Everyone was very knowledge of the history and the legacy of the president. a very nice place to visit

We visited College station campus and noticed through trip advisor that George Bush museums is no One rank to see.
So visited and amazed to see it. It is so nice as if one can see the whole life of Mr Bush.

This museum was a great place to spend an hour or two. It’s so neat to read about the happenings from George Bush’s life. The years pass quickly and it’s easy to forgot what all has happened in our country. The grounds where the graves are are beautiful!

After watching the funerals on TV you get a sense of the man. After visiting this Library and Museum, the life and character of this man were impeccable. You can spend a short time or most of the day depending on how detailed you want to be. Easy walking. There are quotes that you won’t forget. I’m normally not a fan of going to these places but this was informative and worthwhile.

Nice museum. Worth a visit. Free parking. Be sure to ask for the audio remote.
Allow at least 2 hours minimum.
To view gravesite, walk to the left of the pond. The rose garden is to the right. Benches are strategically placed for those who may need a break.

Quite interesting with a lot to look at and learn. The memorabilia and gifts from other countries were interesting, as was the Nelson Mandela exhibit. Some interactive areas. Good value at $7 for senior admission if you are looking to kill some time in College Station.

I've been to three presidential libraries so far and this has been my favorite. The exhibits are beautifully curated and really inspiring. The grounds themselves are incredibly impressive. It was really humbling to see the simplistic burial sites of such an incredible couple as George and Barbara Bush. There's an amazing sculpture outside and a nice pond with walking path. Also, the train exhibit was very cool. Definitely worth a stop!

This is easily one of the top presidential museums. War hero, family man, and outstanding public servant, George Bush lead a life of greatness. A well-designed, user friendly facility that is well worth a visit. Happy trails.

This was a very good museum. I learned a lot about the Bushes' personal and public life. I only had two hours but could have spent more time.

The museum does a great job of making history come alive while instilling a call to service , leadership and high character. In this day in time we’re looking for people who can build trusting relationships with all kinds of people to work on solutions for the common good. President Bush did that well and there is much to learn about the world and people in this museum.

There is a free parking lot (Lot 41) right in front of the museum. To look at everything thoroughly, you will need at least 5 hours, it took me 7 hours. Most took 3 hours. President Bush and Mrs. Bush's gravesite is behind the museum about 10 - 15 minutes' walk one way. The gate only opens during museum hours. To avoid scorching heat, better do it within first hour or last hour of museum opening hours.
Every presidential library and museum is unique and I recommend visiting them all.
The museum is expanding by building a structure next door to house a live size helicopter and locomotive that carried President Bush's remain in 2018 to College Station, which is set to open in 2024 or 2025.
In addition to telling a story about President Bush's life, the museum does a good job in recounting important events during his presidency such as the end of cold war, fall of Berlin Wall where East and West Germany reunited PEACEFULLY, and the Persian Gulf War.
President and Mrs. Bush's relationship with President Clinton and Mrs. Clinton serves a great example on how once political former opponents can still form genuine and strong and enduring friendship despite different viewpoints. After both presidents left the Office, they did some joint work together to help others.
While President Bush only served one term, but he's done a lot for the USA and the decisions he made has an everlasting impact. A good illustration on duration/length isn't as critical as the quality of decisions made.

I enjoy visiting Presidential Museums throughout the country and this is my 3rd one.
I'm familiar with Dubya's history and remember his presidency pretty well. The museum provided some new details about his life I wasn't aware of. There's plenty to see and read throughout the museum and the presentation and flow is well designed.
My favorite attractions were:
9/11 displays: It was a somber reminder of a rough time for Americans. The production was informative and professionally done.
Oval Room: This exact replica was super cool to check out and makes one feel like they're in the White House. There's a photographer there to take your pic at the President's desk for you to purchase later if you like. Yep, I did it lol
Presidential Decision Making Room: This interactive group attraction was a blast. With touch screens, the group is presented with a real event which required a Presidential decision. Your answers were matched with President Bush's decision. Our case study was the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Definitely give it a run.
The gift shop had plenty of great Dubya souvenirs and clothing.
I have to give a major shout out to the staff. They were super friendly at every point of contact. They would engage with the crowd and all were very knowledgeable about the displays. Super Kudos!
Definitely swing by if you're in the SMU area. =)

This is a gem. What sets this presidential library apart is how easy and comfortable it is. They have conveniently put comfortable chairs and couches all around so we could sit and relax as we were reading information about George and Barbara. The employees were SO kind and helpful too. No matter what your political leaning is, you will leave with a greater appreciation of how the family served our country and really loved each other.

George Bush Presidential Library is such a great place to visit in College Station. The building and exhibits are beautiful and very well organized. There are a lot of information about his presidency and family. We were pleasantly surprised that there were so many exhibits. It was cold but we went to the rose garden behind the library to pay respect to Bush family. The whole experience was very nice and peaceful. I will highly recommend to visit George Bush Presidential Library and museum.

Wonderful, well-laid out library showing President Bush's life from childhood, his WW2 service, business start, and long history of public service. You may not agree with his politics, but you have to agree that he had a long history of devoted public service. He was concerned about all Americans even after leaving the Presidency. Also really enjoyed seeing the train engine that transported his body to College Station. When visiting there was also an exhibit on American music through the years with great displays.

I found the Bush Library very moving and three hours just flew by too fast. It was a family outing for us and as a Bush family fan I couldn't get enough, would do it again. The price of entrance was very reasonable and they also gave Veterans discounts.

The staff was very helpful and the museum was great. You can spend and hour or much more if you spend time at each of the dozens of exibits. It's worth the walk to see the gravesites.

While on vacation and driving from Houston to Waco, we stopped at the Bush Museum for something to do in the afternoon. It was a very interesting time! The museum is set up like walking through a timeline of George H W Bush's life. From his beginnings, to WWII, to his career before the Presidency, and finally reaching the Oval Office... It's all covered here in great detail. There's quite a few interesting artifacts, like the Presidential limo and pieces of the Berlin Wall. A few exhibits were closed (due to COVID?) but most were open. I expected the Oval Office replica to be a little bigger, but it was still fun taking our picture behind the desk. If it's not too hot, it's also a nice stroll out back by the lake and through the woods to the family's final resting spot. Worth a visit.

There's always something new to see at the Bush Library. The exhibits are rotated on a regular basis and they are diverse enough to keep one's interest. There are also seasonal celebrations held here, such as a massive Easter egg hunt on the grounds. You can see his Limousine up close as well as many interesting FBI artifacts. You can sit in the Presidential chair in a mock up of the Oval Office. President and Barbara Bush are buried on the site along with their daughter Robin and their Springer spaniel Millie.

The Library more than me my expectations. The oval office and small theater were very interesting, the 911 display was very moving. Enjoyed the special exhibit of the presidential homes. Entertaining and educational for both generations of family.

Just wonderful. Laid out in a logical format. Gives you a real insight into the man and everything that went into his life before he became President. He and Barbara are buried on the grounds.

Excellent presidential museum of George and Barbara's well lived lives. staff and facilty were world class! don't miss it. You get a sense of what they were like as people and what their values were. Talk about lives well lived! the surrounding park with lake and grave site were beautiful and serene. Mandela exhibit was there also. Very impressive as well. I have been to many presidential libraries, this is one of the best I have been to.

We visited the library in October and I was so impressed. Lots of great information about the bush family that most people don’t know. The articles within the library are really neat. The presidential limo is there!!! Everyone should take a visit if you are in the area. You won’t regret it. Price is very reasonable!

This museum was so neat. I feel like I learned a lot about GHW Bush's personal and family life. They made it feel like he was just a normal guy albeit from a wealthy family. He did have to basically start from scratch. Lots of information and exhibits. I really enjoyed it.

As a coach, I brought my entire team on an educational trip while we were in College Station. This can be a fun place to visit from Ages 5 - 100.

Our visit was fantastic and we spent 2 hours going through the exhibits. The family history and accompanying artifacts were interesting and a great segue into President Bush's twelve years in office (8 as VP and 4 as President). For those of us who lined up for hours on college campuses to vote the Reagan/Bush ticket in 1980, the museum is a perfect memory. Well done! Highly recommended! Be sure to take the time to walk through the rose garden to the resting places of President and Mrs. Bush - it was nice to see that Robin was with them.

I went to pay my respects to the late president by going through the museum then out ot the graveside. It was a wonderful experience and worth the visit. We went in the morning when there were not a lot of people on President's Day, but when we were getting ready to leave it was starting to get really full. The museum displays a lot of history so adjust your time for your next visit.

Went with 15 people from our Sunday School class. Interesting to see that most of his adult life I lived with him and can remember all of this. The location at College station is a wonderful place so that our future leaders and see the history behind our country. I did not know that part of the location is classrooms and a teaching institute. Would like to have heard more
This is a must see especially for those young enough not to have live through it.

This was a nice museum but not designed as nice as many we have seen. It didn't have seem to have the WOW factor his father's has.

very nice. Museum of the life of George and Barbara Bush. Complete well thought out story from their parents childhood through each of their lives of public service not only in politics but even after retirement and continued public service. Outside were some gorgeous water features and a nice walk in the woods to visit their graves which are on the property.

If you get the opportunity to visit, I highly recommend you take it. I left with a heightened respect for the Bush family and GHWB especially!

We had visited before back in 2017 but wanted to come back and pay our respect. On this visit, we could see the grave markers of Barbara and George in their final resting place.

If you have not been to George’s library, now is a great time. To see all the memorabilia from his life is absolutely amazing. What a great man.

I had visited the Library in 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was traveling to Houston so I stopped by to pay my respects. Although the Library was closed, I made the short walk to gravesite. It is a beautiful resting place for two important figures of our county.

A befitting edifice and memorial for one of the "thousand points of light" in our world! The Library provided a concise history of the elder Bush and his wonderful family. A separate section dedicated to Barbara was very thoughtful.

wear your walking shoes and you will enjoy walking through the library and then go to the back where George and Barbara are buried as both died in 2018.

From the museum that eloquently documented the life and times of George and Barbara Bush to serene graves of both of them and their daughter, this was a first rate and quite moving experience, I recommend it to anyone.

This is a great place to visit. Even if you are not a GHW bush fan, it documents his life of service to our country. Wonderful

Really good presidential library. Loads of artifacts. Several displays that were touchable. Benches scattered throughout for resting spots. Well appointed gift shop.

We did a trip visiting all Texas based presidential libraries. The George H. W. Bush library at A&M is well laid out, extremely interesting and quite enjoyable to visit. The grounds are very nice as well. The old videos and skits running in the “sunroom” were really fun to watch as well.

Terrific experience with our son and wife. He is a PhD candidate at Texas A&M, so very pleasant to visit this landmark of one of our favorite presidents.

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is a great view of American history through the lens of George Bush. His life pre the Presidency was in many ways more interesting than his time as president.

This is an amazing, wonderful presidential library, which I would call a museum. There is SO much to see in there - and so interesting. There is even a mock-up of the front of the White House and the President's office. I highly recommend a visit here -- and was only $7 each, with free parking.

This may be my favorite presidential library to date, is a wonderful representation of the entire legacy of President Bush. I learned so much more than I thought I knew about him and his life. I gained a new found respect for him, his commitment to his family and his love for his country. The museum is full of history presented in such a unique way, simple and humble. The grounds and garden are beautiful. The family burial site is quite touching. This is a must see site.

We’ve now been to all but two of the Presidential Libraries. Loved all of them, but not this one. Nixon’s also wasn’t great. The exhibits were underwhelming. Anyway if you’re going to see all the libraries, then you’ll need to do this one too. But for pure tourist entertainment, not great. It was laid out nicely and chronologically. Worth the visit, of course.

The library itself was nice. Nothing spectacular but then again, not sure what it was missing. Very detailed in recapping his life but some of the exhibits where a little “cheap”. Doesn’t take long to make it through the entire exhibit, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Gift shop was simple and basic. The grounds outside are beautiful and the walk to the gravesite, located behind the library, was simply amazing. Gorgeous, well manicured lawns and gardens leading you to the burial site. No regrets, just not sure I’d venture to it again.

I’d recommend this to anyone within a days drive away. Extremely interesting. An outstanding tribute to a great family. A very well organized self tour. Beautiful grounds. Don’t miss it

I visited three presidential libraries during my June visit to Texas: Lyndon B. Johnson, Bush 41 and Bush 43. This one, Bush 41, was my favorite. I love to garden so the gardens and burial site were my favorite. The library shared numerous memories of the 70s, 80s and 90s. This is a must place to visit in Texas.

We learned so much about the family history and the path that led to his presidency. They have a packet for kids to look for certain information throughout the museum and our 8 and 9 year old were engaged the entire time we were there. Very well put together and a must see when in the area.

I never thought I would care to learn about the life of George Bush but I was wrong. The museum is very well made and follows the life of an amazing man. I strongly suggest passing by.

The library tells the story of President Bush from boyhood through WWII, presidency and following. Easy to follow through he story of his life. Beautiful walk to the burial sites.

We agree with one reviewer that whatever political party you support this memorial museum is truly worth a visit. It conveys the life of a man of integrity and intelligence, a man who loved his family and his country. The rooms are well designed - we especially liked the Berlin Wall section and the video of Barbara and George's competitive interaction. A well chosen mix of serious and fun aspects of the Senior Bushes lives.

This visit was a pleasant surprise!
We have visited the Eisenhower, Truman, Nixon, Reagan, and George W Bush Presidential Museums. While this one falls below Reagan and Truman - it is far above the President George W Bush one in Dallas. Not that the President B W Bush was bad - but this one had more detail and was expertly laid out.
As a history and Presidential “geek”, I learned a great deal and appreciated the breadth and depth of other areas of this President’s life. It was educational without being “preachy” or covering up the blemishes of other negative parts of the administration.
Overall - very impressive! As an independent who has voted for democrats and republicans, President George W Bush was a fundamentally good man dedicated to public service after working hard to build his fortune - he didn’t “get it” he “earned it”.
Concur the gift shop is just okay and very pricey. That said the staff/docents were awesome and engaging. Keep doing what you are doing…we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

We enjoyed our visit to the Bush Library and Museum. His desire to serve his country was inspiring. The exhibits were well done and did a food job of telling his story. The contrast between his style and the style of current politicians couldn't be greater. He was humble despite his privileged background and worked hard to find common ground with his opponents. His type is missed.
Well worth a visit.

we got there about 230 pm on a Friday. there was plenty of parking (not many visitors). no long lines, plenty of time to look and listen to all presentations and even shop casually in guest shopping area. read part of Perini Ranch cook/visiting book

My wife and I went to pay our respects to President Bush, his wife Barbara, and their daughter Robin. The good news, is that all that can be done for free. But, treat yourself and visit the museum. What an amazing life president Bush 41 lived.

Very enjoyable day!! Spent about 5 hours viewing exhibits. Political cartoon exhibit going on!Didn't understand a lot of cartoons, but a lot to see! Set up well. Not for children! Burial area secluded! Gardens nice even without full blooming roses.Great tribute!!

For my husband’s birthday. I took him to the George Bush Library in College Station. Completely enjoyed the library. Spent time in the “Oval Office “ and another visitor took my picture, sitting in the president’s chair. What I remember most is that I learned that GHWBush is well-loved. The nicest thing I remember- we went around to the back of the building to visit the gravesites.

Wonderful place to spend a morning. Very nice exhibits which reflect upon the 41st President from the time he was a child up to his death. The President, Barbara and their daughter are buried on the grounds. The Library shows his life and what prepared him for the Presidency. The CIA exhibit was especially fascinating.

Until I visited here. He was so much more complex and stately than I remembered as president. The memorial grounds are a nice addition, but not as moving as others. G HW B - I like you now.

The George H W Bush library is well laid out, shows both his life and his wife's in detail, and the gardens are well kept and colorful. It is not hard to get to this presidental library and there is plenty of free parking. The walk to the graves is short, well maintained and shady (good if you go in the middle of summer). The most fun I had there was following Millie through the library, she was a game for kids where she sits on top of a mailbox and the answer to the question (in the game) is located in the mailbox on a bone.

Tons of interesting information and artifacts about President Bush "41". I particularly enjoyed the displays about his military experience, his political and government positions over the years, and events during his presidency. Even a fun display of 41's more unusual socks!

Went on a home game weekend. Get there early to avoid the tour bus crowds. Also, I learned a few things I did not know about Bush Sr.

This is our third presidential museum and this one is the best yet. The staff were not onlyfriendly but very knowledgeable about the history . In addition to the history of the president and his family there was an excellent exhibit of Leonardo da Vinci mechanical inventions.

I had been wanting to visit for a long time and was able to work it in on the way home from a trip up north. Right now you have to buy your ticket online ahead of time and only so many people are allowed in at once, which I loved as it wasn't too crowded. I only had to wait twice to see a particular exhibit. I knew a lot about Bush but still learned a few things and loved the visuals. Actually seeing an exhibit for each of the hats he wore during his career was awe-inspiring! I walked around the pond and over to pay my respects at the graveside. In all, I was there two hours (and could have spent a lot more time). The emphasis on public service was notable.

I was here years ago but went back with some out of town company. This museum is well done. There were a lot of exhibits about George and Barbara’s accomplishments and their family. They did some updates since the last time I was there and it only added to the experience. Be sure to do the audio tour during your visit since it enhances the experience. Also, make sure to go outside and visit the family gravesite.

We cannot recommend this library enough; it truly is the best of the best. For $9 max (discounts for youth, military, students and seniors - children under 5 free) you get to immerse yourself in a chronological history of the Bush family. We left the library with even more respect and admiration for the individuals who make the decision to represent our country. Included in your entrance is an audio tour, each section has a corresponding number and gives a brief overview. Many of the audio files include actual audio from President Bush and Barbara. Hearing them speak of their love as well as the trials and tribulations they endured was beyond powerful. Each display was well thought out; with quotes, informational plaques, interactive displays and a mixture of audio/video there was something for every one. Hands down one of our favorite spots in the museum was in the children’s library where they have 100s of books for children to sit and read as well as humorous videos of George and Barbara. Barbra’s love of literacy for all and desire to make the White House a “home” for her family shine in this area.
If you are just wanting to pay your respects at their gravesites you do not need to pay to enter the museum.
Some things that make this Library stand out:
They did a wonderful job of bridging the gap between then and now (look for “in context” signs) that help people of any age truly appreciate the sacrifices and gravity of even the smallest gestures.
For children they offer a Millie’s Adventures booklet; where children go around the museum looking for small dog houses filled with answers to questions.
Done in chronological order - the museum helps you see the human aspects of becoming president including the pivot times when hard decisions had to be made to continue or quit.
Assuming you are not attending a during football game there is PLENTY of parking in lot 41. There is designated RV/bus parking so vehicles of all sizes will fit.

We decided to take advantage of stopping by & visiting the Presidential Library of George Bush in College Station, Tx. The garden in the back is beautiful and well maintained. Further back, is their gravesite. It is worth visiting. My husband and I stayed for four hours!!

There was a Leonardo Da Vinci machinery exhibit last time I visited it and it was wonderful. They usually host temporary exhibits frequently which makes it more interesting.

They show a brief movie about the Bush family. It was very good. Very interesting displays. I especially enjoyed the space dedicated to Barbara. I visited her grave as she was a great role model.

Went here on a road trip that included 6 Presidential libraries. This one was well planned and I learned a lot. Thought it was honest for the most part except it glossed over why President Bush lost the second election. The focus was on the family which is appropriate. Visited the gravesite as well which is in a beautiful landscaped area behind the museum. The building itself was lovely with a huge lot by area.

Even though only the grounds were open during Covid (check their website for the hours, at least for the gravesite) I was glad I visited. The monuments/statues were impressive, and the walk around the memorial pond and garden was lovely. The gravesite is still accessible in a quiet, secluded spot, but is only a very short walk away from the pond. If you don't have much time, you could see it all in 15 minutes or take a more leisurely stroll enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
I very much wish I could have gone inside, and certainly you will want more time when that is available.

Do not be mislead! The $10.00 charge only covers an immigration section with some paintings by Bush. There is no sign or other way to tell the customer that the library and museum are closed. When the elderly employees were questioned about a complete scam they shrugged their shoulders. The old man at the temperature screening desk takes himself far too seriously. This was a huge disappointment and a total deception. Don't waste your time or money!

We loved this presidential library. The space was beautiful and inspiring. There was a heavy focus on the theme of family, which we loved. I especially liked the way the space was organized. At first it seemed disorganized. But each time there was an abrupt turn around a corner, or a crooked path, it was a time of great change in the life of President Bush. I think this reflected the way life works. We can’t always predict, or even choose, what will happen to us. So often, this man was called, and he served.

The library was amazing. It showed the former President and First Lady through the years. There were many interactive and audio displays. The burial ground is serene and walkable from the library. We scored an entrance coupon from Groupon as well.

Lovely visit to Museum celebrating a great man. Bush Sr held so many public offices throughout his lifetime including US military piglet during WW2, US representative to the united nations, Senator, Ambassador to China, vice President and President. A life well lead indeed. A great museum with many artifacts, video of some speeches and news reports from his time as president. Audio guides available for free. Lovely garden in the back and a walkway to his burial site along with beloved wife, Barbara, and daughter, Robin. Worth the visit!

The Bush 41 Presidential Library is just beautiful!!! The grounds are amazing. There is serenity and peace here. The quiet walk to the President and Barbara's place of rest was reflective for me. Due to my age, I remember many historical events that preceded President Bush 41's election, his time in office, and the history post his time as President. To judge how much time one should spend here is difficult as it depends on how much you wish to read at the exhibits presented. Two hours gave me an overview but I could have spent a bit more time and would like to visit again in the future. Note: There is not a cafeteria or place to eat on the grounds. However, a short drive places you in an area of many eateries. Also note: If you are going to go to the Presidential Libraries of Bush 41, Bush 43 and LBJ when you are visiting in Texas, you can make a donation to one of the three and that donation will give you admittance to all three libraries. At the Bush 41 library my admittance card also allowed a guest free admittance. For me this Presidential Library visit was well worth the drive to College Station and Texas A and M University.

You will find interesting objects and useful information about the private and public life of George Bush.

I have new found respect for President George Bush after visiting the library. The library is very interesting and educational. The library gives you an insight of the life of President Bush. Over all an awesome place honoring a great man.

This was a very up to date, high tech tech experience. It is on the SMU campus and easy to find. You come away feeling proud of your country regardless of your politics.

This was our 7th Presidential Library and the 2nd on our Presidential Library tour through Texas. We happened to be here the day after President Bush passed away and were concerned the library may not be open. There was a delayed opening to provide time for the staff to erect a memorial. There was no admission charge, free posters of Bush were offered and large guest books for patrons to sign were in place. Understandably there were many visitors as well as news reporters who were present due to the recent passing of “41”. The library was very well done representing all phases of Bush’s life. So many great exhibits representing his youth, military service, career, family life and life after his presidency. Excellent pictures and short movies documenting his life. Worth a trip!

What a good, honorable, and actually-public-service-minded president George H.W. Bush was. It says a lot that he decided to have his library at Texas A&M. Seeing the exhibits and thinking "I lived through that" was new to me. The short movie is well worth watching and will give you context to appreciate the rest of the museum. I could have spent much longer than the 3-to-4 hours we were able to visit. Locomotive 4141 and the Marine One helicopter were cool too.

I’ve lived in Bryan since 2009 and finally went out to the museum. What a great day. I loved sharing it with my beautiful wife, Markey. It is a great tribute to a great couple and their family. I felt honored to visit the gravesite of both our President and Mrs. Bush. Very educational and the entire facility is amazing.

We toured the library on a Sunday, arriving at opening time (noon). We stayed the entire 5 hours and were so disappointed to leave. I could have stayed there for a week!! Don't miss!!

A great tribute to a remarkable man. It’s not just about Bush as President but about his family, growing up, the influences on his life, Barbara and her family all set in context of the time and the events that were occurring. It is very well done and you get a good sense of the man and the times. Lots of facts and details for the serious historians and lots of visuals for the more casual observers. To see everything will take a minimum of two hours and you can easily spend more than a half a day. You don’t need to be a Bush fan to enjoy it. If you appreciate history you will enjoy the experience and likely learn a lot of interesting facts as well

No review can do this justice as this was so awesome! This is a storehouse of information which goes into great detail of the family life of President Bush, as well as his WWII service before even reaching his political portions. The layout has a nice flow, so everything unfolds chronologically. The recreation of the Oval Office was nice, because no other President had so many family pictures present. I really liked the mock-up of Camp David, something which I hadn’t seen in other Presidential Libraries. A nice exhibit detailed the entire history of the Gulf War. There’s so much to see here, and worth the time to explore everything.

We had a great time going through the Bush library and remembering the events of the past. President Bush was one of the finest men to ever lead our great nation. We should all strive to be of his character.

I’ve always admired George H. W. Bush and this is the place that will give you a history lesson of this great patriot. The display make his life come to life. My daughter and I loved it. This is a must see while visiting College Station.

Very well done museum. Layout was nice & very informative. Learned a lot & was very interesting for sure. A "must see" if you visit Bryan-College Station area. We were there 2 adults, 1 A&M student, 1 teenager...all of us enjoyed it & were quite impressed!

Our visit to the Library was wonderful. The exhibits give you an opportunity to see the President on a more personnel level.
Access is easy & the guides are so friendly & delightful.
Enjoyed seeing Marine One as well as the locomotive that brought the President to his final resting place.
The Library underscores the dignity & courage that was an integral part of this gentleman.
While we were there, the Bruce Springsteen Collection of American Music Memorabilia was on exhibit. Very worthwhile also.

This is a wonderful place to visit. It is astounding to recall George H. W. Bush's accomplishments and contributions to our country. Of course, we can't forget Barbara Bush's valuable assistance. They were the epitome of civility and kindness. The museum is filled with remembrances and outstanding information.

What a great man, and President . I very much admired President Bush. I would recommend taking the time to visit.

This place has a lot of history to it. This is a great location on Texas a&m’s campus. I love this place.

I was here for the Singing Cadets' 125th anniversary concert and reunion. We rehearsed in the Annenberg Presidential Auditorium and visited the George and Barbara Bush gravesite. Three hundred of us sang a tribute to the Bushes around the grave site. Grounds were impeccable. The auditorium was very adequate for our rehearsal We could have had our concert there.

We have visited both the library and the gorgeous gardens and pond behind the library. Plan for a long visit if you like to read all the material presented in the library. The gardens are relaxing. On 4th of July they have a beautiful firework display with a small symphony.

Four of us visited on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. In the 3 1/2 hours we walked around the library we encountered a wealth of information. Exhibits were well done. We didn’t finish all of the areas in our time there. The walk to the burial spot was very pleasant.
Information about the life of President George Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush was presented in interesting and different formats.

Was here for App State Texas A&M game and was told this was a neat thing to see in College Station. It did not disappoint at all. The garden and outside area are free, and they are a great spot for people to relax and enjoy scenery. The garden with the lake was a very calm place, good for pictures if you’re into and to have some family time!! If you were a fan of Bush family, are into American History and value the simple things, this is the place to go! The only thing is I wish they had the train that they transferred Papa Bush’s body from Houston to College Station.

Should go at least once. Beautiful gardens. Great photo opportunities for grads. Takes an hour or less to walk.

Were in the area looking at the bluebonnets and Indian paint brush in bloom and made a stop here. Lots of interesting exhibits. I liked the old Studebaker car. Enjoyed the walk down to the grave sites. Very pretty.

George Bush was in politics for most of my adult life, and I had never realized what an impact he has had on my adult experiences. The displays are engaging, interactive, and interesting. It was enlightening to read of the experiences President Bush had that shaped his presidency. Barbara was classy from beginning to end. The grave site is moving.

We fell on this by chance and had a very enjoyable visit. So much to absorb and learn and just wish we had a little longer. Most educational.

Beautifully done building and grounds. So many personal things such as Mrs. Bush's wedding dress, inaugural ball gown and sweet notes written to the love of her life. The staff there are welcoming and knowledgeable. The gravesite is an easy 1 mile round trip walk through lovely landscaped areas including a reflective pool and quaint little bridges. Wheel chairs are provided for those unable to walk. President and Mrs. Bush are buried there along with their 3 year old daughter Robin who died from leukemia in 1953. Free parking and easy access. Senior ticket $7

This museum/library has SO much! We were here for a couple of hours and still did not get to see everything (we had to be somewhere). We would love to come back and actually take the time to see everything. There were a lot of people here, but because of the size of the place it did not feel like it at all.

Unexpected treat being able to sneak over the Library for an hour and half. Loved walking the grounds and visiting inside. Nice gift shop

This is worth making a trip to College Station, Texas. I think this is a fine Presidential library and tribute to President Bush and Barbara. The gift shop is very nice.

This library/museum is very well done, depicting the life of George H. W. Bush from childhood through his adult years and life with wife, Barbara, years at the White House and his years in the service. There is a replica oval office, situation room and dining room which were all very interesting. Well worth the trip to College Station. You will not be disappointed.

Very nice displays - very meaningful- the 5 of us really enjoyed reviewing the history of our time- the gardens are beautiful. We were looking for the Seal bronze by our cousin Buddy Obara- but there were many other bronzes

This is so well done and has so much history. Tastefully displayed and honest about a person that experienced so much in life (Watergate, Olympics hostage, Berlin Wall, Kuwait). It is a beautiful library and the grounds are tasteful. So much to see.

The library contains wonderful family photos and stories for both sides of the family. It has interesting information on the agencies where Bush served and his view of he service at each agency. There is a section on enemies to the USA in the past. It reflect the family’s belief in service to the country. I

This is a must see! The staff were so friendly and the exhibits were excellent and very educational. I highly recommend it.

The Library is a marvelous way to learn about George H.W. Bush's life and the contributions he made to the Presidency as well as to his community. Interactive exhibits trace his early life, service in WWII, time as UN Ambassador as well as head of the CIA. The Oval Office is a special treat because visitors can sit in the official reproduction of the Presidential chair and pretend they are making a call on the telephone. Kids and adults love that!!

Library (museum) is extremely informative and organized. Staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Landscape is beautiful and President and Mrs. Bush’s burial area is a serene and beautiful area that honors them and allows you to pay tribute to honorable leaders. Note library staff furnished a wheelchair to an enable an elderly friend to visit gravesite.

Liked the flow of knowledge and presentation throughout the library and museum. Enjoyed the details of the President's life and career. He was an accomplished and dedicated father and iindividual that impacted greatly on his family and country. A worthwhile treasure in College Station.

We visited the museum and George Bush family cemetery. The grounds were landscaped beautifully and it was a short walk from the parking lot to the cemetery where Former President George Bush, his wife and daughter are buried. We enjoyed the visit with our little kids. The museum was very good and well maintained.

Really comprehensive and very informative museum all about President George H W Bush. Really friendly greeting from one of the museum staff who explained about the layout of the museum, and answered any questions. This isn't a museum where everything is behind a cordon, with 'don't touch' signs everywhere. There is lots to explore, buttons to press, doors to open and a lot to learn, without realising you're doing so! We enjoyed seeing the Presidential limousine, the replica of the Oval Office, where you're welcome to sit at the desk and pretend you're the leader of the free world! The situation room was also really interesting and you get to experience the tension there. There's a video about the life of the 41st President and we found this to be a good scene setter. The only negative were the prices in the souvenir shop. It's got a terrific range of merchandise but many of the prices were way above what seems reasonable. However entry to the museum itself is incredibly good value.

We're so glad we made time to visit this museum. We learned so much about George and Barbara Bush! What a career he had! Our visit increased our admiration and respect for an extremely ethical president and family man.
We like to read and watch a lot in museums, so our 2-hour visit felt short. We could have easily spent 3 or even 4 hours here, if we'd had the time, but we were able to get quite a bit of the details and all the high points.
There is a short, beautiful walk to their gravesites, which is also worth the time.

If you go to Dallas, Texas and want to take in some history no matter what political affiliation you relate to, check out the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. There is something for everyone and you can get a special passport to take to the other presidential libraries around the United States. We were visiting Dallas for a special family celebration over the 4th of July. It was interesting to see all of the history and some special items from the Twin Towers including a steel beam and a wall with all of the names of those who perished. I will never forget.

This museum was fun to visit.. well layout & organized...everyone was super friendly .. worth visiting & reasonably priced

Our ladies group car pooled to the George Bush Library on a weekday, and found the library interesting, informative, and worth the trip. You can walk thru on your own, and also take advantage of a listening tour that will upload to your smart phone. The exhibits put the presidency in perspective and pointed out some of the great things that happened under that administration. The paintings of veterans are on display, and we actually got to meet one of the subjects on the day we went. We ate at the Cafe 43 restaurant for lunch and had good service, with reasonable prices.

Top notch presentation of our 41st president regardless of party. Easy tour, very accessible, worth every minute. Must stop on any Texas vacation.

Excellent.
That's how I would describe the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.
I've been to an endless number of museums. This is honestly one of the better ones. And not just among the ranks of presidential libraries and museums. The curation is excellent. The flow from exhibit to exhibit is also excellent.
If you are a huge political junkie or amateur political historian, it will probably take 3 hours to work through the museum. And even then you probably aren't reading everything.
If you're just visiting and don't have tremendous interest in the subject, I'd say you could visit and see a lot in an hour. But you would be missing a lot of details.
All things considered, the Bush library and museum is without a doubt the best attraction in College Station. Other than football, there's not much to see and do here. The Bush museum rivals football.
If I had a complaint, the gift shop is a little overpriced and limited. The postcards can't even be sent because the coating on the paper prevents an ink pen from writing an address or note on the paper. Seriously.

It’s an amazing place. I have been to 5 presidential libraries and this one is the best. What an amazing man, honest to the bone. His career was fantastic and truly a man that served his country and the American people.

Enjoyed viewing all the exhibits and then walking the grounds. Everything was very well done. Great man and family.

How beautiful! This was better than I expected. Wheelchair accessible. Friendly staff and great little shop. This is a special place and the burial place of Our President Bush and First Lady.

Nice time and makes you realize the stress these presidents go threw during their time in office....

Was in town for a conference and we were able to visit in the evening, I enjoyed spending a couple of hours revisiting the history, and learning more!

More of a President Bush Museum for the average visitor. Enjoyed the timeline of his life / career, especially the Navy years and Texas oil business success. Spent 3 hours on campus.

Very friendly! I would tell you that all bags and person are checked before entering. Check web page before going. Library very interesting! Tells story of both Barbara and George! Wonderful letter that he wrote to people. Even things for little ones to follow( stuff dog). Graveside:gravesite is to the left as you come down the steps. Head to the gated area and walk through gates. Very beautiful!

The museum and library is at the edge of the Texas A&M campus. I visited on a Sunday afternoon in late April. The was no crowd and I walked right in. The price was reasonable, $9 for adults. There are student, Senior, and military discounts. The audio guides are free, and provide useful information. Make sure to take the time to walk the gardens around the pond, and visit the family cemetery.

Wow, what a treat and learning adventure. We learned so much along the way. The people were so helpful inside. Dont forget to see the graves of barbara, george and there daughter. It is truelly moving and extremely well done. Take the time and spend a couple hours.

You don’t have to be a Republican to visit this beautiful Presidential Library. They have replicas of the Oval Office where you can sit and take pictures with the whole family at the Presidential Table, the press Briefing Room at the White House, even the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. Take pictures beside the presidential limousine and sign the visitors book to honor the President and the First Lady. The best part is an opportunity to pay your respects to the President and the First Lady at their gravesite. It’s a relatively inexpensive and fun way to spend a whole day with your family or friends from out of town. Parking is close and not a problem.

We enjoyed a couple of hours here while we were in College Station, and we really enjoyed it. It’s very nicely done.

A magnificent treatment of a key era in our modern history and the story of one of the great men of our century. Well curated exhibits trace the history of our country from the early 1900s highlighting of course the life and accomplishments ofPresident HW Bush. Don’t miss the emotional walk to the gravesite. Do not miss this museum- it doesn’t matter what party you support

Allow 2 days for all of the displays. Be ready to learn a lot of things you didn't know about President Bush.

Nice way to spend a few hours remembering the president ans that time period. The museum is not huge but a house hour to 2 well spent. The museum is in the very back of the college campus but it is a growing campus. So only remote for now.

Excellent parking facilities right in front of the impressive building. Much bigger than you might think withthe new hall displaying the train & Marine 1, plus research facilities. Start with the film showing a quick history of his life - he certainly packed in many roles. Excellent displays of his time in the oil business, the military & other roles held before his Presidential ambitions. The Bush family come across as mainly just the - a Family & brings a more Human perspective to them. Well worth a visit.

This library should be a must see for anyone visiting or living in college station. really enjoyed seeing his childhood years through the presidency of President Bush. The Barbara Bush area was just as great!!!! Easy to navigate the library.

I went to the museum with my wife because we love to visit the presidential museum and we also wanted to know more about George Bush. and it was worth it, the museum was very clean, and the staff is very nice and helpful, everything that I want to know about George Bush was fulfilled and it was better than another presidential museum that I visited before.

I was really humoring my sister when I agreed to go...I was blown away. We has other plans in the afternoon, so we only had 2 hours to spend in the museum...we could have easily spent another 1 hour.
There is an amazing amount to see, hear, read, and learn here. I thought I was well informed about the Bush family, but there was SOOOOOOO much there.

We were surprised how well done this library is. It is very large and we especially like the art associated with it and the resting place of our former president and his wife. It is well worth a visit.

Very nice library. Lots of interesting articles and fact as well as many artifacts from George and Barbara’s lives. Lots of space to roam. Beautiful area for a final resting place for the Sr. Bush couple as well as their daughter. Well done.

This is a great place to spend your evening. There is a beautiful park and a lake at the back of the museum.

Very pleased with the library, gardens, and burial site. Very clean. Great many things to see in the library itself. Very easy to follow his and Mrs. Bush life. Many wonderful exhibits from around the world. Statute of Sully made my day.
Great volunteers, eager to help and glad to answer our questions.

This was the second time I had been to this library. It was great that they added exhibits to it. The exhibits are so well done. Everyone should see this library. The admission price is very reasonable ($6). The workers are nice and very knowledgeable. Loved this place!!

Stopped by with my 2 teens to pay respects following the death of 41. My 16 year old son really enjoyed the WWII part and my daughter really enjoyed the love story. The grounds around the family burial site are peaceful and wooded. He did so much in his life that it is hard to have exhibits about it all!

I have always respected President and Mrs Bush but I didn’t know the depth of his lifetime experiences until we visited the Library. The Library offers its visitors so much personal history about them that I now feel like I know their past so much better and have a much broader understanding of who they were.
The library is beautifully located on the Texas A&M campus, about a 1.5 hour drive from downtown Houston. We spent a little over 2 hours in the museum then walked around the beautiful pond behind the building and then along the path that led to the gravesite where Mr & Mrs Bush, along with their daughter Robin are buried.
A man truly committed to his family and his country, George HW Bush was a courageous fighter in the war and a risk taker in business. The relationship he and Barbara shared is parallel to none. They were partners in every sense of the word.
Although the primary focus of the library is on President Bush, a great deal of space is also dedicated to Mrs. Bush. If you enjoy visiting Presidential libraries, this one is definitely worth the drive.

An honest, historically accurate, and thoughtful presentation of President Bush’s life, including his parents and sibs as well as the life of his wife Barbara.
The exhibits are organized on a timeline and Barbara is integrated throughout. Of course the focus is on President Bush but their life together is incorporated throughout the displays. And it’s amazing!
It’s a very personal sharing of their lives that brought me to tears. Shot down as a pilot in WWII, losing a daughter to leukemia, losing elections for the Senate, losing re-election as president, the President and his wonderful wife Barbara experienced incredible trials in their lives. Yet they always moved forward with love, hope, determination and generosity. Very poignant and inspiring.
I was surprised at how many volunteer activities they were involved in, dating back to the President’s days in college when he became involved in supporting the United Negro College Fund (imagine a Republican from the South supporting such a thing).
It’s a very detailed exhibit with wonderful photos and narrative. A must see, particularly if you have any interest at all in history.

The Library and Museum is located on the campus of the Texas A&M University in College Station. Free parking is available in front of the museum.
The history of George H. W. Bush is long and fascinating and his presidency includes the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Kuwait/Iraq war. The museum gives a good understanding of his long service to the public with several interesting exhibits such as a WWII Avenger Torpedo Bomber and a replica of Bush’s Camp David room. Also, the museum has a section dedicated to the First Lady.
The Bush Family Gravesite is situated within a short walk in a quiet and beautiful area, and is also worth a visit.
The volunteers were very friendly and helpful and did a wonderful job. The Museum is definitely worth a visit.

As others have said before, this is a fantastic museum and certainly one that I have enjoyed the most. You can’t fail to be impressed by the achievements of George Bush Senior and it is WELL worth a visit. We visited in mid August and it was quiet. We walked to the Family grave site, which was a somber experience. The admission fee was modest too at $9.

Very well done and interesting. I am a history buff and really enjoyed this museum. Bush devoted his life to the service of his country. At one point in his career (after Watergate), Bush said the presidency should be distinguished by the morality and dignity the office conveys, which are characteristics we need to again embrace and emphasize. (Trump stripped the office of both.)

Located about 100 miles from [Austin/Waco/Houston], College Station is the main campus for Texas A&M University. This is an excellent presidential library. I didn't know that President George HW Bush (Bush41) became a naval aviator at the young age of 18 - a restored torpedo bomber is hanging in the air in one part of the museum.
Bush41 was an ambassador to the UN, the head of the US Liaison Office in China, director of the CIA, vice-president to President Ronald Reagan (who also has an excellent presidential library in Simi Valley/CA), and then President (1989-1993). It was during the Bush41 presidency that the Gulf War occurred. There are exhibits that show and speak to all of these, and more. The Oval Office exhibit features a replica of the President's desk - you'll want to have a docent take your picture seated there.
A just-recently-opened separate pavilion has an actual Union Pacific 4141 diesel locomotive painted in the presidential colors, a Marine One helicopter, and a Daisy's Table restaurant (where you may have lunch or take a break).
You can easily spend a few hours at this library and museum. Highly recommend.

Museums are usually chockfull of information impossible to remember and this one is no exception.
It was amazing place to visit. I learned so much more about Pres. George Bush and his accomplishments, and I got to pay my respects as his grave along with his young daughter, Robin and his wife, Barbara are buried together.
In addition, the college is promoted. George HW Bush was a savvy innovative thinker which I was unaware of until this visit.
If you like history and you enjoy others' accomplishments, then this is the place you need to add to your travel to-do list.

From the moment you enter the library/museum, you feel that something is very special about this place.
The exhibits are always interesting and full of information. A class act.
Take your time and you will learn tons of facts and figures, not only about President Bush but about so many other things Americana.

A beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. Whether you agreed with his policies or not as president, his service to this country, from the youngest Navy aviator ever at that time, to his many civil service jobs and most importantly his love of family and friends deserves a thumbs up. The museum does an excellent job of showing and telling the character of this great American. The movie itself was well worth the visit. I enjoyed seeing a plane like the one he flew in WWII. Also liked seeing the Presidential limo and of course being able to set behind the Oval Office desk and pretend to use the phone. LOL Another great part was the video clips of him and Barbara being funny with the media. So funny!!! And finally being able to pay my respects to he and Barbara. Beautiful spot!!! So glad my wife and I went. We were there about 3.5 hrs. Can be done faster or slower. Just depends on how long one wants to spend at each exhibit. Great job to all involved!!

Awesome presidential library/museum. I've been to Herbert Hoover, FDR, Eisenhour, Truman. This had a lot of real nice displays, Bush's history in public service from young days, to CIA, VP, President and after. Even a nice display of his crazy socks from later years. Displays on Barbara also. Family history, things on his father i didn't know. We got there about an hour before closing. you need a bit more time than that.

We stayed overnight in College Station heading to Huntsville for a College Visit. We had not visited library since our son was 3-4 (now he is 16). It was a great, educational experience which we all loved for one reason or another. So much history, and exhibits just kept coming. Enjoyed the walked from the museum to the Bush's Grave site. Pond and beautiful and it is a catch and release pond at that. Need to visit the other Presidents libraries in Texas next. Recommend everyone in College Station visiting to make sure and stop here.

In town for the Alabama game and stopped by to see this presidential library. On other travels we went to Ronald Reagan and George junior's libraries. We enjoyed walking thru and remembering history. Great job to all the folks who put this together!

When he was president it was apparent he was a caring individual as was Barbara. Visiting the library brought me a much more in depth understand of how both he and Barbara did for the country and community. This is the best presidential library we have visited (it is the third library we've visited).

On my recent trip through Arkansas and Texas, I visited four presidential libraries/museums. This is the presidential museum and library that I thought was most well-done. I thought it showed different aspects of Bush’s life. He was definitely the heroic person during WWII.

The items in the library and layout were well thought out. We really enjoyed our tour of the rooms and it provided much for discussion after we left. (Still a puzzle why George HW Bush did not get a second term ... other than Ross Perot split the votes. Such a pity!) Information had been updated to account for Mrs. Bush’s passing. Highly recommend watching the film before starting. It was well prepared. Visit the cemetery if time permits!

They had a awesome collection of historical items from his presidency. The White House Christmas tree was beautiful reflection of Mrs Bush and our national parks. Felt like part of the family by the time we left.

One of the more interesting places to visit in College Station. It was windy and raining (and potential tornados) so we didn't get outside, but the museum itself was a well organized and interesting trip thru the lives of HW and Barbara Bush. There was special exhibit on terrorism over the course of history that was very well done also.

Excellent up to date overview of the Bush White House. It was a high tech sight and sound experience and well worth the trip.

No matter what you think about his presidency, it is worth taking a trip to his Library if you are in the area. I arrived not having an opinion or expectation and left feeling inspired and uplifted and ready to go conquer any challenge. They did a great job humanizing him and created the understanding of how much love and loyalty he possesses. His story is quite fascinating and I am glad I took the time to learn it. He had more of an impact then I ever would have realized. Well worth a visit.

The facility is nice, has a good flow though history, and the displays are of good quality.
Unfortunately, there is a very limited amount of audio guides and the written information is not very rich in details.

We highly recommend this Library and Museum which is very informative, entertaining, and contains a great deal of historical information about President Bush 41, his life, and his accomplishments, along with a personal side of his life and times.

Please experience this wonderful collection and memorabilia! You will be very glad you did. This is a wonderful exhibit.

This Presidential Library is huge and covers President Bush"s life from the 1930's until his death. He lead a full and event filled life. I highly recommend a visit.

Excellent on so many levels. The layout of the museum was easy to navigate. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The information was presented well.

The Library is very well done. Great memorabilia from the Presidents life. Grave site for the President and Barbara is located behind the library. Beautiful grounds.

While visiting Houston, I made the 80 minute drive to visit the museum.
I thoroughly enjoyed the visit. First class all the way. Very presidential indeed.
I thought I knew a lot about President Bush 41 but found that my knowledge was just the tip of the iceberg.
What a hero and patriot he, Mrs Bush and their family are.
The final resting place is so quiet and serene.
I would encouraged anyone that can make the trip to College Station to take the time to visit.

This was my 2nd time of coming. Had fun! a lot of new things. The grave site, his funeral ride on the train.

George Bush (the first) did a huge number of things spanning the 20th century, and he museum address much of it. There are examples of his early life, war exploits, Texas oil career, service in congress, ambassador, political party, vice president, and of course his time in the whitehouse. There are nice parts about the Oval office, family in White House and the war in Iraq, well-organized and focused, unlike later! there is even a great part bringing out his humor.

My wife and I visited on a Saturday recently and absolutely loved it. It was very well done, very informative, and well worth the admission fee. We did the short introductory video outlining President Bush’s life, which was very helpful and followed the same layout of the museum. We also took the short walk to the President and First Lady’s gravesite. I would highly recommend anyone visiting the area to stop by this museum!

We have been talking about doing a short tour of the Bush Libraries and started here. We were impressed with the library very well done and informative. Take all the pictures you want. We were at the JFK Library last summer and were disappointed. Both the Library and the surrounding grounds were well done.
Two disappointments the intro film was not very informative and we were not offered the audio tour guide units which may have enhanced our visit.
Free parking and discounts for seniors, military and students.

This museum is a special place where families with school age children should visit and soak up the patriotism exemplified by the Bush Family. The kids will never get this in school! For me, I learned so much about the family after the presidency. this family never stopped giving!

This was our 7th Presidential Library and the first one where I felt an actual connection with the Bush family as regular people. Though both George & Barbara originated from patrician East Coast families they considered themselves Texans after their move there when George went to work for the oil company. I truly felt the warmth of the love the family had for each other and their fellow Texans. The memorial garden where Mrs. Bush and their daughter Robin are buried is especially peaceful & poignant.
Also highly recommended is the Leonardo de Vinci exhibit on Machines in Motion. The genius of this remarkable man is absolutely undeniable..

First time to visit such a place and I can tell you if you like history and people who make them this is the place to go. The replica of the oval office alone was worth it. So much to see and learn, great place to bring the kids. Discounts offered but paid parking too small.

I liked the interactive display that was decision making. It let everyone pretend they were president and given data and advice from presidential advisors you made your best decision and got to compare it with history.
Lots of primary documents, pictures and of course history. I really liked it and spent 2 1/2 hours there. I think both children and adults would enjoy this museum if they like history. The separate Freedom Matters exhibit was good for students.
The gift store was uninspired though. Unlike most museum gift stores, no unique gifts -this one has mostly just Bush fan stuff like the stuffed dog he owned -Barney, cups, glasses, pens, shirts - stuff like that nothing remarkable.
Don't bother with it or the pictures they offer of you sitting in the Oval Office - it's a gimmick you have to pay to get a copy and they actually route you through the gift shop in order to walk out of the museum.

The museum focuses almost entirely on George and Barbara's relationship and the Bush family in general. Those who are interested in the personal history of the Bush family or are already captivated by their marriage will be very happy.
Those that want to see and learn more about George's time in the government and specifically as president may be a bit disappointed. Other libraries do a better job of balancing these distinct aspects of a president's life.
Overall however it's definitely worth visiting, especially for anyone interested in the person behind the presidency.

This was the 3rd library of 4 we have seen (went to LBJ in Austin the same weekend). This one is very good. We could have spent a full 3 hours here, and maybe more if we spent more time on the outside grounds, but we didn't have the time. Admission was reasonably priced. The burial grounds and the walk to them were so serene. I'm glad we were there as soon as they opened so that there were not a lot of people there yet.

Extremely well done, does a great job depicting this great mans life, public service and as president. Great for all ages. Wonderful staff, very knowledgeable and helpful.

Very nice museum capturing the President's and the First Lady's life. Takes a couple of hours to go through it if done right. There are outside grounds to go visit but we didn't get to do; this would probably add about another hour. Totally worth a visit regardless of your political affiliation.

My wife and I are on a quest to visit all of the Presidential Museums. This one was our 5th. From the time you walk in the door (where friendly people greet you with a warm welcome) until the time you leave you will feel overwhelmed by the legacy of this great President and his beloved wife. The museum is terrific. The exhibits and displays are topnotch. And added touch is that this museum is located on the campus of Texas A & M University. Take some time to drive around the beautiful campus.

From the parking lot and grounds, to the displays and layout, this museum is top notch. There were so many interesting artifacts, photos, and replicas, audio info., and a free audio tour. The docents were SO helpful and friendly; that also helped make it a great experience. Everything was immaculate and well cared for, from the exhibits to the restrooms. At $9 you can't go wrong spending a few hours there!

I have been trying to hit all the Presidential Libraries and the George Bush Library is one of the better put together ones I have been to. I did learn some information that I did not know about him. this is a must go to if around college station.

We spent 4 hours here because there was so much to see in this large, beautiful, very well organized and very well appointed space. We started by admiring the sculptures outside and walking the path around the pond out back leading to their gravesites, which was a very moving surprise as we had no idea beforehand they were buried there until we discovered it in our online research for this trip. The exhibits were so well done that we were so fascinated and in awe and not at all bored at any point. We especially appreciated the intimate stories and artifacts from his service as a young man in WWII. Bravo to the GHW Bush Library.

We were at this Bush library shortly after it opened many years ago and really enjoyed it. In the intervening years, the museum has expanded and has improved on an already excellent product. Lots to learn about the Bush family and the era they lived. One cannot help but be inspired by their selfless drive to serve our nation. Outside visitors can pay their respects at the gravesite of George and Barbara Bush (and their daughter Robin). Plan 2-3 hours at a minimum. The free-with-admission audio wands offer additional material than the signs along the exhibit displays.

We enjoyed seeing the history of the Bush family. There was a good combination of display items, photos, and videos all in a beautiful facility. The staff and volunteers were very helpful.

A wonderful experience to learn about George H.W. Bush. Many interesting displays and history. Enjoyed finding how humorous Barbara Bush was and the matriarch of the family.

I was glad that I went. This was the 4th presidential library that I've visited. Its' not too big and it doesn't overwhelm you. The Bushes are buried about 1/4 mile from the Museum, and there's no shaded walkway to get there. Wear a hat if it's hot weather!

This place is very unique. I really enjoyed the story they told to a point. Once it got to the CIA area, it felt a bit forced and well political-- I know right!?! The story of the lives of George and Barbara was indeed incredible. From gifting Barbara with a family heirloom for a wedding ring, to being given a new car for his graduation, to landing jobs that gave good pay and housing to getting school paid for through GI Bill and scholarships, this life he led was indeed a special one. (They even had a display that called George "Golden Boy"). I left amazed at what they had accomplished, but also feeling like no one of average birth and opportunity to could ever do what these two did. I tried to pick up a biography, but the gift store was packed and I couldn't even get to the book section. Upon returning home I checked out a bio from the local library and opened the first page to see Mrs. Bush describe her life as "privileged". It was nice to see that she realized that her station/status has afforded her opportunities that most of us will never get. Unlike many in a privileged life, they used that station to serve others -- the true impact of a remarkable life and presidency.

This is the best Presidential Library and Museum ever! The staff was so welcoming and the floorplan was so nicely laid out, it was a pleasure for all 7 of us. Everything was very nicely done! We really enjoyed the outside monument representing horses going over the Berlin Wall. The short walk to the burial site was well worth the visit!

This is perhaps the best of the Presidential museums we have visited. I didn't think the Reagan library could be matched, but this one exceeded all expectations. A wonderful display of information on a life well lived and a family that loved one another. We should be grateful that we have men like George Bush to serve as our national leaders. Thanks to the staff and docents for a great day.

My husband and I had a wonderful visit here on Presidents Day. The setting is lovely and there is lots ot see in the museum. It is a beautiful walk to the gravesite behind the museum and a wonderul tribute to President Bush and his family.

If you have the time, try to spend most of a day here. There is so much to read and hear. Be sure to ask for one of the audio guides for a more complete experience. I enjoyed re-living the moments in history from 41's presidency and learning much more about his early life. Save a few bucks with the Groupon deal. There is no food available, but parking and re-entry the same day are both free.

Let me first say....although this is a very interesting museum, well done, I was most disappointed that when we paid our admission, our son who is a military veteran was not given a discount. To get that discount at THIS presidential library, one has to be either retired or active. I wanted to tell them that in addition to being a veteran, he is a disabled veteran. Shame on this Library. I didn’t say anything...
There are many items from the Presidents military service, his family life, as well as Barbara’s family history, very nice Library...except...for the admission issue.

The museum was amazing clean beautiful had a lot of history enjoyed walking around and seeing and reading all the information. Can’t wait to go back to see Marine 1 and the train car.

An authentic reflection of this honorable patriot who survived combat during WWII, and family man ( as well as entrepreneur) who left a very successful business to serve all in our country in a variety of roles: congressman, chief of CIA, ambassador to China, VP and Commander In Chief. Less electronic razzle dazzle than at some other Presidential Libraries, relying more on historical photos and artifacts. Tasteful and elegant display of selected gifts received as President. Gives more air time to wife Barbara than other Presidential Libraries give to their First Lady.
Easy 90 minutes drive from Houston.

I really enjoyed this museum with how well it was set up with the displays. Very educational and open floor plan so it doesn't seem as crowded as it is. The price was very reasonable being $10 for adults in comparison to admission prices at other presidential libraries I have been to. There is a piece of the Berlin Wall and photography is allowed except in some of the special exhibit areas that are copyrighted. The burial sites are around back and is a ways down and around a path in the woods to get to. It is a simple site and not very handicapped accessible/friendly in my opinion. The entire area is beautifully kept and very well worth the time to visit.

The exhibits are well laid out and lovely to look at. Plenty of places to sit and just soak it all in. The graves are behind and to the left at the pond area which means they are not as close as they are at Reagan's ( My #1 Library).
There is so much to be impressed with from the gift to the displays to the rotunda. He was a marvelous man and this library reflects it. The first lady section is most well done. American's Grandmother!
At the end, you will find all the necklaces of honor he was given and if you are not impressed by it all I do not know why not!
We were lucky to score tickets to the Christmas tree lighting and reception after. It was just shortly after the anniversay of his death for which there were some memorial wreaths out when we got there. The ceremony was nice and there were a number of chairs set out. The Chamber of Commerce put it on as well as the food inside. The library was left open so for the time between closing and the ceremony, you could visit if you had been there or just sit.
The Sully display was finished just the day before and is touching.
The store is rather small but there were some interesting things to buy.

Warm, friendly staff, beautiful facility, educational and engaging. My wife and I planned to spend an hour or two, but stayed for three hours, and we could have stayed longer. There is a great deal of US History covered at the beginning of the tour, then gradually moves into the Bush and Prescott families, then a realistic focus on his challenges and accomplishments as president. One pleasant surprise near the end, was a video showing the many times SNL did sketches of President Bush and mutual respect shown between the president and Dana Carvey.

This is the 9th of the Presidential libraries we have visited. Slightly above average (but nowhere near Reagan or JFK). Good coverage of Hush the elder’s whole life and very long career. Well worth a visit. Recommended.

I was on a trip to visit all of the presidential libraries in Texas. There are three - one for George W. Bush in Dallas, one for Lyndon B. Johnson in Austin, and this one for George H.W. Bush in College Station, TX.
OUTSIDE
You see trees, pasture land, cows, then - BAM!- a sprawling building in the middle of a large expanse of ground. The FREE visitor's parking lot is Lot #41.
There is a circular area just in front of the door, perfect for picture taking.
INSIDE
President Bush's funeral had been held on the week that I visited. There were crowds of people inside. Just inside the door is an impressive rotunda with skylight with portraits high on the walls.
3 giant condolence books for visitors to sign were there during my visit.
Past the rotunda to your left in front of you, the museum begins. Cars, documents, replicas of rooms in the executive mansion are there.
The Oval Office is not shown to the side, to its full effect [as it is in the Johnson and Bush43 libraries]. instead, there is a cross section, you have only half the the oval. You stare at his desk head on with a rounded facade behind. People were clamoring to sit at the desk. I am surprised there were no museum representatives to guide the sobriety and tone of the room.
Even so, I would recommend this museum.

I think we spent about 3 hours here. Covered all aspects of the Bush Family life. Very informative. Could have even spent longer if we watched every video to its end. We were glad we went.
Gift shop was a little pricey, but that's to be expected I suppose.

This is Number Five on our presidential library tour and it was one of the better ones we visited. The video is long but very good. I highly recommend you take the time to watch it all. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.

I have been here twice and every time, we have had to leave before we have a chance to see everything we wanted to. You will want to have more than 2 hours if you want to take your time and enjoy it, read and take pictures. Also, save some time to visit the park and final resting place outside. It is beautiful...

Visited on a day trip from Houston. Very pleasant drive away from the cityscape to the rolling hills. Greeted by an imposing entrance, but a warm Texas welcome inside. Beautiful and spotless interior with nominal entrance fee. The exhibitor were well planned starting with the Bush family roots with parallels of Barbara (Pierce) Bush and her family. Major events in Bush 41’s life from his heroic Navy service to his years of public service and eventual and eventful presidency are covered. Hands on Oval Office experience and videos provided an educational visit.

There were 5 senior cousins some had been before but it was like seeing it for the first time..so interesting..well documented..amazing experience..if you haven't gone put it on your list for a great day trip..short drive from Houston

Wonderful collection, well-presented. Friendly staff, though volunteer was unable to answer a couple of questions and instead proceeded to try to cover by telling me an unrelated fact and presented other facts that were obvious to anyone who had viewed the exhibits. Disappointed that we were unable to view Marine One and 4141 locomotive, which will be unveiled in June. Burial ground beautiful.

Regardless of your political affiliation, this library and museum is a great view into a consequential time in American history. From patriot, to businessman, to statesman, to philanthropist George Bush's story is an impressive one. The museum does a wonderful job of bringing you into that story.

The George H. W. Bush Library and museum is something not to be missed. President Bush was a special man and the museum is a special place. As an overview, the museum takes you from his youth and education into his joining the military and receiving the distinguished flying cross. Further, along the way, the museum captures the essence of his family life, his work in the oil industry, and his move into politics. Displays remind you of the many experiences he had as President. His story and that of his family is presented through different rooms, sharing vignettes of the different times. An incredible story unfolds as you wander through the museum, leaving you with a strong sense of respect for the man and his journey. As an aside, the docents we encountered were warm individuals, both knowledgeable and caring, for not only this place, but also for the man and his family. Separately, absolutely not to be missed, is the walk down and around the lake, over the bridge, to the actual repository of President Bush, his lovely wife and infant daughter.
Personally the hallmark of visiting historic areas and places is not only to remember them when you leave, but remember them far past those moments. I believe you will enjoy and remember your visit to this museum. When we left the museum, we felt like we had had a personal visit with the Bush family.

My dad wanted to visit so I brought him. It is an excellent museum. Easy to get around. Great videos and things to look at. Not as good as the Reagan library but still an excellent stop that I can recommend for anyone. Especially for the cost, which is low.

With family and friends we returned to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. We were greeted by the Assistant Director, who provided us with an overview of the museum and plans for future expansion. During this visit there was a special exhibit about spies and espionage. This is a great presidential library and museum, where the many exhibits tell of the outstanding service provided by George and Barbara Bush.

Great place, well presented, people here are very welcoming, and lots to learn! It was a great experience for me, very interesting information, excellent presentations, if you have a chance come and visit!

I have always been a fan of President George H. W. Bush and his lovely wife Barbara. I’ve never really had the desire to meet anyone famous except for these two lovely people. The world is better because they were here and is lesser because they are gone. The presidential library is a living breathing memorial of their lifetime. From the presidential limo to the most personal stories of their life, you get to know these people from their beginning. The stories of their daughter who passed away from cancer to games for the kids to practice flying a plane, There is something for everyone at the library. They have a small gift shop and a small café. The staff is very friendly and there is even a station where you can ask Barbara a question and get an answer from her printed. I think it’s a lovely museum.

Visited the Library when my daughter was at work while visiting in CStation.....Amazing to see and hear about a man who made many sacrifices for his country...WWII....business....and politics...he loved his country, his family and his God...RIP Mr. President....

The George H. W. Bush Museum and Library does a very good job of illustrating the life and times of this man, our 41st president, and his wife, Barbara Pierce Bush. The layout of the museum takes you through George’s and Barbara’s childhoods, George’s military service, George and Barbara’s wedding, their move to Texas and his work in the petroleum industry, elective office, public service, election as president and Barbara’s contributions as First Lady. I learned a number of things about George and Barbara Bush that hadn’t know before.
After touring the museum, we took a walk past the pond to the burial site of the president, Mrs. Bush and daughter Robin who passed away at age 3 of leukemia. If you’re in the Bryan/College Station area, be sure to visit the George H. W. Bush Library and Museum – you will find it time well spent.

Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the museum, i went in more expecting a library with books and material dedicated to the Bush family. Its a great walk through the lanes of history and learning about the life and travels of Bush Sr. Definitely was much more decorated and qualified than I thought. Recommended if you're in College Station!

We had a wonderful time at the George H.W. Bush Presidential library. I learned so much about his and Barbara's lives before and after the presidency and I found their love for family, their sense of adventure--the feeling of possibilities being just around the corner--and their strongly-held value of civility and being willing to hear out the other side to be inspirational. I highly recommend this venue!

The museum is chronological, covering his childhood and school years as well as Barbara's background. Some of the artifacts on display are amazing, especially the gifts they were given while in the White House. A great place to stop.

Wonderful experience, Very well done, can see history as it unveiled during the Bush Presidency . The burial site for the President and First Lady are a humblinging addition!

It was very nice seeing the train. I enjoyed the train for the former President.
The library is a must see.

Drove over to library from San Antonio for a quick overnight trip since we were here for a conference. The library was great and had a lot of memories of President Busch. We were able to visit the grave sites and pay our respect. The pond is beautiful with all the flowers and rose garden.

Impromptu visit to pay respect to former Pres. Bush and family. Beautiful well kept grounds and free parking was a plus. Not busy so we were able to walk freely and enjoy the birds chirping and nature....ahhhh

This was our 8th presidential library and museum to visit and provided a very broad review of his life from beginning to end. The exhibits portray a strong family value and gives quite a bit of recognition to Barbara Bush as well.
They touch quite a bit on his military service and a little bit on his time as a congressman and Director of the CIA. They go into a little more detail about his service as Ambassador to the UN. Other than Desert Storm, they didn’t have as great a detail about his time as President as I would have expected.
The grounds are very nice and their final resting place is tranquil and peaceful. Plan to spend about two to three hours in the museum and library, and about an hour seeing the grounds.

Great library and museum! I learned almost everything on George H.W.Bush.I saw an Avenger aircraft when he served U.S.Navy.Then I learned his life from New England to White House and Houston TX.
I saw his oval office.A lady took my picture.Thank you.I learned history on the Gulf War.I saw a funny T-shirts at the gift shop.It says" I am not going to eat any more broccoli'.He lives over 90 years old. Many people believe that broccoli is the healthiest food in the world. He has proved that we can live longer without broccoli. LOL.
If you are in Houston, please drive here.It is worth while driving. It may take 3 or 4 hours to walk around this museum.Hope many people visit this great museum.

We visited the Library and Museum shortly after the national and state memorial services and I feel honored that I was able to pay my respects in person to a man that I consider to be one of the most honorable men of my lifetime. That thought was only reinforced by this visit.
Too often we remember only the last thing we read or heard. A visit to the Library and Museum gives us an overview of how truly incredible George Herbert Walker Bush was. While his service and action in WWII have been discussed at length, what I think I found most appealing during this visit and what has not been discussed as much was his true devotion to this country. He was a very loyal friend and an ambitious man, but there were examples of him putting both aside for the good of his country. This is spelled out with example after example.
The museum flows well and you are welcome to spend as much to as little time as you desire. The pathway to the burial site is beautiful and peaceful even in really cold weather. Worth the walk.

This Museum was very interesting. If you like to read everything, get there when they open. It takes a long time to get through it. There are so many interesting items to read. We went from 2-5, and only got through half of the Museum and did not get to visit grave sight due to rain and the Museum closing.

Well organized museum taking you through the life and accomplishments of President Bush. You could spend a few hours seeing everything they have on display.

This was my 5th Presidential library I visited (Washington, George W Bush, Reagan and Nixon). Although it was not the best of the lot, it was very well done and did a great job honoring a good man. Doesn’t matter if you are a Democrat or Republican, Bush’s service to his country was impressive. The library does a good job of capturing his career. If you are in town, make some time to visit.

By invitation, my wife and I attended a special showing of the Mandela exhibit at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. The special exhibit devoted to the life of human rights activist Nelson Mandela, whose efforts spanning decades brought an end to apartheid in South Africa, was exceptionally well done. While, there, we had the opportunity to visit with the Deputy Director of this Presidential Library and Museum and wander around at our leisure to see the permanent exhibits on the life and career of George H. W. Bush and his beloved wife. Persons interested in history, leadership, and service will enjoy visiting this impressive facility.

Be sure and do the orientation movie just off the main entrance to give you an idea of what is available there.
We had 4 hours and I could have used twice as much! Ended up having to breeze through a couple of rooms towards the end of the library as it was closing.
Very interesting to look back in his presidency. I was aware of most of the things he’d done in his life but to see it all under one roof was impressive. A great President and family.

What an amazing library to represent a past president and his legacy. The library is laid out with a flow that lets you grow with him and his career. Once you see the library you can then take a tour to the area that has the 4141 locomotive and the Marine One. Inside this building is a small cafe that displays items as well.
The burial ground is set up at the end of a winding pathway with a beautiful view. You can walk around the pond and look at the many flowers blooming and have seating along the way to take in the serenity.

This was my first visit to a Presidential Library and I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how informative this library/museum was. My favorite part was the Oval Office just as GHWB had his. They allow you to sit at the desk and take your own pictures. There is a small lake in the rear with catch and release fishing. The gravesites are tastefully cared for. If you are in College Station this is a must see.

If you love history and libraries this is the place to go. The compound itself is beautiful with a good sized pond.

Visited here while in town over Thanksgiving Holiday. Decorated beautifully for Christmas. Such friendly staff/volunteers. Could spend all day. Great gift shop. Lovely grounds. Can’t wait to go back and see Sully, the locomotive and restaurant when they arrive. I would definitely recommend anyone in town to visit here.

We spent several hours at the library. Be sure and watch the clips in the sitting room near the Barbara Bush section. They are casual and provide a glimpse of the funny side of the older Bush couple. We also walked down to the gravesite, which is well maintained.

It's definitely a long way to get here, if you're a tourist, but it's worth it. Well-assembled exhibits and a pretty nice space. The staff is very friendly and there are many things to see. Don't miss the starter movie and take time for your tour.

So well done. One of the best I’ve seen. Every exhibit artfully and thoroughly presented with something of interest for everyone. Get the free audio tape to use while there and be sure to walk out to the final resting place by the beautiful lake setting.

Really interesting! His life sounded like a movie. He was a fighter pilot who was rescued after crashing into the sea, father and husband, entrepreneur, CIA Director, ambassador, and President.

Very good museum that follows his life from beginning to end. Very well done in a nice relaxed respectful way. Not as stuffy as his sons library in Dallas. Fun for kids as they have a treasure hunt with his dog Millie

Very well organized a presented material detail the life of ‘41. Loved the recorded memories from President and Mrs. Bush. We were inspired, awed, and challenged!

I guess I was spoiled going to the George W Bush Presidential Library as my first one. George HW Bush Presidential Library is much smaller and not as well organized. I will say that it was still an amazing place to visit. The price is very affordable for an attraction. The museum does start chronologically and proceeds to both Barbara and George's deaths. It gives a very human side to what most people see as a president. My only real complaints are the lighting that was chosen for the gifts to the president made it hard to photograph well and they were placed in several different areas. All in all, I would highly recommend visiting this presidential library.

My daughter & I visited the George Bush Presidential Library. What a wonderful experience. Although she was too young to really remember him as President, she learned a lot and was fascinated by the pictures, letters, videos, etc. What a wonderful legacy President Bush left to his family, friends, & our country. The gravesites of he, Mrs. Bush & their daughter Robin are in the back of the library enclosed by an iron gate. Their graves are simple......but comforting to know the three of them are resting together. A must see when in College Station.

The George H. W. Bush Presidential Library on the Texas A&M Campus in College Station, TX is an excellent place to visit with Family for an emphasis on "living history" instead of just reading about it in a book. There is a restored WW II "Avenger" carrier-aircraft hanging from the ceiling-which is the type of aircraft that Geo. Bush ditched in the Pacific after being shot down. The journey from His Yale Campus Education, His WW II War Years, His Marriage & Family move to Texas, His U. S. Ambassadorship to the UN, His U. S. Ambassadorship to China, His Head of the CIA, His Vice-Presidency with Ronald Reagan, His Presidency, His World Ambassadorship after being in Office as well as the outdoor Burial Site of His, Barbara's and their Daughter-Robin are presented on the grounds & in the Museum. A piece of the Berlin Wall, the parachute He used when He skydived in His 90's, His Presidential Limo, One of His "famous 'Fidelity' speed boats," a mockup of Camp David, as well as an introductory film with of course a gift shop make this a patriotic attraction to be sure and place on your "Bucket List." You will not be disappointed. There is an admission charge. Be sure to allow time to walk past the lake and down the wooded path to view & pay Your Respects to The Family's Final Rest Place.

I stopped in on a Thursday morning with some colleagues. We only had a couple hours to spend, but it was plenty of time to walk through the exhibit, gift shop and the outdoor areas. This museum is very well done, is well kept and has a beautiful walking trail outside to the grave site. I suggest you go in the morning when they first open as it can get very crowded in the afternoon (I went back the next afternoon to buy more souvenirs for family and could not find a parking spot!)

The thing that strikes you after visiting this museum, is the number of huge events in American history that occurred during the Bush presidency. You leave with an huge amount of respect and admiration for the enormity of the decisions President Bush had to make following 9/11, the invasion of Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, and the stock market crash. Start your tour in Freedom Hall by watching the video overhead. I also recommend you watch all of the short films inside the museum, and finish your tour with the video of President Bush delivery the eulogy at his dad's funeral. The 9/11 section is really good. You can also visit the oval office and sit at the president's desk for a great photo op. You can spend hours here if you read everything but we stayed about two hours and felt like we had a good overview. On your way out, visit the cases that display gifts to the president and first lady.

I was never particularly interested in George H.W. Bush, but stopped at this museum to kill some tume in College Station. Wow, am O glad I did! I came to really appreciate this Bush as a person, a veteran, a diplomat, a husband and father, and as a genuine lover of the USA and the values this country should stand for. It was such a pleasant and inspiring way to pass a few hours. My teenagers also enjoyed the displays. I recommend visiting this museum.

Very welcoming staff. Fantastic items and memories. A maagnificent trip through recent US history. Want to come back for more

I have been to the museum several time and each time I truely enjoy it. They have a great interactive display right now for young kids.

A great museum in fine tribute to George & Barbara. My wife and I made the trip in quest of visiting the Presidential cemeteries (33 now). When you arrive at the museum, we recommend, before entering the building, visiting the beautiful pond, Barbara's garden, and the cemetery located in the rear of the building. You walk down the side of the building to access the area. You will want to go early to the avoid the afternoon heat. Unbelievable landscape and peaceful reflection. You start your self guided tour inside with a fine movie as a way of introduction on George's legacy. Then you visit the various rooms in chronological order. As with many presidents, there were move events in the presidency than remembered; from Gorbachev, Dessert Storm, and unadvised tax reform, to the humorous side with Dana Carvey and SNL. There's a great review of Barbara's accomplishments as well. The museum is spacious and well designed. Of course the obligatory gift shop is available on the way out. We thought it odd that there were no bookmarks available for purchase, as Barbara's platform was literacy. We left with continued respect for 41.

Great history of George Bush and family. Not just about president years but also about growing up, Barbara and post presidential time.

I visited this library / museum while on a road trip to visit all three Texas presidential libraries. This was the best of the three. It was very well done and was a great reminder as to the many things George Bush did and what a great public servant he was.

Truly a spectacular site to visit. There is plenty of free parking, a minimal fee to enter, and access to the President and First Lady's graves (during business hours). It is well arranged and easy to navigate. Start with the movie and explore!

The George HW Bush library and museum are located on the campus of Texas A&M. He attended Yale and chose the location because of the “spirit on the campus”. He believed that public service was a noble calling.
Retractable bollards control entry in the museum’s circular drive adorned with US flags. While security personnel and metal detector greet you in the entrance, museum docents await in the large lobby filled with Presidential portraits, gift shop, tables, and restrooms.
Wear comfortable shoes during your stay. Next door, to the library, is the Bush School of Government and Public Service.
The Union Pacific Engine 4141, retired Marine One helicopter, limousine, personal car, and Avenger, he flew as a Navy pilot are part of the permanent exhibit. All are petitioned off so you can’t look inside.
Daisy’s Table cafe is located inside the Marine One/Locomotive 4141 Pavilion.
Theater seating surrounds you as a short feature film of his life plays. 10/10 There’s an immense amount of archival holdings and personal family mementos during. It has a great flow, super cold a/c 10/10, a beautiful lake leads to the long walkway to the Bush final resting place with their young daughter, Robin, who died of advanced leukemia at 3.

This absolutely is a must visit for anyone with any reason to be in College Ststion. I find the Chinese Artifacts that George & Barbara acquired while he was the Ambassador to China to be most interesting & rare.

I wish I could leave a 5 start rating because President Bush 41 was a wonderful leader - but I don't think he would be pleased with the fact that they sold us tickets for 2:15 entry and told us we had to leave at 3:30 after we were on the tour! Not a great way to treat patrons and were so disappointed to miss some of the exhibits. Not even an apology. I am greatful we could walk to the graves and it's very scenic.

We were in Texas to see all three Presidential Libraries. We really enjoyed George H. W's. It was full of information. The docents were very informative. It was full of information about his family, which we loved. I especially liked the Barbara Bush area. My only complaint is it was a little difficult to hear some of the narratives as there were a lot of people.

Need at least 1/2 a day to truly see it and read all the information Very well laid out with some great photos of family and friends. Beautifully done with equally beautiful grounds. The burial site is secluded and quiet. Will return to finish reading the areas we rushed through

This place is rich with history. Those who might enjoy this place: History Buffs, School-aged kids, WWII Vets, Gulf War Vets, etc. Also, who would enjoy this place are: People who are able to look at the Big Picture and see reality for what it is, Those who appreciate traditional family values, Those who know the value of serving others, those who value all Human Life, including the lives of our enemies overseas- This great man lived such values, as reflected by his quotes which are posted, throughout the museum. What a beautiful story of a great man. The legacy he left should be an inspiration to most Americans!

We drove from Houston for an overnight stay in College Station so we could visit the Bush grave site. Even though the library is closed due to the shut down, you can still visit the grave site during the regular library hours.
There is a large pond separating the various buildings from the walkway to the site. It is beautifully landscaped and well taken care of.
It was wonderful to pay respects to such a special couple who contributed so much to our country.

Never visited a presidential library before but had some time and went here, really great yo see. They've made some changes since the death of the president and first lady last year, but it provides a close look at the Bush's family life, the WWII era, and his life in politics. I'll definitely have to see other presidential libraries when I travel.

Great way to spend there day or an afternoon. The displays are always changing so it's never boring.

Such a privilege to visit the GBL anytime. I miss a lot of great exhibits that have been there. I wish I could see them all. I can’t say enough good things about the great history that is displayed there. It makes me feel blessed. And while it is the only presidential library I’ve been to I think I’m partial to the Bush family as a whole. They loved this community and we loved them. I try to take family visitors there when they come here and just about anyone I could in the past when I was younger. Working with school kids gives many opportunities to visit the library as all school children are taken there through school trips. I highly recommend everyone who even comes through this community to visit this library. And Barbara Bush has a learning center for younger school age children. She ( they) did so much for our community.

The museum presents the various periods in the life of H.W. George Bush and his wife Barbara. Unlike many museums that are impersonal, this museum is informative and shows you a personal side to the Bush's.

Ever changing displays. Lots of historical pieces. Be sure and save time to take a walk in the gardens.

Visiting all the presidential libraries is on our bucket list. The grounds of the GHWB Library are absolutely gorgeous with Barbara Bush’s rose garden, 41’s fishing pond, and the burial site of Barbara and daughter Robin. The inside is very well done as well, providing visitors with a great timeline of 41’s life from birth through Barbara’s passing. The Oval Office was not as well done as in the other libraries we have visited, but the overall library is more “hands on” than the other ones we have been to. While we were there, they also had a Leonardo da Vinci exhibit going on that was very interesting. Definitely a must see if you are in the College Station area.

We go every 3-4 months because there is so much to see and it changes periodically. It is especially interesting to visit the grave site in back of the museum now that George HW Bush is buried there along with Barbara and their young daughter.

This was my third presidential library to visit and the most welcoming and engaging one of the three. Before you even buy tickets, you are greeted by a docent who gives you helpful information and a warm smile. The senior ticket price is $7 and it’s only $3 for children age 6-17. Spread here and there throughout the exhibits were small doghouses, each with a question, for children to explore. My 8 year old loved that. The “living room” exhibit toward the end has a very funny mock interview of George and Barbara Bush that young and old will enjoy. We spent almost 2 hours there and did not see everything. Well worth your time.

This was a fantastic tribute to President Bush and provided thorough biographical information and interesting facts about his life--both family and political. There is a very modest fee for the museum (Free for children under 6, $3 for children up to 17 years, $6 for adults). The outdoor area, which is absolutely beautiful, is free. Some children may become bored, as there is a lot of reading involved and not too many interactive exhibits, but history buffs and adults will certainly enjoy this attraction.

While visiting my daughter in college this past weekend at college station, we went and visited the George H. Bush presidential library and were glad we did.
There is a great deal to see and experience. My college kid got in for free with student id and an adult was 9.00 which was well worth seeing what was there.

This was our 3rd Presidential Library to visit (the others being JFK in Boston and Clinton in Little Rock, AR). It is not huge, but well presented. It could be organized a little better as there is some meandering and if you're not paying attention, it would be easy to miss some exhibits. But it is educational and classy and honors a great man. The library focuses more on the Bush Family than the politics of George Bush, and I believe this is a good and not bad thing. Our whole family enjoyed it. We will come back later when it is cooler in the fall to explore the grounds and visit the gravesites. The price was good ($20 for 2 adults and 2 10-year olds, with Triple A discount).

My visit to the George Bush museum was very enjoyable. The museum has a great collection of items from the Presidents time in office as well as from his life before. It’s well laid out and easy to walk through. If you find yourself in College Station and have an hour or two to spar stop by and look around. You will be glad you did. (Oh yea, dont forget to walk around the park area in the back and see where Mr. and Mrs. Bush are laid to rest. It really ties the whole experience together)

The museum is easy to find, had plentiful parking (Aggies “away” game), and looked majestic on the grounds of A&M. We were fortunate to visit while a traveling Leonardo de Vinci hands-on display was there. The docents were fully deep-south-Texas friendly and helpful. Although many didn’t realize it through Mr. Bush’s time in office, he seems to be a genuine and gracious man. The museum capably reflects that man with humility, humor, and, remarkably, humbleness. Parts of the display are touching and, on whole, reflects well on the legacy of George H.W. Bush. Truly worth your visit. And by all means, do take time to watch some TV and have a seat on the furniture Mrs. Bush chose!

This was SO worth the trip!! I took my 17 year old son while we were in town for a college tour. He said he was so glad that we went! This tour was great! Plan on allowing 1.5-2 hours so that you aren’t rushed. You will want to walk out back to the gravesites of President and Mrs. Bush. There are lots of photo opportunities too!
There are so many historical things from the past to see and there are interactive areas where you can answer a question and see what most people answered now as well as what the answer was years ago.

As we've been to a number of the presidential libraries, this was one of the best (shoutout to LBJ's in Austin as well). General Admission cost is quite low relative to other locations. The library offers the perspective of Bush Sr's whole life, from childhood, through wartime as a fighter pilot, education, the presidency, family and beyond. The Bush's are also buried on the property, with a dignified grave site. While I was not a Bush voter, I gained a whole new respect for the man - Excellent tribute and legacy

We visited on a quiet Wednesday. Staff was friendly and helpful. The
Museum was well planned and presented a thorough and accurate view of the life and times of GHW.

We made the visit following the memorial services for President Bush. There were just a boat load of people here. It was a most excellent visit. The displays were very well done, even with the crowds, it was possible to take in much of the museum.
We will be back.

Wife and I took our two young daughters here while at Texas A&M graduation. The facility is amazing. Building and grounds are kept in immaculate condition so great for pictures.
The content was great as well and clearly aimed at all age groups. I was impressed at the number of exhibits that my kids found interesting. Staff were extremely friendly.
They also have a 22 minute video about President Bush and his family that was extremely informative and moving.

While in College Station, this is a "must do". Regardless of your political bent or beliefs, it's a fascinating view into President Bush's tenure leading our country. And for me, it was a refresher and deeper look into many of the events I lived through during those years.
I stopped and read everything so we were there about 4 hours. But you can also "skim" and spend a whole lot less time. (I'd say 2 hours minimum.) There's a gift shop, places to sit throughout the museum if you get tired and many interactive displays.
We live in DFW and I've never been to "W"'s museum but after visiting this museum, it makes me want to take the time to go through it (and other presidential museums) as well.

The George Bush Library and Museum is on the campus of Texas A&M University. It is a thorough examination of President Bush’s life and career.

This Presidential library nicely sums up the man who was George H.W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States of America. It's like walking the timeline of his life, starting with a brief bit of American history, his parents and early life, meeting Barbara, fighting in WWII, his wedding, early business and then life in politics. The displays are fantastic. My 7 year old found all the war, espionage and information on Ronald Reagan's assassination attempt a bit overwhelming, and had to leave. If I'd known in advance about Mrs Bush's literary area with library further on in the museum, we would have taken her there. However, my son and I wandered through the rest of the exhibits. The audio tour was great. No food or beverage options on site, but we hear a restaurant is earmarked to be operational by 2020. Also note that the only restroom is in the foyer, after security. Neat little gift shop too and the surrounding gardens are gorgeous.

Excellent! This is one of the best Presidential Libraries I’ve been to. So well done, informative, and interesting. I had forgotten how much President Bush had done in his life. Docents were very knowledgeable and pleasant. You will enjoy

If you like to visit Presidential libraries I would recommend this and definitely take the walk out to the burial site for the President and his wife Barbara. They also have their young child (Pauline) buried there between them.
The price is very moderate being $9 per adult $3 per youth. They do offer a discount for seniors and military members ($7 each). The volunteers and employees who work here are very friendly and helpful. Luckily we visited there before the virus hit because I believe they are currently closed because of the epidemic.
The Museum offers a great walk through the life of our 41st President. It offers a lot of exhibits and videos so you can get the full experience of journey to becoming President. Learned a lot visiting this place and even if you don't agree with his politics I think you will enjoy the experience this attraction has to offer. The amount of artifacts on displayed is impressive (over 100,000 artifacts this Library & Museum contain).
Hopefully this place will open up soon so the public can enjoy the life of George H. W. Bush who became our 41st President.

I have taken the grandkids to visit four Presidential Libraries and the George H.W. Bush Library remains our favorite. It is easy to get to. The presentation of the exhibits are made very interesting for even the grandkids to enjoy.

We spent a few hours touring the museum. They did a nice job with the exhibits. Great memorabilia and a chance to visit the Oval Office and Bush’s living room. Take time to walk outside to the gardens and burial site. Delightful way to spend the afternoon. We lucked out - on the day we visited the US Postal Service were unveiling President Bush’s forever stamp.

I have been to 6 different Presidential Libraries, I would rank this one 4 out of 6. It was mostly about his family and life before president. But, worth a visit.

5th place of 5 presidential libraries I have visited. Carter and Reagan number one Nixon very close to those JFK down a notch FDR down another and Hw Bush equal. But all are b+ or better and worth the visit. Lots of history and fun facts H.W. shot down 3 times!!!! In WW2. Not through lack of skill. Youngest pilot in navy at 18

Visited the Bush Library/Museum. Lots of History of Bush Family and Gravesite of Barbara, Robin and President George Bush. Beautifully displayed everything from vehicles, wedding dress and airplane. Plan to spend time reading the historical life time of President Bush and his family. I am not a history buff but my husband is and there were things of interest for both of us. Wear good walking shoes because the gravesite is located outside behind the Library and it is a good distance to walk. Beautifully landscaped and very peaceful!

I wasn't sure what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I learned a lot about our 41st President and his family, values, and life. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in history and even recommend to those who are not.

I love this museum. There is a lot packed into a relatively small space, and frequently introduce new exhibits. I also love that there's a space for children and an area to just chill for a few minutes.

I'm politically neutral, and this museum was touching, educational, connecting, and emotional. Several times I was stunned to learn something, like GB was a spy, handling the photographic intelligence gathering, which now makes sense why he gravitated to the CIA later. I also never knew why Barb aged so fast... now knowing the story of losing their baby girl Robin a few short years after her birth, you can see the attractive, vibrant, strong woman before, become worn, tired, aged, and broken but still strong woman after. I had a deeper understanding of GB and Barb's love for each other and the sense of values they instilled in their children, something I hope that I have done in my life as a parent. I loved the paper that looked like GB, after his governmental assistance from being in the military, that showed GB paid $475 to attend Yale (if I read that right). The story of GB's plane going down and miraculously he was safe, AND just so happened to have a film photographer on the ship that rescued him. At the time he was just another pilot being rescued, but that boy would later be president, there are no coincidences in life! The museum was full of normal pictures not just press pictures and told the real story of a man trying to do his best by his family and his business, and later his country.

Does anyone know if there is a list of what is planted in the Barbara Bush rose garden? Something smelt fabulous at the gazebo, and the beautiful tall grasses name?

We have made a point to stop at each presidential library if we are in the area. This one is very well done. His political life is well documented however they spend lots if time sharing about his personal life. Which is pretty well known. Its beautifully done and the walk to the gravesite is beautiful and not over done. They were rich people but not over stated. We spent about theee hours there

We expected to like it because we like him...but we had no idea how wonderful this museum would be. A very thorough tribute to a very full life of service. We came two hours before closing and that really was not enough time. Well done!

This is an outstanding tribute to a fine man and his family. I thought I already knew much about Bush 41, as he was the first presidential candidate I ever voted for. The tour includes much about the family, which was clearly so important to the President. The only thing missing is a substantive presentation of his and Barbara's funeral services... America showed up at both to express their appreciation for their life's dedication to serving this country. It would be fitting to capture those sad moments as well.

The George Bush Presidential Library and Musuem presents an excellent story of President George H. W. Bush’s life chronology beginning with his early childhood and parentage, and carrying on through his college life, Pacific War experiences, business experience, his political experiences, and his public service after leaving the presidency. His life story is also balanced with First Lady Barbara Bush’s life story displayed alongside his at each stage of her life and their life together. My wife and I were there for about 4 1/2 hours, which was an adequate amount of time to see, read, and reflect on President Bush and Mrs. Bush’s values, service, challenges, life experiences and contributions to the USA. There is not a restaurant in the museum, but there is snack bar in nearby The Bush School of Government and Public Service building.

We were here in Dallas for a weekend visit to Magnolia. We stopped here on Sunday because we have so much respect for this president!! We loved walking through the library and reliving some of the huge events this president lead our country through. Such respect for the man and the leader of our country. We stopped at the cafe for a delicious lunch before we headed out!! Really yummy!!
A wonderful collection of GHW Bush's memorabilia.
We spent a wonderful day at the Bush Library in College Station. The architecture is stunning as are the grounds surrounding the library. They have a new wing adjacent to the library that houses the Marine One helicopter and the Union Pacific #4141 Bush Locomotive. The exhibits are very informative and well presented.
