We were interested in the dark pink blossoms on a few of the trees. Are the those the Cherry Trees. I didn't think they bloomed so early.

I use this trail to commute to the work everyday I can. It is peaceful and provide me both mind and physical exercise. It is very well design, so you exercise but at level that anyone can do, and it goes along the river and tree areas that provide you beautiful and inspiring views. Don't miss the everyday best of DC!!!

The Capital Crescent Trail from Bethesda to Georgetown is an very accessible trail for bikers at most levels. Riding to Georgetown in pretty easy, slight downhill incline most of the way. You can make a day of it in Georgetown or just have lunch at one of the many restaurants. We ate with the open air breeze blowing in at J Paul. The ride home looks daunting because of the constant incline but it is not bad because it is so gradual. No need to huff and puff.

Love this 7 mile long trail thru pretty bridges and next to nice quaint neighborhoods. I felt safe on this busy trail even when it got dark plus the entrance is near the Bethesda Row are so you can finish up and go grab a nice salad or coffee or quick bite al fresco for dinner or lunch!

We wanted to rent bikes but decided to walk at the last moment, and had a fantastic experience. It was a slightly hot day but the trail has shades and we never felt hot. We started from Bethesda and walked to Georgetown. It took us 2.5 Hrs to cover the distance. We also covered Bethesda to Silverspring the next day, which was equally nice except we didn't have the river view.
I think you can easily spend 3-4 hours on the trail. Carry your water and something to eat if you want to. There are benches to sit so if you want to be slow and just enjoy the trail, you can certainly do that.

Lovely and well kept trail that runs from Bethesda to Georgetown. No big hills to climb in either direction. I love when it reaches the Potomac and then you can bike along the river!

Washington is a privileged city for biking. You can bike from the suburbs in Bethesda to downtown DC by taking the CCT which is paved and surrounded by trees. Plenty of wildlife to see if you are lucky. The trails tends to get quite busy on weekdays at the morning and afternoon commute. The views are amazing, green and full of trees at the start to the river views and the monuments at the end. Highly recommended if you like biking.

The trail runs from Northern Washington all the way to Georgetown and even the Lincoln monument. It only crosses roads for a tiny fraction of the way so is very family friendly. From the north it is all downhill and easy going. As it approaches Washington it hugs the Potomac and is very scenic. Going north it is uphill but climbs only 300 feet over 5-6 miles, easy cycling, walking or running for anyone of moderate fitness. There are restrooms about halfway along the route. Bikes can be hired in Bethesda, e.g. From Griffin cycles for $30/day, including helmet and padlock. Staff are very helpful. The only watch out is the trail can be quite busy so you do need to keep to the right and watch out for other users.

Paved off-road trail is great for walking and talking outside but on a paved trail through the Bethesda suburbs all the way into Washington DC. But walk in the right, and watch out for the bikes speeding along. .

I occasionally use the Capital Crescent Trail to bike from Bethesda to DC. The trail is downhill from Bethesda to DC, so keep that in mind if you have to go back up to Bethesda. It's a very runner and bike-friendly trail. Parts of the trail on the DC side are a little bumpy, but overall it's a very well kept pathway.

We started our trek in Georgetown after a pleasant brunch in cafe Leopoldo (check my review).
We did a part of the C&O and another of the Crescent trail.
The views are beautiful. We came across lots of people running and biking. It's super busy.
We walked in a path between the river and the canal. It's so cool and it's not hard at all.
During our trek we got lost. We missed the exit to Bathsheba. Fortunately we found a nice guy that was very helpful.
We left the path and we walked along the road. Eventually we found the right trek to Bathsheba again.
The park should have more and better signs because it's very unclear, it's easy to get lost.

This trail is a much used and much needed pedestrian conduit between Silver Spring / Bethesda to Georgetown. I used it for running and biking. If I lived there for longer, I would likely have used it for commuting. Save the Trail!

We rode our bikes from Bethesda to Georgetown ( had lunch) and then to the Lincoln Memorial. The trail is very well maintained and easy to navigate. We had 4 kids with us ages 10-13 and they had a blast! It's a great way to enjoy our nation's capital and see the sights without hoping in and out of the car and trying to find parking.

We took the Capital Crescent Trail from Bethesda to Georgetown then continued to the Jefferson Memorial just before the Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom. It's tricky to find your way from Georgetown to the Memorial but still worth the effort if you plan ahead. The trail had only two street crossings and was only at a slight grade. There is a tunnel and a bridge, which you kids would enjoy. It connects to the C&O canal tow path if you want to extend your trip.

A hidden gem in DC! This paved path is great for running/walking and cycling, and it has mile markers every half mile. Flush toilets at Fletcher Cove, where the free parking lots are. Running parallel for a bit is the C&O towpath for those who prefer a sand/gravel path. Great views of the city including the Washington Monument.

If you are the type that likes to explore new sites, great nature, sightseeing from unusual spots, you should enter the Capital Crescent Trail.
You can access from downtown DC to go up to North Bethesda, MD
I visited the trail last week, with great fall landscape, even had the chance to spot deer in the trail.
You feel part of the community of joggers and bikers.

Capital Crescent Trail starts at Fletcher Boathouse on the Potomac and branches off the C&O Canal tow path heading NE towards Bethesda. The trail surface (formerly a rail bed) is well maintained and trail is suitable for pedestrians, hikers, bikers and skaters. While quite busy on weekends, trail traffic is light on the weekdays. Trail leads thru Montgomery county suburbs of Bethesda and Chevy Chase and the pavement stops just east of Rock Creek bridge, before trail hits downtown Silver Spring. While the trail is mostly thru parks and ravines, you will find your favorite coffee shops and bookstores when trail crosses downtown Bethesda. This is a great place for bike or walking trip from either end of the trail or from anywhere in between.

This is a great biking trail easily accessible from Bethesda or Georgetown If you go from Georgetown you will bike uphill so get a workout in at the beginning. The trail closer to Bethesda has more pedestrians so you will be having to bike around them. But once you get further away, it is mostly bikers. It is very easy to navigate and the pavement in excellent condition.
