Good park but terrible queue system.

By MLT |

Park itself is brilliant but the ride queue times were terrible. Don't think a single queue was under 2 hours wait. We have been visiting Disney for many many years and this was by far the worst. The lightning lanes etc just made the standby queue time creep up and up. I did count at one point 40 people going through the lightning lane and being let onto the ride compared to 6 people within the standby queue. It was a miserable experience and to see children crying at Disney is not what it's all about. The rides themselves were really good but something has to change with the queuing system. Disney becoming greedy and keep wanting more and more of your money. We are big disney fans and were disappointed. We don't think we will return to any of the Disneyland/Disney World resorts unless something changes.
To put it out there in comparison we also visited universal studios and didn't have a problem at all, queue times were low and everyone was treated fairly whether you were in the fast lane or standby, staff were letting equal numbers onto the ride from both sides. Far better system. Really enjoyed the park and much better than Disney.

It's funny.

A less “princely” variation of Disneyland Park. Remarkable roller coaster. Better get the skip-the-line pass. The only flaw: zero supply of non-fat and - if not healthy - at least not high-calorie food.

Fun theme park with yummy food options

By Shanelle |

Compared to Disneyland, the rides are more action-y and the food options are tastier. Came here on a Sunday with a park hopper, so we got in at 1pm. We went straight to lunch at the Pacific Wharf Cafe and got a bread bowl (the clam chowder is delicious and super filling). From there, we went on rides that’ll be surprisingly more scary than you think they’d be, but are well worth it (particularly the swinging cart at the Ferris wheel and the Guardians of the Galaxy tower). The incredicoaster is fun and there’s only one loop, so it’s not as scary as you think it is.

The food and wine festival was happening at the same time, and unfortunately the “hack” of ordering the food you want at a counter with a shorter line did not work, as they only do that at select times. The snickers Mickey macaron was big and the hazelnut mousse was like a giant Ferraro rocher. Definitely visit the Avengers Campus - I’m not even particularly a Marvel fan but the vibes are fun plus there’s alcohol (note that if you get the honey cocktail, it’s veeeerrryyyy sweet and syrupy).

Mandatory visit

Parking very top! Organized and clean. I recommend buying a lightning pass. The Cars toy is very cool. Beautiful tree region.

just dont go

By Marçal F |

unfortunately , this park is very crowded and the staff is minimum to be able to do a good job . at avenger campus the things are news ... but the old part was a mess . I dont think in get back there so soon .

Masksing not enforced much

By Gilbert A |

Crowds in only a few places. It was nice to enjoy the park at a leisurely pace. Masks were required, but only about half the people were masked. Unlike Disneyworld, masking was not enforced very well.

Beware if you lose something on a ride even if you know exactly where it is you won't get it back. They will steal it.

By steve w |

On 2/10/24 on jacket fell off the Goofy Ski School ride and onto a catwalk right above the station. I spoke to the ride lead right after I got off the ride. They stated they would retrieve the jacket the next time the ride stopped. We were staying on property so the staff at the hotel created a list item case and called the ride several times during the day. I could see the jacket from our room and it was there the complete day. The next day I looked again and the jacket was gone. So we headed to lost and found (even though it was never lost I knew exactly where it was). Got to lost and found the morning of 2/11. They stated no jacket. We checked again the next day no jacket. So beware there is a THIEF that works on Goofy's Sky School ride. I created a police report with APD. So THIEF hope you enjoy my jacket.

Not worth the money.

I have visited California Adventure park several times. But this is the first time for villians after dark party. I was so excited because it was my birthday. We had been to the Halloween party also Christmas party. So we thought this would be the same. $120 to come in after 5pm. In Florida we got food free. Free drinks. Not In California. Long lines. 2 or 3 villians out. And it was cold. I could of paid 20$ more came in the daytime. And rode all the rides using genie plus. I will never do this again. We stayed around 4 hours and left. No merchandise for the party that you could buy.

Grizzly River Run!

By Bluebird |

Riding the rapids was so much fun on a sunny spring morning!
The new Avengers land is light on attractions but heavy on character sightings. Keep your eyes peeled because the Avengers are all over the place
The new Spiderman attraction is fine/cute but don't spend 2 hours in line for it

Be Aware of Grad Night: It Cuts Your Day Short by 1 Hour

By RexDebi L |

Is there anything else I can add that you may not already know about DCA? I would like to advise readers to check the Disneyland/Disney California Adventure calendar before booking tickets. The week of the 13th this year was Grad Night every night, and even though you paid to stay until 10 pm, you won't be able to as the park closes at 9 pm to all guests except for Grads! You might think "No big deal," but if you've been to Disneyland or DCA, you'll know that a lot can be accomplished in an hour!

Great fun

By Leane D |

Visited for one day with 2 kids (9 and 13). Had a really good time. We had fast passes included in our tickets which really reduced queue times. We couldn’t use this for cars though. Was sightless annoyed with queue time for this. …app said 45 minutes (we had been waiting all day for it to go down) but when we got there it said 65. Got in queue and started to hear announcements that queue would be longer than expected and ended up around 80 minutes! Don’t mind queing but would be helpful if app / time info was more accurate.

The light show at night was amazing but be warned you need to join virtual queue for access to viewing area. We only found this out by accident . It opens at midday on the app.

Avengers campus is good but has the potential to be so much better. We were slightly disappointed as marvel fans that more was not made of the avengers headquarters. They may be planning more as fairly new but was a little underwhelming. The two marvel rides were great and the theming good but we had expected a little more.

Terrible experience. Neverending queues, overcrowded. Unfair 2 queuing system. Very poor value for money

By Esti D |

Overcrowded, neverending queues for 2 min rides. At the beginning of the queue there were signs with the waiting times, we were to the ones that had a reasonable time of 30min, but they waiting time turned to be for more than 2 hours in some occasions. You could see people running in groups looking at their phones like zombies to get into the fast line queue. Terrible experience. No worth the money.

Fun park with some new rides/areas

By kn56 |

The new Avengers campus is cool if you are into Marvel movies. The Guardians of the Galaxy re-theming of Tower of Terror is fun (although I prefer the original). The theming in Cars Land is great. It's a smaller park and with the long lines due to no fast pass system currently is the reason I gave it a 4/5.

MAGICAL❤️

By Kate O |

I LOVED IT.I mean who wouldn’t love Disney California Adventure Park.It was amazing. The only thing i wished is that more Disney characters would be there. It was so amazing there are shops and A lot of games. We went to every single one but 2 because they were fast rides and my family does not like it.

The order by phone is horrible, and if your phone does not work you will be very hungry.

By kimberleeq2015 |

Disney needs to get their act together. For what they charge now, that app to order food should work way better. So very disappointed in our trip.

Better than Disneyland Park

By RoadieFanatic |

Enjoyed this park alot more than Disneyland Park. The rides were more exciting, it was less crowded as well.

Awesome!

By NashvilleTNGuy |

It's Disney. It's awesome! Nuff said, right?
Seriously, this is a very fun park especially for CARS and Avengers fans. Roller coaster is amazing and the new Spider Man experience and Guardians of the Galaxy tower are excellent. Be prepared to spend a lot of money but you will have fun!

TOO CROWDED

By Tricia C |

Too crowded to enjoy. waited in 90+ minute lines for every ride Cars broke down after waiting 2 hours.

A nice pairing with Disneyland

By Sanj2561 |

We had a 1 day park hopper pass for Disney and California Adventure. This park was a lot of fun! Lots of rides and shows...the Cars area was fantastic!!

Best day ever

By Jesus P |

the best option is buy Genie+ because you can avoid long lines, I bought 2 days 1 each park with Genie, and everything was excellent

Fantastic

By Bev B |

I LOVE it over here!!❤️🥰!!! I dine @ the restaurants here-LOVE Carthay Circle & Magic Key Terrace! Soaring over the World is a favorite ride! I also like Carsland. Little Mermaid ride seems to be the shortest line/ fastest & it’s adorable🧜‍♀️

Nice disneypark, but mostly for younger children

By Henrik L |

Disney knows how to create and operate theme parks, they are a level above others. Disney's California adventure is a nice park with several themed lands which are all as immersive as you can expect from Disney.

However, there's a lack of something big and spectacular, like Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland, and the park seems mostly geared towards the younger audience. For the little older Incredicoaster and Guardians of the Galaxy are the only attractions of interest.

The cars ride is nice and well worth trying. It has a single rider lane. Use it, it can save you lots of time and is better than lightning lane IMHO. We passed a 75 min line using it and only had to wait 5-10 minutes.

Character meet & greets, which were a big part of our visit, are well organized and most appear on time in their designated spot. Much better organized than at Disneyland. Some didn't show and the app only seem to keep the general schedule, not the updates during the day. Miss Marvel didn't show at all during our visit for example.

Put it on your to do list

By Bill E |

It was Disney ! If you want to minimize the waits, pay extra for the Lightning Lane (Genie). Have a plan BEFORE you get to the park, otherwise you'll spend time criss-crossing the park and that could be a lot of walking. If you're looking for a sit down meal (not fast food), make reservations or plan to go after the lunch/dinner hour. Much smaller then Florida Disney

A very expensive waste of time

By Joe |

A very expensive waste of time, almost $600 with the Genie+ pass, to stand and queue all day.

Booked the Genie+ pass as well, which is a total con. It’s supposed to be like the Paris Disney fast pass, where you can by pass the really long queues, yet the Americans have complicated it, making it useless. You have to book your slots on the rides, but can only book 1 at a time, then nothing for another couple of hours. You get an hours slot to arrive at the ride, but as does everybody, so you end up in a different long queue.

Then when you try to book another ride, you can’t book until much later in the day, or even not at all. We had our 7 year old son with us, and we were getting offered ride slots at 22:30hrs, which is pointless.

There are many other issues as well, including some of the rides, and when a 7 year old comes off a ride and says, “that was creepy” (it’s a small world) there is an issue.

Disney say they offer a magical experience, but we left there annoyed, frustrated and felt ripped off —— so maybe not so magical.

No thank you never again!

By Amber W |

Total waste of money!!! All the rides kept braking down the entire day so we basically paid to walk around with nothing to do! Cast members were very rude all over both parks. I have mobility issues had rented a scooter for our 3 days there and can't believe how terrible cast members treated me! So disrespectful! Hearing their comments and got a lot of eye rolling whenever I asked a question!!! It had been 9 years since our last visit, went a couple weeks ago! Not going back for another 9 years! For the money I spent in 3 days at Disneyland I could go to Kauai for 10days! Sorry Mickey, you're empire is going into the toilet quickly!

Small but the better of the two parks in California

By Jason S |

This is the second Disney park in Anaheim. I actually liked this one a bit more than Disneyland. It might have less attractions but it has more spirit. It seemed like something was going on all over the park. The Guardians ride which was formally Twilight Zone was a great upgrade. Cars land was amazing. They found a way to recreate the cars universe from the Kozy Cone to Flows, and right up to a great ride though the mountains. The Incredicoaster is one of the best coasters I have ever been on. Then things kind of drop off. The large lake in the middle of the park was drained for repairs so that was a bit disappointing. With the park being smaller you either ride everything multiple times or you only spend half a day in the park.

One tip that I didn't know until after I visited is that you can leave the park and go to Disney Downtown for some much better food options. Though I thought the food options in this park were better than Disneyland. Though non of the food vendors are in a hurry and often you are waiting a significant time to get anything. This creates problems when you have family members that want things from multiple places.

Again this park has a ride that has extreme limited access. In this park it was spiderman's attraction. We didn't even get and opportunity to experience this ride.

My son really enjoyed the animation station where he got to make his own paper based animation.

Overall this is a smaller park but I enjoyed what it had to offer more than I did with Disneyland. Though it feels like both parks should be combined to make one park near the size of any of the parks in Flordia.

Disney does not disappoint

By Jsand8217 |

Long time Disney World fan, first visit here. Shocked at all the negative online reviews, we had a wonderful experience. A lot of different things than in Disney World and we happened to come during the Food and Wine Festival. Some lines and crowds around the food, but otherwise lines weren't bad for a weekend, though we did take advantage of the Lightning Lane Pass, which we felt was definitely worth it. Yes, Disney is expensive, but the theming and experience can not be rivaled by any other park...

Better than expected

By Meg Moore |

Decided to spend the afternoon here at the last minute. We did buy the Genie service and paid extra for Lightning Line at 2 rides, but that allowed us to do everything we wanted in one afternoon. We never waited more than 20 minutes! We were there from 2-7 pm and rode all of the major rides, played games and ate. We had very limited time, so it was definitely worth it to pay extra to bypass the long lines. Make sure and download the app and look around in it before going. It us useful to order food as well and takes some getting used to navigating through, but it is your key to saving time!

Disney nevermore

By Raphael L |

Bad experience, queue to park the car, queue to enter, queue to go to the rides, queue for the bathroom, queue to eat, queue to drink water, queue to leave the park, in other words, in 8 hours in the park you spend 6 hours in queues.
Never !!! The Disney experience is very bad!!!

Was expecting more!

By Clutzylou |

First time here, was expecting a better experience. Not a lot of great food choices and a lot of rides were closed. Very expensive for what we did. Thank goodness we had hopper tickets, as we went to Disneyland after 11 a.m. and stayed there.

Birthday trip - first trip for a 10yr old.

By Shevaani |

It was our kids 11th birthday trip. His first time here. It is expensive but the ambiance and the energy here is that of happiness. It’s a great experience for kids and adults alike. Lines get long so it’s beneficial to there when the park opens at 8am.
The Genie pass is very helpful if you can make it work. It’s $20 extra per person - but worth it.
Foods are okay - not what one comes to Disneyland for but okay tasting. Bring a few snacks - not a lot because they won’t let you in with a lot of food.
Bring a refillable water bottle and refill wherever you can at the park. Water is $5/bottle. Food is more reasonably priced. We liked the churros - freshly made and not too sweet.
Great experience.
Recommend.

Adventure

We always have fun at California adventure. They have a lot of food choices and even gluten free. The main water feature was drained and getting worked on so that was the only downside.

Disney Doesn't Care...

By jpnelson72 |

Disney doesn't care...about the handicap. My wife is fully disabled. She can walk but standing for long periods of time are hard for her. This park provides NO accommodations for handicap people other than they have made all there lines wheelchair accessible. This does not help my wife and they denied our request for DOC (fast lane passes). This park caters to only those who fill their pockets books with additional money for the fast lane passes and all other customers are second class citizens and not worth their time. In addition to that the customer relations employee was somewhat rude to us when asking about what accommodations there was for the handicap. In addition to that the staff working the rides did not know the rules and regulations and we were provided with incorrect information a few times. There are cheaper parks with better rides to enjoy so I highly recommend skipping this one and avoiding Disney all together. OVER PRICED AND UNDER DELIVERES.

Disappointed

By chrissie c |

Multiple rides broken down. Ones we booked multi passes for so not worth the extra money
Meant even with multi passes we had to queue for over an hour.
Rides we actually did go in were good

Never again. Thank God!

By Sheri S |

I am happy to say that I never have to go to Disney again! I always take my grandchild when they are eight and my last one of eight was eight this week. It is a TERRIBLE experience if you remember when they were good. Overcrowded, can't even find food without planning and ordering ahead. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Even some lightning lanes had over 30 minutes wait....on a Monday. It sucks for the price an the people. They don't care. They don't remember how much people spend to go there--nor do they care. Disney works for its shareholders not its guest. This is obvious.

Energetic and Fun

By MelBGood |

A great park that can be explored in a day with Genie Plus and some careful planning. A bit disappointed that if you do not want to wait a ridiculious time to ride Radiator Springs or the Spiderman ride, you have to fork out anywhere from $15 to $20 more per person in addition to the amount paid for the Genie Plus service. The tiered service options are becoming similar to flying an economy airline - your base ticket may not cost you too much, but if you want to eat, pee or bring luggage - it will cost you double the initial quoted amount. It seems that Disney is taking a page out of the airline industry's playbook.

Aside from that, the park was clean, the rides had been maintained and refreshed since our last visit and the customer service was exceptional.

The experience was so poor it was a joke.

By Alice |

This park is honestly not worth your time or money. To start off, several rides were broken down several times during the day. This includes the Grizzly River run, toy story and the new spider man ride.

We had fast passed the spider man ride and it broke down just before we got on it. Everyone in line got a fast pass for waiting. We told the staff we had used our fast pass to get on the ride, so for us, this was not a perk but solely giving us back what we had spent. The others in line who had not used a fast pass recieved an actual perk for waiting. So if you have bought Genie, be aware that you will get no perks if the rides break down.

Moreover, whatever motion capture system they use for this ride, it doesn't work. If you sit at the ends of the carriage, it works better than if you are in the middle. The system does not seem to deal with depth well and needs to be reprogrammed (good luck with that!). So if you are in the middle, there is no way you will win.

The quality of the toy story ride was a joke. Apart from it being broken half the day, the experience of riding it was subpar. The cannons stopped working midway through the ride and once the ride bypassed one of the games. I'm really not sure why they have kept this poor quality ride going. It would've been one of the best rides, had it only been maintained.

Furthermore, I tried to play one of the games where multiple people compete against each other. There was a free seat at a stall and there was going to a be a family of four and me. The staff member asked the family if I could join them (you don't usually have a choice on who joins you in these games, you just pay for your seat?) and the family said no. This guaranteed that a member of that family won the game and a prize. I was offered by the staff member to pay and "maybe play later"? I'm not sure if this was even legal, denying me the right to play? I felt cheated out of the chance to win and I have never had other people playing these games determining if I could play, nor have I ever been asked this previously.

The incredicoaster was recently refurbished. The decorations are made out of plastic and are not animated, compared to many new rides. Do not ride this during the day, as you will only see how cheap it is. If you have to ride it, ride during the night but even then, it's not great.

The new avengers campus is..... just, no. It is way too open and does not feel like Disney at all. It's poorly designed in its layout and the only time we spent in it was walking through it.

Anyhow, just don't go here. It's not worth it.

Loved this park the most

By Seven7777 |

I loved this park more than regular Disneyland. To me, the themes and decorations here are super detailed. There are tons of food options, and it's all very good.
- If Cars land is your favorite, definitely rope drop. It gets busy fast. It's worth it. The rides are super cute, and they've got so many props and decorations. The characters for photos change out often. It alternates between Lightning McQueen, Mater, and Filmore. (That I saw, maybe more!)
- The SanFranSokyo area is very well done. It has beautiful decor, plenty of seating, several restaurants, and the food is great.
- Marvel Campus is amazing. Spider-Man performs on top of the building where he is usually outside doing meet and greet. He comes down and gives high fives when it's over.
- Don't miss out on Turtle Talk With Crush. It's also in this park in the Hollywood section.

By Dwav H |

We are Disney veterans and love the parks - all over the world multiple times. The Disney California park is a must do if at Disneyland but there is no more than one day here. It lacks the Mickey Mouse magic of the other parks.

Bad experience

By Juan L |

Terrible experience, we paid for Disney Genius+ but some games also have to be paid separately, and if you don't pay separately the queues can last more than 3 hours.
It is not the first time I have gone, and I can say that the Disney experience became terrible.

A must

By Elsa Boulos |

The Park exceeded all expectations! The themed lands are immersive, the attractions are thrilling, and the entertainment is mesmerizing.

First time visitors

By Nayeli Vazquez |

We loved DCA ! We had a great experience, everybody we encounter was nice! We purchased the Disney Genie + but we hardly had to use it as the attractions were not that crowded. Some rides did break down during the day but they were quickly repaired and up and running. DCA at night is just amazing with all the light and the vibe! Definitely one of the best ones! Great memories today.

Disappointed

By Mark H |

My wife and I went to Disney's California Adventure in California this past March and we were very disappointed with it all.

First, the amount of people inside the park was beyond ridiculous. We were constantly dodging people everywhere we walked in the park and if we stopped to enjoy some scenery, we got bumped into by others walking by.

Second, the wait times to get onto a ride or into an attraction was a joke. 60 minutes up to 120 minutes or longer wait times. We arrived when the park opened and left around 4pm and we only enjoyed 5 rides total.

Third, the rides/attractions kept breaking down or having some sort of issue that only lengthened our wait time. There is really no excuse for this. For the amount of money we paid in tickets, parking, food, etc. we expect uninterrupted enjoyment.

For my wife and I, this experience left a sour taste in our mouths and pocketbook. We're done with Disney until they can figure out how to bring the fun back to their parks

Had a great time!

By ktondreau66 |

California Adventure is a must!
Disneyland will always be my favorite, but California Adventure has a lot to offer. Fun, food, shopping, rides.
All in all a great day.

Genie Plus is superb!

By Quine83 |

Amazing day!

Particularly impressive is Radiator Springs - the theming is phenomenal!

Genie Plus was a must with younger kids - I would highly recommend.

Fun!

By Cole Girodat |

Disney is always a great time, and California Adventure Park is no exception. We took our engagement photos here, and the staff was very accommodating. They even let us hold their huge pack of helium balloons for one of our photos.

A great Disney park!

By KJ |

October was my first every visit to Disney’s California Adventure. I really liked this park with all themed lands and areas. There are lots of attractions which are enjoyable especially in Cars Land! Both Cars Land and Pixar Pier I found to be some of the most immersive areas!

Also in Disney’s California Adventure, I attended the Oogie Boogie Bash which I really enjoyed! It was great to trick or treat around the park, meet exclusive characters and get spooky! I highly encourage people to attend the Oogie Boogie Bash especially if they love Halloween!

I definitely enjoyed the park days I spent in Disney’s California Adventure park and I look forward to returning again in the future! I highly recommend that everyone that visits Disneyland also visits this park because it is iconic and exclusive to California!

Friendly, Caring Team Made for a Great Oogie Boogie Bash

By Carmen T |

Thanks to the wonderful employees at Disneyland California Adventures, we had a wonderful time at our first Oogie Boogie event!

We encountered so many helpful, patient and pleasant individuals along the way from the shuttle driver at Toy Story lot and Security Check-in folks to Ride Attendants. Special Thanks to the Following:

1. Haley at Guest Services was so engaging. She took time to listen and patiently wait while we gathered our questions and explained the need for assistance. Haley (her badge indicated she is from Las Cruces, NM), offered solutions and information to make our visit a lot of fun.

2. Nelson, a photographer located by the headless horseman, was gifted in the way he posed us and provided suggestions. Because he took time with us, our photos were even better than we expected. A wonderful way to memorialize our trip.

3. Ralph in maintenance chatted with us while keeping the park free of debris while we waited for the 10pm parade. We commented to him that he and the rest of the crew are doing such a great job because we can't even tell there were thousands of trick-r-treaters lined up for the earlier parade! Throughout the day, we viewed Supervisors also helping to keep the park clean since tons of treats were provided & invariably wrappers ended up on the pavement.

Had a Great Adventure

By Lead2829 |

Great time here! Start in cars land and ride the big ride there. We rode Guardians first, but I regretted that choice. Both rides are awesome, so you really won’t go wrong either way. Incredicoaster was awesome. The Spider-Man ride is better at universal was really the only negative. Loved this park

Request to have better vegetarian rice options

By gogsee |

As a south Asian, it’s hard to eat food at Disneyland and California adventure park. We have been here a couple of time in hopes of more vegetarian options but very disappointed in food choices.

We have been doing hack, where we cook rice before going to Disney theme parks, carry that pot all day and eat that in lunch.
However, with a few kids dinner becomes very difficult.

Boardwalk pizza and pasta does not even have vegetarian pasta and/or fries in nearby food places.

Hope someone in disney listens and provide more better vegetarian options.

Great family park, just have good shoes and patience

By Brandon K |

This is a great family park, with a bit more focus for older kids and teens. I know it started out decades ago as celebrating different areas of California, but it is now more of an outgrowth of Disneyland with more "lands" that are focused on movies. The new Avengers Campus had our favorite ride of the day, Guardians of the Galaxy, and some pretty decent park food at Pym's Test Kitchen. Lines are long but well hidden, so bring good shoes and some way to entertain yourselves while waiting (unless you have the financial ability to buy Genie+ and get lightning passes to get in the short lines). Kids of 14, 12, and 9 were well entertained all day. Smaller kids likely have more focused on them at Disneyland, but there are plenty of smaller kid rides here too. Try to avoid the big days on holiday weekends, etc., when they do surge pricing. We ended up getting here on Thursday, November 9, and it would have cost us almost twice as much to have gone on Friday, November 10, due to the holiday.

Such a fun time!

By Ashley H |

I've been to Disneyland before, but this was my mom's first time visiting. It was a great time for both of us. We were nervous about the crowds being heavy around this time, but it was nowhere near what we expected.

Very disappointing experience

By Quest28675275674 |

A very disappointing experience!
1. Quality of the rides, very poor and after waiting a very long time to get onto the rides they barely lasted a minute for most.
2. Friendliness, you would expect better customer service. Most staff we interacted with were not very friendly and didn't seem to care about their jobs.
3. Quality of food was very poor considering the prices you had to pay.
4. The ticket prices are absolutely insanely expensive. Paying $300+ for tickets into a park that was very poorly managed, low quality and simply not what was advertised is very disappointing. Not to mention no Milatery discounts either, really not good at all.

Overall very low rating, disappointing experience and not worth the money.

fun and lively

By Neomi A |

Disney California Adventure Park is a fun and lively place to visit. With exciting rides like the Incredicoaster, cool areas like Pixar Pier and Cars Land, and the awesome World of Color show, there's something for everyone. You can meet Disney and Marvel characters, enjoy tasty food, and explore different themed lands. The park is clean, the staff is friendly, and it's perfect for families and Disney fans. A visit here is sure to be a magical experience.

Extremely disappointed

By Mrblaw |

If you have never had a Disney experience then this is going to be I guess OK. But if you’ve ever been to Magic Kingdom or any of the parks in Orlando Florida this park is quite a disappointment. First and foremost the new app absolutely stinks. It actually helps you to do nothing. It doesn’t even have a way to sort the rides by location within the park and when they use the genie it actually ends up excluding rides. It also ends up excluding restaurants. For example I was looking to eat somewhere with the kids and one of the restaurants the name and shop I only found it later when I was walking around. Probably a glitch nevertheless. You always expect the food here to be on the expensive side. However rudeness is never acceptable. Least of all in the Disney park. If you decide to get coffee and you go to the cappuccino cart before warned if you order coffee with liquor they serve you 1/3 of the amount of coffee with a shot of liquor and charge you four times as much. They also gave it to you in a separate type of cup without a lid claiming that it must be identified as alcoholic and that’s why it needs to be a black cup. However you can’t walk with it because it has no lid. Also note that the bathrooms are poorly identified and are much more scarce than you think. Bottom line go to the bathroom whenever you see it, don’t bother getting coffee from the cappuccino cart you’re better off going to Starbucks which they have at the park. Also note that the mobile apps for food ordering do not have the complete menu of the restaurant. So if there’s something that you want chances are it might not be on the mobile app.

A Delightful Day

By Jessie K |

Disney California Adventure Park is a total blast! Whether you're into heart-pounding rides like Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! or just want to soak in the magic of Pixar Pier, there's something for everyone. The shows are top-notch, the food is delicious, and the whole place is bursting with that classic Disney charm. Totally worth checking out!

Always a great time

I always have a wonderful day at DCA, however if you want to do everything, take the time to plan ahead.

HORRIBLE

By keerstn |

$600 for two people, including park hopper to Disneyland and Genie+, and possibly the worse experience we've ever had at any Disney park ever. Crowds are insane; Genie+ (unlike Fastpass) does absolutely nothing to help and makes it worse if you're in the standby line. We love the rides but we spent so much time in line that we couldn't enjoy anything. We were desperately trying to book Genie+ to help us get through some of the waits but we ended up using it for four rides (in two parks!) the entire day. Crowds are insane and as long as Fastpass is out and Genie+ is in, it's not possible to ride like crazy - not even if you arrive an hour before opening, like we did. If lines are your thing, Disneyland's California Adventure is the place to be. Did I mention they did away with almost all of the single rider lines, too? This was our one and only trip to Disneyland and we will never, ever go back.

Disappointing

By pagalagala |

They should only allow at most three genie/ fastpass groups to two regular. Disney is only after your money. Wait times ARE NOT accurate. Be prepared to pay more than general admission.

Average-to-poor vacation experience

By Rod |

1) Security check: this is a mess and should be updated - maybe start using x-ray detectors like Universal Studios and ALL airports in the world do? Security process @ Disneyland complex is NOT better than TSAs (as some of the security crew members stated when pulling all things from my wife's backpack).
2) Character encounter(s): Not sure what is the purpose of the characters at the Avenger's Campus not have a single location to take pictures (except spidey and iron man); if you are there, you want to visit with them, right? Same with others around the park, the Disneyland app should be updated to show real times instead of a large range (i.e. 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.) like Disneyworld's does (i.e. 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, etc). Bad experience for younger kiddos.
3) Rides: experiencing a lot of issues, some of them being closed throughout the day due to malfunctioning, it deserves better maintenance for what it costs to customers visiting the park.
4) Crew friendliness: mostly inexistent, seems like they are doing you favor for you to be there.
5) Crowd control: somewhat better managed when compared to Disneyland's (they could talk to each other to share best practices).
6) Restaurant services: a plus, good options all around.
Overall: this is not the happiest place on earth...

Oogy boogy bash

By Ryan Escamilla |

We didn't get a full day in the park due to going for Oogy Boogy bash on Halloween itself but it was still good. As always the parks were amazing and so were the rides. Having the extra treat trails to go through did take away from exploring the park but it was still good but felt a bit rushed. Earliest we got in was 3pm and the event started at 6. Did see the new areas like Sanfrantokyo and avengers campus and those were so cool. Nothing negative to say about it.

Great Experience

By Dawniola |

Smaller than its Florida Counterpart but just as much fun. My 12 year old loved both the parks and all the rides. Very busy so our genie plus tickets were a godsend. Magic Kingdom Park does go quieter in the evening after the first round of fireworks so there is a good chance to move around the park and catch up on some rides that you didnt get chance to do during the day.

Frustrations there were quite a few rides broke down. I suppose it being August and extra busy did not help but it was frustrating and not what you expect from a Disney park.

Highlighs were definately the cars ride and the new star wars ride....WOW!!!!

Food and drink expensive but that was the same wherever you went. We went across the road to Dennys for lunch and then went back into the parks.

Disney California Adventure

By RoyaltyC |

I visited on a Tuesday at the end of January. I completed all the rides I wanted before noon. Went to my favourite Mexican spot Cocina to get my favourite quesa biria for lunch. Unfortunately Radiator Spring was still under refurbishment. There were many food choices for the Lunar New Year. There were lots of people for one of their slowest days of the year. Good job Disney!

eh

By esmeldaRodriguez |

Food was not the best, way too over priced.. Lines are insane unless you have a fast pass which is so expensive... it was fun with friends though.

LOOOOOOONG lines!!!

By Peter Y |

Just like DL next door the lines are huge and unless you pay for Genie+ you will have to spend all day in lines. Genie+ has ruined the parks!

The costliest…I mean happiest place in the world

By ArcadeDaddyO |

When I reviewed Disneyland 11 years ago, I gave it five stars as during that time, the line wasn’t as crazy and Disney still had the fastpass which was free.

Unfortunately, they’ve monetized fastpass now (which is called lightning lane) and the most popular rides, expect to see 2.5 to 3 hours wait.

A couple tips if you decide to go.

1) The Disneyland app is a must just to reduce your time being in line. So convenient to order your food as well as to check wait times for rides.

2) Naptime for the kids/break time for the adults at the hotel. It helps a lot if you intend on being at the park until closing. The break just gives you and the kids to freshen up, eat and relax.

3) If you can spare the money, get the lightning lane for the ride that you or your kid/s really want to do. Being in line for at least an hour (or more!!) just drains you.

Fun but Disneyland resort was better

By Rckdiva |

We struggled a lot using the das pass at this park. Not as user friendly especially when it came to character meet and greets. Cars land was amazing, even though not a huge fan of the movie. Would love to see more of Pixar pier being represented in the rides. Not a lot of food choices, but the hotdogs and churros were very good. Didn’t feel as though we got as much out of dca as we did Disneyland resort. Cast members were not as friendly, had quit a few rude cast members especially when it came to rides.

Living the dream ✨

By Tashy16 |

Myself and a group of friends have travelled from the UK for a week in LA and California adventure along with Disneyland was the first stop of our trip and it did not disappoint. I am a massive Disney fan and I visit Disneyland Paris annually and have also visited Disney world Orlando in the past. I love the feel of a Disneyland even though Disney world is amazing in its own right and they’re incomparable. This park had such a special feel and the atmosphere was just pure magical. Disneyland Paris holds such a special place within my heart and I would say that Disneyland California is now on a similar level. This park in particular with Pixar pier was just next level, the Mickey wheel (Pixar pal around), the world of colour show, the unique rides such as incredicoaster and cars road trip were simply amazing. The characters about and interactions are nothing like I’ve ever experienced in other Disney parks- so many opportunities to meet your favourite characters. I have created such special memories that will last a lifetime here and I hope I can return in the near future.

First visit - great time!

By Colleen - OHIO |

We are first time travelers to Cali/Disneyland. We had a great time. Really enjoyed the park, rides, food, experiences. Luna New year was unique. Need to have some plugs for re-charging oxygen concentrator and scooters for disabled patrons.

Another great day at Disney California Adventure; shame Incredicoaster was closed

By Sam |

Our third time visiting California Adventure and enjoyed it very much. Our kids are 11 and 13 and the raides in this park are - in our opinion - better suited to slightly older children and adults than those in the main Disney park. We had visited Universal Studios Hollywood earlier in the same trip and whilst both are great we feel Disney is slightly better - more rides, better queuing systems and a more polished experience overall.

One disappointment was that the ride we'd looked forward to the most - Incredicoaster - was shut for maintenance. We'd booked tickets in February and had heard nothing about this proactively from Disney which (given how many emails they send) is a bit of a miss I think. When I questioned it upon entering the park they refused to give any compensation for this, stating that the information had been on the website for 3 months - but who goes looking in the "under maintenance" sections of the website long before arriving I wonder? Why they choose to service the ride during peak season I am at a loss to understand.

Also a shame to spend 90 mins queuing for the Cars ride but hey.

Overall though, another great day at Disney California.

Wonderful Time…Wonderful Memories.

By therealS1 |

Our family of 9, with 5 adults and 4 kids could not have had a better time. So much better than Disneyland which we two for the two days prior. All employees, cast members and the like were exceptionally nice and helpful. We did the Lightning Pass with an optional fee for the Cars ride. That saved us a lot of time and allowed us to get on every ride we wanted to. The upkeep seems so much better at this park vs Disneyland. Also, we ate at multiple venues and enjoyed the food for the most part. We love the flexibility to enjoy adult beverages and walk throughout the park. We look forward to our next (California) adventure.

Marvel!

By Lisa S |

Loved our time there. The number of characters around and about was great. Love the Marvel universe and had fun. Would liked to have been there at night. Definitely get Genie + if you are thinking about it. Waited 2 hours to get on Spiderman and didn't ride lots of things because of the standby times. Had a nice outdoor dinner at Carthay Lounge.

1st time here and may be the best Disney park

By Tom K |

1st time at this park and we did early entry. We actually got on every ride, but webslingers. This was with leaving at 2 and heading to Disneyland. The different parts of the park were amazing and great mix of rides. This is my new favorite park.

Take advantage of Lightning Lane

By やまぴろ |

It was my first trip from Japan. It is natural that I enjoyed it, so I will write something useful for Japanese people.

・There are fewer so-called "scattered" souvenirs, such as sweets, than in the park, and there are really few compared to Japan.
・Many people in Japan ride something like a senior car with an electric basket (higher speed than a senior car)
· Tickets with Lightning Lane available are better
· I went there on weekdays from the end of July to the beginning of August, but the busiest was the Radiator Springs Racer on all three days. This is my favorite attraction.
・The character popcorn buckets in Cars don't seem to exist in Japan, so it's a Recommendation (they're sold in the popcorn section near the Radiator Springs attraction)
· If you make a Reservation for Lightning Lane but the attraction stops temporarily at the Reservation time, you will instead receive something like an almighty, unrestricted priority boarding pass. You'll still get that priority boarding pass if you stop suddenly after riding the attraction and can't continue to enjoy it (it's temporarily closed)
・Smartphone application is required, so smartphone battery is also required. Even if you forget your mobile battery, we sell it locally. It's disposable and even contains many different types of cables, so it's a bit expensive.
・Goods from Starbucks and Disney collaborations (like cups and tumblers) are also cute
・There are several types of water sold in the park, but "smart water" was the best.
・It is all paper straws, so I struggle to drink anything like smoothies. I couldn't finish it.
・According to a local driver, "If you let a junior high school student go around the park with only his or her child in the same way as in Japan, he or she may be approached by an attendant and taken to a lost child center."
・Even if you are staying in a hotel outside, you can enter the park before it opens, so you can take Lightning Lane once you enter the park (but you cannot ride the attraction until it opens).
・The ice cream is really chewy, so when you buy it, you are warned to eat it later.
・Nearly zero people wear masks. Alcohol hand sanitizer is everywhere.

I impaled for three days, but I never get bored. It was really fun.

Fun Time!

By WorldTravelerCO |

Dinseyland California is a family favorite and preferred over Disneyland. With the elimination of the Fast Pass, however, lines are incredibly long right now despite claims that the park is not at full capacity (this was Nov 11, 2021).

Dining is also difficult. Despite going on to the app 60 days prior to our trip, we were never able to secure meal reservations for our party of six, which was frustrating. Additionally, the lines are so incredibly long for food and the wait times when ordering from the app are one hour or more. So, plan way ahead or plan to be hungry while you wait an hour plus (whether in line or via the app for pickup) for food. This goes for water too, which is an even bigger issue. Both resorts need to figure this out as children need water and there just aren't enough fountain filling stations around. Purchasing water and food should be much faster and easier.

Overall, kids really love it here so pack snacks and water and prepare for long waits!

Don’t bother

By Marc C |

We brought our 10 year old daughter to Disney land California, for her first trip to Disney, both my wife and myself have marvellous memories of Disney in Florida 15 years ago.
We have never felt more let down by an experience than California Disney.
Despite limiting the number of guests in the park, every area is extremely crowded, too much to move. The rides seem to break down or get stopped at a moment’s notice, and the waiting times are ridiculous, over 2 hours to get on the smugglers run ride, 30 minutes more than the estimated wait time.
You need to be aware before you come to the park that unless you buy a genie+ fast pass (30$ per day per guest), you will only ride as a standby passenger, and will not get on until everyone with fast pass is on, this can mean an extra 30 minutes after you get to the front of the queue.
The genie+ fast pass, which we tried one day, is difficult to use, you can only book one attraction at a time, and you may get a time slot many hours in the future, this means in a typical day you will end up with only 3 or 4 rides at best and assuming they don’t break down…
You should also be aware that the genie+ fast pass does not cover the most popular rides in each park, fast passes to these are an extra 20$ per person.
The cast members who previously made visiting Disney so special were in short supply, also almost all of the shows seem to have been cancelled.
In short, it was a waste of a lot of money, we will not be back.

Life is a highway…with lightning McQueen

By SDSCLOG |

What an awesome place to visit, with the newer characters has such a different dynamic to Disneyland. Very clean and very easy and smooth entrance. Using the app is very simple and utilising the lightning lane passes was very convenient. Love that the photos they take for you are free when downloaded to your app . Highly recommended for all….

Fun day in February

By Gwen W |

We had a fun day but the crowds were just crazy. So many people! We thought on a Tuesday I February there would be lighter crowds but it wasn’t. Rides were great and the food was overpriced. It was magical!

AMAZING!

By OurAdventures2 |

Everything about this Park is amazing, well worth the money. Rides, Shows, Staff and Food the best out of any other Parks!!

Totally recommend this

Food at the pier

By Kerry C |

Sourdough bread and soup is always the best at the pier. We had bread and butter along with some Mexican food. No need to buy a lot, bread fills you up quickly. And it's always the best.

Horrifying treatment by cast member

By AxelClarissa O |

This review goes for Rhonda at the guest relations/ticket booth right in front of the Disney and DCA entrance. We spent Saturday and Sunday at both disneyland theme parks and Sunday we wanted to check on the status of a refund before heading into DCA. We arrived at the guest relations window around 1:30 pm Sunday February 13 2022. We only wanted to inquire about the status of our refund for some tickets that had already been approved over the phone. Since the refund was taking longer than anticipated we decided to quickly check the status.

We came up to the window and Rhonda asked us what we wanted and we explained the situation. From the moment we arrived you can tell she didn’t want to be at work. Her eyes glazed over when we explained the simple situation and why we are waiting for a refund. When we explained, she said “nah they wouldn’t have done that.” Keep in mind this refund had already been approved. So I don’t understand why she was trying to tell us they wouldn’t have done if it was already approved. This goes to show that instead of looking up our information she wanted to argue with us about what she thought she knew. She didn’t seem to understand our problem so my fiancé broke it down for her and said “look so we came to the park yesterday right? and what we are trying to do is…” she quickly followed up with a full blown attitude saying “I don’t know, did you?!” This clearly wasn’t a question on his part. This was completely disrespectful and unnecessary.

Since she couldn’t understand the simple problem she called another cast member to look us up. This other cast member immediately understood the situation and checked the computer then graciously told us the status of our refund. If Rhonda couldn’t comprehend a simple situation she could have kindly referred us to somebody else without the unneeded attitude or the huffing and puffing. I really hope Disney can do better and choose employees who actually want to be at work and who align with their core values as a company. This service sticks out like a sore thumb at a park like Disneyland and is completely unacceptable. I honestly thought I was at six flags amusement park for a moment.. and that’s insulting to six flags. It completely ruined the mood for the first couple hours at the park. We were very upset at the patronizing and disrespectful way we were spoken to. I can only imagine how she treats other guests, especially as this was just a brief encounter.

Second time this year

By RoyaltyC |

Got on Soaring after 10 minutes wait on a Tuesday morning. I wanted to do it again in the afternoon but the wait was an hour. Radiator Springs kept breaking down. Single rider lane saved lots of time. Food and wine festival seemed to be popular. My old favourite Boardwalk Pizza and Cocina were not so good this time. Guardians of the Galaxy is a must even though the wait was almost an hour. World of Colour was spectacular. I got in the virtual line around 12pm and got ticket to the 930pm show. This is my favourite park of the 2. It was much busier in April than in January.

Kids really enjoyed it!

By Scott S |

We went to Disneyland, and DCA in early March. We had young kids with us and they loved it, as did we. Cars land was a big hit needless to say.

Magnificent Day Out

By AlphaDelta2912 |

Bought (an extremely expensive) one day two park ticket and Genie+. Drifted across a full 14+ hour day from rope drop to closing between the two park. Cars Land is superb as is the IncrediCoaster, Soarin' Avengers Campus, Hollywood Land and numerous other rides. Despite the expense it's a great day out.

Fab fun with family

By Siandra W |

Such a fun and exciting Disneyland and the grandkids loved it, again there was way too many people for me and we found it harder to get around and on rides. I went on one of the childrens rides and it was terrifying haha!

Disney & Marvel, a magical treat for my son

By Daniel A |

I grew up with Disney and my son, now 5, loves Marvel, especially Spiderman and he was everywhere at California Disney Adventure. Therefore, it was a winning combination for him. He was amazed with the Spiderman action show and then meeting him. I think our family favorite, and first for me too was Webslingers. The interactive 3D ride simulator was one of the best 3D rides of all time! I believe he actually enjoyed this park rather than the larger sister park. Glad we had the park hopper. Families do bring strollers as we rented strollers for 3 days and we could have nearly bought a new one for the crazy prices.

Back to being kids and loving it.

By Mildred B |

We visited early on April and finally got the chance to leave my experience with the fam. At Disneyland in California, every moment is a magical adventure. From thrilling rides to whimsical encounters with beloved characters, the park is a playground of imagination. Whether you're soaring through the cosmos on Space Mountain or indulging in Mickey-shaped treats, Disneyland is a place where memories are made and dreams come true. The kids really enjoyed it and we did too. The kid in us was so pumped.

Fun

By Bev B |

I love coming over & walking California Adventure Park. Sip a drink on the terrace & enjoy fun rides. It’s getting a bit busy for summer… but still fun. A taste of our California. I’m a native😍… So Cal.. we are not all bad😂. 100 years of Mickey… not Disneyland- 68 years old.

Some real highlights

By Waddler |

DCA is less cohesive than Disneyland in terms of theming, but there are still some good rides and the shows are arguably better (currently the Rogers theatre, as well as things like Disney Jr Dance Party and Turtle Talk with Crush, the Spiderman show where the aerial leap is quite something).

The World of Color is also simply unmissable I think.

The major disappointment was that we didn't get to ride Radiator Springs Racers as it was down the day we were there, only opening in the evening but without Lightning Lane so it was a 120 minute wait which with tired kids we didn't think was do-able. Shame as it was one of the rides across Disneyland and DCA that we were most looking forward to.

Really fun, charming.

By Nikki D |

Grew up in LA going to Disneyland, we decided to finally give California Adventure a try. We loved it. So beautifully decorated the Lunar New Year, and FUN! Really really fun. Its Disney magic for sure.

To many Broken rides and effects.

By Nomad_LA |

Wasted 90 minutes in line for 'Soarin' and Web Slingers just to have the rides break down. Disappointed the kids.

Radiator Springs racers was down for the majority of the day and when it opened no lightning lane tickets were available, and we chose not to wait 120+ minutes.

Toy Story Mania went down as we arrived, and didn't make it back there.

On the rides we got on, such as The Little Mermaid, we saw several effects not working.

On rainy day's when the outside rides close they really depend on the other rides, and obviously their maintenance is not up to the task. We had similar experience at Disneyland the next day. Broken rides, broken effects and wasted time in line.

It is apparent they only want to charge premium prices, plus add-on's for lightning lanes, and not provide a premium experience.

Disney eliminated most of the G/F meals we depended on (medical condition) at the quick serve restaurants and the sit down's were booked 2 months ago. Used to depend on the Cocina Cucamonga choices, now just taco's. Disappointed Grandma.

It's Disneyland. What more to say?

By Rich M |

Some things we noticed on our first trip there since 2016.
Security is very efficient, but friendly.
The new Genie+ system can be confusing for those who aren't tech savvy. Take a millenial with you!
The Star Wars rides are truly mind boggling. Even non Star Wars enthusiasts will be blown away by the scale and tech of these attractions.

Do Better

By CazzieT |

The attractions and theming are impeccable. As a family we’ve spent many a day and $ at Disney over the past decade. Unfortunately the cast members at this park, aside from a few in stores/restaurants, are grumpy, rude, surly, and in some cases full of attitude. No magical moments here….and in direct contrast to Disneyworld where you are made to feel welcome and valued. As for the park-goers….people literally walk at you and into you - not sure if this culture is endemic at other attractions in this State, but it really stinks tbh.

Disability Discrimination

By Katelyn J |

I was absolutely appalled by the service my daughter received at Disneyland by a staff member called Shannon at the disability services. My daughter has autism and a chronic spinal condition that hugely impacts her day to day life. She struggled with standing for long periods of time and gets very stressed, overwhelmed and embarrassed around others. She explained this to Shannon who refused to give her disability access like done in all previous years. She went on to tell us the policy changed which I have now looked into - this is ridiculous disney!!! My daughter was discriminated against for looking ‘normal’ and therefore did not have her needs met. And has had the magic of Disney stripped away from a girl who grew up loving all things Disney. I am so disappointed that in 2024 this is how we are treating people who don’t fit into stereotypes. Disney if ‘people lying to get fast passes’ is the issue, ask for a letter from a doctor or proof of diagnosis those of us who actually need the passes would be happy do oblige. DO BETTER DISNEY.

Excellent Entertainment Area.

By dedyis |

So far I can say this activities is amazing, no complain and all good.
I only have several inputs for management :
1. Really hard to find phone public charger. And I think management should think about it. It is simple things, but our experience, at 9pm, when a whole day we spend in the park and we use mobile to take a moment. In the evening, very difficult to order Uber.
2. Safety Luggage/Locker. Size is too small.
We come in the morning, and at 9pm we go directly to airport. So in the morning we have a cabin luggage (20inch). And our luggage is not fit in your storage. Finally we put all merchandises inside locker, but luggage outside locker. I try to talk with customer service (Lost and Found office) and they can't help me. So at night, somebody take our luggage, and it is a big problem.
Management should prepare locker bigger for special case.
3. Payment for locker.
I use bill $10, and I try $20 and machine can't be accepted. If possible have Apple Pay feature will be more excellent.

World class park

By Hitcher84 |

Relative to Disneyland, California Adventure skews more towards older kids/teens. This is because there are more thrill rides. Incredicoaster is a great roller coaster and Guardians is a nice drop ride. Grizzly is also a fun water ride. Totally worth the trip.

Spring Break

By Tina C |

I can't blame DCA for the heat the day we were there. 102F heat made it unbearable. we waited in line hoping to get soaked on Grizzly River Run...however another guest lost their lunch in both the river and the dock so it had to be shut down.

Not enough reservations to go around for the restaurants, so ended up eating at the Cozy Cone. Not a huge fan.

Most of the queues for the rides moved quickly. We ended up having to leave the queue for Toy Story Mania because of technical issues. It shut down.

So two rides shut down on us while we were there.
Would like to see more places to sit and eat with umbrellas. Mainly over by the Adorable Snowman would be a great place.

All in all my family had a great time.

Guest Relations service was not what expected

By Anna V |

DCA is always a great time, been a pass holder since 2015... Although this trip we took with my mom and family we had a few problems getting in with my moms Ticket . First because the barcode wasn’t accessible then it was because they couldn’t find the ticket on the account and I needed it to buy genie +. First Danny came out to assist us and was so kind and assisting. Later that day when we were having trouble purchasing genie + we headed to guest services in DCA. Where Ruben was seeking the problem but it seems he was overwhelmed, frustrated , and rude. He had and attitude towards us like if we were doing something wrong. He took about an hour to print 3 tickets that he kept making a mistake on and finally the 4th ticket was cleared and ready . We lost time at guest services and didn’t even have a good experience with him and his unpleasant attitude. Just to park hop @2 over to Disneyland and have a reservation problem there too . I don’t remember who assisted us but they were kind! Took them about 15 min to have to make a reservation and print ANOTHER ticket! She then informed me that Ruben didn’t make a reservation on the ticket he gave us so she went ahead and made it .... time loss waiting outside the gate . But the good thing is she was polite and helpful! Overall parks were great except for the time loss and customer service with Ruben :(

A very good park.

By Alexandre |

A very nice park to explore for people looking for stronger sensations than Disneyland park, and still perfect for Disney fans looking for details.

Disney California Adventure Park

By Emma Y |

Disney Califnoria Adventure Park is great for chrildren. It can take you to the cartoon world. When you finish the park and you can buy some wonderful gifts at the Seaside Souvenirs near to the park and have a drink in Tiki Juice Bar. You just can google the address 1313 Disneyland Drive, Anaheim, CA 92803-3232 to Disney Califnoria Adventure Park.

Loved!

By tcuevas |

We enjoyed this park very much!!! Loved almost every ride. Only thing was everything closed once it got about 8:10. So make sure you get food and snacks unless you want chips and hot dogs!

Disney land California experience

By Thomas M |

Worst experience ever, over sold the tickets and wait time was more than 2 hours for each ride. Not worth the money and the struggle. Don’t recommend

Fun

By iparker5611 |

This is definitely doable for a couple without kids to accomplish in one day with going to Disneyland Park too if you have the genie+ pass.

Incredible experience

By Gustavo G |

You gotta try the Guardians of the galaxy ride and the Star Wars attraction. We liked better than Disneyland. Plenty of fun for all the family. Also, we hit the food and wine festival. The best was the perfect weather in March.

Another Awesome Adventure!

By Canadi-Lynne |

This was our first trip back since 2018 and we had a wonderful time! We weren't certain how it would be following the events and temporary closure in 2020, but it was great! You can tell that there is less staffing, but we loved it none the less. It would be great though if we could lose the reservation system and go back to park hopping all day long. Bringing in more cast members would really help bring back more of the magic we are used to from previous years. It felt a little strained compared to our previous visit.

We tried a few new things and some old favourites! We were also able to enjoy The World Of Colour show which was fantastic, even from our vantage point up on the pier.

Radiator Springs Racers is a new family favourite, and Toy Story Mania is also a winner! It goes without saying that the Incredicoaster is always on the itinerary, as is Pixar Pal Around. We figured out that Pixar Pal Around has two boarding areas, one for swinging cars and one for still cars. Finding that saved my husband from turning green like he did last visit! LOL

Avengers Campus was a new one for us, and being Marvel fans we were really looking forward to it. I will say, not the wow factor we were expecting, but Pimms Test Kitchen and Webslingers were pretty good. We are looking forward to seeing more expansion in this area.

All in all it was wonderful and we can't wait for our next visit!

Lots of fun in California Adventure

By MinnieM1928 |

The last time we visited was nineteen years ago and the park has changed dramatically over that time with lots of improvements and the park feels like a real Disney park now and you want to spend time here.
The highlights were the Spiderman web-slinger ride, Cars land and Radiator Springs Racers ride, although the most fun ride was Maters Junkyard Jamboree, we laughed so much on that one. Pixar Pier is very well themed as is San Fransokyo Square.
We ate lots of snacks including Halloween Candy Apple Churro's and a Jack Jack num num warm cookie, so yummy.
The highlight for us was attending Oogie Boogie Bash Disney's Halloween Party one evening which we were so lucky to get tickets for when they were released, and having done Mickey's not So Scary Halloween Party In Walt Disney World which we loved, the Oogie Boogie Bash was amazing, the trick and treat trails were so well done and the Villain's Grove trail was really well themed. We went back to our hotel with a lot of candy and a lot of fun memories.

AMAZING PARK

By Samantha J |

This park is such a treat for all adults! It was our first time...

We purchased park hopper tickets to use between both parks since we were only there for one day. We did have to switch the park ticket days since our plans changed after the initial purchase. I called Disney for this change and did leave the difference in cost if the initial tickets were more expensive than the final tickets. It was only $5 each so it was not a difficult decision for me.

We also purchased the Genius Plus so that we could use the Lightning Lane for the majority of the rides, really all except two majori ride. The lightning lanes for these two rides are $18 each so I didnt think it was worth it at the time. We were able to get a new pass after the initial pass was used. If the window for the pass is very far in the future, the user can only schedule a second lane two hour after the initial lane was scheduled. But the overall Lightning Lane was definitely worth the purchase!

There were many great rides and shows, especially at the Avengers Campus. The Spider Man ride is really my favorite at the park. Everything was really well done and really told a great story. Will definitely return to this park in the future.

A fantastic park

By Rob W |

WOW. First visit to this park as when we last came to the area 27 years ago this was a car park.
Unbelievable attractions and rides, absolutely fantastic.
Well worth the admission price.

No Magic

By Stanley S |

I preface this review with the fact that we are all ex-CM from WDW and this was our first visit here, so our views may be skewed. Cars Land and Pixar Pier are the stars of this park. The rest seems to be filler except for the occasional repeat attractions of WDW. Cars Land is inviting, colorful and exciting even though more geared to the younger set. Don't miss the lights on at Sunset. Pixar Pier gves the "shore amusement area" vibe even if it is a sanitized version. The rest of the park, in general, doesn't hit the mark and is a disappointment. Avengers Campus is just plain awful. The "shows" are short in length and are basically character appearances. Not a draw to the informed. The Meet and Greets in CA are poorly run and can't compare to the lavish ones at WDW. No autographs from what I saw and the interaction was brief with a move on attitude. I found the CM not to be as engaging or helpful as WDW with a bit of a California attitude not providing the "magic". SanFransokyo is an absolute waste of space and time. Nothing to see there. This was, in general, an amusement park, not a Disney park in any way, shape or form. It seemed to come alive at night for the teens and young 20's crowd just like a shore pier. All lights and glow with no substance. The offerings for the younger kids just did not seem to outweigh the offerings for the older crowd nor was there anything for adults. It is clear who the targeted audience was. Very California. Ugh!

Great family day.

Absolutely great for the kids. Meeting the characters, fun rides, lovely family day. Live bands were a highlight for me.

CEO Choses Profits over Customer Happiness

By Squishette |

I visited this park Thanksgiving week 2023 with my husband and 6 year old son along with another family. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. First, the park was so packed that it felt unsafe. I either carried my child or had them in the stroller to avoid him being shoved or stepped on. Secondly, the lines were so long (even with Genie+!) that we were only able to get through 1/3rd of the park and only did 4 rides. 3 out of the 4 rides were booked with Genie+, and you can only use it once per ride. My son cried because he could not ride his favorite ride again without standing in line for over an hour. The most disappointing ride was Cars. The woman at the front would not let us rejoin our party after taking our child to the bathroom, resulting in waiting in line for almost two hours. The ride broke down twice in the two hours, and you either suffer in line or pay $21 extra per person for Lightening Lane. How does Disney expect little children to stand in line for so long? The food was ok, but 90% of the time standing in line was much shorter than mobile orders. The wait times on rides is not accurate. Always add an extra 30 minutes. I really hope Disney changes their policies. They (especially the CEO) are making money hand over fist and are losing loyal customers (like me) by the droves. PLEASE lower the crowd capacity- - it is NOT safe and leaves people frustrated and angry. It leaves children crying because they can’t ride rides due to the wait times and parents wanting to cry because you either disappoint your child or out hundreds of extra dollars. Ride wait should be no longer than 20 minutes at maximum. I saw a cast member being screamed at by a disgruntled customer over ride wait time. I saw another customer in a cast member’s face over his wife being shoved in a crowd. Please bring back the Disney magic! The paid Instagram influencers aren’t fooling us any longer!

Nice park.

By Amanda N |

I loved this park. It was pretty busy, more crowded than I expected, but we still had a great time. Loved the festival of foods. Loved that it was do-able in a day. Cars land was so fun.

A Lot of Fun

By MTphotographer |

Disney never disappoints and the California Adventure was amazing! It was our first visit and we took the full day to see as much as we could.

More of an amusement park, less of an enchanting experience

By EC |

Pros: If you are interested in a cute area Cars Land is adorable! So fun to walk through and see how much it looks like the movie.
Soarin' is an amazing ride! Definitely do that one.
Little Mermaid was so cute.
You can for sure meet Elsa. And she was phenomenal and so lovely (however, there is no published schedule and even the employees didn't know when she'd come. We checked 4 different times to meet her. One time she was there, but the employee helping her told us the line was closed and wouldn't give us a time to come back)
The spiderman show is SO cool.
Webslingers is a great ride.
Incredicoaster isn't as bad as I imagined- we rode it twice.

Cons: We waited for over an hour in the Radiator Racers line only to have the ride shut down just before we got on. The workers don't give you a pass to ride again if this happens. We waited another half hour before leaving the line, because we had a genie+ pass scheduld. The ride stayed closed another hour after we left. The ride closed down twice more during the day.
DCA shuts down all rides in the rain. It rained the day we were there and there were only 7 rides that remained open.
A lot of the rides are much more of the amusement park type and much less of an experience.
Guardians of the Galaxy is like a broken elevator. 4/6 of the people in our group became nauseous.
It's hard to get food. If possible use your mobile order bc the lines at dinner are so long.
We had a genie+ pass to do Toy Story Mania, but the ride closed before we got to. We were able to go on another ride, but it was frustrating.
Soarin' had one of the sets of seats break while we were waiting in line in the building. We waiting over a half an hour with the employees saying nothing about why we weren't moving. Two different patrons finally asked before we were told anything.
There is an astounding lack of seating both in the Park and in line (Disneyland is the same way). Also, they don't want you to sit on the fences or posts around the que line so it's very hard on your legs and feet.

Take Away:
If you just want to walk around an area it's okay. But if you want to get in a lot of rides go to Disneyland instead DCA is much harder to get around and to get on rides.
Next time we will only go to Disneyland.

A beautiful park with some great areas.

By Brisbanekidz |

There are some great experiences in this park and it’s very beautiful especially the Paradise Pier area at night.

The lines are an issue and I really miss the Fast Pass system. No matter how early or late you go it’s now impossible to get on some of the rides without a long wait even though we went on a Wednesday in January. I imagine it’s worse the rest of the year. My kids are just not very tolerant of 40+ minute waits and there are about 5 rides here that always seem to be at least that long. Without paying extra there doesn’t seem much you can do to avoid this anymore.

It was also disappointing that some of the most popular rides closed earlier than the rest of the park.

Disneyland Reppin' Cali

By Dennis Co |

Disneyland California Adventure was a neat visit as part of our west coast/Disneyland California vacation. It definitely has its own uniqueness and identity, especially when it comes to showcasing some of the California branding.

You can feel free to see my review on Disneyland Park for our background information for some background information, so I'll primarily focus on the perks of Disneyland California Adventure.

Having children that are 6 and 3 years of age, respectively, I feel that Disneyland California Adventure was more catered to older children and the adult crowd. My kids still enjoyed the park, but I feel like they had more fun at the Disneyland Park.

We cruised through the park (rode on Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!, Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, Pixar Pal-a-Round, Jessie's Critter Carousel, Silly Symphony Swings; did a character meet and greet with Anna and Elsa's Royal Welcome at the Animation Academy ate churros at Cozy Cone Motel; took photos at Buena Vista Street and Cars Land; walked through San Fransokyo Square and Pixar Pier; ate at Aunt Cass Cafe (Boudin's bread bowls); saw Baymax, Meilin Lee, Judy Hopps, Antman, Mater, and Lightening McQueen; watched Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade.

San Fransokyo Square was incredibly neat and a nice touch to the California branding. The torii design of the Golden Gate bridge was cool while the Port of San Fransokyo sign gave Fisherman's Wharf vibes. The Boudin's Bakery walk through had a lot of cool information, and we were able to get the sweet taste of the Boudin's famous sourdough at the Aunt Cass Cafe. The Pixar Pier reminded me of Santa Cruz which transitioned well from San Fransokyo Square.

All the rides that we went on (less Guardians of the Galaxy) were nice and chill. Overall, a nice park that highlights some of California's uniqueness and culture.

very good adventures

By ManoloPY79 |

We had a lot of fun at Disney Adventure on the Monsters INC attractions, Toy Story Mania, The Little Mermaid, Mater's Junky Yard Jamboree, Luigis Rollinkin Roasters and Spiderman which is an amazing and super exciting attraction. We were not able to ride the Radiator Springs Racers attraction because it was not open the day we visited the park. The tram ride is a unique experience. The coffee and cakes are delicious. This park is highly recommended to enjoy with the family and take beautiful photos.

Color of one light show is amazing

By art-scuba |

This place is perfect for a days trip. We parked at Mickey and friends and Pixar lot and took the tram. It was great experience with a teenager and we ended up with the color of one show which scored a perfect 10 from our family. It was dancing fountains with Disney characters like Moana, coco, and avengers projected on it.

Adventure land
Incredicoaster - 9
Soarin - 9.5
Grissly peak - 8
Toy mania - 6
Swing symphony - 6
Jelly fish - 2
Goofy sky school - 6 but bad back folks avoid with sharp turns
Critter carousel - 2
Avenger spider web- 6 bad sensor for corner folks (2 and 3 work) and hurt the arms
Cars radiator springs - single rider is a quick way to avoid the crazy queue - 8
Japan town udon was good for lunch and they also had a good Mexican corn place.
Color of one show was perfect- 10. You can book the virtual queue tickets to see it close by or stand in the Pixar place bridge 30 mins before the show.
Guardians of the galaxy was very crowded and we could not go. It went from 65 mins in the morning to 145 mins wait at night. It does not honor lightning pass

Genie+ is worth it

By DCOO |

4 days over Christmas at Disneyland was magical for Adults and Kids. We found both parks to have a great balance of adventure rides, and low key rides.
tips:
- Get there before rope drop
- be prepared to walk over 30,000 steps a day
- bring food to eat in queues
- use Genie+… without it, we would not have had a good experience as the queues are massive (over 90mins in some cases)
- PLAN which rides you want and how you’re going to maximise Genie+

Amazing Theming!

By Jeff W |

Theming is immersive throughout, and the whole park didn't feel as cramped as Disneyland. The lighting after dark in San Fransokyo Square and Cars Land is a must see! (And yes, every third blink of the traffic light in Cars Land is longer!) After taking a few laps through the park, you do realize that it's a giant mall and food court with a few rides tucked away throughout.

The soft pretzels available at Magic Key Terrace are far larger and more appealing than those served in carts at Disneyland! Radiator Springs Racers was incredibly popular the weekend of our visit- the Lightning Line was longer than the general queue for most other rides!

I’d recommend a park hopper to visit DCA

By atlas993 |

We’ve gone twice in the span of a month (second weekend of November and third weekend of December) and it is packed in these parks. If you are worried about crowds, you should NOT go to Disneyland. A good portion of people are wearing masks, but not everyone even though you are being asked to wear them anywhere indoors. The staff is fantastic and they are doing their best, but you can tell there are less staff than normal. In November we had park hoppers and in December we just did one park a day and because there are so few rides that we like in DCA, I prefer park hopper tickets and I’d do Genie+ for at least one day. I would highly recommend picking your must do (Web Slingers or Radiator Springs Racers) and get to the gates by 7:15am. You can get to the rope and be one of the first people on one of those rides, then just know you’re going to be waiting for awhile for the other ride later in the day. This is the park that you really need to get there in the morning and do as much as you can within the first few hours. After that, the wait times are going to be long for most of the rides. It’s a good park, but the lines get really long because there’s not as many rides as there are in Disneyland. I wouldn’t get Genie+ if you’re just going to be in DCA all day, but if you’re park hopping I’d tell you that it will make your day less stressful if you get it.

Christmas Cheer

When I need a boost in Spirit… I head to the Happiest Place. I’m a Magic Key holder so I like to dine @ Magic Key Terrace & go on my husband’s favorite ride & mine Soaring Around the world. Decorated beautifully for Christmas🎄🎄❤️😍

First Time

By The_Wanderer1992 |

My husband and I got the two park hopper pass and went here after the visit to Disneyland in the morning. It was my first time here and it was cool to see Cars Land where you can see the town in Cars literally come to life. I also liked seeing Pixar Pier. We didn't go on any rides as all the wait times were way too long. It was hot and crowded. We had a pasta dish from pym test kitchen and it was super mediocre. There was no tables to eat it at. Other food sounded interesting, but the lines (again) were way too long.

Super world of color and park!

By boymomdfw |

Great time in California adventure park! The new world of color was amazing! We really enjoyed it! The 2nd show is much less crowded . Get in the virtual queue. The "seating " is worth it!

FABULOUS!

By bridgete478 |

So fun and fabulous. Get the park hoppers and the genie pass. Get the tacos birriea! Kids loved everything, especially guardians, Incredibles, soarin, and cars ride + Mac and cheese bread bowls! Thanks Disney! Could live in the parks!

The best park

By Rjlx |

Visited here for the oggie boogie bash. It is a great park. During the oggie boogie bash the liens weren’t too bad meaning you could experience everything. It is the best park (including the Disneyland park) out of all of them

Food & Wine Festival!

By Bev B |

It’s California Adventure park FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL time! Such fun offerings😍!! I like to buy the 8 item lanyard & eat my way thru the festival 🥳!! Alcoholic Drinks are extra…. But I think worth it! Interesting concoctions 🥂🍷🍹

DCA is better than the sum of its parts

By Dave7070 |

I love DCA, it is so beautiful and well-designed. There are not as many attractions I love but the whole place is just fun to be at. Too many attractions that break down, however.

World of Color fan!!

By Stephani L |

World of color is amazing! California Adventure is definitely less crowded than Disneyland itself & has plenty to do for all ages!

A Must for Pixar Fans

By Skyler P |

This was my family and I’s first visit to this park. Personally, I prefer this park over the Disneyland Park, as it was less busy and less overwhelming in terms of how many attractions there are. They also had great plant based food options for me and my family. We love Pixar movies and grew up watching Cars and playing the video game, so Pixar Pier and Radiator Springs were the highlights! My favourite ride was the Incredicoaster! I will definitely want to go back to experience it again and do any of the rides I didn’t do this time.

Malfunctions rides

By Louis M |

Had to wait a lot for every rides. For e.g. for the Radiator Springs Racers, we had to wait for 2 and a half hours and each time we move a bit in the line, people who paid $18 for the lightning lane just went ahead of us. Then there were several malfunctions while waiting.

Well worth a visit

By AlanDurrant |

Fantastic in every way. Staff in particular were great. All very seamless. It’s well worth getting the Genie; quite expensive but will make your day memorable for something other than queues!

Don't go to Florida first -

By MamaP73 |

This park is very underwhelming compared to the Florida parks - however, we rode every ride all before 6 pm. Hated that we paid for the Lightning Lanes - gauge you in price - but we didn't want to stand in a line more than an hour.

Welcome to Karen-land!

By Vladimir R |

Welcome to Karen-land, where the queues are hours long and the staff are always too busy to talk to you. A truly awful family day out. Expect tears, sunburn and bad food; all for an amazing price. The staff here are really remarkable, the smiles of Jack Nicholson in the Shinning but the customer service that is pure Karen.. Enjoy!

An adventure awaits…

By BakingMama |

At first, we were skeptical. We didn’t have a great experience at Disneyland. I’m so happy we decided to continue with our park hopper. The rides in this park were so much fun. We really didn’t have long waits for rides. There were a bunch of characters roaming around and so much to do. Our favorite ride was Guardians. Hands down for us. This park is def worth the visit. We’re on the fence on whether the lightning lane was worth it as we didn’t use it more than a couple times. But overall it was a family fun day.

Fun

By nadiaginocchio |

We arrived in torrential rain. The rope drop was at the exact opening time but most of the attractions were closed.
At that time the sun came out and everything was different.
With the genie+ we were able to do all the attractions.
The best: incredicoaster, soarin and those from avenger's land.
For the cars game we had so much wait (the game breaks down quite frequently) that it no longer seemed so fantastic to us.
Walking through California Adventure is beautiful!
Tip: bring water and snacks!

Awesome family time at California Adventure!

By JB Stevens |

We arrived about 20 minutes before rope drop. We made it through security and immediately went to Cars land to get in that ride. We followed it with Guardians of the Galaxy, Incredi-coaster and Toy Story Mania. You have to be there before rope drop if you expect to get all of the rides in. We enjoyed lunch at the bakery and at 1pm made our way to Disneyland Park.

Tips:
- Be at rope drop.
- Start in Cars Land.
- Save the rapids for last.

Exciting but Not As Many Rides

By keshort78 |

We had spent the previous day at Disneyland and were worn out with all the rides we wanted to go on.
I found there not to be as many rides that interested us but we made the best of it.
We used the app to keep track of wait times and lightning lane options. I would say that we didn't get the full value for the lightning lane pass at this park.
The staff were wonderful and the park was clean.
If you are curious how many rides you can do in a certain amount of time this was our list:
9:30am - arrival at park (Guardians of the Galaxy, Ferris Wheel, Swings, Zephyr, Soaring across California (LL), Radiator Springs (single rider line), River Run
(BACK TO ROOM TO REST)
6:00pm - Guardians, Cars, 9pm Water Light Show

The Colour Light Show was the highlight of the day and you do not want to miss it. We were standing in the splash zone and it was more of a constant mist from the water sprays, not large amounts of water.

Terrible wait times on rides with lightning passes .

By Randy |

Wait times are so long with new lightning pass.Nearly 3 hours to ride radiator springs. Lightning line doesn’t enable you to advance. 40 plus dollars more for the pass and 1 ride, plus $20 for each additional ride. Disney is just getting greedy. If you hate your family wait on these long lines. It’s really diminished the experience from just a few years ago. Go less often, or blow a lot of extra money on top of these already high prices to have a better time with your loved ones.

Packed angry and horribly overpriced. Go to universal

By Delorean72 |

No Disney magic here anymore. We did go when it was a busy day (we didn’t realise) but we had 3 days and didn’t get on many rides.

Queues were horrible everything was 75 minutes. Food was gross.

We are at the sanfrantokyo place which was jam packed full of people and was just filthy and gross.

We had teriyaki chicken from one of the stalls and threw it as it was horrible.

The food was crazy overpriced, tickets are a rip off. Parks packed, everyone angry and nasty.

We also visited universal which, was so much better.

This was our 3rd and final visit to Disney CA back to Florida next time or Paris.

Save your cash and go to universal 100%

Going back to Cali!!!

By Hans |

Finally was able to come back. All the favorites are still here. New favorites were made. The avengers area is real cool. Crowded for a Friday but still fun. I will for sure return.

Amazing trip

By Rjlx |

Visited this park for the oogie boogie bash in October. It was amazing and definitely worth the money. The park itself personally has better rides than Disneyland park, there is more to do and is more themed throughout. For the Halloween bash we got entry at 3pm and while it was busy it wasn’t too crowded like the other park was or usually is. We would definitely return but would probably only do this park rather than Disneyland park.

Fantastic day- but NO BAYMAX

By Angie H |

Amazzing day!! But NO Baymax meet (apparently for a while)

We had a fantastic say! Saw other reviewers say how awful things are but we did not see any of that. Washrooms were clean, plentiful. We found food that was good snd lots of optioms. Did mobile order, we also brought some light snacks so didn’t have to eat multiple meals. Lines were the only issue but we bought lightening lane for Star Wars -Rise of resistance ($26 usd each) worth it. We also had bought the full LL pass and we’re able to use on a few rides so it really depends the rides you do if its worth it. Do single rider too where you can. The other Smugglers run StarWars ride my hubs said was terrible. The star wars area is amazzing. Make a reservation for Ogas Cantina so you get a table. Very cool place for a rest and drinks. Cocktails were great and we only had garlic bread/cheese but it was amazing and everyone at our table liked their food. A must for SW fans, but even if you’re not its wortg it!

The real stars and wow came from San Fransokyo. Very cool and we stayed here for a long time to eat, look around. Lunar New Year was very cute too. We missed parade but would have been nice.

We came from Canada, and main/only character we wanted to see was Baymax as my son is a huge fan. Only Hiro was there and they told us Baymax would be gone maybe for months (?) as suit being fixed. I mean, honestly doesn’t Disney have many Baymax suits? This was a huge miss that theu cannot advise of this somewhere. People spend thousands to travel to see favourites. Disney has invested millions in San Fransokyo, Baymax’s city, whats the point if no Baymax? My son was crushed. We bought merch, baymax macaton and cup, bought the gold coin from machine, you could buy big baymax balloons too.

This review is really for Baymax lovers so you don’t get your hopes up if going soon.

Other than that the day was dabukous!!

Rogers the Musical Premium Experience

By Pr0fess0rSteve |

In my wheelchair it is hard for me to wait in line or go to shows. The Hyperion Theater in DCA is really a fantastic venue so I purchased ($29) a Rogers Premium pass. To do this you need to show up at rope drop! Go to the left hand line and they will take you to the shop where you get the pass. Includes a popcorn bucket, a photo and a great shady waiting area with couches. Also free soda or water. Before the show you get to go in a literally pick your seat. I went to the wheelchair spot which was in the center and close up. The musical was superb. 36 minutes to cover the whole Captain America story. I enjoyed this so much thanks to the premium pass. Also made friends as people doing this are super excited and nice. Highly recommended!! Rogers is supposed to close August 31 but I'm betting they will extend.

Great time

By Ashley L |

Loved going here with the family to celebrate their graduations. Avengers campus was great, loved WEB slingers and the Guardians ride. Not a fan of the Genie app, and Cars broke down at least a dozen times the day we were there.

Lucky to get in.

By Steveh3Texas |

I was visiting on a day when the Park had no reservations left. So….I knew it was going to be very crowded and it was. I spent over 45 minutes in line for the first 2 rides. Luckily in the last 2 hours before closing, lines diminish. I suggest using the Single rider line on every ride possible. Favorites were Cars (racing ride) Guardians, Spider-Man, and Soaring.
One day is adequate. Go early in the morning, if possible.

Disneyland California

By sara m |

This was the best place for a tourist attraction. the rides felt very safe and were very fun. There was the incredicoaster wich was very scary but very fun at the same time do not be afraid to go onto it. The snacks and food were very well priced and yummy.
The staff members were very kind and friendly.
I do recommend going the time that it opens because if you go later on in the afternoon the lines for the rides will be very long and you will have to wait in line for a long time.
The shops were a little bit overpriced but since it was a souvenir shop it was worth it.
Definitely recommend it. 👍🏻

Spider-Man is why we came!

By wendylmatti |

Loved meeting Spider-Man. My daughter was thrilled . Didn’t like that I had to pay to ride the Cars ride but paid anyway. The Spider-Man ride was really cool. Lots of cool shops

RECOMEND FOR ALL

By everallica |

Had an amazing afternoon at Adventure Park! My children and I spent half of our day here and enjoyed every minute 🙂 sadly we started our day at Disney land and had a not so magical time. We spent the extra money for the Genie Plus package and we weren't expecting to have to make reservations for every ride at least two hours prior to riding and book reservations for all food in the park. Adventure park on the other hand had speedy lines, great staff and a great corndog in just a matter of moments! Recommend for all visiting the Anaheim area

Family Vacation

By Manida H |

I like this place and a nice atmosphere of the park during visit with the family. The staff were very friendly and kindly helpful. I love all the fun activities and the animation characters.

Better than expected

By J B |

Since this park is newer, the rides did not break down as much as Disneyland. We liked the feel/vibe of the Pier. The park felt more relaxed and less manic as Disneyland. We didn't feel like we needed Genie+ for this park, and were glad we didn't purchase it.

Disney line

By Justin M |

Spent 90% of the day lining up for at least an hour at a time and had 3 breakdowns while lining up definitely not getting the value for your money like you used to needs to prioritise experience over greed

No Disney magic here

By Allison B |

My husband and I were underwhelmed by this park. We found the park not as well decorated for Christmas and didn’t hold the same level of magic felt in Disneyland. We didn’t even bother to return for World of Color.

Wait times are atrocious and most rides do not offer anything special. The only attraction worth seeing is Cars land and be prepared to wait 60 minutes or more for the car ride itself. Wait times are additionally inconsistent and change drastically within minutes which makes it difficult to plan accordingly.

I find there are more characters here than in Disneyland, but good luck getting a photo with any of them. Lines are cut short quickly and characters can change while waiting in line which is disappointing. The only characters you are guaranteed to see is Encanto, but they are equally subject to availability and can change mid-line.

Parade is subpar and not worth wasting your time to view. Barely any characters and the one who do show do not interact with the crowds. Take this time to ride the rides with larger wait times. Lightning lanes are a waste of money in my opinion, with standby lanes having shorter wait times than if you booked a lightning lane for an hour or more later.

If we return, we would only focus on energy on Disneyland and not bother with this park.

Great only 2 things though

By Your friend |

It is great I love it but for me I live in phoenix so it’s about a 6 hour drive and a 1 hour 30 minute plane ride but other than that it was so great it was so hard to choose from all of the great foods I 100% recommend to go and the lines are long bur if you can get a fast pass other than that amazing experience !

Happiest place on earth

By The Glogs |

Myself and my husband loved this park. Having been to Disney World many times and to Disneyland Paris we agreed this was our favourite park. It just had a great vibe. Some fantastic rides. Our top being the Incredicoaster and Radiator Springs Racers. Queues were good as well. Best day in LA

Avengers Campus Was a Blast

By RayParliament |

First visit to Disneyland and California Adventure and we had so much fun. We;ve been to the parks in Florida and this park I would have to put at the top of my favorites. There's so much to do and it was a blast. Avengers Campus is where we spent most of our time and I'm so glad we did. There were non-stop shows and activities. Would love to go again!!

Had a nice day

By Illmatic Mike |

I am excited about this place
Had a lot of fun with my family
The rides were all family friendly and exciting

Debut and farewell

By Mariano V |

Once in the parking lot, the shouts of the employees organizing people to board the motorized train that takes you to the doors of the parks generates a lot of stress. Inside the park there were hordes of people and endless lines. Thousands of disabled people, obese or not... moving in those electric cars with total priority, I really felt overwhelmed. They run over you. Many people with month-old babies in their strollers. All with priority. It's even difficult to walk because there are sections reserved for these cars, so to go from one side to the other you have to make a huge turn. I know what I say sounds "politically incorrect", but I also paid the entrance fee and I had some right, right? Well it seemed not.
My goal was to go to attractions that are not in Orlando, which didn't seem very complicated but it was.

Disney Radiator Spring’s ride

By john s |

Amazing. Great day and finished with the fantastic light show. Rides were awesome. Genie worth every penny. My only criticism of Disney is after paying so much for Genie they wanted a further $15 each to go and fast track Cars ride (the best on site). In fact the piss was taken out of the 95% of people in the queue by letting the lightning line (paying public) take complete priority over the general public in the normal queue. We saw 25 - 30 people go from the pay queue to every 4-5 in the standby line. People getting very angry and rightfully so. If anyone could read the situation it was not a nice atmosphere. Disney went too far on this one. One to fix for the future.

All other aspects were great all round.

So much fun - for adults too!

By Deeee1985 |

Between the two parks, the Incredicoaster is the one ride that has the tallest height requirement for kids at 4 feet. I found the swinging gondolas on the Ferris wheel far more terrifying and would not recommend them for any age group. HA. There's more variety to eat and drink at this park and it's more geared toward older kids and adults. We loved the lunch at Carthay Theatre, the churros at any stand, and the ability to walk around with drinks in hand!
Highly recommend walking into the animation studio to do a few of those experiences - including the secret room - Beast's library.
The park is smaller than Disneyland, but very manageable in a few hours.

Great park

By taregirl |

Love love love this park. We have been here several times before and can’t wait to go back. Avengers campus is fun but Guardians is the absolute best

Oogie Boogie Bash

By Hutchings C |

What a great experience. The fun size snacks, candy as well as grapes, carrots and chips, were plentiful however, the wait times for the rides were worth the price of admission. Thanks for such a great time.

So dang fun

By Debbie W |

A different vibe than Disneyland, more of a carnival feel, not as much to do here, but still very fun. Not as many rides, lots of shops and eateries. Get a hopper pass for this so you can visit Disneyland the same day, multiple times times if you want,

Disappointing

By Mika |

We were really looking forward to DisneyLand. A childhood dream should have come true. Unfortunately, the day was marked by queues, incorrect information about waiting times, closed rides and unmotivated and unfriendly staff. Unbelievable - in contrast to Universal Studios and Legoland in California, this park cannot be recommended. The traffic jams and crowds are artificially created to spoil the day for normal people. Once you've been on a ride, they're really great. But we will definitely not be visiting this park again.

Great time

By Nanette S |

We had so much fun with kids & grandkids. Good rides and food. Beautifully decorated and very festive.

Waste of time and money

By MitchFindlay |

Our first visit in twenty years. Wanted to see the new Star Wars and Star Tours exhibits. At first the 1.25 mile walk from the $30 parking garage was a putoff. But the large crowds everywhere was a turnoff. A bit unexpected on this Thursday visit. With all the hidden lines snaking out of site you spend an inordinate amount of time walking and standing. We had paid for the lightning pass but you can only book one ride at a time and some of the more popular rides are not included .
As for Star Wars and Star Tours? Both were jerky and loud. We loved the old Star Tours but this new one is just a mess of a story trying to fit too many stories into 3 minutes.
I doubt I will ever visit Disneyland again.

There are a lot of fun here

By Rafael Z |

there are a lot of thing to do, attractions to see, you need more than one day to visit this park, a lot of characters to see.

Was surprised how much I loved Cars Land!

By cijay m |

I hadn't been there for 11 years and it was great to see the changes and re-theming as well as my old favourites. I don't care that they re-themed the Tower of Terror, it's the same ride, just different atmosphere and based on something I know nothing about. Incredicoaster is the same as California Screamin', again, based on something I know nothing about but it's the same ride. It was lunar new year when we were there so we enjoyed some of the food, entertainment and a wide scope of characters. Finishing the night with a coffee in the town square was beautiful. It was a warm night, the characters and band were out and the lighting was beautiful.

First time in DL

By Kristin D |

I love this park we had such. Good time here! Loved meeting the Avengers and seeing cars land! Wait times were not terrible and all characters and cast members were amazing!

Enjoyed with my family

By Darren L |

Spent 1 day on this side of Disneyland in Sept (but unfortunately missed out on Oogie Boogie this year). Really enjoyed the Cars area (especially when all the neon lights up at nighttime), and in particular, Radiator Springs Racer - This was my second favourite of both parks behind Rise of the Resistance.

Not Good at all!!!!!

By c a |

Horrible customer service. Rides have long waits and are regularly shutting down. Go to wdw or even great America is better!!!

Skip it - cannot believe Disney has its name on this park

By Barbara D |

Love Disney parks. But this one is more akin to a carnival than a Disney park. The rides are subpar and do not compare to any decent theme park rides. The service is non existent and the food is meh. Not worth the money.

Overcrowded hot mess

By Bill Crawford |

Been going to Disneyland and California Adventure for over 2 decades. Totally cool with paying more if the experience was enjoyable. However, even with raised prices and reservations, the place is now totally overcrowded and not worth it. Even if we would go on a weekday, non peak day, it’s overcrowded. The wait times for rides are ridiculous and now the wait times listed are never accurate. Definitely now the unhappiest place on earth. Think Walt is rolling over in his grave.

Better than Disneyland this trip!

By kenwilson569 |

I've been visiting Disneyland for over 60 years, since I was 4. I am shocked to say that for the first time California Adventure out performed Disneyland. While they still had some trouble keeping their rides up and running at least most of the rides were functioning properly (unlike Disneyland). Soarin',Radiator Springs Racers, and Web Slingers shined. Some of the face characters on Buena Vista Street (thanks bike messenger girl) were great. However, they still have a long way to go when it comes to maintaining their rides and keeping them running.

Go early and enjoy the day with genie pass. The best ride is the Soarin, Guardians of galaxy, cars and the coaster

By art-scuba |

Our family with my husband, a 12 year old, and grandparents two seniors (80+ and 75+) enjoyed the July 4th at Adventure park.
START early - get there by 8 AM and you will finish up the main rides. We did about 11 adult rides because we got there early at 8 AM when the lines were 10 minutes.

Here is our score of the rides from our family:
Rides AVERAGE
Incredi-rollercoaster 4.375
Soarin 4
Water Ride Grizzly 3.8 (did this twice)
Guardians of Galaxy 3.8
Cars 3.7
ToyStory 3D shooting 3.6
Spiderman Shooting 3d 3.5
Goofy rollercoaster 3.4
Swing harmony 3
Mermaid Ride (kids ride) 1.2 (it is a toddler ride)

Couple of things to remember: We went on a crowded July 4th day but still managed well by getting there early.

Get the genie pass so you can book for things like Guardians of the galaxy (it is worth the extra money if you want to get more rides)
We did the order as follows in the morning with Soarin at 8 AM (10 min wait), Next. Grizzly water (the seniors had back pain on this the next day but it was a blast for the younger folks as we did this 2 times again in the after noon without grandparents). It was empty in the morning. You will get wet in the water.

We had booked Guardians of the Galaxy for 11:20 which was the earliest possible when we started at 8 AM using the genie.

Cars is a CRAZY wait unless you can get on the singles line (where you don't go with your family) and it becomes a 5-minute wait. it is well worth it to do this as you will all come back with unique experiences and you just saved an extra 18 dollars on the lightning pass for Cars (they charge that on top of the genie pass so jump on singles line).

After grizzly, we did the roller coaster which is a long wait but it moves fast and then the swing which is nothing spectacular but a time killer. If you can get on the Toy Story early on with the genie use it as the line is long by afternoon.

The goofy ride is excellent and was fine for seniors too with a small drop on the roller coaster.

Food on the premises is easy and there is a rest area with le boudin, Chinese, Mexican, and other burger places. There is also corn on the cob with spicy powder on it.

Park in the Toy story parking lot and take the shuttle as that is the closest parking lot to the park. If you can walk it, park your car in the hotels and walk it.

We also got to see fireworks on the 3rd July night as we left by 6 PM on 4th after the 11 rides. For the fireworks, you can go to the Panera bread parking which gives you a wonderful view of the fire works by the park. there is also a courtyard Marriott at the entrance of the park which has great views too.

A great day out!

By Luke T |

Visited during Oogie boogie bash, and had a great day.

Minimal queues and food and drink was reasonably priced.

Seating in certain areas can be a little cramped but should be able to find somewhere.

Also if possible do visit Oogie boogie bash, low queue times, and the character interactions and treat trails are great!

awesome

By Georgette A |

The rides are a perfect mix of high-energy thrill rides and more laid-back, family-friendly attractions. The Incredicoaster, the park's signature roller coaster, offers a thrilling and exhilarating experience, while rides like the Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and the beloved Toy Story Midway Mania are great options for guests of all ages. The park also features some amazing 3D and interactive experiences, like Soarin’ Around the World, which takes guests on a breathtaking aerial tour of global landmarks.

Crowded and expensive but still fun

By cgbroderick |

Price has gone up, as has the Genie extra that used to be part of admission as a Fast Pass on the rides. Also, what's ridiculous is they charge you $20 extra to go on Star Wars ride!

Not the best

By Jackie R |

Not the best Disney park with miserable and unhelpful staff. Not well signposted with queues even for those rides you are able to use with the genie app. No special facilities for those with disabilities on rides unlike other parks!

Thrilling and fun rides

By AnnieFNZ |

Definitely do Radiator Springs at rope drop. It was temporarily closed at rope drop when we arrived so ended up doing it later in the day which meant queuing two hours for it. However, although it breaks down and has a ridiculous wait time, it was probably my favourite ride. Would strongly recommend Guardians of the Galaxy, Soarin' and Silly Symphony Swings. If you don't want to get wet then don't do Grizzly River Run. Aside from Web Slingers (had a too long queue), we did all the must-do's by about 5pm. Before your day at DCA, get familiar with the Lightning Lane system and the app.

If you like long lines and ride closures then this is the park for you

By VanCity_Family |

We went to Disney California Adventure Park (DCA) on March 14th (a very rainy day). We had Genie+ tickets, got to the park before open, and bought a Lightening Lane pass for Radiator Springs Racers. In short, we really planned our day. The park was busy (really busy). Many rides were closed and the lines were really long.

Due to the fact that many of the rides were closed (some for long periods some for short periods) our Genie+ planning didn’t work very well and we were stuck in long lines.

We were excited to see the new Avengers Campus but the “campus” is small (nothing like Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland).

Our kids loved the Incredicoaster and Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout. Our kids would have gone on the Incredicoaster numerous times but it was closed for long periods. We all enjoyed Radiator Springs Racers. We waited approximately 80 minutes (in the pouring rain) for Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. The ride was fun but the line was too long and the staff (cast member) running the line was totally uninterested (read: no magic, as silly as that sounds).

Our trip to DCA was part of a longer trip to Disneyland (I’ll review Disneyland separately. Sneak peek – it was a lot of fun!).

I’ve rated the experience a 3 (due to long lines and rides that were closed). If I could plan this again, I would either get a Park Hopper pass or go to Universal for the day. For what it is worth, our kids liked the rides they went on and probably would want to go back.

Save Your $$$!

By Nicole K |

After coming to Disneyland and California Adventures for years, this by far was our worst experience. Coming during Thanksgiving, I expected large crowds, but I didn’t expect to miss the magic of Disney. There were cast members arguing, standing around in groups talking about what they do to get ready in the morning, and very few that made the experience magical. While standing in very long lines, the rides would stop, and we’d be told that the ride was closed and to turn around and exit. This happened multiple times during our 5-day trip. At one time, 3 of the big rides closed down. It was weird, and it felt like Disney was playing games in trying to move people around.

With no fast passes, you waited and waited and waited with no reprieve like in days past when you could wait in line and then use a fast pass. On both Radiator Racers and Web Slingers, people were coming in groups and cutting through the line. They could have paid extra, but when we asked cast members about it, they denied it was happening. Additionally, there were people cutting in line multiple times. The wait times on the app were not realistic.

The food was not anything great, regardless of a hike in prices. We did like the virtual order. The Christmas decorations were great. The last day, we didn’t go to the park. It was too crowded. My recommendation would be to wait on a trip until Disney gets their act together.

Great for teens

By Jjohnsonsgrandma |

This park is great for teens. I found Disneyland to be a bit better for my grandkids as they are smaller children. This was still a wonderful place for activities and shows!

Racist personal

By Romina |

I just had a horrible experience with the personal here , I felt so bad because a worker would accept my ID because I was Mexican, before were people and because they were caucasian she gave them the whisky shake without even asking for ID and when I asked for mine, she would even try to scan my I D or passport she simply rejected it.
A clear case of racism, I felt awful and abused.

Love it❤️

By Bev B |

I love coming over to CA Adventure Park Disneyland resort! I dine @ the Magic Key restaurant & love the rides. Final days of food & wine festival. I bought a lanyard for 4 tastings…. REALLY great food this year & special offerings for Magic Key holders❤️

Great attractions but understaffed

By SingaporeBms |

Haven’t been to the park in 4 years and we were impressed with the new attractions which display the best of Disney imaginering. What is lacking is enough staff to do the basics of keeping the park clean and pristine. Toilets were of questionable cleanliness and the plates piled up quickly when people were trying to self-clear their tables. For the amount Disney is charging customers this is just not acceptable.

By Lily M |

it was great time at disneyland california adventures and disneypark and i really wanted to fight darthvadar but it was closed but maybe it will be open on december 23rd

Save your money. Go to Disneyland!

By JLY1955 |

Reduce the ticket prices if the park is closing early for a special event for which extra tickets will be sold, you are double-dipping for tickets for the same day. Fix the rides so they are not breaking down constanly. Don't issue so many lightening lanes passes that they are the only ones who will get on the ride, or don't have 2-3 hour stand-by lanes when there is not a snowy chance that anyone but lightening lane pass holders will get on the ride.

Genie add on is worth it

By sarah371 |

Recommend getting the fast pass/ genie add on. We were able to book the ride, go on the ride in the regular queue while we waited on average 20 mins. Then use our genie fast pass to skip the queue and go on a second time.

The only ride we didn’t go on twice was the cars ride. It was the first ride we approached and the wait was already 60 minutes, pretty much right on opening. We ended up purchasing the additional skip the queue (separate from the genie add on). We didn’t find this ride to live up to the hype at all.

Guardians of the galaxy was the best ride, we were able to go on it a few times!

The Spider-Man ride malfunctioned when we were on so the staff let us go on it a second time and skip the queue without us asking, which was great of them.

All staff were friendly. Great time.

Magical Cast Member

By Nina V |

California Adventure is always a great experience. However a Cast member at the Mickey ferris wheel made it so much more memorable for me the kids and others waiting in long lines. Anthony was clapping his hands and singing with us as we got closer in the line. He made the kids and other visitors so happy and gave the little extra joy and magic that disney needs because it is so much more than the attractions and food. All encounterers matter and this was definitely one of the best one. Please peomote this man or give him employee of the year because he is amazing!

California

My favorite of the two parks I visited with the Park Hopper ticket. Lot of bars, dining and snacks option. Very live atmosphere

Like the difference when compared to Disneyland Resort

By KnitsbyConnie |

Disney packs in the rides. They have made efficient use of the space available.
Its a nice contrast to Disneyland resort.
We spent about 3 or more hours in this park.
It was crowded due to the Christmas time.
Disney staff is always helpful and pleasant.
Enjoyed the activity rides like the animation academy.
So if you can do roller coasters, there is still something for you to try out.

Won’t be back.

By Tripster |

Just terrible. Having visited Disney World so many times, we are so lucky to have what he do there!!!

This place is a thematic mess. Has no identity. There’s no cohesion. Doesn’t handle crowds well. Was just a depressing disappointment.

Radiator Springs Racer was terrible for the ILL cost.

Guardians was an absolute blast! However, if you love Tower of Terror, and are sensitive to design, etc…this attraction will drive you nuts. I wish Disney had done/designed this intentionally. Instead, they took an old ‘hotel’ and did the cheapest, poorest retrofit/re-theme you can imagine, which for me - takes away from what could have been worth the admission to this disappointing park, in and of itself!

Will not return when I visit Disneyland again.

Note: I found an incredible, beautiful, quiet, new, high-end hotel nearby and was SO glad I did not stay at Grand Californian.

Better than Disneyland...especially for older kids

By Ana Maria A |

Disney California Adventure loved it! The avengers game is the ultimate! But better yet, the roller coaster of the incredible! That's 10/10!
Wear comfortable but waterproof shoes please! And leave the attraction of the river where they get wet at the end, or at the beginning, without poncho if you get wet! And do good, so you don't carry the poncho all over the park give it to someone who doesn't have it and will barely get on!
Well worth it, we liked it a lot more than Disneyland, it was my husband, my 10-year-old daughter and me. She is 1.28 cm tall and without a problem she could climb everything!
Since we stayed at the Disney hotel, we were able to enter the park earlier and climb first to the avenger game. It is a plus to stay at the hotel, plus you walk out of the hotel to the park.
We thought the preferential entry also applied for Disneyland but no, not every day they have it, so check that detail.
And here we met stitch!!!

Great place to play, eat and make memories!

By angelakwilson78 |

California Adventure for our family of mostly teens was wonderful. Get there early and use the Genie+ app to do rides all day. Food options were great. Incredicoaster and Guardians of the Galaxy were favorites, along with Goofy Sky School and the Symphony Swings. We were disappointed to only be able to do Cars ride once because of lines and Genie+ didn’t allow fast passes on it. But we spent a full day and everyone enjoyed the rides, the food and the ambiance. Highly recommend World of Color. Watch from the bridge with no extra charge but have someone scout a spot by 8pm for a 9:30 show. It’s worth it!! To see our youngest’s eyes light up was worth any inconvenience! Big kids loved it too!

Here the magic continues

By Alejandro0203 |

Disneyland was the first park and that's where it all started, but it's mostly for younger children.
If you have teenage children and you only want to visit one of the two, this is the park.
For my part, I love the Disney parks, so if you can visit both, don't hesitate.

FUN!

By Bev B |

I love coming over to Disney California💘. Rides are fun & the shopping is great! Special Event for Halloween is closing the park down @ 6:00 pm but I was still able to enjoy the park up until this sold out event. Buy a Park Hopper ticket to enjoy Disneyland & California Adventure Park on the same day🥰

We were able to ride every ride

By Pukeonthestreet |

Might've missed a couple. But still the small size is nice. Took all day and night but we got it done. Besides the cars ride breaking and being told to just leave everything else was good.

Finally Visiting Radiator Springs! :)

By Allison M |

We had an absolute blast during our first visit to California Adventure Park. The crowds weren’t too bad, but certain areas were congested. We loved the Radiator Springs area. It was really nostalgic for our teenagers, who loved Cars when they were younger. The Radiator Springs Racers ride was amazing. It was the longest line of the day, but everyone agreed that we were glad we waited. The food at Disney was far better than both Sea World and the SD Zoo.

Magical experience! Disneyland captures the imagination and brings joy to all. A must-visit destination for all ages!

Perfect Day

By Hollie E |

We had a full day at Disney California Adventure Park in September 2023 and it was absolutely amazing. We did pretty much everything we'd hoped to do and met so many characters! Our favourites were in the Marvel section, we were pleased that we got to meet Loki (and he barely had a queue) but we also had a great interaction with Dr Strange who did a 'magic trick' for us.

All the staff were so lovely, the guy who told me I was covered in 'Pooh' (was wearing a lot of Winnie merch) had me and my friends in stitches whenever we remembered it for the rest of the day. I got frustrated trying to book a table at a particular restaurant on the app because it wanted an American phone number so eventually asked a cast member for help, they sorted it within seconds.

We got on all the rides we wanted to - I would hit the Marvel rides first thing in the morning, we walked straight onto the Spider-Man Web Slingers ride which was so much fun.

One of the photographers took professional photos of us in front of the Ferris Wheel, he was so lovely and had all the time in the world for us to get some amazing pictures. He had great pose suggestions and one of them is literally my favourite photo of me and my friends ever.

Cannot recommend this enough, I just wish we'd had the opportunity to come to the Halloween evening event! But our day was absolutely perfect, thank you Disney!!

Interesting alternative to Disneyland themes!

By Richard F |

This was our first time visiting California adventure Park and it seemed pretty good overall. The Guardians of the Galaxy ride was absolutely a blast!

It’s good to arrive early before the lines get too long. We noticed that by the afternoon it was easily an hour long wait for certain rides.

Disney sells a lightning pass and I noticed that a lot of people were able to get on rides a lot quicker but you had to pay $20 extra ticket.

Disney doing what they do best!!!

By Vacation_Commander |

I'm not sure where to start. This was our first-ever trip to Disneyland in California. The way the schedule worked out, we went to California Adventure first.
The theme designs of each land were great, but none more so than Cars Land. It really gave you a vibe of walking through Radiator Springs. Avengers Campus was neat and I'm glad to hear that it's expanding. Both Spiderman and Mission: Breakout were phenomenal.
We also went during Pixar Fest, so we got to try a lot of good food and meet some Pixar characters that we've never met before.
The two biggest surprises for us were the Incredicoaster (which we ended up riding multiple times and the Ferris wheel. I had no clue that some of the gondolas moved around on a track as the Ferris wheel also turned!
We were able to easily ride and do everything in this park in one day which was also nice. This was in large part to the single-rider line at Radiator Springs Racers which we rode twice and only had to wait a fraction of the time.

Simply Incredible!

By beachykeen17 |

Our family was raised on Disneyland. None of us had been to the park in decades, so we were pleasantly surprised by California Adventure.

Every touch was a delight! The colors, the architecture, the food - it all combined for the ultimate California experience.

Pro tip: you can take the sourdough bread home in your luggage. Highly recommend doing so (freeze it when you get home to enjoy later). It’s true San Francisco sourdough - tangy!

A great time, know which rides have a tendency to break down.

By bm93travel |

A great place to spend the day, and make sure you stay for the water show at night. The guardians ride and webslinger ride tends to break down a lot so have backup plans accordingly.

It's what I expected. An "OK" experience

By Phil W |

It's what I expected and what I paid for. Packed fun. The crowds were huge and the genie pass was somewhat of a scam as you are locked out of booking another experience for another 1.5 hours (what's the point?). We found the single rider lines worked better than the genie service.

What was good was that you can bring food and water into the park.

Parking was $30 prepaid, and somewhat of a zoo ordeal.

Overall, it was OK, but I've had my fill of Disney for another couple of years.

Disney Donts.

By Dorian L |

Goint to Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park on a recent weekend on a saturday was eaily one of thee worst trips to Disney i have ever had. Disney is always packed GOT IT. But the new reliance on the APP is a complete and utter failure on Disney's part.
Couple of recommendations. Especially if you plan on park hopping on a single days visit on a crowded weekend day.
Genie+ DON"T it is a RIPOFF. There were only a couple times we could have used it and we would have bneen on the other side of the park. Contacted Emily through support on the chat app, and was told sorry but no refunds.
The app is the best way to order food. Or atleast thats what they say. The lines for the food are almost as long as the lines for the rides. So yeah they PUSH you to use the APP. Ok we did this trip twice the year. First time. My wofe could not get any food orders to go through on the app. This time it was my turn to not have the food app portion work. Seriously Walt is spinning in his cryo chamber. There is non stop advertising that the app and genie + are going to make your day better. The ads are all over the way into Disney and within it. This is by far not the Happiest place on earth. I have so many Ill feelings that they own to properties i dearly love,(Marvel and Star wars) and i am sick that the Genie, made famous by the woirk of a true great Robin Williams is being used to rip off the folks. My suggestion if you dont want to give refunds for Genie+, then make sure it has a disclaimer at the very least to warn your paying customers that the use of it when the park is full is limited. Otherwise put some sort of a projected value indicator in there, that fluctuates witht he park being full.

Fun but Breakdowns Annoying

By Sarah Power |

We preferred this park to the Disneyland Park across the way. It is smaller and has less rides so probably makes it less crowded. We started our day here, figuring that most people would start in Disneyland and I think that was the correct choice to make.

We got on Goofy's Sky Ride and Spiderman really quickly and loved them both. We had lightning lane for Radiator Spring Racers which ended up working really well for us. My husband genuinely didn't realise that you had to scan all 4 Genie+ bookings to go down the lightning lane so the first time he did it, he only scanned 1 and we all just walked through behind him. We realised a bit later than you're supposed to scan all 4 and that we could go through again and use it, so we did!!!

It was disappointing that the Grizzly Rapids was closed for most of the day, we really wanted to go on that. It finally opened late afternoon and so of course everyone ran for it and the queue was horrendous. The lightning lane app wasn't updated for it so that was no use. We decided to give it a miss which turned out to be the right decision as it was only open for about half an hour before it closed again. Also the Incredicoaster was closed for much of the day which meant my husband and son missed out on it.

We unexpectedly met Mickey Mouse on our way out of this park - wasn't expecting to see him in this park but it was great as it only took us 5 minutes to meet him - the queue was 2 hours when we went to Disney Paris!

Awesome park

By Aman Verjee |

Super park and experience - the theming in this park is among the best in the Disney universe. Roides are great - can't miss Incredi-coaster and Radiator Springs Races!

Worth a visit

By Ashraf M |

We were aiming for Disneyland but got the adventure park. It is still very nice, we had the genie + which helped us get to as many attractions as we could. The kids particularly enjoyed the incredicoster. It closed early that day at 5 which was initially disappointing, but because of that, we were able to get hopper tickets after it closed.

Lightening pass is a scam

By 2015Lil |

This park is attractive and fun to walk around however be aware that the lightening pass wasn’t available on the guardians of the galaxy for the vast majority of the day and not at all for Soarin’.l on the day we visited.
We luckily noticed the lightening pass became available for guardians at one point only late in the day and got onto it but you may not be as lucky.

Excellent day in the park!

By D0ubleK2 |

Loved our family trip to the park. Avengers Campus is awesome, with WEB Slingers as our new family favorite ride. It’s so much fun, but just cruising around the park, enjoying the experience and all additional rides, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Soarin, Radiator Springs Racers, Incredicoaster, and Toy Story Mania, made for a great day!

Brilliant Disney Park

By Leanne Culina-Penza |

Same amazing quality experience you expect from Disney, with some of the best rides of all time in this park. Some wait times can be long, so grab a Lightning Lane pass if you can. World of Colour at night is always an amazing spectacular to enjoy too.

Fun Times but start early

By K C |

DCA was an awesome park. We did a 1 day with park hopper and started here. We did rope drop and headed straight to Cars Land and Radiator Springs. By the time we got to the line it said 85 minutes but when I asked I was advised to go now. It took about 30 minutes! The ride did have an issue right before we got on and it was delayed 5 minutes but other than that it was great.

We had the lightning lane multi pass so I booked web slinger while waiting for Cars. We loved web slingers and booked Monster’s Inc using our LLMP. On our way to Monster’s Inc we went on to Pym’s test kitchen for the quantum pretzel and a delicious proton punch. Our reservation was ready for Monster’s so we went there and then off the Animation Academy and learned to draw Ursula!

Disneyland
Now it is time for us to park hop so we used a LLMP to book Smuggler’s run but had to wait an hour. And this is when the lightning lanes were few and far between or just hours later. We booked Mickey and Minnie’s railroad adventure and then headed to the room for a break and to get food to our room. Right before we left we booked Soarin and the Cars individual Lightning Lane. Compared to DCA, Disneyland was overcrowded.

Evening return
We came back for Soarin early and checked out the children’s play area which was fun. We did Soarin and headed to Cars for our reservation and were so thankful because the line for stand by was 185 minutes. Our day was done!

Would I recommend two days, yes! Would I do a park hopper at least one day, yes! Would I do LLMP, yes, but it is only worth it in the morning until about 1 pm. By the time we came back around 4, there were only about 2 rides that offered any lightning lanes and the park was not closing early for Oogie Boogie night.

Great park

By lucycan |

We went for 2 days to this park. This is the "sister" park to DisneyLand. It has some great rides such as the Incredibles coaster, Cars, and Spiderman. Overall it takes less time (for us at least) to complete than Disney. The food is similar and, as always, is a great park for kids of all ages.

Another fantastic park

By L_K1509 |

Arrive early to enjoy more rides
Clean park throughout day
Loads of places to sit on benches or walls and plenty of places to eat and drink
Very colourful park
Best rides I think are Guardians of the galaxy, Soarin and Radiator springs car race.
Tip! Use single rider lane for car race, so much quicker. We went single rider and ended up in the same car twice. Car seats 6.

My visit was on a Thursday. Cost was $104. I love being in this park around Lunar New Year. I was able to do all my favourite rides in the morning. Soaring, Radiator Spring in Carsland and Guardians of the Galaxy are my top 3. I also did Toy Story, Monster Inc. and the Little Mermaid. I had lunch at my favorite place Cocina Cucamonga. I finally got to try the carne asada which was delicious. Loved that it had guacamole. I had the strawberry roulade from Paradise Garden Grill which was lovely. It had pieces of strawberry! What a refreshing snack. Dinner was honey walnut shrimp wrap from Lucky Fortune Cookery. It was flavourful and filling. Cost was around $15.

Good visit

By david m |

My family and I had three day park hopper tickets. We only spent one day at California adventure. We found it fun but there were not as many rides for our kids. Yet, we did eat at giradeli chocolate and we had ice cream. We had lunch at flos cafe. It was fun.

No Restroom for Kids.

By James H |

Take my grand kids to the Restroom and find out there is NO Toilet stall for kid. The only reason we going to Disneyland is for the kids. The restroom do have handicap stall.

Surprisingly crowded, but still did what we planned

By fossilprep |

WE attended in January because it is said to be sparsely attended during the week. However the park was packed every day! The rides kept breaking down, the cars ride is the most popular ride in the park, and it was operational only half the day, in dribs and drabs. Multiple times we were in line and the ride broke down and we had to leave. We got the Genie Plus, which helped us ride every attraction at least once. But the crowd was significant, few guests wore masks, there was absolutely no social distancing.

Disney California Adventure Park was Amazing!

By Traveller314 |

We spent three days in the Disney park, and one day in the California Adventures park. It was an amazing time. They say you're never too old for Disney, and it's so very true. The whole experience, from the shops, to the restaurants, the amazing rides for all ages, and the convenience of using the Disney app, we had an absolutely wonderful experience there. And we can't wait to go again.

Disney adventure no better than disneyland

By Jennifer C |

Too expensive, too crowded. Rides break down frequently and there isn't much to do for the cost of admission. The staff seems lazy and uninformed.

Huge lines that make it not worth it

By catax |

Terrible queue management. Minimum 100 minute wait at Radiator Springs and they only let those in the fast lane pass. As if the rest of us had not paid entry.
A shame.
The rest is fine without further ado.
Every now and then the attractions break down.
And the Genie is a bit of a scam, good attractions have to be paid for separately.
Ultimately, disappointing.

Long waits

By frank1e |

We recently visited the 2 disney parks in california the parks were very expensive for food and drink and the attractions had extremely long waiting times if you are going just to visit disney you would be better going to Florida. We were there as it was part of a multi city trip.

Expensive but worth the cost

By Joanne H |

This is the second time I have been, but it has changed dramatically since I was last there, I really liked this park, there are plenty of different areas and things to do. The park is unlike any of the ones in Florida so it made an interesting change
The theming was very good everywhere, there are plenty of places to eat, although it was quite busy, the wait times for rides were not to bad
To get to the park you have to park in a multi story car park and take a tram which off loads into a large plaza from which you can go to either park or Downtown Disney, if you want a mobility scooter or wheelchair it is the furthest point from the tram which seems odd to me
At the time of the visit due to COVID protocols we had to make reservations to enter the parks, without one you cannot go to the parks, i hope this is dropped as I like to be a bit more free with my days
Well worth visiting

Experience= Great, Shade= None

By MrBraeden |

We really enjoyed this park, although it may not be as great as Disneyland. This park has some really good rides like Web Slingers and Radiator Springs Racers, and very immersive lands. We absolutely loved the water show as well. This park may be less organized and randomized and more “carnival” like, it’s still a decent experience nonetheless. My only major complaint is that this park has little to no shade, and it gets very miserable at times (not experience, heat).

Less crowded than Disneyland

By bellevue1 |

We visited Disneyland/DCA 3days Hopper tickets with Genie plus and also purchased two individual LL for DCA. DCA was less crowded compared to Disneyland when we visited. Certainly get the Genie plus and arrive at rope drop will help.
We got the individual LL $18/each for Radiator Spring Racer (loved it) and Webslinger (not worth it) in my opinion.

Good relaxed exercise

By Donna M |

Enjoyed very much
This time I enjoyed this park more than before and had a more relaxed and better experience than Disneyland although still very over priced especially merchandise

Small but fun with lots of food options

By ClaireleecherrySFEB |

1 day is more than enough to enjoy DCA. You could even do a half day. We went from 2 PM to 11 PM and used Lightening Lanes and Single Riders.

Lots of places to sit, enjoy snacks and soak in the atmosphere.

World of Color is absolutely amazing. It is the best show at the park.

We didn’t do all of the rides and Lightening Lanes can run out by mid-afternoon. If you go at rope drop or do early entry, you might want a park hopper so that you can jump over to DL or go back to your hotel to rest.

Magical Day

By Wilona |

We had an absolute blast exploring Disney California Adventure! From the thrilling rides at Avengers Campus to the stunning World of Color show at night. The atmosphere was perfect for our family's day out.

Fun in spite of the rain

By DonnaDee2012 |

The park staff were all very helpful and they did their best to continue activities around the rain. They also keep the park very clean. We would highly recommend making your Disneyland pass a Park Hopper pass. Being able to cross back and forth between the two parks worked great. Also adding the Lighting Lane to your pass is recommended. We found it helped us fit in at least once on each ride, and more on the ones we really enjoyed. For the Cars Racers you need to shell out an extra $18 per person to use the Lightening pass but regular line is always available at no extra cost. There were 7 of us but they were very accommodating at keeping us together as they boarded us on rides. Lots of great places to have a snack or a meal. Would be nice if they had more benches around the park by the rides where people can sit and wait for family.

California Adventure is great

By Jodee H |

Love California Adventure. The incredicoaster is a great ride and they have a bunch of rides that are not offered in WDW. As much as I dislike Genie this was so useful during our visit. It will never be as great as MaxPass but it worked fine. Unfortunely Radiator Springs Racers was down both days we had in that park so unable to ride it.

Very enjoyable day

By JeannineBC |

After a full day at Disneyland, my adult daughter and I had a day planned here. We had chosen our rides, food we wanted to try and experiences to be had. We had our lightening passes so on the day we planned our day based on wait times (that we can skip with our passes) & how high our desire for the ride was. What we found quite quickly upon arrival is that the rides closed down on a regular basis so that was hard for planning and for using our lightening passes. Booking your time slot didn’t work with the closures and the lines were much longer as there were all the people who had tried to use their passes, the lines were almost as long as the standby lines in some cases. The rides did reopen fortunately, you just need to monitor the ride through the app.
Despite the closures, we were able to go on all the rides we were interested in with my favourite being the Guardians of the Galaxy. What an amazing thrill ride!! Grizzly River Run was a of fun and the Incredicoaster was amazing: thrilling, terrifying and exhilarating. We also went on the Palaround Ferris Wheel, Web Slingers and Golden Zephyr which were also fun. The only one we were somewhat disappointed in was Web Slingers. We felt that they could have made that a lot more than they did.
Like Disneyland, food, drink and merchandise are expensive but you have choice as to whether or not you purchase.
We were so impressed with the cleanliness of the environment.

A lot of wait…

By Pedro C |

90 minutes to wait on line, mostly because other people payed $$$ more to get ahead of the line. A good learning principle about how capitalism screw you.

A fun day-long visit to Disney Cali Adventure

By Medha |

Very nice rides. The Incredicoaster is a must! Many places to visit. Magical experience. Bring a lot of money to spend there because you can buy stuff (a little overpriced tho)

World of Color Dessert Party

By BeenTo7Continents |

We did the World of Color Dessert Party. You get a reserved table and chair to sit down at during World of Color. We each got unlimited hot chocolate, water and soda. We don't drink alcohol so I didn't pay attention to that but I think there is something included for that too. Most importantly we each got a big dinner plate full of desserts, cheeses, cracker, and fruits. They also gave us each "to go" boxes so my husband and I finished our selections the next morning for breakfast. Great to sit down after 20,000 steps that day.

Fun day

By TMarie1980 |

We loved this park. Our favorite rides were Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy. Lots more space go spread out and you can get a beer.

Corporate greed

By Nickstbo |

We were amazed at how greedy Disney has become. Sure, it is a business, but it used to have a little magic at least. We paid $137 per person to enter the parks. Several rides broke down while we were there: Incredicoaster broke down 2 times, Webslingers 2 times, Cars 1 time. The problem is that once a ride has to close; the people move to another ride, only adding more waiting times to those rides. Unless if you are willing to pay up. On top of your $137 ticket, Disney expects you to pay $15 to skip the line or purchase Genie+. The experience was so bad and corporate greed was seen everywhere. I am so disgusted that I am cancelling my Disney+ subscription even. Don’t want to give them another dollar. Cast members are rude. The rides, once you get on, are fun. But only after a 2 hour wait or after paying extra dollars. Shame on you, Disney ;) Pure American capitalism!

Disney has lost touch with their roots

By Wayne W |

We travel from Australia regularly to visit Disney parks. On this occasion Security at the gate, with no idea of customer service or what Disney is supposed to be, decided to test my sunglasses by pushung down on them until they broke. Spent weeks emailing customer service who did everything but actually call me a liar, then after 6 weeks agreed to pay me $50. Thinking I would make it easier for them, I asked them to do something for my daughter who was going to Disneyland instead of the $50, single line response was "I will only give you the $50" they sent a US check in the mail which is pretty much useless in Australia. Disney has lost touch with their roots, disgraceful customer experience.

Terrible

By Cathy F |

The park is to crowded. Why do a reservations system if you are going to let everyone in. My family members waited 3 hours to go on the cars ride.the have taken most the rides for the little ones. Disney sucks with there gread. Money money money dont spend your money .

DCA is less cohesive than Disneyland in terms of theming

By Road52245042644 |

DCA is less cohesive than Disneyland in terms of theming, but there are still some good rides and the shows are arguably better (currently the Rogers theatre, as well as things like Disney Jr Dance Party and Turtle Talk with Crush, the Spiderman show where the aerial leap is quite something).
The World of Color is also simply unmissable I think.
The major disappointment was that we didn't get to ride Radiator Springs Racers as it was down the day we were there, only opening in the evening but without Lightning Lane so it was a 120 minute wait which with tired kids we didn't think was do-able. Shame as it was one of the rides across Disneyland and DCA that we were most looking forward to

Horrible, I won't come back again

By Bruna Y |

I give it 1 star because it won't let me give it 0.
The truth is horrible experience, lines of two hours everywhere, the employees are super unfriendly and they treat you like cattle, one common pass and 30 with a fast pass, you feel discriminated against for not having a fast pass. It seems like they do it to your liking
The wait is horrible, if you want to go to Disney I recommend Disney in Orlando, I went when the fast pass existed and the treatment and the games and the wait are vastly better without comparison
If you want to go to a park in California I recommend Universal over Disney (I went to both in California and Orlando, both are good in Orlando but Universal is much better in California)

Rides broke down so that was disappointing

By Abbie G |

Liked it but some of the rides broke down which lessened the experience. I understood why and that it happens but Guardians of the Galaxy had one break down right before us so we had to wait maybe 15-20 min. And then we had The Little Mermaid break down twice the one time we rode it. The kids loved Guardians but I didn't:) my absolute favorite ride was the new Cars ride. It went faster than expected and we ended up racing my nieces which was absolutely fun! Still a fun experience but I always enjoy Disney better:)

Disney always the best

By valyfilm |

If you prefer dark rides to rollercoasters then this is the right place. Wonderful in every single aspect and with the fascination of the movie characters.

Fourth Of July Fun

By Robert G |

My family and I love traveling here at least 2 or 3 times a year. First time here on the 4th of July and was such a fun and magical experience. Hopefully be back for Christmas time

Incredible experience

By Erik1919 |

I'm a fan of theme parks, and I have to say that California Adventure is an exceptional park, with lots of attractions and entertainment. Prices are very expensive compared to the European average, but in line with other parks in the surrounding area and in Orlando. Give yourself two days to really enjoy everything, and don't miss the World of Color night show.

Constant breakdowns and crazy long lines

By DutchMachine |

The park in itself was nice enough. The reason for 2 stars, was the constant ride break downs. Waiting in Guardians for an hour only for it to break down and then increase the waiting to 3 hours is not exactly good when you pay the prices Disney charges.

Other rides constantly broke down as well which was super frustrating.

The theming was nice, and we had a good time at Pixar Pier, but other than that we weren't able to explore the rest of the park due to the breakdowns.

Super disappointed in Disney for that

I didn’t expect this.

By John O |

Security allowed three people to line jump, because they were 18 years old and they were with a group. They were graduating high school students and the adult chaperones didn’t have a problem with it either.

Best park ever!

By boymomdfw |

Such a great park! Love Avengers Campus. Love Pixar Pier. We enjoy all the rides at this park. It's really fun! The Genie Plus was helpful to get on the big rides. Do the Radiator Springs single rider line if you don't want to spend money on the lightning lane.

Amazing Theme Park

By Hitcher84 |

I am not a theme park person, but the teens had a lot of fun at this place. It is part of the Disneyland Resort in California and literally across from the iconic Disneyland Park. While it is not as "classic" as Disneyland, it is just as amazing and I can see how some might like it better than Disneyland. The rides are generally more thrilling. Like Disneyland, the park is divided into several areas like Avenger Campus, Cars Land, and Pixar Pier. The Incredicoaster is a really nice roller coaster. Radiator Springs Racers is also a fun ride. Soar around the world is a flight simulation with a large screen that takes you to various sights around the world. The Spiderman ride is a fun, interactive experience, and the spiderman show is pretty cool. There is a Guardians of the Galaxy ride with a drop that is fun. The park closed a couple of hours before Disneyland, at ten.

Magic of Disney

By Jktchorne |

Disney never disappoints! Another park we fell in love with full of magic and memories.

We loved all the different lands, specially Marvel, Cars land and Pixel pier. Our favorite ride is Guardians of Galaxy.

Only complaint we have is the food. Really expensive and not good. Are serval places and it was bland.

Dissssney :-)

By Brownleys24 |

I absolutely love everything about Disney :-)) My husband and son loved meeting the Star Wars characters. It was everything I expected busy/expensive but who cares. I have waited years to see the wheel with Micky Mouse on!! I will be back :-)))

Original park

By germain b |

The positive points: Much easier park to visit, much fewer queues than in the other park, and lots of characters. The main attractions: Cars, Tower of Terror, Spider-man, the Ferris wheel, the Incredibles, the bear. Magnificent final show.

Cons: Unannounced character releases. Attractions breaking down regularly. Lack of consideration for people who do not have a Fast Pass.

Notes Regarding Disability Services and Guest Services- WILL COME BACK AGAIN!!!

By Holidayna |

Wonderful Guest Services and Cast Members. I spoke to DJ about an issue I had on park visit date 10/15/2022, DJ was patient, kind, thoughtful, and worked incredibly hard to address issue which was outside of everyone's control. I honestly wasn't sure that there would be a resolution to my unique visit concern, however he worked with the entire Guest Services team to brighten up my and my daughter's day. They worked relentlessly to come to a resolution. DJ, Colin, and Sarah were all working together on the tech side. Sarah recently was trained, but I had no idea because she was so poised, put together, and work beautifully under pressure. I had a lot of guests in the same room, and Sarah handled everything like a champ. Colin clearly has been working in customer service for a while. DJ was simply the best. The whole team acted as if I was the most important guest in the room, and I saw that they treated those around me with the same amount of care and attention. Disney California Adventure Park has some of the best Guest Service staff of any hospitality/entertainment organization that I've ever had to work with. I will rebook and revisit Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park again based off of that experience alone, and I'm a hardcore East Coast Disney World fan!

Park Info- I really like the Genie+ service and lighting lane options as they are far better than Disney World options. A member of my party is a double amputee and uses prosthetics and an electric wheel chair. The cast members used appropriate language when asking about his ability to walk comfortably outside of his chair which was something I really appreciated. Cast members were very accommodating and polite. We had a much better experience at Disneyland/Disney California Adventure Park versus Disney World Parks regarding disability services and ride/park accessibility. Staff clearly are well trained.

Typical Disney Fashion - It was fun!

By euli |

From a South East Asian traveler's perspective, this was a really good theme park. We had only been to Hong Kong Disneyland before this and our expectations were surpassed. Loved almost every ride. Although when we went, we were faced with power outages due to the heatwave and many rides either stopped halfway or were not operating, we still had a blast.
Caution to those with a faint heart, the rides at Avengers Campus is not for you. Even as a regular healthy person, my adrenaline probably shot through the roof! But it was a blast!
My kids aged 18 and 9 loved it!

Fantastic.

By Mardipp |

We really liked our day in the park.
In comparison to the Disney Parks of Orlando this California is much quieter to do.
Even being July( summer and holidays) we managed to enjoy a lot.
I still managed to return to our hotel to give a rest and return to enjoy the end of the afternoon and the night the park.
We stayed at Hotel Clarion very close to the parks.
Main detail of this park is the area of the film cars.
Fantastic mostly at night the lighting is beautiful

Skip this park and just go to Disneyland

By Rebecca I |

Skip this park and just do Disneyland.
Broken rides, excessive queues, waiting in line for ages only to be told the ride is closing…this sums up our day.
We had a great time at Disneyland and visited the adventure park 2 days later and it was a huge disappointment.
If we had our time again we would just visit Disneyland and flag this park altogether.
Waste of a day and waste of money.

By michelle c |

What a day
Back to childhood
Rides galore
Get Genie pass but read before you get to park
Take more than one day
Open 8-10
Food pricey. So if you can take you own do so

Living the dream, knowing Walt walked the walk here for his daughters.

By Sally B |

A Daytrip where dreams really do come true. Every corner brings new experiences, go for it. Rides are nearly all family focussed, don't be scared, they are there to enjoy not to scare you.

Awesome family experience back open for you

By TonyFi18 |

Wow, so great that the park is back open. New Star Wars and other theme rides and experiences are best ever. Covid safe, well managed. Perfect for the whole family.

Another Great Adventure

By Single Mum Travels |

Like Disneyland head to Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park to collect a Birthday badge for anyone celebrating a birthday while there. We had a fantastic time here, recommend eating at Pym's Test Kitchen for something different. Also we came across Redwood Creek Challenge Trail which we hadn't noticed before, my son had a fantastic time playing in there and it was a welcoming very quiet break from the noise of the park. Just note kids 12 and under can do the flying fox in there, but he turned 13 while on our trip so he then couldn't do that part anymore it still didn't stop him doing the rest. Favourite rides were Monsters Inc., Toy Story Mania and Web Slingers. Cannot wait to come back again.

New Lightening Lane System Is Not Good

By Chris R |

The good:

Cool Halloween decorations.
Friendly cast members.
Clean park.
Good atmosphere.

The bad:
Way over crowded (even mid week).
The new lightening lane / genie system. The system makes you feel like you have to spend a substantial amount of time buried in your phone rather than enjoying the park. The cost of a Disneyland / California Adventure visit is not cheap. Tickets, parking and food are pricey. This new lightening lane system seems like a way for Disney to dig more into your pocket. Having to pay extra costs (per ticket - per ride) on the popular attractions is ridiculous. Not to mention after you pay the extra cost then you have to stand in a long lightening lane line. The system is bad and needs to be replaced.

Do NOT attempt without a plan

By etonmymind |

We live in Seattle but have been pass holders for many years. It's so fun to run down to to Disneyland for a fix for a few days! However, what people need to understand is that the days are OVER where you just *showed up* to Disneyland. In order to maximize your experience you absolutely have to research the use of the Genie Plus pass as well as the expected waits for your favorite rides. Have. A. Plan. The internet is your friend. Tons of bloggers have figured this out for you!

And yes, this does take the magic out of it. It's not like it was when I was a kid or even when I was a young adult. But if you don't adapt to the new reality, you're going to be out thousands of dollar and be extremely frustrated. Not to mention sad kids, which is the worst part of it.

What a fun park!

By Kevin B |

We visited the park for the first time in February and we had a really good time despite it being rainy and cold. The Avengers area is really fun and I hope they continue to expand it as it's really well done. The Pixar Pier is also super fun and the rides and snacks there are yummy (the red hot churro is amazing!). We didn't explore much of the Pacific Northwest area as it was so cold, but that seems like the perfect place to be on a hot summer day. It's a really nice park overall and it's definitely complimentary to Disneyland. We'll be back!

Could be a lot better!

By Vera Soeiro |

It was funny, but there was a lot of people. Rows that took a long time and some fun wasn't working.
Worst of all, we waited to see the fire at the end of the day and they said it wasn't going to happen because of the wind. There was no wind. We were really very sad.

Cool Theme Park

By Dave L |

Cool Park with diverse range of attractions for people of all ages. This was our first visit. We were here on a Friday in February. Crowd was bigger than I expected. Our typical wait was 30-45min, with 90min being the longest [Spider Man]. The Cars ride is a Must Do. Guardians of Galaxy is very cool. Spider Man is done very well. Soarin' is one of our favorites. There were not any night time displays at this time, kind of disappointing. The walk from parking garage to park entrance is long, and ideally there would be transportation options. We spent about 10 hours at the park and accomplished enough. I recommend it.

Very Disappointing

By Heather C |

It was a cloudy day with intermittent periods of light rain. It was a nightmare trying to get into the park with long lines. There were only 4 entry stations open, with several closed. Everyone stood in the same lines, so people without bags had to wait in the same lines with people who had bags that needed to be checked. This was very frustrating.
All outdoor coasters and thrill rides were closed from around 1:00 pm to close. Many of the indoor thrill rides were closed due to technical problems. We had purchased 4 - one day base tickets and paid extra for lightning lanes for each ticket. We weren’t able to ride many of the rides due to closure and were only able to ride one ride with our lightning lane purchase.

After visiting Disney World numerous times over the years, Disneyland was a huge disappointment. Management needs to do better!!!

Enjoyed our time there.

By Wayne B |

This was our first time visiting California Adventure and was very pleased. We were able to go on the rides that we wanted to. Some more than once. It was crowded with long lineups but that was to expected. We found the staff to be courteous and friendly. Glad we went.

Imperdible!!!

By Wagner Corrêa |

It has simply become one of the best days of my life! Cars Land is fantastic, the best attraction in the park, no doubt! The light show is exciting and the characters are totally amazing! We love so much! It was a perfect day!

Don't visit this part often, but second time at DCA after 10 years - Had fun

By Krishnan R |

We were here July 4th as we stayed 4 days in Anaheim. Most of my visits were always at Disneyland itself. Last time I came was 10 years ago to Disneyland/CA Adventure and the last time I visited 10 years ago was California Adventure. I came with my mom for July 4th.

Plenty to do around, shows now have limited times, lots of rides. I feel they have cut back on the number of shows in recent years yet the tickets were almost $200 per person. The 2:30PM parade was very nice to enjoy "Better Together" as well as other parts like San Fransokyo and Paradise Pier.

Only downside is well, you think if it's a holiday, yes, it could be crowded. It felt more as if it was off peak, even on a holiday, which is not normal for Disneyland, but not surprising either given many factors.

While we were expecting not to have fireworks that night, not only did we see the World of Color, but also saw the fireworks from both the same spot and from Disneyland itself from a far distance. Depending on how you plan, you may need at least 2 days, but I felt given what interests most folks, this was more than enough.

We enjoyed it and will be back next time.

By Neha |

Disneyland resorts has 2 parks:
1. Disneyland
2. Disneyland adventure park

The Disneyland is more about characters like Alice, Micky, and has fantasy land etc. refer to the pics for things to do in both parks.

Submarine was a unique experience here. Don’t miss the parade and night fire works.

Disneyland adventure park has rides majorly and less characters. Overall a real magical experience for families with kids.

Plenty of Room at Disney California Adventure Park

By sueby2008 |

We enjoyed our visit to this park as it was not over crowded and we got onto most rides without too much wait time. This park is nicely spread out and has a second entrance which we used to have Breakfast at Disney Grand California Hotel by the Pool. On our last day, we had Breakfast inside the park but its best to use the app to get into the que - we're not sure if it works accurately, but missed out in Disneyland Park due to not knowing we needed to use an app to book in for Breakfast in advance. We do not recommend wasting money on the early morning pass unless you simply want to que early, but its no longer the magical 1 hour pass before the park opens.

Fantastic experience

By Edwelsh |

We arrived early walking in from our hotel at Grand Californian. We were able to see many attractions, had a nice lunch, hopped over to Disneyland, then came back for more fun. All of the different Sections have their own appeal. We just loved Cars Land with Radiator Springs Racers, the theming is unmatched. Avengers Campus is great as well, Web Slingers is very well down and tons of fun. Pixar Pier was a fun place to hang out, we love Toy Story Mania and had a wonderful lunch at Lamplight Lounge. San Fransokyo Square is a whimsical but functional place to walk through and find a bite to eat. Pixar Fest was going on while we were there, we enjoyed the Pixar themed parade and characters around the grounds. We can’t say enough about the cast members, they made my wife’s birthday so very special! The crowds were very thin in the morning, started to get crowded when we left after lunch, then was smaller when we came back late. The close vicinity to Disneyland, Downtown Disney and the Disney Hotels was a huge plus. But having all this stuff in such a condensed area, means an awful lot of people in a small space.

Pay BIG BUCKS to WAIT in Line All Day...

By azroxie |

DCA is a California themed park where the original Disneyland parking lot used to be.

Reservations (with paid ticket) are required to visit either park.

All of the attractions are more spread out more than the ones at DL. More walking. There is not much shade or places to sit. During the summer, be sure to bring a hat, neck fan, water, and maybe an umbrella (as shade, not so much for rain).

The NEW Genie + is terrible! $20 in addition to the overpriced ticket to utilize the "Lighting Lane" (formally known as "Fast Pass"). You can ONLY add it the DAY that you are entering the park and start booking your reservations one at a time...Who wants to be tethered to their mobile phone on vacation all day?

The attractions included in Genie+ are listed on the Disneyland site, not all of the rides are included.

If you want food, they try to encourage guests to order it via mobile device, instead of walking up to a restaurant when you're hungry. Most restaurants had TWO cashiers. Food is overpriced and meh.

Plus, there are not many tables to sit for dining after you order food. Very frustrating!

They took out Bug's Life for the Marvel Spiderman Avenger's Campus to keep up with Universal Studios. What a waste of space! It was the one area that parents could take their little kiddos.

It was overly crowded with swarms of people, not a fun experience. You pay hundreds of dollars to wait in line all day. There are so many other places to visit or do on vacation for a much better experience.

This was my last visit to Disney.

The characters were amazing!

By Tara G |

My nephew 5yrs and my son 10yrs has a blast seeing the Marvel characters- interactions with Spiderman, Antman, Wasp, Ironman. It really made the trip for the younger one! In general the food is pricey, but its Disney so its expected. My kids especially got a kick out of the Bing Bongs slushy drinks that come with nerds and edible straws. The World of Color show was really cool. You don't have to reserve a spot, just show up an hour before and you'll get taken down to the front row (might get a little wet if its a windy evening!) right before the show starts. Cool experience!

DCA - Not what it used to be

By Bill2100 |

As background, I have visited Disneyls California Adventure over several decades, as a young adult, a parent with young children, a parent with teen children, middle aged couple without children, and now as a grandparent taking children and grandchildren.

Our last visit prior to this November, was November 2022. My overall conclusion, DCA has definitely slipped. There are many changes, few positive.

On the positive side, the attractions are still first rate. The employees in the park still provide cheerful service, sometimes going far out of their way to be helpful.

We stayed at the Disneyland hotel (8 of us, ages ranged from 2 to 66) and found the hotel to be very good with service we would expect from Disney. We took advantage of the 30 minute early entry each day (available when staying at a Disney property).

The 30 minute early entry was great as we could visit 2 attractions before the crowds grew.

We purchased 3 day Park Hopper Tickets with Genie+ for each day. Genie+ is an extra $25/day per ticket and enables you to utilize the Lightning Lanes for various rides. The Lightning Lanes worked very well, however, we were extremely disappointed to find out (after purchase) that to ride Rise of the Resistance you must pay an additional $25 per person to utilize the Lightning Lane. You also have to pay an extra $20 per person to utilize the Lightning Lane for Radiator Springs Racers. This is just one example we found of Disney trying to extract extras $ from everyone - much more prevalent than in previous visits.

Staffing is definitely reduced, which may explain why rides stayed down longer than in the past. Reduced staffing was also evident in the walk up dining venues, food preparation and delivery was much slower than in the past.

Mobile dining (ordering online before arriving) worked well, with the caveat that you must pick an arrival window. While we were there some arrival windows were 45 minutes from placing the order. The mobile order windows did not seem well synced with actual demand at several food venues.

We estimated that Disney has removed about 75% of the previous seating areas at DCA. Benches are incredibly hard to find, a vast change from previous visits. It seems that visitor comfort is no longer a concern for Disney.

We visited during the holiday season and we always look forward to the decorations. Disney has definitely greatly reduced the holiday decorations at DCA. Areas that previously were decorated for the holidays were totally devoid of decorations, other areas had reduced coverage over previous years.

Character sightings were dramatically fewer this year. We only spotted Mickey once during our three days. Again, we concluded that the greatly reduced staffing areas also applied to the characters. We even checked out locations where the Disneyland app said we would find characters, but they were rarely present.

The food was variable among the food venues, not something new to Disneyland. We enjoy eating at the Pacific Wharf area, with many different types of food venues to select from.

Summary - Pros - attractions and employees

Cons - staffing greatly reduced
holiday decorations greatly reduced
rides down more frequently and for longer duration
Genie+ Lightning Lane does not include major rides without extra fee
Seating areas for resting drastically reduced
Very few character sightings (even where stated to be)

Conclusion - perhaps the reinstatement of Bob Iger will improve the Park experience. We will not be visiting anytime soon, until we hear that things have improved at the Parks. This is disappointing as we have greatly enjoyed our visits over the years, this one - not so much.

Just go!

We had a great time. We have been to Disney World and Disneyland now. I would definitely go back to Disneyland. We always rope dropped the park, and loved the park the first half of the day. Around 3:00, it really started to get busy but it was still manageable.

DCA is fun for everyone

By Hello_Kathleezzzy |

This park is great for the whole family or single solo Disney adults. I love Pixar Pier and Lamp Light Lounge. I have some of the best memories at this park and love how Disney keeps things changing and up to date. The best place to get sweets is Bing Bong Sweet Shoppe and Clara Belle Cow's Creamery. Visit Carsland at dusk for the lighting- look up what time the sun sets and be there a few minutes before to get your camera ready.

Don't skip it if you have the time

By SFTRVLR |

Don't skip California Adventure on your trip to Disneyland. It is worth a day in and of itself. Highlights and must do's:

Radiator Springs Racers
Cars Land- the most amazingly themed land in all of Disney Parks-wow!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout

Day 2 at the Disneyland Resort was a success!

By HappyJana |

Day 2 for my son's 13th birthday was a success. We were able to get on all the rides we wanted for the day. We got the Genie+ pass.

Only the Incredibles ride was the nicest

By enavarrete33 |

Lot of people, but rides are to short and lot of lines...The only one that was weorthy was the Incredibles ride, but so quick is over

Cars Land!

By Mark M |

What a place this is. The main draw for this was Cars Land for our Lightening McQueen obsessed 3 year old and the look of amazement as we walked into real life Radiator Springs was worth every penny. The place is amazing, so well done, well themed and clean and tidy. If you can I thoroughly recommend sticking around for when the light fades to see all the neon lit up, even the adults were amazed by it!
Going back a topic I was impressed by how well the traffic coming to the park was controlled and parked. It flowed well once through the ticket barriers (which we prepaid for - I'd recommend you do this too!)
We explored the rest of the park, my 8 year loved the Incredacoaster, said its one of the best he's ever been on!
We had some dinner in Flo's Cafe and although well themed the food wasn't great especially for the price we paid for it.
A word of warning, the Ferris wheel, do not go on the sliding cars if you have a weak stomach, even I underestimated how well I'd deal with that 🤢
It's a great day out and because we did Disney just across from it the same day meaning that we were on the site for over 12 hours and our smart watches clocked over 25k steps altogether so comfy shoes are a must!

Cracker of a time had

By Leanne Culina-Penza |

I can never rate my time at DCA high enough. Its just always a highlight. No matter how many rides you get on, how many snacks consumed or how many amazing interactions you have, you will always remember the moments you shared here. Everything was brilliant on our most recent trip and we can't wait till next time. Hitting a milestone on number of times riding Mission Breakout was also a highlight this time round.

DCA is Disabilty Friendly!

By Pr0fess0rSteve |

The Cast and the Park are friendly to disabled travelers! Radiator Springs Racers and Soaring over the World are awesome, can't miss rides!

Great Time!

By spelkey56 |

We saw everything and decided not to go on the car ride thing. Too long a wait. It was nice to get a cocktail when you wanted one and walk around with it. We had a great dinner at the Trattoria, had reservations in advance and got right in. The roller coaster was down which was a bummer and it never got warm enough for us to go on the water ride (didn't want to be wet). We had a great time.

Magical day

By holibobin |

This was our first visit to DCA and it was outstanding, the park felt spacious and we never had to wait long at all for any of the rides, There were lots of photo pass photographers which was great and they took so much time to make magical memories for us.

No customer service!

By masseria bio |

Customer service is not consider at all, we spent 2 hours in a line once and 1 hours in other 2 lines. If you consider the cost 300$ + 35$ park + 30$ Fast pass you will aspect more or at least put a maximum number of guests.

Fresh and Fun!

By RadDadTravel |

This was my first visit to Disney California Adventure Park and it was great. There is a lot to see here, but our two favorites were Radiator Springs and the Marvel area.
The Radiator Springs area is like you're actually stepping into the Cars movie and it just brings a lot of joy walking around the streets there.
If you're a marvel fan, this is a really fun part because the heroes actually come out and great people and there are even some shows.
Highly recommend the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and the Radiator Springs Racers.
The food options on this side of the park are much better too.

Lacking the Disney magic

By Lori V |

We’ve been bringing our kids (now 17, 19 and 22) to the Disneyland Resort annually since they were young. We do it up. We stay at the resort, buy park-hoppers, lightening lane multis, character dining etc. I don’t know if it’s just me getting older or the world getting more commercial, but the experience every year just feels that much more transactional. This is especially true at California Adventure, which was created well after the golden days of Disney when the passion of Walt and the imagineers could really be felt. The Disneyland Park, while crowded, still retains more of that feeling because of the hand of Walt Disney. But California Adventure is a far cry from this. My kids love the rides but the park experience is lacking. My biggest complaint is the lack of shade and seating. It seems these basic elements for public spaces are reserved for the commercial zones in California Adventure (dining and retail). So what to do? Well … @ Disney, please look at this issue. It’s an affront to your customers that already pay so much that there aren’t adequate, enjoyable spaces to sit. As for us, we may try Universal next year.

Amazing day out good value for money

By hm676866 |

Unlike our experience at the Disneyland park we really felt we got our money’s worth here and were able to do everything we wanted even repeating a couple of favourites.
We did have Genie + and were able to use it much more efficiently with everything available within a reasonable time frame.
The radiator springs ride did cost an additional $21 per person to use lightening lane which we refused to pay so queued up - despite saying 90mins the wait was less than an hour so it wasn’t too bad.
Favourites of the day were The Incredicoaster, Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout, Jessie’s Critter Carousel and Radiator Spring Racers.
We managed to do everything we wanted, repeat some faves and be done by 6.30pm

As with Disneyland the previous day queue jumping is a massive iissue that they need to sort out, it’s very galling to pay extra for genie plus and have hoards of kids and adults jumping the barrier from the standby lanes. .

Definitely a park for older children / teenagers and we had a great day.

Rides keep breaking down

By yss97 |

The main rides are still awesome, but the overall maintenance of the park seemed to be below par. We were stuck on 1 ride for 15 mins when it broke down and another for about 3 minutes. This was while we were on the ride! Other rides seem to have “temporarily closed” in them scattered throughout the day. Toy Mania was closed. The rush for Radiator Springs in the morning was crazy- by 8.30am, the standby waiting time was 90 minutes!
We had the Genie+ so it was helpful. Try booking all the high demand rides in the morning- otherwise you are waiting until afternoon/evening for the slots. Genie+ doesn’t work for Radiator Springs unfortunately - a bit of a con. The toilets were not as clean as they usually were- didn’t see any cleaning staff at all during our day there- could be better. Food and drink is expensive- but the sit-down restaurants are still fully booked. Bring your own drinks at least! Overall still an enjoyable day.

Great Theme Park, regardless of next door neighbor

By Munk |

Always a great day here. You can skip Radiator Springs and Webslinger and still have an ear2ear grin day.

DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED

By Leonardo S |

I Went on Thursday Sep 4th for my 30th birthday and the main rides ( Roller Coaster and Cars the ride) were out of service which is crazy I mean , I couldn’t believe since the park don’t have many rides for adults . I’ve Been a Disney fan for a long time but honestly from now on maybe only in Orlando - FL

Fun place!!

By Tamara |

There were fun attractions and so many characters for everyone, from the little ones to the adults!! Really enjoyed it!!

If you want to ride Web Slingers, go straight there first

By Kyle_10 |

Pixar movies (Cars, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, etc) themed rides and lands as well as Marvel themed rides and lands are in CA Adventure. When you enter the gates, both of those are either straight ahead to the back of the park or on your left hand side once you get to the first intersection inside. The actual "California" themed parts of the park on your right hand side.

We were so used to making a b-line for Radiator Springs racers first thing in the morning that we didn't think to go to the new Web Slingers ride first. Usually we would go to RSR first, then Guardians and have pretty much no wait for either. When we got off RSR, Web Slingers was already at a 50 minute wait!

Overall I think this park has the better rides for teens and adults. It's close though.

Old timer returning to DL, new to CA adventure Park - quite amazing place

By QZOCK |

I’ve been several dozen times… but new for me …
Star Wars - nice recreation of the expo planets and the Star Wars worlds.
You can meet Chew and Mando and the baby Grogu walking around.
The rides are great for the video game and younger generations, but enjoyable for the geezers like me.
Continuing on new for me: Winnie the Pooh, simple ride but excellently done.
California Adventure Park: the IncrediCoaster is indeed that.
If you go and just ride it, admission is worth it.
Roller Coaster technology has advanced to incredible levels.
Pixar ride is cute, and well done.

As I remembered, food still mediocre.
Parking and entering the park has been improved from what I remember.

Disney does a good job keeping everyone entertained.

Very good day at California Adventure Park, but intermittent breakdowns in rides

By Leslie L |

We had a nice day at Disney California Park. We had purchased Genie+ in advance which was helpful as it allowed us to bypass the long standby lines. We good not use genie+ for radiator springs. We arrived at 7.30 am and were quite far in front of the line waiting to go yo radiator springs when the park opened at 8 am, but although we walked very fast to the ride, we had to wait 50 minutes before we got our ride. The ride then broke down and we were stuck for sometime and had to cancel our genie+ confirmation for Guardians of the Galaxy as we would not make it on time for the 8.25 to 9.25 am booking. We managed to do the other rides using our genie+ without any problems. Quite a few rides kept breaking down throughout the day, including web slinger which was not available most of the morning. Nevertheless, we had a good time and enjoyed the rides and shows. World of Colour One was an excellent show.

A must visit, amazing park. A marvel lovers dream

By Fly-Wills |

An amazing park that you won’t get bored of! I could spend all morning in avengers campus. For any marvel lover this park is a must visit. The avengers campus boasts several rides including Guardians of the Galaxy - mission breakout. This is the old tower of terror that has perfectly been converted into guardians. It is easily the best ride in both parks. For any marvel or guardians fan, you have to do this ride. Even queuing is worth it, there is so much entertainment and props during the queue. Cars land is also great! The cars ride puts you on a high speed circuit, and lots of the cars characters (full size cars) drive around the area. The California area is quality, boasting a massive roller coaster ‘the incredi-coaster. A giant Ferris wheel, lake and lots of tasty food outlets. Highly recommend trying the mango beer. The Sanoma Vineyard is also nice to visit in the sun. But expect hefty alcohol prices. A hot dog along the Main Street is highly recommended for food choices. We also dined at the restaurant on the pier ‘Lamplight Lounge’, which is level with the water. We watched the light show from here, which is a must see. Chose this over the fireworks. After visiting both parks (Disneyland resort and CA) we felt CA was definitely the less busy of the two. There’s more room to walk around and not feel as busy as Disneyland resort.

great place for children and adults

By Rosie C |

We spent two days at CA Adv. Park in October 2021. Our four year old grandson loved it as did all of the adults. Go early. Buy your tickets on line prior to your visit. It was so much fun.

Crowded

By sharon k |

The park was more crowded than I expected. Kept hearing it was at 75% compacity. I'm sure it's up to 100%. Vey crowded.
