It's a rare bridge designed for foot (and bicycle) traffic. It's architecturally interesting, curving as it spans the Missouri River, offering great views of Omaha and allowing you to walk from one state into another, as the boundary is in the middle of the span.

It was a beautiful walk and really cool that you can have 1 foot in Nebraska and 1 foot in Iowa. We walked along the trails at the bottom beside the river too.

Walked to CB to watch an outdoor show.
Very cool to have a foot in NE and a foot in IA.
Riverboat passed underneath us.
A must see when in Omaha.

My friend and I went late Saturday afternoon, and it was picture-perfect weather! Lots of people out, but the bridge is wide enough that you aren't crowded. A little congested at the Iowa/Nebraska divide, because everyone wants a photo! There's one on each side, so if you're careful, two groups can take photos at the same time. The walk isn't exhausting (maybe a 15 minute stroll from one side to the other). The park area on the Iowa side was under water so we didn't go down there. On the Nebraska side, there's a lovely area with a water play area with fountains that the kids love to romp in. Nice grassy areas in the shade for relaxing. Loved it!

The Bob Kerrey pedestrian bridge in Omaha is really nice thing to do if your visiting, go at sunset and you really get a good view of the city and the Missouri River, and you can stand in two states at one time.

We enjoyed walking the beautiful bridge and the views of the city and the river were great. Of course, we had to stop at the state lone and take pictures with one foot in each state!

We went at night to see all the lights. It was colorful and quite pretty from afar and when you are on it. It isn’t anything spectacular but it is pretty and a pleasant walk to get there along the river.

Fun, cute, enjoyed seeing various people utilizing this bridge and surrounding areas, rental bikes and other things available.

We walked over the bridge and honestly I thought there be more to the bridge than there was. Don’t get me wrong it is worth seeing. In the middle it has a sign about the river and stuff. We didn’t go at night when it is lit up.

Beautiful views, day or night and a great place to take a walk or pictures. Close to everything, plenty to do within walking distance!

difficult to know what to say - it’s a bridge between Nebraska & Iowa (0.9km). If you take a selfie, you can get a BobtheBridge 0.9km sticker from the tourist office.

a very relaxing place to take a stroll. Great views. Parking was ok, there is construction going on to the south of the bridge so, only way to get there is abbott drive north then south on river front drive. In the late fall, winter and early spring lots of eagles.

This bridge was a cool location. Very clean, playground for the kids, and cool art. It was a nice walk and cool to be in 2 places at once. Definitely recommend.

Had a day off and decided to use the rental scooters to do some sightseeing. We had to visit the bridge so we left the scooters at the base and walked. Beautiful views and a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

My granddaughter (8) and I went to "Bob". She complained about being hot and tired but was purely delighted when I text her mother that I left her in Iowa and went to Nebraska. We went down to the adjacent park and cooled down. We loved the fountains and city park atmosphere. Clean and safe.

Fun to walk the bridge between Nebraska and Iowa. Great scenery and view. It is about .9 mile across, so it is a nice and easy walk both ways across the bridge. Also, great photo opp on the state line - which is clearly marked.

This is a great walk that produces plenty of chances for photo opportunities. Make sure to walk at least to the state line mark in the bridge.

Came here while traveling. The area is very well kept. The bridge is a good, easy walk. Fun to take photos on the Nebraska/Iowa line. There is a really nice visitor center. Go early in the summer before it gets hot.

a great bridge! first time being on it. Love the architecture. pretty sweet that it sways too. very nice area. will go again.

This was a fun little adventure for our group. The views of the Missouri River were wonderful! The design of the bridge is unique which makes it more of a must see. It’s fun to see the line where Nebraska meets Iowa and to stand in both states at the same time. Lots of great walking paths are in the area. A fun little outing especially with smaller kids...let them run off some steam by racing around on the bridge!

There isn't much to do, but the bridge is a nice walk around the convention center neighborhood. We went during the day, but it probably looks really pretty around dusk.

I went there with my friend and it's very interesting that there's an state of suspension bridge that goes from one end of the Missouri River to the other and especially and when you are in two states at the same time.

When it’s not 100% humidity in Omaha, this is a nice walk. I thoroughly enjoyed walking across the Missouri River.

We needed to kill some time before check-in. The boys really enjoyed straddling the two states! It's a long bridge. We only walked to the mid line. There's also a flower garden and splash pad.

It was fun to walk across the bridge and be in two states at one time. Pretty at night. Love all the trails.

Because there are some things that you can't not do! We had to walk it and take the pictures. While doing that, we saw the Lewis and Clark Landing and visited the National Park Service office. It's a cool bridge! What's up, Bob?

Love the view and walk over the bridge I will return during different times of the year to get different view

Enjoyed looking at the river and walking all the way to Iowa
Have enjoyed the walking the bridge at each of the seasons

This is phenomenal. Love the esthetics, design, and the fact that I proved to folks that "Indeed, you CAN be in two places at the same time" You can be in two States at the same time. I'd never known about this attraction before but if I lived there, I'd probably use it every day.

We went to the "Bob" with some out of town friends to see the attraction. It was a nice day, we had a nice walk and we saw the bridge. You get a nice view of the river, the city, TD Ameritrade and the former Quest Center. Access is easy if you have some idea of where you are going. Really it is nothing that special.

Pedestrian bridge about a kilometer long spanning the Missouri River between Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Easy parking access and many riverfront trails on both sides. Fun and different.

Great walk and view of nature, you can rent bikes too. We took pics of our feet on the state lines. the bridge starts in one state end in another . it was fun healthy family activity there is a museum there too but it was closed while we were there as we were there early evening.

What a unique design for a walkway. This was my second time on this trip that I walked from one state to another on a pedestrian bridge over a major river. (walked over Miss River from IL to MO). I must admit the walk up from the river walk and the view were wonderful as I walked over. I did this walk in September and the day was beautiful, however, the wind was brisk so watch your hat. Great photo op here, especially to be in two states at once. Free parking is nearby and of course, the bridge is free.

Beautiful bridge day or night. In the evening it is lit with colorful lights. Great place for travel photo ops. You can take a photo with one foot in Iowa and the other in Nebraska. It gives you a great look out point to see the Missouri River. There are walking- biking trails on the Neb and IA side. Both sides have busy riverfront activity areas. Restaurants, parks, and the bridge is right in downtown Omaha, NE - a few blocks from our wonderful Old Market area.

We walked over the bridge while in town for the college world series. The views were wonderful. The water was high so we couldn't go explore as much on the Iowa side. Great change of pace and outdoor time.

I went here with my teenage daughter and niece. It was a small pleasant distraction to take our minds off of our exhaustion from traveling. We rode bikes and walked the bridge. We also loved the fact we could be in two states at one time.

The bridge is interesting because of the curved design. It's wide enough to walk or ride a bike across. At the end there was a concert and carnival rides set up. Nice at sunset. You cross the state line for Nebraska and Iowa, so you can snap a picture standing in two states at the same time.

Known as "Bob the Bridge", this pedestrian span connects Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA. It is very popular with both walkers and cyclists. The distance is .9 miles each way. Toward the center of the bride one may plant their feet so that one foot is in Nebraska and the other one is in Iowa.

I've been on the bridge four times, once to see it when it opened because it is so neat looking. It's basically a neat looking bridge spanning an area with nothing to an area with less than nothing so if you're in the mood for a walk and you'd like to be over a body of water while doing it, this is the place. For some reason the Omaha side has extremely limited parking, I suppose you are supposed to walk there from Quest or downtown or the baseball field but I don't think that's a great idea because on the other three times I've visited it it has been with guests from out of town..and every single time we've been accosted by someone. Every. Single. Time. Maybe I'm just lucky or just look like someone who needs screamed at and the next time I go it'll be a lovely experience but the time when someone riding a bike on the sidewalk on the way to the bridge stopped to discuss with me and my 2 year old in a stroller that he was "too @#%#$^'ing big" to be in a stroller on the sidewalk" really did it for me. Hard pass on this one, but I'm sure I'll be back since everyone coming from the airport always wants to go to it. For what it's worth, my sample group of visitors have all regretted it and wanted that 30 min of their life back. But hey, it's free.

We made a point to add this pedestrian bridge to our vacation itinerary, and we enjoyed the experience. The kids thought it was cool to stand in two states at once, and the bridge was well maintained. Parking was easy and free at the visitors center, and the entire experience didn’t take very long at all. The view was great as well. We suggest going early in the morning as there is less pedestrian traffic.

Fun bridge and a great place to get out and stretch your legs. If you walk across and take a photo, you can get a fun sticker at the visitor's center! I think it's only a half mile or so across - so it's an easy walk over a pretty area. Definitely stop by if you're in Omaha.

Next to the Durham Museum, this is the second best thing to do in Omaha. Free parking at the bridge. (Need a restroom? Stop at the National Park building and view the limited exhibit on Lewis and Clark.) Beautiful bridge. Great views of the river and Omaha.

This is a relaxing family walk over the river. One of the funnest parts is taking your family picture on the border of Nebraska and Iowa right on the middle of the bridge. A great walk for all and very accessible. Right at the Lewis and Clark National Park too.

I enjoyed visiting Bob the Bridge (when you get there you'll see what I'm talking about). Although this is literally just a bridge, it was still a cool experience to walk through. Both ends also had really cool places to explore (a large green park and a museum). I would recommend going there around sunset as you get to see the bridge and get some good scenic pictures but you also get to enjoy the bridge's lights in all their glory. And you're able to be at two places at once- that's always nice.

This pedestrian bridge stretches across the Missouri River, connecting the States of Omaha and Iowa. As my friend said "the Bob Kerrey Bridge is just a bridge across a river. I found nothing thrilling about it, although I suppose it beats swimming across". I tend to agree with him, although being able to stand in two States at once is worth doing.
Lots of dog poo on the bridge, so you really need to watch you step, and electric bikes travelling at high speed with pedestrians around wasn't great.

Walked from downtown Omaha along the river to this bridge. It was a Thursday afternoon and very quiet.
Nice views and a stunning design and architecture. Nice to be able to walk between 2 states.
When we got to the other side there was nothing to see. The cafe was “closed for a private event” so we just had to walk back.

Very pretty river, rode a rented bike on the bridge. Just a nice walk or bike ride, relaxing to watch the river and see the view of the city too

We visited around sundown and it was the perfect time to go! Although the crowds were big and the bridge was full it was beautiful up there. Seeing it get darker and the lights on the bridge brighten up was so pretty! There are a lot of people on bikes or skateboards so you kind of have to watch out for them especially if you have little ones walking with you.

We enjoyed walking over this bridge on a frosty October morning. There had been flooding so we could safely see the parking lots and parks underwater on the Iowa side. For being 9 am on a Monday morning, it was really dead. We only passed two people the whole time we were there. And of course, our kids loved standing in two states at once.

Great walk across the river. Good views of the riverfront. There is on street parking and a small lot.
There is a park along the River, under the bridge. And the Lewis and Clark trail is nearby.

One of the best pedestrian bridges I have seen. It is in the style of Calvaterri, though much longer than Calvaterri has ever designed. It spans the Missouri and connects the two states. A very pleasant walk to and from.

We rented bikes 🚲 to ride across but there is really nothing on the other side, hopefully they will add some shops, art etc... the views were great and of course it was cool standing in 2 states at one time

Omar the Troll was a fun photo opp. Wished we had more time to walk around. Really like the different color lights along the bridge.

What’s I landed in Omaha? I looked and researched. What’s the best way to get around and the B bike was the best way to do it. They have a nice daily weekly and annual pass so I took the monthly because I was only gonna be here for a week! Enjoyed riding the bike across the bridge a few times beautiful views, beautiful sunrise, and sunset.

A great way to enjoy Omaha! The bridge is beautiful and there is plenty of beautiful space around it as well - a splash pad, city bike rentals, a fountain in a lake with boat rides and lots of green space.

Our family decided to take a walk across this bridge and we really enjoyed it while seeing places near and far! There was a close place to park too.

I love pedestrian bridges and this was a good one. Very well designed and scenic. The lighting at night was amazing. The bridge is approximately 1 mile (one way). I loved getting a shot of having one foot in Iowa, the other in Nebraska. Great views of the river, great views of the city. Parking is nearby. I also saw a bus stop so it seems to be accessible by public transportation.

This is such a peaceful place to go for a walk. I also like the stuff that helps you learn about the Missouri River. Plus Omar the Troll is just kind of fun.

We expected it to be 100 degrees when we visited Omaha the last weekend in July. To our surprise it was in the mid 70's, so we visited the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. It was a very relaxing walk, great scenery, we took awesome pictures and there was a nice breeze. If you are looking for a place to stretch your legs, I recommend you stop here for a nice relaxing walk across the bridge.

It is cool to be able to see the Iowa/Nebraska state line on the bridge. A huge negative was the amount of dog poop as you walked the bridge. They offer poop bags which visitors clearly don’t use. They need someone monitoring pet owners and requiring them to be good citizens for other visitors. Disappointing that people are so inconsiderate of a public tourist space.

Great place to take a walk in a clean area. Some small fountains near by and nice views up and down the river. All this is though is a photo opportunity to take standing in nebraska and kansas at the same time.

We made a stop to the riverfront and stop by the pedestrian bridge. We walk about half of the bridge and stopped where the state line is for Nebraska and Iowa. Beautiful view over the Missouri River.

While on my stay in Omaha I was told about this bridge. Why not go. It was very nice and informative. It begins in one state, crosses the river and ends in another state. On your walk there are pieces of information all along the route. I enjoyed it immensely.

Bob The bridge is fun down on the riverside but on the day we were here it was raining so spoilt it for our walk over the bridge can imagine on a hot sunny day how great it would be. We have done several other pedestrian bridges from one state across to another so it just had to be done !!!
Free attraction with very limited parking. Other parking within a short walk close by.

Very pretty views of Missouri river. Not a long bridge. Fun fact you can walk from one state to another. Middle of the bridge marks border of Nebraska and Iowa. Very pretty park. Great place for kids to get out and run and stretch their legs and stand in two states at one time.

Neat bridge starting at the Lewis & Clark Landing Site (on the Nebraska side). City bike available for rental ($6) and fun to ride across the 3,000’ (.06 mile) foot pedestrian bridge to Iowa. Neat spot on the middle to take pics of the state line.

We visit this bridge every now and then (avoid the winter). It is a good outing, particularly on Friday evenings (especially in summer). Kids will love to bike all over the bridge. The Omaha side is much better arranged, though there is an open amphitheater on the Council Bluffs side. There are also walking and bike trails on both sides of the river. Parking is sufficient, unless there are events nearby (like the ball game and such).
Last but definitely not the least, go a few hours early for a better position to watch the 4th of July fireworks from here; over the river. Even any nearby location is good for the same.

One of the workers at my motel recommended a trip to the bridge for site seeing and for walking. The bridge is a unique design that is interesting and as you walk across the river there is a spot where you can stand with one foot in Iowa and one foot in Nebraska. There are trails that extend at the end of the bridge so it is a good place to take a walk, jog or bicycle ride.

We were visiting the Lewis and Clark center and the bridge couldn’t help but grab our attention. We spend time leisurely strolling across. This area of Omaha is very lovely. Visit it!

The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is a 3,000-foot footbridge (one of the longest footbridges ever built) which spans the Missouri River between Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska, the ONLY bridge to connect two States. It even has its own Vlog site and Twitter account, @BobTBridge. It's an easy (ADA accessible) well lite walk or ride and directly in the middle is an inset brass line designating the transition from Nebraska crossing into Iowa, or visa versa! Closing time is 11pm, but daytime offers the best views of the 'Mighty Muddy Mo' and downtown Omaha skyline. The bridge is north of the Interstate 480 (I-480) girder bridge and connects the Port of Omaha's Miller Landing to One Renaissance Center in the former Dodge Park Playland in Council Bluffs.

Fun walk! It’s like the perfect mix of walking up an incline and then downhill! We enjoyed the view on the Iowa side and rented a bike so my daughter could have a fun ride on the way back. So if you can’t make it back… rent a bike lol

We went and walked “the bob” every day of our trip. It is a nice easy trail great to get some exercise in and connects to a nice park with a big fountain. There is several miles you can walk in the area. So fun that the new tasks Iowa line is there for a picture op. It’s a beautiful bridge and it is very clean. Great family activity.

Well designed, walk able bridge to get from Omaha, NE to Council Bluffs, IA. Parking easily accessible by the bridge, can park at Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Headquarters and Visitor Center and walk over to the bridge start if need be. Very pretty and great for pictures. Easily can visit walk bridge and back in 1-2 hours. Highly recommend if visit Omaha.

Walked across the bridge one night while visiting Omaha. Very cool when it's all lit up and you stand on the border between Nebraska and Iowa. If you do the walk in the late fall/winter, make sure you're bundled up.

It was fun to walk across this cool bridge across the Missouri River and be in another state. It took about 30 minutes round trip and we enjoyed every minute of it. The views from the bridge were really nice and on the Iowa side we saw a bit of wildlife on the shore.

It's a pedestrian bridge that connects Nebraska and Iowa. The bridge spans the Missouri River and provides nice views of the river and of Omaha. It takes about 30-45 minutes to walk across and back.

We were spending too much time in the car driving, and used this 1 km walk from Omaha across the river to Council Bluffs as a nice break. The bridge is beautiful, signage tells about Bob Kerry's desire to have this bridge built, and it is nicely maintained. It was a pleasant walk before driving west in Nebraska.

OK, let’s be frank. This bridge was built as a gift for Bob Kerry however has served a minimal real purpose. It looks nice and crosses over a dark muddy river and while it’s nice to visit it is certainly not something to make an event out of. It’s a bridge!

What a beautiful and breathtaking pedestrian walking bridge for a great morning walk. Wish we were spending a night to see it all lit up. Great history told by plaques throughout the bridge. Enjoy it if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

We stopped off here driving between Aberdeen, SD and St. Louis, MO. It was great to stretch our legs and super fun to say we were standing in two states at the same time. We enjoyed exploring the park on the Iowa side and also spent some time browsing the Trail Center on the Omaha side.

Well worth the walk! After traveling for over seven hours we enjoyed this walk and the views from the bridge. It was windy when we crossed it and could feel a slight sway.

I decided to check out the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge on my first ever visit to Omaha earlier this week. In my opinion, the bridge is well-designed, visually appealing, and makes for an enjoyable walk. The suspension bridge spans the Missouri River and links Omaha & Council Bluffs (you can actually stand in both Nebraska and Iowa at the same time while you're on the bridge). It's definitely a landmark that these cities should be proud to share.
The long ramps leading up to the bridge are very gradual, so it's accessible for people of all ages and skill.
The views are just average from the top of the bridge. A lot of the Omaha skyline is obstructed by the massive & sprawling CHI Health Center, and the Missouri River isn't exactly super scenic at this location.

Well cared for and keeps things in perspective with the size and scale of the bridge and the river. It's always fun being in two states at once as well. Great time!

We enjoyed our walk across the Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge in Omaha. There is a nice NP Service visitor center at the base that had nice displays and helpful rangers. We actually stopped twice—the first day it was really cold and windy for August, so we opted to wait. We returned a couple of days later and had much better weather. There are some lovely views from up on the bridge and it’s fun to get the photo op of standing in Iowa & Nebraska at the same time! Definitely worth a stop for a walk across and back!

I had never been to Iowa so I was able to check another state off my list! The bridge is an easy walk, with plenty of benches (if needed) an information signs posted throughout. There is a water fountain and bathroom on the Iowa side for a quick pit stop before returning to Nebraska. I went early in the morning so the sun rise view over the river was great. A highly recommended excursion. Very close to the convention center/hotels to make for a nice walk/run.

Very nice Friday night. Great History lesson as well as a nice night out with the family. The Food trucks and local band were a PLUS, PLUS!

I live next to the walk bridge. In the summer on the CB side there are tons of stuff going on every weekend. Frkm concerts to sports. Great place for families

This is a fun place to take friends for a unique experience. Great views, and nice paths to walk and enjoy.
Its always fun to be in both states at once, and its a spectacular view of the river.
Worth a visit or three!

This was on my bucket list of things to do while I was visiting my best friend in Nebraska. It was an added attraction since I lived here 28 years ago. Thankyou for this added memory for my amazing trip.

We enjoyed walking across the bridge and back. It's a nice view of the river and city. It's fun to say that you've walked to another state.

LONG bridge between NE & IA over the Missouri River. Great walk but quite the inclines. We didn’t go at night, but probably real nice lit up.
Good for bicycles, too. Free outdoor activity & plenty of parking. Small parks at both ends, too.

This bridge is a wonderful way to spend part of a day in Omaha. It is perfect and large enough for one or for small groups to enjoy at the same time. Great place for photos, a must at the state line between Nebraska and Iowa. Great for walking and running across as either side of the bridge is full of more trails to enjoy. The bridge is lit with a wonderful display of colors, when the sun is down, surely to be enjoyed by all!

The bridge is cool to see but it was closed to pedestrians due to snow and ice which was a bummer. Very pretty though and I got to stand at the look out to see it.

We stayed in Omaha for business and thought we should stretch our legs after a business day! It was a bit breezy and cool but worth the visit. Parking is different and could use more spots at the beginning of the bridge in NE. We did the tourist thing and took pictures of our feet in 2 different states!

This was our last stop before traveling home. Easy parking and access to the bridge. The kids plus adults enjoyed the walk to the Iowa/Nebraska line on the bridge and getting their picture taken while being in two states at the same time. It was a little hot but there was a cute spray park where the girls cooled off while the boys went on Lime-S scooter rides. Would definitely visit again.

Great view but crazy cold. Will return in the spring. I really like the attached Lewis and Clark museum.

Great spot to get a great walk, be in two states and see some great views. Nice unique walk as we explored Omaha! Parking early was easy and the atmosphere was excellent!

Been there 2-3 times and it’s always pleasant to visit there, good place to do cycling on the bridge and nearby areas or take walk to see the beautiful river from the bridge. There are parks and kids play area near the bridge too that are good for spending time with family and near to bridge is beautiful fountain which looks magnificent in Night.

Passing thru Omaha on a road trip, this was a planned stop to stretch our legs. It was hot when we visited, so we took advantage of the benches available near the center of the bridge to enjoy the views. Marked on the ground, mid-way across the bridge, is the state line between Nebraska and Iowa. Makes for a fun photo-op as you straddle the line between states. You can just walk the span of the bridge, or use it as part of a much longer stroll, as it connects to other paved trails along the river. There was a rack of rental bikes just under the bridge too. We used 601 Riverfront Drive for our GPS to park in the Lewis & Clark Visitor Center parking lot. From here it is just a short walk to get a selfie with Omar (the troll under the bridge) and the walk-up ramp for the bridge.

A wonderful way to get a view of the river valley and the big breezes coming out of the valley. Parking on Omaha side was challenging.

We rented bikes there at the base of the bridge and had a great bike ride in Iowa and Nebraska...very clean and well maintained!

The minute you enter, the grass an the amphitheater with families just enjoying the out doors and the vast open space. We started our walk around 7pm (perfect time). This bridge is amazing and the river so big, in the evening the difference color lights light up the bridge and it looked so pretty. I took 100 pics 😂. A must go and see

We went on a hot day but found shade on the Iowa side. A great way to get a good walk in and get good views of Omaha and venture into Iowa.

I love this place it’s great for walking and people watching it’s a really great asset to the entire metro area another don’t miss site in Omaha

This bridge spans the Missouri River, between Omaha and Council Bluffs. You can actually stand in both Nebraska and Iowa at the same time, out in the middle of the bridge. From downtown Omaha, pedestrian access is from the intersection of 10th & Capitol, or you can drive around to the north to get to Riverfront Drive - there's a small parking lot at the bridge, or you can park at the large National Park Service building. The approach to the bridge curves around a splash pad type fountain that is especially enjoyed by the kids.

The bridge is well maintained and easy to access for pedestrians. Great place to take pictures and enjoy a refreshing breeze. At the foot of the bridge on the Omaha side is a splash fountain for kids. Be sure to visit the Lewis and Clark National Parks visitor center. Beautiful facility with lots of great information.

This is a fun short walk across the Missouri river with nice views, crossing the state line Nebraska to Iowa. On a 90 degree day, the bridge was nice and cool due to the string breezes off the river. From there you can walk about a mile or so behind the CHI convention center and reach Capitol Street and the Starbucks by the Marriott, with great AC and staff. The area has great steak restaurants and eats nearby. Although Gilbert's at Marriott was super-packed, I highly recommend the Monarch steak restaurant at the Art Deco hotel. Quiet beautiful atmosphere not crowded at all and amazing deliciously favored Omaha steak! If you have time the Durham museum is the old Union station, gorgeous. But $15 a head and a 1-2 hour visit. Sit in an old railroad car.

We parked in the lot of the National Park Service Building like it says you can online, and walked through the visitor center, out the back doors and up to the bridge. Super convenient and easy! Bridge sways in the breeze, and offers beautiful views!

This is a great place to take the family. Once on the bridge you can stand in Iowa and Nebraska. There is also a museum on the grounds that is interesting

A must-see. Beautiful pedestrian bridge spanning the Missouri river between Omaha and Council Bluffs. Nice views, fun experience!

A really beautiful, sweeping, pedestrian bridge across the Missouri River to connect Iowa and Nebraska. It's so nice when utilitarian structures are also considered from an aesthetic standpoint. Walked across to Iowa, very windy at the top and loud due to the clanging cables, but a great experience. Stop at the National Park headquarters under the bridge to learn more about the area and get a National Parks Passport cancellation stamp!

Great place to visit with friends and family. Make sure that you walk to the Iowa side and look at Omaha’s little Skyline from there. Can be a bit crowded but not too bad. Should be great for an hour to two hour visit. Also check out Lewis and Clark landing near by. And also the heartland of America park while in the area.

Just Wow! This bridge is really beautiful and a nice walk across the Missouri River, from Nebraska to Iowa. Fun to be able to step into two different states on the bridge.

Take a stroll across the Missouri River. Enjoy the scenery and check out the Omaha Skyline .. ride the bicycles provided for rent take the baby stroller put on your jogging shoes and put the kids on their bicycles it's a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon

We stopped in Omaha on our way out west. Visited this pedestrian bridge which joins Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa. We were there early evening on July 4th so there were several people walking around the area and on the bridge. Very nice walk and worth the visit. Neat photo opportunity of standing in both states at the same time.

Be in two states on the same trip - the Missouri River marks the border between Nebraska and Iowa.
Took 15 minutes to cross. No refreshments available either end of the bridge (the Pavilion on the Iowa side was closed for a private event) so bring your own water bottle.
Also there's a bit of construction on the waterfront so a number of paths leading to the bridge were closed.
Interesting informational panels about the Missouri River ecology were surprisingly interesting to read.

What a neat bridge! It is .9 of a mile across and offers a great view of both cities. The area around the bottom of the bridge on either side had ice cream vendors and things for kids to do.you can also stand in 2 states at once. Very neat experience.

We walked across on the hotest day of the year, it was still fun. Then we went back about 10pm to see it lighted, well worth the construction mess to see it in the dark.

Good place to get some cardio in during the day time. We've been to a few cool events on the Iowa side. Taste of Omaha is overpriced and overrated to bother with when they have it here. I'd stay away from the Omaha side at night too. Seems like every degenerate in Nebraska uses this place to find trouble after dark.

A beautiful bridge that straddles the “might Mo” - Missouri River from Omaha, NE to Council Bluffs, IA with informative signage about local flora/fauna. A great way to observe the river and people watch.

You can get to this bridge from either the Council Bluffs side or the Omaha side. I tried the Council Bluffs side. There is a nice green space but there is a LOT of walking to do before you get out over the actual river so we drove over to the Omaha side and I was so glad we did! It was HOT AS BLAZES on the June night we were there (still felt like 100 degree outside at 8pm!). We found a parking spot in a small loop off Riverside Drive, near the Lewis and Clark NHT building. There are porta potties right there in the parking lot.
We walked up the hill towards the bridge and low and behold, A SPLASH PAD! It was like the gods were smiling down on us, I let my kids run around in their clothes and there was so much happiness. A woman with a small cart sold us some Gatorade and cold water and my entire day was saved :)
When they'd cooled off enough, my two six year olds easily walked to the middle of the bridge. We stood with one foot in Iowa and one foot in Nebraska and the kids got a huge kick out of that. The views up there were so lovely! There were so placards too, to help you learn a little :)
This was such a great spot to watch the sun sink down. It was honestly five minutes off I-80, it would be a super easy stop on a road trip if your crew would like this sort of thing. We loved it!

Who doesn't like to have your body positioned in 2 states at the same time! Make sure to visit the NPS Lewis and Clark Museum at the base of the bridge! Well worth it!

Bridge is named “ Bob “ and connects Iowa and Nebraska . Cable suspension bridge that can be felt swaying . Grab a cable and you can feel the vibrations .

We read about bobtbridge in our hotel and i had also seen it on a travel channel. We enjoyed visiting bob, who is a suspension bridge over the Missouri river. If you visit Bob's website he will tell you all about himself. In the middle of the bridge you can put one foot in Iowa and one in Nebraska, lots of selfies taken here.

Pretty nice bridge that connects Iowa with Nebraska. Fairly easy walk and the area surrounding it is also nice. Has a little fountain for kids to play in also.

We took the dogs out for a walk while we were in the area and decided to take them halfway across the bridge. Cool views and a lot of people recreating. Not sure I'd go again but might as well give it a shot if you're in the area.

This pedestrian bridge stretches across the Missouri River, connection the Omaha and Iowa states.
Only pedestrians and bikes are allowed and it is a great experience to cross the bridge from where we can enjoy excellent views of the Omaha skyline. We visited here two times, on a sunny day and in a nice scenic evening.
A visit to Omaha must include a walk across the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, it looks truly spectacular with beautiful lighting in evening. At the bottom side, we took the river trail for ½ mile south along to the large “Labor” monument featuring water lines, beach areas with lot of recreational activities for the public of all ages.

This is a must to visit, you can walk across the bridge and stand with 1 foot in Nebraska and 1 in Iowa. It is a short walk across the bridge into Iowa. The Nebraska side has a lovely visitors center worth a visit.

It's a bridge in the middle of nowhere with nothing really exceptional to see, close to nothing and not within walking distance of anything

Very fun way to visit two states! The bridge itself is really pretty with nice views. The landscaping in the area is nice too

It is a nice family place, you can stand in Nebraska and Iowa at the same time. There are a lot of information paintings along the bridge, and it is neat to see.

Nice to walk over and back, they have really improved it since I’ve been last, great views of the city and the river.

Had a fun time walking the bridge to Iowa then back. Sure is hot in July though, hats and sunscreen are a must. Was fun to play in the water works after.

Rented a city bike which I thoroughly recommend, and cycled around the city and over the Bob Kerrey bridge into the State of Iowa to explore the trails in either direction along the banks of the Missouri. Only able to ride a couple of miles in each direction due to recent flooding and very thick gooey mud unfortunately hindered progress! Amazing wildlife saw several deer along the trail.

Beautiful views and easy walk/run across the river. We always enjoy walking across the pedestrian bridge.

The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge spans the Missouri River, joining Nebraska and Iowa. It is part of an extensive river front walking trail system. It also connects with Omaha’s Old Market, which features numerous quaint restaurants and bars, as well as a variety of unique stores.

Enjoyed the walk across the bridge. The views are very nice. We went on a Friday evening before sundown and the parking lot at the National Park Service building was full of people smoking and drinking and blaring loud rap music. Broken glass bottles and trash was everywhere. We were happy to not get a flat tire.

This was a very nice walk. There are some really great views. You can ride your bike or walk your dog. Let the kids enjoy themselves there is an Iowa/ Nebraska line so you can stand in both states if you want

This pedestrian bridge was built with walking in mind. The bridge is feed by walking trails from both the Neb and Iowa sides of the Missouri River that it spans. The bridge has lots of attractive signage and a line in the middle of the bridge that marks the border between the two states so you can have one foot in Nebraska and the other in Iowa (kids love this). Locals out exercising use the bridge regularly but for tourists it is very accessible and is right next to the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center and Heartland park so it is easily accessible in conjunction with other riverfront attractions. Great views of Omaha from the Iowa side of the bridge.

Definitely take the time to see this. Walk out over the river and see two states at an interesting landmark. Two thumbs up. If you don't want to walk, you can rent a bike right at the foot of the bridge!

The gardens and sculptures around this bridge are pretty. It's also fun to be halfway between two states over the water. The bridge looks pretty cool. I thought this sounded like a nice activity for my family to do during our stay.
However, from the top of the bridge the scenery is not very good. The area is fairly industrial. On our way to the bridge we had quite a few people stare at us. One car followed us and yelled racial slurs. On our walk across a parking lot to the bridge there was a girl threatening to beat up a woman pushing a stroller and her husband for looking at her boyfriend.
The area felt unsafe and I would not return. We experienced similar encounters throughout our time in Omaha. In the morning we heard on the news that there were three shootings, which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with this attraction, but it does show how this area might feel unsafe.
I didn't expect that when I planned this family visit and activity.

If it seems too long. It's not. Sculpture on the Iowa side. Omar the troll on the Nebraska side. Bike or walk across. You can feel the bridge move when you stop walking, but I'd you keep moving you don't notice it.

After 400 people in front of us in line at the college World Series game we looked for something to do and found this great park. A beautiful night and such wonderful views. They rent bikes, there were street vendors selling ice cream and people just walking and enjoying themselves. I absolutely loved it! My photos were taken between 8:15 and 9:00pm. You can actually see the stadium from the bridge- thought that was neat.

It Was a pretty awesome walk but it’s windy the further you get to the middle so bundle up. There are bikes for rent at each end if you want to bike it.

Fun place to go. A little over a mile to walk across and back. Handicap accessible. Cool looking at night with all the lights.

Was a very nice walk across the Missouri River, despite the flooding. If you visit the Omaha area it is something fun to do.

The bridge is a good walk and a fun way to experience the Missouri River and a suspension bridge (you can feel it bouncing a little). The Nebraska-Iowa line is marked on the bridge so pedestrians can stand in both states simultaneously. Don’t miss the NPS Visitor Center and its exhibit on Lewis and Clark’s landing.

Wife and I enjoy the “BOB”. Parking near by and it’s an easy 1.9 mile hike. The view of the riverfront and Missouri River is relaxing. The bridge connects Nebraska and Iowa and in the middle of bridge you can have a foot in both states. This fall when the leaves change colors it will be spectacular.

I walked across this bridge with my son and daughter. It was pretty fun, particularly taking a picture of them straddled across the state line, which crosses the bridge. Other than that, there is nothing all the special about the experience. Its a nice, peaceful walk, and you get a pretty good view from the span across the coast of the city. Ample free parking as well.

Stopped by the bridge to waste some time before our flight. It is an amazing structure and pretty walk. We saw some wild turkeys on the Iowa side.

Fun stop on your Omaha itinerary. We suffered to find a place to park but we did just as dusk was setting and it seemed like the perfect time to visit.

Parking was free. We rented the electric bikes, which was fun. One of the bikes didn't have the electric battery, wish she would have checked for the battery before renting the bike. Not something we were thinking about, I would suggest just checking for the battery before you rent.

The bridge is a decent walk, but be sure to bring water and use sunscreen if you go during the day. It was relaxing watching the river flower under the bridge and was cool to stand at the spot that showed where Nebraska and Iowa meet.
There is a Lewis and Clark museum on the property as well with a few items to look at and mall gift shop.
I would have loved to do this walk at night as I hear it is gorgeous with the lights lit up, but we were in town for only a few hours.

Absolutely loved walking this bridge during my lunch outing.
Many walkers, runners, and bicyclists shared the bridge with me, to include families with small children.

We headed to the Bob Bridge to take in Omar the Troll who is lurking under the bridge. We parked nearby within walking distance and had a short walk over to the bridge to see the troll. Then we decided to walk the pedestrian bridge since it spans Iowa and Nebraska, and you can actually stand in both states on the bridge. It is a beautiful bridge with great views of the Missouri River.

nice histroy lesson. lewis and clark exibit. walk to the center of the bridge. stand with one foot in iowa and one in neb. no snacks, bring your own.

Taking a Bike Ride over the Bridge and following the Bike trails makes for a wonderful afternoon. The Bridge gives riders a beautiful view of the Missouri River. We parked on the Nebraska side and rode over to Iowa and the trails over there and back over the Bridge. The trails do not have many hills and riding along the rivers edge is pretty and peaceful though there were other riders and walkers. I only wish there was more to see on the Iowa side of the trail but it goes by the Casino but we wanted someplace more casual cause we were dressed in biking attire.

Wonderful place for a Stroll! We enjoyed the scenery immensely. We walked from Nebraska to Iowa over the Missouri River in less than a mile! There was a bald eagle nesting in a tree in the distance to boot!

If you enjoy walking, then take the time to walk from downtown to this bridge. The bridge structure is unusual and interesting. You can view downtown from it. And you are crossing state lines without having to exert yourself! :)

The walk to this bridge along the Missouri River is fantastic. The view once on the bridge is even better. Known as "The Bob" there are little plaques along the way giving you some info and history about the bridge and area. And who can resist straddling the Nebraska/Iowa state line in just over the crest of the bridge?

In May, we walked over the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, when visiting Omaha, for the Creighton Medical School graduation.
Unlike our previous walks, this was a bit different, in that the Missouri River was already beyond its banks. Now, that did not affect how beautiful the bridge was, but it was a different look, down below.
Still, an architecturally significant, and lovely bridge, and should be walked

Located in downtown Omaha, this bridge spans across the Missouri River from Nebraska into Iowa. It is 3,000 ft long or 0.9K in marathon terms. They even give you a sticker with that if you document your trek and show it at the Omaha Visitor Center on Farnam Street. You can take selfies and tag the bridge on Twitter #ithappensonBob. The bridge also has Instagram and Twitter handles @BobTBridge. There is a large parking lot on the Omaha side we parked at.
We went at night so I couldn’t read the informational signage as well but we were on part of the Lewis and Clark trail it seemed. They also have an interesting troll who lives beneath the bridge named Omar. He’s travelled a lot and settled on this place as his home. You can read all about his story at OMARtheTroll.com which is cool. But at night he was a little intimidating. I could see a young child having nightmares. It was a little windy up on the bridge. But still so romantic. There were quite a number of people walking across.
The bridge is lit up by led bulbs and they have ones which are a hybrid of colors which was unique to me. At the top there are slotted lights of different colors. It was very pretty. We didn’t walk all the way down on the Iowa side as it looked dark and lonely. There seemed to be a park of sorts down that end which you could walk to the river’s edge at. We saw a couple of people down there but most of the other walkers seemed to have parked on the Nebraska side. It was such a lovely walk. Would recommend it. Watch your hats and wear a jacket in case it’s cold from the wind.

One of the things I wanted to do for my birthday was walk across the Bob Kerry bridge. We walked in the evening and it was beautiful!

Very nice walking or biking area. It was fun bobbing. Walk the bridge and you will fing out what that means.

Always love coming to Omaha. First time to walk the Bridge and was meet by two groups of school children on a field trip who provided a wealth of information about the river, the bridge and the best place to get ice cream. OPS students with manners and was amazed to see them picking up trash left by others. The bridge was wide and an easy walk with places to stop and sit. Learned about wildlife in the area and stopped at the Lewis and Clark building and enjoyed a quick historical movie. Great way to spend an hour in Omaha.

This was recommended by someone who had visited Omaha recently, and I am glad we went. It was fun to walk and see the river and stand in 2 states at the same time.

Top spot for a walk and for photography. Great views of the river and Omaha. Not too crowded. Highly recommend. Will return.

We walked across the Bob Kerry Bridge in September 2019. It was hot, but the breeze over the Missouri River was cool. We explored the Music Venue on the Iowa side, then returned across the Bridge to Nebraska. Our dogs splashed in the water jet playground and cooled off. It was a really nice walk and day.

Checking out this pedestrian bridge over the Missouri was time well spent with family during our family reunion in Omaha. It’s an interesting walk for sure from Omaha, NE, to Council Bluffs, IA. With the wind blowing, you could feel the bridge moving! I bet this place is a lot prettier during the summer when the grass is green and the flowers and trees have shared their colors with us. Be on the watch for Omar... the local troll! He might appear when you least expect it! The state line between Nebraska and Iowa is marked on the bridge as you cross the river. Be sure to get your photo here! It doesn’t count that you were here unless you get your photo. Haha!

love this downtown attraction visited after dark and got to see all of the wonderful buildings and the lights surrounding this wonderful place.
if you want to be in 2 places at once take a walk on the JKPB and you can stand in Iowa and Nebraska
great place to take someone for a cheap evening out

Pretty nice. But it's length is deceptive. It takes quite a while to actually cross all the way over. Since there are now scooters nearby. We wondered if it was allowable to use a scooter on it. We did see people biking across so I suppose that's ok. But better check with authorities first.

Walked this bridge with my kiddos in the mid-evening hours around 8/8:30. Foot traffic was actually pretty steady, though people were still trying to keep decent distance from each other. The views were fantastic, from each side of the river and a great open air theater overlooking the river as well.

I loved this 3,000' long bridge which allowed me to walk from Nebraska to Iowa and back. The view over the Missouri River was gorgeous, and parking was free. I could sit on one of the benches and watch the river all day long.

Nice walk. The kids enjoyed the idea of being in two states! Beautiful views. The bridge was a little shaky on the Iowa side!!

I learned about this here on Trip Advisor, and I'm so glad we stumbled upon it. We've been to Omaha before, and were looking for some of the "off the beaten path" type activities. This one definitely fit the bill.
We parked at the Lewis & Clark NPS location to access the bridge. There is plenty of great landscaping around the bridge entrance, including a small fountain for kiddos to play in. Plenty of native grasses and flowers line the area.
The bridge itself is 0.9K, so probably around 1/2 mile from one side to the other. There are also photos of native animals in the area as well as fish in the river. About halfway to Iowa is the NE/IA state line. Great for pictures.
There are a few spots with benches along the bridge if you need a breather. There were plenty of people with their dogs while we were there.

This bridge was awesome! The view is amazing and a great place to watch the sunrise and to see at night with all the beautiful lights. You can be in Nebraska and Iowa at the same time!

A very nice walk in the early morning hours during the summer, and I can imagine it's a beautiful walk all day and night long during the spring and fall. Very clean and very well maintained. Great for running, jogging or just walking.

It's a bridge over the river. Great if you want to watch the river flow. Pretty much goes from nowhere to nowhere unless you're walking the trails. Usually pretty windy up there so be prepared.

This is a nice walking bridge but not worth the hype in my opinion. Walking there from downtown took longer than walking across the bridge. There is a nice view of skyline from bridge.

Enjoyed it all but if we must pick one ..🤔
We'd have to say the Bridge itself the changing colors at night with the back drop of Omaha City was beautiful.
Definitely worth seeing , including walking around the Park on both sides once off the Bridge.

Fun to walk across the river & also learn a bit about the history of the river in the Omaha area. I was impressed with the conservation efforts!

A nice walk to Iowa and in the way back it's a great view of downtown. You can even stand in both states at once.

It was a nice little walk to take at night when it's lit up. The parking situation wasn't bad and it was free.

We had been to visit this bridge when my daughter was very young and 6 years later we are in town again and it was one of the top places she wanted to visit. She is especially fascinated with the Iowa/Nebraska state line know the bridge. It has a neat design and good view of the dirty Missouri River. But not something we see out in the PNW.

Kudos to the PR for making this bridge seem like it's as beautiful as the Golden Gate Bridge or it's an amazing engineering feat like the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel Bridge. It's a single purpose bridge that allows pedestrians to cross safely across the river.

Nice attraction for all ages. Walk over the river, stop in the visitor center, see the sculptures. Kids have a splash fountain. Newer area, very clean.

When the weather is nice this is a great spot to walk between Nebraska and Iowa. There are interactive projects for people along the way and the dividing line between the two states is marked on the bridge. You can park at National Park Service parking lot if needed.

A great, easy walk from one state to another with a great photo opportunity at the state line. We were looking for something to do to kill time before heading to the airport and this was perfect. The museum had interesting artifacts and the people were friendly. Definitely a great spot to enjoy seeing the river.

Getting off Amtrak train at 5 AM, Omaha was not exactly a welcoming city. I found this bridge and walked over to the casino district in Council Bluffs where my motel was. Between the bridge and the motel was recently submerged riverfront park land. Before sunrise, this beautifully lit bridge was a welcome sight for a weary traveler.

Nice getaway alone or with friends. Very sensual and beautiful. Attracts people from all over. As by any river, or any for that matter, you must be careful because there’s strange people hanging around as well.

This modern design bridge and nearby high-rise building with good river views are real alternative to those who chose renovated old buildings in old town Omaha. Good place to walk, jog or take some pictures at stateline on the bridge. Parking is limited but if full, can try visitor center or other nearby places.

My family and I have stopped going here because there is very little police presence. The previous time we have visited we were almost run over twice by skateboarders and speeding bicycle riders. There was a gentleman sprawled on the ground sleeping. I did not feel safe and it was the middle of the day with lots of people around.
It is pretty at night from the distance but there is no way I would go there after sunset. Some unsavory types have set up shop and hardly no police presence has unfortunately made this attraction off limits. I believe the Omaha side of the bridge is better as both times I have been there Omaha police were in the area, not so much on the Council Bluffs side.

Fun easy walk across the Missouri River. I enjoyed the informative signs along the way. I recommend against this walk in extreme wind- motion sickness a possibility.

We walked the bridge form Nebraska over to Iowa and back on a warm evening. It was a really nice walk. The bridge has a very gradual rise so it almost feels flat. Plenty of story boards and plaques on the bridge to tell you about the bridge, wild life, area, etc. Of course you can get a selfie standing in both states. My only concern on the Nebraska side is that there is minimal parking. Really got lucky and someone was pulling out as we were pulling in.

Drive into town and did this walk first thing to get out of the car and move around a bit. This is a great walking bridge. Would recommend it. Only took about 10-15 minutes.
If you get hot, there are some zero depth water pools to splash/walk through.

We walked across the bridge from Omaha to Council Bluffs, over the Missouri River. It was fun to stand on the state line mark, with one foot in Nebraska and in one Iowa. There were beautiful sunflowers on the banks of both sides.

Giving a commanding view of the river, it is a scenic bridge but also obviously a huge waste of b public money as it leads nowhere interesting on the Iowa side.

We walked on the bridge from Iowa to Nebraska. It looks beautiful and you can step in two states at once. The lights are very unique as well.

It's such a nice place. It's in a very good location with a wonderful view of the Missouri River! I went here multiple times, and absolutely loved it! It's amazing at night when it is all lit up!

Be sure to get a photo op on the state line. We walked at sunset, so the temperature was lovely. There’s not much shade, so I would be cautious about going earlier.

This is a great pedestrian bridge even if it is named after Kerrey. It does a good job of connecting running trails between NE and IA.

Gotta be honest, we have been bypassing Omaha for more than 30 years in our journeys from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Denver, Colorado. This time, we got a late start in Denver so we stayed over a night in Nebraska and stopped along the way to see a few of the sights. Oddly, we drove to Denver across the northern part of South Dakota and viewed sights of the Lewis & Clark Expedition which was responsible for mapping and exploring the Western United States via a trip up the Missouri River which also flows through Omaha (your history lesson is now complete, lol). On our way home, we stopped here at the bridge to see the troll which is on its little troll house underneath the west end of the bridge. We were very surprised to see what an up-and-coming city Omaha is with lots of freeway construction in this area, the new Bob Kerrey Bridge, new apartments and public spaces. There is a Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center which we were unable to visit as we had our dog with us (it is also on the west end of the bridge). The east end of the bridge is in Council Bluffs, Iowa and has some sculptures as well as park spaces sprinkled with apartments and office buildings. Both sides of the bridge are very new areas and we also felt very safe there. We did not walk the bridge as it was hit that day and we were not dressed for it, but it appeared to be about a half mile walk one way. It’s a gorgeous place with many hotels within walking distance. Put your walking shoes on for this experience and allow more time than you would think.

On the Omaha side, don’t forget to stop in at the National Park Service and visit the Lewis and Clark exhibits. The interpretive rangers are knowledgeable, professional, and fun! Definitely a kid-friendly place! BTW, this is a free exhibit — your tax dollars at work!

Beautiful, flat winding concrete trails along both sides of the Missouri river give bicycles, walkers, skate boarders, and those of us using electric mobility scooters a beautiful view of Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Well worth the stop!

Fun sights as you and family walk across the Missouri river. Enjoyable for all ages. If you are short of time just go halfway to the "state line".

unique up close look at the river and river front explore the interesting things to see From Lewis and Clark landing in Nebraska a short walk across to Tom Hanifinn Park in Iowa

Its a good place to take the kids. They can watch boats go by and get some excersize. Its a place of Omaha where most people dont go so its nice to see different scenary. You can walk to the casinos from here if you so choose.

Nice walk across the river. It was worth a quick visit. The walk is long if the sun is out. The bridge curves like a 'S' and is quite scenic when seen from below. However the highlight of the bridge is that it has a line drawn in between which divides Iowa State from Nebraska and serves as a good photo opportunity.
The river is average but another unique thing about the bridge is a witty series of posters which tells the autobiography of 'Bob' the bridge. There is also a fountain at the river shore which is fun for kids to take a splash in the heat.

A lovely place to visit and enjoy the scenery; was nice to spend time outdoors. It's bike friendly, pedestrian friendly, family oriented. Easy parking

This 3,000 foot-long footbridge connects Nebraska to Iowa with a marked line for a photo op with one foot in each State. This is a National Park Service property - who knew? - with a developed park on each side of the bridge. This is a must-see for visitors to Omaha and is easily accessed by parking at Miller’s Landing. A round-trip walk over the Bridge and back is about 10,000 steps. There is a ramp on either side for disability access, strollers or bicycles. Bird Scooters are nearby, but not permitted on the Bridge itself. The Council Bluffs side boasts a large open park with rows of deciduous trees, a tall steel sculpture and a light show at night that can be viewed best from the Bridge (the park is open, but the light show is cancelled due to covid-19). The Omaha side has the Heartland of America park which is under construction and inaccessible in 2020. At night, the Bridge is beautifully lit up making this an integral part of the downtown Omaha skyline. Best views are on the bridge itself, however, in the summer months consider a River City Cruise to see it from underneath. A great half-day activity for families, couples, walking buddies, safe for singles.

We went there on Saturday night and it was VERY busy. There was a concert going on and the bridge was busy with bikers and walkers. Only issue we saw was parking can be scarce.

Neat view of Omaha and Council Bluffs, as well as Missouri River. Well lighted and safe area for families.

This is a fun walk with lovely views of the Missouri River. There were lots of people enjoying the bridge and grounds.

This pedestrian bridge is great to walk from Nebraska into Iowa over the Missouri River. It moves gently in the wind, but is an enjoyable experience. There are plaques along the way with interesting facts about the bridge. You can also rent a bike or ride your own across the bridge.

If you are in Omaha take this stroll. It’s a great place for a morning run destination or an evening walk. On Friday evenings, there is free music and vendors. You can straddle the state line on the bridge!

This bridge is a nice little walk that connects Nebraska and Iowa. There's a neat line on the bridge where you can stand in two states at the same time.

This is one of those look don't touch attractions. Between wind, bugs, skateboards, bikes this is not a good walking excursion. You walk over the bridge, look at water, walk back. Better off to hit Lauritzen Gardens for a walk or one of the other great walking trails in Omaha area.
I'm thinking this money could have been better spent building more bike trails throughout the city.

We drove in from the Omaha side and if you type in the official address, it takes you to a small parking lot but if it’s full, you can just drive down another block or two and park in a much bigger lot used for the National Park Service building.
For the bridge itself, it doesn’t take that long to cross and while they make a big deal of the Iowa/Nebraska border, the markings on the floor are pretty faded so they need to fix that. Also, there were a few signs for suicide prevention and one spot with a bunch of flowers, so I guess there have been one (or more) incidents here so that definitely will damper your mood.
As you go towards Council Bluffs, there isn’t much picture worthy but as you go back to Omaha, you can get some nice views, including the stadium where they host the College World Series.
Overall, it’s something you do once to check it off your list but wouldn’t probably go back unless I needed to hit my step goal.

Usually on Friday nights there's live music at the foot of the bridge. People gather and sit on grassy knolls to eat, listen to music, and just visit with each other. If the weather I'd not too hot, this is a great little diversion. The bridge itself goes to "nowhere"...meaning the Iowa side is not yet developed enough to made it worthwhile for anything other than a small walk where the best part is in the middle of the bridge watching the river itself and the occasional boats passing by.

The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge was a fun and interesting spot. Bridge is beautiful when lighted at night. City scape makes great photos. There are electric bikes and scooters on site for rent.

This is a beautiful bridge and it was a lot of fun for my kids to be in two states at once. Our family raced to see who could get to Iowa first.

We are locals and like to go walk the bridge in the evenings. We can take our dog and it’s plenty wide that people walking and bicyclists can comfortably enjoy at the same time. The people on the bridge are friendly and we have met people from all over the world.

This was my second walk over the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, with the first being in May, 2016. We are in Omaha every May (except for 2017), and stay, only a short distance from the bridge.
When we arrived in Omaha, the Spring weather was gorgeous, however, when I had time to explore, the weather had turned cooler, gloomy and windy. Still, the Bob Kerrey Bridge provides great views, regardless of the weather – I just wish that I had been able to take this stroll, the day before!
Besides the views, the bridge, itself, is a beautiful piece of engineering, and I have designed bridges (or at least the bascule sections of some) before. Whether one walks it, or just observes it from the shore, it is worth the time to visit. Lovely, convenient, and worth the stop.

A little hot for walking but the photo ops were well worth it. Bring water if you go in the summer. There are no facilities nearby.

The welcome center is great. You can get a photo emailed to yourself. The walk is beautiful and under 2 miles. Water fountain for kids to play in.

I love to go in the evening when it is a bit cooler and the color lights are on, I often stop and just watch the river flow by.

This bridge is so cool! We parked at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center. There was no charge for parking or access to the bridge. Our GPS device did not lead us to the bridge. I would recommend setting your GPS for the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, park there, and walk to the bridge. This bridge is only for walking and biking- no cars. It is a twisted bridge over the Missouri River. You can stand with one foot in Iowa and the other foot in Nebraska. The border line is marked on the bridge with the states labeled. We spent about 45 minutes total parking, walking, taking photos, and then using the restroom at the visitor's center. The view is pretty, and the river is mighty. People of all ages would enjoy this, but it involves a lot of walking. I would love to go at night. There are huge lights on the bridge. Look for the huge white suspension bridge!

This is a great bridge. It was a bit of an effort to find it though and quite a walk to get to it. Lovely views of the river.

This was a great place to take the family after playing on a baseball tournament all week and the NCAA College World Series games downtown. Explain to the kids how the bridge was built and designed. It is a good experience and education for family and friends as well. One of the workers at my hotel recommended a trip to the bridge for site seeing and for walking. The bridge is a unique design that is interesting and as you walk across the river there is a spot where you can stand with one foot in Iowa and one foot in Nebraska.

This is a beautiful modern bridge. It was quite striking at night, with the bridge lit up and a view of the river and the Omaha skyline. There is also the novelty of being in two states at once. The walking path seemed nice.

The Nebraska Marathon races take you over this bridge. Have your camera ready- it’s quite scenic, very pretty. Halfway across you’ll see a Nebraska/Iowa sign on the concrete denoting that your crossing state lines. Beautiful run!

The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, known as “The Bob” spans the Missouri River between Nebraska and Iowa. We didn't actually cross the bridge, but we did enjoy the water fountain/splash pad at the base of the Nebraska side of the bridge. It was a refreshing break after a hot day at the Henry Doorley Zoo. It was free, and fun, but, it was hard to find because it isn't visible from the road, and we only knew about it because of a picture of the Bob. The splash area could benefit from a canopy over some of the seating to provide some shade.

Took a reflective leisurely walk on a particularly lovely fall day. The bridge is particularly unique and somehow opens my mind to creative thought. A lot of new development on the Iowa side. Great place to leave the phone in the car and enjoy the views.

We went on a sunny day and it was a nice walk. We took the strollers as our kids are little and they enjoyed the view from the bridge. Its kind of cool walking into one state and back again on foot. It was pretty windy so I think on a cold day it would be rather unpleasant. But amazing view of Omaha from the Iowa side.

The Bob Kerry pedestrian bridge between Omaha and Council Bluffs. Is a fun walk with magnificent views of the Missouri river. You can be in 2 atates at once!!
Both cities have events that are fun. They have recently upgraded the lights to
neon. The Omaha side has a fun spray park for little ones. Also, summer has concerts bridge beats! The national park service has a building with a history of Lewis and Clark expedition. Go, enjoy and relax!!

It looked so appealing from the photos and especially connecting two states. Motor vehicles aren't permitted on the bridge and only open to foot traffic. It's quite a stroll because it's a bit of an incline but it's good for any joggers, bicyclists or just walking a dog. It's a lot of fun because there's parks on both sides of the bridge. Like the fact it spans the Missouri River with Omaha on the west side and Council Bluffs on the east. The thing I really like the most is the way the bridge is designed like a suspension cable strayed. I'd bet it would look really sharp when lit up at night.

This pedestrian bridge is a great walk on a nice day. I love the peaceful tranquility of it, and the views were even better. The Iowa side is a little lacking compared to what will soon be on the Omaha side when the rest of the Riverside Park opens, but it still offers great views of downtown Omaha.

Great trip. We arrived at approximately 5 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the bridge. There were several informational plaques located throughout the bridge, that detailed the importance of the Missouri river. The walk was relatively easy, and consisted of walking on a flat, even surface. We were able to see views of the river, along with several buildings in the distance. The walk was just over half of a mile.
Tip: I recommend spending 30 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.

If you’re strolling around town working off a nice dinner in the Old Market, definitely take a trip to the bridge. Nice viewed all around and you get to cross into Iowa.

We walked to the bridge area, it has a great courtyard type space to sit and relax. The bridge itself is large and fun to walk on. It’s neat you can stand on the line that divides Nebraska and Iowa.

I was stuck, without a vehicle, at a nearby hotel so this was a needed exploration spot. A quick video about Lewis and Clark’s Expedition at the National Parks exhibit then a walk over the bridge. Halfway across they had marked over the Missouri River where it becomes Iowa. Great walk and a beautiful area. Worth your time.

We enjoyed the walk arcoss the bridge. Both sides have green space and walking paths to enjoy exercise and nature. We even walked along the river to The Old Market District in Omaha. Bike rentals available. Free parking on Nebraska side available at the visitor's center, small lot near the birdge entrance and near Lewis & Clark Landing. Restrooms at Visitor's center and Port O Pots near entrance of bridge.

This was a fun stop for my husband and I. We needed a break from driving and this offered a place to stretch our legs. It was fun to stand in 2 states at the same time. Don’t forget to visit Omar the Bridge’s Troll

This is a beautiful view of the area. It makes you feel like you are in a different place. No matter what time of year you choose to go, it is a great time to go. It is a place that calls you away. If you are with another or with a group, you will love it. If you are faint of heart, don’t care for the height, please don’t go. You are high up and it is breezy. If you enjoy this atmosphere, I encourage you to go and enjoy every second of it. It is also a great place to take your daily walk. I have to admit that I only made it halfway over and back. I am a little handicapped and felt real good with doing what I did. ENJOY!!!!!!!!

Electric bike rentals are a must! Unfortunately, there are only a handful of the electric ones available while heavy rental, regular bikes are in large supply. Rental is easiest using BCycle app and we got all day for $8/each). Bathrooms on NE side are porta-potty and on IA side there are no public restrooms. (We tried the door of a building there and lucked out to get in!) The bridge and trails nice and wide but don't expect any shade. The "trails" on IA side are not shaded at all and follow the river/highway, not much to see. The "trails" on NE side are winding around with some shade and pavilions and markers for Lewis and Clark things.

Doesn't take too much time and there usually isn't a ton of people on there at once, it is also pretty at night when the lights are on but I wouldn't recommend going by yourself if it's late.

A visit to Omaha must include a walk across the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. We parked at Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Headquarters and accessed the bridge from the visitor center. After enjoying the views from the bridge, we watched the video of the Lewis and Clark expedition at the visitor center.

Enjoy walking the bridge with my friends or husband, Nothing like being in Nebraska and Iowa in one day. Its a great people watcher on a beautiful day. The architecture and engineering is amazing.

This is a pleasant place to walk. I went on a cold December day, so it was pretty quiet. There are bikes to rent on either side of the bridge, which I will definitely come back and try in warmer weather. There are also walking paths along the river that you can access from the bridge area. I noticed that there were a lot of birds in the bushes and small trees on the Iowa side and wished that I had brought binoculars. Walking the bridge was a very nice way to spend time in Omaha. The parking area on the Omaha side does seem quite small though.

Walking across the Missouri to Iowa - a nice walk. At lunchtime you just have to watch out for the many joggers who use their break for a short sprint to the other state :)

If you’re looking for something to do outside and free, look no farther. It’s not just a bridge. It’s a visitor center with lots of information, a “mile” long bridge, multiple parks and lots of hiking trails. A nice way to spend the afternoon.

We enjoyed the walk across this bridge! Figuring out where to park with all the construction work going on the NE side was challenging to say the least. We went on a Saturday morning and finally just fed a meter on the north side of Old Market and "followed our nose". Be sure you don't miss Omar the Troll underneath the bridge on the NE side. It's quite an impressive structure!

We have an excellent pedestrian bridge over the Arkansas River in Little Rock so we looked forward to walking the Kerrey Bridge. It was great. We were out the before, during, and after sunset. It was a fun, relaxing, safe environment. Did not disappoint!

Handsome design of a modern pedestrian bridge with a beautiful light show every night. Friendly surroundings and places to enjoy the view of the two states.

There is Bridge for people to walk and you’ll see Missouri River plus across Iowa . Nebraska and Iowa is only 15 minute to walk on the bridge. Encourage you guys to go with dogs or family or children while warm weather!

We arrived the bridge at approximately 12 PM. The parking lot was almost full. Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is nicely maintained. It was fun to walk across this bridge across the Missouri River and be in another state. We took some photos. The views from the bridge were really nice. It is a cool spot to visit. If you have the time, you definitely should try to take a walk there.

This pedestrian bridge connects Nebraska and Iowa. It is a nice walk and there are bicycle stands around the area the allows you to rent a bicycle. You also can get a nice view of the city.

There is very nice green space between the bridge, Lewis and Clark Landing, there were several joggers during the time we were there on a weekday in the early Fall, It felt perfectly safe but there weren't a lot of people making use of the area don't think I walk here alone.

This bridge is pretty cool. The river was pretty flooded when we crossed so we weren’t able to walk down to the water. The views from the bridge were pretty cool and I would recommend anyone coming to Omaha or Counsil Bluffs to check it out.

Great surfaces for walking, jogging, running, cycling. Scenic. Safe. Free! Good job Omaha. This is a great addition to your offerings.

The view was amazing and it was great fun to walk between two states. The bridge is well maintained and the parks are beautiful especially on the Omaha side of the bridge.

A fun stroll along the river with beautiful views! Definitely recommend going in the evening time when the sun is setting.

Check out the small National Parks building display inside nearby. There are indoor restrooms and drinking fountains there. Plus a display of the Lewis and Clark voyage.

This park and pedestrian bridge is great for a walk or bike ride. Beautiful views during the day or at night.

Interesting walk and it was fun to cross the longest river in the USA! There was a museum I didn't check out but lots of nice people on the bridge. Good exercise!

Really beautiful bridge. The kids had such fun running practically the whole way and, of course, we had to stop and take pictures right in the state line. Definitely worth the time investment.

We enjoyed walking across and back on this bridge. We had a little trouble finding where it began, though. We could not get any information on its Iowa side, but we got directions to the Nebraska side. There is nice signage along the bridge to tell information.

Our family had a great time on the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge! The walk from Nebraska into Iowa across the steel bridge over this large body of water looked intimidating initially. Once we got going, we totally dismissed the height and length of the bridge and focused on the scenery. To be in two states at the same time was pretty cool too!!

Stopped with our yound children, was hard to get to, we went on the Iowa side, even with GPS we had to stop and ask. Quite a walk to get to the bridge its self, was a little flooded, saw groundhogs, deer, turtles, fish, lots of ducks and geese. People were riding electric scooters really fast, had to watch the kids, was scared they get hit. Got a couple nice pictures, wouldn't stop again.

Our party of 5 walked on the Bob from the Nebraska side. We walked to the center and stood in both Iowa and Nebraska the same time. The Missouri River was interesting to see from above and we spent about 30 minutes. Certainly a nice pedestrian bridge. We may have spent more time, but the weather was starting to get a little bit rainy so we didn’t stay long.

Nice walking bridge. It's a .9 kilometer long one way. Take your pic at midway where bridge is painted Nebraska and Iowa. Dogs allowed. Hot day? Bring water for pooch. I would do again. Good view of Omaha skyline.

This is a very interesting bridge with a unique design in that it isn’t straight! The views from it are great and make the walk worthwhile. Of course the USP is that it is partly in Nebraska and partly in Iowa! So be ready to take photos showing one foot in each state!

Excellent stop. Parking is free and easy to find. Kids loved walking across bridge from Nebraska to Iowa and back. The water fountain was a well liked bonus!

Welcomed by a sign that said, "Hi, I'm Bob. I'm a bridge." Bobbing is taking a photo with a foot in each state in the middle of the bridge. Took the photo to the Visitor's Center in Omaha and they gave us "marathon-like" stickers that said "0.9 K" in an oval and the writing around said we did not have to be in shape, we just had to be a shape.

Honestly, my sister and I went to the bridge, but didn’t walk the entire thing. We enjoyed the troll under it and the splash pad was being enjoyed by so many kiddos. It was awesome. We walked literally only the border of two states and then walked back down. We would have loved to do more, but we had already walked the zoo earlier and had the back of my shoe rubbing the back of my ankle down to what felt like the bone, so we cut it short. However, we are so glad we stopped.

We came by late in the day while the sun was setting just as the lights on the bridge were coming on. It was niffy to feel the breezy off the water and see the sun set. Great spots for pictures.

Nice and maintained well. Offers views of city, river and plenty of birds to watch. Easy access with nice areas to sit on the Iowa side. Plaques along the way give area information.

Well...it is a bridge. That you walk across. Honestly, if you like walking across rivers, it is actually quite nice. Parking may or may not be close. It is worth seeing once, unless you like walking. If you are looking for a nice walk along the river, the bridge is an excellent addition and provides a bit of change. It is much more enjoyable if it is part of a larger trip downtown exploring.

Walking or biking across “Bob” is a have-to in Omaha. Great views of the river and city of Omaha. Nicely paved and state borders are marked for the one-foot-in-each-state photos.

It’s a nice beautiful bridge. The main reason we went was so I can say I’ve been to two places at once. Worth the stop if that is something on your bucket list.

We walked across
Great views of Omaha
Chance to stand in 2 states at once
Fabulous memorial for firefighters in the area

The pedestrian stretches across the Missouri River, connection the Omaha Riverfront to the Council Bluffs Riverfront in Iowa.
Only pedestrians and bikes are allowed and it is a great experience to cross the bridge and enjoy some excellent views of the Omaha skyline. We visited on a sunny day and several other enjoyed biking, running and walking on the bridge.

Cozy place with fantastic views and places in its surroundings to relax and spend a great day with the family. Division between Iowa and Nebraska.

A nice walk over the river Omaha on one side and Council Bluffs, Iowa on the other. There are things to do on both sides and a good bath path.

I ride my bicycle over this bridge almost every day in the summer. On either side you have some great bike/walking trails. Riding a bike on the bridge will also give you a good aerobic workout. Be careful at night as there has been some illegal activity taking place. I would suggest walking with a group at night but being single during the day is fine as the bridge always has people walking/riding on it.

walked from my hotel easy to find took about a hour once your cross the bridge you can walk into coucikl bluffs but ther nt even a place to sit and a coffee or a bit to eat

This was a great place to take the family after riding in the car all day. Be sure to explain the the children how the bridge was designed. A good experience and educational for children as well.

Bottom line, the BKPB (aka "Bob") is a pretty cool structure that's interesting enough on its own to gape at and admire the engineering. But practically, "Bob" is a walking bridge across a muddy, shallow river. (yawn). Still, with an hour to kill —including drive to and from, and on a nice Spring/Summer/Fall afternoon, "Bob" is a neat diversion from the junk of merchandise and malls. It's a sweet photo-op, too.

Sweet way to spend an hour - walk across the pedestrian bridge and back. If you go on a sunny day, all the better. It is a relaxing stroll. Take time to stop and read the signs about the river - informative and educational (without being boring). Most people stop and take a photo in the middle of the bridge, where you can have a foot in Iowa and the other foot in Nebraska. The bridge is well designed and has a sculptural/art feel when you are under the thick wires. This can be a romantic outing, nice grassy spots on the Nebraska side to sit and picnic before or after your bridge walk.

Even on a rainy day, this was a great stop to make - great view of the river and being half in Iowa and Nebraska was fun.

Parking is a little tricky to find. Best not to go on a windy day. It's a fun stroll and connects to the waterfront. Check out the National Park building on the Omaha side with its gift shop. Nice park and bike path along the river on the Council Bluffs side.

The actual bridge is very nice. Excellent outdoor walk across the Missouri. Not being from Nebraska, I don't know the politics behind it's construction, it does seem slightly like a bridge to nowhere and there is a lack of parking, but, again it is a neat experience.

We had a little time to kill so checked out the Pedestrian Bridge as a potential place to take family in the future. It was beastly hot so not as enjoyable as it could be. The bridge is impressive, even during the daylight. We will try it at night sometime to see the lights. From the bridge we saw an assortment of animal tracks as well as some birds (including the Green Heron). It was a leisurely walk, pausing to take pictures of the grandkids sitting half in Iowa and half in Nebraska. The bridge actually moves and the cables visibly vibrate in the wind. The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Headquarters and Visitor Center, at the base of the bridge in Omaha, is also excellent.

Stopped here to kill some time before checking into our hotel...was a very welcomed stretch if the legs....very nice walking path.

This is actually pretty cool, you can even stand on the border of IA/NE! They have electric bikes on the Omaha did you can rent as well. Worth a stop and walk around. It’s a neat bridge with a fairy unique architectural style.

You can stand in two states at the same time, see pictures. Nice walk with a great view. Go to the visitor center at the bottom of the bridge for information about the Lewis and Clark trail

Start in Omaha or Council Bluffs and stroll across the river. In the middle take a photo with on foot in Nebraska and one in Iowa. Large open areas for playing ball or with a Frisbee. Bike rentals are available and a trail passes through the property. Parking and services are better on the Nebraska side but the Iowa side has a better view of the skyline. It's a good idea to take bug repellent if visiting in the evening.

Nice walk. Bridge is a bit over a mile round trip. Bridge is kept clean. First timers take the obligatory picture of standing in two states at once.

Nice for a short stroll and great view up and down the river. Part of a longer trail if you want a longer walk or bike ride.
Cross the state Line on an elevated 3000’ bridge and more.
We stopped here on our trip from Carter Lake to the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum, parking at the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail HDQ. After using their clean restrooms and seeing the decorated buffalo hide, we walked through the north door and up the walkway ramp to cross this ‘S-shaped’ bridge. Great river views as we entered Iowa, then more of Omaha center on our return. At the bottom, we took the river trail for ½ mile south to the large “Labor” monument featuring water lines/information on the 1952 and 2011 floods.
This is a popular area for dog walkers, bikers and runners.
