This has turned into our favorite Square for strolling and enjoying the scenery. We have only been to the restaurants there, haven't done too much shopping. Can't wait to take the boat ride on Lake Sumter next time we visit.

Charming and spotless with easy listening music in the square nightly. The restaurants looking over the water is just so nice. Quaint shops and top it all off with a libation or ice cream.

A place to enjoy yourself with live music most nights and plenty of restaurants to enjoy. Situated on a lake it also provides pleasant strolls along the boardwalk and boat trips if you want a relaxing change.

Join in dancing to live entertainment every night or sit and enjoy the music here. Happy hour from 5-6 nightly. You'll love the area shops and nice lake view. Free boat rides on the lake weather permitting.

lots to visit and enjoy. beautiful! can join in the activities or be an observer. shopping galore. eateries everywhere from low to $$$ and every kind you could want

Friendly people good atmosphere, music in the square at night and pleanty of places to eat and drink

Great retirement place I went there for business and I was greatly impressed with the infrastructure of the city

Lake Sumter Landing is my favorite square in The Villages. There is a nice variety of restaurants and shops to visit. But it is the lake which makes it my favorite. It is just so relaxing to walk the boardwalk or just sit and read or watch the water. Like the other squares, it has entertainment every evening, too.

This is my husband and my favorite place to take a walk! They built quite a lovely sidewalk that goes quite some distance all around the square, the water and the playground. It's very relaxing when there's not many people out and it's peaceful and serene. LOVE THIS PLACE and we are so grateful that they created it and maintain it well! <3 Oh, lots of shops and restaurants there, too, if you're into that. We just go for the walk, but occasionally stop in some places to support our local treasures! :)

We like to eat at a few of the restaurants here so we usually walk the trail around the landing. It’s fun to see the boats and birds in the area. There’s a good boat tour you can take for $2 a person.

I've lived in The Villages for 5 years now. I don't do well staying in the house so it's rare when I am not at one of the 3 town squares in the evening.... listening to the entertainment, watching the dancers, chatting with those sitting next to me, etc. I will forever vote for Lake Sumter Landing as the best town square in The Villages, FL. The one unique thing that makes it so wonderful is the lake itself. It is so relaxing sitting on the boardwalk, sipping a glass of wine, watching the birds and cranes, and just listening to the music. It will forever be my "perfect place."

Shopping in such a nice setting. Anything from books, movie theater, a variety of restaurants, great sales on clothes, doctors, dentists and grocery stores and live entertainment every night. You almost never have to leave.

Great place to go and eat, shop, entertainment all in one place. Many great restaurants,It's like a little village.

You can spend hours here shopping, listening to good music, sitting by the lake in one of the benches there watching the boats go up and down and watching the turtles at the dock! Thereafter stop by the square and listen to great bands from 5 pm to 9 pm all free plus from 5 to 6 pm is HAPPY HOUR, this is a most definitely worth while stop or should I say walk through!!!!!!

Lake Sumter Landing is the Jewel in The Villages 'crown'. It is a wonderful place to visit, have a meal, stroll along the docks, shop, people-watch and/or enjoy music on the Square.
This place really 'hops' all year long, and gets even busier in the winter time, with more visiting friends and family and snowbirds who live in The Villages. Even so, the crowds are never too much for the place to handle.

Great square to walk next to the lake, going to restaurants or just to walk along or sit and listen to the live music that is playing between 5pm and 9pm.

Great downtown square, on the water. An extensive boardwalk, along the lake, with plenty of places to dine, drink, and shop. Evening entertainment, nightly. Tonight, we took the $2 Lake Sumter Line boat tour, which was well worth it. We wound up being the only passengers, which resulted in our having a personal tour guide. This is a really fun place, with activity options, galore. Check it out!

Nice town. We were in the Villages visiting friends, so we stopped at Sumter Landing to do a little shopping and find some dinner. It was a Saturday night and the place was hopping. There was entertainment in the square and it seemed like most of the restaurants did too.

We took a golf cart ride to Lake Sumter Landing with our friends just before sunset. The view from the long dock made photo taking a must. People were feeding the fish and turtles. The music from the gazebo was really good. Yet only the grandchildren danced. Well, we got up and danced a bit. Plenty of shops, and restaurants. That kept my wife and her friend HAPPY.

What a great place! You could spend all day shopping here, take in a movie, grab a cup of coffee, take a stroll along the river and catch a sunset. Many restaurants to choose from, seating inside and outside. Live music starts at 5pm. Take a load off and listen to great music, watch folks dancing, or join in the fun. And, this can be done SEVEN days/nights a week! It just doesn't get much better than this. Free to the public!

We had a great afternoon at Sumter Landing in The Villages. Shopping was great. Several choices for eating. Looks like a great place for community activities. This place is dog friendly which was a BIG plus!!!!

Knew about the two-for-one wine specials between 5 and 6 PM. My sister lives a half a mile from Sumter Landing so she parked the car while I waited in line to get us each some wine. It took a half hour to make it up to the alcohol station. Be advised. There is more than one variety of some wines so ask before hand. We had Château Saint Michelle Chardonnay over the Barefoot Chardonnay. It's only a dollar difference. Because it was Thursday night we walked around and visited the vendors that were there selling various flea market type stuff.
By 5 o'clock all the chairs were gone so it was hard to find a place to sit down to watch the dancers out on the Square. It is the place to go to watch seniors have a good time.

I have lived here in the beautiful Villages for nine years and never get tired of going to Lake Sumter Landing. If you enjoy dancing on the square, this is the best outdoor dance floor in the Villages. A walk around Lake Sumter is always fun.

We enjoy going to Sumpter Landing. There are a lot of stores for great shopping and lots of good restaurants to cater to everyone's tastes. Good entertainment and of course the very attractive Villages hotel. Lots to see and do. Great place to take your grandchildren, enjoy a movie or just walk.

Eat, drink, play--enjoy a few hours walking in the square, listening to music, just enjoying the music in the square.

Sumter Landing is a great place to hang out any time of day or night. Lots of great restaurants, shopping options, movie theatre, bands, people.

Best market square in The Villages. More shops more restaurants more spacious. Entertaining music and a good place to be and be seen.

I was blown away when I first arrived in Lake Sumter landing. So much detail went into creating this magical place. The buildings are prestige. Little shops around the town square where 365 days a year they offer live entertainment. Quaint eatery’s all with outdoor seating! A boardwalk that winds around the lake, lamp posts that sing music in the air. This place is a must see and do if you are around the area! Very clean no garbage anywhere to be found on the grounds! That is amazing these days!
See live turtles in the lake every afternoon and little fish. Lake Sumter is a gem!

Warm and fuzzy. That's how you feel when visiting Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages, Fl. It's delightful to walk the waterfront on the boardwalk. Town square is lively with music, dancing, people, golf cart watching!!!, drinking at the drink shack, visiting the vendor booths on vendor night, or just wandering. Restaurants galore, or ice cream, and more. Fun! Fun! Fun!

We live close to Lake Sumter Landing. We have 3 towns in The Villages. They are all nice, but Lake Sumter Landing is my favorite!! It has a man made lake with a boardwalk. The theme is a Key West feel. There is entertainment every night at the Gazebo with dancing on the square. There are many great restaurants (Cody's, Honest John's, Red Sauce, The Lighthouse, Panera's, Too Jay's, Sonny's BQ, Sakura, etc.). There are a variety of shops. We have a Winn-Dixie, doctors, dentists, urgent care, x-ray place, etc. all within walking distance of Lake Sumter Landing. A wonderful place to live and to visit!!

If you get a chance to visit The Villages, FL, don't miss spending a few hours at beautiful Lake Sumter Landing. A walk along the lake on the boardwalk yields many opportunities to observe nature. You will see many species of fish and birds native to Florida, as well as soft shelled turtles and maybe even an alligator. On the square you will find many popular restaurants and stores and some unique shops as well as a movie theater. With live entertainment every night from 5-9, this is where the locals gather for a great time. And this is just one of three Town Squares in The Villages, and you should check each one of them out.

There is always lots to do. Lake Sumter landing has a dining experience for every budget level. There is free entertainment every night and once a week it has a market place around the center square where unique items can be found.

Beautiful surroundings although quite busy. Entertainment every night outdoors in the square, oh yeah its free!

Very cool place to eat, shop, and just sightsee and people watch. A lot of variety in shops and restaurants and a very pleasant ambience to the town center. We didn't have enough time to fully explore it, but we will be going back and taking friends for a longer stay

I had a wonderful time listening to The band! The Clark Barrios Band is wonderful, they play music from the decades such as 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and more. What a wonderful way to meet knew friends and dance/exercise to The Clark Barrios Band. Generally the village square offers a band on Wednesday and on other nights as special occasions. Being blessed to listen to Clark Barrios sing was beautiful. Such a talented voice and his band is filled with beautiful talent. Thank you so much!

This is a great place to eat, shop visit the cinema or listen to live music. There is ever You need here on the square.
Live music in the evening, everything from Blues, rock, pop .something to suit everyone,Great Place.Beautiful Landscape.Would recommend to everyone.

First time here for me and my wife. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the square. We can see why many seniors make this their home. Everything you need is in the area.

Great place to stroll and people watch! Nice at sunset to watch from the lake. Lots of music playing at town square. People dance and sing and have a great time. Kids of all ages are having fun! I always take visitors here!

Evening is when EVERYONE descends on this area for drinks, dinner and live entertainment at the gazebo. Parking is difficult. You must wait for a table to dine.
Drinks are not happy hour prices.
I am told that $2 boat rides are offered on the adjoining lake. My favorite part of my visit was being able to sit & enjoy the music 🎶 of the live band while watching visitors dancing. The moon shining through the palms that evening was nice!

This is a nice little area to walk around with boutiques and restaurants. There is live entertainment outside in the middle of the square where people dance in the evenings. Be sure to stroll along the boardwalk on the (man made) lake and observe the turtles, fish and water fowl. A bit touristy but fun nonetheless.

My wife and I stopped to visit family that moved here last year. This is definitely not a place to visit. It appears to be a very close knit community.
If you don't live here and own a golf cart with your name emblazoned on the side then you are treated like a outsider.
I and my wife are no spring chickens, both being on social security but we were questioned what we were doing no matter where we went.
This is a place to move but do not visit. It is apparent all the warm and fuzzy reviews came from Villagers living there .
I'm sorry we didn't drink the mojo juice and this is not a place for us.
Heading to Disney. At least the people there are friendly.

A New England vibe town square with a beautiful pier and lots of places to eat. One of the three main town squares in the villages in Florida

This is a very active and and actrive town center. Plenty of good resstaurants, stores, and a very nic theater.

Great place to spend many hours. Very nice boardwalk to stroll. Many good restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Live entertainment in the evening. And a movie theater and boat ride on the lake. Something for everyone.

I enjoy going to Lake Sumter Landing because they have a theatre and a few favorite places I frequent such as: Barnes & Noble, Van Heusen, Subway, Panera and Starbucks. They also have a Haagen Daaz if you crave ice cream after dinner. Over the lake are amazing sunset views. They have a little boat tour that is inexpensive and perfect for small groups. They have restaurants in low, mid, and high price range. They have Johnny Rockets, TooJay's, Sonny's BBQ, Cody's BBQ, Thai Ruby, a Japanese Steak Restaurant, Chop House, Lighthouse Pointe Bar & Grill and a few more. The center has nightly entertainment for old folks but you don't have to be retired to enjoy this place. Just be respectful. Most everyone is friendly.

Lake Sumter Landing has live entertainment & nights a week, something for Everyone to enjoy! If live entertainment is not enough, the movie theater is great and showing all of the latest movies. Plenty of shopping and restaurants to choose from also. Come by golf cart or vehicle. If parking is full around the square, just look behind all of the shopping and buildings leading to the square, plenty of parking there. If you are in The Villages for any reason, this is a place should be on your list to visit.

Unique live entertainment daily Happy Hours market Days twice a week
Just a fun place to be. I can not say how much fun it is

This is a great place to walk around and look in the cute shops. There are lots of restaurants to choose from that are fun and lively. You can even take a fun boat ride! Definitely stay for the live entertainment in the square.

I have been here at various times of the year to visit family. Lake Sumter has all kinds of things to do. We love walking the boardwalk by the lake and listening to music on Sumpter radio. If we need a snack we can stop at one of the many local restaurants or attend happy hour as its almost always 2 for 1. At night the have FREE concerts, 365 days a year. Great fun for all ages.

This is the best town square of The Villages. It is located by the lake and offers beautiful vies of the sunset. The shops are diverse and offers amazing shopping! Sales are offered frequently. The nightly entertainment keeps the crows on their feet! Quality entertainment for all.

This is a Central Florida Paradise. Adult living at it's finest. Park your car, rent a Golfcart and explore this hidden gem. The bubble has so much entertainment, and never lacking sports and hobbies. Immaculate beyond Disney standards. The landscaping is stellar. Well worth a weekend stay at either the Waterfront Inn or the Brownwood Inn... Many choices for Breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner... As far as the "Rumors"... Total BS... Haven't seen it...

Walk on the board walk, it is a very nice and clean square in the Villages, a must to visit. Great shopping and the square has an old feeling that puts you back in time.

It feels like I returned to a California beach city. A lighthouse with s dockside restaurant. A boardwalk wrapping partially around the lake lie I would find in Ocracoke North Carolina. A small river lock I would find in Georgetown near Alexandria Virginia. Golf carts and nice places to eat inside and out.
There is a large town square with free nightly music 5:30 to 9:00 pm.

Lake Sumter Landing has it all. Great shops, great restaurants, great services, easy access, plenty of parking, awesome entertainment. Always worth the visit for any reason.

Same as the other town squared in The Villages, just with a big lake. It’s nice for a stroll or feeding the ducks.

My husband and I went to the movies today and then walked down to Too Jays for dinner. It's always a lot of fun to walk around the square, listening to the music, having a bite to eat and maybe do a little shopping. It's a all-in-one fun day trip.

On Wednesdays Lake Sumter Landing has its crafters as well as a live band and alcoholic drinks. So much fun to shop to the beat of the band or dance if you prefer. Well worth the trip over. Many restaurants to pick from and stores are all open late.

Always enjoyed sitting out on patio listening to the singers.
We also like to watch football on Sundays and drink 2 for 1's.

This location offers great free entertainment daily along with several good resturants with selections for all tastes and budgets

Stayed here with friends. Great entertainment, good food, really nice place to visit. Gplf carts make travel a breeze. My favorite of the village's as I'm a water person. The lake is very nice. The town is beautiful. Will be back again for sure. I highly recommend it if you're visiting The Villages.

Busy square with great shopping and numerous restaurants to choose from. Downside is the congestion can be overwhelming. It's best to try and time your trips before or after the normal meal rush or wait times to eat will be lengthy.

If the view isn’t perfect enough for you then the music, the food, the hospitality will just push you over the edge. If you live in Florida or just passing through you go and enjoy.

Honeymoon visit. Absolutely stunning view. Take a boat ride on the lake. Eat at the many restraunts. Stop in every shop. There is something for everyone. Bands every night. Now I know why people live longer in Florida!!

This is a must see destination if you're in The Villages area. It is one of 3 centers of restaurants, cinemas, stores, and nightly entertainment. There are many choices for restaurants, steaks, thai, italian, hamburger joint, soup & sandwich, and my favorite , the Lighthouse Rest. at sunset.

Sumter Landing is considered the centre of The Villages. A peaceful lake to take a short boat ride, admire the sunset, enjoy a cocktail and laugh with friends.

Lake Sumter is my favorite town square. There is more shade and it reminds me of towns in New England.

Visited with daughter and granddaughters when Rocky was playing. Girls were intriqued by the new Travel Jewelry Shop. Crowd was manageable and it was fun.

I walk this area weekly, nice board walk, lots of breakfast, lunch and dinner places, great views of lake from boardwalk and many of the restaurants. Retail stores, Movie theater, and book store.

Absolutely wonderful. Shops, restaurants, music, smiling people. I live near Lake Sumter Landing, and pinch myself for being so lucky to be LIVING here. People are dancing in the street.!😎

Enjoy walking on the boardwalk, having ice cream, looking at the great designer golf carts, and the great shops. Always a very pleasant trip and great family activity for all ages.

Love this landing. Plenty of space to dance, shops, restaurants. Codys my fav sitting outside on lake side great views. Nice Boardwalk, wildlife and little boat ride 2 dollars. Scooter great DJ especially if have kids. Hayfire, Johnny Wild also great bands for dancing. Waterfront hotel on water there great views.

We have a beautiful picture by the lake. The Square has good entertainment every night and there are Market days that are fun to shop and look at items. the stores are fun to browse and the ice cream shop always has a special treat for us!

This is my favorite walk so far in the villages. You can skirt the waterfront and then have a meal or snack in one of the many restaurants. Shopping is so so. Very picturesque.

Great food, fun, and entertainment in many forms. Strolling casually around the area is enjoyable for all of the good things in life. The options for spending an hour or several are all right here in a small area of the world. Life is good.

Enjoy the peaceful view. You can take a boat ride on Lake Sumter and learn some history about The Villages, watch the dragon boats, walk out on the pier to maybe catch a glimpse of resident turtles, and have a bite to eat at one of several great restaurants.

Located in the center of The Villages is the Market Square Lake Sumter Landing. Here one can't help but notice one thing in common: people are very joyful and very active. There are so many choices of restaurants, shops, outdoor activities, etc. The boardwalk makes it very easy so that one can walk from one end of the square to the other end while enjoy beautiful surroundings of the lake, boats and many birds. Even though it is far from the ocean, the lighthouse on the east end of the landing makes it feel as if you are at seashore. A 45 minutes boat ride on the lake gives you a chance to learn the history of the region. This is indeed a paradise for those who live here but also a great place to spend a very happy day in The Villages.

Fun place to visit in the afternoon for restaurants and shopping, great place in the evening for music, dancing.

Where do you start with The Villages!! Our best winter break ever. We have been renting for a month for the last five years and are already booked for next year. There is so much to do here and as golfers we are in our element! If we’re not golfing we are swimming in the many heated outdoor pools or dancing to the free bands in the squares. You have to be there to believe what is on offer here!

My husband and I started visiting The Villages five years ago. We rented the first two of those years. Mainly we thought of it as a nice place to see some sunshine during the winter. And slowly...slowly...we found we more than liked it...and bought a house there! There are three main village squares in The Villages. Lake Sumter Landing is the nicest and most picturesque of the three. The theme decor is Lakeside, with a light house and boat rides on Lake Sumter. There is live music each night, with dancing. Multiple restaurants offer a variety of cuisine that should please most people. The shopping is enjoyable and relaxing.

Lake Sumpter Landing is the site of one of three town squares located in The Villages, FL, where there is free live music entertainment every night of the year from 5 to 9 PM. The square is surrounded by many excellent restaurants and several retail shops. It’s the perfect place to watch the sunset.

Such a fun place to be a part of. From a walk on the boardwalk, to the shops & restaurants, Lighthouse Bar & Grill, to the entertainment on the square. My favorite place in The Villages.

This was probably my favorite Square in the evening for restaurants and dancing. I would choose by square usually on the band that was playing. But if I also wanted dinner it was so many options at the Square. And there are a lot of boutiques as well.

Just love taking friends to "the square". the shops are lovely, the restaurants are very good and the music is the icing on the cake

One of the most popular of the 3 town squares live entertainment nightly, many stores and boutiques for shopping many restaurants with a variety of menus, beautiful home sales office absolutely no pressure to buy , dancing on the square with live music 5P.M til 9P.M.

Lake Sumter Landing has everything you could want; restaurants, ice cream parlor, clothing stores, a wine bar, furniture store, coffee shop, a waterfront dock, a hotel, the trolley for tours, and daily entertainment from 5-9. Most locals bring their own chairs especially on Market nights when vendors are selling, hats, house signs, jewelry,or luggage. People come early and just pull up in their golf carts and people watch and it's all FREE.

Sumter Landing is a wonderful night out. It has nightly live music and beverage stands to quench your thirst, not to mention the numerous restaurants which serve a wide variety of good food. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there are street vendors who sell crafts and other items of interest. The lake nearby offers a relaxing scenic setting for enjoying a cool one. One way to spend an enjoyable evening.

The Landing provides a nice casual environment. Local retailers and restaurants are beyond the typical mall. Evening entertainment includes concerts, sometimes dancing, and available theaters.

Has a board walk the length of the town center area. Plenty of places to choose from to eat and just relax by the water. Has music every night from 5-9pm come and join us some time.

I love going there on vendor night. So many neat things for sale. Get a ice cream a walk along the water. The music from the bands make for a very relax and fun time.

If you want to have lunch or dinner, catch a movie, take a stroll on the boardwalk while you are enjoying an ice cream, buy some clothes, listen to live music every afternoon and then grab a cup of coffee, come to this place, I am just lucky to live here!

The grouper is real good, the sunsets are spectacular, the service is real good. Music is not loud so you can hear your friends

This is a mix of restaurants, bars, shops and financial institutions in a very attractive setting on Lake Sumter. It was only a few minutes walk from the Waterfront Inn. Looked like old fashioned Main Street USA.

Lake Sumter is the heart of The Villages. It is central and has so much to offer. Great dining, shopping and atmosphere. My favorite square.

Free music nightly and dancing in the squares, good restaurants available and shops. Plenty of parking. Daytime is just as busy at the restaurants and if people are dining on the restaurant porches...great music is being played.

This is a great evening get-a-way place for either a local or a visitor to The Villages. There's music, dancing and friends all around so "come on down."
Like all of the Squares in The Villages, there is free music and activity in the squares every evening. You don't even have to bring your own chairs!!
The stores around the square stay open until 8:30 - 9 pm. Don't try to go to Panera though after 8:30 pm because their sidewalk rolls up early. Starbucks and the "wilder" places stay open later.
Have fun folks and don't tell your kids what you're doing!!!

One of my favorite squares, great restaurants, the largest square and really great time with AWESOME MUSIC, enjoy also seeing the sun setting by the lake, boat rides on Lake Sumter with costs of $3 per person!!!!!!

Great place to hang out, shop, walk around. We just love the look of the place and the buildings. It feels comfortable and that is what we like when we go someplace to relax.

Great place to walk around and enjoy the lake side views. Stroll on the boardwalk, eat at one of the many dining establishments, or take in a film at the theater. Come for a day long movie and dining experience or just to sit around and enjoy the lake and/or people watching.

What a great place to poke around for a couple of hours. lots of fun little shops as well as lots of restaurants. the music is terrific!

Lake Sumter Landing is a quaint "Maine-like" themed section of in The Villages, FL. There is plenty of shopping, many restaurants and you don't want to miss the dancing and/or vendor nights on the square. Take a stroll down the boardwalk and look out over the water at sunset. It's a fun oriented type of place. Don't miss out on the special events such as the Florida Lottery event where they hold the drawing in the main square here at Lake Sumter. I work here and I play here, it's a great place to come out and spend an evening at the movies or just relaxing with a drink on the square!

This is our favorite square to go to. We live the openness. There’s s breeze that comes in from the lake and makes it very comfortable. There’s plenty of restaurants to choose from and stores to shop at. Don’t forget Panera and Ambrosia.

We stayed for a month in a rental villa here. There are lots of lovely cafes, bars and restaurants as well shops and supermarkets. There are about 40 communal swimming pools, recreational centres, indoor bowling alleys and a polo club. A thoroughly enjoyable place for a holiday.

Many activities and much to do and see. Good for all ages. Evening dancing and drinking. Shops and eating places all around.

You can’t beat Sumter Landing for fun and attractions. If you get there early, you get to see the Dragon Boat racers practicing. I can almost hear the beat of the drums from the coffee shop. Taking an early morning stroll, or an evening out for dancing, food and fun, you can’t beat it.. Make sure you bring your camera and your dancing shoes.

This is a really fun place to bring family and friends visiting Florida and lets them see exactly what The Villages lifestyle is all about. We enjoy going on the boat ride around the lake and visiting the shops. But the real fun is the live entertainment 365 nights a year at the bandstand. No need to bring chairs as they are provided. Fun day or night!

Great square for food, shopping, and site seeing!! Must see the Purple pig for fun and unique gift ideas and also the kitchen collection store!!

No turn signals. Many drivers take two spaces. Park away a distance and walk. Many folks exiting area sidewalk bars have problems navigating their route.

Nice show, smallish crowd. Plenty of room for everybody. Drinks were available. Parking was great, nice people in the crowd, no hassles of any kind. The chairs they have are very comfortable. We enjoy our time at this square. Something for everyone.

Come sip your early morning coffee on the veranda of Panera's, or at a picnic table by the hometown radio station. Perhap rest on the ledge of the stone water fountain or park on a favorite bench by the lake to watch dragon boaters and abundant wildlife. Sit under the shadow of palms in view of the lighthouse. You'll notice the treat for all your senses in this peaceful by morning and rockin' by evening town square. A beachy New England style is the charm that residents/guests enjoy so much. Shop, dine, stroll along lushly landscaped streets, trendy shops and wide variety of restaurants. A movie theater showing several first run flicks at a time, is a retreat in itself with cozy seats and tables in the lobby. Maybe spend a few nights in a first class hotel on the lake. Not to be missed!!!

Beautiful place to walk around, take in a movie, get a coffee at Starbucks and top it off with a special chocolate treat from Peterbrooke. Love going there, so relaxing with great views. For visitors, the Waterfront hotel is a great place for them to stay.

Living permanently in The Villages for 5 years. A beautiful location with a nice view, board walk along waterfront , and entertainment every night, weather permitting.

There is always something going on at Sumter Landing, but you can enjoy the views and a nice stroll, too. A fun place to visit.

I am not retired (yet) and was visiting with relatives. Loved the free live music that was different every night,,,something for everyone. The entire place is very life filled and gives a chance to meet many people. It is a little more open and bigger than Spanish Springs and it doesn't feel as squeezed in. I spent a great deal of time just sitting and relaxing. Many shops around and places to eat everywhere. There is NO way someone could ever be bored in a place like this !!

It's like walking into a New England coastal town. Everything is there, restaurants, shops and entertainment. The concept is unique, the atmosphere is fantastic. It's safe for you to walk around.

Hot Rod Golf Car Show. Good Free music, food and Happy Hour at the Tiki Hut.
Love the scenery and everyone is so relaxed and friendly.

We walked around the area. Some good restaurant choices, had dinner at the bar/grill on the water. It would be better if they had some more stores that weren't so expensive. There was a shoe store that had flip flops for $100.00 and the cheap ones were like $50.00. Clothing boutique had bathing suites for $160.00.

Nice spot to gather with friends or with just two. Happy hour is good and easy walking to many good restaurants.

What a beautiful area! As neat and clean as downtown Toronto, with the added pleasure of shops and restaurants, and a “town square” where friendly music abounds. The lake is home to all manner of fish, turtles, and allegedly, alligators, though I didn’t mind not meeting any. Plenty of sweet places to sit and reflect and so much to see and reflect on. A go.

This is a nice place to relax on a small lake. There are places to sit, relax, eat, shop, and things to do. You cannot go wrong at the landing.

A nice place to spend a few hours in the Villages. Nightly entertainment and a handful of restaurants to enjoy. Come see the heart of the villages. We who live here love it!

Sumter landing is the best of the town squares in The Villages, Florida. You can walk the extensive dockyard, enjoy a meal at a variety of restaurants, watch a movie, enjoy quality live entertainment on the square and shop the markets on Tuesday or Thursday, 5 to 9. I suggest you hit the happy hour at the square at 5 for a cool beverage; stroll the dock while you decide on you dinner preference and proceed to your restaurant of choice.

There are three squares in The Villages, FL—the largest master-planned age-restricted community in Florida—and anywhere else maybe. There’s about 120,000 older folks here and we like it. There’s music every evening from 5pm till 9pm 365 days a year at all three of the squares. Lake Sumter Landing is the middle of the squares and my favorite for sure, though I like that there are two others, each with its own unique personality.
Lake Sumter landing, like the others has a number of restaurants, from franchises, like Panera’s and Johnny Rockets to private enterprises that feature food that is Mexican, Thai, Italian, Chinese—or even American (New York) deli. There’s also a pizza shop—is pizza Italian or Ameircan?!
The shopping is mostly small, niche mom-and-pop operations, with some small franchiees, like Ancient Olive and Toojays, but some are well-known brand stores, such as Jos. A. Bank, Barnes and Nobles, and Håagen-Das, just to provide a flavor of the variety of shopping opportunities.
There are too many medical offices to mention, with most specialties, an urgent care center, and even, a compounding pharmacy right in the larger Sumter Landing Square area.
The Villages has the largest concentration of golf carts in the world. It is only fitting, therefore, that there is also a gas station and full service care facility for only golf carts in the larger Sumter Landing Square area.
One of the unique attractions of Sumter Square Landing is Lake Sumter. Lake Sumter, a man-made lake, has a long boardwalk perfect for meandering or an after dinner promenade. The sightseeing boat plies the usually calm waters of Lake Sumter every afternoon and evening. One will see many dogs as you walk, either on a leash or, perhaps, in a perambulator, since dogs are ubiquitous companions in The Villages. I like to stop for an ice cream cone on most of my walks or stop in to listen to the music at the square or shop on the couple of nights a week when the twenty-five or thirty vendors are selling their wares, some unique hand-crafted items.
All in all, Sumter Landing Square is wonderful attraction for dining, shopping, browsing, seeing a movie, or just spending a delightful afternoon.

Lake Sumter Landing's colorful waterfront setting reminds many folks of quaint East Coast seaside villages from days of yore. The lighthouse on Lake Sumter has become a major landmark signaling food, fun and FREE nightly entertainment all year long! The Market Square is home to the Old Mill Playhouse cinema complex, as well as a large variety of boutiques and restaurants sure to satisfy any taste. Drop by and pay the Landing a visit — spend a few hours or make it a whole day and roll it into the evening and enjoy your favorite drink at the lakeshore bar and watch a glorious sunset. My wife and I enjoyed the place so much we now live here!!!!!!!!

Stopped while attending a memorial and the area allowed us to free our minds of the sad occasion we were in the villages.
Great environment with shopping, entertainment, food etc.
I strongly suggest this suggest stopping in to the landing.

We had a great time on Lake Sumter with a boat ride to end the day! The 5 and 7 yo enjoyed! The guide was funny, learned some info and made it a great experience!
For $2 pp great value!

It is fun to spend a few hours at Lake Sumter Landing. I've enjoyed shopping for clothes, watching 50s, 60s performers, local residents in parades, a book signing, and walking by the lake.

This is one of the three town squares in The Villages. It's very pretty because it is on the water. We walked along the pier, looking at the birds and turtles. At happy hour, we stood in line at one of the kiosks, then sat with a group of friends listening to the music in the town square. A fun-filled evening.

Live music in the evenings! Most people are up and dancing to the music. A great band when we were there and got everybody enjoying themselves! A real nice place.

Just a beautiful venue with several restaurants, a band every evening (365 days a year) from 5 until 9 PM. Happy Hour ever day from 5 - 6 PM, shopping, walking along the boardwalk, watching the turtles and alligators, dancing, visiting, just having F-U-N!

Lake Sumter Landing is part of The Villages FL. It is on a beautiful lake and there are several restaurants and shops and movie theater. It is family friendly and has live music on the square every evening ( weather permitting ) where you can go to dance or just watch and enjoy. Really not much more to do though, so should plan a day trip now and then if you are there for very long.

A great place to eat inside or outside, drink, relax, and enjoy evening music with friends and family seven days a week.

Of all three squares in the Villages, this one is my favorite. The theme is beachy and there are a lot of dining and shopping options. We also enjoy the convenience of a bank, grocery store, dentists and various doctors. There is a very nice day spa (Tuscany) and other businesses. What's there NOT to love!?

My husband and I go to to Lake Summer to listen to the free music by great bands at the town square. We ussally grab or stop by a local restaurant and get an pizza or a sub and take it to the square to eat.We arrive there extra early so we can park close to the square, my husband is disabled and has difficultly walking.
Once a week they have a Farmer's market there. From 5Pm.-7Pm. is Happy Hour. The band plays from 5pm.-9pm. If weather is good.

We love Sumter Landing. Whether you want to shop, eat, listen to live entertainment, or just stroll along the waterfront, here is the place for casual enjoymrnt!

The above photo is just a taste of what to expect. Beautiful and inviting. Well worth the trip. Don't let the below visitation date mislead you. My wife and I live on the water at this location. Sunrises and sunsets are amazing. Oh yes, I almost forgot mentioning the free music every evening 5-9pm on the square. Families truly enjoy this location. Good wholesome place to visit.

This square has a real home town feel to it. The setting, architecture, layout, and storefronts all fit together well. Nice to just sit at Starbucks or Panera Bakery (great porch!) and watch all the action.

We were here on a Tuesday evening when they had great music and people of all ages dancing. There were booths set up around the perimeter selling various items. We had a ball

I love our Town Square. It has everything you can want or need. Every type of restaurant / a movie theatre / a fabulous selection and variety of stores / entertainment every night .....and the boardwalk alongside the lake. It’s my ‘go to’ place for relaxation and fun.

Sumter Landing with its view over the lake is still one of the most beautiful scenes in The Villages. The town square is always active and the many shops, theater and restaurants always seem to be doing a good business.

This is my favorite Town Square. Part of the reason is how close it is to the house. Good music, good food, nice theater and more. Great views of the lake and lots of shopping.

Great spot to enjoy entertainment from local musical groups, several very nice restaurants and vacationer style shopping.

We were here during a weekday afternoon. So parking was fairly easy. Lot of restaurants and beautiful view of lake. Everything looks well organized. During evenings they have dancing in open area. But weather that day was bad. So missed it. It is an experience to drive through Villages and see this town square.

Centrally located, not too many loco locals. Short Happy Hour though (5-6pm).
Walk the boardwalk around the lake. Practice your line dancing or "the sprinkler" to your favorite musicians. Just don't get caught doing the nasty in the gazebo after hours!

We visited Lake Sumpter and it was wonderful, from the picturesque Lighthouse, lake and the town square there is beauty everywhere! The town has many restaurants from Johnny Rockets ( burgers) to the Lighthouse ( best fish dishes). There is a theater, many bars and restaurants and dancing in the town square. We were there for the Christmas golf cart parade which was entertaining and enjoyable!

I love going to this one and walking by the water. Its really nice when the sun starts to set. It's a great place for pictures too. They have an ice cream shop right by the water. It's some of the best ice cream I've had.

This is a great area to hang out. Beautiful lake view, great restaurants, shops, movie theater and late afternoon band and dancing. A must to visit.

I had a great time and great service by my waitress Janice. She made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend the restaurant and my server Janice to everyone. Food was excellent.

Live music every evening, plenty of people to get acquainted with, plenty of good restaurants around, & all kinds of things to do! You will not be bored!!!

We really enjoyed staying at the Waterfront Inn Hotel on Lake Sumter and walking around this town center. Lots of restaurants, bars, shops, movie theatre, etc. Every night they have live music in the town square and the residents/visitors really come out and enjoy it. Only problem I see is that it is so crowded with cars and golf carts that it is difficult to find a parking spot, even at the hotel for hotel guests as those going to the restaurants, bars, shops, etc use a lot of the parking. If it wasn't for this, I would give it an excellent rating.

This area in the Villages is the prettiest of all 3 squares. With beautiful Lake Sumter and broad walks to walk next to the lake, lots of shopping and restaurants. Market Nights on Tuesday and Thursdays, with lots of merchants selling sunglasses, watches, golf balls, jewelry etc. A very busy area especially when a band plays on the pavilion every night from 5 to 9pm. And lets not forget the line dancing that goes with it sometimes.

Day or night, we liked this place the very best of all. It had the greatest variety of restaurants and the location, along the lake, was excellent.

Had a good time. various restaurants, music and since I was there in the off season, parking was adequate

This is the best of the three squares! The setting is laid back. Live entertainment nightly! Enjoy the water view from this square

Beautiful town square with lots of shops to check out , lots of restaurants to dine out in and outdoor. The boardwalk along is quite nice , they even have short boat rides around the lake , after 4pm for only $2 . In the Center of it all , there is live entertainment playing every night, with lots of chairs but you can bring your own as well. Entertainment starts at 5pm to9pm with dancing if you like and there is happy hour ( 5pm-6pm). Also to be noted , the area is very pet friendly.

Just there this morning and enjoyed shopping at the Kittchen Collection City Furniture, as well as Maidenform. At the kitchen store I found grilling gear, a blow torch to make Creme Brule, some containers for storage and mini spatulas. Love that store! Always something new to discover. I also found PJ's a the Maidenform outlet and checked on some rolling chairs at the furniture store. Fun outing1

There are 3 large squares that form the entertainment and restaurant hubs of the Villages. Each is excellent for what they have to offer: numerous restaurants, shops, movie theatre, etc. Live entertainment is offered from 5-9 PM every night of the week and it is free of charge. Happy hour prices on drinks is offered from 5-6 PM with very reasonable prices offered throughout the night. We prefer this Square because of the variety of restaurants that we like and because it is where our favorite hotel in the Villages, Waterfront Inn, is located. As the name implies there is a large lake in the square with great views of water birds, people in dragon boats, golf courses, etc. Many of the restaurants offer outdoor seating with views of this lake or the entertainment venue.

I love this Square. There are very nice shops, Van Heusen, a great store with chichi-Kees, ie beautiful Christmas decorations, plates with an ocean team, the best pies and ice cream, it’s between City Fire & Red Sauce. There are quite a few different restaurants, ie Steak, Toojays for Deli, Johnny Rockets for good burgers and shakes. Hallmark store is there Along with City Furniture.
At night and I mean every night there is some kind of terrific entertainment. If you like to line dance (they line dance to any & all types of music) or just sit and watch or sing along this is the place to be. I meet my friends there and always enjoy the music while having a Starbucks coffee.
The Squares in The Villages are open to everyone. I especially enjoy seeing the children.

Excellent place to visit. Great restraunts for any budget. Shops galore. Great entertainment.A Pleace for almost any budget.

Love this square. Sat one night on the porch of the sales office listening to Scooter. Great time to sit back and relax, have a few snacks and enjoy a beautiful night. Also the boardwalk is great for a relaxing walk and to enjoy the Beauty of the area. Can't go to the villages without going hear.

This is a great place to enjoy the day or night with lots of restaurants (many waterfront), entertainment (nightly in restaurant and town square), movie theatre and shops. All with easy walking distance. The only issue is parking, especially on weekends as all the locals converge on this area with their cars and GOLF CARTS and parking is limited. Solve the latter problem and this would be 5 stars.

Wonderful place for dinner n having a good time many chives for dinner we like the lighthouse for service n great selection of seafood enjoy dancing on the square meet many friendly people everyone having a good time

Just like the other squares they have nightly music. Great restaurants and if you can take the boat ride on the lake . Great place

The Villages in Florida has three community centers or squares which provide free entertainment nightly from 5-9pm. Each community has a main square with an open air stage and seating. The square is surrounded by shops and restaurants. So for an evening out these provide entertainment which is inexpensive and varied as each square has a different look and feel. The Lake Sumter Landing, with a nautical theme, is the oldest and largest which provides the most excitement. The other two squares provide enjoyable and quieter evenings.

This was my favorite town square in the villages. There was so much to do and it was very friendly and clean.

This is probably the best location in The Villages for being able to get to the best places in the area. It is convenient to Morse Blvd, 466, Buena Vista road, etc. But once you get here you don't need to go anywhere. Everything is here. There is very good shopping in the market square area, plenty of interesting restaurants, and a winn-dixie as well, all in walking distance or golf cart convenient. So, park you car and take a walk. You can watch the dragon boat rowing team on the lake and this is pretty entertaining as well. There is movie theatre with about a dozen movies you can watch. Getting a place in this area is about the best you can do in The Villages. There is entertainment every night in the square with big crowds and long lines at the bait shack to get a half price wine, beer or mixed drinks and then stroll around with the drink in your hand. Where else can you do that?

After 4pm enjoy great 60’ 70’ 80’ live music, lot great food, lot of stores, nature. Every night there is a different free show. You will see a lot of Golf Carts in the area because this is a 55 + area.

The are three town squares in The Villages. I was there as a visitor of a resident, mainly to play golf and review as a potential resident.
I liked this town square because of the views of the lake. I would find myself as a frequent customer of the many bars/restaurants overlooking the lake.
There's entertainment of all types at each of these squares every night. And, at least one of the restaurants had entertainment as well.
The squares are a blast, this one with great views.

This is the place to come to sera beautiful sunset over the water while enjoying live music in the square.

This square has the most beauty, the most shopping and some of the best restaurants as well as a stadium style theater. Wonderful place at night every night is happy hour and the bands are great.

A nice place to relax, stroll along on the waterside walkway, Take a boat ride, listen and dance to music nightly. Try the Lighthouse restaurant (on the water) great seafood, affordable, good price on drinks. Many other choices of restaurants on the square.

What a beautiful spot. My 6 year old loved the boardwalk and feeding all of those turtles! The boardwalk was very clean and I love that there are clean bathrooms near by!

Great place to visit. Always activities, great restaurants to enjoy. Music on the square every night. Friendly people.

Always enjoy this square while visiting the Villages. Good restaurants, good shopping, and good nightly entertainment. Kind of crowding in the evenings especially in the on season but well worth the stop.

Lake Sumter Landing is one of the best features of the entertainment in The Villages. This is just one of the "Town Squares" in The Villages. There is great entertainment every night from 5-9 PM, dancing and happy hour (not sure of the hours). If that isn't enough, there are fabulous restaurants where you can sit outside and listen to the music, shops to shop in until 9 PM, a movie theatre, and just all around fun. If you are in Central Florida, make it a point to stop in The Villages and experience the most wonderful retirement community in the world.

Stopped by on our first night there. Good, safe, clean place where you can have fun with complete strangers.
The entertainment was great. It is a safe area, food nearby and restrooms are just a short walk away.
This place draws people like a magnet. Open ever night except when there is adverse weather.

This place has a nice ambiance with a lake around , shops and good restaurants, nice for a walk in the evening.

Lake Sumter Landing is one of the most enjoyable areas to visit. The shopping , restaurants, and boardwalk are all attractions. There is a panoramic view of the water from many areas, available seating to relax on the dock while feeding the fish, birds and turtles. (No feeding any alligators if present). Relaxing and beautiful!

Of the three town squares, Lake Sumter is my favorite. The board walk has a relaxing atmosphere and there is a nice walkway from the Lighthouse Restaurant to the Water Front Hotel, on the lake. Nightly entertainment is almost always excellent. There are plenty of restaurants and stores that cater to different tastes. And there is outside seating not only at the entertainment area but at the restaurants and shops as well.

This is the busiest and best of the squares in The Villages. Lots of places to eat and shop and lots of close parking. There is a boat tour of the lake that is well worth the $2 admission. There is nightly entertainment and a market a couple of times a week

It's a nice place to go to just walk around or see a movie, but it's not a MUST SEE kind of place. Mostly for adults I would say.

Me and my kids went to Lake Sumpter because we were staying at a Airbnb in the villages and were surprised how nice the villages communities are. Lake is Sumpter pretty nice. There’s plenty of restaurants to go to and it’s just really pretty walk around the lake area and take great photos

Views, and restaurants, and shops, Oh my! If you're in the mood for ice cream, a good dinner, or just a beer, you're in luck at Lake Sumter Landing. They have craft shows at certain times during the year, and car dealerships bring their new cars for you to look over. Two nights a week they have market night and there is always a band playing from 5-9pm every night so you can dance, dance, dance! It's a great place to be!

Awesome view, Great music, lots of wonderful restaurants My favorite is the lighthouse. Check out the Purple Pig. Take in a movie if you have time.

There is free live music every night in the town square. A movie house with multiple screens, shops, a number of restaurants that are mostly average in quality.

This is one of my favorite places to go. Walk along the boardwalk around the lake and enjoy watching the lake turtles and fish swim by or go to see our beautiful sunsets or sunrises if you're an early bird.. There is a wonderful narrated boat ride around the lake by "The Sumter Captain". Every night is a live band in the main square with dancing and fun. The restaurant choices are many and I can say great food in each one of them....beautiful little shops up and down the well manicured streets. It does have it all and is truly a must see!!

sit down by the water and relax. There are plenty of shops if you are interested, nice restaurants and nightly entertainment as well.

Dancing, bars, endless social hour. This place has so much to do, even if your with your kids, young ones as well as us old kids go here to dance, drink and dine. You must go on a day when Scooter the Dr is here, he is much more entertaining then the other bands, they just sing, he entertains.

Always nice to sit in Lake Sumter Landing listening to music. Always a wonderful place. I will say the during this holiday season it is lacking decorations. Very little color. Other than a tree it is too bad they don’t do more. From where I am sitting I only see white lights that I believe are up year round.

Even before I became a resident, Lake Sumter Landing was a favorite place to spend a few hours, whether to shop, have a delicious meal, attend a movie, stroll along the lake, or just kick back and take in the free nightly entertainment. It's got the feel of a bustling small town center. While there's much to do, a comfy pair of shoes will allow you to easily walk this entire joyful slice of paradise.

Yersterday we drove our golf cart to Lake Sumter Landing to celebrate Hanukkah and the lighting of the Menorah for the first night. What a festive mood! There was ample seating and room for the hundreds of participants. A beautiful place to dance and celebrate.

What a great place for fun, meeting friends for a drink, shopping in the beautiful shops and watching the sun set. I can't think of a better place to vacation or live!! Come between April and Sept for a wonderful time! Winter may be warmer here than where you live but it is so crowded here Jan, Feb, March.

Great town square by the water. FREE Entertainment every night from 5-9pm. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and a movie theatre on the square. My favorite restaurants on this square is the Lighthouse, Red Sauce, Panera's, Cody's, RJ Gator's. Great place to spend the evening. There are also "drinking stations" on the square as well to buy your favorite drink while you watch the free entertainment.

Lake Sumter is a very nice area of the Villages. Plenty of choices of restaurants, shops, entertainment to and enjoying sunsets. Our favorite square to visit ourselves and to take guests to. Take a walk along the lake— you can’t beat the biew❤️

Great little village and my favorite. Has great shopping, food, dancing.
The only downfall is that there are several thieves waiting to prey on the peoples wallets and purses. The Villages would never report that there are problems but there are.

What a cool place. We come from Clearwater Fl, and there is way more going on here in the villages. This is a great place believe it or not for all day long entertainment and activities.

Lake Sumter Landing is larger than Brownwood Paddock Square (also in The Villages). Very nice - plenty of everything - restaurants, theater, stage for music, shops, offices, and more. Nice pier on the edge of the lake where one can see marine wildlife.

Calm night with no rain. Had a nice upbeat band that got people into a great mood. On a large no fishing lake with a board walk around parts of the lake. Almost felt like disney atmosphere. Great place for grandbabies to go with you after a nice dinner.

Love the live music each evening on Lake Sumter Landing Square. Great place to dance! Plenty of chairs around the square to relax and just enjoy the music and people watching!

My wife and I like Lake Sumter Landing for fun and good restaurants. We enjoy the nightly entertainment.

Booked a shuttle bus to the Orlando Airport with thevillagestransportation and had a really bad experience. My luggage was damaged and when I put in a claim they asked for pictures and a copy of the claim made to my insurance company. The result, after a week of delays they asked the bus driver and he did not remember any damages. Surprise! The rejected my claim and I now have a suitcase that can not be used and am facing the cost of replacement. The manager was impolite and rude as well.

Beautiful downtown square surrounded by restaurants and it sits on the shore of a lake. There is entertainment every night and they host many events especially car shows. We go for the eating places which all have outdoor seating and all are reasonably priced

Spent a while listening to music in the Square.
Ate dinner at The Lighthouse Grill and Bar and watched the beautiful sunset!! Great food and entertainment with great friends!! Definitely a must do in The Villages!!

Everyone in my party agrees that lunch was delicious and had no problem making substitutions to their menu. The red fish was absolutely delicious. prices are moderate and atmosphere was agreeable.

We love to eat dinner in The Villages and follow it up with listening to entertainment in the town square at Lake Sumter Landing which is our favorite town square. It sits on a small lake and has nice walkways allowing you to walk along the lake's edge for an enjoyable stroll. They also have a little boat that you can board (I think it's free) and it will take you for a little ride across the lake and back. Many of the restaurants at this town square sit directly on the water with nice water views and outdoor patios. It gets busy in high season but they have plenty of parking, just be prepared to walk or get there early. The square has free nightly entertainment and drinks available at their corner stands. Happy hour 2 for 1 drink specials are offered also. We will return next year when we are down again!

Have visited here quite often as we are renting in the area. Love, love it! RJ Gators is wonderful. Love sitting outside by the water! Wonderful entertainment in the evening in The Square! Happy Hour specials are great!

The center of the Villages and to me the best of the 3. Reason: the lake provides a great backdrop, what seems like more restaurants if not then more that appeal to me, plenty of shops, and the entertainment at night is so much fun. I love strolling by the lake, getting an ice cream from Haagen Daz, and then listen/watching the entertainment. It seems to have a more lively vibe.

Lake Sumter Landing is a good choice for food, entertainment and shopping. The square has a different band every night and people dance all the time! Tons of places to eat and great higher end shopping. It’s easy to get to by car or golf car.

The LSL is one of three town squares. Music and dancing every night from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Restaurants galore of every kind. Also an eight screen movie theater and assorted shopping of almost every kind.

If you are staying in the villages stay at the Waterfront inn! Restaurant has great food and nice people. Square has nightly entertainment and some good places to eat

The most beautiful setting of all three squares. Perfect place to watch the magnificent sunsets over the lake. Stroll on the boardwalk or take a boat ride. Perfect place to enjoy the live entertainment everyday of the year. This square can have people sitting around the entire square and still have lots of space for people to be dancing all the way around the square too. Many wonderful restaurants and stores. All three squares are nice but this one is my favorite!

Lake Sumter Landing is a very nice place . It is on the Lake. They have a boardwalk and places to sit and enjoy the lake. Many restaurants and shops and a movie theatre. They also offer boat rides for a fee. Free entertainment every night from 5-9 and happy hour drinks from 5-6. Be aware of golf car drivers as I think they are among the rudest people I have seen anywhere. Several times I have almost been hit by golf cars not wanting to stop at the crosswalks for pedestrians.

A great place to wander anytime but it is especially pretty with a great sunset. If the sky is right, it can't be beat. Great food stops, shopping and general wandering. Great music in the Square!

Need more shade. Always crowded and very hot, but live dancing and music in the square are an attraction for the masses.

This is our favorite square in The Villages. Beautiful view of the lake and absolutely stunning sunsets. Take in a movie, enjoy one of the many restaurants, shop till you drop or have an evening of dancing on the square with live music. Lots of choices at Lake Sumter in The Villages!

It was sunny, warm day, and cool/cold night, live music, people everywhere having a great time! Plenty of places to eat, very nice and clean town area, golf karts galore, beautiful small lake board walk. Drive down Buena Vista was great, with all the houses and golf courses covered with beautiful landscape and palm trees.

This is where all the action is in the Villages, all the shops, restaurants, movie theater are in here. Ample parking spots and very clean public restrooms. Lovely lake view, sit, relax and enjoy your time here. Recommended...

O M G. Soooo good. Sums it up. We were feeling adventurous so we ordered things we normally wouldn’t had. I had this pizza, that was a Reuben (honestly I forget what they call it) it was a flat bread with all the Reuben makings. See pic. Fantastic!!! Hubby had their pot roast, Brussel sprouts and potatoes. Now he hasn’t been eating all his food lately, but he did that night. It was all seasoned perfect. Service was great. Atmosphere was great. Price is fair. Food was fantastic. PS: he hates brussel sprouts. Hahahahahaha The best part? No MSG 😃

What an incredible development! I am 20 years to young to live here, but we enjoyed the visit. Fun golf carts dart around town, a variety of shops and a lovely walk along the water.

All three town squares have good nightly entertainment and inexpensive drinks. They are also surrounded by restaurants and shops. But I like this one best because it is next to Lake Sumter. You can stroll along the boardwalk, and most of the restaurants have views of the lake. If you only have time to go to one town square, make it this one.

Enjoyed the stilt walkers, dancers and music for St. Patrick's Day celebration. Love to walk along the boardwalk. The town center is bustling with people year round. Enjoy the sites, sounds, tastes and smells! Nothing like The Villages anywhere!

Always a good place to hang out. Good intertainmend, resturants, shops and beautiful view of the lake.

A beautiful place to relax, eat in a huge variety of restaurants, listen to fun, live music every night on the square, go to a movie and shop....not to mention the lake and the gorgeous view in the heart of The Villages.

To just sit, or stroll, to view an awesome sunset, watch turtles swim, bass spawn, locals rowing dragon boat across the lake, dog walkers being towed around on the boardwalk,
people listening between 5-9 each night to live music in the square as grandchildren
hop and jump to the music while their parents dance with them and the parents parents dancing cheek to cheek or just sit peacefully, enjoying the music while holding hands with treasured smiles of happiness.

Beautiful town square with live entertainment 365 days a year!! All kinds of food from Japenese to Johhny Rockets fast food. Must see and visit!!

Fun place to go for shopping and eating.
Looking forward to go back and take more time to walk around the river.

If you are coming to The Villages, you must come and see Sumter Landing. When compared to the other 2 centers, it is much more interesting - with great restaurants, but more importantly, it has the lakeside - and no other place has it. Try the boat trip just to see the place from a different angle.

Can't say enough about this Town Center! Everything you would want and in the middle of The Villages.

Sumter Landing is right on the lake. It has quite an assortment of restaurants and bars as well as shopping. Every evening there is a live band and everyone comes out to dance.. There is a happy hour between 5 and 6 as well. On every occasion there is a big celebration. The vendors come into the square to sell their wares. Everyone is always in a good mood. We always look forward to going over to Sumter.

While staying nearby we were interested to look in on The Villages, which we have heard about for years. The housing areas are gated off, but visits to the squares give you a flavor of the place. We walked the boardwalks at Sumpter Landing, observed birds and turtles ( no alligators-darn) and stopped for lunch at a cafe with outdoor seating. We were near the square, so people watching is fun, as folks gather for the nightly entertainment- many in their personalized golf carts. Seating was plentiful, and we enjoyed watching the dancers ( both groups and couples) as the 2 for 1 happy hour drinks were partaken at either end of the square. Fun and busy place, plenty of places to get a bite to eat and a beverage.

Sumter Landing has a bit of life for everyone. Great places to eat which Cody's is our favorite. There's one in Brownswood too. Then there is music in the square every single night. They change it up too with different bands. Rocky and the Rollers is the best band ever!!! Then there is walking by the water and don't miss the boat ride around the lake. Peaceful and educational. Then the shops are great and interesting items too.

R.J Gators on Lake Sumter. This is a great restaurant which includes different sport channels, sound off or very low. Great menu, full bar, family friendly and great for couples too.

We actually spend lots of time here
since we live so close. It's always festive with either a band or DJ every evening from 5 to 9. with a large dance area for those that want to dance & plenty of chairs for those that want to listen and watch. There are small bars outside on each corner with happy hour prices and several restaurants around the square (very reasonable prices, though food is average) along with various shops to wander in and out.
And yes, a Starbucks!

Great atmosphere for families, couples and singles. Really relaxed and easy going vibe that encourages you to see and do what you want there.

This is one of 3 squares in The Villages. It is open to the public. Live music is played nightly from 5-9. You can walk on the boardwalk, ride a boat for a couple of bucks, visit stores and many restaurants.

Walking the wharf, riding in the boat on the lake, eating at the food places, watching the fun at the music area, shopping, and enjoying a nice evening or afternoon with family and friends.

This is the most active of the squares and probably because it has a good number of restaurants, a Starbucks, on the lake and a hotel in walking distance. As well is has an active bar scene with a couple outside covered bars on the square. Ample parking within easy walking distance.

I am very impressed with The Villages development. Of the three town squares, Sumter Landing is the best. There is a quite large lake with a walkway and shops on the south & east sides. They even offer boat rides on the lake. There are several restaurants to choose from or you can walk and relax along the lake. Every night they have a different local band playing in the middle of the square. Everyone is welcome to get involved or just sit and listen. The Old Mill Cinema offers a unique movie experience. Great fun... you can even make note of the many styles of golf carts, the main form of transportation in the Villages.

Lake Sumter is surrounded by a lively square with nightly entertainment, many restaurants, movie house and stores.
It is a very beautiful area of the villages where you can shop, dine, buy coffee, ice cream, chocolates and even attend a movie. Plus visit the gorgeous Vistors Center.

they have a lot of shopping and everything else we need like many food places, a great ;movie place. We sometime just to go their to hear the music.

We went up to the landing in the evening to see the sun set. There is a boardwalk along the lake that is nice. They also have a $2 boat ride around the lake.
There is plenty of parking in the area, restaurants to eat at, and shops for shopping.
There was a live band playing every night.

Lake Sumter is a lovely town square surrounded by boutiques and restaurants. There is musical entertainment 365 days a year. Walking the boardwalk is a easy stroll on a sunny afternoon. Ice cream from Hagen-Das is delicious! The evening sunsets are spectacular! Definitely a must see when in The Villages!

After a great dinner overlooking Lake Sumter, we heard the music of a fantastic band. Well, couldn't pass up the chance to burn off those calories. I loved it that the square was so crowded...just like being in the "Club Scene" in N.Y. A great place to take your family and guests.

Lake Sumter is my favorite square in The Villages. Best architecture, best stores, best restaurants.

I been to most of the ships and restaurants and the service and prices are great-someone outside of the living area of the Villages told me this is where she brings her children to movies and eateries because it's clean beautiful and safe

We love Lake Sumter Landing, music in the square every night and a beautiful view out over the water.

The family is visiting from Alaska so we carted to LSL square to hear Uncle Bobs Rock Shop. They draw quite a festive crowd so the square was full of dancing with picture perfect weather. The beverage shacks and vendor tents were busy with happy faces of all ages. It is always fun to participate in the awesome lifestyle of The Villages, FL

We love the town square in Lake Sumter Landing. Lots of small shops and restaurants. Easy to get around and a movie theatre, too. I can't imagine anyone not giving it a 5 star review.

This place is a wonderful area to walk your dogs or just hang out with friends. There are a lot of little cute shops and the themed is a sea side town so that’s very cool. There is also a movie theater that has a great movies. There is also a Panera and a Starbucks in this area. The nice thing is there is free live music every night in the town center. If you go to the villages website you can see the band that will be performing live that day. It’s a wonderful place to go and visit at night.

Cheap boat ride...$2/person...I was the only party and gentleman were friendly, helpful, comical & knowledgeable. Nothing to really see that you can’t see from the boardwalk, yet nice little boat ride. Close to shopping and one of the squares.

Lake Sumter Landing has everything you could possible want. There are restaurants, bars, shopping and even a boardwalk to walk along the lake to catch sight of the huge turtles and maybe even an alligator. At night, there is always music and dancing on the square. On Tuesday and Thursday nights, they have vendors there with everything you can think of to buy. You can't go wrong going to Lake Sumter Landing.

It's a wonderful place to stroll around, eat, shop, listen to great bands and have a cocktail while doing it all.

If you love the feel of Key West OR it reminds me of Charleston,SC, you will love to hand out here. Fun, inviting and a great time.

Not only does Lake Sumter Landing have great restaurants, but they also have great shopping opportunities.... From gift shops like The Purple Pig to kitchen shops and wonderful clothing shops like Changes, you can find it all. Also, safety is of the upmost at this square. So come on down and bring your friends and relatives ..There is something for all ages....They will have a blast!

This is a great square. Tons of activities, shopping, restaurants and scenery. Not too crowded this year and lots of fun. We just love to sit and take it all in. This year we went to the home show and chili cook off which was a fun day. Most enjoyable place.

Even if you only have a short amount of time to visit The Villages, be sure to stroll through Sumter Landing... It's set as if we are in Key West... No better sunsets than right on the promenade... you can hear the live music 7 nights a week at the band stand in the center of the square.
Great restaurants and shopping surround it too - and the movie theater is top notch...
Welcome to my NEW home town. Resident since 2011

Sumpter Landing is one of my husband's and my favorite places to go. It is always beautiful and clean with something going on all the time. The "square" is situated on a pretty lake with a nice variety of places to eat, shop or enjoy a movie. There is a live band every night and often there will be special events such as craft bazaars and car shows. The amazing variety of customized golf carts are always fun to see! btw- happy hour is at 5:00! We like to sit on the square (chairs are provided), enjoy a beverage and watch the dancing. When we're ready for a meal we usually sit outside at one of the lake side restaurants and enjoy the gorgeous sunset. There are several restaurants with inside and outside seating offering entertainment. Several parking lots are just off the square. There is also a nice Barnes & Noble book store with yummy coffee. There are people of all ages enjoying the area: babies, teens to grandparents. You'll be glad you stopped by!

A beautiful little town with a great selection of bars, restaurants, cafes, shops, bakeries, etc. Everything you could ask for as well as a great town square, complete with music every night to suit all tastes, a boardwalk, boat rides and just a wonderfully friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Between movies, restaurants, and the Square entertainment, this is a go to place for us! Lots of fun and good shopping too! Love people watching.

Now that Florida is partially 'open' after the 'shut-down' due to COVID-19 Tom & I are going places again. On Sunday we spent hours at various places in The Villages. Lake Sumter Landing is awesome and a great place to take photos while enjoying Florida's super weather.
At a multi fountain area in the square there were some birds drinking water. I took my favorite bird photo that I'll include.

Nice place to go for a walk. Midday is too hot...the evenings or the mornings are the best time to go. I see Moms with strollers, exercising. You can dip in the Panera for an iced coffee and pastry. The theatre is very cool, nice atmosphere. Also, it's fun to browse the Barnes and Noble. The retirees are very friendly, especially love seeing children. Really good Ice cream at Hagan Daas. Also, tasty lime soft serve at the Florida art and gifts shop for $2.

Great place to go with a variety of shops and restaurants. Free live music provided often in the village square. Several restaurants also have live music as well.

By far my favorite, parking is difficult even now when most of the snow birds are gone, but we enjoy the square the best, great restaurants, that will feature most any food that you want and the nightly entertainment is what has made the Villages one of the best places to live in the US.

Of the three market squares in The Villages, I like this place best. Not that I don't like the other squares, the lake is the focal point of the square and it is very relaxing. The fact that the square is practically in the middle of The Villages and away from 441/27 or 301/44 main thorough way gives the place a very tranquil feel to the square. Our friends say the same. The fact this is the only place to have Barnes and Noble gives it extra delight.

A great location for a variety of activities with friends and families. This Villages town square is south of 466 off Morse Blvd and is easy to find. Lots of good restaurants and stores surround the town square with live music every night. A number of boardwalks along the waterfront areas - very pleasant! Movies galore at the Old Mill Playhouse, and a nearby hotel and dining. A great place to relax and have fun!

Love the area just WISH THERE WERE RELIABLE delicious and diner quality dining. Food is so unreliable in every Villages restaurants.

This is our Go To when we have our friends visiting.
Beautiful lake views and water front dining at Gators Dockside.
The food and Happy Hour everyday day is great. BUT the real plus is the well trained staff that gives the Best Service and always presents the meal hot and the drinks COLD !
LADIES don't fret !
There are plenty of SHOPS on the Square . Plus the Movie Theater is top notch.
The entertainment is sure to please. You can Dance to the sounds of Live music every afternoon. IT'S FUN,FUN ....
Our friends are still talking and Thanking US for providing them with a Great Visit.

Our 2 golf carts arrived at Lake Sumter Square about 8PM, a bit later than we expected. The town was quiet but there was a nice crowd listening to the 2 peformers. I forget their names, but they sang well enough to get all of us up and dancing. The bar was open yet Happy Hour ended at 6 PM. A nice way to spend an evening with friends and family and even get ice cream across the street.

This is a Great Place to come to listen to music, have a drink and watch the Suset over the Lake. Very clean and neat.

The Square at Lake Sumter Landing is by far the best of all 3 squares in The Villages. First of all its larger, better dance area, great resturants, and very centrally located within the Villages. Strolling down by the water front is very relaxing and you can see things such as the Arnold Palmer Golf Course, wildlife, Village Rowers preparing for their next competitive event, or take the grandkids on a short boat ride. Some great bands are at the square every evening starting at 5 pm and Tuesday and Thursday are market nights where vendors sell local goods.

If you are over 65 and into Golf then this is truly heavenly. You do need Sat Nav as this is a widely dispersed collection of similar looking villages. There are 120,000 residents in bungalows of various degrees of superiority. Each village is gated and has several hundred bungalows situated near a golf course. Each village has a local pool and post office for residents and their retired friends. Every 3 villages has a sports centre, tennis and larger pool for visiting younger people and children. There is also a hotel, medical centre and Supermarket. So too is there a town centre with pubs and cafes and outdoor music and dancing with weekly happy hours and market stalls. Sumpter Landing was 1 such example and it had a fantastic Golf Course too. There is a huge directory of clubs and interest groups showing off vintage cars and similar. A feature of getting around is the fact that each bungalow has a golf buggy and there is a special lane for these to keep them separate from traffic.

This entire place is great. So much to do every night. Cached a nice Sunset. Nice place to walk day or night.

When we go visit The Villages our trip is centered around being at Lake Sumter Landing each evening. Love the restaurants there and the square is the place to be as the evening progresses. Music and dancing every single night! One of the biggest reasons that we intend to make our home in The Villages very soon.

Between the restaurants, stores and nightly entertainment it’s a fun place to visit.
Walk around the lake on the boardwalk while listening to oldies from hidden speakers.
The lighted buildings make it seem you are at Disney.
A destination not to be missed if you are in the area .

As a resident or visitor, Lake Sumter Landing is a unique area with live music and dancing 365 days a year. Restaurants surround the town square with many unique shops also. The area is on a lake and very picturesque.

Music abounds from 5 PM till 9PM every night with a variety of musical artists; country, Rock and Roll, Jazz, and fun music for kids and family. HAPPY hour is from 5-6 PM nightly. There are dozens of shops around the gazebo. Just check the Daily Sun newspaper for entertainers and flood venues. You'll love going there. ( and the lake is awsome for picture taking)

If you are over 55 yr of age you have heard of The Villages, Fl! This square is one of the three meeting spots in The Villages, offering anyone a delightful opportunity to meet with friends and neighbors while shopping, eating, drinking, dancing and listening to live entertainment every night of the week! I highly recommend it!

We went to the Villages for a softball tournament! Stopped by to listen to the band and have a few drinks! The bands in the squares are incredible! We had a very good time. Everyone is friendly, and it is also dog pet friendly! We saw a variety of dogs and even an exotic bird or two! We really enjoyed our stay

It was just nice to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Looking forward to taking the cruise some day there.

Felt like home in New England, by far the nicest of the 3 squares. Nice walk along the water, great shops and lots of fun. This is the place that sold my wife on the Villages. She did not like the old section at all and fell in love with this.

Music in the square every night. Great places to dine and shop. Excellent view of Lake Sumter. It doesn't get any better.

There are three market squares in The Villages but this I think is the best of all. The lake is soothing and secluded compared to Spanish Springs or Brownwood squares which are by a major highway. Traffic is much quieter here.

Walk along the boardwalk and dance in the square. This appears to be the most popular of the town squares.

Of all the 3 Village squares, we think this is the best. Compared to Spanish Spring which is close to 441/27 main drag or Brownwood near Wildwood 301, Lake Sumter is away from the hustle and bustle. Lake is serene and very relaxing. It is also smack in the middle of The Villages. The most relaxing squares of the three.

We visited the square to listen to Rocky and the Rollers. This is a great band that has been playing here for 22 years they said. We love sitting up on the porch with friends and listen. It was a great night with a picnic dinner and beautiful weather. One of our favorite places.

There is a tour boat that takes passengers around the lake at Lake Sumter Landing. It boards behind the seafood restaurant and the tour guides are GREAT!!! A lot of laughs and they personal the experience too. Lake Sumter Landing's Hidden Gem. Totally worth taking the boat ride.

The Sumter Landing Square is a popular place nightly. There are live bands at the square 365 nights a year (weather permitting) from 5 pm to 9 pm. The square is surrounded by retail stores and restaurants (count today is 8) within a block of the square and 4 right at the square.

Good place to go any time of day while visiting in the villages. We've been here numerous times over the years and have gone the past 2 days. We usually go for Starbucks since it's the closest location to where we stay. Always clean with friendly people. There is a large Barnes and Noble with a decent kids area. Lots of good views if you look out over the lake. Love music every day. We also like to go to the nearby TooJays and Panera.

Sumter Landing is a lovely recreation of a seaside New England town. During the day there are lots of stores and restaurants that beg you to stroll around and enjoy the atmosphere. At night there are live bands and dancing on the square and a holiday feeling. The abundance of amazing golf carts and residents with their dogs makes this a magical evening of fun in Florida’s friendliest hometown!!!

We visited family here. This is a very lively place. Lots of nice restaurants and lots of shops. Directly on the lake. Would highly recommend for an evening out!

Sumter Landing is our favorite with wonderful stores and restaurants along with nightly music with an enormous square with lots of fun dancing! Entertainment is superb! Beverage stands and vendor night every Tuesday and Thursday! Frequent craft shows that are held at least each season!

Great place to shop, eat, and just listen to great bands. Happy hour is everyday 4-6. The restaurants are all great, been to each and they are all our favorites.

After a great ride out in our Street Rod, we stopped to watch the setting sun going down over the water. What a splendid sight! It had been a fabulous day, but yet we were both unprepared for the glorious colours of nature as the sun slipped gently down on the horizon. Magnificent!

Great all around square to shop, eat, listen to live music or just relax near the lake.
Everyone is friendly and helpful.

This square is usually our favorite and we enjoyed our time here but found it to be extremely crowded this year. More people driving their cars rather than cards or something. There were a lot of activities here which were great, Mardi Grar, vendor night and the craft fair were all great. Loved sitting on the sales office porch listening to music, all was good and enjoyable. There were tons of food vendors at Mardi Gras which we enjoyed. Look forward to another event like that. Great shopping and restaurants here. Be sure to stop in.

Variety of restaurants is very good. Location on the Lake is a
real bonus. Hotel is centrally located and does a good job.
Wide variety of health facilities and services provides a great
opportunity to obtain these services close to home.

A great place to spend a few hours and enjoy yourself. Nightly free musical entertainment, a wide variety of specialty shops, numerous good places to eat, a lake front boardwalk, pleasant views and fine weather. If you are in central Florida, take the time to visit. I live in The Villages so we visit Lake Sumter Landing often.

Stopped by after dinner at one of the local restaurants, had an Ice Cream from the local shop on the landing. And saw several large soft shell turtles swimming near the dock. Just across the street was live music, nightly.

I went here on a weeknight for dinner - The atmosphere was lively in the square with a lot of people and live music, as well as a variety of vendors selling items in the square. Many people were sitting in their golf carts enjoying the show and people watching. My only complaint is that everything closes by 9pm, so be sure to get there earlier in the evening.

Music and dancing in the square 365 days per year. Also music in several restaurants. Many types of food. Several restaurants you can eat outside with a view and hear the music. Lots of shopping.!,
Music in the air
There is always so much action going on in Lake Sumter Landing. Lots of great restaurants located near the town square. Want to take a boat ride? Its here. How about a trolley ride to see a lot of The Villages. Its free with a great tour guide showing and telling you about different sights as you pass them. There is always music and dancing nightly from 5PM to 9PM. on the square.Great food, great drinks and great friendship in Lake Sumter Landing. You don't want to miss it.
