We walked up the mountain and the leaves were "raining" on us. Very pretty. Off season, so we did not ski.

They really keep this place up great. Even with an unpredictable winter weather they make every effort to keep the mountain in the best condition possible. We had a great time. Recommend calling central reservation to get best deal possible.

This organization knows how to run a mountain in the midst of a pandemic. The precautions taken made me feel very safe.
The trials were great - great grooming and midweek was not that crowded

We have IKON passes and come here, from Maine, several times every year. It’s always busy, but once you know you’re way around, it’s not hard to avoid traffic jams. This year, I was told that Killington is about 24” of snow behind where it normally is at this time of year. Still conditions were very good. Day passes are expensive, so IKON is the way to go.

As a new skier, I was intimidated going to a mountain as big as Killington, but I am glad I did. Despite it being a crowded day, the slopes themselves were MUCH LESS crowded than the mountain I took my first lesson on. Also with so many runs, people tended to find something to match their skill level rather than beginners mixed in with tons of others they need to avoid while advanced folks rush past. I never felt like I was going to hit anyone or run them over. Really didn't notice the crowds until the lifts and there the staff did a good job of getting people loaded. I really enjoyed the very long runs that allowed me to get into a rhythm and try new things. The RFID system worked great and the rentals department got me out quickly in good equipment. Because they allow multi day rentals, Day 2 we parked at skyship, avoiding the crowds, took the gondola and came back on Great Eastern, an awesome run for my skill level!

I have only been skiing 5 years, but my husband is an expert and hadn't been to Killington in 25 years. He was blown away, it was better than he remembered and the two gondolas was a nice treat. We enjoyed going "all the way down" to the bottom, by a third parking area and seeing it as the locals did. I am horrible at skiing powder but by the second day enough was groomed that I could enjoy the majority of the mountain with the family.

Great mountain great conditions. Ski the Best you won’t regret it. I love to stay at the grand, great amenities and convenient slope access

By Serena C |

The resort is long and straggly but that you cannot do anything about. The runs are OK but some of the lifts are so old....they really need to invest here. It was very cold and snowing on two days plus wind so many of the runs were closed - not ideal but not their fault either. It caters for a younger market and that is reflected in the choice of hotels - most of them are cheap and some not even cheerful! Having come from Stowe, it was a let-down.

I went with my children. Killington has terrain for all ski abilities. Great choices of food. Plentey to do after your off the mountain

By Jessie E |

I went for a conference, room reservations were incorrect, the food was poor and staff unprepared and inflexible in accommodating a group of 100+. I would warn against having any sort of event at this venue.

Killington was what it's always been cracked up to be! Great skiing, great terrain and great location. Can't go wrong!

Killington Ski Resort is aptly named The Beast of the East. It has several mountains and numerous lifts and gondolas to service skiers. There are a lot of lodges to accommodate skiers and a food court with a variety of selections to choose from. The equipment staff were especially helpful. My husband had to rent equipment because his boots shattered on the first day. My aching knees prevented me from skiing so I stayed in the lodge and used my iPad for entertainment. I was quite comfortable waiting for my husband and daughter. They had a fantastic time!

We have been skiing at Killington for the past 8 years at least once a year, traveling with our two children (now ages 15 and 19).
Typically there is lots of snow and if not, they are making snow.
Many runs, plenty of snow bars on the slopes with afternoon entertainment.
The town/resort area has plenty of ski shops and many restaurants. Prices are “resort pricing”. Rutland is about 29 minutes away and you can grab groceries and alcohol at Tops at much better pricing.

Enjoyed 3 days of skiing! Weather was different all 3 days, but we loved every moment. Went from warm to cold to powder! Long Trail Pub at Snowshed was fun with great menu options and live music! Thumbs up all the way!

I spent many winters skiing here with friends in my single days. The mountain and nightlife was the best. While I’m no longer interested in the night life, the mountain remains spectacular. Skiing in early December is always a risk, but fresh snow and over 50 open trails Killington delivered. Now I’m visiting with my teenager and it’s great introducing him to this awesome mountain.

We had a large group that took the gondolas to the top, had lunch and drinks, and enjoyed the bar area and gorgeous view.
We ordered their famous bloody marys, flatbread, ahi tuna tacos and truffle fries. Everything was really delicious. The barmaid was overwhelmed but did pretty well with service. Great views once the clouds lifted.
Would love to go back again! Best prices are group prices or packages of 4. The Walk to the very top needs good sturdy shoes especially if the rocks are wet. We wanted to do it but did not have sturdy foot gear.

Killington is vast, but this review focuses mainly on one item that surprised and delighted me. I ordered the corned beef hash one morning in the Snowshed Base Lodge Cafeteria, expecting the canned stuff. What I received on my paper plate instead was a homemade and cheerful looking corned beef hash with loads of flavor.
After I inquired about this marvel, chef manager Ellen shared her secrets. The corned beef hash is new this season and served only at the Snowshed base. Different corned beef purveyors were tested before the winner was finally chosen. The corned beef is simmered all day at Killington and rested overnight to absorb the flavors of the proprietary spice blend. Then it is pulled by hand and cut into small shreds. Onions, carrots, golden beets, potatoes, and red peppers, with a little touch of fresh jalapeno are added.
The pride and work that goes into this corned beef hash has renewed my faith in humanity. Try the Beast Breakfast that features the hash with eggs, fried potatoes and English muffin for $11 or a side order of the corned beef hash for $5. Hash is a breakfast offering served until about 10:30 a.m.
P.S. don't miss the Bloody Marys at Killington. The Peak Lodge serves one with bacon strips and jumbo shrimp. Have your cocktail and your lunch in one glass, with a beautiful view. The Mahogany Ridge bar at the K1 base serves a prize-winning Bloody Mary sans the animal protein.

We went to Killington in the midst of a historic(for february) heat wave, and although many other ski resorts had very little terrain open, or were closed entirely, I was surprised to find that the mountain was still in good shape. While the skiing could've been a LOT better(most natural trails and glades were closed), Killington did their best to keep as much terrain open as possible. On one of the days we skiied, it was 72 degrees, but there were still 82 trails open. Admittedly, the conditions were not very beginner friendly, but just one day later the grooming team did a fabulous job with grooming the beginner areas! The staff were also extremely courteous and welcoming, both on the slopes and in the lodges. In short, Killington offers a consistent skiing experience, no matter the weather.

My son is 6, it was his first time snowboarding. He was in the mini stars program. They made everything so smooth especially with my son the shy one and the crier. Hosnforst coach was Sam who was amazing and got him standing up on a snowboard. The next guy was Charlie for 2 days, who knew exactly how to have fun with kids. Last 3 days was a young man named Mike. He made Liam so at ease with teaching toe side turn worhbliam not even noticing he was doing it. Such a nice and caring kid. He promised my son that he would take him on the lift with his parents. So pick liam up at 3. Mike's shift is over. He put liam on the lift with me and brought him down the whole mountain so i could see what he had learned. We were there until 4pm. He was amazing. I'm calling killington mtn to let them know how amazing this kid was.

This is a great mountain! Trails for all levels and a lot of lifts. Definitely buy tickets online in advance to save money!

By Kimberly Wilson |

This resort makes access to the slopes a breeze. If you need to rent you can pick up your gear on the level of the lobby and then head right out to the slopes!

The hotel also had an awesome pool, hot tub and sauna!

I purchased a gift card for my daughters birthday last year, she never used. She wanted to apply it to this years seasonal pass. The wording stated she needed the card itself to apply to her account. The card was sent to me last year but I snowbird and did not have. My daughter thought she was out the $200.00 gift card. When I called this morning Emma Driscoll took my call. I explained the situation and had my emails from last year. I'm serious when I say within 3 min. she had my daughters account up, applied the gift card to her account and asked if she could help any further.. I was ready for a battle. This time of the year I'm sure is busy there with bookings and sales. She took care of me in such a positive manner I had to write this. Kuddo's to your Reservation Team at Killington! You have a 5 star customer service leader here. Thank you Emma!

Can't believe I'm saying this but this place exceeded even my lofty expectations. Was lucky enough to be there in March, 3 days after Stella dumped 4 feet on the resort, and temps stayed in the low teens to mid/upper 30s range nearly every day/night - with periodic snow refills. Very little ice, relatively speaking. Every run was open. Four mountains to choose from and 1,500 acres of terrain - even after 3 days, didn't even ski half of this place. Very reasonable costs, teen lesson program, much terrain variety, and very fun.

Interesting note...when you get used to skiing at a difficult place like Whistler/Blackcomb, Vermont is sooooo easy. The blue runs at Kill are greens at WB, and some of the easy black runs at Kill are easy blues at WB. This is why its so fun; do a difficult place first, then come here...you will rock it!!!

Attended a wedding pondside. Beautiful location capturing the pond, mountains and fall leaves. Service at the resort was excellent - both at Preston’s and in the banquet hall where the reception took place. Bar tenders were quick to pour, dinner was served quickly and efficiently. They took notes on who wanted steak, fish or vegetarian and were able to plate the dinners without error. Food wasn’t the greatest, but it’s hit or miss at weddings when you cook for the masses. Made up for any deficiencies with the great service. Didn’t stay at the resort so I can’t comment on the rooms or other amenities.

Hey folks, time for bad news... Killington was working tirelessly to return to the top of the Eastern ski market, but has fallen behind the times when it comes to value in the ski industry. Outdated lodges, unreliable lift operations, poor season pass product offerings (they want you to sign an unbreakable contract), weather closures (who closes a ski resort for snowstorms?), reduced snowmaking operations, and business decisions being made by an inept, out-of-town parent company. Powdr, currently being touted as the joke of the North American ski industry, owns Killington. Killington is moving in the wrong direction; spend your vacation dollars elsewhere.

By SkierTravels11 |

Killington is doing a wonderful job with all the upgrades they have made over the last couple of years. Making a huge difference to the flow and quality to what is already the best terrain in the east.

While I mostly ski here, Id also like to mention the Total Archery Challenge event they hosted. Coolest event I've ever done. Hope they consider more archery in the summers.

By Christine M |

We had a great skiing day but they need more people or signs showing you where to go. Also, we bought discounted tickets a few days before we arrived but we had to change our day because they were expecting bad weather. They let us switch the day but charged us an extra $47 because they considered us not pre-purchasing. That wasn't very nice.

By Mariela R |

Loved this ski mountain! It has plenty of trails to please everyone. I’m a beginner skier and I normally get very nervous. I was very happy because I was able to ski the whole day and in different trails.
Also, I felt that the mountain was safe. While I was in the green trails my children were able to enjoy the rest of the mountain. They never got lost and they were very happy. Happy skiing!

What a colorful event! Excitement, Sport, International Competitors. It was a perfect way to spend Thanksgiving Weekend. It doesn't get more New England than this!

By CHRIS H |

Booked a ski/board and stay trip through Sno Search Ski & Snowboard Tours. With a 2 day lift pass costing $206 at the ticket window, it was nice to find this package deal of lodging and lift passes for $209 per person from Sno Search. Storm Stella complimented K-tons snowmaking efforts and conditions are fantastic.

Seems like a smaller resort but has lots to do during summer or winter. It was very quiet in the summer and provided some nice hiking trails.

By luggingkidsaroundtheworld |

This hill has the best set up for summer. We purchesed a day pass for the kids and sat back and relaxed at the bar while they experienced all the games and rides. The whole time I was able to watch and check where they were without having to follow them through lines etc. It is an amazing destination and I wish we could have spent more time on the hill

Relaxing and inviting. Highly recommend this spot . Mountain is well kept and the lots of scenic views

By Iamaspartan |

Awesome place for a spartan race super tough course! Awesome views that can be seen all over the place! Death march was tough and cool that it went under gondola! Would do again!!

By ajmd20 |

I am from Baltimore, MD and I love it up here. I make at least a spring break trip each year and love the price of the spring pass. I think it is fantastic that you can turn in your K50 tickets towards the cost of the spring pass. Some years the conditions are better than others and this year was superb. 3 feet of snow fell 3 days before my trip and the conditions were outstanding for mid march. 100% open and almost all the lists were spinning. I have been skiing here for over 10 years and yes, a ticket at the ticket window is pretty costly but there are ways to get the price down. Plan your trip in early October and there are plenty of deals.

By EdHaze |

Even when it is crowded you can find slopes with plenty of space to run free and easy. Very kid friendly, even though we did not have any with us. Everyone around was helpful, nice and friendly. Can't wait to go again.

By PLKsg1990 |

Season pass holder - love it. Mountain is good for all levels with great snowmaking and big enough that the crowds disperse quickly.

By johnniesama |

Great skiing. All trails were open. Killington is the beast in the East, for a reason! Insider tip....Get your tickets before coming (Costco ) and you will save a bundle! And if you haven’t skied in a while, take a lesson , you won’t regret it.

Saw the full blown glory of Autumn colours at Killington. Stayed at the Grand Resort and our room has a direct view of a lake and the hills, showing the nice hues of red, yellow and green.

Top notch rooms, breakfast, and skiing! Will be back next year. Staff, guests, and vendors were very friendly. Loved close walk to lifts.

Killington was the perfect location for our East Coast mountain top ski proposal. I worked with Caryn Casey-Hurka of the Killington Wedding and Social Events Team. She was extremely helpful and turned my fuzzy idea into an amazing reality. With her help I was able to plan an amazing post proposal reception at the Motor Room Bar.

What an amazing Spot! After she said yes we climbed the steps up into the Bar which was once the motor room of Killington's first modern chairlift. Thanks to Andy with the ski patrol for making sure everyone made it up the stairs in our ski boots.

When we made it inside all our friends were all waiting, but more importantly Rachel & Eric had created a Smorgasbord of dishes for everyone. We toasted with wine and spirits and I tried to taste everything but there proved to be too many options. Before I knew it Eric and Rachel went back to work butting together three delicious sandwiches and a hearty Tomato Bisque. Dessert was more of the same.

The Bar is open on Fridays & Saturdays during the season. The food is awesome and so is the view. I highly suggest getting 10 of your friends together and giving it a try before the season ends

Me and my friends had an absolute blast, the mountain and trails were phenomenal and all the staff was so friendly and helpful!

For starters I grew up on skis my whole life in colorado and I've been just about everywhere in the states. I heard that vermont was the closest thing i was gonna get to colorado so i decided to give this place a shot. I decided to switch to a snowboard so I did the the 4 day Burton LTR program. The instructor Jason was absolutely phenomenal and really helped out with my transition, easily one of the coolest people I've met on the slopes. He was very knowledgeable and was able to explain techniques with ease, he would either follow behind me and watchd what I did and give advice or we would play follow the leader and I would try to mimic what he did. Towards the end he didn't even need to say anything because if I messed up i was already aware of what happened, why it happened and how I could fix it. 10/10 would recommend this place to anybody and will definitely return here anytime I find myself on the east coast.

By 470carold |

Although a couple of days during our ski trip saw the Killington Cloud fog in the top of the mountain, this is still a great place to ski. Construction is happening at the K1 lift, so plan to be dropped off or park at another lot. This mountain is best for intermediate to advanced skiers. Not a lot of green trails, so maybe head to Pico Mountain for that. Lunch is expensive, so bring it if you can. The bag check is super convenient and the staff there were great!

By PAski88 |

Killington is a great place for skiing and eating. It also has some great bars with live music Thur-Sat nights. Friday and Saturdays get pretty crowded, especially if the snow is great. It's a little difficult finding your way around on the hill so if your not familiar with the slopes get a trail map and look it over before you go. If you have young kids Ramshead is probably the beat place to start. Ifyou know what you are doing Outerlimits will def test your skills.

By nfreeman2 |

For the cost, I felt this place was over priced. Extremely expensive restaurant. Hill was ok. A bit straight up and down. Not much variation Line ups for the K1 Gondola and Canyon Quad were insane. If i'm honest I was a little disappointed. I wont be rushing back.

By Meghan S |

There were a lot of trails open despite the rain that fell all day the day before we arrived. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent.

By glennrr |

Killington is a great ski / snowboard mountain. The biggest in the east it offers a wide terrain of epic riding. Bounce between the 5 peaks and ride many trails all day. Nice staff and an all around great place to visit and have fun!

By nickss1 |

We popped by while on road trip. We sadly didn’t have time to ski here. However, several runs and lifts were already open when we drove up on November 12th. I would love to return

Was volunteering at Special Olympics this year, and stayed at the Killington Grand Hotel while working.
Great room with no issues during my stay.

By Adam |

It is only dec 1 and yet most of killington is open. 62 inches of snow, trails nicely groomed, new rfid system worked well. Gave up around 3pm because I was exhausted from all the runs 😀

By Alex “Killington Sucks” Winga |

Josh from Texas you ruined my experience and put the worst taste in my mouth after an amazing 15 years with killington. I will return…. But once I get assistance edidotng an address on a prior account I made when I was 12…. You offered no help other than belittling myself along with the rest of the line. You even said “this is so easy a 70 year old can do it!” Real nice… considering there were plenty of elders in line. Cheers man. White trash. Killington invest in real humans, not outsiders who ride tractors and shot guns.

By Srikanth B |

Best part
Beats many skiing places by yards. Very good and had lots of fun.
Great staff. My wife was learning skiing , the instructors were incredibly helpful, when she could not do due to a tight boots, she was offered same classes the next day for free and the instructor was incredibly helpful.

Difficult part of experience
I had a 2 year old and 7 year old. Though my son can handle green slopes, my daughter is just introduced to skiing.. I wanted them to try the bunny slope with magic carpet on snowshed side. I was told 2 year old shoes are available only in Ramshed. Its a walk cos I need to take my little one under the tunnel to Ramshed. After we got the shoes , uphill walk towards magic carpet with 2 year old is a very difficult one. I was at other skiing destinations where it was a breeze. My son too was exhausted and complained about the same thing.
Few things that can change
1. 2- 5 year old shoes should be available at both Ram shed and snow shed
2. Magic carpet should be extended further down or it should be easily accessible .

By summerknights |

Top notch service, amenities, terrain, lift service. The resort is very well laid out. It is very convenient to get to and get around.

By Bruce I |

Sunday April 14, dangerous. The temperature the day before was 63. Yes they have a base, but the snow was so wet and heavy it was dangerous. We love Killington and will be back, but never again past week 2 of March.

By Esti |

The lift staff were great and the instructors for kids excellent. We took 2 days of private snowboard lessons for the kids; the snowshed slope area was perfect for them.

The resort is really no frills, very basic, gondolas are not well sealed and most of the chair lifts don't have bubbles, which is really odd considering how cold and windy it gets.

We ski'd for 2 days while it snowed which had poor visibility but excellent powdery pistes. The 3rd day was magnificent and sunny with beautiful views but absolutely freezing. The slopes were icey and not as enjoyable, do not recommend if you are used to skiing in Europe or our West.

The cafeterias are very basic, and only a couple of restaurants were open in town. We went out one night to liquid art which had nice coffee and drinks and a yummy cheese board.

All in all we had a great time as a family but will not be back. Next time if skiing in Vermont I'd rather go to Stowe.

By Royce M |

This was an absolute great first time experience in skiing. The "learn how to ski" instructors were extremely friendly and helpful and after three mornings were able to take to the slopes with confidence. Truly amazing an experience and would recommend Killington resort to everyone.

By Francedgb |

Great surface, amazing grooming! Firat time here and they know how to greet people- green jackets everywhere waiting to help out. Lots of runs closed - but that is Mother Nature! Will come back

By BlueHero |

We have been to ski at Killlington for many times. Its pros and cons are very obvious.

Pros:
1) A great variety of trails
2) probably the best selection of mogul trails in Northeast
3) many express lifts
4) the newly added bubble 6-person lift is very warm and comfortable to ride

Cons:
1) Almost always very crowded
2) it's getting more and more expensive
3) very likely some unskillful but careless kids might come from nowhere to hit you. the risk factor to ski at Killington is particularly high, so focus and attention is needed at all time.
4) it needs some good luck to find a spot at lodge for lunch during holiday season or most weekends

By edervalle514 |

We choose Vermont Ski Resort as our ski trip destination and it was just perfect. The parks is perfect for all levels and the staff is very helpfull. We like the multiple lodges the park offers. In overall our trip was a success and definitely going back next year.

By Taeo |

Resort does a horrible job with transparency about trails open or closed. Black Magic, arguably their most premier trail takes them month to open. Additionally website does not specify if "upper" or "middle" or "lower" is currently open or closed, instead they say is open even when parts are closed. Even more frustrating is when you call and ask about this point blank, they lie and say it is open. Total let down and wasted time and money.

By Sarah C |

Yes this is a large mountain with decent terrain and great coverage for late March for sure, however, the customer service we experienced was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. We've skied in a lot of places, some big and some small but for the most part the employees have been friendly and focused on the guest's experience but I cannot say the same for this mountain.

The first interaction we had at the ticket counter was okay. The gentleman printed our tickets but wasn't exactly enthusiastic or informative compared to other ticket folks I've dealt with. The woman working the ticket station next to us was abrupt and all business which I might be able to understand if the place was slammed. That being said, there were three people in line (including us) and only two folks working the counter but it wasn't like there was a swarm of people. It just doesn't take any extra time to be nice to guests...it just doesn't.

Our second interaction came while getting our lunch at the Snowshed Lodge. There were a TON of Snow School Employees getting their lunch (not their students' lunch but their own) who cut in line ahead of several full paying guests. One of the women making salads stopped making my wife's salad when a Snow School employee stepped in front of her in the line and went to make the employees salad. When the woman finally came back to making my wife's lunch she said, "what did you order again?" Appalling...serving your staff over paying guests on the mountain?!?!?!? I can't even begin to imagine what this place must treat guests like when it's a busy day during a vacation week. And it didn't end there with our lunch woes. While waiting in line to pay for our food another snow school employee attempted to cut in front of me to hand in his little slip of paper with all the food listed on it. I let him know that we were in line and he could just cool his jets and wait his turn. Unbelievable!

Lastly, while waiting in line for one of the Gondolas a lift employee stepped into a gondola with several people he knew. As the gondola went passed us he smugly looked at us and said, "this one is occupied." Again, I couldn't believe how rude yet another employee was.

I know you go to a ski mountain to ski and ride but it's a lot of money to pay and customer service should be included at no extra charge. The staff could benefit from some customer service training. Personally, I won't pay to ski here again.

My wife and i would never had adventured off on the intimidating slopes if it weren’t for the Killington (free) tour guide. We had the pleasure to have had Bobby Giordano as our guide. He gave us so much information and took the time to have us take pictures of this beautiful mountains

By Robert F |

Killington resort offers the best skiing in the east. It offers everything for everyone from greens to double black diamonds, to terrain parks and the glades. Perfect resort for hard core skiers and snowboarders.

By Richard H |

There is a reason it is so huge an area. Tons of people, lots of trails, but over crowded for my liking. Are much better ski area to hit up if you want to SKI!

By WParadies |

Despite the lack of snow this early in Dec 2017, the Killington snowguns and their operators did an amazing job providing our Camp with 5 quality days of skiing. Instructors were top-notch and there were no crowds, so had a productive week on the mountain.

By wardan380 |

the new RIFD system is very temperamental and found the staff at one of the gates were one of our cards was playing up and very rude, even questing the card as it did not have a name on it. same as i think the the staff that issues it should put this information on if it is required. at times it seems as thought some information is not being past on

By UGoOli |

This was our first time traveling to Killington and to the state of Vermont. What an incredible resort this place is. We came at what was supposed to be the end of the season but the conditions were fantastic since the east has been getting snow all winter. There were no crowds on the slopes, plenty of seats in the lodge, quick rentals. It was a great experience.

My 6 year old tried skiing for the first time as well. He loved the magic carpet. We don't have that here in Southern CA. My 3 year old wanted to try too and the gentlemen helping us out didn't even charge us for his rental. He probably knew my little one wasn't going to use it much. He was right.

The store as of the other week had everything on sale for 40% off so we took advantage of that too.

Our road trip from New Jersey was well worth it!

By Francois B |

Wow first time at killington and we'll be back! Huge resort with a lot of trail for all the family. They worked a lot and made artificial snow every day!

By Yetanotherroadtrip |

We wasted an hours drive down from Stowe on a Monday to find the lift was closed. There was no indication on the web site so I suggest you call in advance. Somewhat pricy, $30 plus tax per person round trip, but it does include a $5/ticket food voucher at the great lounge atop the mountain. It was overcast when we went up, limited view, but watching the clouds go quickly by in real time as in a sped up sequence was big plus, as was escaping the oppressive heat and humidity at the base. Don’t necessarily believe what they say at the ticket desk regarding visibility either. Still a good experience and I highly suggest that you book a day in advance on the web to save the $5/head.

By Vacation632663 |

Great place for adults, teens and little kids. A little pricey ($70 for all day pass), but we had a great time. Mountain Coaster, zip line, giant maze, elevated ropes/agility course. The elevated course was very cool. 3 layers, so good for all ages. Steps, blocks, "high wires"' of all sorts. Good for small or large groups. Looked like the mountain biking was a big hit. Some serious jumps and turns. Looked like those people were having a ton of fun. Highly recommend the day pass if you have 3 hours or more.

By mimi068 |

My kids snowboarded while my friend and I went snowmobiling. I bought the lift tickets at Costco ahead of time for a significant price difference!! My friend decided to ski one day and a daily lift ticket cost her $115 whereas I paid Costco $77 a day (adult ticket) only drawback was that Costco sells them in packs of three (you get 3 daily-any day no blackout tickets for the season) it worked out fine for me because that was the exact amount I needed. They had a wonderful time. The staff at Killington couldn't be more helpful. The shuttle busses, lifts and store are all a pleasure to deal with. So accommodating. We stayed in a condo so only ate out once. That was a Jax's and it was great. Not over priced and the food was good. The snowmobiling we did with Snowmobile Vermont in Plymouth...Highly recommend them!!

By Skibum1w |

Best in the East more trails than you can ski in a week and they have big terrain parks plenty of parking and the access road is the best apres ski scene in the east

By Nattysimps |

Great resort with amazing skiing. The trails are well groomed, the lifts are quick and rentals went well. We will be back.

By Ashattack2015 |

Had an incredible four days with great conditions. Love the fast lifts and the long trails. I hadn't gone out in over 10 years and finally mustered the courage to do some black diamonds. They were fast and fun and I'm mad it took me two full days to try! This would be a great place to learn to board/ski or for people like me who are getting back into it.

Big mountain, they make a lot of snow, there are three peaks so there are a lot of trails (see cons on this one) the lifts are everywhere, and most important, the people that work at this resort are incredible. The main reason for the 4 stars.

CONs
No central village, poorly designed, way findings on trails are an afterthought. Because there are three peaks, you better have a plan. Easy to wind up at the wrong side of a peak and have to work to get back on the right side. We are intermediate skiers and have been to resorts everywhere (east & west) and have never had the problem of poling half the day. This is a confusing mountain.

We were told they had recently been purchased by a larger entity. Hopefully, they can upgrade some of these issues. The locals that we expressed our concerns to didn't like what we were saying by responding " you just need to learn the mountain ". Finally, after a week of frustration, we sort of, learned the mountain. My point...It shouldn't take a week from avid skiers.

One of my favorite spots for skiing in northeast . This area offers something for everyone from beginner level terrain to advanced , great night life, restaurants, I love the bus system that this mountain offers ... where you don't even need to use your car to move around once you get there, just very convenient.

I have been skiing in the east since I was 3 years old, and Killington was a standard go-to ski hill for the family when I was growing up. 37 years later, I am teaching my wife to ski from scratch. This review addresses the Killington ski school, rather than the mountain itself.

My wife has now skied a grand total of 5 days in her life, the first time and 5th time were both at Stowe and the middle three times were at Killington. She signed up for a 3 day beginner learn to ski package at the ski school (Snowshed area). I dropped by a few times to eavesdrop on her lessons and the instructors were EXCELLENT. The classes were broken into small groups of about 3 people per instructor so they got plenty of attention individually.

Long story short, in her 5 days of skiing she has progressed unbelievably. She is already skiing black diamonds with confidence and control with short radius linked turns (complete with pole plants!) and looks like she has been skiing for years. The instructors really honed in on getting the imperative mechanics established so that everything else has already been falling into place. She is solidly an intermediate skier after just 5 days. This probably reads like some infomercial testimonial but I really do believe a lot of her accelerated learning track is a result of the top notch instruction.

Furthermore, the rate for the 3 day school was very palatable and included lift tickets, ski and boot rentals, and 50% off discounts on lift tickets for the rest of the season! Outstanding deal, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone seeking to learn how to ski quickly.

I’ve done a lot of Rocky Mountain skulking and typically find east coast skiing to be a little boring but this place is great. A little something for everyone! The overall resort is sprawling but generally easy to get around. If you are in Vermont, this is the place to come.

By Sean F |

Worst ski week of my lift. Actually dangerous with the amount of skiers they allowed on the mountain. Much better opinions relatively close.

By Dave F |

I know that the east coast had more ice than snow but Killington could have groomed more and manage the ice. I encountered a sheet of ice connector trail and had no control. Crashed and suffered a concussion. They should Maintain the heavily traveled sections. I guess it’s late in the season and they are ramping down

We were in Lake George and decided to come here for the gondola mountain ride. We pre-purchased tickets for the exact day we would be there. We drove all the way there and when we got there they said there was a wedding and the ride was shut down for the night. I wish the website would have known that!! We had to drive down to the main area to get a refund from a rude worker who couldn't care a less that we wasted almost 3 hours of our time just to be turned away! If you decide to go make sure you call first!!

I’ve been coming to Killington for 20 years. I learned how to ski here, and repeatedly drive up from CT to ski here. It has something for everyone - I enjoy how they break up the mountain so advanced skiers are placed differently than beginners. In previous years, they combined crossover trails that are black diamond and green circles, causing some high speed collisions. The top of killington peak is definitely all for advanced riders now - allowing for the peak lodge to be perfect for those looking to relax away from children!

Great experience during covid. Excellent protocols. We stuck to weekdays and had short (if any) waits for lifts. Killington has built its reputation on elevation and size, but snowmaking and grooming are also excellent.

By tywo |

The gondola ride up and down the mountain was terrific. The staff were very helpful - especially kind in giving the discount to 3 seniors who couldn't reserve in advance due a storm knocking out cell and wifi service at our b&b. The lunch at the top was surprisingly good. The hike up to the very top was too rocky for most of us but the views on a clear day from the lodge level were still unparalleled.

For skiiers intermediate level and above, this is a great place to ski after a snowfall like on New Year's Eve 2019. Varied terrain with beautiful views. Several lodges with free bus shuttles, free check in for one bag, clean bathrooms, and free water refill stations. Waffles were delicious and non skiiers can get to the waffle cabins. They had free Ben and Jerry's ice cream event which was greatly appreciated. Grooming could have been better. They did make snow but it created moguls which were difficult to ski there since there were several in a row. Many people fell because their skis would get caught. They should have smoothed the areas out where they were making snow more. Jan 28 and 29 were icy before the snowfall on Jan 30.

By Nicole B |

love that some of the lifts have a wind screen to pull down when you need it. the trails were well groomed. lots of parking and a fast shuttle service from parking lots to the lodges (to the lifts).

If you have different feet or difficult size and you want to know what’s best for you, visit the boot lab for custom fitting and ask for Chris, he’s a wizard in foot analysis and fitting while skiing

Went to Killington yesterday, January 3,2019
Had to wait a hour to purchase a lift ticket
Finally got one, simple purchase using cash
Half the mountain was closed, but they still charged full price
Cup of chili was 10 dollars
Conditions were terrible,icy
Will not go back, Gore is twice as good and half the price
Ticket lines are 5 minutes, not 60 minutes

Its the biggest, yes. Its the staff that makes it exceptional. Everything works, and when it doesnt, they know what to do, and take care of you . FABULOUS

By timemarches |

Killington Ski Resort has undergone many ownership changes in its history. One thing which has not changed is the underlying personality of the mountain itself. It is the biggest resort in the east; offering every level of skiing. Grooming has always been a top priority and you would be hard pressed to find a better cared for ski facility - from the copious amounts of snow made when necessary to preserving whatever Mother Nature lays down, the goal is safe, skiable terrain.
The staff in every division has taken on new life lately, in my experience. Friendly and helpful.
Activities beyond the ski trails have been added to enhance the offerings for non-skiers and after hours fun: a single person roller coaster winds through the woods (even in winter) and a tubing park on the golf driving range offers more thrills and excitement.
Of course, the Green Mountains offer lush scenery in summer and Killington has challenging golf course and tennis facilities where pro lessons/clinics are available. Every season brings the opportunity for outdoor activity.

Lift tickets are expensive all over, so why not go where you can be sure to get the most bang for your buck?

We skied Killington mid-week in late March. The slopes were almost empty. We were able to get parking very close to the gondola, I think in the third row back. The snow conditions were spring skiing - meaning that there was hard pack that became softer as the day became warmer. We got in a lot of skiing and were able to complete 19 runs between 9:30 and 3:30 totaling almost 28000 vertical feet with a nice stop for lunch. One small issue was that several of the black slopes were not open, which meant that we ended up skiing a bunch of blue slopes. I was actually surprised at the limited number of black runs at Killington as compared to Stratton, for example. The food was normally priced for a ski resort, however, they wouldn't give us an "IKON pass discount" as they claimed that the registers were "not set up for that yet". I would say that the "Beast of the East" was fairly tame this day, especially with outer limits being closed. Personally, I liked Stratton better. Killington claims they will be open through most of April so there is still time to visit. They were selling an "end of season" pass for $219 which seemed like a good deal if you were planning to ski more than a day or two.

I’ve seen good and bad over many years. This past x-mas week very poor, especially the gondola crew.

This place has the best skiing, riding, service, music, professional athletes, and regular folks on the planet. This is the place to go for a great time!

By Jonathan S |

This was the first time to Killington for my son and myself. It is a partner resort for Mountain Creek in NJ, so discounted lift tickets. The resort is well taken care of. Like many ski resorts, the food cost is high. The lodges all have large seating areas and plenty of cubbies for gear storage during the day. We have our own equipment, so cant comment on the rental outfit. The lifts were, for the most part, running, although there had been heavy rain the 2 days prior and then freezing cold, so conditions the first day were not ideal. We made the best of it, and the groomers had done a great job, so not terrible.

By Christine B |

Killington has a large variety of hills and terrains that you would need a couple of days at least to do all the mountain. The lodges provide storage for bags, there are cafeterias on site, but after skiing is done, they do not have any outdoor fires or areas to gather that fit into the skiing experience afterwards.
BAD- Parking for the disabled was very difficult, the spots at the main K1 lodge nothing was plowed out and they allowed people to create their own row of parking directly behind the handicap spots so you were not able to get in and out. Limited spots at Snowshed lot therefore requiring us to park at the Ramsden lot which made it difficult to get to the main lifts and the cafeteria was closed at that base.

This is heaven on earth, in my book. It is my favorite mountain that I have skied to date. Though I have not skied out west and hear that blows this away. But compared to anything else in the east, I love it. We live 5 hours away and come at least 3 times a season because it's worth the drive.

The diverse terrain makes it a great fit for all levels. You can ski greens, blues and blacks all day. There are glades as well.

There are 5 peaks and you could ski new trails all day, but I tend to find that I am drawn to the same peaks and trails. Some of that comes down to the volume of people. I tend to find the line for Skyeship gondola to be much shorter than K1 but at the same time, they all move quickly. The view from the top of Killington Peak is gorgeous. Plus the new lodge up there is nice but small. If you go at lunch time, it is packed AND the line for the ladies room is crazy! It's a brand new lodge and they only have 4 ladies stalls. I don't know what they were thinking with that one!

If you do plan to ski over near Ramshead and Snowshed lodges, go earlier in the day as the lightning on the trails is better based on how the sun goes through the sky.
If you have not gone here, go! If you want a long cruiser, you can take Great Eastern all the way down to lower skyeship, so it makes for a long easy run.

The beast of the east. Something for everyone. Just be careful where you end up, you may be pushing/ walking for a while.

By Chad H |

It takes between 10-15 minutes to get all the way to the top of Mount Killington and is a little pricey, but WELL worth it! There are a few hiking and biking trails you can pick up at the top. For some reason when we were there in late July, the flies were atrocious! Don't let those pesky things ruin your day, though. The views from atop are breathtaking!

By jindalee13 |

Took the gondola to the summit. Unfortunately cloud covered so no views until return trip half way back. Imagine on a clear would magnificent.

My experience with volunteering at the FIS Women's World Cup was truly World Class. It was amazing to see how the logistics and effort to coordinate so many people both paid and volunteer come together. The folks at Killington understand what it takes to show the World how to put on an Event. The folks of Vermont have a lot to be proud of. People around the planet where treated to an amazing couple days of racing. Thank you Killington.

We’ve been coming to Killington for close to 20 years and have witnessed the changes over time. We think the skiing is great and Killington maintains the trails well. Having said that, the new buildings are atrocious- terrible program. Even worse are the food and prices! I had a basic salad, lettuce, tomato, carrots, onion. This small, plain salad was $24!!! Over the years the food choices have going down hill and my favorites no longer available. Twenty dollars for a wimpy salad equivalent to what I would be served in a restaurant with my meal is beyond insulting! I’m going old school - bring my lunch. Don’t purchase food here. As for the architecture that I am obviously paying for, the architects should have paid Killington to allow them the practice, the obviously needed it. You need your coat to use the facilities at the peak. They are at the entrance vestibule so you get the cold from the doors opening. At K-1 the water fountain is at the hall to the restrooms so people waiting to get water block the entrance to the bathrooms.

Beautiful resort at the base of Killington Mountain. The rooms are recently updated and spacious. The pool and hot tubs are fabulous. We had a great trip and highly recommend a stay here with family or just adults.

By Henry B |

Killington takes some learning to find where you like the slopes best... it’s a huge area. We’ve had some of our best ski days here! There are a lot of tough pitches on parts of the mountain but they mark them off well. We’re spoiled by our home Maine ski areas where the crowds aren’t as bad as Killington can get, but if you can do weekdays and it’s snowed recently , you have to ski here!

By Lolly’s Look |

The Killington Resort is a skiers delight with slope side ski in and out service. But it’s also a beautiful place to be year round with golf and leaf peeping.

By Vic H |

Always bave a great time but weekend was great snowed all day Saturday and 20 inch before we got here. Great condition on the mountain. Highly recommend the resort.

By Hanlon28 |

If you haven't skied Killington, you need to go. It has terrain for all abilities. The food choices both on and off mountain are great. I would like to not tell anyone about Killington to have it all to myself, but that wouldn't be fair. The improvements this year (new Gondolas, new terrain and ways to alleviate crowds on the slopes) have just made the resort even better! And the fact that it is open from October to June is great!

My husband and I took a last-minute trip to VT this past-weekend. We decided to ski MRG on Saturday, as we have done many times before, and to make our first trip to Killington on Sunday. We typically ski in Northern Vermont, but decided we’d switch it up a bit. We had buy-one-get-one tickets from Warren Miller that we were hoping to use. We stayed overnight about and hour and a half away from the resort, so we got to Killington on the late side-but we figured we had half-price tickets so it wasn’t too big of a deal. By the time we made it to the K1 base lodge and got our gear on (another thing we never do before we have our tickets, but it was an off day) we finally made our way to lift tickets area with our vouchers. We were informed that they couldn’t be honored. In our haste to make it up to VT after a crazy week, we missed the fine print. Apparently, the deal is only good one week in 2018 and the last week of Spring in 2019. The lift tickets would have been $129 each with fees. Our bad, for certain, but we were hoping there was something that could be done as we couldn’t justify spending $260 for 2 lift tickets at 11am. There wasn’t, according to the ticketing agent. He offered zero suggestions or help. We were so disappointed. My husband said we should just leave, but I decided to go talk to someone in guest services (which was chaos, by the way.) I politely explained that this was our first trip to Killington and we had made our way there, after getting a very late start, asking if she could help at all. The agent (who was doing her best even though she was clearly overworked and overstressed with too many people needing help and only one of two people available to help them all) there also informed me that there was nothing she could do. When I noted that it was 11am and asked again whether there were discounts on midday tickets or anything at all she could do, she said she couldn’t help. She suggested that should look online for ticket but she didn’t know if the prices would be discounted much. Mid-day tickets purchased at the resort are only 10% off too! This was extremely disappointing to hear. So we left. The resort could have, at the very least, received half of the ticket price from us but instead they got nothing. More importantly, we both left feeling like they could have cared less whether we were happy, and whether we stayed or left. Needless to say, our first experience at the resort was not the best one. We probably won’t go out of our way to go back either. I realize that any person could come in off the street and make the claims that we made, but we didn’t lie about our situation, and we were hoping that we could be accommodated, at least in some small way. This was a big time customer service fail in my book.

Great place for a family ski vacation! Snow making is excellent, skiing for all levels and friendly staff.

By C S |

Beautiful views! You dont have to be in to hiking, biking, or skiing to enjoy this place, beautiful views just driving around. It is a great to stay centally located so you can drive around and enjoy the state. So much to do in the area if you want to just stay around Killington. Some of the best hiking trails in New England are in this area in my opinion.

I’ve been learning to ski at Killington and after just two lessons I’m feeling confident in my new abilities.

The instructors are friendly, fun and give great advice for improving your technique. I wasn’t expecting such a personalised service in a group class.

My instructor Bob was great. I had trouble and fell off the ski lift the first time but he worked with me to help me learn how to use them properly and safely.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. I’ve had such a great time, I haven’t stopped smiling!

My wife, three kids (12, 11, & 10) were fortunate enough to enjoy a nice snow base and several snow storms while on our five day visit! The kids favorite run was the Great Eastern. It winds down the mountain to the bottom stage go the two-stage Gondola and offers some easy/ moderate terrain with some nice woods to cut into. It is probably one of the longest runs Killington has to offer. This mountain is HUGE... very wide, sprawling terrain. There are numerous Quad Express chairs and two Gondolas. We never felt as though the mountain was overly busy and the the line waits were minimal. I would definitely recommend experiencing this mountain... its worth the challenge!! Tame the BEAST!!

This was our first trip to Killington from Baltimore. It was very cold and simetime it was -14F. It was too cold for Ski and Snowboard. We took 3 days lessons. We had great experience with Ski and Snow board instructors. They were very friendly and very helpful.

Best mountain in VT. Large, tons of slopes for all abilities. Lift lines are short because there are so many! Snow cover was good, grounds crew was even better. Obviously working hard with all the crazy temp changes.

I just came back from skiing here for the weekend. Incredible conditions, especially for April. Conditions would have been respectable even for mid-winter. They have an excellent grooming team. They do their best to keep as much of the mountain open as possible.

You have 6 mountains to choose from, so it is hard to get bored. Difficulty ranges from the Snowshed slopes (learning area) to slopes like Cascade, Double Dipper, and Outer Limits (double black). The groomers mix the texturing so that some of the advanced slopes have moguls and some are just really steep, which helps keep everyone happy.

Runs are also very long. You can ski up to 4 miles before having to board a lift, and that's not including Juggernaut trail. Lift service is excellent. The resort has two gondolas and many of the chairlifts are high speed lifts. Wait times are usually only a few minutes even at peak times.

One thing that is really impressive about Killington is their signage. Even though they have 5 base lodges separated by several miles it is hard to get lost. They have signs at every intersection. The green jacket ski ambassadors are also plentiful and very helpful.

Skier services (restaurants, shops, buses) all appear to be excellent. The Peak Restaurant is really nice but fancier and more expensive. If you are on a budget, stick to Snowshed or Rams Head lodges for food.

Rams Head is also the family ski area and has great easier intermediate and beginner terrain. It also has starter terrain parks and tree skiing. More advanced terrain parks and half pipes are available at Bear Mountain.

You should review the website ahead of time for the various lift ticket prices and offers. In many cases you can take advantage of the discounts and not pay full price for a ticket. My favorite is the Beast Pass, where you pay $100 but then get all tickets for 3/4 price on weekends and holidays and half price on weekdays. You can also go straight to the lift without having to buy anything, plus you have most of the other season ticket benefits such as store and food discounts.

By aly0000 |

For some reason the ski lift I bought in advance was issued on the wrong day. I went to guest services and they promptly corrected it to the right day. Kudos for the quick correction. Good place to ski and board as there isn't too much congestion on the slopes. K1 can be slow at times but the mountain is big enough to jump on another lift.

By Simon H |

To be honest I think we were just lucky when we went to Killington for the first time this year and had powder every day.
Its a good resort but I think without the snow could be a bit limited compared to out West and the Alps
Even so we enjoyed ourselves and there is a lot of choice of restaurants and bars along the road

By Steve T |

These guys can do some amazing things with snowmaking even after it rains early season in December. In short, its probably the best chance for good skiing on the east coast early and late and in between. Large selection of terrain and they work hard to keep it all open!

The Motor Room Bar is at the top of the Devils Fiddle Trail at Bear Mountain. The lift has been removed but they saved the motor room at the top of the lift and turned it into a bar for groups of ten by reservation only. We live here in town and went with friends this evening. The trip includes a host for the trip up as well as a chef and bartender who await your arrival. You have to be at Snowshed promptly by 5:00 PM for a snowcat ride up. Once there, you climb the stairs to the motor room to find a beautiful spread of hors d'oeuvres including cheeses, meats, fondue and more. In addition to the cold hors d'oeuvres that greet you, the chef prepares several hot hors d'oeuvres and a dessert. In our case, we had bacon wrapped scallops, steak bits and skewered potatoes, bison chili and maple creme brûlée for dessert. Everything was delicious and the chef and host make the evening even better. The whole event takes several hours, including the trip to and from Snowshed. Program says light hors d'oeuvres but what they don't tell you is how much food is actually served. It's all light but so plentiful that dinner after is unnecessary, to say the least.

The only problem tonight was the cold. We are in a cold snap right now with overnight temps well below zero and it was close to zero and below for our trip up. The snowcat is barely heated and the motor room bar was heated but still quite cool. Dress appropriately, and then some! Otherwise, this is a great way to spend a few hours in an unforgettable setting with great food. Try to make reservations well in advance or get your own group of ten together for a private evening.

I had bought 2 Tickets to Killington last year and was unable to come because they closed the Mountain down from Covid. I didn't panic because I assumed and read online that they would honor them the next year. So 2021 is here and I call them just to verify before driving up there and they tell me because of the type of ticket I purchased it is not transferrable to this year. I said that was unacceptable and asked to speak to a manager, she said she had just asked the manager and that is what she said. How greedy , hope the 300 you guys scammed from me is worth it because you lost a customer for life and I'm fairly young so that's gonna cost you guys alot more than you saved by ripping me off. Do the Right thing by us and honor all Tickets, this is unfair! It's not costing you guys any extra money, the lifts are running anyways? I'd be happy even with midweek ticket but this is not how we should be treated! hardshiphelperatgmaildotcom

The ski resort is very well managed and maintained. Trails are groomed every day and if needed snowmaking as well.
There was not almost any snow in the village, but the mountain was well maintained by snow making. Excellent work by the resort keeping the best ski conditions possible. Great job. Definitely will return. The resort has 5 mountains interconnected by ski trails and lifts so you can ski them all and still return to your original parking lot or to your point of start.

By Ken Q |

Any day on skis is a good day but I was disappointed with a recent day at Killington. I've skied in CO primarily so skiing at Killington was not the same. Slushy or icy on the same run. Skiers crashing frequently because they are out of control. Not much fun.

By twentythree70 |

Lots of great skiing, well-run rentals area, plenty of places to eat. Compact enough to get around with ease, but extensive enough to provide interest for a full week or more. Some great places to eat in the evening, particularly Hops on the Hill, and Domenics. Found the local people to be friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Our two teenage boys loved it and we had loads of fun. Would definitely return.

By Philip J J |

Spent four days @ Killington and had a great time. Friendly staff; easy pass/rental pick-up (booked ahead online); plenty of terrain; and ski school is well run with very engaged instructors. One Pass rfid access system is super convenient and seems to help keep the lift lines moving. We had an excellent time and the free portrait on the peak on our last day was an added bonus!

By badbcatha |

The sheer size of this (I know everyone already knows this) makes the trip a must-do in itself. My son loved being able to scout a new route on the map for every single run. We tried to cover as much area as we could, and with fairly short (sometimes nonexistent) lift lines, we were able to see a lot in one day. We had decided to visit Killington when we did because most other mountains had very little snow and thus a small amount of trails open, we were not disappointed by the snowmaking ability here. There were very few runs closed and we were kept busy on trails we enjoyed all day. The rental process was quick and easy, and the parking was so close (we were at K-1) at the end of a long day.

By Livetotravel002 |

Nice trails, many lifts, and beautiful views. There was abundant snow in mid March but it did get a little warm. Most trails for intermediate skiers with few greens. Friendly staff, but the main lodge is still in construction. Exceptionally good food for a ski resort at most of the ski lodges. This resort is a little small so it can ge crowded quick.
Downside, it lacks a well developed base. There are no shops or restaurants at the bases, so if you are not skiing there is not much to do. The restaurants outside the ski base are great. You can easily ski the whole area in 2 days.

By EliizabethWS |

While it was very icy when we visited, we had such a great time trying out the vast assortment of trails they had to offer. Having just gotten into skiing I was glad they had slopes I could ease into before trying the more difficult slopes. In addition to great slopes, they had a lot of food options available for guests and while it can be pricy, the quality makes it worth it.

By georgieb72 |

I skied two days during the week and found no lift lines and lots of nice terrain. Even though the place is huge I eventually found my favorite trails and enjoyed them all day the first day. The next day was effected by the warming weather and the snow turned to slop, but that was not the fault of the mountain. You take your chances in late march.

By Krissyalx |

Killington isn’t just for skiing. The fall colors will not disappoint! Take the K1 gondola up to the top and walk around the trails to reach the tippy top. The views are amazing.

By jlh |

It's a big mountain with many options! it can be overwhelming to navigate but they provide help. They have mountain ambassadors that can give you a free tour in the morning hours and/or give you help with directions. they also have shuttles service that can take you to each base lodge.

By RoyLScam |

There is a reason that Killington is known as the Beast of the East. It's hard to find another resort with such varied terrain and so close to NYC. While crowds can be an issue, Killington did a lot of redesign in the off season to help mitigate the volume issues they have.

By mikeyanderson2 |

A very Awesome mountain. It was the best conditions I have skied in a very long time. The people who work the resort we're so friendly. I definitely want to come back next year to ski!😊

By levinwest |

By far the best place I've ever skiied as I grew up in the Midwest. Tons of runs, lots of lifts and two gondola lifts as well to keep you out of the weather on the way up. Enough runs that anyone can find what they need and want from beginner to advanced. Extremely nice staff in every single interaction from tickets to food, to shops. A great time! Buy lift tickets online too to save significantly!

By artym2018 |

Killington may be the only skiing around in the northeast come May, but fleecing their loyal customers for a $70 day ticket when there is only one trail open on the mountain is just appalling. Powdr Corp. has no respect for and takes no value in their customers. Turned away, driven away, priced out, and ignored, Powdr customers get the shaft over and over again. Don't spend a dime at this place.

By Empty424 |

What can I say? Killington is the best ski area in New England. Plenty of lifts and the new tunnels really make the skiing easier. They make snow even when they don't have to so they have a great base. The variety of difficulty makes this out go to resort, the double diamonds for the crazy grand kids and the nice cruising blue and green for us old folk.
One downside, everything is very expensive. Try to bring your own lunch and save a few bucks.

I love the fact that you can ski in April and still have great snow! It must be Killington's location, because the snow was still thick and wonderful. I was really impressed with the lodge at the top. 320 degree views that allow you to see all of Vermont! The food was also excellent. For a casual lodge it serves up fresh and great meals. I loved just sitting at the lodge and relaxing and taking in the views. The lifts are fast and do the job. There are so many trails and lifts that I got lost and my eleven year old had to set my straight! I feel that this resort is more for the advanced skier or someone looking for trills and a great time. I will be back... even if it is just to sit up at the upper lodge!

As far as east coast resorts go, Killington is as good as it gets when it comes to variety and scale of infrastructure. When we were there, the snow conditions were pretty awful, which unfortunately affects the entire experience. They have moved everything online for ticket and rental purchase, which is overly complicated if you have multiple people - some on Ikon, some using Ikon guest passes, some renting / some not, all skiing different days. It would have been helpful to just call and do it as the self service took forever! Also, the cafeteria is absurdly expensive and crowded and the area in front of it is so flat that you can't ski from one side to the other without having to walk.

'the beast" does it up right. HUGE Mt. with so much terrain you'll need a week to maybe ski it all. New bubble lift is great!

My first trip to Killington was in 1966, and I go back every year. I remember the infamous Killington double chair that slowly took skiers to the top of Killington peak. It always seemed that when I rode it, just as the chair cleared the crest, dangling above the trees, it would always stop - right where the wind was the coldest ! Thankfully, the K-1 Gondola came along and replaced the chair.

Just got back from a long weekend. When we heard that the 3 Nor' easters dumped almost 4 feet of snow, Killington became our immediate destination. This past weekend was perhaps the best skiing of the year. The Killington staff knows how to handle and groom snow, and the conditions were outstanding.

Hoping to get back up in May to do a little spring skiing on Superstar wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

By mookymom |

Killington is well run and the atmosphere was welcoming, most of all the skiing was great.
Spring skiing is great because the days are longer so you don't have to get on the mountain first thing. We arrived around 11 am when the early birds were leaving so we never had parking issues. We skied straight through till 4, we only stopped for quick breaks.

I bought goggles at the Killington Snowbase resort. I noticed there were scratches and tried to return them later in they day (with a receipt). I was then told they don’t accept returns without the box even though they removed them from the box before giving me the receipt noting these return conditions. The cashier/manager then asked me why I didn’t return them earlier, implying it was on me and they might have had a more lenient policy. I did not like that they implied it was my fault as the customer. Please be careful about what you buy in the stores. My hope is they stop making items unreturnable before giving you the return conditions on the receipt. Their current practices do not line up with the company policy I found out about later.

$150 wasted/stolen.

Great 2 days at the mountain! We rented equipment that went very smooth! The rfid one pass that allows you to fly thru the lift lines is the best! Make sure to keep the pass away from your cell phone so the signal dosnt get jumbled. There is tap water in the lodges so bring your water bottles inside to fill up. Covid policy is very good and I felt safe and they were enforcing the rules!!!! Trail conditions were great, lines were short and some of the best sking in years!

Killington is a really large and famous winter resort, famous for its difficulty and appeal to professionals. However, even if you are just learning snow sports for fun, Killington offers a great range of green and blue slopes. It's a big resort with 4 different mountain faces and just as many base lodges, with new and improved lifts. If one was truly dedicated, you could easily ski/snowboard from when lifts open to when lifts close on entirely different trails even on the same mountain. It is an expensive resort, but for what it offers it is very hard to beat.

My husband and I decided to do a staycation trip to the Killington area from Quechee, Vt. Just as a side note, best place to stay and eat is the Red Clover Inn! When we first went to the resort area to take the gondola up we found out that it was shut down due to T-storms. Totally understandable but it would have been nice if they had posted it on their website. The following day we went back and even though it was cloudy, the gondola ride up and back was beautiful. It was quite an experience to have our heads in the clouds. Since photography is my hobby, it lent to some interesting photo ops. The Peak Lodge at the top is lovely…You can sit inside or outside and take advantage of the majestic views. There is a bar and a food area if you wish to grab a drink or some snacks. In the summer, be sure to open up the windows in the gondola as it tends to get quite warm with no ventilation. It also helps to shoot your pictures from the open window rather than through the scratched-up windows of the gondola. The young staff was cordial and helpful and I would highly recommend the gondola ride as part of your day in Killington.

50th year skiing at killington. Vast variety of terrain. Great restaurants to eat at. Lots of accommodations at reasonable prices. Great shuttle system.

By Dannycaper |

Wide skill variation of terrain and can move from one side of the mountain to another with ease...fantastic ski destination. Lots of great runs and great new upgrades this year with tunnels and 6-chair covered lift. Reminded me of a little sister of Copper Mountain in Colorado... Has definitely become our favourite ski destination in the East!

By Tom N |

It hadn't snowed in awhile + big warm up and somehow the staff groomed for a great 3 days on the mountain. We were pleasantly surprised by the lack of lines at the lift and the staff were all very nice.

By Ling Ren |

It will vary day to day I am sure, but when I visited, there is zero green lane open, and the practice area was way too crowded.

By Brianne S |

We had a great time tubing this morning. However, we were the first group and got a late start due to some equipment malfunctions they said. They allowed the lost time to be made up at the end of the session, so no issues there. There were very little staff around, no one to assist children when they needed help to start down the slope, luckily there were a lot of friendly adults around to help out. Staff was very quiet and didn’t say much when hooking and unhooking the tube lift. Maybe it was just too early for them on new years eve day!

Overall a good time but nothing exceptional. We had tubed Hawksnest in NC previously, so comparing to that the slopes were nicer and better maintained (probably because it’s Vermont and not NC) but so much more staff and much friendlier in NC. They had one staff member per slope to assist in sending tubers down and many staff at the bottom as well.

First day today arrived in the ski school and was treated absolutely horribly by a hostile service person at Snowshed for a mistaken reservation (signed up remotely for first timer but actually came before, since it was straight forward plus less expensive). She was already cold and rude when approached by saying “can I help you” but with her tone and body language meant opposite. After I told her that we were here before she became nastier and acted like a police officer investigating a crime or stopping a scam. I asked if she could just help to use the reservation to avoid the hassle since we were on vacation and were exhausted from the long trip to killington. She asked “what do these have anything to do with that (means not to cancel everything)?” But without waiting for my response she turned around started phoning and I was happy thinking she might be actually trying to help. A minute later she turned back triumphantly saying that the ski school manager agreed with her and I would have to cancel my reservation. I was a little panic so asked how to get to ramshead where the management was located. She raised her chin asked aggressively “weren’t you here before? you should know don’t you?” I walked away from her harassment as fast as I could - what a detestable, miserable staff and her behaviors.
I spoke to the managers about the horrible staff and her unacceptable behaviors. They listened attentively and I felt that they were sincere. They also helped to rearrange similar lessons for the kids with our budget in mind.
I am sharing the experience to warn fellow vacationers to walk away from this type of behavior/person in Snowshed. I regret spending my precious time talking to this miserable person - I could have avoided her from the very beginning.

My wife and I visited Killington Resort on a driving holiday from the UK in August 2017. Top of my list of things to do was the Beast Mountain Coaster which was very good, long, fast and lots of fun. There was plenty to do there, including the Soaring Eagle zipline ride and the K-1 Express Gondola, which was expensive but well worth the trip up the mountain (approx. 10 minutes each way) for the amazing views.

Parking is free at the resort, but with the cost of riding the mountain coaster ($18) and Soaring Eagle ($14) and the K-1 Gondola ($30) it soon adds up. The K-1 gondola was comfortable and at the summit there is a large restaurant and bar. It's a popular spot for hikers and mountain bikes in the summer months. We were lucky to see a partial eclipse of the sun from the summit...what an amazing experience, and stunning scenery.

I have visited Killington on a few previous occasions and love it here

A great range of terrain for all skiing abilities

There has been new lifts put in and the Snowdon 6 was great with the covered bubble

Only gripe is the price of the lift tickets and food in mountain they really are now at the top end

We had lunch at the top and the lodge burger was a staggering $17!!! lunch for two that day was $54 and it didn’t really improve as the weekend went on including $4 fir a muffin!!

I would certainly return and recommend, however if you’re a larger family visiting make sure you take a packed lunch!!

Killington is huge so you need to spend more than one day boarding or skiing here! However there are so many trails there is something for everyone. The lifts can get crowded but there are a lot of them, so you can go to another area if one is too busy. It's a very challenging mountain! Have come here many winters in the past but have not visited this past winter.

By Alyssa P |

My friends and I went on Monday of MLK weekend and had an amazing time. No lines anywhere, lovely rental service (with helmet included) and miles and miles of slopes to ski. It made our weekend experience! And, the hot coca was delicious. Thanks, Killington!

By Nattysimps |

Amazing ski resort - the trails were very well groomed and the ski rentals were easily accessible. Good restaurants at the resort too. Great ski school for kids!

By AtoZedTravel |

We had the luxury of spending two weekdays here and had no problems what so ever getting on and off any of the lifts/gondolas. Despite lack of snow in the forecast and even some rain that had washed things out the skiing was amazing. Highly recommend hitting the runs on bear mountain early in the morning, as snow got heavy by the afternoon due to high traffic.

By Claudia G |

Great when I started skiing and even better now that I'm getting better. Few peak options with lots of trail options .. and though family friendly, the resort is large enough that you don't feel like you're at a family resort.

By Beata R |

The mountain is great but customer service is terrible, super sweet incompetent ladies. I m trying to get to know what happened with money for returned ticket for a month now. Every time I call I hear different explanation non of it is true. Unfortunately will have to deal with it when I visit this year

By Minerva A |

The weather that day wasn’t that good it was raining on and off. But the place was amazingly, I imagine on a clear day the view from the peak of the mountain has to be breathtaking. We went to Killington, because my son was doing the Spartan Race!

By Myles G |

I just returned from 4 days skiing at Killington with my son and his 11- and 13-year old sons. Though we had a wonderful time, we found the hill less enjoyable than other places we have skied.

The trails are not nearly as well marked as many places, and because there is so much space, that is a real drawback to finding one’s way around.

The site is not well engineered. A couple of examples: it is difficult to leave some of the lifts without running into other skiers, particularly when the place is crowded, which I gather it is every weekend. Trails leading to the main gondola at K1 mostly do not run right to the gondola, requiring a schlep, carrying skis to get there. Trails are not consistently graded, so that a blue run in one place has a good slope all the way down, whereas in another place, it has flats extensive enough to present a problem for boarders.

We found service generally to be friendly and efficient. Food was good- the usual high prices that one expects at a ski resort, but seating inadequate most places. (Kudos for service and cooking at Jerk! But you need more space there!)

The most egregious failure was that the stoner who provided my rental skis failed to adjust the bindings to fit my boots two days in a row! The first time, they blew out and I had to be rescued from the hill (by an amazing ski-patroller who brought me down a steep slope on a sled) and on the second day, the skis kept releasing. When I returned again to the shop, a different technician identified the previous one—“oh, Stoner,” which seemed right to me. He was just too mellow and had not adjusted the bindings properly.

We had fun at Killington. But if you have to travel some distance to get there, I’d vote for Mont-Tremblant, Whistler-Blackcomb, any of the Banff resorts, or Kimberley over Killington, All of those are better engineered, handle crowds better, have ski-in-ski-out accommodations, and have better trails. Even Marble Mountain in Newfoundland for just the hill.

Great skiing and hiking! Been coming here for decades and still love it every time I go. Great view from the top!

Feeling very lucky and spoilt after returning from my first ski trip in Killington. What a stunning place Killington resort is, thank you to all the staff who taught me to ski, helped me with my equipment and ensured we had the best time on the slopes. Your resort is fantastic and I feel privileged to have learnt to ski here.

By 319ellenp |

We were there in mid-Jan, there was little natural snow and the temps were super cold. The mountain was doing there best with what the Snow Gods were giving them and worker shortages. The staff we interacted with great. Lodges were not busy and clean. I was happy my first Killington experience was uncrowded.

Killington lost and found service. People are absolutely terrible. Called before 4 o’clock and asked to see if skis were left behind in a particular spot and a particular color easy to find no one could help me out they said that they would get back to me by 4:30 and they were conveniently closed at five and there is not one phone number one person to talk to to see if they were left behind expensive skis And they said that they would get back to me and conveniently they made sure that they were gone call back the next day with all the monies we spend up there and they could not help me out at all. What is this place turned into !!!!!

We had a great time lots of foreign people. Very friendly. Very expensive. Great skiing, great trails.

By Leslie P |

Conditions were good, fresh powder (if you like that sort of thing) on our second day. Very clean lodge and well maintained lifts and runs. Overall, even though it was VERY busy due to the holiday weekend and good weather, we still found the lines for food reasonable and places to sit available. That can't be said everywhere! Great job, Killington!

Our family of four went on ski trip to Killington just before Christmas. Our friends gave us advice and we checked out reviews before we went. This was our first trip to Killington. The entire resort was professionally managed and the property was very well maintained. Killington just hosted the Women's World Cup in November, which is a testament of the conditions of resort . We are elementary skiers so we booked the "learn to program". We had Phil, Lee, and Paul as our instructors for each of the three days. They were all patient and worked hard in teaching us and seriously wanting us to advance our skills. At the end of the trip, all four of us went on the blue trails and are now hooked to be skiers. During our trip, the staff at the booking desk, equipment rental desk, cafeteria, lift operators, and ski lessons were all professionals. Not even once we were disappointed. Thank you Killington and keep up the good work! We will be back next winter.

By Sue M |

Killington needs to improve its rates and ticket sales when it’s high season and so many of its trails are not open. We were totally disappointed with its conditions, the crowdedness and the cost over the holidays. One day costs a family of 5 almost $800 with rentals. Totally not worth it. Additionally, the day before, the mountain did not open until noon due to rain. We prepaid our tickets and rentals for two days hoping to save $200. We got the run around when asking for a refund. I’ll never go back there again. They only care about making $$$ and not customer care or loyalty. Good luck, hope your experience is way better than ours.

By STK23 |

This place is HUGE!!! So much variety of all types of skiers/riders. We got hit with about 100cm of snow in 3 days so the conditions were ridiculous! We had so much fun here, we will definitely be coming back soon!

By Cosmo29 |

We enjoyed five days of great skiing here at Killington. The lifts were varied from three person, to 6 person express to gondolas. The trails were groomed nicely and the slopes were often very quiet during the weekdays which was great. Hope to come back again next year.

By janelavona |

Killington is 'the beast.' You can see several neighboring ski resorts from the peak. There were many long runs. One thing that bothered us was that it seemed we had to take long cat tracks(ie. those slow switch backs that aren't really skiing) to get from one part of the mountain to another.

By Jenn C |

We were here for a few days over a 4 day weekend and absolutely loved it. The kids enjoyed so many levels of runs and I (mom) enjoyed how long some of the easier runs were. Just a beautiful weekend. Loved that I didn't feel over-taken by snow boarders (whom I know and like many) but on the smaller mtns further south it can feel like they are going to run you over.

Amazing resort a must to ski. Plan at least to days. Pico opens on Thursday. Lucky enought to ski first tracks.😁

I took my family (3 kids) tubing in Killington today. The place has a design flaw- at the bottom of the tubing hill there is only one exit. There should be two exits, one at opposite ends of the bottom of the hill. In 90 minutes I saw 5 kids get hit my tubing adults as the kids tried to clear the area that was at the bottom of the hill (farthest away from the exit). Two cried. One woman got hit and was limping. Staff at the bottom of the hill was present only half of the time. When present, the staff was not much more than statues - they did not direct traffic and did not help kids get out of the way. The resort should add one more exit at the bottom of the hill and staff the bottom of the hill with workers that actually direct people toward the exit. I ended up standing at the bottom of the hill to make sure my kids were not hit my sliding adults.

We bought ski poles from the Killington Mountain store at the base of the access road yesterday. Today we discovered that were not the right size so we did not ski on them the next day. However when we went to return them they refused to return the poles for a bigger size. A manager Codie determined that we had skied on them even though two people looked right at him and said they were not skied on.

He also was rude during the whole experience and did not even offer nor most likely knew that the poles are adjustable using an allan key.

So for advice on ski gear and nice people go up the road to Northern Ski Works they knew all about poles and helped me fix my old poles.

The new poles will be given to someone that can use that size and we will never buy from the Killington store ever again.

Called the Beast of the East, we experienced Killington at it's finest during a Nor'easter. We had about 8" of fresh powdery snow dumped on our first day skiing. Visibility was seriously limited throughout the day, but the snow was fresh and powdery. It was like skiing First Tracks all day long. Friday was not very busy and we were able to ski right up to the lifts almost every time. There were very few crowds on Friday. Saturday it definitely picked up but we avoided the Gondolas and central trails and had very short lines on the outer mountain trails. The terrain park was in good condition and the fresh snow allowed us to find several fun trails through the trees to ski.

Dining at the base mountain lodges averaged about $12-$15 per person in our party. There were options from soup and salad to burgers and fries. And all of the lodges had great beer selections. There was live music at the end of the day on weekends in several lodges we made it to as well.

The staff were friendly, the trails were mostly groomed, and other than a few closed trails it was an almost perfect weekend.

By Kathleen E |

Both beginner and double diamond trails are well marked, nice and wide and well patrolled if you need any assistance. Loved the wide and scenic beginner trail, it was so beautiful to be there.

By Chris W |

Best possible considering the weather, the ski instructors were very patient with some adult learn to ski visitors we dropped off.

By KIANA |

We went as a group of friends and had so much fun, that we will return again for a second time.
There is a gondola 🚡 and regular lifts. There’s no night skiing. So be prepared to wake up early and hit the mountain and have loads of fun.

By John M |

Can't say enough about the resort. We planned to buy lift passes online and woman I spoke to was very helpful as the computer system was down when I called for our passes instead.

Parking lot is still in good shape considering the melt and you did not get muddy on walk to gondola. The gondola was not good for our first ride up right at 9. The previous group had smoked in it. Not cool. Next ride on the K1 was a cabin that had just had someone smoke pot in.

Lunch was fantastic and the guys on the burger station made it a show and recommended items with enthusiasm. Very nice to see. Especially when lunch for 5 was 120$usd.

Adam the greater on the hill was a standout. During our first run as we stopped mid hill to make the choice on where to go stopped and offered advice. He was helpful and friendly as a Killington ambassador. We saw Adam again at the top during lunch where he had more suggestions and then again at the end of the day for family activity apres ski. A truly nice guy.

You don't find this much going on at most resorts. The hill is obviously amazing but the other stuff will make me choose to come back here again soon.

Killington is an excellent ski resort. The mountain offers so many options for different skill levels.

We found it easy to navigate and easy to go from peak to peak.

So many trails, so many good options, one trip isn’t enough!

We skied and snowboarded during the week and had many trails all to ourselves. Toward the end of the week the crowds increased but lifts are fast and lines move quick (if you find a line)

By like2cruise4 |

The mountain itself is large. On the Day we went there was a 45 minute for the gondola at times and other lifts were all past the ropes hurdlng you in like cattle. The Snow was excellent I have to say. But people are Rude, on instructor I rode a lift with stated Killington is a NYC and NJ mountain so you do not mention NE sports. That would make sense why people are rude they are use to city life and not country friendly life. AT Killington people stop at the end of trails in the middle of them so it blocks the way to the merging trail and Killington like to merge all trails with easy one intersectin right trough the more challenging ones, but sorry this causes accidnents as the beginners stop where they shouldn't and the experienced ones will ski inches and I mean inches from you to prove a point. Multiple times in the lines people would say how they got ran into, WHY. RUDE people. Comments from people if you have older gear and not the latest and most expensive. Skiing should be about going out and having a good time but at Killington I observed social peer pressure at it worse and would not return for that reason even though the mountain was pretty good.

We weren't sure what we were getting into, skiing for the first time outside of Michigan. This skiing was awesome and the slopes were great. It snowed all day which made the skiing and spirits better! We got our tickets online and saved some money. Our son is a fifth grader and he skied for free by ordering his ski passport early. Great family vacation.

On December 7, 2017, my daughter Aimee and I had the best ski lesson I ever could have wished for. I barely slept the night before because I was so nervous about skiing, but Chris made the experience so enjoyable. He was so perceptive of our physical and mental challenges and pushed us outside of our comfort zone in the most supportive and encouraging way. My daughter was pretty challenging and Chris went to great lengths to try to get her to enjoy the experience. He helped me focus on the joy of the experience which made my fears disappear. I had so much fun and can't wait to ski again thanks to him.

I and some friends went to Killington on Sunday and skied Pico on Monday and Killington on Tuesday. What was amazing besides the weather and recent fresh snow was our excellent Killington ambassador tour guide Kevin. He gave us a tour of Killington taking us down the six mountains and getting us back to Ramshead lodge where we had started. If you have never been skiing in Killington take the tour you won’t regret it.

This place is a winner! I was expecting just a cafeteria, but this place is way beyond a cafeteria. It has amazing views and is very modern. The menu is fairly extensive. The food was great and the portions large. The cook who helped me was great as well. There is also a bar or you can just grab a drink from the cooler. I eat out a lot, so I tend to be picky. No need to fret about giving this place a shot! It's worth the hike or gondola ride just to stop in for a meal.

By FrankX24 |

Skiing is always good there but I am always disappointed with the work ethic at some of the lifts, especially the K1 Gondola. Usually starts late, has mechanical issues and numerous workers just stand around and offer little to no assistance to efficiently load the cars.

Overall a great day trip focused on mountain biking with two ten year old boys

- ticket sales /customer service - 3 out of 5, the online store didn’t work night before and onsite there was a disconnect between customer service and online (“that’s not us, so we can’t help you”). Thus we didn’t get Day ahead discounts
- rentals - 5 out of 5 - got a great bike and quickly on the trails
- trails - 6 out of 5 - really awesome and well maintained. Will definitely come back
- repairs - 4 out of 5 - had a flat and brake issues on the boys bikes and they quickly fixed and at reasonable cost ($20 for flat tire, $5 for brake adjustment)
- value - 3 out of 5 - it’s like skiing, it adds up quickly - for family of 3 it was about $350 for day with tickets and 1 bike rental ($117 for a men’s standard bike for the day) - burgers on top of mountain were $17($65 lunch)

Overall would have rated a 5, however the customer service experience didn’t start the trip out in a good foot

I have been going to Killington since 1987, with my husband and 2 daughters . We have stayed at the condos at Killington and few private homes. We have not gone on a yearly basis, but have been there about 20 times. We now have been there the last 2 years for the grandchildren to learn to ski and snowboard . They started at 3 and 5 And now are 5 and 7. My daughter has been at 2 other ski resorts in Vermont and feels Killington has the best ski school. Kids start about 9:00/. 9:15 till about 3.

By James |

Can't go wrong with this ski resort, a great place to learn if you can't already. There is a good mix of easy and more difficult slopes with an easy map to navigate. Good location only a few hours from Boston, as well as many restaurants in Killington town itself.

The thing I would say is there is a lack of difficult slopes. They have a load of double black diamonds that wouldn't even be blacks if skiing in Europe! There is one tough moggle run (I forget the name) that is often used as a show piste in peak season.

Overall a good option when picking a ski resort in America.

We visited Killington Resort March 8-11th, 2017 after a short 7 hour trip to get there. Bummer...They just had several warm days. Our first day out was a bit icy BUT they still groomed many of the trails beautifully, the snow makers were humming and we had a great time! For our second day I could not believe how much snow they made overnight...what a difference! It seems like the resort is divided into 3 mountains with the center one being the black diamond skiers delight. The boys did nearly every trail that was open, rode both gondolas and most lifts. Due to the midweek and late season there was zero wait to get up the mountains. As an intermediate skier I found the blue trails a bit challenging but fun. Several green trails were long and although marked as the 'easiest route' were sometimes scary with small steep hills...I got past them though. Novice skiers will enjoy the green trails but be prepared to go slowly down the few steep parts! Lots of signage on the slopes to get you back to the base lodges - there are several.

The Base Lodges! We felt the 4 Killington lodges were underwhelming. As a top ski destination we expected nicer, higher-end facilities with fireplaces, comfortable living-room like seating and better food options. I visited SnowShed, K1 and Bear base lodges and they were all much the same. Nice but standard! We were happy that at K-1 there were tissues available everywhere including on the wall when you walk indoors!

Food! The first day we ate lunch upstairs at The Long Trail Pub. Waiter and food we're top notch and as we we're leaving a guitar player/singer was just starting and he sounded great! Second day we ate in SnowShed's cafe downstairs and it was tasty but standard pricey fair. It was easy to find an outlet to charge our phones. It would have been nice to enjoy a fancy hot chocolate in front of a fireplace before going back out but perhaps that is just my style.

The People! I'd read on Trip Advisor that the workers at Killington were nice. Indeed, every person was awesome and had smiles on their faces! Several guides at the lodges and the parking areas helped us find where to go. We visited the Sports Shop in SnowShed and found the guy 'very knowledgeable' about the equipment and goggles they sell.

Would we return...YES...you betchya! I can tell by the many parking lots this place must get packed on snowy days in Jan & Feb. We were impressed with the people, that the facilities were well maintained and the GREAT snowmaking.

Loved this mountain. One day is not enough to do all of the runs. The two days we skied I could have skied a different trail every time and still would not have skied every trail. This resort has skiing for everyone! We skied on a Sunday and the place was mobbed. On Monday it was still busy but I wasn't concerned about the other skiers around. The wait times were not bad for how busy it was. Definitely coming back

Good grooming, lots of chairs, bubble lifts, gondolas to give you a break from the elements. welcoming staff, easy to get around, had a great say of skiing

My goal is to visit an amusement park in all 50 states. Vermont is my 27th state and my 49th state to visit. This was my amusement park to visit. 6 of us rode the coaster. It was so much fun. I highly recommend it. We also rode the Gondola. It was a beautiful ride. Originally we wer told we could take ski lift up and walk a short distance to gondola. This was not true. We could not find gondola after walking about half a mile. We walked back to ski lift and rode down and got driving directions to gondola. Much better. it was a beautiful place.Beast

3000 vertical feet is BS, the only way to ski 3000 feet is on beginner trails. 7 connected peaks is BS, only 2 mountain areas open with the mountain covered in snow. Battered lodges for the most part. Peak lodge which I expected to be the cool spot to hang out and is the newest lodge, has been closed for days. Food courts made me sick. Ramshead, Snowshed, Bear, PIco peaks all closed. Skyship base closed. Oh, BTW you can't get to Pico from Killington unless you drive. Largest snowmaking system anywhere never ran. Most chairlifts around? 1-3 chairs currently running out of like 30-something. Lots of the bars and restaurants close early.

Killington resort is a massive ski area that offers a wide range of terrain. You can ski one mountain or ski them all and you will be very happy. Bear Mountain is the place to be for warmer skiing in the morning. The Peak can be cold it but the K1 gondola will keep you warm on your quick trip to the top. From the Peak you can access the many different skiing levels. Want some cruiser runs, take 4 mile train all the way down to the Gondola base station. Want some more steeps, take some turns on cascade or over to double dipper. If you with the family and are just learning to ski, Snowshed is second to none. Still learning but got some confidence, Ramshead is a good mix of easy Greens and some fun Blues. All the mountains are also connected by greens so should you take any lift up you will never be trapped by trails above your ability. Always have a map handy because it can get confusing. The tree skiing is very varies from wide open glades to real steep and tight areas that are for some of the most advances skiers. KNOW YOUR LIMITS AND COMFORT LEVELS. Most of all have fun. The tickets can be a bit pricey but you get a ton of trails and you wont get bored during a weekend or long holiday week. So grab your skies and your family and get out there. As all the great skiers know, if you don't do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do.

This place is a dump. Inadequetly staffed, over priced with no towels filthy shower, with footprints in it . The room had not been vaccumed every other local hotel was full so we had no choice. A complait at checkout did not stop them from charging full price & subsequent complaints to Hilton finally got us 100000 points not an adequate response.

Killington Pico are just an exceptional combination of ski areas with very different terrain and customer experience. Killington is a BIG mountain and a BIG resort. The skiing experience is so broad and there’s something for every level of skier. Pico is a small mountain, family oriented experience but has fantastic terrain. I could buy the NY pass and go to Gore and Whiteface or I could go to Sugarbush but I choose Killington Pico because the depth of experience is a much better value on every level.

By Zachary M |

Best mountain by far of the east. Sister mountain Pico is also very good which you can also use your killington lift ticket for

By Mobile641164 |

Come here all the time ticketing ridiculous that no" in person" ticketing ...requring an on line fiasco.. the new lodge does not have capacity for the number of people even on weekdays...lift attendants allow single riders when ridiculosly long lines....getting to be a huge ripoff.

By Willabe |

We had a great time at Killington. Plenty of trails for beginners and intermediates. Trails were well maintained. Lifts were running smoothly. We’ve visited Okemo when our kids were smaller, but Killington is a great choice for older kids and teens. We skied for two days- on our last day we skied open to close and still felt like there more trails to tackle.

They have free bag check. Though it’s not manned. We packed lunches and left them in the bag check. Food is pretty pricey. Make sure you stop at the Waffle Cabin. It’s worth it for the kids!

We purchased tickets online- check ID.me for discounted tickets. There really aren’t many discounts available for Killington lift tickets.

The room was smaller than advertised. There was no air-conditioning. There was a dehumidifier that would not turn on. There was no hot water in the sink. The tub needed repair. The bathroom fan did not work

I have been going for many years. No matter who I go with, and no matter what their skill level, they always find plenty to keep them happy.

By Robert W |

Killington has lots of runs of all skill levels with a very interesting layout. Instead of boring straight runs side by side These runs have twists and turns. Even with only 1/2 the runs open before Christmas it was still a very fun ski trip.

By Sharon S |

Our family ranges from skiing green/blue to snowboarding black diamonds. There are numerous trails for everyone. No one gets bored before they get tired. We love the new bubble lift and tunnels. We can only go there in February. It's cold. We had excellent ski conditions this time. Many thanks to all the wonderful Killington employees who made our vacation another success this year. We enjoyed the Subaru Winterfest activities. We like staying in the Grand with our age differences for the convenience and the pool/hot tub/spa/restaurant. All the employees there are stellar (front desk, Prestons, valet, housekeeping, Duane was extremely helpful)....except the gift shop. We usually have good service there but this time ...it was lacking. The employee left the ink tag on my 1/4 zip. Ugh. And she was closed for 10minutes, a lot. The breakfast buffet was good. Who doesn't love an omelet to order?
The walls are a little thin in the hotel but we were so tired we didn't care. You might.
The shuttle van to anywhere you want is also stellar. They are quick to respond and pick you up. Valet your car and don't bother driving anywhere. Can't wait to go back.

I think that this is one of the best skiing place in USA East Cost. You want better go West or North to Canada.

We went to see, not to ski. Our FL grandson was with us on a graduation trip and wanted to see snow.
It was great watching the people ski & snowboard.

The biggest ski resort that we've been to.
The service was great too. In addition they have an amazing bar with a view on the top of the mountain.

I have been skiing Killington for years and I love the mountain. The conditions were great this time as well and the trails are amazing. However, the employees were absolutely Terrible!! Rude, arrogant and entitled. It was almost as if they were annoyed they had to be there. The thirty minute time limit in the lodges is a new rule because of Covid. And okay I get that. But when you have a five year old, seven year old and an eleven year old with type one diabetes a manager should be able to make an exception. I asked for an extra ten minutes and he told me no and proceeded to literally kick me out of the Peak lodge. This was at 2:30 in the afternoon with over half of the tables empty and no line to get in. I am a business owner and I would NEVER treat a customer like that. I understand it is COVID Vermont rule. Well Vermont is now a place I won’t return.

Killington has allot to offer for an east coast mountain. Staff is helpful. Snow is good (even with all the rain and warm temps we have had). We took a nice weekend snowboarded for two days and will be back next year. Bear mountain is a much quieter side of the mountain if you so t want to deal with the people

By Stephen M |

Booked a learn to ski/ride trip with our teens! The instructors are amazing. Patient with great tips and instructions never made anyone in the group feel small or stupid with any questions they may ask. Plenty of ski areas for beginners and advanced as well! All 3 of our kids had never been on snowboards and all feel confident enough to continue to board when we get home!!!!

I’m a Connecticut boy who has skied our hills since I was an early teen. Going to Killington and it’s legendary mogul (As big as Volkswagens....was the old saying) fields was a right of passage for any New England skier. I recently brought my 11 year old for his baptism by fire and after a few warm ups we hiked to the peak and skied Catwalk. It was heaven in the 20” of powder. It’s awesome. I can’t wait til next season. As for you dear reader, go for it-the Beast of the East welcomes all.

By Yoletsgo123 |

Killington is actually five mountains wrapped into one interconnected ski area that’s impossible to ski every trail in one day. On the day we went it was snowing with high winds so the lifts to the highest peak “Killington summit” were closed but bear mountain, sky peak Snowdon Mountain and ramshead mountain were all open and lift served so we had plenty of area to ski. And weren’t disappointed.

Now about the terrain. When they say black diomond they mean black diomond and when they say double black diomond you better be an excellent skier and be prepared to be challenged and I don’t care if your an Olympic freestyle skier. The bear mountain area especially has some of the most difficult terrain I’ve ever skied. The devils den glade was unbelievably steep and difficult one false move and you’ll hit a tree and the devils fiddle trail has moguls the size of small cars. Do not and I repeat do not make the mistake of going onto a trail that’s outside of your skill set. But novices shouldn’t be deterred there’s tons of blue and green runs. There are also incredible terrain parks. There really is something for all ability levels.

Each peak has its own base lodge with ticket booth and cafeteria plus there’s waffle cabins and restaurants strewn throughout the resort. The food was good and the wait staff was super friendly and efficient. The mountain offers free tours by these ambassador people wearing green jackets. They are everywhere and happy to answer any questions you may have. I had the pleasure of ridding a lift with one of them and got some great info. Where else can you get that?

At first I thought the lift ticket was a little pricey but once I went I quickly realized that for just a little bit more you get so much. The price of the lift ticket is worth every penny!

If you haven’t been to Killington you owe it to yourself to take the trip. Not just for the skiing which is the best in the east in my opinion but for the atmosphere and the culture. The area has a true sense of community that you won’t find at other resorts.

By Mitch-MK |

We attended a ski competition hosting 300+ young skiers. Great snow, lifts, etc. One confusing point was that trails to Snowdon Triple and Snowdon Quad (more confusion!) required considerable care or you'd wind up at the wrong lift. The "tone" here is really "community." People care for one another, including the employees and skiers. It makes a great facility a wonderful place to visit, including the parking lot attendants, lift operators, cashiers, you name it. We WILL be back.

By ImKlem1 |

We had a fantastic weekend at Killington!! There was an excellent restaurant onsite, the areas were clean and quiet, parking wasn’t bad considering the main garage was under construction, and everything worked perfectly! We were close to many mountain activities, and literally within walking distance to the K1 Gondola.

By smvNYC |

There is no doubt that Killington tries to meet the expectations of a a variety of people, from advanced skiers or snowboarders to family day trippers. Put this also next to the large size and one can expect some rough edges.

However, it does not make any sense not to have clear markings as you make your way to the base. Once there, it does not make any sense to have to wait 30 minutes to get your equipment (including most time to simply having your pass read) despite having booked the rentals much earlier. It also does not make any sense to describe the kids ski school as responsive to the skier's level. Our kid spent the day mostly waiting for slower skiers and never going on the trails at levels he was promised (despite the instructor saying this every 30 minutes). Put this next to a very inflexible customer service organization that was not helpful when changes were needed.

The snow was great, and if the resort would improve on how they share information and how the work with the customers, a better experience would have been had. Will we give them another try? Maybe.

I have been skiing Killington for 48 years it is my home for skiing.Went the week of March 4th.midweek some of the best conditions all year.Except in their greed to extend the season snow guns were on the great northern trail 24 hours a day every day with no grooming impossible to traverse the mountain with out getting blasted by the guns every few hundred feet.I feel twice and I am an upper intermediate skier who ever did this should be fired.I guess Killington doesn’t care about midweek skiers in their greed to get ready for the weekend crowds,SHAME SHAME !!!!!!!!

My first time skiing was at Killington and I absolutely loved it.

The best part was the adult Learn to Ski lesson with Todd, which I did for two days.

Todd was the best instructor I could have ever hoped for. I am a brand new skier and not particularly adventurous/athletic. He immediately put me at ease, going above and beyond to make me feel calm, safe, and confident. He was a skilled instructor, gave every person in our group individualized attention, protected us from others on the slopes (lots of crazy/inexperienced skiers and snowboarders out there!) He helped us learn to ski, not just physically, but mentally, talking to us about fear, and not to let it stop us. It was like a lesson/therapy session - in the BEST way. I can’t stop raving about how much I loved my lessons. By the end of day 2, I was taking the chair lift and skiing greens on my own!

Ok so I'm here now! $115 full day lift ticket, well there full day on a Saturday is 8am till only 4pm. I know it to cold And they don't have lights, but it almost 5 And still plenty of light out. For the money I want another hour.
Gondolas, four seat lifts but today about 1/4 of montain down because of wind but it isn't bad at all. Lines were super long like 30 minutes long for K1 gondola. Rediculous for the money, because 3 lifts were down so every1 kept ending up at the same lifts. Whatever just so money hungry like most places.
The runs r long and good thou so it's hard to hate. There's a bar with food at the top of K1 gondola which is amazing but again expensive.
Check out Killington Motel for cheap, clean, nice, great shower, big room place to stay. I'm glad we stayed here it's a great deal.
I would go to Killington again but maybe just on a weekday.
Oh we skied Friday and it was awesome noone hardly at All on the slopes.
BUT it was $104 for skiing noon to 4pm. Really!! It's a rip but what can u do

By LoveTravel402536 |

Was there for the mountain biking. Had a wonderful time with a huge variety of trails and terrain. A great bike shop, and a full, fun day. With such long runs you cant help but have a great time.

By Eddie M |

Skied for 1 day at Killington - conditions were stunning and lift infrastructure made it easy to get around the mountain. Great selection of runs and staff very friendly in directing you to the best trails.

Parking and ticket collection was quick and convenient. Rental service was friendly although equipment was well worn and I would recommend off site if skiing for more than 1 day.

Only negative was quality off food. Very few options “due to covid”. $20 for a very average hot dog.

While on a recent trip to Boston and Cape Cod my wife and I, my youngest daughter and a girl friend of hers decided to ski at Killington. We skied at the Snowshed area because of the cold and strong winds. Although cold and windy, the trails we skied had good snow and provided all the challenge we needed. The base lodge was crowded when we stopped for lunch but we were able to get our orders in a reasonable time. Good conversation and our Long Trail brews helped our wait time pass quickly. Our bottom line is that we enjoyed our visit to Killington and hope we have the opportunity to return.

By username1 |

The day starts off with a rude staff member. I was having trouble finding my ticket using my One Pass and went to have it checked. After checking, the staff member just threw my One Pass on the table like it was trash. Apart from this person and the coach that I am going to mention, other staff members were very helpful and friendly.

As I was a first-timer, I joined the lesson Adult Learn To and the coach Martin was just absolutely obnoxious and awful. There were mainly 4 problems with him.

First, he has unreasonable biased opinions about me. One time I was skiing down hill and because of the terrain my ski turned and I was going in his direction. Afraid that I was gonna hit him, I panicked and forgot to snow plough (technique for slowing down). He of course got out of my way easily but I crashed into the nets surrounding the area. When he came over to help me up, he said "I know you are in a hurry. You probably think this is an expensive lesson, but you don't have to hurry." He was obviously thinking I was going fast on purpose and chose not to slow down. Over the next 2 hours, almost every time I fall down, he would come over and accuse me of "trying to master it on first day" and "trying to become an expert in first lesson". Another time, since he taught us to always look around to avoid collision with other people, I was looking around and just so happened to glance at people who are taking an elevator-like thing (he calls it the carpet) to get to the top of the area. He saw that I was looking at people going to higher positions and immediately said "Do not be a terrain junkie. Do not always think of going higher blah blah blah." He was just so obsessed with the idea that I am trying to ignore the basics and go fast that everything I did just reinforced that impression of me. Being constantly accused for being someone I am not is just the worst learning experience ever.

Second, he did not give clear instructions. He likes to teach and give instructions as he is demonstrating it himself. This is kinda reasonable I guess but the end result is I can't hear a word he says. As he is going downhill, he is just getting farther and farther away. He is also facing the downhill direction while the people learning is on the uphill direction, so he's basically facing none of his students and talking to the air. It becomes impossible to hear a word he says soon. When his demonstration is over, he just stays down there 20-30 meters away and yell instructions at us. I cannot hear a single word and the only signals I received were his gestures, which also made no sense. I saw that my classmates were also confused. One time I mistakenly thought he was signaling me to go with his gestures and skied down and fell hard on my back on ice. Turns out he was asking me to move to another position without ice. Another thing about teaching is he rarely teaches when all students in the class has assembled. Usually I am the one left out. When students ski down one by one, I'm usually the last one to go. By the time I reach the bottom the other students already were quite near to the starting position again. He almost always starts teaching the next technique before I sidesteps up close enough to hear what he's saying. I can just learn from observing his movements as I am sidestepping up and cannot hear any verbal teaching.

Third thing is that he almost ever lets you speak a complete sentence. As previously mentioned, when I first fell down, he accused me of being in a hurry because lesson is so expensive. I tried to tell him that is just not true but he cuts off every single sentence that I tried to say. I was trying to say "I am not in a (hurry)" and then he goes "No no no no no no listen to me, there's no need to hurry" before I even said the word hurry. Throughout the 2 hours of lesson, I think 80% of my sentences and questions are just cut off. Seriously what is the point of teaching when you don't allow students to tell you what they think happened and ask questions. I could watch a video that teaches me the exact same thing.

Last thing is his inability to provide constructive feedback. I was having huge problems when slowing myself down with snow plough. I fell down several times because I could not slow myself down very well and usually panic when speed picks up. He watched me try over 10 times and fell several times. Just tells me to practice and try again. Of course he cuts me off when I tried to tell him somehow I can't slow down even if I'm in the snow plough position. Then one time I was waiting for my turn to go, a classmate told me that I should push the inner edge of my skis into the snow and just maintaining a V shape that lies flat on the snow surface doesn't work. That was near the end of the lesson and I didn't have a lot of time to try. But after having lunch, following the advice of my classmate, I succeeded in slowing myself down after just a few tries. Coach Martin watched me fail many times, not able to provide any useful feedback. Just one tip from my classmate gets my snow plough working. My classmate actually provided more constructive feedback than the coach.

All in all, awful experience mainly because of arrogant coach who never listens and assumes things about his students. I heard he also taught kids to ski. I wonder how many children's first experience with skiing is ruined because of him.

By On_the_go_with_joe_m |

The grooming really helped set a good base for most of the runs open. The snow overnight certainly helped the conditions but it was good that the base was in good shape as well. Traversiing from Ramshead to K1 Lodge was easy to do with the runs and lifts open

I always come to Killington to ski my first runs for the season. I am NEVER disappointed with the quality of the skiing, the customer service and the food.

By gtonyg81 |

Loved our time at Killington. We were there during the week so it wasn’t crowded and the snow conditions were amazing. Great layout that includes easy and difficult runs wherever you are. The staff is so helpful and they have people everywhere to help you with run choices and directions. We will definitely go back here

By Seth W |

We go every year and this year we stayed in the high ridge condominiums. It was a very nice Lee kept and start condo. The mountain was amazingly kept up and groomed. Only thing that I would say could be better would be the price of the food at the resort.

By Margaret R |

Love this resort, as a first timer at Killington I have been delighted with everything. The place is so friendly, not at all crowded and super snow, well done all who must work so hard to keep it in top condition.

By viganiko |

The positives are big area, some fast lifts and gondolas. We found parking close to the lodges both days, they had bag storage in both lodges we tried, so we didn’t need to leave our street shoes in the cold car. We went with kids, who were confident up to high intermediate level. So the black ones with thin coverage or in icy conditions were out, that meant to traverse a lot to get to nice long runs. We found the Snowdown area the best. We got a snow stormy day and a second with sunny but windy weather. Only a few runs were groomed, most of them were icy with sudden deep powdery patches. A lot of runs still had thin coverage signs in mid February, as they don’t make snow on those and it was a warm year. I found the actual amount and quality of skiing not worth the extra expense compare to a cheap, but well groomed medium sized mountain. The lodge food was overpriced and mediocre in the Ramshead lodge, much better quality in the Peak Lodge, but there the grill line was very slow.

By Brandon H |

We went to Killington as our first ski experience in Vermont and were not disappointed. We finished skiing Friday afternoon before the mad rush of Presidents day holiday. For 3 days, we mostly had the mountain to ourselves. We also spent 2 hours one afternoon skiing Pico, which was a nice surprise. We will definitely return to both. There is a wide variety of terrain to fit all experience levels.

We had a great time here, the front desk people and the 2nd floor House cleaning were very helpful to us an dour little questions.

Great runs. Def get the lesson if it’s your first time. Weather screwed us both days. When the rain is to bad the adventure park gets shut down and thunder shuts down the entire operation. Kids missed out on 2.5 hrs of biking.

Just wonderful. I just don’t even have words for this incredible vacation. Except:

VALROC HOTEL was very clean and beautiful bright rooms with our old world look. I just can’t wait to go and stay there again. I will not stay anywhere else but the VALROC MOTEL in Killington Vermont . Dan and Sandy Farbman are the best.

The childrens ski school at Killington leaves a lot to be desired. I dropped off two boys (aged 7 and 9) with instructions on their very different skill levels. They ended up being placed in the same group where the younger brother was struggling to keep up and the older brother was bored. The second day of our trip, I made a point that the 9 year old needed a greater challenge and the staff assured me that we would be appropriatly matched to his skill level. For the second day in a row he wasted his time with younger kids who could not keep up with him. Killington's ski school neither listens to the parents of their students nor cares to appropriately engage them to learn and grow as skiirs. It has been a pretty spectacular fail on several fronts.

By Lindos14 |

I have travelled to Killington on a number of occasions and have always found the resort to be superb. Even when at the height of season the resort does not feel busy due to the large ski area.
With large wide pistes and all being tree lined it gives a great feel.

There are plenty of mountain restaurants and the main resort station basis are a great size.

You will need a car when staying in Killington because all hotels and lodges are based on the mountain road up to the resort. It is more than possible to stay in Rutland and get into the resort.

By skyJim |

This group of friends and fools assembles every spring for a week of skiing in Vermont. The group collectively has been making this trip for over 30 years, renting a cabin where we can ski out in the morning & ski back in at day's end. This year, they had the snow-making going full blast for two days.
The slopes are top-notch, and the base restaurants are good; but our favorite lunch stop is the Peak Lodge, at the top of Killington (elv. 4241 ft). The food is better (but pricier), and the view is great! Grilled cheese & tomato soup $9

By Matt M |

Fun skiing here. Alot of terrain especially for the east coast. A good variety of chairlifts, practically everywhere you turn. A good place for families.

By Brady F |

Even thought they admit they failed they do nothing about is.

Unfortunately, during your visit, we experienced a power outage that affected Bear Mountain, the Skyeship Express Gondola and the Needle's Eye area, inconveniencing many of our guests.

Although weather and electrical power outages are beyond our control, we do control the response we mount to those challenges, and we fell short of providing the best possible experience. We will be applying the lessons learned from these challenging circumstances as we move forward to improve our processes and procedures. I sincerely hope you’ll return and give us another chance to show you Killington Resort at its best.

By Seth W |

Always great conditions. Just a fun place to be with kids and have great skiing there is so much variety that even after 4 straight days of skiing I felt like there was so much more I would like to do.

By Jen L |

So much fun to go up the mountain in the summer. A little pricey - $30 per ticket, but it got us a $5 credit at the lodge at the top (don't get excited, it's about the cost of a water). The views along the ride were simply amazing though. At the top, you can climb a short way to a summit of sorts. I'd recommend that you wear sneakers - a few people were trying to do it in sandals and were struggling. Definitely worth the trip up!

By Maria L |

Although we were disappointed the the sauna and other spa amenities were closed when we went the location was peaceful and inviting.

I got some great runs in on Superstar yesterday. If you have the time it is worth it. I thought it might be too hot and mushy but it was perfect. They must have groomed it because by 11am it was getting challenging to pick your way down for a few feet at the top.

By MarionSch71 |

We were there for a wedding in October 2015. Food and service were great. Since it was a private function I can not say anything for pricing or if the food we had were standard or not.

But the view were amazing. We were lucky to have a great sundown. Guess I would come back for walking.

By llbloom |

Large terrain and varying levels of difficulty particularly for the East Coast. A lot of snow making that results in a long season.

By Mmse95 |

I have had a super week skiing and have had great conditions. I wish Killington had a bit more organization. Hate having to pole to get from Superstar over to the Gondola. The difficulty ratings are soft and during the week several good quad lifts are closed. There are no electronic billboards posting lifts that are open..ended up over at Ramshead coming off of Chute and had to take the slow way back. That said I have had a blast on the mountain and will likely come back.

By Gregory M |

What a disappointment! I drove 1.5 hours with 3 children (adults by their definition) spending $271.36 only to find:

K-1 Express gondola: Closed
Trampoline Jump: Closed
WreckTangle: Closed
Downpour Derby: Closed

These are all listed on their website as part of the "Adventure Center Unlimited 1-day Pass.” Other attractions like the Zipline Racer are only available to older children even though anyone 7 years old or older pays full price. The fact that 50% of the promised attractions were not available was not noted on the website or at check-in. Management did not respond when contacted.

I always love skiing the Beast! I know Superstar and Outer Limits get all the love, but Snowden, South Ridge, North Ridge are all areas worth exploring.

Always great conditions, and nice staff as well.

We got some snow but this place is excellent at always blowing snow and growing there base. The beast of the east is the biggest mountain on the east coast.

By sef715 |

Spring break 2023 - first time at Killington. Resort was great, especially outdoor pool and jacuzzi’s. Otherwise, the mountain was surprisingly void of community “ski culture” - music, fire pits, different shops on in walking distance from the mountain. Has a few bases with a variety of ski foods but nothing for apres. Restaurants are scattered on Mountain Rd.

By AlwaysUpForGoodFood |

The updated decor is awesome. The restaurant, Preston’s, offers a variety of food and drink that’s interesting in one of the most polished spots in Killington. As always the gigantic outdoor pool and jacuzzis overlooking the mountains is breathtaking.
We were there for Brewfest and it was great. Buy a pretzel necklace‼️There were two weddings and the staff were comfortable with everything. The valet, maid service, front desk, spa/health club personnel were all personable and helpful. I highly recommend this place throughout the year, not just ski season.

Best sking option in the northeast, hands down. I have been to every major ski resort in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. Only Sunday River & Jays Peak can come close to comparing with Killington. Why? Killington is so big, you will think you have the mountain to yourself sometimes. Killington offers wide open slopes, challenging glades, peaceful trails, and its the only mountain I would take a first time skier to peak. Killington offers easy green trail options from the peak to the lodge, and it has plenty of places to stop at on your way down. Killington also has some of the best black diamond trails in the northeast, plenty of blue trails for the average skiers, and their two terrain parks are very unique and challenging. You will spend considerably less time standing in chair lifts lines at Killington, vs any other northeast ski resort. Killington has lifts everywhere. You can stay around rhe peak, ski half way down and return via two gondolas, or spend an entire hour sking as fast as possible from the summit to base lodge. You never have to take the same route twice. Killington has too many trails to list. The nightlife at Killington is unrivaled. No other mountain offers so many different nightlife options. From a quiet piano bar to full-fledged party time. See live bands at the Wobblybarn or kick back in one of the outdoor hot tubs. This place is a dream come true for younger adults, as well as sophisticated wine connoisseurs. There must be at least 30 different locations to enjoy dinner, drinks, quiet conversation, or you can let your hair down and dance the night away. Don't worry about drinking and driving. Killington offers free shuttle service day and night. Killington is a true paradise for skiers & snowboard riders of all abilities. That is what truly stands out amongst the other 30 plus reasons to choose Killington over any other ski resort on the Northeast. Killington will not disappoint. That I can honestly guarantee. See you on the slopes.

Went in late March (not February) with wife and kids. Was nervous to go in the spring due to warm weather but the trip turned out to be spectacular. Spring skiing is amazing. No crowds at all and the warm weather was a plus! I put the kids in with a ski instructor and never having had a formal lesson myself, Brad, our instructor, recommended I join. Not only did he up my game, he had my 2 novice kids skiing in intermediate level blue trails during the first day! I couldn’t believe it. The second day was even better. He was great. I call Brad the Bob Ross of ski instructors! He has patience, is a bit philosophical, great sense of humor, is just fantastic with kids, full of similes so the kids can understand, and he can immediately pick out incorrect technique and show you how to correct it.
Brad- thanks a million!
On our last day we skied as a family. And a family that skis together - stays together!

Taking the K-1 express to the top of Killington Peak was a great value! The restaurant at the top serves food and snacks and there is also an area that serves cocktails up there. We were able to sit in some adirondack chairs in an outdoor seating area overlooking the view while drinking our coffee.

Great place for any level of skiing or snowboarding. Tons of trails and many varied typed of lifts. Even with this year of undependable snow they are able to keep things going with their snow making and grooming. Gets really crowded on weekends. Best if you can get their during the week and lift tickets are more of a "bargain". Very expensive, lift tickets are $126 a day. And be prepared for the $20 hamburger and fries too. But thats the cost of skiing in this area.

My wife and I came up from NJ to ski at Killington for the first time. I had made reservations for ski lessons, paid for the lessons and lift tickets before we came up. Unfortunately, I just got bronchitis and can not go. My wife emailed the resort before our scheduled lesson and called them. After a 30 minute wait on the call, we left a call back number and NEVER got a return call or even email. I just wanted to give notice and possibly reschedule to later in the week to allow meds to kick in. Very disappointed that our call and email went unanswered. Want my money back...

Killington/Pico Resort offers the best quality machine-made snow and grooming in the northeast. As the following photos show, the conditions are great. Come play in the snow in Vermont!

The Mountain Ambassadours offer tour of the mountain each morning. Was a great way to see what's there, since it was my first trip. Our guide, Tammy, kept us on runs that challenged us without being over our heads. Also gave history of the place.

I was seriously hurt on an attraction that left me out
Of work for 5 months and plates and screws and not only did they not respectfully handle the situation not one person has reached out to see how I was. I will never go back there.

Best Mountain for the summer or winter
Best Terrain
Best People
Best Snow making
Well worth the trip for an extended weekend

The skiing is amazing. The employees, however, jerks! Not all, one lady was so kind to my son who lost a glove it really touched me. But the constant mask nagging? Unreal. They play this insulting reminder every 5 minutes with this nasty guy telling you how disappointed "the beast" is because you only have your mask over your mouth and not nose. Height of "Bernie bro" arrogance. See this in light of the fact that everyone was doing fine with masks, after all it is cold so you physically needed one. Distancing? Also not an issue. If some creep isn't yelling at your children to mask up, they are your standard VT antisocial screwballs. Its not a place that treats people well. No respect for the consumer in this equation and I'm not going there again. It really took the joy out of it.

Take K1 up and take the catwalk a FPS then take E trail. It is steep and rocky in places, but the view was worth it. Highly suggest good hiking footwear and maybe a hiking stick. Trails were well marked it’s about 90 minutes to get down.

The Killington trails, terrain and lifts are great. The number of twenty something snowboarders skiing out of control is terrifying. Yesterday I witness an experienced middle age female skier who was taking her time skiing down a green trail get slammed into by a twenty something snowboarder. He didn't even stop to check to make sure that she was okay! There was no ski patrol around. Several people stopped to make sure she was okay. I reported this to a concierge at the bottom of the mountain, but she didn't seem to be too concerned. If you choose Killington, be careful of the snowboarders! Some of the them appear to be drinking alcohol on the lifts on their way to the top!

Stayed at the Highridge Condominiums on the mountain and down the road from the heart of the area which was just fine! Clean, cozy and quite affordable during the off-season. All the amenities of home and more in Unit J6, only wish the bed was queen instead of a full, but comfortable. Couldn't a good fire going, but small issue...they supply you with the firewood!

We skied at Killington over President's Day week. Our son went to the Friendly Penguin day care and loved it. The employees were very kind and the facility was great. I would definitely return next year.

Boy oh boy where do I start.

10 of my friends and I stayed near the resort for 3 days in the mid-2018 season. What a treat! As a novice skier, there were ample trails open at the time despite a lack of precipitation. The facilities are quality - with several lifts to different sections of the mountain. For ski breaks, there is a mid mountain lodge that serves some drinks (you know the beer kind ;) ;) ;))

Overall - this is a fun mountain with good trails for novice skiers and intermediate skiers alike. While every "experienced" skier will compare to a midwest mountain, this is a great mountain in the east. Recommended for fun, skiing, snow men, snow angels, and beating up nerds who like to Tube. (Jk tubing is fun)

Killington is a family friendly resort with plentitde of challenging trails. Skiers of different abilities can find their favorite run and enjoy it tremendously.
The warmer Bear mountain side is a perfect spot to start or end your day of skiing in Killington.

There is no equal for a great day of fun and fast trails. The resort is huge so there is something for everyone. Buy tix early to get the best deal.

I bought 3 days of classes and lift tickets for my two daughters. After traveling all the way from Florida, we arrived to a frustrating situation — definitely not what anyone expects on vacation.

When we went to pick up our lift tickets, the customer service representative rudely informed me that there had been an error and that two of my lift tickets would be canceled electronically. She told me that if I still wanted them, I would need to buy them at full price. This was completely different from what I was told on the phone, and the receipt I had clearly stated the promotion details — there was no room for misunderstanding.

I asked to speak with a supervisor, and unfortunately, the response was just as poor, if not worse. The supervisor was equally rude, refused to offer any clear explanation, and even cut me off. I was asked to walk away and was told to pay almost $400 more, as if it were nothing.

While the mountain, lifts, and ski classes were decent, I visited in mid-March and found the snow conditions lacking. There was no fresh snow, and most of the area was covered in just compacted ice that was melting quickly, with pools of water everywhere.

Furthermore, their ski equipment rental is outrageously expensive. You can easily rent gear just a few minutes’ drive away for a third of the price.

In conclusion, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had in the U.S. I would not recommend this company to anyone and will certainly not be returning. Keep this in mind, especially if you're planning to travel from far away.

First time skiing here. It’s ok. It is a little late in the season, and snow cover is not too bad but very thin to non existent in a couple of patches. Many of the runs are closed - not sure if this is due to poor or too little snow.
A few of the runs are great - nice wide pistes and not too many people! Nice long run right down to the bottom and then a little relax on the gondola back up!!

Killington ski camps are a rip-off. $500 for a camp on a very short converted terrain park. 150 people waiting up to an hour and a half to ski. Since people got very cold waiting and so many people in a small area made it very icy and dangerous. Sure enough, some got badly hurt and carried off by ski patrol sled. Even the instructors were complaining. Killington made a lot of $$$ on this camp but didn't seem to care about the paying skiers' experience or safety. This is not the way to build a good reputation.

I am writing this review after several attempts via phone and email to get a refund.

I purchased a 3 day lift ticket prior to coming up to Killington Mountain and fully expected to ride all of the days. Unfortunately, I was injured on the first day. I ended up riding the second day but made a decision to not go on the third day. When I called to get a refund I was told that after 10 AM they can only give a voucher for a lift ticket to come back. I explained that I was going to try to go but I couldn’t and made a late decision, then asked if they could see I didn’t go. They told me they could see I didn’t go but their system wouldn’t allow a refund.

I explained there is no guarantee I would come back within 54 weeks, but they said they would not refund it. I think it’s terrible customer service to not refund someone’s money that did not receive the service/experience that was paid for. I spent a lot of money to come up, at restaurants, retail shops, etc. while I was in town.

After this experience, I would not visit Killington Mountain again but instead would go to another mountain where I have experienced exceptional customer service.

Great place the beast is still the place I remembered as a child, huge and as challenging as you make it. My wife and daughter have never skied, I skied a lot as a child into my twenties and my wife wanted my daughter to experience skiing at a real resort. Great times, did the Elan Program in which you have four days of lessons and after the third day you receive brand new Elan skis and bindings free. Ask for Eric Ashley as an instructor great human being and of course great instructor!!!!

The fall is a great time to visit Killington. So many trails to hike and adventures to have. Make sure you take a trip all the way up to the tippy top. The views and pine smell are like no other.

all of the employees are very friendly. All of the staff help us to get where we needed to go. We especially liked our ski lessons with Gary, he was an excellent instructor. He was very patient with us and he made sure that we felt safe to ski.

The children’s ski school was also impressive, all of our kids were able to ski Competently by the end of the day. Our little one loved the ministars program and was excited to go back!!

The condo we rented was in great shape, shuttles and parking are very convenient

Went here on the very last weekend of February and little did we know, that would be the final weekend it would be open because of the looming pandemic. We had a blast! As a newbie snowboarder, I am very happy to have had the opportunity to come here. The conditions were top-notch! I must've snowed at least three inches of fresh powder that day. It was spectacular. I had gone to college up in Vermont, but never had come here before and friends and family had told me so much about it over the years. Easily beats the pants off of a lot of the New England ski resorts...at least the ones I have been to. I hope the pandemic dies down enough for the mountain to reopen for the 2021 ski/snowboard season.

You must take the gondola to the Peak Lodge! Whether you are there to ski or just take in the scenic views. Get there early and grab one of the sofas. You can get a cup of coffee or a cold beer and just soak it all in! The food is decent, we enjoyed the fries. The staff is constantly cleaning up making this lodge a step above what one might expect in a ski lodge. It is clean, comfy, warm and a must!

Love skiing here. Combining two mountains to make extra long trails are well worth my time and money and the long drive.

If you like ski or hiking o mountain r biking this is the best place in north east
Killington was a place one time for winter Olympics for ski I believe,
Killington has many different area for every different levels for ski lovers even for kids that is amazing.

You can rent or use your own
There is place to eat and drink, you can bring your own or you can sit at the cafe and buy your drinks
I think they should have a real hot chocolate in this place not from the machine , it’s very cheap and not good don’t waste your money for that.

And if you want to go up ride is $150.00
Little pricey. For more question you can ask to help center in there please

I had perfect conditions on a lovely Tuesday afternoon, no crowding or congestion on the trails nor lifts. It was a perfect day. Also such a good variety of trails!

By Thomas G |

A great week of skiing! No crowds No lift lines plenty of snow! Only thing sky ship
Gondola closed I guess lack of skiers! But a great time staff was so courteous and helpful ! Food was excellent at K1 peak. Don’t miss it! Everyone was so helpful. Perfect spring ski conditions! No traffic great ride from NJ . Will go back! Can’t wait to conquer that mountain again!

By Julie T |

The mountain is great and despite the snow being patchy when we first arrived we still managed to get some great skiing in thanks to the valiant efforts of the snow making team. The base lodges however are looking really tatty and in desparate need of some renovation.

Killington is everything you have heard about...vast and varied terrain. I was impressed with the efficiency of the lifts especially with the usage restrictions in place. Everything from easy greens to some super steeps, this place has what you are looking for.
