Solvang is a "must see" place! A chunk of Europe in the middle of Californian wasteland!
Hats off to the Danes for providing this oasis. I'ld thank Mary, but I think it's before her time! LOL

This is a nice place to stop in Solvang for a picnic if your visiting this quaint little town. There are lots of restaurants & bakeries in the village to help supply your needs. There are public restrooms on site as well as picnic tables. While there you can enjoy the beauty of the town surrounding you.

The park is open around 7am to 8pm and free to enter. It has a cute entrance which can be used by both cars and people. There is a nice 1.3 mile loop that makes for a great trail/park run. Although the signs say it's used for both people & horses, the trail was very clean and we never needed to watch where we were stepping. There are also tennis courts, a playground and a skate park.

This town is kind of fun and if you start at the park you will be able to see almost the whole thing at once. The stores are cute, but many repeat their inventory so you don't need to spend a lot of time shopping, if you are into wine there are plenty of places that do tastings, and there are bakeries on every street. You certainly don't need more than a day to visit the town. When we went tourist season hadn't started yet so the stores and museums closed early, it's kind of a ghost town after 6 pm if you go before June.

The park is located in the center of Solvang, all the buildings are very beautiful and feels like coming form the fairytale. But the town is very small, and you can just spend about 2 hour to walk around. And there are also couple shops to check out.

Hans Christian Park is north of the center of town. It is much larger than Solvang Park where the statue of HCA resides, so I think that is why some of the reviews for Hans Christian Andersen Park are actually reviewing Solvang Park next to a town parking lot and public restrooms that gets very crowded with tourists due to the location. If you want to visit a large oak shaded park with lovely scenery, playground and picnic facilities head to Hans Chridtian Andersen Park north of Solvang Park. Photographers come here to take engagement or wedding photos. Lots of room to run or relax away from the busy tourist park and shops. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy! Both parks have something different to offer, so visit both and decide on your favorite.

Must stop here to see the windmill and enjoy the culture of the area. Lots of shops to go through and many good eats.

It felt like you were in another country!!! Lovely establishments in a lovely town. Park your car and walk thorugh the streets and if you have time, rent bikes or ride the horse-drawn carriages.

A little bit uncertain of how to react to the place - went on a recommendation - but not sure that I will echo that recommendation. Too touristy. Went to the park as this can often offer some respite, and it was a nice spot, but we left after Solvang after about ten minutes. Not our scene.

This is a pleasant little park in the middle of town with plenty of benches and a public restroom near by. There is also s band stand and the time we were there a local band was performing. They were very good! Lots of locals with blankets and liquid refreshments!

Visited the pocket park while passing through Solvang on a recent visit. Good for a stop if you brought the kiddos on a visit to Solvang.

The park itself is very small and there are public restrooms on the ground. As someone previously mentioned the pictures and reviews aren't on the park it self just an FYI

This quaint park is a great place to just sit and relax after a day of shopping. There are some shady trees which make it a great spot to get out of the sun for a bit and just watch people stroll by.

The picnic area is the highlight of the park. Some walking trails take you through a gulley-like valley with an all-natural setting (business district on one side and suburban housing on the other, but raised above you so you can't see or hear much noise). Peaceful and conveniently located near the middle of Solvang. Picnic area has reservable tables, some covered, and a few reservable BBQ pits (Santa Maria style). Look out for wildlife if you are walking early or at dusk.

A very nicely maintained large park within Solvang. If you have kids they can ride their bikes or hike in the area. There are picnic areas, a skate board in the ground complex. A little further into the park there are enclosed tennis courts. Assorted play equipment in different locations. A great place to spend some leisurely time.

Drove from Santa Barbara to enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather. Lovely little town to wander round and photograph the pretty buildings and windmills. Ideal for about an hour unless you like shopping in gift shops then you may enjoy longer. Parking plentiful and free, places to eat or buy snacks , and the fudge shop is expensive but delicious!

A little Denmark on its own!!
A few roads of this town is cleverly designed as Denmark style architecture!!
We visit in cold month and we enjoyed the trip!!
Few hours we forget we are in california and thought we slipped in to a European town!!
Disclaimer- Nothing more than the buildings are there.. few wine tasting and bakeries and nice dinners!!
This is a nice and little park at heart of the town!

Nice attraction, good place to take a picture and a little rest with a park or picnic area and rest room break, the kids can run around for a bit then you can continue with your tour of Solvang, Ca.

I did the mistake that some other people did and that was drive a very very long time to get here so I was expecting almost a mini Disneyland of Danish goodness.
I was pretty upset when I got there, ONLY because my expectations were set so high by miscommunication. If you don't expect some big attraction kind of day event than you will love this.
It's a couple of streets (3-5 blocks) of mostly bakeries and little knick knock stores that sell wooden objects and interesting little objects. There isn't anything that's really an attraction as far as thing to do besides walk around, eat some great baked goods, and go home.
If you are passing by this area stop by! The architecture is so cute! It's almost looks like a fake town because the houses and shops rooftops are so beautiful.
A great photo opportunity.
It took us about 30-40 min to go to all the shops and bakeries in the town and take photos.

This is a nice Clean little Park in the middle of town great for taking your Dog for a walk & for Childern playing. Nicely treed and flowers Well worth the strol thru this site.

Nice little park with a skate park for older kids, tennis courts and a horseshoe pit. There is also a nice area with a large bbq grill for a group that can be reserved. It was very quiet when we visited on a Monday.

A nice place to take a break in the cozy village.
Fine opportunities to plan the rest of the day in Solvang

Not much to this park. Walkable from town. Don't expect too much. And the atmosphere didn't feel as good as the rest of Solvang.

We spent a great afternoon in Solvang. We had lunch at the Solvang Restaurant, the oldest restaurant in town. It is a very neat town to walk through and visit. We would like to go back again sometime for their festival.

Nice small park, has a very nice picnic with BBQ area. The skate park looks very good for the size of the town.

Solvang is a recreation of a Dutch village along with the windmills and thatched roofs. Lots of shops and mementos along with a shop displaying the works of Thomas Kinkade.

FUN FUN FUN ...
We were travelling for my Danish friend's 40th birthday!!
We had to stop in Solvang!!
Super FUN!!

certainly different and made me feel like i was in another country. too bad we could only stay for half a day since it was not our final destination.

Solvang is an awesome place to visit! The whole town is very quiet and has tons of sights to see. This park is a great rest area in between walking around or for eating lunch.

Enjoyed walking the park. Beautiful picnic grounds, skateboard park, playgrounds, trails, bbq's, tennis courts, and more. And rest rooms everywhere! Would love to come revisit.

Many people whose reviews are here on this site think that this is the downtown park with the Hans Christian Anderson bust. It is not. It is a short drive down Atterdag street on the left just outside of town. Nice park with a short 1.3 mile hike and a skate park. If your kids are into skateboarding, this is a great place for them! Also a great place for a picnic lunch and a hike!

Right I n the center of Solvang, a small, but, well kept community park. Great for a picnic, or sit in the shade cause it’s so hot.

Such a pretty park in the most charming town ever- Solvang! Loved this park abd Danish city. Beatiful views at the park and great place to relax and eat lunch

Love this area in CA. History, scenery, awesome food. Walking easy and imagining your place in history and the early years of this beautiful community. Lots to see and do but the breathtaking vistas are whole of the visit. We love to drive up for an overnight experience. Enjoy the town and visit nearby mission. True California history right before you. Experience a Sunday mass if possible, warm friendly people's from all walks of life. Easy walk through town. Don't miss a nook or cranny. You won't regret.

Great place for both kids and dogs. There is a skateboard park, a tennis court...lots of fields for dogs to run...several picnic areas...many of which are under cover. What a great place!

I brought my 14 year old boy and 12 year old daughter and they had a blast climbing trees and biking around. It's a cool spot to go instead of being in town with the crowds.

We were so exhausted roaming the streets of solvang as the heat was killing, finally dropped dead in this park. A good place to sit and relax for a while in the shade.

Killed some time here waiting for our room. There was a new looking deck with mounted benches. It looked like they had to cut down a couple of trees for the project. The deck was made of wood look plastic. Two things
1. Handicapped and old people don't need step ups. Ground level is best
2. I'm on crutches and this deck material is slippery. My crutches slipped out when I tried to stand. My wife had to help me but I was afraid I was going to need the fire dept

What a lovely town is Solvang, really nice architecture!! With a very European look. This place is really beautiful and great to take pictures!!

This park is in the middle of town and is a good place for the kids to work off energy or have a picnic without going out of town. It is shady and well-maintained....the restrooms are always clean!!!

A nice change from commercial Solving. This is an older park with features well spread out and plenty of oak trees to provide shade. There are numerous and plentiful picnic spots. a walking trail connects the points of interest in the park. It was odd there is a skate park, but no basketball courts. For visitors traveling it's easier to put a basketball in the car than it is to bring a scooter.

It feels like I'm back in Europe wihen I visited this place, love the architecture and atmospheric ambience of the place. I wish I can say more but simply visit Solvang to see for yourself!

We were super confused by the pictures posted as from this park on trip advisor! They are mostly pictures of downtown Solvang, not The park. The park itself has a castle like entrance but then it just a regular city park! It is near the grade school and is a nice little park but not at all as pictured.

Not much to see, but a pleasant place to rest between shops. All of Solvang is worth a visit, especially if you love spending time in quint little shops and seeing how unique the buildings are. Love going there and wish it was closer to San Diego.

Small park, but very nice to get away. Short hiking trail - not too steep - used by horses and people. Playground for kids, tennis courts, skatepark, picnic tables. Easy walk from the main part of Solvang. Nice to get away from just shopping and eating sometimes.

It is found right in town. There is a bronze statue of Hans Christian Anderson. It was well groomed and relaxing.

Just drove by it did not stop. It was getting dark. Its an ok place. It does not have to much to look at.

We visited in April ‘21 and around Christmas and it’s a nice place to see and enjoy night or day any time of the year. Centrally located near the places in town with good food and danish treats.

I arrive this tiny cute city by 3pm and leave in the next morning, even it's just a short stay, and basically all the stores were closed but I can still tell how wonderful it is. Honestly there's not too much conection with Hans Christian Anderson but it still a cute place to stop by.

Explored this place with our family. Like how the houses were designed and I specially love the ambiance of the place. There are a lot of shops to choose from and a lot of options for the restaurants as well.

Walking all streets of Solvang (translated: Sunny Field) is a wonderful experience in this Danish town/city. Very clean and interesting buildings.

This is a great place to walk in Solvang. Solvang is a great place that looks like you are in Scandinavia, right in California!

We’re not going to talk about a particular park but rather the city. This typical Danish town is really nice with small typical streets, a total change of scenery. A mill on the main road and many houses built as in northern Europe. It is imperative to make a small stop in this city to discover this jewel that exudes calm and authenticity.

Great spot to stop and people watch. We grabbed some ice-cream and just enjoyed the slow pace of Solvang

Park is located in the center of town, they have a statue of Hans Christen Anderson, is also next to public parking lot, and public restrooms.
Would suggest using this parking lat, as it is in middle of town, and also on Wednesday's is at the edge of streets where they block off for the farmers market.
Nice grassy areas, a few tables, and several large tree's for shade, nothing overly special about the park, but is located in the convenient area.

For some reason, we had the impression that this was a playground. There are a few play areas inside, but it's much more. There are trails for walking, hiking and biking. We rode bikes there about 9:00 am and had the place nearly to ourselves. There are parking areas, restrooms and drinking fountains. There are picnic areas and shady places to sit.
It's a very easy drive or walk there: it's right outside the north side of town.

Beating the heat from the sun we decided to rest in this park, though it was crowded and busy , its a good resting spot.

Hans Christian Andersen Park is an awesome park filled with large live oak trees. To enter this park, one needs to drive through a castle arch. It has a skating section. There is a small wooden playground behind the skating section. There are several benches for public seating. Certainly worth visiting when in Solvang.

Weird little place but had many a good time there. It is always over run with tourists, even in the week. A good day out just walking around and eating pastries.

This little park is in the center of the town on the Main Street. The highlight is the statue of Hans Christian Anderson. There is a public restroom for visitors and tables for picnics. A great place to sit and read, eat, or just people watch.

We were impressed by the main gate, and thought man this park is going to be cool. But we found nothing interesting inside the park. We thought we had driven to the wrong place because we saw all these cool pictures on here.

I couldn't find a way to review the cute village of Solvang, other than starting in this park! We did actually go to this park to use the restrooms!
We loved this town, enjoyed the shopping and cute buildings. We only had an hour here, but 1/2 a day or more would have been better!
We only bought souvenirs, snacks and cold drinks, but there are a lot of places to eat or drink!

Hans Christian Andersen Park is a tranquil and picturesque retreat in the heart of Solvang. With its serene atmosphere, beautifully maintained grounds, and quaint surroundings, it’s perfect for a leisurely walk or a peaceful moment to unwind. Whether you’re visiting solo or with family, the park offers a slice of calm that’s hard to resist. A must-visit for anyone exploring this charming town!

The park is located at the north part of Atterdag road across the Atterdag VIllage - a retirement community which was home of the former Atterdag College. The place is great for walks, biking and picnics. It also has an area for skating. The place is well kept including the restrooms. So if you feel overwhelmed with the crowded downtown village, this place is a nice diversion. Nice for taking nature pictures too...

We took a nice small walk in the park while we were visiting. The Central Coast is in a drought, so everything was dry. It has trials, a playground, and picnic areas.

A nice small park to relax your feet as you walk around town. The grass is green, the benches are comfortable, the people are nice, and there is no dog poo to step into. Take a picture with the Hans bust - just like you are in a Denmark park.

Nice, small, very green and grassy park, with welcome trees on a hot day. Many people relaxing on a holiday. Lovely bust of HCA (is the name sometimes spelled Andersen?) with a plaque. Good photo op.

Great park to bring the dogs when staying in town. Nice place to relax during shopping or a nice place to picnic.

The park is well located and the tours leave from nearby. It is nice to grab a bike and ride around or just to walk around town

This is a wonderful park on the north end of Solvang, approximately 4 blocks from downtown Solvang and Mission Drive. Bring your family and enjoy the picnic areas, the arbor and BBQ area, the swing sets and "kid area." There is now a skate park as well. Keep driving through the park and you will discover all the areas. There is great shaded parking area, and hiking trails that eventually lead you to where HWY 246 comes into town on the south side of town. I've been spending time in this hidden gem of a park...long before the City of Solvang came into being and put a lot of resources into making it the wonderful park it is today. Stop by!

The park is located next to downtown. It is a good place to stop if you have kids so they can run around a bit. There is a statue of Hans there that provides a great photo op too.

We walked out of town to find this park as we had seen it advertised. It has a lovely archway on the entrance. The park is so clean and well looked after. There are many picnic benches. There are also barbecue areas set up and fire pits. It is the quietest park I have ever visited as there was no one around. When talking to a local, she explained that this is due to the heat during the day. There are toilets and drinking fountains in the park. Children can use the skate park and there are some play areas for 'the climbers' in your family! The play areas could be developed further for more for the children to do. But overall, a lovely setting. Bring a picnic and play some outdoor games!

Want a trip to Denmark? Take a trip 2 hours north of LA into the Santa Ynez valley and go to Solvang. This is a special kind of 'tourist trap' and shopping Mecca. And hams Christian Andersen Park is a special kind of park for children. A skate park for older kids, slides, lawns swings, a music making area for little ones and all shut out from the rest of town by a 'Castle Gate'. When you are done with the park, maybe you should think about something to eat. My recommendations include Paula's Pancakes, Birkholm Bakery, Olsen's Bakery, Solvang Bakery, Chomp Burgers, and even the Kabuki Japanese Restaurant, the Mandarin Chinese or the Bodega de Espana! There are almost 1,000 shops in Solvang to work off that meal, including toy shops, China shops' clothing shops, bookstores, clock shops Scandinavian specialties and antiques. Don't forget, Mission Santa Ines is on the eastern edge of town (and Mission La Purissima is only a few miles to the west). If you're not there yet, what about a place to,stay? We don't demand the palatial, but have stayed very comfortably and reasonably at the Hotel Corque (town Center), the Kronberg Inn (west end) and the Holiday Inn (just across from the Kronberg). Enjoy!

This is a very small park on the main street. There is a climbing structure for kids, concrete picnic tables with benches and a grass. That's about it. Good place to being your Subway sandwich and eat if it is a nice day!

When you’ve walked around town shopping and just enjoying what Solvang can offer, nothing beats being able to sit down and rest those tired feet. It was even nice for us to be able to enjoy our lunch in the provided park tables and chairs.
Another plus is the public bathroom for everyone just across the park, and a convenient parking space which was always full.
We thoroughly enjoyed the short respite provided us by this park... awesome! Now if there was free WiFi, it would’ve been perfect 😊.

Gather your treats for your picnic and head to the park. Lots of bakeries with a Danish flavor for the picnic. Just eat your abelskivers while they are warm. Don’t save them for the picnic,

the buildings are amazing looks story bookish and feels so calm and you enjoy the scenery . it has trees and grass to lay down.

The park has an area for skates and skateboards and has picnic areas and clean restrooms. The parking was good. Nice walk and beautiful scenery, good for meditation and quiet time away from the more touristy locations of Solvang.

If you have time in Solvang and you need to kill it this is a place to go
I did not find anything really interesting

This downtown green area is located on the far side of the parking lot near the Visitor Information booth. We chose it for our picnic lunch, and found it a little busy for our taste. Lots of people coming and going, lots of kids running around, lots of traffic fairly close by. Well-kept restrooms are a plus. There are good-sized picnic tables, though only about half of them are in the shade.

Beyond tennis courts, this park was mostly a swath of undeveloped land in the center of town. Nice trails for walking or running.

we found this by accident, just a nice nature walk, no statues or anything. it is a 1.3 mile loop, not to hard

We have 2 small children and we visited this place to spend time with them. It was a great idea. It is a huge park with lots of greenery, trees and grass. It can't get closer to nature than this. We spent 2 hours here in the excellent weather. It's a must visit:

It's fun for the kids and peaceful. Good restrooms and parking in the visitor center nearby. Many shops all around within walking distance

This is a lovely little hidden park. It has a lot of trails for such a small area. It also has a lot of things to offer: picnic/BBQ area, tennis courts, horse trails, playground, restrooms. And its free!

After wondering around Solvang for the day, we stopped and bought lunch at subway then ate it in the park to let granddaughter burn off some energy.

They have musicians sometimes in the gazebo. Bring a chair and enjoy the music. They had a 50's group when we were there and they were very good, Elvis looking singer too!

I walked the park several times while visiting Solvang. There are many things for families to do here.

The day we visited it was 101 degrees outside. My dog and I dislike the heat.... I gave the kids a few $$$ to go around town and buy their stuff, and I waited for them in the park..
There are lots of trees, plenty of shade, and very green. It is a nice relaxing little place.. There are restrooms and drinking fountains (even one for you furry friends)!!

this is a nice little park with good toilets. There is a statue of Hans Christian Anderson hence the name of the park. Nothing much else

A small park that looks like you are in a Danish community, surrounded by houses and other establishments. The park is ideal for a short walk probably after enjoying the other sights of Solvang. There is a playground for kids.

I enjoyed this park. My family and I even had a picnic there. It was very green and clean. Where I'm from its hard to find Parks that are clean and the trash cans are not overflowed with garbage

This park is amazing. But what first timers may not know, which we didn't, is that this park is HUGE. It is amazing, and so well thought out, BUT, we had grand kids, and thought that we wouyld take them to the park thinking that it would be a Disney type of experience.. WRONG, The entrance to the park is listed as just a few minute walk away. Yes, that is the ENTRANCE, But the whole park is so exstensive that it is deceiving. The many playgrounds and facilities are extremely spread out.
That having been said, it is a really GREAT place to bring the kids for a few hours. It is wonderfully set up and very clean.

You will feel like your in a Euro park with the many dogs trotting around. And the fresh air will cure what ails you.

Great place to relay or hit a restroom. It a nice little park in the middle of town. It has a bunch of picnic tables and various displays to see but the highlight was the clean bathrooms.

My wife and I visited Solvang and surroundings for a week in August. Our hotel mentioned that there was music in the park in the evenings. We went not expecting too much; but were very surprised! A great 60's rock band was playing to a large turn out crowd. There was seating available at some permanent picnic tables. Locals brought their own lawn chairs. Great weather , music & people watching!

Huge skate park. We were looking something for younger kids - 4 and 6. This is more for older kids.
They do have bathrooms, and it is maintained well.

We stumbled upon this wonderful park by accident while in town for a wedding. It has beautiful, lush hiking trails, a tennis court surrounded by trees and plants, a skate park and play area. We should have spent more time there and we'll visit again.

lovely area for a stroll to view windmill and scenery of the area. flowers were so colorful, very cheery!!

Solvang and it's parts are a real treasure for avEuropean tourist just like for me.
I was so happy to spend some hours in "Californian Europe".
Great memories! I loved the Hans park.

This park is an adorable and extensive castle village made of wood. This would be a perfect place for a group of kids to play hide and seek, as the entire structure is a huge maze of a structure with several areas all connected and splayed out.

Love to visit Solvang any chance we get. Friendly folks, plenty of varied shopping opportunities, well located hotels to city center, wonderful restaurants for dining, there is even an historical site to visit.

Right in the centre of Solvang is a small park that essentially is an attraction for kids but even elders can relax and watch the kids enjoy and play.

With all of the tourist activity going on it’s nice to have a peaceful spot like this park to take a breather from exploring. Quite charming and has a number of activities.

My husband and I swung by this little town in search of an old store that used to sell Randall Knives. That store is still there but it is no longer owned by the same guy, so we spent our time in this nice park. It was very quiet so early in the morning (8am), with plenty of parking space until it was time to leave (10am) when all of a sudden traffic was jammed and we can't believe that there was so many people trying to come to this town. This was in March of 2019. The park is clean and very well maintained, it has clean public restrooms and the people are so friendly. We love meandering around town and looking at the buildings that pays tribute to Denmark.

It is a free event. You can go through quickly or take a slowed down process and take it all in. Good for adults and kids.

The real gem, is the town itself. It is very quaint and European. A definite stop for coffee and pastries or lunch. Lovely little shops, lots to look at and things to buy if you are a shopper.

Everything is so green such a nice change from the Mojave Desert! Very peaceful and relaxing even when there are a lot of people! Great place for a picnic or just people watch. They have very clean restrooms which is nice while shopping or just relaxing in the park.

This is a nice park in the centre with statue of Hans Christian Anderson. I ate my subway here watching many tourists walking by.

Solvang is such a surprise! A small little Danish town in the middle of wine country! It is really delightful. Lots of little stores, restaurants and little boutiques, it is very touristy but still a lot of fun. Worth seeing if you are in the area.

There is a nice statue of Hans Christian Anderson, nice restrooms, and it's right in the heart of Solvang, with free public parking adjacent.

This is a pretty park, lots of mature trees. They have a skate park and it was very busy the day I visited. There are public restrooms near the front of the park. They have a nice playground and plenty of picnic tables. They also have group areas. This park is not far up Atterdag Rd. from the main drag of Solvang, but the entrance is at a bend in the road, so keep a lookout for their sign.

This is in the center of town. If you are part of a group it is great for gathering. Our group met regularly there as it is close to most hotels

Is on the second floor for those who might not be able to climb stairs. Very complete display both books and many other items. The staff was very friendly and the museum was good for all ages. Public Parking, and free admission make this a must see for anyone who loves his works!!

More like a grassy area and a statue of Hand Christian Anderson. A bit of climbing and hanging around and then on with walking in the charming town of Solvang.

Beautiful stroll through the greenest grass, lots of laughter and smiles to be seen out here. Also, a good place to stop and have a snack of pastries in the shade of the trees.

Windmills from Holland are nice, but this one was in Solvang, California, which made it fun to visit. Great photo opps for a real, working windmill. Great park chilling out and eating the local European pastries from various shops nearby.

A nice little space for the kids to run around, but it is next to the main drag, so watch out for card. There is a nice Hans Christian Anderson statue.

Beautiful park nestled in the heart of Solvang. The building facades captivated me and the cobblestone sidewalk was fascinating. The people seem warm and friendly enough. There are a lot of Danish influences and references to Vikings and Hans Christen Anderson, in the names of buildings and squares and blocks and streets to horse drawn wagons and cobbled sidewalks. There are so many impressive diverse stores from needlework to chocolates to antiques, candles and souvenir shops all in this town.

What a wonderful evening! The farmers market was going, there was a band playing on the gazebo and the park was full of families. But best part was the friendly happy love one another atmosphere. Could not have asked for a more relaxing evening.

The grass and trees are well taken cared of, and we enjoyed sitting and cooling ourselves in this lovely park.

We were here on a Wednesday. About 5 or 6 pm a band on the stage starting to play. They were really good. Playing good music. Limited seating. Most people bring their own charges. It was fun.

We made a stop on our way to San Francisco.
It was really pretty and as a dane it was really interesting to see how americans thinks that Denmark is :)
Overall a great place!

This is a fairly large space with a skate park and plenty of places to picnic or barbecue. My husband and I also enjoyed the permanent musical toys for children-- we impressed a small visitor with our musical skills. Good for all ages.

Solvang is a beautiful quite town. We visited it twice in winter. We usually drive from Santa Barbara and come back the same day. I don't think you will have much to do if you stay more. We mainly enjoyed walking around the streets, eating fresh bakery with coffee and buying souvenirs. Fresh air and nice European atmosphere

Simple little park with restrooms, picnic tables, small grassy area, and a bust of Hans Christian Andersen.
A great gelato, ice cream, bullet coffee, etc. place (Cafe Dolce) is tucked next to it, though, so we enjoyed some of their goodies at the park.

The park is on the main drag coming into Solvang. On the third Wednesday nights in the summer, they do have free concerts in and around town. The main attraction is in this park.

Don't expect playgrounds and swings. This is a small part located in the center of the businesses that functions well for a community gathering. In October it was Faerie Fest, in December the tree lighting program to kick off Jule Fest. For the tree lighting program, there were plenty of chair set out so that the community and visitors could enjoy the musical program that preceded the tree lighting. Whatever the time of year, it's a good place to stop and rest before continuing your shopping.
A breadth of fresh air
Very nice and relaxing. We took a casual walk from our hotel to reach this park approximately a mile. The park is full of oak trees and a skateboard rink. We walk around the park seeing all this century old tress. A must for nature lovers, highly recommended.
