The lake is beautiful. It's clean and the water is clear. The scene is just breath taking. I tell everyone you haven't been to a lake till you've been to Lake Mojave. Only thing is you need to have a boat to take a group out or else your stuck on the shore line and there are very few spots available to do so

Lake water temperature is about 78-80 degrees on the beaches. We love to find a cove and make a camp to have a peaceful day. Kids enjoy using goggles to look for fish and odd items on the bottom of the clear lake.

It is very relaxing not crowded. Quiet and exciting time on the boat and using the jet ski's. We picnic out there and spent the day.

This lake is spectacular! We rented a speed boat (the boat we rented was old and dinghy but ran good) there was so much to see!! The water was a clear as the Caribbean I swear! I highly recommend going if you are new to seeing lakes on the west coast. I was blown away

We rented a fishing boat for $50 for 4 hrs. It was great. Loved to just cruise the lake and found coves all over the place to have your own place to stop and play in the water. Brought a picnic and it was so quiet and peaceful. The water was so clear and not too cold. We saw fish jumping out of the water, which was really cool. Will be doing this again.

I lived in the area for over 10 years and this lake was my play ground... Own a jet ski or boat you have got endless coves to explore or camp from... This like any lake has it's share of issues fishing is fair at best... peak summer weekends it a zoo! So plan on Zoo like water conditions and ramp issues!

We rented a boat and enjoyed the lake. It is beautiful! Nice day away from the gambling in Laughlin.

The shop also closed and since it is a little remote, there is nowhere to eat or drink, Spectacular setting though, and boat activities.

We went right after the holiday rush. There are so many nice coves to spend time in. We did that, and just flopped in the water. Water is really nice and clear.

We're been to lake Mojave dozens of times over the years. We use to bring our boat out on the lake but we now rent a boat. The lake is huge and has room for tons of boaters. The Marina is well setup and everything you need.

We hiked to the southern reaches of Lake Mohave from Laughlin. On arrival you realise how picturesque and remote this beautiful lake is.

awesome lake - many, many coves etc to hang out in - highly recommended - tip is don't go with non-mufflered boats anymore - your boat will be banned from the lake and this may of course ruin an otherwise great trip. You can stay in an air-conditioned casino room (I do NOT recommend the Riverside resort) at night, and then you can do the lake during the day, cooling off during the day by jumping in the lake, of course.

I went to school in Las Vegas. Being from Hawaii the water (read: ocean) is a important recreational area for me. We tried going to Lake Mead, but it's not really a play-in-the-water type area.
When asking about better places to get in the water a friend recommended Lake Mohave. After the Lake Mead experiences I as skeptical. Boy, was I wrong!
The access area is about halfway between Las Vegas and Laughlin. The road leading off of the highway is pretty long. Be ready for that. And there are no services at the site. Bring everything you need.
As long as you're prepared this is a great site. The water is very clean (for a lake). I went during the Summer, so the water temperature was comfortable to warm. There were some fish. Although the sandbar is small, it was nice to just hang out on the "beach."
I marked that there "are" bathroom facilities. There are port-a-potties.
Once we knew about the area we went back multiple times. If I still lived in the area we would be there often.

As much as I love Lake Mohave, they are rebuilding the roads, sidewalks, boat ramps and parking areas, lots of stop and go, flagmen, temporary stop lights and the roads are very rough, especially if you are pulling a boat, except long delays, long walks from parking areas and delays mooring and unloading your boat. Construction to go on till Nov 1st 2016

Not too busy this weekend, found a great cove for all of our party. Will be back in a couple of weeks.

I have been coming to this place since I was a child. It's so much fun there is swimming and boating. They have boat rentals there and also a hotel.

a pretty good value for your money and the lake is calmer as oppose to the river as well as being a lot warmer. A nice place to scuba dive, jet ski or just lay on a floatation device.

this a beautiful fun cool place to hang out when the sun is hot, the water is always cold and the atmosphere of everyone having a great time is what keeps me going again and again

Perfect place to jet ski. Only problem if its busy good luck finding a beach that you can put them. They are crowded. We search along time to find a very small place. Its a beautiful lake and water is so blue. Its kind of expensive because it a national park. You have to pay for both jet skis and then of course to get in. If you plan on going back pay for the yearly pass. It was funny watching everyone trying to lift there boats out of the water. In fact that was the best part of the day. Its very hard for people to put the boats back on there trailer. Its a good things people are willing to help other people or there would be death by stress.

Great Lake.. Water 77' and Clear, All the things are there that you can rent as well.. and a little store.. Docks are really good for more then one day on the Lake...

Nicely maintained and clean. I recommend anyone visiting the Hoover Dam to visit. It is breathtaking.

beautiful lake that starts at the base of Hoover dam and is approximately 60 miles long ending at Davis dam just above Laughlin/Bullhead. But I have to warn you that they are doing construction on the roads into Kathryn's landing. They have made a mess of the roads and the parking lots. I will not take my boat back to Kathryn's until they have cleaned up this mess that they have made.

We have been coming here annually for over 10 years.
The resort is under new ownership. The restaurant was really good when the old owners were in charge. Whoever bought the place has redone the restaurant, changed the logo, and changed their food supplier, because the food was much worse quality. The lake is still awesome and we use their boat slips every time we come here, we always have a blast on the river.
If any of you come here to relax, I highly recommend the coves dotted around the lake. Some are really large, perfect if you have multiple boats/jetskis. We normally come in the large coves with 4 ezups and 20+ people. They work great for large groups. There are some restrooms on the river that float. They were closed when we were there. What a jewel that’s about 15 minutes from Laughlin. I do not recommend their motel. We normally stay in one of the casino resorts in Laughlin.

We camped at Telephone Cove for 7 nights. It's an incredible and magical place to stay. The kayaking was awesome and fishing not bad. There is no organized camping, pit toilets and garbage dumpster. Hiking in the desert was beautiful and cactus just starting to bloom. Road in was graded recently so it was a nice surprise. One of our favourite places to camp.

Worth the trip to this beautiful lake. We stopped here on the way to the Grand Canyon from Los Angeles. Refreshing to take a swim in this clean lake and wasn't too crowded during the weekday.
I brought my kids with the youngest at 7 and it was shallow enough for them to play in the water even though they are non swimmers.
Driving terrain can be a bit rough on the unpaved roads. Overall great experience and highly recommend it.

My family and I have been visiting Lake Mohave for 11 years now. Every year we rent a ski boat, and along with our wave runners, head out to one of the hundreds of sandy coves. The water is crystal clear and if you visit anytime after June, the water temp is usually in the mid-70's or higher. The air temperature heats up, but be careful of fast moving monsoonal moisture, which can occur at any time. We launch at Katherine's Landing, which has a restaurant, restrooms and a great little general store, in case you forget anything. A great family lake, with none of the huge racing boats they have over at Lake Havasu. We take our food out there with us, set up our easy-up, along with Frisbees, fishing gear, wiffle ball equipment, plus some snorkels and masks and can spend the entire day there. We look forward to our trip every year!

we tried both places on Lake Mohave...there is a lot of driving to get to the beach and then to the nice picnicking sites further up but well worth it as a beautiful place to lounge with nice rock formations, clear water, beach seems a bit rocky but with bathrooms closeby too.there is a park fee of 10.00 good for 7 days there is also a store...in the warmer weather this place would likely be crowded unfortunately there was a cold snap when we went but we enjoyed it anyways bundled up with layers of clothing .....

Lovely golf course. Some very difficult holes, lost a few balls but enjoyed the round. Cost of golf club hire, green fee and buggy very reasonable, Deals to be had if you booked through your hotel. Club house had good range of souvenirs but shop part was shut when we finished our round and bar tender wasn't allowed to sell them. Missed opportunity? definitely worth another visit when we are back in the locale

Too much action on the river in the summer with all of the waverunner renters blasting around with accidents waiting to happen. I have owned a boat for years and have been on both the river and the lake. The lake by far is the place to be to have a nice relaxing day. You can travel for miles and you have your choise of bays that you can sneek into. The lake can get windy at times and in the summer the weather can get very hot. Its fun to go to the boat launches and watch the arguments that happen because of inexperienced boat launchers and people who hang on the ramp to long. You can rent most any kind of boat at Katherins. Your entry fee is good for many days.

Went to Telephone Cove Searchlight. The river was clean great spot to swim BBQ hang out. My grandkids loved it. We rented a boat drove around the river so refreshing and fun.

We rented (2) jet skis while on vacation, beautiful scenery. Make sure you check the condition of the water, it was very choppy the day we went. Should have rented for a couple of hours instead of all day. Nice time.

Bring shade! You will get plenty of sun but not much shade. The boat ramp is easy to navigate and the dock side store is affordable for those last minute supplies. We were surprised by the cost, $20 for multiple days but no lower price for a day trip. We visited the lake on our last day so we weren't able to use the multi day pass we were required to purchase. We had a good time and will visit again, more prepared!

This is an amazing lake to visit all year round for boating, fishing and watersports, but in the warmer months it's also the best place for swimming and cooling off. with lots of great, secluded coves and little beaches, it's perfect! Make sure to bring lots of sunscreen and water and go find a great spot for the day..or weekend!

Best show ever got to see it and enjoyed jet skiing on the river food and gambling was great the hotel edgewater was real great

We had a family group of 30 people ranging in age of 12 to 72. We rented 3 houseboats from Cottonwood Cove. We had 2 ski boats and 3 wave runners. We had a fantastic time. The employees of Cottonwood Cove drove ahead of us and found a cove big enough to accommodate 3 large houseboats, they were so friendly and helpful the entire trip of 5 days. The only things we didn’t like were the rocky shore and the 109 degrees of heat.

Cost to get in with truck and boat for the day was $26, but we had 5 people and had a great time. For a less crowded launch, try Princess or Telephone Cove.

After spending too many days watching boats go up and down the river while sitting in the casinos at Laughlin, my husband and I used some of those winning dollars to buy ourselves a boat and ride on the river all day/gamble all night. But after just a few visits on the river itself, where we felt over-run, beat half to death by the choppy water and just not into the cold water of the river, we decided to check out Katherine Landing and Lake Mojave. We were completely hooked! Although the launch at Katherine can sometimes be very congested, if you time your launches and pull outs just right there is really not too much hassle. The lake itself is a sight to behold! Lots and lots of secluded coves to skinny-dip in...I mean explore, the open basin as you head north towards Cottonwood Cove, the rocks to climb and even wild life (not the skinny dippers, but real critters). It has been our experience that the boaters tend to be mostly families; we have run across a few "Yahoos", (and everyone needs to be a Yahoo once in a while), but not nearly in the numbers you'd see towards the Sand Bar or Lake Havasu. Don't get me wrong, we love a visit or two to those places each summer, but it's the easy going attitude that draws us back to Lake Mohave summer after summer. If you're looking for a place to boat where you very seldom need to worry about letting your kids tube without them getting run over by other boaters who may not be paying attention to other boats, this is definetly the place to go!

Travel tip: google - Riverside Casino Laughlin flights
Riverside Casino has a fantastic flight and room getaway- cost for 2 300.00 , check it out. Flight packages from all over USA

This is an awesome lake to bring your family. Big enough to find your own little cove and hangout. It's close to the Casinos which makes it a plus. You have the day and night ife.

Didn't go down to the lake, but the view was spectacular. I hear that there are many coves that you can beach your boat for a day picnic.

Love to bring the family to this lake they love it is so clean and fun and adventurous . Only bad thing I can say is that the July weather this year was horrible storms and rain, we might have to come back in August.

Loved our cove's beach with actual sand and not just rocks! Lots of boats, seedo's, and other water toys but everyone was respectful and having a blast!

Went to the lake while on our trip. The Colorado river fills this lake at the Davis Dam...very fun and very refreshing while in the middle of the desert

A great place to boat water ski and swim. But please do so with caution! Take water and sunscreen. Let someone know your plans! It's a big lake and there isn't much cell coverage if ya have a break down. Unless ya know the area well, be cautious of water hazards near the points and shore. The winds will pickup quickly and ruin your plans..... the waves and chop can get severe quickly.
We usually put in at Cottonwood Cove and travel either direction. Make sure ya have some type of shade the sun is brutal! Holiday weekends are worth SKIPPING, just too many boats trying to launch and too many on the lake.
Know your limits and have fun.

We rented jet skis from Dave's Jet Ski Rental in Bullhead City and had a blast. Dave recommended going to the lake rather than the river and we loved it. So many fun bays and coves to explore. Water was a little cool but really refreshing. Got to even pull the jet skis in to a sandy beach and relax and do some yoga!

I started vacationing on Lake Mojave in 1989 and absolutely love it! Of course the only other lake on the Colorado river that I've been to is Havasu, and Mojave beats it by a million points. Mojave is huge and explorable with dozens of private or semi-private coves all along it. I've seen big horn sheep, donkeys, chuckwallas, great blue herons, whiptail lizards, and western and pied bill grebes. This last trip we saw tiny squirrels that look exactly like chipmunks that I didn't even know were out there. This is a great place for nature lovers. Just don't have any dealings with Katherine's landing if you can at all avoid it, and you'll have an awesome time!

I thought we were going to find the campground overrun with campers, but there were only three other sites taken. The campsites are well maintained, the restrooms clean and campers quiet. The lake was beautiful and the weather perfect. Would definitely recommend it to folks who like to get away from crowds.

I liked Katherine's Landing and the boat rentals and the lake and beach. It is only about seven miles from Laughlin a must see.

If you enjoy boating without the wild crowds, this is the place. Good family spot. The area also offers many hotels, casinos, and restaurants in nearby Laughlin.

This lake is located at the northern end of Laughlin NV/Bullhead City AZ. Great area with lots of amenities to offer. There are a couple of campground options and boat launch areas. You'll find every type of water craft making use of this lake. Katherine Landing offers campsites and cabins. It's a very short drive into Laughlin for casinos, shopping, dining and nightlife. The Colorado River flows out of this lake ( created by Davis Dam) and there is a lot of activity on the river as well. You can boat all the way down the river from this area to Lake Havasu. The trip takes you through a beautiful gorge ( topock gorge)

The hotel could use a nice "spring" cleaning and updating. The curtains were older with holes. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint. For what I paid I expected a little better.

Lake Mojave is great for all water activities. Many families with children enjoying the warm water of the lake.
The only problem I have had is occasionally some boats enter the boat-restricted area of Telephone Cove. A boater narrowly passed my children swimming. When I pointed to the boater that no boats were allowed, he shouted some profanities and ignored. He sounded drunk, so I didn't want to escalate and ruin my family fun day.
I wish the rangers visit more often and enforce the no-boat rule. That's really the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars.

Great boating access from Katherine's Landing (avoid weekends if possible- delays due to crowds).
Check out access from Telephone Cove.

Laughlin for fun. Many trips under my belt. So much to do and see. Try it for fun, and relaxation. So friendly..

This is a huge lake
We rented a couple of slips for a 4 day extended weekend
We were able to keep everything in the water all weekend
Ride out, find a beach, and have fun
Awesome views of the countryside and great people

This lake is so beautiful. We love to kayak here so the loud boats are little annoying. When they are not around it is very peaceful.

This lake is only minutes away from Laughlin. So it's really easy to pack up and go play on the lake. The water is beautiful with lots of private coves. We always have a great time.

We rented speed boat from Kathryns Landing marina. The lake and surrounding scenery are gorgeous. The water is clear and there are secluded little beaches along the shore. We'll definitely do this again.

We went there several summers ago when we were there with our adult kids. We rented a pontoon type boat and toured the lake. It was great!

There are plenty of coves if you want to be away from other people. You can spend the day and nights on your own beach. One time my wife and I were BBQing in a Cove and 3 donkeys came and joined us for for some of our food. We were happy they joined us as they were very friendly.

We rented a patio boat for our son's 21st birthday. Great customer service at Katherine's Landing (now Lake Mohave I guess). We got out on the water by 8am so we were able to get a great cove on the Nevada side of the river and spent all day having a blast! Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful scenery, would be great lounging on a pontoon! Fishing from the bank but beware-pretty steep in some spots and rocky. Fun!

loved the way it was set up and the fact that u can baith in itthe jet ske the river taxi the river ride, evrything was amazing

We have been coming here for years and is one of our favorite places to bring out the boat. We always stay in Laughlin and drive the boat out each day but never launching at Katherine’s. We alway drive out to Princess Cove. Less parking means less people. Although you still get the fool who invites all their friends, they have never been on a boat before and think that it’s ok to party with their cars parked down at the dock, so sometimes big weekends can be trying to get your boat/skis out.

If you want to spend a few days on the beach at Lake Mojave, don't leave anything on the beach when you leave because the Rangers (& the thugs) now consider your stuff abandoned if its unattended so therefore anyone can take your belongings and its not even considered stealing. Nice. We lost about $1000 worth of stuff last week and the Rangers wouldn't even call me back to file a report.

This is A great place to spend a hot day, a welcome oasis on the Colorado river, the beaches are a bit rocky but there is plenty of sand also, you can rent a variety of watercraft. The views are nice and wide open.

This is a beautiful lake and is local to us. For nine months it is peaceful and clean. We go kayaking, boating and fishing. When summer hits it's best to be off the lake by midmorning when the tourists hit. They tend to be large groups with very loud music and they don't clean up their trash. They can also be pretty dangerous on their watercraft. If you do stay out find a secluded cove to try to escape some of this.

We checked on the price of boat slips and also on renting a fishing boat for the day. It was too windy the day we went so could not go out on the lake.

Drove by parts of the lake to check out the area. Stopped at Katherine's Landing. Found out you don't need to pay the state park fee if you just want to see the lake. Instead take a right before the toll booth and there are two other "landings" where you can stop for free. Very pretty area.

If it wasn't for the lousy winding road or washboard you have to drive on to get to at Treasure Cove ( what the locals call it ) the camp ground is at the end of the road for those who want to dry camp (bring your own water) with a boat ramp and open beach for over a quarter of a mile with islands out in the middle of the cove with good fishing on the east side of the islands at night. Day time fishing was a bust over four days we caught 61 fishing including two 8lb channel catfish and a 3lb large-mouth bass. Only facilities are a couple of outhouse style restroom they come and clean up every morning, but if you are staying overnight beware of the coyotes, they will steal any food left out and howl all night, ducks are very friendly though.

Make sure you have a $300 deposit and it cost $120 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Find someone to rent for all day. They also have police on the Lake also. Safety first. The water is beautiful.

Uncrowded and great weather. No problem getting a slip and we had the beach to ourselves the first day.

We arrived fairly early , launched our boat, and headed for a cove with a beach. We found a perfect cove and beach to relax, swim, play, and have fun. Catherines landing is a great place to launch your boat from

My husband and I just returned from a trip based in LV; we traveled to the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion, as well as Hoover dam and Lake Mead - all great. It was our last day, and we were flying out that evening, and we decided to explore further down the Colorado to a marina on Lake Mohave. We drove through the desert, and about a mile from the lake, we could see the lake, but I didn't see anything else. We are just about there, and go around the turn, and there is this oasis- palm trees, hotel, marina with houseboats and people launching boats and jet skis. After lunch at the cafe, we spent the afternoon at the beach - the water was fabulous since temps were in the 100's, but dry. We would love to return and rent a houseboat for several days in the future.

We stayed in the hotels in Laughlin and drove to Lake Mojave with our Sea Doo a couple of times that week. We launched the Sea-Doo at Katherine's landing and had them meet us at the cove area we had chosen. The cove area we chose was only accessible by 4 by 4 vehicle which was really nice it was not crowded, super clean and the water was clear. I do recommend water shoes since there are small rocks in the lake that make it uncomfortable to walk into the lake. The lake water was Super warm due to the high temperature that week of 121-115 degree weather.
We payed for a vehicle pass and boat pass for the week since we were coming to the lake every other day that week.
Take trash bags to put your trash in to leave the areas clean. You will need a canopy or umbrella for shade and chairs to sit and a cooler for drinks to stay hydrated.

We ended up here by mistake on our way to Oatman town, we stopped and decided to rent jet skies which by the way were soooo cheap never seen it before. In my town it is $40 for 30 minutes ride, here it was 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. JUST $125 what a bargain. we enjoyed the place with some families around and it was not as clean since there was many people remember labor day weekend.

This use to be a wonderful lake, but it is soooo crowded. People leave their trash on the beaches. There are never any rangers around the marina and people drive like idiots throwing your boat against the dock with their wakes. Also no supervision at the launch ramp...so people just do what they want....take up two or three spots, ready their boats in the water on the ramp, cut in line, swim..it's a very tense time. And in the afternoon you can bet there will be at least one crash and/or a fight getting off the water. The docks could use some work, so be sure you have good bumpers. And now they are warning you about the toxic blue green algee in the water that can kill your dog and make you ill. And make sure you have a lock on your spare tire on your trailer....yep...it was stolen in the parking lot.

Great for boating camping fishing and offroading huge lake and remote to get at in most areas keeps it from gettin too overcrowded you can go a long long way on their 4wd/offroading trails get a map and fill up your tank or you will get lost or stuck.

Quieter then the river, though can be very busy at different times of year and events. Has marina, food, publc boat launch. Staff helpful and cheerful

If you are visiting a nearby town it is worth the visit. There is so much to do, and the sites are spectacular. Our day started out sunny, but even through a rainstorm we enjoyed it! Plus we got spectacular pictures just before the storm.

Came up here this weekend the water was not cold and the lake was not crowded. I'm used to long lines to launch the boat but there were none. Nice to come here in October!!

there is so much natural beauty in this area its hard to see it all. the water is beautiful and clean and alot of water sports.. fishing they say is very good also

The lake is big enough to spread out many people. The water is down but it is still fun. After October there is very few people but lots of fun to zoom around the lake.

We spent 3 days on the water in early September, 2018. The area was clean and the water was very nice. We had 11 friends and family using 2 boats. We rented boat slips at Katherine Landing, which was very nice and convenient.

Do not miss seeing Lake Mohave. Katherine's landing is a great place to SEE IT and experience an incredible waterfront lifestyle that you WILL NOT BELEIVE exists right in the middle of the desert! Think it is a National Park too! There is a small fee to enter to Launch your own boat there, Rent a boat or even a houseboat for the day or month, buy bait and other supplies, et al. The Restaurant was really really great with marina and mountain views. So nautical with giant grand boothes made of red leather. You felt like you were on a ship; everything was authentic and very interesting!

Colorado River and Lake Mohave water is clear and cold. Fee is required. Dirt roads to coves are washboard and dusty. Lake is excellent for boating and picnicking.

Lake Mohave was very fun. We rented a pontoon boat and took it out exploring for the day. It is a beautiful lake.

The lake is great. It has many sandy beaches to choose from. The water is clear but can get rough in the afternoon. We felt it was family friendly. The marina is busy with a relatively small boat ramp. No big deal but you may have to wait to launch your boat. We'll go back.

Would give a 5 but the fish weren't biting. We rented boats from the marina and found our own deserted beach the temps and weather were perfect in mid October.

Huge lake with lots of privacy. Cafe is standard fare. Only 4 miles from our home . Can boat all the way to Hoover dam

This lake is so clear, you can easily see the bottom 15 feet down, there are many things to see on and around this huge lake. Sandy beaches, the back of the davis dam, the sleeping warrior, camp grounds, a wrecked houseboat and many others. there are toilet facilities in many areas around the lake as well. the water is very cold but feels refreshing on a hot day.

Great options on boat rentals. Nice hotel on cite as well. After September the rates drop almost in half, Two night stay gets you a free boat for the day!

Like many Colorado River lakes the water is very warm in the summer. Just the way I like it! I recommend getting out on the water early to get a spot in one of the coves. Bring a land anchor as well as the regular one to keep put off shore. It can be very windy.

Spent the day scuba diving and seeing all the attractions underwater.....schoolbus, van, skeleton, wrecks, etc. Rocky beach - so bring your water shoes. Sun can be harse - so bring your umbrella/tarp/canopy. Bathrooms and trash cans near by. You can unload by the water, but than you have to park a short distance away.
No boats allowed nearby - so it is safe to swim, snorkel and scuba dive. Jet skis can come in slow and can only dock in one area.
Rangers come by a few times to check things out. All-in-all, it was a great day and we hope to go back!

Lake was Great, Had a great week if it wasnt for the low life thieves of bullhead city. donot keep anything in your car.

Was wonderful to see camping area we spent many days at when I was a child. $25 daily entrance fee was extravagant. We had a golden age pass, so we did not have to pay this outrageous daily fee. If we would have had to pay it, I would not have gone there. It was not crowded (probably due to the cost) which is always a bonus these days.

This by far is one of my most favorite lakes. The water is crystal clear and warm. On holiday weekends you are better off avoiding Katherine's Landing and launch a Princess or Telephone Cove. If you dont mind a little bit of a drive, you can launch at Cottonwood Cove to see a different side of the lake. If you launch here you must go up to Willow Beach. Beautiful cruise, it is pretty far so you might want to top of with gas at Willow Beach.

It was a 110 degrees when we stayed in Laughlin in June. The lake was close by, clean and cool. There were lots of coves to set up canopies and day camp in. Great for swimming and boating. We put in at Kathryn's landing. The boat ramp was a little small for the amount of traffic, but that was our only complaint about the lake.

Lake Mohave is a wonderful spot to cool off in the unforgiving summer heat. However, if you want a bit of privacy, it is best to rent a boat and find your own little cove.

I have been having a blast at lake Mohave for over a decade now. I cant wait for the weather to get warm so i can get back out on the water.

Make sure you get out on the water early because launch ramp and parking can get really busy on the weekend. It can get windy too

Because it flooded on Friday night, Saturday the main ramp was the only one open so it took about 1.5 hours to launch. Severe rainstorm we waited out but never saw sunlight once we went out.
Sunday BEEEEAUTIFUL! The lake is the perfect temperature, it is full of water, there was some boats out there but not crowded. As an old haunt, I realized how much I missed that lake and being on the water. Can't wait to go back!

The Mojave is a beatiful place to visit. I live in Las Vegas and I go here almost every weekend. It is a wonderful place to go to escape the heat with beatiful blue water, go fishin for small and big fish, and go hiking. It is great for kids and adults. Make sure to bring food, plenty of water, have lots of fun!

I enjoyed Lake Mojave for its beautiful clean water. Unfortunately Catherine's Landing is one a very few places to launch your boat. Parking is horrible, dock space is terrible and the ramp is not maintained or managed well. Once your on the lake and away from the crowds, its a pretty nice lake.

Everything...It is very hot so do not go in August EVER! Unless you own a boat. We found the area and the staff to be very nice and mellow. Good for swimming and low cost fun if you like sitting on a beach and relaxing. Why not? Rent a boat of sea doo for extra fun!

Much closer to Vegas than to Laughlin makes this a great half day trip from the Strip. You'll find cliff divers here as well as kayakers putting in and out. Not far from the El Dorado Canyon mining operation. Ask for directions to the diving area at the store. You don't need 4-wheel but you should be careful. When I was here there were some campers and kayakers. Just a real serene spot on the Lake (the Colorado, really). Really nice for swimmers.

Drove by the lake because at the time we went park was fixing to close - and in order to get in the 15 minutes of time (before closing) costs us the same as if it was ALL DAY

Part of Lake Mead National Recreation area. This is a great lake to hang out with family and friends. You can rent boats or jet skis.
We take out kayaks out here and there and just love it. Very clean.

Catherine Landing is being re-built from the docks to the entry roads. Caution needs to be taken, pack patience and go slow. The store is well-stocked; parking is horrendous - but, the lake is beautiful.

Stayed in Henderson, NV with my family for the Las Vegas experince. Met a local college guy and asked what I could do with my teenage boys around Las Vegas. After he laughed saying not too much he said do you like water and heights? We all said yes! And boy did we get a great tip from a "local". There is a place called Nelson's Landing. Directions:
• Take US-93 South / US-95 South leaving Las Vegas towards Boulder City
• Merge onto US-95 S / VETERANS MEMORIAL HWY toward SEARCHLIGHT / LAUGHLIN / NEEDLES and continue for approx. 10 miles,
• Turn LEFT on NV-165 and continue for 11. miles until you reach Nelson, NV.(look for a solar panel farm on 95 when you see that 165 is across from the solar farm)
• After you reach Nelson, NV, Continue on for 1.6 miles until you reach Nelson's Landing and scneic overlook circle. Go to the right of this over view you will see a dirt road on the right it will take you all the way to the water, very rough gravel and dirt road. I have an Odyssey Van no problem.Take it slow! Go all the way down and paradise! The water is so clear and you see the cliffs that people jump off of. WE had the best day ever just swimming and relaxing. It is safe there. There are park rangers there patroling. There is no alcohol allowed and are stiff fines if they catch you drinking. I didn't jump off the cliffs but enjoyed the free show of others jumping. Wow amazing! It's not illegal I asked the park rangers if you could jump off of any cliffs and he said yes. The one thing that is heart breaking is many people leave their trash all over the place and we did have a difficult time clearing an area for our site. It is such a beautiful place and I don't understand why people can't pick up after themselves. You need to wear river shoes of some type because the broken glass in some parts is terrible. Once you find your spot it is heaven especially the water is ice cold. They have a bathroom close by and the free shows are all day from those who dare to jump! The day we went we even got to see a car being pulled out of the lake the troopers thought there was a dead body in the car, but no it was insurance fraud. Was very interesting to see hazmat at work with the park ranger at work. This place is very isolated and it took us awhile to locate it. Good luck in finding it. It is well worth the hunt! Here it is for GPS locators Lat 35.70778

Always over crowded. Water levels are not always great. Too many skeedoos and not enough area for visitors.

Beautiful Lake and a nice view. We drove up to the area after a day of sightseeing. The dam there is Davis Dam and the road traveling over it is closed to traffic.

This is where we did our open water certification dives. I will not give out our location because I don't want it to get overcrowded like other spots. We had a great time on, in and under the water.

nice place close to Laughlin with inexpensive rooms. Good facilities for boating. Find a deep selcuded cove, set up camp and have great time

If you have read my review about the Aquarius, then you probably know that we have been going to Laughlin for years. This is our main lake to take our boat to. We have changed our main hotel, but not our main lake. The main lake is Lake Mohave. Unfortunately, the EXTREMELY DANGEROUS road to the marina was under construction. And it took 30 MINS. to get the heck out of there. Second, the cafe DID not have Dr Pepper. (which is MY favorite.) So we left the cafe. And lastly, the bigger the boat, the farther away they put you from your car. But other than that, our experience was extremely awesome!

With the influx of "personal watercraft" rentals in Bullhead and Laughlin, the number of accidents and close calls has reached a critical point. Sadly, several people have been killed and injured in the last couple of years.
Life on the launch ramps is dangerous.. lots of angry birds.

There is great spearfishing for carp near the dam. The water is very clear with about 30 feet visibility and I saw several schools of carp. You don't even need a boat to access it. Just park at the top and walk down the short, but little bit steep, trail.

We have camped out on Lake Mojave past 20yrs and theres always new unexplored coves to camp out in. Price is very reasonable and one can camp out on the lake atleast one week on one fee!! We have traveled 5 plus miles into the lake and even found a cove with an OUTHOUSE lol !!! As for the Romance well just use your imagination,,, being in a secluded cove , miles away from noisey nieghbors(i seem to draw these types) you and your lover laying down under the stars and moon with a bottle of wine and NO ONE WATCHING YOUR ACTIONS👍😉 😉 campfire and then you both,,,,, you know what im talking about right😍👍😉,,, WORD OF ADVISE,,, be careful NO Matter the circumstances, , twice ive had a SUPRISE 9 months later!!! 😊😅

Where else can you kayak under the full moon and be serenaded by wild burros and coyotes. Only in the Mohave Desert within the Lake Mead National Rec area of Lake Mohave. I kayak regularly from Davis Dam, Katherines Landing, Telephone Cove, Princess Cove, Cabinsite Cove, Carp Cove, Pot Cove, Cottonwood Cove, Willow Beach and the list goes on. Always a beautiful paddle.
I often swim under the newly re-established beach at Katherines where they have Dive-in movies in the summer. Check out their schedule.
Lake Mohave even has accommodations for boaters with disabilities. Yes, there are restroom on the lake that have ADA accessibility.
Always be cautious of the wind. I check NOAA before going out and pay attention to the flag warnings at Katherines. Sometimes the flags are not quickly handled at other coves. When kayaking be cautious of the boaters and wave runners that do not abide by no wake zones and staying there distance. Please pack it in, pack it out. I seem to have a never ending job of trying to clean up others trash each time we are out.

total of 12 people, 2 boats and 4 jet skis. Kids had loads of fun. had to leave the hotel by 6am to get a good spot on the lake. can barbecue and take beer glass or can, they have trash bags and recycle bags by the launch area. only two restrooms towards the end of the day they got messy tock clorox wipes and room spray.

Water is warm and comfortable, there's a place to picnic. Lake Mojave is long, I am talking about the Lake Mojave where you enter from Searchlight. So, when we're driving to Laughlin from Las Vegas, we pass this tiny town called Searchlight, there, by a small casino is a small street, you take that and it goes straight to our favorite spot in Lake Mojave. There are boats there you can rent. There's a place there to rent rooms, a restaurant/cafeteria, restrooms, etc.
You can picnic by the lake too. We love Lake Mojave.

I went here to celebrate father's day and I fell in love with the lake water is so clean and clear you can actually see lil rocks in the water I would do this again next time I would have to go earlier to get the good spot to bbq prolly in 4th of july looking forward again

We spent our first day on the river down at Laughlin. Skip the river and its strong current and drive ten minutes up the road and launch your boat out of Katherine's landing. Day pass is $26 and the lake is way calmer and warmer than down at Laughlin. Its a big lake so you can stay away from the novice jet skiers and find your own quiet cove.

Perfect playground for tubing, water skiing, cruising the lake, really all water sports! We started at Katherine's Landing and explored all the way to Cottonwood Cove. Water temp was great and a refreshing relief from the heat. Plenty of beaches if you travel up from the marina a bit.

We go there every summer to spend time with other friends who boat and jet ski. We love the lake, it's clean, the water temperature is refreshing but not cold and the beaches are flat, you can put chairs and tents on them (as opposed to Lake Mead).

This is a town that is a pass through on the way to Laughlin, NV. It has restaurants, shopping, gas stations, and hotels other than a casino.

I cant say enough how much this California Girl loves going to the River and visiting this Lake is just perfect! If you have a boat or water toys like jet ski's this is the place to go to if you have kids its just perfect, really!

This is a beatiful place to visit. Ls an amazing lake to visit all year round for boating, fishing and watersport. With lots of great. It is great for kids and adults. Make sure to bring food, have lots of fun!

We visit this beach every time we visit Lake Mohave. It's easy to get to and clean. It is a little rocky so booties will help. The water is clean and warm. Please clean up your trash and keep this place clean.

we went to the lake like we have done before. beautiful. clean and warm water.most of the other visitors were whole families having a great time.

The area is just post card beautiful! The water is crystal clear you can see to the bottom. Great coves and day and overnight spots to spend with family and friends . You can find many restrooms along the shores and even floating on the lake. We went snorkeling and was just amazed at the amount of fish we saw!

Awesome lake,, I take my 18ft open bow searay every chance I get,, fee is cheap and you pay by the week,, we go about 5 miles out and always find hidden coves to set up camp and just chill sometimes up to a week,, only draw back is when we decide to go ashore at the docks in Cathrine landing,, be careful because not all docks are for boaters, most are private or for the rentals,, it's safer just to pull your boat out and go to town to gamble lol,, water temp is nice most of the year,,,

My husband and I went to a three-day trip to Laughlin & Grand Canyon last weekend. On the first day, we visited Laughlin.
We were reading user reviews at tripadvisors and travel guide books and we decided to go to two places in Laughlin on the first day: Davis dam and Lake Mohave.
When I got to the lake, I was absolutely impressed with the place. The lake was very beautiful.. and the water was very clear and clean. I grew up in the metropolitan area where rivers and beaches were somewhat polluted. So, when I looked at this lake, I was surprised how clean it was. The lake was also very quiet and only few people were there. (some local people and us)
We actually visited this lake twice while we were in Laughlin: in the afternoon (sunset) and in the morning. We had a great time.

Since I am a scuba diver it is a great lake to dive. There is many interesing sights to see. There are many boat wreck and a mineshaft under the water. The visiability is great. The water is nice. Sometime there is rude boaters. It is a nice lake. in cabinsite point there is a school bus and a van sunk by the fire department. Acadamy of scuba Lake Mohave know a lot about the lake.

too many people who don't own the jet skis and do no follow the rules of the lake. people driving on the wrong side doing donuts driving in front of boats, I was shocked the boat missed the guy on the jet ski! I would never stop at that landing again. too dangerous

We stopped at one of several beach areas to let grandson take a swim. Water is clear, beaches were clean. There are some smooth rocks, not all sandy area in the water. Beach sand was fine.

The water level on the lake was very low this time of the year. The winds were really high with gusts as well. We found a cove though that was away from all the wind.

Cottonwood Cove, which is inland from Searchlight, is a fantastic place to go for boating and camping. If not camping and staying in Laughlin or Bullhead City, it is a short 45 minute drive. Superior to launching your water craft at Katherine's Landing as there is no wait or long lines to go through at the Entrance Station to the Park.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area includes this reservoir called Lake Mohave. Kayaking, fishing, camping , 3 resorts - we only visited the area and did not stay overnight but we feel encouraged by the simple beauty of this lake and will plan to come back and stay in one of the resorts in the future.
Mohave Lake starts at the Hoover Dam and goes on to Davis Dam. You can get a first glimpse of it visiting Hoover Dam.

Telephone cove lake Mohave, this year stinky and dirty water we took our family and were very disappointed we went back to the Colorado river for the kids to swim.

Wonderful Lake. We had a three-day trip plan there. But unfortunately the second day the wind blew 50+ and the water was very rough. Our third day was excellent and help to make up for our unlucky second day. This is no small Lake very large and upriver you come to the Hoover dam. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning

Lake Mohave is an expansive body of water where you can swim, boat, fish, hike, kayak or jet ski. There always seems to be room for everyone and the scenery is amazing.

Came here with friends to take some jet skis out on the lake...had a super good time. Clean/clear water and beautiful desert setting. Laughlin and Bullhead City not far away for lodging and restaurants.

the lake is gigantic and well ran. easy parking. always an available cove and any water sports along with fishing is great

The marina at Lake Mojave Marina/Katherine Landing is a nice facility. They have a small store, restaurant (seasonally open), rentals for everything from houseboats to jet skis. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The road going to the marina is currently under construction with it being reduced to one lane with a pilot vehicle leading you in and out on a very dusty rough road 4+ miles. Expect extended delays getting in.This construction continues into the marina area and has greatly impacted the parking areas and boat launch area. Parking for a vehicle and trailer is a long walk. It looks like the finished construction program will greatly enhance the area but it is a major setback currently.

The previous reviewer is correct. We just spent a week on the lake near Davis Dam, and our friends had lots of camping supplies stolen after they left for the day. For over 30 years, boaters have left beach chairs and water sports toys on the beach overnight without problems. All of a sudden, the Park Rangers are not enforcing theft of personal belongings on the lake. My buddies jet ski was broken into on the beach and had his battery stolen. Do the Park Rangers now endorse boat theft and vandalism on the lake as well?

The lake is more family friendly than near by Havasu. The lake water is clear and full of fish. It's a bit windy at times, but it doesn't dull the great times had on the lake with family & friends!

The roads are currently tore up and under construction. For a 7 day pass it now will cost you $20 per car,

Quiet beaches and coves. excellent lake for jet ski, boating or kayaking.
Never too crowded. Awesome, relaxing place for family picnic and water sports.
I would rate this better much higher than Havasu.

Lake Mohave's countless coves and beaches and jumping rocks are one of the great things about retiring to Bullhead City. Another is the Colorado River below the Davis Dam, a forty mile recreational aquatic corridor all the way to Lake Havasu. Major fun!

i absolutely love this place its awesome we all went to point Mohave for family vacation with our boats and jet skis and rv's we all went fishing caught a lot of stripers and huge cat fish all the kids loved playing in the water and the adaults loved the boating fun cant wait to go back again

Nice, peaceful place. Not busy at this time of year. We enjoyed seeing London Bridge as it felt just like home. Although we didn't take advantage, there are boat trips available.

The river is beautiful, but the water is cold and full of jet skis and boats. That's why I prefer the lake. It is warmer water and in the Telephone Cove South area, it's a big roped off swimming area where boats and jet skis don't go. It's clean water and just a really nice area. I'm not usually a fan of swimming in lakes, but I love this one. If you want a shaded pavilion with a picnic table, get there early. We bring a pop up shade tent, chairs, a cooler, and enjoy the lake for a few hours. If you plan on going more than twice, spring for the annual pass. It's cost effective and gets you in as many times as you want for a year.

We just went for a quick visit to see if we could find spots on a busy family weekend and we did succeed. The shores are sandy with plenty of space to make your own little private area. There is a Marina with a little store and restaurant. All in all a great getaway if you like being near water and watching people play in the water.

Wish we were still able to bounce around in a boat, we'd still be out there.

Lake Mohave is likely the premier western states freshwater body of water for scuba diving. Shore dives...boat charter dives...one never knows what they might find. Good fishing, great water craft fun. VERY crowded during the summer and holiday week-ends...up to several hours launch time wait! Contact Dive Shack USA in Bullhead City for dive schedule, destinations and charters.

Hot, Hot, Hot. Why did we go to the desert in August? I dont know. This was our first time renting a patio boat, and there is really not alot of training, you just hop on and go. We had a lot of fun "sailing" on the lake. The only bad part about our 4 hour rental was that our boat had the constant smell of gasoline fumes. People on the water were great at sharing the space. There was plenty of room to dock your boat and get out and swim. There is not much shade at all, so bring plenty of sun screen and cold drinks. Unfortunately for us, we found the perfect spot for swimming at the end of our time. Almost tempted to go back again . . . almost I just have to remember it was 120 degrees! If we do go back, I would love to try this place again. Katherine's Landing personnel was wonderful and I would much rather go to Lake Mohave than spend time on the river (It's freezing - 50 degrees, but the Lake is perfect, around 78)

Very Nice Place !
Lots of water ! Lotsa Fun ! jet skis, boating, swiming, fishing, relaxing etc,
Give it a try !

Lovely oasis in the desert. There is a restaurant, fueling station, camping and a motel within the property boundaries. Located within the National Parks system, there is an entry fee. Looks like a popular place in the summer, with the nightlife of Laughlin very nearby.
Beautiful waters was the first thing my husband said when I was finally able to take him out on "my" lake last year. We love it and try to get on it at least once a week. It is very clear and beautiful!
