Stop and observe and people watch, however most of the tourists had left for the season.

Still very beautiful and peaceful.

Have attended yearly for the LEO Polar Bear plunge. Always enjoy our time at this park. Offers many facilities and is always clean. Worth spending time at.

By Julder |

You can either drive, ride your bike or walk (if you don't mind walking for a while) to get to this park. There is abundant free parking however. The grounds are always nicely maintained and it's definitely a nice place to escape to to get back to nature for a while after spending time on the strip. There's a public beach, fishing and trails for bikes and walking/running. I also believe that there is an archery range and campground there (but I haven't used these).

Fantastic view of the Lake. Couldn't choose a nicer place to stay. Geneva on the Lake offers so many fun things to do. Best of the best hotels/motels in the area.

By aurunner98 |

We are always looking for a lake front beach to visit early in the morning with our dogs; this looked ideal. Unfortunately the beach is covered with trash at 6 am. I spend half my time there with a bag picking up trash that others left behind.; balloons, shoes, water bottles, paper, hangers, and there is broken glass all over the parking lot. Well, you get the idea. It's just a shame that people can not respect a treasure that they have and treat it as such. I would not recommend you walk barefoot at this beach; you never know what is just below the sand.

As travelers who depend heavily on TripAdvisor for guidance, we were dismayed to see so many negative reviews for the campground and beach at Geneva. Since we were driving from Indiana to New York, and didn't want to drive straight through, Geneva was the only choice we had. Deciding it was just a place to sleep over, anyway, we went ahead and stopped. It was a week night, and we were the first tent campers to arrive. The lovely woman at the check in gave us the best of their few non-electric sites, which featured a large umbrella shaped tree to set up under. Other than a bit of traffic coming and going, it was lovely. We didn't get a good look at the electric sites, but from passing by it did look and bit cramped in there. The beach was actually clean and beautiful. We spent a couple of hours swimming and sun drying there in the late morning after packing up, and didn't see so much as a cigarette butt. The water was reasonably warm, once you got in. It was hard to imagine e that people there two weeks earlier had been appalled by it's condition, so I can only assume that someone worked very hard to restore it, and I think them very much. We enjoyed our stay there so much that we hated to leave so quickly, and on our way home we actually planned to stay another night. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, but we will likely be going back again sometime soon.

Excellent beach for family. Great shaded picnic areas at the park.
Well staffed and alert lifeguards on duty.
Tender feet require 'water shoes' due to rocks on entry to the lake water.

By travis |

What a great location for a picnic or BBQ! Pavilion and tables equipped with charcoal grills. All with a view of the lake and most well within eye shot of the playground for the kids. Was a nice break from the Geneva on the lake "excitement" for the afternoon.

By Erin F |

The Beach is rocky, but it was fun. Take water shoes. We rented a kayak and paddle board and had a great day!

By Don055 |

Nice beach area, very clean throughout the campground. Many of the spaces appeared to have some good shade, but we were surprised how open, like a lawn, it was between the campsites. Very little privacy in that regard, although the park was otherwise laid out well, with ready access to water sources, and nice bathroom/shower facilities...

By FoodieCarol2017 |

So enjoyed a couple, outings here recently. Not overly crowded. Clean water, even a great place for kayaking.

By Fred N |

Great wine, food, scenery and not that far from home. Was disappointed that the entire downtown was closed for the season. I want to come back in the summer.

By Tbell1 |

there are many nice paved trails for hiking. There is also a marina and a nice beach! Nice place to visit.

By Mary T |

Nothing better than a cabin right on the water and the waves lapping along the shore as you drift off to sleep! Ideal for kite flying, hiking, watching the sun set and the sun rise. Ideal shelter house for family groups.

By 19Danny56 |

The state park is located on the shores of Lake Erie. It provides lodging in the beautiful hotel or individual cabins, bike and walking paths, a marina, restaurants, and a walking distance to Geneva on the Lake. The park and lodge have made a beautiful addition to shores of Lake Erie for people of all ages.

By jimvalvic |

This is one of the best Marinas in Northern Ohio.
Many things to do including Geneva On The lake, fishing, boating, eating, and Hotel Lodge next store.

By LisaJA569 |

The hotel was clean and relaxing. There is an indoor and an outdoor pool as well as hot tubs. This was great because you could still play in the pool even it the weather did not hold out. Loved enjoying a cocktail by the pool. In the afternoon there was lemon aid and ice tea for the guest to enjoy. We enjoyed riding the complimentary bikes through the paths. Just a short bike ride to the beach. It was a nice little three day get away for my family and the hotel had everything we needed. The Town is like going back in time. So many different places to choose from to eat and we drove around and saw several covered bridges. I would recommend Geneva on the Lake to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway for family, couples, girls weekend a destination for all!

By MT H |

Nice, clean State Park. Lots to do. Clean beach. Newer cabins. Marina is well maintained and busy. Nice trails.

By Sheryl B |

What a beautiful park! The beach was not crowded, and clean. There were miles of walking trails throughout the park, and several maps showing routes. Wish we would have had more time to explore. Was not very crowded even in middle of summer.

By rescueagreyhound |

Site 55. Very uneven ground with tons of large roots throughout the entire site, partial to full shade. The site is large but finding a place for our 10x10 tent was difficult. We do use cots so it did not bother our sleeping, but the roots where nasty to walk on. Unfortunately, during our visit it rained, flooding and making the site muddy. We understand that the weather is out of our control. The mosquitoes are a serious pest. We have been to other state parks with lakes and streams without giving mosquitoes a second thought, but here they swarm you.
The restrooms across the street were closed, not sure why. That was an inconvenience. Further down the road the other shower house was clean. Three individual shower stalls, each with a tiny bench and two curtains made it private. The water pressure is great. Hot water seemed to come and go with every toilet flush.
Overall, the campground is nice, just not one of our favorites.

By gak20130 |

Very nice loving to look at the lake and walk along the beach will go there again and again and again

By David C |

Very nice set up for a small beach. Somewhat rocky (which we found typical of the area). Bring lake shoes unless you have iron feet. Plenty of parking. Public bathroom was clean. We visited on a Monday and it wasn’t too crowded.

By Barbara C |

The campground was just great - lots of shade and big lots. If it rains not so good but we did not have any problems. The beach is nearby and is big. Wear water shoes as there is a line of rocks when you get in the water and they really hurt your feet. Wear flip flops on beach as stuff has been plowed over and once in a while something sticks up. We enjoyed our stay and will go back next summer. Lots of stuff to see and many restaurants in Geneva on the Lake plus other things like putt putt golf.

By artgurl33 |

The beach at Geneva State Park is like any other “beach” in Ohio. When you compare it to Florida or a beach on the ocean you’re going to be disappointed. The beach was clean of trash, but had a lot of rocks and sticks. Standing in the water you’ll be standing on mostly rocks. I’d recommend bringing water shoes. Our nephew (2) and niece (10) had an amazing time. There are shaded areas off the beach that you can sit for a picnic. The parking lot is big and we had no problem finding a spot at lunch time.

By Crystal B |

Lots of paths to just stroll along. Boat docking and other various water activities available. Dogs allowed on a leash. Great for some quiet time or taking the kids for a dip in the lake.

By Karla S |

We stayed here with our motor home when returning to California after a visit to the Niagara Falls. It's for us the right place. They have two areas. One for campers with pets and another for campers without (which we liked).

T & K from California.

Geneva On The Lake Erie Only 100 Mile Trip From Massillon,Ohio On Friday July 24 2015 It Was Like Being At The Ocean Almost. A Nice Get Away Trip Closed To Home At A Small Resort Town.
Not Much In The Stores For Older People As Me. This Was Only My Second Trip There In Many Years..The Usual Stores When Your In Your Beach Areas - T - Shirts And A Couple Stores With Harley Things & Gift shops .. It Was A Beautiful Day On The Beach ,One Long Strip Of Stores & Several Stages Set Up For Bands And Partying Down In The Evenings. Some Rides For The Kids There In Town, Also A Water Slide., Lots Of Places To Eat. We Ate At Eddie's Grill , Very Nice Very Comfortable Open Air Diner Back To The 50s - 60s Style Place With Oldies But Goodies On The Juke Box & Also You Can Pick & Play Songs From Your Booths. But After Putting 25 Cents In It At Our Booth There Is No Sounds Coming Out At The Table Speakers Like When We Was Young , But Only From The Junk Box. We Had Two Foot Long Hot Dogs & A Large Fry No Drinks $13.40 Also Two Large Ice Cream Cones Next Door At Dairy Queen $6.00. We Stay Down In Independence , Ohio.
I Really Enjoyed Being Up There Again & So Close To Home It Is..
Not A Myrtle Beach Or Virginia Beach By No Means.
But For A Get Away I'm Sure Most Of You Close By Would Enjoy& Like It.

There is a walk way here that can be started in various places, me and my family enjoyed this location well. There were very nice views and rocks to sit on the the lake!!! Would recommend this to anyone. On our walk through here we seen Birds, Deer, and even a Mink!!!

By batboy66 |

Great place to go for a afternoon in the sun or a hike in the woods, good beach and the strip is just down the street.

By kim d |

We stayed at the campground with our travel trailer. The sites are large and nicely spaced but all were wet and quite a few were unusable due to the amount of water. There is a nice walking/ biking trail to the beach and lodge and marina depending on how far you want to walk. The beach is rocky so bring your water shoes. It was not pristine but nor was it as dirty as some as the reviews have described. Dogs are allowed on the west end of the beach. There is a construction project going on right next door which you can hear going on all day long starting early in the morning. Despite all this the trails were nice, the lake is pretty, we saw eagles and herons and lots of wild flowers, and it's close to other fun attractions.

By Karen D |

Fun for all. It was during a heat wave when we visited. Plenty of shade and a nice breeze off the lake. We road bikes to downtown bars.

By Gerry |

Geneva State Park doesn’t have all that much, but they do have a marina, a great beach (for Lake Erie), cabin rentals, a lodge, and camp sites. Conveniently located next to Geneva On The Lake, which offers a mini carnival like experience with arcades, bars and several good restaurants.

By Craig |

Clean, waterfront access, restrooms, plenty of parking, and a shelter with picnic tables...a very nice place to spread a blanket or plop in a chair and listen to the waves of Lake Erie.

By Craig T |

The beach has great soft sand, not super long, but kind of wide. Quietly placed off of Geneva, connected to a great hotel and lodges. Close to wineries as well.

By stevegotl |

This is a great little state park in a beautiful area, right along the shores of Lake Erie. Plenty to do in the park and in nearby Geneva on the Lake, Ohio's oldest resort. There is plenty of charm and fun here..... Camping, boating, swimming, biking, hiking, wineries, mini golf, regular golf and foot golf, zip-lining, geo-caching, dancing, and so much more....

By Sadfrantz |

We have been staying at the Lodge at Geneva a few times a year since the lodge was built. It is unbelievable that all the tables and umbrellas have been removed from the pool deck and tthe drinks being served at the poolside tiki are drinks you can purchase across the street at the local convenience store in plastic bottles or cans. There absolutely is no place on the pool deck for small children or people with sun related illnesses to sit in the shade! It is really unbelievable for the extremely high nightly rates and resort fee charges that there isn't such amenities poolside. I would explore other lodging options if you plan to stay at Geneva on The Lake.

By Traci P |

My husband and I were passing time while we waited for the winery's to open. We stumbled upon it, great sites! I highly recommend everyone take in the observation deck at the Bluffs to view our great lake.

By DCNC |

plenty of parking, clean bathrooms, wide beach. Not as pretty as Presque Isle. Rocking and windy. Nice picnic area.

By lmcclain |

There is a beautiful view available here. The beach is clean. There are a few attractions in the area, but not a lot to choose from.

By Joseph C |

The views are fantastic on the pier. Especially at sunset. The park over all is small and not much to run around but still nice.

By bbmuller |

Had visited Geneva on the Lake many times in the past and had never seen this beach until today. It is beautiful and just one more reason to visit.

By Thomas E |

My wife and I love this park. It has so much to do. Take a leisurely bike ride along Lake Eerie, then stop at the beach and jump into the lake.

By Devon M |

My wife and I stayed in the cedar cabins. They are right next to Lake Erie. It's very peaceful and the sounds of the waves are relaxing. There is a bike trail, walking trails, a beach and nearby Geneva on the Lake is a short distance away. I recommend staying here.

By LouLeo2 |

Super nice beach. Clean beach house. Ample parking. Great walking trails. Picnic tables by the beach. Very good place.

By Elaine B |

Great park. Lots to do, right on Lake Erie. Sites are well spaced. I'd come back here. There's a great walking/bile paved path that goes from the state park to Genova - on-the-Lake. Fin little town, good restaurants.

By Beaches1785 |

Every time I go to Geneva-On-The-Lake the State Park is a stop for me because I can enjoy just sitting on the beach and listen to the waves hit the shoreline. This year I got to experience two new fun activities that were added. GOTL WaterSports located in the marina, which allows people to rent jet skis which is great because for anyone who loves the beach and water this is so much fun! I have actually been there twice and each time I fall in love being able to get out on the lake. TheNorthCoastOutpost is the second and this is great because it's located right on the beach in the park. There you can rent kayaks and paddle boards. I got to do both and had so much fun because your by the beach and it's relaxing. I will definitely go back to both businesses!!
I recommend hitting those activities and then visiting the strip afterwards especially hitting Madsen Donuts! I know for Fall I saw that the JetSki rentals at GOTL WaterSports will be open into October so there might be another trip to see the shoreline with the different season!
Oh and can I say one last thing....the sunsets!!!! AMAZING to watch from the beach and the marina!

By Rockiroads |

This was a nice big park Marina and trails, I ended up staying at their docks for 2 nights. A bit of a walk into town by taking a waterfront trail shortcut but worth it. The roads nice and winding, large trees and a big walking trail system. There was a small beach beside the marina, a bi of a walk to. A Funky swampy water area with weird trees and vegetation on the inner side we drove by that was neat. Nice looking park.

By palmlover0 |

Very scenic. Lots to do! The beach is clean and well guarded. Camping, cabins available. Short drive to the strip.

By jrummie |

We stayed at the geneva state park while touring the local area wineries. We have a 40+ foot camper. It was easy to put in the site and sites are very spacious. There is a beautiful bike/ running/ walking trail. It is alomg the water and makes for beautiful scenery. The shower house was clean and the water was a continuous run shower, which is nice. Check in and out was simple and no hassle. We actually was due to check in on a Thursday but didn't make it till Friday. This was no problem. Also I wanted to take a moment to mention a transportation service, Richmond trolley and limo transportation.., they were phenomenal. I highly recommend them!
For the cons:
This was our first and probably last to a state park. There was only one shower house w/ 3 units. With only 3 full hook up sites, this is a way too insufficient number. I had never realized that there is an alcohol policy at state parks. This I guess is wonderful to keep out riff raff, but unfortunately this was not the case here...meaning still plenty of riff raff. Alcohol is to be concealed and only at your campsite. Meaning you can not go for a walk w/ a glass of wine.
Vehicles must be fit on your lot otherwise they are to be parked up at the main entrance. Recall I said our camper is quite large, which means we have to have a large vehicle to hull our 40 ft 5th wheel camper. This means that our 3500 one ton duley truck will not fit on the pad w/ our camper. We also had friends meeting us who have a full size suv. Well w/ each vehicle costing over $60,000 I am not about to leave them at the main entrance...not happening, so we parked illegally in our extra grass at my site while we had a transportation company, Richmond trolley limo company, take us wine touring. This may not be a big deal to some, but I am particular about my belongings and do not want them left at the main gate for riff raff to potentially mess with. During the day, this would be fine, but not happening during night hours.
So to recap : it was a beautiful park, but for us, we are use to full hookup and not so many ridiculous rules.
Not sure if I would return.

By Steve B |

We have been to a lot of Ohio State Parks first time staying here. Sites were large. No view of the lake from any campsites. Campgrounds were clean. There was only 1 showers house with 3 showers for the campground. No real problems getting shower with lines etc. Note on wall said that shower house is cleaned on Monday and Friday which gives me images on a dirty showers, but they were really clean. Short bike trail on site. Never got around to hiking. A lot of wineries around and covered bridges to see. Nice beach which was probably 1/2 mile from campground. Wasn't bad but nothing to make me say I have to come back.

By Amy F |

Spacious sites. High grass. Arrived on Sunday to an electric box not working. After driving 8 hours tired, no one on duty, office manager and park ranger were so kind to help us via phone. Beautiful location but without some headaches etc... no one there to help on site.

By Gitano |

Beach not totally filthy but close to it. One thing is that there is a lot of vegetation debris which has been done by nature. However, among this debris is a lot of other trash - food wrappers, cans, plastic items, and all manner of other stuff. Can be hard to find a decent place to put down a towel. Someone, a government body or business group REALLY REALLY needs to get together to maintain this beach. It needs to be groomed and cleaned at least 3 times per week. As it is now I'm not sure that I would go back. Did not see any other parts of the park except marina. Beach is a sad place.

By Bill M |

Great trails along the water and through the woods. We walked from our hotel and around most of the trail for our daily walk. It was beautiful even though it was cloudy.

By Arvilla F |

We absolutely loved our time on the beach. We were hoping to find more beach glass, but some of the locals said there wasn't much glass this weekend for some reason. We still had a great time though and found some beautiful rocks.

By Claire D |

The beach is sand with some rocks near the water’s edge. They have someone with a big machine that clears the debris and garbage off the beach and smooths out the sand. I don’t know how often it is cleaned, but it was nice the two days we were there this trip and was fine when we visited several years ago. Bathrooms are basic but acceptable. The foot wash was a great help, though only one faucet was functioning when we were there this trip. There is some shade for relaxing in lawn chairs out of the sun. It was busy but not too crowded. Some kids and teens but nothing rowdy or annoying. The few people who ignored the “NO PETS ALOWED” signs kept their dogs on the fringes and did not allow them to leave messes on the beach or run loose and bother anyone. There are picnic tables and a nice grassy area with shade between the ample parking area and the beach. A great place to wade and collect stones. Only found a few tiny pieces of sea glass, but was not really taking the time to do the intensive looking it takes to find sea glass at the lake.

By rcefaratrti1 |

This [park is away form all the bnusiness. Very pristine and clean. There are small cabis you can rent with great view of Lake Erie.

By Debbie D |

rented the jet ski and also had fun at the beach great time! We had the jet skis for a half a day went far out in the lake and jumped off and went swimming for a bit nice and peaceful then stopped at the beach for my daughter to play in the sand we had an awesome time

By JDM732014 |

Visited and camped with family and friends. Campsites are spacious and offer electric, they are bug enough to set-up another tent for teens. Plenty of biking trails. The lake is calm and refreshing. The beach is covered in smooth rocks near the sand but bottom is smooth a few steps out. Will definitely be back!

By CaliTraveler23 |

Clean camp ground with large enough camp sites. The washroom and bathrooms were also clean. About a 10 minute walk to the beach. It rained when I was there so when booking ask which site flood in tjr rain. Mine did...site 13.

By karenjn80 |

I grew up in a city in Michigan where we had many lakes and parks that were a short distance drive away. However, when my family and I moved to Ohio we felt like we did not have as many options. Over the years Geneva State Park has been greatly improved and now has a beautiful beach and park. My family loves to come and take walks and swim in the lake.

By amberly006 |

At first sight I was in heaven then we got closer. The beach is littered with bigger stones and pieces of wood. There was some trash scattered. The life guards were on duty but were very young and quite interested in hanging out with each other. The majority of the 5 hours I was there, they sat at on the sand with each other.

The entrance into the lake is a rock bed. You don't touch sand until you get to about your shoulders. Definitely take swim shoes with you.. It was comical getting out of the lake as I looked like a baby horse walking for the first time trying no to fall on the rocks. Also got a good giggle watching others do the same.

The restrooms were clean for a beach restrooms. It included a changing station and feet rinse off station. They had kayaks and paddleboards for rent. I didn't check the prices. No concession stand.

Beautiful Lakeside Park!! Loads of Rocks!!! Awesome place to visit for those of Us who are Rock Collectors!! So many beautiful rocks. Also a neat little lighthouse!!

By Paul L |

If you are looking for a nice place to take it easy for a few days, the lodge has a lot to offer. Their inside pool area is very nice and only superseded by their outdoor pool area when it is open. They are within walking distance of the marina and several places such as a museum and a winery. There are also other places to go for entertainment and food when the summer season is in session.

By FamilyFunTrip11 |

The park is very pretty. It is along the lake. There is a nice bike trail to ride and it takes you along the lake and in the woods. There seemed to be a couple hiking trails.

By Laurie R |

This park offered a lot for my two grandchildren to do. They went swimming. They looked for beach glass. We rode bikes. We had picnics and a great time !

By John B |

Geneva State Park was clearly the best one of our trip. Clean and functional. Good access to Geneva-on-the-Lake. Great bike trail to town.

Friendly helpful staff. 1-2 bars of cell coverage. No WiFi.

It has its own exit off the coast road so it is easy to find and access.

We would stay again.

By Nicole_120_00 |

The beach was amazing and feels like you are at the ocean. There was a nice bath house and it's free!

By Hugonaples |

Stopped here to relax in the sun and enjoy the lake view. Very nicely maintained and busy marina. Seems to have a lot of great biking/walking paths also.

By Diane C |

We have gone to put-in-bay on lake erie many times and had a great time. This is a very different type of place. Very relaxed, natural atmosphere. Lots of small isolated beaches. Very beautiful!

By Kim B |

We just stopped to see the campground and cabins. The campground was really nice with lots of trees which I did not expect. If I was going this time of year I would request spots 1-37 since they do have a little bit more sun than the rest of the campground. In the summer, I would request the ones in the back 38-93. Across from the campground on Lake Erie the park also 12 cabins which looked cozy with a screened in porch, kitchen/family room, bedroom and bathroom on the main level and a loft bedroom. Each cabin did have a grill, picnic table and fire pit.

By Mindy L |

The actual grounds, cabins, etc were perfect. Our cabin was Clean, towels , toilet paper and paper towels were provided. That was above my expectation. I had brought my own, so thank you. After 2 hours of driving, a cake on my lap, bottled water on the floor leaving me with little to no leg room we arrived at the cabin at 3:30p. I wanted to unload some of the lap stuff and get checked in. The kids were happy and suprised they wanted to take pictures so we did, a park employee actually was very kind and took a group photo so we all could be in it. Another employee came by to clean up the grill and fire pit we opted to keep the wood for our use he was also very kind. My daughter said mom this cabin already open (the doors) so we put the cake inside and I went to check in . At 340p the girl at the office said it was too early and our cabin was not ready. I explained to her it was ready we stopped there first and dropped of a few things. The cabin was cleaned and stocked. I did see the cleaning crew but they were cleaning cabin 2. We are in cabin 1. She again refused to check me in and said after 4. She said a hotel doesn't allow you the check in early why should she. I told her hotels that have the room ready have always let me check in and I travel often. I then said I'd wait 20 mins for 4pm and she demanded I go get everything out. She was very rude in her tone and I said it would take 20 mins to drive back pack up etc. She said she didn't care. So in lue of arguing with her I left & we went to the beach.

I returned around 440pm to retrieve the key . She asked if I had removed my stuff and when I responded we went to the beach , She refused the key. I asked why she wanted to give a hard time to campers who are here for 1 night and to have fun, She responded because you didn't listen to me. I ASKED HER FOR A MGRS NUMBERS SHE GAVE ME HER OFFICE NUMBER! We never did get checked in or get a key. If this girl worked for me I would want to know how she treats people. Otherwise the experience was good.

Ps when the girl handed over the the camping guidelines I found it funny because it states check in time is actually 3pm🤔

When I was a child my folks took me hear. The beech was huge now this year it is gone. A true sign of climate change ? It is something to see for sure

By lalagirl78 |

The beach has a lot of debris on it. Had we brought our bikes I think we would have liked it more. We saw a lot of cyclists. This isn't a bad place by any stretch of the imagination but there are many other beaches with unique features people may want to visit.

By Mary B |

Recently visited Geneva on the Lake, Ohio and stayed 150 yards from Geneva State Park. We decided to take a hike and found the trails to be very nice with lots of wild plants and water holes along the way. We stopped to get a doggie fix (mine were at home) at the marina, and watched lots of waterfowl do their thing on the lake. Relaxing to say the least.

By Bushwanders |

Had a good time bike riding and walking - wish the bike trails went on longer (one path was closed). But beautiful views - the beach looked nice, too!

By bluehighwaysPA |

Loved the bike/walking path - walked it twice from lodge to beach past Marian, wildflowers, gorgeous lake views. Enjoyed the beach... except for the very rocky shoreline... hurt my feet coming in And out of the water. BRING WATER SHOES!
Lake was clean & warm (end of July).

By Connie M |

The Lodge was wonderful with a restaurant, nighttime bon fires, and a large pool that had beautiful lake views. The town had great restaurants, and action (within walking distance), and the winery tours were fun, local servers were great! The lake was perfect!!!

By MAM |

We were on the road traveling east when we stopped, around closing time, for one night. We did not need electric so advised woman registering us of that fact. She placed us in the overflow which was the only option for non-electric. The site she gave us was full of water. We could not even get out of our car without stepping in water on both sides. In addition, we were about 2 blocks from the restroom. The office was closed by the time we tried to return and get another site. In most other campgrounds, this area would be considered either overflow camping or overflow parking and the cost would be minimal. Here the cost was $25 for camping in a field of water.

By Connie K |

Love the location of the Lodge and its peaceful serene environment. The view is breathtaking and I Love the local wineries!

By Fairplay4159 |

After a 750 Mile drive with Maizey, we went to the park and shore at the Lodge and then went to Geneva State Park at sunset. Beautiful clean beach, bath house, dog friendly for her to run and play after a day in a car. The campground and cabins look very nice for our next visit.

By Heidi B |

The Beach was very dirty and very very rocky, it would kill your feet to get into the water very disappointed

By Kathy O |

Loved the view of the lake. The state park is well maintained. Plan to visit again. Loved the cabins in the state park.

By James W |

Went for the day to walk the trails. Was blown away at how clean the place was. Very nice paced walking trails. We went off road and followed a couple of the hiking trails. They were marked and for the most part we were able to navigate and didn't get lost. Can not wait for a return trip.

By Theresa D |

We really enjoyed our stay at the state park cabins. They were clean and close to a playground and the water. We had a grill, sun porch and fire pit area. I would definitely recommend the cabins to friends.

By jamaicalover |

I decided to go to Geneva On The Lake on the spur of the moment with a friend and I was very glad I did. This was such a beautiful, peaceful experience. From the gentle sound of the waves against the rocks to the many other attractions in the area. I will be back again. I went during fall and it is just gorgeous with the leaves being burnt orange colored and red.

By lindamathus |

Great way to get our steps in without risking poison ivy. Can even do while you are dressed nicely after enjoying a meal at the Lodge.

By johnnyfrank66 |

We had over 50 people rent cottages and stay at The Lodge @ Geneva on the Lake !! Awesome time. Bike rides ; close to town ; close to golf. Excellent fun !!!

By James Terry K |

Enjoyed riding bicycles on the bike trails in the park. Nice view of Lake Erie and of all the trees and autumn leaves.

By Gary M |

We have visited the beach a couple times. Not very crowded. Relaxing. Changing rooms available. Plenty of parking.

Good, but not great. A bit pricey. Rooms have only partial view of the lake. Some don't have balconies so be sure to ask. However, dining on the patio in nice weather makes it worthwhile. Pool area is lovely..

By Jennifer A |

You could’ve easily co fused this beach with a dump. I couldn’t let the kids take their shoes off because so much garbage was piled across the beach. Everything from broken glass to foam cups to tampons. It’s really disappointing how little care this park is given.

By vjura75 |

It's a nice little beach to relax on. I love to search for beach glass! Nice nature trail nearby to stroll on.

By Hallee M |

Nice park to have a picnic at the beach and there are clean bathrooms you can sit at picnic table or go down to beach the lake is always so beautiful .

By Richard W |

Stayed here for a week in travel trailer. Had full hookup site which there are only 3. All sites are paved pads with very large areas. Beach area is large with sand. Good paved biking trail that can take into Geneva on the lake. One of nicest campgrounds have ever seen.

By PhilipandBrandy H |

Beach is dirty and trashy. Was concerned about going bare foot on the beach. Would not return to beach. Disappointed

By Jean B |

We rented bicycles on our vacation and road the bike path at the State Park. It is very well maintained and had some nice scenic views. Very enjoyable

By jloomo |

the food was good, service was very good our servers where friendly and fun. our room was nice with a lovely view

We camped here in our motor home for one night. It was a lovely place to stay, with lots of privacy and clean facilities. We would definitely stay here again.

By Kevin W |

Geneva State Park was the hi-light of our trip. It was serene and quiet in places, yet had kayaking, ziplining, and a ropes course. My kids enjoyed it and may soon and I enjoyed some hours of laid back fishing and good conversation.

By Kayla R |

We've been coming here since I was 7. I'm 22 now. We still come up here every year and stay for the weekend or just the day. No matter if it's camping or just enjoying walking around for the day, it's always been my favorite. There's so many things to do. Not just in the campground either! I hope this place never changes!!

By ppalucka65 |

Bike riding, beach, jet skis, kayaking, camping, sailing, fishing, you name it the park has it !!! Very clean and family friendly !!

By 46JimH46 |

Stayed here a couple of nights in our RV. I thought there would be more bike trails, but only a few miles were paved. Electric at all sites and water/sewer available when you leave. Grounds seemed to be overgrown, but I think a lot of rain got the crews behind.

By William P |

If you are a tent camper this is a place to skip. Most of the sites are occupied by RVs and several with television, loud music, and outdoor lights. The party next to us was drinking and noisy until 2am. The next morning, when I complained to the management they said we should have called and somebody would have come out.. It was very late at night and we did not know that we could do such a thing. Live and learn, I guess. But by the look of the place this is a regular problem and we will not be going back.

By lae76465 |

This campground was so nice and clean and close to walking paths and the beach. The town had antique shops and lots and lots of wineries in the area. Quaint town and walking distance in the town to the many little shops and some restaurants.

By Emily G |

The beach here is always nice and clean. There is a life guard on duty at times. No food there and the pop machines are iffy. Not always working. Bring drinks and food. Very nice place though to enjoy Lake Erie.

By 43420linder |

Beautiful facility. Large rooms with great view. Service was VERY accommodating. Traveled with a group and they made us feel so welcome.

By Srmom5225 |

Went here with my teenage boys and we couldn't even swim. It looked like raw sewage. There was so much garbage floating in the water it looked like you opened bags of garbage and dumped it in. Very disappointed. One of the locals said that only happens when it storms but makes me think I don't want to be in there ever.

By TheArdentTraveler |

When we visited and hiked through the park, it was sunny but with a wind chill of around 20 degrees. We walked along the lake for a bit, and then walked some of the trails off the shore that offered a bit of protection from the wind. Very enjoyable place to hike, and will definitely return.

By jerlor |

We were trying to relax on the beach when a young lifeguard came to sit with his vulgar music (cuss words that are not fit for the children that were there) on his lifeguard chair. A lady with her 6 year old were sitting next the the chair when she politely asked him to change his music as it was not appropriate. He told her that it is a free world and no one told her to sit right there and to move if she didn't like it. I thought that lifeguards were there to protect and respect not be be there to show off their attitude... Let's hope this was an isolated incedent. If you know who this "kid" was I think he needs to be fired! He was there from 3 oclock to 4:30. Thank you. Other than that the rest of the day was relaxing..

This rating is for the Breakwater Beach, within the State Park. The beach was a very pleasant surprise. It was our 1st time there. Lots of sand, and very smooth rock beach. The beach is approximately 1/2 mile in length. When we were there, it was a beautiful sunny day, with the wind blowing off Lake Erie, and because of the wind direction there was a 2-3 foot surf. Water temp was in the low 70's. They have a nice beach house for changing, showers, and restrooms. Seemed to be the only beach in Geneva-on-the-Lake for swimming. There was no lifeguard on-duty during our visit. Adjacent to the beach house, they have a sign with the status of the lifeguard. Ample free parking.

By amytim13 |

We visited the beach and checked our the cabins. Very nice view there. There is places there to shower off after swimming. Picnic tables are provided,

By dmcs1011 |

stayed in campground with friends , great location, close to everything and very reasonable rates. Nice, shady spots.

By Brenda B |

Beautiful scenery nice campground. Girl at campstore answered all our questions and was very nice . Beach wasnt very busy

By AuntTra |

We stayed at the lodge nearby and walked to the beach at the state park. I expected the beach to feel like a lake but I was pleasantly surprised. The water was nicer than expected ( I thought it would be green and smelly). The beach area was nice as well. It’s no Atlantic Ocean, but it certainly had a nice feel. I enjoyed being on the beach much more than I expected.

By P Duerig |

Pretty state park. Right next to Geneva-on-the-lake. Trails very well marked and maintained. Quick to get out of town clutter, and into sort-of isolated woods. They offered both kayak rentals, swan boat rentals, and extensive zipline and "tree adventure" options.

By KookyCookie |

We tented in the no pet loop and had a great time. There was a lot of wildlife and the campground is nice to bike around. Wish there was more than the one shower house with three showers in it but it wasn't ever crowded the two days we stayed. Of course this was a Tuesday and Wednesday so I can't judge what it would be like on the weekend. Let me add that the campground was almost full though. The bike path right across the street from the campground is a great bike path 2 miles long to take your kids on. Can't wait for my next tent adventure here!

By Russ P |

This is a great place to go if you want to explore the area and/or visit the many local wineries.
beautiful view of the lake... too. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and service is great.
I'd recommend dining at one of the local wineries that serve food for the best experience. Many of the local places are fast food, mom and pop places, good though. Best place to visit is Farrante's winery(not sure if I spelled that correctly) ask for a tour limo or bus if you plan on visiting a few wineries. This is a great location all seasons. we will go back.

We took our two granddaughters and stayed at the state campground. We all had a good time. There is something for everyone to enjoy at Geneva on the lake.

By RaynaA598 |

Took our daughter to the beach for one last outing before school starts. Enjoyed the water and swimming I'm not much of a sand person but my husband and daughter are and they loved it.

By MistyWolf |

I took my daughter her boyfriend and my niece on Thursday the 23rd. We just drove out for an evening adventure, ate on the strip, and than watched the sunset on the beach. Was a nice time.

On the 27th of July, we went again. This time my sister, niece and nephew, my girls and a couple of their friends. What a great time we had. The kids loved the water (it was clean, and yes, I have heard stories). I did check water qualities before we left on both days. We spend the whole afternoon and the kids had so much fun. That's a lot being half of them were teenagers. You know how hard it is to please teens!

Definitely looking forward to going back out before summer ends.

By amymariepio |

The Geneva State Park rests on the shore of Lake Erie. We took a group of young marines there this summer for a kayaking excursion. Kayaks and paddle boards are for rent on an hourly basis. The rentals are in the parking lot of the State Park beach. There is a large beach area, marina with store and grill. Beautiful scenery.

By TravelingBum10 |

We stayed in the campground for a week. We chose spot 27 for the ample space on the side of the camper. The kids were able to play Frisbees and other games without going into other peoples space. It’s only Electric but there’s a shower house you can use. There’s a nice playground too. It’s a short ride to the beach area and not far from Geneva on the Lake.

By NYMetroMom |

The park is very basic - picnic tables under the tall trees in the shade, small playground, stairs down to the small beach on the lake, small pavillion and rest rooms. EVerything has seen better days. The nature is pleasant, the facilities are tired but clean.

By Timothy B |

One of the best places we have found to camp at. Very clean and quiet. Large camping spots. Friendly office staff. Many things to do in the area. Very nice beach on lake Erie.
Most camping spots are very level and paved. Can only make reservations 6 months or less prior to visit.Going back soon.

By lbmit73 |

We fell in love with this park during our brief camping trip! The location is wonderful -- right on the lake and easy to get to! The camp sites were spacious and laid out nicely, the park was well kept, beautiful, clean, and quiet. The check-in/camp store was efficient and has everything you need in regards to some last minute quick supplies. The cottages facing the lake looked beautiful, although we did not get to stay in them. The paved walking/biking trail from the cabins over to the beautiful swimming beach is not to be missed! The trail winds you through the woods along the lake shore and is a safe and convenient way to get to the beach without a car.

Our only complaint is that the bath house by the beach was a bit underkept and overrun with garbage and often without any bath tissue.

We certainly recommend this park and can't wait to come back for another visit.

By anncat70 |

The beach is clean & not very crowded. The bathrooms/showers r clean. It's nice there are some shaded spots to sit on the beach.

By Brenda N Jeff B |

Great place to enjoy the lake. Beautiful view, everything you need just pack your clothes and food. Close to all the Geneva on the lake attractions. Will be back!

By snorkeler-6 |

This was a camping weekend for my husband and I. We absolutely loved it. This was the nicest campground I have been too. I only suggested that they have an outdoor sink area for doing dishes, perhaps by the bathhouse. Loved the bike trail to the beach and marina. Marina is very nice. Loved the dog beach where we could let our dog off leash to play with other dogs. Hiking trails were a little overgrown, so we turned around since I had forgotten to apply my dog's monthly frontline before we came. Had a nice dinner in the lodge and found out they accept pets everywhere there except dining areas. What a great find!

By 28paulaw |

Very clean and easy to get to. I really didn't find anything I didn't like. Very family friendly nice picnic area and place to put ur blankets.

By Alice M |

While we were the only tent site there I was glad we had the small section of the field reserved for tent space to our selves. It was near the main park road and the camp road so we had headlights going through our tent as RV's and vehicles entered and exited the camp ground.
That being said it was a nice enough spot - just a bit of a walk to the bathroom and to out in the open for me.

By jackie W |

Park has bike and walking trauls. Boat ramps are very accessible. Great wake to view Lake Erie. They have camping areas and many hotels near by.

By Kara Z |

My husband and I really enjoyed this beach. It was clean and easy to get to. The shower and bathroom facilities were nice, and there was plenty of parking. My husband mentioned though that it would be nice if they smoothed it out a little. There was a place to play volleyball. There was plenty of shade but it sat rather far away from the water but there was shade nonetheless.

By Caroline S |

We had a great room with plenty for the kids to do, even in winter. The pool was relaxing for me and my husband but splashing fun for the kids along with the game room.

By 1Opinion67 |

We had a nice time. Met some great people who took pics of us by the water. But, the beach was SUPER rocky! But, we DID make the best of it! We collected rocks for my rock painting class...lol!

By Sharon M |

Many hiking trails...good place to bring a picnic lunch...wonderful place to connect with nature. Bring your sunscreen, your water and snacks or lunch, your walking shoes, bug spray, and your chairs.

By Travelbug |

Camp sites are roomy and clean. Great beach area. Nice camp store with friendly staff. Site was level, did hold some water when rains.

By edully |

This review is of the Campbell Beach House because they make it so you can review them nowhere else. I have been going to geneva for years and know what to expect. It is not the ocean, nor do I expect it to be.

I do expect honesty and an attempt at cleanliness. The house was notin any way close to as advertised. The owner was accommodating until she had our deposit. At which point she repeatedly lied to us. We had to clean the house upon arriving because the floors were so dirty that our kids feet were black within ten minutes.

The washer flooded the basement because of a rigged drain hose but this was our fault even though the washer and dryer were on blocks. So much more to add.

Do not stay here. And there is no beach access. The owner is a liar.

By Peggy H |

We drove to the lake in 5 minutes. It was actually close enough to ride bikes that were supplied by the lodge. The parking lot was large and clean. The restroom/ changing house was clean and close to the lake. The beach was clean and a nice size. Upon entering the lake there are smooth rocks, but once you get past them, the lake is sandy and clear. Very nice!

By Dave B |

Most of the park is above average for Ohio, the campgrounds still need some work. One area that needs major work is the archery range, one of only a few in the state of Ohio it should be maintained better. For those of you that complain about the beach - get over it after a storm on Lake Erie the beach will always be a mess, that being said it will also be trashed after any holidays just because people nowadays are pigs and don't care fines for littering should be in four digits.

By Tammy R |

Our family has spent a lot of time at Geneva State Park. Very relaxing and uplifting place to go. We used to take the kids on Sabbath mornings and eat our breakfast on the big flat rocks...spent a lot of time sitting out on the pier, watching the boats.

By Keep Life Simple Allan |

These are updated photos of the new State park motor home camping across the street from the older lot. This is where the cabins used to be.It is really nice with fantastic views of Lake Erie. 5 stars for the view and beautiful grounds.

I camped at the state park campground 10 years ago and it was perfect. On July 21, 2018 we were supposed to stay Saturday and Sunday night. We left early Sunday morning because there was a huge group of Amish who played loud music, yelled, screamed and partied until 5am Sunday morning. They had about 10 children sleeping in the 4 campers. Maybe this is their custom but I lost respect for them now.

There was another group of belligerent drunks who came off the strip at 2:45 and started fighting (verbally) with each other. I called the ODNR at 3:30 and the woman on the other end had no idea where the state park campground was. About 30 minutes later a patrol vehicle drove through. The Amish turned their music off and the drunk belligerent group stopped arguing. The state patrol guy never got out of his car.

The noise and fighting continued another hour until another camper came out to try and stop the arguing among the drunk men across from us. The drunk men threatened him so I called the Geneva police who put me through to the state patrol. Two state patrol units came out and calmed the drunk men down. The Amish turned their music off again when the patrols got their. It was 5am before we got to sleep and had to leave in the morning because I felt terrible from lack of sleep.

The Amish areas were trashed with red solo cups and other paper and plastic items. We went to the campground host who told us night security was cancelled after they started allowing drinking at the state parks. I am totally disgusted with Ohio. When I camp in Michigan the campgrounds are pristine and quiet at night when we sleep. There is also no drinking.

I am also disappointed in the Amish group who came. I didn't realize they were they were pigs and disrespectful. This campground along with others in Ohio will only attract more trailer park type campers and state leaders are going to ruin our campgrounds if this continues. Have pride in the things Ohio offers and dont be idiots!

My husband and I visited a small section of this park during a weekend get away to Geneva on the Lake. My husband wanted to fish, so we went to the Marina parking lot. It was a quick walk to the rock wall, where he could stand with a few poles while I spread a blanket in the grass to read a book. It is a clean park with beautiful scenery. I was really eager to see the beach but our quick getaway didn't warrant enough time. We will definitely return when in the area again!

By Bonnie |

Have been going for YEARS - you would think that they can get their act together on the drainage problem! The play ground is a JOKE!!!

By mgw10 |

Lovely walking path, hiking trails, a marina and a nice litte lifegaurded beach. Seem to be a well kept secret because nothing was crowded.

By Dld0209 |

Extremely nice park on the water. Shelter house had garage doors to protect from the wind. Steps to the beach had been damaged by high rough waters. Part of the sidewalk along the park had the supporting dirt washed away. The lake has been high and the water very rough. Still a very enjoyable park.

By jkzoo |

we just stopped for the beach - which was clean and beautiful and had space to spread out and avoid being right on top of others (Friday afternoon). Sand is nice - although lots of pebbles in the water. restrooms were clean.

By Tonya V |

This is a nice little beach area. Lots of parking available and picnic tables. A paved trail (I did take the trail so I’m not sure where it goes). It was evening when I was there so it was not to busy.

Very Nice Park and camping on Lake Erie .
Great lake Erie is massive! Pretty clean overall . beach area needs litter picked up . I picked some litter today on my visit .
I recommend recycle bins installed at the state park and campground areas .

Very family oriented with things for kids to do as well

By cenzt |

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 8 am and made our way towards the entrance of the trail. We opted to hike the Geneva Orange Trail, which was a roughly 4.1 mile out and back trail around the park. The trail was relatively easy and consisted of walking on a flat, even surface for a majority of the walk. The trail took us through the forest and we were able to enjoy some unobstructed views of Lake Erie as we walked by. There were several informational plaques located alongside the trail that detailed the history of the area. On our way back, we opted to take a shortcut through the marina.

Tip: I recommend spending 2 hours here if you truly want to see everything.

By Tanya T |

It has a nice beach, it was showers, toilets, soap, washer and dryers at the camping ground. I enjoyed our night of tent camping and would recommend it to others.

By JosephatFremont |

Only an average Ohio State Park. The Lodge is new but appears to be contracted as a private facility. Very pretty and nice lakefront location. The State Park employee staff is really missed.

Campgrounds very week and have little roadside appeal.

Bike trail very poorly marked and only 1/4 mike of beautiful lake side location.

Beach is not easily located and relatively small for the size of the oark-- though it was well maintained. Bath houses a bit out of date.

By annodboo |

Didn't visit this visit but nice lake front beach in Summer... family friendly ... life guards in season

By M4477FTrichardh |

This is a great place to just relax, enjoy and unwind. The kids would love it - good place to Kayak. Great location as a jumpoff point for so many activities - both land and water. The lodge is an excellent place for breakfast. Awesome sunset views for couples and everyone.

By nitesky014 |

I did like the beach - not huge and not too crowded for midweek. HIGHLY recommend water shoes as many rocks while getting in the water. Lots of rocks on the beach too. But that is just how it is with the current and this part of the Lake.

What I did not care for was the lake of bathroom toilet tissue (out by 3pm) and the completely overflowing trash container. Not a small trash can, a dumpster. Not sure why these items were not address.

By Robert M |

We came here looking for a safe and quiet campground, and we got a sunset swim in Lake Erie as a bonus, all for $28.

We had no trouble backing into the level "pad". We took advantage of the 30amp AC. Water available at the office. Bathrooms and showers available. Dumping station on the way out. Even a fish-cleaning shack!

The dumping station has non-potable water for cleaning, but bring your own hose if you expect to rinse your equipment.

Our neighbors were friendly, helpful and quiet. I suppose it might be different before Labor Day.

Geneva on the Lake is like a trip back to the 50's and 60's. Old time arcades abound, including an old time miniature gold course. The main street is dotted with little restaurants and stands with amazing treats to delight the young and old.

My family stayed at the campgrounds for the weekend and loved the area. Beautiful scenery, trails, and bike path. The GOTL town is fun to stop into for a meal and come back to a peaceful and serene campsite! We would love to come back :)

By Diana M |

Nothing to not like, just didn't get my laps in because 8 little kiddies wanted to jump and play in the pool at 8AM making adult lap swimming challenging. Other than that it was awesome.

By Whitney11ff |

We went to the Geneva State Park to go to Lake Geneva's beach. I was relieved to see that it looked like your typical lake beach. Lots of sand, seagulls, and great waves. One girl in our bachelorette party commented that she liked these waves even better than the ones she experienced in Florida! We felt comfortable going far our and we had two lifeguards as well! After you got past a small rocky part in the shallow water, the lake swim was amazing!

The beach has some trash and a lot of debris (rocks, branches), but wasn't too crowded. It was a fun day at the lake and we definitely recommend stopping by for anyone in the area!

By Justin S |

This is such a nice park to visit. The beach on lake Erie is so nice. The campground is very nicely maintained with large spaces for even the biggest campers. A great place to visit.

Clean, staff very helpful and accomodating (our original site was wet, so we were able to relocate without any difficulty.) Great place to walk our puppies, take sunset pictures, visit the marina. VERY QUIET at night.

By wtchywmn9 |

Spent the day meandering the trails and relaxing.

The Lake is high this year, so the beach has shrunk, but still a nice place.

By ktelego |

I have visiting the Geneva State Park public beach for many years. It is a gem. They are constantly making improvements, but still keep it quaint. Every time I have been there, it is clean and well kept. People must remember that our Great Lakes beaches are rocky. This is a fun place to look for beach glass.

By Elephantastic |

We stopped only briefly on a long road trip, but the view and experience was incredible. The view, the fresh air, the clouds, the flowers and growth by the lakeshore were all gorgeous. Now we can say we’ve seen one of the Great Lakes!

By delightedcust0mer |

This is a well maintained and clean public state park. Visitors will enjoy the panoramic scene of the lake, the nature trails, the beach, marina, and the biking trails.

By Dave S. |

Geneva State Park campground is really nice. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. .most sites offered at least some shade and were laid out quite well. We did notice pad length may be a bit restrictive for larger trailers, but our 25 ft. Trailer fit well on our site. We will bring bikes for future visits as the trail system to the beach and marina looked really nice.

By beachmom250 |

We camped not at the state park but another campground nearby and visited the state park for a day. The beach was nice, but just as the other Lake Erie beaches I've been to garbage is all over the beach. I wish people would clean up after themselves... They had adequate parking and a restroom/changing facility. Anyways driving through the state park everything was clearly marked as to where to go. We took a drive through the campground, and next time we will definitely book a site there. You can hop on the bike trail right there at the campground and it says it goes to the beach and the village. And we would love to see their trails. We will definitely be back for a visit!

By pat1513 |

The park is nice. The beach is large. It's very hard to get out of the water, a steep incline...all in all it's good.

By juliewest2010 |

Visited in early May 2016- drove through the campsite and checked out the beach. The campsite was a typical state park campsite with both electric and rustic sites. When we visited, many of the sites were very wet if not under water, but it was early in the season. Bathrooms were very clean. Has a laundry and fish cleaning station available in the campsite. Checked out the cabins. They are lakefront- however there is a large fence in front of the cabins prohibiting you from going from your front door to the lake, and there is no beach directly in front, it's all large boulders. Cabins were very clean, but smallish and close together. State park does have a couple nice sand beaches; however when we went the public bathrooms still weren't open and the beach had a lot of trash strewn about. The lake bottom is all rocks, so bring water shoes if you plan on swimming.

By Michael G |

Located next to the lodge at Geneva on the Lake and connected by a bike path proved to be a very nice place to visit. The park has a nice marina, campgrounds, and a beach area. The beach seemed to be filled with small stones and debris but otherwise a nice place to swim on hot summer days. We enjoyed traveling the bike path and for those who like hiking through the woods many hiking trails entwine through the park.

By VJustice |

Very nice beach on the lake, clean and water seemed clean also. We spent a couple hours here and the kids had a great time. Park was also very clean and nice.

By marcinda f |

We stayed two nights in May 2017. The park was very nice.Staff was nice, restrooms and showers clean. You are 5 minutes from The Geneva on the Lake strip. The beach is also very very close. We wished they would have more than 4 full hook up spots though. We would camp there again.Lots of tree's and shade. Happy Camping!!

My first visit to Geneva State Park was on a cold and damp day BUT I loved the peace and serenity of my walk through the woods on the paved path between the Lodge and the State Park. I must make time to come back and enjoy this area in better weather. I love the cabins and the location of the cabins to the lake.

By Jack M |

Super camping, hiking and Lodge

Recommend overnight stays. Visit Geneva on the Lake strip.
Visit local wineries, sights, and shops.

Very nice for families or couples.

By Raz Ishman |

It was our first time here, and we like the place, the view is amazing, this beach is clean and big, i like the fact that there is a sign next to the parking lot "beach umbrella for rent" just because when you can't take the sun anymore just rent an umbrella, it is $5 per hour and $10 all day

By millburymom |

We have Maumee Bay State Park near where we live. It is a beautiful state park but the lodge is dated and in dire need of a refresh. We were amazed to see how pristine and updated Geneva State Park Lodge is. It is more compact but just beautiful. The grounds are immaculately manicured. The lakefront cabins are gorgeous. The "orange" bike trail took us along the cliff overlooking the lake, across a wooden bridge, alongside the very nice marina and into the woods, one of our most enjoyable and scenic bike rides ever. We chose to stay at a local B&B on the strip on account of the great reviews and being $100 less than a king room at the state park lodge, but I could see now spending an evening at the lodge for a romantic or family getaway.

By Jill H |

My husband and I were exploring the area of GOTL and decided to take a drive thru the park. Nice little beach area, cabins available for rent and a nice campground. Seemed really clean and well maintained. They were constructing a brand new RV park when we were there.

By John C |

Very nice park along lake Erie. Very well designed , good directional signs. Go on d area to bike and walk. The beach needs to be cleaned up.

By lmk358 |

The FAMILY room with the bunk beds and a lake view was an excellent choice. We all enjoyed the pool and had a nice buffet breakfast at Horizons the following morning.

By lscCanfield_Ohio |

We only visited the beach at this park (not the marina) but as beaches on lakes go this one is good. The beach is
fairly wide and the entrance into the lake is gentle and not too stony. However the cleanliness of the beach leaves a bit to be desired. There are cigarette butts, a moderate amount of debris and some trash. Some of this can be attributed to people who are too lazy to pick up after themselves, but being a state park one would think the state could do a better job of maintenance. Still, this is a very family friendly beach with clean, convenient rest rooms.

By 1obienus |

We did love it despite the rocks lol. Very clean and a family place to visit. Nice for a picnic and relaxing

This is a very nice park. It was the off season and we just took a walk along the beach. There was no one there and it was nice to listen to the waves crashing along the beach. Restrooms were clean. There is a wetland area as well, I bet would be a nice place to watch wildlife in the spring and summer. I do want to go back in the spring.

By Keep Life Simple Allan |

Geneva state park is a free state park with one of the best beaches on Lake Erie. I highly recommend a visit. It is well worth the adventure. It's so nice that even non beach goers can walk forever on the many trails and enjoy wetlands,Forrest, marinas and numerous sites on well paved trails. It deserves 10 stars.

By Magan L |

Not impressed. There are some lovely campsites with beautiful trees and lots of shade. After we picked one, got our campsite pass, and set up, we discovered it had no power. ??? Ran power cord across road to the sites that did have power. (Office closes at 4:30 on Monday and Tuesday. Check-in is at 3:00. Be aware.)
Next morning, talked to campground office. Park Office allowed us to leave our power cord that way. (Thank you.)
Laundry room. Oops! Only one dryer works (there was a sign), only one washer accepts coins (no sign). Sigh. Guess I will drive to Geneva.
Golf course close by. Cute summer town strip (Geneva-On-The-Lake) about 3 driving miles away. Nice to walk up and down that street in the a.m. and read signs. Parks's hiking trails seem to be more around the lodge area. No trailheads in campground.

By Sadfrantz |

We Love the lodge, it is a perfect setting on Lake Erie. There is a marina and beach nearby. There are plenty of things to do in the area.

By Lisa M |

Beautiful campground and very nice level sites on pavement if full hookup. It's great to see that finally was added! I gave it a 4 for two reasons. The site's can only accommodate 40', unless you don't unhook you can see from the photos that you fit. Class A with a toad might have to park it a half mile away. Because my husband is disabled, we chose to purchase another site for our truck. The beach is terrific, Ohio did a great job at this park. Btw, no gate code I'f coming in after hours.

By Kelly M |

Great state park. I suggest sites 42 and 38. They are full hook ups and Very private. The bathrooms could use some updating but always cleaned by the staff. Lots to do near by. If you are in the area - it’s worth a stay

By bettyr655 |

this lovely state park is right around the corner from the Lake House B & B in Geneva-on-the-Lake. (my most favorite place!) the beach area is large enough to accommodate bigger crowds without feeling "crowded". there is also a nice large paved parking lot.
there are some picnic tables right on the lake, and most important, a nice bathroom!
it's location close to the marina is nice. you can watch the fishing/sail boats come and go.
they also have some lovely cabins right on the lake.

By Bill |

"Cedar Cabins" at the park are great. So naturally as I was told from multiple sources the park is planning to tear them down. View of Lake Erie from either deck or screened in porch. Small ad hoc beach within walking distance short drive to regular beach. Close to Geneva on the Lake.

By sue |

If you want sandy beach then go here! Nice and clean too! It has places to picnic, restrooms, lots of parking space, plenty of beach area, and nice swimming area.

By Scenic301591 |

This beach is nice but very little maintenance. It would be so much nicer if it was raked. This would help tourism

By Peggypie |

I think the trick to getting the best experience from this park is to go the end of August during the week. All of the children are back in school and the beaches and board walk are sparsely filled with people. It is still warm enough to swim or sun bathe. My husband and I so enjoyed the cleanliness and lack of crowds. Everyone you pass gives a smile and a friendly greeting. Highly recommend.

By DCLMom |

A quick stop on our way to drop our daughter off at college, we wanted to get out of the car for a few minutes and stretch our legs. We followed the signs to the Breakwater Beach area and found a beautiful beach at the end of the parking lot. It was early on Saturday morning and at the end of the season, so the beach was pretty empty. It's a rocky beach, but nice to walk on. The bathhouse/restrooms were really clean. We were glad that we stopped by.

By cmlantz |

We just recently camped at Geneva State Park and have to say it is one of the best state parks we have stayed. The sites are very large and have nice asphalt pads for the camper. We stayed in the pet loop and everyone was courteous and picked up after their pets. They have the best walking/biking trails. You can ride bikes to Breakwater Beach and the Marina. The bathhouse was always clean and the water was hot and plentiful. The beach was not crowded as it was September, but the weather was in the 80s and lots of folks were sunbathing. There is a camp store on site if you forget common things. The Rangers were very helpful and rode through the campground a few times a day. There are some very nice cabins that sit right on Lake Erie. We love this place and will be returning soon. GREAT State Park in Ohio!

By amt699 |

The beach had lifeguards on duty. We were able to find both sunny and shady spots to sit. It was within 5 minutes of the lodge, with convenient parking. We visited on a weekday and it was not at all overpopulated.

By Roger L |

Geneva on the Lake was a good relax vacation with our grown children. During that time, we visited Geneva State Park for a walk on the beach and skipping stones. It was a relief from the heat. We walked one trail which was good, but we did not see other areas of interest to us. The park was better than the surrounding area which did not seem to have places to eat or other entertainment which was of interest. Part of the issue was my wife’s gluten intolerance.

By Karen Y |

We went on a Friday afternoon thinking it wouldn’t be busy, it was probably average capacity we felt comfortable & not crowded. The beach is easy access from the parking lot but wear you water shoes! Lots of small stones along the shoreline. Probably could use a good cleanup but we found a clean area, nice for a couple hours.

By Kathy H |

There was a beautiful beach and lovely lakeside scenery. We took some great photographs. Beach was clean and the water looked clean too.

By Виктория Эсфирь К |

Hillbilly rackety shakety sh** hole. I will never return. You must either be a drunk or a cheap ass to want to come here.

By Ron P |

A lot of police. Ugly , one way roads to nothing. Not worth the drive through. I was there in the dead of winter. Might be nice in the summer.

By Tracey Y |

We stayed in one of the 12 cabins by the lake. (#3) It was very clean. There were only myself, my wife, and daughter, so there was plenty of space. We didn't stay inside much but would have been comfortable. Beautiful sunsets from the back deck! Direct view of the lake from any cabin. Went fishing off the lighthouse area at the marina. Walked the Flea market and strip on Saturday. My daughter and I should have brought our archery equipment because they have a wonderful little shooting range. We found out there was a movie showing at the small amphitheater across from the camp office on Saturday night. We will go back!

By Jean H |

My parents took me here once. I never forgot it. When I returned to home, I started taking my daughter in the 90's. We make sure we come back every 3-4 years. Still love it !

By CarolynGROttawa |

This was our second trip to the campground. Situated on Lake Erie where you can walk along the lake. Close to a number of wineries to do wine tastings. The showers and washrooms are well maintained.

By RaynaA598 |

Our first time visiting here and loved it. Our Daughter enjoyed playing in the sand and we all enjoyed the water. Next time we go we will try camping over night. This was only a day trip.

By Penelope H |

Loved this beautiful state park with marina, boat launch, camping and hiking, biking trails. We put our kayaks in here and loved it!

By kmarineau |

this is an awesome park, we go there to do bike riding on the trails and it is just such a great place to bike. Also the marina is beautiful and well taken care of.

By ben d |

Spent time with wife's cousin and wife for a wine tour from lodge. Stayed at new cabins which were very clean and comfortable. Had nice fire pit outside on lovely evening to sit and converse. Small tour bus with great driver who took us to 4 wineries and interesting tales. Great view of lake and walking trails. Restaurant has good food, with very good breakfast buffet.

By Marge W |

nice guarded beach with restrooms. beach part ok, but getting into water very rocky. Must wear water shoes. Although most beaches on Erie are the same.

By SailingSharon |

This was our first stay here. We live full time in our motor coach and this was our first trip to Geneva.

The camp sites are large and easy to reserve on line. The only reason I couldn't give them a '5' was that the showers need refreshed.

The area is great with the beach right on site and numerous Vineyards to visit.

We definitely would love to come back.

By dad8181 |

Great hiking & loved the gorgeous views of the lake. We had a blizzard hit so we couldn't stay out very long.

By jamaicalover |

We visited this coming from a winery because I wanted to see a lighthouse . It was awesome ! Very beautiful and serene . I could probably lay out there all day and just listen to the waves . Surrounded by wineries and vineyards it's a must see

By M27Marco |

There was nothing to dislike. Everything was beautiful. The hotel to the view of the lake at sunset and sunrise.

By Melissa F |

The park has many nice hiking and biking trails.. The trails were clean and clear. Beach was a bit rocky but also very clean.

By Natalie K |

Very nice park. Can't wait to explore more on our next visit. Lots of families.Nice clean restrooms.

By Susan N |

We take our 9 ft inflatable with motor, drop in water and have a blast. Very nice accommodation for launching the boat. If you have larger boat to stay on, the have nice accommodations for overnight, or the weekend.

By Candy S |

We stayed one night on our way thru, 7 miles from interstate 90, was convenient. Quiet, clean, and well maintained park. Showers were hot and awesome. Nice shaded walk to the beach. Beautiful views.

By Tracey H |

Found the picturesque marina by just driving around after checking out the town of Geneva-on-the-Lake. Discovered the bike path and took 3/4 of our bikes off our RV and rode into town along the shoreline, back thru the marina and eventually found the beach, where we witnessed a gorgeous sunset. Park was close enough to our RV site for the night, Willow Lake Campground, that we were able to ride our bikes on the road between the entrance to the park and the campground. Wonderful spontaneous adventure!! Wanted to camp in the park but it was full. At least we got to enjoy the bike trails and terrific views along the way.

By jacw2020 |

we regularly take our lab puppy here to swim... one of few places that welcomes dogs on the beach, as long as you go the the west end of it. we always have fun here! only drawback for some people is the steep grade down to the beach, which is hard on bad knees, but worth it!

By Dan W |

Breakwater Beach is a disgrace. Trash, debris, broken old canopies laying in weeds. Crowded on a Monday wroth no life guards or staff to be found. What a shame.

By fstclair |

Stopped at Geneva State Park on a beautiful autumn day while visiting wineries in the area. The shared walking and bike paths provide a wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of the state park, the lakefront and beach. Parking and restrooms are available.

By rsdata |

Lower loop sites are small and about 10 inches lower than the 10 foot wide parking pad andget real wet after heavy rains. The narrow parking pad leaves little room to exit a trailer. If you are iff the pad then your in the mud. While comfort stations are clean they are very dated. Upper loop is overall better if u can get it. Most lower loop sites water logged and small. Overall OK but not up to standard of camps in Ky, Ga, Fl and other southern states.

By Dawn T |

A calm blue Lake Erie with a woodsy backdrop & plenty of walking/hiking/biking trails -- What more could one desire? Even the smooth lake stones are pretty! A lovely, enjoyable park!

By Tammy D |

Nice beach and only a few hours from.pittsburgh it's great for a quick place with family to enjoy during summer weekends

By HerChubbyHubby |

We stayed one night on 7th June 2016 in a 34ft motor home. We didn’t pre-book and the cost was $28 for an electric site.
There were no barrier free sites available so we asked for one as close as possible to the main shower block. We were allocated site #38. However, we soon found that it was close to a water source and we were inundated with mosquitoes; also, there were a few neighbours that looked like they were setting up for a party. We moved to a vacant site (#36) on the northern loop. That was much better and we weren’t much farther away from the shower block.

I did a couple of washes on the evening and found the laundry to be spotlessly clean.
I managed to shower the next morning without waiting and also found the main toilet and shower block to be spotlessly clean. The showers offered good water pressure and constant temperature.

There was no campground Wi-Fi, which I believe is typical of most state parks.

Overall, we found this to be an adequate location for one night and we did enjoy an undisturbed night’s sleep.

By Keep Life Simple Allan |

Geneva state park marina is a nice marina in the state park. There is a walking trail around the park that starts at loop F and loops around the marina to the beaches. A very nice park

By menbx5 |

We enjoyed every aspect of Geneva State Park.
I felt that the beach area was well attended to and kept clear of excessive debris.
We definitely enjoyed our time at Geneva State Park!

By MAM |

Convenient location to stop on our way to the Finger Lakes. Quite expensive for what you got. Bathroom was quite distant from our sites. Beautiful view of the lake after a short walk.

By OhioTraveler107 |

Very nice beach and the only one in the area! State campground is excellent and cabins on the lake are in the perfect setting. Take the paved bike trail (walk or bike) and stroll through the marina (great sunsets there) or walk all the way past the lodge and spend some time on the Geneva-on-the-Lake strip, its just like an old-fashioned ocean-side boardwalk area! Great food everywhere on the strip. Also, take some time to shop in nearby downtown Madison on Rt. 534 and enjoy a lunch at the corner drugstore's lunch counter. The area is great for families OR couples. TONS of wineries within 5-15 minutes of the campground. Avoid Bike Week, unless you are a biker, of course!

By Bobbi58 |

A drive along Lake Erie brings one to a pretty park setting that is located right on the lake. Beautiful scenery, park benches and tables. Nice place to relax, read, sketch and enjoy a picturesque view! Very clean and appears safe.

By Melissa B |

Due to a family crisis, we were unable to go to Ocean City, MD. We decided to spend the day at Geneva State Park, and I'm just as satisfied sitting on the beach here as I would be there. Yes, it's a bit rocky, but I've dealt with disgusting seaweed on the seashore at the ocean. Nothing is perfect, but our day at Lake Erie was close! The beach was crowded on this hot, sunny day, but it wasn't overly so. Unlike the ocean, the lake didn't smell, and I enjoyed it just as much, if not more than, being at the ocean. Yes, there was some trash that should be picked up, but people are pigs, and trash is everywhere. I highly recommend the trip here. It is like a vacation an hour away.

Close to the beach, just a 5- minute drive away, is Geneva-on-the-Lake with food, shops, music, and things to do. I highly recommend Effin Burrito, which is similar to, but ten times tastier than, Chipotle. It was REALLY tasty, and the burritos were HUGE! It's maybe a mile down the strip on the right-hand side. There's also a really good ice cream shop about a block up on the same side of the street that serves soft serve with added flavorings like grape, espresso, and mocha.

The strip was pretty crowded with lots of bikers and families, but it's a good walk and was worth it for the food! We had no trouble finding a parking space even with the crowds. It was pretty hot, though, after being at the beach with a refreshing breeze for three hours. We were all sunburned and happy to sit under the trees by the Ferris wheel and watch people tubing on the lake for a bit until it was time to go home, about an hour away. There are steps to go down to the lake here, but this area has no swimming.

By cschialdone |

We took the nieces and nephews to swim at geneva state park and they had a blast. It was clean, not too crowded. There were trees close by so that my 80 year old mother could sit under. There were pretty big waves so the kids had a great time swimming. Also,a nice bathouse to use to get cleaned off.

By Tammy D |

Love the state park since the strip has limited bathrooms and good scenic views due to erosion its a must stop

By HappyTraveler915 |

Planned to spend a couple of hours here with my family last week but ended up going every single day. It was a beautiful, clean beach that was as relaxing as the ocean (and my kids did not know the difference). Plenty of parking and the changing facilities were decent, and barely anyone there during a summer weekday. I will definitely be back.

By Northern65 |

We walked on the beach. Needed to watch where we stepped as there were so many rocks among the sand. The official swimming area seemed quite small. Enjoyed watching the water and the boats off in the distance.

By Nana187 |

Beautiful time to visit. Not. A lot of crowds. Water and trees beautiful. Great place to walk hike ride bikes and jog

By WestSideGal |

Nice campground with shade. Good space between sites. Walking distance to beach. Sandy Beach looked very nice. Many activities in the area. Beautiful views of the lake.

By Shirley-Bowes |

As a family visiting the area from Florida, we found this beach to be just what we were looking for, to cool off and relax. We spent the afternoon relaxing and watching the kids collect rocks and have fun in the water. We were amazed by the great views. Would love to go back and spend more time in the area.

By William L |

Great beach on the north coast, family friendly, life guard on duty, nice sand, clear water, and no alligators.

By Erieite |

Well manicured and cared for park. We visited to geocache and had a great visit both times. Lots to do in this area.

By Doris B |

Small in some places. But we were there in October, not the time for swimming. Very windy and cold. We wore winter coats.

By Missy S |

We gave enjoyed many visits to the park. Just wish the beach can be maintained better. Some seasons the beach us full of trash, some times it's scattered with dead fish carcasses.

By Carrie C |

We did the stay and play package during Labor Day. Our view from the king jacuzzi suite was breath taking! We could see over the pool and the lake. Our room as clean and cozy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The view from the restaurant was gorgeous too. We were very satisfied and will return next year to do the wine tour.

By Susan L |

Love the campground. We had full hookup. Nice big sites. They need a pool though. You cannot use the lodge pool we offered to pay. Love the bike path. Grass needed mowed this year we even told the check in store. Next year we are moving to Indian creek. This was our second year there.

By froggy2525 |

Great park with spacious sites at the campground. There are camper cabins right on the water. The bike path goes all the way from the campground to the lake and up to the busy strip area with plenty of dining options. Small but nice and clean beach.

By jln04 |

Great place to visit. An old park but very relaxing. Has a small beach you can walk to from campground , that allows pets on the west side of the beach ,which was very nice. Always pick up after your pet. You have to visit the town Geneva-on-the-Lake what fun!

By Otto M |

I visited Geneva Ohio by car, Geneva on the Lake, Erie Lake coast, amazing small towns, just 1 hour by car from Cleveland.

By Steve D |

Limited number of campsites, most electric only. Shower houses were small but clean. Only 0.5 miles from beach with bike path to get there. Beach was Awesome...Clean, waves, and fun rock hunting. Geneva on the Lake is right next door...you'll likely want to drive there of you have kids, but still close.

By Leah C |

Nice beach and a nice state park overall. We didn’t get to use the campground but spending the day at the beach was nice. The shore is a little rocky so prepare for that.

By TrudgerDD |

I camp in a lot of state parks. This one was good (8 out of 10). Spacious sites with a nice mix of sun and shade. Well maintained park. Close to the beach and the Geneva on the Lake boardwalk area (a must do). Great hiking and biking trails throughout the park. Kayak rentals nearby. Overall, a great stay. Staff was friendly. My only complaint was the condition of the bathrooms (6 out of 10). Smelled terrible...looked fairly clean. I would return to this park due to its many attractive features and nearby attractions.

By Bob B |

We had a nice shady electric only campsite. There is a nice amount of space between sites. Restrooms were fairly clean. We did not use the showers . It was about a .75 mile walk from our campsite to the beach. A nice, paved multi use trail goes from across the street of the campground to the lodge and beyond offering nice views of the lake. The breezes in the shade of our campsite were heavenly. Nice sunrises and sunsets on the beach. Plan ahead if you wish to camp on a summer weekend. We will return. Nice staff.

By joebaddour |

It was a different experience. This was the 1st time to a winery area. You will experience being out in the country.

By MAM |

Disappointed that I had to make an advance reservation with a $6.50 extra charge for a 1 night stay. $35.50 was expensive for what we got. We were sleeping in our van so we did not need electric or any hookups. Restrooms are still lacking. Very small, no shelves or anywhere to place anything above sink. Only 1 soap to be used for all sinks. Only 2 showers: again no bench outside shower to place any belongings.

By SteelersFAN72 |

This park was very clean and easily accessible. Full of fun things to do! Beautiful scenery along Lake Erie!

By CookieFrench |

Even though the weather was overcast - the scenery is still beautiful. The paths we walked on were well maintained and it was very relaxing to walk on the beach.

By jnfrjoy |

It was okay, would visit again. Close to Lake Eerie & Geneva on the Lake. Office staff no very helpful. Campsites are kinda close together, but do able. It was an okay trip.

By QuiltinginOH |

The view out our window was beautiful even in the Winter time. The lobby was beautifully decorated with holiday décor.

By Elizabeth K |

Nice beach! We loved the township park as well. Everything was very clean, including the public restrooms.

By LMcNala |

Ok, so my expectations were a littler higher than what I experienced. The beach is a big rocky , but what is bad is the trash. It's those little pieces of trash that bug me! There was lots of wood and weeds floating around, it was like we were in the middle of a shipwreck! It was gross, but lake Erie is beautifully gross. The facilities are decent the shower to rinse sand off needs help, as not all were working. Take an umbrella, read, people watch and dip your toes in. It's just "ok" and we were ok with that during our visit. I would not have gone another day, though. 1 day was enough.

By Mary V |

This was our 2nd time staying in the campgrounds in the state park and plan to return. Site 38 is a large wooded spot with a nice firepit. The paved trails thru the woods is an easy ride. Breakwater Beach allows dogs on the west side and makes for a relaxing day on the shores of Lake Erie. The bath house looks clean but we have an RV so that's not an important factor for us. Just a great getaway.

By Pam L |

We loved that it was close to the Spire Institute (we were there for swim championships), that there was plenty of things to do for young people, that Geneva-on-the-Lake was within walking distance, and that the rooms were so comfortable.

By Matthew B |

The campground is at a great location close to the lake, the village of Geneva on the Lake, and to all sorts of places to explore in the park. Campgrounds were clean and well taken care of. Multi-use trails connect you to the surrounding park and it's amenities.

By Bonnie |

A small group of us reserved sites a few months ago for the 150 Anniversary of Geneva On The Lake. We were called telling us that no hot water for the only shower house a day before leaving. Also 90% of the camp site had mud/water between each and some were closed due to the mud/water. We noted that some sites had hay. Went to office and asked if we could get a discount on the sites and asked if we could get hay. NO discounts and you can drive down the road to purchase hay if you wanted it. This State Park is one of the higher cost per night. The playground if you want to call it that is very, very, very poor too. Advise – go to a Private Camp Grounds out that way to enjoy Geneva. It is worth the extra money!

By TheMurfsinPA |

Not sure if it's the norm for this beach but when we visited at the beginning of July there was so much garbage on the beach including old tampon applicators...really disgusting. This was my first visit to this beach and most likely will be my last. Such a shame!!

By HWiegand |

We go to this beach every time we visit Geneva on the lake. We love that we can take our Fur babies there. Our kids love going here. I wish there were a concession stand or food trucks. The beach is clean but rocky as most Lake Erie beaches.

By mLIZp |

We love to come to Geneva on the lake to this beach, always clean and well maintained. Make the trip yearly, we have been enjoying the area for many years but really like the park beach the best!

By Keep Life Simple Allan |

This reviews for Wheeler beach. It is the smaller unknown beach on the parks west side. The beach is beautiful ❤️ but limited in size. Very few use it as they all use the larger breakwater beach on the east side. There is no bathrooms.tables etc and it's primitive. But great for privacy and I saw a few dogs in the water .

By RiseandWine |

A very nice respite from the honky-tonkiness of GOTL strip. They did a great job of preserving this area. Definitely worth a visit---in GOOD WEATHER!

By itsjustjeff440 |

Beautiful scenic park were you can walk, ride a bike, fish or take a boat out! Head out with your loved one and embrace the beauty of Lake Erie! Enjoy the lapping of the water on the shore as you stroll and find lovely sea glass. A wonderful experience for all ages.

By Ann L |

Ohio has a great state park system and doesn't require a car pass. The campground has paved sites with electric, nice restrooms, a shower house with laundry and a campstore. It was very quiet at night.

By DeAnzaJig |

End of April so no crowds at all. Off season check in was easy. All RV sites were paved and back in. The shower house had three showers, water was hot, very clean, and the room temperature was warm. There are no full hook-ups available until May 1.

We only saw one playground and they didn't have the swings up yet.

It is worth the price.

By gary t |

Benn going to GSP since it's inception. They are constantly improving. Hotel management is quick to
make amends if necessary, and offer free room to make the customer feel welcome....if the situation warrants it.
Love this place.

By katie77iris |

We come here to sit on the beach and listen to the waves and decompress. We often bring a picnic since the restaurant service is usually terrible and the same foods all over on the strip. Geneva State Park and the beach here is the only thing we do anymore as any kind of lodging or restaurant we have tried the past 8 years has usually offered bad service ....There is a lifeguard, a changing and restroom place, and picnic tables. For the beach we bring our own chairs, umbrella, etc.

By Tracy S |

The beach was great! We loved the bike and walking trails, too. It is hard to believe this little hidden gem is in Ohio.

By Beckie S |

Loved the walkway along the lake a lot of tables to picnic at or just rest. Very clean and quiet we sat on a bench and just watched the waves roll in for a very long time.

By Andrea B |

I walked the paved path from the marina towards the lodge and back and was blown away at how beautiful it was! I really didn't expect Lake Erie to be so pretty!

By AKSoloDiver |

We had a horrible experience at this state park in Ohio. Our camping site, and the sites we could see while snooping around, were very small, very close together, very close to "the loop" for traffic and generally not very secluded at all (ours was site #78). There was not very much flat/level/clear ground for tents - we barely got two small tents pitched on the site, and both were pretty much right next to where we parked the car. Was was uncomfortably close to the fire pit. There was just not much room! At $24/night, this should be a much better site.

The next big problem was the lack of any kind of enforcement of the rules. People will dogs barking CONSTANTLY, people singing through all hours of the night (even though quiet hours start at 10PM, that didn't stop anyone), and generally rude & inconsiderate people making all kinds of noise the second the sun came up. Forget about getting much sleep, or very restful sleep. If you want any kind of quiet, peaceful camping trip, you definitely want to find some other place to go.

The bathhouse/restroom was clean, no complaints there. The water outlets (for putting out fires) were also very conveniently located.

By Jason H |

This is not a huge state park compared to others but it is very nice to walk the trails and spend a day at the beach on the shores of Lake Erie. Walk through the marina and head out to the point for spectacular sunsets. Trails also connect the the Lodge with wonderful views and within walking distance of the "Strip" on Geneva on the Lake.

By patarm01 |

We rented an ocean kayak and really enjoyed being out on the lake. Then enjoyed the each and swimming. The next day we took our 23 month granddaughter on the beach to play and it was very clean.

By Linda U |

We had a good walk around the park area and town, along the coastline and in the park area. Off season is surely a quiet experience. I don't know what it is like during summer peak season. Nothing seemed to be open for food or drinks.

By Amberly M |

Rocky beach entrance be sure to take swim shoes. Sand has many rocks and wood. Trash lightly scattered about.

By Amy G |

Lots of bike/jog/walk trails, boat launch, and beach tucked in on lake erie. Beautiful grounds and a great destination place or place to stop by.

By Beth B |

Beautiful views of Lake Erie. Beach was very rocky but clean. Nice nature trail nearby to walk or ride bikes on.

By Steve P |

Very clean facility. Wine tours nearby. Service very good. Scenic views of the lake. Relaxing accommodations. Would recommend.

By TimmyB52 |

Nicely maintained state park, with free access to parking, beach area, and boat launch ramps. Marina and store on-site too.

By 143mamas |

Very nice relaxing atmosphere with small beach area. Clean, free parking area connects to trail running along the lake to the marina, lodge & cottages. We enjoyed cruising thru the area in our car before sunset.

By Theresa D |

This park has nice cabins you can rent that's not too far from beach. There's a nice bike trail also. I can't wait to visit again this summer

By Jane K |

Campgrounds was clean and quiet in September. Beach close by and adventure zone. Eateries and beautiful places along the shore. Staff was friendly. Bathroom cleanliness not the best

By Cheri C |

The park and campground are clean and attractive. Nice paved Bike trail to Geneva on the Lake, a small, charming resort area on Lake Erie. They call it the strip, stores parks, food. Beack is a close walk or bike ride from the campground, has facilities at the beach. The Geneva area has several Vineyards for wine enthusiasts. Also nearby is the covered bridge tour and barn quilt tour. We found the rides very pretty

It was still very fun. The beach was full of people and the food nearby was good and always available. There was no place to grill or at least we didn’t see one. Other than that it was a good time

Great place to hike. Take a nice quite walk along the beach. Easy walk for all age groups. Lots of parking. Good place for a picnic.
