We love go take our family of 5 to see the Hickory Crawdads play. Wednesday is KIDS NIGHT. They get in free AND receive free food vouchers for a hot dog, chips and a drink + vouchers for the SPEED BALL, CAROUSEL, and BOUNCE HOUSE. You can't beat the deal and it is ALWAYS fun to watch them play. The stadium is clean, easily accessible, and easy to find.

Great family friendly atmosphere at the ballpark with lots of activities for children. The staff and management are outstanding. My only gripe is that every viewing angle of the field is obscured by protective netting. It really limits fan access to the players and takes away from the game.

Went for a fun filled family night out with the kids and my husband. Had a great time and kids enjoyed it. Love making memories and having the stadium close to visit.

My good friends son is on this team but was in Spokane rehabbing at the time of our visit. Of course we had great seats (1st row) right next to the dugout. Even though he was NOT playing there we still enjoyed our time and the team. We saw many good players and maybe a few that will make it to the MLB. The venue itself was pure minor league through and through. Friendly people ans staff and well worth the price. Would attend a game here anytime.

We caught a Crawdads games as part of a road trip around Western NC. We bought 5 "family fun pack" tickets and were surprised to find that the tickets came with a meal voucher that got us $9 worth of food per person, meaning our seats were effectively $2 apiece, plus the Etix service charges. The food was actually pretty good for ballpark fare, just hotdogs, fries, and soda, but it came out hot and fast.
The game itself was a lot of fun. The night we visited was a "Christmas in July" promotion, so there were a lot of Christmas-themed activities and games run between innings, including a present-wrapping contest, a present-opening contest, and a guy dressed as the Grinch patrolling the stands. There were two different opportunities to get the kids on the field for a mascot chase and a run the bases, which were both great fun for the kiddos, and the evening ended with a fireworks display.
Even with $3 parking, beers for adults, and souvenirs for the kids, we still made it out of the stadium having spent less than $100. All in all, a pretty fun way to spend a summer evening.

The Crawdads have a beautiful ball park -very spacious, comfortable seats, things for kids to do. And better than average food served café style in right field. Several local craft beers and decent food make for a relaxing time at the game. It is a great place to take visitors and business guests. Lots of between innings "attendee games' that are fun to watch.

Nice ballpark and good atmosphere. Prices are not bad for a minor league baseball game. Something to do other than bowling or the movies from time to time.

I have been to several games at the Stadium, over the past 15 years and have always had a good time. The food is good and the staff is very helpful in assisting you to the correct seat. It is a great place to take the children and spend quality time watching the Crawdads play ball. It is very affordable, and the fireworks shows they have on certain nights are excellent. They also have great give-a-ways for the first several hundred thru the gate on special nights.

Great ball park with the standard ball park food. Decent beer selection at a good price especially on a Tuesday night when they offer $2 crafts. Can get a great seat (not a bad one in the house) for very reasonable price. If you sit near the visiting dugout be prepared to listen to a very entertaining season ticket holder

This was a fun state of the art ballpark that is slipping day by day. The "pit" behind home plate in the bleachers looks like a ghetto. The concrete in the grandstands could use a good powerwashing. Behind the first base dugout the storm drain was emitting a smell so repugnant, my family had to move to different seats. Dump a gallon of clorax down that thing.
It's worth the trip, but could be so much better with a little simple extra effort.

I took my students on a student day and they only charged each student $5.00 and they received entry, a hot dog, chips and a drink. They let teachers in free!

Easy to get to, pretty ample parking, nice stadium werein almost all seating has good views. A little less entertainment between innings than the Winston-Salem Dash.

I am not a very big fan of Minor League baseball, as I grew up in a Major League City. However, with a trip to watch the Crawdads, I became a fan. Was fun to watch the future of the Majors play, and great seats were available. Food was awesome, and Crawford is a great mascot!

We've been regulars for the past 4 seasons. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Food and drink are reasonably priced. I've got tickets for al least 7 games and we'll definitely go more than that.

Wow what a great stadium. Christmas in July theme. The 7th inning was really exciting with 6 runs. Kids ran bases in between innings.
Fireworks on Friday was outstanding.
Great family outing.

My grandson has a friend that plays on the team, so we went to watch him play. The stadium was small but very nice and easy to get around. The parking was nice with easy access to the stadium. The Crawdads's did not have a good day, but we had a wonderful time!

This is a great stadium for ball games! Parking is $3 and very convenient. There is a restaurant on the 3rd base side that anyone can access and food is reasonable for a stadium. Beer specials on Tuesday and Thursday are a great deal as are other promotions throughout the season. We enjoy the staff and other fans as well! Great place to watch a baseball game.

Great family place. Good fireworks too. They also give free tickets for us to give to anyone who brings is donation of baby items.

I have attended games and rented space at the ball park.
Both have been wonderful experiences
Renting was a breeze and our event went off without a hitch and any time I go to games it is a blast
They have a kids zone, opportunity of advertising, VIP boxes, great hotdogs and I love the fireworks
Most any seat is a good seat because it is not that big
They also have a connecting park for picnics and relaxing.
Big parking lot, 5 lane easy access from 321

A hidden gem. Very nice staff that makes the experience fun for family, friends or business. Texas Rangers affiliate with very talented players.

Fireworks, giveaways, dog days . . . There is fun every day the 'Dads are in town. Check in with customer service when you get there to sign up to play games for fun prizes.

My husband and I belong to a Combat Veterans Group in Catawba County and it consists of Veterans who have been in war. Each year on the Memorial Day weekend, the Hickory Crawdads make a night for Veterans and we go as a group. They have good food, bouncy houses and games for the children, funny skits on the field and sometimes fire works. Great place to take the family and get involved with their antics!! Oh yeah, they also play a great game.

Always fun for the whole family. Fireworks after games are a great ending to a ballgame with friends and family.

Basic ball park, basic fair food, beer a bit over priced (basic), it was very clean.

I went and had fun for the most part. Me and a friend went to get out, was having fun until I ordered a mixed drink from the Cafe Do NOT order a long island ice tea....Got sick because the woman making the drink put nothing, but whisky sour in the drink. made me so sick we ended up leaving in the middle of the game, I puked all the way to the car. NOT a good finish for the night. Just think the woman was in to big of a rush. So no good review,

Kids and their families are a big focus, but there is something for everyone. Besides darn good baseball their are family friendly concerts, Friday Night Fireworks, a craft beer and wine offering and more. Even the normal ballpark food offerings are kicked up a notch or two...with fresh made sandwiches and areas to relax and eat on tables...of course all the regular ballpark fare is there....hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, peanuts, popcorn, etc.
Who goes to the games? Everyone...there are kid parties complete with an optional bouncy house. In addition, there are "suites" and "party patios" (very comfortable, not too upscale, but with dedicated food service personnel) for office or family parties...there is a dedicated picnic area for larger group events. It's all put together seamlessly, and it all works well (once the seasonal staff overcomes their opening day jitters). What does all this cost? It's very very reasonable (in my opinion) ...Regular price seats just $9...with groups it drops down to $6....and there are always promotions that could get you in free!
If you haven't been out to the ballpark in a while....come see what you have been missing. FYI: the ballpark now has a much larger scoreboard and video screen.

Went for the first times and thoroughly enjoyed the great spirit and hometown atmosphere. The cost is very reasonable and the food was good and very well priced compared to similar venues.

Nice time for an inexpensive night out. Easy to get to, clean, friendly staff, and good prices on food and drink. Would go again.

As minor league baseball fans, my wife and I attended a Crawdads game in April. Very nice stadium with good seating arrangements. Not used to having to pay for parking, but otherwise prices were in line with other Class A ballparks.

Baseball, hometown fun at a reasonable price. What more could one ask for? The seats are comfortable, the antics between innings are entertaining, the game moves at a good clip. There is usually some type of promotion going on for extras, such as $1 hot dog night and most Friday night games there is a fireworks show afterwards.

I love minor league baseball because of it's complete lack of pretension. In addition to being more family-friendly (i.e. - affordable), the whole aspect of a small-scale stadium nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains is just pure Americana.
My daughter and I were in town to visit and tour a local university, and had an evening to kill. For $8.00, we had some of the best seats in the house (the very front row behind the right-handed batter's box), and my 17-year old (non-baseball loving) daughter was kept interested through the game by the between-inning entertainment, which included kids' baserunning contests, trivia, and other fun activities which tied the evening together. She also was intrigued by the fact that a majority of the players were barely older than she was and were already out in the world living on their own and earning their living playing baseball. Granted, a minor league baseball salary isn't exactly earning a GREAT living to you or me, but through the eyes of the young bird preparing to leave the nest...
Finally (and this is important for the adults), it was also a "Thirsty Thursday", which meant one dollar Pepsi's (for her) and one dollar beers (for me!), another phenomenon which doesn't exist outside the minor league ball park.
Hand the car keys to the teenager and have a good time!!!

The stadium offers good activities for children and excellent fireworks. Food choices are low end and overpriced. The worst part of watching a game is spending over an hour trying to merge into traffic.

Hickory Crawdads baseball is a great family outing. Smoke-free, inexpensive, lots of parking, great ballpark food and full for all ages!

Great place to watch a game. Food is good, I recommend the BBQ, staff is friendly safety net projects all the seats. Can't wait to go back.

It was our first visit. Very nice stadium. Affordable parking and tickets. Nice evening out with friends. All are “cashless”. Bring your $ card.

Fun for all ages! Baseball, play area, food, drink, entertainment and activities that are non-stop. My son had his birthday party there a couple years ago (they have great packages to choose from) and not only did he love it but some of the kids that came had their own parties there afterward, as well. He has also been on several baseball teams that have set up different events for the teams, either end of year awards or just a team "party" night and it has been a great experience every time.

As with most minor league parks, the best part about LP Frans is the atmosphere and approach to the families that attend the game. Great time!

Awesome! Had a great time. Colton Dixon was amazing! The sound was great and he came right up to our seats. We'll definitely be back.

Great small city pro baseball facility! It is fun to watch the Crawdads play. Baseball food and beverages available.
Beer and baseball, people watching!

We attended opening night. I was surprised there was a fee to park. There was a good line but it was moving swiftly. The stadium is nice and inviting. They had fun things you could do, like test how fast you could throw a ball. There were lots of concessions to choose from to include beer and wine. The wine seemed very popular. Military get in free, thank you! You choose what area you'd like to sit in. There were lots of families, couples, young people and older. And the crawdads won!!

I walked my dog at the stadium and came up on a backpack blower. Found a man getting into a jeep and let him know about the blower at the dumpster. He ask me if I would like some tickets to a game and I replied, that would be great. He gave me his card and said to give him a call. I looked at the card and it was the crawdads general manager. So, I called him Friday of this past week and requested the tickets. He said they would be at Will Call. The game was awesome and all the workers were very friendly and helpful. We had a great time. Thank you Mark Seaman

Great seats in this stadium! Good fire works on Friday nights. Good place to take the kids for a night of fun! I have worked in concessions there many times also!

Great place to go see real baseball. Club works hard to make all welcome and involve younger kids. When we went it was decided to get a dog and beer in their "restaurant" expensive but also very poor service then long waits. If you go to a gam make sure you eat first.

The Hickory Crawdads is a great ballpark!!!! I recommend not going on a Thursday night especially if you have kids because this is the day they have Thirsty Thursday were draft beers are a $1.00. The Crawdads are a great team and they have a lot of promotional nights. The best deal is getting the box seats which you can buy a package and get four seats, hotdogs, and drinks all included!!!

Great venue, fun theme nights, fantastic fireworks! Hickory Crawdads baseball game great night out for family and friends.

An exciting night of baseball and hotdogs is always good family fun. Try to go to a game at least once or twice a season if not every week. Great value for the price.

Thirsty Thursdays are great for minor league baseball atmosphere. There is usually a great crowd for the prices and entertainment which in turn makes for a great Baseball atmosphere. The folks at the stadium have always been real pleasant and helpful.

Went to the July 3rd game and it was a good one. I recommend getting the picnic table package as it comes with the ticket, seats and all you can eat for 1 1/2 hrs. Great seats to watch the game from and even better for the fireworks.

The ball games are a lot of fun and always has different activities going on even though the team is a low A team for the Texas Rangers.

Few things better than baseball on a summer evening. LP Frans Stadium is a fine minor league park; there's not a bad seat there. Extra netting to protect fans is a great addition. Many nights there are long lines at the concessions, especially when only one (typically on the 3rd base side) is open.

Its minor league but great fun. The staff at the ballpark work hard to entertain and engage the fans. Food is good and reasonably priced. This is a great place to bring your family, have a party or celebration. There is plenty of places for special events or small groups.

LP Frans Stadium is the home for the Hickory Crawdads, the Texas Rangers' single A minor league baseball team. Built in 1993 with a capacity of 5,062, the Crawdads Stadium still seems like a newer facility.
This is a great and relatively inexpensive ($9 per person) night's family entertainment. Also, on the night we were there, if you wore a Superhero costume, you got free admission. There is some type of special promotion 7 days a week. The quality of play is good, but more importantly there are lots of activities to entertain the kids. My children liked:
1. The fireworks. They had a very nice 10+ minute fireworks show at the end of the Friday night game.
2. Halfway through the game between the top and bottom of the fifth inning, practically every child in the stadium "ran the field" from 3rd base to first. This is BIG kid entertainment.
3. For one buck, kids (and adults) can throw 3 pitches into a small inflatable and see how fast they can throw.
4. All kids like Dip 'N Dots. My kids think this is an essential part of a Hickory Crawdads outing.
5. Hickory is a hot place, so they have 2 big high-powered cooling fans on the main concourse. I observed that getting cool is a close second to talking into the fan.
6. There is evidently a Mr. AND Mrs. Crawdad mascot. Another kid magnet.
7. Twice during the game, a man throws about a dozen t-shirts into the crowd from the top of each dugout. This brings every kid to their feet.
8. After the game is over, every child in the stadium lines up to run the bases from first to home. I don't think one child in the stadium missed this apparent bucket-list opportunity.
Highly suggest the night games to beat the heat, and to occasionally enjoy a great fireworks show.

The grandchildren sure enjoy seeing a game on Wednesday night. Besides watching a great baseball game, the kids get in free. They also receive for free a hot dog, bag of chips, & a drink. Plus, a voucher for the bounce house, carousel, & fast pitch. It is well worth watching the Crawdads play. The staff is top notch. The seats are great. Conrad interacts with the children & takes pictures with them.

Always enjoy a fun evening with the Hickory Crawdads and fireworks! There's always something fun to do and participate in.

It's minor leagues, so it's fun. All the shenanigans that one would expect at a minor league game along with the average prices for food and drinks. Suggestion- sit on the 3rd base side to stay out of the sun.

There's no other experience like it...being at the baseball field with or without your family. You can't help but get caught up in the fun. The food is great and everyone is friendly. Great fireworks and ways to keep you occupied

They serve Chik-Fil-A sandwiches! Need I say more? Well, okay, I'll say a bit more. This is a clean stadium with seats without obstructing views. Promotions are fun (although they could be done better) and they have some great Christian artists in for concerts. Parking ($3) is fairly close and the lot seems safe. Come on out to support your Hickory Crawdads!

In this area of NC, there are not many sporting venues, but, you can count on the Hickory Crawdads to offer some small town sporting fun. It's minor league ball but the play is usually exciting (if you like baseball). Lots of fun little events in between innings, usually involving crowd. Regular amenities available, including beer, and the prices are very reasonable. Check for special events like give-aways, concerts and there are usually fireworks after every home game, with a pretty good show on July 4th.

Hickory Crawdads has had some major renovations and is a wonderful place for the whole family to visit. From the very young to the very old. There is always lots going on to entertain everyone aside from the baseball. Food, drinks, gift shop, amusements and more. Very affordable too!

I have grown up going to baseball games here and it's always such fun. The stadium is always clean and the staff is always friendly. They always recognize my family. There is always entertainment going on between the innings and the food isn't too expensive. Definitely recommend going to a game. It's always a place to make wonderful memories.

Great stadium. Creative and friendly staff. Had a great time. Crawdads also have great gear. Bring money for pro shop.

Nice park and people are great. We enjoyed the 4th of July fireworks this year. Craft beer selection as well!! Made it a good time.

If you like baseball you will enjoy the Crawdads at L.P. Frans Stadium. All the ballpark atmosphere is there to be enjoyed in a clean, family atmosphere including hotdogs and cold beverages.

From the sound effects, music, excitement, food and on field activities, you will be sure to have loads of fun! Especially fun for kids.

We always enjoy the Crawdad's baseball game. Thursdays includes drink specials on Pepsi and beer for a dollar. There is even food specials. Always a treat!

My wife and I headed out to see the C"Dads recently. We had not been for a while, but we had a few coupons for half price seats. The stadium is nice, and we enjoyed the outing.

A very beautiful Single A minor league stadium. very friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

I attended the Rome Braves vs Hickory Crawdads game on Sunday evening May 31, 2015. I was seated in Section K, Row B Seat 1 directly behind home plate (the only place to watch a baseball game). L.P Frans Stadium was the 83rd minor league stadium in which I have watched a baseball game and I can say without equivocation it is the finest Low A level stadium I have visited. Everything about this stadium is great (although the lines at the 3rd base concession stand were a bit long). The physical setting, the seats, the hyper-helpful staff, and best of all the Crawdad's win in extra innings made this a memorable experience. I wish I lived closer to Hickory because I would love to attend more games here.

A great place to take the family of any age out for some entertainment. Even if you or yours don't follow baseball, you'll get caught up in the fun of the game and activities. Fair prices on food and drinks. Great seating for viewing the game.

Always a good time. Look for coupons in the local magazines, etc. They offer family specials which include meals.

Really nice and clean stadium. One of the most affordable things to do with a family with family packs of tickets that include food and drinks.Fun for all ages for an enjoyable experience.

This is a beautiful stadium in Hickory, NC. Lots of give-a-ways during the season. Easy assess from 321

The Crawdads have been in Hickory 25 years now. We have enjoyed every game we have attended win or lose. A very nice stadium upgraded 2 years ago. There many things to do besides just watching great baseball in our hometown. When in Hickory, come to a game. You'll be glad you did. And...if you come on a night with fireworks, you will get a show as good as or better than any fireworks display anywhere.

This is a fantastic family venue. The Crawdads organization really know how to entertain the fans through quality baseball and mid inning entertainment!

Surprising active. I'm not much of a baseball fan but go to support the team. Lots of promos for good pricing and free give-a-ways, who doesn't like that. But when you go to actually watch the game, you can't understand what the PA announcer is saying. The sound is extremely muffled, I found myself becoming frustrated and straining to figure out what he was saying.

The Crawdads park is a very nice family atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and friendly...Something going on every Inning, give aways and stuff for the kiddies. Very good time for a wonderful price, a great value for the money!

Our family always has a wonderful time at Crawdads games. The stadium is easily accessible, great parking,.and family friendly. We plan to return many more times next season.

This is a beautiful stadium There's not a single bad seat, and the announcements are clear and easy to understand. Great place to watch a ballgame!

This stadium is very nice and the environment is very good for families. For the little ones there is a carousel and bouncy house. And of course for the adults, there is good baseball for a good price.

Having lived in several major league cities I’ve really come to love going to these games.
Small stadium in great shape. Staff really friendly and very family friendly. Solid ballpark food at reasonable prices especially when compared to a giants or Phillies game. Tuesday is dollar dog night and 2 dollar craft beers. Fun small town promotions though I miss the build a burger contest ...It’s a great night out ...oh the the team is so so but that’s not really the point !

This is a good thing to do with your kids. You can enjoy the game and on some nights watch the fireworks after. They have several dates with promotions for free items.

My husband and I spend a LOT of time at the Crawdad games! Staff is great, games are fun, food is cheap and they support their troops!! Military gets 2 free tickets a game. Not only that, it is SOMUCH FUN.

Enjoyed seeing Crawdads win while eating hot dogs & seeing fans dressed in Halloween costumes...fan theme night. Fun reasonable way to spend an evening.

It's baseball...what more can you say about it?!!! We had a fantastic time. We have gone to Hickory on several occasions to see them play.

I've been to 2 games this month with my family. We enjoyed great seats, fun times, good ball park food and drinks, easy parking and the entry was about what I would have paid to go see a movie. These players are fun to watch!

No matter how many times you've been, this place always seems to generate that same feel of excitement. Great way to spend a Friday evening out with the family! I was there recently and found that they have started carrying craft beer on tap! Very Cool! Way to go guys. Will be back for sure!

If you like baseball or a place to go to meet people come to a game. Kid friendly too! Chance to see up and coming baseball stars too.

This was the first time I’d ever seen a baseball game. My American friends took me. It was a lovely experience even if I didn’t understand the rules. I was as much taken by audience participation as I was the game. Even enjoyed the food and beer! Hope I get to visit again!

Fun local activity. Tickets are cheap. Very family oriented but fun also for singles. Thirsty Thursday!-all drinks only 1 dollar

If your local or a traveler a good minor league baseball game can be fun. I've seen a lot of major leaguers come through here and play, and enjoy the fun time. Usually crowds are not a problem except on big weekends like July 4th or when they have concert nights.

Very enjoyable experience for everybody in our group. The staff was exceptional and they won. If that want enough we also had a fireworks show

Company outing with clients and kids. The staff was very accommadating to our needs and took very good care of us. A lot of action on the field with players and between innings, kids games. Conrad the Crawdad mascot came by and thrilled the kids. Taking photos and goofing around for the families.Food better than I expected with burgers, hotdogs and popcorn. Thirsty Thursdays have Beer specials too. Don't forget the fireworks show, some of the best to witness.Great fun for the whole family or group of friends, all ages.

Great time, lots of people, and even some baseball lol. only go on thirsty Thursdays because the prices are much better but if you like baseball its really hickory's only sport to watch. Hickory is kinda a joke all the way around but what you gonna do.

We had an awesome time with co workers and friends. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We were in the picnic area and it was covered, which was great because it started raining really hard after the game. Was so glad to be in that area.

Great stadium, not a bad seat in the house.I love going to the game here.Food Is very reasonably priced and tickets are a steal.Have some peanuts and Cracker Jacks at this stadium and you won't regret it.

Went last night. These guys want to play ball and work hard at what they are doing. Clean, safe and easy to get around ballpark. Enjoyed eating hot dogs and in the picnic area. Good family entertainment at the ballpark. When we have out of town guests, we try to take them to a game.

It was hot, but fun for the family. The seats were good to view the plays. Can't wait until next year.

I took my 20-something team to the Hickory Crawdads game as a team building outing. We had fun! You're very close to the action in a small park like that. It was dollar dogs night and the two hotdogs I got 30 minutes before the game were most likely rewarmed from the previous game. Worst hotdog I've ever had. They would toss hotdogs into the stands between innings and the "lucky" fan that caught them were lucky if the wrapper didn't come open in mid-air. Very casual environment and relaxing. Fun comes as much from the stands as from the field.

Baseball the way it was meant to be -- good play, low cost

Always enjoy a good game and a hotdog. Great family outing or group outing. Sometimes fir re works after game, sometimes concerts, and they have a great place for people to have birthday parties too.

A great time, if you enjoy baseball local style. A great park and a good team. Lots of little added attractions to add to the fun. Enjoyed.

An excellent minor league facility, Good hotdogs and cold beer! A great way to spend an evening. Staff are helpful, the stadium is clean and the level of play is lower Class A.

Typical small town baseball. Nice playground for kids. Have specials for almost every game and fireworks are pretty frequent. Nice location, safe area.

i went to see a game in Hickory on Saturday 6 July and noticed they had a $1 discount for military personnel. i showed my id and they said the military is free and gave me a box seat on the 3rd base side and thanked me for my service. i have had this happen one other time in Lakeland Fl but it was for a special night. to do this every night is awesome and a big thank you to the crawdads for being a class act.
as for the stadium itself, it was a good place to watch the game. the concessions had the usual food but did have chick fil a sandwiches which were hot. they have a special place to eat down the first baseline but i didnt check that out. the stadium also has a small roof portion which helps with the sun and the pouring rain and lighting which happened at my game.
the only negative i had about the stadium is you have to look through the net from virtually every seat in the stadium. i don't like to sit behind the net but understand for safety reasons they have them when most people are not paying as much attention to the game as they do their kids and their phone.

We were there for Showcase Baseball. The facilities are great. The guys live the opportunity to play there and as a parent, I enjoyed the comforts of seats with backs and shaded seats. They have a really good concessions and it's a wonderful family environment

This is a great place to catch some local baseball, and a family friendly environment. I would recommend purchasing your tickets early, and picking them up the day of the game in the morning or at lunch at the will call window. It is much easier to have the tickets in hand when arriving at the field, rather than standing in the forever long line to pick them up at game time. I would also recommend eating before or after the game as everything in the stadium is overpriced. It gets hot in the summer time, so bring sunscreen because your in direct sunlight for almost the entire game (even evening games). I would recommend for families, and especially on firework nights! They put on a great firework show!

The Crawdads have a nice organization, price isn't that high other then the parking..I fill they should add a dollar per ticket and do away with the $3 parking..

Went here and watched a game and enjoyed the game and the ball field. It's a nice facility. I also watched a great concert as well. So go by and root for the Crawdads.

What's not to like! Classic refurbished minor league stadium (reminds me of a miniature Baltimore Orioles stadium); good seats (not just Bleachers); good prices ($9 for reserved seats); good reasonably priced concessions; inexpensive Beer and Soft Drinks; and, oh yeah - good baseball! Best family entertainment and/or date night around

The ballpark is beautiful, especially at sunset, as the sun slides down behind the trees. The fans are electric and the baseball game was just as exciting. The customer service was great and the staff really seems to be interested that the fan has a great time, even if it is your first Hickory Crawdads game or your hundredth. Would recommend this venue to visit and enjoy.

The Crawdads do a great job at keeping their park clean and their prices reasonable! They have a lot of fun events throughout the game. Great fireworks display after games too!

A great place to bring kids, but the food is very expensive. A burger, fries, and a drink = $15.00. I almost broke a tooth eating the French Fries which had set under a lamp for awhile. I had to take them back...Eat somewhere else besides in the park, and you will come out ahead of the game.

Very nice evening of baseball and food for a group of about 50 people as part of a company event. The people serving the food were very helpful and friendly. The craft beer selection was amazing.

L.P. Frans stadium is a great place to catch a game. Good sight lines and the prices are very good. Great entertainment for a good price

This is minor league baseball at its best! The stadium just recently had a facelift the restaurant has been redone and the food is a-1 ,the family friendly events throughout the season and budget friendly prices for tickets, this has become a very popular thing to enjoy with my family, we are looking forward to this season! GO CRAWDADS!

My family and I always have a great time at the Hickory Crawdads games. The team is pretty good, too. The food and drinks are not too high-priced, and the people are friendly. It's a fairly economical way to have a nice family outing and enjoy some baseball.

Facility was beautiful. Game was awesome and all kids were involved that attending if they wanted. Very family friendly Stadium

Love the atmosphere and the effort the crew puts in to keep fans entertained. The food and drink options are suffice and the stadium is well taken care of. Love firework Fridays!

We have been going to the Crawdad games for several years, but didn't get to go last year. he stadium has been remodeled since the last time that we went and I love the upgrades to the seats. It looks great and we were glad that we decided to go. The staff do a great job with the promotions and getting the crowd involved in crazy things like dizzy bat and jeep races. The staff is very friendly and very accomodating to make sure that guests have a great experience. My son caught a ball and they took to down to get it signed by the players, which made his evening special. The game itself was a great one and it was fun to watch. We can't wait to go back to another game!

The family can come to the crawdads game and have some food for less than the price of one major-league ticket. Get a seat close to the dugout, you can watch, hear and understand the strategies being put in place.
Not only is the event a lot of fun but it is truly a building block for the young players to get to the major leagues.

My Husband and visited for the first time, and we loved it.
There's a carousel for the kids, and other kids games.
They offer a quick comedy entertainment between innings.
We also were pleased with the prices our seats were $8 and we sat 5 rows away from the Field.
Food can get pricey, like they offer a Chick-fil-A sandwich for $6. But they also offer Tasty Hotdogs for $3, small hamburgers are $4. There's also Popcorn, peanuts, and French fries. Dominos sells small Pizzas for $4, and beverages are Pepsi products either in a 16oz bottle, or fountain drink in a cup with ice.And they also serve Beer, but I'm not sure what the prices are for those.
The game is upbeat, and relaxing. And a great way to get out of the house.
We will definitely go again soon.

Always try to make it out to "Thirsty Thursday" when the "Dads" are in town. Veteran friendly events and discounts (many times free) and $2 barley beverages. Laid back easy atmosphere with super nice folks to tale in America's favorite pastime. Plenty of shade and clean facility from top to bottom. Championship team this year

I was impressed with all the improvements made to the stadium since I'd been there last! The staff were all very, very friendly and helpful. Great family fun for everyone!!!

Nice clean stadium. Not to big and not to small. Perfect. I will go again. Plus the cost is reasonable.

I was in Hickory with my daughter and some friends for a few days and we decided to check out a Crawdads game. We were all glad we did. The ballpark is very nice, with a lot of cool memorabilia on the walls of the concourse. The café is fantastic, with a huge beer selection and a great menu. That is in addition to the regular concessions stand. This was what a true minor league game should be, regardless of who won (the Crawdads did). The PA announcer and the entertainment staff were first class. I attended another minor league game in another city a few days later, and while it was good, it paled in comparison to the show put on by the Crawdads' staff. The sound effects they use, and the dramatic player introductions made for a great atmosphere. One of my favorite references was by the on-field host between innings. He referred to the fans as "Crustacean Nation." Whoever came up with that deserves a raise. I was probably one of the few fans who noticed and appreciated the canned Bob Uecker quotes of "Just a bit outside" when the opposing pitcher threw a wild pitch. Every laughed when Finding Nemo's "Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine...." was played when a foul ball sailed into the stands. These little touches of humor and entertainment made for a great evening that was more than just watching baseball. Oh by the way, the baseball was good too! Both teams (Greenville Drive was the opponent) played solid, skilled baseball that was fun to watch. I plan to attend more games, as I expect to be spending time in Hickory over the next several years.

We went with a group. The food was good and reasonably priced. You can even have a brew if you want!

Great place for the kids to have fun while everyone watches the game. We have been coming all season.

I enjoy going to this small stadium for local ball games. It has open spacing so you can easily get in and out around people. Beer providers make it nice to enjoy a craft beer while I watch the game.

Always a good time at the stadium. Our 4 year old loves it, the bounce house, speed pitch, carousel, he gets to run the bases. Thirsty Thursdays are always a hit, and fireworks on Friday nights make this a great way to spend time with friends or family without spending an arm and a leg!

Cute little park with fun family atmosphere. The people are friendly and between innings there were fan activities. What a great way to spend an afternoon with the family!

The apple pie of American sports has its orchard just off Hwy 321 in hickory. A cozy yet comfortable diamond nestled in the hills.
The ticket are very affordable making this a family friendly outing. A coke and a bag of peanuts won't break the bank either.
Parking is plentiful - let's face it, the park isn't full.
Relax and enjoy a competitive game with skilled players in a comfortable setting. Afternoon or evening games!
Life in the slow lane.

The Crawdad games are a favorite. You can go with a group of kids and not worry too much about tamping down there fun. There are activities for them beyond watching the game and your feel safe letting the kids go off to the bounce house or pitching machine in their own group. The on the field activities, post game base run and/or fireworks, dizzy bat etc. are all great family fun. Take your kids and go.

We went to a game as a family. My daddy loved baseball and this is one of the last places we all went as a fmily with him! Great memories.

Great evening out with friends and family. This is perfect for kids! Plenty to do including free food. The ballpark is very clean and staff is very courteous.

It's an unbelieveble experience to be in. There's a lot of ambiance in the place. You can Watch the game and eat a lot for a very cheap price. If you are a baseball lover or a fan and that you are in the area, I recommend it!

Sunday night sermon on the mound, classic! $9 seats 2nd row behind team dugout, prices on food acceptable and lots for kids to do in the kid zone

great atmosphere, family oriented, inexpensive, they have $ night on Tuesday's; popcorn, drinks, hotdogs, cotton candy. great seats, comfortable and roomy.

very family friendly. lots of fun and excitement whether you are watching the game or letting your kids play on the rides or just socializing with friends.

A not very imaginative use of property. Snack bar offers bottom of the barrel choices. PA destroys the atmosphere. Parking is a nightmare.

Average minor league ball park experience. The one major downside is the foul ball netting goes all the way out to the fair poles. I found in very distracting have to look through it from my seat on the 3rd base side. The angle you have to look though it severe to see home plate. They also charged to park your car in their parking lot. On the plus side, the snacks were moderately priced and it was bring your dog to the park night!

I feel a baseball game is slow paced and relaxing..nice Ball Park, always excitement between innings..the only wrong thing is parking cost a third the ticket price, $3.00..just raise ticket price a dollar and do away with long lines waiting to pay..come on why $3.00 to park?????

L.P. Frans Stadium is home to the Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League. Great atmosphere at an affordable price for the whole family. Great place to watch future MLBers. Friendly staff and wide variety of concessions.

Want to see a baseball game with all the fun of hot dogs, a mascot and hometime spirit? Come watch the Crawdads play. Remember, Madison Bumgarner started here, and we got to watch him develop into the professional he is today. There is always something extra provided, and this is the perfect way to spend your evening.

We were able to catch one of the last home games of the 2013 season and it was All-Star night. Night game with excellent seats. We logged on the morning of the game and purchased seats for that night. Our seats were front row almost directly behind home plate. Good game, Crawdads, won! Fun between inning entertainment for all the fans. We did not do dinner before hand so we ate in the park. Little high for dinner but good and convenient. Can't wait for next year. We will go back again.

We go a good number of games every year and it's always a great time. Conrad is cool mascot and honestly the lower levels of baseball are just a better experience. A family could easily afford a game a meal, plus there's a play area for the kids.

The staff and owners really try hard to give a good value, good prices and good entertainment. The only problem is the talent of the team just isn't there. You can have a $4,000 really nice TV to watch, but if there are no good shows to watch, that tv isn't doing much good.

Great seats, reasonable prices, good entertainment. Good time for any group. One thing: I wish that people who had beer had to carry it in an unmarked cup. When I went last it was in a bottle. I don't like the kids to see it.

Great hometown baseball. Never a dull moment and a great Team!

Went to see game with family. On Friday nights they have spectacular fireworks. That is definitely worth the price of a ticket. Game was okay.

The only thing that saves this review from being a one star is the construction and design of the stadium, which is great for a lower A ballclub. The problem is operation. Three bullet points:
- NO indication of security whatsoever, outside of one Hickory police SUV outside in a corner of the parking lot. No magnetic wanding or bag check at the gate. This was a night with an overflow crowd due to Tim Tebow playing for the opponent. No ushers, no hired security presence, nothing. No ushers either.
- An arrogant jerk of a fan in row 1 of section 108 with his pal ruined the outing for anyone in that section or sections 107 or 109 adjacent. When I went for a restroom break and stopped by the Crawdads customer service, I was quickly told there was nothing they could do, even though I pointed out the battery charged megaphones the two losers where using. The body language of the CSR showed they've had complaints about the pinheads before and have done nothing. Proof the Crawdads want your $$$ and could care less about fan experience, for adults in the crowd anyway.
- Speaking of restrooms, I've seen cleaner restrooms traveling through Mississippi or Ohio at a rest area on a hot summer afternoon.
The Beaver family is notoriously cheap, it isn't shocking. Case in point, BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte was nice and new five years ago, and is already being cut back and operated on the cheap now that the newness has worn off.

Always a blast at the crawdads!! So much fun watching our minor league baseball team play a game!! The field is so nice and always so many nice people will to help, whether it be finding your seat or helping a child get his/her picture with Conrad the crawdad!! Love our CRAWDADS!!

If you are looking for a great night of family fun on a budget, I would suggest taking in a Crawdads game. We had a great evening.

Went to the stadium for a concert. It was raining heavily. Our seats were under cover....we did not get wet either...made me happy! Very nice and clean stadium. I want to go back for a game next.

The chicken fingers are wonderful! For ballpark food, they have great food at good prices! And the employees are really nice and friendly!

Went here with my son. Nice small park. Can get close yo the field with no problem. Great way to spend a summer afternoon or evening in Hickory.

This is a good family oriented venue for an excellent value for Class A baseball. The field somewhat set down from the parking area and the vantage points are quite good. Additionally, the field offers several alternative seating options including picnic tables. I was there on thirsty thursday and there was a live band playing after the game. No one got out of control or had too much to drink. There's not much around the stadium...eat before you go as the concessions are pretty bland.

All of us enjoy the Crawdad's Games and experiences. They make it a lot of fun, even for the smaller kids.

Inexpensive, American baseball! They offer coupons & family/meal deals. Very family oriented. They have fireworks after many of the weekend games - Excellent Fireworks! Inexpensive enough to go for half the game & stay for the firworks if you have little ones that couldn't make it for the whole game.

we went to ball game enjoyed it very much. the food court was outstanding and the prices was fair parking was good

New facility with many different seating options. Food is reasonably priced and the beer in the Crawdad cafe is decent for a ball park. It's one of the few entertainment options in Hickory worth seeing.

Spent 3 days in Hickory watching The Crawdads. Good baseball, great atmosphere and friendly folks everywhere. Take the kids, the grand parents and spend a wonderful inexpensive evening watching young men play their hearts out!

This ballpark is such a great asset for Hickory and the surrounding area. Not many small towns/cities have such a well planned facility. Looks and feels like a major league ballpark.

Enjoy America's favorite past time by bringing your dog to the ball park. This annual event sponsored by the Catawba County Humane Society gives you and your pet the opportunity to "Bark in the Park". Be careful, Fido will be watching as you consume the popular 8 ounce "Dogzilla" with fries and your favorite cold beverage. Run the bases with your dog and fetch a foul ball hit into the bleachers. Howling at the umpires is encouraged. Leash laws are enforced. Water and relief stations are well marked. Please be a responsible dog owner and clean up after your pets.

Happened to be in hickory and saw the billboard that they had a game that night. We grabbed a quick dinner and went to the game. What a great deal. We got excellent seats on the third base line right over dugout. Game was good between innings entertainment was a blast! Concessions were reasonable. We can't wait for next season so we can plan many nights at the field.

I've been going to games since the first season. Fireworks after every Friday night home game, almost everything a major league stadium has without the major league prices.
take me out to the ball game
What a great ball stadium. Great facility, fun place for adults and kids. Thirsty Thursdays - beers are $1.00. Gotta go
