2 of 21 Best Attractions in Jemez Springs

I'm taking a trip to Albuquerque this weekend and wanted to detour to the Jemez to visit the hot springs. This is a family vacation so when I called to clarify about whether children under the age of 14 were allowed at all I was met with the response of, "Find a babysitter and then come back and see me." While I understand my question might have seemed redundant to someone who has poor customer service skills and a decided lack of ability in communicating with people, I decided to take the time out of planning a family vacation and ask the question. Why? On the off chance this place of service offered the option for a family to view the property and enjoy the supposed relaxing atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
Afterwards, I took a little more time to read other reviews from people who have previously visited your place of business and frankly I'm shocked. You actually took the time to respond to poor reviews and make excuses for what seems to be repeatedly bad behavior. Rather than making excuses for a rude staff and disappointing experiences, how about owning your mistakes, rather than attempting to blame the customers that you failed to impress.
I look forward to whatever excuse you respond to this review with.

The Spring water comes up at 148° but the oxygenation vents keep the pool at 100° in the big pool and at 103° in the small pool. You come out feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after an hour. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is the dressing area is a single room for both men and women, so you may have to wait a while to dress and undress. Other than that it is a great experience.

This is a small facility, although they are currently installing a third soaking area. The river running right next to the resort is really soothing and they have plenty of area for changing and lounging outside of the pools.

There is nothing more disappointing than wanting to do something and not being prepared. I walked in and explained our situation and Tanya said no problem! We rented swim trunks and towels. We opted for the one hour dip. That really was about all we could take. You can bring plastic bottles in but not glass. You can also be served hot beverages out by the tub. I can't say enough about the invigorating feeling I had after getting out. I felt like my whole body had been exfoliated!

What a magical place! We visited for our 10th anniversary, and stayed in one of the rustic cabins on the property. Our nightly rate included a two-hour soak in the spring-fed pools each day. There are 4 pools of various sizes and temperatures, which can change slightly as more hot spring water is piped in. As you relax in the soothing water, you can hear the flow of the Jemez River right next to the property. You can see all kinds of birds feeding on the sunflowers and other plants around the pools. Our cabin was very comfortable, and we appreciated having a kitchen because Jemez Springs is a small town with few restaurants (only one open for breakfast). The cabin was stocked with coffee and a Keurig machine. We only saw one employee here, a guy named Brian who took care of everything for us. He deserves a raise. The area is dark at night, with a stunning night sky. Highly recommended.

Pay no mind to that recent 1 star review this person obviously is an idiot. Me and my girlfriend went here and it's amazing. Prices are reasonable and the wait staff was amazing! Patrick working there was very friendly and very informative about the area. All the pools where clean and well maintained! I have a vacation house on the hill I visit this time every year and plan to come back here many times! Anyway a shame they got a bad review because it was not warranted. However we all deal with those kind of people on a daily basis and you can't make everyone happy. However make sure you don't pass this place up its amazing!

We soaked in this outdoor hot mineral springs pool while it was snowing. It was incredibly beautiful. We were the only two people in the pool. The hostess was fantastic. She stayed open just for us. We were able to adjust the hot springs in-flow to have the pool at whatever temperature we wanted. The scenery was fantastic. We could have dipped in the nearby cold river and then returned to the hot pool if we had liked. I will be back, God willing!

My husband found this place online and it look so nice but when we actually got there OMG It took our breath away!!!!!! This place is amazing period. We got to spend time in this natural springs water for so cheap and the customer service was awesome. You have to stop by if you are going to NM is definitely worth the drive also, the views while getting there are just beautiful. You’ll thank me latter trust me.

My partner is from New Mexico, so we traveled back to the ABQ area to celebrate a bridal shower weekend with his family. My two best friends flew out as well and planned a wonderful weekend agenda for the women in the family. Giggling Springs was definitely a highlight of the weekend! The pools were awesome, the setting was a perfect NM experience, the staff was friendly and it wasn't too crowded. We paid for two hours and had a wonderful soak. I recommend a fruit smoothie too! Will be back the next time I'm in the area.

Very cool experience. Beautiful views right on the river, quiet, and peaceful. Just very neat! Would definitely do again!!

4 of us arrived late Saturday morning and had a wonderful experience. Remember to bring your own towels.

Our stay was very peaceful. I wouldn't go back solely based on the fact that the 10am-6pm ours of operation just wasn't worth it. The hot springs itself was awesome. The room at the resort was very clean and quiet. The saloon within walking distance offered some great live entertainment for the evening. The beer was cold and the food was very delicious. I must have overlooked the hours of operation and can only point the finger at myself. Overall I am glad we went and still made the most of our time.

We planned on spending the night in Jemez Springs and arrived earlier than expected. We saw the hot springs next door to our lodging, so we called and no reservations needed. We spent a lovely hour in the 4 -99 to 104 degree pools, soaking up the sun and relaxing. The staff was so friendly and could not have been nicer or more accommodating. After a day sightseeing along rt.4, it was a delightful end to a beautiful day.

This is a wonderful, peaceful, cared for place. Our family of 4 recently visited Giggling Hot Springs in the small resort town of Jemez Springs. We had no phone service and were on our way to an afternoon hike, so we stopped by, spoke with the owners and reserved a time for later in the afternoon. When we arrived, we had the place to ourselves. The pool, at 102 degrees was a soothing balm for all of us, after getting rained on during our hike. The grounds are simple, very clean and peaceful. If you've had enough of the warm water, you can walk a few steps to the riverside, lay in a hammock and contemplate the Jemez River passing by on a long trip to the Gulf of Mexico. The owners (caretakers?) are conscientious, caring, and flexible. This is a great family destination. Don't miss the opportunity for dinner at Los Ojos in town, also.

We visited for the first time this February. Very attentive staff, plenty of refreshments available and we had a very good soak!

I went to the hot spring after hiking in Bandelier. The staff were very accommodating and the grounds were clean. The spring baths themselves were heavenly.

My husband and I took a road trip around New Mexico. Had time on our last day so decided to try a hot spring. This hot spring was easy to access and affordable. 25.00 an hour. We chose to do two hours and were glad we did as it gave us time to soak and relax and drink smoothies that we were able to purchase on site. We rented the towels and robes. We loved that it was not crowded. Five tubs to choose from with different temperatures. Our favorite was the tub pool. It was so relaxing and the cool breeze was refreshing. We are very happy we had this experience.

We couldn’t have asked for a better out turn on our October visit. The staff was very inviting and explained the property to us before making our purchase for the daily pass.
The property was so cute set up with personal cabanas a warm changing facility, restrooms and plenty of lounge space. There were table areas set up to bring your own snacks and beverages.
The multiple Hot Spring areas offered plenty of privacy for couples and small group parties. (No Lovey Dovey)
The water was absolutely amazing. A couple of different pools to choose from with different temperatures in range. Very relaxing an absolutely stunning atmosphere with the large snow globe style flakes coming from the sky and meeting the hot water.
It was like a view from a movie!

We went to the Giggling Springs on a day trip from Santa Fe, and what a wonderful experience! As we walked in another visitor said "Welcome to heaven on earth!" And he was so right! The pools are so relaxing, the landscaping is beautiful, filled with butterflies and hummingbirds. The people working there are so friendly and helpful, it's definitely worth the drive (which is also spectacular if you come up 550 and 4!). We'll be back on our next visit to Santa Fe and will highly recommend it to everyone we know!

Visited here with son and his friend visiting from out of state. James and the owners have really improved the entire area.

The first time I visited (April 2015) I was working through a personal issue and was in ABQ for a healing experience. Giggling Springs was so peaceful, allowing time, solace, and space... even though friends brought me and their were other guests enjoying the waters.
This 2nd visit brought a different sort of peace and comfort. The waters are wonderful, the hospitality is familial.
I’ve recommended Giggling Springs to others... and will be back whenever I return to NM!

I have been to Jemez Hot Springs in the past to soak (in all seasons- winter is amazing just FYI) but this time rented one of their cabins to stay overnight with an aunt who lives in Albuquerque. It was wonderful in many ways:
-- The springs themselves-- each overnight guest gets 2 hours of complimentary soaking - and we loved being able to walk from our cabin to the springs- they have robes and towels - we soaked one hour in the evening and one the next morning.
-- The accommodations- we booked the Adobe Cabin- two bedroom, nice living room, and a view of the mountains from the back porch, where we enjoyed some wine. It was beautifully appointed, clean, and well-stocked with coffee maker, coffee, etc.
-- The location- there aren't many places to eat in Jemez, and this is right across the street from a great restaurant (Los Ojos Restaurant & Saloon)
-- The staff - I can't say enough positive things about Brylle, one of the attendants working both days we were there. He was extremely friendly and helpful when we checked in (bringing me extra cream and sugar for my coffee) as well as the morning we checked out. I had already planned to mention him on TripAdvisor when he went above and beyond- the day after we got back from Jemez, I could not find a few pieces of jewelry I'd been wearing. I swore I had looked thru our cabin, but I called Jemez Hot Springs just in case. Brylle answered but said he had not seen any jewelry (he had cleaned the cabin, and there were new guests). He then called me back 2 hours later that he had found my jewelry- so he must have gone back and looked. These were favorite pieces of mine, and I was so thankful that he took the time to look for the jewelry and to call me back and put it aside for me. Not everyone would do that, and it made my day.

Our favorite getaway for a day trip from nearby Placitas, NM. We always enjoy the peacefulness of the area, attentive hostess, and above all, the total relaxation we get from one of the many pools of mineral water!

Nestled in the Jemez mountains is this oasis of relaxation. There are four, well maintained pools to choose from. The views of the sky and the mountains as you relax and float are unparalleled. They offer tasty smoothies to help maintain hydration as you are soaking. We purchased a two-hour block of time and we felt it was just right. Treat this excursion as a day trip. Driving there is half the adventure. :)

This is the place to go if you want to get totally relaxed and fall off the grid for a while. The pools are kept at different temperatures so you can find one that is comfortable for you. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had two of the most relaxing and rejuvenating days there I have ever had. The Santa Fe River flows by just a few feet from the lowest spring. Several of the pools are shaded so you can enjoy your soak hidden from the sometimes ferocious New Mexico Sun. They have a few cabins to rent and your soaks are covered by the base rental fee. The pools are all cleaned every night and were spotless. Some of the cabins have full kitchens and although there are two pubs and one cafe in town, you might want to bring some of your own food. Cabin #2 where I stayed has a wonderful wood swing on the front porch.

Stay away from the Jemez Hot Springs!.
I am a wheelchair user. I was ignored, addressed in the third person, profiled, and screened for being in a wheelchair. I was humiliated by the receptionist when she asked my wife in front of other users,“he’s not gonna pee in the pool is he?“.
Then we were gaslighted by the manager, who told us that her employee would not, nor would she ever say what she just said to us. If that were not enough, there are no accessible toilets in the facility.

The people and the place are both so lovely. A wonderful escape from the city! My two local friends I visited with said "this is the REAL New Mexico" -- high praise. Worth the drive!! The town also had some cute looking things I wish I could have experienced. Go!

I grew up in NM but moved away about 20 years ago and this try to get back every four or five years. Every trip giggling springs is a must. The dramatic backdrop and river running next to the spring makes it an other worldly experience. The staff is great and I love that it still has the bohemian vibe. Love love!

I have not been to a Hot Springs in a long time, but this one was very nice several different pools for different water temperatures plus room to sit back and relax along with nice changing rooms and unbelievable views

Glorious hot spring, quiet, peaceful and beautiful. We do hot springs every December and this was the best by far. Wonderful hosts -great service....we had drinks whenever we needed them but felt as if we had complete privacy. Planning our next trip in the spring and bringing the rest of the family!

I just happened to find a coupon for this place online while on a brief two-night stop in Placitas, NM. What a wonderful find! The water was perfect.... in all four pools. Very much worth the money for a two-hour soak. Our skin was soft from the minerals for days!

We had a plan after Christmas to head to New Mexico in search of snow and Jemez Hot Springs. We found them both. The Springs were amazing, we choose to stay an hour at the Springs. Very nice changing areas. There was snow on the ground and we were hesitant to change into swim wear but once we started enjoying the hot springs we all forgot about the outside temps. We tried all the pools out except the least warmest. Amazing time!! We would return !!

I admit that I live near to Ojo Caliente whose one price will let you be there all day, if you want. Perhaps the fact the locally owned and run Bath House uses a timed price structure is the reason for Giggling Springs to also do that? If so, they do not need to! It's a completely different kind of experience than the Bath House. The place was mine alone for close to the entire hour I paid for. It's clean, cute, has great gardens, 5 nice pools of varying temperatures right by the Jemez River. How relaxing can it be to be watching the clocks as I soak so I do not go over time?? NOT! This place should have been full of people enjoying the shaded pools and hammocks and hummingbirds and lounge chairs, not be virtually empty. I think it's the price structure that's the problem.

We had called to make an appt and were not expecting much. We got there an hour early and they were able to get us right in. It was hot and started to rain which made this outdoor experience so nice. Stepping into the warm water of the spring in what looks like a odd shape swimming pool. The garden setting with the birds and humming birds flying around make this a great experience. If you come to the area, make sure to stop in and enjoy one hour or more. The staff that run the place are happy to bring you something cold to drink and to help you out with any questions you might have.

We visited the spot after the International Balloon Fiesta and was a great way to unwind. There are four pools to relax in raging in heat. It was perfect to help with stuff joints. I will truly recommend.

What a wonderful place to find tucked away off the main road through Jemez Springs. Giggling Springs is an amazing setting with mountains all around and a babbling brook right beside the hot springs. Staff were very attentive but not overbearing and also very knowledgeable regarding the local area.
A MUST do experience.

This is the first time me and my husband have really ever done anything nice for ourselves by ourselves (no kids). It was truly an amazing and relaxing experience. We spent 2 hours there and it was not enough. Next time we will do a full day and bring lunch. The owner was absolutely wonderful, and she also makes the best smoothies. We were so impressed that we purchased a gift certificate for my moms birthday. A definite GEM!!

we were here in late October, and it was wonderful. The trees were all in their Fall splendor, and we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. Several pools to choose from, and nicely landscaped grounds and seating areas.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour session today. Tanya was the best hostess ever. I can't wait to go back. Thank you so much!

This place was so beautiful full with hummingbirds. The pool was small and cosy.
They accommodate upto 12 ppl at a time, which I think is a little crowded, but we were only 7 so it was fine for us.
They also provide towels and robes on rent and you can order your drinks (no alcohol) while sitting in the pool.
The water temperature can be controlled, you just have to flip the signal board when required. Our Hostess was very warm and hospitable. She made sure we werent feeling too hot if the others kept the water on high heat for more time.
A must visit.

After reading the reviews of "free" hot springs, I thought spending the $20 for a dog and nude free experience was worth the money. My sisters and I tried all the spas and could only handle 1 hour.

So glad we decided to drop bye and do this, Springs only have a few pools but Very Clean and relaxing. It rained and we sat in pools under the shade cover and it was such a great experience. Girls working were very friendly and really enjoyed their job. I love they supply float toys which we enjoyed. Changing rooms were handy. I would come again everytime.

Beautiful place to go an relax and the drive thru town is wonderful. My husband and I just went last week and we were basically there by ourselves. Just a wonderful place to relax and absorb the surroundings. Highly recommend, the gentleman that runs the place was great to talk to.

It was a relaxing afternoon. The only drawback in this place is nowhere to run while running. Our shoes got wet.

The manager greeted us with a friendly explanation of the different pools, their relative temperatures and a general overview of the place. The motif is tiki and unassuming; artsy without being snarky. The changing areas were clean and well maintained as were the pools and the various eating areas. People just seemed to relax and friendly in the inviting environment, so that we got to know all the other people visiting during the time we were there. We took an hour, but quickly added a second once we settled in and relaxed. Flavorful smoothies were available as well as jewelry and souvenirs. A very pleasant way to take a warm soak.

Visited here a while back. My wife and I were the only ones in the pool. Pool was very nice and clean and they were able to adjust the temperature to our liking. Located right along the stream which is nice to hear the stream sounds. Will visit again.

Kendra was an excellent, friendly host. Did not see any of the dust on statues, or dirty water others spoke of. Water was hot enough to help detox you. Pricey, but would go again. Jewelry in the gift shop had the best prices we had seen in NM. So good my wife bought some.

Jemez Hot Springs is an unpretentious gem. A friend who lives in Albuquerque suggested we try it, and I’m so glad we did. The pools are pleasantly arranged and supplied with floaties to enhance your relaxation. Most have partial shade. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. The place also offers beverages and smoothies and has a nice little gift shop.

This has been a favorite spot of mine for a few years now, but even more so now! Two large pools have now been added with much more seating areas, both in the sun and shade. The added amenities create a sense of tranquility and respite. The staff, as always, are very friendly and helpful.

A hidden gem in the middle of natural beauty. Not only was the drive beautiful, the grounds are well-kept and tranquil. Soak in all pools for a wonderful experience. Watch the sun set as the creek babbles by. You can rent swimming suit and towel if you're not prepared. Do it - you don't want to miss this opportunity.

We were at a real hot spring the night before but this isn't too bad at all. A man made natural looking pool fed by a natural spring and it is quite hot. There's a 10 person max capacity and they charge by the hour, FYI. Just outside the pool is a natural cold creek flowing past for those of you with the courage to lay in that and then jump back in the pool. I did it once that evening, I'll never do it again anywhere, ever!! There's a changing room and the whole garden area around the pool adds to the whole experience. There's also great views of the surrounding mountains while your taking a dip.

My wife surprised me with an early Father's Day present by taking me to Jemez Hot Springs. At first I wasn't sure if I want to do it, but after taking a brief tour it looked like a well-kept and clean place. He spent four hours there and I had a wonderful and relaxing time. I don't usually relax so it was usual for me to spend four hours just sitting around but I really liked it. As I said the place was well-maintained and not too crowded.

Enjoyed staying in Red Mesa Suite cabin at Jemez Hot Springs. Water for soaking was excellent with various temperatures of pools, only wish they were a bit deeper. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The owner has made a deliberate choice to keep things here very simple. About five pools of different temperature. Comfortable chairs and hammocks for lounging. Shady spaces to protect you from the sun. A few changing rooms. And the pools are very, very clean.
The price is higher than other springs (1 hour for $25, 2 hours for $40); this may be why it wasn't very crowded when we visited. And there were no children.
All in all, we had a very relaxing visit. We will return.

My husband and I dropped in at Giggling Hot Springs after a couple of days hiking in Bandelier. It was exactly what we needed to rejuvenate our tired muscles (especially important as we planned to do the full Bataan March a couple of days later). We spent one hour ($25/person) and also thoroughly enjoyed a fruit smoothie and mocha frappuccino smoothie ($5.95 apiece). The setting is serene, right next to a rustling creek, with multiple small pools at different temperatures from which to choose. One may stay overnight, but we only had an hour to spare. I am so glad we came and will definitely return when in the area!

One of the coolest developed Hot Springs I’ve been to; very peaceful and tranquil wonderful small pools refreshed with hot spring water. We stayed in the turquoise trail. It was wonderful.

The front office staff was very late, totally and completely rude and unprofessional. The girl that was checking and people did not tell us about their waiting time until we ask. And then told us that we had to wait in the heat for at least 30 minutes before being able to get in. I told my husband well …that is gonna be a problem and then she said to me; well is that gonna be a problem?
I just thought who is talking to her? But because she was so rude and asked me that I said well yes it is gonna be a problem. It is actually freaking hot outside. After her comment, we just scratch our names and left the premises. If that is the service in the front office, I can’t imagine the service inside. We went to another mineral water pools and it was a great day for us in another location. . I honestly just wonder what the front office people think when they are dealing with customers who do they think they are? They have no freaking clue about customer service. They are rude and entitled . They just think that they can say whatever to customers and get away with it. Well, I’ll choose who I give my business to, and hence, I chose to leave.
Owner: choose people that are customer service oriented, with perhaps hospitality industry experience and train them to speak properly to visitors.

This place is literally an oasis. We went after a long day of hiking and it was so relaxing to sit and soak in the pools. We went on a Monday at about 3pm and were the only ones there for an hour! The owner said that Tuesdays are his slowest day so I would recommend going then. It was amazing to have the whole place to ourselves. At first i thought the $25 per hour per person was too expensive but after enjoying that hour it was well worth it. It is beautifully landscaped and has lots of floats and hammocks and lounges to relax. I highly recommend this place!

My husband and I drove from Santa Fe to Jemez Hot Springs. The drive was beautiful through the mountains but took extra time because of curves and changes in elevation. There were several pools of hot springs varying in temperature. There were several dressing rooms and many relaxation areas. We spent an hour and were very relaxed. It is a beautiful location. We went on a Thursday and understand it is busier on the weekends.

My husband and I heard about this place from the locals. It is a beautifully serene meditative mineral hot spring. There are 4 pools of various temperatures. Changing rooms are also available. They have a menu for sandwiches and smoothies. Not kid friendly. But oh so peaceful.

This activity was one of the highlights of our trip. Arrived from Albuquerque shortly after 11 AM and we were quite alone with our beautiful, sunny but slightly cool day and four pools all to ourselves. Well, for 20 minutes anyway! We didn't do the cooler pool but did the other three. What a nice, relaxing soak. It is a friendly place. Ride from Albuquerque is beautiful. Wish we had such a great place in the northeast.

Stopped on a Saturday. Chose to only do and hour and glad we did. Being a warm day it was very difficult to stay in the hot springs very long as you started to get over heated. But the springs are great. Very warm and the showers are nice and big so changing is easy. They do rent towels so you do bot need to bring your own. Bathrooms very clean. The entire hot springs are clean and very pleasant. Bring water or cold drinks.

My sister and I got lost trying to find this place....but it was worth the effort! Jim, the host, is super-friendly, the facilities clean and the water is divine!! The price-- $18/hr--seems high; however, that ensures a great soaking experience--in fact, we had the pool to ourselves! I've soaked at MANY commercial and primitive places the area, and REALLY enjoyed Giggling Springs! :)

After hiking the Tent Mountains, my son and I were looking for a way to relax our muscles from a number of days of hiking. I went on-line and found Giggling Springs - who can resist the name. Called and booked a reservation. Even though this was nearly 70 miles out of our way it was worth it. We were greeted by the owner Tanya who was so warm and gracious we knew we picked the right place. When you arrive it appears that it is a lodge but they no longer offer lodging. Do not be taken back by what appears to be a very rustic luck. Tanya has done a superb job of creating a welcoming and inviting environment. One step through the back door and you are in a slice of heaven. She just recently opened a second pool (a bit smaller). There were only five other people with us through our 1 hour session (we could have spent the day but we needed to get back to Santa Fe) and everyone was so nice. We are from New Jersey, the rest of the folks were from New Mexico. Tanya has towels and beverages available if you need them but you can bring your own. There are two very nice outdoor changing rooms and an outdoor, open shower for use. GO! The road in and out of Jiménez is beautiful.

Beautiful setting among trees and landscaped grounds. Four pools so there is enough room for all visitors. Plenty of seating/lounge areas.

Several ladies went for a peaceful soak. That is exactly what we got. The grounds are tranquil and spread out so we never felt cramped . I spent most of my time in the large pool with the sail shade. We will go back.

I cannot say enough about the staff and environment at Jemez Hot Springs. Accommodating in every way and the renovations have made it even more relaxing than ever. Even our 14 year old girl wants to go back.

We visisted Giggling Springs following a visit to Bandelier Natioanl Monument. It is a cute little hot pool in a historic old town. The owner was very friendly and the dip in the pool was very relaxing. There is a stream right next to the hot spring pool and the sounds and atmosphere are enjoyable. Jemez is a quirkly little town be sure to vist the bar directly across the street.

It has been a stressful week: traveling from the East coast, dropping off our youngest at college, a minor traveling injury and the aches of being 50+..but all that vanished after a relaxing soak. Kelly welcomed us and explained the four soaking pools. We stayed for two perfect, blissful hours. Definitely recommend!

Truly a find, this was such a surprise to find...
Tucked away in gorgeous nature, this hot springs was truly a gift to discover, we will be back whenever we are in New Mexico. I plan on making this an annual destination spot to refuel and replenish with all of the natural beauty that surrounds the Giggling Springs.
I think it's name is derived from the fact that while you are there you are giggling to yourself at how lucky you are to soak in these waters and watch the bubbling brook roll by.
Truly not to be missed ~ this is a destination place from here onward !
Thank you Jim for your lovely hospitality and taking such good care of us...
We will be back ~

If you come to Jemez Springs, you must visit Giggling Springs. The owners have enlarged the entire pool area, created several pools of various temperatures, and lots of little nooks to relax in or out of the sun. It is a unique experience in a beautiful gem of a place. The water literally comes from springs located on the property. You will regret not taking the time to stop!

Four natural mineral-spring-fed pools. No crowds. Quiet and relaxing. Surrounding mountains are beautiful. Worth the visit!

We enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing afternoon at the Jemez Hot Springs. Top notch amenities with a helpful and welcoming staff. The four pools are scrumptiously inviting and therapeutic. Highly recommend!

Jemez Springs on NM route 4 has always had a source of hot water from the volcano on which it sits, but the folks at Giggling Springs have really gone the extra mile to make this an attractive way to relax and soak away your aches and pains. They have four pools fed from 142 degree water diluted with cold river water so that each is a different temperature - one is swimming-pool temperature, another is body temperature, the largest one is warm but not overly so, and the smallest pool is the hottest. The walkways are paved so that you don't need river-shoes to walk between the pools. The pools are aerated and have submerged seating along the sides. There are dressing booths and a small cabin with rest room, shade awnings over parts of it or full sun if you like that, a hammock, several lounge chairs, all the amenities you could need. They even have suits and towels to rent if you forgot yours. Leave them with your drink orders, and the drinks will be at poolside by the time you change. The water has minerals, but not the bad ones - no need to shower after soaking. There are B&Bs nearby, and the town has two good places to eat. This is a rare gem.

This is a great place for a relaxing soak. The staff was very accommodating and it was a fun experience on a NM road trip.

Light rain afforded us the springs to
Ourselves . Gracious and accommodating welcome. Beautiful and peaceful setting overlooking the mountain range.

We were a bit shocked by the price, but other than that we enjoyed our time immensely. We originally paid for only an hour, but were enjoying ourselves so much that we asked to extend our time to two hours. The pools and the landscape are very beautiful. There is a creek running next to the pools helping to create a soothing atmosphere. There is a cool pool which I love and have found lacking at other hot spring venues. I will be going back!

We spent the week in a rented adobe house in Jemez Springs and rode our bikes to this hot springs. There are a couple in town to choose from and this one, with its open outdoor pools looked the most fun for couples and groups. (The other offers individual private bath tubs). We paid for passes, a couple hours for each of us (@$25 an hour). Scenic location along the banks of the Jemez River (no river access), artsy boho vibe.
No sunscreen (or any lotions of any kind) meant I wore a rash guards from the river to stay protected from getting sunburnt. Bring a hat. You are not allowed to dunk your hair in the water and will be gifted a hair-tie upon request. You can bring water bottles, and phones may be used for taking photos but not for taking calls. They sell smoothie drinks from the very small gift shop area.
We were there in summer but I know this place would be amazing in the cold seasons.

Had a lovely, solo afternoon lounging in and out of the pools of this homey, inviting place. Several different pools to choose from of varying degrees and landscaping designed for privacy. Lots of places to stretch in the sun or out. Staff were friendly and consistently asking if I needed anything. The only advice would be perhaps one more bathroom as when it got busier, there was a line. Though not a long one.

I am a resident New Mexican, and I have had a ton of memorable experiences in the Land of Enchantment in the 15 years I have lived here! Giggling Springs is one of the best places I have ever spent an afternoon. I took two of my friends who were visiting from the South, and they can't stop raving about it! The owner is incredibly friendly, the pools are very well-kept, and the location is fantastic! If you want a relaxing afternoon in some of the most beautiful scenery New Mexico has to offer, go to Giggling Springs!

Great spot for a soak! My son and I had the place to ourselves and it was quite lovely. This is my second time there and I will continue to return. It seems a little pricey, but the tranquility is well worth it.. You can go cool off in the stream if the springs are too hot! Go, relax and enjoy! The facilities are great. The history makes a fun factor!

Great little hot spring right off of the Jemez river. Two small public pools, one @ 102 and one @ 105. Cost @ $18 per hour. Water felt great but was cloudy. There was no sulphur so it was not stinky. The young lady at the desk was very helpful. Bathing suits are required.

We've been going to Giggling Springs for years. It's a "must-do" anytime we're in Jemez Springs. Ojo Caliente and 10,000 Waves tend to be the better known hot springs/spa in New Mexico but - since its updates and expansion - Giggling Springs gives them both a good run for the money. The property is definitely much more low-key and laid back (another reviewer used the term "unpretentious" - exactly!), but you also rarely have a crowd. There aren't overnight accommodations, but there are plenty of those within walking distance. And who needs a high dollar spa treatment when you're having a relaxing soak just steps away from the river and with stunning views all around you? Can't say enough good things about the management, either. Very friendly and accommodating!

We visited on a Saturday it was 38F outside with light snow showers. We had been looking forward to the visit and we were not disappointed. We spent one hour soaking and relaxing, I wore warm socks and a warm bath robe while out of the pool and I was comfortable, there are many lounge chairs for use, they recommended you wear a beanie to stay warm. Remember you have to take your beverages and snacks. The facility was very pretty and clean.

Very quaint and peaceful. We arrived around 3:00pm-5:00pm. Spent two hours there and it was just enough time. They have four hot springs and it sits next to a river stream. You cannot get into the stream but there are chairs nearby to sit and relax next to it while enjoying the mountain views. They also serve the best smoothie I have ever had! Get the mixed berry smoothie and kick back and take in those hot springs minerals!

First time visitor to Jemez Springs, Bought the 2 hour soak and do believe I could have gone for the 4 hour! There are several pools of different heats; I especially liked the Fountain of Youth, just right temp, a smaller pool and very relaxing. The grounds are decorated with original art, lots of goddesses, statuary, plants, hummingbird feeders and just relaxing effects all around. It is quiet even with a number of people there as clients are asked to silence cell phones, use headphones for music and to just relax. There are pool noodles and floats available but I preferred the rock seats in the pools themselves. I can hardly wait to return.
Treat yourself to one of their delicious smoothies...you'll feel extra pampered.

I went to the springs with my aunt and we had a great time! The staff was very nice and helpful they showed us around and were very helpful. The staff made sure we had a good time and checked in on us to see if we needed anything . The Springs itself was clean and well kept, also very relaxing. That day my aunt and I left happy and very satisfied overall!

The pool is nice, large and clean. The location on the Jemez river is good. I was alone for the first 30 minutes, after that there were about 12 people in that one pool. There is no shower to rinse off after you finish, unless you pay $5 extra.

If the Jemez Mountains were an oyster, Jemez Hot Springs would be the pearl. Four pools with varied temperatures, cozy relaxation areas, beautiful scenery and attentive staff. Jemez Hot Springs limits the amount of guests in the pool area so it never gets packed like some other regional Hot Springs//spas. They offer delicious smoothies and drinks to sip while you soak. Floating chairs are available for use in the large pools.
Jemez Hot Springs is the perfect place to renew your spirit.
A great place to bring loved ones and family (14 and older).
The gift shop has swim suits and towels for sale (in case you forgot yours) and a wonderful assortment of jewelry, artwork and other items for those gift giving needs.
The owners and staff take excellent care of the property and the quality of the pools is top notch.

We've been to many of New Mexico's hotsprings, natural and man-made, and always appreciate the unique "perks and quirks" that each one has to offer. Giggling springs was very pretty, with interesting grounds to relax in. There's a really cool wetland marsh right next to the pool, and some nice shaded areas, and funky historic buildings. I felt the fee was high, but I realize these little out of the way places only make their money a few months out of the year most likely.
One thing, immediately upon arriving I felt uncomfortable with the owner who seemed almost nervous about us being there. It was odd, hard to describe, but basically we felt very "watched" and later she mentioned she overheard our conversation while down in the springs, which actually made us think she must have some kind of two-way speaker that she can listen to while she's up in her office? Is that legal? Also, she made us stand and listen to what must have been 10 minutes of her "intro to the springs" schpeel that was just way too long. I would really give it about 3.5 stars if I could.

I visited with a friend in the winter and this was a perfect way to wind down after a day of hiking. The springs are very quiet and peaceful, with a lovely desert vibe.

Our family stopped in late afternoon after visiting Bandelier National Monument. I had researched on TA and decided this was the best one to suit us. We almost drove past it, you have to be looking as the sign isn't very big. There are several log cabins and the office is in one. Tanya was very welcoming and helpful. We had swimsuits and purchased towels from her for about $3.00 each. She took us out back and explained the dressing area and temps of the four different pools. I have to say this was probably the highlight of our New Mexico trip. Sitting out there relaxing in the warm pools with such scenic beauty all around you. The place had a very good vibe. We all agreed we'd like to go back again sometime.

This was absolutely wonderful!! Tanya was so sweet and very accommodating when we arrived a little late after getting lost on a hike. She explains things very well and makes sure you are comfortable. It was so relaxing and therapeutic with beautiful, quiet surroundings. The pool is very clean and inviting. We shared the pool with some very nice people from MA. The pomegranate-blueberry smoothies are fantastic and they have other drinks available to help keep you hydrated. We didn't use it but if you need something, you just raise a flag and someone will come out to see what you need which is nice so you don't have to get out of the pool. I will definitely do this again if we come back to NM.

My husband and I visited while in New Mexico. This place is a gem. Four different pools with different temperatures and wonderful seating areas off of the pools. The staff is very welcoming and will bring drinks to you pool side. It was a little hard to find. But worth turning around a few times to figure it out!

Greeted warmly by staff. First time visitor, so they filled me in with great detail. Facilities are very clean and grounds and pools are delightful!

Small spa with amazing high quality warters. Excellent prices. Just feet away from the Jemez river bubbling and gurgling. So peaceful. Actually leave a film of beneficial mineral on your body that just keep healing.

The pools are warm and refreshing. Landscaping and ambiance very nice. Plenty of nooks to relax and dry off. Juice/tea/coffee bar on-site also. Very friendly staff. We’ll definitely be back!

Went on a warm day, and were thoroughly delighted with this little gem. Much quieter and nicer than Pagosa Springs, and it was nice that these are not sulfur springs.

I found their card at the visitor center kiosk at ABQ and booked a 1-hour soak. My two friends and I loved the place and really enjoyed the relaxing and beneficial waters amid the lovely scenery. Then we 'giggled' up to Santa Fe. My friends are locals so hopefully they will return soon. I would definitely book again also.

The assistant was both helpful, knowledgeable and kind. We truly enjoyed our soak in these pools which are kept at constant temp, and the scenery was incredible.

My wife and I love hot springs and this one does not disappoint. A small, intimate spring with really nicely done outdoor pools and great, friendly staff. It’s a little pricey but worth it. Upon checking in for our two hour soak we were asked if we wanted to add a sil to our dip in the form of coffee, tea or smoothie. We said yes and were given a brief tour, from the deck, of the pools, changing rooms and bathroom. After getting changed and settling in, here came our drinks brought to us poolside! Super cool place we will be returning to on another NM staycation!

Beautiful surroundings kept immaculately clean. The photos are not "pushed" it really is that lovely, several large and small pools naturally fed (but temperature controlled with the addition of cool water if needed) worth every cent and then some, punch cards are available for those who want a bargain, be warned there are limited indoor changing areas (and a couple outside) to dress to be able to change easily if you come in the short cold weather season.

The site is very clean and well kept, and the staff are very kind, warm and welcoming.
I received excellent service during my trip, and enjoyed a delicious blueberry smoothie!
I definitely recommend this hot spot (pun intended) to anyone and everyone who enjoys the outdoors.
The water is highly mineralized and the temperatures of the pools are perfect.
The scenery is stunning- I enjoyed gazing at the beautiful mountains traced with snow during my soak.
My all-round experience was wonderful and I will definitely be back!!

The mineral springs were not very hot, even at the spot that was supposed to be the hottest, and the price ($19.25, incl. tax for 1-hour) was high for what it was (bare bones, would have had to pay an extra couple of dollars if we wanted a mere towel). We wound up spending only 15 minutes or so at this attraction. There was nothing particularly aesthetic about the experience. Buyer beware.

Highly recommend! We turned up on a sunny November afternoon with no reservation but Jim was more than welcoming to let us in. We originally chose just the single hour but once you are there you just want to stay, so we spent two hours. We shared the pools with two other people so it was lovely and quiet. You have the sound of the river behind you and the trickling of the water down the fountains and into the pools. The pools themselves were at the perfect temperature. Jim made sure that we had everything we needed and was very friendly. We made the drive from Santa Fe (approx. 2hrs) and had a spectacular view as we went up and over the mountain. Definitely worth the visit.

By far one of the best places to relax in New Mexico. Giggling Springs is an amazing spot to forget about everything and rejuvenate. I would recommend this place to everyone who seeks a place to relax.

Feel the unwind as you sink into the pools. Feels like you're in some far off country like southern Mexico or the Bahamas but you're in the good ole U.S.A.! The owners are awesome and make a great fruit smoothie!

This is the best spring in Jemez. Its quiet and beautiful! The water will heal any skin problem you can imagine. The staff are knowledgeable and kind. I would be there every week iif I could. You do not want to miss this. Great cafe across the street, beautiful drive. Plan to stay as long as you can.

The staff and facilities are excellent. The outward appearance is deceptive to the charm and character of the rooms. These are simply furnished and served our party of three well. If I had the chance, I would gladly return again. A spot not to be misssed.

Jim and Melissa provide an amazing atmosphere and the hot springs were wonderful. It did wonders for my ailing hip and I left with less pain than when I went in. Will definitely visit again when next I'm in New Mexico! Melissa makes a killer coconut smoothie too!!

This beautiful gem of hot springs is perfect for the older traveler who expects comfort and beauty, with a warm welcome.
The Springs here are a variety of temperatures, sizes and vibes...something for every mature adult.
Homemade smoothies to order, are delivered to you at a designated time( we had our after 45 minutes in the Springs) . The venue is located next to the restful river...a great place to sit & smoothie sip while your body absorbs the minerals from the Springs 💦

We are very glad that we made the drive up from Albuquerque to enjoy the spas. There are 4 different temperature pools, which is met everyone's wants/needs. They have an amazing little gift shop with jewelry and swimsuits. They also make the BEST smoothies and will bring them out to you at whatever time you want them to. Phenomenal custer service.

Looking to relax? This is the spot. Rustic feel and well appropriated. Perfect for couples and groups of friends. Staff is amazing and helpful but not intrusive. Pools range from hot to warm and the sound of the stream, the mountain birds and breeze are welcoming.
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️BEST Day trip form Albuquerque!

The drive is breathtaking and the springs are worth the drive. Awesome destination for relaxation, healing both mental and physical. We will be back.

The waters are amazing. Giggling Springs is so rejuvenating and beautiful, I loved all the different pools and the floating chairs. thank you

We were rv camping in Grant's, New Mexico and I found this place when looking for natural Hot Springs. After reading about several clothing optional locations I found Jemez Springs. The pictures and description sounded great. When driving to the location I was beginning to get concerned because it did not look very promising. We pulled in the parking ot and went in. The lady let us look at the hot tub area and it was beautiful. 4 different hot tubs with different temperatures. Hammocks, changing areas, cabanas. Also they had towels if you did not have on. We could order a smoothie that she brought to us at the tub. We did the 1 hour soak which went way to quick. It was great, very peaceful and relaxing.

Beautiful, landscaped pools of natural hot springs, over-looking mountains, with plenty of places to sun-bathe under cabanas. In a small town with one pub and two coffee shop/bakeries. The downside, is that the prices are too high: $40- for two hour soak; $75- for "Day use" which ends at 5pm.....they should lower the price to something like $25/ first hour and a half/ $35 for 2 1/2; $45 for all day, then more people would come from Albuquerque.
Pueblo of Jemez is worth a visit on the way, including magnificent red rocks.

Beautiful grounds with several pools of varying temperature. The owner was very friendly and takes pride in his business. The staff was very helpful.

I have been to Giggling Springs many times and highly recommend it. It is spiritually and physically rejuvenating. Those trying to improve their health should realize that the water quality here is oh so much better than at the more well known location of Ojo Caliente.
On some visits I have had the place all to myself (wonderful--bring a book) or just had the company of a friend or two. But if others are there that is OK too because the people you meet here are invariably interesting.

We visited in April 2019 and the facilities and staff were very well kept and worth the visit. I forgot how long we stayed but the visit was worth it for sure.

Giggling Springs has two pools of hot mineral water fed from an underground volcano. I went dressed in my bathing suit to avoid wasting any of my hour long soak. The pools were surrounded by native plants on three sides and a mountain and stream on the fourth. It was such a peaceful and relaxing time with only three of us in the pools. I would recommend this stop to anyone wanting a calming yet invigorating hot tub experience.

My best friend and I figured we start our vacation relaxing and releasing all the negative energy from the city. And this place sure did it for us. Tucked in an off road but so worth it. 4 pools are we took it it slow. First at the lowest which was comfortable and we could really feel the difference in our skin. We moved up to the next level which was just as comfortable. When you think heated pool in 97 degree weather you wouldn’t think of enjoying it. WE SO DID!!! We got alittle to tough and went to the top heated and wanted to cry at first lol. But we sat for a few seconds and decided it wasn’t for us. So we went to the one level lower and the last of the pool. And we relaxed. Filled our water jugs and chatted and just let it all go. By the time 2 hours were up our bodies were ready for this vacation. We have decided to even go back the day before we leave. Just so we can remember why we needed a girls vacation. Recommend!!!!

Best hot springs we have tried! Perfect temperatures, clean, peaceful, many extra touches--restorative!

Giggling Springs owners have managed to design a magical outdoor setting for their four mineral water pools with a dramatic backdrop of the mountains.
The grounds and the pools are immaculately clean, the cabanas and furniture well-designed and comfortable and the facilities well-kept.
We enjoyed four hours of bliss in and out of the mineral water pools, sunbathing on the lounge chairs and walking around.
We would love to go back next time we are in the area.

We arrived without a reservation just before noon. We knew that the Springs limits the amount of people that can occupy the pools. The attendant was upbeat and welcoming as she showed us the grounds. We were thrilled by what we saw. We were the only ones at the pools for the first half hour. It was simply delightful to relax in the clean, warm healing waters.. We especially appreciated the presence of a shade screen over the larger pool. We played (cautiously) in the river that was gurgling energetically beside the smaller pool and founds ourselves, yes, giggling. There were many seating areas to enjoy on the property. As the place filled up with more bathers, the atmosphere remained pleasant and low key. We will definitely visit Giggling Springs again.

Let me first say, the scenery on the drive from Albuquerque was jaw dropping. I'd done research and found this little gem online, so we took the afternoon for a soak. We passed it, not seeing the sign, but got directions at a store further down the road. As other reviewers say, there were 4 pools of varying temperatures. The day was perfect, mid 70's and clear blue skies. To soak at Giggles, admiring the surroundings was about as good as it gets. The boyfriend and I left thoroughly relaxed. It's places like this that feed my love of travel.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a 1-hour soak. We went on a Thursday around noon and had the place all to ourselves. The staff was very cordial and welcoming, and everything was explained before we started. We were impressed with the cleanliness. The pool is very relaxing, with some seats submerged in the water like in a hot tub. A canvas sail provides shade over about half the pool and deck area. The pool is a flow through system so the water never stagnates. And the water is aerated by an air pump/fountain in the center of the pool. There is no sulfur content in the water so no smell. The cool-off stream, maybe 30 feet from the pool, was muddy from heavy overnight rain so we couldn't experience that. No mosquitos or other bugs were evident but that may have been because of the time of day. A couple hummingbirds buzzed around. The changing room is rather spartan but adequate for its purpose. We did not use the shower afterwards so no comments on that. Evidently recognizing that one person or couple in the changing room at a time can make patrons wait, the owners have built a couple changing booths to improve the situation. The cost of $18 for a one hour experience seems to be a fair price, although it probably discourages certain folks. The owners just run a tab so there is no need to decide at the start if you want one hour or two ($31). We thought one hour was perfect. In summary, we thought Giggling Springs was borderline hippie-funky but clean, safe and fun.

While in Jemez Springs for 3 days, my husband and I visited Giggling Springs twice, a total treat and one that added greatly to the relaxing experience of our visit to the area. The cost is the same as the village hot springs and both are nice facilities, but some pluses for us were being able to soak together in a very quiet space and soaking outdoors. The owner, Jim, and his daughter were very, very nice and run the place as a quiet, respectful, laid back respite. It was also very clean, another plus. There were 2 other people soaking at the same time as we were for both of our visits which I thought might have been weird given that the pool is not large, but because the standards for keeping things quiet and respectful are basic rules there, it was totally fine. It didn't hurt that we stayed at the hotel next door to the hot springs as we could just throw on our comfies and flipflops and head on over for a soak--I highly recommend it! Jim was great to chat with and also gave us great recommendations for hiking in the area. Looking forward to our next visit!

Very nice not to busy mostly lookers stopping to check it out. Will be back soon to soak and enjoy the water.

We've brought a large group twice now to giggling springs during a spiritual retreat hoping for privacy, relaxation and peace. However, on both occasions, we experienced the women running it were extremely rude and unfriendly. Not only were they hovering above literally watching our every move, but they neglected to smile or extend any warm welcome. We were charged a fortune for one hour and then were blamed for "breaking" the mister when we used the outdoor hose to rinse off natural clay masks after being told we weren't allowed to use the sink and it would be an additional charge to rinse in the shower. To communicate these things, they shouted at us from the top balcony and then nagged until we all had rinsed. They claim river access but both times were after rain and the "mud" wasn't allowed to be tracked in so we had no access. We were told a charge amount of $15 per person on the phone but when we arrived it was $18 with no discount for a large group (12 people). We tried to relax despite our every move being scrutinized but in the end, we heard "times up" being screamed from the house without any politeness, gratitude or respect. The group I brought could not have been more respectful and mindful of our surroundings, and peaceful in our time there but the behavior of these women thoroughly detoured from our enjoyment of this experience. We will NOT be returning in the future. And I advise these women to relax a little and if they'll be charging so much money for a natural spring, let people get their money's worth!!!

Nice place to stop and relax for an hour or two. The pool is big enough for the allowed 6-8 people and the changing room/shower are very clean. Lots of fun touches like crystals and a path to the river. I would go back. not recommended for lots of kids.

My friend and I stopped here on our way from the Albuquerque airport to our hotel just north of Santa Fe. It was great little side trip! The pool was lovely and in a very peaceful setting. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. At one point, we turned the sign to turn up the heat, and the waterfall started almost immediately. We got some great travel tips from the locals who were in the pool with us. I really liked the little floating chairs. The facility is very clean. The water doesn't smell very strongly of sulfur, and didn't do any damage to my hair or my friend's color treatment. Overall, just a really peaceful, relaxing place to unwind from a long flight. The drive from Giggling Springs to Santa Fe takes you right through Valles Caldera park. It was a very pretty drive in the late afternoon.

We visited this place about a week ago and I really didn't get a great first impression. I thought the rates were high and was surprised that you had to pay extra for the towels and even to take a show afterwards. I also thought that the man-made enclosure around the spring was a little cheesy, reminding me of a water park. But the more I learned about it, the more everything made sense. While the operators watch you like a hawk, they really are protecting the place to keep it as enjoyable and pristine as possible for their guests. The facility apparently doubles as a residence, and if it were my home, I'd be watching folks as well. As long as you follow the rules, your experience can be quite enjoyable, soaking in the hot springs, walking down to the river or just relaxing in many small natural areas with seating areas. Also, our visit was not overcrowded with people, even on Memorial Day weekend. In terms of the water temperature, it was perfect - hot in some areas, less hot in others. Plus they will adjust it for you if you ask.
It's not the natural setting I was expecting (sitting in pools of naturally formed rocks), but it's close to the roadway, well kept and we are glad that we stopped.
For $20/person (including towel rental), it was worth the stop. Just know what to expect and don't break the rules!

Beautiful location particularly after snow fall. There are 4 pools which are located beside the stream - different temperatures. These are natural hot springs and the water is soft and full of minerals. Very mild sulphur smell. This is a gem in the mountains - no reservations and a limit of 30 people at any time makes it even ore special. Not to be missed despite fairly basic changing facilities and one small shower room. Just go prepared, skip the shower and relax!

First time at the Jemez Springs (Giggling Springs). Finally getting a chance to relax from work and from school and stress, this place was definitely a good thing....The owners were amazing and helped us with our needs. I have been a numerous amounts of hot springs but this was above and beyond my expectations. Spent the day with my wife, mother-in-law and son and it was great knowing they all felt relaxed. Thank you to those great ladies for all their help. Hope to be back soon..

Nestled in the Jemez mountains is a secluded Hot Springs which has just become one of our favorites. By going on a sunny Fall weekday we shared this resort with only 3 other couples. There are 3 hot pools of increasing temperature and a cool down pool. Come out of the pool and grab a nearby private Cabana. Food is available if you stay through Lunchtime. Last, I rate all attractions by their employees too. It really improves the overall experience if the Staff is happy with their jobs. They surely were happy here.

It’s only a short drive to Jemez Springs from our place. We love to go and soak for an hour. It feels amazing. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The place is gorgeous! Flowers everywhere. Great view. Yummy smoothies! The berry one is my favorite. My boyfriend loves the hammock. We go back as often as we can.

We had a wonderful time at this hot springs. We were able to rent one of the cabins on the property, which made it so easy to wander the short walk to the springs. There were four pools all different temperatures and depths. It was February so not very crowded. The property was very clean. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. We soaked three days in a row!

It is a 1.5 hr drive from Albuquerque, but the views are beautiful and there are great places to stop and eat/sight see/drink wine. There were 4 pools with varying temps. all were clean and beautiful. there are changing rooms which are chilly to change in the winter, but once you are soaking, you quickly warm up. There are nice lounge chairs to relax on once you warm up. Jemez Creek is right next to the hotsprings so you can hear the sound of water the entire time, which is relaxing. they serve smoothies and they sell towels if you forget yours. However, I would advice you to bring a towel as the entrance fee is fairly steep. $25/hr. A nice treat once in awhile.

Giggling Springs is a wonderful place to relax. I wasn't sure that an hour would be enough, but it's actually the perfect amount of time. The 2 pools are just the right temperature - not so hot you have to sit on the edge to avoid passing out, but hot enough to be relaxing. The flotation noodles/saucers are a nice touch. The price is well worth it considering it's a small business, they limit the number of people at any one time, and the facilities and pools are very clean and well maintained. You can pay extra for a cold iced tea or smoothie to be delivered to you while in the pool.

Spectacular view and experience. A must do if you’re in the area. Excellent customer service as well. I can’t wait to go back another time.

This place looks exactly like the pictures posted by everyone...I take that back. It looks even better, the pictures just doesn't do it justice!! When you enter in the front you might feel like you're in the wrong place but after you walk through to the back it's evident you walked into an oasis. We stayed for two hours and were sad when our time was up. The owners were very hospitable and the place gave me the relaxation I was looking for! If I'm ever back in New Mexico this will be a required stop for me.

The road out of Albuquerque, through Jemez Springs, to Las Alamos had scenery that was spectacularly varied and beautiful - from red rocks that rivaled Sedona to tan sand vistas to pinon pine forests. Right at the midpoint of the trip was the Giggling Springs outdoor mineral hot spring resort. It was love at first sight when I saw it online and it exceeded my expectations! A sacred respect for the water and the land shines in the creative landscaping and statuary. I was moved to leave a small offering on one of the rocks: "In a world where you can be anything - be yourself."

Several good restaurants and cafes. Bars in some. Local craft beers featured in some facilities. Hot springs very affordable and hot! Local art and crafts available at co-ops and stores. Fish the river if you have time. Giggling Springs quite unusual and worth the visit.

We drove from Santa Fe on the northern route through the Douglas fir forest-beautiful drive! We stayed for two hours and were the only guests. It is tranquil, quiet and beautiful. Jim was very attentive and checked in with us often. We drove back the southern route past Albuquerque and both drives were equally beautiful desert scenery. We'll be back the next time we're in New Mexico.

This is such a nice experience and a tranquil setting. Well run, neat and clean. Beautiful setting that has whimsy and beauty every where you look. Super reasonable price for a very nice setting. Watching the sun set from the beautiful and relaxing pool was an awesome end to a very nice day. Thank you Jim.

The Giggling Springs was truly awesome! The setting was very relaxing and the pools were so clean and blue. The staff very friendly and helpful. We had just been to Ojo Caliente and I must say we enjoyed the Giggling Springs just as much or even more.

This was great nice selection of pools with different temperatures …peaceful and quiet atmosphere with lots of changing rooms. Do the 2 hour one for sure one hour would not be long enough in my opinion. The only complaint and very minor one was you had to exit the springs and go outside to order smoothies ..which were really good and reasonably priced. If it wasn’t for this it would’ve been a five star

Giggling springs offers a very well maintained hot springs soak. Tanya's warm welcome began a lovely time for us. The water was warm, the sun was bright, the air was fresh. Well worth the money. Reasonably priced. I recommend this spot!

It was a good hour plus drive from Santa Fe, but it was worth it. We stayed for an hour which was just right. We had thought about staying longer, but an hour was more than enough. I felt a 1960's vibe for sure, a blast from the past. Will look for other "hot springs" during our travels as it was relaxing and a fun event! If your in the area it is a worthwhile stop. Bring a towel, or share one, other than that the only sales pitch was when we were very briefly approached with jewelry etc.

This really was a wonderful experience, with a choice of 5 pools, ranging from coolest to warmest, all looking out . I stayed in the warmest, using their floating "chairs" to zone out. The only reason that I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is that they charge for everything -- water, towels, sandals. It seems to me that, at $25 per person per hour, in a fairly distant location, some amenity should be included. I will say that the minerals seemed to relax my stiff muscles.

We drove from Santa Fe for the second time. Its worth the drive. Great way to spend time with friends relaxing. They’ve created an oasis of relaxation.

What better way to spend relaxing than in natural hot springs in a beautiful place. The owner was great at making us feel welcomed. The surrounding mountains to look at were gorgeous and the landscaping around the springs were beautifully done with flowers and gnomes. They sure looked like they loved being there as much as we did! It was a nice drive from Santa Fe to a remote place in the mountainside. They had 4 pools of hot springs with varying degrees of temperature. Pick one out or do all four and stay a while. You won't regret it. I would recommend this for adults only. Quite lovely!❤👍🏼👍🏼😊

My friends in Santa Fe recommended Jemez Hot Springs... I spent 2 days at Ojo Caliente and loved it and they insisted that before I leave New Mexico I MUST go to Jemez.
What a find, truly spectacular ! Set amongst the most idyllic back drop of natural beauty is the best mineral springs. I was blown away and in awe at how incredibly beautiful the setting is. Jim was so helpful, loved his knowledge and care about the land and the beneficial components of the waters.
It's intimate, beautiful and truly not to be missed... I kept pinching myself and now know where I am going for the fall to replenish from New York City !
Thank YOU !!

I've lived in New Mexico for years but I didn't finally go take the waters at Giggling Hot Springs until October 2015, I wish I had discovered it years earlier. Giggling Hot Springs is a laid back, well taken care of relaxing place to sooth your aches or just chill. They are building a new third pool that should be ready in June 2016, the existing two pools are charming and well situated right by the gurgling Jemez River. Don't miss the opportunity to relax and enjoy yourself here. I love it.

A very clean and relaxing place to soak away your aches and pains in a natural hot spring. Very peaceful and quiet. And we didn't have to hike to it like some of the other ones around. Will go back and recommend this place to anyone going to Jemez Springs.

Fantastic setting, great pool of hot springs, options for relaxation and picnics by the Jemez River, lovely gift shop, two great hostesses. What else do you need to treat yourself to a wonderful hour or day!

Our group of 3 adults went here on our first day of vacation. The springs, that are here include a few separate soaking pools and a barrel shape hot tub. All the areas to soak in, have a different temperature. I thought the barrel tub was the most hot of all .
this is a peaceful place to visit, that encourages well being and happy thoughts. the pools are set along side the nearby river. here you will also find towels, bathrooms, showers, snacks and smoothies for sale, with several lounge chairs and resting areas. the area is open to the public with a cost of $25.00 per person, per hour. We found the best value is rent one of the cabins for an overnight stay and a 2 hour soak per person staying is included with your cost. Had a very enjoyable time here. and the cabin was comfortable as was the beds.

Every month I visit a different mineral spring in New Mexico. Giggling Springs definitely provides the most therapeutic water. This gem of a mineral spring induces a deeper relaxation for me than any other spring in New Mexico. The fact that the spring is right along the river's edge is a bonus as I enjoy the sound of the river while soaking. I pack my own towel and bathrobe but the owners are always quick to offer theirs in case I forget mine. I recommend a visor and sunglasses. There are a couple of shade structures but I find I can relax even more with my sunglasses and visor eliminating squinting.

Historic mineral spring on the banks of the river. Reasonable prices. Relaxing place for achy muscles. Pleasant staff. Beautiful location. Close to the center of town.

I drove out from the Northeast, intending to stay for a bit in Colorado and hike before coming to Santa Fe. A touch of altitude sickness changed my plans and I headed for the lower elevation. I arrived in Santa Fe feeling weary, very sore and not quite acclimated to the altitude. After a night of little sleep, I headed to Giggling Springs for some relief. I was not disappointed! The owner and staff were friendly, courteous, and attentive to my needs. The pools are perfectly clean, clear and have adequate shade from the sun. The changing rooms are so handy and having a shower available is a definite plus. I left after an hour feeling so relaxed and recuperated, with 90% of my body soreness alleviated. Oh, to have a place just like this in New Hampshire! You must come to Giggling Springs and experience this for yourself.

Nestled in a canyon, in a very small town everything is within walking distance. Staying in the cabin was great for decompressing. No TV, no outside noise, and dark skies. Restaurants are 1-3 blocks away. Waking up and hitting the pools at 10am opening was awesome! (Spring morning air temp in the 40’s)
The hot springs were awesome. No giant swimming pool with kids running around. Instead, pools of varied sizes and temperatures next to the Jemez River. There’s shade provided by awnings and plenty of seating area. Everything was clean. The layout also has more privacy - in that the sight lines between the pools are blocked. My (new) favorite hot spring.

This is a nice place to relax for a while and visit an historic native village. There is a nice restaurant with bar where you can sit outdoors on the deck and it is cool, since it is located near the springs.

Our first time was a month ago and we decided to go back again and it was as lovely as last time. Better than Ojo Caliente because there are less people and it's a shorter drive from ABQ. It's right on the river and the views are beautiful. The people who work there are friendly and welcoming. The pools are relaxing and there are tons of places to lounge. We'll be back again.

My daughter(who lives in Espanola) & myself (visiting from Florida) spent a wonderful 2 days in Jemez. The highlight was Giggling Springs, which was so relaxing & well worth the adventure & drive. It was a very unique place. Jim, the manager was great!! Thanks Jim for everything.

My wife and I made our first visit to Giggling Springs on an overcast early midweek afternoon in August. It was perfect. We basically had the place to ourselves although there was nothing to stop others from arriving and entering the comforting waters. We each paid $30 for two hours of a most wonderful soak and felt great the rest of the day. The quality of the water is superb. I also enjoyed the mechanism used to add a bit more heat to the large pool of water - very ingenious!

We spent two hours at Giggling Springs this afternoon and loved every minute. Finding this little out of the way place wasn’t the easiest, but once we walked in to this little bit of paradise, the experience was great. Floating in the 4 different hot springs pools was relaxing and listening to the river running right there added to the atmosphere. Highly recommend this and the drive from Bandelier National Monument was breathtaking.

The Pictures are Much nicer than the actual Springs. The changing booths need regular height seats with hooks to hang ones clothing, etc. when changing. Also, the flowers and bushes needed to be taken care of. Most important is that railing need to be installed for safety when entering and exiting the pools.
On the plus side was that the bathrooms were clean, the staff was nice and the prices are reasonable.

We booked the Red Mesa cabin and it is rustic and nice. However, we booked with Jemez Hot Springs because of the hot springs and were very disappointed that we were unable to use them because they were locked at 5:00 pm and we checked in after 4:00 pm. This business includes renting use of the hot springs, so most tourists are going to expect the hot springs to be available during at least a few evening hours, especially since the earliest check-in time is 3:00 pm. Only allowing access during "banker hours" (9:00 - 5:00) was not what we expected. We do not recommend stopping here during your travels.

We walked in for a dip along our road trip and were greeted with a friendly smile! We knew right away this was a good detour! The grounds are beautiful, staff super friendly. Each pool has the same mineral quality, but each have different temperatures. It's very easy to walk from one to the other. For a while, we even had the place to ourselves! We didn't know ahead of time, but they will serve lunch and smoothies to you while you soak if you'd like! Well worth a visit.

I had long wanted to visit this spot, and it finally happened in early August 2016. We tried each of the five pools, ending up at the far left where a canopy provided some shade at that time of day. The water was warm and relaxing to my arthritic joints. We had visited a hot springs in Idaho last year, and it had more of a children's pool/playground atmosphere. Giggling Springs is a therapeutic haven. Visitors are quiet and respectful of others. As we checked out after a fabulous hour of soaking, I happened to find a beautiful coral necklace in the office area among the other beautiful native jewelry for sale! All in all, a wonderful day!

We traveled from Texas looking for hiking, adventure, and mountain biking. This is the perfect place for all of that and more! Fishing, paddle boarding, and hot springs! Two nights is not enough! So many amazing hikes to take. And we also did half of the half fork eastern loop on bikes, gorgeous views and scenery. Make sure you meet the locals to get correct directions to the best hot spring called San Antonio, kind of hidden off the beaten path. Definitely camping out here often.

I loved this hot springs! My dear friends brought me, to start a trip of cleansing and release in New Mexico. Giggling Springs was the perfect start! I will go back when I'm in the area... I'm addicted and it's quiet & quaint. Perfect for soaking & meditating.

It is clean, well run, with a variety of pools at different temperatures. We went from warm to hot to cool and after we left, felt fantastic all afternoon.

My partner and I truly enjoyed our time here, and it was a great way to end our southwest road trip. The place is extremely clean, and the owner a very sweet, welcoming person. There are pools with different temperatures, and we felt great after our soak. We were by ourselves for most of the time there. I definitely recommend a visit, and we look forward to returning the next time we take another SW trip.

I read about Giggling Springs from the tourist board magazine "New Mexico True" while planning a vacation in New Mexico. Since I was staying in Bernalillo for a bit, and this is only a 45-50 minute drive away, my friends and I decided to go. Going from the ABQ area to Jemez is a GORGEOUS drive. I've never seen red rocks, period, so it was wonderful to see with all the scattered snow.
Anyway, the actual Giggling Springs was great - there's a registration desk/shop and in back are the 2 pools, a restroom and outdoor changing rooms. If you raise a flag, they'll come out and see if you'd like anything to drink (tea, hot cocoa, etc). The scenery around the pools is beautiful and peaceful. Wonderful way to spend 2 hours.

We came here last year for mom's day weekend and love the upgrades. Remember to bring your towels and sit back and enjoy a smoothie. No more reservations are taken but honestly it's large enough for plenty. Service is outstanding and if you come to the springs there are a few spots to stay. A nice break away from Albuquerque.

AMAZING!!! A must stop if you’re nearby. Beautiful scenery, pleasant staff, pleasant patrons. Went on a Saturday after a hike, I bathed in leggings and a tank since we hadn’t planned on this stop. Bathing suit rental would have been $4. I was completely comfortable and at ease in my leggings lol.

No one available to get you to your room . Came 10 minutes earlier and the cleaning lady came right after and started yelling at me being early 5 minutes . We checked the places nearby and we didn’t have time to enjoy the “ supposedly” 2 hour sock . When I contacted the manager “ Liz”. Her email was nasty and refer to me as if I was lying to get to have an extra 2 hours .
The water faucet water pressure almost nonexistent. Don’t even try to take a shower here . The description says they have kitchen : no sink , only a table with few kitchen items

It was a great way to end a long day of hiking. The owner was friendly and helpful. The smoothies were tasty. The springs were clean and relaxing.

Such an AMAZING place! I have been in Albuquerque for a work contract for about 2 months, and came out here for the first time while my boyfriend visited. It was a highlight of his visit, and probably my favorite part of the whole week!
Driving up, scenery is beautiful. Jim (and I forgot the woman's name) warmly greeted us and showed us around before we even paid. They have changing stalls and restrooms, as well as 4 different pools of varying temperatures. They also have pool floaties, which are great for relaxing and actually being in the water, as opposed to being short like me and the water comes up to your nose when you try and sit in it. $25 for one hour, $40 for two -- we stayed for two hours, but probably would have been OK with just 1.5 hours.
The last hot springs I went to was the technically-defunct-but-still-naturally-occurring hot springs in Big Bend National Park, so to go to a more modern and intact hot springs was an awesome experience. Two whole hours of just pure relaxation in the Jemez Mountains. I mean, really, what more could you want?! A smoothie? Well, they've got them! I had the coconut/pineapple and my boyfriend had a blueberry/raspberry. Both were delicious, and the perfect coolness to counteract the hot springs.
Jim was really helpful, and came out to serve us our smoothies smoothly (ha), without having to worry about payment, they simply start a tab for you and you pay on your way out. He offered us great information about the pool and advice on how to get the most out of the minerals in the water. He came out often during our two hours to check on everyone, and was even keeping up with the temperatures of the pools.
Beautiful scenery, the whole way back to Albuquerque I couldn't stop gushing about this amazing place and how the perfect relaxation was JUST what I needed. Thanks again!

What an amazing find outside of Albuquerque. This place was so great my wife took my son who is attending UNM and he now goes all the time.

This place was amazing, it was peaceful and enjoyable. The scene around the area is nice and the people are very friendly. The lady explained everything to us before we went in. I hope to go back soon and I would recommend people to go visit.

Clean and calm. Well curated. Sweet staff. Too bad it’s not really accessible. Very. Relaxing. Worth it.

My husband and I visited this place and we loved it! The trip there, up the Jemez Trail, was an unexpected, amazing treat! By the time we reached the place it was storming! We visited the shop and talked to the guy working there. The shop was full of cool things for sale, and the guy was really great! He did his best to make sure we could get in. We had to wait and come back when the storm broke. The gods smiled on us, it cleared up as we entered the pool and seemed as of it had never stormed at all. It was warm and relaxing. Not as warm as most hot tubs, I wish it was hotter. There was a rather annoying couple that joined us, too. But it was still a great experience. They had hummingbird feeders everywhere, and there were about a dozen hummingbirds very close to us. They were fascinating to watch. I wish kids could get in, too. It's not too hot for kids. The price wasn't too bad, though.

Great quiet hot springs. Pictures look a bit deceiving on the web until you check in at the entrance. This is is NOT a fancy spa...just wonderful hot spring pools. Clean and well kept! We were 2 of 4 people on a Friday at 11. They limit the number of people so call ahead. Swimming suits required but no one under 14. hidden gem! It is right across the street from the church. Blink and u pass it by!

This hot springs has some very nice pools and is in a pretty well thought-out and cared for garden. It was nice to lay back in the pools and watch the little creek run by. The only thing I could say towards the negative would be the fact that you pay to soak by the hour - something I had never experienced at any other hot spring. This could help keep the pools from over crowding though... Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area and enjoy hot springs.

This is a charming, rustic hot springs in Jemez Springs.
Beautiful pools, next to the Jemez river.
It's well organized and has everything you need; towels, robes, bottle of waters all for sale/ or rent.
The winding drive through the Jemez valley sets a slow pace. Not a fancy spa; just instant relaxation.
I am going to make it a regular excursion.

My friends and I spent 2 hours in the springs and we enjoyed every minute. It's a very relaxing environment and the water is restorative. It is very rustic which is evident by the pics so make sure that's what you want before you go. I will definitely go back. Also, check out the jewelry in the gift shop!

My wife and I have enjoyed many hot springs in this country and Europe. Giggling Springs in Jemez New Mexico is a beautiful location, outstanding presentation, and hospitable accommodation. The hot tub and surrounding structures are picturesque and wonderfully maintained. We really appreciated the cleanliness of the area, changing rooms, and restrooms. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Based upon our experience, we can strongly recommend Giggling Springs!

This is what the rooms really look like very unhappy with our stay, and very unhappy with management had to leave due to un unfortunate circumstances, and still got charged for our stay, even though we didn’t stay

We feel like we have discovered a fabulous hidden gem. The spring is beautiful and the water was amazing. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting we thought the owner/managers were excellent hosts. You could tell they really wanted everyone to have a great time. The service was fantastic! I can't wait to plan another trip back with my girlfriends!

We were hiking the east fork of the Jemez River when a severe thunderstorm drenched us with driving rain and the wind. We were an hour from the car and hiked back soaked through and through. We needed the heat on full blast to warm up and decided to head to Jemez Hot Springs. When we arrived the power was out but the staff was so helpful. They encouraged us to wait and sure enough, they were able to get the pools heated up and we spent a few hours enjoying ourselves. I loved the attention to detail, beautiful flowers, immaculate pathways, very friendly staff, just a perfect place to spend a few hours.

The grounds were very cool to look at. They had two comfy hammocks and delicious smoothies. The proprietors would bring your smoothies spring side if you wanted them. There was a cold stream behind the hot spring to cool off if needed. We stayed a little over an hour and really enjoyed ourselves. It would be a great place to throw out a yoga mat, practice and then sit in the spring. Interesting place and worth the price if you don't want to hike to a hot spring in the mountains.

Very relaxing, quiet, clean and comfortable. Took my wife to Jemez for a retreat and read about the giggling springs/Jemez hot springs so I thought it would be nice to experience. Check in was easy, hostess escorted us and showed where restrooms, changing locations, pool locations etc. The water was nice, atmosphere was appealing/relaxing, even had floaters and tubes. Ordered smoothies and hostess delivered to our lounge area.. will be back.

This was a well planned 2 hours by my friends in ABQ! The day was lovely (mid-April) and the springs were perfect! Even the rushing river out back was soothing for my soul. Don't change! Keep being rustic! Loved the atmosphere!

Giggling Springs is a funky hot springs with the most beautiful Turquoise water. There is a nominal fee to use the property, but they limit the number allowed in. We were the only people there. The Springs are on the bank of the Jemez River with landscaped grounds, hammock, chairs, dressing rooms and an old cabin. Nice people run the place. Definitely worth it.

Staff was VERY accommodating for our group! With the renovations of additional pools - you can select your temperature pool to soak in and just relax. Recommend anyone to go and try...soak in the natural minerals (skin feels great afterwards), take in the beauty of the surrounding mountain range and for a short time just forget all the craziness of the outside world. Pools, lounging areas, changing rooms - exceptionally clean.

A lovely spot. Very clean water. Helpful staff. Like limits on number of soakers and nice spot by river. Recommend 2 hour soak.

Husband and I checked out the Giggling hot springs while on a day trip to the Jemez from ABQ. We're both huge fans of hot springs soaks, and had such a wonderful experience here we're now putting this place on our "top five soaks of all time" list. The atmosphere is completely tranquil, the service friendly, and being there in early October meant that we were treated to lovely views of fall foliage in the mountains surrounding the property. There's also the peaceful sounds of the river babbling over rocks in the river that runs directly behind the hot springs tubs. There are numerous tubs you can try - two hot pools - one is very hot, the other moderately so - a large warm pool, and a cold plunge type pool. The property also has numerous lounge chairs, hammocks, etc. - plus there are some shady spots in most of the pools, if you need a break from the sun. The mineral water itself is extremely refreshing - husband and I left feeling much better than we did when we walked in, after 2 hours of soak time. All in all, we had an excellent experience and highly recommend.

Really liked the hot springs but wouldn't choose this over other options simply because of the cost. Roughly $20 for an hour?! We could spend all day at Ten Thousand Waves for $26. So, have to pass next time.

beautiful, clean, gorgeous, friendly... i could spend alot of time here very easily... if only i lived close by... sigh...

We drove 5 hours from Colorado to complete our trip here in the mountains. Beautiful grounds, 4 pools ranging from 89 to 104 degrees. We had a lovely time.

Giggling Springs Hot Springs in Jemes, NM is a lovely jewel of a spa in a small setting. We stopped in one chilly day, getting into the hot mineral spring just ahead of a light rain. It was so lovely and relaxing to be in the hot and soothing water and watch the light rain falling on the mountains around the community. I loved being there and will return every chance I get.

We experienced the Springs as a therapeutic respite. The staff was lovely and informative and the place is clean. A wonderfully rustic area in the mountains. Don't miss it.

Jemez Hot Springs is awesome! Four pools to choose from, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, tranquil surroundings and relaxation galore! I will be back!

I called last night You said you would be open today
I give you a ZERO or F because you don't even know you are closed on Easter!!
I wasted gas and 1 hr going there and 1 hr coming right back home.

Perfect gem of a place to rest and relax in the heated spa waters. We stayed in one of the cabins and couldn't have been happier with the comfortable, quiet, well equipped and nicely decorated cabin. The fact that we were also given 2 complimentary hours in the spa with our booking, was a wonderful treat. The staff were friendly and we loved the tasteful spiritual touches added to the various pools that made this place such a great place for personal reflection.

We spent an hour at the G.S.'s, it's a funky place in a very funky town. Grounds are well kept as were the buildings, hot spring tub was a manufactured pool with an aerater and a valve to let the hot water in. Not the best springs but it is relaxing and they do try and give you a good experience. Summer is hot so a cooler season would be better.
All in all a decent experience, some of the natural springs that you hike to would be better. Cheaper too.

We drove to Giggling Springs to have a long day of relaxation. The blonde lady that greeted us was rude & condescending. She offended me twice with her demeanor & comments. My husband wanted me to at least purchase something for myself in the small gift-shop, but I refused. We had planned on making a fun day, but she ruined it for us.

My friend and I we're visiting New Mexico from Texas and stayed in Albuquerque. The hour drive from Albuquerque was beautiful, so much so that we stopped twice to take pictures. Driving through the mountains was a a little challenging as it began to rain causing rocks to fall from the mountains and creating some streams on the road, but the roads department was quick to clear the way for safe travels.
The Giggling Springs Hot Springs are nestled in the landscaping and created a most enjoyable atmosphere. The springs were warm (102-104 degrees), if it was too warm you could move further from the spring and still enjoy the water. The neighboring creek and surrounding mountains were beautiful! We shared the spring with 7 other people and enjoyed visiting everyone during our two hour stay. The price was great and I definitely plan to return someday with my husband.

It was lightly raining and cool, which made for a great, relaxing atmosphere.
Except for the non-English speaking Americans, who couldn't talk without shouting how hot the water the was (101-102 degrees, depending on where you were sitting). Thankfully they left after 30 minutes and we sprang $18 for another hour without loud, rude, obnoxious foreigners!
But it's well worth it, but a word of advice, check to see who you're sharing the pool with!

It's a little off the beaten path, but it's well worth finding. It's an easy drive from Albuquerque, too. The young ladies who were working at the front were very friendly and very helpful without being too pushy. The facility was very nice, somebody has spent a lot of money, time and effort on this place and it looks great. The pools were just the right size and temperature, and it was not crowded at all. Nice place to relax and spend time with family and friends. Oh and the view is very nice too.

My sister and I stopped at Jemez Spring, hoping to take a soak at the publicly owned bathhouse. However the bathhouse was fully booked and the staff recommended that we try Giggling Springs nearby. So glad we did.
First of all, the soaking pools of Giggling Springs are located outdoors where you can see the beautiful Jemez Mountain and hear the babbling Jemez River running by the pools. By contrast, a soak at the local bathhouse takes place indoors in a concrete tub.
Secondly, the water at this springs is heavy mineralized. Per recommendation, we did not shower after our soak and allow the beneficial minerals to work their magic for the rest of the day.
Thirdly, we were fortunate that we had the facility to ourselves on a Friday afternoon in mid-April.
One of the soaking pool has a small canopy for shade. Both pools have built in seating. On the day we went it was sprinkling a little and the rain was quite refreshing in the hot pool. On this rainy day, potential lightening was not a problem, and the helpful, personable staff person at Giggling Springs kept an eye on the lightening alert on her phone.
There is a drink flag by the soaking pool that one can raise to alert the staff that you want to order drinks. Giggling Spring also has a gift shop with an amazing array of beautiful and unique jewelry at very reasonable prices.
For only $20--an one-hour soak cost only $18 and another $2 to rent a towel—you will leave totally relaxed and and so content.

Things to improve: Give a 1.5 hr option, seats in the changing rms, more than a trickle of cold water in the shower.
This is a pleasant venue, w/ a lovely setting. JSH is an updated, more contemporary version of the Jemez hot spring experience. Not as rooted in the decades-long soaking life here, yet more palatable to "modern" folk putting their feet in the water, for the 1st time or otherwise.. Jemez Spgs is an authentic NM destination, for those who want to tap in the timeless. Enjoy

Spectacular location and amazing experience. There are about 5 small pools and we thoroughly enjoyed soaking in them. It does seem to have healing energies as by the end of an hour we were considerably relaxed and feeling lighter.

There are many places to go to hot springs in NM-I have only been to two other places. This one is my favorite so far. Why? It has a wonderful unpretentious feel to it and you get to be outdoors taking in the amazing blue sky against the deep red canyon walls. We were able to soak in the spring water with our friends who were visiting from out of town.
Our host was warm, friendly and helpful. The price is reasonable and covers an hour of soaking. There are multiple changing rooms and a bathroom is available as are beverages. Definitely a place we will return to.

I fell at work over a month ago and bruised my coccyx so badly that I could barely sit, and when I could sit carefully, getting up was far worse. I knew I had to go to Giggling Springs where I could put my injury right against the incredible hot waters that only flow there. After I arrived home later that night, I could actually sit and get up without any pain. I am an idiot for not doing this immediately because an entire week would have been pain free for me. The healing and love that anyone seeks (no matter who you are) is waiting for you here in the most beautiful place on earth. I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went and were excited to visit this place but at $25 per person for 1 hour it was a hard pass for us. There are several beautiful and free places nearby. This seems a bit tourist trapy.

I have been to innumerous Hot and Mineral springs throughout the US and I fell in love with the water here with my first soak 3 years ago. There is a sacredness that surrounds this property and the vistas and natural surroundings make for an amazing experience. With the newest additions it truly feels like a mountain oasis.

I am a big fan of hot springs and have spent time at many throughout the years, including a number of them in New Mexico. This was my first visit to Giggling Springs, located in the heart of Jemez Springs, one of the loveliest areas in New Mexico.
Although this location only has one larger hot spring that accommodates about 10 people, they do take reservations which keeps it from being overcrowded like other places I have been to. We visited on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and there were only 3-4 of us in the hot spring at any one time. Mornings seem less busy. They will secure your reservation with a credit card, but do prefer cash if you are able to pay this way. You can do an hour, or do the whole day if they don't have any bigger groups booked. We chose to do 2 hours, which was just perfect!
The facilities including the hot spring that is part sun, partly covered as well as a couple sitting areas. There is a bathroom nearby as well as some simple changing rooms. There is an indoor shower adjacent to the bathroom if you want to take a shower afterwards, for a $5.00 fee. They also serve cold drinks including fresh ice tea and smoothies if you would like any beverages, and will bring them directly to you in the hot springs.
If you are coming from a local spot, I suggest you bring your suit, water shoes, a towel, robe or cover up and something to drink. Snacks if you plan to be there awhile. There are places to eat nearby as well. They ask no sunscreen on your body while in the springs, although on your face and neck is fine. Bring a hat and definately stay hydrated! If you are traveling and don't have as many of these things with you, you can buy just about anything in the gift shop you may need.
And the gift shop, definitely worth a visit by the shoppers. We found some awesome jewelry and skin care products there today to take with us back home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Giggling Springs and found the staff there very friendly and accommodating both before our visit and during our time there. Note that I had to change my reservation time three times during the process of planning to go there, and they were very cool about.
We hope to go back for another visit this fall!

My wife (Claudia)and (Ron) travel to Jemez on a regular basis. We love Giggling Hot Springs. The facilities are clean, the cliffs beautiful, the river ambience always relaxing. Tanya is a great host and we find the experience always relaxing and enjoyable. The trip is very affordable, we think a great value......eat, hike, fish and then hit the hot springs!!!!!!!

This was my favorite part of the trip. It was little mini paradise. The staff was very friendly and amazingly attentive. The pool was perfect, clean and refreshing.

Great spot! We did the 1 hour soak, tried all 4 pools of different temperatures. Clean, highly recommend!

Giggling Springs was such a nice and relaxing way to end our pretty active vacation in New Mexico. We had never visited the state and were looking forward to experiencing new things in a variety of cities across northern and central NM. Giggling Springs was an awesome and unique way to see Jemez Springs and it was so fun and different from anything we had ever done! The facility was incredibly clean and we had no hesitations about going in the water. The set-up was adorable and we had spectacular views of the mountains as well. Not to mention, the drinks that Jim made for us were delicious and the perfect way to cool off! Jim was great and he even made awesome recommendations for things to do and places to eat around town after. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to go back one day!

I particularly enjoyed the pristine water, the temps were perfect. A dip to cool off in the river is awesome - wear water shoes in the river. Well maintained and staff very

We were so blessed to chance upon this place while just passing through Jemez. Usually one needs a reservation, but we were able to walk in and be the only ones there! The spring pool was not just lukewarm like other springs I've been to, but hot like 104ish I would say. The owner was extremely amiable and even gave of her time to answer my questions about New Mexico and the people who live there. The facilities were clean and really instilled a sense of paradise with the beautiful garden and community of hummingbirds. We now feel completely rejuvenated after being on the road for a month. I urge you to spend some of your lifetime to experience this place if in the area

This place is so relaxing and the recent renovations are fantastic. The healing mineral water is always refreshing for the body and soul! Great atmosphere. Will be back ASAP.

What a gem in the middle of the red rocks. Staff was friendly, the water temperature was perfect, and the sound of the river and the shimmering oak leaves fluttering in the wind made for a truly relaxing experience.

Wonderful out of the way place for a nice relaxing mineral soak. Within 1 to 1 1/2 hours from Albuquerque. If your traveling to Los Alamos and Bandolier National Monument this is a great place to go after long day of hiking, walking, driving. Great site seeing road through the mountains.

Don’t miss the Jemez Hot Springs (formerly Giggling hot springs) on your next winter getaway. We traveled from Tucson through New Mexico hitting trails, historic sites and hot springs, and this was our fave. Every level of heat in multiple pools in a beautiful, riverside setting. We had it to ourselves at 11 am in the middle of the week! Excellent food and a historic bar found in the same town. Perfect!

We were looking for something different and found this referral at the visitors center in Santa Fe.
We stayed for an hour and feel outstanding!! The pool areas are clean and extremely well appointed. There changing rooms and cabana areas that make it seem like you are in a fancy resort area. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We loved our experience and highly recommend this stop. Prices were reasonable.

We went for the two hour package and left so relaxed. The hot springs was a wonderful relaxing retreat where you can escape for a day or a couple hours. Very clean and such beautiful surroundings. The drive to get there was also beautiful. If I lived closer I'd want to go regularly to center and relax!

Outdoor pools of different temperatures was great. Dressing rooms and private lounging areas. We loved it. Not easy to see down a tiny lane one block off highway

I was not sure what to expect from my visit to the hot springs, and honestly, it was totally not what I expected. My daughter recently turned 26, and as part of a birthday gift I wanted to take her away from her every-day extremely busy life. So I searched places in NM where we could just spend some time and relax and I found Jemez Springs. I thought this place would be perfect, hiking, hot springs, wineries - all the things she likes. I expected guided hiking tours, busy restaurants, and over-priced shops with that crowded tourist feel that you experience in so many places. Having never been to Jemez Springs, it definitely was not what we thought it would be. It was as though we had taken a trip back in time. Everything was relaxed and uncrowded, and people treated us as though they had known us forever. This ended up being exactly what both my daughter and I needed. We stayed in the Inn next door to the springs and decided to check it out. I must admit, from the parking lot point of view it didn't look like anything spectacular, and I was worried my daughter would not be impressed with her gift, but I was wrong. Staff were so helpful, answered all of our questions, and let us see the springs before we made the decision to stay. Once again when we walked in, it was like stepping into a different world. It was amazing. It was hard to believe that you could just walk out of this little room into this beautifully landscaped mini paradise. My daughter immediately made her decision to stay. I have never been to any hot springs before, and did not know exactly what to expect, but when we stepped into the pools, we instantly knew that this was a different experience than a hot tub or ordinary pool. We could actually feel the rejuvenating and relaxing effects of the mineral water on our skin. Instantly our skin became softer and the tension in our muscles began to melt. We tried every one of the pools which all seemed to be set at different temps. The sound of the river behind us added to our complete relaxation. I had previously thought about taking her to 10,000 Waves, but I wanted her to have a different experience, not just the experience of another hot tub. So glad I chose the hot springs instead. Also heard about the free springs in the mountains from my son-in-law who had hiked passed them before. Was not impressed with his description which was why I was more than happy to pay for our experience at Giggling Springs. I did not regret my decision. I read some of the reviews of Giggling Springs prior to going there, and am shocked by the few low-scoring ones, but you can't please everyone. As for the complaints about the price, for the amount of work these ladies put into this, the price is worth it. Will definitely go back. Was also impressed at the fact that there was a response to all of the reviews. Wow, for them to take their time to do that, says something. Sad to see that it's being sold and am hoping that whoever buys this, puts as much heart into this beautiful place as what they have.

High in the stunning Sangre de Cristo range of the Rockies, Giggling Springs could make all other hot springs seem disappointing. The setting, views, perfect sulfur-free water, and naturally and culturally sensitive facility design made this a heavenly experience.

Jemez Springs: Home of the Giggling Hot Springs is a magical spot that does wonders for your body and soul. Private and public at the same time, it is an oasis in gorgeous Jemez, New Mexico. I received tender loving kindness and time alone to soak my soul.

This little gem near is a fabulous day trip from ABQ or Santa Fe, the staff and guests are always so friendly we always meet new people from all over the world when we visit. They have delicious healthy beverages ( wish they had food, but we always hop over to the Saloon across the street for lunch or dinner, or an after soak cocktail. They only allow 20-30 people at a time and no reservations. However it's never crowded during the week, and we only had to wait a half hour on a very busy weekend one time of the many we have gone.
They have rental towels in case you forgot yours that are nice and fluffy.
And hour is great sometimes we do two, the springs are perfect and they have several pools at varying Temps, lots of places to relax, and you can hear the river running all around the property.
We enjoy it in the summer and even when there's snow.

My husband and I stopped at Giggling Hot Springs on our way from Santa Fe back down to Albuquerque. We didn't know what to expect, as we had been to another hot springs north of Taos that we felt would be hard to beat. Giggling Hot Springs was outstanding and we could not have asked for more. The setting is serene and relaxing. The hot springs were the perfect temperature for relaxing. The grounds are beautifully maintained and postcard perfect. The hosts were accommodating, friendly, and we enjoyed meeting them. On the way out I browsed the gift shop and bought a beautiful pendant - their jewelry selections were very very nice. I highly recommend these springs; they were a major highlight of our vacation.

My husband and I were referred by a friend. We just recently got married and she and her husband had gone and she thought we would like it. It was very romantic, peaceful, a place to chill and take in the beauty. I would highly recommend this little oasis in the middle of the mountains. Wanda

Stayed at the property and enjoyed the hot springs with my 16 year old daughter. The condo was beautiful and recently updated. The pools were perfect. The little town was so cute and friendly.

This was an amazing visit. Clean, uncrowded. We were able to move and choose which pool we wanted to soak in. Brought our own towels and a change of clothes for after 2 hour soak experience. Poolside tea and beverage were delicious. Staff was polite and instructive. Enjoyed this!

I am so happy I heard about this hidden away gem in Jemez Springs. We had spent the day at a festival about an hour away and decided to come here to relax. It was as beautiful and relaxing as the reviews had said. The owner has made lovely gardens around several different pools of mineral spring water and the views from the mineral pools are very pretty. Each pool is a different temperature. They have all kinds of floats to use if you want to just float in the water. They also make yummy smoothies and have other beverages and snacks. It was very quiet, clean and there were changing rooms and a bathroom. The staff is very friendly and gave us a tour before we signed up for an hour soak. Remember to turn where the sign for "Giggling Springs" is. Our GPS took us to the wrong road a bit pass the sign.

My husband and I visited this morning and were pleasantly surprised at this beautiful oasis. The owners were so welcoming and we ended up having the whole place to ourselves. We only soaked for an hour but I wish we could've stayed all day. So worth the trip!!!

Fantastic mineral hot springs!
Beautiful area and a total relaxing environment. The accommodations are nice (not luxurious but very comfortable).

The entire area was very well laid out and artfully done. All the buildings were well in good repair and the grounds were well maintained. The staff was friendly and offered great advice with regards to our upcoming hike. We stayed for an hour but could have stayed all day. One of the staff brought me a sparkling water right to the pool I was in. I highly recommend this place! Jemez Springs was truly a beautiful stop on our week long travels through NM!

Small, wonderful spring fed pool. There is shade for when you need it! The spring is not nearly as hot as in Truth or Consequences, which in my opinion is a plus. You can enjoy your full hour in the water! It's a little spendy, but very relaxing!

My Wife and I truly enjoyed our time here. The two hot springs pools are highly mineralized and you can see all the minerals floating in the water. The scenery is breath taking and the Jemez river and its sounds are in the background which was very relaxing. The grounds are quite artistic and admirable. The staff was attentive and she made us some delicious smoothies. She also helped my wife find some local artist jewelry in their gift shop. Very kind and my wife loved it. We will be returning and it's definitely a must stop.

We are on vacation in northern NM and decided to explore Jemez Springs area. This place is a GEM!! clean...friendly...the owners are perfect hosts and the pools are perfect. In fact, if time allows we are going back before we go home. We are already planning a long weekend with friends in the future. Giggling Springs is our "ah ha" moment if rest, rejuvenation and healthy soaking.

I was worried that hot springs on a cool fall day would be uncomfortable. I wasn't worried about when in the pools, but was worried about getting out and dressing. Here's what worked for me: Start in one of the med temp pools. Enjoy as long as you can take it. The coolest pool is great for staying warm enough, but not too warm, so take a break in there once in a while.
Then, 5 or 6 minutes before your time is done (and it will go quickly), relax in the hottest pool for as long as you can stand it, or until your time in the pools is up. That heat will carry you easily while you grab your clothes and a changing room and get toweled off and dressed.
Other things I wish I would have known: Bring a bag for your clothes. There are no lockers, so we put our stack of street clothes and towels on a chair and moved them with us when we went from pool to pool. Would have been much easier with a bag.
The time begins when you sign in and ends when you sign out and is supposed to include dressing and undressing. So your hour session isn't an hour in the pools.
There is one shower, but we were advised not to shower when done, as the minerals are good for your skin. I was worried the mineral water might make my hair straw. I didn't rinse it after and it dried soft and nice. So have no fear.
You can bring your own water bottle (no glass). You'll want water, for sure.
If there's no room to park near the door, there is a parking lot up on the road.
This was a wonderful experience, well worth the admission cost. Wish I lived closer!
(4 stars instead of 5 because I could have used a bit more direction when I arrived. Maybe signage as to which pool is which, or how to juggle dry clothing, etc.)

The environment is very peaceful. Stayed at inn next door , just walked to. Conveniently located in heart of Jemez.. The springs are at temperatures you can enjoy even if warm outside. They have sitting areas from in the sun to under beautiful patio settings. They offer smoothies & other drinks to quench your thirst. Hammocks are located off the river to lay & relax in & listen to the water flowing. This is a peaceful and wonderful place to relax & rejuvenate. I certainly did.

A gorgeous place with a kind staff. We went for my husband's birthday and had a wonderful, relaxing soak. We felt incredibly rejuvenated by the water and inspired by the incomparable views. Thanks!

We love this hot springs. It has a nice relaxed feel to it. You are outside, so you can gaze at the sky, the beautiful surrounding cliffs and trees. It is quiet and peaceful. There are chairs to lounge around on as well as changing room and a restroom outside. The staff will bring you a specialty coffee or beverage of your choice. The number of people allowed is limited. I would suggest making reservations.

Giggling springs was one of the most beautiful, relaxing places I've ever experienced! 5 different pools offering different temperatures. Each of the views are absolutely stunning. If you get tired of laying in the mineral-soaked pools, lay in one of the many hammocks or rest on the variety of lounge chairs. If you enjoy nature, there are plenty of flesh flowers and humming bird feeders that attract many beautiful colored birds and bees! And don't get me started on the staff and service- 10/10!!! She gave our family of 6 a tour of the grounds and served us the most refreshing smoothies to take in the springs (I recommend the coconut pineapple or the strawberry banana ones). I am so blessed to have come here to have this experience :) ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND and need to spend at least a half day here if you're near Santa Fe/Alburquerque area

Thank you for the quiet and tranquil setting. I truly enjoyed the meditation pool, basking in the sunshine and floating watching the clouds drift by. The pineapple/coconut smoothy was brought out to the pool. And I will say that I had a very rare treat, the wildfire had started up on Hwy 4 and I had the entire hot springs to myself! Now that's what I call living right.

Friendly staff - nice accommodations - They had just opened up one of the newer springs. I cant wait to go back in the winter months!

My husband and I recently viseted looking for a relaxing day trip/getaway.
Right away we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff which made the experience that much better! Not only were the hot springs in a beautiful location but there were multiple temperatures to suit our comfort. Recommended to all my family and friends! We will be going back soon!

The hot springs are well maintained in a beautiful location in the Village of Jemez Springs with views of the mountains. There are three recently renovated cabins for rent, and cabin rental includes two hours of access to the pools. In a visit earlier this month my cabin, which had a non-ventilated, open flame propane stove, had no smoke or carbon monoxide detectors in the room. The owner was notified and now reports that new detectors have been installed in all three cabins. The hot springs and cabins are close to the Highway 4 Cafe (breakfast and lunch), Los Ojos Restaurant (lunch and dinner), and the village plaza.

I have been to a lot of hot springs and found this one to be absolutely enchanting. As you wind around the small but beautiful grounds there are several different pools to choose from. The hot ones are HOT. There are lots of spots to sit/lay and zone out. The stream that winds along the back side of the hot springs provides soothing background noise. There are time limits to how long you can stay at the springs and you can purchase a couple different lengths depending on how long you want to be there. It wasn't really big deal but I could see how that might be a little frustrating if you had traveled a long way and wanted to linger longer. However, it did keep it from being overcrowded which was a big plus, in my opinion. I will definitely be back and explore around Jemez a little more, it's a unique place.

My husband and I went here based on previous reviews and it did not disappoint. There are several pools (all with different temperatures) and a river you can soak in. The river was closed when we went due to the time of year. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. Everything was immaculately clean. It’s a relaxed atmosphere too with a mixture of clientele- kids under 14 years old are not permitted in. It keeps it quiet and relaxing. We had poolside beverage service that was quick and reasonably priced. Will return here in the future for sure. Couldn’t be happier with the entire experience and environment.

Went with a friend in early October and spent two hours luxuriating in waters that felt soft and healing. The hot pool is really hot, and soaked away the arthritis aches and pains. Moved from pool to pool, enjoyed them all. Stunning setting, lovely ambience, very friendly staff.

My daughter in love bought me an hour and Best Present/Most appreciated award to Gen. Going to take son and go back for 1/2 day r and r moment.

An absolutely lovely place, truly a hidden gem. The grounds invoke harmony and a meditative state, and the pools are pristine. I loved how QUIET it was -- the people who were there spoke only in whispers, and this is so important to the peacefulness. The only suggestion I would make to the new owner would be to add a bathroom/toilet. I spent 10 minutes of my precious hour waiting for the one toilet on the premises to be free. Otherwise, a perfect experience. Highly recommend for a soak in the midst of the New Mexican desert.

Giggling Hot Springs was recommended to us by a local while we were visiting the area. Our first impression upon arrival was not what we expected. Quite humble. But we decided to give it a chance and entered the small office/store. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We opted for a one-hour soak that included a bottle of water and towel for each of us.
There are two pools, not very large, one is hotter than the other (too hot for me!). The pool area is decorated nicely with small sculptures and plants. There are small changing booths and a restroom. They serve lattes, grappa ibis and other beverages. There are also a few tables, chairs, and lounge chairs.
The warm pool was delightful. Very relaxing. An hour was the perfect amount of time to soothe tired muscles and shut the world out for a time.

Hot tub went out at Canon Del Rio so I got to soak in the Giggling Springs for free on my Birthday trip to CDR! Such a wonderful place, highly recommend!

The area is nice and people are very sweet however the management of this facility is horrible. I highly recommend looking for other options as long as this current management in place ( very disrespectful to guests).

Enjoyed the hot springs & felt they took plenty of precautions for Covid - we could move between the 4 pools as we wished. We had a perfect 51 degree day.

This place is a work in progress with some construction going on. I didn't find that a bother. The grounds are pretty and peaceful and the pools are nice and clean. I soaked for an hour and was really relaxed! There isn't a lot of shade over the pools but enough to make me happy. I look forward to a return trip to see the newest pool's shade structure all finished. The staff is very helpful. I loved the gift shop too. They have T-shirts, jewelry, art and other things to temp you.

Beautiful setting for natural hot springs. The proprietor was friendly and helpful. Be sure to try her delicious Smoothies.

Giggling springs is the cutest hot spring I've been to yet. Great service, great hostess and very decent pricing. Both pools were at a perfect temperature and the entire property was very clean. Our entire experience was very relaxing and enjoyable, It felt like an oversized, private and very comfy backyard space. Will definitely be returning in the near future!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The host made us feel at home, and we just loved it there. The temp outside was a bit chilly, and the snow was falling off and on, but the water in the pool was perfect. The mineral springs were just what we needed. Highly recommend a visit to this wonderful place. Be sure and call for directions!

My friend and I went to Jemez to explore the hotsprings. We went on the website and saw how much it cost to go to Jemez hot springs and debated going...and when you first drive up to it, you can only see an old wood fence, a little entrance building and it's next to the historic bathhouse...I was not entirely convinced at first.
But we went and talked to the staff and he gladly showed us around before we decided to pay...and wow, beyond the fence it was absolutely amazing. We went for one hour and it was more relaxed than I had ever been at a hot springs...it far surpassed the ambiance of Ojo Caliente in my opinion! There are 4 pools with different temperatures so you can find your perfect fit. The water is truly magical!
Also it has been recently renovated and so much love and attention went into every detail. The result is very serene, with beautiful altars, statues and trails between the pools. A big highlight too is they do pool-side drink service, so you can feel spoiled while you relax!
The staff is extremely friendly and does a great job keeping the pools as natural and clean as possible which I really appreciated.
If you're going anywhere near Jemez, I highly advise spending at least an hour at these hot springs!!

Drove out from Santa Fe in late November the roads can be icy but definitely worth the trip Brought me back in time

The hot springs are delightful, have breathtaking scenery, and don't have the sulfur smell at all like other hot springs, Michelle made our visit very enjoyable and I found the art, jewelry in the gift shop and the frozen, non-alcoholic drinks to be just the right compliment to a very enjoyable 4th of July! Thanks again!

My son and I visited Albuquerque and surrounding areas. After a fun ride up the Sandia tram and hiking around the mountain we drove to Jemez Hot Springs. What a beautiful place with several pools for soaking and relaxation! They even had "floaties" to use located at each pool. There were several dressing rooms for changing and all were clean. The ambience and total setting was perfect and we'll recommend to friends.

The staff treat you like you are family, taking the time to explain the layout and the pools. There are 4 pools feed by underground hot springs, each one is a different temperature, and a different beautiful setting. It is amazing to have the pool to yourself, looking into the mountains, or hearing the stream running by. The grounds are very beautiful, rocks, wood, plants, flowers, a true creation of an artist- Jim the manager. My wife and I try to go once a week, driving from ABQ. The drive is beautiful as well. I really think this is one of the nicest hidden gems New Mexico has to offer.

Jemez hot springs is a hidden gem! Wonderful, helpful staff and the atmosphere delightful. If you enjoy watching hummingbirds it is the place to be. Pools/springs were intimate ,relaxing . 5 stars!!!!

I initially booked one hour but had such a terrific time that I extended for another hour. The owner was kind and made a delicious smoothie for me. She recommended a local place for lunch when I asked. The water feels wonderful and I left feeling very refreshed. I want to go back someday.

Me & a girlfriend did a 2 hour pass yesterday. We took the 4:45-7. Most were leaving when we came in. The weather was cooling off from the hot day. The pools were so beautiful and relaxing. We both have neck and shoulder issues and could just fill the tightness and tension fade away. The facility was very clean. I loved the uniqueness of it all. A bit of a hippie vibe. Jim was the manager and was a delight. I would love to spend the day there. We may try to go back again before we heard back to Tennessee. The drive from Albuquerque was gorgeous . We did the 13 mile loop at Jemez it was wonderful. Take the time to enjoy this treasure!

We started the day here and what a way to begin. Their outdoor mineral springs pool is on the small side but there were only three of us using it. The water is nice and warm and they have flotation noodles for your enjoyment. There are chairs around if you wish to get out and sit in the shade. The river runs right behind the pool area so you can listen to that and enjoy the mountain scenery. There is a much smaller second pool also that was supposed to be warmer but I didn't try that. They will bring you drinks if you desire. A great way to relax.

I’m usually good at sussing out if an accommodation is adequate by a close examination of the published photos but not in this case.
We booked the Adobe Cabin - it looked rustically charming online - but in reality the bathing situation was unacceptable. The ceiling height above the clawfoot tub - where you have to stand to shower- was too short for my 6’ 1” husband to stand in while showering. The shower head height was at his neck so he needed to hunch way down to wash his hair.
There is no seating on the front porch area whatsoever. The unit next door had a porch swing but the adobe cabin didn’t.
No privacy in the toilet area - only a saloon type door which does nothing for sights and smells.
When you sit on the toilet, the afternoon sun burns into your eyes because there’s no window coverings whatsoever.
We left about 45 minutes after checking in because this wasn’t an adequate accommodation. No one was around to discuss our issues with - the office closes at 5pm and so do the hot springs.
Don’t book this cabin unless you’re under 5’5” tall or unless you don’t care for showering or toileting privacy.
It looks like it’s possibly a nice place to soak in the springs and stay elsewhere.

Giggling Springs is so relaxing. Newly renovated with many hot tubs each of various temperatures. I loved it and would definitely recommend it.

I visited today with my wheelchair-bound SIL & the staff was super accommodating. Non of us had faced those challenges before in that setting & we worked everything out together & my family had a wonderful visit.

I really enjoyed my visit at Giggling Springs. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The place was clean and well kept. The hot springs felt great! There is a nice place on site where you can change your clothes and use the restroom if you need to. There are also floating chairs that you can use while in the pool. If you go, order one of the fruit smoothies. It was delicious! This would be a lovely stop after hiking all day! Also, the surrounding grounds were lovely.

We spent Halloween weekend in Jemez Springs, one of our rare weekends near to Albuquerque where we live. It's out custom to go much further every weekend, but we decided to just go relax and rejuvenate in the hot springs close to home — we are so glad we did and that we discovered Giggling Springs! Staying right next door, we were just steps away and when we took a morning walk and checked the place out, it was a no-brainer that we'd be back after lunch for a soak. We loved the beautiful, restorative locale — the autumn scenery was just breathtaking from the vantage point of the pool and the riverside chairs and hammock. We also loved the gift shop and found it very well stocked with the works of area artisans.
The pool: In a word, delightful. At first there was just one other person there for the hour we purchased, then four more came, and that was still plenty roomy and nice. The newcomers wanted the water a little hotter, so the staff took care of that with the waterfall to bring in some hotter water. We also got a couple of coffee drinks which were brought to us at the pool. It was so relaxing to soak, have coffee, (along with the complementary bottled water each person gets as well), and just enjoy the Jemez Mountains in golden bloom with fall. There are nice little touches throughout the pool area — carvings and art works complementing the scene. The changing room/rest room is roomy and nice, and there are two other outdoor changing cubes as well.
I marvel at the few people on here who have complained about the price and try comparing it to large places like Pagosa Springs. First, the price here is very reasonable and if $20 is too much for you, perhaps you shouldn't be spending your time in tourist spot. Secondly, comparisons to places like Pagosa are ridiculous. Pagosa has many pools — many very crowded, overcrowded pools. We've been to Pagosa several times and stopped to have lunch or dinner or just walk around, usually on our way to or from somewhere else, and thought we'd NEVER go to the pools there because they were wall-to-wall people. Not inviting. All day ticket? So what? I, for one, do not want to be rubbing shoulders with people in a packed pool. Give me Giggling Springs any day! And frankly, one hour (or two at most) in a hot pool is more than enough.
The river runs right by the pool and you can walk down to it and even wade in if you like. It was discouraged during our visit due to storms and the silty bottom at the time, not to mention that water is cold and the air temps were fall-like. But, my Viking-like partner waded in and found it invigorating for a few minutes too, and then back for a warm up in the hot springs! There is a hammock near the river and more chairs for relaxing.
The gentlemen staffing the place when we were there had such a nice vibe and appreciation for the area that it makes it part of the appeal. We purchased a beautiful artisan ring in the gift shop, a ring by David Pritchard, who is a local, but whose work is known throughout the Southwest and is even sold at dept. stores like Macy's.
And we also bought one of the amusing t-shirts that tout being "Jemezmerized." Herein lies my only small quibble. I posted a pic of the t-shirt's back and front on Facebook and immediately someone posted that they were surprised that I, as an editor, could wear a t-shirt with at least three misspellings on it. And I did, indeed, notice the misspelled words on the back of the "t" where the word "Jemezmerized" is defined. But I decided it didn't matter, and I told this person that part of being Jemezmerized and enjoying the bliss of the springs and the mountains was that I simply was not bothered by such things. Maybe the next batch of t-shirts will fix that. :)
We both highly recommend Giggling Springs for your soaking pleasure while in Jemez Springs.

Stopped to do a soak at Giggling Springs. Wonderful water, nice accommodations, outstanding service. Not crowded.

Hot springs are a nice spot to sit and enjoy the springs. They will also bring you out a frosty beverage when it's too hot. On the negative side, it's in the middle of no where.

Giggling Hot Springs is a magical place. The grounds are well designed, clean, peaceful, and serene. The scenery is stunning. The staff is out of this world wonderful. Melissa was extremely attentive, helpful, and enthusiastic. It was a delight to meet her. Do not worry about getting thirsty their poolside service was great!

We rent the Red Mesa Cabin for a night. The stay included 2 hour soak in hot pools. We split that time between first day in the afternoon and second day in the morning before we left. The place was relatively empty so I think we probably could have spent more time in the pools if we asked. Cabin looks recently remodeled and has really nice southwest ambience. It has a separate bedroom and little kitchen area. Area around the pools is very well maintained and has some tranquility to it. The young lady who was in charge of this place was very nice and attentive. Walking distance from the hot springs there is pretty good restaurant, so we did not have to drive to get the dinner.

Really cute outdoor pool, friendly people sharing the experience, I was hoping for more variety in the gift store.

As a Santa Fe resident I am fortunate to have several choices available for soaking in the area...this is my new FAVORITE. it is beautiful, charming and, unlike bigger venues, limited to 35 guests which for me makes the prices worth every penny. Some other reviews have mentioned the higher expense but I promise you, the exclusivity makes up for the slightly higher price tag. And the management is amazing and having a refreshing smoothie brought to you as you are relaxing sure doesn't suck!!!

Spent a luxurious hour soaking in the springs completely alone, sipping fruit smoothies, watching the hummingbirds play. Not the worst hour of our lives for sure!

My husband and I LOVE going and enjoying the peace and serenity of this beautiful and healing place. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and had a wonderful time. It is gorgeous and I can't wait until we can return! If you like natural hot springs and an eco-friendly environment, put this on your bucket list!

I reserved a two hour soak in the Springs, which wound up being the perfect amount of time for me personally. Tanya was so pleasantly accommodating, explaining the layout of where to go to change into my bathing suit, how to request hotter water and to order something from the kitchen.
For about 15 minutes, I had the entire pool area to myself and I just kept spinning around to look at all the beauty. It is obvious that the two owners have put a lot of attention to decorating this in a very natural and spirit filled way. There are areas to cool down in the shade, hammocks, and a covering should the sun become too intense.
There are mountains and a river running directly behind the pool area. Being able to sip on an ice cold pineapple/coconut smoothie while in the pool added a certain level of feeling posh and comforted.
Because of the hot water and elevation, I walked out feeling a little bit dizzy and had a slight headache (my own fault, I should have cooled off earlier). Tanya recommended 10 minutes of oxygen therapy and some cool water. It was just what the doctor ordered.
My skin felt smooth for days afterwards, and my muscles were relaxed and rejuvenated.

We ( my husband and I ) arrived at Giggling Springs and was met by Tanya . She was very nice and gave us a tour of the place , which we found to be clean and nicely decorated. We purchased the two hour package deal , thinking it would be more than enough time . Turns out we could have stayed all day . The place was so relaxing and rejuvenating we will definitely be going back . Tanya was a delight , bringing us a fruit smoothie and took pictures of us with our camera. Our experience at Giggling Springs was definitely one of the lights of our trip to New Mexico . Can't wait to go back !

Clean and plenty of hot pools. Prices seem a little steep for one hour but the peacefull setting is nice.

Absolutely wonderful! Beautiful grounds, incredibly friendly staff, 2 hours of sheer happiness. Can't wait to go back!

We drove from Los Alamos, about an hour, and it was well worth it. Many hot springs are wild and wooly, you've gotta hike up or down some steep terrain and it's sketchy. This place is very well conceived and designed. You can even rent towels and bath robes from them and there's a coffee stand on the premises. The showers and changing booths are nice and the pools are terrific! They have lukewarm to quite hot, depending on your preferences. We tried them all and did a one hour soak. There was also some nice eye candy, if you get my drift. You come out of the soak feeling relaxed, invigorated and your skin feels smooth.

Was dirty and the pools were full will algae. Dangerously Slippery pathways, the many statues and idols around the springs were dusty dirty and covered in cobwebs. Not at all neat or well manicured grounds. Would not recommend. The girl who greeted us asked if we were paying separate....also had the nerve to compare these swamp-like pools to Riverbend in T or C. Riverbend is classy and clean, no comparison. She also said that the reason for the green color was the mineral content. Won't be back.
We went for an hour and came out so relaxed it transports you to another place. The owner was friendly and helpful it was not to busy. There are 4 different Pools to ènjoy etc one a different nàtural temperature. Very ènjoyàble
