Mediocre museum and over-priced…it took about 15 minutes to view it all..a better option is Imagine Museum-and the cost is only $15 and you will see triple the incredible glass artistry!!

Love Chihuly glass. Took about 30 to 45 minutes to go through and enjoy including a 20 minute video. Beautiful art glass. Would recommend it highly. Went in late afternoon and then enjoyed a meal in downtown St Pete

This is the second time I have been to the Dale Chihuly Museum in St. Petersburg. My husband and a good friend accompanied me this time and, were totally blown away by the beauty and uniqueness of the displays. We spent almost an hour watching the movie presentation and were pleasantly entertained by the showmanship and camaraderie of Dale Chihuly and the many people who assist with the making and presentations of the glasswork displays. Highly recommend!

This is a truly unique place to visit. Our only regret was that we didn’t have enough time to go to the glass blowing demonstration across the street.

Wonderful unique colorful glass works of art. Beautiful pieces. Nice little gift shop. Wish there were more items. Went across street to a lab to see glass blowing demo. This was awesome and well done by the two people there. Learned a lot in a short time.

Words barely describe the artistic genius of Dale Chihuly. You just need to go there and see for yourself. It's worth more than the price of admission for art that you'll never see anywhere else. He's in a class by himself.
On a side note... I drive a 25' motor coach and there's plenty of free on-street (parallel) parking within easy walking distance.

Very lovely and beautiful! Only wish it was a bit bigger. I would have loved to see even more! 1-1.5 hours is plenty.

The glass sculptures were amazing! I highly recommend going to the Morean glass shop first to see a live glass blowing presentation then go to Chihuly. Great day.

I knew that I would be impressed by the Chihuly exhibit. I didn't expect to turn a corner and literally have a breathtaking experience. Tears actually welled up in my eyes at the sheer beauty. Do yourself a favor and visit. You won't be disappointed.

Very small museum. Watch the short film on how he creates his glass pieces. Beautiful sculptures of all sizes. Photography is ok. Overpriced.

We went into this not sure what to expect and were blown away by the beauty! It even impressed my 12 year old nephew. It’s just a magical exhibit. You only need an hour or two to be mesmerized.

This Chihuly collection of large and small outstanding glass pieces demonstrates the artistic creativity of Dale Chihuly and his expertise in making one of a kind pieces. There were so many glass pieces from chandeliers to jewelry pieces that are one of a kind to see that it’s hard to leave. We attended the glass blowing demonstration where two artists spent half an hour creating a piece from start to finish. This was definitely the highlight of our visit

I am a fan of Mr Chihuly and I loved this exhibit. Not a large display but a nice selection of his work. There is a short documentary about his life and work which was very interesting. A must see in St Petersburg.

A visit to the Chihuly is a visit into a beautiful world of artistry and sublime imagination. While the experience is unique to each person, for me, it was enlightening and a transcendental experience. The creativity and expertise is unbelievable and the impact upon the viewer is hard to put into words. Please go and soak it in for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

This museum has beautiful and colorful glass displays. If I wouldn't have visited the Chihuly glass museum in Seattle, I wouldn't have been disappointed at how small this one was. But nonetheless, the artwork was fabulous and worth seeing. The admission price is a little high but it also includes a glassblowing demonstration which was very interesting. Very nice gift shop in the glassblowing building with many beautiful pieces for sale by various artists.

It just feels great to see all these beautiful pieces. And the set-up/design/organization is superb. It's a fun experience.

Loved the art pieces, but the museum is really small, I was a bit dissapointed I wanted to keep looking at his art but it was over 20 minutes after we started. So, I liked it but if you are on a budget maybe you should skip it since the ticket is US$20 and can be pricey if you have a big group.

Like visiting a botanical garden, except the 'gardens' are man made art. It was within walking distance of many restaurants as well as our hotel (the Hollander, which was awesome), and including a free observation of glass blowing by artisans nearby.

There were only Few collections of glass artwork for a payment of $20/adult and $15/student.. we thought that we will see plenty of arts since the bldg was 3 floors.. but the collection was only 1 floor.. and we finished the whole museum in 30 mins ! ( pictures and reading it all) We were suprised that after we watched a short film (on how chihuly makes these beautiful pieces ) .. no more artwork!
Thats how few they have! We were dissapointed of this museum because how much they’ve asked for admission fees for a small collection. We felt we have been robbed both money and excitement!
However all the pieces were breathtaking.
I am not recommending this because of the Admission fees ..there are others like Dali musuem I think will be worth a visit and money.

We were visiting other sites in downtown St. Petersburg and learned of this exhibit. The exhibits of the Chihuly Collection are nothing short of amazing. It boggles my mind at the time required just to create one of these artworks, much less the creative mind that is required just to design such a creation.
This was thoroughly enjoyable.

Shapes, colors, variety, drama, beauty
The admission price of $18 per senior was money well spent.
What an awesome display of Dale Chihuly's talent enhanced by dream picture taking opportunities. Unforgettable and unique
A pleasant young man...Ashton...just inside the entrance, was informative, helpful and up-beat. After our self guided 'tour' thru this amazing collection we ended at the gift shop. Dale Chihuly's pieces are quite spendy but we did buy a piece that was on display from a local artist. Again...Ashton was pleasant and helpful with our transaction.

Fabulous collection. I recommend watching the video which is to the left of the check in desk before viewing the collection. It is long, but really helps you understand the artists who worked on what you will be seeing and how these magnificent pieces came to life. Must be seen in person to appreciate the photos!

We were able to get a free parking spot about two blocks away. The exhibit isn't huge, but I am a Chihuly fan having seen his work in Seattle, at Biltmore Estate, and in the Bellagio (Las Vegas).

Love Chihuly glass, so this was a must see while in the area. Small collection, but always impressive. Not as good as the Seattle museum, but a chance to see some great glass art.

The are some glass works of art here that stagger the imagination! The cost is a bit high, but we were fascinated with the size and beauty of these pieces. Every room has a new wonderful surprise. This Gallery is well worth visiting.

Dale Chihuly's work is astounding ! The colors and texture of the glass are hard to comprehend. Each piece has incredible character.

Disappointed. I have seen his exhibits in multiple places and they were gorgeous. While his pieces are beautiful, there were so few of them, you were through the museum in less than an hour and that was with watching a 20 minute film, which I recommend. Gift shop was disappointing as well, especially for the price.

We paid $46 for one parent and two teens to tour and the entire experience lasted under 10 minutes. The building is large but the tour very short. Extremely disappointing after visiting Chihuly museum in Seattle. They offer that their tickets include admission to the glass blowing and modern art museums close by but those of those are free to enter. I don’t understand how this place has such high reviews from others. We laughed at what a waste of money it was considering how short the tour was.

Great location, easy parking. Very small. I paid my $18 senior fee at 11 am, read every written notation, looked at every piece, took pictures, and was done before 11:30. The best part, which took the longest time, was the film documentaries about Chihuly and his work.

The exhibit was very well done it takes about an hour to an hour and a 1/2 to view the entire exhibit but it is worth it the glass blowing exhibition was also very good

The exhibit was smaller than I thought it would be, but the examples were outstanding. The row boat full of glass balls was stunning, and the "garden" of glass was beautiful. I thought it was a lot of $$ for the size, but visually it was a very beautiful collection of displays by this famed artist. We did enjoy the video about Chihuly toward the end of the exhibit.

Wherever in the world we have seen his work has been breathtaking.Same emotions in this excellent museum.A must see.

This collection showcases the works and life story of Dale Chihuly, the glassblower artist entrepreneur. Originally housed in another location in DTSP (Downtown St Pete), this location is a huge upgrade to this expanded location. The photo display of Chihuly's timeline is brief but includes all pertinent facts. The movie offers another layer of information.
The glass works and some of the related artworks are on display. They also highlight another artist, in this case, Akiko Kotani and the works called BURST.
Enjoy the beautiful glass pieces, small and large, abstract and concrete items, like a variety of plant shapes. I have seen Chihuly works on display in Las Vegas and in Arizona Botanical Garden, which are compelling but this St Pete collection is awesome.
Wheel chair access restroom with grab bars
Wheel chair access pay by app street parking. Some free spots are available with 2 hour free.

An amazing collection of the variety of work produced and designed by Dale Chihuly. He stills oversees the working of the glass objects and designs and the putting together of the displays. The colors are vibrant and eye catching. I loved the chandlier made from "left over" pieces of glass that had been reworked and mounted. The colors are fantastic and the light shining through it makes it seem to glow from within!

An amazing collection of glass sculptures by Chihuly, representing various phases of his work. Thoroughly enjoyable! The video at the entrance to the collection was very good, as was the self-guided tour on our phones. Note: we were there on a Tuesday and so missed the opportunity to see a glass blowing demo, which would have been cool.

I loved the use of colors. The intricacy of his works is amazing. This should be a must-see while in St. Petersburg.

Well worth the price of admission. This man’s glass art is unbelievable. Don’t miss the glass blowing demo, across the street.

Doesn’t matter what age you are- this is an incredible experience. We’ve taken adult children and teen grandkids and each person had a different, yet positive take. The museum works closely with a glass shop and glass blowing demonstration studio across the street. Two for the price of one while supporting both international and local art!! My one teen grandchild said that she spotted a Chihuly piece in a ballroom near her town!!

A visit to the The Chihuly Collection has long been on my bucket list. Happy to have finally cross it off! We went on a Saturday morning in February. It was wonderful to see so much Chihuly under one roof! There were many familiar scenes...Float Boat, Persian Ceiling, Chandeliers, Persian Wall, Macchia, and more, but I never tire of seeing the explosion of colors in Chihuly's work. We were able to leisurely stroll through the museum, taking our time with each piece, walking around to see it from all angles, or enjoying the small works one at a time.

This was quite a visual pleasure. We recommend this stop for your visual pleasure...Take your camera and take your memories away that will make you smile forever

Our trip to the Chihuly Collection was a highlight of spring break beach trip. While the collection isn’t huge, it is absolutely breathtaking. Combined with the fascinating video and mesmerizing glass-blowing demonstration at the Morean Glass Studio across the street (included in the ticket price), it was a wonderful morning of art at a very affordable price compared to other museums.

This is a stunning exhibition. We have admired the artists work in outdoor settings at the Meier Gardens in Michigan. To see this just intensifies our love for his brilliance. Do not miss the movie. It really gives a global perspective of the artist. His pallet is the world. Love this and will come back every time we are in St. Petersburg, Fl.

Absolutely beautiful & breathtaking. I've admired Chillhuley 's work from afar, for years. I'm so happy to have made the 7 hr drive to see the museum AN the Van Gough exhibit.

We visited the Chihuly Collection in St. Petersburg. While much smaller than the main Seattle museum, this was still a great place to see Dale Chihuly’s glass art. We enjoyed the exhibits and the glass blowing demonstration that was also included. Even with the pandemic, this was a great place to visit.

One of our favorite tings about downtown St Pete is all of the art museums. The Chihuly Collection fits right in.
Funky, beautiful, interesting. The exhibit is so well done, it’s hard to stay disciplined enough to study one stunning display because of the intrigue you know awaits around the next corner. It is so well done.
And the art? Well, what can I say! It is truly amazing. How did he do that?
While you shop, dine and cocktail in this hip little neighborhood - sliding in this mesmerizing display for 30 min will give you lots to talk about at your next lunch or happy hour.
They are requesting patrons wear masks. Grab that one in your car before you go.

If you love Chihuly art glass you will be in heaven!!! This is one of the most beautiful art museums you will ever visit. No only is the glass colorful and beautifully arranged it's in a very spacious area.
I highly recommend this to ANY art lover!

Very beautiful! We visited during the Covid-19 and we were the only ones there, so we could enjoy the art without worrying about social distancing. It's worth to scan the QR code and get the guided tour.

I loved the collection and would visit again. The package with the glass blowing demonstration was excellent. Very interesting and beautiful.

Have seen several Chihuly exhibits in Seattle/Tacoma and other places and love his work. This collection is not to be missed if you are a fan of his work. Very impressive layout that is full of surprises as one goes around the corners from one gallery to the next. Not too large of a museum but just the right size to see the entire collection.

I visited the Chihuly museum in Seattle last year and really enjoyed it, so decided to check this one out too. If you have visited the one in Seattle, this one had very similar artwork on display, was a little smaller, but was much less crowded (I was the only person there). They also have a neat video where you can watch some really cool glass pieces being made by Chihuly and his team. They also offer glass blowing demonstrations, but I was not there at the right time for that, so check the times if you are interested in those. Highly recommended!

Bucket list.
We were in St. Petersburg for four days to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. I have been fascinated with Dale Chihuly for some time and since we will not get to Seattle to see his premier work, I was excited to learn about the first installation of his work in a building designed for that purpose. Chihuly is a pioneer in the studio glass movement and leads in the development of complex structures and environmental art.
While the display is smaller, the pieces are nonetheless impressive. Several chandeliers grace the ceiling of the building and range in size from 3-30 feet in length and are made up to 1,000 elements of glass including one of the most famous, "Iconic Ruby Red Icicle." One walkway features many pieces in the ceiling making you want to lie down and gaze up at the beauty. Glass-related gifts, books and other items are available in the gift shop. The entire collection can be appreciated in less than an hour.
We did not find any discounts or coupons for entry and paid $18 each for the senior rate. However, admission covers entry to the Morean Arts Center directly across the street for glass blowing demonstrations on the hour. This is a must to see how a hot, sweaty tricky trade that requires intense concentration and timing results in beautiful glass art.
Viewers sit on bleachers in a covered area at the back of the center. The glass blower and fellow worker we saw have been blowing glass for 10 years. One of the glass blowers lived in Venice for a few years and studied in Murano.
The furnace temperatures range from 1,000 to 2,000 degrees F. Many steps are required to create one of the scalloped pieces similar to those we saw in the collection. It takes 24 hours for the final pieces to cool in the coolers in the demo area. One of the trickiest parts is separating the glass from the rod which the pair did with finesse and success. We watched as the piece was widened and color added to the rim. The demonstration lasts about 35 minutes.
Friends have mentioned seeing his work in Milwaukee and Madison, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Columbus, OH, Nashville and at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC.

This was one of the most fabulous exhibits of glass I have ever seen. It is good for all ages and I sat and watched 2 of the 3 movies that showed everything about how it's done it was fascinating. There's a great little gift shop right there too and the restaurants around the area are spectacular not to mention it's near the beach. Please put this place at the top of your list to visit.

Don’t miss this spectacular exhibit of one of the most remarkable glass artists of our time! The art objects are masterfully arranged and highlighted allowing you to enjoy one piece or arrangement at a time. The ticket also includes the admission to a glass blowing demonstration in an art studio around the corner. One suggestion: make sure you come to the Chihuly Collection no later than at 3 pm to allow plenty of time to view the exhibition and also be on time to view the last glass blowing demonstration of the day which starts at 4 pm. There are no demonstrations on Mondays, so if you miss it at the time of your visit to the Chihuly collection, you can still come watch it with the same tickets during the next 30 days.

The enormity of his pieces is so impressive. It is both unique and beautiful. I have seen other installations in Las Vegas and London. Awe inspiring!

I have been wanting to go to this museum for awhile and was not disappointed. The only regret is that there should be more. The film showing his history was wonderful and then we went around the corner for a glass blowing demo. GREAT

A visit to the Chihuly collection is worth the trip while in town. The only reason that it's four starts instead of five is that I've seen the larger exhibition in New York so I'm a bit spoiled. Still, the depth, style and color is stunning. It's also across from the Morean Glass Studio which is worth a visit.

Seems like Chihuly really gets around. This was a rather small collection for a fairly hefty entrance fee. It’s a good thing that we like Chihuly.

Beautiful pieces…wish there were more. Nice video inside. Glass blowing demo included in price of admission.

There are things you will love about this experience and things that may disappoint you. I had seen the exhibit several years ago when it was in a much smaller location. Now it’s in a large building, and I thought I was going to see a lot more works. No. It’s still a pretty small collection. Everything is on the first floor, and there are really only a few galleries and a gift shop. The pieces are jaw-dropping. You see chandeliers, bowls, pieces inspired by the sea, a glass ceiling, and gardens of glass; but you will wish there was more, especially since the tickets are not cheap ($17.95 for seniors). Off the gift shop, you can watch a movie chronicling Chihuly’s career. It’s long, and we couldn’t stay for all of it. The narrator made the point that Chihuly was very innovative in his techniques—building up installations bit by bit or layers of color. And the artist also speaks about his work. But I was surprised to discover that his pieces are produced by a team of guys who do the actual labor. As I watched, I wondered how they like getting no recognition when people gawk at the artist’s work. We were able to get a metered parking space on the street near the museum.

I enjoyed seeing the Chihuly collection but I was disappointed that there was not more. I've seen as much in Vegas.

I have been to the Chiluly exhibit in Seattle so I was anxious to see more of his work. The film explained Chiluly’s inspiration for each of his periods so I would recommend seeing the film then the exhibit. We ended up seeing the film last and then going backwards through the exhibit to put in the context. Just wish there had been a bit more of displays to see. I really enjoyed what was presented.

Stopped by here on a Friday morning. Not busy, free street parking. 1st stop on our CityPass Tampa Bay tickets. Interesting collection with film history of artist. Across the street art museum included with tour. Glass blowing demonstration but didn’t have time to partake. Would recommend to everyone.

I had never heard of Chihuly glass prior to my visit to St. Petersburg. My cousin wanted to go so off we went. I found the collection to be beautiful and amazing. The price to visit this limited collection was high. I think there were five rooms that had exhibits in them. I think we were there for less than a half hour, Lovely but the price would keep me from returning or recommending to others.

Kinda cool but $20 for something you can see in 30 minutes to an hour. We liked it but thought it a bit pricey

First thought it was overpriced for what it was . Nothing really to speak of for sale and what was there was very overpriced. Not very friendly when asked questions and info . Was sent across the street to see a glass blowing show . That was interesting but again not what we were looking for. Bottom line a bit of a RIP Off.

We love Chihuly glass creations and have seen displays in our local museum. Please do not mistake this for a museum. It is just a few rooms with a couple of creations. It might take you 10-15 minutes to view…certainly not worth the museum level entrance fee. While what we saw was beautiful, it was not worth the travel. Perhaps add more to the display or be honest in advertising that this is just a small taste of what this amazing artist has produced.

Wear your mask and walk and enjoy the beauty of this fine art! The colors are vibrant, designs stunning and the artist genius!

Chihuly’s art and glass works are superbly displayed and the video of him and showing his creative process was outstanding. I would definitely go again.

Always pleased to have such fine art come to our area. This is a must see. Enjoyable for young and old.

The free added glass blowing demonstrations adds to the appreciation of the hard work associated with doing simple creations. When one then considers the tremendous genius and creativity associated with one of chihuli’s monstrous projects, one is overwhelmed. Excellent exhibit but too short.

Absolutely gorgeous glass sculptures with helpful explanations about Chihuly and his art. The museum ticket also gives you entry to a nearby glassblowing demonstration which is very interesting. The only negative is that the $20 charge is a little high for a museum that will really only take you 20-30 minutes to go through.

I have been there twice and will more than likley go again. They rotate the collection so there is always something new to see.

Beautiful pieces of glass art! I must do if your Chihuly fan or just love glass work! My husband I had a really nice visit and enjoyed this Museum!

Small intimate museum/gift shop. Glass sculptures are gorgeous. Also , stop to see the movie which describes Chihuly’s art in Seattle and Jerusalem. Go across the street to the Morean Arts Center to see the glassblowing demonstration and visit the gift shop for sure. A very pleasant afternoon outing!

We loved our visit to Chihuly Collection and highly recommend visiting it. My only issue is the $20 entrance fee and the small amount that is there for viewing in the collection. I wanted to see more. Be sure and take in the video at the end, it is very interesting......we had hoped to go down the street to see the glass blowing demonstration but we would have had to wait 2 1/2 hours for it to begin. Also we walked down to the studio and it said it should be open, there were no signs saying it was closed, but it was.
The pieces in the collection are stunningly beautiful.

Go early for a seat at the glass blowing demo. We got there 10 minutes before it started and it was standing room only and hard to see

I love Chihuly art and the collection at St. Pete did not disappoint at all. Gorgeous forms and colors, make you wonder at the talent of this artist. You also see sketches that Chihuly made before he embarked on creating some pieces. Gives you a brief insight into his creative process. Admission to the museum also gives you access to a glass blowing demo across the street. While these youngsters might not be Chihuly, the demo let me know how difficult it is to create even a simple piece.

The place takes about 1 hr to go through. Parking is free on the 3rd floor, next to the Publix. Amazing art, but small place. They take student discount. Good informative video about the artist. They also offer a viewing on how they blow glass

Definitely worth the price and time!! We had read a few reviews about the Chihuly Collection indicating that it was too expensive for the size of the exhibit and that it only took about 30 minutes to see the whole thing so we weren’t sure what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised. This is an excellent collection of Chihuly glass art and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The part I enjoyed the most was the documentary film they had running detailing the exhibit Chihuly did in Jerusalem several years ago which was about 45 minutes long. Don’t miss it on your visit!

Beautiful collection of Chihuly glass works from various eras of his work, including sea-art bowls, chandeliers, floaters, Venetian style glass and more. Don’t miss the film, an amazing overview of his style and exhibition attractions ... will glass-blow your mind! 🙂

I love this museum !! Reasonably priced and such beautiful pieces. I highly recommend taking the time for this museum… especially if you are a Chihuly fan.. Not enough books in the gift shop… and would love some Ts…

Some really interesting and unique Chihuly pieces, but the scope and quantity of works was somewhat of a disappointment. Visitors can get really close to Chihuly pieces which seems rare and even risky, but also elevates the experience. As others have noted, the movie was interesting and informative. However, I recall more awe inspiring pieces on display when one of his traveling exhibits was at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts in the mid-1980s. Certainly worth a visit but I wouldn't consider this to be the most preeminent or comprehensive collection of his works.

This is a cozy museum, few rooms only. Nevertheless, it gives an idea about a very talented glass creator.

Chihuly is my favorite glass artist for large scale installations. Enjoyed the local glassblowing demonstration. There are 2 other buildings besides Chihuly’s museum that are covered by one price. I didn’t have time to take in the other glass building and the pottery building.

This exhibit is an amazing sensory experience. The light makes the glass colors and shapes pop. Around each corner was another marvel. Strongly recommend spending time watching the movie of Chihuly narrating how he works and thinks. It was a surprise to learn that the installations are very much a team effort. Finally, strongly recommend walking across the street to watch the glass blowing demonstration.

I didn’t know glass could be so intricate and beautiful! I only wish there would have been more pieces to see. Can’t wait to go back!!!!

Original and breathtaking. The shapes and color combinations capture the imagination like nothing else

This is a fantastic display of art in glass. It is displayed beautifully and took my breath away. Be sure to watch the video to understand the history. A short walk to the glass blowing demonstration is well worth it.

Even if glass is not your thing you will enjoy the creativity in this museum. The combination of the art, color, design makes this a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Good gift shop. Very interesting film that continuously loops is well worth the time to watch. And give yourself time to attend the glass blowing demonstration that is held across the street that comes along with your ticket.

Went with friends. An interesting exhibit but in some respects they are all very similar - have seen others including the display a few years ago at Kew Gardens in London.
Fascinating pieces. But the film of he and his glass craftsmen making some pieces was more interesting. It showed the effort for the guys making the pieces.
Worth a visit.

We enjoyed the Chihuly exhibit and the glass blowing demonstration at the Morean Art Center. They have a nice variety of Chihuly pieces and the demo is great-in 45 minutes, they created a beautiful piece start to nearly finish.

If you know Chihuly you know his glass is always amazing. This collection is terrific, we all enjoyed it as well as the demonstration across the street, don’t miss it!

One ticket gets you into the Chihuly Museum, a 1/2 hour live demonstration of glass blowing across the street, and walk in to the Morean Arts Center just down the street. Chihuly continues to astound with each room you enter, each a different concept, coloration and intent. Wonderment.

We enjoyed our visit here but probably enjoyed the Imagine museum even more..far larger selection of beautiful glass

I lived in Vail Colorado and they have a Chihuly Gallery in Beaver Creek I have taken many visitors to over the years. This location was much larger and you were able to get up close and personal with the glass art.

oh my stars !!! beautiful !! again - such talent the people have in making these awesome figurines !! a must see for sure !

Absolutely great. The blown glass show was amazing. I will definitely go back! I never realized how long it takes to make such beautiful pieces of art.

I love everything about Dale's work in glass. I've spent time in Seattle at his other gallery and can honestly say I liked this one as well.
Great video to watch and learn the history of his glass making and genius.
We spent a little over an hour and then walked down the street to the Morean glass works.

Great exhibit. Scan code and you have a guided tour which adds so much. Glass blowing exhibit was most interesting.

It is amazing what they can make. Many beautiful items to see, some small, and large. Really amazing. Interesting to watch they blow glass in person. Support the locals.

Very small collection. Hard to say if it was worth the price. If you are a die hard Chihuly fan, I'd say go, if you're not so much, skip it. It took all but 20 min to walk through it. The only thing that saved the experience was the glass blowing demo that was included with admission.

Your museum ticket not only gets you in to see the amazing art created by Chihuly, it also allows you to see a glassblowing demonstration in a working factory. Both worth the price!

This place is incredible! The artistry is amazing. Chihuly glass is like visiting an undersea reef of color but in delicate blown glass!

For anyone who appreciates fine art in general or glass art in particular, don't miss this collection. In fact, don't miss any of it- the standing exhibit, the informational and historical film loop, and the hot glass show across the street which is included with your admission. Chihuly is considered transcendent among glass artists and this collection will show you why. The standing exhibit is nothing short of breathtaking, especially if you are even remotely familiar with glass blowing. The sophistication of the pieces and the technical skill that is apparent in producing this art is simply astonishing. Do NOT miss the opportunity to see glass blown in a live demonstration across the street (so you may want to call ahead to see the times of the demos, and plan accordingly). We're big fans of glass art, and so not surprisingly loved this collection, but this collection is strongly recommended for anyone who appreciates beautiful art.

A nice retrospective of some of Chihuly’s iconic works. The “glass ceiling” is a high point. Some smaller pieces are offered for sale.

We went in Dec and there wasn't too many people there. Everyone was keeping their distance and wearing masks.
The glass work were awesome! we will go back.

This Collection does include a nice representation of Chihuly's work, but if you seen other exhibitions, you could skip this limited one and not miss much. If you have not seen many exhibitions of contemporary glass, this is a place to start.
I very rarely call activities or venues overpriced, but this one is definitely not worth twenty dollars per person.

If you are a Chihuly fan, you must see the pieces on display here. We have visited Chihuly exhibits all over the USA and this is a wonderful collection.

I'm a big fan of Dale Chihuly and his amazing talents with glass. But even if I weren't, I would recommend this exhibit. The colors and shapes that this man can create from glass astound me. The pieces are beautifully displayed and lighted. If your timing is right (plan ahead!) go across the street to the Moran Museum and watch a free glass blowing demonstration and well presenting explanation of the art.

The glass work was incredible and even more beautiful than pictures I've seen of it. The exhibit was well laid out, truly enhanced by its lighting, and crowds were light enough to where you could actually linger and appreciate the work.

We have seen Chihuly's work before in major museum exhibitions and at various hotels and other establishments. It is beautiful, fanciful, and intriguing. This is only a small sampling of his art. However, I did not find it inconsequential. Quite the opposite, it was a decent sampling of his art. The museum includes a 20-minute film and a 20-minute tour of actual glass crafting in a "hot room" across the street. There are pieces of art to purchase. Overall, this was an enjoyable visit.

GO TO THIS COLLECTION! This collection is magnificant/breathtaking/a "have to see it" collection. I spent over 2 hours viewing the collection. There are seats around some of the pieces to linger and enjoy. Also good for handicap persons who have trouble walking. The entry charge also includes a glass blowing talk while making a beauiful piece. This is well worth your time also. Yoy will mot be disappointed!

Loved that this was part of the city pass. I probably wouldn't have gone otherwise. It is amazing to see what goes in the working the original pieces. Enjoyed the museum very much, and don't forget the movie...an added bonus to understand the process better. The live demonstration was also great!

I have seen a few Chihuly exhibits so I am familiar with his work. If you have seen other exhibits you will be disappointed. There are only about 6 pieces. And of the few displays they were the same ones that I have seen at other exhibits. I would save the $15 pp and go to another location. Also the website advertised new installations for 2020. I did not see them.

As Chihuly fans, we were delighted with the Garden and collection in Seattle. A highlight of our visit to this city.

A stunning collection of superb work of an amazing glass artist. We'd seen his work elsewhere, at Boston Museum of Fine Arts and in Las Vegas, and many of these pieces are similar. I loved walking through or sitting in the various rooms where each piece could be viewed in its own light or on its own pedestal.

This was an incredibly exhibit to get to see up close, you can walk right up to the pieces and see the amazing details Chihuly incorporated into his work. It was amazing to see the range of his work, from chandeliers and bowls to vases, flowers, neon sculptures, and entire landscapes! I initially thought the ticket was a little bit pricey for the size of the collection; even though you see a lot of great things, it's not a huge gallery. But, what made the price a little more worth it was the ability to watch a glass blowing demonstration at an affiliated glass studio about a block away from the showroom, which was cool to sit in on.

Even my teenagers found this interesting and educational. Recommend city pass because adult tickets were $20 each without it. Only took about 20 minutes to go thru but even so we enjoyed it. Beautiful pieces

This is a beautiful collection of glasswork. Amazing. After seeing glass work done in Murano, Italy, this was an impressive stop and collection to see. Wish the gift shop had more of a selection. The glass blowing demo was wonderful and in that area, there is a great gift shop of glass work.

I love Chihuly, but some of the other exhibits in other parts of the world are a bit nicer. In a nice area of St. Petersburg. Enjoyed the other artists' exhibits.

Beautiful work. If you have never seen his work before, don’t miss it! Glass works that are different than any other artists that I have seen. Lots of oohs and aahs.

We've seen Chihuly works in different locations, but never a full museum dedicated to it. It was very impressive and quite beautiful. It only took about a hour to see it, but it was a nice way to spend the morning.

I love Chihuly, and to find this little museum was such a nice surprise. Everything was gorgeous. The lighting is perfect and the "sets" for each display were great. I took a ton of pictures that I still look at on my phone from time to time.

The glass work artistry and displays were amazing. Well worth the visit. The lighting and layout complimented the colors and shapes of the glass.

Beautiful collection! Really loved the exhibit, although it’s fairly small. The movie about Chihuly was interesting, but our favorite part was the glass blowing demonstration. The ladies made a gorgeous piece. Very enjoyable!

The items on exhibit are beautiful, but the exhibit itself is very small. The admission price also includes an art exhibit across the street and a glass blowing demonstration down the street. Unfortunately, the glass blowing demonstration is only scheduled on the hour in the afternoon, so if you get there when the Chihuly Collection opens, you have a long wait (and it's two hour parking on the street). The movie was very interesting. Would suggest giving yourself an hour (or less) for the Chihuly Collection and Art exhibit in the afternoon to coincide with the glass blowing demonstration (the first one of which began at 1:00).

This is a small Chihuly Museum but with many art pieces of the famed glass artist. Indeed, we enjoyed our visit.

I learned a lot about class. Nicely presented, not overly large. Included in the Tampa Bay pass option. Offer senior discount. Nice gift shop. Be sure to see the movie on a loop

The glass works were amazing and beautiful. Overall on the smaller side though and thankfully I visited when it was a slower day. (a weekday)

One day I will own a Chihuly piece of my own! I always have that take away after visiting this collection. We usually go to the Morean Arts Center; you can get 2-for-1 tickets for the Center and the Collection at a good price. After you watch the Morean glass blowing (my husband bought me the stunning bowl we watched being made from scratch!), we went to the Collection again. Dale's work is beyond gorgeous and so inspirational. We've seen his work all over the country, including Las Vegas, and it never fails to inspire. Even though much of it is now being done by his apprentices - he is not a young man and his installations are huge - they are indeed magnificent and well worth the price of admission. There are pieces available for sale if you do have deep pockets!!

Extremely unique pieces of glass blown art. Some art truly amazing others more repetitive and less so. We found the art work to be a waste of our time. If we could rate the museum in 1/2 point increments it would get a 4 1/2. Please sit through the brief film. It will give you an excellent perspective.
Once you have visited the Chihuly Collection you will definitely want to go watch an actual glass blower and probably their assistant walk you through a demonstration of the process of creating a new piece of glass art work at the Morean Glass Studio.

Although we have seen Chihuly's works in a variety of locations, this was the first museum exhibit we have seen. We enjoyed it very much. It has a variety of his works similar to what we have seen elsewhere. What was quite fascinating, however, was the studio a block away where there was a demonstration of glass blowing. Very enlightening and educational.

Great place to visit. BEWARE. Some street parking is 2 hour limit. Signage was far down the street and I did not see it—$25 fine. Look for the free parking on the street.

I will never tire of Chihuilly’s work and recommend this gallery as the shapes and colors are mesmerizing.

My wife and I are huge Chihuly fans. We've seen his work in Seattle WA, Bentonville AR, Dallas TX, Atlanta GA, and now Tampa FL. We go out of our way if we are close by, and this was no exception. We've actually seen many of the pieces before. However, what a joy to see how he came up with the ideas. This is the first time we got to see his thinking, progression and changes over time.
This place is small, but if you walked through in 15 minutes, you have not taken in the details offered by the collection not seen elsewhere. This place gives you insight versus the visualization. Our favorite visualization was in Dallas Arboretum. It was a temporary exhibit, but how it was spread throughout the whole arboretum was spectacular.
Having seen so many of his pieces, I think the ceiling hallway with all of them laying on the glass overhead was a new visualization I enjoyed the most.

For those familiar with the glass works of Chihuly, this is a very worthy exhibition. For those not, it is a good place to become acquainted with the work of this renowned artist. There are several display areas and a free-floating docent with insights to offer as well as a very informative film about Chihuly's life and work. There is also a good glass blowing demonstration every hour. The gift shop has many nice pieces available that actually would make nice gifts!

This place is amazing. I’ve seen Chihuly’s work other places, but never as much all together. The large installations are incredible!

beautiful museum, great collection, the glassblowing across the street is a DEFINITE MUST DO after the museum !!!

Very nice but very small exhibit. Beautiful glass work, but if you have been to the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle this will be disappointing in comparison. Touring the exhibits and watching the short movie took about half an hour.

My wife and I went here in part because I have already given her several of his pieces. While we liked the displays, some of which were spectacular, it really wasn't worth paying to get in.

Be sure to go to the glass-blowing demonstration included with admission! The collection at the museum is lovely and the demonstration is a must-see (demo was about 25-30 minutes)

This is a beautiful exhibit. It is not huge but many many beautiful pieces.
It was worth a second visit.

An alien world full of beauty, colors, exotic plants and shine.
We even had the opportunity to see how this art is made. Very good.

If you are not familiar with Chihuly, then go. It is not a huge collection, but you get a taste of what he has done. Do not miss the opportunity to see his documentaries which give a better insight to who he is and what he has done. Often when we look at art without know the artist we miss so much of the art. Luckily, we are capturing thought and speech of directly from the artist. He is remarkable.

Phenomenal experience! Although we have seen similar Chihuly collections, each piece of glass is unique and stunning.
An added bonus, the nearby Morean Arts Center allows visitors to experience demonstrations of glass blowing and the opportunity to shop for unique, original pieces.
Well worth an hour or so of your time!

After visiting the Chihuly gardens in Seattle, we were excited to visit the collection in Tampa. However it’s very small in size and the collection in a Tampa is really limited. I’m not even sure I’d recommend it to a die hard fan of Chihuly‘s works until it becomes a cheaper visit,

Loves the art and the video if how/why it is created. Be sure to visit the Morean Glasswirks across the street for an amazing glass-blowing demonstration.

I love Chihuly glass and was excited to see the collection. Entry price was $20 per person and we walked through the entire exhibit, reading all placards, in about 15 minutes. Save your money and skip this one.

As part of a family reunion in Florida, a group of us checked out the Chihuly Collection in St Petersburg before the Rays baseball game. We parked at the stadium and walked 15 minutes to the museum, but there seemed to be some other parking available nearby.
Admission was $20 for adults, but the museum has reciprocal admission agreements with many other museums, so my wife and I got in for free. Obviously that helped our enjoyment of the museum, but those that paid full price we’re just as impressed.
If you are at all familiar with Chihuly, you will love this place, and if you are not familiar, it is a good place to be exposed to his glasswork. There were several of his elaborate chandeliers, a boat of glass balls (with enough options for 10 people to each pick different favorites), a hallway ceiling of glass flowers, a glass garden of fantastic shapes, and a room of large glass clam-shell flowers. There was also a movie depicting Chihuly creating an installation for a San Francisco museum, which was informative but a little long. Of the pieces available, the clam-shell flowers and the glass garden drew the biggest oohs and aahs.
The museum reminded me of the Chihuly Museum in Seattle, albeit on a smaller scale. Probably if I had not seen the Seattle museum, I might have been inclined to give this location 5 stars, but it was still well worth the visit. Family members that had not seen large Chihuly installations came away very impressed and big fans of the artist.

It was fun to watch the glass blower. The shop is full of amazing pieces. Amazing when these talented people can produce.

As always thrilled and delighted by any truly exhibit. The exhibit was smaller than expected but still quite enjoyable.

This was a pleasant surprise on a rainy day - we thoroughly enjoyed it, including glass blowing demo.

Not only is the art (glass and drawings) intriguing and just plain fun to look at, but you can learn a lot about the artist, Dale Chihuly, and how he creates innovative work. Inspiring for artists and art aficionados alike.

Well worth the visit. Won’t take a lot of time, but you’ll be so glad you didn’t miss it. You can’t take a bad photo here. Every room is so colorful.

Beautiful glass work, including the glass blowing exhibition. My first Chihuly visit as Seattle, but nice to have one here in Florida!

There was such a beauty to see what can be made out of glass. So much to see and was the best priced for our visit. The only place that had a student price. Well worth the visit.

The collection was amazing. We enjoyed every installation but my favorite were the chandeliers. Be sure to watch the video towards the end of the collection. It shows some great scenes of Chihuly with his pieces.

We enjoyed touring the Chihuly museum. There were a variety of his glasswork on display and also a 10-15 video about the progression of his art. Interesting to see

Took the kids here after a sour visit at the Dali museum in St. Pete. Our kids had a great time here. They were amazed at the blown glass art. We went through the gallery and then watched the move - should have done the movie first.

My husband and I visited Chihuly a few months ago and we highly recommend Chihuly. A visual feast for the eyes.

Start with the video so that you understand how these beautiful glass pieces are made. It’s not an extensive collection but what is there is spectacular.

Having seen a documentary before on Chihuly and his work, this was a great opportunity to see in person his amazing art. His colors and design are impressive. We enjoyed sitting and just looking at the Mille Fiori (or 1000 flowers) display. Be sure to take time at the end to watch the video on his work. Parking can be difficult, but we park at the Morean Glass Studio and only had to walk ½ block. Make sure up stop in and see the glass blow demonstrating to help you appreciate all the work that goes into these pieces.

Very nice collection of a variety of examples of the Chihuly style (meaning made by his students or employees). Across the street is a fine store for buying handmade blown glass, with wonderful demonsrtations.

DO NOT MISS THIS! Magical, manageable display of color and composition. One of my favorite places, EVER!

We toured the collection on a Saturday afternoon. Stunning display of glass blown sculptures. We enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend!

All glass was beautifully exhibited. Designs beyond my imagination. As a bonus we were able to go across the street and see an actual glass blowing demonstration.

The Chihuly collection of original blown glass art is amazing and a must see if you are exploring St Petersburg, Florida.
It boggles the mind to see such enormous pieces and displays. The glass coupled with the lighting makes the walk through the collection quite magical.
My only disappointment is that it is very short...there are only a handful of displays to see so be sure to take advantage of the glass blowing demonstration across the street at the Art Center, which is included in the price of admission. It was fascinating to watch and learn. Gives one a new appreciation for just how much work (and time!) goes into a piece of blown glass!

The collection was beautiful to look at. It was also fun to learn the progression of the artist and how his art developed. I just wish the museum was a little longer. The $20 per person is a little steep for a short museum.

If you love blown glass, you will love this exhibit of Chihuly works. Always so beautiful to see. The movie is informative too.

Nice exhibit of the works of Chihuly, though maybe a bit pricey for admission for what you will see. But for fans of his work, it would be worth it.

Great little museum to see in downtown St.Pete. Doesn't take a lot of time and can walk across the street after and watch the glass blowing demonstration

Located in the central Arts District, the collection is small but the artistry is unique and fantastic. Price is reasonable at $20, and the whole tour (if you take it leisurely) is about two hours, The pieces are well presented, mostly in the dark with accent lighting to show off the brilliant textures and colors. There's a very informative video that shows how they make the pieces (which satisfied a lot of my curiosity).
If you're in St Petersburg (we went for the Dali Museum), it's well worth a short detour to see this colorful and imaginative display!

I went to the exhibit in Seattle so I had to see it here. It was smaller but still beautiful. I love his work and the magnificent colors in his glass. Watch the video and then walk over to see how the process works from local artist. It is a nice afternoon activity. We got a piece of glass to take home from a local artist.

Great selection of Chihuly’s work. Small gallery, but mighty. Take advantage of the staff who are available to answer questions. Very knowledgeable!
Walking distance to several restaurants and cafes. Parking on the street was easily available.

I have been to the Chihuly Museum in Seattle, so I had a fair idea of what to expect, and I loved this one just as much! Some pieces or concepts were the same or similar, and others were new and different. I would always seek out anything by Chihuly and would highly recommend this to people of any age.

This is the second time I have visited this exhibition and I was just as impressed as the first time. The abilities of this glass artist never cease to amaze me whether it is a single piece at some random location or at this amazing collection.
My two favorite pieces are the “float boat” because it is so real life regarding glass floats from the past, and the enormous surreal piece near the end that reminds me of a fantasy downtown of a city.

Great collection and curation. Excellent lighting too. It was great to see his work that wasn't done in glass as well!

I saw his gardens in Seattle and I knew I had to see this too. My NY neighbors were visiting so we went. I enjoyed seeing how much they enjoyed it

The collection here is excellent, and well displayed. I only rated the attraction "Very Good" because the new location now includes a live glass-blowing demonstration. I eagerly looked forward to that. What they don't tell you is that it's about 100 degrees in the perfectly named "hot-shop" and the demonstration lasts 50 minutes. With most of the parking places in the area limited to two hours, the demo severely cuts into the time you can spend in the museum. Half of the audience left before the demonstration was over.

This is A wonderful Chihuly exhibit one of the 6 we have seen across the country. It is a beautiful lay out in a museum setting.

Wow! Those colors. I love Chihuly's work, how he gets the glass art in such vibrant colors. He created at least two pieces just for this exhibit.

A small museum but with spectacular glass artistry. I am not usually drawn to this type of thing but the amazing displays were worth the visit.
Don’t miss the movie showing how the pieces were created

This is my reason for being in St Petersburg this year and we weren’t disappointed. Dale Chihuly glass takes my breath away with such vibrant colors and beauty. He’s such a talented artist! A must see! I’ve seen almost all of his exhibits throughout large communities in the US.

Though not as stunning as his Seattle museum, this is a very worthy collection of this artist and much less crowded. Able to talk in detail with staff about the art work and the glass blowing demo in the studio next door was much better than Seattle. Well worth a visit!

I am happy to have visiting this museum while in town. the glass pieces are incredible.
the museum is quite small so this can be done in 30 mins or so.

If you like glass, you’ll love this. It’s small but has beautiful displays. I took so many pictures there!

The most beautiful glass work I have ever seen. The creativity and skill in the pieces is unbelievable! Gift shop nice but wish they would have had some prints suitable for framing of the works. The had postcards but nothing larger. Enjoyable visit.

Dale Chihuly is a master glassblower. This collection is candy for your eyes. Be sure to take time to watch the movie to see how these works of art are made. When you finish, go across the street to watch a glassblowing demonstration. You can even purchase a piece of art to take home.

What this man does with glass is incredible. When we were visiting St Petersburg and found out that there was a Chihuly Collection, going to visit it was a must. Though not a large collection, it was beautiful. After going through exhibit we went and saw a glass blowing demonstration nearby. Public parking was inexpensive and close to the exhibit

We’ve seen Chihuly in Toronto, the Bronx botanical garden, Las Vegas, Palm Beach ... We didn’t see anything different but it was a beautiful collection of his glass all together in one place with a gift shop and his glassblowing studio across the street. Admission was $20 discounted for students, seniors, veterans and children.

Fascinating glass art and sculpture by famous artist Dale Chiluly. Be sure to watch the film that is playing as part of the exhibit as this gives great perspective on the artist’s methods and vision. Really beautiful and intriguing exhibit!

I saw Chiuly's installation in the NY Botanical Garden and was blown away. This was much smaller but still arresting. A bit pricey and limited gift shop merchandise. Worth a visit if in the area.

A very interesting place to visit. I would highly recommend watching the glass blowing demonstration across the street first to give you a greater appreciation for all of the pieces in the collection. Highly recommend.

The Chihuly Collection in St. Petersburg is an absolute MUST when visiting the area.
We have seen Chihuly works of art in various locations worldwide and we are avid fans of his.
The collection in St. Petersburg is beautifully presented and is truly amazing.
From small household glass items to large scale works of art, Chihuly's mastery of glass is beyond belief.
Words cannot do justice to such great pieces of art. Even photos (of which I have attached a few), cannot convey the true scale and feeling you get when actually standing close to these special and unique masterpieces.
The only true way is to go there yourself.
Don't Miss It!! Amazing!!

There are amazing and large works of Chihuly glass art at this museum. The number of exhibits is not huge, but they are breathtaking. If you like glass art, this is a must see. If you are new to glass art, there are some interesting pieces here that you are sure to find fascinating.

I love the glass of Chihuly. There were some great pieces displayed. However, I was disappointed that there was not MORE!! The fee to get in was about $20 and I felt that there was not enough of his work displayed to make it worth the effort to visit and the cost involved. What was there was gorgeous though so if you love his work, you will not be disappointed. I especially love his chandeliers and there were only about 4-5.

welll worth an hour of your time. I enjoyed all the glass and I found the video to be highly informative. It is greqt that parking in the area is free for two hours and the exhibit is across the street from the Morean Arts Center. I first became familiar with Chihuly at the Mayo Clinic in rocester, MN where several pieces are on permanent display.

What amazing exhibits. So glad my friends took me there. I have never seen such exquisite colours in glass. Wish I could visit again.
After the walk around the collection we had the pleasure of seeing glass being blown into a colourful vase just across the road.
To watch an artist at work was amazing.
A must see place to visit if you’re in the area.
On street parking was good too.

Absolutely stunning! One room was better than the next and they allow you to take pictures. Bonus! I would recommend.

I hope you have coupons or you got this as part of a package, cuz if you paid full price to get in, you are going to be woefully disappointed and angry about how small this is. They do have a live glass blowing demonstration across the street behind a business that is sponsored and part of your ticket...

If like Chihuly glass at all I highly recommend a visit to see this collection. My wife and I were able to view the whole exhibit and watch a short video about Chihuly in about 90 minutes. This collection has great samples of all his types of his artwork. The only negative is there isn’t a dedicated parking lot and nearby street parking is limited. I recommend visiting early in the day.

If you’ve never experienced a Dale Chihuly collection, this small exhibit whets the appetite for banquets available at Seattle’s Chihuly Garden & Glass (opened 5/21/12) which, surprisingly, is not the largest. That honor goes to Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Two retail stores are located in casinos, though it’s a sure bet to view the collections at Bellagio in Las Vegas and Macau’s MGM Grand Casino. I was fortunate to visit the Seattle collection shortly after it opened, in 2012. Although I will never own a Chihuly original, there are several glass-art studios in Washington State, including Seattle’s Glasshouse Studio, where I acquired the wall-mounted platters and “apples” in the accompanying photos.
America phenom glass-art sculptor Dale Chihuly (born in Tacoma, WA on 9/20/1941) has works considered to possess astounding artistic merit in the blown glass venue. Think Murano—on a grand, house-sized scale. He learned to fuse glass-art in Florence, Italy. Technical difficulties of working with glass-art are considerable, yet the artist uses it as the primary medium for outdoor artworks, as well as mammoth scale interior art. Although Chihuly lost an eye in an accident, his art vision on a massive scale is unsurpassed. Working with a team of master glassblowers has enabled Chihuly to produce architectural (think building-size) glass-art on unimaginable scale and quality.

Always loved Chihuly's art and this collection surely did not disappoint. I thought that the main elements of his compositions were familiar to the eye and that I would see somewhat similar exhibits. This was partially true, but at the same time the eye never tires of his creations and there were also ones I have never seen. They also are showing an excellent documentary about him.
They charge a rather high fee ($20) for such a small museum. And it's small, indeed. They say that includes a glass demo in a different company across the street, but in 102° heat this was not an attractive option. The shop is abundant but very expensive.

Smaller collection of Chihuly than expected albeit displayed very nicely & includes a short film; our favorite thing was it included admission to a weel narrated glass blowing demo across the street. IF you've seen Chihuly works elsewhere, as we have, I'd recommend the larger and less costly Imagine Musuem also in downtown St Pete.

My group came across an ad for the Chihuly exhibit on a tourist map and decided to drop by after visiting the Dali museum. We didn’t know much about the exhibit or artist. But we throughly enjoyed the beautiful glass sculptures and the lighting that best set off their beautiful inner glow. I was sad the gift shop didn’t have more glass items available, but we did get a lovely glass rose made by a local artist (ask the cashier for artist name).
There was some debate over whether or not an exhibit that was supposed to only take 30 minutes should cost us $20 a person, but personally I enjoyed it enough (and was mentally prepared for expensive museums when I came to Florida) that it didn’t bother me.
There is a little film at the end of the exhibit that was actually quite fascinating to watch and I would recommend stopping to watch it!

What a beautiful exhibition. Such a unique experience. Enjoyed the visit. Can also go over to the glass works and see a live demonstration on the hour with a real glass artist, the day I went. That is included in the collection admission, was so cool to see!

Beautiful Chihuly art works. Not a big exhibit, but worth seeing. Be sure to add on a visit to the glassblowing studio across the street for free demonstrations by some fine artists.

The Chihuly Collection is a beautiful display of dramatic glass. It only takes an hour or so to walk through but it is worth the effort.

Very small museum but so interesting. Pay to park in city lots and walk a few blocks. Get a discount ticket from AAA or your city library.

I'm a huge Dale Chihuly fan and I can't believe it's taken me this long to get to the gallery. It's not huge but has some absolutely amazing pieces. I could truly stare at his work all day. Highly recommend!

Incredible works of glass. The quality and craftsmanship, as well as the artistry, are without peer. This is an exhibit that must be seen to believe and admired.

My wife and I visited the Morean Arts Center for the Chihuly Collection. I was very impressed with the glass artwork and the myriad colors and designs. My wife has been to the larger collection in Seattle; but, said that this was just as impressive just on a smaller scale.

I loved watching Anali Singh at the Morean Arts Center (across the street from Chihuly building and part of the entrance fee)
She demonstrated some amazing talent in producing works of glass. The timing and precision as well as the creative use of the raw materials produced a remarkable piece of class art!
The building/museum houses some very beautiful Chihuly pieces showcased perfectly! The short video of the artist and his evolution in the art form was very informative!

I've been to larger collections and installations of chihuillys art but if you have nicer seen his work live this was an excellent introduction. Well worth the price of admission. The video is a must in order to get a full appreciation of this artist and his work.

This is a great little museum. It's a bit pricey for what's offered but these incredible works are certainly worth the visit. True art lovers must not miss it.

Enjoyed a breathtaking tour of Chihuly”s Collection, seeing the various periods or styles over several decades. Gorgeous installations with lighting that sets off the colors. Don’t miss the film, as it gives insight as to how the sculptures are a result of teamwork, almost a choreographed dance with molten glass and 2000 degree F furnaces. Admission included a live glass blowing demonstration at the Morean Arts Center.

Such beautiful displays! Wished it was larger! Really enjoyed the glass blowing demonstration. The colors are so vibrant! Even my son was fascinated by the skill it takes and the amazing designs.

Wow this museum is stunning! From the first impression of the amethyst tower out front, you will not be disappointed!

This is a must if you are doing museums in St. Petersburg. The glass work is stunning and amazing at the same time.

A fine museum with extraordinary, breath taking exhibits. Scan the QR code and you have a guided tour at your own speed on your cell phone. We went close to the opening time and had the place to ourselves for some time. We learned a lot and appreciated the helpful desk staff.

Chihuly glass is always gorgeous and this museum has a great collection. I really enjoyed the movie and the glass blowing exhibit included with our ticket.

$18.00 senior price for a very small exhibit that takes about 20 minutes to walk through. Can't believe they built a special building for this.

Nice overall experience especially with glass blowing after the actual tour later in the day. The hosts were very well versed on the craft.

Very cool exhibit. Our tour guide was great. She gave us a lot of interesting information about the artist and his various pieces. Would highly recommend a visit. Price was reasonable. The glass blowing demonstration was a nice add on. Tour took about 45 minutes and the demonstration was another 40.

This isn’t a huge museum, but every piece is amazing and each room is gorgeous. Whether it’s worth the price is whether you feel that seeing the most amazing glass in the world for a half hour is worth it, plus the glass blowing exhibition which was very cool too.

The glass pieces are amazing. Saw a small display in Ohio and Chicago years ago. The museum is definitely worth visiting.

This is a collection of some of Chihuly's art glass. There are pieces that represent the different types of glass blowing that he did. there was a hallway that had one of his Persian ceilings ( I think that is the name) . Another area had installations that are meant to be gardens. If you are a fan of Chihuly, or just heard about him, this is a definite must see museum.

Nicely curated collection. I especially enjoyed the movie as it made me even more appreciative of the works on display. A small gift shop with books and some small pieces of glass are enjoyable also. It takes about an hour to visit.

It's a dramatic gallery, perfectly lit and made for taking dramatic photos. On-street parking is pleantiful. That said, it's a very limited collection, lots of empty space and expensive to get in. You'll be in and out in 30 minutes.

We spent most of an hour in pure joy looking at all the glass sculptures in this little Collection. Most are much larger that we had expected and the way they were displayed was part of the fun.

this guy's work is staggering.
not only is it beautiful, how he does it is incredible.
time well spent.
they do offer an exhibit of actual glass blowing, but we didn't take it.
would repeat!!

We visited the museum with two friends who have also visited the museum in Seattle. We paid $18 each (seniors rate) and zipped through the display in about 20 minutes. Lovely glass, but not worth the price of admission.

If you love glass (and even if you don’t), this is a don’t miss collection. Tie a visit together with a visit to the Morean Art Center across the street where you can watch a glass blowing demonstration by local artist.

This collection has no peer in the Tampa Bay area. The glass work is incredible and the entire collection is surrounded by photos of the craft of glass blowing. If you want to see something unforgettable, be sure and visit this gallery....you'll never forget it!

Absolutely unbelievable what this man and his crew can do! The glass art on display is magnificent. The shapes, colors and designs defy imagination. Definuitly watch the video. You won't be disappointed.

We never realized that glass art can be so beautiful. It's amazing the different types of carvings can be done with glass with such beautiful colors. A must see.

Incredible glass art museum, with a video that covers the history of the amazing artist and his work. You can, also, walk down the street to their "Hot Shop" and watch a couple of experts make a piece of glass art. He is a one-of-a-kind artist and a sampling of his work is something to behold

Small but good quality collection with informative film. Worth a visit even if not a fan of glass art.

We sure didn’t expect to be so impressed . The works of art are just incredible. This is a must see if you’re in the area

This exhibit is a MUST SEE!!!. The entire exhibit will facinate you with outstanding works of glass. Large and small...complex and simple. We enjoyed everything we saw. Then we went across the street to see the glass blowing demo and it made it even more facinating.

They feature Dale Chihuly glass artwork. They show 'Ikebana', a luminous glass garden. They show 'Ruby Red Icicle Chandelier'. Across the street at the Morean Glass Studio you can do some glass blowing.

Chihuly’s work is beautifully displayed, and the introduction video is not to be missed. While extremely well presented, it’s a small collection, and at $20 overpriced. I’d allow 60mins to visit the museum and 45mins for the glass blowing demonstration. After visiting Seattle, I wish this museum would have so much more!

The exhibit is well done, thoughtful and showcases the work beautifully. I've visited other Chihuly collections including Seattle and while this is a bit smaller, it has many of the same types of work. The darkened rooms with spotlights are fantastic. Included in the admission is a 30 minute live presentation on glass blowing about a block away. That was also a lot of fun,

The Chihuly Collection, presented by the St. Petersburg based Moreau Art Center, is a stunning permanent entourage of the world renowned, master of colour, Dale Chihuly. His unique glass artworks are located in a 10000 sq. ft. setting on Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg and is in the middle of one of the most vibrant Gulf Coast tourist areas. Included in this collection are some of Dale's most impressive large-scale creations which have been wowing audiences around the globe.
The permanent home for dale's Collection is a building that was specifically designed to exhibit the art ensemble. Each exhibit space has been orchestrated in such a way as to enhance the visual experience and capture the essence of Chihuly's message. Art and architecture are designed to work together creating a dramatic extravaganza of light, science and colour. Dale Chihuly .....is a modern day Louis Tiffany...an architect by background ...... a pioneer, a visionary, and a master of colour theory and the alchemy of glass making. His works are literally, rainbows in a box.
As I entered the Chihuly Collection studio I couldn't help feeling that I was in the midst of some futuristic imaginary world with it's 16 awe-inspiring glass installations , each with it's own theatrics and precisely detailed pieces propped up by bespoke lighting effects and dramatic staging. Its hard to pick favourite pieces of Dale's glass artwork when they all qualify, but here's a shot at the spectacular items:
ENTRANCE EMBLEMIZED:......a scraggly 20 ft. vertical column of cerise, rock-candy coloured glass that is an artistic indicator and provides a quick peek at what to expect from the Chihuly Collection inside,
RUBY RED ICICLE CHANDELIER:.....a signature piece which dangles from the ceiling in a spiked-like-a-porcupine, form. This art piece was created by Dale especially for this collection, and other chandeliers are present with a twisty, curlicued form that resembles a woman's hair after the pin curlers are taken out,
BLUE NEON TUMBLEWEED:..an electronic, blue, neon, glowing, glass machine that transformed me into a blue person. If I'd have shaved my head, I could have been mistaken for a member of the Blue Man Group,
CEILING OF THE PERSIANS: bottom-up view of an glass aquarium-like exhibit with all manner of shell-like patterns and colours as well as jumbo blooms,
WALL OF PERSIANS: think: Ceiling of Persians, but on the wall,
MACCHIA FOREST: a dynamic forest of glass with billowing bowls of contrasting colour and patterns....my favourite...the multi-coloured and pink macchia,
MILLE FIERE: a spectacular and whimsical glass montage mimicking a wildflower patch, with this garden planted on a shiny black glass floor, causing an explosion of colour,
VENETIAN COLLECTION:..unique pieces reminiscent of a vase or a lamp or some slim vertical concoction, all with twisty spirals and curvy handles,
FLOAT BOAT: this is an installation that consists of a boat of glass balls of various colours, some small, some the size of your head and some as big as a beach ball. The boat sits on a black reflective plexiglass that renders, an already colourful scene, into something spectacularly dazzling.
DRAWINGS...this was quite a refrain from the colour blasts of the collection exhibits and consisted of a wall of Dale's inspirational drawings. These graphics were stunning in their own right and revealed his thought processes in the fabrication of his masterpieces.
The Glass Studio & Hot Shop, housed in the Moreau Center, provides an opportunity to see working artists in the visually exciting process of creating glass pieces. The artists provide running commentary on the precision steps they are following, the chemistry behind glass manipulation and the artists vision guiding the process. I sat in a mini-stadium styled seat watching an artist 'glass blowing' in front of a blast furnace, sweating like mad........and mesmerized.
With Dale's Studio Edition Glass selling in the $4.5K - $8K range I decided to make my own glass display with fake Murano candies and marbles, Chihuly staged, in a large multi-coloured shell purchased in Tarpon Springs. Only I known the truth.
So, if you are looking for a unique attraction, that will put you in awe at the overwhelming visual overloading and eye-boggling.........then try the ..........................
.....Chihuly Collection......Rainbows In A Box.

I thought there would be more, but what was in this museum was wonderful and well-displayed. We enjoyed it, although it didn't take very long.

We were very impressed with the collection. Many different styles of glass plus a nice movie that helps explain the artist’s approach to his work. Well worth the visit.

Our reservation was for a Saturday when it happened to be raining. The glass and art collection are stunning and beautifully lighted and presented. Unfortunately, far too many people were allowed inside at the same time which detracted from the experience

His art continues to impress! I've seen his work in two different locations I'm not allowed to mention here and I continue to be drawn to it. As expected, it did not disappoint. Its a smaller collection of his works, but still well worth going to see. Included in the ticket is a glass blowing demonstration every hour, beginning at 1200, at the Morean Art Studio. Its quite an eye opener to see what they can do with glass!

Chihuly is a master glass blower. His work never ceases to amaze me and I never tire of seeing his work. His place is a reciprocal venue on some museum memberships. Even if it isn’t. It’s worth every penny. Here are some highlights.

The glass creations are astounding but you pretty much could walk through this in about 15 minutes. My friend thought there was more to it, but no. It was a good thing the ticket also covered the Morean Art Center too. But what was there took your breath away.

Are you into the art of glass-blowing? The Chihuly Collection in St. Petersburg, Florida, will really blow your mind. Located at 720 Central Avenue, it is a stunning, permanent collection of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly's unique artwork, displayed in the heart of St. Petersburg's eclectic and vibrant Central Arts District, near the celebrated Dali Museum. Chihuly's awe-inspiring and spectacular and unique artwork is showcased in intimate settings that cover over 11,000 square feet of space. Each setting complements the works of art from the "Ruby Red Icicle Chandlier" to the "Sunset Persian Wall." In the Chihuly Collection Store, visitors can browse and purchase selections from Chihuly's merchandise, local artists of all mediums, handcrafted and specialized products and Chihuly Collection custom items. In addition, there is a 30-seat theater where visitors can observe a continuously running film that is informative and entertaining. And a temporary exhibition space featuring glass artists from around the country.

We visited the Chihuly exhibit in Seattle and were excited to visit again in St Petersburg, FL. Smaller exhibit but just as amazing! Incredible artistry! Vibrant colors in uniques shapes all beautifully displayed. Also visited the glass blowing demonstration which was very informative. Great afternoon!

Definitely worth the price of admission. The film was very informative and the glass objects on display are extremely impressive. If you've been to the Imagines museum, don't think that there will be duplication. They are completely different. When finished, you can walk across the street to see a glass blowing demonstration. Don't miss it.

Came here to see the amazing glass artwork. It was amazing, and oh so vibrant colors. However for the $20 you spend, there isn’t much to see. Pretty disappointed. Only thing that made the visit worth the time was the free glass blowing demonstration that came with the ticket. Their gift shop was a joke, with them being out of many things. They definitely need to learn how to stock their shelves. Only saving grace was there was free parking on the street when we came.

The highlight was the glass blowing demo. The movie was informative and should not be missed about 20 minutes long. The gallery is small.

Hey, if you're ticking the Chihuly box on your bucket list, you probably don't want to miss this museum. However, his exhibits at SeaTac or the front desk lobby at the Bellagio in Las Vegas are free and to me, more exciting. We found the Imagine Museum more interesting and cheaper.

I had visited this local Chihuly Collection on Beech before its moved to a larger space on Central Avenue to showcase the various phases of his decades long career. Lovely. Nice lighting. If you go for a docent tour,,,recommended..do ask for Carol. She is the best docent here and perhaps at all museum venues in St Petersburg. The collection now features a space for rotating exhibits making frequent visits a combination of old and new experiences.

Small museum but incredible works of art in glass. Wish we could've gone to the glass blowing included in the price.

This is a great condensed view of all the Chihuly works in one place. Great lighting to show the works. The 15 minute video is well done nd well worth the time to see the evolution of his work. The video does not cover his 2 accidents that contributed to his inability to blow glass and moved his art into a true team effort.
Great gift shop with a limited number of Chihuly items and items by local artesans.
The museum is accessible entry and movement through the museum and gift shop.
Accessible restrooms with grab bars and adequate space. Accessible street parking with some spaces 2 hours free adn other by pay by app 24/7. Parking is challenging in busy times.

We really enjoyed this museum, but the entry fee is ridiculously high for such a short experience, and that’s why I gave it a 4 rating instead of 5. We paid $20 per adult, and I think it should be $10. I can’t imagine a family of 4 paying $70+ dollars.
Think about getting a museum membership that will get you into multiple museums if you plan on seeing a lot during the year.
When you are there don’t miss the glass blowing demonstration. I’ve been to several glass blowing demonstrations and watched it on TV and I still learned something new. I did tip them even though I was annoyed by the entry fee. Lol.

We thoroughly enjoyed the time here! The Docent led tour was very informative! If you’re visiting, it’s worth while as she provides so much behind the scene information and answered all of our questions.
It’s a magical space!

This is the second time we have been to this museum. We loved it before as well. It is so exciting to see the art work of Dale Chihuly.
He is a brilliant artist and not like anything else we see. It is also exciting to watch the film of his work and how it is created. The museum is very well done.

We love Chihuly so we enjoyed this exhibit very much. Others said they were in and out in 30 min. We spent a bit over an hour. Glad we stopped.

This is a must see when visiting St. Petersburg, FL.!! The Chihuly Collection is unbelievable! Definitely would visit again!!

I typically dont like glass art, but this museum was really interesting. Quite fascinating artworks. I recommend the movie about Chihuly.

Be sure to see the glass blowing demonstration access the street from the museum. Very interesting and informative.

The collection is not larger but it is amazing. Make sure to watch the movie toward the end of the experience as it tells a very interesting story about his exhibit in Jerusalem that is fascinating. With your ticket you get the chance to go across the street to watch glass blowing by a local collective as well. Very interesting!

My family including 2 preteen boys had a great time at the Chihuly collection at the Morean Arts Center. Display after display and exhibit after exhibit were fascinating displays of Chihuly's works. My tips: Take your time and bring your camera. Make sure you watch the movie / video. It was a fascinating view of how Chihuly works with a team, how they make large pieces, and the concepts behind the various collections and pieces of his work. Make sure you make an effort to go across the street and watch them working in the live studio. It was also fascinating to watch them make small pieces. We would definitely recommend the spend (19.95/adult, 12.95/student) and would consider going back the next time we are in St. Petersburg.

Visited the Chihuly Collection in St Petersburg. The cost to enter was $20.00. I have been to other Chihuly displays and was disappointed in the way this collection was presented to the public.
The collection was beautiful but the art work was dusty and in need of cleaning.
The staff was very uninterested in interacting with the patrons.
Overall a disappointing visit.

This small museum had a wonderful exhibit of Chihuly glass work.We have seen several different Chihuly exhibits, including the one in Seattle. The display here is differently worth doing. The ticket included a glass blowing exhibit afterwards which we really enjoyed. A great afternoon in St. Petersburg.

As an avid art gallery fan, I gave this a 4 and not a 5 solely because the gallery is tiny and the entrance fee is expensive, in my opinion. We did the whole thing in about 20 minutes and still had enough time to go to the Dali museum and visit it in its entirety. Beautiful work, but not worth the cost for a family activity.

I love to see the colors and talent of Dale Chihuly’s work. We visited his place in Seattle so this was definitely a smaller place. However, it was still a great place to visit. They have some great postcards in their gift shop, too. Included in our visit was a glass blowing demonstration across the street in another building. That was very interesting to watch. If you are riding the free Looper Trolley that goes through downtown St Pete, get off at stop #6 and walk about a block and a half to the Chihuly Collection. Good place to visit!

This was a wonderful exhibit of Chihuly art. Recommend going through it with one of the staff guides. The additional pottery exhibits make it a well rounded visit. Easily located in St. Pete.

Enjoyed seeing the many pieces. The tour greatly enhanced the experience. Thought the cost was a little high. Beautiful building. Would go back again.

This was a small but be easy to love museum. The glass is beautifully displayed and draws you in.The pieces of art are classic Chihuly.the extra treat was a glass blowing demonstrated across the street in their workshop. It's a very good use of time and a treat for your eyes.

I expected to see a much larger display of Chihuly's works here. However, for an opportunity to see his stunning pieces, it was a treat!

We love Chihuly's work, but were probably spoiled by our visit to the Seattle collection a few years ago. The Ft Lauderdale site pales in comparison. Admission includes glass blowing exhibition a block away.

When in Florida, don’t miss this exhibition, an amazing form of art with glass, with chandeliers, vases, flowers and abstract objects. It is unbelievable, and the artist has works all around the world, like the Bellagio in Las Vegas!

The main reason we came to St. Pete and want a great experience
Dale Chihuly is truly one of the most amazing artists of our times.
Each installation was more breath taking then next, every time I turned a corner I gasped in awe .....The Collection is a must see !!!!

We have visited the workshop in Seattle. Also saw the exhibit at the Atlanta botanical Garden. Wonderful collection covering all phases of his career. Be sure to watch the film on his Isreal show several years ago.

Both the gallery and the glass blowing demonstration were engaging and I’d highly recommend. Beautifully displayed works of art in glass as well as some of his prints and 2D art.

We loved visiting the Chihuly collection! Such a stunning body of work. We also went to the blown glass demo across the street at the Morean which was really cool. Highly recommend!

Chihulyr is so gale and his works are just magnificent. St. Pete has a beautiful rotating collection of his marvels. Definitely a place to stop on your trip

A small museum in an interesting neighborhood. Some on-street parking. If you know anything about contemporary studio glass then you probably know the name "Chihuly." This is a good place to see his work and a good addition to the "culture" of St. P.

Love the glass that Chihuly designs. I was disappointed that there was not more to look at. Do not miss the movie. Wonder.ful background and pictures of more of his work. Go to the museum in the morning and then at noontime you can go across the street and see a wonderful display of glass blowing. His work is just so special. I have been lucky enough to see his chandeliers and garden displays before and he is just wonderful.

Chihuly pieces are beautifully displayed and lit. The museum is pretty small but it includes all of the artist’s styles of glass and even many of his paintings. Definitely worth a look.

This isn't a huge exhibit, but it is beautifully displayed and a comprehensive recorded presentation to give visitors a great understanding of the depth and breadth of Chihuly's imagination and creations. And an honest credit to all the glass artists who execute his visions into reality. Go and feast your eyes on the colors, shapes and magic of glass art!

This was an amazing exhibit. So fascinating. Even my teenager was fascinated from the art work glass. The presentation from the two men making the artwork glass hard was incredible. To see all the hard work for one piece was crazy. Interesting .

Wonderful collection of breathtaking glass pieces! Make time to see the films along the way. Gives vital information about the artist and his collections. Make sure you schedule a day when you get to go across the street to see the live glass blowing demonstrations.

I've seen this Chihuly Collection twice now. It's located on Central Ave across from Morean Arts Center. Paid Parking is on the street or you can find a parking lot. I've seen the Chihuly Collection when it was on display at the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens in 2012. This was an AMAZING display of Chihuly spread amongst 66 acres!
We were kinda disappointed as to the size of this Collection. The building looks fairly large and we thought it was going to be on several floors but, the exhibit is contained to the 1st floor and the ticket price is $19.95 which makes it a little pricey. It is a quick walk thru the exhibits, less than 1 hour and a very small sampling of his work. At the end of the exhibit, there is a rather long movie to watch about the history of Chihuly and it demonstrates his blowing techniques & how he designs his Art objects.
Worth watching, this is where you will spend most of your time.
I recommend that you pair your visit with a private glass blowing class across the street at the Morean Arts Center to extend the time you spend at Chihuly and create your own sculpture. The ticket does include a glass blowing demonstration at the Morean Arts Center.

I'm not sure words could express this exhibition. Fascinating, mesmerizing, breathtaking, amazing. A definite yes if you are in St. Pete.

We have seen his work in many places, but a large collection like this is a huge prize. The works are spaced nicely in somewhat dark rooms, but they are lit by individual spotlights. The effect is striking. You also get free admission to the glassblowing shop across the street to view a demo.

Spectacular! First, we toured the gallery and viewed breath taking Chihuly glass art. Then we walked across the street to watch the glass blowing demonstration. All were fascinating. We peeked into the free Morean gallery, which houses many works by artists.
Don't miss this!

I love the exhibit with it’s beautiful colors and shapes. I just wish there was of it. The exhibit hasn’t changed in years.
The movie was interesting and much to our surprise the glass blowing demonstration was very good. We’ve seen many of them over the years but this one didn’t rush through and they explained the process very clearly.
Save your admission ticket as that is needed when you go across the street for the glass blowing. The demonstrations started at 1:00 and were every hour until 5 I believe.

My family enjoyed the Chihuly Collection and would highly recommend. You only need about 30 minutes to view the collection. The glass blowing demonstration across the street at the Morean Glass Studio is a must see. It’s included in the ticket price. Demonstrations happen on the hour and last about 15 minutes. My teenagers thought it was cool. Both attractions included gift shop.

This collection of master glassblowing artist Dale Chihuly is a must see, if you are traveling to St. Pete. Beautiful installation, and much bigger on the inside than you visualize by looking at the building. Your ticket also gibes you access the the glassblowing studio across the street from the collection, where you can watch a live glassblowing demonstrations, and ask questions of the narrator.

Amazing collection of glass art.
Fabulous film about his life and the whole thing is definitely worth the money. Recommend going.

The Chihuly museum is small but does represent work throughout his periods of focus. Unfortunately, you are on your own for a tour and must have a charged phone; no docent. The movie is the same as in Seattle. The gift shop sells his glass and paintings as well as work by other glass artisans. Lots of good books.
I rated this lower because of the disappointing glass blowing session. The din of the equipment plus the music of Journey (we love Journey) overpowered the presentation. The microphone was deficient and often the presenter could not be heard, particularly when his back was to us. Terminology was used which could have benefited from explanations. Lack of enthusiasm. The glass blower spoke at times but could not be heard clearly. This demonstration was included in the museum admission fee. I did not notice anyone in our group place money in the tip jar. This was a let down…we have seen superior demonstrations elsewhere. The glass blowing rating is 1.

Worth the entrance fee!! The Chihuly collection in St Pete is on the smaller side but is a must see. It is across the street from the Morean Arts Center that is free. Also your entrance fee includes an amazing blowing demonstration in the glass studio behind the Center. One of a kind pieces can be purchased for reasonable prices. Highly recommend going and making an afternoon of it.
If there is only one thing you do while you are in St. Petersburg, visiting the Chihuly Collection is it! The collection is visually stunning, and walking through the building you feel like you're in another world. In addition to the beautiful pieces on display, there is a documentary playing that shows the planning and creation of the various pieces. It's very interesting and gave me a new appreciation of the process of glass blowing. But being up close to see these magnificent works of art is fantastic.
Admission is very reasonable, and the day I visited it was not crowded at all. I spent a lot of time wandering and simply admiring the beautiful glass. I'm so glad I went!
