So we did it!!! Not only did we purify ourselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka - we did it on Prince's birthday!! If you are a Prince fan - do it! If you love nature - do it!
The water in June was very comfortable. Honestly, I was expecting an ice bath - but it was really pleasant. Didn't even need to dry off after, it was so warm out. The scenery is gorgeous and just up the road you will find a cute little convenience store where you can enjoy some ice cream - no shoes required! :)

We are so relaxed when we visit our family in Eagan, MN. Our favorite thing to do together is pontooning around Lake Minnetonka. It's the most perfect place to relax. It has restaurants to get to via docking, plenty of wildlife, great areas to anchor and swim, and the people are so friendly. I absolutely love it!

Wonderful cruise on the lake today! Worth every penny! Great narrated tour. Will bring a group of friends next time or reserve a charter for a special occasion.

The regional park has a divine pool from lake Minnetonka where you can spend a completely day under ones of many umbrellas and play on the pool in adición has a park for kids and bicycle trail plus they have a boat ramp for those who have a boat or kayak

I think the mosquitoes have been trained by our military...ingenious. Right George? However.. a beautiful place with proper attire.

Definitely a place to visit in Minnesota. Nice park to walk around, beautiful small town with nice restaurants. Try the COV, a nice one. The Grocer‘s table is a nice coffee too. You can get wonderful dishes as well.

This is a beautiful lake with gorgeous homes surrounding it. Currently, flood conditions have a no wake policy on the lake so boats are going very slow. We were told that most of the flooding should subside by August so things will be back to normal. There was some fishing going on from docks and a few out in boats. Not sure how successful they were, but that did not stop anyone. Would love to go back when the Lake was at normal water level.

Our business group rented a pontoon for the afternoon. Lake Minnetonka has lots of big, beautiful homes. It's a terrific place to relax, enjoy the sun and swim.
About:
Lake Minnetonka is an inland lake located approximately 15 miles west-southwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota. it is Minnesota's ninth largest lake and is popular among boaters, sailors, and fishermen. It is also one of Minnesota's most affluent residential areas.

I feel like a visit to Lake Minnetonka when you're in Minneapolis is a must! We rented a private boat for a bachelorette party and had a blast. Water was cold, but refreshing.

Lake Minnetonka is an enormous lake just 15 minutes due west of downtown Minneapolis. It has numerous bars and restaurants and is anchored by two beautiful quaint towns called Wayzata and Excelsior. The lake is one of the most popular in our area for fishing, water skiing, boating, sailing and general recreation. Numerous locations offer charter boat rentals of all sizes. You can have a small intimate group or parties for well over 100 including food and bar service on the boat. This is a fabulous way to entertain or have a special event like a wedding or a corporate meeting. A number of the waterside restaurants have large patios and these are places where I often take out-of-town guests. The views and the ambience cannot be beat.

We visited Paisley Park and since this day was dedicated to Prince, we HAD to get to Lake Minnetonka!! In lieu of purifying ourselves, we were going to dip our toes, but since it’s declared infested, we thought we’d pass!! 😂😂😂 I thank God for this beautiful and glorious day!! The waters were absolutely beautiful!!

This is a great lake that has all kinds of attractions. There is islands to explore, places to fish. areas to jet ski, channels to ride, places to board, and landscapes to enjoy. You can even enjoy driving around the lake to take in the different houses that showcase great architecture and design. Take in a dinner at many of the different places to eat along the shore. Take a cruise on a romantic getaway boat. Just lay on the beach and catch some rays. There is all kinds of things to do and see.

I attended a bridal shower this summer at a home on the shore of Lake Minnetonka. It was a gorgeous day with a cold front pushing the rain and humidity out and leaving a clear day. We spent the day on the deck so we had great views.
Lake Minnetonka cores 14,528 acres and is actually Minnesota’s ninth largest lake! Hard to believe it is sitting at #9 when you fly over it! Really beautiful, but the roads, especially in Mound, can get very congested with boaters on a Saturday. Plan ahead!

New Years Day, 2014 was spent ice fishing with my twelve year-old son, his two friends and their dads in a comfortable 8-hole ice house rented for 6 hours at a cost of $150 through Todd at setthehookguide.com. The price included rods & bait (wax worms and minnows), with Todd even taking the time to explain all the ins and outs of ice fishing and also the house amenities. Even with a wind chill of well below zero, the furnace kept us toasty and happy. Very comfortable house. We were happy to have paid an extra $25 for the use of an underwater camera (what a blast). We caught 45 sunfish (about half of them eating size, though we practiced catch and release).

Beautiful and peaceful lake close to Minneapolis, just a strolling around the lake will make your day happier! Beautiful houses and green open spaces to enjoy.

It is as amazing lake !!!! Just to go around the border and look at that landscape, this huge houses just looked as painted or a fairytale…. Nice !!! You must go when you there

We went out on our friends' boat on Lake Minnetonka for the weekend. It was the most beautiful lake in the land of 10,000 lakes! We went without the kids and learned to wake surf, visited some nice restaurants in the area, and enjoyed our couples time with long-time friends! It's the kind of place you dream of on a long, cold winter's day to help you get through.

We lived on Lake Minnetonka for 30 years. We are always amazed every time we revisit. Lake Minnetonka is rich in Minnesota history. The lake is one the greatest fishing lakes if not the greatest in all of North America. (pan fish, Bass...really known for the great bass fishing. Great boating lake. Many beaches to swim. The proximity to Mpls. is very close.

I went jet skiing on Lake Minnetonka and it was beautiful and peaceful. I liked seeing the houses on the lake (wish i had one on the lake!) Fun in the summer time for sure.

Lake Minnetonka is a huge lake. It has boat rides, fishing and beautiful views. There is an art Show holed at the lake during the summer. And the quaint town of Excelsior, Minnesota, is a great place to walk around, eat and visit the little shoppes.

Nice, clean lake. Smaller than anticipated still worth the visit if in the Minneapolis area. Boaters and fishing on the lake that day.

On a recent visit to the Twin Cities we decided to visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art. It isn’t hard to find but due to a lot of construction in the area, it took us a while to get there. The museum is free and there is parking (not free) is just to the south of the main building. I used our credit card to get in the parking garage, and when you do it this way you just use your card to exit – no ticket, despite the somewhat confusing signs. It looked like street parking was scarce, and other TA reviews seem to confirm this. The museum itself is terrific in my opinion. We spent half a day and barely scratched the surface of this huge place. There is a very nice gift shop and a deli on the first floor with art on the upper floors. We went to the 3rd floor, spent about an hour looking at the art, then got coffee and a mid-afternoon pastry at the deli (Agra Culture MIA Café). We didn’t have any kids with us on this visit but it looked like a pretty kid-friendly place, with a lot of thing that kids would find interesting and fun. Will definitely go back if we have the opportunity.

I was here on a boat trip on the Minnehaha. Boaters can admire the huge mansions of the wealthy along the shore. We left from Excelsior, one of the largest lake towns. Most of the towns around Lake Minnetonka are very small.. There are many restaurant options for hungry diners around the lake. Within the last few years, bicycling to the lake has become much easier. Those coming from the west can take the Dakota Rail trail from Lester Prairie.to Wayzata. I have biked the very flat trail. Those coming from the east can bicycle the gravel Luce Line Trail to Wayzata. The Lake Minnetonka LRT trail takes visitors from Hopkins to Minnetonka, Shorewood and Excelsior. If you plan to take a cruise or visit one of the many restaurants around the lake, plan on a couple of hours to enjoy the lake, eat and maybe shop. Very limited bus service is available on weekdays. Metro transit routes 670, 671, 645, and 677 run to Lake Minnetonka. The 645 route also runs to Wayzata on weekends.

The area was beautiful. We chose this particular lake to visit on vacation because of the two young children in our party. This lake has a swim pond which was perfect. The area around the pond is a sandy beach. There are lifeguards, a limited concession stand, restrooms and showers. The cost is $5 per person and a wristband is then worn by each visitor.

This lake is absolutely beautiful with picture perfect scenery. Yacht clubs, beautiful homes, picturesque views satisfy any visitor.

Every year as part of a business meeting, a group of us take a dinner cruise on the lake. It offers beautiful views of great homes, lovely trees and it's fun to watch the locals out on the water.

The lake is large enough that you can cruise all day on the boat watching the beautiful homes on the shores. We stopped for lunch and swimming and then it was time to go back so fast.

Enjoyed the lake, the people watching, and all the nature at hand! Minnetonka is the name of the Lake, the name of the town, and the name of the Moccasin company there that we have grown to love! We also spent another day here, while in the area, fishing off the dock but no big catch; just small ones for us!

This is a huge lake, with many nooks and crannies. We depended on GPS via cell phone. So my advice before going boating would be to have a full charge before you leave the pier.

Awesome awesome awesome! Friends took me out for a day on Lake Minnetonka in August 2017. Had great day going from portage to portage, swimming and being dragged behind the power boat on a rubber tube. One of the hidden gems of Minneapolis! You've got to try it for sure.

I rented the boat on FishingBooker with Joe Pucel with all equipment included and it was very worth it, good fishing between father and son
Lake Minnetonka is absolutely amazing. In addition to the shopping and shore side restaurants, the houses on the lake are breath-taking. Multi million dollar homes line the lake, while large yachts roam the waters.
