Really enjoyed downtown except for that dude that sings and plays the electric guitar. Not my thing to have him wailing over a nice quiet Sunday morning waiting to eat.

It's several blocks long and has countless fantastic stores. Good for men, women, sportsmen, and foodies. Parking can be challenging but they have several free lots as well as a big parking deck that gives you 2 hours free.

We really enjoyed downtown and went more than once.

Having lived in Bozeman my entire life, it’s true I may be slightly biased. However, it never fails that my standard for what a downtown should be have never wavered no matter where I’ve traveled. People look you in the eye and smile, the shops have local appeal and while some are “high end” they never feel snobbish. You can always walk around and feel safe, there’s no lack of maintenance, and the pride if ownership from the sidewalk to the storefront is ever apparent. Has it changed over the years? Yes, but still we can boast of our small town charm and “high end” hospitality. I will never find another one that will fit that bill as perfectly!

I really like the downtown area. They have great local shops. I didn't see any national chains. Good coffee shops and lots of bookshops. Not to crowded. The people were nice and lots of dog friendly places.

By Kati C |

The downtown is a fun, cute area! A big variety of trendy shops and restaurants. You could easily spend a few hours perusing the area. Would highly recommend Jam for breakfast, brunch or lunch!

1st time to Bozeman, as we came for the Kenny Chesney show, and we were very impressed with the city and especially downtown Bozeman. Many of the historic brick buildings have been preserved and there is truly something for everyone here. Ton's of quaint shops, restaurants, breweries and distilleries, great place to stroll on a sunny day.

By LedRobster |

Lot’s of interesting places to visit. Plenty of parking street side and in off main lots. Only downside is most shops close by eight.

This is a nice town.
Folks are friendly and helpful.
I’ll note that my husband is not caucasian and has a foreign accent, so he drew some stares.

I’ll also note that many of the young workers we interacted with were not accustomed to my husband’s foreign accent; if you have an accent not common to the region, it may help to speak slowly, be patient, and be prepared to repeat yourself. They’ll try their best.
We didn’t linger here as we were definitely outsiders and were just passing through.

Cute downtown area. I hung out there 3 times during my visit to Bozeman. The tea place was great and even had a hard to find dessert, Nanaimo bars! Delicious! I ate at Brigade and loved that. The Montana store (can’t remember the name of it) was so good I bought stuff in there two times. Very cute and fun stuff in there. They had apparel, tea towels, hats, stationary, mugs, jewelry, stickers, candles, bags, etc. the bookstore downtown was wonderful too!

I always love visiting Bozeman, and feel energized when I leave. Friendly and not too crowded, there are always new fun places to explore.

By WCOttav |

So many cute shops and galleries to explore. Great restaurants and pubs. People are friendly and welcoming. Loved how we were offered beer while we shopped at REVOLVR.

By Leslie S |

Lots and lots of restaurants, bars, coffee houses, and breweries within about a 4 block area. Lots of shops too. My personal favorite was The MontAna Quilting Co.

Bozeman is an Extremely Rascist city!
My African American friend has been called N***er several times just out of nowhere and we've only been here 1 week...those who try to hide the fact is making it worse...we can't go anywhere without disgusted stares and gestures.....ridiculous!

By Drmontana99 |

Bozeman is a great town where you can walk and bike everywhere you need to go. Restaurants, grocery stores, coops, boutiques, theaters, farmers markets. The list is endless. And you are still near to the great outdoors.

By davyd83 |

Downtown Bozeman had a terrific mix of shops (great variety), restaurants, bars and other attractions.

By Caroline L |

Definitely worth a visit. Free 2 hour parking. The architecture of the mostly brick buildings was awesome. Lots of shops and restaurants and beautifully landscaped streets. Great for all ages.

By Wanda P |

We stayed 1 day and 1 night on our trip to Yellowstone. Loved this quaint little town. Our hotel was very comfortable and what you would think of when you thought of older days. Old but, very clean and comfortable.

By Brady V |

Spent two nights here visiting and I love it. Bozeman has such an inviting vibe to it. Taking a walk downtown, they have sooo many different shops. Anything from restaurants, tattoos shops, ice cream parlors, gift shops, and bars. Take a walk downtown and you're bound to find something that will interest you.

By harryatkck |

This is the typical tourist town; crowded, full of people, difficult to drive in & get around. Some people like this. I don't!!

By Kit Summers |

Super cute downtown with restaurants, pubs, clothing stores, toy stores and more! Great free parking on the street!

By Ron K |

Enjoying 3 hours here. Shopped for vacation picture frame. Found a great one with a moose on it. I was fun going to several different stores.

By Msuangus |

What a make over,!!!
Bozeman is working very hard to make down town great.Food Bars Staff interesting things foods and people

By Melissa S |

This downtown was amazing. Just out of a postcard. So quaint and unassuming. Great little shops and eateries. Loved seeing all be pups in front of the businesses. Fun time just window shopping.

By Russel G |

One of the best Main Streets we have been in for a local town in the US. Not touristy at all and great shops with a wide variety and good places to eat. My wife says she would spend a fortune if we lived there.

By Jan S |

Spent two nights here on the way in/out for a family vacation at a dude ranch in Montana. People are friendly and shops are unique with lots of local flair.

By Ruben L |

Downtown is great it has everything from food, museums, bars, people, shopping just goes on. This place feels so alive all day and night even met nice people during my visit there.

By ABQJean |

Visited Downtown (DT) Bozeman on 08/19/18. We were extremely lucky to visit on this day because there was a very large vintage car show occurring! What a treat! There are many lovely shops & restaurants in the DT area. The DT area is very clean with beautiful hanging blooming plants. I highly recommend that you explore this vibrant area!!

By Jimbo |

Nice downtown area with a lot of food choices and good shops. Parking is easy and we enjoyed the nightlife.

By Sujata410 |

Whether you just want to sit in a cafe, check out a new cuisine or window shop, there's something here for everyone. Historical places such as Schnee's or Hotel Baxter plus new dining experiences and cute gift shops all make for a wonderful downtown stroll.

By vncoar |

Something that interested all my family. Even teen boys. Adorable town. Nice people. I could live here.

By mikeywwes |

Walkable to everywhere. This is a hiking kind of town. Most hotels offer free bikes too. Restaurants and shops and galleries. Young vibe. Street musicians. Loved it!

By mnguru1 |

Lots of good food to choose from. We found more restaurants than we had time. We found everyone in Montana to be very warm friendly and welcoming. The only unusual thing is minors have to be out of a bar by 9pm. If you go to a micro-brewery, they have to close by 8pm and they have a 3 pint a day rule. The distilleries have a 2 shot per day rule. So if you plan on visiting keep these rules in mind if they have an impact on your plans.

By Mike S. |

I grew up here four decades ago and it is not anything like my childhood memories. High quality restaurants, intriguing shops, great art galleries, and live entertainment venues abound. They were all just wish list items for me back then, which is why my wife and I left for "greener pastures." Now we wish we had stayed. Access to nearby blue ribbon trout streams, excellent ski resorts and Yellowstone Park are only an hour or two drive away. Endless hikes in the nearby mountains range from easy to technically challenging, and the picturesque lakes and waterfalls that they unlock for you just beckon the outdoor lover trapped inside. Visit Bozeman in the late summer or early fall to get the best weather. Christmas is beautiful and milder temps than you might think. Avoid the spring season, as the weather is too volatile then. The local real estate prices are climbing fast and soon will be north of ANY city in the country. So enjoy it while it still remains habitable, for soon the "crush" of tourists will be simply oppressive.

This was our 3rd time to Bozeman and each time we venture out more in Downtown and check out all of the fun and activities. Already looking forward the next time.

By Robert V |

Downtown Bozeman is billed as an historic Montana town, but with the plethora of construction, street blockages, and traffic congestion day-long in Bozeman we could not realize any historic experiences. The local Chamber of Commerce personnel were very helpful in guiding our one day availablity for our visit to Bozeman.

By iloveromance |

Thanks to our Tom Tom GPS, we almost completely missed the beautiful downtown area so I am glad that we turned around and went the other way. We loved the downtown area and wished that we had more time to explore the shops and the restaurants. This was our first time in Bozeman and the fact that we discovered the downtown area made our experience better. Looking foreword to returning.

By Stu C |

This downtown area was really neat. Lots of different shoppes and restaurants. Lots of neat art deco buildings, along with ones ranging from the 20s to the 70s. Went to one place for brunch and one for dinner. There is street parking as well as at least one lot and one garage. First 2 hours are free; and we walked the entire district in about 2 hours with brunch. Takes me back to the days when my hometown downtown shopping district was like this. Definitely worth stopping by, even if you are not a shopper.

By travelador |

Great strolling between coffee shops, boutiques and restaurants. Loved the outdoor equipment stores and the youthful atmosphere.

By amandak2782 |

Lots of cool stores to check out. Pop in and out, fins a spot to grab a bite to eat and drink, you won't be disappointed!

By Brandie B |

Main Street is full of great shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. I am always on the lookout for original, non-chain shops. On this count, Bozeman hits it out of the park. I dropped serious cash in a yarn shop, geeked out in the bookstore (at least as swell as KramerBooks in DC), enjoyed a few novelty shops, tasted spirits at the distillery, sampled a handful of dozens of beers on tap, had a fabulous brunch and several gourmet dinners and picked up new clogs and a handbag. And I didn't even go in all the stores I wanted to visit! The vibe in downtown Bozeman is fantastic with the occasional street musician, public sculpture and, of course, dogs.

By bob p |

Downtown Bozeman is full of full little shops, galleries, bars and restaurants. Fun to just wander and windowshop or to pick up cute gifts. Also- the best boot shop around!

By Amora7474 |

Bozeman has beautiful views all around, great breweries, fun shops and easy to walk around. Plus if you stay in Bozeman you’re so close to so many things and places including Yellowstone. Whether young or adult there’s some fun for all!

By Patatum2014 |

An interesting mixture of stores with most locally owned and operated. Lots of good food choices. You can't go wrong spending time walking both sides of the street from end to end.

By Robert N |

Hertz bait and switch at the Bozeman airport is beyond ridiculous. I reserved a small SUV and of course when you get there they say you get this Nissan piece of junk. If you are a Gold Member of Hertz and reserve a specific type of vehicle DON'T expect you will get it in Bozeman. Their treatment and customer service is beyond unacceptable. I will move my business to National Car Rental in the same airport. They do not practice the Bait & Switch tactics of Hertz. Rent at your own risk.

By Sherri N |

Lots of shops, Plunk great stop for vino, peek inside the Ellen Theatre. All of the old buildings give the area its charm. Nice to see the preservation and continued use.

By Kotryna M |

Bozeman’s downtown has everything. Nice places to eat , grocery shops, art galleries, amazing ice cream near Lark hotel, toy store, beauty salons, sports shops, etc. you name it!

By Eric N |

Bozeman has managed to maintain its downtown business area in spite of its big box store presence. For those wanting to stroll Main Street businesses, window shop, pause for coffee or a full breakfast, lunch, cocktail or dinner, Bozeman’s downtown is an experience in itself.

By Cathryn G |

We came into Bozeman two days before a Road Scholar tour of Yellowstone. Made one fatal error- we did not get a rental car for the two days! We did use Uber 3 times. On the second day we went to the downtown 8 block area, which contained many's different stores, from tee shirt to high end art and jewelry , breweries and just about every type of food you could want. We found the employees of all places we entered to be helpful, friendly and pleasant to deal with , even if we bought nothing. They answered questions and provided information on how to get to what we wanted. It was an enjoyable experience and we would certainly return.

By @missfarmerjojo |

Downtown Bozeman is clean & pretty with beautiful streetscaping.During summer when I visited the gardens were beautiful with lots of coloured flowers in beds and hanging baskets, it’s a very pretty town with the fabulous backdrop of mountains. A great vibe in this town I loved it.

By Robby G C |

We went to walk at the the downtown Bozeman.

Everyone were gentlemen. I saw no garbage on the streets.

We saw a guy that I had never seen before. He talked with us as if we were best friends.

30 minutes later we saw him again and he talked with us again. Everybody are so nice!

There were lots of stores.

If I would live here, I would walk often to the Downtown Bozeman.

This is a must see!

By Lani S |

The shops are more high end than I was expecting but full of mountain gear if you are interested in that. You can find casual and athletic gear.

By Erin S |

Downtown Bozeman is filled with quaint shops, restaurants and other delights. We spent a sunny Saturday afternoon strolling up and down Main Street. We popped into clothing stores, a local honey shop, and then when we got hungry we stopped into a place for food. Parking is simple also. Hassle free day in downtown Bozeman!

By Brad D |

It's always nice to walk around the downtown area, there is lots to see and plenty of restaurants to eat in. We visited several art galleries, shopped in several sporting goods shops, clothing shops, and other miscellaneous shops. In most shops we received wonderful and heartfelt greetings, and were made to feel at home in the area. They really understand how to treat customers, and none of the shops employees were on their cell phones texting or whatever most seem to be doing these days, so that was a pleasant surprise. It's enjoyable to visit a shop where the people actually greet you, and ask you if they can help you in any way. And they aren't pushy, just very nice, genuine and friendly.

By eatlocal1ofakind |

This is a terrific downtown. Lots of very interesting shops, coffee shops, restaurants antique shops and best of all lots of local one of kind shops. Including 2 independent book stores. Plenty of free parking and easy to walk

By Daryl M |

We went up one side of the Street in every store and down the next found a great place to have a burger, to reenergize !!! Ha !

By kjambro |

I was told to make sure I visit Bozeman before I leave the Big Sky area. I went on a Sunday and maybe that was my mistake because a lot of places were closed. It is just 1 outdoor clothing store after another with some restaurants thrown in. The only saving grace was Lucky Lil’s a small casino we stopped at on the way out.

By pfefmeister |

It is an attractive downtown at first glance, but when you go shopping around, the higher end stores seem to be the norm. A nice smattering of restaurants and bars, do spend a couple of hours wandering around. My wife thought it was great, but she loves to shop. Just seems like it’s missing some of that old Western charm. And the bums hanging out do not add to the charm.

By skatinggrandma |

What a great city to spend some time wandering through the shops and eating in the restaurants! We had lunch in a wonderful historic building and found an amazing quilt shop. Well worth spending some time here exploring!

By 5Wanderers |

There are fun coffee shops, restaurants and unique stores all along Main Street. Loved the hardware store.

By Waunderlust |

Fell in love with this place! Definitely some of the most fun. Lots of great things to do, love that there’s even a distillery and brewery. Great city!!

By 860elaineg |

One of the best main streets I've been on. Great to walk around, lots of shops and restaurants. Very nice homes behind the main street. I was very surprised how nice it was.

By 7PeasPatty |

Boseman is a quaint, charming, friendly town located in the valley between two mountain ranges. The architecture of the buildings are turn of the century surrounded by Montana's infamous big skies and beautiful mountain ranges in the background. There are many art galleries displaying western themed iron works and paintings along with boutiques and antique shops. There are plenty of brew pubs and restaurants with a variety of fare to choose from. A great base camp for touring Yellowstone County and surrounding areas.

By Elsa B |

Great tea café, Antique store and nice shopping. Very pretty buildings, too. However, parking is generally limited to 2 hours.

By Deb J |

Great downtown area. Very reasonably priced restaurants. Good selection of other stores.
Several really good breweries with good beers.
Easy are to walk.

By all-inclusive4me08 |

This was our first trip to Montana and Bozeman. There are not enough adjectives to describe this place! The surroundings are stunning, the people are friendly, college town vibe ( go to a football game) small town charm even though it continues to grow, much to the chagrin of the locals.
If you are the least bit outdoor oriented, you have to come and visit.
Gas is cheap, $2.59 while we were here at end of September.
No sales tax on food, liquor etc.
If you are the least bit considering a visit, make it a priority, you’ll be glad you did.
Find a vrbo or Airbnb vs. a hotel it will give you a better chance to see what’s here.

Just go!

By Traveler |

Every store has something unique. Plan to spend a whole day just walking around Main St. Catch a play, buy a souvenir, or have a bite to eat.

By dawnfleishans |

After the museum we headed downtown for lunch and shopping. Great stores, a little something for everyone. I can't wait to go back.

By Oleksandra D |

It is cozy area, nice coffee shop. not very big town, but ok. I just had problem with parking place.

By tomhemling |

Very tourist friendly area. Plenty of restaurants and entertainment spots. The city overall is very enjoyable.

By dmcnitt |

One of the best downtown destinations I have been to! There was a little bit for everyone with the great boutique shopping experiences, dining, and historical museums within walking distance. We did our share of contributing to the local economy in all categories. The people are friendly and all helpful when asking our typical “tourist” questions.

By JMAC2239 |

Quick to observe that there is no parking on the packed main street with all the activity in the evening. Rear parking is available and OK. More that a few places to eat - from hamburgers to $$$ food. Certain "blue" attitude prevails - but then it is a university town where only a few really WORK.

By paolovbossi |

I have to be honest. Coming from europe rarely the downtown of an american city (with the exceptions of sf and ny) has impressed me. The same feeling is for bozeman. Nice main street, good restaurants but no feelings.

By Deb S |

This where the life of Bozeman is - day or night. Many great places to eat, drink, & Celbrate or just have Breakfast, many Art Galleries & Studio’s ( and Art Walks on Second Friday’s of Summer and Holiday’s) Hamburgers and Fancy Clothes, Bookstores, buy shoes & outdoor gear, and even an Ace Hardware store with kool Kitchen Gadgets, it can all be found there.

By synnøve s |

Nice shops, no chain stores and lots of “local flavor” If I could wish for something I would love to see some outdoor cafes serving coffee, soft drinks and the chance to enjoy the sun.

By 812841 |

Part of the Montana charm. Parking can be tight during football season, plan accordingly. Nice shopping area as you head to the airport too.

By Pamela H |

Really a clean walkable area. We walked the whole time there....good restaurants and shopping choices all along main street within walking distance of the Elements Hotel.

By Ruhskis |

When my daughter was in high school in Colorado, the jocks that had less than stellar academic records seemed to gravitate to Montana State in Bozeman. I didn't get it until I visited recently. It's a charming town with a lovely campus with lots of opportunities for outdoor activities, like hunting, fishing, skiiing, hiking, etc. Guess those jocks were smarter than we gave them credit for!

By Lynn M |

What a cute "big" town! (Now, mind you, we are from Houston.) Our friends were ahead of us in their BIG self-driving RV and sent us a text to say how cute this town looks. Unfortunately, we, too, were hauling a large trailer and it did not appear there was anywhere to park with our large "beasts", but given the chance on another occasion, we would definitely spend some time in this town other than just driving through. So, I guess, technically, we just "window" shopped for now.

By Anne K |

Downtown Bozeman is so cool! I went for a college visit with my teen daughter. Fabulous coffee shops, bistros, craft breweries, sports shops, locally made artifacts etc make the Main Street a fun place to hang out and explore..... plus the whole place is very walkable or bike friendly. The only thing that would make it even better would be a walk zone!

By Mitchell Martin |

Very interesting mix of western wear, fine boutiques, gift shops, ice cream, whiskey bars, fine dining. Old west meets college town meets liberterian wealth

By mjc_travels |

Pleasant downtown with a variety of shops. The downtown runs for approximately 8 blocks and has shops and restaurants. We enjoyed walking around but I wouldn’t say that it is anything particularly unique. There are a couple nice tea shops.

By CM_G279 |

Went downtown with my aunt while visiting Bozeman. Lots of little shops to explore. We also saw lots of good looking restaurants to try, but alas, had already eaten. There is also a great grocery and hardware store, where I found my dishes, in the discontinued color I own, on sale!!

A hit of a day!!

By Big Big Adventure |

Could have spent more time in Bozeman. Will return and stay longer. We were on our way to Yellowstone Park.

By Laurie M |

Downtown Bozeman doesn’t offer much when it comes to restaurants. A lot of soup and sandwich restaurants. Not much variety. Plus very expensive when it comes to shopping. Wasn’t impressed. Sorry!

By S Sullivan |

Downtown Bozeman has a lot of cute shops, eateries, taverns and more. There is several different types of food offerings. If you are in the area a nice place to spend an afternoon
.

By jen-e m |

Lots of interesting shops, places to eat both for a quick snack or to get coffee along with beautiful high end galleries and inexpensive fun stores for big and little kids!
Went once with my sister and other family to walk both sides of the street and found many great stores. Got some Montana themed things to take home, an awesome rock shop and a great light lunch. Came back with our mom who can't get around so good to hit some stores we saw the day before that were closer together. I think parking would be hard during the busy graduation weekend but my niece worked downtown so we had VIP parking behind her shop. I really liked the art that was along the street and on the power boxes!

By Teresa Lewis Watts |

Downtown Bozeman is packed with interesting shops, galleries, & eateries—it’s easy to find exactly what you want to fit any occasion!

Thursday evenings in the summer, several blocks are closed off for a big music fest & street vendors.

Parking is still easily found either on the Main Street, or one block behind—what a great feeling it is to be able to park & stroll Main Street to shop & grab a bite to eat!

By Robert A |

Downtown Bozeman is a great place to hang out, walk around, shop, get a drink, and have dinner. Looking forward to going back soon!

By Nick |

It's quiet city. It has a beautiful small airport. It's a good city to access to Yellowstone National Park. It's not too far to go to North Entrance and either to West Entrance of Yellowstone.

By srpaul124 |

We were expecting a more quaint town. There was nothing special or picturesque. Specialty stores were expensive. I found a blouse that I liked, but it was $219 and nothing special. Needless to say, I did not buy it. We found a couple of nice gift shops and had a good dinner at the Montana Fish Company. Nothing to write home about.

By jbpooh |

Fun place to be, all we met were friendly and helpful. Great variety of eateries and entertainment options.

By rcaldin |

First time in southwest Montana and we were looking at potential retirement options. Visited several cities from Helena to livingston and by far enjoyed Bozeman the most. The biggest factor was downtown Bozeman. Small city feel with a lot going on. Friendly and quality shops and eateries.

We didn't get to try the local ice cream manufacturer...wilcoxsons, maybe next time.

By Kim G |

I love Bozeman and it is such a wonderful town. It is growing by leaps and bounds and MSU is by far one of the greatest in Montana. You will not be disappointed by your trip to Bozeman.

By MartiKay S |

Lovely little boutique shops, great restaurants, fun atmosphere! We spent a day taking in all of the shops and enjoyed some great food!

By C W |

Loved the public art, curb appeal, lovely planters overflowing with flowers, blade signage, and the large selection of shops, restaurants and galleries. What a fun place!

By Jon B |

We walked the town one day around lunch time, and found some great shopping, and interesting eateries. there a few specialty bars with home brewed beer and hard to find whiskey.

By Ken C |

Just passing through for a quick stay. But downtown was reminiscent of a mix of old times and college town. Shops, food places, and breweries in a small town feel.

By loribob67 |

Stayed the night in Bozeman on our way to big sky. This is the real deal small town downtown. My husband and I grew up in a similar town in Pennsylvania and it reminded us of home but so much better! Shops and restaurants galore, no chains, it’s glorious. A great place to downs the day.

By trouble-enough |

This was our first visit to the city and we found it to be very interesting. While not a trip to the Western Frontier, it was very different from the busy city life we experience in the Tampa Bay every day. No traffic jams and a very laid-back attitude. It seems peaceful and unhurried, and the folks you meet are ready to help if you need it. Otherwise, they leave you alone to enjoy their fair city.

By Cici |

I enjoyed walking the streets and looking in the fun shops. Things are priced really high, but fun to look.

By Bettina K |

Nice road with shops from little business to big chains stores , full of restaurants options , feom breakfast to dinner.

By L6Seith |

We were surprised at how trendy Bozeman was. It wasn't a small country town like we expected. It was more like a college town full of bars & eateries & shops that were very expensive. Just not what we expected.

By Karen P |

Downtown Bozeman is a blast from the past with a touch of contemporary thrown in. A mix of retail, restaurants and bars. Summertime on Thursday’s is Music on Main which is a must attend good time.

By tom_mace49 |

Visited several distillery and brewery pubs. Lots of fun small places to visit and shop😁 Parking was a little difficult.

By Jenae |

Downtown Bozeman is picture perfect, winter, spring, summer or fall. From blooming flowers, to snow piled high, it is always delightful to walk downtown and enjoy all it has to offer. From lovely sit down food experiences to grabbing homemade ice-cream or delicious coffee on the run, its so great. Shops are fun and interesting to browse in. The Ellen is so cool, catch a show there. Love it!

By Natalie R |

Cute downtown except the entire town is overrun with bums. Very unappealing. I don't like walking to my car looking over my shoulder the entire time. My hotel was surrounded on all 4 sides with bums literally living on the streets, passed out and begging. I was excited to visit here and now I'm left disappointed.

By Harriet B |

Lots of shopping and eating opportunities. Finding parking was painful.
There where signs that mentioned parking but did not direct us to an actual parking area.

By John C |

Lots of shops, and places to eat or get coffee. I really enjoyed being there. Be sure to check out Montana Angler and the western cafe1

By Terry H |

Bozeman is only 7 blocks but it packs in a lot of cool stores, coffee shops and cafes, and a lot of bars. The restaurants were surprisingly good and a wide diversity of cuisine on an around Main St.

By USN_Seabee_Wife |

Great place to spend a few hours and walk around the quirky, eclectic shops. There were lots of places to eat as well. I would suggest a cab or plan on walking because parking spaces were tough to get, especially since we have a full size pickup truck.

By Julia D |

It was literally like NYC!!! There was so many good stores for kids, teens, and adults. I love their restaurants and their GREAT food!!!

By cwby88keys66 |

We walked downtown Bozeman a d we were surprised at how many new and upcoming businesses there are in the downtown area. There is something there for anyone and everyone even with eclectic tastes. This is a surely and fun place to hang out with friends and family.

By Christina |

Great mix of small shops to explore. Easy to walk around. Scooters were just made available for rent this summer (2019) and they seem to be doing okay and not causing too much trouble.

By Kathleen R |

Bozeman has one of the best downtowns ive ever seen. I’ve lived here for three years now and still get excited to go downtown. It’s calm but there’s still quite a bit of life. There are a ton of shops to pick from and many good restaurants as well.

By goldendiv |

Downtown Bozeman was so beautiful in the snow with Christmas lights. The whole downtown is walkable, parking was pretty good, and there are a variety of nice shops. The city planners have done a nice job creating an inviting downtown.

By Marilee K |

We were just in town for a brief visit. It was fun just strolling through town and popping in some of the stores and galleries.

By Jennifer M |

Downtown Bozeman has such fun botiques and an amazing bookstore. We always plan an afternoon in downtown to see what is new. Always stop in the toy store, love it, you can try all the toys.

By niki o |

We found a place to park 2 streets over which was not bad, free fir 2 hours. We walked and shopped fir hours. Mostly bars and restaurants, but a few quaint shops for souvenirs. Not cheap though so bring your purse.

By GlobetrottingMan |

Coming to Bozeman directly from Cody, Wyoming (and thoroughly enjoying their quaint and fun downtown) I was really looking forward to walking downtown Bozeman. But I wound up being very disappointed because the vast majority of the stores are the "froo froo" type. If anybody knows the Twin Cities (Minnesota), then you'll get the comparison when I say Bozeman is like Edina, but what I wanted and was expecting was Stillwater. Other than a good ice cream place (Genuine Ice Cream) and a couple bars, it was all just a bunch of stores for women with purse dogs.

By Nostalgiyeah |

Downtown Bozeman has an excellent vibe. Bozeman is a small town and the downtown area is a beautiful adornment to the city. There are a number of retail shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants lining the main street. This is definitely a happening place as was evidenced by the crowds during our visit on a weekend evening. There are old brick buildings and newer style buildings in downtown. We enjoyed walking along the main street, enjoying the evening sun and soaking in the energy from the crowds. One thing that surprised me is that a number of the boutiques and galleries seemed to close early (even though restaurants were open and that's where the crowds were). There were a number of shops selling clothing and outdoor gear. While street parking was free and we found a parking spot easily, I can imagine that it might be difficult to find a spot on the street on crowded evenings.

By Bufford1972 |

I love downtown Bozeman. I like it better than Jackson. There are plenty of local restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and clothing/outdoor gear stores. It’s a great way to spend a mid-to-late afternoon browsing, followed by dinner, or consider lunch followed by browsing.

Big city shops in a small-town setting. Amazing restaurants, though there are no soft drink vending to be found. The Gallatin Museum is well worth the visit. The locals are cheerful and welcoming.

We had such a good time just walking through downtown Bozeman! Your downtown is thriving and vibrant! Great shops and restaurants and everyone was so pleasant and friendly. We especially loved East Main Trading Post and Red Sugar Dim Sum restaurant.

By Kalah S |

very unique botique type of shops and restaurants. highly recommend Jam! and urban kitchen for some places to eat

By Tracy T |

My husband, son and I were lucky enough to be in town on a Thursday evening, to enjoy Music on the Main... it was a delightful evening filled with music, food, and drinks. There were lots of friendly people around! We felt quite welcome! I'm so glad we came during the summer and had the chance to see this beautiful part of the city!

By Lynn M |

I’ve now visited three times and enjoy it every time. Many restaurant choices, great coffee shops and pastries, bookstores, boutiques and more are within a compact 3 to 4 blocks.

By Charles S |

Bozeman is small quiet town with some really nice stores for shopping and restaurants for dinner. Close to Big Sky and not that far from Yellowstone National Park.

By HBGfromSD |

I flew in and out of Bozeman really fast for a business trip, but I did have a chance to walk Main Street on my way to a restaurant that evening, and we'll have to come back! The boutiques and shops combined with a variety of microbrews and restaurants, bars and other establishments have inticed me to put this on my to do list

By BWitch |

We completely loved walking downtown Bozeman! We felt safe and you saw all generations of people. Most people were friendly and suggested places to eat or shop. The shops had a great vibe/feel. We hope to go back and enjoy downtown during the Christmas season!

By Travelergirl998 |

This was super nice to walk around and beautiful. Unique stores and good people/fashion watching. Nice antiques

By Brent S |

The streets of downtown are thriving with people from all over the world. Great shops (no matter where your from) always remember to shop local! I’m from WI and I supported all I could to keep the community thriving! Local shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops were amazing! This town is so welcoming and friendly to us tourists with still being a old time Bozeman downtown!

By benergizer2017 |

Downtown is charming! Dinner at Copper delicious-great service, accommodating regarding shared plates.
We ordered the shrooms as a shared entree! Don’t miss that!

By James H |

Bozeman has sporting good stores, fly fishing shops, and antique shops on the same block. Beautiful retail stores and shops that carry all the tourist items. If you are looking for local wine or regional beer it is on Main Street, along with burgers, ribs and steaks. Downtown Bozeman is extremely pet friendly, allowing dogs in several restaurants with their owners. Definitely a great place to visit

By Maupinman |

We flew into (and out of) Bozeman on our recent trip to Yellowstone National Park. Bozeman has several really good restaurants, interesting shops and the Museum of the Rockies. The downtown area is very cool and fun to walk around.

By LostInTime |

I found this area to be very nice. I liked the charm. And there are plenty of places to shop and to eat. You can spend more than a day here exploring.

By Ashley |

Cute little town, great restaurants. Perfect stop for us on our way to Big Sky. Loved the coffee shop!

By DAME |

decent nightlife atmosphere, not many bars, some casual restaurants, lots of college students around mingling with the locals, commuter bus service goes from bozeman too other local towns like billings, three forks & other nearby towns.

By Richard S |

I like a vibrant community and a downtown that is not shabby chic catering to tourists and a downtown that is a nice mix of restaurants, shops, micro breweries, taverns, etc. Bozeman's downtown is the right size for now. Great place to stroll and have a coffee.

By Cin53 |

Many wonderful shops and restaurants. Especially liked the galleries and the toy store. Could have walked around all day

By M E R |

Main Street in Bozeman has about 6 blocks of continuous shops, restaurants, real estate agencies and assorted services Shopping is better here than in the nearby Gallatin Mall which is chain stores mostly. The small knic Knacks tourists want to take home are here. Also lots of men and women outdoor clothing Those hiking shoes lost in transit can be bought here. Downtown Bozeman hosts lots of big city folk with lots of money so the prices appear high There are no bargains here even on the annual "Crazy Days" sale in July. But lots of adults and kids get a memorable hat to take home in downtown Bozeman. restaurants range from Ted Montana Grill to the Co-op to many boutique restaurants serving specialty meals such as breakfast only, dinner only etc. It is a pleasant wide open street that invites walking Pedestrians are treated well at the crossings so it makes it a safe place to wander for a few hours.

By Michelle N |

Always enjoy girls day in Downton Bozeman. Cute stores, unique gifts including handmade items. Even if you're not a shopper perfect place for everyone. Local watering holes.

By Ran L |

Walked on main st for 1hr and stopped by a few shops, like antiques, bicycles and gifs. Everyone was so nice. You can taste a big number of local beer on the main st

By gnhermit |

Downtown Bozeman has it all. Great stores, great food and beverage establishments, sporting goods, and unique shops. Summers in downtown Bozeman is especially fun when the main street is shut down the food trucks and music are grand.

By Joel c |

The downtown area is fairly small and parking is limited. There some great places to eat in the area

By Tweedie65 |

We had a last leg of our trip in Bozeman, great town with shopping, restaurants, and micro bru places. Really nice, clean, and good college town. Would go back again.

By wanderoften07 |

We were in town for four days and still didn't get to experience all of downtown. From breakfast to nightlife there are plenty of amazing options!

By Stephen C |

Lots of good restaurants, bars, coffee shops, galleries and gift shops. A perfect place to wander about on lazy afternoon playing tourist or while killing time before dinner.

By Pascale S |

Walked through Downtown twice after having had dinner at the Montana Ale Works. Being first time visitors from Belgium we really enjoyed strolling on Main St. as it has some beautiful Art Galleries, lots of bars/restaurants and shops.
Very clean, relaxed atmosphere! Definitely worth going 😉

By Mike C |

Beautiful downtown with lots of restaurants, pubs and stores. There is 2-hour parking available. A nice and relaxing atmosphere.

By MPTrainor |

Spent the day shopping in this nice small town. Has lots of shops and restaurants. In one men's shop they actually offer you a drink when you come in. Very friendly town.

By CCM837 |

Lovely, independent stores, and plenty of restaurants. The downtown was clean-didn't see litter anywhere! People were friendly everywhere we went.

By Traveler1959-123 |

We’ve been back several times during our visit to Bozeman. The variety of shops and restaurants is unbeatable, with a very fun vibe. Lots and lots of folks visiting but none of the stores were overwhelmingly crowded. One of the most fun old downtown main streets I’ve seen.

By Freed0mt0travel |

Bozeman is a small town that's very safe and combines history with the new well. I found it clean with lots of good restaurants and both easy to get into and out of. You could eat well here and take an hour or two to browse the stores before going on to explore surrounding areas. I especially loved the proximity of Montana State University, a few blocks away in the hills.

By caposmith |

Have visited Bozeman at least four times. With each visit, I enjoy it more and more. The downtown is friendly and walkable, the shops are all local, and so many of the restaurants are very good. It would be easy to spend several days here just walking around and taking in the local sites and places to visit. There are hiking trails within a very short drive. The Museum of the Rockies is an excellent half day attraction. A new attraction, Blink Rides electric scooters, have a poorly functioning app and I would not use that. Everything else about every visit here has been perfect.

By jehenson81 |

Downtown Bozeman centers around Main Street going about a block North and a block South. It is full of shops, stores and restaurants. I’m staying at a hotel not far off the main drag and it is in easy walking distance. I visited several shops, went to one of the restaurants and scoped out places to eat for the rest of my visit. I’m planning to visit a few more shops as time permits. Definitely the place to be.

By ajnavy04 |

I live in the Rockies and was expecting another sleepy dead mountain town, but I was really impressed with Bozeman. The city is alive and there are numerous cool shops and restaurants. I'd definitely recommend walking around this area for an hour or so.

By Andrew B |

Lots to do and see. A good mix of bars restaurants and speciality stores. Lots of parking that is free of charge and it’s a compact area easy to walk.

By Georgia G |

Always something going on in Bozeman. Lunch on the lawn at Emerson, Art Walks, Music on Main, festivals galore, two great farmers markets, great galleries and restaurants. Best dog parks I have ever seen!

By chrissys501 |

We have travelled all over the U.S.A. This is one of our favorite downtown locations. It appears to be a safe area for walking. The stores are mostly local products and boutiques, People were friendly. Food was good. Walkable and not touristy.

By M K |

Nice (pricy) shopping and lunch spots. I was there on a Monday & Tuesday and it was still very busy. Parking is hard to come by! I’m wondering if driving through and looking is better than getting out and walking the store fronts?!

By creeklaying |

Main Street in Bozeman is a great stroll with lots of history and restaurants with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, retail shops, and bars. It is definitely a must see.

By Meesh G |

We flew into Bozeman in order to tour Yellowstone and visit other areas out west. This little area was very nice - very good upkeep with a very nice variety of food and shops. I only wish we had longer to spend there. We had dinner and ice cream and walked through a bit.

By Stephanie R |

We were in town for a few days for a wedding. It happened to be same time at the Sweet Pea festival, there was live music, food and crafts. There are many great restaurants there, my fav was Jam. Good shopping for gifts and souvenirs. And, great coffee shops and bars. Something for everyone.

By KASL1969 |

Bozeman is one of our favorites. Parking is hassle free the shops, food, coffee always wonderful to explore and enjoy

By SaltyKansan |

A great choice of shops, restaurants, cafés, and even hardware stores to choose from in this picturesque scene of americana.

By FernWanderlust |

Free 2 hour parking. Lots of unique shops and eateries. Also wine and cider shops that offer tastings. Definitely worth a visit.

By Nate C |

Downtown Bozeman is great with the brick buildings and variety of places to drop money and explore. Park and walk is my recommendation.

By Robin M |

Great restaurants, shops, museums..... they have it all. Drive a few miles to Livingston and see the railroad museum too.

By bcasey1 |

Some places were very trendy, as expected for a college town, but I liked the way they updated buildings, while keeping the charm.
A museum we hoped to visit was closed, but that was almost expected with Covid-19. We enjoyed driving through the town. Charming!

By lauralane17 |

The downtown was lively and hopping. We loved strolling both sides of the street. A great little city.

By Jeff H |

I was really surprised at the number of eateries and bars in this neat downtown. For the size of town it is amazing. Folks are nice and everything is really clean. A great Western downtown that has modernized but still recognizable.

By travelrvo |

We thoroughly enjoyed strolling the downtown area on a recent beautiful September afternoon. Enjoyed the boutiques, shops, beautiful hanging flowers, quaint buildings, and bookstores. Will be back when we have more time to explore.

By Possible Hokie |

Nice town to walk but it didn't actually knock my socks off. Some nice shops. Something to do for a 1/2 day.
Parking is a little tough

By Carmen L |

Loved the shopping. Lots of unique gift ideas. The honey shop has a wide variety of honey and cute containers to serve it in.

By Lynne P |

Lots of boutique shops and restaurants.Quite a delightful town. Enjoyed two meals at
Sharky’s Downtown.Bridger Mountains on outskirts of town. Quite beautiful.

By Bobbie |

Great variety of local products and restaurants. Very walkable, once you can find parking, as lots though free fill up quickly. Beautiful tree lined streets& hanging baskets. Very clean in spite of all the pedestrians and traffic..

By Mark N |

A pleasant downtown area. The city has spent a fair amount of money to keep this area pleasant. Most of the shops and restaurants are pretty nice with not a whole lot of original businesses left. A Good old fashion New West town. If you want an original western town that can be found in Montana, this is not the place for you. If you want what the new west has to offer then this is your place. Shops include: one fishing store (fly fishing only----please), running store, locally owned book store, clothing stores (expensive at that), a few bars (along with a wine tasting bar-of course), a few expensive hotels newly built, a bike/nordic ski store and an upscale shoe store to name a few shops. Many folks mention that Bozeman is similar to the Boulder, Colorado area. If you want more of a good old fashioned downtown, Livingston is your place. The big money has not affected Livingston, yet (OK some big money has).

By TravelOn11 |

Nicely renovated historic district with good places to shop and dine. Nice vibe with lots to see and do in the area.

By Ak |

Lots of shops and places to eat/drink. Would recommend getting reservations at any restaurants down here since they are popular and can get busy. Walkable and cute.

By billmnt |

There are several very good stores downtown and many places to eat and drink. it is a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon strolling and dropping in shops.

By Xmeromotu |

First, I should point out that we are from Alabama, so a foot of snow freaks us out. Now maybe it wasn’t really a foot, but part of the freaking out is that 6” of snow seems like at least a foot. And it’s spring vacation for us - after all, it was technically Spring!

The other part of being from Alabama is that while I had on waterproof shoes, the boy did not think that far ahead. Naturally, he stepped in a “puddle” of freezing slush. Is it still called a “puddle” if it’s mostly ice? We don’t have those.

Anyway, parking is pretty easy, and apparently the banks let you use their parking lots after hours. At least we parked there with a bunch of other people and no one got a ticket. But there’s usually plenty of parking on the streets.

Main Street seems to be 20% coffee houses, 20% pizza joints, and 20% outdoor sporting goods stores, 20% breakfast/brunch places, and 20% random good sit-down restaurants. Unfortunately, there is not a sock-drying shop. Pro tip: if you cross at the intersections, you are less likely to step in a freezing puddle, which I will now refer to as a “fruddle.” Another good reason not to jaywalk.

Here’s what’s really crazy. Morning: we eat at Jam, a nice breakfast place and have some coffee at Wild Joe’s Coffee while waiting for our seat at Jam. It’s snowing and fruddles are everywhere. Some shop owners are scraping snow and slush off the sidewalk. We drive to Big Sky, come back, go to Escape Room (a puzzle place, quite entertaining), and when we come out, it’s sunny; it’s 20° warmer than when we went in, and the streets and sidewalks are all dry and fruddle-free. And it had snowed half-a-foot that morning! This is apparently de rigeur for Bozeman, but amazing to Alabamians. A good day, though, so not complaining. Just very confused! 🤣

By John M |

Not having been to Montana before, I was keen to see downtown Bozeman and to see if it reflected a town of its reputation. It surely did. It was very clean and well laid out - and very friendly.

By dancethehula |

It has an old town vibe and feel.
Cute boutiques, great sporting gear, and fun, eclectic shops.
Very good coffee shops and excellent eating places.
You have a pick of great breakfast and lunch places.
Many restaurants with happy hours.

By JamesKMTan |

This is the main street of Bozeman town with many ineresting restaurants, cafes retai shops of all kind, museums, petrol stations. The architecture ranges from old to modern. It takes about one hour from end to end.

By HeatherC250120 |

Plenty of independent shops , cafes and restaurants for a half/ full day, especially liked the coop for good choice of wholesome food at reasonable prices

By Monica S |

Cute downtown area with lots of unique shops and eateries. Spent a few hours here on Sunday afternoon mid July. Not super crowded and free parking. Some of the stores were a little pricey - but cute stuff. Will visit again if ever back in the Bozeman area.

By Pam B |

Downtown Bozeman is wonderful for tourists and country folk. But it ain't Chicago.
It does have operas, stage plays, good restaurants, movies, dance theater, and great antiques stores BUT there is no great body of water. There is skiing for the winter and hiking in the summer. BUT no water. That is 30 miles away at the convergence of the Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson rivers that make up the headwaters of the Missouri River.
BUT if you want the wild west Bozeman is the place to be.

By Sara Z |

Would have better without the off and on rain. Still fun to walk the street hearing the music, Things for kids to do, grab treats from food trucks and people watching.

By Holley W |

Always fun shops to check out and see! A great place to take a stroll and just see what you can find!

By Marjean B |

Lots of places to eat/drink which I didn't do on my afternoon there. Wonderful gift shop with unusual items and a great Christmas selection. Montana Silverworks has a store there and is well worth visiting if you're interested in jewelry at all. Some of the stores are very upscale, particularly one of the antique places, good sports clothing and shoes downtown. Two bookstores, which I enjoyed. I could probably spend 4-5 hours downtown looking around. People very friendly.

By 1028jeris |

Was just passing thru and stayed in Bozeman after long day of travel. Visited downtown shops and in time for Santa to arrive. Fun family friendly event.

By JNYCwriter |

Bozeman has a fun downtown. It is something for everyone. You can find some decent restaurants, galleries and Bozeman shirt places.

By Eva K |

my new fav place to visit. the feel and vibe is awesome.
check airbnb for cheap week rentals.
summer is great, farmers market, main street party weekly. co op is wonderful.
and love kiss radio station.

By Marc D |

Lots of interesting things to see..........if you can find a parking space. I live about 50 miles from Bozeman and frequently have to come to town. The only time I found a parking spot was when I rode my motorrcycle into town. The parking situation is horrible...and I have a disabled sticker. Even regular parking spots are tough to find. However, if you do find a spot, you will enjoy your visit. Good restaurants and a wide variety of shops. If you do not mind walking, park at either end of town and walk in. You will enjoy people watching and all of the stores offer a lot to see.

By 2liberty41@ gmail.com |

All along Main St. there are numerous restaurants, coffee shops, busy clothing shoppes, can easily walk, benches to sit, child, dog friendly, huge trucks rolling onward, ice cream, 2 co-op's organic foods, jewelry stores, western clothing. great library, small parks to rest, almost anything to purchase, great thrift store, Salvation Army one st. over on Babcock that's 1/2 price on Wed's.Anything to buy that anyone may imagine.Good to bring own bag to carry stuff. enjoy . It's a zoo of shoppes to jaunt about. look for constant sales.

By Kim R |

Spent two weeks in Bozeman and went downtown several times. There is a plethora of restaurants - everything from breakfast joints to breweries. The shops are cute but expensive. We really enjoyed the co-op on Main Street. It had a really nice and reasonably priced hot bar for lunch. There is street parking for 2 hours or you can park in the library parking lot at one end of the street. There are some nice art installations along the street. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

By Myra F |

Very quaint small town.
Galleries, restaurants, bars. Heyday is a great store with unique home and gift items.
The Co-op is a great gathering place to eat.

By peanutsNewYork |

This is a delightful little downtown that you should stop and see when you are in the area. There are a large assortment of bars, restaurants, shops and places to sit along the way.

By rstonbrass |

Just to drive through downtown Bozeman is to experience the warmth and enjoyment that it must be to live in the western United States. To get out of the car and roam the business district is to fall in love with one of America's best kept secrets, Bozeman!

By Katherine M |

East Main is home to numerous shops and restaurants that appeal to both tourists and locals. The parking can be a wee bit of a challenge, but you'll find a spot if you drive around a bit. The downtown is easy to navigate, and it felt very safe as we walked around. It's very dog friendly. Make sure you carve out a few hours to wander.

By MoleeJacksonville_Il |

You can find just about everything classy here. Many small boutiques which are most of the time more expensive than normal BUT, no one has the same thing you do and it is all stunning! If you need a great place to eat while shopping, Ted’s or Dave’s Sushi are my picks.

By crzywestiewomyn |

We enjoyed our walk and browsing through town. We especially liked the break from paid parking. I would have explored more if we had more time.

By TravellerWorker_Peru |

Downtown Bozeman is beautiful. A place full of magic and charm. As we were in the summer, full of people and life. With a radiant sun. It was absolutely worth the short visit we made.

By brewColumbus_Georgia |

You have an air of safety when walking downtown- there are several buildings under construction but the downtown is beautiful- pubs restaurants and retail in each block. Really enjoyed it.

By Susan T |

After traveling to Yellowstone and through parts of Wyoming and Montana, Bozeman was a great ending to our trip. The town is definitely upscale, with terrific restaurants and shops. We especially enjoyed Montana Ale Works and Urban Kitchen. We also got delicious sandwiches at the Coop for day-trips in the area.

By CAgirlWhoLuvs2Travel |

Lots of cute shops with many unique items and souvenirs as well. Nice selection of restaurants too. Parking can be a challenge on Main Street and side lots. Recommend using the parking garage, it’s inexpensive and will save time driving around looking for open spots.

By Catol R |

Revolver men's clothing store was a delight. The restoration of the space is well done, clothing is unique, with a nice selection. The sales staff are friendly and helpful. Will gave us great ideas for dinner. Our next stop Was Shnee's Boots and Shoes. What a great place to find casual shoes. They even helped out with laces for my beloved, red Keen shoes. Bozeman is a new favorite destination because of the beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere.

By Glo6053 |

You can eat and drink your way down main street. Fun shops to go in and out of. Don't miss going into the Ace Hardware store--much more than hardware.

By Charles Parkhi |

The city is very beautiful, the downtown is buzzing with nice restaurants but if you are not White people don’t know how to treat you. It seems that they have not evolved in dealing with people from other races and look at you like you are a real alien. They don’t seem to be mean but not friendly as well. I have been to other Northen states like Minnesota and Washington and people are by far friendlier than Montana for sure.
We had a medical incidence in familial so had to visit walk in clinic the doctors facilities and doctors were good, prompt and friendly. So looks it educated people know how to treat others.
Food options are ok, coffee sucked at most of the places except Starbucks. Ice cream was good.

By Deborah1150 |

We stayed in downtown Bozeman for one night to catch an early AM flight after a week stay in Big Sky. We got there late in the afternoon and wish that we had had more time to explore. Bozeman is worth a visit in its own right. The Gallatin Forest is nearby and offers great hiking and river activities, and the downtown area is vibrant with interesting and varied shopping and dining options.

By Ronald B |

16th street in Bozeman is a very stylish street with pleasant places to eat and drink. There are nice galeries and specialty shops. And if you are looking for household and kitchen stuff, visit ACE. This also a pleasant shop if you’re a handy man or like to be.

By Ana A |

Downtown Bozeman has everything, wonderful diverse restaurants, one of a kind shops and boutiques, theaters, fun grocers and great college bars. It's hopping just about all the time and great place to stroll on a weekend. Plan your visit to this beautiful city with plenty of outdoor activities and be sure to include the fantastic downtown, especially for a breakfast stop!

By Brad H |

Multiple shops, many with high-end items. Many restaurants and micro-breweries as well. A hip place.

By KCinAZ |

Bozeman was much more than I expected. We walked the downtown area visiting a few antique stores and looking for a place for dinner. There were lots of dining choices so something for every palate. I would visit again.

By slas86 |

Unfortunately, we were late in the afternoon and many of the stores close early (by tourism standards) but the area is lively with plenty to do. Many choices to eat and drink along with a well-kept but still old-fashioned feel to the area.

By 48thAnniversary |

After leaving our hotel and heading for the freeway we decided to check out the historic downtown before heading east. What a pleasant surprise! At 9:30 in the morning the town was bustling and many people already out walking. Loved the old buildings and just the feel of this town. So many interesting shops to browse. Wish we could have lingered awhile but heading to the east coast and needed to get on the road.

By daisyfae |

Had a couple of hours to kill, so we decided to wander the shops in old Bozeman! Lots of variety, mostly high-end shops, but some treasures along the street - where else can you find gourmet salt in Montana? Definitely worth a visit - restaurants, art galleries, cafes.

By Matthew W |

My family had a great time. Tons of great restaurants. Museum was awesome. I am a MT native, truly one of Montanas best cities. Love the free parking downtown. Lots of outdoor recreation.

By backpacker31 |

Bozeman’s quaint, historic Main Street is lined with cafes, bars, restaurants, local shops, outdoor gear stores and several cultural spots. Just off Main Street, especially to the south, are lovely, tree-lined streets that feature some beautifully preserved old homes, many of which have plaques that provide interesting historical information. A nice way to spend a few hours - combining a historical walking tour, some shopping and a nice meal.

By Fsh4Fn |

Downtown Bozeman is vital and alive. Some towns are dying downtown - not Bozeman. There are bars and wine bars, restaurants, art galleries, jewelry stores and a variety of stores - sporting goods, boutiques, bike shops, fly shops. There are also banks and financial planners, and even some new hotels.

One of the best things is that at least once a week, every week during the summer, they close the street to traffic in the evening for music on Main St. People flock to the downtown to listen to music, visit the stores and galleries, and eat food from different street venders. A huge party.

A nice place to visit whether you're into bar hopping, wine sipping or just hanging with friends and dancing.

By Cheryl S |

Loved the shops & restaurants! No chains! Samples of scents, lotions, whiskey & beer at many main street stores!!

By DonaldLarson |

I enjoy walking & shopping in downtown Bozeman, Montana.
Nice place to have a beer/beverage, ice cream cone, or a meal with friends, family or solo.

Have fond memories of Bozeman, going to Montana State University (MSU) and bicycling around town & the MSU campus. Fun Times!

By DuaneaPalmer |

Downtown Bozeman is a great place to visit, there is something for everyone. From sports/ski shops, book stores, toy stores, clothing shops and more. Just walking down the sidewalks and seeing the different restaurants and bars , there has got to be something that interests everyone. Highly recommend a visit to Downtown Bozeman!!

By TwilightGroupie |

I really enjoyed my first trip to Bozeman. Even though it rained the entire time it was fun walking around downtown and checking out all the cool little shops.

By TDunegan |

I love this small town. Shopping was great with a variety of shops. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

By Woodys5 |

I really enjoyed walking downtown and exploring some of the stores along the way. There is a great variety of restaurants and retail stores. A little something for everyone in the family. It gets quite busy with foot traffic, even in the colder months.

By James B |

What a beautiful city. Camping was great and the whole town was beautiful. We stayed just outside of the city and visited many wonderful sites.

By sirenazulclaro |

Lots of shops and places to eat along Main Street in Downtown Bozeman. Easily walkable and makes for a great day or afternoon stroll.

By dfairchild2017 |

Great restaurants, shopping and small town charm. We were there in December and it felt like a Christmas movie as we walked around town with snow gently falling. if you are planning a trip to Yellowstone make sure that you stay in Bozeman for a day or two.

By montanapescado |

In keeping with its Montana character, a higher proportion of the stores in Downtown Bozeman are outdoor oriented. Whether you're into hiking, climbing, skiing, mountain biking, fishing, or any other outdoor activity, there are more stores here than you need. Plenty of dining options as well. In recent years after being discovered by the well heeled, it has become increasingly bougie, watering down the local character.

By Barbara O |

On Main Street and surrounding area there is a fun variety of bars, coffee shops and small shops with beautiful items for sale. We stopped for coffee at Wild Joe*s Coffee Spot and then went further to the Bozeman Public Library-a fun walk with the whole family Definitely a highlight of our time in Bozeman!

By Francesca B |

The "heart" of Bozeman is totally walkable, charming and unspoiled. Quaint shops, local color and a lovely place to wander around for an hour or so.

By Aimee |

After all, they can't afford nice things! So many shops, so many places to stop for a drink. Treat your kid! HIGHLY recommend a visit into Country Bookstore. Check out the Blind Date With a Book shelf!

By Claude Y |

30 restaurants and pubs from one opened in 1929 to some that are brand new. Lots of boutiques, outdoor shops (running, biking, fishing, rafting, etc.) and coffee shops. There are some really unique art pieces scattered around that make walking Main even more entertaining. Clean and safe with the beautiful Bridger Mountains as a backdrop!

By Erlinda C |

Wonderful mom and pop restaurants and other stores on Main Street! Many delicious and quality restaurants to choose. The nearby Montana State University adds a vibrancy and progressive touch to this main thoroughfare.

By queenirene |

Cute downtown with lots of food and drink options. Shopping and galleries. We had a fun day. Everyone in Montana is friendly!!!

By John T |

I was coming to Bozeman for one specific thing, but the more I began to look in tourist guides the more interesting it began to look. Wow, cool place - all kinds of great stores to explore, places to eat, art galleries, book stores, antiques, and have coffee and craft beer. Architecture has some nice period buildings, and the rest blend in well; the street grid is easy to navigate. The temps had recently hit a record low when I ws there and it was very picturesque in the snow. a great place to enjoy life

By NGTB_1 |

A very nice and historic downtown where old and new co-exist in harmony. Lots of food and outdoor recreational shops to enjoy

By Kintasays |

I loved strolling the streets of Bozeman. It's a town with a little bit of old and a little bit of new. Wew strolled here after dinner window shopping and just enjoing the atmosphere of this western town. Worth a visit.

By k8lynindenverco |

Main Street has tons of great shops, including antiques, clothing, housewares, music, etc., restaurants with a variety of foods, the Ellen theatre and a music venue, galleries, and more. It’s very walkable and parking on the street is FREE. A great place to spend time during a visit and would recommend staying near if visiting from out of town.

Downtown Bozeman is a fun place to shop, eat, drink and hang out. There are great specialty shops and restaurants. Good jewelry stores to pick up yogi sapphires that are local to this region. Top off the day with drinks at the Baxter or the Pub 317 depending on your mood.

We enjoyed the compact historic district with its architecturally interesting old buildings and the thought provoking decoration on some of the buildings.

Lots of unique shops, friendly bars, and reasonably priced restaurants.

By Jenessa K |

very fun atmosphere, but things close very early. Lots of the shops close at 7 or 8 pm on weekday and Saturdays and don't open up until 10 am
Lots of fun bars and restaurants

You can saunter download Main Street and window shop, or look for treasures and probably find them. There are shops and boutiques for kids clothes, spices, teas, coffee and delightful restaurants from takeout to fancy dining. Parking is free on both sides of the streets, there are often live musicians, and you can dine outside or with windows open almost all year ling. Just bring a jacket in the winter in case you want that window seat! Montana’s aren’t afraid of the cold.

We liked seeing the downtown area. But there was not enough parking. So trying to stop & stop in at any business anywhere was difficult. Plus delivery trucks were parked in the streets, so traffic was stopped and hard to get around...
People were friendly though.

Do go visit "Pete's hill". When you walk up to the top, the view was great!

Hadn't been to Bozeman for at least 13 years and a lot has changed for the good. Is more uptown with new restaurants, galleries and shops.

By Sharon M |

Downtown Bozeman is quaint but offers everything you would want - western city with shops, souvenirs, restaurants etc. There are a few pubs/breweries which were all nice to stop in and try some different beer that you may not find at home.

It's small enough that you can walk from end to end. We stayed at a hotel on the main street and it was very convenient to be able to walk around town.

This is just good ole Americana at its best! This is what downtowns used to be like when I was a kid. It is full of neat little shops and tons of restaurants and bars. It is well worth your time to go downtown if you are visiting the area. Also, I like to support local businesses when I travel and this is a great way to accomplish that goal!

By Neal S |

lots of stores, some good restaurants....we did the tourist thing and walked a few blocks window shopping

By rob77ohio |

We enjoyed our stroll though downtown Bozeman. We were pleasantly surprised to see many active local businesses and very few national chain stores. There were quite a number of specialty shops and places to eat. This downtown is a definite "must see."

By Bob C |

Enjoyed walking around this area for a few hours. Many interesting shops. Couple of the art galleries had nationally known artists with outstanding work. We ended the afternoon at one of the bars on their back patio overlooking a stream. Great way to end the visit.

Well Bozeman is no longer the best kept secret of a great town in Montana!

No sir ree.....it has been discovered for some time and is suffering all of the related growing pains.......time to move West young man!!

By Davy1950inv |

Bozeman town city remains one of the best in Montana. Not a chain shop in site, instead pleasant clothes shops, nice book stores and lovely little coffee shops.

By Cee Cee |

Great lunchtime drive. Many great selections of shops. Small town feel with various options. Cute boutiques and local eateries.

By Glorianna B |

Beautiful Downtown with lots of variety of shops, clean and safe area to park. Dog friendly great restaurants in the area.

Spent an extra day in Bozeman after visit to MSU. What a great little downtown full of unique shops...teenage daughter was in hog heaven with all her finds. Easy to navigate and relatively easy to find parking (limited to 2 hours)...was a great way to spend a nice spring day!

By CarolinaPhotosmith |

The charming downtown has a great mix of shopping, eating and drinking. We had a great meal at Open Range, shopped at Heyday and Damselfly (and browsed at lots of other cool stores), snagged groceries at the Co-Op (after brunching at the big Co-Op and grabbed a tasty tea. We didn't get to try any breweries, but we did sample a huckleberry vodka cocktail at Ted's Montana Grill. August was perfect weather for wandering the main drag!

By jdbak1 |

Check out Cello. They carry local artists merchandise. Jewelry, art, glassware and clothes. Also, check out Revolver. Drink a sample of beer while shopping. Neat clothes and accessories. .

By angie12345 |

We were on a two week road trip and this was definitely one of the highlights. They were having an art festival of some sort and the shops downtown were all offering complimentary cocktails and beer from local distilleries and breweries! Everyone was friendly and there are many different stores and restaurants to visit.

We walked through downtown and enjoyed this beautiful quiet spot. Loved the old trees and the brick buildings.

By Jan E |

We did the Bite of Bozeman in September of 2018. Great western atmosphere. A variety of musical acts and great food. Locals were extremely hospitable

By catman252 |

I love the fact that this town has a real downtown, filled with restaurants and interesting shops. The only problem is the lack of parking places, and the one way streets on either side of the main street inevitably are going the wrong way when I couldn't find a parking place and need to circle back. Reversing the direction of the two would solve that problem.

This little western town is charming - lots of choices for good restaurants and cute stores. It’s small but has enough to host a visitor overnight.

Downtown Bozeman is a rare jewel. There are not many small downtowns that provide such a thriving scene during the day and night. Multiple amazing restaurants like Nova, Jam and the Western for breakfast and lunch. Pakeezah, Copper, Blackbird, Aleworks, and Urban Kitchen for dinner. The shops provide a variety of chic and sporty venues and the tea, coffee shops - Joe’s, Daily, Bozeman Teahouse - are an all day hang out for many. Head West is a local western favorite as is Schnee’s. Make sure and check out the downtown consignments which support those in need, the hipster book and music stores and the Emerson Cultural Center for local artwork. There are always some rare finds. All in all it’s always enjoyable to take a stroll in downtown Bozeman. Don’t bypass it when you are coming through.

Great restaurants, great buildings, great stores and no bums on the street. How much better does it get?

By MargieMc65 |

Lots of little shops and restaurants downtown. We enjoyed walking around and visiting with the store owners and clerks while shopping. We also ate lunch downtown

By Paul F |

A wide variety of restaurants, watering holes, shops, and galleries; even the local historical museum. Prices tend to be a but high in the retail shops, but Bozeman is a year'round destination for tourism and that's to be expected

By Isabella M |

Nice little downtown area with a large variety of shops and restaurants. Lots of street parking, but it’s easier to part in the parking garage. First 2 hours are free then a dollars each additional hour.

By CarolynMcc4 |

One of the Best Downtown atmospheres!! Plenty of Restaurants, Shops and Local flare! Live Music on Thursdays and plenty of festivals throughout the summer! Everyone is friendly and helpful ~ can spend days here!!!

By Robert T |

First time in Bozeman and was not disappointed. Lots of shops, lots of restaurants. Very friendly people.

By Aaron S |

I am a local here and I actually like our downtown unlike many places I have lived previously. Parking is usually free and very common. Lots of variety of unique small businesses. Some are down to earth. Others, albeit more of them, are a little snooty. Lots of restaurants. Plenty to do for tourists and locals.

By Kailash M |

Clean lots of stores, very clean, beautiful buildings, nice clean stores, lots of eating places,we drove thru and walked

By mi1954 |

Things are quiet now with stay at home orders, but usually downtown is lively with many a fine selection of bars, restaurants and shopping all within a short walking distance. Plus there are new hotels going up where you can walk to everything. There is everything you need here with the buildings dating back to the 1800s. Don't forget to take in a show, play, musical, opera or whatever is playing at the historic Ellen theater.

By Dennis L |

Great town to visit the locals are awesome folks friendly and willing to help. Lot's of shops pubs and restaurants to visit

By gekko1978 |

Bozeman, is a very nice city, with a good vibe. You can visit and walk through the downtown, and see some great fine art stores. Cool

By Lisa A |

Adorable town with great shopping! The merchants were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Can’t wait for our next visit.

By Jeri G |

The downtown historical district is clean, fun little stroll. This is a college town and many of the stores are geared to the 19-25 year old crowd. But there are great boutiques, local bookstore, antique store, chocolate and candy shop with a old soda fountain. There are several restaurants with various options. We had visited Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. The weather was rainy and we wanted to experience a town/city in the area. It was a beautiful drive from the north entrance of Yellowstone and the town offered a nice break from the crowds of the parks.

By KayCee Z |

Bozeman is such a gem... great time walking downtown with my mom (62) and my daughter (15) and we all had a great time! So many speciality shops that makes a few hours downtown worth going to!!

By 704Traveler |

Jewelry, Yogo sapphires, Montana silver, eateries, museums, teahouses, youth hostel, hotels, churches, 1919 theater, very interesting window shopping and browsing, souvenirs, Visitor Center, people very helpful and friendly, artwork along the side walks. Could spend more time wandering

By kghudson |

Beautiful and scenic old town feel to the city. Many local shops and restaurants to visit and see. Park and take a walk thru downtown and support the many local businesses. We picked a beautiful Saturday morning and spent about 2 hours in and out of shops. Ate at the Western Cafe and then shopped at the quilt shop on Main Street.

By JulietteND |

It was nice to see a downtown that was thriving. Restaurants everywhere you turn. No chains that we noticed.
You should at least drive the strip if you find yourself in Bozeman.

By TAMAN1951 |

Well worth the time and effort to visit and stroll Main Street.

Lots of shops and restaurants as well as a few historic buildings add to the charm.

By Linda T |

Every graduate of Montana State University has fond memories of Main Street. From the iconic (but rebuilt) Rocking R Bar to the art galleries, we all have fond memories of hanging out there. Bozeman does a great job of hosting special events during the summer and the holidays. They close the street and bring in bands for a free good time.

By Lor L |

Bozeman is a"pit" in many ways ; and,it has an extremely bad vibe. Even from the air you can see markets and services ALL ON THE NORTHSIDE

By Gabes_Mom_12308 |

We had a great time meandering through downtown. We visited several stores, purchased a few souvenirs, and enjoyed an ice cream (or two).

By Terri T |

Downtown Bozeman has something for everyone! It is easy to navigate,, there is a variety of shop, galleries and restaurants and the people of Bozeman are very welcoming!

By ffr154 |

Great little place to walk around, cool shops and restaurants. People are really friendly here, I cant wait to come back.

By Zoom_Gotti |

Nice strip to walk along and choose a restaurant, bar, or cafe. You'll also find bookstores and outdoor apparel shops. Lots of young students, outdoor types, and faculty seem to be the main consumers.

By Dick A Wagner |

Looks like they are almost complete with a major "remodel or renovation" of the downtown. Loads of awesome shops and restaurants. They even have a cigar shop 1/2 block off the main drag. It's safe and easy to walk the entire length even in the even. It's always got lot's of people downtown.

By Joell E |

Many charming restaurants and retail shops in old style buildings. Perfect for walking. It is an easy drive from the interstate. A very clean and well-cared for town!

By Thom P |

What a great town, great food. People where very kind and accommodating. We stayed here as our main point when going to Yellowstone Park

By Grussingtravels |

Montana is in a fazed reopening. Many shops would prefer masks being worn and have limited capacity. Overall there is a lot to see, walk thru and eat. Enjoy your time through downtown.

By PLarge |

Cats are the theme for downtown Bozeman - the Bobcats being their symbol of excellence. Quaint and quirky art galleries, bars and restaurants and ancient buildings [ancient American not ancient Brits!] showing the history of the ranch-style development of a community to a vibrant University town with fine samples of humanity frequenting all the local spots. Take two days or more
to explore this fine mountain town. My third visit. I shall return. PLarge

By Victor B |

Spend two days in Bozeman (at least) to give yourself time to hit Main Street and take in as many shops and bars and restaurants as you can. The Main Street is awesome but go down some side streets as well. Also, get out for some nearby hikes like Drinking Horse and the “M”. If you are lucky, maybe there will be a street festival for music or art. Farmer’s market is on Tuesday!

Downtown Bozeman is a great way to take a morning/afternoon/evening stroll. This area is full of little shops you can visit or just window shop as you go up one side and down the other.

Ace Hardware and Schnee's are two excellent retail businesses in Bozeman, MT. We were able to find something incredibly useful in each store.

By Jlyns321 |

I love shopping in downtown Bozeman. There are many unique shops and boutiques offering many options in gifts and clothing. There are also many great restaurants available when you need to take a break and grab a bite. Parking is available in several lots and right on Main Street.

We were driving from Colorado to Washington State and made some time to stop here and stretch our legs. We loved it, they had cute little shops and some great places to eat. Also, close to downtown is a park area where you can take a hike, which was great that we didn't have to go out of town. We are really glad we stopped here and felt like we could make this a destination for a future trip. We definitely want to come back!

By Sharon R |

we had a gang of us, doing the shops and seeing the sights. Highlights were the live alpaca pair in front of ace hardware (oh the hummmming) and the mexican coffees from Wild Joes. Fun main street

By Heidi F |

Love going downtown, although it is busy. Usually a bit hard to find a place to park...although I highly recommend the parking garage. There are a lot of great little stores down here to explore. It's a great downtown! Also, lots of great restaurants, as well.

By Doc_Cody |

I walked down Main Street through the business area for at least a half mile. This stretch of the road is lined with shops, restaurants, businesses, and public buildings.

I found this part of Main Street to be both vibrant and quaint. There were flower baskets hanging from light posts all along the street. There were also a number of sculptures placed along the way. There were many sit-down restaurants and one fast-food place.

If you have some extra free time, I would definitely recommend a stroll down the Main Street of Downtown Bozeman.
