This is a lovely place for a walk!! Sunsets can be amazing an the food on the pier at shucks is yummy! Always fun to talk to the people who are fishing! Also a good place to catch the fireworks for the 4th

This place is pure perfection. The kind of perfection that makes your whole being of body and mind flood in pure joy. The community of Fairhope and the groundkeepers here have made a small slice of heaven on earth. Gah, I can't say enough at how amazing this place is. You must experience this place in person. Take a walk, because you won't regret it.

My family and I had lunch on the pier. The views are amazing. I would especially recommend sunset for a visit1

The pier was a great site to visit. I really enjoyed walking to the end of the pier and sitting there watching the water and getting lost in thoughts. I sat there for 30 minutes alone enjoying the scenery and great weather. The walk from downtown to the pier was a great way to unwind!

Nice, quiet pier, very peaceful. The park next to it is nice, too. Not many people this time of year, and the landscaping around the park is pretty.

The waterfront park is lovely. Plan time to walk out on the pier. You can see Mobile across the bay.

The Pier is the central public gathering place in Fairhope. It's not elegant or glitzy, it's like the rest of the town -- natural and inviting. There is a decent sized park adjacent to the pier for picnics or walking. Given western horizon over the Bay of Mobile, be here for sunset.

Marvelous place to go for a walk, watch the sunset and smell the roses (there's a rose garden the parking area encircles). Watching the sunset can be done from many vantage points here on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay and this is one of the bests!

This spot was great and offered alot. There is a pier with bathroom and resturaunt and boat slips. The view was amazing and you could see Mobile across the bay. Great place for sunsets. There is a park and beach close by, also.

Nice walk to the end of the pier. Great place to watch the sun set, or watch fishermen and Fisherwomen feeling in their catch, or watch Henry's the pelican's shenanigans. Nice way to end the day.

Easy walk down through the park like area, there was a band playing bluegrass music, families and couples walking by the fountain. Pier and restroom are clean. Close parking and wide paved paths.

You can spend the better part of a day at and around the Fairhope Pier. Starting in the morning you can fish or watch those who are fishing. Of special interest is a small group using cast nets. Try throwing one and you'll hold in high regard anybody who actually catches fish using it. There is usually a group of Tae Chi practitioners mornings in the park south of the pier or on the adjacent bluff. You can enjoy the large and diverse rose garden at the base of the pier. It is lighted at night and exemplifies the commitment of Mayor Kant to keeping the city beautiful. There is a paved waking trail south of the pier parking lot. It offers views of Mobile Bay and plantings of indigenous trees and shrubs. There are benches along its length and it is totally accessible from the start where there is parking for persons with disabilities.
At the end of the pier is Shux, a new restaurant run by Rick Gambino of Gambino's fame. I've not eaten there but noted a special service offered by Rick to customers who have limited mobility: he operates a long wheelbase golf cart type vehicle to carry you from the parking lot to Shux - and back.
An almost unique event is the sunset viewed from the pier. You are at water level and the bay looking west is wide enough to virtually obscure the far shore from view. As night falls the sun, progressively growing fatter in shape and more amber in color, sinks into the water until it begins to flatten, shrinking and then suddenly disappearing. There is the possibility of a Green Flash if the atmospherics are just right, but I've not seen one.

Is great for walking. Walk to the end of the pier and back and you've had a decent workout. The is a restaurant and bar on the pier. On a clear day you can see Mobile across the bay.

Beautiful Municipal Pier and Park at 1 Beach Drive located at the west end of Fairhope on the site of the city's commercial pier ([dating to 1894]. The park has benches, duck pond, restrooms, marina, restaurant, picnic area and much more. Be sure to schedule your time so you are on the pier when the sun is setting and have your camera ready. You will be glad you did!

The pier and surrounding area is a very nice place to hang out and relax or take a walk by the bay. Some people were fishing as well. Worth a stop if you're in the area.

Spent some time walking up and back and in the park by the pier. Everything is clean and well maintained.

If you enjoy birding, looking at the water, and viewing the live oaks, then this is the place to be. Parking is limited in certain areas. During peak times of visitation, explore other options for parking. Nearby are restaurants. The area is well-maintained. Some of the adjacent roads are very tight. Depending upon the type of vehicle you drive, you may not be prohibited to make some of the hairpin turns. Be aware that this location is not a part of a grid pattern.

Walked on the well maintained pier a couple of mornings. It is a shame that businesses on the pier are vacant. It was heart breaking to see 5 sunken boats in the harbor, destroyed by 2 recent storms. I did enjoy water view, pelicans, and cranes.

A beautiful view of Mobile Bay. We watched a lightning storm off in the distance from the end of the pier on a warm late summer evening. Then we noticed a chilling phenomenon, packs of people including couples with babies in strollers were hunting Pokemon with their smart phones! So, great people watching too, I guess.

We really enjoyed this lovely park and the azaleas were in full bloom. It was warm enough to walk barefoot along the beach and feel the water lapping over our feet. We saw lots of pelicans on the wharf and it was ok that there were no businesses open at this time of year. It was a very relaxing spot. Many people were arriving to view the sunset, the perfect spot for it.

What a great place to walk. The pier is very well maintained. It goes a long way into the bay. There is a good restaurant on the pier. There is a beautiful Park next to the pier. There is also a marina as part of the pier. Sunsets are spectacular. You won't be disappointed!

The place and the pier are beautiful very clean excellent vibe. My husband and I were visiting the area and decided to stop and photograph the sunset which was breath taking, we sat on a banch for about 40 minutes and it was very relaxing and awesome!
The surrounding area has more to see. There is also a restaurant on site which was closed when we were there but we are sure it will be a great place to seat and enjoy some food while there.

Free parking, plenty of room, nice and relaxed place. Good stuff!
There’s a restaurant and bar halfway out that even provides take-out. A lotta local amnience.

The Fairhope Municipal Pier or “Town Square” as its known offers some of the most beautiful sunsets available. I always enjoy taking the Family to the pier, not only for the view, but conversations with local anglers and the wonderful restaurant that’s located there as well.
If you come to Fairhope, you must visit this location.

The pier is really nothing to talk about. It is just a pier. However, there is a restaurant called Shucks on it that I highly recommend. The food was great, the prices good and the people were amazingly friendly and helpful.

Fairhope Municipal pier is a great place to visit top relax and even go fishing. The sunset is always beautiful.

Used to watch the fireworks here on 4th of July but love coming just for a stroll just the same such a peaceful spot

Went at sunset tonight and the view was terrific! Joined by many other folks who came to look, but not eat at the restaurant on the pier.

Beautiful day on the bay. After a quick lunch made a stop by the municipal pier. Listened to a little jazz and enjoyed the late summer weather. Not very crowded and definitely a place to relax.

Great for a walk - is the icon of the Fairhope culture. There is a beach and several different walking areas.

Take a stroll on the pier, talk to the locals fishing on the sides, eat at the restaurant or smell the roses in the gardens surrounding the fountain. There is a playground for kids and a beach area. Lots of benches to sit on when you want to rest or just enjoy the scenery.

We loved walking this pier while we were visiting. One night we watched a spectacular sunset and the following day we got to see some dolphins swimming along

What a wonderful place to watch the magnificent sunset over Mobile Bay, wet a hook, put your toes in the sand and converse with our friendly locals. Great area for food, walks, bike riding, beach cookouts, kayaking or just sitting on a bench and recharging your battery.

The Fairhope pier is lovely, but what i like even more are the two public beaches stretching north and south from it. Also, the history of the pier is pretty (go to the downtown historical museum).

My husband took me to Fairhope for my birthday. Beautiful views and walk down the pier. The fountain nearby is gorgeous! Worth the trip.

After reading some of the reviews here, I would suggest going in the off season and not in the summer. We visited the first day of December and it was very peaceful and beautiful, the weather was perfect and there was none of the chaos described during the summer months. If you're a movie buff at all this was the location of some of the scenes in the movie Our Friend

We brought the kids down by the pier to enjoy a sno ball, walk around a bit, and take in the scenery.

LONG pier. Beautiful experience. We had never been here before I'm glad we stopped by. Lots of people enjoying themselves fishing and simply taking in the view. The pier had a restaurant and those coming out said it was great.

I’m a native of Mobile, Alabama. Our father use to take our family crabbing, fishing & swimming since we were kids. We spent many days on the Mobile causeway and Fairhope Municipal Pier & Beach. Fairhope Pier has beautiful sunrises & sunsets overlooking Mobile Bay. On a visit during the Mardi Gras season, I came home to visit my siblings. We went fishing on Fairhope Pier and met some new friends. They tried to help us take Our fish off the hook. We were told by Fairhope natives that they are regulars on the pier (2 Pelicans). We had a relaxing morning catching fish & enjoying the company of our 2 new friends. The cool breeze coming off the water was refreshing too. Hope you have opportunity to go & watch the beautiful sunrises & sunsets.

The pier is one of many stops that supports Southern Living choose of this Al town of 15,000 population as best small town in the south! Fairhope Municapal Pier is one of the best public spaces to appreciate Mobile Bay

Oh my driving down the 98 and a sign said scenic route and decided to take it, so many times we have said how lucky was that. This is heaven on earth, what a fabulous town and riverside area. Peaceful, romantic, that quiet place that we will remember for a long time. Just sat and drank the view in. One of the hidden gems of our holiday.

Nice area to relax and enjoy the beauty of Mobile Bay. Restroom was very clean. Parking is easy and there are benches as well as well as picnic tables scattered around the general pier area.

This is a great place to view the sunset and walk along the Mobile Bay area. A walk out on the pier is great. And walk along the beach area.

I love this area of Fairhope, the pier is nice, so is the pic nic area and the small beach area. We came over here in the evenings to eat dinner and just hand out and watch the people fish. It was very relaxing...

The Fairhope Pier has the best view of the bay we were able to find. There was a nice area to walk, a neat looking restaurant (we didn't visit, but it smelled good), and it is very romantic at sunset.

Although it was a windy day for a walk on the pier, we still had a great time. The view is fantastic from the pier. No charge. Bathrooms available part of the way out.

What a nice attraction for Fairhope. This pier has such a nice parking area and is really kept up above average. The pier also has a restaurant and bar about midway out, so that is nice too. Also they have restrooms on the pier, another nice feature! Go and see it and enjoy it like we did! Great place for sunsets too.

Beautiful day for December, so took a walk halfway out on the Fairhope Pier. A few were fishing, some just walking and actually no one on the pier with a dog (which they are not suppose to be on it). The restrooms could do with cleanings. Also drink machines did not work. There is not a restaurant on it anymore. Also, it is a shame that the few boats there look as if they have been there years, I guess never leaving the docks. If they cleared and cleaned that up, they could probably rent all the slips. Just needs work there. But was nice to walk out and enjoy the view toward Mobile and the beautiful weather. Would like to go back and fish sometime.

Our family enjoyed our walk to the end of the pier and back on beautiful Mobile Bay. It was a gray and drizzly day, but the air was so refreshing. Love Fairhope this time of year.

The city of Fairhope is beautiful in itself but this gem is the icing on the cake. Breathtaking view of the bay and of mobile. Great spot for many occasions.

Beautiful and peaceful. Nice for a walk or picnic. There is a restaurant but, apparently, was unable to open after quarantine. Shame because beautiful location.

The Fairhope Pier is widely used by walkers, gawkers and anglers. The herons who stalk the dock for fish scraps are usually up for a photo and can be a little aggressive looking for goodies. It's a great walk, very beautiful and there are limited bathroom facilities. There are also benches along the way if you need to rest or just want to absorb the views. Make sure to read the messages left on the benches by loved ones.

We've been there when it was a bit chilly and pretty windy, not much going on. Went again when the weather was better and really enjoyed the area. Took a leisurely walk out and really had a good time watching the people fishing, lots of action! Good way to spend several hours on a nice day, almost forgot to mention, it's free!

A lovely place to take a walk and see nature. The pelicans are especially enjoyable. Live close so get to go often.

The Fairhope Pier and park is a gathering place for locals and visitors. It is a beautiful view of Mobile Bay, with a beautiful fountain and flowers as you enter the park area. You can take your dog on great walks here and there is a beach area for sun bathing. At night, you can walk to the end of the pier and watch local fishermen. The restaurant on the pier unfortunately is not that great but has some good outside views. And the sunsets here are magnificent.

What happened to this place? The reviews are terribly wrong, at least judging by the time I went. The area is disgusting with so much dog poop that you can't even walk on any sidewalk or in the near grass. I don't mean a little dog poop I mean covered every square foot of it. The sign says no dogs on pier, there were an endless number of people walking dogs on the pier. I know that I will only go back after someone has taken responsibility and cleaned that nasty place up and forced others to obey the signs about the dogs pooping everywhere you walk. I witnessed 6 people let there dogs doing it no longer than I was there. Disgusting.

This place is beautiful. Nice beach area not crowded very peaceful. The pier is long and a nice walk. There is a seafood restaurant out on the pier.

Beautiful place to visit. People were so friendly and understanding. I have a small, energetic child and it was great to get out and walk the pier. He absolutely loved it and was in awe the whole time. Great place for a family to go! We will be back to the beach there also. Way less people than Gulf Shores. More of a family atmosphere.

Don’t miss a stroll on the pier at sunset. The gardens and fountain are beautiful, the perfect place for a photo. There was plenty of parking. It was fun to talk to the folks fishing off the pier.

I love coming here. I LOVE the rose bushes and the pier and we always take long walks and lots of pictures. Everyone is always so friendly. It;s so beautiful and relaxing.

Nice clean scenic little park and pier. My wife and I grabbed some food at a local cafe and brought it down to the park for a pleasant lunch. We were surprised that not many people were enjoying it at the time.

I have been to the pier on many trips to Fairhope through the years. Day or night, it is beautiful. I highly recommend parking, taking a walk, and enjoying the wonderful view. It is one of our family's favourite spots to catch a sunset or enjoy a walk.

The perfect place for watching sunsets! Also the perfect place to take a leisurely walk along Mobile Bay. A rare few sometimes happen upon a Jubilee in the summertime. Bring your camera if there for sunset...it's one of the top places in the US to capture the best pictures!

We were there on Christmas Day and encountered several people who were all courteous. The pier is almost 1,500 feet long and it was fun to walk out and see the view.

Love the Fairhope Pier, especially early morning. Go out to the end and watch the sun come up on the landside. Especially after a storm. Peaceful and serene.

Other times it can be a bit busy. Walkers and families and those fishing. The restaurant and ice cream shop midway out is a pleasant stop; and a small gift shop, too.

Pier also has public restrooms. And even a couple of Geocaches. (Geocaching.com)

Great sunset views of Mobile Bay with the lights of Mobile in the backdrop. This is a hidden gemstone. Fishing (license required) and a tiny marina. Restaurant that seems to come and go and will hopefully reopen soon. No skateboarding or bikes but tons of people watching opportunities.

Nice place for a walk and a picnic! You can walk out onto the pier and they also have benches along the bile path.

This is an excellent place to have a lovely picnic. So many places to stretch your legs or let the little ones move around. I wanted to give this 5* but the public bathrooms weren’t clean and can be quite far away depending on where you setup. There was easy parking for all size vehicles and paved road right along the sand making the dreaded “beach march” with sand toys and coolers very short and convenient.

Sunset on the pier was brilliant. Nice park and relaxing walk, even has a restaurant (SHUCKS) on the pier.

The pier is adjacent to a park with very limited vehicular access making it a pleasure to walk around. Pier faces west so would be a good place to view the sunset.. Apparently, the former pier was destroyed by a hurricane - the present one was built from concrete and should last.

You can't visit Fairhope without a trip to the pier. There is always lots going on depending on the weather and the area is clean and well-kept with beautiful roses near the entrance. It's a great place to take a morning stroll or take in a sunset. Never disappointed with the views!

Our family watched the sunset on the pier. Wonderful place to take photos.There was even a brown pelican that hung out with us.

There is a restaurant at the end with a oyster bar. The water was a little ruff and the bottom was churned up but it was a nice spot while in town

We drove by while in Fairhope and really enjoyed a short walk along the water. I would recommend if you are in the area.

The boat launches (2) were very nice and adequate. Parking for vehicles WITH trailers was generous. However, if you are there for fishing or just a nice sit by the bay, you aren’t in luck if you need a parking space. Only 2 or 3 to be had. The only handicapped accessible space is for trailer only. There were extra spaces in the dirt by the launches for non trailer vehicles. Restrooms were adequate but dirty. Small beach area beside boat launch. Sheriff’s deputy stayed all day on and off to ticket people parked in trailer parking. He was polite and told several where to move to keep from being ticketed but beware nonetheless.

Great place for a walk. Go and see what they are catching or bring a fishing rod and try it for yourself. Cheap entertainment for everyone.

Went to the pier after dinner. Enjoyed seeing some people fishing and stayed for the sunset. It was beautiful. Well worth the walk.

We are visiting in Fairhope and in walking distance of the pier. You can sit on one of the many benches and watch the sun slowly make it's way on the horizon. The colors are amazing. You can also walk down the pier to the end where it overlooks the bay. If you're lucky, you will see one very special pelican that is a local favorite. Most peaceful!

A great day in Fairhope would include a walk on the Fairhope pier ! The saline smell of the water, the fresh clean breaths of air as you walk down the pier to the end. The delight in watching children and others throwing in a line to catch fish from behind the railings, and when they do, the walkers on the pier rush to see what they reel in! And once you arrive at the distant end of the pier , there is usually a pelican or two to greet you! Not officially of course, they are just waiting for a treat from the fishermen! If you make it past the restaurant on the pier , without going in, you will definitely want to enter on your way back down the pier. The aroma of fried fish, shrimp, and oysters will lure you in! Not to mention the key lime pie to satisfy your sweet tooth! Try it... You will like it!

The pier is definitely worth seeing. It was a beautiful, windy day. Many families were present and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was very clean and the views from the pier were spectacular.

As nice as any other municipal pier as I have seen. Well kept, clean and selfies with Pelicans! Offers numerous spots for fishing and seining for bait. The restaurant had not opened yet that morning but other pier walkers told us the food was very good. The park at the front of thepier was well groomed - be sure to read the concrete sidewlks.

The Fairhope pier is a choice place to relax and stroll in the sunshine, or sit and watch the bay boats. The flowers and fountain are always relaxing. This is a place easy to appreciate with family, friends or a special individual. Enjoy wildlife, a meal on the pier, fishing, the great view and breeze. Very nice to enjoy in the evenings.

This was a nice surprise on our visit. Plenty of free parking and no charge to go onto pier. A few folks were fishing and there was plenty of room for it. Some seating at benches along pier. There is a restaurant on pier and a marina as well. There is a lovely park along the waters edge as well with a sandy beach.

I just stopped by for the sunset. The park and surrounding area was really nice and well kept, especially since it was only a few weeks after hurricane Sally. There were plenty of places to find a quiet spot or seat to relax.

This pier was a wonderful treat, especially after throwing back some Mexican cuisine. After trekking the trail and seeing a mulberry tree and other petty cool plants around the walking path, we strolled over to explore the Fairhope Municipal Pier. The walk on the pier was peaceful and breezy. I even met the pier's pelican. Sat on one of the plethora of benches and just took in the sights and sounds of Mobile Bay. The sunset their is spectacular and a must see. If you are ever in the Mobile, Daphne, Spanish Fort, Fairhope or even the gulf shores areas, this is a must do.

Beautiful area. Visited a craft Show that's here every other Sunday all year long. Beautiful hair bows and unique jewelry. Lots of cool vendors. Will definitely go back!

If you are looking to see a beautiful sunset this is a great spot. There is a small beach and a little park with bathrooms. Don't expect to get any mileage in because it's a pretty small area but worth a stop.

Great place to stroll and just relax. The sunset was just starting but we had leave for dinner reservations. Many folks were just hanging out, fishing and just enjoying the weather. Nice place to picnic!

Walked the pier for something to do. Should have brought the fishing poles. The pier is well kept and a really nice area.

We walked around the pier area and enjoyed the shade and view from one of the benches along the sidewalks. There was a grandfather with his grandson fishing off the bank and there several families with children casting nets and fishing with poles walk. Strollers past us along our stroll. Everyone was enjoying themselves and the day.

We went with a picnic and are so glad we did. The pier is nothing special and doesn’t allow pets, however the grounds around it are well maintained and gorgeous. The flowers attract butterflies and bees and the roses were blooming and colorful. The fountain was clean and the sound very relaxing. We really enjoyed the herons landing near us and the secondary pier with sea birds converting it. The restroom on the pier was a bit wet however useable.

At times you may need to hold onto your hat, but it's a great place to take a long walk above the water.
There are restrooms if needed and a restaurant if you're hungry, not quite halfway down.
There is a beautiful fountain at the center of the parking lot that circles around, as well as a walk up to eatery at one end of the lot.
Dogs are not allowed on the pier.

This is a must stop if you're in Fairhope. Take a stroll around the rose garden and out on the pier. Early morning and late afternoons are really nice.

A beautiful way to start iron end the day ...or any time for that matter. Gorgeous Mobile Bay, a stunning fountain, rose garden and paved walking paths. Benches for sitting and watching the passing parade of visitors which range from stroller bound babies to senior citizens with every age in between represented, including serious fishermen and athletes in training. Free parking. Safe, friendly environment.

Beautiful pier. Great for taking a walk to see the water. There is also free parking and a Oyster Bar on the pier.

Fairhope's Pier has been the town's most significant attraction since the colony was first settled in the early years of the last century. The older piers succumbed to age or hurricanes. Ivan and Katrina banged this one up a bit but the city has repaired the damage and the pier remains immensely popular. There's a lovely rose garden and fountain in the circle drive in front of the pier. A decent restaurant on the pier, a small harbor for recreational boats and crabbing piers.

Great local place to see the local fishing & walk the pier. We saw sea life. Restrooms on the pier are a help.
Fishing stations could use a little regular cleaning to prevent flies if people would just use the provided hoses.

Tak3 a beautiful walk down the pier with a view of Mobile across the bay. Enjoy watching the fishermen casting their nets. Pelicans always there putting on a show, close enough to touch and get a spectacular close-up picture. Evenings present gorgeous sunsets, friendly people and a good restaurant for dining or enjoying a cocktail. The huge fountain at the entrance of the pier is surrounded by hundreds of colorful roses. A visit to The Pier in Fairhope should definitely be on everyone’s list of sights to see.

What a beautiful pier! We had a lovely time wandering around the park and pier. It is so well maintained and has washrooms available. Everyone we met was friendly. Wonderful part of Fairhope.

We made a couple of stops here while we were on vacation once in the morning and once at sundown. It is a very calming place, and the people were very friendly to talk to. The kids enjoyed watching the people fishing from the pier. Shux on the Pier is also here, we didn't have any of the food but it smelled great. The only problem I found was the bathrooms were not real clean either time we visited and no walls or doors for the stall in the mens room. Because of the bathroom situation I give it 4 out of 5

We arrived in Fairhope at dusk and went to the beach to watch the sunset. First we sat on a neighbouring pier, watching the birds fishing and the fisherboats go out. Then we took a stroll on the municipal pier, which was nice. Good way to spend an early evening in Fairhope. The restaurant didn't appeal to us.

This is a beautiful area right on the water. Lots of parking, and places to eat and picnic. This is a lot to see , but the best is just relaxing on the benches on land and pier and watching birds, boaters and the beautiful water!! So calming!! The is a beach down from the parking lot but did not venture there... maybe next time!!

For years we have enjoyed taking a sunset stroll on the pier. It's always nice to see people fishing and crabbing as well as watching fishermen throw cast nets. It's especially nice to see kids participating in the activities

The best time to go to is at sunset. It is one of the prettiest places to watch the sunset. The fishing there is pretty good as well. There is also the pelican at the peir restaurant which is fantastic! It's just moments outside of downtown fairhope. You can also see swans, geese and pelicans as well!

Lovely views of Mobile Bay. Great parking and not crowded. Lovely parks closeby and two casual restaurants. A great place to see the skyline of Mobile, views of Mobile Bay, and take a nice walk outside

When you're sitting around with nothing to do, the pier is always a good destination. From the rose garden out front to the walking available not only on the pier, but in the immediate area. Also a great place to show off to out of town guests. Great place view or sunset or get great sunset pictures.

Beautiful Bluff area park and Pier. Lots of folks out for a stroll on a sunny mild day. The gulls were chatting, the loons were swimming by and a big brown Pelican greeted us from his napping place on the rail. There is ample parking and looks like the pier eating place will open soon with improvements. Only a couple folks were fishing. Fairhope is by far one of our favorite towns as we travel throughout the USA.

This whole spot in Fairhope is to be enjoyed ,the pier, walking trail,the Vista is stunning and when that huge American flag is flying it just makes you smile

We walked from downtown Fairhope to the Bay and out on the Pier. From the end you can fish or just enjoy the views as we did. You can see Mobile in the distance across the bay.

This area of Fairhope is really beautiful and well maintained. Nice place for a walk. Benches along the way to sit and watch the bay. Definitely a relaxing outing.

Visited the pier after dinner to watch the sunset behind Mobile. Fun to walk out onto the pier to see what the fishermen and kids are hauling in. There are plenty of benches near the parking area to watch the sunset. There’s a swimming beach there as well for day time fun. There’s a decent amount of parking but it can get crowded at sunset.

We were in town house hunting from Madison, so this was our first visit to the pier. Parking was abundant on our Sunday mid-morning visit. Not sure what the cause was, but the restaurant was shut down and a "for lease" sign was posted, so no restaurant. It was a nice stroll out to the end with scattered fisher-folks fishing.

Pleasant place to enjoy the view, people watch, dine , fish or stroll. The pier is clean, has well-placed seating, a fabulous seafood restaurant, and friendly people who are quick with a smile and a "Hello". Parking is convenient, the area is nicely lighted, and the fountain is a lovely welcome.

Our first time here! I had read about it online and it did not disappoint! The view is gorgeous! Just had a family day here and enjoyed! Henry the Pelican was there when we came and that was a special treat! One of the local fishermen shared his fish with us so our family could feed Henry! great place. will definitely come again!

Always a nice place to go for a walk and watch people fish from the pier. There are also bathrooms just in case :)

My son & I stopped here on a day of adventures as he hadn't been here yet since we moved to this area... he grabbed a cone and we saw a pelican at the end of the pier. We didn't see any fish being caught and it was kinda overcast day but warm. The pier restaurants sells hard scoop cones for $2 too!!
There are little walk down areas to get you closer to the water - for the fishermen I believe and a young fellow was waiting on his girlfriend to ask her to marry him - how romantic! There is a nice fountain at the pier and a big park up the hill - also the public beach is right there - loads to do! Parking can be challenging... public bathrooms but limited.

During our visit to Fairhope we went every morning to the Pier. We enjoyed just sitting and also walking. The view is lovely. The people are friendly. It is a wonderful place to have your morning coffee, do your morning meditation, and talk a walk or read. It is a time to enjoy people after these months of Covid.

I'm so glad I made time to visit this pier, and did so as the sun was setting on Mobile Bay. The long pier offers a good stretch of the legs, and aside from one low-slung restaurant, isn't cluttered with commercial businesses that would otherwise detract from the bay's natural splendor. At the end of the pier is a shelter whose iconic silhouette is reproduced on tee-shirts all over town -- it marks a resting spot, a place to view and reflect, before heading back to the beach as dark descends. Just as I approached the end of the pier and returned to the parking lot on this evening, a slight movement in the shadows revealed a tall blue heron, enjoying the emptied beach. Perfection.

The water is beautiful, sand is white. They have lots of picnic tables and a play area for kids. Nice restaurant on the pier. Beautiful scenery. Plenty of trees for hammocks. Only downfall is the price to get into the beach.

We got Panini Petes to go and enjoyed a beautiful lunch overlooking water and pier. Duck pond in park was beautiful!

Always beautiful views of the Bay. An easy walk to the end of the pier. A lot of sea birds, love the pelicans. You can even fish from pier if you like.

The wide pier is a favorite for walkers, couples strolling to see the sunset, fishermen coming to get catch, parents with children, strollers, elderly holding hands, and side piers for crab traps. There is something for everyone in this beautiful nature spot. Pelicans and cranes land on posts and seem undaunted by their frequent interaction with humans as they hope for a morsel of fish. The circular rose garden at the entrance is another draw of nature's beauty, the bayside walkway, the public park, and the view from the bluff - all make this a must see when you are in the area.

We took a nice long walk down the main drag and out on to the pier. The sun was shining and it was gorgeous. It was a little bit windy once out on the pier, but we were dressed for it. :D

Park by the Bay's edge and walk out to the end of the pier and be sure to chat with the folks fishing to see what they've caught. My favorite time is any fair day at sunset. Just sit on the bench and watch the sun set across the bay in the west. This is a very relaxing place and the other visitors are always friendly. Sometimes you can watch the sailboats come and go.

Fairhope Municipal Pier is a great place to view Mobile Bay, watch the seabirds and catch a breeze. The area has good parking, nice gardens and the pier stretches a long way out into the bay so you feel surrounded by water. People fish, relax and take in the scenery. There are docks so it's fun to watch the boats come and go. It's free, there are bathrooms. Nice place to spend the early evening.

This is a great place to stop and walk around. The roses were in bloom and smelled great, and the fountain is beautiful. It offers a good view of those gorgeous sunsets over the bay, too!

I lived in Fairhope, AL 30 years ago as a teenager. Was dying to go back and see how things have changed. Walking on the Fairhope Municipal Pier and the smaller Orange Avenue Pier was like traveling back in time. Nothing has changed. The quaintness and beauty of the place has remained untainted. Even the little hamburger and sandwich shop that I remembered by the pier's parking lot is still there and operating!!

This is my go-to place for relaxing and taking in the beauty of the Mobile Bay. Lots of park benches, walking paths, and the pier is open for free. Plenty of parking too!

The pier has fishing, rental boats, kayaks, water volleyball and is a great place to take photos of Mobile Bay. Gambino's opened a restaurant which is pretty good as well.

We drove over from Gulf Shores for the day and did some shopping and eating and ended the day with a walk on the pier to watch the sunset. Absolutely beautiful. Very clean. Enjoyed reading the history of the pier. Also thought the benches along the pier were pretty awesome...each one had a memorial or dedication to someone.

The sunsets are spectacular any time of the year. A great place to be quiet and reflective. And there are always pelicans.

Enjoyed walking on pier. It was a nice day with good views all around. Also the grounds by the pier very well kept and walking trails along the water enjoyable.

A friend and I brought our 3 teenagers her to pass time. We enjoyed our visit. We walked the pier and had icecream. The storm was coming in but it did make for some good pictures. After we walked over to the beach part and sat and watched the sun go down.

Very pleasant walk along this pier. There is a picnic area and a small beach. There is also a small restaurant which was not open when we walked about 10.30 am. Plenty of parking. Spoke to quite a few fishermen and locals.

There was an awesome pier that was just rebuilt after the hurricane and it was so relaxing to sunbathe and enjoy the breeze.

They cleaned up the pier and are getting ready for the Blind Tiger food bar at the site. Great condition, but they need to remodel all bathrooms immediately.

We drove down to the pier and got out to take some pictures. We were a little disappointed that apparently the lights were not working. The American Flag was not lighted and there was no light on the fountain.

The pier is very close to downtown and a nice walk through quaint neighborhoods. It has a lovely park and fountain. There is also a sand beach we did not know was there until we were near the pier. Lovely view, walkway, and well maintained.

We love visiting the pier, the roses and the park with the geese and ducks. This is a very relaxing stop no matter where you choose to walk, or you can simply ride through the park and then walk the pier.

The pier in Fairhope is just down the road from the town center. The surrounding area is a lovely park and a great place to relax, walk the dog, or simply view the pier and Mobile Bay. The view is especially lovely at sunset.

My wife & I were spending a rainy day driving the road along the bay and decided to stop here. Loved the rose garden in the parking area and enjoyed our pier walk! Pier was clean, had public restrooms, a restaurant & bar about mid-way and a beautiful view of Mobile Bay. We'll return when in this area again and hopefully catch a bonus - a pretty sunset from this location.

A great spot to just sit, relax and look out at the bay!! Fishing from the pier is exciting to take part or watch! Shux on the pier is a great place to eat also!! You definitely need to visit at least once!!

Went on a trip to fish Mobile Bay so we had this pier on the list. The fishing was not the best but will have to admit that there had been a tropical storm in the gulf that had the water messed up. If you want to take a kid fishing this would be the place because we got no telling how many catfish and croakers. Should be able to keep them busy. The pier is in a nice area. Had a lot more sightseers than fisherman. Well constructed with a cement path instead of wood. Very well lite and seemed to get more crowded after dark. Note that you will have to have a fishing license. Not like some piers where you pay and are covered by the fee.

Local pier, close to downtown shops. Even when it’s crowded, it’s really no. People in the area are very friendly.

We spent an hour before sunset watching people fishing, sailboats and kayaks having fun. Enjoyed the sunset immensely, beautiful location and nice municipal pier.

Whether it be a family outing a romantic lunch or a wedding photo opp. This place is beautiful and clean if you turn right when you get there there is a long road with beautiful scenery and waterfowl ducks and such even a bridge over the creek perfect for photos and very relaxing I love that place and I am a photographer

When visiting Fairhope, be sure to take a walk along the bay. The pier offers great views of Mobile Bay as well as Mobile in the distance. Be sure to enjoy the fountain and rose garden, too.

We live the Fairhope pier area. The view is very beautiful, especially at sunset. Located down the hill from town the pier is fronted by a lovely rose garden and fountain area along with some nice public beaches. The pier itself is wide and ling making it a perfect spot to walk and watch the fishermen.
Kayaks, paddle boards, and pontoons are available for rent from the quirky restaurant on the pier, Shux. Our favorite pieces if the pier are the benches donated by locals along with heartfelt engraved names and quotes for whom the benches are given.

The pier had convenient parking and made for a nice evening stroll. It was fun to watch families fishing and one pelican obviously enjoyed posing for photographs. Sunset over the bay was lovely.

The pier is a wonderful place on the water. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view and it is close to the bay front parklands park. A short walk from down town.

The pier itself is such a delight but sadly it seemed like it had been a very, very long time since the women's restroom was serviced. I will spare the gory details but it was beyond offensive to the point I believe it was a health hazard. Shame on you, Fairhope!

Just beautiful, we wanted a quiet peaceful getaway and we pick the perfect place , everyone was so friendly and we could have enjoyed it more . We will definitely be back again

Nice walk. Rose garden in spring is wonderful. If you’re in lick in late April, you’ll see thousands of purple martins using the bird houses on their migration north from South America. Come watch the fisherman cram the pier during the full moon.

Went to the pier to watch the sunset. What a beautiful area. I have not been to the pier before. Will do this again when I visit my daughter next.

Looked the pier up on my phone and went down there for the first time. A fun spot to watch the fisherman at the end of the pier. Got lunch at Shucks and enjoyed the fountain which was dyed pink. (assuming for breast cancer awareness) Also a nice little stretch of beach to walk along and a pond with tons of geese.

We went there to catch the sunset and we were not disappointed. Very clean and plenty of benches to sit on. It was a wonderful evening with a nice breeze. They had a place to get a snow cone which capped off the evening. Definitely a must visit!!

We were there for the July 4th fireworks and had a wonderful time and they were great. It was a very family oriented time for all that were there and very safe and the children all around us loved it. A very nice place to visit and especially at sundown to watch the beautiful sunsets. Also to see Mobile across the bay is nice.

You can't go to Fairhope without going to the Pier. And at sunset each day, it seems the locals rush to the pier for the beautiful sunset, so join in that, too!

Fun to walk out and see the moored boats, look back and see the shore line. Has an oyster bar on the end, good for a cold beverage on a hot day.

This pier extends West into Mobile Bay and provides a beautiful stroll. It can be windy so dress appropriately. Before you start on the pier, take time to enjoy the beauty of the Rose Garden that is maintained by the City of Fairhope. The fountain and ever waving American flag provide a great backdrop for pictures. There is a restaurant about a third of the way along the pier with outdoor seating available for nice days. There is also a small craft marina and at the very end a great fishing area..

Very safe pleasant way to spend evening, watching the fisherman, sunset, or the seagulls. Lots of sidewalk to get your exercise..or sit on a nice park bench next to the water and just chill

Beautiful! Had dinner at Shux one night...sat on the beach and watched the beautiful sunset the next night.

We were able to walk around a bit before rain forced us inside. Nice clean area with great views. We did however notice lots of geese droppings. We have this around the lake in our area, not pleasant, but a necessity I suppose. We’d hoped to spend the afternoon here. Hopefully, we can return soon.

Easy walk from downtown to the pier to view the sunset. Not overly crowded and dog friendly. There used to be a bar/restaurant on the pier but I think it's either closed or downsized to a very limited menu.

A great place to go with a beautiful view of Mobile Bay. The wooden pier is about 1,448 feet long. Nice to walk on and also watch the locals catch some big fish. The friendliest people are out there and will greet you with a smile followed by a 'How y'all doin'?' True Southern Hospitality! If you are looking for a nice romantic place to go...this is the place! The sunsets are phenomenal!

I highly recommend taking a stroll, brisk walk or jog on Fairhope’s Big Pier...you will enjoy seeing fisherman bringing in their catch, while pelicans, blue herons and seagulls hang around to catch a possible windfall... people watching is also a fun past time there.

We went there each day of our 3 day trip. Approximately 1450 feet long, the pier is an excellent place to enjoy the scenery of the bay, wildlife and meet some friendly people.

You can eat dinner, get a snowcone, fish or just watch people fish anytime. The beach and park area are very nice also.

For our Anniversary, we had a walk during dusk (shortly after a fine dinner at Thyme -- see separate review) which is always perfect during Summer along the Gulf Coast. The weather was especially cooperative that night, and between the sunset, the lapping waves, the cool breezes rolling in, the friendly parkgoers, and the just-dark enough lighting, we found it the most romantic public area we've ever been to in years. Kudos for the city of Fairhope for keeping the park so well-maintained and beautiful.

We have been to the pier/park/beach often in the 10 months since we moved to Mobile. Its a real Jewel. Lots of free parking. Beautiful long beach bordered with pine trees. Plenty of benches and picnic tables. A lovely grassy park. Beautiful sunset views. And of course the pier. Almost 1/4 mile long with plenty of space for fishing, etc. There are several toilet facilities also.

We are locals and LOVE the pier. It's great for a long walk, surrounded by the beautiful Mobile Bay. The scenery is second to none. If you have a dog, the pier and adjacent park area are perfect for a canine stroll. If you can catch a sunset from the pier, you will never forget it!

This is a lovely place to stroll, catch a sunset, and relax. The surrounding water was alive with jumping fish and there's a charming pelican who will steal your bait.

This is a lovely place to take the kids for a few minutes or an afternoon The pier is a great place from which to fish or just take in the bay. There's a small restaurant and ice cream stand on the pier, and restrooms! The sandy beach alongside the pier is a great place for a picnic or a swim.

My wife and I walked the pier just about every morning of our 5 day stay in Fairhope. The park is nice with lots of people walking and getting some exercise. Got a chance to fish off the pier loved it. Caught a few crockers and some different species of catfish. I also caught my PB catfish at around 3 pounds off the pier. I would recommend this place if you are ever in the area.

Nice, but still shows damage from the last hurricane. So, you just need to be aware. Also, the restaurant that used be open is closed. So, I would be aware of the damage and judge accordingly about your visit.

This is an exceptionally long pier. Halfway out is located Shux restaurant. The parking lot has some shade and there are picnic tables and there is an extensive trail that runs thru the park. The park has a large fountain and nice plantings. Several fishermen were out at the end.

We were very impressed with this long pier that reaches out into Mobile Bay. It’s a nice walk out the end watching people attempting to get an exciting catch. There is a lot of construction being done on the pier, but it is still accessible for walking. Additionally, a very nice park and walkway along the shore is inviting for a stroll on the bluffs.

The views were phenomenal!! Enjoyed our walk! Kids loved meeting the pelican. The weather was great!

We ate at Shux on the pier and the food was great and the view was awesome - very casual and fun atmosphere!

This is a very peaceful peir, If you want to dine there is a good pace and you can get a free ride, after eating you can agsin walk to the end of the pier and stop to request a ride back to the parking lot. An excellent sunset view

This is great place to enjoy an unlomited amount of time. Bring comfortable shoes and a desire to socialize. Show up and you find an amazing representation of Gods creation and the human race.

The town, its people and its pier are perfectly charming. Even in their winter it was a busy spot and it was evident that the thoughfully provided washrooms needed attention to repair lighting and replenish supplies.

Walking out the pier with good visibility offers panoramic views of Mobile Bay from Dauphin Island to Mobile. On a nice day it's a very pleasant diversion.

I recently partook in a 5k walk here. It was really pleasant. The pier was well maintained. It's got benches, bathrooms, shady areas, fish cleaning stations, a little snack bar...basically everything you could need on a pier. Throw in the breathtaking views from every angle and it's surrounding parks and you can have a great day. There's a duck pond, playground, and a resturaunt right there.

We drove down to the pair where there was plenty of parking. We were hoping to be able to buy a coffee on the pier but they didn't open until 11.00am. We walked out to the end with a cool breeze blowing into the bay. Just lovely. The garden and fountain at the entry to the pier were also just magnificent.

We always enjoy our visits here. I especially like watching the geese & other water birds, and we both like walking around the area. The beach has clean white sand & the water was smooth; too cold to swim but nice just to watch. There is playground equipment for the kids. Don't miss it.

About one quarter mile in length. Really nice for a stroll. Always some people fishing to watch. Supposedly nice restaurant, but all I can vouch for is the beer at the wonderful bar.

This town in its self is a must visit! The pier is nice as is the location around it. We saw dolphins while at the end of the pier!

Beautiful pier that goes 1/4 of a mile into the Mobile Bay. Watched a lot of fisherman bringing in fish as well as the pelicans were working the crowd for food. Great exercise with a wonderful view.

People came from everywhere to sit in the park area ..even a yoga class being held on the hill ! Everyone was friendly & welcoming. As I said above Beautiful, peaceful & relaxing !

Beautiful park and pier. Well worth a walk from downtown Fairhope to experience Mobile Bay. A restaurant is on the pier but we didn't dine with them.

Used to spend a lot of time at the pier but kind of got busy with the rat race. I still think your in an entirely different world when at the pier. Cares and worry escape you in this world.

Great place to catch the sunset. I come here every evening, it’s very peaceful. You got a nice little restaurant called Shux on the pier also. A nice quiet little park and sidewalk to ride your bicycle. On the other side of the pier you have a little beach to enjoy.

Such a relaxing walk to the end of the pier. The bay breeze is invigorating. Had a cocktail at Shux. Wish I had my fishing pole!

Wouldn't swim here, as the bay is gross, but the views were beautiful. With the pier and park, along with the long wooden docks, there was no shortage of photo opportunities. Love it!

We love the view across the bay. My son could wade in the wade and we could have our dog close but not on the beach.

This is a fishing pier. Nothing out of the ordinary. There is a park next to the parking lot but the cost is ridiculous. A small park with very few amenities and a $10 entrance fee. The pier is nothing special. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the spectacular sunsets which can also be seen from the parking lot.

If you EVER have the opportunity to go to Fairhope, you have to stop by the Pier... The views are amazing - especially at sunset. I'm from the west coast of Southern California, and the sunsets in Fairhope are BETTER! God loves to paint in Fairhope!

Nice view of the Bay..beautiful sunsets 🌅. I always make a point to visit the pier on my travels to and through Mobile, Fairhope, Foley and Destin, FL.

Nothing for the family to do at all. This is one of the finest views not only along the Eastern shore of Mobile, Alabama bay but possible one of the best views along the entire Gulf Coast. Whether you are a young couple visiting on a vacation or a resident walking down for the view. There is nothing to do. You can walk down to the end if the short pier and back and then walk to the end of one side of the boardwalk and then walk to the the other and then that’s it. This place has soooo much potential and come to find out there had been nothing done whatsoever to improve the attraction of this wonderful place. If you have a family, young ones or teens, there is still nothing to do and it has been this way for years. What a shame. There could be so many neat and exciting attractions added to this location and after asking about why there isn’t, we where told the lease is locked up by someone who could careless about making the tourists that visit the beautiful town of Fairhope, Alabama from having a better experience. So sad!!!!

A lovely spot in Fairhope. Great parking but no beach. The restaurant on the pier is pricey but great. There are restrooms on the pier. It's long and has a lovely view.

It is not the largest pier we've enjoyed, but it is extremely integral to the fabric of Fairhope's attractiveness and many civic activities.

Nothing special. Just a pier with a restaurant on it. I guess if you was going to fish it would be ok.

We took a ride through Fairhope to see the Christmas lights and drove down to the pier. This is a very scenic park on the bay, there is a restaurant on the pier that we may try next time we visit. We watched the sun set and drove through town to look at the Christmas lights, which were very pretty in all the trees along the roadside.

If you enjoy piers. This is a very nice area. Plenty of parking. Good area to take a walk along the bay. Restaurant on the pier was closed when we were there.

The pier is a great spot to catch the sunset! It's convenient to most things in Fairhope. I rode a bike there from my cottage which was located in the Point Clear area.

Fairhope Pier is one of the most beautiful I have seen. Sitting on the Mobile Bay, you can see the city of Mobile, Dauphin Island, and beautiful scenery. The local fishermen keep you entertained at the end with their catches. Nice fountain and an island of rose bushes. Nice walking paths. Must visit!

It’s a pier and the experience depends on what you’re trying to get out of it . Me and my boyfriend decided to make it a romantic one . We gazed at the stars , pointed of the Big Dipper , read the informational signs. It was great . But there where people there fishing and just hanging out with friends so it’s all about what you want to get out of it . My experience was great !

We enjoyed a quiet n peaceful walk on this pier Early n the morning n not many people. The breeze n the waves were very relaxing

Nice walk on Pier! Sunset beautiful. they also have great parking. Beautiful fountain in the middle surrounded by rose bushes and right next to public park. Nice sculptures and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view!

This is worth a stop to enjoy a pleasant stroll on the pier. There are lots of benches along the pier.

The pier has nothing special. Nice walk into Mobile Bay. Watch the fishermen and enjoy the warm breeze coming from the water. In the distance one can see the skyline of Mobile. Unfortunately the little restaurant is closed since a while. Hope it comes back soon.

This is my favorite little beach. Its about $6.00 to park and it is well worth it. They use the funds to keep the area clean, and there is a bath room, plenty of garbage cans, picnic tables, parking spaces.....very nice. A pier with a restaurant. Very close to town for shopping.

Great place to get out near sunset. The fishermen on the pier enjoy discussing what they are catching. The view toward Mobile offers a great sunset. Bring a picnic for dinner or eat at the restaurant on the pier.

Nice spot, but it's just a pier. It was hot and windy on our visit so my experience may be skewed. The sunset photos others posted are beautiful and my daughter enjoyed shaved ice that we bought on the peir. Not sure I would hurry back but it's nice we went.

Great place to watch the sun set over the water. Easy access and the people there were friendly and polite.

A beautiful enclosed municipal harbor. The harbor opens to Mobile Bay up the Bay from Pt. Clear and down the hill from lovely Fairhope.

Throughly enjoyed the visit to the pier. Fun to watch both the people and the wildlife. The rose garden provides an added touch of color.

Great family place to visit. On a normal sunny day you can see people doing all kinds of activities such as fishing, sunbathing, walking dogs or just out for a leisurely walk. Quiet park area to drive through or stop to have a picnic lunch with a beach area for swimming if warm. No lifeguards on duty. There are ducks, birds and all kinds of wildlife, signs even warn to not feed the alligators. LOL

Beautiful view off the pier and a uplifting downtown shopping strip. People very friendly. Beaches quit and peaceful.

Decided on a whim to visit the pier to take a walk with my sister after we'd spent time shopping in the nearby downtown area of Fairhope. It is an iconic gem that exudes lots of Southern charm. There were several others out walking and enjoying the clear views and nice weather for December. It is a great place for photos of the sea and shore. I even tried out the fifty cent telescope. As others have mentioned, there is a restaurant -didn't try it and bathroom facilities that were very well maintained.I'll definitely go back to relax if I'm in the area again.

Beautiful with many birds and trees. The pier was damaged by the hurricane and the restaurant on the pier is not operating at the moment. But we will be back. We love Fairhope!

Sunset was beautiful. Pier offered dining and more. Nice beach area for small kids, playground, and clean public restrooms. Very played back feel and not crowded. Will definitely come back.

This is a fairly long pier which made for a nice stroll. Not at all crowded. Few fisherman were fishing. There is a restaurant on the pier but it wasn’t opened. Lots of construction going on so you can only access the pier from the right side We walked to the pier from downtown but be warned it’s downhill and the walk back up was a bit of a struggle. There is a parking lot but because of the construction parking was limited. Definitely recommend visiting.

The pier and park adjacent to it in both directions is a tremendous place to go and relax, walk and just sit. The beaches are also right there. Parking is all around. There are lots of seats on the pier and around. The little restaurant is a place to eat, but we used it for ice cream to go. Loved it. The gem is this is the place to watch a sunset.

Off the beaten path is where you will find Fairhope, Al. A great place to spend time with family and friends. This is a beautiful place.

If you like the quiet of the bay and a view of the horizon filled with seagulls, then this is your place. An excellent photo-shoot location.

I came to town to do a video interview, and ended up in a grassy area near the pier. I was so pleasantly surprised to see these amazing grounds that had picnic tables and a curvy walkway. It was heavily treed, so the lighting for the video was great. I watched some people working out, walking dogs, doing yoga and just socializing. They community is lucky to have this place

The pier is clean and has a restaurant there to eat at which we didn't do. There is also a little shuttle to take those who have trouble walking to the restaurant.

Shux restaurant had great food and perfect view! Inside was much like an old diner but the deck offered real feel for being on the water.

We enjoyed walking out onto the pier and taking in the beautiful views. Nice that there were bathrooms there as well. Parking lot area was filled with beautiful flowers which apparently Fairhope is known for.

Ya gotta love the pier! Busy yet tranquil. On a stroll to the end of the pier you will see of course the beautiful Mobile Bay, see and hear the sea gulls and other birds flying about, also children playing, older couples walking hand in hand, locals fishing and crabbing and sailboats both a sail and moored at the marina/restaurant. Here you can get a nice meal or a drink while you overlook the bay or back at the Fairhope Cliff and the park beneath. If you don’t want to walk out on the pier you call walk around the rose garden and enjoy the fountain. There’s also a small walking trail and a more challenging hike up the stairs going back up the steep bank. There is also a shore side park with picnicking, swimming and if you want to feed some ducks you can do that too. The pier is a great place to spend some quality time and a great place to watch the sunset.

The view of the bay is fantastic, you can sit on the benches and watch sail boats or possibly a cargo ship or the cruise ship coming or leaving Mobile. The city has a fountain there which is beautiful. Although allowed there, the swimming beach is no like Gulf Shores.

It was late afternoon, very windy and overcast when we walked down to the end of the pier. We were hoping to see a sunset but it wasn’t to be with the large gray clouds. We spoke to several people fishing but they reported not much biting except catfish. Lots of waves and winds made cast difficult.

The view of the sunset is simply spectacular! Be sure to get there early so you will have a place to park. The sunsets fast!!

Relaxing spot to visit. People were fishing or just strolling on the list of sitting on the welcoming benches. A beautiful sunset too!

We loved spending time just sitting on one of many benches along the pier..the breeze was delightful..people were fishing off the pier or just strolling a baby.. The sun..the bay waters..yum..try it
