blast, however, all my kids ended up with cuts on them from the non-slip floor. I would recommend water shoes because of this. The breakfast was great! Good selection of hot food. Overall, I would recommend.

Our room was overall good.. Kids had a blast at water park.. Chlorine smell a little strong.. Elevators had a wait and was kind of slow.. Will visit again

We spent one night in the hotel We hoped to have fun in the indoor waterpark. From outside it looked big but it is not, water was cloudy full of chlorine and it was kind of chilly inside. One kid start shivering soon, and other got skin allergy. We didn't have good experience at all. Rooms are big but very updated, breakfast was good to get something in our stomach, so we could hit the road driving home. Not recommended from us.

This by far was thee worst experience I’ve ever encountered. My family and I stayed there for the weekend, we got to our rooms to see that the rooms were not clean. Soap left in the shower, food in the fridge and on the floor, sheets pulled to the top as if it was a stay over. The only thing we were offered were tickets to the mini golf and laser tag.. We spent almost $900 for those rooms just to receive 2 dirty rooms.

By Janice14 |

We treated the family (grown kids and grandkids) to a weekend here. All ages had a fun time! It's a smaller water park, but there was plenty for everyone. I enjoyed my time in the adult only hot tub. When I was not there, I was entertaining the grandkids in the lazy river, smaller slides or the other pools that were available. They were too young for the big slides that the older ones enjoyed. The first night, the water did seem awful cold, but the next day, it felt much warmer. Towels are provided for hotel guests, but if you come on a day pass, you must provide your own towels. Fun was had by all ages!

Had a great visit at this indoor water park. I have only great things to say about the park itself. We went on a saturday and stayed over night. It was not crowded at all, but there were plenty of people there. Everyoned was very nice and helpful, especially for someone who had never been there before. My daughter enjoyed the entire stay. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is the food is not the greatest, but there are plenty of options as this place is located right in town. Our hotel room was right off the lobby and was very comfortable, but to be honest we did not spend a lot of time there. Great place for smaller kids up to early teenager as there are not a lot of "big" slides. This place would be a great winter get away to be sure. Great deal for the money. Our room and admission was one price(you can get them seperate if you like) so we were able to enjoy the water park from the time we got there at check in to close and the whole next day until the water park closed.

By Kristi Johnson |

We visited for one night, including booking a room. Our son wanted to go for his birthday. I honestly didn't know what to expect because the reviews were all over the place. Overall we had a pleasant experience and would probably take the kids again. It's a place that caters to a large mass of children, you should expect lots of noise and kids everywhere..it's kind of what they do. The BEST time to visit the water area is around 6pm to close at 9:30pm. If you'd like to enjoy it for the entire day, go early. Be there right at noon, grab your seat and never leave. Any later, you won't find a chair or table.

The room bracelets are pure genius!!! We didn't have to carry anything. It unlocks the doors and we were able to pay just using the bracelet.

Parking: Disappointed to see only 5 handicap spots. It's packed and holds a lot of people so unless you're early, plan to hike it a bit. Beware there is a steep winding hill to get up the place.

Check-In: We went right at 2pm and there was a line and crowd in the lobby but it moved quickly. The lady who checked us in was very kind and patient explaining everything to us, in spite of the long line. She was friendly with the kids and it made a great start to our trip.

Hotel Room: Average, nothing special here but did the trick. Our room was clean, however I did notice the corners in the bathroom could use cleaning. Carpet is dated. The beds surprisingly slept well. If you tend to be picky this might not be the place for you but served it's purpose and nothing really put us off. They're catering to large volumes of people and water coming in and out so I didn't expect much. You cannot rent movies here nor is there a DVD player or refrigerator. It was quiet in the hallways where we were at until morning so it probably just depends on your neighbors.

Water Park: At first glance it seems huge but it's really 4 slides, a kiddie slide, pool, adults only hot tub area (packed full of adults was kind of hysterical to see) and a lazy river. Kids LOVED IT though. Come early if you plan on having a seat, or just leave everything upstairs. The slides and lazy river are packed full but suited for the adults too. We went down for the second time after 6pm and it was empty, no wait for the slides and most everyone had cleared out for the night. Probably because the day passers and the others packed up and went home. The concession area right outside the pool sells a wide variety of junk that everyone loves but the staff wasn't the friendliest. They seemed annoyed anytime you placed an order.

Arcade: Small, took over money more than once, some were out of tickets, no one really works the area but it was nice to have for the kids to play a few games.

Boatyard Restaurant: We were nervous eating here because of some of the reviews but had dinner and really enjoyed it. It took a bit for the waitress to come over and take our drink orders, there was very few people in the place and we saw at least 6 people just standing around. After she showed up everything was fine. We'd definitely go back. The bacon cheeseburger is delicious!!! My group also had the spaghetti meatballs (nothing special here), the club sandwich was really good, chicken tenders and queso cheesesticks Yummi. Food flowed in the right amount of time. We really enjoyed it.

Breakfast buffet: Go right at 8:00am or risk standing in a line waiting to be seated at a table. Food wasn't very good and we got there first thing. Sausage patties, sausage links (better than the patties), ham, eggs, biscuits, gravy, toast, oatmeal, grits, cold cereal, milk and OJ. The pancakes and French toast sticks were AWFUL. We would probably go out for breakfast and pay for it rather than eat it there again.

Overall the kids had a blast, which is what we wanted and we'd probably do again. It was a good value for getting away for a night or two. Perfect for kids of all ages.

Staff was all under 20. Elevators. We’re the slowest I have seen. I took the stairs. Most of the time and I was on fifth floor. Water park very poor. I would not waste my money. If you are in area. Just go to Santa Claus. 250.00 a night. In and older hotel with poor water park. Got stuck in the tube rides. Because the lack of water flow. I would call this. Trailer park water park.

We booked a night for our daughter’s birthday. It was our first time here and most likely our last. Absolutely zero COVID safety measures. Most staff weren’t wearing masks, and those that were had them under their noses. There wasn’t limited capacity, either. People were everywhere. I was surprised they didn’t close the pool area down to only registered guests, to be honest. We didn’t see guests wearing masks in public, non-pool areas, either.

The rooms...gross. My husband jokingly said he’d rather sleep in the car. There was dust on quite a few surfaces. Our room had bunk beds and each of those beds had crumbs and dust along the sides of them. There was a couch in our room that looked like it had seen better days. There were few amenities inside the room - not that I think we’d probably feel comfortable using them. I was surprised to not see cups/glasses and no ice bucket (discovered an ice bag hanging up as we were leaving).

Overall, it was absolutely NOT worth the $350/night (including water park admission) for the five of us. Our kids had a blast, though. Now, excuse me while I go bathe in a gallon of bleach...

This was a great weekend getaway. Both my 3 year old and 14 year old loved the water park. The rooms were clean. It was a lot of fun for a third of the price of other indoor waterparks. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

By Cassie |

I visited the water park today for the first time with my family. We had all ages; 2 1 1/2 year olds, a 9 year old, two 13 year olds, two 17 year olds, and 5 adults. There was something for everyone to do. Everyone had a really great time, the water was clean and comfortable, and the air wasn't cold. The only complaint I had was that I felt that that the changing room and shower stalls were tiny, and there were no mirrors in some of the bathrooms. Otherwise, it was a great day!

We spent a long weekend in French Lick in early Feb. The first night we stayed at the resort and the 2nd night we stayed at Big Splash. It's like 2 totally different worlds. Big Splash was a "Big" hit with our 3 granddaughters. The oldest is 4 and her little sisters are 2. They had a great time. They loved the water park. While the chlorine smell was a bit strong and the twins turned a little blue from being cold, they had the time of their lives. We spent some time in the game room and they were entertained there for quite awhile. The adult men in our group had quite a time in the game room as well. We did eat one meal at the hotel and it was just ok. However, the young man that waited on us was outstanding. If it weren't for the kids, it's probably not somewhere we would go, but like all grandparents I know, we would do anything for our girls. The rooms were clean and even though we were very close to the entrance of the water park it wasn't very loud.

Awful. Had my kids birthday party here. Was terrible from start to finish. They didnt get anything right. First off my father in law is in a wheel chair. They was going to sit us upstairs. Took them forever to get us a handicap accessible room. Then we get there our pizza order is wrong. Then our kids name isnt spelt right. I wouldnt be so mad but i called 2 weeks before to make sure everything was right. Pizza order, name. I mean you pay over $300 for a party you expect what you order. At least get the kids name right. So i email them because all we got out of it was free dip n dots. And they have the nerve to say they gave us free pizza and they also tried to call me the day before to verify everything. Well if you called youd think they would leave a message. Its not my fault you got everything wrong. So i would save your money and just go to great wolfe lodge. Maybe they have better customer service.

The Big Splash Adventure Indoor Water Park Resort is amazing. Our family rode The Polar Express and then stayed the night at the water park. The bunk beds for the kids were awesome, and the adult bed was very comfortable. The next morning, the kids had a great time at the water park. The life guards were very attentive and helpful.

By Amanda17 |

This our third year in a row of riding the Polar Express and staying here. Each year our experience at the hotel is worse and this will be our last year. When we got to our room the toilet was clogged before any of us even used it. Then, there were lady bugs ALL over. We took them off the ceiling, the lamps, and even our pillows! When we called they said they would send someone up to vacuum. A very nice housekeeping lady came up but upon her leaving we saw at least 10 more around the window and back on the lights. Couldn’t even speak to anyone because the line at the check in desk was SO long.

My wife and I brought our grandchildren here for the weekend. It is a fantastic place for letting the kids just hangout.
The waterpark: It was clean and well maintained. There were plenty of lifeguards present. It is enclosed within glass with the ability to open and close the roof panels, as weather permits. It contains several tubes/waterslides as well as a lazy river and pools to swim in. If the kids are old enough you can set a base for them to check-in with every once in a while. The park is even fun enough for us older folks. There is a snack bar, (sort of pricey) as well as an arcade. Towels are provided for hotel guests to use while there.

The hotel: It is connected to the waterpark, restaurant, and snackbar. The rooms were clean and large enough for a family of 4-6 to sleep comfortably. The kids are provided with bunkbeds, which they thought was neat. The staff was attentive and we were pleased with our stay. We were lucky to find a special package rate the park was offering on line, so if you plan to go, check with their web site prior to booking.

By ZvilleMomof4 |

The room was clean but obviously in need of an update. The beds were as hard as a rock and all of us had a miserable night's sleep. Plus they supposedly have quiet hours from 10pm to 8am but no one enforced them. There was running and shouting up and down the hallway, doors banging and lots of loud noises until late in the night. We could hear our neighbors next door and the footsteps of people in the room above. Zero soundproofing. The water park was just fine but nothing spectacular. Ultimately it's 4 big slides, a lazy river and a kid's splash area. My kids liked it but were ready to leave after a few hours - so glad we didn't stay more then one night. Having been to these sorts of places before what really bothered me was the lack of lifeguards and of the few there they were completely zoned out. With so many little people running around I expected more vigilance. Other places have lifeguards everywhere patrolling every inch of the water and keeping people safe. I only counted three lifeguards for the whole place. Made me glad my kids are older and good swimmers. We won't go back and wouldn't recommend this place.

Went as a large family group for a treat for the kids before back to school. My room had a king size bed, two bunk beds and a pull out queen. Pull out was fine to sleep on and the room slept 4 adults and 2 kids with plenty of room. Water park was lots of fun just the right size that the kids could run around and we could watch them at multiple things at once. Plenty of things for all age groups (5 kids aged 1-14). I LOVED the adults only hot tub. Free breakfast buffet was fairly good. At dinner at the in house restaurant prices were comparable to that of Applebee's and about the same quality.

Couple things to complain about:
1. Smoking area is directly outside the main entrance so you are always walking through a cloud of nasty smoke if you have to go to the car.
2. The water park ran out of tubes about the middle of the afternoon so two of the slides and the lazy river were pretty much ready unusable during that time.

By Jodi L |

Very nice. Of my 3 kids only 2 met height requirements for the fun slides so the "almost tall enough" one and the parent with him kind of ran out of things to do by the end of 2 days. But the others had a blast and cried when we left!!

By Bobbie C |

Did not know you apparently need to buy tickets way in advance to get into the water park. We drove almost 4 hours and a huge disappointment!!

Our family of 8 visited Big Splash using two Groupons for 4. The Groupon included entrance, $15 tokens, and four drinks. When we arrived the check-in desk did not know how to handle the Groupon. They had to go get help. IT was a Saturday and the Park was very crowded. The place is large enough with enough activities that the people were able to spread out. The children had a great time especially in the pool area. They especially enjoyed the pool with water basketball. There were plenty of balls to go around. In this area was circular pool that had moving water. They enjoyed going around that circle. Also in this area was a Lilly Pad course which they tried over and over. The water slide lines were long, but they moved quickly. The lifeguards were very diligent.

We had a cheese pizza for lunch. I would call it average, but it was convenient. Overall the staff was courteous. Because they were so busy sometimes it seemed they were abrupt. The video arcade was average. There were a few games out of order. Our family had a good time and will return.

My husband and I took grandson and his parents this past weekend for an overnight stay. We all had a great time! I was a little leary because the reviews were not great. It was a bit pricey and crowded, but that was o be expected. We got the "Pirates Fortress" room, which gave us a separate sleeping room. The only complaint is that the Lazy River has rough concrete. My grandson and I both got foot cuts. As far as being perfect, keep in mind, it is for kids and kids can be a little messy. Do not miss going to "Wilstem Ranch" while there. It was so much fun! We did the drive through safari tour.

We are currently staying at Big Splash Adventure for the weekend. This is our second trip here. The hotel and water park is very nice except for the fitness center. The treadmill does not work. The elliptical is very loud and very hard to get moving and keep it moving. The only properly working piece of equipment was the bike and it was a bit awkward but it did work. These machines need to be thrown in the trash and new quality machines installed. Very disappointed in this amenity. I gave it a 4 out of 5 based on all other aspects of the resort.

By Kristenray |

This is our second trip to Big Splash Adventure. You must go and stay there. The rooms are adequate. The bobble queen bed rooms do not have mini refrigerators in them. The room was clean and in proper order. The water park is fun for kids of all ages and adults. There is an outdoor pool as well.

By Farmergirl3 |

Stayed here for the first time and we weren't too impressed. Water park was average, rooms were ok and breakfast was not great. Very crowded. Next time we will spend the same money and stay elsewhere in French lick.

By Mary A |

Small indoor water park but the kids loved it. I read about the chorline smell but not any worse than any other indoor pool. Didn't even notice it after while

By Jilly |

Hotel room was clean and spacious. Hotel was surprisingly quiet at night even though we were on same floor as water park. Water park was smaller than it looked online, but still plenty of things to do. It's geared more towards children under 12. The breakfast buffet at hotel came free with the room. They had a big selection of hot foods. Food was average. We had a pretty good trip, and will return.

By CorvetteKatie |

You get what you pay for. We've visited Great Wolf Lodge and Wilderness at the Smokies and they are worth paying a little more than what you'll pay to visit Big Splash. I think the biggest issue is that they let people pay to visit for the day so it's not just hotel guests, therefore it gets very crowded. They have limited space for seating. We ended up waiting until after dinner to go to the waterpark so the crowds would be gone. It was much more pleasant for the kids and for me to keep an eye on them. The game room area is small and probably thirty percent of the games were broken. Line for food and such was really long. It's just a very small attraction.

Check in was supposed to be at four pm but our room was not yet ready so we had to wait.

Rooms are like a basic hotel room, not themed and grand like other similar indoor water parks.

The free breakfast buffet was a nice perk, however it was like a school cafeteria quality of food.

I booked an all inclusive package that included four free tickets to the mini golf and laser tag. The kids had fun with that.

I picked coming here primarily because of the proximity, but also it was cheaper. I think it would have been worth the extra money and drive to go elsewhere. But that's just my personal opinion. If you're on a tight budget this might be a good option.

By T R |

We have been taking our kids here for many years. This is a great place with a great price. We can go here three to four times a year for the same price as one visit to some of the other ones. This is a blast for the whole family. We really enjoy this indoor water park.

By jkennedy2017 |

My 11 year old loved this place. It is pretty expensive though. I bought 2 day passes, lunch, and and $10 bucks for the arcade and spent almost $100 for a free hours of fun. It's a good deal of you have a large family it's a great deal too get a Groupon and stay at the hotel.

By PanderTraveler |

This is not my kind of place and I would not return. However, my kids did enjoy this place. For me, being an adult I felt that this place was too crowded for the size. Also, I do not advise ordering food here. It took a very long time to get it.

By erinf450 |

Hotel was noisy but we went the Saturday after Christmas. I booked the wrong night and they switched our night for only an extra $16 which was nice. My only complaints would be the breakfast was horrible and the bathroom at the water park. It was difficult to change with no place to sit or set your clothes. There were wall hooks for bags thankfully. The showers if you can find a hot one we’re horrible as the water trickled out of them. We had a little over a three hour drive home and needed to shower so I ended up using a cup to wash my daughters hair and my own. The water temperature also changed every 15 seconds or so. Room was clean and arcade was fun. We did enjoy our stay. First aid station was also a plus as my son skinned his knee and needed the blood cleaned up and a badge.

By brenfro584 |

This place was cheaper then a typical day at a theme park and if we would have bought a special price would could have got a room too. But regardless it was a nice water park with slides , a lazy river, and a game room.My son not only enjoyed the lazy river but went on the slides over and over by himself. We got there in the afternoon and luckily it didn't get crowed till later so we found chairs to put our stuff . just a hint is to go earlier is better, and you will wait a little for concessions and the bathrooms.

By Pam W |

We arrived early and our room was ready which was nice.

The only complaint I have is the noise level in the rooms. I had to call the front desk due to being able to hear the tv from the next room and what sounded like kids beating on the wall, this was 10:30 at night and continued for about an hour after I called the front desk. The front desk said "they have 4 kids in the room so that may be the problem". I also had 4 kids in our room but made sure they were quiet as to not disturb others. Also the doors on all the rooms slam. If you don't catch them and close them slower/softer they make a loud noise which can be disturbing. Our second night we had a large group of people that occupied 3 rooms near us and the slamming of doors as they went from room to room was very annoying.

The breakfast buffet was nice although lacking bacon and maybe some healthy choices like yogurt and bagels.

By Jessica T |

Dirty, chlorine level so high your eyes are on fire. Lifeguards do not watch safety of children just walk around. Hairballs laying around everywhere. Don't waste your money go somewhere else you will be disappointed.

By Lori U |

If you're not staying in the hotel, make sure you absolutely buy day passes in advance. Otherwise, you may load up your family including two toddlers and drive an hour and half to get there with very excited kids to be told, "Sorry, we're sold out of day passes." I hope everyone else can avoid this. I'm so bitter, I'll probably never be back.

By mlzbjg |

We visited over Fourth of July. Our 12/13 kids enjoyed themselves and kept entertained. I don't think it would have kept them entertained for more than a couple days though.
Room appeared clean and staff was friendly. Tip water park is best visited early in morning late at night. Mid days are crazy busy.

By tammysD0AU |

This water park is in a small town. We stumbled upon it and loved it. I took two 7 year olds and a 2 year old. After two full days of play, the kids were still having a blast. There is a section for infants and a larger section with moderately sized slides. There are also very large slides for older kids. There is a lazy river, a whirlpool "vortex" area, several places to just swim or play water basketball. There's a large splash park area. You can buy a pizza that is huge for about 16$. It is well staffed with life guards who actually do their job and enforce safety. Ive read reviews of too much clorine and that was not an issue for my stay at all. They have a decent restaurant where we ate a nice breakfast. There are several food places close by (papa johns, McDs) if you wanted to leave for food. The room itself is nothing special. Basic but clean. Kids under 3 are free. A day pass is cheap. The room, water passes and breakfast was fairly cheap as well.
Negatives- linen was thinner (still comfortable) and my room did not have a refrigerator.

By mrnelson2 |

Visited Columbus Day weekend with my wife and 2 sons, ages 5 and 9. Although it was very busy, all the water park attractions were readily available. Never had to wait more than 3 or 4 minutes tho get on a slide. My boys loved it. Only minor drawback was breakfast....line was usually very long, but we were expecting this beforehand. Overall, we were very satisfied....nice staff, decent facilities...French Lick/West Baden is a beautiful part of Indiana.

Two moms with two kids over spring break. This is a great place to let the kids get some energy out. So much so that both our kids crashed for bed! The price seems expensive until you figure in that it includes breakfast, hotel and park passes, so it's worth it. The facility was clean. Water and air are warm. I was a little disappointed with the lifeguard slide attendants, they never smiled! The restraurant was hit or miss for lunch and dinner. But the breakfast buffet offered something for everyone's taste.

My 7 yr old daughter decided she wanted to go to an indoor water park, instead of having a birthday party this year. We booked the room for 1 night and we checked in just after noon. Our room was ready which was a nice surprise since the normal check in is at 4pm. We went straight to the water park. My daughter was disappointed that she had to use a tube in the lazy river, she likes to "mermaid" all over. But she used it and still had fun. She enjoyed the slides too. We stayed at the water park a few hours then went & dried off to have dinner and play games in the arcade.

The negatives I would say is that we all had chlorine burns after. I had to stop what I was doing 3 times because my eyes were burning so badly. The other thing is that there were windows open making it very cold in the waterpark. Thankfully the water is warm. Our teenagers were bored pretty quickly and the lazy river wasn't so lazy. Kids were rude & pushy. It got completely blocked by the entrance to the river, with so many people going in and out.

By tilney7 |

We played in the water park only for a couple of hours (using the day pass). The water park itself was pretty fun...not large or amazing, but for our 5-year-old, it was a good time. The arcade seems a little run down, but not terrible. The lifeguards seemed to be attentive for the most part.

My only real complaint was the changing room situation. They had a few small changing areas in the arcade that were a little bigger than bathroom stalls, with a bench. No bathrooms or showers in this area, so we opted to change in the changing rooms inside the water park. This changing room had bathroom stalls and then a few showers, but the showers were in tiny toilet-sized stalls. With how the shower head was positioned, it was really difficult to shower in there and get changed comfortably, without your clothing getting wet. No benches or chairs or anywhere to put your things either. There were a couple of changing stalls across from the showers, but these did not have chairs or benches either. The whole changing area also did not have any mirrors, which I thought was odd.

I know this is somewhat minor but I wanted to note it in case people were planning on doing a day pass and changing clothes/showering after swimming, like we did.

I’ve had a couple of people HIGHLY recommend this indoor water park for winter fun and they mentioned that it was a great trip to make with toddlers and young children. We took our 2.5 year old and 4 year old and it was absolutely crazy in the water park. It was Valentine’s Day weekend so I honestly expected to see less people there. It was packed, I only saw 2 life guards the whole time we were inside (2 hours) and only one of them was enforcing rules. They play music in the water park room so you can only hear the person next to you if they are yelling. I think maybe this would be enjoyable if it wasn’t as busy but we apparently chose a busy weekend.

**I truly feel like they could improve this experience by putting a cap on the number of waterpark passes they sell for each day. It was fairly clean and we didn’t have a long wait to get registered and get into the waterpark.

By Lasher69 |

Have visited big splash many times but the last visit is the last. The water was very dirty, the sides of the lazy river were very dirty, funky smell and there were a lot of gnats and flies. Was very disappointed as this used to be a great place to spend the day with the kids.

By crossfamily0426 |

We stayed here will we were visiting the Polar Express. The hotel was nice. Our room was fine however I do not think our air conditioner was working properly. The unit was registering at 74 degrees and we could not get the air to cycle the temperature down. We took the evening polar express so returned to our room somewhat late and chose to open the window rather than call for repairs. I did alert the desk upon checkout. The morning breakfast was much better than a typical hotel free breakfast. Onto the main attraction...the waterpark. I was happy with the overall experience of the waterpark. We have a 13 and 3 year old. I felt they were both satisfied and occupied. My biggest complaint of our stay however is the amount of staffing in the water park itself. We have visited other water parks and I felt much safer than I did at Big Splash. Furthermore the big slides are manned by 1 life guard. That means that all 4 slides are managed by 1 employee. I view this as a liability for the hotel. There was an incident where a tube was stuck in the toilet bowl and the lifeguard had to leave her post and head down the slide to unlodge the guests. That left the entire platform without supervision until the lifeguard could take care of her duties and weave her way through the line up the stairs to reclaim her post. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here. I just think they need to improve their staffing ratios for safety and the experience of the guests

We arrived three hours before check in but still were able to get a great room. Our room was only a few steps away from the adjoining indoor water park. The kids loved it. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and included a microwave and refrigerator. The deal included the room, water park admission, laser tag and arcade. A full breakfast was included also. It is not low budget but was reasonable for what we got. We will definitely be returning.

By Kendall S |

It was fun and clean, but I didn't get to stay there for the night. The food was good and the arcade games worked. Hope to come back soon!!!

By Lilyearth |

We spent the day here on the 30th. We bought day passes online a few days prior. Very easy process. We arrived at 9:30 am. Day pass check-in was a breeze. We rented a locker and loved the keyless entry wristbands! We had lunch at the restaurant downstairs. Food was excellent and you get a lot of food for the money. My husband had a BBQ Bacon cheeseburger and says it its one of the best he has ever had! We had a great time!

By Carla S |

Fun for preteen kids with the different pools. As a parent or grandparent, it’s a great place to interact with your children. The older folks will like the large hot tub and the teens will like the water slides. There are lockers and changing rooms available. The food is pricey, so many folks eat elsewhere. Good entertainment for at least 3 hours

By SeeMitchellPage |

As long as your expectations are not too high, this place can be pretty fun.

My daughter and I came for the weekend. I quickly realized that the waterslides go from very, very basic to somewhat exciting, which means that there’s not much “in the middle” for my daughter.

All in all, the value isn’t bad. For less than $200, we got lodging, two days of waterpark passes, $12 in arcade tokens, and a basic buffet style breakfast. The waterpark and lodging were clean. The lifeguards were attentive.

Not bad – but certainly not great. Good for a night or two, especially winter when waterparks are not an expected option.

By superwheatie |

My family visited the property this week. The water park is small, crowded, and dirty. The chlorine odor irritated my families eyes and throats. The rooms could use updating. The restaurant had terrible service and was over priced. The other guests must have felt as ripped off as I did because many of them were rude. You better have entertainment planned outside the resort because 2-3 hours and your kids will be bored stiff! It is a small town with few restaurants or activities. We went to the pumpkin patch $8 person, that they advertise for in the lobby and on their website. I could have taken the money to wal mart and made something better than they had for my kids at home! Zip line was 20 feet of cord between two trees at the same level. Slide was plastic on the ground with some pool floats! They want 2$ to slide down a plastic tarp on a hill??? I would strongly recommend that you spend the extra time and money and visit Great Wold Lodge in Mason OH! Much better value.

By Jenell |

I had taken my grandkids there for a day trip while they were on spring break from school (ages 8,9,13,14). We all had a great time. Temperature of the water as well as the room was perfect. The life guards on duty were excellent, they really watched the kids and was a aware of everything going on around them. The concession area was a little understaffed but all was a good day!

Me, my Fiancé and our 2 year old son went to Splash island in February. We bought a 2 day pass one night stay at the hotel for a great price via Groupon, and it was worth every penny. The hotel is very nice and the room was very comfortable. No problems with the mattresses, blankets, ac/heat, nothing to complain about. The water park was fun. My son got to enjoy some of the bigger equipment even though kids far larger then him were running and splashing about. There's an infant pool for the small ones and there's a lazy river for the whole gang! The water temps varied. The lazy river was quite warm and the actually swimming area with the basketball Hoops was quit cold but nice. I got to enjoy the water slides as well, me being a bigger person was worried about them hurting me or getting stuck. Again nothing to complain about at all. If your taking up the breakfast buffet, I'd arrive as soon as possible as it got crowded fast and there was a wait. The food was okay. It was included with our deal so I wasn't complaining. Its definitely a great get away for those winter days. I would like to return!!!

By Michelle_Rowe2 |

This place was perfect for people with kids. The rooms were clean, the waterpark is very well taken care of. The restaurant Boatyard had excellent servers and fantastic food. The hot tub was a major plus for the adults. You can even relax with adult beverages if that's your thing.

By Angie H |

Great place for families with young kids & the hotel room was clean & comfortable. We stayed two nights here & our 11 year old son enjoyed it, however it does need something for older kids/adults to do. The deepest pool is only 4 ft & the line for the big slides was EXTREMELY slow during the day (Not as bad at night when it's less crowded). Overall, for the price, its a pretty good value for a quick getaway :)

By Jennifer B |

The price you pay you think the place is going to be great it was not. The games in the game room are all broken the place is dirty and falling apart. I suggest they shut down and take a little bit to clean and remodel because it is so bad! Do not waste your money go somewhere else.

By Tootsmommy11 |

We go about 2x a year and we love it. Going tomorrow as well. The only things I would prob change is the breakfast the selection is amazing but the taste of food is not very appetizing over the course of 4 years. Also the teenage staff is rude and last year we witnessed fights between the teenage staff. Their attitudes are disrespectful to others and to children. All of the rest of the staff is pretty amazing. I feel the rooms are always clean and worth the money. I would definitely recommend it overall for a fun family getaway! I’m hoping this weekend will be just as exciting as all of the other times we have gone! Thanks Big Splash see you soon!

By cardirish |

The indoor water park was a refreshing place to visit for our grandkids after Christmas. The motel accommodations were great. Joy, at the front desk was very helpful. The breakfast can be a little bit of a zoo, but it is provided within the context of the stay. It is nice to be able to use the water park on the day of your stay and the entire next day as well.

By Mark M |

They have very friendly staff, great slides, and clean rooms. This is a great value. Our kids are 18 mo., 3, 4.5, and 10.5 and they all had a great time. Older kids will enjoy the big water slides. I'm impressed.

By LadyZ027 |

I have so many mixed feelings about our stay. Overall it was a good trip. My kids had fun (ages 13, 7, and 6), which was most important. First of all French Lick Indiana is a small town. I was looking for the main strip with restaurants, malls, etc. and did not realize I would not find it there. Also we were the only African American family there, and I felt weird at first, not knowing if people of other races even visited Big Splash. My kids had fun at the laser tag on the property, which was an added plus. The waterpark itself is much smaller than Great Wolf. It has 3 slides, the lazy river, and a 4 foot pool with basketball goals on one end for older kids. There is no wave pool or water coasters like Great Wolf and it just isn't as upscale by any means. There was also an area for younger kids that had swings in the water for babies and their little feet would get wet. My kids had fun.

The food was pretty good. We ate in the snack area in front of the pool for lunch and also dinner. The pizza was pretty good. We also ordered hamburgers/chicken sandwiches and nobody complained. The arcade is in the same area as the tables to eat and it is small. It served its purpose for the kids, but just feels like second rate fun so to speak. I wish I knew their names, but the guys working the concession stand and the ticket booth were super friendly and made our experience just a little better. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Beds slept well. The breakfast in the AM was very good with lots of hot food options. We were impressed. But get there early. Don't wait until 9:30.

The bad: the reviews on trip advisor about the chlorine being strong.....it is true. It wasn't so bad that my children got sick. But you could smell it in the air and one of my kids complained about his eyes burning. My eyes were burning as well. Also a few people in my family were hurt on the slides due to the lifeguard that was pushing the floats down the slide. He was actually KICKING some people's floats down the slide. My husband's float turned over and he went down the slide w/o it due to how the attended started the ride. My 6 year old also bumped his mouth and I was told several times AFTER THE FACT that they told him they weren't ready and he pushed them down the slide anyway. Another lifeguard noticed my son crying and came to ask what happened. He radioed in and told me to go report what was taking place. They didn't seem to care. They offered him ice, but that was it. Before we left, we did see one other African American family enjoying the resort. By the time we left, it didn't matter. We felt comfortable and had a good time.

I would definitely not be back. I would drive the extra hour to Great Wolf Ohio. We have been to Great Wolf twice and hardly revisit the same places.

Your kids are really going to love this place. It has a water adventure for everyone, lazy river, tubes, funnel, kids splash area and everything in between. Here are a few tips to help with your visit. 1) We went on a Monday morning - no crowds and they had a package deal. A visit during one of their slow times is well worth it. Only four families in the entire park. 2) Lockers are expensive - $10 - so leave your valuables in the car and just take what you need. 3) As a parent and former beach lifeguard, the lifeguards attentiveness to the pool is important to me. One was active and helpful, one was half asleep with head nods and the other was surfing and texting on her phone while in the guard stand. You should always watch your kids but don't ever feel like this team will save the day - on my day it looked liked 1 to 3 odds. You'll enjoy your visit, have fun, leave the valuables and keep an eye on your kids.

By 2cajun |

the hotel stay was horrible and not helpful. The place was so overbooked that we couldn't get into the pool and move. The arcade was a dirty nightmare. The line for the "free" breakfast wrapped like a deadly python around the lobby. No offers of any sort of refund for the trouble. Yuck

We went this past weekend to celebrate our daughters 9th birthday and we felt like this place needed a great review. We arrived about 2pm on Saturday and our room was ready when we arrived. Remember, check in isn't until 3pm, so we were concerned about that, but we didn't have any problems getting in early. Our room had two queen beds. It was clean, large enough for a family of four and it had all of the necessities. The water park is fantastic. Our kids are 8 & 9 and they never got bored. They had just enough to do, the lines were kind of long, but well worth the wait. They have 4 slides and both kids enjoyed them all. The "toilet bowl" as we called it, was the best. The life guard on Saturday night made it extremely fun and we couldn't wait to go again. The water park is clean, warm and fun. It was just the right size, so if our kids wanted to do something else, we didn't feel nervous about them running off and playing. They always had plenty of towels and plenty of life guards. We did play in the arcade that is onsite too, it was a rip off, but the kids still had fun. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on it. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was very good and reasonably priced. We all left full and we even had left overs. It was a nice snack that evening. Our room didn't have a microwave but they had one on our floor, so that was just fine with us. When we arrived, they said we had a breakfast buffet also included, that was added bonus. I had no idea. It was good and everyone had lots of choices. Overall, I'd highly recommend. Yes, it seems expensive but once you factor in the cost of the water park, your room and breakfast, I think it's very reasonable for a family of four to have fun at a great price. Thank you for making our time a blast!

Visited in Marh 2018. First off, all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The place was very clean. It's not real big like an outdoor park, but that was ok because we are seniors and didn't have to walk for for the attractions. There are 4 main slides, 2 body and 2 tube. The slides may not be thrilling enough for teens but are good for children and seniors like myself. The lazy river had a nice current that kept you moving nicely. I'd say it is geared towards families. Did not stay in the hotel or eat at the snack shop so I can't comment. But I would go back there again.

We enjoyed our stay with our 6 & 8 year old grandson's. There is only one way in and out so of the water park area so watching your children is a bit easier. The 8 year old was able to take advantage of all slides and this park has a smaller crowd so you slide more wait less. The life guards on duty make sure the rules are followed. No jumping and you must have a tube to float. Most kids were under 12 so still polite enough to listen. The King bed was comfortable and they had a really good breakfast with many choices. Our Grandson's loved it.

Taken my daughter and her friends there. Be aware of the high chlorine smell inside the water park. After an hour of being there, our eyes were burning, coughing our heads off, and stopped up noses. The ammonium level was just so highly toxic. All kids, including my daughter developed a coughed.

We had a group of 20 that decided to stay here for our family Christmas. It was nice for the younger children. The two older kids we had were bored after a few hours, but overall it was a clean, nice facility. They provided a breakfast buffet with eggs, potatoes, pancakes, etc.. it was pretty good. Would go back again, but would only stay for one day instead of two with older kids.

So where do i start from me getting sick from the amount of clorine, to the beds with no sheets, to the very rude employees, to the building losing a 3rd of its power due to lack of maintenance and my handicapped mom getting stuck on the 2nd floor because the elevator was stuck with a lady inside. The breakfast was cold and nasty, one of our rooms had no power for several hours. This was literally a nightmare this place is unsafe and needs shutdown for major repairs or somebody is going to get hurt there. We will never return!

We spent two days of our Christmas vacation here and it ended up ruining our entire time off. We took our two children and actually had to force them to go back to the room several times due to the high chlorine content in the water and air. Everyone was coughing, there were children vomiting, red eyes everywhere. The lines for the larger rides were endless. We didn't even attempt to wait in them. You could not get a tube for the lazy river, not that you could even get through the river it was so crowded. There were kids that were too big on the kiddie rides. An older teenager sprayed my two year old directly in the face with a water gun attached to slide and knocked him down, skinning his knees. No lifeguards or parents around to fix the problem. My child then wanted nothing to do with that attraction. which was the only age appropriate thing for him to do. The arcade was filthy, half of the games did not work. The concession line was entirely too long with only high school kids working (who were all as helpful as they could possibly be). Our beds were hard with no blankets. There were no luggage carts to be found requiring multiple trips to the car. The hallways were loud all night and all morning long. The second day of our stay the water park was so crowded from day passes that there were no chairs, endless lines, no towels, and people everywhere. I did hear that they began turning people away around 10am that morning. The worse part however has been the illness that started on our stay and has not left our family yet. Our 4 year old began vomiting in the middle of the night while there from the chlorine content, as I suspect from breathing it and most likely swallowing water some as little kids do. As an adult, I coughed for over a day and vomited for nearly two days straight. I highly suspect we all might have had a touch of chlorine poisoning. I have since heard, third hand from a employee, that there was something wrong with the ventilation system and the water park should have actually been closed to the public. If it is true, it is sad that they would risk everyone's health like that without at least giving people the option of a refund. We live close by and will not be returning.

Stayed at Big Splash on 12/11.

Staff: Very Accommodating.

During the time of check-in the hotel was extremely busy with guest, many taking part in the Polar Express Trail Ride. The attendants working were very professional and attentive working with all the guest.

Cleanliness: Stayed in a room 1519 (bunk beds with a king size bed). Room was very clean, and work great for my family of 5 (3 kids: ages 10, 6, and 3).

Food: Ate 16" pizza from the local concession area. Price was very affordable, and the taste was okay (meet my expectations from a concession area pizza place). We also took advantage of the complimentary breakfast, again the food meet expectations. I was impressed with the amount of options for the breakfast buffet.

Waterpark: It was a really nice water park, if Great Wolf Lodge is a 5 Star indoor water park. This place is probably about a 3.5 Star. It was clean, with multiple places for the kids to play. Only complaint is the chlorine level seemed high in one of the pools (but wasn't bad enough to not go in)

When the West Baden hotel and French Lick Resort were completely booked, we stayed at this hotel so we could visit the local attractions. The front desk staff were very helpful and our room was clean upon arrival. Although it was a bit noisy around 10:30pm, it soon settled down and all was quiet during the night. The hotel has a Family Friendly Quiet Time from 10pm-8am. On Sat morning we woke up and went down to the complimentary buffet breakfast available at 7am. This was a full experience and the food was delicious. The buffet had many hot options like eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and waffles. There was also cereal, fruit, etc. When you arrive in the restaurant, they seat you and a waitress brings you your choice of drinks and proceeds to clear away your dishes and bring you refills. We hadn't realized there would be a waitress, but thankfully we had some cash to leave a tip.
Our only complaint was that the room did not have a refrigerator. There is an opening in the cabinet where one should have gone, but it is empty. The TV had very fuzzy signal, so when we watched tv in the evening and in the morning, the signal had static that consistently ran across the image. But overall, a very nice option and much more affordable than the other hotels we had looked at.

The place is ok, rooms are nothing to write home about, biggest issue is they try and pack you in there and are not prepared for it. There were no towels available and in general the place did not seem clean.

Big Splash Adventure Indoor Waterpark & Resort was an excellent getaway. My husband and I took our two granddaughters, ages 4 and 7. We stayed in a room that had a King bed and two bunk beds. The size of the room is good. The sink and vanity is separate from the shower/tub and toilet. The room also had a mini fridge and microwave. You are able to use the Waterpark starting at noon on the day you check in and can use it until closing on the day you check out. We also had 4 tickets to use for laser tag or miniature golf. Our girls had so much fun at the Waterpark that we didn't end up going to the sister resort for the miniature golf. The water park had a very shallow area (8 inches) for young children. This area had a slide and baby swings. It also has an area with two small water slides in a kids fun area. Five larger water slides were also available. The seven year old loved the water slides. There is also a pool that is 3-4 feet deep with basket ball hoops and climbing ropes. The lazy river was also a hit. The water temperature was warm as was the air. This was great since it was mid February. Breakfast is also included with your stay and consisted of ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, egg casserole, biscuits & gravy, french toast bread sticks, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereals, juice, milk and coffee. We ate at The Boatyard for dinner and at the restaurant just outside of the water park. Both places were reasonably priced.

You and your children or grandchildren will love this place! It is full of fun and excitement at all times! A wonderful waterpark for all ages! The water is nice and clean and warm to swim in. You must visit here

Lots of great slides and water activities but Water is cold. Both my children shivered. My husband can take the cold better than myself and he too agreed too cold. Disappointed.

We got discount tickets through a school fundraiser so we decided to go for my son's 3rd birthday. My 7 year old daughter absolutely loved going on all of the big water slides and my son enjoyed playing in the playhouse and going down the smaller slides with me. The lazy river was also very nice for me and my husband to relax in. My only complaint is that there was too much chlorine in the water and it really burned our eyes. We will definitely be buying more fundraiser tickets (only $10 a piece) from my daughter's school to go again next year but I hope they adjust the chlorine levels.

We recently stayed one night with a Groupon deal. It was worth the money. The rooms were comfortable, we opted to pay a little extra to upgrade to a King sofa bed room with a mini-fridge and microwave. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The waterpark was great for our 2 and 4 year old. There was lots to do for most age groups, I look forward to going back and to when the kids can ride the bigger slides. It was very reassuring of all the life guards that were on duty and watching everyone. We enjoyed our time in the water park. The breakfast was excellent, good food and plenty choices.

The only thing that we didn't like was in the room. There was no channel list for the tv, so it was hard to find a kids channel to watch and there was no guest services book that lists the hotel amenities and local restaurants nearby.

It would be excellent if they would open a pizza shop with all the families staying there for room service!

We purchased the water park, Holiday World, resort package to take our Grandkids for a short get away. The ages of the kids are 2,3,7,and 9. The water park was small enough to keep track of the kids but big enough for kids of all ages can have a great time. The life guards are attentive and friendly. The attendants in the little arcade were very generous, giving the kids free tickets to get their prizes.
The resort was dated but very clean. Everyone was friendly, and we were able to check into our rooms early.
My only complaint is the breakfast buffet. The food was cold, and over microwaved. I would have preferred regular hotel free breakfast to the one served. But visit the restaurants in French Lick. There are excellent eateries to choose from

By Dreddie88 |

The waterslides are pretty good. The speed and darkness made them exciting and the water temperature was comfortable. The lazy river had a good pace and around 5 areas where you may get sprayed or buckets dumped on you. If it is a busy day, it could be a while to take a slide, since there are only 4 on sight.

We planned this trip as a surprise for our twins birthday. We’ve been before without too many issues, but with Covid we had concerns. My husband called and spoke with a manager about what they’re doing to keep patrons safe. The manager said they were NOT at full capacity and it was less crowded and they’d been cleaning more and requiring masks.
HA! We got there and there were hardly parking spaces left and out of all of our previous trips. This one had the most people I’ve ever seen. At check in the lady said she didn’t know who my husband had spoken with but they had been at full capacity for MONTHS. If we had known we would’ve never gone. If we’d been able to get a refund we would’ve but we’d spent $400 just to most likely be exposed to Covid. (Especially since so many families refused to wear masks and were actually fighting with employees about having to wear them. I will give the employees that- they did keep asking people to put masks on.)
The fact we were misinformed deliberately, because we asked specifically about being at less capacity, was very disheartening.
It was also unfortunately very dirty in our room and bathrooms and arcade had trash on floors. Our telephone didn’t work in the room so I kept having to call front desk from our phone if we needed anything like towels or ordering from restaurant.
But I wish we’d not been deceived about being at less capacity. If day passes were limited to people staying at hotel it might be better. Safer. Very disappointed this trip. We are truly debating on if we’ll come back which is a shame as this was our 4th stay.

Greeted by a long dark hair on the bed. Rooms are very dated not anything like the pictures. Spotty wifi and the mini fridg. comes out of the compartment when you try to open it. I have seen better arcades in a bowling alley. You have to fight the public for parking spots and pool space, they get the same advantages ,except you have paid to stay there! Guess it's a money thing but to Me this is NOT a Resort don't be fooled. It is an Old Hotel that they have shoved as much stuff into it they can to make money. Again. just my opinion. This place is OK if your kids are young I guess. Not made for kids over the age of 12. My 14 year old son and his friend wanted to leave 2 hours after we got there, I didn't get a group on (smart thing to do) and paid 250.00 for the night so I make them suck it up. We spent most the time driving around town trying to find something to do They did try the water slides but complained about getting pinched by the grooves in the slide Best part of our stay..Check out!

The water park at Big Splash is very nice. The water slides are very fun to go on over and over again. The lazy river is a great place for parents to relax, and the large "playground" area is an awesome place for kids to play. Overall, Big Splash is a great place to spend a weekend!

We took my daughter and a friend. They loved it. It was fine. All in all a fun trip. I'm a lie bit (a lot really) of a germ-o-phobe. I personally killed 1 ant, 1 spider and 1 mystery bug in our room. That was enough to gross me out some what. No one else noticed so that was good. The breakfast was pretty horrible. See my pic. No bacon and the biscuits edges were too hard to cut or eat. The lifeguards were so great! I'm not going back but the kids would love to and that's what matters.

Visited over Labor Day weekend with three teen boys (13, 15 and 15). This facility is really quite nice for the money. We had the Pirate's Hideaway room on the 5th floor (1501). The room was spotless and very quiet. Water pressure in bathroom is great and water temperature was consistent. Bunk beds were very comfy and the king size bed was fine. The boys really liked having their own little "room" and the extra TV was nice. We stayed into our check-out day and used the changing rooms at the end. They are completely private but at times busy. However, the shower stalls in the restrooms have doors and are completely fine for changing. All of staff we encountered were very polite and professional, including the ones we contacted by telephone. TV service was above average but it is satellite so we had a few interruptions due to the weather. The Internet is AWFUL but we really didn't come for the Internet, although it would have been nice. It mattered not what part of the building, the service was dial-up speed at best. Water park was very nice and spotless. We had to wait a few minutes ONE time for towels, but they were normally stocked and ready. Finding a chair was easy and the lifeguards were safety conscious but not overbearing. When they did correct a child, they did so in a very friendly manner (often with a thumbs up at the end). Breakfast was well stocked and not bad at all for a free breakfast. The pancakes were an added extra, as were the fountain drinks and orange juice in a real cup instead of a thimble. The only real gripe i would have about this property is their lack of monitoring of their "guestrelations" email. I did not receive a confirmation after booking, so I emailed this address listed on the site, but no response (even as of this posting). I ended up calling and received prompt and police service. However, I also emailed it again during our stay just to test. No response. They should either remove this avenue of contact from the site or monitor and respond. Otherwise, this property is well worth the stay. The laser tag was also well worth the few bucks it costs. Polite staff and a pretty decent facility. They had a good time there on the way out.

We came to Big Splash 2 days after Christmaswith our extended family for a 3 day stay and some family fun. Check in was very busy but seemed efficient. Our rooms were clean and there was a microwave and refrigerator in each room.

There are only two elevators that seem to run slow and there is always a wait so we took the flights of stairs on numerous occasions (not a big deal for us but could be for others). We have children ages 4-17 but immediately noticed that the water park was more for the younger kids and our teenagers quickly became bored.
The water park was so packed that the lazy river was jammed full of people and tubes and you felt as if you were being shoved and rushed through it by the hoards of kids and adults that were trying to have fun. Many times, we were unable to find chairs so that the adults could relax and watch the children play. This was a real issue for Grandma who wanted to watch the children have fun but couldn’t.
Overall, I would say our stay was average and our kiddos had fun but probably wouldn’t make the nearly 3 hour trip to stay there again.

Nice clean room and water park. The slides and lazy river was great and the water was a great temperature. No complaints. The room was nice. we stayed on the same floor as the water park.

There isn't anything NOT to like about this resort. Our children and grandchildren have a blast and want to come back as often as possible. The town of French Lick is beautiful and quiet. Come and see for yourself. You will want to come back again.

By Liz O |

We were really worried with the lack of any COVID precautions at this water park. No one takes temps or asks you any questions upon entry, super crowded with no guest limitations even during a weekday this place was packed. If we knew it was going to be like this, we would have never exposed ourselves to this environment. No one had masks inside and everyone was very close to each other. Water had a lot of chemicals and made my skin itchy. I only saw one life guard on duty and one employee helping with tubes the whole day we were there. No cleaning was taken place during the day so it got pretty bad by end of day. All that being said it was our sons first time at a water park and he really had fun! He was unsure for a while because of the new environment and loudness level but warmed up after a couple of hours. We left and came back after lunch and nap.

By Dacelyn |

We went for the day for my sisters birthday and we had a pretty good time. The slides and lazy river was great and the water was a great temperature. Although, there are some mishaps. The lifeguards need to be more responsible, my sister got smacked in the face by some kids as she came down the slide (on purpose) and the lifeguard saw and didn't do anything. The food was kinda pricy and the arcade was great.

By Nick W |

We came here on a Thursday during our fall break. We arrived about 11 AM and entered quickly since we had bought our tickets online. It wasn’t too crowded and we had a great time, spending about 2.5 - 3 hours playing in the water park. It was reasonably priced at $25 per person.

Took the kids for Spring Break. Got into water park early and it was a blast! Two hours later you couldn't move there were so many people. My youngest collided with another so our day ended! I would agree with other reviewer! Accident waiting to happen!!

We took four families to Big Splash for the weekend. We were looking for an indoor water park. This was centrally located for multiple groups. Reviews looked OK, so we went for it. Overall, it was a good experience and worth your time. Here are the basics:

- Food was excellent. Way better than you would imagine. We ate dinner in the hotel the first night and everyone was very happy with what they received. So much so we ate their the next night because it was so easy to eat in the hotel and it was so good. Price was fair but not inexpensive. The complimentary breakfast was more than we expected. A lot of options and the food was very good. I was expecting a bare-bones continental breakfast but it was more than that. Crowds got bad the later it got though, so plan ahead. 8 AM you sit right down. 9:30 AM you wait for 15-20 minutes at least. They also have a bar and bar-type food you can get downstairs or as room service. Price was really good and everything we saw was very good bar food (pretzels, nachos, pizza, etc.).

- The water park was good. Not unreal but good. Even when it was max crowded (spring break time on a Saturday at 1 PM) you could move around, find a chair to put your things, and get through the slides with a fair wait in line. The little kids area was very fun for our under 4 kids. The bigger kids and adults loved the 4 slides. The lazy river was good too.

- The hotel itself was clean and the staff was friendly. The family rooms we got had a king-sized bed and a set of bunk beds as well. We were OK with a family of 5 in one room.

- We took a trip down the hill to the mini golf, trampoline, and rock wall area. The kids loved it. The rock wall is legit for kids and adults. The people working the attractions let the kids have a great time and didn't count the minutes or anything.

- I don't know how much the trip cost unfortunately because this was a gift trip, so I can't truly say what kind of value it was.

Overall this is worth your time. If you are realistic about what you will find in the middle of French Lick, Indiana, you will enjoy it.

By My Info C |

This indoor Waterpark looked alot bigger on the internet. Was a little disappointed with the overall size and the lack of activities for younger children. The price for everything was in my opinion fair and the food wasn't outrageously high. The main restaurant by the gift shop was absolutely amazing from the food to the decor. My children loved everything about it

By atallen2003 |

We stayed here on a Sunday night. It wasn't too crowded, the staff were helpful, and the water park was fun. We loved that the park was open until nine. The water park is a great size. We were able to see the kids from our chairs any where they went. We even enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool. The room was pretty standard, nothing fancy. We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

By Jen T |

We have stayed here a few different times and it really makes a great getaway with the kids! On this last trip I took my three sons and four friends to celebrate a birthday. The boys had so much fun! We lucked out and got one of the online specials and I booked two rooms. The boys loved playing at the arcade and the water park, you just have to pay attention at the arcade because it doesn't seem like they are very attentive to which ones are out of tickets or not working. The free breakfast was also great for feeding that many boys! We went to shotz for a round of laser tag with the coupons that came with our package. Overall it was a great weekend.

By KJ F |

We visited the park on 4th of July weekend and got there a little after the park opened. It was not busy at all which was nice. Check in was easy with pre-printed tickets they put arm bands on us and we entered the park. The armbands were nice because we were allowed to re enter the park if we left which we did to eat lunch at a local restaurant. Overall the park was fun and seemed clean. I did notice some features on the lazy river that were not functioning that had before. The decor could use a little update too. The fake decorative plants obviously need updated and maybe some more paint. I did notice chips and cracks in some places throughout the park but was not horrible. The lobby did seem a little understaffed for the holiday weekend which meant long wait lines for food or games but the service was good and they were very friendly. I saw several reviews that said lobby was dirty but it looked clean to me. A few tables needed cleaned off but that was about it. It was a fun trip. Will definitely return.

Just a tip...the blue body slide is pitch black the entire ride, so if you are slightly claustrophobic do not enter that one. :-)

By Shannon H |

We had a great time. Perfect size not too big and the rooms were clean and spacious. French Lick is a charming little town. Only complaint was the wing place that claims to be family dining. It was basically a hooters with the same crappy food. But don't let that stop you from this great hotel and water park. My two year old had a blast. We will definitely be back!

By Marty W |

It was a very hot day and the outside pool was just what I needed!! The kids loved the inside activities!!

By jarodbaker |

This is a great place to visit year round! Yes, it is on a smaller scale when compared to places like Great Wolf lodge. However, Big Splash is full of family fun! The rooms are clean (if you stay overnight) and excellent food/services are located on site.

By scott1102 |

This is not the place to come in the winter. There is even a warning at the front desk that the indoor water park is essentially a chlorine gas chamber. I was done after an hour or so breathing the toxic air. Certainly not worth the drive from Indianapolis. Don’t think it bothered the kids that much and they certainly enjoyed it. Not a place for grandparents.

By hoosiermimi |

Hubby and I came here for an overnight stay with our adult daughter, her husband and 2 children ages 9 and 6. We stayed in a "suite" w a separate bedroom and bathroom which was nice. However, the carpet looked worn and the bedspread in the 2nd bedroom had what looked like a small chocolate mark on it. The whole feel of the room was not particularly clean but it could have been that these are well worn rooms. The waterpark was great and enjoyed by all. I would not suggest the free buffet breakfast as it ranks up there with other free hotel breakfasts meaning you get what you pay for. Eat breakfast elsewhere.

By Terri C |

We took 2 of the grandsons down for an overnight. The room was great, all the employees were nice and very helpful. We used the water park Saturday afternoon until closing time and after a really nice hot breakfast buffet we were back in the water for several more hours. We also had included in our stay lazer tag and other family fun activities at SHOTZ the sister company right down the hill. The only thing that could be better is the food stand at the pool. Food was what you would expect but they really needed more help. The food took a while and they had no one cleaning tables. Not a big deal and it would not make a difference in the consideration of coming back. We will be back!!!

By Cboyd67 |

First of all, Thanks for the Military Discount. The water activities are great for our family: babies, teens and adults. The slides were fun and the kids spent most of their time on the slides. The lazy river is fun for all ages. My tired body enjoyed the Jacuzzi.

We will return soon. We are already planning a winter family get away at the hotel and water park.

Got the Groupon day pass special 2 admission, two drinks and 30 tokens for $32. This makes my third trip to Big Splash. This is the first time on a day pass. Couldn't pass up the Groupon savings. Had a great time as always and the staff was friendly and facilities clean as always!

By Amanda W |

The Waterpark is fun for the kids. (Ours are 9 and 7) Water is a bit chili but the kids didn't seem to mind. The hot tub is for adults only. It's nice size but the fence around it doesn't allow you to see the park very well. We stayed at the hotel. Staff was friendly and the room was very clean. But, the A/C in the room did not work. Restaurant food was just okay. Staff was great there too.

By Cheryl M |

We stayed here overnight for a weekend getaway. The room was ok, the beds and decor are dated and could use a remodel, but I do understand that the rooms are frequented with children and I'm sure they get put through the ringer. The breakfast buffet in the morning was decent, one of the better ones I've had. The water park was fun! The kids loved it (7 and 1.5). The adults even had a good time riding the slides. We played arcade games and had some snacks from the little food area outside the park. Prices were decent, but slow to get food. Almost 1/2 hr for hot dog, soft pretzel, breadsticks, and 2 drinks. It wasn't too crowded when we went (10a_1p) but later in the day it started to get crowded with people buying day passes and new guests checking in to the hotel. We would try it out again.

By Adam W |

Just got back after spending the day at the big splash water park for the day. The park itself seems pretty clean, staff is friendly enough and the kids always have a great time, there seems to be a lot for them to do. All in all, great place to take the kids, no complaints

By janetlorraine |

I went here for the first time this summer with my sister and her kids. My niece and her family and my mother also got a room there when we did. They had been before and it's a part of their vacation they've always looked forward to. Based on this visit, we don't plan to go back.
The room was disappointing from the bedding to the bunk beds. None of the rooms/suites on the website matched the room we were given. There was one set of bunk beds in the room, pretty close to the king bed and the top bunk was very close to the ceiling. On the website it shows all the rooms with bunk beds also have a refrigerator and microwave. We expected our room would be equipped like that, too, but it wasn't. That was a problem since we had bought perishables to put in the refrigerator, such as yogurt and juice, and sodas to keep cool..The employee booking our room didn't tell us the room we would be given wasn't shown on the website and was a lesser quality. For covers the bedding we had was a well worn white sheet on top, a wool-like blanket next, and another sheet. There was no comforter or duvet. When I looked at the bed I could see the stitching pattern on the mattress through the covers. I will add a photo showing this to my review once the review is posted. My sister said the rooms they'd had on previous stays were much nicer, including the bedding.
The sink and area for toiletries is attached to the wall opposite the bathroom and area for hanging clothes and starts right by the door. Coming into the room and walking by someone trying to get ready was a tight squeeze. I will add a photo of this area, too. We had asked for extra towels and toiletries when we made the reservation but they hadn't been put in our rooms.
My sister said the water park had warm water when they'd been there before, but this time the water was cold. We'd looked forward to using the inner tubes on the lazy river but it was just too cold to enjoy. We tried the hot tub but it had a strong
chlorine smell and the chemicals were so strong they stung my skin. The water in the hot tub was hotter than normal and we saw ants running along the edge of the hot tub. That wouldn't be surprising if we'd been outdoors, I guess, but was not something I expected indoors. The kids enjoyed the water spouts, waterfalls and slides but the water park was smaller than the others they go to, with not as much to do.
The internet was very slow, even for smartphones.
The gift shop selection was also downsized with not much for the kids to choose from as the shop had had in the past.
The breakfast was a big disappointment. There was a very limited selection of food and nothing healthy to eat, such as fresh fruit. Most hotels at least have a machine serving several types of cold juice. This one had little foil covered tubs of thawing orange juice that was in a middle refrigerated section. That refrigerated section served as a divider between the two sides that served identical food. As the guests stopped coming in one side was so quickly roped off my sister was roped in. The attendant did let her out but certainly could have waited for her to be done. It was very industrial and utilitarian looking instead of inviting.
The price was very similar to other bigger and much better appointed water park resorts, even though we had a discounted rate. Big Splash really suffers in comparison to other water parks and we didn't find the value comparable to the price..

My husband and I too our daughters here (4&6) we checked in Friday night at 7pm and checked out at 11am Saturday. However because we stayed one night we got Friday and all day Saturday at the water park. The rooms were great, the food at the galley wasnt too bad and was decently priced they even delivered to your room. Our 6 yr old was able to do everything on her own but there was still a ton for our 4 yr old to do also. The beds were actually comfortable. My only complaint was the free breakfast buffet could use some work as the French toast was extremely hard, the cereal was a little stale and the eggs were fake, for being free and all you can eat we made it work but it could use some improvement. Other than that great stay for a great price.

This was my first time at the water park and I was quite disappointed! Wrist bands are required to gain access to the water park. I do not swim and because I didn't purchase a day pass I was not allowed inside where I could watch my family. I don't feel I should pay full price if I'm not going to swim. They need to offer a lower price fee to those that aren't swimming along with a different color band to distinguish those that aren't swimming. So while my family had fun playing, I was stuck sitting in the lobby waiting. Not much of a family adventure when the whole family can't be together!

Decent water park. Very small area for little ones. Not very clean. The rooms have no fitted sheets and sticky carpet. Didn’t feel very well kept.. Kids had fun but adults were disappointed.

The fried chicken sandwich, fantastic! Over all great atmosphere. Would certainly recommend to friends and family.

This place was full of dirty towels, screaming children and parents who declined to parent. Staff was pretty rude. The line for bracelets to get in was same as snack bar and only one attendant on busy holiday. I asked for coffee so my husband could have something warm to drink and they said I could walk down one floor to lobby. They told me the lockers may or may not be working I would have to take my chances. There were no guards in the two sections where children 5 and under are permitted so bigger children who didn't want to wait in line pushed their way to slides and were running into each other. It was chaos. Will not return

Nice clean room and water park.

I modified my original date from a double queen but due to lack of availability was assigned a one king bed room ada. No sweat.

Upon check in, I received free upgrade to my original request of double queen since someone else canceled. Very nice of them and although a very busy Saturday my room was ready at 3 pm, one hour early, though not all rooms were.

Bathroom had at least two places to hang bath towels in bathroom. Genius! I have been too many hotels where there is only one towel hook but fits up to four or more people. Where should all the towels go then?

Also a line to hang wet swim things.

There was no fridge in room or microwave in room but one small microwave to serve entire floor.

Big TV in room, good sound, fairly quiet AC unit. Decent size room overall. Plenty of space for luggage.

Stayed on fourth floor facing back of hotel. Close to elevators.

The free breakfast was good. Can't go wrong with biscuits and gravy. It is not scheduled to open and serve till 8 am. That was disappointing and unknown as I wanted to leave for Indianapolis by 8 am.

Walked down about 5 or 10 minutes early though and they were open so was able to get out before 830 am, less than 30 minutes late.

Water park was fun. Some of the guys at top of slides were friendly, nice and fun! Gave us big kick pushes to go start fast.

This was only my second time at indoor water park connected to hotel but they all seem about the same; 4 slides, lazy river, play area and play pools. This one had two body slides, two tube slides. Chose here because most places have 48'' height requirement this one lower at 46'.

The only down side is there was one staircase. Very , very inconvenient for those not riding tube slides! This probably can't be changed but poor design choice! One staircase for four slides. All they needed was one more stair case for non-tube slides. Stair case is not wide and people with tubes block the path of body sliders.

Other similar place i have been two had 3 slides, 2 stair cases. much nicer in that regard. I am not sure how busy the day i went was in regards to other days. So I imagine the line situation could be worse. Seemed like most of the time they were running out of single rider tubes.as tubes are also needed for lazy river.

These type of places to me are for young kids thru tweens. Though do see some older kids (teens), I think most teens out grow a place like this. But fun family place where fun can be had by all. My 7 year old loved it.

This was cool because it is surrounded by all glass! And has a retractable roof though not sure if/when they use it. You can enjoy sun and beautiful view of surrounding trees and outdoors. I imagine this place is lovely in winter seeing snow coated tree tops. This place sits atop a huge hill.

Good option to stay here if you have amusement park or outdoor plans. In the event the weather turns you have a backup plan. Though i suppose you could always just come here and get water park only passes as well as depending on how availability.

My husband and I brought four of our grandchildren and one of our daughters for a birthday getaway. I reserved a nice suite that had a private room in our room for us with a queen size bed and our own tv and bathroom. The rest shared the main part that had one set of bunk beds a full size fold out couch along with a king size bed. We had a refrigerator and a microwave. The room was large comfortable and clean. The water park was awesome. It was clean and all of the staff was courteous, professional and very nice. It is a great place to get away for family fun and celebrations. We really did enjoy our time there!

This water park was great for kids of all ages. Our youngest to oldest all found something that they enjoyed. Very clean and safe

By peep72 |

Quick check-in but glad we arrived early in the day; noticed long lines just a short time later. Very clean, king bed room with sofa bed which was appreciated. Was surprised to find that the window opened quite easily as we were on the 5th floor, frightened that the 9 year old would be curious and open said window. Have visited Great Wolf but liked the smaller version here, and don't like to complain as the water and surrounding area was very clean, but....water was freezing, even in the baby pool. I noticed very small children shivering and one with nearly blue lips in the baby pool. Getting in the lazy river took my breath away. I, adult with me, and 10 yo suffered with eye issues from the excess chlorine. Improvements could include more chairs, fixing some of the games in the game area, and better access through the area from the hotel to the pool access, and chairs. I had to sit in the floor several times to assist the grandkids with shoes, etc. Free Breakfast was one of the least enjoyable I have had in a hotel. Overall, we may visit again, but would wait for warmer weather and pick up fast food breakfast.

We stayed for only 1 night, and then went to a elephant/giraffe encounter. Our kids, aged 12/15, had a pretty good time. The room was clean, and the water park was enjoyable. I wouldn’t suggest staying a long period of time one night is good enough. I definitely would say the boatyard, in the lobby area, had extremely good food. Fun for little kids, but not as enjoyable for teens. Would suggest bringing group of teens and just buying the day pass for the water park. Not much of an adult thing, but enjoyable for younger kids.

Big Splash Was a nice getaway for our party of 5. We have 3 boys (12, 11 & 7) that seemed to be please with the water rides, water activities & arcade. It is definitely smaller than some other water parks we've been to in the past but it does make it nice to sit back and be able to see them wonder around. And I loved that the hot tub is for guests 18 and older! I would recommend this place more for families with kids under the age of 11.
The hotel is good and clean. Not sure how housekeeping works as all they did was make our bed and not clean/restock. Our boys enjoyed the bunk beds and the wristband keys to the room, which was really cool and convenient. The restaurants are average.

We are currently here. I have to say, I loved the warmth of the indoor pool area. My kids enjoy water parks so this was a nice mini water park for them. They had a good selection of slides and young children play items. My feet had a tan from my flip flops when we left the area. Tyler at the restaurant, Boatyard, was awesome. He was friendly, attentive, and accurate. The food at the restaurant was better than expected. I REALLY appreciated an option with ribs, pasta and nice adult beverages.

We kind of happened on this place when visiting relatives in Evansvillle and were told to visit French Lick. we are from TN and our fall break was earlier than in IN so we got really luck. we ended up paying a lot less than my sister that came at a different time.
We had a lot of fun. Big enough but not so big you feel you could lose your children.
We stayed a night in the hotel part and it was nice. we stayed when there were not too many people so you might want to stay on a floor away from the water park if you don't like noise or kids running around.

By Lakehideaway |

First time at the resort. Our children liked it well enough. It was super crowded on Saturday afternoon. Nowhere to sit. Strong chlorine smell. Lots of people and tubs crammed in the lazy river. The kids liked the arcade but by the time we got there to play after dinner on Saturday night, several of the arcade machines were jammed so the kids would play games but get no tickets.
Best time to swim and play in arcade was in the morning for sure. Machines had plenty of tickets and the pool wasn't crowed at all.
Hotel room was ok, nothing special. Next time we go, we'll stay at different hotel and just buy a day pass to water park.

By George B |

We visit Big Splash at least once each year. Fun place for kids. Rooms are made to accomadate families. This is not a hotel for adults only. It's very loud. You can hear kids running in halls, jumping in rooms, and doors slamming. Water park is fun.

By nancym22401 |

We visited thus waterpark today as part of a discount coupon. We have a 13 yr old son and he was quickly bored with the park. They also don't have a just watching pass so I had to pay full price. If you have small kids this would probably be a fun activity but if you have older kids better have a back up plan and if you don't swim or are the one that doesn't care for waterparks you will still pay full price just to watch your family have fun

First of all, what town doesnt have cell service? No service at all the 2 days we were there. The WIFI wouldnt connect. The headboards were filthy. The ghetto trashy people who stayed next to us let their baby cry ALL night, fought, and on our floor and the floor above us, kids ran, screamed and slammed doors all night. Had to call the front desk eventually at 1230 and complain. Nothing changed. The chlorine is overpowering, the arcade is a joke with all games either out of order or not giving out correct won tickets. The breakfast line was sooo long and we didnt even eat. Im sure management will give some canned, b s public relation answer on here but all I want is my money back. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS SUPER 8 WITH A WATER PARK! !

By Betsy R |

This was our first visit here to Big Splash. We checked in and got into waterpark around 1:00 p.m. and it was packed! Lazy River was like bumper cars! They sell day passes to the pool and they don't seem to limit the capacity. Good thing we brought our own life jackets because there were none available. We went in the waterpark the next day from 9-10 and it was MUCH better (only hotel guests are allowed then). The breakfast was AWFUL (don't waste your $). We all ended up grabbing breakfast from a local place and McDonald's. The rooms were average. We had littles (2 yr, 1 yr, 7 mo old) so maybe bigger kids would enjoy it more. Spent $308 for the night for a room with 2 queen beds plus waterpark tix and breakfast.

We had such a great time at Big Splash! We took 4 kids ages 2-15. They all had a blast. Great 2 day trip. Staff was so friendly and wonderful! Me and my hubby had a super comfy king size bed and the kids had 2 sets of bunk beds. Key readers on the bracelets mean all kids have a key at all times and no keeping up with them. Very clean. 4 water slides. Great pools for all ages. Free breakfast had tons of options. No noise issues. Temp in room and whole place was perfect. Fruit punch slush at pool snack bar was amazing! I seriously don't know why anybody would write a bad review. Also amazing historic hotels to tour (free) before you leave town are so worth it!

By Teri L |

Way over crowded, no towels available for hotel guests. Believe that daily pass should require bringing your own towel to ensure people paying to stay have adequate supplies. Our room was okay but not worth the price. Bathroom tub would not drain at all, standing water the entire stay. Towel holder in bathroom repeatedly fell off, needs remounted into wall. No cups or ice buckets in room. Had to ask to receive these items. Bagged breakfast do to Covid was a complete mess. Wasn’t offered anything extra had to ask for fruit and cereal. The best part about our visit was the tavern, the staff was pleasant and drinks were wonderful. I also feel that the Adult Only hot tub should be open until 11pm after the water park closes. The kids are tired and ready for bed, I was ready to relax in warm water. Just a personal request I think would help the facility. Room was clean, outside of the few complaints with functionality. Room was conveniently located.

We came on a Monday during holiday break and it was packed. Way too many people.

We later learned that there was some coupon that was expiring that people were trying to use up.

The water park was like walking into a sauna with enough chlorine smell to kill a baby elephant. I wear contacts and my eyes were burning after an hour and I never got in the water. My wife's eyes were also burning and she also did not get in the water but doesn't wear contacts.

We never got in the lazy river because there was no rafts available plus it was just too crowded. They tell you to not bring your own towels but they were out shortly after lunch. There were no seats available and all the lockers were taken by 10:30am.

The resort was okay. The boys loved their bunk bed. We ate in the buffet Sunday night and thought we would eat in the restaurant Monday night. Even though there's a menu on the website, in the hotel guide, and in the elevators, we were disappointed to learn that they stopped serving dinner at 5pm and it was a buffet again with the same crappy food. I asked when they actually served dinner and the response was, "Sometimes when we're not busy otherwise we just offer the buffet".

My daughter loved the lazy river and the rope challenge. We both got a bit scared on the water slides. The arcade is very fun as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Life jackets are provided if needed. There is a concession stand as well. We ordered tickets early so we knew we would be able to get in; it wasn't super busy though.

By sarnich12 |

My family and I visited over the weekend it was nice everyone was friendly. They had lots to do. The hours were great! The only down fall was the lazy river scrapped everyone of my kids knees & to me it felt like there wasn't a lot of lifeguards on staff.

By kimrisley |

Hotel is great rooms are clean and spacious just wish there was a small fridge for convenience. Water park had lots of things for the kids to do and the adult hot tub was nice . breakfast was good and a verity of items to pick from. Would definitely recommend this place for a little get away .

By ochotka2017 |

Water was freezing, and the only hottub where kids could warm up was for adults only. There was no employees watching slides, so some big kid went on a slide right after my daughter, and ran into her. Also on big funnel looking slide, I saw 4 year old get flipped off the tube and hit his head. It was either a bad design of the slide, or he was too small to be on it, but noone checked. My kids were done and wanted to leave after less than an hour, and they usually love waterparks. I saw a guy with blisters and open wounds all over his leg on the lazy River, and once my daughter cut her foot and knee on the lazy river it was perfect time to go home.

By Christine K |

Although it is a smaller indoor park, Big Splash is inexpensive and fun for a full day's worth of fun in the winter. There is something for every age of kid, and we also enjoyed playing cornhole in the eating area while we took a break from water play.

By Amber E |

We bought day passes through my son's school fundraiser. They really don't have where you are supposed to go marked very well. They seemed to be short staffed that day. First we stood in line to turn our passes in for bracelets. Then we rented a locker, to do that we had to stand in line with the people who were ordering food. When you go to change into your swimsuits, you have to make your way through the food line, then stand in line again. Once you change you have to make your way back through the food and bracelet line again. Then you can go out to the waterpark. When you are ready to change, you get to do it all over again. The day that we went it was really crowded, so maybe it's not so bad all the time. Also maybe if you were staying at the hotel it would be better, then you wouldn't have to use the changing rooms. On the bright side our son had a great time on the small slides. Not sure we will go again.

By shellif10 |

We had 2 kiddos with us, age 3 & 5, and we all had a great time! The entire facility is very clean & convenient. They supply towels for the water park, the bathrooms were very clean, there’s food inside the park. You really don’t have to leave unless you just wanted to. There are several small places to eat within a mile or 2 outside the park. Since we went in January (with snow on the ground), we were worried it would be a little chilly inside the park but it was very pleasant. We will definitely be going back!

By payton583 |

Went here with my daughter's, son in laws and grand babies for a family weekend. The family loved the water park. Everyone was very friendly. The rooms we had were not very clean, the noise was terrible and the Wi-Fi not too good. It sounded like people were stomping around all night and believe you could here it. For the cost of an overnight stay you would have expected the rooms to have been much cleaner.

Nice getaway! The 13 year olds and adults enjoyed the waterpark. Nice facilities and customer service is good.

Big Splash Adventure was the first water park we visited 4 years ago and we had a blast...and it made us fans of water park hotels. We have since visited Great Wolf lodge in several locations. We returned to Big Splash last week for a one night stay as a short get-away during fall break. We got a package deal that included laser tag tickets (which the kids, ages 7,9 and 10) loved. The water park and the hotel rooms were still in good condition after all these years and the staff were friendly...no complaints. The rooms are pretty basic and the water park is on the small side, but it still was a fun way to spend a couple days and the overall price tag (less than 200 for 5 people) was significantly less than had we gone to Great Wolf...and big Splash includes a decent breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes, oatmeal, fruit, biscuits, etc) my husband and I have a restricted paleo diet and were able to find something to eat...not gourmet by any means, but sufficient. French Lick is a bit out of the way, but is increasing in options for activities and restaurants, etc. Overall, I recommend Big Splash Adventure. My kids had a bit more fun the first time we visited...this time they maxed out sooner due to the smaller size of the water park, so I'd recommend this for elementary aged kids or younger. Other than the free breakfast and some drinks/ snacks from the poolside snack bar, we did not eat on site.

By molmac927 |

I attended this park as part of a package deal in the ranch I was staying at. I was excited to check this out, but upon arrival became very disappointed. I had a pre-printed pass to check in with so I could get my wrist band and it took forever just to be able to go inside the park. At the time I was there, I had to wait in the food line for someone to help me get my wrist band. There was not a designated person in charge of the entrance process which really surprised me and seemed unusual. The outside portion of the park was very small. The lazy river was nice, but the water appeared to be an unusual murky color. I would say there were 3 or 4 "big" rides and the lines for them were very long. If you have smaller children, there were nice areas for them. The hot tub was nice and seemed well maintained. I cut my visit very short - only stayed 30 minutes.

We were happy to be able to use Groupon for day passes! It was crowded for a Monday. Kitchen area/food area/arcade prize area/day pass purchase area is way too small too accommodate a crowd. It always smells very smoky in the food area: either the ovens need to be cleaned out or there needs to be a better ventilation system. More tables are needed for customers who want to eat during these busy times. It seemed that there needed to be more staff in these areas. Everyone was working hard and friendly.
Our kids had a blast. The only complaint about the water park was that there needs to be bigger signs posted to let people know NOT to jump into the pool with the basketball goals. The lifeguards in this area spent most of their time blowing their whistles at people from afar who had NO idea what they did wrong?! Who doesn't want to jump into a pool?? The signs posted were small, and young kids aren't going to pay attention to them when they are just arriving and excited to be there. It was confusing. Our kids enjoyed the day.

Visited in February 2019 on a Saturday. This was a nice indoor water park. A little crowded. There was only one stairway to get to the 4 water slides. Generally, if you were going down one of the 2 slides that were skin only (no tubes) you could run up by all those waiting with their tubes and the line was fairly short. My understanding is that they open up the roof in the spring/summer, which would be nice. The kids had fun for a couple of hours and then we went to the restaurant downstairs. Everyone enjoyed the meal...no complaints, good service. Then back to the park for a couple more hours. As noted...worth a visit.

Look, this is not a hotel experience for the parents...it's about the kids getting to play at the water park and spend all day with friends. The hotel rooms are just ok, some of the clientelle "have poor hygiene", and apparently most dad's believe in a 5 tattoo minimum limit.

Came with 4 kids under 6. They all played for hours. Good waterpark. Staff is a bit aloof. Place seemed a bit average outside the water park (food area, game area were just okay).

We’ve been here before and it’s been fine, but this trip was really great. Our kids are now 6 and 4 (we have 4 year old twins). This water park is especially great for elementary and preschool age. All three of my kids enjoyed the splash/kid slide area with water bucket. My oldest enjoyed the bigger slides with dad this year. I like that’s it’s just the right size to keep you busy, all while being easy to keep track of your kids in the water park. They’re in the middle of a renovation and our room was finished and very nice. We always got a seat right away at breakfast and everyone found something to eat at the buffet (which is included during your stay!). My kids really liked the ham at the buffet, something I don’t remember them offering the last time we visited. No fancy coffee on site, I bring my own Starbucks. We enjoy going to explore West Baden and French Lick and finding special treats out and about at the speciality shops there. We caught the end of the French Lick Christmas lights and displays. If the weather was nicer we might have booked a carriage ride.

My family and I were in town for Polar Express train ride. My first impression was the place was really nice and friendly. We checked in and decided to eat at the restaurant downstair. We were seated by the girl who was working the gift shop. Our drinks were brought out by someone else and she took our order. The same girl brought our food out and that was the last time I saw her for the weekend. The girl from the gift shop noticed we were sitting there with empty cups and we were finished with our meal. The food was bad. She gave us our ticket and since we just got there I paid it and decided not to throw a fuss about it.
The next morning we went to the waterpark and we all loved it. It was better than the website showed. We were all having a good time and me and my son started coughing really bad. My wife said the chlorine was strong and she suggested we go outside. Within minutes the coughing stopped so we decided to cut our visit short and go back home. There were other people complaining about it also. I think this place is really nice and the rooms were neat but I can't even think about coming back and exposing my kids to chemicals or the horrible food.

By Tim O |

Traveling from Indianapolis was only a couple hours. The price was right on for what it was. The room was very clean and spacious. We opted for a room with bunk beds, perfect for the children. The water park was a great size for younger children and a weekend getaway. For thrill seekers or those seeking a mega sized indoor park - this isn't it. It was perfect for our needs though. The restaurant onsite had a really good burger. The free hot breakfast was pretty good with a decent selection. The biscuits and gravy need work though. I'm certain we will return in the future.

Indoor water park with a lot of slides for all ages. The lifeguards are attentive and nice to the kids.

By buckeye3000 |

We stayed here based on friends saying it was great. Obviously they have not been to Kalahari. There is really not much to do. There is a lazy river, two big water slides, a small toddler area with two slides, a very small baby pool and a hot tub and an area that had basketball hoops, they had windows cracked open so the water and the park were freezing and you could smell the chlorine before you even got to the pool. My five year old was bored in less than an hour . The breakfast was included but not much too it. They had sandwiches at the main restaurant for $8 which were okay. The service was so slow. If you want a late check out it was $80 and you could stay until 3pm. Don't bother coming here.

By Milla902 |

I was surprised at how crowded it was, didn't seem very safe. It was not very clean and the grill service was terrible. The majority of the arcade games didn't work. All in all a very disappointing day.

We were on our way to French Lick Resort and our 10 year old daughter was tired of the driving. We took her here and it made her whole week! They have 3 4-story water slides that are amazing for older kids 8+ and a smaller one for little kids. Plus a great lazy river (you float around on a tube) and pool. It will keep your kids entertained for at least a couple hours or more!

By Betsey S |

We are staying at the hotel for two nights. On our first night, the bunk beds did not have mattress pads, the pillows and sheets on the king bed were tattered and see through thin - we did get mattress pads when we requested for the bunk beds but they do not have any for the pull out bed (gross). The hotel is at maximum capacity and there was a ridiculously long line for the "free" breakfast which resulted in us having to go to McDonald's with 4 hungry kids. We would have cancelled our second night, but could not due to the refund policy. For the cost of the stay, I would have expected much nicer accommodations and a better organized hotel. I truly wish we would have stayed somewhere else and done something else.

I love family outings. I like that Big Splash is an indoor water park. I thought the park was small which allow me to be able to monitor the children. I felt that this park is more family oriented in that the attire of most of the individuals were modest in appearance. I had visited Splashing Safari the day before.
Overall lots of fun. Pricing is based on sizes. 46 inches and above was $24.95. 46 inches and under and those 60+ is $19.95 with children 2 and under=free.

Our weekend trip was not what we thought it was going to be. There was a lot to do but then again there wasn't yeah fun water stuff but then once you're out of the pool there's not a whole lot to choose from as far as around that area for kids to do

By Thurman R |

We will be visiting this hotel/water park again. We were very impressed with everything that they had to offer. Have told many friends with kiddos.

By Ntdilts22 |

I’ll start by saying we were in one of the bigger rooms so maybe it was different than most? But I read on here a lot of bad reviews on cleanliness of the rooms and frankly, I have no idea what they’re talking about. I was expecting some of that, but the our room had nice well made beds, very clean bathrooms, clean refrigerator, etc. And we have pretty high standards 🤷🏻‍♂️. Absolutely zero issue with the room. It was better than expected if anything.

The water park was fun. We had myself, my wife, and one year old son, along with adult family members so we spent a lot of time in the lazy river, which was good, but fair warning it does have a really rough floor. No big deal there for us, first world problems. The kids ‘buccaneer bay’ area was good for my 16 month old, and we also enjoyed the outside pool which was less crowded, and the adults only hot tub. We even did the slides a few times, which were good but one complaint about them, which I’ll get to below...

If you’re looking for ‘COVID friendly’ I wouldn’t call it that. But it was Labor Day weekend. I mean Saturday it was packed inside. We just went outside...

Pro tip, utilize the hotel guests only hours of 9-11AM. Best time to be in there before day passes get there. Supposed to be hotel only 7-9 also, but they don’t run anyone out.

The only reason I don’t give it five stars are due to an incident on the tube slide.

Went down the blue and yellow tube slide and it was great. Makes you feel like a kid again. Really enjoyed it. Until the end. You go into the open “funnel” area and you can go down forwards or backwards based on how your momentum takes you into the bottom half of the tube. I ended up backwards which was fun, except at the end youre thrown around a sharp turn before the ending which has a long “stopping” area of water which has an angled ‘step down’ design with a point on it. Tough to describe. But they have old work down padding on this area so they know it’s an issue. Well I go out this thing backwards and hit my head on the side of the slide HARD! I apparently hit the back of my shoulder also because i had a large scrape that i was bleeding from that obviously took a big impact. I do give credit that the life guard who came over right away to ask if I was okay, but honestly, the lifeguards are kids and I was a grown man who was clearly hurt and they were overwhelmed. My wife is an athletic trainer and kinda took over the first aid part. Eventually someone had me go to the first aid room where the supervisor and some kind of medical professional who were very nice but not used to this kinda thing cleaned up and bandaged my shoulder. They basically ignored my being hit in the head other than asking me what happened. I do know they were discussing it after I left because they were in the room pointing to the slide for awhile.

I get it that I’m a tall and bigger guy, but they really need to do something about that end of the slide. If it was a kid that coulda been a lot of damage. I’m fine other than a knot on my head and that cut on the shoulder, but someone else could seriously be hurt with that. It’s a real shame, because it’s a really fun slide.

Overall, I’d recommend this place to anyone, it’s a really fun weekend trip. But I’d tell them to be careful on the blue and yellow tube slide.

Not huge but even though it was crowded it didn’t feel crowded. Lots of slides to go down, kids loved the playground and the lazy river. Has lockers but they are kind of expensive. Pretty nice for a family trip

Not a hit with my kids. Either environment or water needs to be warmer. There are four or five high slides, with body slides. The slides were pretty good, a little herky jerky leaving me dizzy. Both body slides and tube slides were fun and I went on about six trips before I simply got sick of waiting in line. This place is open from 9:30 am to about 9 pm. There were very few times when the slide line decreased. I did notice that many of the patrons ran for the food and pizza at noon which created a little shorter line. This place is not that enjoyable for a twelve hour day. I would plan only three hours max at the place as my kids were quite sick of it after about two hours. It's just another fight with all of humanity to get on the attraction; which is really a lackluster attraction. I did appreciate that the slide rafts/tubes did not weigh much at all and were very easy to cary. Lines were kind of long on a relatively quiet day April 2; don't think I would chance this at all on a weekend or warmer day. I was pretty unimpressed with the other patrons leaving garbage all over tables and too lazy to clean up after themselves. Addtionally, NOT VERY CLEAN, the environment is kind of gross and could use a really good bleaching and thorough pressure washing of all the surfaces in the place. The mens changing room had no mirrors, hand dryers were not functioning. All of that said, I would not make this my primary reason for coming to French Lick.

The most inefficient check in process ever experienced - two clerks trying to manage a lobby full of guests. Stood in line for 30 minutes, only to be told to come back at 3:45 or 5:15 since the line would be very long. Save your money and go to a Great Wolf Lodge with exceptional customer service.

I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the mixed reviews but we had a great time at Big Splash. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly, especially the front desk. We went on a Saturday so it was pretty busy but not so crowded it was uncomfortable. The staff did a great job keeping up. The waterpark is small enough to find your family but big enough to keep the teenagers entertained.

By Mandy2861 |

Well the pictures that are available to view for the Splash Park are slightly misleading. The water park area is very small and completely over crowded. There are not enough chairs or places to leave towels while playing. I understand first come first serve, however, the hotel guest should have some priority over the day pass guest. It was just too crowded to enjoy.
As for the hotel room that we stayed in, Big Splash, was dirty. There was hair on the pillow cases that did not smell washed and food crumbs completely filling one of the drawers for storage of your clothes. The pull out sofa bed had two flat sheets, no fitted, provided and a blanket, however, the blanket had sticky candy on it, so we did not use it.
I would not recommend this hotel or waterpark. We actually drove 2 1/2 hrs and considered leaving shortly after we arrived. Unfortunately, it was Spring Break and not a lot of other nearby choices.
Don't bother booking a stay or swimming for the day.

Very clean. Not busy first week of Jan. We had the water park to ourselves. Staff said the week before (bc of the holiday) is one of their busiest. Lifeguards were friendly & helpful.

Excellent indoor water park. Especially for winter times. Big slides and fun for adults and kids. I will definitely come again. You can get better park prices on the other websites. We decided not to stay at the hotel though, and it was a great idea. It seems very noisy, dirty and busy even in winter. Unless you like crowd and fun times, or you have a large family, it is better and cheaper to stay somewhere else and to just buy park passes.

By Maranda A |

it was quite crowded over Spring Break (as to be expected). However, there was ample opportunities for our kids (ages 5 and 6) to play and enjoy themselves in the various water/ splash areas. They especially loved the pirate themed water sprayers/ double slide right in the center of the waterpark. It is like a giant jungle gym with spray nozzles and slides.

By Ember L |

This hotel is just absolutely terrible there was bugs on the floor corn kernels in my bed. Also some of the staff was rude. The only good thing about this hotel was the arcade and the shower had good water pressure but the shower is absolutely disgusting.

Great for a weekend getaway with the kids. lots to see and do in the area. the restaurant needs improvement. We have eaten here 3 times and it left a lot to be desired. they need to work on this aspect of the business. otherwise everything else was great.

By David B |

We had a good time with our kids in the water park- a great water park to go to in the winter since it's enclosed and heated. We did not stay at the hotel. We used a Groupon which was a good deal for what we did. The food is average quality, but pricey for what you get. Also, we drove our 40' RV and didn't have any issues driving up the hill or parking near the back where there was plenty of parking.

By PLANSPRO25 |

I liked the idea of the big splash water park until I got there. Maybe it was an off weekend but I thought it was an overpriced tourist trap. Water park was overpacked, game room had numerous out of service machines, and the rooms were kinda dirty. On the plus side the breakfast was decent and the staff was extremely courteous.

My sister and I took the kids up for a fun day at the pool. We were disappointed when we arrived because by the pictures it appeared to be huge and it wasnt. It was a large area but one of the things that frustrated me was there wasnt just one large open pool to swim or float in. The one pool that was open was outside and not big and it had basketball goals in it so you had to watch out for balls hitting you and stay away from the kids playing. The younger kid we took enjoyed it more than the adults did. The adults felt like there wasnt much for us to do all day while the kids played. It became boring to continue to float in the river trail. I would say its best suited for families with young kids. The 2 teenagers we took said it was okay.

By Denise Bell |

The kids were excited when entering the park, but the temps seemed to be a little on the cool side for a water park. The kids tried out a few slides and it didn't take long until they were chilled. Using the splash pad you never really felt comfortable. The water closer to cool than warm. We go down Friday, A nice change, 12:30 arrival it felt nice and comfortable in there. The kids enjoying themselves but by 1:00 they opened windows and by !:30 or 2 the kids were cold and didn't really want to play. Of course, the arcade is right there at the entrance to the waterpark. I asked why the windows were open and the guard said he did not know, he was in a sweatshirt but said he would ask about closing them. That never happened. Needless to say, it really cleared out by 3. Saturday morning it was nice and warm in there, water still a little cool. Same thing open windows. More attendance at the park today so it stayed a little warmer but the water a little on the cool side, it didn't matter this was our day to leave and the park should be warm without the crowd. When the guards are standing around in sweatshirts, then there's your sign. To cool to be comfortable.

I have stayed at big splash multiple times now. Most of the time I book a room and pay full price so when I get there, I can check in and go straight to the room to unpack and immediately into the water park with the kids.
We called a month in advance and booked rooms for 8 people. Paid for 2 different rooms over the phone for 2 nights with a total of around $900. Went to the front desk to check in and they said that was only the deposit price. Said we still owed roughly around 800 more for the next night. Not once did the representative over the phone say that we were only paying the deposit. The manager named Corina came out with a horrible attitude of, "pay for the second night or you can leave tomorrow morning by 11am." We drove with 6 kids to stay the weekend so obviously we weren't leaving the very next day.
Next day different issue. Playing in the arcade, multiple machines ran out of tickets without giving my daughter and step son their remaining tickets. Attendant said they wouldn't do anything about it and walked away.

First time staying here overnight and enjoying the water park. Breakfast buffet was good. Variety of food items. Ate at restaurant onsite for dinner , food was decent. Beds was comfortable. Water started leaking from our ceiling. Staff acted quickly and we were moved to another room on the same floor. Water park clean .

By Hempenfamilytrips |

Read some negative reviews but gave it a try anyway. We were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and everything worked just fine. They also have a clothes line in the shower for your wet swim suites. The ice make in the hall did not work but I just went to the next floor, no big deal. The water park was great. We have 4 year old twins and they had a blast. The arcade had a few machines that were out of order, but no big deal. We will be coming back again.

This hotel and water park was a great place to stay and have fun. The food in the cafeteria and for breakfast could be much better, though it was not why I travelled there.

We decided we wanted to take the kids somewhere for a couple days of fun, without breaking the bank. We found a package deal for this location on Groupon, so we purchased it. We visited the resort on the Wednesday/Thursday prior to 4 July. Check in was fast, ample parking and several luggage carts awaited us. The room was adequate. The furnishings and look are a bit outdated, but the bed was comfortable and the place was clean. The waterpark was almost empty on Wednesday, which was great in my opinion, gave the kids more opportunity to play without having to wait. LOTS of lifeguards. And they pay attention. Children had a blast and wore themselves out. I didn't like the fact that we didn't have a micro or fridge in the room. Returned to the waterpark on Thursday, and by 11am we could see the crowds coming in for the weekend. However the kids still got several hours of nonstop fun, before we left the crowds for home. Oh, Wednesday night, around 845 we got hungry...so we hit up the restaurant in the hotel...OMG!! it was so good. Nothing fancy, but it was fresh, hot and great tasting. Mind you they close at 9pm, but at 845 they served us with a smile on their faces. We had the chicken tenders and fries, and the club sandwich...yummy! Check out was a breeze. I won't let the outdated décor prevent me from returning. The place is a couple hours from home, on the less expensive side and not so big that I have a hard time keeping track of the kids. Great outing for us!

By Nancy S |

Great indoor water park & hot tub, also has an outdoor pool. Close to other downtown activities and dining. Super fun for the kiddos and Mom & Dad alike! Year-round place to take the kids, expecially when it is snowing outside-you can watch it snow through the glass roof, which retracts in the summer!

By pwaters44 |

Our family enjoyed it very much. 4 water slides, a lazy river, a regular pool. The concessions were affordable also which is great because we actually could afford to get some food! We would go again.

By Pepperridge |

I thought it was overpriced and not very many places to sit . The food wasn’t too bad for a water park. The games inside were great for kids but not all the machines were working.

By Compass785360 |

I read several of the reviews before our trip. Our experience was wonderful. We will return. I didn't see any of the issues for bad reviews. Staff was friendly. Rooms were adequate. Definitely not a five star hotel.... If you want that your in the wrong category. Our kids (teens) loved it and are ready for our next trip. Great place for families.

My daughter is a special needs child and she really enjoyed this place and she likes coming here every single year and we just let her go and she has fun

This place sucks! The service was rude! They only let like 200 people in they should make it bigger! It sucks! They turned like 400 people down just today! They cut the tickets off right before your school breaks it's stupid! I hate this place I'm never coming back!!!

My wife and I came here for our 5 year wedding anniversary. We spent two nights in the hotel. The room was very nice. Only complaint about it would be the air conditioning unit was noisy and when the maid service cleaned the room they didn’t leave clean towels. The restaurants we ate at was very good. The morning breakfast was excellent with a big variety to choose from. The water park was nice as well. Plan on going back again.

By Samantha C |

Don’t waste your money. Very small for the price. Drove 3 hours to visit. Went to check in, found out we went into the hotel, not the day pass check in area. In the mean time, stopped to use the restroom in the hotel to find a cockroach on the floor in the bathroom. Purchased tickets on their website because it says you must purchase online to guarantee admission. Arrive to be told that my 3 kids who are over 46” tall and all under 11 years old need adult tickets… extra $15. Annoyed, I paid or else they wouldn’t be able to ride the water slides for 46” or taller. After a while we looked around for towels.. none. Asked the lady at front, she said day passes don’t get towels. $130 and I don’t get a towel?! I explained that and she said “you can use the hotel towels as long as you don’t make a fuss.” Is she serious?!

Water park - 3/5.
Kids enjoyed it (10/8/6), but parents noticed problems. Kids & Dad liked the 4 slides albeit apathetic looks on the teenage lifeguard's faces (would it kill you to smile?) and small kids pushing past you to cut the lines. The yellow body slide can hurt if you don't tuck your arms/elbows in. The lazy river was more like a "meat river" with oversized tubes and too many peeps. You can't pick the clientele either that visit this park with you, so there's that. Basically, when we went (spring break timing), it was too busy, but the park also needs some upkeep and cleaning. I did witness lifeguards practicing drills, stopping bad behavior, and helping organize life jackets/tubes. The chlorinated air is sickening after a full day, so take breaks. Skip the crappy pizza/food in the arcade and visit the wonderful options nearby in town. I recommend the German food joint.
Arcade - 2/5.
About what you would expect...lots of money for tokens that turn into tickets to exchange for Chinese plastic toys. Some machines were broke down (some with signs, some without). I recommend watching others put money into machines to note which ones are broken and which have the best token to ticket ratio before you play. Avoid the end of the day when the teens will sweep through there and wipe out all the tickets (and the staff will not replenish the machines). Expect to find the same apathetic lifeguard faces behind the ticket counter.
Hotel - 1/5.
Where to begin? Doors slam (by design) and make the entire building shake. Expect this to happen every 5 minutes until about 11:30pm. Also just expect kids running up and down the halls like thunder until the same midnight timeframe. Even though there are signs for quiet hours after 10pm, just expect it. We found a red stain on a pillowcase and trash in our rooms. Dust. The bunk bed areas must be too high/crowded for the staff to clean. The bathroom shower will likely leak all over your floor (just ensure the curtain tucks inside). Electrical conduit falling down, etc. just maintenance and cleaning issues mostly. The "complimentary" breakfast is a joke! The most disgusting biscuit and gravy dumped in a Styrofoam cup was the BEST offering. Prepackaged cereal, no fruit, no meats, no sweets/deserts, weak, crappy coffee, and instructions from the hostess on how to "clean up your own space when you leave" about sums it up. For $900 on a 2 night/water park package I would expect A LOT better.

By Amber G |

We took advantage of one of their $139/night deals that included breakfast, park passes for 4, and 4 passes at Shotz(for either Goofy Golf or Laser Tag). We decided to stay for two nights. At $300, this was definitely a good deal. The water park is nice and well maintained. We had no issues with chlorine or anything of that nature. They did have the retractable ceiling open because the weather was so nice. Water temperature was great. We stayed from a Sunday-Tuesday and crowds were at an absolute minimum. ALL of the staff we encountered was extremely nice. From my 8 year old to myself, we all rode all of the water slides. I am a larger woman and was concerned I would be hurt or not fit entirely on these slides. No worries..all was well.

A few areas for improvement that would have changed my rating from a 4 to a 5--
The free breakfast was very underwhelming. Tasted microwaved, was not the proper temperature. No tea at breakfast was a bummer as I do not drink coffee and prefer to get my caffeine through tea. The breakfast was included so it wasn't a huge complaint because we weren't out any money for it. I would not pay for a breakfast of that quality, though. This also stopped us from eating any of the other food later in the day as we were concerned about quality. We chose to eat in town (which there are lots of great options really close!)

The rooms were in great, clean condition. The pillows were horrible for us though. Lesson learned..we simply should have brought ours from home. They were too small and made it very hard to find a comfortable position to fall asleep. Easy fix though.

Lastly, just an FYI...we loved that the water park only went as deep as 3'9" so we didn't have to be overly concerned about our children while they played in any of the water areas..but be warned..the bottom of the pool is not slick. It is concrete...and if your knees or toes or anything come into quick contact with it..it will scrape you pretty good. My poor hubby found out when he was pulled by his tube on the lazy river. His knees are still badly scraped and healing. My youngest also scraped her arm on the side of the pool resulting in bleeding. We may just be a little accident prone, but we saw other adults with scraped up knees as well. Once we were aware of it, we had no more issues. :)

Overall, we recommend this for family of all ages.

Nice waterpark especially for younger kids to preteen. Even though it was a little crowded it was easy to move from one location to another. Plenty of intertubes for everyone and life jackets for younger kids. Our room was very plain but clean and the beds were comfortable. A very nice buffet breakfast with many options. The staff was very nice. My daughter is mentally impaired and they were very understanding when she acted out. Will try to come back and bring my grandson.

Me and my wife decided on a spring break vacation for the kids here at Big Splash Adventure and have been totally upset with our decision....the staff, although very courteous ,seemed slightly overwhelmed by the abundance of visitors....We are an avid vacation family and understand long lines and wait times but when waiting for food that's almost not fit for a dog one tends to get alittle angry....the pizza was horrible...My 7 yr old daughter said the crust reminded her of cardboard, my bread sticks were as hard as a rock....the only thing that was half decent was the pretzels which were in my opinion grossly over salted.....Now that brings us to the issue of why we came in the first place...The Water Park....at first glance I thought to myself..."Ok dad, nice job".... But that was short lived. The kids all happy and ready to go were anxious to hit the water but i insisted they do as the rules required and shower first so they did and in the water they went....big mistake...after about 45 minutes of play my son started complaining about his chest hurting so i told him to ease up alittle and just take in the place slowly and he would enjoy it more....not ten minutes later my 7 yr old daughter said the same thing...at this point my eyes were already burning too so me and the ol' lady decided maybe it was time for a break...get something to eat at a local restaurant get some fresh air and comeback later and let them play for the last 2 hrs it was open....so we did....it was great hardly no people so no lines i finally got in the water and hit the slides...we played and laughed for about an hr and deciced that the smell of chlorine was just too much and decided to call it a night and try again in the morning....so we did....the next day awful....kids woke up complaining about burning noses...chest hurting and hard to breathe....but being kids they still wanted to play, and being a loving parent who doesn't want to disappoint them against my wifes and my better judgement we let them play....not 30 minutes in the 7 yr old says she cant breathe well....about 5minutes after that my 11 yr son comes to me complaining about the same thing.....so we packed up and left....for 2 days we dealt with sick puking kids....and when we called the Office to explain our concerns about the problem we were blown off like it was just our issue and there was no problem....thats just crap....my daughter had on a brand new bathing suit which had been completely faded within about 4 hrs of playing in the super enriched chlorinated water....get a grip Big Splash Adventure....your money is made by people like us who want to spend good quality time with their families....but its totally not worth the stress of dealing with sick kids after coming to your place of business....you seriously need to fix this problem before someone gets hurt really bad....mine are ok now but , don't think for one minute that litigation has not been talked about....lucky for you guys I'm not vindictive but mess with somebody not as tolerant as I and this could be a big class action suit against you....please fix this issue because as far as everything else goes it was nice and within a reasonable drive for us....until then we wont be coming back....which is sad because you guys could be so much more if only you would fix this problem....

We spent one night and had access to the water park two days. Our kids were 18 and 13 and there wasn't much for them to do after a couple of hours. However, we did enjoy our stay. We mainly lounged in the outside pool. We ate at the onsite restaurant for lunch and ordered pizza in our room that night. Food was good. Rooms were clean. We stayed in French Lick on our way to KY, so it was really just a nice little break from travel for us.

By snp51023 |

This is an ok place for the area. It's not as big as a great wolf lodge but does have many slides, a lily pad, a smaller area for the little ones and and outdoor pool. There is also a gaming room and a restaurant on-site. We just did the day pass, didn't stay in the hotel rooms therefore we have no judgement on the sleeping accommodations. A little disspointed that even though myself and one of my children did not participate in the water activities and didn't get in the water, nor did we ever have intent to, we were still charged the full amount. However, I understand from their point of view as well, but would think they could perhaps offer a discounted entry fee for those not entering the water.

By Michelle M |

We stayed here 2/10/17-2/12/17 and really enjoyed ourselves! Check in Friday afternoon was fast and easy. Our room was spacious and accommodations were clean and well maintained. We had a king bed for my husband and I with a set of bunks for our 6 year old son.
The waterpark was very enjoyable. My son was thrilled to be 46 inches tall and able to enjoy most everything in the park. The lifeguards were attentive from what I witnessed, we didn't play in the pool much, mostly the water slides, lazy river and splash pad. Lifeguards were good about checking heights if appropriate height for ride, which I understand is for my sons safety so although it occurred a lot, I don't mind them doing their job. Other reviews mentioned it was a bit cool in the park, I found the temperature to be what I expected from visits to another waterpark in TN. At first my son and I felt a little awkward running up the stairs past others who were doing the tube slides when we were doing the body slides, but after a few times people realized we were not "cutting" that it is signed that those with tubes should stay to the left, so those doing the body slides can pass by. During busy times there were lifeguards even at the splash pad area making sure kids were safely playing in the slides located there.

The breakfast was very busy, but moved very fast, the staff was very efficient in getting people seated, cleaning tables and keeping the buffet full. We had dinner the first night at the resort, breakfast both days and lunch on Saturday and going the food to be good. We did venture out Saturday evening for dinner and ice cream in town to celebrate Valentine's Day.
We very much enjoyed our stay and will return again.

By Kenny G |

We arrived there and was not able to check in to our hotel until 4pm, this is a hard rule due to a short staff of maids. The suite we stayed in was good with 4 bunk bed and a king bed which was great for my family of six. Breakfast food was good but the long lines show there is a need for expansions or better organization so show up early. The water park was extremely crowded and there was a line for all four of the slides. The organization and lay out seemed confusing, not enough lockers for everyone so again show up early.

By mer4555 |

We came with a two year old and there were many areas that kept him busy. The kiddie pool had swings, water features and a slide. We all enjoyed the last river and the slides. There are several levels of slides including some that you could go down on tubes. It was clean and bright. Breakfast was included in our room price and it was adequate. Staff in all areas were cheerful and accommodating.

By Rosemary L |

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. I would suggest they constantly have staff on the little ones slides. It was inconsistent with the staffing in this area. My grandson is not aggressive and many kids were going around him while he waited his turn. I know it is the parents fault, but when there was a guard there, it was more orderly.
The water park was nice for the little ones. There is not a wave pool at this location. There are 5 big slides, but only one place to go up to them so the line was long.
The rooms were a nice size, but they need a deep cleaning. Bugs were in the ceiling light fixtures and the carpets were not pleasant if you were barefooted.

By mommomv63 |

Big splash was awful the restaurant on site was terrible the food was sub par they offered a comp breakfast which had limited choices. The hotel was outdated and dirty. The staff was less enthusiastic for a venue geared towards children. The restaurant staff were rude and the bartender was our server too! Our food was room temperature when served because he was ding multiple jobs. They were very understaffed and at Christmas time it was a huge disappointment and for the money that it cost was severely overpriced for the service. The rooms were dirty the carpet disgusting the backboards were filthy!!!

Our five year old granddaughter had a wonderful time. As an adult I wish both the water and the facility were warmer. We ended up in the hot tub because we were so cold. The lady at the arcade was delightful and helpful.

By MATTHEW B |

Our family (2 adults and 3 children) enjoyed the water park here, but the hotel itself is left to be desired. If you’re okay with having average tasting food and the constant sound of doors slamming and hearing people run around, then this is the place for you. The breakfast area had a nice selection of food (eggs, cinnamon sticks, pancakes, ham, etc), but the taste wasn’t anything to rave about. The walls are thin and could hear our neighbors next to us and the people above us were heavy walkers to which they constantly woke us up at night with their walking. Our family will return to the water park in the future, but will stay elsewhere for quieter lodging. I do appreciate the area has many different services to offer.

By LBenz07 |

We had a great time at Big Splash. The best part was how much fun our 2 year old had! The only thing that wasn’t fantastic were the arcade games; over half of them were marked out of order. Other than that, it was a fun family weekend get away!

Went here for spring break with a 7 and 9 year old. The water park chlorine was way to strong. I did not swim and my eyes burned they should try bromide it does do the same job but none of the chemical smell of chlorine. As for the rooms my daughter accidentally left her coat just called to see if they could check. Reports are on file for 30 days I am in trusting them to call and let me know and that the staff is more trustworthy then rude. We had to ask for them to clean our room for a 4 night stay.

Will let you know if my child gets her coat back

By Tiffany S |

We stayed here spring break. It was completely sold out. Went to check in, everything went smoothly. Got to our room, the kids were excited to go swimming. We got the 4th floor by the stairs. After swimming the kids were coughing so much. It was really hard to breath and one of my kids got a rash all over her body. The breakfast was good,my only complain was they had water, milk,or oj to drink. My son had to drink water because he is lactose. I did ask someone of there was anything else. She was very rude. All in all it was ok..we won't be back.

By kydiva2005 |

Took the family for spring break. Kids had fun and enjoyed the slides. A lot of chlorine to the point uncomfortable. Galley staff rude and unfriendly when ordering/picking up food. Arcade had out of order signs on more games than working games.

By mommytoo |

My kids had fun, though the experience was somewhat diminished due to the huge crowds, lack of staff and poor maintenance. The credit card machine was not working and we had trouble with the ATM. My daughter asked me why the arcade was so dirty. It was hard to get employees’ attention. They need far more personnel to handle large crowds.

I have been to a lot of waterparks around the midwest and I would say this one is average. Room was nice and spacious.. Beds comfortable. My kids loved the bunk beds. Free breakfast was nice.. average food but I wasnt expecting a gourmet meal. I would suggest getting there early. They only serve from 8-10 and by 8:30-9 there was a very long line to be seated although staff do a good job of moving people through. The waterpark was nice although I agree with some of the other reviewers that it was not well supervised. The water was nice and warm. Plenty of towels for everyone. We did not have any trouble getting chairs but sloppy people leave their towels all over so it appears as someone is using them. Check in was easy.. elevators were freezing. The drive getting there was very pretty. Not much to do in the area and no chain restaurants for miles. Overall we had a nice time.

This was a nice indoor water park. Wish there would have been a few more mid-sized slides for our 8 year old but all of our family had a good time. There were plenty of lifeguards and the lazy river was a hit with all ages!

I visited this water park with a friend, and our four kids, ages 11-19. Most of the kids were "done" within a few hours. They were tired of the lines, and had ridden everything a couple of times. The hotel was decent, but showing wear and tear of the many families who stay here. Breakfast buffet was good, but we had to wait in a long line to be seated. By long line, I mean nearly 30 minutes.
