This place has great restaurants and attractions for all ages. New age technology surround by history as well. Place has some dark areas with limited lighting at dark but is heavily patrolled by cops of foot.

Inner harbor seems to be the place to be when in Baltimore. There was alot to do there. From visiting old ships to an aquarium to restaurants and bars we had a good time here.

The Brutalist architecture is truly jarring and makes the harbor feel dated and ugly. The water is filthy and the streets are filled with aggressive teenagers who try to squeegee your windows and cuss you out if you don't pay them enough. This place is a hellscape. Baltimore needs to get its house in order.

Not sure what happened to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. It's not what it used to be! It's a dump!!!! Ther are only a handful of shops and one restaurant left in the pavilions. It's HORRIBLE! There is a cute little area next to the pavilions, but it is way over priced! Don't waste your time in the Inner Harbor! Go to Fells Point instead! Or any place else .

Walking the Inner Harbor, especially at night, is beautiful. A must when visiting the city. There are lots of restaurants and places to drink or even get ice cream.

By kathymaf |

Many many many restaurants offering wide variety of foods. Personally we didn’t find many boutiques (which we prefer) but more name brand shopping (which we don’t enjoy). We enjoyed the historic ships docked there.

By MichelleC |

So there are many shops, restaurants, museums, and things to do all within the Inner Harbor. Not to mention the views at night are breathtaking.

By imarmarmar2014 |

the inner harbor is scenic and filled with a lot of stuff to do. there is: ripleys believe it or not, a varity of boat tours, the national aquarium, and many delicious places to dine. just walking around entertaining and even the police officers were fun. the hotel shuttle dropped us off at the inner harbor, and we caught the purple line circulator to the walters museum, the washington monument, and the basilica

By marylouv |

If you love walking with views of water and boat activity, the inner harbor offers lots of open walking areas and places to visit. We had great weather which added to our walking enjoyment. Lots to do for all ages. We walked from Federal Hill around the harbor to Fells point. Safe to walk during the day and through the evening.

Baltimore Inner Harbor was one of my favorite places to visit. It is now an absolute cesspool. You are taking your life into your own hands!!!! Don't even consider a visit with children!!!!

By Vacationer824274 |

Loved the aquarium! Be sure not to miss the4D theater productions
The science museum is also nice.

Don't go thinking that the harbor place shops will add to the enjoyment ,That whole area was almost a "ghost town"! Two floors of vacant shops with only a dress shop and an icecream shop
open.
There are 2 other business strips, mostly restaurants. My husband and I chose Phillips and wished we hadn't!!! Food was WAY over priced for the quality and amount. Might try the Cheesecake Factory next time.

Amazing place! Everyone was so nice, cheerful and helpful!
Stayed at the Hyatt Regency and they are over the top in all areas, rooms are comfy and clean. Super nice and helpful, never been treated as well as they treated us. Only regret is that we didn't stay longer, was truly an amazing hotel and staff!

Can't wait to go back!

At one time, probably in the 1990s the area was probably nice. It was many empty store fronts and chain restaurants. The National Aquarium and a Science Museum were nearby. There was also a welcome center, but is was never open when I was there. There area needs an update and renewal.

By sharonlisa |

Wow, really nice area. Definitely worth walking around, shopping, eating, checking out museums, etc... We were there on a Friday morning. Most stuff opens around 11am.

By 2Teachers2Dogs |

We walked around this area each evening after eating. Well-lit, and lots of security. Cute shops, great restaurants, and fun ice-skating rink.

By Justin B |

Not much more to say aside from reviews you have read. Bars, shopping, walking and resting. Great area, I wouldn’t miss.

It makes for a good spot to put a ring on it too!

By Lia H |

The harbour is really pretty, great scenes, just lovely. We walked around a bit, but at some point we didnt feel so safe and the smell of subtances was just too much!

By Roses |

The dragon boats are cool. Water taxis are available here too. This is a spacious pretty area, whether it is night or day - didn’t feel unsafe.

By 99gman12 |

Beautiful setting on the inner harbor. Sightseeing overload, love it! A true Foodie destination! Crab heaven!

By adventix |

A very nice area on the water. Seem to be safe, at least during the day. Lot's of food, art and attractions. You should walk to Federal hill for a nice view of the inner harbor. Plan to spend at least 1-2 hours here.

This was my first visit to the Inner Harbor after many years visiting family in the area and we really loved it. Parking was easy at the lot near the Rusty Scupper ($9 with their validation) and we enjoyed just getting out and walking around on a beautiful day with plenty of other folks (of all colors and ages) also out enjoying themselves. We probably took the longest way possible from there to the American Visionary Art Museum (around the Ritz Carlton Residences) but it was a beautiful walk along the waterfront. The AVAM is incredible, a lot of fun and very moving at the same time--a great place to spend two or three hours (plus more in their highly entertaining Sideshow shop). We had a couple of hours before our late lunch/early dinner reservation at 5:00 so we spent them poking around in the Maryland Science Center exhibits and at a presentation in their planetarium. (Admission was $24.95 for seniors but if we lived in the area and were bringing kids often we'd definitely save by buying a membership.) Dinner at the Rusty Scupper, which was also busy, was great, as we savored our crab cakes and sauvignon blanc while watching a thunderstorm sweep across the harbor.

If you're like me reading these wildly varying reviews while trying to decide whether to go or not, all I can say is that it was safe, busy, and beautiful for us. (There was one probably unhoused man who seemed to have spent the day sitting quietly on a bench gazing at the water but I wish him well--and a sensible housing policy.) Now, admittedly, we arrived around noon and were driving off to our hotel (the Courtyard in the Harbor East/Little Italy area, also nice) before it was really late, but there it is.

We'll definitely be back--haven't yet taken a cruise, seen the aquarium (!), toured the historic ships, etc., etc. We were only scratching the surface on this trip, but a Sunday afternoon at the Inner Harbor (and a trip the next day to Fort McHenry) was a great introduction.

Baltimore Inner Harbor used to be my favorite place to visit. It has become the epitome of today's politics. Unprotected uncleaned, most of the restaurants not open, the restaurants and shops that are opened could care less about your business. Stay away till they clean this mess up.

By Erin G |

We went to bubba Gump for dinner. Observed some naval ships that were docked. Walked around sight seeing and it was a friendly vibe. Clean. People seem happy

By Bhushan Timla |

Inner Harbor was America's oldest seaports, now an important landmark and popular tourist destination. Activities available from museums, stores, restaurants, entertainment venues and boating fun in the water for the kids, or take them to the National Aquarium.
Historic ships (an American Civil War-era naval vessel) and submarine were also on exhibition display for the visitors

By Cyn |

We decided on a road trip and ended up here - good choice! Light shopping, a nice visit to the Museum. Walking distance to almost everything. Will be back to see more, do more, review more.

By JJMcG |

Very nice place with some good nautical attractions and restaurants. It has a great atmosphere which the down site is it can be very busy.

By Joyce A |

The Inner Harbor of Baltimore is an interesting area that has lots of things to do. The National Aquarium is located there, you can walk around to look at all the different buildings and boats, there are playgrounds with weekend activities for the whole family, and plenty of wonderful restaurants. There are paddle boats, cruises, and historical ships to visit. You can get public or private transportation to Camden Yards for a baseball game or out to Fort McHenry and learn its place in history. It's adjacent to Little Italy, full of fine restaurants, and Fell's Point, the most haunted place in Baltimore. There are nearby museums, parks, and recreation areas. In all, it's a great hub for planning a trip to Baltimore.

By lizannehs82 |

The shops are gone. I heard that the Harbor Shops are in receivership aka bankruptcy. So sad to see. Go to Fells point in stead for good restaurants and shopping.

By CrabbieConnie |

Stayed at the Renaissance hotel for New Year’s Eve. My husband purchased water front/Inner harbor view(more money)! Ordered microwave early on so we would have one in our room which of course is a extra fee and didn’t get until after 7 checking in is at 4pm and it was damn near 7 when we got into our rooms. They where definitely not prepared for the amount of people checking in for the night. You would have thought they would have extended everyone’s stay and additional hour considering how much time we stood in line and the cost to stay for one night. Room has cheap towels and wash cloths no tissues in room and limited cosmetics such as lotion in room things that usually come standard in a 4 star hotel. View was nice and good location.

By sandywilltravel |

We enjoyed our time at the inner harbor but they need to bring in more stores and some local restaurants, they are all chains.

By Charles P |

Beautiful area for family and kids. There were a lot of restaurants, activities and shops for souvenirs. The lights in the evening were stunning and the city skylights were remarkable. The skate park was awesome for all.

By Kevin W |

First time in town in over 15 years. Greatly improved and expanded. Makes Baltimore more competitive with other large cities as a getaway destination and is now actually nicer then most. Stayed only two blocks away at Staybridge Suites in downtown and consider this a safe area.

By Larry |

Inner Harbor is a great place to visit, I have been visiting this area for decades and always discovering something new.

By B-jTP |

Often unpublished and ever surprising is the entertainment found at the Inner Harbor: Sometimes it's regae; at other times it might be chamber music but the Inner Harbor entertainment is always surprising. You just have to be at the right place at the right time to enjoy these "popup shows". Then too, if there's no performance, you can always go to one of the many mall venues and browse or eat in one of the fine restaurants.

By kytraveler |

My first thought was to score this as a two but I opted for a more general scoring as the good outweighed the bad. The good - bench seating scattered throughout, cleanliness, the historic ships with their educational placards, boats in the inner harbor, various stores to explore. The bad - school trip children left to their own devices. We watched several young boys on scooters run into families.

By Mark C |

So many things to see..Need to come back again.
Visited National Aquarium huge Barnes and Noble, coming back for Ripleys museum and Chesapeake boat tour and more.

By JKM007JKM |

Beautiful spring day lots to do and sea in the inner harbour. Submarine USS constellation lots of shops and restaurants. Very nice

By bigoaktree12 |

We were down here for an Orioles game and took a quick walk the the inner harbor. We grew up in the Baltimore area and visit here often. It's always a good visit except for on this visit we saw a lot of homeless people. Overall fun good walk with the family. Lots to do down here!

By Mike B |

I wondered why the Inner Harbor was so different than what I remembered from several years ago. I bit tired looking, more vagrants and a lack of the professional type of people that used to walk along the street. Then it dawned on me. COVID. With most professionals working remotely, there weren’t a lot of the normal office folks eating lunch or walking along the water on their lunch break.

Vacant storefronts and a bit tired looking. Chain restaurants. Better to walk over to Federal Hill or Little Italy for a meal.

Best part of the visit was the National Aquarium. Truly an excellent attraction.

By Snoopspaw |

Just looking around this Harbor was so fun for me. My grandson and I would have come to Baltimore just to walk around the Harbor just to see everything you can see but take your time or you might miss something.z

By ChuckS144 |

This part of town is kept clean and safe. The view is nice. there are lots of shops and restaurants. Water Ferry's and take you to different piers. It's a nice day out.

By Tigeriffic69 |

This is a lovely part of Baltimore, and I can see why. I was probably not there at the right season for the boats going out, as I did not see any in use. There are lots of places to sit, and chill, and watch the world go by.

By PAJAY |

This used to be a great escape for a weekday. We arrived today, did the aquarium with plans to visit some of the shops - they’re gone! 95% of the stores are vacant. Such a disappointment, glad we are only here for 1 night.

By Maureen M |

If you plan to travel to Baltimore inner harbor - change your plans fast. We went one night and we realize with covid a lot is closed but still it was desolate and tons of homeless people asking for money. A couple approaching everyone telling a long tale why they need money. We did not feel safe and could not wait to leave. We saw one policeman that had pulled someone over that was it.

By FabGlobetrotter03 |

Visited while on a trip with friends. we went net to eat at one of the Seafood restaurants, and walked around the harbor after the meal, then had ice cream as we strolled around. It was idyllic. The Harbor looks much better than when I visited last about ten years ago. It is clean, well maintained and has so many more restaurants and stores.

By Claire H |

Beautiful views and lots to walk around and see. A variety of activities including the National Aquarium and of course tours of historical boats. There are a variety of restaurants to grab a snack and a huge Barnes and Noble. Of course the view is enough to stop by.

By ME |

Very sad to see the Inner harbor in its condition today compared to several years ago. Now the weather was poor so if it was nice we could have ice skated, or if it was in the summer we possibly could ride the paddle boats. But as far as the stores that use to be all along the harbor. There is nothing left. I suppose covid and all the riots they had here did them in. There were only a 2 stores opened. I did not get to the aquarium. They are still there so I cannot comment on that, but the harbor stores most are closed down. Signs every where do not smoke cannibis by order of the government. But that was the first thing I smelled when I walked into the opened decrepit mall that had only one store opened. Very sad.

By stratcat45 |

The inner harbor is gorgeous and makes for a nice walk. I had been there 20 years ago and was rather disappointed that the gallery is 90% empty. I find it hard to believe that no businesses want to be in there considering the amount of people that were walking around. The aquarium, science museum and ships are all within this area; so it's worth a trip though I'm not sure you can make a whole day out of it.

By kingj24 |

Enjoyed very much, clean area and lots to do. Nice restaurants with bars and lots of nice shops. Everything close not much walking.

By oldkitchentable |

Sorry to say, this is no longer a place to bring family, or anyone for that matter. If you go further around the harbor or up into Little Italy things are a little safer, but the weekend Inner Harbor is nasty and dangerous.
We stayed at a fairly expensive Marriott property directly across from the Harbor mall and small boats.. while the hotel rooms were clean and just fine, the entrance area where one might wait for an UBER, was scary. Security didn't seem to care. Non hotel guests filled the seats with loud offensive music, smoking in a non smoking area. The walk to and from restaurants on Friday and Saturday was terrible. At one point, 1 block from the hotel, we found ourselves trying to cross at a crosswalk in the midst of a gang sort of shoutdown that was escalating into shouts of fight. Police arrived quickly, but we couldn't get out of there quickly enough. The people sitting on the street curbs, the trash, the language, the open petty drug use and selling, the arguing, yelling...it's become a true ghetto.
I've traveled the world and the country, born and raised in NY and NEVER experienced the ugliness and danger of this area.
We turned on the news this am to hear the local prosecutor will no longer prosecute petty theft, small crimes, drug crimes or prostitution. That was an obvious explanation for what we experienced on the streets of the Inner Harbor.
Due to COVID, most of the shops in this area are closed and vacant.
Did I mention the trash in the streets? Unbelievable.
And then, there are the scooters and cyclists. Walking on the overvcrowded sidewalks is a risky prospect as groups of young people fly through pedistrians tipped up on one wheel. Rental scooters scream on sidewalks and roadways alike with riders literally throwing them down when the ride is over.
Cars, windows down, music cranked up tear through intersections, making crossing a seriously dangerous challenge.
What has this little tourist area come to? Nothing good.
It's not the place it once was and the REAL crime is that both the children's museam and aquariam are right here. I wouldn't bring my children, or a school group here. No possible way.
Please be aware, my comments are limited to the immediate Inner Harbor area, with about 5 blocks up toward Hard Rock. Other areas are great.

By cgperini |

More tourist area of Baltimore, with the aquarium and other attractions. It's a beautiful place. It is worth walking around, especially in December with the Christmas fair.

By Scooter P |

First time visitor here. Center of town around this area. Camden yards within walking distance. Parking in the area is very expensive but I guess that to be expected for the area. Several places to eat in the but are very expensive. Loved the World Trade Center exhibit, outdoor ice rink and location.

By Ntrekker |

We were in Baltimore for a Convention and we chose a hotel within walking distance of the inner harbor. Lots of things to do. The National aquarium is here as well as historic ships and lots of restaurants. Ubers are plentiful in case one wants to explore other Baltimore neighborhoods.

By Ricky M |

I’m sure there’s more to do later but at midday, not a lot of people around & parts of the harbor had quite a bit of trash that needed cleaning up.
Restaurants were nice...but is a tad pricey for parking.
Along the harbor though was a nice place for a little stroll along the water. Traffic at spots was rough but overall not horrible.

By Kristen W |

Wonderful hospitality. During my check-in, Christina, handled a sensitive situation with grace, kindness, and professionalism. Soon after, Deneil, saw that I looked confused and proactively offered me directions and some local advice.

I came for a conference. The food was good. Great service staff.

The only downside is road noise. If you are a light sleeper, I recommend asking for a room on the West side of the building.

By Mario S |

Inner Harbor is a centerpiece on Baltimore's attraction. As well as a relaxing and beautiful place. Take some time to be there. USS Constelattion and the Historical Shipps are just there to be visited. So are the National Aquarium and the Maryland Science Center. Severeal other atracttios are close to the Inner Harbor.

By Hosea G |

We had a great time at the harbor. During September it was not busy and the weather was great. Plenty of places to eat at and shop. If you want good ice cream find Sugar you will not be disappointed. Ripley's have a nice deck for taking good pictures. If you go you will not be disappointed.

Happy New Year!🎈🎊

As I suspected, this area of Fell’s Point in Baltimore ended up being an excellent choice for fireworks celebrations on New Year’s Eve.

The only downside is that it will put a dent in your wallet. Most bars serve a cheap beer and it will set you back $15-$20. What ever happened to the $2 beer? Haha!

By dambanker |

Came down early before the crowds, it was peaceful and nice to see this way. Enjoyed watching some the of local walkers wave to the mayor statue. Had my pre-teen kids with me the last time I was here and they really enjoyed it, so it was also a bit of a walk down memory lane for me too. The old ships, submarine, and aquarium top the list. Lots of places to eat and hang out at too.

Great place to walk around. There's lots to do and see, even if you have kids with you.

By CaptMancuso |

Developing seaports and harbors as tourist attractions is a formula followed by many maritime communities. The Inner Harbor of Baltimore is certainly one of those places.
The overall area was clean, attractive and safe. Despite the overall positive experience, the area needs some commercial improvement. While there are some restaurants and pubs around the perimeter of the inner harbor, there clearly could be more. In fact, there were more in the past. There are many unoccupied commercial properties in the area. These are clean and well maintained but otherwise empty storefronts. This is a missed opportunity. The few restaurants that are open have a near monopoly and this is bad for the tourists.
The area is very quiet before 10:00 am and most of the attractions and businesses are closed. The visitor’s center doesn’t open until 10:00am and is closed on Mondays. We also found the Museum of Industry is closed on Mondays.
The historic ships (4 in total) are worth visiting but probably not well suited for small children or people with mobility difficulties. They also open at 10. The price per adult is $22 and considering the amount you get to see; both above and below decks, it is well worth the expense if you are interested in that history. Plan for at least 2.5 hours if you intend to visit all 4 ships and that’s 30 minutes per ship plus some walking in between, You could certainly spend more time if you wanted to focus on one ship. Good shoes are a must in general around the inner harbor, as there is a need for lots of walking.
There is very little shade available, so if it’s sunny, sunscreen, sunglasses and a good hat are recommended. My advice is always to carry as little gear as possible. I frequently see people wagging lots of extraneous gear with them all day and they look miserable. You’re not camping, and there are far better places to shop.
We did the 1-hour harbor cruise and that was well worth the money. You get to see a lot of the harbor, hear a presentation of local history and just enjoy being on the water. You will go by Fort McHenry, the Domino Sugar plant, the old power station (now Phillips restaurant and Hard Rock Café) and the historic ships. Considering the distance covered without needing to walk and the views you get – it’s a perfect way to take in the maximum amount of the harbor with the least amount of effort. I recommend sitting on the starboard (right) side of the ship so that you get the best views. (the tour goes around the harbor in a counterclockwise pattern).
The city has done a fine job of keeping the area clean. In fact, it is cleaner than many similar city areas. Like any big city there are the typical homeless people, mentally ill people and obvious drug addicts but they are not overly numerous, nor are they aggressive. They are just present here and there, occasionally asking for money. Anyone savvy about functioning in a city will have no problems dealing with these people. There were police officers in the area along with some private security. I don’t think the area is dangerous but like in any city, be cognizant of potential petty theft.
So, you can walk around the inner harbor area and spend nothing. You can pay for some attractions if you wish. You can find some places to eat during the day, but there isn’t a lot of competition so be prepared to spend some money on food and drink. There is fine dining available in the evening within walking distance, but the upper end restaurants will be expensive. The area is relatively safe and clean but…. It’s a city.
We arrived by train and took a cab to a hotel on the inner harbor, so I can’t advise about parking, but parking appears to be plentiful – at a price.
The area is not as compact as it appears, and the layout of the piers and sidewalks make for longer distances than would first impressions suggest. It is by no means huge or difficult to walk around the area but be prepared to walk.

By LaContiss B |

We were looking for something to do and we took the Spirit of Baltimore lunch cruise. The food was great! Customer service was great, also. It was nice seeing all the good things Baltimore has.

By F2104UNmariaj |

We went on the Inner harbor ship tour, BYOB with all of our family members. They had music and a great entertaining staff. We will do it again, that’s how much fun it was.

By Rafi M |

The inner harbor area is very nice and lots of things to do around it. The Pavillions are not what they were years ago with all the shops and restaurants. Now there's some shops and some restaurants. not many. The surrounding area has the aquarium the science museum the power plant the ships so it's got a lot to do

By BackPacker618855 |

I used to go there quite a bit before the pandemic and this is was my first and unfortunately likely my last trip back.

As soon as we got to the light right before the parking garage the car was swarmed with guys asking for money. One guy starts washing my windshield and I told him to stop and leave but he said he'd already finished so I should pay him. When I didn't he just punched my window in disgust and moved to the next car. Not a great start to the visit.

Walking around the harbor itself was disappointing too. A lot of homeless people everywhere...some asking for money, some wandering aimlessly and spouting obscenities. And no police presence at all to speak of. In fairness just outside the harbor walking back to the garage I saw some police vehicles but no patrols walking around the harbor itself.

Most of the shopping areas are now vacant except for a couple ice cream places which were pretty good but all in all its a shell of what it was. I feel bad for the aquarium because that always been nice but its just surrounded by a progressively deteriorating area.

Hopefully things improve.

By gvanderlinde |

nice atraction, a lot of things to do and see, a graat variety of places to eat and drink. Vice marine atractions. I recomentd it to enyone that goes to Baltimore.

By Doug from Maryland |

The Baltimore Inner Harbor is a very nice place to visit. There is several different shops and restaurants located there and different things to explore and do.

By Jeanna |

Sad to see so much closed at the Harbor. It is still nice to visit for a stroll and a little shopping

By Joe S |

This was my first time back to the Inner Harbor in about fifteen years. My wife and I used to visit when attending Orioles games and returned this year with our children. What a change. The Harbor Place mall only has about 5 open stores and many other store fronts are closed as well. Still some great places to eat and the aquarium is outstanding but my biggest takeaway was the incredible amount of homeless and "undesirables". Even with a large police and security presence the area is intimidating, especially being with my young family. Many of the beggars we encountered were extremely aggressive and the atmosphere was a bit scary. The few decent attractions were far outweighed by the threatening feeling we had. This place was awesome years ago and I looked forward to coming back but unfortunately I cannot ever see going back in the future. Shame on Baltimore.

By Anthony P |

Tons of eating places, and other entertainment options throughout the area. Rent a paddle boat and pretend to be a pirate, take a tour with or without dinner, see a world class aquarium, or, if your not sure what to do - go check out the visitor center!

By willhh |

Lots of great restaurants and other attractions in a relatively safe environment. Fireworks were fun on July 4.

By tomamoses |

It was very warm in Baltimore for the show, 98deg & humid, so a walk around the Inner Harbour each evening to clear away the day’s work routine to clear the mind, was very welcome and surprisingly energising despite the heat. Lots of places to stop & view the harbour and admire the many runners who were out despite the heat.
And then back later for a fish supper.

By hofcoach |

Girls got to ride the electric scooters. We went on a sight seeing boat. The Aquarium. Shops to go in. Historic ships to go in. Rita’s Italian ice to end the day. Always a great time at inner harbor. We will be back

By bob a |

Baltimore’s inner harbor is a really nice and clean. Plenty to do and see. Beware the water taxi $32 for all day pass, there were two of us so don’t know if they charge everyone $16 each if you have a bunch of kids or adults it could be very expensive. All we did was go to a restaurant for lunch and back. But the harbor has a lot to do, scooters everywhere to use if you don’t want to walk. Lots of attractions

By Andrea R |

INTERESTING PLACE, TO DISCOVER, I RECOMMEND A PASSAGE AND EAT THE CRAB-BASED CUISINE OR GO TO THE CLASSIC HARD ROCK CAFE. TO SLEEP IT IS BETTER TO STAY IN THE AIRPORT AREA, WHICH IS CHEAPER.

By Jimboslice18 |

Great place for photos and to walk around. Aquarium, restaurants, bars located here. Historic ships and lighthouses also!

By Nani R |

It was a bit chilly! but still nice to walk, shop, people watch. have lunch in a near by bench. Snack as you walk.

By momof4boys2016 |

Having never visited Baltimore before, my first impression was how beautiful this area is on the water. Yachts are moored in the bay. Historic ships are docked at the piers so you can enjoy them without having to tour them. There were so many intriguing restaurants, stores, and other sights. You can stroll along the water and it seemed like a safe area.

By terri20172018 |

Quite a few things to do in this area. Seemed pretty safe. Several places to eat while in the area. I love lighthouses and there is one in the Inner Harbor as well as a Lightship.

By debrah34 |

I was in the area for a week-long conference. I loved going for a walk every afternoon. Easy, safe place to get in some outdoor exercise. I was out no later than 7 pm and it is a very busy place not once did I feel unsafe. There are security or police nearby for any issues. I did have a bit of an issue with a homeless guy but being nice and taking less than 2 mins solved the issue. Just as I had solved the issue a police officer walked up to see that everything was good.

By QuackerzDaTraveler |

The Baltimore Harbor is always the place to visit when visiting Baltimore! Even though I thought the harbor looped a much shorter distance then it actually did, the walk was still enjoyable. Plenty of shops and places to grab something to eat! Last time we visited we had crabs at Philips and it was great! You can rent paddle boats, there’s a cute little park for kids to run off their energy. Plenty of things to see and do!

By Allen P |

Everything was so beautiful and we especially enjoyed the World Trade Center view from the top !!!! we could see where the bridge went down from up there and the harbor Andy shipped to go through were awesome !!!! What was the name of that last place food we ate? Philips is a very good place to eat. We split a plate and still got full.

By GV27OCMD |

We’ve visited the harbor and harbor place in the past but our recent trip was an unpleasant surprise.
Most of the eateries in Harbor place have closed. What was once a tourist and local attraction is now nothing but boarded up empty space - unless of course Hooters is your idea of a night on the town

By morristowndenise |

While attending a conference, I was able to get to the harbor for a short break. It was a beautiful day and I watched the tour boats come in and out, as well as checking out people riding the dragon (paddle) boats. It was relaxing. Fun to people watch too. Some of the shops are vacant which is too bad but still a great place to visit.

By roberg316 |

We visited 6 years ago and had fond memories, so we were looking forward to the day. My review is much like the recent ones. Most of the businesses are closed and the area is rundown. Electric scooters, that can be rented with an app, were laying in piles along the waterfront. There were about 20 scooters, in piles of 3 to 5. A couple half disassembled ebikes, laying by shrubs, where the shops used to be. As we walked, we were verbally threated by a group of young men letting us know that we were not welcome in the area. As we walked, I continued to notice police presence in different areas along the waterfront. There were several people begging for money. One man sitting on a bench, not looking homeless in anyway, shaking a cup with change in it, who welcomed us with a "F#ck you mother f#ckers" as we walked passed and didn't add money to his cup.

We have gone to Baltimore Inner Harbor a few times over the last 15 to 20 years, and generally enjoyed our trips. Our last visit about 4 to 5 years ago was a big disappointment. The place is not very tourist friendly, got the feeling that the employees in various restaurants, attractions, hotels, etc. were not interested in providing friendly tourist services. The crime rate in Baltimore has gone through the roof in the last few years - not a safe place to be in, We will not be going back to Baltimore.

Beautiful view with great shops and good food! Felt safe and enjoyed water taxi!! The harbor is a really great place to stay in Baltimore!!

By Carolyn E |

We enjoyed walking around the whole Inner Harbor area, and luckily, we didn't have any problems or harassment at all. We took a cruise on a Watermark boat, and the crew and captain were all very friendly and helpful. It is sad that businesses have moved out of the harbor, but hopefully, they will move back as safety improves. The Science Museum, Aquarium, Lighthouse, and a great playground are still there and worth seeing.

Here for two nights very nice scenery very friendly people lots to do scooter rides bike rides and shopping stores not no mention plenty of boat rides for site seeing.

There is something about the Inner Harbor in Baltimore that is so inviting. We had the opportunity to view it from a different vantage point. We were visiting friends in the Harbor Court Condos where the views are just stunning. We arrived just as the sun was starting to set that created some very interesting shadows on the buildings around the harbor. It was truly beautiful.

Seems to be in disrepair with very little to do or see partially, due to the pandemic. Not many restaurants were open despite lots of outdoor space. The broad walk itself was clean and offered a decent outdoor walk. A bit uncomfortable with some of the groups gathered there.

By teensytheclown |

This is a well developed neighborhood full of restaurants, shops, museums, aquarium, etc. Plenty to do. Felt safe. My only caveat is all the merchants are national chains. I could go to and or all in Pittsburgh, Orlando, etc. Enjoyed Fells Point and Little Italy more.

By Albert B |

I had not been to the Inner Harbor in years. A number of reviews certainly raise eyebrows, but I found it fun and enjoyable. I went on a very, very hot day and walking along the water was pleasant. The pavilions are much less lively than I remember them (they were great fun) and can be skipped (except for the AC on hot days), but the museums, aquarium and ships remain. There are also water taxis to other spots. A number of reviews mention homeless people. We saw a few (less than a half dozen, maybe due to the heat), but they were just sitting on benches. The vast majority of people were tourists (the Yankees were in town and Aaron Judge t-shirts were everywhere) and locals strolling babies, riding bikes and jogging. One serene moment -- a band and singer were practicing on the other side of the harbor under a tent, with the mellifluous sounds carrying across the water as boats passed. In sum, I'd visit again, choosing a nice day and maybe a weekend or day with an event in town (though this may jack up parking costs) to assure the area is lively and safe (though, again, I felt fine, but recognize I am only one data point).

Nice place to hand around with kids and family to share some moments together.
Not so great parking options, very expensive

By Jeremy K |

We took our kids down to the Inner Harbor to see the historic ships and the aquarium. I was a little worried from some of the reviews, but I thought the Harbor looked great. I have always been a fan and haven't been for a decade, but I thought it looked better than ever. Everyone was friendly. There was a diverse crowd of people everywhere all having a great time it seemed. No one was rude or anything like that. It was just a beautiful fall day in a beautiful spot with lots to do. Parking is easy to get in and out of and it was easy to come into the city and get to. (we live about 2 hours north). We ate at Phillips (a little on the pricey side, but the food was good). We can't wait to go back and check out the children's museum and we have 1 more ship to see. And there are lots of forts close by to visit. We will definitely be back!

By madlikemercury |

The water is nice, but there's not a ton to do here. There's some chain stores (like H&M) and mediocre restaurants (Uno, Hardrock, Cheesecake Factory), but not much otherwise. If you're planning to see the aquarium or go on a boat ride, you can walk the harbor before/after, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it on its own.

By Matt C |

I went thru here a few times over a couple of days. I get it - it’s touristy but it’s clean, well lit and has a ton of cool things to do and see. I was really impressed and would recommend this. I kept hearing about safety issues but I didn’t see anything that was concerning that you don’t see in every city. Must be that the police have this part of town blanketed.

By Dennis B |

Great place to walk around , check out the ships a lot of info at visitor center and security all hours

By Ron |

Together with friends we took a leisure walk along Baltimore's beautiful Inner Harbor on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Stop at the large Visitors Center fro information about the area's many offerings. From dozens of restaurants and specialty shops you can spend several hours exploring. While parking can be a bit of a challenge, its central location makes an excellent base to visit other sites within easy walking distance.

By mombawb |

We spent 3 days at the Inner Harbor with grandkids, ages 2 to 9. It is easier to navigate in and out of the Inner Harbor than any other city area we’ve been to. The area is clean and very tourist friendly. There was so much to see and do.

By Roger |

Balitimore Inner Harbor has lots of homeless people and juvenile who are engrossed in crime. These juveniles assault visitors coming to this place. They are in gangs and assault visitors. The police are of no help. The city has completely changed over past few years. Lots of criminal activities by juveniles in gangs. Businesses are shutting down and very few attractions. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU LOVE YOUR AND YOUR LOVED ONES LIFE. This city feels unwelcomed to visitors. DO NOT GO!!!

Baltimore Renaissance Saturday 6/15/24 - Tuesday 6/18/24 Room 12111
We were with couples that flew in from NC and we drove from the Philadelphia area. Upon arriving at check-in we were advised to take a photo of our license plate it was needed to be on file, so we did. I do not know your end, but it apparently it was not recorded anywhere (we assume)since when we were leaving we needed to return to the hotel because we could not find a location to pay. As we pulled up to the hotel we noticed 2 slips on the windshield (both were fines). I went into hotel and spoke with Raynel and he promptly assisted in the matter, took my info and then he spoke with Noah and the 2 assured me that it would be taken care of.
This is TERRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I know when we checked in there were about 50-75 other people checking in so anything could have happened, this was Fleet week and also a huge baseball weekend and your associates did a terrific job. I was going to suggest clearer parking instructions on the Website, however, upon looking before writing review I see that they have been changed, however, it should be noted that you need your Plate number (not everyone carries their registration), we did need to make a special trip back to the car for ours.
The parking issue aside the stay was very pleasant and relaxing.

By Alex H |

Not what it once was. Most of the shopping is closed, restaurants closed, homeless everywhere. Quite sad really to see what has happened.
We visited to see a baseball game, that part was great but otherwise I would never go back.
Note aquarium is now on a time schedule for tickets, you can not simply walk in so even that being the only other attraction available and we were unable to go.

By John F |

Inner harbor feels very unsafe with my family .. Homeless everywhere sleeping in the benches and ground asking for handouts. Garbage and filth litter the streets and side walks. Strong smells of urine. Not many shops or restaurants open. Not much police presence. There’s a rogue ATV gang that runs around the streets until 3/4 am all night every night. The police do nothing about them. This is all in part due to covid. The filth homelessness and lack of management are all part of the city of Baltimores lack of leadership and management. I will never return to this place ever again. It’s a shell of what it once was. Good job Brandon Scott ! Thanks for the memories!

By Gregory V |

We got to the illustrious inner harbor today.
We had a room for the night as we were attending the Orioles game in the evening.
We got to the inner harbor early in the afternoon and decided to walk around the inner harbor for a bit.
We were surrounded by 8 young males which followed us from our hotel down to the inner harbor where they then dispursed to sell drugs and other things to others around the harbor.
Everything was closed or vacated, outside of hooter.
There were young kids also walking out in the middle of moving traffic pounding on cars like animals.
I've served my country and have been all over the world.
I have never in my while entire life felt my safety was in jeopardy, until I experienced the inner harbor area.

By nancy e |

Nice afternoon activity. Live music, many families, nice place to have a drink and people watch. Very nice Barnes &Nobel with interesting history. Enjoyed and felt safe .

By Diane C |

We were in town for a funeral and decided to spend some time at the inner harbor. Several shops, museums a d the aquarium. There are several boat tour you can go on, and can even rent paddle boats to tour the harbor waterways. Pretty typical tourist area with shops and food places. I did like that they have music piped in through speakers in the bushes.. nice touch.

By john d |

Really enjoyed all the venues of inner harbor during my Baltimore stay. People were the nicest ever. The I love baltimore tour was brilliant. Thorough and entertaining. Best of my stay. IRAs the Man! Heart knowledge and ownership. One of the most engaging tours I've ever had!

By Janette R |

A nice mix of restaurants, shops and attractions on the waterfront. Ate at one of the restaurants which we enjoyed and browsed a few shops on the way to the aquarium. Would recommend spending a couple of hours here.

By Jcd25@ |

There’s still lots of fun to be had in the inner Harbor but many of the neat stores that I enjoyed on previous visits are long gone and the restaurant choices are limited with many chains. If your coming here your probably doing it with a specific destination such as the aquarium or historic ships in mind. Still it’s a nice place to spend a day with good views and people watching.

By Christina L |

We stayed at the Pier One hotel right on the Harbor it’s very pretty here my kids had a great time walking around hearing music the little lighthouse and seeing the ships

By AMNYC1988 |

Due to the current situation almost every place was closed but it is very relaxing and pleasant to stroll through the Inner Harbor to enjoy the sun scenery and ambiance

By 7wonderstraveler |

The Inner Harbor is so fun! It is great for walking, people watching, aerobic classes, food and museums. I prefer to stay around this area when I’m in this city. There is so much to do here and this area exudes a vibrant aura.

By Andres72423 |

Visited Baltimore for the first time and really enjoyed visiting the Inner Harbor area. We visited several museums for our grandkids to enjoy and walking the area was great. They had plenty of sites to see and wonderful restaurants to dine in. I really enjoyed my first visit there and plan on going back again. As we dined and visited several places everyone we spoke to from the area seemed so nice and pleasant.

By Lesley R |

We were here in November, and it was cold. There was a lot of shopping and a few restaurants. Many things were not open. All of the shop clerks were friendly. There is an Irish Pub that I would recommend. They even opened the patio on a sunny day that looked out onto the harbor. My favorite thing was the temporary ice rink they had open for the cold weather. It was very nice and felt safe.

By mlorahga |

Visited the Inner Harbor during the holidays and enjoyed walking through the Christmas Village. It was a wonderful area set up with crafts, and traditional holiday foods.

By Ibrahim T |

We stay long term at the Marriot Waterfront on Alicea and the view is breathtaking. From there, you can reach the entire Inner Harbor and Little Italy.

By A M |

We visited the Inner Harbor when we had a break from classes.
Lots of interesting shops, museums and restaurants. It is worth the visit.

By NorthStarAries6871 |

This was our second trip to the inner harbor and though it is very different post pandemic it is still a great and beautiful place to visit. Like all places it is not without detractors, there is a high number of cyclists weaving in and out of the people walking through the promenade and there are an equal number of people using the rental scooters. I would not want to maneuver this with small children. There is a large bicycle police presence that gives you a sense of security. In the evening there are musicians playing and it is really nice to walk around and look out on the water. I would say the promenade is more a couples place than a family place but still worth the visit.

By Bill K |

There is a little bit of something for everyone here. Shopping opportunities, great restaurants, water taxis, paddle boats, children's activity centers/museums, a world-class aquarium, historical ships, and a gorgeous scenic walk.

If you are in Baltimore this is a place you won't want to miss.

By Lisadip |

Me and my husband visited for our 10th Anniversary for the first time and truly enjoyed all the sights and plan on returning for our 11th anniversary if not before.

By Kathryn J |

Wish the shops were opened. Hard to contribute to the local economy with very limited shopping. At least most of the restaurants were opened.

By LuigiNewJersey |

As many others have written about, it's sad to see the decline of what was once the centerpiece of downtown Baltimore. While it is still picturesque, both of the Inner Harbor pavillions are deserted and there is virtually nowhere to grab a bite to eat. While it seemed OK walking around during the afternoon, I would not recommend going there after dark.

By RonaldandMisty B |

So much to do all condensed into walking distance! Better than Most tourist areas. So many restaurants, bars, nightlife, things to do and see! Fireworks on the Fourth are unrivaled!

By Tom_and_Jo_Ann |

We hadn't been there in many years but I was not impressed at all. Yes, there are a couple of eateries, and 1 or 2 stores but that's it. We went over to Fells Point where there is more to do.

By Billya27 |

A lot to do in the Inner Harbor, great place to see history, the heights of Baltimore and enjoy great food and drink. Had the pleasure to be in town during the German Christmas Village at the Inner Harbor! Enjoyed a fabulous beer tasking and the German food was just fabulous, Schnitzel and Latke rocked!!

By WillM8741 |

The Inner Harbor is a great place to visit. It's good for walking around, bringing your family, or going for a run. There are multiple stores and restaurants to go to. You can take a boat ride. It's a nice place to take pictures. If your visiting Baltimore you should visit it,it's a good place to go for a day

By Melvin123 |

Lots of restaurants, shops, and museums. Can easily spend a couple of days. Stay and the Stay ridge Suites

By PSmitty123 |

Nice place to take a walk. The boats at the docks were interesting. the 911 Memorail and skywalk are a good take

By Maddie Detore |

I took a bus trip here and this was my first time visiting Maryland. Let me just say, I love it here! My aunt and I went to a little mall and although I did not like the PINK or Forever 21 there, it was still nice to visit. The water is beautiful and perfect to take pictures by. We explored tourist stores which I loved. It definitely is a tourist hotspot. There are numerous restaurants. A lot of police presence which is great. I would definitely go back!

By Kevin H |

I went there two days before New Year's Eve, and was shocked at the decline that has taking place. What was once A place that I considered to be a great experience on any given day or night, is now a complete waste of time and money. Not hard to believe that our current crop of political leaders, such as Mosby and her minions could bring down, what was once a wonderful place to be. So sad!

By Roseann_F |

It was a blistering hot day and we had already been walking all morning, so our one and only stop was the Constellation. We did not do the tour of the ship but enjoyed looking at the outside of it. The harbor is lovely as well. If I were to go again, I would stay in a hotel closer to the harbor area. There is a lot more to see and do on this area.

By Leonhkny |

Despite of Inner Harbor's fame as the most famous tourist attraction in Baltimore, it is indeed a somehow unremarkable waterfront area with some sleepy boutiques and restaurants. Many of the shops are closed amid covid-19. History fans can go directly to Fort McHenry.

By KW N |

It's worth visiting during the day, it's unique and has beautiful scenery. There is an aquarium nearby

If it's too late, you need to be careful about safety issues.

The surrounding area is deserted and there are few shops. If you want to buy souvenirs, there are few choices and the prices are not cheap.

By Courtney M |

I was at the opening of the Inner Harbor in Baltimore in July of 1980. It was the crown jewel of Baltimore then. It attracted tourists, conventioneers, visitors and local people every day, all the time for a good 15 years. It had first class shops and restaurants and it was great fun to visit. Not anymore. The Rouse Company sold it and the owners let it deteriorate and now, the new owners have no money to refurbish it.
It is very sad that such an exciting shopping venue such as the Inner Harbor is struggling to survive.

By Piranha44 |

Unfortunately, there is not a lot to say. So much is closed down. Only two of the historic ships are open. We never saw a water taxi. So much of the shopping/restaurant spaces are vacant. I hate to say it, but if the National Aquarium wasn't there, I don't know how long the area would last. It's sad because this is such a big part of the Baltimore experience. I hate to see it like that. Here's hoping for a comeback.

By Dee Nielson |

The inner habor has shopping, restuarants cruises and paddle boats. Enjoyed doing it all. Also, it was nice to get around via motorized scooter. The Habor view is beautiful. Some of the shops were closing like Banana Republic and PF Chang's. I hope they come back. Had a great time.

By jr1038 |

Not what it used to be. Squeegee kids running rampant over the area. Businesses have closed up so a lot of the energy is gone (moved east towards Fells Point). Very “unsettled” feeling to the area like most of Baltimore.

By The vicar |

A very close friend invited me to visit and spend some quality time with her and her family. It was awesome. We had lunch and shopped at the Inner Harbor, then saw the beautiful vistas in marvelous weather. There is much to see and do.

By charlie e |

The harbor area is pretty empty. Stores closed up or open at noon. Restaurants the same. There are alot of police in the area at all times. Homeless situation is pretty bad, reminds me of NYC and Philly. Nice during day but sketchy at night. Aquarium is easy to visit since tourism is down.

By usnwalker |

Good place to walk around and see the Baltimore skyline. Many restaurants and shops to pop into but not buck balti culture

By MRRomanSC |

Housing the Visitor center and built as a focal point for touring Baltimore. Typical tourist oriented development.

By Ernest Adams |

I had a real good time in June 2019 it was very nice me and my family went and we had nice vacation.

By Navigator34111495056 |

Baltimore shops were closed no where to really eat or visit, this was during the day.Got an uneasy feeling for the place cops just about on every corner ,nothing like it used to be. Definitely will not be going back

By Dave G |

I live in Baltimore and I'm used to it being a pretty lawless city but that said, the inner harbor has been surrendered to groups of teens who harass drivers at every light. It's not worth going to the harbor because you will be surrounded by aggressive kids demanding money every time you stop. The police and city officials have given up trying to mediate the problem so I have given up on Baltimore's inner harbor.

By Odyseey |

Great relaxing not crowded place to visit while in Baltimore my hotel had easy access to this area but too bad some shops were closed

By stevendale |

Inner Harbor is showing its age but still a nice place to visit during the day. Nighttime can be a different story, we were there on a Sunday night and a gang of local kids was trolling, cursing, pulling alarms and dancing on the 9/11 memorial. No visible police or security presence that we could see. We did see helpful area guides during the day. Still the aquarium, other attractions and many restaurants. Great walking city.

By dad1818 |

What an amazing area this is. We espe ially loved the World Trade Center Observation Floor. It offered a 360° view of the area. Artifacts and information fom 9/11 were on display. Views of the harbor, shopping opportunities, an ice rink, boat rides. . . It is all here. Don't miss this area.

By SKW78 |

This area is a fun place to see boats -big and small, with lots of things to do. The aquarium is there, a Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, water taxis, little boats to ride in that children would like, cruise options, places to eat, stores and a good Visitor's center to get info about the area.

By Richard F |

Very disappointed with the Inner Harbor. Not as clean and safe as it once was. To many people looking for hand outs.....many stores are closed. My wife and I always loved the Harbor but will not be back too soon.

By Mary M |

We normally drive a car back down to FL every fall-winter and we usually do some sightseeing. This year Baltimore Inner har or was a stop. We stayed about 1/4 mile from the harbor...we walked a great deal around the harbor into some neighborhoods surrounding the harbor. We didn’t really partake in the aquarium or the stadium. We had dinner at a small bar pub, so we could watch some of the baseball playoff action.
The reason I am writing this is to say there was a great deal of police presence all around us. From our hotel on the streets, all over the harbor. I appreciate it...but I didn’t realize that there was such a problem requiring their major presence!

By CatForAnt |

Nice place to visit once, but would not come back. We were only 2 blocks from the inner harbor and walked everyday. It was a pleasant walk but be aware of your surroundings. There are homeless on the benches at the harbor, security everywhere on every corner, keeping them moving. The water at the docks was filthy with trash, actually seen homeless dumping in water. Young people everywhere on those rental scooters going extremely fast in crowds, again be aware and keep your young children close because of the speeding. There are lots of good restaurants, touristy kinda shopping. A must see is the Aquarium

By uzzle731 |

We had a fantastic time sightseeing at the inner harbor. Nice shops & good eateries. The street entertainment was great as well.

By mothersboard |

A great place to go walking/biking and shopping! Loved walking the edge of water and feeding the birds. There are some good restaurants and shops but prepare to put the money out.

There are Uber Bikes and Scooters which I loved and was a fast way to get back to the parking garage.

They make great efforts to keep the area clean.

By Jeanie E |

walked around in the Inner Harbor with my teenage kids and really enjoyed it. We felt safe the entire time, we appreciated many others enjoying it, too, and we got some nice exercise. Yes, the water is quite dirty. I wished we could scoop out some of the garbage. However, we saw various parts of the shipping industry, the marinas for private boats and the unique way Baltimore uses the shoreline. We did not have time to go into area museums. we found a 10,000 villages shop and enjoyed looking around and making some purchases. A very nice way to spend a few hours.

By Alison P |

Scooters a must. Girls were addicted. We went out on a 45 minute boat cruise that was very nice. We unfortunately didn’t get to go in many shops this trip.

By mfromtransylvania |

Good area for relaxing, taking a stroll along the promenade. There are shops and restaurants around, but not a lot of choices. It can be unsafe at times, even in the busier areas.

By Jeremy W |

Well, they have a Mr. Trash Wheel, which is nice, and some old boats. And there is water to look at. Oh, and a Bubba Gumps. Essentially it is an open air mall by the fetid water. Oh, and be sure there arent roaming gangs of hoodlums looking to attack tourists. Charming place, really.

By R L |

I have visited the Inner Harbor many times and each time I see something new! It has something for everyone and the atmosphere is great!

By Ryan T |

Very unsafe. My wife was groped by a juvenile on a bike while we’re returning to our hotel. Juveniles are running around everywhere and out of control. I recommend bringing a firearm to keep you’re family safe. The Mayor must block young kids from going out down on the harbor to even have a chance to return. 0 stars

By yardranger |

Great tourist area during the daylight. There were yellow shirt staff that directed tourists and were very friendly. lots of Bicycle cops. Unfortunately there are a lot of homeless bums hanging out and Kids on Scooters zipping around all over.

By catmalways4ever |

inner harbor is covered in hotels, restaurants and sights. still sketchy at night but a good location for a Baltimore stay.

By Jktchorne |

It was nice walk around the inner harbor not crowed. Unfortunately when we went a little of stuff was still closed. We enjoyed looked at at the boats and people watching. We are at Hard Rock. My kids enjoyed the park.

By Doreen M |

My fiance and I had the most wonderful time and experience and met the most interesting and beautiful people during our walks around the harbor boardwalk and on our water tour. You must visit the Harbor at least once!!! The area is very safe and well maintained.

By boby |

Great views of the harbor and nice shops all around. Good people watching. Nice place to stroll the harbor in the evening.

By Intern52 |

First time visiting Baltimore. I was here for a conference. I thought this place was just “ok” to visit. The harbor is a nice place to take a walk. There was jellyfish in the harbor during my visit. Never saw that before. That was about my only highlight. The ships and paddle boats just sat around the harbor and didn’t seem to be open for tourists. There were restaurants around but I didn’t care to go to a chain. There are homeless people around. One of them did come up and asked me for money. I said “Sorry sir” and just walked away. I was hoping to take the water taxi to Ft. McHenry, however I found out that this service wasn’t available after Labor Day. Disappointing.

By Loey |

We stayed nearby to attend Baltimore Orioles games. During the days we strolled around Piers 3 to 1 and felt safe despite recent negative reviews. We took the free ferry (8 min ride) across from Pier 3 to Federal Hill and walked around back to the USS Constellation. We read historic signs, are ice cream and another day visited the National
Aquarium. Walking at night between Calvert St. & Camden Yards was safe. Planning to return with grandchildren!

By montanapescado |

This used to be the saving grace of a trip to the wretched city that is Baltimore. But now, it has fallen a good piece, and as always the relatively attractive area is too small an things deteriorate rapidly just a few blocks out. This used to be on the bubble as a recommended must do, but now is an easy pass.

By stephses |

I can't believe how much this area has changed since before the pandemic. A lot of businesses have closed and left it feeling rather empty and depressing. Also, they really need to clean up the water along the walkways. Looking at floating garbage is not really a pleasant experience.

By Tiffany R |

If you want to walk, ride a scooter, or water taxi this area has it all! I grabbed an ice cream cone at Rita’s (which was fantastic!), and there are numerous restaurants. I went to the bookstore, which used a former power plant as its architectural basis. It’s clean and there are so many views! You could spend hours down there if you wanted. There are ship tours and access points to a variety of neighborhoods via the water taxi. A must-visit area in Baltimore!

By Pierrot |

Disastrous visit!
All the shops and restaurants along the sea wall and the port were closed!!!
Bankruptcies we were told.
Too bad because our hotel was located in this disaster area.
Sad to have stayed there for 3 days...

By PATRICIA C |

Had the opportunity to be there with family, and everywhere you look there is something to discover, beautiful sightseeing and great restaurants all over!!

By ShiskaSharon |

More beautiful then we ever expected. So much to see, so much to do, so much history. Perfect setting for a much needed relaxing couple of days.

By Larry Jones |

We used to go down to the the inner harbor yearly and spend a few days then with all of the panhandlers, scam artists and crime it started to not be fun anymore so we stopped. My son decided to go down with his girlfriend this past weekend for a couple of nights. They parked in a garage at the inner harbor and weren't there for more than two hours when his car window was smashed and all of their stuff stolen. Cops never showed up as I'm sure they're busy dealing with all of the shootings, assaults and drugs. They had to turn around and come home because the car wasn't secure and they had no clothes. Guess who got the bill for the car window! Yes, I know that all cities have crime but it's hard for anyone to deny that Baltimore is seriously circling the drain and has been for some time.

By ecgentry62 |

It was a cool looking place around the water. Outside of the piers everything looked old & rundown. Was so surprised at the minimal shopping they had. We even took a cab to a mall in the Canton area then walked back to the inner harbor in hopes of finds little gems or shopping but was pretty disappointed all the way around on that aspect. They did have several good places to eat. Being so hot kept us from doing a couple of things. Everything was very pricey there. I'm glad we went & seen it & enjoyed most of our stay but not somewhere I'd care to go back to.

By Alex S |

Restaurants are all mediocre. Shops are sad and overpriced. Complete fail of an attempt at a tourist trap. Do not waste your time.

By COD |

The Inner Harbor has transformed over the years into a great vacation spot. Lots of places to eat and shop. The National Aquarium is a great site, as well as the historic ships. The 911 Memorial is a must see. One can not stop and see it without thinking about where you were on that day and time.
There is a small mall that is unfortunately, almost empty. That is the only area that takes away from beauty of the Harbor.

By Beffy1167 |

We live about an hour away, so it's an easy drive to spend a day exploring. There is much to see and do at the Harbor, all within easy walking distance.

You can get a taste of history or spend time at Ripley's Believe It or Not museum. You can also your the harbor by boat, or wander through the National Aquarium. And that's only a sample!

Parking is available at nearby parking garages, at a cost of about $30 for the day. Plenty of restaurants at different price points, and with a wide variety of foods.

By nowpacking |

Nice area for a walk along the harbor but we only sat on a bench as people were headed to the ballpark.
Yes, we encountered homeless asking for money but they were all polite. At one point we encountered some teenagers on electric scooters driving erratically through a crowded area on the walkways. Also saw the groups of motorcycles driving along Pratt while standing on the seats and doing wheelies!
No police presence any of our several days we walked through to restaurants along Pratt.

By Jacqueline P |

Catch a sunrise/sunset, run the harbor, take a cruise, get a bite to eat, and/or just hang out! Lots of attractions!

By covalentblond |

It gave good photo ops but not amazing but it was winter and it was fairly empty and alot was closed.

By mayaphototrips |

The Inner Harbor is great to walk around. Not far from Harbor East and Federal Hill. Walking distance. You can sit on a bench and people watch or you can wall around . Visit the National Aquarium or the science center. Eat at a multitude of different restaurants from seafood to burgers. Take a water taxi or scooter. Anyway you want visit the Inner Harbor for a good time

By janetjoy337 |

beautiful area and very easily walkable to take in everything. Well lit in most places after dark. The view after dark is remarkable!

By Jim W |

The inner harbor area is in my opinion the best part of Baltimore although Fells Points and Little Italy are also wonderful. I love walking around this area and have always felt safe despite the bad rap that Baltimore has earned on its own. There is so much to do from the National Aquarium to Camden Yards to the Reginald Lewis Museum and so many other events and a plethora of great restaurants.

Came back after being gone for a few years. Place has fallen on hard times. Most stores shuttered. Used to be a destination to shop, eat and hang out. No longer the case. Needs a real facelift. Just down the road near Little Italy and sling the harbor is vibrant with everything the Inner Harbor lost.

By anthony P |

My wife and i come to D.C. and the Inner Harbor as often as we can from Pittsburgh. We love it here,o much to see and do.

By Adam B |

Although many travel blogs still list the Inner Harbor as one of the top family tourist destinations in the NE, we can tell that many of these bloggers have not been to Baltimore in a long time. Most of the stores and restaurants are closed. Maintenance and security funding must have been cut as well because it was dirty and did not feel safe. It is a shame that this gem has been left to decay. Even the aquarium, which was once a national treasure, is not nearly as exciting and fun as it used to be. We finally gave up and left when the aggressive corner preacher with the megaphone started threatening and cursing at the tourists.

By Jesse Trips |

If you like your sleep don’t make this your destination. Because it’s now a democrat run town they have a biker gang that rule the streets till 3 am. The police don’t touch them. It’s dirty and doesn’t feel safe anymore. While the aquarium was wonderful we won’t be going back. It’s such a shame because this used to be such a great place.

By 1796 |

Not safe, we drove to inner harbor and were harassed most of the time we had to stop. The people harassing us were very aggressive and unconcerned with any decency or manners. This is not a safe or relaxing tourist destination.

By akosikenn |

We’ve been to Inner Harbor a number of times throughout the years and it used to be a bustling tourist place. This is the first time we returned since COVID. The great attractions are still there like the National Aquarium, the USS Constellation, and the USS Torsk but the shops are noticeably missing. There are also a lot more homeless people and non existent police presence. I can only guess that’s the reason there are less people now especially at the Pratt St and Light St buildings. I would recommend sticking to the National Aquarium side of the area if you want to visit.

By Chene2008 |

The Inner Harbor with the Aquarium and seaport is quite nice. However, I was terribly disappointed to see that the family feel I expected was ruined by dining. Why on earth a Hooters restaurant was placed in this location is beyond belief. Not what I want to see when walking the Harbor. How totally humiliating when bringing your family to walk around the Harbor. My 22 year old daughter said "Talk about inequality (as she wore her sweatshirt that says 'Equality'." I won't be back.

By Jonna P |

Deserted and not safe after dark. Covid has decimated the inner harbor. Aside from the horrible Cheesecake Factory and 4 other shops the rest are closed. Scammers on every corner asking for money. Stinks like dope. Water dirty.

By Meredith |

I loved this place as a kid. It was FILLED with unique shops and eateries. Now it is mostly empty and walled off. Outside is great with the waterfront and live entertainment. (But somebody should run a skimmer along the water's edge and remove all of the garbage.) With the amount of foot traffic, history and marketing this place gets, it should be a gold mine. I hope it is restored to the grandure that it once was.

A nice section of Baltimore to visit. The area is clean and great to walk around, there are several street musicians. Good restaurants and family centric activities.

By flaviabb2019 |

We decided last minute to go to Fogo de chão restaurant and it's walking distance from the harbor. It was a great idea as we got ice cream and just enjoyed walking around and checking the stores

By Joe R |

We didn't make it farther than the building across from the Hyatt Regency. A large group of teenagers decided taunting a couple of senior tourists made for fun. One actually ran up behind me and leapt over my head giving me a sprained neck. Baltimore is off limits.

By Botzworth |

Spent three days in the inner harbor area. I was impressed with how clean they kept it. They had crews out with brooms and small vacuum cars cleaning the streets. There was a decent police presence and a lot of private security. Even with that, the panhandlers and beggars are EVERYWHERE. We did not have any get aggressive but in certain blocks around the restaurants you would be approached 4 to 5 times. Many of the harbor front restaurants have their bathroom doors locked and you have to get a code off your receipt to get into the bathroom. There was also major street work going on in several places that made getting around downtown a challenge,

Beware parking is very expensive. The garage next to our hotel was $32 a day. Saw several places charging $6 for 30 minutes. Plan ahead and try iparkit. They have several garages and lots downtown and save us $24 over 3 days.

I would have liked to explore the area away from the harbor front some more but just got tried of people asking for money and the farther away from the harbor the less police and security presence you saw.

By blazestarr |

We almost walked the entire way from Penn station Baltimore to the inner harbor. We were able to catch the charm city circulator about 3 blocks before the harbor. The Bird scooter rentals were fun. We walked in the sand at Rash Field/ Baltimore beach. Climbed to the top of Federal hill. The people were cool. Rode the harbor connector from pier 5 and enjoyed dinner at the hard rock cafe.

We used a lot of wipes! If possible bring extra water to rinse off sand.

Once upon a time Baltimore's Inner Harbor complex was the Charm City's crown jewel for tourism. Now, there are two types who visit: Predators and Prey. The predators are attracted by the easy prey - usually clueless tourists who are carrying cash, credit cards, and late model mobile telephones.

Recently, I attended concerts at the MECU Pavilion (formerly Pier Six) at the Inner Harbor. On the first occasion, we walked from a waterfront restaurant (no crowds - so no problem getting a table). Along the way we found ourselves in the middle of a "scuffle" between some "rowdy" youths.

The second time, over safety concerns I chose to drive. Have tried Uber, Lyft, and a taxi (I was literally spat upon when I declined the pleaseof a local panhandler).

I have a home within walking distance.

Wouldn't dare. Neither should you!

Beautiful walk, views basic food places. Neat water taxi that will take you to poi ts you want to go but don't want to walk.

My family has been visiting Inner Harbor for 25 years.
After what we saw July 4th. We will never...never go there again.
The whole area is crime ridden and the police are not enforcing the law.
Travel at your own risk.

Came to spend 2 days at Inner Harbor before heading back to the airport. There is a lot to see and do and good food every where. Best not to have a car here as parking is very expensive.

By Annette R |

This location offer many restaurants to eat a variety of food. You can walk, sit and enjoy the view. The historic ships is located near of the inner harbor.

By RLB |

The Inner Harbor offers excellent sightseeing and great restaurants. It's a perfect fun day for families with water rides, sightseeing boat excursions, and a wide range of eateries for every taste and budget. Must sees include the historic ships and National Aquarium. Excursion cruises out into the past and past Fort Mc Henry run throughout the day and evening. We did the Saturday night dinner cruise on the Spirit of Baltimore - wonderful!

My wife was excited to do a little shopping while we were there, but was disappointed. The marketplace, which was very vibrant a few years ago, is mostly filled with vacancies.

All in all, it is a great day.

By jrauchett |

The view is so beutiful everyone is so polite. Theres so many nice places to eat and enjoy the beutiful view

By Zemin H |

Inner Harbor is a beautiful place for walk, it's hard to find parking space on nearby streets. Patapsco River connects to Chesapeake Bay, I tried to taste the river water for curiosity, no salt at all, it's too far from the bay. it's also an excellent place to watch sunset.

By Saalaler C |

We have visited the Inner Harbor about 5 times in the past and we always had a great time with our family. It used to be a family place, not so much anymore. It’s not what it used to be just a few years ago. I’m not interested in ever returning and I don’t think it’s safe at all.

By ChecknOutEverything |

My wife and I decided on the Baltimore Inner Harbor for a weekend getaway. It was worth it. We visited Top of the World, Mo’s Fisherman’s Wharf, the Maryland Zoo and stayed at the Hyatt Place. I hadn’t been to the harbor in a long time. It was worth it.

By Morgan |

There are a number or restaurants to visit as well as sites like the Baltimore Aquarium, World trade center, Coast Gaurd Tour, Ripley's Believe it or Not, etc. Make sure to take a visit and even take 30 minutes to take a cheesy dragon boat. A fun way to spend an afternoon but longer then that, you may get bored....

By McVincenzo |

It’s been about 15 years since my family and I visited this area. It’s changed a lot and sadly, not for the better. The buildings that used to contain restaurants and shops are mostly closed and the area is general is dirty. Police presence was in abundance which speaks to the escalating crime, although we never felt unsafe and walked into the city, away from the harbor. The historic boats were all closed on a Friday afternoon. It’s hard to know whats not operating because of Covid and what’s just not open anymore. In general though, the harbor is a sad reflection of what it once was.

By ArtM4 |

Loved this area and using the water taxis to go to Ft McHenry. Go to top World Trade Center to view the city from 27 floors above.

By Jason S |

When I was in the Navy we made a port visit in Baltimore in 1999 and had a GREAT time. With this in mind decided to make a day trip back to the Inner Harbor, and WOW has it gone downhill. Nothing was open, no shops worth seeing, and everyone seemed on edge. Homeless, people asking for money or if you want to buy drugs, and just felt unsafe. Baltimore has always been a city where safety was a concern, but the Inner Harbor was a jewel. Now it's a rusty nail with a bitter of glimmer. If you are like member thinking of a visit because of the past, let me just say AVOID IT, because it's nothing like what it once was.

By ItalianChicken1 |

I stayed at a hotel in the inner Harbour and had a chance to walk around a dew days around this area. All very clean and well kept. They have lots of security guards in light blue shirts patrolling too. There are the few homeless asking for help but they don't bother people much. Lots of boats and 3 historical boats to visit.

By drewsmomma03 |

Spent the first beautiful day of the year out by the water! Loved using the scooters around the harbor! Rode over to Fell’s Point and Aquarium!!!! The water taxi was free and very convenient!

By Running Man |

Tourist area of Baltimore. Food and shopping options are everywhere. Great views of harbor and great walking paths.

By Catwoman105 |

Lots of great views! Coast Guard cutter was amazing and there is parking close to the Inner Harbor at Pier V parking. But, expensive! Lots of little shops to visit and restaurants to choose from while walking. If you don’t want to walk there are plenty of scooters around! Visited Little Italy but that is another review!

By MARIO M |

Three hours were enough for an overview of the place. It's not a place I plan on going back to. Writing more is unnecessary

By Paris1952 |

From water taxi’s around the harbor to holiday events, spend some time here when your are in the Baltimore area. I have gone back over and over and there is always something new to do!

By Philip M |

Start your day with a walk around the harbor and pick out the restaurants you'll try later in the day. Shop for a Ritz Carlton time share. Pick out your next boat. One can understand why so many say that the inner harbor is the best part of the city.

By mermaidsally2017 |

Just a beautiful place to be. So many places to eat and shop! I like to people watch and there is plenty of that.

By LoveToTravelTerrie |

We explored this area one night after having dinner at a restaurant close by. We felt safe though there were not a lot of people out on this cold February night. However we enjoyed strolling around!

By Pigafetta Journals |

A beautiful harbor place with a lot of good restaurants and shops around. some restaurants offer outdoor seating.

By Deanne D |

There is lots to see here. They have done it up to look very clean and attractive for tourists. There are shops, plenty of places to eats. Boats to rent in the summer, a submarine, a ship and other interesting things. Definitely worth a visit and walk around.

By therese z |

Having grown up in Baltimore keeps that city close to my heart. In the 70s I watched the inner harbor transform itself from an industrial epicenter to the beautiful attraction that it is today. Sure, the pavilions around the inner harbor could use a little facelift but they are clean and there are interesting things to see and do. Sadly work took us out of the area so this weekend was a wonderful return to our roots. From Harborplace to Historic Fells Point and the lovely harborside marinas of Canton there is always something entertaining . A day could be spent with Breakfast at Miss Shirley’s serving a cornucopia of southern favorites for breakfast, then on to the National Aquarium and later an exciting paddle in the dragon boats in the afternoon. For dinner, there is Cinghaile for fine dining or if you like something less formal there is a Shake Shack on Pratt Street and lots of options in between. The Maryland Science Center is another must see and not to be missed are Port Discovery and the varied options at the Power Plant. Treat yourself to an Orioles Game at the beautiful Camden yards and perhaps catch a glimpse of members of the dream team at Dempsey’s. You might even see Rick Dempsey, Brooks Robinson, Jim Palmer or Cal Ripken as you wander through the concessions.
To know Baltimore is to love Baltimore. Ask any of the residents who live and work in the vibrant areas surrounding the harbor.

By welovetotravelmore |

Great place to spend some time - walked around all over enjoying the scenery and views - amazing!! Lots of restaurants but didn’t have enough time - unfortunately I parked in one of the building ramps and spent $25 for a few hours of parking (way too expensive for short term parking). Fun but wished I had more time!!

By Kathryn |

I loved the inner harbor. Very cool place loved the shops restaurants aquarium views and everything. Very awesome experience. Outdoor areas are very nice and relaxing. Wonderful water/harbor views. And the crab cakes are the best. Great area must visit if you're in Baltimore

By Lahpug |

I met up with family on a Friday through Saturday afternoon and I couldn’t believe how much this place has changed. The last time I came here was about seven years ago and we had so much fun and there was so much to do. I noticed that a lot of restaurants and shops closed and the area is not safe. After dinner, we wanted to take a walk around the harbor and we were met by rude teenagers riding their bikes erratically and one of them bumped into my sister. All we smelled was the odor of pot, very loud music and cops everywhere. We made it halfway and came back because we didn’t feel safe. It’s a shame what has happened here. We won’t be returning.

By Brandy B |

The Inner Harbor is a beautiful place, but it is overrun by homeless. There is very little police presence. We walked around the area, but encountered the homeless population every few feet. It was unsettling and didn’t feel very safe. I would not go out after 6pm if visiting. Once upon a time, this was an amazing place. Today, not so much.

By Mike from Toron... R |

We explored the waterfront on electric scooters... rentable via app on your phone. There was a lot of pathways and some dedicated roadways (painted and curbed) to get around while not worrying about cars.

By Cherry |

Most of the shops are closed. Streets are not as clean as previous years visits. Daily parking is at a premium with premium pricing.

By Denise M. |

I went there with my sister's a few weeks ago. We went to the Inner Harbor every day and it just seem run down. We ate at Phillips restaurant the first night. My salmon dish was ok the calamari was like frozen calamari from a grocery store. That night there was a concert playing so you could hear the music and just stand on the pier. Parking is at least $10.00 or more everywhere around Inner Harbor.

It was sad none of the ships were open to tour all three days we went there. I would have liked to tour the ships.

There was a very nice 9/11 memorial for the plane that hit in PA affecting Baltimore residents. I would have like to go to top of the world trade center, which was only 8 floors up, but you had to pay for that too like $8.00. I would rather go up for free and pay that for a drink.

None of the shops seemed open when I was there around 6pm just weird how it was not fully operational during the prime springtime of the year with tourists all around.

Don't ever expect to go back again.

By JMC |

This area is good to visit on a nice day of weather. Very cool atmosphere and lots of areas to walk.

By Eddie S |

It is a nice place to visit and stroll along the water front. There are a lot of things to do and see along the water front. Plus a few good restaurants to stop in for a bite to eat. Just check on the place or attraction you want to visit. Some places are closed on Sundays.

By 4kids2dogsandahubby |

My son and I did an overnight in the inner harbor on our way back to Canada after his lacrosse showcase and loved the vibe in the harbor. So many people out stroller, running and just enjoying being out post covid! It had the same feel as the Queen’s Quay here in Toronto but much larger. Lots of restos so hard to choose! Must do and see if in Baltimore!

By John B |

If you are headed to Inner Harbor and in need of a rental car, DO NOT rent from the Enterprise Car Rental on Light Street. I had a reservation for a 7-passenger vehicle over Thanksgiving 2023 and they did not have my car -- or ANY car -- when I arrived. The manager Ms. Smalley lied to me and told me that she had left me "several voicemails" the day before (she had not), and that there was "nothing she could do." No offer to help, nothing. Essentially "pound sand." Never again.

By Tammie B |

We visited during Christmas and had the pleasure of visiting the Christmas Village. It was full of vendors, food and gifts. I wish we had gone at night, I'm sure the Christmas lights were beautiful. The rest of Inner Harbor was a great to visit. The large ships are a sight to see. We didn't visit the Aquarium on this visit but plan to on a future visit. It's a nice leisurely walk for those who want to see the sights.

By Rhonda P |

A very clean, nice place to walk or scooter around. Touristy. Check out the historic ships. The USS Constitution is very cool!

By Wendy |

I absolutely love the inner harbor! Such a beautiful area. The National Aquarium is definitely a must see. Also visit the 9/11 Memorial and go up and see all the displays they have.

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

When we visited in November 2022, the Inner Harbor had not yet recovered from the pandemic. I recall it being a fun and lively area when I was last here 20 years ago. While it still is an attractive setting, the area felt abandoned when I visited on a Sunday afternoon in early November. Maybe it was just the time of year and I hope things are different in the warmer summer months as it is a scenic and historic place to visit. The National Aquarium located here is amongst the best aquariums in the country.

By Venture14151193362 |

Parking can be difficult and expensive. aquarium was ok but have been to nicer ones. Walk around the harbor would be awesome and beautiful if not for the declining atmosphere. Was continuously asked for money by the homeless that walk around the area. A small group of individuals making racial protest and directing them at certain groups. They made my 10 year old son feel uneasy when they directly made hateful remarks towards him even though we tried to avoid them and had no contact with them until I told them to leave us alone. Not a friendly or inviting place. Felt unsafe outside aquarium. Will never go back to Baltimore or any of its tourist areas. Will gladly plan trips to somewhere else. Don't recommend and family to visit Inner harbor or Baltimore for that fact.

I researched Inner Harbor (Baltimore) in January when I was planning our trip. I planned on Ft Mc Henry and the Historic Ships. We went today 4-6-2022 - it started out with pretty crappy weather. Raining then drizzling and a bit windy. By the time we go to the Fort, the rain has stopped. Yay! Fort McHenry was awesome! The second part to our day was to visit the Historic Ships. There are 5 - one is a submarine. We got to the kiosk to buy our tickets and the one ship, the Chesapeake located right at the ticket kiosk was closed. What the heck. Website said all ships are open 10-5, M-F. Well they lied. I tried calling. The voicemail says to “send us an email for a quicker reply” - that was over 4 hours ago. Still no reply. This wasn’t open. Uncertain about if the Coast Guard one was open. There was no activity at the USS Constellation. It seemed open, but we weren’t willing to spend $38 to tour 1-2 ships. So we decided to just Putz around the Inner Harbor. YIKES!! Even the Visitor Center was closed. A homeless camp is set up in the midst of the entire Inner Harbor. They had all their sleeping blankets spread out and hanging to fry from the rain 😪. There were some “cray-cray” folks walking around talking to themselves. Some barely dressed. Some trying to manipulate other people to get money. There were more than one guy yelling at the top of his lungs about “something” (I have no idea what his train of thought actually was). Most places were closed up. It ain’t what it used to be folks. Be aware. We left. And went to LP Steamers for an early dinner. This is closer to Fort McHenry. This establishment was fantastic!!

By Tony R |

Went to the inner harbor since everyone talks about how great it is. Maybe is was at one time but not so much now. We did go on the big ships and had lunch and Dinner but noticed most of the shops are closed down, maybe they could not survive covid. I was thinking there would be more to do but ONE DAY is more than enough.

We did go back at night but not the same as the day time We didnt feel as safe at night.

By val-gal0123 |

This Harbor is a fantastic view any time of day. It is a brick walk all around the harbor and it had many nice places to eat and shop. If it was not for a business trip I would not have experienced this awesome harbor experience.

By colonial |

The Inner Harbour used to be so beautiful! Now it is overdeveloped and crowded. It used to be charming with a small amount of ships and really picturesque. Now it is crowded and aesthetically unappealing.

By Debra P |

I would give this a zero if I could. We saw someone get mugged while having a gun pointed at them. It was daylight and in the afternoon. This used to be one of our favorite places to go. While walking from the Hotel to the restaurant, which was close, we were approached by four men who said they had a gun. Thank goodness a Police Officer drove by and they left. I will never go back again. So sad and unsafe

By Marie D |

I'm a Baltimore native, born and raised, and used to love visiting the Inner Harbor. It's a beautiful place, right on the waterfront, and when the weather is nice it's a great place to just walk around and people watch. Unfortunately, over the past decade or so, this area has declined in quality and safety. The harbor buildings are worn down and a lot of the big name companies and restaurants have moved out of it. Additionally, there's been increased crime in the area even when there's a ton of people out and about. It's sad to say that there's nothing here worth visiting anymore, other than maybe the Aquarium and a few remaining restaurants.

By bobaloo000 |

The Inner Harbor never disappoints. Just a great vibe when you walk around. Had some drinks outside over looking the Harbor. We're entertained by someone playing a trumpet, a man walking with a snake around his neck. and a small band. Great place to pregame before heading to Camden Yards.

By Dinerdon |

Was really dissapointed. Not what it used to be. Been there many times but not recently. Most of the shops were closed and vacant. Nothing much to do other than the aquarium which also was not what it used to be.
Deserted place with nothing.
Won't go back.

By Tj M |

For years, my family and I have visited the Inner Harbor, and it continues to be a great place to explore. The area has improved over time, with fewer rundown buildings and less graffiti than in the past.

Like most large cities, there are some issues with homelessness and the occasional uncomfortable situation with random people talking to themselves in shaded areas, but if you stay aware and avoid certain spots, it’s easy to enjoy the visit. The food options are good, attractions are plentiful, and everything is conveniently within walking distance.

Overall, it’s a nice destination that’s worth visiting as long as you plan wisely and stay vigilant.

By rroze2000 |

We took a side trip here while visiting colleges.....Big Mistake. Gangs rule the area and harass people. We saw several incidents. I grew up in the hood so gangs don't typically intimidate me and my 45, but this was scary for my daughter. It's very sad what this place has become.

By Scott L |

There is not much going on here, which is a bit unexpected. Seems like a lot of places have closed down. There are still plenty of restaurants to dine at, which is good for an evening stroll.

By Blue Highways of Texas |

The city of Baltimore had done a very good job renovating the Inner Harbor area. The locals love to walk around enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds and there are places for kids to play. There are many things to do and see- the Visitors Center, National Aquarium, Historic ships, Maryland Science Center, and the Port Discovery Childrens Museum. Plus, there are paddle boats, water taxis and cruises available. And don't miss out on the many restaurants and shopping.

By kath |

If you have friends who were first time visitors, you can bring them here since there's not much attractions in Baltimore area hehe.

By Amir W |

What a lovely space to take a walk around with your friends. I loved the mix of old and new with things to see and do. The Christmas Market was a real surprise, and brought life to the area.

By Barry s |

I live in Baltimore, So I know a thing or two about the Inner Harbor. First you must understand that everything was not built at once, or even in stages. The two arcade style pavillions known as Harborplace were built in 1980. The one on Pratt street had boutiques. There were two floors, and you would walk through from one end to the other. The second building known as the Light street pavillion had food. There were stalls and restaurants . The place was filled with tables, and you could sit inside or out on the balconies, or in the restaurants inside or out. It takes a lot of writing to explain everything, so I'll make it as short as I can. But in days gone by, the Harbor was a place to go, and it was safe. It's hard to explain, but the Inner Harbor had a different atmosphere then it has today. When James Rouse died, the guy who built Harborplace, the Rouse
Corporation sold the two pavillions, and everything went down hill from there.

Loved this area. Plenty of shops, attractions, and places to eat around here. The views are amazing. We went to the historic ship museum, aquarium, walked around, and went to the lighthouse. It was worth the trip! We parked in one of the parking garages that was sort of across the street from the aquarium and got our parking validated so we saved some money. It was busy on a Friday but I think it would be busy anytime during the summer season. We went in August.

By Kelly M |

Fun to hang out on a nice day. Rita’s Italian ice is recommended. Some fun little stores and a few places to eat. We did ride the little electric pirate boats which is fun, but when they are busy there are a lot of boats in a very small area. Still would recommend.

By Ernestine W |

The waterfront was beautiful and there is lots of walking. The earlier you go out the less cluttered and the pier area will be. Not a lot of souvenir shops around just for sight seeing. Be mindful/aware of the late evening activity. A lot of bikes in the area on the weekend. Be careful with small kids.

This city is so charming and the harbor was nice to walk around. We got 7-8 miles in each day just walking around. There are many restaurants, bars, stores and museums all over the place. You can take boat tours, play in parks and take a water taxi to other areas.

By Davide |

Relax your weekend having a walk around the Inner Harbour and the plenty of pubs and restaurants along the piers.

By Robertoisfun |

When we come to Baltimore we always go down to the Inner Harbor. We seen a lot of changes over the years. Now it seems all the decent places have moved out and are relocated down around Pier 5. Lots of vacant shops now. It's a shame. Still fun to walk around the bag of and people watch.

By GeneralShamu |

Absolute lovely place to visit in the evening or during the weekends. Mostly stroller/wheelchair friendly though can be a bit tricky on the grass, especially if it's rained and it's gotten a little muddy. Tons of stalls to choose from and small businesses to support. Went there every day we were in town.

By Kristin D |

Great time visiting the inner harbor this weekend! Enjoyed the food, beverages and hotel. Lots of friendly people that were very laid back. Even as rivals in the stadium, everyone was pleasant.

By MoeMoe8 |

Nice, air conditioned cabin. Can climb to upper deck and experience the outdoors. Lots of facts about the pier, harbor, area. Snacks & drinks are available for movie theater prices. You'll need to decide if $19 is worth 45 minutes of education. We enjoyed ourselves with friends.

We also did the Pirate Battery-Powered Boats. Lots of fun for our group of 6 adults, easily can fit a whole family (only $35). Don't go pass the buoy! Fun or you can Paddle Boat which we selected not to do.

Some people enjoyed Phillips Seafood while me & my matey enjoyed Lucky's custard - delicious cones.

I had read reviews about how the Inner Harbor has gone hill and chose to ignore them. I prefer to develop my own opinion when possible. Sadly, the reviews were correct. It isn’t a bad area, but isn’t the bustling place it used to be. Many of the nice little restaurants are gone. The mall along the waterfront looks old and there isn’t much left in it. We were a bit disappointed, so we strolled down to Fells Point. That seems to be the new place to be! There are plenty of new restaurants and while it’s an old area, it’s beautiful and clean!

I remember going to the inner harbor years ago and it was so different. I feel like its going more and more down hill. A lot of the attractions that used to be there are continuing to close their doors. Most recently, the huge Barnes and Noble. Very saddened to find this out when we were there. It was one of my childrens favorite book stores to visit :(

I walked around this harbor while staying in a nearby hotel, and could see that it had once been a great place for socializing and shopping. I think it's still used for political activity. It seemed fairly empty, between the cooler weather and the closed shoppes (whether due to COVID or due to other reasons, I'm not sure). I wouldn't walk here alone after dark, but during the day, it's a nice place to sightsee.

This was a nice place to walk around and take a stroll. There is a lot of things to see and historical information to read.

We have read recent views about the decline of the Inner Harbor, as well as those still enjoying the place. Having been among those who visited back when it first opened, we certainly agree there has been change and the coming and going of favorite shops and restaurants. Even so, today, we were still impressed with the water views and the surrounding architecture. Happily, park areas on the south and west sides are being upgraded. Standards like the Science Center, the National Aquarium, and the World Trade Center are still going strong. The frequent seasonal and holiday events brought us downtown today, and we enjoyed three hours in the area. Parking is definitely not cheap, but it is adequate. With recent TV news reports about security issues, we were surprised not to see obvious security personnel around. We hope the Inner Harbor has many years ahead.

This was a stop on a recent bus tour. There is plenty to do and see. The walking areas are well maintained and clean. Situated right on the water with plenty of benches to just sit and relax it is a nice place to spend some time.

We really enjoyed this area of Baltimore and thankfully did not encounter the crime and gangs so frequently mentioned in the reviews. Very picturesque and reminiscent of Boston Harbor. If the reviews are true about the gangs/crime, that is a terrible shame. We did see a couple of unsavory folks but that is to be expected in any city. We mostly saw young hipsters getting their jog on, couples out for a stroll, and folks out walking their dogs.

We spent a late evening just strolling around after dinner. Lots to see and take in. Be certain to keep an eye out for folks on scooters, as they seam to be everywhere.

Something for everyone: good to great restaurants, great wine store, museums, aquarium, great strolling & people watching, shopping, boat tours, boat museums (WWII sub, square-rigger & more) free water taxi rides & on & on.

After driving through some other areas of Baltimore we were unsure of what to expect - but the harbor area is absolutely lovely. It's nice and clean and there is so much to see and do. Lots of fun shops and places to eat. Great walking/cycling paths and awesome scenery. Lots of police presence so you feel very safe and comfortable. I loved it!

We walked the entire perimeter of Baltimore's Inner Harbor on a beautifully sunny day. Visualizing the historical aspects of the Harbor, including the ship Constellation, was sensational. The green shirt harbor guides are wonderful too. Definitely worth seeing while downtown.

We used to live in MD & went quite frequently to the harbor before or after Oriole games. We were there just yesterday & were deeply frustrated with a group of about 15 boys on bikes that were riding fast along the Harbor between pedestrians while doing wheelies. I had one of them come within a foot of hitting me & it appeared on purpose. He smirked & rode away. There was NO police presence anywhere that we saw. We won’t go back.

I haven't been to Baltimore Inner Harbor in years and we went there before an Orioles game. What a disappointment, it used to be a thriving shopping and dining area with lots of food choices, but no more. Only Hooters remains open. Such a shame. there was also lots of homeless wondering around.

Some pretty views of the port and lots of restaurants and terraces available. One of Baltimore's best walking spots

Nice area for relaxing walk around a waterfront. Clean. Visitor's Bureau was very helpful. Not as many restaurants as when I last visited about 5 years ago.

Our hotel was close by the inner harbour, so we took a stroll along the harbour. You will walk by the National Aquarium, historical ship parked along the harbour. There were paddle boats and live music, so it was a very nice stroll.

We used to come here annually and within the last couple years it has been a steady decline . This past visit was our last. It’s a Democratic run city and we all know what that means ! It’s a s***hole ! Crime , dirty , graffiti , very few businesses and the ones that are open are disgusting and dirty and the employees are rude and don’t care if you are there or not. It feels very unsafe walking in the Inner harbor . Rundown with thugs and drugs. Even locals will tell you it’s unsafe . I honestly hope they continue to decline at this point because it’s what it deserves ! No one in place to help cares so why would should anyone come visit?!? Stay away.

Beautiful waterfront. Hard to enjoy it because the riff raffs come out on the sunny days and beg for money. Not what it used to be when we visited in 2019. Aquarium is nice. Philipps and Miss Shirley’s are great places to eat!

We had an uneventful experience. However, half the restaurants only have take out, the shopping hours are 11:00-5pm, and the Barnes and Noble in the iconic Power Plant is closed forever. Social distancing was very easy because even on a weekday Thursday/Friday there was very little foot traffic. I said half day because there is not a multiple day worth of activities. All boating in the harbor looked closed, and the only child activity to do is the aquarium and with one way traffic and no shows this will only take 2-3 hours of day. Find a restaurant that has indoor or outdoor seating and you will have no trouble with traffic getting out of city.

Many things to do. Shopping, restaurants, Aquarium, informative boat tours around the harbor, with a bar! You can even book a dinner cruise. We went on the daytime cruise. Lasted about an hour, but had a lot of information on the history of many buildings and ships in the harbor.

We were driving by the Inner Harbor and were intrigued by all the activity and lights and decided to stop to visit the Christmas Village. We were fortunate to get a free parking place right by the entrance. It was so great to see all the people enjoyed themselves.

The German Christmas Village started back in 2013 and has since been a yearly event. It is an indoor-outdoor experience modeled after the famous Nuremberg Christkindlmarkt. You will find all sorts of goodies to enjoy – waffles, gingerbread and bratwurst. Grab something to eat and wander the village filled with traditional German-style wooden huts. There are over 50 vendors selling authentic European food, ornaments, arts & crafts from all over the world. The village will be open until Dec. 24 and is open from 11:00 AM – Monday thru Friday and 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Just back and boy am I disappointed! Just bout all the stores in the main mall are gone! Totally lifeless without these local merchants. Except for the Aquarium there's little for a family to do. Fell Point is a nice area but be careful how you walk to get there because homeless abound the area. NOT coming back anytime soon!

Lots to do around the inner Harbor. Most things are in walking distance from the hotels. Dinner at one of the restaurants on the harbor is a must. Good food and a great view.

Visited over President’s weekend and still enjoyed the area despite the winter month. The area is a central location in Baltimore and is a bustling area during the day. The views of the harbor were beautiful. Lots of stores, restaurants and local tourist sites. Take the time to go for a stroll around inner harbor.

Just a quick getaway for a couple of days. My boyfriend and I stayed at 1840s Carrollton Inn which was very nice. They had free breakfast that you can enjoy in your room, cute dining room or in the court yard which were all beutiful . The Inn was just a short walk to the Inner Harbor , Orieole Park and multiple restaurants . I wouldnt stay here more than two days unless you are in the area for a specific reason. We enjoyed the "Best Balls in Town" at Benny's in Little Italy. A great place to eat and enjoy delicious cocktails. The staff was very friendly .

Lovely shopping and dining area downtown. We were there at night. Ice skating rink was sweet to watch. The boats and docks are beautiful.

It was a great day, watching the boats on the water, adults and children alike on scooters along the boardwalk smiling faces everywhere.

This Inner Harbor seemed to have everything there – local favorites, fantastic restaurants, the aquarium, museums, historic ships and spectacular views. The city has done a great job of renovating the entire area.

Fortunately, our hotel was very close by. We were there for only two days, and we used the little time we had to enjoy relaxing walks every morning, get our steps in, reading numerous plaques to learn a lot about the history and taking photos at many scenic spots. Our favorite spot was near the Lighthouse and the Coast Guard Ship that was the last surviving one from Pearl Harbor.

Early morning, there were the exercise buffs, runners and walkers, and later at night there were families with children. We felt safe during all our walks.

Recommend a visit.

I been traveling to this area for over 30 years, sadly few stores and few restaurants in this area. Besides is more expensive nowadays, I remember back in the days so much to do and fun.
