Skip the Skywalk

By carlosel395 |

The skywalk experience was good; however, I don’t recommend the extra fee. First, the line to get in takes over one hour, no cell phones allowed, instead they take pictures inside for $50 and they are horrible. Better to look at the magnificent canyon from outside or go tho de GUANO point on the bus which has the most incredible views.

Disappointing waste of money.

By Bernie_B |

Signage leads you to think that the general admission ticket of 70 Dollars also would include access to Sky Walk.
Another 30 Dollars to access. Rude and dismissive staff.
No cameras or phones allowed, but luckily there is a photographer there to take your pictures for an extra fee.
We didn’t even bother going on and quickly caught the bus back to the beginning and left.

Like being at Disney

By tognir |

I’ve done the skywalk before, maybe 5 years ago or so and we enjoyed it so when family visited we wanted to take them too. They have ruined it and made it so you feel like you are at Disney. You get on a bus to various stops, the first being the skywalk then you are made to stand in line in 95 degree heat for 1.5 hours. The walk is then held up by you emptying everything into a locker, including cell phone so you cannot take a picture of the skywalk. When you get on the skywalk they have 4 or 5 photographers taking up all the space so you can’t see the view just so they can take pictures of you to try and sell you for $25 each, a total rip off and waste of time.

Great views

By Ashley |

Amazing views!! Highly recommend early morning visit. We arrived at 10:30 and only had to wait 15 minutes in the photo line. The photo package is pricey but got some good photos. We went to two of the look out points (guano point and the skywalk), great views at both locations. The shuttle bus between each location comes every 20 minutes.

Not that special

By veronique b |

The view is beautiful and it is of course very special to walk above the valley. But that's all.
You will be in a queue for 2 hours (outside high season!). You are not allowed to take photos on the bridge, they will do that for you, but the photos are of very poor quality.
I really didn't think it was worth the price.

It is an incredibly beautiful area, but the Skywalk is not much.

AVOID!! WORSE RIP OFF EVER!! NOT WORTH IT!!

By ompblus |

They charge $42/person just as "general admission", then an extra $22 for the skywalk where you cannot take your own pictures as they have you leave all your personal belonging in a locker! You can only buy the picture they'll take from you for an extra $30!! Don't waste the $52 to get a pic, really not worth the money. Just take the general admission and go take your own pictures from the cliff!! Same for Guano Point. Also, they do not have regular buses. There was a long line and we had to wait 30 mns to be able to get in the third bus at Eagle Point, and an extra 20 mns at Guano Point!! On the way back, they don't stop you at the guest parking, and have you go all the way to the Hualapai Point when they could just drop you at the parking if you do not wish to go. Conclusion: Skip that very expensive and painful experience. Go to the State Park where you'll see see same beautiful scenery for only $35 per car!!

Not worth it

By MelvinGM |

There are two lines on the skywalk: a photo line for those who want their pictures taken by the site’s photographers, another for those who don’t want to be photographed. The photo line moved very slowly as the three photographers took their sweet time shooting their clients in all possible poses. Several of us in the photo line decided to leave the line. The glass floor is so blurry you could hardly see through it. Skip the skywalk. The view from Guano Point is much better, anyway.

Overpriced and not worth

By Traveler |

Overpriced and definitely not worth the drive from Las Vegas
Rather just drive up a couple extra hours to south rim to experience the real Grand Canyon
This is run by a private company and not by national park services
They do not even allow personal phone and camera on skywalk and force you to buy overpriced photo package

Don’t bother unless you have money to burn

By Andrew W |

Complete and utter session to milk me for cash and time. Then the final insult not being able to take your own pictures on the skywalk. Expensive and a complete rip off

Rip-off

By Daniel Matless |

Avoid the outrageous fees charged for the skywalk. I was charged around $70 for a photograph package that was supposed to be e-mailed to me.....it never arrived. I`ve e-mailed the company a number of times and have had no response from them. What a rip-off. They don`t even have the good manners to reply to e-mails.

Superb site. Very unrecommendable catering

By Alexandre A |

Breathtaking. It may seem expensive and optional, in reality it has to be done. We are well aware of the depth of the Grand Canyon. Gorgeous. On the other hand, the staff is unwelcoming and unhelpful. Restaurant to avoid!

Honest Review

By Gints K |

DO NOT VISIT! So simple. This was biggest disappointment in whole US trip - 25 USD price for entry was resonable, but that they neglect to say before is that those PR pictures of skywalk are photoshop edited to make it more impressive and real "skywalk" is very small, glass floor is dirty with poor visibility. Views on canyon are the same and for free for everyone next to skywalk not to mentioning, that views from nearby Guano point (5-10min walking) are much more superior.
And on top of that you will spend minimum 30 minutes (some guides said it can be even 2 hours) in queue just to wait for your turn to get inside skywalk. And there is next "surprise" - no cameras are allowed so no pictures to make. There are individual photographer for each visitor, that makes quick 4 photos - the quality of pictures were extremely bad and in most pictures is just photo of visitors and not so much of Grand Canyon surrounding. And for this "service" they charge extra 25 USD for one digital picture or 50 USD for "all" pictures. And just to see your pictures there is another 10 minutes queue.
That said - on day we visited, I did not hear any positive review about skywalk and to make quick comparison - we spend almost 50 minutes in queue and 5 min on skywalk (there is no time limit, but as there is nothing to see, then nobody stays longer) while in Guano point we spend more than 60 minutes to admire Grand Canyon and views were so fantastic...

Very poor experience.

By david1892 |

Complete waste of time and money.I would advise anyone considering this not to bother. If you go to Guano point you will see more (views are amazing). It starts with the long line to gain entry then having to put all your belongings in a safe and go through a metal detector to ensure you haven't got a phone in your pocket. When you do get to the Skywalk you are not allowed to walk freely you wait for a photographer to allow you to enter the Skywalk and ask about photos. There are 5 photographers on the Skywalk. We opted just to take 1 photo. Didn't buy it as it was $25.Quick 2 mins on the rest of the Skywalk and your done. Out you go.Terrible.The views from the glass floor are lost as your are expected to entertain a photographer and end up not looking down. Avoid.

Over Priced, Poorly Organised

By Griffmil |

Paid $82 per person. Not enough busses running, meaning that you had to queue in 45 degree temperatures for up to 45mins at a time. Sky Bridge is unspectacular, with no mobile phones allowed, but loads of 'official' photographers to take more money off you. At the end of the visit, they insist on taking you on a long detour past the carpark to the zipwire location, which unless you have a zip wire ticket, no-one gets off. Really poorly organised with only a couple of views of the canyon for the price

Breathtaking views!

By Stephinee R |

Breathtaking views. Only downside, which I didn’t know until after I purchased the tickets, you can’t take your own pictures on the skywalk. They have photographers who take your pictures and you can purchase. 1 photo was, I think, around $25 or you could get your entire digital photo package for $55. The skywalk is also a separate purchase from the admission ticket to Eagle Point and Guano Point. There is a bus that takes you to each stop which is very convenient.

Ups and Downs at West End

By Ca-native48 |

Excessively long line for skywalk (greater than 45-minute wait) prevented many on our bus tour the full experience. View TREMENDOUS. Explodes with color. Be aware, clouds move in fast and severely block colors of walls. Our driver drove us to another vantage point only to have area UNDER CONSTRUCTION! No notice given to tour company nor signage present.

Accident waiting to happen

By catscott111 |

Was excited to go to the Skywalk but it was very underwhelming. Cost was high but could overlook that if the experience was amazing. Unfortunately it wasn’t. The wait to go onto the Skywalk was very long as were the bus lines. They also confiscated our cameras and go-pros so they could then offer us a $25 photo they took. Not a great experience. There was also a lack of education about the canyon itself and the native people. None of us left knowing much more than they came.

On a positive note, Guano point was spectacular and absolutely the highlight of the trip. Very suprised there were no safety measures in place. There are no safety fences etc and I watched terrified as many children went right to the edge. Horrifying!!!! It’s an accident waiting to happen.

All in all, if it wasn’t for Guano point I would be asking for a refund for the $700 it cost us for what was a very disappointing experience for all 8 of our group.

Don't pay the extra for the Skywalk

By Patrick |

Rip off tourist trap
Wait two hours in queue because they have about five photographers taking pictures so they don't allow people on the Skywalk till all the photos are taken.
You can't take your own phones or cameras so they can rip you off by buying the ones they take.
Just buy the general admission ticket saving you $20 and you don't miss much.

Disappointed No photos attached as not allowed to take any!

By John S |

Very disappointed with this. We waited in line for a considerable time before having to put all our possessions in a locker and go through a screening process. This was obviously designed to ensure no phones or cameras were taken on to the bridge. Once arriving on the bridge 4 professional photographers were at work making individuals and groups pose for multiple photos and asking me to move to allow them a back drop. The drop itself is reasonably impressive but is over a tributary canyon and not over the river itself. Over all this was designed to take more money from you for professional photography and not taking your own photos for “safety reasons “ In my opinion save your money and get the fantastic views at Guano Point.

Great view, onerous restrictions on photos, exorbitant entrance fees

By JohnEO |

Getting to GCW via satnav was a nightmare. The turning from Vegas is poorly signed, and we missed it, ending up on the somewhat distressed Hualapai Reservation at Peach Springs, where fortunately a friendly parks officer directed us the very long way to GCW.

Having subsequently visited the National Parks' far superior Southern Rim operation, we wished National Parks would take GCW over, as our experience was very mixed.

The primary feature of GCW is the glass skywalk. Although the views from the skywalk are truly impressive so is the $80pp cost, which is a rip off, especially as the site guards do not allow "any personal items" to be taken on the skywalk; read, you cannot take your own camera or smart phone as the site is located on and owned by the Hualapai Reservation, which has granted privileged commissions to several photographers to take your photo. On our visit, there were very few takers

In the absence of any booking-by-time system, there are inevitably long queues where folks are huddled together. COVID?

Notwithstanding the skywalk rip off, the views from Eagle point and Guano Point are wonderful, and the bus service on the site is impressive both by its frequency and bus size.

Sadly, because of the inadequate signage and delay in reaching GWC we never made it to Hualapai Point and Village where we had hoped to enjoy the tribal experience.

Sorry, Hualapai, you need to raise your game. The Skywalk fees are exorbitant and hardly in keeping with Native American culture that upholds the belief that land belongs to no one. To justify them, you really need to explain how much of your income from GCW is actually spent to help sustain Hualapai communities unable to receive government funding. In this way, visitors might better be able to swallow your high fees. Also don’t the Hualapai have IRC 501(c)(3) status as a tax exempt organization? Visitors would like some answers information on these questions.

Pay back

By Michael R |

This is the closest part of the Grand Canyon from Vegas, so this is why we chose it. The views were great. The down side is that this is all on Native American reservation, and the Hualapai are running a for profit operation here. The skywalk is neat, but the scheme of confiscating all phones and cameras to go onto the skywalk sort of sucks. (just so the team of photographers have a monopoly over any and all photos that are available for sale at a high price). The entry fee also seems quite steep, as you would think a place like this should be a National park and very reasonable for families. The Guano point area is just as spectacular as the skywalk without any photo restrictions.
Anyway, I get it, the tribe needs to generate revenue. They are all very nice, but could probably develop some different options to make money. All in all - it was a good experience. And when you read the history of the Hualapei (and know the past of all native Americans .. I guess we shouldn’t complain about paying them back.

Pictures do not do it justice.

By kirbykirby |

You are bussed up to the Sky Walk and then you get to stand in line. If you go in the summer months bring your own water. You can thank me later. Once you get inside to go out on the Sky Walk, you get to wear booties for your shoes. Once you are finally out there, it is definitely worth it all. The view is absolutely stunning. You have a problem with heights, this may not be for you. I needed to adjust to it but once I did, it was incredible.

They do offer to take your picture which my friend and I did. We had some fun pictures with it. They do offer additional pictures of the Sky Walk in different weather conditions. We bought it. The grand total was only 50 USD. You get like 10-12 pictures of you and then additional 30 pictures of the Sky Walk to me it was worth it.

Skywalk is a ripoff. Not worth the extra money. . Go to Guano point instead.

By Ray M |

Skywalk is a ripoff. Not worth the extra money. Go to Guano point. Climb some sketchy rocks and awesome pictures for FREE. Eagle point is not worth it,

Amazing view of the Canyon

By Larry L |

A bit remote but worth the effort. Frequency of bus transport was good. Having to put your stuff in a locker was annoying. Long wait to get on the Skywalk. The photo thing is not worth it. If you want to do a helicopter tour sign up early as they sell out quick. View of the Canyon was stunning!

Great point to see the Grand Canyon

By Just_Traveler |

The West Rim is where the Skywalk is located. It's part of the Hualapai tribe territory. The views are great, the Skywalk is a great experience just make sure you have your expectations clear: No cel phones or cameras on the skywalk, they can take pics of you and you can buy the digital package at the end. If you really want to take your cel with you ask about the cel permit, it's $100.
Staff is really friendly, the pics they take are great.
Once you are done on the bridge take their bus to Guano point, views are even more amazing from there. There's a cafeteria offering a set menu ( delicious ) and you can have lunch overseeing the Grand Canyon.
Definitely worth the stop

No cameras allowed

By Nadine B |

The views were amazing, you're not allowed to bring your phone or camera onto the skywalk. They have tight security to make sure you leave all recording devices in a free locker. They have photographers there, about $50 for pics. You have to wear cloth booties as not to scratch the glass floor. Felt a bit scared especially when hearing the glass creak.

Who's afraid of heights?

By ViaggiatoreGoloso |

If you are afraid of heights avoid this glass bridge. The view is spectacular and there is the opportunity to take professional photos but the risk of sticking to the balustrade in fear is very high. The view you can enjoy is spectacular

Disappointed with the Skywalk. Wouldn't do it again.

By Brian A |

Decent view, but it's kind of a scam to force you to buy their photos for an overpriced experience.

Skywalk - Over rated

By Komalkokos |

The skywalk is overrated. You are not allowed to take pictures in your own and have to take a package offered by the operator. This means extra waiting time. The walk doesn’t give the feel of walking high In the air and juts out very little. Doing the skywalk in limited times means skipping other viewing points that have much better awesome views of the canyon.

OVERPRICED, UNDERWHELMED.

By Sunshine S |

All the prior bad reviews are correct. Once you get there from the hour long out of the way drive, the staff can barely muster up the patience to explain their different rip off options. Although it was overpriced for the no frills option of $54, I was glad I didn’t get the skywalk option, which didn’t allow any picture taking. WTH is the point of going to the Grand Canyon and paying extra for a “better”? view if you can’t take a picture?! Then we realized part two of the scammery— only professional photographers are allowed cameras at A whopping $65 a picture. Not to mention the skywalk was small, hardly a better view than anywhere else, and every area was roped off. It was so controlled that all the fun was sucked out of it. We stopped by the restaurant there, to have a couple sodas while gazing out the windows. We were told we couldn’t sit by the windows unless we bought beer or wine. UN- F-ING believable. We said we would have alcohol so we could get to the window then took our pictures and left. That pretty much was the last straw for being screwed at this attraction. Then we rode the shuttle bus (driven by a silent driver who couldn’t be bothered to say ONE WORD about the canyon but still had a big tip box set up) to the next viewpoint which enabled you to climb around and have MUCH better views than you have at the skywalk. We were mostly left alone by the edge police and got some great pictures. The next shuttle bus driver back was the star of the operation— he walked us over to the best spot to take a picture of us, then told the passengers history of the canyon, etc., totally deserving the tip we left. I’d advise skipping this and seeing the canyon for free on the other side.

Skywalk waste of time and money

By Mark A |

What can, I say we waited in line for an hour just to get into the building only to find the line caried on for another 20 minutes.
You then had to put your personal belongings into a locker as you went through an airport type scanner and then a metal check with a hand paddle to make sure you didn't have a phone or camera as they took photos for you. If you didn't want to pay for this option you could walk around the walk but you felt like you were in the way as there were lots of photographs wanting to take pictures for the people that took the option.
Big waste of time and money.

Overpriced and total waste of time!!

By 2016ab2016 |

Absolute waste of money!!!! Drive about 2 1/2 hours to a security checkpoint where you then park your car and have to go into a shabby oversized "tent" to pay for the different experiences at the west rim of the grand canyon. We did the eagle point and skywalk package. Approx $150.00 for 2 people!!!! You then have to wait in 45 degree weather outside for a bus to pick you up to go to the "west rim of the grand canyon" ( we waited 40 mins). The buses are jammed packed and hot. Drive 10 more mins and then get out at eagle point. Yes the views are spectacular but that is it!!! After waiting in line for another 30 mins to go on the skywalk, a very grumpy and rude staff member came out and said the skywalk is closed and to get out of the building. We found out later that it was closed because of lightening in the area. I get it for safety reasons but that was the reason we paid for the higher priced ticket. Then we had to wait for another bus , approx 45 min bus ride, to bring us back to the main building/tent. Instead of going straight back, the bus takes to all the stops!!! Complete waste of time!!! They should have just built a parking lot where the eqgle point is and just charged a parking fee or nothing and then if people choose to go into the different buildings or activites, then you can pay. I cannot stress what a waste of time this was and how it is a complete money grab!! Not impressed and will not recommend this to anyone.

Entrance and visit to the sky walk are different prices they only take $$ from you when you enter the sky walk you cannot take your own f

By Jose D |

It's not fun, high prices to see the canyon, they don't allow you to take photos on the sky walk, they take several photos of you, they are not professional photographers

A real tourist catch

By Paul Pro B |

Queues from everywhere, no phone allowed & super expensive for what it is.
Long minutes waiting under the sun without any shelters and water bottles. It is a real tourist trap and I recommend you to go very seriously.

Grand Canyon Fotos

By Carmella P |

Sky walk is truly beautiful, however paid for pictures and cannot download. Contacted Grand Canyon fotos and they did not get back to me. Going to my bank for refund. 5 stars for beauty and 0 stars for foto experience.

Long Queues

By GBJ-Cookies |

This was an optional extra as part of our visit to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. At $25 for a 5 minute experience this is very overpriced and throw in the extortionet cost of a photograph you get the feeling that the place is set up as a cash cow rather than giving visitor a special experience.
The queues for tickets were very long, so my advice would be purchase these in advance as the wait ate into our limited time at the surrounding area, which meant our included lunch (which was delicious) was somewhat rushed.
To enter the Skywalk you must leave all your phones, cameras etc in the free lockers, walk through airport security and then place covers on your footwear. Then you have the option of walking straight on to the walkway or joining another queue and a extra 20 minute wait to have photos taken.
The optional photos will set you back $65 and that's for a download, although the cost was shared between our group.
Friends who didn't do the walk were able to take pictures from afar.
Still an interesting thing to do, you just have to weigh up the costs v the experience.

Complete Waste of Money

By AussieJulesW |

There’s no doubt the views from this part of the Grand Canyon are spectacular. However, the experience around the skywalk just feels like a rip-off. Upon arrival you need to put all your belongings, including phones and cameras in a locker. You are not allowed to take your own photos. Instead you have to have the official photographers take photos of you on the skywalk - for US$55! What a joke. Once you’ve donned the mandatory shoe covers, you wait off the skywalk in a queue, so the aforementioned photographers take photos of those who have been granted access. After finally being allowed on the walk, it was an interesting to see the ground 4000 feet below, but really - you can see the same views from directly next to the skywalk.
Save your money.

Skywalk is scam

By David |

Its good place, but Skywalk not worth attraction to visit. They take your phones off, to make money with own photographs, and to pay additional 50 eur for photos, but its not the worse thing, the worse is that they don't even have ideas how to make photos. Very bad photos, and completely not worth 50 eur, and skywalk is dirty, scratched and completely not worth visiting.

Skip the Skywalk!

By Tatem S |

Such a cash grab! So disappointed with the blatant attempts to squeeze you for every penny. The skywalk was ok but not worth the long lines and money. The only thing worth the trip was Guano Point where you were allowed to explore and see beautiful views autonomously.

My advice to future travelers: just do general admission and skip the skywalk and Eagle Point all together. Go straight to Guano.

A ONE TIME EXPERIENCE

By SoCalOregonian |

We visited this attraction as part of an organized tour. As we had wristbands we entered and immediately got in line for the skywalk. It was a little disappointing that you were not able to take your own personal phone/camera out onto the skywalk, but I imagine that policy saves untold dropped phones into the canyon and prevents the instagrammers from hogging the platform. They offer free locker storage in which to place your items.
The tribe offers two lines out onto the skywalk. One is a photo line, where the tribe will take your photos and then sell them to you. The other line bypasses the photo opportunity and allows you immediate access to the walkway after putting on booties over your shoes. I am sure this is to prevent the scratching of the glass floor.
It is an experience to be out on the walkway and look down at a long drop and the views out into the canyon are nice. We spent about 15 minutes on the platform.
I do not know if I would pay for the experience if it had not been offered as part of the tour.

Fantastic views

By MrsToastie |

We were on a day tour with Maxtours when we stopped at the Skywalk bridge. The tour meant we didn't have to get a shuttle in & we could park right there so no queuing. We already had our tickets & had been informed no personal cameras were allowed. You are provided with a free locker to store your gear & go through a security check.
When you head out on the bridge your breathe is taken away in awe. The views are spectacular. A professional photographer takes some shots of you & then leaves you to spend time on your own. We weren't hurried at all & spent plenty of time looking around & through the glass floor.
After you leave you see your photos on a screen. It's all digital. We bought the 8 photo pack for $50 . They were all great, different poses & sitting on the glass floor etc. You also get 23 photos of various shots of the bridge included.
A great experience 😁

Waste of time and money

By Alice A |

Psss! Very expensive and definitely not worth it. Very commortilized, huge lines for everything and no one cares. Long wait in the heavy heat.. pictures are not allowed and you need to pay 25$ for one single digital picture. You can see the same views from different areas without paying so much. 2 hours from Vegas which are waste of time.

0/5 completely unorganised.

By sarah371 |

Left standing in the 45 degree heat waiting 35+ minutes for a bus - no mention of said wait on purchasing tickets.

Sky walk was a complete waste of money. Cannot take your own photos even though you are already paying for access.

Better views from the second stop than the sky walk. They were incredible.

Stood in the heat again, and waited 45+ minutes for the bus.

Huge waste of time waiting for the busses. No water was offered - had to purchase, no updates given on waiting times, no staff at bus queue. Completely unorganised. Could add more than a few choice words here.

#1 Suggestion: car access to sites, or have about 5 more busses running.

Not the best skywalk ever.

By Travelling Pixie |

Skywalk is part of the Canyon West park.
We visited as part of a tour so can’t comment on tickets or prices.
The skywalk itself isn’t anymore amazing then the view you get just standing outside.
There can be a 10-20 min wait to get onto the Walk depending on crowds.
You can’t take any belongings on the wall, free lockers provided.
They then rush you through taking 6 photos without getting to look at the view, you can do that after the photos are taken, however you are then stuck between other groups having their photos taken.
You then queue again to view your photos after, $50, digital only, no prints.
Glad to say I did it but no need to do again.

Spectacular view. Photo disappointing.

By Danny E |

The view was beautiful as I expected. The problem I had was the photography scam the having going. You have to place everything in a locker before you go out on skywalk including your phone. Once on the skywalk you are approached by one of several camera men/women. Ours literally was joking & playing around so much we didn't really feel like he was worried about taking our photo. This took away greatly from our experience.
Afterwards you enter a room where your pics are displayed. Get this you get ONE picture for $25 or all (7) for $50. For this price you think you get all rights to your pictures right? Well no they put their logo on every photo. Also photos are mediocre photos at best!
Included in our ticket was lunch which we decided to do in restaurant above skywalk. The food was good, staff was very nice & view was spectacular. My pics of skywalk I included with the review are from the restaraunt.

Don't bother

By Ross |

Don't bother going here. Go to another part of the Grand Canyon instead.

We were over $90 per person to even get entry to the Skywalk ($70 if we didn't want to go on it and just wanted entry to the Grand Canyon) and still had to queue for over 2 hours to get onto the platform. Then we were told that if the Skywalk closed and we were still queuing, there would be no refunds.

You're not allowed to take any personal belongings, including phones and cameras, however there are an abundance of "official" photographers who, if you're not willing to pay for them to take your photo, will rudely usher you along the walk as quickly as possible to make space for people who are gullible enough to pay for the photos. Wonder why you're not allowed to take your own personal phone or camera on there huh?

Complete tourist trap, run by money grabbing native American Indians who will try and gouge every penny out of you at every turn.

Amazing place you have to visit!

By Deanna H |

AMAZING
we had was absolutely amazing day and the staff were fabulous
Everything about our day was just perfect

Sashay was an absolute delight the entire time we were there, such a kind friendly person who really made our day special

Pete who carried out the ceremony was warm and nurturing he made us feel at ease and was very professional

The boat guide (driver) was very meaningful and spoke with such depth it really made it special and made us feel the importance of the magnificent land and Hualapai Indian Reservation

Just a Big Big thank you from us all for a truly magnificent day that we will remember forever

Well worth doing.

By BlueNoseBrother |

Is it worth it ?
Well we would say definitely, it gives you a spectacular view of amazing location.
It is very safe and I would encourage anyone to challenge and misgivings they may have and visit the Skywalk, you won't regret it.

Save your money

By Irma L |

Save your money for the Skywalk - it's narrow on this bridge, you're not allowed to take anything with you (not even cell phones!) and the view isn't as good as at the second viewing point that you'll be taken to afterwards - there are no barriers there and you have an unrestricted view. There are photographers milling around on the bridge (which doesn't seem like a rip-off when you consider that they want 25 euros for one photo!) who will shoo you back and forth when you just want to look.

Expensive tourist trap

By Lilian |

Absolute tourist trap. No own cameras or cellphones allowed on the skywalk. Could buy foto’s for way to much money. Especially since you already pay a very steep entry fee. Shuttle buses took ages.

Neat to experience but the pictures must be purchased. No personal items on the Skywalk.

By Mark S |

Unfortunately you are not able to take a cell phone, camera or any personal items onto the Skywalk. Any pictures on the Skywalk must be taken by their approved photographer. Then you'll have to buy the photograph for about $15 - $20. No thank you.

Of course you can walk on the Skywalk without getting your picture taken. After you put on the anti-scratch shoe coverings, just tell them you don't want to have your picture taken and you'll get to skip the long line for waiting on a photographer. It's still cool to look down and see the canyon below you.

Terrible management and customer experience

By Chiara M |

To be fair, I will start saying that the West Rim of the Grand Canyon is beautiful. With that said, the Sky West is managed extremely poor and they are very disrespectful towards their customers … I understand that they have a lot of flow due to the beauties of the place, but this does not give them the right to treat their customers so bad.

1. Two days before the reservation (we had a grand package with included also the Helicopter and pontoon ride) they informed us that the boat had to go through maintenance and that the pontoon ride was not available. They did not apologies for the inconvenient, neither proactively provided a partial refund. When I asked for a partial refund given the experience included both helicopter ride and pontoon boat and the pontoon boat was not available, they say absolutely not and that it did no matter and we had to pay the same amount despite it was half of the experience and we could not even get to the river as there was construction at the base of the canyon. What a scam … they did the same to another group of 10 people and we were all charged full price, despite the boat ride was removed from the experience. I escalated this up to the CEO of the company and she said she did not understood why I was looking for partial refund despite she cancelled the pontoon ride and she provided no apologies.
2) someone from the call center decided to void out tickets, so despite we paid and booked on line, we had to spend 40 mins in line at the ticket office to solve the issue and finally get admission ticket. Again we received no apologies and it took them 40 mins to verify and reissue the ticket.

Very unfortunate.

Great experience at Skywalk

By Monika K |

Although we visited Skywalk outside the season, there was a lot of waiting in the queue for the bus to Skywalk, to the other part, and back to the parking lot. If someone wants to eat at the restaurant, they also have to wait a while.
It is not allowed to bring the phone camera to the Skywalk. The photos can be taken by the staff.

Enjoy the Iconic GC!

By sashakeena |

We thoroughly enjoyed walking on the Skywalk to see the amazing views of the Grand Canyon! We were very fortunate to get to the front of the line as the wait was not too long. Sadly no personal belongings are allowed so you will receive a locker to keep your belongings in. Photos will be taken by staff & overall cost wasn’t too bad. We were very happy for this once in a lifetime experience.

Awful scam to bleed every penny they can.

By John M |

Awful scam. You pay to get in and wait for an hour in a que. Thats where you find out that you cannot take your phone on camera onto the glass skywalk and if you want any photos you need to buy the ones they take.

The photos are $25 each for a digital download. No printouts.

We asked why this was the case and were very rudely told "if you go to disney you need to pay for the photos we are a buisness". In disney you can take photos on your phone. Once i pointed this out the person serving us literally FLIPPED the price list and eas giving us all the photos for $50. Thats 15 photos for 50 dollars compared to $25 each.

I will be spending the rest of my visit flipping this sheet when someone is being served untill I am kicked out.

Don’t waste your time or money with this junk

By Ben |

Do not waste your time with this garbage, complete rip off, doesn’t even go over the high bit of the canyon. Can’t take your phone on the deck as you have to pay $50. Absolutely awful, my brother doesn’t like heights and even he was disappointed, this place should be free, horrendous.

ith vist to the skywalk with Laughlin Tour/guide Andrew. Felt like he was part of our family.

By Debbie M |

Great tour with Andrew from Laughlin tours. Picked up us at Riverside Casino. Had a lunch with a singing cowboy.

Overpriced

By Dan Roberts |

Way too overpriced for what you get! You have to leave all personal belongings, including phones, in a locker for “safety”. If you want a picture you have to pay for photographers. I got my phone from the locker and stood in the doorway to take a picture and the security guard made me go onto my camera roll AND my recently deleted to delete the picture. It’s such a waste of money

Mobile phone ban

By Aaron R |

The Skywalker has no cell phone. The glass panes down are dirty. Poor photos are taken (poor image quality). These are also overpriced.

Tip: Eat upstairs in the restaurant and then take your own pictures.

Rip-off

By Hedinger |

Accessibility of the impressive and beautiful landscape only with overpriced tourist buses. Additional payment is required for the Skywalk. Own photos may not be taken and must be taken by a photographer which also costs.

TOTALLY WORTH IT!

By Jesse S |

Absolutely spectacular! You are at a tourist stop, so don't be surprised that they are selling you things or that you have to stand in line - but it is absolutely worth it! I am all for supporting the local economy and Guano point was the highlight of our entire SW trip! Word to the wise: allow yourself plenty of time! We went at sunset in hopes of capturing the rocks at their reddest, but be advised that the sun sets on the opposite side of the canyon. Next time we will go as early as possible. :) No pics of the actual skywalk as they don't allow phones.

Waste of time and money. Very unorganised!

By jakki |

So unorganised! They should not be allowed to sell so many tickets for the same day and not allocate time slots! Queuing in over 110 degree heat with limited shade and seating for over 1 hour is not acceptable. All for approx 5 minute walk on a piece of glass that was quite dirty. Coach tours given priority adding to the wait! Not worth the wait, money and spoilt the whole day as we were all too exhausted from the heat to continue on and see the other parts of the Grand Canton. Such a shame!

There are other places to see the Grand Canyon, spend your time and money at them...

By Flyer188334 |

Extremely overrated and OVER PRICED. There are other places to see the Grand Canyon, go there. The whole venue looks like it was started and never finished. The nice building which houses the SkyWalk is surrounded by chainlink and Home Depot style wood fence panels. There's a nice, new looking parking lot on the road going in, but again it looks like it was started and never finished. Once you get on the Skywalk, you're constantly being pushed around by the photographers for those that purchased the photo packages. I rented a car and drove from Las Vegas, 2.5hr drive one way. Most of the tours from Las Vegas are 12-14hrs and admission to the venue ($50 per person) is not included. Also, the Skywalk is an additional $26. Once inside, the only way to get around is by the buses operated by the venue. There is no cell signal, only the guest wifi they provide. They only thing that looks like it was completed is the over priced souvenir shop.

Must do

By ldjs |

This is definitely a must do at the Western Rim. Our experience was very good, there was no line, just a few minutes of waiting. You have to wear provided covers over your shoes to protect the glass, and put all your belongings, including phones, into a locker.
Views are thrilling, particularly on a nice clear fall day. It certainly is kind of a tourist trap, you cannot take your own pictures and so have to pay for professional picture package.
The staff do a good job with throughput and photo taking and the pictures come out very nicely.
Despite this aspect, it is still a very unique and fun experience.
The glass under our feet was already a bit scratched, and we were told they have to replace it every few years.
I would recommend the skywalk if you touring the Western Rim. If you can either overlook or embrace the commercial aspect, the views are marvelous and the experience breathtaking.

Most Overrated Attraction West of the Mississippi

By Soraya G |

You waste most of your time in line. The views are beautiful of course, but everything else ruins even that for you. We spent more time in line than in the actual Skywalk and enjoying the views. Don't waste your money. Go to the GC National Park and actually hike and enjoy.

Long wait in line

By Joziy |

The place is nice the staff that works there is very helpful. Only thing I didn’t like it was a very long line and a very long wait to go to the skywalk. If I was to do it all over again I would skip the skywalk and not buy those tickets. There’s more there that we should’ve had time to see but we spent two hours waiting in line for the skywalk. 😩

Beautiful views but BIG torture and a LOT of money

By Anna P |

There are many things to point out and say about this experience. When we parked at the Grand Canyon west parking we went in and were shocked. The prices per person are at $80 just to go to the skywalk, you also have to pay for general admission which is $58 but it is just ridiculous that you have to pay that much just to go in. After paying this money making machine, you have to stand in a queue for the shuttle to take you to the eagle point view. I need to say the views are amazing but the torture is big and if you have a big family be prepared to pay a LOT of money. After that, you will walk over to the skywalk entrance where a massive queue is waiting for you. Don’t be fooled that the queue is only outside, it carries on inside as well. Before you go outside on the skywalk, they ask you to put your cell phones in a locker and you are not allowed to take any photographs on the skywalk just so they can make more money by having their own photographers take photographs if you want and make you pay $25 for one photo and much more for more photos. Then, you have to wait in another big queue so you can take the shuttle to go to Guana point or you can stay on the shuttle so it takes you straight back to the main area. Overall, the views are incredible but it is still unbelievable that you have to pay so much just to go and see a natural attraction. It should be accessible to everyone rich or not but if you are rich and patient then this is the place for you.

Don't bother..

By Barker2473 |

Very disappointing, this place is over priced and badly organized. The Hualapai people have clearly got extremely greedy..

Skywalk is a rip-off!

By Helmut O |

After you have paid, all "personal belongings" including your cell phone have to be locked in a locker at the entrance. Supposedly for security reasons. In reality, it's about only your own photographers taking pictures and wanting to sell them at an inflated price. You then wait an hour until everyone on the bridge has raised their arms ten times, jumped into the air with a yuaaa and laid down on the glass floor. Terrible rip-off! Don't buy the tickets and drive straight through to Guana Point, it's ten times better!

Warning! Never take photographer package at Skywalk.

By paulcheeweh |

There is no transparency for the skywalk photo package. It should be clearly stated from the start that the package for photographer is $65 (photos can be downloaded at their website), no actual photo printout). They dont even take good photos, the logo of GRAND CANYON WEST on the lower part of each photo is huge. you need to crap it yourself. I advise everyone to line up on the left of the queue to avoid the photo package on the right. I know it would help the local tribe but this amount is too much, total ripped off. We had the tickets for skywalk as it is already included on the tour bus, instead of taking photos on the skywalk, go to Guano Point via free shuttle, you can take as many photos as you want using your own dslr or your mobile phone for free and views are far better than skywalk.

Awful organization endless waits

By Paolo C |

It's not an easy task to transform a visit to such a stunning place into a miserable experience.
You spend most of the time waiting in line, either for the bus, or for the skywalk itself without seeing anything.
It would be too smart to book the entrance by hour or groups, or even have a simple ticketing system..nope, much better to be in a endless line for hours.
Oh and lets not forget the 50$ to have your digital photo! What a great deal!

A must see. Great day out

By karen w |

Great experience. A must see. Amazing views and history of the area. Best to book a tour so you can relax and enjoy the views on the way

Tourist trap

By Yesh N |

The view at best is mediocre. Biggest drawback is you cannot take your cell phone with you or your personal camera. But they will take pictures of you and sell them to you. They don't mention this until the point of sale while you have stood in line for an hour already.
Guano point has much better views and Zero cost.

Don't use this company.

By Alison C |

Dreadful company. We felt pressured to get a photo done- others not getting photos were hassled to move along. All the photos disappear off the website in 30 days. So if you pay for them and are even one day late they've gone. You've paid for something you've not got. Don't do it. Loads of photo opportunities elsewhere at the Canyon.

Yes, there are lines

By marie b |

Yes, it’s overpriced. Yes, there are lines. Lines for the bus, lines for the skywalk, lines to reboard the bus. Yes I did pay for the photo package, like come on, they were cool photos. I already spent $149 USD, what’s another $50. Beautiful views. Second stop at guano point had better views. Was it overpriced yes, am I glad I experienced it, yes. I’m on vacation, everything is expensive nowadays.

Dissapointing

By Alain D |

The view from the 2nd site(guano) is worth the trip. The skywalk turned out to be very dissapointing. The lineup that was supposed to be 30 min took 1h45. You can't take photo. The staff hold the line so that they can take and sell you photos (borderline scam)

Worth the day trip from Las Vegas.

By DetDuke |

The Skywalk was worth the extra cost; however, the photographs were taken of us were not very good. We didn't have to wait too long to get on the Skywalk. It is unfortunate that you cannot take your camera onto the Skywalk.

Money making scheme for the reservation!

By bevmote |

A total waste of time. You stand inside for over an hour for a two minute walk across a glass horseshoe while they try to sell you pictures. The view is not special. It wastes your time and money l

Requires Pockets Deeper Than The Canyon!

By Airlinebud |

Views were amazing WITHOUT going to the Skywalk! Overpriced, and greedy for something that belongs to God and Nature, not any people (although I understand someone's got to pay for the Skywalk itself). Be prepared to pay for everything from parking, to transport, to lockers, to pictures, to admission!

Do not pay for this attraction

By janbamber2018 |

You are not allowed your own cameras, phones etc onto the skywalk so you either have to pay more to get a photo or get treated like a second class citizen when on it. Plus the views are just as good from the side. It wasted 3 hours of our precious time whilst you queue up to put all your belongings in a locker. Complete rip off.

AVOID THE SKYWALK!

By snoogle478953 |

Don’t bother with the Skywalk. The queue moved really slowly and this was only because the photographers on the Skywalk wanted to take staged photograph everyone on the skywalk to charge you for them on exit. We didn’t want photographs and just felt in the way on the Skywalk. Plenty of other good opportunities to take your own photographs elsewhere at the Canyon

Too pricey and less experience

By Thomas |

I drove with my family to the Skywalk. Had to around 260+$for one person skywalk and rest to enter the area. You habe not spot to take pics on the Canyon as it is all blocked by the agencies. I have visited 40+ countries and but this trip to skywalk was on of the worst experience. I actually thought to buy things to support local natives, but with this I won't spend a cent on this anymore.

A Little Lower Than Our Expectation

By Travelled_AS |

We travelled to Grand Canyon West by rental car. Note that the 'America The Beautiful' National Parks pass doesn't get you into this one. Once you park in the car park you pay the general admission fee that everyone has to pay regardless and added the Skywalk as an option. This works out cheaper than deciding to do the Skywalk later as separate cost is higher. After purchasing your admission and any combo you can jump on a free shuttle bus that loops to firstly Eagle Point where the Skywalk is located and then to Guano Point before coming back to the start point.

We had been to the Grand Canyon before and done the helicopter ride down to the bottom and jumped in a boat on the river before helicoptering back up and that was awesome but as we hadn't done the Skywalk we thought we'd try it out this time. Maybe our expectations were set too high with the amazing surroundings and our previous experience but we ended up a little underwhelmed. It's still good but we just felt it would have been better if located somewhere slightly better. The view through the glass floor to the canyon bottom wasn't what we thought it would be and if they could have made it further out into the canyon it would have probably been better. There's only a slight window of the river off to the side but the surrounding walls are still good to see.

The Skywalk is located at Eagle Point but in our opinion Guano Point is by far the best spot at the Grand Canyon. More expansive views that include the river and if possible a bit more impressive in general. Not sure why the Skywalk couldn't have been built there. Obviously reasons but if it was at Guano then could've been an incredible addition to an already unbelievable natural must see.

No no no skywalk!

By Terri B |

Do not pay extra for the skywalk!!! The pictures are so deceiving. I gave it a 2, because really…it’s the grand canyon, right? But please skip the skywalk, pay less and just purchase a ticket to get you to guano point. The skywalk is just misleading and disappointing!

Disappointing

By Надежда Б |

Very disappointed experience. We spent 1.5 hour in line. We can’t take pictures even with our phones, because we should leave all our belongings in locker. The glass bridge is all over in scratches, you see nothing under your feet.
Do not waste your time and go to Guano point first.

Over 50% of visit standing in line

By Jenny L |

Our coach trip allowed 3 hours for the visit, sadly 1.5 hours were spent standing in line for the pre booked skywalk experience and a further 10-15 minutes waiting for the shuttle bus back to the coach park which didn’t allow much time to spend taking in the rest of the views.

Had there been a notice on the line to say 90 mins from this point etc we would have probably made the decision not to bother, but by the time we’d worked out they allow 30 through per session we’d already invested an hour in the line.

Once we reached the bridge the views were spectacular and the glass floor a little vertigo inducing.

As you aren’t allowed to take cameras there were professional photographers offering snaps, but we just felt like we were in the way a few times.

I’d give this a miss unless the line is much much shorter or you have driven yourself and don’t mind standing in line.

Definitely face your fears!!

By BigDogKat |

Oh wow!! Having a fear of falling from a great height, the skywalk was one way of facing my fear and what a joy it was. I wasn’t scared at all! The bridge doesn’t sway or move, so it’s almost like you’re not even 4,000 feet above the bottom of the Canyon floor. The photographers who take the pictures have a set grouping of photos they take and I recommend you decide some of your own stances. Make those moments your own. You can’t take your cell with you so you’ll have to utilize the on site photographers.

You live every day… collect memories not stuff. You got this!!!

Cloudy Canyon

By MB201065 |

I would love to give 5 stars for this visit. However, I’m not able to do so because the day that we visited the weather was atrocious with rain, sand storms and 50 mile/hour winds! So alas, couldn’t see much below or of the Grand Canyon. Winds were so strong we had to leave after half an hour. We couldn’t be scared with the drop because we could only see a short distance below.

You have to put your items in lockers and no phones, so you can’t photo on the skywalk but can have your photo taken professionally for $50!

What a Joke!

By RhodaC |

What a joke!!!

Save your money! I was upset that I failed to check this reviews before I booked my trip. I really should have, I don't understand why you can't take your own photos up there. They should be able to make money already by having people pay to get in. What a waste!

An Indian nation, sovereign, courageous people, Native Americans, who do not want to disappear.

By ClubEpicuriste |

Elysabeth, our Expert in Civilization and Tradition, was invited by the Dean, Ahmad, of the nation, sovereign, Indian, of the four Hualapai or Walapai tribes, Amerindian people, recognized, since 1883, by the federal government of the United States, living in Arizona, northwest, in Coconino, Yavapai and Mohave counties. Of a population of 2,300 individuals, 1,360 reside on the Indian Reserve. Their name Hualapai, means Great Pine People for pai -People- and hwa for ponderosa pine. Yavapai for the sun people, Havasupai, for the blue-green water people and Pai-Pai, who are the inhabitants of Hualapai. Their territory, traditional, covers a strip of 174 km along the pine forests than the south shore of the Grand Canyon of Colorado. the Grand Canyon is 450 km long, for a width of 5,500 to 30,000 m, with a depth of 1,300 m. It is called WIkaila in Yavapai. Their capital is the town of Peach Springs, with the villages of Valentine and Grand Canyon West. In southern Utah and northern Arizona, the Grand Canyon stretches across a whopping 1,600 m deep, 446 km long and 29 km wide gorge. A unique, majestic landscape of red rocks, carved by the Colorado River for 6 million geological years, with rocky strata of Grand Staircase, dating from 2 billion years, on 4,927 km2 of the national park, classified in 1919 and listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. This Amerindian people have also been operating the large, horizontal, engineering wonder, horseshoe-shaped Skywalk at Eagle Point since 2007. Cantilever 21 m from the edge of the cliff. On a glass floor, 8 cm thick, able to support 74 tons, or 800 people over 92 kg, and able to withstand winds of 160 km/h and an earthquake of magnitude 8, equipped with vibration dampers, 10 feet wide, by 70 feet long, this tourist attraction, and panoramic viewpoint, dominates the side canyon of the river, at 1,220 m, or 4,000 feet, above the void, but limited to 120 visiting people, equipped with overshoes, to avoid slipping and scratching the glass floor. Photography is prohibited and taken by Native Americans. It should be noted that it was the French company of Saint-Gobain that realized it from 2004 to 2007. The observation is bitter that this over-attendance, observed will disturb, definitively, the wildlife hence rattlesnakes and tarantulas, and the natural calm of the place, and natural site, exceptional, still considered sacred places. Park rangers conduct 300 rescue operations a year. The other sites, the time trail or interpretive trail, which goes from the Yayapai Geology Museum to the village to observe at a depth of 1,800 m the half of the earth’s history that dates back 1.8 billion years, the Grand Canyon West zip line, of 2018, composed of two quadruple zip lines, side by side, at more than 1,000 feet from the bottom of the canyon and 50 miles per hour in speed, On the plateau the rocks of the Permo-Triassic of 250 million years and in the distance the volcanic cones of eruptions 1 million years ago. At the authentic village of Eagle Point the traditional dwellings, teepees and rustic constructions, earthen ovens, sweat lodge, the amphitheatre with the musical sounds and magical dances of Bird Singers. An overdevelopment, and also a controversy, envisaged for the survival of a people who receive no aid from the United States government.

Cost prohibitive pricing

By theKiwi |

In the past, visitors have been able to select from pricing options that fit their budget. Now, all visitors have no choice but to pay the $99 all access pass. No opting out of skywalk for a lower cost. After driving 2 hours from Vegas, the four of us didn’t want to pay $400+, and we didn’t. Shame on this attraction for pricing out families.

Just do it.. dont overthink about west rim vs south rim

By vernon r |

I see a lot of negative reviews. But, think about this - you spend 50 bucks per person to enter the park. and 20$ to experience the engineering marvel skybridge... so why not just do it and mark it off the list? i mean you went all the way there and hold off the bridge for 20 bucks extra? If spending 20 bucks extra is too much, i would suggest you skip 3 starbucks drinks to compensate. January happens to be not so busy, so got on the skybridge in 15 minutes and stayed on for 45 mins. definitely worth it for 20 extra. Did the meal as well. good to sit in the lounge which overlooks the canyon, have your meal and soak in the natural beauty. Guano point is breathtaking, but i could only spend 45 minutes over there. If i was not on a tour, i would have spent couple hours to soak it in. It snowed a little while i was there at Guano point and that experience is surreal as well. Climbing the little mountain kept us warm and snow really didnt spoil the experience at all. There's no wind interestingly! Eagle point had a lot of wind, but not guano point. Not sure why!

Not much Fun! Very Commercial!

By Tom L |

My kids and I were at the Skywalk, we paid about $25 per included in the whole trip at the Canyon. To be honest, the Skywalk are very commercial (I know, but very), customers are not allowed to take your own phone / cameras /photos but only to pay them. There many camera men there. The floor windows are blurred, the U walk is very short. Not much fun. Better to walk outside or driving to Guano point few miles away, it has nature spots that you can walk up and take pictures as many as you wanted.

Not worth, over price, bad customer serive

By daniel d |

I spend close to $150 for my wife and I (purchase ticket at the gate is more expensive compared on line). On the Skywalk, when my wife check the time and text messages. A security man think she try to take a picture with a watch. He demands my wife to show her jacket’s pocket. She pull out a key from the jacket to show him. There is no respect to customer. Bad customer service. Rather drive 2 more hours to South Rim, save over $100 and has a better view.

Don’t waste your money

By Shay M |

This would have been really cool if they let you take your phone to take pictures. Instead, they only let their photographers take photos and you have to pay a heap for them. If you opt to not have a photographer, you just get shoved along and can’t stop and enjoy the view/experience as the photographers just keep asking you to move.
If we had known about the no phone rule prior to booking we would not have booked it. A shame, as it would be really awesome if you could take photos and weren’t treated like second class citizens if you opt not to pay for photos

Got to try it!

By Vanessa S |

This was totally worth it. I got a package deal to enter the Skywalk and have a lunch voucher. It was supper easy, you park in a lot, and a bus takes you to the view point. You do have to wait in a line to get out onto the skywalk, but no big deal. Once you put all your belongings into a free locker, you have 2 lines to choose from, a line to just go and walk out on the skywalk, or a line to have a photographer take some pictures of you. After you're done, there's a restaurant above for lunch. There's a bus/tram to take you to the next look out points. My husband and I truly enjoyed this experience, and the great picture taking views we had.

Great

By Roam53634261994 |

Someone on these reviews said they force u to take a 2 hr bus tour.we didn't see anything like that.the view from skywalk was great.and got senior discount. The restaurant was closed at evening so I don't know anything about that. It was great sight seeing

A lesson in greed, both current and historical

By MAX M |

The good: About 2 1/2 hour drive from Vegas. One view point (Guano) is nice.

The bad:
- Ridiculously expensive
- Cramped facility (ticket sale and souvenir shop)
- The glass bridge is underwhelming
- Chaotic services

After the trip, I read about the ugly fight between the Hualapai tribal council and developer David Jin. Regardless of legal outcomes, the ethics perspective left a really bad taste. Had I known about the history of this "attraction", I wouldn't visit. The Grand Canyon is the Grand Canyon, and it's spectacular, but not from this view point.

Abhorrent camera scam unethically sold as a safety measure! (You’ll notice no pictures in reviews)

By Calum |

The actual experience would be a solid 9, amazing views of the west rim below you…..but that’s as far as it goes. For the cost we maybe spent 5-10 mins max on the actual skywalk after waiting in line.

As for the business practice it is abhorrent not just a tourist trap usual!

We originally got told you cannot bring personal items on as dropping these on the glass can scare people who are not comfortable with heights (what you’d be doing in that situation then is a head scratcher)

When you arrive it is for ‘safety and to protect the glass’

You are then stripped of your possessions and told to place in a locker….what they mean is photography equipment (phone/camera). You then go through a metal detector and my pockets were checked. At this point my b*llsh*t meter was ringing.

This was confirmed when you got on the skywalk, more photographers than people, all with big heavy cameras none of which are on the neck straps (safety?) security card glaring at you to check for phones! Unsurprisingly they then sell these photos at $25 a pop.

To add to this I got prompted to move from the viewing points so they could take peoples pictures.

Just avoid or sneak a phone in. Worst they can do is kick you out once you get the photo 😂

It's not worth the skywalk. It's a trade.

By Eduardo Jorge G |

When I took the excursion with Gray Line they did not inform me that taking photos was prohibited. 8 poorly taken photos that had little of the landscape and they wanted to charge US$50 for nothing. And since the group was large we wasted time from photo to photo and there was no space to enjoy the landscape. I do not recommend it. You can refuse to be photographed and enjoy the landscape or save the entrance fee and enjoy the outside.

Save your time and money

By AlexTheJock |

My wife and I, and our two long-time friends, all of us in our mid-sixties decided on arrival at the Grand Canyon with an organised coach trip to do the Sky Walk. We queued up for around half an hour to buy the tickets – it really was slow going. Some of it was down to visitors who couldn’t make their minds up, and some of it down to the staff who were getting involved with other ticket sellers’ problems, when I really think that they should have been trying to reduce the length of the long queue, and leaving the ticket seller with the problem to resolve it themselves. There were only a couple of ticket sellers on duty to try and deal with selling tickets to quite a large crowd of people. We only had a very limited time at the Grand Canyon, so queuing up for an extended period wasn’t the best utilisation of our time. Anyway, we already had General Admission tickets, so we had to pay another $33 per person for the Sky Walk. When we got to the front of the queue we obviously knew what we wanted and were hoping for a quick departure, but then the credit card machine would not accept any of four cards that we tried, all of which we knew were active with absolutely no problems from our end as we had used them constantly during our trip to the US (and many times after this occasion), so in the end, luckily for all concerned, we had enough cash to pay for the experience.

What we didn’t realise, as we had never been here before, was that we would now have to wait in another long queue for a bus to take us up to the Sky Walk. Time was ticking away and we had neither seen the Grand Canyon properly or even reached the Sky Walk. It took another half an hour before we got to the Sky Walk reception, and you’ve guessed it, another queue to wait to get in and drop all the prohibited items in a free locker. It’s at this point that we realised that we would not be able to take anything onto the Sky Walk to take photos, and that we would be beholding to the photographers onsite to get decent photos of our small group of four, but we also realised that the costs were mounting up, as we would have to pay for them as well.

After dropping everything off in the locker we joined yet another queue, but luckily we were soon outside on the Walk itself. To say that we were underwhelmed would be an understatement. Admittedly this was our first real view of the Grand Canyon, but was it really worth $33 per person – I really don’t think so. Apart from this you also pick up a photographer as soon as you walk onto the Sky Walk, and it’s obvious that he wants to hurry you along to take the few photos he is going to take of our small group, and then move onto more people, so we felt under a certain amount of pressure as soon as we walked onto the Walk. We found ourselves around at the exit door in no time at all – I think that we could have stayed out longer, but it felt so much like it was the end when the photographer took his last shot just before the exit door, and that you should just step off the walk and collect your belongings.

Of course we still had to pay for our photos yet. Then another problem to pile on the pressure of our short visit to the canyon, in that the wireless camera had not uploaded our photos onto the computer, so the girl had to get on the radio to request that the photographer come back in to unload them manually onto the PC. By now we were getting anxious that we were not going to have any time to see anything else of the canyon, and that we would have to go straight back to the coach. The photographer duly arrived and we were soon viewing our photos on the computer’s screen. We decided to pay $69 for the complete photo package, which we could all then download. Quite a bit of money for eight photos that you don't even get prints of, but it was the most reasonable option for us to purchase photos of this so called experience.

Now, do I think the Sky Walk was an exceptional experience or worth the money? I would have to say no to both of these questions. We had time to go outside and view the canyon from the areas around the building, and got some really good shots of our own. We also managed to scoot up to Guano Point and quickly take some photos there, so we all decided that the Sky Walk was a waste of our time and money, and hence I wouldn’t recommend this experience at all.

Over $350 and 3+ hours for a 3 minute experience. Go to the Rim Trail in the South Canyon instead!

By tedtheo |

This was an amazingly bad experience and I don’t believe it was a one off. First the prices are outrageous. Our tickets were $277 for two adults and two young children. I wish that were the only issue as I’d be willing to pay that for a great experience with my family. Shortly after we parked we went into the building where you buy tickets (if you haven’t already) and we were really hungry because the drive is beautiful but totally desolate. There are no restaurants for miles so unless you bring food you will likely be hungry. They had a snack bar there and the only thing on the menu was hot dogs which was fine but they were $9.75 a piece for just standard dogs. They were just your basic Oscar Mayer dogs with nothing on them. So add another $40 for some pretty lame hot dogs which now brings the tab to $317.

After a crazy packed bus ride from the parking area to the skywalk, the next unpleasant surprise was the line. We went on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and we had read the crowds are more manageable. That was definitely not the case which is no one’s fault but it took us almost 2.5 hours to get through the line. We waited outside for about 90 mins and then went inside and I thought we were golden but there was another hour long line inside the building. Admittedly I struggle with lines but anyone would struggle with this. It was miserable.

Once it was our turn to get on the skywalk we were told that all of our possessions had to be put in a locker including our cell phones before we could enter. So no pictures other than the professional ones that they provide. The whole things is nothing more than a money grab and it stinks. As soon as you enter the skywalk you are paired up with a photographer who follows you around for the 3 minutes or so that you’re on deck. I will say that the view is amazing. It is really incredible BUT we got just views that were every bit as good if not better when we hiked the Rim Trail in the South Canyon. So a 3 hour way for 3 mins of views that you’re not able to take pictures of. Oh but they’ll sell you their pictures for $50 or $25 for just one of them.

That now brings the tab to $367 and 3 hour of your time for literally a 3 min experience. The skywalk is a nothing but a money grab and trust me when I tell you that you will see as good if not better views on the Rim Trail and places like Mather’s Point. Plus you can take your time, take your own pictures and hike down into the Canyon if that’s what you feel like doing.

Save your money and go to the South Canyon. It’s SO much better and less expensive!

Rip off avoid

By janbamber2018 |

This is a complete rip off. You are better going to South Rim of the canyon, but if you must go to this section do not pay nor queue for hours for the canyon skywalk, you get much better views from the other lookout points in this area. You are not permitted to take your own photos, everything that has that capability has to be stored in lockers and that is what the lengthy queue is for. They then take pictures of which there is of course a hefty charge.
We also had a flight booked which was cancelled as we arrived with no warning and again a lengthy queue and hassle to get our money back as we insisted on having it returned there and then and not leaving to make a later claim, had two very disappointed children

Beware rural gasoline prices

By Jim L |

Cool but no cameras allowed and in a very rural area.

Gas prices are nearly double in rural stations and the Skywalk is in a rural location. Fill up tank in Kingman prior to proceeding to Grand Canyon West. If coming up from south you may want to fill up in Wickenburg as Wikieup prices are nearly 2X Wickenburg or Kingman.

Worth the trip

By Tvler8 |

Incredible nature visit. There are some restriction that have to be followed. No cameras, no cell phones, and you must put on supplies overshoe booties. The lockers are free.

Don’t bother with a picture

By GEODIAN |

Marvellous location, and a great experience.
But…here’s the thing
You are not allowed to take any thing with you, lockers are provided.
You are given coverings for your shoes. Note none of the photographers wore them.
$25 USD for one photo, that you are given a voucher for to download later, no folder to put said photo in that you have to print of yourself. How costly would this have been, a couple of cents ?
And when you finally view picture, you see other people in this picture, and will have to crop them out., before you take and get printed at your expense.
Save yourself the money, get another person to take your picture outside

Skywalk Bridge experience..... I think not!

By Linda C |

Don't waste your money. A few minutes ride on a shuttle bus to the bridge but queuing was over 2 hrs with only 3 mins on the bridge! The glass is very scratched & dirty & you're not allowed to take your own photos as they have a photographer which is extra to the admission fee of $78 per person inc taxes & for what....total chaos & disorganisation. As my partner is afraid of heights, we asked if it was OK just to sit quietly in a shady spot as no "experiences were wanted or going to be had" (experiences seem to be mostly cheap looking souvenir shops, food, drinks, etc at an additional cost of course) Yes no problem we were told ...... for $57 plus tax!!!! We were totally shocked at the exploitation & sadly are not able to recommed this at all. Many people were unhappy the day we went & all said the same.

Scamland

By cathy b |

So complete scam. So you pay 34 dollars to access the skywalk but without a phone or camera...you leave all your belongings at the entrance and you are accompanied by a photographer who takes 8 photos for 50 dollars.
Don't expect to hide a phone to take your own photos. You are accompanied all the way.

Biggest ripoff i have experienced.

By Guide26223457557 |

Blatant ripoff of your money. Very expensive for a basic view and on top of that they won’t allow you to take pictures with phone, and charge you $50 for four photos. I wouldn’t visit skywalk or recommend it to anyone. You can see better views in south rim and north rim. Not worth it, Never ever go.

Rip Off - don't waste your money

By Richard W |

Waste of money - massive rip off. Please do not go.

Massively profiteering out of the name Grand Canyon.

I really really wish we hadn't gone.

Save your money.

Even the Skywalk is a massive disappointment

Not worth the money

By Dave H |

The walkway is interesting but I'd expect more for the ridiculous money. $409USD for a family of 4 to walk on the skywalk. They say you get a bunch of other stuff included, but in reality there's no other value. If we were aware it cost that much we probably would have avoided it. They prey on tourists driving 2 hours to get there and then not having an option. If the price was reasonable, it could have been a much more enjoyable experience.

Very very desapointing … do not go!

By GALLOT N |

Our worst experience during our road trip accross US western parks. Totally overpriced for what it is. 75$ per person( admission fée + Sky walk). This area is not part of the Grand Canyon National Park but managed by local Indian community. The welcome is very bad and you have the feeling that you bother them when you ask questions! If you want to see thé Grand Canyon in normal conditions you should go directly to the south entrance. Please note that on the skywalk you are not authorised to take photos but of course you can get a photo for 25$ more!!!amazing!

Don’t spend your money, just go to Guano point incl in your entry ticket!

By Miklesp |

Do not waste your time and money for the skywalk!
The Guano point is way better and is included in your ticket…
Skywalk is expensive, you only spend 10-15 for a big price and as you cannot have your phone, you cannot make pictures so you have to buy them! 26$ for 1 and digital only! 55$ for the “pack” with 29 additional pics (which are honestly not good…).
They make basic pictures you feel really like a tourist from who they just want the money…
Don’t’ waste your time and money there, the view is way better at Guano point!
We did this 1 year after it opened and we were already a bit disappointed, we wanted to do it with our kids but we will never do it again…
Special thanks for the bus drivers! They are friendly, give a lot of tips and really deserve their tip!

No photos please!!!!

By Darlene S |

No personal photos allowed!!! This was only told to us at time of entry onto the skywalk NOT at time of ticket purchase. Had we known we would not have rented a car and driven there from Vegas. Travel to Newfoundland Canada and see the mountains for free!!!
Additionally we were there less than an hour which included the bus wait and was quite expensive.

Not Worth It: Be Informed or Be disappointed.

By Rose C |

The views were incredible at Grand Canyon West but so are the views at any given location in the surrounding 500 miles.

My family and I travel often and I'm a big spender when it comes to experiences but this was by far the biggest rip off and disappointment of any experiences my family and I have ever encountered. Part of this was MY FAULT. I take the blame for not being 100 percent informed. Which is why I'm writing this review for my fellow travelers.

Prices: When you go onto the website, ticket prices seem reasonable $20 or so per person to walk on the skywalk. However, this is an ADDED experience to your ticket. It was 55 a person just to enter and additional for the skywalk. After 4 tickets (one minor discount for ONE military discount, because they didn't apply it to dependents) it was a total of $300+. Be informed that this is NOT GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK. If you want to go to the National Park it's an additional but very REASONABLE $35. I was disappointed that after I spent over $300 and a lengthy drive to the middle of NOWHERE I was limited to TWO SPOTS, not allowed to take pictures of the main attraction and wasn't even going to be able to see the rest of the Grand Canyon.

Photocopied Skywalk?: Typically before I travel, I see pictures online and when I arrive in person the photos do it NO JUSTICE. However, with the Skywalk, it was the COMPLETE opposite. I was it and asked if that was it. I honestly thought that was like a mini skywalk and the other one was somewhere else. I realized why you are not allowed to drive onto the property, are shuttled to the 2 spots and have to pay before you go to the SKYWALK. There is NO WAY I would have paid $300 dollars had I actually known what it looked like and how small it is.

No Pictures: NO PERSONAL ITEMS ALLOWED ON THE SKYWALK. No phones or cameras means no pictures. Before walking onto the Skywalk. I TOALLY understood they were trying to take care of the glass and prevent it from scratches. Once I I walked up there, I didn't understand what they were protecting. There were scratches everywhere!! My fiancée forgot to put his keys into the locker and was reminded to empty pockets and put his keys to make sure they didn't fall out and scratch the glass. Then this SAME GENTLEMEN tells me "Don't forget the key to your locker!" Sooooo.... The car keys can damage the surface but the locker keys will not?" I couldn't see the logic. He was also told to remove his watch but upon closer inspection he realized it was a standard watch and not a Smart watch, so he was able to wear it. It had nothing to do with the watch but more the ability of the watch being able to snap a photo or not. There is obviously no risk to dropping a device that is strapped to your wrist and causing damage. At this point I realized it was not about protecting the glass or personal items and more about milking their guests for every penny they could.

The LINE: Be prepared to wait over an hour for your photos. Since you are not allowed to take pictures, you know, because you might drop your camera and damage their glass, there are photographers you have cameras 10 times the size and weight of everyone's standard phone size that are totally safe to use on the Skywalk!! Hmm... MAYBE they would have happy customers and make more money selling phone straps to assure customers don't drop their phones. They get their money, we get our pictures. Everyone is happy!

Experiences on Property: There are 2 stops: Skywalk Area that includes a view of Eagle Point and a Native American Village and Guano Point. The homes were a nice addition to the tour. It took us about 15-20 minutes to walk through, read, take pictures and enjoy the village. Guano Point was stunning! We enjoyed the hike and even my Disney loving teens had a little fun recreating a scene from the Lion King on one of the rocks. Gorgeous Photos. Gorgeous, FREE, photos !! While it was a nice hike and had great views, I've had similar experiences at National parks for $35 dollars and similar Indian Culture experiences with authentic Indians perfuming for $7 a person.

This attraction definitely needs to do something in the future to keep attracting customers. I felt like I was being negative Nancy but saw that even the 4 and 5 star reviews have the same concerns regarding prices and photos. Right now, they are still a new location and have curious people going but they're leaving disappointed. To have a happy customer is more valuable because they'll go back and share this experience with friends, encourage others to go and might even revisit. This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience for my family simply because It is NOT WORTH going to again.

Time consuming

By ymuehe |

First of all: the view into/over the Grand Canyon is overwhelming.
On our round trip, Grand Canyon West Rim & Skywalk was conveniently located on the way from Kingsman towards Hoover Dam and Las Vegas.
We arrived at the Skywalk early in the morning and had not expected such waiting times at this time of day and outside of peak travel times.
If you don't have an online ticket, you wait at the ticket counter, then wait for the transfer bus, then line up outside the Skywalk before you can enter the building, line up inside the building for the security check, line up for the photo before entering the bridge.
Almost 2 hours had already passed by the time we entered the bridge, and there was no indication of the (remaining) waiting time at any of the involuntary stops.
How long do you think you have to wait in queues there when it is much more crowded during peak travel times than at the end of October?
Taking photos or filming is prohibited, but there is the option of having photographers take pictures on site and buying them when you leave the building. Unfortunately, there was no transparent information about the cost of these photos, which you only find out at the end at the ticket office (as of October '23: $25 per photo).
The time spent on the Skywalk is relatively short.

We skipped the other viewing points because we didn't have enough time for that, as we had to wait for the transfer bus on the way back to the parking lot.

Our conclusion: we had expected it to be very touristy and we knew the entrance fee in advance because we had booked the tickets online. However, the waiting times are disproportionate to what is on offer. Next time we would invest the time in a little more driving time and discover the beautiful Grand Canyon elsewhere.

Vegas to Grand Canyon

By larsval02 |

I was not sure if I wanted to do this trip, but glad that I did!! We went from Vegas to the skywalk. About 2 to 2.5 hr drive, gas up before leaving Vegas, limited cell service in areas. This area is not a part of the national park system. It is on an Indian reservation. Park in parking lot and then enter. Cost might vary, but at least $50 per person and then can pick extras beyond that. We did the $50 per person entry fee and $25 per person skywalk. Take bus out to eagle point (5 min ride). No cell phone or belongings allowed on skywalk. Free lockers provided just prior to entering. For us, there was no wait but lots of people out on the skywalk, so hard to get a good view at times. They will take pictures for you (for a cost). Then take bus to 2nd location. The views from the 2nd location are AWESOME!!!! Then took bus back to entry point. I was very happy with our experience!! The cost to get in was with it for the views that we saw!! Just be careful with kids/elderly as no barriers at the 2nd location (you can walk right up to the edges).

Avoid this money grab!

By cleanhonda |

I probably have nothing new to add. My wife and her family came here a few years ago and were able to take all the pictures they wanted... free. Now, you can't even think about taking a picture yourself. First, you have to pay to get in. Then you have to put all of your belongings in a locker. Once you finally make it to the actual skywalk, you are asked to pose in various locations around the skywalk. That being the case, its hard to actually see the Grand Canyon (West is only a very small part) because of all the employees asking visitors to pose for pictures. These employees don't care what the pictures look like. They stand out in the sun all day taking pictures of people they will never see again. Where is the incentive to get a decent shot? Once you're finished seeing what little there is to see, you are herded back inside to get your gear and buy your pictures. One picture is $25, the entire package (13 pictures) is $50. They give you a receipt with information on how to download the pictures. The employees who explain the process and get your payment have very little patience. Like the photographers, they stand there all day, doing the same thing, so why be nice to customers? I left with the feeling of being completely ripped off.

Tourist trap - waste of money!

By Margaret J |

This is one of things my husband was so excited about on our trip. After paying $227 (for two) we took the shuttle to the skywalk, only to find it was closed due to lightening somewhere in the canyon! I know there is no controlling the weather and that you can’t be out there during lightening. My complaint is that they sold us (and many other people) tickets when they knew it was closed!! We went back to the main building and along with several other people proceeded to ask for a refund, which they not so politely refused! Said we had use of the shuttle bus and could still see the canyon. We would never had paid that just to ride a shuttle bus and see the canyon when we could have done that other places for a lot less. On top of that they were continuing to see tickets to people knowing the skywalk was closed!!! We were telling people so they didn’t waste their money.

In addition, when we did get up to the skywalk we were disappointment on the size. In pictures it appears to be much larger and makes it look like it goes out over the canyon much further. It was less than impressive. Don’t waste your money and just see the canyon elsewhere. Plus it is a LONG drive to get to the skywalk.

Total rip off with very rude people running the show.

By jjbenedetto |

Thought I did my research before I went but I must of missed a few things. They stop you a few miles before the site to make you wait in a real long, slow moving line to but tickets. We asked the people working at the check out counter what the price was for just the bus ride to the location. Every single one of them turned there head away or looked down and said they didn't know the price. One guy said it changed every day! They wanted you to wait in line and figure after all that time you would just pay the price. About 54? a person just to ride out to the walkway and another 28 if you want to walk on it. No pictures allowed at all if you go. They won't even stop the bus for you to take pictures along the way. Did not go out there but I can't imagine the view is any better or different than the East side of the Canyon where you can stop and take pictures.
I feel bad because I think the idea started with good intentions but has turned into a total scam, not sure they will be around much longer once the word gets out.

Grand Canyon Skywalk, to do or not to do ?

By Bluefronted |

Visited the Grand Canyon west on 06/01/2023. Did a self drive from Vegas.
Beautiful sites . Well organised. A bit pricey at $50pp and on top of that $26pp to walk the skywalk . To me this is a rip off. We didnt do the skywalk as we have intentions to visit other areas of the Canyon which can be viewed for free.
If you intend to drive other areas that are part of the Grand Canyon i dont recommend this visit. Quite a good part of the canyon can be viewed from a lookout just before the security check for free. If you are in Vegas or LA on a short visit then maybe consider it but Google first as there are many areas that can be visited for free.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

By Bill H |

The skywalk was ok. You can’t take your cell phone on the skywalk “for safety reasons”. Actually you can’t take it out so they can CHARGE YOU for a photo! The tickets are a rip off as was everything else. The person at the information booth couldn’t be bothered to give you any information, The view points are nowhere as good as GC south, they have an “art gallery” with ALL reproduction art, nothing original. The food prices were outrageous, and mass produced “Native American” souvenir’s. All in all, a wasted 2 1/2 hrs trip from Vegas

Terrible experience with loud club music !!!!!!

By Suchard007 |

Complete rip off. Absolutely no need to go here to experience the amazing sight of the Grand Canyon. The reason I’ve marked it as Terrible, is that whilst on the skywalk they were playing very loud club night style music ! WTF! Having been in Las Vegas the night before it sounded as if we were back there. No-one around to pass our comments to, only the photographers. Don’t waste your money. Just head to the GC and see it in its natural state and with only natural sounds around you .

Great corner of the Grand Canyon with the special Skywalk.

By juergen l |

Please also read the reviews on Google, as they are more balanced.

Maybe two things first: 1. yes, it is not allowed to take cell phone photos on the Skywalk. But there are plenty of great opportunities to photograph this natural wonder before and after. And my personal opinion: it is also nice not to be constantly surrounded by excited tourists who want to take selfies. 2. admission is relatively expensive. But please inform yourself beforehand and do not complain afterwards. But I understand the criticism.

But now, let's get straight to the process and what to expect: with your ticket you can park directly in the parking lot in front of the visitor center. Then it's a few steps to the visitor center (large, white tent) where your tickets are scanned or you can buy tickets there on site. A shuttle bus then takes you to the Skywalk Center in a few minutes. As soon as you get off, you have this incredible view of the Grand Canyon and plenty of photo opportunities on your own cell phone.

Then you go to the actual Skywalk, where you need your tickets again. You have to put your backpacks, keys and cell phones in the free lockers and you have to put on overshoes to "protect the glass". Then you go outside and you are asked if you want to take photos. You can just have the photos taken, there is no obligation to buy and no pressure whatsoever. If you decide to take the photos, you will receive an email link to download them. You only receive them digitally. There is no time limit on the Skywalk. The staff are also happy to give information.
Then go outside, take off your shoes, collect your things and then either go to the exit or go to the photo counter to collect the pictures or look at them and decide.

Then you take the bus again and then, in my opinion, you come to the real highlight: the second stop is Guano Point 📷And here you have an almost 360° view of this natural wonder with great photo opportunities!

Many people also use this stop to do some climbing. Behind every stone there is a new perspective.

Then the bus goes back to the parking lot.

At the end of May there was hardly any waiting time here. We were there on a Saturday.

Conclusion: the Grand Canyon is absolutely breathtaking here too. The second stop in particular is a highlight. The unique thing, however, is the Skywalk. The tribe charges for it. The view from the Skywalk is neither better nor worse.

We liked it a lot, but you decide😀.

Get the pics!

By Travelbug |

The west rim was one of our day trips from a recent stay in Vegas. Took a little over two hours to get there from Vegas. Parked, paid and hopped on the shuttle to Eagle Point & Skywalk. You are not permitted to take any personal items with you out on the skywalk. They have their people to take photos of you and your group. The link to the photos that they took of our group of 8 was $50.00. We LOVED the pics they took, we did not think that was an unreasonable price. The ranger on the skywalk was great to talk to and gave us much information. We did get lunch at the trailer outside of the sky walk, that was pricey! A hotdog was $10, bottled water $5.

Disappointing money grab

By Alexis F |

Left feeling scammed. Expect to find a line outside and another hidden from view winding inside the skywalk. 2 hours wasted in line, plus another 90 minutes waiting for shuttles. Oh, and they won’t allow personal cameras or phone so that you have to purchase their own photographer pics at another $25 a pop. Save your $70-90 per family member and just use those wasted hours to drive to the South Gate of the National Park. The scenic view is amazing, but the experience is a scam.

Yes to Grand Canyon West, NO to the skywalk - overpriced and no cameras allowed!

By yucanuck |

If you have not been to Grand Canyon, the Grand Canyon West (esp from Las Vegas) is worth the trip. The Grand Canyon Skywalk at Eagle Point (first stop on the Grand Canyon West bus) is definitely not worth the price of admission!

While the views are nice (better at Guano point), it’s a short walkway! To add to it, you can’t bring your phone or any camera! They say it’s to prevent it from falling and hitting the glass, but will also charge you $108 if you really want to take your own pictures! Miraculously, they aren’t worried about the glass walkway if you pay the fee! 🤦‍♂️ if this was the case, they would be better off selling hand straps to tether your camera to your wrist.

They have photographers there to take your pic, but that option is also super pricey. They also got in the way of visitors as they were posing people on the walkway or in prime viewing points for extended periods.

Further, the Skywalk is not that impressive, it's pretty small in fact!

In summary, great view but not worth the cost or the scam for more money!

Great engineering and a slightly unique view, but badly organised, money rip off and miserable staff!

By Jason T |

My wife and I visited the Skywalk on a Wednesday which was supposed to be a quieter day.
The queue for the walkway took over an hour, this is due to the photographers holding up the line so much, basically hustling for you to buy photos. You are not allowed to take any form of camera (phone or anything) on the skywalk, you have to buy there photos or have nothing! Extremely poorly organised! Took over an hour to queue to get on the skywalk that can hold 120+ people BUT they only have about 20 max so they can photograph you with few people hence making the queue extremely slow!!!
I personally didn't but photos out of principle, but they couldn't really have cared less, as long as you can't take photos they're happy!!
I would gladly have bought photos along with my own, but they pissed me off that much that I didn't, as it made us very pushed for time due to their bad organisation. It basically ruined our experience!
I have an excellent camera and love photos BUT hate being forced to buy theirs only because of their greed! Very very poor.
My advice, don't bother with the skywalk, just go to Guano point where you can get excellent pictures yourself and not hassled to buy their photos.

Grand Canyon Skywait .........

By Darren H |

Well, the view was incredible. It is an engineering marvel for sure. Looking at your feet and seeing the canyon floor a thousand feet below was wild. BUT .... You drive 4 hours one way from the visitors center at GCNP into the desert (middle of nowhere) It's a long trip. You park a half mile from the Skywalk and wait in line for a bus. Then you wait in line for your tickets. Most of the staff acts like they really don't want to be working. Then you get in the hour plus que for the actual walk on the attraction. When you finally make it, you can't bring your camera. LAME. They have a photo staff charging $50 for ten photos. If you only want one it's $25. Then when you're done, you wait in another line to get back to your vehicle. Signage is poor and many people wander around looking lost. We saw several people waiting in a que just to be told they were in the wrong line. AND it wasn't even the busy or hot season yet.

Save your money dont do it

By wendy t |

The views are amazing but you dont need to do the Skywalk to see them, you can you cant take any photos (you have to lock all your possessions away first) Or you can spend a fortune on their photos. The Skywalk was a total waste of $60 for a couple. Just get the bus up to Guana point where you can walk around and take as many photos as you like for free. Id add photos so you can see the view to this review but I dont have any!

Poor management and scummy business tactics.

By Andrei Sisu |

We were in a little bit of a hurry when we got there. We knew that and we thought we would get past the entry queue and get on the bridge. After we left everything in the locker (which by the way is really scummy since the ticket already costs so much and we have to pay more for the photo), we found out there is a very long queue to actually get on the bridge which was hidden by a wall. There were people on the bridge just talking that we had seen 20 minutes prior still there. Of course the staff doesn’t care about that. When we asked the staff if we could go in front because we were in a now huge hurry, they acted like robots. It felt like they had a script they couldn’t go over by one single word. When we asked to get our phones to figure things out, they wouldn’t let us unless we left for good. We left, and it turned out we couldn’t get a refund, because all sales are final. Poor management and scummy business tactics.

Absolute waste of money and we'd say the same if there was no waiting time whatsoever!

By Sam S |

Whilst we enjoyed our visit to the Grand Canyon this experience left us with a very bitter taste in our mouths. The cost for entry to park is $70usd per person plus tax to include the sky bridge but honestly the sky bridge was a total rip off. We stood in line for almost 2 hours for a 10 minute 'experience'. It's a total cash grab. Whilst we appreciate the supposed reasons behind no phones or cameras there has to be another way. Make people more responsible. If they drop their phone charge them. Anything but the current arrangement.
We literally feel we paid to clean the glass floor with the shoe covers we were all made to wear.
It was ridiculous and, to be fair, underwhelming. Stop number 2 on the bus is far more impressive and there are no barriers!

I highly recommend the canyon but not the skywalk.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND PAYING FOR THE SKYWALK

By Priscila O |

I DO NOT RECOMMEND PAYING FOR THE SKYWALK. They won't let you take any pictures which is ok because it says on their website, however, it also says that "Professional photographers will be on hand to capture your stroll across Skywalk for treasured souvenirs." and this is a lie, when you get there, there are no photographers, they let you stay for very short period of time, they are very rude so it is not worthy for the amount of money you have to pay for it!!

Go early for a good experience!

By Dorene H |

The secret to enjoying the Skywalk is arriving early. We were on the 2nd shuttle bus to Eagle Point and went directly to the Skywalk. There was no wait and we had plenty of time on the platform to enjoy the views. Was it worth the extra $21? Maybe not because all the views other than the canyon directly below the Skywalk can be seen from the areas either side of the Skywalk, but based on getting my money's worth in Las Vegas, this wasn't nearly as overpriced as other activities and you'll pay a lot more to see the bottom of the canyon from a helicopter. Many reviews said the glass floor was scratched and didn't offer good views -- not true. We found very few scratches and they did not hinder the views. I'll admit I didn't look down a whole lot as it was somewhat unnerving to me but when I did look down, it was pretty amazing and a very different experience than looking out. We didn't engage the photographers, but watching them take photos of other groups, I have to say they really take a variety of shots, including the guests lying down on the glass looking at the camera with the canyon floor behind them. Looked like that would be a cool shot. While we were there, they had some guys hanging from the Skywalk by ropes. We asked about that and found that they were cleaning the bottom of the glass! By the time we finished our time on the Skywalk, there was a huge line of folks waiting to get out on the platform. I imagine that the waiting is what influenced the many low ratings. Go early and you'll enjoy your visit so much more!!

Good first experience if you have never seen the Grand Canyon

By navyjim58 |

We rented a car and drove here and it took about one and a half hours. Road is good all the way. Speed limit on the indian roads was 35 to 45 mph out in the middle of no where so we did twice that. Saw no cops anywhere. Part of the trip is on the indian reservation. Once we got to the Grand Canyon area we had to park and pay and take a bus to the rim. $50 for general admission and $26 for Skywalk. They have both senior and military discount. They bus has three stops with the first being the Skywalk. It is not as scary as you might think. You have to leave your cell phone and keys and all personal items in a locker. You go through a metal detector. They charge $25 for one picture so my wife who did not want to go on the Skywalk stood outside and took our pictures. You have to wear shoe covers to go on the skywalk. Overall I would say the trip is worth it as you see a lot of the Grand Canyon at the three stops. They have food and drink at two of the stops.

The Skywalk was a disappointment!!!

By Bill W |

Save your money because it's definitely not worth it. We called and asked the young lady who answered the phone what tickets to buy and she assured us we only needed the general admission tickets. Once we got there we found it was actually $26 more per person to go onto the Skywalk. They send you through a metal detector to make sure your pockets are empty and you don't have a camera, GoPro, binoculars or your phone. You put on shoe covers to make sure you don't scratch the walkway and send you out. Pictures can be taken but only by them at a cost of about $75.00. The view is okay but nothing to write home about. After about 3 minutes you've seen what there is to see and you're ready to go. The next stop is Guano Point. Here is what you've come to see and it's included with your general admission ticket. The views are nothing short of amazing and you can take all the pictures you want with YOUR CAMERA. If you want to look at the Skywalk without getting on it then you'll be okay. Take a picture of it in the background and save yourself the money.

Big catch tourists

By Carole-Anne J |

1 hour waiting in line under the big desert sun. When we think it’s finally our turn, well no another 1 hour line inside!
When we arrive near the entrance to the Skywalk, we are told that we cannot enter our phones to take pictures in case we escape them and it breaks the glass. Seeing how the employees were not so careful not to escape their walkie-talkie and cameras, I have a big doubt about the validity of this instruction...
When we enter the Skywalk, the employees (at least 8-10) have only one objective: to sell us overpriced photos.
Me and my spouse didn’t want to be photographed so we tried to sneak in among the dozen group/family who were photographed following the instructions: “turn like this, pretend to laugh, point away looking surprised”... and being told to settle down when we tried to see the landscape but were in people’s photos...
Our walk on the Skywalk will last roughly 5 minutes!
The view is really less spectacular than we lead to believe to sell us the tickets. Tip: continue on your way to the 2nd stop Guano Point. The view is incredible and you can take all the time you want to admire the splendor of the Grand Canyon, without having to pay extra to access the SkyWalk and without wasting 2 hours unnecessarily:

Commercial rubbish

By Chris G |

90 minute wait in heat to get to the sky walk. They take your phones away, and want you to pay them to take photos. The photographers take an age, with no thought to the queue inside. There’s loud music pumping out - it’s at altitude and you feel light headed. Avoid. Enjoy the natural beauty naturally elsewhere.

Worth visiting

By Lokendra |

It is worth visiting if you are traveling to Las Vegas. It is kind of little expensive. It is a long drive so you might expect little more from this place. So my suggestion is that don't expect too much :) I just loved the engineering in building the skywalk at that height.

Huge Waste of Time & Money!

By Meghan F |

Huge ripoff! Almost $400 for 2 kids & 2 adults. We spent HOURS waiting (in the ticket line, in the shuttle bus line, in line for the actual attraction). They charge General Admission AND for the Skywalk. And then when you finally get to do it you cannot take pictures, but rather their photographers rush you through and force you to do poses. You cannot even enjoy it! Of course they also charged you for your pictures on the skywalk ($25/one or $50/all). Do NOT waste your money with this racket!! This was the biggest regret of our road trip by far!

Brilliant except for photo scam

By MAK193 |

Excellent, breathtaking views. The Grand Canyon takes some beating and really is a beautiful place. The glass bridge is wonderful experience. The only down side is the photo scam. Nobody is allowed to take their phone on to the bridge for “safety” reasons, although it is fine to be wearing a hat and sunglasses, they make you put your phone and bag into a locker and scan you to make sure you don’t have your phone in your pocket. The obvious reason for this is so they can take your picture then sell it to you for $25 a photo.

Very poor staff attitude and some poor photos

By Joe |

Staff's attitude was extremely bad, the photos were not that great either.

Upon arrival at the ticket desk, I was told contactless was not working at that terminal. That was no problem to me. However, that staff member went around to have a laugh with another member of staff. Then, I went to another terminal as instructed, the laugher between them continued as I could only pay by contactless. What was so funny about it? Their behaviour were one of the worst I had ever experienced in the US.

I then had some photos taken. I was not too pleased with them, to be fair. As a professional photographer myself, you would always check the photos after each take. For US$25 each or $50 for all, the photos are digital only. The lady who served me at the photo counter asked if I was not happy with their camera. Well, it was the photographer that was the problem. Anyway, she was explaining to me about how to download the photos, whilst looking at someone/something else around the shop.

The overall experience was really bad.

Grand Canyon West Rim Tour

Our experience was amazing! From the bus ride, bus driver Freddy( he ROCKS), to the Sky Walk Experience, Food and Staff! Everything was great and would highly recommend.

Grand Canyon Skywalk is the biggest rip off I have ever experienced

By Denise M |

So, after reading so many 5-star reviews, I bought the more expensive ticket to get the opportunity to walk on the glass platform jutting off the side of the canyon and overlooking the Colorado River. Sounds pretty rad in theory, right? Well, let me give you a heads-up. NO CAMERAS. Nope, not even cell phones. You are given a free locker to store all your stuff, and then you scuttle with booties on over onto the platform, hands (and pockets) free. They have photographers there herding and pushing you through like cattle, taking silly posed pictures of you and then, of course, selling them to you afterward at an expensive fee. Our pictures were NOT good, and being rudely shuffled through caused me to feel negative about the entire Skywlk visit.

Too expensive for what it is

By Joseph S |

Expensive for about 10 minutes on the skywalk. ~$171.44 for 2 persons incl tax. You get the same views from other areas at Grand Canyon West. The only saving grace is that we are hopeful the proceeds go to the actual tribe, as opposed to a wealthy few.

Also note-- no wallets, cell phones, bags or anything similar personal items are allowed onto the skybridge. Nothing in your pockets allowed-- even if buttoned/zipped. They do provide a free locker for the duration of your time on the bridge.

Don’t waste your money on the sky walk!

By Marianne |

Absolute waste of time and money. We were dropped by our tour company at 10.05, it took over half hour to get from the drop point to the sky walk as there were limited buses running the route, despite there being 4 buses parked up. We then queued for a further 40 minutes to get HALF WAY through the queue into the Sky Walk.

Given that our tour company were collecting us at 13.30, and we hadn’t even looked at the canyon at this point, we gave up on the sky walk, even though we had paid extra to do it.

In addition, you have to put your personal belongings in a locker, no phones or anything are permitted on the walk “for safety reasons” which has nothing to do with a shameless attempt to extract more money for photo memories. $17 for one print or $69 for the digital package.

It’s a shame, as nothing has changed since we visited in 2014, I would have hoped that 9 years would have given the owners an opportunity to improve the process, clearly not.

Grand Canyon itself is stunning, it’s just a pity that the organisation of the facilities surrounding it are so poor.

Tour companies are ok (none of this was their fault) but if you make your own way there you have more flexibility, but the trade off is the driving.

All the wonder of the Grand Canyon in a nickel and diming tourist trap

By Andrew |

Sadly this place is mostly an overpriced tourist trap. I mean, the Grand Canyon is the Grand Canyon, so that's cool regardless. But I would really recommend going to a National Park entrance instead of this place. Here, you have to park, buy tickets, and wait for shuttles to bring you from place to place. It adds expense and hassle. It's just a nicer experience at other locations (like the South Rim).

The Skywalk itself is cool, but dramatically overpriced (~$70/person in March 2023), and you really only spend a few minutes on it. Also, not allowed to take pictures, but don't worry, you can wait in an extra line and pay someone $25 to take pictures of you!

If you are coming from Las Vegas and just don't have the opportunity to go to another part of the Grand Canyon, then make sure to do your research before you go to this place. There is almost no information when you arrive, no list of prices, and no description of which packages includes what.

Unfortunately, the person giving us our tickets gave us the wrong ones, "General Admission", which does not include Skywalk. We didn't even know that was an option because we never saw a list of prices/options (these were $10 cheaper). She even told us all the rules for Skywalk after giving us our tickets, so I assume she just made an honest mistake.

You can theoretically buy $30/person Skywalk tickets after being bussed to it, though we had to wait about 10 minutes to even be told this because no one is actually staffing that ticket booth because why on Earth would you not just get the Skywalk tickets at the front entrance when Skywalk is the first stop. Again, this is only a ~$10 add on at the front entrance, but they bank on people not wanting to spend 45 minutes just to bus back and forth from the front entrance so they try to charge you $30 here.

Overall, I just can't recommend this. It just feels like someone took a natural wonder, put a fence around it, and demanded people pay $70 to see it for a few minutes. Really takes the magic out of an otherwise awe inspiring natural scene.

A bit of a rip off

By sian1994 |

Don’t get me wrong, the views from the skywalk are stunning and it is a unique experience. However, the view at Guano point is better. You cannot take your own belongings on the Skywalk, so you cannot take your own photos. If you’d like the photos they take, it’s $65 for a digital download package. The whole thing is over in ~10 mins.

Grand Canyon West Rim With Skywalk

By Connector15772653973 |

Troy and Jovan were fantastic. Got us to our destination on time. They kept us informed and entertained throughout the trip. Troy explained the history of the area. Also let us know time of arrival and departure to all points. Two fantastic individuals that work great together. We look forward to seeing them again in future trips.

Roger and Mary Reyes

“Enjoy the view, give us your money”

By Tony R |

Spectacular view of course, but you’ll be fleeced on the Skywalk.

Lengthy queues (approx 1 hour) for a 5 minute ‘experience’.

No cameras or phones allowed ‘for your safety’, then guess what they’ll take a photo for you and sell it to you.

Sitting on a seat waiting for a bus, accosted by a dictator - You can’t sit there, move!

Better option is to go to Guano Point, where views are even better and you can take your own photos.

Dissapointing and overpriced

By FTufar |

I visited this place with my wife and my son and found out that to be able to enter and see the canyon we had to pay a minimum of $55 and including the skywalk $72. I found this extremely overpriced, besides the bus service was limited and long lines formed to take the bus. Long lines everywhere for every single thing.
I visited the canyon at the Mather Point (South) and the experience was much better and I didn't leave feeling ripped off.
I came from Las Vegas and I don't recommend driving two and a half hours for this underwhelming experience.

Skywalk-worth doing!

By Denise H |

This was such an amazing experience! We had friends visiting from Denmark and one of the places they wanted to see was the Grand Canyon. We were there on a September afternoon and it was perfect timing. We had a small wait time before stepping onto the skywalk and it was incredible until you heard music playing rather loudly! Why would there be music playing when you come to see this magnificent marvel in nature. You want to hear the wind howling or birds soaring by. The music was so irritating and when we said something to the photographers one agreed with us and another ignored what we were saying. Each group is assigned a photographer to take pictures since you can’t take a camera or phone with you. The photographer we got, Kari, was not personable or seemed to care about us, her job or the end result which was very disappointing especially when there were other photographers who were much better. As far as the skywalk, it is definitely worth doing and such a cool experience. After the skywalk, you take a bus to Guano Point which was also incredible because you have a 360 degree view of the canyon plus the Colorado River. We climbed into some rocks and stayed until sunset enjoying the marvelous coloring from the sun setting. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the full moon rose over the Grand Canyon, absolutely breathtaking!

Don't bother!

By Richard A |

As so many others say. Not worth it. Not worth it at all.
One of the most underwhelming visitor attractions I've ever been to.
We were on a tour with a limited time window. Queued for over an hour, put all your valuables and phone in a locker, then eventually you get out on the walkway.
To the left in the distance you can see Colorado River but there is nothing to really give you a sense of scale.
This was on of the 'must see' things on my list on our trip from the UK.
Such a disappointment.
It really was.

Good views, could be better organised

By Fi A |

This was a good experience and the views are good however we arrived after a long drive not realising that the time increases an hour into Arizona from Nevada.
There were a lot of queues. For tickets we waited half an hour. The signage was bad and it wasn’t clear you could pay at any till not just the ticket booth.
We queued for the bus and then the sky walk which was crowded. After that it was getting dark so more queuing for guano point which has a better view but we got there a bit late.
The car park is not lit so it’s a bit dangerous after dark but in all a good visit.

Nice view very poor organization

By tputer |

Made a day trip from Las Vegas. The skywalk was a waste of money and time. Spent over an hour in line. The part of the line indoors was covid unfriendly. We were so tired and cold that we didn’t want any pictures. There should be a line for no pictures. The line to purchase tickets indoors was also crazy and unsafe for covid. The only thing that was good was the buses. Enjoyed the view though.

Rip off and long delays

By Chris G |

We'd paid for this as part of a day tour but we ducked out of the line for fear of losing all our free time to standing in a queue. They ban you taking your own photos and then try to charge extortionate prices for photos they take. Delays because of people wanting a dozen different poses. Such a shame because it could have been great

Don't bother and save the money.

By Mudeford 123 |

Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing the ticket. It is a money making attraction. The photographs are 65 dollars for 15. Would have purchased one or two for 10 dollars. Difficult to see through the glass floor as sun reflects. Does not go out into the canyon as I thought. If you are able go to the South Rim and save yourself money and get better views. Came away from West rim feeling I had been duped.

Long waiting in bus lines

By JohnSexson |

A beautiful Jew of the West side of the Grand Canyon but unfortunately the wait for the buses was 40 minutes long.
They had 20 or more shuttle buses parked but only seemed like 4 were available and this created long lines.
I gave 3 stars as a good rating but probably a 2 star.

Moving on up...

By Dena B |

The view was amazing and it's worth doing, expect lots of people. The only 2 downfalls I felt was you can't take the cell phone because you can't take pictures, only to purchase from them. We also felt pushed to go quickly. There was many staff taking pictures and moved you along but it was good!

If you plan to come here, think again!

By Penporn T |

The view is magnificent! The rest of the skywalk isn’t worth it. There’s not much choice when it comes to the food. Also, clean the glass floor and get a better photographer, or maybe better to not have any. I’m not impressed at all.

Be aware

By Sascha K |

You have to pay to go on the skywalk which would be ok but then you can’t take pictures by yourself/with your own camera - it’s not allowed. They want you to buy the photos taken by their photographers

Skywalk great, setup badly.

By Alan Bell |

Starting with the positive parts of our skywalk experience, the views are exceptional and the feeling of walking out on the glass walkway and being 4000ft above the Grand Canyon floor is breathtaking. The actual skywalk itself is excellent, thoughtfully designed and constructed and my goodness it takes your breath away when you are walking over the glass, especially if you’re not a fan of heights. Not being a height lover myself, I’d recommend waddling like a penguin to ease the nerves!!

Now for the negatives, they have made this very commercialised and a money making scheme. The first blow you get is being told to put your phone, cameras and all personal belongings in a locker (And don’t think you can sneak a phone/camera through, they have active security monitoring the skywalk) So all your hopes of getting those memorable and breathtaking photographs or videos lay with the professional photographers they have you queue for before you step foot on the skywalk. Professional photographer, not a chance, they were in-experienced and once we seen the small selection of photographs at the end, they show no resemblance of being on a glass walkway and more appear to be green screen or photoshopped! Price wise for buying these images, you’re looking at $50+ depending how many you wish to buy. We didn’t bother buying them, what a disappointment.

We are pleased we did the skywalk, it was a great personal challenge however go with low expectations and don’t hope to get any photographs to remember your time there.

Don’t look down either.

If I could do it again

By MJgreen78 |

The line ups are ridiculous. You think that you’re getting on when you go into the building only to find out there is another line. Two hours and still waiting.

Grand Canyon is AMAZING. Just don't bother with the Skywalk.

By Shelley A |

Like many others have said - a visit to the Grand Canyon is AMAZING. Just don't bother with the Skywalk. You get just as good as views outside. We were part of a tour so our time was precious. We queued for over an hour to get onto the Skywalk. As people have said - you have to put your belongings in a locker and put on booties for the walk. We didn't bother with having any photos taken. We wish we had skipped it and spent more time at Guano Point. It truely is a special place.

Money grab... not worth it

By montgod |

As others have already mentioned, the cost isn't worth the experience, if you want to call it that. The glass walk is basically walking over glass that you can see down into the grand canyon. Since the outside is supported by the metal support around the whole walk, the only viewable area to look down through the glass is in the middle of the walk way. That's not very much and it's not much of an experience in believing you'd be on a fully open and viewable glass walk for the whole way around. Not to mention, since the skywalk doesn't really even go out that far from the building, you're really seeing more of the side of the grand canyon then deep into it. Eagle's point isn't really the best point to even look down into vs guano point since it's more vast and has a lot more to look at.
Also, you are required to leave your phone and everything else in their lockers. This isn't for safety purposes, this is so they can try to push you to use their camera folks who are average at best and rush you around this small half oval walk way in taking pictures. Cost is around 30-50 bucks which means the whole experience would be about $100 per person for 15-20 min of this experience.
I'd pass the skywalk all together and just take pictures on your own at each point. You'll see more and get better pictures with your phone.

Don’t bother buying,save your money

By col61Sleaford |

Purchased Grand Package tickets on arrival which included tickets to SkyWalk. On entering SkyWalk we were informed to put all items in a locker as you weren’t able to take them out with you.
We had purchased the SkyWalk tickets so we could take lots of photos. You aren’t allowed to take any cameras/phones/bags onto SkyWalk. There is official photographers there who will take your pictures (at an additional cost obviously)
The glass floor is very scratched so views not as clear as hoped for.

The last stop is Guado Point where access /views are amazing. Take all your pictures here.

Don't bother with the extra cost for sky walk

By jed |

You can not take your camera or phone onto this as they want you to pay for the photo they take. We had to queue for an hour and unfortunately during this time the cloud came down and covered the canyon highlight. If we hadn't queued for this rubbish experience we could have stood to the right of the skywalk and taken the same photos with our phones before the cloud came down! It's a story to tell and we laugh at how terrible it was. Don't make our mistake, they only want your money for an exact photo you can take from the side yourself.

Save your money, keep driving (literally)

By Julie S |

We attended this tourist trap where they wanted to charge 76USD, per person to go to the skywalk. The washrooms here were also disgusting and with all the revenue they are making, they obviously are not re-investing it in this dump.

As we were standing in the HUGE line up to get tickets , we tried to use their “free wifi” to look at other options. Their wifi did not work which is a part of the scam so that you don’t see the free scenic stops a little further down just past Meadview….where we spent the entire afternoon exploring the magnificent views along the roadway!

Bad.

By Jackie S |

It costs $51 dollars for a 10 min ride to get into the park once you get there. And if you want to do activities it’s even more!
Huge rip off!

Unfair pricing

By World traveler |

It cost over $100 and I guess that’s fine if you want me do the skywalk, but I was not going to do it but still had to pay the premium price. I think they should have two price levels. Also, there are no barriers at all at the rim which I find extremely unsafe. I say if you’re not going to do the skywalk go to the east entrance it’s safer and only $35 for seven days.

If you want to get the beta experience, show up as early as possible.

By Kassandra T |

I booked my reservation for the skywalk including a meal, for about each person $85. I reserved a week in advance.
I read a bunch of negative reviews prior to getting there so it made me nervous.
However, I experienced the opposite.
I had an amazing time. I reserved at 9am (but you don’t have to be there at the exact time reserved) ticket is good for all day. 9am is the best time to go , no big crowds and weather is decent. You do have to take a shuttle but we did not wait no more than 20 min for a shuttle to get us. The drivers who take us in the shuttles are NOT tour guys. However some are more talkative than others. So don’t expect every driver to educate you about the Grand Canyon.
You can’t take personal belongings like phones, cameras, purses etc
But they do have photographers who can take your picture. If you go early they are all nice and will pretty much take a couple request on how you want your picture taken. They do get pretty busy as more people show up so they have their own poses for you to speed the process.
Overall, I say it was fun and exciting. Highly recommend going as early as possible to get the best experience.

Too few buses to and from terminal. Long wait times and rude staff.

By Rachael L |

Awful. 1-2 buses running which left people in line for VERY long wait times. Definitely should run more buses for such a large area. Would never visit again

Expensive but great

By Fabien et Anne-... G |

It is better to take a package with the helicopter and the meal included. If you go only to the skywalk, make sure to take the "photo" line. You will spend more time to enjoy the bridge (even if you don't buy any pictures at the end). The digital photos are 20 dollars each. So it's better to let take as many as you can on the bridge, because you can have all of them for 65 dollars (but only in digital).

Too long of a wait.

By Meekenstein |

Grand Canyon West needs to provide estimated wait times on their web site. During my call about buying tickets on site rather than online they should have indicate possible 30 min 1 hr 2hr or our 3hr and 45 minute wait.

Grand Canyon West Rim

By Yogi B |

Over-rated and over priced
The view from the sky restaurant is much better than the skywalk! photo below
Going to Grand Canyon West Rin itself is a poor experience and once should rather go north or south…

Tourist scam over fake Grand Canyon

By Benjamin H |

Scam. Absolutely terrible, just a big money grab. Sky Walk isn't even over the grand canyon, views aren't anything like the ones further along at Grand Canyon Village. Expensive with or without the Sky Walk, can't take pictures, have to pay for them as a very expensive optional extra. Avoid.

Skywalk at the Grand Canyon is a tourist trap!

By Laura P |

The skywalk is a total tourist trap. We waited for about an hour plus to finally do the skywalk. You can’t take any personal items with you including your phone. They want you to buy their pictures. The view is nice but not worth the price and the wait for maybe 10 minutes on the skywalk.
The next stop on the shuttle route is guano point which is no additional fee and has stunning views of the canyon. You can climb up on the rocks and get amazing views. Skip the skywalk and just go right to guano point. You will save yourself time and money!!

A glass bridge at Grand Canyon West

By Hockie69 |

Walking on the glass bridge with shoe cover and no phones allow means a memory photo by the bridge cost USD30-50. Totally not worth the money. Tourist trap if must say.

Not necessary to appreciate the GC!

By jonnybanks |

Overpriced for what it is. Too many photographers on the bridge and it distracts you from actually taking in the views. I had a better time just viewing from the edge of the ravine rather than on the deck. Also Guano point is more spectacular than Eagle Point

An experience never to be forgotten

By peterbaker40 |

I am scared of heights, but still managed skywalk and felt safe
Photos are expensive and you can’t take own cameras so that was disappointing
Views obviously incredible

Pass If You Can Resist The Hype!!

By FellowTraveler423154 |

Not worth the time and price. The drive is far, the staffs there are rude, the photos taken were over exposed, and they only take ~6 photos. I am sure the photographer there doesn't really care how the photos turn out and just hurriedly take all the photographs on one side and be done with it. Then the outrages price to charge $25 each OR $50 for all 6 photos plus 20 garbage photos from them. If the experience was a little better, at least it would be worth the price.

Like other's mentioned, the bridge itself is really not that exciting at all, too many people in a tiny space.

The only positive experience there was at their cafe. The staff there were much much much better than then one herding people thru the skywalk.

In contrasts, Toronto CN Tower and Seattle Space Needle offers much better experience.

Touristy but skywalk is fun

By Jenny M |

When you arrive plenty of parking , then it’s shuttle buses to the different stops / areas. The skywalk - we didn’t have to queue at all, we came in the morning and we went straight in. You are allowed to take phones for photos , just no bags or cameras. It’s fun to walk on the glass over the edge.
Both stops have views of the canyon - nowhere near as impressive as the South Rim and the National Park.
The cafes were not good- hardly any choice and queues, we ended up not eating there as not suitable menus for children / teens.
Lots of gift shops and the buses came very regularly.
Would totally recommend the helicopter ride and boat trip - this option made our day much more worthwhile.

Don't do Canyon skywalk!

By Pioneer757666 |

DO NOT DO THE SKYWALK! Paid $25, and waited an hour and a half to enter the skywalk. Then they did not allow cameras, so couldn't take own pictures. Had to lock ALL belongings in a locker. They charge $50 for them to take your picture. Better off taking time to visit second stop at the canyon - better views and could take small hike and pictures (we didn't have time)!! Otherwise the tour was good - amazing grand canyon, nice tour guide Johnny. Food not great, but filled our bellies.

Do not waste your time abd your money

By marfranci |

Too expensive. This experience compared with Grand Canyon South Rim is a waste of time and MONEY!!! You can’t take your own pictures, crowded all day long, the view it lasts 15 minutes and you feel like you were robed.

Highway robbery

By Caroline B |

Was looking to take the family.
DO PEOPLE ACTUALLY PAY THIS RIDICULOUS AMOUNT!
THERE IS NO WAY ID PAY 400.00 FOR THIS. Absolutely outrageous!

Don't pay for this

By Heather |

On the Skywalk you aren't allowed to take any personal items, including purses,  cameras and cell phones. They have free lockers for you to use, but what's the point of paying extra for the skywalk if you can't take any pictures? Of course they offer to take pics of you, for a fee. It really isn't worth it. You can get a great view without the Skywalk, trust me.

Very expensive but still impressive.

By Ewen_Newe |

$75 per person to get to Skywalk + Guano Point is very expensive. As for the bridge, it is impossible to take a photo yourself, it is forbidden (your belongings are to be dropped in a locker). For this, you have the photographers of the site! We stayed 4/5 minutes on the bridge to admire the view and the void under our feet ... Without cameras, we don't stay long. Note: we did not have to put on a "disposable overshoe". Guano Point, on the other hand, is grand.

Eagle's eye view

By Wottinger |

There is no other way, on a quick tourists venture, to experience an eagle's eye view of the bottom and sides of the canyon. We went on the first day of the Spring break.
Our photographer was a fun guy and we purchased just one photo out of about two dozen he took. You can stay on the Skywalk for as long as you want.

Money Grab!

By alrwall |

While the view is great on the skywalk, the two hour wait in a winding line, and several photographers hustling you to take pics, it’s just not worth the 70-90 bucks. There are so many photographers taking pics that you cannot enjoy the views without them in the way taking pics of other visitors. It was disappointing. It is nothing more than a money grab because you are not allowed to take your own pics on the skywalk. You can get great views from Guano Point, and you can take your own pics.

Skywalk Experience

By cinderellatheultimat |

Incredible scenery of the Grand Canyon’s West Rim. They have a hop-on, hop-off bus tour along the edge of the canyon. We stopped at Eagle Point first where the Grand Canyon Skywalk is. They won't let you take any pictures which is ok. We had an amazing photographer. All our pictures turned out very nice, no people in the background. I purchased the photo package which I easily downloaded it from the Fotosmile App and shared it with the group. There we 19 of us, we arrived a little after 9AM, less crowd and we had a great time with our photoshoots!
Then we stopped at Guano Point more spectacular views over the Colorado River. We hiked a short trail here which leads to the highest point where the scenic vantage offers a majestic view of the Colorado River. Some of us stayed and just simply relaxed and enjoyed the peacefulness of Grand Canyon West whilst enjoying their ice cream with stunning views!

Amazing experience!

By AshleyB63 |

I really wanted to do this, but my husband was skeptical. Even as we walked up to the building housing the skywalk, he was feeling underwhelmed.
As soon as we stepped onto the bridge, he could not stop saying how wonderful it is. It really offers a different perspective and gives you a unique experience of the Grand Canyon.
You also get to see the natural eagle formation in the rock that is a historic Hualapai sacred place.

Disappointed Traveler to SKYWALK due to FOG

By Newwyorker17 |

Greetings and KNOW THE WEATHER CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU GO!

We traveled from NY to Las Vegas this past week and decided to go on a side trip to Skywalk on Nov. 3, 2022. The drive from Henderson was clear. I purchased 4 tickets for Gen. Admission to Skywalk. Unfortunately, the entire landscape and the view from the glass floor was obstructed by fog.

Terribly disappointed that a percentage of compensation was not offered to the dozens of guests who were equally disappointed in the terrible experience at Skywalk.

Bad

By Jennifer W |

Please do not do this tour. Once you go in to their entrance, you pay first for your tour. Then you are basically held hostage by super long lines that you can't see from the front of the building. They only run the minimum of buses and we had to wait in the 100 degree heat for an hour for the first bus, then wait another hour to see the skywalk. Then another hour in line for the bus to leave. Once on the bus, instead of taking you back to your car, you are forced to go on another leg of the tour for another hour. Staff was rude and you are nickled and dimed at ever turn. Was a beautiful facility, but totally not worth it. We expected this to take a couple of hours, but took all day. Everyone we talked to the day we were there felt the same.

Boring rip off.

By JIM S |

9/29/22 Overpriced. 1/2 hr line waits for buying tickets, waiting for bus coming and going to view site and skywalk "experience". General admission $70 required for skywalk experience, another $25. Plus tax. The canyon view was underwhelming and the skywalk 3,000 feet above the canyon view was not as advertised. All told, 3 hour visit with 2.5 hours just waiting in lines No picture taking on skywalk. There was a company photographer happy to take photos and charge $40 per print. I noticed an optional meal can be had for $20 p/person. When we arrived at the canyon view dining site, the menu for this meal was a choice of burger or chicken tenders, fries and drink.

Great experience

By belinda m |

Awesome experience and not for the faint hearted. Was really excited to do this and it didn't disappoint. Did a bus tour to get to this location which was quick and had a regular service to all the locations. Loads of information posts and all staff were very helpful and informative. The skywalk itself my husband was terrified of as scared of heights but we got him out there which was a massive milestone. Great time of year to go as not crowded and the temperatures are perfect. They only let a small number of people on the kt one time and staff take photos at all the best spots which are awesome so totally worth purchasing. They are digital.

Waste of money

By NickiMc2014 |

Amazing views but absolutely not worth paying extra for skywalk. You’re not allowed to take your own photos on it. There are photographers on it that take photos for you that you have the option to purchase fir $25 each but we were faced with a very unhelpful lady who said she was unable to enlarge the photos on the screen to make viewing easier only to see one of ours at full size after we’d moved on. Really disappointing service. Lots of waiting for buses to take you from viewing points so more buses running would have helped. Toilets were clean. Can take your own photos near skywalk and second stop. The 3rd stop you can access independently on the way in at the zip line before entrance.

Skywalk not recommended

By K L |

Very commercial. Not recommended at all. Long queues, overpriced
The most outrageous thing is that you are not allowed to take cell phones with you on the walk (you are scanned to make sure you are not taking a cell phone or camera with you) no, you have to buy the photos for $25 each.

The view is also totally disappointing, there is not really anything to see.

Avoid the Skywalk

By 504Nola |

As an engineer it's amazing and seeing the Grand Canyon is a must do. However, as a consumer, this is not the way to do it. It's a rip off. Way too pricey and way too long. Also, you cant take a camera or PHONE on to the walkway to take pictures. Of course they take pictures for you for a crazy fee. The lines are long, bus routes make no sense, and it its a long drive to get there. See the Grand Canyon but avoid this.

Dear ! Too expensive !

By Ribourt |

Too expensive ! This is theft ! You pay €53 to park and take a shuttle
The Sky gaze is 17€, you are not allowed to take photos!
20% discount for children! We turned around, after talking with other French people who were doing the same thing!
I advise against !

Photos are a rip off

By Kirryn A |

The area is of course is spectacular. Admittedly we did wait 3 months, but the photos we were pretty much forced to take and buy while on the actual Skywalk are now expired and so can’t be downloaded. I wouldn’t bother with the skywalk again.

Total Rip-off

By CP M |

Views are nothing compared to the south rim. Sky walk is just a gimmick. No photos and they were not taking photos that day. Too expensive and totally not worth it. I can't believe I wasted a day here. Spent hundreds and didn't even get decent photos to show for.

Didn't know you couldn't take your own photo's at Skywalk

By Heather C |

Would have been better being able to Take your own photo's.
There was no mention of can't take your own pictures when queuing for the tickets. Almost $250 for them.

Then a poster showing can't take your camera when queuing for Skywalk.
They take the pictures for you at a cost of $50. They offer 10 photo's of yourselves the last photo was the same. So we had 9! You also get 20 scenic generated photos included in that price.
Should have listened to the bus driver.

The next point you can take your own photo's.

Over all we queued in 4 queues but we did hire a car from Las Vegas. It's a 2.5hr drive there and back.

Beware false promises.

By Matt W |

I bought tickets in advance under the premise that we would be allowed to "skip the lines". On arrival we found there was a massive queue with an estimated wait time of three hours. We did not have time in our itinerary for this and had to skip. Tried calling them to resolve this issue but got no response.

Top Guy

By Jacob R |

We visited at the start of August, we was made to feel very welcome from our tour guide Steven I think he was called. He went so far out his way to talk about The canyon itself and for people like us who had never seen the canyon to just look at it all together. If Tripadvisor can I would like to find a way to talk to him. Please make this happen. Thankyou Jake

Expensive for what you get

By Olivier C |

The only reason why you should not purchase the Skywalk experience, the reason is that you are not allowed to take photo or video, they force you to put your phone in a locker. The reason is to force you to buy one photo at 25 $ or 50$ for 6. I think that the fact that you paid 30$ already for this activity make it a big scam. You can see really well the Grand Canyon from other point of view, you din’t need to pay a total of 80$ to get a nice photos. I don’t imagine going there with your family. It will cost you an arm and a leg.

Do not recommend

By Elvin |

Horrible experience. Money grab. The part where they ask you to check your personal belongings because they need to make money taking photos for you for extra on top of the ticket set me off. Do not waste your time.

Don't waste your money. Tourist trap. You get better views with the standard ticket, just wait for the next bus stop.

By Markus_Ldn |

Don't waste your money. Tourist trap. You wait. You can't take pictures. If you want some, they are done by their own photographers at an extra charge. And you don't see much. What we didn't know, and I bet 95% of the other tourists neither, as part of the standard entrance you get to another stop where you have way better, higher views for free!!!!!!!!!

TOURIST TRAP!

By Maria M |

I should have read reviews before going to this! This place was a complete waste of time!!! Drove 2.5 hrs from Las Vegas for this overpriced nonsense. Once we parked, we had to get on a shuttle that reeked of fuel exhaust. Both my husband and I got massive headaches from this.

We expected the plexiglass on the bridge to be clear to be able to see the bottom of the canyon. Boy were we wrong!! 99% of the plexiglass is so scratched up, you can't see anything....LITERALLY!! There was zero point to doing this.

NEVER AGAIN! I have let my friends know already not to waste time and $ on this tourist trap!

Closest Grand Canyon visit from Las Vegas

By Mike F |

What’s good? Two hours drive from Vegas. Beautiful views, especially Guano Point at the second bus stop, clean restrooms, fantastic bus drivers and staff, and cheap post cards.

What’s not good?
The price of the skywalk. It wasn’t worth the time or money. You’re not allowed to use your own camera or phone on the skywalk. Not very handicap accessible.

I visited on a say with small attendance. It was neat.

By Ron_chitown |

I visited on a day when crowds were small. I believe that is why my review may not align with someone who visited on a busy day. Those first few steps out onto the skywalk are a bit eerie but that's the charm of it. Shuttle buses taking you to skywalk and another scenic point were full but wait times were short. Wait for skywalk was about 20 minutes. I enjoyed myself. You see enough of the canyon views and the Colorado river without having to go into the national park. This plus a breath taking helicopter ride over the canyon is a great way to see the canyon.

Ticked the box

By Rachael E |

We visited as part of a helicopter trip. I was a little disappointed. Thought the walk would be bigger/longer and having already visited the south rim, was also disappointed with the views. If this is your first taste of the GC, you will be wowed but there are better views to be had. Guano Point at the same rim was exceptional.

The most expensive possible way to enjoy the canyon

By Jack |

The skywalk is an amazing feat of engineering. The view is unbelievable. However, the price is about half of a Disney ticket, and you really only go out there for a few minutes. Compared to other things that cost this amount of money - its highly overpriced.
You aren't allowed to bring your camera or phone, because they want to sell you any pictures of the experience. So you can't even take pictures. In our case, we double paid for it, because it was included in our tour tickets, and that wasn't made clear. Unsuprisingly, no refund available.
Overall, we had a great trip and the views were beautiful, but I have to believe this was the very most expensive way to do it.

Pricey view - know before you go!

By Lora F |

We thought we “couldn’t miss” this based on what we had heard about the viewing deck, but we realized that we were wrong. If this is your only trip to the canyon then yes, by all means, go see it! But we went in our way from Vegas to Grand Canyon Village, where we stayed for 3 nights with a stunning view of the canyon from the South Rim, so we didn’t need this stop. The bridge is small and not as remarkable as the hype. Family of 4 and it cost us $300 because there isn’t anywhere else to eat so you pretty much have to eat there- you pay for admission to the reservation and then for your ticket to the bridge and for food. We would skip it next time!

Excellent trip with Maverick helicopters

By bike022015 |

Trip with Maverick helicopters. Totally professional from the booking, updates, pickup, the flight was amazing. Skywalk experience was efficiently organised. .well worth it

Rip-Off

By rcarlos |

Complete Rip-off.
They charge you 75+$ for the GA +Skywalk. Then they squeeze you into a bus and bring you to a „historic Indian site“ just outside of the area (which you have passed with your car before anyway) which happens to sell burgers. Then they drive you to the Skywalk site, where they tell you to store all your belongings in lockers, including cameras and phones(!) for „safety“ reasons - the wind, you know… By surprise, the 3 fellas on the platform itself happen to have cameras taking and selling overprized and unprofessional pictures of you. No safety concerns here…
Watching the Eagle point rock formation is a great experience though. However, all the „services“ they make you pay for are useless and only serve the purpose of them taking your money. Including the run-down, shabby Visitor Center.
If you have the possibility to access any other Grand Canyon site, go for that one.

need better Wi-Fi access. And a way to ID your order # for conformation of purchase when Wi-Fi is unaccusable

By RedJude N |

Everyone was very accommodating to us with handicap walkers. Our only serious problem was their lack of wifi access when we needed to show our prepaid passes located on our cell phone.

An Unforgettable Skywalk Experience

By Rachel & Andy |

Visited 23/06/23 - Overall a great "once in a lifetime experience". Thankfully, the line wasn't too long - only about 20 minutes wait mid-morning midweek. They take professional photos of you on the walkway, which is great since you can't bring loose items like your phone. Be prepared for airport-style security before entering. Once the photogrpaher has walked you out onto the bridge and taken some shots you have free time to enjoy the experience at your leisure. Looking down under your feet and seeing birds circling several hundred feet below is quite strange. Knowing that you are higher than the worlds tallest building looking straight down is like nothing else.

It's definitely not for those scared of heights! But if you're looking for a unique perspective of the canyon, the Skywalk delivers. The bridge was quite busy with people but numbers are strictly controlled.

Bad attitude

By Anantha |

Took the skywalk option along with the admission ticket. Bad and good decision - bad that we took the skywalk, good that we didn’t take the pictures package and spent even more. It’s a complete rip off for pictures. The attitude exhibited by the people work at the skywalk towards visitors who don’t take the pictures package is in poor taste.

Obviously Gorgeous but the Music Was Unnecessary and Weird

By Billy H |

The view was majestic and everything you'd expect, but they were playing really loud music the entire time we were on the skywalk. It was 80s rock. Think there was also a Macklemore song in there. Whatever service they were using to play the music, they didn't pay for the ad free version, so we also heard a commercial for Master Card. It didn't ruin the experience, but it detracted pretty significantly.

I've talked to other people who have gone in the past and there wasn't any music when they did it. Don't know if they were testing out a new feature or what. But to the operators, if ya'll are reading this, please, please kill the music. It's the Grand Canyon, it doesn't need Toto's "Hold the Line" as a backing soundtrack.

Avoid this and go straight to Guano point

By Thetravellingpanda007 |

We were really disappointed with the skywalk, firstly we waited an hour to get onto the skywalk. It's smaller then the pictures portray, the whole experience is not enjoyable for the following reasons;
1) you cannot take any personal belongings not even a phone or camera so you cannot take photos
2) you have to wear shoe covers, when the glass is already scratched and dirty
3) the whole time on the skywalk was about them taking photos and you posing, we felt rushed round and didn't have our own time
4) they try to sell you the photos for $25 for 1 or all for $55 these are digital only and no print outs

You will get better photos at guano point, go here to view Eagle point but don't do the skywalk

Overpriced and rude staff

By PurpleTigga |

This whole experience was underwhelming. Lots of queuing for a 5 minute experience. You are not allowed to take any photos so they can fleece you for a grumpy teen with a wide angle lens to do it for you. The guy manning the metal detector was rude and spoke with a very aggressive tone.

Very nice plan and something different

By Daniel Enrique Rivero |

The plan was excellent, and the view during the drive to the park was breathtakingly beautiful. However, it's important to note that taking pictures on the Skywalk is prohibited as the company manages it. I suggest arriving early at the park to have plenty of time to complete the entire circuit.

You can skip

By C S |

Annoying. I thought it was a waste of money until I got to the second stop. You couldn't take your own pictures. No cameras allowed. I wouldn't do the skywalk again. You can see the same scenery and take your own pictures at the next stop.

Breathtaking views you feel so vulnerable. An unmissable experience.

By Kam-Haider |

It's my second visit to the Grand Canyon having been back in 2004. A lot have changed there is now a sky walk experience. As I was visiting on an off peak period (December during a weekday) my review reflects my own experience. I note a lot of negative reviews however I did not experience any queues and I did turn up at 3.30pm just an hour before closing time. I did not book in advance (you may need to on a busier period). I drove to a car park where you go inside the store and purchase your tickets. At just under$70 for a general admission ticket not cheap. At this point you board upon a bus which takes you to the skywalk location (10 minute bus ride). At the site you can walk around and take in the sheer beauty and there are plenty of opportunities to take great pictures. With regards the Skywalk you go inside a building and you have to put your phone and any camera equipment you have in lockers. You then have to put on shoe covers and you can then walk onto the glass outside. It's a surreal experience you feel so vulnerable. I chose not to take any photo package but rather just wanted to enjoy the experience. Once done you can hop onto the bus and it will stop off at another site (Eagle Point). This for me was my favourite part you can climb a couple of rocky mini hills and you get the great vantage points and here you can take the best pictures and stay in the location without pressure. A word of caution no rope barriers here and I did see some foolish people trying to get a risky picture right on the edge. Please do not do this as rock can crumble and it can get windy. Overall a truly memorable experience.

Please save your money, pure rip-off!

By Franziska6827 |

Save your money - it's not worth it in any way. We have rarely felt so ripped off! This is the deluxe tourist trap. For just under 80 per person, you are taken to the skywalk by bus, given overshoes and then skilfully guided by photographers along the skywalk to the end. The glass is so scratched at the bottom that you can't see anything anyway, the rest is totally unspectacular and then you have to pay 25 dollars per photo. The whole thing is just a disgrace!

Grand Canyon Skywalk

By Jenny L |

Very nice views of the Canyon from a totally different perspective. A bit confusing if you're not familiar with the Grand Canyon as to entrance fees and pricing etc. However worth a visit if you happen to be on that side of the Canyon.

IMPORTANT notice for potential visitors!

By Fearless31725427111 |

The most important fact all potential visitors need to know:

1. During the first stage of the tour you visit the skywalk. You are NOT allowed your phones and have to pay photographers if you want a picture on the walkway.

2. The second stop on the tour is photographer free! It's also a much much better view of the canyon from Guano point.

The take away is, don't bother paying for the skywalk. It's really not worth it. The general admission takes you to Guano point where you are blessed with the best views and photo opportunities!

Still an amazing experience. But here my advice and save yourself some money.

Total rip off n not worth it

By Victor |

Total rip off

I will not suggest anyone to visit Grand Canyon

Total waste of money

Extreme expensive

They don't allow you to carry anything with you not even mobile

They will take some quick pictures and then ask $50 to get that pictures

Amazing & breathtaking

Amazing but expensive
A lot of time used queuing we did the Zip Wire First
Wow but no photo opportunities -missed opportunity we would have bought photos of this
Esp being in our 60s to do this was fabulous
Staff were lovely & plentiful
Restaurant closed early
Shops are well stocked but souvenirs are so expensive
$48 for a T-shirt??
Over all a fabulous day - breathtaking sights
$99 each
& we hired a car for $125
Super exciting day

Book this if you want to waste your money and deal with lazy and rude staff

By hockeygirl616 |

Honestly a huge waste of money, expensive and not worth it. First, You are not allowed to bring your phone/camera onto the sky walk which means you aren’t able to take photos which is ironic because this is essentially a rushed photo shoot. You start waiting in a very long line to get on the bridge. Once you are on you are assigned a photographer to take your photos. Sounds like a pretty good deal right? …. WRONG. They neglect to mention that most of these photographers are lazy with no training or desire to perform their job correctly. What they don’t tell you is that if you decided to purchase the $50 photo package you are allowed 10 photos. Our photographer took 10 photos of us essentially in the same spot, and included photos with our hair flying all over the place and eyes shut in our 10 images. Meanwhile other photographers were suggesting all different types of clever poses to guests, and taking individual images of each. We felt like we had gotten the short end of the stick, so we asked another photographer to take a few more of us which she was happy to do so. However, they then forgot to mention that we weren’t able to combine imagines to total 10. We found this out as we were checking out with the most miserable and rude employee at the entire establishment. Oh and must I mention the first photographer never gave us the card that allows the cashier to access your pictures. I bet you can guess how happy she was to help resolve this issue. After all of this we didn’t even get to enjoy the skywalk because your time is so rushed, and ended up having to spend $100 to purchase BOTH packages to get the images we want, along with the crappy ones. If you can’t tell by now I do not recommend this even the slightest bit and suggest you skip this all together and take the shuttle to Guano Point where you’re allowed to take all the photos you like at your own convince and don’t have to get yelled at or rushed while doing so.

They lost my photos, no refund for a month.

By Gratia G |

My husband and I visited for our 25th anniversary and it will be the only time we will have that opportunity. We didn’t plan to go on the skywalk but decided that since we wanted some great photos for memories we would splurge. It cost $57 and we waited an hour in the photo line. The digital pictures cost an additional $50. A couple of days later I tried to retrieve the digital photos and could not. When I emailed the company they told me there had been some “technical difficulties” and my photos were lost. They asked me to send a copy of my credit card front and back via email for a refund. I refused because that is unsafe and I advised them to mail me a check for not just the photos but also the admission cost. I am not sure why but they refused to send me a refund check! Maybe they don’t know how to write a check. After going back and forth via email several times they just stopped replying and ignored me for a full month until I called to speak with someone. They took my credit card number over the phone and refunded just the $50 photo cost. I’m going to call my bank to see if they will also stop the admission cost charge as we would not have done that were it not for the photos. The employee I spoke to was rude and made excuses: “this has never happened before!” I would never do this again, these people are not trustworthy. Feels like a scam.

Fantastic views but Tourist trap.

By PCP |

Whilst the views are breath taking and worth the trip, a complete tourist trap.
You can’t get to see the views without paying over $50 each. You take a hot bus (air con don’t work at the back) to the first stop. Yes the views are undoubtedly spectacular, but don’t pay extra to go on the skywalk. You can’t take your phone for photos… they charge you $20+ per photo they take. It was crowded and the photographers were oblivious to families who were trying to stick together. No one wanted to inform you about history, scale or anything about either the canyon or the skywalk.
Back on the bus for the second stop… and again spectacular views. No staff around to answer questions or inform you about the surroundings.
Third bus the air con worked… and this bus driver was brilliant, a guide in itself. First time anyone willingly told us anything, and he was volunteering it.
Not worth the money, such a shame it cost so much just to see the spectacular views. A must, a once in a lifetime visit, but be prepared to feel ripped off.

Sadly disappointed 😞

By Dan R |

Very expensive and disappointing. Most of the people that work there are rude, there were a couple very helpful ones. The cost to use the Skywalk was a lot since they force you to buy their photos if you want any, and the people getting the photos are blocking people trying to look.

Not worth and highly disappointed

By Sadasivuni S |

We were really excited to visit Grand Canyon West though it is expensive. But we totally disappointed after visiting this. Because they are not at all maintaining the skywalk . You neither feel that you are walking on it nor you feel the exact experience(little fear). Fully scratched glass. Nothing can view from it. And waste of money. They don't allow cameras for visitors safety but the photographers take pics by more charging. 8 pics for 50$ and 1 pic for 25$. How can we get beautiful pics or experience by totally scratched reflection? Not allowing cameras didn't bother me but scratched glass bridge/skywalk bothered us a lot as we paid more per head 70$( online price). At the counter they take 80-85$. I just want to help visitors to not waste money for it

Over-priced with ridiculous queuing times to get on the Skywalk

By Angla |

We were pretty disappointed with our Skywalk experience at Eagle Point. The queue to get inside the building for the Skywalk took around 90 minutes in over 80-degree heat! There wasn't much shade, which seems like an oversight, and there was virtually so seating for people who stood in line for a ridiculous amount of time! As you get closer to the front of the line there is shade and a couple of bench seats are available, but by that point, most people are frustrated by the experience of standing in the heat for so long and it ruins the excitement.

As you finally get called to enter the building and go on the Skywalk you discover that there is another queue inside! This one took about 30 minutes. When you are finally called to go on the Skywalk you are asked to put shoe covers on and then you join another queue (!!) for photos because no one is allowed to take any personal possessions with them - everything, including your mobile phone, must be placed in a locker. This is a real money-making scam and is incredibly disappointing after paying a lot for the tickets in the first place and queueing for over 2.5hrs!

That being said, we wanted some pictures of our time on the Skywalk and we did have some taken. They were ok, nothing special considering the cots and time it took to get on the Skywalk, but I did purchase them.

The scenery is incredible and it was fun to be on the glass-floored bridge but it was in no way worth it for the extortionate costs and the over 2.5hrs of queuing for a 10-minute experience.

The second stop at Guano Point is far better in terms of the views of the Canyon, and there was no standing in line here, instead, we had lots of freedom to wander around at our own pace.

I found many of the staff at the ticket office (where you board the bus) quite rude and unhelpful. The lady that served us was almost rolling her eyes as we asked some simple questions about the experience ahead.

In summary, the experience is a rip-off and clearly, they're fleecing people for everything they can get which is such a shame.

Great but not for the cost

By Richard W |

What a total waste of money big time how these can cash in on stopping you looking at a natural canyon indian reserve. Theres no way to see it unless you pay extorcianate prices when you get a better view at the next point eagles point. Its wrong and should be left for people to admire for free. The glass walkway is ilundated with there own cameras and you have to wait ages to get on bcause of them raking the cash in. You cant take phones on there. There excuse is void. In case you drop it.

Big disappointment

Huge disappointment, rip-off times three.
Over $80, for which you have to stand in the heat, then wait a total of three quarters of an hour at the skywalk and the bus transfer. Then comes the climax: cell phones have to stay outside. I'm lost for words

Don't Waste Your Time and Money on This Place

By Sus A |

Big waste of time and money. It cost $77 per person (with a discount) and we spent most of our time standing in a line. The skywalk is over a side canyon, which doesn't really show the grandeur of the Grand Canyon. Go to either the North or South rim of the Grand Canyon where the view is magnificent and the entry fee not outrageous. Also, they don't allow any of your own cameras, so you have to pay them an arm and a leg to take pictures for you.

No view for you!

By Marie |

Very disappointing! We spent over 3 hours waiting in line for the tickets, the buses, the line to get into the Skywalk building, and the line inside the Skywalk building. Actual time spent at Skywalk enjoying the view- 10 minutes. We also ate at the restaurant. This was another mistake. It was the end of the day, a little after 4 pm (they closed at 4:30 pm). We were seated in the middle of the restaurant. We asked if we could sit by the windows for the view, and were told no. I asked why. I was told that it was the rule due to Covid...although people were seated there earlier, the table was cleaned and I noted no one was social distancing or wearing a face covering, not even the restaurant staff. Because the answer didn't make sense, we decided to move anyway. That's when the fun began. The Operations Manager came over to us and asked us to move back to our original table. I again asked why, as the restaurant was now closed, many tables were available, and we had already moved to the new table with our belongings, food and began eating. I was told, quite literally, "because that's the rule". Not very compelling. She then called Security to remove us from the restaurant. Security arrived; we had a respectful discussion; they must have agreed with us, because they allowed us to finish our meal at the new table. On our way out, I noticed two women filming us. I asked why they were doing this, and they said they couldn't believe how we were being treated and wanted to post our experience to the internet. I'm looking for the post, once I find it, I'll try to include it here. Needless to say, the meal experience was not very good, neither was the food. I would not recommend this place...both the actual Skywalk and the dining experience were very disappointing. Recommendation: skip Skywalk and go to the real Grand Canyon and enjoy this magical experience the way you should.

DON'T DO IT!!!! PLEASE SPARE YOURSELF!!!

By ABACUSES |

This was a waste of time and money. The entire process was completely unorganized. When you see the videos online, it can be really tempting. Don't fall for it. The Skywalk is a 100% money grab to fund the Hualapai Reservation. Let's start with the ticketing process. Groupon will save you a couple bucks, but then you get no refund if weather prevents you from going out. Getting someone to answer the phone is near impossible. Go ahead, try it before you buy. Pretend you already bought and need assistance or a refund. You'll get rerouted and disconnected so many times. The only way to get a live voice is to lie about why you're calling and press other options. Again, try it and see for yourself. Now the staff experience doesn't get any better at the information areas, restaurants, or gift shops. They want your money but would rather you not be there. In all honesty, I would have been better off sending a donation than actually going. Next, the trip. You will spend over a hour on a TERRIBLE two-lane, pothole filled road. The scenery is a complete void, but just as well as you need to focus on dodging potholes. When you arrive, there is a remote parking lot. You wait, and wait ...... and wait in a long for a shuttle to take you out there. When you arrive, plenty of areas to spend money, but to get to the Skywalk, you then proceed to another long line to wait, and wait ... and wait even more. At that point, you're told you cannot take your phone or camera outside on the skywalk. Of course they are more than willing to get some photos of you on the skywalk and graciously take money from you to preserve the memory. However, even for that, you have yet another line to wait in just to get to the photographer. In total, we spent over $200 for a five minute walk, no pictures and over 4 hours of terrible driving, waiting and shuttling. It wasn't fun, and the entire family was unanimous on the experience. If you've read this far and wondering why I gave it a 2 instead of 1, well, that's all God's fault for creating such a view. It's nothing I didn't get and get better at the south rim, but I figured I've waste more for less so 2 it is. Many of the great reviews are on the view. You can get that without spending $200 at the south rim. And the views are better there.

Skywalk is not worth it

By Leo E |

A lot of commercial exploitation on the part of the indigenous people, you pay 79 dollars to have access to Skywalk, and you can't take the cell phone because they want to charge for the photos. Not to mention the floor is all scratched. Detestei.

Run away!

By mulizo2b |

To boycott!

Catch tourists, the view is beautiful but he forbids to have his phone and personal effects on either because they sell their group photo 50$!

The Guano Point viewpoint is 100 times better and free!

Rip-off

By Brenda S |

Would not refund ticket in the midst of pandemic when CDC guidelines were followed and travel had to be cancelled at the last minute for someone in our group. Even with advance ticketing, we had to wait in line a long time to board a shuttle bus to the Skywalk, then had to wait a long time in a line that stretched about 1/2 mile to take a 5-minute walk on the crowded Skywalk, and then had to wait a long time to board a shuttle bus back to the parking lot. Spent 99% of time at Grand Canyon West waiting in line. Poorly run and refund policy out of sync with federal guidelines for covid travel.

Guano point

By patricia P |

Super cool. I was hesitant that we couldn't bring anything with us on the glass but the professional photographers were great. $50 for all digital photos. Shuttle to Guano point was the highlight. Rocky but easy to navigate for panoramic views. This is all on the walapai reservation which I didn't know. I thougth it was part of the NPS.

Totally Overpriced Attraction.

By Flyer674966 |

Huge disappointment. Over Priced, Waiting Ages, Poor Attractions, Poor Staff.

Guano Point was Brilliant, but amazingly the stop after the optional SkyWalk that you pay extra for.
Rope barriers at Skywalk for Health & Safety reason's (Stop you looking over the edge), yet Guano point was free to roam as pleased.

There was not enough buses taking people around the three sites and long queues built up in the heat.

The attractions where poor and something that you would expect from the 1970's.

We visited Hoover Dam and Tour $30 and Red Rock Canyon $15 per car.

Hualapai Indian Reservation $126, Amazing that.

They will reply to my comment, not agreeing. But my opinion, is just that!!
But my word there was a lot of people that agreed with me on the day!!

Canyon was awesome

By Ccchaz |

Do NOT get photos at the skywalk. It is a complete ripoff. They get your money and you get nothing but generic canyon photos.. your personal photos can't be obtained.

Grand Canyon Skywalk

By Don D |

Views are fantastic. Went early morning and the weather was comfortable. The price is a little high but it’s out in the desert so you figure they need to recoup their money and make a living. The souvenir shop was comparable to other shops. You can take your cell phone on the skywalk so we didn’t buy any pictures. The staff were very friendly. Worth doing once.

An impressive feature, just missing a sign saying "Leave your cash here and f#@k off".

By DogEgg |

We spent way longer driving to get here, than we spent actually at the Western Rim.

Good: The horseshoe shaped bridge is an impressive thing and the view is fabulous

Bad: It just felt like a cash grab to me. You can't take cameras onto the bridge, but they can. You can't take any possessions onto the bridge, except the metal locker key securing your possessions.

The kids were done in minutes.

Extortionate Prices

By Linda |

You can't find definitive prices for the grand canyon, and i read it was supposed to be paid per car, not individually. It is just total greed and pay pay pay. Cost $75 each, which is way over the top. They bus you down to the skywalk and then don't allow you to take any personal items on the bridge, cause they want to make more money out of you by taking your pics. We declined this but then you can barely walk round as 4 different photographers are taking pics at different locations on the bridge, so impedes you walking round. Guana point which is your second stop is free for all and much better. Definitely a money making racket on their part.

Don’t waste your time or money!

By Anna |

As others have said this is a total money making scam and definitely not worth the time or money! We went on an organised tour and paid extra to include the Skywalk. We spent over an hour queuing which meant our group were waiting for us as not everyone had opted to do the skywalk. No personal possessions are allowed on it and you have to put your stuff on lockers. No photographs allowed apart from by the official photographers.

We queued even longer to go in the photograph queue. If you don’t want photos you can skip this part of the queue however it was still an hour to get to this part. The photographer was rude, making jokes about my friend which were actually quite offensive. He suggested strange poses and his photos were terrible! They only had 3 photographers and they had no sense of urgency or efficiency despite the very long queues. The photo are expensive! 25 dollars for one or 50 for the lot (however many you manage to take).

This is not worth your time or money! You get the same view stood by the side of it (obviously you can’t see the view down into the canyon but you’re not missing much)!

Not worth it

By Odilaida |

Absolutely not worth the wait..
We were waiting in 3 different queues for over 2 hours to get to the skywalk and at the end it was totally not worth it.

The entrance is pretty pricy too if you count the entrance ticket and the skywalk ticket all together.

You cannot take your phone with you and if you want your pictures taken, it costs 50 bucks per 10 photos.

Nice - but not that nice

By Robert P |

Way overpriced. It's not just the $27 you have to pay to walk on it. You first have to pay $57 just to have them drive you 1 mile on a bus. You can't take pictures and they charge at least $75 for their photos.

WHAT THEY YOU DON’T TELL YOU!

By Jane K |

If you’re expecting a prime position in order to take the perfect photo, then think again! You are not allowed to take any personal possessions out with you and this includes your mobile phone. If you want a photo you have to queue up and eventually you are called forward, whereby a photographer will take a couple of photo’s for you, of which you pay for and it’s only a link to a download. Our photos were not worth purchasing, as they looked way over exposed and false. All other places at The Grand Canyon were not easily assessable and were roped off. This made a decent photograph near on impossible to achieve. All in all, a lot of money for a mediocre experience and sub standard photos.

AN ABSOLUTELY MONUMENTAL RIP OFF TO THE TOURIST. AMERICA YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

By Mark S |

Let’s look at the bigger picture here. This is a monumental rip off for gullible tourists. And the rating I gave is for the Skywalk experience only.

I was suckered in unaware and so this is an honest review. And whilst I am be honest, the Grand Canyon is on most peoples bucket list, and for good reason.

However, let’s look at the actual cost. First of all you have to get there and of course this differs per individual or group depending where you have come from. Then on top of this, when you are parked up it’s a staggering $52 U.S. per person for a two stop 10 minutes in total bus drive. Then if you want to do the Glass floor walk it’s a further $25 dollars. Then, when you get in they insist on taking your phone and/or camera from you so you are essentially banned from taking photo’s of YOUR memory.
They want you to spend at least a further $25 dollars on just ONE photo. Alternatively, $50 dollars for EIGHT photo’s. Where is the logic. I looked at some photo’s a group had taken and all eight photo’s were essentially the same.!!!!

You will be given a FREE locker (WOW!) to store your phone before you go through an airport type scanner.

Unbelievable right? NO, IT’S TRUE. At one point I counted more ‘official photographers on the glass floor than customers. And there was the so called 'security' who arebasically just jobs worths stopping you from taking photos. Stopping you from making memories. I got my phone through though and took some photo’s. An old boy ‘security guy ‘ demanded my phone from me and I refused. I told him it’s my personal possession . He demanded I hand over the phone and unlock it, I said no it’s my personal phone. He then demanded I erase the photo’s, I again said no, they are my personal photographs taken by me in a public place. He asked me again and again I refused. He asked me to leave, by which time I was at the end of the walk so no big deal. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THESE ‘SECURITY’ JOBSWORTHS.
Regarding the view, it’s certainly no better on the glass walkway than it is before you enter the building. Totally honest about this. The second 5 minute bus journey further round the canyon offers mush more spectacular views.

Back to the cost, so $52 x 25 (average number) people on the bus = $1300 .

Three buses every 20 minutes is equal to around $3900 per hour. Is gas/petrol really that expensive in the USA? I DON’T THINK SO.

Let’s say they run this for 8 hours in the day on average and this equates to $31200 per day.

And for arguments sake this is around $11,388,000 per year.
Even taking wages into account for the staff this is a monumental rip off to the tourist trade.

And don’t forget the overpriced tee shirt if you buy one and get one 50% off. The American retailers love this so called ‘offer’.

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND DON’T GET RIPPED OFF.

Spectacular view

By sb_travels |

Not as scary as I thought, likely because the flooring of the walk is scratched enough to make it difficult to see through. It’s a beautiful area though maybe not necessary to do the skywalk itself. The restaurant had a spectacular view, but wish I could say the same for the food.

Amazing Views

By valliam13 |

Again, another place with views you can’t even describe. You just have to come see it yourself. It’s different than the south rim too so it’s worth making the drive out to the skywalk. We ate at the restaurant at the skywalk stop. It wasn’t that great. There’s actually 3 stops along the bus route that you take to the skywalk. We stopped at Eagle Point where the skywalk is and Guano Point. Both had amazing views!! Definitely a place to come to again.

Glass completely fogged up, terrible food!

By Wagner M |

Glass completely fogged up, terrible food! We paid for the sky walk but we walked on frosted glass with no maintenance!! Completely blurry, a shame... I never expected this type of abandonment in an attraction that you pay to enter.
In an attempt to improve our spirits, we went to eat something at the restaurant inside the sky walk building… then it all came down to a big mistake. Be careful, if you go there, take your own snacks but be careful as alcoholic drinks are not included!!
Were they “capitalist” Indians who pretended to be administrators and abandoned the place due to incompetence?

Great trip

By 348gailt |

Husband and I visited the Grand Canyon Skywalk recently.
Here's my opinion.
Price did not seem outrageous to us. It was $46 for entrance, and $71 to include Skywalk. We went on the weekend that was experiencing the high winds for Nevada/Arizona areas. Compared to the Florida tourist traps like Disney, the price was doable. And we live in Florida. Skywalk was breathtaking, and the photographers did six pictures with various poses. We did buy the $50 picture package, as it includes an extra 29 of the Skywalk view. I really wasn't offended by having to leave your camera or phones in lockers, I understand why. There isn't really enough room for people to be taking pictures and posing on the Skywalk without being intrusive to others. And safety, the winds that day would rip anything out of your hands.
The buses you catch to Guano Point are entertaining and there again, were not crowded bc it's not prime tourist time. They were full, but not filled to brim. The tour guides on buses are very informative, especially Billy, who has it down pat. We even saw a coyote in middle of road, and he stopped so we could all look and get a picture. Guano Point is the best for pictures. You can climb the lookout points for a wonderful view, walk close to the edge for shots of the river and see the historic mine remnants of how miners used to get across canyon to mine the guano(bat droppings)
The gift shops are my downfall, so we won't go there. But they do have beautiful souvenirs. The gift shop at Guano Point is cheaper than the one at Eagle Point, and they have a better selection. Yes, the food is very expensive. We opted to take the last tour ourselves and drive to Hualapai Point, bc it's a five minute drive. In summer it may be a good place to visit, but we were not impressed. It's like a movie set stage with a few shops and a restaurant. It was very windy that day and only three things were open. We ate at the restaurant bc it was the end of day and we were starving. They have an option of 5 meals, all costing the same $25 per meal. By the end of day they were out of everything except tacos. Food was good, but not worth the $25 per person.
The question is, is it worth it? I would say so bc you only experience it once in a lifetime. And you can say you walked on the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

Not worth the money

By Tasha J |

I would not recommend the skywalk. One pays $54 for general admission. It is an extra $28 for the skywalk. The glass on the skywalk has become so scuffed up over time that you can not see through it to have any type of good visibility of the canyon below. My parents had been here years ago and said the view was magnificent back then and a totally different experience. Now that you can barely see through the floor it is not very interesting or exciting. It seemed like a rip off to me. They really need to replace the glass or figure a way to restore it. The website stated you could buy a photo for $17 but when you get there the photographer tells you the website has not been updated and you can only get a photo for $65.

Skywalk or cliff walk.

By Maurizio N |

The Skywalk is part of the Eagles Point Grand Canyon park. Seriously people. We found that it wasn't worth the time or money for the Skywalk. We lined up for half an hour, finally gained access to find that it was crowded, the views weren't any better than you got on the cliff sides of the Eagles Point. The glass bottom is not clear. The native photographers were constantly telling us to "get out the way, were trying to pose pictures!" Yes, you cannot take your own pictures on the Skywalk. Just skip it and wander the park and enjoy the views from the cliffs and enjoy the native culture.

Complete waste of time and money

By Bobby L |

This is nothing but a tourist trap. $71 for essentially tiny walking/viewing area. No phone allowed. $25 for single photo from their "professional" photographer with the skill of a 10yr old. With absolutely nothing else around, totally not worth the trip here.

Fabulous Must-Do

By DeeFry |

The Skywalk is fabulous and a must-do if seeing the Grand Canyon. It's not scary at all, and the view is spectacular. We decided to have the professional photographer take our picture since no cell phones allowed on the Skykwalk, and we were glad that we did. We also bought a package deal of our photos, plus 20 professional photos of the Skywalk for $50, and it was worth it.

Please note that it's must cooler at the Skywalk than in Las Vegas, so dress warm.

Skywalk is not close the the South Rim, about 4 hours drive away. We flew into Las Vegas, drove 2 hours to Skywalk (did the admission, Skykwalk, and meal deal). You arrive at the gift shop and shuttle bus to the Skywalk, have a nice meal at the view restaurant, and later hop on the bus to Guano Point. Take time to browse the gift shop as they have lot of wonderful souvenirs. We then drove to the South Rim, which took 4 hours.

If we did this again, we would consider staying overnight near the West Rim (maybe Peach Springs), and then drive 2 hours to the South Rim next morning.

Total Rip-off

By Daniel P |

We were charged $157 for 2 tickets (my mistake of not checking before the 2 hour drive to get there). We spent a great deal of time waiting for the bus to take us to the stops. At the Skywalk they force you to leave your phones in a locker so they can sell you their overpriced photos. The wait to go out on the walkway was very long because they had to be sure everyone was photographed. The views were good but not close to the free views at the national park. Unfortunately it was a bad experience.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

By Dessie C |

Definately a tourist trap. Takes 3 hours after paying before you are acrually there. Queuing all the time. 20 mins to pay, 30 mins waiting on a bus to get there then 2 hours standing in a long winding queue before getting to get on the walkway. No pictures, cameras or phones allowed. All items placed in lockers before going on Skywalk. Staff are on the skywalk to take pictures for a price. Then a bus ride to Eagles Point where you do see the Grand Canyon. Best to skip skywalk and just pay general admission price to see Grand Canyon at Eagles Point. This is NOT a disabled tourist friendly attraction. I found staff to be rude and unhelpful. Gift shop is full off overpriced gits and the food unedible. Better to visit Williams AR nearby on Route 66 and it costs nothing to have a look around a lovely town full od Route 66 Memorbilia.

Skywalk adventure

By Teresa P |

An amazing adventure that anyone can experience. I would love to do this again. Hopefully we can make this happen next year.

Disappointed

By KAREN A |

Extremely long que, waited over an hour, totally disorganised all so the photographers can take your picture! No cell phones, cameras, bags can be taken on the sky walk. If you've chosen not to have a picture you feel rushed and in everyone's way.

Amazing spot to experience the Grand canyon.

By Alex S |

Amazing views. Nicely run place. They do not allow cellphone use, so you cannot take pictures, but they have photographers on site that will take pics for a fee.
There are several ways to get there, such as bus tours, helicopter tours and even airplane, but we just rented a vehicle and drove from Vegas. Nice drive through the desert. Once you get there, there is plenty of parking. I would suggest you get the tickets online beforehand, as it is cheaper and more convenient. They have shuttle buses that will take you from the parking to the skywalk. The views are amazing and the glass bridge is both scary and beautiful.

Rip-off and lousy profiteering - it can be better... see text

By ua748000 |

Absolute cheek! It is a rip-off that cannot be described. The Skywalk supposedly bans smartphones and cameras for safety reasons. It's all about money. Even if media reports are about the rights of the Indians (Hulalapai Indians), a reasonable donation would be better. Since people are reluctant to give and the donation containers remain EMPTY, I think: You pay a transparent FEE to use the platform WITH or WITHOUT a smartphone/cell phone. This also guarantees that you retain the RIGHTS to your OWN IMAGE, determine the QUALITY (whether bad or good - you are responsible for it yourself), and that it is your OWN image. The friendly Indian gentlemen are also welcome to take the photo with their OWN device, because you have already paid at the ADMISSION to be allowed to take your cell phone with you. Whether you take one or 10 pictures - this way you are freer and more open to the fact that the proceeds from the platform benefit the Indians. That feels better to me than a compulsory tax, which really doesn't suit the "Indians" who are close to nature and need harmony. The wise chiefs should think about that, because it also makes the feeling of "having done something good with the money" more tangible.

Conclusion:
Therefore, with the current procedure: queuing at the Skywalk despite having booked a ticket in Germany is guaranteed! So STAY AWAY from it! Don't book in Germany - and don't buy a ticket on site either! In the USA, you can see the rip-off with your own eyes.

Alternative:
By the way, there are better offers and if you book the official bus tours, you will even be taken to another viewing point where the view is 100% better. So always take a close look at the operator - if necessary, book through the travel agency - because the tour operators are interested in satisfied customers. For advertising reasons, I cannot name the company that ran our bus tour. But this much: Departure from LV - tour to the rip-off place - then the "real" view, on the way back a view of the Hoover Dam with a stop at the bridge... what more could you want! The rights to the uploaded images are available and private! People have been made unrecognizable.
The second image shows the alternative and free view.

Skywalk IS WORTH DOING for the Guamo point trip by bus.

By Simone G |

Many people say this is a rip off but when you add in the visit by bus to Guamo point which is truly spectacular ( not accessible on your own as it’s on Indian land) this is well worth the admission fee. Skywalk itself is cool but underwhelming- Guamo point is the highlight there. Don’t miss!!

Note the staff can sometimes seem bored or disinterested
But some are friendly
To avoid ques go in spring or autumn

Some good, but mostly bad…

By Brian C |

On the plus side, this area is the closest and most accessible part of the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas for a day trip and is actually a very beautiful drive from Vegas. Yes - you are visiting a beautiful viewpoint for the Grand Canyon, but this is a poorly run tourist-trap for many reasons. We visited on a Monday and purchased tickets in advance for the general admission and Skywalk. From the time you arrive at the Visitor Center, you will be in a constant line. A line to get on a bus to take you to the West Rim. Then, on the day we visited, a 1.5hr long line to actually get onto the Skywalk! Once you finally get onto the Skywalk, be aware that they will not let you take a camera or phone! So, after paying $68 per person and waiting in the ridiculously long line to get in - no pictures. Your only option is to pay for poorly done and way overpriced photos they take - and then stamp their cheesy labels on. Then, back in a long line to wait for the bus to take you back to the Visitor Center. I understand that this is a tourist destination, but this place is over the top. I’m glad we got to see a national landmark while in Vegas, but walked away from this experience feeling ripped off.

Security on the Skywalk have double standards, no mobile phones means none… they are safety officers not Policemen…..

Skywalk: Wallets Dive, You Soar!

By Nik S |

Step right up, thrill-seekers! Have you ever gazed at the vast expanse of the Grand Canyon and thought, “This is nice, but what it really needs is a glass floor and a side of highway robbery?” Enter the Grand Canyon Skywalk! The ultimate answer to the question nobody asked.

Cameras? Oh, you silly goose! Why would you want to immortalize this once-in-a-lifetime experience with your own measly device when they offer the exclusive privilege of buying a photo from them? It’s like going to a gourmet restaurant and being charged to sniff the aroma.

If you’ve ever dreamed of walking on a giant, transparent cereal box prize while simultaneously feeling both vertigo and buyer’s remorse, this is the destination for you! It’s so exclusive, even your own camera isn’t allowed to see it.

So come on down and empty those pockets, because nothing says ‘I’ve truly experienced nature’ like a shiny, overpriced souvenir and the feeling of being ever-so-charmingly swindled. Bravo, Skywalk! You’ve turned natural wonder into a wonder of… entrepreneurial audacity! Chef’s kiss! 😚👌🎪🎭

Amazing

By fatboyracing |

Had a blast. Pictures can't do this place justice. When you arrive you go to the main terminal. They have shuttle busses going to 3 stops. 1st eagle point, (skywalk) very pretty. 2nd guano point - best views of all. Last stop some western town it felt like a tourist trap.

Pass on this one

By SuburbanMomof2kids |

This was not necessary and a waste of money. The rest of the sites that have incredible views are included in the general admissions.

Way less thrilling than expected - pass this one!

By DMinSIN |

Rather disappointing experience.
Views and thrills aren't as exciting as expected, as the skywalk does not stretch over the Colorado river bed itself. Photos are not allowed, instead one can buy 6 shots, taken by semi-pros, for USD 50. The queuing took ages. The whole place looks a bit run-down.
Pass this one and go straight to Guano Point with the views one would expect from visiting the Grand Canyon.

Grand Canyon Skywalk

By Todd C M |

The Canyon is an awe inspiring, beautiful thing!
BUT, the Skywalk is HORRIBLE!
It’s a HUGE money grab waste of time!
The folks running the place are not friendly, and abrasive. They totally ruined what should be a great experience!

GO TO THE SOUTH, OR NORTH RIMS.

By Yoel M |

Don't waste your time - don't throw your money !!!
The "Sky walk", is nothing, but a glorified glass balcony, serving as a trap for photo opps. (your phot devices are NOT ALLOWED). It is crowded with visitors posing, lying on the opaque glass floor and the photos are expeeeeensive. The whole west rim is exuberantly expensive. it is not worth the hours of driving.

Disappointment of the Skywalk but Guano Point is worth the detour 👍🏼

By Isab971 |

Really disappointed, exorbitant price €70 per person for a passage on a half footbridge where they give you shoe covers so as not to damage the floor (I would have understood if we could see through it if it was not already damaged ) and in addition they confiscate all your belongings to put in a safe in the cloakroom just before your entry including of course your mobile phone because you are not allowed to take photos because they take photos of you (if you wish) for " modest” sum of €80
Complete scam so for 10€ more per person you can see a second site Guano Point so here I strongly recommend it because you are free to film or photograph the grand canyon which is magnificent we went there around 6:15 p.m. 30 with the lights of the sunset falling on the rocks really too beautiful
So disappointed by the Skywalk but the Guano Point erased this disappointment despite everything

Skip the skyway and save yourself time, money and patience

By Vee |

The skywalk itself is cool, but the process to get on the skywalk and the fact that you can’t bring your own camera or phone after paying tons of money and waiting on a long line for entry, all seems ridiculous. There are people that haphazardly take your photo in a hurried herding cat sort of way and try to charge you $50 for digital photos that you would otherwise have deleted off your own camera. The reason they say is because the land is sacred. Really?? What about all the other surrounding area that allows for your own camera on the same reservation? The only thing that seemed sacred is the almighty dollar in that scenario. Skip the skywalk and just see the same spectacular view in the surrounding area without wasting your time, money, and patience.

Overrated

By veronak |

Not worth it. I thought the extension of the walk was further out. You can’t take your own photos, and it’s extremely unorganized.

Don’t pay the extra $50 for the photos, we are having a hard time getting ours. We will probably end up disputing the charge.

SO much for so little

By exploradiva |

Ouch. SO expensive for a literal, 10 minute experience. Luckily, we had a senior citizen in our party and were allowed to skip the line for entry, or else we would have had to wait an hour to even enter. NO photos allowed but for theirs. We heard Guano Point was better but had no time to do it.

Not great - not terrible - somewhere in the middle

This is a hard review to write, there are so many negatives on here about it, but also quite a lot of positives.

I am in the middle - Mid February, I arrived around 10am and there were about 3 other cars in the carpark. Nobody tried to sell me anything, I just asked for admission only, and the bored looking girl sold me that ticket with not conversation. Got straght on the bus with 4 other people. There wasnt really any explanation of what the setup was - where to go, what to do, how many stops there were, etc. It would have been good to have been given or even offered some kind of brochure with the ticket.

Dropped off at Eagle point, where one of the tribesmen wandered over to speak to the 5 of us, but in a very informal way, so it wasn't really clear that this was part of it. I went in the shop for a look around, and anyone going to the skywalk would go then. I have to say that the actual skywalk is so much smaller than it appears on the website, there were 2 people who walked around it and then off again and someone loitering to I assume, make sure no one was taking sneaky pictures.

You then get back on the bus - again, no instruction, and get taken to the next place, fortunately the bus driver was very happy to be a tour guide and give me all the info that I didn't get anywhere else.

Guano point is the second (final) place, it has a nice but very short "hike", a cafe and some toilets.

I managed to stretch out my entire visit to just under 2 hours, that was walking around gauno point twice, taking my own lunch and eating it (even though ti was only 11am) and buying a drink.

For me this was a nice outing, but a very expensive on at $53 for less than 2 hours, I'm not saying don't go, just don't go with high expectations. I haven't been to the North or South rim of the Grnad Canyon yet, but I gather this is the poor relation. Given how far out this place is, I would probably say give it a miss if you have been to the other 2 ?

Not A Happy Camper

Thought this would be fun to see and hoped we could just see the canyon without going on the skywalk. Drove almost 2 hours to get there on poor roads. Finally thought we had arrived but instead came to the entrance and could not get near the Canyon from here without paying. Indian Police pointing where to park and could only say that all the information was inside. Walked a long distance to get in and found a huge line waiting to buy tickets inside their trinket shop. It was a zoo. Then it was announced that it was at least 1 1/2 hours before those with tickets could do the walkway. It was now 3:00 p.m and the sun would be going down at 5:00. No way for those in line to get a ticket and get to the skywalk before it got dark. We left and upon driving out of the parking lot got nasty looks from the Indian parking police because we were not following their directions to park. Did not read reviews before-my mistake!!! If they made improvements and did not want to rip people off for every penny they would have more come and spend money that would help them in the long run. Not sure where or who is getting the money. See by one review that you can get a free shuttle to a view area but you still need to pay to take a bus to the area. Not sure what that would cost and they don't want people to know so you feel you have to pay after standing in line for so long and driving so far. Guess we will never see this part of the Canyon!!!

Skywalk line incredibly loooong!

By Terry P |

It’s a magnificent place, but I couldn’t tell you about the Skywalk. After standing in line outside for an hour in the sun, we were able to enter the building. We were so saddened to find out that the interior of the building was nothing but lines. The wait would have been easily another hour crammed together in lines! I now know why they say no refunds!!! I wish they would post signs like amusement parks about wait time. Or not tell you on their advertisement that you can see all three stops in two to three hours! Wish they communicated that the wait would be hours, even in their non peak hours.

Waste of time and my money

By T D |

Here's what will happen if you want to see this place:

-Get in a long line just to get in the building.
-Forced to put your phones in a locker room because they wanna charge you money just to take pictures.
-Get in line to go through the security metal detector gate. Can't sneak in those phones!
-Get in line to put on their slippers to protect their precious Skywalk (the skywalk was dirty and scratched up anyway)
-Get in line to go out to the actual Skywalk

The Skywalk is a lot smaller than one would imagine looking at the advertisement pictures, and it is thoroughly unimpressive.

Expensive

We drove from Georgia to see this. Wouldn’t do it again. The experience was very under-whelming and expensive. $90+ per person.

Making jokes of special needs people

By Kimberly H |

Almost perfect..... The employees there need to be addressed. Apparently there is a on going thing they share... the cow joke.. " watch out for the cows.... they don't move. They are talking about they paying costumers. This was said many times while we were there. But when it was said to a autistic woman struggling to come down the stairs of the shuttle. That was uncalled for! It was rude and embarrassing for her. The shuttle driver is really lucky that I was the only one that knew that was said and why. The man at the sky walk scanning the tickets is also just as lucky.

Discourteous Crowds are making this unenjoyable as well as expensive feat now.

By Tushar_TorCan |

It was just Ok, nothing spectacular. Yes - you do get a good view of the height below your feet due to the glass floor but it wasn't worth the US$65 they charged though when I found out that the admission fee itself has risen to $50 then it doesn't look so bad! Plus they don't let you take the cellphones as well so you can't take any pictures of your own and so that they can fleece you with a $50 photo. I couldn't understand their logic stating no personal item is allowed so that the glass doesn't get scratched. How can a cellphone scratch such solid strong glass and if it does, then there is some serious challenge!!
View of the river is good though it's the people who make this experience not fun...too many Californians making this an awful experience which could have been an enjoyable time. Guano point was good and provided expansive views of the canyon as well as winding River. Overall 3 stars is what I'd give it.

Amazing views but avoid the Skywalk at all costs.

By Tim M |

As many have said before, visiting the Grand Canyon is a great experience but doing the Skywalk takes the sheen off it.
When we arrived at the Skywalk, we were pleased to see only a short queue of around 50 people but it still took over an hour to get on to the platform. We knew we weren’t allowed to take our own photos so this wasn’t a surprise but the photos we actually got from their “professional” photographers were truly dreadful. All five photos (which cost an arm and a leg) were horribly staged and all but one was full of other people in the background on the skywalk, blocking the views of the amazing scenery.
Would highly recommend visiting, going to Eagle Point, Guano Point for the views and Hualapai Point for the fry-bread Tacos but avoid the skywalk at all costs.
Also worth pointing out that the gift shops are full of items that suggest they are made by First Nations members and/or authentic but that doesn’t seem to be the case. When I got home I found a tiny sticker on the base of the stone carving I purchased telling me it was made in Pakistan.

Amazing experience.

Amazing experience. The photos were great and the photographer so thoughtful and made sure we have the best photos. I loved it.

Just heads up there is only one package for $65 for about 40 photos. They don't tell if to you ahead of time so just good to know. My suggestion would be to either have more package options or give the price up front. Besides that a great experience! :)

Thank you!!!

Way overpriced and completely rude staff! Please do not waste your time and money!

By Sophie S |

*Way overpriced and completely rude staff! Do not waste your time and money! There are far better places to view the Grand Canyon*

As the saying goes, if I could give it zero stars...

It is complete chaos prior to stepping out onto the walkway. You have to go through metal detectors and the staff shouts in your face the entire time for you to place your bags, phones, hats, etc. in a locker. And heaven forbid you forget your phone is on your person, this is when the real harassments begins. They kick you out, follow you, and become very combative.

Next you have to wear covers for your shoes. They charge far too much for a few feet of an unimpressive and far too overcrowded walkway. They also charge for any pictures you want taken, also overpriced. Not worth it at all and I wish we hadn't wasted the day! There are far better spots to view the Grand Canyon where you aren't paying an exuberant price and being harassed. Nothing but an overall horrible experience for our trip.

The pictures on their advertising make the walkway appear to be more than what it really is. The staff taking pictures of suckers who paid $50-100+ for a few photos push you out of the way and on a cloudy day you can't see anything below your feet through the glass bottom anyways. Please save your time and money! I wish I had looked at the bad reviews prior to travelling a great distance to get there.

Do not pay for this.

By Thomas M |

I paid 300$ in total for 4 persons and they did not let me take photos with my mobile phone. To tell the truth they say that in the website. What they do not tell you is that if you would like to take a photo, there are assigned photographers that request 65$ for a single photo. What is the reason I paid such an amount?Disappointing.

Photo experience at skywalk was not worth

By Road640664 |

Worst photos ever.2 disaster photos were taken and was very expensive .We were not allowed to take our cameras. However it was really disappointing that the photos taken was so unprofessional and super expensive.Wont recommend and not worth what you pay for.

Don’t waste your time

By NeptuneBelle |

The skywalk is a fun and unique experience but it’s not worth the hassle. We drove from Kingman (90 minutes) and it’s a long and boring drive. The price is very high compared to a National park admission ticket. When we arrived, we had to park and take a shuttle bus the rest of the way. Another hassle. When we arrived at the main building, it felt very commercialized and all roads lead to the gift shop. We were VERY disappointed that we were forced to our all of our belongings in a locker before walking out to the skywalk. We could not even take our cell phones to take pictures of the view. They have metal detectors to ensure you can’t bring anything. Yet another hassle. While the walk across the skywalk was cool, it was not worth all of the driving, cost, and time. Fortunately, we packed a picnic lunch that we enjoyed at Guano Point, where our sons could climb the rocks and enjoy an even better view than the skywalk. I wish we had spent another day in Bryce Canyon or Zion and skipped this altogether.

Eyes may be closed in your photos and they don't care!

By Debi |

Everything was overpriced. My main issue was with the pictures, We paid the extra price to do the skywalk for 4 people. It was saddening that we were not allowed to bring a camera or a phone for pictures. We chose to wait in the longer line for the pictures. I am terrified of heights, my oldest met us from California for this trip and I wanted some photos to commemorate our trip. The photographer had us in a few different spots with a few different poses. After paying another $50 to get to download the pictures, once we got home, I was very disappointed that in almost half of the pictured, my husband's eyes were closed. In one of them both his and my eyes were closed, It seems to me that the photographer would check to make sure all eyes were open since he had us close our eyes before taking the picture. When I reached out to customer service, their response was that only 1 picture had my eyes closed. I am not sure what happened to other pictures that were taken. I tried to find out if there were others they didn't chose. Very dissapointed in the attention to detail of the pictures as well as the customer service. A once in a lifetime experience for us with a bad customer service experience. I would not recommend.

West rim worth the visit - skywalk....not so much.

By Brian C |

Visiting the Grand Canyon is truly a lifetime experience for many and definitely not just a bucketlist attraction. Anyone travelling to the USA southwest, in particular, Las Vegas, have the opportunity to visit this world wonder in a ~ 2 1/4 hour drive to the western rim which is much more manageable as a day trip than then 4.5 hour drive to the southern rim. The western rim is on Hualapai reserve land and visiting the west rim requires an admission of around $69 USD at the time of this review. The admission includes on-site shuttle transportation to two main points of interest on the canyon rim itself - Eagle Point and Guano Point. Eagle point is where the famous "skywalk" is located but has a separate admission cost of approximately $23 USD per person. I would say the cost to enjoy photographic opportunities here would be worth the incremental cost of the attraction, however, no personal items are allowed on the skywalk including cell phones or cameras. Instead, Hualapai photographers follow you for a series of several poses before leaving you to enjoy the views yourself. You may purchase those photos for an additional 55 USD. Unfortunately, the quality of the photos (likely a function of both time of day and experience of the photographer) in my opinion were relatively low quality and the viewing experience is really detracted by the interruptions and distractions of multiple groups having their photoshoots. Much more enjoyable, was the experience at Guano Point featuring a much larger area of outcrop to see the canyon features in near almost all compass directions. We were fortunate to arrive there around 5:30 in the afternoon and stayed until sunset which was absolutely stunning. My recommendation for the west rim experience - skip the skywalk and enjoy the views at Gunao Point!

Not worth the wait

By zombie_nurse |

After waiting almost 90minutes to get in we were held up by the photographers on the bridge slowing it down. You can’t take your own camera/phone and in all honesty it’s all I er in about 15 mins. Not worth the money or the wait.
It was part of a tour but this was not a reflection on the tour operator but poor organisation by those that run the Skywalk.
Get rid of the photographers but it’s a money maker so they won’t. Avoid.

I will NEVER come back to this place (Skywalk)

By Ben T |

I'll never come back to this part of the Grand Canyon. The Hualapai Indian Tribe controls this part of the Grand Canyon and this place has been the object of quarrels and lawsuits within the tribe. You will immediately notice that you have been had after you plunk $84 per person when they tell you that you can't bring your camera and any personal item with you at the Skywalk. They want to take YOUR picture so the can sell it back to YOU (6 poses, $50). There is a line (Disneyland style) where you get in line and are herded in 30 at a time. The line begins outside when there are plenty of visitors, it took us about an hour and half from when we started until we got out of the building. This Skyway is not work it folks. At the Skyway, there are several photographers who will take your photos and sell them to you before heading out (the pictures were not even sharp).

Their restaurants are mediocre at best (think taco salads), and everything else is deep fried. The woman who sat us was rude, the food was mediocre for something that was advertised as an upscale restaurant. Think steak bowls, chicken bowl with meat on top of lettuce, served in disposable containers and utensils. Tasteless and the meat was chewy.

I understand that the tribe needs money, but making a national treasure a commercialized tourist trap, I will not support.

Do no pay to go here

By Liam |

I went here with a tour and paid the extra for a skywalk tour. I would have thought it would be better, considering so many 5 star reviews.

This thing is a big money grab, there’s no other way to explain this. I waited an hour long to get to view this skywalk for about 2 minutes, if that. The worst part about the whole thing is you’re not allowed to bring your cell phones and take photos. Why would you want to do a skywalk and not take photos of the Grand Canyon?

It’s a money grab, you’re not allowed to take photos but they’ll take your photos and charge you $60 for them, on top of the price you paid to enter and wait. It was not that good of a view, the glass underneath is scratched to hell and looks 100 years old.

The sky walk only spans like 5 meters out from the entrance so you don’t even go over that much.

5 minutes after the sky walk I went to get lunch. Right next to the lunch stall there was a massive ditch where to could see the same as the skywalk but you could actually take photos.

I definitely would not have done this knowing what I know now. It was all just a big money scam. But I’m just one person, you can do what you want with your money 😜

An Expensive Tourist Trap

By Wanderer229300 |

This is an expensive tourist trap. We waited over an hour in the heat for a five minute view of the Grand Canyon that was no more impressive than from other viewing points that are already included in your park entrance fee. No cameras allowed, but they will sell you an expensive photo package. Time is better spent taking the shuttle to the different viewing areas & taking your own photos.
