Was very nice and interesting. Lots of fish and they have a seal they took in and saved. A little pricey and they do not take AAA anymore.

Great aquarium and love the penguins. It was fun for the whole family. Nice extra activity to get away from the hot beach for an hour. Highly recommend!!

Very nice!! It's not real big, but it's really nice & pretty inside! Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Not expensive! I give it a big thumbs up!

Second time there. Reasonably priced. Not huge but nice variety. Penquins, seals, stingrays, sharks, owls. My favorite is the eel!

My wife and three very young children had the pleasure of going to this wonderful place. The staff here is, to a person, kind and helpful whenever any request is made. This is a great place to take children! The exhibits were fun and interesting. the creatures within are loved and well cared for. We will return again.

My family loves the aquarium in Camden, but that’s an hour further drive, so we tried Jenkinson’s on a cold winter morning.
The expectations were not high given prior trips to the boardwalk arcades that stuff their claw machines so full that you can never win, but, wow.
The space is compact, but they have two floors with lots of animals, from tiny alligators to large sharks, plus seals and penguins (that they do feeds for which are great to watch).
The animals are well cared for, the place spotlessly clean and the staff very engaging and knowledgeable. I expected to stay an hour tops, but we spent 4 hours there, including a break for lunch (as you can come and go as much as you like)
Really is a great, and very educational attraction.

Yesterday our Travel club spent the day in Point Pleasant. We did have tickets for the aquarium and what a nice aquarium it is. It was crowded when we were there with children from camp trips. But they were well behaved and quiet. For a small aquarium there was so much to see and watch.
The employees here were helpful and friendly. I did not want to walk down the flight of steps and one employee got the elevator so I was able to be safe. I appreciated this. I highly recommend this nice aquarium for anyone to spend the time coming here. You will not be disappointed.

Small aquarium on the Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey Shore. They had penguin, shark and seal feedings. Kids loved jellyfish and waiting for seals to pop up out of their pool area. Excellent staff at touch pools - friendly and knowledgeable. Kids excited to hold snakes! Very small so less than 1 hour inside. Store had lots of fun knick knack souvenir options for kids but also small.

totaly worth it price is a lil steep but well worth the adventure great any time selfi go in off season my

Loved the aquarium! I, admittedly, didn’t see the point in going to an aquarium while at the shore but it was really nice. I’d highly recommend.

Good fun for the family... young kids are free... kids over 2 or 3 (not sure of exact age) have to pay. 11 dollars for each adult... they have a cool fish, shark, seal, and penguin exhibits. The rest is nothing great. Takes about an hour to go through... it's not very big inside. Parking isn't a problem in the winter... in the summer I imagine it would be difficult. One annoying thing for people with young kids is that there are stairs to the second floor. We left our stroller downstairs.

Jenkinson's Aquarium is a wonderful place to bring small children. The staff is more than wonderful. The staff tries to engage everyone that visits. The shark tank and the penguin station are true standouts. My grandchildren loved touching the crabs and the other animals in the touching exhibit. I was pleasantly surprised by this Aquarium.

Even though this aquarium is about 30 minutes from my house, it has been years since I have been here. During a rainy day, we decided to take a trip here and check it out. My daughter had a great time. The aquarium is small but they have sharks and penguins and who doesn't love watching penguins. We also got to watch the shark feeding which was exciting to watch. Price was good as well. I would recommend this place to others and will come back again.

Love this little aquariam. It has a lot of animals for a small place, I always felt safe with kids there. Could be a little cheaper but worth it. Find out when feeding seals/sharks before you go. You can go back in later on with wristband

Very cute for any age. Clean, friendly staff, Fair prices. They take sanitizing, masking and social distancing serious. Cool place for the Little ones. Enjoy, we did.

Not much open during the winter months but the aquarium is open year round. It is very small but good for young children. It has a stingray, starfish, and crab touch tank. Shark tank, seal tank and penguin exhibit. We spent less then two hours there. It started to get a little crowded.

If we compare this Aquarium to the one in Brooklyn: Jenkinson's Aquarium is way better. It is clean. You can touch some sealife. Staff is very accommodating and friendly.
We wish they could have more space.

Went to the aquarium yesterday after a day at the beach. What a cute and quaint aquarium. When you first walk in you see a touch tank with stringrays. It was beautiful. Also, there shark exhibit was stunning as well. We can't wait to go again! Being open late is a major plus too.

A great rainy day attraction to introduce youngsters to the wonders of the ocean. Dedicated staff rode out Superstorm Sandy to ensure that the aquarium's inhabitants survived.

This is a small, quaint aquarium. Perfect for small kids. There is plenty to see but not overwhelming. I was there with teens and we all had a great time.

Aquarium on Jenkinsons boardwalk a s a nice visit. Kind, courteous staff that went out of their way to help my Mom up the second floor in a wheelchair lift and then check on us and offer to answer any questions. Very knowledgeable. The place is small, but it gives you time to spend looking at the many fish, sharks, blue frogs, spotted turtles, tamarins, parrots and seals. Nice place for young children. Just a bit pricey which is why I only gave it 4 stars.

Great place to go for all ages. Very enjoyable to see all the different fish.
And to be there when they feed the penguins and the seals.

Though small this aquarium is done right with varied exhibits and friendly staff. The sharks, seals & penguins are favorited. All fish & animals well cared for and a joy to see.

We took our 23 month old grandson here and he had a ball. He loved watching the penguins feed, looking at the sharks and all the other colorful species there. We plan to go there again in summer. When you pay they stamp your hand and you can re-enter if you want to leave to get lunch or take in sights on the boardwalk. The aquarium is small, but a very worthwhile trip.

I love this little acquarium, especially the penguins which are my favorite. My family and I would definitely go again. We all enjoyed walking around. It doesn't matter that it's small because it is very charming.

Came here this summer and was so surprised at how nicely they redid everything! It's not the biggest aquarium but they are continuously working on improving it which is awesome to see. They had a large selection of marine life and a touch tank upstairs. It was adorable and a great place for families with kids.

I visited here this past weekend with my 3 year old son. The aquarium is rather small compared to many, but they do make the most of the space that they have. The aquarium appeared to be under construction this weekend so perhaps once that is complete more exhibits will be open. Overall, this is a great place to spend 30-60 minutes with family.

So much to see and a great experience. The seals and penguins are so funny to watch. They have a touch tank to touch some animals which is a neat experience

Visited with my cousins from Quebec this past summer 2016 it was their first time. They loved it. Seeing the seals and penguins they loved the best and Sharks

Jenkinson's Aquarium is a great value for what they have to offer! It is small but they have so many species to see and seem to truly care about the animals in their care and the conservation of wildlife.

Although we spent $37 for a family of four and were done in under thirty minutes it had it's positives. My kids got to see the sharks, petted the stingrays, and watched the seals being fed. Plus the penguins were really cool. So if you ask me if it was worth it I would say yes to do once.

Under the heated sun, this place is a great place to rest and shade from the sun.
It is a very small aquarium but kids fully can enjoy - esp. sting rays' petting area was fascinating. Rays swim along the wall of tank to let kids touch easily!
There are a few times feeding show and some demonstration with care takers.

I took my grandson to the aquarium. It was just the right size. He was able to walk around freely and I didn't have to be on top of him worrying. Would definitely recommend it.

Having been to numerous other aquariums this is a rather small one. It is interesting and probably acceptable for younger children with a limited attention span.

Small reasonably priced aquarium, that has a lot to offer. Like the fact that once you pay for the day, you can re- enter as many times as you would like. They have plenty of fish, penguins, sharks, seals and other animals. Great stop for any age.

This is a great way to spend an hour or two in all seasons. The place is compact but has a complete array of mammals, amphibians and fish on display. Sharks, seals, penguins, nautilus (the first time I have ever seen one) and a great variety of fish make for a pleasant little day trip. Plus, very reasonably priced.

A good rainly day activity or something to do to escape a really hot day on the beach. Kids will love it. Its a small aquarium with emphasis on local fish and sea life. There are several fish and seal feedings scheduled throughout the day, as well as, a cute penguin exhibit. Only takes about an hour tomsee everything. Of course there is a gift shop attached which younhave to go through to exit. While I wouldn't make it a destination, its something to do if you are spending time at the beach.

This is a great location for young children. My granddaughter who is 6 years old loves it. I try to take her to the Jenkinson's aquarium a couple times a year. The aquarium is small but very clean and well organized. It is a great way to spend a couple of hours.

This is a great family-friendly stop. We went with four adults and three children (4, 3, and nine weeks). Colorful fish, sharks, rays, turtles, moray eels, penguins, etc. Takes about an hour or so. Children can stand along a ledge that abuts the glass viewing window.
Follow-up with visit to Jenkinson's Amusement Park, which has lots of rides for younger children.

I've brought my son here every year since he was 5, and at 12 he still enjoys it. Beautiful sharks! Well run. Kids can touch rays and other seafoods.

It's a great place to spend 30 min to 1.5 hours and it certainly will entertain the little ones. Every new aquarium nowadays tries to be the biggest or have the most unique species, or .... Jenkinson's Aquarium is a basic aquarium where your kids get to see sharks, nemo :-) , penguins, and a number of others. And upstairs they can touch and feel some. Get the stamp on your way in our out and you can return all day which is exactly what we did. We started at the Aquarium, then we did beach and rides, and ended back at the Aquarium. All by all well worth the $11/pp

A cute aquarium we did this during a week long stay at the shore on a rainy day. Everyone had a good time the tanks are clean and well cared for.

I've worked in Point Pleasant Beach for 7 years, lived in the area 30 years first time I've been here. It was nice no summertime crowds. My wife and I brought our Granddaughter for a visit. For a small aquarium they pack alot of exhibits including a touch tank. They have a nice assortment of fish including sharks, penguins, piranha,
and even a small area for the Pine Barrens. All in all it was very enjoyable and very close to home.

Had my birthday party here 10 years ago and it was just as amazing as it is today. Staff is so friendly and we learned so much about penguins and shark feeding in one day!!!

We attended the aquarium which 72 children. They were in total awe of all the mammals I were in Jenkinson's aquarium. They saw seals, Sharks, penguins many other sea animals. This is a must see for children and even adults that I've never really seen some of the exotic fish that are there

From the outside, aquarium looks rather large, but it is on the smaller side. However, that does not take away from the wide array of creatures to encounter. From sharks, to seals, to penguins, parrots, and even primates. Be sure to check out the different feeding times, for the different animals. There is a touch tank where you can feel different creatures, and a small educational center to learn about the different creatures. I did feel that the alligator was in too small of a tank, and had no other alligator friends to play with. The facility overall was a bit dirty, I recommend hand sanitizer.

Very friendly staff, not too large but a good variety to see and you can touch a sting ray and some other things. I recommend.

As an Asian American that visited there with my kids, it was very exciting and fun. The aquarium is well furnished and educational. My only downside was that the local "security?" Not sure who they were in the yellow shirts. Were very unhospitable and I immediately noticed that I was not welcomed there. Two thumbs up to the beach cops that were accommodating to the area. Great place for local shopping and restaurants, it was a good experience except for the people in the yellow shirts and it wasn't just one person. It was 3 of them at 2 different points on the boardwalk. Wanted to walk up to the ocean with my kids after the Aquarium at 4:30pm, with my $40+ in cash in hand and I was blocked literally. I guess I should've called my friend that lived 2 blocks from there, but for a 10min touch of the ocean. I just left in disgust, other locals consoled me and was directed to Bellmar Beach.

First place my children ask to visit on our annual pilgrimage to Pointe Pleasant! Pay once and you have unlimited access all day, we generally drop in 3 or 4 times over a day to escape the heat and time the visits to the posted feeding schedules. Staff are very friendly and will take the time to answer all questions. Be sure to stop into the reef station on the second floor where you get to touch rays!

we went to the aquarium on a rainy tues. morning 8/12/2015 . our annual trek that my children and grandchildren really enjoy. we had to wait in line for about 15 min. as it seems that everyone was looking for a place to get out of the rain. Once inside we again marveled at the various tanks of large fish , rays , sharks etc. It was quite crowded but the aquarium flow was quite efficient. The penguins are always a big hit along with the sea lions. On the second floor You can touch various sea creatures {after washing hands of course}. the total time spent to see everything is about 45 mins to an hour.. the exit conveniently empties into the gift shop. We had our usual good time.

It is small overall, but a lot of exhibits. The kids love the touch tank and the seal show the best.

Great aquarium for kids & the whole family. Not huge (or expensive) like some larger aquariums but it's a comfortable size to hold the interest of kids up to 12 or 13 years old. We spent almost two hours watching the sharks, otters, penguins, etc. and also saw the feeding/playtime for seals.

For years we have walked by this aquarium. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but you are not disappointed when you go in. The staff is informative and friendly. Penguins in Point Pleasant!! Yes there are.

It's a small place but has very cute displays and even hands on parts. There were different types of fish they were allowed to touch. There was a seal feeding we got to watch. My kids favorite part was the penguins. They came right up to the glass and were being very playful. It's not a place to spend a long time but since it's on the boardwalk there is other activities to do there.

Always a relaxing time here, the place is fun, clean, and afforadable for a family group. The staff is very knowledgable and pleasant.

I love going here. Its a very family friendly, but a little pricey. The animals are well cared for, the place is clean, the staff knowledgeable and friendly. A great learning experience for kids and adults alike. Would definitely suggest it if you are looking for a cold weather or rainy day activity

We went here yesterday morning to see our marine friends before our drive back home. My boyfriend and I visit the aquarium every shore trip and it's so much fun! There was a line outside to get in around 11:00 a.m. but we were able to enter very quickly and to my surprise it wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. Staff is always very informative and the animals seem to be very well taken care of. Will be back as usual!

This review is based on the opinion of a young professional solo business traveler who was in Point Pleasant and checking out the boardwalk in off-season. That being said, this was maybe one out of about five places open on the boardwalk on a Saturday afternoon. The person who was working the front desk (some guy in his late teens/early 20s) was friendly but failed to tell me the aquarium was closing in about 40 minutes when I entered, yet I still had to pay full price.
I completely agree with the other reviewers that this place as a small. As an adult who hasn't been to an aquarium in a long time there were some fun things to see but it seemed to be aimed for older kids/early teens.
Would have received more stars if the ticket price was cut in half.
Women in gift shop were friendly.

Very nice exhibits, but....sub par HC access. Asked parking attendant for HC parking. Directed me to a space without any markings, too small to be HC accessible and could not get the car door open fully. Inside only one bad attitude in there...the cashier speaking to the customer in front of us trashing folks from Seaside Heights, thinking Point Pleasant Beach is "all that". Didn't want to let that ruin the trip, and was glad to have met other workers who are so dedicated to care for the animals. Not to harp on this, but again HC accessibility to one exhibit in non existent. All the way through it has multiple points of access via two steps. A ramp at one end would be helpful. HC access to second floor is available via chair lift. Don't know if it is designed for physically disabled standing passenger not using a wheelchair. Suggest calling ahead and ask. All in all a really nice visit, sans the person at the cash register who might do well to keep her opinions to herself.

We spent quite a bit of money to get in, $47, but it was worth it! We arrived at 10am and were able to watch them feed the seals. They had a guide talking to us about them and the seals even did a few funny "tricks".
We spent about 1.5 hours here and we really stretched it out, reading the signs about the animals and asking questions. Our kids are older, but I'm sure families with younger kids would breeze through this in under 45 minutes.

The animals here are cooped up in cages that are entirely too small. I’m not completely against zoos and aquariums but they have a 15-20 foot snake in a 2’x4’ box that has one small branch for it to climb on, it’s coiled up every time you go there because it has no room to stretch out at all. They have 4 or more very large parrots in a very narrow cage that’s only about 3’x10’, these parrots can’t fly and can barely even open their wings if they wanted to stretch. They also have two seals in a exhibit with maybe 75-100 square feet of surface area for them to go on and then a pool the size of a hot tub, granted the pool is deep but they’re only able to swim in tight small circles. The way they keep some of their animals is completely inhumane and I’m not sure how it’s allowed. The parrots are visibly distraught and they just sit on their swings not able to do anything because of the confined space.

This is nice place to go with your family. Kids enjoyed the boardwalk and the Aquarium. It is not a big place but not to small. You will enjoy your day here.

This is a small aquarium with many small exhibits, just enough for small children. The upstairs allows for larger groups and the small children to have a little freedom of movement. The animals look healthy (although one seems quite old), and it is nothing to be compared to larger aquariums, but our little 15 month old was just overcome with awe seeing the penguins and seal swim.

Can't beat the variety of food, rides and games! The arcade games are well maintained. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Small but nice. Went there years ago with the kids, good place to spend a couple hours off the boardwalk.

My husband and I had a enjoyable afternoon we went to Jenkinson‘s aquarium we had two free tickets that we had one at a Chinese auction so we picked today to go we had a very nice time they do have different activities we can touch things at different times of the day and they have different feeding activities so would be good to check the website when certain things happen at whatever time it would be fun if other people when a little later in the afternoon then you would enjoy the boardwalk a little bit more it would be so hot parking was $10 The regular parking area was filled up but we just went straight across the street it was the same thing $10 no problem wasn’t that far of a walk they do have two different miniature golf places on the boardwalk one that is close the other one is about four blocks away so after the aquarium there’s a lot of different activities you can do and things to eat which is very nice

Went with sons, spouses and 2 toddlers. They were able to watch seals and penguins being fed. Nice hands on areas. Kids slept well that nite

We just love to visit the wonderful penguins whenever we have been visiting the Point's Boardwalk in the summer! fun for all!

Overcrowded to a point of presenting a potential for disaster should there be a need to evacuate the facility. Shame on management and town officials for allowing unsafe overcrowding.

I recently revisited the aquarium at Jenkinson's. I have been there several times before, and was disappointed that there hasn't been much improvement over the years. They are currently renovating, so perhaps the next time I visit, there will be more things to see. I also feel that the prices should be lowered. Families like to visit with their children and with a large group it can be rather pricey. Perhaps they could offer family group discounts. With the number of people visiting the aquarium, I think they could make some adjustments to the admission prices. I was happy to see that the gift shop offered an assortment of items with varying prices.

We went to the aqarium the last night of our trip with our 3yr old granddaughter. It was a nice break from the chaos of the boardwalk rides and games. It is a very nice little aqauarium just perfect for her age. Just enough but not over whelming. Had a nice time.

The Good... it's a nice small aquarium with friendly, somewhat knowledgeable, employees.
The Bad... prices to park and eat are outrageous! 4 hotdogs, 4 lemonades = $60.00?!?!
The Ugly... worst restrooms I've seen in my 61 years on this planet. The dirtiest, smelliest and most unsanitary restrooms.
My granddaughter loves sloths. Jenkinson's advertises a sloth. When we asked where the sloth exhibit was, we were told that "it may or may not be available at feeding time in the education room". We asked the feeding time and we were told, "some time around 3 p.m.".
Jenkinson's is a total waste of time and MONEY!!

This was a perfect outing with my three grandchildren ages 8, 6 and 4. The aquarium's exhibits held their interest, and the facility was large enough to have lots to look at but not so large that walking through it exhausted us. The children loved the hands-on exhibits and were thrilled to see the star fish and snails. We will surely be back!

great job, nice addition to our boardwalk. we enjoyed the afternoon. will go again this summer. friendly staff

We always have a good time at this aquarium. It is small inside, but perfect for young children. We usually go for about 45 minutes to an hour. It is enough time to see everything. It is clean, many animals and species to see. I read some negative comments about space and animals being too confined. Every time I am there, I see the keepers taking care of the animals, cleaning the tanks, feedings. I am sorry to read so many negative reviews because I truly find this place enjoyable. It’s perfect for a hot summer day or a rainy day. We even go in the winter because it is open all year.

My son loved it. The only complaint that there's not much to see but for what you pay and being able to come visit multiple times during the day make it worth it especially if you have children.

Very small aquarium. Takes about 30 min to go through. Seemed overpriced to us. Cute for small kids but dont think that tjis is your standard aquarium

Neat place to take kids! Lots of information about beach animals that live all over the world. Grandaughter always enjoys watching the penguins and touching the animals in the touch pools. Have been going there for several years and it's still an adventure for her. Nice aquarium - newly renovated - does not take hours to walk through - but still very educational! Attendants are friendly and always willing to answer questions about the animals.

Small but great animal displays and educational. They handled the minimal space really well with the set-up. Definitely worthwhile and worth the entrance fee.

It's not very big, but there is still a lot to see. My 4 year old grandson loved the sharks and penquins most. There is a nice touch tank upstairs. I wish they could get another seal. The one they have looks lonely to me.

It is a small aquarium on the boardwalk. It has sharks, seals and many types of unusual fish. It also has a small python, owl and a snake from the New Jersey pine barrens.

A gem on the jersey shore. Most people walk right by it without stoping, not knowing how great it is. It is great.

This is a cute little aquarium. It's not overly large, but it does have quite a few exhibits and a variety of aquatic creatures, fish and some birds. There are some interactive things, and periodic animal feedings (which for oddly compelling for all ages) and best of all, the price is very reasonable.

Grandson loved the sharks and got to touch an horseshoe crab thrilling the staff is very well versed and helpful. I have been many times and still love going.

I can highly recommend this small family friendly aquarium. We visit every time we come to the area with our kids and our extended family. It is the perfect size and they have creative and wonderfully detailed live exhibits. It is clean and attractive and the animals are all clearly well cared for by their knowledgable and friendly staff.
On rainy summer days it can get very busy so make sure to go early if you don't want to wait in a long line.

Great experience and you can get packages so that you can do more activities for a great price. I paid $25 for the package containing 1) aquarium, 2) golf, and 3) fun house. Not bad for price and was very fun.

I never thought a boardwalk aquarium would be worth the visit, but I was wrong! This is a really nice aquarium and much larger than I had expected. This is a must visit for both kids and adults when you visit the Pt. Pleasant boardwalk.

Larger than we thought it was - a really nice place with a lot of different sea creatures. You can watch the feeding from the second floor or from down below. There is also feeding of the penguins which we didn’t stay for.

It's small, but amazingly well-designed and laid out. A LOT of great animals/fish to see. I was very impressed, and I've been to some of the bigger ones. People there are quite knowledgeable and you can learn a lot. Kids like it, but adults will be impressed too.

My family and I recently visited the aquarium. It was nice but small compared to others we have been to. The upstairs is not stroller accessible so you either need to leave it downstairs or carry it up the stairs. The penguins were good and the seals. At certain times they offer observation of feedings. It's nice but small for the price.

LOVE this little place! Go at feeding time for penguins & seals!!!
They are open year round.
Point Pleasant is a nice place with nice boardwalk.

No, this is of course not a big aquarium like Baltimore or Boston, but still very much worth a visit as part of a beach visit - not necessarily worth a trip on its own.

Interesting place. Set up well. They have a "petting" area upstairs. My favorites were the penguins & the seals.

This little aquarium is a nice stop for children and parents alike. It is a great way to take a break from the heat. One ticket will grant you access all day. There is a cute gift shop for souvenirs too.

We took 4 little ones here and they and we adults had a great time! Not jam-packed, so we took our time viewing all the fish and other animals. Kids loved seeing a scuba diver in one of the tanks. Fun time,

I went with four adults and four children five and under on a very rainy day during the week of Independence Day. Everyone had the same idea that we did and the aquarium was very crowded. However, we were very impressed by the all of the aquatic creatures and plant life in such a small space. There was a large, very organized, and knowledgeable staff to keep everyone safe in such a large crowd. There was a demonstration classroom where we learned about a young alligator. I would recommend this aquarium to families with young children.

This is a cute little aquarium at the north end of the boardwalk. My 3 year old daughter had a wonderful time looking at the fish and running around the place. We were able to watch the seal feeding, which was pretty cool.
We appreciated the air conditioning after being outside most of the day. The workers were very friendly and patient. It was busy and full of kids. I strongly recommend for families with kids under 10. A bit expensive, but it's the Shore, so what can you expect?

It's a small boardwalk aquarium but one that excels in its theming and design. Larger than either the Atlantic City Aquarium or Wildwood's Seaport Aquarium it is a must see if you're staying anywhere near Point Pleasant. From the turtle pond/stream the surrounds the large pirate ship that serves as the aquariums centerpiece to the tiki hut and tastefully done shark display you won't regret putting an hour or so aside to stop in on this quirky beachfront attraction!

We like it so much! It's a small place but you can see all the animals up close ... That's a plus. Our 2 years old daughter had a blast.

Visited the aquarium with a group of girl scouts. It takes less than an hour to walk through. The kids enjoyed being able to interact and touch some of the water creatures. It is not big however there are many things to see such as the penguins, turtles, stingrays and many other fish and ocean species. Try and plan to visit around animal feeding times for more interaction.

Jenkinson's Aquarium is a must stop when on the Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk
Many varieties of fish, turtles , penguins, seals and sharks
Very kid friendly and Covid -19 responsible
Reasonably priced

A rainy day with grandchildren or children. A great place to lose yoruself for an hour or more. Worth the visit even in novce weather for a break. Not too expensive.

Worth the trip, if you are in the area. Wonderful displays and aquatic creatures. The kids will love the diversion. Lack of parking is the only downside.

This aquarium is small but great for small children. There were fish, turtles, snakes and more. Upstairs there was a “touch tank “with a Starfish and snails. There were lots of fish big and small. The large Penguin display had a lot of Penguins that must look life size to small children. Don’t miss the sharks, seals and penguins feedings. We were there when it opened and I’m glad we did because when we left there was a line to get in. Also with the wristband you can go in later. We spent about 1 ½ to 2 hours. We just took our time. I don’t think the price is too expensive because it cost a lot of money to care for and feed these animals.

nice little aquarium on the boardwalk makes for total boardwalk expereance.live fish swiming in tanks seals intreactive with marine life an star fish

I've coming to this aquarium for over 10 years now. My kids, who are now 12 and 4, always happy to visit. The facility has changed over the years and became even more impressive. If you think of the amount of work that goes into it, the price is reasonable. For a small place, you do get a lot out of your visit.

Been here before, always a joy!! Got there just in time to watch the penguin and seal feedings. So fun. Great for a rainy day.

My favorite aquarium. It is small, yes- but you can tell it is SO cared for and so are the animals. There is so much to see in there and it is so clean and maintained. I absolutely love visiting this aquarium and will be going again.

They took great care of turtle and we visit her periodically. the place is amazing and the staff is very dedicated...

Jenkinsons Aquarium is small but is just enough for me. It's great for kids and families. I would recommend going.

I usually go once a year and every year there is something different. I was just in the area this month and the whole place is under construction. They have a touch and feel area with petting of the manta rays and sharks. For a small aquarium it only lacks the Huge tanks everything else is there.

I went to the Jenkinson Aquarium to visit the exhibits which I had not seen since the place opened almost 40 years ago. It is such a great interactive aquarium with lots of interesting exhibits to see and experience.
The seal feeding was the most fun as the two California seals seemed so happy even with all the health issues these two animals have. They seem to enjoy the human interaction and are so friendly and inquisitive with the guests. They give you a look like they want to talk to you.
The other exhibits are very hands on with starfish, small fishes and turtles and they even have jelly fish and all sorts of rainbow fish and eels to see interacting with one another. The displays are well designed so you see them in a smaller version of their natural habitat.
There is an extensive collection of animals and aquatic life to see and staff there to explain things to you. It is worth the admission fee.

I really loved my time at the aquarium, and though it wasn’t my first time, I enjoyed the seal feeding like I haven’t ever before. The staff is also very kind and are really engaging even when using the touch tank!

There are lots of tanks upstairs and downstairs with tutles, monkeys, parrots, poison dart frogs, sharks, Nautilus, sea horses, bearded dragon and other awesome educational opportunities.
Im not a supporter of captivity however they do a pretty good job of teaching conservation and respect for nature. Very
Sad to see the other seal died. It had a big ring on it over 2 years ago I asked about. Worked said it died from cancer. Not sure if thats accurate. Terrapin turtle needs some help too. He looked like he was on his way out.

Small reasonably priced aquarium. Good variety of fish and animals. Once admission is paid, you can re enter the aquarium multiple times that day. There is a souvenir shop attached as well.

This might not be the best aquarium that you'll ever see and it will never be so. But still a 2 hour visit is worth the 12 USD it costs you. It has a substantial collection of a variety of sea creatures starting from Turtles to fishes and for some strange reason - Marmosets and Macaws.
Pros-
Variety of sea-creatures, Touch-pool for Kids and frequent enough feeding times
Cons-
The tanks are incorrectly labelled and more information can be provided for the inhabitants of the tanks so as to spread the knowledge.

Check their schedule to see when they do feedings, it adds a little something interesting for the kids

This is a cozy little place. Big on rescue, conservation and sustainability. I was very impressed by what I thought could be an afterthought attraction. Nope, this little place is cared for and loved as are the animals who live there!

The aquarium has been completely redone what a beautiful job they did on it. He strongly suggest that everybody stop by and look at the exhibits specially the Penguins it’s a beautiful aquarium here in South Jersey

If you love museums and you love nature then you will love this aquarium. It's not far from the beach but since it's in an area where there can be snow or other natural traffic stoppers then you should make sure you call about their schedules.

My 15 year old daughter and her girlfriend visited this aquarium while we waited outside on the boardwalk. It was the perfect size aquarium for them to do on their own and they really enjoyed it. Would most definitely recommend visiting this aquarium!

Brought my grandkids to Jenkinsons Aqarium. They loved everything about it. Feeding time is fun time...

Although not large, there is plenty to see and learn about at Jenk’s aquarium. There is a good variety of species, it is well maintained, with touch tanks, shops, and plenty for kids of all ages.

Great attraction. Price was average. Great place to come in from the heat and sun. Employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. We learned a lot and had fun.

This a nice aquarium to visit especially if your vacationing at the shore and it's a rainy day. It's not too big but has quite a lot to see.

After shopping around for a "Penguin Experience" for my step-daughter's 10th birthday, I took a chance and called Jenkinson's to see if they offered this. I am surprised that it is not advertised as it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. It was very well planned and our guide, Laura Graziano was top-notch answering all our questions and personalizing the experience while never losing enthusiasm for the penguins and the aquarium. Meeting the penguins up close and personal was an awesome experience and the take-home goodies will be a reminder of a great day long after it has passed. I highly recommend this experience!

This aquarium is unbelievable. It a first class run operation and so unexpected in a small town. They do a great job, it reasonable as far as price and a lot of fun. If you in Point do yourself a favor and visit.

This is a small aquarium but has a lot to offer. My Grandkids love it.There are sharks, penguins, alligators and seals. Plus loads of fish.

Very clean and well kept throughout. We had our hands stamped, enabling us to go out, enjoy lunch, and re-enter. Very friendly staff. Was a week day, but crowded with children on bus trips. Will call in the future to check for best day. Still, enjoyed it so much! I used the valet parking on site. The place was packed, so had to wait a long time to get my car. Still, well worth it and will return in future.

We've been to Jenkinson's quite a few times. While not the cheapest visit, they occasionally do half-price visits in the off-season, which makes it worth it. They have some beautiful fish and sharks, and the penguins are worth the visit. They have amazing touch tanks, with knowledgeable staff to answer questions.

The Storiinos hit a home run when they decided to open an aquarium. I've taken my grandchildren there close to 20 times because they can get up close to t he fish, and see a great variety. Good for 1 hour plus of pure enjoyment

The Jenkinson's Aquarium is clean and well-kept, and kept our two kids, ages almost 6 and almost 3 happily entertained for about an hour.
Downstairs features windows into several tanks with local and non-local fish and shark species, and a walk-along area, with baby alligators, and a variety of turtles and fresh-water fish. There's a small tank full of clown fish as well, that drew many a child right away, exclaiming "Nemo! Nemo!" thanks to the movie. My youngest spent at least 15 minutes just watching the clown fish swimming around and wriggling through the sea anemones. Just around the corner are the seal and penguin tanks, with two blind seals, who are cared for by the aquarium, and a playful group of African penguins. Up the stairs, are the touch tanks, education room, the seals' feeding area, a viewing area into the shark and large fish tanks, and an exhibit about the Pine Barrens, featuring an owl, terrapins, and snakes. While we were there, the seals were fed once, and there was a session about Wally the Sloth in the education room. Check the signs outside the aquarium for the days/times for feedings, and special sessions.
To exit, you have to go out through the gift shop, which features toys, games, t-shirts, hats, higher end gifts, and blessedly, was the only shop we found on the boardwalk with sunblock over SPF 6 in late September. Prices are typical of a boardwalk gift shop, but not too outrageous off-season.
The entrance fee for adults and kids over 12 is $14, kids 3-12 are $10, and 2 and under are free. Everyone gets a hand stamp, and you can exit and re-enter all day, if you want to come back for a feeding or special session.
For my sea creature-loving kids, this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

Small aquarium but nice. My daughter loves it so we keep going there. We always get the tickets on easter when its buy one get one free.

What an excellent aquarium! I stopped in on Labor Day and couldn't have been happier with the helpfulness of staff and knowledge of staff.
Take the time to see all the feedings! Your hand stamp will allow you to leave and come back during the same day. I went and had lunch, then returned for the seal and shark feedings. I also stayed for the reptile talk, regarding a bearded dragon!
They have two great touch tanks on the second floor. Take the time to ask questions.
I have to say I'm not an advocate of animals or fish in captivity but the staff showed great caring for the animals and fish. It was a wonderful break from the beach and during all their shows promoted being good stewards of the oceans, not polluting, not leaving garbage or other items on the beach.
The bathrooms were very clean however I did not like that they kept the door propped open with a garbage can. Families would be standing a few feet from the stalls. There is a public, more private bathroom nearby.
Enjoy, read and check out all tanks and cages! Lots of information to learn about! Did you know that penguins don't have knees?? That's why they waddle. There are also several Amazon parrots there, donated by people who could no longer care for them. Did you know they live to be 100 years old? Good stuff!

this aquarium has a lot of interesting activities. on certain days you can watch the staff do the feedings of the wildlife.i.e, sharks, penguins, etc. great gift shop as well.

This aquarium is very nice and not too big. They stamp your hand so you can leave and return later the same day. This allows you to walk along the boardwalk and come back to see your favorite exhibits again. Perfect if you have little ones.

We visited in July for my daughters 8th birthday. What a treat. She had a blast. The staff is very informative. Everything appeared clean and the animals well taken care off. We would visit again! Love the ship placed in the middle of the exhibit !

the price was right and everyone was so nice and get to go in all day when your hand is stamped and definately coming back again

I have gone to Pt. Pleasant for over a decade and never visited the aquarium. My husband and I took our 1-year old (15 months) this past weekend. The aquarium is small, but it's cuter than I would have expected. We attended the seal feeding. I was very pleasantly surprised at how interested my son was. He was pressed up against the glass and actually stood still for several minutes (seems small, but parents of toddlers can appreciate). He was also into the penguins. I thought the sharks were cool and wishes that my son was old enough to do the touch tank.
Despite the small size, the aquarium had adequate space for strollers and a large diaper changing station. It was a nice touch that the diaper changing station was in the hallway, outside of the women's and men's rooms. This way dads could also change diapers. With a wiggly toddler, 2 parents makes the job WAY easier and more pleasant.
Also, when you pay admission, it's good for the whole day. So you can go in and out. While we didn't take advantage of this, I could see how it would be useful to see the different feedings and occasionally escape the heat on a beach day.
I would recommend Jenkinson's Aquarium for small children and would take my son back. Adults and older kids may find it small and boring.

I received free tickets to attend this aquarium. This place is a small Aquarium located right on the boardwalk. I was very impressed with how clean everything was including bathrooms right outside. The tanks were clean and I loved how they decorated not only the tanks but the surroundings. This place may be small but it was one of the cleanest, cutest aquariums we have visited. It didn't take us long to go through maybe 1-1.5 hrs and that was taking our time. I would say if I had paid the $14 per person (family of 4) ticket price along with the $10 to park then I would add it's kinda pricey for how small it is, but since it was free... I would recommend this place overall though.

I haven't been here for at least ten years and I was very impressed. It was highly improved and I enjoyed the experience with our son, his wife and their children. The exhibits and staff are fairly kid-friendly. That's something I appreciate in an aquarium, a zoo or a museum. It's a good place for a couple of hours activity and I recommend it.

We took our then 4yr old, and what a nice surprise! Just big enough to have some time out of the sun, without feeling overly committed because of cost. We saw a couple feedings. The staff was fantastic, very knowledgeable and engaging with our little guy. I would absolutely go back, and recommend to those with littles.

I have seen the Jenkinson's Aquarium every time I've taken my kids to the shore. I always assumed that it was small inside and lacking the presentation and variety of larger aquariums. Boy, was I wrong. My kids spent nearly two hours looking at penguins, sharks, seals, parrots, and turtles. The tanks are huge, some complete with top-down viewing areas. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. Also, the theming was terrific!

This place is so cool with the fish sharks and penguins it’s 15-20 to get in but the aquarium is big a lot of walking space and a lot of exploring

It is small but very nice presentation . The kids love it and like to see the show upstairs feeding the penguins and seal lions. Very cute gift shop upon exiting

A great little aquarium for younger children .
They have enough to keep toddlers and lower grade school children engaged . The big fish tank was a hit, with sharks and all sorts of larger fish . Lots of glass viewing areas allowed the children to get up close and see the gills and teeth of the fish! They loved it .
A small touch tank allowed them to see & feel starfish and horseshoe crabs . Penguins were also available to view and watch swim underwater as well as 2 seals . It's 2 floors and our little ones walked the entire time .
We went recently and arrived by 10:45 on a Wednesday & it was not crowded . I am sure in the Summer it's crowded!
Some arcades were open close by and there is an ice cream & candy shop a few steps away .
We parked in the lot right outside the aquarium , which was free . We did pack a lunch and just sat in the car to eat . I wasn't sure what restaurants were open close by and if the kids would like it
The aquarium allows you to leave and re enter with a stamp on your hand . That is convenient . All of the staff was helpful and willing the answer questions . They do have bathrooms & they were clean, but no seat liners ( so bring your own ) . We did have to stop by in the aquarium, once we left , to use it . Nearby shops did not have a restroom so keep that in mind with toddlers .
Overall a great experience with our grand children . It was a very easy outing and between the aquarium and arcade we were there several hours . They loved it !

We had so much fun and saw some very interesting exhibits...things we have not seen in other aquariums!! The BIG Moray was awesome, the shrimpfish (look like swimming sticks), such an assortment of colorful fish and the penquins were our favorites! It is set up nicely inside...and just big enough to be worth your time but not so big to be overwhelming. Plus...with your arm stamp, you can go back in any time during that day. We went back before heading home. They also have a great gift store.

Cute little aquarium.. It was cute that you could see them feed the anilmals and touch the sting rays,, you should stop by while your on the beach great price of $11 cant beat that

This is a small but very nice aquarium. I loved the penguin exhibit the most. Lots to do there besides just the aquarium.

This is not a big Aquarium but perfect for kids. The penguins were having drama so one was just staring at the wall. They are so cute!

This is a small but cute aquarium. They recommend leaving strollers at the entrance. They have an upstairs and only an elevator for handicapped. Which is monitored by staff so no getting your stroller up stairs. A shark tank, penguins, a seal are the big things downstairs. Upstairs is a touch pool and where you can see the shark feedings. The place is busy and gets a long line when the weather isn't great. $12 for adults and kids under 3 free.

This place rocks. The kids love it and its a great place to visit when it rains. They have penguins, sharks, and all kinds of fish. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, They will even bring penguins out to the boardwalk for the children. If you're in Point Pleasant, put this one on the list of must do. I don't think any other boardwalk in New Jersey or New York has an attraction like this.

The aquarium was very cute and the fact that it was on the boardwalk was ideal. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The animals were plentiful and the trainers were friendly and patient. The atmosphere was great for families with little children.

This was our second trip and the two experiences were complete opposite from one another. If you have the option, go during the off season, in the fall, winter, or spring. In the summer, it is packed!
The closest parking which is on the backside of the aquarium (and boardwalk) was $20 - cash only in the summer, or FREE when we went in January! We chose to park about two blocks down across the street and paid for 3 hours parking which was more than enough time, and cost under $10 for the meter.
Like I mentioned, there’s lots of people in the summer inside the aquarium as well as all around trying to get around on the boardwalk.
The aquarium isn’t very big and depending on how crowded it is, you could really see everything in an hour minimum.
There are two floors. The downstairs is stroller friendly (but can be hard to get around during a crowded time.) They have “stroller parking” at the bottom of the stairs, and no elevator. Most things to see are downstairs though, so if you can’t make it up, you’re not missing too much. Upstairs they have a few parrots, little monkeys, turtles, lizards, frogs, etc. and the “beach” area for the sea lions, but their water tank is seen from downstairs.
It’s always been clean and the staff we encountered is very friendly! It’s a nice trip for a rainy day, or to walk off lunch. It’s very conveniently placed with the entrance on the boardwalk facing the beach.
Going in the winter is awesome, there’s barely any people there!

Small aquarium on the Jenk's boardwalk catering to the under 7yo set. It's a good place spend an hour. Try to arrive in time to watch the feedings. My grandson enjoys visiting the aquarium on our vacations to the shore. Leave time for pizza at Jimmy Mac's.

Pretty small but nice and clean. The sharks, penguins and seals are definitely the top attraction. Very exciting for young kids but not too much to keep tweens and teens excited for more than 30-40 minutes, especially if you’ve been to bigger aquariums. Parking is more than the tickets.

Nice small aquarium sharks and penguins. Daily feeding. Of seal and penguins was nice for kids to see

Very nice for all ages. Sharks, eels, and all types of beautiful tropical fish. The penguin, shark, and seal feedings are very entertaining

The boardwalk and town were basically closed the Columbus Weekend so we went here. It was super clean in the tanks, etc., and some really great exhibits although it only took an hour to see everything. We got to see the feeding of the penquins which was fun and informative.

Unbelievable! Well worth a visit! It’s small but loaded with a variety of all fish, seals, penguins, birds, etc. I learned so much from the numerous volunteers who kept us informed every time our faces displayed a question! We watched the shark feeding… every single shark is fed by employees with every fish and weight they ate! We spent two and a half hours wandering around in awe! The decor is fantastic plus Christmas decorations were in place for their December festival. I really cannot say enough good!

I have been to Jenkinson’s Aquarium several times over the years, most recently last Winter Break with my daughter.
Jenkinson's is a great way to spend an hour or two (we were there just under two hours) on a Winter afternoon. In the off-season, parking is easy and crowds are minimal. Combined with a few games of Skeeball at the arcade right next door and it is easy to make an afternoon out of it.
Although not large, there are several ways to maximize the visit. Check beforehand for feeding times, for example. We were there for the sea lion feeding, dozens of kids and just as many adults watching with delight. We also attended a “Gator Talk” in which a staff member held a young alligator, gave a brief talk about these fascinating animals, and answered questions from the audience. We also took a few minutes to enjoy their “Touch Tank” in which my daughter got to touch a sea urchin and the underbelly of a horseshoe crab (which is an Arachnid, we learned from the knowledgable staff member). We thus got a lot out of the experience and had a fun time as a family on a winter’s day.

My son is 15 months old, and we took him to the aquarium two weeks ago. He loved it! It's a small aquarium and we stayed about an hour, which was the perfect amount of time for him. It was $12 for each adult and since my son is under 2, he was free. We went mid-day and it wasn't too crowded. He was able to walk around on his own, and we weren't worried he was going to get knocked down. Penguins, sharks, fish, seals, etc. They had a seal feeding demonstration when we were there. They also had a penguin feeding, but we didn't stay that long. There is a touch tank too. My son was too young for that. This aquarium is perfect if you have young kids!

It was a rainy Thursday when we arrived and decided to take the kids to the aquarium. Very clean, inviting and staff was very friendly and informative. We enjoyed watching the African penguins and the stingrays, sharks and jellyfish!

It had been years since our family had been to an aquarium, and the Jenkinson's Aquarium was accessible and affordable. We had a wonderful time, took some great pictures. A highlight was watching the penguins, and discussing them with the very knowledgeable scientist on staff who is one of those looking after them. A great day.

This aquarium is amazing. With two small kids it’s manageable and not overwhelming. There is plenty of variety of fish, sharks, penguins, and upstairs frogs, snakes, birds and seals. The seal feedings are great for kids. They also love the stingray tank. And it’s clean with family-oriented bathrooms. We’ve gone during the week and on the weekends, and the crowds have been manageable. You can also leave to have lunch and come back, which allows you to enjoy the boardwalk as well. Win all around!

My granddaughter loved it when we took her to places like Petco where she could see the live animals. So, after dinner at Jack Baker's Wharfside, we went to the aquarium for her to see all kinds of sea creatures. She loved the manta's and the really large sharks to name just two.

For a small aquarium on the boardwalk, this is decent. Fairly priced, and good for all ages. Taken my kids a few times, and they always enjoy it.

I have been to this aquarium many times, and have always had a great time. Whether with friends or family or while babysitting, it is always a pleasant place to visit in a great location that offers a lot of other attractions.
The aquarium is not too big and not too small. My average visit there has been around an hour to an hour and a half. However, I have noticed that the mid-day feeding time has offered the most interesting animal watching experience. All of the fish and other critters are out and about in their habitats, rather than hiding or sleeping. They have scheduled feeding times for the sharks, penguins, and seals throughout the day, too. You can find the up to date times on their website, as they may change with seasonal hours.
If you are coming from far away, there are many options in the area and on the boardwalk to make it a nice day trip. They stamp your hand so you can re-enter that day. Yay!

Recently visited on a Sunday afternoon off-season. Was pleasantly surprised by the aquarium. Good place for young children. Staff were doing regular story time and educational programs that visitors could sit in on. Enjoyed the penguins and fish.

Not very large, but a good compact aquarium where the young kids would have a great time. I don't think kids more than 7 years of age would be interested for long but younger kids would enjoy. Penguin feeding was nice, a small touch tank, some interesting frogs, turtles and one python. Good to engage young kids for 2 hours or so. Can be combined with a day at point pleasant beach for a day - not worth as a separate trip. Parking is pricey.

This is an adorable aquarium with several touch tanks for the little ones to experiment with. There are just enough fish and sea creatures to keep the 8 and under entertained for about an hour. There were several feeding times for the fish, and also it was not crowded when we attended.

Very impressed with the size once inside and the wide variety of animals was wonderful the Staff were all well informed and shared their knowledge with you We had a Great Experience !!!!

I've never been here before but don't live too far so I decided to take my 2 1/2 year old son to go see some fishies. It's a small aquarium but free for kids under 3. All the kids were excited to see a Nemo and Dory. They had a few large sharks, too. I'm torn about the penguins and seals, though. Of course we loved to see them up close but the tanks are small. The animal lover in me wants to see them expand and offer a larger area for these animals. I liked the room upstairs that focused on conservation and fighting illegal trading.

Great place, lots of sights to see, big on school trips, on boardwalk, short distance to rides, good place to take families, workers are well informed and its fun too!!

Prices are fair, interior is nice - not huge, not small. Lots of different animals to see. Wish they had bigger areas for them all to live in though

Hadn't visited for several years. Still fun! Lots of cool sharks, still lots to learn. Staff are very engaging. Very good for young kids, but also for older ones with an interest in marine life.

Looking for something to do this fall with the kids? This is a great place to visit for all ages. Alot of interesting fish and reptiles to see. Employees very informative and friendly

Small but quaint aquarium which beyond fish includes a wide array of reptiles, some birds and marmosets.
While the seals look tired the penguins appear to be doing well

Went here with my 8 year old son, 7 year old neice, and 4 year old nephew. We had a nice time. I think this is great for young children. The aquarium exhibits are on the 1st floor, and then on the 2nd floor there are other exhibits. There is also a large viewing area to watch them do feeding time for the animals. I wanted to take the kids to see that, but we missed the times. I suggest you find out these times and make plans to see it as I have heard from other friends that this is cool to see. It only took us about 2 hours to go through the whole place, and that's with the kids stopping and looking at everything. Great visit.

The aquarium at Point Pleasant Beach is a must-visit, offering a variety of exhibits, including interactive touch tanks, vibrant fish displays, and impressive shark tanks. This year, new exhibits add even more excitement, showcasing the wonders of ocean life. It's the perfect spot to explore marine creatures up close while enjoying the beachside atmosphere. It gives you a nice cool place to relax when on the hot beach all day. My daughter is 9 and loved it! The restrooms are also very clean.

Been coming for many years but now seeing it through the eyes of my grandson and its such a thrill. Sad about Luseal, the resident seal that just passed away but they handled her passing with dignity and compassion and it is a life lesson that we all must learn. Well done Jenkinsons!

Visited this aquarium with friends at the end of our long weekend on the Jersey Shore. We wanted something to do inside to take a breather from the hot sun. As far as aquariums go, it's small. A lot of the tanks and glass boxes (for smaller animals) were empty. It was good to see the staff cleaning and walking around checking on animals consistently. They have a restroom which is also good, but you can't bring food or drinks inside. Good for kids, not too overwhelming for them. Good gift shop as far as aquarium gift shops go. We finished our tour of the place in under and hour as we were bored, but that's a group of 20 and 30-something gals for ya! Lol

Jenkinson's Aquarium is a small place and doesn't take long. However, it has a wide variety of fish, mammals, amphibian and reptiles. All animals on display are well described on the plaques and monitors around the tanks. The children's area with animals to touch is large and easy for kids to use. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

The different displays were really great.
Price to get in was reasonable.
I had a great time there .

Fun for the little ones! Over the age of 10 may find this place too small and uneventful especially if they have been to larger aquariums. Check it out before you buy tickets for the whole family!

The staff at the aquarium were extremely welcoming and helpful. The aquarium has a wide variety of animals including penguins, sea lions, and sharks. It was easily one of my favorite parts of our trip to Point Pleasant.

I took my 4 and 8 year old here, it was so nice and educational but not overwhelming, the size and location was perfect. Brianna was wonderful and answered ALL of our questions. Definitely going back.

I wouldn't go out of my way to visit, but a nice stop if you're already on the boardwalk and want to get out of the sun for a bit. It's relatively small, and you can easily do the whole thing in an hour, especially with short-attention-spanned little kids. The seal tank was a bit small and sad, and the seals didn't look too happy. But otherwise not bad.

This was a great place to entertain the kids, and the adults also enjoyed the break from the sun and sand.

Went here for a family day even though I’m against aquariums and zoos. I should have listened to my gut because this place is awful. The spaces they have the animals in are so small. They had a giant anaconda in a 4x3 (at the biggest) tank. They had I don’t even know how many beautiful parrots in a small, small area. Smaller than your average bedroom. They looked so depressed. Even the sharks looked sad. They had a tank with shark, eel, and a few other fish and the fish were so big they just swam in circles the whole time. The seal tank was just as depressing as the rest of this place. Two seals circling around a small enclosure, just like the fish. There was probably 20 penguins in a small, small enclosure also. I wouldn’t recommend and I hope this place is closed and those animals can go to a rescue that will take real care of them.

We were initially hesitant on making the trip to an aquarium located on a boardwalk (it appeared to be a whimsical idea to just slap this type of venue between arcades and food & beverage stalls), but glad that we ultimately chose to go. The Jenkinson's Aquarium is a gem of the Point Pleasant beach area.
The pricing is comparably less than what you would pay at Adventure Aquarium (Camden) and Sea Life (American Dream Mall, Secaucus); we spent around $58 on admission for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children). For the sake of ease and proximity, we parked in the medium-sized lot (the parking spaces are a bit tight and the lot itself will fill up quick, although there appeared to be a decent throughput of these spaces) right behind the venue for $15. Overall, the experience you get at Jenkinson's Aquarium arguably exceeds what you're paying for.
As identified by others, it is a smaller aquarium. However, it makes up for its size with the variety of unique exhibits that surprises you as you round each corner. We found ourselves circling back quite a few times just to view the different species of aquatic life; compared to some of the bigger aquariums we visited around the nation, we surprisingly spent quite a bit of time in this aquarium as opposed to breezing right through.
The aquarium had a perfect ratio of different animals (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals) that appeared to be perfectly situated around the premise; the floor design was effective and made most of the "small" size. The Jenkinson' Aquarium had over a dozen unique animals (to include some Jersey natives) that we have not seen in any other aquarium around the nation which was perfect and ideal for this New Jersey landmark.
The added bonus to Jenkinson's Aquarium is its effort to raise awareness on environmental stewardship and conservation. A good amount of the animals at Jenkinson's Aquarium are rescued/rehabilitated, which helped produce a unique identity for the exhibits. The staff were also incredibly friendly and informative which is a breath of fresh air on the Jersey shore.
Jenkinson's Aquarium is definitely worth the trip - make this your destination and walking the boardwalk an afterthought!

We took our almost 2 year old here for something to do in the lovely January weather that is not playing at home. The aquarium is smaller but great for younger kids. The staff was very helpful and provided a lot of information. It was a great afternoon.

Not so big but no too small. There're penguins, big fish, small fish and turtles etc. 2nd story building offered many spices to enjoy. Occasionally, they run reading session or some fun events for kids.

Kills at least an hour on a rainy day (grab lunch nearby and that's another hour--and maybe an arcade--and that's 3.
You're welcome). Surprisingly airy inside with lots of creepy creatures and monsters of the deep. My twins have been going since they were 5. They are 11 now--and they still like going. Try to time it for the feeding of the seals. Very cool. Touch tanks on second floor. Rays, horseshoe crabs, starfish. Cute gift store. Don't buy the hermit crabs!! They die too quickly.

nice place to bring children of all ages. Right on the board walk in Pt. Pleasant. Fish, penguins. Also a gift shop.

I have gone to this aquarium for years, when i was a kid and then i took my own kids. I went with friends this time so i didn't have to worry about going to slow. I always enjoy this aquarium. Its small, but they have a lot to see. Touch tanks for the kids. The Penguins are the most popular.

Went recently to the Point Pleasant boardwalk and found it small and cramped. So took a chance and hit the Aquarium. It was $12 for adults. Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. It had quite a few exhibits, a number of shows and feedings and even a petting pool. The combination of price and exhibits makes it a definite place to visit if you are in the area.

I really enjoyed my visit to this aquarium. I went early and was able to see several feedings, which was a great opportunity to ask questions about the animals. They have 2 levels with a lot of different types of animals, not just what you might expect in an aquarium. My favorite was the penguin exhibit, but also seeing the different sharks was very interesting. The staff was very kind and appreciated questions and feedback. This isn't a huge place that you need all day, which is great for families with smaller kids or if you don't have all day to spend. I spent time here then had the rest of the day to do other things, which was perfect for me. I felt it was well worth the cost and I had a great time.

We decided to go due to forecasted rain. We had a 11 year old and two 1 year olds. It was great. Lots to see in a small aquarium. The kids loved seeing the big tanks of fish and marine life. The tanks are set up so kids of all ages can see the animals. The facility is very clean and neat.
We brought two strollers which were fine to move about. However there are some exhibits upstairs which does not permit you to bring the elevator. They said the elevator is ONLY for wheelchairs. My MIL has knee issues and struggles on stairs. The staff said she would have to use the stairs. ( only downfall to the visit)
Upstairs visitors have an opportunity to touch animals. But be sure to wash your hands before so the friendly staff don’t yell at you.
All in all For the size and price, it was a very enjoyable experience for everyone. I would suggest this to others.

Spent 2 hours on 2 floors and learned things that we didn't know. Very clean building with adequate rest rooms and wheel chair friendly access. Go early and park behind it for good access to the boardwalk for an after the visit bite to eat.

This aquarium is very clean and well-kept. It is small, but larger than you would expect for being right on the boardwalk. The staff was very knowledgeable, and my kids loved learning about the sharks and watching them eat. It is a perfect learning experience to go along with a trip to the beach!

You can go all the time and see something new that you missed on other visits!! Always something new to see that was over looked on other visits!! Staff is always nice and helpful and kid friendly staff. Always willing to explain things to kids and help with things, whether it be a question that they might have and anything else!!
Great jobs as always!!

Two floors, not really large yet lots to see, including local pinelands section. We just stumbled upon it in the evening and they had half price tickets so it was a good deal for us 2 adults who were just walking through it quickly. I also have to say, it was nice to also use their restrooms before hitting the road back home. We highly recommend those with children check out their special ongoing events as well.

This aquarium is small, but mighty. They have a Touch tank and a feeding schedule where you can watch them feed the sea lions and other aquarium animals. It’s also perfect to get out of the heat in the summer up at the boardwalk.

The penguins are by far my favorite part of the aquarium but the seals, sharks, and other fish are really cool too! There's also a touch tank upstairs for little ones and they do educational shows with the seals and penguins that are nice to watch.

We brought our 27 month old and 2 month old for a visit and had a great time. We arrived shortly after 9 am opening (in December ) and viewed all exhibits and even seal and penguin feedings -all without waning interest of such a short attention span of a 2 year old! Maybe next time our toddler will be old enough to enjoy the 'touch tank'! The employees are so informative, caring, and attentive to youngsters it will be a pleasure to come back. Beautiful tanks are full of curious inhabitants who closely greet visitors. We viewed snakes, monkeys, macaws, & salamanders as well.

Nice little aquarium plenty of different displays. Had fun with my son for his birthday. We just came to see the penguin.

We were in town for the weekend attending a family graduation party in nearby Staten Island and went to Point Pleasant to spend the afternoon. We went into the aquarium to kill some time based on the recommendation of one of the members of our party. It was a nice aquarium, but $14 seemed very high for a place that be seen in its entirety in an hour. or less. On a positive note, the facility seemed very clean and the animals seemed to be well taken care of. The highlight of the visit was definitely the penquin exhibit, and if you happen to be there at feeding time for the sharks it's worth checking out.

What a fun and interesting place! They do excellent work there. Much more than i expected. We go every year at least once and always have a great time

It was a rainy day at Point Pleasant Beach and we decided to go check out the acquarium...Surprise, surprise...this little place was big enough. Full of amazing sea life, big tanks with sharks and even penguins. The kids truly enjoyed it. The overall favorite was the rescue seal with a bi-level viewing tank.Kids also liked the tanks where they touched smaller sharks and sting rays. The admission process was a bit slow due to the small ticket area. The gift shop was well stocked with the usual souvenirs and beach themed gifts;also a small area and difficult to navigate with small ones.If ever near Point Pleasant go check it out. It's worth it...

We visited in October and it was not crowded at all. It's a nice little place that had just enough to do for my toddler. We were there about am hour. It's definitely worth the visit especially since you csn enjoy the boardwalk while there.

The keyword as to why I only give this place four out of five is "Little". As in the tanks for some of these animals. I felt bad for the seals, the sharks, and some of the larger animals, who don't have much room to swim around. The one seal we were watching just kept swimming back and forth and back and forth, in a tank that's smaller than what I imagine they should have. That's not to say that they aren't well stimulated or well taken care of, but I just would imagine that they should be in some sort of larger habitat (which they wouldn't have here without some sort of major expansion).
That being said, my daughter loved going around and seeing the other animals - the penguins were my favorite, personally.

It was a small aquarium, my grandson enjoyed it. They had a touch table where he pet a stingray, starfish, crab and sea urchin. We watched the sea lion and sharks for feeding time, penguins were cute. Tanks seemed small. But it was a nice place to visit on a rainy day

We had a ball looking at all the fish and animals. I really got a kick out of my youngest granddaughter seeing her first shark. The place had an impact on all the people that was there.

Jenkinson’s Aquarium is perfect for young children. It is very conveniently located on the boardwalk with parking right outside. (During Summer holidays, expect mad traffic and general chaos). This is a small facility that is very well maintained and a fantastic experience for kids.

The aquarium was the perfect size! Tou dont have to spend all day in there, but your time isnt wasted either! The staff were friendly, informative, and helpful. It was well decorated and just fun to walk around. The tanks and enclosures were well taken care of and the animals looks healthy and happy. Just overall a great place to visit! Glad I went!

This aquarium is not huge, but pretty complete, none-the-less. They even have a few non-aquatic animals. They have a touch pool, large shark and seal tanks, saltwater and freshwater tanks, views from above as well as through the glass. It's housed in a fairly hurricane-proof concrete building and tended by about a dozen full-time staff who seem to both know their stuff an really care. A really fun place to visit. The views from above require climbing a flight of stairs.

This was a delight! The perfect size for young children to visit with some hands on items and of course, you want to watch them feed the penguins and seals! Beautiful selections of fish, especially. Information plaques to read. A real neat find on the boardwalk.

Usually no complaints about Jenkinson but as of sept they are doing renovations to the upstairs which essentially cuts the place in half but are still charging the full rate. The person who answered phone when we called also told us to prepare that when work is done prices are getting jacked! Place was crowded and could see most of exhibits due to limited space and over crowding. I would hold off until work is done not worth money as of now!

Well had a awesome time seeing all the fish in tanks and seals and turtles ect was clean and fun very exciting

Like taking our grandchildren here. Nice exhibits. Hands on tank for kids. A deceptively large aquarium considering its location. Staff friendly and helpful. Our grandkids love it. We prefer off season when its less crowded We also call ahead to see if there are large school groups attending as it can be a little hectic and crowded if you have small children
competing to see the exhibits. Seniors can get a discount, but they raised the age to 65 which is not a customer friendly thing to do in my opinion, which is another reason I ranked it at 4 stars.

We went Father's Day weekend and had a great time. They had a special where Dad was free. It' smaller, but great for toddlers. We have a 2.5 year old and she loved it. Big enough to see a lot of different animals. The sting rays, penguins, and seals are the highlights. Small enough to not get overexhausted or overwhelmed. Also right on the boardwalk with access to the beach, boardwalk food, and boardwalk games/arcades.

First time going into the aquarium although we have walk past it many times! It's small but we loved it. It was my grown daughter and I. We took our time and really enjoyed looking at the sharks, sting rays, penguins, crabs etc. The decor is cool with the big pirate ship in the middle. It was also very clean and nice the way it was set up. Nice gift shop as well.

We came to Jenkinson's Boardwalk so we could come here. I was here several years ago and we all enjoyed it so much. It is so clean and lots to see for all ages. Love the Penguins ! So cute. It has a cute gift shop when you are done, with some cute things.

My wife and I decided to drive to Pt Pleasant from our home in northern NJ with dinner plans and, to enjoy the boardwalk. It had been a few years since we made this trip. We chose this past Monday to make the drive. We left home around noon and arrived at Pt Pleasant within an hour and 20 minutes, very good time.
While on the boardwalk, we paused in front of the Aquarium as it sparked my interest. My wife, being a teacher, had taken her class here several times yet had not been back in a few years. I had never been inside of the aquarium.
With tickets in hand, we entered the nicely air-conditioned building. My initial impressions: the interior design portrayed nothing close to what was suggested on the exterior; your faced with many nautical motifs, high ceilings, perfect accent lighting, a myriad of tanks and displays, the home to a full array of sea creatures as well as rare birds, penguins, seals and more. This walk-thru was becomming quite interesting!
As we continued with our self-guided tour, we found that the aquarium is built upon several levels affording the visitor with many views of both sea life and land animals. Diaramas were created throughout the aquarium which replicated the natural habitat of every creature on display.
Signage was discretely posted throughout our walk-thru which gave one a complete description and history of every creature within their habitat. The aquarium staff did, indeed, produce a very complete and accurate portrayal of their charges for the public to view as their their self-guided tour continued.
It became clear that ecology and conservation are paramount to the aquarium.
For example, working displays had been carefully constructed to illustrate how seawater is pumped into certain vessels and exchanged for fresh water without causing any changes to the natural chemistry of our ocean.
Finding a good viewing point on the upper gallery, we were treated to the 4PM shark feeding. Two staff members worked together to feed the sharks that were trained to recognize targets placed in the tank. Once the sharks swam up to the target, staff extended a long pole with food that the sharks took immediately! This was quite an interesting feeding session!
Clearly, the aquarium's message is conservation. We must do everything we can to keep our oceans and lands clean so these fantastic creatures can continue to be seen for many, many years to come. Jenkinson's Aquarium is the perfect setting for both the very young and all ages to become aware of our unique environment and to care for them as well. A highly recommended visit!

Nice aquarium, but absolutely no inforcement of social distancing. Everyone was on top of one another.

Great for adults and kids alike. My Grandson loved it, he was 4. I actually really enjoyed it! The aquarium is set up very nicely. Wild life seems very well cared for and the place was very clean. The penguins were a big hit with the kids. Very nice place to spend a family fun day.

My son loves animals. I was excited to know an additional bonus to Jenkinson's Boardwalk is the aquarium. If you are trying to save money there is a coupon that will save you a few dollars. The aquarium stays open until 10:00. Unfortunately, my family and I arrived one hour prior to closing. My two younger kids loved the shark and penguins. We did not need to spend more than half an hour in the aquarium. Next time I will try to go during feeding time. All in all the aquarium was icing on the cake for our visit to Jenkinson's Boardwalk.

Enjoyed it as a kid now my kids love it too!! Form the small sea horses, frogs to turtles, penguins, seals and sharks truly awesome spectacular sight! Every time you go you see and learn something new no matter what your age. Don't forgot go to visit the touching tank on the second floor with the rays!!

We took our grandchildren to the aquarium on a beautiful day. We have been here a few times but the kids never tire of visiting here. The facility is clean and the guides are fantastic. The aquarium is just the right size for younger kids and they never tire of seeing the wonderful exhibits. They especially like the sharks and penguins. You can’t go wrong with a 1 ½ hour visit here.

We really enjoyed this aquarium- not to big not to small! To my surprise they had my favorite sea creature- JELLYFISH!!! We also loved that you can watch the feedings of the animals. Great selection of sea life!! Kids had a blast and so did we!! We will defiantly go there again whenever we come to Point pleasant!

We loved this aquarium! This is a great place to go and see the fish, penguins touch the stingrays, and see sharks! It has a cool pirate ship in the middle to take pics with the kids. We enjoyed going here

I took my twin grandchildren (age 6.5) to visit and it was well worth it. The admission price is fair and you can even come and go within certain hours. We arrived in time for the shark feeding which was okay. Everything is nicely done. It's not a huge aquarium but certainly big enough with everything you'd expect to see. The kids really enjoyed the petting area. A must do if you're in the area with kids,...even teenagers and adults would enjoy it.

Love that there is something that is family friendly, and animals at the shore. Great place to visit on a HOT day, or a rainy day! Love the animals.

I got to go behind the scenes with a close friend, who let me pet the penguins years back.. Really cool experience, and always fun times.

not bad for a local privately owned place. not aware of any gont funding or major befenfactors so if in the 2 hour area it is worth the drive. and there are good resturants walking distance.....real close.

Worth the $14. You can see the entire thing in as little as 15 minutes or take your time and spend an hour.

It's not Sea World (and perhaps that will make you happy) but it's still worth the time if you appreciate sea life. There isn't a tremendous amount to see and do inside the small building- some fish and sharks, penguins and sea lions are the featured exhibits- but if you have small children, they'll help you appreciate it all on a different level. Plan on spending a few hours if you have children, otherwise adults can probably see everything in about an hour.

The 2 year old in our group had great fun seeing all the fish and other "creatures" at the aquarium. She was fascinated with the penguins! She even liked the snake!! I highly recommend a visit here!!

Its a reasonable size aquarium. You see loads of different kinds of fish, frogs and turtles. You also see half blind sealions. They have penquins with a name for each one of them. Beads on one of their wings to tell them apart. They have beautiful birds on the second floor and little monkeys too. I love it!

I haven't been here since a teenager and that's a very long time. This place was great! It's not big and it's not small. A lot to see. Go later in the afternoon less of a crowd. Be sure to see the Sharks they are really awesome. Friendly staff. Right on the beach and they have a gift shop.

Really nice, well maintained small aquarium worthy of a visit! We loved Jenkinson’s! Located right on the boardwalk, this aquarium was great to visit! It may appear small but what you get to see is amazing & well cared for.
All the staff was friendly & eager to share facts about the animals in the exhibits. The aquarium itself was clean, easy to explore & the animals looked super healthy & cared for! We loveddddd the penguin exhibit - honestly, the penguins alone was worth the visit. They all were super healthy, happy & we loved learning about them with their little beaded bracelets which you can learn their names & age on a screen next to the exhibit. The bracelets are color coded so you can see the penguins name you are looking at.
Another highlight was the sloth! Wally the sloth was napping but we were able to see him in his exhibit up close to the glass. They also have 2 seals that do a feeding show twice a day which we got lucky to witness!
Such a beautiful aquarium that focuses on keeping the animals they have healthy VS packing in as much as they can for views which was nice. Well worth the $18 pp entry cost!

Small aquarium but definitely worth the visit, very clean and the animals well cared for. Would definitely visit again

You will be surprised, Great for all ages. Since we are local we usally go in the off season.Fun and informative.Takes all of about an hour.

This was amazing for such a small aquarium. They had a great set up and lots of staff on hand to answer any questions. The place was very well taken care and there's more to see than you would think when you look at the outside of the bldg. We would definitely go again. It was two adults and we were in there approx 2 hours. There is floor to ceiling glass aquariums that hold sharks, turtles, and various fish. There was a pirate ship display in the middle a lit up for the kids to enjoy. There are birds, amphibians, reptiles, and even scheduled feeding times for the penguins and sharks for you to enjoy. There is a gift shop as you exit the facility.

We have been here twice in the last few years. The staff is great, well-educated about the exhibits and really friendly. This is a great option for small kids or kids with short attention spans, as the aquarium is not that large. So you are in and out within an hour.

Went here by myself to take a look at the aquarium. Clean, friendly and the staff was informative and helpful.

This aquarium is perfect for families with small children and older as well. It’s not giant so it can be completed thoroughly in a solid hour. They have everything from small tanks to large sharks and sea turtles. Seals were adorable. They even have a sloth. It’s fantastic.

Great place to visit, if small - about an hour to walk through, tops. Staff has nice interactive events like feeding penguins. There is a small section as well as a second floor not accessible by baby pram - need to park pram and carry infant up a flight of stairs. Bathrooms are clean, there is one changing table out in open.

Took my 5 year old to this aquarium. An awesome learning experience. Greta shark tank and a decent variety of fish. We did the free beach walking and educational tour. Very informative and a fun time. Price for entry is reasonable. Expect to spend about an 1 hour to an 1 1/2 here. Great for a rainy day.
Highly recommended if you're at the beach for several days.

We came and the day was a blast. Friendly staff answers all your questions. 2 levels of fun with the monkeys being the best with their tiny size. Lucy dazzled all with her ability to navigate given her loss of sight. The penguins performed for the children diving into the water and coming close to the glass.

This aquarium looks small from the outside, but it is totally worth every penny. Entering the aquarium is very suprising to realize it is much bigger than it looks. If you have time to take a peak, its worth your time, for family and couples.

A must see every year!
Reasonably priced. Always interesting and educational.
A fun time for all ages.

This was such a nice aquarium! We loved the variety of animals. The sloth, penguins and seals were our favorites but the sharks were awesome to see too! We could have sat there for hours watching them swim back and forth. It doesn’t take that long to go through so we were able to fit it in the same day as our other activities. If you are planning b a trip to Point Pleasant, this a a must do!

This is a nice place for children. It is not that big, but there are enough animals there to keep children busy for a couple of hours. It is right on the boardwalk and right across from the beach as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the aquarium. Fun, informative, very clean, friendly staff. Such a good time! Would recommend it for sure!

A small but nicely arranged aquarium. Highlights were the seals and penguins. It is family oriented but cramped at times particularly with strollers. The entrance is especially tight. Adults may get bored quickly. There seems to be a elevator for wheelchairs but for strollers you probably keep it on first floor and walk up the stairs. There is a raised platform exhibit that is not easy for young children. The exhibits are nice overall. The 14 dollar per adult fee is the upper limit of what i would pay. Kids under 3 go free. We spent two hours there. Hard to imagine staying there much longer.

Went to this place with my kids. Me and the wife took some pot brownies before entering haha we were blown away! Amazing animals and friendly workers. No problem at all finding the kids when we lost them, the employees basically took care of the entire situation.

we took my 17month old grandson to jenkinson's Aquarium on a cloudy Tuesday afternoon. I must confess I was thinking this would be low volume day (omg) was I wrong Guess what we had blast anyway. Not only did my grandson love the aquarium he was in awed by the large sharks and the touch tank and thought the penguins were play mates. We enjoyed 2 hours in the aquarium and then bought some really cool items from their shop. As we decided to get some boardwalk nutrition LOL. We filled up on burgers ,chicken fingers, huge pale of French fries and some ice cream and Zeppolies .The baby had a little of everything. We strolled around played some games and completely tired that baby boy out( Yes).Ok he was not the only one that was wiped out. I was very pleased to notice the prices were high but affordable .I was also very happy to see all kinds of people at the boardwalk so the baby grows up seeing not just us but everyone out having a fun time .

For such a small aquarium there’s plenty to see and do. I especially appreciated the seal feeding and hearing how both seals had been rescued. Re-entry is a breeze thanks to the hand stamp. Being there off season it was convenient to pop back in, even if just to use the bathrooms.

We visited the aquarium on our first trip to Point Pleasant, my best friend, her son and my little cousin. The kids loved the aquarium. They were able to touch the sting rays and loved seeing the shark feeding and also the penguin feeding. Staff was very friendly and were able to answer all of the kids questions . Definitely recommend a trip to the aquarium on your Point Pleasant stay .

Nice friendly staff throughout, entrance small and friendly, and the entire place well laid out with plenty of information throughout,, shop on the way out

This is the perfect aquarium to bring young children too. It was not crowded and offers plenty of free parking. They have a tank with little sting rays (their barbs are removed) that the kids can actually touch.
They gave a tank with sharks and big fish which is fascinating to all kids as well as a nice penguin exhibit. One of the employees was on hand to speak about and answer questions about the penguins. The have 2 harbor seals which are trained to wave and retrieve small balls thrown to them. We were there for their feeding time which was very cute!
Not very pricey entrance fee at the door, they stamp your hand so you can go out and come back in same day.

Wanted to go mainly for the penguins - but was very surprised at the rest of the aquarium. It is a small aquarium but very nicely done! We did not have any children with us, but it looks to be very informative for the little ones. A nice stop at the beach!

The Aquarium is small but very nice. Our family enjoyed visiting! The shark tank was especially interesting. Make sure you visit the 2nd level as there are fun exhibits upstairs also.

Our young daughter loved it and we were impressed ! it was very well kept and all the animals looked really heathly, its incredible how much they packed into the small building yet all the aquatic life had loads of room ;-) price was reasonable and there are some good interactive elements such as touching the rays and horseshoe crab. Prob only an hours excursion but well worth it

This aquarium is small but so cute. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable! They redid the sea lion area and offer a cute show with lots of information about the seals. They also have a great christmas time light display.

Very nice aquarium not overwhelming for small children- Folks who worked there were happy to share their knowledge. This is a smaller aquarium with a great variety- from Sharks to Chichclids, snakes, Treefrogs, penquin Seals and even birds and owls, We had a fantastic time and we will definitely go back

Hard to Spend more than an Hour here. But they do have lots of exhibits for a small place.
Mostly small tanks but a few larger exhibits.

The children start out with penguins and worked her way over to watch the sharks and large fish. As they went up the steps there are greeted with a horseshoe crab. The children were thrilled to see so much in an hour that they were inside the aquarium

It’s a cute aquarium but small and not worth $14 for adults. The staff isn’t particularly friendly either. I got yelled at for putting my hand in the touch tank. Never visited a touch tank you couldn’t touch before.

This was one of are favorite stops on are vacation. After staying at the beach and wanting to bring a kids somewhere, this was perfect. Its just big enough to make them happy and excited. There are many fish and sharks etc. Touch tank, which my daughter enjoyed. We stopped for a show on penguins, the lady was super nice. She answered all questions and talked about many fun facts. My daughter was very interested in the show. I like how the aquarium was set up, very fun place. The price is super reasonable to get in.

clildren loved it feeding times posted friendly helpful staff..benches for a tired grandma to sit on and watch..nice atmosphere

This has been a favorite of our family's for many years. A wonderful experience is offered for young and old. The staff is very knowledgeable and always appear to be having fun. Their love and enthusiasm for the animals in their care is contagious. Stop by soon and "get infected". Perfect activity for a rainy day at the shore.

Unless you wait around for the various feedings, I can't see spending much more than an hour here. The best attractions are the sharks, seals, penguins and a small touch tank, for young children.
Admission fees are reasonable but parking can be an issue. I mistakenly ended up in their lot where they charged me $20 and since it was valet that day, I had to leave my keys in the car with the window open plus give a tip. Next time I will try a different lot. Either way, get there early because lots fill up quickly.
As previously stated, it is small but very nicely done and meticulously maintained. Not much, if anything, has changed over the past 20 years but still looks like new.
It may not be worth driving a long distance just to visit, but if you're close by or intend to spend the remainder of the day on the boardwalk, beach or playing mini golf, then it should work nicely into your day.
Overall, it is better than average but doesn't get 5 stars because there are other much larger aquariums out there.

Well laid out with ots of stuff to see in a small space. Depending on what you do, can take from 45 to 90 minutes to go through. Kids love it. Good to use to get out of the mid day heat in summer but they also put on nice program with decorations for Christmas.

Took my grandkids there and they had a wonderful time. The fish are all from the Pacific coast. The Penguin exhibit is terrific. Sharks are plentiful and there is a touch pool for the kids.

this is a great little aquarium had a fantastic time ,, very clean , the fish and tanks all seem to be well cared for . the penguins and seals are a must ,,, lol ,,, very funny . staff very friendly .

Thought this would be a dinky, boring place with crappy exhibits, but we were truly, pleasantly surprised that it was a great little aquarium with some excellent exhibits. It's well run, staff was friendly and the place really is a cool spot to go inside on a hot day.

The aquarium is a really a great place. You can watch the sharks being fed and pet a ray. We took my grandson there and he had a wonderful time.

We visited during the holidays and were so amazed by the aquarium! So many fascinating tanks of fish, stingrays and sharks! The staff was so attentive ! They provided lots of information as you toured through the facility.
It was very relaxing and enjoyable!
My favorites were the penguins! They have
Personality !
Please go!
You will not be disappointed!

We stopped in for the 1st time last week and wish I had taken my kids and older grandkids there when they were little. My 3 year-old granddaughter loved it. It is just the right size for the younger kids. The larger aquariums are just too much for them to endure. Lots of colorful fish. A great turtle tank. Nautical décor. Please touch tank with friendly staff. We saw them feed the turtles, seal and sharks. Kid/stroller friendly bathroom. Stairs but an elevator for W/C only. Plenty for adults to read and for kids to investigate. Nice gift shop and you are right on the boardwalk. Easy parking in lot. Check the schedule for events and feeding times before you go. They change with the seasons. They also stamp your hand so you can go out and reenter.

Has all the highlights, all rescue animals, feedings are fun, very informative and it's perfect for the kids.
One of the best parts is once you buy a pass you can go in and out all day for a break and then come back in and revisit or catch a feeding. Great place for the kids as everything is close and interactive.

Went in to the aquarium for a break from the heat and to change things up for the kids. We (adults) were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The aquarium is significantly bigger inside than the outside would lead you to believe. There was a large assortment of marine life including large mammals, and educational presentation by staff.

nice 2 hours away from heat of the day,,small but spread out nicely, and how can you say anything negative about penguins?Try to go for shark feeding and sea lion feeding as it spreads out your stay--small touch tank, helpful staff admission reasaonable.

This is a great little aquarium located right on the boardwalk. Great place for little kids or just to get out of the summer heat.
Exhibits and animals are well maintained.
Budget friendly

This aquarium is not the biggest, but it features about a couple hours' worth of sea creatures. There are two floors of exhibits. I seem to recall stingrays, sharks, jellies, a couple of seals, and a touch tank with horseshoe crabs, sea stars, and sea urchins. It even had a tiny golden tamarind monkey, even though it's not aquatic. I saw a staffperson leading a group of kids on a guided tour during my visit. It all appeared to be clean, well-run and appealingly presented.
My oldest kid had been there before on a field trip and seemed to enjoy her second visit.
It also has a nice gift shop along the way out, with quite a variety of souvenir merchandise, incl toys, stuffed animals, jewelry, clothing, artwork, handmade crafts, and more. Browsing through the whole store might take a while, so watch out. Kids will want to explore and might get testy if they must leave the shop empty-handed.
Tips: Consider heading to the aquarium as a first stop, especiallly for use of its parking lot if you drive there. The parking lot guys are quite amiable. Pay for parking sufficient for the duration of your trip, and use it as your base (otherwise parking for a beach visit in that town might be a nightmare). The aquarium is located directly on the boardwalk, in walking distance from the beach. There is a Bar and Grill close by with foodcourt on first floor (which is the subject of a separate review I have posted) and full service restaurant on top floor.
Overall, I recommend this as part of a trip with kids to the Point Pleasant beach and boardwalk. It gets points not only for providing a nice little aquarium but also for serving as a convenient starting point and base for one's Point Pleasant daytrip. It didn't earn a fifth star from me because it's not big enough for me to recommend on its own as a standalone destination for an entire day trip. It's good you have a couple of hours to kill in that area, especially with kids.

We went on July 4th week and loved seeing all the fish penguins parrots seals very clean would go again
The whole building has been cleaned up and reorganized. Friendly staff to answer questions. All the tanks are clean not over crowded. They have touch tanks that are very fun.
