Jessica was a FANTASTIC tour guide!! Very knowledgeable and super awesome at connecting with the tourists :)

Had a great visit to the Cascade Caverns. We've been to the Natural Bridge Caverns before and it was refreshing to see a different site. The caverns are beautiful and our tour guide, Melissa, was great. She had a lot of great information to share and as a music minor, even sang to our group in the last room of the cavern. It was great! We went on a Friday afternoon in June and it wasn't too crowded. We were all given our own flashlights to use during the tour, which was a nice touch and made the cave discovery even more fun. We'll definitely return and recommend to friends and family!

Very nice interactive tour, it felt forced at times with the guide telling you exactly what to do but Melissa she was very polite and lively. The tour lasted about an hour so is a decent tour overall interesting and family friendly.

This was such a fantastic tour. Aaron led our group with nine small children and was a rockstar. Complete with rescue of a lost mining hat into the pool.

Our tour guide, Bree, gave us an amazing tour. The cave was so interesting and cool. We experienced complete darkness, and that was the best activity we did. There were also many tiny bats and salamanders. They also had such a cool gift shop with the coolest rocks. We would definitely cone back and recommend it to others.

On our way back home we stopped by this place and glad we did. The tour was just long enough to experience the beautiful cave and keep my 5 year old entertained. We loved it! Our guide Stingray was very informative and funny to boot! Highly recommend for families with children.

Melissa was our tour guide and she was amazing!
Our 4 kids range in age from 16-6 and they all had such a fantastic time. They can’t stop talking about it!

The cavern is amazing! A very nice surprise just minutes north of San Antonio on Interstate 10. If you have a couple of hours, this is definitely worth it. Very reasonably priced at around $20 per adult.
It’s a guided tour. Bring sneakers or some rubber sole shoes. Emily is a great guide.

Wonderful experience! The Caverns are incredible! My grandsons loved it! Our tour guide “ Mr.Stingray” was so good with the kids, loved his sense of humor. 😊
Loved the gift shop as well. Bought a plush bat & a wooly mammoth & rocks.

I have been to about five caves now and this is by far my absolute favorite. Our tour guide Bree was the best tour guide my family has ever experienced, especially considering the fact that my son has communicative disabilities. Will be coming again!!!

Jessica was great, very informative. We enjoyed the tour. We will go again. We recommend you try this adventure.

What a great time! Melissa was fun and knowledgeable. The bats were cool stuff thanks for a great time

I took a group of friends for July 4th during the pandemic. All of us felt safe. Sanitation and caution was apparent. Jessica was absolutely amazing. The tour was informative and entertaining! Not to mention the 60 degree weather we got to escape into in July. Even the guy in the gift shop was patient with all the questions about the crystals and rocks. Mr. Kyle made sure we knew the history of the property and artifacts found on the property. It was an amazing day!

Visited 10/26/24 and wanted to leave a review to shoutout our tour guide Bri as well as the cave. Very natural cave compared to what you find most of the time and enjoyed our time down there. Bree was awesome and very knowlegable about the history and the science of the cave. Great tour and appreciated the time Bri jtook to answer everyones questions. All around good experience.

If you only go to one cave in the area, go here. It feels like you are exploring a real cave. It isn’t as commercialized as some others; it is more of a “living cave.” We saw bats and salamanders! Our guide, Dylan, was very knowledgeable and really has a passion for what he does.

Wonderful tour. Very active cave with tricolor bats and Cascade Cavern salamanders. Brandon was super knowledgeable and funny-recommend catching his tour.

We are rock hounds, so the rock store was a treat. We bought several beautiful specimens before we entered the cave. The vigorous walk to the cave entrance was worth it. This is a living cave, where the walls and ceiling drip water that has been filtered through the rock formations above it. Beautiful flow stone, a solid ceiling of tiny stalctites, each one with a sparkling drop of water on the tip, several green pools, and the occasional tiny bat sound asleep on the wall. We saw hollowed out bowl-like indentations on the high ceilings, evidence of the power of the water flowing through the cave eons ago. Our guide Melissa was well-informed and thoroughly entertaining.

We had a wonderful experience!
We went on a week day in early December. We pulled into the parking lot and didn’t see any other cars and wondered if it was closed. Walked into the gift shop and was warmly greeted by three people that appeared to be busy doing gift shop things. One of the young men introduced himself and as I was about to ask him to repeat his name, because I didn’t catch it, as it was a bit unusual sounding to my ears, said to just call him by his nickname of “Stingray”, everyone does, because, as he explained, it was easier than remembering his real name, assured us that they were open and that he would personally take us on a tour of the caverns.
“ Stingray’s” attitude from the get-go was upbeat. He started out with some light-hearted conversation and gave us a safety briefing before the tour. It was obvious that he was very knowledgeable about the caverns, it’s history, geological makeup, and the local ecology that surrounds the area.
This young man took just the two of us on an hour + tour of the caverns that was filled with education, great conversation and humor.
He answered all of our questions and interjected a few personal tidbits in his conversations that made the tour a wonderful experience.
Though it’s a smaller family-owned venue, we would highly recommend the Cascade Caverns tour for anyone that appreciates a more personable experience!

James did a great job showing us through the cave. Funny and informative. The tour can be difficult as there are 120+steps and it could get slippery.

Melissa was amazing. Beautiful cave. A must see. My favorite part was the cathedral room. Actually spotted a cave salamander and tri- colored bats. A perfect day trip!
Melissa was extremely knowledgeable about the cave and it's history. Also very friendly and put everyone at ease. This was our 5th cave in 6 weeks and it is by far one of the most beautiful. Camping is also available.

Great way to spend a few hours. Inexpensive and slightly treacherous, good fun for able bodied kids and adults. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgable.

We took the cavern tour on a Wednesday, and there was no crowd and weather was nice and cool. Jessica led our tour, accompanied by Hunter, and she was a fountain of facts about the caverns and their history. It was really a fun tour with some unusual things to see in the caverns. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who's never gone, but I highly recommend putting it on your list! The tour took about an hour or so and we took our time. Jessica and Hunter were great!

We loved the cave tour. My grandsons had alot of fun. Our tour guide, Jessa , was very engaging and informative. She took the time to show us the wildlife , such as bats and salamanders, and many other features of the cave. She also told us the history and many interesting facts about the caverns.

We took the kids here during Spring Break and we had a great time.!The children and adults really enjoyed the tour and we learned so much! Our guide, Hannah, was very knowledgeable and made the tour so much fun! Highly recommend visiting Cascade Caverns. Make sure you wear tennis shoes.

Awesome spot...happy accident we found it! Highly recommend going. Ireland was a great guide. Super interesting tour

Cascade Caverns was really cool - especially with the bats, salamanders, and mastadon! Our guide, Jessica, was really fun and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. I highly recommend visiting when you’re near Boerne!

We went on a Monday morning in January, so it ended up being a private couples tour. We loved our tour guide Brandon! He was an amazing and hilarious guide, and obviously well experienced & knowledgeable. We had a great time!

The cave was gorgeous, everything was reasonably priced, and James was a great tour guide! He answered our questions, made the tour lots of fun, and was very helpful overall! Thanks James!

Sarah was my tour guide and was amazing!! This cave is extremely active which is awesome to see, the tour is extremely educational and the little bats and salamanders are such an great treat to witness. I live close by so I go to this cave often but it never gets old. Absolutely can't wait to come back!!

Enthusiastic guide, Jennifer. Really seemed to enjoy what she was doing. It is a very old cave - you will likely see several formations, some bats and salamanders. Our 8 and 10 year old's really enjoyed it

There is an hourly tour which takes a limited number of people. We bought tickets for the afternoon in the morning and first went to Fredericksburg, which worked well. The caves are impressive and the tour is good fun. There is an extensive gift shop with exhibits as well and somewhat out of character, a T-Rex outside.

Aaron was a phenomenal, informative tour guide. He stopped plenty of times and did not rush us when we were looking around. He was patient and kind to our two young boys. I would highly recommend a tour of this modest, rustic cavern, especially with Aaron!

Jessa was awesome, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Loved the historical info. Great family afternoon trip. My favorite part was the lights out section!

Very nice caves, with many concretions. Our Guide Brixie was really great, she had even printed us a little paper in French with explanations and instructions. It's refreshing, it's 17 degrees in the caves and it's very humid. There are salamanders, "white shrimps", bats.

We had a couple hours to kill before going to the airport and this was a great experience! Brandon our tour guide was patient and funny. The cave had interesting history, formations, and animals. The tour was a short 45 min and reasonably priced.

Tour was awesome. Very informative. My 8 and 10 yr granddaughters enjoyed it also. Our guide, Stingray, was very knowledgeable and personable.

We surprised our daughter and family for Christmas from central North Carolina (She lives in Boerne Tx) I found Cascade Caverns on line and its 15 Min from our daughter's house. A fantastic Cave Tour experience. A Great Staff, Great Campsite and a Great location to a lot of attractions in the San Antonio and Hill Country area. I highly recommend. We will definitely stay here again.

My wife, 10yr. old daughter, & myself took a short drive from NW San Antonio to the caverns. Tour guide (Sting Ray) was witty and personable. 1 hour tour. Great weekend afternoon get away. Groups were small enough to enjoy the sights and to hear the guide.

Our cave tour guide was informative and I liked the smaller group tour. The facilities were clean and well maintained. Quiet park with trails to explore.

This is an amazing fun tour. Alex, our tour guide was so knowledgeable and fun too! Safety was a priority, and keeping the caves safe from touching, and bothering critters was important too! Thank you for this fun activity, and break from the heat too!!

The caves were pretty great. Not too long of a tour and the guide, Emily was great! Lots of stairs and low ceilings

Tour guide did well, but cave is pretty mediocre. Almost gave it a poor rating, but the cavern was the only thing I did during our visit. They have camping and other activities as well, but we didn't do those. Given the price for 3 adult and two kids, I can't recommend it.

Had the best tour of a cavern by Stingray! He was funny, informative and made the tour a lot of fun for everyone in the group. I highly recommend touring this cavern. It was a very wet and live cave. We saw a cave cricket, salamanders and quite a few tiny brown bats. Definitely go and see it!

We had a great time exploring Cascade Caverns! Hannah was our tour guide and SO knowledgeable! She was able to answer questions and show us all kinds of interesting things in the cave. Thank you!!!

So beautiful, quiet and peaceful! I stayed for several months and didn’t think I’d ever leave! Well kept grounds and facilities, amazingly helpful and kind staff and management. All around fantastic experience that I’d highly recommend to anyone! Minutes away from Boerne Lake and Joshua Springs park.

My family and I travel full-time around the United States. While traveling it's rare to come across a place to stay that truly is a wonderful experience. Cascade Caverns was absolutely wonderful for us and our young kids. We stayed there for two months in a fifth-wheel trailer, we had full hook-ups, great wifi and quiet days and nights. There is plenty of activities to do from hiking the trails to nature watching to touring the cave. Not to mention that it's an easy 30 minute trip down the ten to downtown San Antonio. The staff is very friendly and professional and bends over backwards to help the guests get what they need and have a great time. We absolutely loved our stay and couldn't have been more happier.

The daughter gave it a 10 out of 10. Sebastian was a great tour guide. Loved it. Got some awesomeness from the souvenir shop.

This was an amazing tour! Our guide, Emily, made the tour so interesting with all the many details she knew. We were lucky enough to see some bats, up and personal! I’m glad we stopped by.

Really fun tour with our guide James, who successfully persuaded me along the way that bats are, in fact, Not That Scary. At least not the ones who live here, as they are the tiniest and fuzziest bats ever. They’ve even been given names due to their habitual torpor spots in the cave (shout-out to my new friend Bathtub). The cavern itself is easily walkable with only a short section where the ceiling is low enough to require stooping. Getting to and from involves a hundred or so stone steps. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide Brandon was very kind. He made the experience very enjoyable with his knowledge of the cave. The temperature was really nice and everything was very natural.

Beautiful sights, interesting facts, and if you go with friends, it is a nice time-killer that comes with instagram worthy photos!

I went earlier today when around noon ,there was 10 people on the tour and I was lucky enough to get stingray.I couldn’t have been more pleased with him he made it the most interesting cave I have ever been to. I would definitely recommend asking for stingray. Also I was amazed after the cave tour I went to the rock shop to discover the phenomenal rock collection some of the rocks where so outstanding I could have stayed for ever.

Stingray was a great tour guide! Had a great time and enjoyed the dad jokes! Ended up being a private tour with our little trio because we came at the last time slot, but would rec to any friend who come to visit the area

Our guide James did a great job in explaining things. Very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time there. Thanks James!

Emily conducted the tour with skill, knowledge, and humor. An enjoyable experience and a beautiful cave.

Best little cavern in the area! Had a great time on the tour of the cavern. James was an awesome tour guide!

Great cave good story about how the cave was found. Great formations and a must see if you like caves.

Visited a couple days ago but wanted to leave a review to shoutout our tour guide Bree as well as the cave. Very natural cave compared to what you find most of the time *cough cough Natural Bridge* and enjoyed my time down there. Bree was awesome, I never get to nerd out with people about chemistry, but she was down to talk about the conduction process that creates the solution domes in their lowest area. Not typically what you get from a guide but was beyond pleasantly surprised. All around cool girl and cool tour. Go if you're thinking about it!!!

This was such a lovely experience! Our guide Kyle (or was it Luke... I forgot his name) was amazing, so knowledgeable and created such an entertaining and informative experience for us. I had been wanting to go cave visiting for years and am so glad I made the trip to Boerne from Houston to visit this gorgeous little place. This is so so so worth the entry fee. In-joy!

We had a great experience with Linray (aka Stingray) who was a very knowledgeable and personable guide!

We had such an amazing time on our tour! We got lucky and was just out and our guide! Sebastian was our tour guide and he was amazing! Answered all our questions and had the best jokes! 10/10 recommend

We went to Cascade Caverns and Campground last weekend with extended family and had an amazing time. The campground is surrounded by woods and the kids loved hiking and looking for deer, turkeys, lizards, etc. The cavern was super cool and definitely worth a tour. The gift shop had some really nice items that were very well priced. The only thing is that it was hot and I wish there was a pool or swimming hole. Other than that, this campground was great!

We had a great time during our visit! James was hands down the most entertaining and vibrant tour guide we’ve ever had! He was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. They loved seeing all of the bats. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Linray made it fun and interesting. Cool little cavern . Had a blast. Will definitely come back! Great price too.

Rainy afternoon when our family went…..prices were good and even a Military discount. We had a Service dog that could enter caverns as it’s a living cavern which was absolutely ok; I wasn’t going into cavern as it has very low ceiling and wouldn’t be able to stand it!

I took my family and we loved it! Our tour guide , Jessa, was absolutely wonderful and knew all the history and fun stories about the cave. we recommend it to everyone!

Very awesome cave to explore. About an hour long and the tour guide was very nice and made the tour fun. Lots of stairs. It’s not that hard going down but is hard going up lol. But very nice views to take a lot of pictures.

Emily was simply lovely! She gave a very informative and fun explanation during our tour. Must see !! Great for the whole family.

The cavern is really amazing to see. Our tour guide was Stingray and his whole presentation was super funny!
I loved it. I recommend this place to anyone.

Jessica, our tour guide, was simply the best! She was very informative & added to the awesomeness of the tour! I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a little adventure beneath the surface.

From San Antonio our phone brought us here by some two lane roads which were so peaceful to drive, and arriving at the Caverns, so quiet and peaceful with that country look and feel, it was pretty relaxing. Like one of those places the city forgot about. It was nice. The trail was nice to walk on for a little walk in the woods to stretch our legs, though they would benefit by putting up fresh trail markers. The cave was good too, and our tour guide did a great job!

"Stingrey" the tour guide was really funny, put us at ease and was really knowledgeable. We had a great time and would recommend this tour/caves 100%

We have been on multiple cave tours and this was one of the best. Our tour guide, James, answered every question and made the kids walk away feeling super enthusiastic. So much fun and a great place to spend some time enjoying Texas' natural beauty.

We had a fabulous trip to Cascade Caverns! Jessa was our tour guide and was great for our whole family. She answered all questions with knowledge and excitement about her job and the caverns. We love seeing the animals down there and all the formations! It was a fabulous tour for the whole family, but especially for my ten-year-old. Thank you Jessa and Cascade Caverns for making our vacation great!!

We went with a large group for a school field trip and the experience was great! The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly and got us through the cavern at a good speed. It was fairly priced and a fun experience to have together. The grounds area for a picnic lunch after was a nice spot for our kids to run freely and they had a blast. The manager Lynn Rae was super kind and quick on replying through our messaging to set up the tour. Thanks Cascade Caverns for hosting us!

our tourist James made jokes throughout the tour and stated very interesting facts. The cave was gorgeous considering this is my first time. James did a bat count with one of the kids, she counted 22 bats

Cascade Caverns is a wonderful place to visit right on the outskirts of San Antonio. The caves have a unique history and are incredibly well preserved despite a century of exploration and tours. The park's GM, Lynnrae Smith, is funny and knowledgeable and really helped make the tour special. It's worth every penny.
We also camped one night at the adjoining park, and it's pretty, spacious and clean, with good services. Staying over at the Caverns was a great way to cap a great day.

Absolutely LOVED our time in Cascade Caverns. Our group of 8 ranged in age from 40 years old to 3 years old and we all had the best time! Our guide was top notch and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this adventure!

We had a wonderful time, they have a great customer service, Mr. James made out experience interesting and fun, my 7yo loved it and kept on making questions to him and he was very friendly all the time. Thank you 😊!

Aaron was an amazing tour guide! He was very informative and made the tour exciting! My son enjoy digging for gems prior to the tour!

An enchanting and unique experience. The gift shop is so charming, and the tour guides are polite as all get out. Our guide, James, was a perfect gentlemen, but kept things fun and relaxed. I've never been much of a geology student, but the flowstone formations were remarkably beautiful.

Emily was a fantastic tour guide! She was very knowledgeable, and was able to point out cave critters and cave formations. My children thought she was just a hoot!
The grounds are old and dilapidated. They definitely need to be refreshed! Things were falling apart everywhere, there was large equipment all over the grounds, so the grounds were not very nice, but the people were! And the cave was very cool! We definitely enjoyed it!

Great tour with Brandon. We saw bats, frogs and salamanders in addition to the beautiful formations in the cave. You can actually see the Balcones fault line in the cave! It was a great thing to do on a hot summer day as the cave is very cool.

We had a great time at Cascade Caverns. I can’t believe I’ve lived near Boerne so long and never have been to this cave. The tour isn’t long, but it isn’t expensive either. Brandon was our tour guide and his jokes landed EVERY time. Thanks for the entertaining tour. We saw bats and salamanders. This is something great to do when you just want to get out of the house and show your kids something cool. Also, I might go back to the gift shop for Christmas gifts because there are some pretty cool things in there.

This was a great tour! Our tour guide, Aaron, made the tour both informational and fun! This tour is kid friendly and isn’t very physically demanding, only but of crouching is required. Once again, Aaron was an awesome tour guide!

Easy rv check in. Stayed 1 night. Caverns were awesome. We plan to use this campground again to visit friends and family.

My family and I had a great time on the cave tour at Cascade Caverns! The customer service, gift shop, and especially our tour guide Rain were fantastic!!

The guide was real knowledgeable and everybody was very friendly however the cave was dimly lit which made it hard to see a lot of the colors and delicate formation it also made it hard to do any photography

Great short drive from our home. Tour Guide was great. Beautiful part of Texas history to share with our Granddaughter.

Smaller cavern, but it was a much more intimate experience than the larger options in the area. Stingray was the funniest and most informative cavern tour guide I have ever had and is the reason I am leaving this review. Good for couples, families, or if your are just visiting solo like me.

Our guide, Stingray, was so fun and very knowledgeable. We loved learning about the history of the cave. The formations were beautiful! We saw several tiny bats, one in flight and the others snoozing, plus a little salamander. Wear shoes with good treads. The cave floors are slippery.

Really good tour guide and neat cave - not the longest cave tour we have been on however. Enjoyed our visit.

Very cool cave. The Emilys are very knowledgeable of the cave system. It is not too touristy. Nice camping area with lots of property and trails. Plenty of deer roaming around. No crowd.

A great experience to see the unique caves of south Texas. A wonderful escape from summer heat. Our guide Eli was friendly, knowledgeable and had a nice sense of humor. We enjoyed his great energy.

Our guide Aaron was very nice and knowledgeable. We saw so many tiny TRI-colored bats throughout the cave (which apparently we chose a good time of year to see), a salamander, and a few frogs! It was better than I anticipated. Would definitely visit again or recommend to a friend.

This was a great activity to do! Aaron, our guide tour, was awesome and hilarious! He made the tour so enjoyable! This was an experience!

We had a blast visiting Cascade Caverns. Hannah was a fun and insightful tour guide. Will recommend!

Totally awesome, StingRay was an amazing guide with funny jokes and great history facts. Definitely worth every penny.

My fiancé and I are from Idaho and came down to see some family! None of us have ever been to Cascade Cavers and I’d definitely recommend anyone to come and get a tour! Our tour guide was Linray (AKA stingray) and he was so informative and hilarious! “Stalactites, stalactites, stalaclights, and stalacpipes!” We also saw a lot of Bruces (some bats) and Sally Manders (salamanders)! All around great tour! Thank you, Stingray!!

Absolutely loved this cave and was shocked that it is not more popular. We arrived and got to go on a tour almost immediately (they run them at the start of each hour) AND we were the only people, so we got to ask as many questions as we wanted/take our time which was great. A young lady named Brianna was our tour guide and was very informative, we learned so much. Favorite parts were when she flicked off all of the lights and seeing the chicken nugget bat!!!! Good for all ages and would strongly recommend requesting Brianna if you want to leave with more info than you walked in with.

James was an awesome tour guide! He was very informative and had a great personality. Went today with my mother in-laws. Nice cave!

My favorite part was seeing the bats because it was so cool seeing the cute little bats I was very fascinated and I learned a lot

Tour started fine, very pretty caves and a fun walk through. Tour guide was awful. Jasper spoke way too fast, and didn’t take the time to let the group gather when giving history and factoid briefs along the way. On the way out a group member touched the water and she freaked out and said THE TOUR IS OVER! I’m not a naturalist but I understand the importance of preserving these kinds of natural beauties. But dude, serious issue of the punishment not fitting the crime, especially considering the lack of perspective of wanting to preserve water purity when 3 feet away from the “natural” springs is 3x 2” PVC pipes going down to 3 water pumps, not including the fake waterfall she turned on in the cathedral room, which utilized rusting pipes. All in all, the tour guide aside it was a good tour, the kids loved it, and I enjoyed it as well, but WOW. If you go, make sure you don’t get stuck with Jasper. Hopefully she takes some people skills training before you go.

Sting Ray was an awesome guide. He was very knowledgable and funny. He made it a great experience that even my son who doesn’t like things like this now wants to see all the other caverns cuz of this great experience. Thank you again string Ray

Emily was our tour guide and we had an awesome time!! This was my sons first cave visit and he was absolutely amazed. Emily took the time to answer all his/ our questions and point out very interesting animals and important facts. She really made our little day trip special. I recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get away for the day or even visiting San Antonio.

Amazing views! Took a tour with Ireland, she was super informative and full of energy. Absolutely breathtaking views throughout each room. A must see in Boerne!

Really nice tour guide named Jessa, they seem to care a lot about the caves and had salamanders and bats that you could observe but not disturb.

This was such a great tour. We loved Stingray as a tour guide. It was very informative and fun! We will definitely be back

Awesome time. Cave was super cool and I loved the bats. Our guide James was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions. Highly recommend!

This was a great experience to celebrate my birthday. The staff was so friendly, informative and helpful. I went to concur my fear of stairs and the tour guide was so patient with me and even cheered for me after the tour. It was a memorable experience that I cherish.

This place was awesome, the cave is cool to be inside of if you like the cold. Overall, an awesome place to go with your friends and family if you're bored and want to go in a cave.

Loved the tour! Stingray was funny and very knowledgeable, definitely made the tour a fun learning experience for everyone.

At the ticket and gift shop I told the two girls behind the counter I wanted to view the cave and they said, “Before you buy a ticket, we must tell you there are 120 steps down to the entrance of the cave, which you will then have to come back up when the tour is done. There is also a section about 20-feet long that is only about four and a half feet tall. The cave is also wet and can be very slippery in some places. Do you still want to go?” I did, and it was worth it. This is not a handicap accessible site.
This is a living cave which means it is still developing. Water is still dripping through the ceiling and adding to various formations. The amazing thing about this place is that Boerne, TX. is 1405 feet above sea level but in the walls of the cave you can find seashells. This cave also has the remains of Mastodons from the ice age, but they are within the walls and can not be excavated because of the status of the cave.
The tour guides are very knowledgeable about the cave and it's inhabitants. If you are in the Texas Hill Country, and like caves, don't miss this one.

First time visiting these caverns. Stingray was an awesome guide and we really enjoyed our visit. He was very knowledgeable and was able to point out several of the bats and even some tadpoles. There were just the 5 of us, so it was a great tour. Made for a great morning.

The tour guide Jess was very entertaining and very informative at the same time. Y'all might want to bring grippy shoes, it's slippery inside

Tour guide Jessica made this visit very educational and enjoyable. Caverns are beautiful. Very fun to have to crouch down ( to avoid hitting our heads) for a stretch of the tour.

Beautiful cavern system! Very natural down below with a kind and helpful staff up top. Can’t recommend enough people see this hidden gem!

The caverns were beautiful! It was our first time here so we weren’t sure what to expect but it was worth it. The tour was about an hour and our tour guide Aaron made the tour even better with all of his knowledge about the cave. And we even saw the cutest bats 🦇

This cave is amazingly beautiful! So under rated in Texas! I’ve lost pics on my FB n my friends want to come right away! Our tour guide Sting Gray was very awesome. He was funny, knowledgeable, and offered to take pics for us as needed. He gave great stories n insights about the cave. I loved this place so much. Will def recommend this tour! Book it and you will not regret it trust me!!!

There were some interesting features that I had not seen in other caves. On the ceiling, some swirly indentations mark the spots where water swirls around when the cave floods. This happens every few years. I brought a jacket because most caves I have been in are cold. Not this one. The temperature was in the 60's but the humidity was high, so I carried my jacket around. Be prepared for 100 steps and a short area where you must crouch down. As we were leaving the cave, we saw a vulture not sure what kind) and a young vulture on the rocks. That's not something you see every day.

The caverns here are very very neat! Our tour guide Melissa was awesome. She made sure we got to see everything and had fun doing it, while keeping it educational. We would say the only nitpick we have was it only lasted 1 hour. We wanted to take soooooo many pictures which we did but not as many as we would have liked is all. The little bats were adorable. The different formations were beautiful. The last room will amaze you, I promise! Neat little gift shop with lots to see. Definitely worth a visit if your passing through like us.

Enjoyed the tour. It did feel rushed at times. They were very up front about the wetness and crouching areas that you encounter at times. It was dark at times, but you do get a flashlight. It is beautifully maintained, and provides a more natural experience than other caves. Would recommend it to anyone!

RV sites are not that level and need new gravel added. Laundry room was closed for repairs half the time we were there. Restroom/ showers need a remodel.

Amazing cave! This is a living cave, has not been overly commercialized, rails only where necessary, and you are inches from the formations! StingRay was our tour guide and kept it fun, and entertaining! These folks are truly glad you are there, felt like family! Great job to StingRay and Cascade Cavern!

The tour was awesome. Our tour guide, Jessica, did an amazing job and was very knowledgeable. This is one of the best caves i’ve been to in Texas. My favorite part was how close you can get to formations and how much you can see due to the low ceiling. Highly recommend this cave to visit!

How the world changed after the flood is amazing. Shown in various caves like this one. What was so interesting to learn, is that the stalagmites and stalactites will form quicker depending on the amount of rain/water from above. I recommend this cave and tour.

No wait line, no reservation, small and locally operated attraction. Great tour guide - Aaron very good with geology and humor. The lights out was awesome. Hope y’all have as much fun as we did.

Amazing experience! Showed up today to a packed building and expected to have to wait over an hour to go on one of the tours due to the crowd and seemingly low staff numbers. To my surprise, we got signed up for a tour right away and only had to wait about 35 minutes to get started which was perfect since we had over five younger children in our group with us that are hard to keep occupied. A young lady named Bree was our tour guide and did a stellar job of keeping the kiddos entertained as well as the adults. Lots of information and cool things to look at. They're still talking about the chicken nugget bats and cave kisses/curses even hours later. Very satisfied and grateful that we got a spot today and had Ms.Bree take us down.

This was amazing. Bri was so fun and informative even my 7, 12, and 13 year old sons enjoyed this. They actually thought it was the coolest thing we did on our entire vacation. Also the gift shop was very affordable and everyone got to pick a couple items to remember the adventure!

Bri (pronounced Bree) led us on a wonderful adventure in the cascade cavern. We had a great time and look forward to returning soon.

Cascade Caverns is amazing! It's a beautiful cavern and the staff is amazing. In a cavern that has a VERY long history, just the history of the cave since its discovery is very fascinating!
Our tour guide, Emily C, was very knowledgeable and made our tour a lot of fun! We will be back!
Note: Compared to some of the extremely commercialized caverns, this cavern is a real pleasure. Instead of a group of 100, expect smaller tour sizes with more interaction with your tour guide. 5 Stars!!

Fun stop on our San Antonio trip. StingRay was a plethora of facts and jokes. Stunning rock formations. Fun family activity.

What a fun morning! We went early to walk the trails then took the cavern tour. Jess was our guide and did a wonderful job. Learned a lot and the cavern was amazing. We took their recommendation and headed to Mary’s for tacos afterward. Delicious.

While vacationing in San Antonio with my sister, we both toured Cascade Cavern and really enjoyed it. Sebastian is a great tour guide and the cave was amazing. The experience is well worth the money!

I recently went to Cascade Caverns in Boerne Texas, and it was Great! The cave had stunning formations, and the waterfall inside was Awesome. Our guide, Stingray (That is what he asked us to call him), was awesome—super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, making the tour both fun and informative. Highly recommend it for a unique experience!

What a pleasant surprise! I've been to several caverns around the country and Cascade Caverns is definitely in my top 2 so far. Pocket was our tour guide, she is very knowledgeable and invites questions. I also admire how Pocket handled the young kids in our group. The cavern tour was a fantastic experience! Thank you, Pocket!

Went with kids and grandkids. Everyone had a great time. Bree was a wonderful guide. Enjoyed the cave, the hiking trails, the picnic area and the rock sluice. Clean restrooms and very nice staff.

Love the caverns and wax out first time there. I liked them small but nice experience. There was a small group which I like too.

Our tour guide Stingray was so informative and fun. Great experience. We really enjoyed learning about the natural beauty of the cavern. We even got to see a salamander and a tri-colored bat. It was hard to pick a favorite part. We loved all of it. Was a nice date day. Thanks Stingray!

We took our two grandkids and we all had a great time. The guide, Bre, was a wealth of information. My wife and I along with our grandkids had an absolutely fantastic time. In addition to the cave adventure, they got to "sluece" for ricks/minerals. They also got geodes and we able to crack them. They are so beautiful. Highly recommend Cascade Caverns to everyone.

Great tour and tour guide. Melissa the singing tour guide has a beautiful voice! The kids loved seeing the salamanders, bats, fossils, and cave formations.

Great Cave! Our tour guide Jessa was informative and patient. Learned about the beautiful formations and history of the cave. A unique experience for anyone interested in nature!

I was able to explore the Cascade Caverns with four other individuals. I think all of us had a magnificent time. Kyle, our guide, performed faultless. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. I will return for another visit.

We had an amazing time at the caverns. We enjoyed our tour guide Jessica. She’s knowledgeable, positive, and a great time! The caverns are absolutely beautiful and full of history

great local texas experience for the whole family!! fun for all. worth doing. spectacular to behold.

We highly recommend visiting the caves. Our tour guide, Kyle, was an absolute gem! He was incredibly informative, energetic, and made the experience truly unforgettable.

Beautiful caverns with several interesting features. Tour guide Pockets was friendly and interactive. Not recommended if you can't do fairly steep steps.

Very interesting tour from our tour guide Raine! It was cool that we were able to see some rare salamanders and tricolor bats.

They are interesting caves, with several beautiful formations. However, of the several caves in the region, I found it the least interesting.
If you really like caves and can visit them all, you can go without fear. But if time is limited, I would recommend prioritizing the others.
One difference compared to the others is that this one is a little less developed than the others. There are lights, there is a paved path, but they are a little more natural than the others.

The tour was lengthy and the cost of admission was more than appropriate. Pocket was a great tour guide and it was fascinating seeing the wildlife and every room in the caverns.

This was a really cool experience. Brandon was a great tour guide and very interactive with my son. Loved the info about the cavern and pointing out some fun formations.

I’ve lived in Boerne for a couple years now, but I never visited this place until now. My sister and nephew were visiting, and we were looking for something that a 12 year old boy would be interested in/entertained by. We took an hour-long tour with Emily as our guide. It was great! Emily is very knowledgeable and funny, and an hour is just the right amount of time for this tour. Definitely recommend. If you’re going to come to Boerne, or if you’re really into caves, you should be sure to come here.

Had a wonderful time visiting Cascade Caverns. The tour was fun and educational. The caverns did not disappoint and we even saw one of the resident bats and several salamanders.

Perfect for family fun and getting out and exploring the wonders of nature. Our guide, Jessa, was excellent. We learned so much, my children have been talking about it nonstop. They loved seeing the bats and interesting formations and waterfall!

Super cool, highly recommend, James is the best and very punny. Looking forward to coming back for the Adventure Tour!

This is a very interesting cave. It is one of the wettest caves I have been in. Jessica our guide did a great job and was able to answer all our questions. She kept the tour upbeat and interesting. It was fun seeing the bats and the fact that she knew all the details on them. History of the cave was interesting as well.

My son and I took the "Downunder" tour and had a blast! Our guide, Brandon, was fantastic. He was very informative and had us both cracking up with jokes and his great sense of humor. The cave itself is very interesting with several pools, dripping soda straws and even a waterfall. We saw bats, cave salamanders, and even a rare appearance of "The King of the Cave" a massive gulf coast toad. Overall, one of the best cave tours I've experienced. It was equal parts a genuinely interesting cave and a great tour guide. 10/10 would visit again!

Aaron was very intelligent, funny, safe and great with the little ones! We were very happy with our tour strongly suggest anyone who hasn't been there make a trip!

What a great tour, Trinity aka Sweet Tea did a fantastic job and we thoroughly enjoyed it!! We highly recommend the tour.

A must stop if you like caves. Plus it's a nice drive. Stingray is the most excellent of your guides.

We took my daughter on a cave tour last year and ever since then she’s been obsessed with caves…so during our trip to San Antonio for Spring Break, we decided to run up to Boerne and hit Cascade Caverns. It was a tremendous tour, the young man that gave the tour was exceptional, very knowledgeable and kept the experience very fun! The cave itself is great, a very cool experience. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a different adventure around your San Antonio trip.

Jessa was great! She led a very informative tour and pointed out things along the way that we wouldn’t have know to look for... bats, formations, fossils... my 10 year old daughter had a blast!

Highly recommend! I went with my sister, whom was visiting from out of state, earlier this week. We had Pocket for our tour guide and she was great! Super fun, knowledgeable, and very personable. We saw several bats, salamanders, and some frogs. This is an active wet cave, so it was very cool to see all of the different formations and hear of the different flooding. I like that this is a more intimate tour, and we weren't bombarded with a ton of people. We got to ask questions and explore. It's off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip compared to other caverns in the area. Thank you so much!

I went for a school trip and it was SO cool. We did a flashlight tour in the evening and got to turn off all our lights in the cathedral room. Seeing the wildlife and learning about the structures was awesome; Brandon was an excellent guide. I'd love to go back again sometime.

The tour guide Jessa was great at her job. Had a great time and learned some new things about the cave and how it originated.

We had a Wonderful time ; our guide, Stingray, was very informative . He was very patient and answered all questions . Highly recommend for everyone to visit there

This was such a cool experience! Our tour guide James was wonderful. He was very engaging and took time to answer any questions we had. He made sure everyone was safe and comfortable before moving on to the next section of the cave. Overall the tour took about 1 hour. Would recommend for anyone looking for a fun outdoorsy activity in Boerne!

Bri was an excellent guide. Perfect place to visit with young children. Bri was very kind and answered their many questions.

We enjoyed all the history of the cave that the tour guide shared with us. She “Sweet Tea” always took the time to share facts about the cave and the bats and salamanders that live there. She guided with a sense of humor that kept you laughing.

I toured last weekend with my son and it was an awesome experience especially with my guide sting ray! My son and I loved it and being a geologist that mineral collect is the finest I’ve seen at a rock shop in Texas. Many of the minerals in the collection are museum quality.

This cave system was absolutely gorgeous!!! My family and I agreed- even though this system was smaller than Natural Bridge, we preferred this one. It’s a more intimate cave, with beautiful scenes, and wildlife!!!
But the best thing was probably our tour guide, “Stingray” - he just made the whole experience!! He was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and he pointed out all the animals that we would have never seen. We really appreciated him!!

This was a fun little adventure with the family. Our tour guide, Brandon, was hilarious and knowledgeable.

We had a great time on this cave tour! Jessa was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and entertaining! She was happy to answer any questions we had. The cave itself is quite different from other caves we've visited. It's a living cave, which means it's still developing and changing. There's water dripping from the ceilings in places and glistening pools of water throughout the cave. We were able to view salamanders in the pools and tiny multicolor bats hanging from the ceiling and walls. The cave formations were beautiful! This tour felt more like a spelunking adventure than just another commercial cave tour! It's not the biggest cavern you'll find, but definitely worth a visit.

This is a beautiful cave with an interesting history. Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. This is a must see of Texas hidden gems.

My boyfriend and I had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgable. We plan on coming back for the lower cavern adventure at a later time.

Emily and Emily aka (Pocket) were entertaining, very nice, and informative. The facility was very clean. 10/10

Awesome place to visit! Very educational and our tour guide Stingray was fantastic.
Definatly one of the top spots to come check out.

Our guide was fantastic! So knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The cave was absolutely stunning!

We are a fan of caves and caverns and have seen to several. This one did not disappoint. Beautiful formations. Easy access. Enjoyed the fact that we toured with a smaller group. Stingray did a great job as your guide.

Had a fun time exploring Cascade Caverns. We had tickets for some other caverns, but ended up here by mistake. (Wasn’t a bad mistake to make.) Luckily we were able to get a refund from the other caverns. The hiking tour lasted about an hour. Stingray was friendly and knowledgeable and threw in some “Dad joke” humor along the way. The hike wasn’t strenuous but there are stairs going in and out of the caverns and some low ceilings. The area looks fairly primitive and isn’t overly commercialized. You do drive through an RV park to get to these caverns, so don’t think you’re mapping system took you on the wrong road. Kids could have fun on this hike and learn about caverns and how they’re formed along the way.

We went on the tour and Hannah was our guide... she was really informative and funny! She pointed out all the bats, salamanders, and told us about all the rocks. If you go, I would definitely ask for Hannah!

Excellent Tour! With the Excellent Tour Guide Brandon!:) Beautiful nature and scenery! Would definitely recommend on a Hot Texas Day! Cool down there!

Had a wonderful tour with Emily through the caverns. Educational and fun. Also did the rock mining. Kids loved that part too. It was not busy and quite peaceful! Took kids from ages 3-16. All of them had a great time!

We visited Cascade Caverns this weekend and it was great! Our first cave visit as a family and the kids loved it. They got to carry little flashlights that were provided and loved that! We found a cascade cavern salamander and got to see some bats, too! Jessica and Jessa were our guides and were very knowledgeable and a lot of fun! Learned a lot, great experience.

What an awesome place! James our tour guide was so funny and informative. Been to other caves this one is a gem in the rough. A must see

It was a great place, naturally beautiful, was relaxing because there was small group and the tour guide Pocket was exceptional in explaining everything in a fun way, highly recommended

Melissa was my tour guide- she is very knowledgeable and if you have have the opportunity to have her as a guide, you will not be disappointed! She sings for you during the tour and has an amazing voice! Highly recommended!

Nice Cave Tour
We toured the cave on a Friday at 2 pm.
Our tour guide, Jasper, was friendly and informative. It's a lovely cave that you walk many steps down into. We say a frog and a bat and many cool formations. I would definitely recommend this tour. Wear old shoes with good grip.

These are the oldest operating caves in Texas. There were some interesting formations but nothing spectacular. Home to the second smallest bats in America. We saw several during the tour.

Was really fun and interesting tour my friend and I had a great time you got to use flashlight throughout the cave and our tour guide Mary was great she was very informative .she made sure we got to see bats and 🐸 this there are about 100 steps in and out and there's a low spot you have to duck to walk through for about 30 feet or little more highly recommended thanks again to our tour guide Mary 🌹

Bree was our tour guide and made the experience fascinating. she knew in depth information about the most random questions the group threw at her surrounding the cave and its wildlife and is clearly passionate about the subject highly recommend.

‘Sweet T’ or Trinity lead a great tour. We have been to several cavern tours and I have to say this one was great. Thanks for having us and answering our questions so thoroughly. Highly recommend

Super experience! Good guide and cozy area around the cave. We took the chance, as it appeared on the web that there were no free times during the day. That was it 😀

Beautiful and twisty drive to get there. Lovely scenery all around. Got there early, unfortunately your party must number 2 or more to qualify. It’s about 63 degrees and very wet. It has bats but they sleep during the day. Great guide. Lots to see and take pictures of. Flashlight provided. Lasts about an hour. There are some VERY low walk areas.

We enjoyed our tour so much. Our youngest loves anything rocks and this was his favorite part of our trip. Our guide was very interactive and made the experience even better.

This place is a hidden treasure and is absolutely worthy of a visit if you have some free time, not to mention it is also a way to get out of the hot Texas sun.
Melisa (tour guide) will make you feel very welcome and make sure that everyone gets to experience the caverns in its full glory. She is eager to answer any questions from any of the guests and goes the extra mile so ensure everyone remains safe.
Cascade Caverns is a must for your bucket list!

Ireland was our cave tour guide and she was so great!
Made the experience more enjoyable and fun.
The cave was very nice! :)

Brandon did a great job with history of the cave and a plethora of Dad jokes. The tour was intimate and very informative.

15 minutes SE of Boerne TX just north of San Antonio, this cave is well worth your time. It is a 100 step but gradual decline into a comfortable 60 degrees. Stingray was a great tour guide, highlighting the history, ecosystem and features of the cave. We saw 2 dormant tiny tri-color bats and 2 active Cascade Cavern salamanders. A mastodon bone projected out of a wall. The Balcones fault line was visible above. The individual flashlights were a great aid. Glad we made the trip and tour.

We stayed a couple of days/nights using the full hookup camp site. Very calm and quiet park. Two Decent hiking trails 3/4 of a mile long. Our cave tour guide, Jessika, was great, informative and knowledgeable and made it fun. We will be back!

Had a great tour with James. Informative, entertaining, and a nice relaxing cave tour. This was the families 5th cave tour in a year -- definitely one of the favorites. Definitely recommend!

My boyfriend, best friend and I went here and it was otherworldly, it was nice and cool in the cavern while it was 100+ above ground. Our guide Brandon made it awesome. He was intelligent and had an amazing attitude.

Jesse our tour guide was very informative. The tour was fun and I felt very safe.
The little bats were so close. I would recommend a visit. Just be sure you are physically able to make the 120 step descend and ascend.

The staff and caven experience were amazing. James was super engaging with children and adults alike. Definitely a great activity.

Our tour guide Jessica was knowledgeable and entertaining. The caves were magnificent. So much to learn and see. Both my 4 year old and my 15 year old enjoyed this experience.

I’m a spelunker from up by Chicago (a member from Windy City Grotto for any of my fellow cavers) and this was definitely one of the best showcaves I’ve been in. I saw more critters in here than some wild caves I’ve explored. Chock full of active formations and that’s not even the best part!
I also just HAVE to mention our tour guide Lin Ray, known as “Stingray” to those who are lucky enough to have him as a tour guide. Knew exactly where to point out all of the critters in the cave and was even able to answer all of my questions! Knowledgeable and absolutely hilarious, this Grade A cave had a Grade A tour guide leading us through.
This cave is “spelunker certified” in my book and Stingray is surely a certified spelunker himself, I’d say.
Stingray, if you ever come visit Chicago, maybe I can give you a wild cave tour with my grotto as another great big thanks from me for showing me even more things I find wonderful about caves.

Had a fantastic time touring the caverns. Our tour guide, Hannah, was amazing! Very entertaining and knowledgeable. Learned a lot from her. Will definitely be back!

First suggestion- call before you go! Apparently there has been a lot of rain lately and the caves tend to flood. We were the first tour within the past week because of flooding. It was my husband and myself and we really enjoyed our guide. He was very informative about the history and cave itself. There are a lot of steps to go down and of course coming out, steps to climb but it wasn’t bad. There is an area in the cave that you have to stoop down to get underneath, but again, only a few yards. I’m claustrophobic and I had no problem in this cave. We even saw 2 very tiny bats on the way out! there are bathrooms available and a nice gift shop.

Our tour guide Bree was very sweet and knowledgeable. We enjoyed every second of the tour. Absolutely beautiful views we look over 100 photos. Highly recommend anyone to go. We will definitely be back with the kids for the lower cave tour.

This was a last minute excursion and we absolutely loved it!! Our guide was amazing and the cavern is gorgeous!! We are already planning our Aquifer trip!

My husband, 15 month old daughter, and myself decided to stop by Cascade Caverns on a Tuesday since we live close by and had the day off of work. We came in at the right time and ended up with a private tour led by James. He was kind, funny, and knowledgeable when it came to the caverns and the surrounding property. We had a great time!

Melisa was great, very knowledgeable and friendly, singing was a nice bonus too! Felt a little short, but was still totally worth it to see such cool part of nature

We had a great tour with James! We loved having a small group so that we could ask questions and have a more interactive experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out tons of details that we would not have seen on our own. He also made it extremely fun for our kids. The best part was the moment of total cave darkness! Great family experience!

Amazing formations in Cavern....very informative tour guide, Trinity aka Sweet T... thanks for a great addition to our family vacay!

FYI: Solo tours are NOT ALLOWED for safety reasons. Therefore, if you’re a solo traveler like myself be prepared to wait. Tours lasts approximately an hour. Make sure you wear closed-toed shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Shout out to Jessa (not Jessica) for being an awesome guide!

This was awesome! We came here because of other reviews and it DID NOT disappoint. Pocket was our tour guide and she killed it. Very knowledgeable. The cave is beautiful, very interesting. Good prices on crystals in gift shop as well. All around, a badass time.

We loved our tour of the caverns. Our tour guide, Kyle, was extremely knowledgeable and had fun jokes throughout the whole tour. He has a great eye and pointed out so many cool features of the cave I never could have found on my own, including a tiny salamander baby. I learned a lot of interesting information and would definitely return again with kids.

Exciting and very interesting cave. Tour was the best. Stingray was our guide. He was very knowledgeable, interesting, informative and kept us entertained. He is one of the reasons for the 5 stars. We all really enjoyed the cave—GREAT place to visit!

Jessica was amazing! We saw baby buzzards before we went in the cave. The cave was beautiful! Saw frogs, tadpoles, bats, and salamanders. The gift shop had so much crystals for good price. Would go again!

The cave tour was absolutely wonderful greatly due to our tour guide, James, being kind and informative! Amazing tour!

We had the best time. The caverns are truly gorgeous. I love that the caverns are so natural - minimal human influence. Bri, our guide, was super knowledgeable and fun. 100% add this to your Boerne visit!

Took the tour of an amazing and beautiful cavern. Our tour guide Brie was fantastic. She had a great personality and was incredibly knowledgeable about everything in and around the cavern. She knew dates, scientific names etc. she had an answer for every question. It turns out she is an ecological researcher working on her doctorate, hence the vast knowledge. Great tour!

The campground at Cascade Caverns had tall grass and the sites were poorly marked. A lot of low hanging tree limbs that could damage your camper roof. I couldn’t find a dump station so I had to dump on one of the vacant full hook up sites.
Avoid this Campground.

The cave was beautiful. Our guide was Stingray and he was awesome. The stairs werent bad and inaide the cave was a cool 68 degrees.

Visited today 9.19 2022. Our tour was a 1pm with a wonderful young lady tour guide. It was great exploring the cavern. Recommend it for anyone visiting Boerne.

Hannah did an amazing job! Thank you! We enjoyed the tour and the history Hannah provided. She was quite knowledgeable.

We really loved visiting these caverns and our tour guide Trinity "Sweet T" was very informative about the caverns and history of the surrounding area. I will definitely recommend this to family members and friends.

It was all great from beginning to end! Our tour guide Brandon was very informative and added humor to the tour. Next time we’re doing “the aquifer“ tour that’s deeper then the basic tour.. my recommendation, if you have a decent flashlight, bring it, also bring a pair of hiking shoes or beaters as it can get wet and muddy… #letsgoBrandon

This was my first cave experience and I am very glad we stopped. There are 100 steps down into the cave and a short section you need to bend in half to fit through, but other than that, it was very easy to explore with lights throughout. I was surprised that we didn’t have to wear hard hats, though. If you can handle the stairs, definitely check this place out!

This was my first cave experience and was absolutely awesome! Our tour guide Sarah was so great with tons of interesting information to share throughout the tour. It was such a wonder to see the beautiful formations and we were able to see bats, the frogs, and salamanders! Was a very very cool experience for me and looking forward to touring more.

Great fun, informative and super cool! We took some friends from out of town to the caverns and had an awesome time. Stingray was our tour guide and was great. He was informative, funny, patient and answered all of our questions. Definitely a super cool experience and one that we will bring others to. Can be enjoyed all year round especially in the summer months to get out of the texas heat.

A biblical timeline fits better if you do the math. The cave can't be120 million years old with the Stalagmites and stalactites growing at a rate of 1 inch per 20 years. The cave would've been sealed off by those structures long before it was discovered.
There is also a Mastodon bone imbedded in a wall 6 feet, according to radar/ sonar technology of some sort. They lived "10,000 years ago". In that same rock are marine fossils from when the cave formed.
But it is a great place to visit and our guide, Dragon Slayer Mary, was great as well.

Nice little place that has a nostalgic vibe and Stingray was a great tour guide! We loved seeing the bats and salamander.

Cascade Caverns is an enjoyable 45-60 minute guided tour of the caverns, wildlife, and history. Once entering the caverns the walk is fairly level and comfortable. Jessica is a terrific tour guide. She is knowledgeable, kind, and personable. This is a great tour for kids and adults alike.

I had such a great "date day" with my husband here! I loved and i mean LOVED how natural this cave felt! Except for the stairs going down...everything else felt so undisturbed and natural. I loved the photo opportunities and found it very full of wonderful history not only up top, but down below. I would highly recommend it! I thought it was very peaceful and our guide James was great! I ended up doing a souvenir buy for my toddler and SHE LOVES her rocks. I also bought myself an adorable bonsai tree from the gift shop. Thank you for such a great time and the laughs! I additionally loved the demonstration of complete darkness and how it feels to be in that for a few minutes.
I also loved they have names for all the little bats tucked into the walls. SO CUTE!

Awesome experience and worth it! Learned a lot from our amazing guide Jessa! The cave was beautiful!

Great family-fiendly activity. Stingray was a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. We'll definitely come back. Watch your head!!

We came to spend the weekend, a little relaxing and hanging out. This place is great, the staff is friendly, camp grounds are clean and well taken care off, and the bathrooms are clean (important to me.) I just planned on camping but with the cavern onsite we couldn’t not take a tour, Stingray did an amazing job and was very knowledgeable. Can’t wait to come back, I would definitely recommend

Went to cascade caverns today. Our trip advisor Jessica was great! We had a great time and plan on coming back for the Group tour!! Thank you Jessica!

SELESTE was our tour guide and she was awesome and so was the cave tour. Saw some bats flying and saw some baby salamanders.I would recommend that it is worth your time and money to go.

We visited last week and had the pleasure of taking a tour with Trinity aka Sweet T she was awesome and knowledgeable about the caverns so it made the tour more enjoyable. It was interesting hearing the history of this cavern it is a must see if you’re visiting Boerne or the surrounding areas

This was definitely an adventure. We took the Downunder Tour. But I must warn you. Its 100 steps down and 100 steps back up. You go 132 feet under the surface of the earth to see these amazing caverns. The stalactites, stalagmites and draperies were breath taking. There were tiny salamanders in a pool of water only unique to this cavern and no where else in the world. There were also tiny bats called "chicken nugget" bats, because they were the size of a chicken nugget. The lights are turned off for a minute so don't go if you are afraid of the dark. Our tour guide Bree was delightful filling our tour with history and humor. I would highly recommend this tour for all you cave lovers. My friend had never been inside a cave, and she was so impressed.

My family and I had a blast visiting the Cascade Caverns, along with our amazing tour guide Pocket. All in all the Cascade Caverns is a fun getaway with the family.

We had a great time on the tour with James. James was really patient and good with the kiddos on our tour. The dinosaur prop was pretty neat too. It was a good activity during covid and I felt safe since everyone was required to wear masks.

This was a fantastic tour!! About an hour long and super duper informative & interesting. Stingray was our guide & was amazing! Any questions you may have he knows the answer to. Beautiful grounds and the cavern was really interesting. The resident buzzard “Anita” was a treat!

What a fun tour! Stingray was our guide, and he was extremely well informed and had a great sense of humor. My husband and I ended up being the only people on the tour and who doesn't love a private cave tour?? Cute gift shop, friendly staff, and amazing caverns!

Loved the salamanders and bats. Jessa was a great tour guide amd was great at pointing out interesting rock features and cute animals.

A beautiful, untouched, natural cave. It is not as big nor tourist-centric as others in the general area and, to me, this makes it a wonderful experience. Lighting is sufficient but it is kept to a minimum to preserve the cave and you are guided through with flashlights which enable you to see anything you want. Our tour guide was Ryan and he is very personable and knowledgeable. Ryan made sure we didn't miss out on a thing! He pointed out all the areas of interest, history of the cave, we found bats sleeping, salamanders, and even a snake while on the walk to the cave. If you are an explorer, check out this cave experience.

Great little tour; fascinating history. Learned some great history about cave development. Rain was an excellent tour guide!

Well worth the price of admission. Went with the wife and it exceeded our expectations. We have never been in any cave and this was definitely a good time. Our guide was Jessa and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only negative if there is one would be that the elderly and maybe people that cant duck to far would be unable to go in the caverns as there are a few parts where you need to hunch over or almost do a duck walk to go down further, and there are about 120 steps to get down there but they say this before you purchase tickets, but other than that, it is open to everyone able. GREAT TIME!

My husband and I are visiting from California and this tour was absolutely astounding! Our tour guide Melisa was very knowledgeable and incredibly nice. The cavern itself it stunning and we got a lot of really amazing pictures!! Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone in or visiting Texas!

Hannah did a great job with the tour! She's intelligent and engaging with everyone. She was able to talk to us about there amazing rock collection they have in the store. Clean facility and very intimate setting! We saw many bats and salamanders. Great staff and amazing caves!

Jessica was our tour guide and taught us about the cave’s formation, different mineral components & animals within the caves. She was engaging, knowledgeable and very funny. This experience was an absolute treat and my friends & I are looking forward to returning & exploring the 2nd level!

We were a special needs group visiting the cave and were so lucky to have “sting ray” as our guide. Not only was he kind patient and calm, he was incredibly funny and witty. We had such an amazing experience at this cave, I highly recommend!!!!!
Thank you Cascade Caverns and “Sting Ray”!!!!

Highly recommend! Super informative and very interesting!
James was our Tour guide! Will definitely be sharing our experience with family and friends.

Loved seeing this local phenomenon. The Cavern is very interesting, our guide, Brandon, was engaging and provided us with so many details. Got to see bats, the cascade salamanders and beautiful geological features. I’m a resident of Boerne and so happy we went!

Very reasonable price Need some improvement. But overall not bad. Nature at its best. They have a campground if tou have an RV

A must see! Jessica and Hunter were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the caverns were stunning! Such a great time for couples, families, etc.

This is our second time we toured this cave in the past 3 years. We like it better than the other cave. This time, our tour guide was Emily. She was the best guide one could have. She gave us excellent details on the cave, answered all of our questions, warned us about the slippery spots, and warned us about bumping our heads. The best part was when she turned out the cave lights to allow us to experience total darkness. Emily also told us repeatedly during the tour not to touch the cave walls and not to shine the flashlights at the cave critters. She even showed us an example of a dead spot in a cave formation where over the years people have touched (this was before they knew about the damage from human contact). The spot was blackened. She warned us over and over not to touch the cave walls. So, if you read some negative reviews about this issue just keep in mind the tour guides will warn you. For us, the price paid was worth the experience. Just be warned, there are steps and you need to come back up those same steps. It wasn't bad for my wife and I and we're in our 60's. It was a fun experience.

Stingray was an awesome tour guide! Highly recommend visiting here! The cavern is beautiful, and the descent is not too challenging.

Melisa was our tour guide and she was awesome! Very knowledgeable and had a voice of an angel... definitely a good tour for kids and adults

We decided to swing by and tour the caverns on our trip to Boerne. We really enjoyed the tour and Jessica did a great job. I'm glad we went. Always amazing to see nature at work.

I guess it's a thing now to visit caves in Texas. Mr. Kyle did a good job with the tour. Especially talking about the history.

Nice cool way to beat the heat. We enjoyed seeing some tri-colored bats and getting out of the heat for an hour. Tour guide was engaging as well.

Rain was a great guide. Very informative and funny, which makes for a fun adventure! Thank you so much for giving us a wonderful memory!

This is a fun side trip near Boerne. You are guided underground and into the cavern. Some interesting cave features. Our guide was Brandon, he was friendly and gave us historical details as well as pointed out interesting structures in the cave.

We had an absolutely great time on the tour with Mary aka Dragon Slayer. She was very informative and entertaining. I've been to many caves throughout the US and while others are prettier this one has a lot of unique features the others do not have. I really enjoyed seeing the tiny bats resting along the cave walls and seeing the water line from the last major flood was eye opening. I definitely recommend a tour through this cavern and we will be back....

The cave tour was easy and very informative Jasper was an amazing tour guide and showed us as many cute cave friends as they could find. Our 3 year old and 12 year old learned so much and had so much fun.

Always amazed when I see the beauty of Cascade Caverns. Pocket, our guide, is super knowledgeable and gave us a highly informative and interesting tour.

The cave might not be as flashy as some of the others in the area but this s still one of the coolest caves I have seen. There is a lot of wildlife in the cave, but it is safe and none of it will hurt you. I saw cave salamanders, axolotls, and tiny bats that were in torpor.

Eli was a very knowledgeable and accommodating guide. He explained what we were seeing and answered all our questions and had a good sense of humour.
The caverns were very interesting to experience

This was a fun cave to tour - most definitely the wettest cave we have ever been in. It is nice & cool - 60 degrees. When they say you have to crouch down they mean it. I had a panic attack in that one area where you crouch & walk. Our tour guide was good but it felt like he rushed through it compared to other caves we've visited.

Tour guide, Hannah, was informative, friendly and energetic. Cave was easy to navigate although could be challenging for someone with age or health concerns. The outbuildings are worn and tired. Could use some sprucing to make the entire experience more comfortable.

Visited Cascade Caverns on a hot July day with my two teenage children (18 & 16). Don't let the slightly run down facilities (though the restrooms were spotless) fool you- the caverns are wonderful and well worth the time (about 1 hr tour) and money. Stingray was our guide- clever, pleasant, and clearly loves his job. On a hot summer day, the coolness (63 degrees) of the cavern nearly makes it worth it alone, but the bats, formations, pools, etc. are incredible. Wonders of mother nature at her best!

Great tour! Affordable, fun, interesting, and a super funny tour guide named James. I highly recommend if you’re in the area.

A COOL place to escape heat for an afternoon. Absolutely beautiful and amazing. Our guide Alex was knowledgeable and did a good job. We highly recommend

Loved the trip to the cave! The cave is a ton of fun for adults and kiddos! The tour guides are fun and knowledgeable (big shout out to alex!) And the facilities and gift shop are great.
I put off going here for a long time and recommend it to anyone in the area! Its a break from the heat for sure! Bring shoes you don't mind getting a little muddy or a little wet

This cave is a little smaller than some of the others I have been to, however, it was still amazing to see. Some people may think that if you clean one cavern you clean them all but that has not been the case. Need to come up with his own history and features. Emily did a great job of telling us all of the details regarding Cascade Caverns And gave plenty of opportunity for people to ask questions.

Loved the tour! Sweet T was our tour guide and it was so cool! She explained everything and was also funny! Great experience

The tour guide made the trip!!! He was so fun and informative and we couldn’t have had a nicer time!!!

Beautiful cave! Great tour and awesome tour guide, Jessa! Highly recommend, it's a wonderful thing to do in Boerne.

Hannah was a great tour guide! Found it to be super informative and enjoyable! But one does need to be able to walk and climb at least 100 stairs and be able to crouch at times.

The caverns are beautiful! There is a lot to see and learn about. Our tour guide Celeste was awesome! She made the your entraining and educational! You should go if you can!

Ask Jessica - she's informative! What a great way to spend a hot day in July or any other time. Spectacular visuals and the staff are great, even got to see interesting creatures in their natural habitat.

Stingray was an awesome guide!!! He was very knowledgeable explaining all the amazing formations. Cavern was beautiful with cool lighting. Stingray was also funny and entertaining. We even got to see a local bat close up named Bruce Wayne!
Highly recommend!!!!

Our tour guide Jessa was awesome!! She showed some salamanders and bats. Kept the group really entertained.

Limestone caves 3 miles south of Bourne, Texas. Little over a mile in length and 130 feet deep. The guide was very informative with history, floods, rock formations and it has a small water fall in the cathedral room. My rating was a comparison to other caves we’ve been in.

Emily gave us a wonderful tour of the caverns. She explained, in detail, the history of the caverns, and did so in a way that made it very interesting. I'm looking forward to going back again with more friends & family, so they too can experience this natural wonder!

We had an absolutely amazing time!!! We brought out 4 grandkids & they just loved it! Brandon was our guide & he really made the experience fantastic! He was soooo good with kids, which caused them to ask some really great questions! They gave the kids flashlights which really helped when Brandon was pointing out different things inside the cave…we highly recommend this tour for everyone including grade school children…!

I loved how under developed the route you take during the tour is. You feel like you're actually exploring a cave and not just on another tour. This is one of the few cavern tours I've been on where you see the occasional bat flying around or salamander swimming through the pools. Our tour guide Jessa was very knowledgeable and was excellent in handling all the kids questions no matter how off the wall they were. I would absolutely recommend this tour!

This was so fun and a great price! Mr. Kyle was phenomenal and made the whole experience for our family—he was so interactive with our talkative, inquisitive kids. The caverns were beautiful!

Overall the experience was super fun! Great for the whole family, although I would advice against taking little kids, due to the nature of wet cave. Our tour guide “Stingray” was super fun. He was very knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor that everyone could appreciate. The cave itself was not massive, but big enough to enjoy. The cave ends at “The Cathedral”, a massive open section of the cave with water in the center. Super fun and I highly recommend if you’re looking for something to do in the Hill Country.

James was a great tour guide - knowledgeable and fun. Definitely worth the visit. We would go again if we’re back in the area.

Jessica was an amazing tour guide! Extremely knowledgable, was patient and answered all of our questions and has a great engaging personality.

Found this little treasure as many other locations were closed. The small tour sizes allowed our guide, Melissa, to answer questions and show her knowledge of the cave rock formations and wildlife. At the end of the cave, Melissa and another from our tour sang Amazing Grace to showcase the acoustics and a small historical piece of the caverns making the experience one of a kind.

Meli K was our tour guide. That girl was amazing! She was very funny and highly informative. I brought my wife, 3 kids, and their cousin, all from Fort Worth to see the caverns and San Antonio. All of them said by far the caves were the best part of the trip.

This was an excellent tour led by Jessica. She gave some interesting historical information as well as short and understandable scientific explanations about the cave. The views inside were amazing to see the active formations of a real living cave. We saw some bats (hibernating) and salamanders. All of the areas of the cavern were accessible by waking and there were just a few areas where adults (and some children) needed to crouch, but no crawling was necessary.

I recently visited cascade caverns. My tour guides name was stingray I was so pleased to have him he made everything so clear and informative when ever you go I would without a doubt try and go with stingray. Also I visited the gift shop I found out there incredible rock collection I was so amazed at the different size and shapes of all the rocks it’s definitely the place to go if you are looking for a specific rock or crystal. They have them all!

What a great informative experience I had at the Cascade Cavern! The tour lasted about an hour. We learned a lot on the tour. I like the fact that a mask was required so everyone could remain safe. Jessa was our tour guide, she did a great job. She was very friendly and she answered all of our questions.
Awesome!
My family and I had a lot of fun! Definitely worth the experience! Our guide Jessica was amazing, very knowledgeable, and made us feel very welcomed and safe!
