We’re here in the dead of winter and the beach is gorgeous! Great public facilities. Plenty to see and do. Would highly recommend.

The white capping waves are breathtaking! Go at low tide to enjoy so much beauty. Excellent restaurants to enjoy, many right on the beach!

walked along beach to pier to road to shops, Hampton Inn excellent hotel for pool area, rooms with balconies, entrance to beach area with outside and inside bars, family oriented

It was amazing. We stayed in an AirBNB and it was worth it. These are photos of a few of the various travels we made outside of the beach. We were there for a month and saw many places. These are the pictures I don't mind sharing. IFly and Top Golf are also there. You can find so much to do in Jacksonville from entertainment to dining.

Beautiful sunset, clean , not friendly or safe after dark. Very different from Jekyll Island or Tybee.

If you are looking for a quick beach getaway and not wanting to travel far--then Jacksonville Beach is okay.

This beach has come a long way from the 70's. It is beautiful. There are restaurants and gift shops on the South side of the pier and the hotels open up to the beach on the North side. The sand is cool and the water is comfortable. Great place to walk, sit, people watch and reflect. Can't wait to come back.

We had a fabulous time on the sunny beach of Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra. The water and beach were clear and clean. Perfect getaway!

We loved JACKSONVILLE BEACH!!! Not crowded and very clean. There were also many little shops and restaurants near by. Will definitely visit again soon.

What I love about this beach is that it is so spacious; there is plenty of room to spread out and not be next to anyone else. The sand is white powdery fresh because it was replenished after the hurricanes blew through last year.
There is a boardwalk that has many restaurants that you can eat at. Some have an ocean view like: Eat At Joes, The Ocean and Casa Marina.
The parking is free, but if you go in the busy summertime, then you may want to bring $5.00 for parking in a paid lot because it is difficult to find a spot later in the morning.
There is a pier, but unfortunately it was damaged badly from the hurricanes, so it is no longer in operation.
There are lots of activities at the park with where the main music stage is. They have many festivals, live music, marathons and movies under the stars. For info on events call the special events number...(904) 247-6157.

It's very clean and great waves. The only complaint I have is the parking. Please consider putting more signs at the Pier parking. We got a parking ticket and there was one small sign there that said we had to pay to park there.

This beach is conveniently located near the city and surrounding neighborhoods. You can enjoy a beachside picnic or go to one of the many restaurants and bars in the area that are affordable for most budgets. The Residents in the area are friendly. Their is plenty of available parking.

Nice beach site for hanging out, sunbathing, surfing, walking on the pier or running. Stay off the dunes.

It was a cold day when we visited but it was still beautiful. This beach was well maintained and did not have any trash laying around on it. The pier was busy but since it was spring break that was to be expected. We enjoyed free parking in a lot very close to the where we had lunch on the beach. I would definitely visit this beach again once in the area.

Found parking right by the pier, easy access to beach. Pier is closed. The beach is clean, the water was clear. Very nice beach and so many shops/restaurant’s that are within walking distance.

This is the first visit with the kids and my first visit back in 20 years. This is a very nice beach with plenty of restaurants and shopping close by. Every one had a great time.

You can't go wrong with a visit here if you like beach areas. There are bars, restaurants, shops, bicycle riding, walking and jogging areas, miles of beach and so much more.

We trekked after breakfast up and down the beach. We walked around the pier and down a quarter mile and back. It is a solid pack sand beach with a mostly smooth surface for walking comfortably.

I had never ventured to the beaches in Jacksonville from my coastal Georgia home. I thought it was time to check it out. Was I blown away at the beauty and amenities. A great boardwalk with many restaurants/bars. The beach stretches far with pure white sand and a great surf. Lots of surfers to watch and not too busy. What a gem. I will surely return often.

Do not go to Jacksonville Beach unless you want to be harassed by homeless people begging for money. The beach is nasty if you were pointing your family there's really nothing for families to do other than lay on the beach and play in the ocean which is dirty my advice is either go to Amelia Island or St Augustine.

Good access to public parking and within walking distance to a lot of sights...but there are a lot of homeless folks sleeping on the beach, and hanging out in groups. While I was there, I watched 2 men (looked drunk) fighting, and a homeless woman who said she was an “angel from heaven” come up looking for food.
Once on the beach the sand is nice, and you are pretty much left alone during the week. I’ve never been here on the weekend. Still, good time and good place to take the family surfing and swimming. But keep an eye on your stuff.

Gets better every year. New shops, restaurants and bars seem to increase with every visit. Beautiful beach, pier and boardwalk.

We stayed with our daughter in Jax proper but made a few trips to the N 5th parking were there are public restrooms. They are not great toilets but better than portapotties.
The beach was uncrowded in mid March, mainly because it was a bit cool, but there were people.
The beach is regularly patrolled and we didn't feel there was anything risky about being here.

This was our first trip to Jacksonville beach and it was so relaxing! The beach was clean and there weren't any crowds at all. We chose to go around 7pm when its cooler and to watch the sun set later on. We didn't experience any issues with parking or finding a nice spot to set up our chairs on the beach.

Clean and family oriented. Parking was a bit of a hassle because of closed roads but we managed to find parking nearby. Lots of people out. Clean water and life guards out, visible and on duty.

No crowds, you can run or bike on the sand, or you can make sandcastles...where can you swim 9 months of the year and learn to surf or paddle...or just hang around or go for long walks...I really don't want this beach to be "discovered"...but if you happened to be in Jax, make sure you don't miss it!

Wide beaches that seem to go on forever! Quite an expansive beach. Easy to get to and good arming. If you love the beach Jax Beach is for you!!

We loved the Jax Beach! We weren’t near the boardwalk so maybe the experience is different over there. I kept hearing it was a bad beach, but we stayed out there for 2-3 hours and had a ball. Not a lot of people where we were, and they had convenient parking for just $7! We’ll definitely be back every weekend!

Jax beach is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours during the morning, afternoon, or evening. The beach itself is very clean and peaceful. You can spot a lot of surfers and fishers too, who are always interesting to watch. The surrounding area is full of good spots to eat and drink (shoutout to Lynchs Irish Pub in particular)

This area is clean and quiet. You can spend a whole day here and there’s plenty beach for walking or to just enjoy the water!
Parking might be a challenge.

The beach is clean and level. The surfing is great! We like the area shops too. We enjoy the sunrises and climate!

I walked to/from the beach, but there is a parking lot. No restrictions on where you can walk. Sand is hard-packed, so good for walking/running. The dock is beautiful to see at sunrise. Shells everywhere!

Beautiful beach.. always nice and clean. It can be difficult to find a park, but we usually drive around until we find a decent one. S

My daughter and her Friend surprised me with a trip to Jacksonville Beach Florida for mother's day, we stayed 3 days. I had never been to Florida before. It was so beautiful. We stayed at the Hampton Inn it was very nice and clean and had access to the beach. The beach was so nice and clean. The Ocean was so pretty and serene. We collected sea shells on the beach, I had never did that before. We don't see sea shells in Wisconsin, lol. Ive convinced my husband to come here for our anniversary in September.

Beautiful beaches, to relax, and enjoy.
Great surfing and fishing also.
Had many great times on Jacksonville beach. Dogs are also allowed before 9pm and after 6pm.

There is so much to do in JAx Beach. Plenty of shops and great restaurant. Just park your car and walk everywhere.
The beaches are hugh and very clean. Definitely family friendly. Yous should take supplies to stay the whole day. We were glad we did. Lots of history if you just ask around. Start with Jax beach lifeguard building. After stopping there just ask for more places the local's know about. Best way to get around is by bike or your feet. Great surf fishing also.

We typically go to 37th South beach. Quiet with street parking. The sand is nice and clean and a great spot to find shells and sharks teeth. Jax Beach offers a lot as far as beaches, shopping, restaurants, bars, and live music. Not typically touristy and has the local feel.

Jax Beach is a mixture. North of the five diamond resorts in Ponte Vedra Beach it is a place where all sorts of people live and vacation. Dining goes from fine to fast food. Most major chains are here as are some local favorites. Would recommend Casa Maria (mexican, cheap) and Casa Marina (do lunch on the rooftop restaurant, no elevator all the way tho). Jax beach has a dark side. Be careful after dark about 10pm, there are places near Beach Blvd which look like they should be family friendly (major chains) which are fine in the daytime but later are not so good. There are all sorts of bars and clubs. Try Green Room brewing for a fun evening. Jax Spice is good for Indian Food. The beaches are pretty and get busy and there is still some damage from the hurricane last year. Plenty of public beach parking but it fills in the summer. If you want space, drive 20 miles south on A1A to the Guana reserve and enjoy unspoiled and undeveloped beaches. Or go North, over on the Mayport Ferry and drive up to Talbot Island State Park. Again, unspoiled. Plenty to do and see. If you want to party, that works too. You can survive without a car if you can get there. There is a Trolley and public buses into Jacksonville.

As a whole, JaxBeach is really cool. Plenty of cool shops, things to do activity wise and neat restaurants, local and chain, to satisfy the foodies. Bar scene looks pretty legit, although I’m past my prime so I’m just guessing from the late night activity I saw while walking the dog. We stayed oceanfront and the sunrise never gets old. Love the beach- super wide and packed and level so you can walk, run, bike without issues.
Signs posted tell you dogs are only allowed before 9 and after 5 but plenty of them on the sand in this dog friendly town. Everybody is pretty friendly and the local beach stores have everything you need should you forget some items at home. Look forward to returning- typically stay closer to JU but for a few dollars more the extra miles back to campus is well worth it.

Great beach; wonderful sand, level sand in water: clean, uncrowned ; water was great, could see my feet, no seaweed, water great temperature, stayed at Courtyard a great experience

Great beach with free beach wheel chairs available on a first come basis right at the beach. The life guards were really friendly and helpful. They helped us to get my sister in law in and out of the wheel chair. She loves to get out on the beach, but we can’t usually get a wheel chair where we normally go in SC. Even if we do, we have to have a way to transport it to the beach. At Jax Beach, it’s already at the beach.

Went for the day to chill at the beach. We were able to park right on the beach, then walk 3 minutes to our spot. Not crowded at all, bring all your stuff and park. No problem if you forgot anything, car right there. People brought tables and coolers of food, no bathroom or refreshments , so be prepared.

We have been coming here for years. We love the beaches, food and the area.I highly recommend coming to Jacksonville Beach.

Beautiful beach!! Soft sand, hardly any shells to step on. But there are some to find if you are collecting.

We visited Jacksonville Beach on Friday, May 4. It was beautiful and the weather was great. We took a walk and watched the surfers. We didn't pay to park and we found out as we were leaving that we could have rented chairs. I highly recommend this beach.

We visited during a time of unseasonably cold weather for the area (low 40s) so we did not swim. But my daughter did take off shoes and get her feet wet. We walked a little on the sand and picked up shells. Wave action resulted in really only good scallops and other bivalve shells to be found along with Gastropoda shell fragments.

My family and I went down there had an absolute ball we went to V Pizza and had some of the best wings known to man. The beach is nice but they are doing a dune replenishment right now so not as nice as it could be but at least they're working on it.

Being an Ohioan for many years and dreaming of one day living on the beach, I never knew that Jacksonville Beach would make all of my dreams come true.

I've been coming to Jax Beach for over 25 years, firstly, never had problems with homeless people. It never been crowded, great place to fish, swim, or just hang out on the beach. Its also close to to Mayport Naval base, so sometimes you see Navy ships heading out to sea.

We were in town for work but spent some time walking the beach. Unfortunately the beach was being worked on by the city so it was a mess on the south end but it was clean and lots of places for food and shops.the sand is like powder and just a really nice beach.alot of of places were closed due to off season but i liked it.i do wish they had dog poop stations since dogs are welcome simce i saw people not picking up the poop.

It’s always fun to go see the lights at Christmas time. Jax beach has their own spin on it with “deck the chairs”. They decorate the large orange lifeguard chairs and have them placed all over the boardwalk and beach to give it a festive feel! We love it! I don’t have any pics of it but lots to take pics of!! It’s the “beachy Christmas” time of year!!

The beach is very clean and nice. Fluffy sand and ample shelling opprotunities for the kids. Dogs are allowed too. Fun time!

There are better beaches to visit. Fernandina Beach, Little Talbot Island, Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine.

Can't beat the sand, sun, and water. We enjoyed the day and it's all free. The water temperature is in the 80's perfect for swimming and body surfing.

We did paid parking by the pier. Maybe it was our mistake. Then those restrooms were beyond what I’ve ever seen. Up scale surroundings but that was just a major joke. Find a different spot. I do not recommend.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn on the beach. Quiet area. Direct access to the beach. Not a lot of people on the beach.

Went to Jackson beach had free parking. And just a short walk to the beach. Very nice had life guards on duty. The water was nice and felt great. You can walk a while out in the ocean and still be only chest deep. Not a packed beach. It was a Thursday BTW.

A beach with white and less height of the waves in a long sea shore. Many visitors were took sun bath and sea bath. Both baths are good. The waves are less height and very interesting to immerse ourselves into the sea when waves hit us. On one side main buildings and our activities are being watched by coastal protection staff.

We walked on the beach several times during our visit. The sand is much looser than it is in Daytona Beach, but still comfortable to walk on. The beach has a ton of shells, as well as a lot of washed up jellyfish. Check your shoes and socks for sand before coming back indoors.
Overall, a nice beach to visit.

Soft sand, clean beach. Lifeguards close by. We just moved here from KY and we hit the beach every weekend.

Water was still a bit chilly, but the beach is great. Plenty of room to play and very clean.
Lots of people walking, running and riding bikes.
Everybody was quite friendly.

I stayed at one of the oceanfront hotels, so I decided to walk the beach on a Saturday. I went mid-day and it was such a pleasant beach. There were others enjoying it also, but it is large enough where you don't feel like it's too crowded. The only thing I was surprised to see, was the plastic items that were on the edges of the beach. They have trash and recycling receptacles available, but people just drop them on the sand. It's sad as it will kill our marine animals if it ends up in the ocean.

Beautiful beach. We loved it . Maybe we went a bir early in the season but it was very quiet with not much going on. Very few shops and restaurants in walking distance.

One of the best surfing beaches in North Florida can be found at the Jacksonville Beach Pier. Great sand bars, open surfing allowed year around, you can easily rent equipment, get lessons, or for the more experienced, head to the southside where the waves are best!

We took a stand on the walk way and just looked at the waves of the Atlantic ocean. On the shore were these tiny little birds scooting around and a man fishing, he had 3 poles in the water, we were watching for nibbles as the pole shook, but no big bites to catch anything. For a day in December the sun shown brightly as we watched a flock of eagles fly by as a bunch of white stuff flew down and hit the guys on their jackets, oh no, we all had a good laugh as we wiped their jackets off. So funny, such a good time. We stayed about an hour

We really enjoyed it this incredible beach there are sections to the east where you won’t see a person on the rise in either direction the sand is crystal white the waves are moderate and the views are fantastic. Highly recommended

Visited beach while we were in Jacksonville for Thanksgiving trip. We strolled the beach. Some in the group even got in the water up to their knees. Very nice beach. Love the fine fine sand. We collected some shells. Plan to visit again during beach season.

Ponte Vedra ovens bake pizza more slowly than the Neptue/Jacksonville restaurant…results: Consistently superior pizzas. “Tall Tuesday” & “Thirsty Thursday” offer $1 (Tuesday) & $1.50 (Thursday) beer❗️

This is a very quiet beach compared to Daytona. This beach was only missing vendors and beach chairs from being one of my favorite East coast beaches. The sand was nice, the area was clean and the people were very friendly. We took our high school basketball team and of the 12 that we took it was 5 players first time to see the ocean. Everyone had a great time. I would recommend this beach to anyone, just bring your own beach chair.

Lots of local summer music concerts and great bars to hop. Be careful, there can be homeless life by the pier and sketchy characters. If you have young kids I would take them North to Neptune. However, great scene for young people.

Jacksonville Beach has always been great when we visit. However, during Friday, February, 15, the wind was blowing inland towards the ocean and there was a very foul (horse manure?) type smell that ended our short stay on the beach. I am not sure exactly what it was rather unpleasant.

Jax beach has basically everything for you. You got some awesome places to eat. I love personally flying my drone around as its a great view. The surf is par on some days. The people tend to stay to themselves. Been here for 28 years and haven't had any theft issues on the beach or around. Dogs are allowed after 5PM and no breed restrictions.

Anyone who say this beach is nice is completely blind or crack head as it can get this place is pure dump

Sand between toes, warm enough in April to walk in water. Met family there for a few days at beach. Enjoy the beach and seafood with great ocean views and relaxed walk at beach. Checked out some restaurants and shops, ate lunch.

Great place to spend the day. beautiful beach and nice area. Please check it out......Nice place to walk or sit.

Lots of space on the beach even though there are lots of hotels etc nearby. Cheap chair, umbrella and body/surf board rental.
Sea is rough for swimming but great to play in if you like bigger waves. Had a great time.

I haven't been to Jacksonville beach since I was a child... Revisiting it as an adult I tend to have a very different perspective. As a child I enjoyed playing in the sand and splashing in the water... As an adult I sat in the sand to look out at the ocean and marvelled at God's miraculous handy work. Breathtaking and absolutely beautiful.

great beach and place to stay good food and drinks ,clean beach clear water and white sand will go back again

Beautiful beach with a lot of places to shop plenty of restaurants to choose from. The water looks so beautiful and it's not overcrowded

We spent two nights at the Fairfield Inn and Suites. We loved this motel. The heated outdoor pool and hot tub were excellent. The breakfast was so good with a variety of hot food.Everyone was so friendly. It was a couple minute walk to the beach which was a wonderful, flat beach with good waves and soft white sand.We loved walking to watch the sunrise.

Hard sand to walk on, super clean entry into water; no shells or rocks. Soft area against dunes to lay, as well.

1st time here for me and my bf but it wont be our last. We had a ball. Nice clean beach. Sunrises were amazing.

Just stayed at Four Points on Jacksonville Beach, it was amazing. Had a room full of contractors, they had a very comfortable room, projector was working with a huge screen, worked well.
Had fresh flowers on the tables, meals were done buffet style with a lady named Liz who served them up.

We went to the beach around 5:00 pm. Relaxed there on the beach for awhile then got in the water. Later just sitting there feeling the breeze and watching the sun set was the most relaxed I've been in several years.

Beautiful beach, with super fine bright white sand. Perfect for taking long easy walks as well as bike rides. Closely monitored by life guards, No sea weed on the beach and water is crystal clear.

Our family recently stayed for a three day weekend and we loved every minute of being right on the beach. Patrols were frequent with the lifeguards as well as the Coast Guard flying above a few times a day.
Very clean beach and our boys enjoyed collecting shells each morning.
We stayed several blocks from the pier and this area was just as clean.
Awesome photos if you wake up early enough to catch the sunrise.

Jax Beach is and has always been a great place to visit - so much to do - water activities as well as shopping & dining options galore.
It's also a great place to go sit at the beach and just relax

Went to Jax Beach while in town for a wedding. So relaxing we ended up canceling our hotel reservations and staying at Jacksonville beach and drive to / from wedding 1-1/2 hours away.
White soft sand, very clean and it seemed that there was a large lifeguard presence.

Went to Jacksonville Beach for the Blue Angels. Although there were plenty of people on Saturday and Sunday, two hours after the last show everything was cleaned up, trash was being picked up, and the next morning the beach sand was being combed for debris. They put a lot of work into keeping this area so pristine.

Wonderful beach with numerous free parking sites. Reminds me of how South Beach used to be. Definitely worth a visit. The area is clean and has quaint surf shops.

Jax Beach has a good variety of restaurants and bars along First Street, right next to the beach. The pier is closed to fishing, but surfing around it is still good. Seafood is always available, and most restaurants feature local Mayport shrimp, which really do taste better than the Asian import. The beginning of May is Springin' the Blues, a three day free blues festival with two stages, a great party.

Jax Beach was awesome! It offered chair and umbrella rentals as well which was nice for some of our kids got sunburned and needed some shade. Beach was very clean and was super close to our hotel

Jax Beach has gone from being the roughest part of the beaches to being the most popular. Access is easiest of all the beaches and the proximity of restaurants, clubs and attractions make it the best of the 3. If you are in the Jacksonville area, it is the beach to go to.

I am a bit biased as I live a block from Jacksonville Beach and am a native. The beach is flat and smooth with soft sand and at low tide is very wide. Nice family beach if you go north of the pier several blocks. Pier area is tourists and young people. You can enjoy the peace or take a stroll and hunt for shells.

Nice place to take the children. Not super crowded. You walk along the area with no worries of cars because we only had to cross one street. There a life guard chairs that are decorated to look like different things.

We walked on the beach for miles, unfortunately, the pier was closed for renovation. Very easy parking but this was not summertime, on our way back to the parking we walked on the street parallel to the beach where we saw some nice old houses and nice condominiums.

We were there for Gator Bowl 2020 pep rally. Beach is clean with long sea shore line. Since it is winter and water is cold, we did not venture into water. There are lots of restaurants along the beach. Pep rally was at the pavilion. It was amazingly beautiful at night.

The beach is well kept and really not substantially fidiiferent from the various beaches in the area including those somewhat south of this location. But unlike the beaches to the south, no problem with finding free parking. That is simpl,y not the case with the other beaches.

It’s not a good beach and the restrooms had piss all over the floors. People smoke cigarettes right on the beach near kids so you have that as well. Clearwater beach is 100 times better.oh did I mention weed yeah you will be smelling that the whole day as apparently it’s overlooked in Florida nowadays.

The people are so friendly and nice. Clean and safe for biking along the area and beach. So much variety of good food and drinks,

Its a nice beach, lot of restaurants and bars nearby, this is the most crowded beach in jacksonville.

This was a great beach well taken care of. We enjoyed our time here and hope to go back! There are lifeguards on duty, a great pier, and volleyball courts.

Love the feel of the sand and the beauty of the beach.
The pier is nice and the cool little statues in the center are neat.
There is always something going on on the weekend.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn and this location has direct access to the beach. The beach was clean and beautiful. Lots of people enjoyed Memorial Day weekend on this beach. Was here over 10 years ago, nice memories. Will be back.

We walked down the beach and the weather was great. The tide was alittle high so we got to wet our feet. We found several shark teeth. You have to be vey careful because there are a lot of stingers and if you step on one. You will hate your visit to the beach. We played ball and it was very relaxing!!

I walked along the beach for a bit. The water was nice. I found a few clam shell and oyster shells. There wasn't a lot of people and the weather wasn't too hot.

I’ve never been to Jacksonville Beach before although I’ve been to the area many times. I was pleasantly surprised. The beach was soft white sand, clean, and minimal crowds. Will definitely return.

It has come a long way, but it still needs for restaurants, bars, and shopping. In the end, it is a pleasant surprise for Jax. I just want to see more options and people to bring the place alive. There was a lack of planning, so public parking is not great. You need to stay at a hotel to get the most out of the place.

We walked the boardwalk and then on the sand. Nice leisurely walk with all types of people enjoying their day at the beach. Very clean and plenty of places to eat at on the boardwalk! There were many people surfing! The scenery was beautiful!

Nice clean beach with white powdery sand. Ample free parking other than on holidays when it gets very crowded and best avoided. A few decent bars and restaurants to enjoy near the pier area. Pier closed for repairs from Hurricane Matthew.

Great beaches all around. It is beautiful and although the weather was a little rainy we got some good beach days in. Also pet friendly!!

The pier has great surfing. Be careful the beaches are not that safe. People will take your valuables. There is a lot of homeless people and also ants at the pier area. If you want waves go there is you want pristine beaches go birth or south.

Uncrowded, flat and free parking. Parking easy to find, and several access points. Didn't really explore, but would if i had more time.

Although the pier isn't what it used to be, JAX Beach is still a nice experience when it isn't crowded. You get a nice morning sunrise until right before 10 AM, weather permitting.

The beach was great, I've only been to the Gulf beach, so this was a great treat to us. We had been at the Mayo Clinic it was very stressful all with all the test. When we got back to the hotel we were very upset and going to the beach put us at peace.

Very nice beach option. Not crowded at all - of course, we went in October - but I was impressed at the boardwalk, the cleanliness of the area, and the great white sand at the beach.

This is another good beach area near Atlantic Beach and both areas areas are good to visit for families like us who enjoy the beach. Certain times of the year like most beach areas around this area, it can be crowded and hard to find parking. Other times of the year, it's not as bad. Also, some neat shops in the area as well.

The beach was incredible as the sand was very soft and smooth. There was no trash on the beach and the entrance to the water was a very small incline. Really easy on my old knees and ankles!

Free parking and beach entrance Monday through Thursday. Nice soft sandy beach. Fishing off the pier. We visited on a super hot day, and wished we had brought beach chairs and an umbrella. There’s a Dollar General store right down the street where they sell everything you might need for your beach time! There are few shops but lots of restaurants and bars nearby. I’d say it’s a family beach, but for the many bars within walking distance. No boardwalk, but sidewalks to some of the restaurants.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the beach, it was clean and not to crowded, lots of fun shops and excellent resturaunts

This beach is popular with the college kids. Is has nice long an wide shore lines. easy access. loads of fun. kite surfing out.

Jacksonville Beach is a fun place to go with friends. The sand is pretty and water is nice, can be a little crowded sometimes but overall a good beach!

Went last night and was pleasantly surprised! It was lifeguard chairs decorated by different sponsors. It was great seeing the different decorations under a full moon too. Prior to this event, we grabbed some warm mini donuts from “Mini Bar Donuts” with a warm Chai Tea..the donuts are made to order.

We moved here because they offer so much from the beautiful beaches, bars, restaurants , military facilities , Mayo Clinic, and much more! We love the change of the weather seasons too!

This beach as soft sand and walking the shore line the sand is harder but easier to walk. They are building a pier that has some blockage but the walk ways along the dunes are wide and paved.

Love ❤️ this Beach. Dogs are allowed until 9 am and after 5 pm. People are so friendly. Great way to relax or walk the beach. Showers and public bathroom are a huge plus.

The beach is beautiful and clean. It has not been completed taken over by restaurants and hotels. There are lots of activities for singles, couples, and families in the area.

Plenty of places to eat and great beach locations to enjoy the Ocean. People around if you need but not as crowded as Daytona. Less tourist and more local and State visitors with Canadians and Buckeyes mixed in. Good hotels and fair prices too if needed. Enjoy

Jacksonville beach is very nice and relaxing. The wide sandy beach is really nice and relaxing. Not a whole lot of cookie cutter tourist shops to take away from the beauty of the area

The pier is closed because it was under construction. Most restaurants were closed. The beach is nice. We enjoyed walking by the surf.

This beach was fun, easy to access from our rental house up the street, clean and we had a nice visit.

I work in and around Jacksonville Beaches, there's a lot of great things about the Jacksonville beaches area, but, The city of Jacksonville Beach needs to do a lot of cleaning up and address the homeless situation.

Easy to get to, great chair & umbrella rentals if you came unprepared! We brought some board floats for the teens, thank goodness because it is stronger waves than we were used to. Nice time

This beach is my favorite because it is very wide for walking , windsurf or cycling. has near good restaurants, bars and hotels. The sunset looks amazing.

Nice sandy beach that is very clean. The hotel we stayed at was next to the beach which was very convenient. The beach doesn't get too crowded.

The beach is beautiful, pristine and clean! There are a lot of sea shells for the collector! The sand is powdery and soft. We enjoyed walking along the shore, and swimming in the ocean. The beach was never crowded.

Free parking. Free beach. Easy access. Very easy to get to a nice beach. The beach is wide and clean, there is a fishing pier about half way down, many restaurants and bars. Spend the buck and take a walk on the pier for s nice view.

Feb 28 but a nice day and easy to find and easy to park (for free) and simply walked the beach for an hour. Not at all busy but surfers and volleyball players of ability to add to the scene.

The beach is clean. It cost $1 per person to walk out onto the pier where you can see the beach shore for miles. The very end of the pier is closed due to construction. The boardwalk looks like a ghost town. Some buildings are vacant and boarded up. The only places open for business in the boardwalk area seemed to be bar related. There is beach shop with the usual beach towels, shirts, etc.

I came for a quick weekend with my kids, and it was ok. Several restaurants nearby to eat or drink! Too bad the weather wasn't that good!

Jacksonville Beach was incorporated in 1907 as Pablo Beach, later in 1925 changing it to its present name. Beautiful place.

We come here at least three a year! This place Rocks! We have stayed in hotels and rentals and have enjoyed every visit. Yes it gets hottt! Suggesting you rent a scooter/golf cart, grab some libation and come to relax, eat and have some fun....DO NOT FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES!

Went today and had a great day. Perfect weather, warm ocean water and not too crowded at all. Makes for a nice day coupled with many good lunch choices nearby.
Always like finding the purplish/reddish scallop shells here.

I usually access the beach at the Oceanfront park at 6th Ave. S. and 1st. Street. They have ample parking, clean restrooms and a park area with some picnic tables and grassy areas. The dunes are nicely recovering from Hurricane Matthew. A great area to relax, do some meditation, or go for a long walk on the beach.

Took a morning walk. Nice crowd walking with me on the soft sand beach. Nice and wide plenty of space but way too cold for swimming.

We love the excellent parking, easy walk and huge beach. Always nice people, good mix of family’s, singles, friends. Very clean.

My Aunt and her three grandkids come to visit this summer...they were impressed with the sand, the dunes, the waves, all the beauty that the beach provides. They were excited to find shells and I explained about sharks teeth and jelly fish...they collected a cup of sand to make a scene in a clear vase like I have in my bathroom - they built sand castles and moats - it was fun-filled sunny day - and pretty hot, so we visited the souveniors shops too! Restrooms were accessible, along with places to get food & beverage.

I had a great time! It was a nice warm day and a nice atmosphere! There were people grilling in one section in which I have never seen that before but I guess it is safe and acceptable. There were restaurants nearby to walk to and shops. Parking just like anywhere is always a struggle but once you are in you better stay or walk until you are ready to leave the area.

Although a nice beach it didn't really wow me. It is no different than may other beaches up and down the east coast. Really not much to do when you get tired of the beach.

Jax Beach is a very nice beach. They allow dogs before 9 or after 5. Parking is ok every where except pier. and dinner time can be a troublesome for parking. The beach is clean, white sand and wide.

This is a nice beach, accessible to many stores, shops, restaurants, even to get to down town. It’s clean, friendly, and offers a great family outing area.

Had a chance to stay right on the Ocean. Beach and Surf was beautiful. There is also a city sponsored sidewalk along the Beach that is great for walking parallel to the Beach if you don't have beach/sand shoes with you. Impressive and highly recommended as a Florida beach destination

Getting ready to move to the area and wanted to see the beach. I was not impressed with this beach and got eaten alive from no see ums. I hope it's not like this year round.

The beach at low tide is nice and wide and offers nice shelling opportunities. There were several access points making it possible to walk a while, then pop off for some tea or coffee, then come back.

First beach I have ever been to that have folks living on it! Or at least first beach I have ever noticed - they get run off the beach early (I was up for sunset).

This was such a private sweet beach. The rain made it even better. The water was warm and the beach was very clean. Someone was picking up trash all the time. This is now a fav of ours

We took a last minute trip to the beach and it was a beautiful spot. The beach was huge, there was plenty of free parking, and bathrooms. The bathrooms weren’t exactly clean but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen clean public bathrooms at the beach. We would definitely visit again!

The beach was very clean, the site was beautiful. I had never seen the ocean before so this was a mesmerizing experience

Atlantic Ocean vista with a very wide beach and very interesting mix of people. Walked a bit after dinner. Not many shells but great place to relax and people watch. No camping or sleeping over nite on the beach. Moon bathing is not allowed.

Beach overall was nice and clean. I did notice a lot of people smoking on the beach which I fear the butts were not disposed if properly. Overall nice though

Early morning runs along Jax beach are always spectacular. It is extra special spotting dolphins in the surf. Generally the beach is clean, but on occasion, I have noticed trash near the main beach entrance/pier area, which has been left from the afternoon/evening before.

I love coming here early in the morning to watch the sun rise or walk late at night. During the day it is so hot and I am not a fan of darker ocean water - like to see what's around me since I have seen several sharks in the water. Love Jax Beach and feel so blessed to live near it.

Out traveling with family found a nice campground beautiful beach and clean not to crowded where we went

It was a little chilly the day we visited, but the walk up the beach and people watching was great! The beach was whiter, wider and sand was softer than I expected. Lots of different groups of people on the beach, all just doing their own thing. Would be happy to return and spend more time.

This is a beach and a town. It's interesting how sand dunes make the beach feel remote, but a couple hundred yards from the water there is a lot of restaurants, bars, shops etc. Yes, there are homeless people, but I had no problems with them. The water in the end of November was in low 70s - so it's ok to dip your toes, but probably too cold to swim.

Visited Jax Beach and found it to be a great get away! Stayed right on the strip and enjoyed a multitude of bars and restaurants with in walking distance. The weather couldn't have been any better. Going again in late October and looking forward to it!

Beach is nice but the pier is still half closed two years after it was damaged. I heard that when the city "stole" it from the lady who owned it previously, they gave her 30 days to fix it up or lose it to the city. Now they take over 2 years to replace planks that blew off? Ridiculous!

Clean beach that stretches for miles. Large area for relaxing and wasn't crowded at all at any time even though there were a lot of people about. Hard packed sand close to the waters edge so you can ride beach cruisers here and run. People out and about surfing, paddling, swimming, biking, running, doing yoga etc. Great place for sunsets. Just a lack of restroom facilities - hard to come by.
Plenty if restaurants on the boardwalk behind the dunes - close but hidden from sight. A short bike ride to many other restaurants.

What a fun place. Not overpriced by today’s standards Plenty of shade and many fun rides for all ages. Clean and free parking the lines were not long for a weekend and kids will love the wave pool and teenagers will love the thrill rides. Nice find on Jacksonville beach

Beautiful white sand beach. Not crowded at all. Water so calm and clear! We enjoyed our time there. Beach chair and umbrella rental available.

Jacksonville beach simply one of the best in the world. Many hotels "on the beach" affordable and well maintained...
Music and seafood festivals near the amphitheatre are awesome.
Be prepared to walk when the festival's are here most main beach roads are blocked for cars but open for golf carts and bicycles.
Free parking can still be had...

It was January and a bit cold but the beach was still a great place for a walk as the weather was breezy but not raining.

Not as nice as clearwater not white sand and blue water but still and nice long beach to take walks etc.

decided to stay near this beach and woke up to a beautiful sunrise. lots of parking and public facilities. really liked that this beach isnt as crazy as the gulf side. going to have to come back here again

I thought the beach was beautiful. Many years ago, when last at this beach, it did not look like this. It was good to see the spring break students and families enjoying and respecting the spaces on the beach. We had a wonderful time just lying there and taking on the suns rays and reading. Water was too cold for me, but the beach was a great get-away for us all and it's free. Restrooms were quite a distance to walk to, but were clean and in my opinion well maintained. People changed from their street clothes into their beach clothes there and visa versa, but still left other units available to use when needed (and not a long wait). We were lucky and found free parking close to the beach entrance for carrying our cooler and beach items, but the distance to the restrooms were a walk. Fun place and friendly people all during our visit.

The beach was very clean, the waters off Jacksonville are not the clearest, but very nice. They offer chairs and umbrellas at a good price for the full day.

If you are in to: bike riding, surfing, sunbathing, shell collecting, Bocce Ball, Frisbee, fishing, people watching and having fun, then Jax Beach is for you. Flat hard sand makes it easy to go for an amazing bike ride down the beach. Shark tooth hunting is a short bike ride away in Ponte Vedra Beach. Viewing the luxuriously built mansions from the beach while riding a bike is a must see. Rent an electric bike for an easier ride.

Jax beach is always a good place for us to travel for a quick vacation. There are a number of restaurants, bars and oceanfront hotels in the area. During our stay, the boardwalk and beach remained clean. The beach is full of activity from surfers, volleyball players and travelers.

Beautiful wide beach!! Water was warm and clear, no seaweed. Not too crowded, room to spread out! Love it here!!

Came to town as a little get a way, specifically since we've spent so much time at home lately. Always a nice time on the beach, even in the midst of COVID-19; would have been nice if EVERYONE was mindful of social distancing. However, was able to find an area that wasn't crowded/surrounded by lots of folks; enjoyed just being out on the beach, looking over the water and taking in the beautiful sky.

So glad we came over here for a brewery. The East Coast beaches are so very different from those in PINELLAS COUNTY. Ed Jacksonville Beach is really surprising because it doesn’t feel like even other East Coast Florida beaches. It’s long and white and kind of has a 1950s feel to the surrounding encroachment of businesses. Where I had thought it was going to be sleazy, like New Jersey or manic, like Miami it is not any of those things ! I could see enjoying staying near there simply to be by the beach and the noise of the ocean. For Jacksonville to have something this nice as a relief valve for the pressure of living in Florida’s largest city, well hats off to city planners. If you’re in Jacksonville, you really swing by.

We visited Jacksonville Beach for Spring Break. We went to the beach around 6:30pm on a Friday. There was a lot of people out enjoying the weather but there was also a calmness present on the beach! The scenery was breathtaking! We took tons of pics. Also at night it’s extremely relaxing go for a stroll.

We spent two days staying at a hotel on the beach near the pier. Great beach for asking or bike riding as there are long flat.areas of hard packed sand. Surf was extra fun with a boogey board. Grandson had never done it before but had a great time and came out of the surf with a big smile, especially after his dad got wiped out.

Please NOTE: there are many places to enter Jacksonville Beach, but this review is specifically about the area where we spent our time.
We entered through the beach access at Ocean Front S & 16th Ave S. There was free parking available right next to the beach, in between two condo communities. This area is also the location of a lifeguard tower. So, in all, this was the perfect spot to unload a family of six (including four small children) and have a great day! The only thing missing was a bathroom, but we weren't necessarily looking for a beach spot with one (even though we typically do).
The quality of the beach is excellent. The sands are white, and I don't think I saw a single piece of trash anywhere. There was plenty of room for lots of people to be there, but not feel cramped. As for the water itself, as I assume it is with most Florida beaches, it was clear and warm. The waves and undertow were a bit rough today, but they do a good job of putting flags out to let people know the conditions.
Also, a random (but hopefully helpful) thought: If you're gonna dig in the dirt and make sand castles, do yourself a favor and go buy a $10 gardening shovel (about 18-24 inches long) from Walmart or a hardware store. Everyone will have a much better experience. We got tired of breaking those cheap, plastic shovels that come with the buckets. After we switched a few years back, we've never gone to the beach without one.
I've heard a lot of good things about Jacksonville area beaches, and our experience today lived up to the hype! We would happily come back.

We live to come here for a mini vacation and enjoy the pier, the white sand, the sunrises and sunsets! It is our favorite of all in the area!

We enjoy our two days get away. Spend whole day at the beach. We enjoy the sun all day. We walked to the pier.$1 entrance fee by the way.

We took an Uber from downtown Jacksonville. It was a cool short ride approximately 35 minutes. The beach was beautiful. The ocean front was close and not a long walk. As me and my family stroll down the ocean front, we found interesting sea things.

We really enjoyed all the redevelopment efforts. The area is very clean and cheerful, with many hotels, fun restaurants, and shops within easy walking distance. The beach is very accessible. Lots to do and see.

I love the info structure that surrounds this beautiful beach. There are off beach parking areas - then a quick walk onto walking paths with shops and restaurants - then the ocean.

plenty of soft sand beaches for miles...beautiful sunrises...walking distance to lots of local night life and hotels

Beautiful and clean beach but not my favorite. I don’t feel safe walking at dusk or dawn. I visit this beach 5-8 times a year for work. It has improved but still not a place I’d choose to visit on vacation.

Awesome! Went to visit my son stationed at Mayport and really enjoyed the beaches and food. Very bike friendly.

My Favourite Beach on my stay in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Beach was long and Beautiful. I visited for an hour and stayed 4 hours.
I had a lovely walk uptown Ponte Vedra Beach and back; some 16 kms. The beach is wonderful to walk on, especially by the shoreline. White sand, unspoilt and clean. what more can I say. I will return.
A really special place for me!:)

We had a beachside rental which was perfect. The beach is clean and well patrolled on the weekends by lifeguards and police. This a great beach for everyone - families, couples, or just friends. The water was warm and the waves good for boogie boards, paddle boards, and kayaks. Lots of beachside places to stop for a T-shirt or a drink.

We recently spent a week at J-ville Beach. The beach is extensive and very inviting. We didn't have too many people but I expect it will be very crowded in the next few months. The beach is very well-maintained and clean. I would not hesitate to go back!

Jacksonville Beach has a super chill vibe, perfect for escaping the city buzz.
Jacksonville Beach offers a blend of relaxation and recreation. The wide sandy beach is ideal for sunbathing, beach volleyball, or building sandcastles. Surfing is popular, with several surf shops offering lessons and rentals. The Jacksonville Beach Pier is a major attraction, providing stunning ocean views and fishing opportunities.
Beyond the beach, you'll find a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. The area hosts numerous events and festivals throughout the year. It's a vibrant community with a friendly atmosphere, perfect for a day trip or an extended vacation.
Whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation, Jacksonville Beach has something for everyone. Enjoy the sun, surf, and the laid-back coastal lifestyle.

Jacksonville Beach is a great beach experience. The beaches are easy to access, not over crowded and they are well maintained. I love the downtown area. Everything is walk-able and the vibe is fun and relaxed.

Nice beach. White sand. Nice shells. But beware of sketchy characters on the boardwalk, in the park area and in parking lots. Some are homeless and some are looking for an opportunity to perhaps commit a crime. Too bad so many of them, but still nice beach.

This was my 1st time in Jax (I usually go to the gulf coast), and I was pleasantly surprised at how chill Jax beach is. Less crowds and spring breakers, family friendly, and clean! Plenty of Cafe's and shops to stroll through too. Can't wait to come back!

Had visitors in town and took them to Joe's and walked the boardwalk before dinner on a Saturday night. Terrible. So many shops boarded up and just a total rundown feeling about the whole place. The pier is under repair due to a weather damage. You can walk out on it up to a certain point.

It’s a beautiful beach. Very wide at low tide. Very clean too. Dogs are allowed at any time Oct through March. Our dog loved this beach. Too bad leash is required (Hilton Head beaches don’t require them this time of the year). This beach is great for long walks/runs.

I enjoy my trip from Ocala to Jacksonville beaches and was a almost an unforgettable one, If you go by the A1A you will enjoy the perfection of homes close to the shores, Once you arrive to jax beaches go to the main beach that have the boardwalk, Everyone its nice and you aren’t see people that make you uncomfortable,I recommend this place with my heart.

Beach clean and lots of room to plant your umbrella. For wheel drive access to the beach. Convenient bathrooms. Life guards on duty. Publix supermarket very close by, (3 blocks )for economical foods to take to beach

This small town has a great vibe. There is more to do than you might think. From the free air show to Springing the Blues. The beaches, restaurants, and shops, it is a great place.

Big wide open beach. Lots of sand. Lots of nearby restaurants and activities. Great golf nearby as well.

We were visiting friends just for the holiday weekend, loved being able to walk on the beach. Got to see the deck the chairs. The weather was amazing very blessed for a great weekend

Nice beach to visit while being in Jacksonville. It’s clean and this time they had some great sculptures out in the sand. Was a great time on the beach.

JB is a perfect balance of conveniences, small SEASIDE community, well balanced with many 2nd and 3rd Generations leaving here now. Boutiques Shops abound, Doctors, Hospital, Fine Dinning, even Adventureland a pettite park with Mini Golf, Go Karts, and a water park. The Marinas also provide choices for family waterfront dinning. After all most people passing thru Jacksonville on I95 miss us by about 15nm, we do not want to grow too fast.

Lovely spacious beach with white sand and good free parking and access along it. Great waves and possibility to hire parasols, body boards etc we hired a canopy for the day at $30 (this was near the life guard tower area/joes crab shack). They also hire body boards for $10 for 3 hours which was cool for our teenagers.

This area seems to only really cater to the locals. More parking is needed and if paying for parking is required then they need to put out more signs. Beach is clean along the shore but the water itself isn't as pretty as others. Plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby for your convenience. Would I visit the beach again anytime soon? No.

My daughter and I decided to take the grand kids to the beach and it started raining but we went away. I enjoyed it but my kids love it and want to return tomorrow instead of shopping big choice to make.

I now have been to both oceans on the coast and Jacksonville Beach is by far one of the best I have ever been on. It was very clean, uncrowded and lots of shells to pick up. They are rebuilding the pier that was damaged from the last hurricane, so was not able to go out on the pier. Lots of people walking, running and surfing at the beach, it was a very relaxing day at the beach. I cannot wait to go back.

The beach here is miles long ( maybe 40 miles) beginning at Hanna Park and ending near St Augustine. Its the same beautiful beach the whole way, though it gets residential and much less crowded south of Ponte Vedra. This review encompasses about 7 miles of beach adjacent to the city of Jacksonville Beach. The beach is wide and clean, there is a fishing pier about half way down, many restaurants and bars, a nice boardwalk(actually its concrete), Life guards are present during the mid day in summer, There is a park with occasional entertainment (consult the city). Condos and hotels dot the coast, but not the huge buildings so common elsewhere. Ease of parking depends on when you go. Generally no problem on weekdays, get there before 9:30 on summer weekends or be prepared to pay ($5 , I think) or walk a few blocks. It's only a hassle on major events like airshows or 4th of July. Restrictions on alcohol and dogs. The bars get going late at night and there have been some incidents after about 11 pm.

This is one of my favorite spots in Florida. The temp was 45 and windy when we visited, so we were joined by less than a dozen people on the beach as far as the eye can see. The colors and light are always amazing. And it’s peaceful here... wind notwithstanding. Definitely no swimming for us in January. Maybe in a few months.

We enjoy walking our dog along the beach and the boardwalk. Always nice watching people on bicycles and walking at the beach. Parking lots are available.

We had a good day at the beach on our trip to Jacksonville. The only down fall was noted towards the end of the day it seemed like the homeless were out in full force. it was a turn off because you don't typically carry money with you to the beach and we were asked three different times for a hand out!! it is scary because you don't know how someone is going to react when they don't get what they want.

This Beach is a fun place to observe nature and people. I just relax and let the waves wash over me.

There’s lots of restaurants, bars, and shops along the boardwalk area at Jacksonville beach all in walking distance. If you like to fish there’s a big pier. Also, the pavilion at the beach always has some type of event or festival going on. It’s a fun area. This pavilion hosts one of the largest free outdoor music festivals in the SE. The beach hasn’t been over-crowded, but it is only March. Not a lot of clean public restrooms available though.

Went to the beach yesterday with my son. Not very crowded, water was warm, the beach was clean. 2 and 4 ft waves were coming in it was awesome. Enjoyed our day and got sunburned.

This is a nice wide, well-maintained beach but sometimes it gets too full or with an unpleasant atmosphere at times. But this week we walked it at sunrise and it was beautiful and the atmosphere was nice, with lots of people walking and running, felt very safe and pleasant.

Beautiful. The Beach is very clean. Lots of Beach so plenty of room to spread out. There are lifeguards on site paying close attention to those in the water.

We go there as much as possible. Most of the beach is very family oriented, depending on your interests you will find the perfect spot for you. Closer to the pier is better for surfing. The kitesurfers frequently put up a show during the sea breeze. Early morning the SUP is just fantastic. Plenty of lifeguards to keep an eye on the crowd. There are several good restaurants ( simple, fine dining, breakfast and coffee shops ) around.

We loved Jacksonville Beach! It is clean and not over crowded. The water is warm and we had a pleasant relaxing time. The surrounding area, with parks, small stores, restaurants etc were clean and friendly, food was excellent. This was our first trip, plan to go back as much as possible.

i love jax beach, but it’s a little skanky. if you go with the proper expectation (i.e. a simple fun day at the beach to surf or just hang out), you’ll have a great day. it wouldn’t be great for a week long family vacation. also fun for 20 early 30s for socializing. decent bar scene (but also a little skanky). the surrounding beaches though are much more upscale/nice...atlantic beach and neptune beach.
great for a jog.

Jacksonville beach is a wonderful place for relaxation. Also great restaurants along the beach walk.

Decent access points, not over crowded. But, the beaches in St Augustine are better. Keep going down I 95 South a bit is my advice.

The beach was pretty clean. Also even though there were a lot of people, it wasn't crowded. We were able to find parking easily

I visited briefly on an unseasonable cold day. The beach front had more parking than other beaches I've visited, and it was free. It looked like a convenient and great place to spend the day!

Great sand and easy to find place to park during week maybe not so much on weekends. Places to rent cabana type things for spending all day at the beach.

I love Jacksonville Beach it's so much fun, lots to do.beautiful scenery, large long shoreline. Anyone who disagrees is.just negative or a competing beach seriously. The restaurants and bars are great! We love Hoptinger and Oku Sushi. The Jacksonville beach pier is amazing. They have lots of activities and concerts on the beach. I've traveled back and forth to Jacksonville Florida for years and Jacksonville Beach has really evolved into a really happening place. I like places with people and lots to do.
People talk about Atlantic and Micklers Beach hiwntheyre great and they are to but I think Jacksonville Beach is the best. It's an underrated gem.

Blue water and great beach!!Not as crowed as some might think!!Great place to go chill out!! Life guards on duty just a really nice beach-bring a chair or blanket and have a great time chasing waves!!

JAX Beach is a wonderful beach area. There are wide expanses of beach area and it is very uncrowded. The city has lots of parking available. There are many bars and restaurants walkable.

Not much to say. White sand. Reminds me of South Jersey without the boardwalk. Free parking. Free beach. Easy access. Just a shocker. But very easy to get to a nice beach.

Love the many FREE places to park. Easy breezy at 10am- very little traffic and can get the best space on the beach which quickly warmed up. Many places to eat and enjoy hours on the beach.
The beach was very clean with helpful tentative life guards on duty. I felt comfortable allowing my 17 & 7year old to roam while I relaxed.

We were there at night and even though it was hard to see it was so cool to see how far out the ocean was when the tide was low we can walk what seemed to be forever added to the ocean before the water was touchable it was beautiful

One of the best parts of the beach is being able to bring your dog. Our dog is afraid of the waves, but has fun on the beach.

My grandparents use to live in Orlando so I would go to Clear water or Daytona beach. But I must say I really loved this beach not too crowded, pretty much clean. This was my first time at Jacksonville Beach and I think I’ll return one day!

It was amazing visit and a quick stop on our way back from a great meal to our hotel when I decided to check out the beach. It was a clear night, high tide and a full "Super" Moon. Wife and I only went out so far because of the high surf and cold temperatures. We weren't prepared to stay long. But were glad we took the time to visit.

Loved it here. It is not overcrowded. Clean beach! Great for a family vacation. If you are tired of the young people running in front of you and throwing frisbees this is the place for you. Yes there are still people having fun but there is enough room for everyone to enjoy and not overcrowded so you are able to enjoy yourself!

We stopped here on a cold day in March on a drive up the coast. We had visited once before 2 years prior and had hoped the pier was now open.
Not only was the pier not open we found many restaurants on the water either closed for lunch or closed permanently. I am sure in warmer months it is busier.
We parked in a public lot and headed over to the beach. We found it to be very clean and well maintained. There were a few flying kites but mostly it was people like us, bundled up taking a walk in a beautiful spot. But this beach is clearly much loved as even on thos cold day there were lots of people out enjoying the crashing waves.
The beach is huge with so many entrances that even when busy, I cannot imagine not being able to find a spot to enjoy the day. Parking may be another story though as most of the beach area is lined with shops that have just a few parking spots noted as no beach parking. So plan for a bit of a walk, just in case.
Maybe next time we will be able to bring the boogie boards and enjoy the water!

We’ve been to many beaches and this one was not a disappointment. Great sand and just the right size crowds. A mostly dog friendly location it fit the want we had. There are locations nearby for great food and beverages and still managed a great vibe no matter where we walked.

Not overcrowded, that's a plus for me. I'm loving my time at the beach. There is a variety of restaurants to choose from as well. Definitely coming back💜

Went with my friend for her birthday. It was very windy that day so sand ended up everywhere. The water was clean and warm but we ended up going back to the hotel.

We visited here on a Sunday morning in Sept but the temperature was already 86 at 8.30am. There is plenty of parking (some free on a Sunday til 10am) within a two minute walk of the beach. Once you get onto the sand the views are amazing with sizeable waves crashing onto the shore - good enough for light surfing and wave boarding but also easy enough to stand or swim (close to shore).
The sand is clean and it wasn’t busy when we visited - but there is lots of space so I would guess it would get overcrowded. Nice shops, bars and restaurants nearby too.

Pet friendly beach that is clean and nice. Can't wait to come back in the summer. Also great for bike riding and surfing.

We had a blast going to Jacksonville Beach for the 4th of July! The fireworks were amazing, it’s just too bad a storm blew in just before the show on the beach area.
I like that they have showers at the beach entrances so you can wash off before leaving. I just wished that it wasn’t so crowded and such a party vibe atmosphere. But I do love this beach for sure.

Nice family oriented beach with lots of nice restaurants in the area I always enjoy this beach the water is always perfect

The beach was very nice, we had only one day to spend here. You can rent chairs in front of the Landshark grill. I would recommend checking out the Sky, Sun, Sand & Sea and do some people watching at JAX beach. My regret is holding back from celebrating at the beach during the day to celebrate more in the evening.

My son and I go constantly and it is beautiful any time of year. It is an amazing view and plenty of things to do. Small and privately owned businesses. You can park and walk down safe streets with no incidents. Everything you need to enjoy your day at the beach.

We usually walk the beach in Ponte Vedra Beach but because Micklers Landing is closed for renourishment we ventured up to Jacksonville Beach (which we did several times last year. Beach is very wide, especially at low tide and is nice and clean, especially after they did some beach renourishment after last year's hurricane. Pleasant walking conditions with pleasant views of the ocean and beachside condos/homes.

Neptune Beach has gone nuts with charging for its parking. Some how the city officials want to destroy the small retailers that make this area so charming . We have lived near the beach for 8 years and feel this is very short- sighted!!

Beautiful beach with occasional lifeguards. Very good access points, but limited parking on busy/nice days. Jacksonville Beach is far superior to neighboring PONTE VEDRA and ATLANTIC BEACH -- VERY unfriendly places!

Our sand isn’t as white, but The Atlantic Ocean beats the gulf water every time.
This beach is over 3 miles long and has recovered from the Hurricane’s of the past 3 years and is abutted to miles of equally beautiful beaches on its north and south. Bring an umbrella (or rent one) because there is no shade. Rental items are available at 3 or 4 points but there are few places to eat except for the central 1/4 mile area near the life guard station. Portal potties are located at only 3 or 4 points.

It is a nice beach, I found the crowd to be a bit younger. There are many bars and restaurants in this area. I prefer to travel a bit north to Atlantic beach.

We walked the beach on our day trip to the area. Lots of families enjoying outdoor beach activities. The beach was clean and there were lifeguards on duty. We did not smell any pot smoking and that’s why it got 5 stars. Parking may be a challenge but persistence pays off.

The water looked clear and the beach was clean. The sand was fine-grained and light in color, with many small shells to collect. We enjoyed walking the pier to watch the surfers, the birds, people fishing and the pretty waves.

We love Jax Beach! The way they have everything laid out where you can easily park, access the beach, they provide lots of public facilities and you can walk to all the nearby restaurants is awesome!

If you like waves, this is the beach for you. Good for surfing. Great place to hang out. Play volleyball on the sand courts. Nice restaurants and live entertainment.

Love that there are bars right on the beach you can walk up into. Very cool to walk up and hangout! Bar will accept younger children but it’d be best without them

We went there during the Sea and Sky Air Show by the Blue Angels. The beach is full of people. I just loved the atmosphere when we got there.

Big white sand beach without the overwhelming crowds in other parts of Florida. Decent restaurants around that won’t break the bank. Spend the buck and take a walk on the pier for s nice view.

I had such a tremendous time with my family here. We stayed at the Crown plaza on airport road. Amazing shopping and restaurants. The beach was very beautiful. can't wait to go back.

This was not my first visit to Jacksonville nor will be my last. Beautiful white sand beaches and small little beach towns. We particularly like the Neptune Beach downtown area for dining.

Jacksonville Beach is a nice place to hang out wtih family and
friends, catch a few waves and walk around. The pier is the focal
point in the area. They are slow on repairing the pier, it still needs
a little work since Hurricane Matthew did it's damage in 2016.

Overall the time spent was great. There was a small stream formed as tide was going out which allowed smaller children to play while parents rested and caught some rays.

We found a space to park and went for a walk. The sand is so soft. The beach is very wide, with plenty of room for everyone. You can walk for miles. The beach was clean. I loved it!

Jacksonville Beach is a beautiful & clean beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach after 5pm but at anytime just a little North at Atlantic beach. Lota of places to rent beach toys around the area.

I took a solo vacation six years ago, and somewhat randomly ended up in Jacksonville Beach. I’ve been back every year since. I adore this place. 💙

It’s a nice beach. Less crowded. Kids can run and play. We enjoyed a beautiful evening here . Though the only issue was restrooms were closed after 7 pm . Its summer so there’s still sunlight until 8.30pm and beaches are enjoyable with kids till then .

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, sun and surf. Outstanding place for family fun. Great restaurants nearby.

Was here for 2 weeks and I absolutely loved the beach area. The waves were high but extremely fun for my young son to play in. Here peaceful and clean

Fun visit as a couple and as a work trip. Would highly recommend this place as a great place for food and hang out.

Love coming here with my husband and hanging out at the beach and going for long walks. Staying at a motel/hotel in the beach means we wake up to a sea view and a balcony to sit out on. There are plenty of restaurants and sports bars and all within walking distance. The beach has gone through a lot of changes with developments nearby and the beach gets built back up periodically from direct hurricane impacts. It is literally miles of beach looking up and down. Love it.

Excellent wave action for surfers and body survers, but, I prefer the Caribbean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean because I like to snorkel and dive. Beaches are kept reasonably clean by the hotel staff.

Jacksonville beach is not a place to hangout especially during months Oct - Feb. Though you can enjoy the annual Air Show, which held at some time in month of November.

This particular location of beach is perfect for walking with a loved one, playing with your kids, or clearing your mind. With the pier nearby it also interesting to watch locals fish and see the variety of fish being caught.

As a long time Floridian, I can say this is a very nice beach. Lots of parking available now. Please be aware of the rip current status and safety during your visit, especially if you are bringing kids.

Came down to get away from the same old while forced to work from home. Covid-19 🤪. Great people. Smart people , caring, dog friendly. Not as many restaurant options as Id expected. Found a few best of the beaches check out miss you reviews. Family friendly, affordable and OPEN!!!!!

Beach is beautiful and expansive. Public parking is rather limited unless you are a hotel or condo rental guest. Beach chairs w/umbrella rentals are available by the hour or for the day. Plenty of good shopping and dining options.

The beach is big. Sand is soft at dry part and hard by the water. Great for walking, running, and fishing. And swimming in summer time. Now water is still too cold. Especially, the beach is only open after 5pm due to Covid.

Enjoyed the beach right behind our hotel. The beach is wide and clean. It was a beautiful view and enjoyed watching the surfers. Definitely check it out if your in the area.

Small town but great place to enjoy the water. Beautiful sunrises on the beach and sunsets on the intracoastal marshes. No crowds on the beach in the winter and city now allows dogs to be walked on leash during the cooler season. Surf fishing and pier fishing available and surfers turn to wetsuits to continue their sport of choice. Lots of great restaurants like Two Dudes and small shops like Driftwood! Close to night life of Atlantic Beach, visit Pete's the oldest bar in Florida and easy ride to Mayport for a ferry boat ride, party boat fishing or traveling the Buccaneer Trail through beautiful Islands to Fernandina Beach. Great place to live or visit"

we really enjoyed this beach. the beach is wide with hard packed sand. it's not crowded or commercialized. the pier is free to walk on and fish off of. there are hardly any shells which means you are not walking on crushed shells when you wade into the waves. the waves are nice to swim in. they are not too strong to knock you down but are strong enough to ride in. there are lots of nice restaurants in town with plenty of free parking that range from seafood, bbq, to mellow mushroom. there is not much to see, but all you need is an umbrella, some fold out chairs, and a cold drink. we felt completely safe here, safer than in our small home town. i slept better here than i do in my own home. there are no people asking you for money, people holding card board signs at every stop light, people passed out on benches and on the sidewalk, stinky people loitering in restaurants, unlike charleston, wv.

Beautiful and clean beach. Not crowded at the time I was there. Hampton Inn issued arm bands so our area was a more private beach.

Beautiful place. Not too crowded great parking. Plenty of room to socially distance from others. Appeared pretty clean. Bathrooms were close to where we were located. Would definitely return.

Driving in Jacksonville is relatively easy for a beach town. The town is clean, neat and offers a wide variety of good restaurants. We have observed Jacksonville Beach improving through the years whereas some beach towns have greatly depreciated. Saw Grass Golf resort is a very short drive. Driving highway A1A is scenic and connects very nice beach areas. The city of Jacksonville is only 20 minutes away and offers the culture of any great American city. Jacksonville Beach offers public parking, making the beach and shopping area accessible by foot. We visit this beach at least once a year.

We always walk Jacksonville Beach after we eat dinner. The sand is soft and the beach is nice. Plenty of shops and restaurants around too. We went during 4th of July and the fireworks were beautiful. There is always a ton of people but it doesn't ever seem too overcrowded. Not a lot of shells but its always been clean.

Now I know it's not in season but the weather was nice so we went. Couple items. Guessing because it's out of season seaweed isn't removed which is probably what brings the ants and fire ants on to the beach. Not great. Sand is very soft and fine but visually doesn't look great. Last there is definitely a homeless issue exists and in general some strange characters.
Be where.

Jacksonville beach is terrible trash everywhere, people are rude and crime rate and drug use is bad!! Not PET Friendly! I’ve had my truck broken into here before!

If you enjoy sunbathing and walking with the homeless then this is your spot! Beach is clean and pretty, but as a woman who frequents the beach alone I don’t go here anymore. I drive the extra 5-10 minutes and go to Atlantic beach. Stay safe out there!

I've been staying near this beach all summer. It is clean and family friendly. The access to get onto the beach is challenging if you are carrying a lot of supplies, which most people are. You have to walk down stairs to get onto the sand; they should have installed ramps instead. There were lifeguards out every weekend. There are shops along the access road and a couple of restaurants, but not as many as you would expect. Surfers Bar is good; see my review. There is a shop with beach supplies such as umbrellas, towels, etc. The Manager was super nice. It looks like a knickknack store from outside so keep an eye out. You can ride bikes on this beach and down the access road. The parking is so-so. There is a for-pay lot, 5 dollars, off- peak, 10 peak, which is not as big as it should be. You can park along some streets as well for free but come early. I haven't tried any of the restaurants on A1A yet, but I am going to try Salt Life before I leave; stay tuned.

This is always a great place to go to. I visit quite often. I have watched many sunrises and many sunsets and I promise you it never gets old. This time their was a pod of dolphins swimming through the waves because a storm was rolling through. Not too long ago I saw a pod of Whales. I can tell you that each time I come it is a new experience and the thing that is really nice is for the most part you can visit year round of course it has to be at certain times of the day.

This beach is very clean and well taken care of. Life guards are on duty. The water felt wonderful. Not very crowded at all.

Disgusting news: According to OCEAN RESCUE you can allow your dog to poop on the beach without cleaning it up because "It is natural and will wash into the ocean" YUCK!

A little boring, clean beach close to the shops in town but definitely need to improve on the food choices! Need more FLAVORFUL Restaurants, Steak houses, CHEFS!

Nice wide sandy beach. Plenty of space to relax, walk, swim or board. Bring a towel or chair and don't forget the suntan lotion!

The beach is wide and plenty of room to stretch out. Very well maintained and plenty orf lifeguards on duty. Fun place to hang out and wade in the water.

Amazing day on the beach! We rented a condo on the end of 8th Street. Watched the sunrise and had a relaxing day on the beach. Great for small kids. Life guards, police patrol and animal control. You can ride bikes on this beach. You must know there’s certain hours for dogs being allowed on the beach.
Great beach
Nice beach, it was in front of our hotel. Lots of people, but not too busy. Was amazed how warm the ocean was in august.
