Spent a lazy afternoon at the winery. Tasted Chardonnays and Pinots in a private setting with assorted cheeses. Also had the behind the scenes tour with q&a. Our host was patient with our questions and very accommodating. The wines were superb. Will definitely return.

My wife and I are long time visitors to the wine country, especially in the Sonoma valley, having visited a lot of the wineries and tasted a wide variety of wines and their myriad of styles.
We enjoyed our visit very much. The weather couldn't have been better and there were only 2 other couples there. The staff and our host were very friendly and personable, meeting us with a glass of Chardonnay as soon as we opened the door.
We were seated outside and served a selection of cheeses to pair with five unique selections. Our host was terrific, leisurely taking us through each selection and going into detail about their wine making philosophy. We met George, the cat He added in a few more samples of their different Pinot Noir's which were all great, especially the McDonald Mountain and Bacigalupi Vineyards bottles.
Overall a VERY relaxing and tasty experience.
Cheers!

Although a little out of the way, it was worth the drive for the patio and view. The tasting was also nice, with cheese pairings. We just didn’t really like the wine. We’re not much of white wine drinkers, but we got a bottle for our daughter, and we weren’t impressed with red. Requires a reservation but we didn’t have a problem getting one the day before.

One of the highlights of our Sonoma trip. The winery was beautiful sitting atop a hill. Steven our host was super and the wines were delicious.

The place itself is gourgeous. While we visited it in a rainy day, the view from the top of the hill was amazing with low clouds almost touching tops of the tries and mountains on the background. The facilities are very modern and stylish + top notch hospitality. We made reservation to try the best of the winery production and I believe that it''s a must place to visit in Russian River Valley area if you consider yourself a Pinot Noir aficionado!

My wife and I visited the winery recently and had a charming 90 minute visit/tasting. The view from the tasting room across the Russian River is spectacular and the room is comfortable and inviting. But the best part of the experience was the personal attention and light hearted education we received from our guide. Great wine. Great fun.

Remodel is very nice but made mistake of showing up unannounced and would have been turned away
but I never take NO for an answer. Not that busy and I was a previous Grand Crew member for about 8 years. Could have been a little friendlier when first arrived but they did warm up later into our visit.

Gary Farrell sits on the side of a hill with panoramic views. We had the place to ourselves and were greeted by our lovely host Laura and led to a perfectly positioned patio table all set up with our tasting flights and paired cheeses. Laura was friendly and knowledgeable leading us through each of the wines and giving us time alone to soak up the surroundings. Wonderful visit!

This was not a scheduled stop, but we are so thankful that we did. Chris gave us an amazing tasting and explained the Gary Farrel philosophy. This only added to the experience. Oh yeah, and the wines were spectacular! We will be going again.

First winery during our day long tasting tour. Loved the wines Stephen chose for tasting. Great view, and cheese chosen to pair with tasting. You get what you pay for, and we would return to this vineyard on next visit.

My wife and I have been club members for over 10 years. We recently visited to collect a shipment and enjoy some wines in the wonderful tasting room. The wines, as always, were superb, and the cheese board excellent and carefully selected for each wine. Our server was delightful.

Beautiful setting. Knowledgeable and engaging wine educator. Tailored the tasting to our interests. Great experience!

This was just a lovely experience. The tasting room and patio were gorgeous. The wine tasting and cheese pairings were superb. The staff was gracious, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants a top-tier tasting.
Note- I said this was a couples visit, but it was actually a family visit with my wife and me and our 4 20-something year old kids. Everyone enjoyed it.

From the moment we walked to meeting our host Alex we were delighted. Prior to walking through their doors we met the property king….Benny the cat 🐈⬛😸. We were seated outside with view that left us speechless.
Our wines were perfectly paired with a few cheeses and our host Alex tailored our tasting to what wines we were enjoying most. It included a couple more Chardonnays then a nice rose to bring us into a couple Pinot noirs. Spectacular!

Gary Farrell came highly recommend for their experience and wines. I understand being cautious with the pandemic but they took it a little too far. When you first arrive you have to call a phone number before they will allow you to enter. They then meet you outside the front door to escort you to the cheap plastic table and chairs out their expansive outdoor space with a nice view. All of the wines were pre poured and sitting in the sun. All of the hosts stood about 12 feet away from you while giving a very scripted speech on the brand and their wines while not asking anything about you or the wines you enjoy. There was also a cheese plate which was nice but since everything was sitting in the sun the cheese was sweating and the wines became very warm by the end. Maybe pre Covid this was a great place to visit but right now I would not recommend visiting.

Very nice experience. The facility is top notch and the staff attentive. I prefer a more comfort driven environment, however, for clean lines and sleek this is your place. Very accommodating and great wine.

Have been coming here for years. The wine is amazing. The staff is amazing and makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere and views are amazing.

Make sure your car is in great shape for this trip all the way up a mountain to a lovely winery. Getting up there is not easy. Wines were quite good.

Had a wonderful tasting in their gorgeous tasting room with amazing views.
Really enjoyed the wine along with the food pairings.

We were recommended this winery as having good wine but didn’t get the chance to try. Took us an hour to get there to find that visits were by appointment only????
After asking and requesting to be allowed a tasting we were advised no one under 21 could be admitted
These people obviously don’t want business!!

Howard was great. The selection of wines and cheese pairing for this specific visit was awesome. Of course, being seated outside on such a beautiful day and with such a wonderful view made the experience even better.

Beautiful location, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and delicious wine. What more could you ask for

A great time with great wines and great hosts, definitely a must visit if you are in the area Or even near the area.

Great winery visit with friends. Loved scenic atmosphere. Enjoyed experience considerably and several of our party joined wine club

Most enjoyable and appreciative of all received courtesies. Will recommend to friends and if back in area will return....
Please see that wine ships to ensure Monday- Wednesday delivery.
many thanks
luis

This was only my second wine tasting, and I really enjoyed our experience. We had a reservation. The facility was very new and lovely, situated on top of the hill with expansive views. It is not just a tasting room along the highway, like some of the other wineries. The wine and cheese were great. Kevin was kind and generous, answering our questions and chatting with us. We didn't feel pressured to join their club or buy multiple bottles, but they gave us all the information we needed in case we wanted to. A really nice visit, and I would recommend it to others!

We had an incredible tasting with Tiffany at Gary Farrell in February. The location itself is absolutely stunning with hilltop views of the surrounding valley. We chose to do their Inspiration Tasting because we all love pinot noir, and we were incredibly impressed with the quality and diverse flavour profiles of each wine. We had an opportunity to try 6 different pinots from varying locations, and Tiffany did an incredible job of explaining why the flavours in each wine were so different. Each wine was paired with a small dish to help compliment the wine. The pairings were amazing! For the past 5 years, we have come to the valley for 4 days of tastings and this was one of our absolute favourites! We particularly liked their Martaella Vineyard Pinot and Hallberg Vineyard-Dijon Clones Pinot Noir. Thank you to all of the staff at GF for their hospitality, energy and passion. We will definitely be back!

Friends and I visited the Napa and Healdsburg area to celebrate a few birthdays. We loved our experience at Gary Farrell. The views were beautiful and the wine and cheese pairings were delicious. We ended up getting a few bottles and had to leave to visit another winery, but wished that we had stayed longer. It was one of my favorite tastings.

I've done many wine tastings over the years, in the States and abroad, but this tasting was my favorite. The tour was just perfect, short but sweet. Kevin was very informative yet casual and made everyone feel comfortable. Like hanging out with a friend in a very nice house. Location and facility is gorgeous.

We had planned a stop at Gary Farrell during our October 2019 visit to Sonoma, but it was canceled due to the wildfires. So we'd waited two years for last week's visit. The experience was worth the wait.
Their outdoor patio is comfortable and inviting. Gabe was our host and he was knowledgeable and generous. But the wines were the real stars. We not only joined their wine club, we ordered bottles of both of the Chards we tasted, and two of the three Pinots.
This is now one of the five wineries we'll visit every time we find ourselves in the Pacific time zone.

We invited good friends to an elevation wine tasting and had a lovely time, as always. The new tasting room is comfortable and has lovely views. We tasted two chardonnays and two pinot noirs, and then on request, we tasted another red. The tastings were accompanied by 4 different cheeses. We bought several bottles to take home. Our hostess gave us some fabulous chocolate cookies to take home as well.

Okay, so there’s a winery every hop skip and jump in Napa and Sonoma. Some are easy to get to, some are a little hairy. This one is well worth the effort to get there, take reservations only and the wines are exquisite. They serve their tasting with cheeses and breads that pair well with the wine and the views are to die for. You can choose to sit inside or out and choose the type of wines you’d like to taste (rather than the usual ABCD lineup). This was the high point of our visit in wine country. Steven was awesome and we’ll be coming back! (Oh, and if I could rate my experience from 0 to 10 I’d give the place a 15).

I appreciate the remodel and the Friendly staff, I have never felt more welcome at the Winery. The pairings of wine with cheese was well balanced.

GF wines are tremendous, so tasting them is always a pleasure. The wine tasting room at GF is so cozy, you can sit on the terrace weather permitting, or at one of the inside tables or couches if it's too hot, cold or rainy outside. They provide a plate of cheese that almost forces you to slow down and enjoy the wines you are tasting. The staff all have "customer service" as their middle names and they all strive to make the wine tasting experience at GF an oasis to be revisited time and time again.

If you're a wine connoisseur then you already know that Gary Farrell wines are outstanding examples of Russian River and Sonoma varietals. If you're a fan of the wine then make time to get away from the Napa Valley wine-industrial complex and reserve a tasting (appointment only) at Garry Farrell.
We recently enjoyed multiple Pinot Noirs and Zinfandels on a beautiful day overlooking the valley below us from Gary Farrell's lovely terrace tasting room. Great service and vibe, we highly recommend the wine experience at Gary Farrell.

While the views are spectacular which makes it a destination, the wines can turn any surrounding into a perfect destination. The small personal setting which are now done as a side by side tasting is definitely the way to go. All tastings should be side by side. The views are just the icing on the cake but I keep coming back for the filling!!!! And having Tesla chargers on the premise is a great plus. Enjoy.

A group of 6 celebrating our (my twin) birthdaysWe enjoyed: The wine, the view, the presentation - EVERYTHING!We ended up joining the wine club and cannot wait to go back

We loved our tour with Ramona. She had a great personality and made the tour fun and interesting. We loved the way you set us up in a private room and all the cheeses were delicious.
It was a great experience

Enjoyed our visit! (2 couples) Each wine is paired with a cheese. Perfect combination of flavors. Helpful staff (not pushy!). Make a reservation and embrace your visit!

One of our most favorite winery. Been a member about 10 years. The staff is awesome very arrentive . Always a wonderful & relaxing experience, not to be missed

We had a wonderful experience here. Everyone was super nice and the wine was delicious. I would recommend this to others.

My husband and 5 of our closest friends celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a weekend getaway in Sonoma and, of course, wine tasting was a part of the weekend's events. The personal attention and service was lovely and the venue is spectacular. Of course, the wine was delicious.

We did a private tasting of Gary Farrell’s single vineyard Pinots and were very impressed. Each vineyard produces a very distinct wine and makes for an interesting tasting flight. The facility is beautiful, the staff knowledgeable and helpful.

We enjoyed the entire experience. Steve, out host, was especially knowledgable and fun. Oh, and the wines wern't bad either!

The setting for the tasting was magnificent. Weather was perfect and the view outstanding. Wines were great, especially liked their Pinto.

Came up to the Russian River area during 4th of July weekend and had GFW on our to do list, as it is one of our favorite wineries in the area, not only for the great staff, views but especially the wine tasting and pairing that we enjoyed on this trip.
If you are in the Russian River area or near by you need to put this winery on your "to do" list and spend the time to enjoy their amazing wines and amazing views of the River Valley.

The wine and cheese pairing was the best by far in all the Russian River Valley. If you can score a reservation, be sure to stop here!

We love GF. We are happy members of their wine club and enjoy taking guests to tastings there. The food parings are a nice touch and more than most other wineries do.

We had a fabulous experience here. Relaxed and informative. The wine and cheese pairing was perfect! Highly recommend a visit here if you are in the area.

The entire event was awesome. The location has spectacular views, the wine was awesome and pared with some yummy food. The cat is pretty cool! Super fun people.....

We had a great time at Gary Farrell Winery. The staff was very professional, attentive and informative. It was a relaxing atmosphere and the wines were fantastic. Reds and whites!

We had Tiffany as our wine guide. She was knowledgeable, very hospitable, educational, and made our experience wonderful.
Wines were excellent and the food (mostly cheese) pairing was done really, really well. The view and premises are well appointed.
I would go back again and again.

Love this view— the local mountains, valleys and then to the table in front of me. Tall glasses filled with sensual mature tastes of the local vineyards of Sonoma. Wonderful!!

We had a terrific tour and tasting...Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging! My wife and I really enjoyed the setting for the tasting and the wonderful view over the vineyards and the valley. I would highly recommend a visit to Gary Farrell!

The setting atop a mountain was magical and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would also add that this experience is a great value. For the same price or less than other wineries we visited, we not only tasted several wines but also received a different cheese to accompany each wine. None of the other wineries included this - either you had to pay extra or it was not even offered.

The staff is very knowledgeable and explained the staff was very knowledgeable on the area, difference in grapes depending on location and how that played in the wines. The cheese and meat parings were fantastic. We relaxed and enjoyed the wine and view.

First, the property and the views are about as good as you could ask for - high atop a hill overlooking a valley. The service was excellent, Steven was knowledgeable and poured is a couple extra offerings that weren't on the set tasting menu. However, the wines are the stars of the show. Excellent Chards and Pinots!

great experience. your associate serving us was very good. nice parings of cheese which we both enjoyed. wines are always great. hope to be back in December.

My wife and I went to Gary Farrell in late September and were very impressed. We've been to some other tastings and this was right at the top end. For an hour or more it was just the two of us with a very nice young man providing us wine, cheese, and information. We were impressed enough with both the Pinot and the Chardonnay to sign up for their wine club.

Among the best Pinot Noir in Northern California!
Very precise and efficient organisation.
Easy parking.
Tasting: we tasted all the pinot noirs, excellent, very expressive and with personality.
They have several vineyards in different areas of the Sonoma Valley, so we were able to see the various variations of pinot noir.
Focusing entirely on pinot was our specific request, but there are also other excellent vines including the very elegant and refined chardonnay
Material: in hundreds of tastings I have never found leaflets and maps so precise and full of important information.
Thanks to the very kind Laura who assisted us.
The location is very well looked after in all aspects.
Cost: the best pinot noirs cost around 50-60 dollars per bottle, a correct price when compared with other producers in the area.

We had a wonderful time, with their great wines paired with cheeses, looking out over the tasting room and the scenery outdoors. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. It is hard to distinguish one tasting room from another, but they made it special and we want to go back again.

The winery grounds were beautiful. Our wine tour was very informative. The staff was exceptional. The wine paring with the cheese was really great and the wine was excellent.

The personalized menu cards and table setup were a nice added touch. Great intro into the vineyard and the wines. Cheese and crackers were also nice to pair with the wines. Great views and friendly service also a good combo.

We've been here several times and never fails to impress. Beautiful view- the best in Russian River probably. Wonderful wines. great hosts

What an amazing time at this winery. Beautiful and peaceful location off the beaten path. We were greeted by some fun people and quickly introduced to our concierge for the morning, Howard. I can't say enough about the tasting. Howard spent so much time with us, educating us on wine tasting in general, the wines and vineyards they source from. A wonderful charcuterie board accompanied our tasting of 6 Pinot Noirs from the various areas/vineyards. Just a delightful morning. Can't wait to attend a member event soon.

My husband and I visited the Gary Farrell Winery for a tasting in July and had a fabulous time. Chris did and excellent job describing each of the wines that were paired with various cheeses, breads and dried fruit. The property has the most incredible view of the valley. Their wines are excellent, but not overpriced. They don't grow the vines, but purchase the grapes from different wineries in the valley. What a novel concept!

If possible, you all have outdone yourselves again. Unfortunately Chris was traveling so we were warmly welcomed by Kevin. Our blessing was that he had spent the previous day coming up with some food pairings... Totally brilliant. Made our testing even that much better. He obviously knew the wines and took us through them and let us enjoy our time there. We never want to leave. By far still the best winery in CA and we will visit anytime we are close. Look forward to being back soon. Robert & Wendy

Our party of eight was so impressed by not only the wines but the hospitality offered at this premier winery. The wines are world-class and a treat to savor.

Private tasting - Dom was great and we had a good time and enjoyed the wine and conversation. Dom was knowledgable and the setting was beautiful

We had a marvelous time at Gary Farrell Winery with our friends. The wine is delicious and pairing with cheese was superb. Great fun and knowledgeable employees.

My girlfriend and I are big fans of Gary Farrell wines, so I made it a point to do a tasting there during her surprise birthday trip to Sonoma. Great call. The Estate Concierge Lisa was very accommodating in setting up the tour while our Ambassador Ramona could not have been more friendly. When she found out my girlfriend is Italian, she excused herself to bring in another Ambassador, Adrienne, who is also fluent in Italian. What a blast! We were the last tour of the day and they took extra time to share some truly great wines, cheeses and conversation. Made my girlfriend feel like a real principessa. Thank you for a memorable day!

Incredibly disappointed in the wine and the lack of response from the team at Gary Farrell. We were members for over a year, did have a good experience tasting, but once the wines were ready to drink at home, they were terrible. We have 10+ memberships from wineries in the Russian River and this is the only winery we have had issues with. Messaged the team and they chose not to respond to me.
In summary, if you would like to go for the views and a tasting, possibly worth the visit if you have exhausted other wineries in the area, but don't purchase the wine and store it for the future. You will be very disappointed. There are a lot of other options in the area.
I have been traveling to Sonoma for 12+ years, visiting over 100 wineries. This is the only winery in which the wine has not met expectations.

When you're in the area I would strongly recommend visiting Gary Farrell Winery. At our last visit (we are winery club members) we found a duo was singing, and the experience felt very much like a house concert except there were fewer people than at a typical house concert.
Typical tastings at Gary Farrell are a very nice experience but their special tastings are exactly that, a very special experience with premium wines poured with small bites accompanying them.

I've been member of Gary Farrell since the winery was built. The staff and winery would be a highlight for someone exploring Sonoma. Being a member of several other Sonoma craft wineries their Pinot Noir stands out for it delicate, flavorful, drinkable character. Staff understands hospitality.

The first time I visited Gary Farrell with my friends visiting from Spain just coz that’s where the road went, we didn’t have an appointment (and GF is by appointment only). Luckily for us, they had an open spot and accommodated us. The views, wine and cheese were just amazing!

My wife and I visited Gary Farrell for a tasting on a recent trip to Sonoma, and we generally found the winery and its wines to be unremarkable. Although the setting for the tasting was lovely with really gorgeous views, nothing else about the experience itself stood out. The wines were forgettable, and we didn’t leave with having learned much about the winery or the wines.
When we arrived for that afternoon, we were taken through the very nice indoor tasting room and brought to the outdoor patio for our tasting. The patio is a very pleasant spot, with sweeping views of the Russian River Valley. It would be a great spot to just sit and enjoy the view even if there wasn’t wine tasting involved.
The flight of wines was pre-poured and ready to go when we arrived, which may not have been the best idea since it was pretty warm out that afternoon. The same goes for the nice cheese plate to accompany the wines – it was already sitting out, which didn’t work well by the end of the tasting when the cheeses were getting on the overly soft side. The tasting included two whites and three pinot noirs, and I thought they were fine, but neither of us was particularly excited by any of them. There was also a bonus pour of an additional pinot noir at the end, which was also perfectly acceptable, but also not memorable. In general, the wines here were the kind of wines that I’d be happy to drink if someone gave me a glass, but aren’t wines I would ever go out of my way to purchase, especially since the bottles aren’t cheap.
The set of cheeses to accompany the wines was actually the star of the show for me. I thought the cheeses were really excellent and paired well with the wines, so I actually left with a stronger impression of the cheese selections than the wine selections, which I’m sure is not the winery’s intent. If they had been selling the cheeses, I would have bought those before buying any wine.
Our host was very sweet, and she did seem to really enjoy the wines and want us to have a nice afternoon, which I appreciated. The only thing that made the interaction with her a little odd was how far she was away from us. It was the same for other tables as well, where the hosts were standing a really far distance from the table (definitely even beyond 6 feet). This made it hard to really interact or have much of a conversation outside of listening to their pre-prepared speech about each wine. I’m assuming this setup is because of Covid, but it lessened the experience and made it hard to really learn more and connect. We did not visit a single other winery on our trip to Napa and Sonoma that was set up with so much distance, and I would have been happy to wear a mask every time she came over if it would have allowed for closer interaction.
Overall, I don’t have anything necessarily bad to say about Gary Farrell, since we had a very nice afternoon visit, sitting outside and taking in the beautiful views. Everyone we met there was very nice, and the wine wasn’t bad, it just simply wasn’t exciting to us or really worth the cost. Given that, we wouldn’t come back, but I also received some glowing recommendations to come here based on the wine, so it may be a matter of personal taste.

Scheduled a visit and we are greeted very warmly upon arrival. Toured the facility and guide was very knowledgeable. Tasting and cheese pairings were delicious,

Fall is a wonderful time to visit, we had blue skies and 70 degree temps. The view from the winery is wonderful and the tasting room was very nice! Lindsey, our tour guide, was great and took her time touring us around the winery and leading us through a tasting.

Gary Farrell hits the mark. Beautiful winery and building. Educational and fun facility tour. Super friendly host and some of the best wine. This has been on our short list for some time and was finally able to make the visit. If you are wondering about this place, don’t hesitate. Make the time to go check out this top notch operation. Exceeded expectations.

An enjoyable experience. Very infomative/educational. great wines!
enjoyd learing about each wine and their flavor profiles.

Love sitting outside and drinking GF wines at their lovely winery. Staff is so friendly. Jesse was fantastic! Thanks!

Gary Farrell Pinots and Chards are excellent. You must make an appointment. Tastings are relaxed and not rushed. I like going in January because you have no crowds especially on rainy days. Make sure your car is in good shape. The short drive on a nice road is steep to the winery. Love the wines so much I am a wine club member.

We really enjoyed our Gary Farrell Wine tasting experience. The wines were outstanding of course but the views, ambience and wine tasting insight and service were truly lovely.

I am a Virtuoso Travel Agent and visited with our team about a month ago. I was fully impressed by the knowledge of our guide and host. It was all presented beautifully, wines and pairings were amazing. Well done! I will be sending clients your way!

Awesome Pinot tasting with great pairings. Second year in a row we have come here. The view is amazing and so are the staff.

We've been long time members and make it a point to visit your winery whenever we are in the area. This was a family trip (all adults) and invited them for the tour and tasting. Everyone loved the experience. Outstanding as usual.

We've been to the Gary Farrell Winery, but we live in Colorado wine country, so this "visit" was online. The folks at Gary Farrell were very knowledgeable and quite helpful, and the price with shipping for some of the top class wines we tasted at the winery was surprisingly reasonable.

Our tasting at Gary Farrell was wonderfully informative and included cheese pairings with our wine. Every wine we tasted here was excellent. They specialize in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. If those are wines you like, you should definitely add Gary Farrell to your list of wineries to visit. The outside seating was comfortable, the views outstanding and the service top notch. Very highly recommend this tasting experience.

Great experience! Kevin was a terrific tour guide and taste leader. Great wines paired with amazing cheeses in a beautiful setting

Host was great and so was the wine! The location has a beautiful view and exceeded all expectations!

Great experience. Perfectly matched single vineyard Pinots with cheese pairing. The view from the tasting room was spectacular. I would definitely recommend.

Gary Farrell Winery was a wonderful experience for us. The scenery and winery are absolutely beautiful. We had a wine tasting with Kevin who did a terrific job as he educated us, was a pleasure to spend time with and the wines were wonderful.

Our impromptu visit was greeted with welcoming hospitality. The setting is gorgeous and relaxing. The wine is top shelf and fabulous. We definitely recommend a visit.

I already loved Gary Farrell wines. However, the tasting experience was exceptional. The tasting room is elegant yet cosy. The view was amazing, particularly with the fog over the Russian River. The cheese pairings were perfect. And our servers expertise was top notch.

I've been a member here for a number of years. It's just such a calm and relaxing place to enjoy delicious wine. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The views are gorgeous with inside and outside seating and you can't beat the wine - some of the best in the Russian River area.

Our visit to Gary Farrell was wonderful! I highly recommend it! They were very clean/ safe and had amazing wines. They also let us purchase a bottle of wine and drink it on their patio!

A few weeks ago we had a wonderful tasting at Gary Farrell Winery. The wines were delicious. The charcuterie board paired beautifully with the wine tastings. Alex, our wine pourer was knowledgeable, interesting and fun! He helped make our tasting one of the best on our trip. Thank you so much Alex! We are looking forward to serving Gary Farrell wines at our future dinner parties.

Our trip to Gary Farrell Winery was beyond expectations. The service was exception and the wine was first class.

Thank you to Kevin for making our experience as fantastic as possible. Wines, view, experience were all above expectations. As a result, joined club.

We went to Gary Farrell (for the 2nd time) Dec 29, 2018. Kevin was our tour & tasting guide and was terrific. The tour is too-notch and the wines are wonderful. Highly recommend!

The Gary Farrell Summer Soirée was beyond our expectations. The renovated tasting room takes full advantage of the beautiful setting in Healdsburg. The wines paired well with the foods chosen for the day beginning with a Rose of Pinot Noir followed by two Chardonnay’s with the charcuterie platter and two Pinot Noirs with the incredible paella. The food, wine and company were plentiful!

We had a very fun and relaxed tasting and wine education at GF. We were greeted with their Russian River Chardonnay when we arrived, and they had us all setup with custom printed tasting menus for our group on the inside and outside...just in case we changed our minds about where we wanted to sit. The cheese pairings are a nice touch an included with your tasting. Their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are all very good. Great views and customer service at GF is top notch. Would visit again.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff, terrific views, and yummy wine. The cheeses that were paired were perfect and very high end. Would highly recommend this winery

Super visit and superb tour and wine tasting! Spectacular views and wonderful hosts. The wine sampling was exquisite and the discussions regarding wines very educational and precise.

Where everyone knows your name...
It's not my local bar, but the staff at Gary Farrell welcome me by name each time I go. I delight in bringing guests there, it feels like a private club. The GF wines stand up to the best of the pinots in Sonoma, and in my opinion, better. Teresa has a light hand when it comes to making wine and it shows well in layered, light but full mouthfeel of fantastic varieties of pinots. Each time I go, I find a new favorite, but closest to my heart is the Bien Nacido. Best of all, the servers don't tell you what you're going to taste, they let you discern it yourselves and help you define what you're tasting by asking questions. This is not an amateur tasting where the folks at the bar tell you exactly what you're going to taste before you sip it, it's an elevated elegant experience, for the discerning oenophile. Not to scare away a new pinot lover - they welcome all comers graciously.
Fingers crossed that someday they will venture into sparkling wines....

This repeat visit didn't disappoint my friends and me. The view is beautiful and out tasting setup on the terrace was perfect. The wines are fantastic, especially paired with delicious cheeses. Gary Farrell pinot noirs continue to be my favorite. This winery is a little off the beaten path, but absolutely worth the easy drive.

The wine is amazing; the staff is friendly, professional, and informed; The winery is lovely; the events are top-notch.
I have been a member for several years, and drinking wine here, drinking at home, being a member, and engaging with this wonderful winery Is one of the best wine experiences in Northern California wine country.

Great wines especilly the Pinots. Couldn't have asked for a better tasting with beautiful views from the tasting room.

My husband and I came to the Russian River valley for a road trip and stay. We then called Gary Farrell for tour and tasting because we have always appreciated these wines. What we didn’t know was the best wines are single vintage and we could only obtain them here. We fell in love all over again!

We greatly enjoyed a private tasting and tour of the property. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. It was the harvest season, and we were able to see how the grapes are processed. What a wonderful experience!

Gary Farrell delivers on every level - great wine, great people, great location. A bit of a hidden gem tucked up on a hill off Westside Road, GF never fails to deliver a top notch experience. Outstanding Pinot, fantastic Chardonnay, and the rare Sauvignon Blanc that is out of this world. If I had only one day in Sonoma, this is absolutely where I would go.

I have been fortunate to do wine many wine tours and this was the best, most relaxed, and most informative... And the wines are superb

If the wines alone were great, a visit would be worth it. If the views and setting were all that made the place worth a visit, that would still be adequate motivation to go. But the wines are great, the vistas unbeatable, and the staff is friendly, accommodating, and attentive. What more could you ask for?

Our first time to visit and enjoy Gary Farrell wines gave us both an excellent, professional and personal tasting of a number of graciously shared wines (with a cheese plate for pairing) along with a venue that is beautifully designed with great views and private settings to try their wines. The pinots are more Burgundian on our palates that other surrounding Russian River wines but were well designed by the winemaker and luscious. We ordered some and are looking forward to seeing how they pair with other foods.

Sunday Tasting at Gary Farrell Winery. Very picturesque to start. The management team was fantastic. Our server = a Somm = was Tiffany the terrific ! Greeted with a Chardonnay & then led into our room. Tasted 5 Pinots with food bites. All the wine & food pairings were great - outstanding. Tiffany was very skilled and knowledgeable. The property is amazing. Book it in advance. We did the top level tasting. Yum !

We tasted at 20 wineries in Sonoma and this was definitely one of the best. Excellent wine, friendly staff, a lovely facility--who could ask for more?

Really enjoyed our tasting at Gary Farrell. The wines were delicious and the tasting included a well thought out cheese plat. I'd happily go again !

Beautiful views and better wines. An architectural gem. We had great service and knowledgeable staff

We experienced an Elevation Tasting. Chris was a wonderful host. His explanations about the pairings really added to our enjoyment. The patio has a great view. We visited seven wineries over two days and this was my favorite.

I have worked as a sommelier and wine director over the past 5 years and Gary Farrell wines have never ceased to impress me. However, the tasting room experience was beyond impressive.
My girlfriend (who also works in wine) and I came for a visit. We ended up visiting 17 wineries during our time in California and Gary Farrell was easily top 2! We were fortunate to sample not only their impressive Russian River expression but also the single vineyard selections they feature exclusively at the winery.
The ambiance of the tasting room was elegant and homey. Gabe was a tremendous host and wealth of knowledge. I'd recommend a visit to anyone heading out to wine country.

We had a great tour of the winery and were then presented with a wonderful wine tasting. The wines were very good and the accompanying cheese was just plain awesome. Great job!

After a rainy Saturday we went to visit Gary Farrell on Sunday at 1pm. The sun came out, and we could enjoy the breathtaking view. The staff were welcoming, and really took their time with us. Truly like visiting someone's home to try some wines.
We decided that it couldn't have been more perfect!!!

Great tasting experience. Great people great facilities and great wines. Definitely one for the list.

My experience at Gary Farrell's was by far the best tasting experience I have had! The wine, cheeses, view, and personalized tasting experience were A+

Very knowledgeable for both novice and expert wine drinkers, unfortunately it was raining while I was there but otherwise the view of the valley is grand.

Gary Farrell is my favorite wine and the staff are always amazing and helpful! I would recommend this gem to anyone who enjoys wine.

We visit Healdsburg, CA several times a year ... we love wine. This was our first visit to the Gary Farrell Winery, although, I have loved their wines for years.
They have a great assortment of Pino Noir, Chardonnay, and Cab.

Wines are excellent, hospitality superior, and the view is second to none! We would recommend this tour and tasting, especially for groups under 20 in number.

This is a do not miss winery among the 700 plus in the area! Beautiful views and stand out wines. Totally worth the drive.

Amazing tasting and tour. Highly recommended if only for the view from the patio...but then there is the delicious wine. So so so delicious.

Loved our morning here. Enjoyed the hostess who had some great information and a nice relaxing personality. Some of the best wines of the trip. Love the Pinots and Chardonnays from the Russian River Valley

Stephen Neeld was our tasting host. He is a delightful man with an easy going personality.
Stephen guided us through each tasting, sharing stories of the wineries and their history. The cheese pairings were perfect, as was the setting! We now live in Virginia and we look forward to the arrival of our wines in the future!

Fantastic experience. Staff is very thoughtful and wines were outstanding. We sat on the outside patio and the views were as amazing as the wine. This was the total package.

We were so enthused to obtain a reservation at this hilltop winery. Everything was fantastic. We opted for the hour long $35 tasting that included Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and cheese! It was a beautiful relaxing day spent with my adult family members from out of town. The wines and the newly renovated sit down tasting room were unparalleled, with incredible views. And of course, we bought wine to go!

Gary Farrell is a fabulous winery. The people are great the whole experience is like wine tasting in your own home. Highly recommend.

My husband and I visited your winery for the first time. The grounds and the winery are beautiful. Our tasting was done by Nick and we clicked immediately. The wines and the cheese parings were wonderful and made the experience one that we will always remember. We have already suggested to a number of people that they visit you.

What can I say!! The total package........
Breath-taking views...impeccable tasing room......personable staff...individually crafted welcome and tasting notes...great wines...could have spent the day there.
Hiighly recommend.
Great library of wines!!
A very memorable visit!!

We really enjoyed our tasting at Gary Farrell. Kevin, our host was very knowledgeable and good company. The wine was sensational and so was the view. For this East Coast couple it was a great California experience.

Had the most wonderful time here on a girls trip! The tasting was the best that we did during our long weekend in Sonoma. I loved the wine and cheese pairings - and sweet George, their female winery cat! I am dairy free and really enjoyed that the cheese pairings had so many goat cheese options! Delicious. I am ready to go back.

Enjoyed our visit with a group of 9. Views are lovely. The tasting room is high up on a hill, surrounded by tall trees - very peaceful. Interesting place that sources all its grapes. Our tasting of Chardonnay & Pinot Noir was paired with cheeses. We enjoyed everything we tried. One in our group joined the club. Hope to be back!

Exceptional wines, gracious hospitality, delicious wine/nuts to accompany the juice, and our emcee Neal. Neal is funny, knowledgeable, a hoot all around. We love the whole vibe of GF and intend to re-visit annually.

Fantastic setting and private tasting. Excellent Pinots with a broad range. I very much enjoy their Chardonnay too though. Our hostess was very knowledgeable. Turns out it was her first time going solo, which I found shocking as she seemed like an old pro. We'll be back here soon with our friends.

the morning was educational, peaceful and full of wonderful wines that were presented in a well thought out order paired with delectable bites that enhanced the experience nicely - our host was extremely knowledgeable and friendly as well as flexible allowing us to taste additional wines. Great overall experience for the seasoned visitor or first timer alike.

The view from the tasting facility for Gary Farrell is fantastic, plus you get to taste wine! Enjoyed the wine and cheese pairings and the information provided by our host.

Terrific views, GREAT wine and some outstanding cheese pairings at Gary Farrell. They were very responsible (social distancing) as well. We joined the Grand Cru before arriving, and the experience (and, did I mention, the wines? Just outstanding!) reaffirmed the decision. Can't wait until the next time!

Our first time to Gary Farrell. A lovely location in Russian River area with great wines. Augmented by a light pairing of cheeses sitting out on the patio to enjoy the view. A bit chilly and they provided a blanket for my wife. Especially like their Pinot Noirs

The view, the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the wine make this a can't miss place to spend an afternoon

We had an outstanding private visit at Gary Farrell. Wines were very fine and beautifully presented. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. The vista from the tasting room is beautiful. A great way to gain exposure to this outstanding viticultural area along with very fine Pinots and Chardonnays.

VIEWS! The most amazing winery for views, stellar service & great wines. We could have sat outside on their deck for hours. The staff were all terrific and we felt pampered with superb wines toooo.

We stopped in at this winery with no appointment and they graciously took us in, through their beautifully appointed tasting rooms to a terrace with
Spectacular panoramic views! We were seated under a sail-like canopy on a gorgeous sunny day.
We enjoyed four lovely wines, each paired with its own perfect piece of cheese and crackers. It was absolutely perfect in every way. The wines were fantastic and yes a higher price point. We bought several bottles and they did not disappoint.
I would definitely recommend Gary Farrell Winery as
A great wine tasting destination!

Our host, Steve Tellez, was very well informed and most gracious. We were a party of four and our tasting was "al fresco." A wonderful experience.

We loved everything about Gary Farrell. The wines were outstanding with great price points, our host was knowledgeable and fun, and the setting is absolutely lovely. The accompanying cheeses served with our wines were thoughtfully chosen and perfectly complemented the wines. This was a highlight of our trip.

Was not an enjoyable experience. Felt like a exam at school with a strict teacher. Wines pour were tiny and few and far between. White wines were warm due to the long winder pourer guy.

I cannot love this place more! The wine is delicious, the cheese pairings, amazing! Kevin is an excellent sommelier with a fun personality to go with it! Very knowledgeable and passionate about wines.

The Gary Farrell product is well known for high quality. I have enjoyed for many years. This 1st time tour gave me insight into why it is so outstanding. Did not disappoint,

This is a fabulous combination of stellar wines, killer views and a great tasting experience. If you are in the area you must stop in.

Definitely worth the trip. Beautiful winery! Alex Martin handled our tasting and made it fun and informative. The views were beautiful, and the wines too!

This winery is great. Perched up on a hilltop and feels very different than being on the valley floor. The staff were all welcoming and professional. The wine is great too.

Called while 20 minutes away and luckily they had an opening. Jesse met us at the door and guided us through our complete experience. They already had a personalized menu with our party printed on it. Once we told her the other couple was celebrating their 25 year anniversary, she printed new cards for them. what an experience and memory. amazing view and ambiance. Definitely a place to bring friends when they come visit. And oh, the wine was very good!

The new tasting room is beautiful! We were there on a day when it was pouring rain and still could imagine how nice the space would be in nice weather. We were very well taken care of and loved the wine. Look forward to a return trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed the visit from the moment we were great! Amazing hostess that did everything right (well, except for serving a corked wine - oops!), but the engagement level was spot on and shined beyond views and wines!!

My wife and I were impressed with the wine, winery, staff and surrounding vineyards. Look forward to tasting the bottles we shipped home. Will definitely recommend Gary Farrell to family and friends!

My girlfriends and I arranged an exploration tour, cheese + wine pairing on January 30, 2019 at Gary Farrell. It was absolutely marvelous and our host was perfect! The wines that they produce are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel---all delicious. The view is so beautiful and stunning as well as the decor. Remember this winery is reservation only so plan ahead when visiting this area.

Nothing beats a lovely Spring day along the Russian River... unless of course its a lovely Spring day at Gary Farrell. A beautiful and warm house made even more beautiful by their gracious and friendly staff. Tiffany was simply wonderful and shared so much of her knowledge with us we didn’t want the tour and tasting to end. A visit to Gary Farrell is a must-do in Sonoma. You’ll not find a better Team or experience.

Great host, beautiful tasting room and great wine. What else could you possibly want from a wine experience? Oh yeah, a drop dead gorgeous view. They've got that too!

By far the best winery experience we had during our visit to Sonoma. Special shout out to Trey, our wine ambassador. He was an absolute delight. He did a great job feeling out the vibe that we were looking for and we were constantly entertained. Could not recommend him and this experience enough.

Great wines and great employees! Enjoyed the Cheeses and White and Red wines. Would love to come again and partake in your fabulous wine.

Spectacular hilltop setting. Spectacular Wines in the best Pinot Noir region in California. Friendly, laid back tasting. Highly recommend Gary Farrell!

We didn’t know you needed reservations but Dominique allowed us to come in for a “splash” of a few wines. He was absolutely charming and gave us a bit of the history of each of the 4 wines we sampled. We sat on the outside patio and the view was spectacular. Inside was equally impressive and there was a private room inside with an even more spectacular view. The wines were very good and the experience even better. Thank you Dominique for letting us “crash” into the winery!!

Our most recent visits is our first since the tasting room remodel, and the new design lent well for casual, relaxed tasting without having to stand at a tasting bar. Samantha was a lot of fun, giving the usual spiel of the wines and history, but doing so without pretense. She would pop in, pour us 2 wines for side by side tastes, give some background and then disappear while we swirled, sniffed and tasted without worrying about our host. As always Gary Farrell wines are superb but Samantha made it fun!

We had a incredible time! Tasting paired with cheese and a tour of the winery.
The staff was very knowledgeable and even suggested other wineries to taste at
The views could leave you speechless.

Our tasting was the best tasting ever in many trips to Napa. Our host was excellent, the building and tasting room is beautiful, and the wines are now our favorite wines. We joined wine club and are looking forward to coming back and spending more time on the patio when the better is better. Great place to celebrate my 60th burthday.

My wife and I recently visited GFW for the second time. We had both an enjoyable and educational afternoon, possibly even more so than our first visit. The facility is very attractive and airy, the staff very knowledgeable along with being fun as they walked us through their various offerings and of course the wonderful wine appealing. We will surely be returning on our next trip to Sonoma.

Wine tasting during a pandemic is a contingency that no vintner could anticipate. Nevertheless, Gary Farrell has thoughtfully implemented a safe and elegant experience that overlooks nothing but the beautiful scenery that reveals itself from the Gary Farrel terrace.
Wine and cheese are presented to the visitor, and links to a fully interactive website provide a table experience that enables visitors to learn about what they are tasting. The masked staff are smart and friendly, offering advice about the excellent Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and other grapes that make their way into the GFW bottles.
Membership options are fairly priced and provide several delivery options.
Reservations required and visitors must wear a mask to enter.

Our host, Kevin, was extremely knowledgeable and guided us through a superb pairing of 6 wines. Well done was start to finish.

We had a short girls' trip out to Napa and decided to take drive over to the coast one afternoon. As a bonus, we planned a tasting at Gary Farrell and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Neal was our assigned host for the day and he was so much fun. He entertained us with his stories and jokes. We had beautiful weather and gorgeous views on the patio. The wines were good and I brought back a bottle which I look forward to sharing with hometown friends soon. Would definitely recommend this a visit to see this stunning tasting room and delightful patio!

Beautiful wine, view and wonderful employees. They were so great in following Covid protocols and the estate was spotless. Really lovely wines! What are you waiting for? Make a reservation... go!

One of the most enjoyable winery visits in my life. The setting, the wines, the host, the pairings - all were above and beyond expectations. A truly remarkable first class experience we will never forget.

Gary Farrell Winery offers a wonderful tasting experience on a lovely deck with a beautiful view. The staff is well informed, friendly, and accommodating. The pinots and chardonnays served were excellent and the experience was enhanced by comparing the wines with the cheeses served. Very much looking forward to our next visit.

Absolutely gorgeous winery site...start a sunny morning here on the outdoor patio and you will be in a good mood all day. Wine is impeccably made, although restrained...a bit more French style than California style (but of high quality...just not "fruit bombs"). Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. A must stop for people who like more subtle wines...but everyone should visit there at least once for very well made wine and an incredible view.

This was our first visit to Sonoma Wine Country and Gary Farrell was the stand out! The tasting room is beautiful with stunning views! Julia, our host, was delightful... She's very knowledgeable. We enjoyed chatting with her. Excellent wines with great cheese pairings. The overall vibe here is friendly & inviting. We can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!!!

Gary Farrell is one of the original Russian River Valley wineries and their wines are world class, every one delicious. The cheese pairings enhance the flavor even more. Setting is gorgeous, overlooking vineyards, the river and the ridge in the distance. Special kudos to our host Sam whose carefree insouciance was a good counterpoint to the comfortable but what could otherwise be intimidating interior elegance.

Trip Advisor- #5 thing to do? Can’t imagine a better way to spend an afternoon. Haley hosted us in such a welcoming, informative and professional way that we had to join their wine club. We joined to enjoy their chardonnay and pinot noir but more importantly to return and relax in their tasting room (inside and out are both fantastic).
The accompanying cheese selection with each wine was the icing on the cake.
The entire staff made this visit the first of many- see you soon.

We visited the winery to celebrate my wife's birthday. We enjoyed the Elevation tasting on their patio. The wine and cheese paring was wonderful. Our server was a delight. The view from our table was absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend.

The ambiance, views, and cheese were all magical and your
wine was very good. Glad we decided to visit.

We've been Gary Farrell wine club members for a long time, for good reason. Great wines, wonderful people and a beautiful location keeps us coming back. Thanks!

When we stayed in the Sonoma/Healdsburg area, our resort concierge recommended that we try Gary Farrell as one of our wineries to experience while we were in the area. This was our first stop and it was an amazing winery- only open for reservations only (no walk-ins).
We arrived a few minutes before our tasting and were warmly greeted by the host staff and shown to our table, overlooking the beautiful Russian River hillside area. The views from the winery are absolutely outstanding.
We learned from our host that the owners of the Gary Farrell Winery don't own any of the vineyards, they only procure the grapes and they're the wine maker. The wines were all drastically different and some of the best Chardonnay's we have had on any of our tastings we have done in Napa.
The host was so knowledgable and very warm and friendly. We went away with a new found appreciation of their winery and purchased a bottle of wine to take home with us for a Christmas gift. Gary Farrell is truly an amazing winery and I highly recommend trying it if you're in the area! We look forward to returning!

This winery is beautiful and the view is stunning. The wines, especially the pinot noir, are excellent and the seated tasting was very informative and very well done.

Just what we hope for in a tasting. We are Pinot nuts and everything about our visit was great. The cheese pairing was perfect and our hostess was awesome. Joined the club and look forward to a return visit. I would definitely recommend Gary Farrell to our friends.

We enjoyed both the wine and the experience at Gary Farrell. They have both indoor and outdoor tasting areas. We were outdoors, which is covered with shade screens overlooking a beautiful valley setting. . We were greeted by our host and seated at a table previously prepared for us. The wines selected for us to sample were selected based our preferences supplied before hand. Our host was extremely knowledgable about the wines, fruit, regions, and venting. We were also provided a nice serving of selected cheeses to enjoying with out tasting. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase, even thought we did. Overall, a great experience!!

Wonderful experience . We had a great time tasting the wine and learning about the vineyard. It was one of our best experiences. Highly recommended.

Will you had a wonderful time with Jesse as our tasting Room guide. We injoied the quality of the wines and also the care of it goes into making them from the soil samples in the tasting Room To the fine selection of Cheese that were with the wine.

Gary Farrell is one of the best wineries in the Russian River Valley. It is an out of the way place on a hilltop with a great view of the area. We were welcomed and felt right at home by Neil and Ellen. The tasting of the wines was an enjoyable experience. The wines came from different vineyards from around the valley. They were paired with different cheese and crackers.

Employees and Organization:
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave Gary Farrell’s friendly and smiley employees ensured you felt welcome and safeguarded that you were taken care. A very seamless and professional operation. Within two hours of departure the general manager voiced her appreciation for the visit via email. Likewise, wine purchase voucher confirmation was provided via email within two hours.
Tasting Presentation:
Outstanding presentation, information provided was relevant to the tasting theme, very well presented and organized. Subject flow was outstanding and it was supported with photos and soil examples. Conference room was impeccable and decoration supported presentation theme.
Host: She was very professional, much familiar with the wines and food paring, knowledgeable of the Gary Farrell organization and history, and mastered the presentation delivery and subjects.
General Manager:
She was also very professional, friendly, assertive, and direct/clear on her answers. Holds a can-do aptitude. It is a pleasure to talk to people that do not spin the conversation around in order to avoid the answer.

Incredible views, staff... and of course... there is the wine! We were pampered from the moment we arrived.

The facility is quite incredible, with comfortable seating arrangements both inside and outside. Staff is very knowledgeable about the wines/vineyard and very welcoming with their attitudes and demeanor. Nibbles offered to eat while tasting their wines complement them exquisitely. Oh, yeah, and with all this you are tasting some of the best Pinot's in California...

Great host, great venue. One of the best we've done. I would definitely recommend visiting Gary Farrell Winery.

Beautiful view, wonderful wines and knowledgeable, helpful staff. Looking forward to another visit and enjoying my purchase. Thanks.

We took a tour of the wine facility and then did a tasting. Ramona was wonderful! She was warm, friendly, open and very knowledgeable. She really made our experience perfect!

Outstanding Pinot Noirs made especially worthwhile with the cheese & cracker pairing added. Purchased two bottles of single vineyard Pinots before departing

Great weather as it was warm and sunny. Excellent wines to enjoy along with some paired cheeses. Very attentive wine expert to explain what we were drinking. We have been wine club members for years so highly recommend.

Located near the top of a hill, the view overlooking the Russian River valley added to the relaxing experience with beautifully paired wine and cheese. Since it was harvest time when we visited, we even had a taste of pinot grapes.

This is the ultimate experience at a winery. So friendly, amazing service, top notch wines, cheese pairings and beautiful views and interiors. My husband and I both said, we will not only come back, but it ruined us for wine tasting at other places. Worth the tasting fee and reservation. Definitely, go to Gary Farrell!

Classy spot atop a hill with knowledgeable staff and delicious single vineyard wines. Steve was a great host. He led an informative tour and more importantly a fine tasting

We came to visit on a very cold day and were seated inside the cozy tasting salon with a gorgeous mountain view. The wines were incredible and Tiffany, our host, was fantastic - very knowledgeable and friendly! I like great wine and nice things, so if you're anything like me I recommend checking out Gary Farrell.

We showed up with two more people than we made reservations for (10 total) and they were very gracious in accommodating us. The setting here is absolutely beautiful so we didn't mind waiting as they set up our new table. The wine and the cheese pairings were delicious and they were great describing the various wine to accommodate our wide range of wine knowledge.

Being long time wine club members we decided to stop by and reaffirm our club choices. We were not disappointed. The beautiful surroundings only add to the wine we have grown to love. Make an appointment for a special tasting and you gain so much information, even when you’ve been here before.

Possibly one of the best tasting experiences I have encountered in the 15 years I have been coming to Wine Country. From start to finish, service was first rate. I was in town on business and just had a two extra days to visit wineries and I am so grateful I included this one. Views on the patio are breathtaking and the wine is sublime.

We had a great time at Gary Farrell’s! The tour was interesting and the wine was great. Definitely a top pick and we highly recommend it. The property and views were amazing.

We had a great experience at Gary Farrell. The setting was beautiful. We had an excellent host and the wines were amazing. This was one of the highlights of our wine tasting trip.

Traveled a long way, only to be greeted by a sign saying ‘by appointment for tastings’, no cars in the car park and no one under 21 permitted. Your level of “exclusivity” = zero business and bad reviews / word of mouth. Catch a wake up, your wine and view are far from world class and treating prospective customers like this is outrageous. Never in the many countries and vineyards I’ve been to have I seen such palava.

Chris was our server and he was amazing. So knowledgeable and kind and really helped us learn about the landscape of the grapes and wines we were drinking. He made the visit so worth while and we would definitely come back!

Our sommelier was knowledgeable, interesting, and entertaining! The winery and view are beautiful! Despite the rain we had a great time and even saw a rainbow on the way out!

Beautiful winery, with great views. Had a wonderful tasting experience with cheese plate. Nice variety of wines and Neal was a fabulous host!

We scheduled a visit to the Gary Farrell Winery for our last day in wine country, and we definitely saved the best for last! The view was breathtaking! The wine and cheese pairings were perfect - so much so that we purchased a few bottles to bring home. We cannot wait to visit again. This winery is a must visit! Thank you. 🍷

We visited on a weekday morning and we were able to have a private tour and tasting. Tiffany was fabulous -- she even gave us a recommendation for a spot to visit in the afternoon and a restaurant to try for dinner (both of which were great). The setting was stunning and we enjoyed relaxing outside with our wine.

Classy, elegant and beautiful wines that represent Russian River well. Strongly recommended. Relax and enjoy this vineyard.

These are my favorite Pinots and Chards from Russian River. The facility and view is magnificent, anrd the staff were very helpful and attentive. A must stop in Russian River area.

This is a fantastic winery! It is very representative of the laid back atmosphere in Napa with superior wines. The pinot’s are to die for!

Went there at the suggestion of my son. The tour of the winery was not available so only saw the tasting room which had a decent view. Wines were expensive but nice. Had some wines sent to my son. Cheese selected for wine tasting was great. Overall a nice experience but expensive experience.

This was the third time we have been to Gary Farrell and just like the last two experiences it was amazing. The service was awesome and we renewed our wine club.

Absolutely loved the experience. Spent the weekend visiting several wineries. Gary Farrell stands alone. Our host was extremely knowledgeable and unpretentious. The wine and cheese pairing was spot-on. Definitely my favorite of the weekend. Wine was unparalleled.

Everything about our visit here was very professional, with high quality wines and staff and a view that is unmatched.
From the way that we were greeted, through the entire tasting experience the visit first rate. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable, the process was at a very easy pace and the setting was wonderful.
The wine and cheese paring was excellent and you could tell that a lot of time and effort went into picking the right cheeses.
Of course, the wine was all fantastic.

Even though it was rainy and gloomy day, we were uplifted by our visit. The staff was super friendly, our host, Howard was very knowlegable and made the experience challenging and interesting - as well as delicious. We are excited that we joined the Gary Farrell wine club and already rec'd our first shipment. Excellent customer service.

Dropped in without an appointment and asked if we could taste. We were accommodated without hesitation and, as always, the wine was fantastic and our host was wonderful.

Great tasting experience. Beautiful view, knowledgeable, friendly host, and great wine! Not a bad combination. Will definitely return again.

Loved Gary Farrell Winery. The ambience, view, and host were just the best. And oh the wines...just delcious! Very pleasant and lovely experience and can't wait to go back!

Thank you! What else can I say to truly summarize our experience! This is one of the most beautiful locations. The venue is spectacular! Upon our arrival there was a mix up of our reservation, and in the most classy of ways - they welcomed us, and comped us a tour and tasting. Tour was fascinating, tasting was classy, informative, comfortable, tasty!!! We tried to get to Gary Farell a year ago and neglected to make a reservation and there wasn't an opening. So a year later we landed here and the wait was well worth it! Wonderful wines! I'm not typically a Chardonnay drinker, but we tasted what was the best Chard I've ever had! The Pinots are absolutely lovely,,and couldn't leave without purchasing one! Thank you again for a beautiful experience and look forward to searching out Gary Farell in Colorado!

Had a wonderful experience! Loved the venue and the wine. Our host was very friendly and accommodating! Obviously we joined!

My husband and I really enjoyed the wine and cheese pairing outside on the terrace. The views were beautiful, the cheese delicious and the wines impeccable. The staff was very friendly and informative. It was our second visit to Gary Farrell Winery, and it will definitely not be our last!

We had a wonderful tasting experience in the salon. On a warmer day it would be great to sit out on the terrace. We were impressed with the personalized tasting menu. Such a nice little touch. The wines are primarily pinot noir and chardonnay. When our server, I wish I could remember his name because he was wonderful, noticed we did not care for one of the wines in our tasting he brought us another to try. The cheeses paired with each wine were all yummy. This is certainly a winery we will visit again given the opportunity.

Gary Farrell is now on our must stop list when we visit Sonoma each fall. The wines were incredible. My husband says I’ve never met a wine I didn’t like, how true with Gary Farrell wines. The view from the terrace where we had our tasting was amazing. Chris did a wonderful job of presenting the wines with an added bonus of a cheese pairing. Nice touch putting our name on the wine tasting list. One of our best wine tasting experiences ever.

The wines are amazing as expected, Steve took great care of us, and the property and the views were very nice.

Great scenery. Sommelier was excellent, taking time to explain the wines & not rushing us. She also provided some excellent restaurant recommendations. The wine tasting comes with charcuterie board, which not all the wineries include. Many good wines as well.

The wines are a good representation of the Russian River Valley. Excellent Pinot and Chardonnay. Non pretentious or stuffy as we heard later from past visitors. Tasting room and view beautiful. Service friendly and knowledgeable.

Gary Farrell is one of my favorite wineries to visit. I also own a winery in Sonoma so we go to a lot of other places to taste and experience what others in the industry are doing. Not only is the location absolutely gorgeous, but the hospitality is so laid back and genuine. And the wines are all lovely, too (actual great wines are harder to find than you think).
With so many wineries to choose from, Gary Farrell is always at the top of my list when referring guests to other great experiences. They also added a simple yet effective cheese pairing to their tasting and it's done very well.
And they have a winery cat. Obvious draw!

We were fortunate to get an appointment for wine tasting on a beautiful day.
Our hostess was Lisa and she was very knowledgeable about Gary Farrell winery and all their wines. She was friendly and made the wine tasting fun. The pairings of the fruit, cheese and meat with the wine were all spot on and delicious. The grounds were beautiful and the outside covered patio was perfect for tasting and enjoying the view.
Lisa made some very good suggestions for our purchases.
Great Job to Lisa and the staff at Gary Farrell!
.

First time at the winery. Couldn't have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect and Tiffany was terrific. Excellent tasting with great cheese pairing. Thank you! We'll be back.

Such a wonderful experience tasting great wines. Outside seating is so peaceful and views are amazing. Allow time to truly enjoy this special winery.

Great winery with some of the best Pinot Noirs in California. Everyone at the winery including the GM and host for the visit Stephan were great.

The sit down wine tasting was outstanding. The wine was really good and the cheese pairings were delicious. The vista backdrops made the whole experience unforgettable. Thank you for a perfect start to our wine trip through Sonoma.

One of the best tour/tasting experiences during our 3 days in Sonoma. Had an knowledgeable guide to view and learn about the processing steps and facilities. Private tasting room & beautiful setting.

We visited Gary Farrell with a group of friends. We are wine lovers and it was our first trip to Sonoma.
Gary Farrell was the last winery we visited and I believe we save the best for last.
The tour was very good and the private tasting experience marvelous.
We joined the wine club and already received the first shipment.

We arrived right on time for our appointment and was taken on a tour of the production area of the winery. GF was gearing up for the harvest and Kevin told us how the grapes come in, how they are processed, and then took us to the barrel room. Really cool experience if one has never done it.
Kevin then led us through tastings of 5 wines paired with cheese. The combination of the wines and cheeses were excellent as was Kevin's explanation. All in all, it was a wonderful experience for the four of us.

Great wine, great location, and great staff. Would recommend without question to Pinot and Chardonnay lovers.

You absolutely need a reservation here and it is 100% worth it. This was our first winery in California and it did not disappoint. From when we met the concierge to leaving was a spectacular experience. We learned so much about wine and had a very relaxing time to enjoy the amazing wine. I can not wait to go back. Thankfully we were able to have our favorite selections of wines shipped straight home to NC for us packaged perfectly for care.

Good wine, good service, and exceptional view from a beautiful winery! Charging for my Tesla was a bonus!

Great food and wine pairings. The view and drive to the winery was gorgeous. Can't wait to come back.

My wife and I visited Gary Farrell Winery based off the recommendation of another great Sonoma winery also located in Sonoma. We really enjoyed the insider tip to try Gary Farrell and we were not disappointed. Their Pinot Noirs are elegant and smooth with delicious, juicy fruit. The tasting was all laid out for us before we arrived with a beautiful table overlooking the Russian River Valley. Definitely worth a visit, highly recommend!

Amazing as always.
Great people , great wines , great atmosphere. This was not my first tasting experience with them and we will be back the next time we are in Sonoma

My group participated in the "Exploration Tour and Tasting". The experience included a tour through the wine-making facility followed by a hosted wine tasting. Our host was friendly and engaging, as well as very knowledgeable. The wine selection was fantastic! The whole experience was first-rate!

Everything from the reservation and the moment we arrived was top notch!
Our tasting was poured and set up on a patio table with a breathtaking view.
Kevin did an outstanding job explaining the pours and cheese selections.
While we are Pinot and Cabernet connoisseurs and chose this winery because of those preferences, we went home with a bottle of 2017 Chardonnay because it was the first of its kind we enjoyed.
The 45 minute journey from Calistoga to the Gary Farrell winery was beautiful. We highly recommend booking a reservation for a very personal and private tasting with some of the best wines we had in Napa. We will not hesitate to stop again when we come to Northern California or order. If you live in the area, take advantage of the wine club. Thank you Kevin for an outstanding introduction to Gary Farrell wine.

What an absolute joy our first visit was to the Gary Farrell Winery. Hospitality was exceptional and the views were breathtaking to say the least. Refined, well appointed, totally relaxed atmosphere abounded and the attention to detail fabulous. So pleased with everything that we joined the wine club on the spot.

Full disclosure: the wildfires in the area were staring to pick up, and most (if not all) were either calling to reschedule or outright canceling the day before. GF called us with 5 minutes until our tasting (literally as we pulled into the parking lot), then dropped off the flights (said it wasn’t safe to be outside - we all have masks on now) and went back inside and didn’t come out again; but encouraged us to view the winery history on YouTube at our leisure.
It was a little hazy but far from “dangerous” (this was early September).
Based on the treatment, it’s unlikely I would return again - as other wineries that canceled were far more accommodating and organized.

Wasn't crazy about the wines chosen. Hated the outdoor furniture we had to use (way too big/deep for comfort). The host seemed like a knowledgable, corporate clone.

Kevin did an excellent job of explaining the wines during our tasting. Wished we had sat inside as it was rather warm on the patio. Would go back again and I did join the club.

We always have a wonderful time at Gary Farrell. The staff is extra attentive and the wine is smooth.

Beautiful location and view. Patient and non pressure tasting and questions answered. Reasonable priced good wine.

Wonderful experience. Our host was great. The view of the Russian
river valley awesome. And the wine was superb. I just wish it wasn't so expensive!

Beautiful facility, great tour guide, interesting tour and memorable tasting experience. Even though the rain and mist prevented us from experiencing the views from the winery, it was well worth it all the same.

Great wines and setting. Only downside of visit was the inexperience of our host. She was new to the job and was not up on the wines.

We first discovered Gary Farrell Pinot Noir 12 years ago on a trip to Sonoma. We just loved it. When we found ourselves back in Sonoma, this was the first tasting we wanted to book. The tasting room is now as beautiful as the wines, with glorious views over the valley. They also have a lovely patio, but it was too cool for the day we visited. The tasting here is really fun because it feels like the server is there just for you, describing each wine for you personally. Nice cheeses accompany the tasting.

A stunning view, a friendly staff and a variety of delicious wine and cheese pairings created an overall wonderful experience. Kevin guided us through our tasting and was clearly very knowledgeable about each wine we had the pleasure of tasting and the vineyard it came from. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of information I was given on how each grape was grown and how it effects the wine it produces. I would highly recommend anyone to attend and would be eager to return myself.

What a perfect tasting experience. Gary Farrell winery goes the extra mile to bring you an informative, relaxing, and high-end tasting. I joined the wine club and cannot wait for my first shipment. Looking forward to returning soon.

We had a wonderful visit to Gary Farrell. The view from the top of the hill is stunning and the tasting was lovely. They provide cheese pairings with each wine, which was a great touch. I would definitely recommend visiting and would love to go back.

We were looking for wineries not well known nationwide. On recommendation of an online food & wine writer, went here, wonderful place. Pretty view, most importantly great wines with depth and character. Loved the artisan cheese pairing. Our educator, Laura was low key and had a nice balance of talking with us and letting us taste and relax. A classy experience! Near Guerneville, Sebastapol, Santa Rosa & it’s airport. ( American and Alaskan)

Its was a magical experience and love the wines. Customer Service was outstanding and tasting room and grounds were tastefully done. Wine pairing really brought out the characters of the wine and complemented the cheese as well.

Wonderful sit down wine tasting paired with great cheeses. The wined were great and the views were stunning.

Stephen was a wonderful host on my visit to Gary Farrell. Very personable. The wine tasting experience itself was great. I really liked having them all side by side for direct comparison (3 chards, 3 Pinot noir). The cheese pairings were a great treat, really enhanced the tasting experience.

We had an excellent visit to Gary Farrell. We have been here twice before and since our last visit they remodeled the area and it is amazing. Wonderful wines and scenic views!

We were greeted by our hostess Sam, you was very nice and knowlegable. She made our experience at the winery wonderful.

Fabulous view and some of the best wine in the Region! I took my girlfriends to visit Gary Ferrell and set a high bar for the rest of the weekend!

My coworker and I visited Gary Farrell on February 17 (I also visited in Nov 2018). I am a Connoisseur member so they treated us to a complimentary tasting of 4 wines, each paired with delicious cheese. It was a perfect sunny, crisp morning with spectacular views, delicious wines and cheeses and a knowledgeable host. My next tasting theme is Russian River Valley so I ended up buying a few bottles in addition to my club shipment. Highly recommend their distinct but elegant wines.

Sam was excellent as was everyone and everything else about the experience! So impressed, we even signed up to be members!

Gary Farrell has by far some of the best Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays in the Russian River Valley. We have sampled wines made from the same grapes, and definitely prefer them!Tasting room is awesome!

Alex was super fun and knowledgeable about the wines. We sat on the patio outside and it was just beautiful. The wines were paired with a little cheese board which enhanced the tasting. It was a great experience!!

Had a great visit with family and friends. Great view and excellent wine. Food pairings were very good.

We started our day of wine tours at Gary Farrell and it was wonderful. Very relaxing and enjoyable and the wine was terrific. The décor was beautiful inside as well as the outside on top of gorgeous views. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We would definitely go back.

We recently attended the annual crab dinner at your winery. My wife and I traveled from southern California for the event and were not disappointed. The ambiance, setting, food and especially the wine were fantastic. We walked away with 5 additional bottles to enjoy. To top it off, We had a great conversation with Brent about all things Gary Farrell. His insight and thoughts made the night.

When touring and tasting wines in the Sonoma wine country, one fully expects a pleasing venue with a wine bar and perhaps some fun merchandise to browse. At Gary Farrell Winery, wine tasting takes on a whole new level. A staff member will seat you and your friends in a comfortable and quiet room, much like a living room. There, you will be given a menu card of wines and cheeses paired, personalized with your name and the date. As you enjoy the pairings of wine and cheese, your personal staff member will serve you and tell you all about the wines you're tasting. The wines are excellent and the personal service is beyond any other wine tasting I have ever enjoyed. When in Sonoma County, you must reserve a tasting with Gary Farrell.

We visited on March 30, 2019, with Stephen as our host. From the beginning, Stephen was gracious and informative. Our tasting was wonderful, and he really paid attention to what we were liking and directed us to other options that fit our palate. All while enjoying the most beautiful view in RRV. Truly a Five Star experience!

We we first arrived we were given a welcome drink and able to walk a bit outside and enjoy the view. Our wine and cheese tasting was tastefully set up in a private room. We were given a pamphlet with lots of information about all the wines we were tasting and what local and foreign cheeses were paired with it. The cheeses were to die for, really some of the best cheese I have ever tasted!
I was really looking forward to tasting some pinot noirs but was a bit disappointed. Was very surprised that I enjoyed their whites more so than reds. Their whites were balanced with full-mouth feel though clean and less oaky than traditional french which were very refreshing. Their reds were more medium bodied with smoke and spices than I expected, one of them was referred to as tasting like BBQ potato chips. Liked the enthusiasm of the sommelier that took care of us and her creative way of explaining the wines.
I would say the overall experience in itself was amazing, though I really wish that they had a vines we could have explored. There is pretty much just the tasting room. I think I preferred wines from other vineyards more, but I can respect the quality of their wines. It was lovely having a private tasting and it was very intimate. Almost no one was there so the atmosphere was very nice, quiet, and relaxing.

The salon is California cool yet relaxing. The tasting room and the outside terrace offering amazing views while enjoying world class wines. Their staff expertly pairs delicious cheeses for each wine selection. Loved it!

Gary Farrell team was welcoming and calming! We had a great time, the view was beautiful and the knowledge of wine making and history of the winery was wonderful !

It was a quite a drive out in the countryside and very picturesque! We were well taken care of the moment we arrived to our finish. We were escorted out on their deck with gorgeous unobstructed views! All 6 glasses were pored with the lovely cheese & food pairings. Our wine guide gave clear explanations & then left us alone to taste & enjoy. Then she would return for the reds. I highly recommend this winery.

We make annual trips to wine country and very rarely make repeat visits to any winery. Gary Farrell is an exception. Beautiful property, great wines, and great hosts. We always have a blast there.

Our wine host, Trey, was fun and informative. The wine and cheese a were delicious. Great views from the terrace. Overall a delightful experience!

The wine tasting experience at Gary Farrell was outstanding. Stephen led our tour and tasting and he was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. Our visit was definitely on of the highlights of our trip to Sonoma.

Nice tasting with cheese pairing. Tasting was pricy for the wine you could taste. Overall prices of wine were too high.

We arrived and from the first step to the last wine and goodbye the time spent at Gary Farrell was the best. We are now on board and ready to return after our winter of delivered wines.

Some of the finest wines in Northern California. We had a larger group and their hospitality was over the top. We tasted 8 wines including two library wines and all were very good, the Pinots were fantastic. Highly recommended.

Tasting at Gary Farrell is always one of the best experiences in the valley. Thats why I always go back.

We enjoyed our visit and tour of the winery.
The views were breath taking, the tour was very informative, and our host was delightful. We appreciated the thoughtful presentation and tasting.
It was a wonderful way to end our trip to Sonoma.

The views from the building were absolutely beautiful! We were a pretty large group so we split into 2 groups of 6 after the tour. My group did a fabulous wine tasting with Steve. The 2 chardonnays and 3 pinot noirs were excellent, though we each had our favorites. The cheese provided for pairings were so carefully and perfectly chosen for each wine. This was a wonderful experience!

Gracious Excellent reception, excellent wines. Their pinot is my favorite and chard is up there as well . Highly recommended

An absolutely beautiful winery with great wines and exceptional customer service. We were spoiled with extra cheese and additional tastings that were not on the menu. Our host, David, shared his wife knowledge of wine with us and answered all our detailed questions.
Having been to many other wineries, this tasting has set a new high bar for customer service . We love the wines here - both the Chardonnay and Pinot.

From the wine guide, Kevin, to the tour experience it was all first class. The wine is wonderful and this tour is highly recommended.

Had a great time. Wines are balanced and well made. Staff are knowledgeable and the facility is beautiful.

My wife and I have tasted wines at Gary Farrell for a number of years. Each time we are rewarded with an exceptional experience. This last tasting, in October, was no exception.
I think the folks at Gary Farrell Winery have managed to strike a perfect balance between being an upscale, appointment only winery with one on one attention from your host without being pretentious. And that’s a fabulous thing in the wine world.
