If you are dog lover - great beach!! But if you are just trying to have a nice walk on the beach you will encounter many dogs not on leashes. It is such a treat to come into shore on a surfboard or a body board and have some strange dog staring you in the face. Then there are the dog owners who do not clean up after their dogs and have an attitude when you point out to them that there are plastic bag dispensers. Finally there is way to much beach designated as "Dog Beach"; especially since the City of Huntington Beach does not have the resources to properly enforce the basic rules.

Long stretch of beach for dogs to swim, fetch and play with their friends. We've never had a bad experience here. People seem to keep it clean, are friendly and the dogs are all so happy. I do wish there was water available to wash sand off the dogs when leaving and also for them to drink. Bags are available in case you forget to bring some.

I love coming here with my family and doggie. I have two young children and they love watching all the dogs running around and socializing with each other. Dogs are typically off leashes, and roam freely. It's great having a public space where dog owners can be less restricted, but be responsible at the same time. Generally the waves are a little tamer away from the pier. This part of the beach has less of the crowds, the downside is that it is street meter parking.

We love dog beach! We've been coming for years. So many off leash dogs playing and running, chasing each other, running in the waves. There's just something about it, all the dogs just look like they are having so much fun! My only qualm is that you should obviously always be watching your dog and if they poop, the owner needs to be on it right away because there's so many dogs and people that could step in it. For the most part, owners are really good about it but it seems like there's always a few that don't - which is annoying.

By Sinthea S |

This beach is so beautiful and the vibes are so good. Feels like I'm in dog heaven every time we go there with our dogs. Many happy friendly dogs running around playing with just about everybody.

By Adam L |

This dog friendly beach is great. It is around 2 miles long & your dogs can be unleashed. Get there early though as parking can be a problem after 9am, especially on the weekends. Remember to respect this jewel and pick up after your doggie.

Our golden retriever loves to fetch the ball by diving into the surf and playing with other dogs at this beach. Aggressive dog owners do a good job controlling their dogs if necessary and there is a restroom and doggy bag dispensary at the entry to the beach. Make sure you bring money for parking. You must buy a ticket at the vending machines located in the parking lot, credit cards accepted and put ticket in window. Overall, though the beach is quite busy, you are able to walk without crowding about 1/2 mile from entry in either direction. Some people just settle down close to entry area and let the dogs entertain themselves. If you really don't want to pay for parking, you may be able to find free parking on PCH or Goldenwest, but be prepared for a 5-10 minute walk to entry. Coming west on Goldenwest, make a right on PCH, there are 3 parking lots next to the beach, all lead down to the beach, but the farthest one has the least steep walk down to beach with restroom and bag dispensary.

I remember when my dog was a puppy he literally took off to the pier way beyond the dog beach. That was 14 years ago and hundreds of trips later and millions of good times. He is 14 now and still enjoys just going up top and smelling the salty air from the grass as he can now barely walk. Doggy bags available for waste pickup and lots of friendly dogs to greet. My dog in his golden years but I will always remember the HB dog beach as his favorite destination.

By jojobun |

Love the idea of a dog beach, but it's not the best idea for a little dog. There are too many big dogs and my little pup, Coco, tends to get knocked over by the big guys! Parking is also a bit of a problem because you usually have to park really far away and walk down to the beach.

By Pitbull168 |

Great location for you and the dog to take a nice walk or run ! Very well kept up and a safe neighborhood.

By addiestephs |

Less than 5 minutes into arriving at the dog beach 2 dogs attacked my dog. During the attack, one of the owners was yelling at me and saying how bad of an owner I was while his dog was attacking my dog? After my dog was able to get away and the other dog was under control, the owner continued to go off on me. This was a man in his 60’s yelling at a girl in her 20’s after his dog attacked mine. Needless to say I will never be coming back to this dog beach!

By geomoreno77 |

Dog Beach is awesome. If you want to see a bunch of dogs living the free life and just enjoying themselves in the beach this is the spot!

I was there and a dog came up to me wanting to be petted and I played with him a bit. Very relaxing!

Parkingwise, good luck! But it's worth it. I recommend you go any time of the year.. it is a peaceful and relaxing place. Plus, it's the beach! Bring a frisbee.

By Augustine D |

We walked to the beach directly across the street, they rent bikes and boards too. The food there is good and cheap for a quick bite

By Stephanie G |

We had such a fun time taking my sons aunts Labradoodle "Bella". It was her first time to the beach. A great place for families and couples or for singles to mingle.

By Linda S |

we love to bring our labs here. best place in town for them. all the different dogs get along all the time. its like the playground for dogs

By Jeff W |

The dog beach has very friendly people and very good clean spaces as you go the beach is full of friendly dogs and people to hang out with and share happiness with everyone and every time I go I never see a fight between dogs or anything everything is so peaceful and I recommend you go there for your dog to have some fun at the water!

By Scott F |

Whether you have a dog or just like seeing dogs happy off leash running through the sand and surf- this is the place! Low tide is the best time to go. Parking is available at golden west and pch. Also on pch. Walk west towards sea point for a more quite part of dog Beach. Pack a lunch, bring a towel and enjoy.

By Quamos |

It's a great place to take your dog or dogs, especially if they like to run amok with other dogs. If your dog likes the ocean it's even better. The views are wonderful, even on a cloudy day. The only negative I have is the parking situation. Sometimes it gets a little congested, too many people coming and going. Once you get park there are a few bathrooms and water fountains for dogs and their human pets.

By audir825 |

Great for the dogs to run around free with out a leash and they can play in the ocean and run along the beach.

By Surfer B |

friendly dogs dont doo their business in the water, but whales and sea lions do
Dont smile when you wipe out or you will get plankton in your teeth

By Stenvoid |

We were headed to Huntington Beach pier, but on the way by uber this beach really stood out - a beautiful stretch of coast with a wide range of happy dogs running, walking and swimming - really appealing and to be recommnded to dog lovers visiting the area.

By Stephanie G |

]Fun beach to take your fur babies. All the other dogs were friendly and loving the water. My two dogs Vanilla and Wayfurs had a great time.

By 695arta |

We enjoy taking our granddog Lexie to the HB Dog Beach occasionally. She goes with my daughter's family quite often too. She loves the freedom of running in and out of the waves. It is a joy to watch!

By glen j |

Most dogs are well behaved and its very clean. Also benches at the top of cliff to look down on beach or out to the ocean.

By lovenycSoCal |

Unique to Cali, this stretch of beach is designated for our 4-legged friends to have fun in the sand and sun. Situated just north of Goldenest, stretching up towards Bolsa Chica beach, one can bring their dog on or off-leash for some ocean fun, but dogs are not allowed South of Goldenwest at any time

By sealbeachtraveler |

Parking is $2/hr pay by credit card and put the receipt on your dash
Only a few ramps down the steep cliffs to a flat clean sandy beach. When the waves are big watch the surfers. People are friendly. Most dogs are too.

By carolynross84 |

This Beach is Disney Land for the Dogs. They can play and run off leash. They are so happy to be there.

By karenhB3777MW |

We have taken our Yorkie to the dog beach in Huntington twice in 2016 before school was out. We keep her on a leash as we are not sure how she'd react around other bigger dogs. The beach had a few dogs & owners. Most dogs run off leash, but all were friendly. We returned for our third time this year. A lot more dogs and families as school is out. All the dogs and owners are friendly. It's important to remember to clean up after your dog as I did witness one person who did not. It is a great day get-a-away with your pet!!

By U642VMrobertc |

Our family along with dog visited the Huntington Dog Beach today. What should have been a great experience was greatly tempered by having to use a beach restroom. To say it was completely and totally disgusting would be to pay it a complement. The toilet was actually overflowing the top of the toilet seat with human waste. Officials keep stressing to wear masks and be safe , but zero effort being shown in maintaining a restroom! If cost of maintenance is an issue, charge to use it, but for god sake clean the damn thing!!!

By Scott P |

The beach is over a mile long where your dog can be off leash. One time we were there the bathrooms were locked which is not convenient. All the dogs were friendly on the beach and there were a ton of them.

By MB |

I am a dog lover. I often go to this part of HB without my dog just to watch other peoples' dogs be happy dogs. Nearly every time, I leave with sandy paw prints from someone's goofball sweet dog. If you love the beach and dogs, it's a mood elevator!!

By Meken V |

Perfect off leash dog "park" on the beach. No fee just walk up and enjoy. Watch your step as usual their are dog parents who fail to clean up after their doggies. Only set back is how far away the human potty is compared to other areas of the beach.

By Teri S |

Wonderful off leash beach for your dog...and bring your friends. It's far enough away from the pier to not be too crowded, and watching all the pups play is a treat!

By 569franb |

The Huntington dog beach sits below the bluff on PCH right as you are coming up the hill from Sunset Beach. There is metered parking on the street and bluffs.
Very friendly beach where water dogs can play in the water, and others can just visit or play fetch. Fun having the freedom just to be dogs.

By JacqB |

Walk here weekly with my friend and her furry buddy. He loves it! Make sure to bring something to Clean up after your dog so we can all continue to enjoy this great beach!

By Karen D |

We loved watching all the dogs, we like seeing pet friendly places! It’s nice they research a beach for dogs!

By John B |

What a great visit we live close by all of our dogs have been here
They love this place and what dog would not

By Jo C |

Nice concept but not working very well. Dogs running loose with all types of doggy sizes & personalities. Even worse...the mix of human personalities
.

By Katy L |

I love taking our dog here. Just a little further south than Rosie's and the beach is so much cleaner. Only drawback is the limited parking it can get a bit crowded at times. I always feel lucky when I get a parking spot. This is our favorite dog beach!

By builderswife5 |

My husband and I love walking to Dog Beach and back to the pier. We try to go at sunset or low tide. It is always fun to watch the dogs run and play at the beach. We don't bring our old dog to the beach but we enjoy seeing all the puppies and dogs.

By Anthony R |

Me and my daughter's took there dog to run in the water loved it I sat up on the bench's and took in the sight's

By Frank C |

A great place where everyone, including humans, is free to roam the beach.... all of our dogs love it and we are grateful to the City of Huntington Beach for supporting it as they do.

By Jnm222 |

Magnificent beaches - surfers' paradise - very pleasant little center with shops and restaurants
Even in the evening, it is very pleasant to walk there

By Troy-Wo |

Great beach to take your dog for a day at the beach. Parking is a bit limited though. Most people are friendly and pick up after their dog, so it is clean and friendly.

By joseperez1987 |

This beach is so warm and so clean. My dog loved it. I would come here again the next time I'm in thw area

By Danny M |

Brought the boys here this weekend and we had a blast. Really with there were more of these in the area.

By CodeoftheWest |

Love this beach, and we took 4 dogs. Two we kept on leash, and one of those (an old 3-legged female) still got attacked because some owners just let their dogs run wild even when they have no training or control. Lacking "official" oversight/enforcement, it is up to the rest of us to get these dog owners to be responsible. We really made that lady mad! LOL

By paulinajacobs65 |

A nice place for both owners and dogs. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere. You can swim, run or walk with you pooch. Good place to make friends with other dog owners.

By Paul S |

If you enjoy the beach and your dog does too, this is the place for you both. The people who come here are like-minded and there is seldom a problem between the dogs because the owners are paying attention

By Todd N |

Only beach in Orange County I know that people and dogs can go swimming together and have fun. Just be mindful that your dog(s) should be socialized so they do not attack other dogs. Great place to take the family and your extended family as well. Please clean up after you dogs.

By mikedtoughguy |

where else can you enjoy the sand, sea, sunshine and your best bud / dog. As long as your dog is not crazy aggressive, they can run up and down the beach and play fetch w/ ball into the ocean. VERY COOL

By David D |

If you like dogs or have friendly dogs this is the place to go . Very friendly people with well behaved dogs . People cleaned up after their dogs as well . Fun way to relax .

By kmrowlands |

Our German Shepard rescue dog gets his exercise here daily. Early morning we see our regular walkers, surfers & dog friends. Great place for him to run & play & dig.

By Aboaziz |

Enjoy the very long road a long the beach for a walking your dog or just your self , the place is well managed

By leftcoastyogi |

Fun place for people and dog watching! The beach is kept clean by the pet owners. It's a joyful place to be.

By Steve N |

i have small dogs sometimes there are really big dogs there . It really depends on the owner to controll their dog . Had to tap big dog once on back with my hand the owner helped and yelled i think the dog thought my dog was a rabbit. Ha ha ha ;overall, i like to take dogs there when the wind is the strongest for some odd reason

By Andrew |

An entire beautiful beach area dedicated to dogs. What could be better? If you enjoy dogs and the beach, you'll enjoy seeing them at play and free. Love that Southern California gives the dogs their own space and lets them enjoy our beautiful beaches. Worth walking down the beach to see these pups at play.

By alejand321 |

Fabulous to watch our dog running free playing with friendly dogs. I love the dog Beach. Huntington beach is a very friendly community. we live here. we love it. the weather is the best.

By Peggy C |

Fun, carefree, and along the beach. What more could you ask for. Be sure and pack treats for your dog in you pocket so they come back, over and over,

By Amazn1 |

Wide, spacious beach. Different conditions at different times of day but my Rescue loves if waves are crashing or if there is a large sand bar she can go out to. I’ve never had an issue with another dog, even though my dog gets scared of big dogs. People are respectful and clean up after their dogs.

By It's The Little... L |

This is such a fun place for my dogs. They love to run around in the waves and play with the other dogs. If you go...please remember to pick up after your dog to keep it a clean beach. There is a donation box that goes directly to the clean up of the beach. Parking is close and the view can't be beat.

By Brian D |

Huntington Beach Dog Beach is a very nice off leash dog beach. Plenty of room for your pooch to roam on the sand or in the ocean. Parking can be tight at times, but people seem to come and go enough to catch a decent parking spot (paid parking on the street). We will definitely be back.

By coachrickHB |

We cannot say the word beach at our house because both dogs go crazy...
Most dogs their play well with other s... HB dog beach

By Robert W |

Great beach. Fun to share this special place with the dogs. Lots of dog friendly things to do around town, as well. One of the happiest places in the US. We love Huntington Beach!

By Lesa O |

Beware of a fine if you don't pick up after your dog! It's a $200 fine! Lots of garbage cans and dog mit dispensers. Great place that's off leash!

By NANCY B |

Parking can sometimes be an issue here, but the dogs enjoy dog beach so much that it's worth the hassle. There aren't that many beaches in OC where dogs are welcome. It's nice to be able to let them run and play in the water. There are doggy clean up bags available at little kiosks and plenty of trash receptacles for convenient disposal. For the most part, dog owners are friendly and responsible, keeping less socialized dogs on leash or muzzled. We used to visit dog beach 2-3 times weekly when we lived nearby. Now, we make it a point to visit whenever we are traveling and in town.

By jg3arrow |

Someone told me this is the only off-leash dog beach in LA, Orange and San Diego counties. I don’t know if I believe that, but if there is another, it must be a long way away. This is not a great beach for people, however. The city and county seem reluctant to take responsibility for keeping it clean and groomed (like the non-dog beaches). No lifeguards either. Paid parking is available in a small lot along PCH. There is NO free parking within walking distance. These nitpicks, however, are of no concern to the dogs - who absolutely go nuts for it.

By Matthew Z |

Went with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t too crowded and there was enough parking. Plenty of dogs playing catch off leash. Nice afternoon.

By Janelle A |

So so so so cute. Dogs everywhere because they're SO PRECIOUS! I want to just pluck one up and put it in my bag, but I won't because my husband wouldn't like it and also stealing is wrong.

By Sharlene B |

Great place to take ur dog to run baby run... Off leash for ur dog is da kine. Lots of dog and people watching. It tends to get cool in the evening so bring a sweater.

By PickyBaer |

We were without a dog, but my hands were rewarded. We laughed at the tiny Yorkie's first experience with the ocean. The two labs were born to body surf. But it was the Greyhound attacking the foam that made us sit on the sand instead of fall down laughing. Huntington Beach and California-- ya done good.

By 560kalif |

Nice clean beach for you pups and family. Always clean and they provide plenty of clean up bags for your doggy's

By DWUK |

We had lunch at Dukes and the pier is literally right next to the restaurant. Worth a stroll to the end, watching all the guys fishing in the clear waters.
Looking back at the coast line, its a sight that makes you smile.
Worth the walk up the pier - you'll even find a Zoltar machine (ie the one from the Tom Hanks movie Big.......although it doesn't seem to grant wishes!).

By Melle M |

If you're going for a beach stroll this is a fun spot to visit just to watch the dogs play and the locals chill. Dogs have the right of way!

By Cody H |

Great spot to hang out on the beach with your dog. Plenty of trash cans around but make sure to bring poop bags.

By daikin |

What can I say expect I saw a lot of dogs here I really wish I was able to bring my dog here also he would have so much fun

By Carole W |

Great location and clean as well. I love to go to the beach and see the dogs happily playing, always puts a smile on my face.

By Tim M |

Lots of dogs having fun at the beach. And free poop bags to boot! Our grand doggy gets excited just driving by.....

By Dan |

Parking is sketchy and the walk to the beach is downhill going and of course uphill when leaving. Not too trashy.

By D S |

This beach is alot of fun. You can just hang out even if you don't have a dog. Everyone is friendly and the dogs are running all over the place. Fun place to photograph.

By rebeccahost |

What a super place to take your dog for the day. Dogs are everywhere having a great time. If your dog has issues with other dogs not a place to take your dog being they are running loose all over playing in the water chasing frisbees and balls. But if your dog likes the freedom to run and play in the water come on down.

By SFGlen |

We usually write reviews for restaurants and hotels, but this was SO MUCH FUN that it deserves a review too!

We are from the desert and desperately needed a beach fix, even if it meant a 2 ½ hour drive each way. The Huntington Dog Beach was worth every minute of the commute!

First, it’s very easy to get to. Just drive west! I can see how parking might be a problem, but we went on a Tuesday, around 10:30 am, and had absolutely no problem. It’s paid parking, but the high-tech payment method is very easy. Enter your plate number on the terminal, insert your credit card, and that’s it. Not too expensive, either.

There are several handy public restrooms, which are private, although the cleanliness could have been a bit better.

Beach access is easy, without any big climb down a cliff or anything. The beach is impeccably clean, WIDE and very long – I’d guess a good mile or two. There is plenty of room, people are incredibly friendly and we didn’t encounter a single unpleasant or aggressive dog the entire day. The surf was reasonably gentle too, with a wide/shallow break, so I felt pup was very safe.

The dogs are all having the times or their lives! It was pretty good for us humans, too! This is the best dog beach in Southern California.

By dilly4j |

If you like to hang out at the beach with your dog, this is a great place to go. There are 3things to be aware before you go...1) weekend can be a hassle to find a parking spot 2) bring money to pay for parking 3) of you or a child are skittish around dogs, there are times when there are a lot of dogs and they can roam free so just fyi

By G W |

This is one of only a few spots where dogs can be off leash on the beach. I’ve been there hundreds of times with my dogs and they always have a wonderful time in the surf and running around. I would give this 5 stars if there were more parking spaces. Leash up til you get down to beach ...a short downhill walk and please make sure you grab a poop bag or bring your own. The dogs who play here are for the most part well behaved. It’s also a great people-beach too!

By 163459 |

Nice beach to take the family. Beach was exceptionally clean for a dog beach. Parking is a disaster.

By Kirk N |

Great way to have your pooch and enjoy the beach. Please bring your leash and watch your interaction with other dogs.
Not all visitors watch their dogs properly.
Be sure to pickup after your 🐕, and leave no trash.

By RangerBobN |

My sister lives in Huntington Beach and she has always had dogs. This prized area is one of the few places where dogs can run around off-leash and enjoy the ocean. It's obvious that all the dogs on the beach are having a great time. It's easy to support the beach as there are usually volunteers around to provide guidance and accept donations. There are convenient plastic bag dispensers that always have bags for owners to clean up after their pets. Great place!

By Adele L |

Living in Minnetonka, my dogs are used to off leash experiences in the woods near lakes and rivers. On my current excursion to California I have started to introduce them to the off leash dog beaches. I don't think they find them quite as a good from a nose perspective but they still seem to have fun. Huntington Dog Beach is particularly good because it is so LONGGGGGG. And it is great for me because I can really get my steps in and my dogs enjoy all the socializing.

By scoop35311 |

Wow! What a setting. Man's best friend have their own beach at Huntington Beach. We viewed tiny toy poodles, all the way up to St. Bernards running and playing on this magnificent beach. Many were chasing balls or sticks along the water. Some were rolling in the sand. There is a walkway as well, to walk your dog. Many picnic tables are available if you'd like to have lunch or a snack. Tails were wagging with delight. You could see that they were having a great time! We had a great time watching them have a great time! Bring your pet and make them happy!😎

By Paul W |

A very pleasant place for dog lovers, City keeps it clean and there is always a presence of volunteers to help with questions, Parking on the other hand can tax your patience so arrive early

By Housam Elkouteini |

Very beautiful beach clean and not very crowded. almost everyone there has a dog and its really a nice and friendly spot to take your dog to

By Joglaine O |

We found a quiet area away from the large clusters of people and dogs and enjoyed 5 hours at the beach! Love this area, it's clean, people are friendly, and it's incredibly peaceful.

By JLFERG |

We--my husband, I and our Australian Cattle Dog Red Heeler, LOVE Huntington Dog Beach. Nacho can run and chase the ball to his heart's content. This beach is usually very busy with humans and dogs and almost all are well behaved and strolling or chasing balls or hanging out under umbrellas. People are conscientious about their pet's waste. They are friendly and kind. And this beach is much bigger than Rosie's Dog Beach (its closest competitor). HDB runs special days like Corgi Day and others and is always a joy to visit. Parking can be limited but we usually find space on side streets across PCH from the Beach--and this parking is often free, unlike at the beach itself.

Weekdays are easier to find actual beach lot parking as opposed to weekends but any day of the week is a good day at Huntington Dog Beach. Nacho gives it five paws approval rating.

By TJ C |

Dog Beach in HB is awesome. I love coming here with our dog and our girls or alone just to surf. There is so much room for dogs to run free and play. The dogs here are always so happy and mostly friendly (always check with the owner first).
I often come down here just to smile and feel good. My niece was here from Kauai and she couldn’t believe how friendly everyone and their dogs were. Such a great place to get some sun, swim in the ocean, run free, play with old and new friends, smile and play, and roll in the sand (and it’s fun for humans too:)

By Mvz Karla U |

It’s so fun for the dogs, and you can
See a lot of dogs running and playing, they have water fountains for them and potty bags station

By Cheryl B |

What a fabulous place. Love that HB sets this part of the beach aside for dog lovers. Downside, it can get crowded on weekends and sometimes people bring dogs that are too aggressive for this setting.

By vicki h |

LOVE bringing my dog here, for years. The people keep it clean there are still surfers and other beach goers. Even enjoy going and watching other pooches play if I didnt travel with mine

By Tom Z |

We went end of day. Not too crowded and mostly locals. Know that the local beaches and state parks require dogs on a leash only. At this beach they can run free.

By 794ainsleyw |

love this spot for a little bulldog name dude. super fun and relatively clean. other dog owners are friendly and respectful. great place to spend a few hours.

By maureensj |

Whether you have a dog or not, if you like dogs and love the beach, this is a must see. Ample metered parking, restrooms available and dogs may play, leash free.

Bring a frisbee, tennis ball and snacks and enjoy! I visit 2 times a month.

By Outofdodge_10 |

I will bring my dogs here every time I visit. They love visiting and it rivals the Carmel dog beach which is fantastic. We brought our younger dog here for the first time in late February and she was in heaven. It's a long stretch of beach and when I was there, all of the dogs were having fun - no aggression. Parking was easy, but it was a weekend, so it was crowded. We did manage to snag a parking spot right away because someone was leaving. The problem with this place is that it's tough to convince your pups to leave! Thank you Huntington Beach - My dogs were both smiling - truly.

By Kent S |

This Beach is "Dog Friendly", for sure. And, your dog can meet and make new friends here too. Nice weather almost all year long, but, the dogs don't care, do they?

By Sachi Sharma |

Our dogs absolutely loved it! They didn’t go in the water because they’re small maltese and we’re afraid but they loved socializing with other dogs! We went in the evening so the weather was a little cold but still nice. The beach was relatively clean- there were some dirty spots but it is a dog beach after all. The only star down was for parking as it was very hard to find. We had to wait on someone to leave before we could get parking. In addition, there isn’t any place (that I saw at least) that we could clean our dogs after they were covered in sand. But a nice place, and a must visit if you have dogs and are in the area!

By 220Musttravel |

Take the Great Dane there and he loves it. Great place for all four legged to run and play with other dogs or just have a long nice walk. Parking can be tough on sunny weekends so come early. Only negative comment is some people don’t pick up after their dogs...unbelievable!

By janice g |

Dogs love this place, they run everywhere and are happy and friendly. Owners are respective and majority of them pick up after their dogs. Beach is clean. Parking is a bit tuff and is metered.

By Charesef |

Tons of beach space, lots of dogs, friendly people.
Great place to have the dogs run. Parking adjacent to the beach.

By David H |

A continuation of the Huntington Beach trail. Great area if you are a dog owner as they allow dogs on the beach. Tends to get a bit crowded and a hazard area as you may find yourself dodging someone's loyal companion. 4 star if I had a dog to take there.

By Kate D |

We live in HB and this is our doggies favorite thing to do. It's a great spot to wander the shore while letting our four legged family members enjoy the surf with us. Our lab loves to swim and the little mutlee poo just likes to run the beach and wander the shoreline. If you've got your dog with you and your in this neck of the wood, check out dog beach for a relaxed afternoon.

By E_SHEPS |

HB Dog beach is one of the best spots for your four legged friend. It's miles long, and offers both swimming for those water furbabies, as well cliffs and rocks for those who aren't so water friendly. There is ample space for pets to run and play. Great location to help get some of your pets energy out.

By patricia6020162016 |

Sammy loves to make new friends (dogs) at dog beach!
He loves going into the water!
It's never is a dull moment and he doesn't like leaving :(

By David S |

Hanging out at any portion of Huntington Beach is already fun and relaxing. Throw in a wide variety of breeds large and small to the mix makes the party even better. Our Jack Russel came from the shelter, a sweet dog, but a proposed history of abuse. Because of this he did not know how to behave or socialize with other dogs. He was initially afraid of the larger breeds that were coaxing him into play and would seek refuge hiding behind my back. With subsequent visits he loved being around the large assortment of friendly dogs, becoming more social, and sprinting the vast stretches of sand with an occasional soak in the ocean. Seeing him get drenched when he didn't see a wave coming was a little funny and there was a great picture moment of him feet away from a pelican (each just staring at each other). I have been to Venice Beach and seeing owners with aggressive Pit Bulls trying to intimidate other owners/dogs bragging about how his dog could destroy your dog. At HB, the vibe is opposite where dogs are friendly, breeds mix in assorted packs, and also there is a lot of nice dog - people + people - people interactions. The beach stretches for a while and if you choose to walk your dog all the way towards the pier, one of the lifeguards will remind you that you have reached the end of the "dog zone" and politely turn around. I'm not sure how many beaches cater to dogs anymore, so HB Dog Beach is a place to be cherished and kept around.

Keep this a secret between you and me. Dog beach in Huntington Beach is a great place to take your dog for an off leash walk and swim. Pretty views of Catalina Island, beautiful sunsets and lots of dogs!

By Cassy_Kat |

I personally do not own a dog, at this time. Yet, we walk on the path which overlooks Dog Beach. Our neighbor often takes his sweet dog there, though. One can just tell, the dogs are having so much fun. They have the opportunity to run wild, sniff the ocean breeze and socialize with other pets. I definitely recommend this place; especially if you're having a [ruff] day!

By Michael H |

Its one of the few beaches I've seen with off leash dog area. There is parking right at it plus bag areas as well. There is no fence so dogs can sprint a little too far if you don't watch.

By Melanie S |

A great clean place for your dog to run and play in the beach 🏖- I was impressed as there was NO DROPPING LEFTin the beach or area-a slice of heaven for owners and dogs

By Jeff F |

Too many bad dog owners here, there are no bad dogs! We live right up the street and "time" our visits to avoid crowds but can still run into a bad dog owner. Please keep a close eye on your beloved pup, we've seen numerous dogs chase a squirrel up the cliff and meet their tragic death on PCH

By Bill O |

I mean dogs, AT the beach. Great place for mans best friend. They can run, hike, swim and sun (and maybe even surf) right alongside you! it's way better than a dog park!

By Buck911 |

Have been here 4 or 5 times with dogs belonging to my inlaws. Went on New Year's Day 2018 with my wife, niece, and her rat terrier, Riley. Dogs are allowed to be off lease on this stretch of beach which extends a mile or more. Riley was having the time of his life running into the surf; playing chase with doggie friends; and running off annoying dogs. By and large, all of the observed dogs were not being too aggressive. There was one troublesome trio of Dobersman, but there were led off the beach by owners. It was shirtsleeve weather and got quick warm during the walk. Some brave soles were going into the water. Hope to bring our 2 Westies here in the near future.

Our family, including two dogs, went for the first time on Labor Day. Plenty of parking for our 24 ft RV at Bolsa Chica, short walk to dog beach. Dogs had a great time, not too crowded. Will go again.

By alvina v |

Didn’t know about this, until a local told my cousin it was a 10 minute walk. Checked maps and decided to drive. Great place to go, seemingly “packed”(not a lot of parking spots)- it is paid parking! Lots, And LOTS of room on the beach! Even if your four legged friend is not with you, you can come watch the dogs enjoy themselves. People are friendly, my dog ran up to a group and started to drink their dogs water, I apologized and they we okay with it! And if you collect shells you can find some here. There are quite a few. So glad we were told about this place. Be prepared, there Are no nearby conveniences, such as stores, or vending, bring water and other needed items. It’s a clean park, so DO pick up after your dogs.

By Eric R |

We love bringing our dog maya. She doesnt get to be around other dogs much but she has such a blast mingling with all the other dogs. We love this place

By Mark K |

It was a rainy day in LA and we wanted to give our dog a taste of the ocean. Off we want to Huntington Beach, the closest to LA of the Orange county beaches.
Clean beach, good people and good dogs. We had a great time, will visit again.

By Arthur Cervantes |

Weekdays are best and safest for your fluffy child.
Weekends tend to have some owners with aggressive dogs off leash so be careful.
But it’s a long strand of coast dedicated to our four legged babies. Weekends are always busy

By Ray H |

This beach is a great place to bring your dog or to watch dogs having a great time. The beach brings dog owners and lovers from all over. It is almost a mile long . Due to the efforts of the local non profit Huntington Beach Dog Beach it is a clean, safe place to enjoy a day at the beach with your dog or just watch them having fun.

By kimcsmiles |

One of the activities I find most satisfying is when I take my dogs leash off after reaching the beach. Since we live nearby he knows this place and goes bonkers. He runs down to the water and checks out each family looking for a playmate running from one group to another. We have a Vizula puppy which comes standard with super high energy and a friendly demeanor. I take a walk down the beach and enjoy the sights. Surfers, dogs people.

By Carole E |

The dog beach is great. Lots of friendly people and dogs, It a great opportunity for your dog to play in the ocean. Very clean!

By Sylvan |

We went over Labor Day with our son and his golden doodle, who is super friendly, sniff-y, and rambunctious. It was wonderful!!! We played in the surf along with all the other dog loving peeps and their pups. We witnessed no aggressive behavior - even though dogs can run free here, owners seemed to be constantly up on their pooch and ready with a pickup bag when needed. If you are squeamish, you might stay out of the water and bring something to sit on, because there are dogs here, and their potty manners are not always the best. But wow, did we have a blast and plan to go there again whenever we are in Huntington Beach!

By robie46 |

I visit the park solo about once a week. When family & friends visit me in HB, I bring them too especially in winter. What a lift to the spirit. Beautiful beach and good people that pick up after their dogs because they care about clean beaches for their dogs. And the happy excited dogs, like us are loving their "freedom" by running in the water, playing, retrieving and rolling in the sand. I come home rejuvenated. Side note. I don't own a dog.

By john h |

Dog beach is far enough away from the beach crowd.
There is parking but it can fill up fast on the weekends
It is just for dogs so they can play with other dogs and not get into other beach goers.
May sure you bring a collar and leash but once your on the beach let them have great tine

By SuzanneN |

Nice to have a beach for dogs to enjoy. Fun seeing the squirrel habitats so close to it. They live in tunnels just off the beach.

By John N |

By far the best dog park in Southern California. Parking can get problematic on busy beach days. The beach itself is well separated from the highway by the bluffs. The dog owners are responsible, i.e. they pick up the poop. My dog hits the beach running and runs nonstop for an hour. Good place for kids.

By jmsaathoff |

When in the Huntington Beach area we typically visit this place multiple times. Partly for the exercise of walking on the beach, partly for the view, but MOSTLY to see the dogs just loving life running on the beach. Get there early, the parking spots fill up, but it only costs $2 per hour to park. Well worth it

By CheapMum26 |

I am struggling to give it a 5-star to review it as a dog, or 2-star as a human!

Sanitary issue: LAZY DOG OWNERS!!! It’s got too many dog poop on the beach! Why don’t people pick up after their own k-9 family any more????
I took my dogs here 10 years ago and there was as little as 1% of doggy waste (solid and visible ones) that I could remember.

Parking issue: there’s not enough parking to accommodate beach visitors and the layout of the parking lot entrance can seriously cause car accidents. Otherwise, park in the residential areas and walk a few blocks.

I think HB city needs to step in or the Park and Recreation should be looking into their operating policy!

Sorry, I didn’t think of taking poop on the beach pictures!

By 714Gilmore |

We’re so lucky to have a dog beach in our city. I know many people that come from surrounding cities just to share the beach with their furry friends. We have had many happy times with our dogs here.

By Melissa M |

This is a very popular spot if your dog likes the beach. The dogs love it and the owners are very courteous. We will definitely go again.

By Mauigirl333 |

Take your pooch to the Huntington Beach ocean. This is a beach where your best friend can run and play, off leash, and have a wonderful time! Fabulous!

By Kalin F |

I have never seen so many dogs having such a great time as at this beach. This place is amazingly fun for the dogs and their people. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who work to keep this gem going.

By Chelsea S |

Clean, wide-open beach for you to enjoy with your fur babe with lots of friendly dogs around. Your pup can be off-leash once in the designated area. We loved walking here everyday from our hotel, Kimpton Shorebreak (which we suggest staying at if you are coming to the area, super pup-friendly, and dogs stay for free!)

By ladytastebuds |

Nice walks on the beach beautiful sunsets and nice people walking all sorts of well behaved breeds of dogs.

By johnsI3844FP |

This is a great beach to take your dog. While your dog runs around playing with other dogs you can enjoy a walk on a very beautiful beach. There are free bags you can use to pick up after your dog and there is easy access to the beach from the very convenient partaking lot on Pacific Coast Highway.

By Paul H |

Bring the entire family, especially the furry ones!! Romp, play and be a dog - what more could you want? Restrooms are, well - you know, beach restrooms, so there's much to be desired, but the beach provides everything you need for a fantastic day with the family.

By 510kerryg |

Took the dogs there midweek on a gloomy day. Lots of available parking and tons of cool dogs and people. Low tide - dogs had an absolute blast!

By TFinHB |

Im lucky to live walking distance to this location so I'm here too often to put a number on it. It's a great place to let your pup roam off leash - as long as his energy is mellow and calm. Fav time is on weekdays mid morning and during sunset hour. Weekends get extremely busy and crowded and there's so many types of dogs that taking a young pup on busy days could be a bit intimidating for them as the high energy dogs sometimes can roam in packs and can get aggressive towards a dog that has not been neutered, so be careful with your brand new puppy - not to let them roam while too many other dogs are near. Aside from that - Always a great place to take your dogs, nothing beats the beach air and walking along the water... nature therapy always works wonders for the human and dog souls 😊Peace 🙏🏻

By draepasek |

Great place to bring your dog. Just be mindful that not everyone's dog is friendly! Bags for picking up poop are almost always available at the parking lot level

By palenakamikale |

We recommend you take your own dog bags as the dog beach ones are sometimes empty, we bring string bag backpacks for our shoes rather then leaving them as people sometimes take the good shoes and leave the worn out ones. Bring beach towels to wipe off the sand and dry of the dogs.ENJOY!

By Barry D |

Apparently yes we can, if you are dog at dog Beach. I am lucky enough to live a bike ride away. They all just play and get along, and jump in the water and shake. All good!!!

By Charlespemanuel71 |

If you have dogs this is a great place. The dogs are generally very well behaved. And the owners do a good job of cleaning up

By InnaYYZ |

I loved seeing the dogs happy, including both those playing in the water and those running on the beach. I love seeing dogs running free.

By JenWebber33 |

The Huntington Dog beach is a special place where dogs can run free, 'chase' the waves and do some swimming to retrieve whatever was hurled into the ocean as well. The beach is wide in most parts and a gradual slope so easy for all to navigate. Many families come for the day with their dog(s), while others come to walk the mile length of the beach to watch the dogs play and talk with other dog owners (and get a little exercise!). Rarely have I seen dogs interacting poorly with each other. People by and large do a good job of cleaning up after their pets and most go home happy and ready for a nap! Great place and terrific way to spend some time.

By Kate W |

Shallow water for awhile at this beach so good for swimming with kids. Just like Huntington Beach but with dogs playing in the water and chasing balls. Parking is $1.75 per hour.

By Marbella Costa Rica |

One of the only beaches in Southern California that allows dogs to roam freely off leash. Avoid in the summertime on the weekends. Unless you like wife beater wearing pit bull owners by the dozen pulling up in Monster trucks.

By Julia G |

Dog beach is a great addition to the city of HB! It's fun to watch the dogs run all over and in the water. For the most part everyone picks up the dog poo. Dog owners just need to remember to pay attention to their dogs to prevent things from happening.

By bullet |

Such a fun place to visit and watch the dogs even if you don't have one. Parking is an issue, better with a Credit Card. Difficult in weekends to get a space. Park closer to pier and walk.

By jsilletti |

what a great place to bring dogs of all shapes and sizes! They can romp and run along the ocean, meet new friends and have their owners meet new folks, also!

By yaragon01 |

My dog loved this beach😍. I could see the joy on his face while playing with other dogs and running into the waves. We had a wonderful time.

By Madison Boyer |

This dog beach is very nice. You can walk to both ends then it prohibits dogs past a certain point on each end.
There’s plenty of poop bags and trash cans. Beach is very clean and everyone is friendly. Leashes are optional. Parking is cheap depending on how long you plan to stay.

By Famluv2travel |

A great place to send your dog off leash to enjoy the freedom of the beach. Most dogs here are friendly so pack up your chairs and enjoy the view.

By Chris R |

There's plenty of room and the people are friendly. If you've been to a dog park you know the drill. The bluffs have a great view of the ocean and Long Beach in the distance.

We've been taking our small dog to Dog Beach for at least 5 years and only have had 2 problems with other dogs in that time.

Parking can be challenging in the summer. There are new goofey credit card meters!

Donations to Dog Beach are appreciated!

By REBECCA |

we love this dog beach and take our do Dolly here all the time. The beach is pretty open lots of room for your dog to run and play. My dog loves the water and is always sad to go.

By RockyWon |

Fun place to take your dog. My dog has fun retrieving his tennis ball from the ocean. It's a great place for him

By Jennifer W |

I like this beach because dog's are allowed to run and roam, and play without anyone getting up tight or walking around "barking" orders. (ha)
I took one of my dogs a few weekends ago. I kept him on leash just in case, but most of the dogs there seemed to be running freely. The larger dogs and some of the littles, were busy chasing balls and didn't seem to even notice people or other dogs at all. I was actually hoping that my dog would find a little to play and run around with, but what I noticed was that this is not like a dog park and people aren't bringing their dogs to make friends. Either way, we had a good time and my little loved seeing all of the people and dogs and said hello to many. Next time I will let him off leash and bring a ball to play with.
All in all this is a unique and great beach! It can get busy but is a lot of fun to watch all of the craziness. Oh and parking is tough! If you can walk, ride a bike, or ride a scooter to the beach I would recommend.
Don't forget that the sand and pavement are hot for your dogs feet as well as yours! Protect them.

By EarningsGirl |

This is a great beach for families, with soft sand and neat waves. If you are going though, try not to miss the beautiful sunsets!

By trsanders |

What a great place to hangout at the beach. Surfers, dogs, families all in the same place. Beautiful views easy access, and great seashell picking. Off leash near water only but what a great morning. Started to pick up around lunchtime but still not to crowded.

By Jeremy A |

lots of parking. giant area for dogs. friendly people. good day for ollie the borzoi. We will be back soon!

By special needs family fun |

So much fun for everyone - Great walk and then take them down to Pacific City which is a very dog friendly mall on PCH and 1st Street!

By Lord TPM |

Great beach for dog lovers..owners and the slightly rugged look. However,be aware the sea base is rough and injuries could be caused. Not as safe as the state beach in those terms.

By Tawnee S |

What a great place to spend with family, friends and of course our unconditional loving dogs. It's a treat for all and everyone is happy and friendly. Wish there was more parking and restrooms. Food trucks would be very welcomed, we do get hungry.

By irene b |

There is no such thing as a bad time at dog beach. The beach is beautiful and the dogs are Incredible. Even on a bad day dog beach is perfect. Just ask your dog🐺🐺😜😜

By Lauramaldonado34 |

Let’s start off with parking, lots tend to be full on the weekend so either come early or come with patience. Make sure you pay and place your receipt on the dash otherwise you will get a ticket.

There are two restrooms at either end of the stretch,
Not the cleanest but tolerable.

Please when visiting with your fur baby, fur child, dog , make sure to pick up after them if you forget to bring a bag they have them for you, there’s no excuse not to. Be a responsible dog owner.

Once at the beach let your dog off the leash and enjoy watching them have a grand time. It’s a great beach to spend the day with family, friends and pets. Most of the dogs and owners are chill and respectful with the exception of a few but that’s everywhere. It’s a great place to socialize your dog and help them build confidence. Make sure to bring water for your pet along with a good beach toy they can enjoy, great place to play fetch.

Just make sure to keep your dog safe by having them on a leash on the walkway, it is off a busy street.

By Stephanie L |

Huntington Dog Beach is a great place to bring your furry friends to run free and play with other dogs or in the sea! Should you have a new puppy I recommend coming midweek if you can when it is not as as busy and getting them socialized and ready for weekends and summertime at the HBDB. The beach ls very long, spacious and everyone seems to be very familiar with rules and dog beach etiquette, they also have extra dog bags should you run out or forget yours. There are public restrooms available and plenty of parking. There is a parking meter machine that takes cash or cards. One thing I really love is the stretch of HB dog beach that is blocked by a cliff....it is nice if you have a dog that loves to run because there is no street access so you can relax and let them play. They also have fresh water near the parking area at doggie level for them to drink!

On the weekends they sometimes have special events such as dog surfing contest or particular breed meet ups, you can check out the website and Facebook page to see whats happening. I hope you and your furry friends have as much fun as we do!

By Sherri P |

Grwat place to meet other dog lovers. Be mindful of less social dogs. For the many times I have been no troubles.

By Sozlovesholisays |

People were rushing to get on t9 this beach tobe able to walk there digs in it.
We didn’t have our dog with us but was still great to watch

By lfarmer2016 |

Went here with my family and 2 dogs. The dogs love it and can go off leash and run down the beach. There are dog bags available and people appear to pick up after their dogs.

By cappleton2 |

Great to sit and people watch, or rather dog watch. If you do not like dogs best not go as they are allowed of the lead.

By Outofdodge_10 |

About a mile and a half of fun fun fun for your pup! This is a leash-free zone, so the dogs are much happier and more relaxed since they aren't tethered to you. Unless you have a dog that bolts, of course. People are much better about picking up their baby's poop, but you can't pick up pee, so make sure to wear shoes. If you don't, I would say that was poor judgement on your part, not the fault of a dog. Remember, it's a DOG beach. Just a note, keep picking up #2 and make sure your dog isn't aggressive if you're going to let it off-leash. ENJOY!

By Square-on-Wheels |

This is a great outing for dog lovers, whether or not you actually bring a dog or own a dog. Our dog had a great time playing in the surf here, but he experienced true sensory overload, what with the many other dogs of varying sizes and temperaments in addition to the mid-sized waves. We kept him leashed, since he tends to view very small dogs more as nachos than as playmates, but next time, we'll give him more freedom with a longer leash. Access for most will be easy enough, but without his ankle support braces, my husband struggled in flip-flops to climb down the heaped-up fragments of concrete that lead to the sand from the paved pathway. That may be a concern for some. Parking was tight, but we lucked out as someone pulled out of the lot on our approach. If lots are full, there should be spots available along PCH. Some owners were slow to retrieve their unleashed dogs when encounters became a little iffy, so please pay attention to these situations. Unleashed dogs may come sniffing around your dog's water, treats, etc., so it's best to stow those items away in a beach bag to lessen the chance of conflict. This is a clean beach, and everyone had a ball!

By jet2022017 |

This is a no brainer for dogs that like to run free in a fairly contained environment. Obviously the ocean is a barrier and a short cliff keeps dogs from PCH but one still needs to keep an eye on them as squirrels living in the rocks can be enticing. But there are plenty of dogs to play with and LOTS of room to roam. Have never had an issue with other dogs when I take my doberman there.

By teabee34 |

The dog beach was very clean and has convenient parking (the rate is about $1.75 per hour- you pay at a kiosk). There are lifeguards on duty and it’s a safe for families and fun for all dog lovers. The only issue I had is there are no dog poop bag stations down on the beach and there are not enough bathroom facilities. I did not see any showers either.

By Steve L |

Where can you let your dog off leash to get their energy out? This is the place. Our new dog ran his rear off for an hour, back home he slept all afternoon.

By Karen C |

I take my dog with me to many different places, but whenever we turn down Goldenwest past toward Yorktown, my pup knows the only reason we ever turn that way is to go to the dog beach. She seriously goes wild! She does not act that way any other time, EVER. So I know she absolutely LOVES dog beach. And I so enjoy watching her run carefree at full speed on the soft sand, which is great for her bad joints. We love this place, especially when we can find parking!

By Summers On Wheels |

The negative first.
Parking is a huge problem if you show up after 9am. Be prepare to walk.

Bathroom is a huge problem. Long lines almost always.
Not a friendly place for handicap family. Getting to the beach required walking on rocks and loose sand.

The positive.
Best weather on the planet. My Yorkie Diego love spending time among so many other well behave dogs.
There is plenty of sand for everyone to seat and dogs to play.

By Bruce M |

Great place for pictures of the sunset. The people and the dogs on the beach look like they were having fun.

By Dawn P |

We took our 7 pound Yorker here to experience the Ocean for the first time. It was easy to find but you have to pay for parking. Everyone was very friendly and all the dogs were having a great time. Cleaner than I expected, doggy clean bags available everywhere. I quite enjoyed it here!

By tmanfewell |

The beach is beautiful! All of the dog owners watch their dogs so there are no mishaps. Our dog really enjoyed himself.

By ggintruckee |

Great place to take your four legged family members to run and play on the beach and to watch the sunset.

By SpokaneRealtor |

We love that there is a great place for puppies! There was so much room for dogs to run, swim, play and chase balls with their parents. The beach was clean and well maintained and there was plenty of room for dogs and people! Good job, Huntington!

By Paula F |

Our dogs love going to the beach. We have 2 pommerian. They also love going after the birds to. But they are to fast for our dogs but they have fun anyway.

By Cheryle G |

I went down there several times during my visit since my daughter goes every day with her dog. It seems really nice and I really enjoyed watching the surfers while walking in the sun. Most people did a great job of cleaning up but I did notice some people let their dogs go in the water and they don't attempt to clean it up even though it could be done. I guess that happens everywhere though. Theres always someone! Still, a very pleasant place to visit.

By Heidi8380 |

A nice, long stretch of beach where your dog can run free. Other local beaches do not allow dogs (even on-leash). The only down side is it can be busy and difficult to park. Also watch out for others with ill-behaved pups, I’ve seen a few dog fights or bites there. A beautiful place!

By roadtripusa2017 |

Fun place but absolutely packed on a nice day. Parking is extremely hard to find. Very limited... need to circle around many times in hopes someone is leaving. Witnessed many dogs defecating and urinating in the water. Be careful hanging out in the water... be sure you shower if in the water and bathe the dogs as soon as you get home. It is a great place to hangout and play with the dogs and see many different breeds.

By jeffcS4865GB |

Nice palace to take your dog for a few hours they will have a blast but remember they will get sandy and salty so bring lots of stuff to keep the car clean and MOST OF ALL please pick up your dog poop!!! This beach was originally owned by surfers and they were not happy with the dog invasion but we have learned to share but keep it clean cause they are watching!!!!

By Lynette58 |

We visited this beach on a recent trip to California. Very nice beach with walking path. We had so much fun watching all the dogs...wished we had ours with us. Dogs everywhere - romping in the water, basking in the sun, and lounging under beach umbrellas.

By Mangalito |

We take our dog to Huntington dog beach and she loves to run into the waves and roll in the sand. It is the only beach in the area where dogs are allowed and that is something. Hundreds of folks bring their dogs and get a lot of joy from seeing their dog having so much fun!

By AZFam-Travel |

This was our first visit to the Huntington Dog Beach. Our pug & malti-poo loved walking in the sand. There were lots of other friendly dogs & people as well.

We would love to visit again sometime.

By Del D |

great to take your friendly dog who wants to socialize with others. If they are tempermental keep them on the leash

By Pete J |

Dog owners rejoice! This beach is a gift from God! Catch some rays while your pooch is off frolicking in the surf, rolling in the sand and becoming so pooped that you have to drag him/her off the beach. Absolutely perfect!

The only reason why I gave this 4 stars was because of an inconsiderate owner who watched and laughed as their mutt strutted over to our beach towel and peed. We're from the East Coast and I was shocked that not only did they not grab their unruly mutt, they didn't say a word to us (standing ten feet apart). That left a bad taste in my mouth.

Needless to say, beware of other owners and dogs (as always) but enjoy the doggy surf!

By Sandra S |

This is a nice clean beach located on the rigth side of huntington beach there is parking and accesible bathrooms they also have free bags incase you decide to give it a try last minute and did not bring any. The dogs are well trained and friendly at least the times that I have been there.

By surfsideseohb |

This is a nice beach area. You can bring your dog(s) with you and have a great day at the beach. We have never run into any problems here. Everyone is friendly and their animals are friendly. If they are well behaved, there is no need for the leashes as they run in and out of the water, chasing frisbees and balls, and getting to know the other dogs. You have your occasional pup that will be so happy and want to meet everyone and runs up on you unexpectedly, which can catch you off guard. Other than that it is a very pleasant part of the beach. We have even gone to that particular beach when we didn't have our four legged family member with us.
It is very clean and they have bags that you can grab (free of charge) that way you can pick up after your dog, and everyone that goes here is very good about this. I have never seen anyone not pick up after their pooch.
It is one of our favorite spots to go and I would recommend it to anyone who has four legged family members and even to those who don't.
It does cost to park in the parking lot. It is $1.75 per hour. You should bring $1.00 bills as if you only have a $5.00 bill or higher, it will not give you change. I believe it has the slot where you are able to pay with a debit card as well.

By Jay C |

My dog loves coming here. Really dedicated to people with dogs so don’t recommend going and trying to relax without a dog. They can ply in the water, run on the beach, play with the other dogs. Be prepared for sand in the car but dog will thank you for days

By KyraWanders |

This beach is great. You have to pay for parking but it’s only $3 for an hour I believe. So many friendly dogs. Very clean considering it’s a dog beach! Dogs can go off leash.

By JohnisWhere |

If you love dogs, you can't beat the winning combination of playing in the beach and watching all the dogos having fun with their humans.

By AfriKai |

Being a great friend of all dogs, I had to go there even though our three puppies stayed back at home (overseas). The beach is nothing short of amazing for dogs and their owners. You´ll find all sorts of dogs there, all playing around in peace. The beach is probably well over a mile long, so even if you are looking out for a quiet place with your dog, you´ll find it!

By Mike O |

Everything you need in a dog beach... plenty of space, it's clean, you can play in the water, and the sunsets are amazing!

By drroz2018 |

Dog Beach is a very special place to bring your dog. It is a wonderful experience for you and your pet. Watching the dogs play in the waves is magical and everyone is considerate and picks up after their pets. It is something to see even if you don't have a dog.

By Jonathan H |

I am not a dog owner but was walking through the designated part of the beach where dogs are allowed. 4 different owners didn’t see their dogs poo and therefore wasn’t collected. I made the point to 2 of the owners that their beloved animals had done their “thing” and both did nothing about clearing it up.
It’s disgraceful this goes on.

By The_HB_Local |

Want to enjoy a day at the beach with your4 legged friend? Nothing beats Huntington Beach Dog Beach. So many dogs having the time of their lives, and we humans get to enjoy the perfect weather of HB.

By doyle davison |

One of the best dog beaches on the planet... still have to be careful on weekends or holidays with 909'ers or inlanders bringing pit bulls, male dominant breeds, etc. any dog can get attacked so pay attention to your animals and those wondering astray. low tide is great if your dog likes playing in the water. sand is nice and dogs are pretty much blocked in from highway 1 or pct because of the cliffs... always be aware of your dogs surrouding and signs of dog aggression. every breed is so different.

By Chafic H |

Dog Beach in HB is a must if you have dogs in need of exercise and socializing with other dogs. Lots of running space for dogs of leashes. Easy to get to by car of biking on the strand, although I prefer biking since the parking spaces are a bit limited.

Great place to let your dog run free! For the most part, a nice place for the dogs. Might be better to head over during the week, if possible. Gets very crowded in the summer and weekends. In the last few years, there appear to be more unpredictable dogs, maybe because it's getting very popular... but it's great to let your dog run free! Just remember, to pickup after your pet!

My dog and I had so much fun at this beach. The meter accepts credit cards or cash and the receipt is placed inside the front window to be readable by the officer. I received a warning so Be Warned . There is a dog fountain and bathroom at the entrance area. Doggie bags and trash cans are accessible. The beach is wide and long. Life guards are present but don't know the schedule so if important check schedule. My dog ran the shallow water for two hours meeting dog friends or chasing the ball. She fell happily asleep as soon as she was in the car. People were friendly and nearby their own dogs. Some on leash but most off leash. There were a couple surfers, some body boarders and some younger children enjoying the ocean. There are volunteers who help keep the beach clean and dog owners seemed very responsible in keeping the beach clean. It was such a delight to see all the different types of dogs having a good time along with their owners. I was one of them.

this is my favorite place to bring my dog. She loves to play with other dogs and she loves the water

By Duran915 |

Had a great time. Loved seeing the dogs running around. Very clean beach. Recommended for families with kids.

By jms92648 |

This beach is long and wide but of course the majority of patrons settle right at the surf line. Lots of room for dogs to run, swim and play. Come prepared to pay park and survive on what you bring and haul out. I don’t remember if there are fire rings but I think not. Only game in town and most dogs love it.

By Ken Q |

This is a beautiful beach. Lots of great views from here. It's fairly busy. Fun to enjoy in the morning.

By afernandez612 |

We celebrated my pup's 6mo bday here & we had a blast! It was one big pooch party...sooo many dogs all shapes & sizes, running, fetching, playing & swimming. It is the best place to take your dog!

By Denise L |

Mama had a great time at the beach with her Jack Russell and Chi-We. They loved the sand and rolling in the seaweed (EWE), but the waves, not so much. Hey, it was their first time! Great beach for dogs and dog owners.

By Chazz B |

This place is always packed on the weekends with a tons of dogs running around. Very sociable, and has great surf too. You are right in front of some bluffs, to set up your spot for the day.

Make sure you have a leash for your dog, thats the only issue people deal with.

By RNRVTraveler |

We travel all over the country and have been to just about every major part of the coastline in the US and it’s hard to find a great place that allows dogs. So thank you Huntington Beach for this awesome spot!
We found this to be a spacious beautiful beach. There were many dogs, but we didn’t see any that were aggressive and it looked like most people were cleaning up after them. There are sanitation stations with bags and trash cans placed in convenient locations along the beach.
There was also plenty of surfing and big waves to enjoy.

By Donna S |

We are so fortunate to have this beach set aside for our dogs to run and play. I am grateful to the folks who set it up and monitor it.

By james j |

What a great dog beach. People are friendly, dogs get to run, swim, whatever they want. Surf is perfect for retrieving dogs. (I have a Golden). Never wants to leave. A+.

By Linda D W |

Loved the dog park. I have a small 7 lb dog who would love to run here. Only concern is the dogs being off leash.
Lovely beach.

By ianc951 |

Great place to take your dog/s to stretch their legs. Parking can be an issue, we had to park several blocks away.

By Debbie |

It is so fun to go to the beach with dogs!!! They are SO happy to be there, and have the opportunity to play with other dogs. And a great place to meet people!!

By Beek |

We love bringing our pup here. Parking is usually pretty ample and the dogs are friendly and playful. If you come, please pick up after your dog (and yourself).

By JE0928 |

We ended up going to Huntington Dog Beach today & it was awesome! We put the actual address into the GPS and it took us right to street parking directly on the beach. It was meter parking & super cheap & the meter took a debit card. The beach was very nice and clean so humans can comfortably swim and lay out also. There were lots of people out surfing which was fun to watch. Just down the road was downtown Huntington Beach with lots of shops and restaurants. Many of the restaurants allowed dogs. (FYI Yelp has a new search filter that let's you search for restaurants that allow dogs!) We ate at Zimzala and it had some fantastic appetizers and burgers. They also had drafts and wine by the glass for $5 :) They also have a special doggie menu. Great experience all around!

By Staci M |

My daughter takes my dogs there weekly!! They love it....
Although last week, my pup got a fishing lure stuck in his leg as soon as they arrived and ended up in surgery at the vet :-( Keep an eye out! We still love it and will continue to go, but this is a sad event.

By C. K |

A beautiful stretch of scenery and open space for you pooch to roam. Never overly crowded because us dog lovers don't mind and influx of canine in all angles.

Bring change mon-thurs to get good parking on the street at the meter. Be prepared to hike it if arriving around noon on weekends.

Pick up ya poop.

By lescraneop |

My Daughter takes her Boxer Bella here all the time, I've accompanied her with Bella a few times. Have to admit Bella is more crazy there than normal (she's a yr old). A little crowded by Goldenwest.
Biggest draw back some people don't know/or choose to ignore the rules governing 'Dog Beach'. With Fishing being the most Hazardous to our canine friends. But owners do a good job at chasing offenders away. Contacting the Life Guards takes care of the most stuborn offenders. "No Fishing or Surfing Allowed"
Give it a try your Pooch will love it and you!

By HBGinaG |

I love the HB Dog Beach - especially on early mornings and non-holiday weekends. This beach can get busy with many, many dogs, but I have very seldom experienced problem pets or pet parents personally. I usually try to stay away from the busier times and I would not recommend this for non-dog-loving people!! May also be challenging for those with small children as the dogs run and play all over - as they should :)

By Dana Los Angeles |

Great place to walk the dog, watch great surf, and stick your toes in the sand. A California classic.

By Nina K |

This is the best off leash dog beach. About 1.5 miles starting at Goldenwest and PCH. Lots of dogs all the time. Families come with their dogs. As long as you don’t mind getting run over at times by playful dogs it’s all good. Surf dog competition was last weekend and was fun with lots of vendor/ non-profits. We go here very often bc we live nearby.

By ocpair29 |

But if you don't enjoy dogs, don't come. It's great to see dogs so happy interacting with other dogs and people.

By zulx p |

The area is wonderful, water is too cold tho,it is fun and a lot of people,i have been there twice, i would love to visit it again.

By Summers On Wheels |

Love driving there and spending time one the beach with my dog.
Owners don't always clean after their pet but the beach is as clean as it can be expected.

By Takao I |

Visited last week for a stroll on the beach with my relatives and their 2 dogs. Everyone was SO friendly and stopped by to talk, pet our dogs, share dog stories, take pictures, etc. Its really one of a kind vs other dog parks as it's on a long stretch of the beautiful Huntington Beach that allows dogs. You don't have to have a dog of your own. If you love dogs and want to see all dogs of different breeds, this is the place to be!

By Jessica G |

Great dog beach. I bring my dog here every time I am in town. All the dogs for the most part seem well behaved and everyone seems friendly.

By PinayT |

After lunch, our son and his friends agreed to take their dog here. It was a perfect place! It was great to discover such a place existed.

By Kathy W |

This beach is so fabulous, has bluffs on land side so it is a very safe. Most dogs are very friendly as are the people. Love this place, but I my dog Abby loves it even more!

By delacy498 |

This is my favorite dog beach. It's a beautiful beach. But there's also so many other things in the area that dogs can do. I start my mornings at a dog friendly café. Take my dogs to the beach. Take them on a long walk along the walking path that runs along the ocean. Then on to dog friendly Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Finally, Laguna Beach to sit in the park and watch the ocean. The dogs don't wake up for days.

By Christi Carl Galla |

Its a great place to take your dog if they love other dogs, you have free poo bags and your dog can run free and play play play out dogs love it there. Every time we drive by my dog starts crying to go there, it's like Disneyland for dogs. They run free and play ball and socialize with all the dogs.

By dogtorCB |

I absolutely love Huntington Dog Beach. It's very clean, everybody that goes there is typically very nice (and so are their furry friends). There are poop bags available, plenty of trash cans, and TONS of beach space.

By Traci W |

My dog and I have been exploring California's dog friendly beaches, this time choosing Huntington Dog Beach. We found it a wonderful, spacious place for off leash exploring, a solid mile of relatively clean sand to hike. The surf can be a bit rough, great for the surfers who share this beach, but the swimming dogs had no problem. There is NO free parking, so be prepared with ample quarters or a debit card. Overall, a very nice, pet friendly beach.

By 1HBgirl |

Dog beach is off the bluffs just north of HuntingtonBeach pier on Pacific Coast Hwy There is hourly parking by debit or credit card and then you walk down a short hill to the beach. Lots of people bring their dogs here to run and play in the surf and cavort with other dogs. There is nowhere to hose the dog off when you’re ready to leave so bring plenty of towels. It is a long stretch of beach and very scenic from the bluff. There is also a bike trail you can ride, walk or run on. Your pooch will love it!

By Debbie L |

Went for a walk before leaving HB and found the dog beach. As dog owners we loved watching all the pooches having fun in an awesome enviroment. Also loving the poo bags being available for use, the UK needs to learn from this beach. xx

By D S |

I really like visiting Dog Beach. I don't even own a dog! But getting to visit the beach and seeing the fun everyone is having makes it a wonderful place to visit. The Surfing dog event is funny and fantastic to attend. Other than that, both people and dogs are happy and having fun. I end up taking a ton of pictures and videos!

By Caroline M |

Griffin did not get t0 the beach - but we toured the walking trail. Be on the lookout for squirrels that live in earth-dug holes. All the dogs seem to know this. Huge area for dog romping.

By Victoria A |

What an awesome place to bring your dogs. Family friendly dogs everywhere. Lots of splashing in the water

By Alyson A |

Great place for dogs. Not a good place for leashes tho ... they can run free and should. Perfect excuse to give them a bath too. Wear them out and clean them up! Win, win.

By LoveTravel245816 |

Best dog park we've ever been to......very clean and very easy to get to . Dogs of all sizes and all are very friendly

By Scottysgirl01 |

If you are a dog loving tourist this is one hidden in place in HB that you must see! This small stretch of beach is dedicated to all the local dog owners who love to have their best friends play in the surf with them. Take a stroll north of the HB Pier and you can spend some time watching so many different breeds just playing and having fun...just as all dogs should do!

By mauiwolf |

There are so few off-the-leash beaches in Southern California and I don’t understand why. The atmosphere with the dogs running around having fun is better than a non-dog beach.

This spot in HB is pretty big. I believe it’s a mile long. The only drawback is the parking. The lot for the beach is on a small bluff and they have no stairs down to the sand, so you have to walk down to one end or the other.

By D R |

LA and OC are sadly too stingy to share their beautiful miles of beaches with our dogs. So it wasn't easy finding a location to share our holiday with our dog. This beach turned out to be completely clean and long enough for great off-leash walks. We stayed at Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel, an easy walk to the dog beach. Kimpton welcomes dogs of all breeds and sizes at no charge, and combined with a fun romp at the dog beach, it is a great travel destination!

By Tripinator146 |

We visited Huntington Dog beach whilst on our USA vacation. It was great to see the dogs playing in such a nice big space. We didn't have a dog to take to the beach as we were visiting from Australia but it was awesome to visit to make some 4 legged friends.

By James W |

Our furry friend, Freddie, the long-haired Chihuahua, had a grand old time romping on the beach and interacting with the other dogs. The water was cool and refreshing, and the beach spotless; a great day for all!

By misslak2017 |

Awesome beach dogs running all over very entertaining. I would highly recommend with or without your furry friends.

By desending |

If your handicap parking is free. If not just a dollar fifty per hour. Bathroom was extremely dirty. But that’s what people do. But over all fun for your doggy friends. Worth the visit. Having fun with you best friend. Remember as you leave put your dog on a leash. The cars are not your dogs friend.

By mac |

Great beach for your dog! Wide beach, easy access; parking and sidewalks above the beach.

Fun spot for the family and your pets!

By Paul H |

We love dog beach. Nice people and plenty of room to roam with mans best friend. Parking is good, nice place to go with your dog.

By Bruce R Franklin |

Are you a dog owner who loves the beach? Huntington Beach Dog Beach is the place for you and your best friend. When viewing the beach, I observed a wide variety of animals from very large to small. Some were on the beach and others were swimming in the surf.

You can view the boats traveling to and from the oil drilling platforms off the coast. You can also observe ships leaving and arriving at the Long Beach Harbor. Some of these transport ships are enormous. The dogs don't appear to be interested. They are busy having a good time.

Take an extra moment before hitting the sand and read the local rules for the beach to be aware of how everything operates. It can save frustration in the future. This is a regular stop for locals who have dogs.

Overall this is a excellent location to get your dog out sometimes.

By CarlsTimelessTravel |

Our dogs love this beach, about a mile long for a nice long walk while in and out of the water chasing a tennis ball, dogs are not protecting their yard and get along with each other quite well. This is a must for dog lovers and the dog while visiting Huntington Beach, 5 Stars!

By Jaydub321 |

We have taken our dogs here several times, and they have a great time. A quiet stretch of beach for the dogs, with parking, a path to access, and even poop bags. The dogs run off-leash in the sand and surf and interact with other dogs doing the same. We have small dogs, and others are larger, so be aware of that dynamic. Also, you have to watch your dog so it doesn't get swept away in the surf.

By Jackie M |

As a Huntingtohn Beach local I go to Dog Beach several times a month year around. I don't know who enjoys it more, our dog or I. The majority of people who visit Dog Beach pick up after their pets and the life guards patrol to make sure that the marine life is respected by the domesticated visitors.

By Peter G |

Plenty of chances for dogs to play and run to their heart's content. Friendly owners, friendly dogs and everybody behaving responsibly when I was there

By Fender M |

A nice beach transformed into a digs toilet. Mass amounts of digs unleashed cramping and pissing on the sand your bare feet wKk in. Most dog owners do not pick up after the dogs. The beach has a stench of a sewer. It's gross. Saw many dogs mounting other dogs. What a waste of a beach. Not sure what rocket scientists figured a dog feces infested beach is a good idea

By BellaRenee |

It was nice to find a dog beach down there! The beach was big, clean, and fun for our small dog to have friends to play with.

By LOVEMEXICO213 |

Went with friends & their dogs. If was great beach! They had local bathrooms. Only thing I regret is didn't get shirt from People out front selling them once we first got there.

By Austin H |

If you want to legally have your dog on the beach you don't have any other option so it is here or nowhere for you and fido.

By Carol1235 |

Ive lived in Huntington Beach for many years and go to dog beach often. My last dog loved going to dog beach but these days my current dogs aren't the best suited for hanging with other dogs. So, we leave them at home and go on our own! It's wonderful to see all the happy dogs enjoying themselves. Great day to hang at the beach and do some dog-watching

By Wandering traveler |

In my opinion one of the most fun dog parks in the OC. Cliffs keep the mutts from wondering into traffic, while the ocean is right there. Be sure to grab a poop bag when you can, the trash cans are spread out along the coast, use them. Lots of dogs, beach bodies (not all should be in their speedos) and surfers provide a pleasant mix for a day in the sun with your furry friend. Parking can be a challenge, please be patient.

By SenorGancho |

Perfect spot to let the pooches run wild, play in the surf and meet some new friends. Parking can be a challenge but be patient and a spot comes open.
Be sure to take some doggie bags(they're free for crying out loud). Can't believe some people who don't clean up after their dog!

By Leslie T |

This is a great place to spoil your pooch! Locals are friendly, and the beach is clean with good facilities.

By Josh H |

The beach is HUGE, there's tons of room to walk up and down it. Lots of friendly people and dogs. However. This is the only dog beach in the area, on-leash or off-leash. So when your super friendly happy-go-lucky dog rushes up to see some new doggy friends and they almost bite his face off because they are aggressive on-leash-only dogs, it's a pretty disappointing experience to say the least. And there are plenty of on-leash only aggressive dogs there.

By hblaura |

Dogs know when they are getting close to dog beach. They drive over from Utah! That is their first stop when they arrive in Huntington Beach.

By Alan A |

Great surf spot in the winter. Be entertained by dog owners.
Land mines are in the sand but rairly. Great views of long beach.

By Janice T |

Great opportunity for your dog to join a pack and just have a free day off the leash.

It is amazing how well the dogs behave.

I smile from the time I arrive until we leave

By Cheryl S |

Our hotel did not allow pets so therefore we did not go to the dog beach. Pets were allowed at most restaurants on Main Street

By Hereandthere12 |

Wonderful day at the beach. Dogs love it so do their people. Dogs love to romp and play The dogs will love you for it.

By Derek C |

This beach was great and one of the few off-leash beaches around the area. Was our pups fist time at the beach and she loved it. The beach is super clean as well. Highly recommend!

By Dee |

Fido’s first time and the beach and didn’t disappoint. Great beach and surf for the pups Friendly, respectful dog owners.

By En L |

Easy to get to and clean. Seems like everyone is very good at cleaning up after their dogs here. So nice to have a place for the dogs to run free.

By KodoDrummer |

Lots of happy dogs here. There should be more places like this where dogs can run free and enjoy a swim or just running in the water and on the beach sand.

By LESTER88 |

I do not have a dog but i often do sit and will bring the dogs here. You do not even have to have a dog to visit and enjoy. If you need some good fuzz therapy just find a big fuzzy dog and start scratching it. I enjoy watching the dogs play and the big dogs pouncing on the little yappity ones.

By Camper798861 |

I jog by this beach every morning and see dog lovers playing with there pets. Most dogs are well behaved and it is safe to bring your pooch with you:>>

By badwolflibrarian |

Great place to bring your dogs here, pretty nice and clean beach.
The only downside is the time you have to spend to wait in line for parking and toilet, there's only one unisex toilet in the area.

By Kristine K |

Great beach for dogs, very busy! It is an off leash beach so keep that in mind. Be patient with parking, there are three lots and midday there was a line at each one…but they moved quickly.

By M L |

Our dogs love this beach. They get to roam around off leash! They usually have a life guard available to keep everyone safe

By Rick H |

Great place to let your dog run off the leash! Dog Beach is very long and not crowded. Easy to access and we didn’t have any trouble finding parking. Have been here several times will be back again and again!

By 782Gail |

Take a knapsack, take a cooler, blanket, go in the morning. You & your dog or dogs will have a ball, playing with toys. Our Jazz (a black lab) swims in the waves like a pro! All he dogs run, swim. Fun to watch or participate. We cant get jazz away. plan on a few hours of pure joy!

By Amanda D |

We loved this beach. My dog 7 months old first time. She loved it. Dogs were friendly that day. Most were on leashes. Would recommend this place to dog lovers.

By Hal72 |

Nice, large beach area for dogs. It is off-leash and there were lots of dogs. All were very well behaved; I saw no incidents. Beach was clean. Plus, there were fishermen, surfers, and other recreationists used the beach too. Families with small children too. Parking is somewhat limited.

By scobooty |

Huntington Beach is beautiful, so when you add dogs it can only get better. All the owners are mellow and dogs are well-behaved. The husband and I come here even though we don't have a dog because the atmosphere is so nice. And I also love when dogs come over to say hello :)

By Steve Concialdi |

What a great dog beach. We took our 5 month old puppy here for the first time & we all had an absolute blast! Our dog brought a friend but all the dogs seemed to have a wonderful time on the beach. I wish more beaches allowed dogs. It was a memorable time for all! Highly recommended. Steve Concialdi

By morewind1 |

For those who could not bring your dog with you, this is a great opportunity to get your dog fix on, not to mention walk a beautiful beach.

By Xanadu4444 |

Very much enjoyed this wide, expansive beach with beautiful water. As a dog beach, it was fun to watch the dogs and they were all well-behaved and didn't bother our children. Lot of activity -- walking, running, biking -- in the area and not crowded at all. I would highly recommend it near sunset as it is exceptionally beautiful then and the light is perfect for photos.

By Jane D |

This long stretch of sand along Bolsa Chica State Beach is almost always full of dogs and people. To park, look for the pay stations in the paved lots on Pacific Coast Highway. A heads up: Be aware of visitors (without dogs) who are picnicking or sun-bathing -- they sometimes get annoyed when a dog approaches them, but come on, it is a dog beach.

By Herb C |

One of a kind beach in so cal. Dog park is a good place to take your fur babies. Please curb your dog to keep it clean and open for all to enjoy

By robinmL3688EZ |

Great, clean beach for your pups to frolic in the Pacific Ocean. If you don't have dog with you, it's still fun to sit on the beach, or on one of the park benches on the hill above it, to watch the dogs play with their human companions. Fun way to get outdoors, enjoy the ocean breeze and have some fun on a weekday or weekend afternoon.

By paulhb1 |

I live in HB so this is local review. I go to HB dog beach all the time. I'm so happy the city allows this.. It does get busy during the summer but all of the dog owners are respectful and it's about enjoying the day at the beach with your k9 friends...
Parking is ok, you can find parking around 20th / 21st streets non summer months.
Summer time it's hit or miss...
Enjoy it

By James C |

We went here to take our Golden Lab to the beach. What a great spot on the ocean to take a dog. There were lots of different varieties of dogs on the beach all off leash. It is amazing to so many dogs having such a great time with each other. We were there during the week day and although parking was sparse, we still managed to find a spot. 3 hours was $6.00. It is about $2.00 an hour which we thought was reasonable. There was a washroom there but it was locked. I found it odd that a popular beach like this would not have any washrooms for people visiting the beach. This is why the 4 stars. There was one washroom but it was locked.

By Joyce N |

With miles of open beach along the Pacific shores, the City Huntington Beach wisely set aside a segment of beach that allows dogs and their dog owners.
