Visitors Center is a good place to get information on Estes Park and Rocky MT. Nat. Park. Went to golf course, next door, saw 3 Bull Elk on one end and 17 female elk on other end, hundreds of geese in middle, but no golfers.

By paflutie |

Most of the time, this is a great place right in town to view the elk, as they frequent the golf course. Actually, the occasional bear has been known to wander around there as well! This is also the location of the new parking garage, so it's a great place to park and take the tunnel under the busy intersection into town!

By c carlon |

Besides the line I had to wait in, the lady was very helpful. Gave me some great tips on things to do.

By Nancy P |

The staff here are very helpful and very knowledgeable. Staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy talking abou the area.

By tnk9581 |

Good place to start your trip. Lots of information. The volunteers are very helpful. We even ran into the one who helped us out on one of the trails!

By gheartgemini |

The Mountain View’s are amazing... we just drove up and went back down due to the wild fires the shops had just opened bank up for us to take a brief look around

By dallasgirl53 |

The visitor center at Estes Park is a jewel for the visitor, Informative materials for free pickup and personnel available to answer questions. The facility itself is clean and new. There is plenty of parking and one can leave their car there if they take the shuttle into the park for the day.

By Sue R |

Great place to stop and get lots of information. Very clean and right along the river! This is also the place to ride any of the shuttles to various sights.

By cacoates |

Impressive visitor center with lots of information, clean restrooms, computers to look up even more information, and free parking.

By Mug |

This is well staffed by well trained staff. If you want to see town easily, park in the new parking garage next to the visitor center an avoid all the parking hassles in a small community

By Terri D |

Come on, where else are you going to go to get the best info? This is a no-brainer. Staff is great, facilities are immaculate and it's user-friendly (unlike very unreliable cell towers while traveling through the area -- can't depend on your cellphone for directions, ha ha!).

By Cbob |

Plenty of maps of the town and Rocky Mountains. Brochures and magazines for local shopping and restaurant info.
Flip through restaurant menus were great help.

By Lisa B |

The visitor center staff was very helpful in suggesting trails and highways for our trip through the Rocky Mtn National Park.

By Clark G |

Walked all aloing the river walk, which is also a must do if you are here, made our way to the center, very nice place, they have a free parking deck if you want to park here and walk into the main part of town or ride a shuttle that is also free, all around nice place

By Pmans |

It was a very beautiful 80 degree late June day down below as we started up into the mountains, and thousands of feet up on the mountain top it was in the chilly 40 degrees.
The visitor center up on top of the mountain was real interesting w/ a gift shop & walking paths to overlook the steep cliffs below. Perfect for picture taking w/ animals running around.
On our way back down it started sleeting & there are absolutely no guard rails along the roadsides - w/ a Motorcycle getting wet a slippery are no fun & very hard to stop - luckily we did survive, but it sure was scary!!!!!!

By Ken |

We arrived in Estes Park unsure of what we should see. We stopped at the visitor center located on the river with free parking. The people working there were polite and very helpful . I especially liked there honest assessment of trail ridge road. ( not so scary) A bonus was the elk roaming around outside, seemingly un bothered by our presence

By Traveler45592 |

Excellent elk viewing. Very scenic drive to the Alpine Visitors Store at the pass. Great fall colors

By 50yards |

My family had a fantastic experience here. The staff were very helpful in explaining how the local free shuttle service worked. Once we figured out the times, routes, and destinations it made our experience in Estes Park even better than we expected.

When part of our family wanted to do some early morning hiking (and use the Wagon Queen Family Truckster) in Rocky Mountain National Park, others of us were able get a quick ride downtown (via the Shuttle Service) to enjoy a nice coffee @ Kind Coffee, and do a little shopping until we all met back up again for lunch.

Drivers were very courteous and helpful also!

By Pam H |

was very helpful in planning what we were going to do for the short time we were going to be in Estes Park

By michaelralph |

Only 4 spots for RV or trailer parking. Make sure you don't park in several "car" spots, even if there are 20 others available and you are parked far away. You will get a ticket asap. No idea where else to park. Wont be back to this town if this is how they treat visitors. No idea how you park in the summer

By C Clifford |

Estes park was beautiful, definitely have to take a trip when Mount Evans opens up. Weather was beautiful at the beginning of May still

By Todd R |

Always a good place to start any of our trips, any one can find places (seeing or eating) you may have not heard about.

By Glen S |

Park, enjoy the visitor center, catch a bus, or walk to town this is a great location to start from. The new parking garage across the river is awesome. Note however while there are special needs parking spaces there are no elevators in this facilities -- important for families with small children wielding strollers as well.

By rbstrategist |

Estes Park is an outstanding venue. Perhaps a bit touristy, but worth it. Great food. Great shoppes. Great history and a fun place to walk. To learn about the area and the Rocky Mountain National Park, the Visitor's Center is right at the gateway to the National Park. It has an outstanding collection of souvenirs and gifts and you can visit rangers and have a meal. All set in the sight of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Worth a stop.

By JohnPatsi |

Great facility right outside the entrance to the park it was a starting point to go hiking to the lakes of the Rocky Mountains we enjoyed it very much the welcome center it was very informative

By looselips2017 |

After nearly two decades attending this festival it’s is hard to express my deep disappointment with this year’s event. The tattoo with no bagpipes and drums was not a tattoo. No step dancers and dogs of the British Isles was MIA. Over the years the prices have increased and quality decreased. Sad turn for a once great festival.

By Todd G |

Nice and all the information in one spot. Lots of parking in front of building, Nice new parking garage behind building for shuttles to RMNP. Bathrooms inside are nice and clean. Places to sit and read up on where to go.

By Kim |

You will be surprised how many different animals will appear. I think the only thing we did not see was a bear. The visitor center was very helpful with places to visit.

By Reign68 |

Great small town to explore. It was a quiet yet old country clean town. We enjoyed walking the street with lots of stores, souvenirs shop and restaurants. Love the atmosphere of the mountain , green pinetrees , small bridges and running creeks to see. Excellent weekend getaway with family.

By Diane D |

Everything you want to know about the region you can find here. Beautiful inside and out. Great job Estes Park.

By spatts |

Fairly new parking center is free, with beautiful walkways and bridges that connect with downtown, avoiding having to walk through busy intersections. Center provides useful information and bathrooms, center hub for bus shuttles to RMNP and trolley to downtown. Really nice and peaceful river walk.

By RICART75 |

A good place to start one's visit to Estes Park, and surrounding areas.
The facility is well maintained (with clean restrooms); and built to resemble a large chalet. Comfortable chairs allow one to enjoy some stunning views; while reviewing maps, brochures, etc. There is a wealth of information from which to choose; and when available, staff are around to offer assistance (being off-season, the front desk often seemed unstaffed).
This, however, is still a great place to orient oneself to the area.

By rockwood19 |

This is such a beautiful visitor's center with a huge gift shop & restaurant. It was unfortunate that the restroom was absolutely horrifying. One little girl went to go into a stall & before I could stop her from going in; she looked inside the stall & literally screamed. The entire restroom was horrible. I know it was busy, but come on guys. You can do better. I'm only rating it poor due to the restroom facilities.

By dmjungbluth |

Informative and Beautiful area just to walk around! It is near Estes Lake and close to Downtown! They had many pamphlets to take and magazines to take and look through with all the wonderful things to do in Estes Park! What a Wonderful Newly built facility!

By CandE_Evans |

Went to the Visitors Centre to get information about seeing Elk. The advice as to where to go were spot on and we weren't disappointed in seeing elk. The staff member we spoke to was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

By Brian F |

A good place to stop by if you need maps before heading over to Rocky Mountain Natural Park or are looking for a place to eat nearby.

By Sandi T |

The employees at this visitor center really want to help you. They go over and above to give you local info and directions.

By JulsGo |

Stopped by on our first day to get information on the area and on RMNP... The lady at the desk was very helpful and answered all our questions!

By Amazing Women Travel |

I love parking here. It's free and we've always found a spot. Most of the time we walk under the road through an artsy walkway that goes straight to the river and main shops. But if you want, catch the trolley for a free ride back and forth to town.

By russkwtx |

You can get free maps and information about activities here. Agents are very knowledgeable and friendly. Clean bathrooms. Free parking.

By Jackie M |

This is a must stop BEFORE entering into the park.
the staff here are very informed about where to see the animals and what to do WHEN you see them. It is a good place to expose the kids to the wildlife they could be encountering. They offer hike recommendation based on the level of experience as well as altitude adjustment. The rangers will make your experience in RMNP one to remember. Stop in and learn from their experience, to make you time more fun and rewarding!

By scooterpieWisconsin |

Having never been in the area before, the best place to hit is this travel center. Very clean and informative with everything you’d need to know. They even have large menus from several local restaurants. Although we never spoke with anybody, I’m sure if we had wanted to, someone would have helped us. Got our pamphlets and headed out to explore the town.

By kansasphotogal |

If you are visiting Estes Park and don't go to the visitors center you will miss out on much of the great opportunities here. The parking garage and shuttle service are wonderful. The walking paths around town are incredible. Rocky Mountain National Park information is available here too.

By Alain L |

While visiting Estes Park for a second time in two years, we needed to get some information about the Estes Park Shuttle Bus Service. We approached the Information Desk and spoke with a Middle age woman, whose name I wish I had gotten. When we asked about the Shuttle Bus Service we were told to take a brochure and all the information we needed was in it. We examined the brochure and asked about Downtown Shuttle Service, since the town has three or four different services. The response to our inquiry was...."It's on the back". My wife and I looked at the brochure again and realizing the lady was not in a particularly good mood (at least with us). We left. We both commented to each other....."Hey lady your in the Customer Service Business, If you having a bad day don't take it out on us."

By Dorothy2012 |

Great place to pick up information on the entire region of Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park.

By Bethany Z |

this visitor was very informational about all of the animals and the nature that is in estes park. i would definitely recommend stopping by here to learn more about estes park!

By SMW619 |

We drove to the Visitor Center while on our way back from a college visit—so just a way to drive closer to the mountains. The drive is beautiful, with many places to stop and take pictures. Daughter had some issues with altitude as we got in to Estes Park (7000 feet) so anyone sensitive may want to acclimate for a few days before making the trip. (We are from a low altitude state.)

By labiblioteca |

1st place we stopped in when we arrived at Estes Park. Parked in front lot and headed in after a brief walk across the bridge over the spillway. There is a nice parking garage across the foot bridge from the visitors center Place was a bit busy but picked up some flyers and free visitors magazines. They had a bunch of maps and other RMNP information. Spoke to a center volunteer and he was very helpful in telling me where to fish and buy groceries. Nice folks and very helpful.
Make sure and go in and walk around and talk to some of the nice people in there. Actually fished the spillway and caught a few trout in the deep water.

By alcorder |

The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Thet can offer insight as to community events, shopping, shuttles, etc.

By Shirley C |

The people at the visitors center were very helpful and very pleasant to visit with. Very knowledgeable about the area.

By MsKass |

About 3 to 4 people on staff to assist with any questions. They mainly have to do with hikes and trails that are most popular

By Janet P |

Stopped by the center to get road conditions in Rocky Mountain National Park. The helpful agent gave us detailed instructions and a map pointing out places to see. Park in the nearby parking garage if area is crowded.

By paulsykes2020 |

Before you start looking for things, you need to know where to go and what to see. This is the BEST place in the local area to find information, not only about Estes Park, but also about Rocky Mountain National Parks. Maps, directions, things to see, and much more information is available for the asking...and taking.

By LuvToTravel0899 |

The National Park Service does it best. We did not watch a film as Covid precautions were in place but the rangers working there were extremely helpful.

By Randy R |

CVBs always want to point tourists to their visitor centers. However, with sites like TripAdvisor and other online venues, the visitor center has suffered the same as brick and mortar stores. Not in EP. Super nice people, well informed and full of great suggestions. Plan on stopping!

By goldendoodletours |

The staff was not overly knowledgeable, knew some of the basics. Really had to warm them up to get them to share much information. The weekend staff didn't know much about the Geocaching supported by the Visitor's Center but luckily the staff working in the office during the week. Strongly suggest doing the Geocaching - ask for a brochure behind the counter. We also had fun searching for the Pikas in town.

By grace0620 |

This Visotor Center offers a great restaurant as well as a Two Story gift shop. You can find anything & everything in this gift shop. We had a wonderful time browsing their many, many interesting items.

By Shamr0ckG |

Helpful staff: personable and knowledgeable. The setting is gorgeous, too. If you’re not parked in a 30 minute parking space, you can park here all day free of charge.

By Gene P |

Nice building but we were expecting more than tourist brochures and clean bathrooms. Limited historical information.

By Richard B |

A pleasant one hour drive from Fort Collins into the mountains with the Rockies as a backdrop could not be more pleasant for a charming stroll thru the community with literally something for everyone from outdoor hiking, horseback riding to shopping. The scenery is spectacular !

By Mary P |

The Visitors Center is an excellent place to go to first when you arrive at the park. There is so much information that you can get about the park. They give you maps of all of trails that are open and they also tell you where you might be able to see wildlife. This was our second time at the visitor center and park, we will be back.

By Michael P |

Great place to start to get information in Estes Park. Staff happily answered all question and provided helpful suggestions. Plenty of parking and right next to the Estes Lake Trail and downtown river walk.

By mysticks1 |

Take the time to stop here when you get to Estes Park. You will find lots of brochures and information that will make your visit there more enjoyable.

By patty j |

Visitors centers are usually interesting and informative and always have books, maps, etc. for sale.

By sanooke |

Loved everything about Estes park. The four seasons was terrific with private hot tub! Family ran and owned. Very nice and accommodating. Great shops in walking distance. The Stanley hotel is a quarter mile from our cabin room. And the entrance to Rocky Mountain park. Elk came right up to us.we were there in October so they had came down off the mountains.

By McFerrid |

There is so much to do in and around Estes Park. Our group of five could not decide what to do but visiting the center gave us some excellent ideas. Simply driving around town can give you some big surprises. Elk on the golf course? Be efficient with your time and go here upon arrival!

By beth ann k |

I went here twice looking for things to do. They have a lot of information on the area and seem very helpful.

By 4Airedale |

Very friendly and helpful employees at this visitor center! Maps, suggestions, helpful hints and more. Free parking and bathrooms also.

By Denise G |

We actually stopped here several times during our vacation last month. The staff is so very helpful. Suggest hiking depending on your need for easy, moderate, difficult, knows where animals are being sighted that day, the conditions of the roads (if closed due to snow, etc.) and gave us stickers and maps!!!

By Mikez428 |

Super friendly staff. Great information, maps, books, etc. This is a good place to stop in as a home base for Estes Park. Very large and roomy.

By travelshooter71 |

Great place to go if you have never been in the park before...Multi level parking and very well done

By X3102SLjane |

Estes Park was packed with bumper to bumper traffic going into the main entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. We jumped out of line to pop into the visitors center and were so glad we did. The lady behind the desk showed us some alternate routes for scooting around town and a back entrance to the park. The place is clean and packed with information and very helpful staff.

By dudpa |

Free wifi, free computers, free shuttle stop, free parking in the 3 story garage!! Great bathrooms, lots of info on the National Park and surrounding areas. They have really made this a place to stop in and get what you need!

By Richard K |

This is one of the most accommodating and beautiful Visitor Information Centers we have ever visited. Staff/Volunteers are knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Plenty of rest rooms and parking. Also, there is a golf course nearby that appears to be a favorite of the Elk during mating season. Today, we saw a herd (or harem!) of elk there. Such a beautiful town with great shops and restaurants.

By Ray P |

The staff was very friendly and offered very good information on dining and sight seeing driving routes.

By analina-lecoq |

Who knew we were going to meet so many animals and wild life creations! Very calm, good for small walks or ride via cars. The kids and I both really enjoyed this day at Estes Park.

By MKJourneys |

Well stocked and staffed visitor center. New parking garage just opened to help with the crush of visitors. Also shuttle pickup location for hikers up in Rocky Mountain National Park

By SteveWatson0522 |

We stopped in to get a current Colorado map. The place is clean, bright and the people are helpful. If you have questions, this is the place to start.

By SDB |

Employees very knowledge of the area or if not willing to assist you to find an answer.
Great place to get information about town touring, especially about free trolley info.

By D6795PDannak |

Highly recommended first stop on the trip to the Estes Park area. Information is well organized by area of interest - lodging, restaurants, things to do, etc. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Good selection of postcards and calendars to choose from. Also, up to date information available on the status of trails and weather forecast.

By DJH2010 |

This Visitors Center is an good place to go to before entering the National Park. The Park Rangers can provide information that you can use to get around in the National Park. You can obtain maps of all of the trails. The Park Rangers will take time to personally review with you the features and trails in the National Park. There are books, patches, hats, t-shirts, etc. available for purchase.

By sharrongeg |

Best first stop ever! (and we travel a lot)

Free parking, free shuttles, 3 great Ambassadors to help you plan your visit, clean bathrooms, leather couches to relax on and 3 dozen huge elk lounging right outside their windows!

Ambassador John was super helpful and had a great smile. Thank you John!

Highly recommend!

By Angie H |

It looks nice but when you go in I felt it was a little light on information. A lot of their brochures were out, I thought there would be a little more history inside.

By Holmes Family |

What a peaceful area to take a break from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Hop on one of the free shuttles and see the area, shop a little, tour the Stanley Hotel, and hopefully spot some wildlife. Great spot to chill and relax for a few before getting back on the road.

By DK5trips |

My daughter and I used the free town shuttle this weekend. It was a terrific ride. Very clean with friendly drivers. We were staying a couple miles out of town. Walked in to shuttle stop and rode the rest of the way to town. Excellent service so we didn’t have to use our car or need parking.

By Stevethearchitect |

There are good facilities here. Restaurant, viewing deck, shop, etc, next to the visitor centre. It’s a good place to rest and refresh before seeing the scenery and joining the lines of cars and buses.

By gooddog88 |

We visited Estes Park, from PA, this month. The ambassadors are most helpful here, I think the one we asked questions to was named Roger.

By memphis_momofyr |

I found the staff to be rude. We asked a couple of questions (like where we might see elk and how to get to the park) and were answered with sarcasm. If you don't like your job, which is to help people, stopping at the visitor's center for information, get another job.

By madNY |

We stopped in here looking for specific information and the people were super nice and helpful. They also sell souvenirs at reasonable prices. And they have many maps and tour books for Estes Park and all the surrounding areas.

By Tim55675 S |

We always stop at the visitor centers in all our National Parks to get our pass port books stamped. This center has a good movie to show you the park highlights and a great map room to look at the trails and park roads. The staff here was excellent in helping answer our questions.

By BGC-1219 |

The staff was welcoming and informative. Lots of good suggestions on things to do and see. Appreciate the guidance and help

By taikogirl1 |

Great place for all the happenings in Estes. The staff was friendly and helpful. Make sure to stop in before exploring.

By Lee G |

Volunteers staff a desk inside and are knowledgeable about the area and provide some useful free guides and maps. The visitor's guide had coupons (we used one for 10% off a dinner). Clean restrooms and free parking for the nearby riverwalk.

By TeeSue |

They've built a flippin' multi-story parking garage! No, really. Free parking. Right next to the visitors center and near the access to a fine walking trail. Estes Park ... you surprised me!

By knelso18 |

I want to thank the wonderful man at this visitor center. He took his time explaining the map in great detail to me and the points of interest up to the peak (like where to pull car over). I felt their map was better than the one given at the entry gate.
He was so kind, I almost wanted to cry I was so thankful.
Positives:
1. Restrooms...Huge clean restrooms. A must before entering park.
2. FREE parking. I couldn't believe a free parking ramp right in the middle of everything. ALso offer free shuttle service to many locations. Perfect to park and go.
3. Maps. They had a ton of traveller info, sights, and maps. Also had dining info etc.
4. Beautiful grounds also, neat bridge and water falls area. Plenty of seating outside if need a rest and just look at the view.

By Liz A |

This visitors center is big and modern looking . . it had bathrooms (they were clean) and a few racks of brochures. The staff did seem helpful if you had questions. Overall, it didn't help with our trip at all.

By Lou Suarez |

They offer great brochures of area attractions, clean bathrooms, and GREAT volunteers (I think) that are very informative

By JeffG1234 |

Beautiful building right downtown, don't confuse it with the park VC. The volunteers were very helpful and knowledgeable.

By Voyager5280 |

Helpful volunteers, shuttles to Rocky Mountain National Park and to town, parking, restrooms, water bottle fill-up.

By Bonnie H |

By 2TravelersMn |

The Estes Park Visitor Center is the eastern gateway to the amazing Rocky Mountain National Park. Staff at the Visitor Center is very helpful and will make sure that you get the most out of your time in this amazing national park.

By vandiverr2016 |

Great place in Estes Park to get area information and general good conversation. Road conditions, weather, city elk viewing and eateries.

By merrym00n |

there are many menus of surrounding restaurants, which i loved! information on things to do, and people there to actually talk to!

By Mar L |

The staff were very helpful and the place is comfortable and fully stocked with info for an Estes Park visit. The riverwalk is just behind the center so great for a walk into downtown.

By Rachel P |

We stopped in on a weekend when the parking lot was full and the building was overwhelmed with visitors. We patiently waited in line and were able to speak with an employee, Kate. She was fantastic!!! and had so much info to offer!! She was friendly and personable and never rushed us. She answered all our questions and gave us recommendations that suited our style. We were glad we took the time to stop in at the beginning of our trip so we knew all that Estes Park had to offer.

By fratwin |

Lots of Information in the form of pamphlets and they were very helpful answering questions. A good place to start figuring out what you want to do.

By sb c |

Visitors Center Open for restrooms during COVID. Plenty of parking in garage. Firefighters posted information about the Cameron Fire affecting the north part of RMNP gave a briefing outside. Thurs. Farmer's Market in parking lot.

By Travljunky2017 |

The people at the visitors center are nice, but with the current construction, a major water main issue I think, there's not much to recommend. Hard to get anywhere they recommended and I understand this is just the beginning of the construction season up there - downtown bridges and some "loop" the town is implementing this summer. Yikes!

By Outdoor43 |

The staff was really friendly, though they din't have much info on surrounding areas. It would be nice to have more info on scenic stuff to do in the surrounding areas. The building and facilities were very nice and clean.

By Janet L |

This town does it right! Plenty to do , laid out nicely. Lots of shopping, great walking areas, free shuttles, well secured. This is a busy place but the city has thought it through and the visitors center is a great hub. Lots of helpful people, computers, clean rear rooms, fill station for water, every type of brochure and much more. If you’re headed to RMNP this is a great base camp. Beautiful scenery from every spot.

By Sandy O |

This visitor center has lots of information about the surrounding area and people to answer questions. Lots of brochures on places to stay and places to eat and visit. Clean restrooms too.

By Barry E |

WWe did a late season run up to Estes Park just to see what it was all about. The visitors center is simply to find as they built a multi story parking garage there. Having a heard of Elk sitting in the grass also helped. Staff was helpful and quick to assist and the restroom ( open after hpurs) was clean. We did a loop of downtown and decided to make a future overnight trip when the high country road is open for traffic, snow.

By Salina M |

Great place to gather information about the National park and the surrounding area. Clean restrooms and friendly stsff

By RagsKP94 |

If you are coming to Estes Park from Boulder or Denver you will see this right on the way in. There is a new parking garage just before you get there. It is the place to park not only for the visitor center but for downtown too. And it is free.

The visitor center is modern and the people extremely nice.

By Harold M |

Information The staff was extremely knowledgeable on activities and not only Estes Park but that area of Colorado most helpful and enjoyed meeting you and learning 🇺🇸

By maryanne156 |

very helpful people who are willing to share their knowledge of rmnp...and helpful rangers who get you ready for shuttle to same park.

By Celeste M |

This was a great Estes Visitor Center. They had brochures on Everything local, even the menus for restaurants.
There is so much to do, and the fall colors were beautiful. Traffic is the biggest headache. I

By PasssionateTraveler |

Relatively new facility (I think) with restrooms and knowledgeable staff. Lots of self-help information available concerning hikes, restaurants, and hotels. A very nice kid friendly "hike" along the river begins out the back door, that takes you by cute shops and restaurants.

By ICU1274 |

Very Nice Visitors center. The ladies there provided a lot of great information about Estes Park and the sounding area. Lots of maps and things to do brochures

By Mrs. James |

We stopped at the visitor center for information about driving through Rocky Mountain National Park late afternoon. The lady was so helpful and gave us a map with highlighted routes and suggestions on how to see as much of the park as we could before dark. The visitor center was clean and the restrooms were also.

By Jody N |

The Estes Park Visitor Center is a great place to get info on the area and very pleasant staff. They have restaurant and lodging brochures and guide books on not only Estes Park but Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding cities. Definitely worth the stop if you have never been to the area.

By Rebekajean |

This is where you can either pick up information about the area or talk with informative volunteers about what to do and see. We loved the huge parking facility near-by, the beautiful building and the colorful well cared for plants and landscaping. The large easy to read menu flip book was a nice touch. Clean restrooms, lots of pamphlets, maps, all that you need to make your stay enjoyable. It is also the location of the local shuttle service, plug-ins for electric cars and the start of the river walk and did I mention the parking is free.

By jan |

The ladies here are so kind and understanding. They know you need help and give great recommendations of places to visit. Maps are provided to show u neat things to see and go do while in town. I especially appreciate the lady at our hotel campfire that told us she worked here. She was full of great ideas for our vacation. The view if the river is also pretty rightmost their back walkway.

By Marlys K |

Had several free shuttles that allowed us to view areas of the park comfortably without having to drive and try to look around. Especially nice for seniors.

By Heatgerl |

The Estes Park Visitor Center is a great place to stop to get your trip to Estes Park going. They have information about the local attractions, lodging and dining. The brochures are organized by category which really saves some time.
The rest rooms were plentiful and clean.
There is a nice stream out the side door and there are beautiful views all around.

There is also plenty of parking for cars, vehicles with trailers and RVs.

By VAD859 |

disappointed. 1st stop when coming to Estes Park.

You will appreciate the beautiful and informative facility, the knowledgeable staff/volunteers, and wealth of information to be garnered here. Very nice gift shop with a wealth of resources on Estes Park.

Even though we had visited the area before, it had been quite a few years so we stopped here for a refresher about the area. We enjoyed visiting with the employee there who offered some great tips. The visitor center is right on a main drag so you can't miss it.

rockies are cool but frankly not as impressive as their reputation. but still worth it if your in denver for a while.

Rocky Mt National Park Visitor center was informative and helpful for our trip to the park. Our drive to the park was snowy and magical.

By KathernN |

Having only 4 full days in Estes Park, our first stop was the Visitor Center. We were there early the first full day and talked with Kathy, who gave us ideas of what to see and showed us on the map where to go to take full advantage of our stay. She was very helpful and the time we spent at the Visitor Center was well worth it!

By tntdynamics |

They seem to enjoy their job. Always helping. Giving directions, acknowledgement of the area, recommendations for food and hotels. Nice to have a shuttle. Great place to park and enjoy town.

By Rosemary S |

Very well maintained and knowledgeable staff; free parking and shuttles available to downtown Estes.

By Dipti P |

The staff was very helpful. They guided us to plan our visit so we could cover a lot of places in a short amount of time.

By sjurek |

Definitely helpful stopping in! Received great maps and advise! Definitely push the natural “things to do” which was great! This time of year many of the commercial attractions were closed.

By uniftbl |

The volunteer ladies were very helpful on our first day in Estes Park. They gave us tips and helped us plan our 3 days there. Highly recommend everyone stopping there first.

By campbellhall1 |

Great way to begin your trip by stopping here and gathering reference material, and knowledge of the area from locals.

By Marta F |

I can only say the staff really provides you great guidance...this is a late review -but I owe it to this staff. This place saved our lives as it made our time and scheduling so more manageable when we were newbies in Estes.

By StonecreekArabians |

Great mountain chateau type building housing the visitors and information center. Easy to find off the highway. Right next to the golf course which was closed because a herd of elk had decided to use it as a pasture. Great photo ops of the great antlered male, his "harem" and the babies. The visitor's center has information about hiking, drives to take, the National Park, and the town of Estes Park. The volunteers are fabulous and a wealth of information. Do yourself a favor and start here on your journey.

By Stephanie Rogers de Almeida |

A must stop if you need info on where to go for food and everything Estes Park. Very nice ladies who gave us simple clear directions.

By laurapE2167OW |

You really need to stop here and get all the information about the surrounding area. There are maps and brochures about everything and everyplace. The people are very helpful.

By camn21252 |

Make the Visitor's Center your first stop at RMNP as the staff is so helpful in maximizing your visit. We had one day and the volunteer helped us plan a day full of hiking and beautiful drives.

By Cherri A |

One of the nicest Visitor Centers! We visited at a busy time... During the Scottish Festival.... and were greeted kindly and found plenty of reading material to help us get to know the area better! Can't wait to go back and explore more!

By Richard B |

Estes Park Visitors Center is a good place to get acquainted with Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park in CO. Its the entry point to the park and has food, souvenirs, and excellent information in a beautiful setting. Good place to start your exploration into the National Park.

By Thimbles&magnets |

We went here to get free parking to walk down the river walk and the Main Street in town. Also used the bathroom which was very large and picked up a few pamphlets!

By CC28 |

When you stop in, the folks are extremely knowledgeable and can give you some insight to top spots to check out as well as some rich history. They also have a wonderful gift shop inside and lots of interactive displays to check out. I’d highly recommend stopping in.

By ProfCoop |

It's obvious that Estes Park survives on tourism, and they make the most of it with there great visitor center. Spacious, full of info, clean restrooms, and very friendly locals who are glad to share tips for visitors. Definitely the place to start your visit to Estes Park and the area (including Rocky Mountain National Park). Note: they only have limited info about RMNP and don't have maps or sell National Park passes - you get those at either of the two entrances to RMNP just west of the city.

By JNS |

The folks at the Estes Park Visitor Center couldn't have been more helpful to us as we put together, with their help, information to give to our wedding guests of the varied activities available in and around Estes Park .... and b/c of Covid, they were careful to provide info that was current.

By CPOJ |

Very helpful and friendly staff, particularly a lovely old lady at the counter: clear recommendations and warnings. We needed directions for this our first visit here, in a very cold winter season.
Nice facilities and clean restrooms.

By Randall Wilburn |

Beautiful place. Nice people. Lot to see.great place to take a rest. Everything you need to plan you're stay.

By MN-FIRE |

Beautiful place and friendly helpful staff. Many good suggestions and info. Love RMNP. Would highly recommend stopping at visitor center

By Adders |

The people in this Centre are very knowledgeable and friendly. They gave us excellent advice about the park and where to find Elk in town.

By catsaresmarter |

Offers maps, information, flyers and anything you might need to assist in appreciating the area in every way.

By ILRustMan |

Definitely worth the stop. Will save you time from having to research everything for yourself. Can be busy on the fall weekends.

By Sailorsgirl |

The Estes Park Visitor Center is closed due to the Pandemic. The restrooms are open and are spotlessly maintained. It's still a nice walk along the Big Thompson River behind the Center. There are places to sit and listen to the river flow past and watch the golden Aspen leaves fall to the ground. We visit Estes Park almost every year. This was the first time we have visited in the Fall and of course there is the Pandemic. People in Colorado and especially in Estes Park seem to be following safety procedures very well. We are happy to be in the fresh mountain air. I won't be able to answer some of the questions in regard to this review because these are not normal times. I will try to answer them according to the way things are normally.

By JT_0000 |

Great place to get information about the park. The staff is very dedicated and always ready to help. They educated us about the park, informed us about the best places for Elk spotting, and helped us find great hikes! The free shuttle system is excellent and very convenient to use. Thank you very much.

By GVairo |

Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Gave us great tips on what to do and see while in town. Thank you,!

By llama |

Very nice staff was helpful and informative. Lots of information here to start your trip in Estes Park and RMNP.

By lynnbob89 |

We loved the free shuttle into the park. Make sure you have purchased your access pass online because you can not buy it at the center. The workers at the center were very helpful with their guidance.

By Debbi |

My husband and I dropped in to get some info on a scenic driving route and boy did we get it! The gentleman that helped us told us where to views were, where to find the Elk on THAT day (the move around quite a bit), where the best food was and quickest way to get to our next destination in Manitou Springs! So glad we stopped in!

By AnneChester |

Out of all the visitor centres I have ever visited in the US over the years I have never met with such indifference as we did from the member of staff we encountered here. Maybe we got her on an off day but she was really most unhelpful and unwelcoming. We did manage to pick up some information from the maps and leaflets on display though and the toilets were clean.

We were, however, very impressed with the free multi storey car park behind the building which came in very useful during our week's stay near Estes Park and that is the reason I have scored this place so highly.

By JAMES S M |

The visitor's center should be your first stop if you have never been to Estes Park. The personnel were very well informed of the area and RMNF.

By Mike F |

We were grateful for the free parking, free and paid Ev charging, restrooms and filtered water. It was beyond our expectations to see the elk walking around so close for observation. There are picnic tables, trolley rides, RMNP shuttle rides, as well as a farmer’s market.

By Steve G |

We stopped here our first day in town. One of the people working here helped us plan our hikes. The folks working here are very helpful. You can also park here and ride the Hiker shuttle into the Park. Great option, no parking problems at the park and the bus doesn't have to wait in traffic at the park entrance.

By JohnPatsi |

The welcome center informative Santa was very good for planning our trip to the Rockies. We learned a lot and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The drive was amazing it was even snow on the road.

Would definitely go again

By W1144MZmelissat |

Be sure to stop in for great information about the area. Then take the easy, short, and beautiful walk to downtown. So many places to shop and eat! We also used this as a place to hop the bus to RMNP.

By seterry3188 |

We stopped in to get some information about activities around Estes Park. The person at the desk was not forthcoming with any helpful information. It appeared that she really didn’t like her job very much.

By Dawn M |

The visitor center was a nice place, we went down there to see the elk and ended up walking through the center. Its so pretty around it with the river and all the walking bridges. The cops were there to make sure everyone was safe with all the elk around. I can't wait to go back.

By Ronald K |

The attends was very helpful, with about anything you wanted to know about the area. Ask about any place in town and one of them would know something about it or has been there.

By Fred N |

Stopped in for some ideas. The staff provided us with a map and explained several great options. The staff also gave us a heads up on where traffic was congested. A good place to visit prior to doing the park.

By RitaLyC |

Stopped in here and got a great map of Trail Ridge Rd. It was a typical gift shop. Service was safe and good.

By AnnieNBobby |

Our family has been vacationing in Estes Park for over 40 years. No matter what, this is always our first stop. They are so friendly, with plenty of brochures and information on the many different tours and more.

The setting is gorgeous!! We've seen Elk right outside the door on more than one occasion.

Go check it out and enjoy Estes Park!

By David V |

The ranger was busy on this unusually warm day. Many visitors stopping in to get the latest on road conditions, hiking/snowshoeing possibilities. The gift shop was well stocked with interesting inventory. The lady manning the gift shop was friendly and helped with answering some questions because the ranger was so busy.

By Barbara D |

The people who work in the visitors center are very helpful. they have a variety of brochures to help you plan your visit and the people are knowledgeable about the area and Rocky mountain National Park. You can get the shuttle into the park from the visitors center, that will take you into various locations of the park. you pay the park entrance fee but I think the shuttle is free. They have a small area of merchandise for sale, calendars, postcards things like that. There are restrooms and water fountains in the building. would recommend stopping here first.

By Kimberly B |

What a terrific treat - we were literally within 10 feet of three large elk, and saw two babies romping around in the brush. My kids were so excited! Just don't get too close; there are plenty of warning signs regarding the mamas protecting their babies!

By Petra A |

Dear readers,
The ladies guided us with a map of where to drive at the park and what to see. The center showed us what animals are present in the park and at which season.

By fotogmike |

Lots of parking in the multi-level structure behind the visitor's center. The free shuttle service into Rocky Mountain National Park is a great way to go.

By lotsagoldens |

You should go here before you spend your vacation time wandering around, wondering what to do. Very helpful volunteers know all about the hikes, the restaurants, etc.

By NancyGail |

I always stop at the visitors center to gather infomaiton. If you have time to drive Trail Ridge Road, be sure to stop at the Visitor's Center up at the Continental Divide. Great shopping and great hot chocolate.

By Travljunky2017 |

Other than a pit stop on the way elsewhere this is a waste of time. It’s traffic congested and there’s nothing there to do or see. You can find the same information on Google faster. This place is obsolete.

By lindahS4619PW |

I was expecting to see Elk when I visited Estes Park. Didn't see a single animal unless you count the chipmunk at our hotel. Guess the elk were on vacation as well or I wasn't looking in the right place. At the Visitors Center, there is free parking which was nice. The Center it's self was very busy on a Wednesday. The person at the desk was only able to show me hikes in the area, when all I wanted was a map of downtown Estes Park.

By Steven S |

Several maps are available- best is 12 x 18 two sided and printed in color. The place to go for print info and excellent guides who know the score on local attractions

By IAGOPHER |

We always stop by the visitor center when in Estes Park. The volunteers and employees are alway very helpful. They have wifi there too, so if you are needing a connection for anything.Parking there is convenient to downtown and also the parking ramp is close by. You can also start your walk around Lake Estes close to there or have a picnic lunch. One of the best visitors centers we've seen.

By LBH559 |

If there was a worse rating than 1 bubble, I’d give that rating. Upon arriving in Estes we saw the sign for Estes Park Visitors Center, nice new large building, we thought “great, we’ll stop here for some information on the area & the Park in general. As we exited the road there is a sign that says no RVs! By this point it’s too late... we’re off the road in our 28’ RV towing a Jeep. Can’t drive under the elevated building as the clearance is too low. But we can drive around the building along the river to the other side of the building. That exit is blocked! We had to unhitch the car & drive it out & then reverse the RV. Very poor design & worse signage. Definitely not welcoming. A fair number of visitors to the area drive oversized vehicles & RVs...

By Robben T |

Good selection of regional travel info. Central location appears to make this a constant hub of activity, one day was a car show and next day was a farmers market. Parking spot for shuttle buses.

By S R |

Got good info, on where to find ELK or MOOSE, etc. The attendants really know the area!! Lots of brochures, etc.

By Caleb P |

We were really excited to visit this center, but, unfortunately, it was closed. Honestly, we knew coming up here during this time was a gamble, so we weren’t totally surprised, but just a bit disappointed. Almost everywhere else is actually open, as long as you wear a mask.

Despite the setback, they still offer a good amount of info by the restrooms, and their call center is still available if there any questions. From what we could see, the lobby looked great, so next time we’re in Estes, we’ll be sure to stop by.

By jr2017H2O |

Make this your first stop when you get to Estes Park. While I have a lot of info with me on any trip, this place is big, clean, cool and has nice bathrooms. Park in the garage, shade from being inside doesn't heat up your car like parking outside if you are going to be there a while. We took the shuttle to downtown but walked back - and we are middle-aged and out of shape. Only downside - they like you to take the shuttle everywhere including going hiking in RMNP. We were highly encouraged to take it to the Bear Lake shuttle stop but decided we could get our own parking spot in RMNP. We were visiting right on Labor Day and hiking the following day so we knew there would be a lot less people But two years ago we were there at the same time and again encouraged to take shuttle. This would have just added a lot more time to our schedule. The staff is very kind though but we knew we would be up and ready to go - i.e. one of the first ones to be out and about. So taking our own vehicle and finding a place to park in RMNP so that we could get out on our schedule made the most sense.

By capitollover |

This is an excellent visitor's center right at the intersection of the 2 highways (36 & 34) in Estes Park. It is large, bright and airy, and packed with brochures, maps, etc. They have about 4 people to help you on weekdays, and there were additional people, including Park Rangers, on Friday due to the Irish Festival.

You may park in the parking garage and walk to downtown Estes Park via the lovely River Walk (.2 mi.). This is a good idea on a busy tourist day, since downtown parking is more limited.

Or, you may take one of the free shuttles into downtown Estes Park, and even into various stops inside Rocky Mountain Natl. Park. If you plan to drive into the park, especially to Bear Lake, you are well advised to take a shuttle since the parking lot there is full by 9:00 a.m.

Make this your first stop if this is your 1st visit to Estes Park.

By Armyafmedical |

My wife and I visited during Labor Day weekend. Never having been in the area before, we stopped here to get a "feel of the land." From the maps of the area, the highlights of the Rocky Mountain National Park, the free visitors shuttles, and the VERY knowledgeable staff, we were well-equipped to enjoy our two days in Estes Park. I highly commend the staff for their knowledge, helpfulness, and friendliness to two Southerners visiting the Rocky Mountains for the first time!! THANK YOU!!

By Siandra W |

Large Visitor Centre with lots of parking provided and plenty of information to be shared. Great place to see Elk out the back of the centre.

By Cody M |

Lots of free information on the city of Estes Park and also the Rocky Mountain National Park. There are a couple large maps to view the park area and all the brochures you could imagine for local attractions/restaurants and maps to the park. There are 3 different shuttles that run twice an hour (I believe) that are free and take tourists to various spots. We didn't utilize them, but we saw many people making use of the shuttles. There is a restroom in the visitors center, and a free parking garage behind the building (free parking is also available in the parking lot in front of the building).

By TCB |

Great place to get maps and information on where to go to get the most out of your visit!! Estes is just incredible!

By NancyH5936 |

Nice Visitor Center. They had lots of information for us to help play our stay in Estes Park. Thanks.

By sail_8 |

We went in for advise on wildlife and everyone was very helpful. Also the free map was useful as well as the Trail Ridge booklet

By Darris G |

Excellent , although there were no staff there was lots of information available , clean campus and well tended restrooms. This truly impressed us. Our Tour Guide was also prompt and attentive which was a plus as well.

By William V |

If you are not familiar with Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park start here do not waste time finding things out by yourself. Too many things too do to have wasted time.

By RachaelTooth |

The facility was nice and clean with public restrooms. Staff was friendly however not very knowledgeable or helpful.

By DDDSSS123 |

This is a nice shop but it was packed with tourist. No social distancing due to the crowd. You would be better off shopping for souvenirs in the town of Estes Park.

By 860SusanB860 |

This is a very nice facility just inside Estes Park with restrooms and helpful information. Make this your first stop and plan your day accordingly!

By The Bearded B |

We had an amazing time in Estes Park. The people are amazing, the food is, great, and the views - breathtaking.

By MichaelLong1963 |

This is a good place to start any visit to Estes Park. The building looks new and it's one of the nicest visitor centers I've been in especially for a small town like Estes Park. A river runs next to it and there is plenty of parking but it can get crowded because they offer nice clean bathrooms and plenty of brochures & visitor magazines.

The employees inside will answer your questions and are very friendly. If visiting this area I would recommend stopping here so you get a good idea what to see. You could miss something by not visiting here. You might even see some wild life.

By travellingjacko |

Been here a number of times it’s a brilliant spot to look at available accommodation and eateries in Estes Park. It’s also a good spot to end a walk around Lake Estes refilling bottled and even catching a bus. Friendly staff and great souvenirs.

By Linda B |

This is a nice visitor;s center, right beside the lake and as you walk at the lake you can see elk. Very scenic.

By Forfeitboy |

Really informative Rangers and staff. Good information materials and clean facilities. Clean facilities.

By Wendy S |

This visitor center was one of the best we have visited. Well informed staff.
There was even the menu's of local restaurants which is helpful if you are vegetarian or vegan. Estes proximity to the Rocky Mountain National Park makes this a destination for many foreign visitors and they have the resources to handle the
challenges.

By Laurie B |

Stopped here on way to our rental. Tons of brochures available on everything you can think of. People behind the desk were extremely helpful too.

By Amy39094 |

The visitor center is great. They have lots of information about the area that you can take with you. The staff are very informed and helpful. This is a must to visit before you check out the area.

By jim r |

The park service, here in Estes Park is trying to close the park, only a few cars a day are allowed in the park.. No US currency is allowed in the park or visitors service or purchase

By kmax5406 |

The Estes Park Visitor Center is a great place to catch the shuttle into Rocky Mountain National Park. You can buy your park passes online (still $25.00 per day for your "carload" of people, or $35.00 for a 7 day pass). Screenshot your receipt, then show that to the shuttle attendant before boarding the bus. The shuttle runs hourly from 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. every 30 minutes from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and hourly 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This shuttle takes you to the Park and Ride in RMNP, off of Bear Lake Road. From there you transfer to other shuttles to take you to the most popular parts of the park, which usually fill up fast, so they close the parking lots to individual cars. You can also catch Estes Park Buses and Trolleys here to take you around town and to specific sections for lodging. They show the various bus routes on their website. Very helpful and friendly!

By Minnie-sodas |

Lots of pamphlets. Information available about local attractions, hotels, restaurants and nature. Comfortable sitting area.

It's at one end of the lovely riverwalk area behind the shops along Elkhorn. Needs more pikas. Good place to stop when you first arrive.

By Jeannette C |

We walked in and just picked up pamphlets. They had several to choose from. Activities, dining, tours, lodging.
Nice facility

By Miko |

Park information from people who know the park inside out!! These guys know what they are talking about for the experienced or the curious.

By ArielleQ |

Estes Park is truly great. You’re surrounded by nature and the mountains and can hang out on the lake, go shopping, enjoy the amazing food, see wildlife and go hiking around the area. Word of warning, they don’t allow dogs and most of the trails.

By Brettson |

The Visitor Center as you come into Estes Park from Highway 36 is conveniently located with lots of parking. The staff was very helpful in making recommendations about what to see in town and Rocky Mountain National Park. The Visitor Center should be your first stop.

By stijntailly |

I had read about this place in my Lonely Planet guide to Colorado, I think. Or I might have read about it elsewhere, but anyway, if your really want the easiest place to spot elk in the wild, come here. Or at least to the neighboring golf course. We were pretty happy we had spotted elk in one of the meadows of Rocky Mountain National Park, but decided to give the golf course a try anyhow. Glad we did. The golf course is fenced off by a open wooden fence. Along with dozens of other spectators, we witnessed a bull bugle at another bull in the distance, quite the spectacle actually. There was an entire harem too. And the people were probably just about a couple dozen feet removed. Most people understood to keep their distance, each time stepping away when the bull approached, but one lady managed to get inbetween a cow that had jumped over the fence and the rest of the harem. I guess some people will never get it. Regardless, great experience. The elk did seem quite at home in downtown Estes Park as we saw another bull casually cross a highway.

By Johomofro |

Great place! The restrooms are very clean. People are very nice. Great photos on the wall. Can utilize the shuttle service easily.

By sbsfl |

Well maintained visitors center before you enter Rocky Mountain National Park coming from Estes Park. There is a huge topographical map of the entire park for an overview, there is a 20-minute film in a very comfortable theater you can view, and the park rangers can give you all the information you need for an enjoyable visit or camping trip up in the magnificent Rockies. Plenty of parking is available. Learned a lot.

By DrCLG |

We visited the Visitor Center each time we walked from our lodge to town because it was immaculately clean and the restrooms were also. Well-stocked with literature and re-stocked during the day.

By Geoffrey W |

Very helpful staff here mainly volunteers. The car parks can get full early. We were here at the end of August & September and on both occasions the Bear Lake car park was full. In August we were told the park & ride car park was also full so we hiked the Two Owls & Lake Gem instead without having to drive into the park to find out

By Brandy G |

This is a very nice visitor center with lots of information inside. The elk love to visit this place each morning very early.

By Gat |

This is a great place to stop and get information. They have a junior ranger program for kids so stop here first and pick up the age based activity book. Then have fun in the park exploring and filling it out. As you leave, stop at the visitor center and show the completed book to a ranger. The kids then get sworn in and receive a fun Junior Ranger badge. Very cool and special for the kids.

By Karen R |

I was looking for the elk. And we found it! Along side of the road, near another, I saw the elk....beautiful; the elk was resting! I was about 8 feet from the elk--no problem--he just looks around us! I also saw the young buck...not quite--he was watching us!

By JohnW |

We had lunch at a picnic table outside of the visitor center. There are places across the street to pick up a pizza, sandwich and your favorite coffee. Te riverwalk begins outside the visitor center where you can make music on the wind-chime device then stroll the walking path. We spent almost an hour watching the local elk herd just down the path. It got exciting when a golfer tried to play through...

By gabriel411 |

Get all the info on tours etc. In one stop. Easy access and available parking. Tours, dining suggestions.

By Jonah L |

If you are going to Rocky Mountain National Park, I would highly recommend parking here and take the shuttle from here. There is plenty of parking. I would suggest parking at the garage where there is shade. There are bathrooms, place to fill up your water bottles, and free computers with internet for you to use. The staff is also very friendly.
I would take the shuttle from here as it's the first stop and you can easily find a seat. If you are traveling in a large group, I would highly recommend taking the shuttle here too as any size group (there were 9 of us in the group) counts as ONE car in terms of purchasing the pass to go into the park! It's $25 for 1 day or $35 for a 7 day pass. So for 9 of us going there for 3 days it only cost us $35! Quite a bargain. Just beware that the shuttles leave promptly on the hour or half-hour depending on the time of day. I think that at or after 9am one starts leaving every half an hour but before that it's every hour.

By coachjfaulk |

I highly recommend not wasting your time going to this Visitor Center. I cannot explain how excited we were to get to our Hotel and find out the visitor center was within walking distance. Our expectation and excitement were quickly diminished upon walking in to the Estes Park Visitor Center and speaking with an employee that was not very passionate in assisting first time visitors to the area. I understand this is not a visitor center leading into Rocky Mountain National Park however you are on the doorstep of the park. You should be willing to accept that travelers come to Estes Park and may not understand the difference. Your lack of compassion and desire to understand this acceptable fact left us feeling defeated. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time here or even get excited about visiting. Go to one of the park entrance visitor centers and you will not be disappointed. They have employees that actually care about helping people enjoy the nature and beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park.

By Shereen |

Estes Park was magical ❤️ I had such an amazing time in Estes park. They views and trails were magnificent. I left and can’t wait to go back in February.

By beachbum329 |

Definitely stop here. It's a great place to get information and it's also a great place to see the elk. They wander around right across the creek from the visitor center

By fishonMi |

The whole experience is awesome. The visitor center is across the street from the grocery store, subway and McDonalds. It is in the downtown area. So much info in the center, free parking and a nice walk to the golf course to view the elk. This only happens in the late summer, fall of the year. Otherwise you can see the elk in the Rocky National Park.

By Wheels1125 |

We stopped here to find out where we could hike some trails. They have a nice park and lake around behind the center. The lady behind the desk was very helpful and circled some hikes on a free map. They had all sorts of printed sheets advising where to shop, eat, and stay. Everything was free.
Also they had a very nice, new parking garage that was free! We walked around a paved trail around the lake and were quite surprised to see a elk herd that had moved onto a nearby golf course. Also lots of geese and other birds. Definitely worth a stop here when you first come into town.

By Nama5 |

The entry drive to park is spectacular with huge stone walls, rapids. The prior heavy flood damage is evident in the new construction. The town is pretty busy, high priced, hohum. The scenic drives are high, no guardrail. Be prepared for no turn around, gravel, sheer drop offs, high winds. And, people who park in the switchback curves. They should be TICKETED! It makes for an interesting turn with a regular size vehicle. The return drive into Estes is paved, intermittent rails, steep, more intense than the gravel drive. Sections are like driving a razor back. We had high winds but sunshine.

By carlbeierjd |

Re-entering the park after a meal in Estes Park, my stop at the visitor center led me directy to a Rocky Mountain Nat. Park campground off hte most beaten path and helped me pick my next day hike.

By Suzette D |

We stopped in to get info. before heading up TrailRidge Rd and Rocky Mountain National Park, there is lots of free information about the area plus lots of books and maps to buy! The staff at the information desk was so helpful with everything we needed to have a great day in the area!!

By erikaAkron_Ohio |

I’ve been to a few national parks, and I have to say this one is fairly helpful. The day I stopped in, there wasn’t a park ranger inside, like there are at other national parks. There are plenty of brochures for different guides and tour groups. And yes, the people working the desk may not know much about which tour offers specific services, but what they do know is the park itself. The best trails. The best time of day to get there. And they can explain the shuttle system for the park. There are vending machines outside. Starbucks across the street. And clean bathrooms! Parking fills up pretty quickly, but there’s a parking deck close by. There’s also plenty of shaded seating outside. It’s definitely worth the stop to talk to the volunteers. It’s also a great way to meet other people who have already been in the park. So talk to friendly looking strangers for their suggestions on neighboring towns and the sites.

By DianaReiter |

Large amount of information on things to do, and places to see. staff is very helpful. Info includes surrounding area's.

By Steve F |

Glad we stopped here to get a map of Rocky Mountain National Park as the Park Service had none when we arrived at the park. Staff was very helpful and they have lots of local information.

For all things Estes Park a trip to the visitor center is a must. The workers there are so helpful and friendly!

By KLeigh78402 |

The staff at the Visitor Center are very nice and knowledgeable. There are maps and brochures of all things to do in Estes. There are restrooms available as well as places to sit and relax by the river. It is usually very crowded, so you may need to wait to speak to a volunteer at the desk.

Covered Parking garage is Free which comes in handy with paid parking in most of the downtown area and it's an easy walk to Town with Elk on the grounds of the golf course next door and nice sitting areas outside to rest up from your walks around Town. Menus for most of the Restaurants in Town and tons of Things to Do brochures free for the taking. Great place to stop in for area info before you start your visit in Estes.

To experience these wild animals is just something spectacular, especially if you have never had the opportunity. Please remember to keep your distance and respect them.

By Sallie D |

We went during the off season, and everything was clean and well maintained. There were a lot of pamphlets for things to do in the area. We will be coming back when it's warmer and more things are open.

By dirtdiggergal |

The visitor center is at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and has all the help you could need to have a perfect visit. It is well laid out and well stocked with printed material and the bookstore has additional information to purchase.

By Margot |

My husband, Dad, and I all liked the Estes Park Visitors Center. The staff there are friendly and helpful. The Center is clean and conveniently located. There is plenty of free parking so that you can explore from the safety of their location.

By mary b |

It was easy to park and take in the sights of the lake and the mountains along with the elk that were grazing.

By Tim |

This is a great place to start your Estes Park visit. The staff are friendly and there is plenty of material to help you plan your activities. It's also a great place to start the Estes Park River Walk!

By vcedell |

Arrived at the visitor center around 10:00 and was able to get parking. Visitor center had clean bathrooms and friendly staff. Good location at the beginning of the river walk.

By Todd T |

Second visit. Now has a much needed Parking Ramp. Walked the trail by Golf Course looking at wildlife. Main building is busy and clean.

By Gary S |

I always stop at the visitor center in a new destination for quick info on where to stay, where to eat, and what to do.

Many times that includes a quick paid tour of the area after which I can visit on my own.

By dj600 |

This is a nice visitors center to check out. The staff are very friendly & helpful. Variety of information to help ones choose what they would like to do. It also sits right beside the creek. Lots of outside seating available to just enjoy the view.

By Julia D |

Lots of information on activities, hotels, and food options. They have a large index of menus to look through...but in COVID times some of the restaurants were closing earlier than stated so may need to verify times with the actual restaurant. Good resource for someone that hasn't been to the area before.

By Ale201362 |

Any kind of information that you might be looking for you'll find it here. It has maps and a small shop full of interesting things. The attendants are very friendly and eager to give out information. They even have a short movie that explains life at the park!

By D T |

A lot of printed brochures, clean rest rooms and a knowledgeable staff is all one could want when visiting Estes Park. It also has more than enough parking and is the central Estes transit terminal.

By Adventurer187339 |

Stopped by early morning and seen a large elk heard with 3 males and a harem of females. The elk were traveling right in the middle of the road and doing their bugling they do during the rut.

By Elsi D |

It seems the whole world is attempting to drive through Estes Park to get to Rocky Mountain National Park. In response, Estes Park has built an enormous Visitor Center which serves primarily as a park-and-ride, plus a central place for the wonderful free shuttle system! Nice people staffing the info desk, clean and friendly atmosphere. Great idea!

By Passenger717400 |

Very professional and informative staff, clean restrooms, a must stop if your going to the park. Excellent gift shop with a wide selection of souvenirs. Actually saw lot of wildlife, including a large male Elk right near here.

By Suzanne I |

The visitor center was a great place to start our afternoon of activities in the Estes Park area. Though very busy at the time of our visit, the building was clean, and the staff was very helpful with local maps, directions, and recommendations. A good starting point for your visit.

By Bettybabe |

Bob took his time and mapped out our sightseeing itinerary for 2 days. He was spot on with his suggestions and made our trip perfect. I think he was a volunteer but they should pay him

By Kelly G |

Stopped at travel center to get our stamp in Passport book and ended up purchasing some souvenirs at the location. Good prices on the souvenirs!

By James Parker M |

No improvement needed here. Parking is easy and convenient. The staff is very helpful and the center itself is very pretty and we'll appointmented.

We loved the hike to Cub Lake, and it was an extra special treat to spot a bear!!!

It is 2.3 miles out to the lake, so it is 4.6 miles total.

There was also a moose in the pond eating and hanging out with her little one.

Along the way we also saw a bunny rabbit, two grouse, a small snake on the trail, and there were bones from an elk that got attacked, but that is nature for you.

Take water and food so you can stop at the lake and have a nice picnic before turning around and heading back

Of all of the hikes we did in Estes Park, we found this one to be the most fun because of all the animals we saw.

We also saw two groups of Elk and they were busy making their bugle calls and playing in the water.

By n0uzn |

This is a large visitor center with information about everything in the area of Estes Park. Not too much to expand upon but again it is a great place to start your knowledge base about the area.

By MandyJane |

Lovely town, clean place to stop for info and rest rooms. Parking is nearby. Restaurants are nearby. All of the shops are close too

By Lawonridge |

On the plus side - brand new multi-level FREE garage that you can park in all day; FREE shuttle service to the RMNP Park and Ride lot, where you can pick up intra-park shuttles to the hiking trail heads; access to maps, brochures, etc; 1/3 of the 4 mile bikeway around the lake is fairly pretty for a walk or bike ride
On the Minus Side - 2/3 of the 4 mile bikeway is UGLY - along busy Rt 36, the power plant, sewage treatment plant, etc. Staff at the Visitor Center do not warn you about this at all. Very disappointing; Staff also did not seem to have much information when asked questions - happy just to hand out maps.

By Dick P |

We found the volunteers at the help desk to be informative and helpful. There are nice, clean restrooms available and lots of parking. Other than that, there isn't much at the Visitor Center. The hours are pretty limited (9-5 when we were there).

By JuneNY |

This is a good place to start your visit to Estes Park. They have brochures about everything available in Estes Park. We were given a good recommendation for a place to eat. Clean restrooms are always a bonus while travelling.

By LeawoodCouple |

Excellent place to start your exploration of the Estes Park area. Tons of information and maps that will help orient you. The extra bonus is the adjacent walk around Lake Estes. We saw numerous elk during our visit and we assume the the lake area (and flowing streams) has good fishing because there were a good number of people fly fishing.

By Sandra H |

The rangers here are able to assist you with questions you may have about the Park and the surrounding areas. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

By Donna G |

Stopped to get information on the area. Very friendly and helpful. Love the area. Rockies in view. Great.

By Surya J |

Staff here was so friendly, they took time to answer all questions and provided great suggestions to make the best use of time to cover all nearby attractions.
The visitor center is right on the lake, and walking distance from the 'downtown'. Lot of parking space, the shuttles for RMNP also start from here.

By rthornt71 |

Stop is for a map of the town. Lady helped direct us to our hotel and gave us great locations for t-shirt shops. Also informed us where good places to sit and watch the fireworks for the Fourth of July were. Also told us about the neat walkway tunnel that takes you to the riverwalk behind the shops and restaurants.

By elizabethbP2500JS |

Great place to start your visit to Estes Park. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped us plan our first day in the National Park, providing us with a map, highlighted routes, and hiking suggestions. The center also has a display of enlarged menus from local restaurants which was very helpful in our planning. Clean bathrooms!!! Staff very knowledgeable and friendly.

By Barbara D |

Recommend visiting here first, if you are going to go to Rocky Mountain National Park . They have a lot of information about the area and you can get the shuttle into the park from here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a free parking garage close to the building .

By paws0810 |

Stopped here today after tooling around Boulder and other various areas. We will stop back here tomorrow the visitor center had a lot of information that we will gather up before we continue on to Rocky Mountain national Park

By Fredelcamino |

Stopped here on the way to the Rocky Mountain Park. Used the clean restroom facilities and bought a couple of souveniors to take back home. Gorgeous ride through the mountains to get here. Scenery was like WOW!

By CaptnGphs |

Nice Visitors Center with good local information. Next door is a golf course that "hosts" a herd of elk - good for cellphone photos (but don't get too close - respect their wildness).

By kevin w |

what a great place to go,it was funny i told my wife since i been there before on my harley that there's a corner in the road going up and there's a big red sign saying that the weather is going to chage big time. i told her to bring a rain suit and warm cloths, she said yeah right. well when we got there on the curve the weather went to 75 to 34 and snow up on the top.of course she had to hit me with a snow ball up up there at the vistors center. but everyone needs to see the view up there, it heaven

By Sandra L |

We stopped in to check this out. There was information pamphlets available covering food, activities, lodging etc. The gentleman at the service desk was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about the area. The displays were excellent also. A must stop for anyone new to the area.

By Kip F |

I stopped in to chat and get some info on weather and such, and the two women there were very helpful and knowledgeable. Clean restrooms, lots of pamphlets, info brochures, worth visiting.

By Diana O |

This visitor center was one of the nicest I have ever visited. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were brochures on all the surrounding points of interest. There was a nice seating area. The bathrooms were super clean. There was plenty of parking and they were open late which I was surprised about. Most visitor centers close around 5.Outside the door was hummingbird feeders and there were hummingbirds always flying around.

By LewisB78 |

We were looking for a place to eat our lunch and this visitor center has nice areas with picnic tables along the river. Then we spent some time in the center learning about all the great things to do in Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park, this is a must visit.

By LouieLady |

Beautiful informative visitor center conveniently located, with knowledgeable employees to help make your visit to Estes Park as good as you want it to be. Parking is plentiful and it is in scenic area and you can walk out a follow the hummingbirds on the River Walk path just outside the visitor center.

By Christine W |

The staff spent time to answer our questions. Great place to catch the local shuttle bus. We picked up some pamphlets to peruse later.

By Dean S |

Stopped in here and the lady was extremely helpful in showing us how to get around and how to best manage our time. The maps provided were much appreciated as we soon found out the town is a bit confusing to get around in. She also suggested restaurants at our request. Smoking Dave's was great but The Other Side was not good at all (see separate reviews). This is a great place to start a visit.

By Tony W |

An informative and educational exhibit of the park and it's genisis. Lots of interactive displays and a stunning view over the park. The centre has a friendly staff and an elevator for wheelchairs or disabled.

By Thomas C |

Listen to their staff- Take their advice and listen to the shuttle drivers and park staff as well- They have been there for years and we only took their advice on where to go; where to eat; what to hike; and what sites to see-

By TeriPugh |

This visitors center is right in downtown Estes Park. Lots of parking and right outside is their free shuttle service. A veterans memorial right outside. Very nicely done. Inside you can pick up maps and get a general idea of the area. The folks were very helpful but we didn’t encounter any Park rangers. Just folks with a lot of knowledge about the area. The shuttle service in downtown Estes Park is free and terrific. The Main Street gets very crowded.

By duffer47 |

Always a main hub for us. Several staff always present to answer questions. Tons of literature there too and the restrooms are immaculate. Great place to hit the river walk and we had a huge bull elk and his harem come right into our area

By CaribbeanPrincess08 |

It was a beautiful building w/restrooms and people to offer answers. Although I felt not knowing the area they should engage more to offer ideas. Very lovely people though.

By Lisa60653 |

We stopped here primarily for the restrooms but we were really happy we with the friendly staff. The had advise for visiting the RMNP and the surrounding area. Everyone was friendly and even though they probably answer the same questions a hundred times a day, everyday, they made us feel like it was the first time.

By brad1133 |

Lots of parking. Must see for taking pictures of the numerous elk in a large fenced off field/park. Lots of information inside and helpful staff

By Vinman132 |

We stopped to use the bathrooms and were impressed how clean they were. They had a desk with workers willing to answer any questions you may have. They also had literature to read about the park and also menus of local restaurants . there was also plenty of parking.

By Greg G |

Staff is super helpful, and this will give you a more in depth look at the town. And pick up a map while your there.
