All It Claims to Be

Nature's way created this deep canyon cut through the mountains. En route over the falls, Little Bushkill Creek now marks the way to the Delaware River.

The managers of this property have done a suburb job making it accessible for us to enjoy. Great sight!

Scenic

By Hola4876 |

Visited many waterfalls in the Pocono's, Bushkill Falls is the only one to charge. The paths to Bushkills Falls is easy, a lot of wood paths - pay attention because the steps are sporadic and blend into the flat portion of the path. If you want to go on to Bridal Veil Falls, be smarter than we were: wear hiking boots, long pants, a backpack to keep your hands free, and a walking stick.

Admission is now $20 per person.

By Sarah H |

Admission is now $20 per person and $10 for kids ages 4-12. Is it worth the price? The falls and walkways are beautiful. The facilities are not well maintained. The staff is jaded. I can’t really blame them as the tourists are not the kindest here. You’ll just have to decide for yourself, I guess.

challenging hike

By Beth K |

The waterfalls were nice but this is more about the hike. Lots of posted signs saying some parts of the trails are for avid hikers only. That is true. There is a lot of uneven terrain-rocks and tree roots in the path, There are uneven stairs getting you to the top and bottom of each of the small waterfalls. Anytime you go down you have to go back up at some point. Kids were handling it better than some of the adults. There are some wildflowers along the way-cardinal flower and jewelweed.
Don't bother to buy the map. They give you a brochure with a map it it and there are plenty of maps along the way. Make sure you have a bottle of water with you.
It was a challenging but enjoyable experience.

Last min trip to Bushkill Falls

By Chadrick P |

The views of the waterfalls do not disappoint. They have taken great care to ensure that you have ample opportunities to take photos. I didn’t do much research before visiting (last min whim), so I was a bit surprised upon arrival to see gift shops, snack stands, and lines of people similar to Disney.
Maybe a slight exaggeration. All-in-all, this was a terrific experience and the scenery is beautiful. The park is well run, clean, parking was easy, and the red loop trail wasn't too difficult for an avid hiker. There are a lot of steps, though.

Greed and time have caused this place to age

By Jody P |

this is a gaudy, expensive tourist trap. We went there because my parents went there on their honeymoon and had a wonderful time. I can see how it probably was nice, but now it's not. It's lost its home feel. I'm sure there's a way to make good money from this without losing the original feel of the place. It's a shame it's gone downhill in the atmosphere and integrity dept.

We survived the Yellow trail!

By LyTravels |

On a weekend trip to Philadelphia, we drove up early on a Saturday morning to the Poconos Mountains to visit Bushkill. The Falls are breathtaking. There are 3 trails you can hike. Green, which is the easiest at shortest. It’s only 15 minutes. The Popular trail or yellow trail was 45 minutes. And the red trail was about 2-2 & 1/2 hours. We opted out of that one. The main Falls is spectacular and you can see it from any train you choose. The trees are marked so that you can easily access your route. It is really a hike so be prepared. The good thing about it is their are stairs. There is also food places and restrooms at the start. Be sure to use the restroom and get you some water before you start the hike. We went in September so the weather wasn’t too hot or too cold. It was perfect.

Great hike!

By lacie G |

Perfect day trip. Cost $22 but worth every penny. It receives no federal funding so every bit of the admission cost goes back into maintaining, and as you’ll see there is a lot to maintain on its awesome trails and bridges and look outs. You have to see it in person to fully appreciate it. It’s not just a boring hike in the woods, it’s very scenic and a lot of elevation changes.

Wow!

By Pamela R |

It I so nice! I understand why there is an admission fee. There is a lot to upkeep in all the boardwalks and pathways that are built into the mountainside. We walked down to the falls. It was breathtaking. I have been to bigger falls but not in Pennsylvania. Although it was a hot day the air along the water was comfortable. The walkways made it passable for even me with my cane.

COVID 19 party

By Bill H |

Masks are required on all trails, but it is not enforced. There were a lot of people without masks and in most places it is impossible to stay a safe distance away from them. I would highly recommend staying away if you are at all concerned about corona virus (as you should be) especially at this price.

GORGEOUS!

By A L |

We arrived upon opening at 9 a.m. - had the place to ourselves until we were about to leave. We were not able to walk all the trails. (bad knee) this place is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!! LOTS of steps-LOTS! I highly recommend! Restrooms very clean and the gift shop was nice. The rest of the place wasn't open before we left (snack area and Nature center)

Hiking at the Falls

By RMM |

Enjoyed a great workout with beautiful views on the red trail (most difficult option out of the 3). We viewed all the falls on this trail. There are many stairs, rocky, and steep hills throughout. Not ideal for toddlers or not so active adults. The other 2 trails would be more suitable for these groups. To combat waiting in a very long line, purchase tickets online and print. Or screenshot the barcoded tickets on your phone because there is no cell service or it is very limited in random areas. We were able to bypass the line and walk directly to the entrance. Line for ticket holders is on the left and there is no wait. There are benches to take a break while hiking. Bring water and use the bathroom before entering. Also, try visiting during the week or later in the day to avoid crowds. There were a lot of people on Saturday.

Overpriced, crowded and not so great

By P. Audrain |

We came on a Wednesday and there were many people. $15 per person is grossly excessive. It is even more expensive on weekends! Though the falls are worth to see there is nothing really spectacular here and we all thought that it was quite a rip-off overall.

Beautiful Bushkill

By Tami M |

It was a beautiful day and the scenery was gorgeous!! We hikes the yellow trail. It was a great day trip and hike. Nice speciality shops and food.

Just avoid

By Foodjunkie2004 |

I undsrstand people want to see this place. But it is not worth it. The staff that i interacted with, very very rude. The mask being required to wear outside where distancing can be obtained, is a joke. I AM IN THE OUTDOORS.

On top of covid, the cost was very expensive for a family of 4.

This place charges you extra money for things they shouldn’t charge you for. And their pathways are claustrophobic.

By Keith Robert Cunz |

It was nice seeing the waterfalls. But the pathways were very cramped and claustrophobic. There were trees growing in the middle of the path, and it’s roots sticking out to trip people. After you make it out of the trees there is rocks everywhere, so they need to improve it. When I was done the hike at their ice cream place they charged you for thing they shouldn’t have. If you wanted Ice Cream in a cone they changed you an extra dollar for the cone. If that wasn’t enough when I ordered a ice cream in a cup and I wanted them to put a cone on top, they charged 2 dollars for it. If your going here just make sure to wear good sneakers. Don’t stop at any of their shops or attractions find another place to do their attractions and get ice cream.

Hike and picnic went great.

By Mike D |

Great views. The trails and wooden walkways are in excellent condition. My mom honeymooned in the Poconos in the 1950s and we have pictures of her there, We met my brother and his family and hiked and had a picnic. I was surprised at how crowded it was.

Lots of falls in a single location. Great fun.

By GFrank333 |

There are a whole series of falls, all within walking distance along wooden walkways/bridges and dirt paths. The owners have mapped different routes for the visitors in terms of overall distance and difficulty. We opted for the moderate difficulty trail, which still had some steep steps but not too bad. The trails could have been better marked but it was nearly impossible to get lost. Great fun. Parking is ample and there are shops where you can get souvenirs, snacks, water. There is a fee you pay when you are ready to take the trail to the falls.

Skip leg day at the gym

By therese l |

A beautifully designed walk that allows views of several falls and the gorge. Not necessary to buy the "official trail map" for $3 if you have the regular brochure (they give you one) and some common sense. Trails are easily marked.

Most people - including me - take the Yellow Trail that gives views of the falls, but there are other more strenuous trails available. There's also a shorter Green trail for those who don't want to do stairs, but this is definitely not Accessible for people with mobility issues.

We walked the Yellow Trail "backwards," turning to the right at the top of the trail and coming down on the far side where most people are climbing up, and would go this way again. As the man at the ticket counter said, "what goes down must come up," and we had to climb back up the steps on the other side of the gorge.

But the view is definitely worth it! There are landings where you can stop and enjoy the view and pretend that the stairs aren't challenging. Even though there were plenty of other people there when we visited, we never felt crowded or rushed.

Must see! Poor to no cell phone reception on trails

By Jay9875 |

Awesome! Allow 3 hours and hike the yellow, red, and blue trails. Bring water, selfie stick, and fully charged camera. Just awesome! But little or no cell signal on the trails.

By Mike G |

We were at your place on October 2, 2025 at approximately 11:00. We were passing through the entrance, and your female employee, about 45-50 years old, in a very rude manner began to check and directly throw away our things, especially food, and she did it selectively, checking someone, and sometimes not and simply letting them through. She made my daughter take out all the food and even snacks (although snacks are allowed) and turned us away, almost bringing my daughter to tears in a very rude manner, she did not react to my remark. We drove for several hours not so that some impolite person would reprimand and humiliate us. Therefore, I ask you to take measures against her and not allow her to work with people. This disappointed us very much and we will all advise you not to go here, because the employees are rude and impolite, cannot explain the rules and publicly humiliate their clients. And the young man was very friendly and kind. In general, the nature is extraordinary and pleasant. But I can't go there yet, I'm just telling everyone this story.

very nice but over priced and extremely overcrowded

By Ezy S |

very nice but over priced and extremely overcrowded in the summer months. was not overly impressed but still had nice outing but highly doubt ill go back there anytime soon. there are nice falls to see in there area that are free and basically empty

There’s a drought on, so waterfalls are just a trickle!

By Emm |

There’s a drought on right now. We’ve previously enjoyed the falls and we were looking forward to going back. But the falls are just a trickle! Be sure to check ahead of time, especially if you are going now, in the fall. The walking trail of stairs and platforms is well maintained and it’s a lovely hike in spite of the drought.

Nice afternoon

By SD1189 |

Today was our first visit to Bushkill Falls. Overall it’s a beautiful area with a few different trails ranging from short/easy to long/challenging. We saw people of all ages and abilities and some even brought their dogs. It’s a nice way to spend an afternoon hiking trails and admiring the beautiful woods and falls. I caution everyone to wear appropriate footwear. I wore a new supportive pair of sneakers and still twisted my ankle. Trails that go off the boardwalk are VERY rustic and have tons of roots and rocks to navigate. I also want to warn everyone that the steps and trails are STEEP. Very steep so if you have heart issues or mobility issues consider which trail you pick carefully. We walked the red trail counter-clockwise and boy was it challenging at the end getting up all those stairs. Totally worth it though! For comparison: A couple years ago we hiked down to Bashbish Falls in the Birkshires and we consider that to be shorter and easier than this red trail here at Bushkill. Also Bashbish was free, Bushkill has an expensive entrance fee.

Great hiking trails!

By Linda H |

Well groomed, well marked, well used and four different trail options, depending on the length of your desired hike. The river and falls were picturesque and there were several spots along the trails where we could stop for pictures. If you're in the Poconos, this is definitely on the bucket list.

Eh

By Kelly |

Well I got a workout. The views didn’t impress me. So many other beautiful trails that are free. I’d recommend saving your money and going to one of those.

Respite in the Poconos

By Chipster937 |

I enjoyed an hour and a half walk on the red/blue trail along the falls during the Military Monday where I entered for free! Beautiful falls with the main fall truly being the "Niagra of Pennsylvania." The trails are marked with level of difficulty: Green, Yellow, Red, Blue. Red and Blue are the longest hikes and entail lots of steps, tree ruts, and rocks along Little Bushkill Creek. There's plenty of benches along the trails with an overlook area of Delaware Valley. Dogs are allowed. This is not a handicap access area. Restrooms, gift shop, natural displays, and cafe available at the entry point where fees are paid. Adults are $14.50 each. There were several families with children as young as 3 I encountered hiking the trails. Lots of picnic tables in the entry area and plenty of free parking even for large trucks.

Poor customer service

By Crystal C |

A awesome place to see while vacationing in the poconos but the customer service skills of the employees sucked ...so rude yelling at our party with a 2 year old telling us he needed a mask we walk to car get it a mile away and then go in the other lady says if he's 2 he dont need it ...ridiculous they must not know the laws for children 2 and under in Pennsylvania...lady still screaming at every person saying mask mask mask we know the rules people ...went to get our kids icecream they only took credit why do credit for a 3.50 icecream ...falls were awesome but the place itself needed some customer service skills ...

Enjoyable afternoon

By Lisa B |

Beautiful falls with well maintained paths - the wooden bridges just added to the atmosphere. We did the big loop - didn’t seem strenuous but we do a lot of outdoor activities. Really enjoyed our time there!

One of the best falls in the region!

By prakvaid58 |

We have lived just 3 hrs from Bushkill for more than 20 yrs but somehow hadn’t taken the time to visit these falls... but now we did, and we were so thrilled to find these amazing falls!

We stayed for the weekend near Dingmans Ferry and were able to visit the falls...
good thing we went ... what an amazing magical spectacular falls this is!

There are 3 routes , yellow, blue & red depending on the difficulty and time it takes to go around.. we did the blue.. the falls are definitely one of a kind .. the views are beautiful,
Especially in fall!

The restaurant, restrooms, shops add to the facilities available too!
The approach is a road flanked by lakes with the woods as a backdrop.. the fall foliage and reflections were just breathtaking!

Beautiful falls

By EndlesslyCurious |

What a wonderfully well maintained walkway. We went with 7 people, ages 14-87. There was a path for everyone to see the falls and enjoy the woods. The timbering is almost as impressive as the falls. The park was very clean and there were plenty of places to sit for the hikers that didn't want to do the longer paths and finished before others in the group. Also, we could take our dogs, which is a huge plus.

First hike in the Poconos -

By Florida422 |

This is a beautiful place to hike. We took the red trail that was both challenging and rewarding. So many waterfalls and hiking along the water the entire time was very relaxing. We were fortunate that we had a mild sunny day which made the trek even more enjoyable. We went fairly early and many times had the trail to ourselves making it feel more intimate. Highly recommend. As others have said wear sturdy shoes for a better experience.

Calming Walk

By danidb518 |

Nice drive with signage along the way. Plenty of parking. Very clean grounds. Nice gift shop and concession area.
A bit on the expensive side especially when one cannot walk and view all,of the falls, but still a must see in my book.

Wonderful memories

By Kamantha |

I love this place, went there as a teenager, but didn't remember all the steps. It is gorgeous, the sound of the falls is wonderful, but the steps, oh my, 1076 of them. If you have a hard time doing steps, even the easy ones, I would hesitate. We were there on Saturday, and it's Thursday, I still have a hard time getting around. A lot of people (nice) not pushy, all friendly. So, I would say go, with the whole family, well worth the cost and the trip. !

Nice outdoor activity

By Wanderlust |

Bushkill is a great outdoor activity for all ages. The trails are marked and vary from 15 mins to two and half hours, according to your desired type of hike. The trails were clean and well maintained. They are opening at 10am now, due to COVID. Get there early for good parking. They are running at 75% capacity and close the lot once it’s met. Weekends get busy. Everyone respected the signs and were wearing face coverings. There are beautiful views and a lot of stairs, should you choose the more difficult trail. I saw dogs on the trails as well. There are souvenir and food shops by the entrance.

Good walk for a plus size gal. Avoid Trading Post.

By Thelatinagirl S |

Plus Size Review: This is a totally doable walk. I'm size 18-20 and i did it. It's all paved, and stairs, and a boardwalk. Yes, there are lots of stairs, but, the best thing is you can take your time, there is no hurry. Do at your own pace and there's tons of spots to stop and sit or take photos. Bad part: abit expensive ($15 for weekdays and $18 on weekends) and the lady at the trading post was rude as hell, yelled at me for photos. There was no need, I'm not a commercial person, just trying to teach students a lesson and she was rude.

Beautiful, relaxing, kids & old age friendly. Incredible views

By Podroznik68 |

I 80 exit 309, route 209 north. Beautiful area, 4 trails to chose from. We took red, and it was easy for us, there are a lot of steps around the main fall.

Beautiful Falls.... but...

By Karen P |

We got there at 9:30 for 10 am opening. Traffic was already lined up along the road waiting for gate to open. If you think there is social distancing with the trails... think again. They do not limit the amount of people on the trails. They should make some loops one way because it is so narrow in places and most people are just rude when the barrel through the crowd. 80% of the people wear their masks. Not the most pleasant experience... especially when you pay to get in.

Disappointed

By Yelena L |

Normally I'd give a 5 stars for this place... Not this time though... The waterfalls very very shallow (due to a drought); very crowded + wearing the masks made it difficult to climb the steps in the almost 90' weather... Was very disappointing this year. The best time to visit (my opinion) is the Fall and Spring.

Awesome stop .. even with ALL the stairs

By Christina B |

Beautiful park with areas to picnic, buy food & snacks. We took the yellow path .. it was almost too much for my soon to be replaced knee, but I just took my time. Stairs are my enemy right now & there’s a ton of them. Could find no count for the yellow but it’s more than 500… best guess would be around 700 for yellow path. Longer trail people say 2167 stairs/steps. With that sad it’s very well maintained. $20 per person no matter which trail you take. In better days I would have loved to have done the red or blue. The yellow trail allows views from the top of Bushkill and the bottom. It takes you on to other smaller falls & a canyon area. We crossed a Number of sweet dogs who all looked tired 😆We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day !!

A nice day out, hiking

By trekker27nyc |

A nice day out, hiking. With general admission at $22.00/ person, which is a bit steep, it is highly recommended to do the Red Trail, with views of Bridal Veil Falls. This trail is for the avid hiker in that it spans almost 2 miles, includes all eight falls, and takes over 2 hours to hike. If you decide to do any of the lesser trials, that’s ok too but all trials would require sneakers/ hiking boots. There are lots of great photogenic opportunities and realistically, one visit at Bushkill Falls is more than enough.

An amazing sight to behold

By Rahleek W |

The beauty of this place is readily apparent as you traverse the trails and come to the falls. This place was absolutely breathtaking and a beautiful natural fall. I myself and my group truly enjoyed this place!

Beautiful and Relaxing

By SweetAngela333 |

Enjoyed taking the yellow path with my family. The yellow path is moderate. They had longer trails for more experienced hikers and an easier green trail as well, which would take you just a short walk to see the falls. Everything was pretty easy to follow along, took some great pics!

Worth a visit if in the area but don't travel far for it

By Flutegarden |

Calling this the Niagara of PA is quite a stretch. The waterfall isn't that impressive. We took the yellow trail which they say takes 45 minutes - it took us about 20 minutes and we did stop to look. It was all boardwalk which is weird for a hike/trail. There wasn't much else to there and the website isn't accurate. The playground is open although it's not that great. The website says the maze is open everyday but it was only open on weekends and we were disappointed it was closed on a Friday.

Also, no need to buy tickets in advance (at least not on a summer Friday).

All in all, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area but I wouldn't travel very far to go here.

magnificent!!

By Lauren L |

My friend and I went to enjoy the views and hiking. The place is absolutely specatcular!!!
it is a ton of uphill stairs so make sure you wear proper shoes!
The waterfalls, wooden bridges and walkways are absolutely breathtaking. Just wish people wouldn't ruin the experience by litering!
Do no buy th extra map for $3. It is not worth it. The free map they give you with your ticket is even better than the purchased one!

Great Experience

By Jackie F |

Loved this adventure. I have visited PA numerous times and never took the opportunity to see the Falls. I was so sorry I did not do it sooner. What a great Experience. The staff were so welcoming and the admission was so reasonable. The gift shops were filled with affordable and beautiful pieces. The trails were designed to accommodate everyone. Overall this was a location that no one should miss. Please visit this treasure you will not be disappointed

Beautiful Falls

By Outta_Town_1980 |

This is the best place to go to see multiple falls in a single location. There is an entrance fee, but the price is understandable given that there are a lot of trails, steps and bridges that require constant upkeep. It wasn't too busy when we visited and we didn't feel like it was crowded or claustrophobic. The Red Trail is challenging (due to the steps), so keep that in mind if you're out of shape or unable to handle rough terrain. Also, the last part of the Red Trail was closed, so you had to double-back up some very steep stairs.

Wasted Trip

By CDM |

Drove over 2 hours to visit today, as it was a warm fall day. We got there later than planned due to traffic but figured it was still early enough at 3pm since the website said they were open until 5. Once in line, we were told we could buy tickets but need to vacate the property by 4pm, which would not give us time to see everything without rushing. Why even keep selling tickets at $18/pop when you're telling me I have 30 minutes to go through a trail that typically takes 2 hours, according to your website?! The website should clarify early closings. We were not the only ones that left the line frustrated, there were many, without buying tickets because the website stated that they were open until 5. While we were in line, the guy at the ticket counter was rude and was literally shouting and banging on the glass yelling at us while we were contemplating whether we wanted to just leave or not. I'm not sure I ever would want to waste my time going back here, just because of this guy's rudeness! Customer service is definitely not a priority here and it was definitely a wasted trip for us!

Admission is on the pricey side, but the view and scenery are superb

By Michael K |

Of all the waterfalls one can visit on US-209, this is by far the most impressive and well maintained. Of course it comes with a relatively steep admission price. But you can justify the cost on the nice scenery on a nicely laid out boardwalk/step trail with viewing platforms conveniently located at strategic places. If you can get over the sticker shock, this is a place worth visiting.

Absolute Beauty

By Lisa |

One of the most beautiful environments I’ve been blessed to visit. The beauty of the main fall at the end brought tears to my eyes. Such majesty! How lucky the Lenape were to have this as their home... what barbarism occurred to take it from them. But we are here now, and next time I’ll wear better shoes!

DISRESPECTFUL MANAGEMENT

By J B |

Beautiful views turned into an awful Mother’s day due to BAD MANAGEMENT. A woman with short grey hair spoke to me in a very disrespectful tone and accused me of lying to her when I politely asked her to help me with my expired tickets due to the CDC requirements that we not spread Covid 19 by going to public places. She scolded me and I felt like she was trying to prove me wrong. My wife planned an awesome Father’s Day in 2019 I bought tickets i bought 2 adult and 2 child tickets planning to take her and our children for Mother’s Day 2020 but unfortunately the pandemic hit and due to CDC recommendations we postponed our plan. I didn’t realize the tickets expire (which is another reason for the 1 star review) so I asked the manager if it were possible to make an exception. She didn’t show any sympathy and barked at me in a disrespectful tone. “We were open May May of 2020 so you could have come here. Let me see the expiration date on your tickets. Yup! You bought them n 2019, you’re not going to get tickers. Go purchase new tickets.” I reminded her that there was a GLOBAL PANDEMIC (people dying etc..) and she continued to scold me like I was in 4th grade. It was at that’s point I asked her why she was talking to me in a disrespectful tone? She looked away from me and gave me a half hearted apology while at the same time tells me the girl next to her, I can’t help this guy. I persisted regarding the manor of which she spoke to me and as I was standing 5 feet from her she spoke about me, like I wasn’t there, to the girl (tall with long brown hair) saying “all he’s getting is two tickets!” And they shut the door in my face. LITERALLY SHUT THE DOOR IN MY FACE. WHO DOES THIS TO A PAYING CUSTOMER?! I FELT VERY DISRESPECTED. don’t waste your time with people who don’t appreciate your business. Go to Ithaca NY to see amazing water falls and no need to worry about your tickets expiring due to a global pandemic.

A mission

By munecamala |

If you want a work well you'll get one here wooo If your not physically fit to walk and clime stairs donot come here even the basic yellow trail is a challenge..otherwise very pretty view and pictures

A Great Hike

By Ben C |

If you in the area and looking to hike this is a must.. It is mostly manicured with some unmanicured trails but the scenery is second not none. There are a lot of steps up and down and it is a med to high workout.

The trail is nice but not nice enough to get COVID

By Sandy |

When you check in the woman says you must wear your mask the whole time. Well ALOT of people are not wearing their masks. You should have workers enforcing this along the trail. It was very crowded now I am scared I've been exposed to COVID19.

The beauty of fall at the falls

By B.G |

Beautiful well kept trails, friendly staff . Clean restrooms, just an overall wonderful walk with so much beautiful nature to see

Ready to exercise

By psychomaster9 |

Great views in nature and great exercise, must see the water falls, if you start in yellow go to red and then red and blue trails it says that it will take you 2hrs 1/2 but we did it in 45 minutes. Don’t go in sandals please I saw some people with sandals what a mistake

AJ is Awesome!!

By Catherine A |

Great Views, clean & friendly team members. AJ in the ice cream/candy shop was Awesome and extra helpful. Thank you AJ for being so kind and attentive. You made our trip memorable.

Somewhat disappointing

By Diana T |

The falls are nice, the are is clean, and the trails are well marked and maintained. The bathrooms were filthy - when you pay $17 a person to visit a park that should be free, at least clean the bathrooms. Plenty of signs about mask wearing, but it was so crowded that social distancing was impostor the popular trails.

amazing adventure

By Jennifer Garcia |

we went to a weekend getaway - went on this hike. it was amazing. relaxing to spend some time in nature. we finish the trail in about 2 hours.

Highly organized nature

By ParisOrNewYorkOrVT |

Good for families with children 6-14. Or someone who wants to take a 2 hour hike. The falls themselves aren’t too impressive. Multiple path opportunities. The long hike ends up being very natural, and the short path is all man made with railings and steps.

Stay away if you have knee issues, or issues with steps.

Good bathrooms

Lots of parking.

It is probably way overcrowded in summer, based on the large parking areas, relative to the actual path width

Beautiful Hike

By Sylvia K |

My family, two adults and a nine year old, visited Bushkill Falls. When we arrived, we were warned that due to the drought, the Falls were not running like they are in most photos. We chose to go in and do the hike anyway. The entire area was beautiful. We did the Red Trail, which was labeled as the longest/most difficult and recommended for serious hikers only. Our nine year old had no trouble navigating it. There was lots of climbing and rocks, which he loved. We arrived right at 9:00, when they opened. It took a little over two hours to do the hike and look around a little bit. When we left at 11:30, the place was mobbed. I recommend going early, when it is cooler out and not so crowded.

Great place to hike!!

By nancy p |

Go earlier in the day, all the shops and eateries close at 4pm. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes, they may get a little muddy depending on the weather

Stunning!

By Christina E |

Stunning views of the falls. We went on a rainy day and it was just magical. Such a beautiful thing to do with family and children. The forest is breath taking. I highly recommend going.

Prepare to walk and climb

By LWarmwater |

My wife and I are 60+. Went with my son (26). Haven't been here since he was a scout. I mention the age because we are not athletic, but we like to hike at places we visit.

Usually, our hikes are flat or have a slight gradual up or down. We weren't prepared for the climbing of steps and the major hiking area where there isn't a true path.

This is not a knock on the place. Just a note for those to be ready for a workout. We completed the full loop (with rest sips along the way).

Very pretty, nice views of the waterfalls.

I've read other reviews and sometimes I think people complain just for the sake of complaining. We traveled during the time of COVID. We didn't have a problem with people, masks or not, spacing, etc. We also pre-purchased our tickets so we went right to the entry point.

No one was rude about mask wearing. I might have heard one person reminded to wear one in the store, but that's about it.

We enjoyed our time and would visit again.

Overpriced & over hyped

Bushkill falls is marketed as the Niagara of Pennsylvania and it’s just marketing. The waterfalls are neither as spectacular nor as huge. And water was greenish & not clear when we went. In terms of the “hiking”, expect to walk on wooden walkways with lots of steps. It’s not exactly hiking. And for mid-November, it was extremely crowded. The paths are narrow and it’s hard for two way traffic to fit. The map they give you at entrance is not to scale. Some markers appear far, but are very close. Others appear near, but are far. There are very few sections of the woods which don’t have wooden walkways, which are nice. Outside the paid area, they have many benches for picnics, small playground for children.

It’s very expensive, costs $16.50/adult and $8.50/child. And for the price, I expect full use of all the paths and better maintenance. Sections of one trail/wooden walkway were closed for repairs. And for the price, I expect to see spectacular waterfalls, not “meh” waterfalls. I wouldn’t recommend driving from far for these waterfalls.

A trail to take

By Ramachandran V |

If you are interested in hikes and walking and experiencing nature at its best this is the place to go. The water fall is amazing and take the red trail. It is the longest but the best around 2 hours and with children it would take 2.5 hours but every minute is worth it. The winding trail getting in tune with nature hearing the rumbling of the brook as you walk along the trail it is an experience to behold

Beautiful but ruined by crowds and price

By Sara C |

It cost us $18/pp to get in which I thought was crazy. The falls and nature were astoundingly beautiful, but it was so crowded. There was litter around the main waterfall. We had to wear our masks for the entire hike to even enter. This would be a five star spot if it weren’t for the overcrowding of it.

$20 to see a waterfall???

By Karen |

Drove almost an hour to find out I had to pay $20/person to take a walk and see a waterfall. Super ridiculous in my opinion. We went to Raymondskill Falls instead and saw waterfalls for free… what a concept! Save your money and go to a different trail/waterfall.

We love the Falls

By Scenic368319 |

So peaceful and relaxing yet active. 3 separate levels of hiking ability. Well marked trails. Scenic overlooks. It’s privately owned so there is an admission fee. Lose your stress by a waterfall.

Overpriced

By Letin |

My family and I love hiking and thought this would be great to do. It is nice. The views are very nice but $17 per person, is very expensive. The trails are not like the real trails in the delaware state park, which is free. The mini golf is run down. The ticket seller was not the friendliest person.
We wont be going back. It's unfortunate that they charge so much.

Beautiful

By rottnsq |

Very beautiful. Many different trails for varying skill levels. Definitely need proper shoes. Thought the price was a little high & they charge for a paper map but there are maps throughout the trails. It’s not even close to Niagara Falls but still beautiful. Really enjoyed being able to see the falls from different levels.

terrible and wasnt worth it

By kazi h |

wasnt worth for the money. $22 for small falls and so dirty sidewalks wasn't worth it. not enough parking available and only two tickets counter was open . no food or drink allowed while you can buy pretzels for $ 4 and ice cream for $ 6. I don't think we will ever go back again.

Family Day Trip

By sloank877 |

Took our 2 year old and 5 year old for a day trip to the falls. It was great! Railings and boardwalk style trails and steps all over kept our 2 year old safe. Well maintained trail system with beautiful views. Had ice cream after and enjoyed the lake side playground. Also, the onsite Native American exhibit was beautifully done and attached store had a nice variety of things to look at.

Less Than Welcoming Or Caring

By IIbeach1 |

This attraction gives the impression that it's stuck in the 1950's in terms of the updating of buildings and displays. We visited on a very quiet, hot and humid day in September. We couldn't stay in the building that tells the history of Bushkill Falls due to the overwhelming smell of mold. The stuffed animals at the trail entry have likely been on display for 50 years or more. The young man at the ticket gate was very friendly and helpful. The trails here are not complicated but neither are they well marked. We covered most of the river and all of the falls and were headed back to the main building when my companion began to feel faint and overheated. We slowly continued on to the main building where the gift shop and food & drinks are. There we asked for some ice at the snack bar to help my companion cool down. The man there refused. There were exactly 5 customers in the whole building. We had already bought cold drinks. I don't think that we were making an unreasonable request, even offering to pay for the ice. A cup of ice for a customer who isn't feeling well??? It's time this place stopped viewing people as just ticket purchasers and instead see them as customers upon whom their business depends. They can start with the mold-ridden building and the thoughtless employee at the snack bar.

Awesome!

By Diehl |

I am 11 year old, and for me the trail was great. I did the red trail with my mom and dad. It was clean and fun to do. The stairs were also nice, and I loved how there were lookouts to see the waterfalls.

Great Views, Well maintained access

By MEtoFL |

This is a very well maintained roadside attraction, the setup brings great memories of places like this when I was a kid. Unlike many from this error it is still well maintained and an excellent value for today. There are many free falls in the area but when you see the large wooden walkways and steps you can see it is very costly to maintain and this is a great value. There is something for all ages as well as different paths depending on your ability. Well worth your time and entrance fee.

Beautiful but......

By Souixs |

Beautiful place but beware--- anyone with physical limitations will most likely find it extremely difficult to climb to see the falls

Over hype

By 1happycamper57 |

Overhyped ,Niagara of Pennsylvania, give me a break!! I could live with maybe a $5 entrance fee but 20 bucks, $3.50 for a 25 cent bottle of water. I guess free enterprise at its best !!do yourself a favor. Skip this and go into the national park

First anniversary Getaway

By Paul R |

The weather the day we went to the falls was great. Falls were wonderful, as well as the dirt and rock trails at the top of the falls. We would suggest you to take the Red Trail. This way you will hit all wonderful 8 water falls.

Very well maintained

By Terri L |

Be prepared to climb many, many steps...lol. The cleanliness of the park was impressive. Also pet friendly :)

Great hikes in a unique setting

By Mark E |

I wasn't sure what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. The hike along the stream and multiple waterfalls was gorgeous. The setting is truly picturesque. There are a few different hikes the long one being a bit over two miles, however it is over rough ground and involves a ton of steps so it is not an easy two miles, but well worth the effort if you don't have physical challenges.

I visited on a week day and once schools had started and it was a great time to go. Crowds were minimal. I imagine this place can get a bit crazy during the high season.

The park is privately owned which also surprised me and the admission fee was initially off putting to me. But when I got inside the park and saw the extensive network of well maintained wooden stairs and railings it seemed reasonable to me, which are absolutely necessary to make it accessible to the masses given the terrain and how steep the climbs are.

The time invested and admission fee was well worth it, but consider visiting at an off time when it is likely to be less crowded.

You have a lot to see

By vasile123 |

This park offers spectacular views of several waterfalls. You will have to go up and down stairs a lot ( I'm grateful for those; we would not have been able to climb those steep stone walls without them).
A few updated observations:
The red trail is "broken" so you will not be able to loop. You have to go some way and then come back the way you came. It is a little harder as there are many steps but depending on your fitness level, very enjoyable.
We went on a Wednesday and I still found it somewhat crowded. People were wearing masks and courteously waiting for each group to take their turn for pictures in the most photogenic spots. I've read that on weekends it's very crowded so if you can, come on a weekday.

Beautiful waterfalls and hike

By John C |

The hike to see the waterfalls was beautiful. Great place to make memories with family and friends. There is a gift shop and a snack bar.

Wonderful waterfalls

By MosiDowntheRoad |

This set of hiking trails is privately owned and charges admission. There are several trails, much of it with boardwalks and steps. Trails are well maintained. The falls are lovely. The trails are well maintained but could be more clearly blazed. Lots of dogs. Lots of people on the main (easiest) trail. But much quieter on the other trails.

Waterfall fun

By Josh R |

Had an amazing time seeing the waterfall. It is something to see if you are ever in the area. You are not able to bring a stroller in due to all the stairs. I would say also if you’re child is 3 or under get ready to carry them.

Great hiking place in Poconos.

By TangoNY |

This must be the best “civilized” hiking that we have done with the family. The area is well designed with lots of parking, gift shops, etc. It is very popular especially on weekends.
The pathways are several and they all well marked. So no one is getting lost here! Lol.
We have chosen a Blue Path and it took us about 1 hour and 15 minutes to go around it. We saw two large waterfalls.
The main and the biggest waterfall is on the red pathway and it takes 2-2.5 hours to cover.
We recommend one comes here no later than 2pm is there want to see the main and the biggest waterfall. Enjoy!

Nice view of falls and good trails

By Enterprise_J |

Overall my friend and I had a nice trip at Bushkill. We did the longest trail, the red trail and took us about 3 hours to complete the entire loop. that's with stopping a few times to look at the falls and scenery. The trails were easy to navigate without any extra hiking gear. I recommend a good pair of trail shoes or hiking boots. You could get by with regular running/tennis shoes but some areas are slick so the more traction you have the better. The red trail is a little over 2 miles and you will climb up and down many flights of steps so don't let the short distance fool you. The trails are marked fairly well and kept us on track. Would like to see better signs or clearer directions. Got a bit confusing near the end. Also I suggest that some of their single steps be marked with a yellow or bright colored paint to indicate sudden drops or inclines. I must have tripped a couple times and watched others trip over steps as well. The falls are nice and pretty much what you see on the web site. I haven't been to many parks in PA so don't really have anything to compare them too. For the price of $18 pp I thought was a little high since most State Parks only charge a small fee to enter but I can see that these trails must need a lot of maintenance and upkeep and it is privately owned. Since we went during Covid, masks are required the entire time you are on the trail and for the most part people were abiding by the rules. I'm 50 and not in the best shape and had no issues breathing w the mask on. We went on a Saturday so the park was pretty crowded. Get there early so you can beat the heavy crowds. It was packed by the time we left. The web site mentioned a food stand but we only saw a place that sold ice cream and fudge. Not sure if the food shack was closed or we just missed it.

Overall we had a great time and I would recommend checking this place out if you want to see some nice falls and enjoy nature.

Tour between waterfalls

By Juan A. López |

It is a private, paid area (22 USD), but worth it. There are several circuits, of different length, all by very comfortable and safe wooden walkways. The longest circuit (red) has stretches of stony trail, and a total of 4vKm, but it is worth it.
There is a very spacious parking, bar/restaurant, services, picnic areas, etc.
The waterfalls are spectacular.
It's good to get up early so you have fewer people.
Tickets can be purchased online l at the box office.

Nice but pricey!

By GinaDe1234 |

I gave it a three star not because it wasn’t beautiful or I didn’t enjoy the hike. It was actually quite pleasant and enjoyable. I gave it a three star because I thought it was overly expensive it cost $19 each and we only did the green walk which was only about 30 minutes. That’s a lot of money. I don’t think they should even charge to do a hike through a park and see a waterfall , if anything, it should be a very minimal amount.

Beautiful and accessible waterfalls

By Mike Chris H |

Was here this past Monday, relatively early so we beat we beat the crowds. We are both hikers, so appreciated the natural trail areas. That being said, the boardwalks and numerous stairs keep the trails free of erosion, otherwise the waterfalls would not be safely accessible. Easy to see why they have a fairly high admission charge as mantenance costs must be tremendous. Only disappointmentwas seeing so much litter left by inconsiderate visitors.

Definitely bring a camera and wear comfortable, practical no-slip footware.

Bushkill Falls

By Rachel Fasulo |

My husband and I loved this hike! We took the red trail which walks you through viewing spots for 8 waterfalls. The trail is mostly quiet and the sounds of running water and waterfalls is so so peaceful. We took a lot of beautiful photos and it made our trip to the Poconos so much fun.

Beautiful

By danfrn |

Well maintained trails and walkways with a beautiful waterfall. Heads up: there is an admission fee.

Good

By Fern |

The falls are beautiful. The trails are well kept. Some of the railings are flimsy so don’t lean on them. The staff certainly were not very helpful or friendly. The people selling food and merchandise were very nice though. I thought it was strange after paying a good bit for admission that we had to pay 3.00 for a map.But if you love nature like I do it was still worth it for the beauty of the falls.

Never again.

By Nope |

We paid $70 for 2 adults and 2 children. And I'm not sure for what the hike is way more intense than they say And the waterfall is nothing like niagara falls. Even on the easy yellow trail, it wss very exhausting. The waterfall is okay It's pretty, but within an hour radius, there are much larger much more exciting waterfalls that can be enjoyed for very, very cheap or even many are free. In the gorge, there is no cell phone service and no staff. If there were to be an emergency, it could quickly turn tragic as there is no easy way out and as I said, no staff and no cell phone service. I do not recommend this place. And I will not go back. If you're looking for an intense hike with a nice view. Sure, but not for $70.

Beautiful $$$cenery

By Greg187 |

Beautiful falls and very well-maintained trails. Friendly staff and lots of picnic tables to enjoy a packed lunch.

Sorta glad we did it but hard to justify $54 for a family of four. Especially since we have younger kids who weren’t up for the longest trail. So...roughly $1 a minute.

This is a for-profit family business which I respect. But I’d feel much better about the expense if it were a non-profit conservation organization.

Beautiful, but ridiculously overpriced.

By Email4LA |

Bushkill falls was a lovely place to bring the family, we hiked around for about 2 hours. But the pricing for a family is ridiculous. Adults should be no more than $10 tops, and children 13 and under $5
Maybe implement a family rate of $25- $30.
Also I was asked if I wanted a map, I said yes and then realized that I was charged $3 for a piece of paper LOL :)
Yes,charge for the extras- mini golf, mining, make money off souvenirs and the cafe...but entrance fees to see the falls should be within reason especially considering that Resica Falls, the beautiful Dingmans Falls, Silverthread falls, and the gorgeous Raymondskill Falls are all Free.
I understand that maintaining this beautiful location requires money, but these prices are overkill, and may keep some families away from enjoying this beautiful location.
Such a great place to visit, but definitely not worth the almost $60 that we paid for a family of 4 for less than 2 hours.
Beauty I give it a 5
Price/Value I give it a 1
So overall an Average place to visit.
If I had paid $25 for our family would have highly recommend it, but just not sure it was worth almost $60.
**We went on a Monday, so it was not that crowded and prices are a little less expensive than the weekend prices. I definitely would not recommend going on a weekend.

Definitely check it out if in the area.

By 1RaiderFan |

First things first, this a really cool sight and you should definitely check it out if in the area. We took the red trail and it took us a little under two hours. I would advise you that if you are going to take that trail, definitely wear sturdy footwear. Lots of opportunities to take cool pictures when seeing the different waterfalls. Water was a bit high so far this summer, so the falls, especially the Maine falls, were really cool to check out. Only complaint- I thought they charge too much for entrance! If you have time, check out the small cabin that has the history of the falls. Pretty cool to read some of those old clippings in the memorabilia.

Hiking and Waterfalls

By WinL2011 |

Stopped here on the way back to NY for a hike and seeing waterfalls at the same time. Heard about this place and wanted to come see. Overall nice place to come to go hiking - there are 4 trails to choose from and able to see waterfalls while you hike. Bring water with you.

Admission is $16.50 for adults - make sure you get your hand stamped if you plan to go in/out the same day, otherwise no re-admission. Make sure to use the restroom before you start your hike and bring water (you will need it). Came in the afternoon and wasn't planning to stay too long. Make sure to wear sneakers or hiking shoes.

Cell service is very weak to none, so make sure you stay on the path you choose. There are 4 trails so make sure to follow the markers to stay on track. Green and yellow are the easiest trails and you will see the Main Falls. We did the yellow which takes about 45 minutes. Blue and red are the harder trails and steeper and longer...to get to Bridal Veil Falls and the other falls.

Take your time and take pictures of the waterfalls as you go.
Definitely will go back to try the blue or red..

Worth a visit

By wjs777 |

With many "free" waterfalls around I was not sure if it would be worth the $18 entry fee, but it was definitely worth a visit. It is called the "Niagara of PA", which is quite a stretch, but it is very impressive. They have quite an extensive trail/walkway system which makes it easy to get around. However be aware you do have to navigate quite a bit of stairs if that is an issue for you. We went on a Saturday in the heart of leaf season and we were concerned about parking...We arrived around 10:00am and had no issues finding a spot. It looks like they recently added a large additional lot. however around noon it got very busy and parking was more challenging to find. I am guessing the trail got pretty full as well. It is definitely worth a visit, despite the price.

Overpriced and not worth the stop

By Lynda C |

Coming from New England, where we have higher mountains and waterfalls, this was overpriced and disappointing (this was not due to the drought either), and it was buggy.

Great red trail hike

By Theresa r |

We were visiting the Poconos and this was our first choice of places to visit. We chose the Red trail because it covers all 8 of the waterfalls. We are avid hikers and love to explore new places, With that said their are a lot of steps. Red trail is not good for strollers or wheel chairs. Mostly wood decking paths and up and down stairs and in some places there were just a rock and gravel paths up and down hills. Photo bonus we saw a small snake hanging out on a branch in the water so beware! This place it Beautiful to say the least. The Red trail will take about 3 hrs +. Bring your camera I took so many pictures. Also a MUST is comfortable shoes. We wore our hiking shoes and were just fine. Once your by the entrance there is a variety of activities for the kids. (Extra cost.) There is a snack bar and souvenir shop. I hope this review helped as did the ones I read.

Natural beauty but little social distancing or COVID protocol following in the trails

By ab1324 |

We arrived at around 12pm on Saturday. We read online and called in advance since most places you need reservations for now and they indicated it was best to purchase tickets online(we did) and that they were following a 75% capacity protocol. Could have fooled me judging by the very large crowds. Also just a heads up the Wi-fi here is horrendous so it is much better to print tickets. It took us over 10 minutes to pull up the online tickets on our phones. The staff is heard continually screaming to guests "put your masks over your nose", masks on, etc. but once we were on the trails very few people (especially a group of those from outside the country who I heard nearby talking in a clear language other than English ) were following this. One brazen lady part of this group tried to walk in unmasked was chastised but the moment she got in took her mask off. We saw her MULTIPLE times throughout the trail and not once did she have one on. I am not sure why people are still not taking this serious. I understand it gets hot and we did pull ours up a few times when others were not around to catch a breath and when we were all alone as an immediate family off to a side-but never around other patrons like this lady and so many others I witnessed. You have several routes to choose and we took one of the longer more arduous ones. When it says for "experienced hikers"-believe it-there is a lot of stairs, rocks, steepness and if you are not prepared or wearing proper shoes you will not enjoy it. We had little ones with us and it can get tiring. Bring water, your camera and enjoy it because it is beautiful but if you are overly COVID paranoid do not expect to be able to really distance here. There are many passage ways where you are neck in neck with others. Most people try and followed the rules but you had more who did not.

Beautiful Scenery

By MommaHuff4 |

This was my second time visiting Bushkill Falls. First time was just me and hubby, this time with both teen kids. It's a beautiful place to visit and doesn't take up your whole day. We hiked the red trail and only took us two hours. WARNING: There are lots of stairs! I am not a fit person and a bit overweight, but I do walk on a daily basis. I believe had I been a larger person and/or did not get some form of exercise on a daily basis, I could not have done all those stairs!

COVID-19 worriers beware!

By DEP3 |

Pretty but poses Covid -19 danger- maskless menaces in spite of posted rules for visitors. Definitely beautiful if you are in the area, but get ready for a hefty per person entrance fee at this privately owned wooded expanse with boardwalks, waterfalls and beautiful vistas. Lovely for hiking , but not so lovely if you are trying to be careful about not getting covid.Signs everywhere indicate that masks must be worn, but not everyone follows this rule, and some resisters can be pretty rude and aggressive when you ask them to put on a mask..it can be pretty scary when there is a congested spot along your hike. We took the red trail and periodically there were maps posted ( with admission you get a paper brochure map, but map doesn’t appear to be drawn to scale, so the estimated time for hiking a trail is not that useful, since you probably will want to stop, letting your kids splash in the water, etc). Parking lot area has food and other shops as well
as bathrooms, but once inside the park, there are none.
If you feel you must go to Bushkill Falls in the summer, try going during the week instead of crowded weekends, particularly during Covid pandemic. If you do a bit of research, however, you will most likely find a less crowded place that also has waterfalls.
Bottom line: it’s pretty, but beware if you are risk averse when it comes to Covid.

rip off

By Chip B |

Family of 5 to walk the trail - $74.50. Bag of M&M's - $2.75. Small/regular-size bag of sand for kid's mining - $12.

Overpriced? Check. Crowded? Check. Tour busses? Check. Underwhelming water fall? Again, check.

We left this place with a feeling of disappointment and the sense that our pockets had been all but turned inside out.

It's privately owned - not a state or national park, and it shows.

Amazing

By darlenejay |

This is worth the price. Did the yellow trail with a 7 and 8 year old, which was perfect length. Waterfalls are amazing, definitely worth the stop.

Great Day Trip

By BaseballMom271 |

We took a 2-1/2 hour drive to see Bushkill Falls today. It was absolutely beautiful. It definitely is worth seeing at least once. Here are my recommendations:

1. Buy tickets online! The falls opened at 10 am and we got there around 11:30 am. Our jaws dropped when we pulled in. There were so many people. We had to park in the very last spot in the parking lot which is at capacity. The lone looked easily 2 hours long to wait in. Since we purchased tickets online, we were able to skip right past the line. I recommend printing them since there is hardly any service to bring them up on your phone.

2. We went on a Saturday, they are open until 7. If you can, go after 12. When we came out, the parking lot was only half full.

3. Be prepared to walk up and down a lot of steps! We took the red and blue trails. Rough terrain (uneven ground, rocks, etc.) We we’re exhausted from all the steps. We felt bad for all of the older people and parents with small children. There are easier trails though that we did not walk.

4. There were a lot of people with dogs. I thought it was to crowded and to much terrain to bring your dog especially on a hot day. Especially the little dogs, people had to carry them.

5. There is only a bathroom on the outside! Go before!

6. You can bring food/drink. But the red/blue trail took us about 2 hours. A drink would only be necessary. There is a place to buy some food by the gift store when you get out.

I hope this helps! Enjoy your day!

Fun!

By antoinette l |

The falls were beautiful but there is a awful lot of walking. And photo opportunity
U say just be a person that likes to walk or is in good shape.

Nice trip, as long as it's not too crowded.

By New Y |

Beautiful views, only slightly overrated. Good options for different hiking needs. Lots and lots of stairs - you walk only on stairs and wooden walkways the entire time, not hiking on natural ground. We enjoyed spending this time enjoying nature as a family.

Wonderful Nature Experience

By FenniEnn |

This is a really great outdoor attraction and definitely a workout! I love how there are stairs built throughout the falls and the park. The fee is worth it to keep the park clean and accessible. You must wear great shoes and walk slowly to the top of the falls. We missed the fall foliage by a couple of weeks but we still got great views at the top of the views. Would love to return in the Spring!

Nice hike, beautiful views and fun time

By Wallace L |

Great visit, hike and beautiful area. We went on a Wednesday when the admission price is less. We did the longest route and glad we did. We stopped at their "candy and ice cream" building and had a scoop or two lol. Plus visited their trading post and viewed their exhibit on the Lenape Indians.

Nice hiking trails.

By djanfox |

Well laid out and nicely maintained trail system with plenty of viewing platforms to see the falls. Green and yellow marked trails are moderately hard especially if you can’t do steps. Thought the $16.00 ticket price was a little steep.

Bushkill Falls / East Stroudsburg

if your going to Bushkill falls, make sure you bring proper footwear and
be prepared for lots of steps.

As far as food goes, The Warehouse is good, as is Top of the World Restaurant and Alaska Petes was good. Not so much Mullers diner or Petrizzo's Italian.

It's hiking

By Mr Robbs |

I don't know, what do you say about a hiking trail. It is a great place for hikers to hike in the pocono's

Beautiful and interesting for all ages

By Browncow |

We were a group of many ages and it was a great experience for all! Beautiful trails that are easy to navigate. Just beware the many steps.

Beautiful falls but crowded and $$

By hiimmels |

Beautiful falls and well-maintained path. But... it's $18 per person to get in, and crowded like you wouldn't believe. This is not somewhere to go if you're concerned about social distancing! We were back-to-back with other visitors on what seemed like never-ending porch stairs. It was challenging to stop and admire our surroundings because people were scrambling to get by--and you're stuck on a gated path.

A Must See When Visiting the Poconos

By Brendab |

Nicely laid man made wooden trail. Several choices available depending on the time you have and the difficulty level you prefer. The trails range from 45 min to 2 1/2 hours. Based on a leisurely pace. We completed the 45 min trail in 20 min.
The falls are beautiful and the surroundings serene. Coming during the summer would provide the full offering of the area.

Sneakers recommended

By Chris H |

Firstly, I don't know why people had on sandals and flip-flops this is a sneakers type of activity. I don't recommend small children doing this. The trails are predominantly stairs, I got a serious workout. I had fun with my family and it was a monumental achievement.

Great hike

By Don B |

The stairs look daunting but really were not difficult for us old fogeys. The $14 charge was more than expected but we did not feel cheated. We went on a weekday and not many people there, but a few.

Incredible views

By Nancy H |

This was not particularly challenging as we didn't do the Red Trail. Take your time with the steps coming up. The views are incredible. Our family of 5 adults loved this! We did go early so we did not encounter many people during our time there. The park is so well maintained!

Beautiful and stunning!

By Genevieve R |

Visited on 5/09/2021: Absolutely worth the visit. Go early to be alone with nature and have the place to yourself. Clean, beautiful, and well maintained. I recommend the Red path which is more adventurous and challenging. There are plenty resting places and even a Zen Rock garden to enjoy.

Nice escape from the city

By exmarsa |

We needed a break from what NYC has become post covid and decided to come here. It’s a nice park with several waterfalls: the main falls, which are impressive, and some smaller ones which are attractive. Buy and PRINT your tickets in advance so that you can bypass the line and walk straight in. Don’t expect to be able to download the tickets to your phone because the wifi here isn’t the greatest and you will have to go back out to find a spot with adequate reception. There are several trails varying in length. If you want to see most of the falls, take the red trail. It’s the longest, but well worth the extra effort. Parts of the trail are on boardwalks, others on easy to navigate dirt and yet others over rocks and roots. Overall I would rate it as moderate difficulty, but doable by anyone in decent shape. Be prepared for LOTS of stairs; my phone said we did the equivalent of climbing 28 floors! The parking lots were quite full, but the place didn’t feel overly crowded on a Monday around mid day. People of course bunch up where the falls can be viewed, but most were respectful and took turns taking pictures. As many have said, there are areas where it is impossible to social distance, especially on the stairs, but the majority of folks complied with the mask requirements. Sadly, there is trash here and there. How hard is it to take your empty plastic water bottles and your masks out with you? The gift shops are OK with the usual trinkets and the bathrooms basically clean. Note that once you are in past the turnstiles there are no bathrooms. Finally there is a nice area with picnic tables next to entrance road which was peaceful, shady and uncrowded. All in all, worth the entrance fee and effort. A nice escape from the dreary city.

Beautiful! Highly recommended.

By stephen p |

Beautiful. Be prepared for lots of steps.
I think it was worth the entry price. We really enjoyed this.
We came after a heavy rain so, parts of the trail had standing water. Wear good hiking boots. All of the boardwalks were very well maintained. Lots of new lumber installed recently. Incredible water falls. We had no issues with slippery spots and walked most of the trails.

Unbelievable a bucket list must do

This is a must see place. Week maintained and more beautiful with each step. You get lost in the quiet. Go on weekdays less crowded

Great family hike!

By Jay |

A must visit if you’re heading to the Poconos. Took 3 kids (8-10) on the red trail. Very well maintained and safe trails for all ages. Waterfalls are spectacular and highly recommend. Took us about hour and half to do the loop.

Great waterfalls with choice of four trails

By Cynthia F |

Loved how close the waterfalls are to the parking lot. Loved the rainbow created by the falls.

Chose the 45-minute yellow trail. Handrails everywhere along the trail. This trail is mostly staircases up and down.

Would love to return some day to do the 2.5 hour red trail.

Beautiful waterfall and nice hiking trail

By Jolina E |

Pretty good and free parking
Of course need to buy a ticket to visit waterfall
Have very nice hiking Trail but if you are not up for hiking you can directly visit the view of beautiful waterfall

Great time with family

By S P |

Was an amazing experience, awesome clean trail!
Stopped at the candy/ice cream store on the way out and the associate Lynn was a doll. So nice and accommodating. She even took the time to snap a quick picture of my family and I. Overall great experience.

Historical and pretty but aerobic

By Spw91 |

First time back in 20 years roughly. Still family owned I think, and a good example of private attraction. Anyone who thinks the price is too high go walking and try to see waterfalls without the extensive wooden stairs and trails. I can’t imagine how they keep all of them safe. My in-laws went there as teenagers in the 1940’s
The falls are great and though it’s easy to get confused there are options on the length you want to walk. It’s not really hiking it mostly stairs and walking. Roughly 11 stories of stairs if you can believe my phone.

Not worth it!

By summer0708 |

You want to see nice falls without paying $16.50, go to Ricketts Glenn, much nicer. This place is a tourist trap, too many people and parking was terrible. Staff is rude too.

Nice hike and scenery.

By Herbert B |

Definitely worthwhile seeing. We did the complete loop but one can see the main falls without doing the entire trail. Much of the trail has a wooden walkway but some rocks and many roots too. Went this week to see the fall colors. Leaves should be at their peak in about a week.

Expensive, but beautiful.

By Belinda M |

The place was packed!! The price was steep....$19 per senior on a weekend. I think a per vehicle price is more appropriate. You could go broke taking a family here. Price doesn't even include a map! Overall, it was beautiful, but expensive. Definitely worked up a sweat on a hot day climbing up all the steep stairs!

Beautiful place

By Gregory B |

The place is very nice, well kept and of course beautiful. Highly recommend.

The only negative thing I experienced was a very rude female employee working in the Sugar Mountain Sweet Shop. The other employees were working and nice but this girl needs training or be replaced. Very disrespectful. I should have gotten her name but she’s not worth my time.

Crowded

By DENNIS B |

Went on 7-6-2019 and it was very crowded making the experience less enjoyable. Felt like I was at a amusement park. I hiked the red trail, which took about 1hr 45 min. The falls were nice and the tallest is where most people hung out. I thought it was a bit expensive bring your own food , shoes, ponchos etc. to save money.

Wonderful walk

By NorthBayVisitor |

Very well maintained and worth the entrance price. Excellent, sturdy wooden steps and areas to view the falls. Did the blue trail and it was a perfect amount of walking for someone in so-so shape!! Had ice cream at the end and it was excellent. Sat out on the picnic tables situated in a nice area and not crowded together.

Eat Your Wheaties for a Full Experience!!!

By Teresa J |

Great experience. The facility was very clean and organized (except for the restrooms). There were lots of stairs, but well worth it. The views were amazing. I wish I had the stamina to see more falls than that main one, but the trails to the other falls were for avid hikers (not couch potatoes on vacation like me).

Worth the Detour!

By outdoorsisbest_11 |

We took our three granddaughters here as part of a three-day visit to the Poconos. This was the highlight! We enjoyed climbing down (and even up) the many stairs and taking photos of the falls (and selfies) on the platforms. Yeah, it's not Niagara, but you can't get more picturesque waterfalls within a hundred mile radius.

Walk among the plastic

By Zhana_T |

Parking is a real nightmare here. The entrance fee is steep. The place has litter everywhere. Do not visit.

Great hike but so much trash on the trail.

By CaptainLarsP |

Nice hike for the family.

Please take your trash with you. Why are people so awful with their trash?

Good day time event for family hiking.

It's too bad that people leave so much trash behind.

They should give free admittance if you carry out one bag of trash.

Good experience long walks between falls!

By Jay A |

Overall good experience. We saw all 8 waterfalls but it’s a long walk. Before I went I thought they were all close to each other but it’s quite the opposite. You will definitely get your steps in for the day as a lot of up and down. Not good for old or really young as they will tire. I saw a lot of older people and felt bad for them. They did not like it. I liked it overall the thing about to me is for 15 pp you can do free waterfalls in the area. I say skip it unless you are young fit and in for a hike as just to see one/two falls not worth the money but if you see all 8 or close to all of them I think it’s worth it. For me and my child I had to carry him in my arms a lot since he got tired and then it’s double the work. Not stroller or wheelchair friendly and maybe not possible but then it’s not worth 15 to see one two falls. I like the gorge the best and it was real close up beautiful nature.

You won't need a stairmaster workout after visiting.

By calm_weather |

Bushkill Falls is impressive. The trail is almost completely boardwalk, not much walking on dirt or roots. But there is a lot of walking on stairs. There is A TON of stairs to get to the top of the falls, where all of the trails go (except the Green Trail)

We took the Yellow Trail because it wasn't real short (like the Green) and it wasn't terribly long. I didn't count the stair steps, but there had to be at least 1800 counting going up and coming down - and I may be underestimating. If you have someone who has a little difficulty walking or can't tolerate A LOT of stairs, this isn't for them - at all. We were there on a Tuesday and most of the people were older than millennials. At the end, most of them were offering prayers that the end was reached. If you're a regular trailblazing hiker, I'm sure it's all good.

Bushkill is also the only falls that charges an admission fee. Further up Federal Road are Dingmas Falls, Silver Thread Falls, and Raymondskill Falls that are each driveable to a parking area with a shorter and easier walk to the falls and no admission fee - all free. All three of those are, in some way, a little more impressive than Bushkill.

1st time, beautiful

By Judy D |

First time here and it is incredibly beautiful. We did the yellow and blue trails. Shout out to Marcus, who was at the ticket counter, and his recommendation of which trails to take. He was very thorough and really friendly. You could tell he loves his job and helping others enjoy the beautiful falls.

Gorgeous

By zeldas756 |

Can get crowded so book in advance and go early. Lovely views, very nice hike. Great for kids and adults.

Wife Birthday Getaway with Family

By WAYNPEA |

What a great place. There is a lot to see and beautiful scenery. We loved the wooden pathways and stairways. Made it so nice getting around. My wife and I are in our 60's and it gave us a good workout. I needed it!! Anyhow, everyone along with way was very nice and even during covid we all kept our distancing and our masks on. We took little breaks along the way and to just try to take everything in. Took plenty of pictures too. Take your good walking shoes and enjoy!!

Great for everyone!

By Gina W |

Great place to kill (pun intended) a couple of hours. The trails are clearly marked. The red trail can get steep at times and there are a ton of stairs so be ready to huff and puff if you are out of shape or have small children. There are other, easier trails. The place is well kept aside from the occasional trash you see from litterbugs. The fudge is great. The other attractions were closed as far as we knew. Even on a day with scattered rain showers, it was nice.

Nice long walk with challenge

By SolaimanMH |

The Admission is 14.5 $ week days and 16.50 $ week ends. Has 4 trails with ranging from 15 min. to 2:30 hrs. The views are amazing, the nature is untouched with multiple fallen trees, and many nice vegitations. There are 2 major falls and about 6 smaller one. There is foos, souveneer store, and clean restrooms. It is suitable for all ages. I think the admission price is excessive.

nature, beautiful and entertaining

By DelightedTrippers |

An amazing place of clever bridges and paths - relax and enjoy the scenery!!! We arrived around 10 so it wasn't crowded... might be slippery when wet.

Local beauty! Know your capabilities before choosing your trail.

By Dian C |

Local beauty! I have visited many times and appreciate the beauty each time as if it were the first time viewing.

The park offers several options for hiking/viewing. I advise respecting the warning signs that indicate the paths ahead are steep, rocky, and only for avid hikers (that would be Red trail). Don't attempt unless you are an avid hiker and are wearing sturdy shoes or boots.

Great for serious hikers

By New Yorker |

If you are serious hikers, this would be an amazing spot.
For visitors, I think it’s beautiful but be aware especially for those who have knee issues and small kids as well as with babies, it requires a lot of up and down stairs.
The entry fee costs 20 dollars for age 11 (even elementary schooler!) and up. Younger than that, it costs 10$.

Spend the day on red trail

By bluejeanfood |

This was such a great place to visit. Get here early as the crowds pile in. The red trail was so nice to hike the entire thing to see all 8 waterfalls and the overlook. The map is a little confusing, but after awhile I got used to the way it had you going certain ways. It is some steep steps so wear good shoes. The paddleboats and mini gold only take cash so be aware. My 6 year old son loved the gemstone mining and maze combo also. You can easily spend all day here.

Strategic viewing platforms

By Marc N |

Ample parking. There is a fee for entry with a discount for seniors and military. Even the most popular and easy hikes to the falls have lots of stairs. There is a longer 2 hr addition for the avid hiker. I especially enjoyed that they had viewing platforms set up at strategic points.

Absolutely Beautiful

By Marcia H |

Very beautiful and nicely maintained. I'm a 72 year old and there were a lot of steps on the red trail, but I was able to do the hike and it was worth it. Would definitely do again.

Litter Around the Main Waterfall

By Sean R |

The views here are amazing but around the main water fall there were pieces of litter. I noticed plastic bottles and visitor maps laying around. For the most part, this park is amazing with great views throughout but it can be ruined with trash laying by paths. Bushkill should ban non-reusable bottles or have someone walking around to pick up litter.

Beautiful Walk in the Woods

By Patricia G |

Completely blew my expectations!

What beautiful falls and really well maintained trails.

I did the red trail and got to see so many beautiful falls in addition to the main one. Highly recommend! I'll be back in the spring to see it in bloom.

Lynn is the best!

By Lana J |

Lynn was amazing!! She was so kind and friendly from the minute we walked in and even offered to take our group photo while we waited for our food. Definitely helped make our experience on this hike!

It's Worth It

By Edward D |

Look here. I want to say right off the bat that I do not enjoy paying for admission to view waterfalls created by the Big Guy for all to enjoy. That said: it was worth it! There are nice wooden walkways and stairs that drop down for great views of the falls. Wear hiking boots, if you got them. I also visited and hiked to other "free" falls (e.g. Dingman Falls) in the area, but the access and views were not as incredible.

Beautiful

By mickeyhc |

The views are amazing, but research the trail that you choose. The trails have various levels of difficulty and the red trail is very demanding. Some of the red trail contains very rocky paths with roots. There are also hundreds of stairs. We wore hiking boots and used hiking poles.

Very beautiful walk

By Josh W |

Had a great time walking our two yotkies on the green and yellow paths.
Was super busy and crowded on early afternoon Sunday in June.

Bushkill Falls Visit

By Scenic560816 |

Easy walk with wooden staircases and handrails, visited two days ago with beautiful weather, very relaxing.

Beautiful falls

By Wafia S |

It’s a beautiful place to visit. Kids enjoyed the hike and the view. I visited it in early spring time but summer time would be better to spend more time outdoors.

DONT waste your time!

By Connir divens |

Since we are a traveling business, I thought I’d give a review of my own today.
Do NOT waste your time going to Bushkill Falls in Pennsylvania!!! The entrance fee is $16 pr person to begin with!! (To take a 15 minute walk to the underwhelming falls!).
And secondly, I have NEVER met nastier people than the ticket lady and the manager!! I won’t go into it but believe me THEY WERE NASTY AS COULD BE. Absolutely ruined my day!
Read between the lines and sight see somewhere else!! There are plenty of places to see in the Pocono Mountains!

Very pretty

By Morticia814 |

Beautiful, well maintained grounds.
A few small shops to buy souvenirs, wet your whistle or get a snack. We enjoyed our visit. It was worth the 2 hour trip.

Fabulous Falls

By RuthR655 |

This is completely worth every penny you have to pay! The falls are gorgeous and the walkways are very well kept. It would not be a walk for someone with knee issues. There are plenty of stairs. Wear good hiking shoes & perhaps bring a hiking stick if you are apt to do the longer loop. The most distressing thing for us was seeing the trash left behind by hikers. Often it was in places that would risk the safety of someone trying to remove it. Please carry out your trash. Don't ruin this beautiful place! Thank you!!

Beautiful

By kjkjkj2013 |

Beautiful place to see. Lots of stairs going down and up. Some spots are slippery, There are also hiking trails that run along a creek. Bring bug repellent.

The beauty of nature

By CyndiMoon |

Nice stop in the Pocono area. It was a wet and cloudy day but the beauty of the Bushkill Falls is spectacular. You certainly get your workout for the day as well. I don't recommend if you have leg issues that's for sure.

Wonderful day in the mountains!

By Kim S |

My daughter and I spent the day hiking in Bushkill falls. The trails are beautiful and the waterfalls are spectacular! They also have a nice souvenir shop and a small snack shop. You have to pay an entrance fee but it was well worth it.

There are better places

By srinivasankn |

This place is expensive and workers are kind of rude. You can visit Raymondskill and Digmans Falls nearby for free (few miles from Bushkill) and they are extremely beautiful.

Meh

By Lindsey Pratt |

Nice trails, fairly clean with some litter. $70 entrance fee for four people. No discounts of any kind for military, etc. Recommend going early in the day during the week, was crowded on the weekend. Lots of stairs, did the “long, steep trail” took about an hour, wasn’t too bad. Worth it? Meh.

Beautiful falls, not far from Philly/ New York

By wallyPhila. |

We recently visited Bushkill falls for a nice summer day sight seeing excursion. The fee they charge to view the falls/ enter the park is well worth it, with safe railings, and well built walk ways. The water falls were awesome, and there are multiple paths you can take ranging from fairly easy to advanced hiker.

It is worth noting that there are many flights of stairs. You will want to wear comfortable foot wear and be prepared to get in a lot of walking/ stepping.

After you see the falls, there are gift shops, ice cream stands, gem mining, playground, and a maze. Gem mining and the maze requires additional fees.

Wonderful Waterfall Park

By Akash V |

This is a great place for a day trip (or half-day) as it is a well marked path around several waterfalls. The maps is very helpful and there are four different difficulties of paths to see a variety of falls. We took the long path around the entire area and it took about 1-2 hours as we were taking our time. This place does cost money unlike many other waterfalls in the NY and PA area but since it is marked well, and the path is well made, it is worth the money.

Nice place

By Amazin1 |

This is a great place for all. There are a few different options for hikes you can take all are great just make sure you have comfortable shoes and water.

Beautiful Warterfalls

By Paula P |

The different trails take you to breathtaking views. We took the second longest trail and were exhausted but it's worth the effort.
They have a large picnic area.

Beautiful falls with many trails to explore from short 15 minute one to 3-4 hour ones.

By Halsie |

Definitely worth visiting, Your age, health and time frame will determine which trails you might take. we spent about an hour and saw some beautiful views of the falls. Lots of parking and even miniature golf, snacks and ice cream.

Impressive falls and well organised site.

By Hobby |

Situated about 10 mins off the main road and well sign posted, costs about $20 each per entry, there are a number of various routes available around the falls, we followed the popular yellow track which took about 45 mins with lots of steps up and down but was not difficult, also has a cafe, shop, maze, playground and other lakes.
We stayed about 2 hours which was ample for us but it did look as though people planned to stay for the day.
Would recommend.

Hidden gem!

By Mike W |

Love taking the kids and their cousins here for hikes every summer! The Red Trail will help you hit your 10,000 step goal! Bring water and wear comfortable shoes. Not much wild life to be seen. But the Falls, river and foliage are outstanding! Cell reception can be spotty.

Great for All Ages

By black325 |

Our family of 6 (4 adults, 2 7year olds) thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Bushkill Falls. We took the red route and it was just enough for the young ones as well as me (who walks with a cane). Afterwards we had lunch in the snack bar and perused the various shops and Native American exhibit. Great way to spend a few hours and entertain the kids while camping in the area.

Reconnect with nature

By TravelGirlAK87 |

My mom and I stopped here while we were visiting the Poconos. We did the yellow trail and it was the perfect length/duration. I brought my DSLR camera with me to capture some shots of the falls and foliage. It was a great opportunity to disconnect and take in the scenery.

Not thrilled

By A E |

The park itself is obviously beautiful. I found staff on the day we visited to be quite rude. I also feel that for the amount you pay, you should be able to re-enter the same day. Privatizing nature for profit is wrong in my opinion though.

Toddler, dog and waterfalls!

By Day Trip Mama |

We had a great time!

There’s a fee for admission, $20 per adult. The tickets themselves look like tiny postcards and make a great little souvenir.

They have 4 different color marked trails with estimated times of 15 mins to over 2 hours. All of the trails sort of intertwine and overlap in the main area (you can find the map on their website) and you don’t necessarily have to follow any particular one, they also give you the map with your tickets.

There are a lot of steps, from the top of one waterfall to the bottom of another one, you are definitely in the mountains and although it’s very safe and nicely done with boardwalks and wooden steps and bridges, the only way to go up or down in elevation is to go up and down lots of steps!

They do not allow strollers in (it would be impossible to navigate, between steps and some narrow area where people go in either direction) and they have a stroller check area just outside of the entrance. We knew this ahead of time so we left the stroller in the car and got it afterwards to walk around the shops.

We used a baby carrier for our 27lb toddler and it worked great. I would highly recommend doing so if you want to explore but have a little one. We also talked to a family who said it was too much for their 6 year old.

We also brought our small dog. For some of the steeper steps or the stairs that felt never ending, we picked him up, but he did great everywhere else, and could easily handle the smaller staircases.

I would say if you give yourself extra extra extra time, you can probably bring younger kids that have to walk on their own. If you plan on it taking way longer than the estimated times, there’s no rush and it doesn’t quite feel like such a workout. If you’re trying to go through the trails fast, it’s going to be challenging for anyone!

Bring lots of water per person/dog,and wear comfortable shoes. You can bring snacks in with you, we brought uncrustables, peanut butter pretzels, ham and cheese sliders, etc. There’s a picnic area in the parking lot but they do not allow picnics in the trail area.

Not covid friendly, stoller friendly

By Dipal Shah |

We just been there yesterday. It's nice trails wotyoys of steps but not a good time to go now as no social distancing is maintain. Not a good idea to go there ... You can't even dip yourself in the water so you better choose different fall. There are lot around the area.

Great Place for a hike

By Relax478051 |

Make sure to buy tickets online if possible. There are some great tails but a lot of stairs. If you are going with someone with mobility issues this is not the place for you.

Had a great time !

By Tony S |

Had an awesome time at Bushkill Falls.
It's a bit of a hike, lots of step descending and ascending but well worth it.. beautiful scenery, remember to bring water and stay well hydrated, and carry as little with you as possible. 👍

Seeing the falls, and the change of seasons in Pennsylvania.

By Jay C |

We spent the afternoon at Bushkill Falls. What a beautiful location. There are multiple trails to hike, and they are marked well and they state they are easy to hard. We walked the mid range trails. We got great photos of all the falls and trails. The trees were changing colors and that added to the beauty of the area. We loved spending time at the falls.

Dog-friendly!

By Tara Heagele |

My favorite part of this park is that it is dog-friendly. We took our two border collie puppies on the yellow trail. We had to carry the 3.5 month old down the stairs, but he was having a great time running up the stairs. The 10-month old had no trouble on all the stairs. This was a short hike for us humans, but appropriate for our young puppies. We can't wait to return and do the longer hikes once they are older. The park is stunning and we had a wonderful time!

Nice place to visit off season

By greenheron54 |

We visited Bushkill Falls during the week before Memorial Day. We got there at 9am when they opened. For the first hour we were the only ones there. It was great. There are railings, bridges, and platforms to view the 8 falls. It was beautiful and I will return off season again.

Perfect Way o Start Our Hiking Week

By Bobbi S |

After arriving in East Stroudsburg on a rainy Sunday, Bushkill Falls was the perfect destination to start out our week of nearby hiking. The wooden stairs, boardwalk-y & hardpacked dirt paths were dry enough for us to hike/walk up & around all eight falls. This is not a get away from the madding crowd kind of place as there are lots and lots of people who come through here, families with kids, older adults, and, being that it is on private property, it is pretty pricey ($18 per person, weekends, a dollar or so lower on weekdays, or for seniors), The river has a foamy surface to it & is copper colored from the iron leached out of the soil (not sure why there is foam though) but you will have taken a satisfying, even strenuous walk as you climb & climb (both up and down) to see each of the Falls. Enjoy!

Bushkill Falls

By Julie B |

Beautiful sight for hiking. The falls are spectacular, trails were very well kept. There are a lot of stairs, but well maintained and all have handrails. 2 trails closed, so only got to hike 3 trails. Great way to spend a few hours.

great views

By Benjamin N |

We went here while visiting family nearby, it was nice to see the great views from the trails. There are a few different trails of varying lengths, the longer ones have some steep steps to climb up but worth it for the views. Family enjoyed the fresh air and the food was good but a bit expensive. Overall nice experience.

Bushkill worth the price!

By Deborah P |

What an amazing place! At first I thought the entrance fee was kind of high, but once I was inside I understood the price. I felt like I was in a giant tree house, walking the boardwalks, climbing the stairs to see beautiful waterfalls!

Lovely destination!

By Sally S |

I was so impressed by this place. Sure it’s not Niagara Falls - though the falls here are very pretty - but it was everything else that made Bushkill Falls so special. First, the area is immaculately clean. Next, the parking lot area is ringed by a nice array of supporting, wooded buildings/attractions - souvenir shop, snack bar, picnic area, rest rooms, natural history exhibits, etc. Then, the tiered waterfalls are easily and beautifully accessible via a network of wood hewn boardwalks, railings and bridges. The craftsmanship was lovely and impressive. And for those wanting to venture beyond the more immediate falls there were lovely trails as well. Highly recommend this place!

Touristy but still beautiful

By Carol757 |

The falls themselves are lovely and well worth the hike, but the surroundings are fairly touristy with snack bars and souvenir shops. Once you get past that, views of the falls are absolutely gorgeous. I appreciated the fact that the map you’re given shows trails of varying degrees of difficulty, so that you can choose the hike that suits your fitness level.

I didn't want to leave

By ouijapad |

First time at Bushkill Falls. Great place to hike even if you're not a regular hiker. Green and yellow trails have ALOT of stairs and mostly wood covered trail. So mud is not a concern. Blue/red trails are more traditional trails. Watch for rocks and raised roots. Beautiful places to stop and listen to the water. You can easily spend the day here just enjoying nature.

Hiking - Must Do While in the Poconos.

By Theresa S |

We love hiking and I found this hike while googling hikes for the Poconos. Was concern that we had to pay, but realized that this was a private area, not a state park. When we walked in and saw all the steps and paths, I was like what did I get myself into. Husband, daughter and myself completed the red trail (the longest), it took a few hours but it was so beautiful and the trails was well maintained and marked. I highly recommend this to hikers and will definitely be back to hike there again.

Worth the exercise

By Rob |

Second time here. Once before was on our Honeymoon and this time we brought our kids back nearly 20 years later.

The paths, steps and route through the loop was in great condition, some of the wood looked brand new. Although it was 2 miles on the longest Red Loop and seemed to be up hill almost the entire time, it was an easy hike without much climbing of rocks involved.

Staff was friendly and we had a picnic lunch in the shade outside afterwards, along with some great Hershey's ice cream and a trip to the shops.

Very disappointed

By SPANKY0154 |

Bushkill Falls needs to specify that it is not Handicap or suitable for small children in carriages. My sister and myself have mobility issues and need to use rolling walkers. We were told we were not permitted to take them with us. We were also told that there were pleanty of places to sit and rest. Along the green trail there was only 1 bench. The snack bar was a total rip off. If you're in great shape without physical issues it would be a great place. But we were totally disappointed. Will never go back again.

Too Overcrowded to Really Appreciate

By Anna Karenina |

I want to give this place five stars, because the falls are beautiful and the trails are amazing. But I really think they should at least consider timed tickets at this point in time. It was extremely overcrowded, even on a weekday, and while we tried to socially distance as per the guidelines, it was nearly impossible. While at the point of admission it was made very clear to us that masks were mandatory while we were on the trails, there were far too many people who had taken them off once they got past the point of entry. Bottom line, if you want to socially distance, wait awhile before coming here.

Nature is beautiful. Customer service is subpar.

By TL109 |

Pros:
-stunning views
-well maintained trails
-fair price of admission

Cons:
-the crowds! We went on a Saturday afternoon so it was obviously a popular time. When we left about 45 minutes prior to closing there was still
a huge line to get in, so I’m not sure there will ever be a “good” time to go.

-customer service. A couple of times we were barely able to get a full question out before being interrupted. I guess you should expect it when you visit the website and it basically says “just because you bought a ticket, don’t expect parking. And if there’s no parking there is nothing we can do for you” (Thankfully we dis find parking)

-there are plenty of signs about the “red” trail
being for hikers and not being easy. While as a hiker I didn’t find them difficult, there is plenty of rocky paths and they are definitely not for toddlers. It would be nice if workers were able to provide some guidance on that, as plenty of people with very small children were not able to cross some of the paths and made it difficult for others to pass on the already crowded trails.

Tip: don’t buy your ticket online unless you screenshot it! Not thinking ahead, we couldn’t access the email with the tickets since there’s obviously very poor cell service. (This was one of the abrupt responses by customer service. If this happens to you, you will have to wait in a very long line at an office where someone tries to help all of the other people who did the same thing you did. Perhaps the answer is to just not sell tickets online!)

Great hiking experience at Bushkill.

By Andrés Blanco |

Went to Bushkill Falls with my family. We were all adults and not in bad shape so we decided to take the longest and most difficult trail (Red trail) so we would be able to see all 8 falls. This trail shouldn't be difficult for anybody in good health, you don't need to be an expert hiker for this but i won’t recommend taking elders or kids to this trail because it does have some challenges along the way. The views are great and the surroundings are well maintained. With the Covid-19 situation things had gotten a little bit difficult if you are planning to go to this attraction. First thing to consider is to get there early. Don't bother buying your tickets online because this DOES NOT guarantee your entree and they close their gates once the parking lot gets full. Another thing is that some facilities are closed and some activities are not being offer right now so keep that in mind and inform well yourself so you won’t drive all the way there for nothing. We took some food and beverages with us so we could stop along the way to take a bite and refresh ourselves which is A MUST if you are hiking the red trail. We had a wonderful time so I will be back!

Take the red trail

By Ccari01 |

There are choices of trails to enjoy the falls at Bushkill. The Main Falls is accessible to even the novice hiker. To explore more, wear your hiking shoes. We took the Red Trail to enjoy not only the Main Falls but also the Bridal Veil,Bridesmaids Falls, the Fennel Falls. It’s lovely at Bushkill, I will bring the kids one day .

Worth a visit

By Andrew L |

Very scenic and the trails are nicely laid out. It was relatively crowded on a Saturday morning but people generally wore masks and were courteous.

We went early enough so we that we were okay with parking but there was a long line to get a spot by the time we left.

Okay waterfalls

By xupower |

The “Niagara of Pennsylvania” it is not, lol. It’s a nice place to see some waterfalls, nothing to write home about. We were staying in the area and decided to check it out, walked the Yellow and Red trails in about an hour. Paid $15 per person on a weekday, can’t say it was worth it, but the stairs are well maintained? You could go to a free nature preserve and get the same experience.

Beautiful Falls, less friendly business employees

By Blueydbld9 |

We arrived at 8:50 this morning, and we waited in the parking lot for the ticket/trail entrance to open. A rather rude woman came out telling us we needed to go back out the gate and come back because they were still cleaning - at this point it was already 8:58 and seemed ridiculous that we were being asked to leave and re-enter. Also, if you weren't accepting visitors yet, the gate just shouldn't have been open anyway. As ridiculous as it was, we drove out the gate (as yet another car was coming in anyway), turned around, and came right back in. To be confronted in that manner was a real turn off, especially as rude as she was, and I really thought about just leaving to go to the Delaware Water Gap Park down the road instead but I'd already pre-purchased tickets as part of our week in the Poconos.

Otherwise, the park was very pretty and the hike was nice. I'm a pretty avid hiker but the stairs can still take it out of you. We were recommended by another visitor to go right rather than left on the red trail, as going right is easier and has more downhill than uphill. More than 50% of the trail is boardwalked or has stairs, but a lot of it is also open trail with some rocky and muddy terrain. I'd recommend hiking shoes if you have them for better support on those tricky rocky portions. It took 2 adults and a 7 year old about 2.25 hours to do the red trail all the way around, and that included several stops or strolls.

The falls overlooks were very nice and gave good viewpoints. The park is well maintained overall. Tickets were fairly steep, in my opinion, but it was way worth it to go on a weekday first thing in the morning. We saw maybe a dozen other small groups or single hikers but mostly had views to ourselves that early. I think if I hadn't bought tickets yet, I would've turned out of the gate, gone somewhere else and not given them my business - I think if you need more time to clean up before guests, you should give yourself more time the night before or morning before you open. Don't yell at your guests to leave the park when your gates are open.

Beautiful and Good Workout

By John M |

Well worth the visit. If you are up for it, I recommend the red trail as it’s a good 1.5 hour+ hike and you see all the waterfalls plus enjoy rest of the scenery. One way or another a good portion of the journey is up hill plus you have to watch your step when you are off the man made portions. Really enjoyed it!

If you aren’t up for as much of a hike they have a shorter and easier version where I think you get to see three of the falls including the main fall.

Keep your money

By bobby e |

its cool but not $15 ($18 on weekends) a person cool. if you live in PA there's waterfalls everywhere. save your money. don't go. the gift shops are outside of the place and once u go in you CANT go out and have lunch and go back in. waste of money. its made out to be more than it is.

Beautiful

Bushkill Falls is Beautiful, fun and family friendly. Lots of stairs, but elderly and young children can do it slowly. It is Highly recommended if visiting the Pocono mountains.

Quick site seeing spot

By marie4899 |

It was 18 a person to get in. Lots of stairs!!! Very beautiful but you can literally walk through and see the falls in less then half hr. And then you come out to gift shops of course. It was ok. I definitely wouldn’t feel the need to revisit this place

Nice family activity

By 707tracyl |

Our family enjoyed walking the trails around the falls (there were different trails to choose from to accommodate different fitness levels and amount of time you have to spend there). Nice photo opportunities along the trails!!

Very Beautiful!

By Grace |

Had an amazing time here on our honeymoon! My husband and I decided to take the longest trail so we could see all of the falls. It took us just over an hour at a comfortable pace, stopping for each fall and to take in all of the scenery. Finding orange salamanders made it an even more unique experience. The gift shop has really neat souvenirs and fair food/drink options.

Beautiful Falls, Park needs much better LISTED HOURS of OPERATION.

By Michelle D |

Four of us went out and really enjoyed the trails and falls. I agree with others that walkways are narrow in spots and you'd have an irritating experience if the trails were busy. Thankfully the park wasn't overly packed when we went. It was nice seeing others and their pooches out on trail and narrow passageways didn't effect us as the park was nicely attended but not overly. Parking was pretty easy and a number of picnic tables were available, which we made use of upon arriving. Why only 3.5 stars?.. One thing really irritated us. The hours listed on their color coded map clearly read that the park should've been open till 7 pm but closed 2 hours in advance of that (at 5 pm.. on a Friday evening, with beautiful weather, clear, bright, IN JUNE! So what's up there?! The kids had really been looking forward to some souvenir shopping and mining for gems. We were all really perturbed that NO notice was available for guests!

Great hike for families

By Adam K |

We went July 6 2020. Two adults and two kids ages 5 and 7. We did the red trail to the left. Little did we know but the red trail to the right is more gradual and therefore easier!
Regardless it was a fun great hike. Took us approximately 2 hours. Just bring a bunch of water to stay hydrated as you will sweat.
The trails are very well maintained.
The mining and maze were shut down due to social restrictions thanks to Covid but we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!

BEAUTIFUL, SERENE, MAJESTIC

By LADYTHUNDERNYC |

its a great trip for the family, or couples, friends. We went on a Monday, it wasn't very packed. Everythig was clean, they are socially distancing and must wear masks in the trails and the gift shops. I think the bathrooms are ONLY i the front, by the parking so make sure you go, because
all you will see are flowing falls, so empty yourself out first.

Magical hike through the waterfalls

By Sara L |

We enjoyed our visit on opening day at Bushkill Falls. While the admission is a little steep, I don’t see how one could safely visit these falls without all of the very well constructed walkways, stairs and bridges so I feel it’s worth it for that. I can see how it would be a little less enjoyable if it were crowded as the parking is limited and walkways are narrow at times but we arrived as soon as they opened and it wasn’t a problem. Not all of the shops and activities were open on opening day but we didn’t come for that so it wasn’t an issue. The falls are beautiful and this place is worth a visit for sure!

Always an interesting walk/hike!

By campjaf |

It’s been 20 years since we were at Bushkill Falls and it’s still as beautiful as ever. We don’t mind paying a fee to walk as it helps them maintain the steps, railings and keep it safer to walk. Wear walking shoes that won’t slip and slide on the wet stone steps or wood bridges. Just remember that all those steps going down are steps that you eventually need to go back up again! The sound and the beauty of the falls is wonderful, inspiring, and we never get tired of seeing and feeling the strength.

What a great trip, if a bit more physical

By gostartraveler |

What a great trip! We decided to do the yellow trail, which seemed like a nice overview, not too short and not too strenuous. Well.... For those like me who haven't been to the gym since CV started, there are plenty of stairs on the yellow trail. And not a whole lot of benches to stop and catch your breath. (Oh - you need to use the bathroom as well as get water before you go through on the trails, because there's neither on the trails and there's no re-entry either.) Our kid did better than me, little effort in walking up stairs. Me on the other hand.... Everything was fine, following the yellow markers until we got past Stop 12 (no, there aren't 12 stops on the yellow trail.) We somehow didn't see any more yellow markers and wound up by Lover's Nook somehow, which has a bench and where we took a snack break. We weren't the only ones "lost," as another family came up to us and asked if we had come from the beginning. I said that if Lover's Nook was to the right, then the yellow trail to the exit was to the left. (And in looking at the map, I'm not sure if we saw Stops 7 and 6, because all we saw, I'm sure, was the bottom of the main falls and the top of the main falls (west.)) Still had a good time, though. The attractions like fishing and mini golf were closed, as was the fudge kitchen and ice cream parlor. There were some snacks (like packaged ice cream, and pretzels) in the snack and gift shop. You need a mask to walk inside the wildlife exhibit (which is the entrance to the trails), but not outside. Get there early. They open at 10, and we got there at 10.30, and already the parking lots were filling up.

Crowded & No Parking

By Michele S |

We tried to go on a Sunday morning. It was so crowded & there wasn't 1 parking spot to be found. We left and went to Raymondskill. The park ranger there told us to stay away on weekends. We never had a chance to return but so many other great hikes & waterfalls there was no need to.

Love Nature? Bushkill Falls has it all!

By Deb S |

Beautiful Waterfall Views! Trails are awesome…one side has part rocks and roots, as well as, friendly landscaped steps capturing beautiful twists and turns of the rushing waters. We visited the charming gift shops and the Sweet Shoppe, where we met staff, Mary and James, who gave us great traveler information as we enjoyed delicious ice cream and fudge. We highly recommend visiting Bushkill Falls!

Beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails, half with wooden walkways and stairs and the other half well maintained natural trails.

It was a perfect day for the short hike on the green trail. If you choose to walk further, there are other trails that are available. Nive souvenir shop. The pavilion is a nice place for sitting and relaxing.

Maskless people everywhere

By FRD |

I read some reviews in which the staff was rude and yelling at people to wear masks.
All the staff was very kind, and there was no yelling of any sort.

However, once inside the grounds, I would say about 30% of people were NOT wearing masks even when they are just a few feet away from you. I understand that some areas allow you to be at least 6 feet apart and can social distance safely. However, people would walk right past you on narrow roadways without any mask in sight. Unfortunately, there is not a way to enforce wearing masks unless you have staff throughout the ground babysitting people during a pandemic.

Other than that, I did enjoy my visit. On a Saturday, I would say the parking lot was completely filled by 11AM. I made sure to get there earlier and bought my tickets online to avoid the long line at the ticket office.

Absolutely TERRIBLE

By jz2006 |

paid $18 per person to see this tiny waterfalls. Don't waste your time and money at this place!! you will see a lot better waterfalls at any State parks for FREE

It was fun, but make sure to have comfortable shoes

By Experience NYC |

It was a very good trip for me and my friends. Falls are just amazing, they were really beautiful. They have picnic and grill places outside of the falls.

GOOD HIKING

By Christina |

Red trail is the longest and hardest and get 7 falls in the recreation area. Blue and green suppose to be easiest. So we decided to take the red, what suppose to be 2 hours end up to be 3.5 hour for us. We took a lot of break and sit by water. That killed some time. Walking along the stream was very relaxing. Overall a good experience. Just wish entry ticket would be cheaper. We also bought a dirt bag for “mining” experience. It was fun. $17 for a regular bag yield a lot of gem.

Disappointed

By Janice Z |

The falls were beautiful. However I was disappointed in the fact they said you can walk and hike as long as you want but provide no inside restrooms or have an access to return without paying again to reenter if you need to use the restroom. That was disappointing and to me not right. They should provide a daily band so you can go in and out for the day!

Nicely done

By Jill B |

We enjoyed this park, walking around on boardwalks in a grotto seeing all the waterfalls. It was a combo of Sun and shade… cool and warm. Lots of steps, lots of rails to hold, lots of spots to rest and just enjoy the view. Take your time… enjoy it go slow if you need. Some boards are getting older.. but it looks like they keep it up. There’s easy walks, med, and hard. We enjoyed an ice cream reward after our red trail… (hard) lots of see and do for free around the parking lot. Picnic, shops, fishing, maze for kids, wooden gem mine thing…😂

A pleasant day

By Susan B |

This is a place where you can make your walk as relaxing or as strenuous as you want. Just a nice cool place with some great views of the falls. Snack bar available (forget it), fudge shop ( oh yeah).
A bit steep in price, However, you get what you pay for: meticulously maintained pathways and boardwalks and no debris.

Simply stunning waterfall

Decided to take a detour going to upstate Pennsylvania and boy was this worth it. Bushkill Falls is incredible . Lots of trails to choose from and well kept. Lots of stairs , climbing, get your workout on!

Parking chaos

By Evvora |

What a terrible idea that we went to this place. Overpriced, overcrowded and nothing much to see or do. Also, parking place is pure chaos.

Beautiful views!

By sharon415 |

We decided to do the Red trail, which was challenging but so worth it to see all of the waterfalls. Be sure to use the restroom before you enter the park. 🙂

Bushkill Falls Adventure

By Rita R |

The address of Bushkill Falls indicated highway 209, but you must turn off 209 and drive at least a mile maybe 2. There is a sign indicating the turn. We were just confused and thought it was on 209. There are lots of "slippery" steps, but worth the effort if your health allows. It was very impressive and well kept. There are different levels of difficulty with 4 trails to choose from. Worth the money--it is privately owned--not part of the National parks. There is a picnic area if you take your own food.

Just incredible experience

By Faye G |

Just incredible! First visit and was glad we arrived at 9 AM. Became very busy around 11:00. Beautiful scenery, the trails were awesome! It’s a must return!!

Strenuous hikes with waterfalls

By MVI |

Gorgeous views of streams and cascading waterfalls, but accessible only via multitude of steep stairs. If you have any issues breathing or with knees/legs/back - do NOT go there! This place is misleading in description of what to expect.

A sweet person serving up sweet treats in the Poconos

Just wanted to drop a great review in for Lynn who took care of us at the fudge shop. We stopped in to buy a piece of fudge and Lynn was so pleasant to talk with. I wish that all of the places we visited had someone like Lynn…it would definitely ensure that people came back since she takes great care of the customers.

Wonderful Family Hike

By Stephanie C |

My daughter and I visited during her spring break to finally check out Bushkill Falls and had an amazing day! We initially thought we would only do the yellow trail but it was deceptively short - we would have been done in 15/20 minutes. We decided to go for a longer hike on the "blue trail" and were so happy we did. Once we got away from the main falls, we hardly saw anyone for over an hour and enjoyed all the beauty and peace in nature. Don't be alarmed by the signs saying its a strenuous hike - if you are even moderately active you shouldn't have any problems. Biggest challenge was the uneven terrain but my 6 year old had no problems.

I recommend going early to beat the crowds and getting off the yellow trail if you want a more serene experience.

Bushkill Falls is awesome

By Leonardo F |

We loved this place. It’s crazy pretty, a real workout and has a mysterious “welcome to Sherwood” vibe. You’ll love it.

Extremely busy, narrow stairs, no mask enforcement on trails.

By Timetraveler |

It's a beautiful hike, But with no limit to capacity and no mask enforcement after entering the trails. You're pretty much at the mercy of those who've decided if Covid-19 is real or not. Climbing the steps can be very difficult wearing a mask. There are places on these trails where 6' distancing is impossible. I love this place. I've been here before and would go again, but I sincerely regret going at this time.

Pretty but PRICY

By NJTravler01 |

Very pretty scenery. I enjoyed it a lot. The whole experience was expensive the tickets were very pricy imo and the gift shop prices were obscene.

Great Time at Bushkill Falls

By BetsyC10384 |

We spent about 3 hours here and jad a great time. Yes there is an entry fee of $16.50pp but you can tell they put the money back into the park. The main parts of the hike you walk over man made stairs and paths. If you do the long hike there is more rugged terrain. Its not tough hiking but there are a lot of stairs. We went in mid November and it wasn't crowded. There was an area outside the hiking area with bathrooms, snacks, and a gift shop. I was glad we stopped. We had a great time!

Beautiful falls.

By Carol and Ray L |

We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful Bushkill Falls and the other falls on the trail, as well as the hike. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5 is because the two staff people who waited on us as we entered on Columbus Day were about as UNFRIENDLY as you can get. We took the long trail (I think it was red) around all the falls and it only took us about an hour and a half and we stopped a lot for pictures and just to enjoy nature. Considering this is privately owned and many acres of upkeep, we thought the trails were very well maintained.

Bushkill Falls - Niagra of Pa

By Cobolal |

We went to Bushkill Falls 2 days in a row. It was not very crowded. We went after very heavy rains. The falls were spectacular.

Waste of money

By Christine C |

Figured this would be a good social distancing outdoor activity for the family to do. Not so. Masks required the whole time on the trail even when it was easy to stay over 6 ft from others (we went early on a Monday before the crowds got bad). I am in excellent shape but after only half an hour I was having a hard time catching my breath, got dizzy, light headed and shaking from having to wear the mask in almost 90 degree weather. I wouldn’t be surprised if people pass out and need medical attention. Feel like we wasted money since we were hardly able to spend any time there and most other activities there were closed. Also there was so much trash and coins in the water it ruined the natural beauty of the place. And if you have small kids make sure they use the bathroom first since there aren’t any inside and you can’t leave and reenter. Won’t be going back any time soon.

Beautiful falls lots of walking and stairs

By sara |

This is a very beautiful park with many waterfalls. You have different trails depending on how much you want to walk. Each trail has steps to climb either up or down. We did the blue trail which was very nice and got to see the beautiful falls. The worst part is no matter what trail you did the hardest or the easiest, once you are done and tired and sweaty you have so many stairs going up you have to climb, so that was rough!

Great waterfalls and hiking!

By Kevin B |

Bushkill Falls is a lovely place filled with numerous waterfalls, extensive natural beauty, and lots of fun hiking. It's a privately-owned park, so National Park passes won't work here. There's a large parking lot and numerous concessions and shops around the parking lot. Tickets are $20/person and they're open from April 1st through Halloween.

The trails are very fun and there's lots of stairs so you can get a view of the waterfalls from above them and from the base of most of the falls. The trails are fairly easy and shouldn't be a big deal for most people unless they have a mobility issue. Make sure to bring water as well as summer in this part of PA gets humid.

Bushkill is a wonderful place and one that we've visited many times over the years. You'll have a great time hiking here!

Could improve Covid protocol

By Gina M |

Overall we had a wonderful trip. My mom and I have been 2 previous times and love the scenery and hiking. We thought it would be a great day trip during the pandemic. We were a bit concerned about social distancing but took our chances. The park opens at 10 and we arrived around 9:45. About a dozen or so cars were lined up along the street to get in and the gates opened at 10. There was plenty of parking and the gates were still open at around 1:30 when we left (on a Friday).
For the most part, visitors were very considerate of others and followed social distancing. However there were a handful of people who did not bother to raise their masks when passing. Most people would wait in a larger opening to let others pass which sometimes caused congestion. There were a few (typically those who ignored mask rules) who were oblivious to those waiting and pushed right past. Many of the trails have very narrow pathways where you can only pass single file. I was hoping the park made some sort of effort to make the trails one way, they are a loop for the most part and this seems like a feasible plan. I do understand there will be risk and we had the option to stay home of course.
It was not too crowded along the paths, with the exception of the waterfall areas. People were stopped to take photos and again most were considerate of others and would wait their turn and not over crowd.
The gift shop allows 10 people at a time in and was well monitored. The bathroom was clean. Overall I would suggest this as a safe activity (although certainly not 100% safe, but what is!) it was a great get away and change of scenery. If you are overly anxious about Covid, I would explore some of the other trails in the area and avoid Bushkill falls as it could be a tad overwhelming and difficult to distance on narrow trails at times.

Beautiful walk in a beautiful setting

By BBE2 |

Can't imagine anyone not enjoying this wonderful attraction near the Delaware Water Gap. It is very well maintained and just a gorgeous place to "hike". I put that in quotes because this is more of a walk than a hike. Did Bushkill with my multigenerational family that includes 2 people in their mid sixties, a 3 year old ,and a woman who is well into a pregnancy . All were able to enjoy the experience. There are a lot of steps to climb, that is true, but the trails at the top of the steps are mostly flat , very manageable, and just so pretty because they are along the water so much of the time. We spent a good couple of hours at the falls and would definitely return.
Also worth noting that there are restrooms, additional exhibits to walk through, a little sportswear shop, and a nice ice cream parlor.

Beautiful and steep

By dustythoughts |

This gorgeous park is absolutely worth a visit, just for the Falls alone. There are several waterfalls here, and each is beautiful in its own right. Admission to the park is a bit steep ($17-18 for adults, $9 for kids 4+), but there are several cafés and gift shops here as well, with a seating area that's suited for both taking a quick snack break or for catching your breath after the steep climbs. And by steep, I mean very, very steep. This park is not for taking a leisurely hike. Some of the paths are also very slippery and thin, which makes the steepness a bit more pronounced, especially when the park is very full (as it was when I visited - there were several tour groups). There are handrails available, and stopping points to photograph the falls and to take a quick break. They have different trail lengths available: 15 minutes, 45 minutes, and 75 minutes. Wear comfortable clothing and be patient with yourself while here, but it's worth a visit.

Good falls in east coast

By Rajagopal S |

One of a very good falls near NJ .. it is about 1.30 hrs or 2 hours drive from central Jersey but it is worth the drive . We have been to this place few years back but now it became toooo crowded and sometimes it takes a lot of time to go through the crowd . Well maintained pathways .

There are 3-4 different loops and based on the time you have you can choose one path .. yellow loops are average difficulty .. it does have some path which is a little steep steps, but not difficult for middle age people.. might be a little stressful for elderly people with knee pain issues.. there is also a red loop which is a lot more of Walk and takes more time.. there are maps showing each path and approximate distance.. parking is a bit crazy, especially near the entrance.. parking is free.. tickets are about $21 which isn’t too bad . Liked it overall . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful!

By dwy |

First off, it costs $20 to tour this area and while that's a bit expensive, it is actually worth the price. We took the red trail, and it was challenging at a few spots but really not that bad. There are beautiful vistas that are really breathtaking! There are a number of falls, each with perfect viewing areas. Go and enjoy nature!

Vacation

By williamsW2951YD |

Beautiful place!! Falls are nice to look at, good little hike to see them, and is a lot of steps, but it was worth it just to see the beautiful scenery and to hear the water flowing, and they do charge to see it, but wife and I thought it was worth it just to get out and walk along and see the sights.

Beautiful but pricey

By Jesi22 |

I’ve never in my life had to pay to take a hike except when entering a national park. I understand it pays for the upkeep but I believe the price is quite steep($18 per person). Even the prices of the other attractions and food seemed a bit expensive however the falls are amazing and it was a nice path. Be prepared for lot of stairs.

Great falls, poor customer service.

By D&D Travel Reviews |

My wife and I attended this spot with our dog on our anniversary trip. The overall visit was good, as it was amazing to see all the different falls. However, even with all the things going on currently, we felt mask requirements on parts of the trail where social distancing was more than met seemed a bit extreme.

Also, our initial interaction with staff was met with swiftness when getting our tickets, which gave a sense of rudeness. This isn’t how you want to start your adventure. Staff in some of the gift shops seemed a bit haste and we didn’t seem to get that welcoming feeling that you should get for an obvious tourist attraction. We were also given mask wearing instructions when entering the gift shop, even though we arrived wearing the mask covering our full face.

Price wise the admission was average. Prices in the gift shop seemed a bit high as well, even for small souvenirs.

All in all the falls are amazing to see and we would suggest going on a weekday or times when there may be less people, as parts of the walkway near the falls can get crowded and hard to move on.

Awesome day trip

By Barbara B |

Awesome day trip. If you love nature and waterfalls, this is a must see. A privately owned property that requires an admission fee but the sights are breathtaking and the property is well maintained. It gives you three trail options between easy, medium and advanced. We opted for the advanced red trail with no regrets. The scenery is spectacular. We went in June where the park was still only allowing 30% capacity because of COVID-19 which made this trip even more special. Not overly crowded. There are lots of steps and rocky terrain but doable if you are mobile and have no disability. Also very shaded if the weather is warm. Highly recommend. Arrive early because this is definitely a popular destination. Use the restroom before entering as there are no bathrooms once inside. We were allowed to bring food and drink though. The snack shop was closed because of the virus as well but the gift shop was open with some minimal snacks and drinks. We were required to wear masks upon entering but was not required inside the park.

Lots of nice waterfalls to see.

By MikeyTravel |

This is a great place to walk around and see some waterfalls and other natural beauty in the Pocono mountains. Much of the trails are wooden boardwalks. Then there are some parts that are ground. Some trails have many rocks and roots, so on those trails, you'll need to pay attention where you are walking. Wear good shoes with tread. Avoid flip flops. Other tips, weekends can be crowded, you can buy your tickets online ahead of time and save yourself some time when you arrive. During COVID19, you'll need a mask, and even though its outdoors, it can be crowded enough that you should keep the mask on while you are there. When its hot and you are exerting yourself, masks are unpleasant, but necessary if its busy. We found some spots where no one was around as we were hiking to take a quick mask break. Another tip. once you enter the trails you cant exit and re-enter, so use the restrooms before you enter the trails. Be sure to take a water with you, and get a map on the way in to the trails. When you exit the trails, there are refreshments you can buy. Overall, its a good activity to do to get out in nature and hike. There are certainly other parks and hiking places where you can hike for free instead of paying a fee as you do here, but all in all, if you like hiking or want to try it out, this is a good place to go.

Bright & Exotic colors on Leaves

By Ayesha Y |

I visited Bushkill Fall in the beginning of Fall season, the week of October, 2019. I was amazed & Speechless to see nature work on leaves & trees, It was bright sunny day, mild temperature, not warm not cold Loo like nature cover s the leaves on trees with Beautiful shades of orange, yellow & red, maroon, green etc. etc.
The Bushkill falls is itself beautiful but with leaves color, it was more beautiful.

A sweet time at Bushkill Falls

As always Bushkill falls was a great day trip filled with beautiful scenery and great hiking. This day I stopped by the sweet shop which I usually go somewhere else for a snack, but It was really nice. Fresh fudge and chocolate on one side and Hershey Ice cream on the other. Mary and AJ were so pleasant and helped my wife and I pick some nice post hike treats. Thanks everyone at Bushkill falls for always making it a fun day 😀

The Niagara falls of Pennsylvania

By Norjeff2 |

Great to walk on the trails. A lot of it is boardwalk style. If you are expecting massive falls, then don’t go. It is good for a nice hike but you will not be overly impressed with the falls. Some trails are more rigorous than others. A good way to take the family on a hike and get some nice photos.

Admission fee to enter.

Variety of trails. Multiple waterfalls

By swished |

The hike was a mixture of boardwalk and trail. Enjoyed the views of the falls from different levels. Added stones to a few of the cairns to show that we were there.

Interesting but expensive site

By Dan |

We did not walk the trails or visit the falls because it would have cost a fortune for our party of eleven people but we did visit the various shops and amenities outside of it. The staff in the shops are truly wonderful people - especially James who serves ice cream - who made us welcomed and appreciated. Even NOT hitting the trails, we still spent almost $300 there.

A great opportunity to get up close to a natural occurrence. A lot of steps but it was well planned with areas for resting. Caution when taking the red trail. Very rustic. We enjoyed our afternoon.

Beautiful Falls

By Empty Nesters |

We really enjoyed hiking through Bushkill Falls. The area is well maintained and the views are amazing. There are a lot of steps, so you need to make sure you are in good shape. Most of the shops were closed when we visited either because of COVID or the end of season. Over all this is a must visit when you are in the area.

Expensive hike

By Luckyeleven |

There are many steps to climb up and down and the hardest trail (red) takes you on rocks and tree roots for a stretch of the trail. This trail is definitely not for inexperienced hikers or people with mobility issues. Even the easier trails involve climbing many steps.
The admission price is quite high and the T-shirts/sweatshirts/souvenirs are also high priced. There are other waterfalls in the area run by the parks service that are free and just as good. In particular Raymondskill Falls outside of Milford are fantastic and free.

Worth a stop.

By Timothy M |

Nice way to spend some time seeing the falls. A bit too commercialized for our liking, but still beautiful nonetheless.

Must see stop

By memcconnell |

Bushkill Falls takes about 2-3 hours if you take the longest trail and stop to enjoy the views. We went after Labor Day weekend during the week so minimal crowds and easy parking. You definitely get your steps in and the red trail was challenging when you got to the rocky section

Cool, but not worth 100 dollars for a family of 5

By Wander68617411273 |

If I hadn't driven over an hour to get here I would have left. I was shocked at the admission prices for a family of 5. Paying 100 dollars is insane IMO. Yes the views are lovely but I think you can have the same or similar experience going to a free trail in the Delaware Gap area.

Great view vs crowds

By CarlLeMaster |

The falls are very nice and the wooden walk way and stairs help people get around who cant do a normal trail. But you may want to stay away on the weekends, I felt like I was in line for a ride at Disney. The entire walk we were moving in a long crowded line and really had no space at all to enjoy the view . It was so busy that there was no place to park in any of their large lots and cars were waiting for spots. So call ahead and try to go on a slow day , you will enjoy it more

Amazing setting and waterfalls!

By BonnieLee77 |

Visited two years ago and had to revisit! This is a beautiful maze of boardwalks and hiking trails through the woods with beautiful waterfalls. Great for children of all ages and adults. These trails are not for the handicapped or disabled. We are 68 and 73 and love this place! Great photo shots here of the main falls and other existing falls. Take your time and enjoy! There are plenty of picnic tables and viewing areas around the lake, fishing, and paddleboats. Take a picnic lunch for after the hike!

Excellent hiking location

By Robert B |

Excellent place to go for a hike. Trails are well marked and can even purchase a trail map for $3.50. Expect to go up and down several stairs

Overall worth the visit

By Lee |

The waterfalls and scenery were beautiful and definitely worth the trip if you haven’t seen it. It’s a lot of steps and and lot of walking. You do have to pay attention to some trees growing over the route but all in all it wasn’t too bad. There were a lot of people there but it was the weekend. Everyone was wearing a masks as well. My only issue was with the gift shop. We went in to purchase some souvenirs and get the bags for the kids to do the mining for gemstones activity. From the moment we walked in, the worker Ashley was yelling at everyone (mostly kids). She kept telling everyone to pull their masks up (everyone including the kids had them up over their noses). She was then yelling at some other kids for putting their mining bags on the floor to look at their gems. This continued on and on for the most ridiculous things. It got to the point that I almost put my items down and walked out and it wasn’t even my kids she was speaking to. It such an awkward and uncomfortable 10 minutes. I had 2 other people comment about her behavior as well and we all agreed she is going to make them lose business. Other than this experience everything else was good and definitely worth seeing. Just don’t go in the gift shop especially if you have kids!

Beautiful but be in shape

By CLCCWC |

Beautiful sites, loved walking and seeing different views of the falls. However, there are A LOT of steps. This would be difficult for some not in good shape. The steps can be wet so be cautious. Definitely worth seeing, we loved it.

Beautiful

By Christina S |

Beautiful trails and rustic architecture, glad that the land is preserved for nature, weird that someone is profiting off gifts from the earth. Also lets not forget Charles Peters stole this land from Lenni Lena'pe people and leased it to Aramark which profits from the mass incarceration system

Definitely worth the visit!

By 910dianel |

Definitely worth the views; One word to keep in mind- STEPS. LOTS of them, even along the popular yellow route. Be prepared for that- or your thighs will remind you the next morning. Might go back in the fall; i bet the turning of the leaves is gorgeous to see with the falls.

Good for fun hiking

By sanju_222323 |

So we chose the wrong day to visit this place. It was the 4th of July,2019 and it was full of people. We reached here by 2 in the noon and god, we have to drive in the woods to park our car( Parking is free though). It was a good 5 minutes’ walk to the main counter. A ticket is $16.5 (Weekends/Holidays) and $14.5 for Weekdays and $8.5 for Child. There is senior concession ( $13.5/$15.5 for Weekdays/Weekends). Basically, there are 3 types of trails, depends on how much adrenaline rush in you :P

Green trail - 15 minutes - if you just want to see the fall without climbing
Yellow Trail ( Most popular one- 45 minutes) - follow the trail for breathtaking views of both the top & bottom of the main falls as well Lower Gorge Falls, Upper Canyon.
Red Trail - for Hike lovers- you will enjoy this route. Its 2 miles through spectacular mountain scenery and past all 8 falls. 2-3 Hrs

Of course, we chose the Yellow trail. Colors code are embedded in trees which let you know that whether you are on right or wrong trail. In any trails, you would have to climb Lots and lots of stairs. There is a straight path too. This place is very well maintained throughout the entire park. Wooden Steps takes you to very close to a number of falls. On many occasions, you are able to view the falls from several angles. Photography can be very interesting at certain points and you can take some great photos. Get your tripod. At the end of the yellow trail, there is a creek where you can stand in the water. Water is just 1-2 feet high. It was very relaxing.

in addition to trek/hike to fall, park visitors can also walk through a maze, play with their kids in a number of interactive areas, and shop in two gift shops. One with very touristy stuff, and another one across the road, they have lovely a Native American exhibit and gift shop. There's a cafe, but it's a bit expensive, I believe. A small shop is also there where the history of this Jungle and Falls has been explained very well.

While going back in the car, I was discussing with my wife that "it is just a normal fall, nothing very amazing about it. But the way they have made the wooden stairs/path to the top & bottom of all 8 falls through woods and Jungle, makes it more interesting and fun and we would love to come back again."

Note: Wear the right shoes and bring water.

Good place to hike alone or with family

By ZhuZhu L |

Different color of trail along the water fall. Green trail is the easiest, takes approximately 15 minute, yellow trail is 45 minutes, blue trail is 1 hour 15 minutes, and red trail is 2 hour 30 minutes. Admission fee is about $15 per person.

Worthwhile activity

By Michelle R |

A great way to spend several hours. The falls are amazing and well worth doing. There were a few steep sections that were hard but there was plenty of places to stop and rest. The trail was slippery after all the rain. Recommend wearing sturdy shoes. The Native American exhibit was well done and very informative. Surprisingly the teen and tween loved doing the gem mining (additional cost). The mining resulted in loss of cool gems and fossils. We used the picnic area which was also nice.

Hiking Trails/ Different Intensity Levels/ Beautiful Views

By frx1986 |

Good hiking trails and beautiful views. The trails are rated depending on the intensity and amount of time it takes. Even the easiest trail has many steps. You can walk the trails at your own pace. Pet friendly- not suitable for toddlers. They provide maps which are very helpful.

Unfortunately, the staff are not friendly.

Cool place

By Doughboysigep |

This was our second visit to Bushkill Falls (1st with "older" kids - 6 & 8). We decided not to do too much in the hot humid weather so we did the board walks up and down the gorge and main falls (that was enough). Enjoyed it and think the kids did too. It is a bit pricey but I think it is worth it. Like most places in a touristy area, the gift shop is expensive.

Chasing waterfalls

By Through_an_adventurers_eyes |

This is one of my favorite day trips when we visit the Pocono Mountains. The last two times we have come to Bushkill falls, we took the yellow trail, which is shorter and the more common route people take. This time around we took the red trail, which was picked by my oldest daughter. It takes you around the whole area, you see all eight waterfalls and some other cool finds such as an area with a plethora of cairns. Two of my four daughters decided to build one themselves. The red trail also has less people around, perfect for Covid. Bushkill is also operating at I believe 75% capacity, which seems like alot, however the place is so big, you cant really tell. If you are in the area, definitely check this place out. Well worth the $$.

Beautiful, but very commercialized

By RachelS1689 |

The various falls are very pretty, and the trails and steps (of which there are many) are kept in good condition. The bathrooms were reasonably clean and there was plenty of parking.
They also seem to be on top of the Covid situation. There are plenty of signs with safety rules posted at the entrance.

On the negative side, I was there on a Friday morning and it was on the verge of being crowded; I'm sure on summer weekends it's packed. Plus there's just something about paying admission to see a waterfall that irks me.

Beautiful Bushkill

By Karen V |

Autumn at Bushkill was beautiful! While there were loads of autumn seekers, the trails flowed easily. Trails are marked and there are plenty of signs in the event you get off your trail.

Family adventure at Bushkill Falls.

By DASarmient |

It is a tour of that great natural landscape, where it connects you with nature, and enjoys pure fresh air, and its waterfalls.

Stairways to Waterfall Heaven

By Hudson Valley Mom |

So many waterfalls! So many steps! Bushkill falls is a nature attraction in the Delaware Water Gap region of PA. We hiked the red trail which involves both boardwalks cantilevered over the various falls, stairways, and more traditional trails through the woods. Very impressive waterfalls that you get to see up close from both the top and bottom. Do not recommend the red trail (the most difficult) for those in poor physical condition- t-shirts at the gift shop say it has 1247 steps. Kids had a great time. There is a basic snack bar, ice cream, drinks and a few souvenir shops at the location. Although we went on a busy weekend the trails were not too crowded once we got away from the entrance area.

Gorgeous views and trails

By MrsP129 |

Simply spectacular! So many gorgeous views as you wind along the trails.
This property is very well maintained and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We challenged ourselves with the red trail and it was definitely worth the effort.

Excellent example of nature’s beauty.

By Dana W |

If you love nature this is a must!! It has 4 different routes to see the main fall or all 8. Just to see the main fall, only a few steps and really short walk are required. This route gives the physically impaired a chance to enjoy the beauty. I took the red route to see all the falls. They say this has over 1200 wooden steps along with a very rocky trail. It has a lot of really neat wooden sidewalks. Someone spent a lot of time and effort building these. If you have seen Rickets Glenn state park this is nowhere as difficult. Took me an hour and 15 minutes, but I was alone. There was a group close to me that took them just a bit longer. Of course you can take all day if you like. Cost $16 without discount. Dogs are welcome. I saw several. Really glad I stopped by. Only about 20 miles south of I-84.

Great for hiking trails

By Terence T |

This was a good hiking experience with good sights of waterfalls. Definitely bring comfortable shoes, water and your mask.

Do not go to this place it’s not worth it.

By tara |

There is no mask enforcement on the trails whatsoever. I highly recommend not going here, as I just visited today and am definitely worried I contracted COVID-19 at this site. So many people were not wearing masks and the paths and stairs were too narrow to get away from people. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was the new COVID-19 hotspot.

Nice

Great viewing of many falls. We visited after a heavy rainstorm the day prior. Two hours to complete red trail. Enjoyed!

Oct. 14-16 Bushkill Falls Adventure

By Glyfada1976 |

My wife and I journeyed up to Bushkill Falls to see Fall colors and many waterfalls. The admission fee for seniors was worth the money. Stayed in an inexpensive Airbnb nearby since most motels were booked. We took the Red Trail and saw all 8 waterfalls. Previous week had rainfall so the water flow for the falls was great! Lots of stairs on the Red Trail but we did it! Found that if you start at the end of the Red Trail it seems easier. Instead of climbing upward on trail stairs you are going down the stairs instead. Trail was challenging but we did the whole trail. Worth it and beautiful in the Fall

Great hiking excellent time in Bushkill Falls

By gordon a |

The views were absolutely amazing. It was a really great place to take a hike. We had a great time. When we were done, we went and got ice cream and we were helped by Max and James, who were so helpful that I attempted to tip them when they refused and said they couldn’t accept tips. I decided I would give them review to return their kindness and great service since I was unable to tip them . An excellent place to go when on vacation, Great sightseeing would go again.

NOT Covid friendly

By Samantha A |

DO NOT go! Completely overcrowded and couldn’t enjoy the experience at all. Did not feel safe and could have easily been exposed to Covid. It’s absolutely absurd that they don’t limit the number of people.

Beautiful place for a hike

By sjc43 |

Easy hiking (even the red trail) through beautiful woods next to a stream and gorgeous waterfalls. The Lower Gorge and Main falls are large and beautiful. Trails are well marked and maintained. There’s clean restrooms before the entrance and a snack bar, sweets shop, and gift shop. It gets crowded on the weekends.

Great day out!

By Mike C |

At first, I was skeptical about paying what I thought was a high price for a “walk in the woods,” but after doing this, I’m convinced that it was well worth the price! They have four trails here that can show you as many as eight waterfalls, ranging from 15 minutes for an “easy” hike (which still has a considerable number of stairs… yes, stairs), to a two and a half hour hike that covers everything (and has 1,267 stairs/steps). The Yellow, Blue, and Red trails take you all the way to the bottom, maybe 150 feet down, and then you will work your way up. You WILL work to get back up… make no mistake about that! But, man! The view of the main falls is pretty special.

The majority of the Yellow Trail is wooden decking and stairs that snake around the mountain walls, and give you some amazing scenery to take in. Great photo opportunities throughout, so keep your phone ready, and don’t drop it!
There are a few other things to do up top for the kids, like a maze, panning for gems or gold, and a Native American museum, with an attached gift shop of course. Yes, it might be a bit pricey, but we’ve wasted more money than this on much lesser attractions. Do this! Even if you are not outdoor people (like, we are not), you will enjoy this. You need good knees and a full water bottle. Have fun!

Beautiful and serene

By Ayesha |

Loved our day trip here tickets are a bit expensive for the place it is nowhere near Niagara ( as they claim Niagara of NYS 😅) still we loved it

Great view

By Subo |

We got there right around 10:15am on a Wednesday. There was no waiting and we were probably the one of the only 4 cars that was parked. Keep in mind it was in-fact a weekday and COVID era.

I had great experience. It was a combination of man made path (Wooden stairs) and well maintained hiking trails. We took the red trail and took us about 2-2.5 hours to return to the parking lot. Things like icecream shop, paddle boat, exhibits were closed. Not sure if they are open on the weekends. It was relatively easy walk throughout the trail.

I highly recommend you also check out other attraction around the area (ie Delaware water gap) if you visit the Bushkill waterfalls. There are also other waterfalls which are free for you to visit.
