LL Bean Outlet

By Frank D |

Except for the LL Bean Outlet, there is a lot of overpriced merchandise. Go on a nice day to walk around and window shop, then go online to find better sales on quality merchandise.

Very Typical Outlet Mall

By J W L |

It is a perfectly acceptable outlet mall, with the usual selection of stores and prices. Like any outlet mall, the prices all depend on whether you've caught a sale, and the selection depends on what came in. The LL Bean presence is the exception, it is larger, obviously.

Shop to you drop then get up and shop some more

By Momto3boyz |

First week of fall. The sales were crazy wonderful. There are so many choices it really can be a 2 day shopping trip. Love that LL Bean anchors everything. It is so impressive all that LL Bean has, including a nice outlet. Cars actually yield to pedestrians. There were eating options that range from ice cream to local specialties and a few restaurants in the are including Johnny Rockets. My son may be going to college near by. If so this place can get me into trouble with my husband. It was just a pleasant experience.

Rainy day activity

By Claudette C |

We had a rainy day on our trip so went to the shopping outlet. There is a large variety of stores with something for everyone. Some stores had screaming deals while others were more like regular store markdowns. A treasure hunt for sure.

Many outlets

By RagsKP94 |

We stopped here on a Monday afternoon. It wasn't too crowded. The weather was good. I will say it could be a bit of a challenge if you have any physical challenges. The parking and storefronts are on many different levels.

We found the shops very nice and clean, but prices only OK.

First time

By Dprudenc |

I was not expecting to shop during my visit, but nevertheless I bought several items. I like the layout of the outlets. Hopefully they will have more restaurants in the area.

Arrive early and spend the day

By Racmos |

Lots to discover on the main drag including the L.L Bean stores and so many others. You'll need a good pair of walking shoes. Lots of parking but arriving early will afford you the nearest options.

Dining options aplenty in all price ranges.

Hours of shopping & browsing

By Electorny |

On our visit to LL Bean we also spent the day going through the numerous shops in this shopping area.

I enjoyed the Bass Outlet Store and the Sperry Store for incredible discounts on shoes.

Many other famous shops like Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers etc.
I am sure you will find just what you need.

Fun day of shopping

By rachellynn99 |

This really is a great place for shopping. We spent a long time just meandering through the little town. It's not a traditional mall- each store is like a little house. It makes a town. There is quite a bit of waking so good shoes are recommended. The old navy outlet and llbean outlet seemed to have the best deals- others like Patagonia and north face seemed regular price. There are places to eat and rest and grab a snack. Nice day!

I generally hate shopping, but loved it here.

By AS185 |

Freeport outlets are well worth a visit, even for those who do not enjoy shopping. There is something for everyone at a great price. Parking is easy. Everything is in easy walking distance. I especially love north face which was incredibly cheap - I was worried we would need another suitcase!

Freeport Outlets

By BoardingPass309228 |

Some outlets had closed due to Covid but hoping they might return at some point. LLBean is the best store ever for flannel bedding !!

Great shopping. Good deals.

By frugalarnie |

The outlet shopping in Freeport is vast. Dozens of stores. Many places to eat, from fast food to gourmet. From American to Italian to Mediterranean. Know your prices. Look for the sale corners for 50+% more off. Plenty of parking.

Ho-Hum

By joroco19 |

Besides the inconvenience of the layout... having to cross streets, go down side-streets... the selection of stores is pretty dull. I'm sure most people go to see LL Bean and wind up wandering into the other stores. Nothing to see here.

Great Variety

By MEtoFL |

Over the last few years some big improvements here, a great shopping are was built in the middle of the outlets, easy access and a great variety and in the middle of it all something no other outlets have - The flagship LL Bean store. Over all in the same area a great mix of outlets and unique Maine business Plan to spend the day!

Lovely way to spend a day

By Andrea60 |

Great shopping village. LL Bean series of stores including separate stores for Home, hunting and the outlet. Big name brands here along with fantastic local vendors.

LL Bean

By Eli K |

Nice size shopping area. LL Bean is really big in Freeport. They have a huge boot outside their store.

Bring Smelling Salts

By James C |

SHOP TIL YOU PASS OUT. Bring comfortable shoes, a truckload of money give credit cards and a truck. What you can not get here and at L L bean you do not need. It is mind boggling. You must park you car and walk. It is too crowded to drive.

Fun time

By Jan C |

Was fun looking through the outlet stores.Found some good deals. Went back a couple times. Since we do not have them close to home, I enjoyed shopping there.

So, so shopping

By TD363 |

Shops were small and there were a lot less than most outlet malls. Deals were what you would expect.

Not Great

By TheArtemisMoon |

There are only a handful of stores open and a lot of empty ones. Go to LL Bean and grab a rain jacket, maybe some boots, and then move along to better things.

Fun places to shop

By Karen B |

Outlets are spread out and not walkable between outlet stations. There are a few clusters together then you have to drive 1/2 a mile to the next cluster over route 1 which has heavy traffic. The selection of outlets is nice and plan for a few hours at least. Plenty of food selection including a fresh lobster roll place we found outside one of the stores.

Perfect Afternoon

By Julie G |

was spend at the outlet mall. I like that many of the stores are in historical buildings that were converted into store fronts...the McDonald's is in a Victorian house! All of the stores you expect at an outlet: AE, Abercrombie, Nike, etc Of course the anchor store is LL Bean which is huge!! Wander around so you don't miss anything--we didn't realize the selection at first.

Great shopping

By Julie G |

Definitely worth a look if you enjoy outlet shopping. Parking was easy and there was a dedicated parking lot for RVs too. Very dog friendly, most of the stores offered water for your furbaby!
The usual stores included Gap, American Eagle, Banana Republic, Calvin Klein etc etc.

Bean town outlets rain or shine

By KEP12538 |

For a rainy day the Beans parking lots were near full but I felt like covid took its toll on the town and shops. While it’s been about 3 years since I last shopped there, many of what I had hoped to visit were closed. A lot of the store fronts on Main Street were vacant. (Is this a high rent thing??) As always, still a nice place to visit for items on your list but check to see if your faves are still there.

Outlet central

By Tcs6 |

Vast numbers of shops gathered in a compact area. Many of the best names in clothing. A number of restaurants in the same area.

Great deals

By shoconne |

This is one of the best place to shop. Parking is free and plenty. The shops are all in walking distance and provide great rebates. Great place to shop eat and see a movie.

Disappointed

By swim4slim |

Loved the LLBean Store, but the stores were too far apart to enjoy shopping. Have been to better outlets. Prices were not good.

Ugh.

By Angela G |

I live in an area in Michigan where we have access to 90% of all of the outlet stores that are offered. This outlet "mall" was very lack-luster. I was in town for a wedding being held at Wolf's Neck State Park at the Mallet Barn. While the day was sunny and beautiful, it was also about 45 degrees at most. Now I was thinking that I could find something suitable to wear over a semi-formal dress at an entire outlet mall... I was wrong. I ended up at the Old Navy "Outlet" which was WAY more expensive than any other Old Navy store I have ever set foot in. 10% off?! What a deal!! Full disclosure, I am not a size small. Or medium. Or large. I require a size XL, or on occasion a Xxl. I am fine with my size. I however have not felt so shamed to be looking for something above a size large in at least 10 years. I ended up settling for a poncho (yes, a poncho) that resembled a horse blanket. Heaven forbid that in an entire outlet mall that I would have been able to find something to purchase above a size XL. Thanks for that. P.S. The poncho was a size Med/large. Take that.

Freeport not vehicle friendly

By tedmc_12 |

Everywhere there are pedestrian crosswalks which allows the pedestrians to keep constantly walking without regard to their impact on traffic as they continuously cross side streets and US 1. This keeps traffic in gridlock. Vehicles have traffic controls. What is needed is pedestrian walk don't walk controls to give the poor motorists a chance to leave after they have spent their money. Until the pedestrian controls are in place I won't be back.

This is also an exellent place to have lobster. However on this visit, I went to the L.L. Bean store.

By Judie51560 |

The lobster here is wonderful but on this trip I went straight to the L.L. Bean store. It's huge. I found so many wonderful items---even bought a Christmas present for my husband. The service is outstanding.

Small Mall and Outlets, Some Good Deals

By NCT0830 |

Visited with my wife. I shopped in the L.L. Bean, North Face and Patagonia outlets. L.L.Bean outlet had some good deals but it appeared to be mostly returns - no discontinued items. I was particularly disappointed that they didn't have more luggage choices - the only thing I could find were bags that had been embroidered with initials and returned. North Face outlet had a few good items on clearance. Patagonia had no real deals; very small store. L.L.Bean retail/flagship store was huge and very cool but most everything was full price. Also visited the Dairy Queen; had good service from Zeb but it was very small. I can't imagine what it's like in the summer.

Is it Wheelchair Accessible

By Brayden Cream |

Every store was fully accessible accept for bass shoes. The best washroom to go to is the one in the main ll.Bean store.

Good collection

By ramsdesk |

Though a small set of shops nestled inside the arch, they have good collection. Coach has a good discount sale, Corelle has good ones too.

Shopping

By David B |

Truly not place to shop. Certain items cheaper on Amazon. Other pricing not really worth the saving to drive up to.

Great place to find good deals

By Whistler65 |

Overall Very nice variety of shops

Some stores have great deals & some do not!
Particularly enjoyed the J Crew , Coach, & Walking Company

Another great find is Gypsy Rose resale shop...fun store with great selections

These stores also had excellent customer service

Look forward to visiting again next year

Thank you!

By ShellBoss |

Lovely area for leisurely shopping outlet stores. Great basic variety: talbots, banana republic, old navy, LLBean, lids, Nike, etc!

Disappointed at the hype

By sheri d |

We headed there to solely go to Llbean, WELL WORTH IT, we inadvertently drove past the factory too, which was on our way to The Desert of Maine

Awesome visit to L.L. Bean

By Frank P |

I thought that LL Bean was simply a very good mail order store. Much should my surprise it is also, in Freeport, a multi-story, very large, department store with a cafeteria on the bottom level. Everyone in the store was extremely helpful in getting us what what we needed. I highly recommend a visit to the Store which is open 24×7. It is much better than any other department store.

Shop 'till you drop

By catskill2016 |

Great way to conquer the back to school list for clothes and supplies. The LLBean mothership store has everything you could possibly need - and likely more. The Nike outlet is always the spot for cool sneakers at a better price. We've been coming to Freeport to gear up for September with the kids for a few years now, and it's always perfect. It's also perfect for a little splurge at the Coach outlet - they were having a 50% off sale that made the discounted merchandise even more affordable. Great selection too!

Love Freeport!

By Da2Dillons |

The outlets are set up nice and it is s great place to walk around. Thought the clearance racks had deals worth buying, some of the outlet prices seemed high for an outlet. Good food in the area.

Omg

By Happy7ravler |

So its a "town" of shops. All outdoors, not interconnected. They do have free parking...so for the non shoppers their is a distillery...yeah treat yourself

Nice selection

By kesneuen |

Outlets are clean. Selection ranges for all ages. I Always enjoy coming here to shop! Definitely has changed over the last few years but still good!

Please leave your air condition on in October!

By Andre M |

We spent one morning in Freeport to do some shopping at L. L. Beanas soon as they opened.
I deducted one star, because it was very hot inside the mothership store (the one with the huge boot in front of the entrance door), especially while waiting forever at the cashier.
This was the first week of October and it was definitely too early to turn off a. c. inside the store.
Had there been a. c., we definitely would have spent more time in the store and would have bought more. So saving electricity won't heighten your profit, dear people at L. L. Bean.

We were also looking for postcards (very hard to find these days!) and were lucky at Sherman's bookstore at 128 Main Street.

Outlets, outlets, and m ore outlets

By Joel W |

Between the LLBean Flagship Store that is open 24hrs 365 days per year (no locks on the doors) to the dozens of outlet and souvenir shopping stores, you definitely need to visit Freeport. Lots of places to eat and more shopping than you will believe.

A little bit of everything for everyone

By USMCRip |

I/we have been going to these outlets for years and if you are a shopper you will enjoy your visit. If you look around almost every outlet store is represented here.
Of course LL Bean is the main attraction.
My only complaint is they could use a few most rest spots and bathrooms.
Stop Visit and Enjoy
You'll be back.

No deals

By Ghosty Mcghostyhead |

Prices are crazy high. $300 rain coats at all of these places. No wonder retail is going under. Not a lot of checking out but a lot of browsing.

Just stopped in for an afternoon

By swampfoxmom |

Wanted to check out the LL BEAN outlet store- busy and lots to see from men and women's clothing to housewares to dog stuff abd camping equipment- great store!

Nice for shopping if passing through

By orleykathleenm |

Some of the stores, like Llbean flagship, carried mostly fully priced items. The outlets had good to very good prices but on a rather limited selection. After 6 p.m. or so the city becomes very quiet and most places are closed.

Clean town

By Ern3kel |

Clean for the hustle and bustle of outlets. Went there mainly for LL Bean. Thought it would be more rustic and original. Will buy the stuff online next time.

Love

By DCgirl42 |

Such a great little outdoor outlet mall! Loved walking around, smelling the fresh air going from store to store. Lots of great bargains to be found! LL Bean and Vineyard Vines are my faves!

Shopping trip

By 943evem |

Disappointing
Prices were high for outlet shopping and few stores to choose from but worth the stop

Good outlet shopping

By Karen D |

You have to be in a walking mood to shop these outlets. Very hilly and alot of stairs. The shops are your average outlet and the prices are also just average. The big draw is the LL Beane shops of which there are several.

Visited the Freeport village Station

By Scubach |

Across the street from the main LL Bean Store is the Freeport Village station with a variety of outlets. Some didn't appear to be open, or maybe were changing hands?
We stopped in Old Navy and got some great deals - and for one item, not in stock in this store - the clerk just ordered it to be sent home - free shipping.
Corningware - enjoyed the newer items, and also a good place to get matching pieces for most sets you might have. Or that new baking pan/dish.
Lindt- just have to get a few truffles.
LL Bean outlet - mostly last season items - some bargains, some not.
Parking lot adjacent to this complex, was quite full.

Little disappointing

By mart00Georgia |

I was there probably about 5 yrs ago, and remember more stores being there. Just went there last week, and found fewer stores. The prices were not outlet prices, either. Hardly any Maine stores, just the usual chain stores you can find any where.

Well worth a visit

By Neil C |

A small by USA standards outlet village. Some big shops like UA and Patagonia. Staff on all the shops are amazing. Some stuff ( especially North Face is cheaper in UK)

Few places to eat and some local shops.

Well worth a visit.

Great Values

By Joshua P |

Lots of choices and great values to be had at the Freeport outlets. Though the big star is LL Bean. We had a lot of fun shopping and finishing deals. Make sure you are early as several of the stores close up earlier than others while LL Bean rocks on 24 hours.

Nice

By fellacher |

Nice town to walk around with a nice variety of shopping. Pleasant New England atmosphere. As years have gone by bean has taken over many vacant shops . Bean does a nice job of decorating during the holidays

Not as impressed as before

By scranton38 |

It feels like stores might be dropping out of here. No Nike outlet? The LLBean outlet is smaller than others I’ve been to and packed with people. I’d have called it average, but it has a Patagonia outlet that I can usually find one or two good deals at. Parking is usually easy, so that’s a big plus.
We happened to be there when a watermelon festival was going on and that was great.

Lots of stores

By Dragonbaby |

Good deals but you need to make sure you look. For example, I was looking for an ultralight down sweater. It was cheaper online with coupon. But my husband bought chinos for $6 each.

Need holiday gifts?

By Lisa D |

Just spent my second annual shopping trip in Freeport. The town is extremely walkable and easy, food parking, and the deals are very good. Especially north face, coach, and even llbean. A lot of fun with friends and the town is friendly.

Great Retail Therapy

By VMoo63 |

Great range of shops which easy parking. Coach and Adidas had the best discounts. Some of the shops such as Tommy Hilfiger did not have much difference in price. LL Bean homeware to lovely but outrageously expensive.

Great shopping

By Charles T |

We had a great time visiting many stores and getting discounted purchases on many namebrand items. Of course you must spend time in the L.L. Bean store that is thousands of feet in size. The area is full of activities in great restaurants to enjoy during your day. Highly recommended for some great buys in a quick trip through town.

Rainy day

By Eataroundwoburn |

Visited here on a rainy day. Have been here many times The same things year after year but always a place to visit. The visitor centers always have coupons and bonus parking is free

Some good Finds!

By Anna & Jason |

We stopped here during the journey and were pleasantly surprised. Some great bargains in Ralph Lauren and flavours of Lindt we had never seen before, including free tasters! A delicious whoopie pie store is just down the road too, well work stopping if you're driving through!

Spend Some Time and Not So Much MOney

By pumpkinj2017 |

There are outlets galore as well as LL Bean main stores. Fun to walk the narrow streets and discover new places. Nice little restaurants and cafes around for lunch or early dinner and great for souvenir shopping with Maine's finest t-shirts with moose and bear on them. Parking is plentiful and free either in LL Bean's massive parking lot or sometimes, if lucky, right on the street. Some stores require walking up or down hills and the walk can be steep and problematic for those who do not ambulate well. Pretty B & B's for those who want to stay overnight

Freeport’s Outlets Offer Something for Everyone

By MaineMountainOwl |

Times have changed among Freeport’s shopping outlets. Among departed and missed outlets were Calvin Klein, Van Heusen, Cole Haan, and Reebok. Those that remained often had reduced open hours. Among those I found to be worth a visit were North Face, Patagonia, Sperry, LL Bean, Brooks Brothers, Talbot, and J Crew. LL Bean had both an outlet store and its large flagship campus in the village center. Outlet discounts were often 30% to 70% off retail. Shernan’s Books was also a great place to find souvenirs of Maine. Service was fast and super friendly in every store I entered. Along the main and side streets were plenty of places to eat and drink. Free parking was abundant off side streets, including big lots and a two-level garage. Area maps were available. An Amtrak station was nearby. Sidewalks were uneven at times. Crosswalks were frequent. I most liked the area’s unique combination of brand name outlets and local retailers; I disliked only the limited hours and absence of formerly present outlets.

Disappointed.

By Human13579 |

I expected to be able to find a whole bunch of bargains but walked away with very little. Felt like a wasted trip in a way.

Great places

By Nancy H |

We visited Freeport and were surprised to find so many shops from different merchants. The LL Bean store is first class and open 24 hours. The area is well kept and parking is easy to find off the main road. Go and find a bargain or something you have wanted.

Loved Freeport Atmospher

By Lorise W |

What a great little town to stop, browse all the shops and enjoy the atmosphere. Loved how all the outlet stores looked like a little coastal town.

Great selection

By DebsGM |

Tons of stores, great selection, & decent prices! Various staff were friendly & helpful! Kids loved exploring in LL Bean :)
I’m not a huge donut person, but I can’t wait to try Frosty’s (they were closed when we got there)!

Typical shopping town

By BladeGuy603 |

LLBean is the big draw here. Factory headquarters and flagship store but also an outlet down the hill. Almost all the stores your looking for to spend the day and all your money

A lot of copy cats

By J-from-Marysville |

My wife and I usually shop at several stores while visiting. Most of the time, we find no savings over purchasing the same items back home.

LL Bean seems to be the best shopping option.

Your back to school shopping

By Mike H |

We visit Maine at least once a year and love stopping at the outlets to get great deals . We also like to stop at the Northface outlet to get our winter jackets and accessories.

Great shopping

By TravelingJan08 |

Great variety of stores, something for everyone.

Sweet little town with tons of character and very well kept. Just the right size for walking around.

LL Bean Outlet

By ZeelandScoutMom |

We stopped at the LL Bean Outlet store. You have to look, but there are great items in this store. Many other variety of stores are also in the outlet area. There are stairs and an elevator to get to the second floor to shop.

A fantastic place to shop.

By markp0298 |

This was a fantastic place to shop. The stores are top shelf. There is plenty of parking to get to any store you want to go to. You need to be ready to spend a lot. Service was excellent at all the places we visited. We spent a lot of time there. We will have to go back to the area to see everything else that is available. We only stayed four days in the area and would go back to have romantic fun. The seafood cannot be beaten. It was the best I’ve had in a long time.

Love the Freeport Outlets

By Snowbird29 |

Freeport is a shopper's dream. The variety of outlets found there is amazing. Just to visit for the LL Bean store is enough, but all the others top it off. There are amazing deals and all types of stores to meet the needs of any shopper. The one drawback is trying to find a decent place to eat in the midst of all the stores. Good luck. The choice is limited and those that are near outlets always have a wait.

Prices still too high. Not worth the trip.

By Elizabeth H |

We went to buy clothing for husbands and sons. We didn’t find good deals in many of the stores and the sale items were still very still high priced.
Lunch at a restaurant was reasonably priced and we enjoyed our food.
We actually found name brand clothing on sale for less than Freeport in a strip mall in New Hampshire.
For sure we won’t return to Freeport any time soon.

Cute outlets

By Kate |

They had my favorites. Dooney & Bourke, Vineyard Vines, Ralph Lauren, the Cosmetic Store, Brooks Brothers. Not a whole lot of stores which I didn't mind. LL Bean is the main game in town and didn't disappoint.

Shopper’s Paradise!

By LifesJourney54 |

All the good ones are here! Plus it’s right across the street from the huge L L Bean Stores. We stayed at the Candlebay B&B which is close enough to walk to the shops.

ABUNDANT CHOICES

By JI M |

Primarily went to the LL Bean location. Everything in their catalog + + + A few items not in the catalogue. Outlet is stocked with customer returns & 30% off. A few items not in the catalogue. Other stores were inviting, but I had scenic things on my bucket list.

Black Friday Shopping

By HotelYSJ |

We have done Black Friday Shopping in Bangor and Augusta the last few years. This year we started our shopping in Freeport. We started at midnight and shopped for a few hours. It was a very festive atmosphere. It was not over crowded like the malls.

Tourist trap

By Dinoandkim |

Unless you're dead set on going to LL Bean I'd skip this because of traffic and the prices were not much if any cheaper than a mall in your hometown

Some great finds!

By 137JenniferB137 |

We found some great bargains at this outlet. It seemed a little discombobulated in the layout to me but was very walkable. Loved the Vinyard VInes store especially. Parking seemed to be plentiful.

Fun times in Freeport

By Carmie H |

Some great shops but some are a little on the expensive side. Great choce of restaurants to pick from.

Not to be missed

By Miss Ele |

Whenever in New England USA you must detour to Freeport. Wonderful places to stay, to eat - OMG the lobster - and last but not least to shop. It is our favourite outlet shop in the states. It’s got the lot. Bring an empty suitcase and/or car - you’ll need them.

Clean and pretty

By ShogunMarine |

Visit was pleasant. Staff in stores were kind and helpful. This app is stupid for requesting 100 characters

Excellent selection

By khpalkow |

Lots of store varieties to choose from...local products to national brands available. Within walking distance from our hotel.

Sept Vacation Stop

By RDHOG-Kenny |

Had a Stop over in Freeport and visited a few of the local outlet stores! Very Nice, great place, friendly staff, and the town is pretty, clean, and has lots of shops.

Lots of Shops

By FlorenceYall3030 |

All the outlets are a nice addition to the LL Bean store. For us, we have most all of the same outlet stores about 30 miles from where we live. Was not anything new or exciting. If you don't have in close proximity, I can see where this would be a big draw.

Busy Outlet Center

By Felicia B |

There are several outlets at this center. Probably LLBean is the best known and most frequented. It has two locations in fact. One is stocked with merchandise returned for various reasons and ready to be resold at discount. That is also where you can return merchandise that has not worn well or lived up to its promise.
Whatever major brand you seek, there is probably a store for it at this center. Food, art, home decor, clothing, sporting goods all have stores here.

Well done outlet area

By Kathy W |

Our purpose was to visit the LL Bean store, but were so impressed at LL Bean having several stores as well as the selection of outlet stores that were in the area. This quaint town has not being ruined by all the traffic and shoppers.

A job well done by Freeport!

It's an outlet mall.

By Traveler |

Your typical stores here that you'd find at any other outlet mall across the US. The one redeeming store is the LL Bean Outlet, they had some amazing deals on their staple items! Worth checking out before you hit the big headquarters store.

Great shops and convenient parking!

By Glidr |

We mainly went to see the L.L. Bean Outlet store, but also found Nike, Orvis, Van Husen's among others. My wife found a very well priced blouse and I bought two fine flannel shirts from L.L. Beans.

Excellent Outlet shopping

By Trvlvt |

Great Outlet shopping, and wonderful LL Bean-open 24 hours! parking garage and other ample parking. recommend Tuscan Bistro for lunch or dinner.

Something for Everyone

By Mari L |

Freeport is an interesting place to visit. Yes, there are the outlets, including the mothership known as LL Bean. The area is very walkable and the brick walkways add a nice touch. I like the fact that there were artisan carts mixed in around the retail shops. These local vendors add a product diversity that made shopping for unique gifts, well unique. Don't miss the bookstore because there's some great merchandise to select from as well (the free apple cider and cookies were a nice touch as well). This area makes for a great day trip if you are on vacation and it's only about 45 minutes north of towns like Ogunquit and Wells if you take I-95. Enjoy!

A Disappointment

By Cruiser9901 |

I had high hopes for the LL Bean outlet store; sadly it was a HUGE letdown. It is a VERY small store with limited selection. I didn't think the markdowns were all that great, for the most part. There was a lot of traffic in there, but not much to choose from considering the size of the company.

Nothing special but they do have some good deals

By Dan F |

I have been here several times. The Eddie Bauer Outlet is the best stop! This area does not have a large selection of nice food places. If you are here at lunch time all are very busy.

Crowded & overpriced for outlet stores

By Carole S |

These outlet stores were extremely crowded especially LL Bean. The prices were high for outlet stores. It wasn't even fun to walk around because people were actually rude.

Lots of stores

By SEBWLO |

There are lots of stores. They are spread out so have to walk aways to get to some of them. The town is nice and worth stopping.

Freeport Trip 2015

By Sandra N |

The "village" in Freeport has a lot of choices for shopping. Window shopping is fun too. Parking is easy too.

Plenty of Outlets

By Bob S |

Wow - didn't realize all the outlet stores around LL Bean - something for everyone but be sure to check all the streets - shops underneath - they are spread all over, many local shops, cafes, coffee places mixed in that are worth a visit too. Great town plan to spend the day here!

Similar Outlets lots of other places

By M616M |

The Corning store had some great values, as did the L.L. Bean outlet. Otherwise, all the same outlets you find in Prime Outlets or places like Manchester, VT.

Nice stores

By winefan2016 |

This is definitely a tourist trap but it is well worth the trip. LLBean of course... but many other store brands you will readily recognize. Great restaurants and plenty of free parking

Frequent visitors

By lauramkp2 |

We live relatively close to the Freeport outlets and will stop by on a regular basis, most often on a weekend. We usually stop in because we are looking for something specific, or just to have lunch or dinner. It can get a bit crowded, especially on rainy days in the summer, so it is best to plan accordingly. During the tourist season, we tend to stop in around late afternoon, when the crowds are starting to wind down. The shopping is OK, but I wish there were more clothing stores.

Small outlets but good

By GardeningMom42 |

Compared to our outlets at home (PA), they were much smaller. However, they were built to not take away from the town and match the architecture. Great deals at the Nike outlet! This isn't the kind of outlets you drive to Freeport for but if you're in town, it's worth a stop.

High priced and disappointing

By Karen M |

Not a good selection or clothing for those who are a little heavy. Parking was good.
Noticed that one dip of ice cream was over $4.00!

Nothing special.

Beautiful way to shop the outlets

By RodFamTvls |

Other reviewers complained about the layout and parking but I found no problem with both. The shops are layed out across a few square blocks with plenty of parking and lots of restaurants. The stores look typical Maine which makes it quite quaint. We went on a Wednesday afternoon around 4pm. No crowds. Perfect to stroll in the shops. Great finds at Calvin Klein for the teen. Bummed that we found a donut shop after they were closed. Most stores open til 9pm.

Ok, there's better out there

By James K |

The prices aren't as good as outlets elsewhere, and the shops have various closing times, so you could end up missing some if you arrive in the evening.

Nice day

By Judith484 |

You can spend the whole day strolling up and down the streets and in and out of all the stores. There is ample free parking and lots of little places to eat. Ice cream and pizza, coffee shops and donut shops.

Great experience at Patagonia, llbean and north face. Staff could not have been nicer they greeted us with our dog with welcoming smiles and were very helpful with my 14 year old finding a winter jacket. Several staff at Patagonia gave my dog a treat but very politely asked first. It’s such a nice place to shop

Back to School

Built on the success of L. L. Bean, Freeport may be the most recognized name in the outlet mall industry. Beautiful community of shops and restaurants. Fun for the whole family.

Great Selection of Stores

By tshep42 |

There are lots of outlet stores to choose from. Some are better than others, of course, but most give you deep discounts. The Coach store had fantastic prices. There are awoke souvenir stores that aren’t outlets and charge full retail. Then, of course, is HQ for L. L. Bean. They have a number of stores from clothing, household, outdoor, and an outer store.

It is all walkable, unlike Kittery. Get there early, grab a parking spot and have fun walking around. Plan to spend at least a half day and, much better, the whole day. There are lots of places to grab a bite to eat.

A Day in Freeport

By drgreek |

While staying in Portland Maine I decided to take a Saturday drive to Freeport and check out the outlet stores. What a beautiful drive it was!! The LLBean store was sponsoring the Boy Scouts with a day of activities, I really enjoyed seeing all the boys walking around, laughing, and having a great time. There were so many stores to choose from and some I was unfamiliar with, which was great. Had yummy donuts and coffee at Frosty's, went to the historical society building next door to check out the local history, had warm soup for lunch, and ended up spending four hours just walking around. What a great day!!!

Visit the L. L. Bean Outlet store in freeport

By Artist of memories |

This might be their largest outlet. They have all sizes of women and men's clothes, shoes, and many other items. I found all sizes of shirts and pants for men. Everything is arrange by size and colors so a great store. They were having a sale for the store besides being reduced for being in the outlet Some things are returned but most are new. You can't help but find what your are looking for. If you can't go over to the main store about two blocks away. There is a parking garage underneath the outlet with an elevator that takes you right up to eh store level. There are change rooms and bathrooms inside.

Freeport,Maine=shopping

By Ccari01 |

This maybe a town synonymous with shopping but the feel of a small New England town is preserved by the architecture of the stores. There are outlets of most name brands. The LL Bean store is a showcase of merchandise and exhibits that proudly display Maine. The Linda Bean restaurant has delicious seafood and lobster rolls. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn,which was a short walk from the Main Street.

It takes a lot of patience and energy, depending on when you go.

By NHjo |

We went to L. L. Bean for a while and visited a few outlet stores and specialty stores. There were hundreds of people because it was the start of Labor day Weekend and many sales. It got a little too crowded for us. Just driving through the major intersection of town was a nightmare because of all the vehicles and pedestrians crossing all over the place. This would have been the prime time to have a traffic cop -- the Labor Day Weekend Saturday around noon.

Had a good time exploring a few stores.

By cakedeco |

I'm not a big shopper but we had fun checking out a few of the stores in Freeport. I found a great pair of sandals at the Bass store with 60% off the already discounted price. Checked the LL Bean outlet but most of the merchandise seemed to be wanting. The spirits store had some nice gin and rum samplings.
If you go, you can download some coupons on the internet before leaving home which will save you a bit more at several stores.

Have been to many Ralf shops eg Gun Wharf, ashford, Bicester and found many bargains ie 3 for 2 deals and bargain rails. This shop was very expensive compared to those I’ve mentioned and there were no children’s wear. Very disappointed.

nothing special

By sanitationgirl2000 |

the outlets are all spread out and you have to keep jumping in and out of the car and it gets quiet annoying. The stores are over priced and i rather just wait to go to another outlet at another time to deal with all that

AWESOME SALES WITH LOTS OF HIGH END STORES

By Maria & Rick |

Travelling the U.S. for 2 months with wife. We spent the day in Freeport till we caught the train late afternoon to Boston so my wife decided to go shopping while wasting a day & I am glad she did. Great prices in Calvin Klein, Northface & Nike store. LL Bean store is HUGE but not interested in it for us but if you are campers you will love this store they have everything & it is a huge store 3 levels. Did buy some fudge from there though. Freeport itself is a lovely town and very tidy.

Free parking

By EFW2014 |

Parking is free as long as it’s not on route one. Lots of stores to peruse, all having sales banners in their windows. LL Bean is remodeling the flagship store. Look for the giant “tent” for all LL Bean outdoor wear.

Great

By Russellerikl2678 |

This is a great little area that we all really enjoyed. Plenty of shops and we found some great prices

Nice place to spend a day or weekend

By NHjo |

It's an attractive area to shop and stroll around. L. L. Bean is the flagship store, of course, but there are several other nice stores and shops of all types, lots of restaurants, bars, cafes, a few ice cream and chocolate shops, a brewery, several pocket parks and benches to take a break, outdoor entertainment, and so on. Every place we went into exercised pandemic precautions -- masks, hand sanitizer, social distancing, etc.

Great sales during 4th of July week

By AnnetteMarie332 |

I was skeptical of the prices in the outlets (sometimes they are higher than the actual stores when they have sales); however, that wasn't the case this time.
We were only able to buy a small amount (due to luggage restrictions) but would have purchased more because the clearance prices were so cheap.
If not for the clearance deals, I wouldn't be leaving such a race review.

Great shopping to be had in Freeport

By Sally R |

We really had a good time at the Freeport outlets. Basically the whole Main Street plus a mini mall are all outlets shops and proper ones not just a few dollars on some items. Favourites were Abercrombie and Fitch ( they have a clearance floor within the outlet taking another 30% off) and Polo Ralph Lauren. Nike was also very good. We have Christmas already sorted out for this year. We did have to visit the LL Bean store (not an outlet) to buy another suitcase!! Highly recommend a visit here. Not just for shopping it’s also a great place to stay.

Something for everyone

By Leslie C |

Area has a variety of shops for women, men, and kids spanning clothes, shoes, sporting goods, cookware and more. There is also a movie theater for those not into shopping and eateries of different price ranges.

Shopping Outlet

By Wanda J |

Walked around and visited some shops. Bought rain jackets at LL Bean outlet. Lots of stores still closed. A good way to kill some time and get some items.

LL Bean is the Place To See

By 406Foodie |

Nothing special other than LL Bean. If you have never been to an LL Bean store you need to stop and see their flagship store. Extremely large shopping complex.

Good day out for shopping and eating

By RYC88 |

It's nice to wander around the streets and see the variety of vendors. Don't fall into the trap of thinking the stores that say they are outlets truly are. You have to search through the items to find the real deals, as they stock many things that are the same price as their regular stores. Don't forget to stop at L.L. Bean, that place is huge! If it's raining or snowing, be prepared with umbrellas and boots, as there is no cover between stores. Parking can be tricky in the busy summer months, but it is free when you find a space.

Nice town, easy to navigate.

By Kelly S |

Easy to walk around and shop from place to place. Easy parking. Family friendly environment. Food, shopping deals and a place to stroll around. Stay at the Hilton for the closest hotel!

Open 24 hours virtually all year

By PeterGardenCity_NY |

LL Bean's flag ship store in Freeport has been a destination for generations. The products are well made and durable. The staff is knowledgeable and ready to help. The guarantee is legendary. The store is spacious and well designed.

Great outlet selection

By Janice47931 |

Nice selection of stores! I would say very good for school shipping for both boys and girls! The deals are pretty good!

Shopping

By Cheryl T |

This outlet was nice, there are tons of shops, namely the LL Bean Outlet. I wouldn't make a trip just to come to this outlet unless I'm going to LL Bean since it is mostly made up of stores you can find anywhere.

Loved shopping here!

By Mariah H |

The Freeport Shopping Outlets are so nice! They are the perfect size - just the right amount of stores and there is a store for everyone no matter your age, size, or interests! There are places to eat, shop, sit, and walk around. You don't need to spend too much time here like at some outlets, just a nice area to stop, look around and maybe find a cute outfit in the process!

LL Bean Shopping Spree

By Tina H |

I love LLBean and it's snow boots. No other boots will go on my son's feet in the winter. The store is clean, the employees are very friendly and helpful. I definitely can recommend this store!

Great variety of outlets!

By mrvnsu |

Several outlets we have at home, but many were unique to this area, which made it interesting and fun! Many offered free shipping with a minimum purchase and some even waived the shipping charges

Small Outlet Complex

By trophywest |

My wife had fun here. Since LL Bean is across the street, it made an easy addition to the shopping. It's not a big outlet shopping area but enough for the ladies.

LLBEANLAND

By Maria C |

What an impressive and amazing visit to LL BEAN Flagship store. they have cafe, photo op, band stand for music and movie events, several buildings. Everyone is wonderful. I wanted to move in immediately.

Quaint shopping district

By lovetravel2 |

This is a quaint little shopping area in Freeport Maine. There are a few deals you just have to search them out. There were some stores closed, that stated on the door they were supposed to be opened. That was upsetting, but otherwise a great way to spend a few hours.

Tons of shops with big discounted prices!

By hideaway799 |

We spent a few hours shopping around today. Nice quality shops all with discounted prices. Buy one get one half price deals, etc. Friendly shopkeepers. Lots of restaurants, and a train station so you can come from afar! Also lots of cute inns within walking distance. We stayed at James Place Inn. I highly recommend this Inn!!

Shopping at its finest

By Shelley R |

Every year I come to Freeport for just that reason. The shopping, llbean Nike they are all here and so worth a trip to this beautiful state. You can have lunch at beans shop for just about anything your hearts desire is. I love coming here even just to people watch.

The usual outlets

By Shamr0ckG |

It’s raining and chilly in Freeport so the outlets are a good diversion. Didn’t find too many bargains. Be sure to visit the LLBean outlet. Got laughs at seeing monogrammed items that were returned and now for sale. Lucked out and found a backpack with my initials...I know, what are the odds?

Sunday Afternoon

By Tom B |

While in Freeport we saw the shopping outlets and decided to stop. Average outlet center. Worth a stop if you are in town.

Great outlet mall

By Chris B |

Many great deals here: Coach, Polo, Dooney & Burke, Cole Haan, and more. We arrived by cruise ship and took a taxi (many at $40). We arranged with the driver to come pick us up later as there were not any cabs in Freeport. The Flagship LL Bean store is a mist stop.

Nice outlet area!

By Reviewsbymom |

Nice area and very well laid out. Park in one of the lots for LL Bean and then walk through the store to get to the outlets outside. Nice way to spend a few hours. There is a DQ within the outlet area or McDonald's and subway just around the corner.

Pretty Good

By 8pixel |

We stopped by during our visit to LL Bean in December. Pretty good selection of stores leaning a little towards higher end brands. Area is quaint and easily walkable as opposed to an area like Kittery. Decent food offerings as well. Can easily have a nice afternoon shopping here.

Christmas shopping for everyone

By _kb1chu |

I have four kids and seven grand kids. The age span is four months to forty years. My wife and I have found Christmas presents for all of the here one trip or another . We don't always find everyone gifts here but we put a huge dent in our shopping list. I've even been lucky enough to have her wander off shopping so I can pick up a surprise for her. We stopped at LL Bean to find the whole store at twenty five percent off. Is real nice to buy a high quality item for the price of average goods. From kids to tweens to teens you can find deals at North Country, The Gap, Old Navy and Vineyard Vines to name a few.
Foodies will like the easy pickings. There are restaurants from burger joints to gourmet dining available within easy walking distance. Several excellent candy shops are on side streets for the thirsty ones coffee and other adult beverages are available.
My wife and I have been going up to Freeport for years to do our shopping and have already made reservations for next year.

Amazing shopping experience

By MaryTravelling2014 |

Its worth just for getting to know the flagship store of LLBEAN but all the shops were great...had to buy an extra suitcase to bring it all back home. Great sports gears at North Face and LLBean (blows your mind away...from kayaks to...well..everthing sports related)

Leisure

By Vakation101 |

Quaint shopping campus anchored by LLBean
Flagship stores. Coach was great w/ 60% add’l discount storewide! Disappointed in the limited selection at Clark’s. Nice offering at North Face. A few restaurants/eateries & shops were closed, due to day of wk, seasonal, or moved out all together. All parking is free & easily accessible in May but heard very busy in summers. We’re from Dallas & similar deals can be found at home but Freeport has cooler weather for walking. Nice experience & campus to visit.

Go over a long weekend

By Candice P |

I've been to Freeport twice now, and found the selection of stores great for a small outlet village! However, the deals aren't always good, especially if you are a Canadian traveling to the US and have to worry about the exchange. Best time to go is over any long weekend-- I went over Labour Day weekend and Easter weekend, and the sales were on everywhere!

P.S. Wear comfy shoes, it will take you longer than intended to get through all the stores you want to visit.

dynamic

By 3NuCorneas |

Freeport outlets and all shopping has boomed in this town! there is parking off virtually very side street, restrooms in designated areas and many places to have a long relaxing lunch or a quick bite to get back to shopping. the outlet area has almost tripled since the late 90's - a must see

This is the BEE'S KNEES

By Adrianne W |

I want to drive all the way back to Maine (from SC) just for Freeport. We arrived in the morning on a very crisp fall day. The wind was a bit...refreshing, but otherwise, it was very nice. The GINORMOUS L.L. Bean store was quite entertaining, what with the cabiny atmosphere they have created. The shops were typical of an outlet mall. The special part is the layout. The whole little downtown area is shopping. It's got a concentrated but not overcrowded spread. Some of the shops, like the Banana Republic, are in houses that have been converted to stores without destroying the original architecture. There's a kitchen shop right down the corner by the parking garage that isn't really part of the outlet experience. However, it is a thousand times worth a visit. I loved this adorable place.

all about the Bean

By bunnyblue819 |

unfortunately not many shops, the new world we live in, but the ones open were helpful and friendly. Good dis traction. Oh and if you love LLBean , you're in luck because it is larger than life!

Nice Mall

By Sandy M |

This outlet mall was nice and clean. It's spread out over several blocks so there's a lot of walking. The LL Bean stores anchor just about everything. Plenty of restrooms and they are clean. It's a nice place to spend a few hours or an entire day. Free parking!

Great shopping!

By hotgranny |

Love to shop these outlets! Especially with L.L.Bean! Could use more restaurants though. There is also a L.L.Bean outlet.

Great stores! Great Bargains!

By alwaysathebeach |

We went to Cuddledown (saved a ton of money on linens with their sale), LL Bean and the other stores. Its definitely worth the trip! Fun to explore the area outside the outlets as well...found a chocolate factory to tour, and a couple of antique/consignment shops. Fun!

Super place to visit

By Donna N |

From the selection of shops to the lobster shack on the side of LL Beans that is delicious this place is great. So many big names here or nearby. It's a must do if you are in the area!

Amazingly Surprising....

By Dev R |

We discovered this place on our way to Augusta from Boston after visiting Portland. We accidentally took exit which got us here and we just loved this place. We parked our car in public parking and spent 2 hours walking around.

Me and my wife loved this place. Structure of shopping outlets on both side of the main shopping street are like small individual house which i really loved different than our usual shopping outlet.

Along with shopping you will find best restaurants, Subway, Starbucks. Complete walk is about 2 miles one way. Got to see fall colors around.

Nice place to spend evening if you are not into shopping totaly!!

Interesting Stretch of Shopping

By DKPuck |

If shopping is your thing, then this stretch of shopping in Freeport is the place to be. Large number of outlets with plenty of eating and parking. Free parking too!

Beautiful place

By 278Julie |

First time I see a so beautiful outlet right in downtown. Nice to walk through. Lots of different stores.

A Whole Town of Outlets

By John M |

For those of you that like outlet shopping, this is the town for you. Loads of shops anchored by the LL Bean corporate store plus outlet store. Lots of places to eat and plenty of parking, although on busy weekends you might have to walk a bit.

Nice assortment of popular stores

By Brenna N |

The layout is great for walking around, people are friendly and there are some great local restaurants in the area. We walked from our hotel so I am not sure about the parking situation. LLBean is right next store though and they have several lots.

Lots of Outlets With High Prices

By Cupcake |

I can't understand why this is so crowded with tourists. Parking is difficult and prices are high. It is interesting to look in the shops but do NOT expect to find bargains. It is a place for walking and pedestrians have the right of way so if driving it is stop and go.

Great shopping area

By JDTravelhome |

A perfect size area to get some shopping done. The selection is slightly smaller than some of the bigger outlets but Freeport has more of a small town charm to it. Plenty of parking on streets, parking lots and a under ground parking garage also.

So many places were empty

By USMCRip |

I have been coming here for years and this year is even worse then last year for the number of stores that are empty. With taxes on everything it is hard to say there are deals.
We still enjoyed visiting and shopping and we will be back. Hopefully with more stores and bargains available.

Pretty good

By surfisher53 |

The outlets are definately worth visiting while you are in Freeport, especially the LLbean outlet, which is separated from the group of LLBean stores and is located across the street, has it's usual quality clothing and gear at 20-50 percent off.The Corningware outlet is another store with great discounts.there is also,Nike, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger,Abercrombie and Fitch, Bass,Talbots,Old Navy and Coach to name a few..also there are places to eat and free parking.

Great outlets and nice restaurants

By Raina M |

We go back to Freeport every year. We love the outlets and restaurants ,the downtown shopping and LL bean complex. A great weekend getaway with couples or girlfriends.

Beautiful town

By kiw7177 |

My husband hates shopping but he even loves this mall. The atmosphere is unlike any other mall I have ever been to. You would never know you are in the typical outlet mall looking around. You look like you are in a picture perfect old town. Just beautiful!!

Plan on walking alot!

By Charrie S |

We found an underground parking lot at the mall itself but did not realize that not only are there stores there but also up and down the streets so plan on walking alot. And being that Freeport is home to LL Bean, you will see more of those stores than anything else. The outlet store of LL Bean was still quite expensive.

There are not many restaurants in this mall, just a Dairy Queen and Johnny Rocket's that we could find but there are some up and down the streets.

Looking for deals takes time !

By YatriForever |

We kept moving from one outlet to another, in search of deals. There were some unbelievably low price deals in Van Heusen and then in Nike. I would never get that kind of low price in India for the kind of quality I picked up. Definitely worth the time, but it does take time. We spent almost all day here. The outlets in Village Station are the best among all in Freeport, for sale and deals.

Worth the visit no matter what time of the year.

By Sarah_David_H |

If you are an outdoors person, this is definitely the place to do outlet shopping. Anchored by LL Bean, I'd certainly visit here again if I was in the area.

Always a treat

By Rbiddulph |

One of my favourite towns to shop, beautiful area with shops all within walking distance, never a problem for parking and sales are always great At the outlets no matter the time of year, people are always friendly and the local restaurants are all top notch as well !

Shoppers Delight

By 2013TravelinFool |

I thought the area shopping was a tad on the expensive side. Lots of great shops to choose from but you need to know your prices.

One Stop Shopping

By Jimmy H |

Freeport at one time was all outlets, now it has become a mixture of outlets, retail stores and small local stores. Many restaurants to choose from as well. Yes I am sure if online shop, you cal always get something cheaper, but it is not always about the price as much as the experience. And honestly, there are many deals here in town, you will not find any where else. I typically wait for sales, and leverage that many times with local coupons or deals.

a variable multy choices of shops

By shgr99 |

vawooo .... very great area to do shoppings . I didn't believe how cheap can items cost. even the same brand here has very different price from different outlets i know elsewhere such as Concord area in N.H . Very close to the N.H - Maine border line
easily can be reached. on route 1 from South to North . Main location . near good hotels when you choose to stay around a little bit longer then a couple of hours

Your waking shoes are a necessity

By Rae Lawrence |

There is a variety of stores. The majority of the stores face along the street. Parking is behind the stores and on the street. Prices are not low; but in each store there were sales. In all the stores people were friendly and helpful. Tourist shoppers are everywhere.

Excellent

By bethypoo |

Nice selection of factory outlets without the crowds. Really liked the Old Navy outlet, LL Bean and Wilsons Leather. Many more outlets to choose from.

Best outlets shopping experience in Maine

By WinfieldRDH |

We have gone to the Kittery Outlet shopping centers for decades, and over the years the shopping has become such a pain, we no longer go. Freeport shopping is the exact opposite, the buildings are historic and the outlet shops seem more like boutiques than outlets, making it fun and much more relaxing. Plus, we found much better bargains. Will be back for sure.

Nice Outdoor Outlet Shopping Area

By TravelerofNJ |

Plenty of parking, outdoor shopping mall and streets with outlets. A few restaurants and snack shops sprinkled amidst the stores. Prices though are typical outlet - no great deals in any of the major chains, but plenty of foot traffic.

Girls shopping haven!

By Alison D |

Stopped here over Columbus Day weekend. Sole purpose was to go to Dooney and Bourke and get a new purse, what a deal!! 50% off!! Happy girls!!! We then went to the common area and saw the arts and crafts from the talented artisans and got all sorts of great items for Christmas gifts included fused glass and ornaments, tea, and baggage tags.

Will return!!

Good shopping!

By Bluhmbrown |

Small however there is a nice choice in stores and the location is wonderful.Great parking garage with an elevator to the stores on the upper level. Make it a must stop for the LL Bean outlet... we always grab some great bargains!

Great,clean shopping outlet

By Hidrfoot01 |

Spend as much or as little time as you want. A diverse range of stores for the entire family. Ample free public parking that is enclosed and open. Quality branded stores and the biggest stow being LL BEAN.

Outlet prices!

By mberg2015 |

Freeport is a great example of what outlets are supposed to be—great merchandise at reduced prices. Too many outlet stores sell products at the same price as retail and department stores, merely calling themselves outlets. Or they have inferior product for sale. Excellent selection of top name stores in Freeport too.

Outlets Fail to Excite

By jlamade |

Perhaps I have been spoiled by Amazon. Now when I go to a store I go to buy and not shop. As a result, I don't get excited about wandering around looking. Sometimes there is value in looking. For example, if you are looking for what is new and different, but this is not the place to look. The Bean's store was disappointing because it was too much like the many catalogs that I receive. I wanted to it to be different and better. Hence the urge to buy. Well, we did not "buy" much, so it is difficult to heap praise on the outlets.

Shopping and more shopping

By davefoshee |

Unlike a conventional shopping or outlet mall, these are great shops in a beautiful environment

Plus, there are restaurants and other delights to attract kids of all ages

This is well worth a short diversion from the highway and is very close to Brunswick if that's you're destination

World's largest LL bean

By Anaes20 |

Good selection of outlet shops but we were mainly interested in shopping at the LLbean shops.....including the LL bean outlet shop.
Lots of food places and ice cream shops are scattered around too, while you shop!

Everyone who comes through Maine stops here

By Joseph S |

The home of L.L. Bean and lots of other major brand name stores. You can spend a day or three with many places to stay and plenty of good fun restaurants

Very nice Outlet Shopping

By J-from-Marysville |

Very nice Outlet Shopping anchored, of course, by LL Bean. There is a large variety of stores. My wife and I went our separate ways and texted to stay in contact throughout the day.

As with most outlet stores, buyer beware. Some prices are very good and some are higher than you can buy locally.

My favorite is LL Bean, the main store and the it other separate stores.

My wife and I recommend you stop. We do every time we're in Maine

Just another outlet mall

By joylama |

Perfectly fine outlet mall that is just like every other outlet mall except for the fact that the L.L. Bean flagship store is across the street.

Really cost-saving outlets!

By martnlivy |

Freeport is a shopping delight - plus there are a number of excellent restaurants there as well. Of course, LL Bean commands front and center. They have several stores as well as an special outlet store that has a lot of great stuff! My favorite clothing store other than LL Bean is Haggar, which is on the upper level across the street where the LL Bean outlet is located. Favorite restaurant is Petrillo's - excellent sandwiches and Italian food and the very best waitress there is: Sammy Proulx!

Costly but FUN!

By micheleboys |

We drove into Freeport purposely to come to this shopping area. You could easily spend all day or several days shopping here. From larger chain stores to eclectic one of a kind finds, there's something for everyone here! Helpful tip! The shops are all over the place, some are up hill while others down hill so you'll want to wear good walking shoes! Also consider wearing something easy to get in and out of; it'll make trying on all those cute clothes easier!

Beautifully Landscaped Outlets

By Christina |

Came to the LLBEAN outlet tonight to see a summer free concert! The grounds were lovely we had Great time! Also bought some extremely soft leggings with unique patterns on them and a pair of shorts for an amazing price at a cute boutique style gift shop! I checked out the LLBEAN store too it was huge! They have a pond with fish in it and a huge fish tank along the wall it was pretty cool!

Not bad shopping

By Michelle C |

So the advantage is this has some outlets you would not normally find at others e.g. Abercrombie and fitch and Dooney Boorke. It's not easily accessible with a buggy and is miserable in the rain. Not too bad for bargains

L.L. Bean Outlet has bargains

By Ispdet |

Even though the flagship store is just a couple blocks away, the outlet store has some great bargains that you should check out first. The clerks are friendly and helpful. After finishing here, we returned to the flagship store to complete our purchases.

Outlets--Just Like So Many Other Places

By John Z |

With the exception of the L.L.Bean outlet, there are a thousand outlet centers around the country. The L.L.Bean outlet does have some nice discounts on some of their line, but it is a rather limited selection. Back in the day, the outlet was larger and had deeper discounts sometimes on some rather strange stuff. Now, it is somewhat of a disappointment. If you are an L.L.Bean shopper, it is worth it to stop in the flagship store at least once. You'll find scant bargains, but it is nice to see all the stock in one place.

Shopping Mecca

By Alex B |

These are the outlets that put Freeport on the map for many of the town’s visitors. Shoppers and bargain hunters will find a whole village of stores and deals to explore. When you’ve seen all there is to see here, step right onto Main Street and keep looking at the other unique shops in downtown Freeport. There’s plenty of parking, and even a train station for the Amtrak Downeaster, right next to the outlets, so getting there is easy and quick. Which leaves you more time to shop!

Freeport outlet shopping

By PVonthemove |

We visited the Freeport outlets on a Monday, at approx 1:30pm. This time was apparently to late, because the place was very, very busy, we drove around for a good 20 minutes in search of a parking spot. The stores are spread around the downtown area, very nice set-up, but just so busy. Other than L.L. Bean, there were no outlets present that we don't have in PA, so we would more than likely not ever return.

L.L.Bean Central

By fiamma11 |

This is just another outlet mall, although a bit cuter. What makes one want to visit is the larger than life L.L.Bean Factory Store. This is Freeport, Maine after all.

Fun Shopping Area

By Ellen B |

Visited here recently. It is a fun, clean shopping district with lots of options. We found a several bargains for ourselves and grandchildren. Would definitely return.

So much to so

By Kelly Y |

Great place for couples, singles or families. Something for everyone. Quaint town and a skinny million amazing shops.

Great prices

By Emma D |

Have been here a few times when visiting my sister in America and it never disappoints, great shops with even better prices, as always came away with lots of bags!

LL Bean Outlet and Corning

By ChrisY1952 |

Went to the outlet. Busy place! Found some nice windbreakers, a top and hubby some fishing gloves. None were seriously marked down but top quality.
We needed some new Corelle for out RV. Found a great bargain at literally half price!
Will come back another day for the other Bean stores

No longer outlets

By Stanley S |

This is no longer an outlet town, just an offshoot of LL Bean since it is taking over the area, piece by piece. There are few outlets left as many have closed their doors over the years and there are no bargains to be found. This has become a total tourist t trap with nothing of value other than a photo op with the Duck Boot.

Know your prices

By Budmanri |

Many stores here and I thought most were no bargain. There is a sales tax here on clothing,so need to factor that in.Fun to walk around and browse. We were here for a wedding so it was something to do .i found the best deals at Bass shoe outlet. Most stores want you to buy 2 items to get discount. Probably could do better at Macy’s with their coupons .

Fun

By Susanmc0312 |

It's fun to visit the many, many stores in this town. You might want to bring some kind of a sack to carry your purchases. So fun and lots of buys. Don't forget to visit the whoopie pie store at the southeast end of town. Yum!

Fun outlet shopping experience with extras

By Michele E |

Going to the LL Bean store is a must in Freeport and it's surrounded by a town of outlet shopping. We had fun going into the staple outlets as well as a few we hadn't seen before. There are quaint eateries along the road and fun shops like flavored popcorn and whooped pies.

This is a fun place

By wonderfulduet |

It is a fun place for shopping. You will see the cars coming from all around the country: California, Florida, Texas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, ......, and even from Canada.

Added Attraction to a Coastal Day Out

By 102Jane |

I used to absolutely love Freeport and it used to have an exciting array of shops with plenty of fashion outlets and home furnishings. Sadly, it is no longer as good as it was but still worth a visit if you are nearby. I particularly like the Gift Shop for garden ornaments and the Regatta shop is always good. My trip at New Year was, unfortunately, a dreadful day weather wise so Freeport added an extra dimension to my day whilst I was in Fleetwood. It is just a good size to get around and there are interesting boats to look at. Very nice.

I’m not a big shopper, but.....

By Dora H |

I found several things that came home with me! Loved the cosmetics store. My husband loved the Patagonia and Orvis store.

Nice stores

By Augustandwally |

The stores were nice and the layout is nothing like a regular outlet. A nice stop if you're passing through but not worth going out of the way for, in my opinion.

Large selection typical outlet prices

By jgknees |

Well staffed with qualified personnel. Parking was ample and easily usable. close to the Interstate.

So so

By Beth L |

I didn't think the prices were so great here, and I also didn't think that the clothing selection was varied or up-to-date or chic in any way. Maybe I missed the stores offered those choices??? I'm sure that some people will find what they need here, but I didn't.

A Great Variety of Stores

By @cristens2022 |

The Freeport Shopping Outlets offer a great variety of stores for all ages and tastes in a compact, clean and well laid out area easily accessible from I295. On a recent trip I found some great deals and came away a happy shopper. Parking can be tricky, and I usually avoid the big parking lot surrounding LL Bean and head straight for the parking garage. With covered parking, you are never dealing with rain, snow or heat and there always seems to be plenty of spaces.

Hurting

By Newplaces777 |

Economy hit Freeport hard...many stores shuttered since our last trip. Hopefully it will rebound soon. Still several restaurants to choose from.

Outlet shopping YAY!

By Darlene M |

Loved the outlets. Everything is fairly close together which was great since I do have issues with walking. It was also fun going to the Flagship store for LL Bean and seeing the big boot on its 90 th Anniversary.

Lovely atmosphere

By T_Richelle |

I enjoyed walking around outside; Freeport has a nice selection of popular stores. I especially liked Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Coach.

Excellent shopping!

By Douglas M |

We love shopping in Freeport. There are many shops along with LL Bean's main store. There is also plenty of parking even a garage under some of the outlet stores.

Lots of options

By jmr95 |

Plenty of stores with a good variety for everyone. A few food options as well as some little snack type carts. The fresh squeezed lemonade is good!

Getting it done

By Dena B |

My husband and I stayed in Freeport for a long weekend to start our Christmas Shopping done. Alot of the outlets had some great deals especially the ones that we going out of business. LLBean was great and huge compared to when i went 20yrs ago. The parking was an issue, not too much options. We parked in the garage but the bottom level we parked in was lacking lighting so it was rather creepy. All in all we had a great time and an early start to the holiday season.

Walkable village shopping.

By RCS3rd |

Freeport offers a village of shopping. Nice to be able to park the car and walk around, rather than having to move from one shopping plaza to the next. Freeport could work for just a window shopping walk as well. There is even a Amtrak train station in town! LLBean is always impressive where shopping can be complimented with viewing the various animal exhibits, fun for kids and grown ups alike.

A little bit of everything

By Traveling without regrets |

Nice stores to walk for a whole entire day.
Either to shop or grab something to eat.
A lot of stores with big sales and variety of things. Wear comfortable shoes and get ready for some up and down stairs.

altogether a lovely visit.

By Mike P |

A charming little town, lots of excellent eateries and interesting shops. Highly recommend LL Bean's coffee shop and Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop.

Good place to shop

By Bongo91 |

Spent a couple of hours here to do some shopping on a recent holiday. Prices were ok, although the Abercrombie shop was slightly more expensive than the store in Boston. There was a better sale in Boston.

You name it they have it

By Momto3boyz |

Lots and lots of shopping. The anchor store being LLBean. They have everything film Boho style shops to CVS to a Whoppie Pie store to Calvin Klein. You have to shop because even though they’re outlets now everything is inexpensive . We were there in Feb so lots of snow, puddles and it as freezing. Dress accordingly . They did clear stairs and walkways but ina Maine winter things don’t stay clear for long.

Not a patch on Bicester Outlet in the UK, but the Coach store is very good

By Stephen B |

Having heard great things about this outlet, we expected a lot, especially as we assumed that being American it would be bigger and better than anything be have in Britain. However, we were disappointed, as neither ambience nor variety of stores was anything like as good as the ones we saw in the UK. The one exception was the Coach store, which had some excellent bargains as well as friendly and knowledgable staff. The Nike store was not as exciting as we had anticipated, although again the staff were very helpful. We did like the fact that there were no masses of customers, so we could walk through the stores at our leisure and browse. Also surprised at the lack of free WiFi, with the LL Bean signal having a very limited range (at least on my iPhone). Plenty of parking spaces nearby.

Outlet shopping at its best!

By Astrid1511 |

We love the atmosphere of Freeport. Still get to be outside and sit and relax with an ice cream or cold drink. Lots of great deals too.

Every store you can imagine!

By JetBlueDriver |

Beautiful little town with pretty much every outlet store you could imagine. Everything is clean and orderly. You could easily spend two days trying to see all of the stores. Plenty of places to eat. Plenty of parking, but bring your patience.

This town is friendly, food choices plentify and outlets are fantastic.

By stillsazzy |

Typically, I do not shop outlet malls on vacation, but this town is a different experience. LLB everywhere and prices are fantastic. Local shops and artists are among the choices, as well as J Crew and others. Everyone is nice. Resteraunts are clean, pleasant and accomodating. Great place to relax is the midst of a crazy week traveling.

Getaway for shopping

By Patti A |

We decided to go to Maine last minute. Found a B and B to stay in. We shopped a little, walked around, some good food and explored the area. Just had fun.

Christmas Shopping

By Mainewanderlust |

I love Freeport ! I go there at least once a year ! Lots of amazing shops ! I went yesterday and the Christmas lights at LL Beans were very nice !

All the name brands in one place.

By Marleen M |

L.L. Beans pretty much owns the town, but there are a lot of other outlet stores available to shop in. Great restaurants as well.

Average outlet stores

By MTLCRUISEFAMILY |

All the regular outlet stores here.
Basic savings to be had. The main attraction is the ll.bean stores

Tons of stores to choose from

By 558stephannes |

We ate then shopped for the rest of day, before going to airport for flight back.
Lots of stores and variety to choose from, like choppy pies, 'll bean, and coach

Great Shopping!

By travelwithmisty |

This is a great town to stop and shop. There is a Polo Outlet, LL Bean Outlet, Vineyard Vine Outlet, Old Navy Outlet, Talbots Outlet, Loft Outlet and many more stores. It is a great stop for bargains. We enjoyed strolling the street and admiring the old buildings the stores use along the street. In the summer they also have free concerts in front of LL Bean.

Feels like any other outlet mall

By LikeItActive |

The real action in Freeport, for me, is "across the streets" from the Shopping Outlets: that mostly includes LL Bean, but also the smaller, independent Maine owned shops. The Shopping Outlets really feel to me like a compact Tanger Outlet Mall. The shops are all name brand, national with bargains that you would get at any Tanger or other outlook mall. You can burn a lot of time walking and strolling, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary if you are even an occasional visitor to other outlook malls. The shops and area are kept very clean, it's very safe, and a difference compared to outlet malls is that it is compact.

Squeeze in while enjoying midcoast

By lakwatsera2014 |

Here is how to squeeze in efficient shopping if staying in freeport while touring midcoast Maine for 1.5 days.

Arrive in the evening after dinner (after 9pm).....shop the clearance section of the LL BEAN flagship store (it closes at midnight). After breakfast, time yourself for 1.5 hours from 9-10:30am. We stopped by the LL Bean outlet, the Jockey outlet, Olympia outlet, Cole Haan outlet, Mangy Moose.

Head off to explore the coastal highway towns, but return by 8:30 to pick 1 store. We stayed until closing at North Face.

Freeport factory outlets

By Gatorgrandma |

Always fun to visit the factory outlets and find a bargain with that brand name. The discounts might vary depending on the season if the items that they have put on clearance.

Nice walk through Town

By Johnny B |

A different kind of outlet mall for sure!! Felt more like a leisurely stroll through a quaint town than being at an outlet. Some good deals to be had too. Worth the stop if in the area.

Incredible sales

By FloraHull |

All I remember is considering spending a whole afternoon scouting for deals on a whole bunch of things that would otherwise cost a fortune but I wa fortunate and most pleased to discover the sales are DAILY in EVERYSTORE. And I mean 25% off 80%!!!! Can’t beat.
Loved the Gap and Old Navy and Wilsons Leather. Can’t wait to be back!!!!
Great parking facilities and excellent walking and strolling opportunities

Shopping transfer to Freeport

By Marie D |

Our cruise offered a shore excursion that drove us out to Freeport, the town built by L.L. Bean. Our guide Gloria and our bus driver were a great team and you can tell they love their jobs and love their state. Freeport was a charming town. The macdonalds is in a Victorian house with a small golden arch sign. We were given close to 3 hours here- probably could have used a bit more but our wallet had enough of 3!!!!! It was great to actually have the opportunity to shop in a real L,L.Bean store. We have now been able to make adjustments to our ordering profiles by trying items on. Please open an outlet in Canada!!!! There are many other stores with outlets in Freeport but the flagship store of L.L.Bean was where we spent most of our time. Definitely would return to Freeport.
Apart from the shopping we also obtained some new information about Maine - Gloria was very informative

Annual Trip

By atlantaz3 |

I love lobster rolls and LL Bean. So where else would I go but Freeport? I've made an annual trek for at least the last ten years. Some years shopping is better than others. I can tell you what keeps me coming back, the customer service. All the little stores have great staff, spend a little time chatting and you will get plenty of suggestions - yes they want you to spend money, but hey that's what shopping is. Love the Dooney and Burke outlet many great finds over the years. LL Bean outlet I seem to visit when pants are half price - score! Park and plan to walk, you will be on your feet for hours, all the stores are within a 5 block radius, anyone who reparks a car is a little nuts. Lots of parking behind LLBean or in the Village Garage I've done both. No locks on the LL Bean doors and it's open 24/7. Can sleep go to LLBean! I've trekked up to Bean after my 11:30PM flight arrived in Portland, you will have the place to yourself! Chowder House (side street Mill I think) has the best lobster roll in my opinion sorry Linda a bit to pricy for me. Only downside some of the outlet store prices aren't any better than my local Macy's, however that's the thrill of the hunt.

OK - if you want to shop - this is YOUR place!

By JoeHouston52 |

No idea on the number of shops - 100+??

From high end to low end you can probably find what you desire and maybe at a decent price (do be aware that "outlets" are not always discounts but second labels or made directly for the outlet). Easy to walk around. Expect parking could be tough in the busy seasons.

Cozy little shopping town.

By Leta S |

This is a great place for outlet shopping. Wide variety of shops, restaurants, and snack spots! This was a girls trip and we had a blast.

Downeaster to Freeport, Shopping

By Robert W |

took the Downeaster from boston to Freeport. the ride was about three hours, very comfortable and afordable. although mid October trip there was still ample foliage to see and still vibrant although an overcast day. Freeport was an enjoyable visit, six hour,
with plenty of shopping available. This is the home of LLBean and that was special. The trip is evaluated including the train ride up and back.

Outlets Stores to far apart

By Win T |

Been to many Factory Outlets, this is the worst. They are all in small blocks so you have to drive from one to another. However you will find some deals.

Road Trip

By Catherine D |

Story book town with the best retailers. Shoppers paradise with good bargains to be had. My sister and I had a wonderful time and did quite a bit of shopping Only downside is that we only had one day before heading to Bar Harbor. Oh, and was told LL. Bean stays open 24hrs. Women this is the place to shop with your husband!

So many to choose!

By Karen L |

Beautiful setting with so many stores. Setting is quaint village. Many restaurants near by. LL Bean right across the street.

Not worth a special trip

By NilBella |

Visiting from England we spent a couple of days in Portland and were told this was the place to go to shop. Well it's a nice easy drive and has a fair few shops. We did get some bargains in Abercrombie and Nike. But all in all I would say not the shopping Mecca they say it is. Have been to far better outlet malls with more variety elsewhere

This is What Kept Me Driving

By ManitouExpert |

On our way to Acadia National Park we were taking the scenic route and expected unique small towns. Which is what we got, except here. Really, does Patagonia, North Face and all the other over marketed brands need to have outlet stores in the home town of L L Bean? You can buy their junk online at a discount. This is the only town that I remember between Portland and Bar Harbor that was so commercial and doesn't fit in well.

Good selection of stores

By robstainedglass |

There's a good selection of stores and you don't have to walk up and down Main St. looking for stores.

While I like the layout of the stores, I don't think there's much bargaining to be had.

By MovementandLocation |

It could just be my perspective, since I live close to Kittery. That being said, there are some interesting stores that I do enjoy. The Maine Craft Distilleries store sells craft spirits along with other cocktail supplies and is probably my favorite. I also like Mangy Moose even if they sell silly things, because I've been going there since I was a kid. But as for your Banana Republic, Old Navy, Bass, etc...they are decent and if that's your jam, you'll have a good time scouring the racks for deals.

Nice!

By Paul M |

A great selection of stores! All stores had great selections within! Great location just off Main Street and very close to lots of other stores!

Nice afternoon

By Heather K |

We spent an afternoon here shopping. It was not crowded the day we visited and it was easy to get around. The area is set up well in that you are at an outlet mall, but it feels like you are shopping in a town since many of the stores are in old buildings. It was enjoyable and a nice way to spend a couple of hours after a busy vacation.

A VERY INTERESTING SHOPPING EXPERIENCE!

By Kiki001122 |

This is outdoor "mall" shopping, with many name-brand shops on both sides of the street. As with most "outlets", true bargains were hard to find, but fun looking! What made this experience worthwhile was the "streetscapes"; there are two levels which can be accessed by either stairs or elevators. Each level is structured to look like a street or little town comprised of the big stores; vending carts and restaurants ; very cute! There is an LL Bean outlet store here, but on the opposite side of the street is the Flagship store (which is HUGE!).
The streets are brick-lined and the area is like a quaint New England town...lovely to walk through, especially at dusk/night. The streets are hilly and steep in some spots, making walking difficult for anyone with ambulatory problems.
In my opinion, the Freeport Outlet is a "must-see"!

Not quite what I expected

By JochenBuhler |

But I found some pants. Not busy before lunch that is good and recommended. Wondering what was first Freeport or the Outlets.

Worth a visit

By Rhys Cav |

Was a great visit all shop staff where great and always happy to help and go the extra mile!
Only bad points it was a cold rainy day and with the size of the area it could have been under cover!
The prices and discounts where very good, clean area and well kept.

Fun Shopping

By JC1090 |

Everything is within walking. They run great discounts in so many of the stores like North Face and Patagonia. Llbean stores do not offer many "deals" though, but you get what you pay for and Llbean has great quality items and stands by what they sell. This is a fun shopping get away area.

Fun to shop

By jlanierp |

Of course we liked Llbean! We went to several stores and were able to find something for everyone. I was super excited to go into a Seabags store and we were able to park the RV.

Shopping

By Dmach488 |

Quaint area great shopping experience. Clean and friendly staff. Would return again. Parking a challenge.

Great variety for shopping and eating

By Brenda M |

Great variety of shopping from clothing to souveniers to decor. Really liked store that supports local artists. Pleasant environment. Great variety for eating. Enjoyed free parking!

All LLBean

By nancy b |

The town is all LLBean. You can shop at their store or go to the outlet where the prices are about the same. If you're not into LL Bean there really isn't much to do. We escaped and took a drive to Lands End = picturesque.

Great Shopping & Deals!

By Carrie D. |

We loved the Freeport Shopping Outlets. We got some really great deals and we loved the set up--that it was more of a shopping village, than a mall. It's a very cute shopping area. We also really appreciated the plentiful and free parking! It was in the upper 90s the day we went and honestly, we would have probably shopped another hour or two, but we were dying in the heat. Definitely worth the trip!

Shopping at the famous LL Bean headquarter.

By mommeme |

A very enjoyable experience. The Outlet is organized in a small town setting. Friendly people n good deals. Whenever got a chance to Maine, should pay a visit. Only 30minutes from Portland

LL bean and outlet stores provide great shopping experiences

By Harry P |

Freeport is a wonderful shopping mecca. The ll bean store is well laid out abd provides a great opportunity 5o touch, feel abd try on merchandise before sending selected items home. We delayed the delivery date until we returned from our teip, but received no notice of the logistic status enroute (it did arrive on time).

The other factory outlet stores had great selections and low prices. Well worth a visit.

Boss Outlet Freeport

By dbeckwith |

Boss Outlook served by very friendly attentive member of staff could not of been any more helpful first class customer service

Believe it or not, we found some bargains! Just not where we expected to.

By HiMyNameIsKathryn |

We came here specifically for LL Bean but we didn't find a single thing in that whole store. However, we did find some excellent bargains in several other stores, especially Orvitz (that was a surprise - we'd never even heard of them before), and Cole Haan. Lots of walking but I'd say it was worth it!

Fun day at the Freeport Outlets

By onehappytraveler_10 |

We spent the afternoon at the outlets. We found some good deals and had fun browsing and people watching. Ate lunch at Johnny Rockets, terrific burger for my husband and an amazing BLT for me. Topped off with a shared chocolate shake that was soooo good!

Great Shopping Variety and Excellent Summer Sales

By Zack M |

There are many shopping options in an easy 3-4 block walking radius, and the sales are great in the summer. I got a very nice pair of dress shoes for $36 at the BASS Outlet. There are restaurants scattered around the outlets, and lobster is a must-get at the Lobster Cooker Restaurant. L.L. Bean is at the heart of Freeport and has Outdoor Experiences, such as kayaking, that you can sign up for as well. We were lucky enough to be visiting when Frankie Ballard performed at L.L. Bean's outdoor concert venue right in Freeport, which is free and has great concerts all summer long. A must stop in Maine, and I recommend the Kendall Tavern Inn, a nearby B&B as a place to stay.

Old navy

By vg33 |

Old navy
We went here to do some last minute shopping since we going on a trip. The looks we got from some staff in the back was not hood. We overheard them say they locked the back door and ate waiting to lock the front also it was 7 50 at this point and we were naive to think they close at 9 like other old navy in bangor. We were wrong. I saw a lady giving the side eye walking by when we asked what time they closed, she shouted 8! Without even looking back at us so we went to cash out. The cashier was very polite which was the only reason why we didn't leave 1 star.

Lots of Outlet Stores

By dotravels |

We were really impressed with the variety of stores in Freeport. Our objective was to get fleece jackets - I found a great deal at The North Face.

Lots of shopping

By Kristen V |

Lots of shopping for all ages. Lots of outlets with our fave brands. Loved the llbean outlet. Free parking was a surprise. Clean and friendly area.

Hit & Miss But Lots To See

By Mike S |

Lots of shops here; both LL Bean and others. My experience was that it really depended on what you are looking for and what these stores happen to have in stock at the time you visit. And check prices carefully and compare against their normal retail stores and online as many of the deals really aren’t anything out of the ordinary. Patagonia didn’t have any better prices than they do anywhere else and one can get a better deal at say, REI with a coupon than one can get at this store. And the selection was very limited as well. North Face (right above Patagonia) had a pretty good selection and some decent deals if they have something you happen to be looking for. The LL Bean Outlet store was well organized with separate sections for Men, Women, Kids, etc… And things like shoes were organized by sizes. That made it easy to see if they happen to have something you’re interested in based on your gender and size. There are a LOT of other stores here and it’s everything from sunglasses to chocolate and everything in between. So if shopping is your “thing” you could easily spend an entire day here.

Very Average

By patraveller2007 |

Outlets are spread out along Main Street and intersecting side steets. Very pleasant walk through Freeport. Prices are not as good as other outlet locations for bthe same stores. Was in the Under Armor and Jockey outlets in two other locations within the past month and prices were about 20% higher in Freeport. Not a lot of people were carrying many things during our time here. The LL Bean outlet was fair at best, both in variety and price.

Not worth the trip...

By Kmcoyle |

We made a special trip, 2 hour drive, to go to the LL Bean outlet. The outlet "center" has changed quite a bit since we were last here, probably 9 years ago... many of the store fronts are empty, especially on the ground level. Doors are locked and we were not sure if the LL Bean outlet was even still in business! After hunting around, we discovered a different entrance through a non-discript alley that included restrooms, a set of stairs and an elevator. Take the elevator to the top and victory! Open stores...

1st stop, the LL Bean outlet. Very clean and well organized. We found what we were looking for: men's pants. Not a huge selection, but not bad. One pair the size marked was totally inaccurate, but overall not bad. Dressing rooms clean and big plus no annoying count of items with a plaquard with the number. Wow! Trust! BUT: the prices were no big deal. 30% off? This is end of summer, we were looking at lightweight summer pants. LL Bean prices are never cheap, but back " in the day" you used to get really good deals at the outlet. Those days are gone.

We checked out a couple other stores: again, no real deals. I enjoyed the free chocolate from Lindts. Also, parking was free. Traffic was terrible. Arggg... Guess I will stick to on line shopping.

Freeport Maine shops

By Mark V |

This is a good place to visit for the day. LL Bean has many shops here. Prices are not what you would expect for outlets though.

My favorite outlets

By Beth B |

I’m in love w/ this town & the outlets are great. I live in NH & don’t mind in the slightest that I have to pay sales tax when I shop here.

Quaint New England Village

By Penpal_55 |

Fun shops and restaurants in one of my favorite towns to visit in Maine. The best of all here is the LLBean campus including all of their specialty stores.

L.L Bean tour excursion

By Angela B |

Visited here with the cruise excursion and loved the place. Such a variety of places and such a cute place to see. Would def recommend to everyone to visit. And the lobster rolls were lovely.

L.l bean was massive and had such a vast range of items

Great selection of shops

By Parky |

Lots of different outlets here to visit and most offering heavily discounted prices.
Various dining options too

Everything in One Place

By Kathy K |

On a recent trip to Freeport, Maine, my husband and I stopped to do a little shopping at the Outlets. Each store offered a unique "special" discount, the associates were friendly and helpful, and we were able to pick up a couple of items that we had been searching for (and a few that we didn't even know we needed!). There is something for every member of the family including the family pet. The shops are easily accessible and within a couple of blocks walking distance. Definitely worth the stop!

Fun shopping but not as great as Kittery Maine outlets

By stulimom |

LL Bean definitely dominates the Freeport shops with various stores for all kinds of outdoor equipment and clothing. The rest of the shops scattered around are a combination of outlet and regular stores. Shopping is fun wherever but if I had to choose between Freeport and Kittery I'd head South to Kittery instead.

Chains have taken over

By Edward K |

First time in Freeport in 15 years and the chains have taken over. Very few independent stores. Still worth the trip just for the LL Bean campus which is now four buildings. But you can find most of the other stores elsewhere.

If you go, Hilton Garden Inn and Harraseeket Inn are good choices close to LL BEan

Yearly shopping trip

By Min Min |

Love shopping at LL Bean!! Been shopping here for over 20 years at least once a year. The only downside is the number of stores have lessened over the years.

The typical outlet mall

By evwilli |

Except for LLBean which is a fantastic store, the other stores are the typical outlets that you can find anywhere in the United States. I was particularly disappointed in the quality of the clothing at the JCrew outlet and the Talbot outlet. The Coach outlet was nice as was the Brooks Brothers outlet.

Too expensive for outlet shopping

By misslillies |

I looked forward to shopping, but didn't buy anything. LL Bean was a huge disappointment. I would rather shop online.
Traffic was awful.

Pretty quaint village, shopping mall...

By Bird3181 |

Freeport is definitely a unique outlet mall in an enchanting environment. However, a number of outlets have closed recently and moved out to other locations which is too bad for shoppers.

Nice outlet area

By LoriFromVT |

Nice outlet area in great little town. Stores very much the same as any other outlet area but setting is very nice. Great seafood outdoor restaurant right next to the Gap. Highly enjoyed our shopping experience!

Variety of stores

By Kayaker101 |

There was a nice variety of shops ! Was able to get a few special items at Francesca's . Did not think great deals in the LL Bean sale outlet.

Shopping Village

By Ulysses2012 |

Freeport is an enjoyable place to shop. There are plenty of outlets here and most are housed in unique quaint and old style buildings. The setting meant we spent a pleasant few hours shopping with plenty of parking and places to eat.

Vacation

By E Craig D |

Outlets compliment visit to Flagship LL Bean Store visit. One of our favorites is the LL BEAN outlet. Always have great values on pants and other clothing. Many other types of shopping. Something for everyone.

Small but at least all within walking

By Ed C |

Small outlet area but at least everything is within walking distance. Freeport has free parking so park at a central location and walk. Look at a map and pick the stores you want to shop. Choose a good place for food. There is an LL Bean outlet but we actually brought stuff at the main store since they had a sale.

Great shopping

By Heather I |

Great place to visit and shop. Was able to catch a new release movie after a hard day of shopping. Annes book store is worth a stop. Make sure you get a map of the stores or you could miss out on some great finds. Also bathrooms were stratigicly located. A big plus.

Closes very early

By CHURCHGUY |

Great looking place but over 60% of the stores were closed at 6pm on a Thursday!
Lindt Chocolate stopped making milkshakes at 730pm as they were shorthanded.. Ridiculous. The restaurant were over priced so we went back to Kennebunk port for dinner. The LL Bean Shoe was the highlight of our visit!

Outlets a bunch

By lumacd |

Great shopping in Freeport .All shops are walkable. Good prices. Don't miss LLBeans outlet or Bass shoes

Be prepared to walk!

By AZ_Margie |

This is really an outlet town, Very small compared to outlets in California - Gilroy, Cabazon, etc. There is an outlet center with about 20 stores and more out on the street - climb the hill or use elevator in the center. LLBean is the only outlet I don't find in other locations. Also 2 Bass outlets - these seem to be disappearing elsewhere. Easily accessible from the interstate.

LL Bean!

By Susan S |

Wow has this outlet gotten bigger than the last time we visited some twenty years ago. LL Bean has the primary presence with several buildings on specific types of goods. Each building is done well in exteriors, interiors and presentation of goods. There is even an separate "LL Bean" outlet building. Also in and around all the various LL Bean buildings are a variety of other well labeled stores along with many restaurants.

Friendly and great service!

Worth it

By em990 |

It was worth it. It was 5 of us that went and we all managed to pick something for a bargain. They have few places where you can eat as well.

July Getaway

By gcmass |

We had a nice time getting away and spent a few hours in the outlet stores. We lived the way that the stores are woven into the charming downtown motif - very unique and positive experience!

Vacation to Portland

Not your typical shopping outlet but well worth the visit. Short drive from Portland (15 minutes). LLBEAN has several stores as well as the corporate offices nearby. I really enjoyed how everything was set up like a village, using store fronts that may have already been there instead of building a traditional outlet center.
