If you want peace and quiet this is the place! We stayed at the campground and the site was perfect. Although the site was angled it was a little tough getting parked as there was a site directly in front of us and we have a 5th wheel. This would not be a problem at many of the other sites. If you look at the campground map its pretty accurate other than the loops are closer in real life. The fire pits have cooking grates and the picnic table is concrete and on a concrete pad. Sorry tablecloth clips will not work but table weights or bungees work great. The site we had was full hookup and there was a garbage can at each site. We were there Sunday thru Thursday and they picked up Sunday. We stayed in area 1 and it was completely flat and an easy walk to tge bath house. The other areas gently slope but arent too tricky to the bath houses.
Activities include: aviary with barred, screach, barn owls, and red tailed hawk. Theres a lake to kayak or canoe and a restaurant that overlooks the lake. Theres a pool, tennis courts, and golfing. If you like to hike, there are several trails and there are more within a reasonable driving distance from the park. Crossville is about 6 miles from the campground. So you are never too far away if you need something. Theres also a camp store for quick essentials.

We moved to TN this month and have already been here twice! Very well kept and peaceful. Although I havent had any luck catching fish. We absolutely love the swimming pool. Its huge and very well maintained. There us a fee of $5 for non campers. Next to the pool is a small snack bar with seating. Would highly recommend if in the area!

A relaxing adventure. There's walking trails, biking, fishing. Plus, there's a great restaurant on the property that has buffet style service. What a way to get away!

Friendly, helpful staff. Friendly people camping - we were in a RV. Clean bathhouse - always a good thing! Beautiful area and not far from the little town of Crossville if you need something the camp store doesn't have. Prices for camping are reasonable. We highly recommend.

There’s slim pickings around here as far as hotels go. I like state parks & a “rustic cabin” was actually available on short notice so I booked it.
It. Is. Rustic. Ok, it’s old. Like time stood still 50 years ago & nothing in the cabin has been changed. It was a little shocking how old the cabin was. But, all in all, I’d do it again. I just needed more of a warning.
The kitchen is stocked exactly for 4. If you have 5 people—no plates, silverware, cup for you. The cooking supplies were lacking! Bring what you need if you’re cooking or learn to improvise!
The furniture is mismatched & looks to be replaced only when it breaks. The couch had a huge hole under one of the cushions. We almost lost my mom when she sat & almost disappeared. The beds are ok but you definitely feel the springs in your back and will wake anyone nearby if you move during the night.
Bathroom is old. Showers are old. But, it’s usable & there was hot water.
What was lacking in ambiance inside the cabin was overcome by the beauty of the park. The peace & quiet were wonderful. The hiking trails were great—not too long, not too short. Several options & we tried most of them. The long pioneer loop was beautiful. We went in the morning & had the trails to ourselves. If you do the long loop & make it to the road, turn left & cross the bridge. The trail picks up on your left..it’s not marked well on the map.
We paddle boated. We kayaked. We used the playgrounds. We had a great 2 days!
The restaurant was closed but a sign said “opening soon”. There is a beautiful outside sitting area for when it does open. I’d go back to try it out!
This state park was beautiful! The staff were friendly. Lots to do in a weekend to enjoy God’s beautiful creation!
Sure, the cabin was old but there are lots of other cabins that looked newer & the place was completely full so others know it’s a good place to go! Would be a great place for a group to meet up with the way the cabins are situated.
I loved it...cobwebs and all!

good trails and fishing. Restaurant on location has good food but nothing to brag about at least the night we ate there. Buffet style

Luckily the ranger was on staff to discuss which trail we should hike as the lady in the office does not walk the trails. The trail we walked has become quite overgrown. I understand it looking natural but we missed many crops due to the additional brush.

We went there to eat at the restaurant and just did a drive thru on the rest of the park. The area is very scenic and there were a lot of hikers and people out on the lake. It is worth a trip just for the restaurant.

The family and I camped and experienced the hiking and pool. That a great place with a lot of history and natural beauty. The pool was well maintained and the staff extremely helpful. A big thank you goes out to Jordan and the life gaurd staff for being helpful too our young kids at the pool.

We went to this state park to hike with our daughter and son in law and we were pleasantly surprised. It is easily accessible and easy to find parking. They offer an olympic sized pool to the general public for $5 a day, many walking trails, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats for rent too. There is a snack bar with refreshments that are reasonably priced. This is a wonderful park offered by the state of Tennessee and well worth the visit.

I went with a group from Nashville, TN to Crossville, TN to see a play at the Cumberland Play House last weekend. We had a delicious supper prior to leaving for Nashville everything from salads, meat selections, vegetables and deserts. We enjoyed walking around the park. This park is a beautiful area. Several geese (20) live there and we enjoyed watching them. You can not leave hungry as there are any selections to choose from.

We went with friends for a lovely walk. We did the long walk. I think it is 2.5 miles. You can hire a canoe if you want, or go for a swim.

Well forested park, with less than total clearing of land. Lots fair distance apart, many level and all black topped. WiFi good, though expensive after 4 days free. Power reliable, trash collection often, running creek and nice hike to the river. Many wild flowers in the spring. Nice trails. Good restaurant in the park, though price is a little higher than desired for buffet. Staff quite helpful. We spent 4-5 weeks here, while searching for a home. Stay is limited to 2 weeks, but there are many other places to stay during the interim. Tranquil. Fire rings at every site, along with grill on a post. Gathering fire wood permitted, cutting of fallen wood permissible with hatchet or bow saw.

Was impressed with how clean overall this park was. The area was clear of debris and for a public place it is impressive. The area we visited was near the big pond. The garage cans were cleared out and the bathrooms actually clean. Although we didn't get a chance to use the cabins or camping area it seems like it would be as nice as well.

We enjoyed a weekend get away at this wonderful park. I can not count the times I have visited this park since I was a child, but I enjoy it just as much still today. The park is great for families and offers a lot for the kids during the summer. I suggest checking into their availability during peak seasons.

I am semi-retired and do some travel for pleasure. One trip I do each year is to Crossville, where I go this park. I have been to a number of state parks in Tennessee. This is my favorite. Everything is first class. Scenery is wonderful. Hiking trails are nice. Boating on the lake is very relaxing. The restaurant is outstanding, although I did not eat there on this trip. I just took a picnic lunch.

We enjoyed taking a walk down by the water. We saw several large fish along the waters edge as we were walking. A great place for nature lovers.

Cumberland Mountain State Park is beautiful , has so much to offer. . It has a great restaurant, great play areas for kids, tennis courts, basketball court, several shelters for family reunions. great place to walk

This was one of the best state parks we have visited. The campsites were well maintained and organized. The camp hosts are helpful. We parked our class A in area 3 with no problem. The online reservation system was excellent. There are lots of amenities for kids and a unique restaurant that is worth a visit.

Took our dog for walks on the trails. Stayed in rustic cabin. Next time we would upgrade to get a fireplace. Beautiful grounds, well kept. Lovely lake and scenery on the cumberland plateau.

Pretty good food,a little expensive, had better food for the money, crowded a little bit, stand in line to get for etc.

We stayed in the Timber Lodge 3 which was a three bedroom , pet friendly. Overlooks the lake , very open kitchen/living /dining room area. Deck wood was a little uneven . everything was clean.
The big change going on was at the original CCC cabins. They were taking them down to the studs and saving original wood where possible. Replacing roof with cedar shake shingles like the originals and adding hidden central heat and air in the ceiling . New level stone walkways ,rough cut oak board and baton siding. They are really going to be nice and we plan to check them out next year.

We went for the solar eclipse. The park is beautiful and has many amenities. It has a lake, camping, cabins for rent, a golf course, Olympic size swimming pool, picnic tables, parking and acres of beautiful trees and open areas.
The event for the eclipse was a well planned well supervised event. Free parking, clean well stocked bathrooms, medics on duty. The Golf course club house had food, eclipse T shirts and glasses and music. It couldn't have been better.

This is a buffet style restaurant and I can honestly say that the food is great. There is a yummy salad and soup bar. Then you move to the main course with various potatoes, vegetables and meats. Cumberland Mountain restaurant has a wonderful desert bar. They have soft serve ice cream, various cakes and pudding style deserts. I guarantee you will not leave hungry and will be well satisfied. The service is very good as well.

A very pleasant environment. Extremely scenic, with all its lakes, steep trails mountain views, trees abundant, and you can rent cabins or camp out. The restraunnt in my opinion is average. The buffet is standard, It is however fairly reasonable, and you have a very pretty view from main dining room. A nice place to have family dinners.

We went here based on reviews. Liked the stone bridge that you drive over just past the Visitor's Center. Other than that, unless you're hiking or picnicking, there really isn't anything else to do. Lots of shade and a pretty day when we went.

This is really nice park ,hiking trails are challenging, lake pretty picnic area bathrooms, boat rentals, and free, childrens play area, pool and campground charge fees, nice way to spend day or longer

Have been to eat there many times as we are local, nice location in the park on small lake, Pretty building with an average country buffet. It gets a long line, on some days out the door. Cute little gift shop. All in all a pleasant experience, but
not something to get off I40 to hunt for because it is quite far. If
you are staying in the area , give it a visit.

If you like lots of good food at a good price, in an unbeatable setting, this is the place. The drive in is through a beautiful State Park and the restaurant sits on the shore of a pretty little lake with lots of wildlife. The buffet features lots of good southern cooking, so expect to bust your diet when you go.

The food wasn't quite as good as I remember it but, it was very good. The staff is very helpful and courteous. Love the location above the river.

You will love the trails. Beautiful park all four seasons. Do not miss the buffet. Ask for a table by window. Offer different menu each day of week so check to go on your favorite day.

What a beautiful park! Great for all seasons! It’s such an easy park to enjoy great for all people with an active lifestyle or for those with challenges In getting around. TN has done well with this great spot!
Hiking, kayaking, picnicking, strolling, camping, or rent a cabin! No falls here- but lots of photo opportunities! Don’t miss this fun or relaxing day.

Restaurant offers a large buffet with salad bar, side dishes, several meats, and desserts including a soft serve ice cream machine. The ribs on Saturday night are excellent.

This is the 4th time camping at Cumberland Mountain State Park.
Love the shade of the trees, everyone is very nice. One of our favorite places to camp.

We have been going to the Cumberland Harvest since we moved 5 years ago. I dont know if its changed management or what but our last visit was disappointing. The variety and quality of the buffet has went down hill.....less food choices and food poor. Will go back and give it one more try because we use to really enjoy it.

Would give a 5 but the duplex cabin we stayed in was not at all what we expected. The park is beautiful, with hiking and water, etc. Most cabins have been refurbished and are fabulous. However the duplex cabins are described as rustic and should say "run down". I spent the first hour cleaning up -the HVAC unit inside cabin was filthy. Mattress was sagging and sheets, well lets just say I have rags in better condition. Housekeeping did give us a new set of sheets, we flipped the mattress, so we managed just fine for 2 nights. Staff was all very nice and I only put this info out there because this is not representative of the TN state parks and I am hoping that in the very near future they refurbish these cabins or stop renting then till the do.

A great park and a short drive from home. The location makes a very nice day trip for us. Hike, camp, picnic, stay in a cabin. The restaurant serves us a nice dinner also.

This is a great lazy ride for you and your Motorcycle...Great curves to lean into...There was a great seafood buffet as well.

We arrived to Fairfield Glade on a Saturday afternoon and we did not want to waste the evening. We drive out to the park and made it to the information station just before close at 5. The lady recommended the 2 mile hike loop over the suspension bridge. It's an easy hike and perfect for a fun evening. We enjoyed this short hike and it was a great start to our weekend. There is a lot more to do here, but we didn't get to take advantage of it due to time limitations.

Had our 1st family reunion at the park. Stayed in the deluxe cabin- Timberlodge #3. It was convenient with the hiking trails behind it and minimal view of the water. Beware though that they are NOT deluxe by any means other than size. The spider webs inside the cabin and all around the curtains was astonishing. Dirty dirty floors. Must wear shoes at All times. Not to mention the worst part that we brought home a bed bug!!!!! Beware families!!!

My wife really did like this place. Nice area for gentle hikes. Have plenty of Canadian geese. Only saw one lonely duck, maybe too early in the year. The park's lake still has water, although low. I see they have a lodge for meals. Stop by at lunch, it appears to be plenty of vegetables, but meat selection was low (meat loaf & baked chicken). A lot of people there, so the food must not be bad. Just had a pleasant visit.

The park is very nice. The food at Homestead Harvest is fantastic and reasonably priced . There is a place to rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boats and John boats. We loved the large campground.

Went for lunch and it was great. Simple Buffett overlooking the water. Rented a rowboat and the scenery was beautiful. I will definitely go back many times.

We loved this park. It is do beautiful. Amazingly well kept up. Friendly & well educated staff. The trails were great and offer a variety of levels for walking & hiking. They were well marked too. The lake is pretty. The pool was closed due to Covid 19 but plenty of other things to do. The park offers boat & canoe rentals. There is an activity center but it was closed. There are cabins and camping areas. There is a wonderful restaurant that seems to be dealing pretty well with COVID regulations. No breakfasts but lunch & dinner are served. Buffet closed for now. Nice gift shop. The old CCC bridge is beautiful. To get out & be one with nature is just wonderful & I feel many are ready for this now. It felt like all aware of masks and distancing. We felt safe. Just go as it is a breathtaking park.

This park was originally built as part of the New Deal-driven Cumberland Homesteads project. It was further outfitted with CCC cabins (that, regrettably, need some tlc now but I'm told that is in the works). If that context does not mean anything to you, look it up and learn, because the park continues to exemplify the very best of the spirit it which it was created.
The park is huge, with everything from boat rentals and fishing, to playgrounds, camping, trails, and natural beauty everywhere. The rangers have an impressive list of daily programs! And history is everywhere, from the markers that tell the story of the park to the beautiful, locally quarried Crab Orchard terraces and buildings. Highly recommend for nature lovers, families, history buffs, and, well, everyone.

Cumberland State Park Restaurant is one of the two main reasons we stop in Crossville for a time while in our RV for the summer. One can procure just a salad bar fare for under $7 or the full buffet, menu changing daily, . Prices $8.75-$11.95. Rib nite (Sat.) is 14.95. If one goes away hungry you didn't go to the right place!

There are few if any signs for the Black Mountain Crest Trail, so follow the signs for the Cumberland Trail. Parking for the Black Mountain Crest Trail is just below a very tall microwave / cell phone tower which is at the end of a road. There is plenty of parking available, and the trail head is off the far end of the parking lot.(See photo) The Black Mountain Crest Trail uses white blazes and at times overlaps the Cumberland Trail which uses yellow blazes. The trail is very clean i.e. very little exposed tree roots or stones. The Black Mountain Crest Trail could be run very easily. We were able to look up at the trail most of the time versus looking down at where our feet were going. We hiked the trail in late May and the the trail was in the shade. Saw some very interesting rock formations especially where the Cumberland Trail splits off form the Black Mountain Crest Trail (see photos). Great views from the Southern Overlook (see photos), however views from the Northern Overlook were obscured by trees. The trail in places was narrow, i.e. sufficient for one person but passing another person might be difficult. Trekking poles were useful but not mandatory. We 77 year olds hiked the 1.53 mile crest Trail in 1.5 hours.

peaceful state park with clean facilities cabins and camping.Excellent buffet restaurant.Swimming and boating.

I grew up in Chattanooga, and still have a lot of family in Tennessee (Go Vols!). We try and have our reunion at different places each year, and decided that, this year, we would have it at Cumberland Mountain State Park. I had not been to the park in over 40 years, and don't remember much from my last visit, so I was looking forward to going this year and being with family.
The park is beautiful with several types of cabins to accommodate you and yours. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin that had a double bed in the bedroom and another double bed in the living area. The only drawback to the cabin was that the bedroom was quite small and there were no outlets in the bedroom, so no lamps. And it does get very dark at night. Also the mattresses on the beds were worn and need to be replaced.
As far as the park goes, lots of activities for all from the hiking trails to the lake (you can rent fishing boats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and peddleboats by the half hour, hour or day at very reasonable rates for paddling and/or fishing. There are lots of playgrounds, tennis and ball courts and a softball field. There is also a campground, for those of you who prefer to bring your own "cabin" with you. And the restaurant offers daily lunch and supper buffets Tuesday through Sunday. Check out the park's web site for more info.
I loved my stay and would love to go back for a week and work on my book. I think it would be conducive for writing with activities for a small break when needed. Remember, it is a state park, so follow the park rules and no alcohol!

My wife and I made an early morning visit to check the fall colors. As of Oct 22, the color pattern was patchy. What made a realliy nice visit was the early moring hours. Having it peaceful and quiet. No road noises and not even the park work crews out. Standing there by the dam and lake and seeing the morning mist blow across the lake. There was even some geese trying to wake up, fluffing their feathers and starting their morning routine. As we walk along the lake, past the movie area and towards the cabin area everything was so inviting. We both wanted to rent a cabin and enjoy the changing of colors and the peacefulness we found.

We had a family reunion there. Ours was cabin 21 for handicap. When we walked in we should of turned around and asked for our money back. We paid $166 a night. Paid for 2 nights but only stayed one. I stayed up all night. Left that next day because of the place. Our cabin had spider webs. I cleaned up as much as I could the day we got there because it was so dirty. We found a big wolf spider then later on baby ones in the bedroom. There were holes in the walls in every room and you could look up and see mold on the ceiling. My sisters rented 2 other cabins. My sister turned the oven on and not just a few cockroaches but so many that they could not count came running out. My other sister had different kinds of bugs. What bothers me is our cabin was for handicap and someone could really get hurt. Not just being infested with wolf spiders but the place was not safe for handicap. The rail in the bathroom beside the toilet was not stable at all. The water in the tub would not go out and the bottom of tub would move which was weird so you had to be careful to keep your balance. It was not handicap safe. We went to use the hairdryer and blue flames came out. I am sure I am forgetting something but the least thing was no internet or cable. YOUR prices are way to high for the conditions your cabins are in. I did write and let them know. I did reply on the survey they sent us after our trip and I emailed the TN State park website but I have not had any response and probably will not.

The state park has cabins and motel rooms also a restaurant buffet, gift shop, you can rent paddle boats to go on the pond, you can feed the ducks, beautiful area.

The park has a nice restaurant with a seafood buffet. The park is nice with trails, wildlife and beauty.

A full service state park. Everything from camping to fishing to boating. There is even a large restarunt on site that is worth the wait. Even on Friday, saturday and sunday dinners

We visited Cumberland Mountain State Park in June of 2016. This park was built by the Conservation Corp. The Corp built one of the largest stone bridges they have ever built. The lodge is built on the lake, and is a beautiful stone building. You might want to take some bread or something to feed the geese. They expect their pay. The lodge serves meals that are quite reasonable in price. We will be going back June 3-10, 2017.

This was an amazing stop along the way while I was driving from Nashville. It was so beautiful and there were not a lot of bugs. I ended up hiking around and meeting some beautiful people along the way.
If you have time to check this out, I highly recommend this. Thank you!!

Very well maintained state park with nice golf course and places to sit and have a nice picnic lunch. Campgrounds looked clean

It's a gorgeous place. The area is just absolutely saturated without adequate facilities or infrastructure. The forest/parks management really needs to get a handle on the area, take a good look at resource management and visitor flow before it's all destroyed.

This is just a really great park. Built with WPA funds and very well maintained. There is something for everyone. Great campsites, the cabins are incredibly nice and complete. There are great trails, waterfalls. Just a really nice place to visit.

a great park.one of our favorite parks in tn.a lot of things to do,cabins to rent, camping, a restaurant, hiking, museum, beautiful scenery. a good place to be outside.

We visited the park on July 4th, so they were only serving their buffet lunch. The food was very good and a great view of the bridge.

We came there just fir a few hours and we wished to have time to stay longer. The park has a nice dam which creates its own waterfall. It also has plenty of place for picnic and relaxation. There are tennis courts and a very nice restaurant overlooking the water.

The Cumberland Mountain State Park is especially spectacular in the fall but really nice any time of the year. We always make it a point to eat in the restaurant looking out over the lake - good home cooking.

Think back to "clubhouse" dining and you have stepped into a lovely buffet dinner for a more than reasonable price and wonderful service. Overlooking a lake and the beautiful bridge that you see in the photo.

A beautiful park. Ate the restaurant, great catfish. The bridge is an amazing picture. Wish I had more time.

This place is always super clean and relaxing environment great for kids camping swimming and tennis even basketball this is a true later back park.

We wandered down here to spend a few hours while waiting for our room to be available. The drive in is pleasant and the park itself is superb. We ate a picnic lunch at the pool area, travelled across the WPA ridge down to teh landings and wandred around on the trails.
All-in-all, a good way to while away a few hours.

very nice atmosphere, food is great. especially rib night. beautiful view of the lake from the dining room.

This free state park has lovely trails. Water recreational options and good internal roads. Good place to enjoy the outdoors.

Beautiful park, great trails and awesome restaurant with beautiful view. There is also a small museum with the area history that is worth the stop.

Lots of activities. Swimming, hiking, mountain bike trail, etc.
Bring your camera and walking shoes.
There are picnic tables.
There are an RV park and cabin rentals.

We have been to the park twice in the last two months. Once to hike some of the trails as part of the Cumberland Hiking Marathon and just recently had a Sunday Buffett. The trail we took followed around the river and had some good views but it was a little trying with a number roots growth over the path. This is not surprising since most of the trails were laid out in the 1930's when the park was opened. Trails run different lengths from a mile to 3 miles. The Buffett was excellent and the view from the restaurant was spectacular with all the fall colors. Roast beef and chicken were the main dishes with mashed potatoes vegetables and salad. It was very busy but the waiting time to get in was less than 5 minutes for our party of 6. Good value and Great views.

We stayed in one of the small duplex cabins in the park. It was rustic but doable and convenient. It did need some minor maintenance done, but nothing major. The full size bed was not comfortable. Reasonable cost.

A good park for camping or a day trip. Has a small museum that gives a little history of the park. It was built as part of the New Deal, during the depression. Has an on-site restaurant, though we did not eat there.

Love camping ⛺ in Crossville. I have a toy hauler so I bring the motorcycles, ride through the mtns all day and chill at camper at night.

The Food here is like nursing home food if that's what you like. The Pull pork was nasty because I could tell they Mix's the old pork with the new was really dry out the taste. I Will not be back to this cafeteria style setting.

This review is more about our recent stay at one of the Timber Lodge cabins (TL3). The park is wonderful and I've spent many lovely days there. The cabin was beyond rustic and I think bordering on unsanitary and possibly structurally compromised. It's a pet friendly cabin so I understand and accept it might not be as clean as some of the others but this was beyond that. I wouldn't take my shoes off because I'm not sure if the floor had been cleaned since the 1980s. The bathroom was like something out of a gas station in a horror movie, gross with scratches on the door from people locking their dogs in the bathroom. The whole cabin had a slant to it and no way the railings on the deck (or the deck in general) was up to code. So much mold, if you have mold sensitivity just don't. The kitchen was fine and the furniture was pretty new. In summary the cabin was a dump and for a state park should have been better. I'm extremely disappointed not worth cost, just get a hotel.

Nice State Park with plenty of outdoor activities. We stayed in a cabin. Apparently it was an older cabin. Only 3 electrical outlets worked. There were extension cord in those that got very hot. The shower flooded. The stove only had one working burner. I wished they would have told us this was an older cabin. There were others available and I wish we would have requested a change. As long as we were outside of the cabin, our trip was very enjoyable. Our cabin was #13.

This park has hidden gems to explore. I enjoyed several trail's around the lake, and then went to the restaurant located in the park to eat. Be sure to keep on the lookout for the many animals that call this park their home. I saw deer, a fox, a raccoon, squirrels, and ducks. Also take some bread to feed the ducks which are abundant around the lake.

This is a wonderful place to go on long drives in the fall. The many hardwoods help make the fall full of color.

Beautiful day to take a hike with the Grandkids. This park has many trails that allow you to hike and enjoy the natural beauty of the park. There are cabins and a campground, but we were just there for a day trip.

I am not a fan of camping, but the rest of the family is. Planned a family reunion for 50+ at Cumberland Mountain State Park and everything was great. I don't camp, so having the cabins as an option was a plus, and the cabins were surprisingly nice. Super clean. Literally everything you would need to stay there for a few days (cooking utensils, linens, towels, dish soap, toilet paper, air conditioning, television). The grounds were very well kept, and even though we were only a 15 minute ride from town, felt like we were deep in the woods. Playgrounds for the kids. Grills. A huge pool (for an additional fee). Canoes. Pedal boats. Kayak. Fishing. Trails. The only disappointment was that we couldn't have a fire in the cabin area, so had to make our s'mores on the grill.

Beautiful park in Central Tennessee! Even though they are in a drought and the water level is a bit low, the hike around the lake was nice. The leaves were beautiful. There are 6 trails of various lengths, .07-6 miles. We did 3 of them and they were pretty easy. We ate the buffet in the park and it was very good. They serve pretty much all day with a break from 2:30-4 or so. Lots of people were there eating. People in the restaurant were very friendly. We didn't camp, but did talk to some folks who lived a couple hours away from the park and they come there often to camp. . I want to come back, maybe in late spring after a rain.

Loved this park. Helpful people in the visitor center. Nice lake Shaded trails. I do not swim but there was a pool which was lightly populated when I drove past. Clean good walking trails

This is really nice park in the Cumberland Mountains. There are some fun trails for walking and you get to see the beautiful mountains. Beautiful place to visit.

Great place for a casual hike. Trails are easy for any age. Trails are well marked and well maintained.

If you want a pe a ceful place to stay, this is it. We enjoy the cabins and the restaurant. The food is great and the view of the water is relaxing. There are trails to hike, paved roads to walk or bicycle on. Great playground area, paddle boarding, kayaking and more.

Only spent the night but it is a very pretty park. You can be in Crossville in 5 minutes if you want to shop or eat out. They also have an ADA accessible trail. The gravel at camp sites made me wish I had put my rug down each side had a fire ring, garbage pail, grill and table they also rent cabins and you can rent camp. The golf course is part of the park but you have to go outside and then back into the park Be prepared it is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course and a bit pricy

A great buffet at the state park. We've been there many times and I've enjoyed her experience each time. Friday night is always fish night. The state park itself is pretty small but is well-maintained and it worthwhile trip. The history in the area it's very interesting and I Believe you would enjoy your time. We have also taking a picnic before and ate beside the lake. A beautiful spot.

Just driving through the park is a historical adventure. There is so much history behind the rock houses along the way, the Tower Museum, the water, bridges and the scenery

This is a beautiful place to visit! Pretty scenes! Good walking trails! Would visit again!would be good place to camp!

Came here for a day trip/hike. Took our dogs on the Pioneer Short Loop which is a about 2 miles. Took about 90 minutes. Easy as far as elevation gain but had a few sections that were highly uneven due to tree roots and rocks. You do cross a rope suspension bridge which feels shaky but is actually sturdy. Very pleasant walk around the lake and good fall color change at this time. For the most part the trail is single file and if you meet someone coming the other direction it can be hard to find a place to step out of the way.
Plenty of places around the park to have a picnic lunch.
No entry free.

Great restaurant good trails, play grounds , cabins. A nice place to spend the day or week. Open all year.

The park has an outstanding restaurant with a great gift shop. There is also a small museum on the other side of the parking lot with picnic tables on its patio. This museum is one of three facilities that feature the history of the "New Deal" movement that helped 250 families build homes & start farms. The reason I didn't give the park 5 stars is because it won't allow signs to help you find the "House Museum" & it wasn't easy to find. We're so glad we didn't give up. It's definitely worth going the extra mile for. If you go to the Tower Museum, you can buy a $5 ticket to see it & the House Museum. The museum at the restaurant is free so you get to see all three for $5. We're so glad a couple at Fairfield Glade & the staff there encouraged us to see them. The park is beautiful, too. I wish we would have had more time to spend there.

CMSP is one of the prettiest of our Tennessee State Parks. I have hiked the trails around the lake, run races on the trails, played on the playgrounds, canoed and paddle boarded and have eaten in the wonderful restaurant. We host our family reunion at the air-conditioned recreational lodge each August then swim in the nice pool afterward. The award winning Bear Trace golf course is one of the best in the state. Camping of all sorts. Cabins of all sizes to rent. Military discounts. Get ready to enjoy.

Camped here in section 5 from 7/4-7/7. Just about the nicest state park campground we’ve ever used. All sites with electric and water and some with sewer. Bathhouse was super clean and nice( magazines and hand lotion were such a nice touch) campground hosts the Trusty’s, were so nice and helpful. Several good hikes here including a swinging bridge trail. Small lake for kayaks and fishing. Great base to explore nearby Pickett State Park and close to Big South Fork National River and Recreation area.

We were looking for a place to get outside and do a hiking trail. This was just what we were looking for - the trail we chose followed along the lake for most of it, and included a cool suspension bridge. Well kept up trail, and a few tiny natural streams trickling through. We had a good day here.

We visited this park just after touring the Homestead Tower Museum a short distance away. They were both built in th1930s as support for the New Deal Homestead resettlement project. The park was to provide recreational facilities for the 252 Homestead families.
We spent time in the old bath house next to the (very nice!) restaurant which told about the CCC crew which constructed the park. Of GREAT interest to us was that the CCC commander was WWI hero Sgt. Alvin York, who ran the faux military unit of the CCC.
Because it was an exceptionally hot, sunny day, we did not try to use any of the outdoor recreational facilities. In milder weather, the hiding trails would be a temptation.

We came to try the restaurant and stumbled across a place we want to return to with our RV. Beautiful, peaceful park and campsites look nice from what we saw as we searched for the restaurant.

The restaurant has a buffet that is fit for a king!
We dined on a Friday night and it was truly outstanding!
Can’t say enough on how much we enjoyed it!
Would recommend the Cumberland Mountain State Park a must visit when you visit Crossville, TN.

This is our first time here. This state park is very nice. Good walking trail options. Nice cabin options. Beautiful lake, bridge & restaurant.

I have hiked there, and when I tell you, it is breathtaking. The trails are challenging, but the scenery is beautiful. It would be a great family outing. I can't wait to go back there again in the summer. I would highly recommend this park!

This is a lovely park with interesting hikes of varying lengths and terrain. Suitable for children and seniors. The restaurant has a lovely view of the reservoir. The food, served buffet style is adequate but not great fare.

This park has several hiking trails, campsites, cabins, outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant. The lake makes for scenic views from the restaurant and the road.

This a wonderful little State Park in the Crossville area. It has a variety of hiking trails and activities. Also a restaurant. The park is in Crossvile and many locals use this park. It can be busy in peak seasons as locals frequent.

This is a state park that provides a nice outdoor area to go and relax with the kids, take a short hike or just soak up some sunshine. The best thing is that they have renovated the restrooms next to the main building. The worst thing is that many areas are in need of updating and improving. However if you just want a good area to get away for a while this is a good stop. Also the restaurant is great too.

We saw the State Park while looking for a destination for vacation and some hiking. We looked at the pictures online and made reservations in one of the cabins in the park. It is small like an efficiency but has all you need for your stay but don't look for a mint on the pillow. You have stove, refrig, microwave, dishes, and linens. There is a TV with cable when it works but it doesn't really matter. There is normally no cellphone coverage in the park which is great. We brought the laptop with some DVDs and that was all we needed. The trails are great to hike and Crossville is roughly 15 minutes from the park with all that you might need and some good restaurants. Cumberland is also a great "home base" for seeing other places like Fall Creek Falls, Rock Island State Park, the Genesis Road and more. We have been several times.

We went on Saturday when it was "All you can eat Ribs". Most places do a crock pot type method to prepare ribs for a buffet, not here. They actually smoke them! Very good, with plenty of sides to choose from. View of the lake is fabulous.

This is a beautiful bridge!! It was very windy while we were there so did not walk trails . We did not eat there but chose to eat at Pour House Bistro.

A very lovely park with a great history! Stop at the visitors building first, then look around. They have camping, cabins, a beautiful lake, walking and hiking trails. So much to do and see. Also, the lodge has an excellent lunch and dinner buffet that is very reasonable, with very efficient and pleasant staff. Throughout the summer, the part offers outdoor entertainment available to all for no cost. How can you beat that?

Love this park. So beautiful. Well cared for. We come every time we get to Crossville. Love the restaurant on site too.

beautiful state park with so many things to do. Nice restaurant. I wish I had more time to spend hiking.

We make the trip here several times a year to eat at the restaurant and walk the grounds. The people have always been friendly, the food consistently good, and the grounds well cared for.

We rented a 'rustic' cabin here for two nights during the week and after schools had started back....so, it was quiet x 10! And we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only negative thing I would have to say is that the pool was closed when I wanted to go and it was HOT. The cabin was rustic, but clean, the linens were good and the beds slept good too. I would suggest that the cleaning crew occasionally get all the bugs out of the window sills. The bridges are a must see, stunning. The park restaurant was really pretty, clean with good cooks and beautiful views. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. You will enjoy your stay here no doubt. You have to drive to the golf course if you want to play on it but it is only 5 minutes away.

Met friends there to eat and enjoyed the food and service. Pleasant décor and friendly waiters and service.

We visit this state park often. It offers a variety of activities for everyone young and old from fishing, trail walking, bird watching, playgrounds, photography spots, and event locations. It is a beautiful area with old stone. Very much worth the time spent here.

Good place for a hike around the lake then over a suspension bridge. Small aviary with some owls and hawks. Restaurant and plenty of places to picnic. Good place for kids and families.

Our family has been going here for 10+ years to run the State Park Running Tour race...very attractive newly-redone bathhouse seating area with excellent stonework, gas fireplace. Cabins, close proximity to Crossville make this a great choice for family gatherings.

If you are visiting or staying at the Cumberland Mountain State Park located four miles outside of Crossville, Tn. take some time out of your schedule to visit the Cumberland Homesteads Historic Museum and Tower.
The museum provides excellent insight into the lives of those families that were apart of Cumberland Homesteads which was one of the largest New Deal Subsistence Homestead Communities built from 1934-1941.
There were over 100 homes built to support families and the community. A lot of those homes are still in existence today and are quickly identifiable due to their Crab Orchard Stone construction. The district is listed in the National Register of Historic places.

My first time here...should have come a week or two earlier and the leaves would have been at their peak but this is a beautiful well laid out state park.

I went to see the view and ended up hiking a trail.
The weather was sunny and cool. It was a beautiful day to
be in the park. Also went to lunch at the buffet...Yum1
They will help you with anything you need. Lovely outing!

We stopped in as a break from the car on the trip home and we were surprised at how nice the park is! We ended up spending 2 hours there just walking around the dam/lake area. Very peaceful, park rangers were around, and clean!

We went on a Sunday. We arrived around 6:30pm. It closes at 8 pm. The food was fresh and hot. The menu changes daily. I was impressed with the delicious and many salad bar items. The creamed corn, green beans, creamed peas, fried chicken, bbq chicken, roast beef, gravy, cold ham was delicious also. Desert was vanilla or chocolate ice cream., choc. Cake/choc. Icing, yellow cake/peanut butter icing, choc. Pudding cake or pineapple cake. Senior discount too.

5 Ladies that came to bowl in the TN State Bowling Tournament decided to stay in a cabin on the TN State Park. We stayed for 2 nights in a beautiful cabin with 4 double beds, a full kitchen, a patio and a majestic fireplace. Our only regret was that we only had time to stay 2 nights and didn't have time to do anything on the park. The Homestead Houses, Water tower are both located on the park. They have good fishing and trails, just to mention a few activities. You can choose to cook,go to the park restaurant or drive into Crossville to eat ( it's only app 4/5 miles to great restaurants). The park offers good cell phone sere for ATT therefore most teens would be satisfied with an outing to this park. There are several play grounds located around the park for children of various ages. Cumberland Mountain State Park has something for everything regardless of your age, just contact the park office for more information or log into the TN Parks. Be prepared to have a great time and the cost was minimum.

We visited twice once as a couple with a friend and once as a family with young children . We hiked a couple of trails both days . One was the same trail. We had a picnic at the same area . The restrooms were clean and in working order.

Excellent campground. The Tennessee state parks in East Tennessee are excellent! This is a small park but have excellent facilities and recreational activities. The on site restaurant serves an excellent lunch and dinner buffet but also offer a la carte menu selections.

This state park is in a beautiful setting. The bridge was built during the CCC Roosevelt period. There is a restaurant located on the lake, which would have made a lovely setting for us. We didn't eat there because there were 2 buses of tourists already there, so it was too crowded. However, that wouldn't stop us from returning if we're ever in the area again.

We are staying here 1 night- a quiet September night. The neighbors are pretty close, but campsites are angled so you don't feel crowded. My walk around the pond was rewarding. It was only about 1 1/2 miles and rather level. I stopped to watch the geese and a couple noisy woodpeckers and take some fine pictures. I wished I had mosquito repellant though. I would definitely recommend this campground.

What an awesome place .We enjoyed the Peace and Quiet . As well as the Beauty of this park...We fed the Geese and watched a young boy talking to them .It looked as if they were hearing his every word

This park offers gorgeous scenery along with great hiking trails. There is a small one miler all the way up to an eight mile overnighter. In the summer months they have paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, & paddle boats for you to rent very inexpensively.

This is a beautiful place to visit and the cafeteria is enjoyable (especially if a table near the windows is available). However, I cannot highly recommend the rustic cabins. We've stayed in several different ones and they are are simply not comfortable. Granted, think they were built in the 30's, but I feel updates should be made. One of them in which we were to stay was in horrible disrepair and hadn't been cleaned well (we found a dead roach in the kitchen and a spider in the bathroom). We moved to a hotel that night. We did enjoy the convenience of the charcoal grill outside and playing games on the screened-in porch of the cabin we rented the next visit.

We hiked the Short Pioneer Loop trail and found it to be interesting terrain, even though it's flat (lots of rocks and tree roots, hugs the lake, crosses the swinging bridge). There is a small aviary across from the visitor center that's worth stopping by. The Byrd Lake trail has a story along it that adds entertainment to the path. The CCC museum is worth a few minutes (or more, depending on your knowledge of the CCC) Nice park!

Love the park, the restaurant and most of all the trails for hiking. We saw a fawn on one of our hikes. The amenities were clean , plenty of places to rest. Don’t miss this one 👍

This was the prettiest park! We walked the Pioneer Short Loop and it is by far the prettiest trail in the area! We’ll be back. Just watch out for snakes around the caves and in the damp spots along the trail! We saw 3!

Absolutely beautiful park. Lots of trails and cabins. Restaurant has a good reputation but was closed due to Covid. Would like to spend more time there but rain was a problem. Visitor center was very helpful.

Visited the Cumberland Mountain State Park with wife and two daughters while we were vacationing in the Crossville area. We wanted to enjoy some fresh air and nature, and the park offered multiple hiking trails as well as various other activities. There were park rangers present when we arrived and inquired about the trails available. Rangers were both friendly and helpful in assisting us.
We ended up spending a couple hours walking three of the different hiking trails. One of the trails was fairly short and paved, which made for very easy walking. The other two trails that we hiked were longer and natural terrain (i.e., dirt paths). Park is well maintained and kept clean, so very enjoyable experience being able to casually walk around. Enjoyed our experience enough that we went back a couple more times later in the week to revisit some of the sights and/or hike some of the other trails that we didn't previously experience.
Cannot say much about the campsites or pool, since we didn't visit those during our time there. We would definitely visit the park again when our travels take us back to that area, so maybe we'll check out some of the things that we missed another time.

beautiful with hiking, kayaking, and canoeing. great staff. terrifc for day trip or overnight cabins and camping.

Spend the entire day hiking the various trails. The one around the lake provided us views od some of the water life, various birds and great fal colors.

Rib Night on Saturday is the best buffet in town! Beautiful setting of the old bridge, pretty enough to paint! If you love good fresh home-cooked food, this is the place. Hard to resist going back for seconds! Cumberland State Park Restaurant.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cabins. The restaurant that is actually on the state park property is fantastic. It also has a boat and canoe rental at a reasonable rate and the people treated us GREAT. We will return!

This park has so many activities. Boat rentals, hiking, fishing, horseshoes, basketball and swimming just to name a few. The CCC built several structures in this park and they are just beautiful. We stayed in one of the rustic cabins. It was clean and neat.

I stayed at this park the week after Easter. The park was still on its winter hours. That was ok because we had our own Kayaks and it was a little cool for the pool. The fishing was good, The weather was East TN weather, so it rained, was sunny and rained again. The kids loved the playgrounds and being able to fish and kayak and bike without many people being there. The restaurant was awesome. Can't say enough about it.
The only reason for taking a star away is that we stayed in the cabins. They were clean, but they showed their age. The cabin was comfortable and perfect for my family. We were told by friends that have stayed previously at the cabins to bring large ziplock bags for any food that was not going to be in the Refrigerator. The ants are a problem. The cleaning staff and maint. guys were awesome in the attention they gave it, but the ant problem was not going away that fast. I look at this way. I knew the problem existed, I planned for it, I had a great time.
I highly recommend this state park for any and all activities is has to offer, and if you're in the area or passing through, Please stop by the restaurant for a meal. It is well worth it!

I did not find the experience great, and the food was okay at best. I thought the buffet was so so, and they didn't have a lot of choices and it was mostly Park guests and locals

We visited this park and started with a picnic in the picnic area. They have a playground for the kids and lots of tables to sit at. Many are shaded which was nice on the hot day. Although the grill at our table was rusted out on the bottom. Wasn't a problem for us but would be for someone wanting to grill. They have a nice restaurant on site. We did not visit it but have heard good things about it. We did take a walk across the bridge and around the lake. It was a good walk under the trees. At one point the trail takes you to the boating area where you can rent canoes or paddle boats. If you continue on the trail, you come to a swinging bridge. We decided to cross on the bridge instead of going further on the trail. The park was clean. The restrooms needed a little TLC but that is kinda expected in a State Park unfortunately.

Took a 2year old and a five year older for a play day and a picnic. The play ground was nice except the slides were hot, because it was a sunny, hot day. Picnic area was near the playground which was great. Walked to the river where the geese were playing. The children loved watching the geese and other animals. It was a great day.

We found this park in the early 1970 when we first started visiting Crossville. It is a small park, however, it is one of my favorite. There are several hiking trails, boat, pedal boats, canoes, paddle boards and both single and double kayaks for rent. There is a campground and also cabins for rent. Byrd Creek runs into Byrd Lake and there is a most unusual bridge and dam built by the CCC. Unfortunately there is no swimming in the lake, but there is a pool. There are also picnic tables and shelters through out the park and a playground.
The old bathhouse was turned into a museum and is a beautiful structure in itself. The walk ways are construct of some of the most magnificent Tennessee Crab Orchard Stone I have ever seen. The restaurant serves a buffet style lunch and dinner, the food is good and the view is outstanding. Check the calendar of events, sometimes there are free live concerts on the patio at the museum. There are also Jr. Ranger programs for children and 5K runs several times a year. Cumberland Mountain State Park is also home to the Bear Trace Golf Course. I moved to Crossville TN and visit this park several times a month. You will not be disappointed.

We frequently go on Friday for catfish. Food consistently good and service good for buffet-type place. Other nights have specials that are southern-country cooking.

fortunately for us we were able to stay in a cabin inside the park during very uncrowded times. the bridges are just beautiful. you can rent a 'boat' if you want to explore the lake. the park restaurant was very clean and the food was good. all the service and park staff are very friendly and helpful. Crossville is close enough to go find something else to do for the day and the golf course is beautifully maintained. we had a great getaway here.

We stayed in area 4 site 111. This is a very shaded area if you like shade. This area stayed cool compared to other sites in the park. The host and volunteers are very nice and helpful. KEEP in mind the sun does not shine alot so if it rains your site may stay wet alot time. Or if it rained before you come the site may be wet.
My kids liked the fish in the creek behind our camp site and in the lake. I like this area because there was area for kids play and ride their bikes. KEEP in mind in pool is 1 mile away from this site on the other side of the park.
The bathhouse in the area 4 was clean and will taking care of in this area. My wife when to other and it was not so clean.

we live close by , but went to check it out before family came to visit and camp their , nice place , good trails , pretty lake , great place to camp

We have our annual fall camping trip somewhere different and this year is was here. It's a small campground with few sewer hookups. But the bath house has soap and paper towels and real mirrors. The camping spots are ok. The paved drive could be wider since they do pose a fall hazard since they are quite tall. Our camper step came almost to the end of the pavement so you had another step down to get to the level surface.
The leaves are changing this week and beautiful. The sights are a little crowded. The trees are dropping acorns and sound pretty loud hitting the camper roof. But it is a nice place to relax. Close to Crossville. We went to the scarecrow festival in Granville, TN and it was pretty interesting. Close to Ozone falls which is very pretty. Several hiking trails around the lake are really pretty and not strenuous at all.

Many campsites and a lovely park with a restaurant. There’s a nice walking path along the lake and even a CCC exhibit. Campground bathrooms are dated but clean, warm and functional well. Lots of hot water and water pressure. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The handicap site in #1 loop is close to the bathroom but the site and picnic table are NOT at all handicapped friendly!!!

We needed a break to stretch our legs with 2 dogs and decided on this nice park. A lot of people by the lake and walking with their pups. I'm surprised for January with how many people but it was beautiful for a 40° day. I would come back again.

The best park rangers! Never forget to check in with the rangers before hiking or playing on the water.

Was looking for a good place with a variety of trails that were easy for my young kids. The trails here were great as they were easy to walk, clearly marked and very scenic.

Wonderful staff and very pleasant. Food is delicious and homemade. I want to compliment the staff as I know it must be hard, especially on holidays and events to prepare and serve such quality foods.

We strolled along the lake and had a picnic lunch on the lakeshore. Popped into the museum and learned a bit from the video and displays about the CCC. Love the views and the waterfall effect of the bridge.

This park has a very nice scenery and great staff. Has a nice buffet restaurant on site and a seasonal pool.

The wife and I had some time away without the kids. Decided to spend the day and then the night at Cumberland Mountain. On our first day, we canoed, did a short hike, and then ate at the restaurant. Great experience. We wanted to spend the night so we did. Busy Fourth of July so most of the place was booked and had little time to commit so the three-day minimal reservation was out. Instead, we chose the more adventurous route. We backpacked up the overnight trail and spent the night under the stars and fireworks atop Cumberland Mountain. The primitive campsite was perfect for a couple willing to trek up to it. Definitely plan on returning.

What a great place for a nice peaceful hike! The bridge, lake are just breathtaking and I am from Colorado. The water is so smooth you can see the reflection of the bridge in the water!! They have a boat ramp with paddle boards, paddle boats, kayaks, etc It was rainy and the water was so high, that there was no one there.

Campsites have water and electric, no sewer but sites are large, shaded, well spaced and well maintained. We stayed in a 40 ft class A with our two dogs. Trails were awesome to explore, many waterfalls in the area and even the camp restaurant was awesome when we were tired of cooking our own food. I would definitely come back again with my kids to explore more.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cumberland Mtn State Park this weekend. The site we was located at was a perfect place to relax. We took our bikes and kayaks along with us and enjoyed traveling on the bikes from our site around the area and to the little camp store. (The lady working the store was precious) Kayaking on the "lake" was nice also. As for the walking trails we took the Pioneer trail and the Byrd Creek Trail. The pool was nice lots of lifeguards on site. My only complaint about our trip would be the trails could use some work. Some spots on both but more so the Byrd Creek are over grown. As in the words of my 10 year old "Nature is touching me". We live 5 minutes from another state park, and also have been to others and this ones trails was by far my least favorite due to this reason alone. At a few spots we could not even tell if we were still on the trail or not. We also would have liked to take the Mtn bike trail (We done it back in November '17) but after walking the trails decided not to this trip and wait until cooler weather when the plant life was less plenty. Also one last thing to add, I did not see any signs in place to let people know about the bike trail. If it was not for the state parks page listing it you would never know about it.

Great place to picnic. They have an amazing, huge pool for a small fee. Beautiful area. My family and I visit this park every year while on vacation from Wisconsin.

Scenic and easy 1.8 mike trail around Byrd Lake. We didn’t hike the additional .5 hike to the dam and drove instead. Even with COVID there were a couple craft vendors and food stand near the swimming pool. Great park for an easy hike to enjoy the fall weather.

Fish on Fridays & BBQ ribs on Sat. Both are very good but the ribs are the best. Done in their own smoker. Buffet style along with good veggies & deserts. The view from the windows is great.

If you are hungry and don’t want to stop at a chain, this is the place to drop in to see the scenery and have a great meal!

10 stars! We hiked the short Loop also called the white trail with our dog. Breathtaking. The ropes bridge was beautiful.

We visited the park for a little hiking, photography and a great meal at the park restaurant. All our expectations were exceeded. The campground appears well appointed and comfortable and the restaurant is Fantastic! Great sites to see and photograph and interesting history.

We went hiking, checked out cabins for rent, toured one, checked out restaurant hours, menu, etc. easy to get to from our campground.

A little getaway close to town. Beautiful scenery and a shady trail around the lake. They also have some nature trails on the other side of the falls that give you a good hike along the creek. They have little stations for kids along the path to learn a little about the creatures who live there. The only thing that would make it better is if there was a sidewalk over the falls so cars don’t have to maneuver around people continuing around the lake. That can be a bit dangerous if there are a lot of people and traffic. Don’t forget the bread! The geese come up to you with their mouths open expecting something then walk away let down.

We've been visiting this park for the past 15+ years.
It's a great place for day hikes on various trails (we on occasion bring our dog/s). Fun to watch various types of wildlife.
And of course, especially nice is visiting the restaurant after you've worked up an appetite. It's home to one of our favorite places to eat in the area.

Cumberland Mountain State Park is beautiful. We enjoyed a few hours there exploring the park, enjoying nature, and eating at the Homestead Harvest Restaurant. The Saturday evening buffet with bbq ribs, pulled pork, baked chicken, many vegetables, a great salad bar, two wonderful soups, and a host of delicious desserts was a treasure trove for a food lover like me. If you can visit, you'll like the park, but you'll love the buffet!

Actually went there to explore surroundings. While we are not campers, it looks like a great site for RV's, Tents, etc. Small lake. Lots of trails, including bike trails. We just drove around and enjoyed the scenery.

We were headed to an RV park when we saw there was a state park on our way, glad we decided to stop! It was so much better than a private park! Great place to walk, enjoy nature, nice camping area, quiet and peaceful.

When we walked into the Cabin we were pleased. Freshly cleaned and well kept. Everything provided for a great stay . A couple of issues with shower being plugged and ant issue but the rest was very nice. Olympic size pool available for small charge and boat rental.
Everything seem to shut down by 530 at night which seems early.

This is a beautiful park with lots of things to do and cabins/tent sites. It also has an aviary so you can see some birds of prey.

We camped here last weekend and enjoyed checking out the trails and scenery. We walked down a trail beside the bridge and took pictures and we checked out the birds in the aviary. The campsite was nice and decently private. We had spot 64. It was also flat. We kept hearing great things about the buffet but we were a little disappointed. There wasn't a big selection for the price. We also tried out the new kayak launch and loved it!

Really nice state park love the trails would be a five but some of the restrooms are not very well-kept, but for the most part, the park is Great I absolutely love the display and museum about how it was built. Very nice.

Usually Tn state park buffets are excellent. This one is only average now. We even went the second night ..thinking we had just gotten a bad experience on the first night. Salad bar and desserts were good. However, the meats were overcooked lukewarm, and veggies were over seasoned with sugar. Service and servers were good. Food was not up to usual standards.

This is a nice park. We have enjoyed the picnic area. We love the hiking trails around Byrd lake......the bridges add interest not counting the fat man sqeeze.

This park has much to take advantage of such as fishing, playgrounds, swimming pool, restaurant. We really enjoyed our visit. Went back several times.

This is a park that has something for everyone. We found the WPA era stone bridge to be particularly photogenic. Near the bridge, there's a good restaurant, a facility with illustrations and information showing skilled craftsmanship from the depression years and new clean restrooms. The only negative was the many begging ducks and their droppings along the lake' walkway.. Also on property is a huge swimming pool although we did not enter. We drove by numerous camping sites. The Cumberland Mountain park is definitely worth your time to visit.

When you find a restaurant that is a favorite of the local populace, what else do you need to know?! The Park restaurant smokes their own meats - delicious!! Family buffet is the only way to go, with a different food featured each evening. The restaurant overlooks scenic Byrd Lake - get a table by the window! Cabins are lovely, kayaks and paddle boards available for rent, Olympic-size outdoor pool, many hiking trails - all makes for a lovely, quiet and restful place to re-charge. Cool aviary with a barred owl is a treat for the kids. Historic, Depression-era stone homes and bridges are part of the Park and surrounding countryside, that represent America's first "planned communities" to rescue struggling families of Appalachia.

What a pleasant surprise here in Tennessee. This park is enormous! Gorgeous old stone bridge spanning a small river in the park. There are restroom facilities and a decent restaurant as well which opens around 4PM. A museum that discusses the history of the park and the stone bridge.
Visitors can rent beautiful rustic cabins that are available in 3 general categories depending on the needs and desires of the occupants. A few even offer WIFI.
This park is a diamond in the wilderness and area residents are fortunate to have the state offer this park for rest and relaxation from the daily rigors of every day life.
Enjoy!

Very nice , clean park with plenty to do for all ages. They have many pavilions that can be used for group cookouts ect.

Pretty and fun. They have alot to do there. tons of trails to hike and play grounds and swings for kids.

We stayed 3 days at Cumberland Mountain State park and rented a cabin with friends. The cabin was comfortable enough, although a little dated. We enjoyed the location and leaves just turning into fall colors. The reception staff is not super friendly but we did not interact with them that much. Other friends camping there and the campsites looked nice.

Great park for hiking with children or older people. Wooded and clearly marked trails. Interesting landscapes. All trails are classified as easy. I only hiked the pioneer short trail because I was short on time. Loved the suspension bridge and the huge pine trees were a Beauty to look at.

The park itself & the hiking trails were great! We stayed in TL3 cabin because we couldn’t get a camping space, all reserved for the time we wanted. The cabin was a dump. I understand a cabin being rustic, big difference in the cabin not having any repairs done. Kitchen tap coming out of sink, very little cooking utensils. Hornets nest above front door, screen completely coming off front door frame. Light bulbs burnt out, just very disappointed in the cabin. It would take very little money & effort to have some of these thing fixed. Obviously nobody cares!

Great place to visit if you like the outdoors. Food at the place for lunch is quite tasty, dinner not so much. Never had a great dinner there. Lunch yes, I can recommend. I don't like overdone dried out foods and 2 times friends insisted on treating us there over a 6-month period even though I did not pay for it was very disappointed.

This place is great for hiking or having a picnic. There are trails that go all around the lake there and also an excellent restaurant onsite.

Enjoyable hikes ranging from 1-5 miles in length. The trails are well marked and not too challenging. Nice way to spend an hour or two.

We enjoyed walking around half the lake. It has cute boards for little ones that explains something in nature and asks the child to listen or look for things. The stone bridge, built during the Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps which was a work program during the Great Depression. was impressive. Under the bridge water flows through the arches and down like a waterfall. Nice stop!

First my wife and I hiked miles. The next day we did a short hike with my father who is seventy-seven. This area is well kept and very safe.

This is our second trip to this beautiful park. The first stay was on our way out west from NC. We stayed in site 36 which was big but a bear to maneauver our travel trailer into. After several attempts the camp host drove up to help us. He was very helpful not only with helping us get situated in the space but with some advice about some mountain passes we were heading toward. Our second trip was on our wag back east. This time we picked our site more carefully and decided on site 45. It was easy to get into but it does not have much shade. We biked over to the restaurant to enjoy the buffet. The price was reasonable at $9.75 per adult and half price for kids 12 and under. The staff was attentive and accommodating. We will be back.

Really enjoyed walking around the lake and looking at the bridge. We didn't take full advantage of the park as it was a stop on a road trip, but it was gorgeous.

Nice, well-maintained recreational area for both children and adults. Easy walking trails, boat rentals for the lake, playground. We saw deer & wild turkeys.

This is a very nice park with cabins to rent a very nice restaurant to eat at alot of things to do here

Cumberland Mountain State Park is a small state park with a lake for fishing and non-motorized boating. There is a place to rent boats as well as a large swimming pool with 2 diving boards open to visitors. The park has several hikes around the lake area. The camp ground hosts both tents and RVs. The park also has a restaurant that serves a buffet dinner. It is fairly standard fare for state park restaurants.

We stayed for 4 nights at Cumberland Mt. state park, and even though it was raining off and on for three of the days, we still had fun. The lake and bridge are beautiful, and the trails are very nice. Not too strenuous, but a nice variety of lengths to choose from. The byrd trail takes you along the river, through deep forest reminiscent of the Pacific northwest, with lots of huge spruce and pine. The Olympic size pool complex is one of the nicest I've seen at a park, with plenty of seats, lots of shade, and a snack bar. There's also a smaller pool for the little kids. We didn't get to go kayaking on the lake, but definitely will next time. And the restaurant overlooks the lake, with a nice buffet of delicious food. Some of the desserts weren't as good, (dry brownies and cakes) but the pineapple cobbler was good. There is a small but interesting museum, and they have art and nature programs for all ages. We looked at the different camping loops, and were glad we were in loop 5 ( we were in an rv.). 1 and 2 are closer to the bridge and restaurant, and are for both tents and rv's. Families with children seem to like loops 1,2,and 3. Some sites are kinda close together. 3 was fairly shaded, site size ok but not great, 4 was in deeper pine woods, with some smaller sites but a few decent sized as well. The bath house in 4 was rather old, decently clean. Loop 5 was the farthest from everything (but still not too far), with some larger sites and a nicer bath house. But really, none of the areas are bad. They're all beautiful and kept clean. The only thing we were disappointed in was the camp store. It was basically some almost empty shelves, with a few candy bars and marshmallows for smores, a couple of t shirts and water bottles, and odd little Ranger dolls. No shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper, band aids, snacks, or anything. For a park that size, you would think they would carry a few basic necessities. But this really is a beautiful park with lots to do for all ages. We don't usually go to the same parks over and over, but this one is worth a repeat visit!

This is a beautiful place, a real treat. We really enjoyed our time exploring and seeing what the park had to offer. The cabins looked great for a future adventure, but a two night minimum is required.

A lovely setting with good access, but the geese make it hard to walk without stepping in doo-doo. We have a lovely photo by the bridge, which my nephew from Indiana recognized right away!

We didn't have reservations but were able to stay for a Thursday and Friday night during the height of leaf peepers weekends. The sites we occupied were fairly level. The bath house on our loop was new. There was plenty of space between campsites. City water and individual garbage cans at each site were convenient. Even on Friday night when every site was occupied, there was minimal noise. We enjoyed our brief stay and would stop here again if we are ever in the vicinity. However, with over 125 camping sites there should have been more than ONE dump station.

We stayed in Fairfield Glade for two weeks and took many day trips to explore the different areas. We also are avid geo-cachers so we saw many places that normal sightseers never see.

We stayed in the campground with our motorhome. The campground has some excellent sites and some that could require significant leveling of a motorhome or trailer. Several sites had very nice layouts for tent campers. Our site was level and had full hookups. We also visited with relatives who had rented cabins. Some cabins were extremely nice and some were okay. The park also has a nice small lake, as well as a few nice shelters available for reunions. Those shelters can be reserved perhaps a year in advance and so it's necessary to really plan ahead. There is also a very nice restaurant overlooking the lake. We didn't eat there but the Sunday breakfast bar looked delicious.

This state park has it all! They have cabin rentals, but the restaurant is wonderful too. Very scenic walking trails and plenty to do

A nice place to visit. Great trails👫
Nice buffet and great scenery. Friendly staff🌟We had a vet nice time!

We saw this park while looking to do something near where we were staying. This state park is beautiful and seems like it never ends. The history behind it is fascinating and I wish we had more time to explore it further.

About 30 ladies came to the restaurant for lunch. The buffet was very good, with a full salad bar, 2 entrees, and plenty of side dishes and desserts. The pork chops were heavenly! Wait staff were brisk and attentive. There are beautiful views of the river from the restaurant. Check out the gift shop on your way out.

We traveled here a few times during our recent trip to Fairfield Glade. The park is absolutely beautiful. We hiked the Cumberland Plateau trail with our 4 small children twice bc they loved it so much. Had lunch at the restaurant and they were very welcoming and the food was great.

The park was not up kept and there were feces from all sorts of animals scattered throughout the play ground. Not very safe or sanitary for the kids. Not sure if its like this during the summer but we will stay away!

This state Park is very Beautiful, only was able to see a few areas of the park. The lake is very nice & there were ducks swimming very close to us. Would love to go back when we have more time to see more of the park.

I absolutely love this state park. The trails are in pristine condition, the location is convenient and the rangers are very knowledgeable and helpful. This is a great place to take the family anytime of year!

We were staying nearby and drove a very short distance to the Cumberland Mountain state park. The lodge has a nice restuarant and gift shop. There is a lake, called Duck lake created by the bridge/dam that was built by the CCC during the depression. It is a lovely place.

Average buffet with salad bar and dessert. Not worth the drive out there and not worth waiting a long Sunday line. If you find the group wants to go then go. The food is basic but filling. The service is average but nice. Walking around outside has a few nice spots here and there just watch your step if you have heels on or not balanced. Parking can be a challenge.

Our son was visiting us and we brought him to eat at the Buffet. The Buffet and service were very good. Then we took him over to see the Museum, which is very interesting. Then took walk to see where the boat dock is. What a nice place to eat and get to know about Tennessee.

My dear wife and I just wanted to get out of the house for a few days with our Lab. The park is in a beautiful rustic setting but some sites need a little TLC. The host were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good buffet at reasonable prices with great views of Byrd Lake. We really enjoyed our stay and will return again.

I would stay again but fact is this campground has little to offer so you would think they would get this place in shape. The lake is a disaster no one in their right mind would venture out onto the lake due to the nasty water, it needs to be DRAINED and do something about all the algae and geese droppings I would have liked to have rented a kayak but would not for fear of catching something if I rolled it over and fell out..They are building a new trail but was not finished, the internet is a disaster you get a coupon for the first 4 days of your stay or so much data then u have to buy a "coupon" for $9.95 for more data. I thought I had used it up in one day and I bought another "coupon" but fact was the internet was down and never came up until I was leaving so $9.95 wasted because I never got to use the "coupon" so beware and let Tengo internet keep their "coupons".

The cabin they provided us was dirty and run down. It was not anything like what was advertised on their website. Will never go back.

a lovely state park with plentiful trees, water, and boat rental, very quiet and peaceful. there is a lodge with buffet and excellent views of the lake while dinning

This is a pretty nice park to visit. There is a beautiful restaurant but would not recommend the food.

This park is one of the "New Deal" projects that FDR started. They have a very interesting little museum there that tells about the history of the park. Too, there is a restaurant that serves a buffet meal for lunch and dinner that is pretty darn good! Great hiking trails too! Check it out!

You can take a hike, although the trails are not great, and then enjoy a wonderful buffet that is reasonably priced and has a wide selection to choose from. The view is great too. We've been here a few times and plan to go back on our next visit to Crossville. The wait staff is excellent too. I highly recommend.

Wow, a great picture window scenery all around while dining. Comfortable atmosphere here, great selection of food, good prices, fantastic service. Love coming here to eat.

Cumberland Mountain is a short distance from our home (2 hours) and is a great place to waste a leisure day! Great restaurant and lunch buffet, too!!!

We stayed in Timberlodge 2 cabin August 9-11 2019. I have emailed TN State Parks but have not heard back so I am forced to write this review to warn others because i feel like they are not going to gix this issue. I hate leaving negative reviews but their non response tells me they do not care. Our cabin was infested with bed bugs. I have 38 bites on just myself. We know these are bedbugs because we found a bug crawling on my 3 year olds shirt the day we left. This cabin was filthy. The dishes had dead bugs on them and there was garbage on the floors. It had been vandalized and never cleaned after. The deck was being held together with zip ties and we were afraid to let the kids on it. I called the office about the bed bugs and they said yes they have had bed bug problems. They are still renting cabins. I have stayed in many state parks and this is by far the worst. Now we are worried we brought bed bugs home. We had 5 young children that were subjected to this. PLEASE CALL AN EXTERMINATOR AND CLEAN UP!

We stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend and were very pleased. The campground is larger than I expected and we had to wind into the rear area but the spot was very good and wide and easy to access. Plenty of room with nice camp fire ring. The bath house was very clean with nice showers. We usually camp in Fall Creek Falls, but this park was nice and we'll go back. The state park's buffets are usually always great, and this one was good, but maybe as good as some others we've been to lately.

Enjoy a beautiful meal at Cumberland Mountain State Park. The dining room has large windows that look out on arched bridge of stone and large body of water with ducks and geese. The buffet meal was very good. Salad options were somewhat limited but main course was plentiful. On the day I was there the main course was chicken and dumplings (chicken was somewhat sparse in the gravy) and breaded pork chops. Many vegetable choices too. Desserts included banana pudding and several kinds of cake and soft serve ice cream.

Pleasant travel to the park, and it's easy to find. We were wandering about whiling away a few hours until our room was ready and just pulled in to see what was happening.
The park itself is divided up into several sections, so you're not jammed in with everyone. We went over to the pool and rec center and had a picnic lunch on outdoor tables. It was a very pleasant afternoon, even though it was pretty hot everywhere else.
Then we travelled over the WPA bridge over to the landings area and wandered about on the trails. All-in-all a great afternoon.

We stayed in area 2 campsite 40 It had
50 & 30 amp electric service , good water pressure. The parking pad was paved and level
The whole campground was clean and well kept
We Saw at least one , but most times 2 & 3 park employee everyday. Emptying trash cans , cleaning out fire pits & BBQ grills and cleaning up
The WiFi was good and stayed connected
The on-site restaurant was great.
Had a awesome buffet most nights !
We will be back again

Great hikes. Area was well maintained. Trailheads a little hard to locate. Traffic was light. Area was beautiful.

Good food hot fresh well prepared.
The view is outstanding. The service good.
There is nothing else to say, Go eat here, You will be happy.

Lots to do at the Park. We have not camped here yet but have driven through multiple times. Nice campsites. Park has an Olympic size swimming pool with a high dive and low dive for a nominal fee of $5. The bridge is the most photographed bridge in TN and is beautiful dam making a pond that some do kayak or paddle boarding. We have eaten at the restaurant for the Friday buffet multiple times and love it. Good selection and best catfish and banana pudding ever. Full bar. Nice sitting area outside of the restaurant. Lots of swings, baseball diamonds. Bear Trace golf course is highly rated.

Beautiful state park. Cabins looked inviting from outside. Would love to walk trails but physically limited now. Restaurant was great in past. Did not visit on this trip.

Ive been enjoying the buffet here for 20 years and I hope to enjoy it 20 more! Fabulous home cooking, banana pudding to die for and fabulous coffee. Very much worth the trip to Cumberland Mtn State Park. #tonyatallulah

This used to be the best seafood buffet I have ever been to .. The grounds and the hiking in the area providing a pleasant place to visit . There is an excellent golf course close by . The grounds were well-kept ,service was congenial and it was an excellent value for the money . The last time I went the food was presented like a soup kitchen . The golf course clientele acted as though you were bothering them . My conclusion in observing the clientele that gorges themselves in the dining area has taken it's toll . I see people reaching in the areas with food with their hands. Big people with big plates with half eaten food. The visitors throw papers on the grounds and leave their junk laying around like it belongs to only them. The bones are still there however the quality is disappearing fast .

One of my favorite state parks. Booked a rustic cabin and could not have been more pleased. It was immaculate and well equipped with all the modern conveniences while retaining its rustic atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the screen porch and wood burning fireplace. Definitely recommend and would not hesitate to return.

We walked over 4 miles on the red and the yellow trails. Nothing too strenuous but climbed over a fallen tree here and there. The trail is hard-packed dirt and occasional rocks. It follows Byrd Creek, crosses a couple places, and returns ending up right by that gorgeous historic damn/bridge. Great area for pictures! After our hike we drove through more of the park. There are well-kept playgrounds and camping areas, a tennis court and a rugged ball field. We so enjoyed our afternoon there!

Quite, cozy, and fantastic, my wife and I took a few days to relax, unwind and enjoy time together ❤️.
We pick lucky cabin #13, a newly renovated CCC cabin. Beautiful setting in a reserved area for cabin only renters... Spacious for us, Plus an extra bed 🛌 if we had a guest stay.
New kitchen, air and central heat, real wood burning 🔥 fireplace, nicely equipped and at the time wood 🪵 included. Bathroom was good, hot water, nice shower 🚿, life is good in the woods. Quite evening next to a lake, surrounded by trees and nature.
We had driven in from KY, visited several stops down 127S, Forbus General Store (Excellent), Sargeant Alvin York Homestead and Grist Mill State Park (WW1 Hero) another excellent stop... then I40 to Buccees for cheap fuel, about 6 miles from Cumberland Mtn St Park, on 127S.
We arrived late, 5 pm, picked up our cabin key, and let ourselves in. Stocked the kitchen and unpacked our stuff for the next few days. As it was still light outside, we took a stroll around the lake, and enjoyed the easy pleasant walk, returning to our cabins in less than 30 minutes.
As dusk approached I started a fire in the fireplace. I had purchased certified firewood, which is heat treated to kill all bugs 🐛 😑 😳, to prevent spread in the state park. The wood I purchased was really dry, so with a few pieces of ripped up newspaper, some dry pine needles and twigs stuffed in a brown paper bag, I just lit the bag, place the wood on top, and boom, fire 🔥 😎.
Now the dry wood burns hot and fast, but the park had some wood 🪵 outside stacked for fireplace use. Even with several of my dry pieces burning, it was tough getting the park wood to stay on fire. But it eventually dried out enough to burn quite nicely 👌.
We enjoyed the fire, crackling, and jumping as we talked and enjoyed the cozy evening 😀.

This is one of the prettiest state parks I have been in and I have seen a lot! There is a restaurant with daily buffets with really good food. Lots of hiking trails, camping for tents and RV's and cabins to rent. There is a lake for swimming, fishing, etc. There is also Bear Trace Golf Course, a Jack Nicolaus designed golf course, for your golfer. The setting is just beautiful.

The box steps have been completed, that lead to the base of the Bridge/Dam, which is the largest masonry structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930's.

We didn't have a chance to eat at the restaurant, but enjoyed walking by the lake and taking photos of the bridge that was built by the CCC

This is another example of the great things that the "new deal" did. The arch bridge is worth the visit in itself.. there is a restaurant that we did not partake of but I think it had a good buffet.

We always visit here when we travel in Tennessee. My husband and I love to hike the trails, spend time in the visiter center and even eat a meal! Such a pleasant place to be!

We went there for lunch but stay a while to drive around and check out the park. A super park built by CCC during the depression. Many cabins to stay, playground equipment for kids, all sorts of sports fields and of course the lake for fishing and all sorts of water sports. We were able to take some beautiful pictures around the lake and of the bridge. Not much rain in this part of Tenn So beautiful, wonderful photo there was no waterfalls to capture on the backside of the bridge. We though this to be a quite place to relax. There is a small museum showing the history of park and work of CCC. Very clean and a awesome place to visit.

I live in Crossville, so I go here with my family quite often. Not too fond of the restaurant's food (too fried), but a lot of peeps like it. The rest of the park is fantastic. Small museum, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and lots of beautiful hikes around the lake area. Two nice, modern playgrounds for the kiddos too. And did I mention one of the best and most challenging mountain bike trails in Middle Tennessee

This was a quick stop on our way north & I wish we had planned more time.
Beautiful area & waterfall
The viewing areas were neat especially the one where you walk 'under' the cliff. We especially enjoyed walking along the shore upstream & got some close ups of a lone goose.
The gift shop was nice & we bought a little souvenir but the cafe was closed on a Tuesday.
Very glad we stopped, will try to come back

There is a plaque to read all about it, but not much more. The visitor center, as well as the restaurant were closed.

Our grand daughter is getting married at Cumberland Park in October of this year. The park is very well maintained, plenty of trees, a very nice lake, plenty of geese. The restaurant is very good, great views of the lake, and the patio offers plenty of room for family, small groups, or a convention of sorts. A short walk from the restaurant patio is another patio with exceptionally clean bathrooms, a small museum, and both a covered and open patio. The park has a huge swimming pool that is getting a lot of action, with shaded benches and picnic tables around the pool area. We are looking forward to the Fall wedding. With so many broadleaved trees and conifer trees, the colors will be amazing.

This was a beautiful, scenic mountain with lots of hilly, winding roads and nice overlooks. Fun to drive in my mini cooper. When going to photograph the bridge, however, there were a lot of large Canadian Geese that would come right up to you looking for food. Although they didn't nip at you or anything, I have to say it made me a bit nervous. Obviously, they are well fed!

This used to be a good place to eat but the last two time we were their it was average at the best. Undoubtedly they have change management since the food is less than desirable. We took our grandson there for dinner and the pork chops were dried out and the chick dish was also dry I think theybwere. Tring to serve chicken fettuccine but it was a poor atempt. It has gone from one of the best places to eat on the plateau to a bottom tier. What a shame. We also went there for Mothers day and they had turkey and dressing which appeared to come from a can. The turkey was rubbery and not very tasty and the price was jacked up for the day with sub-standard food.

This park has a little of everything. It has a great restaurant, nice woods for hiking, areas for tents and RVs and a scenic lake. It is easy to get to and a nice place to relax.

Cabin was clean and comfortable. We visited over the Thanksgiving holiday. Weather was good and hiking was great. They have completed a paved handicap accessible trail around the end of the lake that is beautiful and includes stormy book plaques along the way that will delight young ones. We can't wait to take our grandchildren on the trail.

I went here with my pregnant wife & pregnant sister-in-law, and about 12 other family members and we had a great time. We ate at the buffet, and then we walked off the food on the trails, we took the kids to the play areas and ended the day with many pictures! Overall great day with family!

This park provided a great camping experience with lots of activities to do in the park. Food is good in restaurant.

Great place and beautiful park!! Loved getting to walk by the water the entire time instead of most hikes through just woods. Got very nice pictures.

We drove around the park - such a pretty area! We wanted to eat at the restaurant but they're closed for renovations.

We really enjoyed visiting the falls and walking along the banks of the river. The falls are lovely, and seeing the morning sun creating rainbows in the mists was terrific.

This is a beautiful park. Very close to Crossville for groceries, etc. There is a very nice restaurant on-site, with a huge Sunday buffet. Public is welcome. It is also right next door to The Bear Trace golf club/course, designed by The Bear himself, Jack Nickolas.

Gorgeous area. We rented the larger cabin house & was plenty of room. Hiking trails were nice. The handicap trail around the lake was super easy. Lots of wildlife to see. And in the middle where it’s not far from all sorts of other places in the area less than an hour drive

We have stayed in the rustic cabins here a couple of times. They are rustic but comfortable. The mattresses are horrible though and so is the sofa. The kitchen had the necessities. The setting is beautiful and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is great.

There is so much to do any time of year at CMSP. Great hiking trails, seasonal pool, campground, restaurant, paddle boats, kayaks. The park rangers are friendly and knowledgeable! There are educational activities year round for the entire family!

We stayed in a deluxe two bed cabin over Easter weekend. The park was not very busy. We fished and hiked. The pool and boat house don't open until Memorial Day. It was a quiet restful weekend. The cabin had a flat screen tv king size bed and two queen beds, and a fully equipped kitchen. There was a wood burning fireplace with wood stacked outside our door. There wasn't matches. On the small patio there was a table with chairs and a charcoal grill. The park has handicap , dog friendly and group cabins. The also have two types of cabins, rustic and deluxe. The deluxe cabins are newer with bigger beds and two bathrooms. Th rustic cabin s have one bathroom and full size beds. The timberlog cabins are a cross between deluxe and rustic. They are bigger with nice decks. But only have one bathroom.

I really like this place because of the dam-bridge. There is a nice lake for kayaking. They have a swimming pool and a golf course, cabins for rentals and campgrounds truly an amazing place. There are walking trails as well well worth the visit. There is no charge for the entrance.

We go every year for multi-family vacation and generally an extra few days by ourselves at Thanksgiving. Our preference is the Moderns, but the Rustics are enjoyable too, particularly since they have been remodeled. We did have an issue this last year with the fireplace in a Rustic -it would not draw properly and was unusable. A shame since that is a big part of the charm in cold fall visits. The storybook/handicapped trail is wonderful. Other trails are nice, but there is an overabundance of poison ivy. I am extremely allergic and that presents a difficulty. We also have a tiny dog and it's difficult to keep him out of it too because it's so prolific. My husband is not allergic and spends a lot of time on the trails. He loves them! I go kayaking and ride my tricycle 😊. Early summer we rent 5-6 cabins for family vacation. Kids love it! Overall, we all love it.

Stopped here for about an hour. Such a beautiful park! Paved paths for walking through the woods by the creek were so peaceful. There are picnic tables and swings in different areas. No concession stands that I could see so bring what you'll need. There is some history here and markers along the way explain it all. Alot of the trees are marked with their names. I found that very helpful since I am not from that area. I think that no matter how much time you spend here will be well worth it.

It was really nice. Went on the loop trail and my daughter and I enjoyed taking lots of pix and the swinging bridge.

This is my park of choice because its local and has a variety of activities to choose from, short or long hikes, kayaking, canoeing, handicap accessible trail or wonderful meal in the restaurant. This is my go to place when I want to destress from my day.

We have gone here many, many times we even had our son's wedding here. It's so Breathtakingly Beautiful!! So much to do from canoeing, paddleboarding, paddle boats, hiking, walking trails, riding bikes, playing in the playgrounds, eating at the Restaurant or staying at the cabins and having camp fires or going swimming at the pool in the summer

I have been eating here for 30 years. Food is fresh and good selection. Today I enjoyed the chicken and barbecued ribs. I had pineapple cobbler and ice cream for dessert. Friendly staff. Nice hiking areas also a lake walk.

We hiked around the lake on the short loop trail. The trail was well maintained. Saw lots of wildlife. Many turtles. There is also a really cool bridge and a mini waterfall. The staff were very friendly and offered a trail map. I love that there is no admission for day use. Our visit was cut short by a storm, but we would return!

We made a return trip to this park while visiting Crossville again this year for a chance to visit the pool and paddle boats. The pool is very large, clean and plenty of lifeguards supervising the activities. They close the pool from noon to 1pm for lunch even though they opened at 10am. The men's room could have used some serious attention to cleanliness because of some very unclean visitors without proper upbringing. The paddleboats were a blast from years gone by for us. We paddled around the lake, under the walk bridge for an hour and where leg weary but we had a good time. This park is a must do experience if you like to get out into nature.

We took a short one plus mile walk around the park on a paved path. The bridge is beautiful and was built in 1935. Glad that we stopped by.

We recently went on a wildflower photo workshop hike and the trails were well maintained. The wildflowers were beautiful and we had a great time photographing them in macro. We ended our event with lunch at their Harvest Home restaurant, always 5 star dood, service, and ambiance.

Nice place to relax & enjoy the surroundings. There are picnic spaces. Nice looking bridge, very picturesque. There is a restaurant with buffet food where you can sit & eat & enjoy the nature.

Wow, this park has so much potential. We were very disappointed that the boat dock was closed on Saturday. We were looking so forward to being able to take a pedal boat out on the lake. After all my research I saw nothing about the closures online on their website or in their reviews. We were there at 4 when the restaurant opened and there were lines forming. Honestly, after seeing the park in such disarray. We were afraid to eat there despite the reviews.

beautiful, will go back again. Lots of walking. Restaurant on site and a beautiful lake. Looking forward to another visit

We go to the park alot there is always something going on with the park rangers, the pool and the boat launch basketball places to stay and fish it is great for families

A great park with two great bridges for photo ops. Went back there 3 times in a week. Ideal location from Fairfield Glade, TN

We visited on a beautiful morning in April when everything is coming to life. This is a beautiful state park with a lovely restaurant, camping and natural beauty of the river and water fall.

We went on a Saturday night for their ribs and chicken buffet. The food was good, the wait staff friendly and helpful. The park is beautiful and the restaurant has a beautiful view of the lake and an aw awesome bridge.

My wife and I have eaten at The Park numerous times. The fact that we continue to go back speaks for itself. Buffet style eating that is excellent quality. Service is super and the scenery is special.

Great place to camp out with family and friends. Has nice hiking trails. Quiet relaxing place to be. One place we will be back to many times

Lunch at the resturant . They had a lunch buffet with several meats, sides and dessert. I had the roasted chicken. The sides were very good and they had a salad bar. I also had strawberry cobbler for dessert. It was excelent. Drinks are included with the buffet. Services was fast and the staff was so nice and helpfull about the area.

Beautiful and scenic state park with great trails, pretty river and lake, wonderful restaurant with great food and service and reasonable prices too! Highly recommend going there!

We love going to Cumberland Mountain whenever we get the chance. There is a hiking trail around the lake and it is perfect for reconnecting with nature. It isn’t a strenuous hike, just a fun, casual hike through the trees. Time it right and you will be plenty hungry when you finish the hike, then head over to the restaurant in the park for their buffet. They also have paddle boats and canoes for rent. The kids have rented the paddle boats in the past and had fun with those.

Stayed in cabin, rustic but with 2 baths, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, fireplace, games! Just what we wanted because our boys were going to the Jr. Ranger camp so we were able to continue their outdoor education while we vacationed! Going back again this year! Had such a great time building fires and cooking outdoors while able to sleep in a comfortable bed at night!

I would highly recommend. Its a nice place for family time, or to just go and relax. They have a camp site, restaurant, playground, canoeing, and more. Me and my family really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to going back.

Beautiful park with multiple trails ranging from super easy and short to Extended "pro" trails and even a new paved ADA trail. Awesome campground, fantastic restaurant and fair amount of scenery that can be seen from your car. Young kids will love the play grounds and the wild bird display!

We stayed at the park for two days in one of the cabins. It was a nice place to stay and spend time together as a family. The kids enjoyed the playground, and we were able to do some hiking together. The cabin office let us use a DVD player one night so had a family movie night. Very nice staff members too.

We took our kids and grandkids to Cumberland . We rented paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks for a very reasonable price. The restaurant offers a good country buffet with great service! Plan to return soon!

Love to go here for many oiccasions. The buffet can't be beat, wirtwirth good service and excellent food. The restaurant's picture windows reveal the beauty of natural surroundings.

Our youngest son wanted to stay here for his birthday and play in the park. The cabins need to be updated greatly but they are quite and good for one night. Lots of nice walking trails and very pretty views for nice pics.

We've visited the park many times through the years and found it to be very nice to camp and for nature. This time we decided to stay in one of the cabins and that didn't turn out as well. It needed some updating and we didn't find the full sized bed to be sufficient, and it was very old. We also had a critter inside during the night, but the Ranger was very nice and let us check out and go somewhere else to stay without any penalty. They have a restaurant on site that is outstanding too.

This park is just stunning with historical landmarks saved throughout the park, wonderful hiking trails, and, a beautiful lake. Then after a day of outdoor fun the Harvest restaurant is sure to delight any of your food desires. I have dined in many state parks throughout the country, but I can truly say Friday night unlimited fish fry and roast beef was just over the top great food. What a wonderful day. Thanks to the Cooks, waitresses (who helped me trick my aunt and uncle into getting the ticket for the table) you guys ROCK!
I can't wait to go back.

Great hiking trails, nice lake for kayaking. Good place to go camping or just to spend the day. There is also a lodge to where you could have dinner with great food also. Just a nice overall relaxing place to spend a day or week.

We stopped by just to look around and stayed for hours. The park is spotless and well maintained. There is a newly paved trail around the lake that takes you to a water sports rental house with everything from canoes, paddle boats, and fishing boats with motors. There is a restaurant and CCC museum that explains all the history of the area. Well worth a visit!

A beautiful park with several well marked trails. We did the loop trail around the lake on a crisp fall day. The hike took us through some lovely woodlands and past several interesting rock formations. A fun place to spend a couple hours outdoors.

Beautiful l area the scenery is gorgeous very nice lake has boats to rent the restaurant in the park is outstanding and the buffet was $12 can't remember when I had better food will be back
The buffet on average has good food. It is all Southern comfort food, so if you aren't into that you might just go for the scenery. Every meal has a good choice of meats. Soups are homemade so they are good. My one complaint is the chicken/dumplings. The cooks need to learn how to prepare dumplings. They should be strips of dough, not dough balls. I wish they would adjust their Saturday night smoked ribs price...a little high. But, in fairness, the smoked ribs are good.
