This downtown has SO much potential, but it has a long way to go. I do NOT advise visiting after dark. There seems to be an underbelly of society that gravitates toward this area at night. Enjoy to the fullest during daylight hours.

Such an adorable downtown area! Lots of cute shops and restaurants, very dog friendly, and lots of beautiful things to see. Highly recommend!

Lake Worth is not a Key West type tourist town, but is a lovely little town that always has something to do downtown. Most restaurants feature outdoor eating, which is wonderful, since you're so close to the ocean and always can expect a nice breeze. The food is good at every restaurant I've ever eaten in and the service is good, also. The wait staff are never hurrying the customer, even when you dawdle over coffee or drinks. They are friendlier than most wait staff in other tourist towns. I live within five miles of Downtown Lake Worth and friends who live in town and I meet frequently for lunch, and I always take out of town guests to Downtown Lake Worth for lunch. I highly recommend it, not only for the restaurants, but for all the arts events and the Lake Worth Playhouse, which presents very good off-Broadway and other plays. it's just a great little downtown!

This is not the typical Florida town with no center, or a that feels like Epcot. No, downtown Lake Worth is a real, walkable town full of interesting shops, restaurants and attractions. Parking is not horrendous.

We live in lake worth Florida and one of the things that makes our little town special is the downtown area. Plenty of restaurants, gathering places, bars, specialty shops, etc. There is something going on every weekend whether it's food trucks or movies or shops. Our downtown area is busy no matter the day or time you visit. Downtown is very close (walking distance )to the intercoastal and our beach. Come and relax.

This is a fantastic fun place to visit over and over again!
Great experience for all ages and skill sets....
You can’t go wrong with this as a gift for a friend , girls night etc...
Owner is amazing, creative and helpful!

The colorful murals will brighten your day. Spend some time in the Lake Worth Museum to understand the History of the city and its quirks, very cool area with plenty of variety in restaurants.

Great place to visit. We happened to be there during the street art festival and really enjoyed it. Great selection of restaurants and coffee shops.

For years we would head to Lake Avenue to eat, walk and enjoy the area. There are still some good restaurants, but many businesses have closed and stores are empty, not a good sign. The Lake Worth Playhouse is still open, but the Bamboo Room, which was an interesting music venue is closed. There are some enents that draw people, especially the Street Painting Festival in February. However, overall, there is not much to draw people to this area now.

Downtown Lake Worth offers only few restaurants and some shops which are interesting only if you are looking for vacation clothing or dogs supply (pawns on avenue was great). Not really worth of planning a trip to

Brought the wife and kids to a recent weekend night shin dig. They had a movie playing, some food trucks and live music. Used to live in the area and really miss it. Can't wait to go back

They have really been working on this town and there are a lot of interesting restaurants but parking and safety keep me from visiting more often.

Very Picturesque and Friendly with great places to look at AND eat lots of different ethnic foods… The shop keepers are friendly

Because of family in the area, we've visited Lake Worth for over forty years. The DOWNtown area used to be kind of RUN down, with no interesting restaurants or shops. Lake Worth has done a 180 over the years. There now are a variety of great places to eat, lots of interesting shops and a good, lively nightlife scene with lots of live music. Hurray, Lake Worth!!

Unbelievable. The town has done a marvelous job in revitalizing the downtown area of Lake Worth. There are good numerous restaurants to eat. Ice Cream stores for the kids to enjoy themselves. There are plenty of stores for the women to shop plus a number of art galleries and antique stores for the tourists

Like no other town in the area, the downtown stroll will find business people, hippies, artists, bums, and retirees

I love visiting Lake Worth. But I have been very disappointed that they stopped the live music venues. That was the draw to come to Lake Worth, to listen to local bands and eat and drink and also to shop. Its lost its magic. I feel sorry for the owner's that have a business that realize on patrons to visit in order to survive. I've seen a lot of once very popular bars and restaurants come and gone so sad. Lake Worth is worthless without live music and great restaurants.

I really enjoy walking downtown Lake Worth. Funky eclectic area with a nice mix of art galleries, shops, watering holes, restaurants. Music on the square 1st & 3rd Fridays

We enjoyed dining at both the Mother Earth Sanctuary Cafe and the Pelican restaurants. Mother Earth has the best veggie burgers with 23 varieties and the Pelican has delicious breakfast as well as Indian selections. Unique boutiques as well as consignments shops. Other retail varieties as well.

Love this quarky little spot.
Lots of shops, restaurants, and bars. Not like the snobby ones downtown West Palm. These are more hippy- like. Think coffee shop, blues bar, vintage stores. They have a spot with a lot of beautiful trees where they have live performances on weekends and people can sell stuff.
Cool festival worth going to: Street Painting (FREE)

We stayed in a home very close to downtown and had a wonderful time dropping in/out of the city. Had great restaurants, historic area that was fun to walk around. It is also only a walk/bike to the beach -- 1.25 miles from town. We even walked to a kayak tour from there. We happened to start our visit on St Pat's day and boy was that fun! The city came out and celebrated with a parade, drinks, and lots of good fun.

Friend and I went for a late breakfast. We were able to park and stroll down Lake to window shop. Shops were just opening and the shop pets were getting in their sleeping positions. Lots of eclectic stuff. Ate at the original TooJays and eavesdropped on the regulars. Had a high calorie breakfast. Satisfying. Relaxing and peaceful.

Downtown lake worth has a lot to do. Great places to eat and drink The street painting festival is awesome

Lake worth is a small unique town. Love the downtown with lots of unique local shops and restaurants and theater and art gallery. People of all ages can enjoy Nights on the Avenue that take place the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month with vendors, live music. Art and dog friendly. The street painting festival draws hundreds of people and it's tons of fun as well as parades and festivities during the year. The beach had all new walk ways and kid park with tasty restaurants. The golf course is public and has dining at E.R. Bradley's as well and if you like to fish just hang out on the piers. Did live entertainment you have many choices one of the local favorites is South Shores and Downtown Pizza is great, Kilwins ice cream is so yummy and we have the best Starbucks in town!

Don't miss the sidewalk art festival and the great antique shops. So many nice little stores and restaurants to visit.

they keep trying to upgrade, but it is still shabby.Several new restaurants have opened, but the motorcycles, cheap trinkets and low end shops predominate.

Really a wonderful place to enjoy an evening of dinner and casual shopping. Super friendly people and interesting places to browse.
All types of events planned during the year. Seems to be something for everyone.
Dogs are welcome and excepted in most areas. Just strolling around is a deffinate way to enjoy an evening. Stop have a drink or a bite to eat and you can’t go wrong.

Nice place to eat different restaurants little shops great to sit inside or outside a bar with great music a nice deli friday nights bands merform a Starbucks an ice cream place not far from the beach

Beautiful quiet place for a stroll, nice shops and good restaurants. You can't miss the street paint festival in winter!
Also, don't skip an ice cream at Kilwin's.

Lake Worth is "laid back". Downtown area has the best shops to poke around in for a few hours, great restaurants, and a beautiful beach just a short hop over the bridge that also has great restaurants and a small play park for the kids. Parking is meter only. A town you would enjoy knowing.

Great place to just go downtown and eat at the restaurants on the main street. You will hear music every where around the bars and side streets. Shopping and art stores all around. Beach is just up the road. It kind of reminds me of Delray Beach which is just a few minutes north on US 1.

Lake Worth is the only place in South Florida that I love to visit over and over again. The street painting festival is world class. The restaurants are delicious and the people are quirky and fun.

My wife and I go to this festival every year and we love it. It is truly amazing how these artist create these art works on the street. This is a must see festival if your in south florida in February. The street art festival seems like it gets bigger and better every year. Their are plenty of vendors to eat and drink from.

This area is trying very hard to duplicate the scene of Downtown
Delray Beach but doesn't have the panash of Delray
Shops are diversified the place is up & coming but falls short by comparison

It is a nice way to spend an afternoon walk and see interesting things. Also many places for meal or snack.

Lots to see and do here with many festivals. Very tolerant and something for all. Friday nights are usually free music on the old city hall grounds. The town is a 1920's style.

South Florida is all about places like downtown Lake Worth! Great places to shop, a nice variety of local and chain restaurants and plenty of watering holes. Lake Worth has very colorful clientele as residents. Go expecting to enjoy your time there.

Cute town with lots of bars and restaurants. Parking was easy and nearby. Great day trip from Pompano.

the town has nice restaurants and small and large stores that are nice to window shop .you will find something unique.Their is also a theater

Week-ends are great. There is usually music and a lot going on. People are friendly and a cruise down Lake Worth ave is great. I don't like crowds much but it didn't bother me here. It was just great fun.

It was a perfect overcast day. Which made it not to hot the stroll up and down the blocks to admire some of the most amazing works of art you ever want to see.

Nestled between Delray Beach and West Palm Beach is Lake Worth. The downtown has a beautiful ACTIVE live stage and movie theatre and a plethora of dining choices. After dark, there's watering holes that spill out onto the sidewalks along with the best pizza at Downtowner (on Lake). There's a waterside park, artsy sculptures, street artists and the world famous side walk chalk art festival. Lake Worth offers a blend of bohemia, rapture, elegance and down to earth. There's even a friday night food truck gathering downtown and on full moons, head to the beach for some impromptu drumming and dancing along the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy Lake Worth, FL

Great little town, fighting to hold on to it's funky, artsy atmosphere while trying to draw the cash. It's a hard bargain, and others have failed. But so far, so good.

Downtown lake worth is a town frozen in time, most buildings date back to the 1940s settled mainly by northern europeans
Has a very particular eclectic charm, a mixture of street side cafes, bars, restaurants, vintage, antique and nic nac stores.
Lakeside attracts a large variety of types of people from Hippy Art loving to business people. Never a dull moment

Lots of restaurants and bars. Great activities for families and pets. Short distance from the beach.

This is a great night life. They have everything on the strip. Shopping, food, or just go out for a stroll.

They have a cool street called Lake Avenue, and parallel to it, Lucerne Avenue, which is a miniature Ocean Drive/Collins Avenue/Duval Street. A couple of nice bars, a couple of good restaurants, a playhouse, crowds (but not too many) and good breakfast nooks.
Lake Worth does have a transient problem, but what town in South Florida does not?
I have wintered in Sebastian and Vero Beach and Lantana, which is near Lake Worth. I would go back to Lake Worth first.

Lots of arty shops and fun bars and eating places. Prices are reasonable especially during the happy hour; Mps pf the servers and other customers are friendly.

Always enjoyable walking on lake Avenue, downtown lake worth. Music, ice cream, tattoo shop, kava bar... Parking is not hard to find

I do come down once in a while to eat, but the street painting festival is always planned ahead and on my calendar. Gone 3 years in a row and should be back next year

During the real estate boom, Delray Beach invested a lot of money upgrading the downtown area. Unfortunately, Lake Worth did not. There are a few restaurants and shops, but when I have free time I go to Delray Beach instead, even though I live 10 minutes from Downtown Lake Worth and a 1/2 hour from Delray Beach.

The old town has that quaint folksy vibe. There are a range of restaurants, shops and bars that are not chain related. Don´t miss it if you are staying in the area.

You can eat and drink in a variety of different places with all offering different options, plus you are only minutes from the beach.

Downtown Lake Worth has become our go-to place for great food at a reasonable price. Compared to Boca Raton and Palm Beach, you can get great steak, seafood or Italian food for a great price. Plus, we love going to the Lake Worth Playhouse where we can see fun musicals and plays at a great price plus supporting community theater.

Downtown Lake Worth is a place the locals really enjoy. I grew up there and, as a local, I'm tempted to give it 5/5 but when I think of it from a visitor's perspective I'm not sure it has as much to offer as other local areas such as City Place, Clematis, or Downtown Delray Beach. If you're looking for the tourist experience or the party scene those places are better options. If you like a relaxed atmosphere with good food and eclectic shops, check out downtown Lake Worth. The people on the street are a mixed bag. Some are tourists but most are beach bums, hippies, etc. You'll also see people from different cultures speaking different languages. I enjoy the diversity and atmosphere of downtown Lake Worth, maybe you will too.

Safe and interesting area with lots of eateries and Bed & Breakfasts nearby....I stayed at the Mango Inn Bed and Breakfast and it was the perfect location and ideal setting for a relaxing stay-cation.

Although small...you can walk around the downtown without fear of crime and visit several good restaurants and bars with live music.

good food and drink, walk in intercostal and park, ocean park and swimming. good gift shops, good food amd live music.

Very quaint simple town with plenty of different food options, shops, and bars to enjoy. A must see if you are visiting the area.

Downtown Lake Worth has been cleaned up over the years, a younger 20-30s has moved in on the scene and flooded it with their mark. Its not Palm Beach or Delray but its something for the locals in the middle.

Nice town. plenty of restaurants and few bars. They do have throughout the year fun thiungs like a street festival painting in Feb,Holiday things and parades

Save your money for a place that respects your beliefs and doesn't try and shove their agenda down your throat

.Downtown Lake Worth is quaint and charming and has a little bit of everything to ensure a wonderful night out. From just strolling along taking in the architecture, to some very good restaurants and bars and even a playhouse, should that be more to your liking. And it is South Florida, so up over the bridge is a beautiful, well kept secret of a beach with a great bar there as well for a evening listening to the waves, or a day time filled with beach going adventures.

Driving around Florida towns can be a chore. Watch out for the oldsters! And so much of Florida has a soulless quality, corpie, a sameness, with overly-done developments and one town just tike every other town, but not Lake Worth. It's a unique place, a little gem, its own vibe, artists, musicians, writers. We visited for a day, ended up staying two weeks! A great stop if you're looking for something different.

Lake Worth is a welcome change from the "cookie cutter" look of so many South Florida downtown shopping areas. With a mix of antique, consignment, and new merchandise stores (my favorite is the Bali shop with its fantastic and modestly priced jewelry), and a good selection of restaurants, sidewalk cafes, ice cream stores (Kilwins, etc), this area along Lake and Lucerne avenues is a pleasant place for an afternoon stroll. Check it out!

Stroll this small town and select any kind of boutique restaurant for happy hour and a meal. Very pleasant. Just don't get off the beaten path -- lots of illegals and deadbeats flock to the outlying areas of Lake Worth. The main commercial areas very enjoyable and worth an afternoon to explore.

Dont miss the street painting festival , in mid February, has to be the best time of year to be there, lots of great artist, and great little shops, restaurants

great street painting festival. Nice bars and music check website to see whats going on at night and weekends!

The annual street painting festival, held in February, is good clean fun for the whole family. Stroll the closed off streets and enjoy the masterpieces under your feet. Be sure to watch the weather as these works of art are temporary.

A popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Antiques, jewelry, art, clothing, live theater local troupe performances. Seasonal festivals and celebrations. Outdoor cafe dining. Anything from a Hot Dog to really "Haute" cuisine. Italian,Indian, eclectic..you name it. Do not visit the West Palm Beach area without a trip to Lake Street in Lake Worth!

it has many many different shops that apeal to many people good resturants and barsa fun place to visit

I was looking for a new place to go to for a weekday Happy Hour. I usually keep my travels around the West Palm Bch area (or north) so this was a little further than I normally travel. When you enter the area, it seems unassuming. The street was lined with rustic looking boutiques, bars and restaurants. We arrived around 5pm and found several available parking spots. We started off at Dave’s Last Resort & Raw Bar. Quick service, friendly staff and the peel and eat shrimp was delicious! They had well liquors available for Happy Hour. I prefer mixed out of the bottle but the price was right. We then checked out Lilo’s. The place was filling up around 6pm. People inside and out but we still found a place at the bar. Our bar tender was quick and kept the drinks coming. There were pages of Happy Hour Specials that she handed us which included $5 bites. Didn’t order food since we ate already but they seemed to have tasty selections. We then stopped at 2 other places (and even grabbed a $1.99 taco on the way back to the car). We left right before 8pm but there were still several other places I wanted to check out. It was a Tuesday so I didn’t want to stay out too late. Overall, I was impressed with this area. To me, it was reminiscent of Delray, but more parking and it had a descent selection of bars and restaurants like WPB, but less pretentious.

we visited downtown Lake Worth on a Saturday and Sunday WE cruised to see the murals and stopped to getlunch one day and shop another.
City Hall is a declation for the rainbow coalition. The murals around town on various sides of buildings are colorful and range from wildlife, dogs, ocean. political and racial statements. The murals stay clean without graffiti . There are multiple eclectic and vintage down town shops. WE shopped one womne's vintage shop that had a steady stream of local women shopping and buying.
Much of the local color are the tattoo parlors, pawn shop and grunge. People on the street offer glimpses of spectacular tattoos. Many stand outside bars drinking beers out of bottles.
Outside of Old Town the area gets less developed and safe for lone visitors.
Lake Worth is statistically a large area served by this small downtown.

A nice, unassuming town. Nice shops and restaurants, good beach. Free open air music Friday nights. Great place for a vacation!

Many mom and pop stores and boutiques line the Main Street. There is a good variety of shops, from antiques to restaurants and commercial properties.
After our fantastic lunch at Callaro’s, we indulged in a homemade ice cream just down the street.
Many of the downtown streets are one-way, which makes this little city very maneuverable. Lots of free parking too.
Several murals liven up the old buildings, depicting life in south Florida.
An interesting place to spend a few hours.

This is an annual event that we happened to be in town for. The two main streets of Lake Worth are blocked to traffic and dozens of artists take over, each with an assigned square (and an occasional special shape) of white or black to be filled with chalk artwork. You can watch the works progress over the weekend and it is astounding! Early morning is best - it gets very crowded. Lots of food and information booths, street music and really terrific energy.

I lived in Lake Worth for 8 years and loved it! Downtown has a nice relaxing vibe. Whether out for dinner or drinking with friends, there are plenty of choices. My favorites include Little Munich for beer, The Pelican for breakfast, La Bonne Bouche for lunch, and Bizarre Ave. for dinner.

LW downtown is okay. The area has actually gotten much better in recent years, and you don't have the sketchy feeling of the past, especially on the main road (Lake Wort Road).
The bars here cater to a very casual crowd, although there have been a few openings lately trying to diversify. Nothing wrong with that, just saying it's the place I go to if looking to have a few beers and chill with a buddy than if I feel like having some nice wine in a cozier atmosphere.
The area is getting better though and I know it will continue to improve and will get even busier.
It's definitely not as fancy as Delray downtown, but then again, even fancy, on a reguklar basis, gets boring.
There are a few restaurants however that can be expensive and are pretty well known, like Paradiso and Callaro's.
Lake Worth downtown is working and it is informal. And there's nothing wrong with that.

there is a lot to look at and stores are open primarily in winter summertime many close because lack of traffic. Enjoyable if you are a people watcher . Not recommended for kids unless you take them all the way to the end where the beach is the bars are fun

Lake Av, Lake Worth's main drag, is a non-gentrified place with some funky shops, good restaurants and a relaxed, fun atmosphere. We spent a lot of time there as our rental was just a five minute walk away. Yes, there are a few homeless in the area, but it was rare and they were harmless (at least that was our experience).

I was having a great time on my vacation until I dared to park. I am used to reverse parking because it is safer, especially when pedestrians are around, however, I received a 40 dollars ticket because I did that in an almost empty parking lot!!! There was a small “no backing” sign which was not very meaningful to me and I was more concerned about downloading the app to pay than “backing”. My conclusion: they do not care about safety, parking authorities just seem to be lazy people not willing to walk around cars because in Florida cars do not have front plates. Safety looks like just a secondary thing...

This is what downtown Delray Beach was like 10+ years ago. Not nearly as pretentious great choices and less people make for an interesting locale.

Only visited on a weekend night but it was humming and lots of places to hang out for a bite or a drink. Clean for the most part but parking can be a bit of a hassle. Good times!

Always a good time to be had in Downtown Lake Worth. Lots of cute shops for daytime shopping, and restaurants and bars in the evening. Love walking the street listening to live music deciding which watering hole you will check out tonight.

There is clearly something for everyone in downtown Lake Worth. It feels like it is growing. There are antique shops, boutiques, lots of restaurants and bars, a theater and a foreign film movie theater. It's just a stone's throw over the bridge to beaches.

Went to Lake Worth for an event and visited the downtown area. There were a couple of really good restaurants we had an opportunity to sample. There was a playhouse and a boutique movie house we wanted to stop at but did not have the opportunity (maybe next time) and there were a number of cute little shops we looked at.
Whatever you do, don't get stopped behind a UPS truck. They will just stop in the middle of the street and hold up traffic while they make deliveries. This seems to be OK with local law enforcement. Drivers also are very impatient if you are hesitant and are glad to honk and shout at you if you are not fast enough.
But the dining is good and it's a nice place to walk about, it is worth a visit.

Love downtown Lake Worth, lots of good restaurants and stores. Usually parking is not a problem. They normally have shuttle during special events.

Trying real hard but still unable to compare to what’s doing along the Avenue in downtown Delray Beach.

I enjoy going downtown Lake Worth any time of the day. Lots of great shops to wonder through or window shop. Great restaurants for "date night" or grab a bite on the run or to enjoy with a cocktail.

We enjoyed walking around the downtown area of Lake Worth. Some interesting shops, several restaurants and bars, nice landscaping. A great park at the bridge leading over the Intracoastal Waterway. Some beautiful old trees throughout town, and some gorgeous homes not far from downtown.

Excellent tourist attraction. Many shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Usually have some kind of art fair or festival at least once a month. Fun for the whole family.

While downtown Lake Worth does not have the panache of downtown Delray Beach, it is what I would call "funky." Lots of laid back folks, plenty of rip snorting motorcyclists roaring down Lake Avenue, and good food and drink from Dave's Raw Bar and Igot's Martini Bar, plus quite a number of excellent other specialty restaurants. When they have their annual chalk painting event, it is definitely a must see. Callaro's is an upscale steak house were we enjoyed an eggs benedict Sunday Brunch or a great filet.. Like many of the establishments that have outside seating, it is dog friendly. Just wander around and look at the menus and you are sure to find something you like from Italian to an Irish Tavern as well as Asian fusion eatery

Heard it was artsy town on beach. They are promoting themselves that but either they are struggling to get to that end or they are just wishful thinkers. MaIn street short and slightly better rural America, but a block off cramped poorly taken care of buildings and lots of closed store fronts. They have some nicely done brochures but the reality didn't live up!

We visited the annual street painting festival February 23-24, and were surprised at how big this event has become. The whole town was busy - actually heaving with people and traffic, which made the event seem very festive. The actual paintings on the street were being completed on Sunday when we visited. Most paintings are now sponsored by local businesses. The art ranges from traditional to modern, but the modern art is definitely in the majority, and some of it is cartoon-like. It is very interesting to watch the painters apply the chalk, and to see the finished paintings. There are vendors on the street selling food and snacks, and there is a kids area where children can paint on the street with chalk. If you can deal with the crowds, then this is a fun and unusual event to visit.

This is the most incredible FREE thing anyone has ever seen..Starts on a Saturday morning the artist finish sometime on Sunday..This is AMAZING..this is a must see if you vacation in Florida in February..Do not know the weekend for 2018 ..just keep googling
This is for family, friends ..kids, seniors..Everyone and Anyone
This is incredible

The revitalized downtown area is friendly and inviting. There are several independent restaurants offering a wide selection of cuisines.

Such a cool town on the rise. Local, Key West vibe. Big difference from the expensive chains of Delray or West Palm.

Downtown lake worth needs work but it's getting better. Monday night is an awesome time to take the family. Live music and food trucks. It's fairly easy to find parking. It's still not the best hand out but it is definitely getting some action. CWS is a nice place to grab drinks.

Don't miss downtown Lake Worth! It's a real downtown with lots of different shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries and live music everywhere. It's not like those cookie cutter man made cities or overly commercial downtowns. It's authentic and worth a visit!

During our weekend getaway, while on our way way to visit Lake Worth Beach, we drove through the downtown area. We ended up stopping on our way back, we stopped to visit some shops including a funky coffee shop and a fun ice cream parlor. We had the opportunity to return on 2 separate occasions, once for dinner that evening and again the next night for a monthly event where they lose down the street and host a car show, vendors and bands. A worthwhile visit.

Nice area has lots of events. Big choice of Restaurants and Bars. Shops are unique and not overpriced. Near beaches and has a theatre downtown.

Since I have moved to South Florida eight years there have been some changes to downtown Lake Worth. Additional restaurants and art gallery have opened up trying to give the area the Del Ray Beach "feel". They still have a way to go to match downtown Del Ray Beach. Still worth a visit.

Very nice little town center with a nice variety of restaurants, shops, etc. It's a short walk to the beaches and parks and about a mile to the "Tri-Rail" train station and Rt. 95. The town appears clean and safe, friendly and comfortable. Not "upscale" but pretty nice, in my opinion. This was my first visit and I'm sure I'll return next time I'm in the area.

Love the shops and restaurants of downtown Lake Worth! One thing though, never sure when a store is doing great and leaving or not and leaves. The stores keep changing. Bali Importers is a great reasonable priced gift shop. The consignment shops are good, the antigue stores are shifting to other areas, but the remaining ones are great. Love the corner store - great card selection. The restaurants are good and most have stayed for years. Starbucks has a great staff & Kilwin's is great. Just past Kilwin's is a E cig shop or something & the people that hang there look like people that would make you nervous, but do not bother you. The park has some homeless and every now and then there is some action not good for children's eyes, but LW works on keeping everything safe, family friendly and accepting. There are many festivals and street events & always extra safe & family friendly.

Nice area to visit, but gets very crowded during the season. Lots of good places to eat and have a few drinks in the evening.

Lake Worth has a cute little downtown that has lots to do whether you want to eat or drink. There are also numerous shops for arts, chocolates, antiques, etc. Love the area.

Went there on a Sunday when they had a Farmers Market/Flea Market. The people were really nice, the selection of food was great, they had live entertainment and had dogs all over the place! There was an adoption center that was great, had a lot of fun and felt like home!

I have been numerous times. It gets better every year as does the art work. I couldn't do what they create on paper no less in the middle of the road. This is an event all should check out, at least once.
The crowds have gotten bigger every year, they now have shuttle from different parking area.
Go early, have fun.x

little quaint city. bunch of little stores. boutiques, shops album stores eateries corner bars. I gots corner bar with open large windows great jukebox good service. Dave's last resort another great bar and res. outside or inside dining fun place great litte city

A gem in the rough. If your looking for the up scale mad rush of Delray beach, this is not for you. Down town Lake Worth is laid back with several good restaurants. Some of the places like down town pizza look like something you'd find on the beach, but offer plenty of good Italian food quite in expensively. Or Havana hideout, where you sit under the stars with your feet in the sand enjoying inexpensive tacos. The theatre is good and the architecture is worth a stop by itself. The steak house is right next door. The Australian Irish pub has white table cloths and features music most nights. One block off the Main Street are two good Italian restaurants more up scale and a little more pricy.

This smallish downtown is very easy to shop at with ample parking. The way it is set up with parking behind the stores , it causes less hassle that is found in most downtowns. There are so rather swanky stores here as well as some eclectic omes. The interesting thing is that the parking is FREE. I like it that you can have a good time here and not be taken as some of the downowns of neighboring towns have.

Here is my recipe for Lake Worth: Take a little of the Florida Keys laid back attitude, add a historical feel found in St. Augustine (not quite as old, but a rich history in its own right), and mix it up with eclectic people including lots of artists and musicians. Voila!
Lake Worth downtown is a gem to explore that I came across the first time by accident, and have since moved close to downtown a year ago. Variety of great places to eat, downtown theater and music venues, plenty of festivals, and of course a great beach, what is there not to like!

This is a fun little town with interesting restaurants and bars. The people watching is great and everyone seemed really friendly.

Downtown Lake Worth has been revitalized and is now the site of many excellent restaurants, shopping, antique stores, and fun things to do.
Go there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and especially dinner because you'll find a vibrant evening atmosphere of beautiful people similar to Miami Beach. Enjoy!

Downtown Lake Worth has always been a favorite place for me. Many of the shops & restaurants are eclectic and reasonably priced. It's changed over the last 30 years, but definitely for the better. Much more friendly & home townish than City Place in WPB.

Lots of funky bars most of which have live music. We felt very safe walking around late at night. We had a great time.

For two, the 50-seat Stonzek theater that shows very indie movies, and always has the Oscar-nominated shorts; then there's the Palm Beach Cultural Council Museum in an old Art Deco Theater. The exhibits are always intersting, but its the frieze of plaster figures in the entryway that keeps me coming back. Eat at the Blue Front (barbecue, big back patio area complete with Easter Island heads) and shop in the consignment/antique stores. Who wouldn't love Lake Worth?

I went to the sidewalk chalk drawing event two years in a row and it's worth seeing. I understand it is one of the biggest in the world. Everything from kids to pros. The think about Lake Worth is that it is getting better and better. I love the old motels on the Dixie Highway that have been restored to their former glory of the '50's and '60s. While there are still some not-so-great areas many neighborhoods are being restored.

Lake Worth (now Lake Worth Beach) is a lovely town with nice shopping, excellent dining, and a small town Florida experience just a quick hop to one of the nicest beaches on the Atlantic coast.

Never a dull moment. People watching haven. Plenty of resturants and shopping to do. Antiques, local color and getting better every year

It's a nice little area with stores, restaurants, local theater and bars. You can find something to do or a place to go. It's clean, open and enjoyable. It's only a couple of blocks long but there's still a lot to see.

Lake Worth is a small town on the Atlantic side of Florida and is located 15-20 minutes from Palm Beach Airport. The town has a couple of 5 star restaurants in addition to other restaurants, bars, shops theatre and history, this is a good place to go. The town appears to be revamping since the crash in the economy. My husband and I were there in December 2015 and loved it. We are in our 50/60's but young minded and felt comfortable with the younger crowd. Being that this was not the peak season, the crowd would probably have a higher frequency of the more mature in season. It is convenient and is almost on the Intercostal. The Oceanfront is only a couple of minutes over the bridge and offers a beach, and a couple more restaurant. We rented a cute coach house and were in walking distance of the golf course. The neighborhood where we stayed had medium income housing interspersed with some more expensive homes. Some areas of Lake Worth are poor and the vandalism may be higher, but you will find this in any area of Palm/West Palm Beach Florida.

We visited down town and it was very nice and small, walked around for an hour then went down to there beautiful beach. It was beautiful, how could you complain about Florida beaches.Great day and we will be back

Downtown Lake Worth consists of two main streets: Lake and Lucerne. One runs east to the beach, the other runs west to the interior. Both streets are lined wi one of a kind shops and restaurants. There is also a lively bar and live music scene in e evenings.
Studio 205 at 600 Lake is owned and operated by Andy Amoroso who is a mine of local information. The store itself is worth the visit. In addition to selling newspapers and magazines, cards and original gifts, there is also a juice bar.
On Saturday mornings there is a fabulous farmer's market run by Peter Robinson and Carey on the corner of the Lake Worth Bridge and South Ocean Boulevard, right on the intercostal waterway. There are fruit and vegetable vendors, flower vendors, orchid vendors, bakeries, Argentinian empanadas, fresh farm eggs, original gifts, etc. well worth a visit.
Across the road from the market is the renovated Casino overlooking the pier. THe casino houses restaurants, gift shops and the incredible ice cream/chocolate store Kilwin's. They also make a decent coffee.
On the pier is Benny's on the Beach. Great food and drinks in a unique setting.

There is a good selection of restaurants, but the stores could use a little help. Make sure you stop in Bali for some interesting items. They have a couple good events, but could use a little more.

Fi you are tired of the pretension of Boca and delray, drive 15 min to Lake Worth. From the street painting festival to great still Florida priced local bars like Igots you can have a nice time without the $14 drinks in Delray or boca. Many true mexican joints too if you look

Love the ecclectic variety of shops and the broad choice of restaurants! A must for tourists AND locals

We moved to the Lake Worth area 2years ago. We are about 30 min west of the downtown area. We enjoy coming here, though, because it has an artistic vibe and is much less crowded than DelRay. The best restaurants for us are Brogues Down Under, Callaro’s, which just renovated, Paradiso, and Cuocco Pazzo. We have yet to get to Lilo’s, but hear it’s also good. Artisans on the Avenue has many works from local artists at good prices. And there are a few more galleries around. Loved having Starbucks and Kilwins there too, but now they are gone. Can’t wait to see the new tenants there.

Downtown Lake Worth has a great selection of small independent restaurants with almost every type of food available. Nice selection of artistic shops to check out also.

We love Lake Worth.
Small, cozy, great restaurants, lots of music and plenty sunshine!
Reminds us a lot of the old days in Key West.

On this particular Sunday the wife and I decided to stop by Lake and Lucerene for the annual Street Art Festival. This is our third consecutive year attending and can say each year you can see the gradual improvement of that downtown area. Plenty of small unique shops and cafes. The street festival itself is a phenomenal experience . Hundreds of amatuer and professional artists present some pretty impressive drawings on the bare asphalt. The atmosphere is like a huge block party , the 2 day event is well planned with plenty of vendors and food galore and plenty of law enforcement to keep the thousands of visitors safe. Definately recommend anyone, to come to at least one of these festivals. It will be a wonderful experience.

There is always so much to do downtown. I used to live here and now that I only come for visits, I always have to come back for the great shopping at Bali,.Trinkets and Treasurers, John A. Rooney and all of the other charming stores where you can find hidden treasurers at great prices! I don't like to give away my "trade secrets" but this is one fun place to spend a few (or more) hours shopping or having an ice-cream at Kilwin's (or fudge, if you prefer). Great places to eat right on the Avenues or just a car ride away. It's a bit of a walk over the bridge to the pier so it's convenient for a morning or afternoon at the beach...and don't forget the Farmers' Market every Saturday during season!!!

A mixed cultural and unique downtown area. Small neighborhood shops to explore with many ethnic restaurants. Often, the community has events taking place such as street painting. Park on street or lot, and walk around. Enjoy.

Great place to chill and have a really good time. Love music. Party central. Every time I go there is more to explore.

Enjoy dinner, Shop the unique shops, Check out the sidewalk chalk art festival. Couple cute bar restaurants for Couple dates

Lake Worth is a great little town with restaurants with out door dining, bars, bands and easy parking. There is always some kind of event - one of my favorites is the Street Painting Festival where they close Lake Avenue for two days. There is also a really cook shop Bali Imports - with all kinds of handmade items at really great prices. There are also art galleries. Just down the road a bit is the beach, where there is a restaurant, pizza place, souvenir shop'a fishing pier that rents what ever you might need and of course the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and beach.

The Bed and Breakfast . Mango House was the absolute best. Downtown....not much to do. The Restaurants are mostly latino. Most many choices for other types of food. Nice pet supplies store.

Down town Lake Worth has held its own against high rises and chain stores. It is a funky, artsy, friendly place not far from the beach. As you drive thru the streets you can see old Florida type homes with magnificent trees and foliage. Lots of folks on bikes, art schools, Old School House Museum. One of the very few ungentrified places left. Near Palm Beach, but Not of it. Close to beaches, Flagler and Norton Museums and The Breakers Hotel.......but, no Lilly Pulitzer yet! Enjoy! Slow down!

It's a hidden gem. A wide variety of restaurants and bars and there's always some live music any night of the week. The town has numerous events throughout the year that make is fun just to hand out.

Enjoy going downtown to have dinner or just walk through the shops. It is nice that there free parking and everything is condensed within a few blocks.

Went there for the street painting festival last year. Parked on a sidestreet about 30 feet from the corner. No signs saying it was a no parking area. Still got a parking ticket. Only way to fight it is you have to show up on a court date. Who has time for that? They prey on people not fighting the tickets so they can extort $ out of them. Otherwise the downtown area is a mess anyways. They certainly don't spend the $ on the upkeep of the area. Downtown Lake Worth is a dump.

Theres'a a wide choice of restaurants and boutiques with something for everyone. Relaxed and safe atmosphere day and night,

They had a chalk painting show where artist painted using chalk on Lake Avenue. The place was packed with some of the weirdest looking people, I have ever seen.
Some real cute shoppes and a lot of restaurants.

We had so much fun walking on Lake Avenue...we ate at Too Jays...the Christmas tree was beautiful...and we shopped at some of the shops...great nite was had by all...

I came to Lake Worth from New England regularly as a child. In those days downtown Lake Worth was a colorless, bland small town with a handful of banyan trees. -Not anymore! The banyan trees are still there, but downtown Lake Worth pops with vibrancy and color. There are wall murals throughout the downtown area, small boutiques, cozy bars and quirky restaurants. People working in these establishments are warm and friendly. We were lucky enough to attend the annual Lake Worth Street Painting Festival this year. It was a mellow 2 day street party with astonishing artists and attending visitors, beautifully organized and well attended. Kudos to Lake Worth for valuing the arts. Please continue on this wisely chosen path! Besides the charming downtown area Lake Worth offer a great beach and pier for water activities.

Lake Worth has made lots of progress compared to how it used to be, but it still has a long way to go. The biggest problem as a City is that it fails to meet its obligations for operation - such as paying Palm Beach County for fire services, and is one of the most expensive electric and water utility services in the state--privately owned by the City mind you, yet has a substantially large population of poorer, struggling residents. The City also has an obnoxious fee schedule for most municipal services combined with a 'good-ole boy' approach to managing those municipaldepartments. Downtown is small and again reflects an effort to upgrade, but is still tired and struggling, but with a retro flair. The City has recently explored changing its name and logo, I can only suggest an honest logo, perhaps, "doesn't suck as bad as it used to"

Plenty of great eating to be had and a few good shops. One of the safest beach towns I have seen and still not overtaken by chain stores and restaurants. A nice change of pace.

There are pictures of the Street Art Festival-Side walk and street done by fantastic artists.
Food ranges from typical bar food to fine dining and in between- Great Sushi bar - Daves and the rest of the bars stay filled on the weekends. Weekends live music. Trendy place for the under 35's. Shops along the way are generally niche type and interestings. Gateway to the beach and a good time in general

Been here in season and the area is impossibly crowded. Parking is unheard of and the shops and restaurants are too crowded. Off season is GREAT!

Driving down the main street in Fort Worth was like being a child again. Lovely little shops and restaurants. Loved the ice cream shop in the main area where we sat outside and people watched. Nice afternoon.

After all the years I have lived here, there doesn't seem to be much growth in the quantity and quality of local restaurants, pubs, etc. Would like to see some higher scale venues for a little change of pace. Difficulty in parking, many artists were no shows or gave up too early. Street painting festival can be awesome, but something seems to be missing.
maybe expand the days to add one more.

From evenings on the ave to street painting festival, downtown Lake Worth has many family friendly activities!

Very pleasant place to walk along. Great people watching and window shopping. Many places to stop for refreshments. Very good photo opportunities.

the different weekend festivals are always fun and with different cultures you'll always have something to do. from eating to shopping to dinner and dancing..

Downtown Lake Worth is not spectacular. It is a typical American country side town with shopping options and a few restaurants and small hotels.

Always enjoy the paint festival in downtown Lake Worth. Very talented artist, good music and all for free. In previous years I remember 3 Dimensional street art where it looked like the road was actually cracked and moving.
The trick is getting there early while there’s parking, before it gets too hot and too crowded.

There is so many different places to see here. You have a beautiful park to just sit and relax. There is a choice of several great restaurants and bars to enjoy. I love to sit outside and have dinner or a drink in the evening.

Great small Beach town Downtown small shops shop Local...Paws on the ave is a great pet boutique...studio 205 is the fun store

The town that time sort of forgot. Consequently, it hasn't been ruined yet by overdevelopment and too many tourists. Check out some great restaurants, cute shops, antiques and a nearby neighborhood of restored cottages in Parrot Cove. Public golf course with al fresco dinning or indoor A/C, public Parks and a good beach.

Friendly people but parking is a problem. We stopped going to places like Couco Pazzo because they don't have valet parking

The downtown has some character and is not dominated with high rise condos and newer construction. Great restaurants and bars. Live music at the Bamboo Room and South Shores Tavern.

Years back I was here visiting my grandparents. I remembered so much of it from that time, but a lot has changed as well.

First time we stayed in Lake Worth a few blocks from downtown and we loved the vicinity. The town is kind of hippie like and cool with some nice restaurants and stores. It is walking distance to the intercoastal boardwalk which is a lovely walk with views. There seem to be quite a bit of homeless people hanging around all day as well.

Lake worth downtown area is such a little eclectic area. For years they have been trying to make it more and it hasn't always stuck.. however, its a flip flops key Westie type environment, great little bohemian shops (bali imports and roonies are my fave) theres a lot of funky places (love the coffee shop "common grounds") this little town is great for afternoon drinking after the beach and or instead of and great people watching

there are many cafes and restaurants and a playhouse downtown plus shops and street parking......some side streets have more shops and restaurants.......tapas even has an outside bar

Centrally located off I95 with easy freeway access just minutes from Major League Baseball spring training facilities and some pretty darn good golf courses. Lake Worth has fun downtown shopping that is just minutes from the beach. Lake Worth hosts a family beach with really nice fishing pier. Very laid back, culturally diverse and eclectic downtown. Saturday morning farmers marker.

Went to the festival today with friends and we had a wonderful time. It was well organized with the ability to park off site and take a very convenient shuttle bus to and from the center of town.
We enjoyed the art work! Some sections were done by students at local schools, some were by local artists, and some national artists. Many had a movie theme ranging from Grease to Star Wars to a myriad of Disney movies. Many had a local theme - the beach, the ocean, etc. And a few really pop and look 3-D when you take a picture.
Probably 50% or more of the pictures were a work in progress - it was fun to watch the artists at work and look at all of the techniques they use. It was clear that some pictures were not going to be complete until late this afternoon. That means the artists worked for ~16 hours on their chalk drawings.
There were several areas with with food stands - lots of choices and the prices seemed in line with other venues. And there was a big 4-sided blackboard kiosk where people could finish the statement 'before I die I want to .....' The blackboard was filled with answers.
If you get the chance, go visit (although you may have to wait until next year).

Lake worth is a very "bohemian" town and to top it off the chalk painting event on lake worth Rd and Lucerne is a blast - great artists and good food

Downtown Lake Worth is a nice little place to walk around, try some food, and spend your time relaxing. Everyone is friendly and it's a good place to be. It needs some improvements as the buildings can be very old. There is definitely potential for it in the future. Be careful, the people are nice, but they can be narrow minded in the sense that if you don't agree with their views, they can snap back at you. Other than that, the people seem friendly. It will be interesting to see how the small town develops through these next few years.

I call downtown Lake Worth the artsy-artsy party of town. There's a real mix of people here, but mostly a very laid back, 'natural' crowd. Most of the shop feature local art, antique/junk shops, tourism shops, laid back restaurants, nicer restaurants, and a great pet store, called Paws on The Avenue. There are some fun festivals held downtown, throughout the year from Jamaican, to chili cook-offs, and street art, not to mention holiday parades, all in a very, very casual lifestyle atmosphere. Come and hang out after being at the beach!!

Very pretty town near the ocean, A1A, and Route 1. We enjoy walking around and visiting the shops and restaurants.

Sweet town. I enjoyed walking in and out of the shops, chatting with the store owners. Definitely will go back shopping on my next visit there.

I've lived in Lake Worth for 18 years and visit downtown at least 3 times a week. It is very casual, laid back and fun to stroll down.

Lake Worth has a bit of everything within a few blocks. The bar scene has sports bars, indie bars, irish bars, rock bars, a jazz club, out doors bars and dive bars. Most of these have live music several nights a week. The dining includes a top rated steak house, local latin foods, a hot dog restaurant, chain and local breakfast places, a coffee house, two chocolatiers, two healthy smoothy cafes, seafood/pub style food, german food, irish/australian food, french fare, east indian food and several asian/sushi choices. The attractions include a famous (and haunted) playhouse, historical buildings, two outdoor venues with stages that offer performances on Friday nights that are kid and dog friendly. Depending on when you visit they may also have many local festivals going on or parades for any number of holidays. Shopping include a costume shop, antiques, used and new items, imports from bali, a surf shop and a few others. Lake Worth offers more culture in a 5 block radius than Ive seen in any other place. All in less than a mile from a beautifully redone beach area, also offering shopping and dining. I highly recommend grabbing some local fare and people watching. Lake Worth is a very eclectic group of people and pets. Quite worth a stop or stay.

This small town is a great place to stay when visiting West Palm Beach as it is only 10minutes drive across the bridge & along the ocean There is a lively Main Street with many good restaurants It has a great atmosphere in the evenings

There is so much to do and see......from the annual "street painting" festival to all the varied pubs and restaurants ("PARADISO" is a gem).

Lake Worth boasts a slew of restaurants and pubs for every occasion. Walk along the lazy and relaxed streets, sit in the city park, visit the library, grab a coffee or delicious ice cream and people watch. Enjoy theatre or even a movie along Lake Street.
Antique shops are long standing shops with expert advice and amazing merchandise. Into retro? Resale shops offer an equally impressive assortment. Check out their community calendar for street fairs held monthly, street musicians and more.
Head out towards the East ( less than 5 miles) on Lake towards the beach and fishing pier. Want to have lunch ir dinner on the beach? visit Bennys on The Beach! You will love Lane Worth!

Nice DownTown on Lake and Lucerne Ave. Variety of boutiques, Restaurants, and Bars. Family-friendly during the day. Be a little more careful at night. Some sketchy characters can be found. The Street-Art Festival in February is really Awesome.

Altho I tend to rubberneck restaurants and eateries, I have seen out of the corners of my eyes, other shops to consider. Unfortunately, my family has little interest in such shops and we had little time for that stroll I want to take. Therefore you must demand time from yourself and others to check it out. It looks as if there is a character or more to explore and when tired of that, sit down at whatever eatery you chance upon and enjoy. Curiosity into the character of a place is what makes traveling fun. Appointments and have-to's are what make traveling a drudge. Take the time to make the stroll.

Lake Worth's downtown may not be as vibrant as some of neighbors but it is easily walked, just as interesting and not as pricey. Take a stroll, visit sone shops and galleries, the grab a quick bite at a locally owned restaurant. Great wY to spend a couple hours.

The downtown area has little to do. It needs to be revamped and updated. There are a couple of restaurants and a movie theater, but not much else. It is home to the sidewalk painting event and thousands attend. Other than that, it's not worth going there. Too many empty businesses shops.

Each year the town of Lake Worth puts on a street art show. It's amazing what these talented artist can do in such a short time ,in the heat and on their knees.Don't miss the opportunity to see these artist in action each year.

I've watched the City of Lake Worth emerge as a really classy, accessible, artsy and friendly town. New stores and new attitudes prevail offering everything from their sidewalk chalk art show to the fashionable boutiques. Definitely worth hanging out.

There was a street painting festival this weekend and it was lovely. Even better they coordinated with SFTA/tri rail to help with transportation. The art is a living document aka constantly changing.

Only spent a short time down town but did walk around to get a feel of the area. Lots of eclectic businesses and if had more time would have gone back and looked further. Suggest if you go to Lake Worth go to the down town area first not last when looking for places to dine.

Loved it! Nice people and stores. Especially the pelican diner , had a great weekend. Airport was cozy.

Too many places call themselves a town or a village or a city but are only an accumulation of shopping centers with restaurants. Delray Beach and Lake worth are two in this area where you can stroll along the main drag with sidewalk restaurants, cafes, a playhouse and small shops to keep your interest. From Lake worth Beach where the fishing pier is, drive west on Lake avenue(which turns into Lucerne), over the draw bridge, past the golf course to Dixie.Make a left on Dixie one block and another left on Lake Avenue, which takes you to the village(1/4 mile). Lake Avenue and Lucern run parralell to each other in the village with lake Avenue having the bulk of the action.Lake Worth may not have the sophistication of Delray Beach but it is plenty fun and plenty going on into the night. It's funky but not low-brow. Go and have fun.

Nice shops and close to the beach. Starbucks and Kilwins chocolate shop are right next door to each other. So convenient!!!

Downtown Lake Worth is small but quite charming town along Lake Avenue. The buildings are a beautiful array of styles and colors that leads to the downtown charm. They many stores along the strip. There are small boutiques, gelato ice cream, bakery, bars and restaurants. We were there on St. Patrick's Day and it was just filled a wonderful parade with people enjoying the day wearing the colors of green. Worth a stop when you are in the area.

We liked Lake Worth because it has a town centre whereas most other US towns and cities have no centre. In Lake Worth, we found everything that we needed close by, such as an ice cream parlour, information bureau, gas station, church, grocery store and farmacy. There are many coffe shops etc, where one can sit and relax, then drive on over the bridge to view the coastal scenery.

Great to walk around on a beautiful day. Nice restaurant's and shops. Family owned businesses and friendly staff

One of the most compact places for culture. From art, food, international reception. There are things to do for all ages and social classes.

Great downtown area with shops and interesting restaurants. Definitely worth walking the area and eating lunch or dinner.

My wife and I were staying for the weekend at one of the beach hotels. We found downtown Lake Worth enchanting.
Great nigh life. Music was in the bars and on the street. We had a blast.
We plan to visit again.

It's a lively little town and you can walk anywhere. Also like that there are bike paths throughout the town and people and really friendly.

Loved our stay in Lake Worth. The little town is sweet. We loved supporting local business. The Pelican was great for breakfast-try their pancakes! The trinkets store was awesome jewelry, of course Starbucks. The pet store had lots of fun stuff. Their are great restaurants and we even were their for the chalk paint event. We loved that it wasn’t super busy or touristy

In order to see this town you must walk. There is not a charge for street parking and in Florida that is hard to come by. Library is great and so are the people who work there. Many things to see

Downtown Lake Worth is Coming Back!
Every time I visit, I see improvements & old buildings being renovated. I'm liking this town more & more.
Tried to buy tickets @ the Lake Worth Theater, but they were sold out. That's a good sign!
I think Lake Worth is on the brink of a boom that will encompass more than just the Downtown area. & That will mean rising demand for housing, more jobs, & improved services. But it's still stuck in the 20th Century.
It just needs a visionary to step out there & take the 1st step in designing & developing a solid community infrastructure that will keep pace with the demands of the new millenium.

I love visiting downtown Lake Worth. It's very diverse with lifestyles and people and everyone gets along great!! Very safe and clean. Lots of little restaurants and shops along the avenue.

It is really beginning to thrive more in the downtown area, great bars, restaurants, art galleries and shops.

The beach area of Lake Worth is quite nice, but the downtown has some issues. There are a few vacant storefronts, and a block or two away things can go downhill pretty fast. There are several fairly good restaurants and a few shops of interest. The pretty little park in the center seems to be a gathering spot for the homeless.

It's the antithesis of big town experiences. It provides everything from excellent fine dining to sand floored picnic table enchilada joints, quaint shops, local art, small theater, art, local crafts, and, if you're lucky, a weekend or art produced right on the pavement of Lake Avenue. Just a fun place to visit.

While Lake Worth and downtown Lake Worth have had their issues (what city/town doesn't??), as someone who has lived here 11 years, I can tell you that many of the problems have been overcome, and the downtown area is headed for even more improvement. I LOVE our downtown area, where I live, and I am not an "addict" and I do not have 1 tattoo nor colored hair (as suggested by a reviewer here.) This is a great, diverse, accepting community, and while gentrification is increasing, I still find us much more charming than the high end, over-priced Wasp haven that is downtown Delray. We have many mom & pop places and I do hope that continued gentrification does not take away this aspect of our downtown area, it's what makes it unique. I AM enthusiastic that Delray's "Sundy House" owners have purchased our historic Gulfstream Hotel, and have major renovation plans that are only going to be a plus to our Lake Avenue. As it stands right now, our downtown area is not much different than Key West was before over gentrification turned that into a "Fast Buck Freddies" generic wasteland that has almost completely destroyed that great, charming, history filled little island, and I'm hoping that doesn't happen here. We are a fun, funky, friendly little "Mayberry" with a twist, with many charming houses, cottages, buildings, businesses, and people, as well as a great indie movie theater and our wonderful historic "Lake Worth Playhouse", and I, like many, love it here and intend to be supportive of its continued improvement..(but, not TOO much..Lol.) I suggest "Midwest Family" stick to white bread Branson/Disneyesque areas and leave our town to us.

We really enjoy going to downtown Lake Worth. There is a good variety of restaurants , bars and shops all within an area 3-4 blocks long and 2 blocks wide. Not nearly as crowded as CityPlace or Clematis. Has a more downhome "artsy" feel to it.

Do not let the reviews fool you. This place is full of homeless, prostitutes, and tranq drug users. Don’t let your children in the yard and stay in at night.

Great fresh açaí bowls! Fresh salad and good sandwiches. Fast service.easy parking right in front of cafe.

I love Downtown lake worth. You don't need to pay to park. That in itself is GREAT. It is casual, flip flop attire. No need to impress anyone. Lots of local business and restaurants. Love it. The shops are neat too.

If you want a small town, little hip place, go stroll the streets here and enjoy the shopping, coffee shops and many places to eat. Lots of live entertainment, and popular among the locals to gather and socialize. There's a good selection of interesting unique shops and a few recognizable restaurants like TooJays and starbucks, and Rotelli's. Check the website for events, like sidewalk art and food trucks, and in the winter there's green market on saturdays.

Lake Worth has really transformed since I moved here in 1994. They have more art, concerts, Festivals etc...The street painting festival that they have each year is my favorite. They have many good dive bars and restaurants too. Just park your car and walk up and down Lake Ave. Stop by Rhum Shack for the Fish Dip!

Unless there is some type of event like the street painting festival. They are trying improve the area but it's surrounded by crime activity that seems to be getting worse which keeps people away. On the upside, there is a good mix of restaurants.

Lovely, lively downtown area with shops, restaurants, bars, music, events, and festivals there is something for everybody! Even when there are no special events happening, downtown Lake Worth is always great for walking and people watching!

Some interesting small shops such as art galleries and antiques, and places to eat and drink if you can find parking. An interesting way to just browse and stroll if you have nothing else to do.

Great area with a lot to offer! Love Dave's Last Resort The food at Dave's is ALWAYS AMAZING!!!1!!!!

one of the most awful places I have ever been the people are rude there is a very high crime rate here and nobody speaks English

I've been living in the area for a month now and i love it. Everything I need only a couple of blocks from my apartment. Thete is something for everyone. People are nice, bike friendly, plently of restaurants, banks close by and just 5 minutes from the beach. It has a small town feel and there are plently of monthly activities to keep you busy. Great place to live, visit and hangout.

Great place to see friends and neighbors. Always music on the stage. Food vendors and other vendors in the Cultural Plaza.

We found parking about 1/2 mile away and walked, others parked over a mile away and lined up for a shuttle bus. Streets in downtown Lake Worth were closed and groups painted onto the streets. Area was packed with artists, vendors and visitors. The shops weren't interesting nor special. The vendors were selling very expensive food and drinks; we would have done better eating in a restaurant. There were shady seats and port o pottys.

Need to renovate the whole downtown lakeworth, most condominium are look like ghost town, no interesting shopping to visit, neighborhood not safe

Downtown Lake Worth is a lot of fun for a night out! Lot’s of great funky little spots to stop
In for live music and drinks, friendly people and some good food! I love Rudy’s Pub on J street for its lively and fun loving local crowd, hippie vibe, groovy decor and eclectic live music! Also, try Matthew’s Brew Pub for awesome local beers and ales. Lake and Lucerne are loaded with restaurants featuring foids for all tastes and budgets. The area can be a bit sketchy so don’t wander too far off the main downtown but make it night! You’ll have a blast!

Stayed in the town for just over 2 weeks over Xmas and New Year, found the town to be friendly with a good mix of restaurants and shops, it does not pretend to be a holiday resort but a small town that embraces visitors.
I read on one of the earlier posts that irpt was full of low lives and drugies and not to go south of downtown after dark, well most towns round the world has areas that you would not venture in to at night, as for low lives etc, it is the only place that I have been to that the "bikers" sit outside Starbucks drinking coffee and saying hello as you walk by, hardly a place to fear.
All in all a great small town with small town atmosphere that welcomes one and all.

My husband and I love Downtown Lake Worth! We adore all of the restaurants and little shops. Our favorite attraction is the Lake Worth Playhouse! They put on some of the best live theatre productions in the county! Downtown Lake Worth is a great place to wind down or have a fun night on the town! They have cool festivals and a super fun Holiday parade every year!

Enjoyed a great evening downtown always something going on
Nice family friendly
Plenty of places to eat

This city is beginning to grow. Many artists. Especially enjoyed the sidewalk chalk paintings in Feb.

Plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping! Downtown Lake Worth is a fun and friendly place to roam. The street art festival is awesome.

My first visit to this place... I loved the down to earth authenticity of the place and people. Forget Sarasota and Palm Beach! Ha!

Attended the beautiful street art festival unlike any other that we have seen in Southern Florida. this was our 4th year and every year gives more attention hot the beauty and skills and adaptive mess of the artists. Some work as teams while others sit in the middle of the street and create . if you haven't been to Lake Worth in what must be the last weekend in February, put this on your 2016 TO DO LIST....parking at the First Baptist Church off the Main Street cost $5 and is supporting church initiatives..land makes one feel so good to help a cause.
Bring an umbrella as we had rain in the past two years!,
But the artisist carried on!

I am biased as I lived here for a while but love Downtown Lake Worth. Always something happening and all sorts of great lil stores, restaurants and bars

Ww qent for ice xream and coffee. Starbucks has closed....:(.
Then, went to get some ice cream and kilwins is about the most expensive place you can find..... Very dissappointing. Nothing else to do with little ones.

Reminiscent of the old homestyle Bohemian charm that that was once so prevalent in South Florida years ago, Lake Worth still holds on to its old stylecharm while his sister cities have surrendered to the contemporary fast-paced style.

Popping little downtown area with your restaurants and bars and other venues. Sometimes they have movies and other parades. History wise, rather simplistic and unexciting.

Was nice enough during the day... Cute shops ..Loved Toojay's ..Went back at night.. completely different story.. A lot of panhandlers ...

Lake Worth has great place sto eat, great little shops privately owned, we love to walk this area at night, lots going on on weekends, and the city itself always has things going on.

Downtown Lake Worth at night is a bunch of dive bars or pubs with live music. The crowd is definitely older and mostly drinking. It can get a bit rowdy but over all its fun. It closes down around 2pm.

Nice walk day and night. Mostly just Lake Avenue. Restaurants, local shopping,Bars, antiques,Coffee shops, ice cream

Cool place to eat, drink, people watch, walk around. Lots of bars and restaurants. Many different options for eating and drinking. You will not find a fancy lounge but a few decent restaurants and a variety of bars. It's not Delray Beach or Fort Lauderdale.

The area is home to restaurants of every price range and style from street style tacos to top scale continental. There are art shops and galleries. There is a fitness center and myriad pubs and clubs.

Downtown Lake Worth is a small bustling area, fun when they have street festivals and street painting. Kids can be amused. The area also has enough bar/ restaurants to make anyone happy

So many good restaurants it was hard to pick a favorite. Wonderful place to meet friends and family for an enjoyable meal. Lots of outside seating.

There's so much to do! Lots of restaurants and shops. Nice to walk around, during the day and night!

We are an artsy feel with a very friendly down to earth vibe about our downtown. The shops and restaurants are small ish town with owners right near by or in the place while you're there.

There is always something happening between Dixie Highway and the Intracoastal on Lake and Lucerne Avenues. Art Gallery, lots of restaurants, stores, bars, concerts in Bryant Park and the off-beat vibe of some beautiful, some freaky, and infrequently some homeless people. The place is alive for a good dinner, drink, strolling, music, and some very on the edge characters.

It was nice, but I wouldn't go back. Everything closes too early in the day, it has a few shops to browse in, but it's mostly dive bars and bad restaurants.

Though I've lived in suburban Lake Worth for 3 years it took me until this week to get to downtown Lake Worth. I was pleasantly surprised. There are many options for food. Good shopping and a good amount of free parking. I will be back more frequently.

Interesting - some national contenders present. Covered several blocks. Live music. Great food vending. Many fun & different stores for shopping in addition to watching the artists.

This is a cute little downtown area that packs in everything. Restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, shopping, books. Very fun and safe.

We visit once a year in the area and don't miss our favorite restaurant , Little Munich, authentic German food. Nice to have that variety while traveling.

It's always fun to visit downtown Lake worth After I move out of the city I'm staying a lover .and the city getting better

Great small shopping options downtown. Bali Importers on Lake Ave. is a must. Great rotating merchandise at amazing prices. Always wish I’d brought an extra suitcase.

A lot of quaint shops all within a short distance of each other, we walked to quite quite few of them, although it was on Sunday and most of them did not opened until noon, quite interesting and real neat.

I always enjoy visiting Lake Avenue. Friendly people everywhere, saying nice things all the time, little interesting shops, good food... It's just a nice neighborhood-y place to be. Stop in at Dave's, Havana Hideout, Bali Imports, Little Munich, Rhum Shak, and many more for some refreshments and a snack. There is usually some live music playing somewhere! A little bit of Margaritaville just a few minutes from Lake Worth Beach.

One of the reasons we bought in Lakeworth is the Fun and Funky factor. There is not the typical polished corporate retail and the people are Very welcoming. There is a variety of eateries which are all unique and delicious. Many great festivals and activities year round. Worth a visit for certain!

We were epecting more stores and food places. The place might be ok for bar goers, but not for a trip to shop. The best thing about it was the Starbucks.

We walked around the downtown area during the day and evening noting the antique shops and otjers. Our favorite is the import shop. They have great prices. Many shops don't open until noon but stay open late. Downtown comes alive in the evening with outdoor dining and bars with open doors and music flowing into the streets. We always have a fun time evenings downtown!

Not like downtown Delray, but it is eclectic and rather fun. Enjoy the Lake Worth Playhouse a lot -- very good shows

Lake Worth is a great town. Lake Avenue is the Main Street. There are many shops, restaurants and bars. It is such a walking City-always a concert, a race on the water and lots going on.

If you are a shopaholic and love the high end stores, then this is the place for you! Enjoy strolling the main streets and don't forget to check out all the vias that will take you back into beautiful courtyards and more shops and restaurants. There are sculptures to catch your fancy and beautifully landscaped area to relax. It's a bit warm during the summer months but the holiday season is just beautiful with all the lights and decorations.

Nice stores and good places for casual eating and drinks. Rustic is a great place for fine dining.Pelicans great place for a very nice breakfast and indian food too.

Lake Worth is transforming to a destination point. New restaurants, bars and shopping places have made Lake Worth an evolving destination point. Plus older buildings are also being refurbished. Parking and the necessity of driving through a questionable area are still problematic!

Nothing exceptional except for the Lake Worth Playhouse. Many shops and restaurants in a low key, local vibe area.

This is a cute place to walk around. Lots of quaint shops and restaurants. Have many great bars with music at night.

Stroll or sit outside at convenient tables outside several businesses and watch the cars cruise by and the young people meeting and greeting. We had good food, good music and people watching, it was fun.

Always some type of activities going on downtown as dining, shopping ,bars and theatre. Our favorite place to dine is Dave's Last Resort on Lake Ave
The food is so good, the staff so friendly and they
are so involved in the community.
Great place to bring kids and also dog friendly.
TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT !!!!!

We wanted to try one on the downtown restaurants. I drove around for almost 30 minutes looking for a parking space as there is only street parking. The restaurant was expensive and the food mediocre and the service was non existent. Atlantic Avenue in Delray has much better restaurants and valet parking as well as garages.

There's soo much to do restraints all sorts from fancy to a place you can get valet parking or a pizza joint .there's a library too..If you are visiting ..there's a lot of panhandlers and beggars.be very carefull

Great place lots of different bars restaurants great bartenders lots if things to do only a mile from the beach we go there all the time

Neat little town that is ever changing. Not very stable as shops are always coming and going. Funky town though and fun to people watch.

Downtown Lake Worth consists of a few blocks with many restaurants, a few antique shops, a local theater (Lake Worth Playhouse), a few boutiques, and some unusual shops. Unless you're taking in a show or dining, you'll probably spend less than an hour there, but the walk is still an interesting one. Warning: Most of the shops close early, so if you're there to shop, get there before 5 pm.

What an amazing town. Always something to do. Very artsy community especially when they hold the annual Street Painting Festival! Great shops and restaurants. Lovely parks and only minutes from a fantastic beach. Lake Worth has something for everyone both young and old!

A cute small town with varied activities. Many delicious restaurants to eat at, some with outside seating. Outside music thru the summer, with food truck service.
Every spring the streets are shut down for a long weekend for the annual street painting
Festival. Many artists with different skill levels come into town to do street paintings. It
Is not only beautiful but a great time to visit. I usually try to go the first night as well as the third, for the finished product. The art is judged and the artists are rewarded.
I suggest it’s a great family adventure.

Lake Worth is a beautiful Florida town, Susan likes the shops and restaurants. Week ends its hard to find parking. The downtown is dog friendly and they have plenty for children to do. Last summer ( July), I went to Carl Stoveland (photographer) exhibit "I am Lake Worth", where he had taken pictures of most of the locals.

We love all of the variety of people & restaurants; and the casual, laid-back way about the place. There is nearly always music within walking distance! South Shores is the best for Blues type music, and Dave's Last Resort is a great casual restaurant with fabulous service and delicious food. Their Chef makes nearly everything from scratch -- even his awesome salad dressings! We love it! If you want something more upscale, Carraberas Steakhouse is great -- but I also love their crab cakes! Wow! There's live music in the square every other Friday night that draws lots of people! Fabulous!

Downtown is awesome lots of good dining place lots of bars and live music, great little unique shops a good place to spend a nice day or evening!

Downtown has evolved from a dull, ugly area in the eighties with feww people seen on the sidewalks to a collection of colorful restaurants with outdoor seating options, updated antique stors, an art museuem and amateur playhouse. Awnings outside of businesses added to the color. Just past downtownis a park by the waterway that hosts arts and crafts festivals and on over the waterway is the beach. I love it there.

Good vibe, good people watching.
Sidewalk eats,and live music.
Car watching. Pet friendly.
Walk, eat drink, sit and people watch.

Lake Worth continues to remake and revitalize itself. Lake Avenue is the center of the city. If you are going to be in the area it is worth it to check out the towns website. Almost every Weekend there are events. Cute shops, fun restaurants and always music somewhere. Pedestrian friendly perfect place to spend the evening when it's too much effort to go into City Place.

Great variety of restaurants, shops and entertainment is always available downtown Lake Worth. Still more of a secret then it should be though weekends are seeing more and more couples and families come down. Several of the cable food shows have been through as well and at least one recent music video was filmed here.
Just a great place to walk around and get a meal.👍👍👍

Really fun area. Especially if you are visiting in FL! Lots of shops, restaurants, etc. And right near the ocean.

Some good casual restaurants, and quite a few junkie shops.
The worst part is the large homeless, bum, squatter problem. Everybody seems down and out and nobody seems to care.
Good place to stroll during the day, but be careful at night.

Disappointing that this town had so much potential. Some of the antique stores are gone and there's a dearth of galleries. Some really good dining spots are gone, replaced by crappy bars

Well, there are an abundance of good restaurants, but nothing outstanding. It is a pleasant and easy walk with a number of shops to browse. Just OK.

Lake Worth is a great little city by the sea, wonderful downtown, many good restaurants, a beautiful beach, I go to swim there daily. One of the best and most charming cities in South Florida, a gem that many do not know about. It has small town charm where you know people when you go for a walk or downtown. Great evening on the avenues the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, many great restaurants downtown. The Street Painting Festival is the best, a must see.

I was pleasantly surprised when we visited this area, to see the small town, small shop
atmosphere. After reading very negative things about Lake Worth in general, I was delighted to see that the east end of the town is alive and well and seems to be thriving.
Because it was evening and we did not have the opoortunity to visit many shops, I cannot say whether or not the prices are reasonable but it looked so inviting that I plan to make another visit soon and check out the area in greater detail.

I love art this event was something my niece suggest to me that I should go .I was glad she told me about it, we had a blast good food beautiful art on the streets and you can get a frame for 25 bucks can't beat that and the frame looks like four to five hundred dollars but for a lesser pice. Great festival to take the family.

Finally got to visit friends for the annual street painting festival! So much fun. Talent galore, vendors, all the local restaurants open and serving happy people! Favorite things from my vacation!

Got to see a little of Lake Worth last year and returned this year to find it more charming than before. The whole commercial area is improving with interesting shops, good food establishments and services such as a great bike shop. Biked around to see the different areas: waterside park, nice residential areas, commercial zone. Its like a small town in many ways, with people who have been there a long time. Not just snowbirds. Am still considering the town as a place to settle for winter vacations and eventual retirement spot.

Downtown Lake Worth, is a town for all ages, it's restaurants are very nice, not fancy, very family friendly, or a wonderful place to take your important other for a quite dinner an drinks. Lake Worth Theatre, is really great, and you will walk out of it, very happy. Dowtown Lake Worth once a year has the greatest street art contest I have ever seen. It has the very very young, and everything in between, the Art on the streets we walk on is just amazing, and you will mark your calendar for the next show. Lake worth center be a great afternoon out, or a Romantic dinner and maybe a moon lite walk on the beach.

Downtown Lake Worth seems to be a bunch of seedy shops on Route 1. Nothing much at all. Very few people around, too.

Not really yr big City main street and all the better for it!
Lots of independents, from coffee shops to cinemas!
There is a Street fair when the street is dedicated to street artists who paint the street! Lots of fun!

The City of Lake Worth REALLY knows how to put on a fun festival every year. I have been to this several times over the past few years. This year (2020) was by far the very best (though, it is always great). By the way, the festival is FREE! I love free!
First and foremost, the chalk art is amazing. For a person to draw, with CHALK, all these beautiful images is nothing short of astonishing. Each and every one is beautiful.
We went on Sunday, 2/23 and the South Florida weather was perfect. The crowd was huge, but it didn't matter - it was a glorious day to be outside and looking at art, eating at all the amazing food booths, listening to music on the stage (and musicians around the festival), and just enjoying a free day of art, music, food and fun.
Besides the art and the music on stage, there is SO much food. From the roasted corn booth to the arapas to the craft beer, frozen drink stands - to the tons of grilled foods - the food is fantastic! I suggest you go hungry to enjoy all the good food.
I highly recommend this to anyone for next year. It's free and it's a great way to spend the day (kids and doggies welcome!). Street parking is free all around the festival - but, it can be challenging once it gets crowded. But, be patient and you will find a spot. There are also a few paid lots, but no need to pay - just keep driving till you find street parking. I believe there are also some park-and-ride lots - so look at the festival website and see about that if you don't want to deal with parking. I found a spot pretty quick a block away.
I highly recommend this event. The Lake Worth City planners do such a beautiful job with this festival!

It’s a quint town with lots to see bars, art of all sorts by local artists , great playhouse, and all sorts of dinnning . Just walking along the streets there is so much to see and do and the town of lake worth is always doing things down town to bring the people out. It’s a must while here for sure.

Great festival, lots of vendors, all restaurants packed. It was a beautiful day and really enjoyed the atmosphere, Children, dogs.perfect visit. Sad that Havana hideout is closed.

Free spirited, accepting, tattooed, old, young, redneck, solid middle class, eclectic all go through the mind whether having dinner, lunch or attending the many festivals . Bring an open mind and have fun.

Beautiful street painting it just amaze me the local talent just excellent they even have a child area to paint all you can say when you see the art is OMG!!

Downtown Lake Worth has some really nice restaurants, consignment shops, coffee shops, the mandatory fudge shoppe, and gift shops. As one would expect, there were a fare share of bars; some blaring with loud music and outdoor seating, others quieter but offering the basics: beer and rum.
We enjoyed strolling around every day and taking in the street life.

It's a nice area under construction. The vibe is nice. The city of Lake Worth is trying to change the name to Lake Worth Beach. I support that name change. It will be a great

Great experience seeing the painter working on their creation...wonderful opportune time to bring and spent time with the family. Plenty of food to select and the weather is great

We love coming here and just wandering around on the weekend it’s such a quaint cozy go downtown with lots of little shops tucked in and I was very happy to find a snowball place recently as it brings back very fond memories of my childhood.

Recently relocated to a condo close to downtown Lake Worth and have been enchanted with it's ambience. Shopping is superb, resturants awesome and lively entertainment quite frequently. If you have not been to the street painting event ...it is an absolute must. Evening on the Avenue...awesome!!! People Friendly!!! ....oh and pooches too!

When I was in Mexico I met this great girl from Lake Worth
.. and being the friendly person she was, she invited me to Her home.
Well what a wonderful surprise, what a great town with such friendly people, lots of live music at night, great bars & restaurants.
A variety of shops & cafe's, along with many historic structures & a strong artistic culture. So cool ...such a vibrant & hip downtown.
What a great place
Unfortunate town...TWILIGHT ZONE
Lake AVE has a lot of potential.
But, unfortunately it is a very sad little town.
Not very exciting....
No events....
4th fireworks are not that great....
Menus never change....no drink specials or drink vendors visiting....
Not very colorful.....
Not beachy at all....feels more like NEW YORK CITY
Can't even find a bathing suit in town....towel or flip flops....
Kind of unfortunate.
