Beautiful lake. You can always find a nice calm cove for skiing. Spent many summers vacationing here with family and friends.

If you're headed to Dale Hollow lake to rent a houseboat, you need to look no further than at East Port Marina. These folks know how to do things right. I think we made phone calls at least once a week for a year asking different questions, and about every other day the month of our trip. They never got impatient with us and were always very helpful in answering our questions. Even their support staff that help load the boats, clean the boats, and help you with anything else you would need were all very friendly and willing to do whatever they could to help you out. We rented the Stardust from them for a week which is an 80' houseboat. Having never driven a boat before it was nice that they went over things with us, and then even road out of the dock with us for a few miles to make sure we got the hang of things and some tips for how to drive the boat. As for the week on the boat it was nice that they provided corn hole boards on the boat. They had a hot tub on the top deck which was included at no extra charge. Most marinas will add a fee if you want to use the hot tub. The kitchen on our boat also included a full size refrigerator with freezer, a full size stove, and a nice over the stove microwave. Couple things to plan on taking. Paper plates (who wants to do dished on vacation), some dish clothes, plenty of beverages, two-way radios (nice to be able to communicate with the top deck without having to climb the stairs), binoculars (lots of nice sights to see). The other thing that we couldn't have done without is the bass boat we rented from East Port. This allowed us to go out and check out sites to tie up to ahead of time and make sure the depths would be good enough to get the boat in. You can travel in it about 20-25mph vs 5mph in the houseboat. If ever back in this area again I would definitely use this marina. The owners are amazing and understand how to treat people.

Be very careful doing any business at this marina. They will nickel and dime you and try to charge you for things that they should not.

Dale Hollow Lake is a beautiful lake, we camped at Lillydale campground the week of August 5-12, in our r.v. we had site 26, which there were some trees blocking the view of the lake, but most sites you can see some part of the lake, site 28 and 29 are the best sites,(lakefront),you can see different angles of the lake, 55-67 are also beautful sites, we stayed one night at 55, very nice, a very nice and clean park setting, showers and restrooms are very clean, always someone early in the mornings cleaning them, park attendent is friendly and nice, grass was a little long when we first got there, almost to long to walk our dogs, but they cut it 3 days after we were there. When we come back to Dale Hollow Lake, lillydale campground will always be where we go, really enjoyed ourselves.

We took our 5th wheel to Sulphur Creek Resort on the Kentucky side of Dale Hollow. It was our first time and we did not know what to expect. The RV area was tight but level. It was shaded and the temps were much lower in the valley we were in. There is little to no cell service, but isn't that what you should expect out in seclusion? It was beautiful. The lake was huge and you could see the fish swimming with water so clear. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina and spent the day fishing in the coves and just enjoying the scenery. Fellow campers told us that their group has been coming to this resort for 20 years, a story we heard from more than one group.
Every morning the resort basically emptied out as groups left on their boats. We were told that their are numerous marinas that serve alcohol and food, and they spend their days tubing and visiting from marina to marina. The lake covers areas of Kentucky and Tennessee with the dam being over 40 miles on water from our resort. This explains the giant boats!
My husband loved it. We were there in July and it was cool enough at night for a fire. A treat for us Texans who are used to 110 degree days in July!
There are no restaurants close by, other than the floating restaurant at the marina. We ate there once, it was ok.
The roads into the resort and around the lake are very winding and steep. It could be scary for you if you're not expecting it.
The resort was full, so make a reservation if you're trying to go during summer. The staff is all very nice and the resort was quiet at night, so it was very relaxing.

We have went to Dale Hollow about 5 times in the past 7 years. and have a blast. We always rent a houseboat from Hendricks Creek Resort. They have several options for most budgets. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The lake is wonder to swim and just relax. Houseboats have slides on them which is always fun. The lake is clean. You don't have a lake smell on you when you get out. Even my long hair still feels clean after I have been in the water. We always take water toys and floats with us. The best thing is phone service is hit and miss so I don't have to be bothered by my phone. I'm on vacation not to be attached to a phone. Lots of wildlife. Deer, birds and we usually get a visit from some ducks looking for a handout. We like to duck back in a cove so we aren't bothered with the waves from the boats running on the lake. We also fish but the most important thing is relax. No place to be, wear your swimsuit all day nap if you so desire. highly recommend Hendricks Creek Resort. Very affordable nice boats.

We have been vacationing on this lake for 21 years, not a years skipped! It is safe to say we absolutely love this body of water. I can speak for all the family in saying it is a wonderful place to go!! The atmosphere on the lake is inviting & super hospitable. We have many places that we love from the coves on the lake to the marinas & the great people we know there! The water itself is quite clean & in late July warm as well! We enjoy water sports very much but we do not fish. I want to encourage all to visit because it is such lovely place!

For the fourth of July our family of 8 rented a house boat from Waterway Adventure. The 84 ft Bigfoot 2 was plenty of room and more! The amenities were very nice. ( we were able to do our laundry for the week, relax in the hot tub, kids played on the slide, grilled and relaxed on the upper deck!) The boat was very clean, had nice new appliances and the sectional in the living room was nice and comfortable after a long day in the sun! The boat itself had everything you need to make breakfast lunch or dinner as far as utensils are concerned! ( small appliances are covered too! daquaris and margarittas a plenty!)

The water and lake area: very clean and spacious. Boats were not on top of one another..especially for a holiday! The firework display at the marina was outstanding and the kiddos thoroghly enjoyed it! The staff that piloted the boat in to dock was exceptional! The marina had a decent selection of last minute items that we some how left behind or did not want to pack! ( beer run....priced very reasonbly/cold and replacement sunglasses at 6.99...what a steal)

rented a ski boat one day and played and tubed all day! very fun!! got to enjoy the coves and marinas better this way! The big foot 2 is quite a lot to navigate.

over all great place to visit- well maintained and lotts of friendly people to help answer questions you may have. A great place to meet up with family or friends and share the costs of a great week or long weekend of fun in the sun!

We have spent the last 3 Labor Day weekends on Dale Hollow with my sister and her fiance'. We have a small place we stay at each year, and I will intentionally not mention the name in an effort to keep it one of the lake's best kept secrets. There are a ton of places to see on the lake. We enjoy touring the marinas on jet skis, gawking at all the huge houseboats. One of the largest houseboats, "Anchors Aweigh" was docked at Sunset Marina last year, and the owners were kind enough to give us a tour after bringing people back from a trip. Nice folks, and a great houseboat with captain and cook included. Just south of Sunset Marina is a popular spot to watch cliff divers. South from there, the water gets smoother and is a real treat from Sunset Marina to East Port Marina. The lake is large enough to spend several days on the water enjoying the coves, marinas and parks. We always make a point to pack a lunch, find a private cove with a beach, and enjoy sandwiches or hotdogs on the water's edge. There's a good Mexican Restaurant in Albany, Ky., about 15 min from Sunset Marina. Johns Restaurant has breakfast and dinner buffets.

My husband and I went out fishing 3 different times from Friday to Saturday and enjoyed our time fishing. We caught our limit Friday night of 14 rainbow trout. Caught some large and small mouth bass also. Different fishing then we were used too, but enjoyed our time and caught fish

We arrive at Dale Hollow Marina at 10:30 AM on Saturday of a holiday weekend (we are from out of town, 5.5 hours away). We had a pontoon and a double decker pontoon rented for our 14 boaters, ready for a day of fun on the lake. Upon our arrival, the marina staff let us know that the double decker's motor broke down yesterday and it wouldn't be ready until around noon. No one from the marina called us to let us know that they wouldn't be able to accommodate our large group until later in the afternoon. They promised to call when it was ready - and that phone call didn't come until 2:00 pm. We understand that boats break down all the time, all we would've appreciated is a phone call out of courtesy so we could plan other activities. When returning the single pontoon around 5, Denny refused to give any type of compensation for our troubles. We are annual customers and explained that we wouldn't be bringing our business back here again. Denny told us that he didn't care - they have plenty of business and don't need us. While trying to calmly discuss compensation in an adult-like manner, one of the lady staff members threatened my boyfriend and threw her hands on him. Nothing physical was ever initiated on our end. A day that should have been fun with family turned into a day of stress and being treated rudely and disrespectfully from the Dale Hollow marina staff.

We rented the Stardust for seven days! The boat was beautiful but had many things on it that did not work, for such an amazing boat you would think they would take more care in fixing issues, the stereo on the upper deck did not work as well as the rope lighting, the stereo downstairs would not come in on any station as well as the faceplate kept falling off. One of the restrooms the sink would not drain good. The refridgerator door would not open up all the way due to the island table being too long. All the bedspreads are very stained and soiled, I would suggest you bring your own blankets, and all the cushions on the Bar stools on the upper deck are soiled very badly. For such a beautiful boat it definitely could use a little TLC. Other then that it was a great week and Dale Hollow lake was superb.

For a family vacation this year we rented a Houseboat on Lake Dale Hollow located on the Tennessee & Kentucky border. We had 12 passengers on this vacation 7 Adults, 5 children ages 7 to 11 years old. The houseboat was 74 foot long with 6 Queen size bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a shower/tub the second bathroom with a shower. Full kitchen with table seating for 12. Living room came with a huge sectional couch that also held a Queen bed. Front deck & Top Covered deck had tables & Chairs. A slide was attached to the back deck of the boat, stairs going to the top deck. The lake was very clean, water was warm since our trip stared on July 4 for 7 days. Swimming every day... with lots of float time to relax and soak up the sun. We soon discovered that the holding tank for waste water filled pretty quickly (Kids might have added to the problem since the toilets were electric push button flush) We returned to the rental dock about every 2-3 days. Difficult to calculate fuel costs. Separate Fuel tanks for Engine as well as Generator (Power plant for A/C-Heat, Electric Stove/Oven, Fridge, Sat TV, Sat Radio as well as Lights). It would have been nice if the boat came with a ladder on the front to make it easier to climb down when tying up for dockage at night (Nose into the shore and tie ropes to anchor points/trees) Perhaps a ladder up front would have caused a problem for those who forget to retract it when leaving your dockage locations each day. I would rate this Vacation a complete and total Success !!! Yes I would do it again for sure... in stead of selecting an amusement park where all family members scamper off to stand in long lines waiting for their turn to ride... we selected a together vacation that was FUN filled with swimming, fishing, sunning and chowing down on family favorite foods.

The lake is huge and you can get lost easily, so take a map. We got turned around and luckily Google maps actually worked while we were on the boat and we got our bearings again! It is a beautiful lake and we would love to spend more time on it.

Mostly because of the cabin (7) we stayed in. The cabin listed nice patio furniture, and there was nothing there besides some flimsy chairs.Sun beat down into the cabin because no decent shades or awning. Obnoxious cheap lighting, no ceiling fans, place stayed 75-77 degrees with the air conditioned that didn't work., because there were only few floor vents. No soaps, Kleenex, toilet paper holder was broken so paper sitting on floor, toilet runs loud after flush...No ice trays, refrigerator did not get cold, Internet SUCKED, squeaky bathroom door, tables next bed were cheap, bad lighting, dangerous death shower, no towel hooks in kitchen with the cheapest kitchen utensils on earth. Cold "feeling" do to lack of pictures on walls. ONLY positives is that the beds were okay, clean sheets and a nice view.

The restaurant with a view, golf course, camp ground - and the lake is to die for. What a great place if you like the water.

We stayed at Big Sky Estates in Beary Nice Cabin through Dale Hollow cabin fever rentals. The cabin was in the hills and many of my friends became car sick. The cabin was nice and quiet. Beside the hot tub not working properly no complaints in that area. Everything was kind of far from our cabin an hour round trip just to go to Walmart. It rained the entire time so we were unable to go to the Sunset Marina where we had the boat rented. We heard it was the nicest of the dale hollow marinas. I would rather camp next time than to rent a cabin its alot of work.

We rented a double decker pontoon boat from Eastport Marina and had a great day on the water, it rained off and on and we went in early because a storm came in, but we had a great time. The kids and I enjoyed going down the slide into the lake and swimming. We took lunch with us, cooked hotdogs on the gas grill that is on the boat and had chips, and such. There is a huge cooler on the boat also. The pontoon was big enough for all 12 of us. We didn't have any luck fishing, but there were 6 people playing in the water most of the time and it was hot that day.

This lake is where I want to be on a hot day in spring / summer or a cooler autumn day in fall. It is so clean that you have great visibility underwater. Being a shale bottom deep lake keeps the water clean and beautiful. Boat docks for the most part are clean, sale gas, food, and merchandise. Since the lake is large, boat traffic is usually not a problem and there are countless coves to anchor in for a quiet secluded swim away from others and boat traffic. The perfect place for fun and relaxation. I love it! Large and small mouth bass are the fish most fishermen catch here.

I'm really disappointed in the way this park handles the grounds & their guests.
We have been camping here for a very, very long time, but recently things have gotten very unorganized & unprofessional.
The campground pool was closed yesterday in 100° temps for maintenance. A few of us went over to the lodge pool, there were no guests at that pool, we called & asked permission (even though that pool is still located on the same resort grounds). We were told no, we couldn't swim there, it was for lodge guests only. Even though the pool was empty, the campground pool was closed for maintenance & we are paying guests at the resort itself.
Just extremely disappointed in this resort & how they are treating their guests. I understand things happen & things come up, which is why you should be open to taking a different approach to things & treating your guests with the utmost respect & appreciation - after all, they are why you have a job.

Spent 3 nights for a long weekend get a way at one of the Corp of Engineers Campgrounds on beautiful Dale Hollow Lake. The Corp of Engineers did an excellent job of making a lake trip most enjoyable. One of the cleanest lakes in Tennessee with water visibility down to abound 10 feet. Nicely thought out lake access with attractive and secure amenities to please every family member from the boat ramp, to camp sites, to the designated swimming area with a sand beach. We paddle boarded, fished from kayaks and swam in the clear water and stayed in one of the nicest campgrounds with a very beautiful view of the perfect sunrise and sunset.

My husband and I finally made the trip to Dale Hollow lake and we are in love. We have been to several lakes in Kentucky and Tennessee and none compare to the beauty and quiet on Dale Hollow. There are several places to stay but we enjoyed Dale Hollow State Park on the Kentucky side. There are several places to rent boats including enormous house boats. Lots of fun plan a visit!

We stayed at East Port Marina at Dale Hollow Lake when we visited- to do the Sgt York shoot. Dale Hollow Lake is beautiful.
But - I was very disappointed with the particular cabin we stayed in at East port marina! We (me,my husband, 13 yr son & 10 yr daughter) so excited when we got there. The cabins looked really neat! They were nice to look at - but WOW- when we went in - it was rather a musty, mildew smell. Upstairs wasn't too bad! But, the downstairs bathroom was horrendous ! We specifically stayed here because it had a hot tub & jacuzzi tub. But, we didn't get to use either. The hot tub would not get hot & the bathroom with the jacuzzi tub smelled so bad I could barely stand to go in it much less go in the jacuzzi tub for any amount of time!! It did have a washer/dryer combo in it. Had a full kitchen - BUT - no towels or wash clothes. I did email east port marina - but got no response! We were charged the full rate also! The man there had no authority to do anything. Dale hollow is beautiful - just be cautious renting a cabin through East Port Marina! Know exactly what they have & what u need to bring. And make sure it doesn't stink & all the "amenities" actually work & can be used !
And know that if u are traveling to Jamestown or pallmall tn the roads are horribly curvy!
I also visited Pickett state park in the area - this was a great place to visit. Should have stayed there. Roads aren't as bad also !

This is a very nice place to take the family on vacation, especially if you have a boat. The lake runs from Kentucky into Tennessee, and easy to get lost it's so large. We stayed on the Kentucky side at Sulphur Creek Resort and had a fantastic time. The water is clear and warm and the resort had cabins, camper hookups, gas, and a restaurant and bar. We will be going back next year.

Wow Dale Hollow Dave put us on lots of fish even in August. Other guides told us they don't fish in June July and August. We caught 9 Small mouth, 2 large catfish, two large mouth bass and one walleye. We loved catching all those species. These fish were really nice. Dave is fun and relaxed and enjoyable to spend the day with. He takes you out on the beautiful lake for 8 hours. So many guide rush you on and off the lake. Dale Hollow Lake water was so warm and clear. You can see so far down. The Corp if Engineers did a great job designing this lake. Just know going in that Dale Hollow Dave makes you throw back all small mouth bass because people come here to fish these smallies. We felt we should be able to keep the state maximum and should have been told ahead of time we had to release all small mouth bass.

Enjoyed an amazingly relaxing day by the swinging bridge. Lots of places to sit on the rocks and bank. Flat areas offer wonderful places for blankets and pinic items. I would suggest wearing aqua shoes due to the decent down to the water involves stepping on large rocks. They're not required but helpful. Overall i loved it and can't wait to return.

We were told by the park ranger how good the food would be here, so we loaded up and drove down, the place was beautiful, the staff was very friendly, but the food wasn't as all it was cracked up to be, the coalslaw head green peppers in it, a little different from my
taste, but again as I said, the place was beautiful and the staff was very friendly.

A great place to rent a houseboat and enjoy the pristine waters of Dale Hollow Lake. 650 miles of shoreline, 61 miles long. 15 marina's to rent houseboats or cabins. Very affordable

One of the employees was very rude and flipped us off as he passed us on the road. How dare him take a hand off the wheel, while he's driving 90 mph with a trailer.

Just returned from 3 day camping trip with family at Dale Hollow Dam Site in Celina Tn. First experience staying at a Corps of Engineers campground. The camp sites were large, flat, and had water and electric at each site. The campground was quiet, well mowed, and the campers friendly. You better make reservations because it's a popular fishing spot You can make reservations at Dale Hollow Dam Site and it will direct you to recreations .com. Don't confuse this with Dale Hollow State Park that is about 15 miles away in Kentucky. You can walk or drive across the dam that sits on the Obey River

Wisdom Marina is located at the perfect spot on Dale Hollow Lake.
The Marina puts you right out on the main body. Location, Location and Location may be simple but sometimes the main attraction of a destination is simply the Location. The secluded spot up Illwill creek has a beautiful Blue Heron Nesting spot and in the early spring the young chicks hatch. Looking forward to the Eagle Cam to be installed with the help of donations and Marina Association donations.

Dale Hollow is a great lake. Beautiful scenery and not too busy. We had a pontoon boat and there were so much coves to go to for privacy to swim. We stayed at Holly Creek marina in a cottage. I highly recommend a place to go for a weekend or a week.

Had heard this was a great park with miles of horse trails. We made the 1 1/2 hr drive, had to stop and the camp store to find the trail head. The directions to the trailering site was never listed. After getting horses saddled and map in hand we headed out. It was a Lewis and Clark expedition. Trails poorly marked, had to keep recircling to find out where we missed a marker. Our plans was the Ranger's loop, we never got to loop, lost markers, and had to try and retrace hoof prints back to parking site. The forest was lovely with the fall colors, but spent so much time looking for markers, did not get to enjoy natures beauty. Maybe it was just us, but had a seasoned trail rider with us, and she was not impressed , either.

When we visited the water was colder than average. We didn't catch fish until day 7. Was very disappointed with trip over all.

Rented one of their two 64' houseboats for five days over Labor Day Weekend 2016, and was satisfied with both the boat and the marina. It is necessary to understand what to expect to avoid any disappointment. First the good: The marina staff was VERY friendly, professional, and accommodating. I could offer many examples. It is a "mom & pop" (family and friends) operation. I believe they fully delivered the product they advertised and I was not oversold. Why average rating: I found the marina to be "tired" and the shoreline/parking lot to be reflective of a maintenance yard. The office/store was very basic and lacked much in the way of provisions. The houseboat was about 25 years old, although very well maintained and performed adequately. The single small issue was resolved quickly by a phone call (after hours) to the marina owner. If you are looking for a new and shining establishment with a new fleet of rentals and a fully stocked store for provisions ... you will be very disappointed. If you are okay with a "dated" marina with a friendly, helpful staff that will get you out on the lake and help solve any issues ... you will do just fine.

We rented a cabin from East Port Marina on Dale Hollow Lake for a long overdue long weekend getaway. I cannot say enough about how wonderful these folks were. The cabin was incredible and pet friendly. Our cabin was secluded and so peaceful we were able to hide and relax. We were arriving in the middle of the night and they made arrangements that allowed us to easily slide into the cabin after midnight. When we woke up one morning with a flat tire, they sent someone up to fix it within 5 minutes of our call. The marina sells hot homecooked breakfast and lunch that would have made your granny proud! We will definitely return this summer for our family vacation and I highly recommend you contact them.

My husband and I stayed at the Beary Nice cabin. I paid for two nights as it was a last minute birthday surprise getaway for my husband. This was a very bad idea! This place is in the middle of NOWHERE! The cabin was gorgeous and clean, but we had very bad experiences here! First of all, this place is so isolated! There is no phone in the cabin and no cell phone service. We were not told about the dogs that evidently hang around there...I went out on the balcony alone to see if I could hear the radio out there, as I stepped outside without turning on the porch light, I heard clawing on the porch which scared me to death! While trying to get back inside...I broke my toe! It was the dogs...when I turned on the light, they stayed on the porch and laid down. So the rest of the night, we had to stay indoors due to the dogs, we didn't know if they were nice or not. Sometimes we would hear the dogs growling and fighting (don't know if they were after a possum or something else)...this was also very disturbing, how could we possibly sleep there with the dogs growling and barking all night? While the dogs were off chasing something, we quickly grabbed our belongings and threw them in the truck and left as soon as possible! We spent a total of 7 hours there! We were terrified! While we were leaving the dogs caught up to us and ran by the truck until we reached the secondary road leading to the way out. We drove three hours home to Bowling Green, KY that night in dense fog!

We rented a 50' houseboat from Sunset Marina and from the moment we walked in to the building I knew right away this was going to be a great trip! Being greeted right away from every one to the easy paperwork followed by the staff unloading our cars and loading everything on the boat was simply amazing! The boat was so clean and well furnished along with a detailed operations manual to a well explained usage of EVERYTHING from the staff got us under way on our own in about an hour and 15 minutes!
The lake is so beautiful and easy to navigate! The scenery and weather and scenery was breathtaking! We found so many areas to "beach" the houseboat and have a nice campfire at night time. Fishing was wonderful and going off the slide to diving off the upper deck in clean refreshing water was so fun!

In closing Sunset Marina's equipment and VERY helpful, knowledgeable, and FREINDLY staff started off and ended our vacation with a huge thumbs up! Reservations already made for 2014!!!

We just got back from our trip to Dale Hollow and it was amazing! We went with friends (12 adults and children ranging from 1-15 years old). The lake is beautiful! We would just find a spot and anchor the boat every day. I love how it's not over developed or over crowded! We will definitely return!

The day before we visited this area, strong storms had passed through. This was in addition to exceptional rain for the entire month. We encountered many barriers, closing roads and denying access to recreational venues. We were able to get close to Dale Hollow Dam. All spillways were open, something neither of us had seen before. That alone, was worth the trip. We were also able to drive into the parking lot of the marina. Men were cleaning up the area with metal panels, wood and styrofoam pieces laying all around the lot. We assume there was flooding of the marina but don’t know for certain. It appears it would be a very relaxing area under more normal circumstances.

There are so many little coves to duck back in and hang out when you want some peace but you can be right out in the open water if you are tubing or skiing. There are some neat little restaurants you can boat up to. Fuel prices are high but aren't they always when you are boating. Lodging around the lake is pretty cheap if you can find the right deal. Worth the trip for sure!

My husband & I had never went before but our friends had been going there for many years(about 40 for the husband because he went with his parents as a teenager) with their family so they invited us to come with them this time! The husbands went out in the boat fishing while the wives stayed at the cottage relaxing, reading, watching T.V., crocheting things we never have time to do at home, drinking wine & eating cheese-it crackers & of coarse we cooked & had to do dishes, we went to the 3 little stores close by if we needed something! I took pictures of the lake but I don't know how to put them on here! Dale Hollow Lake is 24,000 or 26,000 acres! Fishing was rough due to the rainy, windy weather but they did catch some fish to keep! The Cottage we stayed in was really nice! It had 3 bedrooms! The living room was inside the front door, then to the left was the front bedroom had 2 double beds, then on the other side of the living room to the left was a hallway with the second bedroom with 2 twin beds, then by it was the third bedroom with a double bed, then across from the second bedroom was a bathroom, then the dinning room was by the living room, than the hallway that went to the other bathroom, The back door area & then the kitchen which was stocked with almost everything we needed! Of coarse you have to bring your own food! We did have a problem with the second bathroom sink leaking but they replaced the whole faucet the same day! The kitchen sink leaked & they fixed it the same day too the gasket needed replaced! But we were probably the first ones to stay in there since it opened for the season! Housekeeping is real good about bringing new towels, wash cloths, toilet paper, dish towels, dish clothes, pot holders, soap, dish soap to you! They came about 8am so it was a good thing we always took our showers at night & got up at 5am or 6am! We stayed at The Star Point Resort Dale Hollow Lake 866-STAR-PNT starpointresort.com They have fishing, cottages, camping, covered slips, & marina! We didn't have cell service at the cottage but we drove to the top of the mountain next door which was about a mile all together! There is a gift shop that is closer that has a pay phone you can use for emergencies! I would go here again! I enjoyed the time we spent here! One day the four of us went exploring in the truck to other areas of the lake! It was pretty! The cottage & gift shop had ramps for wheelchairs!

Beautiful clear lake that has great fishing if you pay your dues. There are plenty of marinas for a variety of lodging needs.

I have been coming to Dale Hollow Lake for the last 35 years and it's a summer trip I always look forward too. Such beautiful scenery and the water is so clear. It's great to go cruising all day and stop off at the different marina's to look around and shop or get a treat. We especially like Willow Grove and their pizza and milkshakes! And Sulphur Creek Marina has a great twist ice cream machine where you can fill your bowl as full as you can get it. We always camp at Dale Hollow Lake State Park campground. It's not on the water, but is a very nice campground, and much closer to our home in Indiana since it's on the north side of the lake. We just returned from a trip there over July 4th, 2015 and while it rained every day, there was also some sunshine. And the water temp was 80 degrees due to all the rain. Renting a houseboat and pulling up to one of the many rocky shorelines along the lake is a very fun vacation. Go, you won't be disappointed, even in the rain!

Love the lake, the staff at the boat dock and the surrounding area. The rental property was disappointing, but, live and learn

Tried on 3 separate occasions to find this establishment open. Although the posted hours said '7 days/week' we found them closed on two consecutive Mondays. On our 3rd visit, a Wednesday, I mentioned the two closed Mondays. Later, who I discovered to be the manager said that the hours were subject to change. No further explanation or apology for missing us twice previously. The food was mediocre and expensive. The wait staff was slow and unresponsive. There's no windows overlooking the lake. It's like eating in a closet. We won't be back!

We rented a house for memorial weekend on Dale Hollow Lake. Beautiful area. I like it better than Cumberland. Easy to get around. Restaurants to choose from at different points on the lake. Enjoyed the coves for kayaking.

Two families, 4 kids (13 and below) and stayed at Sulphur Creek Resort. The lake water is so clean, the people are all so nice. Booked a fishing charter (Dale Hallow Dave) - caught fat smallies, plenty of room for tubing and build zen rocks across from the State Park Marina!

Although this is a two week max. stay destination, the beauty of scenery and clearness of a natural water lake is beyond words. There are four main camping area destinations offered on this beautiful Lake. One being a cooler area below the Dale Hollow Dam and near the TWRA fish hatchery. Swimming and fishing are the highlights along with all the amenities (all sites offer 30/50 amp electric and water hookups) with dumping stations, bath houses and some offer fish cleaning stations. The gated campgrounds also have friendly folks on every side you look. Entirely a non-regrettable experience.

I have been to the lake several times over the past few years out fishing with a local guide John Davis. He has a great knowledge of the lake and some beautiful lake view cabins. Didn't catch any monsters this year but we did well. Love the tradition and beauty of the lake.

Have spent several summers. Great facilities all over the lake. Our favorite is Sunset Marina and Resort. Clear clean water. Lots of shoreline. Great night fishing. Just an overall fun family lake

the marina itself is very nice and most of the staff were very nice my problem is i rented a boat for the day and after a short period of having fun the boat engine started giving problems we called the marina talked to the mechanic followed his suggestions no luck tried to call back he was nowhere to be found tried the radio on the boat no one answered, so i spent 4 hours trying to get their boat back to them (a normal 20 minute boat ride) which i could have been having the fun i intended to by renting the boat, with a slide and grill, which the boat was nice just engine problems, so when i get the boat back they tell me we are aware of your problems and offer me a 50 dollar discount after lol. I guess i should have hitched a ride with some friends and took their key to them and said your boat is broke down in the middle of the lake. i tried to do the right thing and got a slap in the face, So i would not recommend renting a boat from them if you have your own boat you will most likely love this place

Cabin 5 has a rather steep incline to the cabin that you traverse broken slabs of concrete, gravel and broken stairs. The bathroom has a shower that seems the handle to turn on off was on upside down, if you turn you will cause freezing cold or scalding hot water. Also, you can not dry off in the tiny shower as inevitably you will turn the water on, Dont forget your towels as none are provided. The refrigerator was rusted a lot, bottom shelf items are held in by duct tape. We could not figure why the couches were so uncomfortable so we looked under the throw to find a couch that should be thrown out! Not sure if it was in a fire or what happened. The stove is half the size of a regular size one. We had brought a lasagna to cook at after two hours we finally cut it up and used the microwave. The coffee maker is super old and looks like it could use a little bleach to clean it out. This cabin is a dog cabin but there is nowhere to walk the dog to go to the bathroom. The area adjacent to the cabin area is filled with broken glass. We had a very old dog and he fell down the embankment trying to get up the hill to the cabin. Also, my older mother had difficulty coming and going with the gravel and no hand rails. Overall this is good for a bunch of guys going fishing. Finally, we rented a slip for the boat for a night. The ramp to launch for a larger boat, we had a pontoon and could not launch at the better of the two launches. The launch that was deep enough to launch the boat we had to maneuver around a log in the water and a huge crater in the middle of the road. This was the worst launch I have ever seen in my life. Also, there is no place to turn around. VERY difficult for anyone with a large boat. People park their vehicles and trailers right at the launch. The slip we have had no tie down cleats or ropes. I would not call this a resort at all.

Dale Hollow Lake takes up a remote area on the Obey River along the Kentucky and Tennessee border.. Although there is a state resort park in Kentucky, most of the lake is on the Tennessee side. This is a good time to visit because 2018 is the 75th anniversary of the dam construction and features many activities including tours of the powerhouse. We weren't able to take one during our visit but it is a great opportunity if you are interested as those types of tours were mostly eliminated at facilities across the nation after 9/11. There are a couple of full service marinas, houseboats, rentals, guide services, food, and lodging around the lake and its many arms. The world record small mouth bass was caught in the lake and there is good brown trout fishing below the dam, seven miles above the Cumberland River. At least on our visit, the areas we were in were not as crowded as an earlier visit to nearby Lake Cumberland.

We went to Sunset Marina at Dale Hollow Tn. and rented a 74'x20' Houseboat for our family of 11. It had 6 bedrooms, 2 baths and a very large kitchen, dining, living room area. Also had a full deck on the top level with hottub and slide. The grill on the main deck was wonderful. Very large gas grill with a thermostat and "cookbook" that instructed on temps to use for different foods. Did a great job - everything was done to perfection.

Whole experience was wonderful. The people at Sunset Marina were great to work with, and the family said it was their favorite vacation. We will definitely be back!!

We would recommend this to anyone.

We spent 3 days on Dale Hollow Lake with guide Dave Clark. Dave fishes the lake by trolling and is the only guide to fish the lake in the day in June July August. His tactics work. We caught and release 45 to 50 Small Mouth Bass. 25 would have been trophy fish any place except Dale Hollow. One day we caught 7 different species of fish. We caught Walleye, White Bass that are prehistoric in size for the species, large mouth bass, Kentucky spotted bass, gar and a 35 lb drum, small mouth. Dave did all he could to accommodate us and was ready to help in anyway. The Marina he guides from is second to none and is a true resort location.

I recently visited dale hallow lake for the first time with my family and three others. We rented two houseboats from East Point Marina. The boats were beautiful and the marina had friendly, helpful staff. The lake was beautiful, especially the clear emerald water. We had a blast swimming and jumping in the water. It was tough to leave such a beautiful place.
