Lived here for many years and only recently discovered the marvelous walk from near the post office to downtown old Dublin. Best time (I think) is early spring and early fall when leaves are a bit sparse but still present enough to enclose you in a mini wonderland.

This could be a nice attraction for the community if some of the garbage was cleaned up. Waterfall was pretty but small. Nice hiking trails along the falls. Scenic cliffs and overlooks surrounding the area.

Hidden very close to hotels and commercial buildings, this is a lovely reprieve from the built up areas of Dublin. ( literally a 3 min drive from my Embassy Suites stay) The city has done a wonderful with this area with bridges, and lookout points along the way. Beautifully maintained. A wonderful quick escape- Thanks City of Dublin!

Found this trail by accident and so glad I did. It's a trail full of nature and when there is water flowing, the falls are awesome.

By cenzt |

Good trail. We arrived at approximately 12:30 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the trail. We opted to hike the Indian Run Falls trail which was a roughly .9 mile out and back trail around the park. The trail was relatively easy and consisted of walking on a gravel/boardwalk type surface for a majority of the walk. The trail took us through the forest and we were able to enjoy scenic views of the stream. Unfortunately on the day that we went, there was not much water flowing from the waterfall due to recent droughts in the area.

Tip: I recommend spending 45 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.

We decided to walk from our hotel to see the water falls. We apparently started at the waterfall end of the path. It was a nice walk past the school baseball field and to a small cemetery. There is no marking for the path. There is a board at the beginning and the end, but nothing on it. A bridge crossing the river is closed. We happened to get to the best view of the waterfall by accident. It's on the path that is shorter and on the side opposite the path that goes past the school baseball field.

The trails are very well maintained. When I went it must not have rained for awhile, but it was still beautiful and relaxing walking the trails and enjoying the sites. You can go into the water or stay on the trail

I was enchanted with this waterfall park hidden amidst the post office, grocery, gas stations in Dublin. It is serene and beautiful.

Having recently moved to Columbus, I have been trying to find the nature trails. This is a very pretty little park with some beautiful scenery. You can probably hike for 30-60 minutes if you take the different trails and meander.

By CARR1EF1SHER |

We found about this park while researching a trip to the Columbus Zoo. Beautiful, hidden waterfalls that you would not expect in the middle of a town.

By Ryan Y |

If you need a "Smoke Break" from your job in Dublin, but you don't smoke, then I highly recommend checking out this park!

I spent many O' days "seeking inspiration" in this park while working in Dublin. The falls, the trails, the trees, the rocks, the views: this park is practically a meditative experience without actually having to sit down and meditate. I would normally say "don't go here" out of pure greed to keep a gem like this quiet, but the demand to develop is so high, that we must all demand that sacred spots like this are protected.

Check it out Dubliners, and make this place your "Central Park"

By Nathan S |

Up here on business and it was a few minutes from my hotel. It's a state park so there is gravel parking and only takes two minutes to walk to the falls. Would be nicer if people would stop littering and graffitiing the place. But for a nice sight in the middle of a city you can't beat it!

By realbiglu |

I was meeting my daughter in Dublin. While my wife and I waited we went for a walk in this park. It was a nice surprise. There was a flowing creek, bridges, and a nice view. One the better hidden city parks around.

By Ms_lo |

Was very disappointed. Not sure why but the 'falls' were pretty dry. We got in a nice little hike though trying to see the falls though.

By Relax526612 |

Nice scenic view but parking can be difficult. Nice place to enjoy the view. Nice place to bring the family for a picnic or to take pictures

By Garrett G |

This is a great hike, the trail is well maintained and clean. It is very pretty and the falls were larger than I thought they would be. We were there after a huge storm so it was impressive to see. My only complaint would be that they need to trim some of the branches/weeds at the over looks so you can get a better picture, but overall I was very impressed.

By Marion G |

Cute little Waterfalls and nice Trails around them,we didn't walk the whole Trail, City should place Trail Signs how far the Trails are and where they end up at.

By Dee |

Pretty place. We had a nice walk. They kids enjoyed it. They even played at a school on the play ground.

By TravelGirl |

Very small area that is pretty. You will see my other reviews as we decided to do all the "kitchy" things in Dublin that were listed on TA because we had nothing else planned. So instead of visiting the casino and loosing money...we did this. Took us about 1/2 hour to visit all the places:)

By cyeack |

If you have time in Dublin and like the outdoors, this is a great place. Indian Run Falls is active during periods of rain, and it is worth the walk.

By Linda C |

Lovely walk in the woods. Path is not totally secluded but provides a bit of the woods in the middle of Dublin.

By Jubilee Jer |

Beautiful walk along the rim of the gorge that includes views of the creek, water falls, and rock cliffs. The falls are beautiful if you can get a good view of them with all the trees. We enjoyed our walk from the parking lot across the bridge at the upper falls along the rim to the cemetery and back. Some really old grave stones in the cemetery dating back to the 1800’s.

By Kay_Ayim |

This park is beautiful and also pretty tiny. If you're looking for a nice long walk, this isn't going to do it for you. Bring your water shoes so you can go wading, but be careful, it's kind of slippery! If you walk all the way to the end, there is a cemetery from the 1800s that was renovated I think in the early 1980s. Currently a lot of construction with the new library going up, but it doesn't interfere with the park. The parking lot is very small. There are several overlook areas where you can watch the falls or sit and rest. Overall a very nice park!

By FILIDORO1997 |

I was down in Dublin for business and had a few hour to kill, wow who would of thought such a beautiful place was literally around the corner. Wonderful water falls and seemed like it would never end, trail ended at an old cemetery from the 1800's. This is a must if your in Dublin and can be done in under an hour.

By S2595YHanitam |

From my understanding a very beautiful falls from my family's pictures and their telling me about it. While they have handicapped parking which is nice, they have a hike down the trail which is not wheelchair accessible and sadly their is no sign telling you that until you get partway down and see the crushed stone and have back. That's the only reason I give this 4 stars. Put up a sign saying not handicapped accessible, please.

By ssutt45 |

What a great hidden away little trail. Easy walking and peaceful. It doesn’t feel like you’re by a bustling little town.

By Sonten |

I got to explore this hidden gem the last week of October. There is a nice walk/ hike you can take around the rim of the gorge. There are servers waterfalls, and a very cool old bridge across the expanse.

By Anna A |

Just moved to Dublin. Wanted to explore and this place was very peaceful. Highly recommend to anyone that visits Dublin. It's right near the highway but it's tucked in that you never know this beautiful place even exists😊

By hennesda |

We visited this while on vacation in Columbus. Like so many others have noted, this is an absolute oasis in a city of noise, hustle, and crowds. The hike is quite easy and is well shaded. The waterway is easily accessible but the falls were not. Unless we (and apparently everyone else who was there) missed something, there is no access to the base of the falls. Maybe this is due to the safety measures they have been installing recently. None the less, it is still a great spot. You can access the water above the falls, and can see the falls quite easily from the viewing stand on one side. It was not terribly busy either when we went. There is ample parking and it is easy to find.

By Caroyn O |

We stayed in a hotel close by this park. I didn't expect much more than the ability to view some small falls, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this incredible oasis in the middle of a busy suburb! It was very easy to find, and a very short walk to the river. My family enjoyed walking in the water, and even got adventurous when we saw other people walking down the falls into small pools. The signs say no jumping off the falls into the pool. To me that would go without saying, but I'm sure there are people who have, and have gotten hurt. We took extra precautions not to slip on the rocks. I would recommend water shoes if you are going into the water, but we managed with flip flops and sandals. I noticed only few pieces of trash. Disappointing, of course, but it could be much worse. I think most people visiting this park have respect, and would not leave their trash. We went back twice in two days- that's how much we all enjoyed it.

By allyouneedistara |

What a surprise! We were looking for something to do after our hotel didn't have any pool slots open. We found these falls, which had a great trail. We spent around 45 minutes to a hour walking around.

By Yvonne W |

Not trucker friendly. Nor stroller friendly. Hot and full of bugs in summer. But I didn't make it to the end

By MacfromMontgomery |

The falls are not very exciting but at least it was a short walk from the parking lot. The weather had been dry so the falls weren't flowing too much. It was an easy walk to the falls along a trail and boardwalk.

By Dan M |

Beautiful hidden path that ends with a surprising beautiful water fall. Great place to take pictures. A hidden gem.

By zack f |

Indian run falls is in a decent sized park. Extremely easy to find, parking lot holds maybe 15-20 cars but I’ve never seen it full. There is a very short walk to the falls. Trails are on either side of the waterfall with look outs for your viewing pleasure. Multiple “unofficial” trails exist that can get you much better views. The falls themselves are small in size but the surrounding area is a dense woodlands right in the heart of a major suburb. If you didn’t know better you wouldn’t know your in the city. For as scenic and easy to get to as it is you can’t beat this little stop.

By Jennifer M |

Close to busy area this beautiful nature area. Short walk hard to see falls with green foliage. Relaxing listening to the water bubble through the falls.

By Chops1971 |

This was our first visit, and we loved it. Just a few blocks from historic Dublin, this wooded area is like stepping into another world. The trees and the waterfalls just make it a peaceful and relaxing environment to get away from the traffic and people! We will definitely be returning!

By 774Beth |

The pathways are cemented with good rails. You can get off the trails and get down to the water but for some it maybe too slippery or steep so do so with caution. The falls can be hard to see unless you get off the good paths. Overall it is very peaceful and pretty. Other than a few picnic tables there are no facilities. The other downside is you can't go all the way around the park and have to take the pathways up each side of the ravine.

By V2241DEkevinl |

A very pretty little park. An adventurous walk around. It's hidden and out of the way, but very clean and well laid out.

By Lkrankel |

This was a hidden gem in the middle of the city. It was a very short walk to see waterfalls and an amazing deep gorge, nice spot for pictures and a quick hike. Plenty of parking.

By ancientmariner21 |

I love bringing my son and eventually my other son to this great attraction! It's shallow enough to wade through with good water shoes or just barefoot. Watch for some deeper holes, so carefully watch your step. You can easily climb down some of the falls but the huge drop-off is one you stay clear of. Highly recommend it!

By ec0adventurer |

Nice to get out of the hotel and be amongst the trees for a while. Recommend for short walk. It's not strenuous and will give you a chance for some fresh air.

By Courtney S |

There are signs saying not to swim or jump off the falls. However, many families and other people were swimming it in. Grown adults were drinking while letting their kids swim! I called the number on the sign to report this, but the lady didn't seem to care. I really wanted to enjoy nature, but instead it seems this is just another water park. It's a shame!

By judeteachwrite |

This is a beautiful place. You walk on the high sides of the ravine and there are viewing places to look down at the water. Eventually you can descend and in summer people, especially children like to paddle in the river wearing plastic shoes. Leafy overhangs make for a shady walk.

By pbair90 |

This park is a short walk from both Jeni's Ice Cream, and Bad Frog Yogurt, as well as a number of other Dublin eateries. It is hidden just behind the Dublin Library, and is wonderful for a short walk through the woods. The paths are well maintained, with viewing bridges and stairs through steaper areas. Great way to spend a few minutes walking off your ice cream, and enjoying the peaceful sounds of the stream and waterfalls.

By ejr216 |

Grabbed a coffee and went for a nature walk, very relaxing. Great spot to take the shoes and socks off and go for a nice refreshing walk in the stream on a hot summer afternoon.

By Denise F |

Enjoyed this walk and the falls were just beautiful. Little hidden but defiantly a gem and a place to visit if your in the area

By 53Susie |

A beautiful woodland with gorgeous waterfalls in the middle of an Urban Jungle. A nice escape without the drive. Nice paths for walking a treat for a relaxing escape.

By Vernon N |

It was very cold the day we went. I was in town for a professional meeting. We went afterwards and I must say the frozen waterfall was a beautiful sight. I will have to go back during the Spring. It's a nice spot right in the middle of the city.

By caratoledoohio |

We were staying in a hotel just down the road and found this place. It has some nice little falls. There are easy to walk trails. I was surprised at the amount of trash I saw but maybe it just is left over from being hidden under the winter snow.

By KiPa |

Nice quick stroll thru this place can be as little as 15 minutes or an hour or more.
Beautiful setting. Falls are not big. This place is serene, wooded. Trails on both sides of the water. They have done a good job building barriers which made this park safe in my opinion.
One can get down to the water without much of hassle.
Beautiful.

By trybble1 |

I came here the first time about 6-7 years ago looking for a geocache. I liked it so much we did our Christmas card photo there a few years later. I have seen this place bone dry, and other times with the water crashing all over, usually in the spring after the snow all melts. It's also neat to see it in the very early spring when it's still partially frozen. There are also some nice walking trails in the area that connect it to another park.

By Wise Woman Wanderer |

I visited this park after a heavy rain in the fall and was rewarded with powerful falls and a beautiful hike through fallen colored leaves. Just the type of outdoor adventure that I love! The trail was wide enough for two people. The trail on the west side is rather short, but the trail on the east side was longer. Parts of the trail requires navigating steps with handrails. Several observation decks were in place. This park was easy to find; the parking lot was well-labelled. A log cabin sits at the entrance. My only regret is that the hike was not longer; it was probably just about 1/2 - 3/4 mile round trip.

By bikerjff |

For years I never knew this place existed right in downtown Dublin. One trailhead is behind the Dublin library and the other is off the east side of Shawan Falls Drive where there is a log cabin and medium sized parking lot. The views of the falls and the ravine area are terrific any time of year and the trail is suitable to walk in any type footwear (provided no ice of course!)

By Danee4te |

Even though it was winter I had to go and see the falls. It was a great day so we drove there and it was clear enough to walk the paths. It was beautiful. I wish it was warmer to stay longer but the falls were a frozen mass of icicles and the water frozen over with sounds of running water under the layer of ice. It was a great seven moment of sight seeing. It's really awesome this lies in the middle of Dublin. A gem to s great town!!

By dennis g |

the trail can be slippery. the falls are small but kinda neat in the winter when frozen. If you follow the trail it ends at a old cemetery.
easy parking and walk.

By AtlanticTyger |

This little hidden gem is an oasis of solitude in the middle of Dublin. Thank goodness they saved this gorge and small waterfall from development. The walking trail is nice and the spring wild flowers are really quite pretty. I hope at some point they can deal with some of the invasive species such as Tartarian honeysuckle.

By Rebecca M |

You have got to see this!

What appears is just a regular park takes you down a path that leads to the most beautiful hidden waterfalls!

Take a picnic, date or yoga mat. You will want to stay a while!

By Erin W |

It's amazing that this beautiful area is in the middle of Dublin. It's cool on a hot day and a nice place to take a short hike.

By mysempai |

This was a real treat. It is a fast moving creek flowing down and forming a beautiful cascade. Trails on two sides with one going along the rim or ridge. The trail runs from the parking lot to an old cemetery and a memorial to service men and women. Hard to believe this was inside of 270! We went in February and the views of the creek were unobstructed by leaves. Has to be very pretty in the summer and gorgeous in the fall. Well worth the 40 min drive for us.

By Marncol |

This is a wonderful, shady walking path that begins close to the post office near 161. Gentle rolling path with some steps, that terminates in a pre-Civil War cemetery. It takes less than 30 minutes to meander along. Kids like it for those who are of walking age. The path is not "friendly" to strollers or to those who need a walker or wheelchair. There are some nice waterfalls and views.

By thomp1959 |

In or near Dublin, Ohio? This is a must-see attraction. Take just a few minutes to walk down to see the first falls or spend a couple of hours and see more. This is a hidden gem near downtown Dublin. As a life-long resident of the Columbus area, I had never stopped. Today, I am glad my wife recommended we check it out. The parking lot is small.

My wife, 4-YO son and I stopped an enjoyed the park. You can go down to the water level from near the parking area; however, by the time you see the third falls you are well-above and the water is inaccessible for all intents (unless you wade downstream or climb some steep slopes.) We saw a couple of strollers but didn't witness how they maneuvered the steps. Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Be prepared to keep a tight hand-hold on small children. There are bridges, overlook decks, steps and steep drop-offs. The trail runs from the Falls parking lot to Dublin's Remembrance Park - another nice little stop and well-worth the hike.

By Christine M |

Very scenic trail with groomed walking paths with overlooks. Feels like you are in the middle of the forest, but just a short walk and you find yourself in downtown Dublin ready to grab a bite or ice cream at Jeni's.

By Hatbhat |

Took one of my daughters here as part of a father – daughter date. I never would've guessed this was in the middle of Dublin, just a couple of minutes from the highway. We went during a dry time, but I can easily see how beautiful it would've been if there had been water coming over the falls.

BE WARNED – There are steps up and down. And after the first bridge across, there are no other bridges along the entire path with a return trail. You have to turn around and come back the same path you've walked down. From the website, it looks as if it winds around and spits you out near a populated part of Dublin.

By Rodolfo B |

Depending on the time of the year of your visit, a nice waterfall and charming creek are the main attractions. However, landscape, wild life and proximity to Dublin’s city center are also reasons to spend 30-45min walking through the Park.

By Elliot |

Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. There are multiple cascades here, including one impressive 15-20 foot waterfall. In order to get a good view of this particular waterfall, it may be necessary to descend a dangerous rocky slope — Definitely not possible for all people to do. It’s worth seeing though. My only regret with this area is that the land developers decided that a couple acres was enough land for a park in which one of central Ohio’s only waterfalls resides. That’s not enough land. It shouldn’t be necessary to descend a treacherous rocky slope to see the falls. This area should be a state park with, say, a half mile buffer around the waterfall in every direction. That way, at least people could get a decent hike out of the visit. And walking down a trail alongside the river instead of down a rocky slope would make the experience safer.

By tuttlesj |

Did not go to Indian Run Falls as previous correspondence with the site told us that it was not at all accessible. We understand that trails are usually not for the handicapped, but there have been places that we have been able to visit. This was not one of them.

By Debbie D |

There is a very small area to park and then you will see trails. There appear to be two places with picnic tables but they are surrounded by heavy vegetation. You can walk down to the falls/water which is always enjoyable. Several areas were closed including one bridge. Good for a short afternoon walk.

By Sam W |

We were staying in the area and looking for things to do after the football game. We found this place, it's a stream with a few falls along the way. Some of them are tiny, but if you walk back a little bit, you see a few decent sized ones.

There is a bridge from one side to the other, but it's pad locked off, so you have to walk around using only the first bridge.

By erinb3673 |

Worth a stop. It's a cute park with a handful of bridges and views of the water. I didn't realize there are two different falls here as I just tacked it on to a long run and didn't really explore. Will stop back in the future when I'm in town again.

By docspence925 |

It's a one of the more beautiful trail I've been on and it runs through the woods. It also has some beautiful views of the falls. It's a great place to come and relax.

By hopalongrving |

A nice park in the heart of town - easy hike and great views

There are 2 entrances to the park - one by a school and the other is near the Ground of Remembrance- both entrances guide you towards viewing areas of the waterfalls.

By age14722 |

Easy walking trail. You will hear the sound of water as you take a stroll. Very peaceful. No restrooms and parking is limited.

By dblack107 |

Scenic walk to a mini waterfall. Trail was not muddy despite a recent rain. Excellent excursion for families. We then walked across the street and enjoyed viewing a number of buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

By Jennifer_W_KY |

Wanted to see some nature so we stopped in for a brief hike. Not sure how far the trail goes as we turned around at one point and headed back. A few spots for being able to get down to the water. Would be fun to wade around in the warmer months.

By lizslay |

A fun little park to explore. There is water and the rocks are slippery in spots, so I would not take very young children here.

By jkak2 |

If you park behind Dublin library it is a very easy hike (.1/2 mile). A few observation platforms to look over the area..Easy shaded and cooler area. Yes parents to need to be attentive as there are areas of caution..When you get down to river area before falls the water is perfect for wading on in. Was 1 1/2 ft deep at most, not much current either..Make sure you get to last observation deck (A) that gives you best view of the falls ( about 13 ft drop)... not huge but very pretty.

By Jack K |

Great hiking trails and access to the water and falls. Something for people of all ages to do. Bring a picnic and spend several hours enjoying the views.

By Brandy G |

We went for a hike here on an unseasonably warm Feb day! It was lovely and very well maintained.

There are no facilities here so go before you come!!

By Steve S |

Indian Run Falls is a hidden gem in Dublin that offers a trail, overlooks, waterfalls and lots of trees. It's a great place to getaway for a quick nature fix. I really enjoy a snowy winter hike here for the quiet and peace. The summer brings out lots of birds and last summer we saw a huge pileated woodpecker in this area.

By Srinivas B |

It has pathway inside big trees and middle you can see water fall . Beautiful atmosphere and in summers its a good place for visiting.

By Sonya B |

We had a good time walking the trail. The day we went there was a lot of local kids playing around in the water. It wasn't very quiet. But once they all left it was very peaceful. Not a huge place. But a good spot to relax and enjoy the sound of the water flowing .

By Chiranjib_Mazumdar |

Now, how you feel about India Run Falls depends on what you are looking for. Let me provide you with my perspective.

This place is "raw nature". A long walking trail amidst tall trees and greenery and some waterfalls. The water falls are not hugely impressive, specially for someone like me, who has visited the Niagara falls, but it does provide a serene atmosphere. If you are a nature lover like me, you will like it.

Tips -
1. If you are taking kids with you, please keep them close. The place has some deep gorges and if anyone slips, he is looking at bone fracture if not anything else. i was scared seeing too young girls taking photos standing on top of a rock, that did not have any barriers. If she slipped, she would be history. So, have fun, but don't get too ecstatic.
2. Make sure that you wear shoes that grip well. I had normal boots on and found it slightly hard while trying to traverse rocks to get that perfect snap (yeah I am an amateur photographer).
3. Avoid this place if it rains, coz. it will make it all the more slippery and muddy.
4. I saw people going down and even getting drenched in the falls. I did not do it, but if you are someone who likes that kind of fun, go ahead!
5. Best part is parking is free and you do not need to buy tickets for entry into the park.

Conclusion - Getting bored on a weekend? Nice sunny day? Do not wish to go far and stay close to home? Spend a couple of hours with nature with friends and family - close to home!

By Jon H |

There is a splendid walking trail that goes along Indian Run. It starts near the post-office by the south fork of Indian run and leads to the library. The Falls themselves are actually park the the south fork and occur just before the north fork joins before the run leads into the Scioto River. The shaded path provided a nice respite from the summer heat, and depending on the water levels, it is a great way to cool down wading in shallow water about 30 yards back from the falls. There are also nice picnic shelters at the end of the path near the post office.

By Caroline |

If you like Hocking Hills, this is the closest thing you will get here locally. Clear water, beautiful rocks, peaceful. Nature at its best.

By MamaPenguin18 |

A short walk to the waterfall area. Nice for families. We didn't follow the whole Trail but it seemed nice. Easy access.

By Gilbert Gh |

The Indian Run Falls is small comparing to other parks in the area, but it's a nice walk between the giant trees. there is also a river there where you can see people sitting around it and even swimming.

By Elaine H |

It is so close to the downtown Old Dublin area, yet a hidden gem. There's waterfalls, walking paths, places to park, yet you feel you're away from civilization. It's very peaceful and a place to just enjoy the sights and the quietness.
The paths are easy to walk, and the sights are quite attractive.

By Bev L |

Looked like you were turning into a industry Ian complex but after you parked you could hear the rushing water.

Easy walk. Beautiful views.

By RM |

This place is pretty nice. It is tucked away from view. There's a parking lot & a trail. Once you go down the trail you cross a bridge over a nice river & then you come into an awesome waterfall. There were people walking along the riverbed & in the waterfall, though I wouldn't recommend it. The path was cut clear & there were many wooden platforms to stand on that overhangs the river. The path takes you to the Dublin Memorial Park on Rings Road, in case you get lost.

By jennmatz28 |

this is a hike you should take your children under 5 its very under .5 miles pretty but supper small

By Cindy L |

Love the trails. Very scenic. Recommend visiting if you can. Lots of good areas to stop and take some pictures

By TurtleTraveler2015 |

I’ve been to this place 2 times and it has got to be one of the best places in Dublin. I traveled down the river and had so much fun. I would recommend to wear your bathing suit because there is some deep water and I did not wear my bathing suit and I got my shorts wet. I don’t know how far the river goes but if you go far enough down the river you could find out. There is some places along the river that you could stay dry on but some places it just water. Before the falls there is a path leading over to the falls. And there is a sign that said “No jumping in the falls or no swimming” I would really like to go back again.

By Germangirl |

This park is a wonderful Oasis NW of Columbus. There are several hiking trails and outlook platforms to see different aspects of the waterfall. There is also an open pavilion for a picnic. HOWEVER there are no toilets

By UsuallyNotGrumpy |

Da wife and I have lived near here for 30 years and never knew about the falls and the walk to it. We stumbled on it after a visit to the library. It’s a beautiful long walk along the river (deep down in a gorge at the start) along up to where the waterfall rises. It’s a beautiful area!!!!

Go! Enjoy!

By Lulu S |

I'm from Cleveland; 2hrs away and we have these trails at home. Indian Run Falls was nice but short. If you need to kill an hour and the weather is nice then do it...

By Michael D |

As compared to this attraction located 55 miles southeast of Dublin off US 33 southeast heading to Logan and AthensOH.
These falls are not in comparison to Hawaii’s Waikiki Falls. Mostly apparent resulting from most resent rainfalls especially hard rains of most of year 2018 and first of 2019 which were record year recorded by N W S of CMH airport. A lot of very lust landscape and mini cavern atmosphere in this attraction created by natural beauty not man made. Please keep in mind that ther is considerable stair climbing to reach both of these attraction
.
This is located across from the Dublin original main post office presently a substation as of 1995.

By Michael J |

Weather Spring Summer or Fall the trail around Indian Run Falls will not fail to get you back in touch with nature.

By Melonna |

More for walkers. It is kid and pet friendly. Very short and small. No scenery, very small "falls." Wouldn't recommend, especially if you're a hiker. It is more for those who just like to walk and talk, esp because you see houses and the city the whole time. No adventure or cool things to see. Took us about 15 minutes to walk through the whole thing and back.

By Trippin2 |

This park is located right in the city of Dublin, OH. It has a nice trail with mutiple viewing and picnic areas. It is a very nice waterfall with trails that lead down to the bottom of the falls and there looked to be several areas you could sit by the water and relax.

By Pete S |

Nice little park behind the library in Dublin. I've taken friends and family through before or after drinks in the downtown. Personally, I find the rehab'd grave yard fascinating and very beautiful. The falls are sometimes dry, but in spring and fall they are typically flowing well. It's a nice walk with a fairly well improved and maintained trail.

We had a great time on this trail. It is absolutely beautiful ! Short and it is not difficult at all. Few steps. Now the safety part. Railings were missing in bunches of areas. There are some serious safety concerns in some areas of one goes off the trail ! It is very easy to follow the herd mentality and come out of this place with missing limbs. Stay in the trail. This place is gorgeous !

A little park with a path beside the waterfalls near the centre of Dublin. Very pretty in the autumn colours.

Who knew this hidden delight was in the heart of Dublin? Once you enter on the path, you will feel like you are in another world. Beautiful ravine views and water. Bring a camera for great shots.

By Carol H |

Mostly safe terrain. Parts are a little narrow. Very beautiful and makes for a worth while afternoon.

By gayle164 |

Beautiful park. Waterfalls are great when it rained the day before. Shady hike. Dogs loved it. Walking path is not paved.

By indyhug111 |

The falls are beautiful, not a hard hike at all, very picturesque. Note, there are 2 areas with falls, hike farther and see the bigger falls.

By 2toots |

a hidden gem...so enjoy! A great way to spend some time discovering and getting some good exercise! Hotel and locals are readily there to point you int he right direction of the falls!

By DLS604 |

Very enjoyable easy walk mostly in woods with several overlook opportunities of falls. A couple areas where steps are present. If it has recently rained significantly, may be muddy.

By Jamie B |

Nice Leisure walk with great view of the stream / falls.
Defiantly a Oasis in the City of Dublin . . . several Picnic table for a lunch / dinner in the ruff.
Nicely Kept up by the City Of Dublin.
And it is all FREE !

There is a trail apparently that wraps around the water. But there are no clear instructions that tell you which way to go to see the waterfall though. We went one way and stumbled upon a look out and could see the waterfall from the side sort of. We saw a bridge down further and we get there and its closed off. It was all a little confusing and we never did see a great view of the falls. It was a pretty area though. They did have some picnic areas that were nice to.

First of all,let me clarify review from tuttlesj. My mother has been in a wheelchair fro the last ten years after being hit head on by a drunk driver, so I am always conscious of accessibility at places I visit and realize that varies by site and type and degree of disability. I have struggled to push the chair on trails in state and national parks that are designated accessible and taken the chair on trails where that is not encouraged without any trouble (Clingman's Dome, Smoky Mts). Having said that, let me say the south rim of the gorge has steps and bridges and IS NOT stroller or wheelchair accessible. Instead, park by the post office. There are two overlooks and a picnic shelter on the north side which are accessible. The paths are dirt but with no barriers. The picnic shelter is on a flat concrete pad and the second observation deck has a wooden ramp with rails so if you have family or friends with impaired mobility do not hesitate to go here and have good time as long as you stay on the north. Lots of shopping, dining and other attractions nearby.

I’m a lover of waterfalls and nature. If you find joy in these things then you need to go here now! It’s a fun and easy hike. It’s not crowded and easy to park. And it’s beautiful! The views, the exploring, the smells and the sounds will please all of your senses.

We were in the area and took a walk on the various trails. It is a nice place to take a walk or walk your dog. The area seemed to be a nice/safe area. While we were walking the trails a bicycle policeman drove through the trails. There is a path that led from the parking lot. There is a trail on each side of the gorge. It was an easy walk and on the parking lot side of the gorge there is a better view of the various falls. You can walk down to the stream and get close to the falls but there is a loose dirt/rock trail to the water. There are a few sets of stairs on the trail so it would not be a trail to ride bicycles on. Worth spending an hour. Also several picnic shelters and benches along the trail.

Indian Run Falls is a unique site in Dublin, Ohio due to its pristine waterfalls and streams that were once called home by the Wyandot tribe. The modern city has provided access to the Indian Run gorge and waterfall areas by creating public trails, observation platforms, and a bridge traversing the waterfalls and shelter houses. Please be advised that this park is not stroll or wheelchair accessible because of the large amount of stairs. The actual waterfalls themselves are not accessible from below unless one climbs down a steep cliff face. No restrooms on site.

Awesome waterfalls. We enjoyed walking the trail and seeing the nature spots. Highly rec if you are in the area.

Indian Run Falls is a gorge hiking trail with a small waterfall and some cascading water in a couple of areas. It is located right in the middle of a built up urban area. You walk a short distance from the parking lot and suddenly you're in a wilderness like environment. Pretty cool! The gorge gets pretty deep and wide in places so I can see why they built around it rather than trying to fill it in. It's a pleasant surprise.

Never even knew that this place was here! Neat little hikes and falls! Although the placed signs strictly prohibit swimming and diving/jumping, many young adults still do so. Usually it's about 5 feet deep and very rocky at the bottom. Do not recommend jumping if you are a cliff jumper and an adrenaline seeker. Although u can do it safely, the fall is not that high, its really not even a thrill and not worth the potential injuries.

By Hjremlinger |

Whether you just want to hike, or play in the water, these falls are the bomb!

Lots of short falls which you can easily walk through and more challenging taller falls further down.

Have to be able to climb down a steep slope if you want to swim below the larger fall.

Don't be fooled there are no real signs pointing to the falls park entrance, and it feel as if your entering an industrial park. So use trip advisor and the map feature to assist.

By John L |

There is a trail around the creek that flows into the falls. However, I could not see the falls from the trail. Recommend staying on the trails to avoid slipping as the rocks can be slippery. In the summer and fall the area is really pretty and serene. There are two main entrances; one is from the Post Office parking lot off Bridge Street and the other is from the parking lot behind Sells Middle School.

I like Dublin! I like it a lot and one of the positives are the parks in the city. Walking through the Indial Run falls' trail is a fantastic experience. The city does a great job keeping the place clean and safe.

We had a great time visiting Indian Run Falls! We definitely recommend going with the entire family!

By RLane_11 |

There's a well-maintained trail with viewing platforms that allow safe views of the gorge and waterfall. A walk in early spring will be rewarded by a good variety of wildflowers [it's too shady for much bloom after trees leaf out]. Waterfall is pretty impressive after a heavy rain, and paths aren't too muddy. Easy access from Shawan Falls Drive [look for signs to main post office] or from an entrance just North of the library near the pioneer cemetery. There's a recreated pioneer cabin by the Shawan Falls parking lot, and surrounding land has been planted with native plants--very colorful in summer.

Tips: Due to elevation changes, the trail isn't really stroller or wheelchair accessible. The best entrance under those circumstances would be the one near the library, but you won't be able to go the entire way, due to steps. Also, although there are guard rails, there are a few spots that might tempt an adventurous child to step off the trail, so keep an eye out--a fall would be fatal.

It's a nice place to visit. Walking near river with lot of trees.
Pleasant place to relax for 2 to 3 hours.

Hidden gem in the heart of downtown Dublin! Beautiful walk along a stream deep in a ravine. Easy walk with some stairs, bridges and overlooks. Great family walk after a. Visit to Jeni's!

We just moved to Columbus in August, and were blown away by the number of places to be active outdoors right here in the city. This is definitely one of those spots that it's tough to believe it tucked away right in the middle of everything. Ohio truly is beautiful!

As another reviewer mentioned, this does remind me a bit of Cedar Falls in Hocking Hills. It's super easy to access (parking lot shared with the library) and it's a rather simple walk compared to other places we've hiked in Ohio. The path is generally quite level, and there aren't places where you've got to worry about climbing up or over trees/roots/rocks etc. from what I recall.

The waterfall is really pretty, and it forms a really cool swimming hole (though I don't think they want people swimming in it - not sure if there are signs against that or not). There's also a pretty bridge that crosses the water. All in all it didn't take long to walk the entire length of the trail to reach the observation decks.

I wouldn't really even call it a hike in my opinion - more so a trail. On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being a really rugged hike, 1 being a sidewalk), this probably comes in at a 1.5 for the average person. It's definitely dog friendly. I can't recall if it would be good for strollers (I think there were a few steps) but I think this would be good for the entire family.

This was an amazing trail which includes old log schoolhouse, free parking, maintained trails and overlooks. Visited on a cold wet day. It was still terrific. Do not wear slick shoes or attempt to get in the water without ropes training. This is such a nice find with rapids and small falls.

By Sarah Sue |

I bring my niece here quite a bit and it's lovely. We sit by the big falls on the rocks and then upstream I let her play in the water. If you have kids, I totally recommend bringing them here when the weather is nice.

By RDCII |

This actually a gem tucked away in downtown Dublin. We visit the island of Kauai throughout the year, and there motto is "Keep it Kauai it". This deserves the same level of respect, enjoy it and leave nothing but foot prints!

By Amy B |

You could spend a day here with kids young or old, or adults. Nice spot to picnic, falls are easy to maneuver, we loved it.

By drwn |

Wow, just wow. I want to go back when the spring rains come. I love waterfall hunting. So my wife and I were this on a map and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. We just sat and enjoyed the beauty of watching the water go by and cascade down the stream. We will be back.

By Gypsy Jo |

Great little nature walk, pretty steam to follow along with nice bridges. Love how it kicks you out onto old town Dublin.

By kjhb78 |

Nice, pretty hike for any level. We were lucky to be there when the water level was high, so the waterfalls were awesome to see. Parking lot is small but had no trouble finding a space.

By tribuckblessed |

This is just a beautiful place to see and walk on all the paths overlooking the huge ravine. The falls are quite amazing for being in the heart of Dublin. It's like a well-kept secret!! Kind of hope it stays that way so it doesn't get too crowded. But it deserves a praising review!

By Ashish_Makhija |

Once you are inside, it seems you are in a jungle. The place is nice to spend 2 hours. Walk casually and you will enjoy the nature. The water flows silently.

By Kate P |

Spent about 2 hours wandering in the Indian Run Falls - there are paths, if it's not wet, that you can wander alongside the falls and river. It had rained and so the river and the falls were crazy!!!! and it was gorgeous. So many different kinds of old old trees, animals, a great walkway with places to stop and look onto the river and falls. Really worth it...!

By WL L |

What a hidden gem! We were walking in Dublin, waiting to meet up with some feiends, when we ran across the renovated yet still old cemetary. It was an amazing feeling walking around and looking at the beautiful old stones, most of which were children. There is so much history in one little square of the city that is beautiful and untouched! The Falls themselves were simply beautiful. The paths are all nice, clean and well marked. Several areas where you can stop and overlook the river/falls area. We walked up the river (it was dry), taking in all the beauty. There were several buckeye trees that had dropped nuts, which was a cool little souveneir! Its a very pretty, serene place to walk or just relax and be one with nature. It'd be a perfect spot for senior pictures or a photo shoot!

By MayurHiremath |

We always love to be in the nature, and this place is so near that we could even go on weekdays after office.
It has around a mile of walking trail in the woods which gives feeling as if you are in the nature in middle of growing city. Trail is easy and anyone can go however, it is not accessible.
Nicely tucked between I270, 33 and scioto river. It has few picnic tables for family outing or bring your hammocks to sleep while swinging in the nature. However, please do not hang it across the water let others enjoy the view as well.
Spring time or after rain would be best if you want to see actual water falls, summer time would be perfect if you want to get into water (not sure if that is allowed). It has Sufficient parking for weekday visit.

By Michael D |

This is a wonderful time to visit this since both are very active waterfalls due to record rainfall during the past six months since 1991. Also very colorful Cavern underground located nearby both locations.

By SJC928 |

If you have 30 minutes or an hour nearby, stop by this unusual trail to enjoy the beautiful woods, waterfalls and deep ravine along the creek. The view of waterfalls is magnificent after heavy rain or snowstorm.

By flintjarvis |

To really understand what makes the location of these waterfalls special... you need to look at the map. Zoom out a little and see how close these falls are to the center of town and the surrounding suburban sprawl. Once you get out of your car (or take a ten minute walk from downtown Dublin, Ohio), you will feel like you've been transported into the scenic beauty you would only find in a park far from the city. The ravine and the sounds of the waterfalls plus the old-growth woods completely transform your experience.

This IS a natural setting and hiking shoes or boots are strongly advised (especially if the ground is wet and muddy). There are several overlook decks with benches but they are placed in settings that don't ruin the natural character of the area.

There are two picnic structures near the falls (to the West) where you can bring your lunch. I know that if I lived and worked in Dublin, I'd be taking my lunch break here... especially since there is a Kroger grocery store, McDonald's, Pizza Hut carry-out and Subway sandwich shop less than three city blocks away to the South (again... go to google maps and see for yourself).

Be polite and a good visitor and make sure you don't leave any trash behind.

This was a nice and easy little walk for our group. A very pretty little hidden gem that we just happened upon. There are a couple of falls. I recommend going further down the trail. We did not and apparently missed out one some of the even prettier falls.

By Christina B |

A nice short easy walk to see the Falls. We did walk on both sides as it offers different views. One walkway was closed as it was being repaired. It did not prevent us from seeing the Falls. It was beautiful day for a short hike.

By LoriLynn4 |

We hike these falls every season and more just to enjoy. Located behind the Dublin Library in the heart of Dublin, OH. It's just a short easy 15-20 minute hike to the falls and then you can walk around them. The terrain makes it easy to get to and there are a few vantage overlooks to stop and enjoy. Many families schedule photo sessions here in the fall.

By Chris L |

This is a great really short hike. A place to get away without going far. Lots of teenagers roaming around though.

By P J Avery |

It amazes me that this place is smack in the middle of a major city. When walking the trails, definitely feels like you are in the back country.
There are two short trails on either side with paths leading down underneath the first bridge that can give you an excellent view of one of the falls up close. There are several observation decks to view the falls from above.
Good place to hike for a hour. Trails are easy enough for even young children. My 3 year old enjoyed the trails.
Would like to see more information about the two old structures by one of the entrances.
Will definitely be back. Would like to see the grounds as the leaves change color.

Beautiful in the summer when the water is flowing. The sound of the water is soothing. This place is hidden and difficult to find but well worth it.

By Tim and Mary An... T |

Tucked in behind the main street in Dublin is this hidden gem. Take a few minutes to walk the trail; it's so worth it!

By Caitlin B |

This is a short walk - easy to do. Nothing strenuous here. If it's been very dry don't expect to see much with the "falls," but after any kind of rain they're usually flowing pretty well. There is a parking lot at the entrance and it doesn't take long to walk to the falls through the woods. It's usually nice and cool in the shade, especially when the water is really going! No bathroom so plan ahead!

By Ohiomitch |

A few hundred yards off the highway, and near the school this place is a wonderful place to take photographs and for the kids to experience waterfalls by walking in the water. The older kids jump off a 15 foot waterfall into a deep pool beneath.

By Vijaykrishna R |

the Indian river falls is a must see in dublin downtown. On one side is the beautiful war memorial and a serene looking cemetary and then you walk into this little trail filled with tall trees. While the trail itself isnt very long, it takes you along the banks of running water, which leads to a cool waterfall. There are several look out points It really is a veritable oasis, with all the foilage and chirping of birds !

By travelfreak31 |

Took the hiuke just a few blocks from downtown Dublin and it was like entering a different world. Wooded and gorgeous, the trail along the falls seems minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Dublin. A great way to relax and meditate.

By 3commonpeople |

Put this on your "got to" list. especially in the summer. We went in February (a little cool, but nice).

By TDNeumann |

Indian Run Falls offers the visitor easy access to some of the prettiest nature scenery in the area, and it's also right in the backyard of some of Dublin's nicest restaurants and retail establishments. Complete with trails and waterfall, it is one of the favorite cool down spots for our young dog.

By zerns |

Yes, it's much better after a rain when you can see some moving water during the hike but even when it's dry it's a nice walk through the woods. You can stop at overlooks or even explore down in the water (there are steps to help). Enjoy!

By Barbara J |

Very relaxing atmosphere. Good way to relax and appreciate the natural impact of nature.Close to the city but in a world of its own. Good place to take kids to slow down from the fast pace of city living.

By 504gregoryh |

It's a lovely walk in nature with several constructed sight seeing perches along a well worn pebbled path. Depending on the weather, you might see water falls. If you are going with young children, be sure to hold their hand, because there are cliffs along the path.

By Manu B |

Beautiful falls. Not too big to explore. Takes an hour to roam around. Very scenic. Must go place for everyone.

By Hans Axel |

If you're in the area of Dublin, OH and need a short break from concrete and asphalt, then Indian Run Falls gives you a is a nice walk. It should just be larger.

By Jeffrey M |

Very enjoyable walk. Scenic area. Low water due to drought so will return in more wet time. Enough of a walk to enjoy but not too challenging.
