Girls trip!

By keastw00d |

Had a great time with the girls exploring downtown Grapevine over Christmas. The lights were beautiful & the stores were unique. Also, loved the Grapevine farmers Market. Fresh produce and everything!

Cute town!

We visited this town while on a trip to Dallas! It is such a nice little town! I loved the Christmas decorations and all of the little shops and restaurants. The people in the town were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend visiting Grapevine!

Great place to wander!

By Julie M |

Historic Main Street District of Grapevine, TX is full of restaurants, shops, wine bars and fun things to do and sights to see. I was here on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed people watching as well as shopping and eating. While in town for a conference, I returned 3 more times for dinner and shopping. Great little town full of friendly people.

Christmas shopping

Came from Oklahoma to do some Christmas shopping. Grapevine’s Main Street District has a LOT of good stuff going on!

Lights are beautiful for Christmas celebrations

By Maureen J |

Main Street is really decked out with lights and also wonderful decorations. A lot of places for family pictures.

There are some standout shops, but also some very touristy ones

By Angela W |

We were visiting family in Dallas and saw all the shops for this town. We are not into wine but if you are there definitely plenty of Wineries and shops that cater to wine.
Our favorite shops were Chocolate Moonshine, Farmers Market of Grapevine, Texas General Store and the British Emporium. There were other shops that seemed a bit touristy, some of them even having some pretty nasty worded items for sale, so beware.
The streets and shops were well-maintained and pretty and you could definitely spend a few hours browsing and shopping as we did.

Great place to visit

By walmerbee |

We love Grapevine, excelled chops, bars, wine, cider and beer tasting and the excellent Weinbergers Deli. Many good events and the town hall is worth a visit to see the excellent paintings.

This town is so cute, a must visit!

By efustok |

I had no idea when I was booking my trip to Great Wolf Lodge, that this was around the corner. It made it such a highlight for me on our trip. It is so well kept, the shops and restaurants are great. So many outdoor spaces to sit, the place is just so stinking cute. I would definitely love to go again and visit.

Wonderful!

By alwayschoosetotravel |

Lovely shops, restaurants, atmosphere, and ambience. Could spend an hour, or multiple hours strolling in and out of charming shops, drinking, eating, and snacking.

Walk down Run

By Bernard W |

We enjoyed a leisurely stroll down Main Street. Pleasant weather, clean, wonderful architecture. Liked the murals on the side of some brick buildings, especially the Masonic one.

Great mother's day stroll

By witherspoonq |

Took the mothers in my family to Main Street for the afternoon after nice lunch. We enjoyed sipping wine and visiting the shops. The most interesting was the Spice and Tea Shop. Parking was easy. Everything was clean and neat. It's really shaped up since I was a kid

charming and historic

By Jennifer S |

This charming village is packing with lovely shops, fine dining, specialty shops and some some interesting history. Stop into the visitors center for a map of interesting spots.

Great area for shopping/dining/entertainment

By Channie055 |

Grapevine has surely grown over the years and the downtown area is lively, fun and has much in the way of shops, restaurants and entertainment (including wine tasting rooms). Farmer's market in the summer as well. You can easily spend several hours or more here. It's a laid back environment with the eclectic shops, sights and sounds away from all the hustle and bustle of the surround Dallas area. Very relaxing and walkable.

Cute

By JD1 |

Historic buildings, shops, boutique, visitors center, wine shops, restaurants, chocolate shop and souvenir shop. Nice to walk around and walk through various shops. Plenty of restaurants and wine bars in the area. Probably nice at night for dinner with lights and cooler temps. The visitors center has a play area set up for very small children and there is also a huge train set for adults and kids to see. Short drive from Gaylord Texan.

Even in the Rain Worth the Visit.

By JosephatFremont |

Stranded by storms that closed DWF we chose a hotel around this quaint little town for our unexpected overnight adventure. Wine , restaurants and beer with some cute retail shops line both sides of this little piece of history. Even in the rain we enjoyed our evening and the people we met.

A taste of Texas

By MimiRib |

Great place to take out of town guests ... especially out of state guests. Lots of restaurants, bars, unique shops & night life. Plenty of Texas-influenced souvenirs from cowboy boots to bookmarks.

You may to spend some time here

By Daline40 |

A wide range of shopssuch as one serving delicious pies, a farmers' market and a variety of restaurants, cafes and a fascinating museum as well as a glass blowing business is enough to keep you occupied without visiting the large number of wine bars.

Small town charm

By TXAGGIE00 |

Such a great visit on Main Street! It’s beautiful at Christmas. The amazing shops and wineries are terrific! I love supporting small town shops and got some great finds for myself and for others.

Lovely experience

By Jenny B |

Very cute downtown with cute shops and a few restaurants and bars. Lots of wineries. We took the train which leaves out of the Grapevine Station and it was a very pleasant experience.

Perfect Way to Spend a Few Hours

By BoyMomTex |

Whether on a date, friends trip or family gathering Historic Downtown Grapevine is an entertaining way to spend your time.

We visited the week after Christmas and see why HDG is the Christmas destination it boats to be. From cute boutiques and general stores to specialty shops and a farmers market with tamales the walk down Main St has something for everyone.

Many restaurants, snack shops and wineries will keep everyone with plenty to eat as well.

Free parking is available and the crosswalks have audio for those that may be visually impaired.

There were several little places for photos and entertainment for kids as well.

Can’t wait to go back in the spring.

What a cool place

By Richard P |

Downtown Grapevine is a great place to hang out with friends or family and shop or eat at o e of many good restaurants

Christmas lights and decoration everywhere

By lucianacordoba |

It's a must if you're visiting Texas at Christmas. The main street is filled with lights, shops and a festive atmosphere. The truth is a dream, there are restaurants and bars.. just be patient to get parking so you can walk the street from end to end.

Grapevine Main Street Fun

By Karoyl H |

I loved the diverse number of shops on Main St. Judy Pies and the Farmers Market are must visit places.

Charming!

By Sherri G |

What a lovely little town! It has a multitude of great shops and places to eat. You will enjoy the history too! If you need the chain shopping and eating it is only a couple of miles away. We stayed for a month and never wished for anything!

Small but interesting

By srk55 |

The main district is about 4 blocks long. It has a bunch of winery’s and small shops. Also a few small restaurants. You can see the whole thing in less than 2 hours unless you sit and drink a lot of wine or dwell a lot in the shops. It also just added a train depot to go to Fort Worth. In the heart of the main area is a visitors center that has some flyers and some small exhibits. I suggest going later in the day to try the wines at the various wineries.

Wonderful Shopping, Terrible Parking

By Enigma55 |

I love Grapevine's Historic District...so many quaint shops and wonderful restaurants. But I hate the parallel parking! All the parking right on Main Street is parallel and, for drivers like me who don't possess the parallel parking "know how gene," we're left to find parking in a lot and then have to walk back to Main Street. I use a walker, so this is a hassle! I will definitely return, but will arrive before the shops open so I can pull straight into one of the parallel spots.

An Enjoyable Way to Spend a Few Hours (and a lot of money :)

By AnneAdrift |

This revitalized, quaint town offers a wide variety of shopping and tasting rooms. I highly recommend The Palm Tree Boutique. The clothing is distinctive and reasonably priced and the staff was friendly and helpful. We ended up going back after lunch! Also, stop in A Hole in The Wall for some unique gift items. A fun few hours exploring the area!

Eclectic Shops

By Laurie D |

When I have to stay in the Dallas/Fort Worth area I always try to spend an afternoon here. The shops and restaurants are fun to poke around. Folks are friendly and the atmosphere is very enjoyable.

Great place to stroll.

By Evan H |

Great place to spend some time, whether, Couple or Family with young or older kids, or like us even taking our married with kids for a stroll down Main Street. Great decorations, variety of shops from bakery to gift to unique Texas to quality consignment and winery(with sampling) shops. Slow car traffic, with highly visible flashing crosswalks and parking on the street or lots of parking 1 block off the main drag. Big wine festival in September.

Yummy

By Tgraprkara |

Food was excellent! Atmosphere cozy and fun. Prices were great. Great surprise for a tourist event. Would definitely go back.

Quint But Wish It Had More Local Flavor

By Teamdawson1 |

Historic Grapevine is a quaint little town that is great for walking around and eating some great food, such as Esparza’s. See my review of Esparza’s for more info/details. The Grapevine Shuttle stops there and circulates back to Gaylord Texan for $5 a person.

I wish the local stores had things made locally instead of in China. Still it is a worthwhile destination to walk around a while.

Go because it’s worth the trip.

By Dewayne V |

Downtown Grapevine is a great place to visit. Many great restaurants on Main Street within walking distance. Wish I would of had more time.

Christmas Cheer for all!

By KKailua |

What a fun place to visit, especially during the holidays. Main Street is all decked out for Christmas with lots of lights and decorations. There are many photo ops for fun memories, from many the Peanuts Therapy booth, riding a sleigh, Santa, or sliding down a snowy hill. The props are spread out around Main Street as you visit the different shops, you can stop and take pictures along the way. Most shops close at 6 pm so get their earlier to shop the different small businesses. A few hours is all I needed to walk the entire Main Street, but if you are a serious shopper you will need more time. My friends did not get to every shop. You can lots of fun Texas memorabilia and of course, Christmas decorations. The shop owners were all friendly and welcoming. Texas hospitality at its best.

Reminds me of my home town

By Thelmaharper |

I spent an evening here just browsing the shops and had dinner here. The shops are all situated on one street. However most are pretty much the same. The shop owners are pleasant to chat with.

Wonderful place to take a relaxing stroll.

By Ed H |

We really enjoyed walking around and browsing in the various shops. But the best part was the gunfight in the clock tower. We didn't know anything about it. We saw everyone looking up in the sky, and thought......UFO's? Then the show started. It was great, the more so since it was completely unexpected. We will be back, probably around Christmas time.

Great Xmas decorations

By S476PEjamesg |

Drove through the other night on the way to dinner, and really enjoyed the lights. Lots of quaint little stores, pubs, restaurants, farmers market, trains, and wine tasting rooms!

Surprise

By StephenH240 |

First time to Grapevine and it it's now a destination! Between wineries, restaurants and shops walking safely between them was a treat. TX residents who have not been downtown Grapevine should drop in...pleasant surprise.

Magical district

By Sandra P |

This place remains as it was 60 years ago, this is a beautiful cowboy town with lots of Christmas lights and Texan flavor. Come and have a walk with your family and friends it is suitable for all ages.

Quaint Town to Combine walking and wine tasting

By OrlandoMouse |

Grapevine is home to at least 14 wine tasting rooms along the main street. Each offers a sample tasting of the wines they market. It is a very walkable town. In addition there are several quant restaurants along the street. There is also a rail station and a welcome center with an electric train set. It is a delightful place to spend a day, but be careful you don’t drink and drive. Take a UBER, cab, or even the train so if you taste more than you should , all will be safe.

Holiday spirit !

By MSLovell |

Just park on a side street and be prepared to stroll Main Street. Very festive, crowded, and fun. Be aware that the sidewalk area has several places with steps so I wouldn’t consider it very stroller or mobility challenged friendly.

Very quaint old town.

By ggof4 |

Historic downtown Grapevine is well preserved with some really great old sturctures. We went there to see the blacksmith and glass blowers at work. We went around 1pm on a Saturday and they were all out to lunch. Blacksmith shop was closed, and we did get to look around the glassblowing shop.....which had a delightful yound artist showing us around, but no one at work glassblowing....altho, she said they would return soon. The glass blowing shop has beautiful, stunning, pieces of art. Also, parking spots are hard to come by on a Saturday. Lots of neat shops, and places to eat. Call the artist shops, to make sure they are at work before you go.

How quaint!

By veeolette |

This is a cute little “Main Street.” Many shops, wineries, and restaurants. It is short enough to work your way up one side of the street and down the other in an afternoon.

A Must See at Christmas!

By nptp84 |

We were in the Dallas area at Christmas time this year and heard about the town of Grapevine. We decided to visit and were not disappointed. The historic Main Street was all decorated for Christmas. The city also offered free parking. All the shops and restaurants were open for dining and shopping.

Beautiful holiday lights

By TravelinGert |

We went out to eat at Big Fish and had a walk around some of the Main Street historic area. Everything was so beautiful with all the twinkling holiday lights and we were thrilled so many of the stores were open late. We loved tasting all the chocolates at Dr Sue's so much we brought home three different boxes of chocolates!

Don't miss this if in the area

By Barb S |

I went to the Olive Oil place to pick up a housewarming gift and while she was putting my purchases together in a basket, I had about 20 minutes to do some exploring. Cute shops, a wonderful country store and a nice bakery. I wish I had had more time to explore, but if I'm ever in the area again, I'll plan on spending more time poking around. Nice and clean.

Great Christmas light viewing

By Trevi36 |

Went to see the lights in this town! They are incredible but there are also thousands of other people there for the same thing so parking and getting out just to walk the street is difficult and driving through is bumper to bumper.

There is something for everyone in Historic Main Street Grapevine

By G6083BKlindae |

The quaint little shops all along Main Street and very interesting. No matter what your tastes are you can most likely find it on Main Street.

A Must See

By Oraynab J |

I love Grapevine’s historic district. It takes you back to your favorite book or childhood memory of old school comfort and warmth. I first ran into the district accident,y nearly four years ago, after I took the wrong street after leaving the Grapevine Mills Shopping Mall. There are nice boutiques and a farmer’s market Utah a great selection of goods you don’t come across at others. For example, I found a vendor that sold homemade beef jerseys of every flavor and size.

Fast forward four years and I agree to accept a last minute invitation from an old friend who selects a coffee shop in the area. And I loved the opportunity to pass through the district. It’s worth a trip, even last minute one.

A bit disappointed

By Janis I |

We came to see Grapevine after reading much hype about I️t. Unfortunately I️ came with two men and this kind of Christmas shopping is not their cup of tea. Girls go together without the men!

I️ wish we had gone at night.
I️t is not very impressive during the day, but I️ am sure I️t us lovely at night and very Christmasy.

Seemed to have lots of nice restaurants.

Fun shops and places to eat

By Bonnie D |

The Main Street is very cute and easy to walk around. It was August so it was hot so be prepared with extra water. There are all kinds of cute shops and nice restaurants to stop in for a beer, bite, or both

Texas Kitsch

By Richard_x5173 |

We went to dinner and a walk. Overdone Texas Kitsch. They are trying way to hard. The restaurants are generally overpriced. For goodness sake this is a suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth!

Grapevine lives up to its name - so many winery shops!

By Rick T |

Quaint old world feel to this lovely little oasis of a town.
However, during the week everything shuts really early so don't expect to be able to eat out late

Awesome Christmas Atmosphere!

By TexasBuffettFan |

This place is awesome for Christmas! All of the storefronts were decorated and lots of activities for children. Very impressive!

Not just some small town

By Americansportswriter |

It's Main Street from a generation or two ago with one-story brick buildings, but unlike so many you'll see it's not forgotten. Lot of bars and restaurants, lively evening scene. Nice to see one that flourishes.

Super cute place to visit

By DeniseL |

Lots of cute shops and things to do. We strolled both sides of the street and ended up with lots of impulse, fun purchases. Worth spending a few hours shopping and dining.

Great weekender spot

By Justine B |

Downtown Grapevine is a great time all year round. I love the Talking Animals bookshop and all the wineries and little gift shops along Main St.

Lots of walking

By steve w |

Great historic downtown had lots of shops to visit we were worn smooth out after walking both sides of the street but it was fun and something for everyone!! But need your best walking shoes is my tip!!

Loved this area! We will be back!

By mln68 |

We stopped in this Main Street district for brunch as we were leaving the Gaylord Texan. Wound up wandering past and thru a number of the shops before and after eating. Since we were there on a Sunday, most were closed. However, window displays and the general feel of the area were enticing. We will be back!

Great place to visit this time of year!

By calico9999 |

Lots of cute little shops, good food, wine tasting spots, unique buildings, great Christmas atmosphere and friendly folks.

Great surprise

By Dcleblanc |

We really enjoyed all of the cute little shops and the overall atmosphere. We didn’t know what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised at how much there was to see.

Fun town to visit at Christmas

By Adam P |

My wife and I visited Grapevine the weekend before Christmas for a mini-honeymoon, and I am glad that we did. We spent 2 days in town and we got to accomplish most of what we set out to do. I think that we could have spent another day and still enjoyed ourselves. However, as with most historic towns like Grapevine, the Main Street District is only several blocks long and is lined with gift shops and restaurants/bars.

We really loved the feel of the town and the Christmas decor. One of my favorite things to see was the clock tower that puts on an animatronic show at noon. That is pretty cool.

We visited several wineries and got to try some very nice wines.

We also ate at the Texas Star Dinner Theater, which is a worthwhile place to visit. You need to reserve your table ahead of time, but I would recommend this restaurant/theater.

The Christmas lights were beautiful at night, and the town really does a good job with the decor around town.

We will definitely visit Grapevine again.

Great Festival year after year!!

By mbethy214 |

The theme this year was Back to the 80's! We had great food, enjoyed the amazing vendors, the 80's video arcade and loved the Back to the Future movies showing at the historic Palace Theater. They even had a DeLorean Time Machine on display from the movie there. Always a great experience.

Martin Fry and ABC were amazing last night at Main Street Festival stage! We had a blast. We have always wanted to see him. He put on an incredible show.

Thank you to Visit Grapevine and to Jeff, the Music Supervisor for Main Street Festival, for organizing! Please keep the 80's bands coming year after year. My friends and I love it! Admission was only $7.00... a bargain since this included the concerts. See you next year!

Look forward to going back!

By Donna H |

We happened upon this during a trip to Great Wolf Lodge when we needed a break from the waterpark. It was a pleasant surprise. We watched glass blowing, learned about blacksmith. The children stamped a brass luggage tag with their initials at the blacksmith. We visited the train station and track attendants house where we learned about Morse Code. We watched the High Noon "shoot out" at the top of the clock tower after visiting the museum. We are planning a return visit for an adult "wine" trip!

Great Christmas place

By seemyeyes |

We stumbled into Grapevine Texas what a wonderful place. All of the Christmas stuff going on. People families wow. Plus plenty shopping and wine tasting. I could plan a Christmas trip there next year.

Definitely a Christmas Town

By Bruiser35 |

Enjoyed walking Main Street. City beautifully decorated in public areas and most of the shops as well. Made fo a nice day trip .

Lots to see and eat

By guzvalex |

This is a busy street any time of the year. There are several new little shops where you can buy (surprisingly) affordable souvenirs, have a nice cup of coffee, a nice lunch or a glass of wine. Even if you are not looking to buy anything you are likely to find something that will change your mind

Captures Christmas Spirit

By Barbara S |

What a picturesque Christmas Town. Every storefront was decorated. Lights were everywhere and it just gave you that magical Christmas feeling. We were there Christmas night and even though nothing was open the street was full of people of all ages. Well worth the trip.

I really love this town!

By Sunny B Photos |

Cute boutiques ... neat stores ... and more wine tasting than you could ever do in a single day! Grapevine is a great place to spend a lazy day walking up and down the main drag, popping into shops, and tasting local culture! 💕

Walkable area of interesting shops and restaurants, would recommend a stop if you’re traveling through the Dallas area.

By newyorknick |

First time there despite living just a few hours away. Great selection, variety of shops and restaurants, easily walkable, go in the fall when temperatures are more tolerable though.

Neat Afternoon Stroll

By Mom2Twincesses |

We stumbled upon this by chance, as it’s not far from GWL. We loved our lunch and afternoon stroll/shopping spree!

Great place to see a historic part of Dallas

By Joevu |

Felt like I walked onto a western movie set, and the town was big. Lots of activities for people of all ages, lots of shops, and eateries.

Hot has hell the day I was there, there are a few shopping arcades to allow you to escape from the heat of the day. Was worth the trip from Downtown Dallas.

Need half to a full day to check out this place, depending on how tolerant you are to heat.

historic downtone

By lauramac13 |

Fun area to walk around with a variety of shops, souvienirs and restaurants. Several wineries had shops, a great little market downtown too for fresh produce and assorted goodies.
We were laterr in the evening so a lot of shops had closed.

By vahnab |

There is so much to do in this downtown area. Just walk the Main Street and see shop after small shop very specialty stores. Wineries and wine room. Cigar bars and some very good eating establishments. From hometown to bar and grills to fine dining. Fun for all

Hometown Feel in the middle of the DFW Metroplex

By Tutu1234 |

Grapevine's downtown area is a mix of great restaurants, wineries and tasting rooms, eclectic shops, a weekend farmer's market and bazaar...all mixed with down home friendliness and warmth. Spend a day visiting Main St...taking time from shopping to learn how a blacksmit shop works...then walk a block and have a great burger! Shop some more and stop in to have a taste of some really great local wines...comfortable enough to spend some time out of the Texas heat. All in all, a day of fun while picking up some really great gifts for those who missed it! Highly recommend!

Great area

By lindafb48 |

Many stores here. All types. Great looking, well kept up area. Very Historic. Must see place. We really enjoyed our time here. Many different Restaurants.

Fun town to visit at Christmas!

By Kathy B |

We visited Grapevine two days after Christmas. The quaint town has decorations and holiday displays all along Main Street. We went during the day to check out the shops, and returned in the evening for dinner and to see the lights. We ate lunch at the Cotton Patch Cafe and dinner at Tolberts. Both were good, and I would recommend either one. Stop by the visitor center too. And, next to the visitor center there is a museum that has historical buildings that you can walk through to learn some history of the town...the best part, it’s FREE! We were hoping the light rail to Ft. Worth would be ready, but it was still being tested. Grapevine is definitely a place to go for a few days, especially during the holidays.

Grapevine or Bust!

By KristineChan |

If you ever find yourself in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with nothing to do, please take some time to visit Historic Downtown Grapevine. There are a ton of boutiques and restaurants to choose from during an afternoon in town. In the evening you can have a romantic dinner, visit any number of wineries or wine tasting bars, listen to live music in many of the restaurants or just take a leisurely stroll up and down Main Street. They have a Farmer’s Market on Friday and Saturday near the gazebo, an old movie theater, galleries, and a train ride that will take you to The Stockyards in Ft Worth. This town is so charming every day but when Christmas rolls around the town charm explodes! You can’t help but be happy visiting Historic Downtown Grapevine on any given day...

Great place for a walk and dinner

By Stefan B |

This is a great place for a walk. Enjoy the unique stores and pick one of the many restaurants for dinner.

Great place to shop!

By Carrie Reneau Spivey |

With SO many different shops, the selections are endless. I personally shop this area on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to support local & small business. There is something for everyone. Great restaurants too with wonderful patios. It's a great day trip with the girlfriends and end the day with a glass of wine at one of the great winery's. Easy to get to by train or car.

Saturday morning walk

By linleydew |

Just walking around downtown was great. We were walking around very early in the morning so most shops were closed. We will definitely be back next year to walk around when more shops are open. A very nice atmosphere!

Beautiful Christmas Lights!

By BangkokSachse |

After visiting Gaylord Texan, we went to the Christmas lights at Grapevine Downtown near the Grapevine City Hall at 8:30 am on Wednesday. The lights were beautiful. The area was nice and clean. We spent about one hours there.

Great small town with wineries and shops. During Christmas everything is decorated and the courtyard is set up for picture taking.

Quaint and fun

By Yodatravel |

Unique shops, food and drink spots. All of that along with a bit of history and trains. A great afternoon.

Perfect Day Trip

By Erika S |

I really loved this main st. There are lots of interesting shops, tons of eateries and enough wine tasting places to be able to get merry from walking one end of the street to the other. It was very busy on the Saturday we went but with the sun shining it was lovely. I would recommend this for an afternoon’s relaxation.

A great place to shop and dine

By travelvaluetours |

I live about 25 miles from Grapevine and I try to go here every couple of months. Shopping is fun and there are quite a few eating places. I used to take groups here at Christmas because the gazebo area was beautiful with the synchronized music /tree and other decorations, but since that has stopped, it just isn't the same

quaint downtown district.

By NEofAZ |

nice shopping area if not kind of overpriced but still a nice place to "window-shop, etc... numerous eateries close by.

Hot July Saturday on Main Street

By 1330briant |

The town did a wonderful job decorating and so many little shops and restaurants in the area. Be sure to look up Vetro glass blowing and the ice sculpture at the Gaylord Texan ( we go every year to this, see groupon).

It's a good time

By MiltonSiegele |

While The FW Stockyards may be more known
Grapevine Main Street is much better

There are better, more diverse shops
Three are equally good restaurants
There is live music
There is the Tarantula Line train

But no cows!

It's more like hometown than tourist town

Texas Star Dinner Theater

A group of 35 of us chose the Texas Star Dinner Theater for our annual Night to Remember during our Discovery Toys Convention. It was SO MUCH FUN! Lots of belly laughter during the performance, a Texas-style whodunit! The food was great, too!

The Best Christmas Shopping

By Linda Dombkowski |

We visited Grapevine with family on December 24. The streets were crowded with festive visitors, but it was still a great experience. The town was all decked out for Christmas. There were so many things to do. Our grandson loved the glass blowing. There was a long line of folks for the Polar Express Train, there were live reindeer, there was a carousel and so many other things to do. We only spent about 2 hours in the area, but we could have spent days looking at and participating in events. Gaylord "Ice" was a wonderful experience, COLD, but exceptional.

Loved the Christmas lights

By ThompsonDM |

We absolutely loved walking this street with all the Christmas lights. There were many places set up specifically for family photos. It was very fun.

Fun to Walk Around

By Christopher H |

I moved to Grapevine from Chicago - which is a bit of a culture shock. But this area of Grapevine reminds me of the old neighborhoods in the city. There are lots of little shops and restaurants where you can support local business people. There are also multiple wineries for the adults. It's a great mix of history and local culture. There are always little events going on in the gazebo area on the weekends and you definitely don't want to skip the Farmer's Market. This area is especially nice during the holiday season, though it can get quite crowded.

Very nice

By AndreaL1605 |

Took a walk through here while staying at a nearby hotel. Lots of great quaint little shops and some great restaurants and winerys.

A Must See and Do

By Wano16 |

Step back in history a few decades. Lots of stores and restaurants. If you can make it around Christmas the whole street is lit up. Very beautiful. This is like the old days with small family owned shops. Make a day of it. Highly recommended.

Really nice trip for the say

By Scott S |

We went down here for the day while staying locally. There were fund activities to do with the kids and nice shops and restaurants as well.

Very interesting

By Ordabek D |

Always enjoy walking on Main Street, it has spirit of cute old west town, popular for Grapevine Wine Fest, Has gallery shop, old cabin of texan house, pretty cool.

Cute shops and eateries

By Melissa G |

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon here when our flies was canceled and we needed to spend a night in dallas. We took a shuttle for only $5 each and enjoyed looking at shops and sampling some food. We don't drink, but there were lots of breweries and wineries that looked like fun.

Shops and Wineries

By Rebby2k |

It’s a pretty decent historic strip lined with restaurants, shops, wineries, and a few historic sites woven in. We had a couple good meals and enjoyed some wine during our time there. It’s nice for a calm stroll on a cool evening. There is a small park area with a restored log cabin and a memorial fountain. The area has a charm about it but lacks in true historic significance. Worth a visit.

Excellent for kids and adults

By Ashley |

We love coming from out of state 2 to 4 times per year to our regular haunts here in historic downtown Grapevine. I prefer off season like early March or early October because crowds can get heavy during big community event dates. The wineries are family friendly, some even do juice tastings for kids. And we love the variety of shopping and restaurants for everyone. Live music everywhere in the evenings! Make this area a stop when you're passing through.

Killing time before the airport

By hannahhakes |

Went tonkill time, glad we did! What a cute stop, and nice little walk about. Lits of little gift shops, and great places to eats as well as some nest historical things! Awesome for any age, easy walk to see it all. There is something for everyone

Taste of Art Downtown Grapevine Texas

By JuliaAnnRoss |

Grapevine Main Street Festivals offer the community many events throughout the year - We especially appreciate the art events. Several art Gallery Owners come together with restaurants for food and wine tasting -art walk events. We met the artists and watched glass blowers - visited galleries like Giddens Art Gallery with a wine tasting room next to the art gallery.

Real feel of Texas

By Travellover |

Enjoyed the visit as Grapevine has a special Texas vibe.
Cowboys hats, boots and gun decoration
The street looks like in the movie.
There are a number of restaurants and shops along the way.
Worth a visit

A Day Out

By Rhonda M |

If you like fun shops, authentic local food mixed in with a little history, visit downtown Grapevine Texas. Take the Unlimited $5 all-day shuttle bus and get off next to the historic log cabin for a history lesson and then enjoy a warm afternoon walking up and down both sides of the street visiting the quaunt stores and chatting with the small business owners! Very friendly and helpful! I especially liked The Spice and Tea Emporium! Lunch at The Cotton Patch and grab a milk shake afterwards at Doughlicious next door! Grapevine is a fun little getaway where you can spend a couple of hours or even a whole day! Oh, for sure don't miss the Farmer Market, Kilwins and Judy's Pies! All of these businesses just made my visit a true delight!

Such a lovely little Texas town

By JaneBennet |

Grapevine was my favorite stop on our Texas trip. After many disappoints on our Texas trip, Grapevine was a bright spot. I absolutely could have gotten lost in all the cute shops and restaurants. Wish I could have spent more time there, but highly recommend.

Quaint Yet New

By cka1988 |

Downtown Grapevine is a mix of old and new. It has some unique shops - not only on Main Street, but also on the side streets running into Main Street. I like to shop there because you can find one of a kind items that you don't see in the big stores. There's everything from cigars, clothing, antiques, jewelry, etc. to glass blowing. There are also several very good cafes and restraurants. I have been many times and plan to continue visiting.

A Definate MUST

By carmenganton |

Historic Main Street in Grapevine is a MUST SEE if visiting. There are lots of little gift shops and some great restaurants that have that great Texas feel from Texas BBQ & comfort food to the many Craft Beers that are brewed in Texas. You are always welcomed when you go into the stores. Everyone is so friendly ... we alwasy make a point to visit Main Street when we stay in Grapevine.

Great shops

By Sammi S |

This area of Grapevine is so historic and quaint. I really like to walk up and down the streets to see all the little shops. It is especially nice during the holidays as they really decorate this whole area.

Special at night

By Simon D |

I have been here during the day several times but at night it is very special. Great atmosphere and lots of nice places to eat and drink.

Seriously Christmas

By NEVenturer |

It was pleasant to visit here, but would have probably been more fun for a family with children. They do take this claim seriously!

The decorations were everywhere and fairly well done. There are fun things for kids everywhere.

The shopping wasn’t that unique (sorry). We did have a good meal at a great price.

We came on the shuttle from the Gaylord at $5 apiece. Even with eating, we would have been ready far sooner than an hour later.

Again - I think we just weren’t the key audience!

Fantastic Boutiques!

By Jill L |

You can find interesting cute quaint things for anybody - wonderful helpful shop owners/employees - so nice and clean!

Quaint Historic Downtown Area

By carolr583 |

We took the Grapevine Shuttle from our hotel to downtown. We ate a great breakfast brunch, shopped around town then returned on our shuttle. No driving necessary. Had a great Mother's Day!

Best day we have had in TX so far

By postnote |

It is great to be able to step back in history, and lets face it there isn’t much in Dallas, but this area has been preserved by forward thinking town council.

A True Gem!

By Sandra N |

Main Street has just about everything packed into just a few city blocks, from shopping to wineries, a theater, the farmers market, countless boutiques, a couple of historical sites, sculptures, restaurants—-and the list goes on. You can spend a few hours or a full day enjoying and taking it all in. Convenient and plentiful parking. Seasonal decorations. You will NOT be disappointed when you stop by!

Great history and fun shopping

By Suzanne D |

This is mostly shopping and restaurants with some history thrown in. All the buildings are designated historic and have plaques indicating what they were. The blacksmith and train depot were closed while we were there, but they would he great stops if they were open. The shops and restaurants are fantastic and everyone we met was very friendly.

Afternoon stroll and dinner

By krmesserdfw |

Great small town experience with local farmers market, vine tasting and dinning. Small stores to stroll and great food selection.

Grapevine trip

By Rebecca S |

Nice place to visit. Enjoyed the shoot out on the clock tower. Visitors center has a nice model train set.

Nice Little Historic Main Street

By Mark G |

The Grapevine Historic Main Street District is a gem, with that perfect mix of history, charming, yet new and hip all at the same time. Blocks of shopping with a great mix of offerrings,7 wineries, restaurants, a great visitors center, farmers market and even a historic jail. The only thing missing is a historic hotel in the middle of this district.

A quick walk

By Heather S |

I liked downtown Grapevine. It has an array of small shops, restaurants and services. It’s a nice way to spend a couple of hours walking through the downtown area.

One piece of advice: if you are set of visiting a particular store, call in advance to make sure they are open. Many stores were closed contradicting their posted hours.

A great place to visit

By AlanT113 |

We have strolled Main Street a few times on our recent visit, the stores, Cafes and special interest shops are definitely worth a visit.

Always a fun place to spent a day

By ilovecalculustoo |

When we are looking for something to do on the weekend and have time to make the drive across town, we head to the Grapevine Historic District. Between the fun, eclectic shopping and the wine tasting and restaurants, there is plenty to do to occupy us and enjoy the day. Especially fun to do at Christmas with all the lights and decorations.

Super cute

By Linz0718 |

Great little spot and lots of shops and good food.
We came in twice from the Gaylord’s for dinner and loved walking around before and after dinner

Small town charm in the city

By nettyboo13 |

Went shopping here and loved it. They had a farmers market at the gazebo that was fantastic. I picked up some fresh strawberries, homemade apple butter and some homemade soap. The little shops were quaint and cute. I highly recommend visiting.

Historic Buildings and Great Shopping!

By DJ-Doctor-D |

What a cool city! We loved every part of it. The old buildings, the unique shops, and multiple wineries can keep a person busy for days!

My out of town guest LOVED the experience!

By charriso1 |

My girlfriend and I walked up and down Main Street and stopped at three wineries that were all different and all had their own charm. We love this city and will be back for more memories!!!

Not a morning vevue

By jbedfordd |

Walked downtown for the farmers market at 8:00am Saturday. Other than vendors, we were practically the only ones there. Corn on the cob being sold was a week old so we went elsewhere.
People were indeed friendly but we were the only ones around.
It appears to be an evening place to be as there was a bunch of wine bars but only one place to get coffee and it wasn’t very good.
Don’t bother going in the morning but it might be worth checking it out in the evening.

The new addition onto Main Street Bakery, called Chez Fabian is awesome

By 999LauraP582 |

Main Street bakery in Grapevine totally renovated their premises, adding a separate restaurant called Chez Fabian. This adjoins the Main Street bakery, but has wait staff, separate menus, etc.
Excellent choices on the menu, full bar offerings, great freshly prepared foods!
It was always a favorite place for lunch, now it is larger with more options, we will return, just not now at the Holiday season!
The bakery still has the same large selection of desserts to purchase!

CHARMING HISTORIC GRAPEVINE

By RENA C |

The architecture, the variety of places to explore, the commuter rail--all wonderful.
We were so impressed with Harvest Hall and only wished we had days to explore.

There’s nothing like it at Christmastime

By The L |

We live in Grapevine and didn’t fully appreciate how awesome it is at Christmas until we moved here. I hesitate to write this because it may get too crowded. One drawback is that too many shops close early.

A slice of Americana

By County-Hunter |

Growing up in a small rural town in the 60's, downtown Grapevine reminded me of my childhood with small merchants lining the Main Street. This could be a movie set for any period piece. It was fun to walk around and shop.

Fun times!

By pdmc2004 |

Love looking in all the boutique type stores in Grapevine. Friendly people, great restaurants. A fun place to spend a day.

Nice street

By HFLenz |

It’s a nice street, with a decent lineup of bars and restaurants.
Some local wineries are also represented for those who like wine tasting.
All and all, worth a walk.

A fun way to spend the afternoon

By SallyAnn W |

So many cool places to check out, one day will not be enough. From the winery tasting rooms, specialty stores featuring chilies, honey, and chocolate and all manner of antiques; this is NOT the same places you see in every mall. So much fun!

Pro tip: easy to take an Uber here and enjoy the wine tastings! Also Ferraris Italian Villa is nearby and great for dinner/

Neat downtown!

By Leslie D |

Great downtown! It would be awesome if all the business synced their business hours together but it’s a free country. Some are closed Mondays and some open 930/10/1030/11 etc.

A wonderful town to visit especially during the holidays...

By Nomadic_Thoughts |

I’ve bee going around Texas for a fe months now and guess what... historic Grapevine is above the rest so far. Dozens of non chain stores and restaurants is a very welcome sight. Strolling down the blocks and even going around the neighborhood makes it feel like a small town situated in the Dallas concrete jungle. There should be more towns like this...places to get away to!

Very Hallmarkian

By Texmarc |

Want to go somewhere there is a Hallmark like atmosphere? This is the place. A small downtown with a feeling of being in the romantic past, with modern shopping and entertainment. It feels completely safe walking after dark and the people are friendly. If you want a really(!) Hallmark type experience go there at Christmas. We did and it was great and memorable.

Area changing

By dynaman |

This is an ever changing old main street Texas, but still a great place to visit. Lots of nice shops, bars, places to eat, and live music most nights. Well worth visiting. Beats the Gaylord hands down. !! Free bus route between both.

Christmas Time adventure

By Carol W |

Seeing downtown Grapevine at anytime is a must see and experience. During the holidays it is decorated and fun adventure.

With the new vintage train you get the experience people had when traveling back in the days when trains were the main transportation. Our little ones loved it alot

I love this small town

By Rebecca B |

After arriving in Fort Worth we headed for Grapevine Texas and was not disappointed. This little town has so many little stores, boutiques and restaurants. The shops are packed with so many different things that I don't think you have a problem finding something really cool to take home or to give as a gift. The stores mostly had prices like you'd expect but there were a couple who seemed to be pricey. My husband has said numerous times that he really enjoyed walking around in downtown. We even went back the next day so this shows we really liked it. There's something for everyone here, I promise.

Great tiwn

By Bridgetpianos |

Visited at Xmas and at night it looked like a fantasy land so
beautiful and during the day it was a great enjoyable day. We had lunch at Jakes and shopped and loved the great stores.

Fun Afternoon

By bhobbitt |

We enjoyed strolling along the main street admiring the beauty of the old buildings and stepping into the shops along the way. The Grapevine Winery was a fun stop, wonderful staff, "Mike" was able to give quite a bit of history about Grapevine and the wine tasting was delightful. We ended up purchasing a few bottles and had them shipped. While you are there, ask to try the Rio Red and the Boot-Scootin' both are a sweet red and went well with the mixed snack tray of fruit, meat, and cheeses.

Historic Texas

By Bruce R |

This area is a must during Christmas - nice shops and a great Christmas tree lighting. In addition, it is the center of a train ride from Grapevine to the Ft. worth Stockyards

O LITTLE TOWN OF SHOPS

By philmullinssouthlake |

Downtown Grapevine has become the place to go to for fun unique shops of all kinds. Walk up and down the sidewalks on both sides of this old western town for lots of neat things plus restaurants galore. Park your car. Everything is within walking distance including the Tarantula Train daily runs to the Ft Worth Stock Yards and Thomas The Train for kids. Its ALL here. Beautiful downtown christmas lighting. You will not be disappointed I promise you.

Beautiful Town with a lot of History

By Sergio O |

We went there because we saw they had a nice downtown and a beautiful botanical garden. It was worth it! A big Main Street full of pretty and some funny stores with products worth buying to try or as a gift for friends. Its a one day worth walking family trip.

Unique shops, eateries and train rides

By Thedaw39 |

Unique variety of shops and cafes. Easy walking and lots of places to sit and rest. Lots of history and train rides. The recent week end I was there they were having a Thomas the train event.
We also have done a train ride to the FT Worth stockyards from there in the past. Very entertaining.

Come On Down TonOut Great Downtown

By Barbara M |

I love bringing out of town guests to downtown Grapevine. There are enough shops and places to eat to suit everyone. It is always the first place we stop. When you come for a visit, please check out the Farmers Market. They offer samples and are always ready to answer any questions on their products. Love the festivals and the small town feel. Great place to find cute gifts! I never tire of walking around and checking out all the shops!

Old Town Grapevine

By Duhhg |

Beautiful old town Main Street with raised sidewalks and great variety of shops, restaurants, bars, wine tasting and cafes. Also some nice outdoor parks and lots of well-marked historical sites. And a working train station and farmers market to boot! You can spend a morning, afternoon, or come for breakfast and stay right through for dinner with lots to do and see in the meantime! Check out the glass blowing factory, the old windmill and the flying unicorn atop the Chamber of Commerce turret! They’ve done a wonderful job here to make this special historical town fun and welcoming for all ages!

By Elyse P |

The shops are super cute, Green space for kids to run around for a bit and plenty of places to eat and relax.

Grapefest

By David R |

This years Grapefest was one of the best ever. The assortment of vendors was tremendous. The food had excellent choices and the music this year was very good. Combine this with an excellent shopping and restaurant area. Just a great place to visit.

A nice surprise

By mr_larry_smith |

Grapevine’s historic downtown was a nice surprise. It has been lovingly restored and is well worth a stroll to look around if that is all that time allows.

Quaint downtown

By Bruna F |

There were quite a few shops where we found unique items! We found several eateries that offered ambiance and happy hour menus! We easily could have strolled around for hours.

A fun and quiet Texas town

By robertaS299PA |

I enjoyed walking the streets and learning some of the history of Grapevine. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from, and I wish I had more time downtown on my trip.

Great Grapevine!

By Cris T |

What a great area! You can easily spend an entire day ( and really it takes two full days to see everything) here. Great eats, shopping, sites .... it has it all. Love the tea shop, the general store, the antique stores, several cute clothing stores, wonderful gift shops, fantastic chili at Tolberts, and winery stores galore!!!! All adds up for a great day or two in great Grapevine!

Memorable last evening!

By Yorkshire_fern |

Had a one night stopover on our way home and had a great night out in Grapevine. Great selection of shops, bars and restaurants. People were really friendly and we felt really safe walking about the town. There was a great atmosphere with music playing in bars and it was lovely to see the town lit up. A thoroughly memorable evening and we hope to visit again :-)

Never knew about this ppace

By Sarmad K |

Very nice area and I never knew about this. We came here for dinner at one of the restaurants and was shocked how good it’s to walk around.

I will come back here again.

Lots To See in the Downtown Area

By Deborah E |

My son and I strolled around downtown to kill a few hours while his dad was at a conference. It was a great afternoon of checking out the museums, exploring the visitor center, eating pie, and shopping for souveniers. All the people/workers we encountered were fantastic cheerleaders for their town. We didn't have time to see everything we wanted, and will definitely come back again when we are in the area.

Walking Tour

By DAVID |

This was a great treat. Our family loves to experience the renovation of older towntown areas. The inside shops were a hidden treat. Such interesting art collections.

My favorite place

By Shanna K |

I've lived in Grapevine for 15 years. I LOVE living here in such a beautiful historic town. My husband and I regularly just walk through town because it's so quaint. I've gone to many small towns and to walk their town squares or main streets, but Grapevine has so much more fun things to see and do. Don't miss out coming during Christmas. We are the Christmas Capital of Texas!

Lunch and walk

By Stuart L |

Growing so fast! Train service is now available takes you from downtown write to downtown Main Street Grapevine! Also goes to the airport. Had lunch at weinberger's which is always amazing and walked Main Street.

Cute, fun town for all ages

By Sue C |

When we first arrived in town, my sister-in-law, who lives there, gave us the low down. Thomas the Train comes once or twice a year. Little ones love it! A gunfight occurs 2-3 times a day high up on the clock tower. Life-size gun fighters come out and the gunfight ensues. If the winds are too high or the weather too rainy, they will not come out. It is very cute! There are many quaint shops and restaurants and a few wineries. There is a very old, preserved log cabin, as well as a very small jail that we used for a photo op. Their week long wine festival is the largest in the southwest. Many people rave about downtown at Christmas time, too. This is a place for all ages!

Great way to spend the afternoon

By Craigh-KRPH |

We spent about 4 hours eating, shopping, sightseeing and walking. The area is decorated beautifully for Christmas, and there was plenty to see and do.

Our final destination was the Gaylord, but I think your time and money would be better spent just hanging out / staying near Main Street.

Good place to stroll and shop

By happytraveler4209 |

I take mini vacations often. I’ll take a day, find a nearby old town and “window” shop. Grapevine Texas is one of the places I go. Yesterday, I spent about 6 hours walking the main strip in old, historic Grapevine. It was decked out for St Patrick’s Day. I found a street gender with jerky. The farmers market offered unique kiwi berries and local honey. I bought a wonderful spiced tea soap and lotion at Grace. An outfit for Bass Hall was found in a boutique. I was disappointed that the store that had metal yard work was closed. I had a wonderful time here, enjoyed the rain, the people, the shops and the experience. I’ll be back.

Refreshed Historic District

By sandralbs1993 |

Occasionally I like to be a tourist in the city I grew up - I'll spend time walking and shopping my way from the south end to the north end of Main Street. During the '80's many stores along Main closed and were shuttered several plus years, but during the '90's we saw a resurgence of remodeling and the return of retail. Now Main Street offers a variety of retail establishments along with a variety of restaurants and wine bars. Couldn't be happier to visit my hometown to spend a day or evening enjoying the features of our historic Main Street.

Loved It

By Shelly C |

My daughter and I spent the day here and had a great time. Lots of boutique shops, non-chain restaurants and wineries. We had a perfect afternoon enjoying the sunshine and shops!

Beautiful downtown

By Robert R |

Cool downtown that claims to be Christmas capitol of Texas. Not sure about that, but it is truly a special place and bueatifully decorated.

wonderful restoration of historical area

By John H |

Make the trip to the Historic District several times/year in conjunction with attending conventions in nearby Irving. many fun shops and places to eat.

Neat town with great atmosphere

By Leann S |

There is something for everyone here and the Christmas season is the best! Great small town appeal. If you want to book Polar Express train tickets, better do it in the summer!

Grapevine is great!

By Gail M |

Such a fun place to wander around in. The city has many events going on, but even on a normal day it is fun. Everything has retained the look of years ago, but now are shops and restaurants. The shops all carry a wide variety of things and restaurants are good plus there are a number of wineries in Grapevine. All of which are a "must try!" I have been there often and will contiinue to do so!

Lots of small shops with a small town atmosphere

By adoptadoggie |

Great shopping and restaurants. Small town feel in the big city. Lots of special events and a short distance from DFW airport.

Cute downtown

By Vickie W |

This is a very cute downtown area! I was with a one year old and a stroller and for the most part the sidewalks were pretty accessible. There was one point where I couldn’t walk down the sidewalk and had to cross the street but for the most part it was good. Since we were here in early January, downtown was still decorated for Christmas so it was very pretty at night! Make sure to stop in the visitors center so you can get an idea of how everything is laid out.

Something for everyone.

By MikeM |

A great place to spend the afternoon or evening, whether strolling down Main St. for people watching, enjoying once of the many restaurants and wine bars, or enjoying one of the many festivals (Grapefest is my favorite).

Lots of shops and dining

By HobNobbin |

A fun place to spend the day. A good variety of unique shops and places to eat, with something for everyone. Heavy on women's apparel, wine tastings and restaurants. Light on crafts and coffee shops. Glass-blowing and a blacksmith shop for the men. There is a good sized farmers market as well. Most shops do not open until 11:00AM, and have various closing times - a lot were 6:00PM. Different ones are closed on different days, so check seasonal schedules. A very nice downtown Visitors Information Center.

Beautiful at Christmas time

By Pamela B |

We were told this place was like Santa threw up at Christmas because it was so decked out - well, it was and it was awesome! They have Whoville! The lights are wonderful, the music piped in around the street is wonderful and it was just a great place to visit this time of year.

Absolutely Beautiful

By Charles T |

It is great to have a place less than two hundred miles from home to go to at Christmas that really puts you in the spirit. To me, this town is as quaint and as beautiful as any town we've ever seen and being retired military, we have seen towns all over the USA.

Worth the visit

By ptddsdo |

Variety of places to eat and good food. Several things to see and easily walkable for all ages. Friendly people, clean, and safe.

1st TX trip

By JacqueMike |

I got to spend a very limited amount of time here. But i can not wait to go again. What an absolutely adorable lil down. Its the whole feel of down home, Main street. Mom and pop store, restaurants,Feel good type of place. Oh and since it is Grapevine. Its slap full of wineries. So also specialtt stores for the wine enthusiast.

Great place to visit. Nice wineries!

By CURTIS H |

Main street has a lot of quaint restaurants and wineries. It is a nice place to visit for the weekend.

It's Main Street is still fun... it's just not the "old" Main Street.

By Tom Grapevine |

Even though it used to have a more "homey" feel to it, it's still not bad. The quaintness started subsiding when Elliott's Hardware on North Main moved out and the monstrosity known as Bank of the West moved in. Then came the new City Hall, which is actually quite nice. However, on the South end of "downtown" stands another humongous building for the Grapevine Convention & Visitor's Bureau. Seems like they can't put up anything other than "supersized" and modern in downtown.
Now, we've got the new and improved (??) "Grapevine Station" which will block the view of the "Grapevine Vintage Railroad" station with this humongous parking garage for... commuters? Guess you might be able to get a view of the "Vintage Railroad Station" from the Northern side of the new born Grapevine Station parking garage's six or seven floors! Grapevine has BLOWN UP in size, so the downtown "quaint" Grapevine is no different. Green fields and trees beware!

Always wanted to visit this city

By hannes1941 |

We walked all main street and visit all four small but very nice museums. We enjoyed our lunch at Big Fish and had a wonderful day. We have to come back in the summer and for Christmas.

Good food and shops.

By phll69 |

Lots of stores to shop from. Lots of good food. Lots of fun. Family or couples. Meeting up with friends. There something for everyone.

Grapevine TX - Keeping Date Night FUN!

By JTLC Associates |

Safe, inviting, always changing (in a GREAT way). Every time we are privileged to have family, friends visiting us, we immediately invite them to downtown Grapevine, TX. Great place to get away, without getting away (Smile).

Great place to walk around for a few hours!

By LouisianaChardonnay |

Surprised by the delectable wine tasting at a locally produced winery right on the main street followed by a relaxing dinner, live music and great weather. Found some delicious granola, bbq sauce and homemade dog treats at a farmers market!

Grapevine Main St. at Christmas is Magical

By Dérive |

My husband and I went to Grapevine to pick up some wine (at Messina Hoff) for a company Christmas party and it happened to coincide with the day of the Christmas parade. WOW! It was early afternoon and the streets were already packed with people. There is so much to do and see: restaurants, wineries, boutiques, galleries! Very family and pet friendly - we spotted several places had water bowls on the sidewalks for dogs. Can't wait to go back!

History and Mystery Tour of Lewisville

By Kim P |

Fantastic fun adventure filled with spooky stories and historical tales of beautiful Lewisville town. Heidi was charismatic and fascinating with a great passion for keeping the town’s history alive. Our family and friends from Scotland had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this experience!

Lots Of Good Shopping and Dining

By Anthony G |

The Grapevine Historic Main Street District is a great place to stroll on weekend and enjoy browsing boutiques and shops. April - October there is an outdoor farmers market on Fridays and Saturdays where you can find fresh produce, tamales, salsas, sweets and more. The area on south Main Street around the train depot is full of specialty shops, memorabilia and there is even a blacksmith shop.

Main Street is also a great place for food and drink. There are several good restaurants as well as wineries and breweries. Check out Farina's, Umbra and Messina Hof for wine and dine. For beer, check out the Tap Inn & Grill and Grapevine Craft Brewery (off south Main Street and Dallas Rd at Jean Street.

Very clean cute downtown

By jennb1328 |

We stopped to let our son see the trains going by and decided to stop by a few stores. The information center had a train display that our son loved.

Cutest downtown in the area!

By CassidyCornell |

Almost every weekend there is something going on at Grapevine main street. It is a common location for locals and tourists to visit. It is the Christmas capital of the world and there are so many great restaurants along the street. Parking can be a hassle sometimes, but overall it is a great place to visit!

A Variety of Small Shops

By KfromOhio |

If you like to visit small shops in an older historic atmosphere then this would be good for you. Some were a bit pricey and somewhat a tourist trap but overall good visit. Visited during middle of week, so attractions such as blacksmith and historic train not open. We did not eat there as we grabbed something prior to arriving. The new Texrail train is a great way to get to Fort Worth and other areas west of Grapevine for other things to do. We used it to get closer to and then hopped bus to Stockyards. Also can take it eastbound to DFW. Very nice and comfortable train cars and higher speed.

Main Street Days (Festival)

By KitKatSouthlake |

Every year my kids love this festival! Great shopping as well as homemade crafts and jewelry. Of course you can't miss out on the fun rides and cotton candy. Make sure you have a turkey leg and check out the craft brew section. Excellent entertainment year after year.
On any other regular day, stroll through the streets and enjoy the various restaurants and specialty shops. Enjoy!

Christmas capital of Texas

A Hallmark Christmas in Texas.
If you are in the area during the holidays a walk down Main St.
is a must. There are displays, music and events throughout the
month. You can feel the holiday spirit young and old alike.

Great fun at Christmas

By David761946 |

Strolled down Main Street and visited the many shops in the historic section of Main Street. Very festive and fun evening with the family. Topped it off going to the Palace theater to see a full screen version of “It’s a Wonderful Life”

Many shops, wineries and restraunts.

By Jeff M |

Plenty to do/see for a casual weekend. Just stroll along Main Street and visit shops and sip wine. Also, there are many food options ranging from quick take-out to upscale.

Worth it!

By ymbl |

We’ve visited Grapevine before, but this time we made the trip over from Fort Worth on the new TexRail train. It was a little cold today, but we’ll definitely make this trip often when the weather is nicer!

Magical Christmas on Grapevine Historic Main Street

By happyretiree1968 |

Being a lover of all things Christmas, we recently visited Grapevine's (Texas) Historic Main Street District. Grapevine bills itself as "The Christmas Capital of Texas", and we'd say that is an accurate description. Each building was lovingly decorated and although each business had their own theme, it all tied together to create a wonderful display both during daytime and at night. If we lived in the Dallas area, this definitely would be one of our annual Christmas outings -- a nice dinner a one of the many excellent restaurants followed by Christmas lightseeing while strolling through the District. Parking was easy.

Main Street

I wish more towns had thriving downtowns like this. We enjoyed many of the shops. We had lunch at a sidewalk cafe. Love this place.

great

By mckenzie |

it's a nice place to hang out with friends, I love the nice shops. nice place to make memories. I have fun with me and my boyfriend going there.

Worth a Visit. Bring Your Wallet.

By KOCM |

I will tell you straight up that I am not the wander around town shopping type. I like to go in, get my items, and leave. So, when my buddies said we were all gonna catch a shuttle into town for shopping I wanted to pass. I'm glad I didn't.

Granted, a lot of the shops are geared to art and antiques, but they have wineries, so why not go? I was thinking I would do some sampling all afternoon, but once I got there I spent most of my time talking to store owners, checking out the architecture, and enjoying the town. We picked a fun place for lunch and I had chili and a cold Lone Star beer. Then we bought some small batch gormet sweets that were amazing. I ended up missing the wineries myself, because I was enjoying the rest of the town.

So, if you like antiques, art, wine, and boutiques, this is your place. If not, you will find something to enjoy. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon in the district. Thanks to all the business owners for being so friendly and for running such cool operations in town.

Beautiful

By TravelingRunner77 |

Downtown Grapevine was a nice escape from our hotel. It was lit up with many lights for Christmas. The shops were wonderful. Tolberts was a great place to hear a live band and eat delicious catfish. All and all we had a great time.

Nice Southern Town

By LongIslandGirl |

One thing I have to say is that this town was immaculate. It was not one piece of paper went to Bree anywhere on the ground it was refreshing to see. We went on a Monday evening and we had already eaten dinner, I thought that I would be able to shop in a little shops but unfortunately Monday most of them are closed which I did not know before hand. It was a pleasant little village we walked up and down the street and then we took the shuttle back to our hotel there a few historic buildings along the way

Christmas Capital of Texas and a lot more

By wendyquest |

This was my first visit to this area and was very happily surprised by how much history was here and the Christmas decorations were fun too. There's limited street parking and please watch the do-not-park signs so you don't get towed. It looked like a shuttle was available. Basically parked in a side lot and walked along Main. The Train area was very busy so started on the opposite end of the street. Bet this place looks great at night with the lights on.
12 year old - Enjoyed the decorations
8 year old - Enjoyed the decorations
3 year old - Enjoyed the decorations

Not much

By Tileman1213 |

Overrated

Not much on this Main Street. I wouldn’t waste your time! Mainly cheap souvenirs. Can’t comment on the restaurants though. They might be good?

Fun place - go all out for Christmas

By 1Calypso |

Spent an afternoon in historic Grapevine. Such a cute place to visit during the holidays. The town really goes all out! Great restaurants and shopping too!

Downtown Shopping

By Thomas V |

This is a sort of downtown in this big suburb. Some of the buildings are old, some not so much. Get out of your car and walk around as we did and we shopped.

Historic downtown

By mtharris2019 |

I have been going to the Dallas/Ft Worth area for work for years and how I missed this gem I don't know. It is worth a stroll anytime! I went on a nice Sunday afternoon and went through shops and wine tastings. Umbra and Bingham were great wine tastings.

Pleassnt stroll

By NeverUnpacked |

We were staying with friends a couple blocks away, so we did took the stroll on a nice day. Many nice shops. Really enjoyed the farmers market, even though this is off season. Surprised by the number of wineries nearby. Always have enjoyed the train display on past visits. Pleasant small-town area, as long as it is an uncrowded day, like we had.

Favorite pass-time

By Catherine M |

Walking down Main Street is one of my favorite things to do when I have time to browse or need to buy a gift.. or, even better, it's Christmas! There are some great little shops. Some of my favorites are Willow Cottage, Holy Grounds (for coffee and spiritual gifts), One Posh Place. For food.. favorites are Main Street Bistro (coffee, lunch, or dinner!) and Farina's Winery. Grapevine Main Street is a special place and a special experience. It feels like "home".

Obsessed

By Calli S |

I moved to Grapevine the beginning of August and this is my favorite place to go every week. It is so fun to just walk up and down the street and check out the shops, wineries, food, live music. Don't get me started on how great it is at Christmas. There's plenty of parking to find. But I will say be ready for a ton of people during the Holiday Season. It's still worth it because there are tons of photo opportunities all over. It is also probably a little pricey. But in my opinion it is worth it. Some things to schedule and do would be a trian ride on the historic train that makes short trips or a longer ride to Fort Worth for the day. There's also a glass blowing studio that you can schedule a time to make a paperweight, wine glass, pumpkin, or Christmas ornament. Those depend on what season it is. There is Italian food Napoli's, Seafood Dinos, French Food (Chez Fabian), Mediterranean (Piaf), and chili (Tolberts), Live music on the weekends at Willhoites, Chez Fabians, Tap-In, Tolberts, and Piaf. Some of my favorite wineries are Landon, Sloan and Williams, Messina Hoff, and Wine Fusion.

Darling town decorated for Christmas

By w71k75 |

My husband I had an opportunity to spend time in downtown Grapevine during the holidays this year. The community did a great job decorating the downtown buildings and trees. They have cute store, farmers market and good restaurants. There is a town square where people gather to take pictures, listen to holiday music, shop and visit. It truly felt like an old town Christmas. There were many people on the street just enjoying the evening. We are from Ohio and visit Grapevine in the summer to just shop the cute little shops. My husband loves the Bacon Katchup he buys at the farmers market. Close to upscale outlet mall, Great Wolfe Lodge, The Gaylord and DFW.

Christmas Capital of Texas

By Carole D |

Great place to take your significant other or the whole family. Main Street is lit up for the holidays. There are several restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and bars. Take advantage of shopping in the many boutiques along the street. Plenty of places for photo opportunities. You’ll see why they call Grapevine the Christmas Capital of Texas!

Great place to seek food

By Bob |

There are many restaurants in this area and close by to this area. I ate downtown on three different occasions and was not disappointed.

Easily Overlooked

By JacksonSE |

I had forgotten how much fun the Grapevine Main Street area can be until going on a wine tour just before Christmas. There are many good restaurants, special places to shop, and if you are into people-watching take a window seat somewhere, sip a drink and watch the world walk by.

Quaint town to spend an afternoon

By USN_Seabee_Wife |

We walked around the shops and the downtown area. There are a few historic buildings to see so make sure you stop and read the history about them. There are plenty of restaurants to stop and have a bite of the local fare.

Something for everyone here

By Five_Aces_Tx |

When in the DFW area this is one area that you should see. There is something for everyone in this well kept area of town. Just park and walk or it's a short Uber ride from the big hotels down the road.

Nice area - shopping and restaurants

By SDCooks |

An unexpected layover at DFW allowed us time to catch the shuttle to Grapevine's Historic Main Street. There are lots of shops, restaurants and a surprising number of wine tasting opportunities. We enjoyed a stop at the historic cabin and shelter from the rain there. Nice plantings. Main street has a lot of steps on it so was a little difficult to travel as we had a wheeled carryon and a backpack...makes you wonder how a disabled person navigates the area. Shuttle pick up locations were well marked. Good way to spend a couple of hours.

Very pintoresque

By Vhern |

Great to go on Christmas. Cold but worth it. There are a lot of lights which I really enjoyed, it seems so cozy and personal. I like it so much

wine galore!

By Richard W |

If you are looking for a great place to get away from it all Historic Grapevine is the place to go. Many wineries to visit with lots of great eateries.

Festival

It was way over priced to just get in to see. If we would have stayed for the bands it would have been better but we had our 2 and 9 year olds with us.

Cool

By Izzy L |

Very cool little historical strip. Many good restaurants on main street, little local mom and pop shops selling their wares.

Nothing memorable

By Travellover6128 |

We walked around this area one Friday lunchtime. It seemed deserted and rather run down. There were a number of touristy looking shops but nothing stood out as impressive.

Great Shopping

The downtown of Grapevine is a pretty cool place, it definitely has its own "charm". I can't remember exactly whether it's fall or spring but they do have a grapevine Fest and that is really fun, check it out and go to explore and enjoy the wine there! Cheers!

Absolutely charming town

Grapevine is such a unique, charming community that we visited three days and ate at three different restaurants. The French bakery is excellent and the stores are quaint with unique gift ideas. Lots of wine tasting opportunities!

This IS Where To Catch and Keep The Christmas Spirit

Grapevine is well known for its Christmas decorations and this year, the city continues to help people get into and sustain the great Christmas spirit. There are numerous restaurants with diverse food offerings, all sorts of specialty shops where you can certainly find a gift for that hard to buy for person. There is entertainment at the movie theater where you can see many of the old Christmas classic films. It is a great family day of shopping, eating and enjoying each others company...Merry Christmas Grapevine!!

Historic, Wineries, Shopping,Railroads, Fun and So Much More

By KayJazz |

Grapevine historic downtown offers so much for the whole family. The city is quite active in keeping everything fresh and clean. From family fun at Nash Farm, the Botanical Gardens, Grapevine Vintage Railroad, Vineyard Campgrounds, Parks, Lake Grapevine, over 10 wine tasting venues, shopping and some of the finest restaurants.

The 3rd weekend of May is Main Street Fest featuring craft beers.
In September, there's Grapefest which is the largest wine festival in Northern Texas.
And starting in late November Grapevine transforms into The Christmas Capital of Texas where everyone gets into the spirit of the season.
It's fun for all!

Stayca or Out of Town Guests

By Varsity Travel Club |

Grapevine is the perfect place to spend a day as a girls day out, romantic outing, or an out of town guests view of Texas! Great restaurants, wineries, shops, and even a train station that takes only twelve minutes to get from North Richland Hills, and also goes to DFW Airport or Downtown Fort Worth! All of this on one street! It’s one of my favorite places.

Fun Town

By Mvanz |

It is beautiful at Chriatmas Time. Cute town to walk around in and window shop. Find parking and walk, you will enjoy the shopping and browsing, along with the town Decor and eating places. Nice place to spend the afternoon.

Great Little Downtown

By zapprint |

Grapevine has done a superb job of restoring and preserving a nice downtown shopping/eating spot. Combined with a shuttle system in addition to UBER/Lyft downtown is a 5 minute trip from the many convention spots. The merchants are super friendly, even the young employees.

Charming Historic Town

By Experience631805 |

While in Grapevine for a wedding, I had the opportunity to explore this unique little downtown. The city is very well preserved and has beautiful architecture, it almost feels like you’re in an old western movie. They have plenty of wineries, restaurants, an old fashioned train and very quaint little boutiques. Also along the walk down main street they had what seemed to be a farmers market with all sorts of vendors and fresh veggies. I would highly recommend visiting here and seeing this part of Texas history. I also heard at Christmas time the city goes all out, and would make you feel like you’re in a Hallmark movie.

Must visit type of place

By tlsntx |

Grapevine is known as the Christmas capital of Texas but it doesn’t stop there. I lived here for 3 years and loved it. Main Street is full of cute lil shops and boutiques not to mention all the cool places to eat. They have a farmers market available along with train rides too. At Xmas the whole street from one end to the other is lit up and decorated. If your ever near Grapevine you have to stop and wander down Main Street.

Cute little town amongst the sprawl of Dallas

Great little downtown. Friendly store owners and Easy to walk. We have babies in a stroller (twins) and no store owner seemed the least bit bothered by the big ole stroller coming into their shop.

A trip back to a kinder time

By docrob01 |

We have been here often, but most recently around Christmas. Many nice restaurants and shops to spend a fun evening. It is always lively. If you can, take the Texrail train so you don’t have to worry about parking (which is pretty rough). It reminds you of an old downtown shopping experience. Big Fish is our favorite restaurant here, but there are many others we want to try. Many wine bars as well, if that is your thing.
Main Street is definitely something worthwhile to do.

Cute historic town, very walkable

We enjoyed walking down Main Street and looking at all the shops and the historical buildings. Each historical building has a plaque that tells you when it was built and what it was used for.

Town is great! Railroad Not!

By Jennifer R |

Visited the town to ride the railroad to the Stockyards. Delay was 45 minutes, took 3 hours stopping a going to get to the FW Stockyards. We did not want another 3 hour ride back toGrapevine so we spent $30 on an Uber that only took 30 minutes.

Great place to take family and friends!

By deannay2017 |

Downtown Grapevine is beautiful piece of Texas history sitting in the middle of the metro-plex. The city leaders and local businesses have managed to keep the old charm while bringing great restaurants, new and vintage shopping, wineries, bakeries, tea rooms, art galleries, local artisans together on the Main Street and within walking distance off of it. You can make a day of the shopping or just drop in for dinner.

THE SINGLE GREATEST EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES!

By Chris S |

We have traveled Europe, Asia, South America and North Carolina many times. There are no single or multiple attractions on any of those continents or state that compare with Downtown Grapevine. Period. Full stop. Paris, France good luck finding decent tacos. Hong Kong, ever heard of pizza? Rio De Janeiro, too sunny. But in Grapevine, TX the world is your oyster! And they got oysters too They have wine, beer, bread, cheese, they even have ranch dressing. Like extremely rare Chinese-made Texas themed tourist knick-knack stuff? How about THREE BLOCKS of shops full of em! Ever wonder where the Illuminati meet to control the world with robots? Go visit the local Masonic chapter. Heck, there's even a real log cabin built by ancient Egyptians on display. You can look inside and see how people lived before 1995. We are currently negotiating with the city to allow our remains to be fire blasted out of howitzers into the street itself so that our immortal souls will be tied to this place for infinity. Whatever it is you're looking for in life; love, friendship, happiness, spiritual enlightenment, you will find none of it outside of Downtown Grapevine.

Great city to visit especially for a day trip

By Scott M |

The Main St. Historic district is nice to visit. For the wine enthusiast the main draw is the multiple tasting rooms, I think about 8 or so total. All were inviting and provided good service. (We did not visit them all). There are also restaurants and shops with clothing and touristy souvenir type stuff. It’s a great day trip or an overnight for people in the DFW area. Lots of parking.
