I have been to very nice hotels all over the world. This hotel charges high end hotel rates for a low end hotel experience. Beware!!

I rented two adjoining rooms so my Grand Darlings great grandfather could enjoy visiting with his 2 year old great grandchild. I was given one wrong room on check in. Once this was figured out, after two trips to the front desk, I was told to return to the front desk to rectify their mistake. In high end establishments, the keys are brought to you when it’s the establishments mistake.

We ate in the Mexican Restaurant, again exorbitant prices for mediocre food!

I needed to have late check out. And, after paying $400.00 per room, I was charged $50.00 for late checkout. High end establishments don’t charge for late checkout.

I ordered room service. The eggs were horrible. When a two year old spits out scrambled eggs, you know they are bad. I tasted them to be sure. They had some kind of powder on them. Nasty!!

And, the pool area was like a huge Spring Break Party. Not a place to bring young children. Several hookers were escorted out while we were there. Disgusting!!

Bad food, bad service, & substandard rooms are all reasons to stay elsewhere when in Lake Charles!! Save your money!! I only stayed here because that’s where my Grand Darlings parents were staying & I wanted things to be easier when it came to babysitting my Grand Darling.

I will never stay here again on my own or recommend this place to anyone. What a joke.

Went in June 2021. It all feels run down. Rooms were dirty. I ordered room service and the dishes sat outside my door, where I left them, for 2 days. Hairs in showers & bathtub. The gambling was fine, except I was never offered a drink at roulette or the slots. Elevators have broken panels, which expose wires - I am sure this is against some sort of safety code. Pretty junky these days, hope they get new management involved to bring it back to its previous standards.

This place can be compared to the Casino in Las Vegas. It is nicely decorated and kept clean at all times. It offers a good selection of restaurants from Mexican, Italian, Asian and American cuisine. It has also both a coffee shop and an ice cream shop.

Picture perfect balcony view from our room! Hotel & Casino staff courteous & professional. Enjoyed the lazy river and the pool, very relaxing. The Bar & Grill on the beach is a must, nice scenery & gr food. Casino, you win some-you loose some, we were there to have a good time not to get rich (would have been nice tho, lol). Will definitely be returning, can’t wait!

No, it wasn't me but my guest. I was still excited for her and we really enjoyed the Golden Nugget. The staff is cordial and accommodating, games are abundant and drinks were great. My ONLY complaint is that smokers are everywhere and the next day my sinuses were a mess but we had a very nice visit. We'll be back even though we drove (from Texas) 3.5 hours each way for a 3 hour fix!

Trip was disappointing because the slots I were paying never hit much and I played for 3 nights. My previous trip was lots of fun. Massages we’re great with Austin & Ursula. Pedicure was great with Casi. Vic’s was great and drinks were great on Friday & Saturday. Now Thursday the drinks weren’t good. Thursday night it was so hard to get drinks on the casino floor. I feel sorry for the staff because they are so short staffed but they are doing the best they can. They are working very hard. I was disappointed when I got home I noticed my comps dropped from around $900 to 139. I called to make reservations for New Years the prices were quite higher I guess bcuz of the Pandemic.

It's the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles Louisiana. Yes, it's the highlight of the area. There may be a slight discussion if the L'Auberge is better in some aspect however, the Nugget is the happening place to go. Outdoor pool fun and hot tubs are great place to meet people and relax.

If you are into the club saying, The Blue Martini Club inside is a happening place Friday and Saturday nights. Thursday night if you like country. The Rush Lounge is no admission charge and has a good band as well on the weekends.

Really enjoy the valet parking at no cost!

If I had to State a negative it's that the drink prices are expensive and not very strong... pre-drinking required :-)

I love this resort. The rooms are great, pool fantastic, grounds beautiful, but the casino is SMOKY! I’ve visited many times since it opened but this visit was definitely the worst. I was unable to play as much as I intended because I kept having to move to a different location searching for a place where I could tolerate the cigarette smoke. I was unable to find that spot so I had to leave.

Food is just ok. Nothing I tried was seasoned very well and for the price in my opinion it isn’t worth it. Taste like the food was poured out of a can heated up and served

3 of us visited and stayed 2 nites. Hotel has very nice rooms, great restaurants, had a lot of fun gambling and won mucho $$$. 3 hand pays and a huge nite at black jack! Been coming here for 2 years now and love it every time except when we loose at gambling :( . ..Service is exemplary and even love the smell when you walk in! Lauberge is next door so you can trolley over there if you are not having luck at the casino in Nugget. Nugget has nicer rooms and better overall quality,

Always fun, good food, great shows, and fun play.
The pool area is nice and clean. The beach is fun and the beach bar serves good food.

Ice bar
Jessica Austin is fabulous, always. Makes the best drinks, soo friendly. We make a point to go by and have a drinks with her every trip.

Good and it had just opened at 4 that afternoon, so first people there and it was quiet. Then went on to game for the night. Fast service.

If you are not lucky you can loose your money like any Casino but
this is a pretty nice spot great eateries and shops in the Nugget Casino area

By pivonye |

Went with a group of friends. The casino is large and always busy. There are several bars in the casino. We went to the bar with a live band. The crowd was nice. For people that gamble, the minimum bets go up on weekend nights.

By Stan H |

Very easy check in! I had a free room and was upgraded to a suite for my birthday for free. The room very nice and spacious overlooking the golf course. The casino wasn't to busy. Was there for two days and never seen anyone winning including myself. They have lots of eateries here. Stan H.

This hotel is superb, the pool area is to die for with its own lazy river. Lots of restaurants inside. Bar on the small beach

By OnAir19143734505 |

The outside area was the nicest part. Our room was disgusting. The shower still had hair in it. Used Kleenex, used dental flosser and just dirty beside the bed!

By txmmoore |

The first thing you should be aware of is the Casino staff is SLOW. Waited in line for almost 30 minutes to cash in $100 worth of chips from playing blackjack. There are 5 windows, and 2 of these are designated for special guest. The other 3 windows were typically manned by only 1 person. Come on, you have 20 people in line, and you are only going to have 1 or 2 windows open for service? Enough to make you not want to go. The 24K select window was just as bad. What the Nugget should do is have a window specifically for new accounts, and another window for everything else?
The able stakes are $15,$25,and $50. Never, AT ANY TIME, were the stakes less than $15. Not that it matters, but if the Nugget had a couple of $10 tables, it would make things better in my opinion.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED my room and my stay! The Atmosphere was friendly and relaxing, the food was good, and I got some much needed rest. I will be returning for more shopping and dining.

It's going down fast - the Hurricanes and Co-vid haven't helped. Free Valet is gone and now high-priced - Buffet has turned into a sports book. They have changed the comp levels. Due to the pandemic lost thousands of comp dollars. Also due to the nature of my work, I am away for extended periods and the change machines don't give change only vouchers. Then stand in line for extended times. They won't make good on vouchers over 90 days that you take home and forget. So cash out everything at the cashier area that has now a rope line finally. Previously it was line jumper city and if the line you were in had a complicated transaction you could be there for a while.

The drink service has improved but it takes a while after ordering to get the drink. Recently couldn't track down a server.

Side note restaurant with many open seats with hour-long waits - There were few customers seated. It was apparently poorly managed.

By Brad C |

If you want to be treated like a second class citizen visit the poker room! I put my name on the list for the ONE TABLE hours ago and guess what? I am lower on the list than when I signed up! Fantastic! If their policy is to allow people with “higher status” to jump the line that is fine but they should let somebody know that is their policy. To say nothing of the fact that my money is just as green as “higher status” money. Basically if you are interested in playing poker you should find a different casino.

By JeanSta |

The casino staff is great! A big shout out to McCall Shirley. She is an awesome server! She always knows my drink of choice and I never have to wait.

By JKTexas |

Slooooow Service. Rookie server. 11 minutes from the time the server took my credit card until he returned it to me.

The food was good

By Lance C |

Beautiful facility. Reminds you of Vegas. Slights are really tight. Lost $1000 in less than one hour playing $5 per spin. Very few wins obviously.

By Anita D |

The Buffet was good as always. I would like to see more vegetables on the Buffet .
Our waitress Alex was great.

By Anna B |

Hard to criticize a casino when you walked out a winner (small one, of course). Fairly good ventilation system but that doesn't mean much if you sit next to someone who waves their cigarette in front of your face. Blackjack tables on the weekend we were there were $15, $25, and $50 (if you weren't in the high roller section). Dealers were pretty good--only had one that kept making mistakes. Drinks are complimentary while you're gambling like in other places. Can't say anything about the other games because we parked at Blackjack tables the whole night.

By Martinmanvel |

Hotel is the more expensive the casinos in the area they’re gaming tables are very expensive and their service on the casino floor for drinks. It’s horrible, particularly in the morning when you’re looking for a cup of coffee I was pretty much flapped off by the waitress saying she couldn’t help me with coffee because she was too busy.

If you’re going for a show, the show space is very good.

If you’re relying on the shuttle to go between this hotel and the one next door, good luck.

By Keith F |

They need to teach their management how to speak to people properly and how to handle a situation because talking to people, unprofessional and pointing fingers in peoples face is not how you do it

By Yolanda B |

I had a great time at the GN. Cherryl Rather (my host) is the absolute BEST! She genuinely cares about your needs and goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy. She is one of the reasons that we continue to bypass others and head straight to the GN!!

Been in a lot of places the Golden Golden has a good share of people that make excellent supervisors and managers. People that each run a network inside a larger one and good at it, friendly, polite , smile, know your name, say good morning, good afternoon and good evening. One person and known her since I first stepped in the door, Ms Michele Higginbotham, polite, always has a smile to warm the day, helpful but still takes her job seriously and professionally along with the people that work around her. She makes sure the rules and procedures are followed to the letter, some people may not like it but she didn’t write them just ask to see they are followed. Anyone not understanding that must break his or hers on company’s rules and produces apparently. Golden Nugget is a comfort and family type place with the people that are employed there love visiting and seeing all those who work there day and evening.

I have been here numerous times, however it wasn't to gamble all tho it is a casino but so much more. The daily Buffet is wonderful but the casino has a multitude of nice restaurants and small shops. I have gone to alot of concerts here for various entertainers. The scenery is beautiful as the casino sits on the calcasieu river. Who knows you might even get lucky and win a few dollars in the casino where alcohol is free as long as you play the machines. Just be sure to tip the person who brings your drink to keep them coming back often. I usually tip a buck.

By Thrall77 |

The Golden Nugget Casino is the newest to the area. The casino has a variety of slot machines, and various tables games. No traditional Texas holdem tables were observed. The Casino also offers a variety of restaurants, and shops. The Golden Nugget Casino is worth a visit, and is located next to the L’auberge Casino. L’auberge offers a free shuttle to transport you to either of the two Casinos.

Great fun! Casino was remarkably clean and well lit! Staff was helpful and spent time with us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We felt appreciated.

By Beverly M |

Golden Nugget is usually the cleanest but they didn’t have enough of the cleaning staff working so very disappointing the slots were hardly wiped off and toilet paper was low in hi limit. Now Vic & Anthony’s was great and Mike is always great. They do social distance at casino and restaurants but not at the pool or lazy river or the elevators. The slots are so cold the last 2 times I have been here so I don’t know if I should go again or look for something else. I was so disappointed. Not fun just throwing $$$$$ away and nothing paying.

By DJC824 |

The Golden Nugget asks for your opinion, just doesn't respond to it! -

The service at the tables and slots was horrible! If the Casino is that short staffed, they may want to consider giving drinks away at the bar. It was ridiculous. The time also didn't matter. I was down as early as 6 AM only to have to almost beg to get a cup of coffee. I can't tell you how long I waited.

Next, you can smoke in the Casino. I was at a blackjack table and lit a cigarette. I try to be respectful of everyone including the dealer and put the cigarette behind me. I also don't blow smoke like a chimney. The dealer who is wearing a mask ask me to move my cigarette rudely btw because of the smoke. So, if I wanted just to leave it in the ashtray I couldn't. I have never been asked by a dealer to move my cigarette. I don't know the ladies name, at that point I was extremely irritated.

The only thing that makes my review of the Casino a 3 is I won! Even that was a challenge. I was not really told anything (like wait here) or you can go play or whatever. I only knew I could keep playing when another worker told me. It took 30 minutes and that was at 7:30 - 8 am. At least I won right!

I hope they have more help next time. Also, a few more tables open would be nice.

Yes, nothing in Las Vegas is like the '80's and '90's, let alone the '60's and '70's. The Nugget is still the best of downtown. The worst part of every stay [ I'm there several times a year] is the rudeness and horrific service from valet parking. 77 minutes on the phone to call for a vehicle. Still no answer. Some of the doorman and bellhops I've known for for over 20 years and they are truly outstanding. My host at the Casino, Joe Reda is a gentleman's gentleman. I used to know him from the Venetian and he's really been welcoming at the Nugget. I started staying here when Steve Weinberg ( His father changed the name to Wynn] owned it. Of course it's gone to hell, and become very corporate but so has all of Las Vegas. The service is still fabulous yet the dope smoking, power drinking youth have taken their toll. The 'Adult' pool was so filthy with beer and urine that it was impossible to go in the water. However, the same is true of most "Party" pools everywhere in Vegas. Yes I'm 67 years old, yes I do expect class, cleanliness and great service. I was shocked that there was no maid service on my room on Sunday, however I had received an extension on my stay Saturday night and mistakes happen. I remember when downtown was a trash hole, I remember when Wynn cleaned it up and it was phenomenal and now it's getting run down again, security problems everywhere and yet I still go and the Golden Nugget is the best of downtown.

Casino was nice but was very disappointed that they removed the Craps machine. Talked to an employee as to why they did this and was just told that they replaced it with another Roulette one.

By Rochelle S |

Unprofessional employees in casino and zero customer service. The bathroom was beyond DISGUSTING-stunk and no hand soap. Some of the dispensers were broken and wouldn’t work even if had soap. Ate at Landry’s and will never eat there again. My fried fish was swimming in grease. Our bill was through the roof.

So my husband and I took a short weekend trip to Lake Charles from Houston. He had a meeting Friday afternoon so we booked a spa day for me while he attends his meeting Friday afternoon. The day before we came I called the spa and asked if I
could have my services moved up to the 11am slot that was available, they agreed and said I was good to go. So Friday morning I make my way down to
the spa and the woman at the desk tells me I missed my pedicure and massage at 8am. I assured her I called to have my services pushed back.
She then told me I only had my manicure moved up. They worked with me to squeeze my services in, so I proceeded to get my pedicure at 11am and was
told I would have to come back at 2pm for the remaining services. I was a little annoyed with the whole situation but I wasn’t going to allow that to
ruin my mood. So I signed and payed for the pedicure and made my way back up to the room to call for some lunch while I wait. I call room service
and order a sandwich and drink, the woman asks if my husband is in the room with me, I told her he is
not, that he is at a meeting. She told me since I was not added to the room reservation that I would not be allowed to order room service unless he was in the room with me. Mind you, I spent nearly $450 in
the spa WITHOUT my husband present. So why can’t I order a $8 sandwich? I pleaded with the woman because I didn’t have any money on me to
go down and order food somewhere else. She basically told me I was sh** out of luck. I even told her he was my husband and that they could check my ID to confirm that, still she refused. So after the mishap with the spa, NOW I can’t even have lunch. To say the least I was extremely upset/hangry. I understand that these kid of businesses have regulations they are required to follow, however when my husband and I were checking in the front desk lady could have, and in my option SHOULD have, asked if I would like to add my name on the room so that I can order room service in the event I need to. I have never had this kind of thing happen at any hotel I’ve stayed in, even in Las Vegas. So this is my warning to you, make sure you put your spouses name on the dang room. Although your spouse is more than welcome to spend hundreds at the spa without providing any additional information.
You’ve been warned.

Cheryl Rather, Host at the Golden Nugget is wonderful, exceptional asset to the Golden Nugget. Her smile and enthusiastic personality keep me coming back. She is a great problem solver, attentive, and listen to the players needs. She is the Gold at the Golden Nugget. I feel blessed to have her in my life. 🩷

Had a blast. It was my first time! Nice atmosphere and great eatery places. Nice machines. Great people!

We were staying over at the dump they call the Inn at the Isle. Made a trip across the lake to the Golden Nugget and what another world!!! Has a Salt Grass Steak House inside, specialty shops, kid attractions at the pool. The place is beautiful inside/outside and spotless! We will be staying here on our next visit to Lake Charles!

By Sereatha M |

We had a sensational time the concert was amazing. Hadn’t seen her concert in over 25 years; she was just as incredible if not better than ever. Wouldn’t have known she was 75 years young, until she said; she still interacted with the crowd, heck she kicked her stilettos off into the crowd then walked off the stage to greet audience it was a fun night. The venue was small so glad the people sitting next to me didn’t have body odor that how close together we were, especially since it was chilly out most had on coats and jackets which did make it a little cramped but I am still glad we went. Will come back to concerts in the future.
The casino was nice we don’t really gamble but we enjoyed people watching.

By LeadvilleGal |

Great casino lots of fun. Not too busy on the weekdays. Easy walk from the one next store. Lots of shops and places to eat.

By John W |

It’s a casino, you put money in and hope some comes back. They allow smoking so be prepared to smell like an ashtray upon your departure. No welcome from security at the door and no one came by offering drinks. A few of their restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

By Marissa B |

I NEVER am so mad that I write reviews... but this place... I’ll never pay $500 a night for a room again. Upon checking in... it took 30 minutes, staff member that checked me in was rude. Get up to the room & there are hairs all over the white comforter, there are only 2 towels in the room, when I showered I lost hot water & water pressure after about 2 minutes. Tried to call to order room service for 30 minutes with no answer. My boyfriend finally went downstairs to order 1 thing & it took them an hour and a half to get it to him. If you call about questions or anything, the phone will just keep ringing & transferring you to an automated page then you make your selection & it will just keep looping you around. This place also just felt unclean, there were a couple used bandaids in the hall, several large stains on the carpet. Also they charged my card & my boyfriends so I called to get assistant with that & once again, Rude. I told her the whole situation & she just sits there and doesn’t respond as she’s typing. Screw this place. I’d rather stay in a motel 6.

I always have fun at this hotel and casino. I have visited the other casinos but this one has bees rooms, pool, and staff. So much amazing hospitality. The food was great, the drinks flowed, enjoyed casino during the week. I am elderly I much prefer the week to the weekend here. It is much easier to navigate during week, you can get cocktails and find your machine , no wait. It is as close to Vegas as you can get for a short trip. They will take care of you, Louisiana people are so warm and welcome.

I go to the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles frequently and eat at Claim Jumpers. I want to comment on a wonderful hostess named Darla. She always has a smile on her face and she goes beyond giving you great service. She truly is an asset to the restaurant.

By Ann-Marie G |

This place is absolutely beautiful and worth experiencing. I want a fan of the casino because it was way too smoky. The pool was STUNNING! Bring mosquito spray :)

By Miscdon |

We enjoyed ourselves...but would have stayed longer if it were not so smoky. The drinks were good. Service was comparable to other casinos.

By DonJH |

$600 for a suite that look like it was decorated by a Musketeer. The picture on the wall was a picture of a shower curtain. What's that about? Who thought putting a soda fountain seat in the room was a good idea? The bed was a rock, as were the pillows. Why do they put the parking 1/2 mile from the hotel? Never again.

Brought the kids to Lake Charles for Spring Break from March 8 to March 10! The weather could have been better but the kids were still able to spend time in the pool. They have an awesome Lazy River. Hotel is nice and clean. It’s a good time if you want gambling close to home. I’m from Texas.

By Dustie F |

Very corporate feeling, ate at the salt grass, had better food/drinks in other restaurants of the Same franchise in other towns. No service on casino floor and seemed like no employee was happy to be there. Not one hello, welcome or even a cracked smile.

By FlavioQuednau |

Just wanted to thank Teresa Holmberg for making my stay one to remember. Teresa went out of her way to make sure I had the best accommodations and the best service. I was very impress with her dedication and professionalism towards the Hotel. Thanks again Teresa.

The casino, food choices and hotel rooms are all set to make you comfortable and right at home. It has become a regular stop of mine as I travel through. As with most casinos the meals can feel expensive but the food for value is very good. Drinks on the floor are free and the rooms very comfortable. Parking can be self or valet and ground level or parking garage. Concerts are upstairs and priced reasonable with many top entertainers passing through.

By Randy H |

Rooms are way over priced. Had dinner at Landry’s and it totally sucked. I would have rather have a TV dinner.

Now for the casino- terrible selection of machines, chain smoking and no winners unless betting a 100 a pull. No vibe and rude staff. I’ll
never go back. It’s that bad.

Slots are super tight and Delta Downs way way better.

Tillman you should fire your managers and start over!

By dixie1Nonly |

They are just not the same. They are trying but most of the GREAT things are different due to covid 19 and the hurricanes. The people in the casino are evidently workers in the area to repair infrastructure. The town is devastated to the point of making your heart ache!
The rooms we were out in were the worst ever as far as the view and accessability. Guess all the other rooms were occupied long term.
No valet, screenings over and over again. No waitresses. just bad...we wont return until possibly 2022......

Great food and great service! Jordan was personable and attentive. All working there were friendly and taking great care of the customers. The food was very delicious!

I went to the Golden Nugget Casino this weekend and I hated I had to leave. Most of the blackjack dealers were alright. However, I went the day I was leaving and a relief dealer named Jaresa made me want to return and win some more cash. She was beautiful, nice, and very friendly. I would love to talk with her again.

By Julie W |

I come here a lot. Currently here for a two night stay. Last night while playing in the casino 75 % of the casino shut down. No power to the machines. An hour and a half later and after the people sitting at other machine around went to seek out answers we were told a breaker was blown and they had no idea how long the slot machines would be down. They said we will take your 24k players card number and give us your name and come back tomorrow and go get the money you had in the machine from the cashier by showing your ID and 24k card. I understand things happen beyond your control but communication would be a great idea!
It’s now 11:35 the following day: the casino slots are all lit up but they aren’t allowing anyone in there. I would like to retrieve my money! Again, I get it things happen. I’ve talked to five people and no one can tell me how to get my money once I leave today!!! Communication is vital in the hospitality industry!!!! This is not acceptable. People want to know how to proceed. Do leave or stay? How can I get my money back? Oh and hire people who know how to warm food at Starbucks because my food o requested warmed is cold. Going to pack up and not stay tonight!! I hope you’re letting arrivals know the gaming area is closed! Shake my head! I expect better from this and all Landrys establishments. You set the bar and man did it come crashing down!

By John Finlay |

the beautiful rooms, exciting casino, wonderful restaurants, all combine to make the overall experience EXCELLENT!

The incredibly nice people make you forget that you lose money in the casino, and make you want to return frequently!

By Samantha Adams |

Tonight has been the first time I’ve been to the casino in months. My last visit wasn’t so great but I am a firm believer of giving things a second chance.

I walked into the casino and was greeted by security. I chose to play in high limit tonight just to try my luck. Although the tables got the best of me, I was treated with such kindness and the service was impeccable. The table supervisor Karmecia was such a huge help and had great energy. The cocktail server Leeza was great as well. She was on top of her area, although I don’t drink she constantly came around and asked if everything was okay or if I needed anything. Great Energy from the dealer and those two ladies.
Little things like this will make losing not so bad. I will be coming back to the nugget but hopefully next time with better luck!

GNLC REVIEW
I love GNLC but it’s unbelievable how cold the slots are to a person that plays all evening & night till morning but I notice people that just walk up on one put 100 or 2 can win like crazy. I play in the high limits 98% of the time and it’s hard to get a drink. Then I’m trying to figure out 2015-2019, I would get suites a lot and they didn’t even have the new tower yet and I remember when Merle Haggard was there it had to be the biggest weekend at GNLC and I got a suite and you couldn’t even hardly get a slot machine in high limits to pennies bcuz it was probably the busiest time I ever seen at any casino in my life and I always see a ton of slots open all the time the last couple of years so I can’t figure out if your trying to get rid of your good customers bcuz every time I like a slot it’s gone soon. Also, this trip it’s about 3am no one around so I’m playing 2 slots and I turn my head for a second and some jerk starts playing my slot machine and he knew he didn’t put cash in it and he told me your playing that one so I’ll play this one so I confronted him by myself because no security or slot attendant around by the back wall where the crazy Asian slots are so I’m beginning to wonder what I should do because I had several weird situations with people walking up like that so I don’t feel safe anymore. You put your service light on and no one comes up. Is GNLC trying to get rid of your good customers bcuz I like a safe environment. And now I notice everytime I come my comp bucket is emptied out for my charges and first few years it wasn’t like that. My free play & food voucher goes down every month and I play like a crazy person which is way too much. My room this time had big mold spot on shower door and the outlets on the lamp don’t work and on the wall where the booth was only 2 outlets worked and I don’t understand every time I come I add my husband to charge to the room but they don’t do it bcuz he tries and this happens over & over. The VIP that you call for help isn’t as helpful this trip either.
Now on the positive-
My massage at the spa was great as always from Ursula.
At the Vic’s bar, Brittany was excellent and Patrick is great waiter & bartender. The food 90% is excellent it’s one of my favorite places to eat.
Now I’m wondering why can’t you get a good drink in the high limit bar.
The lines at the cashier cage is just unacceptable.
No security at the elevators is unacceptable at night & early morning because that is dangerous.
Now Someone needs to take care of business at GNLC or if you don’t watch it your gambling customers are going to move on. GNLC use to be the BEST of the BEST at all these things I listed. I hope this helps get you back at being the BEST.

Everything was amazing! The food, service and experience all exeeded expectations. Yvonne made our visit especially special and gave us the attention and help we needed. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here regularly.

The Golden Nugget Casino is in Lake Charles about a 2 hour drive from either New Orleans or Houston. Las Vegas is a 3-4 hour plane ride from both so Lake Charles has some advantages but it is not Las Vegas. Having made that clear this is a very nice casino. Lots of gaming tables and slot machines. Even on peak Saturday night when the place was really jumping you could find a place to gamble. It is connected to the hotel and there are numerous Landry's restaurants in the hall ways just outside the casino. Inside is a lounge, Rush 46 which had live music Saturday night. A very good cover band was playing. Just like Vegas, drinks are free when gambling. They have a rewards program called 24K. Every time you play you either insert your card in a slot or give it to the dealer and you get 3 points per dollar spent. When you achieve a higher level you are awarded some perqs. We had a lot of fun on our weekend getaway and we plan to return.

So this is our 4th concert in about three months. I just gotta say the sound sucks. Kris was good when I could hear the vocals. Their speaker placement is basic and not designed for music or the guy on the board isn’t listening to what the audience hears. Anyway don’t be surprise when you go to a concert here.

Oh ya. The machines are tight.

By talal ahmed |

The view was great from the hotel. The gambling was not that fun but spending the time in the hotel was great.

By Kevin L |

Outstanding views/ hotel as well as the beach they have connected to lauberge. Not to on the gambling side as I have family with me but most restaurants are amazing but Lillie’s is by far my favorite

By Becky W |

We thought the casino was very nice, but between the club in the middle and the machines all being so loud, the noise level seemed super high!! Definitely an upbeat casino and lots of gaming options. We enjoyed our time but wished we could have turned some of the games down.

By DReynolds |

Large casino similar to what you would find in Las Vegas. Lots of restaurants and bars. Entertainment meca.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the smokers. Your clothes and hair will smell like smoke.

By Joe M |

The hotel itself is by far the best hotel in the Lake Charles area but with only one other competing against it what's the challenge right? Well to name a few - The rooms are nicer, the smell of the overall place is better, the staff is a little nicer and the casino floor is a lot more spread out.

If you're not looking to spend money or just have a chill weekend then this place isn't for you. You have to go here knowing you will either make money or lose a lot of that green.

Came to celebrate my birthday with the family and had one of the best experience. Easy and fast check in. We ate at the buffet restaurant and our waiter was so awsome. She went above and beyond to make sure thar my daughter was comfortable and happy.

Thanks Lindsay, H.

Ths casino is well kept. Constant upgrades to keep it looking great. I have had to ask for an extra hour several times and they are very good of adding and hour. The rooms are very spacious and well decorated. Check in is good and if they make a mistake are willing to give an upgrade. I highly recommend.

By heb12345 |

We ate at Viv and Anthony’s before the concert and once again the food was amazing.
We all enjoyed the concert and then did a little gambling. No wins this time but we enjoyed our time there

By Winston S |

My wife and I have visited the casino previously with no problem. We drove from Brenham, Texas, which is a solid three hours. My wife is a forty year old Dominican citizen. The casino denied her entrance since the driver's license reader would not read a Dominican driver's license. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. We didn't realize that the Golden Nugget discriminated against foreigners. Very disappointed.

By Lovetotravel720 |

Love the casino! Has a great variety of restaurants... saw a show and the whole place is great!! Reminds me if casinos in Vegas.

By Amy L |

Such a beautiful resort, worth every penny. So many restaurants, shops, pool, spa, and the casino is fabulous. The rooms are gorgeous. Highly recommend the Golden Nugget Lake Charles!!!

By Marv L |

Four couples went for a trip, first time for all but two of us. Lovely place ( Rooms are much higher than Las Vegas) Food was great, staff in the restaurants and Casio was fantastic as well.
Problem was , I have asked two time for them to email a folio for my room.....One was not sent at check out. Called on a Monday at 10am, said I would have it in 30 minutes
At 7pm, still did not have this. Called back, was transferred to front desk 22 minute wait, called back after wards, another 18 minute wait. Why is it so hard to get a copy of your bill. Not have a receipt and knowing your bill for several days is very
irritating!

By TammyTravelsTheWorld |

The Golden Nugget and L'Auberge are only minutes from one another. Both are not great, not horrible (except the L'Auberge had the Norovirus epidemic while we were in town so we avoided it for a second night). I wouldn't travel to Lake Charles to gamble again but we travel everywhere for a good casino and this just wasn't one of them.

By Melissa B |

The hotel is easy to get to. The amount of games to play are abundant and the waiters and waitresses come around very often for drink requests. I would recommend this casino.

By yayho |

Loaded with slot machines of all denominations. Lots of progressives and a multitude of multi-line payoff machines. They also have a substantial amount of video poker machines. Not many table games open during the day but picked up at night. Minumum I saw during the day on a weekday was $10 bet.

By Dianne H |

Two cashiers (1-all transactions) and 48 people in line and currently standing in line for 35 minutes with 10 people to go. We won't return! Either lose all your money or Fly to Vegas people!

By Bakersp |

You can’t beat this place for glamour. Wish more restaurants and shops were open during the day, though.

By awashington8 |

Great place to relax moderate to expensive. Restaurant are all very good but Claim Jumpers' service is extremely slow. The rooms are very nice.. It's my favorite place to stay.

By VegasHopper |

I’m writing this review not because our visit was perfect, but because their Slot Manager called me when I emailed them my concerns. Excellent customer service from the gentleman. So, they’ve won me back and I’ll continue to visit and work with them to try to improve the customer experience. Most of the issues we experience really do seem to relate to constraints in hiring, retention, and contracts for various equipment. I suggest when we experience issues that we first email them directly. You can easily find their contact information by just Googling it. So, please, continue to visit this beautiful facility, but be politely vocal when you have issues. By the way, the quickest way to get assistance is to flag any employee, even a Dealer not involved in play to ask for help. I appreciate the callback Golden Nugget.

My wife and I decided last minute to head out to the Golden Nugget for a trip there and back. It was her first time gambling at a Casino. We arrived @ 8:30 p.m on Feb 24th, no problems finding a spot to park. Walked right in with no issues. There was plenty of help asking us if we needed anything, drinks, etc etc. We gambled for a few hours and decided to get something to eat. The restaurant had good burgers, nice and clean place. There were a few drinks left laying around on the casino games. To me the customer is lazy when it comes to picking up after themselves. Its not anyone else's job to pick up there mess nor does it give them the right to be pigs and expect for staff to clean up after them. Overall we had a great experience! We won some money and lost some. I believe that was due to our lack of knowledge on the games. Would recommend the Golden Nugget to anyone that wanted to get away on a vacation or a quick night out. Left @ 1:30 a.m drove back to Houston. Traffic was a breeze!

I am a players card member, but not one of the "elite" ones. I spend a lot of money in the casino and recently took it upon myself to complain to management about the $10 fee for valet parking. I am a semi invalid and need help unloading my electric scooter to use in the casino. I was asked if I was an elite card holder and when I said no, she said that I had to pay the fee. I have a disability and an not able to unload it myself. I always tip the attendant for helping and would not mind giving them the $10, but not to the casino, who in my opinion makes enough money. It doesn't seem fair to punish someone who needs this service due to disability. I was given no consideration by the person I spoke to regarding my complaint and I will be taking my gambling money elsewhere.

By Nikki H |

Room was really nice. No cleaning service due to COVID but you can get extra stuff if needed. Restaurant service at Vic and Anthony’s was also good.
Casino floor was hopping. Only 3 people at table and limits start at $25. Several slots have plexiglass between machines or machines are turned off with no chair.
Overall think they are doing well. One comment is when they wipe down machines, they need to spray rag first then wipe down machine. If you spray directly on to machine the liquids are sleeping into machine. ( basically like spilling a drink on your phone or computer). Cause the machine to glitch. And has to be restarted and wiped dry.
Overall great time

By Rebecka H |

First time to actually get to go gambling with more than 60$ in my pocket and i had a blast. I didn't win big but i only played the slot machines and i did win 170$ off of a 20$ bill i stuck in on the 3rd spin. But of course i lost it. Lol

We visited here for the first time last weekend for my Dad's Birthday and we had such a great visit. The hotel room was very clean and cozy and the room service breakfast was delicious! We also got a cabana and really enjoyed the pool area and our hostess. The staff around the hotel was very friendly and welcoming and we truly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back!

By Dano1946 |

Have not been since before the hurricane great as usual. Room outstanding. Clean safe. One of our favorites.

By Bailey A |

We are residents of Lake Charles so visit the casino here and there. It hurts to pay the $200 room fee for a week night, living two miles away. We don’t get any comps - I guess we don’t lose enough money to them. Yet we rarely win anything. It’s a beautiful resort and a perfect pool. Hate the smell of smoke through the entire casino and outside of casino. Also, hard to get a drink at any of the slots. If you go to the bar, you’re charged. We prefer lauberge casino, golden nugget pool. Golden nugget also has better restaurants.

By TexasTravelBabe |

Although really crowded on a Saturday night, there was really good service and all the employees encountered were friendly and helpful. We enjoy concerts at the venue and this trip saw Foreigner. Hope this band returns again, we saw them last year at Golden Nugget Lake Charles and will certainly return again, should the band return.

By williamdF7267MO |

Love this casino, great layout. Only draw back is they need more up to date and progressive $1 machines.

By Bambi |

The Casino was nice, but the machines were not lose at all. The staff was not very friendly and we could never find anyone walking the floor to even get a drink. We also waited nearly an hour for an attendant to fix the slot machine.

By Billie K B |

better service and cleaner than lauberge, but if your room is comp, your not a priority. but very clean rooms

By Debby213 |

At the tables the minimal bet was $10, there was no $5 tables at all. .We enjoyed the atmosphere more at the L'Auberge Casino, which is a mile from Golden Nugget.

By Traveling Sister |

We enjoyed the Grotto bar and oven fired pizza. The views from the back of the casino were great. I loved sitting out on the beach with the fire pit lit. The bar was nice out there too. There is a nice boardwalk to walk up and down to see different wildlife and nice boats. Casino was fun they had drawings for winnings every hour and then every 15 minutes. The video poker bars were great and had very good service. Everyone was friendly and the lines went quick at customer service. There are a lot of nice shops and restaurants through out the Golden Nugget. We will definitely be back and will want to stay here.

By Robert F |

I was in the area for a training and decided to visit this hotel / casino. It really is a resort atmosphere. The wife and I chose to stay here for our wedding anniversary. The staff was great!! A beautiful place. It was an awesome experience. Their are great dining places right there. There are shops etc. The suite was an excellent experience! Awesome place to visit.

By Mario D |

We're made a reservation for a family get- away. We arrived on time and our room wasn't ready. We waited over an hour and a half and our room still wasn't ready. The casino staff did nothing to help accommodate us. We ended up leaving and going to L'auberge next door. We're haven't been back to Golden Nugget since that incident happened. The staff at L'auberge is much better and much more professional.

By Anonymous A |

Definitely dont play casino here! You win BIG they won’t payout and threaten to ban you. Management told me i can continue to play and as far as chips, they wont payout if i win more. BS!

By Shirley |

I booked a room with two Queen beds, as we were hosting our granddaughter and her husband. When we arrived, we were given a room with one king bed. Chaos ensued as we were promised an air mattress due to the hotel being overbooked. Hours later, no air mattress was available. (3 phone calls and 1 1/2 hours later, we finally received extra bedding - for the couch - for one person.) Our granddaughter slept with us!

We have gone to the Golden Nugget since it opened, several times each year, and we must admit this is the first time we have ever had any problems with the room. We wanted to show our grandkids a great time, but this experience put a damper on the trip.

We have hope that this will be the only time the Golden Nugget will overbook to such an extent that there is no ability for them to recover. It was very disappointing when we were so excited about going, but hope that this never happens again.

By Al G |

I can't rate this a full 10 only because some of the restaurants were not open during our period of stay. We stayed 6/14 - 6/16/2023 my rating is on the staff especially Billy Breedlove getting us the room and me a tee time. Then because it was our 55th wedding anniversary a big shout out to Zoe L. Duplechain VIP concierge at the Golden Nugget. I had some special requests and between Mr. Breedlove and Ms. Duplechain they made it happen. Thanks guys and yes we will be staying again.

By jgmiller2018 |

The purpose of the visit was to attend the Jonny Lang concert. I do not think that there is a bad seat in the auditorium. The Golden Nugget was very crowed as I suspect that it might be most Saturday evenings. Made reservations at the Grotto an Italian restaurant. Food and service were excellent. I had an opportunity to visit the craps table for about 30 minutes prior to the concert. The dealers were indeed competent but be advised that the minimum bets incrementally with the people in the gaming area. Had a wonderful time.

The Golden Nugget Casino is definitely a nice place for visitors with very nice rooms and many restaurant options, but it has gone downhill in offering perks to regular customers since its' initial opening year. Multiplier events used to reward upper level players with 3X and higher point accumulations on Tuesday; now everyone regardless of level gets 2X points. The 50+ Rewards for older players has been cut back in what was offered. Gifts to regular players in the upper levels are now either reduced, or in some cases none-existent. It is also the most difficult of the 3 Lake Charles based casinos to play at for any length of time on the slots. Should you wish to leave the casino floor for some drinks, you may or may not find the Blue Martini opened as they often change their times...and the prices have increased. You can now get better casino perks at either L'Auberge or the Isle of Capri.... without having to obtain or maintain a high level of play! Even rare trips to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi will get you free rooms for multiple days, free slot play, meal vouchers, and tickets to special events. If you are from out of town, stay at the Golden Nugget for their rooms but play somewhere else!

By deedle821 |

We had a great time! The room was clean and so was the casino. We went on a Monday and left on Wednesday. Our only complaints were that they didn’t have enough cocktail waitresses as we had to wait quite awhile for our drinks. The slot machine tickets gave us all problems. You’d receive a ticket and it wouldn’t work on any machine so you had to take it to the cashier or the machine wouldn’t give you a ticket and we would have to wait for an attendant. One time we waited for 45 minutes. That certainly kills to mojo!

By Lisa G |

Thanks to Destiny & her manager for saving us when our room was accidentally canceled bc it was under my sis’s name but she couldn’t come at the last minute, we drove 3.5 hrs to get there & on top of that they were sold out. They reinstated our room & we’re super nice about during the process. Thanks again!

Beautiful rooms, wonderful food, great drinks, awesome pool area. I can on & on about this place. Let's just say i absolutely loved it there!!

By Mister T |

Went to the Golden Nugget for guys weekend and had a great time and our server McCall was to thank for that! She was personable and professional and made our time awesome!

By Jonette |

We are regulars at the GN and when possible, we make certain our favorite cocktail server( Kodie) is on duty. She knows exactly what we want, and makes certain we have it. She always has a smile on her face and makes us feel so welcome. Winning is great but losing is a lot less annoying when you have someone on staff always keeping you smiling. Thanks Kodie!

Four of us lost at almost every machine or table. So we ended going to the casino next door and did a little better.

83% TIP ON A $79 CHILI DOG AND LONG ISLAND. Just received an alert 2 days later that my credit card had been charged more than what I wrote at the draftkings bar. Never going back.

We had a great time in the casino. It was loud and Smokey but clean and staff were friendly. Our hotel room was luxurious. The rooms were quiet and cozy. I felt very safe - I noticed Hotel staff and security were on point and responded to an issue brewing with another couple on our floor before it became an issue. I also was very impressed with the friendliness and recommendations of the staff working in the stores!

By cajunfun |

We had some time to kill from our business conference down the road. We had money burning a hole in our pocket - so we decided to give a donation at the Nugget! They are nice, clean and the slots are easy to move around. Didn’t get a chance to eat here this time but the food is really good throughout the casino/hotel area. So if you are in the area and want to make a gambling contribution - why not pick this place to do it!

By Eric_Ernst_Photo |

Great place to stay, everything was nice , only problem we had was they would never clean the room , we allways had to call to get the room cleaned even though we were never in the room except at night. Stayed four days.
They did comp some for the mistake.

By Dave S |

just saw the stylistics. the sound, i thought was terrible. the mix wasn't professionally done. My comparison would be HD video compared to tv from 20 years ago. All the voices were muffled and sounded as they were all on the same track. No distinct or crisp sounds from performers.

If I knew ahead of time that there were two separate stylistic groups, I would not have gone. I know things happen over the years, but that's just me. I did not think the new young lead falsetto singer was good.Certainly no Smokey Robinson. His voice went from high to tenor in the same phrase and just sounded bad to me. Their choreography was nice. rate them a 6 out of 10

The seating arrangement and chairs were a disgrace to a concert venue, especially if there are heavy people sitting on either side.

I won't go to any other concerts at the Golden Nugget.

By VegasDan |

I stayed at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles recently.

Positives: the hotel, casino, and room are nice. Generally, the facilities are top notch, and comparable to casino resorts in Las Vegas.

Negatives: I feel that a lot of the staff that are customer facing let the property down.

Example 1: I checked in at the kiosk, and was assigned a room that was not made up by housekeeping yet. Hauled all my luggage back down to the front desk to seek a different room, and was met by an indifferent front desk person. She did not acknowledge that the mistake made by the kiosk was an inconvenience to us, and after typing away on her keyboard for a minute or so, informed me there was no room ready and they will text us when ready. She did not offer to have bell person take our luggage. So we had to haul all our luggage back to our car to wait for the room.

Points for improvement: Train front desk personnel to acknowledge mistakes made that are inconvenient to customers, even if not the front desk person’s fault. Front desk personnel represent the resort and should be more proactive in service recovery issues.

Example 2: Day 2. We were out of our room all day, and returned at 4pm. Surprised that housekeeping has not serviced our room yet. I pressed the housekeeping button on the room phone, and was greeted by “resort services.” I asked that our room be serviced. The resort services person said she will call housekeeping right away.

Two hours later. Still no housekeeping. I called again, and after explaining that housekeeping has not serviced our room, the person answering the phone asked “What do you need? Towels, what?” I said I need housekeeping service. She said ok she will call housekeeping. One hour later, still nothing.

At this point we are quite annoyed. Decided that at the end of day 2 to cut our trip short because we have a messy room, no clean towels, no shampoo. Called to speak to a manager. After being cut off a number of times, an “assistant manager” answers. He acted surprised that housekeeping has not serviced our room by 7pm. He did apologize. But I told him to check us out as our stay was no longer enjoyable.

Points for improvement: When a customer calls for housekeeping service, that should be acted upon promptly, especially in the late afternoon/evening time when it is clear that a mistake has been made in not delivering the service.

By ttrosc2 |

Our first stay at the Nugget in Lake Charles didn’t disappoint. We had a great time gambling even though the table minimums were slightly high. The food and drinks were on point!

By Ravi K |

During a recent to Lake Charles with two of my friends, did want to try out this place. Free parking in their garage (the spots are not numbered and you may have a hard time finding your car if you forget the level number).

As soon as you landed on the floor, the cigarette smoke was slightly overwhelming. Quite a selection of games and denominations. And yes, could have better odds for its customers. Did look like slots area was a little congested; I believe that the customers would definitely benefit from a more expansive area. Also provides customers better privacy.

Regarding the smoking situation, could definitely have asked for non-smoking areas. Did not find any mention about its existence.

By txmmoore |

I have been to the GN casino several times. First, it amazes me on how fast they will raise table stakes when you are playing. I have never sat down for more than 15 minutes at a $10 table, only to have them raise it to $15 or $25. I know i'm grandfathered in, but you walk away, you are now tied to the new rate. I guess these are modern times, but I just think the Casino would be better off with a few "low priced" tables for those who are beginners are just there for a few hours of fun. Casino Waitresses are not bad, they do sometimes get over-taxed and slow down, but all-in-all, they are pretty good. Slots are not very loose, but a good penny slot will keep you busy for awhile. Their players club needs a little attention in my opinion. I bought in for $500 on a BJ table and played for about 2 hours. Cashed in $400 and I only received 400 points on my players card. So, I figured it was the $400 I cashed in. So, I went to a Crap table and bought in for the $400 and played for 3 hours, cashed out for about $1200. Guess what? Sill only had 400 points. So, what do you have to do to get more points? The world may never know.

By Albert W |

Beware of the bedbugs!! I woke up with bedbugs all over me. Glad I didn’t bring the kids. The bedbugs were all on the padded headboard . The management said they found no evidence of bedbugs in the room. The staff saw them for themselves So that means nothing was done about the bedbugs infestation!! I’m never going back

By tampa200 |

My husband and I went down to the Golden Nugget, he was playing the tables I was playing the poker games when I went up to the bar to play the poker game there while he was still continuing to play at the tables I was never treated so rudely in my life. People are surrounding me who had their masks off, drinking laughing. and I was reprimanded because my mask wasn’t on while I was having a drink. I have never been treated so rudely. Trust me will never enter the Golden nugget ever again.

By Desiree G |

Bring your money and your A game, you will NOT be winning unless you are spending! We did go to a comedy show here and it was great. Did not star\y in the hotel, the prices are out of my budget.

By Jaime T |

The hotel and casino weekend is always fun, but it's a bit of a let down when the room cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The rooms were nice in size and layout, but under every sofa and chair were left over pieces of previous guests stay (crumbs, socks, etc.). The bathtub wasn't cleaned when we arrived, nor during each day's cleaning, and behind each door were hair, toilet paper and crumbs. The cleaning crew at this hotel needs a lesson in detailed cleaning.

Go for the casino, but don't expect your room to be very clean.

By Getaway752129 |

we love going to the restaurants and sitting by the hot tub in the evenings. the fire is great. landrys rocks. fun table games and slots. our favorite place is the rush lounge on a monday or tuesday when it is not crowded, but there is a band

By VegasHopper |

Since our rooms were comped I’ll try to write fairly. Room 744 had an excellent view of their extensive pools and lazy river. The room and bath were very clean. Which included a tub, separate shower, and large vanity. Bedding was clean and very comfortable. No refrigerator. The coffee maker coffee pad basket was missing, but promptly fixed when brought to their attention. The safe did not work but would have required us being in the room to repair during our stay. So, we made do rather than delay our plans. There was some ventilation noise during sleep time, but this is not unusual for us during our numerous stays at other casino resorts. Gaming was decent, although at times geared toward the higher spenders. Staff were courteous and efficient. Our checkin was easy since we arrived early but be prepared for a little delay if you arrive during the rush around 4:00PM. Overall, a good stay at a decent establishment with several great restaurants adjacent to the casino.

By rtsright |

Overall stay was Excellent. Had never been to the lake Charles casino and it hit on everything I needed or wanted. I did not use the pool and plan on doing that next time
Food was well prepared and service exceptional. You never leave
hungry. Well balanced delicious foods
The hotel was spotless. Plenty of people willing and able to assist us with anything we needed

By Shadowninja |

We stayed here for a wedding. It was wonderful large room and very clean. Hoping to visit in July for anniversary!

By Denyse P |

Our first time visiting and we will be back! Very clean and super friendly staff! We enjoyed the swim up bar and lazy river was our favorite. Had dinner at Ember and the food was amazing.

By zmik |

Absolutely love this hotel! It is very clean, all staff are friendly and engaging and the room is amazing. I always check out the bathrooms when we travel, this hotel has a luxurious bathroom. I'm old so it matters to me lol

I cannot say enough good things about the staff, every where we went we were greeted with a friendly person. We asked for extra coffee for the room, they were on it. Very polite in taking my request and then followed up to ensure it arrived!

Food is amazing at the Buffett and in room service is provided from the Claim jumper, also excellent food!

Two reasons I didn't go with 5 stars, one is the distance from parking to check in to the actual room. I am handicapped so our first day was a loss as i was wore out just getting settled into the room.

The other reason, the slots are very tight. We weren't looking to hit a big win, but we weren't prepared for the lack of pay outs. At some point in a 3 day stay you would expect to not have to hit the ATM every day, that was a first for us. Other casinos we frequent we are able to play on the money a lot longer.

None the less I would still recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

By Craig H |

Been to the Nugget at most locations. So disappointed with the cashier service, bouncers inefficiency and the level of play, I’ll probably be looking for another casino group to try since they have been the worst service I’ve seen in many years.

By debra l |

I am Golden Nugget in Lake Charles biggest fans the buffet is amazing the greatest place to eat in the world if you have any problems you can talk to the management at gas Services everything will be taken care of they took very good care of me when I had a little problem they are the best very very very professional they make your stay as you a king add a queen thank you my number one vacation spot

By Traveler435449 |

It’s difficult to see how anyone can rate this hotel as 5 star. Getting my room serviced has during this trip proven to be quite a quest on 3 days with repeat requests and even a visit to the duty manager.

As for the lady at the Cadillac restaurant reception desk tonight she could not have cared less about the customer. Shame on you and despite free tables insisted there was a wait list for tables........I walked away and went elsewhere as simply I was stunned by the lack of customer service.

Yes it does have its interesting parts and there is a better service level in the top end restaurants but frankly is it worth the price?

By Crawfish |

A group of us went from work and gambled for about 4-6 hours on Sunday the 7th.
We’ve never won much money there but it was a very cool (temperature) place due to the extreme heat outside so we stopped cooled off and the once again began our journey (we were riding motorcycles in over 100 degree weather).
We are played and then departed.

Great casino with a fun vibe! Lots of action and plenty of good restaurants in the hotel. A mini-Las Vegas with all the slots and table games you could want. We would definitely go back for a weekend trip!

By Allyson M |

We enjoy this casino because they keep it clean, they have a lot of new and different machines and while it can be crazy crowded, if you time your visit, it won't be too bad at all.

What a GREAT Casino to visit! Don't worry about the rest of the Casino's, this is where you want to Stay and Play. Great Servers, plenty of drinks, Plenty of machines, I Highly Recommend this Casino! I wish I could get some free rooms and I would go back tomorrow! Forget the rest, This Is The BEST!

Food is good but costumer service bad but the water slides are good recommend the steakhouse but the hotel eh

By Judy W |

In addition to the great casino are great restaurants, a gorgeous pool and lazy river. There are even cute places to shop! Try it!

By DaNitaKB |

I am from Lake Charles so every time I visit there I go to The Golden Nugget. It is a nice place to grab something to eat and then enjoy the slot machines and tables. Although I have never won a big amount I always come away with more than I had when I got there.

By Karen L |

Great location overlooking Lake Charles and the shipping channel as well as the i-210 bridge, ask for a spa room with a balcony looking over the river, very beautiful.

Stopped in here on a Saturday night and the place was *packed*! This casino looks like the Las Vegas version on the inside but it's much larger. The dice table I was at (the only one I could get on) was cold so I didn't stay long. Overall a pretty nice atmosphere but pretty loud inside.

Not really a gambler so i went to the bar in the middle...... Was a live band playing.... Good vibes..... Older crowd...... Its not much to do in Lake Charles so i got a little entertainment here

We lost all comps due to COVID and not coming back within 12 months. They now only clean your room every 3 days so hang you towels up. Rooms were dirty and slots were dirty.

Would have been more enjoyable if it was non smoking! When your a non smoker the smell is horrible! We won’t be be back as we are non smokers and we reap of cigarette smoke

What kind of sushi restaurant runs out of yellowtail, escolar, and octopus??? All they had was eel salmon and tuna and it wasn’t fresh…… They didn’t put eel sauce on the eel and after asking for it he came back 20 min later after everyone was done and said I’m sorry I forgot……

So I have stayed at the Nugget in Vegas and paid full price for the nicest rooms, and have stayed several times at the Lake Charles property both comped and full price...currently staying at $179 a night, had a $200 lunch at Landry’s, a $300 dinner at The Grotto, spent $200 at the pool today, have a $300 Cabana reserved for tomorrow, have dropped a significant amount in the casino, and to make a long story short...called all day long (4 times) for 4 pillows and finally my wife went to complain at the front desk, their response...sorry you never got them, we’ll send them up...but for $20 per pillow...are you kidding!!! We have stayed at 4 Seasons, Ritz Carlton, every major casino: Wynnn, Cosmopolitan, Caesars, never in my life have I heard such a thing...SHAME, SHAME, SHAME...i’m a Landry’s Select Card holder, a 24k Premier holder and a very seasoned traveler...if I dont get some type of response from management im going to post on every travel website possible...seriously...Tilman and management, get it together!!!!

Walked up to security at Casino while waiting for table at restaurant with son who is 20 years old. Were detained and ejected from the property for "illegal attempt to enter casino". This is for showing his ACTUAL ID at security. We were kicked out, banned and treated like criminals. Crazy town!

By Cathy |

Tillman Ferr-tight-wad should loosen the slots! It is not an enjoyable experience playing those machines. It’s like feeding your $100s into an alligator’s mouth. I’m happy to lose $1k at Choushatta because I do get to win more there and it’s a fun experience.

But there, machines are rigged to oblivion. No winners picture wall, nothing…. How greedy can you get?

We can party there, nice property and gamble at Chouhatta from now on.

Front desk experience was excellent the staff did their best to arrange close proximity to each other. We always go to Vic & Anthony's for a wonderful dining experience. Food cocktails wine list is perfect. They have an excellent Spa always get first class treatment. Stay away from the pool area because it's just too many people in a public pool for me. We always go to the Chart House for the second night that we're there, but it is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Where not to go food is terrible at Landry's and food is even worse at the Cadillac Bar if you have to have breakfast at The Claim Jumper that's okay but we generally go over to the restaurant at L'Auberge for breakfast. If we time it just right we can grab the Chart House for our lunch before hitting the road home.

By Katina W |

We decided grab something light to eat before our dinner reservations and decided to stop at Lillies. We ordered the house salad and the orange chicken. I was very surprised at the portion sizes. The salads dressing was very tasteful and the orange chicken had just the right amount of sweet and spicy kick to it. This is a must try if your at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles.

I visited this Casino for the first time in March of 2018. Had an Awesome experience and would definitely return...

ran out of hot water, credit office not
open can’t gamble , can’t get coffee, phone doesn’t work , try to book massage but gave up after 21
minutes on hold , get in at 6 pm but room still not ready

just stay home

Excellent service and good variety of entrees and desserts.Easy access to the VIP area and carving station.

By aileeni618 |

Always pleased with the rooms at the Golden Nugget, we actually think that this one is way better than the Las Vegas one! Nice swimming pool with a swim-up bar, fun lazy river, beautiful golf course and restaurants galore!! Was a little disappointed that we had no water between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. but it was not that bad. Landry's never disappoints and had the best chocolate cake ever from Claim jumper, it was actually 15 inches tall!

By William K |

This is a fun casino with lots of games and machines and restaurants and gift shops and everything you would want --- but be prepared for very, very, very tight slot machines. I don't expect to get rich or hit the big-time when I play slot machines, but I do expect to win something -- 50 cents, maybe a dollar! They should re-title the gameroom the Golden Nada.

By Jak Z |

Same slots just like every other casino.
My only objection was $10 valet parking Sunday thru Thursday. ( Higher on weekends). Casino next door is free valet, just tipping

By Vincent C |

This is not the first we encounter dirty room. The last time We stay at the Villa. The bed had lots of hairs on it!!!! And lots of mosquitoes in the room. Horrible! They only have two of the big villas. We stayed in the one with the connecting room. I though they would do better after the complain, but no, it is even worse this time. They give us an unclean room. The toilet has poop and pee stain every where. Bread crumbs under the desk. They didn’t even wipe the desk clean.
House keeping and hotel management is so Unexperience and careless.

Do not recommend to stay there.

By Ronda H. |

This was our first visit to this casino and we really enjoyed it. I won in the first spin. We found the machines paid out quite well that day. Would recommend going when in Lake Charles, La.

By allie754 |

We have eaten at every restaurant in Golden Nugget! Great atmosphere all around, and great choices to eat at. The pool and Cabana’s are nice also!

By Valerie N |

We had a wonderful time spending 2 nights at the Golden Nugget. The room was wonderful and the pool area is like an oasis. The vast selection of restaurants is a definite plus!

By Teresa B |

We paid the price for meet and greet and great concert tickets. We were supposed to have a meet and greet and poster signings with other goodies. The entire production was disorganized. We were told to be there at a certain time and then told to wait, then come back. There was no signing of any posters, which we were told we'd get, and the meet and greet consisted of bumping fist, taking two snap shots and herding us on your way thru the line. Not my idea of meet n greet. They explained that our photos would be available in a few days.....checked today and We are not in the Gallery. Wasted 780.00 for Nothing. Also, as much as I love the band, I didn't appreciate the solo saxophone, and him pulling his mouth away, and the sax was still playing. I expected a REAL CONCERT, FOR THE MONEY WE PAID.

By AGMG2 |

I admit I was hesitant about going as I am not a huge gambler.
However, they offer so many other activities it was a blast!

Check in was super easy and quick. We did have to switch rooms, as the phone didn’t work as we tried to call bags up, and ours wasn’t very clean. The room we were moved to was soooo nice and smelled clean and fresh. Even the hallway smelled cleaner! :)

The restaurants were not all open yet with COVID, but there was still enough to choose from. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time or they will be completely full. Missed getting to see live music there with Covid ... looks like amazing set ups!!

The pool is really nice! It’s Super big with a pool swim up bar, as well as a separate lazy river area.

Another area has the hot tubs, and an area also has the fire pit area.
By the “beach area” there are really good burgers and shakes! It’s fun to watch the ships go by!

The spa wonderful with many options on facials and massages.
Golf is also available at the resort!

By ILuv2Dive |

Less smoke in air than other casinos. Friendly staff. Rooms are over priced on weekends. Video poker seems to pay out fairly.

By Ocean_Rover_Blue_Wat |

Great casino in Lake Charles. This place is huge and offers it all. There are several really great restaurants in the facility.

By Ray C |

Top notch Fertitta property. The service, food, casino and staff are great!! The POOL is AMAZING with a great swim up bar and live entertainment.

By JWJ |

Beware Pool construction closure. Reservations doesn’t let you know prior to booking that the pool and swim up bar is closed. No frozen drinks or good food options unless you go inside and get take out. What you do get is Jack hammers loud pounding noise and rudeness from certain staff.

Pool towel manager needs to be retrained or fired. She’s totally miserable and wasn’t interested in assisting with a problem involving a wrist ban and poor signage. Wal mart is hiring night time restockers a much more appropriate position if she doesn’t want to be Hospitable in an industry that is designed around paying guests.

Justin the other manager was excellent in his position. He offered several options to eat apologized for the miscommunication. He has an obvious talent and panache for what he does.

By Dew D |

I really have fun in this place is my favorite!! The area is big have so many slots machines I want to try them all!!!

By JenniferR |

By far love this place more than lauberge just cleaner. Although I do like lauberge casino floor better because I feel more at home I love all GN restaurants and pool!

By Tnewmark73 |

EVERY single time we go to the GN there there are no servers on the casino floor.. it’s absolutely crazy !! 5 hrs and one drink !! It would be a great idea if they had a beer bar set up like at the neighboring casino… and the one waitress I had obviously doesn’t like her job … hotel staff are always rude and seem not to care about their guests concerns…

By Beverly M |

Golden Nugget is an Amazing place. My husband & I love Golden Nugget. I love the food. I love the restaurants. Most of the time I like my drinks in the high limit bar & the Ice Bar But I wish they would carry Mango Ciroc I am sure a lot of other people would drink it too. This time the carbonation on the sodas was just not right in the casino. I loved the Tanya Tucker concert. Slots are getting better not so tight so I’ll be back for sure. The valet & bell hops were on top of it. Checkin went very smooth. The Belgium waffle at Grottos was really good. Vic & Anthony’s was real good both nights that I went there. The room is always nice. Ursula gave a great massage. Checkin at the spa was good. The ice bar drinks were good but I still wish they had the mango Ciroc. I went out to the lazy river it is just so relaxing & beautiful. Cedric is a great host.

By thomh235 |

The Golden Nugget hosted the Doobie Brothers in concert in their event room and performed to a packed house. Our seats were up close so our view was excellent, however, there are no bad seats in the room. We had a wonderful evening and the tickets were very affordable. Please note: The questions below do NOT apply as this was a concert at the Golden Nugget.

By pbruney61 |

Stay the wknd in Lake Charles at the GN. You’ll forget where you are. Great resort. All the restaurants are delish. The pool is amazing. And a nice white sand beach on the property. Lots of entertainment on the weekends. If you want to venture out, it’s near shopping and another Casino.

By Luis A |

I've never stayed at the one in Laughlin and I don't plan to simply because, where's the hotel? 90% of the building is parking structure. Where the eff is the hotel TOWER with a view overlooking the river? Is it one story tall? And if there is no hotel with great views of the river, why charge so much per night?? The parking structure, which takes up 90 percent of the physical business, has better views. I will never stay here. Build a hotel tower and I might consider staying.

By Jennifer U |

Love hanging out here! Food is fantastic, shopping is luxury and casino is fun time! Enjoy a date night, concert or pool experience.

By awesome c |

Very nice hotel and restaurants. Spent the evening in the casino. Cocktail waitress Amber was very friendly and prompt with our drink orders. We will definitely be back!

By GNAC-001 |

In hindsight, Golden Nugget is on the Landry’s card. Most of the Landry’s restaurants are on sight- Saltgrass, Cadillac, Chart House, etc.

Evening table dealers are not only competent dealers- but they are typically fit and better looking than the average person. This is even before I had drinks!!!

They had an exceptional band playing- excellent female vocalist, excellent male singer on keyboard. The rest of the band played very competently.

Bar prices, slightly higher than most bars - to be expected in a casino.

Recently had another wonderful stay at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles to celebrate my birthday with my sister. It was an amazing trip, from the friendly and accommodating staff, great food, relaxing pool area, and of course the best casino in the area. Can't wait to go back there with my husband in October.

the rooms are excellent, very clean and the restaurants have a variety of foods. The swimming pool is a great place to relax.

Enjoyed the many choices of penny slots since visiting with my 92 year old mother. She was thrilled with the machines that awarded multiple free games with incurred winnings. Her $20 investment brought her hours of fun!😎

By integrator1 |

Very clean and well staffed. Large variety of gaming options. Friendly staff. Comfortable environment. We had an excellent experience.

By Christy M |

Fun place to play, clean friendly environment. Machines pay out so you can play a long time without breaking the bank!

By Monica4260 |

In Grottos for dinner, ordered 2 Lasagne.
We were served lasagne noodles with a somewhat tomato sauce. Minuscule amounts of meat(less than a 1/2 teaspoon) and cheese (less than 1/4 tsp). Less than warm temperature. And having eaten there many times, awaited the “grated Parmesan” question from server. NEVER happened!

By droddy112 |

Only stayed one night and had dinner at a restaurant on site...would go again. Great place to gamble and shop it seems.

By kforney |

Food should be served hot. Room amenities are not on par with other properties at this price. Shabby and Cheap decor. Smoke smell throughout property.

Love this place. We stay here regularly when we do travel to the casino. They have good restaurants with lots of choices.

All I can say is Cherryl Rather is the best!! Above and beyond any host in the business! Such an upbeat attitude and willingness to listen.
I had given up on ever finding a host at GN that would actually introduce themselves to me!! It was all text messages and no responses to requests…..that was until I met Cherryl!!! Thank you Cherryl for hosting the player next to me who introduced us!!

Stayed the night, Christmas night 2021 at Louisiana Golden nugget. Paid a premium price for the night.

A few minutes after midnight awaken by a dog barking. Yes barking. It continued, called down to front desk. Said they would have security look Into it.

1AM dog still barking. Again called and sent security.

Dog continued to bark till about 3 30. Don’t know if dog was tired or if owner showed up.

Visited with manger upon check out and total that convenience dogs are allowed
There is not a designated area for guest with dogs to be placed in the hotel so scattered about.

Asked if I inquired if there a would be a dog in the floor when I checked in harp they said they could not tell me.

When they went to the room, no answer so the Convenience dog someone needed was left alone for hours while out of the room.

In other words, it was being boarded by the hotel for a period of time.

Not aware if hotel asked for documentation of service animal.

Manger later sent an email saying over a six month period, I would be comped a room Sunday thru a Thursday night. This is when room rates are much lower than what we paid on Christmas night.

By Mr B |

I am at this casino monthly, if not more. I go at the same time, every time so.I have the same cocktail server each visit. Kodie knows me by name, knows my order without asking and also checks to see if i have brought my driver, or not. She goes over and above. She always has a kind word to say. I hate it when she is not working high stakes because the service is never as good as when she is taking care of me. If you visit GN, look for Kodie. She will take care of you!

By Kandace H |

Wow! Our recent trip to GNLC was amazing!! Our host, Cheryl Rather always goes above and beyond to make sure our stay and needs are always met! Cheryl is always available for any questions we have and just adds that ‘special’ touch! We attended Cheryl’s Birthday party at GNLC and it was super fun, made us feel like important guests of hers! And my husband even won one of her prize giveaways! If you’re in need of a host we highly recommend Cheryl, she always makes us feel like a friend and valued patron!

Very nice atmosphere, nice variety of games and slots available. Limits are reasonable, drink service is quick.

We stayed at the Golden Nugget twice within the last month. Both times for concerts one there, and one in Baton Rouge (long drive but it was the weekend of the LSU game).

Rooms are nice, very clean, not luxurious but comfortable and tasteful. We stayed two nights this last time with one night comped. My complaints- service and food related. One late night option, the Claim Jumper Grill had the worst pizza and club sandwich imaginable. Another night, Lillie’s served me lukewarm won ton soup. And why they don’t have another option for tea/coffee besides Starbucks I’ll never know. I had to wait in a loooong line twice on a Saturday morning. We also bought chocolates and two macarons and I had to throw my macarons away. I swear they were old. And stale. Lastly, I asked a lady who looked as if she was a supervisor of some kind where the cashier was in the casino. I had walked to the 24 Select desk by mistake, and when I was looking around she walked by. When I politely asked she never broke stride and sort of halfway pointed. I said I’m sorry where is it? And again as she was still walking away pointed vaguely. Wow. I didn’t realize it was such an imposition to ask a question. Fertitta, I think you can do better than this.

By Spraygun |

The casino is very nice. Drink service seems get better as the evening wears on. If you play slots though, bring a lot of money. I realize it takes a lot of money to keep this nice place going. But it is painful to just lose everything you put in. every time you visit.
Other than that.....go for it.

By O K |

We are Regular Players at The Nugget... They always treat us well
and our Experience always Leaves us very Happy..
The Food Choices are Great, and the Casino is The Nicest in LC...

We left on a whim to go and try the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, LA. About two hours from our home in Clear Lake we arrived at the casino and were anxious to see all about it. This place is very pretty and loaded with restaurants and things to do. There were at least 5 fine restaurants, 3 or 4 bars around and shops selling just about anything you can imagine. Our room was oversized (that is the norm here) and well appointed with a 55" TV, king size bed, a small breakfast table, safe, huge bathtub that sits almost in the center of the room, hidden only by a sheer curtain. We had an 11 story balcony overlooking the swimming pool and float pool. How nice this area was. We had a chance to eat at three of the restaurants, Vic & Anthony's, Cadillac Bar and 24 hr. snack bar that served a lot more than snacks. The casino area is huge, full of probably three thousand slot machines, lots of blackjack tables, crap tables, poker tables and roulette tables. A dimly lit, but lovely, casino action area. We rate this property right up there with the finest hotels in Las Vegas...no kidding.

By eduardo l |

The hotel is OK the service is good but they should inform me that the day that I was there they didn’t have no water at the rooms they told me the city pipes were frozen but I was on my honeymoon and I think they should’ve told me before

By Elias Y |

I've been Golden Nugget twice in the last couple of Months and my girlfriend always receives comps for rooms and I haven't received any and we spend the same amount of time on the slot machines and I have spent more money and won a jackpot but still nothing. I am going back but I just wonder what is the deal with only her getting rewards.

By Brandon C |

Very good atmosphere very eye appealing from the outside. Love the free drinks and staff is very attentive. The slots are a bit tight but it’s hit or miss it’s gambling. Restrooms are very clean. All the slots I played all the buttons worked so that’s a plus for me. Will definitely go again overall a fun time.

By Richard M |

Nice place for gambling, of course is not Vegas but we enjoyed a lot the diversity of slot machines and the games tables, I think we come back as soon as we can.

By Nettie L |

This is an excellent facility. The hotel was great. The casino was fun. The water activities were excellent. This was a great getaway close to home with the Carribean vibe. We will consider this location for future events. Excellent. Most of the staff was outstanding but with all things you will encounter one bad apple. Overall everything was superb

By Oemor S |

TWO weeks ago my wife and I heard people complaining about guests staying in rooms overlooking the pool playing rap music after hours and loud enough to be heard throughout the pool area. Now on the eve of the 4th of July someone I’d basing out rap music again and smoking stout weed. Twice we called the front desk, nothing is done about it.

By Marky Mark |

First, one of the reasons we came was to try out Grotto’s, the Italian restaurant at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles. Well, it was closed on a Wednesday along with Cadillac’s. So, the only restaurant that was appealing was Landry’s. Don’t even waste your time eating here unless you just want drinks. We sat at the bar and the service was good as it should be at a bar until the bartender broke a glass and 2 shards hit me in the face. The manager saw it and said nothing. The bartender was freaking out so much I barely got an apology. The food was terrible which I blame on the cooks. I thought Landry’s was supposed to have outstanding seafood. Oysters on the half shell were watery, char grilled oysters tasted like dirt, boudin balls didn’t have any flavor, and the bourbon pasta tasted like the noodles were thrown on the floor and put on a plate. I’m done with Landry’s.

By Sabrina W |

If I could give a zero here, I would. I am very unhappy with the cleanliness and service at this hotel. I stay here a lot for business, and this was the worst experience ever. Our first room was dirty...crumbs and dirt on floor and ottoman, stains and drips on the bed frame that made me gag. The 2nd room smelled like a thrift store, 3rd room smelled like someone had just exhaled a cigarette, which made us want to throw up. We were just moved to our 4th room, and quite honestly, it's the lesser of evils, but still not the cleanest.

In reference to the service, no one offered to move our luggage (might I add, it was 4 times) and was not offered an upgrade. The managers name is Justice....and I feel Justice was not served here!

By Bryan G |

Wonderful meal, fantastic service and lovely atmosphere. Drew our server, had a quick wit and hilarious jokes. He was a treat. Will definitely return. Thanks!

By Beverly M |

Great place, the valet, bell hop, Checkin is good. The spa is good I get a 80 minute massage from Ursula & Austin both are very good. The lazy river is great. The food At Vic’s is very good and waiters are great. Lillie’s is a little slow and food isn’t up to par as usual. Starbucks is slow but good. Concerts were FANTASTIC. My host Cedric is great. The slots were really cold. Everyone is so nice except for the hi-limit bar when you ask for a drink & they act like their doing you a favor and mostly unfriendly too. Everyone else on property is very friendly & helpful. And there is one individual I want to take my hat off to Deborah Smith she keeps the hi-limit bathroom spotless and people are filthy at Slots dumping trash & ashes & cigarette butts there and the lady comes immediately behind them and keeps it spotless and that way keeps everyone healthier. Now my room 830 needs some repair work I did call the front desk but I’m sure on the busy weekend they didn’t have time but the outlets in lamp don’t work and the Comode seat isn’t secure where someone could fall off. I just wanted to mention that because I know there is no way to know it unless someone makes y’all aware of it. Bills was great too. The spa changes rules after you book appointments for the elite benefit that is in black & white but my host helped me with it to make it good on my end. I love the Golden Nugget.

By L774TRbarbarad |

Keep driving short distance to L'Auberge rather than stop at GN. Machines are incredibly tight at GN. Ambiance is fine, but not as nice as L'Auberge. Machines get stuck with slow attendants. NO complimentary drink stations for coffee or sodas, and forget on-floor drink service. Nope, not a fan. The ONLY draw is fair entertainment on a regular basis, otherwise no dice.

By a_tripp |

The Casino was okay, only saw a waitress 1 time wasn't the best. We ate at the Salt grass there and it was super good my Ribeye was AMAZING.

By dabountyhunter76 |

I will keep this short and sweet. My wife and I visited this place this past weekend and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with the staff and service we recieved. We went to another casino first and the service was so horrible that we almost got in our car and drove 2 hrs back to Houston but I said to my wife let's at least give the Golden Nugget a shot first and boy are we glad we did. We enjoyed our anniversary there and it was also our first ever trip to a casino and they made such a great impression on us that we hope to get back there real soon.

We had a great time at the golden nugget. The pool was super, The lazy river was a lot of fun and the hot tub was a great place to chill. I played golf while I was there and the course was well maintained. We ate at the buffet and our waitress was Adrienne. She did a great job and met all our needs. The food was fresh, Hot and they had a great selection. We will be back. Willie Moore StreetRodding

I don’t like this place at all. Gaudy. Overrated. Smoky. Stinky. All they want to do is take your money. It’s a money pit!

By SusanScott17 |

It’s been many years since we have gone to a casino in Louisiana. We were visiting friends in the Beaumont area and decided to drive to Lake Charles to visit the Golden Nugget. It was an easy quick commute. Parking was easy as well. We really enjoyed ourselves while there... lost all the money we had budgeted to gamble while there but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. The complex was beautiful and clean... the staff was welcoming and friendly... offers a large variety of games (good mix of old favorites & new games and machines)... great atmosphere. Smokers and their smoke was a minor inconvenience... the casino is so large that we could easily find locations away from smokers. Also, there are numerous really nice restaurants and shops that surround the casino. We definitely plan to return.

By Kristeen G |

Great food, lots of fun and awesome memories with friends. Lilly’s has great Chinese food at reasonable prices.
Vic Anthony is 4 Star and beyond in food and service.

By cassiestogner |

We come to the golden nugget at least once a month. We always end up at the swim up bar. Gabriel is awesome. He is attentive, courteous, and hard working. I highly recommend going to see him. Every time we go, he is our bartender.

By K L |

GN is a very nice property a few hours drive from Houston. The rooms are very nice. They have numerous bars, and many of Tillman Fertitta’s restaurants such as Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse on premises. You can also take a trolley over to L’Auberge Casino and your charges go to your GN bill. I won’t comment on the casino because everyone has their own expectations, but I saw blackjack tables with limits at $15. I don’t know if they had any with lower limits but feel sure that they had some with higher minimums. Give the Nugget a try.

By Beverly M |

I was there in October and I had the slot person shut my slot down to get a drink & bathroom & cash but this time after soaking dollars in a slot I put the service light on no one ever came finally I got someone’s attention and they just kept walking then another one finally came by said you just have to leave the slot because they only do it for billionaires. It is like Elite players don’t count only billionaires. So I think that is enough to make me see the light and move to another place. So sad after you play for years at GN.

By Moved2Texas |

We visited the Golden Nugget and had a good time while there. In addition to many gaming options, the casino has many nice dining options. The gaming area is clean and spacious.

Took a quick trip to the Golden Nugget to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. Had a fantastic time celebrating at this great resort. Beautiful facilities, wonderful accommodations, attentive staff, great food, incredible spa, spacious casino. We look forward to coming back for more days of rest & relaxation.

Made a reservation for three nights, and then realized we were going to have to go down the day before that so I made another reservation making that two total reservations. arrived at front desk explained about the two reservations. The young lady said I’ve got you and said checking in today, Sunday and checking out Wednesday correct? I said yes she said we’re all good.
3 night trip started off bad day one. 1st room Capet
Soaking wet called front desk about the issue offered to change our rooms, but informed me I had to come all the way downstairs to get new room keys instead of bringing them to me. The man with our luggage was there waiting for us to see which room we would receive. He asked us to ask the front desk to call the baggage desk and radio him the new room we were being sent to so he could drop off our luggage. Went to front desk told them of the problem in the room with a wet carpet, honestly could have cared less. Then proceeded to tell the young lady at the desk about the baggage claim call that needed to be made. She told me I could go do it myself. OK, so that was not a good start lol the second day of our trip started the hell of every housekeeping person banging on our door 5 times and multiple phone calls in the room !! 2 of them came in the room while my husband was sleeping. One young guy yelled at my husband, after my husband said “thank God, my wife wasn’t taking a shower or a bath I guess you would just walk right in.”
Went downstairs to tell the front desk in the process I realized they had turned off our keys. I don’t know if the nugget does not train for customer service but I have never been treated so badly in a hotel. So 4 trips downstairs multiple calls to front desk and around 6 o’clock. Keys worked thank God.( one call the young lady said I’ll send new keys up and NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP)
Next day tv stopped working lol called front desk said sending someone up AGAIN NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP !! Not ONE SINGLE PERSON AT THE FRONT DESK showed ONE BIT OF CONCERN.

I know housekeeping was just doing their job, but there needs to be protocol about walking into a room .CHECKING FIRST W FRONT DESK FOR
CHECK Out DATE! Or perhaps you need to have some kind of communication with the front desk and reservations I know they have radios Why can’t they use those to communicate back-and-forth.

A staff member in the hall heard us complaining back-and-forth to each other and told us that the management is awful and they don’t care about much. Also, they can’t hold their staff. Maybe they need to pay them more money and they would show up to work. I know they’re making A TON OF MONEY. PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES A DECENT PAY!

CASINO is HOT !! Air must have been out.. this is the second visit that the air was out !!!Mind You this is JULY!

the nicest staff were the young ladies in the 24k card desk.. THEY DESERVE A RAISE

I’m not a ELITE member so I’m assuming my review doesn’t mean anything so in the future, I’ll be taking my money to Laberge. Hopefully they treat their customers with more respect.

Bed bugs that bit 3 of my family members, dusty room, rude and uncaring staff, we changed rooms 4x and finally gave up. Here's a pic of Kevin Monroe completing the bed bug report and a biz card from one manager. Par for the course for Tilman Fertitta, he does not care and that attitude is pushed down the chain. I tried to provide some grade given Covid, but they didn't even apologize or seem to care at all about this. Will not be back, place should be condemned.

I am at the Golden Nugget quite often and I have meet the most kindness, polite person you would ever want to meet. Candice G. She’s been working as a Hostess since I’ve been here for three years! She has pose, she’s professional and is like by many people! She’s always kind and come by whenever I’m seating in her section asking is there anything she can get for me! She often asked how am I and seemed to be quite concerned if everything okay! Over all she’s a 10 out of 10 in my opinion!
Thank you Candice for doing such a great job!😊

I visit quite frequently and I love eating at Landry's Seafood. My server Koontae was awesome! He was attentive and on point, never had to ask for refills or extra napkins. Koontae was easy to talk to and was so kind! He is a great server and individual!
His manager, Brandi is a great example of Excellent Leadership, she is always engaging with the guests, smiling and laughing! She is an amazing manager and she really cares about the staff and servers working during her shift. I love Landry's and will be back soon!

My husband and I went to the Golden Nugget to Little Anthony & the Imperials. We had never been to the Golden Nugget theatre so did not know what to expect. The concert was great and started on time which is very nice. The sound was good, seating comfortable and view was good as one did not have to weave and bob to see around the person in front of you as the seating was sloped. Now that we experienced this theatre we will go again and recommend to others to partake.

Still kind a new and clean. We had a good time playing. Stuff was pretty slow with serving drinks even though there were not too many people.

First time to Lake Charles, stayed for one night on the way back to Texas. Stayed at the new tower. Room is spacious and modern.
Noise in the hall in the middle of the night given that it is a casino. But, I didn’t expect machine like noises at 5/6am in the morning with pounding and a weird consistent dial tone like sound for about an hour. Maybe bc we stayed on the second floor and there might be a kitchen or something underneath the second floor rooms.
Also found some spots on the floor at entrance and bathroom that looked like has been there for a while. Made me wondered if the floor was cleaned at all. spacious and modern.

Plenty of Landry owned restaurants to choose from.

Visited for a Patti Labelle concert. Arrived early and room was not ready. Front desk stated they would give me a call once room was ready. Decided to eat a restaurant at the hotel (can’t remember the name) which was really good and service was great. There is a pool area that will remind you of Vegas. Once room was ready, there was a line. The vip area front desk moved me over for faster check in. Room was nice, clean, view of beach, accommodating bathroom. Only small negative was valet. They were a little slow at arriving and departing but that may have been because I arrived at check in time and left during check out time.

We had a wonderful time on our quick 24 hour getaway Thursday night at the Golden Nugget. The hotel, casino and staff were fantastic. The craps table crew on Friday morning were friendly, fun, and experienced. One of the drink waitresses on evening/night shift Thursday evening, Shay, made our trip! She was the perfect blend of professionalism and fun. She was fast, personable and we just loved her. Thanks to the Golden Nugget for hiring people like Shay!! Overall, it was a fantastic trip. We will be back soon!

Great Casino and nice atmosphere. I prefer to visit Sunday thru Thursday. This place is more crowded on Friday and Saturday.

Stayed here two nights. Pretty nice, clean casino. Seems very well run. Had pretty decent luck in the casino playing slots. There were a fair amount of servers to bring drinks.
One complaint it's the smoke in some places. Wish they could ventilate better. But it is what it is.
We still had a good time and will come back.

The Golden Nugget in Lake Charles has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. All of the amenities are first class and the staff is well trained, friendly and accommodation.

Spent a few hours exploring the Golden Nugget on our 1st visit! Enrolled in their slot program-most places give you a small "free" slot play like $5-10.00 they gave-nothing. Walked around, played about $100 on penny slots- lots of folks smoking; complaining; whining about losing! Visited a bar to kill some time. Ordered one common beer, one non-alcoholic iced tea. Staff then ignored us for 1/2 hr. We went to pay and put out a $20 bill. Finally called the barkeep over, as we were ready to leave (and had been for about 20 minutes) and she said-"do you want change"? How much can a $5.00 beer and a $3.50 tea cost at the Golden Nugget?? Bill was $15.00!!! and I guess she expected a $5.00 tip!!! We told her of course we would like our change and left a $3.00 tip!!! The only words we could come up w/between ourselves was "How rude can one person be?" Pretty condescending attitude-perhaps some polite training would be in order for this person??? Either that or she is used to "ripping" off patrons, thinking they won't care or even remember-but this was 2pm in the afternoon-so...charging $15 for two drinks and expecting $5.00 for a tip-was not only quite presumptuous-but could easily be construed as a flagrant "rip-off". Our last time to step foot in this casino! Good luck to all those who choose to keep visiting!

We go the the Golden Nugget quite often. Mostly play craps. Excellent craps dealers, especially compared with L ‘Auberge where many of the dealers are quite rude. If you need some help in comping your room or a meal you can go to the Host Office inside the casino. While some of the hosts are consistently unhelpful and a complete waste of time to talk to, several others are great. Nicole Eggard, Rickie Hebert and Winter Duhon are all very nice and almost always accomodating. They will help out if you are losing or try to make a winning trip better.

Another great meal with drinks for the group of 8 on a Thursday. Keep up the good work Maria - manager.

Loved the Golden Nugget Casino. Lots of fun!!! The place is clean and the restrooms are very well kept. There were plenty of gaming tables. Good cocktails while gaming. Great band at Rush 46, the bar inside the casino. The bartender was awesome. Had a good time at this casino. It would be nice to have a non-smoking section. The smoking takes away from the time I spend in the casino. Won money, had lots of fun.

The Casino was great. Everything about it. Our Hostess Cheryl Rather was excellent. She went out of her way to take care of us and make sure we enjoyed our stay. Best Casino Host we ever had.

I think I've been here twice maybe 3 times in the 15 years we've lived in Lake Charles. Our niece gave us a free night stay for our anniversary. That was a big treat. I felt so much like the "Uptown Girl". lol Thank you, Eidth! Even now you are gone from us I will always love you and remember the great times we had together.

By Diana |

Went with family I don't know if they had a non smoking area if they don't they need one. Slots weren't that friendly, didn't stay that log to play. Vegas is better

By terryramirez0901 |

Hubby and I went as we spent one night in Lake Charles. I had never been to a casino like this (only smaller ones with just slots). The atmosphere was friendly. Several patrons talking with each other. Lots of waitresses everywhere serving free beer and drinks. This evening they were giving away free fans to guest they had mailed. We saw lots of happy people and the workers were all nice except one of the cashiers who seemed to be rushing us along. Overall we spent 5 hours there and left only down $20. That’s a win I think lol

Fair warning to travelers to this facility. Under the Louisiana Covid restrictions, this facility cannot serve drinks unless you are dining or actively playing in the casino. The only other exception to this rather odd restriction is in and around the pool area. The net effect is that the handful of restaurants are inundated with folks trying to eat dinner and have a cocktail resulting in two hour waiting times. Just the thing when pull in off the road hungry, tired, and thirsty!

If social distancing concerns you (which it may not) then get ready for a rough ride. The lines that form in the various cues can be close and lengthy. Further they don’t supervise the elevator loading coming out of lobby level. Yes, there are many folks that will observe the signs and limit it to the four person max. But there are others who will try to push their way in anyway.

Another problem we had was with our booking through Hotels.Com. Sorry, but we just had so many issues with this internet based booking outfit I think we avoid the all together in the future. When we booked our room we selected the prompts offered on their site regarding room type and location only to find out the info they transmit to the facility is very different from what you see on their site. This is NOT an inexpensive stay and frankly as a customer you deserve better.

There are many good characteristics of this facility. Gorgeous pool, generous slots, very good food, comfortable beds etc. but like so many great operations they are hobbled by this (Covid) unfortunate twist of fate.

Table games are expensive here compared even to Vegas. Wednesday night there were 2 craps tables open, but both were $25. Same with most table games. $15 ultimate hold em’ and blackjack. Too expensive for commoners to play for too long. Good selection of machines though and waitresses pay more attention to you at the machines than the bar tenders do at the bars, even if your playing a machine on the bar top. Hit a couple decent machines so I felt like the payouts are not super tight. Would definitely return.

Tillman has given the gulf coast a wonderful resort with Las Vegas Vibes! The restaurant variety even though all Landry's restaurants give a wonderful variety to the area. The casino itself is very high class as are all Landry's properties. Never underestimate any of his properties. He has the most gracious well trained staff of any organization I've ever seen!

By Rey Canales |

We thought it was a smoke free casino because you couldn’t really tell people were smoking unless they were next to you. Very clean!

By Leigh E |

We had such a good time at the golden nugget except one of the dealers named Shannah was so rude because my friend got her name wrong. Which is normally not a big deal but Shannah made it a big deal by going on about how she hates white people (while the whole table except one person was white), we're all the same, and she's allowed to say that because she's married to a white man.

Maybe she was just having a bad day, but I find that hard to believe with the way she just kept going on and on. And even if she was having a bad day, that's no way to talk to the people are supposed to tip you. If she's that miserable she should find another job.

By Russell M |

Such a great resort with so much potential. Played the golf course and sorely disappointed- greens were sandy and hard to putt. Fairways were decent
Room service was non existent- had to call for room
Service in 2nd day as they did not sho up day one- then when they finally showed up asked me what I wanted cleaned. Then only change towels out and left- no cleaning
Terrible room service
The resort itself was gorgeous and well
Kept and did not smell like a casino

By Lynn W |

The casino was much more than I expected. I liked the upscale look and easy access to very good restaurants and shopping.

By Kerry K |

Exceeded our expectations. Plenty of tables. Nice and Clean. Friendly dealers. Drinks were a little slow until I started winning at Blackjack and then they showed up every 5 minutes. Funny how that works. All in all a good time worth the drive.

My 26 year old daughter was refused entry even after producing photographic ID and having four 50 year olds vouch for her. She had previously used this ID in other casinos in Louisiana without any issue. Staff were extremely rude and dismissive to the point if not actually talking to my daughter, but gesturing what they wanted her to do and where to stand etc. Never experienced anything so rude in my life. Suggest you review your admission policy as discriminatory and send your staff on a customer care course!

By Allison T |

The restaurant in the golden nugget (Landry's Seafood) was the best choice. I enjoyed everything! My server Caroline Dupree was attentive, warm and efficient. Caroline was one of the best servers I have had. The manager on duty came around the tables to make sure all was well and chatted. That is great service and I love seeing that in the service industry. Landry's is all about GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

By R.T Nodesi Smillow |

Really wasn't my style, I don't understand all the rage about this casino, very over the top glitzy with big city vibes. Very not personable.

By mabailey1121 |

Check in experience was fast and easy. Only disappointment was with Landrycard did not allowe us to be elevated to bigger room. In the past it was an available perk with Landry card. We were allowed to have a suite in the past

By wwilliams1052 |

High Limit Room is really nice. Just wish it was bigger so there would be more choices of machines. Top dollar machines were our winners this trip. Also won $4,000.00 on a 25 dollar machine on the first pull.

I come here fairly often after living in Oklahoma for years, this casino has terrible service, rude employees and inconsistent table game prices, usually on Sunday’s the ultimate hold-em poker table was 10.00 minimum and when I drove an hour and half over here this time it was 15.00 min. And the table was cold as ice, lost my ass really fast, I don’t mind losing ad long as I get to play for a while but that didn’t happen today!? I guess they bump the price up so they can make money back fast ! I asked a couple of questions to dealer and put manager and they were downright rude and it wasn’t pertaining to the crappy run I was having.
I strongly suggest folks go next door to La Berge casino and hopefully you’ll be treated better and with respect ! Or better yet hold out for a trip to Oklahoma for a much better experience !! Tulsa has 3 casinos that Rock !! And have looser slots than this joke of a casino/resort and way friendlier staff !!

By J R |

This casino stole $5300 from me and threatened me with assault and kidnapping on the pretext that I had been "trespassed", but Louisiana act 451 says they can't trespass me for my skill so the trespass was invalid. And even if I were validly trespassed they couldn't legally refuse to cash chips. They wouldn't even give me the chips back or a receipt or anything after they refused to cash the chips. Worst casino ever. Louisiana is a banana republic with no justice. The gaming commission just passed the buck to the gaming cops, who passed the buck to the local cops, who were the ones the casino was calling to falsely arrest me for "trespassing". This casino deserves to have every possible bad thing happen to them and to have no one ever stay there again.

Great pool, lazy river, enjoyed the food, very nice hotel rooms. Love playing the slots there. Very friendly and helpful staff.

By Randa J |

Went for some early morning gambling on Saturday. Wasn’t expecting much since it was still pretty slow in the casino. Decided to sit at an empty Pai Gow table. Ms Pat (Stevens) was dealing... and Absolutely made my trip! She was the best dealer I have ever run into at the Golden Nugget. She was so much fun and personable and absolutely made our day!! Thank you Ms Pat for an amazing experience!

By Renea001 |

I have visited this casino a few times and I never really win anything. I still enjoy playing. I just wish the machines were a little loser. There are plenty of machines to choose from. The staff is very friendly. The cocktail waitress made rounds regularly. The cigarette smoke is a big turn off due to tge fact that I can't stand it. I tolerate it but when someone comes to sit right by you and smoke its terrible.

Pros: Plenty of machines to choose from

Cons: Lots of cigarette smoke

By charlotte g |

We have been here twice and loved it both times! Golden Nugget is a beautiful casino! Always clean and fun. There are many restaurants and shops, not to mention the pools! You will not be disappointed.

We were treated I royalty. Clean rooms, everyone greets us with a smile.
We had breakfast at the Claim Jumper.
The food was tasty and hot and the Waitness serve with a smile and was very kind.
It was a wonderful visit.
The casino was clean, didn't smell like cigarettes smokes just a great place to visit and have some fun.

By Lori F |

We just stopped in for a quick look and ended up spending the evening. The casino was clean and the smoke smell was managed pretty well so kept to a minimum compared to some casinos we have visited. Won a little on the slots and then left the table with $300 so not a bad evening. :)

By Brian C |

Wife and I took a quick trip to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is great. Nice, big room and very clean and modern. We were somewhat disappointed in the table games because the lowest minimum on blackjack was $15. We like to play $5, and will play $10 per hand, but $15 was just a bit too pricey for our budget. This was a weekday night, so we didn’t understand the high minimum. We are blackjack players, so for this reason we won’t be returning. Probably go back to Shreveport-Bossier where it’s more affordable. Otherwise, it’s a cool place to visit with a great hotel and great restaurants.

By ASLCLT |

A casino resort is not a likely spot to stay if you have health/safety concerns for you, your family or others right now so know that here they’re throwing caution to the wind! There’s absolutely NO precautions or safety measures respected anywhere here. No hand sanitizer at entries, elevators, checkin, restaurants, shops, etc; no masks on guests even though staff have them; and no social distancing, or personal space respected, anywhere. Clerks at checkin have their masks below their noses, and they move them aside to speak to guests with no barriers or distancing. There’s crowded main corridors and elevators with people jammed in long lines at checkin, at restaurant host stands, and awaiting elevators in lobby as well as on what appears to be fully-occupied floors. Maybe some floors are empty since supposedly they are operating well-below capacity(25%?). Yet the elevators are packed and the pools are filled with no limits observed or social distancing at pool bars. Lines for elevators in 17+ story hotel tower always have 10-25 people waiting in line, as do restaurants at mealtimes. Cannot imagine these elevators lines at full capacity!
Rooms are nice but not luxurious, and the bathrooms look good upon first glance but don’t look too close since there’s mold growth in shower corners, mirror sconces are filthy, etc. Guest rooms get loads of hallway noise at all hours since there’s always late night partiers—again it is a casino resort— and loud guests headed to their beds at 2am as well as unsupervised kids and teens running about, even on a Monday night. The room doors and walls must be paper-thin. And no room service now. The bags of dirty linens and trash left in the hallways was a big turn-off too.
But a lot of people here are having a lot of boozing-good fun all day and all night, and they’re driving over from Texas since every car in the parking lot has Texas plates. Great spot for a casino resort getaway on the Gulf Coast, but it felt like an enormous pool of germs being frantically stirred during a pandemic earlier this week.
Suggestion for GN Management: Host a hotel promotion with a free gift of a Golden Nugget rolling bag, weekender suitcase, or large tote bag since so many guests arrive in shopping bags.
Big shout-out to servers and kitchen staff at Landry’s—it’s well managed with great staff and good food. For the fun seekers, try their fab Swamp Water cocktail, or better yet, make your Hurricane a Category 5...they add a layer of 151!
GN is not what I look for as my kind of hotel or resort stay, but it clearly appeals to a whole lotta folks...even in the midst of COVID-19.

By drb |

The entire leisure space smells like cigarettes!!! I was not able to enjoy my breakfast or walk around to look at the shops due to the strong smell of smoke! I know it is a casino, but we went over to L'Baurge and when the doors opened you were not treated with smoke. It only smelled smoky towards the back of their casino. The ventilation system has to be poor at the Golden Nugget. I was disgusted and would never go back there again.

This is a casino resort. Beautiful. My favorite place to stay when I’m working in lake Charles. So much so that I usually book and extra night just for myself

By Dale P |

This is The luxury casino in Lake Charles with ambiance, yet reasonable craps table minimums; at least during the week. The table personnel are friendly, and help create a great atmosphere at the tables. The slots are loss enough to generate good action. Surrounded by great bars and restaurant this is the place to go, gamble and enjoy life. Easy access from I10/I210 with a short, beautiful resort drive off of the freeway.

By Phil Cornell |

We've stayed and played at Golden Nugget casino several times over the last few years. Each time we've gotten excellent service, great rooms and good times. Highly recommended when you're in Lake Charles.

By Bruno P |

I wanted to spend the evening in the casino, unfortunately I could not get in. I've been asked my id because I apparently look less than 35. I had my national (foreigner) ID and my passport, but the person who did the check answered the only recognized document is a us id. so I could not get in and enjoy the evening with my friends (who seem apparently older so they did not get their I'd asked, so they managed to enter). there was no mention that us citizenship was required...

A note to give kudos to Kimberly for being a wonderful and attentive hostess. Kimberly keeps me informed of all upcoming events, via text, and emails. She has been and is a great hostess. She has helped me book last minute trips and made me feel comfortable without hesitation. Thank you Kimberly for all you do for me. You have been an excellent hostess. I always look forward to going to Lake Charles, the casino is wonderful and always fun to take in a few days of relaxation and gambling.

We decided to drive to Lake Charles for a quick casino break for 2 nights. It was Tuesday & Wednesday. Luckily as the whole hotel had to evacuate because of a hurricane on the Thursday. Rooms are lovely lots of space, very nicely decorated. A good strong shower and a bath tub. Separate toilet. Great view of the golf course. You need to wear your mask but they’re not so strict which is nice. Not all of the restaurants are open Lilley’s was and Vic and Anthony’s, Starbucks is open. The bar closes in the casino at 11pm. There is a shortage of staff, between covid and hurricanes they are doing there best. Great fun mini break.

By Rachel D |

We stayed three nights, most restaurants were closed or over an hour wait then the service was horrible. We ate at Lillies and Bills burger bar and both times we had to cancel our orders because the food did not come out for over 45 minutes. Our room was missing items when we arrived and the dresser was broken. No room service and no housekeeping provided during our entire stay. Tilman needs to make a trip out there to get this place in to shape. I will not be going back. For the price I find this unacceptable.

By Samuel D |

I don’t enjoy this casino, I never win here! Also staff always seems rude. Hotel and restaurants are nice however extremely overpriced! L’Auberge Is far more reasonable in Value with competitive Luxury.

We spent New Year's Eve in this casino and loved. There are lots of machines and table games. We never had a problem getting a drink in the slot area. The decor is beautiful and there are plenty of shops and restaurants as well. We can't wait to go back.

Had a really great time relaxing at the Golden Nugget after a long stretch of work. Won some money and had a few drinks. My cocktail server McCall was fast and friendly. The drinks were good and the atmosphere is exciting. Would definitely say it’s the best casino in the South.

By David K |

My last review of this place was good. The resort was recently opened at the time and all was very nice. I moved away from Houston for four years and moved back last summer. So, I decided to make a trip to the Golden Nugget. It was a huge disappointment and I will not be going back. From first contact until several days after my trip they did NOTHING to make me want to return. And it's not because of bad luck at the gaming...I actually came out ahead.

The room itself was okay but WAY overpriced. In the casino, the table minimums were too high. In short, with a few exceptions, their attitude was very unwelcoming from the beginning. Everyone acted like they didn't care about my business. Some were actually rude.

To add insult to injury, a charge on my credit card appeared for TWO days of "resort fees" and we had checked out after one day. When I called to talk to someone about it, I was on hold for an hour and finally hung up. So that's it for the Golden Nugget for me.

The good news is that a Horseshoe Casino (Ceasar's property) is going to open in the fall in Lake Charles and I will probably try them out.

By TexasJan |

Stayed 2 nights in the hotel. Room was very large and nicely furnished. Very clean. Not sure when the usual time was for housekeeping to have the room clean . It was after 5 pm when our room was cleaned that second day. Casino was very nice. Got pretty smoky later in the day. Was lucky enough to get a handpay. Did not make all the restaurants but the ones we did make were all good. Needed gluten free options and all were willing to work with me. Claim
Jumper breakfast was very good and easily adapted for me. Bills Burgers on the beach outside actually had gluten free buns and Angry Orchard beverage so happy there. The pool was amazing.Very Large and we enjoyed it as well. Will definitely come back soon!

Golden Nugget Lake Charles Louisiana, is absolutely the best place to stay! My sleeping accommodations were absolutely the finest, never slept so good in a hotel/resort. The room was outstanding, with a twist of luxury encouraging my holidays to be the best!!! I highly recommend this property as one of my very best vacation resorts!!!
