We LOVE Bonita Springs Beach and if you park down a little (not too close to Docs), the beach is quiet and peaceful and beautiful views and calm waters. It is heavenly!

If you have never been to any of the Gulf beaches stretching from St. Petersburg Beach up to Clearwater Beach, you would consider this one fantastic. It's nice but the Tampa Bay area beaches are 10 time nicer: very deep not narrow beach areas, clean beautiful soft sand with very little shells to walk on except along the water line.
We live in St. Pete and this is our first Covid outing. Staying at a Naple Hotel so decided to drive up the coast to Fort Myers.
We did have a very nice walk along the beach. It was a Thursday and not many people on the beach so was easy to maintain distance from those walking or laying on the beach.
Would definitely recommend for anyone to check it out. If the main parking lot is full, drive North up the highway as there are Beach Access points every so many blocks with paid parking for 5-6 cars.

beach was overcrowded with crushed sheels as 'sand', parking was a disaster, doubled parked across the street and almost got towed

Beach has parking garage ($8), which makes it convenient to visit without having to worry about finding a parking space. There is a drop off spot on beach before heading to park. Two bathrooms available close to the beach. Showers available. Tons of space to spread out and enjoy the sand and water.

Nice beach you can rent water sports like paddleboards, jet skiis and have a great time. They got grills with picnic tables.

Stopped by after dinner to check out the beach. Lots of shells, but the water looked inviting, not a lot of people, perfect spot to see the sun set.

Small beach getting smaller with each storm. Public parking $2 first hour $1 each additional. Alternatively you can park next door in the next county at $8 per day. Some shells as you approach the water. Jet ski rentals at Docs on the beach. The sunset is the real draw and bring in crowds each night. Not to be missed.

Great quiet beach with gentle sloping waterfront. Nature preserve along the boardwalk and public showers and snacks. A very enjoyable peaceful way to spend an afternoon or morning. Just wish I could’ve spent more time there!

Barefoot Beach, tucked away from city traffic and hub bub, is a beautiful picturesque Gulf beach located at the end of a brick lane of multi million homes. An enchanting, uncrowded beach.

.One of the nicest beaches in SWFL. We love the option of walking next door to Doc's Beach House for a quick lunch and cold drink.

Always a wonderful time at Carrabas. Clean, professional, and attentive to the customer. Pollo roso maria is our favorite. Happy hour is a big plus as well.

This beach is always so clean. I enjoy coming here every year I return to Florida. They rent chairs at the nearby restaurant or bring your own. The sunset is absolutely breath taking!

Florida has very little to clean up and restore tourism to The area after last years hurricane. The property damage will take a lot more time but fixing public areas should go much faster

Get there at least 30 minutes before sunset if you are driving. Parking is limited and is reasonably priced at $2 an hour.

Of all the beaches we've visited, this is my favorite. Beautiful beach, bathrooms, showers, a great restaurant right on the beach. Easy parking, and nice people. The shelling is great also

Went to this beach on a recommendation from a nice local lady we met on the plane. We missed low tide but still found some good shells by digging in the shell piles on the beach. Nice Long Beach to walk on. Saw a few jellyfish washed up on the shore which was fun to see before they washed back out.
Only issue was the porta potties were disgusting, all were filthy and two even had waste on the floor and on the walls of them. I’d definitely recommend going to the bathroom before you get to the beach. But the beach was beautiful and even on the weekend it wasn’t overcrowded and nice.

Nice shoreline with sand and shells. Fairly wide. Turtle nests staked near the sea oats are best avoided. Great view to the west. Limited parking

Lovely beach and clear water. The only negative is that it gets quite crowded on weekends during season.

Wonderful, clean, shower available, foot rinse. Shells. Shallow enough for kids to play comfortably.

Get there early to park. This is a good beach for shelling early in the morning but is probably my least favorite beach for spending the day because it is very crowded. It has a fairly narrow beach and is made up mostly of crushed shells so flip flops are recommended. Of course all the beaches are lovely in SW Florida. Cost is $2/hr payable at 3 kiosks.

Beach is super clean and filled with cool shells. Weather was rough and the riptide was wicked but if the weather had been nicer, it would have been beautiful!

This beach is a nice place to go with families. Lots of parking, rest rooms, picnic areas and sugary sand. There’s usually a woman selling hot dogs at one of the entrances, and it’s also right next to docs beach house bar and restaurant where you can get all kinds of food. Docs also has confessions for water sports and outdoor seating. Love this beach!

Beautiful white sand beach. Amazing sunset view. We watched the sunset with the angels of the ocean "dolphins" 😍

White sand with some shells
You can rent an umbrella or bring whatever
They have clean bathrooms and place to grill
Water was cold for January but refreshing
Parking wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be pay $2 an hour not bad at all

It's hard to say anything negative about the white sand, beautiful, shell filled beaches along the west coast of Florida. The water and sand are perfect; it's a peaceful oasis.

Well we got unlucky on her visit to Bonita Beach. Its July 25 today and there is a red tide on the beach. What does that mean severe allergy alert everyone in the beach was coughing and sneezing unfortunately many people had to leave early and the water was murky. I don't really know what a red tide is but the hot dog sellers and vendors throughout the beach told everyone that's what's what's happening. It's a great-looking Beach maybe another day there won't be a red tide but we enjoyed it for a couple of hours and had to leave. There is however there is extremely limited parking available. I would come back to this beach in the future it does look very nice.

Great beach and plenty of area where it isn’t crowded. The sunsets were so beautiful. Had the best time with family and friends.

Everything is excellent, super clean restroom pretty close just one big problem where to parking....your car you must to come early

Such a beautiful beach! You do have to pay to park, which i think I paid $4 for 2 hours. And they do check to make sure you've paid! Not a long walk to the beach from the parking lot. It was busy, as we went on a Sarurday.

We stayed across the street from this beach and it was a perfect spot to just sit on the beach, go for walks, do some 'shelling' (there were a lot of shells and they were beautiful!) or watch the sunset.

We enjoy visiting Barefoot Beach along with Lover's Key while we're in Bonita Springs. The drive to this beach is pretty fun because you get to see some pretty swanky beach houses. It's really a beautiful drive.
There are several parking lots, and the bathrooms are centrally located. The beach is vast and there is a lot of space to spread out and enjoy some privacy at the beach.
Lots of folks had beach chairs, umbrellas, and coolers. I would bring snacks, for sure.
There is a place to rent chairs and umbrellas, but I'm not sure about the cost.
It's $8 to park for the day. The attendant leaves at 5:30pm, so that's a good time to go for free. I would definitely recommend going there to watch the sunset.

Gorgeous beach, clean, accessible. Beautiful shelling. Cool that it is accessible to Doc's. Perfect place to watch a Sunset.

We went to our beach by the number 8 parking lot. The beach was nice as clean and no red tide or dead fish. Water was beautiful. Parking is a little tough as there are no large lots but small lots that hold 6-8 cars. Luckily for us we belong to a club and have plenty of parking.

This beach was a bit crowded when we went. Though we got there at 10am we still had to wait for a parking spot.. Dirty bathrooms was the only negative thing.. Stayed with my 4 year old niece for 3 hours and paid 2$ per hour. Go in the morning at 8 to get the best pick for your
Spot.

How blessed am I! I get to be at the beach all the time. What a beach bum!!
Well, not so much last year.
But, this year! Oh my. How wonderful it has been. People at the beach - fun, enjoying the sun and the sand and the sea. And, the sea life is where it belongs. :)
Gave it a 3 while waiting to see if this is the new normal for this part of the sea.
Oh, by the way, the randomness of hurricane season began this weekend. So, hurry!

We drive down here from Siesta Key because it was a little warmer. We found free parking across the street at the second parking area.Beautiful white sand and nice waves. It was too cold to swim but the sun was warm.

I was in the area for an event but I couldn't visit Florida without hitting the beach. The only free time I had was on one of the chilliest days, a high of only about 60. The benefit of the chilly weather was that parking was a breeze and the beach only had a handful of people. I walked a ways up the beach enjoying the waves and watching the sea birds dance in the surf. When I got back to the access spot where I parked I wasn't quite ready to leave yet. I found a sunny spot, out of the wind, and spread my oversized scarf out in the sand to lay on (which I had hoped to be able to do). I read my book and enjoyed the sun and it was lovely.

A lovely place to watch the waves or catch the sunset - parking is an issue but we travelled later after dinner so it was fine.
Great views of the Gulf and wildlife - a lovely spot

This is a great beach with very soft/white sand. Only issue is parking. The situation is horrendous and I don’t see how it can be rectified.

This is a nice beach option and relatively clean. It is great for taking a relaxing walk, watching the sunset, or just hanging out. Less crowded than Ft Myers Beach but also fewer food restaurant options. There is a lot of beach parking but it generally fills up by noon. There are a handful of beach access points but they only have 4-5 parking spots available. Doc's is a great spot to grab a beer or a snack.

Great beach to visit for a few hours to a full day, beautiful sunsets. Beach access points throughout Hickory Blvd., as long as parking space is available. First come first served.

Very nice , parking can be an issue. If there's no spot go south 1 block. If there's nothing there? Go further south...

We visited this beach a few times this winter and last. Although it isn’t always easy to find a parking spot we were lucky each time. It’s a beautiful beach, and there never seems to be any crowds this time of year probably because it is so long. The water was warm, the waves were rolling in and we had a ball floating along, pushed by the waves. Great place to beat the winter blues for sure!! We even saw a couple of dolphins hanging around on our second trip there.

This beach is really scenic, presents good shelling opportunists with ability to visit coves and bays north .excellent beach and well kept.

another great Florida beach. the parking is limited but there are many spots sporadically placed all along the beach. have to get an early start to get a spot but that's true for almost any beach in Florida. not a lot of shells here, it's a chill spot.

We came down from Chicago for a 3 day beach getaway. It was exactly what we wanted - a quiet, convenient beach with plenty of opportunities to relax, jet ski, parasail, or just enjoy the Gulf. I highly recommend!

This is a great place to catch the sunset. Just remember that parking is limited so you may want to get there a bit early. There is a beach bar right there, probably good pizza or burger but we got the fish which was just ok. Still, there is a nice picnic area with grills and tables and the beach is very clean. Love going there for the day or sunset.

Bonita Springs Public Beach is wide open and plenty of parking during the week - weekends can be crowded.

The beach was very clean and a lot more peaceful than Naples. It was an excellent place for shelling! Tons of amazing shells and sand dollars to snag!

A lot of parking available, food trucks for food and Doc's is near by but must have cash. Public restrooms well-maintained.

Love the Bonita Springs beach. Sit by Doc's Beach bar for activity or go further north on Hickory Blvd for serenity!!

One of the nicest beaches in Florida and the United States It is back to being a very popular place in winter...

Austin is the best concierge I've ever had the pleasure of meeting...hotel spotless breakfast incredible and unbelievably clean

Very nice beach that stretches for miles, but not so wide that it takes long to get to the water. In other words, you don't have to walk far from your car, if you park in one of the lots, but once on the beach you can walk for miles. Clean, with several areas along the way with bathrooms, showers, and paid parking ($2 an hour where I parked.) Not much in the way of food or drink, but a nice beach to spend a day at.

Predictably very busy during peak season. Get there EARLY...like before 9AM if you want a shot at securing a public parking space. Bring your gear and stay for the day! The overall quality of the beach is ok, more rocky-sea shell than soft and sandy (if you're looking for soft and sandy head up to Ft. Myers, as they bring in sand to accomplish this texture!)

Love Barefoot Beach! Daily beach walk was wonderful. Opportunity to head north on beach where it's quiet, serene, some shade trees & great homes to admire; walking south on beach offers more crowds, people watching, state park showers/restrooms & still wonderful homes to admire. Lots of seashells to collect!

This beach was clean, not that crowded and such pleasant people! The waves for the grandkids were just big enough. This really is our favorite beach!

Visited the west coast for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. Very clean beaches, with sparse crowds. Pay to park was easy to deal with and the restrooms were clean and safe.

These beaches are very short and loaded with vegetation and shells making it extremely difficult to walk and move around. I think the city is losing a huge tourist opportunity. A little sprucing up and maybe some ice cream and soft drink vendors strategically placed could make it much nicer and more family friendly.

We surely will be back in the years to come. It's a long journey for someone coming from Portugal, but it's truly worth it. Great beach with white sand, water, conditions and region, weather, holiday spirit. Very calm has we like it.

You will love the beaches in Bonita so peaceful! So many places to visit- Docs Beach House where you can have lunch then visit the beach! Love it so much!

This is a really nice, relatively natural and undeveloped beach. The kind of place where you need to take everything with you for the day because you can’t but it there. One problem is parking. There are numerous beach access off the spine road but each has limited Number of about only about 6 spaces which soon become full.

As a "northerner" why else did I fly all this way but to visit the beach? Beautiful white sand. Lots of local talent that makes the sightseeing worthwhile.

We stopped for a picnic lunch on the beach as we drove from Key Largo to Sarasota. This looked like a nice beach based on the reviews and a convenient enough detour off the highway, but it really is NOT a visitor-friendly beach. There is not enough parking. Cars were lined up to get into the larger lot, and the other lots hold only 4-8 cars. We finally found a parking spot, and followed the public access walkway between houses to come out on a beach lined with mansions. We much prefer a natural looking beach with trees. As we walked along the beach, we found millions of shells, but they were all white and mostly broken, so not interesting to collect, and they made it uncomfortable walking the beach barefoot. We do NOT recommend this beach.

Really good place to rest, easy access from the main road, not much people, the only con is limited parking space.

Beware of Red tide, which is pollution in the ocean. We were unaware of the situation and walked up to a beach of dead fish and sand knats. Because we saw the beach full of beach goers, we thought someone had left their catch behind. After a few minutes, we couldn't stay at all. It was very overwhelming and uncomfortable on the sand. I'll definitely be checking the local news next visit to the area. I love the people and shops in the area.

The best I can say about Bonita Springs Public Beach is that it is the closest beach to Bonita Springs. It’s never too busy, another advantage. However there are so many other beaches nearby... Naples and Ft Myers , just
20 miles south and 15 miles north, respectively.

Quick trip for us and our college age daughter. Stayed within walking distance. First day water like glass. Beach is beautiful. Picked shells everyday. Plenty of them. Nice public rest rooms. Vendor in parking lot had food and snow cones which was great. Met some snow birds. Friendly beach. No concerns for safety. Sunset beautiful. Second day a bit windy but still beautiful. Hope to get back there someday, soon I hope.

A beautiful beach, and it was clean and not overcrowded (Friday afternoon in mid October). A scenic place for a walk! Parking is somewhat limited and likely a challenge when we’re fully in season.

Beach great white sands place for grilling and bathrooms clean and sanitary
Have parking not too many spaces for the demand get there early especially in season
Would come back

Nice clean beach. Plenty of parking, and beach area to relax on. Restraunt right on beach. No life guards on duty, but it's gulf side, so no heavy waves.

Absolutely loved it. If ever in town I would definitely recommend going to the barefoot reserve beach. It’s just as lovely.

I try to walk this beach every morning when we are down here. I usually do this at about 8:30 a.m. The beach is clean and beautiful. At that time it isn’t crowded and you can enjoy the solitude. Parking is $2 for an hour.

After spending our time in Vanderbilt and Naples beaches, this was a bit disappointing. I found the beach and water to have a fair amount of litter. The beach was also a bit more narrow and the Jet Skis and Parasail boats were in the heart of the swimmers. It felt cramped.
There are picnic tables, but they are practically in the parking lot. A bath house is located at the end of the lot for convenience.
Parking was very cramped and spaces were small for the numerous SUV's parked there.
We expected to spend the day on the beach, but left after my family was done jet skiing. I didn't particularly enjoy my time on this beach waiting for them.

Beach was nice and not overly crowded. Bathrooms, changing and showers available. bar and restaurant just a short walk down beach.

My wife and I decided to give this beach a shot, in between our Lovers Key visits. We got very lucky with finding a parking spot, and went on to enjoy a nice long walk on the beach.

We spent a relaxing day here and had the beach to ourselves. Its quiet and peaceful and the best part was that we had the sunset view.

Being on this beach every day for a week I was very happy. I seen the ocean at many levels, skies at different times, sunsets, sunrises, clean beach. I had plenty of room for comfort, was able to leave things unattended, very accessible and clean. I could walk this beach for hours. People please be kind to our environment and pick up your things. My husband picked up after families who packed up and just left trash lay for someone else. We have to work together to continue to enjoy these things.

Every year on our annual trip to Florida we make a point to have a day at the beach here!
You can fish, boogie board, go shelling and just relax!
The beach is not very wide which is great when you are lugging sand toys, blankets/towels and beach chairs!
The bathroom facilities are great too!

love the beach nice and sandy. love the nice people too. the ocean views are awesome. so very cool. miss it .

The bonita beaches are terrific. No red tide and the water is around 85 degrees. There is vegetation on the beaches as well as turtle habitats and there always seems to be shells everywhere. The water on the gulf is generally calm and is great for swimming. Sometimes we see dolphins and even a manatee. There are lots of small fish swimmers by around in the water with lots of pelicans and sea birds in the area. Great for boating

The Naples- Fort Meyers area is blessed with an abundance of nice beaches and Bonita Springs public beach is one of them. When we were there, it was one of the more crowded ones. There is a good sized pay parking area but you better get there early if you want a place to park. If you beat the crowd, there are shells to pick up. There is lots of sand and the water is safe to play in. It is also a good place to watch the sun set.

Bonita Beach is a great place to go because it has close rest rooms and can be close to Doc’s Restaurant. Parking and traffic are two major concerns for the entire beach.
My favorite beach is a few miles south at Wiggins Pass in the State Park. The Park is Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. Admission is about $6.00 and they have plenty of parking, clean restroom, picnic tables and some huge trees for welcome shade.

Great and easy to walk. Small waves and ample beach to utilize. Very shelly which means no beach sports, but great for walking swimming or picking shells. There are jet ski rentals.

There are better beaches than this one. However, Bonita Beach is not a crowded one and parking is cheap. There are plenty of shells at this beach for the kids to play with.

We arrived at Bonita Beach about 10:45 on 27 November. We found free parking at Lee County beach access point #9, then walked north along the beach until we were close to beach access point #10 and settled in near the water for a relaxing day. Access point #10 has change room/washroom facilities and beach showers in the parking lot area. Parking vouchers from the machine at point #10 cost $2 per hour.
The beach was relatively quiet and peaceful. Waves lapping on the shoreline and birds calling created a relaxing atmosphere. A gentle breeze blew the entire time we were there. The sand is quite white with a fair degree of small shell content and the beach is kept clean. We waded in the water to our knees but it was a bit cold for our liking.
We chatted with several interesting people that we ran across. About noontime I returned to our car and noticed that all of the parking spaces (approx. 7) at point #9 had been taken, however there was quite a bit of parking available at #10. We enjoyed our day at the beach and plan on spending another day here before returning to Canada.

Love this beach! Great parking and plenty of shells to pick. Doc restaurant is there as well which makes it very easy to get some food and drinks... Watched the sunset from there as well. Perfection!

We like visiting Bonita Springs beach - great location, usually great weather, nice people, and lots of Mother Nature to enjoy!

Nice beach. It fills up very quickly during busy times. Parking is a problem when busy. Beach is good for walking and enjoying the gulf.

Very accessible beach in Bonita Springs. Plenty of parking and local restaurants around. Great golf beach with calm waters and beautiful white sand. Some shells, not as many as other more secluded beaches in the area but non the less a very enjoyable beach and had a great time with the family.

Family friendly, white sand, calm waters, bathroom and shower, and cheap parking, only $2/hr. This beach stretches for miles, lovely place to visit.

Pretty white sand and lots of small shells and sand dollars. Very calm and peaceful in the evenings during sunset.

Lovely quiet beach, with a great beachside bar/diner. Beautiful sunsets. Sunbeds and jet ski's available to rent but I never saw anyone use them!

White sand, hot sun, green sea. Seashells, shallow water, good parking, sea turtles, this is just perfect!

My wife and I regularly go to Bonita Beach. If we want to have few people near us for a more secluded feel we venture down between access 3-8. If you want more people go to Access 1-2 and 9 &10.

We vacation in the area yearly and love this beach. Always clean, great parking, food carts and a great restaurant right on the beach. Beautiful beach, lots of room to spread out. There are public bathrooms and a shower area as well. The shelling is great!

The beach itself is nice, even though we suffered tremendously from the red tide. But there is a BIG parking problem.

There is limited metered parking so get there early. They have public restrooms and showers. There is a restaurant next door. It's a great place to bring the kids and let them run around. It's always well maintained by a great staff.

Docs and Bonita Springs is a wonderful beach. Not too crowded, decent food right there on the beach, white sand and parasailing, paddle boards, Kayaks and Jet skis all right there for rental. People are generally very relaxed and friendly. The only down side is there is limited parking available ad during Spring Break traffic can be difficult.

We have visited here two times and lucky enough that the summer issues of red tide and algae weren't issues either time. The beach does get really crowded and parking can be an issue but again we got lucky and someone was pulling out when we arrived. The parking here is $2 per hour and if you are spending the day the next beach south at Barefoot offers a flat rate $8 for the entire day. There are rentals here though such as chairs, umbrellas, jet skis, and even parasailing! The summer red tide and algae issues come and go here and being local we can work around it.....hate it for the tourist though but anywhere south of Sarasota shares these problems.

We had trouble parking (needed to go to Public Access #9 before getting a spot on Sunday morning). But once there it was great. The beach is very “shelly” with tons of shells for the kids to collect, however you have to watch when walking barefoot. The kids loved it.
When leaving there were no water faucets to rinse sandy feet off, however it wasn’t too big of an issue for us. We enjoyed this beach.

We found this beach a lovely restful spot. There were a couple of paid lots charging only a small fee -- nothing exorbitant like in Naples. The sand was a bit shelly but we loved the quiet and would definitely make it a return spot.

Pay to park. $2/hr in Feb.
Lots of shells but plenty of sandy beach area. Kids had a BLAST! Wander down a bit from Doc's/public parking if you want a quieter area. Plenty of "shelters" near the parking lot with picnic tables and grills. Wish we'd known that!

In high season parking is an issue at this Bonita Springs beach..........early arrival with either your own food and / drinks. Docs restaurant is available for drinks, food also as is rental of warm boards and other motorized water vehicles!! View of Sanibel to the north and Marco Island to the south. Crowded..........little shade unless you are a guest at Docs restaurant!!

Don’t come until they clean the water dead fish everywhere. Army Corps still dumping Lake O into our ocean

Great beach. Clean! Easy parking. Not over crowded. Watch for turtle nests. They are starting to hatch.

Clean, great restroom, only charge parking by the hour. Park, beach, and get a beer, at Docs beach house outdoor cabana.

This beach is clean and well kept. If you enter near Doc's you will find jet ski rentals available just in front of the Doc's facility. There are also volleyball nets right there and always seem to be in use. Public restrooms and a shower are available close to there too. Many folks head down there for sunset. Parking for free is difficult but there are paid lots and in season fill up very quickly.

My wife loves the white sand beaches...clear water...and especially shelling..
The shelling was great; we walked up and down the beach with many shells, and we also saw some live crabs as well...The bathroom facilities were spacious and clean.
Dave C. Lees Summit, Missouri

Several parking options but the fill up quickly. City restrooms are in good shape, Beach is pretty nice. Lots of small shells if you like looking. Doc's is very close so you have a place to get a drink and bite to eat. Enjoy

We drove up and got a parking spot exactly at 7:30 sunset, which was simply beautiful. The walk in was slow motion color changes that were wonderful. After it set in five minutes we backed out and went our way happily.

Nice sand beach close to water very long parking lots stretch length. Get there early before 10 or after 1 when 1st shift leaves the heat

Visited here yesterday as a family with two teens, and we all enjoyed a fantastic day. Parking right beside the beach at $2 per hour, we thought was well worth it for it's convenient location. Lovely, safe, family atmosphere and not too crowded. It was a very relaxing place to swim and sunbathe and read. We also enjoyed the wonderful and fun parasailing and jet skis located conveniently on the beach, ( kayaks and paddle boards also available for hire). We enjoyed a great lunch from Docs, while seated outdoors admiring the sea view, absolute bliss. All of this a few feet only, from where we sunbathed. The restrooms, showers and changing rooms were clean, conveniently located and made our beach experience so comfortable. In my opinion, this beach has it all and has been one of my best beach days ever.

A good day at dog beach. Not the same after hurriance Ian, but water was nice today. Wolfdog enjoyed.

The parking is sometimes a little difficult, but once you find a spot you are all set!!! The beach is clean... not overly crowded and Doc’s is just a few steps away!!! There is also Bonita jet ski and parasail... The prices are a bit high but you won’t have a better experience... The people are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure your experence is awesome!!!
Great family beach or even just a quiet solo relaxing time!!!

We typically go to Ft Myers Beach but this time stayed in Bonita about a mile.from the beach. I actually liked it better! It feels more like a local beach, is somewhat smaller but very nice. Pro: Docs Beach House is right there for drinks and eats, cons: less soft sand and more crunchy shells to walk on.

Its true bonita means beautiful. The beach was beautiful.. Ours was a full on sunshine day and just amazing. We jumped the blue waves, looked for shells and laid on the soft sand. Parking, bathrooms and shower all worked out great for us!

It’s a little small but nice. Limited parking. The facilities are nice. You need to bring your own umbrella and chairs. Your next to docs for food and their are wave runners an activities right there. Soft sand.

Very pretty and well maintained with ample parking water is clean beach is clean very nice area to visit any time of year.

Nice enough beach that is very busy peak season. Rentals available for chairs and umbrellas from a local lady, as well as at Doc’s (Bonita Beach Parasail). Get there early! Limited parking for $2 hour.

You can find few areas to park and access the beach. The beach was pristine with limited condo overlooking the palace
The sand is white, giving a great contrast with the sea.
There is also a pace offering paying parking spots. You will find free shower and few activities (rental boat, etc.)

Great beach to visit. Very peaceful, clean and relaxing . We will return to bonita beach for vacation .

I go to Bonita Springs Beach almost every day. It's never the same and it's always beautiful. Sunsets are amazing

this is a great spot - although Irma did some damage to this area. I'm sure after some time has passed, it will be a gem again.

I love this beach. Plenty of water activities. Beach volleyball and Docs beach house! Water is clear and their are lots of sand dollars!! You can fish and swim! Get there early for parking.

This beach has easy access to food, bathrooms, activities like jet ski or volleyball. Parking is decent although it’s metered. Also lots of bike racks and crosswalks if you can bike there. Sand is clean, water is nice, not crowded during the week (we do avoid it on weekends). Nice hotdog stand too! Shade with picnic tables. Everything for everyone. People are friendly, lots of families.

We stayed right up the street from Bonita Beach Park but did not go there until the day before our vacation ended. And boy, am I glad we made it there! The beach is clean, the bathrooms are nice and has handicap rams for those who need them. There are a couple of picnic areas with grills and pergola overheads. There's a casual restaurant on the beach serving breakfast and lunch foods and alcohol!
You can rent kayaks, jet skis, sign up to go parasailing and/or dolphin sighting trips right on the beach. We did not take advantage of these offers as it was our last day and we just wanted to relax. I was impressed with everything this public beach has to offer.
The only negative is the small parking lot. My husband dropped us off with everything we needed to set up, went home and took the Uber back to the beach. A small problem easily solved!

Bonita Springs Public Beach is very well maintained and clean. The water, sun and cool breaze made for a beautiful morning swim and relaxation on our recent visit. Restrooms, showers, picnic area and children's playground were also on the site and kept clean.

I cant say it has soft white sand like other reviewers. We were there during red tide and there dead fish and shells that felt more like rocks than soft white sand. The views are good. It was cool watching the storm come in.

Get there early in season if you need to park. Always pleasant and well kept. Having Doc's right there is a definite plus!

Love going to this beach when we're down in Florida as it's not super busy and very family friendly.

Lovely beach nice warm water golden sands and miles of them plenty of parking. There are no shops within walking distance just Docs restaurant which is food and drink primarily, so take with you whatever you need for the day.

My husband and I collected a whole bag of interesting seashells for the grandkids. The pristine water and white sand make this beach very inviting.

When I was there in mid-January, there was hardly any parking spaces left, but if you walk there, there is plenty of space for more people. The water was freezing so I did not go in the ocean lol

Very easy to access, many free public parking spots. Visited several locations over the course of 5 days. Beautiful sand and many sea shells.

The beach is at the end of Bonita Springs Road..
The beach is very nice and long, for a long walk.
Also plenty of shells to pick as well.
Parking is another story - you need to get there NLT 10am on a sunny day - on weekends even earlier.
Limited spots to park so you may have to drive around a bit.
Go early and enjoy..

The gulf this far south is so beautiful. But get there by 9 am or you can't get a parking space. Beautiful!!👍👍👍👍👍☀

They have designated parking spots for the public beach, among all the beautiful homes. If you don't find a parking spot in 1 spot, keep driving and there are several.

We rented some of the water toys that they have on site. Paddle board, jet skis etc. A little pricey, but a lot of fun! Beach was clean and water was a little chilly, but swimmable. Only wish they had some better food options on site.

Parking is very minimal and paying by the hour. Get there very early in the morning if you want a space! Easy access to beach. Can be very crowded on weekend. Food availability is minimal.

The beach was beautiful and clean. The parking was not free. The sunsets were beautiful. The spectators clapped when the sun set. A few dolphins played in the area as the sun was going down. I would go here again.

Love this beach! Been going there since I was 10. Good amenities and great shelling! Good beach for taking a walk. Get there early because parking is difficult!

Lovely beaches all along this coast and we have spent many happy hours on them. Unfortunately this trip coincided with a “red tide” which poisoned hundreds/thousands of fish which lay rotting on the shore for days! The response to this disaster took days before any action was taken.

The beach was reasonably populated with travelers, but was very clean with great views !!!!! There was a warning posted about red tides, but we didn't see any red algae or feel any burning sensation.

Walk along the beach and marvel at the sea shells sea gulls and the massive homes waterfront
This and Naples are definitely the Palm Beach of the West Coast
Naples is surrounded with Bentley Rolls Royce and Ferrari
This is a great people watching and walking tour

Bonita Beach has a nice parking area with restrooms and showers and access to the beach is short and convenient. There was a fun little hot dog food truck on hand and the beach wasn't overly crowded. Enjoyed finding shells and taking a refreshing dip in the warm water. Would definitely return to this beach, as opposed to others along the SW Gulf Coast simply for the convenience and short walk from the parking area to the water's edge!

Adjacent to Docs for beer, wine, fast food, food cart as a less expensive option. Limited parking. Volleyball. One of the busier beaches if you like people watching. Good facilities.

Like so many things, tried to do some research before hand but just saw the photos of the facilities from before last years hurricane. Guess I only saw what I wanted to see. This is not ready for visitors yet. What a mess. There was some parking. Nothing but filthy porta pots that had no supplies. Red Tide as you know; and of course that’s not their fault. Walking the beach is doable, you can see lots of repair going on. Water seems clean. I need to look at current reviews before heading out!

One of my favorite places to watch the sunset is at Bonita Beach. Its the perfect location with white sand and gentle waves.

The most beautiful beaches I found in Bonita Spring area.
We liked the area and I would go back for my birthday on August 18

You reach the beach through a beautiful neighbourhood. You pay. $8 per car for access to the beach. There are three accesses, one with services, public bathrooms, etc. The beach is beautifil and peaceful, not very crowded.

I ride my bicycle to the beach all the time. Of course, it's best in the summer, when it is less crowded, but I just go early in the morning during season. I always see tortoise, often dolphins. Love collecting sand dollars.

There are two Bonita Springs public beaches. We went to the one at the southern end of the island to watch a sunset. Parking is available and costs $2.00 per hour. The machine takes credit/debit cards.
It is only a matter of yards from the lot to the beach. For sunset it was pretty full so get there a little early. There were lots of people on the beach for sunset. If you want food and drink service there is a beachfront restaurant just north of the parking lot. They have tables set out on the beach.

Actually didn’t make it to this beach this time because there was absolutely NO parking, so went down to Vanderbilt Beach, near where we stayed. But with that said, it’s a great beach, water activities right there, easy to rent the same day. Doc’s is right there and a great beach bar and restaurant. Just go early in the morning I would say by 9am.

We just spent 6 days on the beach here where we keep returning since 2015! Dolphin airings are common, sand is smooth and the weather is perfect !
Love Bonita ❤️❤️

We stopped by on a weekday morning. No problem finding parking (you pay by the hour) and the beach was not as crowded as I had expected considering it was a gorgeous morning in late July. The water was clear - we were there just before the red tide hit. Relaxing morning spent here.

Had a great time each time there and it is always very clean . always go there to get away from all the crazy crowds and always enjoy how clean the city keeps it

There are a couple of parking spots along Hickory Blvd for an easy access to the beach. Luckily we had a good timing - past the morning walkers and before the beach people so we got parking most of the days. Good for a long walk up to Barefoot beach.

Parked at the many free beach access points along Highway 41 which takes you right along the beach front.
Arrived at 10:30 with very few people. Lots of shells. Did not see any evidence of red tide ie: dead marine life. Water was clearer this week than Naples or Marco Island beaches last week.
No foot wash. No restroom. Stayed 2 hours.
Had a great time.

Nice beach.. people are friendly. Just don't go during low tide beaches here tend to start to smell.

Beautiful beach!! Public parking in several areas!! Spotted two dolphins!! Loved the sea shells!! Amazing experience!!

After parking at the public parking lot and walking a short distance to the beach, if was a perfect beach day. The sand was clean and food, bathrooms, and picnic tables were available. Great place to spend the day.

Went to check out the area beach and found a clean quiet place worth coming back to. Parking could be an issue. ALWAYS remember to PAY when you park there is ALWAYS someone watching.

The public beach in bonita is very nice. This beach is not like an ocean beach however. It is much narrower and can be loaded with shells making it difficult to walk. It is however a free beach. The biggest issue with this stretch of beach is the parking. It is impossible. They have small parking lots along bonita beach road that hold maybe 6-10 cars and they usually are filled by 9am. There are one or two larger ones but they do charge and even those are filled up early in the morning. So if you are a beach goer, you must get there very early and hope for the best.

less crowded than Naples beaches (obviously), Nice clean beach, Limited parking, but still enough, we were able to find parking spots

The beach is beautifull, very clean, the facilities were always very neate and clean. The sand was white and thin, while the water crystalline.
It is a very long beach , and it is very nice for taking long walks.

Loved my visit! Found parking in the lot and could easily use my credit card to pay by the hour. There are restaurants and condos that line the beach, and lots of shells. There is a shower so you can rinse off after and a nice bathroom.

I love the beach at Bonita Springs. They have plenty of parking and it's not overcrowded. They have restroom facilities and a nice restaurant on the beach. This is a great place to bring your family or just come and sit and watch the sun over the ocean.

This was not in season and a windy but beautiful day and the beach was busy. Not much parking left but beach is nice with amenities and restaurants

We stopped by here on a cool day to walk the beach. It was not crowded and there was ample parking with facilities and an outdoor shower to rinse our sandy feet. We walked for a few miles and found some very unique , beautiful shells. The beach is very long but not too wide. It appeared clean and very well kept up. No seaweed .

This is a beautiful beach with shell finds. Parking is a real big problem because of space. If uou get a legal spot it is $4 per hour. Legal parking is a big tow zone. Go early and enjoy

The access streets along Hickory Blvd give way to more secluded beaches! While parking is limited, we had no problem parking and it was free. The access we went to had few people, lots of shells and it was clean. When we drove past the main Bonita Beach Public Beach, there was no parking and it looked crowded.
Definitely the right way to enjoy the gulf beaches is to visit one of the many access streets.

Wonderful beach, warm and shallow enough to wade out and enjoy. Shelling on Sanibel is better but still wonderful here. Sunshine in morning with several days of clouding up in the afternoon to make it a perfect day.

clean beach, easy access. lots of shells at the jetty at the end of the beach.. rest rooms, perfect place to watch the sunset.

Enjoyed walking the beach looking for shells. Has clean bathroom facilities. Doc's Beach House in area for food and drinks.

Pros: easy and ample parking, decent quality sand, clean beach and water. The gulf was warm while we visited and we enjoyed boogie boarding and making sand castles.
Cons: the “no see-um” bugs AKA “chiggers” were on us like crazy - bring special bug spray just in case (ingredient needed = picaridin)! Restrooms have yet to be re built but there were multiple sets of portable toilets in the parking lots. Only one beach shower we could find.

Spent our Sunday afternoon here. Not too crowded, plenty of shells and calm water. Couldn’t ask for a better day. Can’t wait to visit again.

These are the best of times for visiting Bonita Beaches; traffic is not so heavy since the snowbirds have gone north. Weekdays are less crowded than weekends.
Weather is good now but rainy season is coming soon. Try to avoid Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends (crowds). Traffic is lighter in September & October, just be willing to reason with hurricane season. November traffic is not usually too bad, and it might be cool enough to turn off the AC and mosquito repellant. Then reset calendar; if you are a local you might not even think of beaches from January through April when it’s cold up north.

Soft sand, great for sunset. There are showers and bathrooms for the public, but get there early in season as parking is somewhat limited.

A very beautiful beach that we can be crowded during the weekends. Can be difficult to find a parking spot...

Try to go at least once a weekend. Sometimes we find free parking just past the public parking lots....if not , we park at the lot next to Docs and pay by the hour with metered parking. I try to go early so we find parking and before it gets too crowded

This beach is a long strip of white sand, along which are numerous access points. We accessed it at Bonita Beach Park, at the south end of Hickory Boulevard. There is a reasonably good sized parking lot there. There are also rest rooms. Additionally, there is a lot of beach south of this spot that seems less crowded. Pleasant.

This is our go to beach, but it;s not necessarily for the sand. The beach does not have the fine sand like other nearby beaches. However, it's close to where we live, we meet our friends there all the time, there are public restrooms and showers right there and breakfast, lunch or dinner nearby at Doc's adds to the convenience. Oh and the sunsets are worth the price of admission....just wish that Collier County/City of Naples would let we Lee County Residents purchase annual parking passes like we used to....that allowed us to go as often and as impromptu as we wanted.

I come here every time I'm in Bonita. Limited paid parking area, but cheap, $1/.hour. It gets crowded especially at sunset so plan accordingly. Clean sand, good shelling still available, fantastic water, lots of sea birds, gulls, sandpipers, pelican, and often dolphin. Docs restaurant is close for refreshment, and also offers the "toys" jet skis and parasailing. Can walk for miles. Love it.

I wouldn’t bother going here in peak season unless u enjoy seeing people fighting for parking spots. Very commercial area and private beach clubs that have their turf sectioned off. Minimal parking, extremely limited. Take a pass on this one.

We were in SWF, looking for potential retirement homes, we looked from Venice to Naples. Homes, area, beaches, shopping very important.
We stayed in Bonita Springs, looked North and South. Since we were staying in Bonita Springs we wanted to check out the beach. We had a busy day, our opportunity to visit the beach was at sunset, we were not disappointed!

I'm hesitant to write this review because Bonita Beach seems to be a hidden gem in SWFL. It is our favorite beach and we love going for long walks here. Parking is sometimes tough (especially in season), but it is worth it! We also LOVE Doc's Beach House to grab a bite to eat (CASH ONLY) and they have downstairs indoor open air tables, upstairs indoor a/c tables and tables right on the beach! Bonita Jet Ski & Parasail is great for activities and they are located on Bonita Beach in front of Doc's.

What I especially appreciated about the city's public beach is that there's several free public parking lots.

Try to get a free parking place and bring bathing shoes, the shells can be a bit sharp. No facilities.

Nice beach. Sand not as fine as beaches in Naples area or Siesta Key. Parking lot is small so finding parking not easy during day. In evening, parking easy, but there are little creatures like either sand fleas or very small mosquitoes that like to eat you alive so bug spray a good idea. Maybe during winter months it is better in that regard. Overall prefer Naples area beaches.

This is a great, white sand beach. You can walk it, sit in the sand to catch a ray, or enjoy a dip in the gulf. There are some restaurants around, but nothing great for eating. You can get a drink or too, but you'll be better off eating elsewhere if you are looking for good food.

A lovely place to spend an afternoon, listening to the surf, children at play, seagulls looking for a crumb. Rent a paddle board, stroll the sand all good fun.

I can't evaluate this as a place to swim, but it was an awfully nice place to catch a sunset with a plate of tacos we brought with us. The sand at the waterline was comfortable for walking barefoot, and it wasn't too crowded.

A very quiet and safe beach. Relatively easy weekday parking. Showers and public toilets and a cocktail and drinks place nearby.

A Little hard to find parking but I love the white beach.I really liked looking at the beach houses.

Beautiful beach although lots of crushed shells...parking is limited so you need to get there early...city should consider expanding parking options.

Beautiful beach! Easy access with paid parking (be prepared to stand in line to pay at the machine) Lots of shells and also found some sea glass. Didn’t find a shower to rinse off the salt and sand on the beach access walk or nearby. Not sure if they have one.

Bonita Beach is clean and uncrowded, but the eight tiny free parking lots and the two larger paid parking lots ($2.00 per hour) are often full during season (November through April). There is one restaurant/bar "Doc's by the first beach parking lot. Doc's has a tiny parking lot too, but we've never been able to find a space in it and no one should consider parking there if you intend to leave their area. Your vehicle will be towed away according to the signs posted all around their lot. Dogs/Pets are not allowed on Bonita beach. There are no lifeguards. The only restrooms are by parking lots one and ten, probably 4-5 miles apart. Without special beach sized wheels, carts or strollers would be very difficult to push. There are public sidewalks along Hickory Road by the beach.

Every public parking was either metered, pay at the machine, or some guy with a money bag asking for $15 to park. Gouging has been reported. Visitors beware. The beaches should be accessible for ALL. Don't waste your money...go to north Florida where beaches are open to the public, no cost, and whiter, cleaner sand. You should be ashamed Bonita Springs! Not coming back and telling my friends to stay away. Sad.

Recognizing that we were here during a very busy week, I still found this beach to be too crowded. Parking was a challenge as well. However, the amenities including places to get out of the sun were quite nice.

A well maintained, clean beach to relax. Many shells, I had to wear flip flops while taking long walks. Little crowded on the weekend but very tolerable.

It's been a long time since my last visit to these beautiful beaches and the overall experience was excellent! The only concern or problem is that some areas has very limited parking available. You must go early to get a parking spot. No restroom facility available in most of the beaches along the Bonita Springs road. Any parking spot with number 1-6 has no restrooms available.

The beach has 10 or so access points along the road. However each spot might be limited to 4 cars. Just keep trying. The access points are just feet to the sand. The beach was super clean and calm.
As a tip, there are a number of thrift shops nearby to grab a cheap beach chair and then re-donate!
The homes and rentals on the drive are awesome to look up!

The beach is pristine, and you can find lots of interesting critters because its such a healthy beach. Go by 10 AM or all the public parking will be full.

Love Bonita Beach ! So clean , quiet, great shells ,
It is normal to see dolphins on a day visit . Great shore birds ! 13 beach access with free parking . There is a state park on each end that has bathrooms and parking .

Great for walks, collecting seashells, seeing dolphins, running and biking! Visit Barefoot Beach Preserve at south end of key. One of the better beaches in southwest FL.

Great beach - very popular but parking and traffic can be very challenging. Sometimes best to wait at the public lots.

Not...so sad for our beaches right now lined with dead fish. :( I hope the government hears I cries and help the poor wildlife that we dearly love and so sad to see... and not healthy for us either!

Always a nice beach......some red tide there. Parking is a definite problem, especially during season...Feb and Mar. Impossible between 10 and 2.

great beach, very nice, great area, clean, clean bathrooms, it has showers, sheds and accessible with strollers, however it is impossible to find parking and there is nowhere else to park around, i arrived at 9am and there was no parking, next day was same thing. how do you enjoy such a nice beach with 3 toddlers if there is nowhere to park?

We stay at the Bonita Beach and Tennis Club, so access to the beach is excellent. The beach is very clean and there are limited shade trees available. There is a restaurant close by. Parking is limited if you don't live or stay close by. However, the access is excellent.

All of Bonita Springs beaches are beautiful and enjoyable. Access to the main beach is easy and plentiful along with the many services available to make an enjoyable day.

nice beach clean and clear blue water I highly recommend this beach for long cozy walks with your other half holding hands.

Beautiful spot to watch the sunset! Crowded public beach, parking ample but full! Allow time to find a parking space!

Got to visit in February & the weather was terrific! Beach was clean. There are seashells everywhere. You could fill buckets with them.

We’ve been visiting Bonita Beach for the past several years and really like it. We usually go early to find s place to park in one of the small lots along the main beach road. But you need to get there early as there are generally spots for 4-8 cars and they go fast. So we tried the public beach and were fairly disappointed. It’s very crowded for starters and not particularly clean. We got up early the rest of the week and got a spot at the other public access beaches- way, way better!

Yessss what a great beach I adore this location I am so glad I live so close to this new white sandy beach

Beach is clean, clear water and close to restrooms and food. Only negative is that beach tends to get crowed on weekends and parking is by the hour and can be hard to get a parking place.

We stayed in the Bonita Beach and Tennis Club, just across the road from the beach where Doc's Beach House restaurant is.
The beach is great for those wanting to stay all day and lie in the sand and sun and take a dip in the water from time to time. Staying around Doc's is a great place because of the convenience of having a great place to eat and drink and all the watersports on offer there.
The beach is great for long beachwalks which we prefer. You can walk an hour and a half in each direction if you like to. It's very pleasant and the private villas along the beach are just amazing. If you like architecture then there are some great examples of fine houses here on view. Some of them are on rental via airbnb if you have some spare money (they're quite expensive to rent).
The sand is fine and comfortable to walk on and to lie on. Not as good as the fine white sandy beaches in the Caribbean like in Turks or Jamaica but this is as close as you can get.
The sunsets are amazing. I brought my small tripod for my cell/mobile and it worked a treat. Make sure you watch it at least once during your stay.

This was a beautiful beach and very clean. Head down to Doc’s Beach House for a drink and snack or meal right on the beach!!

The parking can really get packed QUICKLY. It is so affordable in comparison to the private parking spots. My kids and I will get up and arrive right before sunrise. Best parking, more shells, and very few people. Afternoon you will be fighting for a spot (if it is not already marked at capacity).

Another beautiful beach in SW Florida. Just wish I could count on finding a parking place; might go more often.

We’ve been searching for a beach without seaweed all week for our two toddlers. Fort Myers was packed and the beach was full of the red thick seaweed. Bonita beach was just perfect. Water is clearer and no seaweed. It is crowded and parking is limited. Recommendation is to arrive before 10am. There is a little lot before you get to the beach to the left and one right at the beach. Cost is $8 a day. The beach is full of shells so water shoes are recommended. There are restrooms, a beach restaurant, and rentals. Highly recommend it over the traffic to Fort Myers.

Bonita Beach completely turned me off. The parking lots are still closed, there is plenty of space in front of the parking lots, but the police issue a ticket there. The beaches are dirty and smelly. A month after the hurricane, the city does nothing to encourage tourists to visit this place. 11/10/2024.

This beach is great if you want a short walk to the gulf and sand. Also had great restroom facilities and food availability without having to travel a long distance to use either. Plenty of space to spread out. Get there before 11AM if you want to get a close metered parking place.

Beach is easily accessible at the 10 marked access points but parking varies from 3 spots to about 8 spots except for the 3 beaches with paid parking and bathrooms ( beach 1, 4, 10)

Love this beach! Great place for shells, lots of activities. Clean beach, clear water, even saw a few dolphins!

Great beach. During snow-bird season you need to get to the parking lot by 9:00 a.m. You have to pay for your parking spot. I love that it's not a far walk to the water. Had a wonderful time.

Beautiful beach ! Miles of white powdery sand great for taking long walks. The water is clear and clean. You may even catch a glimpse of a few dolphins swimming by !

Maybe it's not fair that I give this beach 2 stars as my husband and I were there during the terrible red tide. There were so many dead fish lying scattered across the shoreline for miles. Not fun to walk along any of the beaches in southern FL, they say, until sometime 2019. This beach area does not have shops within walking distance and the sand is not as soft or luxurious as say Clearwater Beach. It does have showers but this is not a beach we would return to. Much prefer the white sands and activity surrounding Clearwater Beach.

the color of the water is not very inviting but the beach is clean. Free parking is hard to come by since last year when Collier county withdrew permission to Lee county residents to but an annual parking pass at barefoot beach park
Beautiful sunset at 5;50 pm

My sister n her hubbie rented a house right at the beach , our whole family was there and we had a great time when we visited with them , as usual the Gulf beaches are warm, calm waters ,fine sand n seashells, sea stars and Dolphins in early morning or late afternoons ...Relaxation as it best !

This stretch of public beach offers nice shelling, restrooms, and showers for cleaning that sand and salt water off before heading home. Locals and visitors alike gather prior to sunset to view and just after the sun has set clap for the end of another marvelous day!

A really great beach. Nice sand and it would be great for shelling. I also noticed a number of fishermen that were having pretty good success. Doc's beach house is there for food and drink. The parking did get crowded by 10:00am so plan accordingly, it is $2.00 per hour.

We love going to this beach on our first day of vacation because you pay by the hour versus paying for all day access which can be more expensive. Usually spend 2 hours on day one and can take a nic e walk in. Front of some beautiful homes while enjoying the gorgeous beach. Stop by docs for a beer after the walk and all is good.

This beach is full of shells, over-crowed and dirty. If you don’t get here before 7am good luck finding room. I do not recommend this beach to anyone!

BAD EXPERIENCE! We went to this beach/restaurant for dinner, we ordered a pizza which arrived burnt and a second course of fish which was clearly not fresh, like a frozen discount type.
Obviously we didn't even have dinner and when the time comes to pay we realize that two seconds had been counted.
The owners first put an apology on the order and then, in a very arrogant manner, told us that it was impossible for such a mistake on their part.
Very good, we paid like a gentleman and we will never go back again

A easy to access beach. Not to busy in weekdays. A ton of shells, fun to look through but wouldn't recommend going barefoot.

This beach is in the middle of s bunch of private homes. When we were there - spring break - most of the private homes were shuttered and the beach is a ghost town, um, ghost beach. If you walk just a few steps away from the public beach area you can practically have your own private beach.

Great beach to visit without massive crowds. Good beach water activities and can rent nice recliner lounge chairs and umbrellas. Everyone was safe. Beach had lots of sea shells in some places which was good but hard to walk on/around at times. Overall, we would go back.

Very nice tourist beach .We did a little Sea shell hunting and walking on the extensive white sandy beaches . Very clean and there was parking if you get there early enough.

God's beauty is everywhere on this beach. If you want the human activity and game sand then you need to go to the Siesta Key Beach or the Vanderbilt Beach in Naples.

Great water, great powdery sand, no crowds when we were there. We found free beach access parking lots. This is very rare in the area. These areas are small, with room for about 5 cars each, so get there early.

Lovely venue, blue water (no one in it) people enjoying the weather, friendly and clean. Definitely recommend as a family outing spot. There was a nice shelter to sit out of the sun with a view to the beach, and showers for folks to rinse off the sand. All in all a great spot!

This beach is beautiful but the parking is very limited. It is very popular for the sunset. So I would get there early.

We were staying with family in Sarasota and made a day trip. I had my eye on Sanibel but decided to not venture over their and drive near Bonita. So glad. We did not use the paid public parking lot, we drove until we found an open spot in one of the beach access parking spots. We lucked out and found a spot. We actually changed into our swimsuits in our vehicle. We used the public path beach access to the gulf shore. The sand was crushed shell and full of little shells. My husband parked himself under some shade and I walked to the beach bar that was about a half mile down the beach. There were one or two dolphins swimming in the roped off swimming area. So cool. I bought a drink and sat watching the parasails and jet skis. I went back and got my husband and did the same walk back to the beach bar. We will definitely return in a year with the kids!!

At low tide you can walk out a long way with no waves. Plenty of seashells, and you might even be like us and see a manatee swimming in the shallows.

A very nice place to take a early morning or late evening walk. Wonderful place to see wildlife near a residential area.

Bonita Beach is great public access to a wonderful beachfront. There is a large parking lot but it fills up early during season. The parking lot is just steps from the gulf. Water is shallow with sandy bottom. Can swim, sun bath or shell hunt. There are no life guards. A bar and restaurant is within walking distance. Excellent beach for families and you can walk along the shore for miles. Make sure you stay hydrated.

Very long walk to the beach from a very crowded parking area to a very crowded beach, water was rough as some weather was coming in

Beautiful beach! Shells were abundant. We observed herron and pelican on beach. Dolphins swam by. Boogie boards for floating waves aren't high enough.

Love it, the beach is clean, the water is clean. The sunsets are beyond words whatever time of year it is.
If you're lucky you'll get to see dolphins swimming jumping. A tortoise or two.
Turtles come to lay they eggs here or might be lucky to see them hatch and return to the sea.
Love seeing Pelican take their dive or fly in formation. You also see other seabirds.
The gulf water is cold during winter but some people still brave it.
You can always find a nice spot. If it seems crowed when you enter just walk 3-5 mins either way you'll find that great spot.
There are public showers if you need to wash off and rest rooms.
One thing I would like to remind everyone is if you make a sand castle or dig a hole please make sure you leave no trace when you go as this is a nesting ground for the turtles.

Lovely beaches with clear water. Soft white sand that never seems to get scorching hot. Very limited parking. Many times I have been unable park. There are 10 parking lots and most only have a few parking spaces. Disappointed that you can’t park to walk on the beach at night. Dawn to dusk only. Many homes on the beach.

Maybe I should not say this because too many people will want to come and do this. Coming to watch a sunset at Bonita Beach is awesome. Bring a local, we can do this anytime. It never gets boring, it is always beautiful, sometimes s little windy but peaceful to see the sun sink at the horizon of the Gulf of Mexico. Thus should be on your to do list.... never know you might meet a local boy!

Great beach, easy access. Just rather crowded this time of year.Always my go to beach.
And Barefoot beach!

This is a very nice beach. Crowded during "the season" but always nice. I must admit that the saving grace of this beach is Doc's Beach House which makes food and drink a hugely convenient asset. I return to Doc's and Bonita Beach consistently and often.

The two of us enjoy playing cards but are not sun worshipers. There were several areas that we could sit at a picnic style bench under a shaded area and play as long as we wanted. We were close to the water and enjoyed our stay on several occasions.

We just stopped by to see the sunset. Apparently the sunsets here are amazing and we were not disappointed. Access was easy once we found parking.

It’s great place but not advertising enough it should be better solutions for tourists, plus there is not public transport

Moderate size beach, hot day kind of crowded. Lots of broken shells to walk on. Small parking area. Fills up between 10 and 10:30. Pay to park $2 per hour so pick how long you plan to stay. There are public rest rooms. Adjacent to Doc's Restaurant so can beach it and walk down for snack and beer. Also jet ski rentals nearby. The few free beach access points are always filled early so will need to pay, or lots of people staying near by walk in. Lot was thinning out around 3 p.m. so there were spaces. And I assume get busy again in time for sunset.

This was my third time visiting Bonita Beach. I was disappointed this trip bc they didn't have any umbrellas and the water wasn't clear at all. My other trips were after the hurricane and they were always clear but that's something ya gotta love about mother nature, you never know what you're going to get.

We are going to this beautiful beach since 2010. This is one of the best beach in USA base on review.

Easy access and free parking in many spots. Can be a little busy during weekends. Family friendly. Lots of dining opportunities.

Like so much of this coastline, the sane is pure white, the sea glorious blues & greens. The sun was shining, it was warm, what a prefect place to send some time in the fresh air

Clean..room to spread out...can sunbathe ....swim....walk for a long ways on the beach.....feel the breeze off the Gulf..

As someone who enjoys swimming in the ocean, laying out in the sun, and walking barefoot in the sand, I did not enjoy this beach myself much. My brother, on the other hand, loved it. He finally had his hands full (literally) of things to find/do. There are most certainly more shells than actual sand on this beach.

I met friends from Ohio at Doc’s on Bonita Beach and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the beach, the lively conversation with cohorts, and the delicious seafood from Doc’s while sitting at a beachside table being grateful for the gorgeous weather!

after a long drive we enjoyed the beach, even inot being totally sand but lots of shells, many seabirds,

The beach here was uncrowded, clean, had bathroom facilities and was beautiful! I would definitely travel here again!!

Got together with friends while visiting from Ct. Had a great time, nice and clean. Great access to the beach from the gazebos. Grills are also available to beach goers.

Very pleased, some good shell collection, great sunsets, beach is well maintained & clean, lots of beach access & there are little parking lots along the beach,we stayed across from a access so that was really nice.

Teenagers had fun parasailing and aquabiking. Adults relaxed and walked along the water. Parking was easy to find. Plenty of room to spread out on beach. Great day.

Parking can be crowded after 10 am, we liked to be near restrooms so paid 2$/ hour to park. Can walk to Docs Beach House nearbyfor food / drink; rent jet skis and parasail. Also snow cone station near parking lot had cold drinks and some food as well. Decent prices. Sand has lots of shells, so bring sneakers or flip flops. Lots of beach to walk and great views of stunning houses in both directions. Shell collectors paradise.

Loved that the beach wasn't over crowded! Easy access to food and restrooms. The beach is beautiful and well kept, it is rocky/has a lot of shells in parts. Heads up, you cannot drink on the beach, only at the restaurants as we learned!

I traveled the world. I have Been to many places. Went to a lot lot of different beaches around the globe.
Doesn't sound humble at all but it know what's a good beach !
Naples and Bonita beach are the best public beaches you can find.

Visited the gulf coast for possible location for a 2nd home. Bonita Springs was high on my list until I attempted to visit its beaches. After spending an hour looking for parking and actually realizing the low number of parking spaces available - I quickly decided this was not the place for me. It is poor planning by the City of Bonita Springs not to have more parking available- or it is "purposeful" so that the residents of the waterfront mansions do not have to deal with outsiders. BTW there are 10 parking areas- but most of these areas have 3 or4 parking spots - Shameful!!

Early March is a perfect time for beach walking here looking for pretty shells and relaxing. One can understand why it is called Gateway to the Gulf of Mexico . The sand is delicate and white, the view picturesque in every direction.

I love this place also if there are a lot of people .most of them are very educated and kindly persons. They do not make noise as the people in the east coast of Florida . The sunset always is fantastic and romantic

We enjoyed our time spent on the beach. Seemed nice and clean and in the month of May not overwhelmingly busy. We went to Bonita Springs on a couples getaway but can definitely see us bringing our kids down. Great mix of adult and family style vacationing.

This is a spectacular beach with great white sands, shells and clean facilities. best to get there before 10 on a weekend or you will miss a parking spot.

Our favorite beach on the West Coast & that's a hard decision. Last time we actually fed an Hibiscus blossom to a Gopher tortoise. The grandchildren loved it. Stay for high tide & you'll get to see the dolphins come in to feed. Nice boardwalk, clean restrooms & ample parking. Be advised that there's NEVER enough parking during season.

We visit the beach 3 to4 times a week and enjoy it every time. My husband walks the beach with friends and sit and watch people. Also we watch for dolphins and pelicans fish for their lunch. We also go out in the evenings to watch the sun set....the perfect end to the day.

We’ve come here many times. Nicely kept beach with good bathrooms. Alcohol is prohibited, so be careful or use alternative containers. Bring your own chairs and towels. Parking is paid for by the hour. ($2/hr.) The lot to the south is $8 parking for the whole day. If you’re lucky you can get someone to pass their pass along to you. Depends on your arrival time. Doc’s Seaside Restaurant is adjacent and they have good food and rentals too. This beach is an awesome place to catch the sunsets. 🌅

Good beach. Less crowded and easy to find parking if go early around 9-9:30am. Water sports, Restaurants on site.

Nice beach with easy access. Shells are in abundance right now but seem to be patches of sand that give way for a clearer walking on the sand.
Travel early for cheaper spots with easy access to the beach.

Nice beach! Sand was soft and white. Concessions and restroom facilities available. Excursions available. We took advantage of the Bonita Jet Ski and Parasail company. We had a great time. Beach was crowded though.

It’s an amazing beach which is very close to the road. Walkable from the residential community across the road.
Lots of activities available, we did jetski ! It was so much fun!

I got into Bonita Springs in the late afternoon.
I checked into the Homewood Suites, where I was spending the weekend, and then drive to the Gulf Coast.
I had hoped to check out Barefoot Beach, which I had heard a lot about. After driving through a very ritzy neighborhood for about a mile, at a very slow speed, I came to the entrance to Barefoot Beach. It was $8 just to enter and take a look. Since it was late in the afternoon, I asked if there was any other beach in the neighborhood and a local referred me to the Bonita Springs Public Beach.
The public beach is only $2 an hour for parking. Because it was late afternoon, I did not have a problem finding a spot. The posted hours are 7 am to dusk.
I decided to come back the next day. It was a bit cool and I combined the beach with a long morning walk. The distance from the Homewood to the beach is about four miles and I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery along the way. I stopped halfway at the welcome center to get a drink and use the washroom.
Not having to contend with parking was really nice.
The beach is shell strewn and not easy to walk on barefoot. I would suggest bringing beach shoes.
Here is something interesting to be aware of.
All of the beaches are one continuous strip.
So, if you walk south for about a mile or two, you will hit Barefoot Beach.
Bonita Public Beach has water fountains, showers and clean bathrooms.

A gorgeous, white sand beach offers: long walks, fun shelling (and sometimes amazing starfish -please leave there!), Bathroom facilities & showers and Doc's Beach House restaurant just down the way (fun w/OK food; Beer & wine). Get there early or late afternoon for best parking...Very popular!
Sunset cocktails is a wonderful end to a vacation day!

This beach was beautiful the water was clear we saw several dolphins and it was a nice place to relax

Even though the rains were coming every day of our visit...we always enjoyed our walks along Bonita Springs Beach. Just across the way from our resort and so calm and peaceful. People in that area are very low key and friendly, too.

Nice beach with plenty of sand. The beach is clean and not overcrowded. Houses line the beach with a few communities putting out lounges for themselves. Nice beach to walk on. Not a lot of shells but some noted. There is a place to rent jet skis. There is a restaurant on the beach. Parking can be a problem especially in season

This is a very pretty beach. Great place to see a sunset. Parking is close and at a reasonable price.

Closest beach to my house and I love it. Go here a couple times a week. Close to Docs Beach house which has food and drink. Also close to bathrooms.

Went there everyday with 6 couples for one month if weather was good and it was!!! Nice and clean!! Nice to walk and has lots of pretty shells to find.

I really enjoy this beach!!!!! You can see dolphins, manatees, and many shore and sea birds at various times of year. The beach is great year round. I always walk south toward Naples. The beach has less people. Great place to walk. At times the beach can have various shells. Fun beach combing, walking, paddle boarding, swimming or just laying out. Great beach for kids of all ages!!

This is a nice, smaller beach than Ft. Myers. We weren't prepared for all of the shells, so walking up and down was a little difficult without shoes on (we are white sand kind of people). As usual, parking can be a bit of an issue, but if you circle around for awhile, usually one of the early birds is leaving so you can get a spot. They have parasailing and jet ski rentals here too.

The views are amazing! To the south you can see Naples and to the north Ft Myers beach. Walking is excellent especially early morning. There are shelters, picnic tables and clean well-maintained restrooms.

Great beach to visit, clear water, nice white sand, public bathrooms and shelter's with picnic tables and grills to use to make a day at the beach wonderful. The only downside is parking, but parking is always an issue at all the beaches in S.W. Florida. Here you pay by the hour which is great but during weekends and in high season if you do not get there early you will not find a parking spot.
Bonita Beach and sorounding areas were affected by the Red Tide and the beaches are littered with dead fish so when you sit at the beach all you smell is dead fish. They have the nicest sunsets on the west coast of Florida.
