Nice beach walk although parking at beach level was packed. Came back later in the day, found a spot and took a nice walk until the wind picked up and sandblasted my ankles.

By CathyEC |

I felt lucky to have found this place! There was almost nobody there, so we were able to take our dog off leash & play. Weather was a bit sketchy but we didn't care!

By Pixelpanderer |

Great place to stop for a walk along the beach, check out the driftwood and run in the waves. The only problem sometimes is finding a place to park.

By desertrat260 |

A must stop on the 101 nice views.nice campground good pick nick area.the pathways were just redone. View parking. This is one of my new favorite places to just sit and watch the waves roll in and out.

By ManOfC0nstantS0rr0w |

Did not camp there but looked clean, well kept.

The road down has about 3 large spots to park with the last a real knockout (with bathrooms). It has some kind of handicap ramp but I am not sure it goes all the way down. It is a ways down and the views are breathtaking. I have seen this on a calm sunny day and a very stormy day. Always be careful on Oregon beaches as rip tides and sneaker waves are common, keep your little ones close by.

Worth even a short look if your time pressed.

Spent an afternoon hiking the beaches and an overnight in a 22 ft motor home. Hiked north beach, south beach and "Rocky Beach". All were very scenic and the trails "easy", (a bit steep, but short). Campground was clean and quiet and restroom/showers some of the best we experienced on this 2-month trip. Clean, hot water, hooks, soap dish AND stool in shower. (Unusual to have all.) Great for a couple of days visit.

By Bkrause2 |

This is one of the gems of the Oregon Coast. Outstanding sunsets. A wilderness feel but close to town. I was married on the beach at the park 6 years ago. Visited the area for 20 years, then I retired to here. Handicap ramp for easy handicap access.

By Bill C |

This has a great setting to explore the rugged Oregon coast. The largest rocks or small island on the entire Oregon coast is here. There are colonies of birds that nest in this location. There is both day use and camping at this site.

By Laura D |

Harris Beach is always a good stop for views, walks and beachcombing. I look forward to visiting here again and again.

We love Harris Beach State Park because it is such a beautiful place. So close to the beach, with great hiking and beach combing. The park is always very clean and well maintained, especially the bathrooms. Very important when you're tent camping. And Brookings has the best weather year-round of all the Oregon coastal campgrounds. It is not, however, the quietest campground, what with close proximity to highway 101. Also, there is a lumber mill just up the road, which can be a little noisy at night. Nonetheless, we've camped here many times and probably will continue to do so.

By Bay_Arean2 |

This is an imprssive beach. Not too huge yet not so small that folks are crowded together. Lots of rocky outcroppings to climb, explore or simply admire. Offers a variety of picnicking options from directly on the sand to different levels (tiers) off the sand. On the day I went, there were lots of driftwood logs to sit on and almost no sign of seaweed or kelp littering the shore.

By Fred E |

If no one else around toss balls for the dog(s). Sheltered cove so other than a real blow (a bit unusual for the Southern Oregon coast) just the sound of the waves. Can't get better than that ... well a full picnic lunch.

By Barb F |

So winding and cold one day and beautiful and warm next. Cold water but bearable. Excllent sunset. Easy access clean beautiful beach

By Dan C |

I love this place. The beach is gorgeous and the wave action and wind are breathtaking. It's not far from town, close enough to walk. The campground is superb. It's hard to get into in the summer, but it's so worth it.

By Christian P |

We decided to take a detour and travel further north to visit some Oregon beaches since our last beach day was fairly foggy. What a treat. Harris Beach is easy to access with multiple parking areas, a restroom and sand cleaning station and views, wonderful views and beach, wonderful beach!

By Neptuna |

We arrived while part of the campground road was being repaved so a loop or two were closed, but we found a site that met our needs. They have a range of sites, from the basic tent site with no electricity, to ones with electricity and others with electricity and sewer for the big RVs. We wanted electricity to recharge our phones and laptop, and ended up paying more for a cable connection! I have never seen a cable connection at a campsite, nor can I imagine what I needed to use it.

Getting out of our tent it is a wonderful beach front state park. The rock formations in the tide are beautiful and fun to splash around.

By Rebecca |

We were checking out the beaches in the area. This beach has great beach access and is ADA accessable. Public restrooms and a wonderful place for the family to play on the beach. Its also a good place to watch the sun set and snap a few pictures.

By Fleming R |

This is a very beautiful park right on the coast. There are many spots that have an actual view of the ocean and just about any in the A loop will provide that. We want to reserve one of the A loop spots for next year but it is pretty much impossible to do online. We are going to have to call and talk to the reservations people but I think these spots go quick. However, any of the spots in the park are great.

The park is in close proximity to downtown, with all of its amenities. The ocean is only a short walk away.

By Jana R |

You can easily park at one end of the beach. Walk a couple of miles down the beach checking out the tide pools, finding sand dollars, etc. Then come back along a trail to your vehicle. Nice way to spend a couple of hours if you like walking along the beach and don't want to be right on the highway.

By krwhome w |

The place is beautiful I happen to be there on a beautiful sunny day if you have not been there do stop

By evebernard1981 |

Camped here for one evening. The site we were on was small, the rest were a nice size. The camp ground is clean, large and has several hiking paths. One leads to the beach and is not a long or difficult walk. The beach near by is beautiful and at low tides has tidal pools where you can find all kinds of cool critters including hermit crabs, fish and other small sea life.

I would stay here again.

By Darel M |

Easy access to the beach via a short trail. Nice photo ops with many sea stacks. Was not there at low tide so I don't know if there is access to tide pools

By roguedenise |

They have recently revamped this park and have taken most of the fun out of it. Squeezing as many sites as they can right next to each other. Cramped. Road noise was horrible and it’s been over run with skunks! We had one walk right by my chair! Luckily the dogs did not take notice. Park worker told us that since the recent construction they basically just given them open range through the irrigation systems and with no predators they’re taking over the place. Unless you’re staying in an RV or a yurt close to the waters edge as possible I would avoid going there.

By letlieh |

Great views and sunset was awesome for picture taking. Bring sandals or bare feet as you don't want to get sand in your tennis like I did!!!

By SuzJim |

Nice park. You can see the ocean from some of the spots. They sell firewood for $5/bundle. The sites are large with good sized area for picnic table and fire ring. They are long enough for 30ft RV and tow car fitting nicely. all sites are back in. Very wet due to rain all night and previous days. But a nice place. Lots of walking and biking opportunties. Beach access and very pretty sites. Laundry within 4 miles. Shopping near by, post office, and Goodwill for books a couple miles away.

By queensusie1227 |

Great place to walk, play in the sand or even go camping. It can get quite crowded. There is a place to wash the sand off your feet. Bathrooms are clean

By M6774XMchristopherc |

Very well maintained park with beautiful views right off of the highway. Lots of tables, beach access, and bathrooms.

By Eric L |

Took our first camping trip of the year and came here to avoid the crowds that will be here later this month and throughout the season. I looked at some of the reviews about traffic/mill noise...it was a bit bothersome but not enough that I wouldn't return. Clean bathrooms are great....the camp site was nice, somewhat private. It was pretty windy when we went and it didn't really effect us back in trees. If your tent camping and they're predicting wind stay back in the trees. We really loved it's close proximity to town. Best of both worlds.

By Lainers60 |

Camping here is wonderful.Clean bathrooms and showers.Friendly camp ground hosts.Rangers are great too!!! Highly recommend reservations.

By John C |

Great beach lots of sea creatures and beautiful beach lots to do if you like looking after high tide

By 4theride |

Lovely area to walk and enjoy the ocean views. There was plenty of easy access parking. Be prepared to jump over water and logs if you walk to the right.

By americagirl22 |

This campground is located right above Harris Beach which makes it easy to walk down there for sunrise or sunset.

We had a very very spacious spot all the way in the back which was elevated a bit and surrounded by tall trees. But I also saw a lot of small site where you had to camp on gravel.

By Ernie S |

On our first driving trip to Oregon we crossed the border from California and looked for a quick rest stop for ourselves and our two terriers. By complete luck we discovered that there was a pretty beach just across Highway 101, so we had to check it out.
What we found was Harris Beach State Park, well at least the beach part of it. One of the prettiest beaches we visited in a trip that spanned the West Coast, this was a total surprise.
On a Labor Day Weekend we had this sandy, surfscape all to ourselves. It didn't seem possible. If this beach was in central California we would have had to fight for a parking space. Instead we explored the cliffs and dunes, soaking in the sun and glorious solitude.

By Jeff G |

What a beautiful place! Coming from the land of rocky beaches (Washington), this place was absolute paradise. The beaches were sandy, the views beautiful and the kids (ages 11 and 13) loved it. We camped at the park in site B20. One of the bigger sites, we loved lounging around in it. Only negative, which has been mentioned here before, is the noise at night from the Lumber Mill. Not sure how it sounds in other loops, but there are not quiet nights - the Mill runs all night. Lots of beeping trucks and loud thumps throughout the night. I am a light sleeper and woke often, however the other three members of my family did not hear anything.

I would definitely come back to this area even with the noise. We stayed 4 days and could have stayed a few more. Also great access to Redwoods, about an hour away.

By Michele C |

Our favorite little tourist beach!!! Camp ground is amazing but tends to book up. Must make reservations well in advance

By Al C |

Stopped by here on our 101 trip and loved the beaches and state park, camping nearby with miles of beaches and rocks to explore. We will be camping here in the future for sure.

By AlohaHB |

Great campsite! Free hot showers & bathrooms are clean and maintained daily. My son enjoyed the playground at the campsite. You can walk to the beach and there are a couple of other hikes nearby. Brookings is nearby, 3 minute drive or easy bike ride with lots of shops, grocery store, bakery & a laundromat to name a few. Sites are a bit close together with trees/bushes dividing and our site backed the highway, we could hear some traffic noise but it wasn't overbearing at all and we couldn't see it, other sites were a lot better than that.

Beach was really windy when we were there! Sunset was gorgeous on the beach but crowded.

By J8963SAjamesm |

Harris State Park and Beach is one of Oregon's most scenic beaches. Its stands ready for anyone's photo op. For a day on the beach, with seashell and rock hunting, or checking out beautiful drift wood piles, or just meditation, you can't beat it.

By RicksterGlobal |

It is very clean. Has two nice trails to the beautiful beach. If you can get in the A section you will have a view of the ocean! No pet area, but pets allowed...

By LinFernV |

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Oregon. We go twice a year and its a family favorite. We camp at the state park and spend hours at this beach.

By Joel T |

This is an absolutely beautiful don't-miss beach with the island-rock formations typical of the Oregon coast.

By Jason S |

Nice beach great place to take children to explore during low tide. Plenty of starfish and other sea creatures.

By Judi S |

This is my third visit to this park. Today the waves were dramatic with the strong gusty winds. The rain just started falling it was stunning in its awesome beauty.

By Marcel H |

Worth the stop. Great views of the southern Oregon Pacific coast. Enjoy the views. We were there late afternoon when the sun gave this place some extra touch with the silver glittering on the waves.

By tsnyderwhite |

Beautiful location with family friendly beaches and tide pools to explore make for an amazing weekend trip or day trip.

By TonyaL84 |

This beach is one of the number 1 places to see on the Oregon coast. I always make sure that I make this stop on my way up or down the coast.

By Kelly G |

Smaller beach area but is always a great place to go. Touristy. Can be a tad on the windier side. Is not a great place to go in the water. Usually has some cool tidepools.

By TexasTravler45 |

we usually are so busy visiting family that we have not had time to do all the stops for this park, so it was nice to finally be able to complete the park.
There are about 6-7 stops for this 12+ mile park along hwy 101.
Most of the stops are an easy off and on and the views are great for the most part. I took some great pictures.
some of the stops require hiking and it can be strenuous in some cases.

By Teresa S |

We have stayed at Harris Beach several times on trips along the Oregon Coast. The Yurts are great fun to stay in. The beach is within walking distance and extremely beautiful. There is also a parking lot closer to the beach for those who have problems walking. Sunsets are great time.

By GhiaGirl |

Harris Beach State Park is a wonderland.
The campground is beautiful, tucked into the cool shadows of towering Douglas Fir.
The bathroom and showers are clean and well-maintained.
The campsites have a good amount of vegetation around them lending a nice bit of privacy.

The trails down to the beach are steep but not too strenuous. There are a few different trails--one leading down to the day-use picnic area beach, one leading down to rocky tide pools and one leading to a large main beach. Beautiful, litter-free and the added bonus of being pet-friendly! (Unlike many beaches in neighboring California which are especially NOT pet-friendly.) Our dogs (leashed, of course) enjoyed romping in the sand and hanging out with us while we soaked up some sun and watched the crashing waves of afternoon.

The tide pools (check charts for low tide) were fun to explore, full of anemones, shells, crabs, kelp and tiny fish.

The rangers all were very helpful and jovial.
I look forward to heading back to Harris Beach again and staying for a few more days. So much to explore there, and the park itself is relatively close to the city of Brookings, for supplies.

By Kevin Concolino |

I’ve stayed at Harris Beach State Park twice now and every time it’s amazing. The campground has multiple options to pitch a tent, hook up a RV, or stay in yurts. Both times we’ve stayed in the yurts and it’s been wonderful. The built it heater kept us plenty warm as we gazed out the oculus in the roof to see the clear night sky. Additionally it’s a short walk away from the beach, which provides everything from climbing rocks, flat patches of walking sand, to beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend staying here!!

By jeanette97524 |

In spite of the unprecedented snow storm, we very much enjoyed the coast and the beautiful sun and ocean.

By Darla W |

Great beach for pictures, beautiful sunsets, cooling down when town is hot or taking a walk. It can be windy and cold at times so grab a lightweight jacket.

By Carl D |

This beach is easy walking, with flat sand, and great rock formations to look at. The surf is pretty calm, and you can easily recharge your spirit.

By Steve Storm |

Great RV site!! Clean and close to the beautiful beach. Friendly Staff, clean bathrooms and showers.

By emilyoywu |

Great state park for camping. site very well maintained, flushable toilets, free showers, and walkable to the beach. dog friendly. Only thing is skunks and crows.

By rootbeers59 |

Open Beach, tide pools, creeks, swimmable, trails to explore, walking distance to town, shopping, groceries, medical ,fire and Police. very unique place , Awesome State Park ,full hook ups, tent camp, kids area and playground, full bathrooms,

By Larry M |

While traveling the Oregon coast line, we stopped at Harris Beach State Park to camp. It is close to the Oregon and California border. Very nice camping area.

By Miz L |

this is a great beach for running or having a BBQ. It is very accessible as the access is a switch-back ramp

By adventuresof_jade_ |

We stopped here on our drive from Gold Beach Oregon to Klamath California.
This is a beautiful park to stop for a nice picnic or just to take in some of the gorgeous views and the awesome seas stacks.
It was a clean and well kept park.

By Lisanne F |

This was a great Oregon State Park. Clean, great bathrooms with showers, and easy check-in and out. The beach was close and beautiful.

By jencook2003 |

We stayed at site #A24. It was the best campsite. It had the best view of the beautiful ocean. Campground was lovely. The bathrooms were clean and were even heated. The showers were hot and clean!! We went on an amazing hike down to the beach with our dogs. We will be coming back here, again and again.

By Joey C |

This beach has it all: beauty, great sand for barefoot walking, pretty rocks and plenty of driftwood, puddles for wading once the tide is out, a plethora of birdlife including pelicans once they arrive in summer, sea lions and otters. Campfires are allowed and dog walking is a favorite. If you're willing, bring a bag for picking up trash as you walk. While it's a clean beach there are occasionally those thoughtless picnickers who leave a trail. Harris Beach is an eighth mile walk from the Harris Beach State Park campground above it, and access includes a ramp for strollers and wheel chairs. The bathrooms are convenient and nicely kept; parking is ample. The only negative would be that when the coast is windy, Harris Beach is really windy!

By RMunsterman |

We have camped at Harris Beach State Park a couple of times over the last two years and we will definitely be going back! The campgrounds are beautiful and the campsites provide plenty of room. The showers are clean and spacious and are completely free! The campground also has a playground, which our kids love and a jr. rangers program, which we have not participated in. The beach is awesome with an area that is perfect for swimming and some great tide-pooling. The temperature gets chilly at night, but what northern coastal area doesn't? Our kids have not had a problem swimming during the day, although I find it too chilly to do so. The park rangers are friendly and helpful and the campground is clean and gets pretty quiet at night. We have camped here with young children, teenagers, and grandparents and everyone has loved it. Our kids have decided that this camping at Harris Beach State Park needs to become a yearly tradition!

By Teresacooks |

Amazing amazing beautiful and interesting beach. One of the most beautiful I have ever been to. Views and tide pools were both great

By TravelPaul2015 |

Stayed here in a TT. Lovely views and walks on the beach. Several RV sites have cable TV and some with ocean views!

By Gary P |

High demand park. Very clean and organized. Great views. The C sites over 10 are pretty close to the highway. Great hookups. Dog friendly. Fire pits.

By NathanGBroussard |

We have been staying in Brookings and go to this beautiful beech just about every day. Have watched whales here twice. A great place to spend the day with clean accommodations.

By Puffy L |

My son went there years ago and recommended we visit. Remember the movie the goonies.... well you can just imagine it happening right there. You can walk easily and climb on the huge boulders there and talks in the Panera,a

By Jason A |

Lumber mill located next door that operates all night. No relief from the noise at any hour. Your better off at any number of campgrounds on the cost.

By Jon / Judi S |

The beach itself is beautiful with a lot of rocks/boulders which add to the atmosphere. We walked the beach just with the purpose of being there for the sunset. As the sun went down more and more people appeared for apparently the same reason we were there.

By AKcabingirlA |

Great family fun beach. Perfect for all ages and fitness levels. Some prefer to sit and read in a self-made driftwood shelter, some prefer to walk the beach (high or low tide allows for this, but during high tide the distance of the accessible area is shortened by rock outcroppings), others prefer to run or swim.

Nature lovers will love this beach populated with seals (the pups are often left alone for long periods, but are not abandoned...they are fine, leave them be so their mothers will come back to them), albatross, small rolly-polly ball-like jelly fish, and sea stars. Very few shells can be found here, but sea weed does wash up on the beach.

Please be aware that beach fires are prohibited.

There is camping available, two good sized parking lots, a trail from Brookings to the beach, a ramp down to the beach from the lower parking lot, and a foot rinsing station along that ramp. Though there is a ramp, a wheelchair or stroller would be difficult to manuver through the sand on the beach at the end of the ramp. There are spots along the ramp where one can stop and enjoy the view.

By DN2021 |

Stayed a night in the campground and visited the beach. The beach with the rocks and sand was beautiful. At low tide we saw a lot of sea anemone and orange and purple starfish. The campground was pretty nice but a lot of the sites were on the small side.

By RetiredTravelerTN |

Parking was no problem on the September morning of our visit, and we were quickly down the path to the beach. This beach is a delight -- sand, large rocks, ocean waves, and (on our day) blue skies. We walked down the beach as far as the tide allowed as we talked with other visitors and watched children and families at play. This is a good place to linger.

By Erickson18 |

We stayed for a few days and used the park as a base to explore the scenic corridor. The beach itself is worth s visit and there is a great panorama from the Butte trail. The campsites were well maintained - great showers!

By deborah b |

Saw about 35 species in this area including tufted puffins, cormorants, murres, warblers, phoebes. Take your scope for the puffins and other seabirds.

By Barbara L |

We were at Harris Beach yesterday - one of our first sunny days after all the rain. We purposely went to take photos of the wild life (seagulls) and the ocean views. With the sun we did get some stunning photos.

By Mel L |

Clean, quiet campground with great access to the beach. They are doing renovations to improve areas which will be wonderful when completed. Host very knowledgeable and helpful. Great views! Quick access to town nearby if you need anything. Several geocaches located within which was a pleasant surprise.

By Valeri M |

Great place for kids and families. Very clean. Very beautiful. Lots to explore with our 5 year old. We stayed in Brookings and this was a very close drive. I hope to be back very soon!

By flyfisher199 |

Small beach area but a pretty view for picture taking . Big haystack rock. Nothing in the park is exceptional. Not a good beach walk area.

By Don H |

We always stop at this great state park that is well cared for and always busy. Be sure to walk down to the beach for awesome views of sea stacks.

By Barb S |

Just walked to one of the many small beaches here - lovely and warm on a sunny day. Few folks out compared to many other Pacific beaches. Many, many birds feeding too.

By shanecocean |

The walk in was a little rough but the beach is worth it. Smaller beach but we were here Friday of the fourth weekend and less then 15 other people around.

By KM K |

Very busy, good access for mobile impaired or walking with very small children. View is beautiful. Parking was hectic. The signage was fun with a picture and explanation of the sea creatures.
Bathroom availability was awesome.

By John S |

Trying to get a camping spot with a "view" of the ocean is a task. However; thru the websites you can manage this. 9 months before you want to go; you need to start your adventure with the Oregon State Parks website. That's the amount of time you're allowed to start your reservations. We wanted to go "Camping" in August 2020; so 9 months early I sat up to attempt my reservations. I finally got the spot we wanted on the third night. This park has numerous Camp Hosts "Volunteers"; and the park is cleaner then imaginable. We love it here. Site prices are reasonable; water; elec; and sewer are available as well. Generally most spots have water and elec.... The town of Brookings is just about 1 1/2 to 2 miles away. Beach front parking is limited and free; otherwise you must pay to park in the campground. Enjoy your upcoming summer in Oregon.

By Paula P |

We stayed overnight in a yurt. The yurt was large and roomy with a twin/queen bunk bed and futon couch. Nice porch with a picnic table and fire pit just steps from the porch. Restrooms nearby and clean. Also liked the dishwater drain for clean up so that you know where to toss your grey water. Park is well maintained. Meet a couple of very nice park hosts. Nice trails to the beach which has large rocks just offshore.

By keen72762 |

What a wonderful state park. Yes it is close the hwy and you do hear hwy noise depending on where you are. The park is very well maintained and modern. Free showers. Great sites with lots of privacy. The beach is AMAZING. Such a beautiful beach with tidal pools.

By Bob M |

Great place to walk on the beach, take photos and just relax and enjoy the sunshine. It's just one of our many beautiful beaches here on the southern Oregon coast.

By GWushington |

Quick Tips:
*Bring a sweater and pants if you get cold easily
*Great place for some beach fun
*easy to access parking next to beach.

When asking a local 21 year old bartender what she did for fun around here this was her answer. She also recommends going bar hopping up the Chetco (maybe next year)
It is extremely beautiful here but like most of the OR coast it can switch from beautiful to windy and cold in a matter of minutes.

By signupscott |

Visited to watch the sunset and again at low tide to see the tidal pool areas. Both were amazing and wish we could visit again. Lots of creatures on the rocks and the sand was nice and clean. One of the best places for photos on the coast.

By Shelby W |

This was one of our favorite beaches, not only to walk along but to camp at too. The campground itself is great and is a short downhill walk down to the beach. The walk back up is a little more intense but you can always drive down to the parking lot instead of walking but it does close after hours. This beach wasn't crowded and had all sorts of eye catching things to photograph. Perfect for sunsets. We also went early in the morning when the tide was out and saw all sorts of starfish, fish, crabs, and all sorts of other typically unseen creatures. If you are traveling down the 101, def make this one of your stops!

By Kevin G |

Quick drive from motel/town. Nice beach with restrooms and ADA ramp. Nice easy walk to watch sunset. Was busy in parking lot but didn't feel crowded on beach.

By Out This Door |

Excellent state park! We stayed at Harris Beach SP over the Thanksgiving holiday. Many of the campsites were closed for the season which is was somewhat of a mixed blessing. On the plus side, it was not crowded--this would be a cramped park during the peak season. But because of the closures, we were not able to reserve a site with all the amenities we wanted. We still enjoyed the park though! It was clean and beautiful. Lots of trees and greenery. The RV site was spacious. The camp host and staff were friendly. The beach is amazing! The walk to the beach is very close and there's a spacious parking lot right at the beach along with restrooms. We walked out early for the sunrise and back again for the sunset. It was really lovely. The park itself is just at the north end of town (Brookings) so it's only a mile or two to the grocery store and lots of good restaurants. Dogs are only allowed on the beach with leashes (which is like demanding that kids not run on the playground).

By all access |

This is one of the best Oregon beaches we have stayed at..Clean & well kept up. Very well organized and every spot was nice. The first 7 or 8 are the best because they have a beach view. But all in all very nice the way they are set up. There are also Yurks in case you dont have an RV. I am betting these fill up quick because they are nice in size and also well kept. Definitely going back here real soon..

By Deborah H |

Nice RV park right at Harris Beach. Had a great time being right at the ocean. Nice people enjoying the beach

By OMG |

Extremely clean campground I will say better than the Blue Coast Inn close by. I highly recommend. This camp is almost always full so make sure you book in advance.

By Kris10AP |

I wanted to set up a beach chair and never leave. The views were amazing and it wasn't busy at all. It was dog friendly as well.

By Marie M |

If you drive 101 thru Brookings go to Harris Beach it will take your breath away. Large rock formations are on the shore line. Unusual pink rocks . Family friendly and pet friendly .

By Teresa A |

Beautiful sunsets at this beach location. Make sure you bring your camera!! You’ll want to use these pix for screen savers!!

By Casey F |

This year, for my 38th birthday, my husband and I booked a yurt at Harris Beach State Park in Brookings, Oregon. We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon and met with our park hosts. They were extremely friendly and we chit chatted a bit before they gave us our key and sent us on our way. Oregon has been having major storms as of late, and we got there during a brief period of sunshine! Thanks to the weather, and it being the off season, we practically had the entire place to ourselves! This was my 3rd trip to the Oregon Coast and I have yet to be disappointed! The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful, even with the storms. All night, we could hear the waves breaking in the distance - just thinking about it now makes me want to return. Every single time I visit the Oregon Coast, it gets a little harder to come home to the desert. The grounds had been hit pretty hard by the storm, but our yurt was clean and dry. We felt like we were far away from the world, but it was a very quick 5 minute drive into town, where we filled up on our food to cook at our campsite each evening - we forgot the ice chest at home! My 17 year old stepdaughter was with us and while we had a good time, I must admit that I was a little disappointed to realize that we still had cell reception at our site. Needless to say, she spent almost the entire time on her phone inside the yurt. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone heading up or down the coast. My only other complaint was that the restroom and shower facilities closest to us were closed for the season, but the walk to the bathrooms wasn't too far, even in the pouring rain. These pics are of the ocean, which was just a short walk from our site. My 💜 belongs to the Oregon Coast!!!!

By bobA5207EQ |

Great views. About 5 miles away. Park and look over the cliff. Or walk down to the beach....just north of town.

By Kathy M |

This is another beautiful beach with rocks, breakers and a great place for a dog to snoop. We had a ball here.

By subithere |

Wear your helmet because path ends then you are riding on Hwy 101. There are bike lanes. Great place to stop for a nature walk and picnic at the beach.

By JoeSpag |

A nice stroll, beautiful morning and a cat nap with the ocean in background. What a gorgeous morning, clear skies, moderate weather and beautiful Oregon beach!

By Deanna D |

This place is one of the most beautiful places I've ever viewed the ocean at. The park has a campground with Yurts for rent and spots for your RV or trailer. Every spot is gorgeous surrounded by trees and the views are beautiful!

This is a beautiful beach and nice hike. The parking is sparse thou. There is an asphalt path which is steep from the parking area down, and it's a little steep at times. The scenic view is accessible at the top, but know view below is gorgeous. Was happy we stopped.

By Rae H |

This is a gorgeous state park which has walking paths, hiking trails and a stunning beach with many sea stacks. Tidepooling is great! There is no entrance fee to the park for day use. Restrooms and foot showers, for washing sand off feet, are available. There is space for RVs; we did not use those facilities so cannot comment on them. This is a highlight of a road trip from Nebraska to the Oregon coast.

By drifter1960 |

The rocks on the shore make for interesting crashing waves. There were a lot of box jellyfish on the shore to watch out for.

By Trina B |

We drove over early to check out the tide pools. It was a rainy cold day, but its never a bad day at the beach!! Its a nice hike down to the water, a little rough if you aren't in shape. Beautiful beach, the kids had a great time. I can't get enough of the Oregon Coast

By MrSmitcher |

Had a very nice 2 hours on the beach & climbing rocks, while keeping an eye on my wife & her broken toe. Lots of kids playing in the surf since it was a sunny 75 degree day.

This was our second summer to travel to Harris beach. We rented a Yurt which has become
our favorite way to camp. The camp sites are very clean, close to the ocean, close to the town to pick up
any last minutes things needed and a very quaint town. Can't wait to go back Summer of 2020.

By Laurie N |

We were lucky and got an amazing visit to this beach. 57 degrees and simply lovely!!! We did some beach combing and even found a couple of pieces of driftwood to take home with us.

By Kathy P |

I had remembered Harris Beach from a stay in the early 2000's, and was happy to find it again. Great place. Lots of spaces, but your space feels private. Great beach!

By Cathyann D |

A beautiful clean state park the views are just spectacular we spent our last evening here watching the sunset so amazing!

By DianaMcmartin |

We would definitely return to this campground. Our camp hosts, Carl & Shirley, were wonderful. We came here to fish the Oregon coast but ended up doing most of our fishing in California. Next time we return we will not buy an Oregon fishing license😬

By ORCRUISER |

Probably the most popular beach in Brookings. There are picnic tables and good paths to the beach as well as great parking to just watch the waves roll in. Good tide pooling to the south of the main access. Also a lovely campground.

By Tom P |

A beautiful park. Campsites are spacious. We are tent campers. Ended up sleeping in the car last night because of backup alarms and slamming noises from the nearby mill that went on all night. If you have an RV probably OK. Wish the Oregon Parks people had warned us. “Camping” has become parking the little house on wheels.

By jmbudihas |

Oregon parks knows what they are doing and each park I've visited is more outstanding than the last. we stayed a couple of days at Thanksgiving, in a camper. Hookups were 29 bucks for a site that had cable, water and electric. The tent sites were located towards the main road and seemed to collect water more easily than the camper sites. Extremely well maintained with all expected amenities. If you know for sure when your traveling make reservations as the 'beach front" sites are the first to go, they are also the windiest. Walking distance down to the beach and minute or two drive into town where there is a Fred Meyers... Biggest town south of Newport and last before California, get your gas in Brookings if goin' south it gets really spendy on the California side. Above all ENJOY!

By danielgale |

Yet another top notch Oregon State Park campground - great setting, very clean, nice bathrooms and showers, and nice paved paths throughout perfect for bike rides with the kids. The beach is a short walk away, accessible by trail or road. Great setting in a coastal spruce forest yet super close to town if you need something or want to explore.

Some of the campsites are pretty close to the highway, so if a bit of noise bugs you, choose the sites closer to the beach.

By imaginelove |

Great beach access and hike to town. We walked down to the beach and then around the corner before returning due to the tide coming in. Fabulous beach with lots of options.

By Robby G C |

At first we were exploring the beach. Quite comfortable walking on it.

Then we saw the massive boulders. We went immediately exploring these boulders. Some looked like a mountain.

Some people were exploring boulders on the ocean. That looked like fun!

There was some driftwood.

The boulders were different from each other. One looked like a mountain. We explored that as well!

There was some fog, still it was attractive!

There was a massive boulder with an opening, where the ocean could come freely.

We were able to admire lots of ocean creatures when the ocean was on low tide.

These creatures were beautiful! I walked to see more and more of these beautiful creatures.

This was my highlight that day!

This is a must see!

By alcor1922 |

It was a great coastal road trip from Crescent City, CA to Southern Oregon. Lots of excellent coastal view where you can safely park your car. Good hiking trails.

By Robin B |

We loved exploring Harris beach! The tide pools are great at low tide! So much sea life to see!! Plenty of parking as well!

By Lisa H |

We loved this state park - great beach, stunning panoramic view of the island hosting nesting birds, and possibly the best driftwood collection in the world.

By Jacksgrl |

Harris Beach is a clean, picturesque and convienent park. Just North of Brookings, right off 101 and on the ocean. The beach is amazing with lots of rock formations and great trail access.

By Kathy M |

Views both north and south were beautiful! Easy access to the beach. Bird Island is a National Wildlife Sanctuary so bring binoculars is you want to get a possible look for rare birds and tufted puffins.

By Lanamamaomaha |

As we ended our Oregon Coast journey southward, even towards the bottom of Oregon it was still an amazing view. The formations are just beautiful. How do huge "rocks" turn into arches? Just super to see!

By barb l |

We were out to spot the migrating whales. The beach area is clean and easy to manage. We didn't see any whales but maybe we were a week early.

By dolly572016 |

We love this park. We had to reserve way in advance to get the site we wanted. Nice folks, easy walk to town, beautiful weather.

By Sal P |

We love this place. This place is the definition of family fun. So much to see and so well maintained. This is a must see when traveling to the area.

By Dan L |

Nice family beach lots of room to roam and take pictures, lots of visitors with dogs, swimming is good but cold, good beach for a stroll and pics

By SMcoast911 |

I stayed at this State Park with my family in a 28 foot motor home. The site was clean and ready for our early arrival. The trail down to the ocean is challenging for older folks but the views are worth the walk to the overlook.

By Larry L |

This may be our favorite beach in Oregon. We live near Portland and have visited several of the north coast beaches. The beautiful weather contributed to our enjoyment. Beach access was very good. The beach was so great we added it to our "win the lottery" dream locations.

By A-Lucas-Rice |

We love Harris beach for all that it offers. They have ever camping option - from traditional tent sites to full-hookups for RV and yurts. This state park is always clean has great trails down to a great beach. The two draw-backs is the highway noise for sites in the far back and the challenge of getting a site on short planning.

By kpcamping |

This is a wonderful beach with several rock formations. The sunset from the bluff was beautiful. Try to go during the week less crowded. This was a dog friendly beach.

By Martha R |

We have a 27 ft fifth wheel. Our site, B26, was spacious, nicely wooded and not hard to get into. Although it was Labor Day weekend and the Park was full it didn’t feel overly crowded. We enjoyed the ranger talk about whales. We got to the amphitheater a little early and enjoyed the free popcorn and Rocky and Bulwinkle cartoons. The Rock beach trail was fun. We didn’t see tide pools there like we did at Lone Ranch beach, but then the low tide wasn’t very low.

By jenl |

This was a great stop!! Right off 101, easy to get to, nice bathrooms, easy parking - even a wheelchair/stroller ramp down to the beach. Great tidepools on low tide and lots of fun places to explore. We didn't camp, but would definitely camp here. Nice & clean family fun. You can walk the beach from the north end to the south end - the trail at the south end isn't marked well from the beach, so you need to pay attention - but you can walk from the south parking lot downhill to the north end easily...or you can walk the beach back, but you have to traverse a large, rocky outcropping. Watch out, though, during high tide, you may not be able to get back via the beach. We came back to this beach twice during our trip - beautiful!!

By Kathy |

We enjoyed our stay so much! The beach was so beautiful and we enjoyed exploring the tide pools at low tide. The overlooks to the beach were great.

The campground was well maintained .The bathrooms are very clean (however the showers could use a good plumber to repair and make adjustments). The water was very hot.

Nice bike paths into town.

We stayed in loop d, which is next to the freeway, so the road noise at night was our only complaint.

By Sarah H |

We happened upon this beach on our drive up the Oregon coast. Easy access, lots of parking, gorgeous beach. Uncrowded even on the warm, sunny day we visited. Good surf crashing against massive rock formations that rise from the sea. There is parking that directly overlooks the beach and a ramp going down, so even folks with limited mobility can enjoy it.

By BigChickenDinner |

Not impressed with the park facilities, but it looks like they are doing quite a bit of work on it. I'll revisit that later. The beach access is fairly easy, a bit of a steep downhill to get to the beach. The beach is large at low tide and there is plenty of room to spread out. If you dont mind walking through Harris Creek, there is more beach just to the north. Parking can be a bit limited on nice weekend days.

By Rosario_it |

Even though at the end of the long day we spend some time looking some panorama in the Harris Beach State Park.
We could see a lot of rock which made the views even more beautiful.
Anyway, we could not spend a lot of time because we need to arrive at our final destination before the reception of our bed and breakfast were leaving.

By Genevieve R |

Oregon has such beautiful campgrounds and Harris Beach is at the top of the list. Easy beach access from your campsite, accommodating staff, clean and quiet. Since we did alot of our meals in camp, we were bothered by the rather aggressive crows. Don't leave anything out in your site as it may be either gone or damaged. We stayed in #C15. Plenty of privacy in each site.

By john b |

The Oregon coast is so stunning and the views from Harris Beach are some of the best. Beach access is easy as well as ample parking. Great for a lunch stop on the way up the caost. Camping near bu also.

By 2013TravelinFool |

It is more beautiful than what you expect. It was another beautiful and weather was perfect! Spend some time here to enjoy!

By Shannon C |

I am lucky enough to live very near Harris Beach, so I get to enjoy it daily. This lovely beach and wildlife preserve is easily accessible and should be enjoyed by all!

By Bob S |

Coast line is beautiful - so many places to pull off or pull over to see the ocean and all of its beauty !
Just north of Brookings the waves hitting the rocks are incredible- smell of the ocean and you can take pictures forever !
Worth a stop of pull in if passing by !

By Jefff |

day use area and the view is great...kids ..people..dogs...kites..lawn chairs...nice place to relaxalways breezy and cool...even when town is 80

By Lulubay2013 |

Amazing views especially at low tide, so check the charts. Got to see starfish and other sea creatures.

By zigglovers |

Beautiful views and lots of driftwood on the beach. Hugh tree size driftwood covering the beach. My husband loved going down to the beach and exploring.

By Tyme4relaxing |

This was the only place we found along the Oregon coast where we felt it was safe to let the kids take off their shoes and roll up their pants and run along the shoreline. The big rock formation out from the beach stopped the big waves from reaching the shoreline. The water was very blue and was a bit warmer than the northern beaches. The kids had a really good time here. There is a parking fee or day use fee for this area. You can buy a $5 day pass or a better bet is an Oregon Passport, it’s a 5 day pass for most of the attractions along the coast and it only cost $10.

By Marty |

Oregon’s state parks are wonderful venues. Harris Beach is no exception. We’ve camped there twice and been pleased both trips. Plan on watching a sunset. Make sure to take your camera(s)

By bren2915 |

I visit this beach often and always take the trail less traveled and that is the first parking area and trail you come to as you turn into Harris Beach State Park. Travelers, if you pass that parking area and continue into the park you will find another beautiful beach with a wheel chair accessible ramp to the beach at the north end of the park as well as public restrooms. Across the parking lot from the women's restroom is a trail that winds around and up to a peak that has a view point at the top for a spectacular vista. At the stop sign just before the street drops down to the north beach there is another trail on the Ocean side that is a perfect sunset viewing point.

By SunsetSweethearts |

This is a beautiful state park. The campground is very clean and kept up. The beach is perfect for swimming and a nice spot for a bonfire. This is the BEST beach for watching the sunset and getting great pictures. Great for family vacations! The only problem with this park is that it fills up fast so plan ahead and make reservations.

By Djan29 |

This is just a beautiful beach to spend the day. We didn’t stay in the campground but it looks really nice and close to beach.

By Cindy V |

Love coming here either to walk on the beach, storm or whale watch. Parking lot up on top affords great views of the ocean and beach. Love eating lunch right in the car while watching for whales, or even just to watch the waves roll in. Days when I have more time, love to walk the path and feel the ocean air on my face for a few minutes. Located right off the Hwy so easy in and out.

By xxLauraAnnxx |

Harris Beach is a busy place! Many families and young couples visit. It is close to camping and it is off Hwy 101, so it is easy to find. It is a long walk to the beach on nice days because the lower parking lot fills fast an you may have to park 1/2 mile away and walk down (which is better than the return to your car which is UP a hill!) to the beach. Lots of sand area, so you won't be sitting squished in with other visitors.

By Shamus780 |

Took a few hours to wander around here and tide pool. Wonderful place to take pictures. Even saw whales in Sept. Best part of the day was the sunsets. Liked it so much, we came back 3 nights.

By Rivernectar |

Oregon's coastline is pretty rocky and often less-than-accessible. However, this beach is wide and sandy, with tide pools available at low tide. I also hiked up a trail (steep but pretty short) that begins at the upper parking lot, to look out over the whole beach. Great place to spend the day!

By Karen P |

We have stayed here before and fell in love with the natural beauty of the surroundings. Right now the State is doing some najor upgrading on the sewer and installing hookups in more of the RV sites. In summer you almost always have to have a reservation to get in. We were there on a Sunday night and the campground was pretty well packed, but they did have some sections closed. There is also a playground for kids, yurts, RV and tent sites. Plus a short walk to the beach and a short drive into the small town of Brookings. Its one of Oregon's best kept secrets and the gem of the S. Oregon coast.

By FlyFisherman42 |

Lovely beach. Lots of friendly people and dogs.
I walked along the waterfront. Had a room with this view. I sat on my balcony enjoying the sounds, smells and sight of the water.

By Maite |

Great campground, ideally located. You need to book though. Walking distance to wonderful beaches. The shower for the feet outside the restroom in the state park near the beach is a plus.

By catmom27 |

We were there for the sunset, and wish we had planned a little more time to explore. Big, wide stretch of beach with big climbable rocks that provide a perfect perch to watch the sun go down over the water. We weren't the only ones with the idea, but it didn't feel crowded in the slightest.

By Chris B |

I proposed to my wife at this beach in 1990, so it holds a special place in our hearts,
The beach is located just north of Brookings and has lots of parking. The state has cleaned up all of the graffiti which seemed a perpetual presence in our youth. There are bathrooms and handicapped access ramps to the beach.
The beach itself is clean and well kept. The views are gorgeous and some of the best the Oregon coast has to offer.
If you take a small trek to the south you will find an arch rock and tidal pools with anemone , starfish, hermit crabs, and other assorted sea critters.
I definitely recommend spending an afternoon here.

By Kerry M |

My partner and I returned to camp, to walk the beach, to relax. I was struck by the vast, openness of the beaches and by the ease with which we could be alone despite the summer visitors.

By mevice |

Stopped at this beach with my grandson and great-grandchildren. Wonderful and relaxing. Kids played in the sand and adults just watched the beauty of the ocean.

By Ali K |

Love Harris Beach! It was rainy this time we went. However, it is a incredible place whatever time you go!

By Amy B |

I bring my daughter here with her friends and they have a ball playing on the beach and in the water!

By Alison S |

We camped for the night at the campground which offered clean facilities and good-sized tent sites. The beach is down a trail from the campsite and is very scenic and interesting. Lots of driftwood on the beach. When the tide is out, tide pools offer a glimpse of marine life living in the ocean.

By hikuku |

Went to walk the beach, as I love to, but this one is for dipping your feet into the ocean. Very tiny shoreline, rocky and short coast. But clean, dog-friendly, but not one to take long walks on.

By TravelinGal16 |

Relax watching the waves was interesting. Geological views. Good for casual stroll letting the children stretched their feet.

By kashkew |

My friend and I traveled here for the beach. It didn't disappoint. Loved the views and the waves plenty of drift wood to build with:)

By Beingamomisthebest |

We wanted a place to stay 3 nights. Fortunately, there was an availability for our first night.

The tent site was ideal and one of the originals. The ground was even and the the sites were private with a good amount of space in between each one.

The showers and bathrooms were very clean as were the grounds. We were disappointed to leave!

The beach was beautiful and, in the evening, had jelly fish sprinkled throughout. They looked like a piece of glass. They were so beautiful. Fortunately, they are small and there was plenty of room to walk around and away from them.

We’ll be back and book a year in advance!

By Sunseekergirl77 |

We stopped in here to check out the beach and let our girls stretch their legs and run for a while. I timed the visit for low tide, hoping to do some tidepooling. We looked everywhere and were not able to see anything, that was a bummer. The kids still really enjoyed playing in the sand and running in the surf. Lots of steps to get down to the beach. Decent restrooms and places to wash off all the sand. There were not too many people there.

By Pamela T |

You can't go wrong alone the Oregon Coast for beauty and long, sandy beaches. Greenery goes right to the edge or the sand at times, feelings tropical if it weren't for the cool weather (and water).

By Angie C |

This park was easy to get to and not crowded. A real gem. The scenery is beautiful and the smells of wild flowers were all around us. Loved it!

By Diane G |

Spent some time here. Some sites have a view of the ocean. Very clean bathrooms. Staff friendly. Enjoyed it very much, will return.

By Sheekha S |

Oregon coast can't and won't disappoint you. Make sure you are prepared for rain. It was rainy and gloomy when we visited in September here.

By T s |

I cant imagine traveling on the busy Oregon coast in Summer. My month long trip was in the El Nino Fall of 2015.
Brookings is a nice little town with just about everything one needs. Some great thrift shops and little eateries, even a small music store make up the main st. in dowtown.
I camped at Harris Beach for a week or more. Because it was Fall, camping was first come, first serve. No need for reservations.
The beach is very picturesque .. It can get quite crowded at the State Park.
Great family destination.

By RAM1959 |

They are revamping the RV sites. We just drove in for a look see but we will def be back to camp and explore the area more.

By LegalEagle0907 |

Very easy to get to and a nice beach front park with great views. We will be back again next time we visit.

By TCW |

This park is so clean and modern! We love that it's right on the beach. The showers are spotless and they Don't require quarters like CA state parks, they believe in cleanliness. All of the staff are ready to help or answer questions. They have evening programs, we went to the one on Bats, so informative. The only con we experienced was not able to get any TV reception from our antenna tv but we had DVDs and of course flickering campfires. We will Definitely be back!

By Passport62418066546 |

I really liked this beach. It's great for walking and has lots of interesting rock formations to explore. I also really appreciated that it is a very clean beach.

By Jeff R |

We camped here for 4 days in a fifth wheel trailer. What a fantastic experience. The park is located just off highway 101 in Brookings, OR on one of the most scenic beach settings ever. The campground itself is incredibly clean and spacious with full hookups, several modern bathroom/shower facilities and a playground. It's a short walk to the beach where you'll find stunning views and gigantic Bird Rock. Seagulls, shorebirds and seal lions abound in this area. Very nice for families and couples.

By ljmcnally75 |

So beautiful along the ocean. Lots to look at and people watch. Good hiking trails. Worth taking a look.

By Living the dream |

Adequate parking, good walking path down to the beach, ocean is a good place to walk and enjoy sites and sounds that make me feel relaxed and restored.

By Kevin T |

Stunning views, great beaches! This is a must if Pacific coast parks are on your bucket list. High tide is spectacular for the tidal surges, low tide for great exploration, and in between...by all means, wade in knee deep just to feel the sand drawn away from beneath your feet.

By Bill |

A beautiful spot to just relax and take in the scenery. I enjoy stopping there whenever I go to the coast.,

By Tigertina28 |

This is a beautiful place to stay. It’s is very clean. The bathrooms and showers are very nice. I would recommend this to everyone and I would definitely come back for a longer time

By wallace s |

The southern Oregon coast, as is much of the areas surrounding the coast are magnificent, beautiful and awe-inspiring. Clean beaches, forever views, haystacks standing as sentinels along the beaches, and surf and out into the ocean, are a dreamscape with visions of eternity. The trees, and foliage, add to this visual journey of mind and spirit.

By DCII |

The staff at Harris Beach State Park campground is very helpful and friendly. This is a very nice park, very close to the ocean, nice shaded level RV sites, many with hookups. They are unfortunately doing away with the cable tv service they had at a number of sites due to issues with the service. The park is just outside of Brookings which is very convenient. We would absolutely return.

By May Ann T |

There are a lot of beaches to visit nearby, but Harris Beach definitely stands out. You can spend a lot of time walking around here. It’s really beautiful!

By heidiharris19 |

This is a great place to experience the Pacific in its rugged beauty. We even saw some nesting birds on nearby islands. Highly recommend visiting here.

By TexieraL |

As far as beach access parks go Harris Beach is quite splendid. The beach is clean and the camp ground is well maintained. We have stayed here several times. The campground gets booked up fast so make reservations well in advance. The wind picks up in the afternoon and get can very gusty.
There are some great trails to hike or bike on.

By CathyP1953 |

We were driving north on Highway 101 and saw this beautiful piece of Oregon coast. Breathtaking views were enjoyed by all. The wind was extremely brisk as we climbed among the rocks. The water was glistening a teal blue color and was just inviting us to stop and explore. After visiting for quite a while and taking many pictures, we said our goodbyes to this beautiful beach!!!

By hopeful1995 |

Came here with family while visiting in Brookings. Nice little beach with majestic views of the ocean and rocks.

By Craig M |

This is a very nice place to stay in our RV. The campsites all so close to each other have bushes in between so that seems quite private. Short walk down the hill to a beautiful beach. Even has cable TV available.

By Kara Skye |

The beach and surrounding area are fun to explore and photograph. The camping has full and partial hook-ups and tent camping. Laundry facility and hot showers. A 12 mile walking/biking/running (paved) trail takes you to downtown Brookings.

By DidITellYouThis |

On recent Oregon coast trip, we hit this beach first. Spectacular views. Unlike anything we see on the East Coast!

By katmandoobie |

If you have an RV or a family & you're looking for a place to get together with clean showers & a beach nearby then this is the campsite for you.
It was exactly as it says on the tin.

We booked in here because it fitted in with our itinerary & timescales (roadtripping down the 101). However, we would have preferred a much quieter, secluded campsite really.
We can't fault this one for what it was though.

The beach is a short walk away and it's a really nice beach too. We went fishing and wandering and watched a beautiful sunset over the rocks.

Nearby Brookings wasn't particularly nice though. Big, noisy and ugly. Apparently Bandon is much nicer but then it depends what kind of thing you like, really.

By Kathleen D |

Easy path down to the beach, beautiful topside pullouts to take in the ocean view. Can't speak to the campground (I'm a local!), but it's one of my favorite places to watch the ocean or walk my dog (on a leash, of course!)

By delalis2 |

The beach is beautiful with artful driftwood structures, ocean rock formations, easy trail access from the very clean campground which filled by evening. The bathroom facilities were close to camp sites, the showers roomy with no apparent time limit, all very clean. Our site was open, spacious, flat with a typical picnic table and small fire pit. The fee was reasonable but the highway noise from traffic and construction was loud throughout our stay. (Don't know if this noise level is typical.) Friendly people, quite a few with pets. It was a nice stay despite the noise.

By robertdT7335RA |

We pulled in here on Saturday morning when the weather was 40 mph wind and steady rain and it was still beautiful. The campground (RV's) in the upper area was nearly full 2 days after thanksgiving and in horrible weather. The park area isn't all that big but the views are unreal, the birds the islands and the beach are small but worth it. Also day use seemed to be free and if the weather was nicer there was a picnic/tent camping area in a thick pine grove that looked very inviting.

By Kiley W |

We visited Memorial Day weekend, 2022. We read the previous review about transients and thefts and were kinda nervous to come thinking the whole area was going to be one huge homeless camp. It was not. The campground was beautiful and incredibly clean. The bathrooms and showers were clean and noodle-free. We did not leave anything out when we left camp (chairs/grill/cooler all packed away) just in case of theft but tons of other people had all their stuff out. We did see transient people walking around the area (not in the campground though) but I’ve never been to the coast and not seen them. When we checked in the ranger said the showers were locked from 8pm to 7am. Maybe that is a new rule. We did not see anyone in camp or driving around the camp ground that seemed suspicious or sketchy. We felt safe.

This is a really great campground. Most of the sites have hedges between them so you have a natural barrier between you and your neighbor. The driveways are paved and fairly level. If you are by a playground probably expect at least 20 kids at a time to be screaming all day long. If you don’t have kids or want to listen to that all day try to put some distance between you and the playground. Plus, the sites by the playgrounds are not super private.

By CTBCalifornia |

Best campground I've stayed at in years. Well kept. Great amenities. Super helpful and friendly campground hosts (Feb 2017 whoever they were then).

Excellent coastal walks, picnic area, scenic vistas, day use area too.

By Bill A |

For a city state park, this is an exceptional offering. There are overlooks, terails and you're almost right in town!

By ThereSheGoesAgain |

This beach is so pretty! The campground is across the street from the ocean and has 2 trails (maybe more) down to the beach. Expect to walk down a pretty steep path the the beach- not a big deal(picture below). The campground itself was clean and the spaces provide a good amount of privacy compared to other beach camping we've done at home in southern CA. The bathrooms and showers were so clean- cleaner than the KOAs we stayed in on this trip. It's so convenient to have the town close by also. I will stay here again.

By Susan L |

We have been here many times when vacationing. So gorgeous! There is a ramp to get to the sandy beach and a terrace area with seating. It was fun to watch the young people play a beach game and to watch people with their kids and dogs enjoying the beautiful day.

By UnrepentantFoodie |

Beautiful place to camp on a ridge overlooking the Pacific. Well managed and clean. Good spaces with tables and fire pits, most with dappled light so one gets trees while enjoying the sun. One row has the ridgeline view. And among other amenities, there's a nice playground for small children.

Though at this precise moment there's quite a bit of work going on to repair winter damage (extensive this year all over Oregon), it was understandable and not distracting, and the park will be all the better for it by mid-summer.

Would definitely make a point of going back.

By Snyder R |

Beautiful park and ocean views. Checking it out for future camping trip. Nice area and good campground

By theelliebadge |

The campground is right beside the ocean and you can fall asleep to the sound of waves in your tent if the motorcycles and semis stop passing through, which is about ten minutes or so at a time all night long.

By NKMRenoNV |

A lovely beach just north of downtown Brooking Oregon. Walking trails along the bluff and up the hill behind it. Picnic tables, bathroom with shower and changing area. Good kite flying spot also. There is also camping there. I don't know if noise from the highway would be a nuisance if you were camping perhaps the ocean noise would drown it out.

By HCRHCR |

March 31st! We drove 4.5 hours from camping the coast because of trp advisor reviews. What a let down!! Trip advisor had it totally wrong. This place is totally understand construction. When the park shut down for the day the sawmill started. We are out. There are SO many better parks up north. Don't waste your precious spring break time.
Kids said the park was fun. The view is tremendous, but need a tad more than a view. That was the one star. Also, the weather is nice, in a banana belt.

By Susan B |

The lumber mill seems to be running really late. I wonder if it runs all night it is 9:40 and I am really ready to go to bed. Unbelievable noise. I will never stay here again

Beautiful beach. Super easy to access. I almost skipped this one along my PNW roadtrip, thinking it was just a nice beach but more interesting things to see. So glad we stopped! It was of course a beautiful beach with lots of interesting rock formations. But additionally, we walked out to the left towards some rocks and saw so many star fish and other creatures. You could keep going and see waves crashing through an arched rock. We could have spent way more time here

By Rob D |

This is an easy to get too beach near town. There is plenty of room for people and all kinds of driftwood. Maybe check for a geo cache or more in the area. This is a very popular beach to watch sunsets.

By P H |

I think we took every turn out for every scenic view in the park while traveling north - and every stop was more beautiful than the last. Take your time - it’s worth it!

By Randy K |

Super-beautiful campsites, minimal outside privacy.
Great showers and very clean restrooms!
Easy access to the spectacular beach.

By NanaPops |

Great spot to stop for a picnic or beach walk when driving 101. Has beach access for wheelchairs. Great area for sunsets or day trips.

By porsche74s |

This place is a nice walk, at least when the weather is nice. Can be windswept and cold in the winter months, we've been here at all seasons. The summers are the best time to visit.

By Damon L |

I love how close this campground is to the beach. It is in a good central location to explore the southern Oregon coast and Northern California. A good stop over place.

By Che'ri F |

Beautiful view for photo taking! Stopped here to get some pics and ended up staying a couple of hours..

By Jan B |

Such a beautiful and dramatic park. We have been twice in the past 5 days to watch the amazing waves caused by the winter storms!

By Mary Lou H |

We live about a mile from this beach. It is so relaxing to walk along the beach looking a driftwood and sometimes if you are lucky some shells. The beach is clean. And they have shower facilities and clean bathrooms. Just a lovely place to visit and it's FREE

By Quest690167 |

We love Harris beach as a family. It seems that even though it's right next to Brookings Harbor, often the wind and the weather is different. We switch back-and-forth between the two. Harris beach is beautiful, relaxing and fun. If you prefer to camp there is an attached campground in a wooded area.

By kamikaze316 |

If you snag a campsite like we did in mid-week, you will really have a great camping experience. The sites are semi-private, pretty greenery surrounds, lots of areas and trails to hike, easy walking or driving distance to super good restaurants. We love to cook at the camp site but chose to walk to O'Halloran's, a very good fish and steak house. If the fog rolls in, as it frequently does, be prepared to build a roaring camp fire and bundle up. Reservations are a must in summer.

By Becky M |

One of our first beach stops. Absolutely beautiful! Nicest restrooms on the trip too. I was blown away by the size of the park. The views were breathtaking and we found ourselves there for far longer than we thought we would be. There was a ramp/walkway all the way down to the beach. Perfect for early morning or evening walks. I loved this place!

By hotdishgraf |

We were lucky to travel the week we did. Basically only people on beach. Fantastic views, make sure to take your camera. We wandered and explored for hours.

By steve g |

Nice and clean camp grounds. Bathrooms and showers were the some of the best I have seen. Short walk to a beautiful beach.

But......it's close to the 101 alright! By O'dark thirty (430/500 am), you will get a nice wake up call from lumbering trucks and Harley's. By 700 am, we decided to pack up and leave. It could have just been our spot, but when it was hard to speak to each other over the traffic noise, we had enough.

It's worth to stop at the Day spot for the beach.

By Teresa W |

We enjoyed watching the sunset at Harris Beach and climbing over the rocks to see the arch through the rock on the other side.

By LB J |

Nice easy check in. Nice overlook and access to beach. Clean restrooms. But $35 and have to pay extra for shower? Bring your quarters. No soap dispenser to wash hands. Bare minimal of services perhaps because of off season. Spaces are close together that you can hear the neighboring site's conversation. Ok, but not great. It's the last state park to offer electric if you're headed south into CA.

By Wanda H |

Stopped in here with family, on our way north and was very pleased. It's a clean and pretty beach, good for walking. Lots of good information too! Would love to come back here and camp sometime.

By Brenda T |

Quick walk down to the clean beach. Rocks and crashing waves . Beautiful sunset. Good parking and easy access.

By Jennifer |

We came for the split rock. The beach was clean and not over crowded. There were lots of wild life to see (crabs, octopus, etc.) all from the rocky areas.

By De'De' N |

One of Oregon's true treasures. Beautiful, clean beaches. Well kept campgrounds.Campground has yurt rentals, clean restrooms, showers and on-site laundry facility. Campsites feel very private as most are surrounded by hedges. Many bike and walking trails.Great place to watch a the sunset over the ocean.Easy access to Brookings restaurants, hotels, port.

By Joan M |

Do not miss this if you visit the Oregon coast....One of the most beautiful places on the coast, and you can camp there if you are lucky enough to get a reservation.

By CABABA |

Beautiful beach with rugged boulders make for a dramatic setting. Very nice campground as well as day visits. In October there was no fee!

By Carl D |

For the sand lovers there is a large expanse of flat sand readily available. For those who love watching the waves pound against the rock formations, that too is in abundance. We always stop here, and recommend a visit.

By Allison |

This is a great beach with just a little walk to feel the sand between your toes! The bathrooms are always clean. Tide pools and plenty of flat beach area.

By textractor |

One of those wild ones. Amazing sunset. Easy parking. Once side is more of a hike to get to, with lots of driftwood. The other is much easier, with ramp.

By Pattylonzo8 |

great facilities, spectacular view, excellent for camping and hiking, awesome beach, next to 101 highway, and near town, be ready with you camera to capture incredibles pics anytime just loved it

By OregonHikingMom |

We had reserved a spot in the B loop for tent campers for 5 nights. However, the noise from the nearby lumber mill lasted well into the night, and we had a hard time sleeping.

The campground and beach are lovely, well maintained and the staff is great.

I would have rated 5 stars, except for the noise.

By wanderingfamily |

We spent two days tent camping here with 2 kids. The site was spacious and had nice tree coverage. There were some RV sites overlooking the bluff that had nice views but the campers said it got a bit cold. We were up the hill enough that we didn't get the strong ocean breeze. Nice bathroom/showers. Kid friendly but not an overwhelming amount of kids wandering around - nice balance. Very serene and was quiet in the morning when we stayed. Our site didn't have any road noise but that may depend on what loop you are in. Reasonable walk to two different beaches or drive down the short hill and park near the beach. Beautiful beach with some tide pools to one side. Brookings is very close for any conveniences - short drive or a bike ride away. I loved being able to take a very short walk and be up on the bluff looking out and along the coast. Will definitely be back!

By Whygoback |

Clean, quiet, private. We loved this place and hope to return. So convenient, well managed, terribly clean and best bargain off all palaces we stayed at in all their coastal states.

By Sue C |

Our family of 10 (2 grandparents, 4 parents, 4 kids ages 2 1/2 to 11 1/2)camped for two nights. We had 3 adjoining tent campsites, B10, 12 and 14. We were disappointed in our sites.....we had to pitch tents on gravel!! And, with the exception of B14, the tent area was right next to the fire pit! Also, the beach is quite a distance from the campground. For us older folk, that's not too good. We have camped at better campgrounds on the Oregon coast.

By YearoftheRabbit |

This is a beautiful view but the beach is kind of dirty. Well populated so not a calm place. Restrooms were dirty but that is the norm for a state recreational area in this region.

By Fabrics3 |

Went to Harris Beach with my visiting family and they loved it. Large rocks are so majestic and sand is nice and clean. Parking and bathrooms available.

By AppalachianAppetite |

Beautiful stretch of beach south of the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor with giant rocks stretching out of the ocean. Plenty of space to stretch out for a peaceful stroll. Flat rocks good for skipping into the ocean, sea life (sand fleas, crabs, etc.) found throughout the sandy shores. A lot of driftwood for writing messages in the sand, which is also good for assembling forts!

By Keith K |

Oregon has the nation's best state parks, and Harris Beach is typical of the quality. On a bluff overlooking the ocean, heavily treed, with sites separated by hedges and plantings. Nature trails, beach walks, and close to town. A great place to stay.

By Luis Principe-viajandUS |

Lovely nature, I think the photos speak for themselves, here are some of mine and if you want to see more they look for me as they travel in Oregon or travel in the state they want...
The only zqui problem is the permanent wind... but hey, I don't expect it to stop...

By Kathy V |

My husband and I just moved from New York to Brookings, arriving two days ago. We had to go to beautiful Harris Beach and let the ocean roll over our feet. This spot is so pristine, majestic, and unspoiled. Incredibly maintained by the rangers. It is winter here and we have places like this to ourselves, but come summer, the delicious vibes of sun and fun are intoxicating! We feel blessed to be here!

By Nadja K |

This is a nice beach with beautiful views. There's a paved path to get down to the beach, it's a steep walkway down/up and it's not an even pathway, but paved all the same. Saw several people with dogs on leashes, so I believe it's dog friendly. I look forward to going back!

By shehulk86 |

Gorgeous beach, with great walking at low tide. Big drawback is the people that ignore the "leashes required" signs and allow their dogs to terrorize one and all. Carry pepper spray.

By ColoradoBill |

Beautiful state park a few minutes north of Brookings. We went for the sunset as do locals and campers. Very easy beach access for people with mobility issues and enough rock formations to make it interesting to kids.

By Rachael E |

We continue to be impressed with Oregon State Park campgrounds. Harris Beach has excellent facilities, clean and quiet. Awesome playground if you have kiddos, free showers and super clean bathrooms. Full hookups for trailers, to yurts and tent sites. All amazing. The A loop has a few trailer sites with ocean views, and the back side of the C loop had gorgeous tents sites under a high canopy of evergreens. Lots of trails to a variety of beaches. Dogs everywhere!!! We let our dogs off leash on the beaches (posted to keep dogs on leash) but we didn’t have any issues with any other beach goers or park employees on the matter. What fun is it for a dog to stay on a leash at the beach anyway?!!!! We got some amazing sunset photos and hiked all over the trails and beaches. We have already planned a return trip for the spring!!

By Shamus780 |

We stopped here on a recommendation from a light house keeper up north. Nice place. Lots to do and What a place for sunsets..

By 33britta |

The park is very family friendly and has a lot of spots with full hook ups. Each spot has some privacy, however this park is always full so make a reservation if your picky or need more than one night. It is a long way to the beach from the camping spots.

By Darla B |

There is a nice overlook from the main road just as you are leaving the north end of town You get the view without the climbing.

By Terry W |

We were trying to get a little quiet time after my husbands heart surgery. They have repaved the roads and bathroom trails, added lights and have replanted some shrubs. They added ADA bathrooms. They took out the laundry, and I missed that, but all in all, it was a wonder trip. you don't have to pay for showers, they sell fire wood. Can't wait to go again.

By Kitty B |

Dynamic and varied rock formations, great for bird watching. Watch the tides as they change very quickly and getting caught on rocks is a very real possibility. Currents run strong as well. Very clean state park.

By Jackie69Gentry |

This place was very easy to get to. There is a large parking lot with a bathroom house and a ramp that goes all the way down to the beach. It was absolutely beautiful!

By Brian F |

Do your self a favour and check this place out. We just passed by and had to return and go back. Totally unspoiled!

By Charlotte P |

Went over to see the sunset. Incredible views as always. We walked the shore and climbed rocks. A must when you visit Brookings!

By Terri G |

Just returned from five nights tent camping at Harris Beach State Park in the B loop. There is so much to love about this park. The campground is in a wonderful setting adjacent to gorgeous Harris Beach. A few of the sites in A loop have incredible views of the coastline facing south. The campground is close enough to Brookings to be convenient, yet removed enough to still feel like you're in the great outdoors.

As is the case with all of Oregon's State Parks, the campground facilities are immaculate and the showers are hot, high pressured and free. Firewood is cheap ($5/bundle) and there are a multitude of beautiful coastal access points and hiking opportunities nearby (Boardman!). California State Parks could learn a lot about park management from Oregon.

So why only three stars? The downside, and it's a big one for tent campers, is the incredibly noisy lumber mill across the street which operates 24/7. It sounded like a freeway was being constructed. I appreciate that the lumber mill is a major employer in Brookings, but the noise generated by its operation throughout the night was beyond belief. I did notice that the noise was not as loud in the A loop.

I plan to return to this park for all of its wonderful virtues, but only in an RV parked in or near the A loop.

By Steven O |

We came here based on Trip Advisor reviews - and were not disappointed! Great beach to walk, and sea stacks to climb or ponder. Nice way to spend a sunny day, but I imagine it would be just as great in a storm as well - just watching the waves on the rocks.

By Badger344 |

My daughter and I stopped at this local favorite beach after spending some time at Lone Ranch Beach. The one thing we noticed immediately is that this spot is more developed. It had a large parking area and public restrooms, and a camping area nearby. It is, after all, a state park so no surprises there.

The beach was a bit more crowded than Lone Ranch but was still manageable since the beach is very wide. There are a few stairways that take visitors from the lot to the sand, which is convenient. The views are nice, though we preferred the ones at Lone Ranch more.

Harris Beach is a beautiful beach to be sure, but if you're looking for a more quiet and peaceful stroll then you're better off visiting Lone Ranch or another smaller beach. This one is popular with families and locals and it shows.

By Fred H |

This has become a popular beach and parking may be difficult at times, but it is a great place to take the children to the beach in Oregon. The restrooms and facilities are great, there is a campground, and you are close to Brookings if you need anything.

By Alisa G |

Harris Beach State Park is where I go to shoot sunsets. Often there are beautiful settings for what I want. They are inspiring and often, I use them to encourage others.

By Julie S |

This is a small beach, but beautiful! Enjoyed the easy access to the beach and close-by facilities. Climbed a rock thanks to low tide!

By MonocleTraveler |

Easy parking, lots of great hiking trails, good scenery, and right off the 101. Our favorite beach in the area. Oh and no day use fees - nice way to spend a day.

By David Z |

This spot is amazing! We got to stay in a gorgeous yurt for a discounted rate . So that was a big plus ! The yurt slept 4 comfortably . Our spot had a fireplace and clean restrooms right around the corner . My wife and I really enjoyed the quiet time set for our boys to be able to sleepy soundly . The camping area isn't on the beach which is a small bummer , but it is tucked away from the highway and most road noises . The beach is less than 5 minute walk , which you get access to free included in the camping fee .
All in all this place was perfect for my family . Hiking , fun on the beach , and great scenery .

By Paul B |

We camped at Harris Beach in our motor home about 10 years ago, and had great memories of the place. We were actually looking forward to a return visit on this trip down the Oregon coast. What a horrible disappointment!! They've obviously added sites, and have shoehorned people in wherever they can. This is a very popular campground, and unfortunately it's now become a prime example of how popularity and overuse create a downward spiral. Unless you really like camping about two feet away from your neighbor with absolutely no privacy, there are a lot of much nicer places to camp along the coast! (Or better yet, stay here at Harris Beach and leave the other sites less crowded....)

By redracer64 |

This is a great beach to go to. Easy access down to the beach...the parking can be bad when it is busy but it works. You can walk for miles when the tides is out.

By Rob973615 |

We stayed in the RV Park a number of years and always had wonderful stays. Walk to a great beach from your campsite or drive down to the day park. Beach offers sand and tide pools and is a great way to spend the day. Awesome views of one of the prettiest coastal areas. Recommended.

By TeamWard |

A great stop just outside of Brookings, beautiful views and good beach to explore, well worth a stop, even better if the weather is sunny, which it was when we visited in late July. Stop you won't regret it.

By travelbug2004 |

This is a great place to visit - very scenic. Lots of parking. Small walk down into the beach but there is a ramp to do so. Bathrooms close with area to wash feet.

By Lynn S |

This is a great beach for families. It's sheltered by the curve of the coast so it's not too windy. It's easily accessible with a ramp. There's a clean little creek running through it for kids to play in. It's small, but Brookings is remote enough that it's not overly crowded.

By Linda C |

Harris Beach is a favorite because it's easily accessible, has beautiful sea stacks, and has an ever-changing beach to explore. You won't find sea shells or many agates here, but it is great for families, couples, friends, and solo dog-walkers. It's a good place for viewing the sunset too.

By Katie W |

A pristine beach with dramatic rock formations, smooth sand, crashing waves, and gorgeous sunsets. A clean and well-maintained campground with spotless washrooms and showers, generous tent and RV sites, and all amenities. A friendly and knowledgeable staff, willing to help you with your every need. What could go wrong?
This: There is a lumber mill right beside the campground that operates ALL NIGHT. Metal grinding on metal, loud industrial noises, and the reverse-beeps of several vehicles. Constantly. All night long. We were flabbergasted. There is highway noise from the 101 as well, but earplugs would have been sufficient to blot that out. This was like trying to sleep in an operating blender with a car alarm going off at the same time. Exhausted, we had to shorten our stay. Find another campground in the area - there are plenty.

By Penny D |

When I selected this state park for our overnight visit, I didn't realize it was literally feet from the highway. It doesn't show this to scale on the reservation map, of course.

Even though there was thick vegetation, which was beautiful, and large Oregon cedars, which were also beautiful, the traffic noise was an issue, at least for our site. Luckily (or not) it was drizzling rain, which we heard on top of our RV overnight. This helped to dull the noisy highway. Disappointed in that.

The sites are nice, some have a beach view - ours did not, they were full when I booked months in advance. The next morning it cleared and we walked to the beach, which is close by. At first it was foggy and there were no views, but in a matter of minutes it cleared and the coast was visible - complete with haystacks, and a great beach.

Probably won't stay here again, but it WAS very close to the ocean.

By PHANTOM2008 |

Make a pit stop at Harris Beach a priority. Easy acess just west off of Highway 101 north of Brookings. There are several viewing levels plus a forested trail with great parking throughout. The beach is easy to walk or roll down a gently sloping and paved path to the south and a trail to the north. There are fabulous views everywhere you look, There is a surf breaking into a triangle behind wonderful sea stacks. Watch carefull for migrating whales. Driftwood accents the beach. Beware of rip currents, sneaker waves and don't turn your back to the ocean. Restrooms, benches, a camping park, forest trails and ever changing ocean views, Relax and enjoy!

By Lloyd O |

Been going to Harris beach for years ! Kids always have fun . Excellent day use area and overnight campground on upper part of park . Beautiful ocean scenery ! Day use is free ! Good beachcombing !

By jess4neal |

The campsites at Harris Beach are only a short walk to the beach. The campsites were clean and well maintained. I felt like the campsites were private, even though they were not very large. The campground host was very pleasant. Harris Beach is beautiful! For a state park, these bathrooms were very clean! I would definitely come back here! Absolutely beautiful!

By Tanner |

Arrived several days ago and was immediately warned by ranger staff of constant thefts at Harris Beach recently - told to keep everything stored in vehicle or locked up!

Have been to Harris Beach for 20+ years and have never seen the park with so many homeless & transients occupying campsites and wandering around.

During a walk on the South Beach Trail, found a glass 'crack pipe' in plain sight. Neighboring campsite walked their dog and was attacked in C Loop by a pit-bull dog from the transients.

Entered the B Loop bathroom and one shower stall had noodles clogging the drain from cooking in the bathrooms at night.

As soon as nighttime falls, transients walk into campsites and are driving around the campground in ratty cars. No rangers to be seen after 5pm.

Harris Beach needs to get a handle on these issues before the campground starts looking like downtown Portland after a riot - sad because Harris Beach SP used to be a great park.

By Nancy S |

Nice beach for stroll. Bring a jacket and bag for your finds. Beach is dog friendly also you can build fires with all the driftwood on beach.

By runnerwitt |

This was one of the most outstanding Oregon State Park campgrounds! After spending two weeks staying in Oregon State Park campgrounds we finally came to this gem. The staff was friendly and the camp very quiet in spite of being very full. The yurt was clean, the showers had incredible water pressure and the whole campground immaculate. The beach was amazing and well worth the visit.

By Ventura_Surfer |

I love this campsite! We booked a full hook-up site, A7, it has an ocean view and has plenty of room. The hiking is spectacular and the Oregon coast is a sight to behold. I highly recommend it.

By L M |

Excellent place to spend the day, beach combing, picnicking or just relaxing in the surf and sand. Beautiful views from the road and parking area as well.

By EarthyNP |

We love this place. It is beautiful, clean, safe, and convenient. Located only 1 mile from downtown Brookings, Oregon, it is a state park with full RV hook ups. Sites are wooded and not too close to each other. Easy walk to the clean beaches and to downtown, where there are a number of nice restaurants and shops downtown. The harbor is about 2 miles away. Some of the sites are located close to Hwy 101 and we were in one of those. A little highway noise, but not bad. We had a little difficulty backing into our site as it was tight, but doable. We have a 26 foot trailer with 2 slides. All our neighbors were friendly and willing to help by moving vehicles if needed. Bathrooms are pristine and the hosts are friendly and happy. Great for dog and human walking. Cannot wait to go back and see the gorgeous sunsets.

By ChitchatCanada |

We made a stop here on our drive exploring the Oregon Coast and it was such a wonderful area. The views of the coast here are so scenic, and if you have the time make the walk down to the beach. It is a well established, paved ~0.5 mile trail down to the beach and it is so beautiful and picturesque once you get down there....naturally it is a more difficult walk to get back up to the parking lot but it is so worthwhile.

By Pattylonzo8 |

Its getting better and better every time I go this place just love it you can get stunning shots in here it’s peaceful and relaxing also the trials are good mantened It’s near town and very accesible, just remember that it close at 8....

By Sondra K |

Lots of beauty, sea, sand, and views! The beach was a nice walk and people (and their dogs) were friendly.

By Clay R |

Got here on a Saturday afternoon. They still had a tent spot for us! The near by fires might have helped. Also no campfires because of that. But there was a nice presentation about the local whales and the beach was a lot of fun to explore! Lots of drift wood to build shacks and forts and such.

By SueVirginiaBeach_Va |

Gorgeous coastline, rock formations and RV park. A bit crowded today but will be sure to return. Clean, populated sand beach

By 2013TravelinFool |

Was a foggy morning and wasn’t expecting much but the sun popped out a little. Pictures were stunning and Maggie Mae loved ❤️ playing ball and running in and out of the waves 🌊.

By Mike H |

Depending if you are going north or south this is the first or last beach in Oregon. It is a nice beach and we found it a great place to stop and walk around a little.

By T W |

Just Ok, Nothing special. If your traveling the Oregon coast there are better options than here.
It looks like there is a campground above the parking lot.

By LWRFL |

This beach and the vistas are just stunning! Beautiful beach for playing or relaxing. There are ramps, so it’s accessible Parking is pretty good too. Definitely a repeat!

By Thomas S |

Nice beach with great facilities. We were looking for tide pools to view sea life but the beach is all sand so we moved on. If you are looking for a beach to sit and relax it is a great place.

By Heather H |

Quite a busy area but good facilities with easy access to the beach. Well worth a stay. Good sunsets! Plenty for the children to do. Small town with bars and eating places, supermarkets etc. Seems safe for children with a good play Park.

By jerry h |

This is a very well maintained campground. Campsites are nice, the restrooms and showers were all clean and maintained regularly. The short walk to the beach was convenient and the kids had a great time playing there.
