We were just visiting Crossville, TN. and I found this show online and bought tickets. We seen The Jerk, it was hilarious. The only thing they could improve on is their refreshments, They sell microwaved popcorn right in the bag for $3.00 and bottled drinks were $2.50-$3.00. They should invest in some fountain drinks and a popcorn maker,

Very nice trip all around for me and the family. Had young kids with us and they seemed to enjoy it also.

We have attended several plays over the years. I thought this was the best!!! The cast was large and very talented. Kelley Cash was superb. If you are in area, make plans to visit the Playhouse. It will be an enjoyable time and fun for all!!

All the plays that I have gone to were professionally done. There is not a bad seat in the house. I can't wait to see the new schedule .

This was our second trip to Crossville to watch a musical. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was excellent! My daughter and I were impressed with the talented young dancers, actors and singers! This musical was fast moving and captivating from start to finish! We can’t wait to return for another musical this summer.

Even though it is a musical, it was very good. The sets, the actors and the music were a delight. It is rated PG-13 and it is not for small children. Thoroughly enjoyed the show. It is amazing that the talent in this show would be in Crossville, TN.

The play was superb and the music was fantastic. Hard to believe there is so much talent in a small town area. The gentleman who played Jerry Lee Lewis couldn't have been any better in his singing, acting, and piano playing. We get season passes and enjoy all the plays but this one was exceptional. Three of us booked tickets to see it a second time it is so good.

It has a few years since we have been there, but each time we attend a show they are great. Will go again whenever we are in the area.

This is a fantastic venue. The best kept secret in Cumberland County. We saw Terri Clark. The acoustics were fantastic. The ushers are friendly and helpful.

We went to see a matinee performance of “Barefoot in the Park”. It was performed in a side theatre, not on the main stage. Seating was fine, the sound system was good, and the performance was credible.

We went as a Birthday party for a family member. We saw The Christmas Story. It was wonderful. Everyone laughed, and we continued to talk about it over dinner. I had never previously been, but will certainly be back.

This is such an awesome asset to our community. If you haven't experienced a live show before, don't miss this local gem!

We have seen several plays at the Playhouse in Crossville. I have to say they are all wonderful. The people at the playhouse always puts on a fantastic play. I have seen plays at other places and nothing gets even close to their plays. In fact we got season passes this year and have taken the grandkids a couple of times. I highly recommend that if you are in the area that you take in a play. You will not regret it.

Never seen a bad play here. There is always something for everyone and the talent is first rate. People come from all over to visit the Playhouse and it's been a good thing for the local economy

Each time we visit this srea, we get tickets for one or two plays. The theater itself is small and intimate...not a bad seat in either of the theaters. The actors/actresses are very high caliber. You will enjoy an evening or afternoon of laughter and song.

The play's here are quality shows! I have been to shows in Vegas that weren't as good as these Plays!!!! The sets in Vegas were more elaborate, but the acting wasn't as good!!! A MUST to visit if you are within 3 hours of Crossville!!!

Went to see The Miss Firecracker Contest. The actors and actresses all had great performances. The issue I had was the play itself. I left there wondering what it was that I saw and whether it had any relevance at all. I felt the story line was meaningless. Again, the actors and actresses did a great job performing a play that should never have been performed.

My wife and I were spending a week at Wyndham Fairfield Glade and found the Cumberland County Playhouse online as we Googled looking for things to do near Fairfield Glade. We called and secured tickets for two performances.....Legally Blonde and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Thinking we were going to see community theatre, we were pleasantly surprised to discover professional theatre in the small town of Crossville. Both performances were spectacular and every bit as professional as those we've seen at large metropolitan centers for the arts. The acting was superb and the quality of the singing was first rate.
We were especially enthralled by the performances of a young man named Ross Griffin. We saw him first in the role of Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde, which is a huge role that he executed flawlessly. Then, three nights later, he was expertly transformed into Quasimodo, the most challenging and exhausting role in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. His performance as Quasimodo was as good as any we have seen anywhere. We were blown away that this young man could give such amazing performances in two huge roles in two different shows within three nights. Unbelievable!
We WILL be making reservations again as soon as we know dates for our next trip to the Crossville area!

My wife and I attended the 10:30 a.m. performance on Saturday, April 14th. The O’Brien Adventure Theatre is the smaller of the 2 adjoining venues and capacity is 250. Our performance was about 2/3 filled. Our seats were first row, immediately left of the stage corner. The 4 performers were only 20’ away and sometimes as close as 5’, a really intimate setting and seats were cushioned and comfortable.
The 4 ladies were both amazing actresses and singers. They sang 33 songs from the late 50’s and late 60’s in the second act. The orchestra was hidden a curtain behind us and they were exceptionally talented.
The story line was perfectly integrated with the music, you would swear the songs were written especially for the play rather than the reverse.
We enjoyed every second of the performance, lots of laughs and great music and acting. Bravo to everyone involved.
We have tickets Sunday afternoon for “The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie, a murder mystery. Lots of great reviews and can’t wait to see Jason Ross again as he stole the show in “Damn Yankees” when we saw it 5 years ago.

This is one of my most favorite places in Cumberland County it's clean staff is helpful and information able I highly recommend

Smoke on the mountain was excellent! Funny serious musical, etc! Crew was the best! Haven't laughed like this in a long time! Nice people working there too! Everyone should visit it at least once!

My first trip to CCP was to see "A Chorus Line." Although the show wasn't my favorite...the actors/actresses, band and everyone involved were great!!!! The theater is an amazing venue that is very intimate. Nothing wrong with the show...I had never saw it...just wasn't my kind of play. But I cannot wait to return!!

Saw a delightful musical and am going back next month to see another production. Excellent facility and free parking right outside the door.

I have gone to many Broadway plays. Some plays I have seen on Broadway and at the Cumberland county playhouse. They do a fantastic job. The play Chicago was better here in Crossville. Mary Poppins was great at both and so on. The price and hospitaliy is much finer at the CCP. Don't miss the great concerts.

We saw this play and it was wonderful. The talent of the individuals who were the actors and actresses was amazing. The costumes were one of the things that I enjoyed. The dresses the women wore for the different acts were so varied and beautiful. I would highly recommend going to see this play.

We loved our experience at the Playhouse. It was easy to find and accommodating for my mother who uses a walker. It is a smaller venue and there is no bad seat in the place. We saw Scrooge the Musical. The lead actor was amazing, and we learned from the people behind us, used to be on Broadway. She also told us that the cast is a mixture of locals and the traveling cast. The sound was great and even with the cast wearing clear masks, they were mic'd and easy to hear. The seats were older, but coming from the Chicago area, the Civic Opera has less comfortable and mush less legroom. Being 6 feet tall, I had plenty of room. The southern hospitality abounded. After your show, go out to the lobby to meet part of the local cast. This night we met Tiny Tim who was played by a little girl with an amazing voice.

Singing in the Rain was wonderful - they even had rain on the stage! May 2015
Mary Poppins - we took our granddaughter and she loved it! And so did we, even though she sang "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"for several days! June 2015
Chorus Line was not my favorite - but I personally prefer comedy or happy musicals. This story line is a bit on the unhappy side. Acting was superb by all the actors! August 2015
Fox in the Fairway was a fast moving, super funny comedy with only 6 actors. They had their comedic timing perfect! August 2015
The Amazing Kreskin -First half was really entertaining. After the intermission, it dragged. One of his feats - is that his check is hidden in the theater and if he doesn't find it - he doesn't get paid. August 2015

CCP hit the nail on the head with this play! Very entertaining and amazing cast selection. Love The Playhouse. We've visited several times and plan to continue visiting.

I have taken my church senior adult groups to see three different plays here and they have all been top notch! Hats off to the hosts, production crew and actors.

Great place, great shows. Check out the website to see what may be playing at time you will be visiting. Always a good time had by all.

This was my 5th visit to the Cumberland County Playhouse. The performances are always great & all the seats offer a good view.
Today we saw "Beautiful" The Carole King Musical. A great tribute to Carole, highlighting all the great 60's songs she & her husband Gerry wrote at the Brill Building in New York City. Also her solo 70's career that produced the Grammy winning Tapestry album. The cast was amazing & Miss Heather McCall, as Carole, knocked it out of the park!

Quaint little local playhouse. I saw hairspray. Wonderful production. Light snacks and drinks at a reasonable price. New seats. Very tightly packed rows.

Great play but there was a woman who worked there who was very rude! My dad has trouble hearing and he had his phone with him because he was using his phone to hear it and trying to see what they were saying! She needed an attitude adjustment. I do not plan on going back anytime soon! I live far away from there thank God for that!!!

The playhouse is a local treasure. Every show I've attended in 7 years was outstanding. I was not expecting a playhouse of this quality when I moved to the area.

Cumberland County Playhouse is always great. I have seen several shows here (they have a large and small stage). Web site is easy to purchase tickets. You can choose your seats. Avoid the first three rows (too close to the stage and causes you to look up a show. Seat at end of outside rows have direct site to stage (no one in front of you) You can not beat the price. Most of the time ii is around $25 for adult. and about half price for kids. Local talent is good. They seem to bring in a lot of very good young talent from out of town who need to build a resume. Saw Chorus Line and voices were outstanding. Many of these kids will land Broadway shows later in career.

My son & I have been to several shows here over the years. (he's now 12 I'm 62) Never seen a show we didn't Love !! It's important to him to get his program signed and he's seldom been disappointed here. There's no such thing as a bad seat in this intimate playhouse. I've tried several just to see. Everyone is friendly. Even interaction from the stage is possible. That's why my son prefers the first row. There's often times the whole place becomes alive with action coming from all directions throughout the theater. Come to the Cumberland Playhouse and see for yourself !!

We have been taking sr adults to the playhouse for several years and have never seen a bad play the performers are great the ride is beautiful it's a grat way to spend the day

Pleasantly surprised by level of acting and staging. As good as an of Broadway show found in east Tennessee.

We found the Playhouse while browsing the internet and gave them a call. We purchased tickets to the premiere performance of "A CHORUS LINE." Seating was great, audio was perfect and the cast was energetic and really, really good.
They have two or three shows running during the same time period; some for kids and others for adult. All are rated like a movie, PG, etc.
If you are in the Crossville, TN area try and make a stop at the Playhouse. It is a great venue and well worth the visit.

We've visited the CCP a few times over the past few years, and have always enjoyed our time! We saw The Addams Family and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Even though it feels like it is in the middle of nowhere, the talent and production quality are top notch! It's worth the 2 hour drive! Go support the arts! You won't be disappointed!!

We went to see Signing In the Rain, Smoke, and Mary Poppins. They were outstanding. The Playhouse is one reason we vacation on Crossville every year. We will be coming back in October just to attend the playhouse. We have seen Smoke 12times and still enjoy it. If you like good theater you should go to Crossville, TN. It compares well with Broadway, the London stage and Las Vegas. It is hard to believe an actor can be in three plays at the same tome and do them well.

I have been to see many plays and musicals here and have never been disappointed. I have been bringing my children since they were little and other family members and friends . No one has been disappointed. Good family friendly fun

I took my kiddos to see the local production of the Little Mermaid. It was a wonderful production which the kids and adults alike loved! We were actually there in July 2016, but this was not an option provided. :D

Paid $20 for four bags of microwaved popcorn and four bottled waters. So expectations for the performance were low. Wow! What a performance (The Little Mermaid)! Great stage sets! And to top it off, my daughters were able to take pictures with Ariel after the show. My family will definitely return.

I took my 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters to see little mermaid and it was the best ever... Great seating and the faces on my lil granddaughters were priceless and worth millions!!

I took my daughter to see Matilda. We drove about an hour and it was definitely worth it! The play was terrific! The playhouse itself is older and quaint, there are basic concessions and a good variety of restaurants to hit either before or after the play in Crossville. I plan to take my entire family to a play in the future. The productions seem to be top notch. Tickets aren't cheap, but not terribly pricey. I will say, I didn't know what to expect since it was my first time being there, but the auditorium itself was a little smaller and older than I would have expected. However, this didn't detract from our experience at all. We will be back!

The people are absolutely marvelous. The performers were excellent, Just an all around great experience

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory was the production which we were entertained with. Fabulous production
Very affordable for the whole family

My wife and two sons just went to see The Hunchback of Notre Dame Saturday night and are so glad that we did!!! What a great show. The cast was amazing and so talented!! I would highly recommend and definitely go back the next we visit Crossville!!!!

Our regional theater gets an A+. I grew up in NYC seeing broadway shows since a child. Cumberland County Playhouse is a theatrical gem. Excellent productions with a splendid residence team of actors who are so versatile. We go there frequently. Great value at low prices. We are patrons since we want this theater to succeed & thrive. A must do if you are within traveling distance.

A top notch playhouse that exceeded my expectations. A professional quality with excellent actors and play. Have plays in afternoon and evenings. Chairs are the most comfortable in the afternoon venue but don't know about the main auditorium. Liked the up close afternoon venue no matter where you sit. Cost reasonable at $25 compared to many theater shows. Recommend they advertise their exact address for GPS purposes.

We went with another couple to see Legally Blonde. While it is basically a chick play musical, it was enjoyable. The actors were very good and I even noticed a young man in the play that I had in middle school. We arrived 15 minutes before curtain time and the parking lot was full. I would suggest you get there earlier. We will return to see another play soon.

I have been going here annually for a number of years. Not living in the immediate area, I plan this well in advance. Before Christmas, I scheduled a visit for this August. The show was canceled. By them. Not me. They badly wanted me to reschedule so as to keep my money. That was not feasible. Reluctantly, I was told I would get a refund. But that was then just ignored. I had to go through the hassle of dealing with it through the card issuer. I will never set foot in this place again. Be careful about doing advance planning here.

We didn't have big expectations of a play in a small country town but we were delighted with the production. We saw "The Foreigner", there were 7 of us and we all laughed out loud during the performance. It was well done and a very nice theater.

We have attended numerous performances by the Cumberland County Playhouse including comedies, musicals, and dramas. Voices are strong and the comedic talent enormous. Any time we have visitors to the area, we usually take them for a play. Many have come back for more. Pricing is reasonable for live theater and parking is free and easy. Seats all have good visibility in both theaters. We love our little theater!

I am beyond excited to find this playhouse in Crossville where we have just moved to! I have attended 3 different performances within the last year and have been thoroughly entertained by wonderful plays. There are two stages; one being smaller and more intimate for small casts and comedy and one large stage and seating for more elaborate performances. Both are equally wonderful. There is a concession stand, ample restroom facilities, gift shop and large parking area. The actors are professional as is the scenery, lighting and sound. I would highly recommend this Playhouse!

The Addam's Family was unbelievably excellent. we visit the playhouse whenever at Wyndham Fairfield Glade. great productions and talent.

We attended a matinee, they did a great job of limiting the number of people and allowing us to social distance while watching the play. The play that we saw Clue was done very well and the actors were excellent. Would definitely attend again if in the area.

We were in town for a few days and saw two outstanding shows at this adorable playhouse. We saw both "Red, White & Tuna" and "Matilda, the musical." Both shows were very well done and better than we expected. Quality performances and production made this a great experience.

I have been attending musicals and plays here for decades. Everything I have seen has been wonderful! No, the building/theater is not NYC Broadway fancy but the performances are right up there with the performances I have seen in NYC and other traveling Broadway shows.

After seeing "The play that goes wrong", my stomach hurt from laughing so much. The actors were GREAT! The play "Little Shop of Horrors" was another GREAT performance. The staging was fantastic. The "Twitty and Lynn" performance by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn's grandchildren is a performance all country music fans should see. Not only is the solo and duet singing enjoyable but so are the stories about their grandparents. These 3 shows are typical of the excellent quality Cumberland County Playhouse always produces.

This was a very Funny Presentation by the cast of the Playhouse ! We always enjoy the shows and plan on seeing "Holiday Inn". This is Great entertainment & fine acting for a reasonable price !

We have Season Passes to this wonderful theatre as they offer top-quality performances. There's something offed within each season of productions to please patrons from elementary age until death. We attended MADAGASCAR last week and as usual felt it was fabulous. Many times the cast is available for meet and greet which is a thrill for our daughter with DS.

We enjoyed viewing Boeing Boeing yesterday afternoon. It was impressive quality theatre. We highly recommend it.

Quite a remarkable venue to be found in a small rural town and county. The theater has a full year's schedule of shows...check out their annual schedule of shows and sign up for their mailing list.

Want to see Savannah sipping society with a large group of women. It was in the smaller theater which is very cozy and close to the stage. Delightful production, beautiful set, and as always, worth the money.

Learned a lot about a family classic. Lovely rendition. Costumes were well done. Cast were all spectacular. Very pleasant outting.

Always fun! Very fair prices
Always free parking!
We enjoy musicals with wonderful voices and talented dancers!
Enjoy!

We love the Cumberland County Playhouse and often drive from Cincinnati to see plays and musicals . The shows never disappoint. Today we saw Bright Star which I believe is the best we have ever seen here. The vocals, the band, the acting, the staging, and the script were superb! Kudos to the cast and director.

We enjoy seeing broadway and local stage productions and we found the Cumberland County Playhouse about 20 years ago on vacation to Crossville. We were lucky enough to move to the area about 10 years ago and have come to the Playhouse to enjoy some great entertainment. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive to get there, but, it is time well spent to get and see well produced shows with great actors and actresses.
The playhouse has to main stages; one is large to accommodate scenery and the other is smaller for one sets to work for the entire show. One would think...how could a good show be done on one stage set....but they do a terrific job.
The players for the playhouse are truly talented and many come from the local area and some have a lot of experience including (I believe) broadway...and most have experience from college plays or other theater groups.
All of the shows have an intermission and you can go to the rest room and get a snack in their concession stand. You can bring your refreshments into the theater.
You never have to worry about not finding your seat as the theater has ushers to take you to your seats. They are friendly and polite and most can tel you wonderful facts about the history of the playhouse and some neat history of the actors and the plays that have been performed.
They do a magnificent job on "Smoke On The Mountain and Sanders Family Christmas". They have done comedies, drama and concerts and special events. But, regardless of the show you can be guaranteed you will leave with the feeling that your money and time was well spent.
What is nice about getting your tickets is you can do all of the purchasing and get seating all on the same website. It is easy and saves a lot of time. You order and pay for your tickets and puck them up at the theater.
So if you are ever in Crossville TN i would encourage you to stop off at the theater and catch a show.

We've attended numerous productions at the Cumberland County Playhouse, one of the biggest, best-attended venues of its kind. Most recently we saw Singing in the Rain, and other than being seated at the end of a row where we could see into the wings but only about 2/3 of the stage, enjoyed it. Most of the performances were wonderful, especially considering multiple roles were played by a number of the actors. Choreography was impressive, as were most of the dancers. Less than stellar was a vocal male solo, character not named, though the actor who sang it also carried several other parts perfectly well. Especially impressive, the production does have the hallmark of the film, actual water falling on the stage in the title number. How did they do it? Theatrical magic! A play about movies, about creating a world of fantasy and beauty, about progress, about love? That and more. Go to Crossville, go to CCP.

This was my first trip to this theater. We saw Smoke on the Mountain....what talent! It was one of the best musicals I've seen in a while! The theater itself is amazing. Small stage that is at floor level with seating at same level. The rest of the seating is "stadium" style, and there is NO bad seat anywhere! Lots of railings for safety, and there were many people working there to help. Ladies room was clean and there was not a long wait during intermission. Snack bar also had enough help so no one had to wait very long to purchase something. I was very impressed with the whole experience. If you have not been at this theater, I highly recommend going there and especially to see Smoke on the Mountain.....and there is plenty of parking too.

This was the first time we visited the Cumberland Playhouse and thoroughly enjoyed the play, "Lying in State". The actors were very professional and gave a great performance. All the characters were interesting and funny but Margo was the star of the show. Would definitely go back to see another production.

My sis in law and I went to see Singing in The Rain Musical at the Cumberland County Playhouse while on vacation in May 2015. While I thought it would be great entertainment I was really not prepared for such a production. The singing and dancing was superb and they actually had it rain on stage during the song Singing in the Rain. The playhouse itself was a piece of art. It made you feel welcome almost if it were alive. To say I was impressed, yessss. If you are in or near the Crossville, TN area, you really need to put this one on your to do list.

Great acting, singing and overall experience. The expressions of the actors was quite outstanding. We laughed a lot,got into the story and loved the music. I highly recommend this experience.

There is some amazing talent in this small town! We went to two productions and laughed the whole time! Tickets were reasonable for a live production. If you are in these parts check it out for sure!

My wife and I went to see production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” at this theatre. The seating was great and there did not appear to be a bad seat in the venue. The actors and actresses were all outstanding. The singing and dancing were excellent. The set and costumes were first rate. This is truly a treasure of the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee.

I was amazed when we first moved to Crossville that it had a Theatre as well as a Playhouse. we have seen many plays here and I have to say the talent would easily rival New York stage plays that I have seen!

How can there be this much talent in a local playhouse in Crossville TN ?
Saw "Singing in the Rain" there today for very reasonable price.
Singing, dancing and acting were all great, and I can't stand musicals!
If you like musicals you will really enjoy this place!

Maybe the best kept secret in the south. The theater is so cozy. Not a bad seat in the house. The performances are absolutely out of this world. It is amazing the talent you see in this small rural area. They are such a class act!

We were there just before the Holidays and saw A Sanders Family Christmas. The actors were all very entertaining. I am an outdoor person and just not into this type of entertainment. I know this is a major attraction for the town of Crossville and I would suggest you give it a try if that's what you like. I'll stick to hiking and kayaking.

I have attended several performances over the years and have NEVER been disappointed. The theater is small and intimate and not a bad seat in the place. The actors while usually locals are high quality and professional. The scenery is on par with bigger budget shows on Broadway. Trust me if you are ever in the area, be sure to check out on of the truly magical places in the Upper Cumberland.

Awesome! The level of talent was exceptional.
The refreshment area covered the basics.
The shop area was very limited but that is expected for attending this type of venue.

My mother and I went to see The Little Mermaid. We loved it! The playhouse cast is obviously having a great time. Great for a family outing.

The productions never disappoint. Always spectacular!!! The staff is so helpful and the popcorn is the best!

It was very funny and we really enjoyed it....best one I have seen there..the singing, acting, and Musical talent was superb...

What a find of talented individuals and small town acting for an entertaining afternoon. While many tour buses and charters may fill the audiance it was a great time spent in a fun afternoon unwinding.

Just saw Little Mermaid. Wonderful production. Great voices and music. We are passing through town on our way to Nashville. Planned a stop here just to see the play. We were here before and saw Annie Get Your Gun, so we new it would be a great show.

What a Great Play and Presentation ! You had to keep your eyes moving around the stage to see all the reactions from and about different comments, situations and from the characters ! So FUN ! Great Acting and we will be back for more !

We have attended many performances at the playhouse and have never been disappointed. It's a jewel in our area. The last show was Million Dollar Quartet and it was excellent. We had seen it in Nashville and this show was as good if not better.

I had heard that Cumberland County Playhouse was in the top five rural playhouses in the country, and I found this to be the truth after seeing "Greener Pastures" by Lori Fischer. This play had fantastically witty writing with lots of extremely humorous one liners delivered by professional actors with perfect timing. The set was fitting with the smallest of details. We ordered our tickets online from another state, traveled several hours to Cumberland Country Playhouse, picked up our tickets, and were even given a tour by one of the ushers, all of whom VOLUNTEER. They even had live piano music before the play. It was simply lovely, and I would recommend it to anyone, especially if they have plays like "Greener Pastures." What a great time. Laughter is good for the soul, and this play delivered!!!

Went to watch my niece in a dance and song performance. The play house is awesome I have been there more than once . Seats are nice and the viewing space is large enough for you to see from all angles.

Had a wonderful time with friends. Great play, talented cast. Really warm and friendly staff. Christmas play enjoyed with close friends.

Not what I expected at all even though it was PG rated, I expected a little adult humor, but instead it was Woke ideas.
Looking at other past reviews, one person noted the Christmas play continually put down Christians. I can’t recommend because the choice of plays even though the actors were great!

If you ever have any thoughts of going to see a play at this place, don't hesitate to go! You will laugh and at one or two points, you might just cry. Pay close attention, even to the actors not talking, the facial expressions will tear you up. Go see it, or any play they do.

We saw Some on the Mountain. The cast was exceptional! The theater has 2 stages and we saw it on the smaller of the two. There were a few small things that I would have changed for personal preference, but definitely would recommend the show for people who can appreciate local productions.

If you enjoy live theater and musical performances, check out this place in Crossville. It is about an hour from me, but well worth the drive. Great theater for families, groups and kids. Good atmosphere and always a good performance. There are mulitple stages and all are small, with not a bad seat in the house. Community theater at its best!

I skipped this place the first several times I visited the area and that was a huge mistake. The several shows I have seen here ranged from musicals to comedy plays and I would pay to see each again. Wonderful cast and a great experience at a family run playhouse that has been here for decades. Good for all ages.

Somewhat disappointed in the experience. We flew in to visit family and to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated in row F, although the ushers had difficulty finding our seats. Our view was less than perfect - obstructed by side props. We sat in old and uncomfortable seats. Also very concerned about safety since the side aisle is blocked by something that looks like an extension of a side stage. The props were very simple and home-made. Concession stand served a bag of cold microwave popcorn. The sound system was similar to experiencing a high school production. "Donna" and "Harli" have powerful voices that could have been fantastic in a different venue. We experienced some very talented performers; specifically Harli, Kelleye, Britt, Mason, Joseph, Aaron, and Blake. The actors and dancers deserve so much more than performing in such primitive and unprofessional conditions.

Absolutely the best in all of Tennessee. I've been numberous times and never been disappointed. You see professionals at a discount price. I highly reccommend this for any age!!

Smoke on the Mountain celebrated its 25th year of being performed at the Cumberland County Playhouse in 2018, but the last performance was on August 10. My daughter's family had never seen any play being performed at the Cumberland County Play House, so I splurged and bought tickets for a May performance. The ticket office reserved front row floor seating for my parents and me so we actually became a tiny part of the play. My daughter's family set just behind us. My parents and I had seen this particular play at least twice previously, but we enjoyed it all over again. The cast members were all talented actors, singers and musicians (playing multiple instruments) I have seen several musicals and comedies at the playhouse, but I think Smoke on the Mountain will always be my personal favorite. I'm glad I was able to get the 4 generations together for this one.

We saw “lying in state” last night, a comedy about politics. Was written 12 years ago, but could apply to today’s politics as well. The audience laughed heartily and often. Come see this troupe at work—you’ll be glad you did. They offer a wide variety of entertainment.

The Playhouse is well respected throughout the nation. It is ranked in the top ten of similar venues. Performances are always the best due to the cast, crew and technicians staging the event. They also offer various classes in the performing arts which are well attended.

Just attended production of In-laws and out-laws. It was very good. A different kind of
Christmas story with a comedy twist and a happy ending. The actors were all very good and I enjoyed the program.
The building itself needs some upgrades. The lobby has uneven flooring. The audience on the day I attended had a high percentage of seniors and I was concerned for their safety. Also the auditorium has folding chairs with some on the floor seating with many seat up stairs with hand rails. The ushers were very vigilent about the tricky ups and downs while seating people. It is a shame that the quality of the building does not match the quality of the performers.

We were in the area for a family vacation. We saw an ad for the playhouse and made plans to go. We had 10 of us and saw Smoke on the Mountain. Great show! Singing acting all top notch. Very funny on the floor laughing. Will return next year

Bright Star is an excellently performed play. It has all the emotions portrayed to perfection.
The stage set was amazing from floor to ceiling. A great play for all adults.

Went to see Red, White and Tuna and this play totally ridiculed Christians through out the play. It was a two person show with a man and a women playing men and women interchangably. There were funny parts, but A
almost fell asleep multiple times as the play dragged on and on. I have seen a couple of plays here before, but this will be the last play I ever see there. The seats we had were close to the stage but were very narrow and uncomfortable. A man with terrible BO sitting next to us didn't help and that was certainly not the fault of the playhouse.

As part of a group from Knoxville (Bearden) we attended "Boeing, Boeing" and were thrilled with the great job all the participants did to entertain us on a Sunday afternoon. We have not laughed that had in ages. Glad the intimate room was packed! Can't wait to come here again.

We saw the 2:30 pm showing of "Grease." Coming from someone who saw the original Broadway Play over half a century ago, I can assure you that this performance was every bit as good! We bought these tickets months ago and I'm glad we did because it was a sell-out and those front row seats were an unbelievable vantage point! Kudos to the entire cast!

Expecting a small venue, we were pleasantly surprised with very nice sets with tons of musical and acting talent. Headlined by Kelleye Cash (Johnny Cash great neice)Mama Mia was very entertaining. At $25 per ticket it was lots of fun....will return.

We just saw Boeing Boeing and earlier in the year The Marvelous Wonderettes.
This playhouse is amazing ! The talent and shows are superb!
When moving here last fall we heard from both old and young that this place was special. We are thrilled to have such a great playhouse in our local area.
Yeah Crossville !!

This may be located in a small town, but it's been said to equal Broadway productions. These actors and actresses are the best; many have been here for years. My only complaint is that they keep the seating area much too cold; I always wear a coat. I quit buying season tickets because of this. I still go to new productions though.

When we bought out tickets the only ones available were on the side. Don't ever get those as we couldn't see all of the stage and the speaker box for the music was so loud we couldn't hear what the actors said some of the time.

We loved the theater and the show. So much talent on the stage. Scenery and singing was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the dancing! The show was well worth the price of admission.

I had the opportunity to come to Crossville again and see another play with my family. The play was Mary Poppins. It was as Mary would put it practically perfect in every way. I loved the way they worked in lighting, sound, costumes, and other elements to make so magical. I was lucky enough to see my favorite lobby performer too. He really set the mood for the show dressed as a chimney sweep and playing Mary Poppins songs. This teen even took spontaneous audience requests. My family was already humming Step In Time before we even took our seats.

We've been there several times & enjoyed the shows every time. If you live stage performances you'll definitely like the play house.

Love the Cumberland County Playhouse!! We saw "Smoke on the Mountain". It was a great!! So much talent on one stage!!

My wife and I attended the production of the MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and we're giving it a million dollar review! Every bit as good as the Las Vegas production. Great characters and great acting!!!

We haven't been to the playhouse in many years. The performance was excellent and the cast was amazing. The seating however is very close so go knowing that. We will definitely go back.

Went with a group to see "Mama Mia" and the show was terrific, probably one of the best musicals I've ever seen. People in the group who'd seen the traveling Broadway production of the same show said Cumberland's version was better.
One thing kept me from giving it 5 stars. It's the layout of the facility. It's kind of congested getting in and out. But the biggest thing is there's a weird double step up to get into each row of seats. The ushers warn you about them but it's easy to not understand or to forget. I almost fell getting out to go to the restroom. Then at the end of the show, an elderly woman did fall and she knocked down an elderly man. Someone could easily get hurt.
They do a terrific job and I would go see another show there but please be careful on the step up into the rows of seats.

I had the pleasure of watching the production of Greener Pastures on my way to the mountains with family. It was such a refreshingly funny story. Everything rolled into one. I was overwhelmed by humor, satire, emotion and all that really touched a nerve in my own personal life at 50+. My 19-year-old daughter also found it relatable from her perspective. So much fun.

The plays here are top notch! We especially love to see the junior playhouse plays! The kids are very professional and talented.

Our senior adult group visits the playhouse several times each year. This trip we saw Mama Mia. It was great! The performers were very talented and the sets were very nice. The performance was sold out - not an empty seat in the house! We love the Cumberland County Playhouse!

Great way to spend an afternoon. The actors were charming and pulled you right into
the play. Seats were snug. We saw the play in the small theater. We saw Smoke on the Mountain. Would love to go back and see another play. They did offer refreshments for purchase.

My wife & I have been twice now. First time we watched Mary Poppins, the second The Little Mermaid. Both times were so good! Very entertaining! Several of my other family members have been to see Christmas shows & several other plays such as To Kill a Mocking Bird. None of them have ever left without having a great time! Go! You won't be disappointed!

Flawlessly professional productions in a small-town venue! Comedy, drama, ballet, music, musicals marvelously presented. Attended many productions.. never been less than thoroughly entertained!

Stopped here while driving between Nashville and Asheville to break up the trip. Very reasonable prices for a very professional performance. If you are mobility impared, pay attention to the floor as it's kinda of funky with a slope and a step down. Also getting to some of the seats could be a challenge. However, just ask for a seat without steps and you will be fine.

Big city quality productions in a small town. People from faraway come to see these great shows. We always get season passes and are never disappointed.

Took in an afternoon play. Small theater so every seat is great! Definitely a thing to do in this area. We saw Smoke on the Mountain. Very entertaining comedy musical that has been playing 20 + years. Actors are a combination of local and all over US. Theater type refreshments but not theater prices. Everyone working there appeared to be volunteers who lived their jobs. Well worth the visit.

My husband and I attended the 11:00 am show of "Greener Pastures". The main character was a singing sandwich. I kid you not. I knew when it started that we were in trouble when a sandwich, BBQ sauce man, bacon woman, egg woman and horse man started the show that it was not gonna be good. It was terrible. We had heard some very good compliments saying that some of the actors were Broadway quality and decided to give it a try since the weather was cold and rainy. The tickets were $44 for 2 with a $10 Wyndham discount. The actors consisted of about 8 people and the sound had problems. You could see that they had other clothing layered and was tucked incorrectly. Take a jacket if you go. It was cold and very uncomfortable. We love to attend a local theater in Red Bay, AL and the quality there is flawless and the tickets are only $8 each. No comparison to this play.

Have been to the Playhouse many times but just saw Red White and Tuna on closing night! It was a good comedy with two actors who always give it their all and whom I’ve seen perform a lot thru the years. Very well done and fun!

This is a great local theater. This was a play in the small theater and it was very well done. The characters were funny and personable. Good place to visit when in the area.

We went to see Legally Blonde last weekend. It is excellent!!! The singers and dancers were as good as those on Broadway. The play is showing until September.
Worth going to see

We absolutely loved Cumberland County Playhouse's production of The Sparkley Clean Funeral Singers by Lori Fischer and Don Chaffer! Junie (played by Lori Fischer) had us laughing and crying! Wonderful music and lyrics kept us on the edge of our seats so we wouldn't miss a word.

We always enjoy the productions at the playhouse. Surprizingly professional and entertaining. Many of the young people have studied dance there for many years and they have great ballet guest performers. The Nutcracker is a wonderful event to get in a holiday spirit.

We went to a matinee of Secret Garden and do not have any hearing problems but 4 of us had the most difficult time hearing the main character, Mary's dialogue which had us lost understanding a good portion of the play. AT THE INITERMISSION I spoke with the ticket counter and the gentlemen running the sound controls in the theater to no avail. I spoke with other people around us and they all had the same negative experience with the sound. We had good seats, center right. If you want to charge $25 + per ticket upgrade the quality of the sound.

What a hidden gem! We had the opportunity to see "Smoke On The Mountain" during our vacation, and it did not disappoint. This small local theater has some BIG talent. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this production. The actors were all so funny and talented. It was a hoot!! If you're ever in the area, put this on your "must-see" list.

Small local theater with above average productiions. Professional actors headline, supported by local talent. Musicals quite good. Not Broadway, but well woth the price of admission.

We went to the afternoon matinee today and it was wonderful. We had reserved our seats months ago before we arrived in Crossville and are so glad we came here. It was a superb performance by the actors and we saw Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat which was a musical and the singing was really good. This group of actors deserves a standing ovation for a job beautifully done. We would highly recommend this theater if you are in down as we will return whenever we visit Crossville in the future.

I have not seen one play that I didn't enjoy. The comedies are usually laugh out loud performances and the musicals are just wonderful. Impressive for a small town theate.r

The Cumberland County Playhouse is a wonderful place to go. We really enjoyed a show this summer and recommend it highly! It's called GREEN PASTURES, a very funny comedy by Lori Fischer. Everything was first class: Great story line, Actors, Scenery, Music, Refreshments and Comedy! Folks who are visiting middle Tennessee will all enjoy attending this theatre ...The Cumberland County Playhouse.. hat's off to Trip Advisor for recommending this timeless treasure!

Just saw Mamma Mia and loved the music, costumes and the talented actresses and actors and the students too. It was a great evening out with friends and we all had a wonderful time.
These shows compare to NY, Boston and other Performance Centers, for a fraction of the cost and a most Amazing staff her at CCP. When we have visitors we always bring them here for a play. A must see throughout the year, for young and old too!!

We saw an afternoon performance and it was a sellout. The play was very funny and the performance by the actors was flawless! I especially loved the characters Buttons and Margo!
The theatre was too warm because they were having air conditioner issues, but despite that, it was still a five.

what a happy place. the performances given by the playhouse actors and actresses are amazing. never a poor performance. we leave happy everytime we see a show

The title to my review is actually the name of a fund raiser that the Cumberland County Playhouse is using to acquire a funding grant, but it rather aptly describes what this theater is all about. This is a truly professional resident theater located in this small city. There are two stages a smaller thrust /arena stage and a full sized prosecenium (traditional) stage. The acting is great as is the music, lighting and scenic design. This is a first rate facility. It is well run by a loyal group of volunteers augmenting the professional staff. There is plenty of parking, accessibility, and a gift shop. My wife and I saw two shows on a recent trip. The "church Basement Ladies" and "Willie Wonka". Both were quite enjoyable musicals. You may want to consider getting reservations early since there are numerous bus tours who apparently stop here. For seniors the theater has a unique service where hearing aids can sync with the theater sound system so that you get a direct hook up. Well worth the trip!

This was our 2nd visit to Crossville and we were able to see two shows this year. Both shows ,“All Shook Up” and “The Play that Goes Wrong,” were outstanding. The depth of the casting and the quality of the directing and staging are simply astounding. This is a Broadway quality playhouse masquerading as a community theater. No matter what is playing when you visit, just go- if you can get a seat.

Last year my wife and I were ask to attend the Walk the Line play about Johnny Cash. I must say it was a pleasant surprise so captivating. I had been there a couple of times on elementary school trips when I was younger. Can't believe I waited so long to go there again and I only live 3 miles from the Playhouse. I highly recommend to all age groups.

07/01/2022 The play was “On Golden Pond located in Crossville, Tennessee.
We were on vacation at Fairfield Glade and was looking for something to do indoors and get out of the heat.
This play was just the ticket…
The location of the theater was about 15 miles from our time share.
They have multiple venues. We were in the smaller of the two . Very cozy and close to the action. The sound system was excellent. The play was very reasonable for the quality of the actors.
I was only rows away from the action and I felt immersed in the acting and the storyline.
The actors were all excellent and very believable in their roles.
It is worth your time to see a show.
The box office is closed on Wednesdays.
You can buy your tickets on line.
The unusual thing for me was the showtimes. We saw the play at 1:00 pm on a Friday.

I have been to 3 or 4 plays this year and this playhouse dies not disappoint. The plays are superior. The actors are professional and the sets are amazing for this intimate venue. There is not a bad seat in the house.

We went to a Sunday matinee with a group of about 30 from our neighborhood. This particular play was about golf..."Fox on the Fairway" I think.....but that doesn't matter since you will see something else.
What does matter is that this is a nice little theater seating a couple of hundred people, so everyone is lose to the players, and from my small sample the plays are well done and worth seeing.
This is not a strictly local amateur production...the actors were all experienced and did a more than credible job. Many of the plays presented here are are the "who's who" of popular theater...Cats, A Chorus Line, Bye Bye Birdie, etc.
There is also a music series here...most of the acts seem to be country and western.
So...if you are in the area, or live in a nearby city (we are outside of Knoxville) look up the website, find something you like, and spend an enjoyable afternoon or evening...
Lots of fun!

We attended two plays while in Crossville. The one In the big stage was excellent (Nuptials). The other (Funeral home) was just fair. The stage person did not know how to operste the lights.

We went to see Fire on the Mountain. 1 person had already seen a few years before. The weather was gorgeous. We had to bring our own chair. Seating spots were limited and circled were chalked on the ground for each group. Reservations only show. I believe everyone had a good view of stage and the sound system was quite good. The show was ok not as great as do many others I have seen here. The singers were excellent but the acting seemed a bit off & story line a bit different too. It was just nice to sit outdoors and enjoy some entertainment. We agreed we would do this again with a different show if it was available. This Playhouse has always filled the bill when it comes to great entertainment.

No bad seats in the house. We got tickets one week in advance and place was sold out. It was a great show and the talent amazing.

I have experienced this Playhouse several times. I have enjoyed it each time. Very friendly staff, reasonably priced and a great evening.
Don't miss it!

Went to see "Perils of Pinocchio" with my wife and five kids. It was a fun and engaging small musical production and great exposure for my kids to live theater.
I expected more of a community theater feel, but was surprised by the breadth of the production. It had a large cast and many really talented members. The lighting effects and sound were top notch and a real testament to the quality of the production.
The theater itself was comfortable and clean. The ushers and staff were friendly and personable. The grounds around the theater were perfect for my kids to run around during intermission or for us to have a little picnic if we get there well in advance of the show.
Thanks to all involved with the theater in Crossville. I hope to return next time I come to town.

Imagine our surprise to discover Broadway quality talent in a small town theatre! We saw Sister Act, and were absolutely blown away by the calibre of the performances. The actors are professionals. Their voices are remarkable. The play itself was hilarious, much funnier than I anticipated it being. Illeana Kirvin is a comedic master and her timing is perfect. Lauren Marshall has a voice that feels as if the roof might just lift off! The chemistry of the cast is magical. The atmosphere of the theatre is fun and comfortable. There is someone to help you find your seat, or help with any other needs you may have. Make sure you visit this wonderful little hidden gem if you are anywhere near this area. I anticipate some of these folks will make their way to Broadway very very soon.

I had seen Smoke on the Mountain twice before at the Cumberland Co Playhouse and wanted to take my sister who was visiting to see the play also. This production was absolutely superb.. The play was very funny, the music was excellent, and there was also a good message. The actors were very talented as they could all play the numerous instruments. They also encouraged the audience to sing along with some of the hymns.

If you're in the area you must plan on making time to attend a play Here!
Amazing talent! Whether you're a child or a senior you will be entertained with the music and actors. Refreshments are available during intermission. You will be glad you went. Treat the kids.

I have seen several plays and have never been disappointed! Then a group of friends went to see Riders in the Sky - what a great time we had, the show was wonderful!

This is one place I visit every year. The quality of the productions that I have seen is first rate. I will mention that I prefer comedies. They do musicals and dramas but I have not yet seen those.

I would have given this place five stars were the facility refreshed with new seats, that's how picky I'm being here and just how great this venue really is. If you like theatre, good theatre, then you will love Cumberland County Playhouse. The cast is always top-notch, the plays well performed, the backgrounds excellently executed, and the truly isn't a bad seat in the house. More than worth the ticket price.

I was able to see the production Beauty and the Beast and I was so amazed at how everything turned out. The actors could be on Broadway in my opinion. I loved it and the actors were kind to do a few pictures after the production.

If you enjoy theater arts, CCP is the best thing you'll find in Crossville. With a new playlist each year, CCP has a great selection - something for everyone - offering matinees and evening shows. Comedy, drama, Disney and musicals, the choices are endless. Look them up on Facebook and reserve your seat to match your visit. The two theaters are both small, but this allows for up-close-and-personal viewing while you enjoy snacks from the concession stand our gift shops.

Wonderful location for plays and musicals. We were disappointed in the seating quality. The seats felt old and not comfortable at all! Padding is worn out.
But venue to great and this playhouse does provide a variety of entertainment so everyone can enjoy something throughout the year. Pricing is also reasonable with different discounts available; groups, senior, military, etc.

Just enjoyed a great show. Very professional !! Was amazed at the sets and costumes and makeup. The experience was transporting to the mind of the author.

If you have never been to the Cumberland playhouse you need to go. We saw a very funny play "Southern Fried Wedding ". It was two hours of fun with no profanity! That's hard to find these days. This was our second time to go. We saw "Smoke on the Mountain " a couple of years ago. We will certainly be returning.

This is our 2nd time to attend a play at this location. Continues to be a welcome surprise. You will have to excuse the seating, its not fancy. Not a bad seat in the house. Order your tickets early. Our experience is that seats sell out. Appears that people are willing to travel to see the quality of the plays. This is no small town production and you will be glad you saw a show.

Really nice theater for musical and theatrical productions. Always provides a solid performance. We try to make several shows each season

We try to vacation at Fairfield Glade in the fall of each year. We always try to schedule our trip around the schedule of performances at Cumberland County Playhouse. This week we saw "Leading Ladies" and "The Buddy Holly Story". Both were fabulous. While this is Off-Broadway, the actors always do a great job entertaining the crowd. I'd just like to see more young people in the audience.
And, by the way, we appreciate that the concession stand doesn't price gouge for refreshments. The prices are always reasonable. Thank you for that!

What a beautiful and wonderful productionn. Recently moved to the area and had no idea there was such a treasure of the Cumberland County Playhouse. It will be a regular outing to see the plays they bring to us. Such a professional array of actors and singers. The stage and scenery were top notch. This is a must if you live near or traveling through Cumberland County Tennessee. Also, was amazed at the reasonable price of tickets. Truly a gem!!

This was our first time to the playhouse & it was great. The performance was better than we imagined it would be, we will definitely be returning for other shows.

This was the second time my husband and I visited the Cumberland County Playhouse. Both times were fantastic. We would go again and I highly recommend. We saw Inspecting Carol this time.

Crossville is SO lucky to have this wonderful playhouse. Plays attract people of all ages. This theater has been in business for 50 years.

Seen 25 -35 shows there over the years.
Never seen a bad one ! The Carbtree familiy know how to do it right every time.
One of my favorite is “Tennessee USA” but like I said there all done so professionally you can’t go wrong

We travel from Louisville Ky to watch the talented actors at this playhouse several times per year. It should be the main attraction for Crossville. We have discussed it several times with other hotel guest who never heard about the playhouse and can't thank us enough after attending.

First time to visit the Cumberland County Playhouse and this weekday was with a group tour. Really enjoyed presentation of "Red, White and Tuna" which has a cast of two actors (a man and woman) and they somehow manage to portray all the characters in the storyline. I do not know how they change outfits and get into character so quickly.

We attended opening night of "Million Dollar Quartet" while staying in the area. The energy, vocals, and musical performances were incredible. Lighting and costuming were also excellent. I will definitely check the performance schedule if we come back through the area.
There's not a bad seat in the house. Staff/volunteers were very friendly. Restrooms were adequate (no waiting) and there's a snack bar - and you can bring your drinks into the performance space. We were also informed that the performance space has a significant new $$ investment into a sound system for the hearing impaired - wonderful in a community that is growing in retirees.

Saw Sleepy Hollow. Fantastic production. Very professional and most enjoyable. The actors even came out after the play to meet the audience.

I feel the cost of seeing CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG JUNIOR is a bit steep. While it was a cute production (great set!!) and our daughter really enjoyed, the "critic" in me (having been involved in community theatre since 1969) was disappointed. The costuming could have been improved and some of the characterizations sharpened.I was impressed with the blocking as I realize how difficult a large cast may be. The dancing was brilliant!! Haven't been able to locate the date of the Actors Guild Fundraiser in December. We always look forward to it and appreciate all the hard work and time you all dedicate to the Playhouse!

We saw MIllion Dollar Quartet, such a great show, really enjoyed it, they change every few weeks, and have two theaters too

Taking in a play here is worth driving way out of your way to get here. We just saw Red White and Tuna which was hilarious and performed expertly. We have seen several plays here and have never seen a bad production. We live in Florida. The prices are very reasonable.

Whenever we get to TN we make sure we get tickets to a show (or 2, or 3) at the Cumberland County Playhouse. It never disappoints! Not a bad seat in the house! Love it, love it, love it !!!!

I've been there for many shows and I've never been disapointed. Ticket prices are worth every penny.

Best entertainment in Cumberland county. SINGING IN THE RAIN WAS GREAT! Always something special, very professional.

Totally delightful entertainment at a very affordable cost. Will definitely return every chance we get! !

Singing in Rain is superb performance! Try to beat off-Broadway! You haven't lived until you have attended a Cumberland County Playhouse performance.!

We live in Cincinnati and often drive to Crossville for a short vacation just so we can attend shows at the Playhouse. They never disappoint. And may I add that Rachel in the ticket office is very kind and accommodating. She goes out of her way to be helpful...customer service like we seldom see anymore. Nothing but positive things to say about our experiences there!

It is a very nice small venue, we were able to get last minute seats on the third row which were perfect. Any closer and we would have to look up at an awkward angle. All the lead actors in Legally Blonde were talented and matched to their roles. If we lived in the area we would have to consider season tickets. It is well worth a visit.

If you are looking for a wonderful evening out with great entertainment you will thrilled with the venue, the show, and the helpfulness of the friendly staff.

This repertoire theatre should not be missed if you are traveling across Tennessee on I-40 or driving north and south on I-75. Get off the beaten path and enjoy a high quality musical or dramatic production.

Saturday night at the playhouse!
Had a great time listening to 50’s & 60’s Rock and Roll.
Show lasted 2 1/2 hrs. and we had a blast!
Memory Road Revue completely entertained a full house. Hated it had to end.
If you are in Crossville, TN make plans to visit the Crossville Playhouse.
We will go again next time we stay in Crossville!

We took our 2 grand daughters. The theater is well set up. The actors and actresses are second to none. We had a fabulous time.

My husband and I have traveled to the Playhouse for many years to enjoy the great productions they have. All the actors seem like old friends. The productions are well produced and allow one to escape to a fun relaxing place away from the cares of the world. Highly recommend a visit. The Mousetrap and Ivy Gap were great!

We have gone many times to the Cumberland Playhouse. The latest outing was to see Mamma Mia and Lend Me A Tenor. As usual both were terrific and professionally done. What would a play be without the music of a great band and the Playhouse has one. For a great afternoon or evening out I would highly recommend the Playhouse. Be sure to make your reservations because they are usually booked.

My wife and I have vacationed in Crossville for many years, but had never gone to a play at the Playhouse. We decided we'd go this time and chose to see "Sister Act". Well, we've been to plays a lot of places, even Broadway, and this was every bit as good. The acting and the props were fantastic. The main character was amazing and very talented.
We'll definitely be going again the next time we are there.

Once again the cc playhouse has hit a home run! My grandchildren so enjoyed it. I'm taking another granddaughter in a few weeks it was so good. Don't miss this one. a fun, fun time.

Top notch production, as always! The kids in this production did an amazing job. Seating is very tight, though, so if you are larger than 5' 7", except to have your knees kinda in your chest. But, we know the theater is older, and expect it when we go.

We went to see The Secret Garden. Purchase tickets early online or by phone. People & groups in buses arrive early to pick up tickets so get there at least 45 minutes early. Very professional production. Started on time. Very entertaining.

Fairfield Glade Wyndham Resort recommended Cumberland County Playhouse as an activity for us to enjoy while in the area. We found it to be the highlight of our stay. We enjoyed the musical "Church Basement Ladies" and it was filled with fun and hilarity. The actors were truly in character and did a wonderful job of entertaining us all. Even though we were advised to call ahead, we took our chances and almost didn't get in. The house was sold out, but the ticket office advised us to hang around as some tickets would be released just before starting. Fortunately, for us, we were able to use two no show, reserved tickets. We will definately check for opportunites to see other plays when we are in the area next year.

Our friend suggested we attend when we were visiting. The show we saw was a delight! The actors were talented, professional and pulled off an amazing performance. A fun evening.

We were there for opening night to see Mamma Mia! The sets were awesome and the show very professional. It's easy to make reservations online and pick up tickets at will call. The distance from Nashville area is not bad and there are some nice waterfalls on the way. We always visit the VF outlet while in town.

Our Church Group went to see a performance of 'Smoke On The Mountain"
We all Loved it .It was very comfortable and we could all hear very well .
The actors were a True Blessing and we Laughed and Cried and Laughed
some more.. Anyone would enjoy the experience and I mean both Young and Old
We come again and again A lot of Good FUNNY

My first time at Cumberland County Playhouse. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. You are up close and personal with the people in play. The sound system is good and a nice feature for people with hearing aids as they no longer have to wear the headphones.

We typically see about 8 shows a year here and you can count on every show being terrific - as good as what we would see off Broadway in NY and for much less money.
Whenever anyone comes to visit we always take them to the Playhouse and all have commented on how good it is. There are 2 theater areas and it is impressive what they do with the stage setting in both.

The Theater was fine, older but OK. I want to give the kids and everyone that was in the show cudo's for effort, but I felt that I have to give a poor rating. I've been to other shows and for the price I felt that it was like going to a 5-6 grade Christmas program very disappointing.

This is a great Christmas Family Production that was extremely well performed and very entertaining.

Every time we are in Monterey TN we try to catch one of the plays CCP is offering. This time was "Smoke on the Mountains." This show was hilarious with excellent musical talent from all the artist involved in the show. We really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next time we come to see another great production.

Just moved to Fairfield Glade, TN and was thrilled to find a local playhouse in Crossville, TN. They have multiple plays and concerts during the year. Went to our first one last month, Smoke on the Mountain. First rate professional theatre. Have purchased multiple tickets for shows this year and will be a season ticket holder for next year. Please support local theatre.

We have been going to the Cumberland County Playhouse since we moved to TN. We have loved all of the plays. We especially loved "the Foreigner" which was written by Larry Shue. So, when we saw that "The Nerd" was also written by Larry Shue, we bought our tickets.
We were very disappointed in the play itself, but the actors all did a fantastic job.

The last play I saw was Hunchback. It was another excellent performance. I have recently seen three different performances here and all were very good. I plan to see “Legslly Blonde” soon.
You will not be sorry if you spend an evening at Cumberland County Playhouse.

Cumberland County Playhouse is a wonderful venue for entertainment. Whether it's a play, concert or a musical presentation--comedy or drama, this is a top notch venue. With 2 stages and wonderful lighting, costume and set design, and comfortable seating with handicapped accessibility, You can enjoy and laugh and applaud with ease of movement. The parking lot is large enough to accommodate. The online ticket sales/booking is a favorite. Group sales can assist if you have have a bus load of folks. Tickets are reasonably priced. Get ready to be delighted.

We have been coming to plays here for years, long before we moved here. We have never seen a "bad" play and love to introduce new friends to this wonderful place!

Just saw the Beauty and the Beast performance. WOW great actors, stage design, costumes. I highly recommend seeing a show and you know you will be hooked. I come down to TN to see family from NY and have been tons of Broadway shows, I would say this is up there!!

Recently moved to the Crossville area and happened onto this Playhouse. Our first impression when we drove up was what an adorable building and surroundings and plenty of parking. Upon going inside to purchase our tickets, we were quickly served at the window. The employee was so helpful in helping us select our seats. There are two theaters, main stage and adventure....the latter being a smaller venue. The employee took us into both theaters and showed us the seating arrangement so we could visualize the seating choices that were best for us. Since this visit we've been back 4 times in just 3 months. The prices are outrageously fair for talent of this sort. Having come from NJ and frequenting Broadway in NY...we can honestly say the talent is just as good.
I highly recommend this Playhouse. They do a wonderful job and i've never met more helpful, pleasant people.

This is one of our "go to places" and what ever performance we have gone to has never disappointed. This time we saw "Bare Foot in the Park". It was well acted and funny and they do great with the set design. If you are in the area, be sure to take advantage of the playhouse.

The cast and crew put so much time and effort into the production you could really tell all the actors loved what they were doing. The environment is very homie and all the employs were very acomidating. I would go see a show here every week if possible!!

This is a favorite place for us. We have been going for years and my niece is now acting here. We love it and of course have our favorite actors

Just enjoyed a delightful play Tuesday, February 23, 2016 - "Church Basement Ladies". It was so entertaining. I spoke with several people from different areas - Louisiana, Georgia, and of course locals like myself. The attendants who greet you are very courteous, friendly and professional. Their experience shows in the "no-hassle" way you are ushered in, seated and ushered out quickly without incident. The plays and concerts are very well planned and organized, and the actors and actresses play their roles with enthusiasm.

We have a group of 2 to 4 couples that either attend CCP or Clarence Brown Theatre in Knoxville, TN. Two couples retired to Kingston, TN after spending their lives in large metropolitan areas and all attending productions in NYC, What a bonus to retire to a very small town and have the luxury of two excellent theaters within an hours drive of our homes! Locations are easy to find, parking is easy, seats are comfortable, productions whether musical, comedy, or drama are always GREAT! Wonderful actors (after a few productions you feel like you know a few of them.) good music, and of course delightful comedy. CCP has a good website so see if something is happening that fits with your schedule.

We saw Legally Blond on Sunday 7/29. Wonderful! The singing, dancing & acting were superb! The lead actors were dynamite. However, we believe that the hairdresser & the UPS driver stole the show!

We were in Fairfield Glades for 8 nights. We enjoyed all 4 of the performances available during our stay. The talent is fantastic - especially the musicals.

I cannot say enough great things about this musical. The actors were fabulous, the music was great and dancers were energetic. We left smiling and happy. There were a few problems with some microphones but they were short lived. If we lived in this area, we would be going to each and every show they have here.

I had reservations for "Margaritaville, " and received a call the late afternoon before the play, canceling the performance. We were 2.5 miles from picking up a couple who had never been to the Playhouse. We had talked this venue up many times and it was our treat to take them. We had non-refundable cabin rental for the weekend, with the play as the reason for coming to Crossville. I was disappointed that the play was canceled due to coronavirus, and I understood that; however, when the lady who called explained that the play was canceled at the first of the week, I asked why we were just getting a call, 24 hours before the program. She kept saying coronovirus. I understood that but I tried to find out why we were just getting a call when it was too late to cancel the cabin. She never answered but called me back about two minutes later. Maybe she forgot that she had just called me? Maybe she was going to tell me that it was a mistake and our performance wasn't canceled? She proceeded to tell me that our performance was canceled. I asked again why we were just getting called since the play was canceled at the beginning of the week. She just said she was not going to argue with me. I completely understood the part about the virus, but waiting to the last minute to call was thoughtless and cost us money, not counting the tickets which I assume I will get back. The customer service is either volunteer and "you get what you get because its free," or there's a cranky old lady who thinks that there is no loyalty owed to customers or there is no thoughtfulness to notify folks of the cancellation in enough time to make other arrangements. Totally thoughtless and rude. I hate this so much because I love the playhouse and have been coming for years to the Crossville area solely for the theater.

Loved the playhouse and the environment ! Can’t wait to come back ! We saw On Golden Pond and the actors were all fantastic. Be sure and read up on the history on the playhouse. Very interesting.

We went to see "Smoke on the Mountain" at the Cumberland County Playhouse today and came away thoroughly entertained. We had heard from several people that they always do high quality productions and this one met those high standards. The actors were all superb! They were gifted in the art of telling a story with facial expressions and body movement and they were exceptional musicians. This particular play featured old gospel music but it was done with respect and authenticity while still entertaining with a humorous story. There were also poignant, touching moments that touched the heart. We were witnessed to as if we were in church but we were entertained throughout. Go see it if you can.

We went and saw the last day of Young Frankenstein at the Cumberland County Playhouse and it was very good. We go to a few shows throughout the year and have been very pleased with them all so far. We are waiting for there 2020 season of plays to released so we can check to see which ones interest us. A great place that is family friendly and to relax and have a laugh.

fun, local, charming.
Great fun for gatherings of large groups or small groups. Wide variety of plays. Great local talent.

Went last Saturday with the family to see Mary Poppins. The grandkids are still singing. just snap my fingers like Mary and they go to sleep. My husband and son were very surprised with the quality of this performance. So was I. It was so impressed I am going again tomorrow. Everyone should see at least one show. well worth every penny.

If you are visiting Crossville, Tn area take time to check out the Cumberland Co. Play House and see what plays/productions are scheduled. From Legally Blond the Musical to the Hunchback of Notre Dame...you want be disappointed.
Established in 1965 The Cumberland County Play House is the only major non-profit professional performing arts resource in rural Tennessee and one of the 10 largest professional theaters in rural America. Serves over 145,000 visitors annually with two indoor and two outdoor stages, supported by over 500 performances.

Our granddaughters really enjoyed "The Little Mermaid". Costumes, acting, scenery and singing were excellent. Evening show started @ 7"30 PM and ended about 10 PM. For younger children, I would definitely recommend a matinee!

My mother and father before he passed, volunteer here. I personally have seen a few shows here and its always been great. I don't live near by or would have seen more. Go for it. You wont' be disappointed.

Close to home but first visit. Saw the adaptation of a Christmas Classic. The Christmas Story is an adaptation of the original movie and I thought they did a good job of bringing it to stage. Can't believe the negative reviews of the playhouse. Apparently some of the guests are expecting Broadway Musical quality for East Tennessee prices. Excellent presentation and fun experience. Go ahead and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Have been to Playhouse before, but still admire how they handle getting in and out so quickly. Good seats to see the show. Enjoyed "Anthem Lights" for the second time at Playhouse.

We had the whole family my mother, my kids 17 and 21. It was a great time, done very well. The Cumberland playhouse does a great job, go and enjoy!

I said hidden but CCP is certainly very well known to the area. We attended Saturday night to see another hit out of the park! MAMMA MIA was beginning it's final week of performances & if Saturday was any indication, they had wall to wall crowds for every performance. But this is not unusual at all. We've been coming to performances here for several years and we've NEVER been disappointed. It's a beautiful mix of professionals and well-seasoned amateurs. This area is very lucky to have this little gem in its midst.4

What can I say??? You will love this place!!! The actors are great, the seating is great, (there are no bad seats) and it plays are always loved by all who see them. Just ask anyone who's been!!! Who would expect this kind of talent in a small town in Tennessee??? It's here!!!

Be going to the play house for 15 years always a good to outstanding production. We saw Cats in Detroit and Cats at the playhouse the play house was twice as good as Detroit. Jason is always great no matter what he does.

Cumberland County Playhouse does an outstanding job with theater. the Play today was The Sander's Family Christmas. There is a great deal of talent with the group of actors in this play as there is in all the plays I have seen. A wonderful place to attend.

We thought, little country playhouse .. tickets aren't expensive .. well let's give it a try. OMG, I wept during Les Mis and was ASTONISHED at the professional production. NOT to be missed !!

We saw Boeing Boeing and it was fabulous! The cast was professional, set was beautiful. We were able to be fit in by the box office staff at the last minute. We were in the little theater and must say only complaint, some of seats are really not good. For first act I was in a row in back of main floor, could not see all the actors. Moved closer (as there were a few open seats) and could see more but still there were points where cast member was blocked by another cast member.
Still a great show.

This week we saw Odd Couple but have seen many other shows in the past 16 years. The plays and musicals are very professional, entertaining, fun, and family friendly. They have 2 different theaters. One is larger (400 - 500 seats) and usually have the musical productions. The smaller intimate theater (250) is "in the round" & present the plays. Be aware that they do have steeper stairs in the small theater. Request floor or few steps. They try to accommodate. Both theaters are handicap accessible with special seating for wheelchairs. They have a snack bar & all productions have an intermission. This is not community theatre. The actors are professional, many with off Broadway, NY experience. However, it has a Southern, small town, homey experience. The ushers are super friendly, they have opening night receptions, some days the have preshow music in the lobby, especially holiday season, and a great variety of productions. Don't miss this gem & don't wait until the last minute for tickets, many shows are sold out. Details are online.

I used to usher just to see the shows free, but those I did not usher I paid to attend. Their "Cats" was better than Broadway...I saw both.

Been many times and every show is excellent....The Playhouse itself is truly unique...The local talent is amazing...I highly recommend seeing a show...

Tough fine line between Excellent and Very Good.
Certainly for a local Theater it was top notch and very professional.
Highly Recommended as an entertainment choice in Crossville.
Layout, seats and atmosphere fall more into VG than Excellent.
As in all theater productions, it will depend on whether the show is of interest to those considering patronage,

What a great little playhouse with BIG performances! The acting is superb, with the majority being professional actors. There are two theaters. The larger one has a stage with theater seating. The other is smaller with a theater in the round kind of feel. The audience surrounds the stage platform with chairs on risers. Both theaters have equally wonderful performances. My husband and I like it so well we have started volunteering there.

We had no idea what to expect, but the cast was very talented-each member played several instruments-the message was Tennessee corn pone Christian which we all need to hear. It was great to hear belly laughs from the crowd and join in the singing!
My husband (yes the one that I have to literally drag to live shows) said, "That was a FINE show". He is still humming some of the songs even though he's tone deaf...
Congratulations to all involved in making our Thursday afternoon a delightful time! I'll never die, I'll just change my address.👍

They have two stage areas, one is small, for smaller productions, the other is large for larger productions. My hubby and I have seen plays in both areas and have been very pleased with both.
The concession stand is a bit on the pricey side, so we always plan to go out to dinner after the show.
They have various shows throughout the year. The acting is top notch, professional.
There is a variety of shows for anyone's taste. Highly recommend it!

I have seen so many shows at the Cumberland County Playhouse that I can not even count them. Each and every one of them a gem! The Company is one of a kind and the atmosphere is truly a unique experience. If you are ever in the area - be sure to catch a show or two!

Truly. I don't know why any of these actors give their time to a little venue like this when they've got the talent to make it really big. The only thing I can guess is that they're not known yet, so do this to build up their resumes and be noticed. Most of these people are probably just a few months away from being "discovered" by big-time agents. I'm grateful to be a local who can watch these performances without paying big-time bucks.
It's not just the talent, either; it's the choice of shows. Sometimes I'll see a remake of something famous, sometimes something I've never heard of. It's always a good story and either funny or moving or both.

Super Christmas show with Songs from circa 1968. So enjoyable in an intimate setting and very professionally done from start to finish.

Have been here many times and have always enjoyed the productions! We saw the Little Mermaid and were blown away! Very impressed!

Another wonderful performance! Always a great experience. A true local treasure! Very thankful to have this great place in our area.

It may be small in size, but the talent is large as life. We've be choosing shows for the last eight years and were only disappointed once. Great casts, super backdrops/scenery/props. If you're looking for entertainment in Crossville be sure to check it out.

I'll begin by saying that we are relatively new locals and have attended Cumberland County Playhouse very often. We have always thoroughly enjoyed the plays and found the actors to be top notch!
However, we had our first real disappointment last night when we saw "The Nerd". Since we had seen "The Foreigner" last year and thought it was very funny, we naturally thought this would be equally as funny because it was written by the same person. We were wrong! While it had some funny lines, the story line was almost nonexistent and it ended on a rather flat note.
The actors did a great job and there is not a role in existence that Jason Ross cannot pull off superbly! Just wish the play itself had a better plot.
This disappointment is just that, but definitely not enough to keep us from supporting the Cumberland County Playhouse in the future.

Went to see the musical Mamma Mia on August 25th. Another wonderful Broadway quality play. Singing was goose-bump producing, songs by ABBA were beautifully done by the live pit orchestra and acting ws top notch! Thanks Jim Crabtree!

When we were looking for a place to live, we had a list and excellent live entertainment was in the top 15 items.
The CCP has exceeded our expectations by far.
The professional cast and volunteers come together under stellar direction and production to offer a great afternoon or evening's entertainment that is easy on the pocketbook.
We HIGHLY recommend a visit to almost any production.

Was of Broadway quality. Sets were designed professionally. Have visited numerous times. Well worth the money. A great way to spend an evening or afternoon.

The Cumberland County Playhouse never ceases to amaze us when we attend. We usually travel to Crossville once a year and always make a reservation for a show. The theatre itself is very tastefully decorated and comfortably in either theatre and the cast members are excellent. So much love of theatre is displayed in the performances and you would think that the actors were professional in the performances they give. This is a truly must go to venue when in Crossville.

We purchased our tickets on line prior to coming to Crossville from Pennsylvania. What a gem of a playhouse. We purchased tickets to see "Mousetrap" written by Agatha Christie. We arrived a little early just to check out the area. Plenty of parking. Inside, people were friendly and helpful. Seating is perfect almost anywhere in the playhouse. It is semi-circular and elevated. Great cast and show. Great value for a afternoon show. Wish we had time to see the other feature at this venue called "Marvelous Wonderettes". Recommend reservations. If I were a resident we would purchase season tickets. A must do if you are in the area.

One of the best things about Fairfield Glade is the golf. The other is this playhouse. This time we saw Things My Mother Taught Me. It wasn't actually a musical although there was quite a bit of music in it. It was a comedy and was certainly funny. This play is in the smaller theater where the audience sits on three sides of the stage.
Great actors who put everything they have into their parts.

Very intimate venue with the actors almost in touching distance. Excellent actors, performing multiple roles in one play. Truly a fun experience. Can't wait to do it again.

We greatly enjoyed the Playhouse. The staff of volunteers were kind and enthusiastic. The actors remarkably talented. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

In the last month (09/2015) I have seen Fox on the Fairway and Pinocchio. Both were excellent. Fox on the Fairway was a great date night for my husband and I. It would also be great for friends to see together. Pinocchio was a great family day with Grammy, child and self. I recommend you catch any show with Jason Ross and the children actors are always superb.

Went to see "Greener Pleasures" but wasn't impressed! The acting was sufficient but didn't much care for the writing. Slow start was hard to keep your attention but did pick up some after intermission. Still, the playhouse is very nice and the other play we have seen was excellent. A good time with great friends, very worth while.

Just got back from seeing Cinderella play! TOTALLY amazing performance by these folks! Seriously these folks are talented and work very hard. It was an amazing performance and some of them will definitely be famous someday.
Nice atmosphere and as always, great people in Tennessee. The singing is great and the actor's are great as well. FULLY ENJOYED the show. and would Definitely come again. Great job people and don't give up on yourself. Thank you for a very good night.

Wow! What a show! A good old-fashioned song and dance musical! Lots of beautiful costumes, glamorous ladies, handsome guys, great voices, and spectacular dancing! You really do not want to miss this one! Tickets for around 25 bucks and free parking out the door. Come in your jeans and sweatshirt. What's not to like? Just do it!
TIP: Don't forget to ask for your senior citizen discount.

We saw this production yesterday afternoon.
It was a complete joy! Such talented singers. The staging and sets were so clever. Loved the experience!

We went to the Adams Family Show with a bank group. The show was great. We were not in the main stage area, we were in the other room. It is much smaller & you are very close to the actors. It was a great show, the only complaint was the fog they used in the show, it irritated my eyes so bad. If we go back I had prefer the Main stage to see a show the next time. We looked in there & it was so much nicer than the area we were. All the actors did an awesome job. Not real expensive. Would go here again.

Visited this playhouse for the first time this past Saturday. I saw The Secret Garden and it was delightful! Truly enjoyed myself and am already planning a return trip.

A very nice night out. We saw Legally Blond it was so entertaining. Music was excellent. Actors were very good. Many shows throughout the year.

Saw a marvelous play. The Venue is small so all seats were good except on the main floor where you needed to look through the rows ahead (not tiered). The cast were all excellent and the play was fun.

We try to visit the Playhouse at least 4 times each season. We drive approximately 4 hours but it has always been worth it. Small theater but not a bad seat in the house.
It is just a comfortable and fun experience and we look forward to the upcoming season.

Marvelous Wonderettes playing now in Adventure Theater Cute little musical, fine acting, nice costumes, fun audience participation. Call for YOUR tickets today...this show only runs thru next week.
The Mouse Trap (Agatha Christie) playing on Main Stage. Great Show! Acting wonderful, as usual, has a very "you're really there" feel to it.
For $25 or so (all seats same price) (senior discount), come as you are (jeans, tee shirt, overalls, no fancy dress) free parking at the door, great environment and people--can't miss! Enjoy.

Saw Beauty and the beast and it was great. The actors are so very talented. Orchestra was phenomenal as well.

I always enjoy taking in the plays and have never been disappointed with any of them. I recent saw Ring of Fire The music of Johnny Cash. What a great show and you can't beat the price of $25 per ticket. If you like Johnny Cash's music you won't be disappointed.

We went to an afternoon performance of "Second Helping'. This play was performed in the small theater which is a quite intimate setting. There is a large theater in this facility as well for night time shows which include many well known groups performing live as well as plays.

It is a very good little playhouse with Broadway type plays. Always a good night out. Actors and volunteers and professionals. Get your tickets early since they sell out a lot.

As always the food was very good. The pork chops, vegetables & especially the deserts. The view of the lake is always good.

We enjoyed a fine performance from a blend of local as well as outside professional talent. It was in the O'Brien theater which was quaint and enhanced the experience. I highly recommend it!

Love this place excellent plays, talented actors and actresses. Gives us all some culture here in Crossville. People from all over Tennesse visit here to see plays.

Great way to spend your time in Crossville, TN! Well done productions. I have been multiple times and have enjoyed every minute each time. I recommend this for anyone looking to be entertained.

We watche Matilda musical play. That was excellent. All the kids were great performers, especially the girl who played Matilda. They were all local people. Good average size theatre, very friendly staff and ushers who were all volunteers. Throtoghly enjoyed the play, people and the surroundings.

Offer excellent plays every year. I had season tickets for 25 years, but reluctantly gave them up when I became too handicapped to attend. Highly recommend; always good entertainment.

We have been here twice.. we are from Mississippi , and we saw Shrek and Ring of fire... both were awesome shows. They sell t-shirts and local crafts in the lobby also. You get a break mid show so you can get popcorn or a bathroom break.

We have seen 2 shows so far. The Little Mermaid, we took the granddaughters to. They loved it. Recently we saw the Odd Couple. Lots of laughs. It was a great show. Very reasonably priced, too. Would highly recommend this venue.

My wife and I went and saw "Young Frankenstein". Again we were not disappointed in attending a play here. Suggest always get a reservation early. Seating always fills up fast. We have never been disappointed in our seating. Staff is friendly and makes good suggestions. Good parking, with exiting well handled. I can see why this is one of the top rurual playhouses.

Great production
Excellent acting
Strong music and vocals
Not your community theater group , as good as some off Broadway show

Good show, as usual ! It's a touch of Broadway in Tennessee. We have been to multiple various performances and have not been disappointed once.

A large group of friends attended a play. I enjoyed the play, however was surprised at how dated the theater seemed. I think it needs some updating. We had a very difficult time getting in our seats. It was ok.

Today we saw Red, White and Tuna. There was one actor and one actress playing multiple roles. Jason Ross and Patty Payne are two of our favorites. They did an outstanding job of playing multiple rolls of both sexes. We laughed until we cried.

During our stay at Fairfield Glade we chanced a visit for a presentation/ play at the beautiful Cumberland County Playhous in nearby Crossville. Wow, what a grand experience we had at the community theater. The facility is lovely, the cast was incredibly talented and the presentation — of the comedy “Boeing, Boeing” — was professional in every respect. So glad we went.

While vacationing in Crossville this year we went to see Trip to Bountiful. They did an excellent job on this play. I love coming to the playhouse when I’m in the area. I have seen many plays an all were excellent. It is most always sold out. I highly recommend this place. We will be back when in the area.

We have visited the playhouse about 4 xs over the course of a few years. It's always a fall thing for us since the area is so gorgeous that time of year. The playhouse is older. There always seems to be an issue with acoustics, some worse and some just minor. If you are more familiar with the show your will be seeing, it helps understand the words/songs. We will be returning in 3 weeks and hoping for a clear day to enjoy family, food and a light hearted fun show, The Odd Couple.
It is clean, staff polite and parking is easy.

What a great show! The lead (role of Donna) was absolutely amazing. Small theater but sets and characters where top notch! We will defiantly look up this theater on our next visit to Fairfield Glade.

I was a little familiar with this play but not entirely. We saw on closing night and it was very well done. From what I understand there are repeat actors in the productions and they have quite a following. My sister and brother in law have been living in the area for a year now and have seen a number of shows...all very well received. I saw the lineup for 2019 and there are some good plays chosen so if you’re in the Crossville area give them a try.

I recommend the Cumberland County Playhouse to anyone who loves live entertainment! It's faster if you buy your tickets in advance and arrive early of course.

Not a bad seat in the house. Easy 1 hour drive from Knoxville. Plenty of parking. Many great shows offered throughout the year. Broadway quality in a homegrown community. National recognition for the quality of performances

Went with a group to see a play at the Playhouse. I did not expect much with it being in a semi rural area. Boy was I surprised. It was a very nice facility and the play was top notch. The sound and seating was very good. Reasonably priced drinks and snacks and also a small gift shop.

We have seen two plays there and both were great! Don't ever miss an opportunity if you are near Crossville. Actually, go out of your way if you are in Knoxville, Nashville or Chattanooga. We met a couple at a B&B there from Nashville who come regularly to watch a play on Saturday night, spend the night at the B&B, and then attend a matinee Sunday. It's worth it!
Excellent for a small town
I always love my experience at the Cumberland County Playhouse. It's professional and they do an excellent job. The people involved are courteous and down to earth. There is always a good energy there.
