Stopped in on Tues, the day after Labor Day, to buy some wine and did not have the time to stay for a tasting. At first there was no one to be found and then the blonde cashier arrived and once we told her we didn't have time for a tasting we just stopped in to purchase wine she became very aloof and a bit rude. She said well ask me if you have questions and then disappeared. Quite strange. She then alter returned and has this arrogant, snobbish attitude about her. We purchased 4 bottles of wine and as we drove away both commented that we doubted we would return as her snobbish attitude was a real disappointment and kinda ruined the atmosphere and reason of going there. Quite a snob. The wine was very good but there are so many wineries in the area that actually welcome and treat you well, we probably will not return to be looked down upon by the wine snob. Disappointing visit but good wine.

We finally followed the advice of many friends and visited Fabbioli Cellars on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We went with folks who are members of the Wine Club at Fabbioli. Club members receive 6 complimentary wine tastings per quarter and our hosts graciously treated us. Our tasting was presented by Lori. She was knowledgeable, informative and friendly. The food pairings truly added to the experience. Whoever cuts those tiny pieces so artfully, is a truly talented. One of our group has Celiac disease and appreciated the offering of gluten free food pairings. The wines were excellent. While I'm not usually a fan of sweet wines, the final sweet wine paired with dark chocolate made me a fan. I enjoyed the Chardonnay wine as well as the zin. The $15.00 tasting fee is well worth the money. This winery in a beautiful setting is not to be missed.

Do not pass this winery. Best wine in the area. We are very picky. He certainly knows how to make wine

Such a great winery. When you walk in they greet you and tell you the spill of how it works. It's a decent size inside. When we arrived, the cattle came with us. All of a sudden when they open 20 some people ran in with us.

They have a really great way to try wine. They had 3-4 different stations set up. Each station had a different pairing of wine with different food items. For example, one area had wine pairings on girl scout cookies. It was $10 per person in each section. They did a wonderful idea and provided me an idea on a winery event that I'm involved with at the University where I work.

They provided a dry white and worked the way to a dessert wine. You look at the taste, then indulge yourself with a treat, and then more wine. It was the perfect method. Our hostess was very good at her job.

Recommend checking this place out. We purchased some good wine.

My partner and I went for a tasting and we loved it! We also purchased the goat cheese platter to sit outside and enjoy, which was so good! We purchased a bottle to enjoy on site and one to go because we enjoyed it so much! We will definitely be going back soon!

As we walked up to this winery, it looked very appealing. Our tasting expeerience was less than satisfying. The tasting fee was high and they rushed us through the tasting. Any information we sought or questions we asked seemed unwelcome.

They make good wine, but need to provide a better tasting experieince. I imagine if you bought a bottle of wine and sat outside, you would be content, however, you need to become familiar with the wines first. For those less curous, it may work.

Visited here on Sunday with my daughter and did the wine tasting paired with small bites. I think there were 7 wines, and 6 of them were paired with a small bite. It was interesting to see how the food changed the flavor of the wine. Unfortunately, it was quite rushed. It maybe took 12 minutes from first sip, to "move on, you're done". It was $16 pp for the tasting, and you truly only get a sip of each wine. After the tasting, we bought a flight of 4 wines, and sat out on the patio overlooking the vineyards. Will be beautiful when the fruit is on vine! You can buy wine flights and there are several options- all white, all reds, or you pick 4. If we go back, that's what we will do again as you get a nice pour with the flights. Also, they have food there for purchase and it looked good. I liked the Barbera ($35/bottle) and my daughter liked the Petit Manseng ($26/bottle). We both liked the Raspberry Merlot but it was $24 for a 35 ml bottle, so didn't purchase. All of the wines seemed a little pricey. Staff was friendly. Like several others we visited this weekend, the winery is located on a dirt road.

My family has been visiting Fabbioli Cellars ever since we were given a gift of their Raspberry Merlot over 12 years ago.
The quality of the wine keeps us buying more, and the awesome staff and crew keep us coming in for tastings and outings.
I recommend Fabbioli for any trip out to Virginia Wine Country!

I frequent Fabbioli often. The wines are very good! The tasting paired with a small bite are fantastic! This is a def must if you are in Loudoun county wine tasting. The new wine tasting room is super cute and roomy.

Before Christmas I went with my mother for the wine and food pairings with cookies. We had a wonderful tasting the staff were kind and knowledgeable. We bought some wine for gifts and my mom got me a membership for a gift.

Sadly my birthday on the 30th of December my husband and i had a bad experience. We arrived mid way through the tasting day. The cashier seemed tired, over it, and unhappy to have guests. We are easygoing and not demanding. We seemed unwelcomed. We also had a lack luster tasting. We get it after the holiday blahs and it was cold and busy but we had such and poor experience we cancelled our pending membership. Bummed we thought we found our wine haven in VA. Wines are good but service was just not pleasant in late December 2017.

We visited Fabbioli Cellars the other weekend. Very busy, very loud. Our server, Toni, was excellent. The tasting is limited to what they are serving and it is paired with food. (just a bite). It was $10 for 6 wines, 5 foods. The food was excellent and very well thought out. The wines were about half sweet and half dry. I don't like sweet, so I do wish we could pick our own wines. You don't get to try a bunch of their wines, and I hate to buy without tasting, but I did end up buying 4 bottles. 3 were ones I hadn't tried. If you truly want to enjoy, go upstairs, it is MUCH quieter. I would recommend the wines, the drier were very nice. Definitely worth returning to. As far the manager, well, she was very nice with us and gave us a recipe of one of the food items. Everyone we encountered that worked there was very nice.

Fabbioli Cellers is a beautiful winery, inside and outside. They have a great variety of wines to try during their tastings and their tastings also include a small food pairing with every wine. The food was very tasty and they are very careful about food allergies, I am allergic to shellfish, which is commonly paired with wine so I was happy that I didn't have to miss out on any of the tastings due to my allergy. All of the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

My husband and I live in DC and are frequent visitors to the VA wineries. I am ashamed to say that this weekend was the first time we made Fabbioli Cellars a stop on our tour. The tasting room is large and has several spots to set up which was nice because we were with a small group and were able to have a little space all to ourselves. There is also a glassed in porch area for busy days and outdoor seating with a firepit. The tasting fee of $10 covers the wine and your choice of a meat / cheese pairing or a chocolate pairing.... a fabulous deal! We got one of each to get the full experience. The employee that led our tasting was knowledgeable and friendly and knew so much about each of their wines. We made four stops this day and Fabbioli was by far our favorite and the only place where we purchased wine. We will return.

This winery had a great ambiance and a wonderful woman pouring the wine. There was a plate of small bites served, which paired with the wines. There is a whimsical spirit here - a couple of their ciders have a picture of the winery cat on the label, and right now they're having a Game of Thrones theme. Very fun place, with interesting wines.

Traditionally I have been visiting Fabbioli Cellars on Saturday morning first thing, but I think Sunday may be the time to go as it was significantly less crowded. There were no cars in the lot when my friend and I arrived at 11:30, save a oversized van in the bus lot. The van group took up one whole tasting bar inside that there was a couple at the third bar. We paid for our tastings and were shown to the second bar in. Our server was knowledgeable and very friendly, guiding my friend through the wines as it was her first visit. The tasting bites were thanksgiving themed and were well paired with the wines. My friend loved the place and I will continue to bring friends and families here as it is the best winery in Northern VA.

After sampling their collaborative pear brandy at Catoctin Creek Distillery and hearing endless praises about the great Doug Fabbioli and his contributions to the VA wine scene, I had been bugging my man friend about taking a trip to support another winery. While we were in the neighborhood yesterday afternoon, we did just that and hopped on over to check out Fabbioli Cellars.

Fabbioli Cellars is located on the first floor of his house but you would never really know it because it's set up so nicely with patio furniture and picnic areas surrounding the house outside and inside, there's a check-in register, wines and products set up for retail while the tasting rooms, kitchen and bathrooms are in the back. We walked in and were immediately greeted and told how they ran their tastings. Check in at the register, show id and pay $15pp for tasting and notify the staff of any food allergies/restrictions. No problems here but it's considerate for them to offer this option/personalization. Now for $15 per person, you get to taste 7 Fabbioli wines paired with 7 gourmet bites. Bites are made in house and use ingredients grown on premises or source local vendors. Fabbioli conducts their tastings very differently than surrounding wineries: They round you up and sit you at a table of 4-6 people and you are given your own wine tasting and food pairing led by your own wine educator. This results in a very special wine tasting experience where you can "sip, taste, sip". Sip the wine to see how it tastes on your palate. Take a few bites of the food and sip again to see how the food interacts with the wine and changes on your palate. I love this! I love this kind of tasting because it's great to see how you can pair the wine with food at home. Our tasting guide was Eric and not only was he very personable, but he gave great explanations of the wine, explained what to expect on our palate, answered any and all questions we had about the winery and kept the tasting interactive and kept conversation going smoothly. Great job, Eric!

First up for the wine + food pairing...Sip, taste, sip!
Una Pera + dried apricot....dry and crisp pear white wine
Something White + garlic cheddar sliver on club cracker...crisp stainless steel white
Chambourcin + prosciutto wrapped asparagus...delicious and versatile wine that would go well with many foods and can be enjoyed at room temp or chilled.
Tres Sorelle (blend of merlot, cabernet savignon, petit verdot) + garlic cheese on cracker...great bold, dry red wine- a tribute to his wife and her sisters, this is the kind of wine that Fabbioli is famed for.
Tannat (governor's cup winner)+ Sopressata salami with spicy plum chutney...dry, bold and a hint of spice paired perfectly
Raspberry Merlot + Chocolate truffle...sweet and delicious and chocolate uh hello! Bring home a bottle and add to your brownies or chocolate cake recipes and then invite me over!
Rosa Nera (black raspberry port style wine) + lavendar cheesecake...loved this port style wine that was not too sweet and notes of black raspberries was quite delish

After our tasting, we could not help but check out the wine goods for purchase. Picked me up a nice "wine, how classy people get wasted" sign for my wine collection at home (don't judge me!) and bought the Chambourcin, Tres Sorelle, Rose Nera and Paco Rojo (not tasted but told it would be perfect to pair with our spicy foods). Fabbioli is a fantastic place to take in a wine and food pairing or grab a bottle of wine and take in the scenery. Great experience, wines, environment and staff. Wines and pairings change every month so always something new and different. We'll be back!

The wine: excellent selection. Great for either white or red drinkers. The food bite pairing separates this place from others.

The Service: polite, friendly, warm, courteous. Overall a really great experience.

The Food: make sure to order the food plate with your glass of wine. Ask for the "charcuterie".

Seating: it is primarily outdoor seating but with a choice of siting in the sun or shade. A rustic, yet modern ambiance.

I would highly recommend a visit.

This was the first of 3 wineries we visited in the Leesburg area. Love the pairings with each sample of wine. Really enjoyed the pear wine it was refreshing and crisp.

We had our engagement pics taken here 3 years ago and decided we were way over due for another visit. We went in for our tasting, paid and waited for our seat. Once it started, the lady giving the tasting showed just how knowledgeable she is and how much she loves what she does. She talked with us as we went along and described each little nuance, along with answering my wife's questions without hesitation. Once done, we decided to each have a wine flight and sit outside and enjoy the view. Then, we loved the wines so much, we joined the club, and my wife picked up some ciders (she doesn't like ciders, but these changed her mind), and a bottle of tannat wine. We can't wait to go back to check out the amazing selection of other wines on their wall o' wines!!

We had a nice time here. The tasting was on the pricey side, but it did come with some tasty tidbits. The wines were interesting, and we brought home a couple of bottles. They also have several friendly cats who we enjoyed spending some time with.

The property is very nice as well. I could definitely see coming back and buying a nice bottle of wine and enjoying it on the property.

By tfizzle |

Just didn't like the wine. I had the red flight and I didn't finish them, which is surprising for me. the quality of the wine was just not there. People were really nice. The food pairings were hawaiian with some fruity wines work but that was not what I was interested in. I think some of the others in area make more serious wine. That said, I can see why people like it.

By MMincemoyer |

This winery charged double (almost triple) what all the other wineries in the area charge. They justify it by serving the smallest testing pours I've EVER experienced with little bites of food. WHile that's great in concept, it's a joke when the presenter is saying "Have a taste before the matched food and then the rest with the food." Not sure where the 2nd sip was supposed to come from.

After the tasting, our group stayed to enjoy a bottle in their facilities. It wasn't hard to detect the eye rolling and snide comments made by the staff about some of the visitors. I would not recommend this winery, since there are SO many more around with more friendly staff and a more realistic price to value.

By SPKinVA |

We did the wine and food pairing for $15. Wine pours were small. It's an extra $5 if you want to take home a souvenir glass. Staff was friendly and greeted us as we entered. We enjoyed the ports. We bought a bottle and some truffles.

We're members of several area wine clubs and this is the best of all of them and of the other area wineries we've tried. The Cab Franc is the best, as expected for a northern Virginia winery - the 2009 and 2010 Reserve are worth the cost for any special occasions. Nice variety of other reds they have experimented with - all respectable. They have started into the whites and their "Something White" Gewürztraminer is light and excellent. We have family members who love the fruit wines - yes, respectable fruit/dessert wines. The raspberry merlot is a favorite we send my mother in law (I like er and she deserves a nice treat like this). The pear wine, originally concocted from the one Asian pear tree on the property is another favorite for other family members.

Tasting is a treat here, especially if you get Dennis; I think he is related to Bacchus - knowledgeable, always spirited, and with some good stories about the wines. Fabbioli does it right - they've kept the business small and friendly, generous pours, and small thoughtful food partnering - see the photo. Good wines can be accentuated with a savory tidbit like the watermelon ball (Rosa Luna), goat cheese on a cracker (Something White), sharp cheddar wrapped in prosciutto (Chambourcin), mild Amish cheddar (Cab Franc), small piece of salami (Cab Franc Reserve), and then crackers with some of the others, dark chocolate with the Raspberry Merlot (I could learn to love this combination!). Periodically, Fabbioli does a vertical tasting (several years of the same blend of grapes) - those are interesting special events too.

This is the place for novices and regulars!

I decided to be a bit adventurous and go for a wine tasting solo. As Fabbioli Cellars is rated the highest in Leesburg on Trip Advisor that is where I headed. It is down this long unpaved road where several other wineries are located. The tasting costs 15 USD and allows you to taste a couple sips of 7 different wines, 6 or which are paired with little food bites. The wines were all very god and the food pairings brought out different tastes in the food and the wine. The whole tasting took about 20 minutes and the wines are priced over a nice range. I ended up with two bottles which I am looking forward to.

This is certainly not going to be your ordinary tasting. They take great care in there pairings and explanations. A wonderful trip for all wine lovers, old and new.

The blonde cashier needs to work on her social skills a bit. She was the only negative part of the day, but that was such a minor aspect. As the title suggests, this is a must

My favorite in Loudoun! I like that it's a red wine winery! And they are all great. Super reasonable too. Atmosphere is ok.

By Souljagirltee |

Beautiful! Beautiful establishment. This was my first visiting a winery period. Was pleasantly surprised at how massive the grounds are and thrme vast selection of wine and wine inspired offerings. Their pairing menu was right on target. Staff awesome and very helpful. I was on information overload. Had a great experience and prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend it. Even if you don't drink.

We are a small group of wine tasters that have sampled several northern wineries, and Fabbioli outshines them all. They have built a cool, circular new 2-story tasting/ welcome center with a large shaded patio just outside - very spacious and relaxing. But it's the wines, and even more so the pairings that really make the difference here! And Brian, our host, made the experience exceptional: making suggestions for later entree pairings that really put this place over the top! This is the first place we liked every single wine we tasted - worth the trip!

By wildzootv |

We were wowed with the tastings paired with small plates - absolutely delicious! They truly know what they are doing. We can not wait to go back and see what new pairs they create. Worth a drive!!

Tips/good to know:
- there is food for purchase there and dinning tables
-wear comfortable walking shoes as the walk up is a bit rocky (small rocks)
-they offer both dry and sweet wines

I did my research before I went, and was very excited to try the wine tasting that included the food bites. When we arrived they were a bit crowded but we paid for the tasting and were directed to sit in the middle and they would call us. It wasn't long before we were directed to sit at a bar with a few other couples. It was a young man directing us through the wines and food bites. I always felt rushed to empty the glass, and I wasn't the only one. If you were not ready, you got the look. I felt so rushed, that I never got time to write notes about which one I would like to buy a bottle of and move up to the top level of the tasting room with. My husband and I bought two boxes of girlscout cookies to support their charity, and left.

By jehenson81 |

I took one of my best friends to Fabbioli Cellars to show her why it is my favorite wineries and I think she understands why now. It was a bit chaotic in the tasting room when we arrived, but we paid and waited to be shown to one of the tasting bars. Rory was our server and he was just great. My friend and I joked around with him all throughout the tasting. I love that they are always changing up their tasting menu from month to month as well as the pairings. I loved the Ladies Man Cider again and the Raspberry Merlot is growing on me. My friend treated me to the trio of port style wines as an early birthday gift after we tried two of the three at the register (ask about tasting them if you are interested). I also finally got to meet the cat that is on the Ladies Man bottle and he was very loving.

By jehenson81 |

I love that they did an Irish themed tasting at Fabbioli for the month of March. There was the Attitude Adjuster welcome drink and then you started the tasting bite portion of the menu. They had two wines on the tasting menu which I have never had before the Fratelli and the Tres Sorelle. I really liked the latter one and this was the bonus wine for the month. The staff and I are getting to know each other with the frequency of my visits. And I am seriously considering joining their wine club.

The rudest general manager! Eileen was incredibly rude to an entire group of us ladies celebrating a friends 50th birthday. As soon as our bus pulled up, she met us in the driveway and basically gave everyone who stepped off the bus a sobriety test. Very weird. Then, forced her staff to card everyone including the 50 year old and her mother. Very very very strange and odd behavior. The woman was extremely rude and had everyone including us and her employees on edge. Not a nice person. When we arrived, we planned to stay until our dinner reservation but we ended up leaving over an hour early because we didn't want to support a business she was associated with. What a downer.

Well worth a visit if you're in the area! I paired chocolate with wine and this was a wonderful experience. Definitely a nice stop while visiting Leesburg.

By Yana |

My favorite winery in the area! The wine is absolutely magnificent. I generally prefer a nice Cabernet, but I love trying the variety they offer as a part of a tasting. They also have the perfect pairings! Each wine sample comes with a small bite of food that compliments the unique wine flavor. Makes for an amazing tasting experience. I also recommend their delicious custom cheese boards and chocolates. The choice of wine really depends on your taste buds but personally I enjoyed their Una Pera, Something White, Petit Manseng and Ladies Man. The outside area is very cozy. In the winter and fall they have heaters and fire pits. However, something for parents to be aware of, families with children are not allowed on the main patio. There are picnic areas around the ranch where the families with kids generally settle in.

Beautiful and quaint this family run winery is a must see! Very personable owners, marvelous employees and the wines are phenomenal!

By Reslysten54 |

This vineyard is trying hard to adjust to Covid-19 times, and we felt safe visiting. The tasting tray comes with plastic cups, of course, and a sheet with tasting notes. Unusually, this winery offers tiny, but carefully composed bites to nibble on with each cup. It is a nice concept.

Unfortunately, all the wines I tasted were light-bodied and lacking in complexity and texture.

There is ample seating available outside. The surroundings are pleasantly verdant but rather undramatic.

The service staff was delightful.

Lovely Venue! Beautiful views and LOVE the 21 and over, no dog tasting room. First time visiting that the tasting room associate was not pleasant. Sourpuss face and not interactive. Maybe not the right fit?

By WX-Lobo |

I won a little "tasting for 6" at a local event and thought, "Eh, at least it will be free even though the wines will be Virginian." Don't get me wrong - I was born in VA and LOVE VA, but generally the VA wines I've had have been pretty disappointing. Well - Fabbioli Cellars honestly knocked my socks off! We got lucky and our tasting was done by the owner who really showed he knew what he was doing. The wines were wonderful and the place just great to hang out with the friends. Simply put - come here to be inspired by VA wines - :-) Our experience was made even better by bringing a picnic from Whole Foods first (meats, cheeses, and nuts).

By Sher1234 |

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The tasting room itself has no ambiance, however the wines are really good. Try to go on a day when you can sit outside. The outside areas are really, really nice. You are also able to bring in your own food for a picnic. They had several nice fire pits going outside. The reds here are really good.

The tasting is a little pricier at $15 per person, but you can always share a tasting, which is what we often do. They will gladly give you another "sample" if you want to try somethign again.

Overall, one of the better wineries in Loudoun.

By keightstravels |

We went here on a recommendation on their food and wine pairings. While those pairings were very well chosen, the experience was very rushed. We tasted and ate 8 wine in 8 minutes. There was very little time to savor the wines nor food. The wines were mediocre, however the food pairings elevated the wine selection and experience. We did get a cheese plate to share after the tasting which was enjoyable. Would recommend if in a rush and ok with being moved along.

By mvssysprog |

We were traveling with friends to visit several northern Virginia wineries. The first three were very enjoyable and we were looking forward to visiting Fabbioli Cellars. The visit did not start well. Two wine flights were offered. The wines on those two flights were the only ones that we could sample- either by the flight or by the glass. There were quite a few additional wines that could be bought by the bottle, but could not be bought by the glass. When I asked why, the attendant said, we only offer those by the glass on the weekends. Two of our group ordered the sangria samplers, another one had a glass of wine and I had one of the flights. The wines on the flight were delivered in Jello shot cups! I did not care for any of the wines on the flight.

The four of us ordered a charcuterie to share, and it was given to us in Styrofoam containers. For what they charged, it was significantly overpriced.

We had great experiences at the other wineries, but we will not be visiting Fabbioli again.

We were greeted when we walked in by a hostess who was very rude to us. A group we were meeting up with had a tasting already going on. There were 2 empty seats with them & thought we could sit with them. We were told that we were not allowed to do the tasting with them. We would have to wait 3-7 minutes for the next tasting time. So, instead we ordered a bottle of wine & 2 glasses & wanted to just sit with them, we were told we could not - that we could drink the wine upstairs (no music, no noise, no people except for a tasting table) or outside on the Sail Patio (which 3 of us read that sign & thought it said "Soil" Patio. We were outside with the rest of the group of people, but when the original group came out, asked us if it was ok if we went out front because they had there children there & they were not allowed out on the Sail Patio. So, we had to pack up our stuff and instead of a direct line to the front, there was a "no crossing - Staff Only" sign, so we had to walk all the way around the building to the front. We finished our bottle of wine, enjoyed our friend's company & left to go to a party. We expect rules like this at winery that rhymes with "Sneaux" but thought Fabbioli wasn't this way. They weren't the other 2 times we had visited. Definitely disappointed, won't recommend & won't return :(

Louden County has a few great craft wineries and Fabbioli is among them. The northeast corner of Louden county has four or five wineries, but at this point, only Fabbioli and Tarara have wine worth adding to your collection. The others are fun to visit and often have acceptable entertainment, but the wine is not in the same class as Fabbioli or Tarara.

By jehenson81 |

As a member of the wine club, I get free tastings each quarter and took advantage of it in May with the theme of mother’s. The tasting bites were very different this time around but paired very well with the wines (fruity pebbles and an animal cracker with one). I had the tasting room basically to myself and had a new server Stephanie (just been there a month). She had a bit stiff when describing the wines (read from the tasting sheet), but she was nice and she was trying. The rest of the staff recognized me and was super as always. I got to have the sparkling chamborcin for the first time and it way better than the regular. Such a great winery. I will go back next month as always.

Stopped in for a tasting and pairing today and were delighted by both! The pourer was very friendly, loved the wines and the grounds are really nice. You are encouraged to bring your own food also so we bought a glass of our favorite wine and had a relaxing afternoon on their patio. Can't wait to go back!!

By Robin R |

The lady that did our tasting was wonderful!! She explained about the wine before tasting and had little snacks that went with the wines to enhance the flavor. She was so much fun!! We purchased some wine and sat out on their back patio area under the sails and talked, drank or wine and had a snack tray. Great, relaxing place and people were so nice, I will definitely go back when in Leesburg, Virginia area!! Great experience!!

I knew we were in for a treat when staff came out to greet our bus. They were patient, attentive, and genuinely interested in making my group comfortable. They did not rush us and everyone enjoyed their wine and beautiful views. The food was fresh and the selection was more varied than most wineries. The owner came over and shared about the logo and history of the vineyard. They offered individual checks and treated us to truffles. I have lots of happy residents. Thank you, Fabbioli's for a wonderful afternoon.

By Tina K |

I have to say the customer service experience was great from walking into the front door to our rental space for a friends surprise bridal shower. Big thanks to the 2 ladies that helped us get more table to put our food and gifts. Also it was great that we had someone come by to check to make sure if we need more wine or additional help with anything. The sister of the bride picked out the drinks and I have to say "Ladies Man" was my favorite cider. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely come back again but for the wine and food tasting experience.

By Debra T |

We have been several times over the years, 1st few times a great experience. Good wine, nice location, but we will not return. There are just too many good wineries in NoVa that are accommodating with friendly staff. I have not been since the Fall of 2013, so hopefully Fabbioli has received similar feedback and adjusted.

By Sally L |

This is not the most attractive tasting space in the area, and six adults were crowded together at a small bar table. The wines and pairings were tasty, but the amounts were minuscule. Although the recommendation is to drink without food and then after, the pour was so small that this was a challenge. Friendly staff.

By Howeaii |

My palate runs toward fruit wines and Fabbioli Cellars makes several that I absolutely love. On my recent trip back to Virginia, I stopped in to buy a couple of bottles (Raspberry Merlot and Una Pera) and was pleased to see so many varieties to choose from, from estate wines (Reserve, Tre Sorelle and Fratelli) to a port-style trio (Pear Wine, Rosa Nera, Royalty).

Doug Fabbioli also creates some showstopper wines: the limited edition Rose of Merlot comes in a heart-shaped bottle and he makes a signature Pear Wine with a pear grown in the bottle.

The tasting room staff is awesome - they’re so friendly and helpful, really great customer service. Looks like I’ll be ordering from Hawaii for the other wines I couldn’t fit in my luggage!

By sugarpiepops |

Love this place. Best wines around. Great pairings with tastings and really good wine club events. The staff are informed and professional. Doug Fabioli is a local wine celebrity. He is friendly and informative and always happy to chat and share his latest ideas.

My wife and daughter are both wine club members and we enjoy visiting Fabbioli 1-2 times every quarter for wine pick up and a tasting. The fun thing is that each tasting flight is paired with small bites of food, which is pretty unique. And each month they have a different theme I. The tasting room. This month it is Hawaii and when we were their in May is was famous TV Mom’s month. Always an enjoyable time!

Fabbioli Cellars produces some of my favorite red wines and the tastings are really fantastic. They offer 2-3 different tasting types of all of the wines available for the season, each paired with chocolate, cheese and charcuterie, or both. It's also really nice to walk about the property a little bit - up the road, you can see the pear tree from which they hang their pear wine bottles (with a little pear growing inside it!). Try to stock up on your favorites - they sold out of my favorite rose (which I love to have with pizza during the workweek). The Chamboursin is also a personal fav and an easy, yet still great, wine to drink. They also have other local treats available for sale - like olive oil, jams, etc.

This is a good spot when the weather is nice. The location is interesting to find - a dirt road off a dirt road. Relaxing and quiet, rows of vines, faint odor of cow manure. Not sure how they would have accommodated our party of 100 in the rain, as the indoor facility is small, but we were blessed with a dry, cool evening. The food was pretty straightforward and was just fine (not remarkable). Sorry that I cannot report on the wines and ciders (after all it is a vineyard), as I don’t drink.

Overall above average place for a special gathering.

We stumbled on Fabibioli by accident and so glad we did. A GREAT concept of offering food bites with the wines. 10 tastings with food for $25. Awesome experience. We'll be back!!

Yes, I know I keep reviewing Fabbioli, but I just keep going back and want to share how great they are with everyone. This time around, Fabbioli was my last stop of the day and I was surprised that they were not more crowded and busy as it was a gorgeous July day. They have you pay before you sit for a tasting and I was immediately directed to the far tasting bar with Castiel (hope I spelled that right). She was a bit shocked when I sat down by myself, but she was warm and friendly. It was just the two of us for my tasting and it was great. The bites for July focus on different parts of the USA so it made for some fun bites. I was familiar with most of the wines on the list, but got a new appreciation for the Something White (bonus wine) and the 2016 Meritage (enhanced by the bite it came with). Berry Good Friends, one of my favs, happened to be on the tasting menu this month and I lucked out that the ciders were all 10% off for the month (left with a bottle). It was a great time and the staff is always just so welcoming. Love this place.

This was our first stop after crossing the state line for a wine tasting. the tasting fee is $15 which seems high, but they include food bites as well. The wine itself was not bad quality, but for the most part they were outside my preference wheel. I enjoy a heavy bodied wine. If you are more into semi sweets and easy drinking wines then I would say Fabbioli is a good place to stop. The pours were very small, and like most northern VA vineyards the cost of the bottles are a bit over priced. They do make a very good port dessert wine, however it was $35 a bottle (small version). I enjoyed the food bites that they include with the tastings, as they seemed to be matched very well to the wine. They hold the tastings in the front room right next to the shop area, so it is very noisy. They are currently finishing up construction on a separate building for tastings, so that may change soon. The vineyard and shop are set up on a very pretty landscape.
I would probably return, as to check out the new tasting room, and I would be interested in giving the wines another shot after they move over to the 2013s

Met two other couples there on a Saturday and first time for all. All went smooth and had our tasting with the small food pairings, which was very nice. Ended up purchasing some bread, cheese, and wine and enjoying an hour or two. Staff pleasant and nice furnishings.

We stopped there during a recent visit to Leesburg. It was out favorite of the 4 wineries we visited.
We chatted with the owner and were given a golf cart tour of the vineyard, which we enjoyed.
The tasting staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoyed the food pairing with the different wines.
We liked that the winery had a very down to earth feel, and not snooty like some other wineries we have visited. We liked their wines and bought a couple bottles to take home to share with friends.
We experienced nice portions at our tasting , unlike some of the other reviewers stated. We didn't know if they were expecting a glass. No complaints here.

By Tanya R |

Do NOT miss going to this winery if you are in the area! You get your money’s worth and the staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable! We enjoyed the food pairings also!

By Rvrpaddlr |

We stopped here based on a recommendation from another winery. The food paring was 15 dollars, a bit steep, but thought we would give it a try. We were told sip, taste and sip. Sip was an understatement. There was barely enough wine to wet the bottom of the glass. I suggested to the server that perhaps a wee bit more in the glass may be appropriate, but that only resulted in less wine. I wish I could have measured the amount of wine. I am guessing maybe 3-4 cc's of wine. The food portions were minute. The piece of asparagus was less than 1/3 long, yet they boasted they raised their own asparagus. The wine was good for the most part, but 45 dollars a bottle is a bit much.

My husband and I go wine tasting on a regular basis and most of the wineries we have gone to have recommended Fabbioli Cellars, which in itself speaks highly of Fabbioli and their wines. The only disappointment was the fact that we did not go sooner than now!!!
The tasting was $10.00 per person (a lot of local wineries charge that and you get less) and unlike the other wineries, the total includes a food pairing (choice of chocolate or savory) with assorted locally made gourmet chocolates and variety of cheese/vegetable/meats. The pairings were perfect and were used to accentuate the characteristics of already amazing wine. If the experience and wine was not enough, the service was amazing as well, we felt welcome as soon as we came through the door and the hospitality continued through the tasting.
Everything was so wonderful that we even enjoyed a glass outside, which was also beautiful.
I work in hotel management and will make sure to share my wonderful experience with my hotel guests.

By ashleygS1185JK |

The staff was VERY knowledgeable about their wines! The tasting also came with small food bites in order to give an enhanced flavor. Loved it! They also had the cutest cat on property!

By Bonita B |

I was so happy to find GOOD Virginia wine so close to DC. I was there in less than an hour's drive and the cool Rasberry Merlot paired with chocolate made it worth it. I was also surprised to find very good red wines there as well. Stop by the Leesburg outlets for some shopping afterwards for the perfect little Saturday trip!

By Bobbie |

While visiting friends in the area, we often take in a wine tasting. Even on a cloudy day the area is beautiful. At Fabbiooi one savors the wine both before and after a bite size food pairing. It's a wonderful experience and I don't know why more wineries don't do this, even though it takes more time an prepation. Our host for the tasting seemed quite knowledgeable about the wines and interacted quite amiably with us. We decided to stay for a light lunch as well.

By SuefromVA |

Our daughter"s 30th decided on a wine tasting. She loves other fruit wines so we tried Fabbiola. Wonderful wines...a great tasting, and fun environment to hang and drink a bit more. Highly recommend! Fee for tasting.

By JDB |

terrible location as it is nothing more than some random guys basement turned into tasting room. the wine here, however, is oddly some of the best in loudoun. if you want good wine, come here, if you want atmosphere, do not come here....

By Bob T |

The "winery" consists of a single building dedicated to running tastings and selling stuff. I can get past the commercialization if only the wines were even the least bit drinkable. With so many wineries around and you should be able to find something better or at least more enjoyable.

On the plus(ish) side, the wines are accompanied by a plate of paired "food nibbles". These are half-crackers topped with a small dollop of something or other (and in one case a small chocolate truffle) that goes with the wine you are sampling. I was impressed that they were able to accommodate my girlfriend's gluten allergy (if only to remove those items that contained gluten.

That said, the worst parts were the wines, there were more than one, that contained raspberry flavoring. The high point was the chocolate truffle that accompanied the atrocious port at the end of this ill-advised flight.

By iDogbert |

The wine tasting is a little steep at $15, BUT that also includes a different food morsel specifically paired to each wine. A very nice touch which enhaces the experience to a notch above just a simple wine tasting at other wineries.
Definitely worth a visit.

By CdninLoudoun |

While the wine is some of the best in the region, we were disappointed as to how we were received by the winery staff. The Loudoun County wineries are amazing for families with children and we have always appreciated spending time sipping on wine during a picnic or enjoying our wine tastings with our son in toe. When we walked in for a wine tasting, we got a serious look from a staff member because our son was accompanying us. Our then 7 year old sat at a table with his book and read the whole time without saying a beep. Big success! As soon as i stepped out back to take photos (I knew weren't allowed there because of our kid), I was asked to go out front immediately because I couldn't take a child back there. While we are allowed to drink as well in the front and in the back on this property, I just don't understand the rationale behind this policy. Our visit was very disappointing.

By PJaneS |

This was a great way to experience a wine tasting - with very unusual and beautifully created food pairings. Three of us enjoyed a guided tasting of 7 wines, each with a delicious nibble of creative food.
Afterwards we ordered a platter of food and bottle of wine to share, for lunch; and sat in the pretty outside area to eat.
THe staff were friendly and we had a really good time here. Can't wait to go back to try another month's flight of tastings!

By Kelly B |

Unless you enjoy wrist slaps from a stressed out Hostess, long lines, under-staffed & over priced self-service, plastic cups and apparent arrogance...don’t bother! So many other wonderful wineries in the area to relax & enjoy...this place is a waste of time & money!

By Ron D |

Staff was very informative, wine tasting paired with small bites was great. Unique packaging offered on Port wines.

By Andrea L |

We went on around noon on Friday and we were so impressed. The grounds are beautiful!!! It is so nice and open inside with a warm friendly staff. I had the Something White wine and it was very good. We enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the sun - there is quite a bit of seating outside. It is a little bit of a hike on a gravel road to get to but believe me when I say it is so worth it!

By Bethany Z |

This place is just weird. Dr who theme I’m not sure what this has to do with wine. The blue drink with something poured in it yuckkkkk. The hot pink drink is even weirder. The cut outs are weird. Used to be one of my favorite places in the old building. Has changed so much.

By pruehs |

We had the tasting with food pairing wich is a brilliant idea, since the wines tasted much different with and without food. The taisting itself, though cosy it seemed like the presenter was in a hurry, so there was not enough time to taste one wine before you were expected to empty the glass so the next could be poured. We had the tapas plate afterwards wich was delightfull to enjoy in the shade of a tree overlooking the vineyard

By Michelle N |

Stopped at this winery with family, friends and two young children. We loved how they do the food pairings...it's nice to get that perspective. I do not typically like sweet wines, but I am in love with their Raspberry Merlot. Yum! I would like to see a few more whites added to their collection. The tasting staff was very friendly. I am sure we will back!

By JerryNorway |

We were there Oct. 10, 2012. Gentleman who runs the tastings is very professional. You get a choice of chocolates or cheese/crackers with the $10 per person tastings of eight different wines. Their reds are better than we've seen at other nearby wineries, even though this winery is only a few years old. I give this the highest recommendation. Very convenient to Rte. 15 north of Leesburg, just 8-9 miles from Leesburg restaurants.

By Mrbmist |

I really liked the feel of this place, it reminds me of our tasting at Home. The selection of wine was nice --we really liked the Una Pera.
The Raspberry Merlot was a surprise, absolutely delightful.
Overall a good experience, Celeste was very knowledgable and friendly, I would recommend this as a good Winery experience.

By MackFisher |

Stopped by on a cool and cloudy April Sunday and I will admit that this winery doesn't have the beautiful mountain views that many of the wineries in NOVA area. However, what is does have is the feel of a quality run family winery with plenty of delightful wines.

It was my first visit here and the food pairing tasting is a very nice touch that compliments their wines well. Cozy tasting rooms and friendly staff welcome you in.

After a tasting, sit back and relax on the outdoor patio with a glass or bottle with friends and love ones like it was an afternoon at home.

By Linda S |

Beautiful structure inside and out so I was excited to see if the wine was as good. In addition to wine, the offer hard cider...in Va...you can't call something cider...not sre how that goes....but the 2 I tasted were so smooth. One was a pear, and the other a honey crisp. The hpos are grown right on the premises. The wines we tasted was paired with a food bite.well done!! We puchased some whites; everyone's tastes are different but all the wine was quality. Folks there are very knowledgeable .

By breeze1der |

We didnt go to any other wineries, but this one has got to be the best. We paid 15.00 for the tasting but with each wine you got a food pairing. Each pairing was perfectly matched with each wine. The girl who did the tasting with us was knowledgeable and made the event fun. The wine here isn't cheap, but its not expensive. Its a great place to go with a bunch of friends, buy a bottle and sit outside the tasting room and just hang out for a while.. We had a great time just socializing outside after the tasting. Very nice decor and its very comfortable place to vist.

By Lisa F |

The tasting room is in the lower portion of a house, but is set up well. Pourer was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed the whites and most of the reds during the tasting. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fabbioli himself, he was very welcoming and of course knowledgeable! We look forward to returning to Fabbioli Cellars :)

By DaveGfromMD |

We were quite underwhelmed at Fabbioli, which was surprising based on the reviews we’d seen. On the positive, it was great to be able to taste the wine with food (great pairings) – that was fantastic. Unfortunately though, we did not really like any of the wines on the tasting menu and they were very inflexible in regards to tasting any other wines. We were trying to find something that we could buy, but asked 2-3 times about other wines and were told “there weren’t any open bottles”.

By sandraw6682 |

Enjoyed our stop by Fabbioli Cellars where we tasted some wine, had some cheese and crackers/bread, and sat under the shade for a couple of hours on a very hot and sunny afternoon. The place was packed and thus everyone seemed to be rushing around. Compared to previous experiences at various wineries and vineyards, this one for us was just average--not quite the ambience or the service we've enjoyed at others.

The place is just a house with a couple of patio areas and a rather narrow selection of whites and reds. The vineyard can be seen at a distance from the house. My wine choices were very good, which I guess is what paid for the visit and would make it an alternative to reutrn. Worth a visit but not being Leesburg's top rated attraction on Tripadvisor.

By CindyDavidD |

I had been here before but wanted to return with my husband because the wines are delicious and they offer food pairings with your tasting which elevates the experience to a whole other level. We had purchased the special tasting which included a wine/farm tour. Imagine to our surprise when the owner took us around and talked about how they do things. Dough Fabbioli is a very friendly, knowledgeable and fantastic tour guy. Would definitely go again.

By SBS50 |

I've been to quite a few wineries, in Virginia and other places. Each has its own character - some not so great and others wonderful. Wines certainly vary too and of course visitors' tastes vary. Fabbioli has a little something for everyone I think, although at a higher price than some locations. A regular wine tasting friend and I visited on a glorious late summer day and did the tasting, with three other folks, which costs $15 but includes tastes matched with the tasted wines. The tastes are just that - tiny little bits of cheese or spread or chocolate. They could have been a tad more generous but the point was proven re the impact of compatible foods on wines. The wines were interesting and a couple very good. First time I've had a wine largely from Asian pears and it was quite good but then there was a Bordeaux blend that was more compatible with my usual preferences and was also quite good. The tasting was nicely done and the young woman who did it was knowledgeable and took enough time with us. We bought some cheese, prosciutto, and a warm baquette (they loan you a cutting board and knife) and also two glasses of wine which were very reasonable ($5-$6 as I recall) and sat outside in one of the lovely seating areas, under trees or umbrellas, on patios. So, all and all a very nice way to spend a few hours and a few dollars in Loudon county.

By Bob G |

Very nice both outside and inside. Tastings are themed with a new theme each month. Tastings come with snack pairing for each wine.

By Amy H |

I attended the Knitoxication for the public knitting day and what a blast I had. The vendors had fabulous yarn and fiber. The food and wine were delicious! I highly recommend this place. It’s just enough out of the way to make you feel like you’re away from it all.

By Beatriz M |

we got there as they were closing but they really did a quick nice tasting including little bites, which were samples of the foodstuff they sell. They built a completely new facility & the tasting room is beautiful and the PEAR WINE was delicious.

By mog009 |

Visited Fabbioli on a sunny spring day and went for the $15 tasting which gives you 7 wines with, and here's the thoughtful difference, food pairings. These are small nibbles but beautifully prepared and designed to bring out the best in the wines.
The staff were very well trained and there are nice meals to order to take out into the grounds to have as a picnic if you don't bring your own. The charcuterie plate is particularly good for two not-too-hungry people.
There's plenty of room for kids to let off steam and theyare happy to have your dog along, just not in the tasting room.
A very nice way to spend a lunchtime.

My wife and I stopped by Fabbioli Cellars for a tasting and were met by one of the worst tasting experiences of our life. We have tasted all across the US and have never been treated this way. Brian met us at the door and proceeded to lay out the rules. Any wine carried into the tasting room had to be taken into the back room so that it wasn't consumed. We had wine from a previous tasting, so they took it for "safe keeping". It was heating up outside, so we had no option but to bring it in. The tastings had to be paid for up front so we didn't walk out without paying. "One bad apple spoils it for everyone". Unusual, but not fatal. Just inconvenient if you chose to buy a bottle as you had to run another charge through. The tasting wasn't bad, but not exceptional. It was nice to have the small food paring and we really enjoyed the Zinfandel. We decided to purchase a bottle but not before Brian asked us to move in case somebody else came in to taste. Now realize, this is not a tight tasting room with bustling crowds. This is a wide open room with tasting at various large tables around the room. There was one other group of three finishing their tasting and nobody else in the room or the parking lot. Being asked to move was unnecessary and rude. We went out to the deck and enjoyed a small glass before moving on. One of the cornerstones of any business is customer service and making people feel at home and wanted. Sorry Brian and Fabbioli, but you guys really missed the boat!

By Allan L |

One of the things that I love about Fabbioli is they are always trying new things. Whether it is Doug introducing a new wine, or changing up the tasting menu, the only thing consistent from month to the month is the quality of the wine.

Doug makes some of the best wines in Loudoun County. His Tannat and Tre Sorelle are both consistently excellent and his Reserve Cabernet Franc wins awards every year. The best part is he is known to spend his weekends popping in and out of the tasting room to sit and talk to people about his wines and life in general. It is not often you can chat with the winemaker while enjoying his or her wines.

By kimsatty |

We were visiting a friend in Leesburg for a few days and she took us for a tasting. We had been there several years ago and loved it then, but it even better with the new tasting room. Our server was very funny and well informed about the wines we were tasting. The small bites with each wine gave us another take on how the wine pairs with certain food. Great place!

By kduda118 |

The staff was extreamly friendly and welcoming. We had Poler Express Wine Pairings. The little bites were delicious and really changed the flavor of the wine. Overall, the wine was alright and a bit on the sweet side. However, the little bites made the whole trip worth it. It made me think of some new pairings to bring back for Christmas. Although we didnt try, they are now offering a chocolate and wine pairing. My favorite wine was the raspberry merlot and dark chocolate pairing which was our 4th pairing in our Poler Express tasting box. Overall, the trip is worth the whole experience.

By auvoir |

I have never had the type of wine tasting offered here. Small bites of food compliment the wines offered. A sip first, a bit of food, then another sip. Very interesting way to taste.
Also, this is a lovely spot to sit outside and visit with friends.

By jpromp |

Fabbioli Cellars is an absolute gem in Virginia wine country! The moment you arrive, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
Their wine flights are thoughtfully curated, each paired with small bites that truly elevate the tasting experience—every sip tells a story. The wines themselves are outstanding, with a perfect mix of bold reds, crisp whites, and creative blends you won’t find anywhere else.
The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and happy to share insights about the winemaking process. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or just starting to explore, Fabbioli Cellars is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!

By TravelingMama |

Wonderful tasting with food pairing. Great staff, full of knowledge about the wine they pour. Beautiful scenery, serene. The tasting menu changes monthly. I really enjoyed the tre sorelle and the chambourcin the most. I didn't hate anything. For sure stop for a tasting, you will walk away with at least one bottle. They have a nice barrel room where they do group tastings and social things, I think.

By Glenn H |

Superb red wines up and down the vintages and types.
Doug ( the owner ) is quite unique. Try the Cab Franc Reserve, any vintage .

By TKM_10 |

Came for a friends 50th birthday. Greeted by rude Eileen who immediately assumed we were drunk.... We were not, but were treated terribly. Have never seen such a thing and amazed that this is how they handle their business. Wine has alcohol. Will never return and will forever spread the word of their rudeness

By Megann E |

The staff was so friendly and greeted us at the door when we came in. The price of the tasting includes food bites that enhance the wines you are tasting. My favorite wine continues to be the Raspberry Merlot! I find the wines here to be consistently good! The venue itself is lovely with opportunities to sit inside or outside. I also like the food plates you can get here to go along with your wine.

By WinemeupScotty |

Fabbioli Cellars offered beautiful scenery and a nice flight of wines. Stick to your reservation time because they are serious about disinfecting and maintaining social distance during your experience. The family area is separate from the 21 and over which provides a good experience for all.

By jehenson81 |

So I am a regular at Fabbioli's and now have been a wine club member for a full year. I was there to do my monthly tasting and also to pick up my wine for the quarter. I arrived right as they opened on Sunday and had the place to myself for my entire 20 minute tasting. I got to have Brian as my server and we chatted like old friends (we have done several tastings together). I let him got through his normal spiel as I tasted the wines and bites with chatting in between. They had one new release on the tasting menu as well as several tried and true selections. I really enjoyed the Ladies Man cider and surprisingly the Barbera, even though I am not a red person. This did help with my wine selections though as the Barbera was on of the Doug's Picks. It was a lovely time and I look forward to Beauty and the Beast tastings for next month.

By ashotwell |

They pair the wine selections with small morsels of food. Nicely done. Some of the red wine is not a good value - welcome to Virginia wines. But give this place a try

By JaiOnHoliday |

i've been several times, and i will go back many more. great atmosphere and service is amazing! wine is out of this world! do the wine & chocolate pairing...your mouth will never be happier!

By Robert M |

I know the wine maker is famous, and the wine are mostly devine, but the chocolate! Heavens, the chocolate! Fabbioli's tasting was the most comprehensive, they pair wines with chocolate of artisan meats and cheeses. The guides are wonderful and very personable. We will be back, a it's an hour each way and we worth the trip,

By Dinah Y |

It had been awhile since my last visit. I took some different friends with me. This place has become our new go-to winery. The new tasting room is gorgeous. The tasting areas are great. Loved the food pairings. The port-style wines are great. Our pourers, Kyle and Art, were great. Can't wait to go back.

By Helen O |

We enjoyed the set up of Fabbiollis, as you are seated in groups of four. We were seated with another twosome and really enjoyed the tasting. The pairing with food is a great idea and definitely added to the experience. The portions are super small, but that is all that is needed, as they give you super small pourings of the wine. The wines were ok and we actually got most excited over the 2 cheeses they paired with the wines.
This was the first of four wineries we did that day and it was the most pricey at $15 tasting. Our server was really nice and helped us map our routes for other wineries.

By jroe11 |

Fabbioli is one of our favorite wineries. They have the best tastings as they offer you a food tray with different items to help bring out the taste of the wine. Their service is fast and friendly. Their wine tastes really good- they have an amazing Raspberry Merlot! Nice picnic area outside that we have eaten at on numerous occasions. A gem for sure!

By Julie G |

Loved the tasting with the food pairings, have never had that combo before. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! The ports are excellent and they have a wide range of wine types, something for everyone and price range. Beautiful location with plenty of seating indoor and out!

By sgtmorrison |

I hesitated for years visiting this winery seeing their tasting fee was $15. They had a Game of Thrones theme so my arm was twisted to give it a try. We tasted 8 wines and food was paired with 6 of them. What I really like is they have areas blocked off for the over 21 crowd sans kids and kid/family. The staff was great and the bottle prices are reasonable. We will definitely return.

By Lisa M |

My husband and I throughly enjoyed this visit. There were a lot of large groups and it was very noisy but we ended up having our tasting upstairs. There are tables reserved for handicapped if needed which you don't see a lot at wineries. A wheelchair could easily fit comfortably. Most of the other patrons that we chatted with had been here before so I knew it was going to be great. The host was fun and very knowledgeable. The food pairings were a great plus. It is amazing how different a wine can taste before and after a specific food. We enjoy red and white wines, but ended up purchasing only reds. I highly recommended a stop here.

By Gibsongirl104 |

Stopped here on our way to PA. We've been to about 40+ vineyards in VA, but this one stands out. They've been around for awhile, and you can taste the difference in their wines. Not only are the vines mature, they're established enough to let their wines rest. I think most of what we tasted was already three years old. They do a sit down tasting paired with some interesting food bites. I believe they rotate their tastings monthly, so it's very easy to come back again and again. Our hostess was pleasant and knowledgeable about the wines and vineyard. Great way to spend an hour or two!

By Ankur S |

This is my favorite winery. Relatively low key, easy going, good wine with some nice spots to relax. It helps its right off 15. Go here maybe 5-6 times a year while passing through.

By Barbara B |

Enjoyed this winery very much. RSVP required but we were late and they were still able to take us. Staff friendly, outside distanced seating, fire pits available, good wine, food bite/cheese pairing, and monthly themed. Highly recommend a visit for sampling.

By Funkybrunky |

I visited Fabbioli for a tasting experience and was extremely impressed with not only the wines but with the zeal and passion for thr art of winemaking that Doug Fabbioli expressed throughout the visit. The Paco Roho, Chambourcin and Raspberry Merlot are without fault and each of his other varietals are fabulous as well.

Virginia is beginning to be recognized for its wine country and Fabbioli is surely leading the way and setting a standard for the newer winemakers to live up to.

As for the place itself, it's quite charming. A nice place to cozy up to a fire outdoors on a chilly day and enjoy a glass of vintage. The tasting rooms are well appointed.

My only complaint, the young lady who conducted our tasting seemed to not be able to offer much knowledge about the wines and didn't have the white wines chilled. I later was able to taste the Una Peara chilled and it made all the difference in the world.

Aside from that, I was already making plans to return as I left the property. A great place to spend time any day of the week! Make sure you speak with Doug Fabbioli when you visit. His knowledge and joie de vive will greatly accentuate your experience!

By keh199 |

Driving through the area and stopped by on an early Friday afternoon in December. We were the only customers for most of our visit and warmly greeted by Brian who explained the setup for the tasting. Pay up front at register, $15 for 7 wine tastes and 6 small bites paired. Brian was great, explained each wine and offered some pairing ideas and how it would pair with the bite we were having. Whole tasting took about 15-20 minutes and afterwards we were presented with options to taste additional wines for a cost or purchase a bottle/glass and snacks to enjoy if we choose. We chose to get a bottle of Perry (pear cider style wine) and a brie trio w/jams, honey, and a warm baguette. Everything came out quick and wonderful and we chose a nice seat on the second floor overlooking vineyards and the Christmas tree. Enjoyable stop and will consider stopping by in the future for another tasting (which we were told changes and if wines happen to repeat, the small bite would be different) or snacks.

By P C |

This winery is excellent in the types of wines Doug Fabbioli, a superb winemaker, makes but also a draw is that each month they change their wine tasting which pairs a small taste of foods with a sampling of their wines. It's a great place for me to take visitors who all love it, plus I enjoy going frequently because of the varied tastings and chocolates that are available. Their Raspberry Merlot dessert wine is excellent but then again, all their wines are delectable. For years Doug made red wines only, but their "Something White" wine is wonderful, and in response to those asking for a white wine. Una Pera is a wine made with pears that are grown on his land, too. Example of an excellent Virginia winery!

We had been hearing wonderful things about Fabbioli so we decided to give them a try on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy, but not overly crowded. It was $15/each for a tasting that included bites of food for each wine. The pours were tiny, barely a sip, so it was hard to know if you really liked something. The lady doing our tasting was very nice, but didn’t seem to know a lot about the wines.

Overall, we felt rushed and that they just want to get people through as quickly as possible. The wines were okay, but nothing special. We are not likely to return.

We did appreciate that a lot of the property is 21+. We don’t go to wineries to deal with unruly children. They also had a cat wandering around that was very sweet!

A new appreciation of red wine as a result of the pairings of wine with chocolates and savory meats and cheeses. The raspberry merlot and pear wine were a must buy for us.

By Anthony B |

The staff - the blonde woman who served us was really really rude. With that said, I cannot recommend this place. If you like pear cider it is fine. I appreciate good wine.
The pairings was the best part.

Doug Fabbioli seems to have his hands in a lot of the wine making taking place in Loudoun but his own winery is among the best in VA. His wines are consitent year over year and are exceptional for the novice and experienced wine drinker alike. The winery itself is not as grand as many of the wineries in Loudoun and tastings are done out of the family's home basement. Dont let the surroundings get you down for the wine itself is the real draw. We usually have to argue over what we are taking home and it usually ends up in a little of everything.
This is a must stop for "wine lovers".

By erskit |

This was the third winery my wife & I visited in Loudun County, and we were both very impressed. The wine tasting is paired with food bites, each of which complemented the wine being tasted and fully demonstrated the interaction on the palette of food & wine.
The variety of wines produced is broad, and, quite simply, each was very good, some were fantastic. If planning to visit, allow some time to get a glass (or bottle) of your favorite variety and enjoy it by the firepits. Just a really nice way to spend an afternoon.

We had an impromptu visit to Fabbioli Cellars last Saturday (July 21st 2012) on our way to the First Annual Purcellville Food and Wine Festival in Purcellville, VA. The winery was wonderful, the staff was very skilled and the presentation of the tastings is unique and moves at a leisurely pace. There is a $10 fee for tastings, but that pairs the wines with either a savory or sweet sample of foods, plus education about the combinations. We found Fabbioli's tasting methods to be unique and fun.

Driving home to Va on Route 15. Saw the sign, love wineries and stopped. Beautiful facility. Tasted wines for $15 - really enjoyed the reds. Can Franc and Zin favorites. Went upstairs and enjoyed a glass with a gorgeous view of the vineyards. Bought a wine trio to take home. Would definitely go back again with our wine drinking friends.

We live in Fairfax, about 50 minutes away, and Fabbioli is one of our go-to wineries any time we want a little get away, as a couple, with girlfriends, or with family that are in town visiting. It’s smaller in size so it’s never too crowded and we love the wine and food pairings that they do with the tastings, which change “themes” every month. They have vegetarian optionsthe tastings as well, which I really appreciate. You can bring outside food if you want to sit outside, but their snack plate options are so plentiful that we’ve always just gotten food there. The cheese and warm baguettes are a favorite! If you’re in town, be sure to check out this awesome winery!

Pro tips:

Get there early. The winery opens at 11:00 most days and you’re usually only one of a few parties there at that time.

There is a beautiful room downstairs in the octagon, but we love the seats upstairs where it’s usually quiet and you can see the vineyard.

Follow them on social media - they often post quizzes and you can be entered to win a free tasting!

My husband and I live in Loudoun County and love to frequent the many different wineries here. Hands down, our favorite is (and has been) Fabbioli's. they specialize in a variety of reds, but have a excellent white wines as well. I love their 'Something White'. My other favorites have been their *famous* raspberry merlot, and the different port style wines they make. They do a wonderful food pairing included in the tasting fee which enhances the whole experience. We are club members here and come out on a (minimum) quarterly basis. Doug is also extremely friendly and knowledgable and the staff is as well. Fabbioli's is a must!!!

By reg v |

Went on a Monday afternoon. It was not crowded, as expected. We had a really nice time, there tasting room has plenty of seats and space at each table, the staff was knowledgable and friendly. The assistant wine maker was in the room and came over to chat. They let you bring outside food and provide outside seating to consume it. There are picnic tables as well as some patio furniture. Some shaded areas and some sunny areas. Highly recommend mid week, I think weekends might be a challenge and more rushed.

I think this is probably the first winery you can get to from DC on Route 7. Prices were 15$ for tasking and about 15-30 for a bottle. They tolerate kids, but it's a winery so they don't have much to do . . . picture attached is one of the winery cats by his namesake

By brian k |

This place was very crowded when we were there, which sort of took away from things in my opinion. The staff was friendly, and nearly all of the wines were paired with a small bite which was fun. The wine themselves were very good too.

By RAS12 |

We enjoyed this winery and our tasting there. They did a beautiful presentation with food paring.

By rlwags13 |

We had a great time at this winery! Stopped in on a Friday afternoon, which I highly recommend doing versus going on a weekend. No crowds! Love the decor in the tasting room and the shape of the building itself is cool. The upstairs seating offers nice views of the vineyard. Kim (I think?) gave us our tasting, which was unique in that it offered little bites of food paired with each wine ($15pp). She was super friendly and knowledgeable. I would love to come back here when the weather is warmer-they have lots of outdoor seating and a couple fire pits for a relaxing day outside!

By jehenson81 |

When people ask me what my favorite local winery is, I always say Fabbioli as it is amazing plus the first winery I visited just 10 months ago. I went back on the last nice day of this crazy winter we have been having and I was the first taster of the day. I didn't realize that the tasting menu and the food bites change every month so I had a nice completely different tasting. Deb was my server and she was great. They had two ciders on the menu (neither with bites) which were superb (got a bottle of each). The Bi-Coastal is their wine of the month and I have to say I enjoyed it. I will have to try to go back more often.

By HJM1971 |

Fabbioli is a must when I'm in your area. Wonderful tasting paired with cheeses and chocolates. Doug puts his heart and soul into his vineyard. Thanks again for a great afternoon!! See you all again! 🍷

By Michelle G |

We did a full tasting which also comes with a food pairing. This was our first time, but apparently, they change up the wine/food each month to keep it interesting. They have a great outdoor seating area and also have food for purchase.

By Disney1974 |

I stopped due to online reviews as I live in the area and havent been to a winery in the area. I wish that I had more time to sit, relax, and do a tasting.
The employees couldn't have been nicer. I tasted the Raspberry Merlot. Delicious!!
I walked out with 3 bottles of different kinds.
Can't wait to return and relax!!

By TravelBugSLS |

Best deal!!! Wine and food pairing for $10 and Jim was very knowledgable. The environment is great for lunch or to purchase a bottle and enjoy the view.

By vtpsu |

We've visited a number of vineyards in the area and found this one to offer better wines overall. And, pairing with the bites of food does compliment the wines. Wine + chocolate = YUM! The setting is also nice and relaxing.

By TLP261 |

My wife really enjoyed the 7 sample $15 tasting, each of which was paired with a small bite of food. The food was designed to enhance the wine and she said it really did.

They sell some food items to have on-site if you care to buy a bottle and spend some time.

Very friendly staff too.

By Norma M |

Gals' week: We had to stop at Fabbioli. It was recommended to us by two friends. They offered a wine pairing tasting for $15 that included a Una Pear wine with caramel on brie, an excellent Sangiovese with a buffalo ranch white cheddar popcorn,a Cab Franc with pineapple chipotle salsa and cream cheese tortillas, and a Tre Sorell with a balsamic cherry basil and mozz pairing. Very pleasant staff.

By ADKFIX |

This winery offers a tasting of 7 wines with small pairings. It's a nice idea and well presented. The pairings are very small, but the price is reasonable and the wines are all very good. There are several intimate serving areas for tastings so your party has privacy. There is outdoor seating for after if you want to buy a bottle and some snacks to drink while there.

By SPKinVA |

This was our best experience at Fabbioli. We were happy with their beautiful new tasty room. The wines are much better than in the past. The food pairings were nice. The cat (Warren) sat next to me and was cute and friendly. We had a bottle of the bicoastal and cheese and crackers upstairs in the tasting room. I must say that I'm so pleased with their customer service. Whether you are waiting for the food or the restroom, they are there making sure you are happy. Great service Fabbioli!

By PalomitaBlanca |

Fabbioli Cellars is one of my favorite places to visit in Northern Virginia. It's located off a main road in Leesburg and has all the right ingredients for making it a standout winery: it's pictureresque, it is quaint, the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the grounds are pretty. We did the tasting which comes with bites to eat (cheese, veggie lasagna), and hand-painted chocolate (Omg, so good). Our oenophile was Sheila who walked us through out wine tasting and our treats. She was very funny and informative at the same time. She made out experience all that much more well-rounded. Fabbioli is lucky to have her. My favorite wines are the Rosa Luna and Raspberry Merlot. After doing the wine tasting, we went outside to have a class of wine and talk and relax. There were other visitors on-site doing the same. Fabbioli has now become my go-to winery choice whenever I have family/friends/visitors that want to have a good experience of wine tasting. I will return again and again.

By Truthinthemiddle |

Stopped at Fabbioli while touring wineries in the Leesburg area. Not only were the wines excellent, but we also thoroughly enjoyed the paired tasting led by Jim, aka, "Jimmy Cocktail". His knowledgable approach, enthusiasm about Doug's wines, and easy going manner made this a relaxing and fun experience. The tasting room is very comfortable and my wife with the bad back appreciated the chance to sit down during the tasting. If you plan to visit just one winery near Leesburg, this is the one to go to.

By DCMcG |

This is perhaps my favorite Leesburg winery. Some points of note:
The winery only serves red wines, and fruit, or incorporation of fruit is a big part of the collection. The wines are not "sweet", but do rely heavily on fruit.

The winery is based in the owner's home, in the basement. I love the ambiance, but it is different than the big guys down the road with large production areas and huge balconies, etc. This is a small, boutique type winery that is good at what it does, but doesn't try to do everything. I wouldn't come here with a giant group, you may not get the experience you're hoping for.

Your tastings will be paired with either a cheese/meat plate, or a chocolate plate. Each bite goes with a specific wine and it's meant to be an overall culinary experience. The tasting fee is a bit high ($10), but you get a lot of information about the wine, and pairings, and the chocolate is amazing!

On a Friday afternoon my husband and I were the only two people here and received a thorough and informative pouring session. After our tasting we ate a picnic lunch on the grounds, and left with many bottles! I will definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a slightly different, smaller scale winery in Leesburg.

By Kara W |

Rustic setting with multiple tasting areas. Unlike the crowded room sized bar in some tasting rooms, Fabbioli Cellars has 'individual' seating for small groups (4-6 people), as well as a larger group station.

One unique feature of this tasting is that they include food pairings (chocolates or savories) in the $10 tasting fee.

The staff members were all very knowledgeable and helpful.

After our tasting, we enjoyed a bottle in a pair of Adirondack chairs out under a shade tree.

By John B |

Wine was really good! We even bought wine that was not on the tasting course!

Tasting was paired with bites of food - excellent! They appreciate feedback which does enhance the experience. Front end service & tasting hostess were top notch! Definitely recommend this place.

By BeckAndGunny |

Took some friends after having visited a few times before. Always a fun time! The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, while simultaneously feeling a little highbrow (I think because of the awesome tastings and the personal sommelier! We enjoyed the Thanksgiving tasting and then bought a bottle and some bread and oil and sat outside by the firepit and enjoyed the fall sunshine and the warm fire (tended by another employee who was both attentive and nearly invisible!) I'll definitely be back!

By Edward S |

Don't ruffle the educators!
They have a fairly well planned presentation for wine pairings. I tend to try to be funny so that can be a little disruptive to a presenter. My wife ate a food pairing out of order and disrupted the presentation then I kept asking if the (obviously meat) partners were vegan.
Oh well...
They have a couple of resident cats. We only saw one. There is a "lounge" away from the new elevated tasting area. Very nice, very cool inside (it was scorching hot the day we were there). Gift shop, wine, wine freezes, wine flights, food. Interesting grounds. It's a vineyard with a big visitors center. There were adults, families and seniors visiting.
I had never been to a winery before so I found it fascinating.

Doug Fabbioli has been making wine for a long time, and he has brought the science of one making to a fine art. An Italian by heritage, his wines have a unique Italian linag as well. A new tasting room has propelled his winery to a must visit category. Although all of Doug's wines are exceptional, I strongly recommend the San Genovesse -- truly the best r d wine I have ever had the good fortune to drink. I buy it by the case. And after tasting it, you will too.

By Maria T |

I've been coming here for 15 years and I've never had a bad wine. I bring my friends and visitors and we all agree...we love their wines. The scenery is great, too. You can taste with a food pairing (recommended) or not. Very family-oriented and involved!

By VAWineGal_11 |

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Fabbioli. We have tasted their wines at many shows throughout the years and finally got a chance to visit. We joined the Speakeasy Wine Club and got to do a vertical tasting with Doug Fabbioli of Cab Franc ('08-'11). What a wonderful experience to hear his passion for wine-making come through each glass of wine. Doug is truly captivating and he is only out to make the best wine he can. Lots of other wineries make what is popular or what they can mass produce just to make a buck. Doug Fabbioli is truly a master craftsman of wine and he is excited to share it with others.
We also enjoyed a full tasting paired with food (previously did the chocolate pairing which was equally wonderful). The firepits outside were roaring and guests of all ages were enjoying the atmosphere. Definitely come for a tasting and stay awhile...you won't be disappointed.

By brookeh342 |

Fabbioli Cellars does a food pairing with the wine that makes the experience that much more enjoyable.

By margaret f |

we had a very informative and casual afternoon at Fabbiolis. The vintner was personable and tried to get us as excited as she is by viniculture. We were asked to explore what WE liked and then persue that as opposed to telling us what we should like. I had a great time and will be back!

By Kathy S |

Nice tasting pairing. The tasting is a little spendy, $15.00 but they do do pairings with their wines. Nice tasting area. I would do it again!

By Lesley W |

We were in Leesburg for a long weekend thanks to a family wedding where Fabbioli Cellars wines were served. When we learned that the vineyard where the wonderful wines were crafted was 6 miles from our hotel, we made a point of spending part of a free morning at the winery. It was a Monday morning in June, warm temperature on a sunny day and we were delighted because we the only customers on site. We paid $15 for the wine tasting with the food pairing but it was worth it - a lot of thought had been given to the food choices as well as the wine selections. We were already in love with the Raspberry Merlot when we arrived but recommitted to our love affair with it during the tasting. I agree with the other reviewer who gave lukewarm reviews to the white wine - Something White - but the other reds we tried were excellent and they have some wonderful pear wine as well. We ended up buying a baguette and some cheese and sausage and perching in the pleasant garden outside the winery for a delicious, restorative picnic lunch -- ending with a small selection of the excellent chocolate truffles they sell at the winery. Go if you can -- especially on a weekday -- where you will have the place to yourself and enjoy a special experience. Colleen was our guide through all of this and I made a point of telling her that her warmth, her knowledge and her professionalism were a big part of the positive experience. My only issues were the cost of the tasting and ultimately -- the cost of the dozen bottles we bought for shipping home and to family. But I'm confident it will be money well spent!

By CT |

This winery offers excellent wine. The uniqueness of paring wine with food makes it an unusual experience. They also now offer a wine club. We recommend you visit this place and don't miss the experience. Have a glass of wine enjoy the outdoors and enjoy their furry visitor.

By Mae4545 |

We really enjoyed our wine tastings at Fabbioli Cellars. It is $15 per person and you taste 6 wines. It is nice that with each wine you get a little food pairing which really enhanced the tasting. Very pleasant and knowledgeable personnel. There also is for an additional
$5 a hard cider tasting that includes 2 additional wine tastings. We did not do the cider tasting but I heard several people comment on how nice it was. Pretty view. Lovely area.

By Jayne H |

Not only are the wines delicious and the setting pleasant, the free food pairing that comes with the $15 6-pour tasting are really well done. Great outdoor space in nice weather.

By ohiomom415 |

I loved the small food pairings with the wine! I was able to learn more about wine and what I liked and disliked. We bought a bottle to share along with some snacks and took them to the upstairs room. Everyone was extremely nice and professional, but I didn't feel intimidated at all (for not knowing much about wine).

By BM6318 |

My wife and I have been here a few times and this place never disappoints. Plenty of seating upstairs and the wines are great. We love the food pairings that come with the tastings. The wines are reasonably priced compared to other similar wineries in the area. During this past visit Doug took us on a tour of the vineyard and barrel room as part of a gift certificate package we had. He is very personable and sociable and you can tell he really has a passion for what he does. We will continue to return to this winery.

By RockabillyDave |

We did the tasting with food for each wine offered. Was a neat experience having never done the tasting paired with foods. Well paired small snack bites with a selection of their wines also every changing to keep things fresh. We did purchase a bottle of their cider wine and got cozy upstairs overlooking the winery which is just what I wanted out of this visit. Is back a long road that seems to be heading to nowhere but that is a plus when it puts you right in the middle of the vineyard.

By zhughes31583 |

good wine, friendly staff. The wife and I had an enjoyable time.

By 973winelover |

I, for one, am glad that there are adults only areas at this winery. I have witnessed children on the grounds as well as inside. I don't understand why adults would take children to a business whose main purpose is not to entertain, but to serve and sell alcohol.
Fabbioli makes some of the best wine in Loudoun County. Their unique approach to tasting gives everyone--from the novice to the educated wine lover--a great perspective. The food bites are paired perfectly with the wine.

By TarHeel071 |

This is the best winery we had ever visited that we all enjoyed every one of the wines tasted. To top it off, each wine tasting was paired with an appetizer to get the full benefit.

By Susan M |

My son and I stopped in and found a really nice place. The outside picnic areas are very nice and the wines are really good. The wine and food pairings were fabulous. Felt the amount of wine given for each tasting could have been a bit more generous.

By J E |

We stopped in after another area winery suggested we give Fabbioli a try and as soon as we entered were greeted by a counter and someone at a register, as if to sell tickets. We were explained that they do things alittle differently here, as they sell tastings with pairings for $15 each, we pay then and they will take us back into the tasting room when a table opened.
We actually liked how this was set up, as it will help prevent the "pushiness" that occurs at popular vineyards when there are too many people gathered around the tasting bar at one time.

The pairings they offered were nicely done and really did accompany the wines quite nicely.

Overall, we enjoyed the entire visit, except that the tasting is rather over priced for what you get... they could very easily do this for $8 - $10, instead of $30. In fact, we could have gone to other wineries and gotten a bottle and two tastings for the same price. The bottle prices here are average and they offer nice, local treats in their shop as well.

By Val |

We paid $15 each for a tasting of 7 wines and small food pairings. The food pairings was a nice touch except that they were as big as a thumb nail. We were supposed to take a sip, eat the food and re-taste the wine. The trouble was the pours were so small we could hardly taste the wine. We have been to wineries in Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, Canada, Napa, Sonoma, Virigina, Maryland, and Delaware. So this wasn't our first rodeo. Staff was very pleasant. But they were getting new septic put in so the grounds were being torn up with a bulldozer. Maybe wait till that is finished before you go😎

By Denice T |

Love Fabioli wine! Smooth, complex, mature reds. Pear port has a perfect balance of brandy and sweetness. And the Raspberry Merlot.. I can never buy enough.

By snowshine18 |

I went to Fabbioli with my parents this past weekend, my mother and I were very excited to do the pairing as this is a somewhat new experience for her. We were seated by an unpleasant blonde who appeared to be irritated that we were doing a tasting. I brushed it off thinking that she was perhaps rushed or busy doing something else.

Upon giving the samples, she consistently filled my mom’s glass to a standard 1 ounce pour while mine was about 1/2 to 1/3 of that. After about the 3rd pour of the same, she said to taste the wine, take a bite of food and taste the wine again. I noted that it didn’t seem like there was enough to do that and pointed out the difference in our glasses (which anyone with eyes could see) and the blonde woman became instantly defensive and aggitated. She told me “All you have to do is ask for me. That’s all you have to do.” in the most condescending tone with the most condescending look you can imagine. She spoke to me as if she were speaking to a 21 year old who was looking to throw back a few glasses, not to a 36 year old who went for an enjoyable tasting with her 70 year old parents.

She continued to explain that she can legally only pour so much. I am very aware of this, I simply wanted the 1 ounce pour I should have been given.

I am well traveled and have been to MANY tastings... this was by far the worst. You could have amazing wines but it’s also about the experience. And the experience was ruined by this woman’s poor attitude and negative tone. She did attempt to step it up after the comment and appeared to be knowledgeable and (would have been) enjoyable to talk to if she didn’t have such an attitude problem. You know it’s bad when my parents (who are typically very easy going) were talking about her in the car instead of the wines/experience.

This clearly isn’t the first negative encounter others have had with this employee after reading the negative reviews. I think this winery would be a great experience if you get another employee to do the tastings. I would typically buy several bottles but, I couldn’t judge many of the wines with just one sip and, quite frankly, we just wanted to leave.

By Jedimasterkush |

Not that I would recommend it but we showed up just a few minutes before closing and they were more than happy to do a pouring for us and there was no rushing. Throughout the day when we told other wineries and people where we were going they all raved of Fabbioli. Funny thing is we were also told that they weren’t big producers of white wines which was as fine with me but all we got was as two reds during the tasting. Very friendly and knowledgeable server. Also there was a couple nice tasties served with some of the wines. Good stuff

By anng0217 |

We recently moved here from TX & love that there are so many wineries to try. Fabbioli was one of our 1st to visit. This past weekend I took 3 girlfriends who grew up in VA but had never been. It was very crowded but we didn't have to wait too long for a tasting seat. Our tasting hostess was great! Told her I couldn't do the reds because of migraines so she just kept subbing another of my choice. Makes the pairing off but better than being miserable! The pairings are tasty! We got 4 trays of food to eat outside by the fire and they were SOOOO good!! They have great ciders and amazing wines, definitely a favorite spot to spend a few hours on a nice day!

By Tommy C |

This is a very positive review... read it through!

I always laugh when I read a wine label or hear the pouring host say "This wine goes great with chicken, and steak, and seafood, and pork, and... and...". Give me a break... the point is to pair a wine with something it goes beautifully with - something that while the wine might go good with other things, fine, but when it is paired with this one food/taste in particular it creates an amazing combination that sets it distinctly apart and "wows the tastebuds".

While my experience with most wines and wineries is that they just don't understand that if they claim it goes good with everything - then there is nothing special about it... this is NOT the case with Fabbioli Cellars. They know pairings perfectly... and they "pair passionately". They don't just provide you a wine tasting, if you get the pairing menu then you get to indulge in an epicurean delight!

Bar none... the Raspberry Merlot is the best wine to pair with chocolate/desserts of any wine I have had from around the world. Most Virginia wines I don't feel too strongly about in reviewing the wine itself... but the Raspberry Merlot here is a MUST have next time you have brownies (or anything chocolate) for dessert!

Enjoy!!

There is nothing about a roadtrip to Fabbioli's that we don't like. We recently attended the debut of their 2014 Chardonnay and 2 other wines; they did a fabulous job of pairing food with the 3 wines presented. We bought some of each plus a case of the Chardonnay. Even if you don't do a tour of the VA wineries, this is a "must do" destination if you enjoy good wine. We are going back today to pick up more of their award-winning Chardonnay.

By Jay M |

Went on a date here, I’ve never been to a winetasting before. The staff here was very knowledgeable and made sure that it was a very pleasant experience for me I don’t know whether it was worth the money or not since it was my first time. But I will repeat the experience and other wineries. I really liked it when we were able to buy a bottle of the wine we tasted and then sit outside near the fire pit and drink it and talk.
I believe that they really put a lot of thought into how they arranged the property and it works good.

By Lisa C |

We went today to fabbioli cellars and did the wine and food pairing tasting. The bites were well paired with the wines but more than that they were very creative bits. Fabbioli has wines for those who like sweet wines and those who appreciate drier wines. The room is beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. A great way to spend and afternoon!

By Prabir C |

Enjoyed the food and wine pairings. Friendly and knowledgeable servers. More of an intimate experience that other wineries.

By Logan D |

This is definitely the place to go if you want to take your dog with you! The winery is gorgeous and has plenty of shaded space to sit out with your friends (both human and furry) and enjoy wine and food.

The wine here is really good (especially the red - my favorite is the Chambourcin) and they have food for purchase or you can bring your own (you just can't take it actually inside the winery, but outside is ok).

By RoyStormer |

The wife and I love this place! The rolling hills are beautiful and the landscaping is done well here. There is outdoor seating and 2 floors where you can hang out after a tasting.

The wines are fine (its Virginia, not Napa) and while I do wish they poured more during the tasting, their innovative food pairings is what keeps us coming back. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating of our large groups.

Everything is on the pricier side but we always enjoy ourselves here. I suggest bringing some games to play with friends and buy a bottle or two and relax!

They had a pop up patisserie this weekend which had some great desserts. Every month they change it up so you never have the exact same thing twice.

Their raspberry wine is still our favorite!!

By chazman |

What a wonderful hidden gem! A little off the main road but well worth it. Staff was friendly and created a terrific tasting. They offered a single bite food parring that worked so well. Loved their wine offerings which show cases their wine venue. Set out on the lovely patio with beautiful country views. Already looking forward to a return trip

By Karen M |

Left the winery as we were only welcome in if children were accompanied out front away from the winery.

By Bonstet |

The intimate setting for tastings, as well as wonderful food parings, makes this a special place. Upon arrival, you pay for your tasting and wait a couple minutes while the food parings are laid out. Both the wine and the pairings change each month and may tie into a theme, such as “Dr. Who.” Servers are very knowledgeable. The new building is very nice and the outdoor seating is pleasant and comfortable. We recommend this place to people who want a nice tasting experience with above-average wines. There are other NoVa wineries with better views or ambiance, but this is a great go-to for people who like to learn about the wine and enjoy the addition of yummy food parings.

By 101travelled |

This is a very enjoyable experience. The wine is excellent. The food is fun and you can buy extra and sit outside and enjoy your favorite wine. It is fun to rate the wines as you drink them and then have a whole bottle of your favorite.

Fabbioli Cellars is an excellent place to go both with both family and friends. The food and wine pairings are excellent and always fresh. The price of the food and wine pairing is more than reasonable. This establishment is very clean and the staff is more than friendly. There lots of really great seating areas both inside and outside. Fabbioli Cellars is constantly improving and changing. Some days/evenings there are other forms of entertainment such as music and tarot card readings. During our visit there were fresh cut flowers on all of the bars, tables, and even in the bathroom. The flowers were beautiful and a very nice touch. They sell food and lend you a knife and cutting board so you can easy cut and serve your food. They also serve non-alcoholic beverages. We will be back to visit Fabbioli Cellars very soon!

By Jessi D |

Unique winery: seated tastings paired with small bites of food, and a cat named Warren. The raspberry Merlot was really good with dark chocolate! And they had three distinctive ports. There was a lot of space for enjoying a glass, whether it was upstairs or outside with fire pits and winery views.

By far one of the better wine tasting experiences in VA. They had some really interesting blends and predominantly red wine which is rare out there. The tasting room itself is fine and the outdoor areas to sit are plentiful. They had a wood fire pit going on our visit. Oh yeah - they pair with food (little tiny bites), which is a great way to taste.

So I took my parents with me to a tasting on Sunday and I was surprised on how busy Fabbioli’s was. The lady at the check-in remembered my name and was able to look up my membership without issue. My dad and I waited a couple minutes to be directed to a tasting bar where Sam was our server. Sam is a new server (there since April) and he followed very closely to the script he had learned. My dad and I enjoyed the wines and the bites. The Meritage and the Cab Franc Reserve surprised me with their mellowness. My dad got a glass of the Raspberry Merlot at the end and we sat outside while he drank it. Very nice visit.

After visiting Fabbioli multiple times over the last three years, I finally opted to join their wine club. I made this decision on my most recent visit and I am very happy about it. The lady at the register was super patient with me as I asked questions and she explained all the practicalities of the transaction. Part of the reason I was finally doing it was that I have visited 175 wineries in Virginia and Fabbioli's is still my favorite. What better place to join the wine club at. My tasting was great as I was with a group of other wine club members and I had an awesome server who really knew his stuff. The Perry, the Una Pera and the Pear Port were by far my favorite on the tasting menu as I am not a white fan. So go and enjoy great wine.

The $15 tasting was well worth it. They even had gluten free options for me! All of the wine was good, but I have a soft spot for the tannat. I will definitely go there again.

Visited 3 wineries in the area today this was the first. Where Fabbioli was better: one on one personal attention from Lori who was great, small bite food pairings, stools to sit on (only one of the three that did), water to rinse. So little things but they added up to make for a much more pleasant experience. I never felt rushed or that we were an after thought.

We are newbies when it comes to wine so I won’t rate it there. We did buy 2 bottles to go.

We love to be pleasantly surprised with the creative pairings that really bring out the best in these very good wines. The special treats this time were a Rosa Luna with a pumpkin butter on salty cracker and a Chambourcin with Rosa Nera cranberry sauce on a cracker. We left with the usual latest adds to the wine cellar, including a nice pear-in-the-bottle pear wine and a jar of unique pumpkin butter. For Thanksgiving, our family enjoyed a homemade Rosa Nera cranberry sauce (they shared the recipe by email) with an Inglenook Rubicon. We love Fabbioli, we miss Dennis, and these guys really know how to show off the best of northern Virginia wines!

We had a wonderful visit to Fabbioli Cellars. The venue is beautiful. Our wine tastings are paired with "bites" that really give you an experience with the wine and food. Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend a visit to this location.

I've been a Fabbioli fan for 5+ years now, especially the raspberry merlot. However, I went to the tasting room with my family last fall and was sad to see the experience had changed. It had been several years since I went out to the tasting room, so i'm not sure when the atmosphere changed, but it did. When you walk in, you are queued up for the tasting tables. Waiting in a waiting room to go in. I understand the challenge of wineries in VA--trying to manage a lot of people especially on nice weekends can be difficult. However, it didn't feel accomodating, it felt pretentious. And $15 for a tasting is pretty pricey--even with the small bites. In my opinion, walk in and buy the wines you like or think you'll like (or buy them at one of the local farmer's markets), and skip the tasting experience.

Fabbioli’s has several wines worth tasting. They do food pairing tastings with their wines. We tried 7 wines for $15. After our tasting we sat outside & shared a bottle of wine. They have separate seating areas, adults only or families with children under 21 which we appreciate.

My husband and I stopped here first on our way to Luray, Virginia for some sightseeing and wine tasting and we very pleased!! This was definitely our favorite winery of the weekend (and we tried quite a few). It is worth the drive to say the least. I was taken back at first at the $15.00 per person tasting fee, but by the time we left ($210.00 later) we knew it was worth every penny. EVERY wine we tasted (including the white which we normally do not like) was amazing and we had a hard time leaving without purchasing several bottles of each kind. I think we will be taking a road trip every few months just to come down and purchase their wine since PA will not us ship it to our home. The wines were wonderful and the story of the winemaker's good will in the community and to other local winemakers had us hooked. The fact that the wine is very close to organic was very refreshing as well. The food that was paired with each tasting had been very thoughtfully selected and the presentation was A+. I must add that the rasberry port and the regular port are worth every cent of the $35.00 they cost. I would recommend this winery to anyone who wants a great wine tasting experience!!!

We’ve been to this winery several times now with friends and family. Tastings are particularly fun and include simple food sample pairings which demonstrate how different wine/food combinations affect the taste palate. Tastings often have some theme related to cultural or social happenings (e.g. we were there for a Dr. No themed tasting). There are also comfortable seating airs to enjoy a bottle of wine upstairs or outside close to the vines.

I've been familiar with Fabbioli for a few years. Doug Fabbioli does a fantastic job at creatively crafting unique wines. The raspberry dessert wine is a must-taste. The Rojo red is fantastic with any food and at a great price.

It's worth a trip to partake in a tasting at the vineyard. Make sure to try the Pear wine!

Out of about 20 winery visits and tastings in five states, this is by far the best tasting experience.

We tasted 6 wines all very good. Each wine had an individual snack/appetizer to go with. The appetizers, themselves, were wonderful, many made with local fruits and ingredients, each appetizer designed to bring out the best wine with which it was paired.

The cost for the tasting and appetizers was $15, well worth it.

The tasing was in a very new, spacious, and beautiful facility, with an individual tasting table for each group.

Although I think of Virginia wines as being relatively expensive, 3 of the wines we tasted were $22 or less (including a very interesting Asian Pear wine).

Each month the winery rotates the wines in the tasting and the appetizer/snacks.

This was our first time here, and we were not disappointed. It's $15 for the food and wine pairings, but worth it. Good quality wine and food.

My friend and I just wanted a glass of wine, not a full tasting. We wanted to sit at the gorgeous curved wooden table, but were told that was for people doing tasting only. We were shuffled upstairs to an uninteresting are, overlooking the wintered vines. Nothing special. Wine was ok.

Returning from a trip to Lucketts Design House we spotted the sign for Fabbioli Cellars and said, "Let's Go!" Hidden away down a winding unpaved road, this winery offers excellent wines in an attractive setting. I chose to skip the wine tasting and opted instead for a glass of "Something White" to enjoy on the comfy lawn furniture. This winery leans pretty heavily in the direction of reds and while I enjoyed my glass of white, I've had better white wines elsewhere. I purchased a bottle of the 2011 Cabernet Franc to enjoy at home. I can see why they favor reds here. This was a really good, tasty red with a mild finish and nothing bitter lurking. Well worth the visit. We will return and have the red next time! This is a great place for couples, friends, and family who enjoy getting together in the outdoors with a nice wine and some snacks. You can also take a tour of the vineyards and farm. We did not have time the day we visited, but plan on taking the tour when we return.

Amazing service, wonderful wines. I've been there three times and each time I've had different pourers who had interesting tid bits about the wine and process.

Go for the raspberry merlot, and stay to hang out and enjoy the tasting pairings, cool vibe, and great outdoor area. They focus on the environment and locally-grown, right down to the asparagus in mustard sauce on our wine-pairing plate (grown out front). The $10 fee includes 8 samplings (a lot!) and a choice of savory or sweet food pairing plate, to help educate and inspire. My husband and I ordered one of each to better appreciate the offerings. The chocolates were AMAZING and were prepared by a local chocolate artist working on getting her own retail space, but in the meantime, her INCREDIBLE Aztec Heat truffles are available for purchase in the front store, along with other treats, like the mustard, and of course, the wine. Presentation is not lost on them, and their pear wine is sold both on its own, and in a cool bottle with a pear inside (great for gifts). Groups should make reservations in advance- a bachelorette party were clearly having a good time. We will be going back when family come to town to visit- who knew, Virginia really can produce a terrific wine.

What a great addition for all of you wine lovers. I've been to many wineries and vineyards in my time but this is the first one where I was asked to "check in". Upon check in, you are welcomed by friendly staff, nice decor, and a cozy feel to their new upgraded tasting room. You check in and are either asked to sit in the main waiting area (one upstairs as well) for a tasting session to open up or you are seated right away if one is available. The tasting is $15 for the flight which is about 7 wines and is accompanied by bite size treats perfectly paired with each. You are seated around a bar table with your own personal tasting expert who is there to answer your questions. The table can accommodate about 6 people so if you are a smaller group, you may enjoy the tasting with others. The wine is one of the better wine selections I've had in that area of Virginia. The pricing of each bottle is average. The grounds are big and nice for a summer occasion but still nice in the winter just the same. Highly recommend and would return.

Winery was very scenic and the staff was very friendly. Wines were very good. We enjoyed the petit manseng. Tasting was $15 which included a small plate of food pairings. After the pairing we enjoyed sitting at one of the picnic tables and having a glass of our favorite wines. Great experience.

We loved our tasting with Brian. The winery is adorable. The wine was tasted with a food pairing. We actually enjoyed all of the wines. This is a great place to visit.

This one is a little bit expensive but does come with a food pairing which was nice, you could taste the effect it has with food. The wine is a little on the expensive side $20-$95. The expensive one has a piece of fruit grown into it. Staff was friendly but all the wines were a little on the sweet side for me. Overall enjoyable just not my flavor.
