The cliffs and hills surrounding the lakes make parts look like Italy. Lots of trees and natural areas keep the countryside look.

But when there has been a long drought, not worth the trip. Hard to find swimming areas, alot blocked off due to low water. Check water level before making the trip. Very beautiful lake.

The water is so low in lake right now. It seems very dirty too. I don't think it would be fun to do anything, besides its so hot all day and dry. We stayed in the Hollows resort rental house. The resort is nice but all we did is stay at the house and pool. I don't think it's worth to travel. I rather just stay in Austin would be more fun.

Great for any outdoor activity. Great boating, fishing, swimming, skiing, wake boarding, tubing and whatever else to enjoy. The water is pristine and the cleanest in the Highland Lakes chain.

It's a beautiful body of water to sail on. Lot of friendly people on neighboring boats and on the shore. Great when the weather's not too hot!

Best enjoyed if your accommodations include a view of the lake. Some smaller park areas are owned by local HOA associations. There are no bridges connecting the North and South areas of the lake -- a Longg way around.
If you are a fisherman, plan on getting a fishing guide to take you to the best fishing spots.

It's not actually too far...unless you get stuck in traffic on RM 2222; but the drive to the lake is very scenic. Any of the overlooks above Lake Travis will astound you at its size & beauty. Whether it be at "high water" or "low water," the views are stunning. (Have been going here for many years on visits down from New England, but never thought to review it.)
Bring good walking shoes. Bring a picnic lunch. Bring kids. Bring the pups. Bring a good area map. You won't be disappointed.
In places, you can get down to the water level. Much boating & sports activities going on, on the lake. Tried swimming but the water is a way tad chilly & the dammed up Colorado River runs cold, unless you've got a wet suit or are a polar bear.

It is a very pretty lake with plenty of fun for the entire family. We have a condo on it and love to spend time there!

Wonderful lake...just hoping it comes back after the drought! Lots of boats, some beach area. Kayaking is nice if its not terribly windy. Jet skiing great!

A visit to Lake Travis provides awesome views, even in the dead of winter. The sunsets from vantage points on the east are the best ( try the Oasis). Any time of day works well. If course normal lake activities are great in the warmer times of years but January still provides great views.

A beautiful lake about 25 minutes from DT. Typical lake food type restaurants so stay with the burger places. Scenic views with lots of coves. Rent a pontoon or ski boat and get away from it all.

We are regular visitors to Lake Travis because it's a beautiful lake. The water is back up, yay! The sunsets are awesome, fishing is great, lots of yummy restaurants, and the Texas Hill Country is just lovely. Will we return to Lake Travis in the future? You bet. My husband is already trying to plan our next trip now, especially now that the wildflower are starting to show up. Maybe we will see you there soon!

The Oasis on Lake Travis was awesome! The mexican restaurant had the best food, service, and margaritas!

Even though the waterline is very low right now on Lake Travis, we rented a house in Lago Vista were there was still plenty of lake. And almost no one was there for the entire four day weekend! It was almost like having it all to ourselves. There was plenty of room to do tubing and jet skis. We had an awesome time!

Breathtaking especially at sunset. You can go to any of the local restaurants along the lake to see the views. Altho Summer 2011 was a terrible year for the lake as we are some 50+ feet below normal and new "islands" has surfaced. We need rain and lots of it!!! Still nice to look out at unless you along the shallow side :{

We visited Lake Travis at JK Park in Lago Vista, TX. We did some kayaking, fly fishing and just enjoying the time by the water. Speaking of which, the water is very warm and fairly clear in July. There are a fair number of boats on the water during summer weekends so be careful out there.
It is a very scenic lake with some beautiful hills surrounding the water. There many parks around the lake shore although some are controlled by local POA's and not open to the public.

Nice lake but due to the drought there was little to be impressed by. Like Belton Lake in Killeen/Belton area better.

This is a huge and beautiful lake. I did a weekend getaway with the girls to this lake. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The homes off of the lake are just magnificent. We rented a boat and two jet skis. There was a little overcast which caused a wonderful and pleasant breeze. My party stayed in one of the condos off and the lake was in our back yard. I will definitely be back to the lake to visit with my young daughter. This is a great place for couples, families, girls getaway, or if you want to just go and be somewhere solo.

Low water level to enjoy the lake. Average eating places around the lake with the exception of Hudson's.

Had a great day here. Stopped at every inlet to see the water and when possible walked down to the lake. Some areas had really good water access. Lots of camping sites with picnic tables and campfire pits. Enjoyed jumping off the rocks into the lake.

Lake was at capacity for water level. Went to Bob Wentz Park and paid 10$ per car. Set up under the yellow pavilion along the lake shoreline. Was able to walk into lake with no issue. I wear water shoes because with the water level at capacity there is debris and other things you can't see. Water was clean and cool. Stayed the day on July 3rd and enjoyed it. Restrooms and volleyball courts onsite. We had tubes and other inflatables and used electric pump to blow them up.

This lake is beautiful! Super clear. We loved the scenery. The teenagers loved the trip to waterloo for the obstacle course. We also enjoyed it quite a bit more than we thought we would. Hoping to check out a few more places next time including pace bend.

The lake is a common local place to escape the heat and get wet. This beach has plenty of parking a nice little hike and is quite the site, although the lake is low, but still swimable, it is also got spots where nude sunbathing is not legal but is common, plenty of rock ledges to lay your towel down, the water is refreshing and it was always an enjoyable trip, tip bring water to drink, sunscreen and be prepared to have fun!

We have lived around the lake for more than a decade. It can be great but it can also be awful. The lake levels are variable and the area has been in a multi year drought. If the lake isnt up to level it makes it hard to enjoy. If the lake is at level, it is hard to beat.

After a "good" drought it is fun to go back to the lake again, camping is possible although the water is still not all the way up to Mud Cove. But the water feels so good when it is 100F

The water is back and its beautiful.. Rent a boat and enjoy the fun. Take snacks and drinks. Make a day of it.. Friends and Family time .. A good time will be had by all :-D

You can rent a boat for a day or half-day and find a quiet little beach or dock at a lakeside restaurant for lunch or dinner. Younger folks tie up at Devil's Cove and party (think: booze, bikinis, loud music). But the rest of the lake is pristine and lovely, and while the level of quite low (be careful of submerged objects no longer submerged, or sandbars) there is still plenty of lake to be enjoyed. Once the level comes back up more restaurants will reopen as well.

Because the water levels vary, it's a little difficult to find boat up places to go. But, the water is clean and warm and overall a nice place to relax and cool off.

I would definitely give lake Travis a 5 star review if it wasn't for the Zebra mussels that have invaded our lovely lake. I'll use this platform to remind everyone visiting the lake to please wash and dry your boats when you leave any body of water. These invaders have become a big problem over the last year and threaten our water supply not to mention they are very sharp and can cut young and old feet alike when taking a refreshing dip. Please help us keep our lake safe and inviting for years to come!

I've lived at Lake Travis for many years and have seen it during drought, flood and perfectly in between. There's still plenty of water even during the drought, if you take the time to find the marinas and boat ramps that are open. One of the cleanest, clearest lakes in the nation.

With all the recent drought, Lake Travis is breaking records for how little water it is holding. If you have a boat, it is hard to find a functioning ramp.

In 2010 -2012 this lake has been very low making it hard to enjoy but great for fishing!

This lake is so huge ! You're able to rent boats (without a license - but someone needs to know how to drive or you will sink the boat ) rent jet skiis n they have a supermarket for snacks, beer and drinks. You can dock and party with other boats which we kinda did, the anchor had nowhere to tie it to on our boat ! Fail at that but we were close to the other boats and some guys had the same problem with their anchor. There's a cool lunch bar and restaurant on the cliff overlooking the water which was really fun. Overall a great place to go for the day!

During droughts, the water level in Lake Travis drops to the point where islands start to appear, i.e. the tops of former hills before Mansfield Dam was built and put the area under water. During these periods, starting from Mansfield Dam Recreational Park you can easily kayak out to the islands for a bit of exploring ( there's a $10 day use fee at the park).
Sometime Island(s) can be viewed at this lat/long: 30.401677,-97.891445

Lake Travis is way cool and super fun place to go to on a hot summer day to cool off and relax and enjoy the day.and that is why my family likes to go there.

bob wentz park is a county park on lake travis. the park is public but there is a small fee. swimming, boating water activities. the park has lots of habitat for small animals. a brown booby is frequently seen on a buoy.

I love the warm water. I've owned boats for 21 years and have learned to live with the ups and downs of Lake Travis. It can't be beat for good lake access restaurants and clean water.

We rented a Ski Boat from “Just for Fun,” and boated around the lake. It was beautiful, lots of space and large houses. It was the day after labour day so not that busy. Highly recommendes

Lakes and rivers entail usually beautiful nature areas.
Also here around Lake Travis. That is precisely, what you se here.
Lake Travis is a reservoir, formed i 1942, when Mansfield Dam was build over Colorado River west of Austin.
There are so many beautiful places on both sides of the lake.

We live near the lake but the past few years have been so dry that the lake is too low to enjoy. That creates a hazardous rise in bacteria levels too. The surface temp of the water has risen well above 85 degrees which is a breeding ground for all kinds of harmful pathogens.
What makes it even worse is that the Lower Colorado River Authority wont close the flood gates so the lake can rise when it does rain. We are shocked at what our beautiful lake has turned into. Some areas look like the dry aired landscape on mars. Boat docks are abandoned and boats are toppled over on their sides.
There are other issues to worry about too. Pumps in the lake to provide much needed water for emergency services, but they keep having to move them further and further out, and even when there is a fire there is no water pressure to fight it.
A resort on the lake uses water pipes into the cooler water to cool the resort units, but they have not been able to do that because of the lake levels. So even businesses are suffering too.
I hope we can get it back up to a fun place again, but that seems it will take decades of good rain to do it.

The price entrance cost is pretty steep to just step next to the lake, it is better to do a water activity in other lake entrance or to go to the Oasis for the views.

We love being on the lake. Especially during this winter we have had such fantastic weather we got out as often as possible. Probably go out this weekend since the rain stopped.

At times this lake may be wonderful. Right now it's half empty. Check before you go. I'm sure at times this is a wonderful area, but with the current lack of rain, it is sorely lacking.

This place is a breathe of fresh air coming from a more inland part of Texas such as Dallas. It’s rolling hills and lush vegetation set it apart from the flat land you associate with most of Texas. When you first get to the lago vista area you are taken back with the wonderful lake views and quant suburbs nestled in the hills. It is a place with a plethora of outdoor activities. We opted to rent a boat and zip line while in the area. Make sure to drive safety as there are herds of cute deer that will come up to you and eat out of your hand. Adorable place overall. Make sure to stop at the local grocery store because once at your rental it is around a 15-20 minute drive back into town. Also there is a food truck court that we never got around to visiting but it looks like a fun time. Great for the whole family

Not much Scuba Diving in central Texas but Travis has a few spots to go explore. There is multiple places to go to get to those spots and a dive park.

I have to say that this lake may be even prettier than Lake Austin. The locals told me that it was gone up 11 feet in the last 6 months and has covered trees that grew during its low time. It is breathtaking and really worth at least a few minutes of you time to see it.

The water levels at Lake Travis are down 60%. We stayed on the Island which at one time had water around it. No longer. I feel sorry for people who built these huge expensive houses there only to not be able to use there boat docks. Bad news.

My husband and I have been boating and swimming at Lake Travis for decades. We are motor boater and sailors. The lake is and awesome place to motor boat, sail and swim. Our 3 favorite swimming spots are Windy Point (and Bob Wentz Park), the Mansfield Dam Park and Pace Bend Park). Cow cove (across from Pace Bend Park) is a nice swimming spot but you need to get there by boat. We have seen many raft ups (up to 35 boats) in Cow Cove. Lago Vista Park is a great place to see an awesome sunset. There are lots of places to rent boats and other water toys. The lake is not constant level. When swimming or wading be aware, there could be a flat surface under you then a cliff drop off. When sailing, be aware that the winds are very shifty on the lake. During the summer, the lake level drops and many ‘Sometimes’ islands show up in the lake. Boats need to be aware of hidden underwater dangers. During the draught of 2010-2015 many trees started growing on the islands. The trees are underwater at this writing.

The time here is nice to get out on the water. It is crowded on the lake, so go early morning or late evening.

My wife and I had dinner with friends at The Oasis, self-proclaimed "sunset capital of Texas." I used to live in Austin and had visited the former version, a comparatively quaint set-up compared with the food factory complex the owners are running today. Our friends said the old premises were lost in a fire some years ago and the owner rebuilt on a grand scale. That would be putting it mildly. Of course 'everything is bigger in Texas', so perhaps it is a redeeming quality. Depends on one's perspective.
The food is so-so. The quality was all right, but the portions were skimpy. That was okay for us because we think portions in the USA tend to be over the top much of the time. I had the burger and fries, and my wife had the tuna burger with sweet potato fries. The bun is brioche and was excellent -- the best part, overall. The fries weren't cold, but coolish. The margaritas were fair -- not much tequila to taste, but refreshing. Our friends had beef fajitas and said they were good. So it's all right. Nothing to write home about, but okay.
The service was poor, however. There are a lot of customers in the sunset period and the wait staff has to really scramble. By observation, some did better than ours. Our waitress was very slow and not dependable. Some of what we ordered didn't make it to the table. Some made it but late. And overall we were constantly having to ask for everything. When I asked for ketchup that never came, so we scavenged a bottle from a near table of nice folks who were pleased to pass it on.
So what you go for and pay for is the view. That happens on three levels of deck seating. There is also a large indoor space and on the third floor they had a samba band. The band was excellent, but very load. Conversation was impossible. If you want to chat, get a table on the first level, second at most. The view was fine, thanks to Mother Nature. But it was a bit disappointing too. Drought conditions in recent years have caused the water level to drop dramatically. In the past the sun set across unbroken waters; now there is a peninsula jutting into the lake and dividing it nearly into two parts.
Overall, it was fine to visit but we won't go back. It was better in the old days, although the food was not as good back then. But the whole affair has an aesthetic that is some odd mixture of industrial production, food factory, spring break deck party. When the sun has set the place clears out like water rushing away for low tide.

Lake Travis has always been our favorite family lake. There are so many facets of the lake that make it special. The amazing waterfront homes, the boats - large and small, the marinas and their restaurants and sunrise and sunset. You do not need a boat to enjoy it.

So often you can't boat there with the low water levels makes it a bummer

Beautiful if a bit crowded in summer months. We went to Lake Tahoe on vacation and commented that it was similar to Lake Travis but on steroids. Lots of variation depending on the part of the lake - party coves to secluded fishing spots.

Lake has come up alot - after many years of having little water, Lake Travis has risen to recreational limits. Great to have to back, unfortunate that so many people lost so much with the terrible storms which have filled it.

Right now Lake Travis looks pretty sad due to the severe drought the area has experienced.

If you want to enjoy a quiet and peaceful area, Lake Travis is the place to visit. Enjoy the beautiful views in a serene setting. Many areas to stay and short drive to area wineries.

When we were in Texas, our friends and family rented a party barge here at Lake Travis. We had so much fun, it's very beautiful, not in a flat area, but in a hilly area. I kind of reminds me of the Grand Canyon. This is a must do, when in the area.

We drove from San Antonio and the drive was nice, not too long and not much in the way of traffic congestion.
As you approach the lake, the surrounding area is beautiful.
Our reason for this trip was to get a couple SCUBA dives in. We didn't know what to expect in way of the park around the lake but thought it would be worth trying. We were very happy with both the beauty of the park and lake as well as how kept up and clean everything was.
There was a $15 per person charge to enter the area we went diving which I thought was a bit high but if that is how they keep the park beautiful, well worth supporting the effort! There were picnic tables, areas to grill, camping, and restroom/shower areas. Again, well worth the fee.
SCUBA diving - well first of all, remember it is a lake, not the Caribbean or other tropical beautiful blue ocean. With that in mind, the water was 87 to 88 degrees until abut 35 feet where it quickly dropped to 83 which felt much cooler. Visibility was only about 4-5 feet which is about the worst it will be due to late summer, warmer water and full algae bloom going on. There are free carts to use to bring your equipment from the car to the diving area. The are multiple areas to enter the lake all having steps taking you down to the water.
Please see the Lake Travis website for additional information. Bottom line for the SCUBA diving, if you just want to do a dive, hone in your navigation skills and basically add another dive to your log, they have done a great job in the accommodations to do just that. I would recommend this place for everything mentioned, a nice park get away, picnic, camping, and/or lake diving.

I have been to many lakes. Lake Travis is top for beauty and clear water
I LOVE this lake. I would recommend this lake for any water activity.

My wife and I spent a full day on Lake Travis during our recent five-day stay in Austin. Our first encounter with Lake Travis was when we had lunch at the The Oasis, which is built high on a hill overlooking Lake Travis with spectacular views of the Lake. The same afternoon we rented a “Just For Fun” double deck pontoon boat for four hours. Coasting along Lake Travis on a steadily moving two story boat, while looking out onto lush green hills and the picturesque rippling water was a lot of fun. It is amazing how the Lake Travis water level is down over thirty feet in just the last few years. It was amazing to see the devastation caused by this huge water drop. Lake Travis is a huge Lake and is very peaceful and relaxing. There were not as many boasts on the lake as we were expecting to see.

For years, the drought reduce Lake Travis to an no go site, but 2015 welcomed back the water, and the boats and visitors. Many camping, dining, and hiking options

The level of the lake is at record lows for the last 50 years and there is little hope of that changing soon. Probably not a good time to visit here.

My husband and I stayed on Lake Travis for our anniversary last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a room with a view of the lake and it was so peaceful and beautiful. And there are so many restaurants and things to do around the lake, you couldn't get bored. We loved it!

This is a great lake for aquatic fun. We bought our admittedly old ski bot but were still able to get away from people so we could ski. Nice area.

Lake Travis is such a beautiful place. Just breathtaking when seen from the right view. We saw it over memorial day weekend and it was a very busy place but still enjoyable.

Lake travis is great for fishing swiming boating ect. The water is clear and clean. Theres lots to do and see on the water. Places to eat and rent boats and jet skis

I enjoy sailing out of the Austin Yacht Club, but with the current multi-year drought it is likely to be a very long, hot summer with record low lake levels.

Great place to spend a hot summer day. Boating on the water is fun and so many beautiful things to see.

This is s great place for a weekend getaway, you can stay at one of the lake front hotels or condos.
There are multiple Marinas where you can rent a boat and have a nice day with your family or friends enjoying the view or practicing water sports

Very clean lake. Lot thing to do including fishing. we rented a pontoon from Aqua Vista Sports for 4 hrs and had a lot of fun. The owner was very helpful and gave us many tips where to go down the river.

A beatiful lake nice to go in a picnic or náutico Sports if you hace the opportunity. Nice to swin and Speedtest a Day in

The Lago Vista High School Band met here before school started. We enjoyed walking to a few drop off points overlooking Lake Travis. Everyone went swimming and enjoyed the sunny day. Swimming in Lake Travis never gets old. The water is low, but there's plenty of water to swim in. This is a private park as most parks in Lago Vista, TX are.

The lake is long and narrow, but wonderful for tubing and waterskiing. Plenty of restaurants to boat to for lunch and dinner. Had a great vacation!

Drove from the shops on the hill down to the small winding road to lake Travis. With my family and kids in the car, stopped at the first lake entrance we found. Long story short, we left when the guy told us it is for "nude's only". Off we go to another entrance. Lol. This time we were glad we could keep our clothes on. However, we were disappointed to see a vast area of a dry lake bed. We had to walk a bit more to get to the water. We lingered a bit. All in all, it's still a pretty place.

We had booked a boat cruise on the lake. The boats are set up with Upper and Lower decks and a water slide. You can also leap off the upper deck (into the lake). Also BBQ and bathrooms (not next to each other).
Although there has been a drought and the lake was about 30 feet below it's average level, it was pretty cold and windy on our trip. They moored the boat to some rocks but it was very exposed there and we had to move.
It wasn't a great day for relaxing in the sun on the lake. We pulled the pin early and went to the pub...
Had the weather been better it probably would have been a great day.

The water used to be so beautiful & turquoise, but since people are using up all the water in this man made lake & mismanaging it, it's just kinda murky/muddy/sucky now. There aren't a lot of available boat ramps either. I hope it can fill up again someday

I lived in Austin for over 3 years and went to lake Travis a lot. I remember that it was very expensive and crowded but worth a day at the park. Just don't go too much I say.

Hoping the water levels come back soon!
There's always something going on in the area, so visit (but please don't stay) 620 has enough traffic already! :)

I love going diving here. There are lots of fish interested in vienna sausage and there's sunken boats and little fun things to look at.

Amazing family fun awaits you all on this beautiful lake. Coves to explore and drift while relaxing. Rent a pontoon at VIP Marina at Lake Travis with a tube to have a blast! There are plenty of spots to find and drop anchor and have a onboard picnic!
Fun for all...especially early morning or late afternoons. This is just a wonderful way to spend the day. We took kids and grandkids and everyone had a great time. Lookout- grandpa doing a cannonball! What a photo. But best of all was grandpa showing up the others in his ability to hang on for dear life while tubing high over the wakes of other boats! Now, that was a sight! So much to see along the way...beautiful shore lines, homes and resorts. Enjoy. Take plenty of water, sunscreen and a good hat. Life is short...stop and just do it. You deserve it and so does the family. How priceless are memories of a lifetime for all to hold dear.
Sincerely.

Has not had too much water for the last couple of years. Development around the lake is unreal. What used to be a nature road trip is now a traffic jam. They missed a great opportunity on 620 to control zoning, architecture and density/growth rate to create something special and attractive.

I've spent many a good time in the water and on the shores of Lake Travis. Due to the severe drought of the last several years, the water is at an all-time low, and ALL of the public boat ramps are now closed (no water to get boat into). HOWEVER, you can still rent a ski-boat from Just for Fun and get out there and do some serious skiing, since there's very little boat traffic!

I grew up on Lake Travis, located just outside of Austin and have been going there for forty years plus. It is clean, clear, warm, safe, not scary, and just plain fun for all water enthusiasts.
Rent a boat for a day or a week. Do the same with a lakeside condo or hotel. Also, the restaurants there are pretty decent and you are very close to the Hill country galleria for everything else.
Have a great vacation!

Great FUN lake. Lord, send some rain, tho! We need it. I live 2 blocks from this lake and there are PLENTY of parks, great places to just let your hair down! Bring the Family and/or friends. Beautiful scenery in all directions and WARM water to swim in.

There are a many touring/view points around this big lake with different parks, Water sport activities are available when water level in lake is up. Overall a good one to be.

Before the drought it was OK but overrated. Now with the drought it's not worth the drive out from Austin... unless you just go to the Oasis for the view and the drinks. Skip the food though!

This is a great lake to swim or boat in. If you don't have a boat go to one of the county or LCRA parks and swim. Take a raft or inner tube and enjoy

Provide more public access. Access to the lake is limited amd requires a fee. Be sure to have a plan before going, or you will be disappointed. Traffic is terrible. The Lake is not enjoyable as it was 20+ years ago.

Jet ski all day, only thing I would change is the fact that they ban Jet skis on public holidays.

Loved the lake area. Lago Vista is a real beautiful, quiet retreat. Love living there. Need rain so we can get the water activities going once again.

Lake Travis is fun and beautiful. There are a variety of activities to choose from to enjoy the lake.

We rented a pontoon boat from Liquid thrills. They were very thorough. The boat was excellent and we were able to go several miles for boating fun and we stopped a few times for some swimming time. The lake was not busy at all. We were out on the first Tuesday in June at 10 am for 4 hours. The weather was cloudy and the water temperature was on the cool side. We rented another pontoon boat from Lago Vista Boat Rentals. They were friendly and we got the nicest boat in their fleet. We had the same experience as earlier in the week. The 2nd trip was the first Friday in June at 10:30 am for 4 hours. The weather was totally sunny and the water temp was far more comfortable, refreshing but not too cool. There was a bit more activity on the lake but not too busy. Both rental companies were fine. Due to availablity, we needed to use two companies. Book ahead if you can. We waited to see the weather before booking. We will definitely be back!

drought conditions 2011 & 12, It is crazy how empty the lake got - really does ruin it - but can't do a thing about it

This lake is best traversed by those who know the dangers. As the lake levels change, accidents are more frequent.

Large rock cliffs and beautiful clear water lake. It’s extremely long and covers a lot of area. We have had some luck fishing for white bass and catfish. Perfect lake to take a cruise in the boat or ride the jet ski. The views are spectacular.

This is a fun lake even in drought conditions, which has been bad here. Just don't get too close to hippy hollow unless you like a bunch if nude folks running around.

Huge lake close to Austin. When full, there is plenty of room for every lake activity you can think of, but lately we've been suffering through extreme drought, so the lake isn't at its prettiest right now and there are several restrictions on its use.

Lake Travis is wonderful in a good year. If we have a bad drought, as we did in 2011, it can almost dry totally up. So check lake levels before you go out, or just watch the local news. They usually give the lake levels and comment on it's condition.

go to the oasis if your ever in austin tx...great place for a drink and a beautiful sunset!
We went out on lake Travis with family while staying with my aunt and uncle recently in the hill country. It was a beautiful trip and just riding around on the boat on the smooth lake was a ton of fun! Lots of beautiful houses to see and fun to just cruise around!
