Love it

By Mary C |

I have gone there since I was a kid. A year does not go by that we don't stop in. I love it and the best cider donuts ever! The apple crisp mix is amazing too :)

Unique and cozy

By Margaret L |

Must stop in September. Fresh apple, pumpkins and cider. The fresh apple cider donuts won't last till the trip home as you will eat them on the way. Nice little gift shop with local honey and other products. Falls behind the mill for a great picture. A must stop for the whole family!

Fun place to go in the fall

By kellyfh |

Always on the list of to do in the fall. Parking can be a nightmare and sometimes you are shoulder to shoulder inside. The cider is good and they press it right there. The donuts are to die for. Don't forget family pics by the waterfall. Ask about their ghost. It is supposedly haunted.

Best cider doughnuts!!!

By Guppygal87 |

What a great old place. The cider is great. They have the best cider doughnuts, especially just out of the fryer. The waterfall behind the mill is beautiful.

Awesome donuts, awesome cider

By daveh2o |

We can't leave the parking lot without delving into those hot delicious donuts. Oh, and the cider is pretty good too!
Around back is the perfect picture spot complete with waterfalls for a backdrop.

Definitely a fall destination!

By 638reneek |

I have taken my family to the cider mill for decades. I love the cider, fudge and especially the hot cider donuts! And we always check out the waterfall behind the Cider Mill. It is a quaint little store!

Was great just got greater

By cathybutch2015 |

recently upgraded for more room to browse and more stock. No one can resist the cider donuts hot out of the cooker.

A North Country Institution

By Jeremiah M |

The Burrville Cider Mill is one of the rites of fall. It's difficult to imagine fall in the North Country without fresh cider, apple cider donuts, and fudge from Burrville.

Mostly a Shop

By CadetTraveler |

I've heard that there are sometimes tours of the cider mill, but expect to drive to a picturesque spot on the edge of town, then wait in line at a shop. You can buy lots of kitchy souvenirs, but the big attraction is donuts and cider. The cider is very tasty, though you can buy it at many grocery stores or gas stations in the area for the same price. The donuts are wonderful.

favorite fall fun stop

By Laura B |

The best cider donuts in the world are found here. I'm not a fudge fan, but I love the fudge here, too. The cute shop has a lot of cute trinkets and collectibles. I also love to get pears, apples, gourds and pumpkins in the fall. The price for the fresh fruits and veggies is usually better than grocery store prices. The cider is a little pricey and my second favorite. Excellent place to take friends that are guests in town.

Cider and Art on the Falls

By Shawn H |

This short stop was an unexpected highlight of our trip to the area. The Cider Mill, built alongside a waterfall (make sure to walk around and look!) is clearly well appreciated by locals - with traffic constantly going in and out. The place includes big bins of apples to sort through, great cider to buy to go, and baked goods and slushies from the counter. We loaded up with a variety of appley items. The Cider Mill also had a selection of works by a local artist, and we walked away with a beautiful print of the mill which we quickly framed and hung up in our home as a memento of our visit to the area. Don't miss the Cider Mill!

Interesting and scenic!

By Buddy0 |

Interesting place to visit. Free samples of delicious apple cider and apple related products for sale. Homemade "apple" donuts, (cake style) for sale - could have been better really - they should consider apple fritters or apple cake. Very scenic - be sure to check out the falls in the back.

Fresh hot cider doughnuts

By stoneking87 |

I love going here with my family in the fall. We all love their cider both hot and slushy form. Their fresh cider doughnuts are amazing and I love that they offer so many products in their little store.

Cider donuts by the falls on a Fall Morning!

By Travelintheworld101 |

Can’t pass on this great hidden gem in upstate New York. If you stop into town for the night during the Fall months make sure you stop in and get some cider donuts and cider slushee. Always busy but they move you through quick. Parking sometimes is tough but a donut by the old mill falls is worth the wait.

Fall Tradition

By JKIMMICK |

Anyone who knows about the Burrville Cider Mill knows that the excitement people feel as they wait for it to open in the Fall is like the excitement a kid feels waiting for Christmas morning. Their cider is smooth and tasres wonderful. Their donuts are so yummy. They have an assortment of apples to purchase also plus other goodies in their store. It is no wonder that the line to get in extends well into the parking lot, but the line moves very quickly. While you are there make sure you go out behind the building where you can veiw a beautuful waterfall.

Burr I’ll cider mill

By Ksteblen |

I’ve been visiting this mill for well on 66 years. Though it has changed hands 2-3 times since my first visit, the quality of the cider has remained at the highest quality since those early years when pasteurization was only a word. I rate this cider at 5 of 5 stars. Never had better anywhere. Oh yes don’t forget the cider doughnuts. They melt in your mouth when served warm.

Quick stop to pick up donuts

By Alicia P |

If you are interested in seeing how to make cider, this is NOT the place to go. There were 2 guys pressing apples basically in the basement. They are not friendly and do not explain what they are doing. They just shoot you dirty looks like you are not suppose to be there watching them even though it is listed as an attraction at this mill. The donuts are good but small and overpriced. The cider was average.

Fun and delicious!

By Compassrose87 |

A must for your to-do list when visiting the 1,000 islands region of N.Y. This small mill has a wide variety of fresh apples and melt-in -your -mouth cider doughnuts. We were leaving for a long drive back and couldn't take advantage of their triple -sharp cheddar cheese, but look forward to having it another time. The apple cider is fantastic. Shop items include NYS maple syrup products, hand made soaps (very emollient), jams, butters, etc. The waterfall out back is a charming photo op.

Return visit looking forward to good donuts and apples !

By theJeepDAD |

A go to spot while up in the Fort Drum area and Watertown Ny. We were well pleased to see the new layout of this quaint mill of yesterday. The well done addition makes the navigation through for donuts and cider much easier without the setting looking like every other little market . The bins of apples were full of several types and were all fresh and tasty! Donuts and location setting Fresh and wonderful.
As always found a good parking place and were in and out quickly. Waterfall was running strong and the fall foliage back drop was fabulous.

A peaceful blessed place to take a moment to unwind and enjoy the journey life has .
JEEP DAD day of excellence !!

Bet you can't eat just one!

By NYSSMAer |

Apple cider donuts are beyond belief... variety of apple products (apples by the bag in "u-pick from the bin") mix and match.. cider is Unpasteurized for uniquely delicious flavor.... VERY special place!

Fall mornings at Burrville

By Jasonwhirlybird |

Burrville Cider Mill is a locally owned and operated store. It's only open a few months out of the year so it is pretty popular during business hours. It's an interesting little shop that sells very good apples, apple cider, and other fall produce. You can get honey, cheese curds, and fresh cider doughnuts here as well.

Obviously their main product is apples and this is made more evident by the dozens of huge crates of apples sitting out front. They usually have an impressive amount of diversity with their apples as well, with charts explaining what kinds of apples are good for cooking or eating. Take a bag and pick your own combination of apples from the bins. If you want to watch how they make the cider, you can go into their pressing area and watch the guys operate the machinery. It's not quite as exciting as it sounds though, since they don't really talk to anyone, and you feel like you are just getting in their way. Around back is a picturesque creek and waterfall that is beautiful in the fall.

In the little shop, the employees are usually pretty friendly and helpful if there isn't a lot of business. The cider doughnuts are very good, and they offer a myriad of other products as well. They sell soaps, lotions, candles, sausage, honey, and baked goods, among other things. The only down side is that parking is at a premium because their lot is very small.

Bottom line: Stop here. It's worth your time.

Cider donuts

By Lyn41 |

Best cider donuts in the area, the place smells so good when you go in and you immediatly think of Fall, cider, donuts and the like. There is a small waterfall out back with a deck where you can take beautiful pictures.

Best Fall Experience Ever..

By Triley |

There is nothing like a glass of Burrville Cider. A family run business that has been a tradition in our family for years and many years to come..

Fantastic

By Sara D |

Burrville Cider Mill as been in operation for many many years....the cider is awesome, and they also make the best ever cider donuts!!! Also, the Mill has a fantastic gift shop full of local items by local artisans....You can also tour the mill and see how the cider is pressed.....It is in a beautiful location with the Water Falls in the back....A must visit if you are in the area in August-November......

We go every year !!

Such a great place with great people !! We love the fresh donuts and cider. Very unique little store that we also enjoy. Beautiful view of the falls in the back and the family is so very nice!! We enjoy going every year 😊

More than just cider

By NCTraveler2015 |

I hadn't been to the Burrville Cider Mill in years as I no longer live close enough to go there. But I was so very happy that the cider mill was open with a recent trip to NY! It is not the cider mill I remember.

The current owners really did a makeover on the cider mill. I was disappointed that I could no longer get my own cider from the tap and fill a jug but I completely understand that health and sanitary reasons for that change. So you just grab a half gallon or gallon from the refrigerator there.

I had read on here about the donuts so I knew I needed to make sure I tried one of those. I got one cinnamon sugar one and was not disappointed by that lovely fresh taste. But I had no idea about the fudge that was made there and all the flavors available from traditional chocolate to peanut butter to unique flavors of cider and pumpkin. They do give free samples and the fudge is so creamy and yummy. The chocolate peanut butter is my favorite.

There was even caramel and candy apples, chocolate candies and pies and other baked goods. I know I missed a lot of other goodies as there was just so much. I do remember the maple syrup. In another cooler there was cheese curd and Crogan baloney. Outside there are apples you can buy as well.

Besides all the delicious foods there was a large area of high quality crafts and I even noticed some homemade soaps.

I went to the cider mill on a Monday thinking it would be a slow day but this place was packed even on a Monday. Parking is at a premium as the lot is small. Behind the cider mill is a waterfall so make sure to check that out.

I am thrilled at how nice the current cider mill is and how the local business is thriving. Kudos to the current owners who are doing something right!

Family Tradition

By Lois F |

I have been visiting the Burrville Cider Mill since I was in my teens. It became a fall tradition, usually on Labor day weekend for the first visit each year, when my son was younger. We alway make the first visit of the season, as a family, for cider, donuts and a photo opp at the falls. Since the grandchildren arrived, I have used each year's photo as the wallpaper on my computer screen. This year my family moved down state in August, but about two weeks ago they drove back up so we could all make our traditional visit. My 12 year old grandson asked me as we drove into the parking lot, "Nana, has it rained here much lately?" I didn't know why he asked, until we saw the falls. The lack of rain this year made the falls just a trickle but there have been years when lots of rain made it a roaring torrent, and other years it had been picture perfect. It's all about the rainfall. We took photos anyway. It is always interesting to see the difference each year. Love the little gift shop and the art prints and homemade soaps. The grandkids love the donuts and cider slushies. We will be heading down to see our family soon and will be stopping again, this time to take the cider and donuts down to them.Thank you for all your years of faithful service and all the happy family times you have provided. - Lois A Flack

Super Delicious Cider

By Robby G C |

I went to the Burville Cider Mill. There was construction on the road and we had to wait for the green light. Right behind the green light, the Burrville Cider Mill was on the left.

We met the owner and he was quite nice. However, when we asked about buying cider, he said he was out of them. They were completely sold out. They are so popular.

Its cider though is super delicious. Next time, we will hopefully get some more cider. It's cider is fantastic!

You can feel the history. The cider is the best.

By William S |

I have been going to the Burrville Cider Mill for over 50 years and every visit makes me feel like a kid. Watching the apples being smashed and ground into cider is a learning experience for anyone who has never seen. You always want to get a free taste before you grab some jugs, freshly made donuts or anything else that catches your eye before leaving.

great place to stop for a treat

By Carol H |

We decided to check it out while staying in Watertown and we are glad that we did. What a gem. We really enjoyed our visit. The cider is so refreshing and the donuts were warm and delicious. Plus the store had many interesting items for sale. We enjoyed watching a group of school children learning how to make apple cider. There were so many varieties of apples that we could buy. We especially enjoyed the waterfalls and learning the history of the place.

An Annual Stop

By Patrick H |

The Burrville Cider Mill is not so much an attraction as it is, in essence, a store selling fresh cider, donuts, cheese curd, and the like. It is truly a rite of fall to stop by at least once, but don't expect an experience. A must, however, is t walk out back of the mill and take a few photos from the deck with a waterfall backdrop.

Best Apple Cider Anywhere!

By Jeepman4x4 |

You will never find better Apple cider anywhere. Had a unique Northern New York Apple taste. Yummmm!!!!

Best Cider Ever

By Tabitha J |

Much more to this little place than meets the eye. If you get a chance to stop the donuts are totally out of this world. Lots of gifts and treats for every palette.

Apples and maple

By Kirk H |

Tons of apples ( the only name you need is Honey crisp), jams, jellies, other fruits, and most importantly the doughnuts. They are amazing all the time, but the fresh out of the oven doughnuts will make you sick from eating too many.

DON'T MISS THIS SIMPLE BUT FUN STOP!

By U4122GWfrankc |

Great fun stop for GREAT apple cider, apple cider donuts and maple fudge!! Easy to get to; apples everywhere along with a beautiful waterfall on a quaint site! We went on a Sunday afternoon and didn't expect to see a long line outside waiting to purchase cider, apples and other "fun foods"! We were recommended to the visit by locals at the hotel where we were staying and it was worth every second of our time...a truly fun and memorable experience for sure!! We took cider and donuts to go and wow...still enjoyed it along the route on our long return journey home!

Will definitely stop again.

By Jolene S |

We purchased delicious donuts, cider, and maple butter. There’s a nice selection of handcrafted items in their gift shop. Beautiful waterfall makes for a nice photo opportunity after enjoying the donuts and cider.

yummy

By ees1207 |

had fresh cider and warm cider donuts! HIGHLY recommend both! Very nice waterfalls. Parking was tight and port a potty for rest room

Wonderful community staple

By bummedinmb |

Fresh apple cider donuts, apple cider, cheese curds, and other northern new York delicates...who wouldn't want to go. Beautiful scenery for a family photo opportunity. Definitely a family memory for many.

Sweeter than Apple cider

By David C |

If you like homemade donuts and cider that's the place to go. Donuts cooking and free sample cider. Big Bins of apples to your liking. Unusual snacks like fudge timer cheese curd, And many more. Unusual and nice country gifts.

Can't beat this fall tradition!

By mkeenan28 |

The cider donuts are a must-get every fall! This adorable place is a Watertown tradition, loaded with local products and yummy goodies.

Awesomeness

By Susan D |

Always a tradition. The best cider around, beautiful falls, large crowds on weekends and holidays. Great donuts...a must have especially freshly baked and warm. The Steiner family are very nice to!

Love Burrville!!

By Emily B |

My absolute favorite place to get homemade Apple Cider!!! Will miss so much when we move in 10 months.

Overpriced

By Jen P |

This has always been my look forward place to go. Sadly with their pricing continuing to sky rocket I will no longer drive the 6 times to go there. $9 a dozen small donuts and nearly $6 a gallon has me now with no reason to look forward to Fall. Thanks Burrville for cutting out the budgeted people. 👌

Great cider and doughnuts

By TrendyTraveler12 |

I come here every year for donuts and cider! The apple cider shush is the best. I look forward to coming here every year.

Good donuts and waterfall view

By Linda L |

Nice place for a quick stop to view the falls but very small and crowded inside. Hard to park due to the crowds. Good handmade donuts. Slightly hard to find and out of the way of normal travel.

Great way to spend a sunday

By Becky L |

We try to visit the cider mill every year!! Such a great family that owns the business! Friendly staff and always a great experience ! Thank you Steiner family!

I loved it.

By Christina S |

I bought some fresh apples and ate cider donuts that I am convinced were a religious experience. Watched the waterfall and observed what has to be the tiniest cider pressing operation ever! I loved that they sell local products and grabbed a cheese stuffed dill pickle which was also just stupid good. If I lived nearby, this would be a regular stop for me in apple season.

A good taste of the local area!

By Matthew13601 |

Amazing cider, donuts and local items. Samples! Watch the cider being pressed!! It's a family tradition that we go every year!!

Apple cider for the Fall season

By Maureen H |

Had a delightful visit to Burrville Cider Mill for freshest cider donuts, apple cider; a view of the waterfall behind the building and bonus delightful visit with the owner, her granddaughter; we learned a little about the Beese's aviary and got some honey too.

Hot and Fresh donuts and cider...not to mention the fudge!

By JDB1958 |

Friends recommend this hidden gem and we quite enjoyed it. Fall specials were delicious. Definitely recommend.

Favorite Fall Activity!

By Bermudabluez |

Each fall, we take a day trip to the Burrville Cider Mill for their cider and fresh donuts. Everyone is always pleasant and the donuts are so fresh! The cider slush drinks are great! Highly Recommend!

Cute Little Place

By whiskeysix |

Cute little place with a darling waterfall behind it. Very neat operation where they process the apples. The donuts are good and are made fresh.

Love this place.

By Erika H |

My husband come here ever fall to purchase freshly picked apples and apple cider donuts. The donuts are always fresh and hot and are the best we've ever had. This is definitely a great place to come as a couple or with the family.

Great apple products

By John W |

Pretty waterfall. We purchased donuts, cider and cider slushies. All very good. Small shop and parking lot.

A must stop for when traveling through

By DAKonop |

Whether it is for the Cider or donuts and fudge, you have to at least make one visit. There is a great deal of history to see and think about. Originally a sawmill and gristmill built in 1801, it is a piece of history that tells a great story. Then go and buy a great donut. It was a great worthwhile visit!

Not to miss

By Judy |

This seasonal gem is a must see. Their cider & fresh homemade doughnuts are always a hit. Hard to leave the parking lot without a bite! Parking is often tough so take spot on road as parking lot often full. Several gift items available along with varieties of apples, pumpkins, gourds etc. And be sure to walk around the building to see the waterfall.

Seasonal favorite!

By Sue7914 |

Seasonal favorite. If you like cider and fresh donuts this is the place to go. Beautiful scenery out back. We take a yearly family picture.

Fun for kids

By jtraveler83 |

Our family recently went here with children ages 2-5. It's a cider mill so not a ton of items for adults but the young ones were fascinated by the apple pressing. There is also a nice waterfall on the back. The cider donuts are awesome.

Yummy donuts

By mmrange |

Their apple cider donuts are wonderful! It has a pretty waterfall and you can watch cider being pressed. It was fun, but it is not an all day event, just a couple hours at the most. Not a whole lot to do.

Burrville cider mill

By Nancy P |

Love this place and the kids really enjoy the scenery apples, candy, cider, donuts etc!!! The water falls are usually flowing pretty good. But not this year water was slow flowing but still very beautiful

Fall Must Do

By Susie M |

For anyone born and raised here, the Fall can not come to a end without a trip to the Cider Mill. Stop and hang by the falls, then inside for donuts and cider. I could not imagine having Fall and not going for the annual visit.

Check expiration dates!

By Jean H |

We bought 2 bags of honey hard candy. I never thought to check expiration dates, this was last years candy. I did message them on their Facebook page and they told me to bring it back for a refund. We were on a road trip of New York and were already out of the area, so that wasn't an option, we were stuck with old chewy hard candy.

Their doughnuts and cider were good, though.

Fantastic Visit, Classic Environment

By marcusr |

Loved our return visit. We stumbled upon the Cider Mill a few years ago and enjoyed it so much we took a special trip just to see it again. Cider, baked goods and fudge are delicious and fresh. A cider slushy is must try.

Always Great

By RiverT24 |

I have been coming here since I was little. It has changed very little. Still the best cider and donuts ever. If you are used to the pasteurized cider this will be better. If you are expecting a quick visit, or uncrowded, get there very early. I have brought my family here and they return with other friends and family. The process and viewing area is quite basic and does exactly what it needs to. No large factory needed. The shop area is small with lots packed in there. It will take a bit to get to the checkout if it is crowded so be patient and plan to wait. I will return next year and be first in line for cider donuts again.

Best Apple Cider!

By Opie1993 |

Great place if you like everything Apple!
Friendly employees, fast service, delicious foods and treats!
100% Apple Cider 1gallon and 1/2gallon
Donuts made fresh. Sugar cinnamon, and plain.
An assortment of jar'd goods.
I believe they do a little tour of the mill.?? Also a nice water fall to see.
Took my 2 year old daughter and she had blast watching all the apples get processed!

Fabulous and fun.

By Yvette |

The cider mill had just opened for the season and the delectable smells emanating were amazing. I bought enough fresh apples for some pies along with cider, maple candy and cider doughnuts.

Be sure to walk behind the mill to see the ancient damn and river.

A wonderful slice of history - and tastes awesome too!

By desertyankee |

This family owned and operated gem is a truly one of a kind experience. On your way in grab a bushel and pick some fresh local fruit, apples, pears, squash, whatever. They press all cider on site from locally owned apple orchards only. And man it is the best there is, period. And don't forget the cider donuts - incredible. I challenge anyone to stop in and grab a half gallon or so plus a half dozen donuts and make it home without sneaking some. Forget it! They have all sorts of other mainly NY state products from Croghan bologna, maple syrup and cheese curd to well. . . you name it!

By kitten_moss |

This is the place for donuts!!! Hands down, melt in your mouth donuts! There's a waterfall behind the building that has a fenced trail. There's also a nice assortment of apples when apple picking is in season. Def worth checking out.

Excellent place to visit

By Jennifer C |

Excellent place to get New York apples, apple cider, apple cider donuts that are freshly made right there, apple cider slushies, etc. Families can see how apple cider is made. There is a small waterfall behind the building that is a great place to take pictures of family with the apple cider slushies. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who wants fresh apples and apple cider. I go every year several times when they are open. They even have a website which is burrvillecidermill.com. They do ship their products as well.

By nurse1sue |

Burrville cider mill is across the creek behind my house. It's such a great old historic building. In the fall you can find no end of apples from this area, fresh cider, maple syrup, crafts and gifts, and fresh made cider donuts that are still hot when them bag them for you. They also carry numerous flavors of fudge. It can be very busy, especially on weekends, so don't be surprised if you have to park up the road and walk a bit. Pretty waterfall next to it, and places to sit and watch the water. A great place to spend a nice fall day. Wish they were open year round.

Great Fall Visit

By FrequentFlier771760 |

Great prices on all bins of apples, even Honey Crisp are included in the all the same price deals there.
Fresh pressed Cider is delicious and the fresh homemade dougnuts are so good but a bit pricy.
Great photo op at the little falls area next to the building. We make a trip at least once a year

Great Cider and atmosphere

By sharonar523 |

Apple cider is great, but the donuts are the best! Especially when they're warm! Yum! And while you're enjoying your donut, go out back and enjoy the waterfalls!

100% worth a visit!

By ShanaH |

My family and I love the mill! Whether you get hot cider or cider slushies, you can't go wrong. Don't forget the cider donuts, jams, and local products. We visited earlier this year than normal, because we moved from the area. Best wishes to the family who runs it, it's delicious!

Fall family favorite

By brian j |

The BCM is a huge favorite of our family's. This is a must see fall destination! The local apples and fresh donuts and cider can't be beat! Also a great location for fall photos.

Amazing Family Outting

By Stacy S |

Amazing family vibe here. Happy to go every year for not only apples but apple cider donuts. They are amazing!

Quaint and Tasty

By snapweezer |

Check this place out during apple season. It is a great place to buy apples and fresh cider. The hot apple cider donuts are to die for. The back deck is a great place for a waterfall backdrop to take pictures when the water is flowing well. You can also watch them make the cider the old fashion way..

Nice place

By Ann K |

Great selection of apples that you can mix in the same bag. Delicious cider slushees and donuts. Worth the trip.

A delicious experience, not to be missed!

By Radhgemd |

You can watch the cider being made if you time your trip right. Just check their website or give a call before your visit. The location is as sweet as their products. And did I mention their fresh donuts! Every visit my little guy is offered a bonus sample. Staff is lovely and friendly. Lot of local treats to be found and don't forget to pick up your peck of apples, lots of varieties to select from!

Bring the kids for a Saturday afternoon treat.

By 315Ray |

When the Fall comes and you are looking for something to do, this is a great place to spend some time at. A cider spigot lets you taste the cider they make before buying and the donuts they make in front of you are warm and delicious. Buy extra donuts because most will be eaten before you make it home!

Donut run!

By Amber Scott |

Have heard amazing things about their donuts. We decided to try them out! We recieved them fresh and hot and OMG ... AMAZING!! Next time we will be buying Apples, that is for sure! The place and atmosphere is just beautiful!

Good donuts but........

By Bill C |

Our daughter and son-in-law moved to Watertown. She had heard good things about the cider mill so off we went. Apparently there were very few people in western NY who hadn't heard of this place. We stood in line, did I mention my daughter is pregnant, for over 45 minutes! Once inside I was a little disappointed. A typical tourist place with cook books, souvenirs and such. The star attraction was/is the warm apple doughnuts and they are excellent. But.....can't I get them with out waiting in a line? I could go for the doughnuts anytime but if I gotta wait in that line I have had them for my only time.

great old school atmosphere and great donuts

By theJeepDAD |

great time, smaller but the people are fun and the location is fantastic, tight parking but worth the issue for the Donuts and fresh apples. will revisit next trip up..

Fall at Burrville

By celticfun |

Great supply of fresh apples and awesome cider. The donuts are by far the best you can ever eat. Made fresh all day long every day.

A fall favorite

By stephanie B |

My kids litterly count down the days through summer until this store opens. Ths donuts are yummy. The apple cider was slightly different this year accrording to my kids but overall still gd.

Fun and delicious

By Kevin B |

Excellent cider and cider donuts...you know the kind with the cinnamon sugar! Super delicious on a fall day and you can tour the cider press as well as buy ton's of local items in the gift store. We bought several cookbooks and have enjoyed making the good local recipes from them, such as maple candy and apple cider cream pie.

The waterfall out back of the mill is really pretty and scenic when there is water going over it. It used to power the mill back in the day before it was damned further upstream.

Cider is sweet

By Bdulmage |

Open until Thanksgiving. The cider is now real sweet and full flavor. The shop has many cute country crafts and food. Cider donuts are hot and hard to beat. Walk around the side of the building at take a look at the waterfall.

YOU MUST GO THERE

By Thomas H |

GO THERE!!!! The cider is awesome---always has been---and the cider DONUTS have been sent down to earth by GOD HIMSELF/HERSELF. Probably HERSELF. Perhaps you'd like to but Watertown is 2 hours out of your way? Well, I will be driving 6. Sure, seeing my mother factors in, but I will be spending about half the time thinking about the cider donuts. GO THERE !!!!!

Seasonal Delight!

By Kym_Keil |

Our favorite fall spot in the North Country! Cider Donuts, Fresh Apple Cider, Cider pressing demos in the morning, beautiful waterfall, and local apples and pumpkins! Festively Fun every year!

A nice Gem for the area

By Gina B |

Burrville Cider Mill is such a great little place. You have to try the homemade cider donuts as well as the apple cider. The cheese is really good also. It isnt a very big place and parking is at a premium on a busy day. In the fall is when they are in full swing. If nothing else go for the hot donuts you wont regret it.

It's a store. Hard to see the cider making.

I was really expecting something more. Very small store. Donuts are good and fresh. But the access to the "cider mill" was not what I expected. I wouldn't budget more than 30 minutes.

Heaven on Earth!!!

By Mary E |

What was once just a small mill is now a wonderful enterprise. The aroma of apples and cider donuts greet you before you are in the building. Bins of different varieties of regional apples, at incredible prices, await you. Where else can you still buy a peck or half peck of apples?! There was a line to purchase the delish delights inside. It moved quickly and most people were discussing their upcoming treats. Slushed cider, freshly pressed cider in half or full gallons, mulled cider (STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS), a variety of baked goods, and.. you can't go here without trying these, apple cider donuts. There are also different local treats, honey, jams, crafts and more. The waterfall was just a trickle, but still beautiful. This local treasure is a delight you don't want to miss!

awesome place

this is a awesome place to visit in the fall great idar and doughnuts and the water falls in the back is just so beutiful

Autumn Must!

By littlebirdie3 |

We have gone here ever autumn since my children were small (they're all in their 30's now). I absolutely cannot go to this side of town & not get a gallon of cider and fresh donuts & a bag of apples. If I'm on my way to visit relatives in Albany, I am required to stop and get apples & cider to bring to them. I would advise, if you can, visit mid week, as this is a small establishment & it can get very crowded on weekends (w difficulty finding a parking spot). However, it is very much worth the trip. Don't forget to take a peek at the falls behind the mill.

Hot Cider Donuts

By Zou Y |

There is the waterfall, the mill, apples, pears, free cider samples, but don't leave without a dozen just fried cinnamon sugar cider donuts

Nice view!!

By Ashley S |

Loved looking at the waterfall. The donuts were good. The cider press isn't much to look at. We thought it was an orchard, but it is just the press, store, and waterfall. It was a good experience for what it was. We were able to buy apples there.

We went for cider but got apples and donuts

By Amsie32 |

We stopped by to get some Apple Cider and found apples and pumpkins outside as we grabbed a few of each we walked inside the quaint little store... looking around you see little homemade gifts and souvenirs. We found the apple cider to sample and it was delicious. We also bought some beeswax, bars of soap and of course APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS . The doughnuts were light airy and delicious.. they sell the apple cider doughnuts plain or with cinnamon sugar... both are equally delicious.. a very nice view of a waterfall is in the back of the building. Yes there is the option to watch them mash up the apples for cider making but it was closed. The store is great to stop and visit and try the cider this time of the year.. I love the fall.. I drove home and ate some fresh apples that were in the wooden crates the I choose. Very nice, very fall..

The Best Apple Cider Donuts!

By Joann R |

We stopped in Burrville Cider Mill on our way through Watertown and we were so glad we did! Watching the cider press, tasting a large variety of apples just picked from the orchard, sampling fresh apple cider and of course the apple cider donuts! The owner gave us some history of the mill that's been run by his family for generations. There is a waterfall behind the mill too! Nice addition to our visit.

A must stop visit in the North Country

By StunningEngraving |

Waterfalls, Apple Cider, Apple Cider Donuts and so much more in this cute country store. We go here a few times every year!

Hidden jem

Over a century old mill with awesome views from the back deck. Local delicacies for sale in the store and best price on apples anywhere. The cider mill is a must see in Jefferson county.

A Must Stop for Everyone

By PLcoppell |

The Cider Mill opens once apple harvest stops. The cider is fresh without any preservatives. I have been visiting since I was a kid. The cider is the best in the country having travelled far and wide. Since I was a kid, they have added donuts. Mom will tell you that these are the best raised donuts that they have ever had.

Hands On view of Cider Making

By Dave C |

The cider is excellant and so are the homemade donuts etc. Best of all you can watch the cider making process at no charge. And the view of the falls is very nice. Bring the kids in the fall and get your hallween apples and pumpkins

Best cider donuts!!

By Clover S |

The waterfalls behind the mill are not only beautiful but they have a history in the success of the cider mill. The mill does a small tour to view the presses and process of making apple cider. When you finish looking around and taking pictures u get to sample the cider before you buy.

Not what I thought

By Kathy S |

This place was a lot smaller than I thought. Donuts were a day old. I couldn’t find the waterfall. We literally walked in & right back out.

Best donuts ever!!!

By rxmommy |

Tiny little place that has been there for years. You can watch them press the apples. They have the best apple fritters anywhere! People stand in line for hot donuts all the time! Great waterfall for picture taking. The fall is the best time to visit!!

Great Cider Mill - busy, friendly staff, fun place to visit

By RoadWarrior47 |

We stopped on our way to the 1000 Islands region. They have a nice little store, cider samples, a food bar with hot mulled cider and interesting gifts. Many varieties of fresh apples to buy and awesome donuts. I will definitely stop again and/or go a little out of my way when traveling in this area again.

Fall back Home...

By AlwaysPlanning-TRIP |

I don't live in Northern New York anymore, but I never fail to make it home in the month of either September or October in order to visit The Burrville Cider Mill. The Cider Mill is an institution in Jefferson County and has been there for at least eight decades! The lip-smacking cider, the incomparable cider donuts, the mulling spice, and local favorites such as cheese curd and Croghan bologna make this a necessary stop in the fall. Picturesque and perched on a hill in the hamlet of Burrville it is, if nothing else, a perfect place to gather your family in front of a waterfall for a beautiful fall picture.

First time visiting

A great little shop with a lot more than just apples. Wouldn't call it a 'must see' but worth the short drive from Watertown

The doughnuts are excellent warm

Great Donuts, Sub-par Tour

By Liz Boyer |

Fantastic apples, apple products, and fresh donuts. However, the website implies that tours are available. Said tours are self-guided, which in this case means walking around to the lower level of the building into a concrete space and watching as silent workers went about the process of making apples into cider. While I’m not expecting a beautiful facility, it would have been nice of some information about the process had been available.

great donuts

By Joe R |

Very nice place great donuts nice selection of things in the store waterfall out back wasn't running due to drought but looked cool anyway would definitely go back worth the trip

Nice visit

By R3259MWjamesb |

Nice cider mill, the store was small but very nice. Local products and a diverse selection. Staff were very helpful, informative and friendly.

A nice place to visit with everyone, and in an hour we were done.

It was worth the trip, only a few miles out of town

By KGovocek |

A must to visit if you are near Fort Drum or Watertown NY. Open in the fall (apple harvest) this little mill is lovely to see. They will show you how they press the cider, there are samples, a lovely waterfall, crafts, local cheeses and products and the famous apple cider donuts made right there in the shop! Our 4 and 3 yr old enjoyed picking out their own apples to take home!

Excellent

By laurahollenbeck |

Ice gift shop and a nice selection of snacks. Like cheese, fudge, chicolate, candies, honey, coffee. The best donuts ever. And a beautiful water falls behind it.

Great Cider Great Waterfall

AAAAA+++++ Cider, service, sights, sounds, donuts and gift shops, Wheelchair accessible. Homer Rebb was first to use mill as cider mill, and was originally built in 1801.

Apple Annie Would Be Proud

By TACOB0B |

Stopped by in late October. We picked up some honey, pumpkin butter, and some apple butter. We also got some hot apple cider to go and tried a plain cider donut. On our 9 day road trip across the northeast we have stopped at a few cider mills and tried the cider and donuts. The cider at other places we have tried just tasted like apple juice but the hot cider at Burrville was outstanding. As far as the donut, at other places we had them both hot and cold and we could never figure out what the big deal was. Burrville's cider donut was just amazing and we later stopped down the street at Steiner's (which is run by the same family) and bought an entire pack of them because they were so incredible. I hope the rest of the items we purchased are as good as the cider and donuts. Great farm stand but no warm and fuzzy feelings from the staff.

Must go see!!!!

By crazydee55 |

Must go here! Great aroma hits you as soon as door opens of vehicle. Aroma of apples and cinnamon. Their donuts are deliciously addictive!!!! Great cider! Nice friendly folks!

Wonderful little place

By Susanne B |

Everybody should go at least one time during apple season and try/ purchase their delicious fresh pressed apple cider and the “ must eat “ fresh baked apple cider donuts ( warning ⚠️ you can’t eat just one they are so yummy !!! 😋 ) They also have a lot of other items at their store and outside several bins with apples. You are even able to see how their cider is being made and there is a beautiful waterfall in the back.

REAL working cider mill

By socalmom2013 |

The best cider in the world. See the apples going through the presses, and the water wheel. Takes you back a century in time.

Worth it for the donuts!

By TiaP0417 |

We went to the mill based off TripAdvisor saying it was a top thing to do in the Watertown area. Best apple donuts I've ever had! The store was small, but did offer a nice variety of local items. Honey, fresh apples, apple cider just to name a few. It was worth it just if you want the donuts. Have to warn you, parking was a bit of a nightmare. And when we went the line was out the door and into the parking lot, but it moved pretty fast. We didn't walk to the waterfall, so I can't comment on that part.

Gotta have it

By al6car |

This place has been around forever under various owners. Present owners are doing a fabulous job. The cider is delicious and always in transition as the season progresses. The donuts are delightful. The store has a variety of local items and the apples that you can pick out of the crates for purchase are reasonably priced and you can't beat a n.y. apple!

A must for the Fall season!

By Della R |

Quaint cider mill with the best donuts around, excellent place to bring the family, enjoy the falls and indulge in some goodies.

Cider Mill a nice experience

By David R |

When we go to Watertown NY,it is usually to do a little shopping and quick bite to eat. This time we decided to do an overnight trip to Watertown and decided to try to find something interesting around the area.. We decided to take a trip to the Burville Cider Mill. The nice thing about it it a short distance out of Watertown, so if you are in town for a short time it a quick side trip. The mill is located beside a small waterfall so it nice to go around back and look at the scenic falls. The store is really nice with cider, apples and a wide variety products for sale. The cider is wonderful and the atmosphere of the store is friendly -- highly recommended

BEST CIDER IN THE NORTH COUNTRY

Fresh Apple Cider, Donuts, and cheese. Nice trip right outside of Watertown. You must check for when they are open. Enjoy this little side trip for an hour or two.

A must visit in the fall.

By Mai L |

Beautiful location. The falls behind the mill are worth a photo. Good selection of fall Tapples and pumpkins. Donuts are freshly made and yummy. the cider is good, as is the fudge.
