What a beautiful Park with something to do for everyone! But the best part of this park is the Park Ranger, Sgt Simms. She went above and beyond when we needed to find a place to park our RV for the night. Can't wait to visit again!

After spending a day in a car, we decided to try out the trails at Forest Park, and they were excellent! They have plenty of trails/paths to choose from, so if gravel paths through the woods or wooden boardwalks are not your thing, they have paved paths and concrete sidewalks. And if trails aren’t your thing, then I’m sure you can still find things to do! Look up all the fun things that are available! We didn’t have enough time to do more than the trails, though we have visited the Zoo here before and recommend it!

I was at Forest Park most of the afternoon on Saturday and on Sunday this past weekend. I had lunch with a friend at the Boathouse and we visited the Art Museum. On Sunday we walked at FP with different friends.
Walking around the park you see picnickers, family reunions and people playing golf, soccer, baseball, softball, handball, racquetball, rugby and frisbee. There are many people taking in the zoo, history museum, art museum or eating at the Boat House.
There are walkers, bike riders, rollerbladers and runners. Any of these folks could also be transporting a small child. There are special events held regularly at FP. Festivals of every description call FP their home.
Outdoor theatre such as the Muny Opera and the Shakespeare Festival attract fans to FP. There are probably more wedding photos taken at FP than any other venue in St. Louis.
Parking can be an issue, particularly if there are multiple events that overlap. If you plan your visit in advance, a review of a map may help find alternative parking that’s just across a mowed field.
Forest Park is a treasure, and much of it is free!

I've been fortunate to travel a great deal and there is NO other public park in the Country that compares. From the golf courses, to the Muny Opera, to the Zoo, it is one incredible feature after another. Top Star Rating

The park is beautiful and very well kept. There are multiple things to do here and parking was not a problem even though it was busy. A nice place to spend an afternoon with family or just to relax.

It happened to be 99 with about 80% humidity the day we were there. We did the zoo and enjoyed our time there and then went to the Olympic Pavillion. This park is amazing and I hope to go back some day and do more.

Rain or shine, the Park has something for everyone. Check out the zoo, the museums, play the golf course; its amazing.

What a beautiful park! Twice the size the Central Park NYC and oh so clean! There is much to do and see within the park, majority of it is Free! There is s history museum, Art museum, boathouse ( rentals available at reasonable prices) cafes, visitor center, Muny( HUGE outdoor area for playscetc, a Zoo ( all reviewed separately) the list is endless or so it seems. There is a trolley within the park ($2. For all day service) that will drop you at the places you choose to visit. Use it or you ll be sad you didn’t. Weekends are very busy and parking in many areas is chaotic, limited and did I say Chaotic! Park along the roadways and jump on the bus, bills are OK, pay onboard.. but no change can be given! Driver will give u a pass to use for day.
My Only true complaint was inefficient Signage and lack of descriptions thru out the various areas/everywhere ( at the zoo... I knew it was a XYZ animal... but where is it from, what’s its history/purpose/status in the wild...) , or at the Worlds Fair Pavilion.. no exhibits, nothing? Just an open building with bathrooms and being bus dropped in the middle of it, we thought it was an “exhibit”.
Limited signs to direct you from one place to the next, if not for lively people we met along the way to direct us, we d have walked much further in the wrong direction.
And we walked that hot day we visited..
wear ur walking shoes..
Honestly, even the Metro has very poor signage.. is it a St Louis thing, lol??
Park is lovely, extra add Ins within venues as expected but mostly free!!! Enjoy

Visited for the Balloon Glow was just amazing, well organised and great facilities, cannot wait until next year.

A nice place to walk, drive, or stop for an adventure. It is a small piece of nature in the middle of the city. The zoo is free and amazing. The art museum is free and wonderful.

Wide open spaces and so much to do. Definitely, worth a visit if in STL. The zoo, boathouse, art museum, and MO history museum are all in the park.

Spent the AM at forest park, ice skating, walking, and then hitting the planetarium as well the science museum. Great space and activities for families, and best of all the planetarium and science museum are free.

This was the site of the 1904 World's Fair, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, who also designed Central Park in New York City. It offers sites for cycling, picnics and there are many outdoor concerts in the summer, not to mention the world class zoo, outdoor musical theater and science museum, all with free admission. Arrive early and you can even find street parking.

We were starting the night in STL and we were looking for something to do with our 10 year old daughter. We wanted something outdoorsy, but also wanted to experience something different in STL. As I was browsing Forest Park came up, and we decided to go. I figured in the very least maybe we could get a walk in. We were pleasantly surprised to find a natural playground. It was a beautiful setting and there were tons of rocks, logs, trees, and tree stumps to play on. My daughter had a blast!

A Gem of St Louis with plenty to do, Art, Zoo, History museum all free, how can you beat that. And plenty of free parking..

This place is massive. It would take days to see it all. The zoo is free and has reasonably priced food and drinks. The parking is $15.00 or if your lucky you can find street parking. The views of the park are great and it would be a great place for a picnic or just relaxing. Too many things to see in one day.

The explorer bus that takes you to all forest park attractions (including Art, History museum, Science center, Zoo) is FREE for Saturday and Sunday. There are two routes (Green and Blue) lines. You can hop on/off for FREE (as of September, 2019). Very convenient and time saving. You can park on one location and use the bus.
I would recommend to park at Visitor center, so that you can take either of green/blue lines.

Forest Park is located in the center of St. Louis on 1,326 acres (5,370,000 sq. m) of land, and the park is so huge, that it can be somewhat hard to comprehend its dimensions, when viewing and describing the vast parklands. Forest Park is stunning.
The park opened to public in 1876, and it hosted several important events, including the 1904 Summer Olympics. Nowadays there are many attractions in the park: St. Louis Zoo, History Museum, Art Museum, Boathouse (restaurant and boat rentals), The World's Fair Pavilion, Visitor and Education Center, to name a few.
The park grounds are well maintained, the information on various sites, directions and services is clearly displayed, multiple hiking and biking trails are popular with visitors, and pets are very welcome to enjoy the park. Tennis courts, golf course, handball and volleyball courts are available for visitors activities.
The World's Fair Pavilion (opened in 1910) on the Government Hill of the park offers some spectacular views of the lakes, prairies and wetlands.
Many cultural events are hosted by the park -- the Great Forest Park Balloon Race, various music festivals, the Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis, flower shows, outdoor concerts. About 13 million people visit this grand park every year.
We spent about an hour in this fantastic park, walked around, explored the grounds, talked to some local visitors, who all love this park -- we, too enjoyed our visit to the beautiful Forest Park very much!

A large park with many things to do and see. We stopped at the visitors center and walked through the park viewing the variety of artwork, buildings and views. Beautiful vistas - a great place to stop and visit.

We stopped at this site of the 1904 World's Fair. It is a huge park full of things to see and experience. The Zoo. The Art Museum. The World's Fair Pavilion. But for me, an LA girl, the fall colors there were the most exciting attraction. Loved the trees and I must say, it was an emotional experience for me.

This is a really nice park that is well kept and it very large, several hundred acres in Forest Park, near the city zoo and ice rink, it has lake in it, trails, parking, museums, you name it all kinds of activities available. Very neat and clean there. I have never felt threatened so no safety issues for me.

If you love walking in beautiful parks you can't get a better stroll than this. Worth moving to St. Louis for. Includes a Zoo which may not be PC for some.

You can view all the seasons and all types of fauna at this park. The more you visit the more you will love it. What a gem in the heart of StL!

We have enjoyed the amenities of Forest Park for many years. Considering that my knees won’t allow jogging anymore, I play the golf course. The facility is normally in great shape and can be challenging. After an outing, we get together for “19 hole” refreshments in the lounge; good times. I would provide a higher rating if it was located elsewhere. This borders a high-crime area and one must be aware as a matter of good judgement.

What a gem. Bob did lots of geocaching while I rested at art museum. Jewel Box was special. No idea who paid for all this. I would go back for others. Noticed nothing open after 5. Unsafe?

One of my favorite places on earth, this park remains one of the prettiest I've seen! We eloped here on a sunny, May day. Beautiful to walk through and experience. Will continue to visit just as I have in the previous years.

Not our first visit but has been several yrs to pay a visit. We love this place!! From a pond/lake where you can dine or rent boats to taking a stroll along forest paths, to riding bikes on trails to visiting a free zoo or admiring paintings in a free museum housed in gorgeous architecture leftover from a worlds fair, to golfing , to fountains , to playing games on massive green space, to picnicking, to just watching the statues stand tall as the world goes by this place is just hard to beat. Dont miss if you are in downtown St Louis area. What a treasure.

On only our second visit to St. Louis (both times in winter), this was the first time we made it to Forest Park, courtesy of the locals that were driving us around. It was winter weather with snow on the ground and frozen ponds. However, you still could get a good idea of the extent of this park even in bad weather. Our driver had a good handle on the history of the place and filled us in on the events of the past. It didn't take much imagination to picture this place with spring/summer greenery. And, the size of the place seems to rival Central Park. It's definitely a place we would like to see in the spring or summer.

We only had short stay and mostly around the pavilion. Lovely park, would have stayed longer if the weather had not been so hot.

Beautiful park in the center of it all. The zoo the Muny the Science museum the attractions go on and on. Site of the 1904 Worlds Fair.

One of the largest city parks in the country, Forest Park boasts dozens of fabulous venues and experiences - many of which are FREE! The zoo, history museum, art museum, science center, and walking/running trails all have free admission. And for a little money, you can ice skate, tee off, play tennis or handball, fish, paddle boat, eat, or watch an outdoor play. The park is host to balloon festivals, 4th of July celebrations, softball tournaments, and many monuments and statues. It is also a great place to sit and read by a waterfall, or lie in the grass soaking up the sun, or throw a football around while you grill a hotdog. I have spent many happy days in Forest Park.

The zoo, art museum are must see.
Beautiful park with great remnants from 1904 world fair.
Takes several days to see all the park offers.

Forest Park is a great place to spend the day with family, friends or solo. There are 2 golf courses, the zoo, art Museum. Also they have paddle boating and sledding at Art Hill in the Winter. Have fun.

The Museum was very nice and educational; and the Park was tranquil and beautiful, great for walking, jogging or biking. The 100 years Muny outdoor theater closed for the season.

I mean, the entire park is beautiful! Full of museums (FREE!!!) and the best Zoo I've ever been to. Wow! You won't be disappointed.

This park is beautiful. There are so many activities available to families for free! I am so impressed with St. Louis for providing this to the community! It is clean and safe.

We took the metrolink and walked about a mile to one of the entrances. All the museums and the zoo are free so there is plenty to do all day. The even have a trolley for $2 that gets you around the park (it is a very large park).

If you have time left to relax go here. It’s beautiful, just to walk around or go for a good a picnic or whatever you feel like. There is the zoo to go to or the most beautiful museums, something for everyone

From the (free) art museum to the (free) history museum to the (free) Shakespeare performances in the summer, to (free) shows at the Muny, there is always something cool going on in Forest Park. Balloon glows, the zoo, the trolley, golfing, sports fields, Paddle boats, and more. Great for dates, family outings, or just because. Parking is free too. What’s not to like?

Beautiful area for a picnic, walk, etc. There are many areas that you can enjoy with family or friends. Usually there is always an event on the nice weekends to enjoy or surrounding areas, within walking distance, are all fun to visit.

It has been several years since I used to come to this park frequently and was amazed at the updates and improvements. The park is beautiful with lots of walking trails, scenic views and various flowering plants. I was there yesterday on a cool, dreary October day and the park was so peaceful....people enjoying their Sunday afternoon strolling, wedding parties getting their pictures taken against the cascading fountains, couples walking with strollers, people jogging with their dogs. Dogs are not allowed off lead at this park and of course their is always that one person who thinks the rules don't apply to them-one individual was letting their dog run all over the trail which made it less enjoyable for those of us who abide by the rules and keep our pets on lead. This park is a must see if visiting St. Louis.

Just lovely and relaxing if you can take your time!! They have musical evening so investigate for the best night to do it all !

Finally decided to visit Forest Park after dozens of trips to the STL to watch ball games and we were not disappointed. So much to do, so many museums, a zoo, paddle boats, bike rentals and just lots of green space/walking. We spent most of our time in the History museum where a display of Pulitzer Prize winning photos takes your breadth away. All the museums were free too, and it’s just a safe block from light rail. Worth many more return visits.

Went here just to relax and kill some time before a Cardinals game. Lots of good walking and people watching.

The park looks like a great place to visit and has miles of roads with free parking on both sides. We arrived at 1 pm on a Saturday and was unable to find parking for a compact car for several miles and could not stay.

We drove through here and stopped at a few places to enjoy the weather and views. Go to the Visitor Center as a first stop as they have tons of free information about the park, its museums and the volunteer was so helpful. Museums are free and there are many places to park and picnic. Safe. Friendly people. We saw 4 weddings photo sessions in progress. Just a lovely place all around.

The Zoo, the Muny, Balloon races, jogging, Art hill for sledding, Ice skating, races, bike riding, boat house and boat riding, Art museum, so much more!!!

What a huge beautiful park. Wish we had more time to explore. Great activities in park with a very helpful website.

I'm a lifelong resident of St Louis and have been visiting Forest park all my life. It is an absolute gem and is even better in recent years... So many fun and free things to do...the new nature playground, the history museum, the zoo, the boathouse restaurant, the art museum the muny(free seats for high quality musical theater) .....you could spend multiple days here with the kids and spend nothing....there isn't anything like it in other cities . Definitely visit !!!! Just the flowers are absolutely beautiful.

Great park - lots of things to do and see - St. Louis should be very proud of their parks! Wish we could have spent more time there...

We had a family picnic in Forest Park. The City has done a great job of revitalizing this treasure. Beautiful park!

Perhaps my favorite thing about St. Louis is Forest Park. So much to see in do it cannot be experienced in a single day. If anyone makes a quick trip to St. Louis for the first time, I would suggest they find a hotel near Forest Park.

Forest Park has it all. Many of the city's cultural attractions here ( Art Museum, Zoo, Planetarium/Science Center, Outdoor summer theatre, history museum, ice skating in winter. Plus lots of Nature for walking, biking, etc. A Jewel.

Everytime I come to St. Louis, I spend time at St. Louis. There is an incredible amount of things to see and do. Love the Art Museum and Shakespeare in the park

We went to the zoo and all the museums. It really did takes us a full day to do it all. Lots of walking, but well worth it.

Loved the zoo. All the animals seemed happy except the big cats. The food was good and not crazy expensive. The flow is the zoo was great band helpful for feeling like you’ve seen everything. The Art Museum is walking distance from the zoo and free. Definitely worth going.

Just drove around here to go to the zoo, but it was sold out on reservations. Neat place to drive around and took some pics.

Wow I was do impressed with this park. It was absolutely stunning and well taken care of. And there is so much to do in this park, the zoo, museums, boat rentals, golf course, running trails, you name it this park has it.

open and beautiful spot for a sunny spring or fall day. Summer can be awfully hot though so plan accordingly.

Beautiful property with so many things to do and see. Love the band stand and the museums. Something for everyone. You need longer than a day to appreciate all it has.

This is a very nice park - it is very large! A great place to walk or run. Note: There is major construction happening at one end so a section of the path is closed

Well…. It is such a beautiful park… my boyfriend decided it was the perfect place to propose.
I obviously highly recommend a visit:)
It’s a huge park, like Central Park in NYC. Endless trails, zoo, art museum… it’s stunning. We bought tickets to the Wild Lights at the Zoo and couldn’t have been more impressed.

Forest Park really came into its own with the 1904 World's Fair held in St. Louis. Unfortunately, time and the lack of financial resources of the City of St. Louis took its toll on the Park. A non-profit, Forest Park Forever, came to its rescue in the late 1990s and have done an amazing job of fixing up the park and adding many attractions. Any and all visitors to St. Louis should spend some time really enjoying the Park.

Forest Park consists of over 1,300 gorgeous acres. A wonderful group called Forest Park Forever, has returned the park to it's former beauty. It was the site of the 1904 World's Fair and unfortunately, only 1 building from that era remains. It is the St. Louis Art Museum. Almost all attractions within the park are Free of charge, which is a huge plus for young families. The Zoo ranks 3rd in the US and admission is also Free, which is unheard of in this day and age. Food is available (albeit a bit pricey) and most people pack a lunch to eat at one of the many picnic tables. You can usually find free on street parking in the area surrounding the zoo, if you get there early morning, or late afternoon (when tired families are leaving) otherwise there are adjacent lots which charge around $15 for the day. The Zoo is open year round, and there is always something to see, even when the weather is inclement, as many of the exhibits and animal houses are open and warm. Another attraction which can't be missed (and is also free, except for some traveling exhibits) is the Missouri History Museum, which houses an outstanding collection of World's Fair Memorabilia, as well as a tribute to Charles Lindbergh, a history of early St. Louis, and also the St. Louis Muny, (an outdoor theater with over 11,000 seats). The top tier of the Muny consists of Free Seating, and is a fabulous way of spending a summer evening, but you must get there by 6:00 to be assured of getting one of the free seats when they open at 7 (pack a light dinner and a few folding chairs to pass the time).Parking is free!

One of the top parks in the country. Excellent museums, zoo, golf course, and bike/hike trail. Also wonderful rugby type fields, hand ball courts, and more.

Forest Park in St. Louis has so much to offer that if you are a native or a tourist you can spend so much time here. There are nice bike trails, golf, tennis, boatrides and so many other things to do in the park.

Such a beautiful park. The Muny, Scrience Museum, The wonderful Jewell Box, Art Museum, The Gold Course, The Tidal Basin, walking paths, fishing lakes and so near all of the University Hospitals.

Words cant explain what a wonderful oasis this is in the middle of the urban core of St Louis. A free Art Museum, a free zoo, 27 holes of golf, miles of hiking paths, beautiful landscape - much larger than Central Park. Spending a day here is the best big city experience I have ever felt.

I just started running, but this place inspired me so much that it wasn't difficult at all. Over a week I jogged through most of the park and even around it (5.7 mi) and it was truly beautiful.
While there is lots of shade be careful not to try exercising after 10 in summer as it is really hot.
And if exercising is not your thing, check out the museums, war memorial, or the zoo. And many of them is for free. With summer theatre in the Muny maybe you should plan for a whole day and night

The attractions in Forest Park make the city a great place to visit. The zoo is a must and one of the finest I have ever seen. The Botanical Garden is world class! The St. Louis Art Musuem is good but not in the same league with many of the the fine art museums in New York, Chicago, Boston, LA, Washington DC. If you have time it is still worth a visit. The Missouri Museum is quite interesting. The Science Center is good but not in the same class as ones in Dallas, Washington, DC. etc.

We had the St Louis Zoo on our itinerary and decided to walk from our hotel (Chase Plaza) through Forest Park. The 40-minute promenade gave us the chance to 1) work off some of the calories gained on our 5,000-mile road trip and 2) sensory-ingest the beauty and tranquility of this urban oasis.
Truly striking was the transformation from the big city traffic/noise of Kingshighway to the pure quietude just a block or so away from the road. Another world in the space of about 50 yards!
St Louis is lucky to have this geographic gem and we hope the citizens will continue to nurture and support for centuries to come.

I moved to St Louis a year ago and the most enjoyable times I’ve had her were in Forrest park. With the many venues of free activities such as festivals, the hot air ballon festival, the free museums, the free zoo or just sitting on the great lawn overlooking the lake, I can not think of a better place to spend my time in St Louis, Missouri. If you are visiting, take a few days to visit the Art museum, the is so Uri History museum, the zoo, the Jewel Box, and definately the Science Museum. It’s time we’ll spent to understand St Louis and it’s importance as the gateway to the west.

I have lived in St. Louis all my life.
Forest Park is a very large park with many museums, a boat house, and is adjacent to the world famous zoo ( which is free).
There is many walking /bike trails through out the park.
During the summer there outside theater called the Muny, which is wonderful.

To visit on the park. The Victorian footbridge, 1904 fountains, art museum, boathouse, zoo, etc. lots of hidden gems

Forest Park is left over from the World's Fair in 1904. It is big, beautiful and well maintained. It is the home of many of STL best attractions, as well. Our great Zoo is here with the train (look for more detailed review of the zoo). Also, STL Art Museum is on the hill above the zoo. In the winter, Art Hill is our sledding paradise. Our one of a kind Muny (summer outdoor musical theater) is here. The Hisory museum is here, and it now has a display about the 100 year anniversary of the Muny. The Boathouse restaurant is worth stopping for lunch. There are paddle boats, canoes, etc. to rent for fun. The Jewel Box greenhouse is a treat. For sports fans there is a golf course, handball courts, softball diamonds, and tennis courts and the park is surrounded by jogging/running/walking/biking path. There is lots of green areas for picnics. Shakespeare in the Park also lives here for a month (usually the end of May thru June). As you can see it is our Jewel and playground. Don't miss it.

My favorite place to walk is around the boat house area. There are little creeks and small water falls and bridges. Plenty of shady and lots of museums if want to go inside.

What a great place for a nice walk or bike ride. Growing up this was not something you would ever do in Forest Park but my friend and I felt very safe. Lots of paths to explore and we wished we would have had more time. I hope you enjoy it as
Much as we did.

We didn’t know what to expect, driving in but we were pleasantly surprised with what we saw!
This park is HUGE and has something to offer anyone at any age.
We walked a couple of trails after we had s picnic bear the pavilion which was having a child’s play that afternoon!
Handball/tennis courts
A zoo
Art museum
Golf course
Pavilion with live shows
So many walking/riding trails
Food court
Play grounds
Trolleys that shuttle you around!!
I’m sure I’m missing a million things, you can spend a weekend here and not see everything.

Took a leisurely drive and a short walk on Wednesday, 9/12. Forest Park is a big deal herein St Louis. There's a lot of stuff to do and enjoy. I try to get there at least once a month.

Forest Park is huge. It's been around since the late 1800s and is larger than Central Park in NYC.
Plenty of trails for walking the dog or jogging. Also, the Muny Opera is here; the St. Louis Zoo is here; the Art Museum and the History Museum is here too. This park is so huge you need a few days to see everything.
Fyi - the zoo and museums are free to enter.

You can dine, see a play, visit the science center, sit and feel close to nature, drive through too. What a great park inspired by activists, Henry Shaw, the 1904 world’s fair, and community to have such a great city park. I must say most credit goes to missouri botanical garden through Henry Shaw for this magnificent city park. A must see and do all for the st. louis visitor. St. Louisans love our forest park.

This park is one of the largest city parks in the USA. It has everything from golf to museums and zoos. Parking might be a premium so maybe take an Uber or bus into the area you are headed. Open air theatre is also offered with 1500 of the 4500 seats free to the public. If only I had more time, maybe it gives us a reason to return to St Louis...

Though we only drove past this place, it rblew my mind! It is larger than Central Park in New York. Beautiful lawns, and the tall, colorful trees go for miles. I really wanted to stop and get out, but I could only look at it to the window. When I return to St. Louis someday, I want to spend a day or two at this beautiful place. Across the street, are dozens and dozens of the most beautiful mansions you will ever see in your life.

Forest Park is such a great place, it's hard to describe. It's like Central Park but bigger and in St Louis. It has lakes, museums, sports and the Muny for plays. It's just a neat place to be.

A not so well kept secret spot in St. Louis. This park is simply world class. It's bigger than Central Park -The Worlds Fair and Summer Olympics were once held here. Great place to go walk or ride a bike. See the zoo. Not to mention the phenomenal Art Museum which will blow you away. One of the must see areas of St. Louis. Kudos to the people who maintain this park. They do a great job. Recommended.

I happily learned that that Forest Park was the home of the 1904 World’s Fair. The park is beautiful with lots of walking areas and green space to admire. It is also the home to the St Louis Zoo, the Saint Louis Art Museum and the Missouri History Museum. I visited on an overcast Friday but the park was still busy with people and school groups. I had the chance to drive through two different parts and walk trough another and I realized how large it was. Emerson Grand Basin was WOW and was the center of the World’s Fair (the Art Museum is the last remaining building in the park). It was a great place to visit.

You can visit the St Louis Zoo Any time of the year (and it's FREE!!
I live in St Louis and some days just go and visit one section at a time..so I can take my time and enjoy the animals in their habitats. We are Truly Lucky to have such a Wonderful Zoo!

Beautiful space for biking, walking and playing. The St. Louis Zoo, History Museum, Science Center, Art Museum, golf course, Jewel Box, Muny (summer outdoor theatre) and World's Fair Pavilion are all in forest park. You could spend days walking and playing here without seeing everything. It's incredible! Go see it!! Best of all—-it’s ALL FREE!!! This is the very best part of St. Louis—Forest Park and everything in it.

A great place for a picnic. Sparsely populated att city parks go...
It has a zoo, botanical garden.
But is a vast park, so bring a bottle of water when hiking around it in summer

Site of the 1904 World's Fair, this is a truly exceptional American city park that rivals NYC's- Central, and San Diego's- Balboa. Much to see and do(many attractions free). A "must see" site in the city: Saint Louis should be very proud of this gem.

There are so many things to do at the park from the zoo to the science center. It's so big that it can take an hour to walk from one attraction to another. The restaurant is good as well.

This park is a gem. So much to offer including beautiful vistas, arts and so much more. Do note that many of the attractions within the park are closed on Monday.

Walking through the park to get to the zoo was the best decision of the trip. The park had great views and features and I even got some killer photos with my significant other near the pond.

Great Experience. Great place to run , bike or just enjoy. Very clean, safe and well kept. St Louis can be proud of what you have here. Great Job.

This park has a great deal to offer. It has golf, rollerblading trails, running trails, history museum, and much more.

A world class urban park which rivals Central Park in NYC and Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The park houses many first class attractions including the zoo, art museum, science center, municipal opera, and several reminders of the St Louis Worlds Fair. Many bike and hiking trails around some beautiful lakes and waterways

Spent the afternoon wandering the trails and fishing in the ponds with my little grandson. Make me want to move to St Louis. We didn’t have time for the zoo but we will be back.

Forest Park offers great walking trails, and the Art Museum, History Museum, Science Museum and Zoo, just to name a few activities within Forest Park. Plan on spending the day, see the history.

What a beautiful park we didn’t have much time to look around but we did get some good shots from up above

Imagine a pollution free area in the midst of a very busy city, place where you can walk, play with your children or simply rest on benches with sunshine.. The surrounding greenery is soothing to eyes. Love to be here on a holiday.

This place has everything. We parked at Turtle Playground and made our way through the zoo to the art museum then back. We would have explored more, but it was unbelievably hot that day. The park was easy to navigate, parking was free, and I hop I get the chance to explore more of it someday.

Back to SLU for reunion weekend and stopped here to waste some time & enjoy the beautiful sunny day before heading to airport. Beautiful park, includes lots of things to do: museums, zoo, rental scooters, and beautiful houses along the way too

This is a beautiful safe neighborhood and nice people. I would recommend 2 Schae Cafe great customer service great food and great local knowledge.

Peaceful and tranquility.. enjoyed the walk with my son.. very beautiful and calming.. different ponds..buildings

Forest Park is a treasure in St Louis with the Zoo, Art Museum, History Museum, municipal golf course and of course during the summer the Municipal Opera, which has quite a few free seats in the rear. The Muny produces Broadway plays. Also you can rent boats and enjoy their large lake and eat at the "Boathouse" which has excellent food. In warm weather you can eat outside the restaurant and watch the people paddle by on their rented boats. Bliss.

Forest Park is home to the St Louis Zoo, the Art Museum, The Muny, The History Museum as well as miles of walking and biking trails and a really nice golf course. You
can find something wonderful to do there.
It is beatiful and serene any time of year. It is also in the heart of the city. It was home to the 1904 World's Fair and has a fascinating history. To come to St Louis and not at least take the Trolley tour through this park would be a shame.

A nice green area in the middle of a big city. It's amazing to consider what was once here (the world's fair), though little of that is left. Yet the space is well used now with parks, museums, and other venues. A refreshing way to get out of the rat race of the city which surrounds it.

Forest Park in St. Louis may be the best in the country. The zoo, art museum and most other attractions have free admissions. All attractions are world class

This is a large and very nice park where you can spend many hours walking. Many activities and museums too. Walking, running or bicycling are most popular. There is a golf course too. From the center of St. Louis you can go by the Metro. Enjoy!

Stayed in the Central West End and on a super hot October day the green of the park was calling. Between the nice breeze and the abundant shade it made for a nice interlude between meetings. What a beautifiul park! (Note: If you take the Metro from the airport you go right through parts of it, but the prettiest parts you will have yet to see!)

What's not to like about an Olmstead Park? The vision of these parks are just extraordinary -- and incredible design that exposes the beauty of the city, allows families to enjoy nature, community members to enjoy sports, and so much more. While visiting St. Louis, I was lucky to stay in two places that were just a short walk from the East entrance. There you have access to miles of trails both gravel and paved where you can walk through myriad ecosystems from swamp grass to paths to grassy hills and knolls. So well maintained and a way to take in nature safely. Walk 1.5- 2 miles in and you can access the museums and attractions on the property, including the Missouri History Museum, the South Louis Art Museum, and the Zoo.

Great trails - biking, walking, etc. Walk from the Zoo and Art Museum to the History Museum. Special trails tucked away take you to special secret spots.

Worth a visit, a beautiful walk
Tress and flora lovely
Very mellow and just a nice place to visit
We enjoyed it

Forest Park is a very big area with a lot to do from a zoo to just walking around. Tons of green space and a nice way to get away from city life. (Pro tip: rent Lime scooters and ride them around! very fun)

Forest Park is a beautiful place to visit. We have a free zoo with many up dated and interactive exhibits. The children zoo has a small admission fee but the little ones will love the zoo. The zoo also has a miniature train that travels around the zoo .In the summer we have an outdoor Musical Theater called the Muni and they produce Broadway Musicals that are fabulous. They also have an awesome Art Museum. They have picnic areas, walking and running trails. If you visit STL it's a must see!

This park is amazing. Biking, walking and running paths galore. Greenways and golf courses. Zoos and museums. You can spend your whole weekend here. Exceptionally clean.

Forest Park is a great place to visit. It has a 84 acre Free Zoo, a great Art museum, History Museum, and two golf courses, A beautiful outdoor theatre in the summer. A great restaurant, where you can bring your dog for outdoor dining. It is located beside a lake. You can rent paddle boats for a ride around the lake. Plenty of bike and walking trails. It is located central of the city.

Nice park for running, golfing, cultural events. Sports the Zoo, Art Museum, and History Museum, all of which are free of charge. It would be even better if cars were banned. On sunny days all of STL county seems to drive to the park to park...

Took the MetoLink from our hotel near the Arch to Forest Park. A little walk and you are at the Art Museum. A little further you are at the visitor center or if you walk the opposite direction you'll find the zoo. Many people out walking/jogging/biking the pathways. So like the paths marked heels and/or wheels. So many things to see and enjoy here. The Jewel Box was one of our favorites. Small entry fee, but so worth it. A few play areas for the little ones too. We look the MetoLink because we don't mind walking and didn't want to move our car. Many free parking areas within the park. Too many great venues in this park to mention.

an amazing park located by so many other attractions st. louis has to offer. so many events take place here. was at the balloon glow...absolutely amazing

Lovely area to walk around, maybe take out a boat. Unfortunately, we went on a Sunday and everything was closed. Huge (bigger than Central Park) and parking can be a challenge, but definitely worth it.

Forest Park is great! The ability to park the car and in one spot and then visit multiple attractions such as the zoo and Missouri History Museum (both free) is wonderful. Contains great biking and walking trails as well.

Lovely park. We took a detour specifically to enjoy some of the park on our way to a show, and were very happy we did. It made me feel like I was somewhere besides Saint Louis. The major downside was the fairly heavily trafficked roads that run through the park.

history, art, science museums and loads of open park space also world's best zoo and its all free to everyone and snow sledding of major proportions

If you cant find something to do here..........just amazing. There really is something for everybody. A must for tourist and natives as well. Anything from boatrides on the Grand Basin to a night at the outdoor theatre The Muny.....horseback riding..golf.......the Art Museum....History Museum....or just people watching. You can even rent a bike and cycle around the 9 mile bike and walking path.

A visit to St. Louis is incomplete with a visit to Forest Park. This si the home of the Zoo, Science Center, The Muny, Museums, and several other must see attractions.

I rode the rental scooters through this park and the paved pathways were kept in excellent condition for it! Beautiful greenery, winding paths great city views.

Astonishing park to share with family and children in the woods. Lots of green, small lagoons and even an open air theater. Great place to enjoy of the nature.

Checked out the old victims footbridge a large mulberry tree and the round lake with the 100 year old fountain. What a great oasis in the city.

I’ve visited several zoos around the country plus a few in Europe, and one in Australia. Maybe I’m biased being from St Louis but I feel the Zoo here is the best I’ve ever seen. And it keeps improving.

It's not at all original for me to say that Forest Park is a gem o an urban park. With its excellence have come modern problems. Crowding and its ancillary, finding parking. If you want comfort and convenience, and some space around you plan your visit for a non-holiday weekday with unpleasant weather. The Zoo is the largest attraction and on our recent pleasant weather weekend visit it was quite crowded. We spent 10+ minutes in a creeping line of traffic just to get to the point where we could see the signs that the most convenient (pay) parking lot was full. Signs misdirected us to a completely inadequate (free) overflow parking lot which was also full. After which I did find the alternate pay lot. There were lines of at least 10 cars each backed up approaching that lot's entrance from each direction but I saw very civilized behavior equitably interleaving the right- and left-turners. There is free parking on both sides of the roads around the Zoo. I'm sure we saw miles of parked cars and families trekking that distance to the Zoo's entrances. Anticipating crowds inside, the Zoo has instigated a reservation system to minimize the problem. Our paperwork was checked and we were admitted with no problem. Oddly, I never saw anyone rejected. Considering the number of out-of-state license plates I saw, surely somebody would have been unprepared. In the Zoo, it was pretty busy. Too busy for a casual stroll. We thought we would ride the pay Zoo Line Railroad for a loop around the place. We ended up giving our tickets away to new arrivals when we tired of waiting.
So, in my opinion, Forest Park is actually great, the Zoo there is great, but it is a victim of its own success. For example, the St. Louis Art Museum in Forest Park is also great. On this day, the Zoo crowd overflow parking along the roads swamped the roads around the Art Museum and its parking lots.

St. Louis is fortunate to have Forest Park, a public park larger than Central Park. Over the course of 3 days we experienced the park in different ways. The park is great for a short hike or all day excursions. There is a lot to see and do in Forest Park.
By far, my favorite day was the day we started by going to the Dennis and Judith Jones Education Center. It opens early and the day we visited there was plenty of parking. The volunteers staffing the information desk were extremely helpful. The woman we talked to gave us a map, directions to our destination (the Art Museum) and told us her favorite way to experience Forest Park. She also made suggestions for other places to visit and dine in St. Louis. Most of which we took!
From the Visitor Center, it was a pleasant walk to the Art Museum. We spent a couple of hours in the museum then headed to the Boathouse for lunch. We were able to walk, but if you had to you could drive.
If you are going to Forest Park, definitely stop by the Visitor Center early on. From there, if you are accustomed to walking good distances, you can walk to the Zoo, the Missouri History Museum, and the Art Museum. All of which are worth visiting. There is no admission to the Zoo or the Art Museum. But you do have to pay for parking at the Zoo.
We stayed close to Forest Park, so the morning we left we were able to take a quick hike along some of the trails. It was a beautiful morning, there are maps posted along the trails so we didn't get lost. Everyone we encountered was friendly.
By far, Forest Park was my favorite part of St. Louis.

A number of things to see and do, this is a very attractive park area several miles from downtown St. Louis. We enjoyed visiting there.

The park is the legacy of the 1904 World Fair, discover the Jewel box, the Pavilion of the fair, the Zoo, the science museum or the art museum the list can go on and on. This is a great place to picnic, park and stroll to one of the exhibits.

This is a huge area and so it is not really feasible to just walk. There is usually a trolley that you can hop on and off, but I guess it is not running because of COVID. So just be aware of that. We had a good lunch at the boathouse, walked through the World Fair Pavillion and visited the History Museum.

We drove into the park to go to the zoo and then walked up to the Art Museum. The grounds are so beautiful, acres and acres of beautiful park. We would have walked around more, but it was a hot day. The zoo and museums are free!!!

Massive park to visit. Home to many attractions, including museums and a zoo. The docent at the visitor center was very helpful in deciding what we should do.

Without a doubt the best zoo besides "maybe" San Diego's zoo. But The St. Louis Zoo is FREE. Even on the cold days of winter there are plenty of animals to see.

My favorite place to hang in Missouri. Great bike paths and to fly a kite. A seriuosly premier museum, the municiple opera house, the zoo, and great open park spaces for picnics to concerts. It is truly the heart of St. Louis.

So much to see here. We walked from the Basilica. Yes, it is very hot and humid for us Californians, but we managed

We host a large picnic every year at Forest Park. What a great park in the city to enjoy the night and festivities. We had plenty of space and facilities.

Sitting smack dab in city center is this great green space and resource.
Home of lots of parkland and the art museum and zoo- what a resource this is.
Free parking available in spots-should be able to find a spot

We drove to Forest Park at suggestion of family. It is THE most beautiful park, larger than Central Park in NY. There are paths all over to walk, bike, jog. We rented bikes from a gentleman in the parking lot for two hours and road all around. It was stunning, with all the trees multicolored leaves.
We ended up coming back another day, spending the entire day walking and going to the zoo - which was FREE admission- along with the other museums on site: Science, Art, Muny.
Not to be missed. We fell in love with St Louis!!

Went for a walk after the Art Museum and saw lots of people out enjoying the day. Access to Art Museum, Zoo, Muny, Jewel House, Golf Course and more are easily in reach from any parking area. Kept the teens busy and off their phones for a while!

Free admission to zoo, art museum, state museum, science center, and acres of open fields and woodlands. Lots of activities inside buildings for kids to do. Find parking on the street near your attraction or in a free lot. 2 pay lots, near zoo and near the art museum, but there are opportunities for no cost parking if you’re willing to walk. Get a map and explore the park. MetroLink just outside the main entrance. Transportation is necessary inside the park, bike or car since attractions are a significant distance apart.

There is always the cliche that a park should not have roads through it. Basically a park shouldn’t really have public roads through it..
Nonetheless, very well maintained, worth a visit.

The largest urban park in the United States, and so well maintained. Wonderful place for people of all ages with great trails, plus one of the best art museums in the U.S. And, of course, the number one rated zoo in the United States. What's not to like about this place.

It's a well kept, beautiful, many things to see place to go. You can spend a whole weekend just going to the different places this park has to offer. Like the museums, the Zoo, etc and never finish with experiencing the whole place.
If you visit St. Louis...it's one of the many 'go to' places.

This is a beautiful park in the middle of the city. There is soooo much to do here. A world class zoo, the Missouri History Museum, Jewel Box (botanicals), the Muny- and outdoor theater that shows Broadway plays, past and present , lakes, trails for running, strolling or biking, large picnic areas, world class St Louis Art Museum. There is so much to do here. If visiting after dark, a little caution is recommended.
Oh, most free!!

This is probably one of the most scenic and peaceful city parks I have ever visited. So clean, and so much to see and do. Plenty of hiking and biking trails. Plenty of very picturesk places to visit, such as the Pagoda. Admission and parking are also free. There are also tons of museums and the zoo nearby. Needless to say, I would highly recommend stopping in to Forest Park if you have the free time in the St. Louis area.

I wanted to rate this higher but for someone from out of town and visiting from the UK I found it really hard to navigate.
We weren’t sure first of all where to park to make the most of our visit. We had not planned on going into any of the free museums, the zoo etc but came with a picnic intent on going for a stroll and enjoying our food whilst being out in nature in a big city.
We didn’t find one single information board with a layout of the park and in the end had to resort to google and parked by the boathouse. A stroll around the lake was pleasant particularly watching the visitors paddle boarding and out on the paddle boats but we felt there was so much more to see and it is so expansive that without some guidance we were put off.

Wow, I don't think I have ever seen a Park that is so Big, in such nice condition, has so many items in it, and just goes on and on. Tons of Historical information with multiple art and history Museums, Statues, a Science Center, Planetarium, Zoo, etc. Plus the have multiple golf courses, archery areas, ice skating rink, walking trails, outdoor theater, etc., etc. etc. Wow, this Park goes on and on and is so well maintained, it is beautiful. Great Job St. Louis !

Forest Park is one of the most beautiful and attractive parks around! First of all it is very large, so there is room for everyone. You don't have to be surrounded by other people if you don't want to. It is easy to find a nice quiet spot for reading, meditating, or resting! Or you can hang out with the crowd on Art Hill!
Second, there is a lot to do! Picnicking, zoo, art museum, science center, history museum, golf, handball, tennis, picture taking, hiking, walking trails, special events, bird watching, duck watching, fishing, weddings, school outings, boating, baseball, soccer, restaurants, etc.
Third, it is easy to get to. Either via street or highway and there is plenty of free on-street parking. You can drive, bike or take the train. However you get there, get there when you can!!

Went to Forest Park for Shakespeare in the Park, but had time to walk around and watch the boats on the water and see the outside of the art museum, etc. What an amazing place!

Forest Park has a great history. And the city took the history and made a large green space that everyone can use throughout the year. Shakespeare in the park in the summer, world class art museum for the winter months and a year round zoo. Go, wander, have fun.

We enjoyed our trip to Forest Park. There were several wedding parties taking pictures in the park the day we visited. Also, some family reunions. The park is clean and really beautiful. We will definitely visit again and spend more time when we visit again.

Literally one of the most beautiful urban green spaces I have ever been in. There are many buildings to see in the park as well. And the zoo. And the Art Museum. And, and, and.....

We drove through and then stopped at the World's Fair Building for sunset. Gorgeous park, rivals Central Park for sure but felt 1000x cleaner! It's like a giant playground in the middle of STL. The Missouri History Museum is here as well as the Art Museum and the Zoo.

I wanted to go walking in the park and this is a great place for it! Then we saw the
paddle boats and decided to do that. We rented one and paddled around the lake.
What a blast! It must be wonderful to have a place that has so many options.
Saw lots of folks and dogs too. Enjoy! It's huge so get a map. It's spread out with
lots of places to visit.

My hotel gym was closed due to Covid and the park provided some welcome walking/jogging trails particulary back behind the zoo. The trails are dirt or gravel, well maintained and shaded. There are also extensive asphalt paths along the outskirts of the park and golf course.

We took our bikes along when we visited St. Louis and really enjoyed riding through this beautiful park.

Forest Park is one of the premier parks in the USA. You can hike, bike, ride a scooter, or just sit and enjoy this park. A good day to avoid the park is when there are special events that fill it with people, like the St Louis Symphony in September when traffic doesn't move.

Lots of free activities in the park. Would be a fun filled day for people of all ages. They offer a trolley for $2 to help you get around. It is huge!

1/3 larger than Central Park. Home to the Zoo, the Muny (oldest outdoor theatre in the U.S., the Boathouse, the Grand Basin, and the Art Museum

Go often, but my favorite is bringing friends and family from out of town to this gem! Went to the water feature on the hill in front of the World's Fair Pavillion, ate outside at the Boat House, and fed the ducks, then went to Art Hill to run off some steam. It was all beautiful, refreshing, and so very satisfying with our daughter and her two young daughter's from Connecticut.

Only had a day to see the park, but was surprised how big the area was and how much there is to do. A great location to just have a walk or a picnic lunch, seems to be the local thing to do.

Absolute must see. Take your time and plan on spending at least 4 or 5 hours seeing everything there is to offer.

What a beautiful place to go for a walk, especially on this warm Christmas Day! The views are stunning. Tranquil.

The park is huge. It’s conveniently located and houses several museums as well as the zoo. The landscape and Varied architecture is a sight to behold. Love the surprises at every turn on the walk paths.

My husband & I went on a picnic date here. It was perfect! We went to The Hill and bought sandwiches, chips, and dessert. We took it to a gorgeous spot in the park and just enjoyed the afternoon together. Families were out playing, people were out walking & biking, and the birds were just a chirping. Perfect date. I highly recommend it.

What a gorgeous park! I am so impressed with the mix of museums and outdoor features here. We arrived before the flowers were in bloom but I can envision how gorgeous that will be this Spring. I highly recommend this area!

It started by walking around the zoo and seeing all the animals. My family loves the zoo all the different things to do and see from children's zoo and feeding the goats to train ride before we left. That just started the day then we went for a paddle boat ride around the lake, very neat never did that before. Then we decide to ride some scooters around the park for little while and finale dinner at the boat house watching sun go down all around great day.

This is a lovely park with a free zoo, museums, and an outdoor theater. You can rent paddleboats (not free - $20/hour) or kayaks for the small lake. We spent two days exploring and still have more to see!

It was quite hot so we did not take many long walks in the park. However, for some shade, there are so many interesting places to visit: Art museum, History Museum, Science Museum and the Zoo. The children liked the last two, especially.

What beautiful grounds and a variety of things to do: take a walk in a variety settings: wooded, watery, or green spaces; go paddle boating; tour the art museum or history museum, or enjoy the zoo. Non-commercial, peaceful feel so accessible to the bustling west side. Thanks for noting if this was helpful!

We decided to take a nice long walk, since we had a long drive in the afternoon. The park is where the World's Fair was in, I believe 1904. The park is huge with a zoo and an art museum. We walked up to the museum and had a spectacular view. We were surprised that the museum was free. They had three floors of some amazing paintings. There is a different colored strip of wood in front of each painting. You are not supposed to step over this line and of course there is no touching. I would recommend this museum for anyone who loves original paintings. Outstanding. This park is worth a visit and parking is plentiful and free.

We were in town for a weekend wedding and had very little time to do any sightseeing. We drove through the park on the way to the wedding and we were blown away by how beautiful and massive this place is. We were able to do a walk around the lake on Sun before we had to get back on the road and from what I can put together, we only saw a fraction of what this park has to offer. We cannot wait for a return trip to explore the museums, zoo and scenery of Forest Park!
If you're planning a trip through here or near here, definitely make this park, and it's zoo and museums a must do!

Perfect for long runs, plenty of drinking fountains and open bathrooms! The tulips and redbud trees are in bloom. The hills are killer.

My husband and I really enjoyed spending the day at this park. It was a beautiful day to be outside. Everything is so well maintained.

I’m fortunate enough to live very close to the best city park in the United States. Our gem has a world class zoo, Art Museum, history museum, planetarium, outdoor theater, boathouse, gold course, lakes, fountains, bike and walking paths, public Art, and so much more.
A visit to St Louis is lacking if one doesn’t take in the beauty of Forest Park

This is a historic and beautiful park established in 1876. It is the second largest city park in the country after Central Park in NYC and was the site of the World's Fair in 1904. It is quite impressive and contains the St Louis Museum of Art and the St Louis Zoo but also has botanical gardens, a performing arts center, a golf course, walking paths, picnic areas and lakes. We were here primarily to visit the St Louis Art Museum but would love to return in the spring or fall to explore more of the park.

Forest park is an unbelievable oasis in St. Louis. Complete with cultural activities, kids activities, golf and easy hikes. Bike trails and open green space at the Great Basin. You can a whole day exploring. I highly suggest this city park when in the area.

Took a 3 and a half mile hike around the park today. The park is clean, patrolled and well kept up. It was a rather cool and blustery day but the parks looks great and should be enjoyed by all.

It's a park and I realize that I probably have only seen a very small part of it right around the art museum and the zoo and obviously this time of year everything is still kind of dead but it was still fun to walk around and remember my childhood of having picnics here with my grandmother and my aunt lots of space and lots of things to do in and around Forest Park the zoo the art Museum the list goes on

Such a beautiful and peaceful place. A great place to take a walk, go to the zoo, have a nice brunch or lunch.

My wife & I visited the St. Louis Art Museum to enjoy three free exhibitions, but the highlight of our midday outing ended up being the amazing summer flower display in the raised beds across Fine Arts Drive from the Museum. The variety, the colors, and the sheer volume of flowers & decorative plants had us lingering and snapping photos for 20 minutes. The horticulturists of the Forest Park Forever conservancy have been doing a great job over the last several years to enhance the grounds of this attractive urban green space, and the flower beds at the top of Art Hill are the crowning achievement of their efforts. Thank you!

A must see if in St Louis. This park is home to the Muny, the Jewel Box, the St Louis Zoo, the Art Museum and so much more. Take a paddle boat out at the Boathouse or enjoy all the trails if biking or running. Overall a gem of a park in the city!

Visitors to St. Louis taking in the sites so came to Forest Park, the site of the 1904 World's Fair (which is depicted in one of my favorite movies Meet Me in St. Louis) so we wanted to see some of the original sites still remaining. Visited the Art Museum and the World's Fair Pavilion. Sat for a few minutes in a couple of places with vast amounts of green lawn in front of us, contemplating all the people (couples, families, groups of friends, and singles) that were enjoying their rest, their meditation, their exercise, their picnic there. So much more to explore that we will definitely return someday!!

This is one of the largest(1300 acres plus) city parks in the U.S. and it has been renovated superbly! There is much to do for everyone as it is the location of the free STL Zoo, the Art Museum, the Planetarium (with access to the Science Center), the Jewel Box (flowers), the Muny outdoor theater, a golf course, tennis, racquet ball and handball courts, an ice skating rink, and biking and walking trails. There are lakes and water features (large fountain) along with a Boat House restaurant and boat rentals which include paddle-boats, canoes, kayaks, and standup boards. There is a Visitors Center near the tennis court area along with a coffee/snack cafe. There is also an area of wetlands and Kennedy Forest. This a great place for family reunions or to picnic, play Frisbee, or doing nothing and relax! It is also the site for the St. Louis Earth Day festival and the Great Forest Park Balloon Race. Plenty of free parking with some paid parking areas . Forest Park is wheelchair accessible and has disabled parking for all sites. It is conveniently located off of I-64.

This is a fantastic place. It is huge...it is gorgeous. And in it, you will find our art museum, our great zoo, the muny opera (during summer evenings), 27 holes of golf, paddle boats, and more. Another place not to experience when in St. Louis.

Home to the Saint Louis Zoo, Art Museum, Muny Opera, numerous ball and rugby fields, even a gold course, this park has it all. Great fun exploring any of the attractions, or just making your own fun with a picnic lunch, nice walk or bike ride.
The park is always clean and well up-kept. Always a great time.

Forest Park is an amazing place to visit. The park has a great zoo and art museum, both are free. There are countless trails and places to do outdoor sports and activities. Many concerts and events are hosted in the park, also the park has a golf course. This park is a must see, if you are in Saint Louis.

Beautiful park
Huge
Not crowded
Such diverse activities.... golf, St Louis Art Museum, zoo and so much more.
Many picnics, runners and families
Would recommend

My grandson, Charles and his lovely lady,Jackie were married in May in Forest Park. The people at Forest Park were so helpful in every way to make their wedding day SPECIAL. They were married in a gazebo on the grounds. It was a perfect day for EVERYONE!

A nice, big park with lots to see. During my visit in December, it was quite peaceful with few other visitors. However, it seems like it would be bustling in the warmer months. There are numerous attractions here, but I just wish there was a bit more in the way of signage to guide you through the multitude of sidewalks.

I just love Forest Park! This park is home to the St Louis Zoo, Art Museum, History Museum... It is also home to one of my favorite places to sit outside and eat on a nice day, The Boathouse. The park is a great place for a picnic, family reunion, or just a nice walk. It does get crowded at the pavilions during spring/summer.

This place is always on my tour guide list when people come to visit. There are so many things to do. Museums, restaurant, sight seeing, the zoo, golf courses, and the Muny.

I regularly walk (since Covid) in the park and it has been wonderful to explore. The landscaping is incredible and the flowers at all seasons are gorgeous.

Whether it is art, music, science, sport, or the zoo, Forest Park has it all for free. It is a magnificently landscaped park with every cultural amenity possible for locals and visitors alike.

Plenty of parking and places for picnics, exercises, walking your dog. Houses the Art and History Museums as well as the zoo- all free!

We only had one day to visit this historic park which was the site of the 1904 St Louis World's Fair. We visited the Museum of Art, which has a wonderful Impressionist Exhibit and an Egyptian Exhibit, complete with a CAT scan of a mummy revealing some of the secrets inside it. We had a lovely lunch in the Boat House, which is situated along a small canal with paddle boats and ducks. Recommend comfortable walking shoes, although there is a trolley to take you around in season.

Covering almost 1400 acres, Forest Park is arguably the best planned and maintained urban park in the US. It houses, in addition to acres and acres of greenery, forests, lakes and streams, along with walking paths, picnic areas and a great venue for festivals, concerts and other events. It also houses the Missouri History Museum, the St. Louis Art Museum, the St. Louis Science Center, the Zoo and the Muny (the oldest and largest outdoor theater in the US).

Beautiful and majestic open space in the middle of Saint Louis. This gem is fun for the family year round. Boat rides, sledding in the winter. Magical spot.

What a great place! So much to do, large space, city activities were constant, museums, you can plan 3 days while in St. Louis at the park!

Such a surprise in the middle of a city. Beautiful, clean, well manicured park with so much to do. Our first day we explored the free zoo. Our second day we walked our dog around the water. We will definitely be back on our next visit to St. Louis.

This is a beautiful park, it is really big and lots of history... Just don't be there after dark. That's when St Louis shows you how much it's declined.. I've lived here all of my life and used to be a beautiful city. But now it's not worth visiting. The outline southern communities are beautiful and still fairly safe St Louis in any of the northern counties have become a battlezone.

This is one of the great parks in America. Theater, art museum, history museum, golf, tennis, biking, hiking...This is a historic site as the home of the 1904 World's Fair...

We love to visit Forest Park. We have rented a paddle boat and explored the park, taken our dogs for walks, and just enjoyed beautiful days outside. It’s a must do when visiting the Lou!

I grew up in St. Louis and visiting the attractions in Forest Park was a frequent event that I now realize I took for granted. I had occasion to visit the park with my nephew and his kids recently and I had forgotten just how beautiful it is. I sat waiting for my nephew just across from the boat house and watched people walking, running, and just enjoying a beautiful day outside in nature. There are paths, a waterfall, a stream, the zoo, the art museum, the history museum, ball fields, the jewel box, the Muny outdoor theater, an ice rink, a golf course, tennis courts, and so much more. The best part is that it’s mostly free and the rest is low cost. It has something for people of all ages and abilities. The 1904 World’s Fair took place there and a few of the original buildings are still standing. I plan to spend much more time there and I hope you will too!

Wow, all I can say is Wow. If we had more time, we would have explored everything! We visited about a week after a recent weather event that left a lot of trees down all through the park which made it a little less 'picturesque'. Make sure to tour the World Fair exhibit at the museum, so cool! Go to the zoo in the morning, early if you would rather not pay for parking. If we return, we will plan to see everything else!

It was rainy and muddy but lovely park and the meet could not have been better managed especially given the weather. I hope we go back next year, will stay at Home2suites for more days so we can visit the zoo, museums, golf all right there. Arch about 6 miles away. The mounted police are located there, horses were so gentle with the kids. Park for $10 at the golf course well worth it.

Forest park is a wonderful large park in the middle of the city. It has the art, science museum and the zoo. There are walking and bike trails, fountains, etc.

It’s a quick viewing and move onto the next item to see in St Louis area. Great place for a picnic and rest!

Known as the "Heart of St. Louis," Forest Park is to St. Louis what Central Park is to New York City, only much bigger and featuring many more attractions. Nearly twice as big as the more celebrated Central Park, Forest Park covers 1,326 acres and attracts more than 12 million visitors a year, surpassing the number of annual visitors to Busch Stadium and the Gateway Arch National Park combined. Located in western St. Louis, it is bounded by Washington University, Skinker Boulevard, Lindell Boulevard, Kingshighway Boulevard and Oakland Avenue. The park's acreage includes meadows and trees and a variety of ponds, mad-made lakes and freshwater streams. It is home to a variety of attractions, including the St. Louis Zoo, the St. Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum, the St. Louis Science Center, the Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis or the Muny, Forest Park Golf Course, Steinberg Skating Rink, Dwight Davis Tennis Center and Highlands Golf and Tennis Center. Opened in 1876, the park has hosted several significant events, including the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904 and the 1904 Summer Olympics. The most visited feature of the park is the St. Louis Zoo, a free zoo that opened in 1910 and attracts about three million visitors annually to see its collection of more than 18,000 animals. It is divided into five animal zones: the River's Edge (elephants, cheetahs, hyenas), the Wild (penguins, apes, bears), Discovery Zone (petting zoo), Red Rocks (lions, tigers), and Historic Hill, the oldest part of the zoo which features the 1904 Flight Cage or primate house. The Cabanne House, built in 1876, is one of the oldest structures in the park and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, it serves as the official residence of the St. Louis Parks and Recreation Commissioner. Also of note are the two oldest statues in the park--the 1876 statue of Edward Bates, U.S. Attorney General under President Abraham Lincoln and a prominent St. Louis attorney, which is located near the Cascades waterfall on the western edge of the park, and the 1885 statue of Frank Blair, a U.S. Army general and U.S. senator from Missouri, which is located at Kingshighway and Lindell boulevards. There is so much to do and see in Forest Park...the zoo, museums, the Muny, tennis, ice skating, bike riding, boating, jogging, sledding, picnicking, golf, even balloon races. First-time visitors are advised to start at the visitors center to see what their options are, what events are taking place, to try to fit as many attractions into your timetable as you can. A visit to Forest Park is an all-day experience.

On a nice summer or fall day this is the place to take the family. Pack a great picnic lunch and just enjoy the view and the park.

Huge beautiful park in the city! Great walking and biking paths, a free zoo too. Great way to spend an sunny afternoon. The worlds fair plaza is a cool place to see too!

Forest Park offers a ton of stuff to do for nearly all interests. The zoo was especially great, and we will return when we have more time to explore the area and all it has to offer. The park was clean and quite litter-free. Kudos to the staff who maintain Forest Park.

Do you know that this park is bigger than Central Park? The place is huge and beautiful. you can find here the History Museum, Museum of Arts and even the St. Louis Zoo!

Great place to walk or ride a bike. Miles of paths that go by fountains, water, the art museum, the Zoo, and more. About a $13 Uber/lift ride from downtown. Clearly one of the top parks in the country. My wife, family, and I felt safe walking around during the day. Lots of people getting exercise and visiting the sites.

I could not believe how big an area this is. You could spend all day here and not see everything. Great walking paths and bike paths

The park is about a 15 minute drive from downtown St Louis. It is where the world fair was held in 1904. It is a great place to walk or just sit and watch.

We stopped in at Forest park to see what was on offer. Its a really neat place to visit as you have the Zoo,Science museum and lots of other places to see.

We were unaware when we booked our stay that we would be so close to this beautiful park.Everything had bloomed or blooming- it was picturesque. Birds everywhere and so we’re the cicadas. Cold spend the entire day on the green grass.

Had a nice walk around whilst waiting for an appointment, lovely stroll and loads to see , stopped for a drink at the lake.

Massive, beautifully laid out city park for all to enjoy. Museums, zoo, gardens, ponds, bike paths everywhere.
Enjoy your time in this park!

Best to see this huge park from a segway or bike to truly appreciate its size. Zoo is great and free! We walked to Delmar Street after a day in the park for Fitz's sodas, floats and ice cream - definitely recommend!

If you find yourself in St. Louis you must visit Forest Park. I believe it to be the largest park in any major city in the US. It is lovely and worth wandering around in. Great place for hikes and of course there is a zoo!

Very clean, beautifully maintained, picturesque landscape and with lakes and buildings. Huge space so very good for those who loves walk around

The art museum, History Museum, Science center, 27- hole golf course, and so many more features make this park a no-brainer when in St Louis!

St. Louis knows what it's doing. This public park, set into the middle of the city, not only allows - but actually encourages - residents and visitors to engage in more regular physical activity. As a public health specialist, I am thrilled whenever I see this sort of intentional design in my travels, and wish very much that every city had something like this available for its residents.

This is a huge city park with lots of beautiful trails for walking/running/cycling. Beautiful vistas await! And several museums and attractions on the grounds as well!

Yes I say this and I am from NYC. STL has the Zoo, concerts, Water, Botanical experiences and more!!!

Of all the great urban parks in the US, this is the only one created to host an Olympics and World's Fair, in the same year. St. Louis pulled off this rare feat in 1904 in large part due to good civic forethought that created this park well before the city reached it which meant most was raw and undeveloped as St. Louis started the 20th Century.
Today the park is a great green asset for a city that totally surrounds it. It has many of the city's amenities like zoo, art museum, history museum, outdoor theater and many pavilions. For these reasons, it is very like you will visit it during any stop in St. Louis. This is a true treasure for any city and a great attraction specifically for St. Louis. This best part is many of these attractions are free.

The central Jewel of St. Louis, Forrest Park has something going on every weekend from festivals and fairs to 5k's - The zoo, the Muny, the Boat House, the Museums - Forrest park has everything to do - and if you are a geocacher there are plenty of cool things to be found

Any visit to St. Louis must include a tour of Forest Park. Awesome amount of things to see and do in Forest Park. Run/walk/ride the trails. Play hand-ball, golf, soccer, baseball, softball. In the winter, ice skate at Steinberg Rink. In the summer just rest, relax or fish along River Des Peres as it traverses the Park. Park attractions include the MUNY summer outdoor theater, the History museum, the Science museum, the Art museum, the St. Louis Zoo, the Jewel Box, Art Hill and Grand Basin, Davis Tennis courts, playgrounds, and party pavilions. This Park is the highlight for visitors to St. Louis. Parking is free. Look for shade and spend a day or 2 just touring the attractions in Forest Park. Exceptional outdoor experience for those who love physical activity.

This is truly a wonderful place, neat, clean, well built and laid out, it has zoo, golf course, museums, ice rink, lakes, walking trails, park areas to play and do several activities, this really amazing to have all this park in middle of the city, truly beautiful and a place you could spend the whole day at with kids or couples.

This Forest park is 1300 acre gem with free attractions like zoo, art museum, and science center. Perfect for picnic, walks, and paddle boating, it offers scenic beauty, rich history, and activities for all ages. A must visit spot!

I felt very safe here and it was a great place to people watch and exercise. I frequent the Chase and just walk across the street.

Beautiful park! Very spacious, well maintained. Nice place to sit or have a picnic. Certainly larger than you might think, so driving or taking a bus from place to place might be recommended.

Lovely park with so much to see and to do. A great day get away for the family. Zoo and museums, its also a great educational trip.

Forest Park was far larger than I expected, and it was good to see it is heavily used by locals (walking dogs, playing lawn games, bicycling) as well as tourists like ourselves. We were most interested in the Art Museum - a building remaining from 100 years ago when my grandfather visited. St. Louis made a wise choice to preserve the area and protect it from commercial development.

One my top 5 parks in USA, its HUGE, lots and lots to do. Art & History museums, golf, basketball, the jewel box, concerts, plays, bike rental & trails, Science center, woodlands, fields, and much more.

I was underwhelmed at the thought of going to this park, when I was invited. And I was SO WRONG to be! It's great! If you stop by the visitor/ information center, you can check out an iPod and learn the history of the park-- the tour was nicely done, giving step-by-step instructions and giving enough history to keep the stroll interesting, but not overwhelming. Totally recommend, if you a nerd like me! :)
The park itself is beautiful, and very well done-- truly, an nature oasis in the urban landscape!

Get a sub sandwich or a bucket of chicken and throw a blanket down anywhere in this park for a great picnic. Go for the Zoo, but don't miss the "Jewell Box", the Boat House, the Fountains, the history and art museum. If you are lucky enough to see Rugby being played, be sure to get out and watch. That is so much fun. Then find out where they are going for drinks after the game. It is a hoot to watch those guys rip each others heads off then buy beers for each other after the game.

Huge park, great for walking, biking, even a golf course. The art museum is great as well as the zoo and the history museum. Numerous events and festivals during the spring and summer.

What an incredible place. With its history (1904 World's Fair site), its natural beauty (lovely trees, ponds and water features), amazing entertainment venues (Zoo, Art Museum, America's largest/oldest outdoor musical theater and Boat House Restaurant and bars), it's easy to spend all day here, which we did. We aren't golfers, but there is a course in the park as well. A family/friends could enjoy shared activities or split up and do different things and link up later in the day, all without having to move the car!

This large park was the home to the 1904 World's Fair. It has wonderful walking trails, Picnic areas, Restaurant, golf courses, Muni outdoor theater, Missouri History Museum, Science center, Art Museum, Zoo, lakes and streams.

So glad they saved this land after the World's Fair. Strolling about, even on a miserably windy and cold day, was so enjoyable. St. Louis has a real gem here.

Walk or drive through here- such a pretty, green space in this city. We would have liked the spend more time exploring the park itself- There are so many great stops here and we enjoyed the art museum accessed here.

A Highly-rated public park that is well-maintained and preserved and conserved by a civic-minded local organization. Site of the 1904 World's Fair the park has many attractions for one to take advantage of. Highly recommended!

Took a drive through the park because I'd read this was the grounds of the 1904 Worlds Fair. I'd recommend you do a little research of the 1904 Worlds Fair just so you can get a feel of what was on the property in 1904. The current park is beautiful and has a zoo, acres of open space, a golf course, amphitheater and the lake which was used in the Worlds Fair where you can rent paddle boats and dine.

Very large city park with lots of things to do. We were trying to find Pavilion 11 and never would have found it without GPS.

Enjoyed a picnic in the park after a bike ride around the park. Great bike/walking trails around and inside the park. Plenty of free parking. Stop at the information center for maps and suggestions.
We took our own bikes. But I think
You can rent bikes there. Beautiful scenery.

This is a must see when in St Louis! You can go here in a romantic date, take your kids and grandkids, or just take walk by yourself!
There is so much to do in Forest Park! And most of it is free! The Zoo! The Art Museum! Beautiful Kennedy Forest for nature walks!
Highly recommend Forest Park for all ages!

We visited Forrest Park while in the area. We saw the world fair pavilion & the zoo. To much to see in one day. If you want to see all the Park has to offer plan on several days., the zoo was great for Free admission. It is a must do activity if you are in the St. Louis area on a small budget

Forest Park truly is one of St. Louis's highpoints. The zoo is spectacular, the entire park is stunning and well-maintained and well-used (it's kind of good to actually see people using a park), and the Muny is a gem in itself.

Shinrin-yoku is forest bathing.
The idea is simple: if a person simply visits a natural area and walks in a relaxed way there are calming, rejuvenating and restorative benefits to be achieved.
Over 30 miles of trails & foot paths, the putter trail ringing the park is over 5 miles, Forest Park is an ideal place in Saint Louis to do just that.
Beautiful restored water system. Victorian footbridge. Museums. Golf course. Nearby train stations. If you're lucky, you might even see an American Mink, like I did near the water. Highly recommended for a

As urban parks go, St. Louie's Forest Park is second only to New York's Central Park, and it's a WHOLE lot cheaper to stay near and enjoy. And then there's that world class zoo adjoining the park!

A magnificently designed park so close to the city limits .It has all kind of sporting facility's beautiful lakes & bird life , It has many walking trails & bicycle tracks

Many people do not know that Forest Park is larger than the famous Central Park in New York City. It's a beautiful Park, well-maintained, and contains one of the greatest zoos in the country along with a beautiful greenhouse, and amphitheatre for the Muny Opera...a golf course and several ponds. A great family outing!

This is a large, well maintained park with a zoo, museums and outdoor theater. We went to the Shakespeare Festival. They were doing Love's Labors Lost. Chairs were available to rent but most people brought blankets and just sat under the stars and watched. It was a beautiful night. We were there the night before and it was rained out. While we were waiting in the car to see if they were going to perform or not, this area in the middle of the city was beautiful. The wind was blowing. It was so peaceful.

Wonderful place for going out with family. Lots of activities don’t let you and your children get bored. You will be delighted at beautiful nature.

This park is the site of the World's Fairgrounds during the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in 1904 - and is still a showplace today. With the World Famous St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Art Museum, and the St. Louis Municipal (outdoor) Theatre [MUNY] - regardless of the season - there is something in the park for everyone. Rent a boat and have a delicious meal - at the boathouse. Walk the galleries of the Art Museum. See a fabulous show in the outdoor theatre. It's also the home of St. Louis Shakespeare Festival each May/June. Other special events happen throughout the year such as the annual balloon glow. Walk by the lake - jog the trails - there's even a golf course in this spacious park. The Jewel Box is a site of many weddings - and is a miniature botanical garden - and well worth a visit. Within this park, thought - I think my absolute favorite is the zoo - where admission is free (even if the parking is not) Forest Park is a St. Louis gem!

I have been to Forest Park many times throughout my life. I have had many chances to see many different parts of it. I love the natural beauty of the park. Its great for people of all ages and its especially great for families. I have been to Arthur's Picnic in the Park there a couple years when I was little. I primarily go to Forest Park for The Balloon Race. My family and I love to watch the hot air balloons take off. We were lucky enough to attend a Balloon Glow one year too. That was incredible.

Forest Park is absolutely gorgeous and offers multiple days of activities. The St. Louis Zoo is on the grounds and is one of the top zoos in the world. It also is free. There are art and history museums, jewel box, paddle boats, iconic spots all there to enjoy. This is a great place for a picnic with family and friends. Enjoy a leisurly walk along one of the many paths. Check out the Pavillion from the 1904 World's Fair.

Beautiful park so big we only had short time to see it will return its so well kept and walked across a nice bridge on the way to the zoo

It was a beautiful sunny day. There were lots of people enjoying the park. We had fun exploring the park and finding several geocaches. The only challenge was the roads are narrow and there is parallel parking along the sides of the road with only a couple small parking lots. On this beautiful fall Saturday, we drove through most of the park before we found a place to park our car to enjoy the park. Most of the time we were in a long line of other cars also trying to find a place to park.

On the outskirts of St Louis you can easily locate Forest Park, there are plenty of places to visit within the park if you have time i.e .the Zoo, some of the views are spectacular and it has some fine monuments and exhibits and quirky pieces of art through out, well worth a visit.

Really beautiful way to be with mother nature in the middle of the city. It is also where you will find the zoo, Art museum, open air theater and much more

Forest Park is 1,300 acres of the nations best urban park, filled with culture and museums! Enjoy the History museum, Art museum, Science Center and the St. Louis Zoo, all within this park! All are free admission with some paid attractions!!! You could easily spend an entire day and more just here! Some of my favorite spots to visit was the Pagoda Circle, Forever Brick Paver Plaza and The Boathouse restaurant, where you can eat & play on the lake. Since we only had one day here, I did not get a chance to check out the other museums or the zoo but would have definitely fit into my agenda if I had another day here.

I think it was the World's Fair. Maybe it was the Olympics. Regardless, Forest Park is a great place to visit. It has a lot of attractions to visit. However, don't go alone, go with a group for safety during the day.

We did not take an extensive tour, but just drove through it for about 15 minute to see what it was like. It was a beautiful day and a nice place to drive through. Maybe if I come back again, I can send more time there.

Once you find a place to park this is a wonderful park with lots of hidden treats depending on what you are interested in experiencing. We enjoy the zoo, museum and just the various trails and off the beat places to picnic or just enjoy being outside.

I lived in St Louis in 1990's and just moved back in 2019. I loved Forest Park then and still love it now. I took my teens and mom for a short drive through, on our way to downtown, and they were just as awed. So much to see that you need a week to really see & do everything!

Great park and our Segway Tour with Zero G was wonderful. What a great way to see Forest Park and have a blast in the process. Highly recommended!

I look forward to Forest Park every time I visit St. Louis. This is the hub of free attractions for the city. Here you can visit (all for free) the zoo, science museum, state history museum, and art museum, as well as a conservatory and festival grounds. Parking is ALWAYS free (except in designated areas near the science museum and zoo) and without time limits. It's also really cool that the park was originally built for the World's Fair in 1904 and there are several artifacts still left from that event (as well as throughout the city).

Forest Park is for everyone, located in St. Louis' central corridor, home to the St. Louis Zoo, the St. Louis Art Museum, the Missouri HIstory Museum. It host restaurants, incredible biking, running and walking trail trails. There are playgrounds for children...more and more
Listen, I could go on and on, BUT if you want to see and experience St. LOUIS, just visit Forest Park because Forest Park is forever. It is my favorite nugget of St. Louis for all.
It is a must EXPERIENCE!

Been going here since I was little and it still amazes me. It bring nature and the city together in a way I haven’t seen many other places. Great for running, biking, or a picnic. Go to the worlds fair pavilion for some frisbee and enjoy the sunset.

I enjoyed the different views at Forest Park. It's a great place to exercise, enjoy a nice day & take pictures.

Very big park that has a lot of activities to do. There are biking routes that cover the perimeter of the park, a zoo, and a visitor center with helpful staff.

We attended the St Louis Forest Park great baloon race: The glow event and race. It was great, but too many people for my taste at the glow, which fappens at night.

Forest Park has been one of the great destinations since 1904.... The St. Louis Community got behind a full restoration of the park beginning in 2000 and have restored the Park to it's original magnificence! Must see if you are visiting!

We could have spent our whole trip to St. Louis here. I'm impressed with the size and gorgeous landscaping. There is so much to do! I loved the bus system and ability to park and go. It was great!

The park is very impressed, it's huge with a lot of different activities and pretty. I don't see a lot of restrooms along the park, and there are few spots to drink water. My favorite part is the boathouse. It's a nice place for picnic. This place is perfect for a walking in the end of the day. I would love to see a cafe or more restaurants in the area, I would spend more time day for sure.

F P hosted the 1904 worlds fair and olympics and boasts some of the original buildings.
It boasts 36 holes of golf that offer vistas of St. Louis seen no where else in the city.
It has one of the best zoos on the world( free) and a spectacular user unfriendly museum.
It has a world class science center and planetarium and 36tennis courts.
It has an outdoor amphitheater and lakes and canals running throughout the park with boat rentals available.
It has a world class ice skating venue and many miles of both biking and walking paths.
It has numerous baseball fields, soccer fields ,handball courts and marvelous restaurants.
It has a $52 million trolley that runs from the Jefferson memorial to blueberry hill in the delmar loop.

We took advantage of Forest Park being, well, a park. There are tons of trails and bike paths that will take you through acres of natural beauty. We walked over a bridge built in the 1880s, sat by a stream and watched ducks, Saw a huge variety of fauna, and still managed to not get lost. Forest Park Forever has worked hard to keep the entire park pristine.

A huge park with the art and history museums, the zoo, ball fields, woods, and a golf course. Free and open to the public. Beautiful year round,

Enjoyed the playground area by the Visitors Center with grand kids. Truly a unique experience with unusual equipment and features not found at other playground

Spent a unseasonably warm day in Forest Park , took a walk on one of the many trails. So many attractions : zoo , Muny, The Jewel Box, Art museum and many 5.

Biked all around the park on a beautiful cloudless morning. Great system of trails and scenic views. Also visited the Washington University campus, which was equally impressive. Some trail sections could use repaving, but that is true of all bike trails.

I took a segway tour through this place and still couldn't see it all. The World's Fair Exhibit, museums, huge open areas, and all the quiet secret paths - I will have to come back to really be able to soak it all in. How do they keep this place so clean?!

Although I have been gone from St Louis for 48 years I return often and ALWAYS visit Forest Park.
This year I got seriously reacquainted with The Muny an 11,000 seat outdoor theatre dedicated to Musicals. Each performance during it's summer run holds 1500 free seats. I literally grew up in those free seats and fell in love with musicals.
I took the backstage tour, ate at the Pavilion buffet restaurant and inhaled to magic of MATILDA.
Read the other reviews to get the breath of what Forest Park has to offer. It is chock a block with a world class zoo, botanical garden, hiking, running trials, waterfall, fountains, boat house, canals, skating rink, handball and tennis courts, restaurant, museums, trolley ride, outdoor Shakespeare and movie nights with food trucks, picnic areas and so much more. Most of it is FREE.

Forest Park was unlike other parks I have been to as it has so much to offer. It is the 2nd largest park in the US (bigger than Central Park) and offers rolling green lawns, a golf course, museums, a zoo, botanical garden, playgrounds, pavilion, movie lawn, paddle boats and much more. Lucky for us we were able to use the electric scooters to get around as this park is HUGE! The museums are free, though some do charge for certain exhibits. We visited the art museum and were blown away at their extensive collection. In front of the art museum is the movie lawn that looks out onto the lake with paddle boats that were the site of the 1904 World's Fair and it is beautiful and well maintained. Since it was a holiday weekend when we visited the zoo was teeming with visitors. Lots of trails for walking, jogging and biking. Beautiful old mansions surround the park too.

Never get tired of coming here. So pretty, so relaxing, and so many things you can do. Fun to come alone or with others. We’ve lived here going on 2 years and this park is a treasure.

There are so many things to do here. The Zoo is free and one of the tops in the country. The park is massive and has plenty of room to find a quiet place to spread a blanket and have a picnic or just relax with a book. Parking can be difficult to find near main sites, but plentiful in other areas. Just enjoy. This is the site of the 1904 Worlds Fair.

The view of the pond from the museum is amazing. What a fantastic park. It was a rainy day so didn’t stay outsid3 much but enjoyed the plants and greenery.

We spent a few hours wondering around the trails in Forest Park today. We walked over some bridges, watched some ducks, sat in the shade. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We rented a paddle boat too.

Forest Park is a national treasure! Because it's conveniently located in the middle of town, I often stop by for scenic walks between appointments. It's also the perfect weekend destination any time of the year. Brace yourself, because you'll end up spending hours there. Definitely one of the very best things that Saint Louis has to offer. Great for all types of visits: couples, families, teens, friends, business and solo.

Huge and nice place for recreation. Beautiful views. Quiet places for relaxing. Perfect for take a walk. It has a Museum and a Zoo as well.
Picnic area. I went by while to breath pure air and I’ve spent over 4 hours around there. Will come back.
New York Central Park wannabe
Nice park, great for walking or any outdoors activities but they could use more things like food trucks and more seats in shaded areas.
