We have been to the old mission peninsula several times but we have never stopped at Bowers Harbor Vineyard. Very nice, like most of the vineyards on the peninsula it is very well maintained, the area is beautiful and the wine flows. They do have a very nice unwooded chardonnay that I tried, very tasty, ended up buying several bottles. If your on the peninsula take the time to check out Bowers Harbor.

We have been to Bowers Harbor Vineyard several times and each time the visit is a bit more pleasant. They have made improvements to the facility that help visits move about easier and to enjoy their time either indoors or outdoors. They have a great selection of wines and we always end up buying a couple bottles to take home. They also have some pretty good ciders.

We had our small wedding party come for a tasting after our ceremony. Our guests loved the wine and enjoyed our time relaxing at Bowers Harbor Vineyards. The staff at Bowers is top notch, they facility is amazing and the wine... Well, its simply some of the best the TC region has to offer. They have the whole packager at Bowers, make every effort to stop by while in the area, you won't be disappointed. During the warmer months there is simply no place to relax and enjoy wine like at BHV.

We did a vineyard tour, which included wine tasting and souvenir glasses. Our tour guide was wonderful. It was obvious that she knows a lot about Bowers Harbor and wine making. We enjoyed our tasting on their lovely outdoor patio. Their chardonnay (aged in oak) is one of the best I’ve ever had, so buttery and delicious! I loved that we could see the lake from the vineyard, it was beautiful and relaxing.

We visited here on our wine tour. The wine was good but if you aren’t a wine club member you are definitely treated different. We were required to sit outside which wasn’t bad because they had a heated tent but you felt excluded.

After having Bowers Vineyard wines at our wedding six years ago, we finally managed to visit the vineyard. Found even more wines that they produce. Some may not be the cheapest, but hey that's ok. Service was great in the tasting room and they even replaced a bottle of cider after I knocked the lid in the car and it leaked a little (without even asking for a replacement). Only trouble is the wine was so good I'm having trouble justifying opening it without a special occasion!

Nearly all the vineyards on the two side by peninsulas above Traverse City are nearly equal. Some are more elaborate but all that we visited had enthusiasm by their workers and a festive atmosphere around the tasting rooms. Noticed that the smart tasters had hired drivers to take their group from one to the other so could sample everything they wanted without having to worry about meeting the law.
A good time but be sure to know your limit.

This was the most expensive vineyard we visited. It was similar to a drive though service with pole barn canopies. Only public facilities were outhouses 😖

This is a small winery, but it is very professionally run and a lovely, lovely location. We highly recommend the pinot grigio.

If you are looking for a great winery to visit, Bowers is it! Beautiful scenery, friendly, knowledgeable staff, and an overall great time!

There's a few wineries in the Mission Peninsula. We are so glad we stopped at this one. The tasting room is small, along with the gift/wine shop. The employee behind the tasting room bar was very friendly and knowledgeable. Her recommendations were spot on. They serve reds, whites (dry & sweet), sparkling wines and hard cider. That was a pleasant surprise. For $3.00 you get 5 tastings, and for an add'l $2.00 you can keep the monogrammed wine glass. Definitely recommend.

Quaint and quiet vineyard with great Old Mission wines and ciders. We were charmed by the sweet German host who conducted our tasting. We joined the wine club and are looking forward to our first shipment!

Beautiful location and good wine. Tasting was only $2 for 5 wines. Did find a couple of that we liked a lot to buy and bring home. Nice gift shop where we were able to buy a few souvenirs.

Always my favorite stop on Old Mission Peninsula’s stunning wine trail. The staff goes above and beyond, the wine and ciders are delicious, great snacks and a family friendly/dog friendly, picturesque setting. This stop is a MUST!

What a wonderful find! Bowers has quickly become my favorite winery in Traverse City. The view is breathtaking and the service is top notch. The tasting room has such a great vibe to it! The staff is extremely welcoming, knowledgable and truly make you feel like part of the family. The wines here are fantastic. My personal favorite is the Proprietors Reserve - an absolutely delicious blend. Try it - you won't be disappointed. If you feel like flipping it up try one of the ciders, very refreshing on a warm day. Back to the ambience - the outdoor chairs overlooking the vast property are my favorite place to sit, relax, sip some wine and enjoy some great conversations (with friends both new and old). Can't wait to make a return trip to Bowers Harbor - aka my happy place!

We had an excellent experience at this winery. It is a very popular winery, but there’s tons of seating outside. We actually sat in an area in the vineyard which was really neat, and not as busy as some of the other areas. The grounds are beautiful. They offer a huge variety of wine so you are sure to find something you like.

We stopped here on our wine tour. There's not a gorgeous view like other wineries but the taste definitely makes up for it. Blueberry apple cider is amazing! Also try cooper!

We loved Bowers Harbor in Traverse City! Their outdoor tasting area was so relaxing! The views are incredible and the wine flights are perfect for groups! We had the Harvest Flight and enjoyed all our wines from the flight! Plenty of seating, but I’d recommend making a reservation on the weekend!

Bowers Harbor Vineyards was very easy for us to love. We were a little concerned about how small the bar was to make our orders at first. There were not a lot of patrons, so the line moved fast, but it was a little cramped in the small bar area. Part of the bar area, the larger part, was not being used while we were here. Once we had our wine orders, we made our way out to find a place to sit on the property within the vineyard. Beautiful area! Pleasing to the eye. Plenty of places to choose in the sitting areas. Relaxing. That’s what we were looking for. Found it! We were all very happy with our wine choices. Deciding to check out Bowers Harbor Vineyards on Mission Peninsula was a dang good choice today. Even with the horrendous Canadian smoke blowing in from the wildfires burning up there and creating a haze on Mission Peninsula, BHV was a great part of our day.

Bowers Harbor Vineyard is in a beautiful location on Old Mission Peninsula just north of Traverse City, Michigan. For years they have been producing some wonderful local wines. Their Reserve Pinot Noir is delicious as are their brandy and ciders. Their grounds are lovely and overlook Bowers Harbor on the West Bay of Grand Traverse Bay. We enjoyed a sampling of five of their wines each and then sat in the sun on their patio taking in the location. It was a wonderful day!

We enjoyed our visit to the winery and vineyards. The weather was perfect so it was a great time to be outside. The wine tasting staff were very knowledgeable. We tried several wines and the cider. We bought a few bottles to enjoy at home.

This was our first stop on a winery tour in Traverse City. We got to try 4 different types of wine and 1 cider for a great value. The scenery is beautiful all around. You're surrounded by rows of grapes. If you're wanting to do a winery tour, this is a great spot to go. The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Michigan has a ton of wineries to choose from, especially in this area. If you only have time to stop at one, go here. The staff was friendly and knowledgable; even pulled out a few bottles from the previous vintage for us to compare from year to year. The tasting was inexpensive, and covered a nice variety of wines. They make something for every palette. View from the tasting room is beautiful; a must see when you are in the area.

Found this Old Mission winery by accident and were very glad that we did. Bowers Harbor Vineyard was a smaller winery that was off the beaten path. The first time we were there they had a tour bus there so things were a bit disjointed and the wait for tastings was a touch long. A separate waitress stand or bar location to purchase single glasses of wine would be most helpful as the tastings are sometimes utter chaos.
After the wait it was a wonderful experience. A lovely french woman walked us through the wines and was just entertaining. The wines were very good and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back the next day just to sit and have a glass of wine.
The chaos scene unfortunately had returned and it was virtually impossible to purchase a glass or to even get to the bar. Again a separate location to purchase wine by the glass would be most helpful.
The other downside was the construction going on outside. Irrigation work I believe. It took away from the romantic outside wine drinking but it was necessary work and it was entertaining after a while.
Once a seat was obtained a server did come, after some time, and offered to get us a second glass of wine. A very nice Riesling was served and a nice leisurely time was spent enjoying the sun, the view and of course the wine.
Even with some distractions this was by far our favorite smaller winery.

Thanks Meg for the wonderful assistance the other day! Although it was almost closing time, we didn't feel rushed at all. Your recommendations were wonderful. Including the dinner suggestion for Stella. Great day!

We found the staff to be not very friendly. Their sample-grouping was the most expensive in the TC area, too. Did not buy any of their wines.

Loved this place! My husband and I brought out 1 year old terrier mix. We loved that we could do a tasting outside with her. The girl that served us knew the wines well and was very warm and welcoming. While I liked several of the wines I tried, the cherry apple cider was my favorite at Bowers. I would love to visit again!

Just love Old Miss Pen and on a Sunday am no one there, sign said closed. A quick serving young lady was nice. Nice place and had a bonfire going already in the am. $5 each for 5 tastes and get glass.
Have come to agree with wife, Black Star has the best tasting sweet wines in our opinion but fun to visit these beautiful places.

We really enjoyed the ciders here. You can really taste the fruit rather than any heavy sweetness went home with quite a few bottles. The staff is super friendly as well. Take a tasting and explore the grounds, so pretty!

We've ordered bowers harbor Chardonnay for years but had never visited the winery. We both had the peach apple cider and it's excellent so we tried the pineapple apple cider and came home with a growler! Whether you like wine or cider you'll be happy! 3 large tasting bars and a by the glass stand as well.

We visited Bowers Harbor years ago, after they had only started out. They were nice then and have only grown better and better over the years! It is a beautiful atmosphere, both inside and outside, great ambiance and a super staff that is wecoming, knowledgeable and friendly. We walked in and immediately we offered chairs at the tasting bar. I am diasabled, use a walker and have a Service Dog. The Manager brought us chairs and took excellent care of us. The minute my dog laid down, someone brought him a bowl of water. The tasting was relaxed and so enjoyable. We ended up tasting, having a glass of wine and buying six bottles. Their check out area/gift shop is very well stocked and organized. The wine was out right in our trunk. Definately don't miss Bowers Harbor if you visit Old Mission Penninsula!

We stopped at this winery not remembering that we had been here about a year-and-a-half ago. last time we were here, it was August on a Saturday and it was packed. We had had only a glass of cider which was very good. This time we try to sampling of red wines and some white wines and fruit wines. It is 5 pours for $5. Very small pour. The wines were good. Fruit wines better.

We really enjoyed our time at this winery, we had a lovely tour of the grounds with a great girl (terrible with names). She gave us a great run down of the history of the winery and the current set up! We then had an extensive tasting session with some lovely wines and ended up on the terrace relaxing with a wine and some cheese and crackers! Very enjoyable and think this place is definitely worth a trip if you’re in the area

Bowers Harbor has alway been a favorite of mine and although this was my first time back since 2015, nothing has changed- it’s still my fav. Otis is one of my favorite Michigan wines and we buy it near our home all the time. The wine, the atmosphere, the snacks, all make it a worthwhile stop. We enjoyed brining our friends from England for a visit to the winery this year. We also had our 16 month old with us and there was a little basket of toys to keep her occupied while we enjoyed a glass of wine.

We stopped for a wine tasting. I'm not a huge fan of Michigan it's usually to sweet. I tried the sparkling it was very good.. Then I tried the hard cider. It was great the Peach-Apple and the Cherry-Apple were all kinds of yummy... I bought a 1/2 gallon to take home... I would go back for more...

One of my favorite wineries on the Old Mission Peninsula, we returned here with our two teenagers and they had a great time. I really appreciate the non-alcoholic flights offered to my under-21 crew (and they staff member also pointed out pregnant ladies appreciate the option as well). The wines are great and they always have the white fish dip that is to-die for. We had a great time here! Shout out to fellow Hillsdale charges who own this place. Aumni (and current student!) were in your house.

We go to TC several times a year, and this winery is a must every single time. They are welcoming, casual, encourage you to stay and have a drink and also have fantastic wine. Additionally, their wine club allows you bonuses in the tasting room, flexibility in your wine choices, and the ability to have Bowers Harbor wine when not in TC. Hands down the best spot on Mission.

This is one of my favorite stops on the Old Mission Peninsula. The tasting room and outdoor space was recently renovated giving even better views of the vineyard and the bay. Bowers offers a variety of wines and it's not hard to select one to drink by the glass in their outside space.
Mrs. Dog's Sweet & Spicy mustard is for sale in their store. We purchase a jar every year. It is phenomenal on sandwiches and a little goes a long ways!

We visited this winery a couple of days ago and were quite disappointed. The tasting flights were pre-selected with NO option to switch out the choices. I would give the ambiance of this place a zero. If you are deciding which of the many wineries to visit, I’d recommend skipping this one.

Had a absolute perfect time here, 5 course meal with wine pairing in the middle of a vineyard. Great food, excellent wine and good company, do not miss this.

Liked the winery but the wine pours were too small to determine the quality. They took our wine pours away before we were done...we were looking at the views.

Our first wine tasting adventure. They were very friendly and helpful explaining about the different wines. It is very rustic inside with so many to choose from. The also have a fire pit outside and tables to sit an enjoy a glass. it is located right in the vineyard. Can't wait to go back.

Visited here on our trip to traverse city and the wine was good but not great. The whites were noteworthy but nothing to write home about with the reds.
Hostess for the tasting had knowledge but it could have been more informative.

Brix Bubbly is a favorite! Even got a treat for my dog while there. Looking forward to returning soon and spending more time there.

Bowers makes wine tasting delicious. Their product is high quality, but the tastings are an excellent experience... they will teach you about wine in a fun, engaging manner. A must stop if visiting wineries in the TC area.... drive there and back is brief but very breathtaking views - so enjoy that as well.

Friendly staff , well acquainted with the wines that they served. Liked that if you said you liked one they could identify what your favorite wines probably were.

This spot on old mission has great up close seating to the vineyard and with a reasonably diverse menu you can enjoy a few hours of Up-north wine country.

The last few years my wife and I have taken trips to Traverse City and gone to winery's. We have been to most on the peninsula and this is by far the best vineyard we have been to. The staff is polite and helpful and the location is beautiful. And most importantly they have amazing wine. The 2013 Riesling block II is my favorite.

I recently visited Bowers Harbor on my latest trip to Traverse City. I have been coming to this Vineyard for years and it never disappoints. It is in my top five of favorite vineyards in TC. They are so friendly and accommodating and they have amazing wines and now ciders! A must go to when visiting Traverse City, I highly recommend it! 🍷

Cool tasting room and some nice wines. Love to swing by when they have events as they really take advantage of their space. Love being able to grab a bottle and enjoy it outside on their patio. Just wish there was more parking and more elbow room at the tasting bar. Best to come on a weekday or the off season.

A lovely little winery. My daughter and I visited here on our wine weekend in Traverse City. We enjoyed a glass of wine as well as a short walk near the vineyard. Would def stop here again.

This was my first time " wine tasting" and I loved it ! We got 5 tastings for $5.00, very resonable. Beautiful scenery and warm cozy tasting area. Many options for shopping and wine purchases.

I love this place. The people and atmosphere are great. The "bleach" (peach and blueberry cider combined) is so good!

I enjoyed a break from wine tasting with a glass of their yummy cider! Very knowledgeable staff and good service.

Awesome staff that were helpful and filled with knowledge about the winery and it's history. Cozy casual atmosphere with a great view of the vineyard! Offered lots of options to take off site (bottles of cider, snacks, artwork). Loved the family feel!

Bowers Harbor Vineyards is a must stop on the OMP wine trail - great wines, excellent staff, and amazing setting. Kristy and her team go over the top to ensure everyone has an excellent time and feels at home!

Wine flights expensive, generous pours, wine above average.. No bathrooms with running water, only porta John that part was very disappointing!

This was my favorite stop. Our hostess was so nice and friendly along with the rest of the staff. The Otis wine is my favorite but I tried Cooper this time around . Enjoyed hearing the story behind the names of the dog wines. This is a must stop on your wine tasting trips.

Great small vineyard, especially known for their rieslings. They are now perfecting a very nice line of fruit ciders. In the "early days," their signature dogs roamed the vineyard--but they have passed on. Newer dogs reside offsite, takes away a little of the old atmosphere. A casualty of rules and regs, no doubt!

We had a great time tasting wines with Kristy! She has so much knowledge on all the wines and the vineyards. We have really enjoyed our wine club membership and enjoy coming back time after time.

One of our stops on our snowshoe hike wine &brew tasting adventure. Bowers Harbor was beautiful and a great stopping place. Amazing wines and ciders here. Couldn’t leave without the Blueberry Apple Cider. The fire pit was a great place to warm up with friends before we set out on our next stop.

Beautiful setting. Flights were a bit pricey. Wine is average. But honestly, we don't go for the quality of the wine. We go for the experience and ambiance. Bowers Harbor delivers on that. As it's basically impossible to get full bodied dry red in Ohio/MI, stick to the sweet/fruit wines, and you'll be more satisfied!

This winery was 3rd on my tour & highly recommended by my guide, Jim. This is where we had lunch alfresco. I did a tasting while eating. The wines were excellent. the server was very congenial and knowledgeable. I liked their Pino Grigio so much, I ordered it at the restaurant I dined in that evening. the property is beautiful!! I definitely recommend visiting this winery!!

Wonderful wine tasting experience in a beautiful vineyard setting. Great views of the West Bay, this winery is a must visit while on the Old Mission Peninsula.

This winery is another Traverse City treasure. Take in the scenery when you order a glass of wine from your table outside. I enjoyed the tasting because the older gentleman was very knowledgeable and very patient. I purchased one of their red wines.

Hard to say what Bowers Harbor received a TripAdvisor award for...we waited for 25 minutes & received one tasting. We felt virtually invisible, asked for our money back & barely received an apology. Not sure what the other guests had that we didn't, but won't be back to find out.

It's one of our quaintest, smaller wineries, which is a nice change. Besides enjoying wine on the covered veranda, I most enjoy the family dog there (Brix)- when he's out and about.

What a special afternoon at Bowers. We had a group of 11 and they greeted us at the front. They allowed us to sit at one of there picnic tables and have our lunch and at the same time enjoy their wine samplings. They really made our experience at the vineyards memorable. Thank you for not being so commercial and accomidating use with a relaxing experience.

We travel up to MI from MO every summer and we ALWAYS have to make time to stop at Bowers Harbor. Their wine is fantastic, the location is beautiful... the kids and dogs relax at a picnic table outside with books and snacks. We have done tastings inside and outside over the years. Such a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere. And the wine has never disappointed. Bowers Harbor wines have always been so good that we not only purchase several moderately priced bottles...but this is the winery that we usually purchase our 'splurge' bottle at too! You won't be disappointed.

After having a bad experience at another winery on Old Mission, this winery was everything we were looking for. The parking was very well organized and they had workers directing you on where to park. We were able to go to the bar immediately to sample their great selection of wines. The bartender was super friendly and very helpful. She explained all our options and looked like she was having a fun time working there. There were a lot of other groups sampling at the same time as us, but our bartender made sure we didn't feel left out or forgotten. The atmosphere of this place is very laid back and casual. The other visitors were also very friendly. The winery also had an outdoor heated tent area were we sat for a while to watch the U of M/MSU game with other visitors. Super friendly/helpful staff as well. We will definitely be coming back to this winery during our next trip!

We visited Bowers Harbor on 6.11.16 for my Bachelorette Party. We had a group of 12 of us and we had our tastings at the outside shelter that over looked the vineyards. We loved the set up of this place and they were the only winery on our tour that let us take our glass home with us.

The wine is great, especially cab franc and Pinot Grigio. The people there are friendly and helpful. Kristy is awesome! The view spectacular!

This was the 2nd stop on our Traverse City Beer and Wine Tour. We arrived around 5pm, and the outdoor service area was spectacular. There was plenty of shade, and a nice breeze. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They had 5 glass flights to choose from, and wine by the glass as well. They did have an outdoor restroom and they took our safety very seriously. I am already planning my return trip!! Great Job!!

I have tried their peach, apple and blueberry Spirit Ciders and they are better than Short's Starcut ciders by a long shot. Try a flight and take a tour you won't be sorry.

This is a very pretty place!! The grounds are quite large and they really give access to different areas, for example they have some tables to enjoy wine right in the rows of their grapevines. We weren't overly impressed by their wines and felt there were better tastes on the peninsula but that is just our opinion, we saw many others buying bottle after bottle so it is a matter of personal choice. We will definitely go back to visit this friendly and beautiful place

Lots of great wines to try at Bowers Harbor. 5 tastes for $5. My favorite part after tasting is getting a glass of my favorite wine and sitting in the outside seating overlooking the vineyard and harbor. They stream music outside, which adds to the experience. FYI if you buy a glass of wine you get to keep the wine glass!
Cheese and small plate options available if you like. They also make ciders that you can sample.

After checking out all the wineries on the peninsula, this was the most expensive for tastings. They had preselected fights to choose from- dry, sweet or ciders. After seeing the price, we were almost going to leave. They had one flight of four for $40 and other flights around $20 with some wines on the flight that they were out of. After getting a flight, we fell in love with their Riesling. We were pleasantly surprised to find that some of the wines themselves were reasonably priced around $28. Our server did not offer much information on the wine, but the wine itself was good and the patio was inviting to taste on.

One of our favorite stops on our wine bus tour...very personable and welcoming staff that gave us a very individualized tasting experience in the back barn overlooking the vineyards. Good wines and scenic views of the bay on a beautiful day.

Stopped here on a wine tour with a great group of girl friends. The setting, service and wine were outstanding. Would recommend to anyone! Thank you for a great experience.

Stopped here on a rainy Saturday and had a great experience and stayed dry and warm. There is a nice bar inside for tasting and even some college football watching. There was an outside area equipped with two bonfire patio heaters to keep everyone warm on a cold wet day.
Staff is very friendly and welcoming. There are a fair amount of reds and whites to try, however this is the only winery I've been to with multiple cider to taste as well.
I really enjoyed the 2012 Pinot Noir, Nicholas.

My all time favorite! Wine and staff are amazing. I actually just got engaged there! The staff went above and beyond to make the day a dream come true.

We spent a rainy day at the Vineyard wine tasting. The wine was really good and the staff were very helpful, and we bought some nice merchandise from the store (glasses, wine bottles and wine rack). The cherry salsa was also very good.
We were sad to hear that the Vineyard dog, Brix, was moved to a property a mile away due to regulation purposes.
The area surrounding the Vineyard is also very beautiful for sight-seeing. Great for a day out if staying in the Traverse City area!

reviews were great, stopped by on a raining day so there was not a crowd. But the server / sampler man behind the bar could not have cared less.... the only concern was did you pay your $ and have many taste have you had.
The place is beautiful and some of the wine was tasteful -- hope you have a better experience then we did

AMAZING wine and atmosphere! Prices are reasonable too. We stop by every time we are in town. Great outdoor patio area that often has a guitar player. Gorgeous views of the vineyards!

My husband and I were up in Traverse City visiting the wineries. This was my favorite one so far. It's super cozy and on a beautiful setting. The wine was phenomenal and the servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back again!

My boyfriend and I visited this friendly and beautiful winery on a late Monday afternoon in November. It wasn't a busy time of the year or week but we were welcomed and treated so kindly by friendly and knowledgeable host, Tyler (not only with wines but also on local restaurants, hidden gems and places to watch sunset).
Since this was our first wine tasting in Traverse City, Tyler did a phenomenal job in explaining the differences in grapes, how they are cultivated and this region's specialties which are mostly whites. I am usually a red wine drinker and spoiled by the plentiful of tasty wines in California. I was very impressed by their Reisling and Gewurztraminer wine (wines we don't get often in California and if we do, they are usually on the sweeter side).
This is a must visit if you are in the area and you'll be delighted by the winery's beauty, wonderful wine and most importably, the host who made you feel like a family member visiting from out of town, even though you are meeting for the first time.
Thank you for an unforgettable visit, we'll be back for sure!

Beautiful grounds, and the wine and ciders were delicious. This whole peninsula is beautiful with all of the vineyards and orchids. Check your hotel for a coupon for this place. We found it too late, but could have had buy one get one tastings and additional discount off bottles.

We went to the vineyard with family members who will be moving to Traverse City. We decided to try a cider flight with raspberry cherry and blueberry ciders. I've come to like cider quite a lot in the last year, but these "other" kinds of cider were amazing and the blueberry was very memorable. SO I would suggest by all means try their wines! But don't overlook the cider!

Stopped here on a Sunday to taste the cider. You get 5 tastings for $2 which is less $ than the surrounding vineyards. Tasting was prompt and friendly.
The cider started with the apple - which is a combo of 7, followed by the peach, blueberry, and one other I can't quite remember. I like the apple the best, so I took home a pint.
Beautiful location, great seating area. I like the "Otis" dog on the bags.

We enjoyed our visit to Bowers. Kevin was very helpful and knowledgeable about their wines. Enjoyed the patio overlooking the vineyard, nice that they had some cheese, olives, etc to pare with your wine if you desired. A great way to spend an afternoon.

We visited this vineyard during our couples weekend. The wine was ok, but the views of the lake and country side were beautiful.

Always stop here when in the Traverse City area. We stopped and they no longer do tastings but only pre selected flights and glasses of wine. Their four flights were priced from 24 to 40 dollars. And were 4 and 5 glass flights of two ounces..We refuse to pay this much especially when probably one would not like every wine that was on the flight.. We found them to be one of the highest priced in the area. I think some of the area wineries are price gouging and taking advantage of the Covid situation.. There are other wineries down the road who still are doing tastings and you pick what you want to taste,, we did our purchasing from these wineries. Bowers Harbor please return to your old business model. When you do we will return till then we will avoid entering your door..

Beautiful grounds, cool outdoor tasting areas, love dogs so I really love the theme. Our wine pourer Kevin was so personable and outgoing and really knew his stuff. He even added a wine to our tasting that he thought I would like based on our conversation, which I ended up LOVING!! Bought four bottles of it. He was great. He gave special attention to everyone he poured for and he was pouring for multiple people at once.

had always been one of our favorite spots... not this time. Very disorganized at tasting bar. Asked us to stand at end of bar then kept getting moved every 5 minutes so they could get past us to set up their outside tasting area.... glad you are getting that set up but hello, we're paying customers already here????
Tasting took forever.... never like that before.
Must be they are going down hill didn't seem to give a damn whether customers were there or not. I'm so disappointed!!

Get a lot of tasting for cheap (6 for $2 I believe). Wine was fair. Did fine a 2 we liked. Location is beautiful and did ok having a toddler although not as kid friendly as LFC in the Village

Always love this place, the setting is stunning obviously, but more than that, it’s run by the kindest, most down to earth people. And don’t even get me started on the Block II Riesling! Worth a stop every time. Don’t miss it!!

A beautiful vineyard. We visited during the CoVid pandemic but were allowed to sit at picnic tables with umbrellas set up in the middle to the vines of grapes! Make a reservation or you won't be able to be accommodated if there are more than 6 of you. I did make reservations so we were fine. and we were a party of 18. Also call the vineyard if arriving by bus. They need to know that ahead of time. it is very well organized and everything went off without a hitch. Well worth the visit!

This was always one of our favorites. Now the inside is for "VIP" only, ok whatever. If you're looking for a flight, you have to now choose from different pre selected cider/wine samples. You simply cannot pick and choose your own samples you'd like to sample for your "flight". It seems they have shifted their focus on their "event tent" for special events rather than the every day Joe coming to visit their establishment and sample wine/cider of their choice.

We took a trip up Old Mission Peninsula for an impromptu wine tasting. This was by far the best spot. The staff were so friendly and really took the time with you explaining all the selections.

This is my favorite Michigan winery! I hesitate to write a great review here because I love the small-scale feel of Bower's and don't want it to get too busy for me to fit into the tasting room! Really though, it is well worth a quick detour down into the valley from the main road on Old Mission Peninsula.
Bower's Harbor is a family winery and it shows. While they've grown over the years, they've also kept the small homey & natural feel that makes it so inviting. You can sit or walk amongst the vines while sipping on your wine, they have three options for tasting bars depending on the size of the day's crowd. There's a covered tasting area for group events or scheduled tastings. I really enjoy the wine club perks, and this is the only winery that I've loved consistently enough to join the club.
I love their whites, especially Cooper & unoaked chardonay, but the pinot secco is my favorite summer sipper, perfect with the super light bubbles.

We thoroughly enjoyed this winery over all the others we visited on Old Mission Peninsula. The wines were delicious, the staff friendly and informative and the place was peaceful and beautiful. The tastings were $5/5 tastes and you get to keep the glass (best deal by far). If you have only one winery stop on Old Mission Peninsula this would be it.

I love the atmosphere, people, wine....and you will too!! Our bachelorette party made a reservation and had a table all to ourselves on the back patio. The service was wonderful, the ice wine is fantastic and they have a good selection of tasty snacks. I cannot tell you how much we loved it, you have to see for yourself!! Thanks for the pictures!!!

Didn’t go yet however no where on the website once you choose a tour does it say the start time for meeting up with the bus.
I had to call TripAdvisor who in turn put me on hold to contact the tour company.
This imfomation is MOST important for maximizing a trip. I just chose one at random and a safe bet is that they all start at noon and no Saturdays. So I was told.

This is one of the few wineries on OMP that is not known for its water views. Do not let that deter you from visiting!
I always tell people Brys has the best wines on OMP, but Bowers Harbor is not far behind (has a much better selection than Bonobo and Mari). The grounds are some of the best amongst all NoMI wineries, and you are able to explore the grounds and vineyard with a glass in hand. They have a large selection of wines, and typically still have a few bottles of older vintages for sale too. It can get busy at times, but this is a top winery choice for me on OMP. Staff have always been great and manage the crowds well. There is a makeshift golf hole on site too!

The atmosphere is great. The staff is absolutely the best! The wine is great and their hard cider is amazing!! A must see when on Old Mission!!

We did wineries all day but Bowers Harbor was the BEST
Very friendly and knowledgable staff
Great white,rose and red wines
We especially enjoyed the patio overlooking the vineyard having Cabernet Franc
We were there for over 2 hrs..................

We are in town for a month each summer and always stop at Bowers at least 6 times. It is even better in late fall.

We thoroughly enjoyed the lobster dinner in the vineyard. A few pointers for those attending a similar event at BHV: wear your sunglasses, bring your camera/phone, if wearing heels wear chunky ones (you'll be walking on grass/hard dirt).
Dinner was in a gorgeous setting. My only "complaint" was that the initial greeting/paying was sort of unorganized and lengthy.
Overall I'd highly recommend attending any event here. Don't forget to buy a case of wine afterwards.
Please give me a helpful vote! Thnx.

The look and feel of this place is what makes it for us, the rustic feel of an old Vinyard, the trelace covered in foliage and of course the wine and hard ciders. This is our favorite Vinyard in all of TC. The staff (Richard) was very friendly and hrlpful. The peach apple cider is worth it in its own entirety. A must stop!

The young man presenting our tastings was very knowledgeable about their wines. We enjoyed his descriptions of the tastes of the various wines. We purchase some bottled wine after the tasting.

This is our favorite Winery to visit while in the mission peninsula. Really nice tasting room and great wines.

Bowers Harbor is our favorite vineyard on Old Mission. Love the atmosphere and the beautiful setting. The wine it good too! Our friends enjoyed the hard cider. We were there during the MSU/UofM game and they had TV's outside for people to enjoy the game. Very accommodating and welcoming. Can't wait to go back!

Very pretty location for a group. Individuals are in a bar area not far from the parking lot but groups get a pretty covered location a little farther out. The wine was good and Cheryl, our pourer was very nice but I guess I was hoping for a vineyard experience rather than just a tasting. I wish we could have seen grapes and some of the winemaking but we didn't see any of that. If it makes any difference, we just walked up and didn't make a reservation. Maybe they offer more if you plan in advance.

I like a sweeter wine and I really liked their Cooper wine. A great suggestion from the staff. We enjoyed the chairs and view from the outdoor seating area. Cute little gift shop as well. Don’t miss this one!

Try the cider!! This is the best! Grapefruit is so crisp! Its a great one to have! The harvest flight was just as tasty! A must place!

A must visit vineyard on beautiful Old Mission Penninsula! Named for the owners love of dogs,I love the open air pavilion, and the bon fire pit. A unique inviting experience to taste some award winning wine, and cidar. Be sure to take a bottle of your favorite home.

Took a Sunday drive along the Old Mission Peninsula and saw the sign for Bowers Harbor Vineyard and decided to check it out. While the grounds were not the best (overlooks the town recreation fields), the wines certainly were in comparison to the other vineyards we have visited both on Old Mission Peninsula and in San Diego, CA. We especially loved the 2015 Estate Cuvee and the 2016 Block II Riesling. Neither one were overly heavy or sweet as is often the case with Rieslings. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. Go to Chateau Chantal for the view, but DEFINITELY come here for the wine!

We were able to use a coupon from our hotel for this place. Loved the wine. There are a few things you can purchase to eat if you like. There is a fire pit you sit down next to and enjoy the scene.

I recently visited Bowers Harbor with some family and had a wonderful experience! The ambience is so welcoming and comfortable, the views are phenomenal and the service is top notch! Nice selection too! Definitely put this on the top of your list to visit you while on Mission Peninsula.

One of my favorite stops on the tour and some of the best tasting wines in the peninsula. It was fairly crowded inside, but they had a great spot on an outside patio for sampling wine. We got to enjoy the views of the vineyard and with a pleasant day, it was great.
I loved that they were knowledgeable about the wine varietals, even explaining the rough conditions this area had to grow grapes the last couple years. It was fascinating to learn about the wine making process, and to understand more abou the business.
The wines were fairly priced, especially compared to some of the other wineries around. I took more home from here, than any other winery.
A must stop on the Old Mission Peninsula.

We really enjoyed our wine tasting and appreciated how we quickly got in considering how busy it was. Staff was very knowledgeable and if you join their club you get two tastings free as well as two glasses of wine. Love the theme to dogs and how one even donates to humane society with proceeds from the sale of that bottle. Would love to return when it’s not so busy it they still did a great job being busy.

I have been to Traverse City to visit my brother three times in the past two years and we go to Bowers Harbor Vineyard each time. Not only is it my favorite as a tourist, it's my brother's (and his girlfriend's) favorite as locals.
The place is just beautiful, with a welcoming arbor and beautiful views of rolling hills, the bay, and the vines as you walk into the tasting room. The tasting room itself is built with natural materials, lots of wood and stone, and is open and airy, with the bar facing large windows that look out at that gorgeous view.
The wines and the ciders are also fantastic. My favorite thing to do here is to sample wines with a tasting and then order a glass of cider to go sit outside (there are tables interspersed throughout the vineyard and on the patio out front) and wander through the vines.
I LOVE IT HERE!
So comfortable, welcoming, and just an overall enjoyable and memorable experience. A can't miss!

Nestled in the vineyard overlooking the beautiful hills of the peninsula, their knowledgeable staff guide you through a tasting of wines and hard cider. A nice variety, and I particularly enjoyed the cider. There is a pretty patio where you can enjoy a glass of wine afterwards.

Bowers Harbor is only doing flights and glasses right now and service is all outside…in Northern Michigan…in the winter. They have an outdoor heated pavilion, but when it is 20 degrees outside, it was still cold in there. The wine has been sitting outside too so it was cold. I don’t think red wines are supposed to be served at freezing temperatures…

We love Bowers Harbor - we live about 3 hours away but make the trip to the Traverse City area a few times a year at least. We love all of the wineries on old Mission, but BH is the one where we feel most at home. My husband and I felt that so much that we became wine club members on a trip last June. Staff is so down to earth and friendly. They really give you the time of day. Wine isn’t over priced and makes it approachable to the every day wine lover. Grounds are relaxed and walkable. Having my little boys with me doesn’t feel like an intrusion to their space. They even had toys and coloring books available for our use (and pretzels and cherry soda, which my 3 year old loved). While other wineries might boast architecture and prestige, BH boasts high quality wine and the feeling that you belong. It’s an experience that you won’t forget!

My family and I have made it a tradition to visit the tasting room every year over the holidays. The tasting room looks out over the vineyards to the harbor. It's on the small side, but the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, it's always a good time. The wines are fantastic, I love their sweet whites, Rose and the Brix sparkling wine. The wines I sampled all had a wonderful fruity flavor, very refreshing. I left with a case of wine and a few pints of cider. This place I'm sure would be gorgeous in the summer. We will be back for sure!

The staff is amazing the winery is very humble without stuffiness making the time here very comfortable and easy not pretensioous making all very comfortable and truly enjoyable not impressed with the ciders. we did not try the wines ..

My favorite stop on our wine tour, by far! This winery is very quaint and beautiful. Our group of 7 was greeted immediately by Garrison and was led to where we would proceed with a wine tasting. Garrison was very friendly, funny and very knowledgeable about the vineyard and the wine he was serving. We are dog lovers, so we were all pleased to see how the family dogs make an appearance not only on the wine bottles, but also in cute ways around the winery itself! I would recommend stopping at this location to anyone visiting the Traverse City area.

Felt like a mom and pop kind of place. No pretense, down to earth. This is not a fancy place, which I liked, however the wine wasn't to my liking and the amount they gave us was barely enough to taste. We did pick up a 2 for 1 coupon at our hotel though. Their tasting price was 5 wines for $5 bucks. Overall just average. If this was helpful let me know.

We love this winery! We are wine club members and they treat you so wonderfully. It’s a beautiful location in any season. Kristie and Steve were super helpful with our tasting selections. During our winter trips we love getting a glass and sitting by the fire or hanging in the heated shelters where we can meet new friends. This place is a must stop on your visit to Old Mission Peninsula. Our favorite wines are the Chardonnay reserve and the 2896.

I almost don't want to write this review because the place might get too crowded !! - we love the friendly staff, the views and especially the wine (wish they still had the dogs all the time....)

This was the last stop on our afternoon tour. Kristy was an outstanding server - thoughtful, knowledgeable and fun. The atmosphere was comfortable and the view lovely. We loved the wines and Kristy had some excellent specials so we bought the most here. Highly recommended for the quality and service!

Love the atmosphere at this winery. It was this first time we've visited and being a Sunday afternoon, it was very busy. Because it was so busy the servers did not really take the time to engage in conversation and we did not get much information about the winery, the wines, or the wine club (which I only heard about after we had visited). We will certainly give it another try on our next visit to the area - maybe try to get a spot on the patio to enjoy the views. Even though this visit was just "average", I am rating Bowers Harbor a "very good" based on the good vibe at this winery and the potential for an even better experience next time around.

Things are different right now with Covid, but this vineyard is managing to do wine tastings in spite of it. It’s best to make an online reservation but if it’s not a peak time on a weekend, you can probably walk in. Everything is outside so pick a time when the weather is cooperating.. flights are available as are glasses of wine..
I like their Pinot Grigio. I’ve been drinking that at some restaurants around town.. Riesling is okay too..
The grounds themselves offer a view of bowers harbor in the distance. It’s not too far out on the peninsula so not that far to drive from TC..

Bowers Harbor has been a favorite of ours for several years. The wines are outstanding, the location is beautiful and the staff is always very friendly. We have never been disappointed and will continue to visit each year!

I have been tasting their wine for years and it gets better every time I visit. The location is beautiful and they have snacks and by the glass also....over the years I have gotten to meet some of their beautiful dogs which is always a treat.

Some wines are named for family pets. "Otis" is a favorite. There is also "Brixs" and "Cooper"...
A fun stop to a family run vineyard...

We visited Bowers Harbor as part of our wine tasting with the Sunday Safari Supper through Traverse City Brew Bus. Sitting outside under an arbor, Lindsey our hostess, shares the vineyard’s story as we sample wines (Brix –medium sparkling wine, Pinot Grigio, Riesling-Smokey Hollow, Shiraz, and Unoaked Chardonnay) and ciders (Blueberry-Apple, Cherry-Apple, and Peach-Apple). An hors d’oeuvres tray provided by the Boathouse Restaurant assisted in the wine tastings. Before heading for the bus we stroll through the vineyards and scenic views of West Grand Traverse Bay and the vineyards. .

Visited this winery on a winery tour. This was by far my favorite. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Made us feel welcome and at home. The staff we so outstanding, and the wine and cider were delicious. The outdoor seating is beautiful here. I would highly recommend that if you are in the area, you visit this winery for a nice time and delicious wine and cider.

Bowers Harbor Team is always friendly, accommodating and makes each experience yours to enjoy! I have been to Bowers several times and they never disappoint! Not to mention the wine, especially the Rose, is incredible!

We did the wine tasting. The Syrah was amazing. After the tasting we walked around the vineyard. Great wine and great views.

We visited the area over the last couple of days and chose Bowers Harbor because of their selection of hard ciders and of course, the wine! My husband has really been enjoying different ciders! I chose the Flagship Flight of Wine and my husband chose the 7 Apple, cherry apple and peach apple flight of ciders! The young lady behind the bar was super knowledgeable and guided us in our selection. The grounds are beautiful and can get a peek of Lake MI as well! We will definitely be back!

The wine selection was very broad and many of the wines they had were quite good. The owner and employees of the vineyard were very friendly and knowledgeable.

I can't even explain how much I love BHV! It's so relaxing to get a drink and walk around their beautiful vineyard. You can tell that the staff of Bower's genuinely love their jobs, and the people that come to visit them. We've been to one of their Dining in the Vines events and it was beyond fantastic!!! We have visited and tasted at every vineyard in and around Traverse City, and this is BY FAR the best, to us! Wonderful wines, and awesome ciders! Great service, hospitality, location, and atmosphere. I daydream about heading back to sit on their porch and drink some cider.
Cheers!

What a view!! This was our second stop on a winery tour and we're so glad they were on the tour! We had a personal winery guide who gave us great recommendations (Mike at The Magic Shuttle Bus) and let us just take our time enjoying the tastings, the awesome view and conversation with the great staff. We are sorry Lucy wasn't there to pet and hope to meet her next time! We will definitely go back to this winery. What a special place!

This is our favorite winery on the peninsula. Our first experience was a private wine tasting in 2014 and our sommelier was awesome. We fell in love with the place and have been going back ever since. A couple of years ago we became wine club members so we can enjoy BHV wine throughout the year. We highly recommend stopping in for the delicious wine and beautiful view!

Best winery to visit on the grand traverse peninsula caters to families dogs welcome too would recommend as a stop on your winery tour

I so enjoy visiting Bowers Harbor Vineyard. The staff is always so nice and welcoming. The new updates to accommodate more people are great. It is always so relaxing to get a glass of wine and sit outside surrounded by the vineyards. On a recent trip, they brought out a bottle of sparkling raspberry juice for our kids and let them keep the fun glasses that they served it in. Our tasting time with Justin was fun and very informative. Thanks for another great experience!

A small group of us decided to go wine tasting and this was our first stop, and by far, the best. $5 got us 5 tastes and a complimentary wine glass. The wine was very good and the staff was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. It was a smaller winery, but I enjoyed the fact that there wasn't a wait and it wasn't overly busy. We also, enjoyed the giant Bernese Mountain Dogs walking around! The view was also amazing. There was a wonderful patio where you could sit and look at the vineyards and the bay.

Nice winery w some of our favorite wines. $5 for 5 tastings but u get to keep your glass. Very friendly staff.

This winery had a lovely atmosphere and decent wines. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable with suggestions. Great experience!

Entry- One of the most beautiful winery entries belongs to this winery.
Wine- we are Wine club members because they do a great job across many varieties.
Cider- we buy every time we come
Steven- excellent, knowledgeable, personable promoter of his wines as well the industry itself.

We have visited here for some 9 years and have seen their tasting room grow and improve in size. Madeline the wine steward/customer service person has been their a while and knows her business and is extremely customer friendly....love working with her. Their Meritage Blend of 2896 is wonderful...as is their Apple Ice Cider....what a wonderful taste...enjoy.

We really enjoyed the wines here at Bowers Harbor. Beautiful views here! Staff was very friendly and if I remember correctly it was only $5-$7 for a tasting.

It is 2 dollars for 5 tasting. It is our first stop of the wine tasting in the area. The staff is kind and friendly. The dessert wine is our favorite. It also has a nice balcony looking to the vineyard.

As the title says, this is our favorite winery on the peninsula. This time we brought our 10 month old son. Don't judge. We were glad we did though. The people were so friendly and loved making him smile and enjoy it there. Their wine is amazing. We brought home some Chardonnay and Peach cider. We were disappointed though to learn the dogs are no longer allowed :( At any rate we can't wait to come back!

My wife loves Bowers Harbor Pinot Grigio so when in the area we visited the Vineyard. Certainly sampled some solid Michigan wines but really liked the flavored apple cider that was on tap. They are willing to mix several - blueberry/peach was a hit with the group. Walked out with several bottles of Pinot Grigio, cider, and fond memories.

Stopped by this vineyard while staying at Chateau Chantal...how delightful! A small area for wine tasting, however, enjoyed the wine & great cider...we purchased some cheese & salami for $2.50 each which went well with the tasting! The view and atmosphere was beautiful...very relaxing to sit outside in rocking chairs enjoying the surroundings!

friendly staff, great outdoor seating, great place to hang out, have a glass of wine or cider and watch sunsets,, they are spectacular!! If you are hungry they offer food items also..meat, cheese, crackers, salsa, chips....dips

Stopped in on a whim, and was so glad we did! The wines are top notch and the staff is as well! Our guide for the tasting was very friendly and knowledgeable as well. Absolutely have to come back again!

This place has always been my favorite. It is so welcoming and just an overall fun atmosphere! I can go back anytime!

Thank you Todd and Tyler for making my job as a wine tour guide easy! My group was so happy with the selection and service that they stocked up on some great wine and joined the wine club... they also loved the peach and BlackBerry cider! Thanks again, Mike- Magic Shuttle Bus

I’ve been going to this winery for 15 years. What I like about it the most is that it’s off the beaten path and offers a very subdued casual atmosphere compared to other wineries that try to wow you with their architecture and upscale atmosphere. They have a great selection of dry and sweet wines. Parking is very limited, and they do not have a very large room or area for indoor eating or tasting, but if you are looking for a very nicely priced great wine and atmosphere to taste it, this place is worth finding. They have a very nice late harvest Riesling if you are into that type of wine.

My wife and I stopped at Bowers Harbor on our Peninsula wine tour. Even though they were pretty busy we were noticed right away and service was very friendly. Nice choice of white wines, a good stop.

Nice place and location. The wine was average. The staff was helpful in that she regurgitated the standard description of wines you hear at a lot of wineries. She was also preoccupied with other tasks which was a bit annoying. They do have a small outdoor seating area to enjoy a glass of wine, but the views do not do justice to the surrounding landscape.

We had a great time at Bowers Harbor. We "tasted" quite a few excellent wines and bought 2 bottles of dry white (we had never been white wine drinkers until we had Bowers Harbor whites). The staff members are very knowledgeable and friendly.

I'm glad we took the time to find Bowers Harbor. I was a bit surprised to find the ciders in addition to the tasty wines. We brought back a couple of bottles of the cider. The wines were good, but like many wineries in Michigan, not that good a value. You can get stuff from the more well known wine areas at your local shop for similar prices. The people were friendly and we enjoyed our visit here.

Five of us went to this vineyard to taste their wine. They have 4 or 5 groupings of wine and when you pick the grouping you want to try you get 5 pours. Pricy compared to other vineyards I’ve visited on the peninsula. You can also purchase a single glass of wine which some of us did. The average rating was for the cost and way you had to choose the wines from their pre selected grouping.

As far as Michigan wineries go, this is one of the better ones. Try the pino gris and whites, great on a summer day chilled. Some people like the reds, but I have yet to find Michigan red I like...but the Riesling here are worth trip. You could bring a like picnic and sit here for awhile. Staff is friendly, and knowledgeable.

Enjoyable wine tasting at Bowers. Jane and her husband were the servers today. Although it was midweek and there were several others also tasting - It wasn't crowded or a wait for tastings. Bowers offers 5 tastes from their large wine and cider selection for $2, plus $1 additional for premium wines. Unfortunately Bowers offers No discounts for purchase of bottles of wine. But their tastings were also the cheapest we found in the greater Traverse city area. The Cab franc was exceptional. The wind whistle pinot very good. Bottle Prices were mostly $16-$36.

Loved the laid back, relaxed vibe here. Good wine, great tasting price, cider options too. Fire pits going and s’mores for sale.

Our favorite ambiance of all the local wineries. This place has a great vibe! Good tunes, numerous private and group outdoor seating options, and you're nestled amongst the grape trees unlike the other wineries where you can kinda see them... Here you're literally within arms length - very cool.
The service was exceptional and we were impressed with the explanation/description of the wines tasted. Small freehand pours compared to some other spots, but it's only supposed to be a sip and they give you the tasting glass, so no complaints here.
Parking was a bit right on Saturday afternoon but the guy in charge did a great job corralling everyone to make it work.
Sadly, the wine wasn't our favorite (maybe top 5) in the area but the ambiance alone carries it.

Very beautiful setting for a winery, as most of them are, but this one was awesome. Kevin was very informative with each pour. Gave us enough of a sample to taste and decide if we wanted to purchase a bottle.

The wine is excellent, the cider is amazing, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff is the best! All around amazing place to go year-round!

Bowers Harbor Vineyards is the place to go for an amazing winery experience. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and so friendly and helpful. The grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. They offer so many different varietals of wine that everyone will leave happy! You can tell that they are passionate about their customers and ensuring that visitors have a wonderful experience when they visit the winery.

On any giving day, the staff heart warming, & very knowledgeable about any Bowers harbor wine or event. Our best happy place in Traverse City always sunshine within. We’ve yet to leash our dogs & sip a glass to enjoy the fabulous view of the bayside vineyard but always another reasons to go back back. We enjoy our quarterly wine membership. It gives us a good reason to step out of the daily busy days to take time out for us!

I really liked this winery, nice grounds, the vineyards are easily accessible. There are even tables out around the vines.
The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic about their product. My favorites were the dry reislings, while my wife really liked the sweeter reislings.
This is really a must stop winery destination!

i highly recommend this winery for several reasons.....especially if you haven't been wine tasting before. First timers are feel welcome here. No intimidating stuffy pourers. The staff is friendly and helpful, explaining the selections. $2 for 5 samples. You feel at home here, and can wear your ball cap and sweatshirt without worry. They have many good wines, but my favorite is their ciders, especially raspberry or cranberry. They used to have friendly dogs that would roam around the tasting room, but was sad to hear that they are no longer allowed. Some of the wines are named after the dogs.

Nice winery. Visited Sunday pm. Employee could have been more attentive (others were more descriptive and getting into details of wine). Love the dog treats and other fun things. Wine and cider were good

We stopped here on the way through and enjoyed the dog themed blends. Otis was our favorite and we anticipate arguments over who finished off the bottle. Nice experience.

One of my favorite wine stops in Traverse City on Old Mission Peninsula. Delicious wine, terrific tasting, great music and beautiful views. Love the Pinot Grigio and now also the new hard cider options. Great store with wine accessories, local jams and sauces and some local art work.

Absolutely love their wine, and are so very comfortable when we visit them every fall. Coming up on our 3rd trip this fall and joined there wine club over all the other wineries we’ve visited on both peninsulas. I feel like I’m home when we visit.

We stopped here and we had to wait for almost 10 minutes before someone would help us. Unless your part of a tour they did not seem interested in assisting you.

Bowers Harbor is one of the best wineries in Michigan! They have such a great staff and amazing selection to sample and buy. We love going there so much, we became Wine Club members and enjoy great perks and events through that. Definitely the place to include on your wine tour!

Bowers Harbor Winery is all you've imagined a quaint little winery to be. It has old world charm & views to match. You can order a cheese platter and enjoy one of the many fine wines they produce. We've been going their for years and loved their wine dog Cooper, he added charm to the experience. Although he passed away a few years ago his memory is still alive with wine names, labels & souvenirs. When you're in the area doing your wine tour add this one to your list.

We really enjoyed the experience and the ambiance of dining last night in the Langley Vineyard, inside a perfectly sized tent with propane heaters.
Chef Jim Morse and his amazing staff prepared another memorable feast. We started with an amazing charcuterie of cheeses, homemade meats and crackers, olives and pickled asparagus, accompanied by a glass of the Langley 2896 Brut Rose.
First Course: Pan seared scallop, parmesan risotto, english peas, saffron beurre blanc and a glass of Pinot Grigio.
Second Course: Morel Bisque, white truffle oil with a glasses of Nicholas Pinot Noir and Cuvee Evan.
Third and Fourth Courses: Kobe Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail over fingerling potatoes, parsnip puree bearnaise, and a glass of the Langley 2896 Brut Rose. Since we are both pescatarians, Chef Jim gave us two lobster tails.
Dessert Course: Served in the tasting room-Old MIssion Apple Cobbler, apple pie ice cream.
This is a must for you local bucket list. Thank you Connie, Kristy, Spencer, and Chef Jim for making this a great Date Night.

Bowers Harbor Vineyards is always a favorite place to stop on our annual vacation Up North. The wines and hard ciders are always first-rate. They have recently added additional outside seating. We spent a couple of hours there on two different afternoons last month. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

We recently went to Traverse City Michigan and we love to go to the wineries I must say when going to Old Missiony peninsula you must stop by Bowers winery Kevin was outstanding after talking to Kevin for no less than 10 to 15 minutes we could not wait to join the Bowers wine club we look forward to many future visits Kevin is top-notch you won’t be disappointed.

So what’s not to like about this place?!! They have camp fires when it’s chilly, seating in their vineyards and great hospitality. Great wine, great views and great times will happen here!

My fiancé and I attempt to visit every year. Each year the staff are very kind and welcoming. David took care of us this time & he was knowledgeable & entertaining. Out of all the vineyards in Traverse City, Bowers Harbor is our favorite. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Had a great experience here at the wine tasting. Great wine, good prices, and the woman who took care of us had great information to share about the wine and wineries. Would definitely go back!

Love this intimate spot-romantic and fun! not as commercial feeling as some of the other spots-love the grapevine arch as you walk in

This used to be our favorite winery to visit but it really has changed. It was a cold December afternoon and you weren’t allowed to sit inside unless you were a wine club member. The guy who waited on us was abrupt and unfriendly and their flights have gone up in price a lot since we last visited. You have to do a preselected flight while previously you were able to pick your own selection. Their wines are still good, but it was a disappointing experience overall.

We love Bower Harbor Winery. Whenever we are in Traverse City we always make sure to stop here. The owners are wonderful, the wine is excellent. The country side is very pretty. For Christmas we always order wine baskets and cases of their wine for friends.

I really enjoy this winery. It has a beautiful view, the service is great and a good selection. Tasting room is on the small side and it can get very crowded. However, the ambiance more than makes up for that.

We visited several vineyards on Old Mission Peninsula and this was by far our favorite! The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed and so beautiful! We loved all of the wines and ciders we tasted and were really impressed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Live music, yard games, beautiful scenery and dog-friendly. We had an amazing visit and can’t wait to go back!

My mom and I have visited BHV on and off over the last 5 years. We finally did the Grapes to Glass tour this morning and absolutely loved it! To find out how BHV came to be what it is today, while walking through the vineyards was so cool! Kevin was such a great tour guide and was incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend this winery. The atmosphere, the staff, and of course, the wine are fantastic!

We recently stopped by to taste wines. I was impressed at the number of wines. Liking drier wines, I particularly liked the chardonnay. Reds were also interesting. The staff made us feel like we were family and we spent quite some time talking with them. The apple jack is incredible as are the ciders. And that is coming from someone who doesn;t care much for them. Highly recommend it!

We loved the wines and the staff at Bowers Harbor Vineyards. This was a very unpretentious winery and we had a great time with the two gentlemen behind the bar. They were definitely not locked into the 5 tastes for $5 tasting fee! We bought half a case, purchased some delicious white fish spread and crackers and took a break on the patio while sipping a glass of red. It was gorgeous and a must-see of the Old Mission Peninsula wineries. Well done, and the people make all the difference.

Staff not friendly went to purchase a bottle of wine after purchasing flights, told me my card did not work ( hand put in card number???)!! Told her we just used it, didn't care.... sad they have great wine.

This was our last stop on our wine tour and it was wonderful! We had a party of 11 and they sat us outside in a patio area the view was beautiful and the winery was so peaceful and so airy. We enjoyed the dogs! The pineapple pineapple cider was my fave I took some to go !

Hubby was the designated driver to daughter and myself. I got to choose where we were going to taste. I picked this place do to the only place that said they would give you the glass after tasting. We each picked 5 different taste. Me I like the hard ciders the best, she the white or rose. We both like the sweet though. the staff very helpful on what will feel our needs.

This winery offers ciders, so we opted for that over wine. We were really impressed by the taste and the views are great. Nice staff, quick stop.

Embarrassed to say that we had never been here in the 15 falls we have been in th area. It's now on our return list. The staff was great, funny and engaging. Wines are delicious. Indoor and beautiful relaxing outdoor accommodations

Our favorite winery in the area. Great tasting. Beautiful area with nice views. And felt safe through it all. Would recommend to friends and family and hope to return in the near future!

Loved our tastings! My husband did the wine tasting and I did the cider tasting. Each for $5. What a deal! Our kids were entertained by reading on the porch. We'd go back.

Great wine and hard cider selection! A group of 21 of us went for a wine tasting and this winery by far is the most organized, efficient and kindest that we’ve been to when touring Traverse City. We had a lot of fun here and they sell a lot of cool goodies in their shop! We will definitely visit again!

Don't miss the patios! I repeat - don't miss the patios! The atmosphere they have created is just breathtaking. I loved my afternoon here! We didn't do a tasting, we were offered a Pinot Noir that had been decanted for a party and not used (for a reduced price) - how thoughtful! So we took our glasses and headed out to the many seating areas. Outside the door is a grilling area with a fire pit, down a ways is a covered area for large groups with tables, then you can sit RIGHT IN THE VINEYARD! They have set up small tables for 2 or 4 right in between the rows of grapes. Spectacular! After sitting there for a bit we walked down to a deck, full of tables/chairs in the sunshine - did I mention our day was full of heavenly sunshine? When we got to the deck, I then saw the lush lawn full of adirondack chairs looking out at the bay. I sat down here and closed my eyes and basked in the sun with my wine. Divine! Thank you Bowers for a marvelous day!

My wife and I were on the frozen wine tour... We visited 5 wineries in all. The staff was fantastic, made great recommendations and provided a great deal of insight. Well worth going.

such a nice, relaxed, non-snobby feel. We visited several different wineries while we were in MI and this was the favorite.

So surprised that this vineyard is so highly rated. Out of the three we visited yesterday we thought this was the worst. It was the most expensive by far and was more a cattle drive than a wine tasting. You choose a flight of wines, but not individual wines and prices are based on the flight. The others we visited allowed you to choose any wine on the tasting menu. At this vineyard we chose a red flight, which wasn’t good and cost $27.00.

I went with a group after the conference I was attending let out for the day. Took a bus tour this was the first stop. Nice variety of wines to taste inexpensive and given a free glass. The person show the wines was very good at it and engaging

We loved the vibe of this winery.
The wine was good too.
We took our wine flights out into a grassy area with plenty of seating that allows you to enjoy the vineyard and the view.
A great way to enjoy and compare wine.
A fun experience.

We went in with our family tour to this winery. The wine was tasty and the wine tasting was great and friendly. We bought a growler of their cider.

My husband and I went on a wine tasting tour here and this winery was by far our favorite! We are not wine experts and the staff was excellent at helping us choose the best wines for our tastes. The Riesling Late Harvest was our favorite! Nice and smooth, no bitterness. Just delicious! The patio is beautiful, bought a glass of wine and sat outside enjoying the view! Bought a few bottles to take home and will be back.

Gorgeous views great staff and great wine!! This is my favorite stop on Old Mission and when I visit Traverse City!

We did the Dine in the Vines Lobster Boil a few weeks ago. It was our first time to visit the vineyard but we will be back! The staff was gracious, the food delicious and the wine was great. The setting for the vineyard is beautiful with views of both the vineyard and the bay. We look forward to our next visit!

This was our last winery stop along our drive up the peninsula and it was one of the most charming. The entrance into the building is very pretty with the grapevines and the view of he vineyard is quite nice. Even though it was the end of the day, our server was very friendly and helpful in finding wines we liked. Even gave us an extra sample of a cider which I really liked.

Wine tasting was absolutely the BEST and a great variety. Hard cider was good with different flavors to choose from.

We participated in a macaroni and cheese wine tasting event on mission point. One of the stops and I would say one of my favorites was here. The drive way takes you through a vineyard and then to the tasting room. The parking can be tricky but no big deal.
Once inside the tasting room there was a welcoming feeling that was warm and inviting. The tasting bar was long so there was plenty of room without feeling closed in. The staff was very warm, friendly and knowledgeable of the products.
We were given 3 free tastings and were guided professionally through the wine list so as not to wast or time trying something that would not please our pallet. I tried a late harvest Riesling then a few of their flavored hard ciders. Each one was great.
We decided that every trip to traverse city would include a stop here.

This is a small, quaint vineyard. Beautiful sitting areas that even offers seating amongst the vines. It's like walking into family vineyard and feeling at home. Live music was played, tastefully done. I didn't try any wines b/c they are all on the sweeter side which I do not like.

Though it has one of the smallest and most unpretentious buildings it checks all the boxes. Very good wines( my favorites were the Riesling block II, the Chardonnay RLS, and the Cuvee Evan) The lady doing the pouring enjoyed her job, was very knowledgeable and made the experience fun. We took a glass outside to sit at one of their two patios. They also feature dining in the vines and other fun events.

Best on Old Mission
Multiple wine’s and Cider’s offered in peaceful environment. We Also enjoyed a glass of wine in the vineyards.
Staff was not only educational on wine, More-so on vineyard and history of winery and area and gave great recommendations.
A great experience.
Thank you much 🥂

You can not beat Bowers Harbor....then again we are a Club members so we are a little bias but sitting outside on a beautiful day is like heaven and good wine makes it the best on The Mission!!!

This is our favorite vineyard in TC. We stop here every time, sometimes the only vineyard we visit. The staff is awesome and very knowledgable and we always walk out with a case of wine because it is all so delicious we can't choose! Miss having the dogs around though..

Our third stop on our winery tour, this place was so much fun! We got greeted immediately as we entered and got our own table for our wine tasting. Our server was extremely personable and friendly and made it a very enjoyable experience bring the samples right to our table! Got a cute keepsake glass and I loved getting to taste some cider as well! They have some great outdoor seating and a good store collection of not only wines but ciders, jams, jellies, and sauces too. My second favorite winery that we toured!

Well I proposed here on the deck in 2009, so this place is special to us. A great location and setting to check out on your Old Mission peninsula trip.

My wife and I visited in winter 2010 and enjoyed it so much we took a group of 7 back last week - everyone loved it and bought something! Despite having a full tasting room, their excellent, knowledgeable staff provide a very personal, friendly, and inviting tasting experience for the entire group be they a novice or experienced wine lover. This winery offers outstanding options at very reasonable prices - the toughest part is deciding amongst the best of them! There are indeed a lot of fantastic wineries in this area, but if you're looking for a friendly, personal and true wine tasting experience, add this as a "must-do" on your list - you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful grounds. Friendliest people. The wines and ciders were excellent! And the stories of Cooper and the other dogs are just heartwarming. Go. You’ll be glad you stopped by.

The staff was friendly, loved the wine carriers you brought to your table. The wines were ok, we actually liked the ciders better. The down side is they only had a nasty porta potty that needed to be cleaned and the heaters were not working at the tables so this was not a place I would spend time at. We were chilly as the plastic was not pulled down on the door either.

This is one of the smaller wineries on Old Mission Peninsula, however, in spite of having visited on the busiest day of the season and all of the bridezillas the staff remained cheerful, attentive and absolutely friendly. Jill was absolutely wonderful and kept a smile on her face and was polite as could be in spite of not being treated very nicely by some of the visitors. They have a great selection of wines and ciders and you must try their Chocolate Cabernet Wine Sauce. It takes dessert to a whole new level!

Lovely setting very close to the Jolly Pumpkin Restaurant. Small tasting room and gift shop. They have a larger area outdoors that appeared to be available for tours. They also have a large frame outside where you can have your picture taken

We went there for wine tasting. I recommend going in fine weather, as then you can sit outdoors and enjoy the view of the vineyard. I love the wine glass trees.

We chose to come to Bowers Harbor based on TripAdvisor reviews. We got there at 12:30 pm on a Friday. The lady at the indoor tasting area said she was full inside as a wine tour just arrived, and we should go to the tasting area outside. We found two spots at the end of the tasting table. Then the lady doing outside tastings told us to go inside. We told her it was full and we were told to come outside. She proceeded to help another group at the end of the tasting table and ignored us for another 15 minutes. So we left. On to another vineyard for a tasting. Bummed about the poor service we received.

Visited again this weekend and were not disappointed. Like the small updates they've made, and especially loved that they showed the loud bus groups and bachelorette parties out to the patio! I felt like we were tripping over drunk bridesmaids at some other wineries, but here we were actually able to enjoy our tasting without rolling our eyes at selfies and iPhone photos of wine glasses. Love their rieslings, was only sad that I didn't see Brix, with all the groups around he must have been hiding.

We have visited Bowers Harbor four times in two weeks. It is such a pleasure to relax in this lovely setting and enjoy a glass of wine, or taste a few unfamiliar varieties. You can purchase snacks and spend an afternoon taking in the view while sipping excellent quality wine. Don't miss this wonderful experience!

Bowers Harbor is a gorgeous spot for wine tasting. There is a great assortment to try and buy, we've never had an issue stopping by here. My only complaint may be the parking lot, it is narrow and on an incline, making it tricky to maneuver around other vehicles.

Set in a beautiful fall color setting. For a group function, I very much appreciated the good food, served warm, served quickly and served by very cordial staff. The wine selections were local, were explained and were very good. Overall a very nice evening with the establishment being wonderful hosts. I loved the internal and external fireplace to make the ambiance memorable.

After finally getting to the bar for tasting, we were completely ignored. People who came up after us were served multiple tastes. It was if my party did not even exist. Their shop is cute... I like the stuff for dogs. Their wine? Can't comment since they didn't deign to serve me any. Asked for my money back and left. There are plenty of other wonderful wineries in the area with excellent service, so skip this one.

of all the wineries we visited, this one by far was our favorite. while the views might not have been as stunning as the other wineries, the wine was outstanding and the patio setting was relaxed and highly enjoyable. we were able to get some cheese, crackers and other nibbles to enjoy during our tastings. we were able to choose several different wines that they brought out to us on the patio in a very interesting holder for each of the glasses, which had nice size servings. we bought several bottles to bring back home. highly recommend

We traveled to Traverse City with family (8) for a surprise engagement party with my son and his girlfriend - she said yes! We stopped at Bowers knowing what a nice place it is. The family loved it - the wine, ciders and atmosphere. The service
was exceptional and Caryl (?) behind the bar took her time explaining everything to the kids - she was so gracious! We loved this stop the most. We will be back - we have some growlers to refill!

This is a wonderful vineyard on the Old Mission Peninsula. The views are great. The wine tasting area was a little busy. Please be patient with customer service. The wines are very good. I suggest tasting, buying a glass of wine and sipping it from the porch. I

We took a winery tour bus and Bowers Harbor was our last stop. They gave us an instructional tasting which was great and they let us keep our wine glass as a souvenir. After that no one instructed us to check out. We had to ask a bartender up at the main building to write us up a check for the tasting and for our drinks. When we left we waiting in a long line to pay. The whole property is open and many doors on the building. It would have been easy to walk out of there with a free tasting and bar tab.

Beautiful vineyard, great service, and so dog friendly. They even brought a bowl of water for our dog. We will definitely be back.

Bowers Harbor Vinyard is a very relaxing friendly atmosphere. Great selection of wines and reasonably priced. Always one of our stops on Old Mission Peninsula.

This place is a bit off the beaten trail and very laid back. I love that they embrace their dogs and name their wines after them. And of course, the wine is great! I no longer live in MI and make sure I get bottles when I visit. When we went we loved how the wine and food was basically done on an honor code of take what you want but pay for what you take. We also wandered a bit and loved the outside patio.

My wife and I visit the Traverse City area every autumn, with local wineries being the focal point of our trip. We've visited most every winery on the Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas. Our favorite is Bowers Harbor. If their wine wasn't any good, we wouldn't even bother with that place...but it is!!! My wife tends to lean toward white wines, but our favorite is a red named Red Wagon Red. The overall feel and ambience of the place is very comfortable. Every year we go up, we look forward to going to Bowers Harbor on a Saturday, grabbing a glass of Red Wagon Red, and sitting by one of the fires outside while listening to live acoustic music. It's the perfect setting with a great view!

This is a really nice family owned winery. After we had a bottle of their wine with dinner I had to visit. We got a 1 on 1 , 30 min tour with Justin. Very funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. The wine tasting was amazing and we brought 2 bottles back with us. The atmosphere was so chill and relaxing I didn't want to leave.

We really enjoyed stopping at this winery. It’s one we always remember and go back to. It’s beautiful and their wines are very good and not crazy expensive.

What an experience we had!! Kevin was beyond amazing and so knowledgeable about the wine and the area. Offered great selections of wines to get now and let them age for a while. Very much looking forward to opening our bottle of red at Christmas.
They have a great selections of reds (which are my favorites) and great ciders. We loved the peach cider.
Loved they are dog friendly as well!
Highlight of our trip and a must see. Very personable and engaging staff- great job!

My husband and I LOVED Bowers Harbor Vineyard so much we went twice during our trip! The tasting was wonderful and then we enjoyed a glass of wine outside. The view is incredible and we can’t wait to go back again!

There is a real sense of being in the vines at this vineyard. Rustic tasting room offering a wide variety of wines that are reasonably priced. Our server, Haley was very professional and knowledgeable and also entertaining as she poured our samples. Award winning wines. Ask about their dining in the vines events!

Spent the day hiking and letting our dog play on the beach. Shopped at the wonderful lavender shop and decided the perfect ending to a great day would be to sit in the shade with a beautiful view while sipping some wine. Just like the pictures, right? Came to Bowers because we knew the allowed dogs in the yard. Arrived hot and exhausted from our day. We were walk-ins so they told us to pick a barrel to stand at out in the sun. We thought that since we were walk-ins that was all that was available. We are in our late 60's so standing after a long day in the sun was not what we had in mind. We took a barrel, our wine flight kept sliding off and we had to hold on to it. We were miserable and the shaded patio never did have more than a few people seated there so there was no reason we could not have sat down. Very disappointing.

We stopped here on our winery tour for the second year in a row and our visit was even better than the previous year! The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable about the different wines. We visited on 9/8 and the young woman working at the counter was very sweet and shared so much information about the different wines we chose to sample. She was juggling about three different couples at the time, but never made us feel forgotten or rushed. She made this winery my favorite of the trip. A must visit on your winery tour!

Connie gave us a wonderful tour of the vineyard and was extremely knowledgeable of not only the wine varietals but the history of the winery as well. She planned our tasting to our palette and also chose things we may not otherwise try. The RLS Reserve Chardonnay was phenomenal and we took home a bottle. Their selection of reds leave a little to be desired, but overall it was a great experience and we would certainly go back.

We were there yesterday when it was pouring rain but you would not have noticed. The wine pourer was knowledgeable and friendly. My husband drinks ciders and they had five different ones to taste. The prices were moderate leaning toward the higher price. I would recommend Bowers Harbor Vineyards if you enjoy both ciders and wine!

This winery is one of the best red wine hidden jewels. Listen go straight there if your a dry red lover and don't be afraid of the Cab franc it's excellent. Do the red wine flight. Then fight it out about which one (s) to buy. I promise you'll fall in love with this place!!

Bower's Harbor is one of my favorite Old Mission Wineries. I love the intimate feel of the tasting room. If the weather is nice, they will even do tastings out on the deck. Their wines are great and I love seeing the tasting room dogs walking around. We're even thinking about joining their wine club. Don't miss Bowers Harbor on your wine tasting tour!

Beautiful surroundings but impersonal experience. You wait on line, you pick a flight, they set it up so you know what each wine is, and you go to a seat on their beautiful grounds. No info on the wine/grapes/history, which we enjoy. But, very dog friendly, even had water bowl w/ water in a wine bottle that we could take to our table just for the dog.

My boyfriend and I stopped here on a wine tour in Traverse City. This was probably my favorite stop. The tasting was a great value and I got to keep my glass. They also had quite a selection of hard ciders. It had a warm and cozy atmosphere. It reminded me of an old Italian like village. The staff member who conducted the tasting was knowledgeable and fantastic! I would recommend stopping here while you are in Traverse City.

Comfortable venue with plenty of outdoor seating-bistro tables placed right in vine rows!
Very friendly and helpful staff. After patiently answering all our questions, we joined thier wine club. Superb wines. Looking forward to our first shipment!

My fiancé & I visit Bower’s Harbor each time we are in town. They never disappoint. We were celebrating my sister-in-laws birthday & Erin treated us like VIPs before she even knew what we were celebrating during our tasting. Their gewurztraminer is my absolute favorite. They also have an awesome variety of ciders if you aren’t in the mood for wine. My next visit I plan on trying their wine flights🍷

Well like the title says this was my first wine tasting. My wife wanted to go and I wasn't thrilled about the idea. I reluctantly agreed and off we went.
I had a great time, the wine was good, the cider was also good and the winery itself was really cool.
I would highly recommend if your in the area.

We have been here twice and love it. Beautiful setting. I am a fan of their Cabernet Franc. They also have some excellent ciders. Like the cherry apple and pear in particular. They have a tasty array of snacks, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Nice atmosphere, rude employees, rip off policies and prices. Quote only taste wine in their set bracket per covid. Bracket about 6 dollars more than competition. No substition in bracket and if want to taste a wine not in bracket you must by a full glass. Loads of of other better choices in area.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the tasting room in June. We came on a weekday so the crowds were very thin. We were never rushed, enjoying our conversation with Justin as he explained the history of the vineyard and educated us on some of the wines we weren't familiar with.
We did two tastings, sharing both. One was of the wines and the other were all ciders. There really wasn't a bad wine or cider in the bunch. We highly recommend the late harvest reisling as well as the ice cider. Both were so remarkable that we talk about them often.
After our tasting we took a glass onto the patio with some cheese and crackers and enjoyed the scenery. We left with our first two bottles of our new wine membership. We can't wait to go back when we're in the TC area again.

Located on the Mission Peninsula near Traverse City, Bowers Harbor Vineyards offers a great wine tasting experience in a wonderful setting. We focused on white wines, simply because we like Michigan white wines. The fellow behind the counter talked about the wines, answered questions that we had, and poured some nice portions for our tasting. We ended up buying a couple of glasses of white wine and walked out onto the patio to enjoy our wine. It was a beautiful setting, relaxing, sunny, peaceful, and so on and so on. Love this place.

Very friendly and picturesque winery to visit. Not large, so you don't feel lost in the crowd. Tasted a few wines. In particular I like their Unwooded Chardonnay. I would love to come back and spend more time here. This visit was part of a personal tour given by our cousin and her husband! Thank you Annie! And thanks for sending us off with a bottle of Unwooded Chardonnay!

I found this place to be very Covid compliant with individuals wearing masks, seating was 6 ft a part, outdoor areas to purchase flights or by the glass wine or cider. We sat at a table in the vineyard itself with a very comfortable distance between us and other groups. We enjoyed a wine flight between the two of us. The staff were very friendly and it was a fantastic experience. Definitely would recommend.

A place to avoid
Rude. Used to be much friendlier.
Can't use indoor restrooms unless you are a member
Can't sit inside unless you are a member
Can look at the wine library unless you are a member
Can't sit at some outside tables unless you are a member

We love Bowers Harbor and make a point of returning here annually every July when we visit from Colorado. It really is the best vineyard and a must do while in TC.

I couldn't have wished for a better evening spent with friends. We had the most perfect summer evening - sun was out, but with a light breeze. We were greeted with sparking wine and an array of cheese and meats (including duck and venison). Our lobster dinner was great and included shrimp, artichoke hearts, sausage, corn & potatoes. We went for a walk through the vineyards and took some beautiful pictures. We later enjoyed a tasty dessert and watched the sunset. I'm still smiling. Picturesque setting. Great night out! (Ladies - don't wear heels as you'll be walking through grass)

Visited 7 wineries, ranked this tied for #4 - the other had better views but wine better here. Tasting center nestled in vineyard area with option to have a glass on the small patio. Nice server. $5 for 5 tastings with a souvenir glass. Really liked their #1 best seller, the Pinot Grigio as well as the Shiraz.

My sister and I love this place. We get a glass of wine, sit on the patio overlooking the vineyards and have a snack while we just chill. This time their loveable dog chose us to be his friend so we had a nice time petting the pup and just chilling out. The wines are outstanding. Try the sparkling wine, its my favorite!

What a beautiful winery with amazing people that work there! The wine and cider is so tasty. We had a glass of wine and sat outside. The people who work here are simply amazing and very friendly.. it’s like being treated as family .
Love love love this place ! A must !

Four of us had a wine tasting with 5 varieties. The staff were more interested in preparing for a group event than discussing the wines with us. Wines were not the caliber of some of the other peninsula wines we tasted today.

My husband and I always say that going to Traverse City is like going home, and Bowers Harbors is like going to Grandmas house. The staff is so welcoming (they remember our names), and want to ensure you have a personalized experience. We are wine club members, and absolutely love Bowers! You can walk though the vineyard, have a glass of wine on the porch, and enjoy the beautiful views.

We stopped in with our two small children while visiting the area. The staff was extremely knowledgable and gracious. The wine and ciders are amazing! The atmosphere is relaxed and our little ones loved playing outside among the grapes. We will definitely be back!

Excellent wines and ciders. Nice small vineyard to sit outside and enjoy some awesome wines and ciders.

Enjoyed visiting and tasting the Bowers Harbor wines. Friendly staff. Comfortable seating. Purchased a case to share with friends.

We had a wonderful visit! Connie was amazing!! She’s so knowledgeable, warm, and friendly! It was a great experience!

The Riesling here is so good. Bowers Harbor was one of the stops on our wine tour. I loved everything about it. The wines I chose for the flight were all good. I bought several bottles of the Riesling to take home. I would definitely go here again!

We had our rehearsal dinner outside in the vineyards at Bowers Harbor. It was the most beautiful day with all the scenery around us. We did a dine in the vines type of dinner. Our food was paired with delicious wines from the winery. The service and food was excellent!

Don't skip this one! Beautiful winery. Family owned. Friendly staff. Day we visited they seemed short staffed. We had to wait to taste & then wait to pay. Loved the 2015 Chardonnay. Have a bottle in my wine chiller. Beautiful spot for photos in front of their sign.

Bowers Harbor will probably continue to be our favorite winery in Traverse City! They can get pretty busy throughout the year but they have plenty of space to roam around. They have a couple different patios and outdoor seating to enjoy a glass of wine. If I can recall from a previous visit they let us wonder around their grapevine fields with our glass of wine most other places had signs to keep people out. Very friendly staff as well that were helpful. Might be the most well known as well.

We arrived right when it opened and had a great experience. We enjoyed the 5 tastes and decided to keep our glass for a souvenir (only had a pay a few extra $). Even though it was our first stop of the day, we decided to purchase a glass of wine and enjoy some time on the patio. I loved the Unwooded Chardonnay and after a glass of this, I needed to take a bottle home to enjoy again later. My husband enjoyed their Ciders. The staff was well informed on their wine and also locations on where it can be purchased locally.

We had a very pleasant tasting experience at Bowers Harbor. Their Wind Whistle reds were very nice but a bit pricier for us. There were some pleasant sitting areas outside.

Way to go, this is what Bubbly's dream to become, this is an elegant and sophisticated yet very drinkable bottle , or maybe three bottles "depending on who you are with"... this is by far my favorite wine of the North, don't get me wrong, i enjoy a lot from the region, but i'm a sucker for this.... if bubbly is your thing, than this has to be in your glass!!!

Good wines, enjoyed our time & tasting. Wished we'd had known when we bought a "bottle" of the Raspberry-Apple hard cider that they don't ship it cause we would have got more!!

We went here based on reviews but I had forgotten that I bought a bottle of their Cooper’s wine for my wife locally a while back. She loved it. The location is beautiful and they have indoor and outdoor seating and tours. We bought several wines here as they had some very nice selections with some that are simple and some complex. A very good variety. We will be back and I will keep my eye out when local vendors carry their wines. Our waitstaff was exceptional. (She even gave my wife an extra taste because she was unsure of the sweet red. It was delicious and I bought a bottle so I guess the taste wasn’t free after all 😊) we will be back in the future.

Delicious wines but even better cider. No more will the main stream ciders work for me. We were greeted and served by an attentive bartender named Kevin who served us wine with a side of history of the vineyard. We then took our flight of cider out to the patio and took in the view of the vines and the bay. It was a perfect way to spend our Wednesday afternoon.

Friendly and helpful Staff made this an enjoyable and relaxing visit. A beautiful winery! A must on anyone's list to visit!

Claudine helped us enjoy many fine Bowers Harbor wines and shared some good stories too. We loved a couple of wines, spent too much money and can’t wait to go back when there’s enough snow to snowshoe through the vineyards!

During this time of Covid19, this place did little or nothing about mask requirement nor about social distancing. And that is just for starters.
The wine was some the worst we've ever had and the service was on the same par.
No place to sit, except in the sun on a rock!
Don't waste your money.

We had a great time roaming around their beautiful. They were quite busy for a Wednesday and were a bit understaffed. It was rainy and I guess more folks decided to keep warm and dry in the confines of the wineries!
The wines were typical of regional wines. There were a few decent bottles but most was not to my liking.

We toured several vineyards on both Old Mission and Leelenau Peninsula, and this topped the list for us. The wine was superior, and the staff was absolutely fantastic. Kristy was particularly lovely, and put together a flight for us that was phenomenal. We would highly recommend this as a place to enjoy a wonderful wine tasting experience -- and don't forget to throw some bags while you're there!

Attended Dine in the Vines, what a great place, food and wine fabulous ! Check it out! Will be returning !

What a great experience! We arrived just as they were closing (we didn't know) The staff was great they let us still do some tasting! LOVED every one! Brought home some Pinot Grigio and Red Wagon. We will definitely be back ! Thanks to other reviewers on Trip Advisor for giving great advise. You should definitely put them on your wine tour!

We love the personal service provided every time we go to the winery. The views are breathtaking, the wines are amazing, and the service is beyond exceptional. We joined their wine club and enjoy our wines every quarter. This is our favorite stop on every tour of Michigan's amazing wine country. We are excited to attend the pick up party this month and enjoy the hidden gem that is Bowers Harbor Vineyards.
We had a wonderful too short 30 minute visit on a gorgeous fall day as we arrived near closing. Lots of outdoor seating, we saw many options for small parties (couples wishing privacy) or large families/groups of friends. In addition to seating on the grass and platform, we saw tables and benches between the vines. Since we are traveling from out of state and with our dog, not easy finding pet friendly above average experiences beyond outdoor hikes. Great and friendly service with all the employees masked. The wines are not cheap but if you consider that the flights include the atmosphere and experience, it's a great value! Would you rather pay a cover charge for entrance? Highly recommend especially if you can't leave your furry friends at the hotel! Looking forward to returning with friends and family:)
