Ugh

By Walters |

Just spent $110 per ticket for Rod Stewart. If we had known that those in front of us could stand up and obscure the view for the entire concert, we would NOT have purchased the ticket. Hot night, rude staff. Thankfully the drunk bumping into me did not knock me down. Setting more like the bleachers of a baseball game sans the peanut man. The sound was terrible for the Opening Act, Cheap Trick.

You can't trust their website and rain or shine event = mud bog after rain

By MLPerry |

We went to the Jimmy Buffet concert after days of rain and flooding. We watched the weather thinking they would cancel, but it is a rain or shine venue. So if you are sitting on the grass - be prepared! The grass gets spongy soggy and the path up the middle toward the vending stands and restrooms turns into a knee deep mud bog. They put out wood chips but that didn't help AT ALL. It was a horrible mess. Second issue is that the rules on the website for what you can or cannot bring in are meaningless because they change them at the gate. We had empty water bottles, which are allowed according to the website but they refused to allow them at the gate. I get really annoyed when I try to follow rules but can't because they are arbitrarily changed without notice. They stated small umbrellas were allowed so we purchased collapsible ones but observed full size umbrellas everywhere. So all in all, just consider yourself warned. It is a nice venue however.

Houston Symphony Music of David Bowie

By Steve Lamotta |

Houston Symphony is always a treat and appreciate the frequency of their performance plus the incorporation of rock & roll current and past greats!!

excellent facility

By Margaret M |

Undercover seating is great. Have enjoyed many concerts over the years and never come away disappointed.

Mixed review!!!!

By TallGirlAmy |

First of all, whose brilliant idea was it to host day-long concert events during July & August in TEXAS?!? I saw way too many people with heat exhaustion the last day-long event I went to, and water is $4 to purchase unless you want to stick your head in the water fountain and roll the communicable disease dice.
Second, I have noticed the ticket ushers are either really, really undertrained or overworked. Either is poor management. To leave your seat and come back to it, there are at least 4 people that check your ticket at any given point back to your seat which is inconvenient while holding your requisite $13 beer in hand.
However, the facility is fairly nice for the area of Houston, and the selection of concerts is quite diverse. I enjoy the Woodforest Bank restaurant/bar when I get access, but the House of Blues bar is not bad either. Great service last night at Slipknot; in fact, never have had bad service at any of the bars or restaurants.

Great venue, walking distance from our home!

By Asia1 |

We love going to the Cynthia Woods Pavilion! Great venue and great artists...rock and roll, classical and oldies! We love to go and hear the Houston Symphony! We LOVE the seating on the lawn...just don't like that we can't bring in our own food and beverages!

Always a great venue!

By 1974AgGigi |

The sound, the fresh air,and some of the best shows I have ever seen.
The only downfall is the weather. If it is stormy they have to delay or cancel shows. There is seating under the tent with fans. Room for the kids to run on the hill!

Good concert venue

By Ponytail79 |

Such good sound, loved The Doobie Brothers and Chicago! Staff handled the crowd with expertise and ease. If anything was out of order, it was handled quietly. Great evening!

Great outdoor music venue!

By Clyde C |

We may be a bit biased due to the fact that we have season tickets, but this is a great way to spend a summer evening. They attract some of the best talent in the country for an outdoor setting. The food and drinks are over priced, typical of any concert venue. The sound quality is amazing though. We have been to concerts at Toyota Center and NRG Stadium and they don't even come close on accoustics.

Concerts at Cynthia Woods

By DaisyMosetta |

Every concert I've ever seen at this venue has been awesome! One of the best things about The Woodlands.

Fantastic concert venue

By smithjam |

We have attended eight concerts here in less than a two year period. We have purchased lawn seats and covered seating depending on availability and the featured acts. It doesn't matter where you sit, you should enjoy concerts here. There is a very relaxed atmosphere here, and most concert fans are enthusiastic yet well-behaved. Parking is convenient, and leaving the venue is very hassle free. The venue is clean and comfortable with good acoustics for an outdoors location. The acts that are scheduled address a wide range of musical genres, but I tend to focus on classic rock acts from the 70s and 80s. I have yet to meet anyone who has not enjoyed watching a concert here.

Awesome venue!

By Harlow |

We loved this venue and would definitely see a show here again. We sat under the cover which was perfect but it honestly doesn’t seem like there is a bad seat in the house.

Nothing like a concert on the lawn at the pavilion!

By wendygnelson |

Saw Jack Johnson perform with two friends visiting from Canada. We brought our blanket and also rented lawn chairs. There were families and dates and it was a wonderful sense of community listing to his laid back style! Even the red wine was decent!

Fun in the (Hot Texas) Sun!

By jacksprat21 |

I've gotta be honest, I was dreading this. I had never been to the CWMP, and certainly didn't want to experience it as a first in July, at 90 degree temps. However, I was very impressed with the layout, the assistance, the staff and openness! The band, 21 Pilots, put on an INCREDIBLE show, and the Pavilion was a perfect place for their show! It allowed them to freely move, (as they often did), and enabled wonderful visibility to all. I LOVED sitting on the lawn. There actually was a nice breeze, even for Texas in July!

Best outdoor concert venue

By Johnjoan2012 |

What a great experience, we had a great spot on the lawn. Great vibe from other concert goers, plenty of security so I felt very safe

Great place for a concert

By LKJ_travel |

Great seating and great performers. Excellent placement of speakers and screens. We saw Peter Frampton and Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was great.

The best venue for concerts!

By Kent W |

This is the best place for a concert! Because of the lawn seating option, there’s no bad spot for viewing the event. The staff is friendly and helpful!

Great music venue!

By Kathryn R |

We buy lawn tickets for those performances that aren't as special to us, really reasonable pricing. Reserved seating is great for your bucket list tickets!!

awesome concert hall

By Natalia M |

This is a great concert hall with very affordable lawn seating. I've been here numerous times for Coldplay and Dave Matthews concerts.

Mixed Feelings

By Cheryl S |

I've been to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion only twice over the years, because we usually attend concerts in Austin at Frank Erwin Center. However, it's alot easier to get great seats at the Pavilion. But, because of the outdoor venue, attending concerts in late spring and summer here can be brutal. We recently attended the Joe Walsh/Tom Petty concert and the music was just awesome. No complaints there, even though the performers were also sweating like the rest of us. There was no breeze at all and we wondered why the fans, overhead, weren't on.
Staff at the gates and in the ticket area were just awesome and so helpful. But staff in the seating area were just plain rude. But if you don't like your job find another one. We paid over $600 for our tickets and expected a little more help and less sarcasm finding our seats. We also had to argue with a guy sitting in one of our seats who swore it was his seat (when he found out he was wrong, he blamed it on not wearing his glasses). What fun!?
Parking can be a hassle so we've learned to stay at a nearby hotel and walk a half mile to the event. But if you want to eat beforehand make sure you eat early or make reservations. Restaurants in the Woodlands area were packed with a 2-hour wait.
At the Pavilion, the women's restrooms and concession areas had lines a mile long and concessions are expensive ($5 water; $11 beer) but evidently that's no surprise in Houston. But don't drink too much if you don't want to be in line forever to the restrooms. The concession stand line we were in had a broken credit card machine and the lady was having to put card info in manually. Not sure who their security people are but we saw only one uniformed officer in the venue and that was at the gate when everyone was leaving. Although there were lots of officers outside the venue working traffic and crowd control.
I know they host lots of events, but the system just seemed a little disorganized and unaccommodating to large crowds.

Great venue !

By GBlank79 |

Tucked in a perfect community north of Houston. The Woodlands is just great. Add the area hotels, restaurants & then the great Cynthia Woodlands Pavillion. Paradise!
Many gates to enter the pavillion. If using a car(Uber,etc)/mass transportation service there is a specific entrance to stay out of traffic. If your driving, many parking lots in the business area. Depending on the show, you have to pay to park.
If you possess the appropriate handicap placards you are allowed to park in a connecting parking deck attached to the pavillion. Just let the attendant know that you have the proper markings of a handicapped vehicle.
Once inside, the seating areas are properly marked and easy to navigate. Several food & beverage (water, soda, beer, and wine) are everywhere. Free standing general admission (PIT), lower/upper seats or lawn..the options are all around. Naturally if the concert your attending is a sold out act, then wait times will very. But I never had more then a 7 minute wait for food or libation.
Security was polite and you saw a law enforcement force available if needed. There were lines for people with bags or blankets or people without bags. There was also medical staff available if needed.
We have been to Cynthia Woodlands Pavilion several times and never left disappointed or with any complaints about the facilities. Even when it's time to leave everything seems to move in order and a timely fashion!

Always a Win

By Emilee A |

I've been to numerous concerts here and have always had a great time. One of the concerts even had a storm roll through, but the show (safely) went on, and it was so cool to hear the live music while seeing lightning light up the clouds. (Wasn't striking ground, no worries.)
If you have the option, the parking pass makes life so much easier. You can bring a blanket or rent chairs for the grass. If you try to bring in a camera not knowing (or don't want to leave it in the car) they let you check it there. And it's safe. (Which was great when it was storming and my camera wasn't ruined, hehe)

Boni's

By Texan3037 |

This venue was absolutely amazing. We attended the Boni's dance recital and the seats were all so good. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and the restroom space was good - plenty of stalls! The ceiling fans and covered seating provided a nice cool breeze on a hot Memorial Day weekend. Great venue! Perfect location! Great for families!

Better organization required for the queues

By St_Matty |

We attended the Pitbulll concert. Venue is usually quite good, we had front row seats so the view was excellent this time although the actual seats were terrible.
Food and drinks were the usual high extortionate prices but nothing new there.
This is the worse queue I have know there though. There didn't seem to be any organization, groups of people were just pushing in and there was no one there to stop them. Only when we nearly got in did some mounted police arrive which put people off from doing it.

Five Finger Death Punch

By Bill B |

Got my wife a couple of seats for the show. Really not a bad seat on the house. We were in the reserved seating section 107 about 1/2 way up. We could see great. There are 2 big screens on either side of the stage you can watch as well.

Sound was good as well.

Water bottle was $4.00, but there are refill stations near the restrooms that are free.

My only complaint was that there was a band added so gates opened at 6:00 and the first band started at 6:10. 1000s of people missed the opening band.

Helpful hint. The lounge opened at 5:00. You go through security and scan your ticket to get in. Once you are in, when regular gates open, everyone in the lounge files out into the arena. There is AC in the lounge and a bar.

Cynthia Woods Pavillion

By Peyton W |

The Cynthia Woods Pavillion is great for many things! Live entertainment and acustics is wonderful:)

Bathrooms are all by entrance not spread throughout venue.

By fun4moms2 |

This venue was a great place to go with the girls for a Def Lepard/ REO Speedwagon/Tesla Concert! My only complaint was that though they have a large bathroom it is located at the entrance of the venue and as women pushing 50 that can be an issue😂 if this is a concern for you just choose seating that is located just inside the stadium not further around. It had rained the day we went and we had lawn tickets. Bring tarps if it has rained and wear shoes that can handle mud! I sloshed barefoot and enjoyed it as part of a fun night! There is a concrete walkway between the lawn and seats that makes it easier to go to the far side of the lawn instead of walking the sloping lawn the entire way, especially helpful when muddy😂. Inside and outside the venue there was always visible security. We felt very comfortable walking to and from the venue to our shuttle. Go and have fun!!!

Concert

By Maggie C |

Nice venue for a concert; however this is August in Texas and was very hot! We had seats under the covered area but they don't have enough fans or any misting areas for this kind of heat. This would be very nice in fall or spring

Excellent place to enjoy live music

By Thomas W |

This place has unbelievable acoustics to be an outdoor venue. Very well laid out with concessions close to the gates and restrooms as well as the top of the hill on the lawn area. Plenty of regular seating as well as a large lawn area for additional seating. Have attended several shows here and will continue to do so.

Concert with Scout merit Badge

By BilingualTeacher_13 |

The concert of the Texas Music Festival was fantastic with awesome young musicians playing Rachmaninoff and Rimsky Korsakov. As a bonus my boots scouts were able to work on their music merit badge.

Cynthia Woods MitchellPavilion is great

By DN1946 |

It is so neat to have such a wonderful venue practically in our backyard. It's an open air facility with ceiling fans that are like helicopter blades, Of course, in the Houston area in the summer, they are needed. There is also an open lawn with free lawn chairs for families, especially those with children who love to run around, during the Houston Symphony concerts. For those Symphony concerts, there is free seating in the mezzanine section which are underwritten by local businesses. Tickets may be purchased for those wishing to sit nearer the stage. Food can be brought into the facility or purchased at the concession stands. No beverages may be brought in so the price is a bit high should you wish something to drink. Last week we attended the Symphony's Dream Works concert where bits of their cartoons were shown on the big screens while the Symphony provided the music. Big name entertainers also frequent the stage at the Pavilion. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has been ranked the top or second outdoor venue for several years.

Love/Hate

By Courtney C |

Acoustics are ok. Lawn seat pricing is great. Covered seats are good. The place is great, the people can be annoying. Avoid paying for seats if you want to sit the whole time. People will likely stand up in front of you taking away your ability to see without standing. Food and alcohol prices are significantly marked up. It should be illegal. The lawn seats are another price gouge. I wish they would allow chairs that meet a height criteria, then I could bring my own.

Another option that I have enjoyed is hanging outside the pop pavillion in lawn chairs listening to the music. Many people do this, and it's nice.

First time

By Clint R |

We walked from nearby hotel. Seems to be split in half so important to go in correct side. Lots of good food vendors and drink vendors. Also never had to wait on bathrooms. We had covered seats which were quite a few rows in and only received a bit of mist in the storm. Rows are long so lots of walking in front of people and not much slope so who you are behind is important.

Great Venue

By Mediconfyre |

Other than battling coming or leaving w the traffic it's a great venue when the weather isn't too bad. Sucks to be on the lawn on the rain abs under the cover everyone walks in front of ya.

Great outdoor venue

By sadiekat1974 |

We were in town for the Depeche Mode/Warpaint show. They got thousands of people through the gates in no time. It was very organized and well-managed. And while it was raging hot, they did at least have the industrial-size overhead fans on which helped move air around. I would definitely come back to this venue again.

Amazing concert venue!!

By Mymndsi |

We have driven from Austin 2 x’s to attend concerts at this venue because it’s super nice!! Free parking & lots of restaurants across the street. Venue staff are well organized. Easy in & out. Highly recommended!!

Jimmy Buffett

By Gary J |

Great venue for Jimmy's type of show. Open air and breezy. Easy to get into and out and sitting on the hill was perfect. Had some rain but was prepared for that. The sound was good and had nice view of the stage and large screens. Will be back.

Great concert venue

By kurtaggie |

This venue is great for concerts. Been here dozens of times. Lots of food and drinks. Everything costs an arm and leg. Most all the seats are good. Staff will deal with unruly customers if required.

The best place to see a show!

By LoneStarTravelGirl |

Such a great space....it feels like a intimate setting nestled in the trees. We've seen shows here from pop/rock to the symphony to comedians.

The reserved area is nice if you really want to be close...and as a protection from the sun or rain. Lawn area is nice, too, though. Lots of food and beverage options. Friendly staff at the gates and throughout the Pavilion during the show.

Easy parking as compared with some mega-stadiums.

Tops for Entertainment

By Arron A |

This is a treasure of The Woodlands. One of the most attended outdoor venues in the country and boasts top tier performers. Enjoy many free events put on by the Houston Symphony throughout the year. The grass area is a fun place for larger groups where you can hear well, but sight is a bit challenging if it were not for the big screen TVs.

Concert

By NeilR-SharonG |

Really cool place for a concert. The lawn seating is inexpensive, and perfect for enjoying the music. You cannot really see the stage, but can see the large screens.

For Those Who Enjoy Lives Entertainment

By LimburgLady |

Comfortable; some areas are free to bring your own chair and listen to concerts by well known entertainers.

Beautiful Outdoor Venue is not what it used to be in some ways, better than it used to be in other ways

By Laure H |

I've attended many concerts over the years at this beautiful outdoor venue, ticketed and free, in seating and on the lawn. The free lawn seating events and free events make this a fun destination for people with different budgets.

The place has changed over the years - it used to be that the walk from the parking lots was a delicious walk through the woods complete with frogs croaking and cicadas humming. The walks to and from the parking lot were a special part of the experience for me, a stepping out of the ordinary workaday world into the woods on the way to the venue, and a quieting stroll after the excitement of a big evening under moon and stars with wildlife making night noises all around us. Development eliminated a lot of that sense of walking through the forest by twilight and by moonlight. The walk from parking to venue is nice for some parking areas, and just sort of parking-lot-ish from other directions. On the other hand, it has a lot more natural beauty around it than many city venues.

Security feels ridiculous - you can't buy a beverage with a lid on it because it might be used as a "missile." Purses are searched. I don't go to a lot of concerts anywhere else (except for nicer concert halls - purses aren't searched, and it is a given that food and drink don't go into the seating areas), so maybe its just a sign of the times and not so unique to this venue.

Because this is Southeast Texas, the weather is hot and humid - downright muggy most of the summer, and in part of the spring and fall as well. If you don't love that sort of weather, the lawn seating isn't the most pleasant for most of the season, especially during daylight savings time. On the other hand, the covered seating with nice air blowing on them has expanded over the years. The seating isn't much to write home about, otherwise.

Sound quality - well, it can vary tremendously. For the price of the ticket, I could get a lot more mileage and enjoyment out of a batch of great CD's played at home, or by going to a Phantom Event featuring a live concert in the comfort of the local cinema's air conditioning and cush seating, where you can see everything you want to see up close and in detail.

On the other hand, it is a nice place for locals to run into friends and acquaintances, which is fun - and it is nice to go to events in a group for socializing in a festive environment. The grounds are clean and well kept, the people who work there have been unfailingly friendly and helpful (this is Texas, of course!) and they have a nice array of (ridiculously expensive) food items.

To replace the quiet woods, there is a lovely river walk to enjoy, the opportunity to enjoy the local water taxis and free trolley bus, fine dining and shopping before the event, and there is a nice array of bars and a few nice hotels not too far away for after-partying if that is your style.

FYI - I selected a travel date at random because I have lived in this area for over 30 years, and have been going to this concert venue during that time span.

Great Venue!!!! EXPENSIVE BEER!

By mglassey |

Geoff and I went with 3 other couples and had a blast!! We went to see A Day To Remember and Blink 182! They were awesome. We arrived around 7, so it wasn't extremely hot or anything. They do a quick visual search on everybody when you get there. The lines were really really long because it holds a lot of people. We brought in some whiskey because the beer was 10-12 bucks for 1 beer!!! Depended on if you got draft or a can. Didn't matter if you got XX, Michelob, or Ziegenbock. You should bring blankets to sit/stand on. and enjoy the show!!

Too hot and too disorganized

By txteacher_girl |

My friend and I bought tickets months ago for the Pentatonix concert. The concert was great, but we were disappointed with the venue this time.

1) I received an email at 2:45 on the afternoon of the concert about the bag policy. By that point, we were getting ready to go. I saw the email on my drive home. That was helpful. We had to walk several blocks back to our car after standing in line for almost an hour to drop off our purses which was very unsafe. That’s exactly what thieves want you to do. In the meantime, we passed 10 of so police officers, all of whom could have been trained to tell concertgoers about the new bag policy and saved them a wasted hour of standing in 100 degree heat.

2) In weather like that, someone should be driving around the lines offering cups of water. Several people got sick from heat exhaustion. There was no need for that to happen.

3) The artist told the venue to take the caps off of people’s drinks, at least that’s what the cashier told us. So, of course, our $5 waters were knocked over by drunk people walking in and out of the aisle.

The Place for Live Music

By Ned Fasullo |

The Pavilion is hands down one of the best live music venues in the Gulf South. Amazing audio/visual experience no matter what type of band or genre of music you’re there for.

Great Concert Venue

By lap920 |

If you love listening to music outdoors, then this is THE place. I prefer sittig "on the hill" in the open air. Depending on time of year, you may get a nice breeze. Large screens enable you to have a good view no matter where you sit. Lots of choices for food & drinks from the vendors.

Excellent Summertime Entertainment Spot

By Terrence S |

Have attended several events here. Can count on it to be comfortable, outdoor entertainment. Not a bad seat in the house. Prices are resonable. Reserved and unreserved seating available in chairs on relax on the lawn.

Best place for concerts

By AmiSurfari |

We went to go see Twenty One Pilots on July 5th 2016 and it was amazing. I will always look for concerts at this place because I love it down there and a great excuse to get away and have some fun.

Good concert facility if you have covered seating

By Ciahasher |

I’ve been to this place a few times. What I have learned is you want to be in the covered section close to the stage ( sections 101, 102, and 103.)
View is great from there and you are protected from the elements if it rains. Also, it provides shade which was most welcome when I was there. Everything is laid out pretty well in terms of bathrooms, concession stands , and the like.
The lawn seats, which are cheaper, are far away from the stage. You can barely see anyone.
Don’t think you can buy a lawn seat and sneak down into the covered section. Security is tight in the covered section and they will ask to see your ticket several times as you work your way through this area. Also, keep your paper ticket stub and don’t lose it!!! If you do, security won’t let you back to your seat in the covered area. The ticket on your phone is not acceptable. That will get you into the pavilion but not the covered area. So keep that in mind. When they print it out after scanning the barcode on your phone, put it in a safe place
TIP: bring a large tall boy coozie with you. If you buy canned beer , which is cheaper than draft, it comes in these big cans. So a regular size coozie isn’t going to work.
Also, bring one of those vapur water bottles that folds up. You can fill that up inside the pavilion at the water fountains for free.
They are very strict about what they allow in the stadium. Nothing bigger than 8.5 x 11 inch bag. (the NFL transparent bags are ok). If you bring something that’s prohibited on their website, they will confiscate it. You will not get it back after the concert. Review their policies on their website if it’s your first time to the pavilion.
One other comment about lawn seats: lots of smoking going on and not just tobacco!
If you bring an illegal substance in there and get caught lighting up, you will be arrested.
I also recommend staying the night up there at a hotel if it’s an evening concert. These usually end late ( 11 pm or later). It’s a long drive back to Houston at that hour.

Great facility, poorly managed

By safetyass |

Long security lines, picky scanners, for online only tickets which is all that are allowed, ramps left empty, forcing EVERYONE up and down stairs. Poorly managed, especially, what we pay for the privledge.

Great venue

By Rachel |

We’ve attended a few concerts and events at Cynthia Woods. They keep it clean considering how many people can be crammed in.

Lawn seating is great if the weather has been good otherwise prepare for mud and they ban chairs frequently. Covered seating is nice and most spots are glare free. Seats in the back/non covered, are totally hit or miss.

If you’re sensitive to smoke you need to be in the seats, staff usually tries to keep it to a minimum but lawn is a total free for all.

Super easy access for Uber or Lyft but parking yourself can be a hassle.

Jimmy Buffett Concert

By Marsh |

What an awesome venue ! This is our third time to see a concert here and we have been impressed . Great layout and there really isn't a bad seat here . We will be back !

Don't miss an experience here.

By Good Eatz |

I've resisted going to see performers here, but not after the deaths of some of my favorites recently. I was not a fan of the Zac Brown band, until I just saw them at this awesome venue. There are plenty of concessions, so you don't have to stand in line too long. It seems that there is a pretty good breeze on top of the hill, after dark and of course there's always a breeze under the fans

Please check out all of the rules, because there are a lot of them!

Wonderful venue

By mnguyen62 |

Lots of fun, there's not a bad seat at the venue even sitting out on the lawn on a summer night is great

Great venue

By FamilytravellerTX |

One of our favorite venues in the Houston area. Lovely outdoor pavilion. Great area surrounded by lots of green space & restaurants.

Shinedown Concert

By Kristin T |

This was our first concert at this venue. We came from out of state. Such a great place for a concert! We had lawn ‘seats’ and you can either bring a blanket to sit on or rent chairs for 7 bucks each, which is what we did. Lots of food and drink selections and clean restrooms.
We will return!

Parrot heads, Pirates, Hula skirts, and Coconut Bra's

By Kyle V |

The Jimmy Buffet concert was my 2nd time at this venue. I arrived at around 5 pm and parking was relatively easy and free.

Getting into the venue took around 30 minutes due to all of the security concerns. It is best not to bring bags.

Had lawn seating and rented chairs. $7.00. Had plenty of space. Bath rooms were clean and no real lines.

The concert itself was very entertaining. Everyone seemed to have a blast. I will go again next year.

One warning. If it looks like rain and you have lawn seating, no umbrellas allowed.

Great place to see concerts

By SandyBeaches |

My husband and I have seen so many concerts at Cynthia Woods. We prefer the lawn seats as we are able to spread out and enjoy the breeze (when there is one). The seated area is also very nice. If the weather is inclement and they have open seats, they will upgrade you from the lawn to the seats. Check the web-site to find out whether or not you can bring umbrellas and the amount/type of food that you can bring. Groupon has discount tickets from time to time.

Overall it is a great concert venue and one that we will continue to frequent in the coming years since we don't live too far away.

Greatest outdoor concert venue in the world!

By Jayre |

Very easy to access, incredible variety of performers (all big name), beautiful facility with great seating (both chair and lawn). And, if you're on a tight budget--or the concert is sold out, you can sit outside and listen to the band with ease.

Great venue, but not to good muscicians lately

By Philip Z |

This is a great venue, Has it all for a great time except the right musicians. Also, there is no hard liquor for sale at the grounds... and not allowed inside.

Great venue to see a performance...

By STULETSEAT |

Great place to see a concert...Food is Horrible and WHY? with such a great venue... Best to eat before you arrive ... Prices are out of sight and with lousy, food/warm outrageous priced beer... Why don't they just be the best and bring in Great food from local companies, and drop all thee Junk they pawn off to grab your hard earned bucks... It would make a big difference...Again boycott the food and just see a great concert, and maybe they will change there greedy ways

Nickelback

By MichelleHamm |

Absolutely fabulous acoustics here.. I have seen several concerts and am also happy.. Beers$11-$15 but that's just the way it goes... We sat on lawn.. You can rent lawn chairs for$6.. Just wish they had a restroom at top of hill...

The Pavilion is a gem.

By Debotx2015 |

We went for the Symphony and it was a great performance. It is in Texas and it is outdoors so plan on being warm but it is always great fun.

Concert

Been to several concerts there over
The past several years....Recommend sitting under
Roof instead of on the lawn... It is wonderful venue for a concert...
💛❤️💚

Great concert venue!

By Bretmcbunch |

We have attended 3 concerts here & have enjoyed each one. We sat on the lawn once & section 103 the last 2 times. We enjoy sitting closer to the stage in seats rather than on the lawn. We had perfect weather for our Journey concert in May - partly cloudy with a cool breeze blowing. Section 103 is covered so we were going to be kept dry from the short little time it sprinkled.

Rain or shine, it's the place to go.

By Carla1477 |

We've been going to concerts at the pavilion since it opened. And it just keeps getting better. The acoustics are good, whether you are in seating or on the lawn. Some events are even free!

A Great place for a date and seeing famous bands

By James S |

We love to go the the Pavilion for a date to see Famous bands. They have all kinds of prices from stage front to the grass lawn in the back. Really not a bad seat in the house. We have seen Deep Purple, Foreigner Styx and many other bands. Get your tickets early because they sell out often. Take your best friend and enjoy an evening under the stars.

Really nice oasis in the Woodlands

This outdoor concert theater is build as a bowl shape with the stage at the lowest level. There is both covered chair seating and lawn seating. The lawn seating is further up the slope and not covered. It’s first come first served and people brought lawn chairs and blankets. They tape off walkways and sections. You can also rent chairs usually. They were limiting the use of umbrellas so others can see. It can be hot but after dark it’s great. The location is in the heart of the woodlands near i45.

Def leppard

Awesome place and very well organized for the concert. Acoustics were great and other than the lawn from the rain place looked great. Plenty of food and beverage areas and bathrooms wet more than plentiful. Will def return

Outstanding performance and acoustics. Great selection of songs.
Perfect parking. Very convenient venue for The Woodlands, Conroe, Spring and even Houston. Large fans kept it cool. Attentive and very friendly Staff.

Disservice to Pentatonix

By John W |

- We went to the Pentatonix Concert last night. Great talent, energy and performance. Unfortunately the Pavillion has a poor sound system that muffled the clarity of the singing. And we had seats in the front & middle!
- Pavillion also had a glitch with ticketing. Bought our from Ticketmaster and were forced to use Apple Wallet (unable to print out). Tickets did not scan and we had to go back out to the ticket booth for them to correct.
- And Pavillion had other issues! Great group ... but bad overall experience!

Rude and unnecessary treatment of customers

By Terriblewoodlands |

Upon entering for a Willie Nelson concert July 1st, 2018...

the first rude and uneducated employee I encountered was the ticket-taker...my father (71 years old) was not allowed to use printed tickets so handed me our printouts to keep and presented his phone as tickets for both he and I. This woman then proceeded to lay her hands on me and tell me I was not allowed to enter. She could not seem to grasp the concept that my father had shown her TWO tickets. She DID, however, manage to grasp both my midsection inappropriately and rip my printed souvenir tickets out of my hand and into the trash. I told her promptly she was being picky and that seemed to be the end of it... until...
The SECOND, vile woman manager who was behind her and sorely needs a hearing test, began to berate my manhood and tell me I’m no sort of man and asked me how it felt to treat women like I do, and that I had no reason to cuss her employee. Apparently the word PICKY sounds like the term for a female dog in this woman’s mind. At no point did she let up, and 3 times when I turned and began to walk away, she continued once, twice, and thrice again to berate me and call me names....
UNACCEPTABLE that anyone laid their hands on me in the first place
UNACCEPTABLE that ANYthing, even pieces of printed paper, were EVER ripped from my hands (and I do mean RIPPED)
UNACCEPTABLE that a “manager” can open her mouth and say ANYTHING to me on false pretenses because she is hard of hearing and believes I “cussed” her inept employee
UNACCEPTABLE that a grown adult’s reason for harassing me is that she THINKS she heard a “cuss” word...let me say this to that lady, words are words, context is what makes a “cuss”, and we live in a world where if a word is what hurts you most and makes you feel like you’ve been “wronged”, you’re going to have a hard time living
UNACCEPTABLE and PATHETIC that an adult in a management position feels the need to “have the last word” over, and then over, and then over again
UNACCEPTABLE visit to the woodlands after seeing concerts there for 25 years

World-Class Venue

By muzzician |

The Woodlands Pavilion is truly a world-class concert venue! With over 6,000 covered seats and space for 11,000 on the lawn, there isn't a bad seat in the house. The concessions are operated by a different non-profit at most events, with some of the proceeds going to help their cause. The operations team keeps the venue spotless and in good working order. The Pavilion is an awesome partner in our community as it gives back to the community in so many ways, such as free lawn seating for the Houston Symphony Concerts, and our annual Fourth of July Spectacular. I have attended dozens of events at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and have never had a bad experience.

Great Concerts

By BobbyM58 |

We love to attend concerts at this location. The setting includes covered seats as well as a seating area on the lawn . The music travels well across all sitting areas . It is especially nice on a nice spring or autumn day. The high heat in the summer makes it a bit difficult to watch a concert but it is still bearable . We get covered seats in the summer to avoid the heat.

A great date night or family outing

By Polly H |

Great outdoor venue to see concerts, comedians, etc. The line-up is fantastic for 2016 that include Journey, 21 Pilots, Dave Mathews Band, etc. Not a bad seat in the house. We always choose lawn seats as you can relax in rental chairs or bring your own blankets. Lots of food & drink choices in the pavilion.

The best concert venue ever!

By Lisa D |

I attended back to back concerts, with a friend, two summers ago. Depeche Mode one night and Maroon 5/Kelly Clarkson the next night. We sat on the lawn for both and I loved it! Even though it was in the middle of August, once the sun went down it wasn't terrible at all. When we left the first concert one of the employees told us what time we should get in line the next day to ensure we snagged the first spots on the lawn. It worked like a charm! I also appreciate the security team for constantly clearing the walkways so that people aren't blocking your views. Concessions are overpriced, as with EVERY venue out there, so just plan accordingly. I wish I lived closer so that I could attend more concerts!

A great experience

By lucasashby |

We have enjoyed coming here for many performances. They offer shows throughout the year, and some are even free. We got to enjoy their Halloween music performance from the Houston Symphony. They tend to have a diverse array of singers and comedians for everyone. Seating can be under the roof or on the grassy area. Remember to check the weather before coming here.

Bon

By bonnie4440 |

Always love visiting here for concerts. Parking is HELL. The Woodlands wants visitors but they make parking hell for visitors and the people who actually live here.
Don't go near the Mall or Market street on concert days.... no place to park if you are a local.

It's an ok place

By JPX |

Nothing special. It's just a pavilion with ball park food. Expensive and nothing special. Lots of parking and walking expected.

Great concert venue!

By Richard R |

We have been to several concerts here and it's always a good time. The site layout makes it easy to get around. The video screens allow you to see things on stage up close. Sound quality is always good. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Great concert venue

By safetyass |

Make sure you are under the cover that also gives air movement from enormous fans. We saw Reo Speedwagon and Chicago, agian. Awesome concert.

Disappointing experience-Rude staff

By Tara H |

Very rude staff. We did not have a single friendly encounter with someone working the event, from checking in to getting to our seat and even the concessions. They need training to learn how to enforce the rules kindly. Lots of new rules post Covid and everyone is trying to follow them. A helpful staff could have made the process much easier and enjoyable. Will not be returning to this venue. Do not recommend.

Good Concert Vene but Annoying Staff

By Tom W |

We came to see Daughtry and Nickelback. We made good time coming from Katy now that the Grand Parkway is open.

It took forever to get inside the Pavilion. The security was slow and overbearing. The only thing they ever caught was water bottles. You cannot bring water bottles in. There's $5 waters that you must pay for. They had to look under every woman's hat and in their shoes. Really?

It is a good thing they added a big screen TV by the concession stand. You can watch the band that you are missing while standing in line outside.

I do enjoy watching concerts from the hill. Usually you can find a good place to sit on the hill. Also, you can rent lawn chairs. Cynthia Woods is a good place for a concert. We are in Texas, so dress light. There is no shortage of heat.

The concession stands (which are owned by Aramark) are ridiculously priced. Beers are $13. Pepsi $8.50. Gatorade $6 and Waters $5. Chad Kroeger of Nickelback had a great line - "the concession stands cost you your first born child and you have to take out a second mortgage. He wished he made money from them."

On the way out, the staff hassled people. Give us a break.

It was a good concert, but I could have done without their obnoxious staff.

Been going fo years

By Steve D |

Great venue, beautiful grounds, veery good acoustics and sound. Complete with large screens for viewing performance from a distance.

Awesome

By maxine m |

This venue is for Everyone. Depending on the event, the price is right, the seating has a variety of opportunities, and the lawn is an excellent "open space" to enjoy the show (both on stage and surroundings) without being confined to a seat. This center is one of the best for sound and the visual screens are perfectly placed for viewing from all angles. There are plenty of consignment food and drink for refreshments. Some of the shows during a season are free to the public. Come one, come all, but get there early for best seating.

Plan on spending a lot of money

By samiorobilio |

I won't go here unless a band is playing that I really want to see and they are not playing at an indoor venue. The tickets are overpriced for lawn seats, unless you pay to sit in an actual seat, the sound sucks, the drinks are overpriced and they only sell beer in 24oz cans so it's hot before I get half way thru it. I have to pay full price for a cup of ice just to drink a Bud Lite Rita. Seems most bands today are playing here instead of our indoor venues and the good shows seem to always be during the week.

Card only, no cash!!

By mfschro |

If I would have know it was card only and not cash, I wouldn’t have come to see Rob Zombie and Mudvayne. I would have seen them at a different venue. I will not be back, I resent that I have to use card, which more likely to get hacked. I have had that happen in the past.

Great concert venue but a little too strict on purse sizes

By hwhite1283 |

I love going to concerts here but the rules seem to get more and more strict every year. They have a good variety of food options. Love the free seat upgrades if they have open seating available. Beer/food is kinda pricey but that’s to be expected. You can’t bring your own chairs but they have some you can rent for $7. You can bring your own blanket and snacks if you follow their guidelines. They are super strict on purse sizes. They have an 8.5”x11” sheet of laminated paper that they loosely hold up to your purse to see if your size fits. Mine was 1/2” over and they said no to my purse. Annoying. But I still had a good time after walking back to my car that was parked in the free parking lot. Nice little stroll through a park.

Just seen Brian Adams here!!!!!!!

By St_Matty |

Went there Friday night to see Brian Adams. Was a good show.

Overall i found the venue very good. There was a bit of a queue going in but that was to be expected with people showing up last minute as they have been at work during the day.

I found the drinks a bit expensive, $12 for a Stella and as the stall that sold wine by the glass had run out the only place selling was by the bottle which was $45 for the cheapest.

Staff where good and very friendly and will be going back to see Duran Duran in 2 weeks time. Will probably pay the pub a visit first though this time.

Concert

By JKickertz |

We always have a good time at Cynthia Woods it is a great smaller venue! This particular visit the sound wasn’t spot on, but other than that it was good!

great concert

By sbjay3 |

I attended this venue for the second year in a row. I bought concert tickets both times
The individual acts were great. The sound system and stage were first class. The stage hands did a great job. The various vendors for food and drinks were very professional and friendly. The food was great and the prices a tad bit h thigh but that is to be expected at these type events. The parking was great and to be at a large park the scenery as far as lake ducks, paddle boats etc were a plus

Viewing a concert in the finest facility around the Houston area

By Thomas P M |

We attended a recital with friends and as always, the facility was almost as impressive as the event itself. There is not a bad seat in the house, from either a visual or acoustical perspective.

Never a bad view

By astrosgirl23 |

This place is such a nice venue. Even on a summer night, theres usually a decent breeze. I do highly recommend covered seating because Texas weather can be unpredictable and the lawn area will turn in to a smelly mud pit. Things usually run very smoothly with the staff being well prepared. Good food, good beer selection and clean restrooms. *** I highly recommend attending without wearing a purse but if you must, a fancy pack or very small crossbody is ideal. They will not let you in the gates with a bag over 8.5x11.

Clean, well-run outdoor venue

By luv2trvl1426 |

We enjoyed a summer evening concert here. Although the temp was in the 90’s, we were able to enjoy our concert because of the option for seats in a covered area that has large overhead fans. This would be an awesome venue for a spring or fall concert!

HOT and HORRIBLE!!

By Debbie R |

We went to the Doobie Brothers/Chicago concert last Saturday and it was HOT! We had pretty good seats under the covered section but the overhead fans did little to cool us off and the seat aisles are really long and I felt like the seats were really close together. So inconvenient to have to climb over so many people and traipse downstairs to go to the bathrooms. Isn't there some kind of cooling mist system that can be used in such extreme heat? Also the Doobie Brothers were really good but Chicago's vocals were disappointing. Nice to hear the old songs, though! Good luck trying to get a table at the nearby restaurants without reservations. Most of them had an over 2 hour waiting list and if you read their reviews, most don't appear to be that good. The drinks at the concert were pricey, and it was $20 to park, but on a positive note, the staff was very nice in getting us through the gates relatively quickly. Needless to say, we won't be back any time soon!

Good concert venue

By PMTRTX |

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands is a good venue for concerts and events. Parking is well managed around the venue. Artists of all musical genres, famous and local, perform here and concerts are often sold out. There is covered seating at the front with air-conditioning for which you pay; further back is covered non-a/c seating which is fine if it is not too hot in the evening and at the back there is lawn seating where there are chairs to hire and you can bring a cool box with you for a family event.

Great place to hear the Houston Symphony

By GeoffnDivina |

The Houston Symphony performs various ensemble, the latest we attended was the July 3, 2017 Star-Spangled Salute with conductor Steven Reineke. We were in the mezzanine section. Both the lawn and mezzanine seating are free. The atmosphere is infectious and the crowd fun but not rowdy. It is a wonderful place to spend the night enmeshed in the arts.....

LOVE CWMP

By Tammy R |

I love going to events here. The sound is great and it very relaxed atmosphere. I have never encountered a rude staff person or visitor as far as that goes.

Great Venue

Excellent venue. Family attended Buzzfest and enjoyed the whole experience. We stayed at the Marriott which was very convenient but beware the Marriott misleading you on parking.

By Daniel P |

Seen lynnard skynnard last night,I've enjoyed coming here for concerts for several years. People complain about the prices of everything from t shirts to food but that comes with the territory, still a great place.

Walk and Reflect

By Summertill |

The Mitchell's have left a lasting legacy
all over Houston and Galveston. But perhaps best seen here at the Pavillion where they would wait in line like everyone else before concerts!

Humility and Service: you can feel it here in The Woodlands!

Nice and cozy!

By Alex R |

This is a very nice amphitheater. There is plenty of cover for the reserved seats and there is plenty of room for those opting for the General Admission seats. Bring your own chair or blanket. Or you can rent a chair at the venue. I have attended many concerts here and have enjoyed them all. It's south Texas so it can get hot. But usually the music makes up for it. There is a noise curfew in The Woodlands also. Performers can't go beyond 11 pm and that's kind of a down at times. But it's still worth doing.

It’s getting Hot in here!!

By Dreamer37775666470 |

It’s just to hot for summer concerts especially in Houston and they still have not been able to accommodate this accordingly, after all this time in business ceiling fans under the canopy can not keep up with how hot it gets or the amount of people breathing out hot air. Just measurable. Good thing I didn’t buy tickets for this event and probably never will buy during the summer again.

Saw a Concert, duh.

By diverdude2 |

Saw a great series of acts. Unfortunately had a pair of clowns behind us that kept talking during the headliners performance. Finally got the a$$ of that and went to the air conditioned lounge that was excellent. Had a drink and enjoyed the rest of the show in peace.

Great acoustics, awesome venue

By SolidRock303 |

Many talented people come here to play and it is an amazing place that is well kept! And like I said in the title... great acoustics
Oh and since you are in the same spot... go and check out market street

Cynthia Woods security is on a power trip and not a good one..

By AEJ-MWS |

This is the last time we will ever buy seats in the pavilion versus the lawn especially considering the cost and actually enjoying the show. Security was RIDICULOUS and seemed to be on a power trip. Specifically, the female employee in section 102 who had a white neck fan during the Meghan Trainor show in 10/12.

After returning from the restroom, I was waiting in the pathway before I went to my aisle to be courteous and wait between acts. The attendant told me that I couldn’t stand there for safety reasons, I told her I was waiting to get to my seat and she then reported me to her manager. Seriously? I am a rule follower and this was extremely embarrassing.

In addition, they were constantly harassing little kids (who could not see) in row GG for standing in their seats. I read before the show this is a rule; HOWEVER, every other row in front of us had kids standing which made it impossible to see. Fine, do your job, but be consistent. Thanks again for making what should have been a memorable night crappy.

Thanks for ruining the show!!!

Great Concert Venue

By RamY |

CWM Pavilion at the Woodlands - What a great venue for summer concerts. Great place to make musical memories. The staff is incredibly helpful and respectful, at least when we were there recently. Concession prices could be a little lower but I think that’s with every venue these days. Keep up the great work CWM Pavilion.

#1 Amphitheater in the Country

By Daniel S |

Been to several concerts over the past few years at Cynthia Woods and every one has been just wonderful. If you have a seat you're up closer to the performer, but being out in the grass is still a great place to be. Drinks and food are affordable, lawn chairs are available in the grass seats for $6 of you need it.

Lovely!

By Kelly K |

Absolute beautiful local for a show/concert. I've never gotten a lawn seat here but, I've also never heard anyone complain about those seats either. The seats are covered so it protects you from some of Houston's deadly heat rays, lol. The food and drink are ridiculously overpriced (as at most venues) but, honestly, I've never had a bad time here.

Wonderful, safe venue.

By Bookshelfish |

This is a local gem. Parking is not always close and you will have a walk to your car and a have a heck of a wait to leave the area unless you leave early. If you buy parking with your ticket, you will be in the closest garage BUT you will wait forever to get out of the garage. I always park at the lot next to the Cinemark Theater for $20 and sneak out early. Easy Peasy. Mounted Horse Patrol makes it stressless to attend an event alone as someone will always escort you to your car, but I've never felt unsafe there in 23 years. Dozens of great shops and restaurants on The Woodlands Waterway nearby make going early and getting great parking an option. I just wish that they would have events during the cooler months rather than during the hot, humid spring and summer months. It can be miserably hot as it is outdoor seating only. Lawn and be muddy but cheap! Bring a tarp or rent chairs early!Tickets sell out very fast!

Great place to see a concert!

By Kara B |

I highly recommend getting lawn seats. They're reasonably priced and you still have a great view of the stage. One thing I love about this venue is that each person can bring one gallon sized ziplock bag of food it. It saves a lot of money at concessions! When the weather is good, it's hard to beat this venue.

Not in August.....

By kellithetaz |

This is a fun outdoor venue when you're not there in the dead of a Texas summer. Although the seating area is covered & has large outdoor fans, the seats are close together & the air does not circulate well.
Many attendees choose the grass seats, however, everyone arrives really early to get the best area, therefore you're in the sun for hours prior to concert. So... Choose your poison wisely 😜
Additionally, be prepared for long security lines since everyone gets wanded before entering & there aren't many gates so it takes a long time to get in.

Fins Up for Jimmy and This Venue!

By boby |

This is an awesome venue for an outdoor concert on a beautiful summer evening! We heard Jimmy Buffett, and he has never sounded better! This was my fourth time to see him live and it was the best yet! I will certainly return for future concerts. There is not a bad seat in the pavilion. It's easy to find your seat and when the concert ends the crowd easily finds exits. Drinks are expensive, only beer and cheap wine. No liquor. Fantastic!

Jimmy Buffet

By Dan P |

Awesome awesomely awesome great venue. Only get lawn seats as that is where the fun is. Sound is great the view is great because you only watch the screens anyway unless you are right upfront

Great acustics

By JRC14026 |

Great concerts, friendly staff. Not a lot of seats available, but if you don't mind sitting on the lawn they are great. Bring a blanket.

Great Outdoor Venue

By OkiePoke73 |

Easy access, great venue, great acts. Houston Synphony has several free concerts ever year. Fans cool the seats.

Great concert venue

By DaytonQueen4 |

We have traveled to the Pavilion on many occasions for various concerts. Not a bad seat in the house. We always have a great time. Staff is very helpful and plenty of them, the restrooms and pavilion are always clean and well stocked. The prices are typical for these types of events. We're looking to take our kids to some of the festivals they have around the holidays.

Nice Venue for Concerts

By Jim77406 |

We've been to a lot of concerts at a lot of different places and the Mitchell Pavilion is a nice venue but there are things you should know if you go. Go early. Not all the gates were open and it took an hour just to get thru the gates. If there is a storm, the concessions will be closed. The night we went there was thunder and lightening and you could not get any beer, wine, liquor or food. If you go during the summer, it is an outdoor theater. It will be hot...and humid. It is Houston after all. They have Big A$$ Fans to help move the air but they weren't on the night we went. Also be prepared to walk a long distance from your car. If that is a problem you can always use a car service to get there from a local hotel. If you come prepared you will have a good time.

Concert venue

By Theresa B |

This is a great venue in the spring and fall, but brutally hot/humid in Summer even with the sun down. That doesn't stop us from going and enjoying some crazy fun with friends!! We started our night in the house of Blues tent, serves mixed drinks at reasonable cost. Air conditioning, music, tables and chairs. Stayed until concert got started and returned after to let traffic die down. It was a perfect place to meet friends an hour before concert and to cool off when it was over. Lots of fun memories!

My ears are ringing...after the symphony!!!!

By FishinTexan |

My wife went to see the Houston Symphony playing Led Zeppelin covers. Boring, you say. Hardly, this place was rocking and the cover band with a 100 piece orchestra and live strings brought these old tunes to life. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant would surely be proud. A bit pricey for beer $12.50...but it was Stella. Would be my only complaint. Pay a little extra for a seat, particularly during the summer.

Hot...but rockin'!!!

By Amy F |

Attended a concert in July...it was very hot, but the misters and covered seating helped some. Getting in and out was very smooth...the vendors were OK...we didn't like the burgers or drinks all that much, especially for the hefty price. We had great seats though!! I'd suggest trying to attend something during the cooler months, if possible.

Great venue for the Opera

By GeoffnDivina |

Just watched a superb Houston Grand Opera's performance of The Barber of Seville. The performance is free when seated on the lawn or in the Mezzanine. We always stay in the Mezzanine so we are protected from the elements and closer to the stage. This is a wonderful community stage for various arts performance in the Parking is also free.

Zac Brown Band

By spetricko |

Been to this venue several times. This is the first time we had a room and walked there. The people are very helpful and the acoustics are great.

Great venue

By goodie2shoes7 |

We love this venue but we prefer to go in the cooler months. The covered seating has fans but try to get an aisle seat for more breeze. In our younger years we enjoyed lawn seating!

What a great concert experience in spite of rain!

By Liberty C |

While it's an outdoor venue, there is a roof over most of the seating. If you're getting tickets to a show here in August, try to get them for seats, rather than the lawn. It was raining for our show, and it's a rain or shine venue. For gwens show, there was a heavy rain and the show went on as planned. I saw lots of people out on the lawn with umbrellas and ponchos.

One of the best concert venues in the world!

By SuitcaseLawyer |

I've been to concerts in huge stadiums and arenas, including Madison Squate Garden, Azteca Stadium, Wembley, San Diego Sports Arena, Toyota Center, American Airlines, etc. None compare to the quality in experience you receive at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion or as we call it in The Woodlands: "The Pavillion"!

The acoustics for one are among the best I've heard. You don't have reverberated sounds or oscillating quality as in stadiums or arenas.

You can see the stage from pretty much anywhere and the two huge screens let you enjoy the show.

Wherever you seat, front seating or in the backlawn, the incline and direction of the sound will let you enjoy your concert awesomely.

One of the best parts is the ability to buy drinks and food from two sets of snack and refreshment areas at opposite sides of the venue. You can buy in a huge assortment of vendors.

There is also a House of Rock VIP area with bar service where you can linger a bit longer after a concert. Parking and transportarion is amply available.

Eric Church!!!

By corgon9 |

We were supposed to have come to this concert back in September until hurricane Harvey had other plans and had to reschedule this event until April. This show was worth the wait. We could see and clearly hear everything and had the best time!! I can’t say the same for the couple in front of us who argued the ENTIRE show about some nachos. But definitely will be coming back to see other artists!

Great outdoor venue

By JSJR |

We feel so fortunate to have such a fine venue nearby! We have enjoyed many of the free shows, and several concerts. If it’s a hot evening, there is usually a nice breeze on the lawn. There are tons of nice restaurants within walking distance, and it’s nice to walk along the water, and enjoy the fountains in the evening.

Great Place To See a Concert

By nolaaddict |

This outdoor theater is a great venue for concerts. My only warning is that it can be
Very hot in July and August. The sound is great.

Not bad

By dgcollins975 |

Good venue as long as it does not rain, other wise you are screwed unless you bought the expensive tickets under the pavilion.

One of America’s most outstanding outdoor venues.

By JumboJimbo69 |

Affordable lawn seats at every concert. Covered seating with large overhead fans that take away the heat on hot summer nights in the reserved seats. The sound system is very good.

I have been to several concerts and it’s a favorite of Houstonians who come from far and wide to see top musicians in a small outdoor venue.

Enjoyed the concert, dress comfortable, relaxed and chose the covered Pavillion seats.

By Chastity J |

Concert was my first outdoor center event and it was good. The food and beverage service was good with a variety. There are large fans that move the air, but do dress comfortable during high temps.
I’d say shorts or just jeans and tshirt, will make you comfortable and relaxed at this outdoor venue. There are screens for concerts, our seats were under the Pavilion not on the grass and great seats.
Looking forward to next time !

This is simply one of the best places around the world to see live music. Only drawback is that it is in houston and outdoors so plan for heat

By vera hs |

Love this place. Convenience as it is so close to where i live. And one event after another all year long. Fun fun fun !

Relaxing environment

By SoniaRen |

This is a nice place to see a show. It is TX do the outdoor venue isn’t always ideal during the heat of the day. Plenty of nearby hotels.

Another amazing event

By Us4cityfolks |

My second concert at this venue. Sound quality is amazing. Fun environment and everyone seems to have fun and get along. Plenty of staff and security on hand. Restrooms are clean and the venue always looks brand new. Even with lines, ticket scan and entry went fast and smooth. Concessions are very expensive, but most venues are.

Great view, terrible acoustics

By Michael M |

The venue is clean, pretty, and the seats are all pretty good, but none of that mattered since every band that played had their sound horribly distorted by the acoustics.

I have enjoyed concerts at other places, and they're always loud, but I couldn't even understand the songs I knew by heart. Really, really bad sound. I'm shocked anyone has said otherwise, frankly.

Concert

By Brian P |

I attend many concerts at this venue. Not a bad seat in the house. I prefer reserved seating so I can show up just before the show starts, but hanging out on the lawn is fun also.

Better have a credit card with a chip in it.

By HailStorm |

Revert back to taking cash. Some people did not know that no cash is accepted at this venue since the last time they visited. People could not buy water without having a credit card. Do you know that some people do not even have credit cards (younger generations like kids and teens). On this visit to the 2022 Buzzfest, I saw more people passing out from heat exhaustion than I ever had on all of the many visits that I have made to this venue. Why?

Jimmy Buffett Concert

By GGRN44 |

This is an absolutely beautiful venue! Most seats have a good stage view. Bathroom facilities are large and clean too. My only criticisms are: need more efficient system for entry, mixed drinks are underwhelming, and seats need to be further apart. The seats are so close together that you’re shoulder to shoulder with the people next to you. A little too close and personal, when it’s not someone you’ve come with.

Badddd

By Grayson M |

Terrible, they wouldn’t let me bring in my purse which was holding a tampon and my phone, THE WORKERS told me to hide it in a bush until the concert was over and the purse was no longer there after. Terrible workers who don’t care a bit about you!!!!

Jimmy Buffett concert

By Bill D |

This venue is one of the best ones that I've been to. Well run, with polite, friendly staff members.

They let us in there about an hour before venue opened to go to the House of Blues room!!! Lawn people lined up in there and we were able to get drinks before gates opened and we were also out of the weather!!!

Hot, Miserable and NEVER AGAIN!

Note the “Lone Wolf” 😆 standing to obstruct our $400.00 view! Staff “couldn’t” ask him to sit and me being 5’2” was prohibited from standing on my seat (even though I wouldn’t I had to ask). Luckily for us he only stood through Jason Bonham’s performance and was depleted by the heat by the time Frampton took the stage so he sat down!

The sweltering heat was definitely not worth it! Any place with A/C would have made the show phenomenal, but NO! Just NO! It was so bad I wanted to leave but I was the guest of my daughter! I looked around and it seemed that the only people having a good time were those who had altered their experience with alcohol or possibly some other drug!

This is a not for profit venue to advance the performing arts but as adults we know someone is getting paid!

BOYCOTT IS VENUE! The artists will stop booking if they can’t sell tickets! DONT BE FOOLED BY NOT FOR PROFIT STATUS!

Great venue for outdoor concerts

By stenfam |

Well run facility, covered seating or the lawn available. Big fans under covered area keep air moving and comfortable. Great concerts from many big names as well as Houston Symphony and Ballet events which have great seat prices or free seating in upper levels and lawn. Parking is readily available nearby and there are lots of restaurant choices in Market Street and in the area.

GREAT concert! GREAT venue! Highly recommend Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion!

By Linda S |

Went to the Styx concert over the weekend (June 2024). Hadn't been to Cynthia Woods Pavillion in a few years - and I'd forgotten how much I love the Pavillion.

TEMPERATURE: Was it hot? Yes, it is TEXAS in the summer after all. Highly recommend t-shirt or tanktop and shorts. Our tickets were in the covered part of the Pavillion, so the hot sun was NOT bearing down upon us. Large ceiling fans above are not meant to cool off - I believe they're meant to draw the hot air up away from the fans below. Worked well. It was actually not bad under the Pavillion - there was a nice breeze the entire night. The only time I was hot/sweaty was when I went to buy a t-shirt and food/drinks. If I had lawn seats, that would be a different story though - probably hot 'n sweaty there, I'm guessing.

FOOD: Cheeseburger was around $15, and it was tasty. It's on the small side (although my adult son and I cut the burger in half and shared it just fine). Fries around $7 were hot & delicious (we shared the fries). Funnel cake fries around $7. Bottled water was $5. Pepsi fountain drinks were around $5.25. Lots of food vendor windows, so the lines weren't long (lines had maybe 3-4 people in each line - not bad at all, and it went quickly). I believe we could've brought in an empty water bottle and filled it up at a water fountain for free - but I wanted to make sure we had cold drinks, so we splurged.

SECURITY LINE: Lines weren't bad at all - although we did arrive at 6:30 p.m. and the first opening band was at 7pm (with Styx coming at 9:35 p.m.), so perhaps the security lines were longer earlier in the day. I carried a medium-sized clear purse. Security was a breeze - they weren't measuring anyone's purse/bag. I had read some Tripadvisor reviews about the Security staff measuring bags and being very particular about the purse/bag size - but I didn't see them bother anyone while I was in line. It was super fast - and the Security staff was super nice.

STAFF: All of the staff that we encountered (parking lot staff, t-shirt vendor, food vendors) were all VERY nice. Very friendly, everyone we encountered told us to enjoy the concert. Very helpful after the concert, directing people audibly ("Blue lot straight ahead" etc.).

TICKETS: Our tickets were in Section 105/Row G, and the seats were great! Actually, imho, there are no bad seats at the Cynthia Woods Pavillion. They do have several large, white columns that support the overhead roof - but if you have those tickets that may be slightly obstructed by those columns, you already knew that because it's listed on the tickets you purchased (it will say OV = obstructed view) - and those tickets are slightly cheaper. But, with that said, I think those tickets would be fine too, unless you're picky and are a super fan of the band - and if you were, then you should buy tickets closer to the stage anyway, lol.

FREE PARKING!: Don't be confused by the people on Tripadvisor complaining that there isn't free parking! THERE IS FREE PARKING! They have 5 FREE parking lots (orange, yellow, blue, green, white). And, they have one (1) smaller prepaid parking lot that is closer to the Pavillion, and it is $35 prepaid. Parking on the way into the concert was fine - some car lines, but not horrible. We ended up parking in the Yellow Lot (because the Green Lot was already full, and the Orange Lot was filling up fast). It was a 10-minute walk to the venue - nicely shaded most of the way, near a waterway. Nice walk - wasn't bad at all. We did get turned around inadvertently after the concert, and it took us 15 minutes to get back to our car - but that was our fault.

Matchbox Twenty, Counting Crows, and Rivers and Rust!

By Jannine D |

Went to this venue for this concert. I must say that it was one of my best experiences at a concert. I had been here previously as a teenager but had never returned due to the Texas heat. I must say coming back now as an adult this place is awesome! All the staff we encountered were friendly and very forth coming with information when asked about where to find things such as T-shirts and start times. We were fortunate to have access to one of the VIP lounges where we could buy drinks (mind you we could not take them out of the lounges) but we could drink then go out to the concert instead of paying ridiculous prices for drinks ($45 for 3 beers and a water) Paying that once was enough to go to the lounge for drinks and the concert without any drinks. If you are able to buy VIP tickets I highly recommend it. Otherwise great place and employees!

Watch your wallet

By SedonaSid |

everything is WAY over priced. They WILL let you take in an empty water bottle to fill from the fountains. Be sure to eat before you go there. It's carnival food at best. Also this is not a good place to go if you don't like big crowds. It's a big over priced band shell.

Great Venue

By Monica B |

We had a great time at the concert, no matter where you sit you have a great view. If you have not been to the Pavilion, buy a ticket and check it out!

Sweet Sounds

By Tim D |

Mitchell Pavilion is nestled right next to a major shopping mall, which is not typical of most major city amphitheaters. Because of this, there are a large number of upper scale restaurants within walking distance of the gates. Best advice is to take advantage of that fact.

Wonderful Venue

By Rebecca G |

A good way to enjoy a concert under the stars. Usually have seating but this time we were on the lawn and it was terrific!
We arrived early and found an area close to the front rail and the concrete walk way. The sound was wonderful. You can rent a lawn chair or take your own blankets. Line was long for rental so we passed on the chair. The incline of the lawn is enough that you can see over the people in front of you.
You are allowed to bring in food for each person as long as it fits into a gallon ziplock bag. NO LIQUID OR DRINKS Are allowed to be brought in. Can bring a small water bottle with no lid to refill. You bag will be searched..
Considering all the people, quite a bit of free parking is available. We parked in the Green Lot and even the walk was nice. We left a little early and locals were gathered in the park outside the venue having picnics and just enjoying the music. I wanted to move to the Woodlands so I could make a habit of that!

Concert Venue

By O3972EErichardb |

I attended a concert here for the first time last night. I didn't feel it was that good of a venue for a concert. We were in section 101 row Q seats 23&24. Seats seemed smaller then an airline seat. Not that much slope to the floor. So when people stood up view was blocked even standing. Jumbotrons were badly placed and low. So also mostly blocked when crowd stood up. Last night was a comfortable night (temp & humidity wise) for a outdoor concert in TX. I can't imagine attending a event here in July or August.

Don't favor a drunk, intimidating bully

By Kimberly R |

An intoxicated, intimidating bully at least 8 inches taller and much larger than I am chose to dance in front of my seat. I'm accustomed to people dancing... singing...yelling...but this behemoth was blocking my entire view. He was not in front of his seat, but mine. He wanted room to stretch his large frame into a grand performance. When asked to please stay in front of his seat, he was aggressive and threatening. CMWP offered to move us from 3rd row pit seats to folding chairs in teh back of the stadium. I didn't want to trade my expensive seats ( a special gift from my husband) for folding chairs while the bully got his larger stage... so we left after the second song. We reached out the CWMP and received a generic form letter saying they regret that we were disappointed. They never checked his tickets to make sure he was in the correct seats.

Nice venue....

By Danny T |

It was a nice venue, The sun was on the back of our heads but as the sun went down it was nice. It was in July and a out door concert, so it is what it is but a great evening..

Boom bash 2

By Nekisha D |

We really enjoyed seeing all the old school acts perform and doing there thing this was the second boom bash presented by boom 92.1 and it was definitely a well put together event with no complications besides the rain and heat but it's expected with Texas weather

Over-rated, over-priced mediocrity

By PassingThruAmericas |

Expect to:
1) Stand in long line in scorching heat for the privilege of proving you're not a terrorist.
2) Pay $33 for a diarrhea dog with soggy fries
3) Wait over one hour past the scheduled show time for the concert you paid for to come on stage.
4) Mediocre sound engineering.

Do Not bring a purse bigger than a piece of paper!!!!

By jennifer f |

I had to throw away my purse because it was bigger than a piece of paper! 🤔I really can't fathom why that's a policy there! We had to stuff all of our belongings in our pants ... I enjoy the fact that they provide chairs on the lawn, obviously first come first served.. I was impressed that the bathrooms are constantly cleaned... the beers are insane IF you don't go to the actual con session stands!!! The pop up thing/tent things ...Don't buy beer from there!!!!!!! 12.50 for a 24oz Budweiser!!! Vs consession stand 11 for a pint of dark beer or 5$ for a smaller but sufficient sized dark beer... the parking was a nightmare!!! If ticket master or wherever you purchase your event tickets offer a parking pass for 20$ Do it!!! You'll pay 20$ anyway and have to walk a while regardless! The fact that I had to throw my purse away is the main reason for 3 stars!! If you sit on the lawn , get there early!(we would've if parking didn't take 45 minutes to figure out) or be prepared to stagger a Lot!!

Zac Brown Concert

By kellben2014 |

This is my first time going to the CWM pavilion. It is an awesome venue for concerts. Owe had seats in section 101 and were very close to the stage. The sound was excellent. The food and beverages are quit pricy so just be prepared to shell out some bucks for a beer and a hot dog

Top notch venue

By Snammy11 |

Business sponsored event with tickets to a concert, VIP entrance and a huge food bar with BBQ and sides galore! It was amazing! The hospitality was top notch - every staff person I encountered was polite and seemed genuinely happy to be there.

Great Place to See a Top Rate Performance

By gemayhall |

Over the past 15 years that we have lived in the Woodlands Township, the ability to attend high quality concerts at the Mitchell Pavillion has been one of the many benefits that we have enjoyed.

We have attended orchestra performances as well as concerts be the likes of Jimmy Buffet, the Beach Boys, Toby Keith, Teri Clark, Chicago, Moody Blues, the Doobie Brothers, and Lady Antebellum.

You have the choice of booking reserved seats close to the stage that are covered or lower-cost lawn chair seating on inclined lawn above the reserved seat area. The acoustics are good in all seats.

There are plenty of beer, wine, fast-food, and snack choices available.

Great Music Festival Venue

By Ron F |

I attended a Jazz / R&B festival here and it was exception. I have been to music festivals across the country and this is one of the nicest venues. Not a bad seat in the house. Easy access to Vendors and Bathrooms. Food was pricey, but all in all, a beautiful experience.

Great venue - but we need ice when it's 90 degrees

By Michele C |

Love this venue, however for a $12 beer I wish the beer could be COLD. Or at least, give cups of ice. They do for wine but not beer.

Pleasant family atmosphere for all ages . Great events!

The Heart of the Woodlands social scene. Pleasant family atmosphere for all ages . Great events! Walk to wherever you want.

A review of the VENUE, not the act on the stage

By daanderson77 |

As far as being able to produce an outdoor concert goes, It's always been good sound, The last times I have been there, there are two large video panels on either side of the stage, with live action shots of the performance, for those of us up on the hill. I have seen some GREAT performances there (BeachBoys, Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire, Doobie Bros, come to mind). The sound is loud enough that you can't hear the people in front of you singing along. I'd guess mid 90 decibels, clean. That's the venue, not the guy mixing the show.

Parking is remote, I think there are closer in lots that you can pay for, but if you don't mind a 10 minute walk in Texas Heat/Humidity, free parking is a plus. Another plus is that if your tickets are for lawn seating, renting a lawn chair is only like six bucks each, or something very reasonable (CASH ONLY)

HOWEVER, I stood in the chair rental line for nearly 25 minutes, so come early, and let your date squat on the lawn realestate (teamwork). I know concessions are a revenue stream, but a bottle of water that costs $0.27 in the grocery store, goes for $5. There are a couple of water fountains outside of the restrooms. I have NEVER seen the ladies room without a line. My biggest gripe is that last time, in the final 2 minutes approaching, we saw sign boards saying "no purses".bigger than "this". Her purse was slightly larger than "that", but was completely empty, such that, she could easily mash it down into that size, and was happy to show that it was empty. We took a chance, and waited through the 15 minute line to enter the pavilion, only to learn that we had guessed wrong, and we then had to go back to the car to leave the purse, and return. Fortunately, we had time, but If I was one of those people that ended up missing the first 20 minutes of the show, I would have been miffed. It should have been mentioned on the ticket. I get it, they don't want someone to bring in their own munchies, or a gun, etc. etc. I support that. But I shoulda been told when I bought the tickets, and that's on the Venue. You can easily spend 40 bucks a head on brew and munchies, So, I suggest getting an early table at the Cheesecake factory, then "walking it off" on the way to the Pavilion..

Amazing Night Rocking out to REO and Chicago!

Fantastic Customer Service Staff! Although the line was long, the staff moved everyone through quickly and with a smile on their face!

Clean & courteous

By NurseK12 |

Been about 10 years since my last experience here. What impressed me now as a parent was the cleanliness of the grounds & courtesy of the staff. Caution with checkpoint: no bags larger than an 8.5x11 piece of paper. Decent Food choices & huge beers (from what people around me had). Put repellent on before coming & bring a Frogger cooling tie & a sweat rag if summer months. Some cool air blows on you in seats but brutal on the lawn. Overall a great experience.

Jack Johnson Show

By Morgan |

Visited this venue for the Jack Johnson and Zighy Markey concert. It was a very very humid night, but overall the experience exceeded our expectations. Food and drink onsite were spectacular and not your average arena food! Parking was easy and we got into the pavilion within 5-6 minutes. My only gripe: I know concessions have to be shut down prior to end of the show but with current heat water should still be available for purchase throughout the evening or at least have water fountains or water bottles readily accessible!

The best sound system in H-town!

By genaromillerjr |

My wife and I have enjoyed many rock artists concerts here. Everything here is about convenience and security! Even the lawn seating is great, You bring a blanket, rent chairs, and enjoy all your favorite bands year-round. Just a small walk to get drinks and good food. Highly recommended for young and old.

Great outdoor venue

By Folty |

Great way to see a summer concert. There isn't a bad seat on the lawn. Clean bathrooms and the seats you can rent are reasonable. It doesn't take long to get a beer from a vendor walking around with a huge cooler, so no reason to stand in line. They need to do something about the huge amount of waste and trash. They could use a much more comprehensive plan to recycle all the plastic and aluminum, and for real waste they need more trashcans in more convenient locations. I can say this: there are tons of choices. From symphony to rap to classic rock, their lineups are diverse and attract the big names.

Cynthia Mitchell Pavilion Concert

By R Mitchell |

My wife and I attended a concert here - Chaka Khan and Michael McDonald - and the seating was great! It was hot outside but worth it. I’d go to another event here though the drinks were expensive and some attendees forgot that there were others behind them when they stood up for a while.

Concert

By Leslie L |

Went to the Heart concert tonight. Parking is always a pain in the butt and the walk from the parking lot is so far. The girl that took my ticket was rude. To top it off the canned beer was HOT! 12.00 for a beer, it should at least be cold. The lines were long to rent. A chair and the chairs were WET. We enjoyed the show and the place is nice but the beer and rude girl set a bad time when we first arrived. It's Texas, we want cold beer. Thankfully the show was amazing!

Best concert venue

Concerts are well organized and seating choices available for all budgets. In the pit or on the hill you will always have a good time.

NOT A BAD SEAT!

By LCMOM09 |

No bad seat in the place, but don't go in the dead of summer...August heat in Texas, enough said! Great place and great concerts, just not for the faint hearted if you don't like the elements!

Popular concert venue.

By podrozniczka60 |

It is located just off the Market Street complex and Woodlands Waterway area but does not have a hallmark concert hall appearance. Only the big white tent next to the main square building gives it away. Many popular concerts are held here and we found the information about their schedule simply on line.

Excellent,

By David C |

Beautiful Outdoor venue under big Tent.
VERY HOT after April to October.
But we go in summer / year 'round.
Much more beautiful experience than the typical downtown / City venues.
Woodlands is Gorgeous !

Great place!

By Kim H |

The Pavilion is a great place to see a concert. You can either sit in the stands with reserved seating or pay a small fee to sit on the lawn. When sitting on the lawn, you can bring your own blanket to sit on or rent a chair for $5 or $6 (I can't recall the exact price).

You can purchase food and drinks while there.

Some performances are free to go to like the symphony. If you get a chance, you should make the effort to go. You won't be disappointed.

As for the concerts, look online for the line up and purchase your tickets as soon as you can. Many sell out fast. There is something for everyone.

Enjoy!

Wear shorts

By danidb518 |

Been here only a couple of times over the years.
Just too warm to really enjoy. Bothered by humidity! The two large fans were not on. Long lines for the few rest rooms! It's a Shame when you pay so much for a ticket that you have to watch the large tv screens cuz you are so far away from the stage - bought ticket the day they went on sale. That's all I could get after over an hour of trying online. Seats are really close together and it's a shame or maybe just rude that people wear hats!!! A very large man sat in front of me and he was wearing a cap but so were others seated around us. I changed seats with my husband. (The pic I'm posting is before the hat man sat down, & other pic is without zoom lens)
And spilled beer etc from behind us - had no choice but to stand in it. Right under our feet the whole time.
Have no idea about parking since we walked from the hotel we were staying at. No crowd problem in walking to or leaving the venue.

Great place to attend a concert!

I have been in the pavilion several time and have always enjoyed the venue. I recommend it. During summer might be hot, but the rest of the year is great.

Beatles and Houston Symphony concerr

By HoustonRobert |

The tribute band concerts here are usually very good. We attended the Beatles one last week.. Was okay but not great - band seemed to lack energy. But it was a good nostalgia trip and free to boot (except for parking). This is a wonderful venue for concerts and is not to be missed.

Hocus Pocus pops

The Pavilion has regular performances by the Houston Symphony Orchestra and it’s fantastic. My husband and I went for date night, but it definitely was great for kids. Bring a picnic and sit on the hill. Wonderful music and the mezzanine and grass seats are free on these nights.

Joe Walsh/Bad Company Tour

By wpace8 |

No bad seats. Sound system is excellent. Easy to move up to pavilion (covered) if there are seats available.

Beautiful Venue

By Us4cityfolks |

We attended the Slipknot/Volbeat concert here. It is a beautiful, well kept venue. The sound quality is great and in the lawn area there is plenty of room to stretch out so that you don't feel crowded. We did spend some time in the sun, but fortunately there was a breeze blowing so the heat was not bad. Once the sun went down it was nice and almost cool. Getting in and out of the venue is easy even with a huge crowd. The venue is designed so that even on the lawn you can see everything that is going on. My only two complaints would be the staff and the beverage prices. $27 for two beers is insane and I heard so many people complain. The other issue would be the attitude of the staff. They were impatient and unfriendly with most of the people I watched them encounter. Almost as if they couldn't be there to enjoy the concert, so they didn't want anyone else to. Overall I would definitely go back for another event.

Seat on the Hill!

Love the concerts at this place, get there early and sit on the hill n the middle of the stage, u can't go wrong!

Still a great choice to see a concert ... but management of facility slacking

By STULETSEAT |

If you look around, stains on the tent... stains on the buildings ... long lines at beverage and food venues... I could keep going, one can comprehend... Really bad management ...A shame... I loved this place... Needs a Industrial engineer to get things back in shape...

Great experience

By raechellea2017 |

This was my first time at this concert venue and it was awesome I felt safe and secure and everything seemed organized

Love the venue but not the prices.

By St_Matty |

I've been to a few concerts here and I have always enjoyed myself. The atmosphere and sound are great. I'd like to go to more but the cost prevents that. Ticket prices are high unless you get lucky, and the cost for drinks is ridiculous. I did like the new automated service to buy beer, though, as it was quick and efficient.

Venue Upgrades Desperately Needed

By Jenn Thomas |

Will NEVER attend another Summer concert there again, until they start investing in the property. There’s No reason why there can’t be misters somewhere on the property like in the main sales area or along the pillars along the the back of the main cover before the lawn. The bathrooms have absolutely no ventilation and we almost passed out while in the restroom. Come on now, Time for some Upgrades! Also why advertise drinks that aren’t sold anywhere on the property? There needs to be More Attention to detail for the patrons who are spending at least $50+ just to get in the door.

Depeche Mode and Warpaint

By Maricela B |

The parking is crazy. The lots closest to the venue are $10 and up, cash only. Surrounding business have signs saying your vehicle will be towed if you use their parking lots. I was able to find free parking in a mall area behind the Tinseltown theater. If taking a purse make sure that it is no bigger than a piece of paper or you will have to throw it away or walk back to your car to store it.

The venue is nice and clean. We were lucky enough to have a breeze the night of the show. Didn't visit concessions, but could see from walking by that they are expensive...as to be expected at any venue these days.

The sound for the show was awesome. They put some of the show and images on the two screens at the sides of the stage which is nice because after spending over $300 for tickets under the pavilion to make sure we had a nice spot to sit and watch, the crowd stood through the entire main act. The floor doesn't have that much of a slope to it so you have to stand unless you want to look at peoples backs through the show. Also, there was a couple with three small boys in front of us that stood on their chairs the entire show so if you're short like me, good luck seeing anything. If I do visit this venue again I would probably buy lawn tickets instead and hope for the best.

NEED AIR CONDITIONING IN RESTROOMS

By Starlight_812 |

Come on really? $13 dollars for a beer and you can't put air conditioning the the restrooms? This is Texas and its 100 degrees! I love this venue but take care of your patrons.

Nice place

By Maine L |

This is a nice place for concerts or other shows that has a covered area with seats and a grass and uncovered area where you can take your picnic blankets or chairs. It is in the front of The Woodlands by the new ice rink. It has clean restrooms, several concession stands, the acoustic is good and it is a great place to go with your friends and family.

great place, great performances

By manon r |

This outdoor theater is a great place to see your favorite artists. We normally buy lawn tickets. You can bring a blanket or rent a chair for the night.
The only part I don't like a the very expensive drinks. other than that, a great venue!

Expensive food, avarge seat but loved the concert.

By Cris T |

I went on a Friday night to the Train/Goo goo dolls/Allen concert. I got the tickets in ticket Master. Ticket Master charges more so it was super expensive therefore its better to go there and buy the tickets at the pavilion office. Don't get the seast 30-36 from line F to N in the section 106. it's far from the stage and you will only view the screens unless you have eagle eyes. I kind of hate the rule that people is allowed to stand up. I had to stand up cause the freakin people in the front stood up. The food and drinks are expensive.17 dollars for a 12oz beer , that's crazy. You can get the light beer at the consesion for 5 dllrs. I think it's better if you got a 30 dollar combo in the consesion store. You can also take you Ziploc bag with nuts, chips, any food. Women don't bring backpacks neither big purses. The restrooms were clean. If you are planning to seat in the field you can rent a chair for 7 dollars.

Perfect when weather's nice

By 919angeliaw |

Went to see Duran Duran with girl friends and really enjoyed the concert (April). We sat on the hill which is a nice enough slope that you can see the stage. You can rent a chair for $6 which is convenient but we laid out a tarp and blankets so it was really comfortable. Drinks and merchandise were really expensive (Tshirt $55 Eeks) But plenty of drink and food stands around. Go eat dinner at the mall area first then walk over. The weather was perfect 70-75 and low humidity so it made for a really great night. Some staff are really nice and helpful, others were a bit slow (not qualified). Plenty of restrooms - didn't have to wait very long. Acoustics were actually awesome - the sound was surprisingly good for n outdoor theatre. I would recommend this place for more laid back, easy going concerts.

I traveled to Houston specifically for Trevor Noah’s show and this venue was amazing! We had access to the Woodforest Bank club. The service was awesome (Shout out to Seth!) Our box seats were great and I was grateful that there was enough space between the rows. It wasn’t too tight. It was well covered and the fans were a great touch. I would definitely come back to this venue.

How to start a concert out wrong.

By talinyn |

I arrived at a concert here this summer after doing my due diligence on their website to check permissible items. I took a snack in a quart sized ziplock bag so I didn’t have to pay their outrageous food prices and an empty water bottle so I didn’t have to pay $7 per bottle on a 103 degree day. I also took my crochet project with me to pass the time till the acts i wanted to see came on-stage. All of this fit nicely inside my husband’s messenger bag. I then measured it at the seams and it was 8x11; within the size restrictions on their website.

When I arrived, security stretched the bag out at the zippered top and because the loose seam allowance when stretched out was 1” past the 11” size restriction they disallowed the bag. Never mind that all i had in the bag was within the permissible items listed in their site. it was cited by their management as a safety concern. If they have searched my bag and it contains nothing concerning, how is a 1” piece of fabric to make room for a zipper at the top a safety concern? I think it had nothing to do with safety and everything to do with being more concerned with the “letter of the law” than the reason they are giving for it.

So instead of happily crocheting between acts and munching on my banana and chips, I’m fuming and writing this review.

Thank god they have the fans running because I’m melting out here. I read on the website there are misters but they haven’t turned them on and when I called and asked if they were intending to do so, they said they didn’t know. Who cares if your guests have heat stroke in 103 degree heat after all right? Oh and I don’t know if this is par for the course but the only merch booth is at the north gate entrance. I had reservations about buying tickets for an outdoor event in Houston in July to begin with and next time I’ll go with the pessimistic voice on my shoulder. Did it ruin the experience? Yeah, a bit. Once the night starts out like that, it’s hard to recover a hopeful, happy mood.

If you’re considering going to this venue, make sure that any way you turn, twist or stretch your bag, it isn’t bigger than a piece of paper. Also don’t go when it’s hotter than hades. They finally turned on the misters at about 7, they started the music at 4:30 but never mind anyone who wanted to be there to hear the cover bands during the hottest part of the show.

Irritating factor: If you’re heading back to your seat you may only use approved routes to get back to your section. Even if all you need to do is step over a chain to get to your section, sorry, you have to go all the way back up, across, down the stairs, around some concessions, back up the stairs (don’t take any shortcuts that might be less crowded), across and down your section’s aisle. and expect to be stopped at each intersection and halfway down each aisle for a staff person to check your ticket. It’s ridiculous. 6 people checked my ticket before i got back to my seat from the restroom; with the caveat that I took one wrong turn (one check there) and I tried to take the shortest route back to my seat (one check there).

Bathrooms: clean enough.
Concessions: overpriced and unhealthy
Dedicated Water refill stations: (and it’s lukewarm water coming out of it)
Drinking fountains: plenty (on the south gate side at least)
Merch: only by the North gate entrance and no signs to let you know that at the south gate side

The sound cut out completely on one band in the middle of a jam at the end of one of their songs, they muddied it up bad enough on another song that it just sounded like noise and drums, and for the last band you couldn’t hear one of the instruments at all for two whole songs before they fixed it.
I actually like the venue, but I hate their security, sloppy sound crew, and ridiculous rules. I wish I hadn’t gone. I don’t know that I ever want to go back.

Horrible & Dangerous Service

By NorthStar48579773441 |

We sat in section 109 with tickets in hand. My senior citizen girl friend had to go to the bathroom and this guy would not let her walk down the ramp. She had to go down the stairs and she fell. I have it all on video and the local news in Houston requested that I send them the video. It will be airing soon.

Always a good time

You can say that I am a seat snob when it comes to concerts. We always have a great time. The beer lines moved very quickly this trip.
Restrooms we clean and well stocked with soap, towels and toilet paper.
We will return again!

Weekend in the Woodlands!

By Brenda K |

Great venue! Wonderful concerts. Clean and tons of fun. Not an inexpensive evening but worth it imho. Drinks and food are highly priced.. but just know that going in and enjoy! Been here twice and will definitely return. Could use more people at the gate to expedite getting people in, but that’s really the only area I see that could use improvement. Wish it was closer to where we live!

Chris Stapleton concert

By pkbergeron |

This was a sold out concert. With that said, traffic was backed up and people were everywhere. The security people don't like you standing on the seats even though everyone was standing in front of me and I couldn't see (I'm 4'10"!). Hot this time of year and their fans didn't move the air. Great concert though.

RUDE!

By JLolly |

I had a small pack with so few things in it that my keys etc fit in my skirt pocket as did the 100% empty pack. The person checking could see and touch it and feel that it was empty and none of my middle aged friends and I were not hauling in contraband. But it was a slightly nice pack and I could see the wicked power hungry look on her face that she was tired and going to get a free pack and show some other women who really had the power.
So I had two choices: lose my pack or lose out on $100 ticket and the experience of seeing a beloved band. She knew what our choice had to be and told me I had to leave it by the trash can and 'maybe it would be there when we got back.' It wasn't.
I will only go to this hot rip off venue if it's a show I must see! Don't waste your money. It's miserable, no matter where you sit.

Symphony!

By TxAggieAndHisBride |

Attended Symphony Fantastique, with guest conductor Andres Orozco-Estrada on Friday May 20th. The orchestra was wonderful with featured pianist Gabriela Montero. She performed an incredible interpretation of Grieg's piano Concerto, magnificent!! I was surprised the conductor had to address noisy unruly children in the audience (lawn) but he handled it professionally. This should have be promptly handled by ushers or pavilion staff.

I would not recommend eating at the VIP restaurant. Bar food and not very good. Both my husband and I had to leave at intermission because we were ill! Woodlands pavillion? You need a new food vendor!

ZZ Top concert security

By Jose G M |

Concert in the lawn smelled lots of pot. I asked security about that & they said there is nothing they can do & that next time I should sit under the roof area. Some young kids in the lawn, right smelling pot! I did not see uniformed officers. However, security at the entrance was rude while others enter with hidden pot!!!

Eric Church concert

By LIETIE |

We attended the Eric Church concert. It was wonderful. Easy parking near the event with plenty of security. Excellent food. It was the first time we had something other than nachos. Street tacos are a must when you visit.

Great Location

By Swayfox |

Great venue. All seat are great. The acoustics are amazing. The lawn seats are fun, but reserve seats if you want a real view of the stage. Drinks are expensive, but what venue doens't have expensive drinks. Easy to get to with uber or lyft. We stayed at the Woodlands Courtyard on Lake Front. Great hotel. Not too pricey and close.

Grandson's Graduation

By marquezr57 |

We were visiting from the Tampa Bay Area for our grandson high school graduation. There was some concern about the event due to heavy flooding but the initial event was postponed from Wednesday June 1 to June 3. Upon arrival found the facility was an incredible site, although the rains came the ceremony continued on and had the best time. This is an amazing pavilion that gave us s different perspective of events that take place here, enjoy an upcoming event, dong have to worry about being rained out.

Fantastic!

By Elizabeth G |

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is lovely and has wonderful sound, even sitting on the lawn. If you do choose lawn seats, free for many performances, the facility has nice chairs to lend so no need to drag yours along.

FABULOUS OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT

By Gerrie D |

One of the worlds best venues for great entertainment. We are so lucky to have concerts of all genres come to the Pavilion. You can purchase seats under cover and/or lawn seats. Sound systems is wonderful.....Country, Rock, etc. up to and including concerts by The Houston Symphony.....who one evening rocked the Pavillion by doing songs by The Rolling Stones. If you get a chance to experience this facility, do take advantage of it. Bring a blanket and sit on the lawn....its great. Food and Drink also available.

Duran Duran concert

By Cindy G |

Very nice place long lines but you expect that at a concert. Beautiful night had a wonderful time. Looking forward to more concerts in the future.

Great venue!

By Meri N |

We took our two young boys to go see Mumford and Sons at the Pavilion. We had lawn seats which was nice and comfortable and I never felt like someone was trying to sit on us, plenty of space. The concert was amazing and I liked the smaller setting. It made me appreciate the music more. Plus both boys ended falling asleep in the middle of it on the grass. Only down side is once the concert starts it's very hard to navigate to the restrooms and back. Plus everyone stands through the whole concert instead of sitting and enjoying it which meant we had to hold the kids the whole time. It was our first visit so we will know for next time.

Ruined experience by gate persons who couldn’t use common sense

By Mel F |

I was not allowed in with a petite bag to only hold cell phone, ID, card. I called ahead to confirm and the measurements were consistent with tiles. However they used a premade card to measure and denied me but as you can see in picture it is the correct measurement. I explained to Rosalinda that I called ahead and measured. This was also the slowest line of six lines. Now obvious those at this gate had ridiculous argumentative expectations. I’d like to send a picture of it to show the ridiculousness experienced but the form didn’t upload pictures. It ever so slightly was exposed beyond a card they were using. This ridiculousness is absurd! No common sense! My husband had to track back to the vehicle in the heat. I doubt seriously he will ever get me to return to this place! Positive: free parking

Be encouraged tour

We got there early, parkin was tricky but easy to find the venue. Looks nice and new. The concessions were good and getting to our seats was not difficult. We would come back again for another show.

Rob Zombie Meet & Greet

By Dylan R |

Let’s start with it was by far the best experience at a show ever. Besides the fact that we met Rob Zombie the staff was phenomenal in making sure we were taking care of. While we waited it was hot and they made sure everyone had plenty of water! Everywhere we ventured to behind stage was clean and well kept. During the weather delay they made sure the lawn guests got shelter under the pavilion! The sound during the show was like none other for an outside venue. Great place to go with friends or family.

Great concert venue

By Ruthie C |

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is a great venue for concerts. Being near Market Street in The Woodlands it is perfectly situated for a great night out. Plenty of great places to have a meal and cocktail before heading across the street to the venue. Also lots of hotels within walking distance. I prefer the covered seating but the lawn “seating” is a very affordable way to see a great concert. Of course concessions are available, expensive but lots of choice. Staff are friendly and restrooms are plentiful.

Summer Time Concert

By RVSVD |

Venue has plenty of food to purchase. Site is very well layed out. I only wonder, do the celing fans in the concert area work like regular ceiling fans? I was there on 6/26/22 for a concert, it was 98+ degrees with barely a breeze. I noticed the fans rotating counter clock wise, which normally that is for winter use to blow the heat down. Needless to say there were a few people we noticed experiencing heat exhaustion and also one of the band members.
Maybe install some type of fans, water spraying fans, something. Weather here in Texas, in summer time is not forgiving and if having concerts is great, but take care of customers and band members.

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Review

By aghyba |

Finally I was able to see Casting Crowns live with Danny Gokey, what a concert!! Excellent acoustics, great people worshiping God, good food, a beautiful night to worship our Lord. A bit of a walk but it is well organized. I had not gone in a while but an excellent experience overall.

Hall & Oates Concert - Nice Venue and Gesture

By Rwinger |

We purchased lawn seats and were anxious about attending due to the inclement weather (periodic heavy rain). We were pleasantly surprised when the ticket attendants directed us to a location to pick up free ticket upgrades whereby we could sit in the covered seating (towards the back, naturally). It was a fairly packed house, but all people destined for lawn seating were accommodated. This gesture was greatly appreciated, and to top it off, the concert was pretty good too. TWO THUMBS UP.

Woefully inadequate experience experience

By James D |

We were told we would not be. allowed in with our bag of blankets and jackets. Staff personnel are snippy in unhelpful. This place SUCK$!!

Nice venue for concerts

By shmoracle |

Excepting that being open air it is really HOT, it is totally recommendable for watching a lot of first-class shows. There are even some with free seating options, for example a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra last June by the Houston Symphony !

Pavilion

Very spacious area. Has alot of events performances all the year. Options of buying tickets or just carrying ur picnic chairs and taking a back seat are the options. Check online for specific dates on performance

The staff went out of their way to be very rude. The bag policy makes zero sense. Heaven forbid my wife's wallet is longer than 5 inches!

Jim Gaffigan @ CWMP

By Ultimatetutor |

We had seats in section 107. Been a while since i attended an event at the Pavilion, and it was great. Seats were good and the value was pretty good as well.

Concession options are very good, although we only purchased a couple of drinks and some candy.

Several good options to eat prior to the show as well, all within walking distance.

Free parking is close enough, to not be a long exhausting walk back to the car.

Memorable experience

By Ken S |

We visited to attend a Bob Seger concert. This is a fantastic venue and I have to say the quality of the sound and the huge video screens were, I think, the best I’ve heard and seen. The venue is partly covered and it gave the gig a bit of a festival vibe. The night of the gig there was a horrendous electric storm and the gig was almost cancelled but thankfully they deemed it safe to start about 9.30pm and we enjoyed a truly memorable night of music.

Great venue for outdoor concerts. Recommend covered seats unless you are on a tight budget and are ok with lawn seats. Best views covered in the middle section. Many special local symphony events offer free lawn. Check website.

Special Times!

From a sunrise Easter service to a performance of John Williams songs and everything in between, this venue has it all! Good seats from every angle and they have perfected sitting on the lawn by providing lawn chairs upon arrival.

As Hot as Houston in July

By S6073CQcatherinec |

We enjoyed hearing REO Speedwagon and Chicago at the Pavilion. Parking was easy. We arrived early so as to avoid a time crunch going through security. We were seated in the covered seats about seven rows from the stage. It was hot. It was really really hot. Occasionally some of the air conditioning from the stage would waft over, and that was nice. I think I will wait for cooler weather to return. The venue and music was great. I just can't handle the heat.

Great place for a concert!

By melirouge |

We took our group of teenagers for a concert at this location. Although it was mid summer, the fans and seating made it comfortable. We were about 10 rows from the stage and the performers were very visible and we could hear them clearly. There are clean bathrooms and food/beverage vendors throughout the pavilion. We really enjoyed the show and would return to see another.

Fun venue

By LaurieTEX |

I have attended several events at The Pavilion - free and ticketed. The Houston Ballet was free and very enjoyable. The Houston Symphony has also had free concerts that are outstanding. The seating is first come, first serve and I have always been able to get great seats.

The ticketed event was Derek and Julieanne Hough. While it was very hot, being under the canopy and blowers going, it was very comfortable.

The sound quality has always been good and everything I have been to had a big screen TV.

Fantastic venue!

By Janet P |

Concerts at the Pavilion are definitely one of the best things to do in the area. The acoustics are fantastic and it is easy to get in and out, even with crowds. Recommend getting an actual seat over lawn seats as the view and sound are a bit better.

Great facility! Goo Goo Dolls Concert

By Claudia Lemus Campos |

Beautiful facility and impressive displays, but definitely be prepared to handle the heat in the summer. Despite there being large fans, they don’t really help you cool as they have them on the low setting. Would have appreciated them being on the medium speed. We really enjoyed the Goo Goo Dolls concert and will definitely go again to a concert there but in the fall or spring as it’s too hot. One thing to note also is their strict bag policy. Make sure to review the rules very carefully as the parking is not nearby and you don’t want to be turned away because of an oversized purse. They will not hold your purses so you’re looking at at least 1/4 of a mile of walking to and from your car (depending on which lot you park at it may be more).

Fall fun

By PrecciousRubies |

The Pavillion is nice in the cooler weather with the open sky as your covering, and the stars light up in the night over head.
The place is fun and wide open, especially, on the lawn portion of the Pavillion. When under the covered portion for any event, sit in the first few rows otherwise you will not see much. I have been to many events here, and I enjoyed it each time. It is usually an easy parking and walking situation. The surrounding community of shops, eatery, and parks are inviting.

Great Concert!

By TexasBuffettFan |

We were at the Jimmy Buffett concert on Thursday night. We had seats 5 rows back behind the pit. We had a great view of the stage. The pavilion was clean and well maintained.

Great Venue, Always Have an Amazing Time!

By Hannah M |

My husband and I have been here five times and each time has been exceptional. No matter what seat you have you always see and hear perfectly.
I would recommend during Summer concerts, to sit on the lawn. There is way better air circulation, due to open space and less people crammed together.
What I love most is the ease of getting to the venue/parking. It is always a breeze and never stressful. I also love the variety of events. In Texas there tends to be an overbearing amount of one genre of music and Cynthia Woods Pavilion really shakes it up!

Nice venue but needs cup holders!

By LakeLizard |

We really liked this venue. Our seats were in section 101, row BB, and we had a great view of the show. The seats were covered and we only had to deal with the sun briefly as it was going down. My only complaint is that there are no drink holders. Who doesn’t have drink holders? It was inconvenient and I had to chase down my water bottle that got knocked over and rolled 2 rows down. And at $7 a bottle, I wasn’t letting it go! Food and drinks are definitely pricey, and there’s not a lot of variety. But we arrived early, found free parking on the street, and ate at a sports bar across the street from the pavilion. Parking does seem to be a bit of an issue, but again, we arrived early (not knowing the parking situation and fearing the worst) and were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely go back again.

Saw Jimmy Buffett In June

By TexasBuffettFan |

This place is just consistently awesome. Not a bad seat in the place. Plenty of food and concession stands on both sides of the pavilion. Restrooms never seem to be too crowded, even during sold out events. Security also keeps people out of the seats they didn't pay for.

Great facility

By Charles V |

We recently attended a concert at this venue it’s easy to get into the ceiling is comfortable the acoustics are great at the prices are very affordable this is highly recommended

Communication could be better

By St_Matty |

Went to see Poison the other night. Cheap Trick were on as well and i enjoyed the show a lot. Prices for food and drink were high but you come to expect that. When we go there we discovered there had been a change in Bag Policy and my wife's bag was not allowed in, so i had to take it back to the car and queue again before we could enter. I'm fine with that and i know security at these events is paramount. My issue is that there was an email sent informing me of this change but sent only 4 hours before we left for the venue, i had been working that day so had not had time to check my emails, as i believe was the case for other people as well as there were quite a few being turned away. If there was a change why wasn't we informed earlier to avoid this.

What a fun night out!!!

By Bt119DP |

I have been to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion many times and I am never disappionted. Its a great location with resturants and bars within walking distance. Grab dinner beforehand and then head over to your concert. The drinks inside can be a little pricey but thats what you expect with a venue like this. The staff are always friendly and the restrooms clean. Whatever music you may be listening to you are sure to enjoy the great atmosphere.

Nice Venue to Have A Concert Here

By FayeBee |

I can't believe that I haven't review this venue yet!

The first thing is what to bring. Due to security, only 8.5" x 11" bags are allowed in the venue. Just be happy that they let you in with one because they are some venues that don't allow bags at all. I usually bring a rain jacket that converts into windbreaker. The pockets are big enough to keeps 2 concert t-shirts in one, and other necessities (e.g., earplugs, phone charger, etc) in the other.

The second thing that's it's an outdoor venue. Seriously, I don't why people complain about that. We know we have a mosquito problem; that's why it's smart to spray Off all over yourself before arriving. And, if you're sitting on the lawn, don't forget to bring a rain jacket, especially during the Summer, or Spring months because you never know when a cloud will burst open, and cry. LOL! That's why I try to buy seats under the covering; of course, the price has to be reasonable.

And lastly, the others. I haven't been to the Lounges, yet! The bathroom facilities are okay; yes, there will be a hella long line for us ladies, but be patient. The line seems to go quicker once you start talking to a fellow concertgoer. i rarely drink alcohol at concerts because I usually partake of a pre-concert dinner somewhere else. I do order bottled water; got to stay dehydrated properly. Oh, be courteous, and tip the employees who are selling you the drinks. The t-shirts vendors are usually very awesome: courteous and friendly!

Will I ever come back to the venue? Of course, because you never know when an artist will ever make the trip further South to Houston to perform.

Disappointed

By Carmida R |

Venue is average. Any seat is a good seat. Lawn seats have lawn chairs which is plus. Food is poor and pricey. Eat before you go, save your money and go to a restaurant. Beer is $13.50 Way over priced! Older staff are helpful and friendly. Bathrooms are clean.

This is an awesome place to be for a concert. My wife and I loved it. The stage and tvs make even the worse seats look good. Their are of corse drawbacks like the expensive food and drinks. Over the past 2 years I've been going to see and enjoy music leyends such as Def Lepard, Brian Adams, Duran Duran and Journey.
Arriving there is really easy, enough parking lots and a great environment when the concert starts.
It's fresh, it's cozy and it's perfect for your ears.

Great outdoor venue

Covered seating is worth it, rained for 2.5 hours prior to Bob Seger. Not every seat has a good view of the stage. Memorial on big screen was not on the two side screens, so we missed out on some of that. Great sound IMO. Food and Drink is priced as you would expect. Bathrooms clean, plenty of staff, and overall a great experience.

A real circus atmosphere with all the different food and beverage vendors plus you are under an actual big top circus tent. Great seats with sight lines straight to the stage. i was there this past weekend and was not that happy with the place. the food was over priced and the seat was not comfortable. for the price i paid, i should have some type of cushion. the sound was not what i am use to when going to outdoor concert either.

This is a great mid sized outdoor concert venue located at the entrance to the Woodlands. Sound quality is great and all the non-stadium groups play here. Lots of great pre-show restaurants located at market street and woodlands mall. It seems the most fun people get the lawn seats. Always a great time.

Loved this venue

By Rachelbly77 |

My husband and I drove from Thibodaux LA to the Woodlands to see the Goo Goo Dolls at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Sept 8th. The venue was open air but they had a HUGE tent like covering. There were tons of bathroom stalls in the bathrooms. It wasnt air conditioned but it had ventilation. There were many beverage and food vendors there. The workers were very friendly and helpful. It is easy to get to and surrounded by a pretty park.

Memorable amazing venue!

By J M |

This has got to be the most lovely event / concert venue I've ever been to. The Woodlands is aptly named because the drive to the pavilion was like driving through a forest, there were restaurants, shops, gas stations hidden among the trees. There was no charge for parking, and the parking was configured in multiple lots so despite the thousands of people there at the event you didn't feel like they were all parked within 1000 feet of your vehicle. Once again, there were wooded paths approaching the pavilion revealing a beautiful lake where one could rent boats and picnic facilities that would make for an excellent pre-concert "tailgate" alternative to enjoy the breathtaking setting. Once the sun went down the trees were lit up with white lights, capping off the fairy tale experience.

The pavilion itself was clean and had a mixture of reserved and grass seating. Another nice feature was the lawn chairs available for rental ($6/chair if memory serves). It was a humid evening, but the fans did help cool things off and once the sun went down it improved dramatically.

Excellent venue if you don't go in the middle of the Texas brutal summer. This concert was in August but we were blessed with some rain and cloud coverage which made the heat more bearable.

Cynthia Mitchell holds variety of concerts all year round. Parking is no problem. You can choose to sit in covered area with assigned seats or on the lawn-either bring your own blanket or rent a chair from the venue. Sound system is great. Place is well kept. Great place to enjoy a show

By avirtualcfo |

ZZ Top concert with Bad Co and Cheap Trick was great! Every seat in the house is a good one unless you’re on the lawn and it starts raining. The venue is great with the only complaint being the time it gets through some of the security gates. Some take an extraordinary amount of time to pass through even with purse searches et al.

Clean and organized

By Jennifer M |

Came here for a concert with my teenager and it was a good experience. We arrived early and they had staff offering areas for us to sit down in the air conditioning with cold water. The gates opened promptly and were very well staffed. We found our seats easily and they had staff throughout the venue. I think because they had a large and helpful stuff the experience was a good one. They have 2 large screens to see the stage if necessary as well.

Great Venue

By lovz2trvl |

Went to see Lynard Skynard here it was a great outside venue. Lots of drink options and covered area is close to amenities. The line ups for bathrooms were crazy at times but there were a lot of people so I guess it couldn't be helped.

It sells more tickets than any outdoor pavilion.

The Houston Symphony performs frequently. Many famous bands and musicians perform there. I saw Celline Dionne perform. The symphony is free if you sit on your blanket on the lawn!
The Woodlands is a very cool place to visit with great restaurants and a waterway.

5 Seconds of Summer

We had so much fun! It was August in southeast Texas....so it was hot. The concert was fantastic, we loved every minute of it. Wish there were more fans to circulate the air & keep everyone a little cooler.

Live music, place attract more and more artists over last a few years. Parking is only issue and traffic during events. They are still growing to improve and attract more world wide known artists.

Please be aware of “medical/diaper” bag

By Mbernstein |

Very bad experience with last concert. Please if you have medical issues do not assume they will allow a medical bag as stated on their site. I did the research and failed. Showed then my medical records, even had confirmation from messaging Facebook site. Missed the concert I wanted to see. No accommodation for missing the concert. Main concern was supposedly my bag which my neck pillow for cervical dystonia (compared to Parkinson’s) filled entirely. Highly discriminating! Message to pavilion: Please remove the medical bag option off your site. Provide your own “medical/diaper” bags at the medical booth so you don’t discriminate who needs what. Thanks

Fun but very hot

I attended a show last night and had a blast. The venue is nice and relaxed. Just the right size to have great views of the stage from most seats. My only gripe was the heat. I wish there were more shade on summer days and more fans to keep the crowd cool..other than that, it's a nice venue.

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers & Joe Walsh Concert

Great Concert - Great venue. Great for adults - would not recommend for children.

T-Shirts for the event were the most expensive I have seen anywhere, $40 and up. Concession prices were comparable to theme parks, sporting venues, etc..pricey but not too bad.

Best outdoor venue anywhere!

Whether “rock or Bach”, the Pavilion delivers. Great restaurants and hotels within walking distance as well to make it a perfect weekend getaway.

Great outdoor venue

We love the Mitchell Pavilion for concerts. It has the variety of reserved seating as well as festival seating on the grass lawn.
The acoustics are great and the jumbo screens help to see the artists up close.

Unorganized mess to even get in

By mmmartin70TX |

Disappointed from the outside, only my kid and her friend made it inside. The twisting lines, people that worked there not knowing what was going on, no water stations or water for sale in 100+ blazing sun and people were passing out. I felt bad to leave my daughter there for a concert, she said it was fine once inside. Take plenty of water if warm out, you can take a bottle inside to refill, which was nice.

Great venue

This venue is great for an outdoor event for anyone who enjoys being outside and doesn't mind a couple hours of heat and humidity before sunset. On the down side, the vendors' pricing is very steep, esp. for beer & wine. The wine is 6X more expensive than what I pay in Kroger. I don't mind paying 3 to 4 times more, but 6 is ridiculous.

Overpriced drinks...stifling hot

By BiffleYouRock |

So summer in Houston may not be the best time to go to a concert here. Lawd it's hot painfully hot!!! Needs misters and oscillating fans placed through out the venue, the large overhead fans are worthless !!

Entering the venue you are patted down like a prisoner, pockets turned out, clothes pulled tight against your body, only thing they don't have you do is squat and cough!! All while waiting in the stifling heat.

Beers are 10$, water is 5$---highway robbery!! You can refill your water bottle from the water fountains but it tastes like swamp water.

Security can be overbearing yelling at us for standing where we had been already standing for 30 mins but letting others stand there later on.

The show was awesome the venue not so much!!!
