Very clean waterfront park with lots of benches and open grass for the kids and dogs. Please note there are a lot of dogs on leashes here. Many open restaurants here as well. Clean safe environment.

What a great park - walking paths along the water that are also lined with swings. How cool is that! A great way to come and relax, also running almost the length of the park are the backside of restaurants with outdoor dining. Such a relaxing way to spend a few hours.

Always nice just to stroll the waterfront area. Nice swings to chill
at!
Nice grass area and
Kids park.

Breath of fresh air. Weather perfect, dog friendly. Sure wish they would have the gullah festival at another venue though, really hampers all other visitors.

my wife and I truly enjoyed our time in Beaufort. Great downtown area and this park was beautiful. we
will be going back again.

Beautiful park. We strolled along the waterfront walkway. There were bench swings everywhere! The landscape was beautiful as well. They also had informative plaques that described the history of the area.
I don’t believe the heavy nautical chains used for the fence were very safe if we had small children.

Nice walk along the water. They also have an area with information on the history of Beaufort. If you are lucky you will get a great view of the moving drawbridge as one of the larger shrimp boats or yachts make their way under the bridge.

We will stop and let the kids play at the park when we are in Beaufort visiting. You can grab lunch at one of several restaurants, let the kids play in the park, and grab ice cream afterward. This has been a go-to when we are in town. Beautiful place!

In the 60's, this area was shoreline and river. The back porches of the shops and restaurants were once suspended over pluff mud and fiddler crabs at low tide. Today it is the signature attraction of downtown Beaufort and the gathering place for locals and tourists alike, thanks to the vision of Mayor Chambers and others. I love reading the plaques and markers about Beaufort's history, which is fascinating by the way, love the benches and swings, and most of all, I love that amazing walkway along the Beaufort River. It would be ridiculous to visit Beaufort and not spend time enjoying this park. It's a special place.

Catch the breeze under the shade of palms while watching the boats and dolphins go by. Great shopping and delicious food await if you tire of the scene. Best view in town. Plan a festival weekend for some extra fun.

What a gorgeous place to take a stroll. Nicely laid out for casual walks close to downtown marina. Photo ops abound

A lovely waterfront park where many people go to stroll, swing or have their kids play at the small but impressive playground. It runs parallel to the main street and restaurants have outdoor seating right on the park.

This waterfront setting is one of the SC Lowcountry’s jewels with its south east exposure catching sunrise and sunset and the sweeping gentle winds I coming up the intracoastal waterway from the ocean. It’s is but a stones throw form great food and hospitality in Beaufort’s national historic landmark district. Seeing is believing. Try it.

Stopped here and had lunch with my family at some of the picnic benches. It’s a really nice park with a great view. Definitely worth stopping by especially with the view.

Henry C Chambers water front park is a beautiful place to spend the day, great for all ages, right downtown, lots to do and see, very safe and convenient,

Every time I visit, I'm sure to go sit at the waterfront and enjoy the view. There is a place to watch the boat traffic, people, and play.

This waterfront park is almost idyllic in its old-world southern simplicity and charm. You'll catch a breeze in the evening and have plenty of swinging chairs to watch the sunset or see the boats at the marina. It is perfect for an after-dinner stroll!

A lovely waterfront park, this is a great place to take a walk, picnic at accessible tables, people watch or hangout and swing on one of the multiple porch swings. Beautiful views of the river, the bridge and boats on the water. Peaceful and worth a trip.

We were here to catch a boat tour and it was very lovely. Nice place to get beautiful pictures of the rotating bridge, bathrooms were very clean and the welcome center had tons of things to do!

Easy to find, easy to do. We had rainy weather while in town so never got to enjoy the benches but I walked this stretch a couple of times right by the water and it's a great stroll after supper or just because.
Highly recommend.

Beautiful at night. Has lots of swings. Pretty views of the sunset and boats. Nice place to walk beside the water and there is a lot of restaurants that line the waterfront. Cute little ice cream shop there too.

What a great community of people. Everyone that we met was friendly and helpful and went out of their way to give us information in regards to the town and places to see things that we could do. Between the history and beautiful nature trails we have to go back because you can’t see it all but we had fun trying.

After a day of walking through town we ended up at this wonderful park. There are plenty of benches and swings, and lots of green space for activities...and a playground area for the kids. Many of the restaurants on Bay street have outdoor seating at the back, overlooking this park, which overlooks the water.

Went to the Shrimp Festival. Beautiful park off the water plenty of park benches and swinging benches.

In an area that’s surrounded by beauty, no overriding reason to go to this park. While very pretty location on the water, very limited parking. We couldn’t find any parking so had to leave.

Plenty of public parking. A short walk to downtown shopping. Beautiful sunset from the large wooden swings facing the water and boats

This is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the scenery, picnic, read a book or people watch. It was well maintained and has plenty of restaurants nearby.

Definitely a wonderful place for a summer stroll, any time of day. We spent 4 days in Beaufort and ended up here each day. Breakfast at Common Ground, many possibilities for lunch and dinner, and be sure to take the boat tour along the low country waterways. We saw dolphins, a roseate spoonbill, and many other water birds. The guide has a wealth of knowledge, and you can tell he loves the area.

Truly a waterfront park with great landscaping and flowers. Some pavilions and great area for kids to play. Many restaurants abut the park with outdoor seating. Great place for a meal and/or drink.

This park is nicely landscaped. Overlooking the river and adjacent to downtown Beaufort, the park is bordered by a number of attractive restaurants and bars. It includes a covered pavilion suitable for performances or special events and very comfortable seating. It also displays plaques which provide a concise and interesting history of City of Beaufort since its beginnings in the 16th century.

Don't miss this park with its panoramic sunset views. But bring the insect repellent! Enjoy a stroll and sit awhile on any of the "porch swings" installed along the waterfront. Grab an ice cream cone at Yoyo's, and enjoy meeting other visitors and their canine companions.

What a great place to walk, take a picnic and enjoy the swings and sunset. Lots of people just having a nice time and relaxing. I was impressed how clean and neat the entire walk was. Sunsets to die for, kids were playing and parents pushing strollers. Just a peaceful beautiful place. Beaufort you should be proud.

We love our long weekend trips to Beaufort, SC. The waterfront park is on the top of our list to visit. We visit morning and afternoon spending time walking the park and sitting for extended periods of time. The city has done a wonderful job of making this area appealing to visitors and locals.

This is a great place to stroll with the family and take those pictures you want to show off to your friends and family. Grab a swing and relax while you feel your cares float away.

Nice park but nothing unusual for this area. Well appointed and maintained park. I think, the best feature lie around. Historic homes features in many movies showing grand Southern architecture. Great location. Happy, pretty small Southern Charme.

This is an absolutely beautiful and relaxing little area. It's just behind the downtown shops, so if you're tired after shopping and want to take a break, it's ideal. Many of the restaurants have seating overlooking the park and the bay--a most enjoyable setting for a meal.

We had heard good things about the park and we're excited to see it along with the rest of Beaufort. We were really surprised at all the homeless at the park. Sleeping on the park benches in sleeping bags in a Saturday at 11:00 in the morning right next to the playground. Not sure we'll be back...

This is a beautiful space that welcomes all. The views over the river, the large lawn, and ample seating are a must when in Beaufort.

Nice park for strolling, romping in the grass or enjoying the views from one of several swings. Also, places to eat. My favorite is Luther's". Inside/outside dining. Dogs allowed in outside dining space & the park. After Luther's, head 2 doors down, believe place is called, Common Ground. Coffees but forget the coffee. Hit the gelato! Almost forgot, plenty of shopping near by.

The Waterfront Park in Beaufort is wonderful at any time of the year. Lovely water views and several benches to sit and enjoy the fabulous water views and gracious historic homes on Bay Street.

Beaufort SC is a charming town, and a big reason is its picturesque location along the Beaufort River. There is a very nice park along the riverfront, with the river on one side and shops and restaurants on the other. There are numerous markers describing the long and interesting history of Beaufort. If you're in Beaufort, make time for a stroll through the park, and perhaps a meal at one of the restaurants, or ice cream at one of the specialty shops. If you're having dinner, eat outside around sunset. Beautiful!

This is great place to stroll and enjoy the waterfront. And the parking is adequate and very reasonably priced.

This small Park right off Bay St is great to take a break from shopping on the main drag. Its nice to have a place to stop and take in the beautiful views and let the kids play on the playground. There are swings and tables for sitting, bathrooms which alot of public areas don’t have.

Rate a waterfront park? You kidding? Nope, this place is exceptional. Varied seating and walking sections, people-watching, community gathering, even delightful on a balmy March evening with few others present. Don't miss when in Beaufort.

A trip to Beaufort is not complete without a stroll along the Waterfront seawall. Beautiful view of the Woods Memorial Bridge.

This is one of the nicest waterfronts I have been to. The swings were our favorite thing to do. We could have stayed there all day. Nice place to visit.

The park has a great view of the waterfront and bridge. It is not very big (maybe two blocks long) but has a ton of swings on which you can take a break and enjoy the view. There are several restaurants (with bars) along the shore side of the park so it is a nice walk after lunch or dinner. The main shops are just a short walk away. Worth the stop.

we visit with our grandkids to enjoy the playground and there is good fishing in this park as well.there are plenty of eating places within walking distance and lots of shopping opportunities here as well

I live here. The park is always lovely. Come any season. It’s family friendly. It’s dog friendly. You can bring your own picnic basket or grab some wonderful food downtown. Sit on a bench. Sit on a blanket. Take photos of the homes, boats, or if you’re lucky-dolphin. It’s free! Can’t beat that.

This hidden gem is best seen from the water, but don't let that stop you from seeking out this oasis. I loved the unique setting, with easy access to restaurants, shops and drinking establisjments on Bay St. You'll find a pretty, well-maintained green space with lots of room for children to explore the fenced playground. It is important to note, this is a working waterway and marina. Your children must be under your charge along the water as there is only a large chain barrier between the sidewalk and the bay. Large, lazy bench swings line the promenade along the waterfront; they fairly beg you "to come sit a spell" and slow down. Check online for concerts and events, most are free!
There is public parking for a fee at either end of the park. Metered parking on the street. Heed the warning signs about private or restricted parking in the area.

This is one of the nicest waterfront parks we have seen. Lots of seating, from tables and chairs, to benches and even swings to sit on and enjoy the waterfront. A play area for kids, nice plants, a pavilion for events and plenty of parking. Sit a while and you may get to see the bridge turn so a tall boat may pass under it. Hats off to BEAUFORT for such a nice park.

The view is everything. This is a very beautiful part/walk with views of the sound and the pier. The park is full of activity with plenty of benches, swings and great paved paths.

We frequent parks all around SC and are so happy we took the time to come to this one. It's beautifully laid out by the water with a cute park that our kids didn't want to leave. For Pokemon hunters, this place is packed with them. There are lots of food places nearby and loads of sitting areas if needed. I took some photos of our boys here against the water and they turned out great. We can't wait to go back!

Not much there...just a nice place to sit and watch the world spin
Located on the water with swing benches

There is a huge grassy area that is perfect for dogs to run, children to play, or maybe even ultimate frisbee. The park is great but is meant for children older than my child. Still a great place surrounded by good food and cute stores.

Nice area to stop for rest and kids to play. Lots of riverside porch type swings to sit and slow down the day or take break from the heat. Plenty of shade and riverside breeze. Also a very nice fenced playground for the kiddies. Worth stopping by snacks nearby too.

This is a beautiful park right on the water with lots of shade and seating, including porch swings. You could spend hours here just enjoying the views.

This area offers so many great things. Lots of green space, cute shops and good food, great playground, and plenty of swings to use as you look at the water. It’s an adorable and well kept area. We stop here on our way to Fripp Island.

Enjoyed the circle of palm trees with the history of Beaufort inscribed on slabs as you walked around. Nice little playground. View of bridge to Fripp Island and the town marina. Parking is at a premium and we hear the cops are prolific ticket writers.... you are warned!

We stopped by the park on a quest for ice cream during our visit to Beaufort. This is such a beautiful little place to sit and relax. It was still a little rainy, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.

This park was very nice and extremely charming to walk through. They had swinging benches along the walkway looking out at the water. You can watch the birds and the boats. There were kids skating in the main area having a good time. Walking around the park was nice because you can access many restaurants from the back (on the park side) instead if having to go back on bay street.

A record hot day in Beaufort but the beautiful sea breeze made a walk here very pleasant. We watched families having fun and just enjoying the great day. Many of the restaurants along this stretch did not inspire us to enter from the street side but we saw many delightful patios from the park side and eventually chose one for lunch.
This will be our go-to area the next time we make a day trip to Beaufort.

Stopped for a break on our tour bus. Just so nice to stroll along the waterfront, sit on the swings and chat to a few local people, who seemed intrigued by the British accents !! Well worth a visit.

Beautiful waterfront park! I especially enjoyed sitting with my son on one of the bench swings and soaking up the sun as we watched the boats go by on the river. The playground was great fun for my grandkids and had varied equipment to climb, ride and slide on. Walking a long the waterfront promenade was a delight but the only improvement we feel is needed is a more secure and safer barrier railing that small children can’t fall through into the river. Though it’s aesthetically pleasing, the current one is nerve wracking for parents trying to keep kids safe without having to carry them.

My husband and I wanted to take a day and go where we had never visited so we choose Beaufort SC. Our 1st stop was HCC Waterfront Park. The parking is close and very affordable. Just park and pay the kiosk. Cost is $1 an hour. It is right on the marina so there were boats coming and going, grassy areas, benches and swings to sit on. Plenty of shade but also places in the sun. Close enough to walk to several places on Bay St to grab a drink or a bite to eat. Or just stoll Bay St and check out a few stores. The 2 carriage tour companies are located right outside the park and also have a pick up area inside. We didn't do a tour this time but want to on our next visit. Very charming area that we truly enjoyed!

Enjoyed by visitors and locals alike, Waterfront Park is most often a place of tranquility and comfort. It is a place to stroll, sip a coffee and drink in the ambience of the South Carolina Lowcountry with its rich history and natural beauty. Several cafes and restaurants are located on the edge of the park for a taste of seafood and local cuisine. It can be a jumping off point for carriage and walking tours of the historic district.
Waterborne traffic will lazily float by and there is a good chance to glimpse dolphins and other wildlife going about their lives. You will want to return here to recoup from your other activities.

A delightful stroll during the day and a perfect spot to watch the fireworks of the Water Festival. No sign of trash and landscaped nicely.

My wife and I stopped here on a trip to Hunting Island. We had not heard about it and were surprised how nice it was. We got snacks for town and walked to the park. We would love to go back again and spend more time here.

We are leaving this beautiful piece of paradise soon.
Place is awesome,waterfront view spectacular.
Going to miss relaxing on the swings people watching .
Eating in all the fine restaurants along the walkway.
Hint parking after 7pm is free

Sit a spell on the swings that line the waterfront and take in the view. From here, you can watch the Woods' swing bridge open to allow boats to pass through. The park is well maintained. Lawn and plants are manicured, and there is absolutely no litter. I live in California where people have no respect for their surroundings so I find that refreshing.

Whenever I have out-of-town guests I take them to the park. It is a great place to stroll around and take in the amazing beauty of our beautiful town. There are shops and restaurants right there and within walking distance. It is truly unique and worth finding a place to park.

The waterfront walkway extends through downtown Beaufort and offers a stunning view of the river and surrounding marshes. On a sunny day enjoy the riverfront swings, the adjoining businesses and waste a couple hours relaxing. Beaufort is a scenic city with friendly people and this is in the heart of it.

Best place to go to relax by the water. You can stroll down the sidewalk to enjoy the view or have a seat on a swing and enjoy the breeze. Beautiful!

There are numerous events held here throughout the year, it's considered a gathering place by many and there are great restaurants and shops all around it. Take a seat in the swing and look out at the beautiful river.

This is a nice, but small public Park area with a display of several historical plaques. There's a small walkway along the water, and several restaurants with a water view. There is also a small Yo-Yos ice cream shop at one end of the park (which we stopped at). Note, that I didn't see any public restrooms at the park.

Very soothing and lined with swinging chairs to enjoy the view. Plenty of parking. A nice park to enjoy a walk before going into the little downtown and the historic district. On the far side are a few restaurants.

This is a well-kept comfortable place to stroll or sit on a bench and watch the water. Frequent festivals often bring in crowds, but on other days it is just a nice place to hang out.

We were driving from Charleston to Savannah and were told it is worth goings out of our way to stop at Beaufort. In the marshes there years ago were the rice paddies that brought income to the South. Also Mansions with moss lined trees, We decided to stop and parked by the park and marina. For a small town it was beautiful tree lined walk way and back several yards were patio restaurants. We walked around the small shop lined town and wished we could spend the day there. On our list to go back to and stay several days.

This small but beautiful park is located along the water in downtown Beaufort. I found it to be clean and nicely landscaped with restrooms located at the adjacent marina. There's nice views of the water and fishing boats, and it's probably a great place to watch a sunrise or sunset. Several downtown restaurants have the park as their backyard so it's the ideal spot to walk off that Low Country meal. Parking is available and during the December holidays the marina parking lot was free of charge. Definitely would recommend a short stroll here after checking out the shops along Bay Street.

This is a beautiful park on the waterfront with lots of flowers, trees, some swings and historical signs telling you the 300+ year history of the area. Just located behind downtown main street, you are close enough to spend leisure time before or after shopping or a meal. The park is free to stroll or have a picnic. You will have to pay for parking along the streets so carry some quarters.

This is s great place for a walk along the waterfront. We always take our dog and he loves it. Sometimes a band will be playing in the pavillion in the center of the park. Numerous restaurants are located along the perimeter. Best to go in the fall or spring when it's cooler because it gets very uncomfortable in the summer/

Beautiful place. Worth Seeing. Perfect place to sit on the swings with ice cream and take in a sunset.

We take all our visitors to the waterfront park of Henry C Chambers. The swings are fun and the views are beautiful. There is often a nice breeze to keep you comfortable. So many shops and restaurants in walking distance. Parking is $1.00 per hour Mon-Sat. 11am to 7pm.

This is a very safe park for kids and parents. There are places for adults to sit and watch the kids. The park is fenced in and difficult for kids to get out or in.
There is a good variety of playground equipment. The park is shady and always had a breeze.

While visiting Beaufort, SC be sure and check out the Waterfront Park. You can lay a blanket out on the grass or grab a swing and relax. You'll probably see dolphins and get to watch the spinning bridge open to let a sailboat or two head on their way on the Intracoastal Waterway.

enjoyed the view of the water and places to eat. Went with my dog and she loved it to. Lots of places to choose from to eat.

My wife and I spent a bit of time here walking and enjoying the swing. It's only 1 block from downtown Main St. so park your car and enjoy all of it.

This is a really nice park to walk along the waterfront. There is a playground for kids and swings for adults facing the water. It's just beautiful especially if the sun is out and it's warm.

Peace, tranquility and nearby shopping! Can't get better than that. The park is one block off the street lined with many great little shops and restaurants. There are a tone of swings, benches, a small dock, a play ground. You can watch boats come and go and see the bridge. It's just a wonderfully designed park with clean restrooms. We would come again and again.

A great place to stop, swing and enjoy the Beaufort Waterfront. A well maintained park that offers something for everyone. Playground for youngsters and swings for relaxing, reading, or just enjoying the view of boats on the river.

The city has restored their waterfront in a beautiful manor. A park, some open facilities for music, the river walkway, and a bunch of swings to spend time watching the boats, beautiful. Behind you is the back side of Bay Street with all their stores and restaurants, most of which have upended their backs on the park.

A beautiful spot to walk along the waterfront or sit in a swing and enjoy the sun. It was a great way to spend some time enjoying Beaufort.

I almost didn't stop here as it didn't look like much from the road glance. But when I went to one of the local restaurants, they sat us outside right on the edge. After dinner, this provided a beautiful sunset stroll, with a bonus two person swing.

I live in Beaufort SC and its a beautiful place so many things to see from Downtown Beaufort to Hunting Island but please be very Alert! Our crime rate in the last year has risen to an extreme number of robberies murders and drug activity so please be safe and always stay alert pay attention to your souroundings! Beaufort is known for the tourist if its for a military graduation or just a sweet southern visit but the crime rate isn't spoken about by local leaders nor are the tourist aware of our problem! The month of December we have had 1 missing person 1 deceased shooting victim 4 other shooting victims our local officials have not attempted to make us feel safe! If you are visiting please be alert at all times!!!!

Beaufort is a quiet, quaint town on the coast between Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. The Waterfront Park is in town and just behind the wonderful shops on Bay Street. The most difficult part of sharing this information is that it is revealing the secrets of Beaufort and the small town, friendly and welcoming secret. Just love this town.

Great family park right on the waterfront. Playground with swings and mulch base. Fenced in for safety. Affordable plentiful parking. Downtown is right nearby.

We came here for our first Shrimp Festival. We had a great time. There are a LOT of vendors with all kinds of Shrimp concoctions. This is great for those who really like shrimp. However, if you don't...well, there is pizza and ice cream!
A lot of entertainment, a large number of craft vendors, in addition to the food vendors. This is a great way to spend a few hours enjoying the downtown area.

You've got the bridge on a foggy morning, boats in the marina to admire at night, people watching in the daytime. There's a park for kids, a very well maintained lawn to play with your dog, and small outdoor area for live events. A safe place to walk or just hang out.

Gorgeous views, including sunset. Great place to sit & eat, walk after dinner or just sit in a swing and enjoy the views.

Beaufort is a special place for our family not just because of our love of shrimp and scallops fresh from SC waters, but also for the beauty of the historic district and friends we have known there. The riverfront is a place to relax while sitting in the swings or to grab a cocktail at Plums or Luther's. The sunset view is our favorite time there.

I took my dog down to the pier, very beautiful scene, very serene. The water was very calm, I live in Canada, so I appreciated the warm weather for this time of year.

Wonderful weekend attending the Gullah Festival. The day was packed with low country history and entertainment.

This is a great area, to walk around, enjoy the scenery and find a place for lunch... after lunch, there are many stores on the main road to wander in and out.....

Beautiful area to walk by the water and the marina. You can even sit on a swing and just relax. Some wonderful eateries nearby.

Love this area. Beautiful views, clean, friendly people. Swinging on the water front swing is the Best!

It goes several blocks, has the original Tabby wall, is right on the water, has expansive grassy areas, great swings to sit and view the boats on the water...a wonderful, relaxing place to go and spend a bit of time just watching the world go by!

What a great strolling place and play place for kids. The closeness to restaurants and shopping makes it the best.

Nice clean walk on the waterway. Great for a couple and loved the swings that lined the area.
Very calming and peaceful.

Behind Beaufort's downtown street and close to numerous restaurants and shops. It is within walking distance of the Beaufort Inn. Lots of swings to sit on and enjoy the water view. Lots of green space for children to play. Worth a special stop.

This park has a playground for kids, is dog friendly, and has many benches on which to sit and enjoy the great view. There are restaurants and an ice cream shop right at the park's edge.

It's a very nice, quiet place. Ideal for outdoor walking and coffee watching the river. Very nice and recommended.

This is a beautiful park, easy to get to, easy parking, very nicely kept, with beautiful views. There's lots to do close by, carriage tours and nice places to eat.

Spent time each evening in the swings located along the waterfront. Great place to walk and also to enjoy one of the many restaurants and bars that line the waterfront.

Lovely maintained park along the waterfront. Plenty of space to sit a spell and relax after browsing the many quaint shops and restaurants nearby.

Nice outdoor space, you can eat, watch the boats go by, people watch. Its just a nicely created outdoor space on the back side of the main street restaurant and shops and next to the waterway. We ate at one of the restaurants tables and enjoyed eating and watching familys enjoying the day,

Beautiful with a delicate wind, adult benches which swing by the water front boardwalk. Sunset is amazing. Plenty of green grassy lawn. In the heart of downtown with plenty of shopping and food choices.

The waterpark is a nice, relaxing walk with stunning views of the bay and swings to sit and enjoy the view.

Excellent setting along the water fort in downtown Beaufort overlook the harbor and many swings to set on during the day and also to watch the sunset

I drove from Ft.Lauderdale to the Gullah Festival this past weekend to teach my friend's kids about the culture and the history. I was extremely disappointed in the festival to say the least. First, the $25 entry fee with nothing was terrible. There were no souvenirs, books, tshirts, etc., for patrons to purchase. Food vendors were outside of the enclosed area where the festival was, making festival goers trying to learn go back and forth to get food and drinks. It was 103/104 during the hottest part of the festival and there were lots of old people which in my opinion was very inconvenient.
The MC kept telling us to drink water, but there was none for purchase besides two little girls pushing a bin every now and then. Everything was overpriced, inconvenient, and there was not nearly enough education about the Gullah history or culture happening. I felt like I was at a long Black church service, which was not my expectation at all. The festival is nothing like it was 12-15 years ago.
I left the park and festival (which is nice by the way) and decided to drive to St.Helena Island where the Gullah people still live instead. The most popular restaurant on the island closed early which I also planned for. By the weekends end I decided I won't be attending anymore festivals in Beaufort as long as they are in the park and hosted by the Original Gulllah Festival. The event overhypes and underperforms. You would likely enjoy a tour in Charleston or Beaufort more than the festival. You will definitely learn more.

Great opportunity to have a romantic hand in hand walk at twilight.
Extremely clean and comfortable.

Just off Beaufort's Main Drag (Bay Street) is a great place to rest,
enjoy and commune with the best of nature's watery vistas.

Another relaxing beauty spot in Beaufort. Restaurants, ice cream, playgrounds, people strolling and relaxing. Walk across the nearby bridge or just sit on a swing and let the time go by.

Great little park along the waterfront that is perfect for a stroll. Plenty of swings to sit along the water and just enjoy the view. Starts at one end by the marina and ends near the bridge. There is a nice fenced in playground located near the bridge end.

Wonderful place to sit and relax !! I could have napped on the porch swing, a cool breeze and lovely view of water. what more could you ask for ?

Clean and well lit park that follows along the water and marshes bordering Beaufort . Playgrounds for the kids with many options for seating just to relax and enjoy activity on the water. Adjacent to the main shopping area with many restaurants. We captured the turn bridge in action! 🌉

Business brings us to Beaufort today, and we are always attracted to the very charming Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.
The warm sun compels us to a river front swing.

Even in the overcast, dreary day that I was there .. this is a beautiful park with a nice walkway next to the water and plenty of park benches to enjoy the view.

Great park with playground and greenspace right on the riverfront. Plenty of pay parking, but affordable. Downtown is very easily reachable and walkable.

We originally rode our bikes to this location from the Spanish Moss Trail and decided to come back later in the day to sit on the bench swings and watch the sunset. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area. Had to pay for parking via an app.

We love it here but might not have come if we'd known the waterfront park is indefinitely closed and fenced off due to deteriorating pilings. I get why it is, but a big part of why we come here is closed and no one on line is telling us. So I am.

We kayaked from here with Lands End and strolled by the water, easy access to Bay Street shops and a number of nice eateries. Parking was plentiful in the morning and the fee was very reasonable.

Not only did we have great views but there was a book fair at the pavilion. We did take the free trolley tour of Beaufort, which was a total waste. Driver was mostly interested in her jobs and where to eat. We got NO history.

Nice old atmosphere with lots of history feeling of antebellum south.good eats along the way and great sunset

I walked around the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in June 2021. It was a magical and peaceful place. There were great views of the water and the Woods Memorial Bridge (this is the bridge that Forrest Gump ran across). There were many (bench) swings facing the water and it looked very relaxing. Near the park are several restaurants and Bay Street. Near the beginning of the park and Bay Street, you can find the house where the movie "The Prince of Tides" was filmed. I really enjoyed walking around the waterfront, taking photos and looking at the water and the bridge.

This is a great starting point for your visit to Beaufort. There is convenient paid parking and you are in the heart of the area with all the shops and restaurants. A nice way to experience the Beaufort waterfront, historic sites and is a convenient base for your adventure.
There is a playground located in the park and restaurant that overlooks the water (great views).
TIP: There are plenty of photo opportunities in this park
.

Start or end dinner on Bay Street with ice cream on a rocking bench swing. Take in a beautiful sunrise or sunset and look for dolphins! Beautifully landscaped and paved walk along the water.

My daughter and I enjoyed a quiet morning stroll watching the sunrise and browsing the local shops. Grab coffee before you go to see the sunrise...

We visited here during the annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival.Nice views, plenty of benches, near a marina to watch the boats, etc.

Beautiful park. Fun for the whole family. Amazing views. We walked out on the pier and watched a school of dolphins. Very nice playground area. Public bathrooms were clean and cool. We were there during heat wave and Gulla Festival. Had a great time. Would visit again and spend more time there next time just enjoying the views.

Great small park with wonderful views of the river and so comfortable sitting in the swings. Nice walking path along the river as well.

My husband and I always love coming to this park to walk and to sit on the swings as we watch the beautiful scenery.

We took a late afternoon stroll. It was quiet; we took some time to sit in the swinging bench area and enjoy the sunset. There is an area about halfway down the park promenade where there are plaques (arranged in a circle) that explain various periods of the town's history -- very interesting.

Beautiful and relaxing. Veiw is serene. We loved hanging out on the swings catching the cool breeze and chatting.

The views are great with places to sit, there are some historical plaques and public bathrooms. Parking cost $1 an hour. Restaurants are right there, on the park (a variety) as well as shopping on the street behind the restaurants, so plenty to do.

Beautiful park. Clean. Family and pet friendly. A lot of places to sit along with all of the restaurants and bars.

What a nice place for a view of the Beaufort Bay. Take a nice stroll and watch the sunset then go and have a nice meal at one of the many nearby restaurants

Walked the Park along the waterfront. There was a festival going on at the time with lots of nice vendors selling their stuff. Swings lined the area so you could take a break, relax and look out over the water.

This park is right behind Yolo ice cream. There is a parking lot which you must pay for at the location. The spot has a playground, benches and a nice view of the river.

If you’re looking for a place to take a romantic stroll, to look at some beautiful scenery filled with all kinds of boats, and if you get hungry there’s always any kind of food,I ice cream shops and coffee shops you can stop in and get whatever your heart desires.. but you may want to sit in the cute swings and maybe sneak in a 💋or two!!

Peaceful, beautiful, family friendly and romantic too. Watch the ships, grab some food or coffee, or enjoy the live music on the outdoor patios. This park is hard to beat.

What an amazing place! Beaufort is so beautiful and the waterfront park is an absolute gem. Highly recommended a visit!!

We walked to full length of the area. Very nice and clean. Plenty of places to set, including swings.

Bordered by the water on one side and a string of upscale restaurants on the other Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park offers a cool shaded open area to relax and gaze across the Beaufort River and distant islands. You could also go for a jog along the many walkways and paths, go fishing or take the children to a well appointer playground. You can find something for everyone, here.

The waterfront in downtown Beaufort is beautiful- great view of the water and boats that dock nearby- great place to just chill with comfortable benches and big wooden swings to share- pretty sunsets - my grandson especially loved the playground there- access to specialty shops and restaurants on Bay Street which are a must to experience!

This is a very popular site for both tourist and locals. You can view the many boats moored there or even see a cruise ship docking.
Many festivals and music events are held at this locale and its even a good spot to people watch and exercise or play with your dog. You can see kids doing cartwheels and families lounging on a blanket spread on the manicured lawn.
The area and local businesses are pet friendly and offer water bowls for your four-legged family member. Parking is plentiful and the park is surrounded by many locally owned stores.

We were there for the 35th Annual Gullah/Geechie Festival...the mini amphitheater is mostly uncovered, so when it started raining we had to scatter. However, there are several restaurants & shops around the park so there were places to go. Great view of the water & bridge...lots of benches...nice walkway...it's a lovely park.

This was a lovely breezy place to walk, you could sit and swing if you wanted to. Children could play and the flowers were lovely.

The walk along the river is so lovely and you are likely to find all kinds of things going on. There was an impromptu drum circle going on when we were there - drums & drummers of all ages just jammin'. Restaurants are terrific. But we most enjoyed the plaques in the garden circle, taking the time to read each one.

Great park to visit and take a walk. Swings to sit on and enjoy the sunset. Lots of restaurants surrounding area. Kids enjoyed the poke mon go options too 😊 #pinkyknowsnaples

Waterfront park is a hot sport in Beaufort, SC. There are a bunch of restaurants that overlook the park and there is a wonderful path to walk with swinging benches. You can watch the boats go by, see the swinging bridge and catch gorgeous sunsets. We'd recommend anyone visiting the area to spend some time at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park!

If you are wanting to just stroll in peace and quit this area is perfect. Whenever we I am in town I always have to go for a stroll.

We enjoyed the view, the open space, the big swings and easy access to food. There were lots of people moving around. Clean and safe.

Drunks and drug addicts have taken over this onetime gem of the Low Country and turned it into a vagrant campground to include bedrolls, sleeping bags, and hotplates. I frankly don't feel safe walking down here alone. Parents with children should keep them close. Many of these "urban campers" hang out drinking on the other side of the public restroom right next to the children's playground. The drunken arguments and garbage being thrown into the Beaufort river is a sight to behold. So if you're into being hit up for money as you walk the waterfront this place is for you because Beaufort PD has been ordered by Beaufort City leadership to stand down and panhandling is perfectly legal. Enjoy!

My wife and I go to Beaufort regularly mainly to have an early morning coffee after swinging by the farmers market in Port Royal. Sit on the porch of the Common Ground Coffee House enjoying an early morning brew and you will see others relaxing, strolling by, playing fetch with their dog or maybe even a wedding party finding the right spot for pictures with the water and further out salt marsh in the back ground. Finish your coffee and stroll near the water, stop for an old fashion swing break and watch for dolphin going by. This is a great starting point for your day in Beaufort before you hit all the many shops and art galleries on Bay Street

They had some construction when we were there but it didn't prevent us from enjoying the water front and the wonder swings and teak wood seating areas. This is a great spot for all.

We visited grandma in Port Royal and she took us here to play at the playground and watch the water. The swings were great as it was very hot that day. It’s a beautiful park and the shopping and restaurants in downtown Beaufort is right there. Beautiful, well kept park.

The Henry C Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort I’d really stunning. Very calm place to visit. The boardwalk is really enjoyable.

I love walking here it is a beautiful park with many Restaurants surrounding this waterfront park...

After walking out of a restaurant we enjoyed a stroll along the waterfront. Enjoyed seeing the bridge move for big boats. Great for dogs, families, and couples. Wooden bench swings were great! Lots of open space.

Beautiful, clean, convenient, good parking, love the swings. A wonderful family place, marina and shops .

Got lucky and strolled before the rains came during Gullah Fest. Met people from up and down the east coast while waiting in line for food. A lovely park and a gem for locals and visitors alike.

Being from a big City, I wasn't sure what the downtown area would look like here. It is always refreshing to step downtown, walk along the waterfront, and let the kids play at the park. Wonderful place to visit at night as well...grab some dinner and enjoy the view!

The park along the water is a nice design and well done. There is nice swings to sit on facing the water and sis cement benches. A good playground for kids and an information circle that talks about the history of Beaufort from the start to current on brass plaques. Seems like a nice place to chill and hangout.

A nicely sized, recently updated park between the water, hence its name, and the restaurant/shopping/historic district. Mr. Chambers clearly had foresight and those who followed him have expanded on his vision. Lawns, manicured landscaping, brick paths, swing seats, an ancient tabby seawall, a large pavilion and frequent on shore breezes. A good place to walk off some of the food from the many restaurants lining the land side.

My wife and I spent October 2018 in Beaufort SC. I was at this park daily. It’s very well laid out , lined by bistros and restaurants Thete is a playground for children and a wide walkway with ample seating for those just wanting to sit and watch the boats pass by. There were events nearly every weekend anyall were family friendly.
If you visit , you won’t be disappointed.

Great place to walk and see the scenery. Shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Pay to park after 11am

We walked to the park from our B&B. Found an open swing and relaxed after dinner as the sun went down. A wonderful cooling breeze was blowing. Lots of green space and what looked like a place for events and or live music. A children's playground was at the opposite end from the marina. Beautiful water views.

This waterfront, city park is nicely done. Kudos to Beaufort! It provides a relaxing place to view the waterfront, boats, and "turning" bridge and is just steps away from the historic area, shops, and restaurants. They've done a nice job with benches and swings. There are bathrooms and a playground. It's pretty busy on a nice evening, but well worth a visit.

Waterfront park is a destination each day you are in Beaufort. We were lucky enough to stay across the street at the Best Western. A walk in the morning and stroll at night was apart of each vacation day.
Highlight if our trip for sure.

Great views of both the city and the water. The swings were a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

So many little shops, eateries and places to stroll and sightsee. Stop in and get your Forrest Gump chocolates on the main, swing on the swings and island hop while you are here!

After visiting one of the downtown Restaurants,go to the waterfront & find a swing...It's so peaceful & so relaxing...I promise u will enjoy it.

Even though it was raining, we enjoyed walking through this modern and well groomed park. It is a must when you are in this small town.

Very beautiful! Definitely worth the trip. Park is clean and well maintained. Surrounding shops are charming!

Fabulous Beaufort boasts a wonderful waterfront boardwalk.Massive Live Oaks and Spainish Moss. Walk to Marina, spectacular boats.plenty of benches to sit on. Multiple fine seafood restaurants abound. All fresh caught seafood dishes. Easy Parking.
Pure southern charm. Nice folks. Breathtaking water views. Gorgeous sunsets. Beaufort is rich in southern history and culture. A must go.

Great place to stroll, on the waterfront, the circle garden with all the history of Beaufort on plaques, and right by many beautiful restaurants and amazing historical homes.

This is the second time we stayed at the marina attached to this park. The park is kept very clean, and there is a lovely walkway along the water with swinging benches facing the water. Palmetto trees abound and the park is adjacent to downntown historical Beaufort with all its' great restaurants and shops.

Though we didn't get to see the bridge swing due to no boats, the location of this park is literally a 2 minute walk from the main street in town. I imagine it is beautiful in the Spring! There are porch style swings all along the waterfront to enjoy the view from.
We visited several times while we were in town and even made a point to stop back in on our way back to Charleston.

What a wonderfully put together park. The kids playground with bathrooms right next to it is brilliant. The row of adult swings and benches all along the waterfront are wonderful to just sit a while and relax. The entire park is great.

The water front park is a great place to take a stroll or sit on a bench or snuggle on the bench swings and breathe in the fresh air and warm sun especially after a great lunch from one of the outdoor restaurants.

It’s a park in Charleston! Trees grass boardwalk and people! You can see water and hang out soaking up the area. Not much else there.

The park itself was beautiful on top of that we went during their waterfront festival which had an awesome air show. There are swing chairs all along the waterfront letting you relax and look out to the bay.

This was a very nice spot to end the day, spent quite a bit of time enjoying the breeze and the porch swings at sunset and it is close enough to a quaint little shopping street to walk over and a few interesting looking restaurants as well.

We came to park to walk around and watch the boats. We enjoyed the swings and had dinner with a view! We stayed to watch the sun set and so glad we did because it was beautiful! We were lucky enough to watch the bridge open to let a large boat through which was pretty neat to see it turn, the area seemed very safe and full of families walking and kids playing in green space.

This is a lovely place to take a stroll or just sit in one of the swings and watch the world go by. Very clean and well-kept. Many restaurants nearby.

We always stop in Beaufort on our return from Florida each year, and we really enjoy walking along the waterfront park, using the swings to relax and watch the boats. And there are several good restaurants to choose from right downtown.

The park is the waterfront of Beaufort. Creative, attractive and well-thought out public space. Limitations? parking; walk if you can, or lots of easy bicycle access. You'll enjoy it more without a car.

I actually lived in Beaufort for nearly 20 yrs & visited often. The waterfront is beautiful and family friendly with a playground, porch style swings around the park overlooking the water, an ice cream parlor and numerous restaurants and shops.

A lovely walk along the water on one side and a shady park full of aged trees on the other side are the perfect setting for relaxation and peace in a hurried world. Covered swings facing the water along the walk make a delightful place to contemplate life and feel distant from the problems of our world. For children there’s a fenced playground where delightful sounds of joy can be heard, giving hope for the future to the weary soul. What sweet memories.

This beautiful park has adjacent parking at a reasonable price. Benches are available for sitting and viewing the marina. Kids will enjoy the playground with swings. Nearby historic homes and shopping make this a convenient location.

The "Waterfront" Park was such a brilliant idea mainly from the former Mayor of Beaufort Henry Chambers" It opens out onto the beautiful Beaufort River. The range of stuff to do there is quite varied. From horse drawn carriage tours at one end, to a comprehensive children's play area at the other. There a numerous restaurants and businesses such as gift stores to real estate offices along it's length. They have many events there such as the famous Waterfest, Shrimpfest and the Taste of Beaufort. If you are traveling ANYWHERE in Beaufort County - you really must visit the Waterfront Park.

Nice park but expensive parking and little of it. I went to the shrimpfest but did not stay due to parking. They have swings to sit and view the water.

After we parked our car and paid for the privilege we decided to walk around the park. As soon as we started a car pulled up and a kid got out and proceeded to follow us. I got the creeps and decided to side on a swing bench, which is very nice. My husband sat next to me and asked me if I was uncomfortable about the kids following us. I told him yes and he felt the same way. The kid followed the path to the end and his buddy picked him up and they sped off. Oh the "love bugs" are gross and disgusting. I would never go back to Beaufort. Also, a "crazy man" on the street yelling that the restaurants don't open until 4.

Nice walk along the water. Plenty of good restaurants and bars. Recommend going as the sun is setting.

This place is a wonderful place to relax, feel the bay breeze, and watch the boats. There are porch swings along the water line and also a great little play ground for the kids. It's also right next to historic downtown Beaufort, so it is in close proximity to good food and shopping. There is metered parking throughout downtown as well as a parking lot where you pay at a kiosk and put the ticket on your dash. Parking in that lot is only $1/ hour, so very reasonable. We love to come here every time we're in Beaufort!

I really wish we had a park like this in Charleston - it is perfect: something for everyone. Fine or casual dining, a playground for the kids, and historic markers for those interested.

right behind the main drag of downtown Beaufort. People watching, sunset over the water, strolling. Historical markers tell the story of Beaufort. Definitely worth a visit if you're downtown

My wife and I had a very nice lunch along the waterfront.
Parking is easy and there are several restaurants to choose from. We decided to go to a nearby sandwich shop and have our lunch on one of the benches on the waterfront.
Very nice.
It’s beautiful!

I love to visit the Waterfront Park with my husband and nephews! It's a great place to bring food and your love ones and let them play in the fenced in play area. The children play
beautifully with little ones that they have made friends with and adults enjoy watching the children play and the beautiful scenery!!! The breeze from the water is heavenly!!!

Such a pretty waterfront park. Can stroll along the water, eat lunch and feel the ocean breeze or relax on the bench swings along the walk and watch the boats on the water.

This park is beautiful. Great for a nice walk or to just sit and enjoy the surroundings. The are markers with a very interesting history of Beaufort from its earliest days. Lots of good places to eat very nearby.

Wonderful charming way to enjoy historic Beaufort
The waterfront was transformed in the 70's from a wharf to a beautiful way to experience the town and water

Enjoyed walking along the waterfront and across the drawbridge. Stopped to read the various monuments east of the bridge and the park setting west.

Take time when visiting this charming little town to take a nice walk on the waterfront park. Beautiful landscaping and old trees make the area perfect for an afternoon visit.

If it’s your first time to Beaufort, you must sit and enjoy the breeze, the view and hope the swing bridge opens. I was born and raised in this area had the pleasure of graduating High School at Henry Chambers park. My marriage took me to another state, let me assure you there are few visits where I don’t sit in a swing and take that moment to balance my soul. Lots of fun Festivals not to mention good food on Bay St. Take the moment to relax and breathe in that sweet smell!!

If you have young children, don’t miss this free attraction (except for meter parking). We enjoyed the walkway and most restaurants are dog friendly. There are small shops to get ice cream or candy in the area as well as a meal.

Well kept and a great way to enjoy the great views in downtown Beaufort. Many restaurants right off of the walkways as well. Love the swings they have there. Nice at sunset.

Small little park on the roof front with an exclusive pedestrian zone. Lots of people walking around in Kids playing. Good use of the waterfront with the boats at the landings in otherwise a great little walk

If you're visiting Beaufort, heading to downtown and visiting the waterfront park is a must. Enjoy the warm weather and beautiful views from one of the restaurants, or get some ice cream and hang out on one of the bench swings looking out at the water.

Such a beautiful park. Love the swings facing the water. Very clean and nicely landscaped. With paths back to the main street/

If you go to Beaufort you have to visit this place, nice, relaxing , scenic waterfront park with swing bench’s.

Don't drive through Beaufort and not stop, park and walk the Henry C Chambers Waterfront Park it is worth it! Green space, beautiful water views while swinging on the bench swings and lots of local restaurants to grab lunch.

This waterfront park is a great example of city planning at its best. Swings where you can sit and look out at the water. Open green spaces where children can run and play. Wide sidewalks along the water. Restaurants and shops. Live music. I returned to this space many times over my week in town.

The park is just off of Bay st, the main part of town. It overlooks the river, has large grassy areas to let pets and kids play. At one end, the park has a secure playground and restrooms. Swings are all through the park so you can swing and watch the boats go by. Many fine resturants and shops line the park on the street side. Get an ice cream or a meal.

Absolutely beautiful!! A great place to walk after dinner or even for a early morning run. We love it!!! :)

Loved this spot. So peaceful to just walk, but the swings are the best. My pup and I had a marvelous time.

Great playground for kids of all ages. Lot's of room for parents to sit and watch their children. Clean and close to ice cream and frozen yogurt shops.

The waterfront park in Beaufort is a real asset to the town. It stretches along a large portion of the waterfront. It has a really neat playground for kids and plenty of swings for adults. It also has a nice place for concerts or other events.

Walking along the waterfront in Beaufort is always fun. Lots of swings to sit and watch the marina, etc. Well lit and paved- it is a must see when visiting downtown.

We enjoyed an afternoon and sunset at the park as well as visiting a few restaurants with outdoor seating and views of the park.

Wonderful public park. Great venue for local events, concerts, shrimp festival, Christmas boat parade.

Clean, restful park that is great to relax in with an ice cream or treat. Very well kept and lots of great people watching all in old downtown Beaufort.

Although it was quite chilly we took a few minutes to stroll on this inviting walkway enjoying the ambiance of a village park. Be aware that parking in the lot is not free.

Beaufort's Waterfront Park is truly a little piece of paradise. A glorious place to sit, relax and enjoy the boats, water, wildlife and more. Numerous festivals and events. I live only 10 minutes away and walk my dogs there almost every day. I feel blessed to live in Beaufort, SC.

Nice place to take a break from shopping and enjoy the view. Plenty of places to sit and a lot of indoor and outdoor restaurants and long the river

Looking for doing some walking along Bay Street in Beaufort. This park is on the harbor with swings and places to enjoy time together as family or friends. Nicely maintained!

This park is the center of all things Beaufort. Bay Street is on one side and the Beaufort River on the other. You can eat on Bay Street then walk a short distance to the water and sit in the park and enjoy the view. We had several dolphin sightings.

Beautifully situated on the Bay, whether one is just out for a day or evening stroll, the area has something for everyone - historical information, casual relaxation/exercise, checking out the visiting boaters' crafts, or just sitting and gazing out over it all, the Park well represents the fine efforts of the area's citizens to create and maintain it at a high level.

Take a load off and enjoy the sights while sitting in one of the wonderful swings, kicking your legs up and rocking back-and-forth in the sun. Ahhhhh.

This park is an idyllic setting excellent for spending a relaxing afternoon. Located in the center of downtown Beaufort, S.C. it is bordered by some very delightful restaurants catering to the epicurean palate, as well as a number of quaint shops for the seeker of various curio items and collectables. The Chocolate Tree is also a favorite for many who love chocolate made in many designs.

This is one of my most favorite places beautiful views lots of shops and places to eat everyone visitors and locals are so friendly the shops are even pet friendly and have food and water bowls available for your pets. Street musicians are wonderful I can not say enough good things about this place.

We just happened to arrive at the park mid-day with some snacks in the car. We sat on a comfortable bench and ate and "people watched." We weren't the only ones having lunch there. There was a class or two of kids from a private school lunching in the playground area (nice playground).
This park is a kind of "linear park" along the water. We walked to the end, which gave us a great view of the Marina. Along the way, there were swinging seats, which we tried out....fun. There are lots of tables and chairs.
This place is probably well known to locals, but it was a great find for us who happened to take a side trip while travelling from Savannah to Charleston.

5 and 4 year old granboys were visiting and they had a ball at the park on the exceptional playground equipment

We really enjoyed strolling in this urban waterfront park. It is a nice connector between the commercial establishments and the water. You can watch the boats in the marina, swing on the adult swings, or let the kids play in the playground. Nicely landscaped with markers explaining some of the history of the area. Even the unhoused residents were pleasant to us! It was fairly quiet while we were there, but we are told that it hosts several community events throughout the year.

The waterfront park is a very nice attraction. Many of the restaurants have outdoor seating which provides a great view of the water.

Just got back from this area, we spent a few days down there last week, this Waterfront Park is beautiful , we really liked the many many swings lined up throughout the edge of the park facing the water, very peaceful , great place to just admire Downtown Beaufort on the water, there are many shops and restaurants also like right there, so you have lots to choose from and explore

Beaufort is small, so you won't miss this quaint and comfortable little park when you visit. sit in the gliders and watch the water. Don't miss the ice cream.

This is a beautiful waterfront park. You can walk along the waters edge and if you go late in the day, you will see a spectacular sunset over the marina filled with boats and the marshy bog near it. A beautiful place to just stroll and enjoy the view.

The Waterfront Park is the recreational center of the town. The harbor/marina is on one side, and shops and restaurants are on the edge of the other side. The city has obviously spent a lot of money on the Park and the other common areas in this vicinity, and it appears to have been money well spent. Very pleasant.

If you are riding through Beaufort, this is a must. Beautiful green space with walking trails, lots of shops, and a playground for kids.

I remember coming to this waterfront park when I was a teenager. It was nice for my wife and I to come back and share this place with my teenage daughter. We took our dog with us and enjoyed a nice walk along the waterfront watching boats pass by.

Very nice waterfront park. In September it gets very quiet about 8 pm. Very nice swings to sit on near the water’s edge. Relaxing.

Wonderful community gathering place. Special events near every other weekend. Sunsets are beautiful nearly every night.

Relaxing, along with a great waterfront view. A few restaurants offering outdoor dining along the edge of the park. Also able to take a nice enjoyable stroll along side of the waters edge, as well as swing & overlook the water. Awesome Park!!!

We’ve outgrown the playground, which children just loved, but now we adults still love to “play” at the waterfront park. It’s pleasant to sit and swing, stroll the marina, watch the sun set over water.

The downtown park has some absolutely beautiful sunsets. The entire views are wonderful but sunsets are the best.

Always enjoy visiting the Waterfront Park. View is fabulous
and there are wonderful restaurants bordering the park.

The Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort is a great park that is beautiful and well maintained. I really like that this park runs a long length of the waterfront and there are there are perfect views of the water no matter where you are at the park. The walkway along the water is well paved and easy to walk. One of my favorite parts is the swings that face towards the water as there seems to be enough swings for everyone to enjoy even when the park is crowded as this is not the case in all waterfront parks that have more limited swing availability. There is also a lot of grass and green space at the park that is perfect for having a picnic or running around. Overall I really enjoyed this park and want to return soon.

The park is an interesting place to walk through but is pretty small and leaves you wondering what’s next?

Great place to sit and enjoy the water view. There are plenty of things to do. Festivals are held in the park often. There are also Great shops and restaurants on the park where you can enjoy the view. They have a playground for the kids and the marina is there also. You can catch a buggy tour of Beaufort as well. My family loves to come to waterfront park.

Great spot facing the water, in town, other shops and venues close by. .Enjoy any time of day. Chill fun vibe.

This lovely site runs along the river with green space, bandshell, large bench swings and beautiful plants. There is a ring of bronze plaques recounting the long history of Beaufort, nearby ice cream and horse-drawn historic carriage tours. Special events like the Gullah festival take place here but it’s a nice place just to sit and enjoy the breeze off the water and watch passing boats.

This park is just a block from all the shops and is a world apart. fun to watch the marshland and at the same time watch the bocci players on the perfect lawn. While we were there, there was an occasional breeze, much appreciated. We got some coffee, and then we ate at one of the restaurants facing the park. All easy and beautiful.

This park is beautiful! I love visiting Beaufort and enjoying the waterfront park. Relaxing in the shade, swinging, overlooking the water is so peaceful and relaxing. Short walk to great shops and historic homes.

There are bench swings all along the walk overlooking the water and marina. There are plenty of spits to grab a coffee or icecream and then enjoy the park.

Went to Beaufort and walked around the park on a nice summer eveing. There were also lots of swings that we sat in and enjoyed the view of the water, the boats, and even the car traveling over the bridge. There was a little flower bed with black-eyed susans in the middle that had a number of plaques around the outside that contained lots of interesting information on the area and various people. It was a nice little park. We also went back during the day and sat in the swings while we had some ice cream and enjoyed the view and breeze again. Nice time.

Definitely put this on your list if you're in Beaufort- just lovely to walk around here. Thew view of the water is great.

We stopped at one of those “Peach Cider” stands that are so abundant in South Carolina and the nice young lady told us we should visit Beaufort. Since we’re always on the lookout for cool new places to have a picnic, we took a little detour to explore and found this beautiful waterfront park. It has the coolest picnic tables and chairs – they’re actually tables with chairs, not the normal picnic table – we loved it! While we were there, the bridge opened to let a sailboat through so that was pretty cool entertainment for our picnic. There’s a lovely walk along the river, complete with vine covered swings. Beaufort should be very proud of this beautiful public space.

The waterfront is beautiful and very peaceful. The restoration projects looked great, and the landscape was amazing!!!

this was a great walk on the river front in a lovely town. Great history behind the waterfront pard and the town itself.

The waterfront has wonderful 2 person swings along the walkway. Sit a spell (southern style) watch the boats heading to Florida or out for a day. Then head behind the walkway to enjoy the restaurants, galleries, and shopping. A few more blocks and you can take a carriage ride or walk the old town.

This is a very nice park on the Beaufort river. It’s a great idea to find a restaurant on Bay street and eat lunch on their back patio facing the park and the waterfront. It’s also a real nice place to take a stroll. On the one end is there is the marina area where pleasure boats come in to see Beaufort. There is a large parking lot here where they have a small but nice nautical shop that sells nautical maps, Sperry shoes, nice tourist T-Shirts (we found the best quality T-shirts in Beaufort at this place) and you can also get tickets to various sites in Beaufort here. The shop is small but has a lot of nice things that they sell to the boats that come in. There is a laundry shop and restrooms nearby as well.

Located in the national historic district this waterfront park extends for blocks along the Beaufort River with it's beautiful southern/tropical landscaping, Flowers, Camellias, Magnolias and Palms grace the park as well as an impressive collection of Sago palms. Restaurant back decks and patios flow down to the park that includes a pavilion, stage and amphitheater. There is a marina and with rest rooms as well as winding paths throughout. Many festivals and events are held in the park all year. Walking the park on a warm late summer evening was fantastic.

One of the prettiest places in Beaufort, and a great gathering spot for locals and visitors. Many great restaurants on the edge of the park, beautiful views of boats and the bridges. Lovely curving pathways and beautiful landscaping. Money well spent - thanks to Mayor Chambers - !

Beautiful and well kept park. Great play ground for kids. Easy walk from hotels and B&Bs around town. Lot of restaurants to choice from at the edge of the park.

Just a great place to kick back, walk around and enjoy the scenery... plenty to take in, plenty to enjoy.

I love the waterfront park. And thought the Gullah Festival would be a fun way to check out the culture. We got tickets for a sweetgrass basketmaking class, but unfortunately when we arrived the materials for the class were nowhere to be seen. There weren't enough chairs and people were crowded under a couple of small tents. After a half hour standing in the heat and still no materials, we decided to leave. All in all, poorly organized and no surprise the event wasn't well attended.

We walked the whole park on a early summer Friday and enjoyed ice cream during our stroll. The place is beautiful.

The waterfront park in Beaufort, SC is one of the prettiest and most peaceful places on earth - and I've been to a lot of places on this earth. The swings, the water, the Woods Memorial Bridge, the amphitheater, the restaurants, the playground, .... I could go on and on. You just have to see it for yourself! A sunrise or a sunset- eat dinner with a view of the Harbour River- grab an ice cream cone after dinner - walk along the path beside the water and watch the dolphins... the opportunities are endless! Beaufort is my next home - just as soon as I can make it happen!

This waterfront park is a real plus for downtown Beaufort. Nice in the day and the evening or morning. All along the riverfront. There are swings to enjoy along the way. The trees and landscaping is beautiful. There are also restaurants and other establishments along the way. Enjoy the quiet moments of nature and the sights.

We could not get over how awesome this park is. The large swings facing the water were my favorite, but everything is perfect, it is very clean, family friendly, and steps away from fabulous restaurants! We cannot wait to return ❤️

My wife & I stopped for lunch in Downtown Beaufort on our drive from Charleston to Savannah, based on repeated recommendations from a family member & the owners of our South Carolina lodging spot. The town was what we expected, and our lunch was very good, but HC Chambers Waterfront Park was a HUGE bonus for our sunny day stopover. The park runs along the scenic Beaufort River and its small marina, and the public spaces are thoughtfully integrated with the Downtown businesses along Bay Street. The property was clean and the landscaping attractive during our early November visit, leading us to imagine how beautiful the Park would be in spring & summer. Plenty of places to pause & sit & enjoy the scenery, plus a well-equipped children's playground and grassy areas for play & picnics. HC Chambers Park is one of the more attractive & pedestrian friendly green spaces we've encountered during our travels around the U.S., and we'd recommend a visit if you are ever in the region.

Nice place to take a walk, have coffee, take in the sun. Sit on swinging chairs and take in the view.

Swings, green areas and access to stores, restaurants, and Main Street. The park is a wonderful place in a beautiful town.

This park has not changed a bit from 2012 until now. Took my wife recently to walk in the park and watch the sunset while enjoying some ice cream and had a blast! Very close to all the downtown businesses.

Winding along the bank of the Beaufort River, the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park offers lovely paths, stretches of grass, swings and benches from which to experience the charm of the area. On the west end of the park is a small marina and on the east edge of the park is the Woods Memorial Bridge where Forrest Gump ran in that classic film from 1994. Just a short walk south from Bay Street and close to bars and restaurants, the park also has restrooms and parking nearby.

I love the swings. Nice to sit and watch the water. Great place to take a break while shopping. For those with children there is a nice playground.

The area next to the bay is a very nice spot to walk. There are restaurants, benches, etc. It is really pretty and calming! It made me want to move to Beaufort.

They tuck this park in behind main street so do not miss it. Great place to escape and sit for awhile and just be. They have swings along the water where you can just sit and watch the water and sit a cold drink or have a picnic. I highly recommend!

This is a beautiful waterfront park. Great views of the river, marshes, bridges and boat docks. It has lots of swings to sit in to enjoy the views.

Relax on the swings, enjoy the breeze and watch the boats pass by. This park is a little slice of heaven. It is very well maintained.

It is a beautiful park. You can learn about the history of Beaufort, enjoy the shopping, get an ice cream cone and sit and swing and enjoy the view. So enjoyable we love visiting this area. Oh, and after you rest up and have a desirable parking place take a carriage ride. You will love it. We did.

The park is very scenic. You can have a nice walk along the water or sit in a swing and enjoy the breeze from the water. A very nice way to spend a few hours.

The waterfront park is a beautiful place to people or boat watch. Enjoy a leisurely stroll or sitting peacefully in the beautiful swings.

What a picturesque area! Lovely bench swings over the harbor and marsh view. We watched the bridge open and saw dolphins. There is a lovely lawn and plenty of places to stroll or rest. There's also a playground - it's under construction but looks like it will be great.

The Shrimp Festival was fun but bless you finding a place to park. The City focused on making sure the “vendors” had plenty of parking but although we paid for parking, parked in a spot another car pulled out of, tried to follow all the rules, spent several hours and dollars art the festival, we somehow received a parking ticket. We thought it was some kind of bad joke but then we got a letter in the mail saying the ticket had now escalated to $50 and would soon escalate to $75.
Visit Beaufort if you like but I hope unlike us over a month later you’re not still paying the wages of the parking police!

Take time to swing on the swings by the water. Relaxing, calm, and plenty of restaurants for when you get hungry.

Nicely maintained park with lots of swinging benches to watch water and a play area for the kids. Open meadows to run and play games. Plenty of parking in town.

We walked there on a Sunday and enjoyed the view from one of the swings. In particular we enjoyed the historical overview provided at the far end of the park. It’s a town that has seen many ups and downs during time.
Beautiful park, enjoyed the spectacular view and sunset and relaxing on the swings. Walked the park both days on our visit to Beaufort.
